    « Clean, Friendly, Reasonable »

One of the few smaller hotels I have seen recently with full service including real restaurant and bar. Close to many things including a mall and theater. Price was much lower than I expected and was pleased from reservation to check out.

« Convenient and Restful Stop »

This hotel was right off of I-80 and very easy to get to. The rate was good and the room was very clean and there was not a lot of noise from inside or out.Only negative thing was smell of cigarette smoke it hallway.

    5
    « Very welcoming »

Came with our dog and the front desk had treats for her. Very clean. Easy to get to. Spacious room. Should get a great nights sleep here. And can I add....inexpensive! The cheapest hotel on my trip and probably the nicest.

    « Exceeded my expectations »

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in October 2016 while he was in town for work. His company paid for 3 rooms for the crew, including ours. One thing I really like is that they have smoking rooms. My boyfriend is a smoker and nowadays it's very rare to find a hotel that allows smoking in the rooms. Only certain rooms on the second floor allowed smoking, and ours was one of them. I did like seeing that the hotel was pet-friendly. The customers that did check in with a pet were immediately given a goodie bag for their dog or cat, which I thought was extra sweet to see them going the extra mile. We had a double room, which was very large and very clean. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is clean, and the staff is great. Amanda, the girl that worked at the front desk was extremely nice and extremely helpful. I accidentally locked myself out of my hotel room and she made me new keys and even came up to make sure I could get into my room. They have breakfast in the mornings from 6:30-9:30. They also have a restaurant attached to the hotel. I didn't get a chance to check out the restaurant, but I did have breakfast. It was great with lots of options to choose from. They had coffee, cereal, waffles, eggs and sausage, yogurt, and juices, etc. Overall I would recommend this Best Western. I hate to admit that my expectations weren't too high for this hotel but I was pleasantly surprised with the overall experience.

« Convenient, Affordable and Comfortable »

We stopped by the hotel for overnight stay when drove from WI to NJ. The hotel is very close to highway exist and in spite of low affordable rate the hotel offer every things you get in much higher rate close by. The room and bathroom were reasonably clean, room equipped with fridge , microwave, coffee maker, larg size flat screen tv and free strong WiFi signal. Complementary full hot/cold breakfast is value plus. I am frequent traveller and would confirm that for such affordable rate you will get reasonably very good values.

« Dog friendly and great food also »

Best restaurant ever in a hotel!!! Large clean and comfortable rooms. Lots of grass to walk dogs. The dog people have been very considerate to pick up poop and keep their dogs from barking. Thank you so this excellent property stays dog friendly. Now if the people would only pick up their fast food bags, etc.... Easy access from and to I 80. Gas station in front of hotel. How convenient!

    « Excellent stay »

We had a very good experience on our stay! Used internet & BEST WESTERN affinity card for reservation & everything was simple, easy, & pleasant. We will certainly use this service again on future trips.

    « Walk this way »

We did not know that there was not an elevator at this hotel, although we could handle the steps others may not be able to. It was clean and very basic. An older hotel that had been renovated we believe. The plus was that there is a great restaurant attached. The site was situated differently then the way it comes up on the Internet,

« Worst Best Western Experience ! Stay away ! »

Me and my wife checked in around 3 pm , we got room at the first floor and someone was smoking MARIJUANA next to our room , the entire hallway smelled very bad. We put our stuff in our room and went for dinner. We came back around 7 pm and the hallway smell was even worse and the smell was so strong that we can smell it in our room. The bathroom was very small and AC unit made lot of noise. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

    3
« Helpful staff but old out dated and lots of smells »

Hotel was old and dark and very outdated. Walking to the breakfast we walked through, old cigarette smells, overwhelming cleaning detergent smells, and stale old hotel smells. hallways were very narrow and dark. Staff was very quick to help though!

