« Tripadvisor Comes Through Again »

I was a little worried at first that I had read the reviews wrong about this hotel. It's a diamond in the rough. First off if you're driving your car in - this place is very hard to find, but other than that it's a great place. The hotel is located just below the 111st number 7 subway (the line runs above ground outside of Manhatten) line. You will hear the trail all night, but it's not that bad, you get the real NYC experience. The hotel is located in the Corona area. Corona is on the gritty side, but it seemed to be just of a lot of hard working people in the area - I felt safe with my family of four. The subway station is only a four minute walk. The hotel is very clean and the workers are very friendly and helpful. The free parking is also a plus. We arrived around 5:00 PM and didn't have a problem getting a space - but the parking is extremely limited.

« Home Away from Home »

My Sister &I had not seen each other in years, when the opportunity arose to meet up in NYC. We chose this particuliar hotel for its rating, proximity to LaQuardia including a shuttle to the airport, and a full, complementary buffet breakfast. The day manager behind the desk turned out to be the General Manager who went out of his way to ensure our visit was comfortable & pleasant. From our arrival, where he upgraded our room to provide two beds (instead of one, which was that was all that was available when we reserved it), to the end, when he left in search of a safety pin to fix a broken pull tab on my carry-on,we discovered a gem- a home away from home in the midst of Queens, where the entire staff provided friendly, cordial service with a warmth that surprised us. Don't believe stories about NYC being a cold, indifferent city. Some neighborhoods take it upon themselves to reach out to a stranger who then leaves as a friend, determined to return again.

« Great place to stay »

Love the fact that the 7 train is just up the block making it easy to commute to NYC for business. Rooms are always clean, well lit and stocked. Staff is friendly, and available at all times. Never feel unwanted or just another guest.

« Close to some interesting venues plus the airport »

I was looking for a hotel that offered shuttle service to LaGuardia and was also within walking distance of public transit, restaurants and interesting places to visit. This fitted the bill on all counts ? plus being clean, comfortable and quiet. Quiet might seem unlikely given that the hotel is smack next to an elevated subway line that runs above busy Roosevelt Avenue, but the building is new and has been constructed to block most noise. We asked for a room facing away from the street and were given one at the back of the building, on the C level, which is just slightly below the level of the lobby and overlooking the breakfast area. We were never disturbed by the sounds of trains or early breakfasters. Rooms are not large, but they provide everything needed ? comfortable bed and pillows, blackout curtains, nice shower with lots of hot water, a small fridge and microwave, TV and a strong wifi signal. If you don't travel with your own computer, there are two near the breakfast area for use by guests, along with a printer if you need to print boarding passes, etc. The shuttle to LaGuardia leaves every hour on the hour; just be in the lobby ten minutes ahead of time. And if you have time to kill between checking out of your room and heading to the airport, you can store luggage with the front desk. Breakfast is included in the room rate and is available between 6 and 9 a.m. It goes well beyond the high-carb, low-protein offerings typical of many hotel chains: expect scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage patties (it alternates), a pot of cooked oatmeal (as opposed to packages that you have to nuke yourself), yogurt and fresh fruit. The breakfast area itself is attractive and spacious, and staff replenishes food as needed. This is a working-class neighbourhood, predominantly Hispanic and off the beaten path for most visitors to New York. It's not pretty or trendy, but it felt safe, even late in the evening, and you'll find plenty of options to try dishes not available at home. We ordered mofongos at a restaurant a few doors away from the hotel, where the waiter didn't speak English but showed us a picture menu. (Googled back at the hotel and learned this is a plantain-based dish from Puerto Rico. Tasty and filling, btw.) There are quite a number of interesting places within walking distance of the hotel. The USTA Billie Jean King tennis centre, home of the U.S. Open, is located in nearby Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. You'll pass it en route to Queens Museum, which has a wonderful display of Tiffany lamps and is also notable for the Panorama of New York, a massive scale model of the five boroughs created for the 1964 world's fair. The Louis Armstrong House Museum is also an easy walk from the hotel. If you're heading to Manhattan, it's just a two-minute walk from the hotel to the 111th Street subway station on line 7, which runs from Flushing to 34th Street-Hudson Yards. The latter is the stop you'll want if you're planning to walk the High Line. It takes about half an hour to get to Hudson Yards on a local train (that's the one with the number 7 in a circle). If you'd rather take an express (the one with the number 7 in a diamond), you'll have to change trains at the next station as the express doesn't stop at 111th Street. Grand Central and Times Square are also on the 7 line. I'm not sure I'd choose this hotel if my main interest was Manhattan, but if you need to be close to LaGuardia or are interested in visiting Queens and want a mid-range hotel, this represents good all-round value.

    « Amazing Stay! »

The whole hotel was clean and quiet, except for the subway noise but the subway is right in front of the building so there's not much they can do about that. They do not have room service but there are plenty of restaurants nearby to order from. The rooms are modern and clean, they also come with a fridge and microwave. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I absolutely loved my stay and will definitely be coming back here.

« Nice facility but location is poor »

Best western quality hotel but in a very noisy, run down area of the city. Value for money is not good. The room was cozy, the hotel staff conscientious, the amenities were as described, the breky was adequate and the shuttle ran on time. The hotel is under the train tracks so there it was noisy as it passed over every 20-40 minutes...hard to sleep.

    4
    « Great value »

The neighborhood is not that great but the hotel is band new and is very close to the subway. You can get to downtown or either airports any time within 30 minutes using the subway. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is great.

    « Great! »

We booked a room here after our flight got cancelled. Took advantage of the free airport shuttle and checked in. The man working the front desk wasn't the friendliest, but we managed to get checked in and into our room. We asked if the area was safe and he said it was, but when we walked around the area looking for dinner it didn't feel too safe. Breakfast was great! Rooms were new, spacious, clean, and comfortable. They were a bit loud as the subway runs right by the rooms.

    4
    « Not bad »

Ok the room is nice the mattress is better than at the Best Western in Queens Court. There is a mini fridge in the room and a safe. There's a microwave as well. The area seems not as nice maybe a little rougher I have not left my room since I got here. They do have a nice display of snacks and drinks for purchase right beside the check in area. There is breakfast served downstairs in the morning. The 7 train subway is 1 block away at 111th street and 7th which isn't bad. It is a bit noisy because the subway goes by right over the street in front of the hotel.

    « Great Hotel! »

We spent one very quiet night here before we flew from LaGuardia home! They offer free parking(wow) and it is a brand new hotel. The shower was wonderful, decor current and very nice. The bed was sooooo comfortable!! Great breakfast-sausage, eggs, fruit, cereal, everything and yummy! The staff was helpful and friendly. I will tell you that the train runs overhead right in front of the hotel, but I never heard or felt the first train, just entering/exiting. They have an airport shuttle also. Thanks Best Western, we'll check you out in other locations!!

« Needed a hotel near sunnyside funeral home »

With short notice we needed to book one night near Sunnyside queens to attend a funeral. The reviews were pretty accurate in that the neighborhood was not very inviting. One surprise however was the elevated train tracks about 20 feet from the front of the hotel. At night one could hear the rumble of the trains going by. Thankfully it was muffled and it sounded like thunder in the distance. The room was clean and the price was fair for the location near the airport.

    4
« Very comfortable, great hotel close to La Guardia »

We needed a hotel near La Guardia that had a shuttle to the airport for an early flight the next day. This hotel was perfect for our needs. New hotel with very clean and comfortable rooms. Even though it was right next to the overhead train, it was amazing how quiet it was. Neighborhood was not great, but it's old Queens, NY, what you would expect. Lots of restaurants within a couple of blocks.

    « Those showers! »

Hotel was way, way nicer than expected for the neighborhood. Very convenient - a short block - to the MTA 7 train, which goes right to Times Square in about 40 minutes. The room was very nice, and the showers were beautiful!

    5
« Nice stay at a good price »

Finding a hotel in NYC is a little intimidating. I am a Best Western person so I tried this one after reading the reviews. Hotel was very nice and only a block from the 7train. I would suggest asking for a room on the back side of the hotel to stay away from the train noise. Have no complaints about the stay and will stay there again.

    5
    « Impressed »

Being unfamiliar with the area we chose this particular hotel because of the proximity to LaGuardia airport and the free shuttle service. While some of the surrounding area is a little less than tidy the hotel is exemplary in its cleanliness. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful since we were unfamiliar with the subway schedules, etc. Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise offering hot items. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and stay there again as well.

« Free shuttle to LGA and the best complimentary breakfast! »

We booked this room for just 1 night returning from Europe before heading home to CO and I have to say it was a very comfortable, enjoyable stay, probably one of the nicest Best Western hotels I've stayed at. The free shuttle to and from LGA was such a bonus after traveling plane, trains, buses, ferries for 2 weeks! (even tho the poor driver on that Friday night had to endure insufferable gridlock and a traffic nightmare unlike any I'd ever seen; even he said it was insane!) But after eating croissants for breakfast for 2 weeks, I was craving a real American breakfast and the breakfast served at this hotel couldn't have been more perfect.... bacon, eggs, waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. etc. anything you could want they had!! The room was so spacious, immaculately clean and fresh looking, with a large bathroom which was such a luxury after European tiny bathrooms! What a great place to sleep comfortably, decompress and head on home! Will definitely stay here again is we need a LGA lay over!

