BEST WESTERN On the River,Hannibal

    « Perfect location. »

This hotel is perfectly located for downtown Hannibal & the Mark Twain attractions. Other than that it's just what I'd expect from a Best Western - comfortable, clean room, decent breakfast, ample parking & friendly staff. We were in the building across from the main building, which is a little bit "sterile" in atmosphere, but otherwise just fine. Pricewise, somewhat expensive for what it is, but the location makes it worth the price.

« Centrally located for easy walking in Hannibal »

The hotel is an older motel but everything was spic and span and updated. The central lobby had a pool and all the rooms opened inward so as to see pool....even the upper floors. There was a slight smell of chlorine in the lobby but not the rooms. They enforced a 9pm pool closing so it was quiet. The staff was courteous and breakfast was good. Parking was somewhat tight. The motel put you in easy walking distance of most local attractions. I would stay here again.

    « Late Fall trip »

Excellent location for seeing sights in Hannibal, especially if you have an interest in Mark Twain. Staff is very courteous, and attentive. Hotel is very clean, with a nice hot breakfast to start a day.

    « Comfortable stay »

Our room was exactly as we expected it to be. We stayed at the back of the hotel as others thought the trains were too loud on the front. Our room was very quiet. This hotel is within walking distance of the Mark Twain attractions downtown and also right across the street from the visitor's center.

    « Mark Twain Visit »

Parking is a problem, very limited. Entrance area is only one car wide. Meal: eggs were not hot, Milk was sour and OJ was weak. We complained and we received a fresh milk, and the OJ was refilled. Bed was comfortable, room was quiet, and staff was extra helpful and friendly. . Clean and nice decorations. The were painting the front wall as we were leaving, which will give a much nicer look to the front of the building..

« Located right in the "Mark Twain" district »

Clean and good comfortable bed and pillows. Easy access to food and attractions. Back rooms of the hotel would be the quietest, we were on the bottom floor in the corner and not any issues with being disturbed. Would stay there again if in the area.

    5
    « Great Hotel »

A great hotel. VERY clean, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We didn't use the pool, but it looked nice with chairs placed around the perimeter. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful. The selection had something for everyone. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again. We asked for a river view room and they were able to accommodate us.

    « amazing stay »

This would be an amazing stay for couples. When I went with !y family, we were lucky enough to have a river facing room. That night there was a full moon and the view was gorgeous. Very romantic. Ask for a river facing room. Nice staff, close to everything. Diner across the street. Indoor pool and hot tub.

    4
« Nice and close to all the Mark Twain buildings and attractions »

This hotel isn't on the river but you can actually see the Mississippi from your room if it's facing the street. It's just a short walk down the road to see all the nicely done buildings and museums dedicated to Mark Twain. The hotel has a pool and hot tub inside it's fully covered "court yard". The trains that are passing by at night will make themselves known. You can't really escape that in Hannibal, no matter where you stay. Breakfast is ok with a better than average selection of hot items, too. I can certainly recommend this place. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and there's ample parking on the side of the building.

« Great location; nice stay »

The Best Western isn't right on the river, but it is close enough. Located just up the street from Tom Sawyer's boyhood home, it is perfectly situated as a base for walking around and seeing the sights of downtown. Our room was quite comfortable even though we faced the street. It was well insulated from sound; we only heard the occasional motorcycle roaring by despite being on a major road through downtown. One issue with the room, however is the lack of brightness of the room lights (a common complaint of ours). Most hotels seem to want to save on electricity rather than have a room bright enough to read in. Breakfast was the standard "complementary" fare. Cereal, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, etc. The quality was fine, but the serving trays were annoying and a bit unsanitary. The plastic tops above each tray kept slipping into the food whenever you open them, so you got your food, plus potentially a bit of whatever the person before you had on their hands when they replaced the top. This should be an easy fix, so we were surprised to see that it hadn't been corrected. Minor problems aside, this is a fine place to establish your base so you can explore Hannibal.

    « Location! »

If you are in the Hannibal area for fun, this is the place for you! Centrally located near all the Mark Twain activities and shops of downtown, this is a walk away from it all. Across the street from Mark Twain Dinette, it is right on the main drag. Clean, good staff, quiet and a great view of the Mississippi River. Down side: it is right on North 3rd St. and you will hear traffic and occasional train. Also, the pool closes at 9pm and breakfast was "okay".

    « Nice Hotel »

We stayed overnight here on our trip down the Great River Road. I booked it online. It was very easy to find. Signs pointed directly to it. At checkin I asked if we had a room with a River view and they had already put with a great one on the corner of the hotel. This was awesome as we had windows on 2 sides. The room was very clean, bedding was first class . Big fluffy towels, big deep soaker bath tub. The lobby has a lot of seating area for lounging complete with 2 big tables and chairs. The pool and hot tub are sparkling clean and in the center of the hotel. Check in was great. Breakfast in the morning was taken care of by a fellow that was very proud of his service and cooking. It was great. He welcomed everyone and explained all the selections. This is a first class best western. The room we wanted and got had an awesome view of the river. One drawback was the noise. A number of trains went by during the night and they blow their whistle at every crossing. We also were on a very busy highway and the big trucks slow down for the corner then speed up for the hill. Very noisy for us so if that kind of thing bothers you ask for a room on the back side.

    « "Still Hannibal's Best!" donna d. Las Vegas,NV. »

Are you kidding me? Where do I start? My room looked South and East on the quiet end of the third floor,so I got to view the Lord's sunrise and sunset overlooking the Mississippi River every day! I could easily walk in the historic district or by the river as well; I am not an energetic youth,so this is a lovely location. Grace,Michelle,Jeff,Kara,Austin, and all other names I did not get were just excellent, friendly, and helpful. Also,I can't leave chef Carl out,who used to work on a cruise ship! He is as hardworking and friendly as ever, and I love the daily breakfast he turns out. Environmental services were excellent, too, and so friendly. I just love the people here, who really make a difference and always go the extra mile-with a smile! Thankyou all so very much; you are Hannibal's best!

« Great Location In Hannibal. »

Very nice hotel. Rooms have just been updated. Breakfast bar is pretty good. The location is perfect. We walked to almost every thing in Hannibal (shops, restaurants, mansion tour) We were there during the Folklife Festival and enjoyed that too.

« Enjoyable stay in Hannibal, Mo »

Hannibal is a fascinating place to visit. I was able to stay only one day and a night but would love to go back and when I do I will stay again at the Best Western On the River for it certainly is. I had A BIRDS EYE view of downtown and the river from my hotel window. It was sure fun to watch the people but even more fun to watch the tug boats and barges going up and down the river. I highly recommend this hotel to all who love a river view.

    2
« Not worth the stay »

I came to Hannibal on a business trip and after reading several reviews I decided this hotel would probably be the best one in the area. There were two front desk receptionists when I checked in, one was very friendly and seemed somewhat new to her position, and the other was not very friendly at all, she wasn't engaging and seemed to be in a rush to get rid of me. The room was mostly clean, with the exception of nail clippings on the carpet next to the bathroom. The bed was very old and not very comfortable. The one thing that bothered me the most, and is the primary reason for the poor rating is the ridiculously loud trains that sound like they go by every hour all through the night. I didn't pass any train tracks, none of the reviews I read mentioned any noise from the trains, and I most certainly was not made aware of the trains by the front desk staff! I definitely don't recommend this hotel and will stay somewhere else if I ever have to come back to Hannibal.

    « Mini Family Vaca »

Excellent location and easy access to walk to all of downtown Hannibal. The hotel is well maintained and clean. It feels very homey and comfortable. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise and had several choices. The front desk staff is very pleasant and helpful!

« Mark Twain was my neighbor »

This property is just steps away from everything Twain. I could see Mark Twain's home from my window?or at least I could have if it weren't for other buildings in the way. Restaurants, bars, and historic sites are all within walking distance. The room was clean but the free breakfast left a little to be desired. I think it was designed to be just like the food Mark Twain's ate.

    5
    « Fall Arts Festival »

This hotel was the best pick for the weekend. It was walking distance from the Fall Festival and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. There is a nice breakfast buffet and the rooms are sparkling.

« Very pleased with our stay »

Were planning a weekend trip to Hannibal and had no preference of hotels, just wanted something that sounded close to restaurants and shops. This hotel was ideal; there is a diner right across the street and other eating establishments either within walking distance or a short drive away.

« REALLY, REALLY NICE EXPERIENCE »

This is one of those genuinely friendly and well run places that you like to share with others. The front desk clerk was knowlegible and proud of his town and recommended a great walkable place for dinner. Our room was on the atrium with the pool and we were a bit concerned about noise. No problem as the pool is not open at night or early in the am - and the rooms (Hilton quality) are very sound proofed. The full breakfast (free) had a lot of variety (including no gluten) and was good. Hannibel is in a region with lots of smokers, which makes this all-no smoking hotel a great chòice for us. Great location; very short walk to river and attractions.

    4
    « Nice place »

Our stay was very nice. We were close to the festival going on in downtown Hannibal, MO and were able to walk to whatever we chose to do. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The Internet worked great and was easy to connect to. We did not use the pool but it looked very nice and clean. The lobby was well maintained and offered large tables for groups to get together in the evening. The hot breakfast was fairly good with a nice variety of items.

    4
« Perfect Location and Great Staff »

We had a lovely time in Hannibal. The location of the Best Western was perfect. It is an older hotel and could use a little sprucing but the staff were great. The room was clean and comfortable. We would stay again.

