Best Western Plus Launceston

A lovely place to stay, very close to the cbd. The rooms are cosy, plenty of room. Cleaning was impressive. Staff very helpful and the food was very good. Breakfast was plentiful and a good variety. It was hard to select! Prices were reasonable also.

It had a nice view however the rooms were kinda not very new the TV was hard to connect to. Check in staff was friendly, parking is extra cost. I asked if they had a charging cable I can borrow, mine was faulty and staff showed no initiative to help. The lady just looked at her drawer and said we don't have what you want.

This hotel is very old and badly in need of refurbishment. The bathroom for a superior room was shoe box size and out of the 1950's. Want your room cleaned, you have to put in a request The location was fabulous as it is right in the CBD, so close to everything

Expensive accommodation for the age of the decor, good location, admin were polite. Beds were poor, definitely not a deluxe room as advertised, for the price I would not recommend this place for couples. Definitely not value for money

The location is on a hill, but close to the centre and the wharf for the Tamar River cruises. Since I was with a tour, we were told to have breakfast in the Tramway bar. The breakfast buffet was great, lots of fruit on offer as well, which I very much appreciated. The room was clean and quiet, no issues with the internet.

I always stay at Best Western Plus in Launceston as it is so handy to everything. I like most of all the sleep experience because it is quiet, the king beds are great, and the pillows are just right. Breakfast is good value too, especially for the full buffet breakfast.

After going through some breakage issues with my luggage at the airport, the kind hotel staff let me check in early so I could sort out and clean my belongings. I've been able to use the guest laundry (laundry detergent sold at front desk) which was a real lifesaver.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, all amenities worked properly. The hotel's location is exceptional, in the city centre, close to the theatre and City park.

Staff were all great. The room was very clean and comfortable. I would request a walk-in shower next time. Restaurant was disappointing… my main course was forgotten and when it did arrive, the young children I had with me were getting restless. It was obviously prepared in a rush. Chips and fish batter very fatty and fish only just cooked. Salad dreadful. I had also asked when I booked 3 weeks earlier about gluten free options for children… the only GF item on the children's menu was ice cream! I would definitely stay again but eat elsewhere. Staff went out of their way, to accommodate us with a difficult situation we had. Nothing was a problem and it was handled very professionally. Ten of our family members stayed their, and we all would like the thank the staff at Best Western Launceston.

Convenient hotel at the city centre. Plenty of parking at back of hotel, reachable by back entrance, but closes at 6 pm, flat rate AUD6 per night. Check in & out was fast. Staff was couteous. Coffee & tea making facilities provided, but limited toiletries

We stayed at this hotel primarily for its proximity to the Princess Theatre. We were looked after very well and it was great value for money. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to be close to the Princess Theatre and CBD. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable and staff were very welcoming.

This is a great location, walking distance to shops. Facilities are great, laundry facilities, free wifi. Comfy beds and clean room. Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff. Check in and out was an easy process.

Our room was great, pretty good for the price. However we had to pay $6 for parking overnight at the accommodation which expired at 8:00am (checkout was 11:00am) and hotel staff did not tell us this which put us as risk for a parking ticket.

Stayed 2 nights, Clean spacious room. Very comfortable king size bed. Handy having the espresso coffee machine in our room. Great views from top level room. Easy check in. Carparking was easy to sort. Ate in house at the Tram restaurant , the meals we simple but filling and full flavoured

Slow in check in Need to fill in a google form to check in Key card could not access the room on the second day of the stay (booked for two nights) Slow in handling the issues because one was keeping on the phone while the other had to work with 10 guests. Except in a good location, overall experience in this hotel was not good.

Find somewhere else to stay. Best western is so outdated. Needs a revamp and a deep clean. Terrible value for money. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank godness we were only there 1 night.

The hotel was decent, clean and offered a nice view of the mountains and city. The bed was comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was very small, I really dislike the bathtub shower combination with a curtain. However, you get what you pay for! The hotel is central to all the shops and I was happy to find an anytime fitness just up the road. Parking is great, only $6 for central overnight parking.

We found this to be a good option, in walking distance of most Devonport attractions. Supremely comfortable beds, good if slightly dated bathrooms, and spacious rooms were all excellent. The main problem is inadequate soundproofing, which some other reviewers have mentioned. We had the in-house continental breakfast one morning, and found it significantly better than the one at the more expensive Grand Chancellor nearby. There is also an inexpensive in-house laundry.

Clean and comfortable. No fly screens on windows in main room or bathroom. Shower curtain in shower. I'd much prefer a shower screen. A bit of a musty smell to room. Friendly staff on front desk. Close to cafes and shops.

I should have trusted the review when it is given a 3.9 on Google. Upon booking a few days prior to our stay , we were given a free upgrade by David due to the number of pax (2 adults & 3 children). We reached at 2.30pm to check in on 09/11/2022 and it was a breeze with Jahidal Jakir. We proceeded to our room. Our suite had 2 rooms (1 with a Mitsubishi aircon, the other with a Daikin aircon). It was a really warm day, 28degC at its peak, and 1 of the rooms had a missing remote controller to the Daikin aircon. That's when the service went downhill. At 3.30pm, I called the reception to let them know that our suite had a missing remote controller. I was told she'll check with the colleague and get back to us. We were sweating profusely in the room even though the window was open. My spouse and I had to seek refuge in the room where our kids were going to sleep, but it had only 2 single beds and a couch. At 6.30pm, we dropped by the reception before heading out for dinner. We spoke to Ali about the missing remote to the Daikin aircon and was told she'll personally check our room. We reiterated that our suite had 2 rooms; Mitsubishi remote is there while the missing remote is to the Daikin aircon. We came back at 10pm, headed to the reception and was told by Ali that the missing aircon remote had been found on the wall and she had placed it on the table. We were puzzled because we definitely remembered looking at an empty remote holder to the Daikin aircon. True enough, when we returned to our suite, the remote Ali found was the Mitsubishi aircon remote. The Daikin aircon remote was still missing. I came down at 9.40pm to the reception to let her know that the Daikin aircon remote was still missing and she replied "I'm sorry, there is nothing that we can do.." I was baffled by the reply because there was no good initiative on a service recovery which all hospitality staff should have in the hotel's SOP. I asked if the hotel provided fans and was told to come back at 10pm because the next staff, David, will be in. I'm more baffled that Ali was pushing my request to the next staff. I agreed and came down at 10.20pm to meet David. It was only then, Ali told David about my situation. Finally David had the initiative to look for a spare aircon remote, although nothing works after he came to our suite to try it out. By then, it was 10.45pm, I am all packed and requested to be given the room I have initially booked; 1 Queen + 2 Single beds room. David assisted with the request and we finally managed to sleep in an aircon room at 11.45pm. I hope the management could send Ali to more trainings which she might need as I have seen how she gave the eye roll to another guest who had expressed their requests. I would not have bothered about the bad service but I believe I deserve at least a room with aircon and its remote control, considering that I paid $393 for 1 night. I just needed a remote control to the room. That was all. As a Tassie local, I am flabbergasted at the service the staff of a hotel in my state was giving. It was my first time ever staying in a hotel in Tassie and my experience with Best Western Launceston was my "make or break" decision. It was definitely a "break" experience. I'll definitely return to staying in Discovery Parks and Big4, where I've had better and excellent services from the staff for many years.

Good central location. Room was comfortable with plenty of space. Service at dinner and breakfast was awful: the worst that we experienced during our trip to Tasmania. Dinner took an excessively long time to arrive. Over one hour! Avoid dinner in this hotel. Breakfast was a disaster mainly due to the waitress who did not believe that she was there to work. She appeared to consider guests as irrelevant and made her displeasure known if any guest dare make a request. Faulty Towers lives on at breakfast in the Best Western, Launceston. OK place to stay but avoid eating here.

Awful medieval bathroom in need of a complete facelift. Some staff inexperienced and slow. Reception bare and uninviting. Restaurant/bar spartan and basic. Wall art appalling. Bed was comfortable. Lack of basic cooking facilities in room: no toaster, no microve, not even cutlery.

Central, well-priced, easy-to-find location with open-air car parking (small fee applies) - car spaces can be hard to find during office hours. Reception is generally busy and often seems short-staffed. Check-in system seems to be cumbersome if the processing time is any indication. Phone wait time is often long if you're calling. Elevators are fast; rooms are average but furnishings adequate. Mattresses need upgrading; rooms are clean and otherwise comfortable with usual amenities. One problem is the room door-closing mechanism - it results in doors slamming loudly which can be irritating late at night/early morning if you're trying to sleep. Reasonable standards for the cost.

We stayed two nights and the location was ideal to the centre of town and accessing major tourist sites. The staff at the hotel was its best quality. The hotel itself is a little dated and the bathrooms need a facelift. Perhaps one thing that the hotel might consider is providing laundry facilities for guests only. We found the our clothes did not dry as the dyer was being used by staff to dry linen. We did provide this feedback to the concierge upon checkout.

The Good- convenient location, comfortable bed and spacious room. The Bad- Indifferent reception staff who gave bad advice, service in the restaurant was a mess and the food was average and expensive. The room was noisy with constantly banging doors in the corridor and lucky to find a car park.

We spent a week at this hotel. The location is excellent as it is very close to the mall and associated shops/businesses'. Many attractions are within walking distance - Cataract Gorge, Kings Park, Penny Royal, Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery. However, it was very noisy. Street noise came in quite often. But the worst noise was from the corridors. Doors constantly slamming, rude, selfish people yelling and talking loudly in the hall, children allowed/encouraged to run and up down. Soundproofing would go a long way to improving stays (as would better behaved guests, but that is beyond the scope of any hotel). We ate in the restaurant a few times and the food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the service very quick and pleasant. Food options in Launceston CBD are quite limited as many restaurants only open for a few hours a day, so the hotel restaurant is a good alternative between 5-7pm. Outdoor car parking is available for $6/night, but it can be a bit hit and miss in finding a space.

Although we are encouraged to book on-line and to use auto check-out, the best part of staying at Best Western, Launceston, is actually conversing with their excellent staff. Our room (4th floor) was great value for money with a huge, comfortable, bed and full bath. Parking on site was convenient but once there, this hotel is simply the most central of any in Launceston - adjacent to the theatre, and a stones-throw from the mall. Having discovered two days after our one night stay we had left some property behind, the brilliant Best Western staff recovered it for us and made it just so easy to collect. Well done and much appreciated.

We enjoyed our short, one night, stay here. Booked direct and right from the initial contact with reception to book it was really easy. A very convenient location, we were able to walk to local eateries and bars. On site parking was great value too. Room was spacious and clean. We've stayed in plenty of places that charge way more and deliver a lot less. Would detonate stay again.

We had a very enjoyable stay , staff were friendly and the room was clean. Parking was conveniently located and we were able to access the back entrance to the hotel from the back carpark . There was even a pillow service where you could ask for different type of pillow if needed .

Look we got a really cheap deal - so you get what you pay for. This is budget accommodation. Positives first - It is in a good position in town to walk from. It was cheap. It has reasonable priced parking. Negatives - It is very tired and the rooms need a reverb. Our room had no ventilation in toilet / shower (broken), old heat pump and single glazed windows that weren't sound proof (thanks early morning street cleaner) - just disappointing.

Hotel is nice and close to everything but the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. Not good if you enjoy your sleep. We had a party going on above us and reception took a couple of times to sort it out.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Best Western - Reception was good, the room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Not noisy; room was clean and the linen & towels very well laundered & clean. Our booking included breakfast downstairs and we loved the great choice of hot cooked breakfast or cereals, toast, fresh fruit etc. The location was really handy - once the parking was organised we had no problems however on a Saturday night it was full to capacity and so we didn't want to move the car out & have nowhere to park.. Just be aware the carpark is not a big one. Would definitely stay there again as it was good value for money & is close to most attractions - many within walking distance.

I will not be staying here again!!! The walls were paper thin so you could here everything from the rooms next to you and above you. The reception staff were rude, unhelpful and lacked local knowledge about places to eat. My TV had to be turned on and off at the powerpoint everytime we wanted to change channels. the bathroom door latch was broken so the door could not be properly closed. Room Service and Restaurant info stated that they served meals until 8.30 however when trying to order we were advised the kitchen closed prior to 8pm. We paid for 3 nights parking with the hotel however on the second night there werent any parks available, which was both frustrating and inconvenient. We were told we could get a refund but was then refused a refund because my parking voucher was left in the car. Redeeming qualities - close to the city and surrounds and rooms reasonable clean

We stayed here and the room was nice and comfy as well as clean. There were toiletries in the bathroom that were nice and coffee / tea and a large tv on the wall with Netflix. We booked the breakfast and they said it would be $5 each but it turned out to be $12. There was also a full buffet for $35 each but we couldn't afford that with children. I had a stale croissant and a stale pastry with a small cup of hot choc. All up it was positive but I'd recommend to save up for the buffet and not family friendly in that regard.

Felt a little unwelcome and rushed when arrived. Things were not explained clearly and I felt like I was disturbing the lady at the counter. Got to room and key wasn't set up properly so had to go down again, also had to prove that I had already paid for breakfast, I had to show printout from booking. A more senior staff member sorted all out. On the end a nice clean place to stay. Close to city centre.

We stayed 2 nights in a comfortable room. Staff at reception and the restaurant were courteous and helpful; a special shout-out to Sam, always full of good cheer and smiles. The hotel is well located in the heart of the CBD, but walking distance to the Tamar River and other scenic points. Breakfast at an extra cost was good value for money, but bar prices for drinks and bar bites were too high. The laundry room was convenient with the equipment working well.

Our room was clean spacious and bed was very comfortable. Location was good for where we wanted to go. Wifi was a let down super slow and kept dropping out, just hot spotted my phone in the end. Very quiet when we were there and staff at check in and out very friendly.

