    « Decent stay »

Stopped here for the night before Thanksgiving as the traffic was horrendous. The desk person was friendly and helpful. No reservations, but we got a room that was a typical hotel room. I think the linens could have smelled fresher, but they were clean. The desk person told us a good place to eat and he was spot on with that recommendation. Breakfast was ok. The breakfast hostess, however, was the most unfriendly person I'd seen in a hotel in ages. No interaction with guests unless they asked her a question, to which she gave a very short, one word answer without any smile whatsoever. The breakfast itself was 'eh.' Nothing spectacular. Overall, a decent stay.

« Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff »

We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly. Usually pet friendly hotels are not the best but this one was very clean, the beds were super comfy and the staff was very friendly. We would certainly stay here again if we are ever in the Fredericksburg area again.

« Don't eat the eggs or hot breaksfast! »

Staff was excellent except for breakfast staff. Food gets to you in a few hours. This has happened three stays with them this year. Never again!! Rooms are good and price was good. Location was excellent to highway.

    « Good value »

Hotel was clean & perfect for us since we have a little dog. Good value for the $. Would stay again. Breakfast was good. Nothing fancy but a good place to stay. Very close to stores & restaurants. Give it a try.

    « Best stay »

Great place to stay. I will not go anywhere else. Good breakfast not just donuts and coffee. You can make your own waffles too. But bring your own coffee unless prefer it really strong. Rooms are beautiful and very clean. Bed sleeps wonderful.

« One of the nicest »

Beautifully laid out, so we felt safe. Lobby was exquisite and decorated for Thanksgiving. Staff very friendly and helpful. Everything we needed and very clean. Stoney's next door was convenient and excellent also for dinner.

« New Place to Stay »

It has beds and they're horizontal. New place, still being worked on. Square over-fluffy pillows. Pleasant staff. Breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage, waffles, cereal (you know the drill). Parking is awkward, not as convenient as it should be. Next door to Shoney's.

« So sorry to be disappoined »

Was hoping for the best from this BW for our 10 day stay. Unfortunately, our room was not in thebestof shape. there was fraying on the carpet going into the bathroom and a hole in the carpet under the sink. The water coming out of the faucet on the tub was initially yellow every day, but cleared up after running a short while. May be rust inthe pipes. Air conditioner was clanking and not very effective. The breakfast food was often overcooked. But we might have been OK with all of that if only the staff had been more friendly--which we have come to expect at the BW we stay at. But not so. the weekday breakfast room person never said hello, smiled, or offered to help anyone. Desk staff sometimes said a brief hello but not always even that. I am disappointed as this is a perfect location from our visits to Fredericksburg.

    « Pet friendly »

We were going to be in Fredericksburg for only one night and needed a pet-friendly motel. I also had earned enough points with best western for a $50 discount so this motel was an easy choice. I requested and received a first floor room. We were glad that our room was on the back side of the building since we could just cross the parking area to find a spot to walk the dogs. We were also glad for the laminate wood flooring in the room. Our dogs are well-behaved but this was added peace of mind in case they had an accident. The room was clean and adequate with a fridge and microwave but the chairs at the table were a little wobbly. Free breakfast had plenty of choices. Staff was friendly. If in the area again, we would likely stay here again.

    3
    « Just OK »

The location of this hotel and its pool are the highlights. Near lots of shopping. Breakfast was included but the sitting area was quite small. The carpet in our room was damp and felt dirty and the room can use a little updating.

    « cold floor »

Why does a motel have coldlinoleum floors in it? IS it because the think linoleum isnowan in product for a motel room floor? THe floor was cold all the time regardless of heat in the room. I think they just don'tcare about customers

    5
    « Business Stay »

Rooms are very cleaned, bathroom a bit small, bed pretty comfortable, staff very nice and helpful, hot and cold breakfast very good and the eating area very clean. For the price, friendly staff, clean rooms and hot breakfast, this is a great place to stay during your travels.

    4
« Nice place to stay »

Hotel very welcoming, nice lobby, very good breakfast. Many places of parking. Nice pool. The room was on motel style, but very clean. Close to à Mail with many restaurants and stores and grocery. Good place to stay.

    5
    « Family Friendly »

We were in town visiting friends, and brought along my 2 yr and 4 yr olds. I was worried at first that it would be noisy due to the fact that the BW was located in a shopping strip parking lot, but to my relief, the buildings are further back, private and quiet. The room was a great size for 2 adults and 2 children, and we were located right in the center for shopping and dining. Breakfast was great, a good variety. We plan to use this BW again when we go back for another visit.

    5
    « Weekend racing »

Very nice, clean and friendly hotel and staff. Location is great for shopping and fair grounds. Wide variety at breakfast, well stocked and fresh. I will in the future look at stairs/elevator availability.

    3
    « Just ok »

A little weird seems more like a motel. Luckily we were on the second floor. There was nothing terribly wrong with the room, it was just ok. Next time I would try and stay in Fredericksburg and spend a little extra as its a lovely town

    3
    « Older Best Western »

Don't know which motel others were staying at but the beds were tolerable at best , and the place was kind of run down - at least we did not see any bugs and the rooms were clean - breakfast was good and for once they did not have that usual motel breakfast patty sausage - they had bacon

« Almost Excellent just need to put finishing touches on »

This was a weekend getaway for the family as we love Fredericksburg. This is our home away from home. Would have bought a house out here but the travel to Reston for me and Tyson for my wife is a &itch so we have to settle for Best Western Weekend Getaway. Arrived on 9/10/16 a late was able to check in quickly. Room on the Second floor towards the woods back section. Once in the room it was a stale odor I had to turn on AC unit immediately. Well the room was presentable clean beds and linens, clean towels and the extra towels I requested online when booking the reservation were handed to me at the front desk immediately. The rug on the floor was in need of some shampooing ASAP. My family and I stayed in our shoes and sock the whole time. Went out for dinner and movie came back and smell in room finally gone. Sleeping was uncomfortable pillows ZERO support, bed not supportive of me and my wife our backs were hurting the next morning. Speaking of next morning. BREAKFAST YES YES YES YES YES when you have 2 young growing boys nothing like a free meal all they can eat to start my day. Plus save me a little money in my pocket. Breakfast very well done at this location compliments to the CHEF! After going back to room with breakfast and everyone taking a full bath or shower noticed that the water backs up when you are taking a shower doesn't take long before it knee high and takes forever to run out for the next person to get in. That was a little yeeeeeekicky to me. Other than that I like the location and I saw other rooms that had been renovated. I hope on my next visit in October the 29th to be exact that I get a renovated room and the results much better.

    « Great Location »

Best Western Hotel was clean and comfortable. They have a good hot breakfast and It is a short drive distance to the Fredericksburg Convention Center and the Central Park Shopping. It is walking distance to a Shoneys Restaurant and Kentucky Fried Chicken. The Golds Gym and McDonald are across the street They have a pool but I have never used it, my trip is always in late September to first part of October. This is my second year staying at this hotel and plan to return next year.

    « Good value »

Best bed ever! Everything worked - great water pressure in shower, too. Handicapped parking tight and not easy to access registration lobby. Great value, extremely well located to everything. Breakfast should be avoided but other options are nearby. Friendly staff.

    « Nice Hotel »

The Place was nice very busy part of town. Close to Interstate 95 Kinda hard to get in and out of parking lot. Very Hard Beds is only real complaint I had. Shoneys Restaurant At end of driveway and other fast food in walking distance.

« The New best pet friendly motel in Fredericksburg »

I used to stay at the Best Western Fredericksburg that WAS across I 95 from where this Best Western is located. But since they tore down the other B/W I decided to try this one. What a wonderful place. With many of the other B/W employees here, it felt like home. The renovation done in the last year has perked up the motel and it is a nice place to stay. Great beds, inviting breakfast and lots of parking. Stay here!

    4
« Great place to stay with a dog! »

Close to 95, Central Park Mall and lots of restaurants and fast food. Great if you have a dog! Nice safe neighborhood to take walks and a dog friendly staff. Good breakfast in the morning and only a $10 pet charge.

