SureStay Plus by Best Western Wytheville

Check in was fine. Room did not appear to be completely clean, dirty floor. Breakfast was the bare minimum. I am Diamond Select and am supposed to get 500 points for check in. I cannot see on the website that I got those points. I emailed about the points, and did not get a satisfactory answer that shows I got the points. I called and spent over an hour on hold trying to get the points that I am promised. I do not trust Best Western hotel to service a guest and wasting my time. I will not be paying for any BW in the future.

Stayed in room 105. The 2 bed unit was quite and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing as eggs and sausage were cold. Biscuits and gravy were good. Ice machine was broken. Decent bathroom but in room fridge was a bit noisy. Paid $60 for the night, a very good rate. Would definitely stay here again. Access to I77 was ideal but no freeway noise in my room.

This is an outstanding hotel. We have stayed there several times. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is good, waffles & pancakes, cereal & plenty of nice yoghurt. The staff is friendly, efficient and helpful. The decor has a nice ski chalet vibe. The value for the price is outstanding. There is a good Chinese restaurant (the Peking) about a mile away that we have enjoyed a couple of times. The staff told us about an American style restaurant (the Log Cabin I think) that we may try the next time that we stay there.

The hotel was not very busy when we stayed and I felt bad as they need folks staying to pay the bills. The price was very good and our room was spacious and clean (they did forget to check the microwave though). The water was hot and the shower spray copious. All the furnishings in our room were in decent shape. Breakfast was good with sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs, yogurt, waffles, pancakes (both). The breakfast was more expansive than I expect from a SureStay. I stay at over 200 hotels per year across multiple chains but Best Western is my current favorite due to locations in the places I travel now that I am retired. This hotel was very adequate and I think they an exceptional job given the wallet friendly rates. I just hope they have more occupancy than I saw when I stayed on New Years Day.

Lobby and hallways smell like raw sewage. TV remote and hair dryer didn't work. While showering the bathtub filled up above my ankles, and smelled the same as the lobby. Ridiculous to even keep the doors open providing this type of service.

always stay here, It has been upgraded since last there and even better now! This is are stopping place between Ohio and Tennessee. Price always right and we are treated like family.Very quiet and good food nearby.

Staff was pleasant and answered all questions anytime. Lobby was neat and amenitis were good. Room was neat and breakfast was delicious. Bathrooms were neat. The room and bed sheets were clean. Service was good.

My recent stay at SureStay Plus By Best Western was fantastic. Check-in was a breeze, and the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. Despite its central location, the hotel offered a peaceful atmosphere for a good night's sleep. They offered a wide variety of breakfast options, including fresh fruits and baked goods. Overall, a memorable experience, and I look forward to returning.

The people were very nice, but the quality of the rooms has been steadily going downhill. This has been our stopping point every time we take this trip, but will not stay here again. Dresser drawers and nightstands missing handles, bathtub pealing, and the worst of all was the funky smell in the room. It smelled like wet dog.

Let me begin by saying this property is beautiful. The lobby/dining area has the unique feel of a lodge. The staff is also Wonderful and that is the Only reason I am rating this hotel a 3. Our first room was absolutely Disgusting. There was food and food wrappers on the floor, dried shaving cream & stains on our towels, and dried urine & pubic hair splattered all over the front/outside of the toilet. I felt gross just being in the room. So the woman at the front desk apologized and let us look at a second room, which unfortunately was not much better. The 3rd room we looked at was acceptable. It was certainly better than the first 2 rooms, but it too had some urine splatter outside the toilet, plus the counter top in the bathroom was sticky/not well cleaned and the nightstand had Several sticky spots and hadn't been cleaned at all. We ended up staying in that room and we all slept well on comfortable beds. The staff saved the day by discounting our stay and being warm & friendly. The owner of this property needs to bring in an outside cleaning company to perform a deep clean of every single great room. Then they need to hire a Good Housekeeping Manager who will set & maintain appropriate sanitary standards.

The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good. The beds were comfortable. The outdoor pool was nice. Walmart across the street. The rooms smelt like smoke. Even though they were nonsmoking.

Ice machine broken ‘for quite a while', vending machine not plugged in, lights blinking on and off in the hallway, hand sanitizer at reception empty, surface of bathtub peeling off. Slightly musty smelling. Filthy floor in lobby women's washroom at 7:00 am. This is NOT the Best Western standards we've come to rely upon. Not staying here again.

We were shocked when we arrived to our room. It was filthy dirty like it hasn't been dusted in ages! Flat surfaces had large accumulation of dust everywhere and was afraid to touch anything or walk on the floor without shoes.

Was really impressed with the knowledge of the front desk clerk. She got me the best deal for the rooms I requested. She was also able to recommend a restaurant nearby that would deliver to us , since she could tell that we were tired from traveling that day

Will not stay here again. Both our rooms smelled of dog. Our room had a hole in the wall. Refinished shower was pealing. Stains on sheets. Dark stairwell, which felt unsafe. Minimal outlets in room. Only way to turn on lights is to turn on/off at light.

Our room was mostly clean. Beds were comfy in our room. Pet fee was fair. Some reviews are very critical but I feel the new management is trying to put a good effort into the hotel. It's possible I think that they are getting several bad reviews from disgruntled locals who they do not allow to stay any longer

I travel a lot for work and this was probably one of the worst BW I have stayed in. (Titusville currently claims that honor!). Lobby area was very nice, staff was good. From there everything is down hill. Entered via the rear door and a pile of dirt and debris laying on the floor. In the room all the furniture is run down and beat up. Covering on the desk chair was worn out. Bath tub was broken in three different places.....only guess at the mold and rot that is under there....

Situated in a quiet spot far enough from the highway to ensure a good night sleep. Great price or those traveling on budget you will get the best for your bucks at this location. The room was clean and the beds were very comfy (not too hard or too soft).

Absolutely disgusting Best Western hotel on Nye St in Wytheville Virginia. My husband and I ( best western gold members) had reservations, drove 12 hours on Jan 11th . Arrived at the hotel, went into our room, and we were taken back how filthy the shower was. See pics. Air vents filthy . See pictures. Urine on mattresse. See pic . Jacuzzi filthy. See pic . Ceiling falling in . See pic . The mgt offered us another room , and it was the same. How could they rent a room like this while claiming to implementing safe and cleanliness practices???? We checked out and will NEVER stay at this Best Western again. Reconsidering staying at this chain again all together. This hotel should be condemned!!

My reservation was for a free stay using my rewards points. When I got there I was charged additional money in addition to the advertised reward points amount. No other hotel chain has ever required additional payment. Best Western reward program is a scam.

Our check in was quick although the clerk wasn't overly friendly he was efficient. Our room was okay. The bathroom needs some tlc as I think they are getting old. Sleep was good. Check out good. Good stay for the money spent.

Decrepit unmaintained facility. Barely edible breakfast with expired food, curdled coffee cream, fermented juice, poorly strained staff. Given condition and location for easy escape onto interstate, raises concern for safety as opposed to convenience.

Stayed here about a year ago and it was OK. Checked in Friday after a long day of driving, dropped off our luggage and went to dinner. Woke up early Saturday and decided to get a shower before hitting the road again. Tried to adjust the water temperature and found two settings - COLD or uncomfortably HOT. Stepped into the shower and noticed black MOLD. Tried to close the shower door and found the magnetic strip missing - can't close the door enough to keep the floor dry. Packed our luggage and noticed there was a safe in the room - out of curiosity, decided to check it - sure enough and (no surprise) it didn't work- dead batteries! No way would we recommend this place.

This hotel was very quiet and comfortable. It is a bit dated but clean. The breakfast was limited but was consistent with the price for the room. (It was very inexpensive). Fortunately, we had some fruit and yoghurt with us so adding that to what they provided, it all worked out well for us. We will stay there again when we have the chance.

I stay in a lot of hotels and as usual, sometimes forget something of importance at check out. Always get the item returned expect here. They dont call me back or followup, and claim the item was not found

The location is great, not near restaurants but not too far away. This hotel has been getting worse each year over the past four years that we have been staying there. Our last visit will be ou last at this hotel. The room was filthy with what appears to have been vomit on the floor between the beds, a bottle cap on the bathroom floor and we still could not believe the room. And when they changed our room the next room was not as bad, but still. Housekeeping was terrible. And the breakfast was also poor. A slightly warm hot breakfast and not much more to choose from. We love Best Western, but this was our first stay at this a Sure Stay and it will be our last.

Poor service as front staff were unavailable on three occasions at check-in and check-out.. Misrepresented hotel pricing, and then lied about them. Told me 2 Queen rooms were the same price as I King. He did not not want to give me the room I wanted. King room listed at $9 less on website. Mysterious additional charges showed up on my credit card through the hotel.

We arrived in our room and floor was dirty, bathroom floor and tub was filthy. Bed was comfortable and quiet so good for sleeping. Room had a hole in the wall. Breakfast was good but floor was sticky throughout the breakfast area. Hôtel would be good with a thorough cleaning. Certainly not typical of a Best Western

Terrible service. Front desk was unmanned at 10:30am for check-out. Waited 15 minutes for employee to show up. Then he said, "just put your key card there." Never offered a print out of my bill. Seemed to be annoyed when I asked for ohe. This was my fourth and final stay at this location. People who have no training in the hospitality industry should not be sold a hotel franchise location. Their poor service stains the corporate brand name. Obviously Best Western executives do not care. It's all about mo money, mo money, mo money!

We were traveling as a group and had four rooms booked. After check in we went to our rooms and as always I fold down the bed and it was obvious the sheets had not been changed. As well the bathroom and tub were filthy. The others in the group had issues with their rooms also. The clerk gave me keys to another room and while it was cleaner than the first the sheets were ripped. I took pictures to forward to Best Western. It is obvious that the owner/management isn't concerned about any standards. All of our group left the hotel and found much better accommodations just down the road. If your traveling through Wytheville you can do much better than this place!

The stay at this hotel was very comfortable. I felt very safe and it was convenient to the exit, where I parked my car. Every thing was sanitized and cleaned very well. The breakfast was OK but I don't stay for the breakfast

We stopped at the Best Western in Wytheville as it's the hotel we've chosen over the years in our travels between Pennsylvania and Florida. Since our last stay there, new people have taken over. When we checked in, our room hadn't even been cleaned. We had to take our luggage from one floor to another (no elevator) to get to our new room. While I was waiting for the reservations clerk to check us into our new room, it became apparent to me that the software running the hotel isn't working correctly. The clerk was finding rooms that were ready for occupancy that hadn't even been cleaned yet. Also the evening and morning clerks were not dressed professionally at all. No name tags, no uniforms. The evening clerk was wearing a hoodie and a backwards baseball cap. Really? Also, the place was FILTHY!!!!! Smear marks on the glass. The breakfast area needed a really good scrubbing. Window curtains in the office area askew. Obviously no care is being given to this hotel. That was our last stay at this hotel.

This is a well maintained motel with friendly service, good free breakfast and a little dog park that my dog really loved. The grounds are landscaped beautifully and the location is quiet despite being near the intersection of two interstate highways.

After driving for 10 hours on a 22 hour trip we were looking forward to a 2nd visit to the Best Western. Our first time there was just fine. We arrived late (as we noted in our reservation) and found mold and dust in the air conditioning unit, the rug behind the dresser had clearly not been vacuumed for quite a while, the box spring fabric was torn and frayed, and there was mold on the bathtub walls. We took photos which we sent on to the owner upon our return home and who was unresponsive. We called the 800 number and was passed around with no result, no apology, and the issue was dropped by BW. It was sickening.

This hotel was exactly half-way to our destination and afforded us a peaceful and restful night's sleep. No problems with toilets and showers (as are often mentioned about other hotels) but all was as it should have been.

We have stayed at this Best Western for the past 10 or 11 years when making the drive home from Connecticut to Tennessee. It's always once a year a sometimes twice. The staff has always been friendly. The rooms are clean and very reasonably priced. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to friends or anyone else.

We always stay in Wytheville driving back to FL and stayed here 8 years ago, unfortunately the motel hasn't changed. Great stopping point but if it wasn't for low price it needs to be updated. As an investor in a Best Western Plus this place doesn't give the brand a good name.

Decent place. Signs of aging increase on each visit. It is nice to still be pet friendly, but I'm wondering if they take less care of those rooms designated for pet friendliness based on how the rooms often look.

Don't stay here! The rooms were dirty. We had to request a light bulb for the bathroom. The air was on 60 all night just to get the room to a mid 70's warm temperature. Mold in the shower, rings in the toilet, and the shower shot water everywhere including out of spots it shouldn't. .The shower didn't drain well. The room had a smokey smell and we woke up with sore throats. The pool and hotel looks nothing like the images online. Ice had gnats in it.

If I could give this entire hotel a -10/10 I would. Arrived late around 1130pm, checked in quickly and headed to my room, opened the door and someone else is sleeping in the bed. Poor lady almost had a heart attack!! What if this was the type of person who sleeps with a gun next to them?! Myself and my boyfriend could have died!!! I went back to the front desk explained the situation and turns out they gave me the wrong room “Oh woops! You're supposed to be 142 not 143!” Yeah OBVIOUSLY. So I finally get to my correct room and I walk in and the whole place smells like someone had been smoking in there for 25 years. 1 out of the 3 lamps worked. The carpet was dirty and the bathroom floor was sticky and gross. The bath tub had dirt in it and the toilet seat was broken. It was so late and we had been driving half the day and I was too exhausted to even bother going back to the front desk. “It's just one night and then I'm out as soon as the sunrises” was what I kept telling myself. I had a reservation for the following week for one night and when I checked out the next morning I cancelled it. When asked why I was canceling, by the same man who gave me the wrong room number the night before, I laughed and said “Well you were there when you all gave me the wrong room number for starters”. Then I explained how disgustingly dirty this whole hotel is. He proceeded to try to give me 20% off my next stay but didn't even bother trying to apologize for the disaster that was my previous stay. 20% off for that would have been nice!!! I paid $130 for this piece of crap, I could have stayed at a nice, clean and well put together Marriott for that matter!!

The room was comfortable, the staff provided amazing hospitality, and the owner was beyond kind to me. Gorgeous area too. The back of the hotel was a picturesque hillside. Affordable stay as well. Very happy I stayed here!

This hotel is in desperate need of refurbishing! We had to change rooms 3 times before we finally found a room that didn't have dog hair everywhere (we didn't have a pet) or something wasn't working! Once we were in the room we found the tub/shower to be disgusting (see pictures) There should really be a "0 star" rating. Needless to say, we will never stay there again!

Biggest complaint is i forgot my laptop in my room - my fault completely. Staff were very helpful, but room was already cleaned and laptop was gone. Manager has not returned my call concerning lost laptop. Luggage carts had flat tires. Staff Diana offered to carry my luggage for me which was very nice. Hallway had strong odor of cat urine, carpets not vacuumed, dirty windows, have to ask at desk for soap and shampoo. So you'll want to do that before you get to your room and are tired and ready to get in the shower and then have to get dressed and go wait at the desk. I will never stay here again.

