« Nothing like the photos they provide »

The room smelt of dog, tub was not cleaned, toilet didn't flush, tv and air conditioning unit were horribly loud not to mention the ac unit didn't even work properly the room never cooled down. You share the pool with whomever they rent it to for lessons which is ridiculous. The breakfast in one word disgusting and the man running it was rude and rushed people horrible experience

    « Filthy... »

Our room had food in the drawers and all over the floors. The tv cabinet had something sticky all over it. I washed my face and grabbed a folded up towel and there was toothpaste and mouthwash all over it. Pubic hair in the tub and walls, dust and water spots all over the toilet, shelf and sink. The carpet was filthy too! I would never stay at this hotel again!

« Nice place to stay - but it is 3 Stars »

A bit old but clean and easy on and off the Interstate. Stayed 3 days and did not regret it. Not much for Breakfast but they are trying hard to please their guests. A bit run down but just what we needed. Great Beds and nice room. A good place to stay at a reasonable rate.

    « Not Terrible »

Before I made my reservations online with Best Western, I called the hotel directly. I asked if there was an elevator and there is not. I asked about getting a room on the first floor due to my husband and my back and knee issues. The girl I spoke with, Rivkah, was very helpful. She could not match the online price but advised me to reserve online and then call 2-3 days prior to check to hopefully secure a main floor room. This I did. Upon our arrival on the afternoon of 10/13/16, Rivkah checked us in. She was very pleasant and professional. Our room was indeed on the main floor. The hotel is a bit dated but for the price I paid, we felt it was a fair deal. We have stayed at much nicer hotels and paid more and have stayed at real dumps and paid less. The bed was comfortable and the room was somewhat quiet, except for the ticking of the fridge. My biggest complaint- Our first morning, before we left, I wrote a note, along with a nice tip, requesting some extra coffee and towels. We left at 9am and returned about 10pm. Our room was never touched. Garbage still full, bed unmade, no towels, coffee or cups. My tip money went back in my pocket and I went to the front desk with my complaint. I was given towels, coffee and cups an assured this would be addressed. The next day, we were gone for about 12 hours. Upon our return, the room was not great. Trash was empty and bed covers thrown up. Our hung towels were taken and not replaced. This is an annual trip for our family. We will not be staying at this hotel again.

« Adequate for My Needs »

Very basic hotel. Comfortable bed and clean room. Great internet. I was presenting at a conference in this hotel and staying here made being prepared for an 8:00 start very easy. I almost chose another motel based on some of the reviews... but I was glad I stayed. The breakfast was adequate - the usual motel fare with egg patties, waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc. Not especially flavorful...but toast and coffee and fruit were all I wanted anyway.

    « Good Value »

We arrived late in the evening and we quickly checked in. The room was updated with the basic amenities and was very clean. The hotel should update their tv system to high definition. Breakfast was included and had the standard offerings. The hotel is a good value for even more than we paid.

« Not the best of Best Western »

Located in a commercial area, this Best Western is a little aged and the staff person who greeted me could not have cared less that I had requested a room on the first floor and none were available. No apology... not making a good impression at all. On the plus side, the room was clean and comfortable, However... the AC was soooooo annoying, cycling on and off so sleep did not come easy. Management should give their personnel a few tips on how to treat customers. Would certainly look for other options. One plus to our stay was that we discovered a great hole in the wall pizza place, Leone's, about a mile away. Pizza was awesome and the guys their new how to greet and treat their customers!