    5
« Very Nice New Hotel »

A very pleasant overnight. Staff was very helpful. Lots of decent inexpensive places to eat close by. Airports are very close and easy to get to with the Hotel Shuttle. We would definitely use this hotel again for another long layover.

    « Anniversary Weekend »

Great place. It's in Queens, so we did commute to the tourist stuff (times square...Broadway. ...) it took about 30 minutes to get to all those things. When we first checked in, we were coming off of an overnight flight and we were tired. The front desk associate allowed us to check in early. We were able to get extra pillows and a blanket... and the awesome thing is the shuttle. We checked out at 11, but still had a late flight. Even though we cheked out, we were still able to take advantage of the shuttle. Awesome place, great guest service, everyone very hospitable. I pre judged this place and didn't expect all the generosity. Thanks for making our 1 year anniversary AWESOME! Also...alot of reviews mention the loud subway. The hotel is LITERALLY right under/next to the subway. I didn't find it too loud, nor did it keep me up at night an we were on the third floor.

    5
« Stayed Here Because of Free Shuttle »

This must be the nicest Best Western I've ever stayed at. Room was exceptional. Everything was brand new, quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately, we were there one night at the end of our trip to Italy. Despite gridlock on the streets around LGA, the shuttle driver found us (departure level, middle island) after a few minutes. It took more than 1/2 hour to get from LGA to the hotel less than two miles away. Traffic on a Friday night was gridlocked. The return to LGA the next morning at 10am was uneventful and only took a few minutes. Forget buying $3 water in the lobby. Walk one block to a little market down the street and get a bigger bottle for 59 cents.

« Stay for a concert at Forest Hills Stadium »

At first we thought it was a little different having a hotel pretty much in the middle of a neighborhood. Though Roosevelt Ave. is mostly commercial, it is surrounded by homes What we experienced was a very clean hotel with an attentive staff. Our room was a nice size with a good sized bathroom. There is a subway station a block away and if you like to run, you can take a few turns around Citi Field. It is a very convenient location to the airport as well. Overall we found it to be a real value and a good experience.

« Great option around Laguardia »

It is a nice, clean, new/newly remodeled place to stay. I only stayed for one night on a business trip so I can't comment on the day experience at the hotel, I did not have the breakfast nor used any of the amenities at the hotel, but I had a comfortable sleep in a clean room and I was out by 6am. The airport shuttle is also a plus. Also, Linda at the front desk was very helpful. I would stay here again.

    2
« Unreliable transfer to the airport »

The major reason we stayed here was because of the shuttle to the airport (which leaves on the hour every hour) between 5am and 12 midnight. We thought it would be stress free and hassle free option! It is now 11:20am and we are still waiting! Going to have to run through the Airport now! What a joke! If we miss our flight I will be updating this review to zero! And seeking compensation.

« Stay for a Retirement party invitation »

This hotel has the best customer service, the rooms are very clean and the the breakfast is was delicious. Very convenience to the subway number 7 and buses. Next to City Field stadium (METS GOGO....) a lot of restaurant in the area.

    « US Open 2016 »

We booked this hotel with the help of a travel agent because of its close proximity to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, Queens and LaGuardia. The stay was marred by a dirty diaper in the room and the lack of towels. When I addressed the issue to the front desk, there was no effort made to make it right with us. We changed hotels.

    3
    « Poor... »

I stayed in this hotel 1 night and spent 2 full days at the US Open. The hotel is located in a very convenient walking distance from both of the entrances to the stadium. Plus if you need to go to the center of Manhattan there's Metro station 1 minute walk away. But it's about only advantage? and disadvantage at the same time, cause the metro bridge is going right outside of your window.. It feels like you're going to sleep and waking up in a train. Maybe you could ask for a room on the other side and it would be better? Also I had an issue with Ice machine right outside of my door, it was working (leaking) very loudly.. The bed was ok, but because of all these noises I had a restless sleep. Parking area is very limited (like about 9-10 spaces)! Thankfully, I got one. Another surprise was waiting for me in the morning, when I got down to the breakfast area at 9:25 and didn't find ANYTHING except cereals and fruits? The woman from staff was cleaning everything up even tho she saw me trying to get food. She didn't ask me if I need something, instead she put away even plates! I had to stop her and «steal» one, but IT WASN'T even 9:30am!! It's ridiculous! You have to educate your staff that it's inappropriate to clean up before the time of the breakfast is over! That's the first time ever I saw this. Even in Comfort Inn they wait like 5-10 extra mins.. So, overall I'm disappointed, probably won't be back...

    4
    « Quieter than expected »

When we arrived I was concerned as the elevated train tracks were within twenty feet of the front door with trains passing every few minutes. However once inside, it was a very quiet hotel in our room. The location is near Citi Field, in a very ethnically diverse neighborhood. The subway/train is just a few blocks away and it was easy to get to Manhattan. The hotel offers free pickup and delivery from LaGuardia airport which was not advertised.

    4
« Close to the airport, easy access to subway »

We used this hotel as a base for a 4 day trip to New York city. They offer a free airport (LaGuardia) shuttle. The subway station (111th street, 7 line) is a block from the front door. That said, if you want a reasonably priced hotel in the New York city area, this might be the one. If you want to walk out of the front door and be in the middle of the action, this will not be what you want. The rooms appear to have been recently remodeled and are appointed appropriately. Since the hotel is close to the rail way, the sound of passing trains is heard; not loud enough to cause problems. The only complaint/suggestion I have is to start the breakfast on time. Upon check-in, we were told the breakfast started at 6:30 AM; a sign in the breakfast areas indicated a 6:00 AM start time. One day we went down at 6:30 AM for breakfast due to an early appointment, the breakfast was not fully set up, i.e: waffles not ready, breakfast meat not ready, no fruit juice. That being the only issue, Allen all the hotel suited all of my needs for this trip. I would recommend this hotel.

« Weekend Getaway from Georgia »

Me and my wife planned a getaway from the kids before we get in holiday season, we chose this hotel because of all the great reviews, and they are very accurate we have been very pleased, and the staff is awesome. We will for sure being coming back here again for the proximity to Laguardia and Citi Field, and the great prices and great customer service. Thanks The Mallard's

    « I'd Go Back »

Very clean property, with a surprisingly good breakfast. (Get there early, before the bacon runs out.) Ask for a room on the back, away from the trains. Also, carry a white noise machine, or download a phone app for white noise. (A nearby street party lasted until 4:00 Sunday morning.) This place is very close to the 7 train stop. It's great for being able to get around.

« Great deal for NY Hotel close to all transportation »

Excellent hotel for the price. Walking distance to US Open and Mets Game. Two blocks from Subway. Best deal I found for Hotel in MY. Very clean and well kept. Shuttle to airport was FAST. Other reviews mentioned Subway noise, had NONE in our room. Back side rooms are the key I think. Great breakfast.

    5
« Great for proximity to Billie Jean King tennis center »

I went with my wife and daughter to attend the US Open and finding a hotel within walking distance was important. In previous years we have stayed at the Parc Hotel and didn't care for it. I saw this hotel as we were leaving last year and booked a room for 2016. This hotel's location is marginal (train noise) but they work hard to mitigate this negative. It is located in an urban, ethnic neighborhood and we never felt unsafe returning at 9:00 to 10;00 PM from the tennis. The staff was engaging and very nice. The breakfast was excellent. We had no issue with the beds and the shower was fabulous. So - the train. We asked for and received a room away from the elevated tracks and we heard very little of the rumble. They provide four news papers in the lobby and the Wifi was excellent in terms of reception and speed. The TV was large and easy to use. My daughter used the fitness center and thought is was very good. My thinking on hotels of this nature is that I plan only on sleeping there so that is the experience I measure. I am not looking for a resort experience. We drove into the city and parked at the mall located at the intersection of Roosevelt and College Point Blvd. The cost was $52 for two + days. There are 10 spots behind the hotel available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call as you approach and they will tell you if any are open. The tennis center is located at the midpoint between this Best Western and the mall parking garage. We toured the neighborhood and there are some fascinating ethnic stores and eateries as you walk due west. You will also find lots of typical NYC grime. We no longer travel to NY for pleasure as it is dirty, loud, cold even on the hottest day -no one dares engage with you. Anyway. We will stay here for future tennis trips.