Just needed one night stay. Very reasonable rate compared to other hotels in area. Room was clean. Desk clerk could not have more accommodating. Breakfast was usual fare and fine. Would definitely stay here when in the area.

There was not a smoke detector in our room. My wife walked around for over 8 minutes and could not locate anyone for the front desk for check in. The knob for the water in the shower was missing and the water was stuck on HOT. (not waiting on repairs so no shower.)

The whole hotel was rundown and dirty. Bathroom and room were disgusting and dirty. Bed was old, creaky and uncomfortable. Slept on top of bed because we were scared to sleep under the covers. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Do not book here.

We stay here every year and have always had a good experience. This year, unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The attitude from who I assume was the manager was terrible. The hotel is showing a lot of wear and tear and when we had a problem with our bathroom that they couldn't fix, they tried to give us a 15 percent discount instead of giving us a room with a functioning bathroom.

My room did not look like it had been cleaned. There was nasty pupil hair all over the shower and sink and the floors had not been cleaned. Neither ice maker was working. And their breakfast was either empty or dried out.

The lobby was dated but clean. However the rest of the hotel was dirty. Pulled around to the entrance of our room and all we saw was dirty windows and torn curtains. Walked into a dirty foyer. Hallway to our room was dirty. Went on to room and had no tv remote. Toilet and shower wasn't clean. I love Best Westerns and have for years but I will never stay at this one again nor would i recommend it.

Don't stay here. I reserved this hotel, based on the 3 1/2 - 4 stars and pics I saw a few weeks ago online, for myself and friends. The lobby was dated, but clean and looked alright, as did the breakfast area. After check in, we drove around the building to enter near our room, and were shocked to see ripped curtains in the windows from the outside. From there it got worse, as the curtains in our room were falling off the rods, and the valance broken. The beds had thread bare sheets, and we found Taco Bell wrappers behind the bed, as well as a thick layer of dust. Several spots in the carpet were ripped, and there was actually a hole in the floor. In the bathroom, the fiberglass tub/shower floor was stained and squishy, and there were stains on the floor around the toilet. Every time we used the shower, the room smelled like mildew. My friends who are AT hikers needed to use the laundry, but they staff said they did not have change or a change machine to get quarters for the washer and dryer. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Well off the highway, quiet, and reasonably dark, and that's the best I can say. Everything is in a state of neglect and disrepair, from the patched parking lot to the matted carpet. We saw only one employee over the course of our stay. The bathtub and the ceiling above it were moldy, and the sink faucet leaked out the sides, flooding the countertop. Whoever mopped the bathroom floor missed the corners. The bed felt like there was sand in it. We didn't want to use the shower, and that's half the reason for getting a room. Skip this one until it's renovated.

Go somewhere else. This place is dirty and dropped from a hotel I used to enjoy to a place to avoid. The toiled was dirty, the hallways and rooms had not been vacuumed. All the windows hadn't been cleaned in God knows when.

Toilet was clogged before we even used it bathroom was not clean . Carpet was not vacuumed seemed dusty didn't try the breakfast just not happy with this hotel seems to need some housekeeping help … windows are streaked from the air conditioner s some windows you could see the curtains were falling off the rods

Some slight renovations still in progress. This hotel has rooms that have been recently renovated with fresh paint, new wall art, new furniture and looked like new carpet. There was a new sink and counter in the bathroom. The room smelled fine. The tub is fiberglass, that stain despite cleaning and our tub was lightly stained. The room was clean. The sheer in the window had large holes torn it, but the curtain was fine. The hallways seem to be still receiving touchups and looked worn still. The "work-out room" is 3 pieces of equipment in an old room along with the washer and dryer. Didn't try the breakfast. The walls were a bit thin, especially prominent was the hall noise, but didnt prevent sleep. They welcomed our dog and there is plenty of grass for walking. There is a small enclosed "dog park", suitable for small dogs. The view from the hotel back yard of the mountains is beautiful!

This hotel somehow receive 4 out of 5 stars online -- it's a LIE. Do NOT stay here. The facilities are outdated, dirty and broken. Our AC did not work, the room was covered in an old SMELLY carpet, the linens were not clean, the satellite reception was spotty at best on the TV, the towels were threadbare, and the toiletries were poor quality. We were so grossed out by this hotel that we didn't even go look at the breakfast -- ate elsewhere. The location is also pretty bad -- well off the highway.

Stay elsewhere! Not up to the usual Best Western standard. Main lobby and hallways were blazing hot from the heat being on high. One staff member was at the front desk with a line of 10 people trying to check in at 6pm. Guests in lobby had to prop 2 outside doors open to let fresh air in. Lobby floor was sticky. Whole hotel is dark and dingy. Our bathroom was not clean. Tub, floor and shower curtain were dirty. We did not try the breakfast. Couldn't get out of there fast enough at 6:30 am. Yuck!!

Staff was incompetent. Ladder and tools blocked hall access to room, without workers present. Had to move ladder to access room. Room bathroom had black mold on ceiling and under shower trim. Breakfast was inedible. Eggs were cold, sausage was pink, raw. Have previously stayed at this hotel. It used to be quite nice. Seems like they changed management and staff, for the worse.

Was traveling with the family and needed a room for the night. I assumed Best Western kept their places in good condition but found out otherwise. For the price I was charged for the room, I would have expected to walk into a clean well kept room. But what we ended up with was a room that was dirty from age. Dust and dirt along the edges of the walls in the bathroom. Door knob loose. Dirt in the AC vents. Seems like the whole hotel just needs a renovation.

used to stop here on the way to myrtle beach.....always fair value for the money......our recent trip in february was a huge disappointment......the place has gone downhill dramatically.......dirty halls throughout....ice machine not working........the breakfast was not good even accounting for the covid situation......not willing to risk staying here again.....there are better places nearby .

This BW is showing its age. The common area floors were sticky. It seems housekeeping doesn't talk to maintenance. Our shower needed some serious help. That said it was a decent value for a one night stay.

Dirty. Should have left when I stuck to the lobby floor! But tired after a day's travels. Tub need bleached. Crumbs on nightstand when I arrived so not thoroughly cleaned. No shampoo etc. charged an extra $15 at check in for processing supposed to be refunded. Couldn't get a good explanation what it was for. Stay elsewhere

We payed $120 dollars for a hotel that had sheets piled in the hallways, hallways that had dirt all over them, there was no elevator, old food for breakfast, the rooms were dirty and there were even stains on the sheets, dead flies in the window sills, expected much better from a best western for this price

We like to stay at Best Western but this franchise doesn't deserve the title. When we pulled the sheets down of the first of two double beds in the room, we found granola crumbs, and a piece of plastic which looked like the it was part of cover to a bandaid. It was very late and we were tired so We slept in the second bed which was much too soft. The tub dripped a lot all night. In the morning we discovered the tub had a crack in the bottom of it. At breakfast, the staff was putting away the food at a quarter before 9am when breakfast ends. Fortunately staff went and got milk out when overheard me asking my partner where the milk was for the cereal. The eggs were hard and I almost gagged on them. I tried to call the front desk to tell them about the issues with the room and the phone rang and rang until it was taken off the cradle and I could hear people talking in the background but no one answered my repeated attempts to speak with someone. Finally I attempted to check out because the man at the front desk said there was a $15 deposit which would be returned at checkout. There was no one available to checkout for over 15 minutes. I left and called back to leave a message. If I don't get my $15 refunded, I will be disputing it with the credit card and corporate.

The staff that we saw was helpful and friendly. Average hotel. We appreciate allowing pets in the rooms. Our small dog is better behaved than some people . This is a plus for us. The breakfast area was a bit weak.

We are diamond members of the Best Western rewards program and average about 12-15 hotel nights per year. This was an unusually below average experience. Breakfast seemed warmed over from the prior day and even packaged food was approaching expiration. The rooms were clean but in need of upgrade especially bathroom. Grout and caulking needed replacing. Bathroom sink was severely clogged. Fortunately the price reflected the overall condition.

Sounded like we were only ones here. Stayed here to go riding. Felt very safe. Encounter no problems. Great service, clean rooms. Great price. Best western does a great job. Quick breakfast and we were on the road again. Will stay again.

After waking up the next morning we noticed "snot" on a sheet which definitely told us the sheets weren't changed! Disgusting. We will NEVER stay here again and question how well Best Western checks the hotels in the franchise!

We stayed at this hotel 2 yrs ago (2020) and it was just ok as we only stayed 1 night. Big difference staying there this time (Feb 2022). Holes in towels, toilet moved when sat on. Bed linen did not look bright & clean. Bed was soft & had groves in mattress. Breakfast was not very palatable. Could not eat any part of it…did not look fresh. Would not stay here again. The staff however, were very helpful & friendly.

Maintenance seems to have been neglected over the years we have been staying here. Time for us to look elsewhere for our next stay. room had handle falling off dresser, missing a 4' section of baseboard, perhaps on-going renovation in our room? Breakfast offered was good, hot egg as and sausage. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We chose to stay at BW for the reward points. Once again it was a good experience. We booked directly through the website and were offered a very reasonable rate for a room with two queen beds. The hotel looked well Maintained from the outside, and was lovely inside. Everything appeared fairly recently updated and was clean. The beds were comfortable and the linens were great. Overall the room was clean and there were no issues with odours or stains, or mold etc. The bathtub needs an upgrade but was clean and the water was hot with good pressure. The only negative was that the walls/adjoining doors were somewhat thin and the family that moved into the room next to us were beyond noisy. They had two young children and those kids apparently wore the pants in the family. I had to knock on the adjoining door and tell them to keep the noise down. Did it work? Of course not. They finally settled an hour or two later and we were able to sleep through most of the night. I did not bring this to the attention of the front desk staff, figuring their efforts wouldn't have done any good either. It happens. I would definitely recommend this BW to anyone wanting good value for the money in a clean safe hotel with friendly and efficient staff.

Of the four different hotels we stayed at on this trip, Best Western was the BEST of them all! Clean room, comfortable bed, plenty of pillows, spacious, and a soaker jet tub. After 2 long days of driving, the jet tub was greatly appreciated and made for a more restful night sleep. The location is quiet and safe, with plenty of areas to walk your pet. The staff is friendly and a pleasure to work with. We appreciated a printout of local restaurants, as that made dinner planning very easy. Keep up the great work! We will definitely stay here again.

My sister and I rented two rooms, and both our beds were wonderfully comfortable -- firm but not hard. I slept like a rock. Although my room faced a parking lot, and we were only a block from a freeway, the room was completely quiet. Impressive.

One of the two beds had dirty sheets (brown stains and hair). THere was also hair on the pillowcases. The shower and bathroom floor were also dirty and the sink vanity appeared to not have been cleaned. There was no one to clean the room. The young lady at the front desk was very nice, but could only offer me sheets that I placed over the dirty ones. Luckily, we brought our own pillowcases.

The room was not worth the price, we will not stay there again. Carpet was terrible and the bathroom needed a lot. Location was great easy to get on 77north. Breakfast was OK one staff member doing both breakfast and front desk. She was very nice and needed some help.

We arrived very late after a long day driving and had to leave early in the morning, so we did not report the very annoying super loud and high-pitched squeak of the beds. we basically figured they could move us to another room that also had the same squeaky beds, so that would just delay us from getting a good night sleep. You could barely move. Just a slight push on the mattress and it squeaks. so annoying! and There was barely any choices of things treat at breakfast. not at all like some of the other Best Westerns where we have stayed. Very disappointing.

Tucked away from very busy highways with awesome mountain views, we enjoy staying here to and from our Florida home—and our dog does too. We've stayed here repeatedly and appreciate that the owners have kept it up to date. The beds are really comfy. It will be great when their full breakfast can be offered once more

Several years ago my wife and I stayed at the Wytheville Best Western. With the pandemic, we have not traveled much, but we decided to visit D.C. for Thanksgiving 2021. Wytheville is just about halfway between Nashville and Washington DC, so it is conveniently located for an overnight stay. The hotel is clean, and the rooms are also clean. there were no antiseptic odors in the room or halls, the way many hotels smell. The breakfast was good, with eggs, sausage, cereal options both hot and cold, various beverages, like several juice options, and milk. The coffee used to be brewed, but now they have a machine that prepares a variety of instant coffee options - not to my taste. But hey, it's free. The cost was also excellent, with a king size bed for $71 and a king size bed and a Jacuzzi for less than $10 more

Checked into a room after 13 hr drive on the way home from a vacation. The bathroom sink drained onto the bathroom floor. I am guessing a loose pipe most likely at the elbow. The front desk personnel was very helpful and professional and assigned us a different room.

I could not give a worse review! Fire wall door to 2nd floor would not shut without pushing firmly. Hall corridors were full of debris. Room had not been vacuumed- corners of room horribly dusty and full of debris. Jacuzzi tub that we paid extra for was full of scum and mold as well as body hair. Tile and jacuzzi tub door broken. Mold in shower. Mold in corners of bedroom ceiling. Bugs in room. Manager Pat would not talk to us or come in the evening we got there. We wanted a refund. The next morning they said he would be in at 7 am as we had to leave early. At 7:30 he came in because he was “sleeping in” he was there in the hotel all night! Horrible customer service! Unhealthy to stay here!!

This has been my family's preferred hotel when traveling between our home and the beach. This year I booked 2 rooms via Expedia both to be charged to my credit card. My son arrived and checked in without issue but when I arrived later that night (after 11pm) they told me that they could not locate my second reservation after searching by name, address and credit card number. The desk clerk suggested that I didn't actually reserve 2 rooms or that I made it for a different day. I pulled up my confirmation from Expedia on my phone and held it out to him to show that the rooms were indeed reserved for the same day but he never even looked. He was able to provide another room for the night. I was disappointed that the property looked so run down as compared to previous visits and the breakfast options sub-par with past stays but I understand the impact that the pandemic has had and continues to have on the travel industry. I was disappointed and angered upon returning home when I found that I had not only been billed for the two rooms we used that night but also for the room that they were not able to find upon my arrival. So in addition to the hassle at check in I was billed for 3 rooms and only used 2. I tried contacting the hotel by email but the email address on the website is not functional and by telephone. I eventually got in contact with a woman, Tabitha, who provided a supposedly good email address, took my information and was to pass it to a supervisor who would get back to me. That was weeks ago and I have not received a response! I have emailed again and still nothing. There are many brand name establishments at the this location and I guess that it is time to choose another. I won't be staying here again!

We have stayed at the Best Western Wytheville traveling North in the summer and South in the Fall. They are always accommodating and go out of their way to be helpful. The best part is traveling with pets makes this place great. There is a huge amount of grass hat our dog loves, and the location is easy to get to. Wytheville has some very good restaurants as well.

