    « Excellent stay »

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel because everything was clean. The staff was friendly and I had everything I needed. The rooms were fantastic and the balcony view looking out at the ocean was magnificent. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The breakfast was great too.

    « Great Experience! »

The Best Western gave us an oceanfront room at no extra cost. The room had a balcony and we got to watch the super moon and sunrise from our beds! Then in the morning we ate breakfast on the balcony and watched the surfers. Such a wonderful stay!!

« Nice and Clean, Oceanfront, Small Hotel »

Nice to stay in a smaller oceanfront hotel. Usually oceanfront hotels are large and therefore noisy . Rooms are currently being remodeled making them feel new. The style is understated modern with muted natural colors. Lobby is a little small to host the free breakfast and parking is a little tight.

« gorgeous ocean view, nice room! »

We arrived, got our room and were disappointed it was not oceanfront since we thought (due to a miscommunication with our booking agent) that our reservation was for oceanfront. I went back to the desk to inquire about this and Kendall B, without batting an eye gave us an oceanfront room and apologized that we would have to move to a higher floor (with what was probably even a better view!) The room was clean, decorated well and had a balcony! Free parking and a delicious free breakfast. Kendall B also recommended a restaurant next door (ocean grille) which I will review, but at least here will say it was GREAT, too.

« Sea and Sky Air Show »

We arrived about 6 hours before check in for the air show and they allowed us to park in the hotel lot for free which was a huge bonus considering all other parking in the area was at least $20! The garage was very close to the beach and we had packed a cooler so we were able to use our large Bubba cups to go back to the car to get beer and we did not have to spend $6 for a beer at the bars along the beach. We gave them our phone number and they called us about 1:30 and said our room was ready but we decided to stay at the beach to enjoy the show. As soon as the air show was over we were able to go directly to our room and didn't have to deal with traffic. The room was very nice with a balcony overlooking the beach. The room was very clean but they were also in the process of upgrading a lot of the room so we will definitely be staying here again next year. Staff was very polite and everything was great. The only issue is that it was a little pricey but I expected that with the air show happening.

« Great location for room views of ocean »

Received upgrade to ocean view for our anniversary, making wife very happy. Nice restaurant next to hotel with indoor and outdoor seating. Coffee and breakfast on balcony taking beautiful sunrise photos. Room had a musty smell, but everything worked fine and wonderful bed.

    « Recommend »

I was flying in very late at night and wanted a hotel room for convenience before going to my parent's house for a few days. The location is great, price was very reasonable, and breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. I had a room that faced what appeared to be an offices and it was very quiet. No complaints at all.

    « Wonderful Hotel!! »

This is our second time to stay at this hotel and we LOVE it!! It's very clean and they now have a complete hot breakfast which was wonderful. It's located right on the beach and it's definitely worth it to spend the extra money and get a room with a balcony overlooking the beach. We can't wait to visit again.

    « Outstanding Service!! »

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel with my two young daughters for my birthday earlier this week. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by Kaylee who made sure to offer complimentary cookies to my very excited little girls! On the way to the room my girls (3 &4) commented on how good the hallway smelled and we were fortunate enough to meet Zayna, a housekeeper we all came to adore during our 3 day stay. The breakfast is fantastic and includes eggs, bacon , biscuits and gravy, waffles and all of the cold breakfast goodies you would normally expect! The breakfasts were one of the girls favorite parts of our stay! We also had the pleasure of meeting Jaime and Melissa who were so sweet with my inquisitive little ones. The staff here is incredible, I had trouble Parking my large truck at one point and a maintenance man actually stopped and took the time to help me back into the perfect spot with plenty of room to get in and out! Taking my two children on vacation isn't always easy but the hotel staff here helped make this one of the best trips we have taken together. Great location, Beautiful rooms, incredible food and Awesome Staff, I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Jacksonville Beach!

    « Will be back! LOCATION/LOCATION/LOCATION »

We have to travel to Jacksonville for the Mayo Clinic fairly often and we have stayed at several different places... This is by far the best! If you're looking for high end, this is not it but if you want a really quaint atmosphere, on the beach-this is your spot! It's only a two story place so it feels kind of homey. It has direct access to the beach, right next to the pier. Within walking distance is anything you could ask for from Publix/Walgreens/convenience stores-any type of eatery you could want. Great little dives to high end food are all within several blocks. Along with all kinds of shopping. The place itself has the nicest staff that we have ever encountered! The breakfast buffet alone is worth the little extra you will spend to stay here. The rooms are spacious and have the most comfy beds/pillows we have slept on, at a chain like this. , and is very quiet. It is undergoing refurbs, but expect it to have some small glitches, like any place, that is not brand new, will have. The pool is 10 people max, so maybe if that is a selling point... this is not your place. I will also say that there are 3 types of rooms, no balcony, balconies on the side that overlooks the pool/shops, then the ocean view balconies-make sure you are specific. The bathroom doors, as of now (like I said they are remodeling, so I don't know what changes will be made) are a little odd, but doesn't bother us. They are two small panels that just open out, it hides the bathroom but doesn't lock. The parking is free and under the building, so that is really nice to have covered parking. Another plus is that it's a block off A1A, 30min from Amelia Island, downtown and the interstates are very easily accessible and we haven't ran into an traffic congestion here at any time of day. Again, this is where we will be using in the future.

« Tremendous Value on the Beach »

I was completely thrilled with our 3 day stay at the Best Western in Jacksonville on the beach. Went there for a Ravens game vs the Jags and to celebrate my sons birthday. We had very clean comfortable accommodations. Housekeeping did an excellent job on our room and the grounds on site. The staff was very friendly with a warm greeting every time we left or returned. There were warm cookies in the mid-day and the BEST continental breakfast I have ever had. On my sons birthday he had the choice of restaurants to go to for breakfast before the game and he chose the freebie at Best Western. I was happy to save and to have a great breakfast! The room was fantastic as well as we had a very luxurious king size bed. I have 4 herniated discs but slept fine pain free. I value customer service, quality, and value. I would highly recommend you stay here. You won't be sorry.

« Affordable and comfortable beachfront hotel »

We enjoyed our stay at the BW. The view from our oceanfront room was amazing and easy beach access. We were glad to have a frig and microwave. Plenty of channels on the Tv and Internet was free and good. There is a bar next door that played music on the weekends but only during the day so not a big deal since we weren't in the room much anyway. The room was very clean and staff friendly and accommodating. The beds were fair but they are updating the rooms so hopefully the beds will be replaced. Breakfast was good and a nice selection. Even though the area is small it was never crowded. If it's a pool you like to swim in this is not the place. Pool is VERY small and in-between street hotel, parking lot. Walkable restaurants and bars . To the right of the hotel is the fire dept that you can get a free beach wheelchair which was great for our special needs daughter. Overall this is a great hotel for the price.

