Best Western Premier Alton-St. Louis Area Hotel

This hotel had OK reviews online. Price is what I expected for the reviews. However, we were disappointed with the following: - Wi-Fi was pretty much useless, cell service in the area was 1-2 bars. - Breakfast was not available 3 out of 5 days due to maintenance. One day they pulled the cold items / pre packaged items early. - Loud patrons next door. Loud in room and hallway, front desk said they addressed it, however, it continued throughout the night. - Broken door knob on closet door - Main door would not close without pushing - When door was not closed all the way, hotel staff pushed door open without knocking - Mattress was very firm, also had small square pillows.

The property is clearly worn out. Bed wasn't bad. Reasonably clean but noisy. They appear to be more interested in the bar and restaurant than the hotel. We would check out other properties nearby rather than book again.

Definitely not a family oriented experience. This hotel chain and more specifically the affiliate in Alton IL should be held accountable for the behavior of guests in their hotel. Best Western should cancel its franchise with this location.

The hotel pool was the main reason I selected this hotel. But the water was so cold that you couldn't enjoy it. The main floor hallway smelled of cigarettes and marijuana. The new restaurant was the highlight. It was busy, but good food and staff worked hard.

This was not a Premier stay or even a good stay. There are two categories of dings this place gets – one, in any hotel this is not acceptable and two, a place calling itself Premier should just not do. First of all, this place needs a thorough deep cleaning – the stained carpets, the bathroom floor, the grout, and the shower had ingrained dirt. There was gross stuff on the information book. Secondly, the peeling paint and plaster needs to be fixed. There should be a modicum of sound proofing between the fitness room and the guest room or perhaps it should not be open 24 hours. The ice machine on one's floor should work. That's basic. The more nitpicky things have to do with them calling themselves “Premier.” Upon arrival I almost tripped over an open plastic container filled with grey paint – the color of the hallway trim, so they are trying to keep up, good, but leaving it right in front of someone's guest room door just isn't thoughtful. I didn't find the beds very comfortable at all, but since that could be subjective, what isn't subjective is the worn furniture, with missing handles. Security cameras in the hallway, okay fine, but not to have big white plug cords dangling down the wall, not only messing up the aesthetic but possibly dangerous if a kid grabs it. What looks like a water feature in the breakfast area is dried up, spotty, and bad looking. There wasn't even any soap in the dispenser in the bathroom by the pool. Some of these are little things that should not be overlooked. On the plus side, breakfast was okay, pretty standard, but I did like that they used real plates and utensils instead of disposable. The fella who cleared our plates the first day was very nice and efficient. BW emails my bill, so I don't need to check out with a person, but when I walked by the front desk to say I was leaving the room, the response was “Okay.” I wasn't asked how I enjoyed my stay, which considering my answer would have been an emphatic, “I didn't,” it probably was for the best. I do not recommend this place.

If your a family who likes to use the pool amenities, skip this hotel during the winter months. There is no hot tub and the indoor wasn't even heated. My husband booked a room online that didn't state “shower only” and we still got just a shower. So if you need a bath for kids check at FD ahead of going into your room. Also, if you have rooms on the left side of the hallway, facing the lounge - the big lights are left on all night and that sleeps through your window. Request to have a room facing the highway!

Nice remodel of existing hotel. Great location if you are visiting friends and relatives in the Alton/Bethalto area.Not a 5 star property but very clean and the staff was very helpful to assist. An Adults only breakfast area would be a great plus!

We've stayed here on three occasions and each time has been great! It is a comfortable, safe property with friendly staff. Pet friendly, with plenty of outdoor space to walk the dogs. A good restaurant on site so you don't even have to leave the hotel. Wonderful indoor pool for the kids as well. The buffet breakfast is several steps above your average continental breakfast. Definitely provides a lot of bang for your buck. Plan to stay again next time we come through the St. Louis area.

Completely non smoking which is important because my husband has copd. Quiet, great customer service, comfortable mattress and great. Pillows. Good handicap parking, great restaurant. Location is close to family and other places.

great breakfast, clean rooms, restaurant close to hotel makes it convenient so that I don't have to drive but good restaurants and amenities also close by just in case. Location is easily accessible as well.

Spend the money, time and gas and go to St. Louis or Edwardsville, IL. The hotel needs lots of updating. The rooms need maintenance in the bathrooms. The mattresses need updated. The whole hotel needs updating.

We stayed here for a wedding. The rooms smelled and were dirty. The beds were uncomfortable. The rooms looked like they started to upgrade and then stopped. The shower door didn't close and leaked. The breakfast was subpar. We booked the wedding block price and found out it was much more than others paid by not going through the wedding price. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you want to chance getting bed bugs. Did I mention the room across the hall from us was bagged off like there had been bed bugs?

I always sleep well at this hotel. Beds are comfy, rooms are clean, not a noisy place. The staff is helpful and friendly. It seems easy to get around from its location, even though it seems be on the outskirts of Alton. It hooks up with nice roads to get you wherever you want to go.

We reserved room and the confirmation had the wrong dates and rates. We requested rooms facing the pool, which some were not. Our rooms AC broke down and we had to change rooms. There was no wakeup call service and no one was reachable at the desk of by phone after 6PM.

Walls are paper thin, you could hear the people in the next room. We had to endure a couple fighting til 3am and then turn their TV up full volume so we could not sleep. A fight in the lobby the next day, police were called. It was insane.

Best Western continues to provide great service at competitive rates. The reservation staff promptly answers the phone making booking rooms easy. As we travel, we have definitely put Best Western at the top of the list!

We decided to do a little staycation for our daughters birthday. Fantastic dinner at Great Rivers Tap Room and the girls loved getting to swim in the pool. The rooms were very nice and clean, and the shower was very nice.

This is a nice hotel with nice amenities. The restaurant is pretty good. The staff is not super friendly, that is something they need to work on. The breakfast is free and they have free coffee all day. The fitness room has a lot of equipment and the pool is indoors and big,

Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. I was always greeted with a smile and asked if I needed help with anything. And very kind to my kids. Even though there was a previous encident that occurred the weekend before we arrive which flooded the rooms and hallways near the pool. We were able to still enjoy the beautiful pool. My kids really enjoyed splashing and swimming.

Cockroaches, drapes falling down, door not properly shutting, large spider spotted, water damage in bathroom, general filth about the property, skylight in pool area broken, staff unresponsive, lied about a manager not being present. Dark and dingy. Needs to be torn down and rebuilt. This property is extremely tired.

Staff was exceptional in handling any questions, issues or concerns we had. We arrived 4 hours early and were allowed to check-in. I would highly recommend this newly remodeled hotel. It has everything you need or want in one place. Conveniently located and close to attractions near Alton/Grafton area. Best Fall Girl trip ever! We will definitely stay there again.

the staff was amazing, friendly, and know how to make a great drinks. Breakfast was good lots of options but the biskey were as hard as a hockey puck- room was clean. looking out to the floor was weird. loved the shower

Reviewed many places before choosing this Best Western. Thought I had probably made a good choice but we were so happy when we saw that it was so very nice. Will definitely return when we are in the area.

Wonderful hotel facility. Room was wonderful, and the breakfast was great. Wonderful breakfast area with a nice selection. Most hotels have you elbow to elbow, however this area had plenty of room and open space for breakfast. I'm back in the area this is our hotel.

Everyone from the front desk staff, breakfast attendants, housekeeping, and maintenance were very welcoming and friendly. Lindsay is a lifesaver! I had a very early flight, and she was able to get me into the last room that was available. I was SO grateful. The front desk also stored my luggage for me prior to my departure.

Staff is excellent and I always sleep very well here - actually better than at home. The staff is friendly without being annoying and always, always pleasant. It's quiet at night when trying to sleep. Rooms are clean, but there are little things as the hotel ages that must be watched. Because of this hotel, I will always look for Best Western first.

This hotel is a very nice 'premier' lodging in Alton IL. We stayed there for 2 nights during our visit to Grafton IL since there are no hotel chains in Grafton. The ton is a good 15 miles drive to Grafton where there are a lot of activities to do. . We really liked the hot breakfast buffet which opens from 6 to 11am. The only thing missing is the hot tub, although they have a small indoor pool. We were expecting a nice dip in the hot tub after a long day hiking at the Pere Marquestte State Park in Grafton. The room and bathroom were very clean and well-maintained. The elevators look old and needs a makeover. The lobby is very spacious and looks very elegant and comfy. Overall this is a very good hotel in the area.

This hotel is a great value with a wonderful staff. The only full-service hotel I know of in Alton. The pub has a great patio to hang out at, and the food was unique and very tasty, pretty much perfect stay!

