« NIce Place to Stay »

I stayed in the new wing of the hotel and found the rooms to be very large and very comfortable. The rooms in the older wing are smaller but very comfortable. The furniture in the hotel have all been updated and are nearly new looking. The rooms are very clean and the maid staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a courtsey van and it will take you to the core of the downtown are and to other shopping. Good place to stay

« Good location, nice staff! »

We stayed here for 4 days and it was a good value and nice location. The hotel is in need of some back things such as working A/C.......there is a fan in the closet?! The staff is really nice, Phillip at the front desk remembers your name every day!!!! Franny, I hope that's her name, at the front desk is super nice and always has a smile and helpful suggestions for dining or things to see before you go. I will be back again.

    « OK stay »

The room was roomy. That was nice. However, there was no continental breakfast offered. Instead, there is a restaurant at the hotel, but the prices seemed a bit too steep to suite me. When I travel for business I am traveling to make money, not spend it where avoidable to do so. I stayed at hotel ten days. I found there are numerous non-hotel units nearby that provide a kitchen area. That will suite me a lot better for future trips to Ketchikan, Alaska.

    « Very comfortable hotel »

We spent five nights in the hotel and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is not close to downtown, but there is a shuttle that runs regularly. However, it is directly across the street from the ferry terminal, which was handy for us (coming from Prince Rupert and going to Haines). The hotel has a small attractive lobby that serves coffee and snacks in the morning. Our room was a large corner suite in the adjoining building. There is an elevator and luggage carts that made checking in easy. The room was nicely decorated in an Alaska theme, but the carpet had problems--a definite line/ripple down the length of the room that felt odd to walk on. The bed was very comfortable, which is most important to us. The bathroom was somewhat small but well appointed. There is a covered parking garage with large slots as well as outside parking; we never had a problem finding room in the garage. There is also a restaurant on the premises that had standard fare and was helpful for breakfast and a dinner. The staff were generally pleasant and professional. We did complain when two staff members had a loud conversation outside after midnight, and our windows were open since it was warm. The hotel nicely and unexpectedly comped our breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and would choose this hotel again.

    « Great Hotel »

I recently stayed at this hotel while visiting a friend who is working in Ketchikan. The hotel was very clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The shuttle is very convenient and pretty much can take you to all the places one needs to get to. I will definitely stay again when I return to Ketchikan.

« Welcoming and Comfortable Stay »

I have stayed at this property twice on business. The staff is welcoming and attentive, the rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed. If I am ever back in Ketchikan for business or pleasure, the Best Western will definitely be my first choice.

« First stop to Alaska Fishing Adventure »

Arrived to a friendly , helpful staff! Found the rooms large ,clean and modern! Both restaurants in hotel were tasty, and service was excellent! We had a very good stay and will use again every time I am in Ketchikan!

« Very Plesant Stay, Great Staff, Great Rooms, Great Shuttle »

We had to stay unexpectedly one night in Ketchikan, AK. There are not many hotels/motels to choose from. We were disappointed in the price, but they have no trouble filling the rooms up there. The hotel was clean, the restaurant and bar were nice and comfortable. The shuttle drivers were so kind, attentive and fast. Everyone that worked there was friendly (which I found to be the opposite at Cape Fox). The rooms were large and comfortable, a little bit of road noise but nothing to keep you awake at night. Everyone who worked there had a smile for the guests and a friendly hello. It was warm and welcoming. I would stay again, and again....

« Great hotel with great service! »

Our family of 5 adults stayed in the Best Western Plus landing in Ketchikan and were very pleased. The rooms are clean and comfortable with plenty of space. In room coffee and convenient restaurant in the lobby which serves great breakfast. The best part is that they will shuttle you from the ferry to downtown - anywhere that is close which really helped and saved on cab fare. There didn't seem to be any a/c but in Sept., we just put the fans provided in the window and slept fine - but you might want to check on the A/C if you're staying in the summer. Great hotel!!

    « Good stay »

Been here two visits. Both were good experiences, clean rooms, comfy beds, efficient service, and two good eateries onsite.. Also close to the airport ferry. They feature reliable pickup and dropoff wherever transport is needed in the area. Thumbs up.