    4
« Great location and helpful staff »

Located very close to old downtown Hannibal and Mark Twain exhibits. Quiet except for an occasional train -- didn't hear any after 9 or 10 o'clock PM though. Room was a good size and everything was ready for our stay.

    5
« Great Place to stay »

Our room was very spacious, clean. The bed very comfortable and they had an excellent hot breakfast. Excellent location for easy walking to the Mark Twain boyhood home and downtown and to the riverfront. Would most certainly stay there again.

    5
« Great Place To Stay »

Although this was just a stop over for the night we plan to go back for a weekend. Rooms were very clean and quiet. Front desk clerk was friendly and informative. The breakfast was the best I have had for a free breakfast at a hotel.

    « Hannibal »

A city is disrepair. So sad to see the derelict condition of an important site. Mark Twain is an icon in American history. His city composed of beautiful old buildings that are in derelict condition. I will not return unless the state takes an interest in preserving these old glorious buildings.

    « Excellent motel/super breakfast. »

This is a great place to stay in Hannibal . Location is within an easy walk to tourist stuff. Three blocks up from the river. The room was very quiet. Ours had an extremely quiet a/c controlled by a wall thermostat. Indoor pool inner atrium set up. The BEST breakfast: Selection. Freshness. Breakfast area. Totally impressed with this place. Super comfortable bed. Great wifi. Would definitely stay again.

    « Stopover »

Stopped in Hannibal Mo on way to visit in Kansas. Hotel was located downtown and near a lot of museums and restaurants. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. Room was roomy had had a great view of the Mississippi River.

    « Loved this Hotel »

This hotel was more than what we expected. We requested a river view, which it was stretching it, but we did get it. But, we were amazed at how nice our room was. The room was huge. 2 King sized beds, a sofa & the bathroom was beautiful. The whole room was very pretty. The breakfast that was included was delicious. They served scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, fruit, and more. The location was perfect. Walking distance to the historic district. We were more than pleased

    « Very satisfied »

This hotel is everything that was advertised. We were very happy with the room and all the amenities. The only thing that was a little disappointing is that the breakfast room is not large enough and the line for the buffet is very slow moving. Might I suggest that the buffet be moved to the center of the room thereby allowing guests to use both sides of the buffet. Staff was very friendly and helpful..Very nice hotel, I made the right choice.

    4
« Visiting Hannibal? Perfect Location. »

Walking into the 3-story hotel, we first noted the chlorine smell from the indoor pool. Thankfully, that dissipated Our room, on the third floor, was comfortable and large. Our river river view was tough due to the dirty window. Inside of the room was very clean, however. Decent breakfast, helpful staff, excellent location near Twain sites and shopping - especially if you're into quilting.

    4
    « Hannibal Best Western »

The new building next door to main hotel is less than 2 years old and very nice. "Free" Breakfast is average for it's kind. Easy walking distance to downtown Hannibal for food, drink and shopping. Nice people!

    2
« Best Western on the River is NOT on the river »

Couple of days ago we stayed at this hotel. The name is very deceiving...it is not on the river, but 2 or 3 blocks away. We did get a river view, BUT, the windows were so messed us...cloudy glass...you could only see out in about a 1/4 of the window. Also, the door did not close unless you kind of lifted it as you closed it. Except for the lady at check in, the personnel kept their heads down and were not very friendly.

    5
« Best in the area »

The accommodations were excellent, the staff was first class, and the location was ideal. I'll look forward to my next stay here and won't hesitate to adjust my schedule in order make that happen. The location was very convenient to access from Int 72 and US Hwy 61.

    3
    « Very Convenient location »

Our room on the third floor of the new building had a nice view of the river. The room was quite large and the bathroom clean and adequate. Free wifi was appreciated. Nothing fancy about this hotel, just the basics, but the room did have microwave and small frig. Main complaint is that the room and hallways had a strange smell. It might have been from new carpet but it was a chemically and unpleasant odor that permeated everything.

    4
« Solid Value Excellent Location »

I stayed here because of the brand on the first night of my trip and stayed again on the way home because of the hotel itself. The location is ideal for visiting the historic downtown on the river and if that's not interesting to you, there's an excellent diner across the street. There are two separate buildings to this holel. I stayed in the older, original building. The newer expansion is across the side street. My building was ready for a cosmetic upgrade, but everything was clean, comfortable and functional. The bed must have been newer; it slept like a dream. The layout of the older building made me think it might be a noisy night - it's the old style of rooms facing an interior courtyard with the swimming pool in the middle. (All indoors). That usually means screaming echos, but there was a sign about hours and quiet times and I was lucky because the hotel was filled with two buses of seniors on a trip. They must have gone to bed at 10 because I did hear people talking around the pool, but it was perfectly quiet by 10. Everything worked: TV, WiFi, Lamps, Shower. The remote was ready for a new battery, but overall I had no problems. There were plenty of luggage carts, the staff was helpful, efficient and polite. The breakfast was plentiful: eggs, potatoes, meat, gravy, fruit, breads, waffles, yogurts. There was plenty of space to sit, even with a full house. I heard that the outdoor pool was wonderful, but I didn't see it. I did wander the neighborhood for 5 or six blocks to stop in the various shops and museum attractions. There was plenty of refreshment options: restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, ice cream, fudge and a tiny general store. I ate at the Mark Twain diner across the street twice. It was very nice. The directions to the hotel seemed confusing but once I got there and then left again, it was pretty clear that all roads lead to and from Hiway 61. Very easy the 2nd time. I will definitely stay again - excellent value for the price.

    « Very warm. »

Drove to the area for a meeting.when I checked in no one at the front desk mentioned an air conditioning problem.i noticed the fan in my room.thinking that was odd.I set the air and left.at 9:30 pm upon my return to room,I noticed how hot it was in there.was informed by desk that indeed the air was broken.and there were no other rooms.

Excellent hotel. Have stayed before and enjoyed. Nice pools/hottub. Very comfortable and great location. Enjoyed breakfast and was very comfortable bed/temperature of room. Only place I stay when I have come to Hannibal.

    « Girls get-a-way weekend. »

The hotel has 2 sections. We stayed in the newer bldg on 2nd floor. Room was very clean, staff was friendly and it's walking distance to about everything you would want to see and do. The outdoor pool was the best I have enjoyed at a motel/hotel stay. Pristine!! My only disappointment is the name of the hotel is misleading. This hotel is NOT on the river. There is a street, then a row of businesses, then another street, then another row of bussinesses......THEN the river. We could only see a tiny sliver of the river from our room. I don't know how much difference there would have been if we would have stayed on the 3rd floor. If you truly want a room with a river view this isn't it. However; overall, it was a great stay!

    « Visitor »

Room was clean but the bed was way to hard for my liking. Staff was rude and unaccommodating. Needed an early check in desk clerk, on both shifts, just said no. Not lets see what we can do or no I sorry just no. To busy to smile. Did not get the feeling they liked or wanted tourists in their historic little town.

    5
« Nice hotel with lovely staff »

They couldn't do enough for us. So obliging. Hotel is in the centre if town and ideally placed for just about everything. Quiet. Nice and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and nice to eat. Pools looked nice though sadly didn't have time to try. Very happy

    4
    « Great Room... »

We were assigned to a room in the newer building which was great, spacious, and well appointed with two King beds; the hotel is centrally located near restaurants and Mark Twain attractions. The bed was extremely comfortable. The only negative for us was the almost non-existent wifi connection in the room which is important as internet connection without it is almost non-existent in the town. The wifi connection was much better in the older building where the front desk is located. We would still stay here on our next trip to Hannibal; the facilities are great and very relaxing.

    4
    « Nice »

The room we had was in the building next door. It was a very nice room, and an excellent bed. The next time we will stay here again, but we will eat breakfast elsewhere. The buffet layout created lots of waiting, and congestion. The food was fair, at best.

    3
« Nice room but very loud! »

The room was very nice and the location is great! The gentleman who runs the breakfast was passionate about providing good food and service as well. However, the courtyard concept inside the building with the rooms looking down on a swimming pool inside on one side and a gathering area with tables and TV etc. on the other made for a VERY loud and late night despite the pool closing a 10:00 pm!

    4
    « Great River View »

We stayed in the newer building right in the middle on the third floor. Got to watch the river boat and barges go by. Nice room with sufficient amenities. Bed was very comfortable. You couldn't ask for a more convenient location to visit Hannibal. So much better than staying on the Highway!

    4
« Ejoyable trip to Hannibal »

We were very happy with our recent stay, the only thing we were disappointed with was the times for the pool/hot tub. 9 to 9 can be a little hard to fit in when you're out site seeing. We did make it to the pool and weren't impressed. The hot tub had very little power behind the jets, just lightly swirling hot water. The pool was nearly as warm as the hot tub, not cool and refreshing. We would certainly consider staying again. One thing that we found funny, the mirror in the bathroom in 223 really needs to be straighten. whoever installed it needs a level.

    4
    « Easy walking distance »

Within a couple blocks of most tourist venues and many restaurants. Clean, comfortable, nice room, a little crowded. 2 separate buildings, indoor pool only in main.Take your own pillows. Their new ones are too big for comfort.

    5
« Great location, Wonderful room!!! »

Very nice view of the River, Was pleasantly surprised at the room!! Very roomy. very clean and very comfortable beds!!! Great location, we could walk to all the museums and trolly and dinner at the Brewery, which was also very good. Also great breakfast!!

    4
    « Nice Hotel »

Best Western is close to the main attractions near the river. There are good restaurants, snack shops, retail shops, historical sights, tours, a sightseeing boat and other things to see and do. The hotel has a refrigerator and microwave. The room is a good size with comfortable beds and a large bathroom. They have breakfast available. There is a pool and hot tub and exercise room.

