Best Western Ta Inn Hotel

First we thought it would be far away from the city centre and the court house, where I had to work the day after. It turned out I could walk ther in less than 30 minutes! We liked the room with an entrance with possibilities to hang our clothes, and the fact that there's a fridge in the room! But we loved the breakfast buffé with many alternatives for any likes; fresh fruit, several types of bread (brown and white), jam, ham, cheese, paté and Nutella, just to mention a few. There's alternatives for allegic persons too. And there are pancakes everyday!

I had a single room, which was really shabby. It should have been renovated several years ago. Old worn furniture, poor bed, bath room with mildew. The bath room was also not cleaned well. Superficially clean, but dirty in the corners. The breakfast was only acceptable not more - poor coffee, soggy bread, variety definitely below three stat level. My colleague had a double room which seemed to be better ( haven't seen it). The location is not nice at a main street, but easily to access.

After I leaved the hotel, I forgot my neckless in the room. I called next day and the Hotel personel sent me at home. It was a great attention by the staff. Other than that, the hotel has a parking lot, good breakfast and a fair rates. It was a really good stay. Thank you.

Not really good service level and at all time avoid dealing with the manager on duty called Joakim. He will much rather go into discussion with you than solving issues that occur... Teach this manager some skills and tell him not to go into discussion with a customer (Diamond Select).

The building looked old at the first sight, then the reception was on the second floor. Paid 695kr for the first night, 645kr for the second night, free parking, including breakfast, strong WIFI, and small gym and sauna. Close to Kokpunkten, and E18. Breakfast was fairly good, got pancake, Nutella, whipped cream for my daughter. All the staffs were really friendly except the house keeper. That's the only down side from this hotel. The lady opened the door (without knocking) while we were still in the room. And she closed it with saying sorry, but say something else that we don't understand. They didn't clean the room on our second day. I guess maybe coz I didn't put up “plz clean my room” sign. But they should have asked. But then again, they didn't even greet us, it was us that day “Hej” to them. The room is 15 sqm, pretty same with other choices in the area. Plus, they put a big size fan in the room, for just in case, well, I was exactly that case.

I booked a 2 night stay for myself, my wife and infant daughter with a relatively short notice. The fee was around 2000 sek which seemed pretty cheap compared to many other options. The hotel is within walking distance from the train station and there is a large grocery store around the corner. Takes about 10-15 minutes to walk downtown. We were provided with a excellent infant crib. The room was very spacious and clean. It was at the end of the hall so I assume it's larger than the rooms in between. A comfortable queen sized bed, couch, large flatscreen tv with the standard Swedish channels I assume, kitchen table and a water cooker. We had some problems with the shower in that it leaked out of the cabinet so we had to use towels to keep the floor dry. The breakfast buffet is excellent although I think they close too early at 9 pm. If you want to you can eat dinner aswell in the dining area or in your room for a reasonable price. The hamburger was excellent but the kebab dish was below average. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Overall we were very satisfied and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Vasteras.

I did not enjoy this stay. We just came back from our weekend in Västerås, attending a friend's wedding. We were really looking forward to this trip, but the hotel was a big disappointment. It is not very centrally located - we needed a car to go to the city centre. It is an old building that has been poorly maintained. The room had an effort of refurbishment, with a new bed and a new tv stand, but other than that the floor carpet was dirty, as was the bathroom and the windows. What was particularly bad was an issue with the toilet flush, which had a leak and filled the bathroom floor with water each time it was filling up. We mentioned this to the receptionist upon check-out and he seemed to know about it, but to not care at all. The breakfast was ok quantity-wise, but the whole breakfast area gave an unclean impression: pancakes being in the same pot as sausages and bacon. This hotel was the cheaper option compared to others, but if I find myself in Västerås again, I will choose a pricier option, but probably a more decent as well.

We've had a very pleasant stay in BW, although the hotel doesn't have the look on the outside, inside it was a good experience. In comparison to price and quality... the breakfest was OUTSTANDING!!! I will visit this hotel again only for the breakfest. AAA+++

Stayed here on a weekday night, location is very close to downtown area, parking is free and ample. Room was not big, but all seemed to work. Staff was very good. Breakfast was pretty good. Other than European price, a pretty good place.

Good hotel for business trip. Rooms are clean a spacious enough. Staff are very friendly. My good surprise was on breakfast. I didn't expect as much choices on breakfast. Location is bit away from city center.

Stayed at this hotel as all other hotels were fully booked. The rooms are very basic but clean. I had to leave early and didn't try the breakfast, but it looked like it had a good selection. Friendly staff.

Stopped off here for a couple of nights after returning from Northern Sweden. It's a bit out on a limb, 15 min walk to the railway station, but not much going on in the immediate vicinity. It's clean and basic but the beds are comfy and being out of the way it was quiet.