    « Comfortable stay »

We recently spent 3 nights here as the first stop on a 3 week Alaskan vacation that my husband and I were doing with another couple. It was a pre paid, self guided trip, but a travel agency had done all of the bookings for us. At check in it was discovered that our friend's reservation was available, but ours was not. This was high season in AK, a very popular city and busy hotels. With concern on our part and much digging into the hotel records by the assistant manager, it was discovered that the travel agency had originally booked the rooms months before and a month later inadvertently canceled ours, which remains a mystery today, but had a happy ending. The Best Western had one room left so we wouldn't be sleeping across town or in the park! Even though the error was not created by the hotel, they could not have been more determined to fix it, helpful and even apologetic. The manager stopped by our dinner table in their upstairs restaurant that evening, to check on our comfort and we were treated to a full, large breakfast the next morning that had not been included in our reservation. The room was clean and comfortable with a good mattress. The on site dining options, with harbor views and outside balcony tables were a great convenience with good food and great friendly service. The free, on call, shuttle service was a huge plus, both for downtown trips and early morning departure on the Marine ferry. We would definitely stay again, but would avoid the first floor rooms near the entrance as the fishing tours, waiting to be picked up outside at 3-4 am don't think of the bedroom windows nearby of sleeping guests, when talking and laughing, understandably excited about their outing. It was a small irritant in an otherwise excellent stay. Good property, great staff!

« Great Hotel in Ketchikan, Alaska »

This hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Because it's in Alaska, they don't have air conditioning in the rooms. We were there during one on what was told to be a "warm day". Even though they don't have air conditioning, they have fans in the rooms which worked just fine with a "high" temperature of 74 degrees.

    4
« Excellent Location Close To Waterfront. »

Close to the downtown shopping district, free shuttle service from the hotel. Rooms are very well maintained and the staff was very courteous upon arrival. I highly recommend you visit the U.S. Forest Service Southeast Alaska Discovery Center while there. Highly recommended. Nora L

    « IDK what you're asking »

This is a good place to stay. Nice restaurant , comfy room, close to grocery store, good policy on late check if room demand isn't too heavy. The fitness center could be vented better but is adequate. They have the best halibut fish and chips I've ever had.

    3
    « overnight »

room was spacious, but there was no air condition running. Either they don't have one, or it was shut down for some reason. I was kind of dizzy in the morning after I woke up as there was no fresh air coming to the room during the night. The bar at the hotel is great, offering variety of the food and drinks

    5
« Great place to stay in Ketchikan »

Hotel was great, close to shopping, airport, ferry system. It fit all my needs. They have a shuttle that will take you downtown and pick you up. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food at both restaurants was great.

« A Great Place to stay while in Ketchikan »

The hotel is conveniently located near the airport and downtown. The Shuttle Service is efficient, friendly and extremely accommodating. The Front Desk Staff is helpful and courteous. Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ketchikan.

    « TRhe Landing - Best Western »

We had exceptionally good service at the Landing coming and going by Ferry. It is close to the Alaskan Marine Ferry Dock & the Airport. The staff was very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Would highly recomend using them.

    « August 2016 »

Stayed here for 2 nights after chartering a boat and taking it from Juneau to Ketchikan. Did the same thing last year. Rooms are OK. Hot when the temperature is in the 70's. Bath tubs were filthy! I told the front desk clerk, she called housekeeping. While no one ever got back to me, I did overhear the housekeeper telling the front desk that there was nothing she could do about the black stains in the tub. We had two rooms, and both tubs were gross. The staff is friendly, food is decent, it's overpriced, but there are not many options.

    4
« Nice Place to Stay »

We stayed here because it was suggested by El Capitan Lodge. It is close to the ferry that goes to the airport for our departure to El Capitan. But, it is quite a ways to downtown Ketchikan. However, they have a complimentary shuttle that will take you to anywhere in Ketchikan....which is really nice and convenient. The rooms are your typical Best Western type. They have 2 restaurants and a bar, but we went into town to eat at Bar Harbor Restaurant. The front desk was very helpful in recommending things to do and see, as well as restaurants.

    « BW Plus & Restaurant - Ketchikan AK »

The hotel was very nice - clean inside and out - Staff were helpful - Jeremiah's Pub had VERY food - some wait staff were not so good - one dropped his cigarettes on the floor at our table and was not good about coming back to offer water or see what else we wanted - but the female wait staff were very good and tried to cover what the guy was forgetting to do!

