« Best Ever Best Western »

An unexpected delightful evening. Visiting Mildura we passed this restaurant and decided to book for the next evening. Super friendly staff (Thankyou Emily. A wonderfully friendly, mature young woman). The meals were very delicious. I had the Beef Brisket and would normally take a "pre-eating" photo but sadly devoured the moist meat and vegies. So only have the empty plate which says a lot for the meal. My husband had the trout - another successful plate. Sticky Date Pudding to finish off the night and our stay in Mildura. Well done to the Shaun the Chef for your food and great taste in music. Definitely recommend.

    « Clean and Friendly »

We had an overnight stay. Reception very friendly and helpful. Room clean and very comfortable. Restaurant had a big group in so couldn't accommodate us for dinner. Parking very cramped. We were going to stay on the way back but we experienced that the bathroom was not wheelchair friendly and the motel does not have disabled accommodation. Otherwise we would happily stay there again.

« Comfortable Room, Friendly Service »

The staff were friendly both in reception and in the restaurant. Room had everything needed for a comfortable night. Food in the restaurant was very tasty and value for money. I would stay here again.

« Large comfortable room, great value for money! »

We booked this room on the last night of our holiday whilst on our way home. The room was a great size and included a spa. We were worried about noise being so close to the main road but it was not an issue. The bed was comfortable and very large as we were upgraded from a queen to a king. We'd definitely visit again.

    5
    « Avoid!!! »

Awful room, waste of good money. WiFi constantly loses connection. Dont even bother using it. Sofa bed was riddled in mites. Foxtel consists of 3 sports channels and 1 music. The heater is crap . Didn't even warm the room up. Room is really dusty, there was literally built up dust on the shelves. Spa bath jet dial was broken. Worst quality toilet paper. Overall, avoid. Nothing pleasant worth mentioning. Everything was a huge letdown.

    2
« Plenty of others to stay in »

Smell of something offensive used in the room as part of the cleaning process. Not the only hotel or motel to do it but it's the equivalent to me of cigarette smoke. I opted for the room without a spa as I'm always doubtful, justifiably, about their hygiene. The cost was the same. Not cheap rooms. I was given a room that left my bike close to the road. A fair bit of traffic noise. No sheds to keep motorbikes. And parking even for cars is a squeeze. Where other motels have parking at right angles to the room, with this place there are a lot that are parallel to the room from lack of space around the main motel building. Not that Mildura is known for its street vandalism, but it only takes one person. The room came with a king and a single bed. A shortage of power points. All of the accessible ones are on one wall away from the beds but so close to the benches I couldn't use my mobile recharger. I had to search on hands and knees to use a spare one hidden under the fixed bedside table. This motel isn't unique in this. Unusually, except in some of the skankier places I've stayed in, the towels were small, the sheets thin and new but a poly/cotton mix at a guess. Has a TV, fridge, lots of flat table space, a small sofa, sliding doors to a communal pool, a small air-con. Unrelentingly fat plastic-filled pillows, air-con that blows hot and cold (I had it set to warm), drop-in plastic shower recess, sink low enough for a dwarf. The shower spews out hot water, a welcome change, but unless you're a lobster careful adjustment between hot and cold would be to your advantage. I'm sure the spa baths are good and the pool looks inviting. The chef cooks well and isn't overpriced. Breakfast is good. Staff are friendly. The rooms are spacious. In Mildura there's not much between each motel I'd have thought. I stayed at one once there before and it was better than this one and from memory cheaper. But when you want a room in a rush (I was wet and cold) that's what you get. Desperately in need of a refurbishments.

« One night in Mildura - great plce to stay »

Myself and colleagues had to stay the night in Mildura after troubles with the aircraft, so Qantas arranged for us to stay at this hotel. It was great. the rooms were spacious and well equieped, the common dining area had great meals and friendly waiting staff, and the front desk was as friendly as can be. Overall a good place to stay

    4
    « Short stay »

Great little place to stay for the night. Room was tidy and quaint, had lots of room for bags to go. We even had a spa but didn't use it. Hotel reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful with information about the place and surrounds. Close to the town center would definitely recommend if heading through the area.

