Clean and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast including scrambled eggs, sausage, french toast, fruit (peaches, melons). Walking distance to Milpitas eateries. Very convenient access to I-880 and CA-237. There are many construction workers staying here during the week.

Brookside Inn is near both Interstate 880 and Highway 237. A short drive to Levi's Stadium, San Jose Airport, Downtown San Jose and Great America Amusement Park. A 25+ mile north drive to Oakland Airport, Oakland and San Francisco. Brookside Inn is quiet even though it's near the freeway. Staff is helpful and friendly and rooms are modern and comfortable and have strong WiFi. Breakfast is severed in a dining room/lounge. Nice selection of hot and cereal items. Dining Staff is friendly and helpful. They keep the dining room and food bar kept up. We love the multifunctional coffee maker. We have stayed many times at this location and have had a good experience. Thank you, Janet & David

Manager Susan yells at customers, employees and just about everyone. They claim to be pet friendly, but complain about your dog. They cancel confirmed reservations without notice if the don't have a pet room open- even when you check the pet box while making reservations. Room 101 is not up to best Western standards, with surface of chair peeling off. Tiny bed. Microwave iffy

This used to be one of my favorite hotels. However, when I checked in the manager Susan, started yelling at me about the extra clean-up work for pets - despite this being a pet friendly hotel. She yelled at me, the other hotel team members and created such a stressful environment that I didn't feel comfortable leaving my room until after she left. She then asked me to do an additional step of calling the hotel, after I had made a non-refundable best western membership reservation, so that they would have the option of cancelling my reservation at the last minute. As a Diamond Select member, I depend on the certainty that my reservation via the Best Western Application will be honored. It is not the customer's job to manage room inventory.

Very nice facility. The entire staff was friendly. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfasts were nice and had a good choice that that changed daily. The location was close to the freeway yet very quiet with limited road noise.

No issues, clean room, the breakfast was delicious!! Most best westerns have a hot meal but this place had a great selection!! all sorts of toppings for your waffles, 2 kinds of potatoes, 2 types of milk, soda, juice, coffee and even a toaster for my bagel Thanks so much!!!

By far the best service, breakfast was excellent and all amenities you could want. Walking distance to multiple places to eat, drink, shop, or gas. Very clean and well kept property. Great for the night after a football game or perfect for the family traveling that appreciates cleanliness, quality and safety

We recently spent 3 nights in this Milpitas Best Western. It was clean, well-appointed and served an excellent breakfast. The Front Desk staff were friendly, efficient and accommodating. It was like staying with helpful friends. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to San Jose.

BWP Brookside Inn is right in the hub of the East Bay/South Bay. Easy access to major roadways (880, 237 and 680). A short drive to Levi's Stadium and major cities as San Jose and Sunnyvale. Less than an hours drive to Oakland and San Francisco. Nice centralized hub to three major airports (SJC, OAK and SFO). Local/chain restaurants and supermarket/drugstores are located on East Calaveras Blvd/Hwy 237. BWP has a inviting exterior and a beautiful fountain that is nice to sit by and unwind. A large parking lot to accommodate guests. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the WiFi signal is strong and reliable. Inn's Staff is very friendly and helpful. Well stocked breakfast items displayed nicely. Really cool coffee maker that makes everything! Big screen TV's to view the day's events. Breakfast venue is kept clean and orderly. Outdoor seating is available if you want to eat outside. The lounge offers a Happy Hour during the week. Janet and I have stayed there many times and have never had a issue but a wonderful time.

Overall experience was fantastic. It's a quiet hotel, with great staff! I definitely will always be staying here when traveling to San Jose or even the Bay Area. My go to hotel. Breakfast was great. Modelo on tap during happy hour was smooth.

Good beds & pillows, well appointed room w/balcony table. Had a full breakfast including fruit. The ham & sausage were delicious. We stayed after a visit to great America, and it was a great place to rest & relax. They have a nice lounge where there is a buffet with drinks included.

The included breakfast was great -- many options of hot foods plus Starbucks Pike Place coffee. Our room was very clean. We were missing a hair drying, and the crew sent it within a few minutes. Overall it was a great stay for our family.

My house was getting fumigated, and I needed to find accommodations for me and my 3 cats. I called this hotel on May 9, 2022 at 5:30pm. The staff informed me that I could stay with my 3 cats without issues. I subsequently booked my stay online, noting in the reservation that I would be staying with my 3 cats. The day before my stay, the manager informed me that I would not be allowed to stay in the hotel with my cats, and cancelled my reservation. It was a huge scramble for me to find new accommodations for them. I had to put them in an expensive boarding place 40 miles away, as I couldn't find anything else closer to home.

While the rooms run a little small, they are nicely appointed with all the modern amenities & a very comfy bed. Our room was on the busy road side of the building, rooms on the inward facing side have lovely outdoor seating which faces a beautifully landscaped area. Breakfast here is fantastic! So many options & you get real plates & silverware since you're in the hotel's restaurant. We would stay here again as it's very near the freeway.

Everything was awesome. Had no issues, couldn't have asked for anything better; when it was already above any of the standards. Great walking distance to a store, gas station, and a liquor store when needing something.

We always have a wonderful stay at Brookside Inn. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Breakfast has a nice selection of hot items to choose from. Dining area resembles a nice restaurant/bar. This a hotel I and all my collogues always stay at whenever we are in the Bay area and highly recommend to all our friends. Friendly staff who are always willing to help you with a smile. The breakfast is almost four to five stars and the best out of all the other hotels we stay in.

The staff at the Milpitas Best Western From Susan at the front desk to all of the service personnel not only know what great customer service is, they practice it everyday, all day. Clean, fresh rooms. Well maintained hotel on the interior and exterior. Easy access to the interstate, restaurants and shopping venues.

Like other reviews have said, this hotel is a hidden gem. Lots of parking and nice landscaping. Rooms are clean. The ones facing the roads are a bit loud. Breakfast experience was amazing. Full hot breakfast with plates, silverware, glasses and coffee cups. Good selection of food. Complementary coffee in lobby. We didn't get to use it but they have a pool.

I have stayed here a few times. It's a 10min drive to Levi's Stadium and easy access to freeways. The staff has always been good and the rooms are very clean. The complimentary breakfast is a good way to start the morning.

The convenience of this hotel can't be overstated, since we came 3 hours away (for a medical procedure) This hotel is very close to a grocery store, gas station, and freeway.....The plush pillows, well made bed, and orderly looking room were a welcome delight after our long drive. But the extremely friendly and helpful staff, and manager, were what made our stay so satisfactory. We experienced the front desk's smiles and easy check-in, the breakfast lady's kindness, and the manager's graciousness. Thank you to all!

We have stayed here twice in the last 3 months. Hotel is starting to age a bit and could use a facelift. Otherwise, it's convenient, clean, and affordable. Delicious hot breakfast and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

In spite of being assigned an awful room when I checked in, overall I had a lovely stay at the Best Western Plus Brookside Inn in Milpitas, California. I chose this property because of the excellent location, with I-880 and downtown San Jose minutes away, and a huge number of restaurants and stores nearby. There's a 7-11 convenience store within walking distance of the hotel. Check-in was easy. When I opened the door to the king room I reserved, I was surprised by how small the room was and how claustrophobic I felt. The room seemed to be part of a suite, and the bed was way too big for the room. I went back to the front desk and asked for a different room. The individual who checked me in gave me attitude, and grilled me about whether I messed up the room, and called housekeeping to inspect the room. I guess I passed the test, and I was happy with the new room I was given. With several conference rooms and a restaurant and bar on-site, the hotel caters to leisure and business travelers alike. There's a nice pool and the hot buffet breakfast and the service was excellent. The weather was great and it was nice to sit outside to eat breakfast. The hotel was clean and COVID-19 compliant, and guests wore masks inside the property. I would recommend the Best Western Plus Brookside Inn to friends and wouldn't think twice about booking this hotel again. If you book this hotel, be sure to tell them that Roy sent you!

Was unaware that due to me BW Rewards, my stay at Brookside Inn was fantastic! I was informed that my rate afforded me complimentary breakfast/dinner buffet, and free beverages (beer/wine). The evening lounge staff was very accommodating, even though it got really busy! Great experience, would stay again!

