    « Good size room »

Really enjoyed our stay here. Good size room with lots of natural light (good block out curtains). Our stay here was very comfortable and very easy. Staff were very accommodating. Room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Large shower with good water pressure.

« Needing maintenance but clean & comfortable »

The website offered various rates and deals for a Queen Deluxe from $165/night to $145/night for a 3 night super saver. By ringing direct we were offered $135/night for 3 nights. The room was substantially as advertised on the website though not nearly so appealing as the subtly lit web photos would indicate. We were given a front room (just 2 or 3 from the main road) possibly as a trade-off for the special rate deal. It was certainly NOT a quiet room! The large sliding glass window rattled noisily whether open or closed and needed to be stopped up with folded tourist brochures. The front door also rattled when the window was open, while water pressure noise intruded when the next door's shower was used. Particularly an issue at 11:30pm. The bathroom had been modernised but the toilet seat was loose and couldn't be tightened by hand and the cistern buttons were difficult to press. Previous attempts to repair the wonky legs on the timber table in the main room had definitely NOT been successful. It was otherwise clean and comfortable and, although we opted not to have our room serviced during our stay, pleasant housekeeping staff always knocked daily to ask if we required anything. the car parking was a little tight and the Restaurant was priced to only appeal to Corporates on expenses or well heeled locals.

Have stayed here on a number of occasions. Rooms are comfortable but style needs to be more modern. Gardens were stunning - offers gym and BBQ area. We did not eat in the restaurant attached to the Motel as it was too expensive and too restrictive

    « Comfortable Bed »

Traveling for work stayed one night. Room was at the back of the property and was lovely. Big bathroom tea and coffee with light milk provided if requested. Time the room felt really homely more than a hotel room. The bed was fantastic, so comfortable made for a good nights sleep. I did not take advantage of the fitness equipment due to time frames but always a plus on my list. Big park down the road to and close to the town centre.

    « Simple but comforyable »

For those of you that travel to Armidale regularly, you will know this is not a cheap motel city. Yes it's overpriced for a typical motel room box, but at least this motel is clean, modern, great hot water pressure and the heating works. Staff are also welcoming and friendly. It's also just a short walk to town. I recommend this, just don't stress about the price.

    « Excellent acconodation »

Great stay. Suggest to discuss plans for each day with the Proprietor John who is knowledge with great ideas as to what activities to do and locations to visit. This may sound odd, but a must is any of the desserts with dinner

    « Very disappointed »

This motel was greatly overpriced at $152 for a small boxy room that was cheap in lots of ways. It was 3 degrees outside and the bathroom had no heating. It had a vented window that couldn't be closed and the exhaust fan came on with the lights to suck in even more cold air. We absolutely froze. The electric jug was too tall to fit under the only available tap ( in the cold bathroom). The door frame in the bathroom was rotting away. There as a big mould patch in the shower screen. The meals in the restaurant were priced like a five star restaurant.....around the $40 mark, The bed looked fine but we kept rolling into the dip in the middle. We truly regretted our choice. And to top it all off, our parking space was impossible to get the car in because if the placement of a huge pot plant!

    « Cosy find »

On a cold winters day it was a rewarding destination. Warm fires in the lounge dining area made it a welcoming experience shared with hosts John and Denise. Clean rooms and all extras including electric blanket. Wold recommend this motel for the ambience??

    « Great spot »

This is in a great spot - not too far from town but quiet enough. There are plenty of car spots and the rooms were clean and well equipped - it's nice to stay somewhere that provides wine glasses in the room! We have stayed a few times and will stay again in the future.

« Home away from home »

A very welcoming family owned and run motel. The fireplaces in the well furnished dining room and separate bar/lounge add a cozy atmosphere. The dinner was first rate as was the breakfast. The room has all the comforts expected with a fully stocked fridge, a comfortable bed and quality furnishings. The motel is well situated but most room are very quiet. The owners are very obliging and make you feel at home. I have stayed there twice with some time in between, and they still remembered my name.