Currently a guest here - it's awful. No wifi, can't use safe and the gym below the room booms out disco music at 6.30am. Requesting a room change but at Amy reception is refusing to call Dave as ‘she is dealing with so many complaints'. This hotel has real issues. I chose this hotel because of its location and on this I was not disappointed. The hotel is well located, close to the city centre. The rooms are a good size and the bedding is all clean and comfortable. But I was disappointed with the cleanliness.

We stayed there for 4 nights! The staff were very friendly and helpful when we arrived. The rooms were very clean and tidy. We had a room for 3 girls which was handy. We used the restaurant and the food was very good and reasonably priced. But the best quality is the location! You can walk to almost anywhere you want! B

Is a good hotel in a great location. However, there is no sound-proofing between rooms and you can hear EVERYTHING. The doors shut very noisily and you can hear people walking about in their rooms constantly. Also, it's very annoying when you pay for parking, but can't find a parking spot

Launceston is a wonderful, safe place to visit and Best Western is in a fabulous location to walk everywhere. The staff are most obliging and the food was good. They were very happy to suggest alternatives to eat out when the cafe was closed.

Rarely compelled to write a review but...... from 6am this morning I was wide awake listening to the echoing bang booming down the corridor as guests one by one vacated their rooms. Soft close doors please Best Western.

Checked in 2:40, planned check in at 2:00. Room not ready. Parking not included - costs $6 extra per night Bed was comfortable Rooms are small and dated (Superior Twin) Walls are very thin! All noise from surrounding rooms, doors opening/closing, hallway chatter is abnormally loud! I stay in many hotels for my job and this was next level. The last morning some guests checked out early and it sounded like a circus leaving down the hallway. There is no sound dampening! Overall an average stay. I probably will not stay again due to the noise. However, if you are looking for a bed and centrally located accommodation this is a 3/5 option.

This hotel is in a great central location, it has excellent facilities and the service from all the staff was excellent. The parking is good although it can get congested and the large size means that it often has availability.

Myself, my husband and 8yr old son travelling Tasmania from Sydney. The hotel was comfy enough although some amenities and staff seem outdated, it's centrally located and clean with parking onsite which is definitely a bonus for me. All in all it's good for a quick overnight if your not fussy.

Due to storms in Launceston and Melbourne, Qantas offered us the opportunity to stay an extra night in Launceston and booked us into this hotel. Centrally located and with good amenities, we had everything we needed. The room was comfortable and we enjoyed a good night's sleep. We opted to dine in and the restaurant was very good and not overcrowded. Overall, a very pleasant experience and the staff were very helpful.

Our family of 4 enjoyed a great night at the hotel, it was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. Buffet breakfast was delicious and all the staff we met went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

A good location close to City Park and Brisbane Street. Unfortunately we were there on a public holiday so a lot of places were closed and this hotel doesn't normally open it's dining room Mondays and Tuesdays but being part of a tour group they agreed to open for us. The rooms were comfortable and the staff very helpful. The room card was wiped twice as it was close to my mobile phone but they happily restored access. The food for dinner and breakfast was average but enough to get by on.

Perfectly placed to walk to restaurants for dinner, CBD shops and theatre at the front door. Easy walk to waterfront. Comfortable and clean beds. Bathroom a bit dated, but hot showers with great pressure, lovely toiletries provided, good towels. Easy parking. Quiet rooms. Good value.

This hotel is the best we had to be in Launceston for our mum as she was in hospital and the staff were amazing, they couldn't do anymore then they did. The rooms were clean and comfortable and they accommodated us each day on short notice as we just took it day by day exceptional hotel and staff

We set out from Richmond to go to Launceston for a bucket list anniversary treat. We arrived at the hotel early as it had been raining all the way therefore dashing our hopes of lots of sightseeing along the way. Reception staff were so lovely and allowed us to go to the room straight away. Not only that - we had an upgrade! They seemed to be genuinely interested in US and cared about what we were going to do. Our balloon flight was cancelled but because of the wonderful stay we had at Best Western we deemed the road trip a success and left happy.

The room is spacious with a fabulously big bed. I appreciate the fluffy towels and nice hotel sheets. The issue is that I can hear every word of the many phone conversations the lady next door is having. When she watches TV, it's like I'm in the same room. I'm just glad it's not a couple next door… The hotel is in a great location, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Excellent hotel offering service above and beyond other hotels. The receptionists helped us out so much for additional requests and support well outside their standard care. The absolute best hotel in Launceston. Perfect location almost in town centre, close to lots of restaurants and attractions. Breakfast was excellent and well worth adding to your room. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Lovely staff, nice beds and clean bathrooms. Access to laundry facilities and a novelty restaurant with a tram cart and bar. Their is a bar fridge in the room but no microwave to hear anything. Breakfast options looked amazing though we didn't make it

We had a fantastic stay at the Best Western, the staff were amazing, and for being right in the city we were so close to all the shops but it was still nice and quiet to sleep. Great and easy parking. we well recommend staying here :)

I recently stayed here while my husband was in hospital. My reservations were numerous and often altered at short notice. This was no problem for the friendly and accommodating staff. In particular, Jackie was exceptional and understanding of my circumstances. Nothing was too much trouble. I ate at the restaurant which was disappointing, but maybe I just chose the wrong food. The room was spotlessly clean and the location is perfect if attending an event at the Princess theatre

Stayed here for multiple short stays for hospital visit. Had to cancel and rebook several times due to changes made by the hospital and it was never a issue. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Unexpectedly on our most recent stay, we were given an upgrade to a 2 bedroom unit which was much appreciated. Extra special mention to Jaquie on reception. She went over and above on several occasions to make sure we had everything we needed. She was exceptional. We had a meal at the in-house restaurant which was disappointing. Fortunately, the hotel is within easy walking of several very good eating places. Highly recommend staying here.

This place is in need of a good clean and update, bathroom in particular. It served a purpose - we needed a bed for the night on our way up north but the place is not welcoming or enticing at all. The food prices put me off even stepping foot inside the bistro. Overall, a underwhelming experience and not recommended unless there's no other options

Can't get a better location if going to the Princess Theatre - one minute walk rather than a long drive on rural roads at night and risk of contributing to roadkill. Have stayed here after the theatre and when attending conferences many times - very comfortable rooms with everything you need, 5 minute walk to town centre and 10 minute walk to Woolworths. But please turn off the lights over the fish tank in the lobby at night - artificial light at night is not natural.

The bathroom is without heating. Already cold enough in winter coupled with wind blowing through the mesh which was meant for ventilation, made it even colder. We gave up bathing and imaged having to put on extra layer every time going to the loo. There's heating in the room but wind still slipped through the bottom of the main door. Lucky we only booked for 1 night. Couldn't afford any more. Terrible!. One positive comment is comfy beds. t

Stayed here one night for work in April 2021. This hotel is ok without being anything spectacular. The rooms were comfortable with very basic facilities and a small bathroom. The view was of a car park at the rear of the property. The location is good in the middle of the small city of Launceston within walking distance of pubs, shops and more.

Well where to start. I guess you could start with arriving at the hotel, the car park is completely full so good luck getting a car park. You are also greeted by 10-15 drunk bogans screaming and carrying on whilst drinking in public. There is only one laddie at reception so have fun waiting 20 mins for your turn. To go to the elevators you get to walk through more drunks and the lovely smell of cigarettes and weed. One you have arrived at your destinaties floor you have the lovely aroma of deep fryer smell.

We had a great 2 night stay, from the smooth & efficient check in to the great customer service when I requested an extra towel - brought to our door. Our room on level 6 (605) was super clean, modern and spacious. Super comfortable bed, two pillow choices per person. Quiet aircon kept the room warm all night. We were delighted to come back to a warm room after room service had been, fresh towels were left even though we chose to use our towels again. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again. We also had a nice view. Thank you!

The Best Western Launceston represents excellent location and value for money. The hotel is very well serviced and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Parking can sometimes be difficult to find at the hotel or surrounding areas.

The hotel is Centrally located for a visit to Launceston. Very easy to walk to most places from the hotel. Great restaurants and cafes nearby as well as shops and parks. Parking is easy and a cheap daily rate ($6). The room was clean and well presented, with a small Nespresso machine and coffee pods provided. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Hotel is in a very good location amongst shops and restaurants. The only negative is the parking, which can fill up as it is a commercial carpark. Also an extra chair in the room would be great. I would book this hotel again.

An older hotel, but very comfortable and clean. There is that age-old issue of lack of power outlets for the customer ((not already used by the side-lamps etc), but the staff were very helpful in resolving this. I cannot fault the customer service of the staff, including the cleaning staff, but especially the manager on this day. Nothing was too much to ask, or too hard for him to handle. He is well suited to his role.

Perfectly situated in the CBD; close to shops, banks and other businesses. Even though in the CBD, there were no traffic noise distractions. There was a 24 hour Gym next door which also could have been visited if we had had time.

I always have a pleasant stay at Best Western Plus in Launceston, the meals are always good, the staff , service is excellent. ps I usually stay when I am working in and around the Launceston area. Hotel is well located/

The hotel staff and the cleanliness was excellent. The staff were very helpful. I had a problem with the tv but the man at reception came straight up as soon as I reported it. The room was very clean, but I would have liked fresh milk for the tea and coffee.

From when I arrived wearing a moon boot on my broken foot and received extra care from the check-in staff (who offered to take my parking voucher outside and place it in my car so I didn't have to walk too far and carry my bag to my room) right through to the fabulous meal I had sitting at a table inside a train carriage inside a restaurant inside the hotel, I was delighted with this property. I had originally booked something closer to the airport as I was flying early the next morning but cancelled at the last minute when I realise there were no food options available and did not want to be wondering around on my broken foot or on my own at night looking for food. I chose this property based on it having a restaurant that was open and also location being only 15 minutes from the airport and rather than it just being an overnight stay on my way home it turned into one of the highlights of my 2 weeks holiday in Tasmania. I slept well apart from the noisy neighbours with the TV too loud like the bed was comfortable and the room clean & fresh.

Not great, a little old and run down but good for an overnight. No satellite tv. There is wifi. Basic ammenities and the shower is in the bath tub. Nice big bed. Included breakfast which was average. COVID so no more buffets.

I stayed two nights in an executive room. I was warmly greeted by reception and quickly in my room. I had an executive room on the sixth floor with a lovely view towards the valley. The room was well equipped, with a huge flat screen tv, coffee machine, charging pads on the bedside lamps and a comfortable king size bed. Some of the furniture had a few pieces of veneer missing and there was a dent in the wall, but otherwise the room was well maintained. The room was spacious with a chez lounge and desk chair. The chez lounge base was comfortable, but the backrest was disappointingly rock hard. The room was clean, but the clock radio and phone needed a good dust (room 616) and also the time and date settings were wrong (something I really hate). The bathroom was a bit dated and could do with an upgrade, but the shower pressure was good. I dined in the Tramway Bar on the first night and although the food was good, it could be better and I found the two meals from there ( one via room service) were swimming in liquid- like the vegetables hadn't been properly drained. However, the panacotta, big breakfast and Belgium Waffles were delicious. It was fun sitting in the old tram for dinner, although not terribly comfortable. The location is fantastic, near the shops on Brisbane Street Mall, City Park and a lovely walk to Invermay and Cataract Gorge. Best Western Plus isn't perfect, but the misses were small, I really enjoyed my stay and have no hesitation in recommending it.

The Hotel rooms were lovely and clean and very nice. The dining room breakfast was a complete disaster. There were a group of us staying there two nights and the first breakfast included a wait time of 45 minutes to get a continental breakfast which did not even need to be cooked. One other person ordered scrambled eggs and got it served with bacon underneath the eggs on the toast and was told to "just take it off"! Majority of our orders were delivered incorrect and even the coffee orders were wrong. Vivien who was our waitress was so rude and should not be in customer service full stop! Everything was too much trouble and the look on her face said it all. The second morning was slightly better. Sam our waitress apologised for the delays and was very polite. Vivien was in the background not enthusiastic at all. This hotel needs to lift its game on serving breakfasts and getting the orders out in a reasonable time and correct to the order. They clearly could not handle being busy and there is no excuse for this. Another couple who were dining there got up and walked out due to no service. Stay there but don't pay extra for dining in at breakfast.

Staff were so accommodating, room was clean, and location was very central and easy to go out without transportation. We were a little concerned at the start as there was a delay at the airport due to COVID screening, and we had received an email earlier advising that check-in closes at 8.00pm and we'd need to call a number, but when we got there the front reception is actually open 24/7 over the weekend, and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating. We also had to check out super early on our final day (to catch a tour), so the staff made sure that our breakfast arrived right on 6.30am (the earliest it could come), check out was fast and then they held our luggage till we returned from our 9hour day tour. We were very happy with their service, and our room. I only took 1 star off because my husband would've liked more variety with the breakfast that came with our package, and should include both coffee & juice. Not just one or the other.

Arrived in to the hotel just on 8:30pm after catching a dodgy and expensive taxi from the airport. Service was a little average from reception when we asked about dinner service which also ended at 8:30pm. All he could do was suggest one of us go upstairs and see if we could still get a meal. Yet we had 2 children and a heap of luggage in tow. When asked what was around he states uber eats. Got to the room, tried to call for room service and phone was broken. Ended up ordering pizza from Dominos. There was a lovely view of the carpark which also was very noisy due to some concert going on close by. The end bed in the room was broken, if you sat on the end of the bed the front lifted up (I guess a leg was missing). The room was ok, not very spacious for a family room and only one baggage rack. I probably would not stay here again.

Really well placed in the heart of Launceston, modern facilities, helpful staff and nice spacious rooms. The room has all the modern amenities that you need and very comfortable for an overnight stay or extended stay. Close by to everything that you need in Launceston

My family stayed at the Best Western Plus Launceston early March 2021. After concerns due to COVID and having to postpone the trip once, our stay was beyond our expectations. Staff were helpful, courteous, amazing. After being locked up due to COVID this was just heaven. This establishment is also centrally located to everything which was great.