    5
« Last minute change of plans »

Clean, safe and reasonable rates . They accept large breed dogs and don't breed discriminate. All Linens were truly clean, complimentary breakfast included and a sunken do nights just across the parking lot . Staff is very friendly . Ample space to walk your pups - just be curious of neighboring homes

    5
    « Absolutely wonderful ... »

Supreme beds. Unparalleled cleanliness. Delightful breakfast. Beautiful gardens. This hotel is at least 35 years old, and with only modest, tasteful renovation, but that makes the rooms, even rooms with king beds, HUGE, compared to today's more recent builds. There is outstanding attention to maintenance, and preservation of a golden hospitality rarely found. It is obvious the owners care for one's comfort and convenience. The air conditioner was the quietest I have ever encountered in a hotel. Okay... if I must include criticism: the bathrooms, consistent with the period, are smaller than the wasteful mammoths you see today. But they are clean...clean...clean and updated accommodate today's larger girths. Just a wonderful, classic motel with convenient parking, and as said earlier, golden hospitality.

    3
    « Okay »

This is a clean safe old hotel. Has the slowest wifi speeds I have ever seen. Located close to restaurants, stores and Highway. The breakfast bar is not very good. But I'm picky about breakfast. I have seen better. The staff tries to help. Average hotel. Gave it 3 stars. It's quite.

    5
    « Great Looking Pool »

I wish we had had time to use the pool. It was in a lovely landscaped area with a wrought iron fence. Both days we noticed it was being cleaned. Plants and potted plants all over the facility. ...well maintained. Room had a large chair and ottoman, fridge, microwave, TV, not too small, good beds,... Friendly desk staff on the phone and in person. Attentive person in breakfast room. Centrally located for travelers.

    5
    « nice and clean »

enjoyed the pool and hot breakfast. the room was nice and clean which is a must. it was all that was advertized. we would certainly use this hotel again. if you want an honest reveiw you should take what people say and not make them try to make up stuff to get to a minimum of 200 characters

« Pet friendly made easy »

We've stayed here before and this time was once again a pleasant stay!! Easy reservation on web (including choosing a pet friendly room), easy check in, requested no service since my dog gets antsy, great breakfast buffet and then easy check out! Had a great long weekend. Stayed 3 nights. Quiet, clean, easy off major interstate. Highly recommend

    3
    « A bit disappointed... »

Stayed here for one night on our way back from SC because they had pet rooms and we had our dog with us. We made a reservation in advance. Our room was on the ground floor as requested. It was very small and the room smelled like wet dog and the only room they could put us in was on the 2nd floor and we had way too much stuff to more and didn't want to have to go up and down the stairs to take the dog out, so we toughed it out. My question is how could housekeeping NOT notice this and do something about it before putting people in it? I would not walk on it with bare feet. The rug needed to be steamed cleaned and should be after every pet, that's why we pay a pet fee. Also, there was only a very small pet area in the very back, not well maintained and there was no lights on at night, so it was impossible to see to even pick up after your pet. I did not feel safe walking in the dark. There were street lamps, but not one of them was on. In addition, a very large truck parked outside our room with the motor idling for nearly two hours after dark. We did report this and the owner turned it off after about 45 min. On a positive note, the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom very tiny, but clean, the pool and pool area were very clean and the breakfast was great! Just a bit disappointed over all, as it was just not up to par with the many other Best Westerns that we have stayed in.

« Nice staff, clean hotel »

This is a basic hotel configured old school style with room entry doors to the outside. Although the hotel is old itself, it has been refurbished although I'm not sure when. It was clean and neat although carpet in room was worn more than I prefer and did affect my cleanliness perception. Sorry...I guess I've gotten to be a bit of a snob. Breakfast was good and staff was courteous and on top of things.

    5
« Above average Stop over »

We stopped at the Best Western overnight on our way to the Outer Banks. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the Motel was clean, updated and friendly. We stayed on the pool side and, while slightly less convenient for unpacking the car, we had no traffic noise. Kids did play in the pool until 9:30 or so - but all was quiet throughout the night. As an extra bonus, our room featured a lovely bench outside our room where my husband could enjoy a cigar.

    « stay »

this stay is an average place to stay and I would return again...Felt the exterior in the pool and ice machine area could use a good sudsy mopping.....really not big at staying at places that allow dogs...I like dogs, but am not a dog lover...I was worried when after arriving a barking dog and it's owners checked in....thank goodness they were placed out of sight of where I was and I didn't have to hear any barking.....amen!!!

    « Good lodging »

Stayed one night while on history trip. Very good, clean accommodations near I-95; traffic on road (Rte 3) sometimes makes access challenging but traffic signal side road available. Friendly staff, usual functional services; microwave & refrigerator in room nice touch. Excellent wifi in room. Outside noise noticeable on ground floor room but quiet overnight; similarly, sounds from adjoining room noticeable but quieted for sleeping time. No closet, clothes rod at end of bathroom; retro heating lamp in toilet/shower area. AC worked great and outstanding selection of TV stations. Nice breakfast spread. Would stay again if in the area.

« Comfort and cleanliness plus! »

First, I see another review here that talks about powdered eggs. I was actually stunned to read this, since the eggs quite clearly were fresh, real, beautifully cooked and succulent. I presume at breakfast bars like this that I will endure (or usually pass up) eggs that could double as caulking in a pinch. Come to think of it, I think some places do use eggs to caulk in their awful renovations...but that is beside the point. The breakfast was truly a standout compared with other places: I'd be happy to be served it in a diner. Clearly, whoever cooked the day I was there knows his or her way around a kitchen and turned out really good eggs. And the coffee is unbelievable, the star of the fine breakfast. You're used to that sludgy chemical pool in your cup that comes out of a heated plastic bag in a machine. Vile, so I often bring my own good ground coffee and try to make it work with whatever tiny coffee machine they have in the room (messy, at best). Not needed here, since the coffee is fresh brewed with good beans--so grab the breakfast and save yourself seven or eight bucks a diner. Grab the coffee and save yourself a couple dollars a cup versus Starbucks. The hotel is unprepossessing from the exterior. It has a nice brick front building with the registration desk, but the other buildings sort of remind one of a motor court--not quite but almost. Before I checked in, I even drove around back to make sure it wasn't a welfare motel. And it's not, and far from it. The grounds are immaculate and so are the rooms, far above the usual. Beautifully clean, without the cloying damp smells, heavy perfumes, etc. one finds in a lot of hotels. I like house repair and building, so I can't stop myself from checking on how renovations are done. I look at things like tiling and grout, door casings, carpet installation, even crooked light switches (they're all over), This place was superb in all details I noticed. The staff--everyone from the manager, to the desk clerk, to the guy opening the pool, to the breakfast lady, to the cleaning people--were first rate: professional, friendly, really nice people. Oh, and the pool has a really deep end, which my daughter liked. I think it went to 8 feet. Bottom line: At first glance, aside from the brick front building, the hotel looks unimpressive. But look for what counts--quality in workmanship, cleaning, management--and you'll be more than pleased. Definitely not a resort, but a nice pool, a very nice breakfast room (with pretty cabinetry). And food far far above what you'll get in most stopover motels. And get the coffee. Definitely the best I have had in a roadside hotel, on a par with coffee shop coffee or what I brew for myself. Great place to spend a night.

    3
    « Adequate for a night. »

We stopped for the night on our way south. The front desk staff was pleasant during check in and recommended the restaurant on the property for dinner. We were placed in a room at the back of the hotel because we were traveling with a pet. The room was clean. We were told that breakfast started at 6 AM, which fit into our plans to hit the road early in the morning. We arrived in the breakfast room at 6:15 and none of the hot items were out yet. A few minutes later the powdered scrambled eggs were brought out and finally the omelettes, which were rubbery. Needless to say, we were disappointed with the food which was not up to the quality we have experienced at other Best Western properties.

« Stop over to and from Myrtle Beach »

If you are looking for a clean/safe/good value hotel for a quick stay, this is the place. We came down from CT. to Myrtle Beach and this was our stop over to and from S.C. for one night each way. The rooms are not fancy but clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is amazing! Also it starts at 6 am so you can get on the road early. This would cost you a good $12 plus if you had to pay for it. My wife loved making me waffles using their waffle maker. Also in the same parking lot is a Dunkin Donuts & Subway. You do not even have to go anywhere. But if you do there are many stores and places to eat within minutes of this hotel.