This hotel is a great value for any travelers I use this hotel mainly for business travel but the food is amazing here and priced right I wish I lived closer to the area so we could eat at this location weekly clean rooms and a friendly welcoming staff tops off my stay every time

Normal internet is unavailable in this hotel, must use the show WIFI service, and chances for receiving calls is minimal if zero at all, was Roaming while at the bar and occasionally in my room. Front desk Blue Hair receptionist could not careless if she tried and don't you dare interrupt her while she's reading her book, she'll stare a hole into your face with the look of irritation.

I was disappointed by the hot tub and the pool not being in working order. The room also had some minor repairs the lamp was broken as well as bathroom drain stoppers. The staff is always exceptional, kind and very accommodating. I also enjoyed the convenience of the on-site restaurant and bar the service was great.

Part of the curtains were pulled off from hanger. No tv cable guide to see channels, one receptacle on the desk lamp did not work, had to ask for more towels because there was only one set of towels for the two of us and seemed like no exhaust fan was in bath room.

I needed a last second room and meeting room and David Knowles made it happen. And made sure I had everything I needed to get my orientation done. Also extended my stay on a last second request,A plus

This was the hotel picked out by the bride and groom. It was a nice and clean hotel. I do wish there was more pillows or larger ones. They had a nice little coffee bar set up in the lobby which was a nice surprise during this crazy time we live in.

This is the best hotel I've ever had the privilege of staying at. The staff is great, but the food and restaurant is even better. The rooms are clean and comfortable with the other hotel amenities quite satisfactory.

We stayed for one night in this hotel. Stayed in room 135 The entire hotel is definitely old and outdated. At a minimum the entire hotel needs to a refresh of paint, rooms thoroughly clean, including the floors (and the corners of the bathroom floors) and clean up the landscaping. Heck, they can't even pull up the weeds growing around the entire building! Room was nasty. Hard telling what is caked into the carpet since its dart in color. I prefer to never stay here again unless all other hotels are full.

I and my husband had used this hotel before when we were in town for family business and we decided to stay here again due to the experience we had last time. We stayed 3 nights. Some highlights: The front desk staff were all responsive, friendly, and professional each and every time I requested anything of them. The bar staff went above and beyond to locate an ingredient for me to make my new go-to cocktail. The maintenance gentleman who assisted me with the broken washer was quick and courteous. Ms. Jordan, who assisted me in getting much needed documents printed, went above and beyond the call of duty when the business center printer wasn't working. It is customer service like this that turns a problem into a customer service win! Thank you for making what was trying to be a horrible day into a great day!

I missed breakfast because I didn't want to get up! The bed was perfect, so comfortable! Room was very clean, nothing out of place. Bathroom was spotless. Huge shower. Water control was confusing but I finally got it. Coffee pods furnished. Every staff member that I encountered was wonderful. Pleasant and smiling. The restaurant has the best cheese burger and fries. I didn't have time to use the pool area but it was very inviting. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here as part of a tour group. Our room was modern and had one of the best bathrooms we have seen in a motel. The only issue was that the A/C blew directly down on the bed. The breakfast buffet was good with plenty of fruit.

We went to Alton to celebrate my birthday! We have stayed at the Best Western before and we're highly impressed! So, we went to Fast Eddie's and where would you stay when visiting Alton, Illinois, Premier Best Western!

Great friendly hotel. Rooms are very clean and very quite! The most important for me is a well cleaned place to stay and we have never been disappointed at this hotel. All the staff is nice and anytime we have asked for something they are always nice and find what we want. Just super people and comfortably place to stay! Thank you! We always stay here when in Alton Ill, usually 2 to 3 times a year.

I've stayed here many times and never had a complaint. Always clean, always quiet, always a great stay. The staff is friendly, helpful and personable from the front desk to the restaurant to other workers. Really nice, warm people. I wish all hotels were like this one. And, the food in the restaurant is reasonably priced and really good.

Check in and out took inordinate amount of time. Desk staff were not friendly, nor accommodating. Closed the pool 3 hours early claiming no clean towels. No personable reason. No edible breakfast. Coffee was cold.

The room was clean and comfortable, everything worked well. The only bad thing was that the message light on the phone kept blinking all night long. When I called down to the desk they just told me it was old technology and they couldn't fix it. I put a towel over it so I could sleep. When you book keep in mind that "atrium view" means you overlook the lobby, and "pool view" means you overlook the pool, no outside windows in these rooms. I didn't notice much noise with the atrium view, but if you are close to the pool I imagine it could be loud if there are many kids swimming. If a Full Hot Breakfast is important to you, you may want to call ahead to be sure. Their website says they are offering it, however they were not. Instead we received a bag of dubious quality food and our trip was after COVID restrictions had been lifted for the entire state, so it makes no sense why they weren't serving what they promised.

Best Western Premier is one of the cleanest, friendliest motels we have ever stayed in. For sure will be back. only thing I would change is a lil softer bed. Id still go back. The Karaoke Bar was lots of fun. Met people from different states, even ran into people from our home town. Isnt far from the Gambling boat either. lol

Great place to stay. We stay 1-2 times a year. It perfect for a night or weekend getaway!! Always clean and outstanding customer service from all!!! Pool, restaurant, lounge, vending machines, close to downtown festivities, breakfast buffet (not right now due to COVID) free shuttle (not right now due to COVID)

I stayed last weekend due to not wanting to drive home after hanging out in Alton. I didn't expect much due to it being a Best Western, but overall was pleasantly surprised. The lobby staff were friendly, the interior updated and the rooms were clean and well appointed. There are only a few negatives, one that the sink faucets are too small and not far enough away from the back wall of the sink. This caused even hand washing to become a splashy mess. And second the room does not come with a makeup mirror, which might seem a bit picky. But it's one of the few places that I have stayed that lacked one. Side note, you could end up with a pool view room. The pool area is loud as to be expected. The windows don't block the sound. I don't think they are open late, but if you plan on resting during the day keep that in mind. Overall I would stay here again.

Everything was GREAT!! I don't stay in hotels very often but the Best Western Premier in Alton-St.Louis was beyond my expectations. The hotel was up to date , clean and everyone I was in contact with was very nice and helpful. I will stay here again!!

Very pleasant stay. Friendly restaurant and bar staff. The shrimp and grits were excellent. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Grab and go breakfast were fine. We would absolutely stay here again.

Alton is my hometown and when I visit with my family, I'll either go the budget route or the top tier, which is now known as the Best Western Premier. I grew up in the area when this location was a Holiday Inn and they still have the “Holidome” architectural design. I also stayed here 5 years ago when the location was under a different name. Now that it's a Best Western, I wasn't sure what to expect. Well it's very nice and modern on the inside. I didn't take any pictures, but just know that you feel like you're in some contemporary, downtown major metro area. My room was on the second floor and faced the pool, but the pool was closed due to Covid. The beds were comfy and the shower worked well. The shower door needed a little nudge to close though. Due to Covid, there wasn't a breakfast buffet, but we were offered hot sandwiches in a grab & go bag. Also granola bars, apples, and yogurt. Overall, if you're looking for a nice location right as you're getting into to town, look no further than here.

We just wanted to get away for a day and then our dog wanted to come and we bought him along so me and the fiance suggested why don't we turn this into our little get away for a day or two and I said sure why not.

We have been staying at this location (used to be a Holiday Inn Holidome) for decades any time we visit Alton. It has had a recent update and looks Amazing. Clean, sharp, modern. All the conveniences. We are really happy with what Best Western has done with it.

I stayed for two nights in August, the room itself was comfortable. However, the cleaning staff did not make an attempt to make up the room at all, did not provide fresh towels or replenish toiletries. The hot breakfast was cancelled and a sad sack breakfast with rotten fruit was substituted. The pool and gym were closed. I believe that this hotel was overpriced since the amenities were not provided. Also, half the rooms over look an interior atrium, so if there is a loud group in the atrium you will hear it in your room.

Love the convenience with having Best Western Rewards Program. Love staying at all of their hotels thusfar. Thank you for having great service, even in the middle of a pandemic. I felt safe and room was immaculate.

No pool access no gym access many problems with the room and staff charged full price but got nothing for it wouldn't not recommend this hotel to anyone not told any of this was happening with hotel being shut down

Great hotel. Very clean. Staff was awesome! Be prepared to pay the same price and not receive any the amenities due to the recent pandemic. The hotel did offer a grab n go breakfast. Very nice hotel, but would have appreciated a discounted rate without the amenties.

I understand that Covid has changed the way everything is functioning but for the services that I paid 2 night stay for a total approx $320 including tax. For breakfast including a grab and go bag of an orange (not ripe), granola bar and an a muffin. I still paid full price for room stay. Our 1st floor ice machine didn't work, had to use the 3rd floor one (line to get ice). The room was overall clean but the restroom was not detail clean on tile floor so concern for overall room details. Staff encountered was nice except a female evening person who was very rude and bossy. Just wish that since the overall stay isn't the same there should have been a small discount.