« Not a quality hotel. Definitely not 3 star!!! »

The bed was comfortable, but that is my only positive comment. The bathroom was small and dingy. After walking on the room carpet without shoes for only a few minutes, the soles of my feet were BLACK!! I wore my flip-flops continually after that. I understand why the breakfast was free--it was inedible!! The next morning we went to Bob Evan's and had a delicious breakfast. Even though I requested a non-smoking room, the entire facility smelled of smoke. Would I stay here again or recommend to my friends, absolutely not! DH

    « Never again »

Although the beds were comfy, the rest of this stay was not so good. The room we reserved was not available, there were smokers at every door, the parking was a ways from the door and the breakfast room was crowded. When we pointed out that there were no tables available, the staff tried to get a lady to give up the table where her sons were sitting. She finally reluctantly opened another room. I am handicapped and was told there was no elevator. After climbing two sets of steps I saw an elevator. Not a pleasant experience.

« Okay for the price »

Stayed here with my group of 15 people for 3 nights. Our check in went smoothly and the staff was helpful. There was a breakfast but the hot food was not very good at all. There is a Thai restaurant in the building. Food was okay. Nothing special. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I would use it again.

    « Great stay »

I got there a few hours early and the manager was extremely accommodating. I got my room and settled in. The room was fresh and clean smelling with plenty of towels. I never got to use the pool but it looked nice and we'll kept. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that the main hallway smelled of marijuana. I personally didn't have an issue with it but some people might. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

    « good day »

happen I'm looking for my budget hotel going thought the list and find the best western close to exit my way t right price was a lot better what's I was think with money I have to pay for a night a listen always check a lot good thing out there but you need time to looking for

    « Disappointed »

Obviously an older hotel. One of those hotels whose owners are probably "riding it out" for as long as they can without having to spend money on remodeling. The neighborhood is an old, worn out commercial area, next to a Pizza Hut and a few other restaurants and various stores littered throughout the area. The entire east wing of the hotel smelled very strongly of marijuana. The west wing and lobby area smelled fine, as I had to walk a long way to find an ice machine that worked (The one near our room and the one near the lobby were not working). The cleanliness of the room was just average. We are not picky when it comes to most things. A clean quiet, comfortable room is what matters most to us. It did have a faint smell of marijuana/cigarette smoke, which likely crept in from the hallway and/or nearby rooms (seriously, the hallway smelled like a Grateful Dead concert). Otherwise, the room was reasonably clean. Footsteps from the room above us were very loud. The pool is very large (Jr. Olympic size) and has a walking/joggin track around the top. The hot tub was also nice. Everything was obviously old, but kept in fair shape and clean for the most part. Breakfast consisted of make-your-own waffles, bagels, and cereal, and also sausage, pancakes and instant egg patties, all of which were cold. The gentleman running the breakfast area was exceptionally friendly and funny. I would definitely seek out another area next time we stay in Columbus. We have stayed in Polaris area before, which has some very nice, reasonably priced hotels. Wifi was weak, bathroom door hinge was broken, weak water pressure. You get what you pay for.

« I guess sometimes you don't even get what you pay for! »

Gross hotel. Outside signage turned off at night, pool in disrepair and closed. No a/c in the hallways, so stifling hot on the 90 degree day we were there. Room was just average at best. Our a/c had lots of trouble kicking in at bedtime, so it was hot, humid, damp and uncomfortable. Would never come back.

« Best value and services »

The reception staff are very nice and helpful even in a late night. We got there at midnight, but we received a very warm and welcome smile, and we felt like a family member welcome us home. In the morning, when we checked out, we got a very warm greeting. We definitely will come back!

    « Worst Western!!! »

The hotel looks great on the internet but Is something totally different when you get there. I would have expected this at maybe the "6" but I paid dam near $100 to stay here for one night. Weed smoke permeated the hallways and my room was not clean. I love Best Western Hotels but the was the worst I've encountered EVER!

