Best Western Plus Thornburg Inn & Suites

I wanted my fiancé' and I to have a pleasant stay and cook our own meals instead of the high cost of eating out. We brought food for 2 nights but were unable to cook because they're was no pots or pans, or plates or glasses. Not even silverware or utensils to cook with. It had a nice refrigerator and a single burner stove. Plenty of drawers and cabinets, all empty though.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, made us feel welcome! Rooms were great size, and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was nice, good choices and friendly staff. Lots of coffee choices was a nice bonus.

Every area of the building was super clean! The staff members were accommodating and genuinely friendly. Nice breakfast selection including potatoes, sausage gravy, pancakes, biscuits, oatmeal, fresh fruit, cereals, and more. The 24 hour coffee bar came in handy when we had to head out at 4am to get ahead of a snow storm.

This is the 3rd time I've stayed at this hotel which is very convenient to I-95. For the money you get an immaculate room, a friendly, professional staff and a nice breakfast to boot. My room was basically $105 for the night and that included all taxes, etc. This hotel has become my I-95 corridor hotel when traveling between Florida and the Sri-state area.

This hotel was one that my friend was staying at for work reasons and so I booked a room to be able to spend free time together when he was not working. The place was nice and comfortable. He was disappointed the pool was being renovated but I still think we had a good time.

My room smelled very sweaty. Apparently there is a policy against matching prices advertised on the Best Western website. Adding this to get to the 200 character minimum... Almost there, any couple of words now

My wife and I were headed north from Florida to visit relatives along the I-95 corridor. I am a Best Western Rewards member. I always look at their properties first. The BW+ Thornburg was just what we were looking for!!

Our one-night stay in September 2023 was clean, comfortable and priced fairly. The hotel is easy access from 95 and the front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. Would stay again if passing through.

Best Western is our hotel of choice for traveling. Best Western of Thornburg is one of the nicest Best Western hotels we have stayed at. We have stayed there before and will again. It is definitely worth the stop for a good night's rest.

We stayed here because of stellar reviews and it was right off 95. However we found garbage and beetles in our room which was a major turnoff. The breakfast was unfortunately not very good: sausage under cooked and nothing really appetizing.

From checkin thru checkout, all employees were helpful and always greeted guests with a smile. I'm recommending it to others in my company. The facilities were perfect, clean, and comfortable. I would stay here again.

If your travelling to south Florida from Montreal, this Best Western is an excellent mid point after a long day. The staff is very kind, price is reasonable, very clean, very conformable and the breakfast is super, especially the do it yourself pancake machine.

We only stayed the one night while passing thru but we will definitely use this location again. The front desk staff were friendly and courteous. We enjoyed the next mornings continental breakfast area. There was a decent selection available even for a later morning departure. Most notable was the breakfast area cleanliness. It was excellent. With all the current health concerns today, we found the eating area was sanitized and very well maintained.

First time staying at this hotel, it was very clean and comfortable place to stay. Breakfast was very fresh and hot, with a big assortment of breakfast items. Staff was really friendly and helpful in all ways. King size bed was comfortable! Room was clean… Shower had plenty of hot water! Nice place to stay…

Great location for a quick overnight stay, right off I95. Easy on and easy off. Everything was great, front desk staff was very welcoming. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was hot and plentiful.

Friendly and helpful staff, clean facility and very good breakfast offering. Conveniently located to I-95 and excellent restaurants. There are the usual chain restaurants in the area. But, there are excellent local restaurants within a mile of the hotel (Italian, 10 out of 10, very good Mexican).

This was my first time at a BW. The price was excellent, the room was very clean and no odors! The counter staff took their time and were extremely friendly! I liked it so much, I signed up for their rewards program.

The room was very spacious and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was so good. Loved how it had a TV in the living room and the bedroom. The front desk assistant was very friendly and helpful when we checked in.

My grandmother always taught me that the difference between good and excellent lies in attention to detail. Attention to detail is where this property falls short. The staff at the front desk was excellent; kind and courteous. The hallways were dimly lit, akin to the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, were badly in need of a vacuuming, and the large wheeled janitorial garbage cans in the hallway (on every floor) took away any sense of being upscale. The elevators similarly needed a sweeping out. The beds were comfortable, but the grime in the bathroom floor corners and dust on the ledge had been overlooked. The room was comfortable, albeit a little dated; the carpet in the room has what appeared to be grease stains. The internet was abysmal. The pool is nice, but the room is badly in need of ventilation. Two minutes in the room left us with burning eyes. The door had a rust-like goo on the handle. A cleaning with some Barkeeper's Friend would do it well. Breakfast was average. I choose this property for the ratings, but they get exaggerated once I saw the place. Certainly not a bad place to stay, but lacking in attention to detail with so much more potential.

We recently stayed at the Best Western Plus Thornburg location, arrived @ 1am, Eddy checked us in, was very patient, professional and informative. We as settled into our room, we discovered the A/C wasn't working as Eddy advised us to setup. I called down to speak to him regarding how to fix, again he was very patient, immediately assured us he would help us get resolved. He called us back, walked my husband through a couple of steps and fixed the issue. He was so nice and beyond helpful and thanks to Eddy, we had a quick, pleasant night rest! Thank you Eddy!!

We were visiting Fredericksburg for the first time and found this hotel to be within a reasonable distance and reasonably priced with of course great reviews : ) Check-in was fast and friendly, our room was clean, and the pool looked very nice (indoor) though we didn't use it while here and they have a nice fitness room (though a couple of the machines were out of order). And then their secret weapon: Robert! Robert is the breakfast attendant who was super friendly, did a great job, seemed to know his regulars who visited, and was just such a nice guy. Hotels offer a commodity that can be had anywhere, the difference is always in people and service and this hotel is blessed to have Robert representing them and their brand. Great job Robert and great job to this hotel, thank you for making our time here special.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean,quiet and comfy. Only negative thing was the pool looked a little cloudy. The breakfast was normal hotel breakfast food. The breakfast area was spotless. I would definetly stay here again.

We made a quick decision when traveling for vacation to stay and pulled off the highway. The hotel was perfect! Two restaurants to choose for dinner on the same property. Pool was warm and breakfast was delicious. (Personal pancake maker was sweet!) All the amenities you need tv, Internet, ice, coffee 24/7. Room was clean and spacious , also quiet. We went back a for a second night on the way home from traveling.

We enjoyed our Easter Weekend at the hotel visiting our son and cheering on the Fredericksburg Nationals! Thank you for taking good care of the players- We felt welcomed and enjoyed the kitchenette suite. Large room and comfy beds-looking forward yo our next trip with Best Western -

Room was clean and very well maintained. Staff was welcoming and efficient. Hot breakfast was served, clean breakfast room. This was the best stay we had while on the road for two weeks. Would definitely recommend. Hotel is just off the highway.

After driving from FL we looked for a Best Western chain since we loved the one we stopped at on the way to FL. This hotel was in a safe area. The front desk was friendly & helpful. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Everything we needed was there. The beds were soooo comfortable, as were the pillows and blankets. They had a good selection of cable channels too. The free breakfast was good, but a few more options would have been nice. Great value for the price. Overall we really enjoyed our stop here and will definitely stop there again next time!

Called needing a room at 2am while traveling. Staff was very helpful offered a late check out. Check in was quick Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Had nice personal care products. Offers a military discount. Also offers a full breakfast.

I reserved one night here during my last road trip. I arrived to a very pleasant front desk staff. Katherine spoke clearly for me to understand everything the first time, even with her mask on. Being hearing impaired, I really appreciated the excellent speaking skills. Thank you Katherine. The Room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Everything in the room worked. Internet, hot water, TV, etc. Breakfast was OK. The Mini Apple and Walnut Danishes were excellent. I was told they're baked fresh on site. Everything at this facility met my expectations, from the very reasonable price to the ample parking to the well appointed room, thus excellent marks. It would be my first choice if I ever need to stay overnight in this area again.