I highly recommend Best Western Brookside it hands-down has become the best hotel I've stayed in the last 10 years staff are wonderful the rooms to clean the food is great they serve a Buffay breakfast and a buffet dinner I can't say enough about how they treat you how you feel they take it very personal each person needs.

Reasonably priced. Conveniently located. Attentive staff. Very good breakfast. Coffee, expresso, Juice fruit - everything complete. Susan runs a tight ship and the happy hour is very convenient. Sometimes though you get the feeling that there is a little too much over controlling of everything. But it hasn't kept me from intending to return their whenever I am in the bay area.

Best Western (BW) is my first search especially when selecting accommodations for travel especially with my grandkids. BW is very family friendly and depending on the location has the amenities I and my family enjoy, pool, breakfast and comfortable beds. I would definitely stay at the Milpitas location again.

When we travel to the Bay Area, we always stay at the Brookside. The price is typically very good. The staff is fantastic. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is very good; hot food, not just continental style like most places. We hope to make another trip this year and definitely will stay again.

This was a three night business trip. All was good especially the continental breakfast they provide. Unfortunately the ants in my room we're not supposed to be an amenity LOL that were in my bathroom & on the desk. I will most likely return for another stay in the future now they know they have ants they need to get rid of.

Hotel may be a little dated, but super clean, staff was very helpful and professional. Breakfast was one of the best around. Was very close to restaurant style. Only draw back we can say is, before midnight there was some highway noise, but not much.

First I want to say that my stay with my family was above and beyond my expectations. Immediately entering the beautiful lobby, I was greeted with big smiles. All staff were very kind, helpful, and made sure we knew what time breakfast was the pool, ice,etc. The room was as pictures show very very clean, comfortable pillows and bed. The pool was very clean Also the location is perfect. My stay was so peaceful and quiet. I did not hear a sound. Before we left we went to the restaurant for the morning conventional breakfast, oh my the food was so delicious, so mouth watering so satisfying. This hotel is exceptional. The owner is great. He walks the property thanking guests for staying and ensuring that everyone is good and taken care of. His staff is awesome too. Extremely friendly. I love going to the bar and having a few drinks at night. Everyone is fun to talk to. Great people!

We had an emergency in our home and had to shut off the water. So we needed to find somewhere quick, close and that allowed pets. What a relief to see that they could accommodate us. We enjoyed swimming and a clean room that night. The breakfast was delicious too! Thank you BW!

What a GREAT first impression to be checked by Micheal at the front desk!  His customer service skills are exceptional!  Our room was very clean, with comfy beds, and a charming balcony. Then, it got better. I was so surprised to see such an amazing buffet breakfast spread! Now of days, most hotels send you packing with a box filled with a granola bar, yogurt, and fruit. AND I was greeted by another stellar employee! Francisco the host/waitperson was very friendly, everything was clean and tidy. Then... dun dun, dunnnn... the third night, sadly it went downhill fast! The owner's son worked the front desk for a couple of shifts. He should NOT work in the hospitality field at ALL!  He was so rude and arrogant! He smoked in front of the lobby/hotel entrance. He answered the phone like the ex-girlfriend he just dumped was calling him, totally annoyed.  We did not see him smile one time. He was just rude and clearly did not want to be there. With a sigh of relief, the regular staff returned that evening! So overall Best Western Plus, Brookside Inn in Milpitas, CA has a great friendly staff, a warm breakfast, and is nice and clean. The inn provides easy access to major roads and freeways. Exterior grounds were kept up and we enjoyed entry water fountain. Since our room faced the courtyard we would open our balcony door and enjoy our view of the mountains and soothing water sound. Inn staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very orderly and comfortable. We were impressed with the menu items at breakfast. Wait staff kept tables and food stations clean, well stocked and orderly. On a future stay we would love to take advantage of their weekday Happy Hour in the lounge/bar. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Janet & David

I was extremely happy with every aspect of this hotel. Its location, the exterior, the clensiness, the quietness and the food. I travel a lot for work and have stayed in hotels that have been very noisy, people smoking marijuana or dealing drugs and the management looking the other way. I am very impressed with this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

This Hotel stay was excellent. Superb rooms and price. Hot breakfast was excellent! The place felt like a brand new hotel but you could feel it was just really well cared for. Looking forward to staying there again.

I've stayed here (and only here) over the past seven years and would not switch to another hotel at all. The staff is great. The rates are low/very reasonable. Rooms clean. Restaurant very convenient.

This hotel is super clean and super nice. The beds are comfortable and the amenities are not bad. That being said most of the staff are very rude. The one exception was an overnight gentlemen named Micheal (I hope that is his name). If you don't mind the rudeness and coldness of the staff then this is a great place to stay.

The Best Western Plus Brookside is very comfortable, newly renovated , and served a delicious breakfast . The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The grounds and patio area was very nice and there was a very good restaurant and bar area.

My car broke down and I had to wait until Monday to get it fixed. Spent two nights at this lovely motel. Every room had a view of the Western foothills. Clean, clean ,clean!! Immaculate bed, carpet and bathroom! Professional and helpful staff. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Not sure why this BW is considered a “Plus” since there weren't extra amenities or anything special. The room was fine for a one night stay. The front desk staff weren't particularly friendly or attentive. The good thing is, the hotel was convenient to where we wanted to visit and there were a lot of nearby places to eat.

The room was great. The daily 3hr Happy Hour is beyond generous! My last stay was on a Monday during the NFL football season and hanging out in the lounge with the other guests and watching the game was a blast!

Room was disgusting. Smelled smoke as soon as I walked in. Went to call room service but the phone was not operational. Had to call the front desk with my cell. Filthy room, ants in shower and in my bed. Chair was stained, desk chair was greasy. Worse thing was when calling the front desk, hey came and said “yes I smell smoke” and then left without offering any room change or discounts. Stayed one night, skipped breakfast in an effort to leave ASAP.

This is a very nice BW. We have stayed at many BW and this one ranks top of the list. Clean, quiet, comfortable and hot fresh coffee! The price is great too and very close to our son's apartment. We will be staying here again when we come up for a visit.

We like staying here when we go to Milpitus,Ca to Levi Statium or around there cause they have a really great breakfast a nice Bar which you can get snack food. They even have pool in the summer months.

We had an excellent stay at this Best Western. The property is well maintained and attractive. The staff members were professional and friendly. The number of breakfast offerings was larger than usual for a Best Western. Though close to San Jose, the rates were slightly lower than in San Jose.

This hotel was way better than I expected. Our room was comfortable and clean and there is an outside porch with seating available direct from the room. The free breakfast was good, varied and served in the same area as their on site lounge so there is plenty of comfortable seating. The staff was always offering to help. Easily accessible from the highway and at a price better than anything comparable in San Jose which is only minutes away.

Amazing value for the area. Clean, quiet, and centrally located near dining, and activities. The hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly, the weather in this area is great, and it was very close to the locations I was visiting.

Great food, clean rooms, polite professional staff, good location, many amenities. I've stayed at this hotel about 20-30 times. Its in a great location very close to the freeway and McCarthy ranch shopping center which has many other good restaurants.

We stayed here prior to the Rolling Stones concert at Levis Stadium, about 5 miles away. Very clean place and service was equally great. Quiet at night and then a really good free breakfast in the a.m. I would stay here again for sure!

Manager Susan is working only during managers reception to collect tips from guests. It's been a week been calling frontdesk staff to send me my charging dock but as usual Susan is busy to collect dollar Bill's. Desk people can't ship my belongings even they have my credit card info. I feel sorry for hotel owner to have Manager like her...shame on bw.

I loved this hotel. We stumbled upon it. Soft bed. Great breakfast. They'll make you an omlet if you ask. Eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit etc. It was amazing. What a deal. The staff were so nice friendly and helpful! I will try to stay here Everytime we come into the area.

We stayed here for five nights. Our flight was delayed and so it was around 3 a.m. when we finally checked in, which was easy and simple. Other than the clerk who checked us in though, the rest of the staff was not very friendly (didn't say 'hi' or anything; just looked at us). But other than the staff, the hotel was very good. The room was clean and adequate for our stay but I have to say that the best part was having great water pressure in the shower. A lot of times hotel showers don't have good pressure, but this one was perfect. Also their breakfast selection was better than average - good amount of hot foods to choose from and a fountain drink dispenser. Easy access to the freeway and there were many eating options in the vicinity of the hotel. Note that the parking lot is fairly small and when we stayed there was a lot of construction workers with huge trucks/vans but parking was available on the street when we stayed. Would stay here again if needed.