    « Don't know how it got 8.8 on »

For the price I wasn't expecting 5* luxury. Check in was fine. That's were it ended. We were given room 137. Even by thd admission of their staff, rooms 137 and 135 are not fit for letting. Our room smelled musty and unaired. The ac unit was horribly noisy The worst problem was the horrendous noise that emanated from the service room next door. This contains the water pump for the whole building. It was impossible to sleep!! We were moved the 2nd night we were there, but the damage was done. Very, very tired The other point of complaint was breakfast. Not so much the food, but the pathetic fact that we were expected to eat off paper plates and bowls, and use the cheapest sort of plastic cutlery, so bad that they could not cut the food on offer but just bent. Me and my daughter were reduced to eating off our plates with our fingers. Pointless and pathetic penny pinching Not to be repeated, and if that is Best Western standard then I'll never use them again

« Worst hotel experience ever. »

Nasty room, food and decor. This hotel is in a bad location and has not been updated for a very long time. There is not a working elevator for guests. We were not offered assistance with our luggage. The room was dark and the beds were not comfortable. The breakfast was horrible. Never again.

We had 14 nights stay and enjoyed our rooms the check in was quick. The room we had were big with two double bed TV MICROWAVE AND COFFEE MAKER There was a basic free breakfast included. Hotel .Com offered the best price at $1598 for 2 rooms. With temperature a 96f the aircon kept us cool.

« Great for the price »

The location of the hotel was fine. Worthington is a decent area. Inside, the hotel was much bigger than anticipated; there's so much space inside, including a restaurant/bar and banquet rooms. The smell inside of the hotel was fine, nothing too potent that was unpleasant. We stayed in a king size bed. The bed was decently comfortable, and the room was a good size. The ac unit is a bit loud, but nothing that should keep you from your slumber. With a pool and workout room to distract you, this hotel should have everything you need for the price. The staff was friendly as well.

    « Pleasant Visit Home »

Came from FL to visit children and grandchildren. Hotel had been recently renovated. Facilities were excellent. The only problem we had was a dirty carpet (other rooms along the hall were being cleaned while we were there). Was very handy to I-71 which made access to the whole city very easy.

« in town for Mopar NATS. »

fair value, but Bed Bugs in one bed of our two rooms .it was safe because cops around all over the place about all night. .Entry doors were propped open all over the property airing out the place from smokers I guess. lots of places to eat near by.

« Shady area of town come night time. »

Stayed for a quick overnight so I didn't have to drive back to Cleveland only to return 12 hours later. Rate was $81 and only 5 miles from Polaris, I thought would be just perfect. I was with my 15 year old son, so we're not as picky as when my wife would be with us. Easy on and off I71, a few places to eat around and all. Except when it got dark, the area became quite sketchy at best. The hotel was very old, the room was clean for the most part, but when I walked in the room, the lights were all on, window was open, and looks as if someone had sat on one of the beds. Ok kinda weird, but it's only for about 12 hours. Bathroom had some hairs in it, bedding covers were stained and dirty. What can I expect for $81 on a Friday night ? Came back late from movie and guards walking around parking lot, police in the area, and lots of skeevy people loitering around the parking lot, hotel and its various entrance doors smoking and all. So, my wife if she was with me would've drove to the Hilton at Polaris had she seen this. In room for night ok, AC was loud, but expected since old. Beds hard but fine. Free breakfast next morning, well let's say I was grossed out, felt dirty and scuzzy, nasty homeless looking people in there and the food looked unappetizing. My son and I walked out after 30 seconds and drove over to Bob Evans instead, felt as if get sick if I even drank the coffee. I checked out and found an $9 "BED TAX" was added to my bill so now I was at $100 and probably could've stayed somewhere a little better. I didn't even question the so called " Bed Tax", just wanted to get the heck out of there. Would I stay again ..... No, I'd spend the extra $25-30 for something much better, even if I would only be in the room for 12 hours. Call me spoiled a little, oh well, I tried my first cheap hotel since I was in college and not again if I can help it.

« Staff is nice, Hotel needs work »

We have stayed at many Best Westerns across the country. This was by far the worst. Cigarette burns on the bedding was the biggest turn off. The staff was the only redeeming part of this stay. Best Western needs to put some money into this location or it will taint its brand.