« Good bargain but no parking & near subway »

I was looking for a hotel to stay close to Laguardia Airport for an early morning flight (not from NY) and found this on Expedia. The price seemed great for a nice looking hotel on the inside. The inside pictures accurately depict what it looks like - very nice accommodations on the inside for the price you get. But it doesn't show the above ground subway that runs right outside the hotel at the level of the first or second floor. It's VERY loud. Interestingly, they did do a good job with insulation considering how loud the subway was. You can hardly hear it from the inside. It says there's free parking but it's very limited and finding street parking was hard. This is the type of place that's nice to stay at if you need a short stay close to Laguardia Airport - but not necessarily a place to stay if you're looking to call it home base for a NYC vacation.

    5
« Good Place to Stay for Airport Shuttle »

We frequently visit NYC and hate the commute (or taxi ride) to LaGuardia. Many motels/hotels with a shuttle are in areas where there are few options for food. This area of Queens might be a little unsettling for some travelers, but my husband and I found the surrounding choices for food quite good. We even had some time the day our flight left and walked to the Louis Armstrong museum. The subway is almost on top of the motel, but once you were inside you didn't hear it. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. We probably will stay here again.

    5
    « Extraordinary Experience! »

From the complimentary transportation provided from the airport to the moment I returned for my flight home, my stay at this Best Western was exemplary! Check-n and check-out were expedient and handled to perfection, as were every detail of the hospitality received. The room was refined and yet, so very welcoming and cozy. Great air conditioning and the shower was awesome! Their lobby and dining area are exquisite and inviting. My only regret was having limited time due to my schedule. I could have stayed forever and loved every instant!

    3
    « Corona stay »

My trip was strictly business, an overnight stay in a Best Western to earn points. The location in Corona was about 5 miles from the office which made it an acceptable location. The hotel itself was okay except for the breakfast, cold eggs and overcooked sausage. The room was fine, the internet connection was excellent. The most significant challenge is parking. There were at best 15 parking spaces in the rear of the hotel and 14 of them were taken when I arrived. Of course, to get to it I had to enter the exit only entrance because the hotel's courtesy van was parked in the entrance. If I have to travel to this office again, I would not stay at this Best Western.

    3
    « BW Corona »

The hotel itself was fine once you're inside the hotel. The biggest challenge I had was the VERY limited parking available. There may have been 15 parking spaces total for a hotel with 5 floors of rooms! It's not an area where you'd want to park your car in the street, definitely not! I was able to grab the last parking space. Even though the above ground L ran in front of the hotel, it didn't bother me when sleeping. I'm a homebody so when I travel I usually will order room service, not available here, but they did have a pretty decent selection of items in the lobby to choose from. I made due with what I found. I guess if your adventuresome you could find a restaurant nearby especially since I was within 1/2 a mile from Citi Park where the Mets play. All in all, it wasn't horrible, just need more customer benefits.

    5
    « Excellent bargain »

This is a fantastic place to stay if you dont want to pay outrageous Manhattan prices. It is 2 blocks from the subway with very easy access into Manhattan. We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is only one year old so everything is new. It's clean, bright and the staff is great. The neighborhood does not have many places to eat but there are so many other choices not too far away. You can cab or Uber anyplace for not much money. When I go back to NYC I will definitely stay here again.

    5
« You will be pleasantly surprised »

When booking any hotel in New York city there is great trepidation, but in this case have no fear, I feel its the best (western) you can do. Any one booking a hotel in this city must understand that with few exceptions all areas are risky I felt fairly safe at this hotel

« Good Option for LaGuardia Airport »

The hotel is close to LaGuardia, offers transport to airport - you have to call for pickup. My room was comfortable and clean. The only small problem for me was that the room was partly below ground and had a damp feel to it like some basements feel.

    « My Review »

This hotel was good for the area and the price. They also offer a shuttle to and from the airport. I called several other hotels in the area and they don't offer the service. The room was updated, clean and modern.

    « Highly recommended »

The hotel feels like new. It is clean, provides a good breakfast and has an excellent location, close to many restaurants with good ethnic food. We stayed for a night to be close to the airport. The hotel even gave us a ride to the airport at not extra cost.

« Best Western Plus LaGuardia Airport Hotel Queens »

This hotel is very nice. It is easy to get to Manhattan from there. The staff are friendly and the rooms are nice. The beds are extremely comfortable. I would prefer a hot breakfast and for it to be available for a longer period of time.

« Good Value Accommodation for NYC Trip »

Was looking for quality accommodation without the Manhattan price tag for my final 3 nights in New York before my 30 hour flight home! Wasn't disappointed. This is a new Hotel with first rate spcious room & facilities. Nice complimentary breakfast too. Surprisingly quiet given it's location next to subway train track (overhead). Location was fine for my purpose, but being located in Corona Queens is certainly not a tourist destination. Subway trip to Times Square is only 30 minutes away & a convenient trip (other than when carrying luggage which requires hauling up stairs to the subway track at the hotel stop). Was a great choice for me & have nothing negative to say. Would consider staying again.

    3
« Convenient to LGA, far from Manhattan - so take your pick »

As other reviews explain, this hotel is quite new (or newly renovated), clean and comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. Room rate includes complimentary in-room wifi, and standard (decent) BWP breakfast in a space that does become crowded. My room was on C level (like a basement), at the back - which is good as it minimizes noise and rumble from the elevated train tracks that are directly in front of the hotel (and very loud if you are walking along the street). For a cheaper hotel convenient to LGA and if you are working in Queens - or seeing the Mets, or tennis etc - this is a good spot. If you are going to Manhattan, go to Manhattan. I was doing the former, so I have no complaints.

« Hotel close to LaGuardia Airport »

The hotel is close to Laguardia Airport. The room was comfortable and on the other of the train tracks. The Wi-Fi worked well. There was a Fridge and Microwave in the room. There was a free transfer to and from the airport. The breakfast was ok and the breakfast room was very small and crowded. The front desk staff were very friendly.

    « A good hotel, a GREAT location »

I discovered this hotel quite by accident. I searched for hotel close to Citi Field and the Long Island Railroad, and stumbled onto this little gem. The hotel looks and feels new. The rooms are small but more than sufficient for one. Ask for a room on the back side of the hotel away from the train tracks. My room was clean, and the bed was VERY comfortable. The hotel is readily accessible by train (#7 stops 1 block away from the hotel), by bus from LaGuardia Airport (Q48 stops one block from the hotel) and the free airport shuttle to either LaGuardia or JFK airports. From the hotel you can easily walk to Citi Field (home of the New York Mets) located less than 1/2 mile straight down Roosevelt Avenue. The Bilie Jean King USTA center is even closer. And Flushing Meadows, NYC's second-largest park, and home to the 1964 Worlds Fair, is just a mile away. Food options, as you might expect in NYC, are plentiful and near-by I really enjoyed my dinner from Moonlight Diner, just a couple of blocks away on Roosevelt. Moonlight Diner is opens 24/7, and has a broad menu of Mexican and American favorites. I highly recommend it as well.

« Real Value near Laguardia »

After staying the week in uptown NYC, I was a bit unnerved as our taxi pulled up in front of this Best Western that my wife booked to get us close to Laguardia at a low price. Much to my surprise and our delight, the hotel is like brand new with friendly staff, a great free breakfast and easy airport shuttle. Desk staff at the hotel spoke perfect English and were very helpful. Thus, my four-star rating. We checked in fairly early so we walked less than half a block to local eateries. I've long-since lost my ability to speak or understand much Spanish, which was a barrier in this Hispanic neighborhood, but people were friendly and helpful. After struggling to make clear our order with the Hispanic waitress, we had a good and low-priced pizza at Victoria's, about 500 feet away. The hotel sits right beside (almost under) busy elevated train tracks, but we barely noticed once inside the hotel. The neighborhood might be intimidating for a typical suburbanite, but we encouraged the young family replacing us on our airport shuttle that they should enjoy a comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again if flying to/from Laguardia.

    « Best Western LaGuardia »

Great staff, very friendly and accommodating. Clean, new decor and rooms. Convenient to airport. Urban neighborhood/ location. Easy access to trains into Manhattan. (Small rooms.) Very little parking. Stores and local restaurants/eateries within walking distance.Daily breakfast is included. Free wifi, business center, and clean fitness center. No laundry room, but service is available. Free hourly shuttle to airport.

« Close to Citi Field - too close to the tracks »

For being right next to the tracks, the sound was actually not terrible. True, it sounded like rumbling thunder every 5-10 minutes. But that wasn't too bad. The hotel is clean and new, within walking distance of some great food places.

    « Comfy beds »

Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, free breakfast and shuttle to LGA airport! Hotel is just a few months old, subway right out the front door, but we never heard a sound from it inside the hotel. Several restaurants that are in easy walking distance, the neighborhood was safe.

