    « Business trip »

Rooms are large and were clean. Bathroom had been updated but was basic. No noise as off the main traffic roads. Room rate a little high but was last minute and Canberra was booked out. Well located close to main commercial area got a great steak from the pub.

« Good for the price and location. »

For overnight stays this place is ideal. The rooms are quiet and clean, the bed comfortable, sheets crisp and snugly and pillows supportive. This hotel does not presume to offer much entertainment or luxury, and for sleeping, that is not important. I slept well, shower was hot and the location convenient for morning pastry and coffee. A very satisfactory experience.

    « 1 night stay »

We stayed here mid Oct 16 for 1 night, I read the reviews here on Tripadviser it was ranked number 1. The cost for the 1 night stay was $130 which is about average price these days. The rom it self was clean & tidy with a double bed, small table, desk & 2 seater lounge. The bathroom was clean & had toiletries supplied. There was plenty of Tea & Coffee they give you a small botle of milk when you check in. The only faults we found was opening the window was hard to do, it didn't want to slide open. The other problem was you have to bang the door closed so when there are people leaving in the early hr's in the morning you can hear the doors being slamed shut, not a good way to start your day. The night we stayed it was windy so we had to listen to the loud howling wind noise most of the night, as the room we stayed in (361) was right next to the stair well. Other than that all was fine

« Clean room at a good price »

It has been a few months since we stayed here and is still a good deal. The rooms are very clean and the price was good ($170) considering Floriade is on and it was the long weekend. There were no vacancies left when we arrived, which probably explains why our room ran out of hot water the next morning; however, it should be noted that we have never had that problem before, and we did leave showering till later in the morning. The only unpleasant part of our stay (other) than the hot water running out, was witnessing a manager yelling at a member of the cleaning staff in the carpark. Not a good look for the motel and certainly not a professional way to manage people. Otherwise a good stay and we will return on our next trip to Canberra.

« Surrender your self respect »

Just checked-in to this allegedly "4 star" property. But for Canberra hotels being booked out I would have abandoned the booking just as I abandoned any dignity when I saw the unmade room I was checked into. Presented with a small milk after queuing at reception it is better than sleeping rough on a cold canberra night but not by much. The stay has just commenced and I am fearful of the horrors that might present later.

    « Good stop over »

Room was a great size with good side kitchen and bathroom. Downside was how long the room to to warm up and the beds weren't overly comfy but for the budget price it was ok. Staff were pleasant and parking was good. Good experience for a budget hotel.

« Modern, clean, warm and welcoming Motel »

Fantastic Motel. Modern rooms, comfy beds and pillows, warm and welcoming. Very helpful Reception staff as we didn't like the position of the first room we were allocated and were moved with no drama. Immaculate rooms and bathroom. Really good value. very happy!

« Overnight visit for a birthday party »

Stayed for one night on a Sunday night, and got a discount for the night, We had a birthday party to go to at midday on that day and that day and they were kind enough to allow us to book in at 11.30 and take our bags to the room. This was at no extra charge, so thankyou for that. We arrive back at the motel at around 7.30 pm and turned the heater/aircon on. Had to have it set at 30 deg but still took a long time to heat the room, and when we lay on the bed around the corner, the heat didn't reach that far. After several hours the room finally heated so we were comfortable. No electric blankets on the bed either. Other than this, the room was comfortable and clean and we had an ok stay. Free wifi was good.

    4
« Comfortable, clean and quiet »

An older style motel but it has obviously been refurbished not so long ago.it is close to shops and restaurants but is in a side street and very quiet. There is ample parking and, for once, the spaces are large enough that you would have to be unlucky to get a ding in a door. The bed was comfortable and the shortbread cookies were very nice, thank you very much.

« Good value motel in Queanbeyan »

Clean. Fresh smell rather than musty. Comfortable beds. Blankets supplied as well as doonah (I prefer blankets). Good flow shower. Hair dryer, etc. All shampoos and soaps (toiletries) provided, washer, free WiFi that worked well. A lift for second floor luggage access.

« Good hotel with very helpful staff »

Queanbeyan - about 15 minutes drive from central Canberra - is a bit of a poor cousin to the shiny national capital. It looks and feels like every other NSW country town. It's hard to find somewhere decent to eat a late lunch after about 3pm, though the Royal Hotel serves a good evening meal. There are many motels. Many many motels. We stayed a few days at the Best Western. It is a pretty "typical" country motel, though it does have a few welcome extras: - there a small kitchenette area with a microwave, crockery etc.; - the apartments have separate living area (with a single bed in it) and a main double-bed bedroom; - TV in living room and another in bedroom; - heater in living rooms and another in bedroom; - minibar; - restaurant which serves breakfast and dinner, and has a bar (you don't have to eat to have a drink at the bar); - very helpful and efficient staff at Reception. There is free wifi, but it's a bit hit-and-miss. So it isn't anything "special", it isn't five-star, it's a good, honest, clean country motel with good staff and a few welcome extras. It's close to the centre of town.

