Best Western Moore Place Hotel

We booked the restaurant for a big family get together for mothers day and what a lovely day we had. The roast dinners were amazing (big homemade yorkshires), the burgers were huge and the staff were great. 19 people served quickly and all happy with there meals. This place is a 'must visit' for a lovely Sunday roast.

I arrived at Moore Place on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted by welcoming and friendly staff. During my brief stay the staff were always attentive and ready to help and gave good tips for good local food! It made the overnight one of the more enjoyable ones I have had recently!

I would say room was clean. We were in the cottage room 87. We couldn't open windows. Facilities ok for the price we paid. Just was average really. Lights only on or off no bedside lights that could be independently switched off at the bedside. Lovely roll top bath with shower attachment. No screening. Good offering for breakfast. Just if putting out meats and cheeses a roll or crispbread would be better. Hubby said sausages were good and looked worth eating too.

What a Gem of a place, very welcoming, great facilities, helpful staff. Recommended. We needed somewhere to meet up with our son and his young family. We were made to feel welcome from the start, nothing was too much trouble.

After visiting Hertfordshire to see a family member in Pantomime we were looking for a hotel near my daughter's in-laws in order to make rendezvous to collect their dog as my daughter and family had flown out to Copenhagen for New Year after the pantomime.

Stayed just one night and had a lovely room in the annex. Was made aware on booking that the restaurant would not be open due to an event but had already planned on going to the Thai restaurant just next door. Arrived a couple of hours early but staff were happy to check us in early as our room was ready. After dropping our luggage off in our room, spent most of the afternoon in a the pub across the road and were lucky enough to see the Christmas lights switch on in the village. Had a lovely meal in the Thai restaurant. A good , comfortable night's sleep in our room before enjoying a lovely buffet breakfast before checking out. Beautiful hotel with lots of character, just a little run-down in places which is a shame. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it this hotel is in beautiful and quiet location but 10 minutes drive to Woburn we have a lovely suite with separate sitting room bearkfast is very good whether it is served to you or a buffet there is a very nice pub over the road and a Thai restaurant next door I could not really fault the hotel

Was attending a wake at the hotel and came direct from the Church as I am disabled and not able to go to the crematorium. I asked if I could buy some food while I was waiting and was told they couldn't so had to get in my car and drive to Tesco Express in the village to buy a sandwich. The Country has gone to pot.

We wanted a good hotel somewhere close to Milton Keynes so chose this one. We had a very enjoyable stay with a very comfortable room. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel has ample free car parking.

Absolutely shocking hotel. Lovely building. Staff fixated on £££ Rooms, filthy dirty Facilities old and tired. Quality of food is shocking and the staff have no no concept of customer service. Lad on the bar is beyond rude and the breakfast waitress plain ignorant.

A lovely 1-night stay at Moore Place Hotel. Easy to find, with plenty of car parking space. Fast, friendly check-in, comfortable standard double room, (with super shower), and excellent restaurant. We had dinner and breakfast there, both excellent. Such happy, friendly staff, who greeted regular dining guests so well, it's no wonder they keep coming back. Good value for money, quiet location and pretty outdoor seating area. We'll be back...thanks to the lovely team.

Bed was bumpy and lumpy, pillows was flat, floor needed hoovering, bath still had the dirt the previous occupants left in, reported tv as broken as it wouldn't switch on, nothing was done about it the room had a stale smell and the bedding felt very old and stiff

When we arrived staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Everyone was extremely professional form the reception team to the bar staff. Really lovely hotel, good food friendly atmosphere would highly recommend. .

Hotel was easy to find, reception pleasant. Room allocated was in the ‘cottage' and was of an acceptable standard. The one disappointment was that there is no daily housekeeping servicing the rooms. If you want towels, bedding changed, you have to request it. Basic things such as tea, coffee, milk, shower gel, shampoo and even toilet rolls have to be requested at reception. Breakfast was good, tea and coffee served at the table and refilled on request. Hot breakfast buffet was good, it was kept warm and moist. We had dinner on one evening. Service and food was good. The reason we only ate in for one night was that the menu remained the same for all 4 night of our stay.

I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. First let me say the staff are cheerful, friendly, helpful and obliging. However, knowledge of wines and drinks poor. They seem to be a bit leaderless, lacking direction. I got the impression from the start that this was a hotel struggling to keep it's head above water. Fixtures and fittings seem worn and tired. House keeping is minimal, rooms are only serviced on request ! A new one on me, as all hotels I have ever stayed in have had house keeping in daily to make the beds and clean the bathroom at least. On the up side, the food was excellent in quallity and quantity, but the service slow. I was with a group, so some had nearly finished before others had got their meal. There was confusion over who had ordred what, but we had a correct list ! Our room was basic but comfortable. TV and WiFi, yes. The Clock radio alarm was from the ark and not working. No telephone and no sign of room service which is advertised. I don't want to be unfair to the staff, but I will not be returning to this hotel any time soon.

Beautiful grounds, garden with waterfall pool feature,.quiet location. Staff are ALL helpfull & pleasant. Ample roomspace for wedding & reception .. I can reccomend without any hesitation. I would be happy to stay here again in future

Spacious, comfortable and warm. Had a great sleep, nice and quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful when called upon. Plenty of parking. Well stocked bar in lovely area of the hotel. Great location for Woburn Sands, a 15 min walk.

A lovely overnight stay in a large , clean and well presented room. Although dinner was not available on the evening, we walked to the nearby Thai restaurant which was perfect. Our breakfast, after a good , undisturbed, night's sleep, was well presented, tasty and hot.

Our second visit here with about 40 guests for a group dinner. Some of us stayed over night too. Service and customer care from all staff was delivered with great attention to detail and made our event run smoothly. In particular the group booking coordinator and the group host went out of their way to make everything easy and smooth running. The food was good, the rooms were perfect, beds comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and everyone was very courteous and friendly. We will be returning I am sure.

Nice hotel with a lovely room. We treated ourselves for not much extra, to a room with a four poster bed, the was spacious, warm, bright, clean and tidy with an excellent en-suite bathroom. I felt completely rested just after a night's stay.

Stayed from Christmas Eve until Boxing Day, wonderful service from all of the staff working over the festive season. Rooms spacious, clean and large bathroom. We only stayed for breakfast each morning as visiting family during the daytime, lots of choice and hot breakfast was of a good quality. Lovely hotel, definitely recommend.

I have stayed a few times and got to know the friendly staff. They are very professional indeed. The whole hotel is lovely. Nice lounge area and Bar area. Lovely restaurant with excellent food. Easy to check in. Nothing is too much trouble. The grounds are lovely too. It's in a lovely village. Across the road is a lovely pub that does food too if you fancy a change. It's called The Anchor. This hotel is handily-placed in the centre of the village right next to the Blue Orchid Restaurant, which serves some of the best Thai food I have ever eaten and was the venue of the function that brought us to Aspley Guise. The hotel itself is beautiful in a tasteful and understated way. It offers just the ambience one would expect for a weekend in archetypal English countryside. We were very pleased to have chosen to stay in a 4-poster bed suite that seemed to have been not long refurbished and was well-equipped with everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. All things considered, we would be only too happy to stay in this hotel again.

The car park was completely full when we arrived, due to people using it to park while they visited the nearby pub. The car park was also extremely icy due to the weather and had not been sufficiently gritted The guest room was tired and shabby, with chipped surfaces and stained carpet. The sheets on the bed were barely tucked in. The radiator in the room was on full blast and could not be adjusted, meaning the room was stifling. The heat, even with the window open during the -4 temperature was unbearable. When we told staff this, we were told that it was a common problem in some of the rooms. There was no mirror in the room, only in the bathroom, but no plug sockets in the bathroom so drying/styling hair was impossible. The flush on the toilet was barely working, and required multiple pumping to flush paper.

We always stay at this hotel as its so beautiful and it has everything you need. Staff are always there for anything you need. We only had an issue with our mattress where the spring kept coming through.

Lovely room ( number 82), spacious, comfortable bed,warm,great location. Only down side is being an old building the creaky floor boards in above room is really annoying and noisy pipes from upstairs bathroom usage but i would recommend staying here and will visit again.

Having spent a fair amount of time at this hotel over the past year it has worked it's way in to my heart as a home from home. Some rooms may feel like your Nan's front room but some very cozy. The staff always recognise my name before I arrive and do everything to make my stay relaxed and enjoyable. Look forward to my next visit.

We did an overnight stay before going to Woburn on the Sunday morning. It was quiet throughout the hotel, the cottage was lovely and the breakfast was of good value and quality. We would just like to say well done that offers free sanitary wear, as we have never seen that before in hotels.

Enjoyed my stay here in the main building. Nice rooms, solid internet, and good value for money. Really enjoyed the breakfast, and found staff to be very pleasant. Very quiet rooms, although my room was a bit cold and the windows would't lock because the lock latches were misaligned, which I would have liked to do since my room was on the ground level.

Great value for money in a quiet location. The staff were very friendly, but professional, and nothing was too much trouble for them. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay. , lovely service and a great room.

We stayed here before my daughter's birthday trip to nearby Woburn Safari park, and booked a family room (2 adults and 2 children under 7). The venue is rather tired generally. But we only needed somewhere to sleep and eat so were willing to give it a go. However the family room had a number of issues. Namely broken or soiled furniture. The sofa bed was awful, with a metal frame sticking out and scratching anyone who lay on it, and the springs were visible through the mattress. It was so uncomfortable my children ended up in our bed - which meant none of us had a great night sleep. There was staining on cushions, wires hanging from the TV, a huge gap in the patio doors which meant a draft (and didn't feel very secure). The water was scalding hot in the bathroom and there were chips to the corners of the dressing tables which felt rather dangerous to kids (which, surely is a consideration in a family room). When we arrived there were old room service items left under the chair in the hall. And it all felt a little underwhelming, On the bright side the breakfast was pretty decent and the staff serving it were helpful and polite. The toaster wasn't working but the selection of hot food was good, Its also a great location for exploring Woburn. I did mention our issues to reception but no real acknowledgement sadly.

Only stayed 2 nights. But everything from booking to leaving went like clockwork. Very happy helpful staff. Internet good, Restaurant food excellent, good choice good value.The room we had was clean tidy and good size. Beware of hot water, really hot! Would stay again.

We were visiting Bletchley Park and some local National Trust properties, and this hotel was ideally located for this. The Hotel is 3 star, but with a 5 star welcome and excellent value for money. The room was clean and functional. The staff were exemplary in the reception, bar and breakfast/dining room. They made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble, and it was nice to "chat" to them about the local history, the history of the hotel and surrounding areas. Special mention for Dee and Becky managing the bar and reception areas who were so helpful, and made out stay special. That said, all the staff were lovely. The breakfast was a typical buffet spread, but the food was excellent, fresh, and plentiful, and included a hot cooked English breakfast. Next door is a rather lovely Thai restaurant that serves outside during July and September, and the atmosphere and surroundings were lovely, along with the well priced menu, and staff,

Convenient for golf break at Woburn golf club but accommodation very poor quality - in need of significant refurbishment and modernisation. Room very small, worn linen and extremely noisy.if you don't have ear-plugs then don't expect to sleep.

Basic room. Buildings and furnishings shabby. Rather grubby in places. All in all though excellent value for money. Nice location. Much better than a Travelodge or Premier Inn. Good hearty breakfast. Polite friendly staff.

I stayed at the Moore Palace Hotel with my teenage son as we were attending a concert at Wembley Stadium and didn't want to pay the ridiculous prices the hotels nearer to the stadium were charging. We were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel was less than 5 mins drive off the M1 Junction and around a 50-60 min drive to Wembley so was perfectly positioned for us. The hotel itself is in a quiet tranquil hamlet so no noisy traffic issues and no noise from other establishments. Perfect to get away from it all. As the hotel restaurant doesn't open until 5pm you can eat at a local pub just round the corner, or as we did, take a 5 minute drive into Woburn Sands where you are spoilt for choice. The room itself was cosy and the beds comfy. The breakfast was good with a nice selection of both hot and cold items buffet stye. I would definately use the hotel again should I need to.

We stayed here before heading over to Woburn Safari Park for an amazing elephant experience. I had mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary and on arrival found that we had been upgraded to the most beautiful 4 poster bedroom. Hotel full of charm and hospitality. The 3 ladies on duty in the evening at reception, the bar and in the dining room were so friendly and made the evening. Thank you all. A sensible menu in the dining room gave good choice without frills and the food was delicious. Breakfast was good (although no butter available and we should have proper HP sauce not some weird brand!) Altogether an excellent stay.

I stayed here on a business trip, there were 10 of us in total. The hotel rooms were a tad tired and in need of modernisation, however, I could happily overlook this as the room was clean with everything I needed. The shower and bath were spot on and there was a fan in the room to use for the muggy weather. The staff were fab, very friendly and accommodating with a great sense of humour. The food in the restaurant was really fabulous, none of us had a less than excellent meal. Thank you to all the staff for a great stay.

We had a lovely stay in this hotel. First thing we saw was the pretty outside area where we sat a few times in the sunshine during our stay to have a drink. We had a very friendly greeting and were soon given our key. We were in no 84 which was fine. It's in need of a bit of an update but we were happy with it. It had character. The door was a bit stiff and we struggled every time we entered. The bed was huge although it was two single beds pushed together but it was comfy. The bathroom was clean and the shower nice and warm. I would recommend this place and also would like to say that the staff were lovely and friendly.

My partner booked us this hotel for a trip to see a concert at MK Dons stadium. We drove down, parking was easy but there's not always a stop guaranteed. I think we stayed either when there was an event or the hotel was at capacity as one night we did struggle for parking, but we found somewhere! We were welcomed at the hotel, check in was easy and we got a nice cold drink from the bar (much needed!). Our cottage was warm, had a musty smell but I think that adds to the vibe. Nothing opening a window couldn't solve. I must admit I thought it was an escape room at first, the decor was a bit old but that's what a cottage would have been decorated as. We found spare pillows in the cupboard which was helpful, if not I would of had to request another as one pillow was too low. We loved our stay and was very happy with the staff, ease of use and the room itself. Next time we visit I would definitely stay again! Also visit around the local area. We loved Frost garden centre and found Kingston district park the best for food.

The hotel staff are so friendly and helpful, but it is shabby and needs updating. It could do with some investment in fixtures and fittings. The rooms need updating. My colleague had a towel rail that was on while it was very hot indeed

Lovely hotel, great food and service however I would strongly advise double checking your room as we were placed in a different room to which we booked and it was very disappointing and for me ruined the stay.

For the price paid for a twin room £165 we were very disappointed to only have one thin pillow each with no spares in the room. There was only one bath towel between us and, although I'm sure I could get another from reception, I expect 2 in the room for 2 people. The fan in the bathroom didn't work so it fogged up quickly and there was a down lighter on the wall not working. I had to check twice that the beds were fresh as they were so rumpled. There was no dressing table only a desk with a mirror in the wardrobe and the fogged up mirror in the bathroom Overall the room was very poor although it was clean and we were disappointed. Won't be back anytime soon

Stay over night before going to Bletchley park the next day We travelled up from south London and from the time you walk in all the staff in this hotel are so helpful and polite they are a credit to the brand. The lady on the reception was so professional as it seemed that a dozen visitors had decided to turn up at the same and yet she kept her cool made us laugh and dealt with us all so well her name Dee. Also the 2 ladies on the bar and restaurant were brilliant lovely smiles and again so helpful and a credit to the Hotel.

Excellent friendly and professional staff. Slightly limited menu for the evening meal but tasty and served in good time. Only small quibble was that the bathroom could do with some slight attention (some bits of grouting seemed to be missing in the shower) but clean enough.

Stayed in the cottages away from main hotel quiet and peaceful Good sized room with shower and bath good nights sleep Over all good hotel for a break away from it all. Good value as breakfast was offered free with this booking

I recently got married here on May 7th 2022. I cannot recommend Moore Place enough as a place to get married. Dee and her staff were absolutely incredible, everything was seamless. I didn't have to worry once about things going right on my big day as it was all taken care off. The wedding breakfast was incredible, all came out in great time! The DJ & hog roast in the evening also went down a big treat, cannot recommended them enough either! All recommended & supplied by the hotel with the package. Vikki / Louise (went on Maternity a couple of months into planning) were also incredible and again helped arrange the whole thing! The suite that my husband and I said in was immaculate, very large sized room, comfortable & spacious bed! Shower & a bath. Just want to thank the hotel for everything they did for my husband and I Hayley & Mathew Walton!

Selected this excellent hotel whilst attending a friends wedding reception in the locality. Peaceful setting, good value and friendly staff. I have stayed on several occasions and will continue to do so.

We booked Moore Place for one night to attend a family party nearby. My aunt and uncle were also booked to stay for 4 nights. On arrival at the hotel, it was evident that we were one of a few rooms who were not attending a party at the hotel. Our room was clean but very dated and the curtains were very grubby. The shower was cold and we were not far from the main Reception so it was very noisy. We had dinner upstairs away from the party and this was where we received the best service. The staff were very friendly and the food was good although my aunt and I were ill through the night. My aunt raised some concerns about their room - noisy and right next to reception- and was told that they could move. She had stayed at the hotel previously in December and was offered the same room. On asking whether the blind had been fixed that she had mentioned in December, she was told ‘no'. There was a fight amongst some of the other guests and the police were allegedly called at 1am. On mentioning it to the staff, there was no acknowledgement that we may have been disturbed or apology - we were informed that it wasn't the hotel's fault. The women on Reception were not particularly welcoming or sympathetic when any issues were raised, and one commented that they were looking forward to home at 11pm to their own bed. I feel that the restaurant staff were a strength to the hotel and that we may have had different service if there was not a loud and noisy party happening but maybe we could have been informed of this on booking as we called the hotel directly. The whole hotel is in need of a refurb with cracked and marked walls throughout. The unisex toilets upstairs near the room where we ate also needed a good clean. We will not be returning.

This location and hotel rating is my precise need to stay for a race weekend. By myself. not alone this accomadating village stay provided internal necessities and location to possible outings to surrounding areas. hotel service and food and bar good. no sub standard service given. I am not one to sit on a train and say shush. freedom and free will. walls are thin as everywhere else , rooms, i had a double standard , excellent. again i do not have to cater to a connoisseur of bedding matress sleepability, or whether i need a topper. i hunker down. i had a good time. room was fine. Price post covid offer. basics will do. i would not pay 75 - 100 GBP. a night. per person. age 50.

Fantastic hotel in a pretty village close to Milton Keynes. Only 15 mins from town centre and MKDons stadium, and Bletchley. Very friendly and helpful staff, rooms good size and comfortable. Perfect for our small family meet up and visit to Bletchley Park. Nice bar area for an evening drink. Great breakfast too with the finest mushrooms north of the Shire.

Love the service given by Best Western hotels and would always choose to stay with them if possible. The staff are always so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are always very well presented and comfortable. Not been to one yet where I've been disappointed.

I enjoyed one night's stay here. The service was excellent, the staff were all very friendly, my room was roomy with a balcony. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Then the ‘icing on the cake' was a delicious full English breakfast the following morning! I can recommend this hotel - I would definitely stay here again.

Room was lovely we stayed in the cottage . Staff and food was excellent. The breakfast choice was big and tasty . Will be going back and recommend to anyone staying in the area . Plenty of car parking

We were four colleagues staying for business. The hotel is in a lovely village. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, very good quality and choice. Every member of staff we came across were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately a colleague tested positive for COVID during our stay so we had to cut short our visit. Staff dealt with the situation so well. We were all provided with a breakfast to go bag which was again excellent. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending the hotel and as we will have to return to complete our business trip we will definitely book to stay agin. Thanks to all the staff.

We booked this for a quiet romantic night away from the kids. We where looking forward to a lovely dinner in the restaurant. The restaurant and Infact all of downstairs and outside was being used for 40th birthday party so we where sent upstairs so a makeshift dining room for our meal, made of 6 tables. Poorly laid out, basic and not what we expected. After our meal we went down for a drink at the bar. Couldn't even get to the bar for all the people around it from the party. Qued for 15 mins to get a drink! The bar staff saw me standing there and served everyone around me but me. Finally got drinks, took a seat and found a hair in my gin! Disgusting! Gave up at this point and went to the room. The phone then rings, reception saying we had to go pay for our meal, right then! So you out of bed, and went to pay for the meal which we assumed we'd pay for on checkout as you would most hotels! Ironically they didn't make us queue at the bar to pay for a meal they rushed us to the front funny they couldn't do this when we wanted a drink!! Decided we didn't want to stay after all this, so left at 10pm and went home! Won't be returning!

Excellent value, very nice large room, very quiet and everything needed was available. Attendees a private function and was given a free upgrade on arrival. Room had a lovely view of the courtyard, ample parking onsite and situated in the lovely village. Staff were friendly and helpful.

On this occasion , our usual hotel was considerably more expensive and this hotel seemed very pleasant at a lesser price . And so it turned out to be. The staff were pleasant and chatty , the room was large , nicely decorated and had most mod cons, kettle and all the makings. There was large bath (we were in cottage room) and the bed was comfy too. Breakfast was included in our deal and the waitress staff there were excellent. Food was okay too

Stayed at the hotel on my own, such a friendly, safe atmosphere. The staff were really helpful and kind, but not overly familiar. The breakfast was fantastic, continental buffet with seated hot food service. The food was beautifully presented, loved the attention to detail The room was clean and comfortable All in all a great place to stop

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and as a solo traveler I enjoyed my stay. I was given a lovely room in the main building which overlooked a pretty garden area. The food in the restaurant appeared to be freshly cooked although this meant that on one occasion I did have to wait 40 mins for my meal The hotel is located in a pretty village and the location was ideal for my visits to Woburn and Bletchley Park.

Dated and tatty. Carpets unclean and stained. Skirting boards scuffed and dirty. My room was a disaster, broken toilet seat. The cushions on the bed were not clean and smelled of greasy hair. There was not cold running water only scalding hot, I raised this with reception and I was told it was fixed..... I tried to sleep..... then the radiator in the bathroom burst, scalding dirty rusty water was spraying everywhere. I had to move rooms , so I was walked across the car park in my nightwear.... to a room , with frayed soiled carpets and once again smelly cushions, and a dog flea on the pillow.... I then packed up and drove 2 hours home. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY....

Caring, friendly, customer focussed staff provided a great service. Lovely breakfast too. Rooms well appointed, speedy check out, large car park, nice and quite location. Dining experience was very good for our party of 41. Excellent menu and presentation.

Having stayed at the Moore Place Hotel (Aspley Guise) overnight I can recommend 100% Very warm welcome on arrival and very clean and well appointed room. I met with some other colleagues and we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink from a well-stocked bar. Dinner itself was exceptionally good and terrific value with 3 courses + / drinks (beer & wine) + coffees for around £40 per head total. Great night's sleep in comfortable bed and surroundings. Quiet rooms and corridors. Breakfast was very well presented from a large choice. Helpful and pleasant staff and the car park is immediately off from reception.

I visited with two friends for one night. We ate in the restaurant and had two rooms booked. The staff were all amazingly attentive and approachable. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. The meal was excellent and the value for money was great too. This was an amazing find. Well worth a stay.