I was in need of a hotel that was close to the mall etc. On arrival , being greeted with friendly efficient staff made the process pleasant and welcoming. I'd booked a king bed room,in which I had considered booking through a travel app but decided to call directly and was offered a discount rate. Thank you.i was pleased with my room. It was clean and very comfortable. I was offered my choice of shower over bath or just a shower. Although bathroom was small but it was well equipped. The main area had a sitting area two chairs and a small table. Even had a seperate desk if needed. Decent sized digital tv with netflix. Tea and coffee making facilities and a bar fridge. Room service was available also mini bar but had to ring room service for it. The only disappointment I had was I was told it was a buffet breakfast in which I confined because of COVID and all the restrictions, to find on arrival to breakfast the following morning sorry we can't do it because of COVID. Told them to find a seat, not taken to a vacant table. Ordered our breakfast to find it wasn't all there but the waitress fixed it quickly and apologised. As I paid $20 each as it was a breakfast catch up with my daughter I feel we didn't get value for money, further to it the bacon wasn't cooked well. Very dissapounted. I don't thunk I'd return to that restaurant. The accomodation was great!

We had 1 night at the hotel and found it to be more than adequate. We were able to walk to food and beverage outlets and Cataract Gorge. Overnight parking was reasonably priced. Would recommend it for an overnight stay.

What a great place to stay. Staff are so nice, rooms clean and tidy. Linen was good with lovely towels. Best of all the dinners from the tramcar restaurant amazing. Food was fresh and yummy best in town will be back

This old Best Western plus had a very good location in the centre of town but it is getting tired and badly needs a refurbishment. The room fit-out was old-fashioned, the carpets stained and the bathroom dated. The staff were courteous and the stay comfortable, the rates acceptable and there was parking (for a small fee).Do not expect glamour or style but for modest accommodation at reasonable prices for an overnight stay it was okay.

This establishment is excellent value for money and i was stupid to stay anywhere else especially as the price included a full continental breakfast that would have cost more than half the price of accomodation alone.My family stayed in several spots in tassie and in places that i remember from 20 years ago i just wished we had of stayed here first rather than being the last place before heading to the airport.It is in a stones throw from everything in launceston and very neat and clean .I very rarely write reviews but this hotel is worthy of my time.

We have finally been released from lockdown so decided to head North for a long weekend in our own state. This hotel had some great rates on booking.com so we booked an Executive Room for $86. We have previously stayed here when it was the Great Northern hotel (a long time ago) and more recently when it was Mercure. The location is great in the centre of Launceston near restaurants. The arrival started well with a friendly welcome and we went up the room. The key would not work and there was a funny noise in the corridor (seemed to be coming from a security camera?) - we went downstairs and got the key reset. The room itself was OK for the price - not quite sure what makes it an executive room. There is a coffee machine and that seems to be it! No bottles of water, no cookies? We had gone to sleep and were awoken by screaming and carry on from the room opposite. In the end the police arrived and banged on their door about 5 times. Our sleep was disturbed but we did not want any involvement in what was going on - it sounded scary. The next morning, there was still screaming and crying in the corridor and we did not want to leave our room. Under COVID rules, the hotel asked us to checkout with the express box only so we messaged them via booking.com and hoped they would offer an apology and an explanation. No-one from the hotel had contacted us in the morning to check if we were OK. If I ran a hotel, I would ask the guests in rooms next to a room where the police had been called, if they were OK... I got a reply basically putting it back onto me saying that we should have notified the hotel if we were unhappy - really? No way! I advised them that I was not happy with this but the manager then apologised and said they hoped we would come back for another stay. No thanks. We will never return and recommend others to avoid. The hotel was not caring towards us and there are many many better alternatives in Launceston - I know because I often travel here for work and have never had an issue at other better hotels in the area. As locals, we want to support our tourism industry, but don't take us for granted.

stayed here for two nights as part of a coach tour round tasmania. Little apprehensive as our previous experiences of tasmania hotels was not very good, room was adequate and restaurant food was good as was the buffet breakfast and the food was hot which had bsen an issue in previous hotels we stayed at in tasmania. Definitely good value only issue was the early closure of the bar.

I booked the highest category room they had. Checked in, promptly went up to my room. I entered the room- and don't even know where to start. It was tiny- it was supposed to be the largest room (the entire category is) and it was small. Not only that, the hotel is clearly so old, the floor sagged- from the carpet in the main part of the room, to the tiles in the bathroom, Then we get onto the colour scheme- 50 shades of beige- the colour scheme of the room was so ugly, dated and depressing. Even the bathroom was small, and for some strange reason- it was just a shower, but the it wasn't level with the floor- it was raised a step up from the floor. Now onto the customer service- credit where credit is due- the restaurant staff (with the exception of one)- super lovely and the food was ok. The reception however, I cannot say the same. As a customer, I am not a fan of being lied to. The day of my check out, I requested a late check out- my flight was early afternoon, and I asked if I could check out at around 1-2 (only a few hours after the 11am check out) and even offered to pay extra for a late check out. The receptionist told me that they were fully booked that night, and that wouldn't be possible. A quick check online revealed this to be untrue, and they had a decent number of rooms available in all room categories. There was no good reason the request couldn't be accommodated, and the receptionist handling it was unprofessional and rude. To add- I also called best western to follow this up and provide all this feedback, and they promised they would get back to me and never did- appalling, and I will never stay at a best western again,

Earlier this year we did a fly drive around Tasmania and one of the best places we stayed at was the Best Western Plus in Launceston. It had an old 1911 tram on first floor in the restant/bar where we had a great meal and good wine.

Well, we were meant to have the Spa room not only on arrival but when we got back after doing the Overland Track yesterday, but were disappointed when arrived at the hotel at 5pm to be told they were booked out and others were in our room. Thank goodness for your extremely competant frontline staff especially Tianna who really helped us out with some make goods. So first night in spa room, black straight hair found in quite a number of spots in the bathroom and the previous guests old chinese found in the fridge. Not happy Jan. Anyhow staff redeemed with 2 glasses of house wine, wow?? Then on our return, we were so looking forward to relaxing in the spa after walking 65ks to be told it had not been held as promised. We received a dowdy old room, with blinds that didn't quite block out sun. Thank goodness for Tiana looking after us. Not sure if we will ever stay again.

Location is very convenient to a lot of places including the Brisbane Street Mall. It is just off Brisbane street in a quiet one way street. My first impression was not a good one - the lobby area could do with a bit of TLC - a few chairs placed here and there in no particular order or style was not a good look or first impression. Comfort level on these single chairs was almost zero, so glad I didn't need to sit there for too long. Check in desk is located on the right hand side, hardly noticeable if you haven't been there before. However staff were very helpful and seemed to be happy in their roles . Check in was quick. Room was terrific and very clean. Bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever had in a hotel anywhere in the world. One negative was that you could hear loud talking in the hallway when other guests were going back to their rooms, and it was particularly noticeable late at night. It was almost like they were in the room with you. Breakfast buffet was fantastic - everything you could want and everything was hot unlike some of the bigger hotels where items are almost cold. Despite the negatives mentioned above, I would certainly stay here again should I ever have the opportunity to visit Launceston in the future.

Whilst the food and service in the Tram Bar restaurant was lovely I was surprised at the noisy room. I could hear conversations, toilet noises and footsteps from neighbouring rooms... maybe the walls and or ceilings were thin. Or they were just noisy people. As a plus the bed was comfortable but the bathroom was dated and the tiles mouldy.

Very convenient and comfortable hotel. Located on a quiet side street in downtown Launceston. Spacious enough rooms. Clean with comfortable beds. Staff friendly and helpful. On site parking at a reasonable cost.

Fantastic staff and great location. The hotel staff were much better than at some more up market places. The breakfast buffet had excellent choices and plenty of food. Sorry we didn't try in house restaurant - the menu looked great. Maybe next time.

Excellent stay, friendly helpful staff. Just lots of black hair in bathroom but apart from that everything else was good we also had the buffet breakfast which was delicious, recommend getting in early but as peak hour can be very squishy with lots of people in dining room

Stayed one night at this hotel. Happy with the location as was in the city centre. Outdoor parking at the rear of the hotel was $6 a night so very reasonable. We chose the rate with breakfast included, but don't think it was worth the price paid, however it was convenient to have breakfast at the hotel rather than looking for other options in the city. Bed was very comfortable and would stay here again without choosing the breakfast option. Found a great chinese restaurant about 5 min walk away which was absolutely the best chinese I've tasted for a while. Check out 'Wangs Chinese' if your looking for a great dining option close by

From arriving to leaving a very good overall experience. The only queries we had were the raised shower base and the warm breakfast [wasn't hot] and very little choice. The wait staff need to be more attentive clearing tables as we were a group of four[4] people there were still used plates etc left on tables so we had to ask staff to sort.

We stayed here the weekend of Festivale. The hotel itself was in a great position, our room was lovely with a great comfy bed, and everything was very clean and well maintained. On check in, the lovely young lady was very welcoming and friendly. Once in our room, we were quite surprised to find another couple letting themselves into our room. It seemed our room had been allocated twice. We spoke to the young lady at reception who was extremely apologetic and offered us free breakfast as compensation for the mix up. When we came back late at night, our room passes no longer worked. It would seem that it was due to the earlier mix up, however when taken back to reception, the extremely unfriendly man there almost berated us for putting our passes in a wallet with credit cards. My husband felt very embarrassed and uncomfortable. The next morning while checking out, the staff member was so sullen and bored, it left us with the feeling of being unwelcome and not valued at all. I don't think we would return in a hurry. Too many mistakes and bad experiences. A shame because it's a nice hotel.

On a tour and really valued friendly Staff and comfortable clean spacious bedroom. Ideal location to visit the Beaconsfield Gold Mine and to join the Cataract Gorge Cruise. Really good Wi-fi day and night. First floor attractive Bar had menu choices of evening meals to provide a relaxed social evening. Well looked after by Waiter Matthew who was polite, considerate and ensured we were provided with choices.

I have commend Best Western Launceston for the amazing stay and service provided. Myself and my partner were unbelievable happy with the room, the quick check in and the wonderful meals in the Tram bar. I would especially like to shout out to our waiter over the past couple of days who took care of us. Mathew was friendly, very professional and wonderfully charming to deal with. His love and passion for what he does really shows. A big thank you to Mathew for all your lovely service. I could not recommend this hotel any higher. Mary

Pre-booked through Adoga. Under unforeseen circumstances, out of our control we couldn't make our booking & needed to change to date by one day. As it was an non refundable booking they would not do anything for us. No understand no credit they just said you forfeit your booking & made us pay again. There was availability so it wasn't like they were booked out. Would never stay here again or any best western if this is their business model. I would understand if it was just an error on our part but in explain our situation they just said no I would like to say Agoda 5 stars very sympathetic & helped also writing to Best Western on behalf of me to get a credit or refund. Avoid staying here they don't care about customer service just their bottom line.

Check in staff were friendly, bed was very comfortable, hotel very close to Festivale in City Park, Tram bar is great & staff there are fun & friendly, clean & comfortable overall, brekkie was good too

if you are looking for very short term stay, like one or two days, probably okay. Definitely not longer than that. My room has smell, can't open the window, aircon is not powerful and wifi internet is intermittent.

The front desk and general staff very polite, approachable and helpful. Clean rooms. Great central location. Biggest issue was the very dated bathroom. It was clean but i felt i had stepped through a vortex and arrived in the mid 80's

Friendly staff and great location are the only positive things i can say about this hotel. We stayed in a family room which i found to be too small for 4 adults. The bathroom needs some serious updating. I wasn't impressed with the cobwebs gathered in in the bathroom neither the amount of dust on the bed head.

My sister and I booked the holiday through Holidays Australia and they upgraded us to Best Western and we are glad they did. Staff very helpful beds made well room clean and gave us maps rang cabs and room service was prompt. The only thing was the yellow chairs in the dining room need recovering.

So happy when we arrived at the hotel to find it was in a great location . The hotel is situated at the top end of Brisbane street the Main Street so you could just walk and you were in the city centre. The staff were ever so friendly and helpful and I would recommend this hotel to all visitors to Launceston. We did not eat in the hotel but enjoyed their happy hour the two nights we were there.

Very quick overnight stay. Friendly reception, rooms seem to have been updated nicely. Pleasant meal in Tram restaurant on the Thursday and compliments to the young bar man, very friendly and appeared to care. Also superb fresh breaky on the Friday with perfectly cooked poached eggs and a great spread. Also thanks to the lovely mature server. This is my go to place when in town.

Checked in on the 1st Jan and to our surprise huge two room stay which was fantastic. Stayed several times in 2019 and again not disappointed Would I recommend You bet the placement is fantastic. Plenty of great places to eat and drink in easy walk

The room was very clean. The breakfast was excellent. It was like staying at Nanna's - but a very clean and tidy Nanna's. Shower curtain experience sums up the bathroom decor. Good value for money and helpful, friendly staff. You get exactly what you pay for really.

The hotel is directly in the downtown from Launceston . Many restaurants and shops are in walking distance. The rooms are clean and you have enough space . Minibar , Nespresso machine and tea facilities are provided. Very friendly stuff. Possibilities for breakfast and dinner .

Clean hotel, Good reception staff, Decent sized rooms, parking available. BUT.......one staff at the breakfast area was so RACIST ( yes, this is 2020 coming but racism for some is still a part of life) that i rate this hotel 1 star for Recruiting such people, not keeping an eye on such people and promoting such people to be racist and rude. Rude to even her own manager in front of the customers. How can a Service industry survive with this. I pity that employee who has chosen the job not for passion but for money and failed in every point. I am not happy with the HR and management of such hotels who turn blind eye.

