Best Western on the Beach

My recent stay at the Best Western offered a mix of experiences, veering more towards the disappointing. The most glaring issue was the bed's comfort level, which fell significantly short of expectations. A good night's sleep is fundamental to any hotel stay, and unfortunately, the mattress provided was not conducive to restful slumber. The hotel's overall ambiance didn't help matters. The building's structure and hallway dynamics felt more akin to a barracks than a welcoming hotel, with the incessant slamming of doors throughout the day and night. This disturbance further detracted from the tranquility and relaxation one seeks when checking into a hotel. A seemingly small, yet impactful oversight was the absence of complimentary coffee in the lobby. It's a common amenity that many guests, myself included, look forward to and greatly appreciate. This minor letdown was compounded by the lack of creamer in the room, a basic staple that should be readily available for guests preferring their coffee with it. On a brighter note, the hotel's location did provide a redeeming quality. The view of the gulf from the balcony was genuinely impressive and offered a moment of solace amidst the otherwise underwhelming stay. The serene landscape and the calming sound of the waves did provide a temporary escape from the less pleasant aspects of the hotel. In summary, while the scenic view from the balcony was a highlight, the overall experience at the Best Western was marred by discomfort and a lack of attention to what many would consider essential amenities and comforts. For future stays, I hope to see improvements in these areas to match the promise of the beautiful vistas that initially drew me to the hotel.

Another amazing trip. I can't say enough about this place, always our home away from home. I can not wait to go back. Heather, thank you for everything, you always go above and beyond. Beds - super comfy Rooms- very clean Distance- perfect, walking distance to many places beach- right on beach breakfast- amazing every time All in all, only place we stay :) :)

I can't begin to compliment this hotel as much as they deserve. First, Heather at the front desk, went above and beyond to help me. We already had paid a good bit somewhere else and it was terrible. She knew our trip had started bad and was doing everything she could to make it better. Paid for street view but she ended up putting us in beachview rooms. She did so much for us and I appreciate her kindness so much. Our rooms were great. I can't say anything bad about this place or the staff. I do highly recommend it.

If you want a nice friendly staff that takes care of ya and are looking for a beautiful view of the Gulf with beds that are soft and fluffy pillows with an awesome shower, I'd highly recommend this place. Plus they have a breakfast restaurant inside with great breakfast. The only downside to this place is they did not have a washer and dryer. Other than that it was a 5/5 rating for us on our 3 night stay. We would love to stay again.

Amazing location and hotel for a family vacation. Right on the beach with spectacular views. Waking up each morning to that sunrise and on a comfortable bed is just want we needed during our vacation. The staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tubs while we were there. Very clean and nice design. The restaurant was great for a quick bite to eat. Highly recommend and will be staying there again soon.

momma e is freaking awesome!! she made us feel very welcomed, showed us where to go eat, to hang out etc. Definitely come stay here just to see her!! she's the sweetest!! very clean rooms, very sweet people working here! but momma E, she's the best!!!!

Heather was the absolute best person! She made my dream come true and got us an ocean front view room. She was extra helpful, kind, and best personality. The room is comfy, clean, and inviting. I give this hotel and customer service a 10 out of 10! Ask for Heather and you won't be dissatisfied

This was our 4th visit to this particular hotel. Maintenance is lacking. Outdoor shower broken, 2 cabinet doors in room broken. Clothes from previous tenant in nightstand. We stay here because of location, within easy walking/driving distance of everywhere we like to visit. Just appears as if Management is letting the maintenance slip in this particular location.

Pros: Everything seemed clean. The kitchenette was a nice addition even though I did not use it. Beds were comfortable and pillows nice. AC worked great but it was not hot during our visit. I love the location! The beach access is great and your close to everything. Front desk lady was nice and check in was easy with a reservation. Felt safe, the location is surrounded by condos and restaurants on the main strip. Room was spacious and the balcony was nice. Cons: There was an odor in the hallway that had a slight musty smell. Elevator smelled of weed but honestly everywhere we have stayed on this trip had that smell at one time or another… even 5 star we stayed in. Everything felt a little outdated in need of some upgraded decor. Not enough power outlets in room. According to my kids, this was great. I don't think they had one complaint other than the smells in the hallway and elevator.

Indoor pool is slightly heated, the two hot tubs are nice to have during the spring time. The price of the king room was $270, compared to $170 at the phoenix next to the hangout with two restrooms, 1 king bed, 2 bunks, full kitchen, 9th floor view, huge balcony, and pool. We had breakfast once at the island pancake house and regret ever spending $50 on the added gratuity, warm milk, oj, and two meals… too overpriced and I didn't even eat the country ham, just stick to bacon and hopefully nothing goes wrong! Have fun!!!

The hotel was very clean with very friendly staff. It's right on the beach with outdoor and indoor pool options. The restaurant is a little pricey. Really comfortable room, beds were great and had a nice relaxing bath.

Was sound asleep when the room door was opened with a key not a member of my party. I alerted my spouse when they tried to enter again, yelled even louder and they left. The next morning when to see the manager to find out what happened. Was told the front desk put another family in our room and we were in the wrong room. We checked in at 4pm. How were we in the wrong room. The manager did not have time for us and that was the only explanation we received. I was worried the whole time that someone else could get into our room. save yourself a headache stay somewhere else. Damp musty room needs a overhaul.

I made reservations on booking.com. I paid for a two bed hotel room with kitchenette and a gulf view. When I arrived I was told that I would have to pay an extra $90 for the room. The owner helped me get on booking.com to fix this situation. They said they couldn't do anything. They actually hung up on the hotel owner, then when I called them back they disconnected from me. I am still trying to get this refunded. Thankfully, Mr Bobby Thompson let us have the file view room. Lesson learned-book directly with the hotel. I'm canceling my reservations for next week.

Booked a 3 night stay but check out a day earlier due to personal issues. Once arriving, check in was very easy and the staff was very friendly! Once entering our room, we noticed it was missing a microwave, which no big deal to us, we noticed the bedding was dirty and torn though. Went downstairs and asked if it was to late to receive new bedding, instead, staff upgraded us to a new room and was very apologetic for the bedding! The new room was great, very clean and comfortable, even had a better view, and a microwave, and the best thing is the bedding was spotless! House keeping also made sure each morning we had a made bed, clean trash bins and fresh towels! Beds were comfortable. The location of the hotel was overall a great spot. Would definitely stay here again, it was a very quiet place, and you could sit on your balcony without having to smell cigarettes since they didn't allow you to smoke on the balcony, so that was a plus to me.

Room was nice, pool was amazing, and the view was stunning. Minor incident with the room keys but it was fixed right away. 2 HOT TUBS!! Will defiantly stay here again! We were in town for my husband and friends to run a race and this hotel was great!

A little aged but otherwise quite nice. Staff was extremely friendly. A great location, very near to many great restaurants. Right on the beach. There is a restaurant on the property, but we did not make use of it.

The hotel is a great location! Right there when you turn on the main road and close to everything. It's was an interesting set up of a room, with the tub just a few feet from the bed. It was all the essentials otherwise. The jets, however, didn't seem to be fully clean because there were particles coming out of them the left a residue on myself and the tub. Also, the hot water didn't even last to fill it up. The building seems pretty old though.

Very clean and comfortable room. Great price. Excellent view of the water. Convenient location. Friendly staff. Definitely would recommend. Off season visit so little traffic. Great nearby restaurants.

This property was not what we expected based upon the advertisement and room prices. There was not complimentary coffee and the meal prices were highly inflated. The room was only cleaned one time in five days. The location was excellent and the front desk attendants were very professional and helpful. Most likely would not stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is directly on the sand. Our room had a small kitcheette and balcony. The chairs on the balcony were extremely small, hard and uncomfortable so bring a bag chair. The beds are so comfortable! Like sleeping on a cloud. The room was very clean. Parking was easy. Nice pool area. Easy beach access right out of the elevator. The only improvement there could be a boardwalk or beach mat which the hotel should invest in. Be prepared for a long walk through very soft sinking sand. It's tough on bad knees. The beach and view is absolutely gorgeous! We have stayed here several times and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back.

We could seem to get the room cleaned . The room the bed was not maed our towels were not changed out the sand was not vaccumed for 3 days . . If I have wanted to do every thing my self I would have rented a house or condo . That girl could not speak English . Next time I will rent a house or condo on the beach at least I will know where to put the garbage .I even stopped at the front desk Monday and ask to get it cleaned for all the good it did

We had never been to Gulf Shores, AL for our church family retreats. It was a new place for our church, but you made us feel very welcomed and we had a great time. The seminars, the baptisms in the ocean, the wedding on the beach and the renewal of vows were all perfect! Thank you.

This was a birthday trip. It was dated, dirty, smelled like natural gas and the elevator kept hanging up. Thought we were going to get stuck in the elevator. The location is the only good thing I can say. We could walk to restaurants and entertainment. Do better…

There are many problems that I've gotten worse over the past couple years. The cleanliness of the room is not good we had stains on our comforter on our last day, the room service people skipped our room, you had to kick the elevator door to get it to close so you could use it, the ice machine didn't work on the floor we were on, and the last few times we stayed the covered pool and hot tub area made our hair stink. there's also no breakfast included with your stay no matter what room purchase you have to go to the restaurant that is separate from the hotel, but built into the hotel and it's gonna cost you about 40 to 60 bucks for you and your spouse to eat or you'll have to get up early, get dressed and go to the waffle house down the street. The staff seems uninterested in any problems that you tell them about. I even told them how room service skipped her room and didn't clean it or give us towels and they shrugged it off and just handed me some towels. Expressed concerned about is addressed. Last time we stayed before this time, we didn't have a toilet seat in our room, and it took them 36 hours to finally get us A toilet seat

Very nice atmosphere. Rooms are great. Reasonably priced. This was our second visit. Staff is great and accommodating. The restaurant for breakfast was good. Access to the beach was good, easy. I work in hospitality so I have a different perspective than most guests. Will keep coming back when I am in the area.

Terribly OLD/outdated hotel (80's?) and over-priced. Hard-working staff, but they just can't do much considering the physical condition of the property. Baths are tiny, no comfortable chairs in room, no supplies in kitchenette, pool furniture all broken, outside showers not working, hallway carpet worn out and dirty, NO on-site maintenance.

Room had a limited view but could still see the ocean well. Pool was nice. Location is on side closest to orange beach so super quick to get there and back! Right on beach. Would stay again. Beach was not crowded at all for entire trip. Great area if you've never been. Hotel is good for the price and can't beat where it sits.

Beautiful location but very basic accommodation. Bed was comfortable but bed linen basic. Pool is very small. There are a lot of ant's around the loungers though. Housekeeping did a good job of cleaning our room. I would recommend only for the ocean view.

My husband and I had a great time here! Great views of the ocean, clean rooms, and staff was nice and professional. The pool was great. Location is close to shopping and restaurants. We definitely recommend staying here.

I have been staying at ‘Best Western on The Beach' Gulf Shores for 40 years. It is very clean and the employees are all so friendly and helpful. I like it because they have an indoor and outdoor pool, 2 hot tubs, and a wonderful Pancake House restaurant! I really appreciate the Bible that is in the nightstand! The only recommendation I have is that they cover the ramp for loading on rainy days. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! The best!

Great place to stay. Very clean. Staff all offered great customer service. Location was great. Bed was very comfortable. Loved the breakfast at the pancake restaurant inside the hotel. Elevators were very hot inside. Not sure what was going on there. It was extremely hot so it could of been from that.

There was no walk to the beach. You literally walked from the concrete directly to the sand. Everyone was very friendly and having an indoor and outdoor pool outside was nice. They had vending machines throughout the hotel. And parking was close and convenient.

Poor service. Booked and paid for ocean side view with kitchenette through Alaska Airlines site. Provided parking lot view with crappy kitchenette and told by check in staff that the booking site was deceiving us. They didn't apologize or offer any suggestions. The hotel smelled like weed everyday all day. The kitchenette didn't include dish towels, dish soap, or forks; the dishes were dirty and part of the oven was broken. The site offered to include breakfast for an additional charge… i'm glad we didn't pay for that as it was not an actual option. The sheer curtains in the hotel room were missing. There were fans set up throughout the lobby and breakfast area due to condensation build up. The pools were decent, but they clearly aren't actually cleaned and are lacking upkeep.

Room was small but bed was OK. Couldn't check in until 4pm so husband jumped in shower after the beach and when I tried to wash up at sink there was no water at all from left (hot) faucet. Went to desk (6pm) and they said they would have some on check it tomorrow. Breakfast is NOT included and was $20 for my husband alone and didn't open on time. Coffee wasn't good there or in room. Asked at checkout if they would give us a small adjustment on bill for inconvenience. Elana said she would talk to manager (Alan) and email me a receipt. Tried to call several times when that never happened and it became very apparent Alan was never going to talk to me. Should have know when room was available on such short notice right on the beach something was wrong. Book ahead of time and get what you pay for or a least a management that cares

The rooms were good, but everywhere else was dirty or broken. Nothing was kept up. Weeds all around the pool, filthy elevator( which had the heat on), I have a video of a rat by the pool. There were electrical plugs with no covers, no cover on the contained fire extinguisher, broken lounge chairs by pool, weeds and dead palm tree, outdoor shower by pool didn't work, vending machine had 0 water, I have pictures of most of these.

Our first time staying here , was great we will most definitely be coming back here . Very clean and being right on the beach made it even better !! Staff was extremely friendly and was very helpful !!! The views from our room was amazing as well !

My room was clean and comfortable and all systems from AC to coffee maker worked well. Walked down the stairs and a few steps onto the beach. The pool was perfect, sitting quietly on the shelf where the pool water flows over the neck shoulders like a personal waterfall. My room had a full kitchen too, which I did not expect checking in on the fly without a reservation. Ideal place to stay to be within walking distance of the Pink Pony, Hangout, etc. I'll definitely book here again. For an older property, a classic for me having grown up in Gulf Shores, I was impressed with how well management has kept the property in good shape. I highly recommend this property for an affordable beach getaway.

The property is outdated and dirty. The elevator was sketchy. The carpets in the room and hall were filthy. The pool area had cigarette butts all over. The location is ok but the property is a notch above a hostel.

The room wasn't clean. Hair in shower and trash left from previous guest. Too pricey for uncleanliness. We were prepared to pay more than average because of the time of the year but I expected a clean room. If trash is left, what else wasn't cleaned properly.

The carpet in the hallways are nasty. The carpet in the room is not clean. There was carpet stains in our room. The A/C could not keep our room cool. When we first entered the room, the back door was open.

Great location! Right on the beach with great views. I enjoyed sipping my coffee while watching the dolphins early in the morning. There are food places in walking distance. Showers to rinse off sand before heading back into the hotel are easy to locate and use. The beach didn't feel crowded since it was behind the hotel and away from public parking. We didn't utilize the pools or restaurant so can't speak on those. The beds were comfy. Best sleep I've gotten in a while. Room was clean (even my 10 year old commented on that). It is a beach hotel so things aren't pristine, there was some cracked grouting and discoloration on ceiling as well as bathroom wall. Microwave and mini fridge worked. We were on the 6th floor and it was quiet, we did not hear our neighbors on either side. There was plenty of parking. The 2 gentlemen working when we checked out were professional and kind. Would be more than happy to stay again. Prices were comparable for the area but you're definitely paying for location.

We had the best stay! We decided to come a night early and needed a place to rest, this staff hooked us up with the best view! We will definitely be back for a long weekend stay! My kids loved the pool!

We loved staying at the Best Western! We had booked a condo and at the last minute our arrangements fell through. We were able to book 6 nights at the Best Western without difficulty. The staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean. We loved the balcony overlooking the beach! The pancake house was excellent as well. Would definitely recommend!