« One night in Queanbeyan »

We stayed at the Best and Western for one night. The room was very spacious and clean and was in a great central location. Very impressed that it had a mini bar. What was more attractive the value for money. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

    5
    « Well positioned »

Stayed here for 4 nights in a downstairs room and were completely satisfied. Clean, good size room. Air con heating kept us from freezing and hot water pressure good. We have no complaints with noise and we had quite a few children staying at same time and they were good. Being so central is a real bonus. The only complaint would be that the cleaning lady knocked once and opened the door- hello??????? Embarrassing to say the least.

    4
« Good value for price »

We stayed here for two nights in a family apartment. (2 adults, 3 children) The room was very clean and up to date. Sofa bed was made up ready for us for a late check in. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Maybe a little more information such as check out time should be provided. One big problem is the noise. We stayed on the second level and the noise from opening/closing doors, walking in the room above us was loud enough to constantly wake all of us a number of times.

    4
    « Quick getaway »

Great room size, comfortable bed and pillows. Suitable mini bar choice. It was clean and spacious. Front of house were professional and well dressed. Just a pity that other patrons could not respect others by keeping quiet.

    4
« Recommended for business visits »

Good for business visits, you have what you need and the price is reasonable. The internet was a bit slow, but they did give fresh milk at check in. The room was very clean and the soaps that were provided were great. If I need to go to Queanbeyan again for business I'll definitely come back.

    5
« Great Place to Stay While on the Road »

Very clean, comfortable apartment style room handy to city centre and some very good restaurants. However, we were upgraded to an apartment which was very spacious and with full kitchen facilities. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful Will stay again when in the area

    5
« Great place to stay »

Fantastic place to stay. Friendly staff, very welcoming. The rooms are a great size, very clean and well attended each day. Only down side is the bedding- mattresses and quilts are covered only with sheets causing you to get tangled and wake up on a mess of uncovered bedding, which is not all that pleasant.

    4
    « Does the job »

I recently stayed at the Best Western in Canberra with two friends. We had two rooms between us and both were very clean and spacious with good facilities e.g. cups, plates, kettle etc. The staff were very friendly and took the time to explain a map of the local area to us. The hotel was in a good location- easily accessible from Canberra with plenty of parking spaces. I would definitely stay here again if I was in Canberra.

    5
« Clean and very comforabe »

Our apartment here was fantastic plenty of space, a full sized fridge, and stove plus a micro wave plenty of crockery and cutlery bed comfortable TV in both the lounge room and main bedroom, smoke alarm a little sensitive which is difficult when you want to cook anything but over all a great place to stay central as well as easy to find .

  • 4
« Good time in Canberra »

The toilet flush was leaking in our room. I mentioned to a service person and they were going to get the plumber right away however this was too late for us. Otherwise it was good for what we used of the facilities.

    5
    « A minimum of fuss »

Great staff, easy parking, fabulous location, excellent price, clean rooms. Best Western Queanbeyan ticked all the boxes for my husband and I during our overnight stay. This was our second stay there and we will be back again. Highly recommended.

    5
« Best location in Queanbyan »

Made the booking at the last moment and still got the room for under $100.00 and then was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service at reception. I was traveling with my wife and we were both on motorbikes, the receptionist said as we were on motorbikes we would need an extra milk as motorcyclist like coffee. The room was very clean and all things worked well including the hot shower. Free WIFI is a bonus along with Foxtel. The location is far enough from the main road to eliminate noise and yet close enough to walk to restaurants, pubs and venues. There is a large restaurant on site which is closed Friday and Saturday nights but can be used for a function. There is a pool in the middle of the court yard with four BBQ's this would be a great place for motorcycle groups to do an overnight ride to and hold a function.

    5
    « Peaceful »

It is always a pleasure to stay here. Quiet and peaceful, a great place to just rest and relax. It is close to Canberra and and all the sights and central for day trips to the beach or mountains. Queanbeyan has a lovely atmosphere.