    « Very Pleasant Stay!! »

They picked me up at Airport, and our stay was very pleasant. The hotel is super clean. The rooms are a decent size for NYC. The bed was super comfy. The pillows were just as comfy as the bed. Breakfast was decent for FREE. We had a room in the back of hotel on 2nd floor, and the subway sound was not a problem at all. Speaking of the subway. The 7 train is a block west of the hotel, it goes straight to Manhattan. The staff was extremely helpful. Christian who worked the afternoons was very helpful and made our stay spectacular. I highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling via subway while in NYC. If you are driving you might want to look elsewhere. Parking is super limited. The also took me back to LaGuardia at the end of our trip.

« Don't Stay if you want to Sleep »

Hotel was clean although smell of the room was off putting at first. Seems quite clean and bed pretty comfortable for a hotel. Television was nice, room was spacious, bathroom very modern. Continental breakfast was included in our price and was delicious for just a continental, even had fresh waffles you could make yourself in a waffle iron. Cons, not enough parking although I suppose this is to be expected in NYC and location to the train, you could not sleep at all , trains all night constantly rumbling the entire room. I suppose it can't be helped, but don't stay here if you are a light sleeper.

    « Just what we needed . . . »

We stayed overnight in order to get up early and catch a bus to summer camp. Yes, the parking situation is problematic - but the shuttle driver and woman at the front desk helped to make the best of the situation. We were able to squeeze our mini van into the lot - and get it out in the morning. Good breakfast (always love the waffle machine) - and we were on our way. The subway noise isn't quite as bad as the Blues Brothers' apartment in Chicago.

    « Parking is a serious problem! »

This Best Western has a lot going for it: --It's convenient to public transportation --The rooms are comfortable --The service is courteous and responsive --The breakfast is better than average. So why the "Average" rating? The parking situation is TERRIBLE! The Guest Directory says, "Parking is available to all registered guests" but then, two sentences later, it says there are limited spots. When we arrived the one space set aside for people with disabilities was occupied by a car with no "disabled tag." I wrote to the manager and, by our third night, he was able to correct this situation. However, the van the hotel uses to take people to and from the airport parks in the entrance to the parking area (street parking is very limited), requiring guests to enter the narrow exit lane to find out if a parking spot is available. The manager is a reasonable person and he did his best with a difficult situation -but he could not solve it. (During the week we were there, I saw one party cancel their reservation because of the parking problem.) If you do not need a car, this is a very convenient and well run place. If you need a car, go elsewhere!

« Will stay there again! »

Room was small, but all I needed....spotless clean room & bath is #1 requirement, and this place was exceptional. Bed was very comfortable, and sheets were clean and crisp. Breakfast was fantastic! My room was in front, next to the subway, but I was amazed at how quiet it was, considering. They provided ear plugs, but I didn't need them. If I had one negative, it would be their shuttle schedule. They advertise airport shuttle, and I had no problem being picked up when I arrived at LGA. But, when I checked out, and had a very early flight, I was told the shuttle doesn't start until 5 AM, so I had to get a cab. They need to make guests aware of their shuttle schedule in their advertising.

« Great little hotel near airport »

This is a diamond in the rough hotel. Beautifully renovated and the hotel pictures don't do it justice. We were overwhelmed when we arrived. To some people the neighborhood would be scary but late at night we went to a place close to hotel for pizza. They also have Hispanic food and is Victoria's. The front desk suggested we try it. Many locals were watching a soccer game and speaking in Spanish and was very interesting. We have a decent size room and large bathroom in a nicely decorated room. Nice hot breakfast with waffle maker, eggs and bacon, cereals, nice assortment of bagels and pastries, juices, coffee and large seating area! Close to el train that takes you to Manhattan. You can hear the trains but that didn't disturb our sleep it might others. You can get better and more expensive rooms in Manhattan but the price and small inconvenience of a short train ride is worth it!

    3
    « earplugs offered »

Way too noisy. Right along the 24 hour elevated steel subway line. When asked what could be done, desk clerk gave us earplugs!! Did not sleep due to the noise and vibration every few minutes when trains passed each way. Had we known about the line we would not have booked this hotel. Major failing of Best Western to not advise guests about it.

« Wonderful Option to Staying in NYC »

Stayed at Best Western Plus during Spring Break for 4 nights with my daughter (12) and two friends. The rooms are nice and a close walk to the train for easy access into NYC. The staff was very nice, modern rooms and public areas, good breakfast. Our room overlooked the parking lot. I requested a room towards the back because I heard the rooms in the front were noisy due to the train. We did not experience any noise from the train. Refrigerators and safes in room.

« Great place for many types of trips »

We stayed here for two nights of sightseeing in NYC after going to a wedding upstate. This hotel was great for our needs- close to the subway- 1/2 block from 111th St. station on 7 line 25 min. to Manhattan. Excellent value, great brand new hotel with nice rooms, good free breakfast, and free shuttle service. The shuttle driver picked us up right from the car rental return place and then when it was time to leave took us back to Laguardia. It took less than 30 minutes to get from the hotel lobby to the airport, through security, and to our gate. Also took a walk around the nearby neighborhood and ate at several restaurants- nothing fancy but very safe and busy with people walking about at all times. Would be great for people flying into/out of Laguardia, going to a Mets game, or wanting to avoid paying high Manhattan hotel rates but still having a nice place to stay. Only suggestion would be to request a room on the opposite side of the elevated subway line. Ours was and we could barely hear it but it might be a bit louder on the street side.

« Great bed; poor parking »

If you don't need good parking, it has most comfortable bed and services. Staff were very nice, but not helpful with parking, but what could they do? It's New York City. Street is located under elevated railroad, but really, didn't hear this noise in the room, just as you entered (scary).

« Belmont Stakes and NYC »

Used this hotel as our base for 3 days in New York. Right by the subway to Times Square. Breakfast was decent, and hotel shuttle to airport was awesome. Room was well appointed with small fridge and microwave. Will use this hotel for a future trip to see a game at Cities Field.

    « Highly recommend »

I rarely bother reviewing properties, but I felt that this one stood out and needed to be reviewed. We stayed here for one night to go to a concert at Citi Field. Firstly, it was extremely close to the park - perhaps a 5 minute walk. It looked to me to be the closest hotel to the park (at least the closest one between the airport and the park on the Corona side - versus on the Flushing side). The room was spotless. It wasn't huge, but not small at all and nicely furnished. The bed was extremely comfortable. The linen were crisp and clean and of very high quality. I especially liked the fact that there was a large shower with a glass door, rather than a bath tub. I have no idea why all hotels don't do this. It is so much more pleasant than dealing with a shower curtain and having to step into a tub. Does anyone really use a tub in a hotel ??? - perhaps only parents with young kids. Even the shampoo/conditioner were great - they were Pantene. They even had mouthwash! The hotel itself looks small and unimpressive, but don't let that bother you. It is right under a subway track (first I've ever seen), but you literally could not hear a thing from inside the hotel. We didn't use the subway, but I would imagine it is very convenient for those that are using it. There was a terrific mexican restaurant just half a block from the hotel (away from the park). It was open late and we ate there after the concert. I can't remember the name, but i would highly recommend it. It was reasonable, portions were large and the food was great. The staff at the hotel were very nice. The shuttle driver even battled the trafffic and came to pick us up (and others from the hotel) after the concert. We just found him waiting on the side of the road as we made our way out of the park. It was necessary, but very nice. They also provided us with a free shuttle to the airport. I missed breakfast, which ended at 10 am and only made it down at about 10:10 when they were cleaning up. The woman there was very nice and gave me a few things that she had already put away. She was very pleasant about it as well and didn't seem in any way annoyed, even though I wouldn't have blamed her if she was. Overall, I think anyone staying here, especially to go to Citi Park, would be very happy. I will warn that I noticed widely fluctuating prices at the typical 3 star hotels in the area (this one, holiday inn, fairfield, hampton etc). I think the prices fluctuate a great deal based on occupancy rates. For example, I saw the Holiday Inn at $150 and the next day at $275. If the price seems very high, I would keep checking back or check various websites.

« Stayed here for Beyonce concert »

Stayed here for one night. Clean, staff is nice, close to Citi Field stadium (5 min walk). Train is nearby. They offer toiletries if you forget yours. They have a shuttle that can pick you up and drop you off at the airport. Just make arrangements with the front desk prior to your arrival or departure. There is free parking in the back. The room I stayed in was handicapped accessible which means my bathroom was huge. Only saw a small spider in the bathroom. Other than that the place was clean. It also has a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Great hotel and I would stay here again if I needed to.

    4
« Close to Citi Field »

You can easily walk to the ballpark, but if you're driving to the hotel be aware of the limited off-street parking. The elevated trains run close to the hotel, but my room in back didn't seem to get much of that noise. The hotel was close to the highways, and I found it easy to find, and get back on the road after the game.