« Best of the Best Western »

Immediately upon arriving at the property, it was obvious that this was going to be an enjoyable experience. This visit was the conclusion of a 6,000 mile east coast trip where we stayed exclusively at Best Western properties. Nothing could be improved upon at this property. Even the caulking around the bathroom fixtures looked professional. If I had 8 more thumbs, they would all be pointing UP!!

    « Only one perk »

... Only good part is they have smoking rooms in this hotel ... Lots of hookers and drugs. Nothing ever works in these rooms ... Somethings always broke ... Internet awful... Don't ever stay unless your dire need to smoke... Feel free listening to neighbors all night as the walls are like paper

    « disappointment »

The Thai Restaurant was excellent and the complimentary breakfast very nice. Staff seemed cheerful and willing to help but stretched too thin perhaps. They were always running from somewhere else to get to the front desk. Air quality in the room was very poor and the air conditioner noise kept us up throughout the night. Room was clean but not kept up - tv remote was broken, carpet seemed worn, shower had need of some repair. I couldn't recommend this to anyone.

    « Don't stay here.. »

Room clean, breakfast okay but air conditioner sounded like jet engine. Wife took bags out to car in morning and 6 or 7 shady looking people standing around and setting on hoods of cars. Spoke to my wife asking for ride in our car. She was frightened. So again clean room, staff polite but obviously in a bad neighborhood.

    « Ants! »

My family and I stayed at this hotel as a stopping point on a road trip due to its proximity to the highway. It was horrific from the start. The front desk gave my sister keys to her room, and when she let herself in (with her 3 children and ALL their bags), the room was already occupied! Back to the front desk. The hallways reeked of smoke, although our room didn't. However, there was a large spot of a crusty, orange substance on the bedspread. There was no elevator close to side doors to get luggage up to the second floor, so you have to go all the way back to the front area. After my sister got keys for a new room, we quickly went to dinner & returned to sleep before hitting the road in the morning. My sister woke up at 4 am with ants crawling all over her bed, herself and her 3 yr old son! When she went to the front desk, they wouldn't even issue her a refund. They said she had to call the "Best Western" 1-800 number that she booked it through. We were just looking for a clean, quiet hotel to sleep in while on the road. This was not it!

    « Ehh »

Stayed at BW due to an event in the area and all my usual Hiltons being booked up. This hotel is old and has interesting smells throughout. I will say this, the room was clean. It had some updates in the room but bathroom was very old. Checked for bugs and all turned out good. That's really where the good stops. As others mentioned, I felt very unsafe here as there were lots of shady people walking around and hanging out in the parking lot. Seemed to be more an living quarters for most guests. If there is nothing else available this is a viable option because it was at least clean, but I will try to never stay again especially with a family due to the uneasy feeling of what was happening in other rooms. In addition, "residents" liked to prop open the doors to the hallways and outside adding to the insecurity. Hotel did have security walking the halls in the evening though.

  • 2
    « From the beginning ....... »

From the beginning, I waited nearly 15 min. just to check in. The poor guy couldn't get off the phone, one call after another, to greet me and get checked in. He obviously needed assistance working the Front Desk. The toilet in my room was clogged and no one came to repair. The only pro, the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.

    « Boarding Hotel »

When I arrived it was late, there were individuals standing around in groups outside the hotel. I wasn't concern because we had 3 rooms and 4 men. If I was alone, I wouldn't have stayed. Nite: it houses long term refugee, and individuals on probation. Met two officers because they stopped my 21 year old son. Several women with children live there..Uncertain as to why? I should say, there is an arm guard that walks around the hotel. The room was neat and clean but it had a smell. Not strong but noticeable. For price paid, the room was adequate. The breakfast was nice, boil egg, cereal, fried eggs, sausage, yogurt, fruit ...remember your room number. To eat you must provide a room number. Note, I had to explain why that each room had 3 or 4 people in them. So that everyone could eat. The men really liked the work out room, a large Club in from top the hotel. They stated they would stay again just for the ability to go to the club and work out. The equipement was modern . If you need somewhere for 1 night, just passing through for a very low price this is the hotel. It's 2 stars ..

