"Lovely afternoon tea"
Curious25551988962, 03 Avril 2024

Went for Afternoon tea, bought as a gift. Beautiful peaceful surroundings. Lovely selection of tasty sandwiches, delicious scones and cakes. Good selection of teas and coffees, which were topped up at no extra charge. Very helpful, friendly Staff.

"Needs updating and more professional serving staff"
RealAlers, 21 Mars 2024

Set in lovely surroundings, this is a lovely hotel but it does need some refurbishment. Staff are friendly but a bit unprofessional so for example when I asked for crisps, I was told they had gone out of date, They did go and get me a bowl, presumably not out of date. The bed was comfy. The food is lovely if a bit minimalistic. It's a great hotel but over priced for food and drinks. My husband mentioned the pit holes in the drive as they are really bad, only to be told they no longer have a maintenance man. With the prices they charge they should be able to employ one, much needed in such an old building.

"Quirky and lovely."
cgrB1689EK, 21 Mars 2024

On arrival met with a lovely smile, all the staff are friendly and professional, nothing was too much bother. Our room was quicky but clean and tidy with a great hot shower, soft towels, gown and slippers. The bar / lounge was warm and inviting with low level pleasant music and a fire burning making for a relaxing pre-dinner drink (and a night cap). We booked dinner in the restaurant and the food was really excellent. Would stay again.

"Very well looked after"
Liz W, 08 Mars 2024

We arranged a 2 night stay for a group of 18 people. The event lady, Kim, who arranged the group room booking was fantastic. Everything was in order when we arrived all the plans were in place for a trouble free couple of nights. Only wish we were staying longer. A great place to stay and visit Bletchley Park. All the staff we met were friendly and nothing was too much trouble, very refreshing.

"Best stay"
Ricardo d, 28 Février 2024

The property is very old style but amazing. The rooms are beautiful and the service is really personalized. Property really has a warm welcoming feeling. Had dinner which was almost like fine dinning and the food was really amazing I cannot fault my dinner lunch or breakfast attention to detail. I will definitely go back to Flitwick. Nicolette the hotel manager is really doing a great job as well as Kim on front desk and Will. I cannot remember the name of the waiter but she was young with blonde hair tied up but was really good at what she does. Petty I cannot remember her name.

"Such a lovely place."
Gareth T, 28 Février 2024

From pulling up to leaving our stay was enjoyable. Such a warm welcome at reception. My only issue was the stairs to the room I found difficult. But, my wife was fine. Beautiful room, well maintained and had all amenities you expect. Breakfast choices hot and cold were V good. Hot food was delivered quickly, looked and tasted good. Sadly, due to other commitments we didn't have evening meals but, I would think it would be good if breakfast was anything to go by. Limited choice of draught products-1 lager, 1 ale(acquired taste). Selection of house wines and branded spirits. Nice relaxing lounge/bar. Finally, the staff were fantastic. Pleasant, helpful and attentive. Can't wait to go back when next in the area.

"Always a warm welcome here."
Gillian C, 24 Février 2024

First stayed here on my own in June 2022 at a difficult time. Staff were helpful and caring, a real port in a storm. Have visited with my husband several times since, this is our 'go to' hotel when suporting family in the area, most recently in early Feb. Staff incredibly helpful, making sure we had the room of our choice. Food is excellent, both in the bar and restaurant, but what really makes Flitwick Manor is the wonderful Staff. Nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be back.

"Wonderful stay, gorgeous old hotel, stunning food!"
tiaraflipflops, 23 Février 2024

My boyfriend and I just had the most wonderful 24 hours day at Flitwick Manor. It's a really old place full of history, antique furniture, sloping floors and creaky doors... so if you're looking for brand new with all the mod cons you won't find that here but we think it was all the better for that !! The staff are kind, warm and friendly & can't do enough for you. They even showed us two or three rooms on arrival so that we could choose our favorite! We chose a huge room with a beautiful four poster bed which was sooo comfortable! We had a cream afternoon tea on arrival, a three course evening meal and a full cooked breakfast the next morning and can vouch for the fact that the chef & their team are amazing. We can't wait to go back.

"Personable & Efficient Service"
Lutonlord, 19 Février 2024

On looking for somewhere as a birthday surprise treat for my wife , this establishment's reviews stood out in comparison to some other local ones . We hadn't been here since a friend's wedding some years back so decided to book via telephone, the process was straightforward enough and they were also able to answer a couple of additional questions . The price included an afternoon tea with scones and jam , a 2 course dinner , breakfast with a decent checkout time of 11am. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Joan who had also ensured we could have our tea earlier as well as arranging for a bottle of wine on ice in our room as a further surprise for my wife . During booking us in she also gave a little brief history about Flitwick Manor which was interesting and added to the experience. Our room was spacious with its own staircase and landing with a fantastic view of the garden and the adjacent wood . The rest of the staff we encountered were equally as warm , friendly and helpful throughout our stay . The food from our afternoon tea , dinner and breakfast was superb in terms of presentation and flavour . There was mention of the place looking tired , yes it is rather old which adds to its charm , some TLC is needed due to this but it is still very clean and tidy . The do also allow dogs which wasn't an issue for us and the nearby wood and old church next door are worth exploring while walking off the lovely food . My wife enjoyed her treat and we both came away feeling we'd had a nice relaxing and most importantly enjoyable experience.

"This is such a swell place"
407zoe, 14 Février 2024

Flitwick Manor, set so close to Manor Park that it feels as though it has an epic, private garden, is a beautiful building with charming, unusual, timeless, comfortable interiors. The library is especially sweet, and the rooms are great. All the staff are friendly; the manager and the waitress are especially welcoming. I enjoyed coming here so much.

"Old world charm"
The_Aitchs, 08 Février 2024

The hotel is in a lovely old building, full of quirks, charm and character. We had 1 night in a standard double room (Number 2) which was compact but perfectly good for our needs. The floor slopes and the floorboards are creaky which just all adds to the old world charm! The bathroom is huge and its light switch is located inside it, over by the bath. Thought I would mention that in case you turn up at night and, like us, can't immediately find it! The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. We slept very well. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Delicious food and wonderful service. All the staff we met were lovely and helpful. We'd stay again.