    4
    « Nice stay »

Stayed here a couple days because Cape Fox was booked the first few days we were in town. We have now moved there but now realize we should have stayed at the Landing. Not as fancy but not as expensive either. Down side was no view from our room there but the staff was way nicer! I liked the food at restaurant at the Landing much better too, but again no view. Will stay here again next time as friendly helpful staff means a lot to us.

    5
« Kind and Compassionate staff »

My husband and I were on a cruise when I got very sick. The staff at the hospital suggested the Best Western and it was great. It is very clean, The bed is very comfortable The staff is very nice and it is in a convenient location. The free wifi helped my husband stay in touch with our family at home.

    « One nite stay;comfortable, clean, friendly »

Stayed one nite before a fishing trip with the guys. Large 2 Queen room, clean. Has coffee make, and also coffee in the lobby. Very friendly staff. See separate review on the resaurant/pub, ok if tired and don't want to go into town. They have a shuttle, but we did not use it. Very typical hotel. Would stay there again.

    4
« Convenient Hotel with restaurant onsite »

This is an older hotel with smaller rooms and a ways away from downtown. Having a car or taking a taxi will be important unless you love to walk. Restaurant onsite is fairly good and reasonable on pricing (for the area) And, having a place to eat next to your hotel is important here as we found out!

    5
    « Another great stay »

Stayed in the older part of the hotel this time. They have redone the windows so sound was not an issue. The only change I would make to this room was a ottoman or stool to be able to sit in the comfortable chair with my feet up!

    4
« Nice one night stay »

Had a one night stay and it was a good night rest. The access to the reception is not wheelchair accessible so you strugle if you have luggage to take. Again, you have to negotiate the same steps as you have to go to the other building where the rooms are. I stayed in the very back end of the hotel (quite far away from everything), but at least it was very nice and quiet. The staff are extremly polite and welcoming. The distance from the town is an issue but there is a shuttle service free of charge. Downside is it shuts at 0945pm.

    5
« Excellent accommodations but far from downtown »

I stayed one night at the Best Western and had a wonderful room looking out to the bay. The weather was warm and Alaskans have little need for A/C so I had the balcony door open all night with a fan going - a small inconvenience for a great room. The staff is very friendly. Shuttle service is provided any time because the hotel is a couple of miles from the main tourist area.

« Wallace & Grommet stand at the edge of the world. »

I have stayed at the Best Western Landing on many occasions, as mandated by my employer. I do not exactly fear staying here, however I can assure you I do not look forward to it either. Being located in Ketchikan, Alaska's first and also possibly worst city, it's fine accommodation to keep off the elements. Would I recommend for a family vacation? No. The rooms are, as you would imagine them to be, simply American hotel rooms. Commercial furniture, rock hard carpet, reasonable beds, hollow core doors. None of the rooms I've ever stayed in at the landing have ever had air conditioning. Countertop fans are usually provided and are usually stored in the closet. Bathrooms are just that, modular and cheap; fulfilling the basic requirements of exactly what they are. Rooms in general are clean, and hotel staff have always been friendly and accommodating to the best of their ability. My last room had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee machine. Restaurant food here at the edge of the world seems mostly strait from the back from the FSA truck. The staff works hard with what they have to work with, and this establishment if placed in competition with ?real world' hotels, would wither and die overnight. Stay here for just exactly that; a place to sleep while you deal with business or family or something other than paying more than the minimum attention to your immediate surroundings. The ?elevator' for ADA or baby stroller access to the second floor is fully functional, and taken straight from a Wallace and Grommet cartoon. It seems originally intended for the vertical transport of sheep to and from the ground floor. Do not use if you can help it, or are short of time, or value your life. Its rumored staff in reception receive special training to keep a strait face as you ascend in a Plexiglas box at the rate of aprox. 1 inch per minuet; while an ancient AC motor grinds mechanically away. From the Landing it is an easy walk to a pharmacy, post office, liquor store, NAPA, grocery and ferry terminal or airport ferry. I will unfortunately stay here again. I would generally not recommend this hotel.

    « Nice Stay »

Nice clean place to stay. Room and bed where nice and comfortable, good resturant. A little far from Creek Street area but very close to the airport. Price seemed a bit high butbetter than any oyher place in town.