On the first morning of a week long stay, a leaking sink caused me to slip and fall in the bathroom. I severely twisted my knee and had a miserable stay. The bathroom was not ADA compliant, so I was unable to accommodate the twisted knee comfortably. They did not even offer to move us to a room more ADA compliant. The a/c was so noisy we could not hear the TV. The room smelled like a wet dog. The ice maker around the corner from the room was out of order so in order to get ice for the twisted knee we had to traipse across the hotel. The in house hotel restaurant never answered their phone. There was slamming doors at all hours of the day and night with yelling and screaming outside our window. Thankfully we were staying on the first floor as the hotel did not have an elevator. This was not up to the standards of most "Best Western" hotels in which I have stayed.

« Pain, Noise, and Locks »

One the first day there, my mother-in-law slipped on water that was leaking from their sink. She ended up twisting her knee and was on crutches the rest of our stay. (a whole week) Then there was soooo much noise and banging coming from above our room throughout the whole night and next day. Not to mention our cards stopped worked twice and we got locked out. I had to go AROUND the hotel just to get to the front to make them fix our cards! They have no wheelchairs on site, and their bathroom was not handicap capable. We regret staying at this hotel.

    « Non smoker »

Room smelled from heavy smoking. I was told at booking it was a non smoking room and found 2 ash trays in room. Room just seemed dirty. I was told at check out that they do have non smoking rooms and they are on the first floor. We were on the first floor and rooms had a clear no smoking symbol on the door. Maybe there is lack of organization. Not worth what I paid to stay. The breakfast was ok though.

    « comfortable room »

Stayed here on a cross country drive from California to Ontario. Was a good room with comfortable bed with a nice restaurant and bar attached.A nice place for road weary travelers. The fact it as a a bar/resto and pool is a great asset!

    « Nice rooms »

We booked this hotel for a family gathering. The hotel is older but was maintained well. Are rooms was nice. The Staff was friendly. The housekeeping lady blanca was so friendly when cleaning our room.

    « nice surprise »

didn't know what to expect when i pulled up to the lobby, got a pleasant surprise when we went to the room, very nice room and extremely nice and helpful employees i guess the only thing i could complain about is that the hotel is very large and easy to get lost the first time you step out of the room, not really a complaint, just a large hotel for only 2 floors

« Good for the price we paid »

We booked ahead in plenty of time and it ended up being about $55 per person each night. The price was just right for what we used. We were so busy at the convention we attended, that we didn't get to experience the pool or health center. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. Thank you.

    « Tired, older hotel. »

I want to preface this by saying that my actual hotel room is very nice. I am glad the updating was done on the room, because that is what is important, but the rest of the hotel experience is lacking a lot. My biggest peeve is the cigarette smoke. My room is non-smoking, but the halls and lobby are very smoky smelling. The fitness center is actually a pretty strange older club across the driveway from the hotel. I was surprised that the bathroom only has a pedestal sink, with no countertop to place items. I am here for 6 days and wanted to unpack, but the closet is missing the hangers, even though the little metal hanger holders are present. The sheets are a pilled and even though the bed is comfortable, the pilled sheets make the bed feel rough. The ice machine nearest my room does not work. The general manager is very personable, and the front desk workers are kind, but not terribly professional. But again, the room is very nice, with a microwave, refrigerator, lots of outlets, nice tv, etc.

« Best Western, Columbus, OH »

The A/C didn't work, and you won't want to eat breakfast there. The A/C motor made a terribly loud noise, so we couldn't use it, and so the room was hot and sticky. I went down and reported it to the front desk, and the gentleman there wrote it down on a a list he had that was about a whole page long, so I assume that there were lots of problems being reported about rooms there.