Hotel exceeded our expectations. Super friendly at the front desk when checking in. The manager, Ross, was very personable, helpful and welcoming! We really enjoyed the bartender, I think her name was Jennifer. Let us check in early and gave us a coupon for a free drink at the bar. Great location to hit all the touristy things in Alton. Would stay here again in a heart beat!

We travled to Alton for the Dead Of Winter coference at the Mineral Springs Hotel/Mall wich was awesome and a great place to shop btw This hotel was close to everything and easy to find, very clean, bed was cofotable, room was clean,breafast was awesome!

We booked this hotel thinking they had a hot tub. After checking in we realized they do not which was a huge disappointment for us. The front desk said it was too costly to repair. I thought it was my error but even on this listing it states whirlpool as an amenity...with that said the hotel was nice. Our room was really great. Loved the decor, the bed was comfy and bathroom was good. It was a bit noisy (2nd floor facing into lobby) but the noise didn't last long and it wasn't loud late at night. I think the noise comes from the pool because it's not totally enclosed. I love that the front desk staff was friendly. Amy, server, in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. I do wish there were more plant based options on the menu. The breakfast was nice, contintental with some hot choices (pancakes, eggs, potatoes and meat). I do like that they offer local meat for meat eaters. I also liked that it was pet friendly. I was worried our pet friendly room might be meh but it was really nice. We had a good experience. If the price was right I would stay here again.

The property is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and extra clean. I loved the atrium. The amenities in the room are extremely nice. I was there for a conference, but I almost felt like I was at home.

The hotel catered our Christmas party, and from the very beginning everyone was very professional, and made planning the party easy. By far it was the best catered food I have ever experienced at a Hotel. The service was exceptional, and the hotel rooms were very nicely appointed.

Hotel was great, indoor heated pool was NOT heated. Initial room didn't have a tub and water temp was luke warm but staff was ATTENTIVE, APOLOGETIC and super helpful to remedy and we ended up switching rooms. Breakfast buffet was great also. Overall: Excellent staff, great hotel.

I stayed with my husband son daughter n law grandson and daughter it was only one night but we all had a blast. The adjoining rooms were a fabulous ideal. The pool was very pleasant and my eight year old daughter and five year old grandson had a blast playing in it... though neither one new how to swim and you'll always have older kids trying to stay in the more shallow end as with any pool they had a great time... we will definitely be staying here again come spring and any other time we travel to the st louis area...

First time and last time here, I have been to two star hotels nicer than this one and if i had not gotten the room through hotwire i would have cancelled after the first night. The beds are very firm and between the AC and the refrigerator noise its not good to sleep in especially if it's raining. At least it's dark. The room i got on the second floor had a step in shower that was a bit small. Internet speeds were 5Mb down and up and you need to sign in daily. And the elevator smells of old oil every time i used it. Breakfast is your typical that you get free at other cheaper hotels but here it was $9 a person. And then they allow pets with some one nextdoor leaving their dog in the room to bark and yelp. You can also hear talking from people in rooms next to yours. So if you want a quiet place to stay go elsewhere.

The Hotel Staff is great. They are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very modern, clean and comfortable. The restaurant has great service and food. I highly recommend the hotel. Fitness room is very nice, although I would like some free weights.

It was an ok stay but the room water leaked all over from shower door not closing correctly. The heat took forever to come on and when it did it got way to hot to fast. Kept having to get up every half hour to change it. Phone did not work and kept hanging up on me but the staff was very nice and we'll mannered.they They did move us to a better room.

I checked in for my stay last Saturday to be greeted with, do you have the $250 cash deposit? The hotel apparently applies a $250 cash deposit for those living within a 25 mile radius (Which I actually do not, but they tried to charge me anyway). What a shady business practice to not fully disclose this info to people making reservations with a credit card and then expect them to give you another $250 upon check in. The hotel was also noisy at night from lobby and pool. On a positive note, we found the free breakfast one of the best we've had!

Old hotel! Thermostat did it's own thing no matter what we set it on. Went to sleep with it on 67 and woke up sweating with it on 74. Ducts clearly could use a cleaning because my allergies were horrible and I had issues breathing. The breakfast along with the restaurant food were both horrible. The shower head was junk and water leaked all over the bathroom floor. The staff was nice, but that is the only thing this hotel has going for it.

My wife & I were back in Alton for my high school reunion, I wanted to stay here to see how the conversion from the Holiday Inn had been handled a few years ago. I had stayed at the HI on a number of occasions over a 30+ year period whenever I returned to town to visit/assist my elderly parents. Well, I gotta tell ya, THIS Best Western property is REALLY NICE! The lobby includes a life-size portrait of Robert Wadlow who was born and lived his entire life in Alton. Oh.. many of you may not be familiar with his name. He is the TALLEST person to ever walk on this earth for whom there is irrefutable evidence. “Check the Guinnes Book of World Records.” I observed that they have “walled off” the indoor swimming pool that is inside the lobby-atrium, so now a swimmer needs to go down to the end of the first floor rooms-hallway to access it; i.e. no problem there. As such... swimmers no longer are traipsing through part of lobby-atrium, leaving water “pool-lets” about as in the former HI days, as I recall. I was impressed with our sleeping room upon entering it. The normal overhead “doorway” light has been replaced in this case with an “artsy” bright-glow light affixed to the wall. It was very classy. The new furnishings in our sleeping room were very nice. There was PLENTY of luggage-holding and “stuff shuffling” space, including a handy shoe-shelf built into the luggage shelf. A comfy reading chair, corner floor lamp, and small round table made for a very restful “sit down” after a long day of driving around town. Oh... and there are PLENTY of power outlets, including at bed-side. The bathroom was really spiffy. I don't recall the former hotel to have had a glass-door shower. My wife was really “WOWed” upon seeing that. And, the large vanity mirror with the “surround-border-lighting” was very nice. Oops! Just one irritating problem with our room. Both my wife & I when going into the beautiful glass-ed in shower discovered... there was not “little shelf” on which to park our soap and shampoo. I didn't appreciate doing the “bend overs” to grab/and/switch my bottles of shower stuff. I could see in the front corner of the shower stall that there was a glue-residue about 4.5 ft from the floor. So... my guess is that there had been a small corner shelf there which has since fallen off the shower walls. I mentioned this to the desk clerk upon our check out. The complimentary breakfast buffet was nice, but the setting in the lobby-atrium was a bit warm'n'muggy on this late September day. We noticed the salt shakers were caked so that no salt would come out. The buffet attendant told us she/they had tried various ways to solve that, but with the humidity, it was a losing battle. I realize that we were encountering a really HOT early autumn period during our stay. Oh... we did not avail ourselves to enjoy the two complimentary bar drinks that had been offered up with our check-in packet. I dunno, maybe those are routine, or my BW Rewards card was the trigger. Other than the breakfast, we did not dine at the hotel, so I have no comment regarding their dining offerings. All-in-All I was VERY impressed with this BW makeover of the previous hotel. I would have rated the “new” hotel with a “5”... but doggone it, that shower experience made me go with a “4.”:

There was an smell in the hallway and in our room like animal had been there. The breakfast buffet food was barely warm. The chicken wings had feathers on them and the food was barely warm. My grandson called in the order and went down stairs to pick up his food; after waiting on the order the food was barely warm.

The rooms were clean, the breakfast was above the normal. Wide selection, hot, decent servers. There was a pool of water next to the pool with slippery green mold growing in it. There was no sign marking it. The hot tub was out of service the entire time. The elevator went out the morning we were leaving and were forced to haul everything down 4 flights of steps. When speaking to the front desk the girl went away to get her manager and came back with a card claiming he wasn't there till Tuesday. I then asked not there or didn't want to talk to me and was met with a smile. The bar was fully stocked with beer on tap from all over though.

Best western premier in Alton had significant black mold around the air vents in at least 5 rooms on 3 floors other than that it was a pleasant stay rooms were mostly clean and had a nice bar. The snack and supply shop next to reception was handy

This establishment is one of the cleanest, friendliest Hotels I have stayed at in a long time. I stay here every three months and it is so nice to see the same familiar faces each time I return, from the front line desk clerk Ross to breakfast attendant Candy who is friendly without being obnoxious. I look forward to seeing these friendly faces each time I return. I highly recommend that if you are ever in the Alton Il area that you check this Hotel out for yourself, you will not be disappointed with the accomodations or service.

Did a girls bday weekend trip. 3 rd time I've stayed here and it's always a good time. They offer Free shuttle to Fast Eddies and karaoke at hotel bar. Breakfast is good, especially the pancakes! Hot tub was out of service this time :( so didnt get to enjoy that. Hotel staff will go out of their way to help you with anything.