Easy location, BUT ..Very outdated and dirty.....bathroom counter was at my knees. Towels were OLD. Hallways and room had bad ordor, place wasn't clean, grass in all the hallways. Looks like hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. I understand COVID, but that's gross! Breakfast was okay, coffee was good. Waited to check in later to find out the maid was outside when he should have been in our room to clean is so we could check in, AND it was well after 4:00!! Got up real early to get out of there!

Although our room was clean our room had a bad odor. But I was told it was the only "pet" room available. This is the first pet friendly room I've ever had this problem . For the price I would only stay here again if it were the only hotel available.

We chose this location because it was about half way from the beach to home and the price was reasonable. The hotel appeared to be an older property and could use some repair and updates. Our room was clean however the outside was littered with trash and garbage. Local managers need to present a better first impression.

Cleanliness, convenience to the Interstate highway, and the friendliness of the staff make this a suitable overnight stop. The beds are comfortable and the Internet connection works. No frills, but no problems either.

I made a reservation for one price but when I arrived with my friends and family discount form they raised the rate of the room! My discount was minimal. What a shame to offer this employee benefit and then construed the costs…. Then to add salt to the wound, they entered our rooms before we checked out the next morning and handled personal belongings including a wallet. The only thing the hotel and the Best Western corporate had to say was it was a misunderstanding. How do you misunderstand a check out? We didn't turn in our room keys or suggest that we were checking out. This was done at 9:40 am when check out is at 11:00. I will never stay at another Best Western. Ever! There was also hair in our shower!

I do a lot of traveling in the States and Europe. This hotel was filthy and disgusting in need of a serious remodel or closure. The overuse and smell of antiseptic sprays and fluids turned my stomach, counters and floors were sticky and filthy. Sink and shower drains both backed up. The place was disgusting, I was very glad to leave the following morning.

The property is very dated although the lobby and common areas have been updated. You'll see and 'feel' the condition of walls, ceilings, carpet and tub/shower. It's a very quiet area and super easy on/off I-77. Staff is quite personable. The pet-friendliness and super reasonable pet fee can't be beat. Beds and towels are in very good condition. Pleasantly surprised at the rooms (somewhat dated, but had been renovated), cleanliness and excellent service. Highly convenient location right off the highway. Most reasonably priced hotel in the area, great value. Felt safe despite resurgence of covid in the US. Front desk personnel were stellar - so nice and helpful! Would definitely recommend!

Read it somewhere to stop while driving from our home in Florida to our property in West Virginia it was clean, the whole staff was friendly we didn't have any of our dogs with us this time but learn they do take them so we will definitely put it on my list of places to stay on our way through

Nice hotel for a quick stop while traveling on the road, Staff was friendly and helpful. Inviting lobby area, Rooms average size and clean and quite. Added bonus at this location was they allow dogs AND they have a fenced dog run. It was great to let our dog run off leash and strech her legs after being stuck in a car so many hours.

This was a choice of last resort as this town is at a convenient stopping point when driving north from Florida. We were surprised how dirty every area was, both the lobby and especially the room. There was visible hair in the bed. My daughter refused to get in the bed and slept in the chair!

Hard to give a honest rating when they are operating under Covid BW guidelines. But they should be fully operational by now. Plenty of other hotels on my travels are fully operational as this one should be. Breakfast was terrible with frozen microwave food.

Got this hotel due to rate and reviews. Pool was a plus, but due to having our own pool, wasn't a big deal breaker. But, when we arrived at 2pm on a Thursday (with a reservation made 2 weeks ago) to a empty parking lot and was told we couldn't get our room until 4pm (yea, their check in is 4 - but,we witnessed one of their only housekeepers outside smoking pot at that time) we were going to have some fun at the pool until we could get our room. After changing into bathing suites and walking out to the pool, that wasn't happening. The pool was as green as grass. Yet there were 2 people in the pool skimming the pool with a net. Not sure if they worked at the hotel and was working on skimming the green out. But, knowing pool chemistry, this was a neglected pool that had not been cared for. Chlorine is a basic chemical. Something that was not being used for the pool. Once we were able to get our room after just checking out the downtown scene for 2 hours, the room was just fine. Will not add this one for a return.

Overnight visit while traveling through the area. The hotel itself is somewhat dated but everything was clean and comfortable. The room was quiet. There was not a refrigerator in the room which was rather surprising as it seems standard for this rate. Check was good, clerk polite and welcoming. Breakfast was disappointing - microwavable breakfast sandwiches available. Difficult for someone who can't eat high fat food. There was fresh fruit but it appeared bruised and unappealing. I had a stale granola bar. (Breakfast probably adapted for Covid, but please give better healthy options.... yogurts maybe or at least daily fresh fruit, not old).

My spouse and I travel between Florida and Pennsylvania 2 or 3 times a year. The Best Western Wytheville Inn is an excelling location for us to do an overnight stay on this trip. We have used Best Western facilities all over the world and have found the brand to be clean, viable to our needs and competitive in pricing for our travels. This facility, along with an always friendly staff, continues that reputation for hotels Providing this Best Western continues its excellent customer service, facility upkeep and competitive pricing, we will most certainly continue to visit with them in our travels.

While this is an older hotel needing a little updating, it is very neat and clean. The staff are pleasant and efficient. Great place to stop if you have dogs. Large yard to walk and play with your dog and a small fenced in area for off leash. Will stay there again.

Room was dirty, tub was stained and would not drain. Peeling paint, air vents filthy. Stained bedding. Rude, unhelpful clerk at checkout would not allow me to use a gift card. This location is a very poor representation of the BW name.

The staff is friendly, but the property needs some work. Particularly in the room we stayed. Trim missing from walls in random spots, and a general warn down and old feel to the room. For the pricey stay, I expected better. I am glad though they are still pet friendly as we travel with our small dog annually and stay here on our return trip. We stayed in this exact room (146 I think) before, and the room seemed more run down this time.

To stay in Whytheville, VA for one night and pay over $200/night for a room that smelled and an AWFUL breakfast is a disgrace! If you can avoid this hotel, please do! This was one of the less expensive hotels in this town. I wished I had selected a different town or stayed in a more expensive hotel to have a better experience. Buyer Beware!

They need to put a new tub in our room instead of painting it. Plus, the soap scum needs to be cleaned off the tub. Other than that the beds and rooms were comfortable. Good value for the price. Worth the price.

Arrived to check in 11:30 PM. Greeted with a smiling face and a quick check in. The room was a bit humid and slightly musty but a quick few minutes of air conditioning remedied that. Beds were comfy. Room was clean. Slept well. Bathroom was a bit out dated and could have used a good bleaching, but overall it was very clean. We decided not to bring our pup to this pet friendly hotel. They have a small fenced in area in the back for the pets and plenty of poop bags handy. WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN.

Just passing through from Hilton Head to Cleveland, stopped for the night. Had a room available when other stops were full. Only drawback was that Morning Breakfast is COVID style. Good place to stop when heading North to avoid driving mountains at the southern park of West Virginia on I-77.

Staff members were kind, and the room was clean. There was a lot of noise in the early evening, but thankfully it calmed down by around 9p. Breakfast was ample, with several choices. Consistent with the chain, this is a fine "middle of the road" choice. Right off the highway. Be advised that there are no places to eat within walking distance. We recommend you stop for fuel/food at the stations just before you make the turn onto Nye Road.

It's neither great nor extremely poor. It's like a lot of the basic Best Westerns I've stayed in. They are usually no frills three-star inns. What we liked: They served Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches and fresh fruit. Some of the basic Best Western inns are not serving anything but junk food, so we appreciated the breakfast sandwich. It would have been nice if they included milk with the breakfast. They also had an attractive breakfast area with fireplace where you could sit down and eat. The room was decent, perhaps a little bit smaller than I've seen in other inns. There was great power from the showerhead, which felt really good. The grounds are attractive, as is the building from the outside. There is a large swimming pool, but we didn't use it. What we didn't like: No Wifi. I guess it was not working. We booked the special last-minute membership rate, but were informed when we checked in and checked out that they did not have the power to make that happen on my bill. They billed me the regular rate. I don't know why they could not have billed me that amount. They told me I had to contact Best Western to have it changed.

We received a very good price for our room. We were treated as if we were royalty for half the cost of the other guys. We will always be staying at the BEST WESTERN when we travel. BEST PRICE EVER!!!!

Overall it seems like a decent place. The staff members that I dealt with were wonderful. However, the breakfast was very poor, the ice machine near me was broken, and the toilet seat and toilet paper dispenser in my room were broken. I would think that they could do better than this.

Don't stay here. Very bad management. Breakfast below average. Go to the Sleep Inn across the street instead. Its the same price, cleaner, newer, well-managed and the breakfast is good. How do I know this? We reserved and paid for 2 rooms at the Best Western Wytheville ahead of arrival through booking.com Check-in clerk was incompetent and there was no manager available for 2 days: 1. Clerk could not find the handicapped accessible room we paid for in advance, and said they had no accessible rooms available, so we had to take the handicapped person in our group to another hotel (Sleep Inn). 2. Clerk gave us grief about refunding the cost for that above mentioned room (refused to issue a refund on the spot and told us we have to take it up with the manager in 2 days when he is back.) 3 Due to having a dog with us, we had to keep our room at Best Western and were assigned a room where the bathroom toilet and tub were filthy. Because it was 10 pm already when we saw the bathroom ( by the time we got the handicapped person settled and dinner) we were too tired to complain more. 4. Two personnel working for the hotel the next day confirmed the room we had been given was not supposed to be assigned due to it being "out of order" AND that a handicapped room HAD IN FACT BEEN AVAILABLE!!! 5. I forgot to mention the lobby was not air conditioned. 6.still working on getting a refund....

Hotel very clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly. A good location to go to old Winchester for shopping and eating. Breakfast was good excellent coffee. Will be back in the late summers early fall.

Please look beyond the aged appearance of the hotel, because once you get to the room, you will find a spotless, odor free room. A very clean, crisp bed, a quiet air conditioner and for me, an unusually good night's sleep. Odorless pillows and bedding, a plus for someone with allergies!

We booked 2 rooms. Both were clean and quiet. Breakfast was good. Staff was good. Price was also good! I recommend this hotel. We booked hotel off best western web site and not hotels dot com. $55. A night!

I was greeted by Jennifer a very wonderful and nice front desk employee. Beautiful lobby my 18 month old daughter instantly wanted to explore. Room was very clean and spacious. Not to far from the interstate. Quick check in. If I'm ever back in the area 100% will stay again.

Jennifer at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. She was awesome and accommodating, not only for us but other guests as well. Jennifer is the reason we stayed 2 nights at this hotel.

This hotel was so very clean and after a road problem that stressed me out I could find myself unstressing as soon as I came in the door to the Front Desk. They were very caring and listened to me babble. Thank you. The lobby is very nice also.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past 5 years. It is not on the main thoroughfare so it's quiet if staying closer to the front. It does back to the highway. It seems very secure for a hotel with exterior entrances. The staff is very pleasant and efficient.

Hotel needs more attention to detail when it comes to cleaning their rooms. they need a room checker to make sure these rooms are up to par for when the next guest checks In. Patient was good and it was very quiet.

As a senior citizen who is handicapped..the shower and bathroom in there handicapped bathroom was horrible..not safe at for a shower shower head leaked horribly. shower want hose too short...tub floor slippery...even the shower chair didn't fit well in the tub,.

We had very nice facilities, our fur baby enjoyed her welcome snack, clean room, plenty of pillows, friendly staff, understandable breakfast suspension because of covid 19, but to go breakfast was fine. Will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is a very convenient stop, right off the highway with numerous amenities/ food near by. Comfortable place at a good price and a very pleasant manager Sabrina. There is ample parking and doors to park near and enter the building close to your room. Fantastic HOT Showers.

Gosh I really loved my stay here. For $63 plus tax I had a beautiful room, well stocked and comfortable ... AND a hot tub in the room that felt incredible. It feels so nice to get such a lucky stay ... and I'm more than likely to get pretty good treatment in a Best Western anyway (with few notable exceptions). On this three-week road trip, this was truly exceptional stay ... sandwiched between rotten treatment at an RV park in Ellijay GA and sleeping in my car in a CT welcome center rest area. My most memorable lodging of the trip.

On my way driving south, solo from Marylnd through Virginia to Tennessee , I stopped for one night. I was as greeted by a very nice front desk person for late check inn. My nice king room was ready and waiting for me, very clean and welcoming. Would stay here again.

I have been using this hotel as my stopover hotel on my research trips from Georgia to Pennsylvania. The staff is always accommodating. The rooms are comfortable (I care about the beds because I have serious back issues). It is close to the highway, but Wytheville is a real small Virginia mountain town, which is also nice.

Great place to stay and visit on your way farther south a good stopping off point to where u can enjoy your leisure time for an evening . Have places to eat and go and drive around and spend some time in the mountains

Was there for emergency surgery. Was very comfortable. Rested very well. Will be staying again when in town for follow up visits. Very quite, clean. Friendly staff. We've stayed twice so far, will be staying again.

Great hotel with excellent staff! Hotel was clean Android organized and well stocked. Location was in a prime spot as there is so much to do in the area. The Mountain View from my window was breathe taking. Loved my stay.

We stay at this BW each year on our way to Myrtle Beach. It's pet friendly to accommodate our small dog Benny. There are a few large areas for the pets to do their business. Rooms are clean and quiet.

Staff was excellent, beds were very comfortable! Of course we missed the hot breakfast because of the "Pandemic" going on, but that's not their fault. It's right near the interstates 77 and 81, so it's very convenient. The supervisor behind the desk is just awesome!!

The stay here was fantastic, although only one night, the check-in clerk was so friendly, all the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and the prices were very reasonable. Will definitely go back.

Great place to stay and visit the many antique stores in the area. Good food nearby and plenty of places to visit and see the mountains close to the area. Visited many historic places in my time there. Can't wait to get back and visit other sites in the area

Not a good experience. On driving up (in daylight) building looked abandoned, tall grass overgrown with weeds - had not been cut in who knows how long. Building felt like a tomb when entering. Breakfast was a joke; issued in a paper bag was a bottle of water, stale granola bar, and old orange which was inedible - better of not seving this. This was even worse as a full, hot breakfast was advertised. If COVID was an issue, thier ad (and promise) should have been changed. I could go on but won't.

Just want to say first the man at the front desk was so sweet the nicest man. BUT the smell of our room and the hallway was so disgusting it made us sick to our stomach. We were traveling with our 2 INFANTS and had brought their pack and plays to set up. We get in the room which looked NOTHING like the pictures. I went to move a chair to spray some Lysol around the room and found a POOP. A damn dog or cat some kind of poop sitting on the floor. I said that's it we are leaving. Left the room to find spiders crawling all over the floor. I was terrified. Again the man at the front desk was so nice apologetic but explain well At least it's just dog poop. JUST DOG POOP what would be worse human poop? Rat poop?