"Another very enjoyable meal at Flitwick manor."
BletchleyGricer, 24 Janvier 2024

Another visit to Flitwick Manor our favourate hotel and restaurant. We had yet another excellent evening dinner in the restaurant, and have always enjoyed many meals and afternoon teas there. We would like to compliment the Chef and kitchen staff for the high standard of cooking, and Diane who looked after us so well in the restaurant. Kim and her front of house staff welcomed us on our arrival, and It's so nice to see the same people at the front desk all of the time. The hotel is such a friendly and homely place, and is always an absolute pleasure to visit. We held our 50th wedding anniversary party there in 2015, and will be going to see Kim soon, to make arrangements for our 60th wedding anniversary in 2025.

"A real treat."
Adrian B, 22 Janvier 2024

Very impressive location, building and grounds. Staff very friendly and professional, especially Joan on reception; Carol, waitress at breakfast and Judy, breakfast chef. Combination of place and people made for a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

"10 out of 10"
BiscuitBoi, 17 Novembre 2023

We stayed in room 14. This had a lovely warm and cosy conservatory on the side of the room. Absolutely beautiful views very quiet and tranquil. Watching the rabbits and squirrels run around in the ground. Good facilities in the room and nice big bathroom with a shower and bath Coming in the winter. The rooms were nice and warm. After a good night sleep went for breakfast hoping that it was going to be good. Breakfast actually far exceeded my expectations. Was hot and had to leave some because there was so much. Fresh pastries and coffee on the go to The lovely young lady who served us at breakfast couldn't have done enough for us. She was very pleasant and very polite. Thank you for a lovely stay, and we will definitely be back.

"Very, very good and convenient for Bletchley Park."
Cynthia M, 17 Novembre 2023

Wonderful staff, excellent food. Rooms lovely. And last night the staff had sussed it was my birthday (69) and the chef came up with a teeny cake with one candle and the staff presented it to me in the bar after dinner. So thoughtful.

"AVOID"
GoPlaces14292922109, 29 Septembre 2023

Terrible experience and I would avoid if possible. Despite the beautiful building our experience wasn't good. The staff were rude with an even worse manager. Not only were they very short with us for no reason the hotel charged my card despite my booking being paid for up front. When I challenged this I was only met with rudeness asking that I let them look into it. They eventually showed me that they had charged my card but couldn't provide a reason and said I needed to speak to best western when the charge was clearly the hotels. One staff member eventually offered to refund the fraudulent charge but the manager revoked this even though she couldn't provide a reason for the charge. Best western have also not been very helpful as all correspondence has been forwarded to the hotel to resolve as they charged my card - I will not be staying here again. Rooms were old with things not working such as the taps, with the bathroom flooring coming up, another reason to not spend your hard earned money.

"Brilliant staff at a lovely hotel."
Mike B, 25 Septembre 2023

Lovely hotel made special by the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was the most efficient ad pro-active I have had. It felt like staying in a country house rather than a hotel. Food was excellent as well.

"Staff Great, Hotel Awful"
CharliiGeorge, 21 Septembre 2023

Don't waste your money, the rooms are old and tatty and not pleasant at all. Which is a shame as it could be stunning. The first room I was allocated smelt so damp and had mould all round the air conditions unit in the room, I asked to move rooms and the second room was miles better but still very tatty with wallpaper coming away from the wall, dirty mirror and shower head. The mattress has also dipped in the middle is very uncomfortable. The staff however are a credit to the hotel, they are warm, welcoming and extremely friendly. Also the food was delicious, I had steak for dinner and it was stunning. It's such a shame the hotel rooms haven't been looked after more.

"Tired and tatty bedrooms"
129gillb, 21 Septembre 2023

The food was really good, particularly the dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful. However this hotel was badly let down by the bedrooms, which were tired and tatty. Our room was in bad need of redecoration and the carpet needed sorting out as there were several bumps in it, that could cause someone to fall over.

"A stay @ Flitwick Manor before a visit to Bletchley Park. "
CatherineWhitstable, 20 Septembre 2023

We stayed one night Dinner Bed & Breakfast before visiting Bletchley Park as part of a gift experience. It was a really lovely stay. Wonderful staff who are very kind, polite & attentive. Comfortable room and excellent breakfast and dinner. Food was freshly prepared & delicious. We would definitely return. Thank you Flitwick Manor.

"A superb stay"
GrahamS969, 14 Septembre 2023

A truly excellent stay. This is a very traditional hotel where the service and staff attentiveness is exceptional, including being shown to your room by the receptionist. The rooms have lots of character - mine had its own staircase - and the bed was extremely comfortable. There are lovely views of the garden and wildlife and it's very peaceful. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and delicious. I would highly recommend and look forward to staying again soon.

"Great place"
Companion10775721378, 03 Septembre 2023

Lovely hotel, great staff, the four poster bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Room was beautifully clean, not sure why people have said it's shabby, I didn't find that at all and I'm fussy. Very peaceful didnt hear a sound from our room. Didn't eat there as we were at a wedding all day but the breakfast was fantastic. Would definatley be going back just to sleep in that bed again !!!!

"Family gathering"
kg19652023, 28 Août 2023

The staff are very friendly and helpful and I would stay again. The food was very goodJust some of the fixtures looked tired and could do with upgrading. The grounds are very nice and it is relaxing environment.

"Excellent 1 night stay"
barriesillars, 23 Août 2023

Had an excellent 1 night stay for our wedding anniversary. I had booked dinner, bed and breakfast. Prior to our stay I asked if it was possible to have a groundfloor room as my wife has limited mobility and cannot do stairs very well. The hotel replied straight away and secured an appropriate room, even with wet room and ability to park outside the room at the back of the hotel. That's good service! This is a lovely hotel, situated in a secluded part of Flitwick. The drive up to the hotel is impressive. The receptionist was most helpful and actually showed us to our room, which is very rare these days. There was a broken light bulb which she replaced straight away. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was exceptionally good as was breakfast. Food is of a high quality and cooked to a very high standard. Some here have mentioned that the hotel needs updating. But this is an old manor house, so I expect and actually prefer old fashioned furnishings. as long as the room is clean I am happy and it was. So overall an excellent stay, which I can thoroughly recommend.