I'm not a business traveller so I don't stay here on a very regular basis but when holidaying the Best Western on Earl Street is always my preferred choice. Great spacious rooms with all the facilities you need, plus on site restaurant and the separate Tram Bar/ lounge bar that also serves snacks and meals and features an old Launceston tram inside it that you can sit in whilst enjoying a drink. Excellent location for the shops and dining, Boags brewery centre not too far away. If the weathers good and you don't want to get a taxi and don't mind a longer walk the hotel is not too far from UTAS/Aurora stadium for the AFL. Parking is in a public carpark to the rear of the hotel, Earl Street is a one way street so both the hotel entrance and the car park will be on your left on approach. For the first timer it may be a little daunting because you may be expecting some hotel allocated spaces but there aren't, plus the car park is on a bit of a slope in parts, so just pick any vacant spot. Parking can be paid for at reception you don't need to use the payment kiosk and they give you a pass to put on your dashboard, it's about $6 per night I think. Received great service from reception staff during this stay, we arrived at least two hours prior to check in and although we didn't expect our room to be ready we saw staff to see if maybe we could sort out our parking and then kill some time shopping. Service was great got our parking pass but lady on the desk that day called housekeeping, found that our rom was ready to go and we got to do an early check in as well. Really appreciated the effort. Would highly recommend.

I have the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Plus in Launceston about 8 times a year and it never fails to impress as the Service and Ammenities are second to none. The Staff are also very Welcoming and nothing is ever a problem...... Thank You and Keep up the Great Standard you have set....

The Best Western Plus is a reasonably large hotel, by Launceston's standards, and I booked online. My check in was fast and efficient, and I found the reception staff friendly. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and you can add overnight parking to your booking, allowing you to book beside the hotel. Outdoor parking is not under cover. The rooms are very comfortable, the bed excellent, and they have thick curtains to allow you to sleep soundly. The bathroom toiletries are cheap, so don't rely on them. The mini bar was well stocked, and there are lots of great restaurants close by, especially the Pickled Evenings, Indian Restaurant. Check out was easy and fast.

Clean, quiet and close to lots of choices for bars and restaurants; has its own restaurant with happy friendly staff. Small but functional bath room but the rest of the room is a good size and quiet of a night with good dark curtains. For the busy traveler; reception is 24 hour with efficient friendly staff. parking is well set out and yes you do have to pay.

This Best Western Plus property is very nice. Located in the middle of the city. Walking distance to parks, bars, restaurants and other attractions. The room was nice and comfortable. My only negative is that the shower tub needs to be updated. Other then that I have a great time. The breakfast buffet was also hot and tasty.

We stayed three nights over a long weekend. Lovely room, warm, quite, clean with great views. Good size room with enormous bed. Great location in town. Restaurant in hotel had a tram. Cosy with lovely food including vegetarian.

The room I stayed in very spacious and consisted of a king bed, table, mini fridge, ironing board and safe. The bathroom was a little bit tight on space, especially the bathtub. They had a bar installed on the wall, which is a great idea, but it also took up a bit of space, so the bathtub felt extra tight. On the day I was to check out, I asked the front desk about a bus to the airport and was told that they could help me reserve a shuttle for $15, paid directly to the shuttle company. I knew that the public bus was located about 10 minutes away and would cost $6.80, so I was willing to pay the bit of extra cash to avoid having to lug my suitcase across town to the bus station. I arrived back at the hotel 45 minutes before the shuttle was to pick me up, and patiently waited until about 20 minutes past the agreed upon pick up time. I asked the front desk to call the shuttle company again and they advised that the shuttle company thought I'd already been picked up, but were going to send someone right away. After a few minutes, one of the front desk girls came running up to me in a bit of a panic and said that there has been a massive mix up with the shuttle company and they are no longer coming so she's called a taxi for me now. She was very apologetic and I appreciate her gesture to call a cab, but I kind of wished that she had asked me first, as the cab now ended up costing me $34, which isn't a cost that I had expected to pay. I realize that at that point in time, it likely was my only choice, and I can't blame the hotel for the shuttle not showing up, but I think it would have made sense to check with me first, before assuming I could afford the cost. They mentioned that it was the fault of the shuttle company, but since all of the arrangements were made by them, it would have been appreciated if they took a bit more responsibility of the situation. Regardless of how great the stay was, this left a bit of a sour taste.

If you're in Launceston, there isn't a quieter mid-city hotel. The staff are all superb and the food is excellent. If you're travelling for pleasure or work and want to be within easy walking distance of everything - this is the best place to stay.

I only stayed one night. Conveniently situated in the centre of Launceston it is ideally situated. The welcome was great and the hotel had all the facilities that a transient or business traveller could require. Clean smart accommodation with proximity charging for phones in rooms. Good bar and restaurant.

We stayed in the Best Western Hotel for two nights last week and were very impressed by the service,accommodation and meals that were on offer. The staff especially Katie on the front desk for the time we were there was a lovely young lady,happy,chatty,friendly and helpful. She treated you as if you were an old friend which made you feel welcome. We had dinner in the Tramcar bar and the food was spot on and the service was great, The bed was fabulous,comfortable,clean. The only drawback in our room was the bathroom-it was a little odd as the systern was boxed in and that took up a bit of room and the bath/shower had a dip in it,almost like a channel.We didn't feel safe whilst having a shower as you had to make sure you were stable even though there was a hand rail there. It wouldn't have taken much to have a fall or lose your balance. The room attendant that cleaned our room was friendly and most accommodating to any need. It is a hotel that we would recommmend to family and friends if they are going to travel to Launceston.

Best Western Plus had a nice, large room, on a higher floor, with a great view. Service was excellent at check-in and check-out. The restaurant had good options for dinner. Wifi was very good and there was adequate parking at the property. However, the service during breakfast needs a bit of tweak. There was no one at the entrance of the breakfast room to check us in and we had to wait for a long time. There was shortage of knives and we had to ask for it. We had to call the staff to let her know that coffee beans in the coffee machine had finished and it was not working!

Just an overnight stay in Launceston for an enjoyable weekend. I have stayed here on business many times in the past and it was just as friendly, clean, comfortable and enjoyable as always. Although we didn't use the restaurant etc this time as we had other plans, I have no doubt it would have been just as good as before. Very convenient location.

We had a good experience here, but the only problem is the CAR PARK, it's always full and quite small. Apart from that, we really enjoyed the 3 nights here, excellent service and very good location with a reasonable price. Highly recom!

This is in the centre of the city of Launceston. Short walk to great restaurants (Black Cow, The Metz, Novaro's), retail shops and Museums. Rooms are very spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. This Hotel also has it's own Bar and a Restaurant, both of which provide good quality meals at very reasonable $s. I love it's location the best. However it does need to lift it's game and provide Real Coffee at the Breakfast room.

The location was central and sensational . Great if you have kids and want to go for a walk. Rooms clean and tidy. The staff were lovely. Easy parking but get in early. Breakfast was okay. Good value!

Friendly staff during check in, room spotless, beds very comfy. The hotel feels as though it has gone through a recent revamp as it's very stylish & modern in the rooms. We were a little disappointed, during my booking online I requested could we book in for a meal and was informed that could be done at check in. However at check in was told they couldn't fit us unless we wanted to eat early at 5 to 530pm ( sorry but that's way too early for us to eat) Had this been organized at the time of booking we could of chose a suitable time to eat, instead had take away pizza in our room at 10pm after our event we were attending had finished.

If you're looking for some good old-fashioned Launceston hospitality, Best Western has it. We were checked in by Heather who was friendly, courteous and had a great sense of humour. Our upgrade was a most welcome surprise, rooms were clean and dressing gowns on the bed waiting for us on arrival. Another shout out to Lucy on checkout, who was equally as friendly. Both staff members are a credit to Best Western Launceston, and we look forward to our return trip in the future. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Been vidditing Launceston regularly and Best Western so convenient to all entertain food and great drink spots. Netflix available if raining and you cannot get out. Staff not just helpful but very friendly

Comfy rooms, maybe a bit dated but certainly clean and functional... Meals were great, house red was surprisingly nice... Breakfast was really good.... Staff were friendly, helpful and very personable... There can be a problem with parking, but staff go out of their way (even giving up their own parks) to accomodate...

Clean and nice rooms. Friendly staff. Excellent Chef. Was a pricey weekend but the overall experience was great. My daughter's especially liked the spa in the room. The Pork Sirloin is to die for. Thanks heaps!

The stay was fine. Room is very clean and comfortable. Supermarkets like Coles and Woolworths are short walk away. It us also not very far from The Cataract Gorge, we manage to walk to the Gorge with the map provided by the hotel staff. There are also nice restaurants and eateries nearby so getting food is no issue. The breakfast menu can be improved as we are eating the same food for 3 days. Food in Tram Bar was disappointing, ordered Indian Butter Chicken Curry, not a taste of curry, the sauce was overpowered by butter. Not much selection of James Boag's Beer on the tap. When requested, we were told there was just one type. Rated 4 for good location and cleanliness of hotel. Food served is not fantastic.

We had a great stay at the Best Western it was very convenient for our needs and close to Restaurants and Cafes in walking distance. Parking was great as we hired a car. Extra cost but that was OK. Reception very helpful and cheery. Beds were really comfortable and we sleep very well, which you don't always do in a hotel. Very happy would stay there again.

Thi hotel is in a good location but rooms are out dated and needs to be renovated the staff are friendly the breakfast was cold and needed to be checked more frequently the rooms could have been cleaned a bit more

I ended up staying at this hotel, when my original reservation to other place fell though. However, I was very happy with this hotel. The location was good and my tour company agreed to pick me up from this location. The room was nicely laid out and the bed was very comfortable. I was also able to borrow a power adapter for my cell phone as I couldn't find any place to buy one, from the front desk. The front desk service was excellent which helped greatly when I had to find a place to stay at the last minute. After walking around trying to find a less expensive place to eat dinner, I concluded that this hotel had the best options for food. The dinner and breakfast were both good.

My two children and I stayed at Best Western Plus Launceston for 3 days for a little break away and to watch the footy. We had a great time. Hotel location was perfect. We walked to the supermarket, pubs (for dinner) and was able to walk to the football as well. Parking was available at the back of the hotel for a $7 per day fee which was great as we decided to hire a car and tour around.

I recently stayed at the Best Western in Launceston.I wanted a quiet ,clean hotel not expensive but not cheap. lots to choose from done a little research picked the above hotel. so glad I did,location was spot on for walking to shops, cinema ,boags brewery etc from check in to check out the staff were friendly efficient and very helpful room was large, clean ,tea and coffee, mini bar .Could not fault it thank you

Hotel is nice - basic as expected. Unfortunately they need their maintenance team to do some cleaning work on the bathroom vents. Truly disgusting and probably hasn't been done in years. Housekeeping and FO staff were great and location was perfect - just need to sort out some deep cleaning of the ventilation.

Room looked old. carpet might need a bit of shampooing and the curtains too? It looked a bit musty in my opinion. Generally, room had enough space. Wifi was ok. Breakfast was very basic too. Staff were friendly.

I just recently stayed here in a King bedroom for 3 nights. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay as the beds were comfortable, shower was nice, and there was a nice TV. But, I was told that I had breakfast included in my stay. I went down daily to enjoy the supposed free breakfast, but when it came time to check out I found out I was charged for it! The food was okay, but the only complimentary part was the bread, coffee, and the yogurt area. The very small selection of hot food is what made them charge me $21 per person, and they never let me know I was being charged except on the last day. I thought I was being charged this one time due to it being my last day staying, but when I went downstairs I was hit with a bill for food! I just wish it would be little bit more communicated that for the breakfast included in your room price, you're not allowed hot food or you will be charged $21+ per person without warning! I personally don't feel as the hot food (scrambled eggs, poached eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans, bacon, grilled tomatoes, and mushrooms) were worth the $21. I will be returning for a stay, but instead of dealing with that I will make my way to a cheap resturant. Besides this complication, the hotel was lovely & I would highly recommend it. Even if we did not get our room serviced (we never did as we were sick & stayed in) they would drop off fresh towels daily without me asking!

The hotel is in a nice spot and is walking distance from everything. (except Cradle Mountain) You get what you pay for here and the value is good. The beds are comfy, the aircon works and the amenities are well laid out and in good condition. The restaurant and bar are the standout here as are the staff that work there. The menu and food are fantastic value and the tram is a nice touch. If I had a complaint it was the noise from above me, but with carpet on the floors and an old building I dont know that there is much you can do. I always have earplugs as I am a light sleeper, so that is my solution.

We stayed 3 nights at Best Western Plus (formerly Mercure). Very pleasant hotel, with the Snapper restaurant and Tram Bar on the first floor. The only negative was lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom to remove steam. I'm surprised there was no mould in the bathroom considering how long the steam hung around. Yep

The front desk was nice and the hotel has a restaurant on site (with a little Tram Car in the dining room). I slept fine. The only negative is that they do charge you to park -- but it's only 6 dollars for the night.

We spent one night here in a family room. The staff at the hotel are great, friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location in the CBD a close walk to all the CBD has to offer and you can walk to / from the transit centre. Breakfast was a good buffet selection of fresh food. The restaurant serves good meals and has a happy hour and nightly specials. There is also a lot of restaurants to stroll to. The hotel is older in style but everything is extremely clean. The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. The mini bar was a reasonable price. Overall I would stay again and recommend this hotel to others. We look forward to another stay.

So we paid something like $110 for a night and to be honest it was perfect. Looks recently refurbished, comfortable bed though walls are thin. Great channel selection, good water pressure, basic amenities and everything you need for 1 - 2 nights. Car parking $6 on the hotel premises or free street parking. Close to restaurants and shop , albeit they close VERY early. A great base with quick check in / check out service. For the price, I couldn't fault. I've paid alot more for alot less.

The accommodation was not bad but the heating system was noisy and could not sleep. For normal requirements like toothbrush, shower gel, soap you have to go to the reception and get. The night staff at the reception had an unacceptable and attitude on that night and not friendly. This one staff need to be advised and trained. The standard of this accommodation need to be improved.

Stayed at Best Western when I had to look after my husband after eye surgery. We had a disabled room which was easier for him to negotiate (Bathroom convenience etc) as he was dizzy from the surgery. There was an in house restaurant, and room service meals available. Bed vry comfortable, room quite quiet and private. Parking was convenient, as were town shops.