Our first time to stay at the hotel and it will ALWAYS be the one we stay at when visiting Milton Keynes or as a stop over when traveling. The location is great, close to shops and pubs (3 min drive or 15 min walk). The hotel is very clean, rooms are spacious, well appointed and we stayed in room 2 with a 4poster bed and so large, it was lovely. Bar off the lobby is always open. It is peaceful and quite, great sleep and very comfortable large bed. The staff made all the difference, very helpful, attentive and knowledgeable. They are polite and always there to help and assist and take time from their busy day to have a chat and make you feel welcome. Special mention here for Angela, Becky, Paul and Luke…..they are a delight and so friendly and professional. Plenty of parking on site and well lit (safety).

We chose to spend the night in this charming hotel, just off the M1, to get a head start out of London and avoid rush-hour traffic. Staff were very welcoming, and we had a pleasant meal in their restaurant. Our room was spacious and clean. However, there were little irritants in the system which prevented a higher rating. Despite booking for 2 guests, we found only one set of towels. Our room swipe card only worked once and had to be re-programmed. The TV remote control did not work and clearly needed new batteries, except no-one had checked. Not good enough.

Booked the four poster bedroom. Great value. Super king bed. Clean and quiet. Friendly, really helpful staff. The hotel is in a lovely village location ten minutes from Milton Keynes and M1. Easy parking. Great woodland walks. Nice pub just across the road.

On arrival I was greeted by the manager (Angela) and a trainee member of staff. The manager was rude and abrupt and told me to scan a barcode to check in. There was no warm welcome or acknowledgement of my presence from either member of staff and I felt like I was a total inconvenience. The room was comfortable but in desperate need of updated. I stayed in the building across the road on the ground floor. The windows were incredibly drafty and I could hear cars driving up and down the road all evening. I am a very heavy sleeper normally, but was regularly disturbed throughout the whole night. The neighbours were very noisy and kept shouting throughout the corridors and slamming doors. My stay was during a weekday so you wouldn't expect this. The walls and doors are paper thin so be prepared to take earbuds! Checkout was easy although no one was keen to ask how my stay had been which is something that you expect when you stay the night somewhere. The room was dusty and you could see this on the floor where the bed had moved. My company paid for my stay, I am greatly that this wasn't at my expense. I have requested that I stay elsewhere upon my next visit to Milton Keynes.

Spent 5 nights a week at Moore Place through November and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Once they realised I had a preferred room they allocated that room for me each week. No issues supplying plates, ice buckets or cutlery for the room or extra towels. Cleaning offered as little or often as required during the pandemic.

The room was adequate, although it did get very warm after having a shower, as there was no ventilation in the bathroom. It also got quite warm during the night, so I had to sleep with the window open. Slept ok, although the pillows were quite hard and my room was right next to the stairwell which meant it was often quite loud. Bathroom could do with an upgrade, very old-fashioned decor. Shower head was quite lime-scaled and was too powerful for the size of the glass shower screen as the bathroom floor was soaked after use. Don't think the extractor fan in the bathroom worked, so as mentioned previously, it then made the rest of the room very warm. Restaurant food was good and service was great. Only thing that wasn't great was that the automatic doors to the separate building that I was staying in seized to work correctly, and were then left open... only reason for mention is that it meant that you could walk off the street and straight into this part of the hotel as it wasn't manned by a reception desk etc... Location is fine if you have a car, but otherwise there are no shops in close proximity to the hotel!

We couldn't fault this hotel - the staff were outstanding and couldn't be more helpful, especially as I was incapacitated and using crutches. Everywhere spotless, comfortable and spacious bedroom. Breakfasts fresh and delicious as were the meals we had as part of a wedding group. Special mention to Dee and Luke who were so professional and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable

Very good value and friendly staff. Excellent breakfasts, but dining room cold. Needs some TLC in bedrooms and dining room. Would stay again as cost is reasonable, beautifully cooked breakfasts and very convenient to family.

Extremely poorly maintained hotel, staffed by abrupt people with no desire to provide a good experience. Arrival was rushed and abrasive, food in the evening was luke warm at best and breakfast was very much self service. No refill on coffee, a request for plates for cooked breakfast appeared to be a lot of bother. Not about the money, nor the ongoing decorating. It should close and sort itself out.

I received an e-mail a couple of days before our stay asking me to check in on-line. One of the items of information requested was time of arrival. As we were attending a wedding at 15:00hrs I stated we would be arriving at 13:00. To be fair we arrived slightly earlier than this due to excellent traffic conditions. However, upon arrival I was told our room would not be ready until 15:00hrs. Apparently stating your arrival time on the "online check in" doesn't count and you're supposed to call and book an "early check in" so your room might be prepared. Further, I was told that rooms took 30 minutes to prepare and that only one girl was booked on for housemaid duties. To be fair they did permit us to use another single room to change (I had booked a suite). One of the staff suggested she would sort it out for me and promptly disappeared. When I made the booking I wasn't advised that the suite was on the 2nd floor and that they had no lifts. As a person with COPD this presented somewhat of a challenge. Perhaps I should have checked in advance but I confess that I assumed most hotels have lifts and if you book a suite that happens to be on the 2nd floor and there are no lifts they might like to double check you are aware of this. Apart from these points I was happy with the stay. The food at the wedding breakfast might have been a tad warmer but the quality was very good. The breakfast was also very good and much warmer.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a two night room only stay at Moore Place Hotel on Friday and Saturday night. We had a lovely spacious room in a traditional wing of the main hotel (not the annexe) and whilst the room decor and the en-suite were slightly dated it was spotlessly clean and functional. The shower was over the bath rather than a shower enclosure but it worked well and was powerful. Despite being advised that they do hod events at the hotel, and there could be music until midnight, we didn't hear any and we enjoyed a very quiet and tranquil two nights. All in considering the excellent room rate that we got for two nights stay we were very pleased with the hotel and would not hesitate to stay in the same room again on visits to the area.

This hotel is at the heart of the village. It is well located for access to the Woburn woods and golf courses with lovely walks or cycles on your doorstep. It is close to Milton Keynes but in a more pleasant countrified setting. There is ample parking for guests and a decent restaurant though breakfast at £12.50 per head is not cheap. Whilst we are on the subject though, the breakfast is a very complete selection of cold continental and cooked full English. Our room, number 31 ,was quiet and well equipped and my wife and I had a very good night's sleep. The decor and carpet was a little tired and bare. There was a half finished tube of hair conditioner ( not hotel issue) left on the side of the bath.My son's room, number 31, was in better nick but he sadly suffered from a dodgy or flat smoke alarm which beeped and kept him awake until well into the early hours of the morning, which was sloppy and careless of the staff. Otherwise the staff were all very friendly.

This was our second stay here. We were only here for one night but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had an upgrade to a four poster bedroom which was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is starting to show some signs of wear and tear but with a little time and effort it could be back to its former glory. Without a doubt we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended. Thank you to all.

Charming location outside the city with good amenities locally, but the Hotel has all you need, staff are pleasant and ambiance is nice. Clean rooms and good parking facilities. also booked at very short notice and they were accomodating.

Had a great stay. The room was nice and big, breakfast was a great selection of hot and cold buffet and the location was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we arrived very early and went to ask if we could leave the car while we went for a walk to wait for our check in time and the receptionist said we could check in already as our room was ready. Couldn't fault the customer service.

This was a great hotel, the room was cosy, very clean, with everything you could need, tv, tea making facilities etc.. The staff were pleasant, helpful and very welcoming. Nicely placed for exploring the surrounding area. We had a nice stay.

The room was lovely, all staff were friendly during our visit. Black mold reported on the bathroom ceiling but apart from that, great stay. On leaving, I phoned to speak to someone about my bill as on my statement it said I had been charged twice and I wanted clarity. I spoke to Monica who was damn right rude about the issue and I will be speaking to a manager as this left a really sour taste after what was a fantastic trip. Really sad that one rude member of staff can leave what was a lovely experience and turn it into a negative.

Perfect size family room with big bathroom + 2 sinks which was the best thing ever! Big breakfast for us adults, not too many healthy options for the kids. Easy to check in and check out, friendly staff and perfect location to our destination Woburn Safari Park.

I booked 5 rooms on behalf of my company who were attending a charity event at the local golf course. Originally asked for the main building however, I was offered rooms in the side building. The hotel sold this to me as being the better option (as if an upgrade had been offered at no extra cost). BIG MISTAKE. The rooms are in DESPERATE need of a REFURB. All 5 rooms were very dated, the carpet looked and felt like it was from the 70's. The Coffee cups etc were dusty and the rooms had a distinctive smell of being old. A complete contrast to the main building. When trying to review the rooms, the hotel advised i could view these on the website, what i was failed to be informed of was the rooms were in the main building, there are no rooms in the side building on the website..... now I know why!! £129.00 was paid for each room, of which a Premier Inn would have been more updated, clean and fresh. Don't be fooled of using this hotel because of the proximity to the golf course, (as I have been) take the time out to research and travel a little bit further for a better hotel. Will not recommend this hotel for future business trips.

First room they tried to lump on me had a Hugh extremely noisy ventilation fan right outside the window, 2 nd Room was not clean , spiders webs, bathroom door would not close . Reported to front desk nothing done. This room was not cheap . Would be lucky to receive a one star

Booked here for a visit to Bletchley Park, which is an easy drive. I used my Rewards points, but there was an unexpected £5 additional charge on my bill which the receptionist noticed. After consultation with the supervisor at checkout this was determined to be an error and ignored. I slept about as well as usual in a new bed i.e. not well, although the bed itself was comfortable, and this not helped by a sheet too small for the bed. I guess like many others they are suffering from linen supply shortages. Breakfast was excellent. Full English (plated, cooked to order) was plentiful, tasty and good quality, but it would have been nicer to have an individually, freshly brewed pot of tea instead of being served at table from an over-brewed pot. Staff were all very pleasant.

We got married here in August and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Throughout the whole planning, Louise was so helpful and really easy to communicate with. When Covid hit and we had to push the wedding back a year they couldn't have made it easier for us, just a straight forward date swap. On the day everything ran so smoothly, Louise and Dee really looked after us all, I had the best poached eggs for breakfast that I've had and endless cups of tea while we got ready. The ceremony room was beautiful and dinner was delicious as was the buffet food. The evening reception also went really well with some of our guests staying up at the bar until 4am. The setting was perfect, it's such a beautiful hotel. We wanted a chilled out, fun wedding and with the help of all the staff here that's exactly what we had.

Room was clean , but areas of wallpaper were tired & damaged. Great breakfast, speedy check in. Reasonable value, good lication for golf at Woburn. Just needs decor updating & tidying up, as restaurant chairs & decor look like from 80s.

Enjoyed another short stay here whilst visiting relatives in Bedford. The hotel is comfortable and has all that is needed for our needs. The breakfast is usually buffet during busy periods, but at present it is pre-ordered the previous evening. Our breakfast this time , as always , was generous and very well presented, only slightly let down by the watery orange juice. We have not had dinner in the hotel restaurant as we love the Thai restaurant in the village, just around the corner.

Could not fault my stay at the Best Western Moore Place Hotel. Location was perfect. Village location stunning. Staff were friendly, accommodating, attentive and very helpful. Room was very comfortable and quiet.. I spoke with the receptionist on my departure day to say that I had already recommended the hotel to colleagues.

We stayed here as part of a large group playing golf at Woburn which is 5 to 10 mins away by car. The lady at check in was very helpful and friendly. This sane tone of helpfulness was very apparent with everyone we met. The rooms seem to have had a bit of improvement recently and breakfast was pretty good. It's not a luxury hotel but it's clean, reasonably priced, well located in a pretty village and has friendly staff.

This was our first trip since Covid- I paid a lot of money for an annex room- I may be a bit naive, but to me, an annex is a separate ground floor large room. Our room was in an annex block on the first floor. It was pokey, sadly in need of an update and had no aircon or fridge. There was no maid service to clean the room either, so we returned to an unmade bed and the bins unemptied, no fresh towels and no more toiletries. We complained and a receptionist came with clean towels and emptied the bin. She offered a complimentary breakfast which we accepted. The breakfast had been an issue on the first day however- using Covid as the reason, everything was reduced to the basics- you didn't even get a pot of tea, they just brought it out in mugs! The cooked meal was barely average and the bacon was as tough as old boots. The next day we avoided the full English and it was better, but certainly not worth £12.50 each. I paid in excess of £350 for 2 nights- when I checked on booking.com the same room was on offer the next week for £58 a night! When we questioned this we were told it was due to the Grand Prix however. This may be the case but I feel totally ripped off and will avoid this chain of hotels in future.

This place seems to aim to provide something that feels a little bit expensive at a budget price, which they do very well (it gets 4 stars for what they provide at the cost they provide it, not because it's a luxurious hotel). The stand out was that the staff were all very warm and attentive. The rooms were clean enough, the bed comfortable, hot water all the time, the things you'd expect from a hotel but don't always get. The rooms were fairly nice and the house and grounds itself a nice backdrop. The reception was 24 hours which is nice. The restaurant food was all tasty, hot, and prepared quickly, with the staff friendly and attentive as everywhere else. Only drawback was vegetarian options were thin on the ground, and I thought it was highly priced for the food being served. It's got to be pretty delicious these days if you're eeking into the £15-£20 a dish range with so many great gastro pubs around serving at very competitive prices. My only gripe is that my room wasn't made up in the day despite me leaving the 'please make my room up' hanger on the door and my bathtub had no plug, even when I asked for one. Overall I'd certainly visit again if looking for a hotel in this price range. It's beats a premier in or any of the other low-end options.

I have stayed here a few times, first visit was OK, staff are great and it's a nice location. However, on later visits the rooms are not clean. There are hairs everywhere, tiles are stained, and there is rubbish in the rooms left by previous occupants. This visit I found clothing tags under the desk and there's a lot if dust and dirt under there, it obviously hasn't been cleaned properly for a long time

We stayed here for one night in a Suite. The hotel needs a desperate update and revamp, but that aside, our room was clean. I am just glad that the hotel is back up and running and hopefully in time recoup some money and give the hotel a good spruce up. The staff were friendly and professional, and the food was delicious, the breakfast was the best we have eaten in a long time, so hats off to the chef. The hotel is situated in a nice place. All in all, we had a lovely time and considering the price we paid we cannot grumble. Our stay was special.

Fantastic and charming hotel, my room was spotlessly clean which made me feel so comfortable in these times. Staff were all great and we enjoyed an amazing meal at the pub across the road, would highly recommend.

Room was small . Mould on windows . Dirt / finger marks on doors . Stained bedsheets . Filthy remote control . Broken TV which covered in dust and cobwebs . Dusty room . General cleanliness was awful .

Absolutely disgusting. The room had cobwebs with dead flies hanging over the bed and in the fireplace, the bedding was marked, the walls are so thin I could hear the couple next door, the flooring was not fitted properly and creaked with every step, the wardrobe looked as though it was on its last legs and the phone was filthy! The staff member on reception was awful, was more concerned about telling me she was overwhelmed working on her own than dealing with the problem at hand. I could not stay here after she spoke under her breath about me. For an extra £10 stayed in the Hilton Double tree at the stadium (highly recommended). Never will I look at let alone stay in a Best Western ever again!!!!!

On the whole the hotel seemed very nice , the staff are friendly and helpful but the room was very small and not the cleanest . One Bath and hand towel between the two of us , TV didn't work , and the room was tired and needed a deep clean . Food was good and plenty of it but wouldn't stay here again but ok for a nights stay I suppose .

I recently had my wedding here and it was a perfect day. The food was amazing (we had comments from almost everyone). The staff bent over backwards to make sure the day ran smoothly. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the outside area is beautiful. I would definitely stay here again and also recommend for weddings. Louise and Dee did a fantastic job helping me plan the day

Our wedding was a little smaller thanks to covid but Moore Place Hotel really made our day extra special & the beautiful surroundings also give lots of opportunities for photos!

We were married on 5th June 2021 and our wedding reception was held at Moore Place Hotel, Aspley Guise. Our wedding day was perfect from start to finish.The staff at Moore Place really pulled out all the stops to make our day really special. Louise the Wedding Planner was in constant touch with us throughout our Wedding preparations. Nothing was too much trouble. We met the Head Chef Ermal as soon as the Restaurant was reopened in May for our wedding food tasting. Ermal's presentation of the food was excellent, and the food taste event itself did not disappoint us. Ermal came out of the kitchen after our food tasting to ask us for feedback, and all we could say, it was delicious. On the actual wedding day again the food was perfect and the service was second to none. Our guests commented upon how nice the food was. Dee the Restaurant Manager is an attention to detail person making sure the service all went smoothly. and acting as our toast lady making announcements. Dee suggested as it was a lovely afternoon, to take our Bride & Groom dance outside. This was a brilliant idea and afterwards we all sat in the courtyard chatting with a music background. This was a covid wedding but you would not have thought it. Everything was perfect. We stayed in the Francis Moore Honeymoon Suite, and we had a wonderful breakfast the next morning. We will definitely be returning for a meal in the future and highly recommend this venue and the staff. Thank you to all the staff.

A great overnight experience to meet with family after lockdowns. The hotel is very clean and well run. The staff are friendly and efficient. Our room was lovely with a comfy four poster bed and pleasant bathroom. There was a wedding which took over the restaurant but we could dine in a conference room which we chose not to do but went to the lovely Anchor pub instead. Breakfast, however was a delight and of very good quality. We were only 7 miles from home but it was so secluded there, we felt miles away. We loved our stay and will return to visits the Blue Oyster Thai next time. Finally, please note that we booked at a very good rate for b& b by paying in advance for a great saving.

We upgraded our room before we left and was given room 8. On entering the room there was a funny smell. We found the smell, it was in the bathroom and it was disgusting like raw sewerage. Obviously we contacted reception and Angela was very nice she came up with some drain stuff and air freshener which worked for about 10 minutes then it was back again. I asked to be moved but no more rooms were available until the next day. Once we put all the plugs in and covered the holes up with towels it was marginally better. The room was nice and big but they had, had a leak over the window which didn't look nice and the hook on the back of the door was falling off. It's such a shame that little care is taken of the property. We were booked to have dinner, but whether it was due to Covid, the room was just plain tables in a very dull room, not even pictures on the wall, no atmosphere at all so we went to the little pub over the road The Anchor which was amazing. The next day Angela had sorted out a new room for us which was a four poster bed, this was much better at least if didn't smell. The only issue in this room was it was extremely dusty especially the fan behind the mirror and clock radio. There didn't seem to be enough staff at breakfast time, but the ladies that where there were nice and did their best. Breakfast was lovely. The staff were lovely and friendly hence the 2 stars rather then the 1 star. Didn't feel it was clean enough especially during these Covid times when rooms and areas should be spotless. Would I stay again? Definitely NO.

Firstly, the staff are friendly especially Angela on Reception. The room we had (no51) had no heating, there was a electric heater in the room, the bathroom needed to be updated as the fan didn't work and the bath panel did not fit the bath which left an unseemly hole. The kitchen was closed Sunday eve and Monday Breakfast. Breakfast on tuesday was breakfast in a bag which was edible. We think in its hey day the Moore Place Hotel was the place to stay but now it seems the contractors have found it as Monday eve the hotel was full with contractors ready to work in the area. maybe the rooms in the main part of the hotel are larger but the ones in the annexe are set up for single occupancy rather than 2 travelling and are on the small side. All Covid rules were met and applied. We were there under Covid Restrictions which didn't help.

Due to the fact we have the covid life at the moment guidance is to be obeyed which i get, but this place changes rules every day under the manager of Daniel, The staff (BCM dee) are brilliant to do there job under the misguided regime of the real world but can only abide by a confused leader. As the resteraunt opens when they feel like it and by there own law cannot have beans on your breakfast i find find this place imploding on miss management and lies to customers. Room are filthy but at least plesently warm. i Know he is doing his job the best he can but Can Someone STOP this covid rubbish guidlines and show clarity.

Stayed here with work for 5 nights. Lovely large rooms, I suppose one small thing is that the bathroom could do with a little makeover but it was absolutely fine,food delicious and the staff were a delight. Due to Covid restrictions, they had a really good system and each night you handed in your breakfast choice...everything ran smoothly - would stay here again

Arrived in the dark but the village and hotel looked lovely, plenty of parking and pleasant receptionist Checked in went to room, decided to have a number 1 and spotted the filthy toilet My thoughts are if they can't be bothered to clean a toilet what else can't they be bothered to clean In my opinion the dirt on the toilet was not one days worth so it has not seen a good clean for a while, with Covid cleaning should be even more thorough and double checked I decided to check out and go to a very clean Holiday Inn express, much more Covid safe

Husband had to work in a nearby surgery Sat morning so we drove up night before and stayed here purely because of proximity. I was delighted with the price but at those prices I was not expecting what we got! Really warm, friendly staff, beautiful room with sparkling clean bathroom. Good social distancing measures at breakfast. Daniel in particular went above and beyond when my husband's case was delayed by a few hours in terms of late checkout. Fantastic can do spirit!

We had a two night break in this lovely hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our Sleigh bed room at the top of the hotel was spacious and clean. All Covid precautions are in place . We ate dinner both evenings in the restaurant. Would happily revisit. The location a very pretty part of the country

Great hotel, very pleasant staff that were polite and very accommodating. They upgraded us to a family room, just as a good will gesture as the room I wanted wasn't available. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in a family room, which was clean, a good size, kingsize bed and double sofa bed, which was very comfortable. Large bathroom with double sink and large bath. There was no soap, but this was rectified quickly. The covid measures in the hotel itself was very good. Hand sanitizer available at the reception, plenty of space in the bar area and signage on the floor and doors. We did not eat at the hotel, so I can't comment on the food.

Stayed here not long after lockdown finished. I was a bit concerned about being away from home, but I needn't have worried. Staff were very helpful & considerate in difficult times. Small problem resolved efficiently. Very pleased with room not being serviced as I was more comfortable knowing no-one had been in. Normally, it would have been great to have the service, but at that time it was better not to.

11 of us stayed for our annual golf trip. The hotel was in a great location for Woburn Golf Club and very reasonably priced. The staff were very hospitable and looked after us well. Especially given all the current restrictions. The 24 hour bar was a bonus and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Special mention to Daniel and Carolina for their excellent hosting. See you again next year.

Stayed here with 3 friends on a golfing trip - I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the hotel is - welcome was warm even despite the fact that about 12 people all arrived at once causing a small queue . My room was great - large and clean as was the bathroom . Breakfast was good considering the arrangements for COVID 19 and the girl serving was excellent Overall , I thought the hotel was excellent value for the price , it was clean and the staff were doing a pretty good job with the special Covid arrangements in place - id happily recommend MoorPlace

The surroundings and building itself is just stunning but this hotel has just been left to trade on its amazing Georgian house. Unfortunately the decor, cleanliness and service was generally poor. I wish I had read the reviews before spending so much money here. The bin wasn't even emptied over our two day stay and no replacement of clean mugs or tea/coffee in the room. The general manager gentleman was very nice and a member of the house keeping staff was very helpful but other than that the staff were rude and unhelpful. Do not recommend! An embarrassment to the Best Western chain.

