    « Poor Amenities »

After the first 5 minutes, the bottoms of my feet were black from walking around my room. The internet didn't work for half of my stay, and after calling the IT line, the front desk called my room and unapologetically said it wouldn't be fixed until tomorrow. Then it was still broken the next day. For breakfast, I went to pour myself some orange juice from the machine, and out came about a dozen fruit flies. It was a pretty subpar experience considering the nightly rate.

« Good choice in Mountain View »

Happened to be in the area on a weekend when Stanford has a home football game. Hotel rooms fill up. Our usual was booked tight so we shopped around. We have never been disappointed at a Best Western Plus hotel. Were here for a week. Good location on Calle Real. Amazingly quiet and clean room with good beds. That's all we ask. Front desk and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful.

« This place is old »

I hate it when I have to stay in an overpriced location. But when you pay too much you expect a little bit more. Instead all you get is a nice bed and friendly staff. our card key didn't work twice and we had to move to a different room, the tile in the bathrooms looks dirty and the tile was installed in the 60's If all you want is a bed, you are good. But don't look for much else. This is also a hotel that caters to the out of town contractors,

    « Great service »

The front desk provided excellent customer service. I was really impressed overall. They really did go above and beyond in making sure that everything was in place for me as a guest. I would recommend this location to any visitors.

    « mini trip stay »

overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel. we've been coming to this hotel for the past 6 years and have never had any problems or issues. The staff here were very helpful and pleasant. Beds are very comfortable and always had our room freshened up daily. we will be coming back

    « After concert stay »

Check in was smooth, pleased with the room. When we returned from the concert we could not find a parking spot and the nite clerk came out to tell us about the other parking lot,she didn't have to come out.It was very nice of her.The breakfast was one of the best I have seen at any hotel.I would stay there anytime.

« Great location and awesome value! »

The bed was really comfortable, Love the pillows and breakfast was really good! Plenty of parking space. Great location for an awesome value. The only thing that I didn't like that there were a lot of smokers outside the room. I didn't smell the smoke inside my room but that bothered me a little bit.

    « Good Backup Hotel »

Friendly staff. Breakfast selections is good. My only concerns is how dirty and stained the chair/furniture in the room was so I didn't use it. Beds were comfortable and clean. I normally stay at another hotel but rooms were booked so I tried BW Mountain View Inn. I will return in the event if I need to.

« Terrible business travel experience »

The ONLY saving grace of this place is the front desk staff. Noisy motel, people constantly out on walkways talking. Room is non-smoking but smells like smoke covered up with something. No elevators, only stairs. Phone in room completely dead. One outlet available at desk unless I want to get on my hands and knees and rearrange the plugs in the wall. WiFi is horrendous, can't keep a connection for more than a minute or so and when it does work it's extremely slow. Thankfully, it worked long enough for me to write this review to tell you to avoid this place.

« This motel charges DOUBLE their advertised rates. »

As far as the rooms go, it's just a standard run of the mill Best Western motel room. Nothing fancy or special, and for the $179 per night advertised rate, we thought it would be a fair deal because we tend to stay at BW chain motels whenever we need a layover point. What we found was that this particular motel charges DOUBLE their advertised rate. We paid $406 for a double room. Lesson learned, and while we still believe that Best Westerns do provide a good value for the dollars spent, THIS PARTICULAR location will be avoided because their operating policies amount to unscrupulous business practices at best. We have never been charged double a room's rate in any other Best Western motel regardless of the time of check in.

« Decent place to stay and price in the area »

This hotel is adequate and the lobby is nice. The price is high for other comparable hotels, but that is the price of the area. I would say this is a pretty good deal for the region. The room was not as clean as I would like, with glass rings still on tables and counters.

    « Silly Valley Values »

I am constantly amazed at the cost of living in Silicon Valley and what goes as an acceptable rate at a motel! The Best Western Mountain View Inn is dated even compared to other Best Westerns I have stayed at yet still charges a very high room rate. Rooms are in a desperate need of a freshness upgrade. Otherwise it reminded me of a standard US highway motel with a small packet coffee machine, microwave and mini-fridge. No upgrades in terms of shampoo or soap either. Based on the cost alone, I could not recommend this motel when the you are in the birthplace of the shared economy.