We had to make a quick trip to WV for a funeral. We did not have an opportunity to make reservations so we started driving and stopped half way. We looked at the options and picked BW. Glad we did. Clean room, nice shower, front desk was very helpful. Will definitely use them again.

If you ever needed to travel during a coronavirus scare, and have your two year vacation plans trampled, this Best Western motel just might be your place. Our room was at an extreme distance from other travelers in the furthest corner of the building, had quick access to to an emergency exit, and a very pleasant jacuzzi. All of the staff were courteous, kind , friendly and helpful.

Great location, just off the highway. Manager Stephanie was very helpful. Rooms were clean, very comfortable beds, shower was hot. The hot breakfast was great, sausages, eggs, belgian waffles and other breakfast items.

We stopped here on March 13 on our way to Myrtle Beach SC. I'm not sure where to start... The staff might as well not have been there at all. No help with any concerns. The room smelled possibly of cigarettes? The safe was locked. We called up front and she said she would send her supervisor in 5 minutes. Meanwhie we discovered that the toilet would not flush just urine and tissue. All furniture including the headboard was covered in deep dust! The entire hotel seemed run down. After almost 20 minutes i called the front desk again. My brother and I had 3 rooms booked that night. He was next door. The hostess said she could not unlock the safe or fix the toilet and offered us a room at the opposite end of the hotel and up one floor. I agreed to take it. When she exchznged the keys she mentioned there wasn't an elevator. We took it anyway. How could it be any worse? While we were waiting, the 4 of us were sitting on the beds and chairs. My brother came to our new room for a quick visit. I showed him that the safe in this new room was also Locked! He said his too was locked in both other rooms. Why are they in the rooms if they can not ve used? When he returned to his room he sent me a text telling me that new people had just been checked into the room we had just left!! The beds would have been wrinkled up, pillows not sitting properly, safe still locked and toilet still not working. Unbelievable!!!!! Do not waste your money stopping here! Sleep in your car!!!

This hotel is in a real quiet and beautiful area. I liked the lobby setup and the business computers available to patrons. Staff were quite helpful and the stay was so peaceful! Like this location very much.

During my stay the staff was very helpful with accommodations, Tara(the lady at the desk) helped us with finding places to eat, local attractions, and just about anything we could think of. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

We have stayed at the Best Western in Wytheville on a number of occasions. It is far back from the highway, which makes it very quiet. Rooms are soundproof. You don't hear the people beside you. Rooms are large clean. And modernly decorated. The Wi-Fi in the room is very good. The mattresses are very comfortable. . The morning breakfast is above-average. A number of hot choices including make your own waffles. A selection of Breads and cereals. The dining area is a little bit away from the food, which is nice. Very Scenic Windows looking out over the pool. I highly recommend staying here if you travelling through, Wytheville.

This was our second stay at this BW as the location is a good halfway point from Ontario to Florida. The rooms are very clean and our king bed extremely comfortable. The breakfast had many items to choose from pretty much something for everyone. The girl who checked us in was very friendly as was the lady who checked us out in the morning. Both could not have been nicer. Now the reason for the 3* rating. The bathroom needed a lot of attention, the tub had been touched up far to many times to the point it looked dirty. I was hoping for a bath but decided on a shower instead. The tap was so difficult to use my husband had to work to get it on and put to a comfortable temp. I expected more from a BW property. The rate can be very low here so you get what you pay for.

We've stayed here on prior trips based on it's location and cleanliness. The room was clean, and breakfast hot and good assortment to satisfy our needs prior to moving on. One thing we did notice this visit was how nice and quiet our room was on the main floor, good sleep over for us, Located by gas and restaurants for ease after a long day of travel. Thanks BW

This BW has greatly improved over the previous times I have been there. The service was good. The rooms were nice. The breakfast was hot and tasty. Our room was close to the lobby and to out vehicle. Staff truly tried to meet all our needs

From the moment you arrive at this beautiful location framed by picturesque mountains in a rural setting (despite being close to everything), you begin to enjoy the unique nature of this particular Best Western. The lobby area is well organized, clean and generously stocked with all the things you need whether for Breakfast or during the day, the broadest selection for snacks of any BW I've stayed in. The Breakfast itself is unbelievable and with as broad a selection as many breakfast restaurants with my new favorite food being biscuits and gravy (first time and it was instant love). There is a special place in heaven for whoever invented this culinary delight and it was beautifully prepared as were eggs, sausage, various bread stuffs, yogurt, fruit, waffles and on and on.. Best of all was the Staff, led by Teresa, who were so friendly, informative and willing to help with anything you could possibly need. If you are travelling south through Virginia you should go out of your way to stay at this Best Western and say hello to Teresa. I have make this property on my itinerary on my way back to Tennessee. I have also went to the same restaurant that was recommended by the front desk receptionist over 5 years ago. The rooms are always clean, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate is available in the front lobby 24 hours, breakfast has many options, and the location is smoke free (all rooms!).

I stay onne night on my way to NC by myself. The hotel was very clean, I felt safe and the area was not a problem. Staff was very friendly and was greeted warmly. The breakfast was very good! Great value. Would stay again.

Very nice hotel for a lower price with easy access to interstae and regional activities. The eating area overlooks the swimming pool, and the breakfast has a fairly large selection. Scrambled eggs were a bit salty, but we rinsed them it hot water and they were fine after that. They stated that gluten free items were available on request.

We visited this hotel again, this being our 6th visit. Our stays are fairly consistent, always over the Christmas holidays so there are no variables. This year we noticed right away that the property was starting to slide. It is starting to look a little tired. I was particularly disappointed in the bathroom which has a few holes in the wall and the coating on the tub was peeling. The remainder of the hotel was still pretty good, The breakfast, as always, was well above average. Great selection. This year they offered fresh grated cheese fro your eggs...nice touch. We were told that there is a new management group running the place and they told us here were renovations planned. We will consider giving it one more visit to see if it gets back on track.

We stay one night on a trip several times a year and have rarely been disappointed. The rates are very reasonable and the staff is always helpful. It is also easy on and off from I-81. The breakfast is usually good too.

I really enjoyed this place. Really nice staff and hot breakfast. The room was nice the bathroom needed update but all was great. They are pet friendly. They do charge a $20 pet fee. I love the staff, they made my stay exceptional

The room was spacious, the women at the front desk were friendly and kind and checked us in quickly. This is a pet friendly hotel which was a life saver for us (traveling with 2 cats, who loved the room as well and did not mess it up at all!!). The room was fresh and clean. We will definitely choose Best Western again— great price, great everything!

This is a nice hotel that appears to have had some substantial remodeling. The rooms were clean and not shop worn . The bed comfort is a very subjective thing, but for me while OK they are a bit too firm. If you like a firm mattress this should fit the bill. The room air system was veryquiet which is definitely not always the case. The staff was very attentive and congenial. Thought that they understood the concept of good customer service. A couple restaurants close by but not within walking distance. Breakfast was very good and substantial. Met several people who were regulars at this hotel so would take that to be a positive thing. We would definitely stay there again..

This hotel really needs some refreshing. The walls are thin and overall the rooms are noisy. Granted, the hotel cannot stop guests raised in a subway station from slamming their doors when they leave or arguing about what day of the week it is in the hallway at 6 in the morning, but the soundproofing of the rooms could be a whole lot better. Thank goodness we weren't next to the vending and ice machines - I can't imagine how noisy those rooms were. The room decor was tired. This place could really use a major refresh!

Stayed at this hotel because we were traveling with our dogs. Was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Love the location the friendly staff and the coziness of the place. Would definitely stay here again. Would like to stay when it snows.

Nice hotel slightly off the main road which is in turn off the highway. Quiet location. When I say average, I don't mean it in a negative way. The rooms were clean, decent size, and the breakfast was good (though the entire batch of sausages were either burned or they're the blackest sausages I've ever seen). The staff was friendly, the internet was surprisingly good, and I'd stay there again without hesitation as the value was just right.

Yes pet friendly however I believe the odors can be controlled by better cleaning...The breakfast area very clean and food was good for a free breakfast...location felt safe...would recommend for pet owners...they should keep non-pet rooms available.

Best Western Wythville ,va is an attractive updated facility with limited direct TV , wifi, and an excellent breakfast . The motel is convenient to the freeway , restaurants and gas. Your room key will get you a 10 percent discount at the sagebrush steakhouse which is excellent.

From the moment we walked in we were impressed. The frond desk staffers, Allycia and Ella were most helpful with our requirements.The room was very comfortable and well laid out. Decor pleasing. Breakfast was very good. Will stay again!

Best Western Wytheville was a nice place to stay. Right off of the interstate, so it was easy to find and was very quiet. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The room had great shower pressure and a comfortable bed. Great after a long day of driving. Will definitely give BW more thought in my travels next time around

Place is clean, well lit, and appears safe. Clean, linens and pillows- location--right off the highway. Staff were lovely. I really liked the 24 hr tea/coffee and hot chocolate bar--nice touch. Works!

Room was very clean. Beds very comfortable, pillows nice and fluffy and did not go flat as most do, full size instead of half pillows. staff very friendly. Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

What a wonderful Gem of a Hotel! Has the presence of a little rustic lodge. I was surprised to see a rating of 3.5. I am an extensive traveller who explicitly uses the BW Brand. Personally this at the least is 4.5/5. This BW could easily compare with a PLUS. Excellent Front Desk customer Service (Tara/Alicia), who promptly greeted us, acknowledged us as BW Diamond members and checked us in. Beautiful lobby with fireplace and seating area, great decorated clean smelling rooms. Hotel quietly nestled off the highway in a safe location with a nice view of the mountains, not sure what more one could ask for? I wouldn't think twice about staying here in the future! Definitely one of the nicest and best stays during our 6 week travels.

This Best Western is why I love the Best Western chain of hotels. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and well stocked. It is always our choice to stay in the area and will continue to do so. They make you feel very welcome and do a great job.

Although close to restaurants and shopping, this hotel has that quiet country feel. Staff very attentive, efficient and pleasant. Furnishings in room had more of home feel and room had plenty of open space to get around. Free internet had strong signal and sign-on a snap. I actually stayed here twicw in one week. Once as I was heading to destination and 5 days later as I was heading back home.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel several times in the last few years, while travelling to and from Hilton Head Island. It is a nice place, convenient to the freeway and plenty of restaurants near by. The staff is very friendly and helpful. One time, we got to the hotel over an hour before we could check in and they let us hang out in the lobby, eating popcorn and watching tv until we could access our room. The breakfast bar was excellent and the room clean and comfortable.

The Perfect Place To Stay In Wytheville. The staff at Best Westernin Wytheville are Very In Tune on each Individual or Famity's needs. They are so friendly and helpful. The staff made sure to accommodate our Beetle group with a block of rooms that were close to each other.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Best Western. The breakfast bar was well stocked and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom area was the only area that needed attention. The shower had some worn spots. But overall - we'd definitely stay here again.

The staff was excellent,very freindly and helpful. We stayed at this hotel last year on our way home from vacation.It is close to Stagebrush Restaurant which is also excellent. It also has a small dog park,that is great after a 6 hour drive for the dogs to get a real chance to play and run. The breakfast was great.

I'm not quite sure why there is such a gread divide between the hotels that are worn out and cheap and chintzy with what they call breakfast and free wifi that is generations old and placess like this BesT Western which was generous with the breakfast offereng. To pay three times as much for a nicer place to stay forces me to feel taken advantage of. Long live the inequities of the capitalistt ssocieity and free markets exploiting the nature of supply and demand!!

Awesome experience from check in to check out. The front desk ladies were very professional and got me checked in quickly. They answered all my questions a out my stay. The breakfast was very good and there was plenty to eat. Definitely will stay here when in the area

This was our last night of a 2 week motorcycle trip before heading home, I have stayed at this Best Western multiple times in the past with friends as we attended NASCAR races in Bristol, TN. This was the first time my wife stayed at this location on my recommendation and we were not disappointed. It's in a great location, off the main road, you fell safe, and it's nice and quiet. The staff let us keep our motorcycles near the car port where they could see them all night, this courtesy is common at BW's we have stayed at. Great staff and customer service.

A somewhat above-average BW. Nice greeting and Platinum gift bag at check-in. Room was clean and fully functional.I extended my stay to two nights during the first evening...quick and easy. Housekeeping forgot to make up my room the next day. I was able to get towels from a helpful and pleasant woman who was working in the laundry that evening. On-sight self service laundry worked well. Efficient, front loading units. It was in the 90's and the pool was closed! Wow. In-room safe was dead. This is a pet-friendly hotel and there were a couple of "yappers" nearby but they were quiet at night. Breakfast was well above average for this class of hotel. Spotless serving area and good hot food selections. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the "biscuits and gravy" were very good.

Truly the best part of this accommodation is the friendly, efficient staff. We received a warm welcome, our Elite package was readily available, and all questions answered politely. Otherwise the room wasn't as clean as I prefer but, conscientious staff acknowledged my request for a quiet area (117). The breakfast is typical, the fitness room a bit sub par and needs wipes for cleaning the equipment after use. Easy on and off I 77

Having stayed at many Best Western branded hotels, I can affirm that this is a good one. Cozy, charming feel as soon as you arrive in the main foyer with the center fireplace. Everything is clean, well-maintained and comfortable. Check-in was super fast, business-like but friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was standard BW fare but nicely presented in a clean, comfortable setting. I would definitely rebook in the future if my travels bring me this way.

Stayed for one night. Nice spot great staff and clean with great value. We booked with points and where assigned a second floor room. NOTE there is no elevator or automatic front door. This could be a problem for some guests. Front desk was good enough to move us down to the first. Other than that great spot.

Very speedy check in. I was exhausted and got checked in and settled in record time. Room was spotless. Breakfast was very good, nice variety of food. Check out was very fast too. I will definitely stay again.

There are many other nicer hotels where you can stay. The hotel is being repainted on the outside. I asked if the rooms were redone and I was told yes. I asked to make sure the rooms were not musty smelling and was told no. Fast forward to the watermain breaking so as I tried to step into the shower after leaving the pool-Nope. I dressed and went to the front desk and was told I would have to be moved like everyone else because they knew the water was broken. (not great attitude). Why didn't they call each guest and let them know? Anyways, I was moved to a room that did smell bad, the sink did not drain, pillows were lumpy and we no longer had a King size bed. The next morning at breakfast the employees all got thier food and then the not so pleasant women from the front desk (the same one who had been there the night before--perhaps this is why she is not so friendly) started putting away the food (before the scheduled time) and I had to ask her to leave it so I could finish eating. Anyway, as a BW member I expect better. A welcome greeting at least and a welcome gift (cookie or water). no acknowledgement at all. My reccomendation is to stay somewhere else.

well, when you are traveling and looking for that middle of the road layover, you run the risk of taking what is available. This visit was less than desirable. Checkin was quick and uneventful. Room was reasonable, AC, fridge was in good working order. Bathroom could use refurishing. Room was musty smelling. As we left before breakfast, no 'go' bags were available (as promised) not to mention a desk clerk (no one was present!). Clearly felt we overpaid here. After answering a survey, I received feedback that the hotel was under new ownership and management company. As the reply indicated steps were underway to improve the facility AND service, no other (future - return) concession was offered. Roll the dice on this hotel.