Roland and the owner was very considerate . They took care of my needs and request. We were stuck in non moving traffic for hours . Roland talked to the owner to provide us a cancellation. I'm grateful for them being considerate .

Convenient, on the beach, walking distance of restaurants, clean, FYI: if you smoke , you would be charged $250 plus cleaning fees if any evidence is in room OR smoking on balconies. You will sign a printout acknowledgement and agree to the policy

The view was very beautiful right on the beach & the different size pools was very awesome for my kids . The only bad thing I can say is that the sheets were kind of gross there was a few stains on them & the shower curtain was nasty . But overall it was good .

Room needs a little paint touch up here and there, but it was clean. Really comforable beds and bedding. A nice and comfortable weekend getaway spot. And the ocean view off the balcony was worth any inconvienience. We look forward to our next trip!

Ok. But would not stay here again. A few covered parking spots but a big lot out in open. Doors are not secures. Doors open to the outside and anyone can walk in from the street. Pool looked nice but not heated. Hot tub was outside in middle of parking lot with siding door to enter - very odd. Hotel was run down and needs remodeling but it is on the ocean. View was fab with private balcony. HOWEVER, a storm went through the night before so no cable tv, no phone to call front desk, and next morning no hot water. We were able to check out and only pay for the 1 night was stayed despite reserving 2 nights. It's not as nice of an area compared to Orange Beach and even closer to Perdido. We saw a YouTube review of the Tides Best Western in Orange Beach and it looked nice, but they have 2 diff owners. It wasn't the worst place we've ever stayed but certainly not the best. Would not stay here again.

Place was disgusting. Everywhere. Room, hallway, lobby, restaurant. Breakfast not provided, you had to pay. Way overpriced and was nasty. We didn't even eat. For me and my husband it was $40+. Staff was unfriendly. Spent our honeymoon here and we were extremely upset. Asked to switch to the best western down the road and they refused.

Beautiful room and property. The view was spectacular and they do what they can to make each guest happy. The staff was amazing and accommodating. I just wish the hot tub outdoors worked, but the indoor hot tub worked. The beach is beautiful to wake up to and hear the waves crashing.

This place is amazing !!! We come down at least 2-3 times a year, and this is our home away from home. From check in to check out, we are treated like family. The staff goes above and beyond every day we stay. The beds are SUPER COMFY !! The rooms are very clean. The Pancake house has DELICIOUS breakfast. And the beach is right there, no walking down a long pier. This is also the cleanest beach I have ever been to. The staff is just so sweet and amazing !! Heather the manager is absolutely amazing, and always goes above and beyond for our stays. The location is PERFECT !!! Right on the beach. The updated pool is beautiful and very refreshing after a long day on the beach. This place never disappoints. We were in need of a little weekend getaway, and this place DEFINETELY exceeds our expectations again. Thank you Best Western for our home away from home. The only place I will ever stay in the Gulf Shores :) :)

The hotel has some issues. Being outside of peak season the staff did not seem to care about guests or service. The hot tubs did not work, when we asked how to access the hot tubs the lady at the counter told us where the door was, only to get in there and discover they were ice cold. When we returned to the desk and asked about it she says "yeah, they are broken". Rather than tell us before we walked out in the rain to discover it for ourselves she held that info to herself. She also said we could rent beach chairs which turned out to be false. The water pressure is barely a drizzle and the beds are rock hard. The only bright spot is the housekeeping which does a good job. Other than that, there are much better options along the strip, I will be going there next time.

Could have went anywhere, but chose here. However, TV has been out and none of the spa/hot tubs work. Cold water. Said they're waiting for parts, but of course the price is still the same. Don't feel like I'm getting what I paid for and could have easily booked somewhere else had I known.

Best Western provided a great, quiet, clean stay with a fabulous restaurant for breakfast. Easy to find, close to lots of hangouts! Everything was so convenient! Already planning a return!! Thanks, Best Western! "We'll be baaaack!"

Checked in with Momma E and she certainly helped make our first trip to Gulf Shores an amazing one. She gave restaurant suggestions that were fabulous and even went as far as showing us what true southern hospitality is. She made and brought in her shrimp and grits, THE BEST!! Feel in love with the town and beaches. We will definitely be back. Again, thank you Momma E.

I wanted a room with a balcony looking out at the beach and there was only one left. (I did not make a reservation ahead of time). The manager had marked it out of service because the last guest had punched a hole in one of the walls. He said the room was clean and usable, the hole was the only issue. I said that wouldn't bother me, so he gave me the room and a coupon for a free breakfast the next morning. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I had breakfast at the restaurant the next day. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Everything in the room worked great, including the internet service. TV was very basic cable so there wasn't a lot to choose from, but the great location right on the beach with restaurants, shops, bars, etc... within walking distance made up for that. Highly recommend.

This hotel is in a great spot in Gulf Shores, and having private balconies is definitely a bonus. However, the lobby had an unpleasant odor and the area for snacks is tiny. Oh, and if you want a soda, water or snack you better bring cash. No cards or charging to your room. The lobby and elevator didn't give me confidence in their cleanliness. The bathroom sorely needed mopped, and the carpet could use a shampoo. Being right on the beach I'm sure keeping the floors clean is a bigger challange. The flooring was nice, but needed cleaned. The beds were comfortable, and the bedding was clean. The pillows were a dream! The rooms on the west end are only ocean view, which is great, except there's nothing to block the street/parking lot noise. I also think it kept it harder to keep the room cool.

Pools and restaurant were great. Location great. Bed had hidden fresh urine stains that were obviously not cleaned and smelled through the sheets. Trash cans were barely replaced each day. Never vacuumed. Great for location and amenities but poor for cleanliness.

Momma E was so amazing from start to finish. My husband met her first as we got married on the beach on 8-31. I met her a couple days later when my husband said you have to meet the lady at the front desk. Momma E even mailed off our wedding certificate using her own personal stamp. She gave us lots of info about places to go visit and eat from a document she personally created!! She made the stay very enjoyable for us and we gained a new personal friend on her! Room was dirty and unkept mildue and mold around the water heater carpet was pulled up around the edge of the room fridge was dirty staff ignoring our problems and told us a manager would call and we still havent headr from one

We will remember to let our bank know when we travel out of state. When checking in our card was declined and didn't know why. Payed cash our first night until i could call the bank in the morning. Heather from the front desk was wonderful at taking care of our situation and made our stay much nicer. The beach view was wonderful and loved seeing the dolphins. Conveniently located by restaurants and shops. DeSoto's, Shrimp Basket and Sunliner Diner were our favorites. Thanks again Heather for all you did for making our stay relaxing . The Charles

Stayed here for my kiddos birthday and it wasn't really anything special but a decent hotel overall. They have both and indoor and outdoor pool as well as 2 hot tubs. It's not very modern but the room was clean. We got a breakfast plate Togo and it was delicious. We plan to stay here again.

I adore this hotel. This was our 10th time staying here, and it is always so relaxing. Friendly staff, clean from top to bottom, comfy beds, awesome squishy pillows, and the shower is always fabulous. No water pressure or temperature issues. Looking forward to stay #11!

Was in town for Grandmother's funeral, and decided to drive over to Gulf Shores a few days after and bring the kids to the beach. Had so much fun that we decided to look into getting a room. Was pleasantly surprised to find an available room with Best Western on the Beach! We will definitely come back again! The room was clean, view was great, and the food and service at Island Pancake House was great as well!

Nice place to stay. Surprised to find such CLEAN friendly place on the beach. .Large room big bathroom, balcony over looking the ocean. Felt safe the entire stay. Will stay with them again. Parking free some covered. If you don't need a condo this is the place.

We stayed in a room with a balcony facing the water/beach. We got on the elevator and walk directly out to the beach. Best view ever! The Pancake House was absolutely incredible. The rooms are a little dated but everything else totally made up for that small part. The hotel is located within walking distance of lots of amenities. I plan on going back with my family.

During our party's stay, we were greeted by a semi-outdated room, a rather cramped lobby, a poorly stocked guest shop, a restaurant inside the hotel (not complimentary, for a longer stay the price tends to add up) that can be described as alright at best, as well as not being informed that there was an indoor pool for the entirety of our stay. When the weather interfered with the outdoor pool, we were unable to do hardly anything but sit in our small room and wait until the rain stopped when we could've made use of the amenity that we paid money for. Overall, the only reason we would stay at this accommodation again is if there was no other place to stay in Gulf Shores or the neighboring town of Orange Beach.

Amazing staff, very detail oriented. Choose to stay here for 4 nights after only booking for 1. Rooms are spacious with decent balcony. Most anything is within walking distance and hotel is right on the beach with OUTDOOR SHOWERS!!!! Rooms have a decent AC unit and beds are quite comfortable. The staff is amazing (Alan), and although the restaurant was having staffing issues, we did get to eat there once. A little pricey but very decent portions. Would definitely consider staying here again!

Gulf front rooms with kitchenette and balcony are really nice. Location to beach is great but a continental breakfast with some fresh fruit would be even better for the price. Walking distance to many restaurants.

Family of 4- stayed here for 3 nights. Nice view of the ocean! The room was clean and beds were comfortable. This hotel is in a great location on the strip (and obviously right on the beach) The kitchenette was nice to have, providing small fridge, small sink, cabinets, microwave and a burner. Had some random dishes, but no dish soap. I was glad I brought disposable items. The room was small- typical hotel/motel kind of room, but perfect for a short stay. We were barely in the room, since we were steps away from the beach, and nice pools. My kids loved the indoor pool and never wanted to leave it! We were very pleased with this hotel, and would definitely stay again!

I paid for last minute. $2300 for 4 nights. I expected way more. Our room got cleaned once during the entire stay. Even when I requested cleaning, it did not happen. I reported a broken bed/mattress. My daughter fell out of the bed twice because of the downward slope of this thing. No one came. All of the raving reviews I have seen about their service was not what I experienced.

Stay here for our first trip to Gulf Shores. Very pleased with the friendly staff. Beds were comfortable room was clean. Very short walk to the ocean and gorgeous white sands. We didn't take advantage of the restaurant but was told by many guest it was enjoyable.

We were able to book a room same day check-in (probably paid double if not triple). Room temp was the worse complaint. It never cooled down enough for us. I did let the front desk know when we were leaving. We did not check out the pool but it looked neat from the balcony. The walk to the beach is as not bad. Waiting for the elevator would be the only other complaint. They only have one for the wing. We were fortunate to not have to park in the overflow parking lot each night. It would have been a hassle with a two-year-old. We would probably stay again due to the location is perfect even if our experience wasn't.

Location of hotel was perfect to the beach & walking & driving distance to shops & places to eat. Room size is huge but room 99 is in a horrible location right off the elevator & above outside people traffic where there was so much noise until very late hours of the night. Furniture was a little stained which is off putting. We were not in the room much but would stay here again as long as we didn't get that room or anything located on the outside entrance of the hotel

The location is perfect but the rooms need some updates. Wear and tear and odors noticed from moisture. I have stayed twice in July and didn't have a noise issue the first time but did the last time due to noisy guests next door. Room was exceptionally clean. I was actually impressed because the cleaning crew always had clean mop water and wasn't just smearing dirty water around. The soft mattress did cause my back to hurt .. so keep in mind if you need a firm mattress.

Price was good for beachfront, but needs updated. Carpet smelly and dingy, but beds comfortable and clean. No where to hang wet items. Limited electrical plugs. Very good wi-fi. Bring your own beach towel. Pool towels size of a hand towel and they guard them like Fort Knox -- ID required to check them out. Not enough staff in restaurant so very slow and long wait - but food was good.

Racheal at the front desk had amazing customer service. The hotel was clean, Ac was cold, food was hot, service was great. Beds seem to be worn out. Room 210 had an amazing view* No safe in rooms. Kitchenette had dishes and everything worked. I'd stay again if traveling that way.

Some of the staff could be nicer. Elena however was the best!!! The ladys during the day are very rude. I asked for tp and was promptly told to come get it. Unbelievable. I was happy to have people help with our luggage.

Very nice facility. An older, traditional motel type facility. We didn't need all of the bells and whistles, We needed a pool, a beach access and a place to eat breakfast. This facility checks all of the boxes well.

This was a completely unplanned trip to Gulf Shores. When I called the reservation desk I was greeted with a most pleasant lady that was very helpful. I told her what we wanted & she made it happen Rooms were ready when we got there I enjoyed sitting on the balcony & seeing the gulf with the rolling waves & a dolphin or two. Not 100% sure, but I think we saw some manatees going along the shore Management was very helpful & friendly Wish I'd been able to spend a few more days Breakfast was great also (staff in kitchen were friendly & efficient)

Beautiful beach. White sand beach. Beach was clean. Hotel does not offer free breakfast. There is a pancake house connected. Place looked like it has suffered some spring break activity. Ok stay for close to beach. It I'd located on a strip of many hotels.

I would have been disappointed if I had paid the full price. The back doorknob to the balcony was about to fall off, fortunately there was a deadbolt. The employees worked very hard to keep it clean. Beds were very comfortable and view was awesome. Easy to access.

They say that we smoked in the room witch we did not my wife smoke down stirs and put her cigs butts in a bottle and would bring them back up to room and it was left i. The trash in room so they say we smoked in room and put some out on there bar in room witch never happened because there was no smoking in the room at all plus said they had prof but will not send it to my email so thats why they are liars and now that they have took 250$ from us that makes them thief's so if i was you i would not stay at a place that stills from you and calls you a lier i will never ever go back to that place are stay at another best western ever again

Staff and manager were very helpful and made checking in a lot easier. The rooms were nice and we had a great view of the ocean! The woman at the front desk and the manager were really accommodating and good kind people. Definitely recommend if you need somewhere to stay last minute or for vacation.

Let's start with the location...it was AMAZING!!! This hotel sits right on the sand. There's no boardwalk and no long walk to the beach. You get off the elevator and there is the sand. You couldn't have any easier beach access. This alone was the #1 reason I booked this hotel. All of the major souvenir shopping and restaurants are close, too. They're only a 1/2 mile away. It's a super easy walk to get to everything. The waterpark, mini golf, Wal-Mart and several other important stops are less than two miles away. The staff was super nice as well. Heather at the front desk really went out of her way to help me and my family extend our stay an extra three days. She was amazing! As far as the rooms, they are what you see. They're simple, basic hotel rooms. Nothing fancy, but's that's OK. Our room was very clean and the beds were VERY comfortable. The bathrooms are very small and compact, but clean. My only complaint about the room is that the TV channels were hard to find and they were not in HD. The outdoor pool is also very small. As long as you and your family are the only ones in the pool, you'll be OK. If others want to join, it's gets too crowded and you can't enjoy it. The indoor pool is really big, though. My biggest complaint - and the only reason I didn't give 5 Stars in this review - is the breakfast situation. There's no hot breakfast available. There's not even a continental breakfast available. Your only breakfast option is the restaurant on site. The food is OK, but it's very pricey. Definitely NOT worth the price they charge on the menu. We ended up walking next door to waffle house and ate more food, for half the price. I knew all of this before I booked my stay, so it's my fault, not the hotel's. I guess I was hoping the restaurant on site wasn't going to be as expensive as it was. After staying for seven days - in a basic hotel for over $450 per night - I wish I at least had continental breakfast for my family. If you're looking for a good, CLEAN, basic hotel with easy beach access, friendly staff at the front desk and close to shopping and restaurants, this is your place! I give it a solid 9/10. Great rooms at a great rate for a last minute vacation with 4 grandkids. Right on the beach and had an indoor and outdoor pool.... I met the general manager and he was so polite and the manager of HK was even pulling double dute in teh pancake house and was very efficient and got us seated promply. Access to the beach was easy and the area outside to rinse off was perfect. Rooms were the cleanest I have ever stayed in and the HK staff was friendly and professional... A Diamond Hidden on the coast.. We will be back to this one......Very reasonable.......