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. The only downside was the bedding wasn't changed when I checked in. Other than that, everything else was clean. They also have awesome staff, great you everyday with a smile and very accommodating.

We stay this hotel when we are in Milpitas visiting family. They have a wonderful breakfast selection. Multiple hot food items such as eggs, meats, potatoes, waffles, french toast, etc. They also have a wide variety for beverages. The rooms are a good size and beds are comfortable. We have stayed in the winter and summer. Room temperatures are always perfect. We love the rooms with the sliding glass doors that lead to the balcony/patio. The pool is nice to cool off in. We have also stayed here when going to Great America. Very easy freeway access.

yah - A hotel that 'get's it' is all I need. Plenty of parking, swift and friendly check in, perfect room, amazing breakfast. The goal for me is to stay in hotels that I don't remember because they were exactly how they should be and this hotel is that.

This hotel has clean and nice rooms but the front desk staff are not honest. Right at the check-in the older lady was horrible...didn't care and I had to book online while standing in the lobby of the hotel. On check out they overcharged and claim that I did not give them the reward cards. I thought the manager would be nice....like one reviewer has mentioned as well....she turned out to be disappointment...out of courtesy I am not naming the individual. I am extremely disappointed...never stay in at a BW again. Please check your invoice and ask for receipts when you hand anything (cash, rewards cards, etc) at this hotel

I stayed at the hotel for a business trip. After a long day the fast and easy check in was great. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The room was nice and the bed was very comfy. There was complimentary coffee by the front desk. A bonus: The hotel is pet friendly.

I usually stay at Hyatt Place but was not available so stayed here. This is one of the best Best Western Plus hotels I have stayed at. They have a restaurant in-house that make omelettes to order for breakfast along with the usual continental breakfast options. Free Beer / Wine during happy hours from 5PM to 8PM and small snack bar. Rooms were very clean and hotel was well maintained. Will definitely use this hotel again when staying in the area.

I stayed at this hotel recently for about a week, based on the positive reviews here and elsewhere. This is a budget motel style hotel. It is fairly small, with open layout, very close to the 237 & 880 junction (and BTW adjacent to 880). The location is conveniently close to the freeways, and a lot of shopping & restaurants in the McCarthy ranch area. Rooms are quite small, but clean and well-maintained. There was only 1 window opening out into the corridor and it didn't allow enough light in. So the room was dark even during daytime which isn't very nice. There is a desk, a nice chair. They have a fridge & microwave in the room too, which is good. There is free wifi. The breakfast is typical, although less luxurious than some other hotels (fewer items) - they had juices, bread, bagels, scrambled eggs, tea/coffee choices. They also have a happy hour in the evening Mon-Thu which is decent - the food is okay, there is salad, tortilla chips, some meat items. They have free beer & wine. There is a laundromat which is open 9am-9pm. It is reasonably priced - about $2-3 for washer + dryer. There is also a small gym. The reception staff is very helpful. They keep coffee at the reception 24x7. One of the reviews mentioned this and I noticed it too: on weekdays there were a lot of huge pickups in the parking lot all the time. What's the deal? Everything is functional but this is the kind of place where you go back to sleep & shower - staying in the room too long can be depressing because the rooms are small, dark.

This seems to be a hotel that caters mostly to business travelers. The lounge is not open on Friday or Saturday nights. The happy hour is only Monday through Thursday. However, we did not have a bad stay. Check in was quick and the staff was friendly. We were given complementary toothpaste when we asked at the front desk when we realized we forgot ours. The lobby is small but there is an area on the second floor that has two computers that you can hang out in. The hotel is near the interstate and many restaurants. We had a refrigerator and microwave in the room, which I always appreciate. The breakfast was really good. There were plenty of food options and many coffee options. I read you can also get omlets made to order but, again, this is only during the week. There were a few things that made me not give this hotel a higher rating. We were in Room 224. The bathroom was very small. There is not a sink outside the bathroom so getting ready in the morning is harder. There are limited plugs in the room and only one mirror outside the bathroom, which made drying my hair hard as I could not stand in front of the mirror as there were no plugs near the mirror. I am a detail person so little things like this have an influence on my rating.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff, manager was very nice. Great hot breakfast and nice happy hour. Cookies and coffee in the lobby was a nice touch. Would like to see more channels like HLN, A&E, Lifetime Tex on the TV but otherwise it was a nice stay. Would definitely stay again.

I'm a Marriott person but my new company that I'm working for gave me a budget to stay under while I was traveling, so I could t go with my usual brand choices. I will tell you I was very impressed with this hotel. There's a lot of nice touches that make business travel pleasant here. I'll list a few: -amazing free breakfast: the best free breakfast I've had, there's an option to have omelets! The food is actually very delicious -free evening beer at happy hour. I don't know if you get just one or more than one but it was nice to get one while I was there. Also there's an appetizer bar that's also free and was very tasty. -comfy bed. I'm picky, and I had no complaints about the bed. -free in room water. Just nice to not have to pay for a case of water and slug it back to the hotel, or pay $5 a bottle in the lobby. -free fruit in lobby. There's also cookies. I will definitely be selecting this hotel on my future travels to the area. The staff is very nice, which makes it pleasant. It's close to shopping and the freeway, getting an Uber was no issue. This place is truly a hidden gem.

To start this place has an amazing hot breakfast. This is one of the best hot breakfasts that is included in the room rate I have had. The hotel appears to be a little older but the rooms are in great condition. The beds are extremely comfortable.

In my opinion, this hotel is an exceptional place for people who like to enjoy a beautiful accommodation in Milpitas of California . It is full of characteristic of the pleasant repose.It can make all guests comfortable , enjoyable and convenient.

Paper thin walls. We stayed a few nights and had the worst sleep of any hotel we have ever stayed. All before 8am, you can hear everyone's doors slamming super loudly (hinges on doors are horribly designed), can hear people upstairs stomping around or showering, voices in adjacent rooms are super clear to listen to.... and house keeping yells loudly over their vacuum once they start (They also like to slam doors). Stayed here before an international business trip, got terrible sleep. Considering the price point, its pretty unacceptable. Have slept better at crappy motels. Nice to have free parking though. And seemed clean.

Clean room and hotel, it has a gym with a sauna and steam room, lovely water fountain, it's located next to shops and restaurants and is very close to shopping. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to going back there very soon. Thanks for the great service, keep up the great work!

We enjoyed our stay here. Even though it was close to two major roads, I rarely heard any road noise inside the room. We did hear walking around noise from the room above us. The breakfast was good, there were a lot of choices including fresh fruit. The room had a wall divider as you entered. Made the room feel a little smaller, but gave privacy in the room. Would definitely stay here again.

This quaint remodeled hotel is absolutely perfect for everyone. We stay there everytime we go to milpitas and they remember our names,have warm cookies waiting, a bar, pool and a very reasonable price.

We were in San Jose for a funeral. This Best Western had the best rates for the area. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent! Cookies in the lobby in the evening. No problems other than the Wi-Fi didn't work until the desk clerk reset the router. The room had a nice balcony. Try to get a room facing the parking lot - we did not experience any highway noise from that side.

We took a chance and booked this hotel online and we are so glad we did! It was a short 10 minute drive to SJ airport, so it was convenient for our early am flight. Back to hotel, beautiful room, comfy bed, large balcony area with a table and two chairs. FREE Happy Hour and food!!! And the food was really good too! We heard from a lot of people staying there that breakfast is also very good, we didn't get to have breakfast since we had an early flight; however, they handed us a "Grab and Go" bag when we left. It was filled with all sorts of snacks (water, Pringles, granola bars, fruit snacks, microwave popcorn, cookies....so special!) And it was handed to us in a cute polka-dot gift bag. All of the staff were amazing!! Howard helped us out alot, very kind man. We met the hotel owner too, he came over to us while we were enjoying Happy Hour and asked how our stay has been. Very personable man. Honestly, we loved our stay here and will always use this hotel when we have a San Jose flight to catch. Thank you ALL STAFF for being so friendly and kind....sad to say but this day and age that is something hard to come by....keep up the great work!