"A wonderful, relaxed atmosphere"
Christine L, 19 Août 2023

Travelling for work as a single female. Felt safe and the staff are just beyond wonderful. They really look after you and the food is amazing. Rooms are clean and spacious. Not a bad word to say about this hotel. Nice garden area to relax after a long day at work

"Needs improving"
RBurnet, 12 Août 2023

Lovely old building which desperately needs sprucing up. Staff were all very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our dinner. I think breakfast needs a little more variety adding to it, like a better selection of fresh fruit salads.

"Flitwick Manor"
leeburgess88, 02 Août 2023

Nice drive up to the hotel and it's a nice place with very helpful staff. Like most Best Westerns it could do with a professional paint and update. Very helpful and attentive staff throughout our stay.

"Superb stay with dinner, B&B"
mrso815, 29 Juillet 2023

My elderly parents really enjoyed their one night stay here as a gift for my father's 80th birthday. The staff were extremely kind, friendly and helpful and couldn't have done more to make them feel welcome. The hotel and surroundings were beautiful and the food was exceptional.

"Pg tips"
garnerp32023, 13 Juillet 2023

Excellent stay Excellent breakfast Excellent service, please remember this is a 17/18th century Manor House with charm & character ,not a purpose built modern hotel nice & new ! Well worth a stay would go back!

"A One Night Stopover"
Z8793NMlindaa, 04 Juillet 2023

We booked this hotel for a one night stopover as we were visiting Bletchley Park the next day. Right from the off set we were greeted with a very friendly warm welcome. Then taken to our more than adequate rooms. We had dinner booked and the evening meal was outstanding, all three courses. A really comfortable bar for our pre dinner drinks and also to sit in after dinner too. The breakfast in the morning was equally as good. We really could not fault the hotel. All the staff were really friendly and very accommodating. It certainly deserved the 5 stars that we have given it and our friends who were with us have totally agreed em with these comments as well.

"Good two days with friends."
Jane G, 03 Juillet 2023

Staff were fantastic especially Kim and the lovely lady at breakfast. Setting is amazing. Rooms comfy. Breakfast was really good with choices on the buffet and a variety on the menu of well cooked items.

"A lovely old hotel, the bedrooms not so much"
180alisont, 02 Juillet 2023

A wonderful old Manor House in lovely grounds and very cheerful and capable staff in the form of Kim, who is a real asset to the hotel and indeed everyone working here is cheerful and obliging. The issue is that although initial impressions are positive and the bones of the old house are great, the decor in the bedrooms is tired and dingy and in need of refreshing and updating. With some care and attention and investment in redecoration by the owners this could be an outstanding hotel. Fingers crossed.

"Restaurant dinner "
Emma H, 01 Juillet 2023

We had dinner in the restaurant, the food was absolutely outstanding. It was one of the best meals I've had. Recommend the pork dish for definite. Thank you to the chef. ( we had started the dish when we remembered to take a picture)

"The Manor which you would like to be accustomed"
jon_redding_esquire, 09 Février 2023

A grand tree lined and litten drive way sweeps you to the manor. The service is attentive and reserved. The dinning experience is beautiful and breakfast a delight. The music room with fire side chairs and bar area is snug. The rooms are clean. Now for the why not 5/5, the decor is tired, everything else is above satisfactory, all amenities are clean, rooms are well heated (it was winter when I stayed), hot water a plenty, bedding clean and pristine, Tv with HD channels, wi-fi super fast.

"An idyllic stay in a property needing some attention"
nathaliebO6200YS, 28 Janvier 2023

Beautiful listed building. Hotel has a very good restaurant, friendly staff, and an idyllic location. Hotel is in need of updating. Bathroom Supplies need to be replenished. Ours were never topped up in 3 days. Our wardrobe seemed to act as the hotel's linen cupboard, with piles of towels stored in it.

"Premier grade? Not even close."
cbaker789, 24 Janvier 2023

This hotel was once a lovely country house in fine grounds. The location is ideal for many travelers. However, apart from catering, the staff have lost their motivation and merely 'go through the motions'. Not surprising when reviews show that the complaints of the last two years ( Either they are trained to deliver Customer Service or supervision is lacking.

"One overnight stay"
kazz3010, 10 Décembre 2022

Had a one night stay here as we had a wedding to go to in the area Unfortunately we had arrived at 1.30 pm (Check in was at 3 pm) and our room wasn't ready. The hotel did not have a spare room for us to get ready in so we then realised our mistake by not phoning sooner to arrange this Luckily for us, after altering the rooms around, a room was found that we were able to use to get ready for the wedding An amazing old building that we absolutely loved Needs a little TLC in places but is full of charm and character Great views from our bay window Room 5 Couldn't fault the breakfast which was brought to our room in the morning after ordering the previous evening Staff were friendly and helpful Reasonably priced for what you get - Lovely big room Didn't use the shower as the room was cold and it didn't seem to have much water pressure Magnifying mirror in the bathroom Always a plus for me ! Tea and coffee in the room Had a good nights sleep here and would definitely stay here again

"A lovely weekend"
SheilB-72, 27 Novembre 2022

Husband booked a surprise weekend away and we were lucky enough to stay at the Flitwick Manor. The staff were welcoming (even when we got there late because of traffic) the food was amazing. The room was cozy and the bed was far too comfortable! Outstanding place to stay …. We will definitely be back.