Heather was amazing! Extremely helpful and kind. Went out of her way to make sure my friends and I were taken care of. The absolute epitome of southern hospitality. Absolutely recommend this place to stay when in quaint little gulf shores!

I'd been to the restaurant years ago ($$$), but this was the first time I've stayed here. They're obviously understaffed. It needs updating and repairs (cosmetic and safety) and is not very accommodating to mobility issues. The one thing going for it is being on the beach- but there is now free public access with ample free parking right next door! Save money by staying somewhere else and driving 5 minutes to the beach. Any other chain is better.

I would not have been so upset about the price during peak hours but this was a kitchenette that did not include a spatula or any other useful utensils for cooking and had 2 total plastic plates and bowls. The room was old and the cooling did not work very well.

This BW is situated nicely on the beach with easy access to the beach and to restaurants along the street. The restaurant offers a convenient place to eat and other places to eat are within a few minutes walk or drive. I recommend asking for the beach view, but the street view is not bad for people watching. The plus side of the establishment is on site parking and easy access to elevators. The down side is the sound insulation is lacking where there are doors between rooms. You hear everything from babies crying to televisions and alarms.

At the time of our stay, rates were good especially for beachfront. Loved having the full size fridge, stove/oven, and microwave. Location is perfect being within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Main complaint would be the carpet in halls and rooms which are not good for guests coming and going from the beach which made it smell musty and feel dirty.

We checked in here, it was amazing had such a great time we decided to stay an extra day. The manager Alan worked with us so we could extend our stay and remain in the same room. Excellent customer service

I stayed here with my family and we enjoyed the balcony overlooking the beach. The hotel was clean and room was also. It was very comfortable and loved the pools. We stayed half of our trip swimming. I'll be coming back often.

We had an amazing experience here and will definitely stay again. It was right on the beach and all the staff was helpful especially the manager Alan. He went above and beyond to help us during our stay. Would recommend this place 10 stars

My husband and I and our daughter stayed at this hotel in May 2022. We liked the location, and that it was on the beach. I recommend paying extra to get a view of the beach instead of the parking lot. Generally speaking, it was very overpriced for the quality of the room. It had a kitchenette, but it was pretty rundown, with a small bathroom and cleanliness was lacking. The front desk staff were great, and parking is free which was nice. I was not happy with the housekeeping. I don't think that we would stay here again if we could find another hotel with a similar location.

This hotel was great. When you park in the garage there is sand a couple of feet away. Parking was free. They have two indoor hot tubs with jets and a large heated pool as well. Bathrooms were poolside. Outside there was one kiddie pool and another heated pool. The beds were so comfy and the room was spotless. Housekeeping was awesome. They came by everyday to ensure we had all the towels, toiletries, etc we needed. Every room had a balcony and WiFi was really fast. The beach had lifeguards and was very clean. The beach access was just steps away from the elevator.The location of the hotel was great as well. There was a Waffle House and a Hooters right across the street as well as a convenience store. Bars were a few blocks down, short 5 min walk.We really enjoyed the Hangout. The state park and pier were also close by. The Island Pancake House, located inside the hotel, was great as well, just a little pricey. The restaurant charged a convenience fee for using cards instead of cash which was only a few dollars but felt unnecessary. Can't wait to come back and stay longer.

The room was much nicer and cleaner than what I expected, since this cost of this hotel was lower than all others in the area. There were no issues at all to report. Beds were super comfy, and oh, and the ocean view was just what the doctor ordered. The only thing that may have made it better would be some sort of breakfast included, or even some morning coffee and juice. There was a pancake place on the premises, but it cost extra. There was a coffee maker in the room but only enough for 1 cup per person. Otherwise, no other complaints.

Pillows were amazing...i mean laying on a cloud comfortable!! Rooms were very clean!! Close to everything! Staff was very friendly and accomodating! Kitchenette was amazing and had everything we needed!! We will be back!

Dirty room-all electronics unplugged-refrigerator freezer has melted water all over the place. Bed looked like it had been slept in. Popcorn on floor when we arrived and most likely still there. Coke machine on 5th floor was empty. Breakfast menu was very misleading-omelets $12.00 something for 3 eggs/$4.00 a piece. We were told it comes with anything in it. Prices for additional (2x) portions of addons were on menu, but you were charged for everything individually and $12.00 something per omelet. For 2 people to eat omelets, 1 cup of coffee, 1 cup of water it was $40.00 +. We could have eaten in a buffet or anywhere else, gotten more food options, for 1/2 the price. You are also charged 3.5% if you pay with credit card. Not worth the room or the breakfast. I paid $519.78 for two nights in a dirty room that I had to clean and we did not feel safe to sleep on the dirty bed. We slept on what we brought because the bed looked like it had been slept in. Nasty & not worth the price for the room or the breakfast - very misleading breakfast menu. The waitress flat out lied to us about the price of the omelet and how everything was broken down.

I really appreciate this hotel letting us check in early! Nice staff, good beds & pillows, clean & well maintained room. I can't imagine the upkeep on an oceanfront property like this. I was on the 3rd floor facing the ocean, which was so amazing. I will not soon forget the sound of the waves. The kids enjoyed the two hot tubs and indoor pool. The outdoor pool was a little cold this time of year. It was so nice to be able to access the beach so easily. The island pancake house in the hotel is convenient, but the food isn't great and it will set you back $13 for an omelette. I can't wait to return someday. I think first floor facing the ocean would be ideal.

Great location, the room was clean and offered everything I needed. We was able to access the pool prior to check in while waiting for our room to be available. The pool area was not as nice as it had been on previous stays. The beach access was wonderful and clean.

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western on the Beach. We were very impressed that this hotel was very clean and well maintained and safe. We loved the conveniences that this hotel offers: awesome beach front location, comfortable beds, balcony was a bonus, wonderful restaurants and shops nearby and very family friendly. Our son enjoyed the hotel pool while we relaxed in one of two hot tubs. The hotel staff and maid service were very friendly and attentive! Thank you Best Western for the wonderful and relaxing stay!

I must say this was a wonderful place to stay. Friendly staff rooms were very clean. Location is great. This hotel isn't large it's just a perfect size. No complaints at all. I will be back to stay again soon.

We had planned on only staying four nights, but after our second day extended two more. It's that nice of a property. The staff was super accommodating. We got room 100, which had a separate bedroom with two king beds, which is absolutely perfect for families where the kids go to bed earlier. Huge living space and kitchenette. Two balconies. We found this property online and it's one of the best travel decisions we've ever made. We had strongly considered booking a condo or apartment, but this property had everything we needed — without all the extra fees. Thank you to the wonderful staff, especially Ashley, who helped at the front desk day 1 and then served breakfast the next day. Just absolutely wonderful.

Very nice and friendly place to stay. It is close to the beach also. Needs to have better access from outside to 3 rd floor ect. The food in the hotel restraint was not that great and the pool inside was in continent from hotel.

Had a pleasant experience here. Place was clean and rigjt next to the beach. Great rooms that were clean. Will be coming back ! There was a covered pool which was wonderful. The outside pool and hot tub were awesome as well !

The trip and managers are amazing! they have the best staff! i really enjoyed my stay and felt absolutely safe. The hotel is right on the beach and has an amazing view. I stayed with 3 other people and it was great spacing to!

The room was nice and clean. The view off the balcony was nice, I could see the pool below and also see the beach. The beds were comfortable. The internet worked great but the TV was a little hard to work.

We took our daughter for spring break and had reserved another hotel and at check-in everything seemed good but after returning to our room from supper it smelled a strong odor like someone had been smoking weed, we brought it to the manager's attention and he said there was nothing he could do about it so we left and got us a room at the Best Western! What a blessing in disguises, the hotel was very nice, the staff was great and I felt safe there with my teenage daughter and that in itself is a GOLD star for me! The girls loved the indoor pool and hot tub and we were right down the road from the hangout! The morning beach views were amazing!

It was a last minute trip for me and my boyfriend and i came across this room on booking.com everything was nice for a one night . Me & my boyfriend already know where we will be booking again just the ocean view next time instead of the street view everything was great though

I enjoyed the location and the room service was great….plenty of linens and clean room. Had a personal concern that I shared with desk staff that was addressed. Overall staff were ok…not overly friendly but not bad. Would go back there.

This hotel should get a Negative 10 We were pleased to arrive, but happier to leave. Worst experience ever. Elevator was slower than watching paint dry. Hotel staff were very unfriendly. TV did not work in one room, and we were moved to another room, the night clerk almost threw the room key at me--- very unprofessional.... Also the room phone did not work.... and when I tried to call to the front desk--- using my cell phone and the phone number listed, I was connected to the central reservation office.... they tried to connect to the local hotel and they could not, which meant I had to make several trips to the front desk, using the "speedy" elevator. I would not stay here again if it were FREE!!!! Do yourself a huge favor and stay somewhere else.....

Overall, our stay at The Best Western On The Beach was very peaceful. We had a lovely evening out on our ocean view balcony. We decided to sleep with the sliding door open to hear the waves as we rested on the most comfortable bed. The outdoor pool was incredibly refreshing, and the red lighting created a very intimate atmosphere. However, the water at the indoor pool felt really slimy, and the indoor hot tub had a lot of flakes in it. Also, the tap in our shower was coming off the wall. I really look forward to coming back next year.

We stayed a couple of nights here and had a room with a nice view of the Gulf. The room was comfortable although dated and small by today's standards. The bathroom is especially small. The staff was good and I give it average on cleanliness although being a beach hotel I know it is tough to keep clean. Nothing major wrong with it just seems to be average overall .

It is a little old and worn. Located very nice on a nice beach. No breakfast provided, but the have a pancake house in the building whic is open for breakfast 6to 12. Located next r to a group of hotels. The beach is very light sand and lots of shells.

The room was clean and had a great view of the beach. Great beach access easy walking distance. Breakfast was great and the price was a good value. We arrived late evening and were able to get the last room at a good rate.

Everyone there is extremely friendly and welcoming i always love to go there and the location for all the shops is very convenient, and its an amazing view. I will be traveling there for years to come. I look forward to seeing everyone again.

Took the grandkids for a mini staycation. My oldest grandchild has a birthday coming up and she wanted to stay at the beach to celebrate. Heather checked us in and we stayed in a room facing the beach. The view was fantastic as always and the room was gorgeous. This is our favorite place to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful and its a clean and relaxed atmosphere.

I can never say enough good things about this place. It will always be our home away from home. The staff is amazing. The beds are super comfy .. and the location is spot on. Can't get any better than that. The new pool is very nice and relaxing after a day on the beach. Many restaurants are in walking distance.. and the hangout is one block away. The pancake house is right in the hotel and breakfast is always super delicious. I highly recommend this place

We had a weekend with family and so enjoyed everything. Cleanliness was on point. Guest service was impressive. The beach view was phenomenal. I was surprised to find the room had a stove, cabinet, sink and dishes/cookware in addition to the microwave and fridge.

Great location,the view was perfect. We came for a short getaway and this was perfect for us. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was quite and relaxing. We didn't try the breakfast or the pool its on doors not sure if its heated are not though.

room phone did not work, neither did the TV. Had to transfer rooms. Staff very poorly trained. NO Breakfast even though it was stated on Website to have one. Room Coffee was undrinkable. PLEASE stay somewhere else--- My wife and I have stayed in hotels all over this country and the world, and this is one of the worst experiences we've ever had.

We like this Best Western because it's not overly big so then it can't be overcrowded! Good parking and easy beach access. Close to town and has its own restaurant but breakfast isn't included. Very nice staff. Hotel needs a few updates but overall very comfortable!

Check out was 11am but staff entered our room before 10am unannounced. We just wanted to look at ocean till last hour. Kind of bummed out the ending to our visit. The value was real good location great. Right on the beach.

189.00 a night. Is 100 more then its worth. I had prepaid through BW. And due to a family emergency needed to leave one day early gave 4 days notice and was told by this owner i could in fact leave but they would not refund the last night. Guess cancelling by 4pm is a farce. I wont be back.

The room was awful. A stand up lamp was broken with the top half leaning over. The shower rod on one end was in a hole stuffed with a rag and black electrical tape. The tv was a mess.. no channels. The doors in the room were coming apart. NO trash can! The mini fridge would not get cold. Terrible. Will not stay again.

I made a reservation for a garage near my doctor's office and paid in advance. When I got there they said the lot was full. I said I had a prepaid reservation and they repeated, the lot is full. I had to park farther away at double the price. I will not use this site again.

We loved the fact our room had a great view of the ocean. We slept with the balcony door open to hear the ocean 24/7. We stayed over Thanksgiving, no bugs and cooler temps. As far as the rooms go, I can say we were very unimpressed. Like most every other review, we agreed the hotel is in need of updating big-time. The carpet was stained and looked dirty, with that being said everything worked and our bed was very comfortable. In a nutshell we paid over $1000 for four nights ocean-side. Would we go back? There is a lot to choose from so if we couldn't find a better deal with cleaner conditions, we would return. The location is great!

The staff was so helpful and attentive. Check-in was a gulf breeze. Seriously, you can't beat this view of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Absolutely the best value on the island. Slept like a baby in the comfy bed. Also, steps away from Sea-n-Suds restaurant which is one of our favorites!

We arrived late but had contacted the hotel ahead of time, and were told that was fine. When we arrived there was no one at the desk, only a sign saying be back in 5 minutes. After 20-30 minutes an employee finally runs in and closck in, apparently he was late and the person before him just left the desk unattended. Then we finally get to the room and there was two half full drinks still left in the fridge. Also the shower head was just nasty and stopped up, there was almost no water pressure what so ever. This was my last visit to this location, I will pay more somewhere else before I go there again.

This was a rundown hotel. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The shower & sink water pressure was horrible. There is no place to keep your clothes. We could've stayed at a condo for less $$. There is no grassy areas for our fur baby to go potty. I had to take him for walks for him to do his business.

Excellent location. Hooters, Waffle House among eateries across street within a short walking distance. Sea-N-Suds restaurant a short walk right down the beach. Bed comfortable, room clean, staff very friendly, efficient and competent. Only disappointments were the in-house pancake restaurant is closed on Monday/Tuesday and the door that accesses the swimming pool area is out of service. I enjoy breakfast while watching sunrise from pool area overlooking the beach, so restaurant closed was a let down. Only way to beach/swimming pool area is through parking area around east end of building, but wasn't too inconvenient because we stored our beach items in vehicle instead of room so we had to go to parking area between beach visits anyway.

Hotel had a great location. It was within walking distance to everything. Beach was clean. We utilized the beach chair service which was $35 for 2 chairs and 1 umbrella for the day. Was a whole lot easier than packing stuff. Pools were clean and fun. It took forever to check out and the toilet/sink did not function properly, however, this did not effect our stay. Rooms were somewhat small for 5 days but we were not there to stay in the room. Beachfront view was SO worth it.

One night stay in October on the way home from Florida. Booked at last minute and noticed the reviews were very mixed. Typically I wouldn't gamble after reading several mixed reviews, but the location was close to our friends condo and it is beachfront. We arrived early and asked if we could use the pool, beach, and bathrooms until it was time to check in. The front desk said yes and even let us know our room would be ready early. We were very happy. It is an older hotel. To access our rooms we did not have to go in thru the main lobby but had an elevator in a different part of the hotel. The elevator was smoky and older. The hallway felt old and outdated. But our room was spacious and clean. There was a kitchenette. Full sized fridge, sink area, and an electric stove top and two queen beds. The bathroom was small but adequate. I was impressed. The hotel had an indoor and outdoor pool. Both were clean. Lounge chaises was available but no umbrellas around pool area. For a two star hotel I have no issues with staying here again. They seem to still take pride with their hotel despite it being older. As long as it is clean, we do not mind it being older. The room rate with taxes was around $240 for the night in October.