I attended a conference at this location this past week and spent 3 nights. Upon walking in the doors I immediately was hit with a blast of hot air. The lobby was not air conditioned and it was 96 outside!!! Our vendors were located in the lobby as well as our registration desk and meals. I checked in and went to my room and it too was hot. I adjusted the A/C and left for a meeting. 2 hours later, I went back to my room to find it was still HOT! like 78 degrees hot. I called the desk and someone came up. I was assigned a new room and moved my items there. I left to attend another meeting and came back and was unable to get in my room. The front desk gave me new keys and they worked. I left again and upon returning to my room around 10pm, I was unable to get in. I again went to the front desk and got a new set. They didn't work. Got another set. They didn't work. The Clerk came down with the master key and it didn't work. She told me it was because the deadbolt was locked....but yet I was the only one in my room and I had left the room so it was nearly impossible for the deadbolt to be locked. She told me she could call the maintenance man in or she could move me to another room which would have caused me to sleep in the clothes I had on, not brush my teeth etc...because all my stuff would still be locked in my room. I opted for the maintenance man. At 11:15pm the maintenance man arrived to put new batteries in the door lock. I was then able to get in my room. Neither issue was big but when you experience 2 issues in 2 different rooms you have to wonder just how many issues this hotel has. Well I found out. Another attendee found a bloody tampon under her sink and another under the wire shelf. Another had a broken toilet seat, and another had A/C issues, some had pest issues. These are only issues that I know about. I would suggest not eating the breakfast buffet or if you do select safe items such as yogurt, cereal or pancakes. The flies were HORRIBLE! They were touching everything and even found them under the lids of the hot food. The front desk was flooded with calls of people complaining about the rooms and I have to say they held it together all while sweating to death because of the lack of A/C.

Reserved a pool side room, but no access to pool. They told us there was a party a few months ago, and people were unruly, so they didn't allow food or beverages of any kind in the pool area. Maybe they should control them, not restrict a family that gets together from all over the country, from having a couple of cocktails while the kids swim. The Hot tub was out of order. Picture in bathroom was moldy, they have the rest of room updated. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was good. Ice machine was broken on 1st floor. We had a reservation for 20 in the bar, and there was a wedding reception going on, on a Saturday night, only one bartender on staff. At breakfast Sunday morning there were 6 people on staff, looked like two behind the bar? Staff was friendly. My recommendation would be to for corporate to review management. At peak times they should have 2 people dedicated to check in.

front desk agent was not at all friendly. room was small and could use updating. the actual would not go below 72. the toilet seat was broken.the tub faucet was very loose and about to fall off. when these items were reported I was told there were no maintenance people available so I would have to move to another room, and we were already unpacked and ready for bed.I also had to call the front desk on my cell because the room phone did not work. this property is not up to the standards of other premiers that we have stayed in. at best I would rate it as a very low plus. I think best western should re iew their rating of this property

Very nice and comfortable room with great king bed and walk in shower. The room was clean and the breakfast buffet was great with a server bringing drinks. The location close to a major road was still quiet. Easy to get in and park even though they were full

The customer service was great but the hotel needed some maintenance improvements. The phones in the rooms weren't working as well as the ice machine at end of hall and the hot tub is down as well. Our bathroom ceiling had a pretty bad leak that we ended up having to empty our trash can several times that we used as a bucket to catch water through the night. We brought the issue to the receptionists attention an she said nothing could be down because it's from the room above air conditioning unit an stated they had this issue in several rooms but apologized for inconvenience. Hotel needs several maintenance issues fixed if they are wanting their customers to pay full price for their stays with the company in future. The staff was wonderful an the hotel is very up to date an clean!

Great staff. They answered all questions. I just wish they had better eggs and add grits to the morning breakfast. But besides that it was a great stay. I woul recommend this hotel. My family were very happy as well. And we all enjoyed the pool.

Best full-service hotel outside of downtown St. Louis! The service was friendly and responsive. The rooms were comfortable and newly renovated. Their restaurant and bar had great food especially the steaks and local beers on tap. Although the location was outside of St. Louis, the price made it affordable and the distance was tolerable. The best part of it was that the hotel was full-service so we can get room service and enjoy food and drinks without leaving the hotel. The best part of it was the heated in-door swimming pool.

great room, slept wonderfully, loved the shower. Toilet seat was not up to par with the rest of room. It was cheap and wobbly. Ask for parking lot side if noise from lobby will bother you. Breakfast was good, didn;t have the made to order omelets on weekend that were advertised

This is a really nice hotel in suburban st. louis. We have a late check in but the staff was totally nice and accommodating. The rooms were large and newly renovated. The parking lot was well lit and in view of the front desk, which was good because we were travelling with some equipment. There was complimentary breakfast in the morning which I admittedly did not take advantage of, but my travelling companions said was great. We also stopped and saw the Robert Wadlow statue nearby. We've stayed here before and will do it again when we're in STL.

We recently stayed here after my mother in law passed away for her services. Tristan was nice enough to give us a bereavement rate for all the rooms. The hotel is clean and newly renovated. The entire staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was terrific. Thanks to everyone!

This is my second time staying in this hotel and nothing has changed the staff is still awesome the place still looks great,and the rooms still look good and comfortable it felt like i was at home for a moment. the beds were comfortable and clean the bathroom were clean it had good hot water for shower time. my floor was quiet so i got a good night of sleep. I went down to the pool and had a comfortable and fun swim time. they also have a nice restaurant downstairs which i found to be delicious. i enjoyed my stay here and i will come back.

Nice hotel. Clean rooms. The only issue we had was the breakfast was a let down. Food was Good when it was available. They could not keep up with demand. No plates, silverware, coffee. Should have been better prepared!

I stayed at this hotel for approximately two months and I felt like I was being spoiled. The breakfast was wonderful. Had laundry service so that I did not have to go out to have my clothes washed for work. Addressed any questions I had. I cannot brag enough about this hotel.

I stayed at the Best Western Premier Alton-St. Louis for one night. It was an excellent experience. There was plenty of parking and in good area of town. The rooms were spacious and sparkling clean. They had very comfortable pillows and soft beds. I slept like a baby! There were some really nice touches like a multi-cable adapter for all different devices, iPhone compatible stereo/ radio combo, and a really nice flat screen tv. The shower was new with a great shower pressure as well and killer vanity lighting around the mirror. Also the breakfast we SO good. They had pancakes, made to order omelettes, oatmeal, bacon, fruit, yogurt, and even really great BLOODY MARYS. Lastly, the staff was so nice and accommodating. Overall it was honestly an excellent experience and I will definitely be back!

For a budget hotel, this place was so prime. Room was more spacious than I am used to, and included a desk / workspace which I made use of. Beds and bathrooms were clean, and complimentary breakfast was once again better than usual. Will be back.

I love St Lewis!!! The whole town smelt like beer, it was heaven. I had a great couple of days with my family made all the better by staying in this wonderful hotel. We were greeted by a very nice lady at the desk who was extremely accommodating. We were also impressed by an immaculately clean room with cozy beds. I can definitely recommend this hotel! This Best Western in Saint Louis is one of the better ones I have stayed at. Obviously the best Western among the better hotels in the low price range, but this one was particularly good as there was lots of room and a workspace!

The rooms were quite comfortable with large beds, two in each room which was good because I was here with a work colleague. Quite a bit of space in the room which was nice as we had lots of work here with us. Friendly staff and good facilities is all you really need. Will definitely stay again

I travel a lot for business and this is easily one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms were beautiful and the foyer was immaculate and cavernous as you walk in. The staff were lovely and they even had an omelet bar for breakfast!

I had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Premier in Alton! This place had everything! A great bar/restaurant inside the hotel, comfy and cozy rooms/beds, and considering my band and I had a cargo van/trailer to haul around, the parking was easily accessible and took a load of stress off of our backs for the night. We didn't have much time to spend at this hotel, but luckily I woke up in time for breakfast, which was awesome! The food was great and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. You'll walk into a huge lobby with super high ceilings—it gives the place a fantastic open feeling. This same high-ceiling room also contains the fantastic pool that just had to be used! The room was clean, comfortable, with great pillows and sheets, clean bathroom with many towels and a highly adjustable shower head. Coffee maker in the room in addition to free coffee in the lobby all day and night. Just a quick jaunt across the lobby from the super-speedy elevators was the Great Rivers Tavern & Grill, which had really affordable options for what you'd expect in a hotel restaurant. Good gym. Friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay!