« Great location, friendly staff »

This is an older hotel that is well maintained although in September it can be sort of humid. That said the staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is ok and free parking a plus in that area. Many bars and restaurants nearby and the staff can help you choose if you don't know what you want. Jacksonville Beach pier is within two blocks and an easy walk.

    3
    « A break from reality »

The hotel was average, but the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was nice!! Not just cereal or muffins. I'm sure it will be nicer once they finish the construction it was under while we were there.

    5
« End of Summer Getaway »

The venue was perfect access to everything we needed at JAX Beach. Located on the beach, we could bike or walk to many restaurants and the staff was always super friendly and accommodating. Would definitely return when in the area.

« A must stay if your visiting Jacksonville Florida »

I travel to Jacksonville Florida often just to get away, so take it from me, this Best Western is a must if you want to feel at home while your enjoying the City of Jacksonville Florida. I was there a few nights ago, and I'm in the process of booking another room for this coming weekend. You got to check out the ocean front rooms. Your a few feet away from the beach, restaurants, and sports bars. Magical views, Clean rooms, Excellent Service, Perfect location.

    « Great experience »

Just got back from a wonderful 3 day mini vacation. This hotel and staff was one of the best experiences I have ever had and I have traveled a lot. The view was breath taking. We will be staying there again. A special thank you to Moriah for helping us and being extremely awesome.

« trip to Mayo Clinic »

We were hoping to find an overnight sanctuary while visiting the Mayo Clinic for a reasonable price. Very disappointed in the room and the balcony area Its Dated and disappointing. The maid was very nice. The pool was a joke..

    « Wouldn't stay without a discounted rate »

We live in South Georgia and just wanted a weekend at the beach. We chose this hotel because I get an employee discount. The ladies at the front desk when we check in were very nice. Breakfast was very good as well. The rooms were spacious but the bathroom was extremely weird. There isn't a real door, it just looks like a closet. The beds were very comfy though. If it wasn't for my employee discount wed probably stay somewhere else next time though.

« Comfortable Beds, OK Room, & Great Location. »

My wife and I along with our two young daughters stayed at this hotel for one night on August 9, 2016 in room 306. We paid the pre-tax/fees rate of $126.00. The hotel stay was very good, but not exceptional. The room is ideally located right on the beach, which I liked a lot. I paid a little extra for being so close to the beach as opposed to a nicer hotel further away. The hotel is on the small side, but makes very efficient use of its space. Check-in was simple and the hotel was relatively clean. The lobby looked updated and remodeled. The room was of average size, but definitely showed signs of age. The rug looked like it could be replaced, but the beds looked really nice and were very comfortable. The bright white comforters looked very new and felt very smooth. The pillows were great. I was not impressed with the bathroom. First, there are wooden double doors to the bathroom with no lock. I found that odd and not safe for young children. The bathroom was on the small side with low ceilings and showed more signs of age than the room itself. I liked all the different channels from Direct TV. There were 5 channels devoted to the Olympics alone. The room had a refrigerator and microwave that came in handy. The AC worked well. I didn't spend extra for a balcony room. The free breakfast buffet was pretty good. The space is very small, but they've made very efficient use of that space. It was never too crowded when I was there and I was able to find seating for our family. They had cereals, yogurts, bacon, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, fruits, bagels, doughnuts, and some other items. One little perk I especially liked is that they kept the orange juice and apple juice freely available 24/7. Most places shut that off after breakfast. They also had some freshly baked cookies in the evening. The location of the hotel is great, right on the beach. They have a small pool just outside the lobby which our kids enjoyed. There are numerous restaurants and stores within walking distance. The young white woman with a tattoo on her right forearm (did not catch her name) was very helpful when we ordered Chinese take out since we were unfamiliar with the city. There was enough parking even though the hotel was fully booked. There was a free internet station in the lobby area, which I used a lot. One thing I did not like at all, and I hope management makes some changes in regards to, is check-out time, which is 11:00 am! That's ridiculous! Most hotels I stay at these days have a more reasonable check-out time of 12:00 pm. We were very rushed the morning we left. Overall, the room was pretty good and I was happy with my stay. Marc T. « EXCELLENT LOCATION, CLEAN ROOM, GREAT BEDS & BEAUTIFUL VIEW »

This place is great! After checking all reviews I felt this was our best choice. It was PERFECT. I loved the smaller hotel (only 2 floors) and from the moment we checked-in everything was perfect. Parking was so easy, you park under the hotel (GREAT). With two teenage girls I wanted SAFE. Again, this was the perfect place. We choose an ocean view with a balcony, it was nice but, really to hot to enjoy sitting out for very long. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The price was $$$ a little pricey for a Best Western but, they made up for it with great beds, good plush towels, and location, location, location. We did not make the continental breakfast but, hear several people say it was excellent.

« Nice place to stay in Jacksonville! »

Excellent location with super easy access to the beach. The complimentary breakfast had all the traditional offerings. The room was clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Unfortunately our room did not have a balcony or a view.

    5
« great hotel, nice area, good family hotel »

this hotel is right on the beach. We did not hear any noise from other rooms even though the hotel was sold out several of the nights we stayed there. Staff is friendly and helpful. New washer and dryer in hotel. nice breakfast. parking available on premises so you don't have to worry about the crowded beach parking.

    5
    « Clean and comfy »

Great location...half block from the beach and smack dab in the center of shops, restaurants, bars. Free parking is awesome considering the location. Clean room, helpful staff, decent breakfast, comfy bed. The outside of the hotel is not great and the pool is tiny. Inside the hotel is very nice and modern.

    5
« The Best Stay Ever!!! »

Best Western Oceanfront has got to be one of the best hotels ever. The staff was wonderful, the facility was very clean, continental breakfast was good, is directly on the beach, smelled clean all day, great service, great rooms. Is right on the main strip with restaurants, bars, stores, and anything else imagineable. This is definitely one of my favorites and I'll definitely be back.

    5
    « Small but Mighty »

This was a super adorable little hotel with everything that you would expect from larger hotels. Breakfast buffet, cookies, coffee and lemon water all day, super clean, great staff, and an adorable little pool that was great for a quick dip. It's right on the ocean within walking distance from lots of restaurants and shops. You will pay a little extra for an ocean view but it's very worth it. We were very happy with our stay here and would definitely stay again.

    2
    « Not a Ocean View »

Was a side view , not what we paid for, will stick with Holiday Express for now on! Table had chip crums all over them when we walked in, ciagrette butts on the balcony. Bed not that comfortable. Went to breakfast had no eggs was not making them today! Kids running all over the place, pool closed down in the middle of day to be clean, had to wait for hour to go back in.