This is a very old hotel. You can see where they've tried to do updates but didn't seem very successful. A shelf has been added in the bathroom over the sink and toilet, but every time you brushed your teeth, your head smacked into the shelf. Even hand washing was difficult. The price was outrageous for the room size but that's because it's right in the beach. Also, there's no boardwalk leading to the beach. Just straight up over a dune. The first 10 steps wore us out! A boardwalk would have made it much easier to access the beach. The kitchenette needed towels and a dish drainer. It also has one tiny sink making it difficult to be of much use. The cleaning staff needs to check the setting of the refrigerator because ours turned out to be on the coldest setting and froze most of our items, including my mother's insulin. Not good. As I said, the price was way to high for one night and a Sunday at that. $300+ was ridiculous.

Do not stay here ever. It was the worst stay ever. I would never recommend this chain anywhere and will never go back. Do not trust them they will lie and over charge you. Terrible service I have ever had

Best place to stay, to get away for some relaxation, good food, beach ⛱ was beautiful, love the ocean, I'll be back again, this time I'll bring the family, I know my grand babies love that beach see yall next year

The location was great, quick access to reasurants, shopping and attractions. We did not try the in house reasturant. The location and access to the beach was excellent. The swimming pools were well maintained.

I spent 4 nights tent camping and a storm was on the way so decided to drive 35 minutes here since this hotel instead of driving back to Texas because they advertised on the website- 2 hot tubs(nice after camping) and indoor pool(suppose to storm) and a restaurant onsite(no more driving in rain) on the website that this would be GREAT after camping .. I arrived on Tuesday to a note on the door stating the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday... later I went to the desk to ask about the 2 hot tubs and pools .. was told there is indoor and outdoor and was given directions on how to get to them(there are no signs) ... went to outdoor and ALL THE PEOPLE out there could not figure out how to turn on the pool that has the jets(hot tub) I went way BACK to the front desk and the lady called someone who said there is no outdoor hot tub(there is a pool with jets) ??? and that I would need to go to the indoor hot tub and turn the knob ... I went to the indoor area and tried to turn the knobs to turn on the jets ... and a guy in a closet hollered there is no electricity .. wore our from walking I went back to my room ... The room is VERY nice and clean .. the staff is VERY nice and even upgraded my room because I am a platinum rewards member -- I REALLY appreciated that! If I stay here again I will call and ask about hot tubs and restaurant I guess. And by the way.. when you arrive the sign that says ISLAND PANCAKE HOUSE -> is also the entrance to the REGISTRANTION CHECK IN desk...I watched others drive around and around just like I did looking for check in lol They did just go thru a hurricane so maybe that has something to do with the situation here but I really don't see signs of damage here.

The front desk went above and beyond to make sure everything went great. They helped me with places to eat and things to do. My family enjoyed the beautiful beach and amazing outdoor pool. Heather at the desk made sure to give us helpful advice to get around the area. We can't wait to come back to Best Western!

This hotel is in a great location on the beach. Close walk to Hooters, sea and suds, hangout, pink pony, waffle house. Also a short walk to the gulf is nice. You can rent 2 loungers with umbrella for $35 a day. The hotel needs some updating and repairs. The popcorn ceiling was hanging down in our room. The bathroom is very small with a tiny toilet. It does have plenty of parking. The bed was ok. Went to use the onsite computer but it was not working. We will return to gulf shores but probley will look elsewhere for lodging.

This place is a dump. Pictures are deceiving. It's a motel not a hotel. Hole in wall exposing wires and food by the bed and behind nightstand. Needs to be bulldozed down. The place has an odor it was very disappointing.

We stayed here over labor day and the room was dingy and very musty smelling. We had ants in the kitchen which the sprayed for but there were so many they migrated to the bathroom. This use to be such a nice beachside hotel too! Will not stay again!

We stayed in beachside room. The view was wonderful. Grandkids enjoyed the beach as well as the indoor pool. Our room was very clean and had enough towels for all of us. Check in was easy and Heather made us feel at home

This is the only place we will stay in Gulf Shores. The staff is very friendly, actually they go above and beyond every time we visit, which is at least 3 times a year. After a long day of travel, I always look forward to sleeping in their comfy beds. Rooms are always clean and very well maintained. The views are AMAZING, you are right on the beach. Perfect view of the beach and pool from our balcony every time. (we stay in the tower part) I can never thank Heather and Ashley enough for their great southern hospitality. They treat us like family and always go above and beyond for us. The pancake house has yummy breakfast and is located right by the lobby which is very convenient. The hotels location is perfect, and we can walk to where ever we want to go. The beach is BEAUTIFUL and one of the cleanest beaches I have ever been to. I have never had one bad experience or complaint about this hotel. I am a forever loyal customer here and would never stay any where else but the Best Western. Thank you Best Western for always making my trips to the beach a wonderful experience.

My son and I were hurricane Ida evacuees from New Orleans and booked this room via Southwest Airlines/Booking.com. When booking online, I selected a room with kitchenette, and saw the price match guarantee. On the final booking page, the selected room did not state kitchenette, but I requested it in the comments. I also emailed (to the link provided) about the price match and sent a link to the lower price. No response. Upon arrival at the hotel, the front desk staff was not very friendly or helpful. I was told that I could not get a room with a kitchenette even though that is what I selected when I booked, and I was told that I could not price match because of the type of room I selected, and by the time I checked in no other rooms were available, so they could not honor that. The room price was RIDICULOUSLY high compared to the quality in my opinion, and I know it was Labor Day weekend, but I cannot help when the hurricane came. We selected this hotel because we have been to this area before and felt more comfortable booking in a familiar place. The location is great, and the beds were comfortable. The mini fridge was too cold and froze all of our food and drinks. I was awoken to the sound of people using the ice machine every single morning. The hotel is not supposed to allow pets and we encountered 3 large dogs on our floor and heard barking multiple times in the complex. When I would go on the balcony I would smell cigarette smoke coming from the next balcony. The lobby and elevator stunk at all times- like a sweaty odor. I am not one to complain, but our family is already under a lot of stress and these things made a bad situation worse. It seems like the reviews are usually good at this hotel but very recent reviews I have seen seem to have similar complaints. I also heard others in the lobby having to deal with hotel/booking errors as well. I emailed the hotel about all of these concerns, and for the second time, no response.

Worst travel experience of my life and let me add, I stay in at least 6 hotels a year. Property will make up any excuse to charge for additional nights and/or lie about incidentals. On top of that, the room odor was so unbearable that I had to sleep with the balcony door open. Don't expect to arrive at what's portrayed online either. Horrible people and place, unfortunately I had to stay there due to a hurricane evacuation or I would have left.

We enjoyed the stay. It is right on the beach, very convenient. I wouldn't say it is a fancy hotel but it's nice. Inside pool and inside hot tubs, also nice outside pool near the beach. Would stay again!

Had to get dressed in the car to avoid being charged an additional day because we were told if we were not in the lobby at the front desk at checkout time, we would be charged an extra day, beyond tacky!

Myself, my daughter and her 2-year old daughter stayed here for 5 nights in a beach front room. The rooms were clean. Everything worked. Too bad there is not a free continental breakfast as the restaurant breakfast is pretty pricey. Convenient beach access but no walkway which makes it quite a chore to pull a wagon or stroller through the sand to get to the beach. There is no hose or water access to wash off after being on the beach. The pool area is nice. For a Best Western, a felt the room rates were very pricey. 5 nights = $2,000.00

This hotel was beautiful there was A beach view and a nice pool the staff was welcoming and clean the restaurant downstairs was beautiful had great food definitely recommend the pancakes steak and eggs my family love this environment we will be coming back next year and the year after

Loved the atmosphere! The hotel was very clean and the pool was amazing. There was a beach front view from the room and down stairs at the restaurant! I got the steak and eggs! And everything was cooked perfectly. The staff was so nice. Also the pancakes are to die for! I will be going back. My whole family loved it!

our room was very clean and the view was exceptional. They kept our room clean and kept clean towels available to us during our stay. the cleaning staff was excellent and the front staff was very accomadating and friendly.

Once they get u booked in tell u that the room is 269 then u pay and the next thing u know they hit ur card for a convenient fee and we checked out at 12:15 pm and they changed my card another 50 dollars and told me that's a late check out fee that I was not told about so be where if they have ur card that room will not be what they say cause they don't care about there guest we left and went to the holiday inn down the road and was treated as we were the owners it was so much nicer there also

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast was amazing and it was overall an amazing place to stay! I definately recommend to anyone who is looking for a nice place on the cheaper side to stay on the beach in Gulf Shores!

8 years ago I stayed at this exact Best Western on the Beach in Gulf Shores, AL. I fully intended to come back much sooner, but life has a way of redirecting things. When I was searching for somewhere to stay on this trip, I knew immediately THIS is where I had to stay again. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the beach view was perfect. Access to the beach is my favorite reason for staying here and I fully intend to come again and much sooner next time.

This place is Directly on the beach and Was very convenient so we didn't have to load up all our beach supplies in our car. They just completely redone the pool area and it looks like a 5 star resort . You can also walk to all the different shops and restaurants from the hotel if you don't feel like driving an dealing with traffic. If you ever decided to go to Gulf shores you have to try this hotel. There is also a breakfast restaurant inside the hotel with a awesome view of the beach while you eat.

I'll make a list. Lights not working in bedroom, closet door broken, tv not working, not enough towels, wash clothes, soap shampoo, conditioner or toilet paper. I had to ask multiple times daily for these items. Also ask to have sheets changed twice and wait staff only made bed with same dirty sheets. ( I know because I was at the kitchen table watching them )We had a party of 4 and they gave us 3 sets of towels and wash clothes everyday. I had to go get extra EVERYDAY!!

This was the first time my 10 year-old grandson and 7 year-old granddaughter has seen a beach or been out of Texas. They had the best time! Being able to walk out on the beach right of the hotel was so nice. We ate at the hotel twice and it was amazing too! I recommend this hotel hands down!

Over all a great hotel. The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean. The restaurant was terrible. Bad service and bad food. Very under staffed. I recommend going somewhere else for breakfast. Super nice outdoor pool!

The hotel is located within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Right down the street from the Pink Pony and the Hangout. The hotel appears outdated and lacks curb appeal compared to other hotels in the area.

This hotel was within walking distance to several resturaunts and shops. It was located directly on the beach. The hotel having two pools was great as it was never overcrowded. There is a pool outside and there is a pool inside. There is one hot tub outside and there are two hot tubs inside. The balcony view was very nice and nice view. Bed was comfy too.

We stayed at the Best Western Resort in Ft Myers and it was outstanding. This hotel was disappointing. Rooms are big, but bathrooms are very small. Not even a hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang a robe. We found some type of dried something that was either. Look or. No Olathe on one of the bed covers. No beach towels available for guests even though we were told differently in a phone call. We had to purchase towels. No breakfast available except for the restaurant where you get a 10% discount if you show your room key. We didn't eat there. Room comes complete with full kitchen but no dish soap, towels or hot pads. We will not return.

Best Western on the Beach was easy to get to and parking was right at the front door. It was just a step out the parking area to the beach. The view from the room was beautiful. Our room was very clean and fresh. I will definitely stay there again. Location was just 2 minutes from several hot spots.

Great beach access. Yummy pancakes. Friendly staff. Easy drive from Northwest Arkansas. Well lit parking lot. No need to use a car, because you can walk up and down the street for food, groceries and liquor.

This place is disgusting. We stayed here Thursday through Monday at the end of June. We paid $700 a night for this one star hotel. There is NO cleaning of this place. The lobby had the worst order the entire stay. Should have been our first red flag. There was a sock that stay at the garage can by the elevator the entire stay. While the garbage can was emptied, the sick remained. There's only one elevator and it was hot, dirty and the floor number display at the top never worked so when you pushed button for elevator you never would know what floor it was on. Our room, we stayed on the top level. The room and bathroom is small. The beds were comfortable. The toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall. The shower /tub was dirty and absolutely no water pressure. The balcony had 2 plastic chairs and one table. Railing was missing a screw, see photo. There is NO place by the pool to rinse off when you come from beach so EVERYONE including myself used the 8 inch kiddie pool to do so. See photo. We NEVER saw anyone cleaning the pools or around the pool. Lady at desk said it was cleaned at 5am every morning but clearly from the photos you see it was never cleaned. The deck had sand all over it. Saw kids playing with the pool safety devices and no employee stopped them until I brought it to the front desks attention. Deck around pool was never sprayed off. NO toilets any where around pool, you have to cross the parking lot to go to bathrooms, so this place is not an ideal place if you have kids. Microwave, small fridge in room. Cabinet door that housed the fridge was broken and wouldn't close. The parking area was filthy. Food and wrappers and cans all around and I saw the same items on ground for days at a time. Staff was friendly. Did have maid service Friday only. Free coffee downstairs at restaurant if you show your card. Walk to the beach is a short distance. Food and shops are close by. When we checked out I did complain about the condition of the property and that the price being charge isn't acceptable and the woman took my number and said she would have someone call me but it's been one week and haven't heard from anyone there. To sum it up, this place is not clean, not maintained and saw two safety violations present. I would highly recommend you stay clear of this place, especially if you have children.

Short Getaway! There is a card to get into the rooms, but not to get into the building. I am a mother and I had had a stranger approach me, my 14 year old daughter, and 6 year old son! It was a scary experience! The hotel lacks safety precautions…

First room had broken toilet. Second room had leaking refrigerator and odor. Maintenance did not come until the next day even though I was told they were coming the same day. Only perk is that the property is on the beach.

Although the hotel is beachfront... it is extremely over priced and run down. Bathrooms were very small. Elevators were hot and small. There was no water access outside the hotel to rinse off sand. We were very disappointed, especially the amount we paid per night (almost $800).

Where do I start? Beach view is great and the hotel is conveniently located right on the beach. That is nice for dealing with all the stuff you haul out to the beach during the day. The staff was friendly. The restaurant in the building made delicious food at a reasonable price. The waitresses and crew were extremely friendly and went above and beyond. Now the room... not impressed at all. I'm not sure if we got the only crappy room in the entire west section of the hotel because I don't see how this place has good reviews. The door wouldn't latch properly unless slammed closed. The bathroom sink pipes leaked nonstop. The shower pressure was very weak and made it basically impossible to get sand and seaweed out of your hair. The toilet paper holder was located directly next to the shower, so it got soaked. There is a vent in the the bathroom, but it's useless. The air conditioner rattled and sputtered all day and night and couldn't keep the room cool at all. The mini fridge was in a cabinet that had the door falling off and the mini fridge was too big for that opening and kept hitting the edge, hence the door barely hanging on. The freezer didn't keep our ice packs frozen and I just threw out the cold snacks because I didn't feel like they were safe due to the temperature of the fridge. There were many issues with paint and general wear and tear of the room. Noise level wasn't too bad, we could still hear the neighbors next door or anytime someone loud walked by our room. Last but not least, the HORRIBLE bed. It sagged so bad in the middle, I couldn't sit up. There was no moving to the edge or finding a new spot. For the price of the room, I would have expected a much better experience. In my opinion, BW needs to up their game if they're going to compete with the rest of the hotels around them. It's obvious this place is older and has been around for a while. We were traveling for work and visited gulf shores as a quick 2 day get away. Weather wasn't too bad, we managed to avoid the rain and Claudette.