    4
« Great for business travellers to Canberra »

I travel to Canberra every 4 weeks and this hotel is my first choice when staying in Canberra. The rooms are clean and cater to everything I'm looking for. Beds are comfortable and room service is good. The self contained rooms with kitchenette gives a little more room for a little extra. Price is generally cheaper than staying in Canberra CBD. Location is great as you can easily get to Belconnen, Woden, Tuggeranong without going into busy peak our Canberra

    3
« Nice room but the shower not clean »

This motel looks like a dive on the exterior, but the interior rooms are nice and refurbished. Plenty of towels and washers provided. Beds were comfy. Just wish the shower had been cleaner and more of the mold removed.

    5
« great place to stay »

Everything was great,.comfortable bed, great room, had a wonderful night out . location very close to restaurant had Thai food and drinks with work mates .on site parking ,very handy. would recommend to anyone.

    4
    « Our holiday »

very handy place to stay, central to most places and events.room service was very good.our only disappointment was that the restaurant is not open on weekends..apart from that the stay was pleasant.room was neat and tidy and the staff very helpful(re directions etc)Like all motels guest noise is a problem but unavoidable

    4
    « Easy access »

Upgraded to nice suite after being a "regular". Comfortable and quiet, healthy walk to Town. Staff are helpful. Value for the price. Will continue to stay here when we have to fly out of Canberra. Also a convenient drive to Canberra

    5
    « great »

The location of the accommodation perfect and the room was very clean and tidy the little touches made it worth every cent. The staff were most helpful the front counter staff were lovely and very efficient.

  • 5
    « outstanding service »

i always stay at this motel when I come to Canberra it is so close to the shops (in walking distance) and anywhere in Canberra is pretty much 20 mins away so very close to everything. But the main reason I choose to stay at this motel is the staff they are amazing. they are always so helpful and are always very friendly. nothing is ever a problem. they always go above and beyond. the rooms are always clean and tidy

    4
    « A good Motel »

I thought the staff were friendly, even my GPS was able to find the motel, plenty of parking. Room was comfortable, clean and tidy. Fully stocked fridge. Tea and coffee was plentiful. The kettle worked. Well done!!

    4
    « Good experience »

Very helpful staff, and good equipment for our conference. My room was very clean and well equipped. Internet connection was slow during the evening on my visit though it was satisfactory during the day for our training sessions.!

    4
    « Comfortable and convenient »

We arrived on Good Friday, the receptionist was very helpful with a list of dining options for the evening. The missing hairdryer in our room was replaced as soon as possible. The only small problem was the narrow space beside the bed with the wardrobe jutting out at the foot of the bed. Easy walking distance to the dining precinct.

    3
    « Worth a try »

The room size was good and the décor was stylish. The coffee making facilities were tucked away in a corner which probably reflected the notice that no cooking was allowed. I had asked for a room with a microwave ( to heat up wheat bags) but they could not provide one. Unfortunately the noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom had to be on whenever the light was on. The restaurant is well fitted out and the menu would cater to most tastes. The staff in the restaurant and reception were all very courteous and helpful. Being over retirement age we appreciated the ground floor location.

    4
« Delivers what you expect »

The Best Western Central Motel and Apartments are the largest motel in Queanbeyan and are well located two blocks behind the main street (central without being on the main drag). A friendly and professional check-in and check-out as you would expect from the Best Western brand. The restaurant is open for breakfast each morning but as we had a 2brm unit we didn't go down. If the restaurant had been open for dinner we probably would have dined in one night or ordered some room service but this was not to be. It seems strange that the restaurant is not open on weekends, they obviously only cater to business travellers during the week. The motel was full over Easter so I'm sure they missed out on a lot of potential dinner patrons. That aside, our room was clean and comfortable, if a little uninspiring decor wise. Some modern canvas artwork and a couple of cushions for the lounge wouldn't go astray. Our room overlooked the carpark next door and we were woken at 1am by someone doing burnouts around the carpark. Thankfully they did not repeat their visit for the other two nights of our stay. The pool was a bonus for cooling off at the end of the day and pool towels were available for the asking from reception.

    3
    « Does the job »

The rooms are of a good standard, reasonably modern and are clean, spacious and tidy. Beds are comfortable. The stairways could be cleaned more regularly as there was a cigarette butt and ash that was in the walkway they 4 days that I stayed which was not nice to walk past. The restaurant and room service was friendly and quick. The food was ok if made to order but some of the breads in the continental breakfast were a day or two old. All in all it did the job for a business trip.

    4
    « Clean and quiet »

I stay here from time to time for work. The place is in a good, quiet location. Close to town (if that's important to you) but it also has a licensed restaurant. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious.

    5
    « Business trip »

From the moment we arrived to checkout, everything was done well. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed. We used the restaurant for breakfast everyday and found this to be great value. All of the staff were very accommodating with all of our requests throughout our stay. Thanks for all of your help and well done.

