« Boomtown is new and improved under new management. »

My recent stay at Boomtown was excellent, the service is great. The new management will go out of their way to make your stay wonderful. The rooms are remodeled what the refrigerator and microwave in each room.

« Nice big clean rooms »

during the week for $25/night, only 10 minutes from Reno. Cabella's is right next door. Boomtown has this Thusday night Buffet for 3.99, includes prime rib, bit of italian w/pizza and pasta, fried chicken, and a great salad bar (includes ceasar w/good dressing, and dessert..staff is friendly and takes good care of you

    « Sunday & Monday Difference »

The hotel is updated and country chic. We did not get help with Valet/Bell Service in the rain, after 10 minutes, calling and walking to front desk. With a lady before us and an elderly gentleman after us, we carried it all up ourselves (they would not let us use a cart). The restaurant choices are great, however, on Monday night there is only ONE choice (Mel's Diner) which would be perfectly fine if the grill wasn't closed for maintenance so choices extremely limited. BlackJack gambling was fun, but again, on Monday night we wanted to play, 2 tables only and they were full, so we decided to go to dinner and our choices were extremely limited. We did get to play after dinner. I heard they had a tournament Saturday night and the place was hopping. So it really does depend on the night of the week and time of year. We had a 2 bedroom suite, the decor was great, the bed mattresses need REPLACED. I did report this to the front desk. The couch was comfortable, all amenities were good, room was in desperate need of a "deep" cleaning (pizza sauce on ice bucket, very dirty under chair when we moved it to play a game) etc... I will definitely be back as overall it was very relaxing when needed, we made it fun considering it was off-season.The pool was closed as well for maintenance. At one point hubby wanted to place a bet at Sports counter, but the man said he would "be right back." We waited 8-10 minutes and went back later. Most employees were very helpful, including in the gift shop. Casino's are not usually so lackadaisical, but yet in this particular 2 days with rain , it was okay.

« Average boom in Boomtown »

This was our first stay at the Best Western in Boomtown. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk was most cordial and helpful. Our room was on the 5th floor in the North Tower. Our view overlooked the back parking lot and mtns. It wasn't overly exciting, but it wasn't a bad view. If you happen to stay in the North Tower, I would suggest a room on the 4th floor or higher otherwise you will have a view of a concrete wall or any and all units on the rooftop. As we did not stay in the South Tower, I cannot comment on the view from those rooms but I would imagine it would be of the mtns to the west of the hotel. The room itself was quite nice; spacious, clean and quite a few amenities (mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, safe etc..). The bathroom was also quite spacious. The beds were quite comfortable. For the price you pay, you aren't going to find your 5 star rooms at this hotel but, for those of us who enjoy a nice budget friendly clean hotel room then this is as good of a place to stay at. As we stayed during a fairly quiet time of the week, I can't vouch for the noise level in the rooms (do you hear the upstairs or side neighbors etc..). Our room was about halfway down the hallway and we were able to hear the elevator chime when someone used it from our floor. So maybe a room at the end of the hallway might be a room to get. The Casino itself was nice but we were a little put off by the fact that a lot of the eating establishments were closed. The steakhouse and Mexican restaurants never opened. We ended up getting a pizza at the pizza deli place. Good pizza...lousy grab & go salads. Mel's diner was open but we didn't eat there. Check-out was a different story. We went to check out and they could not find our reservation. After some searching they said we were already checked out. Kind of scary since we were still able to use our room keys. I made sure that I got a copy of the receipt and I went over it with the desk person to make sure of all the charges. Once home, I noticed my charge card was billed for 2 different amounts so I had to dispute the 2nd charge. It was taken care of quickly.

« Do You Like Sleeping in a Used Ashtray? »

The overwhelming smell of stale cigarette smoke made our stay miserable. The ventilation system brings the smoke up from the casino patrons, into the rooms. There is nowhere to escape the smell. Not even with a fresh batch of Peet's coffee brewing, could compete with the stale smoke. All of our clothes smelled like cigarette smoke after we left. It's not like there's an abundance of players in the casino, even on a Friday night when we stayed. When we complained at the front desk, it was as if we offending the staff. We will not stay here again.