    3
« Great Location for Beach Access »

I always enjoy this hotel when I went to head straight to the beach. The under the building parking is fantastic when it is 100 degrees outside too and you have to get into a hot car. It is very noisy because there is a large nightclub scene all around it on weekend nights so the traffic noise is terrible but there are also security guards and the sheriff's office has an officer or two stop in the front office often so it never feels unsafe - even when there are a lot of drunk people partying right across the street. The staff are friendly and quick to serve and the full breakfast is a huge bonus. The pool is pretty much pointless so don't go expecting to swim. Spend the extra money for a beach facing room if you can.

    4
    « I Love JAX Beach »

The hotel was great for the value. Ask for ocean view when booking. Rooms are spacious, clean & the bed is very comfortable, they were replacing all the mattresses while we were there. It is SO convenient to the beach, restaurants & shopping. Free breakfast! It was great!

    4
    « HOTEL OVERALL »

I would recommend your hotel to anyone, the staff was very nice and courteous, anything they could help with, they did.the breakfast bar was awesome, everything was right at your fingertips,if ti wasn't there and we needed it they made it their business to get it,the staff wasalways professional and courteous, polite very nice,so thank you very much for your hospitality.

    « Skip this hotel »

Stayed here June 26, 2016. $223 got a no view room that was nice and clean. HOWEVER the sound from upstairs was as if the ceiling was made from paper. The hotel has only 1 elevator Sunday with people checking out it was insane waiting for room to get on. The pool is right by the street with no privacy from passing cars AND has a 10 person capacity! During my stay even though the capacity is 10 people there were about 20 people squeezed in like sardines. Certainly not safe or sanitary. No sitting area outside or in hotel lobby with beach view. So unless you specifically ask and receive oceanfront room then unless you walk to beach you won't see it. My advise, skip the stay here. Save money and dispappointment....stay away!

    5
    « Great Stay »

We took a quick trip to the beach an chose this hotel because of location and price. The hotel is nicely renovated and clean. We had an oceanfront room the was great for watching sunsets and sunrises. It's located next to a lively restaurant that has live music and drink specials throughout the day. The breakfast buffet was better than your average continental breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy etc. I would definitely stay here again.

    5
    « Great Location »

This motel is great. Very good location. Very clean and well maintained. Employees are very nice and extremely helpful. Balcony was awesome and beautiful view. Breakfast is very good. Walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. We will return!

    « Great stay »

Great hotel for our family reunion. Very nice remodel, we stayed here two years ago. So it is very modern. The breakfast was very good. Always plenty of food. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Beds and pillows are very comfortable.

    3
« Great views, small balcony »

If you stay in a king ocean front with balcony ask for room 319 or 326. They have the biggest balconies. Lobby is very small for guests at breakfast time. I brought mine back to the room. Decent breakfast offered apples oranges bananas oatmeal scrambled eggs pork sausage biscuits oatmeal and cold cereals. French toast needed a little help. Also had OJ apple juice and coffee. Bathroom was not very clean. Mirror was splattered with what looked like toothpaste and other peoples hair still in shower. Found a bobby pin on the counter. Mini fridge temp control knob is missing in room 321 and smells funky. Also saw was looked like a roach crawl in from under the room door which I killed. Should have taken a pic of that before I disposed of it. Positive comment is the bed was really comfortable. Hotel parking lot had about 12 mattress stacked in a parking spot. Maybe they just switched out some rooms ??

    5
« Nice place to stay »

Rooms were very clean, and the staff was always helpful. The price for the room was very acceptable and comparable to the other hotels in the area. Best Western Jax Beach is in a great location to both Jacksonville Beach and Atlantic Beach.

    5
    « very clean »

A nice place to stay, they have a full breakfast, which includes bacon, eggs, waffles. pancakes. The rooms are clean and the oceanfront rooms are the best. We will be staying here again. It is really close to the pier so that is a plus.

    4
    « Mini Vacation »

BW is small hotel. But I enjoyed staying because everything is walking distance. The rooms are small for the price you have to pay. The staff is great. The bed is the best! I would stay again because bars and restaurant is walking distance.

    4
    « Location location location »

The hotel is located 10 steps from the beach and is one of the most affordable being directly on the beach. Free breakfast, parking, and wifi were the cherry on top. The staff is very attentive and responsive of all customers needs. Room was ready at check in onto bad thing is it is close to nightlife which can be loud at night.

    4
    « Very comfortable »

The bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept on in a very long time. It was clean and located right on the beach. There were places to eat that were walking distant, and if you needed to drive, the driving was not difficult. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was good. I recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to Jacksonville Beach and just looking for a place to sleep and shower.

  • 4
« Business mixed with the beach »

The hotel is right on the ocean and within short walking distance of many restaurants. I was there on business during the day and enjoyed the beach in the late afternoon and evening. Many restaurants were in walking distance. I recommend Joe's Crab Shack for seafood and The Blind Rabbit for the best burgers.

    5
    « Very Pleased »

Very pleased with Best Western. We've stayed here for the last 4 years on our Anniversary and the service seems to get better and better. We chose Best Western over Hampton Inn down the road which is where we got married. We were disappointed our first anniversary, so since our second, we've been staying at Best Western and have always been pleased with the staff, service, and hotel. We do miss the hot tub, but that's a small feature we can live without during our stay. Highly recommend Best Western.

    5
    « Customer Service at it's best »

Tiffany exemplified customer service at it's best! Thank you for your patience and understanding through the entire process. Your tone is extremely welcoming and I really appreciate everything you did from the bottom of my heart. I am honored to be a BW Member.

    4
    « Staff hospitality »

The staff at this hotel were exceptional in trying to meet our needs and go above and beyond. Thank you Melissa, Moriah, and Tiffany for being hospitable. I only rated this as a four because the room itself had unwelcome palmetto bugs. Florida is known for them, but still difficult to deal with for a patron.

    3
« Great location to the beach but showing it's age »

This hotel is directly on the beach, perfect access the beach and shops along the boardwalk. The hotel staff were extremely friendly. There is onsite parking for no charge. The room was very dated and small. The curtains were stained with large areas of ????? The carpet was coming apart and is in need of replacement. I believe other hotels in the area would have been a better choice for my family.

    5
« Great place to stay »

Stayed for 5 nights. The rooms were very clean and decorated nice. We had what was called a street view , but was still able to see the ocean . I have stayed at this hotel many times and the recent renovation of the lobby is beautiful. My family especially enjoyed the expanded breakfast selection. Melissa was our front desk clerk all week and she was very helpful with all of our questions and was just very friendly.

    4
« Right on the Beach »

The hotel is located right on the beach and has ample parking and security. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Tiffani at the front desk was very pleasant and worked very hard to keep the lobby in pristine condition. The rooms are nice size and well kept considering all the sand and traffic this hotel gets. The beds are very comfortable and all linens were stain free. The location affords many restaurants and shops in walking distance. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

« Great hotel on Jax Beach »

Excellent hotel for a couple of nights stay, right on the beach with free parking, Good restaurants and bars within walking distance. Very good breakfast in the morning. Large room with comfortable bed.