"Really nice stay"
WyreForest, 23 Novembre 2022

Three nights whilst visiting family in the area. Nice cosy old hotel. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful, all seemed very happy to be there and this reflected in their attitude towards guests. Breakfasts were excellent. Had one evening meal for four and all the dishes were of a high standard. As stated it is an old property, therefore don't expect modern shiny decor and furniture. Perhaps our room was a little tired but it didn't spoil our stay. Would definitely return to this hotel

"Fantastic 2night midweek stay"
suecox406, 23 Novembre 2022

What a wonderful stay we've had. After an horrific drive from Cornwall we arrived in the dark and: Staff couldn't ask for more, so friendly & helpful. Bar area, cozy fire lit (yes it is a wood effect wood fire) but lovely all the same friendly with good selection of drinks. Restaurant- just loved the ambience linen tablecloths, napkins just all so special. Menu excellent choice, both meat & fish as well as vegetarian. Food again beautifully presented and tasty. Bedroom- double room with separate en suite, everything you could need. Iron & board, hairdryer. Tea & coffee. So many of all the rooms had kept the individual aspects.

"They Made Our Day Perfect"
Darren M, 07 Novembre 2022

We held our Wedding at Flitwick Manor and all I can say is the team were outstanding. We were able to rent the whole hotel for the occasion and nothing was too much trouble. We picked from an amazing menu of food for the day, the buffet in the evening was outstanding and the team were pleasant, helpful and friendly throughout the entire day. We could even add our own touches to the menus and buffets, and food allergies were also catered for. The rooms were beautifully clean and cosy with an amazing ambience and comfortable beds. Everything is in keeping with the period the house was built in, and just added to the excitement of our special day. Having everyone come to breakfast the next day was great as well, there was more than enough food for everybody, and it extended the celebration. It also meant that everyone who had travelled far, could stay overnight without worrying where to stay.

"Did the job!"
PDavid11, 24 Octobre 2022

My wife and I was attending a party local to flitwick Manor so we decided to stay here saves taxis booked direct with them. Arrived at 3 o'clock to be told the room wasn't ready could be upto a 30min wait not a huge issue but wasn't the best welcome. Got to the room and was very disappointed! Very dark with no actual ceiling light only 3 dim bedside lamps. Apparently trying to do makeup in a dark room isn't to easy!!... The shower was very poor needs updating. We got by with a couple of drinks from bar. Was a lovely evening out then we went to bed.. The mattress was terrible so uncomfortable we was very disappointed. The breakfast and staff where very good. This is an old manor house so wasn't expecting brand new equipment/rooms but the Manor needs some serious updating. The grounds where lovely well maintained just shake the house isn't

"Overnight stay with Virgin Experience voucher"
X3030YRlaurag, 18 Octobre 2022

Stayed one night mid week as part of a Virgin Experience voucher combo-ed with a trip to Bletchley Park. We didn't spend that much time at the hotel as we arrived in the evening, but we thoroughly enjoyed our short time there. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We opted for a “light meal” in the bar as it was quite late, there is still a reasonable amount of choice on the bar menu, we had a curry and pizza and the portions were very generous! A nice relaxing way to spend the evening after a long day. We had a standard room which was honestly huge, with a large bed and good sized shower in the en-suite, we slept wonderfully! Breakfast next morning was excellent, a good amount of choice and everything was delicious with high quality ingredients and attentive service, We were quite sad to only spend one night here and would definitely come back if we visit the area again.

"Charming Manor House"
tismike, 11 Octobre 2022

The hotel retains all the charm you would expect from an old Manor house. The staff are excellent. The welcome on reception was warm and friendly and we spent a lovely time there. The food was really good and we had dinner and breakfast. Lovely white tablecloths and real white napkins always the sign of a top hotel. If you like modern , this hotel might not be for you but I like charm of an older building not ruined by modernisation. Definitely a recommendation and on the list for future visits.

"Fabulous hotel"
jillworts, 07 Octobre 2022

In beautiful quiet location especially if travelling with dogs! Food absolutely amazing Staff caring, kind, chatty & very helpful Nothing too much trouble. Room with conservatory that leads directly onto garden is ideal if you have dogs with you

"Cannot understand the 5 scores"
pennysb100, 07 Octobre 2022

We had an overnight stay and had paid for a "Superior" room. The room was dark and grubby. The floor very sloped and the furniture was worn. The bath was chipped, there was mould in the corner if the shower screen and peeling paint. The lights cannot be turned off from the bed and two armchairs had totally collapsed. The bed was very hard and the head was far lower than the foot. We had a reasonable meal and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

"Bletchly Park trip and overnight stay."
crawford664, 19 Septembre 2022

Very comfortable hotel with excellent evening meal and superb full English breakfast. ease of travel to Bletchley Park made this just perfect. The summer drought has left the garden areas looking less green than we remembered but still very nice to wander round

"Friendly, comfortable and great food"
derekaW652OK, 14 Septembre 2022

The receptionist couldn't have been more welcoming. My (single) room, whilst not big, was perfectly adequate with a very comfortable bed. The lounge was ideal and there was a very good range of food available for breakfast, with an excellent Full English. Easy parking. Beautiful surroundings.

"Virgin deal including Bletchley Park"
Tom W, 13 Septembre 2022

Great day at Bletchley Park followed up by excellent nights stay in room 7 at Flitwick Manor. Yep the hotels getting a little tired in places but more than made up for by the location, super food and lovely attentive staff. Slight error on my departure bill rectified very quickly and did not spoil anything.

"Fantastic wedding venue and attentive team"
Kate G, 12 Septembre 2022

Fabulous wedding venue! I was a wedding guest staying for 2 nights at this fantastic venue. The weekend team looking after us were consistently attentive to our every need and keeping the bride and groom fully informed every step of the way.