    5
« Going to and from Myrtle Beach from CT. »

This was a half way point for us traveling from CT. to Myrtle Beach and from Myrtle Beach to CT. Also for me the first time I ever drove to S.C. myself. My dad always did in the past. So for my wife and I an experience we will treasure. Stopping in Fredricksburg at the Best Western made us feel very comfortable and safe. We plan on going back to S.C. and will not even think of another place in VA. to stay. Thank you so much.

    « Partially Updated »

We stayed one night in July. Check in was quick and easy, the clerk was friendly and helpful. Our room, 114 ($95), faced the pool but was away from the street. Even though our room faced the pool we didn't hear any noise from the area. This hotel features rooms with exterior doors. The room was updated, clean and comfortable but the bathroom was a little outdated. The whole property appeared to be older but it too was clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable, so we had a great night's sleep.

    3
    « Me »

I was please with my stay the front desk stay was very helpful rooms were clean but the pool was nasty. It looked dirty and had yucky bugs floating in it.Although the did provide pool towels I still think some attention to the pool needed to be made.

« Excellent Deal for the Price! »

We had attaching rooms, both were clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable. The pool was refreshing. Breakfast was better than expected! They offered hot and cold items including eggs, french toast, fruit, and muffins. It was great! We only have two small complaints. The bathrooms felt a little cramped and there were not enough wall outlets.

« Great place to stay!! »

So far the friendliest in their welcoming us! We are traveling with 2 little dogs and Hal and we think Marjorie were great!! She gave us snacks and collapsible water bowls for our babies!! The room smelled great the carpets cleaned.. bathroom sparkled.. remote in bag sanitized! The housekeeking staff that cleaned the rooms and man that cleans each carpet in the rooms after people leave very nice!! And the checkout staff pleasant! Outside kept up very well as well as the breakfast area! This is so far the best kept and welcoming BW!!!! Thank-you!! We really appreciate it!!!??????

    « Clean & Friendly »

Stayed here for our 28th wedding anniversary. Staff was very friendly and helpful with area attractions and breakfast was great. Pool is clean and not to much chlorine so it did not dry your eyes out. Location of hotel was great for seeing historic sites in Fredericksburg.

    4
    « Not a bad place »

I usually stay at Best Western and this was a pleasant stay. It's a clean and comfortable hotel and it's in a convenient location. The staff at the hotel are very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. The only reason that I'm not giving this a 5 out of 5 is because I had issues with payment and I was charged more than once. But everything was eventually resolved. Everything eventually worked out. Again, not a bad place to stay

    5
    « Great overnight stay »

Very clean and well kept hotel. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a great hot breakfast. Very easy to get on and off interstate. Will definitely stay again.

    4
« Great location for overnight stopover »

This a great hotel for an overnight stopover when travelling up or down I-95. It was very convenient to I-95 and a short distance from downtown Fredericksburg. We were travelling with our dog and we got a ground-floor room which was very convenient for taking him outside. The room had 2 double beds which made the room seem smaller. I would have preferred 1 king bed but I don't think that was available in the pet-friendly rooms. The staff was very nice and the room was clean. We will definitely stay here again.

    4
« Stopover for one Night »

Room was clean. Appreciated a pet room on the ground floor traveling with 2 dogs. Back of the hotel is away from major roads and on the quiet side, so no highway noise to startle the dogs. It is an older hotel that has been renovated, but overall, in good shape.

    4
« Great location for touring hotel »

This is a good hotel for getting to the historic sites around town. It is a little dated, but the staff here was great and no complaints with the room. There aren't a lot of eating choices nearby (a Shoney's and Dunkins is about it), so you may need to eat before you return from your trip.

    4
« Close to attractions, good selection of eating establishments »

This isn't the most pristine Best Western. Outdoor hallways, needs a refurbishment, but if you are just looking for a place to stay in Fredericksburg, this place won't let you down. The continental breakfast was standard Best Western style, if you've stayed a Best Western before - it's basically the same anywhere. There was a KFC, Subway, Shoneys, 7-11, and Dunkin all within a short walk of the hotel, so that was a plus. Nothing special, but it served its purpose, I would stay here again for its proximity to historic Fredericksburg.

    4
« Good value and clean! »

A stopover on our way to N.Y. Easy off of 95. Good value and very adequate breakfast included. Room was clean. Only complaint, the pillows were horrible, like sleeping on rocks! Staff were very helpful. The woman taking care of the breakfast area did an outstanding job, keeping it well stocked and very clean!!

  • 4
    « Pleasant Stay »

Had a nice stay at this hotel, all the employees are so helpful and are very good at what they do. The room was very clean and definitely exceeded my expectations. We experienced no outside noise at all from our rooms locations. The breakfast was decent for what it was (eggs, bacon, waffles etc...) . The pool area was nice and clean. Definitely could not ask for more there. There are a number of restaurants located within driving distance. The only issue we experienced had nothing to do with the hotel, there is just a lot of traffic on the road that the hotel is located on and depending on the time of day, it made turning into the hotel a challenge.

    3
« Good for One Night Only »

We stopped here to stay overnight on a trip to North Carolina. The room smelled like perfume. Not sure if it was because we were in a pet friendly room, but the smell was stifling and very unpleasant. The bed was pretty comfortable but we heard people all night. In fairness, the hotel was completely booked and it was a Friday night, but we did not get a good night's sleep.

    4
« Comfortable Lodging and Easy to Get to! »

Easy on/off access from I-95. Very nice clean, comfortable room, but a bit on the tight side for two adults though. It is also pet friendly with a large area behind the hotel to walk your pet. Beds were VERY comfortable and the shower head was exquisite after a long day sitting in I-95 traffic for over 2 hours to go 30 miles. However, walls are on the thin side and one can easily hear the next room's occupants. Many TV channels to pick from, but hotel does not provide a channel guide. WiFi was fast and there's a nice desk area to set up your computer. Breakfast had a nice cold buffet selection as well as several hot items to choose from. And, there are numerous restaurant options nearby as well as a large shopping mall. Hotel staff was a bit inconsistent. Checking in, the person at the front desk wasn't what I would consider friendly, but he was very accommodating and moved me to another room when I complained about the noisy occupants in the room next to me. When checking out, the front desk person was extremely friendly and pleasant. However, the breakfast staffer was moody and rude when asked any questions. Overall, I would recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.

This was our second stay within four months. Very dog friendly with green space to walk the dog. Room clean. Bed comfortable. Lots of towels. Friendly staff. We discovered Central Park (mall) nearby with a variety of restaurant.

« Excellent stay! Friendly staff, clean rooms, expansive breakfast (with some gluten free options!) »

We recently stayed the this Best Western in Fredericksburg and was pleasantly surprised with our experience. Cost: First, I love how they offer a AAA discount--this hotel is very affordable. Free parking (and tons of it!) was a huge plus. Free Wifi (although we didn't use it). Location: It's location was fantastic--right off of Route 3 or I-95. Close proximity to tons of restaurants--as someone with celiac/food allergies, I was happy to find several restaurants I could eat at within a 10 minute drive. Staff: extremely friendly and funny! We were greeted with a smile and felt very welcomed. Rooms: Our rooms were very clean and large. We had a king size bed and sofas. Sink is located outside the bathroom which is perfect for getting ready. Love the microwave and refrigerator--which is necessary for those with food allergies or need to store insulin (one member of our party has type 1 diabetes and needs to keep his insulin chilled). Great toiletries. We forgot tooth brushes and toothpaste but the front desk was happy to give us some for free. So nice! Air conditioning works great! Beds are comfy. Noise: Probably the only downfall...unfortunately, the walls are quite thin. The hotel was sold out when we were there. We could not hear anyone walking above us but hear dogs barking CONSTANTLY in the next room over and people outside walking around. I was woken up a few times. Breakfast: HUGE! SO MANY OPTIONS for everyone! There were pastries and muffins and pancakes. Eggs too. I was able to eat fresh fruit, chex cereal, and greek yogurt--all gluten free, which made me very happy. Usually I am stuck with just a banana. Between the breakfast options and fridge/microwave, this hotel was quite allergy friendly! Thanks for a great stay!! :)

Clean rooms, comfy bed, nice staff!! All around great place to Stay. The breakfast that's included was well worth the stay. We stopped for the night on our way to Virginia beach and we were happy we picked this place. Close to lots of places to eat and right off the highway makes it very convenient

This was a motel converted. Overall was clean, Dog friendly a plus. The rooms were small, toiletries cheap, linen clean, staff very Nice & friendly was the best part. Breakfast was good. Good for a one night stopover for traveling with a pet. Down town Fredericksburg was a nice visit

    « Excellent Value!! »

My nephew and I took a road trip from CT to SC. Fredericksburg, VA, is about the half-way point. In general, I am leary of motels/hotels that have a direct outdoor entrance. My mind was quickly put to rest when I walked into our room. Security was more than enough, the room was extremely clean, as was the restroom. Actually, the entire property was extremely clean. Even though it is 100% smoke free facility, the parking lot was NOT littered with cigarette butts, or any type of litter for that matter. The complementary breakfast was delish! I indulged in a freshly made waffle, had the choice of pastries, different breads for toast, two different types of eggs, bacon, fresh coffee, orange juice, fresh fruit.... All this for an amazing rate. All in all, a great place to stay with friendly staff, good food, and an excellent value.