My family and I made a spur of the moment trip to Gulf Shores this weekend and came across Best Western on the Beach. It was pretty late when we arrived, however Mr. Barry at the front desk was amazing. He was very accommodating and patient with our needs. The room was very clean and had an amazing beach view. We will be for sure using Best Western on our next stay.

The only reason this hotel even got 2 stars was because of the amazing location. It is right on the beach and you can walk right to the shore. It was extremely expensive for the quality of the room and service received. Despite saying they were doing extra cleaning because of Covid, it was obvious from the sand and hair throughout the room it had not had a good cleaning in a while. The bathroom was similar. Hair left in the tub. The AC was poor. The room stayed a constant humid 85 degrees. Not surprising since there was no weather stripping around either door and you could see sunlight and feel the moisture coming in around the door. The vent in the bathroom was useless except to screech when on. The front desk clerk was annoyed when we checked in since we had interrupted her time on her phone. The only employees who were pleasant were the gentleman who checked us out and the older waitress in the pancake house. The food was good but other than the one mentioned waitress service was slow and uninterested. Better places to stay next time.

Clean, friendly staff, super convenient, You cannot pick an easier location to enjoy the beach. It is within walking distance of the hangout. It is so easy to ride the elevator down and walk right onto the beach. The rooms are comfortable and the area is safe. We enjoyed staying here and will do so again.

We checked in at 10am to use the beach and were told to pick our key up at noon. When we went back at noon there was no one at the front desk. After waiting for 25 minutes we had to go look for someone and was told that there was no one available to check us in. Finally a guy from the restaurant was nice enough to try and help us and was able to locate our key. There was also a creepy staff member that stayed in a dark closet by the elevator that kept asking weird questions about my daughter. I didn't feel safe letting her leave the room alone.

The staff here is extremely nice. Joe and Allen where amazing. We had 2 connecting rooms both with a kitchenette. Each room had a balcony. This was a great place to stay. Most of the things we wanted to do were within walking distance and it's right off the beach. We are already planning on going back in October. And unlike some hotels the beds were very comfortable.

Excellent location. We had a room with 2 queen beds, a microwave and a refrigerator. The view of the ocean was incredible. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked having indoor and outdoor pools. We have no complaints and hope to return soon. It is expensive; it's the beach!

For the price and availability it's a decent little spot. Centrally located and the staff is very pleasant to deal with. There may be a few things the take some adjustments (the door latches for us, you had to slam them to get them to close properly) but don't sweat the little stuff.

Hotel was nice and clean and the location was excellent! The beds were very command we all slept very well! They needed more help in the restaurant but the food was really good! Would definitely stay here again!

This is our favorite places to stay for our mother-daughter trip. Love how it is on on the beach and the different pool options. Close to restaurants and a surf shop that has a lot of things to pick up, so not much of a need to drive around.

The hotel is very old. They have not maintained it well. The rooms are very old. Because we wanted kitchen we stayed here. The best part was the beach view from the balcony which we liked. It's high time the management renovate the rooms.

Very thin walls, could hear everything in our neighbors rooms. We were also give a beach front king room, but were on the second floor and couldn't hear the ocean for some kind of fan/vent in front of out balcony. Housekeeping is great! Most of the front desk staff was as well. Wouldn't stay again though. Costs too much for what we got - basic king room with refrigerator and NO microwave and we couldn't hear the ocean from the balcony

Everyone was very nice and courteous. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed 4 nights and requested our room to be cleaned mid way through and it was done up very nicely. The ocean side view from deck was outstanding. The pool was just hauled over and we were able to swim in the pool if we so desired. The pandemic and hurricane we heard, took a toll on all the motels along the coast but seems to be ready for fun in the sun now!

Our room was fairly clean, and we had a beautiful view. However, halfway through our stay, we requested fresh bedding. My husband had already stripped the bed for them, so all they needed to do was replace it with clean bedding. When we returned to our room that evening, both beds were made, appearing as though they had been changed. However, after we unmade the beds, we realized they were still the same dirty sheets that were on there previously. It makes me wonder if they even change the bedding between guests. Overall, the hotel is okay. The location is great, and as I said, the view was beautiful.

Location is great, hotel had considerable amounts of trash lying around on the ground, other guests constantly smoking on balconies making it uncomfortable for non smoking guests including children, no place to wash sand off of feet when returning from beach so sand ends up in your room, location is great but 2 star hotel at a 5 star price

Even though the hotel had only a few guests, we were in the room directly above the construction workers who started their machines at 7:45am. The outdoor pool was closed and the indoor pool was a mess

Being right on the beach was amazing. I would recommend this hotel just for the view of the beach. The room was a little under my expectations. The picture of the room on the internet looked a lot bigger than the room I got. Also I was supposed to have two queen beds and I had two full beds in my room.

Outdoor pooll is closed for repairs (told from last hurricane so not a recent issue), this was not reported on the website and a major reason we booked this hotel. Several room issues: refrigerator not working, no lamp shade, lamp and clock on night stand not plugged in and no available outlets nearby to resolve issue. Front desks resolution was to give us an extension cord to plug in across the room behind the tv therefore the cord would be in the middle of the room across the floor, not only unsightly but a tripping hazard. Front desk staff condescending and dismissive and said she wished she could stay in our room with us when issues were described. We notified staff of the issues immediately upon arrival and never even stayed in the room yet were charged for the night. We were never given any other solution such as changing rooms or a discounted price. The manager was not on site and equally unhelpful and dismissive when called. We were told we would have to talk to her the next day when she was available to discuss billing and to cancel the rest of our reservation. Calling customer service and corporate offices did not resolve anything either saying billing is up to the individual establishment. We are currently waiting to hear from upper management at the hotel to see how the issues can be rectified. Not hopeful. Please don't stay here, there are plenty of other hotels in the area, similarly priced, who actually care about their guest experience.

Had to park across street. No idea the outside pool was closed. No microwave in room. Smoke detector hanging by wires. Cheap toilet paper. Coffee creamer old. Phone wouldn't call to front desk. At $509/night!!

Our room was an excellent value for being right on the beach. The room was clean and the restaurant on premises has an ocean view. Since it was the first week the hotel was open since Hurricane Sandy it would have been nice to know that the outside pool wasn't available.

Just returned from a three night stay at this Best Western. The location is great but the rooms need a major face lift, our room was never made up and the pool was closed! We were not notified of the pool closure ahead of time. I asked the front desk about having the room made up and were told yes but house keeping never came by except to drop off towels once. I would not stay here again.

Paid the big $ for the ocean front room with a balcony... Never got to enjoy it because they had a construction crew working VERY loudly from 7AM-8PM! Tile saw dust came into the awful smelling room!!

Where do I start..... this hotel is extremely old. Does NOT have functioning pool ( still advertised on the websites as the hotel with a pool). Extremely slow breakfast service (took 30 min for a hostess to take our order). Good things... directly on the beach. Comfortable beds. The rest is not existing..... I would say for the services provided it is extremely overpriced.

I realize they are still cleaning up after the hurricane and have only been open a few days but overpriced for what you get. The view is great and easy access to the beach is awesome. The front desk seemed to want to be just helpful enough. No masks anywhere. I would try and find somewhere cheaper that offered a little more next time

we always stay at this hotel. Their hospitality and friendliness keeps us coming back. The staff is super friendly, Heather and Ashley at the front desk go above and beyond every time. Beds are super super comfy .. Beach is right there, walking distance to everywhere. It was my brothers first time there and they went over the top to show him the best vacation. Highly recommend this hotel

We love this hotel. Heather makes checking in and out so easy. The kids love the pools and playing on the beach. Room was clean and we had plenty of towels. I love the view off the balcony. We like the family atmosphere this hotel offers. Our go to place for local getaway.

During my stay it was advised by the news that people not get in the water do to the hurricane, but the beach was still beautiful. The hotel is clean the staff is kind and helpful especially Heather at the front desk and Geraldine in housekeeping. I will definitely be back with the family.

Just came down for weekend trip for my daughters birthday. We were on the beach side of the hotel and I loved waking up to the sunrise and watching the sunset. The rooms were very nice and clean. I will be recommending this hotel to my friends.

This was a weekend trip for our family of 3 and was very disappointed. At $1000, you would think that you would receive too notch service and the grounds would be taken care if better. There was trash everywhere, the hotel room we stayed in was out dated. The room was clean but beds were not comfortable and one was leaning. There was only one garbage can, Bathroom has caulk all over floor still from where toilet was moved. When you come from beach and wash off feet from sand, there should be a drain there. Water piles up and no where to go, so you have to walk through it to get to pool. Very unsanitary. Plastic bags,and bottles everywhere. No one cares to pick up. Staff was not helpful when asked questions about my Bill. And when I went to check out, they were unfriendly and not knowledgeable. They didn't care about how many people piled up in lobby. The pancake house had good breakfast. I had a room on the east side, i didn't like the area. I stayed there years ago on the west side and loved it, Usually, the staff would come give you fresh towels and empty your garbage, but not here.. my wife actually had to find someone to get some fresh towels. This place is definitely not worth the money. I will stay somewhere else that has better service and better accommodations and with people (staff) willing to help you have a great vacation and takes care of their property better I will never stay here again!!!. I hope this helps you decide not to stay here

Good Staff , Good Service, Clean Rooms, really enjoyed the beach front property and the island pancake house located inside the hotel was delicious i definitely plan on returning Gulf shores is such a beautiful place...

We booked two rooms for three nights which costed $3000. The pics online or deceiving. Once we got to the room, we asked if we could check out the next morning and they refused us. The rooms are dated. The bathroom is reallly small. The beds are uncomfortable. This was a nightmare mini vacation due to the quality of the room.

When you pay $1000.00 for a two night stay, you expect a top quality hotel. Decor was old and dingy. The bathroom had sand that wasn't vacuumed up. Not enough towels for three people. Outside furniture was not clean. Was told when I made the reservation that there would be a crib for my 2 year old. When we got there they said we don't have those. One positive note was that the bed was very comfortable.

We are here now and there is an uncontrolled party in the child's pool, with glass bottles everywhere and a couple apparently having sex in the pool with children nearby. This isn't spring break either. After 2 calls, it was finally broken up and they went out the gate to the beach and maybe were not even staying here. Management failure! Not recommended, and will not come back. At 400+ a night, I think we deserve better.

I travel for work and have never written a bad review of a place I've stayed, mainly because sometimes people have off days but...this place was systemically having bad days. I reserved, over the phone, a king bed room. Upon arriving the unfriendly check-in gal said to come back at 2pm, so we did and she said, yep it's not ready, try again at 4pm. Came back at 4:30 and a very unpleasant young man said I think it's ready and began the checkin process. When I asked what was “express checkout”, he said he'd get to that in a minute and went along his routine...never coming back to that topic. The one elevator took forever, the room smelled, didn't even caulk the trim miters, knobs broken off the wardrobe, A/C was from the 60's and wouldn't go below 73. The toilet wouldn't flush and fixed it myself as who knows how long this dump would have taken to fix it. Was hopeful at checkout to have a pleasant person, still nope just the same “put out” and unpleasant consistency of staff. I will never stay at another Best Western, even if it was free. Absolutely, the most awful experience with the hotel service industry.

i really enjoyed the access to the beach. really liked my room being able to go out on the balcony and look out into the ocean. the staff there was very friendly and helpful. had to wait a while for my room to be ready but they gave us access to beach and swimming pool while we waited. that was nice.

This place is a dump, newly remodeled not! Pictures are very deceiving nothing what it looks like at all not worth the money. Dirty The Health Department needs to step in and close this place down..Breakfast area has 9 violation that I saw...Safe guard yourself and family stay away..

This a 2 star hotel and that is exactly what you get. The hotel is dated and needs some TLC but the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The location is great. Only steps from the beach and only three stories so no waiting on elevators. The staff was kind. Housekeeping found our tablet that we did not realize we left behind. It was turned in and the front desk called to let us know we left it behind.

This was our family's first getaway since the pandemic and let me say I'm not pleased. First off we paid over the $400/night for a room that is classified as a hotel but should be labeled motel! Location is great however from the moment we drove onto the property we noticed that hotel is in need of some serious remodeling especially for overpriced rooms. When you walk into building, you can see that hotel is very low-budget and I'm not a fancy person but it's definitely not worth the price. Secondly, since covid is running rampant, I thought I would see workers sanitizing high traffic areas and sanitizing stations setup, but nope none of that going on either. The elevator floors were dirty and so was buttons to select floors. Then we make it to room, which looks like a college spring break special; crammed 2 beds with lopsided lamp shades. The bathroom had rust in some areas, water pressure was low and then I saw some small flesh colored insect crawl around the sink. I wanted to scream but I didn't want to terrify my son. This is my first night and after showering in getting in the bed, all night I felt like something was in the sheets, bitting around my right ankle; I'm so uncomfortable at this point. This was my first getaway from being in the house for 2 months and I highly regret it! In the past we've always booked with other popular chains such as Hilton and Marriott but we took a chance on Best Western thinking we would at minimum have a decent hotel. If your just looking for easy access to beach and place to lay your head, you'll get that here, but anything beyond that, keeping searching. BW please do a better job of cleaning and sanitizing during this time (covid). I have not seen one person cleaning or sanitizing since my arrival.

This hotel was wonderful. The location couldn't have been better. The rooms were spotless. The staff were friendly and very helpful. If you met one of them on the property they would speak and ask if everything was ok. I would definitely visit again.

Our 9 month old's feet were completely black from crawling in our room, our toilet only flushed after no less than 3 flushes, the outdoor pool area had DOG POOP on the patio with beer cans and snack wrappers in the "grotto" area, and the internet didn't work. The pictures of the outdoor pool are a vast misrepresentation of what is there in reality, it's basically a baby pool compared to the pictures on your website. The front desk woman was unhelpful and rude and our room wasn't ready for check-in until nearly an hour after check-in time. Completely disappointed in our stay for the amount of money we paid.

Small refrigerator and no microwave as advertised. Pancake restaurant's tables/chairs weren't clean every time. The pool area aren't clean. The A/C took long time to meet the temperature. Clean staff is nice

Only recieved 2 towels I got a balcony bc we are smoking only to find out when we got there we couldn't smoke there . Also go it for inside pool to find out that was closed. Also we paid more money for this place than the other place and was given extremely rude customers service

Had an excellent stay at best western. Heather checked me in was really friendly. The rooms are clean. The beach view is amazing even with the the rain I enjoyed my visit. This is a hidden gem for sure

Very clean and will for sure book rooms here again. Everyone was very helpful and the rooms were extremely clean. The walk to the beach was very close and we enjoyed the easy parking as well. I recommend this to anyone to stay

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and the manager generously offered us a breakfast and two chairs with an umbrella as a wedding gift! The staff here really care about making our special occasions even more special!

Paid a good amount for the room we were staying in to not have ac and the door cards didn't work, had to send husband to return keys finally to get a bad room ended up having to pay even more money for another room that was still bad

The beach was littered with trash. The pool area had trash and broken pool toys left everywhere as well as ponytail holders and cigarette butts. Trash cans overflowing. Very nasty and messy. People smoking near children. It was not a very good experience.

We had a great time it was just a short trip but an awesome one we will stay here again the price was a little night but we were on the beach so I guess it was worth it I liked it haveing a stove and a fridge that was nice

Hotel was very clean, good service from the staff and the owner was very nice. location is walking distance or near liquor store, several food places and shops. had plenty of parking spaces and the lot was in good shape.

We have stayed at many hotels at Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. The walk to the beach is the easiest of any we have stayed at. The room and balcony view were amazing. The A/C was incredibly cold and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast has a beach front view. The customer service was superb. We were amazed at the late night service from Jacob when we have a craving for iced coffee. He went out of his way to serve us personally at 10pm. Most hotels during the busy weekends can barely keep us with their customers. This staff team understands how to serve. Thank you BWOTB! We will definitely be back.