Myself and my husband stayed here overnight due to its location to nearby attractions. The hotel itself is a lovely attractive Georgian building and in a lovely location. Which is what was such a shame about the state of cleanliness of the rooms. I was truly shocked upon first entering he rooms I noted the bed looked like it had been thrown together, the next thing was on entering the bathroom. The sink was dusty and there were hairs present then to make it worse the toilet was in a worse state than the sink dust and hair to the extent it honestly made me question if the room had been cleaned at all. If not for the fact the bins were emptied I would have doubted anyone entered the room to bother at all. Really they need not have because whatever'effort'was made was slim to none. I ended up cleaning the place myself, which having arrived late evening was far from ideal, as we just wanted to go to sleep. This on top of the fact that cleanliness should be high on everyone's agenda right now was what in particular made it really quite shocking. Wouldn't stay here ever again and glad we only spent one night. Such a shame considering such a gorgeous building in a lovely location, big changes needed here.

We stayed here as part of a golf trip because our usual hotel had not re-opened post Covid. The room was fine without being spectacular. The hotel is located in a pretty village and us a large older building. The reception staff and bar teams were very friendly and full Covid rules were very much in evidence without being over-bearing. I'd happily stay there again

The room was really nice with a very comfortable bed. The staff bar staff very friendly and the English young lady who checked us in was very polite and professional.. Unfortunately we got charged twice when checking out which I'm still trying to sort out. Be warned that during Covid 19 you do not get a full English breakfast so best to take your own packed breakfast as the one supplied is pretty dismal and comes in a brown paper doggy bag. It's such a shame as I don't think we will stay there again.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel, myself and my partner was extremely unwell (due to the food we ate in the hotel). I had to clean the rooms myself due to finding pubic hair on the floor, in the sink and on the toilet seat! I was shocked About the Cleanliness of the hotel, especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic! The first room we were put in was disgraceful. We had to be moved. It completely ruined out time away.

Greeted with a smile from Rebecca on reception who was very helpful, advised where restaurant was and bar (I needed a drink) The room was very clean and pleasant with a nice shower, food in the bar area was good and served with a smile. From start to finish the staff cannot do more to help.

I cannot praise this hotel and it's staff highly enough. Our stay was excellent from start to finish. Our party consistedd of two couples and we stayed for two nights bed and breakfast with evening meal on the first night. Our bedrooms were marvellous. The mattresses and pillows were some of the comfiest we had ever slept upon. Our evening meal was superb with such attention to detail and breakfast was also tasty and plentiful. We shall be back very soon with friends and family in tow - the hotel is so convenient and there is enormous amount to see and do in the vicinity. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so delightful

We stayed at the best western moore place hotel after visiting Woburn safari park for the day. The hotel is in a lovely village location which is a 5 minute drive from the safari park. Prices are very reasonable with us having 2 twin rooms for under £100. We ate dinner in the bar lounge which had a good selection for my fussy eaters. The rooms were well equipped with comfy beds and tea/coffee facilities and even a little decanter of complementary brandy for a night cap.

Modern, clean hotel near enough to the M1 to be convenient for onward travel. I had room in the annex which was a bit small but clean and it had everything I need. Bath and shower were excellent. I had a good meal in the restaurant, steak was nice but the peppercorn sauce very runny. The trio of breads was a bit bland but overall it was worth the money. I would stay here again.

Staff not clear on what was included and not included in room rate that paid which then occurred extra charges. this then had to be claimed back through the business and had we had known this we would of had more in our food bill as we was told it covered drinks but did not.

This is the smallest most cramped double room I have ever stayed in during 35 of business travel. The bathroom of room no 63 is only 0.9metre wide.The double bed only 1.00 metre wide! The road noise and the hotel allow delivery drivers to unload at 5.30am is intolerable. I would not have stayed but was too late, after having dinner in Milton Keynes, to move on to another hotel. To any Traveller intending to stay in this area my recommendation is not to stay in this hotel. Best Western should re - evaluate their description and particularly the photos of the rooms they use because, in my opinion, they are misrepresenting the extremely poor quality of the standard so called double rooms they offer. Only paid £55 for b&b, lovely village setting, quiet and rural. Decent rooms, comfortable and clean. Free parking, WiFi. Good breakfast and very professional and friendly staff. A really good find for the money that I would highly recommend. Stayed pre Centre Paris which is approx. 15/20 mins away in traffic.

I needed to find somewhere for work, couple of days per week. Tried a few other hotels. Never quite felt welcome. Stumbled upon this gem of a hotel in a quaint village setting, beautiful wherever you look. From the moment I set foot in the place I felt at ease. Pam on reception (legend) made me feel so welcome and I knew I was in the right place. Check-in was a breeze, and the rooms I've stayed in have all been very comfortable. [The owner adds a very nice touch, with a small decanter of Brandy in each room too which is very welcome and shows how much they value your custom]. Plenty of parking spaces too which is great. Have to mention how good the food is here too. The Chef is clearly proud and produces food of a very high quality at reasonable prices. I've stayed in much pricier hotels locally and always return here. Come for the quality, stay for the welcome you'll receive. Very highly recommended. David L

Our overnight stay was perfect. The room (in the quiet annex) was very comfortable with the luxury of bathroom under-floor heating and a small flask of brandy on the bedside table! Breakfast was also very good (served until 9.30 prompt). We would be happy to stay there again. Highly recommended.

Arrived early after a long drive and were expecting to have to wait to book in but our room was ready and so off to a good start, but that was the only good thing about the hotel. Wife is a coeliac so asked about gluten free option on the menu, told they have salad, our room was on the second floor and being an old building, no lift, the room was spacious but felt a bit cold on entering, decided to have a shower after our drive but no hot water, down to reception to be told there is a problem with the boiler someone is on their way to look at it. On returning to the hotel that evening we went to ask the receptionist for an update, only to be told to wait as she didn't want to lose her place on the computer and then she started to have a social conversation with a colleague who approached reception before returning to her computer work and after she finished her computer work simply said “work is ahead of time and will be finished by 8”.p, oh no it wasn't. The following morning we did have hot water but the only heating was a free standing electric heater, so after returning from a day out we had to sit in our heavy coats for half an hour till the room warmed up as the heater went off when we removed the room card. Looking at other reviews there does seem to be a recurring problem with the heating.

This is a great hotel friendly staff great rooms very clean, fantastic food and a great location, plenty of parking, reception staff are fun and informative the staff in the restaurant are polite and accommodating

Stayed here for two nights, lovely staff, nice clean and well-presented rooms, great food. The staff were helpful and polite, we had a lovely little balcony on our room, so we're able to sit out there with our morning coffee, room was lovely and warm.

Stayed in a suite, rooms were spacious and decorated in a contemporary style. Everything spotless. Bed very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, we came down about 30 minutes before end of service and self service had not been refreshed, orange juice watered down, a big no no.

Arrived on a Friday evening & the room was out dated, cramped & clean, we had a bad night with a very noisy pipe work. Although we didn't have the radiator on, the room was very warm. We had it reported to the receptionist the next morning and requested a fan, when we returned back late evening, the fan had been delivered to our room & we had a good night sleep. Thank you

First time to this hotel. My expectations were sadly let down. Check-in was a little muddled about my booking for D,B& B. Reception staff were pleasant but did not acknowledge me as an Elite member. My room was in block away from the main building (Rm 57) adjacent to the road. This room was noisy - outside traffic, dripping toilet cistern, and I assume staff, using the Fire Exit door which kept me awake most of the night. Bed was okay but, whereas I like a medium support pillows, these were hard. The shower head could have done with a good clean. Ate in the restaurant and used the bar. Staff in both were good. Food was "okay". Breakfast was also "okay". Being a solo traveler I had to sit on a table made up for four. I found two of the four tea cups on the table to have dried stains inside - clearly not washed properly. Advised the staff who were apologetic. Check-out was efficient but it would have been nice to have been asked if my stay was okay as I would have explained my experience. Would I stay at this hotel again - I don't think so.

Spent two days at this pleasant hotel but sadly it missed out by poor maintenance, room was large & comfortable with nice bathroom but the room had only one bed side light, one power point by mirror was unusable and the fan in bathroom did not work - we pointed this out on arrival but this was still not working when we left (they tried to tell us it was on a timer and it worked after 6.00pm which was rubbish). We had Continental Breakfast but the bread for toast ran out, no milk on the table for coffee and no butter either - we kept having to ask for these and were advised 'on your table' but they weren't - just poor supervision. Used the local pub for full English breakfast instead.

Thank you to all of the hotel staff who were attentive, friendly and most helpful. We were a group of 4 staying in the cottages which met our requirements. A nice touch of a small decanter of brandy in the room on arrival. Were did not eat dinner as we were eating out at a local restaurant. We returned and the bar continued to serve until we retired to bed at 1 am. Thank you again for an excellent overnight stay.

We booked last minute (1pm the same day) and managed to get the last double room in the cottages, which are located at the top end of the car park, away from the main hotel. When we arrived at 5pm, we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The lobby was lovely and comfortable and we enjoyed tea and coffee there in the evening (the coffee was amazing!) I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious our room was. It was huge! The bed was certainly bigger than a double and very comfortable. The room had a desk which was perfect for putting my make-up on in the morning, plenty of storage space, a nice big bath, although we didn't use it. The shower was brilliant. Just the right temperature and very powerful. The water in the bathroom was very hot, but adjustable with the tap which was a welcome change to some of the hotels I've stayed in when the water only gets to tepid at best. We did request an iron and ironing board in our room which wasn't there when we arrived but we called the front desk and they bought one up. Nothing was too much trouble. If I had to fault anything it would be the radio alarm clock which was pretty old and set an hour behind, but honestly not the end of the world and we used our phones as an alarm anyway. We had a lovely evening and would definitely book here again.

Stayed for one night and had the last room available as we only decided to stay at the last minute. Room was fine and clean. All staff very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was only average as they did not top up the ingredients often enough. Would stay again

This is a lovely hotel to stay in - excellent service from all staff - they are a credit to the establishment. We were made to feel most welcome upon our arrival. We stayed in one of the lodges which was a lovely big room with a huge bed, an ensuite that had both a shower and a bath and was in a nice quiet area. There was even a nightcap left in the room for us (a small decanter of brandy and a couple of glasses - what a lovely kind gesture). The room was clean as was the main areas of the hotel. Food was excellent and plentiful. Would not hesitate recommend this place - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

In a nutshell, it was great for the village, good as a base , clean and great value on a Saturday night. Staff were excellent , and breakfast was what you'd expect. We didn't eat dinner there, choosing to eat at the Blue Orchid ( make sure you book)

Room 20 was a semi disabled room and as a result slightly larger. However it was the first room off reception on the ground floor so noisy into the early hours then from 5am. Plumbing was poor with issues with the shower drainage bubbling up in the sink and toilet cistern flush not working correctly so I had to lift the lid and push the flush from inside. One of the wall lights was out. Hotel and facilities/staff great room very poor!

Stayed here to meet up with some 'crusing chums' who live on the outskirts of Northampton - very convenient from the M1 - extremely welcoming staff, especially the lady taking orders at breakfast, whose smile said a thousand words. Only negative as far as we're concerned is room 15 (and next to) located directly above the kitchen extractor fan - not good. Carpet may wear out in between tnhe bar and the retaurant. Good eating and watering place.

Selected this hotel as fairly close to circuit (30 minutes drive) for British MotoGP at Silverstone. Friendly reception staff checked us in and guided myself and 12 year old son to our room. Whilst quite small, the room was clean and fresh. We sat outside in the small courtyard for a drink which is really peaceful. Checked out early the following morning (06:00) without issue. Overall would recommend and will likely book again.

Location is good for visiting attractions in the area. Room was good BUT the food together with bar and restaurant service standards were average at best. May stay again for room and location but will look to eat at either the Thai or the pub in the village rather than in the hotel. Best Western do you check food quality?

Lovely traditional hotel, good service, clean well appointed rooms and lovely breakfast. We were in the area to play golf at Woburn Golf Club, this hotel is perfectly placed for this , just a few minutes drive away.

This hotel gave us everything we needed for a stopover. The food was good and piping hot. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We had good food both for dinner and breakfast. We had a deal which gave us DBB plus bottle of prosecco for £107.00. Great value.

On arrival I found that I had been booked into the Annex which was not what I had originally booked on the Website. This only shows a standard room which I thought is what I had therefore booked. The room I was allocated was not what I had seen and I would not have booked this. There was nothing wrong with the Annex rooms, other than being on the road side and not inside the main hotel which I had thought I'd had booked. The hotel was fully booked at the time so no other available rooms for me to move to . However the staff were very kind and by the morning a was given another better room in the Main Hotel. As I have health issues and being away from other people I knew staying in the hotel. If you look on Booking.com or other sites other than the Best Western it clearly shows the various choices of rooms which you can book. On the Best Western own booking web site it only shows A Standard Room. The prices vary and as I said there wasn't a lot wrong with the room in the annex, but the bathroom is dated, but very clean and the bedroom had new furnishing on the bed etc but curtains and carpet are older. I suggest you either phone them direct or book through another booking site. Area is very nice indeed and I had a very nice stay overall . The annex room I was in was down floor and I must admit the road outside was busy. I always take earplugs when I stay in a hotel so I wasn't kept awake.

Lovely place and friendly staff. There was a function going on when we arrived, but seen straight away at reception which offers around the clock check in. Good location for functions happening at Woburn safari park

My partner and I stayed here for two nights during we visited Bletchley Park and Blenheim Palace. Very clean room in a quiet part of the hotel. Although room cleaned no clean glasses were provided.Bathroom could also use a toilet brush otherwise satisfactory standard. Breakfast was overall adequate although buffet very limited on both days we stayed here with almost no vegetarian options. Fresh fruit choices available were again limited with what fruit there was available appeared to have seen better days. In my view for a hotel charging £100 per night this is not good enough. The Thai/Indian restaurant nearby is excellent and we ate here two nights running (reviewed separately). On departure the receptionist did not ask if we had enjoyed our stay - all a little impersonal. The location of the hotel is, however, good for a range of specific attractions in the area.

I had 4 nights here hotel was central for the golf at Woburn had a big double room With a bath and shower. The was very clean, I would of like an earlier option for breakfast at the weekend Would stay here again Lots of car parking.

I stayed there for 5 nights, 3 prior to my son's wedding. The staff were very helpful, the room was large and clean and it had both a bath and a shower. The food was mixed, one night was excellent and one quite tasteless. Breakfast was excellent. Arri on reception was particularly knowledgable and helpful.

We were just passing through so this hotel was adequate for a one night stop However there are a few things that would enhance the stay There is no lift and a hand to carry our luggage up two flights of stairs would have been helpful Breakfast is served using heated containers and starts at 0630 so unless you are there early it is cold On the positive side it was clean and the the evening meal was good

This is a good, middle of the road Hotel; a little short on "frills" but perfectly acceptable for a one or two night stay. Ample car parking space with rooms spread over 3 separate buildings. The setting is alongside a busy road so some rooms are subject to traffic noise. Our room was in The Cottages and was clean and functional, with a smart, modern bathroom with both bath and separate walk in shower. A shaving mirror would be a welcome addition as the only mirror is on the wall furthest from the sink. Noise from other residents moving around in their room on the floor above was discernable, but not really a problem. Reception was friendly and efficient and all staff we encountered seemed keen to please; service was quick. There is not a great deal of public room space ( a small bar and sofas adjacent to the reception; but pleasant enough). There is no garden space, only the entrance patio area. The restaurant is too small to cope with all guests if the hotel is full and although light and airy is somewhat soulless and could do with, perhaps, some greenery or screens to break up the space. Dinner was excellent; a shortish menu, but varied and balanced. The food was tasty, appealing and good value and we enjoyed all the dishes we had.. We had to skip breakfast due to time pressure. The hotel met our expectations fully and we would recommend it for a short stay. Very good -in its class.

Apart from the reception staff who were great that's where my good news ends. Firstly the price, £171 for a poor and very noisy room. I'm Writing this at 5.30 as the road noise woke me up! The room whilst large is furnished like a utility clearance centre, it's not at all in the 21st century. I know they'll say that the Ladies Open Golf was on at Woburn so rooms in high demand but the price is way out of line with what you get. I waited 10 mins for a drink in the bar. There is a very good Thai restaurant next door but even that doesn't make up for the lousy nights sleep and the feeling of being ripped off.

We stayed here as our friends we're getting married near by. I had managed to mess up our booking but the reception staff Laura and Rebecca was so helpful and really friendly, they also made every guest feel like they were a VIP, lovely clean room and good food, Apun and his waiting team in the restaurant were also efficient and welcoming. We would definitely go back. The staff are amazing and there was complimentary brandy in the rooms if you fancy a tipple.

Staff generally helpful and friendly. Good sized room which was adequate and clean. Food enjoyable, breakfast was cooked to order on first morning with a good variety, second morning buffet style which wasn't as good. Accessible for Bletchley Park and Silverstone.

We stumbled across this hotel purely by chance when searching booking.com. We wanted to get away from our current stresses and had a look what was nearby but had never been too. It was well priced and we selected the option of the cottage double room out of pure intrigue. We checked in later that afternoon and the cottages are not in the main building but just a separate building off the car park. The rooms were massive in comparison to similar priced hotels and not only did it have a shower, there was a nice surprise of a big bath as well which you don't get at this price range. One very nice touch was a small decanter and glasses by the fireplace and was a complimentary 'tipple' from the hotel. We had a super-chilled evening, great nights sleep and a lovely walk around this beautiful village in the morning. I'm sure some fussy people could comment that the rooms were old and a bit tired but we thought they were charming and for the price, extremely good value. We've stayed a number of times now and would always opt for the cottages.

Fabulous buildng in a lovely village. On the whole the stay was good however the lack of air conditioning was a problem. A standalone fan was supplied not inadequate. No lift was an issue and breakfast was expensive. But all thst said the area is lovely and the building is steeped. In history.

We recently stayed here in one of the cottages and we were not disappointed. The bed was huge and very comfortable, the room was clean and there was complimentary brandy waiting. The staff cannot do enough for the guests and are extremely helpful. There was an initial concern over our booking (not the hotels fault but the website we used to book it) the receptionists sorted this out within a matter of minutes and ensured all was well. The breakfast buffet had a great selection of food available.

Whilst a Best Western this is not a normal chain, it's rooms are a bit individual, mine had a four poster bed which was a surprise but comfortable. Air con is via an open window, room clean as was bathroom. Lack of power points in room but enough. Receptionist very welcoming and fast to check in. Bar manager really pleasant as was bar snack.

Arrived at this cute looking hotel. Checked in ok. Receptionist not overly professional or welcoming. Struggled to even remember where room was located!! Room was fine. Although no air con or fan. Wardrobe needed cleaning. No bar food being served that night so ate in hotel restaurant. Bad idea. Service was poor. The waitress very young and although friendly was very inexperienced. Eventually offered bread roll and when requested more was told chef would not be happy. Restaurant not overly busy. Both of us ordered the lamb which was supposed to come with penache buttered vegetables. Dinner was served with a very bland over cooked lamb with 4 tiny new potatoes and boiled veg which was tasteless. Yuck. Dessert however improved not sure chef made it tho. Pleasant nights kip despite warm room and headed down for breakfast. As We walked past lady at reception no acknowledgement or a good morning. She was not busy at this time. Waitress at breakfast much more pleasant and friendly. However breakfast chef still could not cook and it was one of my top 3 worst breakfasts ever. Sloppy poached egg. Mushrooms covered in pepper. Dry bacon. Fried bread fried in old oil and totally disgusting. Checkout was fine. Would recommend new chef and staff to have full training in customer service.

We had a good stay here, despite a wedding party the first night (be warned; disco finishes midnight). Family room ‘suites' are not really suites but large rooms with a bed settee, but worth paying the extra for. Staff friendly and helpful, and hotel well kept and clean. Facilities fairly ordinary (e.g. no gym or pool) and little by way of grounds. Handy parking. Breakfast OK (I.e. nothing to write home about, especially if you're a veggie) and we found service a little chaotic despite a good number of staff.

A great location for local attractions, check in staff great, room very hot, fan needed all of the time, modern clean bathroom, four poster bed was held together with what looked like no nails glue. Evening meal was great, Terri was a great waitress. Breakfast on first day was amazing freshly cooked to order, second day buffet breakfast not as pleasant, the breakfast staff we found extremely rude, and need to learn to clear tables quicker, Reasonably priced bar, great Barman Alex! Overall a clean and tidy hotel, but could be made better in places.

We stayed in the Francis Moore suite, newly decorated. Lovely comfy bed. Beautiful bathroom. Nice staff. Reasonable prices at the bar. Great location to visit local attractions. Great food options available in the village. Highly recommend.

What a little gem this hotel is. We had a four poster bed in an impeccably decorated room with a lovely bathroom with huge bath! Everything was great including the coffee (and brandy!). The staff were friendly and helpful - I would definitely recommend this hotel. Fantastic value. I cannot believe it is only a 3 star as it was better than some 4 star hotels I've stayed in!

I found out about this place through work and was able to get a special rate because of my job. My parents have wanted to visit Bletchley Park, and so this was in the perfect location. The rooms we had were comfortable, clean and perfect for what we wanted. Staff were amazingly friendly, to the point I wanted to take them home with me! Nothing was too much trouble for them, they went out of their way to help. Food was excellent and the breakfasts fill you up for the day ahead. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay near a city, but looking for a bit of peace.

Down to visit friend who lives in Marston Moretaine, stayed in other hotels previously but will never be chaning again. Close proximitiy to both Milton Keynes and Bedford. This Hotel is perfect for us (Family with 2 Young Children). My daughter was made up with her actvity pack received on arrival. All of the staff made us feel so welcome. Will definitely be revisiting soon. Breakfast was superb and relaxed.

The village setting is lovely and the hotel good in all its basic amenities. But .... - Staff were friendly, but a bit uncoordinated - a serious problem with the lock to our room had not been passed on to the next shift and was unresolved when we returned - eventually we had to change rooms (a complimentary drink was offered, though); newspaper delivery did not happen the first morning. - the restaurant was totally lacking in ambience for the evenings - just a place to eat in, really: air-con being on made it too cool; blinds all shut in the evening though it was still daylight and the view outside was pleasant; staff looked bored quite a lot of the time; table setting utilitarian. The food was, however, quite good, first courses especially imaginative. - the bar was often not attended at early evening time - no bell to ring, reception (who were busy checking guests in) had to be alerted. - as usual with BW hotels, the restaurant is not promoted: we were asked at check-in whether we wanted to eat in the evening, but the menu is not available until 6pm!! A sample menu displayed would help .....

This is a well appointed hotel that is easily one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in within the UK. Wonderfully pleasant and polite staff. I couldn't want for more. I will definitely endeavour to return in future

Needing a stop on our journey to the North after having crossed the channel, I chose Aspley Guise because of its close proximity to the M1. The village is quiet. The hotel is well situated in the centre of the village. Our room was in a separate building to the main hotel but only a minute's walk away. Room was comfortable. We both managed to get s good night's sleep. Staff were helpful and friendly. Recommended.