This is my go to hotel whenever I head down to Va. The price and value are amazing, conveniently located off exit 118 in Thornburg, where there are plenty of gas stations, McDonald's and a Taco Bell in a very short walking distance. The breakfast here is included and is a great service.

We stopped here at the end of our first day on the road from Syracuse, NY to FL. Lovely hotel with a pleasant lobby. The room was well appointed, especially appreciated the plugs on the bedside tables to charge all our “stuff.” The room was very clean and quiet with a very comfortable bed; got a great night's sleep. Very nice hot breakfast with a lovely attendant. All of the staff were very pleasant and both check-in and check-out were quick and painless! Can't recommend it enough! PS. You might want to avoid the Taco Bell next door. Food was well-prepared but service was a nightmare.

We are starting to travel more since my retirement and are learning more about choosing hotels. We have tried low cost places and higher cost places and our favorite is Best Western for the balance of price and service in a place we feel very comfortable and refreshed.

This hotel was in an great location. I was able to get around quickly. I did some shopping and eating. I really like that they had an indoor pool. Great for some much need exercise in the water. I also even visited some of my old stomping grounds during my military services.

We drive to Myrtle beach a few times a year. This is the place to stay. Smack in the middle between NY and MB. Great breakfast great beds great service . Would definitely recommend this hotel for o anyone

I have stayed at a few Best Westerns and have never had a problem at either of them. They breakfast attendant lady was friendly and attentive. The ladies at check in and check out were both friendly and polite as well.

This BWP was in a very good area with plenty of interesting things to do around the area with short time frame to get there. We traveled all around the area and found a NASCAR race track about 1 mile away. There are other activities in the surrounding area that we also attended. We had a wonderful time and will stay again in the future.

Was centrally located for what we wanted to do. Close to excellent restaurants and shopping malls. Hotel was very well kept. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great.Would stay there again.

We have been staying here twice a year for the pass 5 or 6 years ever since they opened and we were always pleased and impressed by the staff and the cleanliness. Last spring and on this trip we've noticed a big change the rooms are not cleaned properly the carpets aren't vacuumed and this time the bathroom wasn't clean someone had used the toilet leaving behind poop in it . There was also dirt in the bed. The front desk clerk is very nice and immediately came up with a key for new room this time a suite again the floors aren't clean and after returning from dinner there was a large bug on the ceiling of the bedroom my husband stood on a chair to kill it .If we weren't so tired we would've left . I'm so disappointed and if it wasn't for the front desk clerk I would've given it zero stars it was such a nice hotel now it needs a thorough cleaning and updating .

Staff were awesome. Clean place and surroundings. Room clean. Bed no bugs. Yup. Highly recommend. Keep up the amazing work and work ethic. Feels like you're staying with the family. The ones you like lol.

This hotel was excellent. Last minute need to spend the night. Night stay is a little expensive. Has an awesome view and has 8 floors. Shower was great and room was relaxing. Only thing I missed was a hat rack.

The service, cleanliness, comfort and amenities all are top notch. I highly recommend looking for a Best Western Plus when you're on the road and ready to stop at a hotel that is far better than any other you'll find.

Beds were very firm which was perfect for our backs. Breakfast was hot and cold with a decent variety. Rooms were cleaned. Staff except kitchen person were very nice. Price was extremely reasonable. Window Sheers were shredded and toilet paper holder was too big for the roller. Neither of which seemed to be a big issue. Was a very comfortable place to stay. We will be back. I usually stay at Marriott but this is clean & stood out for my standards. Very clean, quiet and affordable for a walked in stay. Forget marriot i am now going for the Best western hotels. Keep up the good work.

Windows leaked air. Smelled cigs from downstairs. Bed was hard as a rock. Lighting sucked. No good TV channels at all. Shower head sprays sideways. Also you could hear the people above you being loud.

This was a very convenient, quiet hotel and a great choice for a road stop. It's a fairly large 8-story property set far enough from the highway and the Dominion Raceway to not hear traffic. The hotel was fully booked with some traveling sports teams the night we stayed, but we didn't hear any noise from the other guests. Staff was very pleasant. The room was clean and spacious enough, with 2 queen beds and a sofa. The hot breakfast was very good. There are not many restaurant options in the immediate area - just a couple of fast food joints. So plan on that. I'd stay here again for sure.

We stayed at this Hotel while we were recreating at Lake Anna. Its about 25-30 min from the Lake. The value is tremendous...under a $100/night. The staff was very friendly, the rooms and common areas are clean, the breakfast is great...there is a lady that runs the breakfast, she is awesome! Makes sure that little boys don't take too much off the buffet and there is enough for everyone! ;)

Convenient location off I-95 and nearest modern hotel to Lake Anna. We were a group of 7 in town for a wedding. Staff was exceptional. Condition of property is above average and rooms are spacious with everything you need. However, noise from highway, fast food drive thrus and nearby racetrack constant. One of our 3 rooms had leftover food in the fridge which turned moldy and disgusting. All 3 rooms experienced poor drainage in tubs and low water pressure. Our suite had sewer smell coming from kitchen sink drain - had to switch rooms. Staff was very helpful.

The staff were helpful. Room was fine, but not luxurious, obviously. Overall appearance of hotel and rooms could be updated, yet fine and very clean. The location suited as I had a very late arrival and I my reservation at another overbooked. Thus, I booked here very late and was happy with the friendly staff after a less than happy day. I would reccomend this hotel.

The average person probably would not be traveling through this area but if you found find yourself in this vicinity I would definitely stay here in fact we are going back again. And my hats off to May who serves breakfast. She's a sweetheart and most helpful and accommodating especially during this Covid situation. Management should definitely treasure and reward her!

Breakfast was the best and the lady fixing it was even better so nice friendly and loving. Overall stay was good nice clean rooms plenty of towels n toiletry. The only down fall was tv remotes did not work after two of them i gave up. I thought being a valued rewards member would get a first floor since we booked early but that did not matter we ended up on sixth floor other than that it was decent.

The best staff I have ever met. Friendly, informative, met with great expectations. If have a chance to go for a stay it the place to meditate, and relax. Room was clean , sanitized. Lobby was clean and staff practice health, safe hazardous plan.

We returned to this hotel after a very nice experience last year. They are so accommodating and easy to deal with. Even with the Corona virus situation, we were treated to a comfortable, well-appointed and friendly place. A stay next year? Maybe!

Stayed here July 2020 on our way down to Naples, FL. It was very clean in the lobby, elevators and rooms. They seem to be doing a great job keeping up with COVID-19 precautions. There is a convenient, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen and Shell Station. We called for rates but, saved about $10.00 by reserving online. The lobby attendant didn't mind that we said we'd do it on line and was very polite when we arrived a few minutes later. She allowed us to do immediate check-in which is huge when you've been driving all night!

Stayed here during the height of the virus. Decided on Best Western after getting an email from them describing how they were maintaining safe and healthy hotel sites. Hotel was spotless in common areas as was the room. Great breakfast under the circumstances. Would definitely use this inn again.

I stayed with my 2 toddler kids for a night to allow them to get in the indoor pool. They had a lot of fun at the pool and ejoyed the stay away from home. The price was great for a one night get away. We will be doing this again soon.

Unfortunately there was a bed bug found in my bed, and the front desk staff didn't do anything about it. I was bit in the foot and the arm. The front staff did nothing to rectify the problem. They said they were going to send someone up, but they never did.

We needed a hotel room close to our new home under construction and we decided to give the Best Western a try. The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable, quiet room. Although it is located near I-95, there was zero highway noise. Best Western offered free laundry services, which was phenomenal. The breakfast had a very large selection and the staff members went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic! We will definitely stay here again!

I took some much needed days of at the beginning of this year from both my jobs. I ended up staying here for a couple of days before returning back to work, on my BW rewards points. My stay was fantastic. From checking in w/ Julie,( Front Office Manager) , to Jamie assisting me several times and an amazing Breakfast hostess, as well as a friendly Maintenance Engineer. All staff I encountered was friendly , welcoming and professional. The indoor pool was amazing. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Rm 703 was great and had a wonderful view. Conveniently located to Interstate 95. Thanks to the GM and Staff of this BWP. I will return someday.