« Great value and comfort. »

Surprisingly comfortable. A real value. I would stay here again. Friendly staff. We were meeting friends 1/2 between our homes. They picked the hotel. Best Western is not normally a place we stay, but this changed our minds.

    « stay here »

Quite satisfied with room, location, and accessibility to restaurants and stores. Staff helpful and pleasant. Room small but well presented. Good value. Better than pricey hotel at Myrtle Beach. Great stop on road trip on 95. Would stay here when traveling again.

    « Great stay »

This morning we pulled up at 3:05 am tired and exhausted from our across country drive. We were quickly given our room keys and off to bed to a very clean and fresh room. We slept great waking just in time for breakfast which was absolutely delicious! Upon leaving breakfast, one of your employees was out collecting the trash - he deliberately and meticulously picked up every single piece of trash that guests left in the parking lot and then stopped to help a woman struggling with her suitcase! It was so nice to see his kindness and special care for how the Best Western looked. It was a short but great stay!

    4
« Clean, friendly and modestly priced »

We enjoyed or one night stay. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed. No complaints with the bath - clean and well maintained. We took advantage of the pool (towels available poolside) and breakfast which had enough hot/cold choices to satisfy our appetite.

I would recommend this hotel very highly we recently spent 3 days here and it was not long enough it has everything you need very clean i am a very fussy person when it comes to cleanliness every member of staff goes out of there way to help and very friendly

« Centrally located, very clean room great breakfast »

Very clean room, excellent full breakfast, inexpensively priced, central to both new and old parts of Fredericksburg.Very friendly staff, room had everything we could ask for. Room was comfortable, quiet, restaurants located right next door. Different breakfast options for the two days we stayed there, more than a continental breakfast - eggs very tasty, wide variety of food options for breakfast. Fresh fruit and water available 24/7 in the lobby;.

    « One night stay »

We stayed one night and the room was very clean and the king size bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was ok and the staff was very nice. The front desk clerk was very helpful in getting directions to the place we needed to be the next morning.

    « Just passing through »

We stopped in on our long drive home and found our hotel clean and reasonably priced. Nice continental breakfast. Staff was courteous and got us checked in quick. This is an older motel but well maintained. Parking was just out your door which made loading and unloading a snap. Near the interstate so easy to find for long distance travelers like ourselves.

    4
« Great room for the price »

For the price we were pleasantly surprised at how clean the rooms were. Not as modern as you upper priced hotels such as a Hyatt or Marriott, but as a couple traveling with a dog, this was a great, affordable option. The pet fee was incredibly reasonable! If traveling again with our dog, I will definitely seek out a Best Western to stay.

    5
« Great place to stay! »

Very clean and the staff was super friendly! The breakfast was also very nice. We were pleased with our stay there and would stay again. The front desk staff was very friendly upon our arrival and we were very happy with the condition of our room.

« Stay at Best Western »

Was very pleased with my stay at the Frederiscksburg,VA Best Westerrn. I've never stayed at a Best Western but would sure try another time. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Best breakfast of all the hotels I stayed at this trip. Would highly recommend.

« Great value, glad we stayed here »

I wish Trip Advisor allowed for partial star ratings because this property may not be a 4-star location but it is at least a 3.5. My summary: The Good- Good size rooms Free wi-fi that is suitably fast Refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in rooms TV with cable that has huge number of channels Very large selection at included breakfast Outdoor pool in secluded setting Close proximity to Interstate 95 Only 2 miles from Historic Fredericksburg Many restaurants nearby Guest laundry on premises Minor negatives- Outside entrance to rooms, no interior hallway Prohibitive left turn from premises to head towards town, need to make a U-turn after turning right Fox News always blaring from TV while eating breakfast

« Excellent breakfast but mediocre room »

The room was pretty standard. It wasn't in bad shape but was due for a renovation. I had no problems staying here with my 7 and 8 yr old daughters. The location was close to the highway and about 3 miles from the Expo for the Marine Corps 1/2 Marathon. What really stood out was the exceptional breakfast. They had everything you could think of for a hotel breakfast and the quality was top notch thanks to Susan, she was such a rock star! She went above and beyond to ensure everything was tended to.

« finally a good place to stay »

I def would recommend, this hotel they are pet friendly they do have good remodel rooms that are for those that don't have pets and then if you have pets more likely you will be on the back side those are for people that have pets there are a few rooms that are really bad some that are ok I think they def. need to replace the carpets those the people are friendly they have an amazing breakfast lay out theres 2 ladies that work the breakfast area one is so friendly and loves to talk theres another one that is rude and quiet she never smiles she stares a lot she will watch your every move so don't eat to much I think she thinks she buys the stuff lol house keeping is nice people they use to they must be on a budget they use to leave you Pantene shampoo and conditioner but not anymore I don't like the shampoo and soap they have now there going cheap why when as busy as they get I know they can do better if you travel a lot make sure you sign of for there rewards program altho. they went up on there points still better than choice hotel program I have both and BW is better or at least until they take more of your points now also this hotel is right off interstate its close to a mall and lots of restaurants traffic sucks in that area big time but that just because of over population I would def .recommend for the price

« Best Western when Traveling with Dogs »

We've been staying at the Best Western in Fredericksburg for years on our way to and from vacation, and we generally travel with 2-4 dogs. It has always been a wonderful experience, both with the quality of the accommodations and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

    4
« Decent, inexpensive stop. Dog friendly plus! »

We stayed here one night on a trip up from Florida. Great rate. Devon room, king size bed that was comfy. A fridge. Rooms are a bit dated but clean. Best of all is their dog friendly policy. Only $10 per dog. We loved that. Staff super nice. Free breakfast buffet and wifi. I'd stop here again on a trip.

    5
    « Best Western doesn't disappoint »

We were looking for a hotel to stay at while I was photographing a wedding. We stayed two nights. The room was very clean, well laid out and on the back side of the building so we were not disturbed by traffic noise. I was given the choice of floors, which I appreciated. The location was centrally located and perfect for our needs. This hotel seems very popular, and was booked for the entire weekend, so I strongly recommend making reservations.

    4
    « Very nice! »

Stop over on our way to Myrtle beach, room was comfortable and clean. I have to say that I think this was the most comfortable king size bed we have ever slept on. Would definitely stay again, breakfast provided many choices and was kept fresh.

« Overnight Stop driving home from Florida »

The staff were really pleasant and helpful. Having a hot breakfast at the hotel let me get back on the road quickly in the morning. The rooms were a bit dated (reminded me nostalgically of motels we stayed in while traveling as a kid), but clean and comfortable. Not fancy, but perfect for a night or two.

    4
    « Excellent Staff »

This is a clean comfortable hotel with a great staff. The breakfast was surprisingly good with lots of selections and nice folks who do a good job of keeping it stocked. We are frequent visitors to Fredericksburg so we will be returning to this hotel.