« Nice place to stay »

We stayed here for two nights before continuing to a local fishing resort and one night upon our return to town prior to catching our flight home. The hotel covers all bases, large clean rooms with Keurig coffee makers, two restaurants and a bar. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful and make sure that you get taken care of. They have a complimentary shuttle that will take you to and from the ferry to the local airport AND anywhere else you would like to go to in town, this is a great service! Friendly staff, clean accommodations and a nice pub - I recommend it.

    5
    « Cozy Fireplace! »

The Executive Suite room (304) comes with a King size bed, fridge, microwave, Wi-Fi, desk, Flat-screen tv with numerous channels, balcony, two chairs AND...a fireplace! Sooooo cozy. And, if the room gets too hot from using the fireplace, it also comes with two fans. We LOVED the fireplace feature. When we arrived in Ketchikan, surprise - (not) it was raining! We turned on the fireplace and dreary became cozy. Large picture window. the balcony was fun to go out and watch for eagles (all over the place) We were hoping for a whale sighting but no luck. The hotel is conveniently located by the airport/ferry and the hotel provides free shuttle service to the airport and to the downtown area (be sure to leave a tip for the wonderful drivers) There is a Safeway located within walking distance (about 15 minutes) and an AP Store up the street. Be sure to check out the remodeled Tatsuda's IGA for a local feel. There is a restaurant located in the hotel (The Landing Restaurant) and a Pub upstairs. There is a small business center if you need computer usage. Friendly staff who are very helpful.

    5
    « Great Stay »

We had a great 2 night stay here. The staff was very friendly, they have guest laundry, and two good restaurants within. Additionally, the complimentary shuttle was a HUGE convenience and much appreciated. Everyone was very accommodating. My only critique is that the service in the restaurants is very slow. We would definitely stay again and I would definitely recommend.

    5
« Well Located to all Activities »

The hotel is located centrally and close to the Ferry Service, Airport, Float Boat tours, and downtown attractions. We had a rental car but the hotel provides transportation to the downtown area as their van was always filled with guests going to nearby attractions. The hotel has a family restaurant located on the ground floor with a bar and restaurant on the second level. You can order from either menu. The hotel upgraded us with a very large and nice room that was very comfortable for our 3 day visit to Ketchikan. The staff was very helpful in recommending attractions to visit. Being centrally located was a plus as we were able to go either direction (North or South) while being out of the downtown area.

    4
« Well located, especially for North End visits »

I lived in Ketchikan for three decades, ending just a couple of years ago, so I knew of the hotels and knew of The Landing's convenience though I had not been in the rooms. It is the hotel we chose when we came back with family to visit. Our room, a one-bed king, was very spacious and clean. It had windows on two sides -- one with a view of Tongass Narrows, the other facing the parking lot. I'd feared it would be noisy but (except for one morning when a few enthusiastic fishermen were awaiting their transportation and chatting very loudly between 5 and 6 a.m.), it was remarkably quiet. The staff was extremely accommodating. We had a few minor inconveniences -- needed maintenance to come deal with a toilet, and sometimes the room wasn't made up until we asked, although our "please make up the room" sign was hanging on the door -- but the instant we mentioned wanting anything, someone was on it, cheerfully and efficiently. Ketchikan is very expensive, so the price seemed high but was, in this town in this season, reasonable. If one had many things to do downtown, the hotel's shuttle would take one there (which would probably be better than driving and trying to park during the tourist season). The downtown, hilltop hotel we'd also considered, while beautiful, would not have been as good a pick because the tram is out of service. It's a long steep walk down to anything -- or a ridiculously short cab ride. So we were especially glad we chose The Landing instead. The price of the Landing was also more reasonable when we were making our reservation. We had a car, and parking was no problem. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel. There is also a restaurant attached, and a bar/grill on the second floor. One can order from either the bar menu or the restaurant menu most of the time in the bar.

    5
    « Location and food »

Great location for Ferry Service, Airport and Float Plane Tours. Hotel provides transportation to the downtown shopping area. Food is very good with a large selection of items choose from. We used the down stairs restaurant for breakfast and the upstairs bar/restaurant for dinner.

    4
    « Consistently good »

I have stayed in this hotel many times and it experience is consistently good. Nice rooms, good location, shuttle service, helpful staff. Small but well appointed gym. Restaurant offers typical bar food - nothing special. Good beer selection.