Met exceptations, clean, spacious rooms, everything works and convenient location. We have stay here before and will stay here again. I wish car parking was free though, when weighing up similarily priced hotels in area it makes it less competitive. No complaints and nothing exceptional. Value for money.

Nice hotel with super comfy beds. We stayed here for a night and while we had a car, we didn't need it in this super walkable city. Nice restaurant with a lot of selection. Free newspapers and bottled water. Would definitely stay here again. Very friendly and helpful staff. Central location. Walking distance to Coles and Woolies.

I stay here every couple of months . The rooms are comfortable and clean with everything I need. The bed is comfortable and I sleep like a log, The location is great, right in the middle of town. But for me the staff keep me coming back. They are friendly, efficient and helpful. A cut above what my experience often is in other places.

Close walk to town and across the road from the theatre down the road from the James Boags Brewery Shuttle bus drops you off and picks you up at the door Rooms are clean and priced reasonably Staff are very friendly. Not far from the best Gluten Free Cafe (Samuel Pepy)

Building and amenities are old and need some refurbishing. Best Western in Hobart was much nicer, not sure why it's called Best Western Plus there was nothing plus about it, it was located close to town which was a plus I guess, parking was cheap at only $6 a day

It was great to be so centrally located. It was easy to walk out to a local pub and explore Launceston. We loved the Tram Bar. The food was great, the staff helpful and the ambience warm and inviting. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed at Best Western for one night. Nice clean room with super comfortable bed. Had a good nights rest and enjoyed the breakfast buffet the next morning. We were surprised how much we liked this hotel, given the low tariff. Reception staff were friendly and very efficient. Our room was on the 6th floor and our request for a king bed with a walk in shower was met. The room and bathroom were clean, furnishings seemed fine, bed was very comfy and we had a lovely view to the fields and hills just outside Launceston. We requested a wake up call at 6.15 am and it was spot on time. It cost $6 to park overnight and there was plenty of parking on a Sunday night. The drive to the airport was very simple the next morning - a right, a left and then straight ahead until the airport exit signs! Less than 15 minutes. We walked to the gorge from the hotel and then through to the end. Was a bit hot so rang for a taxi -$12 back to the hotel. A really enjoyable afternoon. The only let down for us was the bar and restaurant. Couldn't find much open around the hotel so decided to eat there. Happy hour was on but the wine offered was pretty poor. Our meals were just OK. Again though, staff were lovely. Definitely good value for money and would stay again and recommend.

It is located in the city very convenient if you just want to wander around city. The building and facilities were pretty old but very clean. The staff was nice and polite. They charge overnight parking for $7 till midday of the checkout day.

Found this hotel just driving past, what a good find, lovely room, great meals and good service. Bed was comfy had a good nights sleep and enjoyed the Foxtel channels just in time for Game of Thrones. Thanks

A lot of these reviews are being very generous. The very thin walls alone are enough to rate this hotel down. You could hear conversations clearly. Soundproofing/quiet is key in hotel rooms and this place just didn't cut it. In addition, the building is badly maintained. Carpets were stained, torn and frayed and the window was not sealed properly. You could hear the wind howling at night quite audibly. Shower baths are always an indication of age and the shower head leaked badly, spraying out behind the shower head, over the curtain and onto the floor. Reception staff were very young and quite aloof. Interestingly, we didn't realise when we booked that this used to be the Mercure which we stayed at once many years ago. We decided not to go back there for similar reasons (from memory). Clearly not much has changed. There are better hotels in Launceston for a similar price.

Excellent location, handy parking - for a price, spacious and comfortable rooms. The staff were helpful and courteous. The lighting in the room was a bit harsh and the water pressure wasn't great but overall a pleasant experience.

We had a 2 night stay here and the hotel is nice, clean and comfortable. The Tram Bar offers nice meals for reasonable prices. Our major critique on this hotel is lack of sound proofing, I am a light sleeper and was literally woken up by the room next door turning on their TV at 6:59 one morning! Then the following night we had the noise from people leaving the theatre across the road (appro 10:30-11pm) as though they were standing right outside our door laughing and talking.

A lovely big room and a great location. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The Tram car restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and the food is delicious with very generous portions and reasonable prices. The fridge is full of bottles so no room for your own things unless you take all the beer out which is what we did. Great big bed and very comfortable. Not too noisy considering hotel is in the city centre. Theatre next door so it is noisy when it empties out.

Centrally located this was the perfect overnight stopover on my recent business trip. As I was a little tired and late arriving I opted for room service dinner and was pleasantly satisfied with a quality meal which arrived quickly. Will definitely make this my place of stay in Launceston.

Handy location with many restaurants around the area. Short walk to seaport. So relax walking in the city. One of the must is to visit the churches on foot which is so amazing. Overall stay experience is great. Only problem is the mattress is too soft.

Extremely dated hotel. Bathrooms are scummy. Walls are paper thin. Restaurant has similar atmosphere to the one in ‘The shining'. I would only stay here again if forced to by gunpoint. Book one of the newer hotels in Launceston unless you know the owner of this place are prepared to stay here out of pity.

Our first time in Launceston with 13 people (friends and family) in our group. We arrived in the afternoon around 6pm and found all the room cards are ready in the separate envelopes for us. Didn't wast anytime for us sorting out all the details of 13 people. Very efficient work compared to the hotel we stayed in Hobart the other day. The rooms are large that are fitted with one queen bed and one single bed. The bedding was very comfortable that I believe everyone of us had good rest. Breakfast room is a bit small but maybe just enough for the size of hotel, and it's very cosy. I like this hotel and will come back if I come to Launceston again.

Agree that this place is well located, however, the interior desperately needs updating. I stayed on business for three nights and while my colleagues rooms were reasonable mine was poor - there were large stains on the carpet and stains and a rip in the net curtains. Everything just feels dated and nothing about it is welcoming. You need to refurbish this place ASAP!

We began our week in Tasmania with an overnight at Best Western Plus, and it was a very pleasant start. The room was attractively and very comfortably furnished, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A favorite and top selling beer in Australia is James Boag Premium produced at the factory a couple blocks from the hotel. Our tour was fascinating and well worth the visit. Don't miss the nearby hike up the scenic river gorge either.

I booked my mum and aunt into the best western plus in Launceston for several nights. I can only comment on the aspect of me seen the room and the service they received on checking in. Customer service was quite friendly. Upon entering the room, I noticed it was fairly small however well equipped. my only issue was that the room could have used some updating including in the bathroom. All-in-all mum and my aunt both said it was nice. Be prepared to pay for parking. When they stayed it was $6 per night and the parking is a small car park around the back. at peak times you may never get a parking spot even though you've paid for it. We unfortunately damaged our rental car because of the type and dark almost unlit car park.

Rooms have been nicely refurbished. The location is great. Walking distance to many hotels and other attractions in the CBD. Staff were friendly. The room was very clean and not overly noisy. Beds were comfortable.

Great location, plenty of parking to the rear. Standard clean chain hotel rooms with all the facilities you could expect. Nice views from our upper room. Quick check in and out. We really enjoyed our stay and would use again when visiting Launie.

Second leg of our holiday in Tasmania is in Launceston decided to try the Best Western. We weren't disappointed, friendly staff, clean and spacious room and room service meals plentiful and reasonably priced. Would stay here again

This hotel location is excellent near downtown, and fast check in and out. The city view also let you relax. Even though there are stream room, but quite small and share with woman. Differ with normal one.however, still worth to stay there. Breakfast is normal.

Recently stayed here for a work trip, i found the location to be great and central to the Launceston CBD but the hotel room just needed a bit of a face lift. The bench top in the bathroom was very low, and it was a bit knocked around, nice to have separate taps of the overhead show and bath (height might be an issue if your very tall). The room has a huge TV but it looks to big against the rest of the furniture in the room.

The room we stayed in was old dated and dusty. The toilet seat was stained and old need replacement bad! Bathroom had spider web, walls stained. Overall we were very disappointed staying here given it was our first time visiting Tassie.

Mid price hotel in a great location, you can't beat this one for value! Spacious rooms and friendly helpful staff with great accessibility to town and the waterfront. Decor is dated, but for a night or two you can't go past this one for location and price.

It is interesting that on booking.com this place is rated a 4.5 - there is no way it is close to this. Very comfortable beds and a great buffet breakfast but that is where the fun ends. This place is in desperate need of a refurb and is located in a back street of Launceston with a hideous car park in the rear. I took a picture of the room phone as it is somewhat of an antique! Old drapes in the room and tired hallways would make this a 3.5- marginal 4 at best.

Really handy to everything. Bed and bedding were gr8. Had breakfast in Trambar...hmmm....ok but nothing to write home about. Customer service outstanding. Need screen on Windows....mosquitos come in. Certainly will return.

We stayed at Best Western Plus for the 1 night . Check in was smooth, parking overnight is $6 (until mid day the next day) in a car park that is right next to the hotel, the room that we got had a king size bed which my wife appreciated a lot, the furniture in the room was a bit worn down esp. the desk in the room with the edges all chipped but we weren't really fussed by that. The bedding was a bit dusty as when our 7 month old daughter slapped the bedding twice we could see dust floating in the room and all 3 of us were sneezing for a while after. We called reception who promptly offered to move us to another room which we checked and after seeing that the other room's bedding was no better we decided against it. After that until the time we checked out we didn't really have any issues with any dust though. The Breakfast buffet at Snappers Restaurant was a decent spread with a choice of fried eggs available on request as well if you didn't like the poached or scrambled option on the buffet. The staff at the hotel and the restaurant were very helpful and accomodating throughout our stay.The hotel and its facilities were satisfactory for a 1 night stay for the price we paid for it.

I started my tour of Tasmania at this friendly, modern, central hotel and enjoyed my one night stay. The room was delightful and spacious, the reception staff friendly and helpful and early breakfast was lovely.

First time staying at this venue. Good room rate, everything you could need was in the room. Ordered room service for dinner and it arrived very promptly and was well presented and enjoyable. I did not use the Option for fast check out, but sounds like a plan for next time. Central, parking, accessible and looks like a great restaurant.

Reasonably well located. Friendly check in. Ordered full breakfast the day before at a reduced rate and we owere really disappointed about the standard. Coffee machine was malfunctioning. Room and cleanliness fine.

Great location. Very comfortable bed and no room noise from adjacent rooms. Parking was easy. And affordable. Had an issue with lights in the bathroom not working and this was rectified with a phone call to the desk.

Four days stay here. Room is large one king bed with single bed. Breakfast was included with limited choice. Staff n service is up to standard. Tips almost shop around here will be closed at 1700hrs. Nothing to do in night time.

Great location well priced and in the heart of the City so everything was within walking distance.Staff were friendly and helpful, room provided the comfort required after a long day on the road, sightseeing.Having stayed at a number of other Hotels in Launceston this one met the mark for price, value and comfort for my dollar.

Adequate parking available but use your sat nav to get there via all the 1 way roads. Easy walk into town, WW & more importantly BWS ! Spacious room KingKoil bed. Efficient & reasonably priced room service, eg enormous burger with all the trimmings for $19 & breakfast was sensibly priced.

Best Western had very comfortable beds and staff were very prompt and excellent in their customer service whilst staying at Best Western. Within walking distance to restaurants and the mall and only a 15 minute drive form the airport.

Stayed a few nights, room was clean and bed comfortable. Room service menu was small but suffice and well prepared. All staff were pleasant. Location was great, close to all I needed - only complaint I had was noise from the dance theatre next door, however it was early evening and school holidays. Overall I would recommend.

We had great stay, the staff were very friendly and very helpful, comfy bed,and the location was close to shops, restaurants, and I the beautiful City park. It was great value for money, we will definitely be back !!!

i have stayed here quite a few time and although the exterior looks dated they have done some work on the inside. Sometimes its over priced for what it is but if you can snare a good price its worth a look. Its very close to the centre of the city so an easy walk to pubs cafes etc for some better priced good quality food.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The housekeeping staff were a little abrupt and on one occasion we saw dirty sheets piled over a metre high on the floor outside the lift. The sheets were not inside one of the cage/ trolleys they use. I found this to be a bit of an infection control issue. The restaurant that's advertised on their website wasn't open for dinner. The restaurant doors were locked and there was no signage stating why it was closed or when it would be open.

Great comfy room for the price. Everything we needed and quite modern (except the carpet needed replacing). Lots of extras in the room. We just stayed 1 night & was great as we flew in quite late and this had 24 hr reception ( many hotels receptions closed at 8 or 9pm) So close to everything & late check out to 11pm

We stayed here on two separate occasions each time for a night. The first time, we got a bigger room with a King-sized bed and an extra single bed, but the second night was a King-sized bed. The room facilities were excellent and the beds were very comfortable. The staff at the reception were very helpful. We made use of the guest laundry which was very convenient. My only issue was with the car park, where parking was very limited. Guests enjoy a flat rate of $6/day but it is challenging to find an available lot if you return too late to the hotel. We came back at 2100 hours on the first occasion, and there was only one lot left - it was a very small lot to fit the SUV that we were driving.

Stayed 3 nights with my son in a King room split into two singles. Smallish rooms with comfy beds and a small clean bathroom. When we first entered, we were pleasantly surprised. Went to bed with minimal fuss, but also noticed that the room was very dusty and wouldn't be good for asthma sufferers. We were woken at 5am hearing the next rooms phone alarm, them they put their TV on and I could hear it clear as day... Paper thin walls.... also the curtains were very thin and did not black out the morning sunlight. They are my only issues (for me they are deal breakers), staff were great, the food in the restaurant and tram bar is great and the location in town is perfect.

The tiny bathroom is terrible and the shower in the bath worse as so slippery and cramped with the shower arm falling down constantly. The sound proofing is non existent as I could hear EVERYTHING that was going on in the rooms either side. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and the room service food good, but I won't be back.