This was an excellent Best Western! When we arrived they were in the middle of a remodel on the front entrance. The construction crew was beyond polite and went out of their way to make sure we knew how to enter the hotel lobby for check in ( I know they aren't part of the hotel and you will not likely have dealings with them after the work is done.. but since that was so rare I had to mention). The Excellent guest service continued throughout our stay from check in, breakfast and check out. every employee we passed by during our stay was smiling and asking if we needing anything... including all the house keepers as we were leaving. The room was very nice and included a very nice balcony (it appeared as if most if not all had this balcony feature). When we went into the eatery for breakfast I was blown away with the level of service and quality of food on the buffet style food line. Their selection of food on the buffet was by far the most expansive I had ever seen at a Best Western and was matched by amazing quality. The surrounding area is not bad and has some other good food options nearby. The hotel is very easy on and off of the freeway. We originally chose this hotel due to the Very short drive to the Winchester Mystery House and Great America and the commute to both was very easy to and from this Hotel. I would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area.

*Note - I stayed here in September 2014, not September 2017. I stayed here when I was on a course in Sunnyvale (top tip - if you're on a course in Sunnyvale, stay there otherwise you're looking at 1hr+ to travel down the freeway if you time it wrong!). The hotel is right off the freeway and is easy to find (albeit not after a long transatlantic flight and big delays with car hire at SFO). The Great Mall isn't too far away either and kills the time in the evening. Hotel room was a good size, bathroom was good and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good as well. And the bar was shut on a Friday evening - not sure what that's all about? I'd happily stay here again. There is a pool outside but I didn't use it. I decided to eat fast food and drink beer instead - don't judge me.

Friendly staff, great breakfast selection and very clean rooms. Easy access to major freeways and surrounded by local restaurants and markets. Easy online booking process and fast confirmation. Reasonable rates!

This is an excellent property, made even better by the finally completed remodel. Happy hour is a real plus! I stay here whenever in the San Jose area; a few minutes away, nut worth it! Staff is always very friendly and welcoming!

Husband and I stayed for one night while visiting family in Milpitas. We arrived before normal checkin time, so perhaps the room we were given (#101) was the only one available? My, oh, my. Do NOT be deceived by the online photos if our room is in any way the typical room here. While website shows bright, large rooms with either a king bed, or two queens, we got a strange room with the smallest queen bed (it may have been a double bed, not a queen.) It was on the first floor, with French door that opens to walkway outside. GREAT, because room was so stale and dank that we needed to air it out. Room 101 is very poorly configured: 1/2 of the room is strangely arranged with poor utilization of the available space. 1) a tub and toilet jammed into a small space, so small that door almost hits toilet. 2) a long counter with a lone sink and nothing else, no vanity mirror, limited amenities and mismatched toiletries 3) a walk in closet, with annoying hangers, plywood railing and shelves painted a dark depressing brown 4) a strange open closet with plywood shelves, covered with peeling paper??? Why all the storage areas? Why space so poorly utilized? The other half of the room was even WORSE. A bed, 2 nightstands, a desk, 1 desk chair, a bureau with TV on top, microwave and fridge, and a small table with coffee maker all jammed together. Literally jammed together. (Some items would have been better placed in the useless shelf area or on the long counter with the lonely sink in the other half of the room. 1. Website offers/shows 1 King or 2 Queens. This was the smallest queen bed ever, more like a double. Placed off center from the king sized headboard mounted to wall, so I knew right away it was not a king sized bed. And for some reason, the king bed had been removed, and replaced with a small bed. Probably because of the poor use of space a larger bed would not fit?? So strange and unacceptable. 2. Big floorlamp (would not light, so it uselessly took up floor space) but no armchair next to it. In fact, only chair was the desk chair, so 1 of us had to sit on bed. 3. Space between bed and bureau very narrow. Hard to maneuver. Note to staff: mount TV on wall and put drawers in the strange closet/shelf area. Lose the bureau. Free up some space at foot of bed. 4. Dark, dreary, depressing colors. Had to keep lights on, it was so dark. Allegedly renovated recently, but does not appear to be. Looks like 1985. 5. Allegedly non smoking room. Yet, there was a cigarette burn hole in the sheer curtains the size of my head. And cig butts thrown around the exterior door area. Ewwww.. I told the staff at desk about the hole, they came to look. I should have asked for another room. While there is a pool, coffee in lobby, cookies at check in, free breakfast, etc, do not be deceived. This is NOT a BW Plus. They appear to be refurbishing the property, but our room was just plain bad. See the pictures. Very thin walls, could hear voices and the person upstairs walking and even turning over at night in squeaky bed. Towels and linens were substandard. I saw the positive reviews, so we must have been given a BAD room, the worst. So, just be aware. We will not return. Too many other hotels in area.

The location is easy accessible by freeway with 2 nearby gas stations. During weekdays, there is happy hour for snacks and free flow of beer. The price for each night varies so you've to check the difference with other hotels for comparison.

Stayed three nights. Much better than average breakfast and evening happy hour. Good quality beers, full bar, and ample space. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and staff is very pleasant and accommodating. They allow dogs on first floor for $20 each per night. Rates we very reasonable for the area. A lot of contractors, Tesla people, and a few high tech folks; all in all and nice group of patrons. Met the owner, who frequents the lounge and makes sure his customers are taken care of.

This renovated Best Western offers good value, cleanliness, and a very good breakfast. The staff is very hospitable . Very nice in-room amenities. We were lucky to stay in one of the more spacious rooms in the auxiliary building.l We will certainly be back!

This is my favorite place to visit when i come to Milpitas. The rooms are nice and the beds are so comfortable.They provide a huge buffet style breakfast every morning with a wide variety of choices. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The have been having alot of renovations going on for a while now but constantly upgrading and improving the place. The were able to open the big lobby now, add a business center, change the doors to ones with the tap key locks, and added an elevator. I absolutely love this place!

The pictures online are miss leading; if you are part of some kind of construction team with truck then this is the place for you! Large storage pods blocking the entrance (apparently they have been there for sometime) Trucks use the overhang to lobby as there personal parking spaces.

Clean rooms. Excellent value. Fantastic breakfast/happy hour. Friendly staff. Conveniently located to 880, 680, restaurants, shopping, Check in is very easy. Checkout fast via email. The staff knows the silicon valley clientele and takes care of them.

Dirty, Smelly, Musky, Substandard.......best adjectives I could use to describe this place. I read through the comments after I checked in and quite frankly should have done so prior to and I would have gone else where. The cost of hotels in the area was through the roof and $224 for this place seemed to be a bargain. While a bargain given the choices, it would have been better to stay in Morgan Hill and drive into town. This place shows to be under construction for a year now......when is it going to be complete? Level 1 is ready??? I stayed on the 1st floor, my room was not representative of a remodel with dirty carpet and rusted bath tub. Plain and simply put........not a good place to stay at!

I have been staying here for the past few years after attending San Jose Earthquake games, being only 10 minutes away from the stadium and being right off of the 880 freeway, it is ideal for a stay over before my trip home. The hotel has been under renovation for some time but I was told they are waiting for final city approvals to reopen fully and while the buildings are done, the parking lot still need work. Checking in and out was fast and easy. Rooms are very clean and freshly renovated. Bed was comfy, the air conditioner was easy to us, the bathroom was in good working order and the internet speed was great for general searching and use. Breakfast is always a treat in the morning with a good assortment of hot and cold items presented in a very easy display. I fully intend to stay here again soon.

The beds are so comfortable and the atmosphere just always seems perfect. Never want to check out once I'm checked in, never do I feel so welcome as I do then when I am at one of BW's locations. Plus my Shih Tzu is always welcome.

Hotel is still in renovation but it look like better in all service. Besides of its normal activities, everything get all the best including the luxury breakfast, evening reception that enough for people who like traveling with all conveniences. Thanks this hotel and hope it keep going as its tradition work everyday in Milpitas.

Although remodel is in progress, only the exterior is affected. Great room with an outdoor patio, easy access to major roads, yet it road noise was low at night. I enjoyed the best hotel breakfast ever at this property,( the kitchen staff makes an incredible omelet!), This property is definitely on my list whenever I'm in this area

When you have to travel for business, finding a hotel that makes you feel at home is a great thing. This hotels owner takes pride in his establishment, and treads guests like friends. They have a bar restaurant. The food is adequate, the bar and social atmosphere is outstanding. The place is almost always at capacity, so don't wait to make reservations. If you need to stay in the Milpitas area, it is very central.