I don't normally spend the extra money for a room located on the beach with a balcony ocean view but it was SOOOOO worth it! Because of COVID19, we were anxious about going but we literally would not have had to leave our room the whole time to have the wonderful beach experience. What made us feel even better was seeing the owner walking around with disnfectant spray and towel in hand, sanitizing the common areas often. His restaurant staff wore masks and gloves, as well. His grandson, Ryland, was such a wonderful help - getting us checked into our room early, helping us unload our things into our room and even bringing us fresh extra towels (without us even asking)! It was a great getaway for our family and I will definitely recommend Best Western on the Beach to my friends and family and will stay there again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!!!

Clean, convenient, comfortable, and a decent price. beach access was wonderful. clean rooms as always. Super friendly staff. Heather at the front desk is the best!! Don't hesitate to stay here!! You will not be disappointed!

It was absolutely terrible!!!!! Roaches everywhere we didn't even want to sleep in the beds.never would recommend this place to anyone. So upset with this company and will never stay here again. Absolutely dosgusting

You need to exhibit due diligence and post no smoking signs on the balcony. There was an astray to smoke 20 yards from my balcony and multiple people smoking on first floor (where it is allowed) I was on the second. A member of the hotel made me pay him 100 cash without saying who he was. It was text book extortion. Entire vacation was ruined and I checked out early. Paid 290$ for one night in a motel that the drywall was falling off the ceiling. I would never smoke in a hotel room and wouldn't have on the balcony if I was informed of the policy.

The room was clean, however a bit expensive. The restaurant was not open, making meals quite difficult as many restaurants were not open and what few were, had crazy long lines. The room had a kitchenette, but no supplies so we would have had to buy some or bring our own. The elevator was a little sketchy, so we typically took the stairs

The hotel is definitely a 2 star, but the room is clean and generally updated, and to say that the view from the room is amazing is an understatement. We were on the 2nd floor, which is essentially 3 stories up, and we were able to lay in our bed and see the ocean. The patios are private and again, the view is exceptional. The hotel staff was really good and the hotel in general is clean and updated. We were there off season and none of the soda machines had pop. I would definitely stay again for the money...again the view.

This was our first trip to Gulf Shores. I chose this hotel because of the trip advisor rating and positive experiences with Best Western in the past. The location was excellent: on the best part of the beach in my opinion, close to good food, and close to everything we wanted to do. I am very picky about the cleanliness of a room, and although there was room for improvement I was satisfied overall. The staff was all friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for 5 nights. Location is great, it's right on the beach... The hotel staff was wonderful.. We did have an incident with the door to our room. The lock wasn't working properly. The staff were prompt and diligent to get the problem resolved. We had breakfast one morning in the restaurant at the hotel. It was wonderful.. Can't say enough good things about this hotel. It wasn't our first time staying here and it won't be our last. Thanks to the owners and staff there for making our visit great.

Great place! Staff is somewhat friendly. But on the beach. Great room, great view! Good prices! Not alot of noise, as long as teenagers behave themselves. The pool was closed for the season. Would have been nice to use the hot tub, but it was closed also.

the parking is not the best in the world, but the beach view was to die for! right on the water!! the hot tub (beside the pool) was not working, so check with staff BEFORE booking, if that is a feature u are looking for. Great hot water in the showers and everything in room worked great!

Staff was very nice and the Island Pancake House food was amazing. The rooms were clean and comfy, the kitchens had a stove and other appliances also had plates and forks in kitchen, was very convenient. Would definitely recommend !!

This was our second time to stay at Best Western on the Beach, and it was again a wonderful experience!!! We were on the third floor with an ocean view. Each morning from our balcony, we were able to watch the dolphins swimming. The room was large and clean, and the staff were very friendly. We will be back!!!

The nest thing was that the restaurant was on the beach The hotel staff was great. The the hotel was very pretty. My only issue was there was no breakfast, no microwave and not even a continental breakfast. There was a restaurant in the hotel though

great place for off season stay, they are letting this place go for the lack of maintenance, indoor pool door lock broken and very sharp, kind of dangerous ,room service did not clean my room, even when my wife told them to wait 5 minutes ,but they never come back , by the time we get back to the hotel it was already late and we were tired and ready to sleep, great place to stay by the beach but this is my second year coming to this hotel and they are not taking care of repairs as they should,next year I'll be looking for another hotel , there is a few in the same price range.

This hotel is one my family & I will definitely not stay here again. The cons of the hotel. 1. The elevator is on the outside , Didn't look like there was good security. 2. We stayed here for one night in early January. Upgraded to a Gulf view room with no problem as the front desk clerk was very helpful. Relaxing stroll down the beach to the Hang Out for a casual dinner. Then back to the BW for a early snooze and then up at dawn and on our way again. Saw a pod of dolphins swim by from our balcony at dawn. This hotel delivers on two fronts: fabulous location and bare simplicity.

The view from our room was excellent, however the service was just mediocre. The girl checking us in was not rude but did not seem very happy to be there. It was our 25th anniversary and while we weren't expecting any type of upgrade, a complimentary meal or just a congratulations would have been nice. The pancake restaurant had a great breakfast but the decor was a little shabby and could use an update. Overall, nice enough but only for a night or two.

I called the hotel today on their local number (not the national booking number) to see if they could tell me when most Spring Break travellers are expected in the area - March? April? - so I can avoid them if possible. I'm not familiar with the Spring Break patterns in this part of the U.S. The receptionist who answered my call said (in a bored, short tone) she had no idea, and that the hotel hadn't even published their rates for March. Really? Because I see the rates online and it's only 8 weeks away. I then phoned Hampton Inn with the same question. A charmingly helpful receptionist gave me a detailed review of the weeks that receive the most Spring Break visitors, and how their bookings are shaping up so far. I'll be staying at the Hampton based on their customer service.

No signage to indicate where office is for check in. Indoor pool was advertised as heated, but it wasn't heated. Staff said temps had to be in the 50s or below to heat it. Worse, hot water in the shower was barely lukewarm. Bed was comfortable, but pillows are terrible. If you want a nice view, dont book a king room, or you'll be looking at a huge bird poop covered awning right below your balcony.

Came down from Missouri to see Dad over the Christmas break. Our accommodations were very clean. Couldn't figure out the TV channel selections, but other than that, the getaway from the office was just what we needed,even in January!

I will never stay anywhere else. Extremely friendly staff. Always go above and beyond for their guests. The rooms are clean and beds are soooo comfortable. They have a nice pool and located right on the beach. The beach is very clean and never over crowded. Walking distance toi everything. This is the only hotel we will ever stay at in the gulf shores. Highly recommend .. the manager heather will make your stay the tthe best experience possible. The staff is very accommodating and treated you like family. You will not be disappointed.

Clean but old. 2 cups of coffee, 1 cup per person each day is a little disappointing (they do not have coffee in the lobby, only the restaurant). Staff efficient and helpful. Great stay for the cost. The ocean view itself was worth the money.

Gorgeous view ...but thats it! The staff is unfriendly, room is not a "suite" parking is minimal, water pressure not good! Breakfast was overpriced and horrible! This was not a good choice for our 4 days in Alabama! We will visit Gulf Shores again the people are so friendly( not at the hotel)

This property has one of the best views available on the Gulf. The staff is always exceptionally friendly and helpful. This is not a "new" property, but they are making efforts to update the decor. Clean and accessible are the main things I look for, and that is what I find here.

We have stayed at this location for the past 8 yrs and every time we have been completely satisfied and never wanna leave. This has become our whole families home away from home! Very pleased to b able to rely on them year after year!

Spent just a couple days here on our way back home, already decided this will be my new go to for a beach getaway. The view from the room is so breathtaking I wanted to sleep on the balcony. Front desk was very helpful with any question I had. Another HUGE plus for someone like myself and I know that many others will enjoy, the room I stayed in had a large led lit mirror in the bathroom. That is a game changer for me as typically hotels have very poor lighting. It made getting ready In the mornings a very pleasant experience.

I stayed here on a business trip and I have no regrets. Staff was really nice and could fulfill my every needs. The view of my hotel room was amazing. Very clean room/bathrooms. Also, the breakfast was amazing! I definitely will be back!!!

I decided to stop by for breakfast at their in house restaurant and was very impressed. There was ample parking and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The Hotel was very clean and I loved its beachfront location.

We stayed here for 3 nights the weekend before Thanksgiving to check out the area before we return for a week in the summer. It was our first time in Gulf Shores. With it being the off-season, hotel rates were excellent! The location of the Best Western was perfect! Right on the beach and we had a room with a balcony overlooking the beautiful white sand and ocean waves! The room was nice, clean, comfy bed, comfortable and clean chairs and small table on the balcony. We used the indoor pool and hot tub and it was great. It was too cold to enjoy the beautiful outdoor pool area, but it was nice. The hotel is close to everything. No free breakfast at this Best Western since there is a restaurant on site. It would have cost us about $25 a day to eat a simple breakfast so my hubby drove down to McDonald's and brought back breakfast each morning. Not a huge deal and probably kept us from overeating like we normally do at hotels with free breakfast! ;) My ONLY complaint about our stay was the lack of security and access to the stairwells and hallways. There were no locks on the outside doors into these common areas, which in this day and age, I think is unacceptable and irresponsible. Not only were the doors unlocked, but they were left wide open the entire time we were there. We did attempt to close the stairwell door from the outside but it was out of alignment and wouldn't even close good. Had I been traveling alone without my husband, I probably wouldn't have stayed here for this reason. I felt very vulnerable even with my husband there. I politely mentioned to the front desk clerk when I checked out about my concerns. She gave me a spill about how they had key card swipers on the outside doors once but with the salty air, they just didn't work. Of course I know better. They might require more maintenance and/or require replacing more often than other locations, but hotels on beaches all across the world have key card swipers to control who comes into the buildings. I'd have liked to see this hotel place more of a priority on the safety and security of their guests. But other than that, our stay was very nice.

This was the most awesome Best Western we have ever stayed at, once you park in the covered parking garage your ready to party. Walk out the entrance and head to the beach / boardwalk and enjoy the surf and sun. At this point you can walk less than 5 minutes to the best seafood restaurants to satifiy any taste buds.

Good beachfront spot with pool. Not an upscale place but good value for the price. Our room was recently remodeled so bed was newish and room was very clean. This Best Western is right in the heart of Gulf Shores so very close to most everything including restaurants and convenience stores.

This Best Western was fabulous- the view is awesome and the Island Pancake House inside is the best kept secret on the beach- visited in October and it was the most perfect time of year- not crowded but weather is still great!!

Spent a weekend at the Best Western in Gulf Shores for a quick vacation. I was amazed by the amenities and the top quality of their mattresses. Never had a better night of sleep. Most hotels don't put quality beds in the rooms, Best Western is the exception!

Staff very helpful and courteous wherever you met them on the property. Very clean room with my bed being very comfortable. I sleep very well during my stay. My room had a great view of the Gulf of Mexico and the hotel was located in an area that had easy access to restaurants I was very pleased with my stay..

The hotel staff are very accommodating and were very professional with excellent personal relations. I could also say the same for the restaurant workers as well. The facility is very clean and your needs are addressed in a timely manner. Love the beach being so very close in proximity.

This is a beautiful property directly on the beach. Rooms are well appointed. Restaurant is convenient and delicious. Staff is professional and courteous. Outstanding value. Will definitely return. Loved being able to open balcony door to hear the sound of the waves and see the beauty of the beach!

Excellent location if you are wanting on the beach and near everything that Gulf Shores has to offer. The bed was extra comfy. The room was very clean. The restaurant had great food with reasonable pricing. We will stay here again!

Location is great. Parking was good. Access to beach was great. Onsite restaurant is good and convenient. Tip: Cheaper to book online vs phone. Indoor and outdoor pool was nice as options. Will be back here!

Very poor lighting--only one lamp,Postage stamp bathroom, lack of comfortable seating-no comfortable chairs. Staff was pleasant and room was clean. Beach access was lacking a board walk. Heated pool area was dingy dark --there was no lighting.

We stayed here for the shrimp fest. Great location as we were easily able to walk to the festival and return to the room for multiple breaks throughout the day. We had oceanfront room and it was clean and stocked throughout our stay. Lobby was clean as well and front desk staff were friendly and responsive to questions. Definitely would stay here again and recommend to anyone who wants to be on the beach with walking access to several good restaurants.

The front desk staff have such great personalities and are very knowledgeable of the area. The do's and donts plus they know they backroads and the short cuts. If you have never been to gulf shores understand that the traffic is unreal for this small town and you shouldn't be in a hurry to get anywhere or expect to find good parking. I guess that's one of the many perks to staying at a hotel with beach access. No driving and sitting in traffic hoping to find parking, walk outside and you are there. We chose not to have a beach view room since we knew we wouldn't be spending much time in the room except a quick shower and some sleep, the rest of the time we were on the go. There is a Walmart and dollar general not far which is convenient when you forget stuff. We will be back to stay! Next time we might splurge and get a beach view to get the full experience!

Everything is freshly painted and the bed was comfortable. I just don't feel it was worth the money. For the price I paid I expected better. The restaurant is the best part of the stay. The pictures online are very deceiving.

The rooms are good and the beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows. Water pressure was good in shower. Pool is nice and it is right on beach. Only down fall was check in. Room wasnt ready when we got there. I think it just wasnt staffed for shrimp fest the way it needed to be.

For $250 per night, breakfast should be included. Need to keep someone in the parking lot when events go on so no one parks who is not a guest. Room was ok, TV was large for the room size 47-50", kitchenette area was nice, but not used. I can see where the shelf in the bathroom above the sink could be an issue as it hangs halfway over the sink. Larger vanity and bathroom in general would be nice.

All of the girls in the family spent the weekend before Mother's Day here. The room was large enough for 5 people, and very clean. The front desk staff were all extremely friendly and polite. And they gave GREAT recommendations for restaurants!

Nice, clean, reasonable rates. Walk out of your room on to beach. Kitchenette no silverware Safe area close to shopping. Would definitely choose again for the price. Recommend bringing utensils, bowls, plates, and etc. There was a dollar general and Walmart close by so we went there to stock up. The Hangout is within walking distance which is a good place to eat for kids during the day and adults at night. The lounge chairs on the beach are $35 a day so bring your own chairs and beach umbrella. (Also at Walmart) I would definitely say for a vacation this place was great. Covered parking available on fort come first serve basis which was great during the rain. For toddlers this location isn't far from the Lagoon Pass where you can let the kids play in the water without worry of the waves.

We left another property and decided to stay in Alabama another night. The front desk was super quick and super helpful. The room was clean, there was easy access to the beach and my children enjoyed the pool.

My solo beach trip to relax, I booked a hotel room at the Beach... I arrived late. The hotel clerk was nice but I was sure about that place I was cringing as I walked to my room. Ugh!!! I was disgusted and it went on and on. But I will stop there with that. I just needed out. The next morning I got on line. Saw Best Western available. Spoke to Heather at the Front Desk. I explained my situation and she made me feel like I was not alone. I asked her if she had a room now. There was a charge for early arrival but she got me in ASAP. She was so patient with me at check in as I had holds on my credit card from yesterday's hotel stay that messed up my be able to pay and get in my room. I got my payment solved. No judgement from her. She is very helpful. The next morning I checked out with her and told her I was going to their restaurant. She came over seated me and waited on me. She checked on the next table. They were waiting too long for their table. She got on it. Then the Manager came out to talk to them and he was great. Here came their food they were very happy. Heard them say the food was excellent and they come here often. My food was excellent and I love this little hotel, Heather and Management. Thank you.