« Hotel was Great. Dont eat the buffet »

Hotel was Excellent, but the lobster Buffet was way over priced and was awful. The goup i was with all felt the same, almost to the point of complaining to Management. The Restaurant may not be tied to Best Western but advertisements are in their elevators.

    « Not very friendly »

Stopped on my way through Reno on Business. Needed reservations for October, my wife's birthday...asked to see the South Tower and a North Tower example of a room, since we will be meeting her Family at the Camp Village this would be the most convenient location for us to stay...Front desk was busy I waited for 30 min. before asking again if this could happen, it seemed apparent this wasn't going over well. My wife's special weekend and Lobster Buffet might not happen at Boomtown. after 45min of waiting I needed to get back on the road. What seemed like easy while in town, look it over opportunity just wasn't. Come on Best Western you have always been dependable and the go-to accommodation's... Sorry maybe next time you'll have time.

    « Boomtown »

OK - staff was friendly and tried their best to cover for all the things that went wrong--no sheet on the bed, TV didnt work, ice bucket soiled, etc. Checkin and checkout were bad - inaccurate, late, delayed, multiple efforts needed to check in! But the staff was nice about it, and it seemed they cared about how bad things were going for us

« Safe Location Easy Access »

First time to Boomtown. Stayed because my companions are Cabella's fans, and the hotel advertised a 30,000 sq. ft. Arcade/Fun Center. The Fun Center didn't work out so well, but Cabella's was great. The indoor pool was closed, but the outdoor pool at the KOA campground was open - I was told it wasn't convenient, but it was fun! Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, free wi-fi that didn't seem to limit the number of devices, I like that!

    « Worst Customer Service »

This hotel has the rudest, most unprofessional customer service I have experienced. They overcharge extra days and hang up the phone when confronted with this information. I would recommend to avoid staying at this hotel. CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENT afterwards, if you do choose to stay at this hotel. The food was awful(Fri-Sun lobster buffet). Everything was overcooked and came with what seemed to be all frozen entrees, nothing fresh.

    « Ran away for a night »

The room was small but nice. The room was quite and not much outside light came in.. was darker then most motel rooms .. which we need to sleep. The bed was very comfortable.. a seta presidential. I looked since we need a new bed and it was that comfortable. We had the best nights sleep. The only window went to the indoor swimming pool.. which unfortunately was closed while we were there.. bummer.. I so wanted to go swimming. The room had coffe, frig, hair dryer, micawave, and sosp, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion.. we will defentally go back.

    « A great room at a good price »

A good place to stay for a good price. A room with a king sized bed cost about $60.00 per night. Which I would consider a very reasonable rate. The room was very clean and everything was is very good working order. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location, right off of highway 80 is great. Many popular destination are an easy drive from here And of course my favorite thing about this location is the all you can eat lobster buffet. It is the only one that I know of. Love it..

« Avoid (especially weekends) Unless You Gamble »

When we arrived, check-in was slow and interrupted by a guest who had another guest walk into her room as they apparently double-booked it.Parking lot near hotel entrance was full so we had to use another lot further away. Room was very far from the elevator. They desperately need another elevator. Room was okay although we were surrounded by smokers on a non-smoking floor. We wanted to use the pool and it was closed for repairs. We got different answers on whether the gym was open. There is very ;little to recommend this hotel if you don't gamble. Rates seem to double or triple on weekends so it would be a good value Monday-Thursday. Also, wifi was actually quite fast.

« Clean room, COMFORTABLE BEDS »

Stayed at Boomtown Hotel Casino for years and Best Western taking over the Hotel is great. The bathroom amenities were quite improved and the beds were quite comfortable. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we'll be back soon.