Stayed 2 nights with a tour. Location is perfect to wander around town and explore. Super comfy beds. Hotel interior looks a bit tired and in need of an update but staff were very accommodating. Didn't use the hotel laundry but it looked more than adequate and was well used by others on our tour.

Be prepared to pay for on site parking which is not in the web page.lovely room but the bed was so soft i nearly hit the floor..just a walk around the corner for your shopping,this time of year bring a thick coat..

We had two nights there and have no complaints at all. The room was large and comfortable, large clear tv with access to Netflix. Staff were pleasant and helpful, breakfast was good and the bar reasonable. Washing facilities are available. The hotel is close to everything

Not being huge travellers and not having much time, we needed something central and convenient. Fabulous price per night including lovely buffet breakfast, very close to town and most sight seeing activists we are attending, lovely view. Rooms clean and daily service very attentive. Would stay again!

A great place to stay particularly if you're attending a theatrical production (as we did) at either the Earls Arts Centre or Princess Theatre. A hop, step and jump across the road. Check in was a breeze as was checking out. The room was small and perhaps a little tired but was comfortable enough for what we wanted and still included a king size bed. All the usual amenities such as tea/coffee making facilities and a well stocked mini bar. The big TV was up to date with a variety of channels and functions. Great value to as we had a top deal. A good place to make your Launceston place

Spent one night here after flying down from Brisbane & arriving at 8:15pm. Staff are friendly & accommodating & our room was clean, tidy & pleasant with a very comfortable bed. Buffet breakfast was simple, but delicious consisting of hot & cold selections. I would recommend this hotel for affordability, cleanliness & helpful staff

I travel a lot interstate for business my company chose this hotel. Usually it only for one or 2 nights on this occasion it was one night only. Check in was quick and easy, room overall was good and clean. This hotel is a bit tired but still great. Breakfast was lovey. On the downside room service was ordered late at 9.30pm as I had just finished work, it took ages to come, I was told only one person was working and they were doing it all, the cooking and delivery. Other than that everything else was perfect including the staff. Will stay here again.

Overall a decent hotel, decor and furniture a bit out dated but is clean and simple. Location wise is good, situated in the middle of the town, close to everything. Stayed during winter time and seem not many guests, hotel is quiet and look empty. There is a western restaurant nearby call The Black Cow which is worth to go, superb nice steak!

I stayed at this Hotel for 4 Nights. I find it a very good Hotel in the middle of Launceston. The room and bath room are very good. However, this Hotel has a fantastic Restaurant. The prize for food and drinks is very reasonable. Tip: Have a porterhouse steak for $26.00. Comes with ships and salad. Probably the best 26 Dollar steak I had in my life.

The Best Western Hotel in Launceston is a long way away from the old Best Western motels that doted the Australian regional centres. This is a lovely place to stay in the heart of Launceston. While the decor and finishes are older and slightly tired the beds are clean & comfortable, the rooms a reasonable size, there is a table for eating and a desk for work. Not sure if wifi is generally free for all guests but it was a stable and reasonably fast connection. I didn't use any of the facilities but room service was quick to deliver. Food options were standard both in the restaurant and in room dining but a 5 minute walk in any direction offers you many other choices. Loved the quick check out... no need to queue up in the morning with everyone else checking out. Pick up the invoice under the door and was able to just walk out to my car. Loved that they have thought about the busy traveller.

Took my daughter away for her birthday .. was our first trip to Tasmania and stayed in Launceston. From the moment we stepped into the Best Western Hotel foyer we were treated like special guests. Staff were always friendly, professional and accommodating to any requests we had. Nothing was too hard and always with a smile and warm greeting. Location is less than 2 minute walk to main shopping mall, and there are lots of dining and shopping choices all within walking distance. Tourist attractions also in walking distance - City Park, historic homes, Boag's brewery. Would definitely recommend Best Western Launceston be considered if you plan to visit the city.

Stayed here on the weekend. Staff were lovely, room was very clean and tidy, bed was super comfortable. Room nice and warm for cold Tassie. Parking was easy, restaurant food was nice and served quickly. Free wifi easy to use. Check in/out was a breeze and price was very reasonable. Would recommend. We stayed here on a Groupon voucher which was great value for what you got. Hotel is centrally located Plenty of parking available & affordable Rooms were generous size Enjoyed the old tram car in the bar Did fine it was rather loud at night, could here people coming and going up & down the hallway so not the best nights sleep. Would return for the price, it was perfect for our needs

The room faced the public car park, it was quite noisy most of the night into the early hours of the morning. Bit disappointed that they charged for parking. Better luck next time. The receptionist was very nice.

We stayed at the Best Western for our shopping weekend and we loved it as it is centrally located to the shopping area, the outdoor parking was good and the room was really comfy. The buffet breakfast was nice too and the only negative from our stay was the unfriendliness of one of the breakfast personnel, however, will look at staying again in the future.

Stayed here for a couple of nights on a work trip to Launceston and the Best Western was a good hotel - comfortable rooms, quite modern but the bathroom was a little dated (still functional just a little old). Breakfast at the hotel was good as well, decently priced and had a good spread. Would def stay again!

An old building that has been well maintained. Stayed in an exec room on top floor with views across the city. Free room upgrade for anniversary. Staff could not be more accommodating. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Launceston. This hotel was in a great location with only a 5 minute walk to the bars and restaurants. Unfortunately we did not sleep very well in this hotel as our room was really loud from the noise that came from within the hotel it's self. It wasn't that people were partying or anything, it was more that we heard a lot of banging noises and people moving around at night. Other than that it was ok.

Staff were great and helpful, the room was comfortable and clean had breakfast lunch and dinner there and enjoyed what I are, the wifi was great didn't have any troubles with that. Will return to stay there again in the future I'm sure.

Centrally located. Paid parking available. Check in & check out smooth. Excellent customer service from all staff. Stayed two nights. On walking into the reception area there was a distinctive services club smell however our room was clean, the linen was clean, the beds comfortable, & everything worked. The room was well heated however the bathroom (including the floor) was freezing. There is an issue with the bathroom not being ventilated, even with the window completely open, at the conclusion of taking a shower the room was full of steam & all surfaces (including anything sitting on them) were wet. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel as it easy to walk a few minutes to interesting cafes. There is a guest laundry provided with the use of paid washing machines & clothes dryers. Overall, a good stay. Would stay again.

We came straight from the airport mid evening, in the dark. It's easy to find and in walking distance to restaurants on George Street. Front desk check-in service is quick and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable, if not in need of a fresh coat of paint. Car parking is at the rear of the building and is open air and an additional $6 per day

Stayed last night, can not fault the place. Check in was great a big thank you to Mathew many thanks. Allocated a room on the 6th floor room 618 facing car park great position nice and quiet. Room are basic, but have nice comfy beds,walk in shower and large tv. This is my 3rd stay here worth a go. Central location. Pay parking $6 per day. Great staff. Check out was smooth. Breakfast was first class.

This is a basic hotel which is cheap and cheerful. Cheap rates and good location near CBD and Monkey Park. Trambar restaurant had very good food at very reasonable prices. Quiet location, cheap parking off the street ($6/day) which is a quiet one way road. The room was tiny, but functional. Wouldn't want to stay longer than 1-2 nights in it though. Would have given more stars apart from issues with billing (essentially charged the full room rate as pre-authorisation, then again at checkout!) and unhelpful reception staff member (Tiarna) who was quite rude, unhelpful and dismissive and tried to blame my bank for the issue. Disappointing end result as overall the experience had been quite reasonable up until this point

Stayed at Room 605. Room is spacious and clean. Housekeeping is doing a great job keeping the room clean everyday. The hotel is centrally located and lined with shops, cafes and restaurants. It would be better if hotel provides bedroom slippers, disposable toothbrush and complimentary drinking water.

We thought the hotel was in a good location and the staff are very friendly. We had a good size room with a nice television, small round table and 2 chairs. They also have a nice bar with a happy hour. The negative: Our large bed was very saggy and uncomfortable and needs replacing, the door to our room gets stuck on the floor and a bit of a solid push is necessary, the bathroom door is hard to shut and squeaks when it is opened or shut and it's loud enough to wake the other person if he/she is lucky enough to be asleep. There are too many noises early in the morning with linen cupboards being slammed and trolleys going up the hallways. There was no plug in the bathroom. The food at the bar was terrible.

Started 2 nights. Excellent hotel for the price in CBD. Close to all restaurants and bars. Great breakfast spread in the morning for $20. Compared to most Hotels in Hobart, this was a steal. Worth it. Will stay here again definitely.

As with Best Western hotels elsewhere, this branch in Launceston offers basic accommodation at affordable prices. Don't go here expecting frills and facilities. But for the price and location, I think it is a great value. Our twin room was clean, functional, and most importantly the beds were comfortable. If you're touring Tasmania, chances are you would be driving a car, and finding a parking space for overnight in central Launceston isn't that easy. So I think it's reasonable that the hotel charges an extra $6 for 24-hour parking. They have ample space, and I never had difficulty finding an empty spot. From the hotel, it's a short walk to Launceston CBD, which has a pedestrian area lined with shops and cafes. A walk in another direction will bring you to a small but pretty park, where locals do their morning stroll. And a few minutes' drive takes you to Cataract Gorge, the town's prime natural attraction. In summary, this hotel is a very good base to savor Launceston.

We loved our stay here. Was a very clean comfortable place to stay. The best part was how comfortable the bed was, we wanted to take it home with us!! The place was very central to everything. Being able to walk to the CBD easily was great. And was just around the corner from the Princess Theatre.

We booked a King Room with Spa, which is one of the refurbished rooms. Large room on the top floor and was very clean. Only thing was a light in the bathroom(shower) was blown and one above the bed was flickerin, also the tap to the spa was a little dodgy move it to the left ever so slightly and it goes from hot to freezing. Also no sink in the kitchenette but we don't travel much so we don't know if this is common. The hotel is in a great location and we had dinner at the Tram Bar down stairs, which was average quality meals. The bed was the best thing we have slept on, for us it was perfect. After this visit we will definitely be looking at staying at other Best Western hotels.

We stayed as the Best Western in Launceston for one night during our trip to Tasmania. The hotel is located in the town center only a few steps away from the main shopping area. For us also convenient was the proximity to the local Europcar branch. The location of the hotel is probably its main selling point. Our room was located on the second floor. The room itself has probably seen better days. Carpets, interior and bathroom felt a tired. Overall, I think the hotel requires a bit of a refurbishment. Sleep quality and cleanliness were good; however.

Group of 7 friends tried to dine at the Tram Bar. Called Tuesday for a Friday dinner, the staff member said there's no need to book unless there's 15 people. Presented to the Tram Bar only to find the place full and 2 tables with reserved signs. Woman at bar stated no tables were available and I said well that's a shame considering I asked to book a table. The woman stated they don't take bookings (yet there were two tables reserved). When I mentioned this the woman stated those tables were for a tour booking...so they do take bookings. We left very unimpressed. Hurriedly attempted to organise another restaurant to dine at (at dinner time on a Friday night!). Dinner Belle in the Quadrant Mall were only too happy to accommodate us and they had great food. The Tram Bar must be the only place in Australia that doesn't take bookings. If this is what the service is like I'd hate to think of what the food is like. We won't be back.

As a regular guest at this hotel it's hard to pass up on the good location. Shops, restaurants and entertainment all within walking distance. Staff are professional and helpful. Overnight parking is an additional $6 and can be arranged from the front desk. The hotel offers two restaurants - Tram Bar and Snappers Restaurant. Happy hour in the Tram Bar is always enjoyable. Admittedly an older hotel with aesthetic challenges however great location and service.

We loved our stay at the best western, the rooms were nice and clean and the beds were very comfy. We did have to pay for parking which was $6 per night which we were happy with. All rooms are easily accessible with the lifts close to the car park. We also enjoyed our buffet breakfast here.

Located very close to the main street with plenty of eat places very close by. We upgraded to a king bed which put us on the top floor and consequently a nice view. (The lower floors would not have a view.)You do need to pay for parking - $6 a day, which is at the back of the building. Very comfy bed,friendly staff and a bar and restaurant.

Very much enjoyed my stay here. Renovated rooms, friendly staff and close to all of Launceston's CBD and entertainment. Definitely recommended and rates were more than reasonable. Didn't try the restaurant but that looked good too.

My wife and I had a quick weekend away at this hotel, it is very central and the front desk staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We eat both nights there once in the bar and once in the restaurant - both meals were very good. I would recommend this hotel as a good average in Launceston.

This motel is a great central spot to town attractions, shops and cafes/ restaurants. Very reasonably priced, comfortable and clean. You are charged a reasonable fee for parking. Our door entry cards needed re activating, (as did our travelling companions)- apparently they should not be located near mobile phones.

This is a basic hotel in a fairly convenient part of Launceston. The room had two beds a king and a single however the bedside lights were strange. One on the side of the single and one on the other side of the king which meant the second person in the king has no light to read. Just move the light from the single bed to between the beds. The iron was filthy and was replaced on request. However as there was no tap in the laundry the iron in the laundry could could not be filled. I was impressed however to receive a call from the manager apologising, excellent service.

This hotel is walking distance to shops and restaurants. It is in a great location. The rooms are very clean but a bit dated. Parking is six dollars a day and there were plenty of spaces available. The laundry was good and three dollars a load for washers and dryers. Best Western Plus is priced well. I would stay here again.

Having to pay for parking was a little gotcha that wasn't clearly mentioned at the time of booking - places like this should provide parking as a matter of course, not expect people to pay for it on arrival. The room we booked was tired, had a bit of a sweat stink and in dire need of a refurb. The safe worked but it was one of the old ones that didn't give you a warning / confirmation - and I needed help to reset the PIN. I called but the manager on duty who had worked the night shift for many years said it will need to wait until morning. No one phoned back or call in the next morning. After I enquired again the next day I received a knock on the door and it was reset, so service wasn't altogether responsive. Check-out time looked quite busy and stressful from what I recall.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights as we were attending a wedding in Launceston. The hotel is well located, clean and has friendly staff. The rooms and bathrooms are in need of a refurbishment. I would still recommend this hotel to others.