We stayed here for a friends Wedding which was just outside of Vasteras and it did the job fine for us I'd say. Not sure how much the rate was compared to other Hotels in the area as we didn't look ourselves, we just got given a list of 2 hotels to choose from. The rooms are all a bit weird design, they all look different and our room seemed like it was normally 2 rooms and the wall had been knocked down because it was a mirrored shape of a normal room, had 2 bathrooms and then double the size of the rest, lucky if you get the big room I guess? The decor in the rooms could probably do with a slight face lift mind. The breakfast was acceptable, it's a normal European breakfast that I've caught around the place, a lot of it is stuff I'm not personally used to eating at 8am in the morning but if that's what is a local breakfast is then it's fine by me. There's free coffee during the day which is from a machine which was alright! The staff were helpful when we asked them for stuff, they lent us an iron and ironing board which was very helpful! I probably wouldn't re-visit with my wife and kids and we'd be spending a lot of time at the hotel but as we weren't staying around there much it did the job fine for us for what we needed. The sauna and gym area is useful I guess, it looked a bit sad and lonely and the sauna I had no clue on how to use and wasn't sure if it even worked but it probably did to be fair.

Best Western Ta Inn in Västerås is an Ok hotel. Delivers what you expect from a hotel in this category. The location and entry to the hotel gives a little strange feeling. You sort of feel like you are in an area of factories and godowns, even if that might not be the case. And you have to drive all the way around the building to find the entrance. Rooms are ok and beds comfortable. There is a feeling that quite a number of years have passed since the last renovation. It is still clean and nice, but colours and decor gives such a hint. The restaurant serves a rich breakfast, and other meals can also be ordered. However if there are many guests, be prepared to wait. All this said, I still enjoyed my stay.

Average hotel. Overpriced rooms. Poor wifi. Off the city center. Neat kitchenette but cannot be used for frying. No microwave in room. Free coffee and fruit juice 24x7. Free self service laundry. Free gym and sauna. Friendly people in reception.

Ta Inn is the first hotel from which I remember the bed! It was so good. As the location is not at the city center, the room was also quiet so here you can sleep peacefully. For bike, there was a safe place in the parking hall under the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast good, so it was a pleasant stay in Ta Inn.

Hotel is nice, rooms are comfortable, good beds and nice bathroom! Breakfast had many choises, free coffe and tea all day! There are sauna, gym and pool table! But the most nice thing is staff! The receptioniats are amazingly nice and funny, especially women with glasses, dark hairs and not so tall!

I have been coming to Vasteras for more than 20 yearsfor business, this month for the first time, all of the hotels in the downtown area were booked. I needed a room and booked at the Ta Inn. I had heard varying reports on the Ta Inn over the years, but overall I was very pleasantly surprise. My room was small, but very clean. Bathroom was good. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and they had a small but decent gym and very good sauna, which many of the other hotels do not have. They also had a dinner and decent bar which unfortunately I didn't have time to try. All and all a good visit, would use them again. They had mentioned a recent remodel which definitely made the overall feeling nicer. The hotel is just outside the ring road, so a little bit of a walk to the downtown area for the restaurants, but it is right on the bus routes if you don't have a car.

This place does not look like a hotel from the outside, but it is nice inside. It is on a dead end road and a little hard to find. A bit of an industrial area. Not far from the "ring" around the city. The help was very accommodating. The room was quite modern and clean. The breakfast was very nice. Something for everyone. They have meals in the evenings there too.

We are a French Canadian couple and we travelled all around Scandinavia during 2 months mid August till mid October 2015. We reserved and used 24 lodgings during this trip. Positive: Easy to get there if you want to visit the outside of the city because it is situated closed to the ‘'ring'' of the city. Free WiFi, TV with English channels, fridge, nice desk to put things, little room in the bathroom to put our things, fridge, good breakfast. Negative: We were asked to pay upon our arrival without having seen the room. They asked us why because they were fully booked and they would not have another room to propose. We had to insist to see one and they finally agreed. Small parking: the first day we ran out of space coming back of our visiting. All the parking around the hotel is not free, so we had to park in the hotel parking in a forbidden space. The room in big but in a L shape and the bed is enclosed in the L without space between it and the walls. We were there two days and nobody came to clean the room after the first night even if we had put the sign ''make the room'', the personnel at front desk could not explain us why, she just said ''They are gone now, I will give you some clean towels''.

I found this to be a good place to stay when in town on business. -Friendly check in staff. -Good breakfat selection inlcluded in the room rate. -Comfortable bed. -Small gym on site. -Free parking. -Free internet.

Negatives: This might be the only hotel where I heard a response "I am sorry I cant do anything about it/ its not in my hand" for several times during my stay of 12 days (this was in context of the internet connection). It was not sorted till the 12th day of stay. Every-time a nearby room was opened or closed, I heard loud sounds very frustrating at nights. The towels/napkins were not changed for at least 3 days even after they were clearly kept aside as being used. The breakfast is mediocre. Positive: The location is good with convenient bus-stop just outside and a supermarket just next to hotel. This hotel was quite good about 1.5 years ago but now I would strongly recommend avoiding it.

This hotel was full of single men travelling reps. Just off the motorway and out of the city centre. A tired hotel that needs to be renovated. Situated in a mixed used industrial area with only a Burger King close by. Little choice of food from the hotel menu. I'll avoid next time