    « Awful Experience »

I booked a room for a stay from June 8 - June 10 here while on a business trip. I arrived at the hotel around 930 PM from another business trip in Chicago. It had been a long day of work and travel, and I wanted to kick back and relax. After checking in, I discovered that my TV was not working. There were cables all over the place and it was clear that someone had removed the cable box. Not thrilled with this, so I immediately look for other hotels available in the area but it's too late and nothing has vacancy. So I go back to the front desk to tell them that my TV is out and to please move me to another room, but the girl at the front desk told me there were no other rooms available and nothing she could do about the television. Her name was Hazel and she was very respectful. She offered me 20% off of my stay, which I begrudgingly accepted knowing that I had no other choice. So instead of decompressing watching some television after a long day, I do more work until I can fall asleep. The following day I managed to snag a room at a different hotel. I was working all day and get back to the Best Western around 8PM and tell them that I will not be staying with that evening. Given my experience the night before, I tell that I think they should refund my 2nd night. Hazel says she understands, but will have to ask her manager. Her manager says no and has Hazel email me the next day. Perhaps other people would disagree and say that 20% off is enough to make up for the experience of a hotel not having a working television in the room. For what was $247 / night, I think it was totally unacceptable. The hotel itself is not in great shape, but they clearly up the prices due to the location and all of the business going in and out of the valley. Overall, this was a terrible customer service experience. The hotel is old and does not live up to the standards of other Best Westerns I have stayed in. Given the experience, this will likely be the last time I ever stay at a Best Western again. I would recommend others to avoid this place unless absolutely necessary, and if you do stay here, brace yourself.

« One night stay in QQ suite »

I wish I could remember the name of the guest service agent who checked me in because she was the main reason for my stay satisfaction. While my room was not ready for early check in as I had requested, I empathize she had a lot of early request check-ins due to the event in the area. It seems as if they may have been understaffed for the event in both housekeeping and guest service agents, which could've made the check-in process smoother, as well as since I called ahead of time and requested even a 1-130 check in and was told there shouldn't be a problem, arrived around 2 with the room still not ready. I wish it could've been put as a priority with housekeeping since I had called, put a request in my reservation, and had arrived early; usually if there is an early arrival housekeeping would be sent up to get that room ready as soon as possible, not just go through with the natural order the list of rooms. I had booked the suite and it had been the only one available so my only thing would be I wish it was not set back so far in getting ready for check-in. Other than that service was great. Like I said, still the service I received was accommodating, and I was offered to switch to a standard room that would be ready, just wanted to keep the suite. The QQ suite was pretty nice with a full kitchen, including stove, and a jet tub. Very Clean. Thank you.

    « Average hotel »

This is just an average hotel with pretty basic rooms. Nothing bad but nothing stood out either. There was a strong dust smell in my first day in the room and I woke up with people noise outside but other than that it was fine. They have free WiFi and pretty decent basic breakfast. For the price they are charging, I expected more.

    « Sheraton prices, Motel 6 quality »

Aged facility without elevator, crowded parking lot, small rooms, inadequate bathroom lighting, a mexican palm leave that is next to parked cars and it hits you in the face as you enter the downstairs corridor. Way overpriced for what is offered. Taking advantage of the location. Worse Best Western Plus I've seen, in my last 60+ stays.

    « Beware! »

This place is run down and had BED BUGS!!! I was not told that the pool and spa was closed when I booked the reservations The furniture is in tatters. This is an upscale area and should have clean well appointed hotels. this is not one of them .

    « Incredible Value »

A great hotel in a great location. My not have all the bells and whistles as others nearby, but it is clean and comfortable with pool, breakfast and free internet...and at half the price as others with a turndown service. I'd rather save the money and buy my own Andes mints for $2.

    « Conference visit »

Great area for food, hotels, and access to college and San Francisco. i would recommend this hotel for the convenience, nice kitchenette, gym facility and refrigerator, service and comfortable beds. Enjoy your stay

« Terrible on so many levels... »

I'm not a posh traveler. Let's just get that out-of-the-way. I am more than all right with your average Joe accommodations but this place just had so many faults that I can't help but call them out. The rates for most hotels in Mountain View are absurd to begin with so you need to temper your expectations. For over $200 US a night, you would expect something nice but the price of admission is only the first insult at this place. The room smell was an allergy-inducing musty, if there had been a flood or something and the place never dried out. The furniture had a dull, drab feel to it that makes you want to turn the superwhite energy efficient bulbs off. The area of the hotel is located in is not great for anything walking distance. Access to any of the rooms is through outside so you have to lug suitcases up and down stairs and strange people tend to make noises outside the hotel at night, which is a little discomforting, even for an adult male. Suffice to say, I didn't feel safe and during the four days I stayed here, slept with one eye open every night. I have stayed at many Best Westerns over the years and there are some things that they all do right, such as the complementary breakfast which has a reasonable variety of choices. Still, for this amount of money, even in this area, you can do better. The place is in desperate need of an update so look elsewhere.