    « Just OK »

I stayed at the Boomtown hotel with my mother, disabled aunt and uncle for 1 night. We got in very late and it was a spur of the moment thing as we had issues at the camp ground next door, which we were planning to stay at. The room was $200 a night and I felt extremely over priced for the facility. The rooms were OK, but nothing about this place is very friendly to people who are disabled, can not walk far, etc. My aunt needed a wheel chair to get to her room and one could not be provided for her when we checked in. She had a very tough time getting to her room in the south tower...or maybe it was the north tower. I don't know. We were far apart, as we got in late and apparently got the last two rooms. The air in the casino gave me an instant migraine with all the stale cigarette smoke. That's the most disgusting smell ever. Even going to get a Peet's coffee induced a migraine as it was right there amongst the stench of the casino. It would be nice if this place was separate and those of us who don't wish to get lung cancer, could get a coffee in peace. The desk lady (a younger, native-american lady) was friendly (who checked us in) but the one who checked us out (and older white lady) was so rude. You could tell she wanted to be anywhere else in the world! Wish I had their names, but I probably wouldn't call them out on here anyway. We needed a cart to bring all our luggage up and they are not available in the lobby. You have to wait in the lobby and the front desk will have a bell man come and get you. Which just means you are obligated to shell out more money for a tip, for something you may be happy to do for yourself. I hate when hotels do this! I will probably never be in the Reno area ever again, but if I am, I will more than likely not endeavor to stay at this property.

    « Bad room experience »

After checking in at nearly midnight to a over talkative clerk to have him put us in a room 2 miles away from the parking lot only to get a room to have our keys not work because it was ALREADY OCCUPIED! After getting another room in south tower 40 we get in to a broken refrigerator and some one else In & Out soda container on the dresser....NOT COOL!

    « Relaxing,enjoyable »

This isn't the first time, really enjoyed all the new features, games didn't get to try the new steakhouse closed on mon-tues maybe next time. Excited to see my photo up on the wall next time im up there which im sure will be in the next couple of months. Thanks BOOMTOWN 5 STARS

    « Disappointed »

The staff at the front counter were not welcoming - no smiles, nothing. The lady that helped us was borderline rude. The room was in poor shape, we booked a suite, and for the price I expected more. Housekeeping was poor - we had several housekeeping issues. Best Western has just taken over, so hopefully we will see improvements. The lobby is remodeled and looked good.

    « Great stay! »

Although small this casino is packed with a great stay. Multiple places to eat, and good variety of games to play. Great kids arcade too. Only drawn back was there weren't enough table games. No let it ride game (which I prefer to play). Only one 3 card poker table (that was too packed to play).

« The Price is Right, Housekeeping is far from adequate..... »

I must state that our room was complimentary, so the Price was Right. The Bathroom in our Room was Not cleaned before or during our two day stay except on the evening of the second day when we called House Keeping to come and at least clean the toilet that had been filthy since our arrival. The Sink and Tub were Never Cleaned during our stay. We had to request Bath towels the second day as well. The Room Cleaner had no problem finding the $5 Tip on the Bed Pillow, but still ignored the Toilet, with the seat open to highlight the problem. We have stayed in these North Tower Rooms for years and Never experienced any thing like this. We hope that things aren't changing under the Best Western Brand. We enjoyed a Nice Dinner in "The Steak House", both the Food and Service were Very Acceptable. The prices are a little high for the atmosphere but overall a Good experience.

« Great value, great staff »

This hotel presents a great value for this area. Rooms are generally spacious and functional. Refrigerators and shower heads leave a bit to be desired, but staff service is excellent. On site dining options are very helpful, especially for extended stays.

« Oasis in the desert »

We thought we were staying in downtown Reno but this turned out to be an exceedingly sweet deal. It was inexpensive for the amenities and accommodations. The rooms are well appointed, quiet, and very comfortable. The staff throughout were very friendly and helpful. The best deal was the $3.99 BBQ buffet that had much more than BBQ!! Great food and plenty of it. Don't miss an opportunity to take advantage of this oasis!!!!