    « last minute booking »

this was a last minute booking and we did it on line about 100 miles away. we reserved a twin double. when we arrived we were told that room had gone and the only room available was a king and a pull out!!! we stayed and made do, but wasn't the best night sleep ive had ! the room was lovely and clean, with fridge and microwave. the pool was gorgeous and there were several guests chillin in there. talking to them we found out the couple in the next room wanted a king size bed but were given a twin double!!! er Management, maybe your staff need training better? if we had both been given the correct rooms, we for one would have given you a top mark ?? Breakfast was standard but fresh and filled the food gap. would definitely recommend.

« Couldn't get past the smell and the bed was the worst ever! »

Spent 2 nights here for a wedding. The smell hit us like a brick when we opened the door and didn't change for 2 days. It was heavy cigarette smoke covered up by deodorizer (I guess). Even our clothes that we didn't wear stunk when we unpacked. If you are listening manager or owner - if something is dirty, say the tub, I can clean that, but when it's an unrelenting bad smell, nothing from then on is right. The place was full, so no changing rooms. We were in room 209. Not sure where the people stayed that had a 'nice clean room' in the previous reviews. My sister in law had the same problem and was in 222 I believe. Here's the good - mini fridge, microwave, employees were nice. I didn't complain to them because what could they do? Here's the bad - No elevator, we had several elderly in the group. The smell, the carpet was gross, even seemed damp. I would not have let a child crawl on it. Probably the source of the smell. Bedside lamp sparked when we turned it off and on, cobwebs in the shade when we looked in it to see where the Sparks were coming from. Sink clogged, Dogs barked from 11:15 for 30 minutes each night. Phone message light blinked the entire stay, blanket between sheets had cigarette burns (yes ma'am it's no smoking ??) The bed was like sleeping on a wood board wrapped in 10" of noisy cellophane, seriously. Even a slight movement was enough to wake up my husband. Never experienced anything like it, and I have traveled for my job for 30 years, every single week. Maybe they have started renovating and we got the old rooms, not sure, but at any rate, there was nothing clean, comforting or remotely good about this hotel. No I didn't complain, the young ladies at the desk were nice enough, and what could they do about it? They didn't cause it and couldn't have fixed it. I put all the blame on the management and the OWNER! Never again.

« Great room, great dinner, much needed rest! »

After driving 500 miles that day,we were exhausted. I accidentally booked the hotel for the following, but the clerk corrected it. The room was perfect for us and our 2 dogs. The restaurant was fantastic, and our 2 West Highland White Terriers sat by us during dinner. I had a prime rib sandwich! Good food and good beer! This was the final leg of a 4000 mile journey, and we were all pretty tired. The hotel was perfect! The only problem was that the ramp back onto I 80 was closed, but this was not a big deal.

    5
« Very convenient to highway and restaurants! »

We spent the last night of our road trip in this hotel. The rooms were clean. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The hotel was decorated very nicely. There was some smoking rooms next to ours and they had their doors open, so the hallway was a little smoky. Fortunately the smoke smell did not enter our room. They had a nice breakfast room with the usual Best Western breakfast. On our way to breakfast we noticed a strong chlorine smell. We determined it was from the woman cleaning the restrooms near the breakfast rooms. Those restrooms were spotless. She was doing a terrific job. It smelled clean! The hotel is right off of route 80 and there are plenty of restaurants and gas stations nearby. We were very happy with this hotel.

    3
    « Pet Hotel »

The room was clean but the noise from the dogs was a problem. We were awoken at 5 in the morning with dogs barking in the hallway. Also, the room next to us had a dog that barked when its owner left the room (presumable to go to breakfast).

    4
« Very nice stay after Racing »

It was a Really nice place to stay after a long day of drag racing. Kids got to swim and play volleyball. Its right off a major Highway and close to some main restaurants. Large parking lot to park the trucks and trailers.

    3
    « Just okay »

We stayed here during a wrestling tournament. Room was clean and comfortable enough. Overall the hotel didn't seem as nice as other Best Westerns. Breakfast was nothing impressive and the coffee wasn't very good. The location was good for us with plenty of restaurants and easy access to the freeway. I would stay here again for the right price.