I stayed here after getting a Groupon deal. The bathroom is a bit dated and there is the usual overpriced minibar taking up essential room in the fridge. No smile from reception when checking in and no free parking, it was $6 but had in/out priviledges. There was also no shower cap and more surprisingly a hair dryer. I had a buffet breakfast included in the deal which was nothing special and was just what was expected, cereal and hot food and drinks.

Stayed here a few nights and it's in the best location for everything you could possibly want - shops, cafes, pubs, beautiful walks. The happy hour that runs for two hours is great value and so is the full breakfast.

We got a good deal on a clean, comfortable and spacious room and the mattress was the best I've ever come across. The location is good and the staff pleasant. I'd go back just for that wonderful bed and a great night's sleep.

The hotel could not be better positioned, literally in town but back a street so a little quieter. We could not get a park on the first night as the theatre was on, but had no problems the following nights. The room was adequate however the bed was a king and very comfortable. Don't expect big spaces but our room had a huge tv with netflix. We would happily stay again especially since we secured the room on a great special. It is close to everything. Don't miss the farmers markets!

This hotel is set in a great location. It is both comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was good and the king size bed very comfortable. The parking was priced well and convenient. Unfortunately from 11:30 pm in the morning there was a large amount of noise within the rooms nearby. This noise included yelling and slamming of doors. This went on till 12:30pm. From 12:30pm to 1:30am in the morning the TV in a near by room was put to 100%. This did not get resolved by the hotel till 2am. This is not something I would expect from any 3 to 4 star accommodation and should have been attended too a lot earlier by staff. Unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel in a Friday/ Saturday night due to noise.

Our room faced the entrance to the hotel and having the option to open the windows is great, but noise from the street made us close the windows, No fault of the Hotel though. Stayed 3 nights on 6th. Floor Deluxe room. Comfortable. Well appointed. Well servived. Well positioned close to CBD, shops etc. Would stay here again. Only issue that is a problem is the lack of secure parking.

The staff made life easier as we are disabled so they let us park out the front, plenty room for Scooter outside our room with powerpoint to charge. Offered shower chair. very friendly and helpful. comfy bed and large TV, big deep bath.

We booked an executive room for 3 nights. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Furniture in the room was modern and bathroom nice and well maintained. The hotel is very centrally located just walk out the door and you are in town. You have to pay for parking there but not too expensive at $6 per day. Only negative we found was the lack of soundproofing of the rooms both internally and externally. We could hear noise from the room next door and traffic and car park noise. We were surprised as we thought an hotel of this standard would have looked into noise levels. Meal in Tramway Bar was very good.

Friendly reception staff, easy check-in. Comfortable stay, a little dated but clean and tidy. We had a corner room which was a great space - a bedroom the size of normal suite with large window, 2 arm chairs and small table plus another room same size with 2 big windows large dining table, arm chair and sofa bed. TV in both rooms. The Tram Bar was a great little bar and restaurant nice fresh food and friendly staff. We ate there two out of three nights stay. Good central location.

I have stayed in Launceston a few times recently, however this was the first time at Best Western Plus. Going forward I will be staying at this motel from now on. All amenities we good, clean and available. Room was spacious and clean. The only down side to the room was the noise that came in from outside. It would help if the Windows were double glazed. Apart from that EVERYTHING else was very good. The team at the motel were great, they made you feel welcomed and everything was no trouble. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

We were offered an extra room when our booking of family room for four adults and one child was actually cannot be accommodated. As this is confusion caused by the booking website, Best Western generously offered us one extra double room without extra charge. We feel very satisfied.

The hotel is right in the middle of the city. Parking was available at a reasonable price. The room was clean and tidy. We dined at the restaurant. The meal was reasonable but the service was very ordinary.

Good location in the city (difficult to get to without GPS as it is "back a lane") with good parking. Nice Tram Bar, but dinner for a large group was slow and disorganised! Had a Huntsman crawl out of our A/C on the 6th floor when we turned it on!! When asking if the room could be sprayed the front desk response was "well, we can call the maintenance and see what they have, or look at changing rooms (we were already fully unpacked and didn't want to)....if it will make you happy! A/C also making a loud knocking noise "outside our room" and maintenance didn't appear for the full night!! Stay would have been nice, as rooms are good, but customer service spoiled it for us!

Front desk staff we lovely. Rooms were clean, tidy and nice and large. We also had dinner in the tram bar, food was beautiful and staff polite and accommodating. Location is great for shopping, easy to get into the city heart by foot.

Nice enough hotel and comfortable bed...but that's it! I was so disappointed with the state of the bathroom and general cleanliness of the room. My bathroom seemed to have been modified for disabled, however, it's difficult for able body person to sit on a toilet when your feet barely touch the floor. So I took a closer look and the state of the bathroom, quite frankly left me shocked. There was what appeared to be faeces on the side of the toilet, the washbasin taps were filthy and the carpet had certainly not bee vacuumed! The filth on the taps and tiles wiped off with little effort so imagine how clean it could be if it was scrubbed or just reasonably cleaned. I generally don't have to clean the bathroom of the hotel/motel before using. Also there is a $6 charge on top of room for car parking ??

The staff here was so kind. After the airlines had lost my mom's luggage, they helped us to call the airline and held the luggage when it arrived. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We also had a refrigerator to hold all of our berries and wine.

What a perfect place to stay. Walking distance to everywhere but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Great size room and bathroom. Friendly staff who are extremely helpful. And omg the best restaurant we had dinner there every night and did not dissapoint. Will be back

Nobody likes being away between Christmas and New Year for work, but this was made all the more pleasurable by staying at BWL. From the moment I arrived I noticed that the staff were friendly and approachable. Staff smiled, and were more than happy to assist with any queries. The food options were good, I visited the "Tram" restaurant, had a buffet breakfast, and also had room service. Overall I would happily both recommend and visit myself again in the future.

Stayed on level 4 in a standard room. 2 single bed. Quite spacious, amenities all worked. Dinner and breakfast were a buffet as i was with a tour group. Food was lovely, staff all friendly. Location is within a short walk to all the main shops and also within walking distance to Civic Park. There is a slight hill to get the motel if walking but nothing too major. Would stay again

I felt safe and comfortable when I stayed this week. Thank you, next time my work brings me to Launceston I will certainly be ringing and asking if I can have the same room again! The hotel is convenient for all amenities and has on site parking making it easy to check in and out with luggage :)

Room was clean and comfortable, bathroom could do with an upgrade. Bed was very comfortable. Great location, walking distance to most attractions, beautiful foods and wines. Was surprised that extra had to be paid for parking daily in an outside carpark when you already pay for the accommodation.

It was a good room overall. Neat and tidy. Plenty of features. One very minor quibble was the bedside table had something sticky on it, but the receptionist said that would be looked into. I will stay at Best Western again if I need to.

The hotel is centrally located and offered all the basics. The room was clean, comfortable and the shower was good. The included breakfast was good. There was nothing outstanding, but more importantly, nothing to complain about.

Great location right in city centre. $6 parking per day. Bed comfortable and room clean but rooms very rundown and tired. Really needs an upgrade. Basic accommodation. I'm not too fussy so it was ok but if you are at all picky look elsewhere to avoid disappointment.

Had such a great experience staying at this hotel! Excellent customer service from everyone we met but I would like to mention Tiarna and Scott from front office and two girls working in the restaurant on the morning of the 5th of January. (Couldn't see your names) Genuine care and help. Good amenities and excellent location. Nothing was too much to ask. Order room service twice and had breakfast once, nice food, served in a timely manner. Thanks for everything, you made our time in Launceston more enjoyable! Would recommend this hotel and stay there again without hesitation. Keep up the good work! ??

Wheather in the Launceston area for business or leisure the Best Western Launceston is my first preference. Conveniently located only a short drive from Launceston Airport and in the heart of the CBD. Hotel staff are very freindly and helpful. The Tram bar provides an unique experience and the meals always are enjoyable. Furthermore, the the town's restaurants, shops and services are on your doorstep.

Good hotel within walking distance of shopping precinct, food, entertainment, attractions/parks etc. Only one night spent as we were at the end of our Tassie visit but would stay here again. Room was comfortable with all amenities needed. Carpet was worn and frayed at doorway of our room and in halls. Food available in-house at either restaurant or bar as well as room service.

The Best Western is a nice hotel close to the city, rooms were very nice and well appointed and since our last stay all have been air conditioned. The carpets on the floor we stayed in were worn and frayed and detract from what is a nice hotel.

Great location in downtown Launcestion. Parking provided but we walked to explore the city. Only negative was lack of coffee in the lobby. Only stayed one night so didn't use many of the facilities (restaurant, bar, gym).

Held our Christmas function here was fantastic value and great service couldn't have asked for more. Function manager Monica was excellent and could not have been more helpful. We decided on the Great Northern Bar area and it was perfect for our needs.

Great stay except you can hear a lot from the rooms next door, didn't like we had to pay $7 for parking and wasn't told about it until the next day, very comfortable bed nice and close to the city, would recommend to family and friends:)

We stayed at the best western plus for three nights after we couldn't find anywhere else to stay that wasn't booked out or exorbitantly priced. The room was pleasant, clean, spacious and tidy. To be honest we couldn't fault the room. The bed was comfy, not too firm or soft. The employees were friendly and helpful. This place is located in the centre of Launceston and everything was in walking distance. This is a great priced hotel, nothing to complain about!

The hotel location is central to CBD, the tram bar and restaurant food are excellent. The main restaurant did nt open every night it was listed too which is disappointing when the food is this good. The rooms are dated but real issue is poor house keeping that lets the hotel and brand down.

Location difficult to find at night as it is hidden from the main road. Other things is good. Plenty of parking space and staff was friendly. Room was good big and spaces with air conditioner and TV. Wifi speed need to increase as it tend to be slow at night.

We had 15 of us starting a bicycle trip from Launceston to Hobart via Cradle Mountain. The hotel was kind enough to let us use their meeting room to store and reassemble our bikes as we had to pack them in boxes to take international flights. The housekeeping team is brilliant. It was a raining day when we started, they were running around and helping to find us shower caps (to cover the cycling helmets) and plastic bags to keep our luggage from getting wet. This is probably one of the few hotels in Launcestion that offers two beds in a room so that us guys didn't have to share a bed under one blanket. Breakfast was good and staff again are very efficient.

Very clean, comfortable and accommodating place to stay. Ideal location in the middle of the city and close to sporting facilities. We rang late on Friday afternoon/evening for Saturday night accommodation and they were able to fit us (Adults x 2, children x 2). Highly recommended.

Great hotel in a great location. Would also recommend the Tram Bar for informal dinner. Very friendly staff. On site car park is very convienent and a discounted rate for in-house guests. Walking distance to some great attractions the monkeys in City Park are amazing.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, the staff were very lovely. helped me with everything i needed and where more than happy to answer all my questions. the only negative was it is desperate for an update, particularly the shower. im 5.3, 52kg and there was no way i would have been able to fit comfortably in the shower as it was placed over a tiny bath.

I haven't stayed in many Best western properties but I would rate this as pretty average compared to other hotel chains. The room was small and bathroom could do with improving. Over all the place was comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful.

On Sunday evening I had dinner in the "Tramway" Bar. The room was uncomfortably warm and there did not seem to be any air conditioning operating. The meeting room (off the Tramwy Bar) the next day was also very warm and stuffy. For dinner on Sunday night I had penne chicken pasta with pesto. The food, I am certain, had been microwaved and the sauce was very watery. A simple dish to make well from scratch but apparently not so at Best Western Plus Launceston.

Just a bit disappointed that the bathroom hasnt changed since we were there in the 80's. Overall the room was clean & well laid out. Close to lots of restaurants and shops & local attractions. I would recommend it to my friends

Found the room and shower room cramped. This could be greatly improved by removing the large chest of drawers (who needs that for a couple of nighrs' stay?), moving the desk under the television which would then leave a nice space for the two chairs and small table. As it is, spaced is unnecessarily pinched and cramped. Breakfast is 'average'. Would be nice if there were free range eggs and like other chains perhaps quorn vegetarian sausages available cooked to order. Staff also need to have their hair pulled back rather than be allowed to hang over the food. Decent coffee would be good too, why can't real coffee beans be used instead of the awful stuff provided. Location and parking were good.

Stayed at the hotel with my elderly mother for a shopping trip. The location was very close to the city and the parking was good value at $6.00 per day. We had a family room which was of a good size and clean and this room was very quiet. The staff were very helpful, but sometimes a little hard to find at the reception desk, maybe the management should think about more than one person as they seem to have to perform many roles. The room service was great and the meals wonderful.

The room was clean and tidy. The location is right in the middle of the city. Parking was available and only $6 a night. Access for unloading luggage and getting to the room is very good. They have a trolley. Would return to stay here again.

I recently took a group of 17 to the Launceston area staying six nights. We chose Best Western Plus for its convenient location. The hotel is used by many tour groups and is reasonably priced. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful. Rooms are large and clean. Breakfast had plenty of choices. We also booked two dinners in the dining room in advance. The choices from the group menu were delicious. Our first dinner on the Tuesday was excellent with the staff making one of our members having a birthday feel special and the entire group was seated at a long table. The only negative was our second dinner on the Saturday night. On checking that a table had been set up for our group of 17 (including another birthday) we found that we had been allocated a number of small tables and were reluctantly give two larger tables after remonstrating with the restaurant manager despite the dinner having been booked months in advance and our meal preferences being given to staff the day before. So they were well aware of the group size. The manager insisted that we needed to let them know ahead of time if the group wanted to sit together and she couldn't have such a large table as she had other bookings. However, whilst we were in the restaurant the only others were two tables of two and one of about six. No such problems on our previous night! Would have thought that of course the group would have wanted to sit together especially as one of the group was having a birthday. Sorry but the rude restaurant manager spoilt what up to that point had been a perfect stay.