« Weekend in the City »

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. Maybe I was just lucky during my stay, but no complaints here. We arrived about an hour early, no problem our room was ready. I asked for parking, they had 1 spot left (yes the hotel has free parking but there is only about 10 spaces). I am a super light sleeper, I packed ear plugs and was prepared for a horrible nights sleep, but to my surprise I slept like a baby. Our room was on the second floor on the back of the hotel. I am sure if I was on the second floor at track level my stay might have been different. I walked too and from Citi field as well as too and from the subway late at night with no problems. My wife and I really enjoyed our weekend in NYC, the free breakfast is nice. Very clean hotel! I would defiantly go back, if my same experience came be duplicated.

    « First NY stay »

If you don't mind the air train noise, its a nice place to stay. Good proximity to Manhattans on the train. Clean environment. Located in the heart of Queens. Some of the staff are helpful and some not so helpful..I dont know if its the culture in Queens. Breakfast was alright... nice coffee. Will probably stay there again as it is not so expensive.

    « Nice Hotel »

I stayed here 2 nights and the room was very clean and looked relatively new. The microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker all worked fine. Shower was perfect. The front desk staff was very professional and friendly. Lots of places within walking distance to eat. Some people might be nervous outside the hotel at night, but I didn't have any problems. 111th. Street "7" train (above ground subway) close by. As others have said the train is noisy but I thought it was authentic New York and didn't bother me a bit. Who goes to New York for peace and quiet. Shuttle driver to the airport was prompt and courteous. I didn't try the breakfast.

Very much pleased with the stay at this hotel. The hotel manager and staff is very professional and friendly. They care for customers. « Would stay again »

Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband while visiting NYC. Hotel is a short walk to the 111st street subway stop. Hotel is new and well soundproofed. Our room overlooked the subway line and we could barely hear it. The bed was also extremely comfortable. Great breakfast with fresh fruit. They convert the breakfast area to a sports bar with beer and wine at night which was a nice touch. I was a little nervous walking to the subway stop but it was fine. Would recommend.

« Lovely hotel, when I visit New York again will stay again »

This hotel was really clean and includes a hot breakfast with helpful staff. Upon arriving at the airport, I called into the hotel and requested the shuttle. The shuttle came fairly quickly and the driver was very helpful. At the front desk, check-In was quick and was able to get to my room with no problem. The room was nice, included a microwave and fridge. Wifi was good too, no trouble connecting. The gym is located on "C" floor and I was very impressed. The machines are fairly new and they work as they should!! Rare to find a functional gym in the hotel with working machines. While at New York, I decided to take in some sights with the family. Didn't rent a car, so I decide to take the Subway. The #7 Subway is like a 3min. walk away up the stairs on 111 st. Bought the Metro card, it was $2.75 but includes all transfers within the Subway system to get to your destination. I just out $20 on it and added more as needed. The routes, take a little getting used to but what I did is downloaded a copy of the MTA subway routes on my phone. You can always ask an MTA employee if your confused on which route to take. I visited the Statue of Liberty, Chinatown, Central Park, Times Square, all by Subway. So having one close to the hotel was definitely a big plus. I also used the Subway and a bus to get to the Bronx Zoo. Pretty efficient system, I paid for 4 fares at the Subway station. When I got to the bus station(Q44) on 38th st, there is a machine with the bus # on it. You simply put in the Metro card you used to get on the Subway and it automatically prints out the transfers. Very nice system! Anyway, this review is about the hotel so, all in all very good hotel! My wife had 1 problem, which was the subway noise since it is so close to the subway track. They do provide ear plugs if you desire. I didn't have any issue with it but that's just me. Don't hesitate to reserve.

    « good airport hotel »

this hotel is a clean, safe and up-to -date conveniently located place near La Guardia airport. There is a free airport van shuttle although it only operate until midnight. There is no parking even though I was told there was some and had to park out on the street. Neighborhood is fine though so not a big problem and one can park out on the street for a week as long as you return in time to change sides of the street for your car, which is thursday or Friday in this area. The shuttle should really run much later as flights are delayed and come in late per schedule.

« Good airport close to LGA »

This Best Western Plus on Roosevelt Avenue, Corona is a couple of miles from LGA. It is new and really clean. It is however, along a major road very close to the elevated train railway. It was really audible and loud at the lobby. Our room was on the 4th floor facing towards the stadium and away from Roosevelt Avenue so we barely heard the train noise. Breakfast was included but they start serving at 6:00 a.m. We had to catch an early morning flight so we could only grab a cup of coffee which is available 24 hours. It would have been nice if they could brown bag a goody for guests who catch a very early flight. I've checked into some airport hotel who offers this kind of service. Airport shuttle was on time. No traffic on a Sunday morning. It was hassle and stress free.

« Trains were not an issue »

When we checked in and were told there were no rooms at the back of the hotel, I was very nervous after reading other reviews about the trains. Our room was on the 4th floor right at track level. Truthfully, we were amazed when the trains started going by right outside our window and we could hardly hear them. The provided ear plugs weren't even taken out of the package. This was a big relief and surprise. One complaint was that when we arrived at noon, we were told there was a room available but we'd have to either pay $35 for "early checkin" or join the Best Western Rewards program for free. We chose the latter option. A previous review had complained of the $35 fee and the response from the hotel management had indicated this fee had been discontinued. Apparently not. The staff were not friendly at all. Never a smile on their face or a hello when we would walk back in right by the front desk. Whatever, to each his own. Also, the housekeeping after the first night left a little to be desired as we had used the ice bucket the night before and it was left as is and no wash clothes were left. I recognize those are very minor complaints and had negligible impact on my stay. I would without question stay here again.

« Great Location for the Mets Game »

This hotel was clean. Everyone was helpful and went out of their way to be kind. I really appreciate the service that I was given. If you are going to a Mets Game this is the perfect location. When I had questions about the Subway or the Train each employee took the time to explain the best way to get to where I was going.

« Modern, clean and friendly »

This hotel was very clean and had extremely helpful staff . Starting with a very friendly front desk staff to a handyman that came up to fix my remote ( it wasn't really a remote it was a sensor on tv) he was up within minutes !! Very nice and professional . Inside the rooms they also left ear plugs just to block out any noise , being I am a New Yorker noise doesn't really bother me but it is a nice touch fit out of towners. This hotel also offered continental breakfast with a nice spread and 24/7 free coffee and business center . All in all , for the area and the price I was extremely pleased, pleasantly surprised and happy ! Ps walksble distance to citi field, us open , 7 train and a free courtesy shuttle to laguardia airport what else could you want ???

« Great price, nice room but a bit noisey »

I stayed at this best Western and was impressed by the rooms and overall condition. The hotel is new and rates were great for the area and hotel. Only drawback is the subway that passes early and late and can be heard inside the room. Put those earplugs and go to sleep.

We spent only 1 night. I choose it beacuse it is near the airport and their shuttle service. It is very close subway station and few miles from the airport. Room were big and clean. Staff very friendly and airport shuttle very helpfull. it takes approx 30 minutes to get downtown by subway so it could be taken in consideration for a cheaper accomodation for the big apple.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

I stayed at this hotel via Priceline, and was pleasantly surprised! The hotel shuttle was very nice and very clean. A kind, friendly driver as well. My room was just great. Very clean, everything like-new. It had free wifi, a fridge, and a microwave. Very large TV. Coffee maker. Comfy, comfy bed. Non annoying A/C. My room was located in the back of the hotel - I couldn't really hear the train at all - but I did see that earplugs were provided. All in all, a great experience. I will recommend this hotel to friends and family, and will be back. I come through LGA quite often. Thank you!

« excellent value for price »

I booked this hotel for only 1 night stay during my NY visit, and booked rest of my stay in some other hotel in Times Square. As we were arriving in la Guardia in late night (10 pm) I was searching for a hotel with moderate price range close to Laguardia Airport. So I booked this hotel without reading much review since this was only 1 night stay. I was plesanty surprised with the quality. The rooms are very clean and huge and equipped with fridge and microwave, the carpet is new and spotlessly clean. bathroom is a spacious, the nearest subway stop is only 2 minutes walk, and Times Sq is only 20 minutes in Subway. The front desk staffs are nice and warm. The interior decor of the hotel is also very nicely done. I am very glad I chose this hotel, and would obviously stay here again.

The hotel is close to the airport and they have a shuttle. It is also less than a block from the subway. « excellent hotel, great value »

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for eight nights in March, 2016. The hotel is new and clean with very friendly staff. We used it as a base and made day trips to Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. An overhead railway runs down the street in front of the hotel and the MTA railway (subway) station is about two hundred yards from the hotel door. A typical trip to downtown Manhatten took 45 minutes to an hour and the connections were excellent. On the street in front of the hotel the overhead railway is quite noisy. We had a room in the back of the hotel and although we could feel the rumble when trains passed, it was not a problem for sleeping. The breakfast buffet was typical for a Best Western hotel and quite satisfactory. The buffet staff were friendly and helpful. The local neighborhood is run down and primarily Hispanic. We saw no evidence of crime and were quite comfortable walking to the train station and back. The people on the street and the train were hardworking Hispanics and Asians going to and returning from work in the city. I've made many previous trips to NYC on business, and had always stayed in Manhattan and typically paid $300 to $400 a night for a run down hotel. This hotel is excellent at a fraction of the price of a poorer hotel in Manhattan. A great bargain.