My room was infested with bed bugs and the management will not refund my money for the room. I have called 3 times in two weeks and get a different lie each time I talk to the manager. I would not recommend staying at this motel even if it were free.

I was very impressed with the level of business professionalism at Best Western-Milpitas. I loved the décor and the colors in my room. I would prefer 2nd floor next time. Happy hour was the best surprise with the awesome food. I did not have to got to a separate restaurant to eat. I like the availability of the multiple TV's one can watch. The breakfast was the best. I did not like the coffee machine location and the line back up it caused in the am time frame. The cookies in the lobby was amazing. It was like "thank you" for coming home and now relax, you are in good hands.

This is the best stay we've had at any Best Western. The owner went out of his way to ensure that we had the best possible stay. We've stayed at many Best Westerns in the area when we come into town for 49ers games. From now on we will definitely be staying at this location because the service was so good. The breakfast was one of the best as well!

This is a clean and well located hotel with nice staff. For the money this hotel has the amenities and service needed to make your stay solid. Although the parking lot is under construction, the staff more than made up for the inconvenience. I recommend this to anyone trying to avoid the ridiculous prices for hotels with average service in the San Jose area.

There were freshly backed cookies in the lobby when we checked in. The room was clean and the water was hot. Full service breakfast was a nice touch. The TV, microwave and fridge worked well. Early morning traffic was a bear, but it was in a good location for us to get to our conference quickly. The only complaint was there were not enough towels in the room for the number of people that were staying, but the staff quickly took care of us. Parking was a little tight, but they accommodated us.

5 star value. I am having chemo for pancreatic cancer every two weeks on Friday at Stanford. First I check on how clean a room is. Room 115 is spotlessly clean except for a couple of mildew spots in the caulking of the bathtub. A 10 on clean. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Large super clean bathroom. Soft great towels. Large great tv. Happy hour from 5-8 pm mon-thurs. Free beer & wine. Salad, spaghetti, chicken wings, cheese and crackers & more. Nice. Free really good buffet breakfast. Waffles, French toast, bacon, sausage, delicious scrambled eggs and much more. They are renovating. First floor rooms done. 2nd floor next. Request first floor. We just reserved our next stay on October 26. Great room. Great people. Great service. . Great super clean rooms. Great free 3 hour long happy hour. Great free buffet breakfast. Large dining room plenty of chairs & 4 large televisions to enjoy during 3 hour happy hour. The great room and the dining room are the highlights. Right now nothing fancy about the rest of hotel. You have to walk around construction. Temporary small check in desk. The Silicon Valley rooms are expensive during the week. We found this hotel to be the best value around on a cancellable room with a king size bed. 5 star value.

This hotel is in the middle of a renovation and the expense of the hotel stay didn't match expectations of the room. I routinely travel for business and have stayed in much nicer hotels for much less. I have stayed at multiple Hampton Inns across the Midwest and have found that they are a better value for the money spent on a stay.

rooms is to small for 2 beds. Hard to access balcony bed is in the way of the door. Doors have damage. Bathroom is very small. Door keys suck. elevator out of service. Parking is a pain with construction. No lobby entrance. Mid week price hike

The hotel was under renovation, which made the stay difficult for us because the accessibility room was furthest away from the temp lobby. Service staff is awesome, from check in to check out, including folks working breakfast and cleaning after. Breakfast was best continental breakfast I have had in 21 years of traveling. Bathtub caulk had a lot of black, mold or mildew.

I stayed here overnight as a go-between from Los Angeles to Monterey. This quaint little property ticked all the boxes. Staff are super, the rooms (while a touch tired) are spotless and large, and the evening happy hour and bountiful breakfast are excellent inclusions. Sleep comfort is terrific on the firm mattress - one minor issue is that the AC kicks in and off all night as it struggles to maintain a truly consistent temperature.

I like to stay at this hotel in my old hometown; it's actually on the edge of the neighborhood I grew up in, and is perfect for reunions with old friends. It's also very convenient in proximity to the San Jose airport.

Front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and the fresh baked cookies at check in was a nice touch. Older property but with recently renovated rooms that were great. Expanded breakfast selection was almost like a mini buffet.

The hotel is still under construction when I checked in on Sept 2, 2017. This hotel is not a plus because it does not have enough outlet for charging phones, tablets, etc... The room is so dark even though it has only two lights. The hallway is so hot and no air conditioning, the stairway is hot too and dog smelly. The internet is also very slow.

This is great place to stay the room nice they have a fantastic breakfast. Then if you come in at night and don't want to leave you can eat right there. As they serve dinner items or snake items and they have a full bar there also which is great. Plus we where told M-thr. from 6 to 9 they put out free snake food and beer is free for 3 hrs if you like beers. There pool is only 5 ft deep but it was still nice to swim in. And another plus it isn't fare from Levi Stadium and you can take Uber over there if you want which we did and saved a lot of money. We plan on staying there again we really like the place. We even went to Fisherman Wharf and wasn't that hard or long the get there there.

Great room! Great stay! I highly recommend it! Centrally located in Silicon Valley, too. We were so tired upon arriving and the huge, fluffy, king sized bed and clean bath with granite top counters was greatly appreciated.

The front desk staff needs to be retrained in customer service. My cleanliness problem was not taken care of. Breakfast was GREAT, as were they breakfast staff. The coffee options were perfect, very happy they provided latte's.

Exterior is not so hot at first appearance, but the value for what you get is fabulous! The bed and pillows are comfy, the room was a nice size, free wifi and breakfast. The Breakfast was really good. Hot breakfast with a lot of choices. Love the coffee machine. Any coffee! Greeted by cookies, coffee and free bottled water in the room. Great location also with tons of places around.

I have read some reviews on TripAdvisor about this inn and I have tried to understand the reviews based on my experience. As the Inn is going under renovation, there are some noises which can make someone uncomfortable. Sometimes it is possible to hear what is going on the next room and toilet being flushed on upper floor. But besides all that, I loved the room i have stayed and how it was maintained. The staff are nice and very communicative. Breakfast is OK even if you have few selections. Wifi is excellent and I didn't have any challenge connecting my devices. For me, this is a nice property and I hope it will be much better after renovation work is complete.

Overall excellent experience. the breakfast was great. I would stay here again, and recommend this hotel to others. Parking was a little difficult due to construction currently going on at the hotel, but, it ended up not being to9o much of a problem.

Hotels are ridiculous in this area so this one seemed more reasonable. Part of that is due to being under construction which should be complete soon. The room was clean. I can't remember sleeping on a more comfy bed anywhere. This was helpful after driving all day. The shower was refreshing too. It wasn't like being misted by so many other showers I've experienced. The refrigerator was also helpful as I brought food items with me. I was pleased to keep all my food items from spoiling. The room was very quiet to outside noises so we slept like a rock!

I felt as though I was at a Motel 6. The parking lot was small and there were a lot of trucks. The lobby tiny and uncomfortable. I checked in, received my room but it did not work in my door. I had to head back to the front desk where they solved that problem. When I entered my room it was very smelly and musty. There was some fabric pieces on the floor, and the telephone did not work. I went back to lobby to let them know, the gentleman from the front desk followed me back to my room to confirm that the phone did not work. He told me I'm sorry about this I don't know what to do I can't fix it. And left. I went to check out the bathroom where the drain in the tub was somewhat rusted and looked like it was old and eroding. The back of the bathroom door was peeling and the fan dud not work. When I inspected the bedding there were a few spots. The head board looked as though it needed to be wiped down. I was disgusted. I will never recommend this hotel nor will I ever return

Don't even think about this place until they do some major updates. Limited parking. Horrible internet. Phones did not work. You could hear your neighbor shower and use the bathroom. Hard bed and the rooms needed major updates. If you had a room on the 2nd floor you had to carry your own suitcases up 2 flights of stairs (no elevator). Staff did not seem to care about your concerns.