Beautiful view from balcony and very friendly staff! Clean rooms! The on-site restaurant is overpriced for what you get, at least breakfast is, we only ate there once. Other than that we had a great time and would definitely come back!

On the Beach, Great view. The room was clean with a great decor. Balcony was huge and the kids love it. Pools (yes they had 2) were great. You cant ask for much more from Best Western. Thanks for the great experience Corie .

Clean rooms for such a high volume hotel. It's comfortable and close to many good restaurants. It's perfect for a weekend getaway. Nice pool. Coffee in rooms was a plus! Definitely request the beach view- it's great!

I paid $320 a night for the only room with a jetted tub thinking the room would be nice. It was a queen room with one bed removed and a tub added in the living area. The other rooms were half the price so I paid $160 for a tub that did not get used because it was not in the bathroom. The pool is a joke and a lot smaller than it appears in pictures.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! The staff was spectacular, especially Tesha and Heather. They were SO accommodating and wonderful for our entire trip. For how stunning this place was, it was very affordable, and extremely comfortable. We chose a room on the 5th floor, with a STUNNING beach and pool view, and we could walk right on to the beach from the breezeway. The beach was beautiful and clean, and the temp was perfect all week. I feel SO lucky to have spent a week at such a beautiful, accommodating, and clean hotel. I would recommend this place to any family, couple, or solo traveler any time they're looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of life. We were within walking distance to plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops, bars, tattoo parlors, and about 30 Surf Style shops for all of your beach and souvenir needs. We were also within about 10 minutes from the world famous Ron Jon store. I CANNOT wait to come back!! They even had the fantastic Island Pancake House right inside the hotel. 10/10 we will be returning to this beautiful hotel.

The exterior lighting in the room was overbearing as well as the exterior noise and the elevator noise. The front desk receptionist stated that this would not be a problem but it was all night long. She did not offer any assistance. I asked for reimbursement but have not received a response yet.

Great check in and check out experience. The room was nice and overlooked the beach and had a nice balcony. We found the room the be getting a little long in the tooth, but was clean. The telephone was not usable, and the television was a trip...not really user friendly, but worked.

No continental breakfast, water fall didn't work on the outdoor pool, wasn't informed of an indoor pool; happened to find that on our own.weren't told there were any hot tubs. Afternoon clerk not helpful nor friendly. Asked what amenities came with the motel all she told me was the beach. Didn't have to stay at BW to get the beach could go elsewhere and get the beach. The afternoon clerk was not helpful at all. The morning clerk the next morning was very friendly and when I asked for more shampoo she gave me more with out question. Nothing to brag about at this motel.

My husband and I had a great time here. The room was nice. The view was amazing. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and professional. I can't wait to plan my next beach trip here. Fun trip!

The young man who checked us in was very helpful.. The food in the restaurant was good. However, the facility was somewhat run down. The entire place needs to be updated. The deck chairs were dilapidated plastic Adirondack chairs. We had to put pillows behind us in order to see the beach and prop them against the wall to make sure they didn't break down. The room was musty and the sink in the bathroom was plugged up.. The seats of the chairs in the dinning room were terribly stained. It was a small parking lot so sometimes you had to park across a busy 4 lane street.

We went to check in and they told us to come back at 2:30. We came back at 2:30 and then we were told very rudely to come back at 3:00. The elevators are terribly slow so we took the steps. The ice machine did not work. The pool is small. The luggage carts are old and barely roll. The views are pretty but the rooms are just OK. I will not stay here again.

Great Vacation Destination. Hotel is directly on the Gulf of Mexico. Staff was excellent. Has an in-house restaurant that serves breakfast lunch and dinner with a smile! Awesome service, food and views. I would recommend this place for your next gulf shores vacation!

We have stayed at the hotel many times. The outdoor pool with the cave is cool (his favorite part). If you decide to stay, don't bother getting the kitchenette. Our room had only one pot, 1 spoon, 2 forks, and no dish soap. The fridge is a little bigger, so there is that. The internet drops frequently, so don't plan on using it much. Our elevator broke 4 times during our stay. The beach is very nice, lots of beach front. Their on site restaurant is ok, the staff are nice. The beds are pretty nice, and the balconies provide a great view. They have an indoor pool and hot tub. Lots of parking, but very little of it is in the shade. We enjoy this hotel, but I think they should try and fix the broken and falling apart hotel during the winter .

We booked our reservations online on our way down to the beach. I wasn't sure what to expect with the cost being so low and the room being on the beach. Upon arrival the front desk was very friendly checking me in and as we were talking a man steps from the back after he heard me inquiring about breakfast. He immediately begin to fill out a card to give my husband and I a free breakfast on him. Turns out this guy is Mr T, not the one you're thinking of, and he is the owner! He was very welcoming and it was clear to me he had every intention of seeing to it we enjoyed our stay. We were off to a great start now to the room. I held my breath as we open the door but that wasn't necessary because it turns out to be a great room. Beautifully decorated very clean in appearance and smell. The beds are comfortable with great pillows no need to bring your own. After unpacking we headed to the beach which we had easy access to. The next morning we had our fantastic breakfast. We loved our bacon! Our waitress was kind and courteous. We spent half the day on the beach and the other half just lounging by the pool which we also found to be very clean. The next morning it was time to go home unfortunately and I headed to check out where once again I was greeted buy mr. T! We had a nice conversation and I told him we truly enjoyed our stay. This is obviously one of the older hotels on the strip in Gulf Shores but it has been nicely renovated! The staff takes great care and concern in making sure that you feel welcome and enjoy your stay with them. This will be our go-to spot from now on when we want to make a last-minute trip to Gulf Shores.

Took my 2 kids on a final summer trip before school started. The room wasn't bad, beds were comfy. My only two complaints is that the air is really loud when it clicks on and housekeeping starts very early in the morning. I would definitely stay here again if I were to come back. I would also recommend spending the extra money for gulf view. WOW! How wonderful it was to wake up and have coffee on the balcony and watch the gulf. Pool was a little dirty and although the cave was cute, it was too tempting to kids to stay off of it. Didn't eat at the restaurant so I can't give any insight to that.

Super sweet cleaning crew. They cleaned up every chance they got and every time we left. Not sure why there are such negative reviews about them. Every time we left and came back we had a clean room! We checked in around 1am and wanted to upgrade our room. They had no problem doing that for us. Quick and easy check in and check out experience. The beach is steps from the elevator! Location is perfect and right near everything you need. We will definitely be back next year! :)

If your looking for Family run place and quaint but not fancy then this hotel is for you. I wanted an easy , low key vacation for 5 days at end of summer and I have teenage boys. While this doesn't have tons of amenities it does have 1) great family run staff and 2) awesome location on the beach. I'd wake up every day, put on suit and flip flops and was out the back door and on the beach. I gave the boys money and told them to go have fun. It's safe and I didn't worry about them , too much. The staff is incredible; Bobby Thompson and family run this place. It has a pancake house attached to property, free parking, and you can walk everywhere. I was able to make the most out of the 4 or 5 days and came home refreshed instead of worn out. Simple is better. Can't say enough. I'm going back. Check out the photo of my room view.

All the staff was very kind and helpful, rooms was very clean, beds we're comfortable. The beach view and the balcony sealed the deal our family will be making more trips to gulf shores and only staying at the Best Western in the beach, I would recommend this place to anyone!!

Excellent place to stay if you want quick access to the beach. All rooms have kitchenettes. A little dated but very clean and a very helpful staff. Easy walking to great local restaurant. I would stay again.

The hotel was clean and staff was nice. Even though it is on the beach the rooms seemed to remain sand free. There is no free breakfast, but the restaurant in the hotel made up for that. The Island Pancake House has great food and great service.

The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. It was have been really nice if we had a complimentary breakfast included with the hotel stay. Rooms were a tad small however, they were basically used for sleeping so were satisfactory.

Stayed for a week and had a great experience. Ocean view from balcony was perfect. Front desk and maid service were very nice. No reflection on the hotel but don't leave anything lying around outside of your room. People will steal everything. Hotel can't control what people do, so i don't blame them. Just a PSA.

My family only had a few days to spend at Gulf Shores and we planned the trip at the last minute. Everything is expensive there so we chose the Best Western based on price. We were not disappointed. If you are looking for a clean hotel with comfortable beds, this place is for you. It is somewhat dated; however, the service was good, room had a kitchenette, AC worked great, balcony had a great view of the beach, and the hotel is right on the beach without some long board walk. The outdoor hot tub was lacking a bit as it was Luke warm at best and small, but who cares because we were there for the beach... If we needed towels, someone brought them immediately. Housekeeping was on it each morning with friendly service. Will recommend this place to everyone!

I was not offered any help with getting my bags and things to the room. The key cards didn't work the second day. Front desk staff answered questions but offered nothing beyond that. The hotel is old but updated. The pool was very noisy and my balcony overlooked the pool area.

Had a Great Vacation with my family at the Best Western on the Beach at GulfShores. Quick and easy check in with a beautiful ocean side room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It it also located in good location in Gulf Shores.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Housekeeping only showed up once to clean. We had to request fresh towels. I loved that we were right on the beach BUT very pricey. No breakfast. Their restaurant that boasts they are the best was terrible. Our food was all burnt or really crispy.

Not up to date on decor. Housekeeping didn't clean room till late. Afternoon/early evening. Free breakfast is only for 2 guest ( don't get a choice of items on menu) the rest of the food on menu is expensive if you have other people in your group. Staff is friendly. My experience is it's not worth the $.

Nice hotel, very clean room (exactly as pics on website). Walk off the elevator and just about on the beach. Our room had an amazing view. Just had a short stay, but was a great place to stay. Will be back!

Very friendly environment, and very welcoming. The front desk ladies were so friendly and my room view was beautiful. In the restaraunt, the food, the staff, and the view were all amazing! If your ever coming to this area and looking for somewhere to stay, this is the place!

Loved being right on the beach but for the price we paid, would have been nice to have a nice hotel. Housekeeping cleaned our room 1 time from Tuesday through Saturday. We had to ask for fresh towels. Housekeeping and front desk was not very friendly at all.

Really enjoy my stay at the bestwestern in gulf Shores Alabama, stayed there 4 days ,enjoyed every moment nice staff , house keep was great also, clean sheets and towels ,ate at the restaurant every day we where there some best food I had in a while I eat out all the time

Best Western on the Beach is a SUPER value for the money! The staff was wonderful and the room was very clean, cool, and relaxing. Of course we spent most our time on the beach:) The beach was easy to access, and the pools were a good option for us as well. I would suggest a little more seating for the pool areas. We really enjoyed our stay!

We have been here many times, even the limited view rooms still have nIce view. My husband proposed to me here. Beach is nice and clean, rooms are very airy lots of room--floor plan is well laid out. We try to come here at least once every other month for a romantic getaway. Only thing I wish is that breakfast be included with stay .

The room was clean, large enough to accomadate 4 adults without issue. Kitchenett was nice. Staff friendly. We had a wonderful time, great senior trip for my daughter. Loved that the Best Western On The Beach is within walking distance of many resturants and shopping. View on the beach side AWESOME!!! Wish we could have stayed another week. :)

Although staff is very friendly the hotel is dated and in dire need of renovations. Room furniture is at least 20 years old based on the style. Carpet has been replaced but there was a musty odor. Beds were very firm and pillow were extremely thick only a problem for me because I like a flat pillow. Bathroom was small, only warm water and hot water wanted to take cold shower because it was 90 degrees outside not and option. The water pressure was non existent at warm setting. DO NOT EAT AT THE RESTAURANT BARELY AVERAGE FOOD WITH HIGH PRICES. The good was that the staff was helpful and very nice, the cleaning staff were exceptional, restaurant staff adequate. Free parking and plenty of it. Just steps from the beach.

Great people and great atmosphere. clean room and the location was perfect for our needs. had a great restful stay and we will be coming back again. the pools were nice and the beach was very relaxing.

Have stayed many times over last twenty years. Nothing like coffee on your own private balcony right over the sand. Rooms are in pristine condition with large fluffy bath towels. Front desk staff very helpful even finding me band aids for a scrape. We love staying here. Our only complaint is the quality of the toilet paper and tissues, for the room price an upgrade would be nice. But love it otherwise!

We had about 45 ppl in our group and the hotel accommodated us all. The staff was so nice and friendly. The owner came out and meet us and let us take pictures at the pool. Wonderful place to eat. Everything was good and plenty of it.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. It's central to entertainment and right on the beach. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. I had a few requests, and they worked toward and helped me with each one. Even though they are not exactly new, the facilities are wonderful and clean. This was a more enjoyable stay thanks to the hotel/staff.

We upgraded our room from a street view to ocean view as soon as we arrived and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. Our room was very clean and everything worked great. We had stayed a couple of years ago and was pleased with everything and that is why we chose to stay at this location again. We will definitely stay again.

This hotel is right on the beach which is really GREAT! The views are awesome! But we like to relax on the pool deck and watch the ocean. The problem is the dunes are so big that you can not see the ocean from the pool deck. There weren't very many chairs and no umbrellas on the two or three tables they had. Sometimes we like to use a pool and sometimes we like to go to the beach. We went to the beach the 3 days we were there. The sand is beautiful, but it is difficult for older folks to walk in and quite a ways too. Not a bad place at all, but was disappointed with the pool area.

We booked because of the location and we weren't disappointed...it is right in the beach. We stayed in room 426 which was quiet and clean and decently updated. The front desk people were nice but couldn't help with advice on restaurants in the area. We cut our visit short because of bad weather and were not charged for the booked night because we left before 11:00 a.m. However...if I had it to do over again I would've tried a little harder and spent the extra $ to get a condo with a kitchen and living room.

Breakfast restaurant is not associated with hotel but is good. Stay overall was good. Renovations should be completed. Beach view and access very good. Parking a little tight.Staff very accommodating, location excellent.

One small room, low water pressure, mattresses too soft,worn. Your paying for location on the beach,nothing else.Three people staying in room, one tiny bar of soap, two towels.Coffee supplies for only two cups of coffee. Was the equivalent of a Motel 6 room located on the beach. Not worth what I paid, but when you depend on pictures on the website as to what you end up with it is too late to do anything once you are there.

This is my favorite place to stay. Always clean. Staff always friendly. Close to stores and resturants. The pools and hot tubes are clean and easy to access. The beach is only a few steps away. A very wonderful place.

This Best Western was absolutely amazing, from the friendly staff to all of the amenities! Unfortunately we rented from a popular vacation rental site initially and got screwed by the owner of the property we initially rented. But fortunately, vacation rental company found this gem for us, right on the beach. My family and I loved it! We were received with open arms! The rooms were very clean, nothing out of place! Friendly staff who readily accommodated! We would stay again in a heartbeat!

First off, I'm a Best Western Platinum Rewards member. We spents $935 for two nights, two queens, oceanfront, Sunday and Monday this Memorial Day weekend. The room was ordinary. Comfortable, clean, but nothing special. It lacked sufficient outlets for devices. Fortunately, I travel with extension cords. I needed both. The HD television did not have HD service and no premium channels offered. Even a dump-of-an Econolodge in Carlsbad, NM, we stayed in on this trip we're on had that. The drain in the shower was so slow that I ended up standing ankle-deep in my own beach-scummy shower water, which is a major pet peeve of mine. And, to top it off, our room was never serviced by housekeeping. No fresh towels, no trash emptied or coffee cups replaced, no beds made. Even the Econolodge dump offered that. The view was great from the room. I guess that's what I paid $900 for. This left me feeling like a fool.