Clean, breakfast great, staff wonderful, great price. Had everything you need. Besides fast food next door there was an Italian, Chinese and Mexican restaurant very very short drive away. Definitely a must stay if in the area

This hotel is very clean. The rooms are clean and confortable. The breakfast was good. This hotel is very close to I-95. The personel is professionnal and nice. The booking was easy. Price is fair for this quality.

Has stayed at this hotel on many occasions, each stay has been excellent. Love the location and easy on and off exit from Interstate 95, the rooms are new and modern with beautiful amenities. The beds are extremely comfortable and pillows. Exterior and interior of hotel are clean.

Hotel was great. Continental breakfast was not all that tasty. Location is close to highway so very convenient. Easy check in process, no problems checking out either. Will plan on staying again if in the area

We were greeted at reception by a very friendly and helpful member of staff. And after we'd been in our room for a few minutes, she phoned through to ask if everything was to our satisfaction. The room was spacious and very clean, with king bed, a microwave, a fridge, a good sized TV with many channels and a very efficient room heater/AC unit that was controlled from a digital thermostat. Breakfast was excellent. It included eggs, sausage and sautéed potatoes, cereals, bagels waffles, three choices of fruit juice and teas and coffees. The room rates are very competitive and for anyone looking for a hotel in the Fredericksburg area, the Best Western Plus at Thornburg is definitely worth considering.

It was likes staying with family but actually like you. This was my first day at a BW I never thought it would be a place I would like I actually loved it but the cord was lovely as where those working there. I would definitely look for Best Western and my next trip

Our stay was very good. Stopped in early in the day to let them know I would be arriving after 9 PM. When we arrived everything was ready for our check in. Breakfast was very good. Fresh coffee when we arrived at 9 PM/

Be careful here. We've stayed here twice for nearby triathlons and it was what it was - a modest hotel for a quick overnight. This time, our hallway was filthy -- a bag of trash and dirty linens were outside our door, whole grapes and other paper-scrap trash in the hallway. The room appeared clean, it was quiet and the king bed was fine. But the room's carpet pattern was so swirly I wouldn't swear to its cleanliness, let alone the sticky TV remote. Keep your flip-flops on. For whatever reason, they don't appear to be trying real hard.

Best Hospitality in Thornburg. The staff are always ready to make everything perfect One special add on was the free laundry. If your in the area this hotel is the best. Also on the weekends go check out the NASCAR RACES.

After driving for 12 hours and having a infant and family we decided to stay at a best western and came across best western thornburg inn and suites. Clean and quite. Fast check inn hot breakfast clean sheets.

Stayed one night on way to South Carolina. Price was very reasonable, staff very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was ok, only negative comment would be carpeting in room had many stains, but overall cleanliness of room was good. For price would absolutely stay there again.

I enjoyed my stay here; the facility was clean and neat. The best part was the accessibility to stores and fast food (walking distance). All and all a good spot. The rooms were clean, and noise free. The saff was great as well.

I don't seem to get my head around all the US motel/hotel chains. It lacks of consistency at the least. So this is a Best Western Plus, but it doesn't come near the last BW Plus I stayed at (2 days ago). Stayed here 2 nights for a visit to King's Dominion (great park by the way!). Our room was big, yes. But the carpet is old, stained and quite gross. The bathroom is weirdly small. Pillows are lumpy and the you have this this nasty brown prison:ish blanket instead of a duvet. The AC sounded like an old coughing engine while on. I just don't get it!! And, breakfast room had tiny tables. Ok, now I just seems grumpy and maybe I am, but I was looking forward to a better standard with this "plus" since the last one was such a nice experience! On the actual plus side: Pretty good pricing (about 80 dollar/night). And the large room. The room didn't smell bad (but not good either).

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. I travel a lot and it's always a pleasant surprise to find a place that feels like home.

The rugs were disgusting. There was dried something or other on the walls. The a/c units were filthy and noisy. I am not sure why I need to write two hundred characters to advise you of the conditions encountered in my room or the quality of the breakfast offered when "filthy, hot mess" would have sufficed. I have pictures to prove it!

Just off I-95 South of Washington, DC. Nice place, eight floors. Very clean, quiet, good breakfast. Easy on and off I-95. Helpful staff. Great for a quick layover. Close to McDonalds and gas stations.

We stayed one night. I expected more based on the reviews I read before our stay. There was nothing exceptional about this hotel. The staff wasn't rude but they weren't exactly friendly. The rooms were okay. Bathroom was clean. The pool room/area was so hot that we didn't get in. Overall our stay was ok.

Julie at the front desk was absolutely amazing. My room was clean and beautiful. The breakfast and coffee was delicious. The hotel was conveniently located right off the highway near food and gas stations. My stay could not have been better!

My wife and I stopped here for the night on our way to North Carolina. The hotel was much nicer than I expected. The staff is amazing, took the time to make sure that the room was going to be good for my wife, who is handicap. The breakfast was so much more than what I am used to at other hotels. Highly recommend this hotel.

Those working there went out of their way to make our stay pleasant! The beds were very comfortable; among the most comfortable that we've experienced in this level of hotel. The breakfast staff was cheerful and welcoming.

A clean and comfortable stay off of 95. Easy to get to. Pleasant check in and check out. No problems with anything. Went out for a quick bite at Poco Loco Mexican Resturant where the food was great. We had a good nights sleep and was back on the road early after a good breakfast. We would stay again,

We stayed here for a triathlon at Lake Anna. Everything was very clean, pool nice and warm, and the beds comfortable. The suites are well appointed with a large fridge, stove top, and microwave. The suite we had a door to the bedroom which was not in the pictures but what we had been hoping for. Great for kids in one room and adults in the other.

This is an excellent hotel for a comfortable stay. Front desk was courteous and knowledable. Fast food within walking distance, but check out Angela's Italian Restaurant about a half a mile down the road.

The hotel is an easy on/ off of Rt 95 with cheap gas . Katie at the front desk was welcoming , professional and helpful with our late arrival. Room was nicely set up and spacious enough with fridge , desk and comfy chair. Bed was clean and comfy but linens could use an upgrade and breakfast was OK. Not too much in the surrounding area but for the reasonable price and location it was a good fit. Would stay here again, as we are often driving between NC and NY.

The moment that you step foot on the property it has a very welcoming feeling. Everything was clean bright and possesed a certain elegance. Made you feel like you were staying at a fancy hotel. the staff was friendly, helpful. All around a great experience. Will be staying here again very soon

Stayed this past weekend in the king penthouse. Room was very spacious and clean. This is a fairly new hotel entire building was very clean. Front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. Hotel is located in quiet town outside of busy Fredericksburg.

Husband and son were exhausted after a 7 hour drive, but discovered bedbugs as soon as they checked into their room and checked the beds. Had no choice but to move to another hotel. Front desk clerk wasn't overly concerned...hoping account is refunded properly. Waiting to see. So gross and so disappointed. We've never had this happen with a Best Western! (Holiday Inn across the road was able to give them a clean, bug-free room, but it does cost a bit more.)

Second time we're stopping at this hotel, and it's at the top of our list. Constance in the reception was extremely nice and welcoming. It also helped that she had been able to upgrade our room - it helps being a rewards member.

Clean! Inexpensive. Rooms were quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good and there were fresh gluten free offerings. Yes! Easy on/off for the interstate. Good home made Italian restaurant close. . This was the second time we stayed at your hotel going from NY to Florida. It will not be our last.