« Fantastic location and staff! »

This is a fantastic location. Hard working and caring staff. During my week stay, I was able to enjoy a great night sleep due to the comfortable beds and quiet property. The room was spotless. The breakfast was delicious, hot, and very fulfilling. There was plenty of crispy bacon, eggs, potatoes, bread, bagels, and waffles. I'm looking forward to staying here for next couple of weeks. Special thanks to Luiz, Guadalupe, Teresa y Laura for being very accommodating to my work schedule.

    « Best Western Plus »

The kids wanted to go swimming when it was 90 degrees outside and they couldn't because the pool was being maintenance for our whole stay of one wee. The breakfast was good but there was no variety. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, pastries bagels, Belgian waffles, fruit. There was no toaster to make toast for 3 days of our stay. because it was broken.

« ***Great value for a great location*** »

This is a basic hotel with everything you need for your stay, and the location can't be beat. Clean, comfortable, basic TV, WiFi, breakfast, small fridge and very courteous and helpful staff. They're not offering fancier stuff; but then again, they don't charge you for those things. It's a great hotel at a great location for a great value. I travel here two times per month, and use them on every trip.

« If you book via online third-party agent, this hotel will scam extra $$ from you! »

I booked via an online third party booking agent (i.e. Trivago, Hotwire, Expedia, etc.) and thought everything was okay, minus the breakfast (it was terrible). However, 3 days later I received a credit card charge of $55 for undisclosed pets. We didn't have pets but the hotel refuses to reimburse or admit they made a mistake. Were actually surprisingly rude about it. Now I have to fight through my CC company, but who needs the hassle. Book here at your own risk!

« Amazing stay @ best western hotel »

We had an extremely relaxing stay with clean and comfortable beds. Thanks a lot to Hazel Rosas for her efforts, she was very helpful and professional in making our night memorable before our long trip back to London. The location is very convenient with easy to access to the freeway and many restaurants and shops. 30 minutes away from the airport. I will definitely return for another night if I get the opportunity.

    « 20 year old beds »

Very nice looking hotel but the beds are worn out. The bed I slept in was shaped like a bowl. The swimming pool was out of service... it seems all swimming pools are out of service (cost cutting?) The staff was friendly but could not explain the construction project in the parking lot saying the owner does not communicate well with them. Perhaps this is a money making venture for an absentee landlord. The effort is all on appearance but scratch the surface and you find rotting infrastructure.

« Handy location, not bad place »

A number of things were not what I am used to expecting at Best Western.... Dirty sheet; poorly kept room, adequate breakfast, good location, pleasant staff. For Silicon Valley, decent price. Would think twice before returning there.

« Average Best Western Hotel--but not Best Western Plus »

This is an old motel with parking outside the door. Pros: Good location Excellent breakfast with eggs, bacon, and many other choices Clean Cons: Noisy during the week, when Silicon valley folks leave for work at 6:00am; also noise from parking lots, staff conversations, and loud conversations right outside the rooms; little privacy in rooms unless dark curtains are closed. Poor lighting for reading or getting dressed Tiny, old bathroom; separate sink counter (very low for adults) with one sink Thin, white towels that have turned gray Spotty servicing of rooms: towels removed but not replaced, empty shampoo not replaced, regular coffee not provided Beds okay but not up to the standard of other BWPlus hotels Dark, depressing interiors Very expensive during the week; price falls to half on weekends Fridge so noisy we had to turn it off to sleep Ineffective, noisy heating and cooling

    « Great Value »

The property may be a little older and is a motel but they've done a very nice job with room decor and amenities. The staff was exceptional... as a professional business traveler that stays at all types of hotels the staff here was very accommodating, helpful and friendly like what I would expect at a 5 star hotel.

    « Stanford Visit »

Old motel - remodeled. Poor lighting. Water in carpet near heating/cooling unit. Door had a 1 inch gap at the top - letting light and air in. Good beds. Good breakfast. For the price - it was adequate.

« Our own spot to relax while visiting family »

We wanted a reasonably priced location near our family in Mountain View. It was nice to have our own spot to relax at the end of the busy day. It also gave our relatives a chance to relax during the several weeks of our visit. Their apartment was only 10 blocks away.

« good vaiue for the price in this area »

But not more than that. Breakfast was typical for his kind of hotel. Room have not been refurbished for a long time. Difficult to find parking when arriving late. Not really recommendable for families

« OK, but not great »

It's an older BW, more like a motel than a hotel. The rooms are showing there age and not in a good way. The staff is friendly, but they close the lobby after 11PM and you have to talk to the night clerk through a little portal. So if you arrive late like I did it can be pretty off putting. Lots of good food options within a few blocks up El Camino. OK for a night or three. I was here for 2+ weeks and really was hoping for something better.