    5
    « High School Reunion »

Best Western Oceanfront at Jax Bch was great. Personnel were friendly, room was clean and smelled good. Elevator was fast and location was good. Would definitely go back and would recommend for families or adults. Holiday weekend so busy and rates were probably higher than usual but stay was still great!

    5
« Perfect for weekend getaway »

We came in on Friday afternoon and left Sunday. Our room was clean and really big. We even had a little balcony to hang towels and bathing suits. Loved the location! A light breakfast in the morning was perfect. Parking was also free which was awesome for the holiday weekend. Highly recommended!

    « Very Good »

We stayed here for 1 night on our roadtrip, never stayed in a best western before, very pleased with everything, car parking was free and undercover, check in was pleasant and so easy, room was king size with ocean view as booked, ideal location for bars and restaurants, breakfast was included in the price and very good, although dining area was quite small for the size of hotel and can get busy, would stay again.

    2
    « I should have kept looking »

Let's start with the lobby very nice person at the desk. It was small. We got to our room and I thought there were wet towels under the bed. The smell was very musty. So I went to the front desk and told the person about the odor. She was very nice and got us something to help purify the air. We'll that may have worked except it came from a from where someone had smoked. So now I had a smoky musty smelling room. Before anyone jumps on me about the smoke smell it probably would not have bothered me if it didn't have the musty smell added to it. Anyways I ran to the store got some air fresheners left for a little bit and came back. The smell was more like air fresheners and very little musty and smoky smell. It was tolerable. We slept and woke up to check the breakfast off. It wasn't bad. Just very crowded. The location was close to the beach. We only stayed one night but I wouldn't stay here again.

    3
« Loud, Smelly Room, but convenient »

The room was very expensive for the quality. The room smelled like marijuana and was very loud. We could hear all of the street traffic and elevator traffic and we could smell the breakfast and hear the people below in the lobby. The curtains had holes in them - we weren't 100% that the room was clean. It was convenient to the beach and TPC (our destination), the parking was easy, the staff were friendly.

    5
    « Mini Vacation »

The bed was extremely comfortable, room was clean, and despite the location (on the boardwalk) it was quiet. The front desk staff were very accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is close to most everything, within walking distance.

« It was right on the beach and very quiet »

The hotel was Full yet very quiet and the balcony was awesome. Right by the pier and everything close by. Parking was great on the property. We slept very well and the breakfast was okay, liked the cookies all day

we went there to get away for a little bet nice room great view of the ocean the only minus was the pool very small but you do have a big ocean if you really want to swim also very good peel and shrimp places to eat

    « Nice Location »

The building is starting to show it's age but you can't beat it's location. It's right on the boardwalk and you can walk to many great bars and restaurants. We had a wonderful view of the ocean and boardwalk. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

« Great place to stay. Highly recommend »

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great with lots of options. The room was beautiful and very clean. We had an ocean balcony view and it was so nice to sit out on. The room had very nice amenities. Luxury at a mid level price. Would highly recommend staying there. Convenient walk to stores/souvenir shops/restaurants. We were right on the beach so we got to watch a beautiful sunrise. Also very close to the pier. The beach was family friendly. I couldn't say enough good things about this hotel.

    « A great place to stay! »

I travel to this area regularly for work and have always found this hotel and it's location to be very satisfying. The hotel staff are always very kind and courteous. The location is walking distance to a number great restaurants and drinking establishments as well as being located right on the beach. Very often there are art shows or car shows right outside the hotel area. I always recommend it to anyone who is going to be in the area. Overall it's a great place to stay!

« Good value, family friendly »

This hotel was a very good value for the money. It is oceanfront, of course, which was the main attraction for us. This is a family friendly hotel, so if you don't want to deal with children at breakfast, you may want to look elsewhere. All of the children we saw were well behaved. There was plenty to eat at breakfast - make your own waffles, bagels and pre-wrapped pastries, eggs, bacon or sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal packets, milk, juice, coffee and tea, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. The furniture was a little worn and looked like someone had possibly spilled breakfast on one of the chairs, but it was all clean. The biggest drawback was that we booked late so we had a corner room in the front of the hotel. There is a bar next door and a bar across the street. They were very noisy well into the night and we were woken up at 2am by the sound of someone revving up a motorcycle. If you can, get an ocean-view balcony room. If not, go for the city-view balcony rooms, they are on the opposite side from the bar, overlooking a gift shop which is closed at night.

    « My stay »

Everything was great! Maia the employee that checked me in was awesome! I simply inquired about the ocean front rooms, letting her know that I didn't see them when I made the reservation. She checked prior to my check in and found one for one of my two nights, telling me that if a second night came available, she would let me know. Within 1 hour she informed me that I could stay in the room for a second night! No fee to upgrade! I will be coming back! :)

    « Beach front hotel »

Very nice hotel on the beach, great location, many bars and restaurants nearby. Sometimes loud guests in the hallways and/or nearby rooms. Front desk very helpful in restaurant recommendations. Parking was a little tight for larger cars but acceptable. Boardwalk over the dunes to the beach was directly behind hotel.

    « A night for leisure »

The staff was pleasant, the room was clean. I noticed some mold starting to form from moisture in the small fridge. No biggie. I stayed on the third floor. The ice machine was down and so were the laundry facilities. I loved the parking in the shade of the hotel garage and stair access that lets you out at the gate to access the beach. There were many restaurants or bars to choose from with music as well.

    « Good oceanfront location »

Stopped for a one night stay and found the hotel to be comfortable and reasonably priced for an ocean front hotel. Rooms were large with satellite TV and free wi-fi. The breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

« Great location, helpful staff, good value »

This hotel is excellent value for the price charged. It is literally right on the beach on one side, and faces a very walkable retail street with lots of nightlife on the other side. It has its own pool, and a gate that leads out of its (free) parking lot onto the boardwalk and the beach. Staff is very attentive, and breakfast is good.

« Outstanding location, great value, helpful staff. »

This property is right on the beach. You open a gate of the car park, and go directly onto the boardwalk, and the beautiful sand beach is at your feet. The hotel is very well appointed as well as well-located, and the staff are very accommodating. Price-wise, it is very good value, and there are lots of nightlife amenities within WALKING distance, obviating the need to go out in a car.

« One night beach stay »

This motel was a pleasant surprise for the price. Nice clean room and friendly staff. I would recommend it and, will stay there in the future. Free wi-fi was easy and reliable. I booked this room through AA and was glad I did.