    « bad experience »

this is a best western minus. i was suprized it was that bad actually. the pool was ladders only no easy access. i booked for 6 days and only stayed 3 because i wanted to give them a chance but i gave up.the toilet did not work they snaked it everyday and cut the plastic rim and got sewer over the door and light switch and never cleaned it.

« Wonderful Last Minute Stay! »

After moving my daughter from Bowling Green, Ohio to Columbus, Ohio we needed a place to stay (not with her). We found this wonderful Best Western. This was by far the largest Best Western I have ever been to. The room was great, bathroom is a little small but the accommodations were great and the price was very reasonable. The room had a microwave and refrigerator which is always very handy. We were very wet from moving in the rain and tires around 12:30 am. Thanks so much Best Western, you saved the day!!!!

    « Excellent stay »

The hotel staff were very quick to address the issue in the room above us. It was graduation weekend and a bit of celebrating was going on, which I understand since we were in town for the same reason. That being said it does not give people the right to abuse other guests or the hotel. If you wouldn't do it at your home then don't do it at a hotel.

    « Dog show weekend »

The hotel ws the host hotel for the German Shepherd Dog Club. the staff helped in any way they could to make our stay nice and uneventful. We had everything we needed to make our stay nice and to have fun.

« Bad Setting, Bathrooms, Wifi, and Service »

My stay was horrible, the wifi cut in and out every 10 min, and took about 15min to return each time. I felt unsafe people were drinking outside of the hotel, screaming, and yelling all evening, I was very fearful of going outside and returning to my car. The parking lot was recently replaced and there was no cones where fresh tar was laid. Recently my family purchased a new car, we had to manually remove the tar from the tires, and bottom of the car. This caused minor damage. The bathrooms were horrific, the toilets do not flush normally, and took me and my family forever to figure out, after we figured it out, an hour passed until everything was flushed. I would highly recommend not staying at this location and choosing elsewhere.

    « Best Western Columbus »

Great stay, from check-in to check-out. No problems, great breakfast with very pleasant ambiance, considering it was a "free breakfast". Very convenient location to interstate, but away from highway noise. This was a free Rewards night, making my Best Western experience even better!!

« Not bad for the price »

We stay at this hotel each year for Rock on the Range. While not the most updated, fancy hotel, it's not bad for the price. We don't need fancy, expensive, as we only need a place to sleep. For the price, it works. Love having a mini fridge and microwave in the room, helps with the expenses. Also, close to restaurants, and best of all, close to Mapfre stadium.

« Excellent personnel and average price »

It was not the hotel it self, but its personnel what made me feel comfortable. Was looking for a place for a short stay and this one got average price. Good customer service and free breakfast. Internet was working good, and rooms are not the nicest ones but at least were clean.

    « ok stay »

stayed one night, nice room and clean bathroom. Quiet place but the lobby smelled like smoke and our room had a weird smell. they should replace the old ACs. its an ok hotel for the price you pay. Free breakfast in the morning was cold and depressing.

« The most unfriendly and unhelpful staff I've ever encountered at a hotel. »

Nice rooms and hotel, good location, just don't ask or expect a helpful, friendly staff because there isn't any. Rude staff at the front desk, cleaning staff puts their carts in the middle of the hallway and expect YOU to go around them, no matter how little room there is to do so.

« Choose not to stay »

I should have read reviews. I booked, and paid for, a one night stay. Since I choose not to stay, take this for what it's worth. I bet this place was nice in 1980. Upon arriving, my gut feeling told me to forfeit my $80 and move on. I went in and looked around. It had nice paint and was mostly clean. The clerk held my license while I inspected the room. It appeared OK, but I felt the place was "sketchy." I am not a "5 star" guy. I consider myself an Average Joe. I went to another part of town and for just a couple dollars more, got a wonderful room.

« Needs some updating, but nice for the price »

The hotel does need to be updated in decor The beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean. It's a good hotel if you are bringing kids as they have an extremely large pool! The AC caused a bit of a musty smell.