Hello everyone!!! I just checked in for a night at my favorite Best Western on I95 in Thornburg, Va. This is my second time staying here an and let me tell you...WOW! They really took great care of me.... again... on this trip!!! First, last me day that I am about Western awards member... and so should you be one too! I booked this reservation with my points which was really nice. but their prices are more than fair..... that's why I stay here, besides the location is practically new. Apon arrival, I was greeted by Michael at the front desk. He was very nice and we had some nice conversation. He then offered me bonus points or a snack....I took the snack...chips, chocolate and 2 water bottles. When we got to our room, all I can say is WOW!!! We got a beautiful sweet that has a small kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom. What a pleasant surprise!! See my pics...thanks Best western and Thank you Michael. Oh, and don't forget, breakfast is included and I know that will be great too... that's another reason why I come here, those waffles!

Very nice hotel, easy access on and off of Interstate 95, couple of fast food in walking distance. Amenities are new and modern, rooms are very clean. Have stayed here on several occasions, each time no issues.

As we were traveling north on I-95 the snow started coming down harder so we needed to stop. Stumbled on this property and were so pleasantly surprised. The room was very nice, bathroom was large. Staff were very helpful. Would definitely recommend if you need a place to stay close to the highway.

We came down at 9:00AM-breakfast went to 10:00AM. The juice machine was not working and they only had coffee available. The bagels were so hard you could not eat them. There was hardly any food left and the attendant did not bring any more food out.

We were driving back to Northern Virginia from the Outer Banks in North Carolina. We had already been on the road for a long while and traffic was heavy, rain was pouring, and visibility poor so we decided on the spur of the moment to stop at The Best Western Plus hotel in Thornburg for the night. We were not prepared to have an overnight stay and the experience far exceeded our expectations. Michael, the front desk associate supplied us with tooth brushes, and tooth paste and recommended a nearby restaurant (Poco Loco) for dinner-- which by the way was delicious. The hotel property is relatively new and all amenities were near spotless. The complementary breakfast was welcome and we were on the road again refreshed and satiated.

This relatively new hotel is right off 95. Very clean and modern. Nice furnishings and beautiful meodern bathrooms. Sixth floors. Quiet. Typical breakfast included. A number of nearby restaurants. For under $100/ night this is a great place to stay.

We were traveling north on I-95 and the weather was deteriorating rapidly. Temperatures were nearing freezing and it was raining. The forecast was for freezing rain and dangerous driving conditions. So I made reservations at the Best Western Thornburg Inn & Suites located just off of I-95 in Woodford, VA. That was one of the best decisions I had made in recent history. When we checked in the front desk associate, who I did not get her name, was exceptionally polite, professional and helpful. When asked she directed us to the Poco Loco Mexican Restaurant which was only a 1/2 mile further down the road. That was an outstanding recommendation. It was at the location of the original Mudd Tavern, for which the road had apparently gotten its name. Dinner and service was outstanding. Again, I do not know the name of that front desk associate, but I vote her employee of the month. One very pleasant surprise was my best Western reward points and account was still active. I had 47,000 points in my account and I had not stayed in a Best Western Hotel in over 20 years. I had since earned Platinum Premiere Elite status in the Marriott Hotel Corporation so I tend to stay at those hotels. Based on my stay at the Best Western Thornburg Inn & Suites I will rethink that commitment to Marriott Corporation. We were very pleased with our stay at the Best Western Thornburg Inn & Suites.

My husband and I booked this room as a stop over on our way to see our son play football. We checked in about 11pm and out by 10 am so we were not there very long. The hotel looked to be very new or newly renovated, from the lobby to the guest room. Check in and check out were very quick and easy. It was conveniently located off the highway. I liked that the bathroom was very well-lit. There was a nice selection for the included breakfast - eggs, bacon, French toast sticks, assorted breads (English muffins, toast, bagels), fruit, oatmeal or grits (not sure which), yogurts, hard boiled eggs, and a waffle station (2). I LOVED that they had French vanilla coffee mate for the coffee!!! Having traveled around the past four years to all of my son's games, this hotel was definitely a great value for the price, especially since it included the free breakfast.

Everything was very nice. It's wonderful to have breakfast available with so many options.The only real critism is the shower. The shower is very slippery and if you wash your hair and use cream rinse I recommend putting a towel in the floor of the bath. Also put extra towels on the floor around bath because water leaks from the shower. Corner guards would fix this. Despite this, my husband and will continue to stay at Best Western.

Everything about the experience was pleasant. Just off the interstate, I arrived about 8 pm and parked in a well lit lot. Checked in and clerk was friendly. I have Best Western Rewards and he gave me an upgrade without my having to ask. The king suite was quiet, clean, spacious, comfortable bed, and nice full kitchen. Breakfast was tasty with REAL eggs (not powdered), OJ tasted real as well. Business center was helpful, and morning clerk was also very nice. I even really liked their complimentary shampoo. Highly recommend.

We stayed here after going to Kings dominion and this hotel was at a good location for our drive the next day. The rooms were clean and brightly lit all around. Breakfast was good with hot fillings (eggs and sausage) to make a breakfast sandwich. The area around the hotel was quite populated right off the highway, again well lit at night.

This hotel is a great place to stay if you are traveling and need a place to spend the night, or if you pan on spending time in Virginia and you are near Thornburg. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean The breakfast was wonderful. There is a lot to choose from and the woman (Daisy) who is in charge of breakfast made cheese omelets the day we were there with bacon and grits. sliced warm apples, pancakes, and even waffles. Plus yogurt, cereal, fruit etc...

Popcorn and Oreo cookies were found on room floor. A piece of rice and many pieces of hair found between bedsheets in the bed. Breakfast lady refused to refill waffle batter 20 minutes before breakfast ended.

Weekend trip to Kings dominion, this hotel was excellent loved the indoor pool. Room was clean, breakfast was good. Staff was friendly, overall great stay. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Stayed for one night on our way to Myrtle Beach. Close to I-95. There is a McDonald's, Taco Bell, and Dairy Queen within walking distance. Also, several gas stations nearby. They provide free breakfast but it wasn't the greatest.

We (my family) stopped in Thornburg on our way north and spent a night at this Best Western. The staff was friendly and helpful and our room was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this Best Western for anyone staying in the area.

We have stayed here several times this year and last. I cannot say enough about the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff here. The rooms have always been impeccably clean. The hotel is approximately 30 minutes from Lake Anna where we keep our boat.

Wasn't that crazy about the free breakfast but everything else was very well laid out. Has an inside heated pool. Eighth floor is all penthouse suites. Free washer/dryer use but bring your own detergent.

we stopped here on the way from CT to GA for a quick over night stop. The hotel is very nice inside and out. the staff was very nice. From check in where they made sure we were signed up for rewards to breakfast even chatting with me two grandchildren (ages 6 & 10) who were with us. to check out making sure everything was ok with our stay.

Stayed one night. The reviews I read prior to checking in were all good and I can agree. Im a neat freak so cleanliness is very important to me. Very clean room and the most comfortable bedding. Would definatley stay again

My cousins and I did a quick overnight traveling from Florida to New York. We booked through the best western reservation center which was a good thing as there was a no vacancy on the doors when we arrived. We arrived at 1am, check in was quick and easy and our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast & coffee were available! I am a very fussy traveler and I had no complaints. Would recommend and stay again!