"Lovely old and quirky hotel "
Jm J, 12 Septembre 2022

Second stay at the hotel, the hotel is situated in a lovely area surrounded by trees and fields and has ample parking. The hotel is very old and quirky so those expecting an ultra modern shiny hotel need not bother. The staff, in particular Eloise who was hardworking excellent, very polite, attentive and kind. Especially paying attention to my partners dietary needs. Having said this the duty manage and other stuff were excellent to. We stayed in room five which is on the first floor and does not have a lift. The room has a separate shower room which is well decorated . There is no air-conditioning except for a few fans so imagine it can get hot during the summer months. The only fault I could find was that the shower although working fine is dated and needs to be replaced as the pipe work is a bit suspect also I would suggest that the taps to the sink need replacing.l again suffering a bit of fatigue albeit they still work. These are minor issues and slightly detract from the overall feel of the shower room. The bedroom itself "The Blue room" is large and spacious and over looks the back of the hotel garden / field area. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The only downside was that the window frames were looking very run down and really could do with repairs and be repainted and the paint was flaking away, I would also suggest the roof guttering be cleaned out and tiles cleaned up as this gave a feeling of being uncared for. Our evening meal was excellent and was based on a three course meal charged at £39 per head without drinks. I won't detail what we ate I suggest looking at the hotel menu and decide for yourself. Breakfast was excellent and there was plenty to choose from. Would I stay here again, yes I would and would recommend people to stay, but please remember this is a very old hotel so in some parts might be difficult to access so the criticisms in other reviews have amongst other things overlooked the hotels age etc. If you want a modern, shiny hotel look elsewhere.

"Bletchley Park and one night at Flitwick Manor Virgin Experience"
martinhollingham, 09 Septembre 2022

Great location, hotel, room, staff and dinner. What more can I say. We loved the whole experience and will be looking to staying again at the hotel. The dinner we had was the best meal we have had out in a long time and the steak was amazing. A big thanks to the chefs.

"Virgin experience flitwick manor and bletchley park"
PFROGGAT, 25 Août 2022

Fully recommend virgin experience trip. Really nice escape, really good food and the staff give a real personal touch. 3 course meal nice and filling. One criticism is the breakfast didn't have sausages for some reason. Then had fab day at bletchley park following day, collect tickets from reception or if you want to go there before they can post it to you. They even called us to ensure we slightly changed meal time to avoid a clash with a large party.

"Flitwick Manor. , great place to stay"
barkas18, 14 Août 2022

All I can say is , what a great hotel the staff are wonderful , been away working for a few months , it's like a second home , I think I've stayed in most rooms and there all first class , as an oldie I gave good old fashioned service lol , girls are great food spot on ,and if you have a problem see Kim she will sort it with the rules of a matron lol , sorry Kim , she told me off a few times , lol , really can't have a negative thing to say , great hotel , grounds are fantastic , staff amazing ( managers give them a pay rise lol ) thanks guys for looking after me xx

"Lovely hotel with extremely accommodating staff"
Anna G, 08 Août 2022

Stayed at the hotel for a wedding nearby. As soon as we arrived the help on reception was great (we had 5 rooms booked), super helpful. The meal in the evening was delicious, really good food and a chef who knows how to cook steak and keep it hot! The waiters and waitresses were again, very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. I will say, it is a listed building, therefore no lift, however there are lovely ground floor rooms across a courtyard. Lovely gardens. I would definitely stay there again.

"Great Hotel"
Pat L, 29 Juillet 2022

The Hotel stay was part of a Virgin Experience with a visit to Bletchley Park the following day. Hotel was very good and the room Executive Double was a large room facing the garden. The furnishings are a little dated but it is an old hotel so to be expected. The Three course evening meal was excellent with a good choice of food & Breakfast in the morning was superb !!

"Characterful Hotel with Excellent Service"
christina175, 26 Juillet 2022

Not a good start as they don't seem to answer emails or have a direct telephone line. Had to go via BW which was unsatisfactory. However on arrival it all got better! Very friendly staff and nice spacious room with a private conservatory area overlooking grounds. The hotel is interestingly quirky and has magnificent curtains everywhere however someone has made over the music room/ bar in an attempt to “modernise” no doubt with terrible results! Lilac & purple chairs with terracotta & gold curtains!! Best to leave well alone unless you know what you are doing with interior design!, Similarly the dining room has been painted grey which didn't do justice to existing curtains. What a shame ...would love to have a go myself! The dining room though is lovely and we did appreciate the traditional white table linen and excellent service (pity a fellow diner wore shorts at dinner! ) There is a limited menu choice which probably should vary a little each day. All very good except for frozen chips, which were a huge disappointment for a meal of this type and price. Filter coffee and truffles were disappointing. Breakfast served outside was lovely although sausages could be better. Vis

"2 night stay"
Michael A, 21 Juillet 2022

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Flitwick Manor. 1 night was an evening meal in the restaurant, breakfast and a visit to Bletchley Park. The second evening we ate in the restaurant again because we'd had such a nice meal the night before. The cooked breakfast was good. The hotel is a little dated but that is because it's an old building so therefore to be expected. We had a nice quiet and clean room, although all the rooms are probably quiet due to the fact the Manor House sits in it's own grounds. All the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay at the Flitwick Manor if we visited the area again. Imagine the rooms have been a bit hot recently during the hot weather without air con (fans are provided) but overall no negatives to offer. Very satisfied

"Our break away."
sandybay738, 20 Juillet 2022

We stayed here for a 3 night short break . From the time we arrived at reception to our departure , We had a lovely time. All the staff we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and well presented . The grounds are private and very quiet. We even saw a Muntjac deer . The added bonus for us is that they are dog friendly. Thank you all for a lovely stay.

"Visit to Bletchley Park with hotel stay"
DanisaSurrey, 09 Juillet 2022

Hotel stay was good, very friendly and welcoming staff throughout. Evening meal was excellent and of good quality and breakfast consisted of continental style plus cooked breakfast. Set in grounds that was good for a walk after dinner. Also had coffee on the terrace before we left. Hotel could do with a bit of painting but this adds to the overall ambiance.

"An English hotel retreat."
SBRAGG1, 28 Juin 2022

Room had a lovely view over the lawn and tasteful dark blue walls to compliment bedding. Clean and a good shower. The rooms, as the hotel are showing a few signs of wear purely due to its age but the decor is good. Reception lady very attentive and showed us to our room. Waitresses young and lacking a few serving requirements but made up for by their politeness and willing to please. Breakfast, full English good but the fruit salad was just hard apple and a few grapes with warm yoghurts. Orange juice watery. Evening meal was excellent with plenty of choice. Gluten free choice excellent. Could even ask for fresh milk for the room for a decent cuppa.