Located at the intersection of two major interstates this is a very quiet hotel. Heard no road noise all night. The room was very nice, Will definitely consider staying there next time I am in the area.

We stopped here for the first time on our way to driving my mother to Florida to live with my sister. The next morning we had an unfortunate situation occur requiring 911. Being away from home and family made this difficult time even more harder. Stephen the manager and the assistant manager( a lovely lady who's name escapes me. I am so very sorry) were attentive, accommodating, helpful and most of all compassionate. The entire staff was so gracious! I will always be thankful for your graciousness and warm hearts during that unexpected and difficult time.

Got a very nice gift when we checked in for being a member. It was a nice place, near a restaurant to get food. It was in a very quite area. The breakfast area had lots of room to eat and lots of food to choice from.

Check in took very long time as computer would not take my credit card despite the fact I had used it to make reservation. Finally got into room and although it was labeled a non-smoking room it reeked of smoke. Desk clerk failed to provide wifi password so when I went to call front dest discovered phone was not plugged in, no plug in available. Went to front desk and informed them of phone and smoky room but no one ever came to fix phone or did not offer to move to another room.

Was very acceptable . Breakfast was great and the rooms were very well kept. The service was of high quality and the cleanliness of this hotel was very very clean. i would stay there again when traveling through Virginia

Choose to stay here for the outdoor pool. Not enough seating area to relax after a swim, no umbrellas to shade you from the sun. Two ice machines neither were in working order. The hall carpets needed a good vacuuming as well as our room carpet. Just a little extra from housekeeping would go a long way. The AC worked good and the bed was comfortable enough, but I would not stay here again.

Stopped without a reservation after a long day of driving. Desk attendant was more that polite and helpful. Room was great, clean, well appointed, bed was great, AC was WONDERFUL! Breakfast was typical BW, better than average. Only complaint was the parking lot lighting could have been better and the WiFi not working on the end of the building we were in. Otherwise, a great stay!

Excellent front desk workers who were pleasant and very helpful. Lovely pool area to relax and gather with friends. Often when travelling with friends it's hard to find a gathering spot. The lobby had noce tables and couches to relax on. Liked it enough to stop again on our way back home from vacation!

Family needed a place to sleep that was around our halfway point to NC and we thought we'd try Wytheville. Based on the reviews, free breakfast, they have a pool, and the pricing we chose the Best Western and we weren't disappointed! Was exactly what we needed, comfortable place to sleep that had a good selection at breakfast the next morning. Check in went smooth, had a room on the 2nd floor (no elevators - unless we just couldn't find them). Beds were very comfortable, I'd compare them to Hampton Inn's beds. Woke up the next morning and had our choice of waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, cereal, and I'm sure others I don't recall. After breakfast, got checked out & back on the road!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast bar was well appointed with a decent selection. We enjoyed the staff on our journeys and would stop here again. We did request a forgotten 20 3 AM, but they were out of stock on toothbrushes.

The Room had a moldy odor. There was a beer bottle under the bed. There was sand in bath tub and carpets were wet! It was a decent price and for that I give it 3 stars. As far as the Cleanliness I would only give it a 1 star as it looked as though it was poorly done and there was trash under the bed. I was traveling with a dog and this is a pet friendly hotel so I was limited on options.

Our stay was adventurous, we had a memorable stay. A lot happened on our night stay but the individuals that work here are top of the line. We arrived and checked in, later that night we smelled something not so appealing. I went down to the front desk, the young man on duty assured me that he would handle the situation and moved us to another room. He followed through to let me know what steps were taken to resolve the matter and the outcome of what had transpired. Along with that one of the guest had misplaced their dog. Now they didn't notify the front desk, still can't figure that one out. But their dog had been loose for an hour and had no tags or notification on his collar. The front desk was busy that night but he handle everything that came his way and handled it professionally. By the way the smell was not something that was the hotels fault it was another guest who was creating the illegal smell.

Place need a lot of attention in many areas. Inquired about early check-in, was told room was ready "now". Got there 3 hrs later, waited close to 1/2 hour for desk clerk to "find out" if the room is ready - huh? Had Jacuzzi room. The room itself could have been cleaner, many areas of rug not vacuumed with stuff all over. Bed was comfortable, I slept okay. Jacuzzi part wasn't good - laughable. When turned on jets, walls vibrating, essentially nothing coming our of jets and it was so loud I'm sure it annoyed anyone in a close room. Turned off, useless. Stairwells not swept, breakfast area, not one clean table and staff not doing anything about it. Place just seemed to be in decline. Lots of staff standing around not doing anything with so much to do.

After Booking.com forgot to transfer our booking, the manager at Best Western Wytheville and her staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The hotel is located very convenient, quiet and spacious rooms, breakfast includes just about everything you could ask for. They deserve a reward for helping us the way they did!

Great place to stay. Rooms are smaller but if you are looking for quality for the money this is where you should stay.Excellent breakfast, clean rooms outdoor pool is great for kids in summer. For the money its a great deal.

Just love this little place. Have to travel through on our way up North and love to stop here. Comfortable and charming. Not bright and new,....worn but referbished and the rooms are all redone. The lobby is large and has a fireplace . It makes you want to sit with a cup of excellent coffee and view the pool or watch t.V. Right off the freeway but neseled in a country setting. The staff is friendly. Wish the internet was better but think the mountains have something to do with slow speed. Our third visit.

Staff was Ok , a little slow to the counter at times. Room (129) had many issues, clogged bathroom sink , shower that leaked from every part and fixture at the same time , bathroom light and fan rattled and buzzed whenever switch was turned on. Room key card lost their programming everyday and had to be reset, kind of aggravating not being able to use side door close to our room. Directly outside of room door was the worlds loudest vending machine, UGGGGH.

The staff was friendly we were placed in a 1st floor room and asked to be moved upstairs and they were able to let us switch rooms. The beds and pillows were soft and for myself who has a bad back was not comfortable to sleep in, luckily I brought my own pillow. What I didn't like was that it is a non smoking hotel but they are allowed to smoke right outside the door and in the pool area. Had to walk thru people smoking when coming back from dinner, if your going to make it non smoking they should have to be a certain distance from the hotel doors. The doors on 1st and 2nd floor both had signs on them to keep closed fire doors and both were opened our whole stay (as far as I could see there was no elevator). Breakfast hours need to be extended on weekends. Breakfast was 6-9 I would make it 6-10 or 7-10 although I will say the woman who was working the breakfast area was working her tail off trying to keep everything stocked and getting things when asked. Breakfast area needs more seating.

Stayed at this hotel for an overnight stop. Fast friendly check in. Nice pool area with tables and chaises. Comfortable bed. Fitness center had working treadmill, bike and elliptical. Wi-fi was spotty. Breakfast was good; waffles, eggs, bacon and misc cereals, yogurt and fruit. I recommend eating before or picking up food before checking in. A steakhouse is the only place close to hotel.

I had a great stay at the Best Western Wytheville Inn. They said they are under New Management and you could already tell good things were happening. Front Desk staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and free hot breakfast was great with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. Easy access off the Interstate, and staff seemed like they were happy to be there. I would definitely stay there again.

The drive up was absolutely amazing!!! Upon arriving to the hotel the lobby was set with a perfectly positioned fireplace with a cozy seating area overlooking the outdoor area of the property. Every staff member that I encountered during my stay, were quite hospitable from the front desk to housekeeping to maintenance. Will be back, see you soon!

This is absolutely the worst best western I have ever stayed in. I can't believe they allow their name to be on the sign. First they wanted a $250 deposit. The room smells stale and old. The ice machine is broke. The detergent vending maxhine in laundry room is broke, so I had to run back out for that. After washing my clothes, they now smell like they have sat in there for about a year. They smell 100 times worse than when I put them in. I hope once dried they dont smell as bad or I can't even take a shower. With all of this I'm real hesitant on wether or not I'm gonna eat breakfast.

Had a problem at check in and a couple of in room discrepancies but all were resolved to my total satisfaction! I will stay here again, the room was large, well appointed and the beds were exceptionally comfortable!

Hotel not in good shape. Rugs were dirty and first floor was worn. Bathrooms were dirty and unacceptable. Not sure who writes their reviews but they need to be updated. Staff admit there were issues. Would not stay as guest again. Rates were not relative to the shape of the inside of the hotel.

Hallways windows mirrors lamps windowsills airconditioner all coveered in dust Water supply lines trap etc covered in dust and dirt... This was the second room The first had not been cleaned at all spots on sink with toothpast and spit..... Hair in shower etc....The entire time we stayed halls had not been cleaned windows and doors were filthy .. Best Western has always been my favorite motel in the past I was shocked when I saw these rooms at Wytheville Va.... I had stayed in Sommerset Ky 2 weeks ago in a Best Western that was 100% perfect in everyway... This place was pitiful.

I had seen previous reviews about this property and that the staff was not friendly and / or rooms and public areas were not clean. I will say that the whole place was clean, our room was immaculate, and the grounds outside the hotel were well kept and manucired. What I was most impressed with was the fact they had built a chain link fenced area for pets to be off leash to play or take care of their business. The area was clean as well.

Caution for the mobility challenged - STD King rooms are on second floor and there is NO elevator. We were upgraded to Executive King on ground floor at no additional charge. The hotel is clean, quiet and appears well run. Breakfast was typical and adequate. We recommend and would stay here again.

Hotel was average and did the trick after long days drive. Not one of the best hotels in this chain. Needs some tender loving care. Tub had been painted and paint was peeling. Ceiling tiles falling out. Like I said did the trick for what we needed

Not a pleasant stay. Room had not been vaccumed. Trash behind door. Bathroom was dirty, pubic hair in bath tub. Room smelled of wet dog. Location was convenient. Selected this hotel because of previous satisfactory stays at other Best Westerns.

I booked my parents a room at the best western in Wytheville, VA because it was a good stopping point for them between Ohio and South Carolina. My father forgot his favorite pillow an hour or so after they checked out on Saturday, April 27, 2019. I called the front desk and spoke to Teresa. She contacted housekeeping who had found the pillow. She took the mailing address and my credit card info to ship it back to me via UPS on Monday. I called on Thursday, May 2, 2019 and Teresa again answered my call and had no idea where the pillow was and suggested I call UPS because she was off on Monday and Tuesday so didn't know if it was shipped. I called UPS and the lady there was very helpful, even contacted the hotel for me, but no pillow had been picked up to be shipped to us in Ohio. I called back to Teresa however since the pillow was not there, there was nothing she could do. She also had no idea what happened to the mailing or billing information that she left. I realize that my father's missing king size bamboo pillow is of little importance to the general day to day operations of Best Western but I would think that working in the hotel service industry would cause an issue like this to occur from time to time and forgotten items could be returned. I am wrong. Don't forget anything if you stay here.

I had made the reservations while traveling. The outside looked nice. that is about it. The desk clerk did not care if he spoke to me or not. I always ask if they accept AARP, but for some reason he ignored me, so I gave up, That morning checking out, I asked again about AARP, and the lady said no they did not. REALLY?? so when we checked the breakfast out, but as in most Best Westerns I have stayed at, the food is hot. This hot food was soggy scrambled eggs, bacon was nearly not cooked. Needless to say, we did not eat there. We also stayed in a room with a hot tub. Well , several of the jets worked. Room was fairly clean, but the bathroom faucets were about ready to fall off and the toilet seat was loose also. At least we got a good nights rest. I have yet to check if I got my best western reward points, as the guy said yes, I got them..

Stayed here only one night but was very pleased. David checked us in and was super helpful and very kind. The room was very clean and beds were quite comfortable. The bathroom was clean and fully stocked with amenities. The only thing I found a bit uncomfortable was the bathtub was without slip resistant mat and from what I observed the guests were mostly elderly. I made this work by putting a hand towel in the bottom of the tub. The breakfast was standard motel fare and again David kept things refilled. This is a quiet motel and the views are beautiful. Yes, I would absolutely stay here again. Thanks for a nice visit.

Our bathroom was filthy would not reccomend this location to anyone the hotel gave me cleaner and I cleaned the tub myself there was also lots of mould in the bathroom if we had not driven from Canada to Wytheville we would have left and could another hotel to stay at

We had a good stay with another Best Western on our way south and signed up for their rewards program. On our way north from S.C. we decided to try their hotel in Wytheville. It was a Saturday at about 3:30 when we attempted to check in using a coupon from the Travel Coupons site. The coupon stated that rooms were $79.99 except on weekends when there was an extra charge which we were prepared to pay. A delightful young red headed receptionist greeted us an indicated that there were rooms available. The process went down hill from there when an older female manager got involved and informed us that they weren't accepting those coupons. We told her we were Best Western Rewards members and she then offered us a room for double the coupon price. Then I tried AAA and the price dropped to just over a hundred. Then she decided she didn't want our business and told us they were full to get rid of us. I felt sorry for the young girl who had initially greeted us. I expect that she probably caught an undeserved earful from the more senior woman. We won't be back. On a positive note we went to a recently renovated Super 8 across the road and were welcomed with open arms.

the hotel lobby is lovely and makes having breakfast there very pleasant - the breakfast spread was great - many hot and cold items to choose from - check in and out was quick the room was basic and generally clean - the fridge was unplugged and the previous guest left a food container - it smelled really bad - housekeeping should check the fridge when cleaning but clearly didn't

We stay here on our way to Florida. The check in is always easy. The rooms are always clean. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast room is very good. There is lots of room for parking, and the parking is safe.

We stay at this hotel frequently on our way to Nashville and always find it comfortable and convenient. It is easy off and easy on to I-81. It is also conveniently near restaurants. The staff has also been very helpful when needed.

This hotel is clean, with friendly staff and well situated close to the main highway. It is also a pet friendly hotel which was surprising because we saw but never heard anyone's pets. Front desk personnel were extremely friendly and the breakfast offered a nice variety of hot and cold options. Hotel is located around the corner from a large service station stop with a food court, variety store and fuel combination. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This was a great trip. Our family is spread out everywhere and this hotel is exactly in the middle of us all. We attend a couple activities in the towns of rural retreat and wytheville, but we kind of just like to hang around and catch up.

A coat if paint was not enough to update hotel. We have stayed here for many years and it is increasingly going downhill. No temp control in rooms ( apparently building problem), dirty furniture, poor and cold breakfast. Paint peeling in rooms holes in carpet.