    « Always welcoming, »

Stayed on many occaisions when travelling for work. Staff are always friendly and welcoming The rooms are clean& well appointed. The Spa bath is a bonus after a long flight and hard days work. The restaurant has amazing food. It small but dining alone, the staff and other guests are always happy to chat.

    4
    « Road trip »

A clean and tidy hotel. The family room sleeps 6. The self contained accommodation and cooking facilities were appreciated. The staff are ver friendly. Rates are good. Did not try out the dinner menu but it did look good. There a few newer properties but this was acceptable.

« Great stay as always. »

I have just stayed at the motel for 2 weeks including the weekend will on works business. My stay, as always has been a pleasure from checking in to checking out. All the staff were great, helpful and polite. My room was clean, comfortable and cleaned to a high standard daily while I was out. If I get the chance to bring my family to Sunraysia in the future I won`t hesitate to book the Early Australian, they`d love it. One last thing, the restaurant that goes with the motel is a dream for anyone who loves class food. As Arnie says I`ll be back.

    « Quick trip »

Last minute booking at this hotel, stayed here due to the convenience of where it was and where we needed to go. A large shopping centre across the road is a bonus. The staff were pleasant and despite being on a main road it wasn't as noisey as we thought it could be. The rooms were ok, just in need of a little tlc.... Our room was a bit dusty on the bathroom floor as we noticed when it got wet and our bath mat then got dirty, but given the area I'm not surprised about the dust! I would hate to be parking a big car here as its a bit tight. In saying that we had a small car so it was no issue for us, we would stay here again.

    3
    « A bit disappointed. »

Really thought this place would be 4 star as it suggests. Was met by a very cold man who didn't seem friendly. Although room is clean and tidy it doesn't live up to 4 star. Our room is upstairs and tiny stair well to bring your luggage up. Very outdated room and needing some TLC. The room is rather cramped the air conditioning is almost sitting on top of cabinet. Usually there is a box of tissues in the bathroom but all we have is pocket size pack. No coffee mugs only tea cups. There's a crack running across the ceiling and very shoddy workmanship to fix what looks like some damage to the wall. Will stay somewhere else next time. Have stayed in better places.

    4
    « One night »

The room was small but pleasant. It was clean and good value for money. There is a little renovation work needed, but in no way was this an issue for us. The motel is located on the main road so there is some traffic noise. Ideal for a one night business trip, not a romantic getaway. I would come again for business without hesitation.

    2
    « Run down »

It's a pretty run down place, and didn't feel clean. The owner was also very rude and not very sympathetic when we pointed out that we booked a room with a king bed and was given a queen! Not a big problem for us, but a simple apology would have been nice. We booked directly through them and had email comformation direct from them. And he just dissmissed me when I was simply pointing out what we thought we were getting.

    4
    « Ok for 1 night »

Stayed here in April this year and couldn't really fault it. There were a few little things that I would like to see changed especially for a hotel claiming to be a four star property. There are no eating utensils or crockery in the room( difficult when nothing nearby is open except take away). Also I think the hotel could do with a major revamp, it's looking slightly "70s motor inn". Over all a pleasant stay, would just like to see these things addressed .

    5
« They did everything and more that you expect »

I like value for money and sometimes I like spending more to get more and other times I just need a bed, but expect that the price reflects that. This Motor Inn did everything expected for the price they charged. It is not a resort, yet they have a pool and a place to share a drink. The service was very friendly and helpful, which is all too infrequent in small establishments where staff numbers are limited and hours are long, 7 days a week. I admire their attitude to serve you and do what they can to make you journey comfortable. We required a room for 3 adults therefore a fold out bed was not the best option - hard to know when using online booking, but options were given and we all had a good nights sleep. Big trucks made some noise I am told - my wife is a light sleeper, but it did not worry her much, so it can't have been too bad, especially since I had opened the door to the pool area at night to get plenty of fresh air. This Inn is not in town, but so long as you have a vehicle, not out of the way either.