    « Great stay »

We recently stayed at here over Labor Day weekend for the Steampunk Festival. The rooms were very nice and clean with all amenities needed. The checking process was very short and accommodating. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay. We will be booking again for next year and all future stays in Hannibal. As we visit Hannibal often. They also have a very nice full breakfast.

    4
    « Next to Mark Twain's house »

If you want to stay within just a few yards of the historical district, particularly Mark Twain's, Huck Finn's and Becky Thatcher's houses, this is the place. The Big Muddy is just 2 blocks east, and there are fun shops and restaurants nearby. We asked for a river view room, and were accommodated very nicely by a great and caring staff. My only complaint is that the windows were almost opaque with fog, dirt and general discoloration. They need to be replaced. After all, what good is a "river view" room if you can't see through the windows. Breakfast was so-so, typical free buffet fare.

    5
    « On The River »

Enjoyed our third floor room view. Very nice hotel, close to many attractions. Especially enjoyed strolling along the river and watching the boats. Nice brewpub/ restaurant nearby. Check-in and checkout was easy. Nice pool and restaurant in hotel.

    4
« ok, except several problems »

all ok, but fridge was broken. also , i reserved through best western website, and asked a room next to our friends. Hotel staff stated that they did not get that request, and that best western website is not working properly.

    3
« It is clean and close to down town »

Rooms are very small. We rented two rooms for the steampunk festival. The toilet did not work that well. It was $125.00 a night and not really worth the price. Breakfast buffet was good. The gentleman tending it was very dedicated to what he was doing. He was really proud of his pepper gravy. It is probably one of the better breakfast buffets. The people above us were loud and heavy walkers. My husband and I did not sleep that well.

« This Best Western Really Is The Best »

This hotel never disappoints when we have stayed here, but this was extra special. We stayed in the new building, next to the other one Room was gorgeous, clean and spacious. Approximately 30' ft w x 15 ' .While other hotels are getting stingy with soap, shampo, coffee etc these folks have amped up with everything to make your stay pleasant. Staff is swell, breakfast was fantastic. Hot biscuit and sausage gravey was delicious. Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, cereals, and the BEST coffee. Clean and nicely displayed. Lady in kitchen was a sweetie. It is right downtown next to the action. Take your earplugs if your a light sleeper. There is a train whistle at night. Room 342 has a great view and you can see the boats on the river. No problem getting a space in new parking lot. Can't wait for our next stay.

« Not worth the price »

I recently traveled to Hannibal, Mo as a stopover on my way to visit a relative at college for the Labor Day weekend. I made the reservation the day before we arrived and was quoted a price of $150.00 plus $22.00 tax (172.26) for two people two queen beds. I asked about AARP or AAA rates and was told that was their lowest rate - no discounts. Since there are not many hotel options in Hannibal I reluctantly made the reservation hoping that somehow a standard room at a Best Western would be worth $172.26. Those hopes were dashed the minute I walked through the lobby doors. I was unfortunately met with the overwhelming smell of chlorine!!! Next to the front desk in the lobby is the swimming pool. Guests be warned - you will get splashed walking to your room or elevator! Even thought I had a very unpleasant first impression the front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was located on the second floor overlooking the pool. So the noise from the pool was very loud. The room was adequate but no where near the price I was charged. The TV did not work but when I called someone from the front desk promptly came up to our room to fix it. (He was very nice) Also with noting the bottom of the bathtub/shower was wobbly and uneven. Our room did have windows that opened but the noise from the street and trains made it necessary to keep them closed. The location of this hotel is convenient for walking downtown in historic Hannibal and is blocks from the Mississippi River. There are actually two separate buildings at the hotel with adequate parking at each. So be sure to ask for the other building without the pool unless you love the smell of chlorine. You are given a parking tag for your vehicle at check in. The hotel is on the main drag so there is a lot of traffic noise as well as train horns from railroad tracts two blocks away. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance but be warned - do not eat at the Mark Twain Dinette across the street. Absolutely the worst food on the planet. It's tasteless, plastic institutional food quality. There were several tables around us who complained about the quality of their food and received free meals. We did not complain as we had a young waitress who was very overwhelmed at that point. We paid our bill and left most of our food uneaten on our plates. The breakfast at the hotel was less than good. Even though there was a tip jar prominently displayed the counters were dirty and not much food. No fruit - except for two oranges. So all in all I was very disappointed with my stay at the Best Western on the River. It would have been ok if I was paying an average price for an average hotel, but it was very very overpriced - taking advantage of the Labor Day weekend and a SteamPunk convention in town. Would not recommend this hotel.

« GREAT PALCE TO STAY FOR ALL ACTIVITIES »

Have stayed here before and loved location. Easy walk to River District. Always a lot going on. Room was very nice and beds are always great. Breakfast was good. Typical Best Western breakfast. Loved this hotel and the town of Hannibal.

« Always very nice and convenient »

This is a wonderfully maintained hotel. We've been coming here for years and it's always the same. It never disappoints! The whole facility is clean and the rooms are updated. The main building is built around the indoor pool and large jacuzzi. The rooms must be sound proofed because you don't notice the swimmers even when the pool is full of kids. After 10 pm the facility is quiet. There is also an outdoor pool. The hotel is across the street from the Mark Twain Diner which has delicious and reasonably priced food. It is also within walking distance to the shops, sights, river boat, night life, and river boat. You can also walk to the light house if you can handle the 220 stairs! The hotel staff are very friendly and make every effort to ensure your stay is pleasant. The rooms are large and have a large tv, large fridge, iron, blow dryer. The shower has good water pressure . I would definitely recommend this hotel for your Hannibal stay. It's great for kids, families, and couples.

On the River it is! Right down town Hannibal overlooking the Mississippi River and the downtown area just a short walk to many of the best attractions. Great comfortable Beds, clean and quiet. Breakfast was good, scrambled eggs or pancakes, I had oat meal with dried cranberries, nuts, and granola.

« Nice Place to Stay »

The hotel is in a great location. Easy walking to many attractions and restaurants. Very clean and updated. The staff was very friendly. The only downside was that the air didn't keep the room quite cool enough. We had a great view of the river from our third floor room.

    « Great Location »

We enjoyed every minute of our trip to Hannibal, MO. The hotel was the perfect location and we could walk every where in town. The facility was clean and the staff very accamadating. The kids loved swimming in the pool every day and breakfast gave us all a good start to the day.

    « Clean hotel »

Let's start with the room every room had to King beds and a pull out coach and it was a very cheap hotel. The pools were the cleanest pools I had every seen. The staff also told me they clean the pools and hot tubs every day. There was a Indoor pool and hot tub and a out door pool and hot tub.

    « A Visit to Hannibal »

On our way back to Minnesota from other parts of the Midwest, my son and I booked a "Haunted Hannibal Tour", so we called the Best Western close to downtown Hannibal to book a room. The staff was on top of things, for when we arrived at the motel at 6:30 PM on the dot, we only had 15 minutes left before assembling at the tour site. Motel staff had our room all ready and told us the quickest way to reach the place where the tour was to begin. Consequently, we had no time to plop our tired selves on those wonderful looking beds until well after 9:00 PM. Once back at the motel, the pool was unfortunately closed. I was almost tempted to cut through the pool cover and take a lap or two just the same. By morning we needed to be on our way so didn't have a chance to jump in and get wet. The room we had was clean and comfortable. Being that it faces the indoor pool, I could not help but wonder how quiet the room might be on a busy summer weekend. I'll have to find out the next time I'm in town.

    « Hannibal MO »

Our room was great with two king size beds. The view of the Mississippi river was wonderful and we got to see the sunrise over it in the morning. The breakfast was very good and so was the service! The woman who served breakfast even gave us directions to our next destination and knew the area well.

    « OK but OVERPRICED »

We got to Hannibal late in the day and this was the first motel we came to and had a gift card but it barely covered the tax etc. It was way more than similar Best Westerns we have stayed at but I understand Hannibal is a tourist town. Children amused themselves riding up and down on the elevators but I suppose this was not management's fault. My main gripe is the lack of parking and had to park on a crowded slope and didn't feel my truck would be safe The breakfast was so-so. Not that it matters but it is not on the river but across the street

    « Mark Twain »

We had a very stay at the Best Western by the River in Hannibal, MO. It is a very convenient location directly across the street from the Mark Twain visitor area, one block from the main street and 2 blocks from the MIssissippi River. The location was the primary driver for selecting this hotel, however the hotel was clean, well appointed and the room was large and comfortable. I would recommend the hotel for anyone visiting the area

    5
    « Beautiful! »

There were four of us. We had a river view room with two king size beds. The room was beautiful and the beds very comfortable. We had a VERY enjoyable experience with no problems whatsoever. We try to stay in Best Western when we can. We are rarely disappointed. This one does not disappoint.

    2
    « Broken air conditioning »

First they have problems with the air conditioning and have fans blowing. The air is stuffy. Had I known, we would have gone elsewhere. The tub floor was shaky indication poor installation. The hotel is due for a facelift. And until they fix the air conditioning, stay away.

    3
    « They **** you at the drive-thru »

Had reservations which had to be changed due to an unexpected thing... so had to arrive a day earlier than planned, so they jacked up the room rate. The price was pure gouging. In no way should you have to pay more than $200.00 for one standard room at a so-called "budget hotel" in friggin' Hannibal, Missouri. C'mon. And the hotel was far from being full. $200.00? Where do you think you are?