Great choice, clean and comfortable room. Quiet location with a great view of the mountains. Close to restaurants and the freeway. Staff was friendly. Complimentary breakfast included, could have been better if they would've had enough foid put out. But overall a great place to stay.

Outdated facility making the room feel dirty. Curtain and furnishings were very old. Air conditioner was outdated and loud. We did not get a bill under the door for express checkout and had to go to the desk at 5:30 am to checkout.

They were very accommodating to our last minute reservation. Everyone was accommodating, room was clean and decorated nicely. Breakfast was excellent. Location was both near our route and easy to navigate.

We stayed here using our points for a free night. We were billed for the room even though we had confirmation that our points were taken for the room. This charge has still not been removed after five days and we've gotten no answers. The hotel is nice but the staff was very unprofessional and not helpful. The breakfast attendant closed things down with the dining area still full and people getting food. She refused to assist customers when they asked her for something blaming she was following management orders. We've stayed here times before but not again if this is how guests are treated.

The hotel is very well situated close to the highway, the check in was speedy, the clerk was friendly. The room was spacious and clean, very comfortable. The breakfast was very good, the scrambled eggs were about the best I've ever had, light & fluffy. The check out was fast & smooth.

We were on our way to Savannah and looking for a quick stay overnight to break up the long drive. The hotel rooms were a little worn but clean and functional. The continental breakfast was average and the best part of the breakfast was the waffles. They had a mini waffle maker which my kids loved and it was tasty. If you are looking for a reasonable hotel for a quick stay, you can feel safe and get a decent value for the price. We had no issues and got a good night's sleep.

Not sure if I will return . The room was somewhat unclean if you looked closely , The last time we stayed the room we were offered had the toilet ripped out of the floor , so we were given another room , when I later checked the bill we were charged $5.00 more for a upgrade room from the broken down room .Truely , not impressed

We stayed one night and checked in late. We had no problem getting a room midweek. It is a nice hotel, with friendly staff, great coffee/tea table, good breakfast, clean rooms and is a good value. What more can you ask for!

Convenient to get off and on the interstate. Decent facility close to dining and fuel. Good break after an early morning start from home. They offer a decent breakfast and comfortable room and very quiet.

Check in was a breeze. Requested room on first floor and got that no problem. Traveling with two small pups. Pet charge was $10 per dog. Room was very clean. Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly. Plenty of places within a couple miles to get food, dine in or carry out. Gas close by. We travel this route often. This will be our "Go To' when traveling with or without the pups.

We were passing through on our way to Florida. We had a room with 2 queen beds, fridge, and microwave. This hotel was very nice and very clean and awesome price $55 a night!!! Delicious hot breakfast in the morning. Staff was very friendly too

We stopped there on our way down south, liked the hotel enough to stop again on the way back. Very clean, comfy beds, friendly staff. Nice selection of coffee, tea, and hot cocoa in the lobby. Breakfast area was spotless. Good WiFi, fridge,microwave and coffee pot in the room. Close to the highway.

Excellent value for money. Was the halfway point of out trip from Ontario to Florida. Comfy bed, breakfast included, clean room, quiet area but still easy to get on and off the interstate. Recommended

We stopped at this hotel on the way to and from Florida. It was comfortable enough for a one night stay. Morning staff was helpful. There were 5 of us and needed extra towels. The staff at the front desk did not hesitate nor asked any questions. She went ahead and provided extra towels for us. Evening not so much. Great deal! Decent breakfast with a nice selection.

It isn't the newest or swankiest place, but the front desk staff member was quick and courteous at check in, the rooms was a good size, clean and location to take out food and the highway was great! If we come back through this way to Florida, will definitely stay here again!

Came in to hopefully get a room had to wait 30 mins til Brandi came back to the desk which she was out back with a guy room was dirty went to the desk to change the room but I think I walked in on a drug deal over the phone sorry but will never be back again staff would rather talk to men and do drugs sorry not sorry just get you a red light I guess

We read the other reviews and one said it was a great Best Western. Not for us.Our room showed wear. The carpet had not been shampooed in some time. The bathroom molding had been ripped away and not replaced. There was water damage above the beds that had not been fixed and repainted. The breakfast was decent.

We returned to the BW at Wytheville again this year as part of our annual run to Florida. This time we stopped there and back. Both visits were really good...no problems at all. The rooms were clean and quiet. The breakfast was substantial, although on the morning after Christmas it was a bit leaner than usual, but not a show stopper. We had room 128 on the way down was really good...on the way home we had room 132 which was ok too , but the bathroom was a bit more tired looking. This will continue to be our waypoint for a southern runs.

Stayed at a hotel costing twice as much but at half the value. Clean and welcoming. Easy on and off highway and yet quiet. Yummy breakfast especially the pancakes. Felt safe and welcomed by great staff.

My third visit to this hotel. I arrived before check-in time without a reservation. I had been on the road for twelve hours. It was two days before Christmas. The wonderful lady at the front desk contacted the head housekeeper. She located the room closest to the lobby that had been serviced and checked me in. This was above and beyond the call of duty. I will return to this hotel whenever my travels take me to Wytheville, Virginia. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all who read this review.

Bathroom may have been wiped with a damp cloth, but NOT properly cleaned. The last guest's used bar of soap was left in the shower and strands of hair was evident in 2 places in & around the shower. Luckily I had a travel can of Lysol spray to use on the shower surface before we had to use it. Front desk staff were very lovely and nice. We didn't try the breakfast because we were turned off as a result of the bathroom conditions.

The rooms were dirty, dog feces on floor in one room. The other room had cereal and debris on floor. Toilets were dirty as well. I stayed one night and will never stay at this hotel again. It was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had.

This is one of the nicest Best Western we have stayed at. As we have a dog, we sometimes get some of the worst rooms, but this hotel was clean, and secure. they even have a dog park for your puppy to run around in. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok. Standard, but hot. We would definitely recommend this hotel. And would stay here again. There are plenty of restaurants close by,

Clean, well maintained Inn with a friendly staff. Restaurant around the corner has good quality food at a reasonable price, depending on the item. Second time staying here while traveling through this part of the country, will stay here again.

Our night desk clerk was amazing and every helpful. After working 9 hours and then driving 5, we were tired. The lobby was ery homey and inviting. That is where the 3 stars come from. Our room was full of dog hair, the floors didn't look like they've been touched, there's no way they dusted properly, I understand that breakfast is free but she needed more help and a breaker blew so no more warm toast, bagels, juice, etc.

have stayed here many times...some positive, some negative. my most recent stay was on the positive side. we had a regular room and a handicapped room. They both were OK, nothing special, nothing negative.

The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful as was all the other staff with which we had contact. teh room was clean, and comfortable. breakfast was good and had a variety of dining options. With our AAA discount I think this was a bargain.

Checked in at 8 pm. The receptionist gave us a great room and applied a discount for us. There are pets allowed in the hotel, but the rooms were very quiet and clean. There was a complimentary breakfast in the morning that was pretty good. Pancakes, waffles, sausage, eggs, cereal, juice and other thing. Very satisfied with this place and would stay again.

Our first evening, Thursday, was fine. Breakfast was good. When we returned Friday evening, our key cards wouldn't work. We were an the extreme end of the building. I had to walk all the way to the lobby with my wife waited outdoors! When finally we got into our room, it was a mess. The beds were haphazardly made, and one bedspread was actually laying on the floor. The room waste basket had not been emptied. Towels in the bathroom looked like they had just been tossed up on the shelf, and there was a dirty towel handing behind the door. We had used all the tissues the previous night, and they had not been replaced. The next morning we went to breakfast and the eggs were gone. None appeared until about a half hour later when we were done. They did give us a discount on the room but we would rather had a well maintained room. I should add that this is a pet-friendly motel, I've seen LESS dogs at a kennel, so if you are not a fan of sleeping with dogs, don't stay here.

Not a bad hotel for the price. Easy access from the expressway and restaurant near by. Friendly employees and a breakfast with good options. The room was clean exept for behind the headboard. (If you look behind things, somewhat dusty) I'll definately be staying here again.

My father was passing through Wytheville while moving. He stopped at the Best Western because it is pet friendly and he was moving his 20 year old, extremely unfriendly cat with him. Somehow she got lost in the hotel and neither my father, myself, or the hotel staff could find her after several days of searching. We had just about given up hope when the hotel staff called us 6 days after his initial stay. They had found her and managed to stuff this angry, old, and extremely belligerent cat into a box! She's settling into her new home now thanks to the hotel staff. This hotel certainly employs some very kind and helpful people. We really appreciate the time they took out of their busy days to help us find my dad's cat.

We always stay at this BW each time we head north & south to FL and NY so I am really sorry to give them this terrible rating!! But it couldn't be helped.. from the front desk personnel to the unclean room!!!

Walls are paper thin. You can hear every door open and close in the hall. I didn't sleep at all. Dogs barked all night long. Hotel is old. Hard to find from the interstate, and I was traveling alone at night and got lost. Worst stay ever.

The room was inviting clean and ready for a good nights sleep. Breakfast was a good variety of food for each type of breakfast eater, Healthy, GF, hearty etc... Best part pet friendly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Staff was understaffed and overworked. Rooms not ready for checking in guests at 5 ish!Parking lot full of barking dogs that continued to bark through out the night. It was like a pet farm!Entry hallway on the side of the hotel was messy with stuff drug in from outside. Bathroom sink drained VERY slowly! We did report it to front desk so we hope it was taken care of before next guest arrived.NO elevator so all guests who wanted a NO pet room had to travel stairs - dragging up suitcases and bodies. My sister in law is handicapped and we encountered at least one other lady who struggled to do the stairs. We will NEVER stay in this hotel again and would tell our friends to avoid it also. It certainly was not what I expected from Best Western.Our room was clean and breakfast was fine.

the room was nice, the pillows on the bed were fluffy, the towels were nice the bathroom is a nice size with a nice shower head and pressure. The place for the dogs are great plenty of grass a closed in area so you can let them go.

Good experience and great value. Location was perfect for our trip. On our route to visit grandkids couldn't have worked out better. Easy on and off the Interstate. Will stay at this location in the future.

2nd stay here a disappointment. On checkin, door to room open-housekeeping not finished. 2 of 3 days key card had to be reactivated. Housekeeping left clean towels but did not make up bed, empty trash, replenish coffee. Final night, a cockroach was in bathroom.

What a great stay. Breakfast was hot with tons of options to choose from. They even had gluten free. Our room was clean and with new pillows and new sheets, They had designs in them which was different from the last stay I had. I come to this hotel every year. they have new management and are making all kinds of improvements. It does not have n elevator, however it is 35 years old... I can use the exercise! I will come back.

only one other person had checked in. booked our room on second floor. My wife is handicapped so we asked for a 1st floor room and were refused. there was only one small bar of soap for the sink. No soap for the shower or shampoo. will never book here again. What would they have done if she was in a wheel chair?

I chose Best Western because of the name and reputation. This hotel was super smelly and outdated. I'm guessing the room was smoking at some point but was converted. I'd guess the carpet was never changed.

I arrived for one night later in the evening and was greeted by excellent Customer Service, and very clean room. Breakfast had enough choices for me and I had great nights sleep. I would stay here again.

We booked a room here for our trip back from the race in Bristol. BIG MISTAKE!!!! We walked into our room #239 and it smelled like mildew. The toilet was filthy and could not have been cleaned in months. The shower curtains were stained and had holes in them. The mirrors looked like they must have been cleaned dirty towels. The carpets had tears and holes in them. Pillow cases were stained and had hair on them. We opened our window shades and there was a styrofoam container half full of food sitting there. We went down for breakfast in the morning and my daughter gets a vanilla yogurt and takes one bite and spits it out. You guessed it outdated by 3 weeks. Upon checking out I tell the lady at the desk and she rolls her eyes and says wow really??????? Not even as much as an I'm sorry. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and this is easily and by far the most terrible one. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else, anywhere else.

Best Western should remove their name from this place as it does not meet the standards that I've experienced at other BW properties. I've stayed here a couple of times about 3 & 4 years ago but stopped staying here after needing to change rooms 3 times in one night due to heater and door lock problems. I had to move to the second floor then but there is no elevator. This stay was my last here due to the room condition, the inadequate breakfast, the lack of an automated entrance door, and the uncaring staff. I had a promotional coupon from a previous BW stay and the price was significantly less than other hotels. The room had garbage on the floor; the bathtub had hair in it; the sink was cracked; the toilet was running; there was no bath size soap or bath mat. Breakfast at 8 am was a disaster. Not enough seating, coffee was gone, eggs were gone, other breakfast items were all but gone. The attendant couldn't keep up with refilling coffee, food resupply, table cleaning, or plate & utensil supply. There are many other places to stay in this area and I have had positive experiences at a couple of them. I stop overnight in Wytheville about 3 times a year. In the future I will pay a few dollars more, but will not be staying at this BW again.

Room stunk, floors were not swept, there was no TV remote, crumbs on the bathroom sink and counter, and the last persons used bar of soap was left in the bathtub! Will not return to a best western in the future.

Stayed here as a stop on the way back from Tennessee. At breakfast there was a spider crawling in the scrambled eggs and a roach in my room trying to crawl into my bags. When it was reported to the front desk the response "We sprayed recently. They must be coming out." What a non-chalant response. Will never stay here again.

Decided to stop in Wytheville for the night on our way home to Cleveland from Myrtle Beach. I read a few pages of reviews and ignored the bad ones indicating how dirty this place is against my better judgment. I have always had good experiences at Best Westerns so I relied heavily on that. I was looking forward to taking my daughter to the lovely looking pool based on the listing photos. Come to find they used some photo magic to make this ridiculous tiny square of a pool look way nicer than it actually is. The hallway was smelly. They had a drop ceiling. Very dated lighting fixtures. The room also smelled. Every surface has a layer of dust on it. I really couldn't believe it. It was the filthiest hotel room I had ever been in. The sheets did not smell like they had been recently laundered. There was a ton of hair and dirt in the bathtub. The toilet paper roll was almost empty when we arrived. Just foul. The window was foggy and covered in condensation. It had the sloppiest caulk job I've ever seen. I felt very uneasy staying in that room. I hope we haven't caught lice or bed bugs. We washed every fabric article we had as soon as we arrived home today. There weren't any housekeeping carts around when we left this morning. I really wonder if they even employ a cleaning staff.

Second time at this property, Staff helpful and facilities clean. Convenient to the Interstate. Good value and comfortable beds. Breakfast was included, although not exhaustive. Would / will stay at property again if traveling nearby.

OK for an overnight stay when passing through on the way to the beach. And the nightly rates are reasonable. It's in a quiet area right off the highway and easy to get to. I probably would not recommend to a friend or family member. I doubt I would pick this hotel to stay again.