    « Queens Hotel That's Actually Good! »

Although it seems the hotel is located in an unusual area; it's actually in the middle of a family neighborhood by the train tracks. The food vendors, that are tasty, and are within a block of the hotel. There's always a good food truck nearby until 5am! The train line, within a block of the hotel, into the city takes under 30 minutes to get into Manhattan, so a weekly MTA pass is worth the $20 and you avoid all the non-sensical traffic. This property surprised me and is well appointed. The staff was friendly, prompt, and always greeted me with a smile. Being in the event management industry, I look for a variety of things to rate a hotel this high. They deserve it. Oh and the room was very clean. I check corners, behind the doors, all the unusual places that aren't always clean, and this hotel was on point! No issues at all. I ended up coming back to stay at this hotel the day before my flight because LaGuardia is very close. I got to sleep in late and take the free shuttle back.

The hotel is new but noisey. The hotel was built under the subway line. The common area is open to all of the roofs which have thin doors. Guests have to speak very loud in the common areas due to the subway. Loud conversations carried on to the early morning.

    « Comfortable and convenient. »

We arrived shortly after midday, and were told that early check-in would cost an additional $35. I thought that this practice had gone out of style. The receptionist did offer to store our bags, but as we needed to change and get ready to go out, we opted to pay. Parking is free at the hotel, but there are only 10 spots. If you are lucky, it will save you the angst of parking on the street. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of this property - from the lobby, hallways, the room. The sheets were crisp and clean, mattress and pillows comfortable. The remote was clean and nicely bagged, bathroom spotless, linen soft and thick. Wi-fi was strong and reliable. The hotel is almost underneath the elevated #7 train line, (convenient to Manhattan) so you will hear the rumbling. We were at the side of the building and could hear them. While I wasn't bothered, my husband wasn't able to sleep much. To make matters worse, we were awakened early the next morning to some sort of construction noise. There was a worker in the foyer area chipping floor tiles. 7am on a Sunday morning? Not cool. I brought it to the attention of the FD agent that it disturbed not just us, but other guests we talked with at breakfast. She said she did try to ask him to stop but he didn't speak English. Seriously? Breakfast was typical of free breakfasts- scrambled eggs, sausages, breakfast breads, cereal, fruit, juices, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and make-your-own waffles. Maybe I will stay here again in the future. It's not a bad deal.

    « works well »

be prepared for the location. it's not right in the airport. its about a mile away, under the el. so you'll get clattering trains and also some urban grit that might put you off or add a little spice depending on your take. you'll have to call to get the van to come to the airport & pick you up. the benefit of the location is the same el that is clattering by - you're a block away from access to the nyc subway system. on the inside i found everything up to date & working well. the staff is friendly & helpful. this is no resort, but if you have business in nyc & want to be near lga while also accessing the nyc subway this is as good as it gets.

« Warm Welcome, Clean New Property, Convenient to LGA & Manhattan »

I had somewhat mixed feelings about staying in this location as we only had one night and really wanted to visit Manhattan in the short time we had. First - the hotel is very nice. It's new and the staff were great, it had more of a B & B feel to it than a more formal hotel. The hotel is in an English as a Second Language neighbourhood which some reviewers think of as "iffy". I'm an urban dweller in a large international city and I see this area as "new American" not "iffy". There are young moms pushing prams around, so I didn't see this as a worrying place to stay. Second - The Train #7 is literally right at the door, elevated, but right there, so ask for a room at the back. We had #111 and didn't hear a darned thing and I am a light sleeper. The #7 takes you to Times Square, which is about a 30 minutes journey and costs $3 each way. Station is one block away and up some stairs. EASY. Rooms are fairly spacious for an urban location and very clean and very, very new. King bed was super comfy with lovely crisp white linens. Wifi was included in the room rate. A light breakfast is also included which listed waffles, oj, coffee/tea, fresh fruit, dry cereal, scrambled eggs, toast. I had the coffee and a banana. My husband had juice and cereal. We were very satisfied. Thank you BW. We took a taxi from the LaGuardia car rental area (Alamo) and it was $20 including tip. Back to the airport was $20 including tip. Short trips. The deciding questions are always: "Would you recommend to a friend?" and "Would you stay here again?" Definite Yes on both counts. Lastly - many thanks to the nice lady at the front desk who let us check out late, 1:00pm on Monday as we visited Manhattan in the morning before catching the 3:00pm flight out west. Much appreciated!!!

« great interior , poor customer service »

The location of this hotel wasn't the greatest but it was convenient being that is right next to citifield , subway station, and LaGuardia airport. The shuttle drivers were very polite , the rooms were very clean although the view was horrible. My view was railroad tracks. I was greeted and checked in by the front desk agent named stephanie, she was very helpful and accommodating. There was also a female front desk agent named linda who was also helpful as well.Ii needed help with the wifi because for some reason it was not working from my room and she ended up connecting all my electronics from the front desk. However the service in the morning was so disgusting and shocking. During my checkout ,There was another female front desk agent in the morning named nataly and she was very rude and very sarcastic. I was very unhappy and wanted to speak with the manager but fortunately for her the manager so happened to be away from his desk. Great customer service goes a long way and horrible customer service will not be forgotten.

« Perfect location for subway to Manhattan - literally 25 minutes from exiting the hotel to Times Square »

The hotel was excellent for value and decor. The neighborhood is a bit iffy, yet never did I fell threatened, but cautious. The room and breakfast were great, for value and location this hotel rates superb. The manager is to be commended for his attention to guests and to detail. We stayed for 6 nights and were treated by all as if we were family. My daughter had a challenge with the noise from the room adjoining, yet the management tried to resolve issue, not really able to resolve, this could happen anywhere and the manager explained in detail their process for handling this type of nuisance.

    « Terrible Customer Service »

The room and location are perfect! The room was very clean. The reason that I gave this hotel the lowest rating possible is due to customer service. There are 2 non-negotiables for me during a hotel stay: 1. Cleanliness 2. Customer service. While they hit a home run on the cleanliness, the customer service is HORRIBLE!!! Every single person that I spoke to at the front desk needs to be fired. They appear to be doing you a favor. They ate not engaged nor do they care to greet a customer and much less to help a customer. The two that were by far the worst were Katherine (during the day) and Stephanie (at night). I am a Best Western Diamond Rewards Member but will never stay here again. It is a disgrace that the manager allows these employees to treat customers in this manner. My wife and I were not the only ones to be treated this way. While waiting for a friend to pick us up, I paid attention to their interactions with other customers and they were just as horrible.

« Great for last minute travelers! »

I have stayed at this hotel twice now. The first time thru Hotels.com booking when flight cancelled. The subway/train tracks are right in front of the hotel. Yes, a bit noisy, but the experience of being in NYC!!! Once I fell asleep, I did not wake up because of the train noise. The second time, I booked hotel directly and was as pleased the second time! The attendants and the shuttle driver helped us plan out a quick one night visit to Times Square and what to see in the limited time we had. Very nice stay and we will be back!

    « Close to LGA »

Front desk young lady, Natalie was super nice, friendly & helpful. Manager was also very nice. The hotel is nicely decorated & comfortable. Is very close to La Guardia Airport & they offer a free shuttle every hour. Very convenient. And even though they have 3 tracks of trains passing by they have sound proof windows & we barely heard them pass by. They also serve wine & beer in the lounge at night. I would stay here again.

    1
« Do not stay at this hotel »

The hotel is over the train tracks and the trains run 7/24. I will never ever use hotels.com for a booking as we were locked into this horrible hotel after a flight cancellation and barely slept all night. The breakfast was merger but the room was clean.

    2
« Very noisy,, next to train tracks »

I thought I'd found the perfect hotel for early flights out of/late flights into La Guardia. Close, fast response from the shuttle, coffee and tea all the time, clean, nice room, comfortable bed. Breakfast is offered but since we had to leave before it was served, I can't comment on that. There is free internet, though it took me a bit to get connected...the desk clerk with the attitude problem wasn't any help. I was happy as can be until the first train went over the tracks...sounded so close but it was about two blocks away. And they went all night. If you can sleep through this kind of racket, this place might work. The morning clerk admitted that all the rooms were 'a bit noisy' which was a major understatement. I had hoped that the desk clerk had just given me a bad room, but not the case.