    « Great Getaway »

This is my 5th time staying at this hotel. It has gotten better every time I have went. The new lobby is great. The breakfast is phenomenal. Also the ocean view rooms are amazing. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Staff is amazing as well.

    « Great Stay »

We book the Best Western Oceanfront for a one night stay on our way to Orlando. It is a very nice hotel and served our purposes well. We got in around 7 p.m. and checked in with no problem. Our room had two beds for the four of us (two adults, two kids) and they were the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. The hotel is right on the beach and a very short walk to the Jacksonville Beach pier and various restaurants. The area also has numerous bars in the area for the adult crowd. Hotel staff were wonderful and the included breakfast in the morning was good with several choices. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

« Fine place to stay for Springing the Blues Festival »

I find this hotel a good place to stay for this fest. Within walking distance, but a little costly. The staff is terrific, and the rooms are very nice. They told me I need 200 letters so i'm writing more unnecessary words for your pleasure. We return to this hotel every year for the festival. I hope that's enought letters for this survey.

    « Love this place! »

We have been staying at the JAX Beach Best Western for years. We love this hotel, we stay on our Anniversary, Birthdays and special events at the Beach. We only live in town and this Hotel makes for a great "stay vacation". Breakfast this morning was awesome! The renovations make it even better! Great job on the renovations and keep up the good work. We'll see you soon!

« No Bells and whistes »

Compared to other hotels in the area (price-wise) I had low expectations for the hotel but it well exceeded them. Hotel was very clean, and everything worked well. Not very tall, limiting the view of the ocean or the city. Also, walls are a little thin but not terribly. Nothing exciting in the terms of amenities but overall a very nice hotel. Would return.

    « Wonderful anniversary stay »

We stayed two nights in an oceanview room with a balcony. Well work the money. AS we are from Kansas the first night we slept with the balcony door open to hear the waves, but ended up shutting as it sounded too close to the wind we have in Kansas. Staff was excellent, location was in perfect walking distance to beach, restaurants and touristy shopping.

« Wealthy Teenagers Would Love This Best Western For Spring Break »

Fantastic place for Spring Break. Wealthy teenagers will love this Best Western. The Oceanview rooms have tiny, but very nice balconies for two. I would stay here again. The soundproofing is particularly poor quality, but if you are a teenager partying all night and sleeping on the beach all day, interrupted sleep should not be a problem. If a fellow guest slams a door, the walls shake! There's a lot of noise from the open air restaurants adjacent, much screaming, dog howling etc. Superb view if you pay for the oceanview rooms. Fridge works well, coffee maker functions and is a typical Best Western model (one paper cup at a time), but it is in a very gloomy corner with no light. Microwave is on its own shelf (an upgrade over sitting on top of the fridge) but the plate does not rotate as described, so food cooks unevenly unless one takes affirmative steps to stop the cycle and manually turn the plate. As I lie in bed trying to sleep in room 223, I can hear in graphic detail the urine stream of a guest in a neighboring room... In the night, someone dropped their Ben Wei balls on the floor above mine (I am guessing what kind of metallic balls would fall to the floor in the night and roll around) at 2 am. At 6 am, my fire alarm started chirping. I assume it was a dying battery, because I wasn't emitting smoke. I had to leave the room, the manager changed the battery within the hour, but it started chirping again, so maintenance had to replace it altogether. I think my hearing is permanently damaged. However, that was only one of the 4 nights. Another night, someone's dog started howling. Other nights were better. I particularly appreciated the ominous presence of a plunger in the bathroom. That was very thoughtful of management! The toilets are great for seniors. The water level is low in the bowl, and the seat is reasonably high. The trick to a good flush is to hold down the handle until all is well. The plunger isn't necessary. The bath isn't really a bath. The plug is rigged so that water drains immediately. On the other hand, the shower head is a big, luxury rainwater type shower. They have aloe vera dispensers on the shower wall so one cannot steal the shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer. Wise! Internet went out and was serviced, so there was no internet for a morning. As I recall, their internet password was better than most. Management provides a safe and recommends that one uses it. The safe is on the tiled floor adjacent to the bathroom, and one has to lie on one's belly with a magnifying glass to read the instructions. This may be fine for an athletic teenager. It's not so great for seniors with bad knees. For those who can manage most of the above, the instructions are: enter your favorite 4 to 6 number PIN and add # (the hash sign). I tried 8 then 9 without luck before realizing the symbol was the hash tag. After that, it all worked well. Then the thing will lock, and it is big enough for many portable computers... an airmac and a handbag, anyway. The sliding french doors have a murphy bar for added security. That's a plus. Presumably, a nefarious guest could balcony hop. Seniors might prefer the Four Points Sheraton up the street. The breakfast is excellent and the breakfast room is well designed to make maximum use of the space. Part of a decorative column (holding the big TV) disappeared during the night. All day coffee is plentiful and free. Parking is excellent, right below the hotel, which is on stilts. The Parking area is well maintained and monitored by friendly janitors. I'd stay there again (but would take headphones).

« Musty and in need of an overhaul, staff and structure »

Initially the staff was friendly and the room was ready upon arrival. The room was warm and had a slight musty odor, so we turned down the AC and unpacked before heading out for the evening. When we returned the room had cooled down, not cold, but cooler however the musty scent had become worse. It was late so we went to bed. By morning the smell was worse and unbearable, so I told the front desk. They told me all the rooms stunk like that because they were near the ocean. Really? We too live in Florida and know musty comes from dampness. So they said they would put a dehumidifier in the room and that would help. We returned later in the day and the odor had vanished, as well as my wife's cell phone. I informed the front desk and asked them to check the security tapes as there was a camera near our door. They said they would check and call me. No call. I check in with them again and they said they looked but didn't see anyone, but were still looking. No call. I checked again. They said no one came or went from the room between our departure and return. I asked then who put a dehumidifier in the room while we were away. She paused and looked surprised, then nodded. That was bull! She never even looked, didn't care, no apologies, not even surprised. We have never been robbed in a hotel before, but will be sure to never stay in a Best Western again and never recommend this property. I could go on and on about the dingy surfaces, cracked walls and the such, but that paled in comparison to the staff. At breakfast the first morning everyone could hear the morning staff complaining about the night staff with open profanity.