Stayed the night right on the beach, room had a balcony with a couple of chairs and little table after a stroll on the beach great place to sit and relax. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was a little disappointing,

Excellent, clean, friendly staffed restaurant. Breakfast served till close and was very good & fresh. Pictures don't show full portion, because we started eating before picture!! Full Menu, large portions. The service was quick and pleasant!! Waitress has been there 31 years..... This speaks volume to Me. One of the best in the area!!

I am a Best Western rewards member and had received a free night at a Best Western hotel because I usually stay in one of there hotels at least twice a month. My fiance and myself decided to take a trip to Gulf Shores for a few days. I figured I would use my free night the first day and then just pay for a second night. The hotel and room was so far below the standard that I'm used to from Best Western hotels that I was a little taken back. I was told that an additional night would run around $180. We ended up staying at another hotel less than a mile down the strip the second night. The second hotel we stayed at was MUCH nicer and about $20 cheaper, it blew my mind that as a best western rewards member I could get a cheaper price for a better room at another hotel. Also, to be fair this was the week after spring break and the hotel we stayed at the second night said that alot of the hotels on the strip were still charging spring break rates and they were, so that could explain the price difference.

We stayed here for 3 nights in April 2019 after walking out on a reservation at a different hotel in the area. The Best Western hotel basically saved our vacation. The management was so kind, had a room available at a fair rate, and kicked in a complimentary breakfast as well. Beautiful location with a stunning ocean view. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Close to restaurants. We would happily return.

This is right on the beach and within walking distance of the main Gulf Shores area (Mikees, the Hang Out, Dollar General). It is an older hotel. It has the outdoor walkways to your room, not interior halls. Lobby is small but staff was pleasant. I called down the day before arrival to check on prices and the girl who answered was rude so I was a little worried. We were on the second floor and rode the elevator up the first time. The elevator was filthy and we didn't use it again, but we also wanted to use stairs just because it is healthier for you. The room was all redone! New carpet, new furnishings, new paint and the bed was VERY comfortable which I rarely find on vacation. Bathroom vent was loud but bathroom also had been updated. We had a balcony looking over the pool area and also onto beach. The pool was a bit small and way to cold for us old people to get in. They were replacing the deck boards around the pool so the owner is definitely making continual upgrades. There is a indoor heated pool and hot tub which we didn't use either but the area and pool looked like it was kept up. We didn't have any Kleenex and needed more towels so I left a note for housekeeping and everything we needed was there when we got back. Only complaints were the restaurant on Monday didn't open until much later. We are early risers and we wanted a large cup of coffee and my husband made several trips down to see if they were open, it was after 7am before they opened. That is maybe a convenience you get at a larger hotel chain, always coffee when you want it. My only other complaint was the price, I think the Friday and Saturday rate, for what you get was over priced but I also know we paid for the convenience of being on the beach.

Bathroom ventilation was very poor, Shelf over toilet and sink poorly designed, prohibiting you from washing your face using the sink b/c impossible to splash water on your face as the shelf is right in your way. Small pool, Stone deck/walkway areas are in need of renovation as many stones are uneven causing tripping. Toiletries supplied are in a hard plastic, making it nearly impossible to squeeze anything out of them, especially arthritic hands. Noisy A/C unit. Insulation poor, could hear neighbors TV all evening. Staff was friendly though, especially the maid service. If I had known that the Pool deck was being renovated, I would not have booked to stay here. Pool is extremely small, too and the water didn't look clean and refreshingly cool. No complimentary beach chairs, either. Had to rent if you you wanted to sit in a chair @ $35 per day, which for someone on a budget, is not affordable. We purchased a chair for the duration, and then gave it to the desk up front and asked them to give it to someone that needed it. The one positive I will say about this place is location. Right on the beach, and within walking distance to shops and restaurants.

I took my daughter and two of her friends to stay on the beach and this property was perfect! It was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location was amazing!! Close to restaurants and right on the beach!

Our family decided to take a spur of the moment trip to Gulf Shores and my daughter chose Best Western on the Beach. At first, hearing the name and seeing how it was set up I thought the worse. The hotel is right on the beach and the room was NOT what I expected. The room was very roomy, the living room had a door leading out to the balcony and so did the bedroom. The bathroom was huge compared to other hotels and the location was perfect. The only thing we had a problem with was the air conditioner bc it didn't get cold enough(which wasn't a problem for me bc I'm always cold lol). We will definitely be going back soon!!

had on ocean side view that was fantastic. this year I decided to have a little me time before the kids got out for spring break. heather at the front desk was very helpful in room selection, giving me peace with a beautiful view. everything was perfect. I really enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the water as the sun set then enjoyed some time in the pool.

Great older hotel right on the beach in the heart of town. Well maintained and updated. Fabulous view. Walk to great restaurants and shops. Plenty of parking. Bring beach chairs and towels and a cooler.

We usually enjoy the pancake house but today the service was not that good.the waitress finally came back to the table after we ran out of coffee and water. We were the only customer in there. The food was great, but we had to endure some Male employ using propane language loud over and over he seemed upset in the kitchen. I dont talk that way and dont wsnt my family around that!

Great location for family beach fun! You really stay here for the beach. Bed/pillows/rest was good. Shower was ok - not much water pressure. Pancake place was okay but not exceptional. Our room lacked easily accessible outlets by the bed and didn't have the microwave advertised --- reason for low room rating. Clean - room was but silverware/plates from restaurant had to be returned.

Such a great place. Wow! Those views. Super friendly staff and clean updated rooms. The restaurant call Island Pancake House is a local institution. My breakfast was fantastic! From the minute I walked into the lobby I was greeted by Heather at the main desk. She took care of everything I needed while staying there. I have stayed at this Best Western on the Beach about 4 times. They are DIRECTLY on the beach. Great location, just down from a few restaurants.They are pricey at times that seem odd and cheaper at times that i expect to pay more. Wish they had a ramp or the elevators went to the bottom.

Overall the room was ok but the beds and missing tv remotes kept me from giving it a higher score. The deck around the outside pool is a trip hazard but the indoor pool is nice. Convenient beach access and restaurants within walking distance.

Excellent location. Hot tubs were nice and nice size pool, if the pool had been heated it would have been nice but it was so cold it was not any fun to even try to play in. My family enjoyed walking on the beautiful beach and the friendly staff was helpful when they could be.

Not only is the location great, the beds are comfy and rooms have a great view. Sleeping with the sound of the surf and the breezes off the Gulf made our stay a beach heaven. Location and breakfast at the on site restaurant made for a convenient and comfortable escape to the beach

I have attempted to use Best Western in the past for client bookings. Each time, I have either had NO reply, or was left hanging. I don't want to lump all of Best Western together in on this one, but my experience with Best Western on the Beach, Gulf Shores, was frustrating. I put in a request for a group rate and to reserve a block of rooms and never got a response. Now, I know that during peak season, some hotels can't honor these due to demand, and I'm good with that. Knowing this, I called this location to inquire. The representative that answered the call was distracted, probably by the loudly ringing phone in the background. When I asked if a group rate and/or block reservation was possible, the girl was huffy and rude. I understand if she was busy. I get it. But it got worse when I had to ask her to repeat herself, because the loud ringing in the background was making it hard to hear. She yelled into the phone, "We don't do that!". So, sad to say, I will not be referring or booking any rooms in the future with this particular location...

We actually booked another property to stay in, although when we got there it was terrible. So, we chose to go to Best Western where we always have a good experience. It's always clean, and staff is very friendly. We have learned our lesson!! Best Western it is from now on!!

When it's cold and u just need the sun and sand. Drove all night to spend one day at the beach. This hotel made our trip so enjoyable. Great location, great price, great view. Friendly staff and accessibility to the beach. Restaurant was also great. We will return.

This is an older Hotel that has been renovated. It is very tasteful. I usually don't sleep well in hotels but these beds were amazing. My husband and I were both very please with how well we slept. We had a kitchenette which proved to be very handy. We had room 110 and love the view we had. We would like to stay in that room if we return but I would insist that the exhaust fan in the bathroom be fixed. (VERY LOUD).

I was just "passing through"; but, this is a very nice property. This would be a great family destination. Several very nice places to eat, all within a half mile and several within walking distance. Would definitely consider returning for vacation.

The hotel was clean. The location was right on the main strip, easy to find. There was plenty of parking spots, at no extra charge. The view from my room was great, ocean view! Love the location on the beach! Staff was friendly. I stayed two night and had express check out. I had made a reservation, so check in was quick as well. My room was clean, well equipped. I walked to a location restaurant that had a good choice of foods. It was a very good experience!

Our room overlooked the ocean. We had a room with a stove, refrigerator and microwave. Clean and easily one of the nicer properties despite being an older property. Attached to the hotel is the Pancake House. Super breakfasts!!

Stayed at the Best Western On The Beach for one night before a family gathering on down the beach. It was the most reasonable price we found right on the beach. The hotel staff was friendly and the room was clean. They put us in the older section of the hotel, so the room was not great. Had breakfast in the hotel restaurant. the food was good but service was poor. Had get up and fill our own coffee cups. They were not even that busy.

Beautiful, looks newly renovated, and perfect location. We walked to dinner and return to enjoy an amazing ocean view. Our room was clean, comfy, and quiet. New flooring instead of carpet is a great touch. Staff was great Indoor pool was warm and refreshing.

I stayed two nights to run the local marathon race and was very pleased. I booked an oceanfront suite with a kitchenette and it was an excellent stay. Parking was good. The on-site owner/manager was very friendly and had great recommendations for where to get groceries. Thanks for the hospitality!

Best Western on the Beach is located within walking distance shops, restaurants, mini-golf, and more. Most places are a 4 - 15 minute walk or a 2 minute drive. There is an indoor pool and two jacazzis that are hot and feel good to tired bones. The outdoor pool is clean and creatively designed. There is an old jacuzzi (no longer working) that is used as a kiddie pool. The rooms are clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. The beach is nice and right in front of the hotel. The Gulf Shores pier is only a 20 minute walk from the hotel (by beach. There is a nice shower as you come off the beach onto the property. There are a variety of television channels and wi-fi is fast. I wish it had been a bit less expensive, especially since breakfast was not included. But we had a kitchenette which helped cut our dining costs. Despite the cost, I would stay there again.

With the expert assistance from Heather at the front desk, we decided to use some rewards points to reserve a room for our daughter and her friend visiting from out of town. Heather went out of her way to help us and even upgraded their room. The girls enjoyed the room very much and took advantage of the indoor hot tub which they said could have been warmer. But the beds were great and they enjoyed the balcony and view of the ocean. The hotel was very convenient to our condo for running back and forth. A very good customer experience for these platinum members!

The rooms are fairly large. Comfortable beds. Everything in the room was great. However, at check in the front doors did not work. I had to walk through a flooded patio to get to the side door that you have to enter. The upgrade thats needed is the elevator. Someone got stuck in it and the fire department had to come let them out.

This was our first time in Gulf Shores. Clean-up from the hurrican in Panama City Beach was underway so our plans changed, litteraly, as we traveled from TN to MS then to AL and skirting some of the panhandle of FL, we continued to SC, NC, VA and up the coast back to NY. Good news, our friends were able to move back into their PC home the same weekend, though we were not able to visit at that time :-( So, staying at the BW here in Gulf Shores was a good experience. Our room was clean and comfortable in all aspects; the indoor pool was in a separate building, clean but lacked lighting; the hot tubs (2) were not very hot and there was a boy about 10 years old, who was bounching back between them while his father sat with his smartphone in hand... I felt sorry for the young couple trying to relax and have a conversation! PARENTS, mind your kids! The outdoor pool was a little too cool for us and the "deep end" had very little room to actually swim due to the grotto like structures. Looked interesting, but not very functional. What looked like an outdoor hot tub turned out to be a kiddie pool with a seating area all the way around. I could just pictures kids tumbling off of that! The pancake house restaurant was not that great... supposedly the best pancakes ever or something like that. Not true; but the service was fine and our server was friendly. There are plenty of other places to eat. The only real advantage to this restaurant was that it was attached to the building and in inclement weather, this could be a plus. In nice weather, you can eat out on the deck. The ocean water fun with waves high enough to be sporting yet low enough for this out of shape grandmother! We love to walk the beach as well and so we did. Will we be back? If we are in this area, most likely, as we are Rewards members. It was a great last minute place to book and we were grateful to find vacancy with so many families displaced along the coast further east.

This BW was so comfy and clean, amazing beds, nice carpet, awesome view of the balcony! A plus i didn't know about until we got to our room was a equipped kitchenette! Don't eat at the over priced pancake house, make your own breakfast! My stay was so great, I will always stay here when visiting Gulf Shores! Also, the employee Candy was a southern belle. We just came from New Orleans where the front desk clerks were less than desirable and she alone made me feel right at home!

Great location right on the Gulf. The staff was very good and rooms were very nice with a good view of the Gulf. The weather could have been nicer but enjoyed the indoor hot tubs. The hotel is not only on the water, but convienr.

Clean and friendly hotel. We had a gulf view. Enjoyed sun on balcony in morning and the sound of the waves all day. Be sure to tell Pancake House that you have a room there, will get a significant discount.

Had a really great experience staying at best western. We took a family trip and we loved the view, the rooms and even the staff was so polite and took care of any thing we needed. Can't wait to go back.

My husband and I went to Gulf Shores for a short, three-day getaway and decided to try the Best Western on the Beach. We were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the “walk to anywhere” location. Plenty of good restaurants and gift shops close by with the best gift being having the beautiful beach right outside the door. The restaurant for breakfast at the hotel was very good and reasonably priced. The hotel also offers free WiFi and good TV channel selections. This was our first time to visit in September and we loved that time of year! The traffic was light, the restaurants less crowded, the sun and water were warm without the stifling heat. We usually rent condos or houses on a longer stay but Best Western is certainly not only an option for a shorter stay, but a longer one as well. It deserves a try!

Love the best western!! Hotel is very clean, and beds are extremely comfortable. Right on the beach, which is very convenient. Also has a pool which is very refreshing after being on the beach all day. Staff is ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING!!! Always go out of their way every time. Made our engagement a time to remember, even decorated our room for us. Highly recommend this hotel, best hotel and close to everything as well, walking distance too.

we love to take mini vacations and best western is the best place to go. from the very helpful front desk (heather) to housekeeping we have a wonderful time. we choose to get beach side room to enjoy view of sunset. the balcony provides enough cover to sit out and enjoy the breeze. the indoor pool is great for the grandkids to swim even if cool outside and the convienance of pancake house in mornings is great

We had a wonderful stay. The location is ideal. The property was well maintained. Everyone from House keeping to staff working the desk were so polite and helpful. We are looking forward to our next visit.

First off, the beaches here in this location are fantastic. Clean, well groomed white sand. Of course there are dozens of hotels sharing the beach. This hotel is getting a little long in the tooth. Not what I'd rate as one to avoid, but just know that it's kinda showing it's age. Seems that there have been a number of "refurbs" over the years and it shows. Our room was clean and everything worked and the A/C was NOT noisy, which is a plus in my book. The desk staff could use some customer service training, however the wait staff at the restaurant were pleasant and prompt. Breakfast was VERY good. We stayed in October and the off season rate was fairly reasonable.

Everything about the weekend at Best Western on the beach was awesome!! The room was so nice and clean. I was so impressed with the layout of the room and especially the bathroom because there was a place for all the extra stuff I bring to the beach. As someone with painful back issues I never look forward to hotel beds b/c they hurt my back but the bed I slept on was like sleeping on air! I got the best sleep in a long time...I wish I could have taken the bed home with me. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING AT THIS HOTEL! The staff are so friendly and the rooms are worth the stay!! THANKS FOR A RESTFUL WEEKEND BEST WESTERN!!

This hotel and the staff were perfect for me and my family. The room was great and the view was amazing. Heather and the rest of the staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Highly recommend.