    « What a Find! »

After travelling from Sydney, with the GPS sending us the long way(!), this motel was an excellent find. Feeling very weary when we arrived we wanted somewhere with a restaurant. Our room was clean and tidy and very quiet with a very comfortable bed, but the highlight was the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and would have done any 5 start restaurant in Sydney or Melbourne proud. We had a beautiful dinner that night and an excellent breakfast the next morning. Would most definitely stay here again.

    « Clean and quiet »

Stayed 2 nights and can't complain. Room was clean and tidy and most of all quiet. After travelling all day it was great to get a good nights sleep. Bed was comfy and staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't eat at the restaurant but the room service breakfast was great. A short walk into town for restaurants, pubs and shopping centers.

« Armidale is an interesting place »

Location is good, room was comfortable, parking slots were narrow. Bakery is very close and opens early, and prices are very reasonable. Restaurant on site also. Free wifi, but dropped out all the time.

    « Overnight in Armidale »

This Motel was and older style establishment and easy to find with good reception and guest parking. My room and bathroom was clean and tidy, very hot water, with a small table which was suitable as a desk. Only one power point for the computer, but adequate for my needs.Tea making facilities were good and easy to use. My bed was comfortable and I had a good quite night's sleep. I dined in the restaurant which was very good and suitable selection of wines. I had breakfast next morning consisting of fresh fruit and an omelette. Very good. Overall, highly recommended and I would stay again.

    « Nice enough »

Stayed here for 3 nights for work purposes. Really comfortable bed for a motel. Clean and quiet. Tea & Coffee facilities were a bit lame in the room - my kingdom for a Liptons or Dilmah! WIFI was poor, it couldn't penetrate the brick walls, really annoying as I needed it for work. Breakfast was good (took a couple of nicer teabags back to the room ??).

    « Great motel »

Stayed here 2 nights for a conference across the road. Nice and clean, comfy bed, good bathroom. Easy walk to local pub and shops. Friendly staff. Great value, well worth a look if your are heading to Armidale. Easy to find and parking at your door.

    « Nice friendly motel »

We had a pleasing experience booking with John at this motel for one night - what a nice man! We found the hotel easily and it was quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't try the restaurant as it was closed on a Sunday night. The bed was really good, the facilities fine, and the breakfast ($22 for full breakfast) was wonderful - easily the best of our 4 day trip. The guest laundry would be a boon if we had been staying longer.

    « Lovely room »

Stayed in a King room very spacious and elegant. The room was quiet and combined with a comfy bed a good nights rest was easily achieved. The staff were friendly and Very helpful. The restaurant has a lovely old world charm and the meals were delicious.

    « night away »

Our room was a king room, with plenty of space and the bed was very comfortable and roomy, the room was very clean and had everything you needed. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious and the service was excellent.

    « Caring attentive hosts »

Friendly comforting welcome on our arrival after a tiring day of travel. Checked in late, but we had rung ahead with our dinner order, which was ready and waiting (and delicious by the way). Despite the need for a very early checkout, breakfast was no trouble - they carried it over to my room that night and the room had the facilities (toaster, bar fridge) for me to prepare a quick but nutritious meal the next morning. Large spotless room and a very comfy bed. Good shower and plenty of bath products.

« Great Accomadation, Excellent Hosts »

Great location, rooms are the best we've stayed in a country Motel, Fantastic beds, very clean, good dark rooms and well appointed.Plenty of Tea/Coffee and mini bar in rooms. Bathrooms immaculate and good size. Restaurant serves top quality food & beverages. Has a Guest Laundry facility. Highly recommend Cotswold Gardens to anyone visiting or passing through the Armidale area, The Hosts Denise & John make you feel so welcome and at home.