"In need of refurbishment"
WFSSS, 17 Juin 2022

Rooms are tired and dated. Paint peeling off, ring marks on furniture. Cracked tiles in the bathroom, chipped bath. The manager really should wear a shirt instead of a sweatshirt. Amy was the star of the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and when I went to ask her to do certain things she had already done it. The other plus was the food which was delicious. We were the only guests in the dining room. Also, I presume it was Amy who had done a great job with the table decorations.

"Perfect!"
NannoMN, 10 Juin 2022

Only stayed 1 night but it was absolutely great. Room clean & comfortable: dinner & breakfast excellent quality & beautifully presented. Lovely grounds that were quiet & peaceful. Staff pleasant and attentive

"1 night, package with Bletchley Park Code Breaker visit"
Richard E, 27 Mai 2022

1 night, package with voucher for the Bletchley Park Code Breaker visit. We found this via Daily Mail voucher (Virgin I think). We did not know of this hotel but it turned out fine and included bed breakfast, dinner and overnight. I would recommend a stay here, voucher or not.

"Lovely hotel and grounds"
lynne s, 20 Mai 2022

We stayed in the hotel prior to visiting Bletchley park, as part of a package deal. The hotel rooms were comfortable and the bed which is very important to me was so comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful at night. The evening meal was excellent, as was the breakfast next day the only niggle I have is that our breakfast was brought to us and we did not see the waitress again .We would have liked some toast and more tea or coffee ,but did not see any body to .ask. We will definitely stay here again .and would recommend it

"4 poster suite"
alisoncU8520OB, 19 Mai 2022

We had a very spacious suite with a 4 poster bed and everything we needed. The huge bathroom had twin baths, twin basins, loo and shower. Plenty of storage space too. Staff very attentive and helpful, especially Amie. Checking in and out very easy and quick. Breakfast set us up for the day as there was as much as you could eat! All beautifully cooked. Quiet location right next-door to the parish church which used to go with the Manor and the estate - worth a look. The hotel has plenty of parking and beautiful grounds. We spotted squirrels and a muntjac deer while eating breakfast!

"A Good Stay"
W319SXanniew, 24 Avril 2022

Had a really nice couple of nights staying here. Found it very clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly from the receptionist to the girls serving in the restaurant. The food was very good too. Overall nothing to complain about and would definitely stay there again. One last thing is that the grounds are lovely too.

"Stay at country hotel"
Martin M, 23 Avril 2022

Great location so close to hectic Milton Keynes, the hotel was a great oasis., just like a country estate. Food excellent value and no microwave meals all cooked on the premises. The staff were very welcoming and willing to help with all enquiries.

"A gem in the heart of England"
davidshipperbottom, 05 Avril 2022

Beautiful grounds, old world venue, excellent service and good quality food. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble and they always performed their duties with a smile. We are looking forward to our next stay.

"Never again"
Kevin R, 01 Avril 2022

Very poor quality Manor House. Room decor in poor state of repair Bathroom was not cleaned sufficiently - including pubic hair in the bath Breakfast room dominated by a business meeting between Hotel Manager and his boss, too loud and totally inappropriate Plus 3 fire Alarms in the night, which were dismissed as technical faults as we renovate !

"Excellent hotel"
martindavison, 31 Mars 2022

Excellent hotel with all the quirks of staying in an old manor house. The service is impeccable and the food superb. But beware if you have the 3 course evening meal you may not be able to take full advantage of the breakfast..... we certainly could not!!

"Thoroughly Enjoyable"
K9457VSroberts, 29 Mars 2022

Comfortable rooms. Great breakfast. Lounge would benefit from a couple of taller tables better suited for eating from (dogs are allowed in the lounge). Superb grounds and some rooms directly access grounds through French doors

"Nice hotel but vey tired"
brucestewart3, 15 Mars 2022

Good location but a little like me the hotel is passed its best but still presentable. A few items in the room were broken or in a poor state and the room was very poorly lit. The staff however were attentive and friendly and very much on the up side the bar prices were very very reasonable.

"Fabulous staff, amazing food and good accommodation"
Anne R, 10 Mars 2022

Could not have asked for a nicer hotel for our visit to Bletchley Park. Though a little tired looking the hotel was situated in lovely countryside. It was extremely clean, the staff extremely attentive and the food superb. Such a lovely treat

"Quaint hotek"
jenniferbJ840VT, 09 Mars 2022

Hotel seems small overall. In an old building. Our room exceeded out expectations. It had a separate sitting room which we were not expecting. The bathroom was nice and in good condition. Only complaint is the bed was a bit harder than we like.

"Hotel"
am5957722, 06 Mars 2022

Food good ,room clean , service great would recommend afternoon tea , staff very attentive , ground well kept , places to visit close near shop . Places to take a stroll in fields near air field ( old Walden )

"Family dinner at Flitwick Manor."
BletchleyGricer, 06 Mars 2022

Since we first discovered Flitwick Manor in 2016, we have had the pleasure of enjoying overnight stays, family dinners, afternoon teas, and holding our Golden Wedding party there, when we were able to book every room in the hotel for our guests.. They still talk about the lovely weekend that they spent there. Our latest visit was for a family dinner, and as always we were greeted by the front of house staff with their usual warm and friendly manner. In fact it's nice to see the same faces, and to know them by name. Our meals were excellent, our waitresses as usual were wonderful.. Finally I must pay my compliments to the head chef and his kitchen staff for our meal, and for providing such an interesting and enjoyable menu.. I've said it before but I'll say in again, where ever we stay in the U.K., we wish that we could take Flitwick Manor with us.