    « Always great! »

We always stay and eat here when in Mildura, which is quite often. Wanting to leave another review, I read some others that were left recently. And I now find myself instead, defending this property and it's owners! I cannot understand the negative ones, we have always had a great stay here, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are lovely and very accommodating. It has become a home away from home. I can only conclude that some peoples expectations are just unreasonable, some comments are unfair, nasty and even ridiculous! To those of you who have not stayed here yet and are considering doing so, please don't be put off by these sort of reviews. There are some people out there who obviously could never be pleased. I'm sure they even go out of their way to destroy anothers reputation....and their livelihood!

    « Mildura »

Room extremely dusty the carpet was dirty and stained. We stayed two nights the room was to be prepared for the next night the same sheets were userd and the floor was not cleaned and the one glass that was used was not cleaned properly lt still had lip marks .needs a decent clean.

    3
« Reasonable price but needs TLC »

I stayed in a upstairs room facing the main road, the road noise was very annoying and constant, double glazed glass would make a big difference, the fridge in my room was very noisy ,a constant vibrating sound that made sleeping difficult, the layout of the room was hard to understand ,you have a really good sofa facing away from the TV looking at a table with a chair ,so the only place that you could watch TV was from the bed ,the table and chair had no real purpose ,as there was no power point or light so you could not use it as a desk, the bathroom had a refurb but it was of poor quality and finish, bad tiling uneven and grout that had not been cleaned of,when I wiped the basin and the whole thing moved,as it was not secured properly ,the vanity top had been tiled ,but not very well, the mattress was alright not great ,the hosts where very nice geniune people .

    « Short stop over »

Basic motel room with what I needed for the night. I didn't hear the traffic but did get noise from other guests using the stairs well into the night. A toaster would have been useful and maybe a carton of milk rather than the tiny milk pots. I have stayed in better Best Western motels.

    2
    « Business Trip »

Room was very average, air conditioner was noisy, had to keep banging it to get some quieter operation,wi-fi very poor, gave up in the end.Reception I thought I was at McDonald's,kept trying to upsize with either a meal or breakfast.Checkout ok although I am still waiting for Best Western points.Overall,I have stayed in better motels than this,I expect better from Best Western

    2
    « Traffic Noise »

Nice enough/average country motel but the hoons coming off the top of the roundabout all night ruined it. To close to a major hoon spot to make it worth it. Major let down for me opposite a major shopping plaza but to far from the main part of Mildura

    5
« Great comfortable place to stay. »

Have stayed at the Best Western Early Australian a lot over the past month. The rooms I have had, have been very comfortable and have everything that is required. The owners of the property, Jackie, Jean and Norm are very helpful and will go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable.

    « Lovely Surprise »

Were always travelling the country & stopped into Mildura on our way home. We have to say that the service we received here was terrific, all staff very happy to help with any problems, even helped me connect to the wifi, i have fumbly fingers these days. Our room was very well appointed, looked to be a newly refurbished bathroom, comfy bed and lovely breakfast delivered hot and on time. Would highly recommend this place.

    4
    « Reasonable value »

Reasonable value, room clean. Nice to have the pool outside the door. Great restaurant on the premises. Staff very friendly and helpful, will most definitely stay here next time in town. The salt and pepper calamari was the best!

    3
    « Too expensive »

Paid $160 for a queen room. Booked online and was silly enough to pay that rate. Being a Sunday we should not have booked but driven in and asked for a better rate as the motel had many vacancies. Other trip advisor higher rated motels were advertised at a cheaper rate. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and it was nice and clean. For the price I would have expected fresh milk. I probably could have asked for it but we were very tired having driven from Sydney and for this price we shouldn't have to ask. The restaurant is closed on Sunday's and the motel is too far from restaurants in the city to walk to - you need to drive. If this had been a $100 a night room it would have been rated good but at $160 it is bad value and hard to see how it is rated 4 star. Motel room was very noisy. I could hear people in other rooms talking into the night. Windows weren't double glazed so the road noise is loud. Room is dated. Maintenance is lacking around the motel. The swimming pool was green. The bedside lamps in the room had broken switches. The air conditioner leaked water. This would be a good hotel at $100 - $115 a night and 3.5 star. But definitely not 4 star standard with a 4 star price.