« Pleasant stay in Youngstown, OH »

After a long day driving across Pennsylvania, was happy to arrive at the Meander Inn. Treated kindly by the staff and our dog liked the biscuits at the front desk!. While not plush, the price is right, we did not feel gouged for having a pet, the adjacent restaurant is decent and there's a nice pool, too. Having breakfast on the premises was great as we were able to get an early start on the remainder of our journey.

    4
    « Quite Adequate »

Our road trip found us in Niles, Ohio, without reservations. The desk clerk was very pleasant and accommodating. Immediately I discovered my key cards did not work and that there was a barking dog across the hallway, so returned to the front desk. Not only did the pleasant desk clerk rekey my cards, but accompanied me to my room to make sure they worked. I mentioned the barking dog and she said if it continued to let her know. Inside, the room was clean, spacious with two queens, a business center, tv, micro fridge, and modern décor. I immediately turned up the air conditioner to high with a continuous fan. . . no more noise from banging doors and barking dog. Following a good night's sleep and a wake up call I headed for breakfast, which was a little challenging to locate. The breakfast area was fairly small, but the breakfast was delicious: fresh fruit, juice, yogurt, eggs, link sausage, bread, bagels, coffee, etc. Check out was a breeze and we were on our way. Good experience at a good price.

    « Nice Stay »

Went to the Amish country around Middlefield Ohio and went to 6 different Salvage stores, where we found lots of good bargains, then to Youngstown to the motel for the night . Next day went to the Amish is Berlin and Millersburg Oh then home.

« Disappointment at Meander Inn »

Stopped for an overnight at the Meander Inn, in Youngstown, OH on our way back from Pennsylvania. Staff was pleasant, courteous and efficient. Stayed in Room 114. Bathroom was cramped, exhaust fan loud and not on separate switch, shower/tub water difficult to get to proper temperature and got extremely hot when someone flushed a toilet in an adjacent room. Wifi signal weak and slow at times. Hallway door had a quarter inch gap between bottom and the floor, permitting hallway sounds and conversations into the room. Exterior insulation/sound proofing thin, permitting loud car/motorcycle noises into the room.

    3
    « Adequate »

Definitely needs updating. A place to sleep but that;s about it. Complimentary breakfast was good. However, the on site restaurant, Saady's should have been skipped. The staff were all very polite and helpful.

    3
« OK Stay but it could have been better. »

This hotel is dated and could use some serious upgrades. I enjoyed the Restaurant / Bar. This hotel is also close to a assortment of other restaurants and attractions. The Hollywood Casino is right down the road and shopping is not to far away.

    3
    « mediocre »

The Hampton Inn was booked so we took a room here at 1 a.m. The mattress was very thin and not of the caliber that most other hotels have upgraded to. Room was clean for the most part. Odd to have the sink outside of the bathroom. Not much stands out.

    5
    « reliable and consistent »

We stop here because it is reliable and consistently clean and comfortable with everything we need for the stop. It is close to a main highway with many other options in the area but we always stop here. It also has a restaurant and a lounge for those who like a little entertainment and a fuller restaurant experience.

    4
    « Youngstown area »

A conveniently located stop off I-80 on way back to PA. Plenty of restaurants and gas stations close by. Attached restaurant was OK but noisy and limited selection. Room was clean and quiet. Bed was noisy, however, with the slightest movement. The was a hint of cigarette odor in the room, but not overwhelming, even though the room was Non-Smoking. Good value for one night.

    5
« Great stay at Meander Inn, Youngstown, OH »

Very clean room, honored room request, they allowed pets and even had a pet 'welcome goody bag' which I thought was a great added extra touch! Rooms were very nicely decorated, service staff were very friendly and curious. The hotel/room was quiet at night time. Had plenty of parking available - close to restaurants, gas stations, etc.