The trip was a very good trip and hopefully in the future I can find another Best Western as good as the one in Jackson. The beach is so very close to the hotel and that really worked for me. I will be back with my family really soon

« Best Best Western Ever »

I'm not big on Jacksonville, however, this Best Western rang all the bells and my room entertained me on the balcony to some of the most sumptuous sunrises ever! The room was spotless and the hotel itself is beautifully appointed to make your stay exceptional. Oh and the breakfast was not just continental it was a full blown breakfast

    « Affordable Oceanfront »

I wanted to stay at an oceanfront hotel without spending an obscene amount of money. Considering that I had chosen a less pricey place, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I ended up being delighted with our stay here. The hotel itself is bright, cheery, and well-decorated. The attendants were all very personable and helpful. We had a balcony room that overlooked the town side of the hotel. The balconies of the rooms were very close to one another and not really private, but it was still nice having one. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable. I was able to hear my neighbors' conversations when we were both in our bathrooms at the same time, but other than that noise was not a problem. The breakfast was wonderful, so wonderful that the breakfast area was uncomfortably crowded with many other guests. But the food was still good (hot breakfast: eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits/gravy, pancakes, French toast - yum!). My daughter and I both loved our stay and would love to come back if there were ever the opportunity.

    « Spring Break Destination »

Me and my buddies stayed here for spring break. Prime location on the beach with a great view. Was within walking distance to every restaurant and bar. Facility was clean and well kept. Spacious rooms with all the amenities you could desire. Complimentary breakfast to get your day started. Amelia at the front desk gave great customer service and was always welcoming to my group of friends. Definitely recommend for any type of vacation.

    « Nice Beach Access »

We stayed here for 5 nights while visiting our daughter in Jacksonville. It was a nice place, right on the beach, clean room and close to lots of things to do. Breakfast was always plentiful and hot. Every breakfast had either bacon or sausage. There is a pool but we were there for the beach and didn't use it at all. The restaurant on the north side can be a bit noisy. Parking is free and under the hotel. The only complaints are 1) the remodeling of the lobby/breakfast area. it is already tight and the bench along one wall isn't complete yet. That makes it difficult around the island where the cooler with the yogurt and butter are kept. Once they get it completed, I think it will be much better. The second problem is the wifi where you have to constantly have to enter the code on a web page on a captive portal page. It was a short code and easily memorized but it meant I had to do it every time we came back on the property with our phones. Overall, not a bad stay and a great location.

« Great Staff, Great Beach »

This hotel surprised me. The property was nice and clean and the staff was really nice. Access to the beach was perfect and you can walk to almost everything you need. The beach landscape was perfect for little kids who like to run on the beach without being too close to the waves but still being able to get their feet wet.

    « Vacation »

We were looking for a quick getaway from cold nh, we decided on Jax beach!!! Couldn't be happier, smooth flight to Jacksonville airport, rented a car and straight to the hotel! Perfect location, you can walk to many restaurants and little stores, clean beach with lots of college breakers having fun playing volleyball .... It wasn't crowded at all, plenty of room for everyone. The hotel offers a great breakfast with something for everyone! The front desk girls are all really nice! We got an oceanfront room and couldn't be happier!!! The sound of the ocean crashing= heaven. There's fun bars nearby but they were quiet fairly early. We love the area, lots of pastel houses that felt like Bermuda and fabulous architecture on the high rises. Very safe and friendly neighborhood... All in all very happy!!!

Arrived March 1st...greeted in our Oceanview room number 226 by a cockroach and a palmetto bug...called front desk...nothing they could do! Pros-right on a very scenic beach...eat at Zetas Brewpub! Five o'clock homemade cookies! Cons-Bugs, very loud a/c, very tiny parking spaces, tiny continental breakfast area, dryer broke, strange unsecurable bathroom doors, strong odor from room carpeting, very erratic wifi.... For a newly renovated property at such an expensive price, recommend looking elsewhere! Bo K Lansing, Mi

« Oue first visit to Jax Beach enhanced by stay at Best Western OF »

We were two couples who had never been to Jax Beach but decided to try it as a place to stay on our trek back from southern Florida to Virginia. It was a great stop--and the Best Western was an integral part of "great". We were greeted by a very gregarious desk clerk named Jaime who made us feel incredibly welcome--as did the entire staff there. Talk about southern hospitality! The hotel is right on the ocean and boardwalk and walkable to many bars, restaurants, and shops. Rooms are large and well appointed with all the comforts of home, including Direct TV! A nice breakfast was served up in the morning. The property is undergoing a renovation and is looking great so far. This is a real find. Stay here and say hello to Jaime. You will like everything about it.

    « Nice Hotel »

This Best Western Hotel is located on the Atlantic ocean. At check in we were offered an upgrade to an ocean front room since we were a Best Western Rewards member. The Room was clean and comfortable with a refrigerator and microwave. The front lobby is in the process of being updated so that will be a nice improvement shortly. This Best Western Hotel is close to many shops and restaurants. The gal at the front desk help us with finding a restaurant within walking distance We were there for an overnight stay so did not get to enjoy the beach that was VERY close by. There was plenty of free parking in a covered garage right next to the hotel and it was very convenient for us to unload our luggage.

I was pleased with the staff and the way they went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. I do want to suggest Robes as well as beach towels at the Jacksonville Beach, FL. location. I stayed for business, but I would suggest anyone who is going to Jacksonville Beach, FL for vacation or maybe just a weekend getaway, to stay at this location because it is walking distance to everything and it is a wonderful experience to fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

Small but excellent hotel. 20% off for Mayo patients. Staff, room, internet, location, and shuttle back and forth to Mayo are excellent. Shuttle drivers, Dill and Sonny went out of their way to help out before and after surgery. Beach, restaurants, Walgreen's, JAX Pier right next door. Staff just plain sweet and fun and very accommodating.

    « This hotel sucked »

Laundry out of order, room was dirty, no fresh sheets, construction closed most of lobby and all of breakfast area. We only stayed overnight and began our escape from this hellhole. We found relief a bock away at the Four Points by Sheraton. They treated us the way a fine hotel hold treat its guests for less than if we ad stayed more nights at the Best Western.

« Nice Location, Small rooms »

The hotel is under renovation so lobby was empty but you can see the potential after renovations. Hotel location is perfect balcony view is a beautiful oceanfront. Rooms are small and breakfast lacks quality but hopefully this will change after the renovations are complete. Staff was friendly, helpful and professional.

All though this hotel is not the largest on the street it is on the beach and it is a nice place to stay in. The lobby was under construction we had no problems checking in and going to our room. The parking is outdoor but it is under the cover of the building.

    « Nice weekend »

Was in the area and priced several hotels. It was Valentines weekend and a marathon was going on on Sunday. The lobby is being renovated. Breakfast was on the 2nd floor. That was nice for us because we did not have far to go. Rooms have been updated and were nice. Bathroom is small but nice. Internet connection would not work on our phones. Overall very satisfied with our stay.

If you have sick children - asthma in particular, don't stay here! It set my asthma off due to it's old and must smell. They clearly have an issue with old appliances and old rugs, which need to be replaced. The room was small and the TV was smaller , and old, of course.