Very disappointed. Went for a relaxing overnight stay since it is cold out with 5 other moms and our Kids. Had intentions of enjoying the pool area with the adults while the kids swam. We got told we couldn't have ANY food or drink in the pool area. Not by one, but by about 6 different workers within about 5 min timeframe. We had to round up 13 kids out of the pool and leave to go to the lobby to enjoy snacks and beverages. When we did go back to pool area, several workers would come in to make sure we didn't have anything other than our swim stuff. When we hung out in the lobby area, we were watched by the front desk staff the entire time. In all the years of traveling, I have never endured treatment like this. Nor have i ever been to a hotel where we couldn't even have a bottle of water by the pool. I am very disappointed spending $130+ times 5 rooms and not being able to enjoy it fully and to enjoy what we came to do. No one told us this wasn't allowed beforehand or when we checked in. So patrons, beware of their rules before you spend your hard earned money in this establishment. However, I will say the rooms were comfortable, it was very clean, and updated. If you're just there to sleep, it is a nice place, but don't plan on enjoying anything else!

We arrived really late but the woman behind the counter was nice and enthusiastic and she got us into our room quickly. The bed was soo comfortable I had the best night sleep I'd had in a while. The fitness center was exactly what you wanted and breakfast was soo good it canceled out my workout! Would def stay here again.

Very nice Hotel, reasonably priced. Great breakfast buffet. Beds very comfortable. Nice centralized location, close to St Louis. Grill and Bar on site were very nice and had lots of choices for drinks and food. Housekeeping did miss one day of cleaning our room out of our 3 night stay. Must of missed our room....

Beautiful!!! Original design. Comfortable, great staff. They made me feel very comfortable . Clean,spacious and comfortable rooms with fridge and Microwave oven. Plenty of USB ports (which is not a minor issue today). The continental breakfast is great. Nice swimming pool and jacuzzi. And one more time, all people are very kind.

The Best Western in Alton was everything I hoped it would be. The staff was super nice, the room was big and comfortable, the complimentary breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant is top notch. Also, the bed was amazing and the front desk was very helpful and let me check out 2 hours late. I will definitely be staying here again if I head back to the area.

I very much enjoyed my recent stay for business. Everyone was very nice! Since I booked through the hotel, I received breakfast vouchers, and breakfast was great! I went to the restaurant one night and it was very good as well. Will come back!

OMG - I submitted an incorrect review earlier. I loved this hotel. I was in a hurry and marked everything incorrectly. This hotel is convenient to travel from. The staff at both the bar/restaurant and the front desk are friendly and very helpful. The rooms comfortable and a great value. We liked it so much when we visited in April that we came back in October.

I had a wonderful stay at the Best Western in Alton after a long day of work and travel. They bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I loved that they had a kuerig machine for coffee! Definitely hard to find good hotel room coffee. Breakfast at the hotel was pleasant and the restaurant/bar there is very delicious and fun. Would definitely stay again.

Very clean and spacious with inviting modern decor. Very comfortable bed with quality pillows. Restaurant was very nice. Efficient and clean fitness area. All around great stay. I enjoyed the Kurig coffee in our room as opposed to those crappy packets.

I think this hotel has it all....great service, comfortable rooms, good breakfast. The service is top notch. I can tell that it starts with management and they value their stay. I would recommend staying here and would come back again.

I was so shocked when I walked I to see such a beautiful hotel. Hotel and Rooms were exceptionally clean. Beds very comfortable and service was great. Mary at the front desk was super. Candy our breakfast server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.

We stayed here this weekend with our baseball team. Hotel was clean and Rooms were updated nicely. Staff was friendly and attentive. Hotel was extremely busy with two wedding parties on Sat night. Staff handled it well and it was nice having a bar in the lobby area. Not a huge selection for breakfast on the buffet but decent. We would definitely stay here again. It is by far the “Best” Best Western we have stayed at. Keep it up Alton, we will be back !!

We loved our stay here. Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast! We definitely plan to stay again! Pricing was great too. We stayed for a weekend. We try to do a haunted tour every year in Alton so we will definitely be back to stay!

I had an absolutely lovely stay here. Arrived late with my band and was immediately stoked on the huge beautiful lobby. The lobby has a huge pretty fountain too, I'd swim in it if that were allowed. Our room was right down the hall, which was super convenient. The room was very nice! The beds were stunningly comfortable, I slept amazingly. Other features include solid WiFi, and a shower you'll want to stay in forever. After a great night's sleep, and a shower about the length of a law and order episode, I grabbed one of the breakfast vouchers provided (yessssss) and went and ate way more than I need. I just had a classic eggs/bacon/toast/coffee breakfast, but they were playin the hits very well at this joint, DELICIOUS. All in all, fabulous time here. Definitely recommend!

This is an older property that has been renovated nicely. The pool is in the lobby part of building so it's very humid in lobby area. Also 1/2 the rooms face inside to the lobby or pool. The outside rooms got really hot from the sun, but AC worked well to cool it down. Overall I liked the hotel, felt secure, staff were good. Room is very comfortable.

I stayed here and the service and staff were awesome. Not to mention the breakfast in the morning was just what I needed to get my day stared. My servers name was Candy. If you are ever in the area make sure you stay here. The rooms were new, nice and clean.

Wedding party offered rooms at this hotel where they also held the reception. I don't know when it was built but it looks and feels very new and clean. We didn't book a room, but attended the reception. Many (if not all) rooms look onto an interior atrium which I included a photo of. Within the atrium is a large area to sit and chat or work, business center, welcome center, check-in... plus a pool hidden behind a partial wall. Everything looks lovely and up to date although the smell of pool chlorine in the atrium is very strong. I have no idea what would be involved in changing it to a salt water pool, but it would eliminate that odor. That was the only negative of this whole experience; it was otherwise lovely and to be clear, the chlorine is only apparent when you enter the atrium - not at all in the rooms for the reception. A wonderful choice for a wedding reception. Food was good although I have no idea whether it was inside vs. outside catering. Staff was attentive.

Very nice hotel, but the room I got smelled like old vomit?? And despite having the ac on 60 it was 85+ in the room most of the day. This wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't also hot as heck outside. Room was clean and the shower was gorgeous, and the floor was quiet overall. Overall nice, just two bad parts that ruined the stay.

"Premier" def describes this best western the best! The rooms were large, couture and very much modern! The beds were super comfortable and breakfast was buffet style. The restaurant in the hotel was amazing,l! The best part about my stay was that the manager allowed me to check in early he heard me mention I'd been driving 14hrs, and this is the kind of customer service I appreciate in my travels. Was only there for business, but very nice and clean from what I saw. Personally, I have stayed there before and enjoyed the pool and buffet. Would recommend this to out of town travelers for personal or business needs.

My stay at the this Best Western Premier was just what I needed after a long day on the road from Nashville with my crew. The hospitality was spot on and front desk was extremely kind and courteous upon our midnight check in. We were very pleased and comfortable in our rooms and felt safe given the location of the hotel. Even with the hotel being very busy this night they had ample parking and there were zero disruptions..it's an extremely quite hotel! Our rooms had two doubles in each and both beds even had their own rooms! The rooms offered microwave, refrigerator and other kitchen-like accoutrements. Location of hotel offered many nice places to venue to and eat nearby. Breakfast fantastic with a very well rounded men). I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food and coffee were! Housekeeping were very courteous...extremely nice folks and really went out of their way to help us with all of our requests. This is easily the 5th or 6th time I've stayed here and I'm certain it won't be the last. If you're in the area or plan on being in the area and want a great hotel this one is definitely worth staying at!

This was a really nice a spacious hotel on a nice a quiet street Rooms were nice and clean. The hotel also had a really nice Bar and Grill and the breakfast was really good with pancakes, fruit and even an omelette station! Definitely would stay here again!

This is hands down the best hotel in the region. I think it is especially great if you have business in Saint Louis but are looking for something outside of the city. It is a superb value and conveniently located. The hotel itself was thoroughly remodeled sometime in the last couple years and has all the modern touches you want - you won't be searching behind furniture for charging stations and outlets for your devices. The level of cleanliness is unsurpassable and the room has the extras a girl wants - big workspace, a vanity/magnifying mirror in the bathroom along with a powerful hairdryer. This time around I ate in the pub as I was in a time crunch and had a great thin crust pizza. Also: FYI - there is a pool and fitness center and the breakfast is above average.

Super clean rooms, clean hotel, great free breakfast. Seriously one of the nicest places we have stayed while on the road. Had a show in St. Louis that night and had never heard of Alton until we booked this place for our stay. Cant stress enough how nice it was and its only about 35 min from St. Louis. Would suggest to anyone

Very clean hotel. Rooms are spacious and up to date. The shower was huge! Very comfortable beds and the pillows were very fluffy and pleasant to sleep on. Added bonus is they have a pool with a hot tub and whirl pool. My kids had a blast swimming! Looking forward to coming back and stay here again.