« Great place to stay on the river »

Would definitely stay here again. Hotel was super clean and location is great! Breakfast buffet was very nice many choices. Asked for a late check out, the staff was very happy to comply. This was our second stay at this hotel and couldn't be more pleased.

I had a really nice visit to Hannibal MO. The Best Western was within walking distance to everything. It was clean, staff was great and breakfast was delicious. A little on the pricey side, but a great place to stay.

    « Nice hotel »

Very convenient to all attractions. Didn't use the car. Vending machines were empty of first 3 choices of soda. A bit of confusion by staff on checking in. but overall it was a very nice experience in this city of Mark Twain.

« Very pleasant short stay »

Swung by for a couple nights on our way home from Iowa to Illinois. Desk staff was very accommodating. Had a very nice room on top floor of original building. There was some traffic noise, but not at a level that bothered us at all. Room looked as if may have been recently remodeled. Visited the hot tub one evening - one of the largest I have ever seen. Breakfast offered a good variety of usual hotel fare and had a very pleasant attendant. Very conveniently located to most of the historic attractions.

    5
    « Very clean »

This hotel was great. We stayed in the new building. It's brand new. Two King size beds. Bathroom was spotless. Nice refrigerator and microwave in the room. There is an outdoor pool behind the new building. Looked nice. We didn't have time to get in. There is an indoor pool in the main building. Looked nice as well. We would definitely stay there again. Very close to all the downtown attractions.

    « Great Location - Great Hospitality! »

A baseball tournament brought 12 players and their families to the area. Hannibal, MO turned out to be a "gem" and a true slice of Americana. And Best Western On The River were wonderful hosts to us :) From the booking process where I reserved a block of rooms for our group, through check-out, Romaine and the other staff at BW were accommodating, patient and very kind. The morning breakfasts were great - make-your-own waffles was a big hit with the kids - and having both and indoor and outdoor pool offered a nice variety for our group. The new building is VERY nice, the old building is what one would expect, but clean. The big positive here was that there were multiple room arrangements available to meet the different needs of our different families - from space to price-point - everyone got what they needed. We had a couple free days mixed in with game days, and Hannibal offered so much for us to do - we enjoyed the riverboat, the caves, Sawyers Creek, and a minor league Cavemen game. And the parents enjoyed exploring this quaint town - with a couple great restaurants, bars, coffee shop, and shopping. Hannibal and BW ended up being a wonderful experience for us all!

First time to hannibal since i was little. Me and my husband had a good time. The front desk was very nice and friendly. They let us check in early but couldnt get the keys till around 3 which was fine. When we got to the room it was very nice, clean. Only thing was there wasnt enough towels for me and my husband so i had to get some. We asked about places to eat and they recommended some. We were able to sit out in the parking lot to watch the fireworks which was nice. We plan on stayin here when we go to hannibal again. The picture is the view from our room which was nice.

    « Great location »

My mother, sister and I stayed at the Best Western on the River for just one night while passing through. The rooms were very nice, recently remodeled (I think we were given a room in the new building. I'm not sure what the rooms are like in the original hotel) and the location was really good. We were able to walk to the little downtown area to grab dinner, which was nice after a full day in the car. I would definitely choose this hotel if going back to Hannibal. There are other hotel options in town, but this was a great one if you want to be within walking distance of the river and historic Mark Twain areas.

« 3rd floor has great river views »

One block from historic district, easy walk but road is brick. Breaksfast was hot, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy. MIchelle kept everything full. Michelle and the housekeepers are the only sraff in the building. Front desk staff are across the street in another building, so yiu have to call if you need something or search around for a housekeeper. (We had a lamp go out and no coffee left for us, so we did both the search and call). Perfect location for Main Street and just 3 miles or so to Mark Twain cave.

    5
« Great Stay for the Price »

We chose this hotel because it was within walking distance to so many attractions. Our room was in the new building that was built about a year ago. The room was spacious and very clean. A full hot breakfast was included and had many food choices. We swam in the outdoor pool, but there was also an indoor pool. We walked to see museums, historical buildings, a children's musical and ate in several different restaurants.

« Great hotel in the center of the city! »

Loved our room at Best Western for our 2 day exploration of Hannibal in MO! We were just a block from Mark Twain's boyhood home and walked everywhere! A few blocks to shops, restaurants, and the Mississippi. Fantastic beds that were very comfortable, clean beautiful room. I would definitely recommend this as a must stay in Hannibal!

    4
    « Nice hotel »

The location was very convenient. The indoor pool was nice. If you are staying in the main building the pool is in the middle so the hallways were humid, but our room was fine. We did use the fridge for drinks we brought, but the vending machines were not outrageous like some. It was clean, modern, and comfortable. Breakfast was good for being free!

    4
    « Location, location! »

I typically enjoy luxury hotels, but this was perfect for our sightseeing purposes in Hannibal. You have to cross the highway, and the Mark Twain attractions are all within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was okay; no bananas either morning. My hub made waffles and said they were delicious. I'm not a big fan of buffets and don't like to bother making anything. The young staff at the desk were very friendly and love Hannibal and convey their enthusiasm.

« Party Weekend for our Motorcycle Group »

We've never encountered a hotel, in 15 years, that was more accommodating to our motorcycle group. They encouraged us to park our bikes under the overhang and provided wipe-down rags without us asking. Downtown Hannibal is really cool and this hotel is ideally located.

« Best Location in Town »

I rented 3 rooms for my family for 2 nights. We loved the location as we could walk to all the attractions in Hannibal that we wanted to see, including the Mississippi River (except the Caves, which are well out of town). We traveled with a senior citizen, 5 adults, and 4 children aged 6 and under. The pool was inside which was a big hit with the kids. The only complaint we have is that our rooms air conditioner quit working and the staff member that helped us told us to wait 15 minutes to see if it came back on. If it didn't, he said to tell the staff member coming to work at that time because he would be leaving. He obviously was passing the buck to the next worker. But after that 15 minutes, my husband was able to get us switched into another room. I would highly recommend staying here. And take the trolley while in town, the guys running it are great!

    5
« Great place to stop »

We always stay here on our way to Indiana. It's half way and the place is really nice. There is a good restaurant across the street. Hannibal is an interesting place and you can take a walking tour at any time.

    « Nice »

The hotel room was really nice and clean! The people who worked there were nice and professional. They were excellent in changing our room so we had a sofa bed for the kids to sleep on and then bringing extra towels, sheets, blankets and pillows. It a very family friendly hotel and with in walking distance to downtown! The only complaint is that we had our thermostat set on 60° and the room was still slightly cool.

    « Rescheduled 4th of July weekend »

And requested a room overlooking the river was a good view of the river Saw barges and trains frequently on the third floor guys did not bother at all two queen beds would have been fine with just one . Breakfast was great on Saturday Sunday breakfast pans I got behind ran out of lots of things before 9 o'clock. Have swimming pool and hot tub inside our building and another building across the street had an outdoor pool. Probably would stay again if in Hannibal .

    5
    « great stay »

I plan to stay here every time we work in this area. great service all around. Clean stay. Polite people. Pool and hot tub area were so much fun and clean. New outdoor pool we didn't have time to use. Breakfast was fun and we enjoyed the elevator having a window side.

    « Lovely town »

We stayed on the 1st floor and it was perfect. The room was large and it was close to the indoor pool as well as parking. The lot attached to the main building is a little cramped but there is an additional lot across the street with plenty of space. Housekeeping was efficient. I would leave the room at random times each day and my room was always clean when I returned. The hotel is located in the center of town and is in walking distance to many of the area attractions.

« They scored the hotel trifecta: comfortable, clean, and convenient »

Positives: central location, comfortable, good breakfast Negatives: cramped parking, a bit pricey Rarely do we choose a higher-cost option when traveling, but Best Western On the River was an exception. It's downtown location convinced us to spend a bit more to make the most of our short time in Hannibal. Although the hotel is named "On the River" the shoreline is about three blocks away. However, you can see the mighty Mississippi from the property. This is a great place if you're interested in touring local historic sites. Samuel Clemen's boyhood neighborhood, downtown shopping, the riverboat ride and more are within easy walking distance. Distant attractions like Lover's Leap can be quickly reached on local streets. We arrived about 11 p.m., along with several other customers. Check-in went smoothly despite the late hour and high demand. This hotel operates two buildings: the original structure close to the highway and a newer facility across the street that sits further back on a hill. We were assigned a room in the newer building. On-site parking was tight around both buildings. The lot adjacent to the older building was completely full. Only two spaces were left in the lot in front of our building. Many customers parked on the street. Due to overbooking, we were upgraded to a room with two king beds (instead of the single bed we requested.) The room was huge...far more than two of us needed. It was nice to have so much space for all our equipment! Inside and out, the entire facility was very clean and in good condition. One of the beds looked like it had been used more than the other. We chose the "better" of the two and slept very well. We appreciated the fact breakfast was served in our building...it would have been clumsy to walk across the street just to eat. The breakfast nook is small but management smartly placed dining tables in the lobby to accommodate more customers. They served eggs, sausage, make-your-own waffles, a few kinds of cereal, a bit of fruit, and beverages. The "kitchen manager" (my term) was good enough to replenish both eggs and sausage fifteen minutes before service was scheduled to close. A surge of diners had exhausted the supply, leaving nothing for latecomers. Bravo for that manager. Some hotels wouldn't have prepared extra for anyone. I found it interesting they removed food in warming trays immediately at the scheduled closing time. What did they do with all the leftovers? (Feed the staff?) Our only problem came when I requested a receipt at checkout. The desk employee said our third-party aggregator would provide one. The problem was, I booked on Best Western's web site, not through another vendor. Some time was required to straighten out the situation. I eventually received a correct statement. The Bottom Line - Downtown Hannibal doesn't offer many lodging options. For that matter, few options are available in the entire town. Fortunately, Best Western On the River is one of them. This hotel costs a bit more than more properties on the main highway, but for sightseers like us, time saved by staying here is more than worth the extra price.