« Stayed overnight between flights from Italy back to Colorado »

I booked this hotel thru Priceline because it was close to the airports , but then realized that I booked the wrong day . We called the hotel and they were so accommodating and helpful . They had a room and talked to Priceline to fix it . It was our last hotel night after a 10 day trip to NYC and Italy . We were exhausted . The bed was AMAZING and we had the best night sleep in 2 weeks . Very very nice decor and the staff was BEYOND helpful , cheerful and thoughtful . Natalie and Julia were lovely and I can't tell you how much we appreciated that ! My husband and I had both caught a cold on our trip and just weren't feeling well . The breakfast was good , the hotel is extremely clean and efficient. The room had a large flat screen tv with cable and everything we needed . Free wifi too . We arrived late in the evening after a 10 hour flight from Italy and were hungry . The gentleman at the front desk recommended a Chinese place that delivered and he gave us a menu . It was very good and delivery prompt . Free shuttle back to airport the next day was great ! New shuttle van and courteous prompt driver . Don't let the overhead subway track in front of the hotel sway you ... We never heard a peep inside the hotel , great insulation and windows ( unlike my Manhattan hotel stay in which I had to wear ear plugs ) Great unassuming hotel ! I'll stay there when I go back to NYC , even if it's not close to Manhattan . It's worth it ! Thank you to the staff !

    « Extended Stay -- Pretty Good. »

My stay was quite pleasant, until the blizzard of January 2016 brought in some weirdos. The staff was accommodating and pleasant. The fitness center was pretty good. Parking is tough, if it's busy. However, they offer a voucher enabling you to park at the hotel directly across the street. The train didn't bother me, because I had a rear room. When my TV went out, they switched my room immediately. Overall I had a good stay. The neighborhood is pretty busy, including foot traffic. Restaurants are in walking distance. Caveat: stay away from Los 3 Potrillos unless you speak Spanish or have a translator or interpreter.

    4
« The range of rates »

I noticed the rates for this hotel are usually in the low one hundreds. During the US Open they go up at least 2/12 times. Rates are almost if not $300. I understand increasing rates for special events but I think that is a little excessive. I know I've stayed at other hotels that do not increase rates that much. I think it is a shame.

« Look past the facade. »

I stayed here on business recently. The hotel is new but remarkably poor in execution. Pros: 2 blocks from the 7 subway line. Excellent bathroom. Comfortable bed. Nice TV. Airport shuttle. Cheap. Cons: carpets stink, refrigerator had leftover food, 1st floor rooms very noisy. Fitness room: lights broken (I had to exercise with a room floor lamp), equipment broken, tvs are misplaced. My room was so dank I was wary of walking barefoot.

    « Surprisingly Great! »

This was an unexpected stay as we were unable to fly back home on our original flight. We booked this hotel because they had a shuttle to and from the airport, which is very convenient, as we pulled up to the property it looked like it's probably less than a year old. It's very modern, the rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We ended up staying a couple of nights because the weather back home delayed all the flights. The neighborhood felt safe, I went out around midnight to grab some food from a food truck about a block away and never felt unsafe. There are A LOT of really good Colombian bakeries and restaurants within a block, you will not be disappointed. The train is about a block away, so it was convenient as we went back into the city to explore during the extra day we had. They are also a short walk from City Field, so as we plan our Mets trip this summer, we will more than likely stay here.

    « Nyc »

The hotel was nice and clean. Service was OK. Breakfast was not bad. Right across from subway station. What I didn't like was that it was too noisy because of subway trains. The bed was too soft for me. The shuttle will pick you up from airport only if you call them. You can stay at Marriott LGA for about the same price and much better hotel. Average hotel not bad but not good.

    « Drove right past »

The one star isn't for inside the place or the staff. I couldn't do it. I must not have read far enough in the reviews when booking this for my night-before-my-flight-home stay. Not only did I drive up to a place literally next to the noisy trains that were overwhelming as I was driving under them to the entrance but the crammed street showed no signs near the hotel of a parking area/entrance. And since it was pitch black when I drove up the neighborhood just looked scary. Traveling alone and female I bit the cost and booked in Flushing.

« USELESS STAFF, NOISY TRAIN STATION NEARBY »

Before booking this hotel on Expedia I made sure to call reception and ask if they offer free shuttle to JFK. I received affirmative answer. When we landed and called the hotel they informed us they dont do JFK pick ups. So we had to spend extra $ 80 for a round trip taxi. When we arrived, an indifferent receptionist was half asleep, very much like a person who was on the phone with me when I asked her about JFK pick up. She greeted us and without any questions or explanations assigned us a room on C level(?) which turned out to be a level BELOW lobby with rooms that had no windows(!) I travel 3 months out of a year and I was not aware such room exists. We eventually got a regular room ABOVE SEA LEVEL. Worst customer service ever. Loud trains nearby. I dont understand how this place got such good reviews.

« Great stay for the US open »

Stayed here for the US Open in September. It was really convenient to stay close to the stadium and skip all the hassle with parking and traffic! The only downside is the metro line that runs just over the hotel. Try to get a room on the back of the hotel, it's less noisy!! Also the neighborhood feels quite unsafe, so we did not dare to walk around searching for restaurants. We had delivered to the room. All in all, it's a great place to stay if you are in town for sports events in the stadiums nearby!!!

« New LGA hotel, sleep was good! »

New hotel nice decor, stayed due to early flight from LGA. The shuttle has hours of operation, important to check prior if this is important to your needs. I did not use the subway, but near #7. My flight was too early, did not eat here. I am a light sleeper, was concerned about noise from trains. I use ear plugs at most hotels in cities. I was happily surprised my room #405 met my needs. Interactions with front desk, was efficient, acted appropiately to requests.

    « Disappointing Experience »

I checked into this hotel with my family on 12/10/15. In the beginning of my stay, my experience was going good. The hotel was clean and the room was comfortable. The following day, I called to the front desk more items needed. I was told someone would be up shortly to deliver the items. After 20 minutes of no one coming to my room with the items, I called back to the front desk to request the items again. It came time to leave and the items were never delivered. As I was checking out, the front desk clerk asked if I had received the items I requested. I let her know they had not and that was pretty much it. No apology or anything was offered for the inconvenience. After we left, a clerk contacted me about a "missing" iron from our room. I let them know that not only had we not taken an iron but none of the requested items had been delivered to my room. I was then told that they had video of the items being delivered to our room and that my credit card would be charged for the missing iron. I let the clerk know that absolutely did not happen and no one ever delivered anything to my room. I even let them know I was coming back to the hotel to see this "video" they had of someone delivering the items. I went back to the hotel and it was a different story. The front desk clerk let me know the iron had been found but I had to go back to the hotel to find that out. Again, there was no apology or anything offered for the false accusations and stress of the situation. I have never had an experience like this at any hotels I have ever stayed. I'm still in shock about the whole ordeal. I would stay clear away from this particular Best Western establishment.

    « Best Kept Secret »

I travel extensively for both business and travel and am extremely picky about hotel cleanliness, safety, hospitality, comfort, noise, etc. This hotel is a gem and likely not well known. Whether traveling on business or pleasure, most would not consider a hotel on the fringes of the city due to the perceived difficulty commuting back and forth. Hotels in Manhattan are priced three to four times higher than this Best Western In Queens. The property is new and they have done a tremendous job with the interior. Getting to Manhattan and back is so easy as the train station is about half a block from the hotel so walking is a snap. Many of the reviews included comments about the train noise (the hotel is literally right under the train tracks). While there is no denying that one can hear the constant sound of trains, the hotel is really quite sound proof, particularly if you get a room on the back side away from the tracks. We rarely noticed the train sound and slept very well both nights we were there. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Hands down, this hotel represents true value. We were in and out of Manhattan and back to our room in no time at all and the entire experience was terrific. Would stay there again without question! Very nice hotel stay!

« A decent hotel, given NYC's usual expensive rates »

This hotel was comfortable, a decent price (given the city), and only a block away from the 11th Street stop on the 7 train. Our room had a refrigerator, microwave, and Direct TV (although the DTV reciever was on the back of the dresser and hard to get to with teh remote). The bathrooms have all the usual toiletries, but also had a mini sewing kit with some replacement buttons! That was kind of neat. Free continental breakfast is available from 6-9am. This hotel is close to Citi Field, Flushing Meadows Park, and is two subway stops away from Downtown Flushing, where you can get all sorts of delicious Chinese food. The only possible downside to this hotel is that it is directly in front of an elevated train platform. If you are a light sleeper, I suggest you bring ear plugs. If you can get a deal on this hotel, go for it. It's comfortable and convenient. I believe there is parking in the back of the building, but I don't know. I took the train into the city.

    3
« Nice hotel but Loud »

This a new hotel that is very nice, the rooms are great! There is a big but! The hotels location is right next to the train. It is so loud it is hard to hear when talking in the lobby. I was on the 5th floor on the train side. It was loud and my bed shook. I am lucky that I am a deep sleeper. If you decide to stay there make sure you stay in the basement or on the opposite side of the train. Breakfast is included and it was good. Staff was friendly If you are not a light sleeper the hotel is good value.

    4
    « Rate Range »

Rates are very high and competing with Laguardia airport Marriott. Need to be reasonable. Place is clean and the staff is very friendly and courteous. Breakfast is average and plain. Parking is very challenging and limited. The parking lot requires better lighting and possibly some mirrors too maneuver the very tight corners.