Great hotel located in the beautiful village of Aspley Guise. The hotel entrance with the large pond and patio area is stunning. We were married at this hotel in 2015 and we return each year to celebrate our anniversary. On every occasion the staff are always very friendly and can't do enough to help you. The hotel is decorated well, the rooms are spacious and the meals are great. Can't wait to return next year and would highly recommend.

I booked into this Hotel as I was going to stay with my son in Aylesbury for a couple of days, but I couldn't go there on the Friday and I didn't want to leave home at dawn on Saturday! I am so glad I did as it was a great place to stay.

We had been very fortunate for friends to book us a room for our wedding night and how wonderful the room was. It had a four poster bed, was spacious and with a large bathroom. It was clean and well presented. The hotel bar was open to whenever we required an we utilised until about 1am. Very pleased with the hotel and especially Rebecca who got us booked in early and efficiently. Would recommend to couples, singles and families.

Enjoyed staying here, the cottages were nice and roomy and fabulous for the price. Not far from Woburn safari and Woburn Abbey. Great value for money. Nice little restaurant in town called the Anchor absolutely fab Sunday roast

Delighted with our stay at Moor Place, the staff were friendly and efficient and the amenities were good. Room was pleasant though not the largest and access was good. We opted to stay an extra night and were moved to another room which was larger.

Very comfortable, clean , excellent staff. Would definitely recommend. Decanter of brandy in room for nightcap was an excellent touch. Can't fault anything. And would re book .didn't get the time to explore the area but would return to explore.

· Staff were friendly and polite. Food was good. · Was disappointed with the room, the bed was small and the quality was poor. The cleanliness wasn't great, dust on top of wardrobes, when we lifted our luggage case down it was covered in dust, and there cobwebs on the coving. The room looked tired and in need of refurbishment. I have used Best Western hotels previously and was expecting more.

We stayed here with friends at this perfect Best Western from 12 – 14 April 2019. We had booked up two rooms through the Tesco Club card scheme and were delighted to have been given rooms 87 & 88. The rooms are absolutely massive and simply perfect. The bathrooms were both also enormous. Both rooms also had a management complimentary container of brandy with two glasses which was refilled every day. A really lovely touch and very much appreciated. The car park attached to this hotel is vast and ample. The check in and out staffs were absolutely perfect and assisted us on each occasion. The bar staff and cannot be faulted and looked after us every evening. The breakfasts which we had booked in advance with our package really set us all up for the day. We had a cooked buffet breakfast with Tea/Coffee and toast supplied to order. To be perfectly honest we could only mention one negative comment, the staffs who greet you for breakfast each morning we all felt really need to attend a customer contact awareness school. The greeting skills to guests in this area are very poor and non-existent. In fact we felt uncomfortable as they never smiled, or said good morning or attempted to be friendly on any level on either morning. Some of the younger waitress staff in the breakfast area however are very much better and couldn't do enough for customers. They ensured we had enough toast or coffee/tea and this fulfilled our breakfast experience and set us up perfectly for the day. Thank you from all of us for our visit and we will be back again.

A nice old hotel in this little English village with plenty of history. Friendly staff and a buffet breakfast. We stayed in The Cottage which was a bit away from the main hotel and down quite a few stairs but well appointed, nice shower, comfortable bed and a free sample of brandy. We were close to the road and whilst it was quiet overnight even on a Sunday it started early.

The hotel looks great, the rooms had potential, but the cottage rooms that I stayed in had an awful damp smell in the corridor..... the kind you get in an old damp caravan. put me off my stay and also in the morning the smell actually put me off going for the breakfast I actually paid for and I went straight to my car and left...... if I stay here again I will not be using the cottage rooms..... finally the location was great

Engaging staff all around, super visit left with a BIG smile on my face today! Stayed in the cottages, quirky...lovely touch with the complimentary Brandy, but lighting needs URGENT reviewing. However, the BEST night's sleep in weeks, comfy bed pillows & so quiet. Really like the fresh cooked breakfast, greeted by wonderful smiles, 'Morning' with the biggest (hope I recall correct?). Great Team lovely spot, will return... thank you.

Very clean hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lounge and restaurant relaxing and welcoming. Our room was a disabled room on the ground floor and was very comfortable and very quiet considering the room was near reception. The only criticism was the wifi was quite slow unless you stood near the room window.

We stayed here for 2 nights in the cottage rooms.Lovely hotel, friendly staff and great rooms. Breakfast was buffet style and very good except the strange orange juice. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evenings as there was a murder mystery eve on one night and a wedding the next, so ate in the local Pub The Anchor..very nice. The Hotel has ample parking.

Yes, it is a trifle faded in places, but this does not detract from the overall stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable, radiators to control the heating and windows you can open. Heaven! The staff are excellent - friendly, helpful and always professional. Moreover they give the impression that they want to care for you and make your stay enjoyable. The food is excellent, whether you dine in the restaurant or avail yourself of the bar menu. Breakfast is plentiful. All on all I really liked this place and shall definitely return.

Great hotel, good value for money, the breakfast was fantastic, choice and quality of food was very good. Staff were friendly and professional. Rooms were spotless. We ate in the hotel one evening and were not disappointed, the front of house staff were amazing, Rebbecca and the bar manager were helpful and made us feel at home, couldn't do enough for us. Will stay again if we are in he area.

Such a quite and cosy hotel! Very clean room wit all facilities needed! Spacious car park! Good selection of drinks! Tasty and fresh beers on tap! Nice smoking area in front of the building! Really enjoyed that night!

Booked 5 rooms here for a family birthday. The reception staff were very helpful and patient with us as I think we were doing our best to thoroughly confuse matters with various payment methods etc. Very pleased with the rooms. We booked 3 doubles and 2 twins which were in the main building and were all a good size. I think the rooms were recently refurbished and were spotless and as well as the normal tea and coffee there was brandy for two in each room. Top tip - turn the radiators off before going to bed, it did get very hot in the night. We booked the DB&B rate and the food was very good. A small choice of 4 dishes for each course on the set menu but you would have to be pretty fussy to not find at least one that you like. Good breakfast buffet and the staff were all lovely. Thanks for a great weekend.

Such a wonderful weekend. From the very courteous Jeanne at checkin. the whole stay was amazing. The restaurant is highly recommended. Our two daughters and their partners joined us for dinner and they all had the steak to be cooked at four different levels from rare to well done. All perfect!!! Service was fantastic, nothing too much trouble. Great clean room and a beautiful nights sleep. Breakfast the next morning was leisurely and no feelings of being rushed. The food was plentiful and the choice was great. The salmon and scrambled eggs are worth a try! And nice and hot too.... Thank you to all the staff for an awesome weekend.

I have stayed here a few times for work now and thought it was time for a review. All of the rooms I have stayed in were great but the last room was the best so far, in the cottage. The staff are very friendly, even when I arrived late in the evening. The breakfast has always been very good with made to order food or some days, self service. As this is a recommended hotel for our work colleagues. I will be looking forward to staying here again soon. There are eating places a short walk away that also offer great food.

My bridal party and I stayed here the night before my wedding. We weren't getting married here but they treated us amazingly. My husband and I stayed the night of our wedding and I kept the room throughout. I love this hotel and the room we had was amazing.

Stayed here with my girlfriend for a night while visiting Woburn Safari and Bletchley Park. The village location is nice and the building itself looks lovely, however everything else was pretty average. The staff were friendly but not the most efficient, the food was okay, and the room was comfortable but decoratively dated. Fine for an overnight stay but I wouldn't recommend staying more than a night.

We stayed here for one night while visiting Bletchley Park. The staff were all very friendly. We had a lovely room with a large bed, three armchairs, coffee table, desk, wardrobe, television, tea and coffee making facilities and brandy! Our bathroom had two wash basins, shower for two and a separate bathtub. Only downside no lift. Breakfast was quite good, help yourself to cereals, fruit, yogurts etc and hot food cooked to order. Only disappointment orange juice very diluted, tasted very weak.

This place is very pleasant with nice, clean rooms, which were reasonable spacious and had nice surroundings too. We had a meal with the murder mystery event that we attended and it was really nice. Although we were able to drink through well in to the early hours, getting served at the bar as everyone arrived, was dire. In a relatively small hotel like this, you wouldn't expect to stand at the bar for 20 minutes, but that's just what happened. Apart from this, the hotel was great.

We were attending a murder mystery evening being hosted at the hotel on a Saturday night. We were instructed to be in the bar at 7pm.....the hotel knowing that there were over 50 people attending, you would have thought would have had more than 1 bar staff on at (and prior to) this time? There were management and staff around, but they thought that filling the water jugs was more important than serving the queue of 25+ people that had grown from the bar! Eventually 2 more people came, and the queue soon went down.....this is my ONLY gripe about the place.... The area is lovely and the hotel sits in a small hamlet village of Milton Keynes, the hotel is well kept, smart, clean and mixes old and new-modern styles with furniture and decor. The food was excellent (pre-ordered for the Murder Mystery event)...chicken ballentine, salmon with fresh veg (the salmon was cooked to perfection!!!!)and cheese to finish (just enough and nicely 'warmed brie') picture attached. The only let-down was the watery, bland 99% cream sauce.....I believe it was meant to be a wine & herb sauce....as the salmon was covered in it, it spoilt the dish a bit...maybe serve on the side next time?? The room won't win any style awards, but it was very clean, functional and to a good decorated standard.....I did notice there was no air-con, so I would be wary if going in a hot summer month? Great breakfast (served until 11am on a Sunday).....picture attached. All in all a nice hotel but the serving staff look miserable (one even commented to us that he was stressed and unhappy when he was made to come to the bar to serve us!) I would go back if I was in the area...

I recently stayed overnight at this best western hotel, set in a very pretty village, unfortunately straight away when entering the hotel, you could see how tired and dated the interior decor was, looking more like 1982 than 2018, the room I stayed in showed this even more, the decor was awful, although I must add very clean, the staff were very professional even though I waited over 20 minutes at the reception to book in, no idea where the receptionist had been, food in the restaurant was pretty standard, overall a very disappointing experience.

The hotel is in its own fabulous grounds and is a fantastic location The staff are very friendly and efficient The room was quite a good size with a bath and shower and a huge tv The rooms could do with a re decoration but are ok There is free WiFi and parking The breakfast is a continental and a cooked breakfast to order which was very good All in all not a bad hotel but your paying for the location and building rather than the rooms

We booked Moore Place as a venue for a family Christmas Eve meal. We had been a couple of years ago and enjoyed the food and service so this year we planned to go again with a party of 30 people. We paid a £100 deposit on the 28th September to secure the date. We received no paperwork and certainly no warning that the deposit was non refundable. However nearing the end of October so many of our party had dropped out for various reasons so for the first time we decided to approach the hotel with a view to cancel the booking. We thought that with nearly 8 weeks to Christmas it wouldn't be a problem to return the deposit especially as they would very likely still re-book the restaurant. We even offered to wait and see if the tables would be re-booked. We were very disappointed to hear though that it is their policy that deposits are never returned. Its a shame as because of this we would certainly not return to Moore Place again and I would urge anyone booking a large party that once a deposit is paid you certainly won't get it back even if you've given them plenty of warning and been as reasonable as possible.

This is a very nice Best Western hotel a little out of Milton Keynes. My room was spacious and I had a four poster bed which was very comfortable. The bathroom also had a lot of space. There is a good size car park at the rear of the hotel. The restaurant was quite could and the service variable and also the menu was not very extensive. Still it is fine for a business stay over.

Stayed two nights in suite 6. Good sized room and bathroom. Dual shower too ! Room could benefit from redecoration to make it more boutique hotel room nevertheless it was clean and comfortable. Rooms in the main house a spaced out well too so didn't experience hardly any noise from outside of the room. Would definitely consider returning.

We had our wedding here and I cannot praise the friendly, organised staff highly enough. From the moment we met Becky, the events manager, we were made to feel as though nothing was too much trouble. As a mature couple we wanted everything in one place, Moore place was perfect with the right balance of being compact, professional yet friendly. We didn't want a traditional ‘wedding breakfast' but more of an informal celebration, with Becky's guidance we had the perfect combination of tradition and informality. The venue rooms were all beautifully decorated, we wanted to do our own table decorations however when we arrived with everything to get set up all pressure was removed as Becky, Dee and her team took over. The canapes could use a little more imagination but the evening buffet and breakfast the next morning were excellent. The DJ Kevin was first class, booked through Becky as was Jon the photographer. We would like to send a huge ‘thank you' to Dee and her team especially Becky, Alex and others behind the bar and behind the scenes for making our special day such a success.

Had a pleasant stay with family, hotel is clean and staff helpful and polite. Booked a room in the detached wing of the main hotel, this was a short walk that is not under cover. Room was a little dated but was nice and comfortable And clean. Expensive breakfast if not booked part of the room price!

Stayed for weekend away. Very pleasent hotel. Good sized modern room. Small decanter of Brandy in room - nice touch. Well appointed. Staff excellent. Good location. Small village with other places to eat. More than happy to stay again.

We stayed here for one night on 6/10. We had hosted a party for a 100 guests to celebrate our wedding earlier this year in the hotel and around 40 rooms were booked by those of our guests who wished to stay overnight. Our room was excellent, spacious and very comfy. Other guests who we spoke with were also more than happy with their rooms. Breakfast in the morning was fine. This is the perfect local hotel to host a special event. Would happily stay here again.

I have the pleasure of working in Milton Keynes on a regular basis and dislike the clinical, over-priced hotels nearby. Out of desperation, I looked slightly further afield and found this gem of a hotel. Check-in was friendly, my room was nice and I was very impressed. The star of the show is the bar which has one of the best menus I have ever seen. I get fed up of seeing the same choices again and again, but this hotel has a great selection. My curry was absolutely perfect and I even had room for pudding. The lovely Dee works hard to keep her team in order and the result is a busy and well-run bar. The restaurant looks pretty good and I will try it tomorrow! If you are in the area, this hotel is well worth considering.

When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the setting, the ample parking and the exterior features of the building. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member. In fact all of the desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our bath was very nice. The water was hot. It was a good size and was well-lighted, but it is in dire need of a safety grab bar on wall next to tub/shower. Things went downhill from there. We went to dinner only to be told the restaurant did not open until seven. At seven there were quite a few diners, so service was glacially slow. The food was acceptable but not special in any way. The restaurant staff appeared not to be sure what they were supposed to do. Then came the £12.50 breakfast. The breakfast staff REALLY appeared not to know what to do. The poached egg and bacon containers were empty for so long we finally mentioned that they needed to be refilled. There were no potatoes on offer at all and the juice was so diluted that you could not tell what it was supposed to be. At one point every table needed to be cleared. People were arriving and there were no cleared tables for them. There was no staff regularly checking to see if food containers were empty or that tables were cleared. When they finally brought out more eggs, they brought only 6! There appeared to be no system for who would do what. For what was offered, the breakfast was overpriced. In reading reviews for this place, people have been complaining about the restaurant since at least 2016. Why have the same problems not been solved? Our beds in room 33 were very tired and the pillows had no bounce. The one thing to be expected in a hotel is a comfortable well-maintained bed. It is a mystery to me that it is difficult to buy a flat sheet in a store here, but many hotels are still using them instead of fitted sheets. At Moore Place the bottom sheet failed to cover the end of the mattress, so that if one's feet fall over the end of the bed, one is sharing ‘foot cooties' with anyone else whose feet have fallen over the end. After I had solved the problem myself (with a fitted sheet I purchased) the staff did offer to have the bed remade, but it should not have been an issue in the first place. I have been quite disappointed that Best Western has failed to meet the standards one expects of them..This place could be so very nice with better management, but as it is, I would not recommend it.

Very good hotel. Stayed twice during the same week, no problems encountered during either stay. Rooms were comfortable and hotel location was excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is a bit out of the way but very good placed for trips in the Milton kings area not so far off the motorway good connection to all the places you would like to visit In the hotel you find lots of brochures

Sadly would not recommend this hotel. Staff friendly but complaints about the room did not seem to be passed on, Wallpaper peeling off the wall. No hot water in the room for 48hrs. Way below the standard of what I had experienced in the past from Best Western. A great shame, seemed in need of a bit of TLC as a hotel

A booked function, so no surprise-why then do they have one bar person only; no draught beers because 'the cooler broke earlier in the day', two persons serving the food which was at best, average. Not to be revisited I am afraid

Stayed here for one night in the junior suite and was everything advertised! Room was lovely, arranged for a bottle of champagne to be there upon arrival which it was. Complementary taster of brandy in the room. Very quiet night. Didn't have dinner there or breakfast but it did look lovely. Would stay again!

Our Wedding We got married here on Saturday 1st September 2018 I arrived on the Friday afternoon as I was staying here the night before our wedding. So me and some family and friends also stayed the night before the wedding. Upon arrival at the hotel we was welcomed by the reception staff who helped us with taking our stuff for the wedding into a room overnight ready for the wedding the next day. As I made all the wedding decorations myself, as well as making all the other bits and pieces that was needed for the wedding was all sorted in the room they let me use just so my stuff would all be safe for use the next day. The wedding day it's self was really good the staff went above and beyond their duties on the day, The staff that all worked on the day our wedding (Anita Woodward & Charles Morris) did a fantastic job with helping whenever any of our guests needed something they would do what ever was needed. The wedding breakfast was to die for the meal was really nice and very well presented from the starter to the main to the desert could not fault the chef as he done a fantastic job with doing all the meals for 50 people. The waiters and waitress all done a fantastic job of bringing all the meals out for our guests and all my guests did comment on how good the food was. so well done to all the kitchen staff. The greenhouse room which we had use of for the wedding ceremony was set up really nice and beautifully done for us to get married, After the ceremony the staff had to change the room for the wedding breakfast which also looked great upon walking into the room all the tables had everything on then that was needed for each table to which 3 of my friends helped but all my decorations on to all the tables including the top table. everybody involved with the turn around was great. The same room was then all changed for people to be able to sit down while the evening reception got under way. The drinks reception was also great as the drinks where all ready for people when they came out of the ceremony and could grab a drink on their way out to have photo's taken There are 2 very special lady's that we would both like to thank for all their help with everything that they did with the lead up to the wedding and for all their support over the 2 and half years of planing the wedding at this hotel. They was always happy to help me with every question that I asked and answer every email that I sent, nothing was to much for these to ladies at all. And those ladies are Becky and Dee. Becky you was also on hand with all the help you gave me every time I emailed you always answered every-time. Dee you did a fantastic job with sorting everything out on our big day and organising all the staff and getting everything ready so it all went smoothly. FANTASTIC JOB LADIES Amy on reception was really doing a FANTASTIC job with helping me (the bride) with what ever I needed or asked of her she was even serving in the bar over our weekend stay at the hotel. And Amy was also keeping an eye on my mum as she was a little unsteady on here feet still after her knee op. which was really nice of her. Amy was approachable and very friendly and also welcoming and a very bubbly, happy, smiley person I loved her. The room that we stayed in was very nice the furniture was all old fashioned which went well with the style of the hotel could not fault any room that I went into as I went into a few as their was a lot of my family and friends staying there and they all said that there rooms where all perfect. So lastly on behalf of myself and my husband we would like to say a big massive thank you to each and everyone of you who worked our wedding day on Saturday 1st September 2018. My wife and I stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends who live nearby. The hotel is situated in lovely small village and is an impressive building on arrival. Ample parking at rear and staff were so friendly and helpful. We were given room 38 which I recommend you ask for when booking as it has a (very) small balcony which we sat on to enjoy a cuppa after our long journey. I loved the complimentary Brandy in the room too, what a great touch. Comfortable bed with extra pillows available in the wardrobe if needed. I will definitely book here again when visiting. I can't comment on the restaurant as we did not make use of this facility during our stay. Thank you to the great staff who are worthy of mention.

The hotel was in a lovely village and very quiet. The staff were helpful & friendly and the breakfast was delicious and varied catering to all needs. This was a quick overnight stay on the way back from a week away and I would fully recommend. A shot of brandy in the room was a lovely touch.

The hotel is an old hotel with creaking upstairs floors and squeaking mattress. I didn't get the feel of an old rustic place with charm, just a place that appears to have been overlooked by Best Western with regard to the decor and need to replace the mattresses after some considerable time.

We booked direct for two nights For our anniversary Found the first room noisy due to kitchen extractor, asked to change Rooms . This they did no problems and the second room was very nice . Great breakfasts and top service from all staff Will return again !

We cannot speak highly enough about Our Golden Wedding Celebration on 28th July 2018 The Staff were lovely, always welcoming. BECKY A REAL STAR helped us from the time we booked, until our big day. It really was perfect in every way. Thank you so much for a wonderful memory.

Overnight stay. Twin Room. Bedsere really uncomfortable. One pillow each on beds .Requested more told by staff that no extra pillows available and member of staff trying to be helpful took the pillows from another vacant room.??? Member of staff explained that there were not enough pillows in the hotel for every guest to have two??? Room was grubby. Hair in the bath and sink. TV had no guide remote not working properly,No aircon advertised.There was a function at the hotel. Woken at 11.00pm unable to sleep until after 2.00am due to noise laughter crying running and swearing outside our door and above us. To add to this lovely noise outside of leaking gutter. Breakfast too expensive for what was offered no hot breakfast or room service offered Did complain hotel said they were sorry about the bad night and room we had had but because i booked through booking.com they said they would refund the breakfast only. BEWARE as They will only allow you to book through booking.com in the first place as i rang the hotel in the first instance to book direct which they said they could not do as i needed to go through booking.com as they had only available rooms through that company. I wish i had booked the premier in for £67.00 as i would have least have had a clean quiet room with two whole pillows!!Instead i paid £98 for a 2nd rate grubby hotel room. The pictures advertised online do not represent the hotel.

Stayed here years ago and was good then. Lovely staff, lovely rooms. Couldn't fault it other than breakfast room and bedrooms were too hot but so was everywhere. Lovely food. Convenient for Windsor the following day.