    5
« Awesome place to stay »

My husband and I enjoyed our three day stay while in Ketchikan. The room was very clean and furnished nicely. It was quiet and we didn't hear any other customers. The restaurant attached serves great food. We ate nearly all our morning/afternoon meals there. The view we had wasn't spectacular because it looked out to the back of the fire station but we weren't there for the view. We were very happy.

    4
    « Stranded »

Very clean room with good access for my pet to use outside. Free shuttle to Airport, Wal-Mart with great drivers. Very nice front desk staff. Two restaurants on site with pretty good food and great wait staff.

    « New Job Orientation »

I checked in May 22 thru May26th checking out the morning of May 27, 2016. My training was at Peace Health Ketchikan Medical Center. Best Western was close so I was able to walk to work. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the landing diner had very good food. My over all stay was great. My room was quiet and comfortable.

« Were treated like royalty all four days, from the shuttle drivers (special kudo's to Johnny), the front desk, and all. »

Were treated like royalty all four days, from the shuttle drivers (special kudo's to Johnny), the front desk, and all. Room was top rate, and befitting a 4-5 star hotel. Restaurant was first class with great food, especially great wait staff, Had complete access to Ketchikan via the shuttle, with very helpful and friendly/courteous drivers.

    3
« Nice hotel, noisy and hot room »

We had a great room with sitting area and fire but it faced the street and it was so loud with traffic all night long. There was no thermostat to adjust temperature and we had to open the window which added to noise level. I would stay here again and try for a quieter room.

    5
« Good place to stay »

Great staff, very welcoming type of hotel. Dinner somewhat overpriced, but fine food and outstanding service. Room had a view, and was clean and quite large, and would recommend staying here if you're in Ketchikan.

    5
« Terrific staff that genuinely cares »

This hotel is amazing! Conveniently located north of the hustle and noise of downtown. Very clean, comfy and did I mention the staff? The shuttle drivers (free), front desk, management, restaurant servers and housekeeping staff are very polite and accommodating. The Landing will always be the hotel of choice when I am in Ketchikan, I have stayed here dozens of times and feel everyone here is family. You won't regret your decision to make The Landing your hotel of choice.

    4
« Good digs in Ketch »

Friendly staff; adequate facilities, convenient location, great area. I spent seven weeks in Ketchikan working at the hospital and enjoying daily trips in the area - driving all the roads on the island and flight seeing in Misty Fjords Nat. Monument.

    5
    « Great Place for a stay! »

After having lived in Ketchikan for some 11 years, I decided to return for a short stay, and remembering the hotels in Ketchikan decided to stay here. I found it a wonderful place to stay, the room was excellent, the staff was super friendly, and the attached restaurant was great, with another very friendly staff. I would recommend the Landing to anyone who wishes to travel and stay in Ketchikan!

    4
« Very nice. Very comfortable. »

This hotel has been nicely upgraded. It is very clean, with good quality linens, and comfortable bed. Lots of nice in-room extras, too. The 300 wing room I stayed in did not have good hot water though. It ran a long time before the shower was hot enough. Very good service from the staff and delicious food. Complimentary shuttle was an appreciated amenity. Recommended.

    4
« Very nice upgrade since last year »

This hotel did a significant upgrade since I was there a year ago. The rooms are very nice; furniture is comfortable; internet is fast enough for work. (No change to the exercise facility though - it's adequate) The hotel shuttle is available at no charge to the airport ferry dock, the State ferry dock and to the downtown core (tourism or shopping). I gather that they will take guests other places but I didn't need other transportation since I was working at a medical clinic within easy walking distance. Staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel restaurant was good even though it was still the off-season. The waitresses were prompt and very pleasant.

    4
« Great to have an eatery on site »

Rooms are lovely, even the low rent district. Beds are very comfortable. If anything room was a bit warm all night but didn't get up to check if there was an option. Coffee in eatery was much, much better than in room. Suggestions, a night light and better coffee. Will be back.

    5
« Only Place We Stay in Ketchikan »

This hotel is very comfortable, clean, and with great customer service. It is the only place we stay when we go to Ketchikan. The shuttle service around town is very helpful. I feel like employees go the extra mile to make sure customers have a comfortable stay.

  • 5
    « Great location »

Business trip to the Ketchikan Medical Center, can not beat the location. The service is superb, and the staff are very accommodating. The van takes you to the ferry dock and if necessary to the Hospital, and I assume other locations.