Very disappointed that we couldnt check in early since the room was ready. Soon new management is going to move checkin time to 4pm which i feel is late. When we got there in the afternoon there were eggs still on the counter tops in the breakfast area where it had not been cleaned since breakfast. Thought maybe it was a one time thing but next day the same. Breakfast was lousy. Carpets were philthy and one of th3 rooms smelled musty.

Rooms were clean and stocked. Beds were comfortable. The floors were clean and you felt comfortable walking around bare footed. Bathroom and shower were clean. Plenty of towels. The breakfast was decent for a hotel breakfast. I left there full, and I am somewhat of a picky eater.

I decided to listen to the reviews saying it was clean versus the ones saying it was dirty and that was a mistake! The carpet was dirty and dusty. Cracks in the walls. But the bathroom was the worst. The tub was black and the walls of the tub were yellow and just absolutely disgusting. I had been traveling all day and wanted a relaxing shower but I wasn't going to set foot in that! Very gross! Don't stay here!!

Upon check in I was greeted by smiling, happy and friendly front desk... Mandy and Rebecca made sure our check in was smooth and just plain old fun. Southern hospitality at its finest! The lobby was full of Army reserves and it was the interaction between the staff that I was intrigued to watch! So much positive energy that we will come back... my room was spotless, I had a jacuzzi room! I was on the 2nd floor with a view of the mountains.

Hotel needs a good lesson in house keeping! I was not happy with the ton of hair in the jacuzzi tub, it had not been cleaned at all. The General manager was working the front desk by herself and became very overwhelmed with the phone ringing and people trying to check in. When I called the front desk to report the filth, she said she would send the young man up. After waiting for 45 mins for someone, I called her back and said we were leaving for dinner. I ended up getting Lysol wipes and cleaning it myself. Ridiculous! $132.00 for the room that I had to clean!??

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay. We were only there one night, but were thrilled right away with the beautiful view at this hotel. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and the breakfast was very good. This will definitely be our stop from now on when we are traveling.

We stopped here while traveling. The hotel is an older property, but it is clean, comfy. Shower pressure was great and the water was hot. Rooms were large enough. Hot breakfast for the am included maje-,it, waffles, eggs, sausage, buddies and sausage gravy. Good stop!

We definitely will never stay here again. We reserved four rooms last night. When my family got to the hotel to check in at 5:00, only 2 out of the 4 rooms were cleaned and ready. We had to wait for the other two to be cleaned. After getting to our four separate rooms, none of my family members had enough towels and there were absolutely no washcloths. My mom had a dirty washcloth in her bathtub when she went in. Then, while my husband and I were watching tv, we heard someone jiggling our door handle. My husband went to see who it was and it was someone who was given the same room as us. There was a huge mix-up at the front desk. Then, while we were sleeping, our phone rang and woke us up. We were asked by the front desk our last name and whose credit card the reservation was under. THEN, in the morning around 8:15 when we were getting ready, there were two people knocking on every door saying “Housekeeping” and going into rooms. The man walked in on my sister in her room even though she responded and said that the room was occupied. This was just a very poor hotel experience. Especially when we are all exhausted from traveling and paying good money to have a relaxing evening. It was anything but that.

First room was so dirty we asked to be given another room. The desk clerk who was very nice gave us an upgrade. To be honest the room is much cleaner but the bathroom is awful. I will not take a shower here. We stay in Wyethville 4 times a year on our way to see family. This is by far the worst experience we have had in all of our stays.

I hate writing reviews like this. We stayed here about 10 years ago and had nothing negative to say. This time we did not have the same experience. Everyone at the desk was very kind and polite. Kevin was helpful and positive. He was busy yet very attentive to the guests. Popcorn was available all day long and so was coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The breakfast spread looks nice from what I can tell. Unfortunately, the room was absolutely filthy. The beds were made and sheets changed I think, but the bathroom was horrible. I wiped the bottom of the bathtub and brown dirt and hair was on the towel. The floor had hair and dirt and the toilet had urine stains. Kevin from the front desk came up and personally cleaned the bathroom. He apologized over and over again. Please get this staff some cleaning people so the front desk can do their job. Pay them more or provide additional trainings. Maybe both. Kevin, my husband and I would both hire you in a heartbeat. I hope your professionalism does not go unnoticed and the Best Western in Wytheville makes sure you get a promotion. You were doing the work of 3 other people and did so with a positive attitude. You earned a 5 star review!

Do NOT stay here. Front desk lady and other employees hang out in front smoking cigarettes rather than answering phone. Front desk lady rude. Toilet has urin stains all around the base. Bathtub is dirty. Disgusting

Accessible room that had everything in it I needed. Breakfast had a good selection and was served promptly at 6. Even though the building is surrounded by interstates, the room was extremely quiet and provided a night of uninterrupted sleep.

The Hotel is old and tired. Holes in carpet, curtains, drain not working in the tub. The surface area of the room was clean but corners in bathroom and carpets need thorough house cleaning and repair.

This quiet clean hotel is behind other hotels which makes it quiet. The hotel needs a little updating but is clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a large breakfast room with picture windows overlooking the pool. Their breakfast has a variety of items to choose from. There is an area outside designated for pets. Not a fancy hotel, but great for the price.

This is not a four or five star by any means, but the beds are comfortable, and the room clean. The rooms could use some updates, but we like that the hotel is quiet and very convenient to the interstate.

Love this Best Western, look forward to our next stay. We have 2 dogs, and they are always welcome. The free breakfast is pretty good, and they always have plenty of hot coffee. Very comfortable beds and clean rooms. When ever we are in Wytheville, Virginia, this is the only place we stay. So glad we found this place.

We spent a couple nights here. It's nothing to rave about, just another hotel. Price is right. Location is definitely out-or-the-way. Staff was very busy with a large group of Harley riders but they were very accommodating and kind to us. The "common area" is not large and is enclosed with a railing which certainly limits its capacity when there is a large group staying in the hotel. Breakfast was adequate, nothing to rave about. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were essentially clean but the staff needs to clean the edges of the carpet and the corners of the rooms which didn't seem to have been cleaned in awhile.

A group of Harley owners from Louisville stayed in Wytheville to take advantage of the wonderful back roads and the hotel was extremely accommodating. They allowed us to cater of meals in the lobby/breakfast area, which was a bonus. There is no elevator, only stairs to the second floor.

Staff was very nice. Very disappointed in the quality of cleanliness of the room. Sheets were clean but bed had thick dusty across top of the headboard and on the table & desk. There was an old candy wrapper behind the edge of nightstand & other stuff on carpet - just not clean!!

Hotel was clean and staff were very accommodating. Excellent place to stay with family and pets. Lots of restaurants and shopping in the immediate area. My husband and I stopped there on the way to NC.

Clean, efficient hotel, as advertised. Pleasant staff and hearty breakfast in the morning. Spent time here while hiking the nearby AT. Good restaurants within a short distance. Would return when in the area again.

We were assigned to room 419. The door was open and the room had not yet been cleaned. Went back to reception and were assigned room 417. Entered 417 and found overflowing wastebaskets. The bathroom, rugs, and all surfaces had not been cleaned, but after an exhausting day on the road, we decided to clean the bathroom and surfaces ourselves. When we pulled down the covers to get into bed, we saw the sheets hadn't been changed from the last occupants, so we slept on top of the bed with our clothes on. At 10:00 pm we were awoken by loud voices outside our room. An argument was going on between someone from the front desk and a gentleman (in charge of cleaning?) about room 419 not being cleaned. The next morning, I grabbed a towel on the rack after my shower. It was wet. It had been used, re-folded and put back on the rack. Breakfast was awful...cold, watery, powdered eggs and some greasy sausage concoction. We loved our stay at the BW Inn at Hunt's Landing the night before but were thoroughly disgusted by our whole experience at the Wytheville BW.

After I slept in the bed I found a dirty sock under the covers in the morning. Obviously the sheets were not changed between guests. I hate to think what else was neglected. This is completely unacceptable.

Checked in and found my room had not been made up. Unmade bed, wet towel on the sink. They assigned me another room. Everything fine except the toilet had not been cleaned. Not a pleasant sight. I was told there had been a lot of staff that had recently left. I will give them another chance as I like the location and I need a pet friendly hotel in this vicinity.

The Best Western at Wytheville, VA may well be the bargain of the year, or at least in the top 2. The experience was flawless. Great breakfast complete with biscuits and gravy as well as the usual waffles, good coffee, juice. The room was clean and exceptionally quiet. Disclaimer; I arrived at 1:30 AM and left at 8:30 AM so I really didn't check out all the features. However, it was a very good experience and I just booked the same hotel again for the return trip.

I had a great night at this motel. The room was clean, bed comfortable and coffee maker worked. I stayed with two dogs. We were placed in an area close to an outside door. There was ample outside and lawn area to walk with the dogs. I would recommend this to anyone traveling with dogs.

I called ahead to make sure we had a pet room with a king sized bed, they gladly made the adjustment. Room was very clean. Bed was really comfortable, we don't sleep well in separate beds. Breakfast was awesome. We'll be back!

We stay here on our way to and from myrtle beach a couple time every year. Clean rooms, comfy beds and a great staff...we'll be back again! We have been very happy with Best Western everywhere we have stayed!!

We rented three rooms at this hotel and stayed for three nights and we had no housecleaning services during our entire stay. The hotel is filthy and we inquired about the lack of service on multiple occasions and we were told that they had no help to clean the rooms. We asked politely and professionally to get our rooms comped or significantly reduced in price and they offered us a $10.00 a night discount. We all said that was an unacceptable offer and we plan to elevate this issue to Best Western Corporate. This is the second time we stayed at this hotel and the first time we arrived for one night the heat in the room did not work. We were hiking the Appalachian trail for three days and coming back to a room with no clean towels and no soap is unacceptable. Finally, this hotel caters to contractors who are working on a electric substation and they all come in drunk and obnoxious every night. This was observed on two nights. I have never stayed in a hotel before where the rooms were not cleaned and I would not recommend this place to an animal or a human. I tried to work this issue out with the manager who has worked there for 20 years and she said there are five owners she has to get approval from all of them to make this right. Wrong place to stay-avoid at all costs. We also were traveling with a Congressman from Virginia. This hotel is a dump.

Unfortunately, my stay was a day after a snow storm and I was very disappointed to not have ANY of the sidewalks shoveled or cleaned. Not even salt to help melt the snow. It was treacherous the following day walking on the ice. We had to walk in the snow to prevent from falling.

We stay at this Best Western property several times a year on our way to visit our grandchildren and have always been satisfied. It is comfortable, very convenient to I-81 and reasonably priced. We recommend it.

Had a very nice stay at this Best Western in Wytheville. My wife and I were on a road trip, and arrived very late, after midnight. I'm used to waiting for a long time when arriving late, but here someone was right at the front desk to greet us, with a big smile, and had us checked in within about 60 seconds flat. Really nice start to the stay. Our room was spacious, and very clean, with a fridge about double the size of most. A nice bathroom, too, with plenty of extra towels, and an extra-wide tub (nice for showering in). And great water pressure, too, which I always appreciate. It was very quiet, all night and all morning, which was impressive considering that it's just a minute or two from the highway. I loved the breakfast bar. They had biscuits, sausage gravy and eggs, plus a wide choice of bagels, other breads, several types of coffee, and at least six kinds of cereal. Great to have that kind of choice. And a nice dining room, too, with a cool round fireplace in the middle and a view of the pool. Check out was really quick, with another really friendly staffperson. We would definitely stay here again!

Disgusting. We've stayed here a few times and loved it but we're definitely not coming back after this. Bed bugs, blood stained pillows, dirty shower, dead stink bugs on the windowsill, and filthy bed sheets. I strongly advise you to look elsewhere until they get this sorted out.

This was our worst experience of our entire trip. We arrived in our room at 8:05 pm, got organized for the night then turned down the bed. YUCK! The sheets were rumpled with fresh dirt/blood. The housekeeper had made the top of the bed look fresh but not bothered to change the bedding! We called the front desk at 8:20, again at 8:40 and at 9:00 a man showed up to change the bedding. We were finally able to get to bed at 9:25. Perhaps the housekeepers are paid piece work and are expected to take shortcuts. The Manager DID make it right with us the next morning. But it was an uncomfortable stay regardless.

We like to stay on top floor to avoid some noise. Staff is very nice. Coffee is good any time of the day. Great lobby to sit quietly in the early morning hours. Breakfast is good but if your on a low carb diet you have few choices. We also agree the bed is probably one of the top 2 comfy beds we have stayed in at different hotels.

The hotel is somewhat hidden behind a couple other hotels on a dark, dead end road, but there were many others staying there. It seemed as though many Canadians were using this hotel as a stopover during long road trips (as we were). Front desk staff was friendly. There didn't seem to be any elevators to the second floor (there were only two floors), so be prepared to drag your luggage up the stairs. Entrances from the parking lot were convenient. The rooms were standard and clean. The bathroom contained standard, hotel-sized beauty products. Our particular bathroom was having problems with the over the lighting and so a floor-lamp was set between the vanity and toilet. The tv was large and stations were plentiful. The breakfast location was cramped. Everyone was always in everyone else's way. As you waited for your bagel or toast, you stood in front of someone's cereal. If you waited for the juice dispenser, you were in everyone's way! The sausages and scrambled eggs were runny and oily, but breakfast was included. Overall, a comfortable but ample place to spend the night!

This place was a great find for an overnight stay for the family on the way from Florida to NY. It was slightly out of our way, but worth it for the nice clean room at 70 dollars! I couldn't have been happier. The free coffee and breakfast was the standard offering from hotels in this price range. The breakfast area was clean, updated, and well-stocked. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

As a Platinum BW member, I was surprised by problems we faced here. Staff was pleasant and check-in and out easy, however, the shower emitted only scalding water and the fan sounded like it would explode. The dining area around a fireplace was nice for breakfast but the food was not appealing. This place seems somewhat tired and could use a bit of renewal.

I could have used an elevator for 2nd floor. Room was great except sink was very low, hard on back, best room door key cards I have ever used and easy doors, even holding 2 cups of coffee and with a broken finger they worked so easily, closed well but no slamming. Lobby kind of like a lodge, cozy.

A great stop for travellers with a good restaurant close by. You can easily walk. Wytheville was an old stop on the great Lakes Road. Still fills that role. Hotel is set back further from main road and interstate. Sits on down side of slight hill. Very quiet so good night sleep. The rooms on the inner yard are quieter...overlook the pool.

Very happy with our decision to stay here. Clean, spacious, friendly, good breakfast. Lobby/breakfast area had the looks of a western lodge. Very inviting. Pet friendly even though we did not have our pet with us, we appreciated their attentiveness. Dog treats available on lobby check-in desk, and even though we didn't see it, we heard they have a fenced in dog area. Good price for overnight stay. Will stay again when in the area.