    5

    « Canberra holiday »

Great place to stop & use as a base if visiting Canberra and surrounds. First class in all respects, highly recommended. Friendly and helpful staff couldn't do enough for us. Would stop there again next visit.

    5
    « Excellent »

Newly refurbished clean and good service. Well located in Queanbeyan. Dining room was closed however booklet with several alternate dining options provided. Would highly recommend, we will be returning.

    5
« Great location and Friendly »

Stayed here for the second time and never lets us down. This place is close to everything in Queanbeyan and only a short drive to the nations capital. Highly recommend Best Western Central Queanbeyan. One down fall and it's only my thoughts. The buffet breakfast is not worth the money, disappointing and really needs to be reviewed.

    3
    « Average Motel »

Just an average hotel. Value for money. Free Parking. Average room and average cleanliness. Internet Wifi speed was also average. need to wash bed sheets and towels. for late checkout after 11am you need to pay extra money.

    5
« All round great value for money »

We had some business to attend to early in Canberra, so we arranged to stay here the night before. We got a great price on our rooms. The receptionist arranged our rooms to be near each other. The rooms were spacious, very clean, well appointed and presented. The staff all very friendly but professional. The bed was very comfortable. The restaurant offered a variety of food and both of us really enjoyed our meal. I had a room service breakfast which was delivered right on time, was hot and delicious! All round, a great place to stay and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

    5
    « Family stop over »

We stayed at the central motel and apartments with our two very young children. We stayed in a ground floor apartment ( which Pat kindly located is in as we were travelling with our two little babies), which contained a newly renovated kitchen, with full sized fridge and stove/oven. The queen bed was in a separate room and the ensuite though dated was remarkably clean and nice products were supplied. We provided our own cots and our babies slept in the lounge, we didn't have to move any furniture to put both cots in. There was a nice pool which we didn't get to use. Aldi was conveniently located within very close walking distance. We cooked a meal in the kitchen and all the utensils and cooking accessories were provided. The reception staff were very professional and lovely to deal with. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

    3
« Expected more for price »

Room was clean. Some faults though. Lounge was broken at the bottom & had rips in seat. Remote for aircon was missing & was told to search for it ourself. Was told there would be a robe in cupboard, was not. Light shines straight through sides of blinds at night. No where to put clothes in main room. Very noisy in behind carpark. Overall was okay.

    4
    « Canberra Visit »

Very friendly counter staff. Rooms very clean and comfortable. The only downside on this visit was the air con in room 5. The weather wasn't that hot, but the cooling wasn't very effective during the night.

    4
    « Noisy service entrance »

Very good motel with excellent dining room, motel room was fresh and clean. Only problem was being so close to the staff service entrance - the door banged shut each time a breakfast tray was delivered beginning 6am. Otherwise lovely motel and would stay again but not in a room next to service entrance.

    5
« quick trip to ACT »

Just enjoyed quick visit to ACT usually stay at Tuggernong however disappointed with last motel. Returned to Best Western and would be happy to stay anytime in the future. friendly staff, clean modern rooms close to local shops and eateries

  • 4
    « Two night stay »

Booked this motel while in town on business its very comfortable with good beds the room was clean and quiet only criticism would be the ridicules toilet paper they supply tiny single sheets you find in public toilets i will gladly pay the extra dollar for a proper roll there is some morning movement of workers leaving the breakfast is pretty ordinary and i wouldn't bother with it in the future

    5
    « best ever »

lovely people nice place and a good nights sleep. We had a great breakfast and all at a very good price. Would recommend to any one, thanks to the staff. We were well looked after at all times thanks best western.

    5
« Comfy and nice staff »

We booked in very late and knew we would be arriving after midnight and Jennie at the front desk took care of us going above and beyond to make sure we checked in ok. The bed was super comfortable in the queen studio and we enjoyed our quick overnight stay.

    5
    « Tom Roberts »

We always stay at this Motel when in Canberra to go to Museums or going through to further destinations. Our breakfast in the restaurant was very nice and the Motel staff always look after us our car was in a safe carpark and there was no loud noise coming from other parts of the Motel at night

    4
    « Nice Location & Good Value »

This is a nice hotel in a good location. I stayed here for six days and the full kitchen was a fantastic thing to have for making meals and saving money on eating out. The bed was pretty good, but not great. The biggest downside to the room was the lack of clothing storage space. There is only one small closet with about 8 hanger slots and a single shelf in it. My particular closet was missing 2 hangers. I was able to put some clothing on the shelf in the closet, but the rest of my clothing had to be stored in my suit case, which was a little inconvenient, but manageable. Despite these small issues, I would highly recommend staying at the Best Western Central Motel & Apartments, Queanbeyan, NEW SOUTH WALES

    4
« Good for the price point »

Good, clean and affordable. Service was good, however internet service could be better. Close to all amenities, Woollies, BWS, Dan Murphy's are all at walking distance. Surrounded by multiple restaurants. Overall a good experience.