I arrived at this hotel after a 4hour drive, it was hot and unwelcoming was my first impression. It's clear the staff are worked to extreme. The receptionist arrived and spoke very quickly and not very clear, she pointed me in the direction of my room after doing the necessary paperwork. She did her best and being under pressure to take care of other parts of the business I can not blame her. I opened the door to my room to be greeted with such heat from the room. If only housekeeping closed the curtains during the heat and with no air con at least offer residents a fan....... I freshened up and decided to walk around the hotel because the room was to hot. I walked past reception - no one there again. I found a nice cool place and sat there, the receptionist whizzed by and found a male member of staff to wait on me, he was delightful,in between moving furniture around he was attentive and very polite, I think his name was Abdul? I enjoyed a cold drink and a snack. When I went back to my room I opened the windows, the bathroom window overlooked the pathway leading to reception , no blind to the window, not a good idea if you need to tinkle or decide to take a bath. The bedroom windows only partly opened, the TV didn't work the zapper batteries had lost power, the whole room needed freshening up and blackout blinds would be useful. Shortly after midnight I was woken up with doors banging, people talking outside my room very loudly, shouting to others, I eventually fell back to sleep, again at 12.50 am more doors banging, more shouting, this time it went on for over 20 minutes, I called reception and no answer, I tried a few times but nothing, I felt a little concerned, I didn't have continued sleep I kept waking and jumping when I heard anything, at 6.30 I heard a trolley or a wheel based vessel being pulled along the path and then again, and again and again. I had enough and got out of bed, had a shower - Luke warm but I didn't mind due to the room still being hot. I couldn't wait to check out - at the reception I found 3 receptionist !!! when I did tell a different receptionist about my stay she said "oh dear" the other reception said to me, after I had paid......I wish I could have done something to make your stay a better one.......too late when you have checked out !!!! I always believe in giving a second chance .....well the jury is out on whether I will return there or not

Very pleased I have discovered this hotel. I always find it a tad challenging finding a hotel when visiting family and friends when back in the Central Bedfordshire/Buckinghamshire zone. Having checked some of the hotels in the MK area found that parking came at an extra cost on top of charge and so not to be charged for parking here was awesome. It is a nice village location and hotel space and always a bonus we enjoyed good sunny weather whilst visiting although a tad noisy in the room that we had as were by the road and quite amazed at how fast traffic travels through the village due to the fact we had our windows open during the night/early morning. I guess it is on a rat run between the M1 and MK area. We assume we were placed in a room near the road because we had booked with Booking.com but hope next time to visit and hopefully stay on the quieter side of the hotel space. Room was adequate, quite small and a tad warm but they had provided a fan which was good and we could open windows too. We had one meal in the restaurant whilst staying for 2 nights and the 4 of us that ate enjoyed all our meals very much - compliments to the chef. Some of the staff were friendlier than others but I guess depends on what shift they have been on. It would be good that staff know how to serve a Gin&Tonic though as important for guests especially at a hotel bar that drinks are served in the right glasses! Anyway, enough waffle all in all a good place to stay and hopefully will be back to stay again when visiting family/friends at Christmas time if the rate works for us. Thank you.

University reunion with friends. Chose this as we were going to Bletchley Park. Ample parking even though there was a wedding on. Bedrooms in the Cottage were large, bed comfortable, good linens, large bathroom. Only downside quite a bit of road noise but it was a hot night and we had the windows open. They had used an upstairs room in the main hotel for non wedding diners. Food was good, delivered quite speedily considering the obvious pressure on the kitchen. Only drawback was the very young and untrained staff in the bar and dining room. Gin and tonic with no gin, 'what's white wine?' etc. (Honest) Front of house very efficient and professional. Overall good value.

This was a surprise to me when we arrived. We thought it would be in a more populated area only to find a lovely little village off the bustle of large road network. The room was very pleasant, albeit it was a hot night and stifling. Not the hotel's fault and I cannot moan about nice weather in England. One staff member on the desk was pleasant and efficient, new to her job, although I found the member rather impolite and discourteous. She seemed to be lording it over the new member. When customers notice this it makes you wonder what goes on when customers are not there. She was also quite rude about my problem with the TV. She came to sort it out but implied I was not pressing the right buttons. Poor customer service if you ask me. Please note this was only one staff member the rest were perfectly nice getting on with their job.

The best western is tucked away so if you link you may miss the turn in. Once in there is plenty of parking and the hotel is lovely. Reception staff are friendly and helpful, just what you want as first faces. The room we had was lovely with a little balcony and everything you could need. Spent two wonderful relaxing days here. The only negative comments are the staff in the restaurant were a bit frosty!! A smile costs nothing and makes the experience so much nicer

Stayed here for a business trip, first impression was encouraging, nice hotel, well situated. All was well until I ventured to the bar, whereupon the lady behind the bar made it quite clear I was an inconvenience for asking for a G&T, and for it to be charged to my room. I made my way to the restaurant for my booked table for one,which was more or less in the doorway,allowing the patrons of the bar in the next room ample opportunity to watch me eat, which they availed themselves of. The starter was tolerable if rather on the small side (even for a starter it was small), to be followed by what was described as a 10z rib eye steak. In reality it was a 3 inch round, quarter inch thick piece of cheap fatty meat, served with frozen chips, half a tomato and a mushroom. The "peppercorn" sauce appeared to be a spoonful of gravy with a bit of pepper in it. The service was uninspiring, verging on disinterest. Shall not be returning. TLDR; service poor, food worse.

Lovely looking hotel when arrived. Felt very idyllic with tables outside and a large pond where you could sit and relax. No issues with check in and given room key. The room itself was fine however the balcony had not been checked by the cleaning staff and there were close to 20 cigarette butts lying around. Bit off putting for 2 reasons. Firstly not cleaned and they have a standard £150 charge which could have been levied on me if i had not go out to have a coffee. Had a drink in the bar and then went for a nice relaxing walk around the village. Upon return another drink was ordered and took the same seat as previously and the table had not been cleared!! The bar staff were not always there and had to be chased up by reception. Stayed here for a meal which was nice but not always steaming hot. It was embarrassing however at check out when the 2 members of staff decided to have an argument while doing the final bill. Not a good parting memory. All in all i would stay here again Sorting the issues would would make this a near perfect place to stay.

Can't say enough about the place all good Nancy on the reception was so helpful.food was very nice and the bar staff was great.room clean and everything working .in the Buckingham they had the world cup showing which was a nice touch as well as the brandy in the room I am very impressed and would love to stay here again

When I booked the hotel I asked for a quiet room but we were given one overlooking the road and next to the stairwell! Fortunately it wasn't too noisy in the evening. The floor creaked badly and I feel sorry for anyone in the room below. We struggled to find any sockets near the tea, coffee and kettle and had to move it next to the TV. (Just as we were leaving I found a double socket behind the TV though these were for the TV and clock.) The headboard of the four poster bed creaked, though fortunately not at night and we slept well. We had trouble opening the sash window - some instruction would have been handy. The window in the bathroom overlooked the road and if you were sitting on the toilet or just getting out of the bath or shower you would have been in full view of the houses opposite. There was a blind but we didn't want to pull it down in the middle of the day. I can never understand when hotels only give you one bath towel and one hand towel when they know there are two of you!

This hotel is well placed in the village - it has good parking and a nice outdoors area near a pond that is good to sit out if the weather is good. The hotel has grown over time so there is sleeping in the main building and in the annex Room was well appointed but a bit dated and the shower didn't get above tepid.The windows looked out onto other rooms close by so had to keep the blinds down. Service was ok and the breakfast while not the best I have seen was reasonable with cereals , pastries , fruit juices , fruit as well as a cooked breakfast to order.

We had a one night groupon stay. Very pleased, amazing value. The hotel was very nice, clean, good size. We eat st the restaurant, very pleased with the good I would recommend the hotel and would stay again, the bargain of a groupon deal was icing on the cake.

It had been a good few years since I last stayed at this Hotel and I was disappointed in the standard of accommodation on offer. I had booked the Aspley House annexe which in hindsight was a mistake as the room I was given fronted on to the village through road which was surprisingly busy. The room was single glazed with secondary panels, it was a very warm evening and with the window open the traffic noise was very intrusive, I mentioned this to a unsympathetic receptionist who told me the traffic would subside by 9.30pm, as it happens it was nearer 11.30pm. The room was very small with no air conditioning so I could have done with leaving the window open. this was not practical due to the traffic noise. After 11.30pm it quietened down only to start up again around 5.30am which combined with much slamming of doors in the annexe meant no sleep was had. The restaurant food quality was, at best indifferent, with possibly one of the worst steaks I have ever had, despite the Hotel being full it was possibly due to the standard of food that there were very few diners. Breakfast showed no improvement, I believe the cost was around £11.50 for which I received 1 x small rasher bacon, 2 x tablespoons of what was possibly scrambled egg, half a dozen mushrooms and 1 x small sausage all which looked quite lost on my plate - disapointing. In summary I think the stay overall just did not meet expectations, I have stopped in a lot of hotels during my business career which covers 40+ years and this is the first time I have been moved to write a negative review, there are chain hotels such as Premier who maintain far higher standards of comfort and value, I feel this Hotel is expensive for the quality given and, sadly, one I shall avoid in the future.

We were staying at this hotel for a weekend break and to celebrate my husbands birthday I booked a suite. We had a lovely meal and despite the room clearly not resembling a suite, were happy to accept this. However, let the nightmare begin... At 00.45am we were awoken by someone trying to enter our room. These other guests had been given a working key card, and entered our room, where we were in bed. My husband shouted and they left. My husband dressed and went to reception in an attempt to solve this breach of security and invasion of privacy. The night porter accepted responsibility for giving access to other guests (SEE HarryH4567's review). Neither of us returned to sleep as we were concerned that there may be a further invasion of privacy. The following morning we were mid-way through breakfast (with food on the table) and were asked to change tables! Absolutely no way was we doing such a thing, they had seated us at the table we were sat at. The hotel referred to our complaint as a 'disturbance to sleep' we certainly don't agree with their categorising!! this was not a disturbance of sleep!! this was a total and utter breach of our security and privacy brought about by the hotel entirely. As you can see they even tried to charge our unwanted sharers for our bar bill (HarryH4587)!! Don't use this hotel unless you are happy to share with complete strangers.. alternatively bring your own security chain for the door..

We arrived here with family, including bride and groom, after midnight. One chap on reception didnt have a clue what he was doing. Here goes: Some of us had paid in full already, some booked via booking.com and needed to pay. He refused to accept that rooms were paid for and insisted that all guests provided cards so that a holding fee could be charged. The following morning they accepted that he shouldnt have done that. One of the keys provided was used only to find a poor chap in bed already in the room which was clearly double booked. A 10 year old bridesmaid in our party was left terrified that someone would come into her room overnight, ruining an otherwise lovely day. The following morning at checkout, they tried to charge over £100 food and drinks bill which must have been for the chap that was woken up. We were going to have a drink in the bar - the man on reception said he was in charge of both reception and the bar and he would be back in a few minutes. We tired of waiting and went to bed. Once we had washed, changed and gone to sleep, the receptionist decided it would be a good idea to call the room and wake us up to twll us he was back if we wanted a drink! Not happy! Only one of our group (accross 2 rooms) had breakfast that we needed to pay for as we hadnt pre-booked and he was given a card to pay on check out. However, when we got our bill, they charged for 4 hot breakfasts and 2 continental. Where they got that from I just don't know. Bill was correct on 3rd attempt. On checkout, another couple were complaining about their stay, there were other complaints whilst we were waiting to check out. Rooms were stifling hot - it was a warm day but no aircon and no fan. A double bed had only 1 pillow and 2 small brown cushions. Only points are for the breakfast which looked ok, and the tea and coffee facilities in the room. It also appeared clean. My advice, stay elsewhere unless you want a very stressful experience.

The hotel itself is lovely, well kept rooms, facilities included hair dryer in the room, tea and coffee making facilities, and also a lovely added touch of a whiskey filled small decanter that was refilled both nights ( a lovely touch my partner in particular enjoyed!) The bed was actually a lovely double and not the dreaded two mattresses pushed together. We bought this as a deal, which included a three course meal at the hotel - this meal was lovely, well presented and tasted amazing. Although not a missive choice to choose from what we had was delicious and exceeded expectations. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Would recommend this hotel

I have recently read a few poor comments about the Moore Place Hotel. I thought the hotel, rooms and staff were superb. My only gripe would be the full English breakfast which was on the small side but I really hungry at the time which may have clouded my view. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend you see for your self

What a pleasant change from the concrete, steel and glass hotels that one finds everywhere, with their little boxes of rooms. The building is lovely, our ensuite room was large, clean, well-appointed and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The bar was pleasant. Indeed the entire atmosphere of the place was lovely. The loung was bright and comfortable, and there was a super patio outside, by the fishpond in the garden, with little tables where it was delightful to sit in the sunshine and sip a drink. A very relaxing place to be, and very reasonably-priced. Air-conditioning would have been a bonus, as we picked a very hot weekend - but sadly there was none. Highly recommended.

Just come back from a fantastic stay @ Moore Place, room was lovely overlooking the pond, staff were always bright and cheery, couldn't do enough for us. Great location in a lovely village, close to Woburn Safari Park & House, Bletchley and Milton Keynes.

The hotel has a nice size of the rooms, our twin room had a bulkony.The bed was very comfortable. Good internet connection. Nice breakfast, although the fool English breakfast could be hotter. We would be happy to stay longer in this hotel. Highly likely we will stay here again.

We chose this hotel as a two night break away for my wife's birthday and were not disappointed in the least. From arriving and booking in we felt very welcome and relaxed. We stayed in room 7 and were impressed with the size of the room, the double shower and four-poster bed with carved headboard. With being at the front of the hotel our outlook was on the village square of Aspley Guise but it was quiet even on what would be busy times of day. The hotel was clean, tidy, with a comfortable guests lounge and exterior terrace which gave access to the rear car park. Drinks from the bar were reasonably priced and there were enough choices to cater for most. The restaurant/breakfast room was large and airy with attentive staff and good menu even for voucher guests. The evening meal was amazing and we would recommend the salmon for a main course. For desert we chose the cheese board which consisted of three varieties of cheese and a selection of crackers. At breakfast there was a large central table with continental and cereal foods, fresh juice, jams etc. The cooked breakfast menu consisted of full English, eggs Benedict and other such fare. One small quibble which was nobody's fault was that the room, with being at the top of the hotel, got very warm at night while we were there. However, we called the night porter who brought up a floor standing fan within five minutes which was gratefully received. In summary, we were extremely pleased with the hotel, its helpful, pleasant staff, lovely rooms and general atmosphere. We have always tried to choose Best Western as we have found the chain to be comparable across the country and Moore Place lived up to this comparison. Thank to all concerned for a great stay.

Friendly, courteous staff. Clean room and beds comfortable. Bathroom functional but fine. Still brandy in bedroom, and I tried some and it was ok. Usual facilities tea, coffee, and dried milk sachets. UHT Milk cartons in glass on the same tray.

Lovely stay ! Rooms nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast good. However what makes this stay enjoyable is the staff. Ladies at check in answered all our questions we had and made sure we New everything we needed to know about the hotel and our stay. I am especially impressed with the service me and my partner received from Amber and anup while dining in the hotel. Look out for them during your stay.

Very clean, stately looking hotel with a grand orangery reception and very comfortable rooms. Room is very well equipped only criticism is that the shower and tap hot water came out yellow from rusty pipes I think but my colleagues did not have this problem. We stayed in main building greatly decorated. What i did not like all doors were open so was very cold in the bar. Food choices very limited so we went out plenty of local eateries to choose from. I highly recommend the Anchor. This hotel is a gem if away on business perfectly located to motorways and the town offer a lot of choice to eat out and have a drink. I will return

Stayed Friday and Saturday for my daughters wedding held at Woburn Safari Park. The lady on reception made us extremely welcome, the room was very large, clean and the en-suite was well appointed with a good shower over the bath. We ate in the restaurant, wide choice of food and very well cooked. Breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday was excellent. Altogether perfect for our needs and we were blessed with beautiful weather to top it all off!

lovely hotel in a convenient location for business in Milton Keynes. Great checkin/out and good customer service from all staff. Plenty of parking and excellent communal areas. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with a complimentary drink ! The only issue are rooms that are close to the road as it is very very loud.

Really nice hotel, which is ideal for Woburn safari Park etc. Stayed here with my daughter, for its close proximity to the safari park and Go Ape. The room was neat, tidy and spacious, with lovely comfortable beds. There's lots of free parking and if you don't want to use the hotel bar, an excellent pub just across the road. The breakfast was excellent and was really worth the money. All in all we had a nice night's stay, after going wild at Go Ape and then a nice breakfast to kick start our next day, spent at the safari park tour.

Last minute booking! Got there pretty late, and was rising very early, so not eating there....I can never understand why these places charge so much for breakfast! Anyway, clean but tired room (some paint peeiling), but comfy bed. Small decanted of a strange smelling and, I presume, alcoholic beverage, with 2 sherry glasses, which was a bit quirky! Super powerful shower! Given the bargain that I got, perfect for the money, but would not have been so happy at miore normal rates!!!

We stayed in room 2, four poster bed. plenty of space and nice size TV. Breakfast both mornings were good, we ate one evening and could not fault the food or the service. Had one issue with our room (dirty pillow case) this was sorted immediately, as was the mistake with our payment by Amy. Although out of Milton Keynes it was only a £10 taxi ride. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Some reviews saying its a little dated... Yes it is, which is the character of the place... Brand new Premier Inn it is not!!!!

At a afternoon party today I witnessed an incident between a young receptionist and an older wait staff the older lady was on the phone then she slammed the phone down and called the younger reception a ugly c*** there was no retaliation, I am disgusted as I live in the village and have never heard something so nasty come out of a staff members from Moore place mouth (usually they're amazing) on the other hand the food was Perfect and everyone enjoyed themselves I understand things in the work place can get stressful but there is no need for verbal abuse towards each other Moore place sort your staff out !!

Have had a week of travelling around the UK, staying at a number of Premier Inn's and finishing at this hotel just outside Milton Keynes. In my opinion it is past it's best. I booked one of the "cottage" rooms, not really aware what the term cottage meant in this context. When checking in, the receptionist checked I was happy with that choice. The cottage rooms, apparently had a lot more room, but the furniture was older. I went to the room (in a set of converted building across the car park), but as I tripped down the step into the darkened room I caught the dust on my breath. The furniture was indeed old & saggy. After 10 minutes with the window open I still found the dust distracting. I returned to reception to complain, and was moved to a room in another block. This was much cleaner, with no taste of dust. Perfectly adequate. Only adequate though: TV was showing it's age, taking several seconds to switch between channels. Shower mixer unpredictable. Key card took several attempts to work. I had breakfasts twice during my stay. Their blandness and modest size for the price (see attached) persuaded me against having an evening meal in the hotel. The overnight rate here (~£80/night) was slightly higher than the average Premier Inn rate I'd experienced this week. But the quality was noticeably lower. Things like: * every surface clean, everything in perfect condition. * friendly local cleaning staff, happy to engage & discuss local area * very comfortable huge bed, large desk Sure, I'd normally avoid major chains like Premier Inn - indeed that's what I was doing here. It would have been great to chance on a countryside gem, but that's the gamble. I booked this room at very short notice (~2 hours), and Expedia offered a substantial discount. That elevated my expectations of what I'd be getting. Sucker. No, I'm not blindly praising Premier Inn - I'd never used them before this week.

We stayed for a wedding. The venue was great. Staff helpful and friendly. Special praise goes to Amy on reception who quickly sorted a couple of issues we had. Thank you Amy all is sorted now. You were a star.

We stayed overnight, our room was spacious and comfortable, everything was clean if a little dated and in need of a lick of paint. Dinner was included in the deal and was very good indeed, a wedding party had booked the main restaurant but we were accommodated in a function room upstairs, it was a bit soulless but as we were with friends it did not impact on our enjoyment. Every member of staff was pleasant and helpful, Anup stood out as making that extra effort to make sure we felt welcome and he looked after us very well at dinner, a very personable young man. We would definitely stay here again.

We attended a wedding - the venue is lovely and perfect for the occasion. The wedding breakfast was lovely and the accommodation was perfect for an over night stay. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

We have lived locally for three years and have popped in for drinks on multiple occasions with our dogs (both well behaved). Of course we checked on the first occasion that this was acceptable. We were actually surprised to be allowed; but delighted as there is only the one other option in the village - a pub over the road; which although excellent can be very busy and loud (the Best Western bar was always comparitively quiet). We popped in on the evening of 11th March for a couple of drinks with my parents and the dogs. There was only one other patron in there. The lady behind the bar peered at us for a good minute as we decided where to sit; before saying brusquely "excuse me - you can't come in here with dogs". We replied, really, as we have been allowed in the past? No reply, just a stare down. OK then; pubs and bars change thier policies from time to time and we understand that - off to the Anchor it is. This is the part that annoyed me to the extent to leave this review. As we were leaving (literally at the front door exiting) another woman followed us and repeated "you're not allowed dogs in here". I replied, "we are just leaving; but we have been here multiple times with the dogs". She then stated "we have never allowed dogs in here". Then followed a back and forth in which we pointed out that our previous visits were not a figment of our imagination. As stated, I appreciate that places change thier policies from time to time in respect of dogs. But I do not appreciate it being inferred that we are liars. We have in the past been good customers to your (dated) bar, in spite of the prices/poor selection. Our families have also stayed here when visiting.... think we'll recommend elsewhere until you hire some pleasant staff.

We had our wedding reception here last weekend. The team were fantastic and extremely organised. From arrival to the end of the night we had a lovely day, I can't praise them enough. All our guests enjoyed themselves and the set up of every room was perfect. I would definitely recommend this venue to any future couples as a wedding venue and a great place to stay.

Considering the weather conditions our star at this hotel couldn't have be better, they organised taxis meals and drinks all the time we stayed, nothing was to much trouble for the hotel staff. A big thank you to all staff for looking after us during our stay.

We recently stayed overnight at this hotel as it was part of our Groupon deal (Christmas Gift). We arrived earlier than check in time and when we asked what was good to do nearby the nice lady behind the desk gave us lots of ideas. As the village is small, there isn't much to do but she recommended the Woburn Sands (high street) which had some nice places to eat... unfortunately, being unprepared we didn't book and couldn't get a table! We ended up in Intu Milton Keynes which was lovely too! When we returned, we checked in and went to our rooms. The rooms are lovely, dated but in keeping with the fascinating history of the building, and they are clean which is the most important thing for me. The bathrooms are clean too and very spacious (we had rooms 5 and 7). The brandy is a sweet gesture in each room (however we aren't brandy fans but its still considerate of the hotel). The set menu was a good mix but I think I just chose poorly. I had the Italian meats to start but they were very basic meats which must've come from a supermarket packet. I then had the pasta but unfortunately, it was quite bland and not very tasteful, which is a shame because it looked/sounded gorgeous. I had a bit of a mix up with the staff when checking out as they told us we had a £4.50 bill to setlle but I had settled this at dinner via cash (which was for a drink I ordered). Upon paying for the drink on the night of the meal, the waitress asked me to sign the receipt to say I had paid for it. When checking out, apparently signing the receipt meant that I was paying upon check out... The lady behind the desk clearly didn't believe me but concluded with "Well, on this occasion, I guess I will let this go but I will speak to the team" - I just thought it was an inappropriate way to handle the situation. Regardless of this, I would definitely return, perhaps not on a Groupon Deal but for a short stay. I recommend that you wear layers/warm clothes when downstairs as the building is old and the window/walls have cracks/gaps which let in a draft.

Had a couple of nights booked today and tomorrow, but due to the extreme weather we were unable to make it This hotel would not move the dates to a different day, nor would they waive the cancellation charge What were we meant to do risk our lives to keep the booking!! Disgusted that in this day and age a large corporate hotel chain like yourselves wouldn't honour the booking for another time when it was safe to travel!

Bed was comfy, nice touch of brandy on arrival in the room, breakfast was amazing especially the sausages and yoghurts. lots to choose from at breakfast. TV didnt work so had no background noise in my room as travelled alone and as staff didnt show me to my room or tell me how you get in the room didnt realise you just quickly swiped the card key I didnt go ask them to sort the telly No lift in the building or I wasnt informed there was one.