    « Unsatisfactory Stay »

The room I was given was not the one I reserved and when it was brought to the staff's attention, I was told I was wrong. When I showed them the reservation confirmation, they admitted the mistake. When I asked for a refund of the difference of the price of the rooms, I was met with a lot of resistence. Our reservation was for 3 nights, but we only stayed two. We tried to make it 1, but I was told there was a 24 Hour cancellation policy. The staff needs a crash course on how to treat visitors. We definitely won't be back and will warn our friends and family about our experience at this location.

    « Review »

Not good. If I knew it in advance, I will not book it. It is ok kind of hotel. Neither in future, I will book nor I will recommend any one of my friends to stay in it. It is kind of general stay. It is not very comfortable. Utilities are horrible. Even Water supply is very bad and you can not turn on. Badly designed.

« Good for the Area »

A blast from the past with outside doors but very well maintained, clean and with updated rooms. Wireless Internet very good. Much better than Hilton properties I usually stay at. Staff is pleasant. May become my go to for the area which is very expensive and typically sold out 2 weeks + in advance.

« Good Compromise in Expensive Area »

I have stayed here a lot on business trips to the area. This is a well kept up 60s or 70's two story motel (note-no elevator, so ask for a ground floor if you have to avoid stairs!), with outside corridors and with mildly updated interiors. Friendly staff, clean, decent breakfast, and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are mostly on the smaller size, but adequate, except for a couple big units with separate bedrooms. Tiny pool and exercise room but usable. Lots of parking, unlike some places in the area, although you have to drive around the far side of the building and park underneath, once the limited central parking is taken (remember the stairs, so drop your bags first!). Prices are VERY high compared to Best Western properties elsewhere, but about average for the local area. Be prepared for a shock! A number of very good restaurants within longer walking distance (mostly North and South along San Antonio Rd) and excellent Indian (next door) and Chinese (Hunan) very close, across the street). Really crummy fast food place directly across the street.

    « Average »

The rooms are pretty spacious and clean, but the service and facilities are relatively poor, my experience started well when they managed to check me 1 hr earlier than the normal (3pm) and offered me a room with a jacuzzi, but they still made it seem like a big deal, then, they later refused a late check unless they charge me for an extra day meaning that the room wasn't even booked. The room had a pretty poor complementary bar, and no mini bar for extra drinks/water or food. They have no kitchen service other than a very small breakfast, so if you want food you have to order a delivery from a pretty expensive menu they provide. and it takes 1 hr for it to arrive.

« good value for Silicon Valley »

Our first time at this BW. We found the staff very welcoming, room clean and well equipped. The breakfast room is spacious, food selections very good. We would certainly consider returning. Our one issue is that the shower/tub did not have grab bars.

« Older but not forgotten »

This hotel appears dated from the outside. However, there were no problems with the rooms. The beds were comfortable. It was quiet. And, everything worked. Unfortunately, we did not get to have their breakfast as it did not open until 0700 hours and we had to leave to make a flight connection before that time. BTW it is very convenient to San Jose International Airport being only about 12 freeway miles away. The price was resonable for the area.

    « Standard Business Hotel »

I stayed there for 4 nights and it was ok. The breakfast included fresh fuit salad, which was a plus, the rooms have old carpets, which is a minus. I got a room far away from El Camio Real, I could imagine that a room close to El Camio Real could be noisy in particular during night.

« As good as it gets for this price point in the Valley »

I regularly stay at the Best Western Plus in Mountain View when I want to minimize commute time. The hotel is as good as it gets in the Valley at this price point (with the exception of the nearby Hilton Garden Inn, which is most often booked). Good sleeping conditions, good Wi-Fi, no gym, average breakfast. But: Walk for 5min and you get to Whole Foods, perfect for breakfast of dinner

    « No complaints - good value »

Clean, roomy, well maintained. Decent motel. Friendly, accommodating staff. Didn't use the pool or hot tub, but they looked clean . Didn't eat breakfast at motel so not sure if it was good. Noise was not a problem.

« Not worth it, especially the Wifi sucks »

First the good part: The lady at the check-in counter was super helpful and helped find a good room, informed me about the breakfast (didnt know that it came with the plan) and also was able to tell me about the wifi. Once I got to the room, it was nice and looked like it was kept clean. On the places to improve part: There are challenges. The faucet doesnt in the shower doesnt work that great. The bathtub was very slippery even before the shower started. Someone can easily slip and the hotel should invest in bath mats. Lastly, the wifi doesnt work one bit. It shows that you are connected, but no emails go through. Going to a web-page is super slow. The comment you hear from front-desk is to contact some 3rd party vendor to help fix it. Really?!?!. Anyway, disappointing that being in the Bay Area and customers needing access to internet is crucial, it was very tough.