    4
« Nice place to stay »

Our first time at this Best Western. It was quiet and clean. Staff were kind and helpful. Room was very spacious. We had a king room. Close to places to eat. Breakfast was good. Would stay again and recommend.

    3
    « Pros and cons »

It's hard to decide how many stars for different reasons. They are remodeling so that's good and bad but our room was clean and comfortable, flat screen TV, fridge, microwave, single cup coffee maker, water is too dialed back to get a decent shower, tub is very slippery, one towel was good and one was thin, needs brighter lights, breakfast supposedly has hot items but didn't start til 6:30 which is way to late so we didn't get to try it. Yes they are remodeling but shabby work always irritates me because most of what you see was easy to do but nobody cares and that's an attitude people in customer service businesses should not have. The service was friendly and we did rest well. Will we return? Maybe!

« Nice place to stay!!!! »

I'm so glad I found the Best Western Meander Inn in Youngstown Ohio. I have stayed at this hotel in the past and many of the other hotels in the area, I always come back to the Best Western, Because of the value and how clean the rooms are and also the staff is very friendly. I recommend this hotel because of the cleanliness and the convenience of the hotel on and off the highway . And there is a casino within a quarter-mile of this hotel. So if you want a nice quiet and clean place to stay at stay at the Best Western Meander Inn. And also they have a nice pool that I can't wait to use when the weather gets warmer.?

« Great pit stop on vacation »

This hotel was a bit dated. For the price ($76) it was just what we needed, a clean place to stop for the night. The beds unfortunately were not comfortable and should be updated. We both had backaches the next morning. The lighting in the bathroom was so dim it was actually hard to see. But the whole room was very clean as always with BW. This is why we stay there. You did receive a complimentary breakfast with the room which was pretty much the standard eggs, toast, fruit, cereal, coffee, etc. Very sufficient. The staff was very friendly and cheerful. We appreciate this!

    4
« great for an overnight stay »

This was a great Hotel. Very close to the interstate. The restaurant and lounge were both very pleasant. The décor of the room was nice but the mattress was the worst I've sleep on in a long time. They should consider upgrading them.

    3
    « Good stay »

We have stayed over 18 different BW properties throughout the US. This property was one of the older BW properties and was noticeable with the older beds. Comfort level was fair, but with replacement beds it could enhance the stay. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant attached to the hotel had delicious food, especially the mushroom soup!!! The breakfast room little small compared to other properties, but besides this we would recommend this BW Property!!

    3
    « Okay basic motel »

My room was reasonably clean and comfortable, and the hotel was quiet -- both good things. Like many older hotels, this one was short on electrical outlets (I had to unplug the alarm clock to charge my phone, and my laptop's cord barely reached from the wall to the bed. My biggest complaint was the $10/night pet fee. I appreciate them being pet friendly, but if there has to be any fee at least make it refundable if there are no damages.

    2
    « Outdated »

I've stayed at plenty of best westerns and while this wasn't scary or dirty, but it was very outdated. The staff was friendly, but the rooms needed a little TLC. The pillows were terrible. They were so small that it felt like couch pillows. The bathroom fan also sounded like a lawnmower. I wouldn't stay here again.

    3
« 'Okay' would not go back again »

I had reserved hotel through internet. We have stayed in many best westerns in California, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Ohio. Most staff have been extremely friendly, and computer services have always been substandard. However, neither worked or were available and the staff was aware but yet not helpful. 'oh yeah, it doesn't work'. not a good answer, I would not stay again

    2
    « Just average »

This hotel had a courteous staff and a nice breakfast for continental. However, if you are looking for any more than laying your head down in a plain, old sheet and a very thin blanket do not stay here.

    4
    « Solid and dependable »

I like the consistent value of this hotel in particular. It is also convenient to our travel plan. Staff was exceptionally helpful. We have stayed here before and even though there are many to choose from at this exit we always stop here. Continental breakfast was better than most. Lots of choices. Really worth your first consideration.