My husband and I were doing a long anniversary weekend and planned to spend some time at Lake Anna. Not sure if you're familiar with the area, but it's a little pricey for just a weekend getaway so we decided to stay a little further away and save some cash. This hotel got great reviews, was in our price range and had rooms available on our scheduled dates. Although we live in Northern Virginia and could drive back and forth, we wanted to spend some time in the Fredericksburg area as well and check out other things to do. In addition, the Dominion Raceway is right there so it kind of worked out. First, upon arrival, the staff was extremely friendly and check-in was a breeze. I wish I could remember her name darn it, but the lady at the front desk really couldn't have been any nicer if she tried. We got our keys, loaded our stuff on the cart and made our way to the room. Everything was pretty much new or almost new. I always check for bedbugs first thing and there were like 3 layers of mattress covers on the mattress and when I finally made it to the mattress, it looked brand new. The carpet and curtains appeared to be like new, the bathroom was great, everything was clean. The shower head was like a rain shower head which was great, and not that it matters much, but the grout in the bathroom even matched the tile which was impressive; they really went the extra mile here. I received a call about 10 minutes after we arrived in the room just making sure everything was ok - it was. The breakfast was so so. It wasn't horrible, but nothing to write home about either. There is plenty of parking so that's a non-issue. This hotel shares a parking lot with Taco Bell so if you can't figure out how to get to the road that leads to the hotel, just take the entrance to Taco Bell and you'll be good to go. There is also a McDonald's and a Dairy Queen right there as well. As mentioned earlier, Dominion Speedway is right up the road. If it were a safe place to walk, it's close enough you could potentially walk; however, with the interstate right there and the road construction happening right there, I wouldn't recommend it. This hotel is in Thornburg so you very close to Fredericksburg and there are a lot of things to do in the area; Lake Anna is about 13 miles away. We also went to Charlottesville for the day, hit some flea markets and even made a trip to Richmond. This is a good place to stay if you want to do multiple things in different locations. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Staff was nice and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located and, we were able to get a restaurant to deliver to our room, which was a bonus. The pull out couch was a good size, which made it easy for the sleeping arrangements (2 adults, 2 kids). Pool was nice, but the floor of the pool was a little dirty. Overall, it was a nice stay.

We stayed for three nights while in town for soccer. The hotel is only a few years old, very clean. We had a king suite. The king bed had its own room, the pull out sofa where our teens slept was comfortable. Kitchenette was nice!

Overall, our experience here was pretty good. The rooms were nicer, far nicer than I thouoght we'd get. The staff was plsant and helpful. The only real problem was the pool, or more properly the pool deck. There is is no texture to the ceramic tiles, and once they're wet they're very slick. I was there with my wife, her son and his wife and their five children. I fell, two of the grandkids fell, and three of the others almost fell. I'm sure thaht it will be a capital investment, but thhe entire deck needs to be replaced.

Nice first impression. Lobby is clean. Staff is courteous and professional. Room floor was not as clean as expected. Hair on bathroom floor. Carpet needs a good vacuuming. Would definitely recommend. Rooms are spacious. Bed is firm.

Hotel was nice. It was pretty cold out when we were there and our heater wasn't working. We got there late and had traveled many hours and were exhausted. The next day I told the lady our heater wasn't working and that we froze all night. She asked me if we checked the thermostat on the wall and I said we did. I had tried unplugging the heater and everything but nothing worked. She said “next time let us know so we can fix it.” I told her it was very late when we got there and there was nobody around. I was thinking that we should at least get a discount off the price that we paid but that was not offered.

Very nice hotel with free hot breakfast. We were there with our basketball team for a tournament in the area. The staff was very nice both when we arrived and during our departure. The only issue was some of our boys said the beds had their backs hurting when the woke up the next morning but that could have been due to the two games played earlier that day. Other than that this is a very nice and clean hotel.

Excellent service and clean! Enjoyed stay and will go again. Crazy review has to be 200 characrters. Would have cancelled this whole thing, but what a shame when the place was so nice and the people were even nicer.

We planned a meeting with a group of about 25-plus to walk a nearby Civil War battlefield. From the very start, Tammy Mullenax worked with us on handicapped rooms, general reservations, amenities, meeting rooms and other details. She was very positive, guest-oriented and helped us in a number of other ways. Once here, desk agent Constance worked with us for a BYOB event, helped us set up, find stuff and clean up. She was great. New hotel, pool, breakfast, very clean. This hotel sits just south of the Fredericksburg urban sprawl on the Thornburg exit. It's in a relatively peaceful place, got a nice Latino restaurant just up the street and fast food places near the front door. Getting here is much easier than fighting the traffic and congestion on Routes 3, 1 or 17. The staff's attitude and overall newness of this hotel make it a first choice when traveling south from DC,

A large part of my family stayed here to celebrate with my Aunt. The hotel was easy to find, very comfortable and clean! The staff was amazing, especially Constance. She took such great care of us and went above and beyond to be sure we had everything we needed! Thank you!

After a terrible experience at another hotel I was forced to change in the middle of my stay. Best Western was wonderful at accommodating my son and I at the last minute. The staff was friendly, the room was spotless and breakfast was delicious. The complimentary laundry facilities were the icing on the cake as I had dirty soccer uniforms to wash. I will definitely stay here again.

Stopped off at this hotel after a very long day of driving. Room rate was very good, King size bed was very comfortable and very large room with desk and chair. Modern hotel and very clean. A very nice stay.

The manager was extremely rude and very unprofessional. Everything else about the hotel was great, but to me I can't support disrespectful management. She was rude to me (guest) and talked about the other check in personnel right in front of me. Management 101 - you don't belittle your staff.

This is the second time we stayed here and once again we were extremely pleased. Due to our point level with Best Western, we were upgraded to a beautiful suite. The hotel is very clean and the service is great. We enjoyed the variety of foods for breakfast. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Our stay here was an overall great experience thanks to the cleanliness and quality of the facility and the friendliness of the guy who checked us in. Dininng Tip: There is an Italian restaurant in a strip mall a quarter mile west ( Angelos maybe, but it's the only one around), go try it. Wow!!!! Outstanding Best Western Plus hotel. I booked this hotel for the first time. I usually stay at the BW in Quantico but wanted to go a little further on my drive to Va and get a heads start. The price that I paid for this hotel was ridiculously inexpensive and to seer what you get...amazing. This hotel is beautiful, clean and accommodating. The staff is amazing a and friendly and the rooms are pristine. I highly recommend.this hitel, it is right off the I95 at exit 118. Enjoy!

The stay at Best Western was exceptional. They allowed me to get a room where I could keep an eye on my rental truck and vehicle on the trailer. The experience overall was five stars. Will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends

This facility was very clean, presentable, professional, and friendly. Nice room with a comfortable bed. Had a quiet, restful sleep. No noise or disturbances. The lady who takes care of the "Breakfast Area" was a real STAR! The area was clean, presentable, and inviting. She greeted everyone (I saw) with a smile and a friendly "GOOD MORNING". Stopped here for a quick overnight stay. Hotel was close to the highway which while it did create a little residual noise was not overbearing. Hotel looked and felt almost brand new. Staff was super friendly and check in/check out was a breeze. The free hot breakfast was wonderful with lots of selections to choose from. Only small complaint was the pillows are way to soft, but definitely not a deal breaker, as the bed more than made up for it! 10 out of 10 would stay here again!!

Needed a place close to home as we had water problems. Got a great rate with AARP. Stayed a Friday and Saturday night. Check in was smooth and easy. Breakfast was better than the ordinary continental one served. Eggs tasted real and not instant. Sunday even had sausage gravy which tasted great. The ladies both days kept it stocked and clean. The rooms could have used more soundproofing as you could really hear kids. Saturday morning the housekeeper we think was trying to see how many times she could let doors slam close. Very annoying. Room was very clean and had everything required. Would definitely stay there again. Check out time was 11 but got call at 1030 wanting to know if we were still in the room.

Good, spacious, clean, quiet room, nice pool, better than average breakfast, but really terrible decaf coffee. Saved about 30% by using a discount Web site instead of booking through Best Western or calling hotel. Was surprised that hotel Web ste was not more competitive.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Plus Thornburg Inn & Suites, Woodford, Virginia, Dec. 24th thru Dec. 26th, 2017. The check-in experience was very positive and informative. The suite rooms were very comfortable, and the bathroom, and kitchen was clean and well-stocked. I especially enjoyed the hotel's hot breakfast which offered a variety of items, some of which I'd never had at other hotels! The attendants there were so friendly, and kept all the items stocked and available right up to the last minute. In the computer room, the front desk clerk helped me print my movie ticket confirmation for a Christmas Day movie. I was able to have a very fine dinner at an Olde Towne Fredericksburg steak and seafood restaurant, and tour a historic home with a Christmas display in Fredericksburg.