    4
    « Reasonable Value »

I'd rate this place 3 & 1/2 - better than "Average" but not quite "Very good". Whilst I suspect our room was not typical - tucked away in the corner, the lack of light made the room feel a bit like a cave. The aircon was necessary on a hot Queanbeyan night but was reasonably quiet. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. The large carpark courtyard was not. Litter may have been a result of a tipped bin but the spider webs along the gutters speaks of a lack of attention to detail, maybe I just being pernickety. Location is excellent, within walking distance to all town has to offer. The price allows for a lowered bench mark and thats just as well.

    5
    « Welcoming »

From the very first time I entered the Reception, I was made to feel welcome, by the lovely receptionist. She was very helpful with all my questions. I was also upgraded to an Apartment, at no extra cost to me, so was very happy.

    5
    « Weekend away »

Booked in for only one night but decided to stay 2. Staff at reception were extremely helpful and made us feel like we were their highest priority. Great apartments that have been recently renovated and have all you need for a weekend away. Shops close which was an added bonus.

    3
    « Comfortable and Clean »

Although bordering in need of a cosmetic overhaul, the bed was very comfortable and it was clean. There is a good sized, fully tiled, clean pool. I recommend Queanbeyan as a good alternative stop over to Canberra, and much cheaper. My only complaint is the towels are small, and worn thin. They definitely need to be replaced. Ask directions to restaurant precinct. We couldn't find it, and ended up with a rather dodgy chicken burger from a take away shop and a bottle of wine from the local Liquorland.

  • 5
    « Great for Families »

The motel is in a great location, close to the main street, supermarkets, restaurants and the pool in a quiet street. The room we stayed in had two rooms one for the kids one for the parents both with TV's. It had a full size fridge, microwave, stove, crockery, cutlery, jug, toaster and cooking equipment. It was clean and very comfortable, the only negative would be other guest coming in late and being quite noisy, but you can get that anywhere.

    5
    « Great »

Great rates on rooms.Rooms nice and clean close to everything ..lovely pool !! Excellent Staff nothing to much trouble.Didn't use the restaurant chose to eat outside. Will definitely stay there again when traveling to quenbeyen .

    4
    « URGENT STAY »

Was disappointed in the rate. As I had stayed 3 nights over Christmas for much less. Was caught in bad weather conditions so decided to not return to Batemans Bay down the mountain. Next time I will get the Trip Advisor price.

    5
    « I'll Be Back! »

This one really does measure up to the photo's. I am often disappointed when I arrive at a hotel/motel only to find it does not measure up and I am really disappointed. I am happy to say Best Western really does live up to my expectations, and the pictures. The rooms have had a modern makeover and they are roomy clean and very comfortable. The location is just two blocks from the centre of town and are very quiet. The staff are really friendly and the restaurant was very good for breakfast. I often stay in Queanbeyan but this is the 1st time with Best Western, so I will be back!

    5
« Loved our stay in Queanbeyan thanks to the Best Western Central. »

Located on a quiet street close to the main roads in the area. It's big, bigger than I expected. Check in was a breeze, friendly and welcoming. Room 34 was on the ground floor and we were able to park right out the front of our room. This is a U shaped property with some rooms on the 2nd and 3 floors, there were multiple stairwells and I did see an elevator on one side. The pool and toddler pool was located in the middle with the BBQ and BBQ tables. The restaurant in the reception area looked very nice, I didn't see anyone eating there but I did see room service being delivered. The place was packed most nights and yet it was amazingly quiet. Our room had the queen in the main area with reverse cycle air con, good sized kitchen facilities with table and chairs, a sofa and wall mounted TV. The kids had their own room with their own air con and TV. It was nice to have a seperate space from the kids to relax after busy days exploring Canberra. The Foxtel and free Wifi were a hit with us all. We chose to stay in Queanbeyan and travel into Canberra each day to get the benefits of free Foxtel, wifi and parking. Our stay was perfect and we would definitely return.