    3
« Clean and pet friendly »

We stayed here one evening with our dog on a trip along I-80. It can be challenging to find good accommodations that allow pets for only a reasonable extra charge. This was an older facility that had been updated. The room was a good size and the bedding was comfortable. The room was clean, although there were signs of old carpet stains. We found it to be quiet, despite easy access to the highway. Breakfast was in an odd location; underwhelming but adequate. Decent value for the price and only a $10 up-charge for a pet was appreciated.

« Great place to stay »

We were pleased with all aspects of our stay. We were very pleasantly surprised with the restaurant/lounge attached to this Best Western. The food and service were both exceptional. This Best Western was very conveniently located right off the expressway.

    5
« Friendly Staff and Nice, Clean Room »

We had 2 Queen beds in our room, had it for one night. They had a great waiting room with cute Christmas decorations, a plate of peppermints and another plate of little doggie treats for our pooch which I thought was a nice touch. The rooms were very clean and smelled nice, the hot breakfast in the morning included fresh scrambled eggs, sausages and waffles, which was included in our rate. The staff was nice and friendly and very helpful, the girl from the front desk helped me set up the television when I couldn't get it working and brought me extra pillows and blankets to my room. They have a great restaurant next door, the owners of the restaurant came to our table and spoke to us and cooked some great food, try the fish tacos or the Ahi Hawaiian tuna steak, both were amazing. Definitely staying here on our way back home, we were traveling cross country to see family.

    5
    « Great room »

We had a King sized bed for 2 nights over thanksgiving weekend and enjoyed the room. The furnishings, cleanliness, and staff service were A1. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast of sausage eggs and waffles as well.

    5
    « Very clean,very friendly staff »

We stayed for 2 nights and was very satisfied. The room had just been completely remodeled, very clean and fresh. They have a hot breakfast which is awesome. I had forgot to pack a few things and they where able to provide me with no problems. Staff there was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be staying there again when in the area and would highly recommend. Prices were very reasonable and very clean. A+++++

    5
    « Very nice & Clean »

Our stay was very pleasant. Rooms were very clean and very roomy. hot continental breakfast scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles lots to choose from. Staff was very friendly and they are also pet friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. This is definitely going to be the hotel we stay at when we travel this way .

    3
« Just an average hotel »

The cleanliness of the room was fine. The beds were extremely hard and creaky. The bathroom was extremely small and had just the tub/shower and toilet. The counter space for the sink was quite small for 2 people's toiletries. Restaurant recommendation for dinner was not satisfactory! We stayed at other Best Westerns on our trip and found them more comfortable.

    5
    « Ray »

They were very hospitable and maintenance guy BoB was outstanding. He kept us from breaking our window. We were locked out of our car. He had to necessary to tools to unlock to the door. He also assisted in changing our tire. Great unexpected stay. I would recommend best western meander to everyone in this area. Bob went over and beyond his job to help us. He went to his personal shop 20 mins away to get a jack to help change our tire because we needed a huge duty jack. Am glad we stayed at best western meander ohio.

    4
    « Clean, Clean, CLEAN! »

We do not typically frequent Best Western, but because we were traveling with our Black Lab, we were a bit limited on accommodations. What a pleasant surprise! The room, bathroom, bed, furniture - all were very clean. Room was extremely comfortable, quiet, and we were treated especially kindly during the entire weekend. I would definitely stay there again if traveling to that area.

    1
    « Bed Bugs! »

The bed was inferior and had bed bugs! Didn't like the casino vibe of the area. Better to travel to another other exit or two. Bright light from sign near window, unable to darken room sufficiently. Really disappointed. We've enjoyed other BWs, but not his one.

    4
    « Best Western Meander »

We've stayed at many different Best Western Hotels in the past 10 years. All have been above average and this was no exception. We've been Platinum Members for almost all of that time so we seek them out.