Among the best BW that you will ever stay at. I am a Diamond member of BW, and I must say that this is probably the best BW I've stayed at, from Canada to NC. Modern, 2 year old building. Easy check in and out. Good size, spotless room. Comfortable bed. Terrific breakfast that is a step up from the average hot breakfasts out there. Staff was very friendly, from the desk staff to the lady in charge of the breakfast room. If you are looking to overnight in the area, this is your best choice.

While traveling home from Florida to New York, we discovered this hotel when searching on-line for an over-night stop to rest for the night. We were hoping to find a Best Western within our budget. The price was right and so was the location, just off I-95, yet far enough from the roadway so noise was not an issue. Everything about the place is very clean. Every staff member we encountered was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The heated indoor pool was a great place to relax and unwind in the evening before settling in to our room. We will stay here again on trips to and from the south!

Great hotel just off the interstate. New, clean, hotel with a friendly staff. Breakfast was good. Check-in and check-out were both easy and efficient. A Taco Bell and McDonald's within walking distance, across the parking lot. The Stonewall Jackson shrine is a few miles away and downtown Fredricksburg is 20 minutes away, barring bad traffic. Definitely would stay here again.

We stayed here for one night during our road trip back to Florida. We found this hotel with incredibly great reviews from the hotels.com. The minute we stepped in, we know that it's truly a gem. The room is so clean and comfortable, and the staff is extremely friendly. The breakfast next morning is another pleasant surprise. We traveled a lot during the past year, and I can say this hotel is probably our best experience so far. Highly recommend it !

Easy access from highway. Clean quiet rooms. Warm pool :) Friendly, attentive staff. As our trip had us back on the road early a.m., morning shift woman made sure we each had a grab n go bag for breakfast! Both sisters were pleased with my pick, and will stay at Best Western again!

The breakfast was surprisingly delicious! French toast, eggs, sausage and plenty of other items. I would definitely recommend and will stay there again!

The front desk clerk wasnt friendly,she wasnt rude just drab peraonality, didnt feel valued and there was 2 unidentifiable bugs crawling on the ceiling in the middle of the night when i got up to potty

This was a great place to stay. A convenient k location easily of the highway and located near many amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. The heating was a bit different but we were instructed on check-in how to use it.

Hotel in very nice condition, clean and the beds were very comfortable, I was suprised that they have a hot breakfast inclusing warm spiced apples to go with that oatmeal or anything else . The hotel is just off the interstate but far enough to not have any road noise and there are gas stations and restrauants near-by.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable....well worth the price. The breakfast was very filling and fresh cooked (eggs, bacon, waffles, breakfast burritos, oatmeal, cereal, juice,coffee, etc). The sheets were clean and the tv had a decent amount of channels. My only complaint is that the hotel fire alarm went off at 7am and we had to run out of the hotel room in our night clothes. My son fell and hurt his knee pretty bad all to find out that it was a false alarm -_- But im not going to lower my rating on the hotel since I do not know who set off the alarm. We only stayed for one night but i look forward to our next stay at a best western plus

My Family stopped here on our drive home from WDW. We didn't have reservations anywhere, so of course we were looking for a nice place to stop. Did we luck out when we picked this hotel. Beautiful, new, clean and the worker at the front desk was wonderful, Sandra:)

Had a suite with a full kitchen area. The bed was just the right firmness and very comfortable. Easy access to the interstate and fast food for late night. The breakfast provided for a hot meal and coffee was available all day.

On A trip back home from Florida to Massachusetts stayed here for one night. Good local restaurant tip from desk clerk. Easy check out. Overall clean and modern looking hotel. High ceilings in room a plus!

My husband and I stayed here in last weekend. It's a very nice hotel. The only problem was that the beds were a bit too hard for my taste. but we both slept very well! Would recommend this hotel to others.

Hotel is fairly new and modern. Two elevators only one was working. Had an infestation of “stink bugs” fairly common in the area and just annoying. Fair breakfast. Quiet at night. The room was a good size and did have a fridge and microwave.

We overnighted here on the way home, after a stop at the Stone wall Jackson Shrine. Then room was large, but not a suite. The price was a little on the high side. I spent less the night before in a Virginia Beach oceanfront hotel. The bathroom is small. The bed was hard. That's A/C was too hot or too cold. All night long the traffic noises kept me awake. The fitness room was good, I got use out of it. I didn't use the indoor pool. The breakfast was ok, but had a poor selection of fruit, just a few apples.

Stayed 4 night and 3 days. Wonderful Staff. Rooms were very nice and very clean. Breakfast bar was fabulous with main course different every day. Will definitely stay again when traveling to east to see great- grand son.

I enjoy my staff at BWT this is always a place for me and my family to visit and enjoy its quiet and clean environment . I refer my friends and family to this location because it's close to 95 highways and the staff is always helpful and professional.

Great hotel with friendly staff. The rooms and linens are very clean and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was very good with hot items including eggs, sausage or bacon, and various items each day like breakfast burritos or hot apple slices. Plenty of parking and food within walking distance. Quick 25 minutes to the lake on the main roads. The only issue was the pool. We had a day rained out and spent at the hotel using the pool. The pool and pool area is nice with lots of seating. The problem is the tile type around the pool. We had three kids age 4, 5, and 7. Each child fell because the tile was so slippery. And no, it was not because of running. The adults had to creep around as well to avoid falling. We made the decision they could not come out of the pool until they wanted to leave because it was so dangerous. I highly recommend the hotel puts some type of slip resistant coating on the tiles before someone cracks their head open. This is by no means a deal breaker and we will stay again when we go to the lake and don't want to drop 2k on a lake rental.

I use to go in vacation in South Carolina and each time its take me 2 days to be there. So i have to stop for a night and for me it is important to have a good night because it was a long day on the road and the next day an other big day so the quaity of the hotel is very important. In this hotel the place was perfect, the hall clean the elevator big enough for peaple and lugage, the room very clean , spacy idem for the bathroom. I hope it will still be as comfortable for my next trip because I will try to stop at the same place because I know I will be comfortable.

This stop was in the middle of a month long road trip. We'd seen good and bad places along the way. This was probably the best overall. Close to freeway, but not noisy. Close to store to replenish necessities.

Had a very relaxing stay. The room was very clean. Will return again. Breakfast was great. Staff was friendly, Bathroom water and pressure was excellent. Was asked if we needed anything. There are lots of stores and dinning options not far away. Gas stations close by. The name does live up it is a Plus Best Western for sure.

Took a trip from NJ to NC and this was in between. I almost booked at a different hotel close by but this was new and had similar amenities. It looked modern, very clean, and had excellent staff. I would book with them again!

If you book through a 3rd party travel vendor(Expedia, Kayak etc), but sure to double check and confirm your reservations(and dates). We had booked 3 rooms for 2 nights and somehow the 1 of the 3 reservations did not get transmitted to this hotel's system, which left us short a room on a weekend where every other hotel in the area had no vacancies. The staff told us that we could "bunk up" but had no cots or any way to accommodate the guests whose room they did not have in their system, nor did they offer to help make other arrangements for them. We ended up having to make our own arrangements and drive an additional 30 minutes and pay 200$ for 1 room for 1 night. It was only after multiple requests and speaking to the GM that the request to refund the whole stay of the party effected by the error was granted. The hotel staff continued to blame the 3rd party booking site (and me) for the error, even after we showed them repeatedly that the information from the booking site was correct and I explained that I had called their front desk to confirm dates and room arrangements because I am obsessive in that way. Bottom line: Somehow the reservation information got changed from what we wanted(and paid for)and we were left without a room. Subsequently, while inquiring into a different problem with a DIFFERENT reservation with the same 3rd party site, I find out that the request for a refund for the above mentioned problem had not been made by the hotel staff. I went ahead and took care of it and got my refund. With that said, the hotel is new, clean and modern. Our room was spacious and the furnishings were comfortable. It is also close to the interstate. Price is comparable to other properties one exit down and closer to the Fredericksburg sites. The staff was professional, pleasant enough even if they are poorly trained and not well informed. Just beware and make sure to double check everything before staying here.