    « Enjoyed our stay »

The hotel was under construction but our stay was great. The room was perfect!! Comfy thick bed, with 6 huge pillows, room was clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was great, bacon, sausage, gravy, boiled eggs, cereal, bagels, waffles, fresh fruit etc... Can use amenities at another close hotel, the staff was great (except the manager, she acted miserable our entire stay, she never smiled, and was short and cold, not only to the guest but to her staff). One of the staff members went out of her way for us. Her name was Moriah. Super friendly and very knowledgeable/helpful. This is a great place. I will def visit Jacksonville beach and stay at this best western again.

« They treat you like family and good value for your money »

I have stayed at this Best Western several times for business and travel in the past couple of years. The entire staff is amazing and are very helpful with whatever you need. Indeed if you end up staying there often they even treat you a little bit like family. They always offer cookies in the afternoon and breakfast in the morning. They are even in the middle of a remodel yet all the service was still amazing. I always recommend people to stay here.

    « Good Staff »

Great staff, everybody greeted me with a smile and a friendly welcome everyday, Location is great right on the Jackson ville boardwalk, Lounge was under construction and remodeling. cons: breakfast a bit lower than I've seen in others, ok but didn't have any eggs and hash browns to go with the sausage and bacon. Other than that everything was good.

    « Extremely clean & convenienct »

    « Convenient beach location. »

We stayed here for two nights before taking a New Years cruise from Jaxport on the Fascination. Very convenient location for beach, local dining, Walgreen's, and beach shopping. Plenty of dining options in the immediate area. All within walking distance from hotel. Lot's of people jogging, skate boarding, and bicycling in the area during the day. The hotel is an older place, but they are doing some upgrades or remodeling at the time of our visit. Parking is limited. One fellow with a taller 4x4 truck could not get under the overhead structures as parking is underneath the hotel for the most part. Rooms were neat and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. I give three stars because it just is not a five star hotel. It is a nice place to stay.

« Good Beach Location with Average Amenities »

Pool, horrible. Forget it. Beach and night life location Very Good. Nice staff, comfortable bed with reasonable amenities. Hotel is being refurbished Dec 2015. So, there should be some improvement. But if this is about location, the hotel is already good enough.

« Comfort in the Midst of things »

This small property is oceanfront and right in the middle of Jax Beach main entertainment area.. Shops & resturants & sports bars etc. are all walking steps away. Afew shops away from Bandshell, and main festival grounds.Beach access right out the gate & short catwalk. Nice wide beach ; walk, sports, surf bike ride, sun, sharks teeth. Ocean frt room (2 queens), mini fridge, micro, ect.; balcony was small, alittle closed in, but still great views, breezes & sounds. Newly remodeled , nice colors & bedding, memory foam mattresses were wonderful! Slept with sliding glass doors open all nite. Groundfloor is parking, so all oceanfrt rooms are on 2nd or 3rd floor. Staff were friendly and helpful. Jamie the mgr. was spot on & sincerely friendly. Nice comp breakfast, with hot items. Lobby under total remodel, but we were never inconvienced, or heard any construction noises.

« Give and Take (I Still Have the Rash) »

My time at Best Western Oceanfront can only be described as a series of "Give and Take." Give: The beds were incredibly comfortable, you sink into them like an injured lion in a pool of quicksand. Take: As soon as you walk into the door you are slammed with a stench so foul and disgusting that it is difficult to cling onto consciousness. It should be noted that I asked the front desk about the horrible smell, hopeful for a room switch, or even some perfumes, and they assured me that it was only the ocean breeze. Now, I love the smell of the ocean. Smooth, salty and relaxing, I would be pleased to stay in a room with this odor. But the smell in this room smelled absolutely nothing like the ocean. It smelled like death, rotting corpses, and pain and suffering. It was absolutely disgusting. I tried to resolve the problem by purchasing a can of Febreeze at a nearby convenience store but even that did little to mask to god-awful stench. Another Give: The TV had over 9,000 channels, so there was no shortage of entertainment. Take: It was sweltering hot, and this problem could only be fixed by turning on the air conditioning, which produced a sound much like that of 20,000 airplanes taking flight or Pangea breaking apart. The only up-side of the terrible sound, I suppose, is that if one were able to sleep with the horrendous noise, it would mask the loud jeers and yelps of drunkards at the pub next door. Give: The location was lovely, right next to the beach. Take: The scuttling of cockroaches on the floor, one of which I named Jim and trapped under a small trashcan (he barely fit.) I tried to dispose of Jim by setting him free upon the window ledge, but I soon discovered that the windows, much like that of a prison cell, were small and permanently glued shut. I was forced to carry Jim through the hallway, down the elevator, and to the front door where I set him free. It was a real shame the windows didn't open, because I was planning on cracking them a bit to help air out the horrible smell. Speaking of windows... Give: I did have, as promised on the website, a view. Take: That view was of the parking lot. Give: There was also a pool. Take: Don't believe the wide-lens photographs on the website, it is a kiddie pool. Give: the room was pleasantly spacious. Take: It's stench gave my mother an asthma attack. This would not be so concerning except that my mother is not, in fact, asthmatic. Overall, despite some positive attributes, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values their own well-being in even the slightest. I would not recommend Oceanfront to my worst enemy.

I found this to be one of the Best 'Best Western's' that I have ever visited. The lobby was under construction but it will probably be even nicer once the work is completed. All I can say is I hope there is no charge for leaving at 530am without checking out at the front desk. I was unaware that I had to check out. Never do at any other hotels either.

« Big nice rooms with ocean view, friendly staff, best location »

The rooms are big and comfortable. I have stayed here a few times and I booked rooms with ocean view each time. They are the best. Each room has even a private balcony, with a table and chairs. It's beautiful to drink the morning coffee looking at the ocean and feeling the wind. The staff of the hotel is super-friendly and helpful. Tammy and Moriah made my stay unforgettable, the nicest and most helpful people I've ever met in Jacksonville. The hotel's location is the best in Jacksonville beach, right in the center and also on the beach, with lots of cafes and restaurants and pubs around. I highly recommend it to everybody.

    « Not a bad stay »

My daughter and I recently stayed here. The hotel was under renovation; the number of workers wandering thru the property was a bit troublesome. However, that was the only disconcerting thing about this hotel. The front desk staff were very nice, and the hotel always had plenty of hot water no matter what time or how long the shower lasted. The room was very large and the rooms were quiet.

« Great room, clean comfy bed; great continental breakfast; steps from Ocean »

This hotel does have some construction happening in the lobby. During my stay, however, I was not inconvenienced during check-in, during my handful of trips from the room to the area shops and restaurants, nor during my sleep. I heard nothing from the construction during my stay. I will tell you what I did experience. The room was clean, without a mildew/musty smell as described in other posts. We didn't get an ocean view balcony, but from our poolside balcony, a portion of the ocean was visible. Very comfy beds, a great cont'l breakfast and an outside pool gave my daughter and I everything we were hoping for throughout our stay. We were there on a Saturday night, and didn't hear any loud party people in the halls. Having a handful of restaurants merely just steps away was great, and the beach access was very convenient as well. Next time we are in Jax Beach, this will be the hotel we will come back to.