"March 2022 stay"
GoPlaces795249, 03 Mars 2022

We had an excellent overnight stay at Flitwick Manor. A warm welcome, a great room (Chester suite) and excellent friendly service. The setting is tranquil, with beautiful surroundings which we could not enjoy as weather awful but a log fire in reception and plenty of hot water and efficient radiators in our room. Evening meal and breakfast was excellent and recommend.

"This dog has had its day"
jeancU8391OQ, 02 Mars 2022

Booked hotel after reading some good things about it. I will say afternoon tea, breakfasts and staff were all very good, bed comfortable and lots of hot water, bathroom clean. The room however was very tired looking and in need of a good clean, dust in corners, cobwebs and standard lamp full of dead flies. Main and light meals were not good and seem to be frozen and reheat jobbies, not what you would expect when cost of fish and chips would be £15 for a piece of cod fish you'd pay £2-3 fir four on a supermarket with around eight chips and spoon of peas.

"lovely quite hotel"
O8437TVkeithc, 28 Février 2022

Firstly must say that all and i say all the staff are so polite and very helpful credit to the hotel, room was not the biggest but clean and comfortable great idea hand wash / lotion bottles in bathroom I think the only one constructive item i would say is the chef could do with a special on the menu each evening as if you stayed all week only 4 choices on the menu, food for dinner and breakfast was served hot and very tasty Most definitely be back again was most relaxing really enjoyed our stay

"Hotel with character don't book expecting a Premier inn style"
nellie17, 26 Février 2022

Best western hotels are always a bit different and you need to book with this in mind. An old manor house that has been converted which means many different stair cases and different rooms. Check in was easy and friendly and we were shown to our room. A room with character which in cases could have done with a freshen up of paint etc but it did the job. Bathroom was warm and clean and the bed was clean and we both slept well. Breakfast was served with a smile and was as described and hot. The breakfast room has a lovely outlook. Outside the driveway is full of snowdrops and crocus. Close to a BYOB curry house which good value, I would stay again.

"Second short break at this hotel."
celia56789, 23 Février 2022

We have just returned from our second short break at this hotel. We really enjoy this hotel. We accept it is an old building and in need of some updating, but this adds to the atmosphere and ambiance of the hotel. However, when we arrived late in the evening, we were so disappointed with the room we were given. The room, which was outside of the main hotel, was small, very dark and dingy with very dirty carpet, chair, black mould round the window and a layer of thick dust on most surfaces. We were told it was the manager's room and even had his tie in the wardrobe. This room had never been deep cleaned and was not ready for visitors. When we complained we were given an upgraded room, which did not compare. It was warm, comfortable, well ventilated with a four poster bed and nice soft furnishings. I cannot speak highly enough of the room service staff, who after cleaning the original room , helped us to pack and move our cases to the new room. They were extremely kind and apologetic. The food in the hotel was lovely and of a high quality. Staff are excellent and very friendly, especially the restaurant, lounge and room service staff. We will come again but will ensure that we ask for an upgraded room in the hotel.

"Old doesn't mean classic "
T3472RWjamieh, 20 Février 2022

I want to be clear at the outset, that this review applies whether you are a fan of a classic old fashioned style hotel or the latest in modern luxury. 1. The rooms are incredibly tired, the carpet is filthy everywhere and the thought of walking around without slippers is a big no no. 2. There was also dust everywhere, numerous surfaces not wiped down etc. apparently lamps, mirrors etc. don't need cleaning, which was bad before but is now even worse thanks to covid. There was also a hair band on the floor when we checked in suggesting the rooms are hardly even cleaned. 3. Our room was completely freezing, a fact which the hotel clearly knows because there were TWO electric heaters sitting in the room on our arrival, however these should not be left on whilst you are sleeping and thus you wake up the next morning in a freezing cold room. 4. The shower was totally void of pressure, which is bizarre because the same problem does not effect the sinks. 5. The bathroom in our room was carpeted. I appreciate that this was the norm in a bygone era, but in a hotel in 2022 this is fundamentally unhygienic. The baths were chipped and dirty looking and the sinks were mouldy. 6. I was in a party that booked two identical rooms and the disparity between the rooms was enormous. I strongly suggest you ask to view the room before accepting it as rooms in the same price category vary enormously. 7. The restaurant staff were fine (though I think they must have a menu shortage as it was one between two) and the dining room pleasant if you like this style, however the food was completely mediocre and generally tired. I'd heard good things about it previously so I can only assume that the food is either a) stuck in the past, b) gone down hill or c) this sort of mediocre blandness that satiates the cravings of the hotel's average clientele. I suspect Best Western doesn't care, but the important thing to iterate to potential visitors is that, this is not an old fashioned ‘style' hotel. It is simply old. Why it has 4*s is frankly bizarre and leaves me questioning the value and integrity of the AA hotel star rating system.

"Time traveller hotel"
steve_parker2, 15 Février 2022

Lovely old manor hotel in Bedfordshire. If you are looking for a quite getaway to relax and unwind then look no further. Excellent welcoming staff, the food is superb. Only 19 rooms so it retains that personal touch. Highly recommended. If you are looking for a modern spotless clinical hotel then look elsewhere! This Georgian hotel is indeed just that.

"Brilliant value for money and the perfect weekend retreat."
James F, 13 Février 2022

A fantastic stay - amazing food, surroundings and brilliant and fun staff. The hotel was so warm, cosey and welcoming. Upon arrival we were greeted with an open fire and very welcoming staff. The dinner and breakfast was of such a high standard. The hotel and rooms were lovely and clean. The staff were totally awesome and great fun.

"Outstanding"
rayementon, 07 Février 2022

"Cancelled my reservation at last minute"
carrerakix, 04 Février 2022

I booked & paid for a superior room on their official website, we drove 2 hours to the hotel with my partner. Just a few minutes before arrival they phoned me to say that there were no rooms available to a reservations error. No solution or compensation was offered to me. Thank god I managed to find another hotel (about 20 miles away) using Trip Advisor and I didn't have to sleep in my car, or just drive home again. Pathetic service, non-existent management, no responsibility taken by anyone. Terrible experience.