    4
    « Conveniently located »

A small group of us spent a night in Queanbeyan on our way south to the ski field. The staff were welcoming, the rooms clean, well laid out and the hotel was a short walk to the main street. I'd go back. Peterr

Staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home. They were able to change us to a ground floor unit to accommodate my wife's medical condition at no extra charge. Location was handy to several good eateries.

The place was clean. However, we chose the hotel for it' s laundry facilities, only to find out they had two washers and ONE dryer but the worst part was that you weren't allowed to use it after 8-which was about the time we checked in. NOT a good situation

« Big room, comfortable, close to shopping »

We enjoyed our stay. Nice large rooms, close to shops, very friendly staff. Was great to have the kids in their own room (& they loved having their own tv!). Good facilities for cooking in room or a bbq in the pool area.

We had to return 2 days later due to rain. Excellent "bike friendly" accommodation. Lovely counter reception greeting. Great laundry service to dry our Rain gear. Priced well. Will return for future trips

    « Best Western Queanbeyan »

Third time I've stayed at this Motel. Comfortable, neat, clean and well equipped. The Staff are always friendly and helpful and ready for a chat. Motel was full but not noisy or disruptive. Will be back again next year.

« The no sleep hotel. »

We booked at this hotel and all we got was dirty utensils, scissors covered in food i had to re wash everything. We had noisy people above us noisy people partying below at 2am, waking up kids. It was like living inside a drum (no matter how noisy the neighbours are they won't kick them out like other hotels) Will never stay here again.

    « Budget Getaway »

We stayed in the Family Apartment and it meet all our needs. This isn't a grand luxurious hotel but people should be able to figure this out by the cheap rates. Great motel with a nice neat and clean room and an excellent pool. It looks like the Family Apartment had been refreshed/updated with new tiles in the kitchenette and bathroom, fresh coat of paint and new appliances in the kitchenette. Our room had what I would call an open living plan with the kitchenette, dining table, double bed and couch all in one room and then the bedroom had 2 single beds. The apartment was set up very well and we were more then comfortable and happy for our stay. The motel is situated very well, just down the street, maybe 200m is Aldi and then maybe 500m is a shopping centre with a Kmart, Target, Woolworths and plenty of other shops if you wanted to do a spot of retail therapy. Lots of restaurants, pubs and eateries in the area. Couldn't comment on the food at the motel as we had breakfast and dinner in our room each day, I didn't want to be spending a great deal of money eating out hence we got a room that I could cook in. Staff were great, only needed to speak with them when checking in and out which was a very quick process. We would be more than happy to stay here again

« Great room, great price. »

Without a doubt the best motel I've stayed in this trip, and for a very good price. Room was very comfortable, I suspect recently renovated, and had everything you need. Friendly greeting on arrival. Property has a pool and restaurant which I didn't use. Very impressed.

When visiting Canberra from Sydney for a day Queanbeyan is an attractive accommodation option. Best Western madre it easy to book (indeed to change a booking, com reservation...which booking.com were unable/unwilling to do). Staff friendly and helpful. Few minutes walk from thew main street and eating option I(esp Central Cafe!! Clean,well-appointed room; ample off street parking. Good value.

    « Excellent accomodation »

Very clean rooms that have a modern feel and decor. The motel has excellent amenities. The staff were nice and friendly. Great location; parkland opposite and just around the corner and only a five minute walk to the centre of Queanbeyan.

    « ACT adventure »

Easy way to visit the ACT by staying in Queanbeyan. Situated close to cafes and main street. Motel rooms well appointed and swimming pool very refreshing. Unfortunately limited utensils in kitchen area as we had in previous motels access to a toaster.

« Very good Business Motel »

Very much a business motel, with clean, if somewhat sterile rooms, a central location and plenty of onsite parking. Staff upon check in were very polite and professional. The only thing I could suggest is some art work or colour to brighten up what are otherwise rather bland rooms.

    « Basic at Best »