    « Needs better management/supervision »

The 1 st thing we noticed upon entering our room was the smell. It smelled musty/moldy. The 2nd thing was the mold in the shower. If you have allergies or breathing difficulties stay somewhere else. There is also construction going on in the lobby which no one informed us about and the continental breakfast is now on the 2nd floor in an emptied out hotel room. And yet they're still charging full price for the rooms with no discounts. This hotel is also located in a party section of Jacksonville Beach so if you're there for a quiet, relaxing vacation, expect a lot of road/foot traffic and being able to hear drunk revelers through the night and yes, even in the hotel hallways. They do have a small coffee station set up less than 3 feet from the check in desk. Made the mistake of stopping there and accidentally leaving our Garmin and ipod either there or in the room and both went missing but no one saw anything. Apparently this....valuables going missing...is an issue there. Unfortunately, we didn't read previous guest reviews about this until after our booking and stay. We will never book here again. As a matter of fact, we most likely won't book with any Best Western due to this experience.

    « Hotel under construction »

Hotel is dated and many of the rooms smell moldy. The lobby is currently under construction. The location of the hotel is the only positive at this time. This hotel could really be awesome if Best Western would choose to completely remodel all of the rooms. We noted a lot of paint on the ceiling and walls that seem to be covering/hiding mold.

« Great view on the beach side! »

Stayed there in December booked the oceanfront room. The hotel is going through a renovation so, there was a lot of construction going on. The balcony was kinda small but the view was worth it. There were a lot of restaurants and bars close by within walking distance.

« Last choice on beach »

This hotel is a 70's Motel. Needs total refurb and is under construction and no one told us when booking. Breakfast is pretty miserable. Room had good bed but the rest was pretty run down. Window looks out on the wall of place adjacent to it.

    « Bar Walk-A-Bout »

There are lots of bars and restaurants in the area of the hotel. Since we did not have beach weather, my son and I went on a "bar walk-a-bout" and had drinks in numerous bars all within a short walking distance from the hotel - fun times!

    « Great stay »

Very pleasant staff, the breakfast was satisfying and the location to beach was very nice. Internet was fine and the surrounding area provided easy access to activities and special events going on in area.

« Good Location, Old Tired Room »

I chose it for the location, can't beat the location, but the whole hotel needs to be renovated. They were renovating the front area, but the rooms need to be done, the are old and tired and smell. I can't remember if I checked to see what the rating was on this hotel, I though I had stayed here before. Paid for the balcony oceanfront room and was just disappointed, it smelled and was very humid in the room.

« Great place Great people »

I stayed here for Halloween. It was also Florida vs Georgia weekend. This is the place to be if you want to be where the fun is at. You just have to park and walk( or crawl) to where everever your heart desires.. from resturants to pubs live music and of coarse the sandy beaches. I tip my hat to all the great staff that works hard to give you the best stay you could wish for!

« Always happy staying here when in Jacksonville! »

Great walking distance to eating, nail salons, coffee shops, bike rentals, beach, pier, live music and shops! Easy in and out access to the hotel. Nicely patrolled by bike police making us feel safer.

    « So Friendly »

The staff was awesome from the time you walked in to the time we left, even when we would go out and come back in they wanted to know if there was anything they could do for us. The breakfast was great compared to other places we stayed the selection was great and in the afternoon they baked cookies, nothing like fresh warm cookies after a stroll on the beach.

« Great Location for a Brief Vacation »

We just got back from a busy trip which included a few nights at Jacksonville Beach. This was a bit last minute and decided to stay at a hotel on the beach. A couple hotels had rooms with double beds but this hotel had the King. This was a very comfortable bed. At first, we were given a room right next to the elevator and when we objected due to the noise, they quickly and positively changed our room and upgraded us. While the rooms were a bit dated, the bed was comfortable, the shower nice and the room was fine. A local festival for Oktoberfest was going on a block away and the restaurants and beach area was very active. The location in the middle of all this was great, the price was good and the service was very good. Even the breakfast in the morning was very nice. Enjoyed it.

« A+ for walking to night life & weekend activity; A+ proximity to beach A+ bed comfort.....otherwise not so much »

Another property available a block off the beach for the same price is more quiet, laid back, better breakfast, more low key for families and older couples desiring quiet over night-life. Best Western beds were VERY comfy, RIGHT on the beach, lots to do within SHORT walking distance. That said, the property is showing signs of age (bathrooms). The room smelled a bit musty, but the linens and bed smelled clean, were VERY comfy, and THAT is important for us. Might stay again, might not.

« Pre vacation before Disney »

We stayed here two nights from NC before heading out for our week long Disney vacation. The air in the room didn't quite get cool enough even with it set on 65, however that could be because of the beach and Florida humidity. There were two things I did have issues with. 1. Our fridge had mold all in it and 2. the shower curtain in the bathroom had mildew all over it. Staff was friendly and the location was great

    « Beautiful View »

Very clean room. The linens were spotless and the bed was heavenly. The Wife was really wanting to bring it home, really. The ocean view was glorious and uninhibited. The waves crashing and surfers riding those waves provided an ambience that was wonderful and relaxing. The Balcony was of adequate size for 2 adults and the Room did not have any foul odors at all.

    « Great Beach Value »

The location could not be any better, the view was superb. Perfect for exercise, walking, proximity to other amenities, as well as wonderful food selections. They even had a new Health Store and bakery open up a few blocks from them. Awesome time! Loved the stay!

    « Jacksonville lay-over »

Picked this hotel on line so really did not know exactly where it was located. Got there very early (12 noon), and room were not ready. Friendly front desk clerk told us to come back around 2 PM but we were welcome to park there and use the ocean and pool. Got a room on the 3rd floor, clean, small refrigerator, micro wave, coffee pot and well stocked. I will say whoever painted the room did not do a good job and our view was of another hotel, but we were there for one night leaving early the next morning. Walking distance to several clubs and restaurants. Right on the ocean.

    « NEVER AGAIN »

my family stayed here last week. the rooms were okay and the location was good but the staff at this hotel is appauling. what kind of place allows their employees to curse at you over and over for just asking for a cot that we had paid for but hadnt been brought to the room! I wish I would have gotten this overnight persons name because corporate would have been my first stop. just take my advice and stay far far FAR away from best western oceanfront.

group of 20 stayed at this hotel prior to cruise. Beautiful hotel clean, and excellent service front desk was great. Beach right out the back door. Bars and restaurants all with in walking distance. Walgreens a few blocks away shops up and down the street. Great place to stay prior to cruising out of port Jacksonville.