« Trip to Fredericksburg, VA »

This property is not fancy but the rooms are comfortable and clean. They serve breakfast every morning from 6am to 11am and it is excellent. They have scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruits, pancakes, waffles, juice, coffee, milk, donuts, croissants, cereal, etc. There is a person there at all times making sure nothing runs out. If you wish something more for breakfast the motel shares a parking lot with Shoney's. The staff at the desk are very accommodating. They even helped me get hooked up to their free WIFI. We had to extend our stay a few times and they arranged for us to stay in the same room with just a simple check out and back in in less than two minutes each time. I heartily recommend this motel.

    4
    « A nice place for a short stay »

A very clean "Motor Inn" with a friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. Easy access to all restaurants and shopping and the main highways and very close to I95. Coffee and fresh fruit was available in the Hotel Lobby.

« Good hotel, not recommended for runners »

The hotel is a very nice budget hotel, don't expect anything super fancy. When I checked in my sister and I were given a mini-breakfast for before the race (consisted of a bottle of water, banana and nutri-grain bar), which was really thoughtful considering we left for the race right as the free breakfast opened up. The only problem I had with the hotel was that they did not allow late check out for people running the Marine Corps Historic Half. I'm a very slow runner so I wasn't sure I was going to get back before check out time so I checked out before I left for the race. It would have been nice to be able to come back and shower really quick before driving the two hours home. Other than that, the hotel was pretty good, friendly staff, clean rooms, and the bed was comfortable. Any other time I would have had no problems but not allowing late check out for runners seems like a bad idea to me.

    3
    « Average Hotel »

I stayed here for one night while on town for the Historic Half Marathon. It was convenient to drive to the event. The rooms were OK, nothing special. Seemed pretty clean. A little overpriced, but I imagine that was due to the race weekend.

    « A Travelers Blessing »

We only stayed one night at this Best Western during a recent move from Jersey to the Southeast. It was a great halfway point. We got to the hotel at 1AM where we were greeted warmly at the front desk. There was plenty of parking in the back for our moving truck and car carrier. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. The hotel is also pet friendly, which was really helpful for us as we were traveling with two cats. Would definitely stay here again!

    5
    « Wonderful!! »

We were very pleased with our stay here. Would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends. Great breakfast and very convenient to 95.The staff was very pleasant and the hotel and grounds were clean and felt very safe. We will definitely book this hotel again in the fall.

    « Great Best Western »

This is probably the nicest BW I've stayed in during my many trips back and forth to Florida. I'm traveling with a dog so BW is great for that. The staff, the room and the breakfast were all excellent. .

    « Hidden Value »

We were very pleased with our stay last weekend. Although this is an older motel style inn, it has been very well maintained. Staff helpful. Excellent free breakfast offerings. The $10 pet fee very reasonable. Right off I-95 but good location for those who want to tour the area. This will be our FIRST CHOICE when back in this area.

    5
    « Overnight »

Room is clean and decor is up to date. It is very convenient to restaurants and easy access off and onto Rte 95. I have stayed at this hotel when I drive home from Florida. The beds are very comfortable which is great after a long days drive.

« Easy Inn and Easy Out »

Breaking up a two day trip south, we found this Best Western just off the highway in Fredericksburg. We chose it, amongst the others offered at the same exit, because of our satisfaction with Best Western's we've stayed at before. We were greeted with smiles and lots of hospitality information. Our room was clean, the property was charming in a 1960's motel kind of way, and it was near a couple of restaurants that didn't belong to a chain starting with M, B, or S. Our one night here was uneventful, just as it should be on a road trip. We'd stop here again if timing and miles permit. P.S. There is a simple breakfast buffet that is free - the worst coffee and croissant we have ever had. Duncan Donuts is around the corner.

    4
« Very Nice at a great price »

Hotel is a great value. Under some light construction when we stayed, bur nothing that got in our way or detracted from our facility use. Definitely a great place to stay while traveling or even while in the area.

    5
    « great stop »

We were traveling from New Hampshire to Florida and stopped at the Best Western in Fredericksburg, VA. It was convenient to I95, the staff were very welcoming, the rooms were neat and clean and the breakfast was very good. There are many good restaurants in the area so all in all a great stop and of course pet friendly!!

    « Nice place. »

Young man checking us in was polite, friendly, helpful. The room was clean, beds comfortable, very quiet, bathroom very old but clean. Many different Restaurants were a short drive and easy to find. Just fast food within walking distance. My only problem with this place was the breakfast. The hotel was sold out and the next morning the breakfast room was filled with teenagers on a trip. There was another room but the staff didn't open it.

« Great Value, Great Stay »

    « A great experience »

I've stayed at this BW several times over the past 5 years; I have family in Fredericksburg. I've always had a positive experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel!!!

    « Excellent valus »

We could park outside the room so we felt comfortable leaving our luggage, etc in the car where we could see it. The motel was close to restaurants, the hotel breakfast area, the pool (which we did not use). The beds were comfy. Everything was clean, the room smelled fresh, and the bathroom was especially clean. Wifi a plus!

« Stop over on way from FL to MA »

We have stayed at this hotel before. As usual, the stay was very good. Check in was very quick, the room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. Internet service was free and was fine. Breakfast in the morning was free and was fine. We travel with a dog and there are decent areas for walking the dogs. There are plenty of restaurants close for having dinner when you arrive. Easy on and off I-95. We will definitely stay here again on our trips back and forth.

    « Great Stay »

Stayed here Friday night. Clean room, very comfortable beds. Lobby is attractive, staff members were pleasant. Check in was fast. Exterior is the basic 2-story hotel nicely maintained. We were offered first or second floor, which was nice. The breakfast was delicious. Cereal, yogurt, waffles, eggs, etc...good variety. They have an outdoor pool. Subway, Dunkin Donuts right next door, Waffle House restaurant on hotel grounds. Lots of fast food places very near to hotel. We enjoyed our stay here. We would definitely stay here again. This hotel is pet friendly as well and has wifi.

    « Fredericksburgy, VA »

This hotel had everything necessary for a quick stopover on the way from FL to CT. I usually travel with my own food, so a refrigerator and microwave are necessities for me, and were available in the room. The room was clean, and stocked with toiletries. Had I not left so early, breakfast was complimentary, and I would have enjoyed that. Parking was handy and the staff was friendly and helpful.

    5
    « 10 stars if I could »

The room was spotless. The staff was very polite and pleasant. The grounds were clean and well maintained. The continental breakfast is one of the best we've ever had. We travel from NY to NC monthly, this is our new halfway point. Priced right and perfect location.

Just stayed last night. Sign in was fast and easy even got a cookie for dog. Could park at your door on first floor quiet room. Would definitely stay again. Dog park for pets bathroom needs. Coffees and tea avail in room and also all day and night in lobby

« Older style with a Great Breakfast »

This is an older style property (rooms with doors to outside parking) but it does have the best breakfast we have had at a BW. It had more variety and better quality items. We had a later flight out of DC the next day and chose this BW as a good value over the high price ones closer to Reagan National. It is over an hour drive (in good traffic - not rush hour/s).

    4
    « Golfing trip »

We have stayed in this same hotel now for the past 5 years. They work well with Genesis Golf Trips, easy to find, close to restraints. ,Price is good and food is all anyone would need. Staff is always helpful and the rooms and eating area is always clean.

Driving from Florida to New York with no plans where to stop. asked my smart phone to look up a best western up ahead the closest was Fredericksburg called and had no problem booking a room. The room was nice but the heat lamp in the bathroom was in the corner so you can't stand under it. The hotel sign you can see in a distance bu t when you get there it's hard to find the entrance, we rode past and had to turn around.

« Best Stay in Fredericksburg »

We stayed at this Best Western several years ago and liked it very much. Since then it seems every time we've tried to get reservations they were full. This last trip in March, however, we were able to get accommodations for two nights, one night each way on our trip to Myrtle Beach. The value is really good in this motel. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. The shower is really nice with a rainfall shower head ..... very relaxing. The beds are very comfy and the rooms have new flat-screen TV's. The free hot breakfast bar is really good and includes waffles, sausage, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, yogurt and all sorts of pastries and cereal. I would recommend this property for a great night's stay and for a king room with frig and microwave we paid only $92 with our AAA discount and tax included.