The bed was... pathetic. I usually pay the extra 40-100 dollars for a Best Western room because the beds are decent enough. But this one was a huge let down. The bed was stiff and very uncomfortable. I've noticed that many hotels have put their AC units on thermostats, well I don't know if these units work all that well with a thermostat because this AC barely worked throughout the day (it would kick on and off), even though the thermostat said the room was 75 and we had it set to 70. However, once it finally decided to work continuously, it got the room down to arctic levels. At the very least the room was clean, so that was nice. The breakfast was, considering they had a full working kitchen, pathetic. The eggs were literally sitting in the buffet tray, in a pool of what I'm hoping was water. I understand that making a LOT of scrambled eggs is a pain in the butt, but seriously? That was unappetizing. All in all, for what I paid for the room, it wasn't my favorite. I expect a LOT more from Best Westerns, especially the plus.

Hotel was under construction so very messy. Parking was also crowded. Check in area was very crowded and poorly lit. Only one person working and he was busy so he couldn't help us right away. He could have used more help. Bed was wonderful, however not enough blankets in room and when requested, was told they didn't have any extra.

My family and I stayed at this place for the 1st time. Customer service and place was dirty. Broken fridge, stains on blankets and bad odor in room. Told the front desk and did not nothing about the situation. No accomodation at all. Worst Best Western I ever stayed at.

Renovations are underway. The main entrance is fenced off, and much of the parking lot is filled with pickups. The entire place has a tired feel to it. There is a temporary entrance in the bar/restaurant, the hall-way isn't quite up to a finished look yet.. The exterior and grounds will eventually need to be updated as well.That said, the room I stayed in was well-appointed with new furnishings and wall finishes. The bathroom is nice. Relative to other Silicon Valley pricing, it's good. In 2 or 3 months, it might be very nice. It is a 20-30 minute drive to most businesses in Sunnyvale and East.

Best Western Plus Brookside Inn - NEVER fails when it comes to the BEST sleep ever!! MOST comfortable beds/pillows!!! Friendly staff with SMILES!! Breakfast IS the bomb!!! You won't regret it!! Stayed here 3x and everytime i'm satisfied!

Nice hotel undergoing some renovations. Easy access to freeway. Excellent breakfast with lots of choices. Rooms well appointed and modern, tight spacing though. We had a BW employee discount which greatly helped.

We're back to Milpitas trying to give this hotel another chance to prove themselves: the renovation of the lobby & the installation of the elevator are still "in progress", the room still has the "strange" odor (we're told that the hotel's using the "sandalwood" air freshener?), the customer service still needs to have some improvements. We did not have their breakfast this time, even this is one of the best within Best Western Plus hotels: cappuccino machine, eggs made to order, lots of options for breakfast favorites..... Hope that they'd get their act together next time....

The staff was terrific, but the hotel was under construction. We looked out onto a pile of garbage from our room and much of the hotel was torn up. Also, there were sticky places on the carpet. I would, however, stay there again after all of the construction is finished.

Diamond Member wasn't offer Elite Package. Cozzy place nice outdoor patio and furniture. Very comfortable beds Fast WiFi Internet Download and IploadU speeds 60Mbps! New 50' Samsung TV but local channels HBO poor.

This hotel is reasonably good value compared with a lot of other places in the area (meaning it's still expensive but not ludicrous!). At first glance I thought, as others have said, "you get what you pay for". The reception was a pokey little desk on the way into the bar/breakfast room and everything felt a little dirty and run-down. However, they are doing some pretty major renovation work and building a completely new reception area which explains a lot. I'm sure it will all be far better when the work is finished. Apart from all that, though, it was a very pleasant stay. The staff were really nice and helpful. Breakfast was good - the freshly-made vegetarian omelette was excellent. There's also a happy hour in the evenings with free drinks and snacks for guests. They're trying really hard and I would happily give it another go once the works have been completed.

Nice little cozy, convent hotel. Good breakfast but come early as they run out of food fast and by my experience don't restock. As there was no syrup for the waffles, and they ran out of toast and pastries. Other then that..they have a great happy hour beers are $3.00 and if its Sunday-Thursday beer and wine is free from 5-8.

Everything is the Bay Area is expensive and though this place is slightly less than some others, "you get what you pay for" rang true. The old hotel lobby is being remodeled and construction is underway, with noise and dust everywhere. A temporary lobby has been set up at another door, but there is no space there and you must go back outside with your luggage and into another, inconvenient door to reach your room. And since the elevator will be in the new lobby, there is none now so prepare to haul your luggage upstairs if you get a second-floor room. There is insufficient parking and the lot will likely be full if you arrive later; some of the lot is blocked off for the construction equipment, materials, and access. Room details were bizarre, with hangers that could not be removed from the bar to hang clothes (very inconvenient for pants--do you really have guests who steal hangers?), the "aisle" between the foot of the bed and the cabinet was almost impassibly narrow, and there was a great doorless closet with enough entirely-unnecessary shelf space for a long-term family. WiFi was weak and spotty. I'll stay elsewhere next time, even if a few $ more.

Room of over really noisy kids playing and run in the room overall everything was nice and just fine very nice breakfast this best Western is being remodeled but everything was safe and clean we had a nice day

The breakfast buffet was excellent. The hotel offered a free happy hour which included wine and food. Also very good. Didn't have to go out for dinner. Staff were very courteous, rooms was good size and quite quiet. Good choice!

Good hotel, but he wifi in the room did not work. Could not be fixed the first evening and was not fixed when I left 4 days later. POOR! There was a work around which was to use a Cat 5 cable Service persons was very nice and everyone worked to please me during my stay.

This Motel is under construction. Parking is very limited. Rooms are noisy and dark. The room we were in had NO Internet, Very Dark and the Bed needs to be retired. One of the worst Motels I have stayed at in a VERY long time. I should have read the reviews before I booked. All of them are true. If you are looking to use as a work area, no plugs, no internet and lighting is very bad. If you are looking for a comfortable bed, NOT HERE. If you are looking to feel un safe at night..... This is your place. Bad Choice all around.

Booked room week in advance. At no time was I told hotel undergoing construction or limited parking. Nothing is listed on their website, either. Arrived at hotel and there was no parking in the lot or in the street. Asked desk clerk where I should park and was told, I don't know. Asked for a refund because there was no parking and was told he could not because I booked through a third party. I booked room through BW and not a third party. Have contacted location multiple times through email and phone and have not received a response. Will not book a reservation with them again.

I stay at Best Western Brookside when I come to the Bay Area. It is centrally located to family, bingo halls, the SAP center. The In-and Out restaurant is open late for great burgers. Starbucks is close, great restaurants with-in two miles. The room is always comfortable, quiet even though it's close to the freeway, which is also a advantage. The ONLY thing I would have changed is the pillows are too thick!

Usually I can depend on Best Western for quality. This BW had a bed that sank to middle & was lumpy. Bedspread was stained. Room smelled. Construction going on caused inadequate parking. Dirty sock in room.

This is not a Best western Plus as advertised. Maybe it will be but its still having a lot of construction on it. You have to go the the shady side of the building to get to the stares to the 2nd floor. The hall smells like Skunk weed (Marijuana) and we had people screaming down the halls during both nights we were there. The designated smoking area is right bellow the (NON-SMOKING room balcony's) The clientele is that of what you'd find at less than an EZ8 hotel than a Best western. We paid for a Best western Plus and defiantly did not get it.

Night Office Manager was so rude and didn't care what I had to say. She didn't answer the phone when I got to my room minutes later asking for someone to fix the AC. Later the next day I found that the Day Office Manager was great, super friendly and was on top of it when I asked for assistance. She had someone come fix my AC, Phone and Bill. Overall after that it was a pleasant stay. The hotel was under construction so it was hard to find parking.

Daytime construction to the hotel and music at night coming up from the bar lounge through the floor and no elevator. The parking is so tight you have to get there real early or windup parking in the business parking lot next door

Stayed over night while attending concert at SAP. Very convenient and great price/value! Breakfast was included and much better than I anticipated. Room was clean and quiet. close to restaurants and markets. Has microwave and mini fridge! unexpected and appreciated!

Conveniently located, nicely maintained and a very nice hot breakfast! Had our show dogs with us and loved the grounds and the room. Noisy neighbors were the biggest problem. Staff was a bit lax in responding, but otherwise a great place to stay.

We have stayed here many times in the past.and are pleased to say they keep improving over the years. The amenities and the price and the convenience to family makes it our go to place to stay in this area.