    « BIRTHDAY GETAWAY! »

Everything was great and we will be back as soon as we get a few days to enjoy and get away from work. Hannibal is a favorite place we go and we always go to Labinnah for dinner as the food is great and they actually know us, as we go there often. We do not go to breakfast as we are late sleepers but have in the past gone to breakfast and it was always good. See you next time!! Chris and Kirk Wall

« Fun place to stay »

Very nicely laid out hotel, decently distanced from the highway, & close to the river. The room was comfortable & clean, & the service was great! Loved the public hot tub & pool, with a skylight above that brightens up the hotel. Has the feel of a more expensive hotel while keeping reasonable prices. Also, lets not forget that they provide you a nicely wrapped, "fresh" remote!!

« Tom Sawyer Days visit »

We were very happy with the room! The new outdoor pool just opened, this wasn't mentioned anywhere but it was a great surprise. To be within walking distance of downtown was wonderful. Room was clean (except the piece of beef jerky that we found in the ac unit) and very spacious. Staff was friendly and we felt that the property was safe.

« Great stay and staff! »

We were pulling a trailer behind our motorcycle which made parking tricky. The staff, without hesitation, suggested we park under the awning in the front. It was great because it also kept it dry that night when it rained. We also loved the view of the river from our room and the convenience to all the historic sites.

    4
« Nice rooms, great location »

Overall, pretty good. Others have complained about the train noise, but we liked it. Good beds, pretty bathroom. We stayed at the new building and it was nice. Plus it's where the breakfast is. The pool is in the other building and it's pretty warm, but overall this was a nice hotel and we enjoyed it. It would be nice if they had either an attendant or a change machine in the new building because vending machines are there but there's no way to make change.

« Gave this 5 STARS but TripAdvisor won't let me »

The Best Western on the River (not exactly ON the river, btw, but near it) just built a new hotel on the lot next door and we stayed there. This was a top-rate room. Our family of five (two parents, three kids 5, 12, & 14) loved our lodging! The service was superb, friendly, and fast as well. At about 9:30 pm we realized we needed an extra blanket & sheets to set up the youngest on the love seat and it was delivered within minutes. And next morning complimentary breakfast was very good, served by a cheerful young lady. They had hot scrambled eggs, potatoes, & sausage; waffles; yogurt; fresh fruit; dry cereal; milk and juice; toast; fresh fruit; etc. The coffee was decent. They had plenty of food up until the end. We had to walk across to the main hotel to swim, and I was glad we were in a different building because the indoor pool there made it very humid inside and all those rooms opened up into that central atrium to overlook the pool. So we got to swim, then leave, returning to a crisp, cool, new hotel in the nicer, new annex! It was a very hot day, so the walk back was pleasant and no trouble. The beds were excellent, and I loved all the big, fluffy pillows that smelled vaguely sweet. The bathrooms were clean, towels white & fresh, a sparkly shower, plenty of complimentary toiletries, enough Kleenex and tissues... everything was pristine. The carpets were very new, the bedding was bleach-white and soft. Each bed had 5 pillows. The TV was a newer, flat screen. We put our leftovers from dinner in the small fridge, and there was also a microwave. We were also able to fill our small cooler with ice. My only complaint was you could hear lots of annoying thumping through the floor above. We were on the ground floor. It sounded like they had a toddler barn stomp going full force up there until at least midnight and I decided to turn the A/C down low so the fan would stay on to try and drown out the incessant thumping noises. You could also hear doors slamming in the hallway. I was so grateful that the bumping eventually did stop and I was able to fall asleep. Of course by then everyone else in our room had fallen asleep in spite of it, and then I had snoring to contend with, but I eventually did get some shut-eye that night. The cozy bed made up for the inconvenience. In any event, consider bringing ear plugs or a small fan just in case. Other than that, the room was excellent and the service outstanding. TripAdvisor won't let me give 5 stars ratings for great service, etc., anywhere for some reason, so I only rated the sleep quality, giving it a four. Everything else was a five.

« Accommodating for motorcycle riders! »

Ok, so there isn't a plethora from which to choose when it comes to hotels here. The BW?... they were great. The locale is in the middle of town, the rooms were clean, service was great and they welcome us Harley riders! ??. There is an indoor pool. We didn't use... The smell didn't bother me and, more importantly, I didn't HEAR all of that pool fun in my room.

« Close to points of interest »

Nice hotel, clean, comfy. When I went it was Mark Twain days and was in walking distance of food, tourist traps. I was in the new building that doesn't have a pool. Which I was ok with it just a layover trip. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. Will still again if ever the need arises.

    « Close to attractions. »

No bed bugs. Clean. Convenient. Parking can be a little tight. We had to park in the extra lot , which was not far but not extremely easy for seniors coming back after sightseeing. Overall a pleasant experience.

    « Great Location »

We found this hotel to be as close to everything as you can get. Huck Finn's house is right across the street. Everything is within a short walk. The room was clean and comfortable. Restaurants are very close but are needed only for lunch or dinner. The included breakfast in the hotel gives you all that you could ask for. The person in charge of the breakfast took pride in his job. Very helpful and constantly making sure that the food was stocked and the area was clean and neat. Would stay here again for sure.

    « Enjoyable Stay »

We had booked a King room and were pleasantly surprised to have a complimentary upgrade to a double King riverview room in the new building. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the staff pleasant. We enjoyed watching the activity on the river, as well as the trains going by. The only downfall was the breakfast area, which was small and congested. The coffee/tea area was back in a corner by the food. It would be better to have it in a separate area, more easily accessible. Overall a very nice BW.

    « Nice recent refurb »

We are locals staying here for an extended period while our home is remodeled. It's the nicest hotel within walking distance of the Historic district without a doubt. The recent renovations are very nice and we found the room size and furnishings on par with 4&5 star hotels. The main building houses the pool inside so you can't get away from the chlorine smell nor the noise of pool users. If this is a problem for you, they have a newly built building across the street. Parking is an issue, disabled spots are few and quickly occupied. Great birds eye view of historic downtown and the river - even Lovers Leap. Pet's are not welcome but of course Service Animals are. Totally non-smoking hotel. Breakfast is a plus. Not your standard donut/cereal/waffle continental. They provide those as well as scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage patties, bacon as well as biscuits and gravy.

    « Happy in Hannibal »

Especially like staying near many activities. This hotel is within walking distance to the quaint downtown. Just a short drive to cave tours. We were here for a family wedding. The community area near the lobby helped us to gather away from our rooms to make our daily plans.

    « Great getaway... »

First off this hotel is hard to find! Once you enter, the pool smell is a little much, but after in lobby checking in for a few minutes you don't notice any longer. The gentleman checking us in was extremely nice, our room was not ready yet (we arrived early) so he gave us a room ready in the new building. The room was perfect, large, 2 king beds that where comfortable, great ac, etc. The breakfast was ready, hot, an great the next morning. I read some complaints about train noise, I was listening for it in the morning I was already awake only real reason I heard it, it didn't wake anyone else in room. Would definitely stay again!

« Nice place for overnight stay »

We made a weekend trip to Hannibal to check out the town and stayed at the Best Western. We arrived early and were able to check in right away. Our room was clean and comfortable and well-appointed with large tv and frig. Our only complaint was the noise from the room above us and the train rolling through town in the early morning hours, both of which are out of the control of the hotel. The breakfast was in large dining area and there was a wide selection of items to choose from. The breakfast attendant kept everything clean and well stocked, I would have liked more fruit options though. Overall I felt the Best Western was a good value

« Great place to stay! »

My husband and I wanted to be near downtown so we could walk around after a long day of driving. Great location, very clean, front desk staff very helpful especially when our room keys didn't work - fixed immediately! The bed was comfortable and the room was very nice. Our room was poolside (indoor pool) and at first we were concerned about all the kids and the noise, but right at 10pm the pool was cleared and everything was quiet. The pool was covered and not re-opened until the next morning. Very impressed and would definitely stay here again!

    « Great hotel! »

Great hotel, great location and value for the money! We had an issue with the cooling of our room and the refrigerator-but the issue was fixed right away and we were given a different room. The staff was fantastic! Hot breakfast in the morning was very good as well. Pool area is very nice, but is situated in the middle of the hotel, so it closes at 9 pm so our kids couldn't swim since we arrived late. Parking is a bit tight there as well-we had to park away from our building, but it was fine. I would highly recommend this hotel for families and I will stay here again!

« Excellent Hotel, Excellent Service, Excellent Location »

My fiancee and I stayed here for 3 nights, Friday, June 3, 2016 - Monday, June 6th. We were very pleased with the high quality of the very spacious room, comfortable bed, large bathroom, etc. We stayed on the 3rd floor of the newer building and had an awesome river view. The complimentary hot breakfast was exceptionally good and was in both buildings over the weekend. Also, as others have said, this hotel is right in the historic downtown area in walking distance to everything. I was blown away by the EXCEPTIONAL Customer Service! We called the front desk about problems with our TV, and Austin volunteered to come directly to our room to diagnose it. He walked over from the main building in like 2 minutes, found out the issue was dead batteries in the remote, and immediately went back for new batteries. All on a busy Friday night, Austin made our satisfaction a priority. And every employee we saw throughout our stay was cheerful and friendly. I had way better customer service here than I have had in other, more expensive hotels. Highly Recommended!