    4
« Clean, comfortable and convenient location. »

This was a hotel immediately off I-95, so very convenient. The check-in staff was friendly, room was well decorated and very clean, breakfast was the typical hotel fair with waffles, scrambled eggs, fruit, coffee, juice. Parking was a bit tight, but despite that, I'd definitely stay here again.

Stayed here on our way back home from Fl. Very nice. Clean, nice room, good linens, AC that worked, friendly staff and beautiful flowers. Excellent in all respects. The adjacent Shoney Cafe was excellent, also.... NO driving needed. Nice pool area... and a well maintained pet area. Would ( and will) stay here on our trip down to Fl. next year.

« Metal 'louvers' above door allowed noise in all night. »

This is a dated motel with a remodeled lobby and some refurbishments to the rooms. The rooms were typically sized with a with a toilet and tub tightly packed in the small bathroom. The tub had old hardware, but the shower head was updated and the water pressure was strong. The plastic tub mat was yellowed and should be discarded. The sink counter outside the bathroom was new. Although the room was a bit musty upon arrival the room was very clean and well maintained by the cleaning staff. BUT there is some type of metal louvers above the doors that cannot be totally closed. This is a busy parking area with cars going in and out and a highway behind it, so we kept the tv on to dull the noise. At about 12:45am some disturbance took place outside that woke us up because of these 'louvers'. Not convenient when we needed to get back on the road at 6:30am. How do they keep the rooms warm in the winter with these metal louvers? They need to be removed immediately. We thought the breakfast selection was great, French toast, bacon, eggs, and the typical waffles that can be made.

    3
    « It's really a motel »

I don't like entering my room from an outside hallway. To me this a motel and not a hotel. The room, that was allegedly refurbished, was a bit worn. It was okay. Depending on who it was, I may or may not refer this motel. Breakfast was "Okay." It was a huge house count so I'm surprised they didn't put out just a little better breakfast. Morning desk staff was friendlier that evening desk staff. For the money, and I guess depending on what you are looking for, it is worth the charge.

    5
    « Cute hotel »

This hotel has a cute A frame design. The room was nice and roomy. More room then most king size beds rooms. The employees were very friendly. The only down fall was during rush hour hard to get to turn into hotel lot. Need to turn in just before you see the hotel, but in traffic no one lets you turn left.

    « Road trip stopover »

We actually stayed two nights on a road trip stopover on way home to Canada from Myrtle Beach. Hotel room was nice and clean. Breakfast was good. We travelled with our dog and there was small grassy space behind hotel for walking dog.

    « Return Visit »

As with my last stay here, very satisfied with this hotel. I stop here on the drive from Maine to Georgia and travel with my dogs. Though the great park adjacent to the hotel was under construction, this is still a terrific spot. I don't know that the park area is part of the hotel property but I hope that if it is, it will continue to be a park, it is a great spot to walk the dogs. The staff is polite and friendly, the room clean and comfortable. No complaints. I'll stay here again.

    « Never disappoints »

Once again we had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff (Ryan in particular), made our stop so pleasant. One never has to worry about cleanliness or comfort here. Highly recommend stopping. If you get in early, there are a multitude of restaurants and shops to peruse. Speedy and great morning departure, from breakfast to payment.

    « Good roadtrip choice »

We (mature couple) stayed overnight enroute from eastern Canada to Florida and beyond in late February 2016. We were attracted by the AAA/CAA rates but the facility and the stay was good. Clean, quiet, and a good hot breakfast in the AM. Recommended.

    3
« Noisy, Noisy, Noisy Otherwise Great »

If you have your own sound machine you may like the conveniences of this hotel. Close to attractions, reasonable price, and clean. Road noise, door slams, dogs etc. add up to a poor nights sleep. Bring a sound machine.

« Best Western Are Our Choice! »

We stayed at this Best Western on our way north from Florida. We always stay in Best Western hotels because they are consistently comfortable and a good value. I like to walk and there was a residential area behind the hotel where I could take a walk after check-in. There were several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The breakfast was particularly nice and the woman who worked in the dining room was very friendly.

« Best Western in Fredericksburg loves pets »

Stayed at BW in Fredericksburg, VA twice. We has a pet friendly room on first floor. When we registered we were given an cute little paper bag with a dog biscuit and doggie waste bag. A really nice gesture. We love the breakfast buffet at this Best Western, always hot with tons of choices. Room was always very very clean, staff friendly and well groomed. We did try another brand pet friendly hotel the next night and it was very disappointing. When I look at cleanliness in a room I look and everything, fingerprints on doors, door frame moldings, bathroom caulking, mold in bathroom grout etc. carpets, stains on chairs. Great little place. I highly recommend it as a stop on your journey or for a vacation stay in the Fredericksburg, VA. area.

    5
    « Convenient to the I95 »

This hotel is very convenient and just off the I95 and we use it when we are travelling south to either Florida or Myrtle Beach. We always stay at the Best Western. It's clean, beds are comfortable and the breakfasts are substantial.

    « Not very happy! »

Facility is definitely dated. The beds were comfortable. The TV had many missing channels because they are still using analog when every channel has moved to digital. The refrigerator froze everything regardless of what it was set on. Our room was in a bad location. The maid start early and we heard everything! From what they did yesterday to how they were feeling today. Even had the sign on the door 'shhhh'.

« Great value and dog friendly »

Easy off and on to I 95. Large room with king size bed. Very clean and comfortable. Possibly renovated recently. Great bed. Good warm breakfast. All for less than $100. Good area to walk dog. Short walk to restaurants.

    « Clean Clean Clean »

We stayed there on Friday the 26th on our way home from Florida. It was so nice and welcoming the staff was fabulous and the room was so clean. On our way to Florida we had stayed at a terrible place. Best Western was so great for us. The breakfast is very good too. They even gave our Lab a treat. Will always stay there on my way to and from Fla.

    « Clean & Comfortable »

This hotel was located very conveniently to Rt. 95. Our King bed room was clean and comfortable. We were traveling with a small dog, and the pet-friendly rooms were conveniently located towards the back parking lot with walking opportunities close by. The bed was very comfortable for sleeping, and the breakfast was very good, with scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, and bakery items.

« Great place for family and animals »

We always stay here on our way north, it is a middle point. The area has the history part but also some really great restaurants and when traveling it is nice to get good food. Love the beds. The parking is plentiful also even if you have a truck.

« Good stop between Boston and FL »

We wanted to clear DC traffic on the first leg of our trip from Boston to FL. Leaving at 5:30a, we made it by 3:30,hitting no traffic at all. We stayed in the pet friendly room #149, located in the back of the hotel, close to a little dog park. Poop bags available, but not pet bowls. $10 pet fee. Free parking. The road can be noisy, so we were grateful for our location. The room was clean and neat, with 2 double beds, 2 chairs, a small table, desk, fridge and drip coffee maker. Blow dryer. Small bath with outer sink and vanity. Flat screen TV. Walls thin. I could hear every word said in the room next door through the bathroom vent. I hope our dog didn't howl while we were out. It was very noisy with folks arriving late and leaving early. Sometimes we felt like people were coming in the room. Breakfast was included. Scrambled eggs, cereal, toast, bagels, bacon and sausage, yogurt, juice and coffee. French toast and make-it-yourself waffles. Friendly staff. 2 miles to downtown Fredericksburg, right off 95. Across from large strip mall with grocery store.

« nice clean room and pleasant staff »

Hotel was pleasant and right off the highway. The room was clean and bright. The hot breakfast had waffles, eggs, bacon, variety of breads , yogurts, apples, oranges, bananas. Television in eating area. The front desk staff were friendly. There is a Friendlys restaurant within walking distance.

« Clean room- great price »

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Every time you walked by a member of the staff they said, Hello. The breakfast was very good with different variety of foods. I did not have any complaints. Would stay there again

    « Good value »

Hotel was lovely, breakfast better than most and very helpful staff Definitely a notch above some other hotels that take dogs. I love the checkout at 12 rather than 11 because it gave us time to take a walk with the dog and spruce up before we got on the road.

    « Best Hotel EVER! »

This is honestly the best hotel I've ever stayed at! It was clean and cozy and the beds are to die for. All the employees go out of their way to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. This is definitely my new favorite hotel, I would recommend it to anyone staying in the Fredericksburg area.