Its very conveniently located and I had no issues with hotel or the staff. The rooms were clean and staff were courteous. The happy hour was an extremely nice thing to have. They had nice variety of breakfast and even cooked custom omelettes. I would go back anytime.

Room was filthy, in poor condition, AC put out a horrible odor, bed was extremely soft and re-modeling construction started at 7:30 AM after checking in after mid-night. Hotel staff did not notify me of construction upon checking in.

Close enough (15 minute drive) to San Jose, yet avoid the steep downtown hotel rates. Great deal with breakfast and happy hour included. Happy hour is great, as long as you're okay enjoying it with a bunch of construction crews. Small gym with 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 cable weight machine.

The hotel is old but it is being updated. Cons: Our room which was an updated room #119 but it still had a little bit of an oder (old hotel smell). The a/c was a bit loud. I could hear the people above us. Location is not the best. Pro: Staff is nice. Breakfast was good compare to most hotels. They had soy milk by request. Hotel had a full bar. An outdoor seating area. A decent gym. Good for a cardio workout. Free parking. Overall not bad.

Room is pleasant and neat but the goodies were of very low grade quality particularly bathing bars . apart from everything is okay. we couldn't get parking and have to park my car on the roadside parallel parking .

We did not know the facility was being remodeled until we pulled into the parking lot. This would not have been an issue except that the patio table and chairs outside our room were covered in dirt and we had to try and clean them off before we could sit down and relax. Our room was nice but the drinking glasses were smudged and dirty as though a cleaning rag had been swiped across them. I am so glad I happened to look before using them. The bath towels were also very rough. The breakfast was good, though. I'm not sure this location rates the "Plus" status.

The hotel was in a great location. The hotel staff was helpful and courteous. We would stay there again. The breakfast had a variety of hot and cold items. this was another nice stay at a Best Western property.

Our room #120, was located on the ground floor which had a patio walkway with table and chairs to relax outdoors. The room was very spacious, clean, well maintained, and beds and pillows were comfy. Amenities included a large flat screen TV, refrigerator, microwave, free WIFI and excellent water pressure in the shower. Breakfast included: made to order omelettes, a waffle maker to make your own fresh waffles with toppings and whipped cream, bacon/sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt, choice of cereals, pastries, muffins. There's juice, a machine that makes hot chocolate, coffee, lattes, and cappuccinos to a strength you might like. The hotel is currently under some renovation but didn't create any problems, it was still quiet and comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Definitely recommend this hotel as we stayed two nights and will stay again when in the area.

I needed a room for one night and was so pleased with my choice of BW+. Front Desk and Housekeeping staff were very helpful, friendly, and cheerful and the room was exquisite! Furnished with what looked like brand new furniture, room #104 was gorgeous and had double-doors that led out to a tiled sitting area with two chairs and a table. The bathroom was nicely appointed and the bed was so darn comfortable, that I managed to get 11+ hours of uninterrupted sleep - pure heaven! Unfortunately, I slept right through the complimentary breakfast, which other guests said was outstanding and included delicious hot items. Nor did I take advantage of the hotel's many amenities, including the swimming pool, gym, or complimentary social hour in the lounge – heck, I never even turned on the television, with its inviting large screen – once my head hit the pillows, I was sound asleep! I've always been very happy with Best Western Plus facilities and this one was a real gem. Don't let its proximity to the highway scare you off – I didn't hear a sound all night and slept so late into the morning that I had to hustle to vacate the room by noon!

Property is undergoing remodeling but did not impact my stay. Haven't stayed here for a few months but staff still greeted as returning guest. Breakfast attendant remembered my omelet preference and asked if I wanted one prepared.

We are in Room 129, my husband & son was there one night before I arrived. I walked into the room and they had the fan blasting with the windows open. I knew right away they were trying to air out the room. I smelled a very strong MUSTY odor coming from the carpets. When we brought it to the attention of the front desk, the front desk clerk(man) said its because all of the furnitures are new and they have to air out - "that is what you are smelling." My husband and I actually have extensive hotel/hospitality industry experience and that smell is NOT from new furniture but rather a smelly, dirty carpet that is long overdue of shampooing! It's a shame that he thought we are gullible to his explanation. The furniture are new but bad move to put it in a room with dirty, smelly carpeting. If they are improving the hotel w new furniture then they should have also replaced all the shower curtains - as you can see from my picture, it is old. The bedding cover also had a rip and hope in it. Guests can tell what is new or not so its a disappointment when hotels and their representatives(Front Desk Staff) think they can insult our intelligence.

Traveling on business, watching the budget. Room was clean and be was comfortable! Staff was great and the FULL breakfast and the AMAZING happy hour (drink and enough food for a dinner). Right off freeway, close to San Jose area. Not a great part of town... but once inside, all was good.

This BW Plus property is one of the best hotels I've stayed at - and that includes 5 star Island resorts! Alfie and Susan at the front desk are amazing! They are always so helpful and kind, they anticipate any need that I may have (like making sure I have an extra blanket), and they go out of their way to make sure my stay is comfortable. I have stayed at this property over 80 days since September 2015 and I have never had a problem or concern. There are reviews on the internet that have complained about the lack of an elevator to the second floor - but rest assured, the elevator installation is in progress right now! Also, please understand that there are maybe 10 steps up to the second floor (until the elevator is finished! :) - they are not difficult and the front desk will help you with your luggage. In addition, the Milpitas/San Jose/Silicon Valley is an INCREDIBLY expensive area - hotels rates are higher than other areas, but the BW Plus Brookside is always one of the best rates available. Even if you have to pay a few dollars more than others in the area, you will not be sorry. Be sure and read reviews of the other hotels before booking - there are some sketchy ones in this valley!

The hotel staff were helpful and friendly but the hotel was older and smelled bad. The beds were uncomfortable and it was not the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. There was not shampoo provided and not enough towels for our family.

Every hotel in Silicon Valley was either sold out or wanted two to three times their normal rates. I didn't even know this place existed, but now I'm glad I did. Got a clean comfortable room at a decent rate. I enjoyed the friendly staff and both the free happy hour and breakfast offerings. It's an quick and easy walk to a large variety of interesting ethnic restaurants. And it's not far from the Cisco Campus. Will stay here again when the need arises.

We were a little hesitant based on photos/videos my wife had seen on the web, but we had a great 3-night stay. Everyone wants clean - and it was. Bathroom was new and excellent. Our 2nd floor room had a very nice covered balcony. The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was best buffet we've had in the U.S. and we ordered omelets from another very helpful/friendly person. Room was neither large nor small. We had a king. All the amenities we wanted: fridge, microwave, internet, hair dryer, iron etc. It was close to a whole variety of good restaurants and only 15 minutes from Sunnyvale where we had meetings.

I was literally terrified walking to find food for dinner (bar shuts down early). SKETCHY neighborhood and kind of dirty hotel, especially for $250/night. Walls were paper thin - had to call the front desk about the couple above me - lady next door coughed ALL night long - I felt like I could hear her breathe. I've never written a bad review so I feel bad, but for $250/night - ICK. The one positive is the bartender, Jamie, who was awesome.

This Best Western is a great location for anyone coming to see an Earthquakes or 49ers game. This is my forth or fifth stay here after a game. Great rooms and a wonderful spread for breakfast. Stay here and enjoy a great rest.

This place provides many amenities to make up for the fact that it's located directly on the corner of 2 highways. On of the exit ramps is literally outside your window on the pool side. Call first and make sure you get a room on the parking lot side! Traffic is so loud as big trucks accelerate onto the ramp. This starts very early in the morning and continues all day. There's lots of motorcyclists and guys with fast cars showing off as they floor it onto the highway until really late at night on every day of the week. I stayed from Tuesday to Saturday. The Pool side rooms do not have patios, but the Parking Lot side rooms do. Buffet style breakfast is free from 6:30-9:30am and excellent considering. Probably the best free hotel breakfast I've had. It was 8:30am so turnaround was high and I'm sure they had just put out fresh stuff. French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage links, hashbrown patties were all great. Not soggy or overcooked. The coffee is from an espresso machine, which is a great idea but the need to use a better quality bean. Yogurt and cereal are available too. They provide coffee and cookies all day in the lobby. The parking spaces are all a little too small. I'd park further from the lobby to avoid dings in my car doors. There are a lot of fast food places near by, but no good or healthy restaurants. There is no room service, but they offer delivery from a local place that makes sandwiches, pizza and fried foods. The rooms are very nice for the price. Standard size with a mini fridge and microwave. The HDTV is pretty big and gets basic cable. The bathroom is very nice and I never ran out of hot water. Everything was pretty clean. The staff are not outgoing but they are friendly.