Best Western Premier Alton, IL The hotel has a very spacious lobby, so when you walk in you know this is a good place to stay. I had no problem checking in and was able to go right up to my room. The room it's self was very spacious and the king size bed was very comfortable. They have a very large pool, so it was really easy to do laps in it. Plus the hot tub was very nice. They have a very nice restaurant on the premises with good food and good prices. In the morning they have a fantastic breakfast buffet…they have everything you want to start the day off. I forgot my razor and they were able to give me one free of charge to hold me over…all in all a great stay!!

Loved this place. Huge lobby that is nice for hanging out and getting some work done--and free coffee! Always love when hotels have a little mini mart in the lobby too. They had a great selection and didn't gouge you for a soda and candy bar. Great if you're up late like me. The room was very comfortable and they had a great cable service to watch ESPN on. Everything I needed.

This hotel was very spacious and the staff was very friendly. The rooms had a microwave and fridge and the bed was super comfortable and had 4 pillows. I love it when hotels provide extra pillows! There was a huge lobby area for visiting with company. They also had a nice restaurant located directly in the hotel for your convenience. I look forward to staying here next time I visit our countries most haunted city!

This is one of the best Best Westerns I've stayed at. You walk in and it surprises you with its new, modern look. The room was clean, with a big tv and working AC/heat. The bathroom was super clean and the bed comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and the breakfast was good too. They have biscuits and gravy which is one of my all time favorite breakfast foods. Oh and there's lots of plug-ins for all your electronics. There's no way you can't charge every device you're carrying with you all at the same time. This is a great Best Western and if you find yourself in the St. Louis/Alton area you can't go wrong staying here. Recommend!

I like this hotel as soon as I walked in I was taken back on how cool the lobby looks. It was large with a warm feeling to it.The staff there was very nice, we had a problem with our reservation the lady at the counter helped us with a smile on her face. the rooms there are very modern and cool looking. The beds were soft and there is a nice couch to sit on while you eat or watch TV. The pool area was big and relaxing if you bring your family the pool area is the place to hang out. They have a restaurant there that serves a delicious breakfast . I enjoyed my stay I would for sure stay here again.

My wife and I recently stayed for an overnight getaway. As we checked into our room, everything was nice. The lobby area was very large and modern but the overwhelming noise coming from the pool area dominated the environment. Not being uptight and understanding that this is normal in a large pool setting, we were not phased by this. After an evening out we returned to the our room for a quiet night. That was not to happen as the sliding glass door that joined our room to the lobby was not able to block the noise of a group of young adults sitting directly outside of it. At approximately 11:30 pm I decided to go out and ask them to move, which they did without hesitation, not aware that our room was next to the tables. Still no big deal. During this whole time kids of various ages ran through the lobby and the hallway laughing and screaming. At 2:30 I had enough and had to call the front desk to ask if they would do something. The clerk said she would take care of it, and after about 30 minutes things were finally quiet. I understand kids at a hotel are having fun but why didn't the night manager put a stop to this earlier? The echo of the laughter and yelling coming from the lobby was loud enough to be heard through the sliding door of our room, the front desk is in the lobby... the next morning when I complained to the front desk, she apologized and said she had not had anything passed on from the previous shift. We will not be back...

The Best Western Premier Alton-St. Louis Area Hotel is a spacious modern hotel with everything you need in one place! This was my second stay at this hotel, and I'd say it was even better than the first! The staff at the desk were courteous and welcoming. Check-in was a breeze. Really all of the staff I encountered during our stay were top notch. The guys at the desk made a point to let us know everything the hotel had to offer. This included free w-fi, a pool/hot tub, fitness center, and a bar/ restaurant bar on-site. They even hooked us up with some drink coupons for the bar! The bar/ restaurant was comfortable and tasty, Plenty of drink options and a great menu. We opted for the steak special. T-Bones and baked potatoes for less than $20. There's plenty of seating, but there's also a large common area just outside in the lobby for relaxing or holding an informal meeting. The rooms were very clean and roomy, with large picture windows overlooking the lobby. Beds were very comfortable. The shower was a hot with great water pressure. Wi-fi worked well. Overall, better than most. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was above average as well. Hot food including eggs, bacon, and sausage. Oatmeal, fruit, and other healthier options as well. We had planned to venture out during our overnight, but the The Best Western Premier Alton-St. Louis Area Hotel offered everything we needed and more. Great rooms, great staff, great food. Highly recommended.

Very clean..friendly..great service..very nice breakfast. I didn't have any issues with the internet. Our bathroom ceiling leaked but they were very prompt in moving us to another room..They must rent out their pool for local parties for kids for it was very kid noisy and as I looked out my window approximately 35 kids or so swimming. But over all a nice place yo stay.

Newly renovated hotel that has all the charm of a 5 star Hotel. The staff was very helpful and the place was well equipped. The beds were the most comfortable than I had ever slept on. Great lounge area for relaxing and visiting with friends. Lot's of things to do in the Alton/St.Louis area. Was very well treated and recognized as a Platinum Club Member and am very thankful for that.

My husband and I wanted a weekend getaway and got an email from Best Western that we had enough points for a free night. The Premier Hotel was great. Pleasant staff, nice room, good restaurant and bar, and a very upscale breakfast area with table service for coffee.

Newly remodeled, full-service hotel. Rooms are nice and fresh. Restaurant has good food and craft beer. Breakfast could be better quality, but includes semi-fresh fruit and hot food. The local bacon is my favorite when it is prepared crispy.

Just stayed at the beautiful Best Western Premier, Alton IL in the St. Louis area. Plenty of parking, well-lit. Check-in was quick and the front desk staff were friendly. Clean rooms with lots of space and comfortable beds; microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker; couch, flat screen tv. Breakfast bar was outstanding! Candy met me with a smile and shared information about the area. The bar had numerous choices, even an option of a fresh omelet made expertly by Jonathan. Great bar and grill attached to it – food was tasty. Plenty of space in the lobby area for meeting with friends, and beautiful additional area with seats and a fireplace. Didn't use the pool, but the area was clean and welcoming. Very nice hotel and a wonderful staff to match!

Very nice, impressive looking hotel. About 35 minutes from the heart of downtown St. Louis but I think it's worth it. I checked in late at night and the staff was very accommodating. Rooms include a Keurig machine which definitely made the mornings easier. The desk was real nice and big which is a huge plus for me. I don't know if it was just my room but it took a little while for the shower to get hot, but maybe i just need to calm down and be more patient. Truly one of the nicer hotels I've stayed at in the past couple years. Hopefully I'll be able to stay here next time I'm in St. Louis.

This is one of the best Best Westerns I've stayed at. You walk in and it surprises you with its new, modern look. The room was clean, with a big tv and working AC/heat. The bathroom was super clean and the bed comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and the breakfast was good too, it had your normal assortment of food and none of it was bad. Oh and there's lots of plug-ins for all your electronics. There's no way you can't charge every device you're carrying with you all at the same time. Great time. Recommend!

Very quiet and safe hotel. Housekeeping was well trained and very helpful. Strongly recommend if you need a room in the Alton area. Room very clean and well appointed. Elevators could use a little attention for condition of interior.

Wonderful location as well as hotel. I've stayed at many BW locations and this was one of the best. I would highly recommend if you are anywhere around this location on business or pleasure that you consider this hotel.

WHAT A TREAT! The usual looking midwestern hotel from the street turns into a totally different story upon entry! Recently given a makeover, the rooms are well laid out with incredible beds, linens, modern bathroom...all very clean and well maintained! Also, the breakfast is top notch!

Horrible service, terrible amenities....the staff could care LESS, the ac/heater wouldn't work properly, the hallway to the pool area is a lawsuit waiting to happen, the pool area itself is quite dangerous & slippery...I do NOT recommend ANYONE to stay @ this hotel. We are extremely disappointed.

Beautiful hotel. We were there for our nieces wedding. Everything was lovely and it was So nice not to have to drive afterwards. We loved the view of the atrium from our room altho the pool area rooms were noisy, which was not the hotels fault. Having the restaurant/lounge connected made things so much more convenient. The group rate price was affordable and parking was plentiful. The beds were comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bathtub/shower could use some anti-slip assistance. My husband fell getting out but he was alright. A towel bar would be good so we could reuse our towels. There was a hook but that ended up holding our robes. We will definitely be back! Thank you BW folks.

If it were not for great service recovery by the front desk, this score would have been a one or lower. Our first night was miserable as the room was surrounded on three sides by noise: an elevator bank beyond one wall; a very noisy lobby on side with all glass; and a hallway where people tended to congregate. That room (110) should not be rented out. We got moved to a quiet room on the third floor toward the rear of the building. If you get a room here, DO NOT accept one that faces the lobby and eating areas. This facility is built in a way that amplifies the sounds in the lobby (no absorbent surfaces to deaden sound), so a good night's sleep is iffy. As I said above, the front desk (a young man whose name I did not get) was very accommodating and actually reduced our first night's charges. One other thing...check on complimentary breakfast. This is not automatic. So check before you book if a free breakfast is something you want.