Right off Interstate 95, this Plus version of Best Western did nothing wrong and was exactly what a tried traveler would desire. Prompt and efficient check-in, a clean room in a new (2016) property, sausage-and-scrambled-eggs hot breakfast included. Price $134 plus tax. sold out over the weekend, it was about empty on a Sunday night.

This hotel was very impressive. Rooms were very clean and huge! Almost like staying an apartment. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast had a lot of great options. Would, definitely, stay here again and recommend. We were in town for the VA Renaissance Faire as a family.

Still had about 3-4 hours before I got home, late at night, so my baby (10 months old) and I needed a good rest for the next leg of our trip to get home to daddy. Breakfast fueled us full, and the beds let us rest very well before we made it home nice and safe.

We had a group come into town to join us for a night of racing at Dominion Raceway (which is less than a mile away). Everyone was impressed by the cleanliness and the decor. I believe this hotel is only about a year old, so everything is very nice. I would highly recommend.

Property is brand new and very comfortable. Easily accessible from highway. Plenty of parking right by the front door. Nearby is a nice little local Italian restaurant called Angela's. This is an excellent choice for travelers.

My soccer team stayed at this hotel for a nearby Easter weekend tournament. The owners and staff were extremely courteous and helpful, and they even went above and beyond to accommodate our large group. This new hotel had great decor, was very clean, and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

Terrible, dirty, would never stay at a best western again. The service was okay, most employees were rude. I felt like they were being put out when we asked them for something. Never had such a horrible hotel stay. The bedding was fifthy.

Our soccer team stayed in this hotel while playing league games in VA this past week. The whole staff was absolutely FANTASTIC!! I was dreading my Thursday night trip down Rt. 95 south of Washington, D.C. due to the inevitable crowds hitting the roads early for the holiday weekend, so I attempted to score a hotel earlier than my usual 11 pm check-in time, at around 8 pm. I picked this small town exit after spotting a Best Western sign and was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable room rate and plenty of availability. A hot breakfast was included and it was excellent. A luxurious top floor room (701) and huge, comfortable bed with cable tv and wifi internet completed my perfect stay.

Stated here on way home from Florida. Staff very nice. Best price was with veteran rate. Room was very nice, clean. Hotel is relatively new. Only complaint was breakfast not served until 7am. Not good if you want to get through D.C. With less traffic.

To many excuses, and no consideration for the comfort of the paying customers. Do to the lack of concern of the staff customers are not a priority when it comes to this business. All they has to do was take time and own the problem and correct it.

This is one of the cleanest Best Western's in the chain. You won't be disappointed if you stay here. The suites are very roomy and provide a tv for each room. Everything in the room is new and updated. Our room was spotless and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Right off the highway, this hotel was convenient and easy to find. The hotel staff is working hard to take care of guests. Rooms are new and nice. Just recommend a floor above 2nd floor, as it is loud from the open foyer.

We were in town for a few days to race at the nearby racetrack. For any racers that will be at Dominion Raceway this hotel is in a perfect location. The hotel is brand new,so the rooms are clean the furniture's new and comfortable. Staff was friendly. They have a small pool. Nice breakfast area and food. Parking is fine, if you have a trailer you may be better to drop it off before checking in.

This was by far the best hotel stay we have had in many years. As a Diamond Club member, we were upgraded to a suite. The suite was the best appointed and designed room we have stayed in, in any of the many Best Western hotels, and other hotel chains. That is saying a lot since we have stayed in many up-scaled hotel chains during our lifetime. Best Western is always our first choice when seeking accommodations. Their reward program is outstanding, and we have never been disappointed with their accommodations.

Everything was great...I was actually heading nearby for the Holiday Inn Express and I couldn't see their sign so I stopped at this Best Western Plus...I had never been to one before but I will definitely go for one in the future...

WOW! We have been on Civil War Battlefield tour and found that we needed a hotel quickly as Hurricane Matthew was bringing a lot of rain. We drove up to this hotel not having a reservation, walked in and checked in. The front desk staff was wonderful, smiling, very helpful. We took a King Suite which was beyond our expectations. The room was super clean and very quiet. The room had a kitchen, 40" TV's in both rooms. The beds were super comfortable and the pillows were pillows, not lumps of stuffing in a pillowcase. The breakfast area was clean, with a great variety of breakfast food. We cannot say enough great things about this hotel. Do not hesitate to stay here when visiting the area. If there was a + 5 we would rate it. VWOW, again.

A great new facility with great staff. Very clean. The facility just opened in May of 2016 but the staff and management appear to want to keep it looking fabulous. The lobby and breakfast area are almost on the elegant side. A great value.

Our room is clean, with a modern, albeit standard basic hotel style, bathroom, and a kitchenette. The bed is comfortable and the air is controlled by a wall thermostat instead of a rotating knob like so many hotel AC units. Plus, it is an actual suite, with a door closing us off from our daughter on the sofa bed. Room keys are RFID, not mag stripe, which is nice because no matter how hard I try I always demagnetize standard room key cards. Those are good things. But, there are some weird things. There is a fridge, stove, double kitchen sink, a couple of pot holders and some cooking utensils, but only one SMALL saucepan and a frying pan -- and zero glasses or plates or bowls. There are thin plastic disposable cups and paper coffee cups, I suppose, but I'm not sure what one would cook with this equipment. Maybe a can of soup, eaten out of the coffee cup? It's so bizarre to have so many empty drawers and cabinets. Our suite has a sofa bed, but that is only made up with sheets, and there are no pillows or blankets in the room that are not already on the master bed. We checked in at 9:30 with a tired kid, so she has one of our pillows (fortunately we had four and only need three) and our coverlet for a blanket. No patience to call housekeeping at this time of night. There are three light switches in the suite, and they all control the same TWO things simultaneously: the entryway ceiling light and the outlet powering my bedside lamp. And the outlets for chargers are integrated into the lamp. So if I want to charge my iPhone and watch, I need the switch turned on. This means our daughter on the sofa bed is stuck with a light on all night. We were given a wifi password, but there is no protected network here and thus no need for the password. The free wifi is good, but that's weird, no? Finally, from the bed we can smell smoke. Kind of like a wood fire. There is a chink of daylight visible around the AC unit, so it's probably coming in from that gap. But who has a wood fire right outside a hotel which is next to several gas stations, two other hotels, and a Couple of fast food joints, right off the Interstate? When it was 85 degrees today? It's somewhat disconcerting. So in summary this is a perfectly fine hotel. Enjoy the comfy king size bed, and bring beer to put in the fridge -- just make sure it's twist off and you are ok with drinking it out of the bottle. And make sure you are ok with going out to dinner -- to Taco Bell, I presume.

Hey, Y'all...in the country. I couldn't figure out if I was driving in to TacoBell or the Hotel!! I enjoyed the visit at this hotel but we had the opportunity to stay at a lower price at another hotel next door with a coupon. The employee did not have the authority to give us the discount, but we stayed anyway as there were really good reviews. I agree; however, a hot tub would have been good. Get away from the fast food restaurants in a short drive and there is pizza, Chinese and Mexican in less than five minutes. Rooms were clean and the staff great!!!

Location was right by Rt. 95. We were headed from NC to NY and then stayed again from NY to NC. Very, very nice staff, excellent cleanliness, breakfast is included and very good, fresh food. The staff was very helpful when we had questions; Easy check out. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. We used the wireless Internet and also the give you pleanty of towels We have recommended this particular hotel and location to our family and friends already. They deserve a 5 star rating.