We had a quick overnight stay in Launceston with our grandson and chose a family type room. The room had a queen bed and a single bed with plenty of room for the three of us. The room and bathroom were both very clean and the reception staff helpful. The parking on site was convenient.

We have been guests at the Best Western Launceston for three nights as I write. This business has been through many name changes over the years that we have visited Launceston and some have been good and some not so great. The Best Western Hotel is well located in the city centre and is close to shopping, entertainment and some good food options. The cost of accommodation is very reasonable and the rooms are clean and spacious. There are things that could be improved such as a little paint here and there but overall it is a good place to stay and the staff are delightful. Good option if you are coming to Launceston.

I am currently staying at this hotel for a week with a group visiting local historic houses and gardens. The hotel is very conveniently located to shops and parks.The room is a great size and is cleaned and serviced daily to a high standard. The tram bar is fabulous and happy hour from 4.30 to 6.30 each night has VERY reasonable prices. Meals in both restaurants are varied, tasty and reasonably priced. Breakfasts are very good with beautiful mushrooms and exceptional baked beans! I would highly recommend this hotel

Our tour group stayed here whilst on our tour of the Launceston area. The hotel is perfectly placed in the centre of town on a side-street. The hotel has a great bar and restaurant with very reasonably priced food and drinks. Breakfast was included in our booking and was an extensive buffet selection. The staff have all been excellent. I would recommend this hotel if visiting Launceston.

Think I liked most was that it was quite. Situated in a lane, there was no traffic noice or people yelling in the street. Room was warm and comfortable clean, and well presented. For the price it was well above average. Parking good at $6.00 a night. Room service well priced. Staff very friendly and happy to help. Short walk to cbd. My 90 year old mum was able to walk it. Look forward to staying again nect year. Highly recommend if you are going to see something at Theater North as its rigth next door

Our clients always stay at Best Western Plus Launceston at the start and finish of our tours as they live in various parts of Tasmania, including Flinders Island. They know they will get great service and be very welcomed by the friendly staff. Roses Travel also enjoys a great relationship with the staff

Located in the centre of town only seconds from mall. Room was nicely appointed, clean and fresh. On site restaurant and bar that was actually open at the right times. Staff had a can do attitude and on site parking was available at a cost.

This hotel is well located in the beautiful city of Launceston. There is a reasonable selection of restaurants close by and within walking distance. The hotel rooms are average size and clean and tidy.

This was the last stop on a small group tour with Premier Travel Tasmania this was my second visit to Tasmania after 25 years away. I booked Best Western Plus through Wotif. I also had been in the Travel Industry for 30 years and worked for Southern Pacific Hotels (Travelodge, Park royal etc.) On arrival check- in ok in staff were pleasant, no help with bags though. Room 205 was on 2nd floor. The room was small, (motel style) it had a view of a car park. Carpet was stained and needed a deep clean or replacement. It had a small table and two small chairs in one corner near the curtains. The beds were really hard and very uncomfortable but it was only one night, room outdated. Our curtains would not close properly and were torn. The room was very average, showing its age it needs a full refurbishment, must spend money on rooms. Bathroom poor, I am slightly disabled, shower very slippery hard to get into, grip handles poor. Also very badly cleaned. Shampoo and conditioner with cheap packet squares of soap were very cheap and poor quality. We had room service and this was excellent as you could order off main menu, mild coconut butter chicken, naan bread, steamed basmati, raiti which was delicious. My friend had split loaf garlic bread, creamy garlic penne pasta w/ pumpkin, pesto, spinach & toasted cashews again delicious. This was a redeeming point. A good chef Buffet breakfast next morning was ok although again restaurant dark needs a full refurbishment also. There's not much choice of places to stay in Launceston and maybe they need some new 4 to 5 star hotels. I was expecting a lot better in this hotel. As a Best Western Plus, I imagined it would be better than a regular Best Western. I would rate this as a 3 ½ star at best. Best Western lift you game.

The staff were very professional ,friendly and helpfull ,the room and bathroom were well cleaned and comfortable , good food and service at the bar and restaurants,situated basicly in the centre of town. Easy access to transport and shops, cafes ,what more could you want.

We love staying at Best Western Launceston. The staff are friendly and helpful. We especially love the convenient location, close to shops and cafes. The gardens are all within walking distance and the Princess Theatre opposite for a great night out.

Easy walk to food, shopping, entertainment and tourist attractions, would highly recommend this to anyone. Good central location to many other towns and areas in the north of Tasmania. Tram Bar had terrific food too.

This is the second time I have stayed here in a week and each time the staff have been super friendly and professional. The rooms are gorgeous with large, comfortable beds, beautiful linens including thick, fluffy towels. The rooms are generous in size and have everything you need including an ironing board and iron. The hotel is located just a 2 minute walk from the shopping mall and restaurants. I would stay here any time.

We stayed a few nights here and we were very impressed with this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and well serviced by good cleaners and it is perfectly positioned for the city and shopping. We will definitely be back!

Booked this hotel after reading reviews of 'new' hotel. Room stunk of cooking oil on arrival and had to put aircon on to rid room of smell Bed comfy but room dated with an OLD bathroom with shower curtain and wall aircon. Good location and room service meal was fine. Cleary only part of the hotel is refurbished so very disappointed. No power point near desk for computer. Have to get on hands and knees to plug into one on the floor. Group of bikies staying and morning revving of engines out the front of hotel not pleasant.

My week at the venue was well organized, and went smoothly - like clockwork. the staff were Very helpful, and always pleasant, and polite, and did their best to look after us very well. the lifts to all floors were fast, with very little waiting time for them, The restaurant did a great job feeding us all.

New property so everything sparkly new and high rooms have nice Water views Breakfast buffet good. Bathroom cleaning very patchy over 5 days. Pillows very bouncy new and way too high but nothing else. Location is good for shops and tourism Sights. Not enough car spaces on property.

BW Plus is a good choice being central to everything in Launceston. The hotel is quiet and has good facilities. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Very accessible 'tram' bar and restaurant. Convenient parking area.

very happy with the overall rooms, I had a good size room , but my boss even had a better room. the meals, very good, really is a nice place to stay. very comfortable beds, pillows a little big, but that is normal for hotels, I always take my own. also very quiet, easy to fall asleep.

Forced to give my credit card details in case of damage Whyvis it when I stayed there the month before I wasn't asked for this Then to top it off there was no parking left in the adjasent carpark and was told by reception to park at the carpark up the rd on the corner and given a permit. The next morning there was a $70 parking ticket.not happy

We recently had the Australian Lace Guild conference for a week at this hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful, we only had to ask and they did the best they could. As I was local I did not stay in the rooms but we had one for our office and it was a great room. The food was nice and generous helpings. The conference rooms could have been a bit brighter being that we were all lacemakers but as we will back again next year, the staff has promised to make them brighter now they know our needs. I really can not fault them.

Close to city ,clean and comfortable spacious with everything you need. Rooms are spacious king bed with a view. Reasonable menu for lunch and dinner. Meals are what you would expect from a hotel of this standard.

Ordered seafood crowder but the problem was no seafood in it. Felt ill afterwards. They forgot our main course. Breaky was just as bad. Poor quality food is the only way to describe it. Great to stay there but eat out!

This hotel is in close proximity to the city centre and within easy walking distance of many attractions. As part of a tour group my wife and I were pre-checked in so on our arrival access to our room was very quick. The room was quite spacious and equipped with an efficient heat pump. It was clean and tidy. It was also quiet. The bed was comfortable and made up with crisp clean linen. The bathroom was adequate in size and provided with quality towels of good thickness. The shower was over the bath so, notwithstanding the provision of a sturdy handrail, older or incapacitated guests would have difficulty in using the shower. It is difficult for hotels to continuously cope with the wear and tear of guests who are a bit robust in the handling of their suitcases. I make this comment as there was substantial paint chipping around the door frame that looked unsightly and detracted from the general appearance of the room. This was added to by the appearance of the hallway carpets where wear could be seen immediately outside the lifts. Another downside was the location of the in room safe. This was at floor level in the bottom of a wardrobe so it was necessary to contort the body to a difficult angle or lay on the floor to gain access to the safe. In addition poor lighting at floor level would make it difficult for people with deteriorating eyesight to enter their codes. Breakfast was served buffet style. There was a wide ranging selection of food that was also plentiful. Other meals were not tested.

As the organiser of a group, usually about 12 couples who have stayed overnight at Best Western Plus to attend a local function on each of the past few years, we have always been most pleased not only with our accommodation but also with the cordial attention of the staff. We will continue with Best Western as our base in future years.

Great location!!! Accommodation comfortable and clean. We had dinner in the Tramcar Bar and it was really lovely. Friendly staff and great service. The buffet breakfast was amazing. Overall, I would totally recommend this place to anyone.

Many of our staff stay at this establishment and the quality and service are consistently good. I never get a complaint and this counts for a lot. As a travel organizer, you quickly hear the sordid stories and I never hear a bad word about the Best Western Launceston

Very good position, central to everything. Great food, friendly staff. The most comfortable bed l have ever slept in away from home. I stayed with my two sisters and we all enjoyed having a drink in the bar before having a delicious dinner. Breakfast was great too.

We had a 2 night stay here. We had a hire car so was great to be able to park at the hotel for $6 per day. Our room was comfy but nothing too flash, the King bed very comfy as were the pillows. Free Wi-Fi a bonus. Coukd walk to the street for shopping, take away, restaurants etc. We ate at the restaurant which the food was nice

Our room was clean and tidy we had a Groupon deal so this included car parking and brekky. Good value for money. Friendly staff and good location. Staff were a little slow in topping up juices and food at the buffet.

Room was adequate for the two of us and the Best Western is conveniently located. We were able to walk everywhere for our four day stay. Pillows left a bit to be desired - think someone had forgotten to put feathers in ours - no support at all. Room was clean and had all basic amenities. Windows in our room did not appear to be sealed properly and the wind if you sat at your in room table was felt easily - it also added to the room being noisy than perhaps it should be be from outside influences. Buffet breakfast was very nice as was the meals we had in our room and in the Tram bar. Staff were helpful.

Nice and central to the main shops and hospital. Within town you can walk everywhere to see more you need transport. We like it there. As we go there for medical reasons it's convenient and close to all areas we need to go to

Central accommodation close to the theatre and shopping. The rooms are tired and in need of an upgrade. The beds are comfortable and the linen is clean and luxurious. Breakfast is adequate. Car parking was included in my deal but at 8.00 pm at night there were no spots left. I utilised a "Groupon deal ". For the price, it was great value.

Quite well positioned with easy access. Very clean and quite well maintained, however very much showing its age. Fittings like shower are more 90s than anything close to current day. Restaurant (separate review) appears even more dated. Staff were very attentive and did an excellent job.

This was our first accommodation whilst visiting Tasmania. We booked it merely for the location and nothing else. Didn't expect too much from a Best Western. The staff was friendly and allowed us to check in early which was fantastic because we needed to offload some baggage and get changed. That's about as good as it got. The door to our room had a smear of blood over it. Quite obvious, but quickly rectified by the staff when brought to their attention. The carpet was stained and looked horrible. It's well overdue for a deep clean or replacement. The bed was really hard and the room was a tad outdated. Also overdue for a makeover. Parking at the back would be tricky when it's a full house. Seems very limited. We were lucky to get a spot because most spaces were reserved for special guests. (Good way to make us feel like second rate citizens). It was merely by chance someone moved out of one. They also charge $6 a day. As stated earlier, it was for the location, and as expected it didn't deliver on anything else. On a side note, the tram bar has decent food.

The hotel is at a very good location. But the room heater is not working in a winter time is a big no no in winter season. Restaurant inside the hotel is a pub style catering and will not suit family dinning. Carpark is at the back of the hotel and you would need to pay at a discounted parking fee. Overall this hotel is very old in condition and you should not trust the website front page.

Stayed here on my bday and they set up a table in the tram bar with balloons and 30th sequins without us knowing, went above and beyond with celiac Requirements and allergies for dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended!!

Good clean well managed accomodation in the heart of Launceston. Walking distance to the inner city attractions, restaurants, shops, cafes. Parking is extra on top of tariff, but this is becoming the norm these days and it was not excessive. Rooms satisfactory and they were what you would expect from such accomodation, Staff were friendly and helpful. Downstairs internet kiosk was the slowest i have experienced in recent times but i think the server needed to be rebooted and cleaned out. There was construction underway next door to repair a structural collapse and there was a little noise intrusion during some of the day during construction hours but as i was out and about most of the time it did not bother me, staff apologised for the inconvenience. Overall a good experience staying there and i would stay there again.

We were in Launceston for the Tamar Valley Peace Festival and needed a quiet, centrally located hotel so that we could walk to most places. This hotel offers great service, comfortable rooms and is exceptional value at this time of the year. A very full breakfast was included in our tariff.

Can I start by saying all staff we encountered were really nice and helpful. But I was expecting a lot better in the hotel. As a Best Western Plus, I imagined it was better than a regular Best Western. We stayed here twice in our 4 day visit, in 2 different rooms. Our second room was better in that the air conditioner worked well. The hotel is very tired. The bed in 204 was really bad and I am thankful the other room we had had a better one. They seriously need to spend some money on the rooms. I even looked at switching to the Grand Chancellor around the corner as it was cheaper rate on the day of arrival, but couldn't afford to forgo what we paid. The location was easy to access, I was surprised that they charged parking, albeit $6. The kids said they had the best wifi.

Just disappointing to have to pay for parking. The location was good to walk around town to go elsewhere for dinner. The breakfast was very good. The room was clean and comfortable. A bit irritating was the church bells which seemed to be going at all hours.

Best Western Launceston is where I like to stay when in Launceston (3 or 4 times per year). The room rate is reasonable, the rooms are of a good standard, the hotel facilities suit my needs, the hotel location is good.