This was my 2nd time staying at the BW Alton and it's my 1st choice to stay when I'm in that particular area.... Great rooms, great ambiance and it's totally remodeled. I'd definitely recommend to family.

This place is loud, both in the clientele and the propagation of noise through the structure. Internet was borderline dialup speed at times. Executive who approved the renovation should be shown the door. Weird bathroom layout, insufficient shelving.

Our granddaughter's wedding reception was held here and it went very well. If you're wanting a quiet room, ask to not be facing the pool or the bar. Breakfast was EXCELLENT, but you have to have a ticket for it. Apparently not all room rates include the breakfast. If "quiet" is important to you, ask for a room that is not facing the pool or bar.

We've stayed at this hotel many times as part of our annual "fall drive" through Calhoun County and down the Great River Road, and the recent renovations have really bumped it up a notch. The staff is always friendly and the complimentary breakfast vouchers are appreciated (basic choices but tasty, and they serve thick-cut bacon). The rooms are very clean and well-appointed with outlets, ports and bathroom accessories, and internet access is reliable. In short, we've never hesitated to make a return trip here and will continue visiting in the future. One note about noise...if you're looking for peace and quiet, request a room that doesn't face the atrium where the pool and bar are located. They host many wedding receptions, parties, etc., and the bar stays open into the early morning hours (something I wish management would take a look at changing). Loud music and loud people have been common on our visits, and those windows do little to buffer either.

Attention to detail is lacking in MANY areas of this hotel. For starters, the room entry door "stuck" (lock worked but door fitting stuck so badly we had to shoulder-butt the door each time we entered). Bathroom garbage had not been emptied from previous guests (gross). Corners of room were not clean. Paint was peeling in bathroom. Hot tub is very small (and cloudy/dirty). Acoustics/sound insulation in pool area is terrible, and the entire hotel is noisy (from this pool area). Website pics show restaurant looking like a chic night club. The restaurant, rather, offers much more a "truck stop" like environment. Our waitress was wearing a t-shirt with holes in it. She yelled across the restaurant at incoming customers (like a loud stereotypical TV truck stop waitress) to "just take a seat and I will be there as soon as I can get there". This is at 7pm on a Saturday night, and they WERE NOT busy. The restaurant was out of several menu items, and the ones they had were not very appealing in manner of taste or presentation. This hotel (which appears to be a poorly thought out and unimaginatively renovated old Holiday Inn-Holidome (with atrium). It IS conveniently located and easy-to-get-to just off the Interstate. Beds are reasonably comfortable, if a bit hard. Room size is adequate. Importantly, and on the plus side, this hotel offers pet friendly rooms. However, the overall lack of attention to detail is so apparent, that the entire hotel emits a non-premier feeling that oddly makes one want to go home and take a shower !

This place was great. The rooms were huge and the beds were like slapping on a cloud. The breakfast was also very delicious and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again

This hotel looks like its very recently been redone so the rooms were clean with modern decor. The staff was friendly and accommodating as well. Every staff member we crossed paths with said hello. Check in was quick and friendly. The lobby is super spacious and nicely decorated with comfortable seating and TV's. Plenty of room to sit and have a conversation and not be on top of others. There is an area to purchase snacks 24hrs a day next to the check in counter, and business center. The mattress was comfy, with fresh cotton bedding. Also, the room had a large flat screen, refrigerator enclosed in the entertainment center, a microwave and mini Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom was beautiful with a nice full sized/power hairdryer and plenty of counter and mirror space. Bath and Body Works toiletry items were a nice extra. Our stay was just one night to sleep and we didn't have time to check out the pool or fitness center but we will definitely take advantage of that next time we are in the area. The included breakfast was above average. Along with the usual suspects of cereal tand waffles there were healthy choices - oatmeal with a variety of toppings; coconut, pecans, dried fruit, etc. Fresh strawberries, pineapple, melons & yogurt, as well as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns. Breakfast is buffet style but the staff brought a coffee carafe to our table. It is a really great value an I recommend it if you are looking for someplace between Saint Louis and Springfield!

We stayed for a conference. The facility was very clean and the rooms were especially comfortable. The Staff was very courteous and helpful. It was one of the nicest experiences we have ever had with a hotel property; clean, comfortable, affordable and very good food.

Had a nice stay at this hotel, they have built a huge atrium area for the lobby, pool and business lounge areas complete with funky art installed. The room was very clean and had a fresh feel to it. The flat screen TV was probably the biggest and clearest picture I've ever had in a hotel room. The shower head was moveable which is great for very tall or short people. The staff was kind, the lobby had fruit infused water and coffee available all the time. Complimentary breakfast includes a chef making omelets to order!

We rode bike MS and stayed here to get rest between days of riding. Fridge nice and cold, AC worked great, and bed comfortable. They offered snack bag breakfast for riders wanting to leave before the 6am breakfast. Thoughtful gesture.

I was traveling with my parents (88 & 86). We often come to the Alton area to visit family and have stayed at many of the hotels in the area. We had stayed in this hotel which was previously the Holiday Inn and thought we'd never go back because of so many things. Alton hotels were booked up because of the bike races, so we broke down and made our reservations at the Best Western Premier and were we surprised. It has been totally remodeled. Clean and beautiful. Breakfast was great and for us it was included (?). The staff were very caring and kind. Ate and drank in the "new" bar/restaurant and the food was good and the service was just as good. Music one evening on the patio that we just loved. Some folks who made our stay easier: Ross, front desk; Mark, head of maintenance; Jake, one of the waiters; Amy and Nadine in the restaurant. So, get that old Holiday Inn out of your head. This ain't what it used to be.

This hotel is the perfect place for a business or pleasure trip. It is newly renovated so my room was stylish, comfortable and fitted with everything a guest needs. I was impressed that my room had phone and computer chargers and great array of shampoo and moisturizer in the bathrooms. The staff was friendly and courteous and the hotel gym had ten times more equipment than most hotel gyms have. I was impressed! I enjoyed my large kind size bed and slept very well each night. Thankyou! I will be back!

Very clean, nicely and recently renovated. Great bar and awesome free breakfast with omelets made to order. Nice friendly staff. Didn't swim in pool area, but it looked very nice and didn't eat in onsite restaurant, but it sounded like it was really good. Would stay here again!

This hotel overall is pretty good, but the breakfast SUCKS! Worse ever, food not at temp, flies, no variety, they have nerve to charge $9.99, every BW property I've been too breakfast was free! They need to go back and rethink breakfast or just don't offer it!

I stayed at a Best Western for the first time 3 weeks ago and again this stay. I would recommend Best Western hotels to anyone looking for a hotel to stay at. Very satisfied with the overall stays at both hotels. One in Chicago and one in Alton.

Very satisfied with the hotel. It is very clean, staff was over the top helpful! After a long girls night out, they were willing to let our two room use the late check out benefit. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Alton is a nice place to visit and BWP-Alton is a great place to stay when you're there. It's clean and pleasant, a great value, convenient and comfortable. I will stay there next time I come back. It's a good are for biking and hiking with fun restaurants, craft breweries and wineries. Pere Marquette and the Mississippi make it a very nice ride!

What a great job Best Western has done with this hotel, joining their Premium market. Décor, amenities and staff are all excellent. Highly recommended for Alton, IL. stay. Much better than my earlier experiences with Best Western hotels, and will visit more of the Premium line.

Had a great experience. Friendly and fast check in. Room and bed was very comfortable. By the looks of the water in the hot tub in the pool room, it could certainly be changed out. Fast and easy check out. Great breakfast and friendly staff.

We had a short stop at this hotel, but it was long enough for us to be very impressed! First, the rooms were very big and clean. The hotel has just been renovated and the niceness shows. The staff member who checked us in was very quick and helpful. There's a nice restaurant/bar attached to this hotel, which is nice for a cocktail or beer or meal after a long day's travel. The breakfast buffet was fantastic - hot and cold options, plus there is an actual wait staff that waits on your table to make sure you've got fresh coffee and drinks at all times. It's a nice touch. We definitely recommend!

This hotel is extremely nice and the staff at the front desk are amazing. I had to switch hotels last minute and the folks over at this hotel made my transition effortless. I enjoyed everything about their establishment. The rooms were extremely nice and reminded me of home. The workout room was clean and presentable and the pool area was relaxing. If you're in the St. Louis area or southern Illinois and looking for a quality hotel look no more. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Excellent in all aspects. Amazing lobby, great staff, very clean, large room with a nice size television, comfortable couch and bed, great food, bill under the door and we're out... what's not to like?

Very nice in all aspects except for lounge experience. IEven though the policy says no one under 21 years of age to be present in lounge during kareoke night, I felt that since my 19 year old daughter was with her parents and other family guests she should have been allowed to stay and enjoy the night.