Dont do it. Homeless people living on one side of the hotel. completely over priced. The room we stayed in stunk. The service in the lounge, well there was none. Not a good part of town. When we made our reservation they told us it was right next our destination it was not.

First room I was given had the window open, smelled of carpet cleaner, and had some sort of large bodily fluid stain on the chair. Second room smelled of terrible mildew and had bodily fluids on the shower curtain. I have no idea how they justify $200 a night for this place. On the bright side, front desk clerk was incredibly helpful. The staff are friendly as anything. Just a very dirty, dingy hotel. Pass on this one.

Great place to stay. Roomy and comfy bed, good shower and clean. Close to shops, diners, supermarket and transport highways. Two story but no lift but ample parking. Free wifi and breakfast too. Enjoy.

The hotel was of an older vintage but clean, good size rooms and very friendly staff. Has free hot breakfast and happy hour from 5 to 8 from Sunday to Thursday (free beer, wine and snackie hot foods). I felt coming from Australia and not knowing the hotel rates in this area, the rate were on the high side.

We went to the Bay area for the Super Bowl. Not only was this Best Western the most reasonable rate wise; but the facility and staff were simply outstanding. The facility was pristine at all times and staff were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to assist us during our stay. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The hotel is a nice property with a friendly staff that I would put in the "Very Good" category. The only thing that's a little frustrating is how close they are to being GREAT. If they would just pay a little more attention to detail! Some examples: What looks to be a newly remodeled room with a bathroom door that is really chewed up at the bottom. A sparkling clean tub with a mildewed shower curtain. A great evening social hour that lasts until 8:00 with the food all gone at 7:00. It seems to be a favorite of construction companies and other blue collar business travelers. The hotel did seem to be mostly people traveling on business looking for a really good value (as I was). Perhaps due to the free breakfast (possibly the best free breakfast I've ever experienced at a hotel) and the evening social hour with free beer and wine. To be clear, there was nothing that would keep me from staying here again if the price was right. However, with just a little more effort and attention to the little things this place could be my first choice when in the San Jose area.

I love the Best Western PLUS in Milpitas. It is always clean, the staff are very friendly, the prices are great for this area, and it is close to many attractions. Alfie, at the front desk is a true gem and is always so helpful!

Thin ceiling makes for noisy 1st floor rooms. I was woken very early in the morning by someone walking around. Free beer/wine and snacks at happy hour was nice. Location has few decent restaurants close by, only strip mall mom and pop places. This would not be my first choice for lodging in this area.

Receptionist gave false statement to its customers on Thanksgiving day about having as normal as schedule in the website when making reservation. This is a trap which was discovered after customer's checking in . The hotel 's location was very good, OK with rooms and presentations , but it 's not perfect at something where to put a cover on like "social hours".

They did not have social hour as they advertised on the web from Sunday to Thursday even I called to asked them before making reservation (Receptionist said YES, but this was a trap with nothing hapenned).

The Best Western Brookside Inn is by far the "Best" :) Hotel in Milpitas at a decent rate (considering that the Silicon Valley is the most expensive place in the country according to recent studies), is very clean, and the staff are fantastic!

My husband and I stayed for 6 nights. The location is not too bad, close to the freeways, lots of places to eat around, and there are 2 gas stations. There is a smell in the hotel but that did not bother us. We just went to Walgreens and got us a cheap air freshener for our stay (we weren't in the room majority of the time, just to rest up). Breakfast is awesome. The food was excellent, perfect to just grab and go! The staff is super friendly, we were always acknowledge every time we came in and out of the hotel. They even have cookies at the front desk (which is really good). Another downside of this place beside the smell, they have no elevators. Even though it is a 2-story hotel, they have a nice big stairs at the front. But overall, I would still come back here to stay for a couple nights.

I always have the best service when staying at the Best Western Plus Brookside Inn in Milpitas California. The staff are very helpful and attentive, with Alfie being a stand out star. He always goes above and beyond when assisting guests with their needs. I always attempt booking at this location before searching elsewhere (and that is only if they are full). I prefer to stay here above all other hotel properties in the Silicon Valley, and as I travel on a weekly basis to the Milpitas area, I have stayed in quite a few other hotels and this Best Western is the best by far. Call them direct for the best pricing for business/corporate travelers.

The staff and the rooms were nice. I needed a new mattress. Half the bed sank 6 inches and the other have was firm. I was there for 4 days. There was a smell in the hotel the whole time. I didn't know if it was the carpeting or what. I inquired a few times about it but no one had an answer. if was enough of a smell that everyone in my group noticed. It was not a nice smell. over all the experience was ok. Great breakfast and free food at night was nice.

This hotel is very restful, great hot breakfast, very comfortable rooms and extremely pleasant staff. Needed to find a hotel near a family event close to freeway, but not noisy. I will definitely stay here whenever I am in the San Jose Fremont area.

we just love it~ quiet, convenient, tasty breakfast~ BEST WESTERN PLUS Brookside Inn is nice enough, with starbucks coffee machine, lovely little swimming pool, gym, cute fountain, fresh fruits,eggs and ham at breakfast, clean bathroom, spacious room~ totally nice~ and of a great location. don't miss the grocery outlet nearby, the big pack of chocolate is the lowest price we found among 5 cities in the US.

Very nice hotel with comfortable rooms. It is somewhat hidden but this makes it quiet. Good breakfast with some made to order items. Price was reasonable for this area. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Good for business travelers but also family vacations.

It is a very nice hotel. The service was great. the Room was large and comfortable. The beds were a little small, standard Best Western "queen" beds. Pillowtop was nice. The internet was fast. The breakfast was fantastic and the link sausage was the best I had ever eaten .

Stayed there in September 2015 for 3 nights, being on a business trip. The stay was generally okay, except for couple things: - The room had a quite noticeable smell as if it was smoked in (despite the "no smoking" sign). - When checking out early morning, I had to wait for 10 minutes for somebody to appear at the reception desk. - My spoon (which I left on the table) had disappeared after the cleanup. It was cheap old steel spoon, but it wasn't there when I needed it. The front desk staff wasn't able to locate it and return it to me.

I found last minute accommodation for business purposes at this site. The place has been remodeled partially, carpets, wallpaper, furniture. Yet its structure is old and you can hear your neighbors next door (no much privacy). I am a light sleeper and was woken up several times by people walking by or on the floor above. The room was comfortable and I did not have any allergy during my stay. Breakfast was very good as well as the happy hour.

Loved: The size and cleanliness of the rooms, the breakfast area (the selection of items, the option for fresh omelets and the serving staff (remember to tip them for good service even if you didn't have an omelet...they work hard!!)), loved the coffee machine where you can pick from a lot of different coffee type drinks, the lobby, most of the front desk and other staff, the fountain outside, that it was centrally located to where we wanted to visit but not having the price tag of the San Jose hotels. A 100% smoke free hotel. Not Thrilled: There was what sounded like a heard of elephants above us several times during our stay. The upstairs was either not well insulated or the folks staying walked extremely hard. It was bothersome that at a smoke free hotel several times (especially during the evening hours) when we went in the front door and we smelled cigarette smoke. At one point in the morning a couple was sitting right outside of the front door smoking. It is one thing to maybe do it out in the parking lot or out on the sidewalk away from the property but right at the front door? We partially chose this property due to the smoke free facility. We should not be able to smell smoke at all during our stay. The evening front desk lady was efficient but not overly friendly to my daughter when we were having wifi issues. They had to apparently reset the wifi which is fine it happens. The pool was great to cool off in, the 2-5 feet deep was a bit on the shallow side but would have been great if we had little ones. We would stay again but request a room on the 2nd floor. We stayed for 3 nights in from August 20-23.

Overall a nice hotel, friendly staff. Great breakfast with very good selections. . Undergoing remodeling of bathrooms. This created a small problem, but very minor. Price was high but area and time of year was a factor.