We had the most wonderful over night stay and evening meal to celebrate our first anniversary. The hotel looks amazing after some refurbishment. Our room with sleigh bed ensuite was clean and tidy with a welcome decanter of whisky. We have very fond memories of this hotel and even though there were different faces the team were very happy and polite. Restaurant evening meal was very tasty beautifully presented. We have decided that we may just have to keep returning for our wedding anniversary every year. Thanks very much Moore place for a very pleasant stay.

Hotel is brilliant some of the staff susceptible but massive thanks to Ellie, Alex and Terri for making the week away from home on valentines week very much more accomadating and much more homely.....

My wife and I stayed here on a Groupon deal (DB&B) for one Thursday night and so the "value for money" was excellent. In the afternoon we played golf at Aspley Guise & Woburn Sands Golf Club which is also very good (short, narrow but in great condition). In the hotel:- 1. All staff were very friendly and helpful 2. Our room was spacious although bathroom was quite small but adequate. Everything was clean. 3. Our dinner was well cooked and presented; friendly service and a good choice on the menu 4. Breakfast was freshly cooked and a reasonable selection for this type of hotel. Would we stay again? Not on a couples break - but yes if we were playing golf in the area or here individually for a business stop over. I say this because the the hotel overall is very presentable and well located, it's just that there is no wow factor. Reception is OK, the bar area is average, the restaurant for us lacked any atmosphere and the corridors to rooms were OK but getting tired. So nothing wrong.... just not a country house hotel, more of a superior Holiday Inn. It may be better presented in Spring\\ Summer.

We have stayed here before and use it primarily as it's a Best Western. It's a good location for MK , plenty of parking, free WiFi, etc. Rooms are comfortable but a little dated , same applies to bathroom. Restaurant lacks atmosphere, we only had breakfast , which was fine, but did not use it for an evening meal due to poor reports from friends and family who have had 2 poor experiences since Xmas. The staff were ok. Plenty of potential.

We stayed her for a murder mystery evening in December 2017, and it was great. The hotel is close to Milton Keynes but set in a beautiful village which has a nice little pub close by. The staff where great and friendly. The rooms where large and had everything you needed including a free brandy. We would stay again

There are better places to stay. Rooms are a mixture of good and bad. Some in the main building and some in out buildings. Staff are not very helpful and do not appreciate feedback when you provide it.

Stayed there for a wedding weekend and booked four nights - we were given an excellent (family) room. While there was an initial problem with the door lock, the staff worked around it until it was fixed, which was great as we didn't want to change rooms. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was quite, warm and comfortable. They could do with fixing the constantly dripping toilet cistern and upping the quality of breakfast, for vegetarians in particular, as this was unreliable. We would stay again as it does provide excellent value for money, but having seen some of the other rooms, we'd want to know which room we were staying in.

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was really nice, comfortable and well furnished. The hotel overall is very presentable and well located. My only criticism is in relation to the evening meal and "room service". The food for dinner was extremely bland and lacking in flavour, but the breakfast was fine. When we ordered a couple of bottles of water via room service on our first night, we were told that we would have to pay an extra £2.50 for the bottles to be brought up to our room! We found this quite surprising as bottles of water were already over priced! The hotel provided a small shot of complimentary brandy in the room. We felt that as the amount of brandy that was provided was so small that it would have been better to have provided complimentary water!

From the moment we arrived to the morning we left our first time stay at Moore Place was a pleasure. Our room - 5 - was a comfortable size, included 2 armchairs and was so warm at times we turned the radiator off ! Food was lovely, a good choice at dinner and a varied choice for breakfast, the English was mostly cooked to order and served hot, lovely. Cannot close without mentioning the staff, everyone was friendly, helpful in the extreme, chatty too, really made our stay feel special. Thankyou All. Finally if you like walking and the outdoor life do find half a day to visit Rushmere Park, it's a beautiful place, trails to walk, two visitor centres with a cafe at both. Brilliant.

We got this hotel recommended during our business trip. Have to say it was not the best idea. The rooms were really small. Much smaller than I could imagine. Room itself was clean but quite old looking a very cold. But the temperature is subjective. These were probably the only days with snow. The continental breakfast could be potentially disappointing for somebody who is used for big tables with vegetables, ham, cheese etc. The English breakfast was ok. And the staff? Really helpful and nice to everybody.

This was a one night stay for a wedding close by but added to the weekend enjoyment. It has character, is clean and the rooms are very good. Breakfast was really good despite being a buffet! The staff were very attentive, a little brusque in the bar later in the evening but quite correct in their assertions perhaps could have been a little more 'helpful'.Overall very good with loads of parking.

We had a double room for 3 nights in a building across the road from the main hotel. On arrival, the receptionist was welcoming. The main door to the rooms was open all night & the room was cold. It was closed the next day when we asked for extra bedding, which we kept for the rest of the stay. On the second morning, there was no hot water. The maintenance man came promptly, showed courtesy & sorted it quickly. We missed having the room cleaned after that as it was late, despite leaving the request hanger on the handle. The room was clean. There was a bath & shower, both with powerful water pressure. The carpark is large. All in all, the staff worked hard to make our stay pleasant.

Well done for Becky Dee and the staff at Moore Place the whole evening was very well organised, food , service was very good and friendly staff, would definitely recommend this place for any event gatherings

I visited Moore Place Hotel this weekend. The only fault I can find is that it was so cold, reception was cold, the lounge area was cold and the bar was cold. Our bedroom Room 14 was so cold I asked to be moved. The receptionist Rebecca couldn't have been more helpful and we were soon given another room which was big, warmer and comfortable with a settee. The bed was spotless as was the bathroom. The dining experience wa good apart from the room temperature. I know there had been decorators in but it did spoil it somewhat and the meal,although well cooked and tasty was lukewarm. The waitress however couldn't have been friendlier. Breakfast was much better and Rebecca was on hand to suggest places to visit. Would I go again? Yes, It not until summer,

Stayed at this hotel for my boyfriends Birthday weekend. I booked this on Groupon and honestly was such a fantastic trip/deal. We are local to the area but it didnt feel like we were the hotel is so out the way and quiet - in a good way! I just wanted to ‘get away' and relax - and thats just what we did! We visited the nearby Woburn Safari during the day and checked in just after 2pm. Front desk were lovely, we stayed in room 69. Our room wasnt huge but was perfect all the same. Comfy bed although x1 pillow each and we normally have x2 but we used the bed cushions instead and that was fine! Nice decor, and a lovely touch of brandy for x2 in the room. Bathroom was clean and modern nice towels - the shower was SO good. We chilled all afternoon went for a walk and then got ready for dinner at the hotel restaurant (which ive left a seperate review for on the trip advisor page - the Greenhouse) and afterward headed back to the room.. Heard no noises and had a bliss sleep. Woke up and went for breakfast which was wonderful and then checked out - lovely lovely stay. Hotel from the outside looks idyllic and the grounds are picturesque. Helpful friendly staff, we will be back!

Enjoyed my 5 night stay staff are good and very helpful rooms are nice and cosy. Only two things that let the hotel down is - 1, on three nights the same drink at the same bar cost three different prices!! 2, the kitchen extractor fan exhaust blowing at room window till midnight very loud and smelly.

Had the pleasure of staying in Room 2 which of you can book in advance is well worth the money as it is roomy and has a four poster bed too. All the furniture is dark mahogany and free standing which just adds to the character of this charming venue. In the room there is a large flat screen TV, towelling robes x 2 with complimentary slippers, tea/ coffee making facility and a complimentary decanter containing enough brandy for two single shots which is just a great touch. If you require and iron and an ironing board you just need to ring reception and they will pop one up. I forgot to say that there is also a hairdryer too. The bathroom is clean and nothing special but fully functional to meet needs housing a free standing shower and a separate bath too. There is a small bar which is next to reception and the staff are friendly. It's a small cosy area. The dining room is situated just off the bar and again is extremely pleasant. The team are attentive and quick to serve. The food is delicious so a huge big up to the chef as my meals were amazing and they do not skimp either so plenty to fill you up. Breakfast is to order so cooked fresh and to your liking which is also another great touch. I recommend the salmon and scrambled eggs. All in all a great experience oh and WiFi is feee too. Fantastic Hotel, rooms were fantastic, large, lovely decor, very clean and everything you needed. Facilities were great, lovely dining area. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Very friendly and chatty receptionist. Food was outstanding with a good selection in the evening and also a fabulous breakfast selection to suit everybody.

A few days ago myself & several friends arranged to have Afternoon Tea. On arrival I went to reception to say we had booked tea for 2.30 the response was very half hearted then a waitress appeared who was very helpful & cheerful who took us to the room which was nicely set out with cakes & sandwiches but no teapot just jugs of hot water & teabags!! not what we had expected at all, two or three teapots would have been much more acceptable. The service went a little down hill as our waitress seemed to be the only one on duty & looking after the whole hotel not her fault but down to bad management. Having said all that we all enjoyed ourselves. I went to pay the bill & there was no "have you enjoyed yourselves "& hardly a thank you as we had spent over £200.00. I think Moore Place Hotel your front of house staff need to sort themselves out & realise that it is the customer that counts. Good service is worth so much but seems to be a dying art.

Quiet comfortable and staff at reception seemed friendly. One complaint I have is regarding staff at breakfast, or rather just one instance of misleading info. I was told that there is no vegetarian option for breakfast after having booked bed and breakfast, but learned later that that's not quite right. Not sure why I was misinformed.

Myself,two daughters and granddaughter attended a Murder Mystery evening put on by The Killing Game. The evening was very entertaining and the dinner was good. However I was very disappointed in the front of house service. I stayed with one daughter in a double ground floor room and noticed there was only one pillow each. I went to ring down to Reception for another pair of pillows however the room telephone did not work. We decided to ask for these on our way to the event. Passing Reception I asked the Receptionist if someone could take a pair of pillows to our room and her reply was that she could get two from the store behind the desk and I could take these to the room myself. I said that as we were about to go in to the Murder Mystery please could they please be taken to our room. She begrudgingly said she would do this. When we got back to the room that evening they were not there. I then went down to Reception where the night Receptionist was on duty and he immediately brought the pillows to our room. I also pointed out that the phone did not work, he tried it for himself and agreed that this was not acceptable. Also one light above the dressing mirror was not working. One other point was that when the Murder Mystery had ended we went in to the bar for a drink at the bar. The time was about 11.05 pm. Other guests were getting drinks as well. The bartender gave me our drinks and I wanted to pay by cash. He said this was not possible and I would have to put the cost of the drinks on the card which guaranteed the rooms. . I found this astonishing and have never stayed in an hotel where one could not pay for drinks by cash especially at such early time of evening. We will definitely be going to another Murder Mystery put on by this group of players but certainly not one held at this hotel.

We booked two rooms for two nights , chose the hotel for its proximity to Woburn Golf Club. We were not disappointed with our choice, we found the rooms very comfortable, the standard of cleanliness was excellent, staff were friendly and most helpful. We ate at the hotel both evenings, food was very enjoyable and portions were extremely generous. When we next play at Woburn we will definitely book our accommodation with Moore Place Hotel.

Now this is new to me things have to be pretty bad for me to take the effort to complain. But beware of this place especially when there is a wedding or function going on. We arrived at 2.45pm at the hotel and considering check in is at 2.00pm I expected to go straight to the room. Instead we arrived to chaotic scenes in the reception and told that we would have to wait and wait we did. Eventually got key at 4.10pm which did not work in the doors so after dragging cases to a rather scruffy annexe we had to turn around again to try to get access from a staff member. I was assured this wouldn't happen again but later that night we had the same problem and stood in the pooring rain for 15 minutes!! Great. The room 67 was small and had a massive problem with an extractor fan in the bathroom that never turned off and made a horrendous grinding noise making it difficult to sleep. The evening dinner was dreadful we were offered a dining slot if 9.10pm and at this point the dining room was nearly empty. The welcome was non existent and from the moment we arrived we felt rushed and in the way with staff packing away around us banging and clattering. My partner asked about how the salmon was served and she was told sarcastically it's a fish. A pink fish. Very rude indeed and as my partner is ex military and suffers from panic attacks and post traumatic stress it really upset her. The starters was acceptable but the main courses were poor and my partner could not eat hers it was so tough. She was offered a replacement but by this time we just wanted to leave. We just couldn't stand being In that pokey room with the fan so left at 5.45am without breakfast which we had paid for. When making a complaint to best western we were eventually offered £20 compensation. We did not accept this as it's an insult as it ruined our weekend. Worst hotel experience i have ever had and the company shows no care for its customers. Beware you can do much better elsewhere.

We stayed 2 nights (Friday and Saturday night). Firstly a warning to those trying to locate the hotel - it's easily missed, especially in the dark. We were meeting friends at the hotel and several (including us) drove right passed it and had to navigate back roads as our satnavs tried to make sense of what we had done. The hotel was comfortable - but the double room we had was small, and the bathroom very small. In it's favour - it was modern and clean, but we could hardly unpack very much without it being very cramped. The breakfast was great and very enjoyable - with good attentive service. The hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel itself was attractive with a long fascinating history.

Although tucked away between the M1 and the A5 this is a nice quiet place to stay. Good Best Western standard and very attentive staff. The reat5aurant evening did not excite, so decided to book a table at the Wheatsheaf pub across the road. Best choice we have ever made. Hotel Breakfast was good and again very attentive staff. Will definitely come again.

Cheap and well fitted out hotel. Great food at reasonable prices and easy to get to places such as Bletchley Park and Woburn Safari Park. Bathrooms are spacious and the rooms are clean and tidy with a decent bed. This place would suit business trips.

My room was clean and contained a surprise brandy offering that was a nice touch but I didn't try it go see if it was genuine. The location is handy for the M1 and the breakfast was a bit priced at £12.50 but was ok.

We stayed here on a groupon deal over the weekend in the annex accomodation. We were checked in by a lovely friendly lady on reception quickly and easily. The room was lovely and clean, with lovely huge white towels.Our evening meal was included in the price and all three courses were tasty and of good portion size.Breakfast the next day was waitress service but cerials ,toast, fruit and coffee were self service.Our breakfasts were plentyful and tasty apart from the orange juice which was awful. On the Sunday it was buffet breakfast but again very tasty. The staff in the dining room were really friendly and couldnt do enough for you.We had sandwiches and drinks before we left, again the food was lovely and reasonably priced. I wouldnt hesitate to book this hotel again even without a groupon deal.

We booked this hotel as we wanted to visit Woburn safari nearby. We stayed in the main building on the top floor facing the front of the building. I would say the room was disappointing based on the pictures shown when booking was being made. Wasn't a horrible room but not what we was expecting. Rooms are very hot, windows only open a fraction. This made for a very uncomfortable hot nights sleep. And as room was at the front we was awoken very early by the morning glass collection, and early morning traffic. Staff were friendly but not super engaging. Lovely Thai restaurant next door blue orchid. Enjoyed a night here and a drink in the garden. Set in a lovely village.

Stayed for a night on a business trip, found the hotel very convenient to junction 13 of the M1. I was allocated a room in the Cottages, room was large with a super king size bed, large tv, free wifi and luxurious bathroom. The icing on the cake was the complimentary tot of brandy for a night cap. I ate in the restaurant which was ok, however there is an Thai/Indian restaurant next to the hotel and a pub in short walking distance. A beautiful peaceful village setting, a hotel that I will definitely stay at again.

Stopped overnight for to attend a wedding. Our accommodation was in what I believe they call the chalets. Very comfortable room with a huge bathroom though was rather disappointed to find no shower. The complimentary brandy in the room is a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were excellent, though the night staff struggled to man the bar and the reception so the queue was huge and we missed out on a night cap.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights as we were going to a wedding in Woburn. On arrival, the staff were helpful and friendly and we were soon in our comfortable room (15) on the second floor which was clean and a reasonable size. However, I noticed a low frequency rumble that I attributed to the kitchen extract fan on the ground floor and assumed it would not be running once the kitchen had closed so thought no more of it. However, when we went to bed just before midnight, the rumble was still present and given everything else was quiet, seemed to be much more noticeable. I rang the night porter who said he'd go and look to see if he could rectify the problem. After 10 minutes, he rang back and said everything he could turn off in the kitchen was off but there were some things left running that he had to leave. He did say we could switch rooms immediately but I declined given that we were both in bed by now and said I'd talk to reception in the morning. So, after a disturbed night, I mentioned it to reception and we were switched to the bridal suite which was fine. All other aspects of the hotel are good, even though the bar area is brightly lit and somewhat impersonal, so I would stay here again but make sure I avoided the kitchen wing!

Together with my wife we had a very pleasant weekend at this hotel. On arrival we were greeted very warmly by Rebecca who could not have been more helpful. Our room , in the main building, was pleasant and very clean with usual bathroom features. We took dinner and breakfast, which was cooked to order therefore very fresh and tasty. The hotel is located in a very small village but because of the poor weather we were unable to experience the peaceful atmosphere of the garden.

Impressive! Warm welcome, staff very friendly and efficient, room beautifully clean and dinner tasty and well cooked. The vegetables were actually edible instead of being underdone as so many chefs feel they should be! Would definitely return if in this part of the world.

We booked this hotel as it was close to woburn safari park. And when we arrived were very pleased with the look and greeting we received. The room was a good size with a large bathroom with a bath and shower. The bed was large and. Comfortable. We stayed in the main building and was lovely and quiet. Breakfast was between 8 and 11am and was just what we needed for a busy day with full english and continental. Overall we would definitely be staying here again.

We stayed in the main building, we didn't get there until the evening however the staff were very friendly and welcoming, our room was lovely and comfortable and clean, the breakfast was delicious and the service was great. Little touches like the top of Brandy was really appreciated, especially after a long drive in the cold and wet. Great stay for a day at the safari park as it's 5mins away.

Rooms are nice I stayed in the main house but they also have rooms in other buildings. Facilities are good and rooms a good size. Breakfast is all you need, great for an overnight stay or a short break.

Got a good rate by booking through trip advisor. We were accommodated in a cottage annexe room which was away from main hotel. Large bathroom and quaint room. Not much of a view and there are steep steps leading down to rooms. Car park available. Good breakfast. Friendly reception staff.

Poor quality for price, rooms are very average, dead bug in bathroom, toilets in restaurant aria not cleaned from night before, Breakfast quality poor for the price. Staff not as helpful as one would have hoped.

Our Verdict after a one night stay. Location good to find, car parking was good. The hotel is at an excellent location. Reception and all Staff excellent. Our room: Was clean, spacious, well appointed, 2 chairs, comfortable bed, Bathroom was clean, plenty of spaces to put things, good shower which was clean, easy to use, no leaks anywhere. Sleeping was good. A very quiet location. No noises from anywhere throughout the night. Dining room (Continental Breakfast) good, choice was good, quantity as much as you wanted. We thought it was very good value for money and would definitely use again.

Stayed here for a night to break up a family trip to Woburn safari park. Plenty of parking and a peaceful village. The hotel is clean, tidy and modern. The staff are young, friendly and extremely polite and welcoming. We ate in the bar for convenience as it was quiet. We have a young son who is coeliac, we asked a member of staff regarding the menu who promptly returned with a copy of he menu clearly marked by the chef the items available. It was refreshing to see that the chef was more than happy to slightly alter some dishes to accommodate our son. Fantastic service. The food is all freshly cooked and very nice. We had a family room (number 24) that was spacious and comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of options including Gluten free bread, again full credit to the chef for checking the items that my son could and couldn't have. Very convenient location for Woburn Abbey.

not bad hotel. We stayed in room 30, nice big room but very dark, dark brown walls and dark brown carpet with 2 small Window's. No air con & even with the Windows open it was boiling. We just stayed room only as breakfast was extortionate £12.95 yes it was all you can eat but what if you only eat small, toast and coffee very over priced. We didn't eat at the hotel even for bar food as the receptionist said she wasn't sure they served food at 4pm. We went over the road to a lovely pub called the anchor where the food & staff were fantastic.

Looking for a hotel near to Evereshot as attending a wedding reception there and came across Best Western Moore Place in Apsley Guise. Apsley Guise off J13 of M1 towards Woburn. Stayed in the Cottages, which is a self-contained annex up the drive from main reception. Cottages has 8 rooms across 2 floors. Rooms were large for the price paid £75 for B&B. Complimentary Brandy in room and the usual tea / coffee amenities. Reception staff excellent as had couple of issues with first room, so was transferred to another room without any hassle. Breakfast - choice of just continental or full English. Full English cooked to order - very nice - set up nicely for the rest of the day. Will be staying here again.

We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at Moore Place, Aspley Guise. It was a totally amazing day from start to finish, we could not have asked for more!! I have to give a huge thank you to Jessica, our Wedding Co-ordinator, she has been amazing with all our wedding preparations and been so helpful to us. From staying there the night before, getting ready for the wedding, leaving all our wedding décor bits for Moore Place to deal with too, it was all stress free thanks to Jessica. The wedding breakfast was excellent, all our guests have commented to us since how lovely the food was at the wedding breakfast and the evening reception. Everything was just perfect for our day. I can highly recommend the hotel for any such occasion. Thanks again to everyone at Moore Place!!! It will be day we will never forget and our guests are still talking about what a lovely day and venue it was!!

My partner and I stayed here on whilst visiting Silverstone for Moto GP. The receptionist was really friendly and chatty and asked how our weekend was going. Our room was beautifully decorated with plenty of space and a huge TV! We had a lovely view of trees through our windows. The bathroom was nice and very clean but the toilet seat had a mind of its own. The bed was extremely comfortable and we really didn't want to get up on the morning. We could have done with an extra pillow or two but that's just personal preference. Next time we will stay there for two nights as we really enjoyed our stay.

Spent a night here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel is in a nice village, close to Woburn, Bletchley and plenty of small villages. Check in was quick, friendly and efficient and our room was clean and spacious. It was well furnished and comfortable - a cooler was provided so that the room did not get too hot. We had dinner in the Greenhouse restaurant. This was a lovely environment, laid back, classy and calm. The food was lovely and the servers were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was excellent - a hot buffet from which you could make up a very substantial full English. Again, lovely serving staff and a nice atmosphere. A really pleasant stay and would not hesitate to visit again.

We stayed for one night only due to a wedding in the area. The hotel itself was lovely. The room was nice, just enough space. The bathroom was also nice with a shower and deep bath, toiletries were provided. the weather was particularly hot during our stay bit the hotel provided fans in the room which i thought was really great. There was space to hang clothes and store bags which was good. Very clean and comfortable. Our room was on the road facing part of the hotel and the noise wasn't to disrupting. Breakfast was lovely, variety of things to choose from. Only disappointment was the lady on reception when checking in chewing gum loudly whilst talking to us and failed to explain why £20 was being taken from our account and we therefor had to ask another member of staff, who was more helpful. Over all a nice overnight stay and breakfast. Would return if in the area again.