The hotel is fine only that the restaurant takes a long time to have the food. The toilet in the room did not have enough strength at the moment of flacing and the second person who came to fix it said, that maybe we are put something that did not let it work, that I did not like it at all. because since we was in there we let know to the reception is a problem with the toilet.

I am always looking for a hotel with a good breakfast and the gave me a great one! They have went out of their way to offer local meat selections such as bacon and sausage that taste wonderful. The breakfast staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant! I couldn't have asked for more!

Loved it. Nice and big and open. The shuttle to town is convenient -- used it to go to Fast Eddie's. Shuttle driver, bartender and front desk were all super. They have a pool, so if your room overlooks it, it could be noisy till about 10pm. The lounge had good beers on tap. Would be nice to have a Continental Breakfast option - it's only full breakfast. I should have booked this hotel via my Southwest airlines rewards program, but booked direct since it was a last minute stay. Again, it was great -- but based on the fact it's in Alton, IL, I think the base rate should not exceed $99/nt before tax. Thanks for the great stay! Drove up through Grafton IL afterwards and took the long way home, pretty drive by the river.

This Best Western was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!!! From the service, to the gym, and breakfast, it was all great. Their beds are very comfy and the bathrooms are sleek and sufficient. I will be back!

Enjoyed a great visit back home in Alton revisiting my childhood memories. Wonderful hotel experience , very nice location ( centrally located) , great value! The staff in the restaurant /lounge were very good , friendly and very helpful in giving us pointers on activities happening in the area on the 4th.

Beautiful!! Recently upgraded. It used to be Holiday Inn. Excellent breakfast buffet, open to public. Nice restaurant and the lobby is cozy and comfortable with a long gas fireplace. It's a great place to go on vacation. The lobby also has a tiny store. Service is excellent here.

Great stay for the our family reunion. New ownership, a few bugs to work out. A/C in workout room and the guest printer wasn't printing when we went to get our boarding passes, yet the staff accommodated us by printing in one of the offices. Great location. Had three rooms, all very nice. Staff was excellent and very accommodating. Would stay here again. Bill Grass Valley Ca.

Everything was great, no problems. Newly renovated and beautiful. The atrium is humid and noisy but there's a pool there so to be expected. we got a room that faced away from the atrium so no problem. Good breakfast.

The room was nice, but I thought pricey for the location. This hotel is not by the river or shops, so pretty boring and you have to drive to anything interesting to see. We had a problem with the thermostat in the room, either too cold or too hot. Chairs in the conference hall were very uncomfortable. The "free" breakfast was nothing better than you would get at a Super 8 and on Sunday, everything was picked clean and staff was very slow to refill any of the items. Powdered scrambled eggs, do it yourself waffles, constantly out of bagels or rolls, just blah. Just felt there should have been more for the money all the way around from room to "free" breakfast. If we come back to Alton, we will try to find something in the heart of town close to the beautiful rivers.

Was just here for a conference, the first time since it became a Best Western. The rooms was spacious, the bed was comfortable, nice shower and bathroom. Very clean, neat and updated. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

We were at the hotel for a conference. It appeared to be a very new hotel and I was surprised to hear that it had been around for a while. We were very pleased with the stay. Breakfast was excellent! Our room received the full force of the sun when during the morning and some of the afternoon and it got quite hot in there. Overall, loved the place and the staff. Very friendly place!

I highly recommend this hotel. Excellent service, spacious rooms are terrific. Very friendly for electronic devices. Bright and cheery lobby, nice pool area, great staff. Best Western will NOT disappoint.

My wife and I were displaced from our home by a house fire. Our daughter found Best Western Premier hotel/motel when looking for a place for us to stay while our house is cleaned and repaired. We were in a very stressed situation and the kind, caring and attentive staff at Premier were very helpful and considerate of our situation. I have nothing but praise for the staff.

My family, three adults stayed at this hotel Saturday, June 10, 2017 for an event we were attending in the area. This is the former Atrium Hotel. However, many renovations have been made and the place is wonderful. The main lobby has been completely remodeled, the pool is no longer in the atrium area of the main entrance, but the pool is still there, just behind a wall! We had a room with two Queen beds, fridge and coffee pot. I don't recall if we had a microwave. There are USB ports right next to each bed, wifi worked great. There was also a desk and chair in the room. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner worked great! Not as big as some rooms I've had but still very nice. The shower was spacious and had glass doors and the shower head was adjustable, so it would accommodate a very short person or a very tall person. This is a shower only, no tub, but I only need a shower at the hotel. lol I loved not dealing with a shower curtain as most hotels have. The breakfast buffet was very nice, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, cereal, various fruit, yogurt and orange juice, there was a few other things on the breakfast buffet that I didn't take a look at. The front desk staff, kitchen staff, waitresses and housekeeping were all very nice and friendly! We will be staying here again in two weeks!

This hotel is so much nicer than it was a couple years ago. Renovated lobby & rooms; pool area is perfect for our kids. Restaurant & breakfast was good. Would definitely stay again. Was perfect place for our baseball team to stay.

We had a very pleasant stay. Our room was newly renovated and served our needs well. The air conditioner was noisey but other than that everything was great. Extremel;y helpful and friendly staff. All employees we crossed paths with..greeted us and made us feel they were sincerely happy we stayed with them. Quidt unusual these days. Thank you for a great stay. Beds felt great!

We were in town for a small, family wedding. We booked the 'Atrium' based on reviews and it's closeness to family members. There was serious confusion when we arrived, as the hotel had been converted to a Premier Best Western the day before our arrival. We drove around the area slightly confused for a while before calling. I understand that these sorts of changes happen, but we would have appreciated an email letting us know. Our stay went well, despite the extremely loud children in the room next door to ours. The hotel was recently remodeled and everything was very up-do-date. There were a few weird marks on the walls, but overall the place was clean and well-appointed. We found breakfast to be a little lacking, especially with the extra cost. I've had better free, continental breakfasts. I'm not sure if that will be changing now that the hotel is under new management. All staff we interacted with (waitress, check-in, housekeeping) were extremely friendly and helpful.

I have stayed at this property before and while I was just passing through on a road trip, they were still able to give me great service. The breakfast is always delicious here (Omlettes!) and the staff is extremely helpful. I checked in late and the staff acted as though it was 11 am, bright smiles and friendly demeanors. Can't wait for my next stay. Oh and the lobby is gorgeous now, it was under construction my first stay!

My wife and I stayed at the Atrium Hotel & Conference Center and were absolutely in awe of this place. When you walk in from the large, well-lit, parking lot, you are greeted with a beautiful lobby. The lobby has several modern touches that give it a classy and new appearance, several seating areas, and a front desk with a pleasant staff. Check in was quick and easy and the staff was very helpful in their communication about what all the hotel offers and when check out was. We found our room to be very comfortable. It had been recently renovated and still felt very new and clean. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. There was an easy to use single serve coffee maker in the room with cups of coffee and tea, a flat screen tv with plenty of channels, toiletries (shower gel, bar soap for face and body, shampoo, and conditioner), a blow dryer, and a nice closet to hang up clothes! The Atrium Hotel and Conference Center is absolutely beautiful and should you find yourself in the area of Alton, IL (Greater St Louis) you should definitely stay here. I can't wait to come back!

First impression was signage could be better. Not very prominently placed. Have to pass the drive up area to see anything marking the building as "Atrium Hotel & Conference Center", but that's minor. So I gather from other reviews it was recently remodeled. At first look of the inside it is pretty impressive, but then step into the elevator and the new ceiling is hanging precariously in a couple spots (both elevators-same issue). Hope the contractor gave them a guarantee on that. Checked in, got bags from car and went to room. Key card didn't work. Had to go back to desk to have it activated. Again, minor issue. Room looked great. Bathrooms were very nice (except the tub faucet handle wasn't lined up right so you had to guesstimate the right spot for temperature controls). Great quality shampoo/conditioner/etc. Beds were super comfortable. I would suggest if you want to go to bed early (before 10 or 11) that you request a room NOT overlooking the Atrium or maybe one at the opposite end of the pool if you really want to overlook. The pool gets VERY busy and loud, but not an issue if you don't mind the noise before bedtime. There are lots of USB ports in many places in the room, which is a nice thought BUT the first one I tried didn't work, the second kept making my phone screen distort. Finally found one that worked properly though. Breakfast for the price was just OK. I have had better complimentary buffets (one was even in Alton). All in all the stay was nice. There was nothing terrible about the place, but there was nothing over the top awesome either.

The remodeled hotel is very nice. Very clean and a modern feel. The bar was nice, and has a nice draft beer selection. I booked on Orbitz, and got a good rate. We did not utilize the breakfast buffet, but it looked good.