    3
« Good 3.5 standard room very overpriced »

This motel would be good at $100-$115 price range. We paid $160 for a queen room. Too expensive. Made a huge mistake booking through quantas as paid top price. Would have done much better just driving in and asking as the motel was fairly empty being a Sunday night. Would probably then have got a room for $110 and been happy. There are a lot of motels in Mildura and better prices with good reviews on trip advisor. We were very tired having driven from Sydney after New Year's Eve. So did the easy thing and booked through quantas after having trouble getting accommodation in other towns this week. The motel is rated 4 star but is a good3.5 star. The motel Restaurant closed on Sunday nights and the motel is too far away from eateries in Mildura to walk to. You need to drive. No fresh milk in the room. It was probably available if I asked but when paying $160 it is expected and I was tired. Good bed. Good sized room. Clean. Tired 2 seater couch for$160 room but good for $110 room. I know I booked through quantas but the reception could have seen this on the booking and offered an upgrade. 32 degree day and the pool was filthy. Decision - Motel would have rated much higher if the price paid was more reasonable or if we were offered an upgrade.

    « Still a joy! »

Stopping at the Early again, working away from home again, but it doesn`t seem like I`m away from home, as it`s a real pleasure coming back to my room after a long day in the field. Polite and friendly staff early morning and evening . Clean, tidy, peaceful and homely room, nothing`s to much trouble for them. If you don`t believe me or aren`t sure, try it, you won`t be disappointed.

« Highly recommend welcoming clean Motel »

This is not my first time at this motel & just spent another 3 nights on a business trip & whilst it is not a new motel it is in very good condition, very clean, well appointed, well priced within a convenient location & with a very friendly team to look after you. The breakfasts & dinners were excellent. Highly recommend.

  • 2
    « Noisy, noisy, noisy!!! »

The rooms, although comfortable and quite nice, are extremely noisy, mostly due to the highway and noise from numerous trucks. Inconsiderate neighbours also made for sleepless nights. The food was very nice, as were the staff. Unfortunately not enough to make up for the noise though. Not recommended!

    5
« Spotless comfort and great cooking »

I had a comfortable ground floor room with excellent air-conditioning on a hot day. The owners are kind and friendly and the room service dinner (crispy skin salmon with quinoa and asparagus was excellent. The Lindt Chili Chocolate bar in the fridge was irresistible at only $3! And my breakfast eggs were poached to perfection.

    4
« Comftable rooms very nice Restaurant »

Stayed here for 2 nights, very pleasant rooms, loved the recliner chair to sit in and watch T.V. The only issue that I had was it the room was a bit noisy at night due to the traffic. We also had our meals in the restaurant, the meals were of a fantastic standard, it did take a while for the meals to be served, but I think that this was because the meals were prepared fresh which does take a bit longer. I would be happy to stay here again

    5
    « Worth a visit »

We stopped here on the spur of the moment. We were made very welcome very friendly people. The room was really nice very comfortable well stocked fridge, wine beer, water, and chocolate. Comfy beds and bistro did lovely food.

    4
    « Friendly and welcoming »

Beautiful soft yet supportive beds, great pillows. Quiet location at night. Well appointed fridge, although woukd benefit with sufarfree drinks as option other than water. Small but fubctional bathroom. We were in room 3, dark, but for 1 night not an issue.

    4
« good place for one night »

very helpful and pleasant place to stay,Close to amenities and easily accesable although parking is not the greatest as you cant park near to you door on ocassions. Otherwise not bad at all. Certainly recommended for one night only

« So Glad we stayed here!! »

Best accommodation we stayed at on our recent trip.Thank you for your hospitality. Comfy beds. Lovely clean sheets & towels. Have eaten here before in their Springfields Restaurant & decided next time I was Mildura I would stay here. Well worth it. Wouldn't stay anywhere else now. Thank you.

    3
    « Not as expected »

Room wasn't as booked, should have been an extra bed, but had a sofa bed instead which wasn't the greatest. Was reasonably neat & tidy, & the location was great though! The staff were excellent & very friendly!