We got married on 15 July 2017 and had our reception at moor place hotel it was a truly Wonderful day with lovely food and lovely staff everyone was so nice. we would like to thank Jessica and all her team for all their hard work in making our day so special Keith and rebecca

We stayed for 3 nights at the Best Western Moore Place Hotel, in Aspley Guise, from Tuesday 15th August. We booked through Travelzoo because they had a special offer to include a standard double room, full English breakfast and a 3 course evening meal with a glass of prosecco each. It was exceptionally good value. Our room was good, the breakfast was good and the evening meal was very very good. It seemed to be better than the advertised Travelzoo offer as there was a special Travelzoo menu with around 5 choices for each course, and coffee. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. The village of Aspley Guise is small and pretty and there is a railway station only 15 minutes walk from the hotel where you can catch a train to Bletchley, if you wish to visit Bletchley Park, which we did, or Bedford, in the opposite direction. We will definitely visit this hotel again if there is a similar offer next Spring.

Great hotel situated in a pretty village for a family stay. Excellent breakfast. Would use again if revisiting the area. Close to Woburn safari park and milton keynes. Staff professional and room clean.

My colleague and I were booked in here by our suppliers and an evening never to forget ensued... The check-in staff were great, welcoming, pleasant and efficient. My room in the annex was modern, clean and comfy. The bathroom spacious and well lit. The bar was busy, but staff were scarce. 3 times we had to chase around to find bar-staff to serve us from 18:30-19:00 and after our (off-site) evening meal from 21:00 - 23:00. Staff advised us that they had other tasks to complete ('collecting the linen' and 'laying out the breakfast room'). Surely that could be done after residents had retired? It greatly detracted from the overall experience tbh. There was a very unfortunate episode when a fight (not a scuffle), broke out between a thirsty resident and the re-appearing barman who had been gone on a break for 10-25 mins (depending on who you spoke to). Him being the only staff member on site was not good, on any level. Breakfast was adequate and average. Staff were friendly and helpful. I'd give it another chance as it might have been an off day!

Well run friendly stay. Staff could be more engaging and proactive we were not asked about our stay and offered choices available, but overall a pleasant stay. will definitely recommend and would be happy to return. it was a good experience

A lovely location in a quaint village. Room was quite basic but was also well priced. It was very clean and quiet. Could do with an update and have slept in more comfortable beds. Friendly staff and service. Excellent Thai and Indian restaurant 1 minute away.

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a night away for our first anniversary and we came to Moore Place. Basically it was nice and we had a good time, but there were a few niggles. Our main issue was that we were not told there was a wedding on that day. We had decided to have a nice, relaxed little anniversary meal in the lounge area, which looked attractive and inviting. When we got there it was packed full of wedding guests and we felt we shouldn't be there. The lovely girls on reception were at great pains to assure us we were welcome and it was still open to all guests, but we felt uncomfortable, like we were crashing the party. We tried the village pub but that was rammed and we got the car out and tried 3 other local places, all completely full. In the end our anniversary meal was room service! If we had been given some advance warning we could have made a reservation somewhere else. It was a bit of a shame. The room (58) itself was sweet - very tiny but nicely decorated and clean, with touches like complimentary whisky which my husband enjoyed. Unfortunately the room was extremely noisy as it was also directly opposite the kitchen fan. This didn't bother me too much because I quite like white noise type sounds but some people would have found it intolerable. Even for me it was loud. It went off at 9:30pm but was back on by the time I woke up. Finally breakfast. It was very nice but at £12.50 on top of our room, not what I would call value for money. For the price of a main evening meal I would expect top quality ingredients and choice. I liked that poached eggs were included in the buffet but the sausages and bacon were obviously cheap caf-style basics which is not impressive for the price. All in all it was a fairly good stay, but not great value for money and not special. The price appears to have gone down since we booked (!) which is fairer. We would return but ONLY for a lower price and ONLY if there was not a wedding on.

Stayed here a couple of times now. This is a pleasant hotel in a lovely little village near Milton Keynes. Rooms are a little dated but clean and comfortable. Staff are always interactive and cheerful. Food is a little 'chain' basic and bland but wholesome and appeared to be cooked fresh. Not a lot of car parking so if you arrive later in the day it may be full and is quite a steep upward slope to get back to your car. Will stay there again.

We stayed one night as we were attending a wedding at the venue. We arrived at 3pm and although check in was 2pm we were informed that our room was not ready and would not be ready for at least 45minutes. I was initially unhappy, until the lady on reception advised me that we had in fact been upgraded... for free...to the four poster room! Well, clearly I was now happy to wait and enjoy a drink at the bar while waiting. On arrival to our room we were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room, the huge four poster bed, comfy armchairs and various other additional things like bathrobes. Lovely sized bathroom with shower and bath, but not very impressed that there is no curtains or blind in the bathroom to cover the large window, just a net curtain. This meant that when u put the bathroom light on people in the rooms opposite would clearly be able to see you?? Apart from this I could not really fault the room. Breakfast in the morning was from 8-11am and we found it perfectly adequate for buffet self service. Hot n cold, fruits, cereals toast etc something for everyone. Overall ideal for an overnight stay as wedding guests We did also see a standard double room on the other side of the main building and they seemed perfectly adequate n clean .

Stayed yesterday for 1 night on the Travelzoo deal and the reception staff couldn't have been more helpful. Comfortable room and nice dinner. Only 10minutes from Woburn Abbey and safari park... Well worth it

The staff were friendly and the seating areas in the bar area seemed well kept but from then on I was disappointed. The room seemed like it hadn't been cleaned, it was incredibly tiny for two people, the bathroom had no lock on the door, anyone could look through the window into the room (on the ground floor) and the car park was so small it was constantly a battle to find a parking space.

Arrived one hour AFTER check in time - room hadn't been touched since the last guest moved out - dirty towels on the bathroom floor and bed untouched with dirty sheets still on. I had the wedding dress that I wanted to "plump" up but was told by the room attendants to "hang it up and we will work round it". I don't think so! The following day our guests were arriving around 1 o'clock for a 2 o'clock wedding. 61 guests queuing at the bar for a drink with only one bar attendant. Mother of the bride wanted a glass of water - didn't get one! Evening buffet - first lot of food bought out but never replenished. Guests walked away hungry and groom wondered what exactly he had paid for. Left to the father of the bride to go into the kitchen and ask if there was more food. He was told there was loads in the kitchen! Short of herding guests through the kitchen, maybe it would have been a good idea to keep an eye on the food requirements. More food was bought out eventually but no plates. Again, we had to go back to the kitchen and ask. Breakfast not much better. Ran out of eggs, bread and butter. Had to repeated ask for these to be bought out.

My wife and I decided to have a short break before our new baby arrives. I wanted to surprise her and booked the manor room with a four poster bed. Amy, whom arranged the final details was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and even had some flowers waiting for my wife, in our bedroom, on arrival. We arrived, and was given our keys by Elle. She was smiling, and genuine. Explained where our room was and what to do if we need anything. We went straight to the room and it was beautiful. Huge space, nice sized bathroom, with bath and stand up shower, separate. Some people mentioned in their reviews that it's dated. I don't feel that. I think because it is a Georgian mansion, and it is a manor room, that the decor reflects that. We certainly loved it. We had drinks in the bar and decided to eat at the Blue Orchid upon recommendation of Amy. I have left a review for this separately. The following morning, I went to the front desk, and it was so lovely to meet Amy and another lady (glasses and was wearing a black jacket/blazer). It was great speaking with these ladies, who showed a genuine interest and nothing was too much for them. The only reason I've awarded 4 stars and not 5 stars was service at breakfast. The food quality was lovely, good cooked food, thick slices of bacon, nice sausages, choice of how eggs were cooked, choices of drinks too, all inclusive of having breakfast with your room. However, I'm sorry to say the service given by a lady called Sally was poor. She didn't smile, she didn't acknowledge the tables as my wife had to get up to ask for a pot of tea when she should have came over and asked us. When she did bring it, she spilt it on the table, so whilst eating, we had to watch her clean up. On the whole I would recommend to stay here and all the staff except one were fantastic and nothing too much for them. Certainly be staying here again. Stayed here for 1 night for work. My room was in the cottages, lovely room, Excellent shower, very clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful especially at breakfast. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. Didn't explore surroundings but all looked pretty. Wasted on business customers, ideal for a wedding or romantic weekend. Big car park.

The hotel is what you would expect from a 4* chain. It's clean, comfortable bed, the shower is good and the staff are friendly and can't do enough for you. I'd sum this hotel up as comfortable at a reasonable price.

My wife and I checked in on Monday Evening to stay for one night and attend a wedding nearby in Milton Keynes. I have not visited before but i have heard many positive comments about the City. We were greeted by a very polite young lady on reception by the name of 'Ellie', she was very sweet and understanding about our needs and ever so helpful with providing information about the hotel and was kind enough to print us off some directions to the shopping centre. She made us feel very welcome and is a real credit to the company. it was lovely to see staff so attentive and caring, despite the hot weather. Our hotel room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was cooked well and proper. There are some negative reviews about the hotel however I believe that it is a overall very good stay, with traditional ways of doing things, which you can identify from the start. I took my partner out for a meal we wanted somewhere special and this place fitted the bill. The meal was brilliant all food was freshly cooked and had great service by Alex in the bar afterwards. Would highly recommend a visit to this hotel.

It was difficult to judge the hotel by the TripAdvisor reviews, some really good, others bad. My experience was good, had a room at the main hotel building, it was a large size, and with all the necessary things, and well maintained. Breakfast buffet is really average - no passion in the food or preparation. Overall a good stay.

Stayed here for a wedding in one of the manor rooms, the room was nice but possibly a bit dated. The 4 poster bed creaked like crazy with the tiniest movement. The bathroom was again nice but as mentioned in some other reviews a big window with a net curtain is a bit off putting when you are sat on a toilet "locking eyes" almost with other guests outside in the garden (its not really see through but its a bit weird) the shower could've been better the head wasn't really adjustable and it was powerful so you had the choice of getting in and getting blasted for a few seconds with cold water or flooding the bathroom trying to jump in. The rooms are very noisy I could hear talking, walking and doors closing all night, luckily I was only here for 2 nights and on both I was incredibly intoxicated so it was fine. Staff bent over backwards to assist our group in the bar and even brought out cutlery and plates when we turned up at 2am with pizza. They were also very helpful at breakfast. I would say its a good hotel for a weekend or a night out but I couldnt've done a week here on business when I actually needed a good nights sleep because of the noisy rooms.

Despite booking 2 months ago and asking for a 'nice room with a good view' because it was a special birthday, our room had a solid wall of green hedge right outside, making it necessary to have the lights on all the time and no view. We booked through an on-line booking site, not direct with the hotel, so maybe they don't read the special requests. We had a few little niggles which overall didn't add up to a good experience. For instance, there were no parasols over outdoor tables, making it impossible to sit outside to have a drink in the recent heatwave, nor was there any air con. The bar area is fairly austere and a bit gloomy, and the restaurant is in a hot conservatory. We ate in the hotel only 1 night, because we didn't feel it offered much choice for a summer's evening. There were problems with programming our room key, but that was sorted out eventually. There were cornflakes all over the carpet by the breakfast table one morning which had been spilled, but which nobody thought to clear away, even though they weren't busy. There was only one chair in our double room and no table - we would rather have been able to sit down than to have a drink of complimentary brandy. A shame, because individually the staff were very pleasant, and the hotel is in a good location.

Wasn't asked if needed assistance with my luggage even though had to climb 3 flights of stairs. Wasn't untill I returned to my room at 11.30.pm.,that I realised I could not use the bathroom as there was only a net curtain at the window. Had to hang all towels over curtain wire just to go to the toilet without being seen. Really loud teenage music playing at breakfast. On booking out,wasn't asked if everything was O.K. during my stay I chose this beautiful hotel because it belongs to the Best Western group.I will never trust them to see to their customer needs! Have been trying to get a refund for not being able to bath or shower, for over 2 months. Been given ridiculous excuses. 1.I should have reported the incident at the time and I could change rooms.No,I shouldnt have been given this room in the first place.The same incident had already been reported previously. I wasn't prepared to pack up all my luggage again at nearly midnight, when I'd got a 6hr.train journey in the morning! I just wanted a relaxing bath. 2.Told couldn't be seen through net curtain and it wasn't over looked anyway. I informed them that when a light is on,you can see straight through a net curtain and that a proper curtain could run on the same wire as a net!I also sent a photo showing the road and houses from my window as they said I couldn't be seen as it overlooked the garden. Neither the hotel or Best Western are accepting my complaint so I am being advised by Trading standards.

I've stayed here many times but not in the recent past. There's been some improvements made which made for a pleasant stay. Staff are friendly and my room was okay despite being in the annex which means you get caught in the rain if you're unlucky to be there when it's raining. Breakfast seems to alternate between cooked to order and buffet breakfast which isn't as good. This visit was the buffet service. Overall a decent place to stay.

This hotel is in a lovely setting. We had booked for 4 nights. When we arrived, (as previously arranged, around 10pm) we were allocated a 'double' room. It was so small that we could not put our cases anywhere on the floor, the TV did not work and there was nowhere in the bathroom for our toiletries - I had to put mine on the floor by the toilet. We told reception we were not at all happy with the room but were told that there was nowhere else available and there was no senior manager on duty (even though a wedding reception was running late into the night). The member of staff sent to us could not get the TV working which did not please my husband as he had missed the cup final due to a family function and wanted to watch the highlights. I eventually managed to rescan the TV and get it working - surely this is something the member of staff should have been able to do? The room was very stuffy and we could not use the air circulator fan as it was so noisy it kept us awake - but when we opened the window we had the traffic noise from the road just outside. The sound proofing was poor because we could hear voices from adjoining rooms plus every time they ran any water it sounded loudly in our room. But worse was yet to come - at 2am SOMEONE LET THEMSLEVES INTO OUR ROOM with a key card. My husband shouted at them and they withdrew, stating this was the room number on their card. We immediately phoned reception who were no help at all and just stated that there was no manager on duty. Needless to say, we saw a manager in the morning who apologised profusely for all the problems and she did move us to a room which was of the standard we would have expected. I was on the point of booking somewhere else but we decided to stay. The manager said she would not charge us for the first night with all the problems but when we checked out no reduction had been made on the bill. This was sorted when I refused to pay for anything at all. The breakfasts left something to be desired. Only on 1 day of the 4 we stayed there, did they manage to get it right. On the other days, people had to keep asking for bowls, plates, cutlery - and they seemed to have a problem with giving out butter. They dished it out when requested with just two small triangles for 2 people - enough for one slice of toast - and we had to keep asking for more. One day the receptionist was telling people breakfast ran till 11am, whilst the chef was saying he was finishing at 10am ....... I also noticed there were no tongs for people to take bread, rolls, croissants etc and some of the fruit was past its best. I would say that all the staff were very pleasant and tried their best to help, but the whole hotel seemed to suffer from a lack of proper management. I have submitted a complaint to Best Western Hotels and received a response from the hotel with apologies but no proper explanation of their poor service. Given our experiences, I could not recommend it to anyone else and would not stay there again.

Just stayed here with my parents. Better than expected for a three star. Lovely large clean bedrooms and good restaurant. Very friendly helpful staff. Set in a wonderful village location. Ideal location for Woburn. Only downside was no air con which could be an issue during the summer.

A nice welcoming hotel, good parking, and well positioned in a nice village. We had room 2, which was well appointed and made for an enjoyable stay. Breakfast was good and the bar meal we had was excellent.

Arrived at 7am, waited 25 mins for order to be taken - despite chasing, then breakfast request not listened too, very poor. Overnight room was ok, room clean tidy and warm. Don't know if restaurant runs same as breakfast, but wouldn't risk it!

Booked into a cottage in the hotel for an overnight stay. Pluses-nice big room, fairly quiet location, plenty of hot water. Minuses-I was downstairs in the cottage and the upstairs was very noisy, even walking around sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. Never experienced anything quite like it in a hotel before. On arriving back in the hotel around 9pm there was only one car parking space left, not sure if they have extra, but bear this in mind. Curtain was hanging off the rail and the mattress certainly needed replacing, it had seen some use! If in the area again I would choose another hotel and certainly advise against the cottages, just because of the noise.

Having been invited to a wedding and staying overnight I first found the Hotel different. The mattress on our bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the bed sheet was torn in the top right hand corner, overall I could only say average

We stayed here whilst in the area for a family wedding. We changed our booking at the last minute from one to two nights and therefore had to change our twin room for a double. I only mention this now as it will become a minor point later. The hotel has a bar and restaurant and all the public areas were very clean, beautifully furnished and decorated and well lit. It offers free parking and the wifi signal was very good in all the areas we used it. We received a very warm welcome from Lewis on reception when we arrived at 1.00 pm. Our room wasn't ready but the hotel kept our luggage for us whilst we went for a walk in the surrounding area. The hotel has two 'areas'. The main hotel building and a separate building, which are known as 'cottages'. This confused us originally when booking online, but it became clearer when we got there. Our room was situated in the main building and was on the ground floor, though there were steps up to it in the corridor. It was very clean and comfortable and nicely furnished. The room was of a good standard with a desk and seat and separate armchair. It had a flat screen TV, plenty of plug sockets and a great hair-dryer! It was nice to be able to charge our phones etc. without having to unplug the items already in the room. There was plenty of space to hang and store clothes and a couple of good sized mirrors. It was well lit with two sash windows that opened and curtains that blocked out the light should you so wish. The bathroom was very clean, well lit and had a bath and shower over the bath. The shower was powerful and there was plenty of hot water. There were only two minor niggles for us. One was that the bed was small for a 'double'. I didn't have a tape measure, but I'm sure it wasn't a standard 4ft 6 bed and because of that we felt cramped and didn't sleep as well as we might. However, as I mentioned at the beginning we made a last minute change to our booking so this was the result of that change. The other minor item was that, although there seemed to be an extraction fan in the corner of the bathroom ceiling. it didn't appear to work so the room got quite steamy when showering and didn't clear any odours as quick as it could have. Usually the extraction fan comes on with the light, but maybe it worked differently? We ate in the restaurant the first evening and the food was very good. I had the Braised Lamb and my husband the Chicken in Mushroom and Tarragon followed by Pavlova and the homemade Tiramisu. All the food was well cooked, nicely presented and good value for money. We thought the drinks were a little overpriced, but that's what you expect in a hotel. There are pubs and other establishment in the village, should you not want to eat at the hotel. Breakfast for our stay was a buffet. We went down to breakfast at 9.00 am. (they stop serving at 9.30 am) as we wanted a late breakfast because we knew we would not be eating again until the early afternoon. The breakfast, including drinks and toast is completely self-service. We thought the buffet was a bit limited. 3 cereal choices, a few pastries and some fresh fruit and yoghurt. Most of the hot serving dishes were empty or nearly empty. I had the last rasher of bacon, some tomatoes and a very hard sausage. A passing member of staff said I could order eggs from the kitchen as they had reduced bringing food out as it was nearing the closing time. So I ordered two poached eggs. Tea and coffee came from flasks on the side, which was dire. It wasn't the best breakfast we'd had ever had and at all the other Best Western hotels we have stayed in they 'cook to order' the hot breakfast, but it was adequate. However at £25.00 for two additional cost, we didn't bother the next day. Check out was a bit erratic as 'their system was down' and apparently there was no paperwork to check our rate or what we had consumed whilst we had been there. Joanne? dealt with it very well though and should be congratulated on what must have been a nightmare situation for her. Eventually we paid for the food from the receipts to hand with the agreement that she would invoice us by email for the room etc. when she could confirm the rate. Hopefully that will all go as planned. The hotel is nicely situated in a lovely village, which has a train station. For us it was perfectly located. We would stay here again but next time try to get a deal with breakfast included! We found all the staff we encountered friendly and efficient. We would recommend Moore Place and would certainly stay here again.

Here with a large group, our package included dinner of 4 courses. The evening meal was excellent, the quantity just right and the quality great. Breakfast was fine as a buffet meaning that one could pick and choose to your hearts content. The rooms, well the space was fine, the bed was OK, bit of a back ache though. The problem was the windows and the heating, managed to open one of the double glazed windows, this was filthy with black mould due to condensation. However we enjoyed ourselves as the staff were great. Once they were told that two bulbs had died in our bathroom they were very quickly replaced, not the sort of service that is available everywhere these days!

Stayed a few times, all rooms I have been in are very well appointed, the rooms in the cottage are very nice. The restaurant food is ok although they don't always have all the items on the menu. Breakfast again is ok with good choice. It would appear that they always run under staffed, particularly annoying is the time waiting to find someone to offer you a table in the restaurant equally as a challenging is finding someone to give you the restaurant bill.. Overall a ok place to stay but room for improvement in the service and food.

We celebrated our wedding here on 24th March and had a fantastic time. Jess and the hotel staff were very attentive made sure everything went smoothly and to plan. The venue was just perfect for us, the bridal suite was amazing and the food was delicious. For the most part plates were left spotless. The only complaint I have is about the DJ and not the venue. He arrived late and kept commenting over the PA about how he was playing to the Brides requests, and would then play remixes of my requests that were awful, and then made digs later that he had good remixes but was not allowed to play them! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the amazing venue but I would encourage people to shop about for a DJ, or just not be as picky as me!

Have stayed here before when in the area on business. Very pleasant check in, large room and large bathroom that contained a full size bath and separate shower cubicle with plenty of hot water. The only complaint I had about the bathroom was the lack of curtains or blind for the window, it had a net curtain but faced the road and houses opposite and at night with the light on I'm sure you would be able to see in, as I didn't want to frighten anybody, I hung a bath sheet over the curtain wire. Being in the main house the floor was creaky so I apologise if there was anyone below. Dinner service was very pleasant and the rump of lamb was very tender, although the food as a whole could have been hotter. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, it was buffet style and tea and coffee was self service, seeing a large bowl of teabags and another bowl of used teabags by the side reminded me of a cut price all inclusive on the continent. The orange juice tasted of very weak orange cordial, in fact I found it undrinkable. Whilst I am not against buffets when paying for B & B I do expect some form of service not just clearing the dirty plates, having said that the quality of the cooked food was good, including poached eggs, which you rarely see on a buffet, which were hot and had runny yolks. Check out was good all in all a pleasant stay.

We stayed yeah I went on a three day trip to Kensington Palace, Bletchley Park and Waddeston Manor. The accommodation is good and we enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is very popular and stay was made more interesting A veteran MG car club was also staying at the hotel. We would stay there again.

Stayed here for 5 nights.Room was very spacious and bed was very comfortable.You get complimentary brandy in your room which is a nice touch from the owner.Food and service in the restaurant was great.

We stayed here for one night when we had no hot water or heating for 4 days and nights due to a broken gas pipe. The booking (online) was seamless, the room on arrival was clean and warm (much needed)and reception staff couldn't be more obliging. We couldn't dine in the restaurant due to a function but were offered a bar meal and given plenty of information about times and menu. The room was quiet, which surprised us as the function went on late. So overall we were happy with the room, service and price we paid.

My daughter's wedding breakfast and evening party were held here. The organisation was poor. Several issues occurred before the big day, personnel changes, promises made and broken. The hotel's performance over the weekend was dismal, from guests being booked into the wrong rooms, given keys to dirty rooms, the wrong meal being served at the wedding breakfast, no MC, painfully slow meal service, etc. The management response to the more than 80 (yes, eighty) items listed in the original complaint has been to ignore the majority of issues, minimise others and even to make statements that are (provably) untrue, so evidence is now being collated for the court case. There were additional minor issues that we didn't even bother to list. The problems seem to be caused by 1) taking on more business than they could cope with, and 2) inadequately trained staff. The few that were around were mostly from the "Nothing to do with me. It's someone else's problem/I'm only a temp" variety. The result was way below any reasonable expectations.