    5
    « Enjoyable stay »

Well recommended. The staff were very friendly and helpful when inquiring where to go for supper when we arrived. Had a comfortable bed and quiet room. The hot breakfast included with the room had a variety of food which was fresh and hot. All areas were clean and presentable.

« Clean Hotel and Friendly Staff »

This is a very well maintained hotel. The staff are friendly and abundantly helpful with directions and dining recommendations. This is my favorite place to stay in Fredericksburg Va and a great value for the price. Really great full breakfast, excellent Wi-Fi, and well appointed rooms. Immediately off I-95, but no traffic noise from the highway at all.

    « COMFORT & QUALITY »

My husband & I stay here every February and March. We have always been treated with courtesy and respect. Rooms are kept immaculate and fully stocked. Breakfast buffet has a large variety of foods and very organized and clean. Wouldn't consider any other place in Fredericksburg to stay. Can't say enough about this hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND...We've stayed in many hotels up & down the East Coast. Found Best Western to be the one we can rely on for comfort.

« Clean, comfortable, convenient location, reasonable price »

We were travelling to Florida and seeking a nice, clean, comfortable place with easy access to the I95 highway and for a reasonable cost. This place is not fancy but it definitely checked all of our boxes. Our room was a pleasant surprise - it appeared to have been updated fairly recently and was super clean with a great bed. Free WIFI and breakfast included are definitely bonuses. We will stay there again.

    « Angelina Martzolff's Review »

This hotel was not a 5 Star hotel, but to me it should be. The check in service was great. Room was very nice and clean. I liked the microwave and fridge. They had a nice breakfast set up with bacon, eggs, waffles and beverage. Really nice. They are also within walking distance of food establishments and the mall is a few minutes from there. I really enjoyed my stay there and probably stay there again if I have another business meeting in the area.

    « Clean and affordable »

Excellent location next to KFC. Nice clean room with flat screen. I would stay there again. Good Value for the price. Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast very tasty. Bacon and scrambled eggs. Diabetic syrup for the waffles.

    « Very nice motel-good for dogs »

Very nice room--very clean, spacious, comfortable bed. Dog friendly (but additional $10 charge for a dog). A good area to walk the dog. Breakfast was more than we expected--eggs, pancakes, bacon, etc. Much better than most complimentary breakfasts offered. Would recommend it.

    3
    « Not bad for a night »

The rooms are a bit outdated but clean. If you are traveling and need to stop for a night like us on our way to Florida, this place is good . Beds are clean and comfortable. Shower works well and you have plenty of towells. Very close to I95- But if you would like to walk for dinner, well all the good restaurants are across the I95 around what they call central park- to far to walk. If you are thinking of having cocktails in your your, bring your own glasses or else you will be drinking put of paper cups!! Breakfast includes lots of choices even scrambled egs and bacon! Overall, it did suit our needs

    « Traveling with a dog »

This is our half-way mark on our vacation. We've stayed here many times and never had a complaint. The staff is gracious. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is a free breakfast buffet.. There are many eateries within walking distance. Our rooms have always had a microwave oven and a small refrigerator. The beds are comfortable. Most importantly, it's safe! You can't go wrong.

The past month I stayed at this Hotel 3 times it's wonderful and clean, people very friendly , price good , food good and very clean, restaurant was great to eat at , at night . The front desk people remembered my name from past weeks . How cool was that . I will be going back .

    « Great Hotel »

This was the best hotel I have stayed at in a long time & had lots of extras in the room. There was a mini refrigerator, toaster over, coffee, tea, ironing board & iron & a hair dryer. The only suggestion I would give is to include hot chocolate for those of us who don't drink coffee or tea.

    « Getaway »

My Husband and I were in need of a long weekend getaway. We decided to visit Fredericksburg and explore the civil war sites. This Best Western was our first choice and we definitely made the right one! The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and very spacious. We were close to all of the attractions and restaurants. It was a great weekend!

    « On the road »

It was a last minute decision and they accept dogs. Not much of a dog walking area. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The staff was pleasant, offered a morning paper and a nice continental breakfast.

    « Best Worsten »

Sorry, not sure how this hotel got the rave reviews. Maybe it's because we were with a pet, but we got a room with a horrible urine odor. Breakfast was not there for us since we got there at 10:06 and apparently it only lasts till 10:00. Noisy pipes all night and sheets that look like someone slept there. Avoid.

    « Awesome place »

This was a very nice, clean and quiet hotel. The room was great, the bed was comfortable, the shower was powerful. The best part about this place is we had a truck with a 34 ft trailer attached (not so easy to just go to a store or resturant) this place has a resturant right in front of it and kfc, subway, dd and a gas station/store right next door. We were able to walk for everything we needed. Will definitely stay here again when our travels put us near here.

    5
    « Passing through »

Have stayed at this hotel passing through to Florida twice. This time as others was excellent. As hotels go their breakfast is near the top. Hot food like bacon, sausage, eggs and all the usual hotel stuff. Lady running it was very friendly and helpful. It is reasonably priced. Only a five minute drive to a big mall. That is with out any traffic. Have no problem staying there again.

    2
    « Less than expected »

I've stayed at many Best Westerns and this one falls short of what I've come to expect. The rooms are small. They are set up like the drive-up motels that I try to avoid as a woman travelling alone. I did not feel safe in the stairwell. The morning of my departure, I stopped at the breakfast area where a staff member was bringing out "fresh" blueberry muffins. They were so dry, I nearly gagged.

    5
    « very nice hotel »

Location of hotel is really good for people going for winter month to Florida. Staff is exceptional friendly, especial in the breakfast room. Room is very clean, bed is comfortable. And it's not expensive, it gives you a goo value for money spent.

    « No Complaints! »

We stayed here for three nights over a weekend. This is an older hotel/motel that has been completely remodeled. The office/reception area is new construction. The room was clean, no odor and the bed was very comfortable. Even though the hotel is surrounded by restaurants/shoppping it is very quiet. The breakfast was good and offered a large variety. We would defenitely stay here again.

    « Fredericksburg Va »

We found the hotel to be very clean & quiet. The staff was very courteous & helpful, which made check in & check out go very smoothly. The hot breakfast was really delicious & the variety was really good. The breakfast area was very clean. We were however not satisfied with the parking arrangements as it was too far from the room entrance. This meant making multiple trips with to unload the car.

    5
« Excellent hotel quality and value with exceptional breakfast »

We stopped overnight at the Best Western Fredericksburg - which is located just off of Exit 130 A on I-95 but far enough away to minimize road noise.. The property is well maintained and the lobby is welcoming. The staff is professional and very friendly. The room was well appointed and comfortable with excellent high speed wireless internet. The complimentary breakfast was the best we have ever experienced at a Best Western, Holiday Inn Express, Comfort or Quality inn or Hampton Inn - wider variety of choices with everything delicious. This hotel will be our regular stop when heading up or down I-95.

« Snowbird travel to Florida »

After a very long day of driving from Ontario Canada we stopped at this location primarily because we were very tired 12 hours on the road and then horrendous rush hour traffic. We do like the BW Plus and walked in without a resv. Requested a room and were provided with a driveup motel room. Our disappointment died when we opened the door to a great room with a King bed and lounger. Fresh and clean bathroom and better quality linens. the breakfast was a treat and well laid out. Overall an excellent stay.

« Long way to be a Plus »

The hotel reception did not meet quality standards on arrival. The room was adequate and had an odor. The heating system was so loud it woke us each time it went on so we turned it off and put up with a cold room We were tire from a long drive and didn't choose to change room. This hotel needs to step up it's game and improve the quality expected.

    « Just right »

We had a quiet, comfortable stay in this hotel, and started the morning with an amazing complimentary breakfast which included real eggs, bacon, sausage, and a variety of baked goods. I would stay here again.

    « Ok »

Although the room was clean on arrival the bed was like a 60's waterbed & was not comfortable. Their breakfast was good and had variety, but their wifi is TERRIBLE!!! Even with 2 smartphones and 2 laptops, we could not connect l or if we happened to succeed, we'd get kicked off within a minute.