« In the thick of things »

I was able to stay in the new wing of the Best Western on the River in Hannibal. It is brand new and very nice. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are very well appointed. There is a TV, a microwave and a samll fridge in each room. The only downside is the short walk to the main hotel where breakfast is served (and the pool is there too.) Breakfast was very good but the breakfast room is pretty small. All of the overflow goes to the main lobby. It is only a block to the Becky Thatcher House and the white wash fence exhibit and Tom Sawyer museum. A great location.

    « Quaint & Clean »

This hotel worked nicely. The parking is on a slant on the side, but I could deal with it. There are two sections to this place, supposedly I was in the older section. The only thing it could use - would be a good sundeck. If you don't want to hear kids screaming in the pool, request a room away from this area - they will accommodate you. Room was quaint and clean.

    « Love it »

This place is excellent, I just stay for one night and I love it !! I had a king bed no view!! The room is really clean, the sizes are just right. There have an inside pool can be a little annoyed because you can hear a little bit the kids playing. Breakfast is complete with all the essentials. Also, having someone checking every 5 min if is needed something.

with-in walking distance to most everywhere that you would want to go, shops, places to eat, sight-seeing, river cruise boat, trolley, mansions, and so many other things to do in the near-by area, caves, overlooks

This stay was great. Excellent desk clerks, great room. It made up for a mediocre stay awhile back. We will certainly stay here again. We travel through here quite and appreciate the fact we know exactly where we are going to stay

Excellent hot and cold breakfast options. Lovely pool and hot tub. Close, walking distance to historic downtown Hannibal and in a safe location. Great place to stay!!

I loved this hotel in Hannibal l because everything was with in walking distance of all the Mark Twain activities. I use a walker and this place is so handicap setup. also the breakfast was awesome. The hot tub was wonderful on my joints.

Hotel and staff were great! The hotel itself and the rooms were very clean and well maintained. Staff were helpful on directions and suggestions of what to see and where to grab a bite to eat. We will definitely be back and this place is centrally located to all attractions, the river and lots of restaurants.

« VERY nice hotel in a perfect location. »

Best Western on The River is just that. It is located only 2-3 blocks from the Mississippi river. In fact, my room had a view of the river. The hotel is actually 2 buildings. I stayed in what I think of as the annex, which is approximately 100 feet from the main building. The annex has a small breakfast dining room and vending machines. The main building has the front desk, pool, hot tub, etc. My room was very nice and well appointed for the price and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I will tell you that a train rolled through at around 5:30 or 6:00AM and blew it's whistle. I was up anyway, but this might bother people wanting to sleep in.The only reason that I didn't rate the hotel higher is that the breakfast was still being prepared at 6;15AM when it was supposed to be ready at 6:00. Sorry, but I believe in promptness.

    « Enjoyable Trip »

My husband and I and four boys stayed here for the night while visiting friends in the area. Very good experience overall. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast items were plentiful. We stayed in the original building and did not get to see the annex. We were told they are in the process of installing an outdoor pool in addition to the indoor! That is a plus for us for future stays!!

« The BEST hotel in Hannibal »

When we checked in Austin and Issac were at the front desk to check us in and they were awesome and knowledgeable about the town. And at night Jeff was there to help answer any questions and was very pleasant to talk to and was very helpful on what way to take on the way home to Desoto Mo. He suggested that we take Hwy 79 to St.Charles then hwy 364 to hwy 141 and so on which we did and it was a beautiful scenic highway that followed the Mississippi river which has many scenic overlook parks to stop at. We had 2 queen beds on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool and out our window you could see the Tom and Huck park and the river. There is an indoor pool and hot tub which was very warm and very clean. They offer free HOT breakfast in the breakfast room from 6-10am very good and very fresh. The hotel is very clean, updated, and very kid friendly. The kids and I love the pool and hot tub. The location is perfect you can walk to every Mark Twain attractions in town and the lil shops ,the riverfront, and the Lighthouse. Its close to restaurants and the visitors center is across the street. We left the car parked the whole time we were there and walked everywhere. Most of the attraction and shops closed around 5pm so we would head back to the hotel with dinner and the one night the Hannibal Kiwanis had bbq on the riverfront and we got pulled pork with 2 side and pork chop sandwich with 2 sides and drinks and took it back to the hotel and then headed to the pool until 9pm when it closed. I would recommend this hotel to everyone coming to Hannibal. Its the BEST one in town !!! Oh and they do have an elevator too !!! From a very satisfied mom traveling with 3 kids ages 5,8,11 from Desoto Mo.

« Pretty much the only game in town »

We almost always stay at Best Western hotels because we always know what to expect. This particular hotel was no exception although it did have a one unusual ( to me) amenity. The pool and hot tub were inside the hotel pretty much in the lobby, NOT in a different enclosed area. All the rooms at this hotel are accessed from the interior which is not unusual where they have extremely hot or cold weather. Having an indoor pool so close to the guest rooms might present a noise problem in the busy season but it was very quiet while we were there. The only noise problems we had were from the STAFF talking outside our room very early in the morning. The window had very good room darkening drapes so the lighting in the public areas did not effect us at all. Our king size bed was very clean and comfortable but the pillows were small and made out of cheap, lumpy foam. The morning breakfast was very good. A nice selection of hot and cold food , including make your own waffles. Our main complaint was that there was only ONE washer and dryer available for the entire hotel. Needless to say we didn't get any laundry done here as we had hoped. FYI, the only open restaurant while we were there was the Mark Twain diner that is directly across the street from the hotel. There are a couple of other real dumpy looking hotels in town so like the title of this review says, this hotel is pretty much the only game in town....luckily, it is not bad.

Very pleased with price, accommodation, staff - all very good. We did not expect the hotel to be as attractive or conveniently located. It was within walking distance of all the attractions we were interested in, in Hannibal.

« Great location for Mark Twain sights! »

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the cute town of Hannibal, Missouri. This hotel is perfectly located for seeing the town and walking to restaurants. Our room was nicely updated. However, you should know that this is an older hotel with a pool inside surrounded by the rooms. The first thing we noticed on walking in was the smell of chlorine from the pool. The other thing was the awful mildew smell in the elevator. Other than these 2 things, we had an enjoyable stay and the breakfast was good.

    5
« Great stay & close to downtown! »

We stayed here over Mother's Day Weekend. We attended the car show. Hotel is close to downtown & shops. Plenty of places to eat within walking distances. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Rooms were clean with comfy bed. Breakfast was excellent! Lots to choose from to eat and server kept the foods hot & full. We would recommend!

    « Comfortable and Convenient »

A very nice hotel within easy walking distance of historic Hannibal. Our room was on the third floor with views of Hannibal, the Mississippi River and the lighthouse style structure on the hill located at the south end of Main Street. The hotel had adequate (just barely) parking, a nice indoor pool, a relaxing lobby and a good free breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. We did not notice the train noise some other reviewers mentioned. Our room was always cleaned in the morning. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I will stay here again if I return to Hannibal.

    4
    « Nice, friendly, clean »

This motel was very friendly, had just freshly upgraded the soft features of the rooms, and was very clean. Beds were comfy, and super convenient to the historic district of Hannibal. Mark Twain would be proud. The place has an indoor swimming pool which is great for families year round, too.

    4
    « Good Overnight Stop »

We frequently travel the "Avenue of the Saints", as our son lives in St. Paul and we live south of St. Louis - an 11 hour trip. This is one of our favorite overnight stops as it is conveniently located to both the highway and many good shops and restaurants. The hotel staff is friendly and knowledgeable about Hannibal. We especially enjoy the Mark Twain historic sites, some of which are just a block away, as well as the variety of food available within walking distance.

    4
« Great location in an interesting town »

Located in the heart of Hannibal this motel offered a comfortable and convenient stay for my wife and I. We were within walking distance of many Hannibal tourist sites and only a short very easy drive to Mark Twain caves. The included breakfast was standard fare for hotels, nonetheless a very convenient addition.

    5
    « Great location »

Great Location for a walk-about historic Hannibal and views of the Mississippi from the lighthouse. Rooms were clean, service was polite and responsive and bed was comfortable. Not a 5 star but location more than compensates The Only negative was virtually non-existing internet, especially if you are in an end unit. You'll need to go to the lobby to make your cyber connections.

    5
    « GOOD »

Good clean well run hotel. Ask for a back room so you don't get a room on the Beltline. Secure and courteous service. Quick check in and out. A little noisy if a baseball kids league is in town. Close to the Mall and good restaurants. The Beltline leads to everywhere but it is best to take side streets. The Beltline is in constant construction.

    5
« Great place to stay »

Nice place right in downtown Hannibal. Convenient to everything. only downside if staying on the river side, trains occasionally run through down. The whistles can be disturbing at night - ask for room opposite the river!

    « 4/11/2016 »

Met 4 high school friends here for a weekend get away. We had a great stay. The room was very clean, with a nice view of the river. The hotel employees were very helpful, helping us find places to eat, etc. It was very quiet rooms, very comfortable beds. When we checked out, it was raining, so after checking out, we still sat in the comfortable lounge until 1 pm, and they were OK with that. Beautiful pool and hot tub also.

    4
« Good place to stay »

The hotel is a comfortable place to stay in Hannibal. It is conveniently located near most of the Mark Twain sights and shopping. The hotel is well maintained and has the comforts most people look for in a place to stay.

    5
« Convenient location for Mark Twain history »

Very clean, and a short, easy walk to the Mississippi River, and Tom Sawyer museum. In historical district. Staff was friendly, breakfast hot and fresh. No complaints for this hotel. Recommend it and would stay here again.