« Great Hotel, convenient to Citi Field and 7 train »

Booked this last minute while world series was going on at City Field. Go Royals! I was a little sceptical of the hotel being that it was in the location this close to Citi Field and it still had room. The shuttle from the airport was efficient and well maintained. Our room was on the side of the hotel and we could hear some noise from the train but it was very acceptable. The hotel was very clean and everything was well kept. The room was not very large but good size for a New York hotel. Breakfast was food with eggs Bacon Sausage and waffles as welll as the standard continental items. I would definitely come back here if I needed a hotel in this area or were attending an event a citi field or the US Open Tennis Complex.

    « Pleasant Surprise »

I stayed here 10/30/15 - 11/02/15. I was kind of iffy about staying here based on the reviews of it being noisy. We stayed in a room facing the train and it actually wasn't bad. The noise didn't bother us and we were able to sleep through the night. The room was clean and modern, a little smaller than I'm used to but it did have a microwave and small fridge. The breakfast was just okay and they only have like 10 parking spaces but the price and location make up for it. Overall I enjoyed my stay, nice and clean hotel with courteous staff.

« What You Need To Know »

This review is based on a multiple night stay in a rear-facing room. See #9 in list. 1. Hotel is new, modern design; very clean and comfortable rooms. 2. Complimentary breakfast of usual hotel offerings; all day coffee 3. Microwave and refrigerator in room; big flat screen tv, lots of channels. 4. Complimentary WiFi signal is good; business center with printer also available. 5. Hotel staff friendly, courteous, and helpful. 6. Airport shuttle to LGA (I came into JFK and took AirTrain + subway). 7. Nearby restaurants (Hispanic, Chinese) and grocery store. 8. Directly down the street from 111th Street MTA #7 line (less than a block away). 9. At this location, the #7 line is an elevated track that runs directly in front of the hotel. If your room faces the front, be aware of the noise potential. Rooms facing the backside of the hotel will only hear a muffled noise from passing trains. This muffled noise was not problematic for sleep. 10. Felt comfortable walking along Roosevelt Ave (also at night from train to hotel) as well as walking around 111th St, 114th St, and over to Flushing Meadows-Corona Park (site of 1964 World's Fair).

« Very good choice if you are a Mets fan »

We picked this hotel for its location at a walking distance from Citi Field, Mets ball park. We did not regret it. The staff is friendly, the breakfast correct even if it closes early on week days. The room was large for two Queen beds. The service was great. We were pizza delivered and it went smoothly. A few local restaurants do deliver this hotel and it is convenient. You even have a Papa John's pizza Button on your room phone. It is still near the Subway 7 Line you can see from your room but the noise is bearable and it is convenient to go to New York inner city. Definitely a good stay even if I am not fond of the neighborhood.

    « Had a great stay »

Stayed here from October 23 thru October 30, 2015. Found this to be a great choice, rooms were spacious and extremely clean. Staff was welcoming and professional. The free shuttle from LaGuardia was a big plus. We used the business center to print our boarding passes, and had the complimentary breakfast a few mornings. We were on the second floor in the back of the property and were not bothered by any noise associated with the 7 train. The nearest subway stop was a very short walk and as two women coming back to the hotel very late at night, always felt safe. We would not hesitate to stay here again. A great value and am looking forward to our next visit.

« Good value and convenient location »

When you come upon this hotel, your heart sinks because you realize you are right next to a NYC subway line and on a stretch of Roosevelt Avenue that is hardly pleasant. However, things gets better after that initial impression because the staff is pleasant and the lobby design is quite striking and interesting. The room was small for a king-sized bed but it was attractive and very comfortable, especially the bed. The included breakfast was not bad at all for NYC and the parking lot, though small, was not full and a great convenience.

    2
    « Very disappointed »

I didn't have really high expectations going into this hotel yet I was still disappointed. I guess the room wasn't that bad - it was clean. It was small, but not ridiculous. What ruined the entire experience for me was the noise. All the rooms on the front side of the hotel face the train line that runs across the street. I mean, the train ran right outside my window every few minutes all night long. Maybe some people are used to this noise, but I'm not. Where's the noisy hotel room fan/AC when you need it?!? The breakfast was worthless. I was there long before it was set to close, but they were out of most of the food. And there was no fresh fruit either. Really?!?

    « Happily Surprised »

Not having been in Flushing for many years, but aware that this location was next door to CIti Field and directly beneath the NYC elevated subways system, my expectations were not high. Imagine my surprise when passing through the entry to discover a thoroughly modern decor, a gracious staff and being given a room that would not be overly subject to noises from the subway cars passing outside. The area set aside for dining was bright and cheery and the breakfast offerings on the mark with coffee to go if wished. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

« Great Hotel, great Location »

I love this hotel, the Services was excellent, I was there for 4 day stay on the 3 floor, the housekeeper was very friendly, ask me if i need anything, very friendly person, also the hotel is very very clean, the driver was very friendly, he welcome me to NYC, and help me with my bags, and open the door for me. When I get to the front desk, the front desk was no very friendly, need to improve on that, she never welcome me, and ask me for my credit card and my id, no happy, but in the afternoon around 445pm was another person, she was the best, All the time when I was leaving the hotel she wish me a great night, when i came back welcome me. Very professional staff, ohh and when i leave in the morning for business the housekeeper from the 3 floor ask me if i need anything in my room, great remember 3 floor are the best ...

    « Value for money... »

All good...new building, newly furnished, decent staff, good location as near to subway (remember your subway number is 7 and your stop is 111St and this is Downtown), breakfast was decent, found out nearby store to buy fruits (it helps if you are vegetarian), Spanish neighborhood but it's fine. Lynda (front desk) helped me..she printed google map for subway route from hotel to times square (I just asked her times square)...believe me that one printout saved me...sometimes mobile internet may not work if you are in underground subway station.. All is not good anywhere....same is the case here....subway line is adjacent to hotel so it makes lot of noise. I was tired so didn't bother me much as room is not as noisy as reception.

« Great Hotel for a NYC visit! »

This hotel is conveniently located near LaGuardia Airport, with shuttle service to & from the airport. The staff was the best, very helpful and courteous! It is a rather new hotel and everything was in great condition! Next to the subway, so you can get to Times Square quick & easy. Staying here saves lots of money, as the hotel is a fraction of Manhattan prices and with the shuttle & subway, your transportation cost is minimal! The free wi-fi was great and the free breakfast was a plus. The breakfast staff was wonderful! Next time we go to NYC, we will definitely stay here! The only down side would be if you are a light sleeper, it's close to the train and you can hear it if your on the street side of the building!

    4
« Great for the standard »

Nice rooms, clean, good breakfast included. The only con is that it is practically under the subway bridge, and that is very noisy. But, with a room on the back of the building, you should be all set. It also has a shuttle to the airport, very convenient.

    5
    « Good value »

Would suggest this as a good option for late arrivals into LaGuardia. Definitely beats staying in expensive Manhattan and it's not that far by public transit. Parking availability is a big plus. Neighborhood is not terrific but I felt reasonably safe. Room was nice size although some cleaning odor. Despite being near the rail line ( a plus for connection) the room was well-insulated from the noise but would suggest earplugs for sensitive sleepers. Staff was helpful and seemed to enjoy being hospitable.

    3
« Ok Stay in NYC »

The location is a little alarming after dark hours unless you are arriving by car/taxi. The walk to/from subway/train is VERY close but no concerns about the noise as the hotel is pretty much sound proof.

    4
« young and friendly staff; ironing out the kinks »

the staff was super sweet and intentional. but to be 5 minutes from the airport and only begin your shuttle service at 5 am, is not adequate. If you are going to keep the start time at 5 am, then you need to figure out a free alternative if that is one of the attributes you tout on your site.

    5
    « Perfect spot »

This hotel is a gem! Traveled to NYC for Maker Faire. Neighborhood looks questionable.... however, I found it safe and friendly even as a solo traveler. Easy walk to Citifield, NY Science Center, and subway. I will be back for sure! !

« This hotel is great if you are going to the USOpen! Only a 10 min. walk ! The beds are very comfy . »

Our room was very quiet, despite the train so close. The staff is the best ! Free shuttle to and from airport in minutes. My friend's phone conked out and we could not fix it. Ask the front desk and she had it working in 3 minutes! all were so helpful w/ directions, food ideas, subway, etc. we will come back for sure.

    « LGA area hotel »

We were looking for a hotel near La Guardia airport with airport shuttle. This one was the best for location and price. It is on Roosevelt Avenue, Corona, NY and has an overhead subway line (#7) with a station about a 3 minute walk away. I thought it would be noisy with the overhead subway so close but we were at the back and didn't hear any loud noises although you could hear the trains, it was not too loud. I don't know how noisy it would have been if we had been at the front. It was quite pricey but below other NYC hotels.