Eager try out this Best Western "Plus" because of the "Plus" --we had a fabulous stay earlier this summer at a "Plus" in Sedona, AZ where everything was upscale compared to regular BWs, furnishings, decor, architecture, staff, and so on. In the case of this Thornburg facility, though, while certainly being new and shiny is a genuine "wow" factor, all is pretty much standard look from outside and in public areas. Certainly nice nonetheless. Receptionist was very personable and charming but evidently not fully trained, unaware of simple every day Diamond BW upgrade policies so process was long. When we got to the room, keys did not work. Returned to reception, and found out that the wrong room number was written on the key envelope. No apology at all for the inconvenience. Room (809) was of quite good size, as should be for what's advertised as "penthouse suite." Standard hotel furniture and sparse decoration. Kitchenette had a few paper cups, small plastic glasses, and flimsy plastic utensils. No real glass or ceramic coffee cups, hardly a "plus" in furnishing. TVs smaller than normal, and the only dresser drawers was in living room even though lots of room for one in bedroom. Clock radio had an old style iPhone connector. Bathroom while bright and clean is very standard, and only has a tub shower. Usually in upgraded suites there is a tub plus a separate shower. (Tub bottom is not textured and thus slippery, hotel should provide rubber non slip mats.) In many hotel suites there's a separate powder room off living room, but not here. Where's the "plus?" A/C and wifi are excellent, above average. Housekeeping is spotty. When we opened the extra blanket found many large brown lumps stuck to it, only hope it was spilled food.... Staff promptly brought us a clean blanket and removed the soiled one but without any apology at all. Treated as a routine matter. When I moved the clock radio on bedside table to make it visible from bed, revealed several obvious big sticky spots. Breakfast room very clean, all tables wiped, no crumbs, etc on floor. Attendant keeps a good eye on everything. Fare is standard BW and below Hilton's versions of "Plus" such as Garden Inn, Doubletree, Embassy Suites where fresh berries are always available as well as some cooked to order offering. A guess is this hotel is owned by absentee investors without hospitality experience and with too much entrusted to new staff. "The best fertilizer is always the owner's footprint." This was our night stop on our way from Florida to NYC. WHAT A FIND! We could not have found a better place to stay, even if it was for only 12 hours. The building is new and clean, the room was beautiful, and the bed was so comfortable. The staff could not have been more friendly. Breakfast had lots of choices, something for everyone. I wish we could have stayed longer, and would definitely plan to stay here again on our way through.

This newly constructed hotel is one of the top Best Westerns that I've visited. First impressions will go a long way. That's what I encountered upon my first visit at this location. The reservation specialists were so very courteous, kind, helpful, personable, attentive, and most of all professional. Their names are Ms. Breanna, Ms. Katie, Ms. Brianna, and Mr. Tabyah. They all made my stay very enjoyable, and went out of their way to do so. These reservation specialists are second to none. These are the caliber of employees that any establishment would love to possess. As far as the hotel itself, the lobby is very attractive, the rooms are immaculate and very clean. The bathroom, the first room that I inspect upon my entry, was very satisfying. The bed was so comfortable that I endured a very good night sleep. The amenities were also plentiful. The breakfast was prepared to my liking and the menu consisted of a variety of foods to choose from. I had no complaints at all during my visit. If you're ever in the area, this is the location to visit

Needed a place to stay while returning home so stopped at the Best Western. We got a King Bed room. The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were very friendly. The bed was extremely comfortable and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Had the breakfast in the morning and it was much better than other hotels I have stayed at. I would stay here again if ever in the area and in need of a hotel.

Very clean, very friendly staff. Good location if you're on your way to Outer Banks to break up the ride. We stayed in a sweet and the room was very large. Kitchen was handy also. Walking distance to fast food and DQ, so that was convenient as well.

This was a fabulous hotel to spend the night , for the family. It has been open 3 months. Brand new. Checkin was a breeze. Staff truly wants to provide the best possible and outstanding service to their guests. Accommodations were excellent as well as the complimentary hot breakfast. This hotel will continue to be our overnight stop when heading to the NC islands for vacation. Dont be misled thinking this is a Best Western motel, this is a Best Western Plus. I strongly recommend staying here, over all the other hotels within 10 miles. (Yes we have tried the others)

What can I say...IT'S NEW!! Everything was fresh and clean, beds & pillows, totally comfortable! Kids enjoyed the indoor pool! The laundry room on our floor (3) came in handy to dry the kids bathing suits! Lots of eating options close by. Great on/off highway location, yet it was nice and quiet! Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant! Only thing to mention was the wifi wasn't working when we arrived, but it was fixed in a reasonable amount of time. Breakfast & coffee were very good! If ever in the area again, I would definitely stay here!

This is a brand new place you can see and smell it ?? it has been open about 2 months. The staff was so friendly and always had a smile on their faces. It is clean and beautiful and the complimentary breakfast was awesome. The women working the breakfast area were so quick and on top of keeping up with the in flow of people. Thornburg now has a first class hotel gracing our exit 118. The new best Western Plus is the tallest building between Richmond and the DC suburbs! Not only is it high in structure it is high on service. Front desk staff are attentive to every detail and your stay will be memorable for the complimentary breakfast or free laundry. For over 4 years the shell of this fine hotel stood vacant and empty just waiting for a vision to transform it into a high end travel destination. It boasts King studios with a kitchen and full size fridge as well as penthouse executive one bedroom suites. It also has a salt water pool and a charging station to recharge your electric car! Located right off the Interstate the best Western Plus at Thornburg has changed the skyline of Spotsylvania County for the better.

This is a new property, upscale for BW, modern with all the expected amenities. The rooms are spacious and attractive. The staff and management were very helpful and accommodating. They managed to find us the first floor rooms we needed, even giving us an upgraded suite at no charge so we could be on the first floor. When we were unable to use the WIFI in our room, they made a fair reduction in the room rate for our inconvenience. We were very pleased with the service we received at this hotel. A nice plus is a free guest laundry.

After a long drive from GA, the hotel was easy to find and the parking lot was reasonably well-lit. The staffer (I don't recall her name) at check-in desk was very friendly and helpful. After providing my name, the staffer warmly replied, "we've been expecting you." Wanting to sleep in beause I was tired but needing to fuel up for the next leg of my journey, I asked what time breakfast buffet closed in the morning. The staffer told me the time and added that if we were a little late they would find something for us to eat. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. By the looks of the partking lot, the hotel did not ppear to have many guests. Even though the website said continental breakfast, the breakfast included both hot and cold selections. Self-service waffles are one of my favorite hotel breakfast items. I had wafles, sausages and fruit. My niece have some of everything eggs, grits, muffins, sausages, waffles, etc. All in all it was a very nice location and only 1.5 hours from our next stop in MD. I would also like to mention that I received great customer service when I called Best Western's 800 number to confirm my room would not be given away if I arrived around midnight. When I tried the direct number for the hotel, I got a message that said the number was not in service. Odd. The representative at the 800 number said my room was confirmed and she would let them know what time to expect me.

On June 11th at 11:40pm I pulled into the parking lot, after a long 7 hour drive, and checked in. The following morning I check out and someone hit my one month old 2016 car and left it there with the bumper hanging on by a bolt. The hotel has absolutely NO SECURITY CAMERAS and I needed to get to SC for a college tour. Yes, the hotel is a nice hotel but please BEWARE!!

This is my first time at a Best Western as an adult. I loved it!!! The room is cute, clean and spacious. The king suite rivals another other brand name chain. The staff is friendly but Marian is my fav. Breakfast was delicious but she made it special. She enjoys her work and guests. The only thing missing was grits. I am very happy I chose this place.

The hotel was open for 2 weeks before my stay. Their staff was friendly. The breakfast is average with a decent selection to choose from. There is a race track nearby that you can hear if racing is going on. The TV was enough to drown out the sound.

This hotel is brand new -- it opened 2 weeks ago -- and it's absolutely beautiful. My 14 year old son and I moved to this property from a nearby dump hotel that I won't mention. We loved the Best Western Plus and would recommend to anyone. The staff was fantastic.

Needed a stop on the way to a meeting in DC. The desk manager was extremely nice. She checked us in and recommended an outstanding restaurant nearby. The hotel was immaculate. Breakfast was delicious. The egg omelet with cheese was very tasty. I plan to make this a regular stop on the way to DC .