"A first rate stay."
ianandain, 04 Février 2022

This is an excellent hotel with lovely spacious and clean rooms. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food is of a very high standard, the breakfast is served at the table and the atmosphere throughout the hotel is warm and relaxing.

"Great stay - close to so many things"
KarenandDavid2022, 25 Janvier 2022

Had a really great stay at Flitwick Manor. We visited Bletchley Park and also spent a morning in Woburn and crossed the park. Hotel was warm with lovely open fire, immediately making us feel welcome. Our room was well furnished in a style appropriate to the age of the hotel. Bed was large and comfortable - even though we didn't upgrade to a premium room Cannot fault the evening meal, sadly I didn't have room for the sicky toffee pudding which is one of my favourites. The staff were always polite, helpful and pleasant without being too intrusive. The hotel was very clean with lots of evidence of hand gel and sanitizer to ensure we felt COVID safe. Would love to stay again.

"Excellent food"
D L, 25 Janvier 2022

We stayed one night and had a really good time. The evening meal and breakfast were both delicious. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The room was cold but we solved that when we bled the radiators!

"Nice stay for a short break"
Jm J, 21 Janvier 2022

Lovely hotel, nice location. Our bedroom was on the top floor and was quite spacious, Clean and tidy however, the room was a bit cold, fortunately there was a fan heater which helped. Some parts of the hotel could do with a makeover but guess the age of the hotel is part of its quirks. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant food was very nice. Overall a nice place to stay for a short break.

"Bletchley Park visit."
LordCapel, 16 Janvier 2022

Lovely hotel with excellent staff. Stayed 2 nights which included a visit to Bletchley Park which was a 30 minute drive away. Easy check in on arrival. Our room was ground floor and believed in old stable block, we were able to park our car in the courtyard right next to the room which was handy. Due to my wife fracturing her wrist we had phoned to ask to change our visit to a week later than originally planned, this was done for us without any fuss so most appreciated. We ate both nights in the restaurant and the food was lovely and well presented. Nice little bar area to relax and have a drink. Good check out on the Sunday morning. Well worth a visit and I'd recommend this hotel.

"Disappointing"
Tony-Roys, 18 Décembre 2021

We were looking forward to our stay as a combination of birthday and anniversary treat. The hotel looked great externally in lovely grounds. Inside everything looked worn and tired. The food was cooked well but of mediocre quality due to cost cutting on the ingredients I think. The staff however were great. With some money spent by Best Western this could be a delightful place, but currently it was only ok.

"Fab 80th Birthday CELEBRATION"
charliechan_10, 10 Décembre 2021

Back in 2000 i had my 60th bash here having just been diagnosed with cancer, here i am again 20 years later celebrating my 80th !! what a fabulous job they did. Forty of us sat down to a three course meal, perfectly cooked, they have a very good chef, we had private use of the cocktail bar prior to sitting down and they accommodated some singers for after dinner. It is a fabulous venue set in parkland and the staff and ms Hilditch couldn't do enough for us. I am so very grateful for the wonderful evening they gave us

"Overnight stay before visit to Bletchley Park"
johnoV3369TI, 06 Décembre 2021

A very pleasant and historic country hotel in a quiet location conveniently placed for Woburn and Bletchley Park, the purpose of our visit. Efficient, helpful and friendly check-in, excellent food and good accommodation with plenty of car parking outside. Lots of positives but one or two negatives, though not serious ones i.e the room could have had better, brighter lighting and was slightly chilly when we arrived. Other than that, very good and thus recommended!

"Excellect stay though bill inaccurate."
david p, 28 Novembre 2021

Our stay was very good. The staff were wonderful. Breakfast was tasty. Room was spacious and comfortable, though the TV obscered the mirror, a bit odd. Upon check out we were over charged by £30 for dinner that we were told was included in our package, this payment was refunded though.

"A lovely warm welcome"
Rollingstone1959, 27 Novembre 2021

We stayed for two nights with breakfast and evening meal. On arrival we were shown to our huge double room with en-suite.The bed was an enormous 4 poster. We had a comfortable nights sleep as the hotel was very quiet. The quality of the breakfast and evening meal was particularly good and the staff were excellent. We do intend staying again in the near future.

"Birthday bash"
adb100, 23 Mars 2020

My wife and I have a birthday on consecutive days in March and with some good friends booked two rooms for one night. The hotel is in quiet grounds in a no through road complete with the occational deer and rabbit sharing the peace and quiet. The staff especially Kim and Michelle are excellent, nothing seemed too much trouble. Had an upgrade to a superior double which was room 4 with a vista of the ground and park beyond. Definately would consider another stay when in Bedforshire again.

"An excellent find"
peterandbrenda_10, 17 Mars 2020

We found this hotel as it was dog friendly and close to a location we wanted to visit. From check in to check out, it was a delight! We had a lovely room with a conservatory that led straight to the garden. The room was comfortable and quiet. The restaurant was superb - good size helpings, very good menu and excellent service. We intend to go again.

"Birthday treat"
giezzmo, 14 Mars 2020

Excellent location, service and although we did not eat from the a la carte menu the lounge food was excellently prepared. Room was amazing old fashioned decor in keeping with period building exceptionally clean. Definitely go again.

"Romantic Break...."
Jaygeezer, 02 Mars 2020

Celebrating our first anniversary so was looking for something a bit romantic. Found a great deal through Travelzoo. £149 for a saturday night, superior room, bottle of wine, 2 course dinner, breakfast and late check out. The hotel is set in it's own grounds. The room was dark beyond what I expected, it was more like a suite. The food was plentiful and of a very high quality. Having to go to the bar before dinner and waiting to be seated once you had chosen dinner made us feel special. Only small criticism would be that the duvet and pillows were synthetic which is not to my taste but I slept well. Had a lovely stay and certainly would be looking to stay with Hallmark once again.

"Lovely Hotel"
EwenCameronZ, 02 Mars 2020

We stayed at Flitwick Manor for the Saturday evening - delicious food with friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere. The room was beautifully prepared and comfortable, we would definitely recommend to others.
