Best Western Plus Bonham

Attended a meeting in the conference room for 3 days. Rain water got in room multiple times. Floor soaked and room stinks. Manager on duty was defensive and not listening to our concerns. but Precious was the best employee! She asked how can I help you several times. A/C did not work well in our actual hotel room and the floor was wet there too. No toilet paper in the downstairs bathroom. Overall the hotel was clearly not concerned with all our possessions we had in the room and whether or not they got wet and ruined. Went downstairs this morning for breakfast and was back in the meeting room-went back upstairs to my room to get the rest of my stuff at 10:30 and my door was propped open already-we had not checked out yet. Don't feel comfortable with the fact they just come in your room as they please. Will not be returning to this hotel.

Unfortunately this Holiday Inn isn't quite up to par with the others we have stayed in. The breakfast was fine, but the hotel in general had a musty odor. The hallways and exercise room were very dirty. Our room was fairly passable, but the pullout had questionable debris on the mattress, so we didn't use it or sit on the sofa. And the carpet needed vacuumed. I can understand that this hotel isn't in a big tourist location and is at the back end of a small town, so it probably doesn't get updates as more popular areas do, but the cleanliness needs addressed. And the musty odor. And the doors close quickly so we heard door slams into the night. It simply needs some care and attention to detail.

After booking this stay as an anniversary getaway, I read some (older) reviews which indicated this property is not welcoming to people who have concealed carry licenses. We checked in on Saturday, April 8th, 2023 and checked out on Easter Sunday, April 9th, 2023. We saw no indication, neither in writing in the form of statements on reservation disclosures, nor in the form of signage at the property, nor verbally, that the lawful carrying of weapons is restricted or prohibited on the property in any way. If that was a policy before, it is not the policy any longer. That established..we enjoyed our stay. The hotel sits a couple hundred yards off the main road and traffic noise was nonexistent. The hotel IS pet friendly and we heard one bark. A single bark. Around 10:00pm as we were retiring for the night. Other than that, the only noise we heard from outside our room was the occasional nearby door clicking shut. In the morning we found breakfast to be fresh and plentiful. Cinnamon rolls. Butter, jelly, honey, and cream cheese to spread upon the breads, English muffins, and bagels available. Pancakes, syrup, sausages, veggie omelets. Hot oatmeal, cold cereals, milk, juice, fresh fruits. And coffee. Lots of coffee. Keurigs in room. Gallon sized dispensers in the breakfast area. We've stayed overnight in Bonham a couple different times. Now that we have someplace in Bonham to compare our first stay to, the Holiday Inn Express is the place I'll recommend to others.

Beds are very hard NO water pressure in shower or sink Definitely needs to be modernized Ice machine was out on bottom floor so had to go to 3rd floor for ice, musty smell up there around machine The plus side is that they do accept pet It seemed cleaned downstairs

This hotel is nice and clean, well kept, and staff was friendly and courteous, however I was very disappointed that a hotel in Texas prohibits both concealed and open carry of firearms by law abiding citizens. I had no choice this stay, however, there will not be another as long as this policy remains in effect.

These guys have always been incredibly helpful each time I've had to travel to the area during this pandemic. From their understanding flexibility and ability to get me into a resident on at the last minute, to extending or changing my reservations on a moments notice, to your complete understanding and allowing me to have a later check out after I've had to work a night shift, they've been a hero of mine over the last 6 months. I can always count on a clean room, a comfortable bed, a hot breakfast served with a smile and the kindness of all of their staff. THANK you!