We booked into this hotel as part of our QANTAS Frequent Flyers Membership and were therefore expecting something beyond basic. The family apartment was small for four people and we were concerned to find the smoke detector covered with a plastic bag! Would only recommend this room style for families with small children where you want a separate room for the children to sleep, as single beds are in the separate room and QS bed is in the lounge/kitchen part of the room. If adults want privacy then 2Bed apartment would be the option. The bathroom was woeful - no where to place toiletry bags, an oversized basin that just gets in the way, only one towel rail and two door hooks for four towels, little room to get dry and a shower head that if you tried to adjust it in any direction (up or down) would spray water out of the top of the fitting so that water went up and over the shower screen, wetting all walls, the toilet, and anything you had placed in the bathroom. Certainly not a bathroom to serve the needs of four people. After nine hours travelling we were looking forward to a quiet drink (especially when we read about Happy Hour) followed by dinner in the hotel restaurant and an early night. Upon returning to the reception/dining area we found the bar area lights turned off and the restaurant not looking ready to greet evening guests. Upon enquiring at reception, we were advised that the restaurant was closed for the next two weeks and that there was a sign on the door - the door that automatically slides open upon entry and therefore hiding this closure notice! The receptionist advised that there was also a notice on the end of the check-in counter but this was not pointed out upon arrival and I do believe that we should have been advised of the restaurant closure upon check-in. However, the receptionist did then advise of other local venues that would be open for dinner and provided some recommendations and a map. The experience was saved for the teenage travelling companions by the free wi-fi. Overall, we were left feeling disappointed in this hotel and it certainly aided in us easily getting 'up and out the door again' the next day to continue our travels.

I've stayed here before and always seem to get room 8.I stayed Christmas Eve and Christmas night as I was visiting my daughter nearby. The pool was refreshing and the service good, even on Christmas day. Room was clean and comfortable (great mattress).Best motel in Queenbeyan and by booking through hotels.com I got $99/night.

« Great location, helpful staff »

Staff went out of their way to assist us, very friendly and helpful. Room was modern, comfortable and very clean. Great location only a short walk to main street, shops, supermarkets, restaurants etc but far enough away from traffic noise to make it a peaceful place to sleep.. Short drive from here into Canberra city, easy to find your way around. Would definitely stay here again.

    « nice accommodation »

Our room wasn't ready for us upon arrival as specifically booked, which was a major concern because I needed to sleep and shower etc to go to work. We always stay here, as it is our favourite place to stay, but the staff member who checked us in, was VERY unprofessional and was arguing with, and complaining to us, about the cleaning staff ??? We were given the wrong room, and then charged extra for staying in the room in which we had originally booked ??

    « Excellent Value »

Appearances can be deceiving. Looks like an ordinary motel from the outside, but walk into the Reception area and it's great! We had an apartment overnight, and it had everything we needed. Comfortable beds, large bathroom, nice kitchen with everything included, all very clean and recently remodelled. Large screen television, and plenty of power points; reading lights over the bed very good. A very nice pool in the middle of the grounds. Didn't try the restaurant but it looked very clean and modern.

    « Best Service Ever »

I was supposed to stay with family for the weekend but i couldn't work in the noisy environment so i booked into the Central Motel for the night, They only had a serviced apartment left but it hadn't been cleaned at the time - they were extremely accommodating and pushed the room clean up so that by the time i got a coffee the room was ready. I am extremely greatful that they went out of their way to have the room ready for me in such a short time, the staff were very polite and accommodating, the rooms are lovely and spacious (even had a hairdryer) and they smell gorgeous! I will definitely stay again - and i have told my friends about it also so they will change too.

« Great stopover for Canberra sights and shopping »

Stayed one night during a shopping trip in Canberra. This property is only 10 mins drive to the Canberra Majura park shopping complex. Great value for money with pillow top bed, large bathroom with shower. Clean and comfortable. We booked a one bedroom apartment, which had a full kitchen. We also enjoyed a lovely dinner at the in-house restaurant. The food was well-made and we really appreciated the friendliness of Kathy, who served us that night. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. In and around Canberra, this is a great stopover as parking and wifi is complimentary.

We found this room perfect for our needs and style of travel. The kitchen was complete and the space was excellent. The WiFi was axlittle intermittent but the TV sets were fine. The position of the motel was great for shopping or the obligatory walk to Kingsley's chicken for a few meals!

« Great stay in Queanbeyan »

    « Great location »

Close to showground. Easy access to bottle and supermarket. Walk to good restaurants and pubs. Room was at front of property but it was very quiet as bedroom was at rear of suite. Dated details didn't detract from enjoyable stay. Linen good quality and plentiful supply. Wouldn't purchase food or drink from reception due to ease of access to woolies and coles. Great for motorcycle travellers.

    « Great Stay »

When in Queanbeyan always stay here, BEST motel in the area. Rooms are always very clean, very spacious and great beds. Sometimes I am given an upgrade without asking which is always fantastic. Staff are ALWAYS friendly. Restuarant has fantastic food.

    « Smart and comfortable »

The motel was larger than it looks and even though it looks rather like a typical 1970s motel once you get inside the room you will be pleasantly surprised. We found a beautifully renovated room of the like found in a smart city hotel rather than a suburban motel. Nice welcome, very comfortable, everything worked as expected. Wifi was a little slow but no major problem. Excellent value all up. Will definitely recommend and stay again.