« Nice laid back trip »

We were in Hannibal to visit family and stayed at the Best Western on the River. This was our second stay here, and it was really nice. Staff is friendly, the rooms are nice, though the pillows kind of stink-we brought our own this time. Breakfast is plentiful, if a bit bland, but I'm not much of a breakfast person anyway. The location is great for shopping and dining, yet far enough away from the bars downtown that getting a good night's sleep isn't a problem.

    5
    « Great experience »

The staff gave us great recommendations where to eat & what to see in Hannibal. This was very much appreciated. They were very friendly. The hotel was across the street from the main Mark Twain historic places to see. This was very convenient.

« Nice hotel, cute town »

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very nice, well appointed and clean. The bed was very comfy. We looked around town a bit and it seemed like it would be fun but March was not the best month. I bet it is great in the summer.

« One of "best" Best Westerns I've stayed ata »

Nice lobby area with huge sitting room, large circular modern tables, leather couches, tv. Breakfast room off this was also nice, tables spaced nicely so you didn't feel crowded. They opened up another room off breakfast room for overflow which looked spacious as well. Pool was right by lobby area and looked nice too. It is a smaller area with no walls separating it with any privacy from all other main floor areas. It was enclosed by a kind of half wall. It also had a hot tub. We didn't use it as we arrived 8:30 and the pool area closed at 9. Thankful for early closing as our room was very close to pool area. Our room 106 was just down from reception and was nice sized. I was glad I spent $10 more for a king bed. Total bill with tax $113. Room had slight wear and tear. Wallpaper in spots was frayed, scratched. Tub bottom had a liner in it that kind of moved as you stepped around. Bed linens fresh, bed comfy, room overall quite clean. Breakfast ok, biscuits, gravy, standard scrambled eggs, sausage, cereals, yogurt, breads, waffle maker. Did not see butter or cream cheese tho.., I imagine rates, come summer, will be more. It has a nice location by the river and the downtown sites. Very walkable. I would recommend and would stay again if back in the area.

    3
    « Adequate »

Comfortable room. Hot tub jets not working properly - it was more like a warm bath. Bed gave me a back ache. Quality of breakfast was poor. Overall it was fine, but at the price, expected a little more.

« Great location; mini vacation »

This was an overall good experience. The room was clean and comfy, the comp breakfast in the morning has a great time frame, and lots of choices. Great location if you are in town to visit historic downtown Hannibal. Staff was helpful, and kind. Price was within budget too. All around nice experience.

    5
    « Clean and quaint »

Hotel overall was very clean. It is located within a 3 minute walk of Mark Twains house and 5 minutes walk from downtown historic Hannibal. River views too! Very comfortable beds. The pool was great too. Breakfast was good! Staff was SUPER nice! Very reasonable! Great deal between room, location staff pool and breakfast.

    « Bowlers Weekend »

When we go to Hannibal for our annual bowling trip, each year for the past 6 years. This is our hotel of choice and I do the choosing. We have always had a very good experience, and me really nice new hotel guests on each and every trip. We be back same time next year. Thanks to the Staff at the Best Western on the River, Hannibal, Missouri.

    3
    « Mediocre »

Nice location near historic downtown and with good view of the river. Room was laid out so that the closet stuck out in the hall - made it difficult to get to the bathroom. Bathroom was very small. Nice pool. Hot tub looked great but jets were not very strong and water was just warm. Breakfast was adequate but most items were stale or did not taste good. No fresh fruit. Staff was unengaged. Had to park my car in an alley - did not feel safe.

    4
    « Great value »

We stayed here for 2 nights. Had the most important necessities: Microwave and refrigerator. No need to pack a hair dryer either. The only minor things I didn't care for was the small bathroom and the pool is right up front where you check in. It is by far better than the current Best Western we are staying at in St.Louis. If we ever come back to Hannibal I would definitely book this hotel again.

    5
« HANNIBAL, MO BEST WESTERN »

Love this Hotel! Friendly staff, great location, clean rooms. We stay at the Best Western in Hannibal when ever we visit Hannibal. It is so nice to park and walk downtown to the Historic District! We have stayed at the Best Western in Hannibal at least 3 times per year for the past 5 years and have had a wonderful experience each time.

    4
    « Very nice place »

This is a reasonably priced hotel with a friendly staff and nice rooms. My only complaint, and this is not the fault of the staff, is that the pool is in the middle of the lobby on the 1st floor, and that makes the whole hotel loud while the pool is in use. It closes at 9pm, but if one is an early sleeper, or tries to take a nap, or is just annoyed by noise, this might not be the best place to choose. I have little kids who wanted to swim, so it didn't bother me, but I might not choose this location if I was traveling alone.

    4
« Probably the best intown »

The personnel and the cleanliness of this motel make it a good place to visit historic Hannibal. I had difficulty finding it because itwas not near the highway I used to enter town. Don't get to town after 9:00 pm. -- no decent place to eat!

    5
« Almost on the river! »

Very nice. It isn't exactly on the river but you can see the river from the hotel. It's within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Hannibal is a fun town to visit and this is a great place to stay.

    5
« Great Hotel; Wonderful Staff »

    « Beautiful location »

Excellent accommodations. Large pool with hot tub. Full breakfast. Walking distance to the Mississippi and small town down town. Mark Twain's home, museum, steamboat and light house close by. There was a couple weddings and proms here, but we didn't hear any of it.

    5
    « Great hotel! »

A great combination of rate, comfort and amenities! Good location, right downtown near the river and the quaint shops and restaurants. Loved the pool area and the selection of quality breakfast items.

« Difficult to find - Verizon has no connection in the area »

Beautiful and quiet hotel but very hard to find. About 2 blocks from the Mississippi with a busy train tracks between the river and hotel. Pool is in the center atrium with rooms surrounding it. Excellent beds and shower head. Not the direct view of the river I had hoped. Very nice breakfast.

    4
    « oops »

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times and always are very satisfied. However, painting the doors in the room left a smell. When we told the staff we got an over the shoulder--Oh, yah, we just painted the doors. Not the kind of staff we are used to at this hotel. However, we really like this hotel and will give it at least one more chance.

    5
« great hotel layout - great customer service »

nice layout; entering from inside (safety), friendly professional staff, nice clean rooms, hot water, quiet, and surprisingly reasonable cost. Here by myself, but could see this being a wonderful place for a family with children.

    3
« Adequate for the night »

This property is an older one but is well maintained and was very clean. The location is great for visiting the Mississippi River and the old town of Hannibal. Everything needed is in easy walking distance. Parking is somewhat limited around the hotel

    5
« The Best Hotel in Hannibal is the Best Western »

Easily the best hotel in the area. It provides easy walking access to all of the downtown district. The shopping is quaint for this Midwest hometown. There are excellent restaurants in the area. The main building has a pool and a hot tub. The water is clear and refreshing. The Mississippi River is a short walk away to the river boats and marina. The hotel has exceptional views of the river and the island.

    « Exploring Hannibal »

Having always been a fan of Mark Twain's "Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and other writings, my wife & I decided to see all that Hannibal had to offer. Our base of operations was the Best Western on the River, and we were happy with our decision. A basic breakfast was adequate, but we especially enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. Very nice! Utilized the exercise room and thought our room was just great. Plus, the hotel was close to nearly everything.

    5

« Location was the best thing here »

To talk about the positives first...the location was excellent to the sights we wanted to see in Hannibal. The parking was included, but is a little cramped. Breakfast is also included. The negative...I am not sure why hotels do not find the need or want to clean a room more than just so so....to put it as mildly as possible to not disturb the reader...why must there be "foreign" body hairs in the bathroom?!

    5
    « Unexpected great find »

First review, ever. This was on the way home from a business trip and we had been following the River Road south from Iowa. Very cool hotel, retro atrium type architecture, view of the river from our room, wonderful location, very much above average breakfast buffet, and a great little diner right across the street. The place was clean, well maintained, and the staff friendly and helpful. Even the train whistles from down the street didn't bother us, they just seemed to fit the ambiance of the area.

« The Best Hotel in Hannibal is the Best Western »

When you get there, you should ask for a room in the new building. The hotel is so convenient to downtown, there is no driving required. Chris, Carl, Tres, and Romaine are the nicest staff anyone could ask for.

    « Great Hotel »

The hotel was great, the rooms were very large, we had a single bed room and a two bed room, in each room there was plenty of room to move around in and have room for all of our bags. We really enjoyed the staff there, the manager was always filled with information about the attractions that were around the area and she was always in a good mood and ready to help with any of our needs. This is probably the only hotel i will ever stay at when returning to Hannibal again.

« Latch on door doesn't work... they don't care »

First of all, the new property looks nice, rooms look nice, bed is comfortable. Negative review was because the door latch did not work. It turns out that the building is settling and the floor are uneven (can't tell, even if I looked). The door to the room would not latch. Host told me to shut it hard and it would latch. It didn't latch. Had to lift up (hard) on the handle to latch. Returned to hotel next night... door was open. Room service didn't read the notes in room. Tool kit was stolen. Will not return.

    « On the road »

Very nice hotel for a stop off Staff pleasant. We had the 2 king bed room. Huge. Nice and clean. Great shower. The only fault I would say was there breakfast. Quite sparse. Had to ask for butter, creamers were few,no bananas or sweet rolls Overall good for passing through

    « Excellent apart from 2 things »

We stayed in the new section where the checkin area you in The rooms are really wonderful. Everything you need and very clean and new There are two things that let this hotel down The WiFi sucks. It comes in and out and the signal is very weak. The hotel can definitely fix this problem The other problem and cannot be fixed by the hotel and is NOT their problem is the train noise From 6.15am the trains start going by and they blow their whistles a lot. Wakes every body up Anyhow. Apart from this. This is the place to stay. Right in the thick of everything Mark Twain

    « Very nice. »

My husband and I stayed in the hotel last night. It was a very nice, very clean hotel. Everything seemed to be brand new. The bed was comfortable with nice bedding. It had a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Everything you needed!! It was within perfect walking distance from the Historic Downtown District. The complimentary breakfast was very good!