    3
« Not the best stay »

I stay at The Landing every time I am in Ketchikan (3-5 times a year). This time the hotel fell short. After my first night, housekeeping did not come to my room. It was not vacuumed, trash taken, restocked, etc. That was disappointing and surprising to me. Front desk staff came and got my trash and the manager was sure to have them come the next day. I had to get a new key daily, as mine invariably kept stopping working. I am not sure why, and neither was the front desk. Not a huge deal, but a hassle to have to keep walking back and forth to get that remedied. The door also sticks quite badly, making it hard to key in even with a working key. I will still be back, because I like the location, the friendly staff, and the generally clean rooms, this time just wasn't the best.

    5
    « Perfection »

From the time I called to make my reservation through the time I checked out at the front desk, the service at this hotel was incredible. Honest people being warm and friendly to their guests the whole time. The attached diner made finding a place to eat effortless and the staff there was just as wonderful. Anytime I needed to go somewhere a complimentary shuttle was provided. I had two different drivers and both of them were happy and pleasant. As I went to check out, one of the cleaning crew left the room she was cleaning to help someone with their bags because she noticed they were struggling. That's great service. Whenever I go to Ketchikan, this is where I will stay.

« Best Western The Landing Hotel Ketchikan »

My husband and I travel to Ketchikan quite a bit and this is by far our favorite hotel to stay in when in Ketchikan. The employees are so good and very helpful. They go out of their way to help the customers. The Hotel is always clean and beds are comfortable

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant offers good food at a reasonable price and the courtesy shuttle takes you anywhere you need to go. Can't say enough about how easy that's my frequent work trips. Keep up the good work Best Western!

    « Wonderful »

The hotel was great, everything inside the hotel. The restaurant food was excellent. The the biggest recommendation is the staff, they went above and beyond.. I would stay there again just for that. The hotel is in an excellent spot to explore Ketchikan.

    « Excellent »

This had to be the most welcoming and homey hotel that we have ever stayed in and we travel a lot for business. Everyone from the desk to the waitresses in the connected restaurant were absolutely FABULOUS!

« Very Nice In Every Way »

I travel on business a lot and have stayed and all kinds of hotels and bed-and-breakfasts and this hotel ranks right up there at the top. My room is very nice and they even upgraded me to a suite. The bed is comfy, the Keurig coffee pot is a nice bonus, everything is very clean, convenient room for someone who is here on business. There was a mixup with my check out which was not their fault at all but they comped me with a breakfast in the restaurant. I was impressed with the restaurant, it was a very busy on a Saturday morning, but my service was excellent and the food was very good with such a large portion it could have fed two people! This hotel will definitely be my go to place when I have to work in Ketchikan.

    « Surprised »

Missed flights results in impromptu stay in Ketchikan. We had eaten in their restaurant many times and liked their food and loved the service. But I had no idea of the quality rooms. We had pets so we aren't used to such never sparkly clean rooms, complete with K cups for coffee, frig n microwave, and ROBEs! Dog park close with easy access from the rooms. But best of all is the shuttle service. With 10 minutes warning they take you anywhere. ...with great drivers.

« Central Location, Central to the Fun »

The location of the Best Western PLUS, Landing Hotel is ideal for anyone flying into Ketchikan, AK as it is just a few blocks south of the airport ferry terminal, easily within walking (...or a short cab ride) distance. It's also about a mile or so from downtown Ketchikan if one wanted to escape the crowds from the Cruise Ships docked there and find a little quiet time. One could also head the other direction from town and find some well maintained hiking paths that follow natural water falls, cold running streams, cook-out areas and camping sites. So the LANDING's central location gives folks a quiet location to either head into the downtown hustle & bustle -or- get in touch with Alaskan nature trails. Our room had an easy-on, easy-off gas-fueled fire place which took the chill out of the room quickly and added a bit of romance. The hotel itself is clean and modern with many amenities. It also feature a unique Diner downstairs and a Pub upstairs offering a wide variety of food and drink.

As always the service, cleanliness and convenience were all exceptional! We always stay here in Ketchikan and compared to the others they are bar none the best place around. Highly, highly recommended!