    « An Overnight stay. »

After working in and staying in Guyra for a few days, it was great to find this Motel in Armidale. I stay in many Motels in my line of business and have stayed in another Motel in Armidale previously. Not worthy of noting that one on T. A. The Cotswold Gardens Motel is, for my requirements all that could be asked for. Very clean, quiet rooms with a well stocked mini fridge and complimentary tea coffee sugar etc. The Bathroom was exceptionally clean with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The rooms are equipped with an iron, ironing board, kettle and toaster, so if you want to make some toast for Breakfast, as I did then everything is there, or you could choose to eat at the Restaurant at the Motel. Wifi reception is very good even in the rooms at the rear of the complex. The beds are so comfortable you don't want to get up. Lastly the owners go out of their way to ensure you have an enjoyable stay and a good night's sleep. 5 Stars.

    « Quiet and comfortable »

We stayed the Christmas week and were impressed by the hospitality of the Cotswolds. Our room was large and at the back of the hotel - very quiet. Comfortable bed and well equipped. No wifi, and we didn't try the restaurant.

    « Well appointed room »

We had a very nice overnight stay here. The location is great - just a 10min walk down the road to the city centre. The room was very clean and tidy and nicely appointed. The queen bed was comfortable. The shower was a good size and the adjustable shower head delivered hot and strong relief to ease tired muscles after a long day of driving. The towels were wonderfully thick and soft. It was very convenient and environmentally friendly to have shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap, body lotion and shaving foam on tap. Would stay here again. Nice and friendly male owner.

« Comfortable well equipped motel »

We stayed for 4 nights in early November in a superior king room while we explored Armidale and the surrounding area. John and Denise, the owners, were excellent hosts and went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming. Our room was large, comfortable and well appointed. If we had one niggle, it would be that it was on the dark side and had a chilly feel to it. In the heat of summer we can see that this may be a positive, in a damp and chilly November we felt this as a negative. We ate in the Manor restaurant (that is part of the motel) one night and had an excellent meal. Breakfast was served in the same restaurant and was quite adequate. What is basically a fairly standard motel (one of many in Armidale) is lifted by the attention and service given by owners John and Denise. This lifts it above the completion which are more standard corporate offerings.

« One night traveller stay »

Motel is lovely, reception is worked by the owners and they are very friendly and helpful. Room is large and bed is ok, sheets and towels good quality. Room had a king size bed and felt like a boutique hotel in the country. food from restaurant is amazing.would definitely stay again .....

    « Excellent choice »

While travelling we stayed overnight at this hotel and it was quiet and clean and most importantly it had EXCELLENT BEDS. The staff were friendly and obliging and we would definitely recommend this as a place to stay. We will definitely stay there again when in the area.

« Great Food and very friendly owners »

Quality sheets and towels which is unusual for a Motel. There is a good wine list and the food was fantastic. In the dinning room there is a huge central fire place, very cosy. There is another fire in the bar area.

    « Welcoming & More »

I overnighted at Cotswold Gardens and enjoyed a very welcome respite from a long day's driving. The hosts were professional, warm and empathetic rather than "over-the-top" with their greeting which was what I needed as I was tired. The room was quiet, elegant and very spacious. Dinner in the motel restaurant was fantastic. The Angus steak delicious and tender, vegetables cooked lightly - everything was wonderful. The hosts were very helpful with recommendations for my ongoing journey. A lovely, restful night.

    « Lovely Friendly Hotel/Motel »

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent dining experience with a comprehensive wine list. Cosy bar and lounge area tastefully decorated. Delicious English style breakfasts. Nicely appointed room. Overall a very pleasant stay.

« Christmas in July at their Restaurant »

The decor is just wonderful and the staff are exceptionally friendly. We had a three course meal and there was plenty of food BUT it was only warm. I feel that it had been pre-plated and much too early. It lacked the real Christmas touch. The pork did not have crackle, there was no stuffing and the meat was all just plonked on top of each other. The pudding was a huge slice and very tasty but there was not enough custard. The tables had some sprinkles of Christmas but it lacked the ooomph. The piano playing was too loud for the room and it was hard to talk over it.