« Nice place, but overpriced. »

We stayed here on Thanksgiving, so the place was available and pretty empty. The room was new, and a mirror image of the Best Western room we had stayed in the night before in Canton, Mississippi - clean and nicely done. However, the room was $30 more per night.

    « History!! »

This hotel was great, it was super clean the rooms were super trendy, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely put the word out to anyone in this area that you need to stay here at least one night. Hannibal was very quaint and the hotel is close to tons of stuff to do! Also I got to learn a lot about Mark Twain! Double win!!

    « Great Experience »

    « Hannibal, MO »

Best Western was a convenient and clean hotel. Across the street from Mark Twain Museum and a couple of blocks to the Mark Twain Brewery. Pool, Hot Tub and large communal area gave different feel from the normal hotel with rooms down long hallways. I would suggest staying on upper floors facing the Mississippi River. Light house and homes nestled up in the cliffs was eye pleasing. Courteous staff is what I found both times I stayed. The Mark Twain micro brewery had a great selection of beers and the bbq was great, especially the chicken wings which are smoked and then fried. Probably not heart-healthy but nontheless delicious.

    « Stopover in Hannibal »

We stayed at the Best Western on the River in Hannibal, Missouri on a recent trip down to Louisiana. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was hot and tasted good. The parking is a little limited, but space is at a premium at this location. If you get a river view room, get the ear plugs at the front desk, you can hear the trains going by!

I'm on a business trip traveling in northeast Missouri. I need to spend the night, so I looked at reviews on Trip Advisor. I'm glad I checked in here. I got a good price, plus an AAA discount. My room is larger than I expected, with a sofa and coffee table in front of the TV. I'm on the third floor, but because Hannibal is on a bluff of the Mississippi River, my car is parked on a bluff behind the third floor. So my car is parked on the same level as my room! I'm glad I'm spending the night here. I'll come back here sometime, when I can be a tourist in Hannibal. This hotel is in the middle of the historic district.

    « Best Western Hannibal »

This is a clean, comfortable, and convenient hotel located near the water in the downtown area of Hannibal. They now have two buildings which gives them plenty of rooms. I have stayed there multiple times and would not consider another hotel. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is also an indoor pool.

Nice new building so the room was beautiful but forgot the soundproofing during construction. Train horns blew throughout the night making sleep impossible. Pool was in another building across the street so not desirable to use on a cold evening.

« The Lap of Luxery in a Small Town »

Located in downtown Hannible, this hotel is close to shops and events that partake in the area. Upon arrival, you drive up to their front door for easy loading/unloading of your baggage. After walking through two electronic sliding doors, baggage carts are easily accessible just inside the main lobby. The people working the front desk are friendly and courteous. My room was reserved in advance, so checking in took just a couple of minutes and is easier than most other hotels. They had everything ready. The lobby occupies most of the first floor. I didn't notice any particular scent in there which is a good thing in my opinion. I've found some scents in hotels to be offending. It's nice they chose to remain neutral or use a mild scent that wasn't too potent for me to handle. There are plush and comfortable leather couches and single seat coushined chairs throughout. The environment is quiet and nice for lounging around tor read a nice book or the newspaper. There's an indoor pool with a stairway entry as well as a hoist entry for the disabled. The water is clear and the entire pool area is clean. They really thought this thing through when designing it. The pool was tempting but time didn't allow for me to take a dip in it. The rooms are split between three floors. The elevator is located in the middle of the lobby making it a centrally accessible to all rooms. The room we had was large and comfortable. Inside were two queen sized beds, a refrigerator, microwave oven, flat screen TV, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, coffee, cups and plenty of towels. The beds have plenty of pillows for those who like to surround themselves with them at night. On a follow-up trip a couple of months later, they expanded to a building across the street. This time, my wife and I reserved a room with two king sized beds. They were extremely comfortable and spacious providing an amazing place to rest. There was a breakfast buffet downstairs with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, instant oatmeal, coffee, milk, orange juice, and a waffle station. There were also some pasteries available. There is free, fast WiFi Internet access available only to the guests. A username/password was given to us along with the card keys we used to enter our room. Logging in granted 24 hours worth of access before having to login again. Using it took no effort. I have to thank the Dyer family (Grace, Romaine, and Sam) along with their amazing staff for making my stay here peaceful and wonderful. Any time I'm in the area, I'll be staying the night here.

    « Awful hotel staff »

I travel a lot for business and I know coming in late can be hard on the staff but its your job. The night we came in with my two daughters the staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience!!! The female was snotty, swore in front of my 4 and 6 year old while she was talking to her coworker. I asked her where we could park and her answer was anywhere you feel. So I asked anywhere around the building and her reply was "this is a historical district and we can't tear any of these buildings down" with about the most sarcastic voice you would ever hear. We finally try to get in our room and key did not work so we went back down to get another and she was talking to her friend and she just rolled her eyes and proceeded to tell me not to put the card by my phone. I told her it hadn't left my hand since she gave it to me and again she rolled her eyes. Finally we get in our room and the toilet ran all night but we didn't want to go through another ordeal with the person at the front desk so we just shut the door. Took a shower and didn't have a hair dryer. To top the cake the person at the front desk in the morning, I told him that our toilet flushed all night and he basically ignored me and said that that just happens sometimes. Never been so discouraged in a hotel staff. On a good note, the bed was really comfortable.

« In the heart of town »

We had a very nice stay in this hotel. I was pleased that it was right downtown. It was quiet at night and right across the street from the Mark Twain homestead. We could walk to all the things we wanted to see in town. I would certainly stay again.

« beautiful views in a super nice room »

This hotel was very nice and reasonable for a new building. The view of the river from our room was beautiful. The bathroom was beautiful. It was much more reasonably priced than comparable hotels we have been in recently.

    « Overpriced »

We were not aware of the festival this weekend but felt the room rates were very high. Also the front desk clerk was quite impatient with those of us checking in due to parking restrictions. The room was adequate however the bathroom mirror needs replacing as it has damage from moisture and left it with a haze. The breakfast was ok, biscuits were the best, but the area needed cleaning and there was only one person keeping the food area filled. With so many guests and the overflow hotel, they need more help during breakfast. I think our next visit we will check in elsewhere.

    « Good Breakfast »

Mostly, this is a good motel--probably the best in downtown Hannibal. Rooms were nice and mostly clean. We were there for three nights. However,, the last full day we were there, the keys did not work, and, more importantly, the room had not been cleaned, no new towels, coffee packets, soap or shampoo. Since we were out of the room all day, the desk clerk and other had to resupply the room since the cleaning staff was gone.

« Great location when staying in Hannibal, MO »

The location of this hotel is great for walking to the downtown area of Hannibal. Be sure to check the hours of different restaurants & attractions because some are closed on Mondays and some on Tuesdays.

    « Caution! »

This hotel has an indoor open pool in the lobby as you enter the hotel. The entire hotel smells like mold! My husband peeled a small amount of already peeling wall paper to expose mold. The ceiling had been patched and repainted to (we suspect) hide the mold. This far outweighed the comfortable bed and decent breakfast.

    « A night to remember! »

We greatly enjoyed staying at this hotel. The interior is set up in a very unique manner. The room was quiet and I had a great time. I was traveling on business and there was only one room left when we arrived so I chose to share with my business associate (boss). We had a great time and I hope to share rooms with him again very soon! I'll never forget the night.

    « On The River »

We stayed 4 nights and were very satisfied. We has a view of the river and downtown Hannibal from our window. It is just across the street from all the Historical District and on the same road that leads to Mark Twain Cave so access to tourist activities is a breeze. The rooms are modern and clean, the staff is friendly and the breakfast is great. You won't find better value for the money in the area.

    « Best Western- Hannibal »

Best Western- Hannibal, Missouri is a centrally located hotel for taking in the sights and landmarks of Mark Twain. A very pleasant stay. We would definately stay there again. We had two other families that stayed there and it would have been nice had we all been in the same building.

« Our best stay at the Best Western »

The best place to stay when visiting the Hannibal waterfront attractions. Very clean, comfortably priced. My wife and I had a third floor room overlooking the indoor pool. The room was up-to-date, bright, and worked out perfectly as parking was right at our level - the BW is on a hillside - and their glass elevator was always there for us. Breakfast was more than ample with variety. You can walk to almost anywhere in town from this location. Highly recommended!

« Comfortable Beds Quiet Room »

We had 2 king size beds which were extremely comfortable. It was convenient for both my sons to sleep on one and my granddaughter and I to sleep on the other. There was plenty of room for each of us to "spread out" and not bother the other person!! Even though we were on the ground floor, we weren't bothered by noise out in the parking lot. The bathroom was huge and you could hardly hear the shower!

« Best Location in Hannibal »

We spent a night here on the way to Kansas City. We love the river so requested a river view. It was a third floor room, in the older section of the hotel, and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. Sunrise over the Mississippi was spectacular. Hotel room was comfortable and clean. View down over the atrium was nice. Good breakfast. Our check-in gentleman was friendly as was the check-out one. Location cannot be beat -- you can walk to everything in Hannibal, a town with much to offer.