« A Great Place to Stay in Ketchikan! »

I stay here often and have never been disappointed. The rooms are always clean, the beds comfortable and having a refrigerator and microwave in every room is a big plus. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

« Staff makes all the difference and they are great! »

Wow! What a great staff! Sorry to be so late rating this property (our stay was in Sept.), but warm memories still linger months later. This hotel would be your standard Best Western Plus, with an acceptable restaurant, but the staff from manager, to desk clerks, driver (and his entertaining wit and wardrobe) and wait staff put it over the top. Our group experience was wonderful and we would not consider another property in Ketchikan. Many thanks to the warmest of staffs in the northernmost state. We will return.

« Complimentary Robe Was a Nice Touch! »

The Landing was conveniently located for what I needed to do the next day. Having a Keurig in the room was handy, fresh coffee when I wanted it. Very clean room. Lots of pillows to choose from too. Restaurant serves great food, with a side of "wonderful service". The Owners can really take pride in this establishment!

« Just an average place to stay. »

The place is out dated and showing wear and tear. Getting into lobby with a suitcase is an adventure in itself. Lots of stairs and small area. The restaurant is wonderful with great staff. The bar/lounge serves about the same food, so it is good also. Did not find the staff up there to be as good as in the restaurant.

« Nice, comfortable, and great service »

Everything was very clean and well kept. Service was excellent: front desk, restaurants, shuttle, and cleaning staff. Especially liked the free shuttle anywhere within city limits (granted Ketchikan isn't that big, but it is long and 2mi to get downtown).

« Best hotel in Ketchikan »

This hotel is located close to the airport ferry and across the street from the state ferry dock. About a mile from downtown where the tourist flock. Clean and comfortable with a GREAT diner and a decent restaurant / bar.

« Land at the Landing »

Linda Peters and Mylene are always very helpful. They go above and beyond each time we stay at the Landing in Ketchikan, Alaska. Staff does a great job keeping the rooms clean and well stocked. The rooms are spacious and come with a fridge, coffee & coffee maker and speedy wi-fi service. The Best Western Plus Landing Hotel is hard to beat.

« Always feels like family »

The Best Western Landing hotel is second to none. Customer service is always top notch and you will want for nothing when staying here. Staying in the newer section is the way to go. My room is always clean and I enjoy the free internet.

    « Comfortable! »

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was comfortable and quiet! I didnt get to have breakfast for the nights I have stayed there, but I did check out the bar. :) At check out, a front desk girl by the name of Mylene ( I might have spelled her name wrong) was very helpful! Wonderful staff! Room was spacious & comfortable! If I were to ever go back, I would definitely stay there again! Thank you!

« Good Basic Hotel in Ketchikan »

I stayed here one night while in transit to Petersburg to start a cruise. They will pick you up at the "ferry terminal" - basically just a couple of little buildings where the ferry lands from the airport. The hotel van will also take you to WalMart. You can walk to the main part of Ketchikan from this hotel, although it is at least a mile and not that pleasant if it is raining. It was raining hard and steadily when I got there (no surprise) and I was leaving in the morning anyway so I didn't go out. The hotel restaurant was very good. The room was clean and quiet. If you decide to make this your Ketchikan hotel for a longer visit I recommend renting a car.

    « Reliable »

Reliable stay even during heavy on-going events in town. Convenient to client and airport/ferry. Food is always good and service excellent. Wi-Fi is convenient and accessible though slow at times. Always my choice of stay in Ketchikan.

    « Another excellent stay! »

The Best Western Landing is the BEST hotel in Ketchikan! The biggest part of that is due to a wonderful and oh, so helpful staff! And of course, a very comfy room and bed. Great workout facility. Van rides to and from downtown are appreciated! Need I say more? Look no more. The Landing really is the best in all of Ketchikan!

« Week of 11/6/2015 Stay at the Landing Hotel in Ketchikan »

I try to stay at the Landing every time I come to Ketchikan. I come to Ketchikan for business 2 or 3 times a year. The hotel and staff are wonderful with a real attention to detail. The restaurant is great. All the amenities are top shelf. Happy Traveler Terry

    « Best in Town »

The room was very clean, staff was top notch!! Beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel is centrally located to Ferry Terminal and Airport, plus there is a market within walking distance. The shuttle provides rides to pretty much anywhere in town. We will be returning to this hotel. If I had to state one con it would be the elevator location: You have to walk with luggage all the way to the back of the hotel and climb a set of narrow stairs to reach the elevator.