« Love their suites.... So big ii almost got lost. »

I have stayed at boomtown many times they have reasonable rates if you have a players club card. The rooms are nice. Better than circus circus rooms. We just stayed there for my wedding anniversary so I upgraded to a suite. The room was huge with a bar and a outside area, a jacuzzi tub and a separate bedroom. The cocktail servers on the gaming floor are very good. I didn't wait to long for a drink. Boomtown has a great kids area with great prices. Boomtown is great if you use your players card lots of bonuses.

« Best Western Plus Boomtown Casino Hotel »

Great hotel with good amenities including mini microwave and refrigerator. Clean room with free internet service. We appreciated the referral to the pool and the spa at the adjacent KOA Campground, great pool and spa! Mel's Dinner has awesome food and it's open 24 hours!

« Blues Festival and KOA »

Attended the 1st annual Blues Festival held at Boomtown. The lineup and sound was pretty good but the layout could have been better. Took the RV and stayed at the adjacent KOA. The casino provided a shuttle and they were pretty quick. Although the reviews were average, we had to try the all you can eat lobster buffet. Will not eat there again as the quality was average to poor. We should have eaten at the steakhouse because with the 20% steakhouse discount, the price would have been about the same or less.

« These rooms are remodeled! »

I had to change rooms 3 times which took 4 hours. Rooms were adequate for the price, but sorely out of date. Rooms were not too clean, bathtub faucet could hardly be turned and cracked tiles abounded. The lighting was minimal. The 2nd room had a horrible odor which was unacceptable. Their special Thursday B-B-Q buffet was fine for the price, but nothing spectacular. It took them over 5 mins. to find my room registration, so I could do a room charge. It also took 45 mins. in line before getting a seat. Definitely not worth the wait time! Mels dinner was just ok and they did not have the ability to do a room charge, which was frustrating. I checked out by phone from my room, and it took 3 phone calls and 4 days to get my emailed bill, which ended up being higher than the original reservation confirmation total that was emailed promptly when I booked the room. I stayed 4 nights with very little sleep, since rooms/hallways were very noisy plus freeway traffic noise. Do not stay at this hotel if you are a light sleeper!

    « No way »

Stayed Friday and Saturday...arriving Friday evening the room air conditioner was broken and the girl at the desk said there was no other rooms available which was bull because people were calling from out of town and the girl was booking rooms.she told us to check with the manager Saturday morning to see if we could get another room.We had a horrible night,it was hot in that room. The next morning the.manager said sure we can move yall, bunch of bull. The buffet is so seriously over priced there wasn't enough food on the bar to be charging that kind of money..sad......the casino where a.hand full of people won from a 100 to 180 but as I said a hand nothing....these casino want people to come but they do not want to take care of you,I wouldn't recommend this casino hotel to anyone. To close to being a rip off for the value of your money..Sorry I've stayed at many casinos for.concerts and for fun but this one is crossed off my.list......

    « Good quick stay »

After you get through the smokey casino and to your room- worth every penny. Very clean room, this is now a Best Western run place. Seems like rooms have been redone. Its outside of downtown but will for sure stay here again.

    « Nice casino »

Had lots of games to pick from and was comfortable not overcrowded or smokey. Parking is fairly easy and you can get close to the door. They offer both a restaurant and a hotel for longer stays. Overall felt the drink service was quick and about the fight frequency. Will go back

    « Amazing »

The room I had was amazing and it was like staying in a 5 Star hotel, bed was truly soft fell right to sleep. AC working in hot weather outside. Flat screen TV, beautiful shower with sliding glass doors and amazing shower head like a spa. Did not want to check out felt like paradise.

« Only the band was the highlight »

Had a supposedly newly remodeled room. The door jam didn't close all the way so people could look in from the hallway and there was a hole in the bathroom ceiling. Mel's was closed for cleaning so no food at night accept limited menu of the only hot choice was chili and it was cold and gross we had to get a refund. 8hrs of gambling I had to get up and find a cocktail waitress. But the highlight of the night was the band. They recognized me from my hometown and they were awesome and friendly! I was put on thier Facebook. Great people. I trued to reach Mike several times from the mod ofc about a return trip to this day after several messages no return call. I don't feel they care about thier players or guests really. But because the band was so awesome I rated it higher than I should of.