An excellent hotel. An older style motel with new admin building. Room and bathroom were spotless and appeared newly renovated.Bed was comfortable and because the hotel is away from the road,it was quiet. The new admin building has been built in colonial style and looks really good, Breakfast room is large and very bright, with full windows. Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again,

« Good location Clean rooms »

This hotel is in an excellent location close to downtown Fredericksburg, near the Highway with dining and shopping everywhere. The staff is friendly and free breakfast was good. The only negative was at the time of our visit there was construction going on behind the hotel where our room was located.

    3
« Average hotel, a bit long in the tooth. »

This is an older property without an elevator, so be sure to request a first floor room if you have any problems carrying luggage up a flight of stairs. The facility is clean and staff is nice, but the hotel could stand a little freshening up. The rooms were noisy. I had to get up at 3AM to ask some people to quiet down as they were talking noisily right outside our door. I don't know if these were workmen or guests, but they were surprised when I opened the door in my underwear to grouch at them. Overall a so so experience. On my trip home the other direction we made a point to find a different hotel. Nuff said!

« Great experience at a budget price »

Rooms are nice, very clean and modern. Hotel is attached to a Shoney's Restaurant, which is convenient for late suppers. Bed was very comfy, with LOTS of pillows. Breakfast could use some work, but overall a very good place to stay.

    « Nice and clean »

I was driving rt 95 on business trip needed place to sleep close to highway. This was just quarter mile away and plenty places to dine and gas I like best western hotels. The room was very clean reasonable rate and hot coffee in morning, which is usually not case with cheaper hotels. I strongly recommend this one

    3
« Very Damp and old inside »

The Best Western looks great from outside but the room we had was very damp and old, older furnishings, carpet and bath tub area and the bedding is in need of work.Would not go again.2 adults and our dog was 112.00 per night. Pricey for Best Western.I have stayed at Hampton Inn for that amount.

    4
« Nice, clean hotel. friendly personnel. »

Really a great value for the money. clean room, good breakfast. L did not have a prior reservation. I drove up to the hotel, which has a nice outdoor appearance. There were several men checking in, apparently on a golf outing. They quoted a very reasonable rate and I was not disappointed with the room. Every bit as nice as a Hampton or Holiday Inn, but at least $40.00 cheaper. Convenient to Washington DC and many historical sites in the area.

    5
    « Excellent stay »

From the time I arrived the staff was very friendly. The check in was very smooth and quick. The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast the next morning was great, a large select of food hot or cold. The check out was very easy. I would recommend this Best Western to all my family and friends.

    « Great Breakfast »

Most Best Western offer breakfast. Here they had multiple choices and a wonderful attendant who ensured that everything was displayed in a pleasant array. The hotel is older but well maintained. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. They are near other restaurants and fuel for the traveling public. Well worth the time.

« Stop over en route to Florida »

Fredericksburg VA is a stopping point for us each year on our way home to FL from the northeast. We chose this hotel because we travel with a small dog and this hotel accepts pets. We checked in and we given a list of pet rules which we pretty common sense, if you are a pet owner, but they were written from the viewpoint of the pet. Such as "your human must be attached to your leash when you are outside of your room". We thought it added some humor. Our room was on the back side of the hotel, near the area where you can walk your dog. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is a Shoney's in front of the hotel, a KFC next door and other restaurants nearby. The internet worked fine, the hotel was basically quiet. We will definitely stay here on our way north or south.

    5
    « great hotel »

it was a very clean , pretty, and friendly hotel, really nice pool. We needed a handicapped room and found one at Best Western, the room was very nice, tv needed to be raised up to view tv better from bed. very nice hotel

    5
    « Stay here! »

From the minute you drive in, you can tell that someone cares a lot about this motel! The staff should be commended! Super clean, nice bed, nice breakfast. Great motel at a super price! Just goes to show what management and staff that truly care can make happen. I have stayed in much more expensive and newer places that were not nearly as nice as this one.

    5
    « Excellent Customer Service »

The staff at the front desk exceeded our expectations as soon as we walked in. Not only did they allow us to check in early, they anticipated our needs without us having to ask for a single thing, seeing that we were traveling with children (extra towels and even a coloring book with crayons). I wasn't feeling well at all and after 12 hours in the car with kids it was greatly appreciated. The rooms have definitely been updated and it's very evident that the employees and management take pride in keeping the property clean. Each morning as we walked to breakfast they had several people manicuring the parking lot and common areas- the housekeeping staff was very kind and attentive as well. Breakfast was offered daily in the front lobby and, although I'm not a breakfast eater, it was perfect for our kids- lots of choices that varied slightly each day. Once again, attentive and incredibly friendly staff. One note-- This hotel is right off a busy road and close to 95, so there is some traffic noise, and being an older building, you can hear other guests coming and going from their rooms. If this bothers you, I would recommend planning accordingly. We live in a city, so the outside noises don't phase us one bit. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would certainly return if we're ever back in the area.

    5
    « Nice »

We were satisfied with selecting this hotel. It was very clean. It was not so quite because of the neighbor! but it was okay. And it could be happened everywhere else. There was an easy access to I-95.

« Nice, Friendly Hotel in Historic area »

We were very satisfied with our late night selection of this Best Western Hotel. It is right off the interstate. The bathroom had 3 sets of towels which was very nice. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, suggesting restaurants in the immediate area. The beds were very comfortable. The morning breakfast area was spotless, and the buffet offered a good selection. The room was clean, and it was a nice sleep experience. We would stay at this hotel again.

    5
    « Always a pleasant stay »

« Review of Best Western, Fredericksburg, VA »

The stay at Best Western was fine. We found nothing wrong with the motel. The comfort of the room was excellent as were the beds. We will definitely return to Best Western in the future. The service that was provided was excellent as well.

    « Fredricksburg Best Western »

Entrance comes up quickly on a busy street so watch carefully. It is the closest hotel to the Fredricksburg Sporting Complex . Easy drive of 10 minutes. We were there for weekend state cup soccer finals. It is also easy access to I 95

« Great location and property »

I generally do not book hotels that have rooms that are accessible from the street, however because of the good reviews and the central location I took a chance on this BW hotel. It was a near perfect stay. The food, location, quality of the service and immaculate room made this a great choice. Other than periodically hearing other tenants cars/motorcycles and chatter outside our door, it was great! I would definitely book at this location again.

    5
    « Great Motel »

Just about the best Best Western I ever stayed at. Room was excellent; grounds were clean; location was convenient; breakfast was orderly and well laid out.You could make waffles at breakfast but instead of making 1 giant waffle, the machine made 4 smaller ones; suited to the amount you wanted to eat. Looking forward to my next visit.

    3
    « clean »

This motel was clean, staff was nice and breakfast really good. The room was as nice as could have been considering the building. It was like a room at one of cheapest chains but cost not a lot less that the room we had the next night at a high end hotel that was on sale. It was full so I guess they can change what they do because of the good location. It was ok but I certainly would shop around and only stay here at that price if is only thing available.

    3
    « Federicksburg, VA »

If I am in the area, I would consider this hotel again. Their was some noise issues as other guests arrived or walked in front of our room, which was on the first floor. The building was in need of some updating. The location to our conference, food, and shopping was very good.

    5
« Great Hotel Near Fredericksburg Expo Center »

The hotel is very clean and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was the best I have had at any Best Western Hotels. Hotel is two levels with stairs to the second level. If you have problems with stairs request a first floor room. Hotel is about 10 - 15 minutes from the Expo Center depending on the traffic. The two full/queen room was very spacious. All the hotels in that area are a little pricey so expect to pay close to 100.00 per day. I plan to stay their next year.

    4
« Good price, room as expxted »

My husband and I stayed here on our way to vacation. Good price, room was clean, nothing spectacular. The pool area looked really nice; however, we did not have an opportunity to enjoy it. Morning breakfast was good and had a lot of options. Easy interstate access.

    « "Great stopover" »

We have been travelling to Florida for a few years now and always stop here. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and the rooms have always been clean and comfortable. It is convenient to the highway and the free breakfast helps cut down on time and money.

    « guest stay »

Newly renovated; nicer decor and comfort; new business office open 24 hrs-very nice; breakfast was great, coffee and tea service 24 hr, breakfast area was 'tight' with a large group staying; refrigerator and microwave in each room-sweet; would stay again, close to malls, restaurants, etc and the Interstate