    « the landing »

I always look forward to staying at the Landing, the rooms are great and the restaurant has good food. It is across the street from the shipyard and the ferry terminal. The rooms are always clean and Phillip at the front desk always is friendly. My company sets up my rooms and Ketchikan is the best out of town duty due to the Landing Hotel.

« Delightful Four Day Retreat »

The room was very nice, spacious, clean, and well equipped. It was well situated for our needs and parking was not a problem. The restaurant was good. We arrived on an early flight well before normal check-in times and were able to secure a room immediately. We checked out early in the morning and were offered secure storage for our luggage until our flight departed later in the day. This was a very good place to stay.

« Quiet after the ships are gone »

I like this time of the year in Ketchikan. No cruse ships and no crazy tourists. The warmth and charm of the BW Landing allows you to take time to meet the folks in Ketchikan. Very close to the airport ferry dock!

« Pleasant rooms & amenities for business travel »

The staff was helpful, nice and professional. The food was above average for this part of Alaska. The bed was very comfortable and the room had good internet and everything worked properly. I would stay here again!

« Great Service, Nice Room »

I recently spent 5 nights at the Best Western in Ketchikan for business. The staff was very accomodating and the shuttle service was the best I have ever seen. They took us everywhere, we did not use a taxi once in 6 days. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

« Well appointed, friendly, and comfortable. »

There are so many nice things to say, it is hard to begin. 9 of us traveled for work. The hotel staff picked us up and shuttled us to dinner and work daily. As time permitted the took us out for other needs. The hotel is very quiet on the back side. The rooms are clean and in good repair. The hotel has a restaurant and diner on site for convenience and it is good. The location is just a few blocks from the ferry landing from the airport.

« Wonderful Staff Beautiful People »

« Great Time in Ketchikan »

Normally I stay at the Cape Fox and this year I thought I would try the Best Western. Hands down I will be staying at the Best Western Plus Landing Hotel from hence forward. Great customer services and wonderful rooms!

    « Best Hotel »

This is the best hotel in Ketchikan, AK. If you are traveling back and forth or just stopping in for a visit this is the place to stay at. It is so convenient with its shuttle and location next to the ferry terminal and airport. It also has 2 restaurants in the hotel and has a grocery store shopping mall a block over. You do not need their shuttle, but its nice to have if you want to venture further out. The cleanliness and comfort is also bar none. My advice is to book here so you have no regrets later.

    « Well done »

I arrived in Ketchikan after a long business flight. Due to a communication glitch, the driver of the courtesy van left me standing at the airport ferry for 45 minutes so by the time I arrived at the hotel I was somewhat overwrought (tired and nearly in tears). The front desk staff upgraded my room to a suite with no request from me. I so appreciated their kindness and rested well that night. The room was great, the food at the restaurant satisfying and I will be staying there again on my next trip.

Very helpful and friendly hotel and restaurant staff - nice comfortable room. Breakfast will last you all day! Close to airport ferry so need to rent a car - shuttle bus will take you anywhere you want to go in town.

« Decent lodging near ferry »

This is a clean, comfortable motel literally across the street from the AMHS ferry terminal. Very convenient for ferry travelers, less so if your interest is primarily downtown. They do operate a shuttle van, but we had our own vehicle so had no experience with it. The attached restaurant was also good without being fancy. Parking is a bit limited, with about half of it in a garage that is too low for anything taller than a standard passenger car. (Our minivan with a Yakima box on top was too tall.)

« Thank you for helping me during a time of distress »

My husband and I were both sick and had to be taken off the cruise ship. He ended up in the hospital. I cannot express my gratitude to your staff and the waitresses in the restaurant who helped me during this time. I had a bronchial infection and they gave me tea and honey and cough drops to help soothe my discomfort while I was there going back and forth to the hospital. The drivers of the shuttle were wonderful to me. I cannot thank everyone enough for making me feel safe and comfortable during this very stressful time . I will always remember your kindness

« Beds uncomfortable and smoky restaurant »

Mattresses in beds need to be replaced, even in the "newer" portion of hotel. The lobby and restaurant is smokey and dated. The location is excellent for proximity to ferries, but is a couple miles from downtown, so you will need to take hotel shuttle or rent a car. Would recommend renting a car. There are other hotels closer to downtown.