    « central location »

Loads of room, laundry facilities (and when you've just ridden 3000km to get there you probably need them! ) Very biker friendly and close to restaurants (great curry place round the corner - Punjabi Hut) and Canberra. Stayed three nights and had a great time!

    « Nice, but smelly »

Nice hotel in a good quiet location, however our mini bar cabinet area had this awful foul smell of off milk or vomit. We couldn't even open the cabinet to make a coffee without the smell enveloping the room. The rooms are small, but have everything you need for a place to put your head down for the night.

    « A comfortable one night stay »

A very pleasant room, nicely decorated and very clean, it looked more like a decent hotel room rather than a motel room. Friendly, helpful staff. I had a comfortable stay here for one night. It could have been a little noisy (I was on ground floor) if there had been loud people coming and going during the night, but luckily I was there on a quiet night. Mind you, as it is a motel, you will hear people starting their cars to leave early in the morning.

    4
    « Central to everything »

Clean and spacious rooms, located in the centre of Queanbeyan. Walking distance to cafes, supermarket and swimming pool. Onsite restaurant was ok albeit a little expensive for the selection available.

    « Fantastic! »

Arrived there after a long day and long travels. I received a phone call while I was on the road which was very nice. Arrived 10 minutes later and received a nice and warm welcome. Rooms are big, shower is nice (doesn't just drizzle ..) water is hot. The Motel is surprisingly big. Would definitely stay there again.

    3
« Great room size, poor bathroom »

Having stayed here before, we came back for the location close to family. The rooms are nice but unfortunately the bathroom was a let down. The window in the bathroom wasn't completely frosted and you could see the neighbours windows which presumably the neighbours could see in, this was quite uncomfortable. I had also put the do not disturb sign on our room door when we went out and on our return found that both times our room had been made up. Also when I was in the room I heard someone enter the room before check out time, which was very uncomforting. I let the reception know and they were apologetic so hopefully it doesn't happen again.

    « Always fabulous »

Stay here often for work trips. Always very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant serves basic but tasty dinners. Breakfast is okay. Rooms have been tastefully refurbished. Beds are very comfortable. Great location.

    3
« Convenient location for Queanbeyan »

Room 48 was a good size and at the far end of the motel complex on the middle floor. There was a nice range of bathroom products but my partner had to dip his head to enter the shower as the shower frame was not high enough for his 6'2" height. You could hear the neighbouring rooms when they took a shower or flushed the toilet. The mini bar was well stocked. The pool is very welcoming and there are barbecue facilities.

    4
« Fantastic room that was just right for the trip »

A spacious well appointed and well maintained room with a very comfortable bed. The large flat screen TV has all free to air channels and a limited Foxtel selection. The bathroom was perfect with a great shower. Check in was simple and friendly. Plenty of free off street parking. Recommended hotel.

    « My Short Stay »

Great value for money and conveniently located close to Canberra and you don't need to pay for parking like so many. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and contemporary designed room. Always a pleasure to stay.

    « Enjoyable »

We had booked a two bedroom serviced apartment for our stay when we visited Canberra. It is fairly close to the main city and the drive was around 20 mins. They are a little short staffed but Jenny at the reception made up for it with her friendly and hospitable manner. The rooms were clean and tidy with all the appliances in perfect working condition, which is sometimes too much to say for many motels. Our apartment was on the ground floor and that made it a tad darkened with no sunlight coming in. They had a good buffet selection for breakfast, the price though was a little steep. Overall an enjoyable experience.

    « Functional »

Stayed here on the way back from a short visit to Thredbo..the room initially booked in Best Western Canberra was booked out and we got a free upgrade at this place..stayed at a 2 bedroom suite which was modern, large and comfortable..nothing fancy but really functional..breakfast was average, you have a few eating places around

    « New and tidy »

The service was great and the room for us was good..it one of the better motel we have stayed in It was really close to shopping areas too which is a bonus with kids as it was all in walking distance ...................

    « Very good value »

Stayed one night, free car park and reasonable speed free internet. The room was spacious and clean (executive room), nevertheless it was located at the ground floor, but the surrounding environment was quite and a 3 mins short walk to the supermarkets and some restaurants just nearby. I can park my car just in front of my room, as a short stay, I therefore no need to move my bags for a distance, I am not sure if the hotel equipped a lift to upper floors. Front desk staffs were friendly and efficiency. However, if you are a light sleeper or intend to wake up late, I suggest you better ask for a room at upper floor, because some vehicle noise especially when people start the engine in the early morning and some staff storage/work area also located at the ground floor, you may be waken up.