Decided to stay here as we had BW gift cards plus it was the half way point on our journey home. What a pleasant surprise after a long day's drive. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful lady who made check in quick and easy. Our first impression was how very clean everything was. Our first floor king room was very comfortable and most importantly quiet. We didn't realize that most of the rooms around us were occupied until we went for breakfast. The breakfast options were one of the best we have seen at a BW. The eating area was large and bright and is part of their lobby. You simply can't beat staying here for their reasonable rates. On our next trip to Florida we will be planning to return.

Driving through the area I needed a room that accepts pets, isn't too expensive and clean! I reserved a room here ahead of time based on others travelers reviews. I wasn't disappointed. The lady who check me in in the evening was amazing,,so friendly, efficient and polite! The lobby was clean and gave a feeling of a well kept hotel. The room was clean, close to the door as I'd requested, and quiet. Being below 32 degrees F I did not check out the pool, and I checked out before breakfast was served so I didn't get a chance to check out the breakfast options. The only negative was the lady who was at the front desk when I checked out, she was chatting on the phone and just waved at me as i left my keys on the desk. Oh well. There is a small fenced areas for pets in the back, a nice touch for dogs that need a stretch after a long day navigating down I77 or I81. The price for my room was excellent. This was my first stay here, and would stay again providing the price was right!

reasonably priced dog friendly hotel, right off highway but a bit hard to find, tucked behind other hotels, clean, grass to walk fido, good internet, little drive to get food, map of village across highway would be nice, quick overnight stop and easy to get on highway in morning

We stay here every time we pass through. This place never disappoints. The rooms are clean, the price great, and the breakfast outstanding. The only short fall this time was a bit of a temperature issue in the room. Controlling it between too hot and too cold was a bit of a challenge, but it was unseasonably cold out so that may have been the cause. We plan on returning, no question.

I visited the hotel in December and it was clean and staff was friendly. It looks like there is a nice outdoor pool for use in the summer. There are a few local places to grab some food but no nightlife or anything like that. Overall I'd recommend.

After trying to outrun the snow storm and getting caught, this was our port from the storm. This is our second stay here and it was even better. Great customer service, comfortable beds, nice shower, clean room, and they even have a fenced in dog area. A Wonderful stay and well priced.

This Best Western has large and clean rooms. Also a very friendly and helpful staff, and very important to us, it is pet friendly, with a small charge that is worthwhile. The beds were very comfortable and helped sleeping in a different place acceptable. The continental breakfast is well stocked and had several breakfast options, from making your own waffles to cereal & pastries, with juice choices, and fruit and yogurt . The coffee was good and hot, especially on a cold morning! We are repeat customers, and this is why we are!

This was the first time we've stayed at a Best Western. The hotel was comfortable, convenient to the freeway and restaurants and the staff was very professional and helpful. We will definitely consider staying with Best Western on our next trip.

Our arrival was late but we were received with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. The beds were excellent and the breakfast had plenty to offer both hot and cold selections. Staff called guests by name which was excellent. I look forward to returning to this inn.

The rate was good for the room. 2 small items for improvement that I didn't even bother to mention to the staff since they were non issues. The bed linen seemed clean but looked as if someone had been in the room before and remade the bed. Possibly just the linens were wrinkled. The breakfast has a nice selection but could have been much improved if there was a microwave to warm up some premade items. I was surprised at the quality of the hotel as Best Western is not usually a name I associate with this standard

Booked last minute on way to Florida. Received a great rate for a king room which was clean with an etroridinary king bed. Firm. Gave a great nights sleep. Location was right off I-77S . Their breakfast was superb and filled us till mid afternoon on our drive to Florida stay here for best value and comfort . Carpeting could be updated . Easily overlooked

Hotel is right off I-77. Staff is friendly. Room was spacious and reasonably clean. Bed was very comfortable. Walking distance to the Sage stakehouse (which was very good and reasonabley priced). Complementary breakfast was good. Good value for the money.

Spending a few days here, we had an amazing time! The guest services are truly kind, the rooms are clean with comfortable beds! A beautiful view included! Did I mention coffee in the lobby 24 hours a day?!?? Loved it!!!

This was a nice hotel for a quick over night stay. It is easy access on and off the interstate. The little town had a vey nice restaurant, The log House. Also had a Walmart and several stores that were easy access from the hotel. It was a area where we felt safe moving around.

The hotel is just adjacent to the highway interchange of Interstate 81 and 77 but situated on a hill on a two lane country road. At night the area surrounding the hotel is quite dark but not intimidating.( The hotel grounds have adequate lighting) In the morning the views of rolling hills and mountains are gorgeous. It was a relaxing and very quiet night's stay.The staff is very attentive and friendly. The room was large, clean and included a mini fridge and micro wave. A hot breakfast was included with plenty of well stocked items and food choices. The breakfast area is well appointed and the tables are located in an raised platform in a gazebo style setting all finished in natural wood with large windows overlooking the exterior pool area. The functioning gas fireplace in the table area was a nice touch. The hotel seems to have been recently remodeled or upgraded with newly painted walls, carpeting and amenities. A good choice to spend a night. There are no elevators in the hotel, so someone with mobility issues should consider 1st floor only. There are a couple negatives among all the pluses. One- The safety grab bar at the large tub was placed on the farthest point from the tub edge. It should be at the end wall so that entry and egress from the tub is facilitated. Two- The hallway ceilings have been finished in a dropped ceiling tile motif. It has an uneven shoddy fit and finish and gives the impression it will fall apart any second. I'm not implying it is unsafe, but it distracts from the attractive, professional fit and finish of the rest of the facility.

Stayed here on our return trip from Florida. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They recommended an excellent restaurant that delivered, as we were quite tired from the drive. Room was quiet and comfortable. Got a very good nights sleep before continuing our journey home.

The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. I was made to feel welcome like an old friend come to visit. Everything was clean, the bathroom was spotless, the internet was speedy so what is there to complain about? The beds gave us a good night's rest and the breakfast was more than plentiful. We will certainly choose to stop here next time we come this way.

Read several reviews and could not see but 2 out of many that was negative. I also needed a pet friendly hotel and this one was and the fee was 0nly $ 10.00. The bed was really confortable and I slept solid all night. The breakfast was pretty good too.

In an town with multiple choices, this is our first choice. The location has a beautiful mountain view. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is consistently helpful and pleasant. The cost is reasonable. We visit this area often and have stayed at other hotels there but have now made this site our go-to hotel. Highly recommend.

The hotel was clean and well maintained. We stayed one night and really only used as a stopover, and it was well worth it for this purpose. Friendly staff, nice refurbished room. We would stay at this hotel again.

We stayed here based on TripAdvisor reviews even though it was about 10 miles off of our route. It was worth it. Good value, comfortable beds, helpful staff. Lots of grassy area for large dog to walk. I did not see a poop bag station - maybe it was elsewhere - but grass was pretty clean regardless. Beds are comfortable. You can tell fixtures in the bathroom were older but everything was very clean so that didn't matter. Our side of the hotel was close to the highway. You could hear road noise outside but I didn't notice it inside. Other side has mountain views - next time I will ask for one of those rooms. Breakfast was typical things and food area and eating area were kept clean. We have had trouble finding good dog friendly hotels in the Blacksburg area. This is about 8 miles S of I-77 to Charlotte so it was out of our way but it was worth the extra miles.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was nice and clean, the continental breakfast had a good variety and the hot food was a good temperature. I would recommend this Best Western family and friends, if traveling with your pet the charge was only ten dollars.

Our group of 4 has stayed at this hotel a number of times on our way home from golfing in South Carolina. It's a convenient location not far off the interstate and close to gas and restaurants. Good value for the money.

My husband and I stayed here one night on our trip north. We were looking for a Best Western in the area because we wanted to use our Rewards points. It was not necessarily easy to find, but they had good signage, so between that and my GPS, we found it ok. We had no complaints about the room or the breakfast. I particularly liked the shower, because I could adjust the water temperature and volume separately. I would stay here again.

We always stay at this hotel on our way from Ontario to Florida. About a 9 hours drive so good for our first day. The Sagebrush bar/restaurant is close by & a great place to relax & enjoy good bar food. We have always found the hotel to be clean, the staff friendly & good value for money. This year we stayed the night on Oct 21 & again were not disappointed. When we arrived in Florida 2 days later I realized I had lost my iPhone so was in panic mode! After making several phone calls to places we had been, I called the BW in Wytheville. A housekeeper had handed my phone in & after describing my screen saver picture they quickly arranged to mail it Priority Post & I received it 3 days later. A special thanks to Scarlet at reception & the housekeeper Anjala (?). This sort of experience will definitely mean we'll be staying here next time!

Stayed there twice in a weeks time. Great Value for your buck. Breakfast was good. Had plenty of options. The room was clean and organized. Staff was helpful on any questions I asked. The hotel was located right off the highway which was easy. The only issue maybe that the hotel was behind other hotels. So maybe a larger sign and lighting showing the entrance to the hotel.

The staff did not consider senior guests needs. Orange juice was not orange juice. The fruit was warm, poured from a can. I have problems walking, but there were no luggage carts at the front entrance. I was told to go back to the end of the hall, "Sometimes they get pushed back there.

The Best Western Hotel in Wytheville is a very convenient place to stay overnight as is is very close to the interstate highway. This is my second stay there and I find the rooms very clean and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was good, although I would like to have seen more fresh fruit available, like oranges and bananas. The woman at the reception desk was wonderful...very helpful and friendly. Very much appreciated after a 12 hour drive! Would definitely stay there again next year on our way to South Carolina....sort of a halfway point.

Room was filthy, bathtub black, sink cracked, A/C unit had fan issue and kept us awake, water drain from floor above at head of bed (very noisy), bad odor, dust build up in floors, only middle of the floor vacuumed, only top of furniture dusted. We were in Room 109. Horrible stay. Didn't sleep at all and could not wait to leave.

Breakfast was very poor and the cutlery in plastic We found cockroaches in the room and I got bites on both arms The location is good though and we found nice restaurants downtown There are some terrific hikes to do around The WIFI was very slow and we couldn't use it on Saturday night

Non smoking hotel, hotel in need of a makeover, room and building cleaning needs addressing. If all you eat is a waffle, breakfast OK, Coffee avail. all day in the lobby. Hotel security good. Resturants close by,

Outdated and poorly decorated common areas, like reception, dining and main hall. All too small to accommodate all guests at breakfast time (lack of room, waiting for table, overcrowded). Serving breakfast on plastic and styrofoam, that's the new low. Only continental breakfast. Very loud climate control unit, causing sleep problems. Uninviting room decor, asking for more light.

Room was not clean p looked like it had not been vacuumed in weeks, bathroom had soap scum in the tub - did they forget to scrub the tub?. Staff was not overly friendly. I will never stay at this location again. I suggest you stay at one of the other hotels in Wytheville.

My room as well as another patron down the hall had rooms that smelled very badly and in much need of a good cleaning and repairs. I stayed because they kindly accepted our pet, but that is the only reason. Has alot of potential but needs alot of TLC. Positive side, the front desk staff extremely kind and friendly....

Great place to stay, clean rooms, friendly employees, great breakfast selection, quiet location, easy access just off the interstate 77 and 85. Will stay there the next time I am in Wytheville and when traveling will consider Best Western Motels.

We have stayed at several motels all over and we have found the Best Western to be more consistant with cleanliness, comfort, and price. The staff is eager to please and with the highest regards to please their customers.

Staff was helpful. Breakfast was adequate, Did not have oatmeal that my wife likes.Not very far to good restaurants. Did use very many of the amenities. We were ther only one night.We were upgrades from a bedroom with two full size beds to one with two queen beds at no additional cost.

We had traveled MANY hours that day and with a bad back, I was exhausted! Called the hotel and the had only one room left which was a large jacuzzi tub in the room. I grabbed it and it was the best night ever! All my aches were relaxed and not near as as bad when I went to bed. Thank you for a good nights sleep!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were clean and comfy. The room was fairly clean. The location was very convenient with several good restaurants nearby.The breakfast items were waffles, apples, fruit cocktail, yogurt, biscuits and gravy, bagles, cereal and some kind of flat egg (which I would not recommend)

Though this is definitely a no-frills motel we have stayed there many times and will again. It is in the right place to break our 14-hour trip and it is very dog friendly. There are many places to eat close by, and it just plain works for us, but don't expect luxury.

The breakfast was best ever ate in Hotel. The cleanliness was above standards and great atmosphere. Staff was very helpful and friendly. the location was great also, right off the highway. Mattress was very comfy.

One night stop heading to Myrtle beach. The king room was nice and the Jacuzzi tub was great. Didn't try the breakfast bar. It was easy to find off of the interstate. A lot of restaurants in the area.

We stayed for one night with two children under two and the overall room was highly unclean. Out feet stuck to the carpets making us wear shoes the whole time and the beds had hairs in them leading us to believe they were unclean. The shower drain clogged very quickly so you were standing in your shower water the whole time. Staff was friendly but this could not make up for the unclean room.

We had to evacuate for Irma and found your hotel. The staff is amazing. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet even when full. I will definitely be back for some fun I. Wytheville. The town is so friendly. Thank you!!!

Older hotel but recently re-modeled, quick on & off I-95 and close to a variety of attractions such as a dinner theater, old quaint cities with wineries and restaurant's. Great mountain views and hiking trails as well as sporting/racing events within a short drive.

Clean, rooms, friendly staff , just off the interstate with minimum noise level and great view. We would stay there again if we are in the area. Staff was well informed about the area and breakfast was very good. Love the 24 hour coffee and tea availability.

Conveniently located with easy access to and from I-77 but far enough removed to eliminate traffic noise. Staff was friendly and efficient. Hotel was older but well maintained and the room was clean and comfortable. Sagebrush Steakhouse is close by and a good stop for dinner with food was reasonably priced and quite good. Definitely would stay here again.

It was tucked away and I was a little concerned at first but upon my arrival i was pleasantly suprised. The lobby was beautiful. Reception was friendly and fast. The room was clean and comfortable for us. I traveled with my 2 girls and we all 3 felt very safe at our late night arrival. Several motorcycles were in the parking lot so very bike friendly. Would stay again.

Nice place. Guest services good. Liked Breakfast (except for the eggs). Did have concerns over a running toilet. Air Conditioner helped cover that sound. Would recommend and hope to stay there again. The bed was great, pillows too. Really appreciated the refrig with freezer/ ice box and the extra plugs in the nightstand for charging the cell phone. The pool was a little cool but the tub made up for that. Lots of friendly folks traveling. What else is to be said Give it a try.

Clean and comfortable. Exterior looked a bit rough but the room was clean. Lobby also clean but Just a bit outdated. Staff was friendly. Could use some better breakfast items. Healthier options. But what was there was okay.

Room was clean but had a distinct musty smell. Air Conditioner was not on when we arrived in the room, so room was hot. I suspect this was a cost saving measure. Breakfast was okay. I would like to have had fresh oatmeal rather than oatmeal out of a package. Coffee was good. Price per night was excellent. Staff were professional and efficient.