Booked a particular room months in advance. Received what I believed was an agreement from the booking staff that I had booked it. Refused it by the check-in staff who outrageously announced that -- "No, you can't book a particular room, just the grade of room" These guys need to get their act together. And while they're at it they could change the burnt-out light bulbs occasionally.

My son got married at this hotel.Let me say the staff are very helpful and friendly.Unfortunately the organisation of the event was beyond awful.The hotel had managed to book two weddings over one weekend.They said they only have one event each weekend.This put pressure on us because the ceremony room could not be accessed until two hours prior to the event for dressing the room. The evening do was was great apart from having to chase the buffet.Get more food which we did not order.Finally they ran out of beer.I ask you at a wedding.

Been here before so booked our favourite room. Shame the booking staff didn't record the booking. Got allocated a different room. Told there's no guarantee when booking a room that you'll get the room you have specifically booked! Talked down to by desk staff that it was somehow our fault for expecting what we reserved. Left the hotel quite pissed off hence this write-up.

A lovely stay, great (but I agree with others a little dated) room at the front of the main building and the staff were brilliant, especially as the restaurant was literally full and yet the staff still found time for me as an individual traveller. If you need a hairdryer you have to ask at reception as there wasn't in the room, luckily I noticed the night before and popped down to reception rather than when I needed this the next morning! I thought the small decanter (with Brandy) was a quaint touch in the room, although I passed on this as I had a very busy trip ahead! I got a good deal hence I think good value, but I wouldn't have paid near their full price - I stay in this area a lot so without a deal I wouldn't be back from a value point of view.

We stayed here recently as part of a weekend away. Got a deal on a well known hotel website which turned out to be £10 more than the hotel charged directly. We requested a large bed room which we got and the room was huge, it just felt a bit tired and stuck in late 80's/early 90's. Complementary whiskey in room upon arrival. Didn't use restaurant and quite pricey so visited a local Italian restaurant instead (see my other reviews) and breakfast was £14 a head so ate elsewhere for that too. On a positive, it was quiet and clean and staff were friendly too. Conservatory area had a bad leak in the rain but didn't effect our stay. Plenty of parking which was free too. Would stay again if in the area, just needs a good update inside.

I had a room booked for a meeting which then got cancelled. I understand that the room was booked at a special 'non refundable rate'. However, my meeting got postponed by a week at the last minute so I had no need for the room and wanted to move it back by 1 week. This has happened to me before at other hotels and other places have been understanding and just moved the booking. I now have a room paid for at £98 which I cant use ! Safe to say, I will not be staying here next week, nor ever again. Its really not that nice anyway

Stayed here before many times. It's a bit of a lottery what standard of room you get. Some are very good whilst others not so good. This stay my room was fine. Restaurant serves nice food and cooked breakfast really good. Some mornings it's only a buffet breakfast. Overall nice stay

What looks like an lovely imposing building from the outside, certainly disappoints when you walk through the door. The decor is dated and lacks style and grandeur. Is in desperate need of a make over. Staff seem a little like rabbits in head lights and never quite know how to deal with a request; for example; if someone has booked their function room then there is no more food served in the bar, but you could still order room service (well how about if you're not actually staying at the hotel and have just popped in to eat? - do you eat it sat on the staircase then and that's ok?- the function isn't in the bar, so why can't you eat it there? What's the issue? The kitchen being unable to cope or location of eating? No one knows!) The food itself is fine. It's not going to win any awards but it's simple and fills a hole, can't complain. This hotel has so much potential if only it would raise the bar on decor, ambience and service.

We stayed for 1 night on Saturday and the hotel seemed to be busy with a wedding party or two. Check in was good and room nice and quiet with all expected facilities. So far so good. Ordered mid afternoon food from the bar and service Ok although we had to wait to order as no one was manning the bar until we asked. Food was Ok. We went out for the evening and then straight to our room when we got back. Nice quiet room and decent sleep. Got up for Breakfast on Sunday morning, Went down around 9.20am. There was a queue to be seated for breakfast and no one organising!! The restaurant was clearly not large enough for the number of staying guests. We waited (with no communication) for around 20 mins to be seated then to be told we would have to share a table with other diners we didn't know...very Odd. We were seated but the queue had then moved to the Hot Breakfast counter and we waited a further 15 mins for a buffet queue to go down..... my advice is check whether the hotel is packed with group bookings or weddings before you stay there.... or book room only and travel somewhere else for breakfast.

I knew of this hotel because I live in the area 30 years ago. We had 2 rooms which were fine, ours a very large space away from the main hotel building with large bed and huge tv and massive bathroom with roll top bath centre placed. The overall impression is that the hotel is very dilapidated and has probably seen more opulent times. We did not have the breakfast here as it appeared uninspiring, instead we found a lovely place in Woburn Sands. Our stay was good for the wedding on Saturday and we have no real complaints. There is a very good Thai restaurant next door and now the Anchor restaurant close by - I cannot see this place competing which is so typical of many hotels like this that just lose their mojo over time. They have the space and if with a good chef and a bit of money there is the opportunity to offer a good cocktail bar and bistro dining, but a long way to go before they get to that point even if they want to.

Visited with a coach party and stayed for four nights. Friendly staff, quick check in. Room comfortable and very quite. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Evening meal varied with 3 choices of starters, mains and sweets. Well cooked and presented. All staff helpful and good service. Hotel well situated for visiting interesting places in the area.

Recently stayed here after celebrating friends wedding, all Staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful on arrival, the Room was a decent size in the cottage rooms and clean and tidy, the décor made it feel a little dated but for a one night stay it was fine, the complementary small decanter of brandy in the room was a nice touch, although not sure on the taste as we didn't try it.

Hotel is ok, Very little to do locally. So if your after just a bed and breakfast then it's perfect. No gym, swimming, small bar area and nothing else in the village. Nice to see the Windows facing the extremely busy main road have had an attempt to reduce the noise with a second inner window installed. But the noise can still be an heard.

We stayed here for my sister in law's wedding. My Sister/Mother/Brother-in-law also stayed. We were all very disappointed. The reception staff were welcoming and courteous and there was plenty of parking, but that is where the positives end. The bed was hard, the pillows like cardboard (all four of them - resorting to a terrible neck pain for most of the next day). The toilet seat lid was broken off it's hinge, but resting over the toilet seat. The ‘full' english breakfast was missing any eggs (both days according to my sister-in-law, due to 'no gas'). In actual fact the ‘full' English breakfast consisted of: beans, sausage, bacon, toast (from a toaster from the bygone age of hotels that by the time the toast was warm and brown, the rest of the place of food was cold), black pudding and tomato. There was no milk on our table - or sugar - or butter. I had to get up and go searching on other tables. There was limited cereal and limited milk. In fact when I asked where the milk was, I was sternly told 'on the table!' When I asked if there would be any eggs/hash browns/mushrooms, I was told - again sternly, ‘If it's not there, no'. We were not offered a refill of tea. One small pot between two. We were lucky to get anything for breakfast at all as when we checked in we were told that breakfast was at 9-10am. The receptionist then turned to her colleague and corrected it to 9-11am on a Saturday. She then told us to avoid it at 9-10am as there was a National Trust group in who would be there and that they were quite large. She continued that the breakfast room would be very busy at that time. The breakfast was more boarding school, with the staff treating us like naughty latecomers to breakfast. Although it's a three star it is clearly charging 4 star price. So, all in all, not a great experience at all for our £135.00!

Stayed here for a friends wedding, the happy couple also staying, in the morning in the bridal suite we needed an extra chair in the room for the hairdresser, apparently the whole hotel did not have a chair without arms! The bride ordered breakfast for her elderly parents, it wasn't delivered, when called to chase was told it was not delivered because they could not cook any form of eggs whatsoever?! We could not check into our other rooms early so was told if we left our bags in the suite they would be taken to our rooms during the day, on arrival back in the early hours all our bags were still in the bridal suite #awkward! The hotel arranged us a taxi from the venue, the journey of about a mile was charged at £15, when queried the driver said the hotel had agreed that on booking but this was not relayed to anyone. All 20 guests staying at the hotel were supposed to receive sandwiches on our return, these were not made available, the following morning the hotel insisted we had refused them and were still charging! 20 people who'd been drinking all day refusing food?? Just not the case. Felt like problems from start to finish and did not make the couple feel special like they should've done!

Stayed 1 night. Room needed dusting & hoovering. Evening Meal in the restaurant was good although side salad was forgotten and brought just as meal was bring finished. Breakfast a disaster waited for table to be cleaned then laid had to ask for tea & coffee then wait for the food to be replenished. Pale bacon no eggs. Not worth £12.

Recently stayed here after celebrating friends wedding. All Staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Room was ok, clean, but could hear the road through the single glazed window in the bathroom. Bathroom door stuck, so needed forcing closed. Breakfast was basic, scrambled eggs where pale and bit tasteless. Biggest problem with breakfast is lack of space where the hot food is served, meaning everyone is on top of each other waiting. Would have been 4* if it wasn't for this.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel, a family of 5 we had a family room and a double room, both really lovely, clean and spacious. Bathroom both good, family room had 2 sinks AND large corner bath with 2 shower heads and toys for younger guests. Both rooms had mini decanters of brandy with mini glasses, a nice touch although as a non drinker would have actually preferred a bottle of water, I didn't ask but they may well have swapped. Was nice to be able to open windows fully and our family room had French doors and a small balcony area. On the improvement side: Was lacking air con which would have been welcomed given we stayed on the hottest day of the year (which incidentally helped us choose on wether to dine in the hotel restaurant or not, we opted for a 5 min drive into the local Kingston centre for an air conditioned restaurant) the hotel restaurant was, like many these days, in a conservatory without air con so like a little green house (which was was what it was called I believe). Storage of scaffolding in front of our room I'm assuming is temporary. The staff varied a little, reception on arrival was lacking in warmth, no humour or friendliness however the waiter at breakfast, Asad I think was his name, was simply wonderful, friendly, accommodating, nothing was too much trouble...check out was reasonably fast. We would defo stay again next year for our annual Woburn visit. Book it Danno!

This hotel is a quiet retreat just off the M1. It ha a large car park and clean well equipped rooms. The restaurant is very good and the staff are very helpful. The breakfast is nice because you can order any combination of food, which is prepared fresh to order

As a family of 4 we stayed at the hotel overnight for a local wedding (not at the hotel though that's what it seems to cater for - be warned!) out of logistical convenience. Check in was OK though there was some confusion if we'd paid in advance (we had to my knowledge) or otherwise. Our two rooms were booked months in advance and I'd asked for quiet rooms on the top floor away from noise - the room my wife and I had was properly accommodated (room 49?) at the end of the annex corridor on the top floor but my two sons room (33) was mid level within the hotel and they suffered a disturbed nights sleep (or lack off!) due to inconsiderate child 'guests' running up and down the corridor throughout the early hours and I believe other guests complained about this! The rooms seemed reasonably furnished with nicely appointed bathrooms. Though it's August the central heating was on(!?) so our room was very warm and needed the windows opening overnight - not a problem being at the quiet end of the hotel but an air conditioning unit or fan would have been a godsend. Breakfast - we'd paid I think £12 a head for the breakfast - my advice is don't bother and go elsewhere as the ingredients used were of poor quality - cheap orange juice, under cooked bacon, fatty sausages and oddly flavored scrambled egg and my wife advised the black pudding was the poorest she'd ever tasted! Toast was DIY and only brown bread was available(?) The mark of a good hotel is the quality of it's breakfasts and as such this is definitely lacking - not enough choice, not enough staff to clear tables and re-set and to offer follow up service and poor quality ingredients - there needs to be an improvement here! Would I stay here again - I think not and would happily travel further away to a better hotel so my advice is shop around and read reviews before you commit.

We stayed two nights, down from Scotland for a family wedding taking place locally. We like Best Western hotels but this stay didn't live up to our other experiences within their hotels concept. Check in was quick and easy and our room was 66 in the annexe. The annexe entrance area was in need of a vac and remained so throughout our stay. The room was small with a standard double bed and peeling faux leather head board. There was no fan or a/c and boy, was it hot. Single glazing meant that the kitchen fans in the main building directly opposite were intrusive. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. A nice touch was a bedside tray with two glasses and a small brandy flask compliments of the Management for a bedtime snifter. Breakfast on the Saturday morning was a car crash. We sat down at 09.00am with few in the dining room, within 30 minutes the arriving guests were clearing and laying their own tables. Just not enough serving staff to cope with the numbers. The buffet area was without tongs for bread, the plates were cold and wet, the scrambled egg a solid hot block. Overall, the hot food quality wasn't impressive with many providers in this competitive hotel sector doing so much better. Overall, disappointed with what we experienced.

We were married here last year, and included in our wedding package was a night in the bridal suite on our anniversary. We took advantage of this kind gesture. Upon arrival, all staff were well presented and very friendly. Every time I have visited this hotel all the staff have been very welcoming, they are all a credit to the business. We had the same room as we when we married here which was nice, and it was clean and comfortable. We had dinner in the Greenhouse Restaurant which we both enjoyed. Again, the staff were excellent. We had breakfast in the morning. We were staying on a B&B basis, but if you have not paid for B&B do not be put off by the £12.50 price tag; that includes your choice of cooked breakfast, unlimited tea and coffee, continental breakfast, fruit, cereals and juices. The price might be a bit steep, but you can definitely get your money's worth. The waiter at breakfast was extremely friendly, he engaged in lengthy and in depth conversation with us while we were trying to eat breakfast, but we are shy people and were just too polite to ask to be left alone. I don't mean to criticise, he clearly enjoys his job and does it very well. We always enjoy coming to Moore Place, sometimes just for a drink or for coffee (we live about 15 minutes away so is easy for us to get to). When we arrived on Sunday there were some glasses out on the patio tables, and were still there 3 hours later. The exterior of the building is starting to look a little shabby, but it looks like they have this well in hand as there are scaffolding poles lying out of the way in preparation for use. We will continue to pop in here, and would recommend a stay here.

Stayed here on business and found the staff to be very helpful. The rooms were very warm in the original building, however they were nice and spacious. The decor was a little dated. Overall a decent place to stay.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights, in room 2 (in the main hotel building), on a DBB basis. We found the hotel which surprisingly did not have the usual large BW sign outside. There was plenty of parking. We were pleasantly greeted at reception and shown to our room. This was large with a four poster bed, large wardrobe, window seat, coffee table, big tv and three chairs. There was plenty of storage space, though no fridge or safe. A kettle and coffee and tea supplies were on the coffee table. Also, to our surprise, complimentary decanters of whisky and brandy! Two packets, of Lotus Biscoff, each containing one biscuit, were supplied which we thought was rather disappointing. Also disappointing was the tea comprised typhoo tea only - no green tea, earl grey or fruity types. The bathroom had a bath, separate shower and WC. A useful feature was the toilet roll holder which could be positioned to suit! The water was always hot. Toiletries comprised moisturising cream, shampoo and bath/shower gel. One poor aspect of the bed was the poor lighting if we wanted to read in bed. Although there was a light beside the bed, the drape of the four poster shaded the light. Wifi was good, reliable and reasonably fast. Breakfast was a lovely selection of cold food to which you help yourself and hot food cooked to order. The cold food included fresh fruit, cereal, juice, croissants, pastries and yoghurt. The waiter was friendly and remembered our coffee and tea order. Breakfast starts at 0630 weekdays and 0800 at weekends which may be a little late for some. Servicing of the room was ok but they removed the very slightly used shampoo and shower gel, replacing them with two shower gels. We had to get more shampoo from reception. There were a couple of very minor maintenance issues with fixtures in the bathroom which we notified the reception of when checking out. Included in these was the extractor fan in the bathroom gave no sign of working. In no way did these minor issues detract from our enjoyment. The quiet location in the village and nearby attractions of Woburn Abbey were excellent. The hotel appears to be used mainly by business people during the week when we were there. However, at weekends the hotel hosts weddings so this might affect the parking and cause noise. There are no shops in the village. There is an Indian and Thai restaurant next door. Also the nearby Anchor Inn and restaurant, which has been closed for refurbishment, should be open again in mid September. The hotel has its own restaurant which is good and reviewed elsewhere. However, note that the allowance for Dinner is £25 which is not sufficient to cover 3 courses unless you choose the cheapest options.

Room upon arrival was small, no fan in the room or AC. Arrived quite late after a day travelling. Went into breakfast quite late, no orange juice, selection of fruits, cereal and yoghurt! Seemed ok, just need some cereal and coffee and go! The guy (bouncer) on the breakfast room entrance was quite miffed I had come in and I had only paid for my room! I sometimes forget when booking many business trips, if I book RO or B&B. No problem I can pay the extortionate £12.50 when I check out! He kept pacing, checking on me, I genuinely think he thought I was pulling a fast one and I was going to do a runner!!!! Please This is quite intimidating, and your breakfast and rooms are overpriced!

This hotel is located in the little Village of Aspley Guise, minutes away from M1 J13. The hotel room are nice and the surrounding is very quiet. Good value for money, great location not far from Milton Keynes but with the benefit of a village atmosphere.

My husband and I stayed here one night before going to Centreparcs at Woburn forest. We had a warm welcome and check in was quick and easy. We stayed in room 37 which had a fresh look and was clean and comfortable. The only drawback was the view from the room which looked out onto a scaffold tower. We went downstairs for a drink in the bar but had to wait a while for someone to come and serve. We decided to eat in the restaurant as the menu was quite inviting. My husband has the steak whilst I had fish and chips. The steak was cooked just right where as the fish should have been in a chilli/soda batter but I could not taste the chilli. Other than that the fish was good. We both had dessert which was rather indulgent. The waitress was friendly and helpful and the food did not take too long to arrive. The one thing that would have made our evening better was to have music in the bar and restaurant, it was so quiet there was no atmosphere........ We did not have breakfast in the morning although we did have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Checkout was quick and easy too. A stay here is recommended.

We have just a stayed a night here and found the hotel to be both comfortable and pleasant. Check-in was efficient and the lady behind the desk was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom could do with modernising. The complimentary drop of brandy in the room was a nice touch. The bar staff were brilliant and many thanks for going out of the way to find us that corkscrew. The breakfast was of good quality. Would we stay here again? Yes!

This place is primarily a commercial hotel and conference facilities which I am sure it serves adequately. However, this becomes an event venue at weekends and there were at least two or three weddings taking place and the property is simply not big enough to accommodate that number of people - to the detriment of those of us who were not associated with a wedding. The rooms are adequate for single occupancy business bookings but standard double beds, at these prices, are unacceptable. Bathrooms are similarly compact and the shower was installed in such a way it soaked the rear wall, mirror and all toiletries and cosmetics stored on the shelf above the sink. The TVs have been installed at a sensible height for viewing from the bed but the bedside lights, suspended from the ceiling, are too bright and too high to be of any use. The mattress was old and uncomfortable and the old vinyl bed head was crumbling away all over the pillow and sheets. It should be noted that despite the criticism the rooms are spotlessly clean. Then we come to breakfast. What a shambles!! The room is too small for a full hotel of families so the timing had been extended to 8.00am - 11.00am rather than 10.00am but no one had told the restaurant staff!! We arrived to find the breakfast room looking like the aftermath of an explosion in a china factory!! Tables had not been cleared from earlier and we were left with no choice but to sit at a dirty table and wait whilst a sullen woman cleared the table, and then complained we had taken a table that had not been laid. The drinks order was simple - one coffee, one mineral water. She delivered a pot of coffee and a pot of hot water - and no cups. The breakfast buffet was poor. Many missing items and when fresh food was delivered it was in dirty plastic ice cream containers and simply tipped into container. The eggs were grossly over cooked and the bacon was of a very poor quality. It was make your own toast and, allegedly, croissants were available and fresh ones were being prepared, I waited forty minutes but none arrived. The head waiter is simply not capable of operating a business with this volume of customers and his team are equally ineffective - after all - they only have to serve the wrong drinks and clear tables! At 10.00am they immediately started to wind down the breakfast service informing customers breakfast was finished, pointing out that the key cards stated 10.00am despite the receptionist having pointedly explained breakfast would be extended at checkin. This place has aspirations of competing with similar properties in the area but, although it has a good location, poor service standards, lack of attention to detail and staff who struggle to understand English all conspire to leave a taste of sourness in the mouth at checkout especially at the prices they charge. The place looks good but unfortunately there is nothing to support it underneath.

Booked in for one night to recover from a long flight and jet lag. Booked a room in the main original building and found it to be very tired and shabby. I have never stayed in a Best Western hotel where the shower cubicle was actually mouldy and the carpets were dirty. the bar area, reception, the main entrance, corridors and my room were shabby and in need of some maintenance. Every door and door frame was dirty and full of black marks and chipped paint. However the buffet breakfast was excellent and the breakfast waiter was very good. Overall not what I expected from a Best Western Hotel

Stayed the night at this hotel lastnight for a friend's wedding and though i didn't mind the basic amenities of this hotel, the rooms have no ventilation. A simple blower fan installed in the rooms would be sufficient but it was hot and humid every where i went within the hotel. Rooms were clean and liveable but will be in need of a makeover in a few years. The grounds of the hotel were very nice. Love the waterfall by the reception. All staff very helpful. Breakfast was a simple affair lacking choice. All in all i had a great wedding night which overshadows this review.

Stayed whilst working in the area. Check in was quick and smooth. Room I was allocated was in the outside building so back out into the rain. I have stayed here 3 times and always been put in the block and not the main hotel. The room was small but ok and the small double bed was adequate for one person. Internet fast and good sized tv. However the channels do stick now and again. I had a pizza which was good and very reasonable price for hotel food. I would stay again but hopefully be in the main building next time.

We stayed for two nights upgrading to a deluxe room with a 4 poster bed, which was lovely. The hotel is very pleasant with staff making you feel very welcome, especially Lauren, Charlie and Becky. Would have no problems staying here in the future.

I have stayed in lots of hotels over the UK and this has to be the worst ever. Room was so warm and small it was difficult to breathe. So i opened the window to get some air to find that the window opened out onto an industrial extractor fan from the kitchen that blew warm smelly air over the lodge rooms. This meant that it was like some form of white noise torture all night. The temperature control on the shower did not work so after being scalded needed to fill the bath with cool water to relieve the pain. Bed was lumpy and pillows flat. Walls paper thin so very communal hotel. Internet was very fast.

My colleague and I stayed here last night having stayed many times before but we won't be staying again! My tiny, dingy and fusty smelling room was filthy and hadn't been cleaned, it was scattered with other people's toenails and debris, the bed was broken and slanted and blinds didn't fit meaning the room was floodlit all night with the street lights! My colleague had to be moved as she was faced with other people's pants on the floor of her room! Reported it to reception who were apologetic but really couldn't care less. At £80 a night we would expect better and didn't want the added bonus of pants and toenails that were thrown in for free!!