    « ok hotel. »

it wasn't awful. it took some fiddling to get the AC to work. NO free breakfast, not even cereal. The lobby looks very dark and kind of creepy. I didn't even want to go into the restaurant because it also looked dark and creepy. With neon like a casino. On the other hand, the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and quiet.

If you desire a gym in good working order and a fresh breakfast, don't stay here. The gym is not open on schedule posted, the equipment is old and not always powered up, and locker rooms are locked for members' use. The breakfast is not included, and is very ordinary, and no fresh or concentrated orange juice is served.. just Tang. It may be great for the Ohio state Football crowd, but not for marure travelers.

Would make an average Motel 6. Obviously started as some other property of much lower quality than expected at a Best Western. This should not be a Best Western and certainly not a Plus. Minus would be a better description

    « Decent stay »

Check in and out was easy. Staff was okay. The room was clean and quiet enough. The beds were comfortable. The A/C was either on or off as the thermostat didn't work. That was annoying. There was a little fridge and microwave. The additional breakfast for $5.95 downstairs in the Thai Lagoon was terrible. Go elsewhere since you have to spend the money anyway. It would not have been good if it were included. The staff there was nice, but the food was not.

« Excellent Location, less than Excellent Peace »

I needed a hotel near the Worthington area that was under $100 with amenities. We had a few things going on that weekend in the area, were touring some Columbus sites and decided we needing to stay one night. I try to stick with Best Western since I am a rewards member whenever I can and this one listed lots of nice things and the area was perfect. I had a fast and easy check in, the bed was comfy, the room was to our expectations and everything worked just fine. We ended up only using the fridge out of all the things listed that were available so I cannot comment on the rest such as the microwave, pool, fitness center, breakfast, or business center. Their set up is strange since many parts to the hotel are not directly under the management of the hotel like the restaurant and pool and apparently the club... Be aware that this one of those set up like a motel where you enter your room from a common door from the outside and it isn't covered that well so like us, you may get wet in the rain and I just so happened to be in a formal dress :( We were not anywhere near the pool/front desk/or restaurant so keep that in mind if that sort of thing bothers you. You could pay a special guest fee for the all you can eat breakfast buffet at the thai restaurant there (we were going to eat there when we thought it was a Thai breakfast and my husband decided not too when we found out it was more like your standard). We forgot swim suits so we didn't bother with the pool but it looked huge from the outside since it is for some local swim club. The one and only problem we had was the blaring bass coming from where ever the club was. Apparently some folks rented it and thought they had it til 2am but really it was supposed to be only midnight. We starting complaining at about 11pm for the noise. At first we were told it was not something they could control and that they would be out by midnight. Shortly after midnight my husband went to the front desk to complain that they weren't done. That's when the apparent confusion set in from the ones who rented the space. The cops on duty resolved our problem by asking the front desk to comp our room which was above expectation but yet much appreciated. The music stopped shortly after my husband's arrival and front desk called to confirm that the music was done. Very well handled finally and probably not an everyday occurrence. Sometimes it just pays to be a little forward. Overall it was a nice place at a great location we just had a few bumps in our stay. The staff was very nice.

    « Great location »

Quiet & lovely stay at this Hotel. Kids had a blast in the Junior Olympic size pool as well the exercise room. Great location (close to highway for downtown, airport or university and close to everything that you might need (food, shopping, entertainment, etc.)

    « Good Value »

We've stayed here many times- comfy beds and large, well equipped rooms. Very convenient area- near freeways and Worthington. The immediate area has really declined over the past 20 years- not the hotels fault. Some of the guests are not so good, drawn by the good rates. We feel safe, some others might not.

    « Less for more »

Our room was fine but overpriced. The biggest problem was the party overhead. Kids stomping over our heads till at least 1:30; we called the desk twice and my husband also went to the desk, they didn't seem able to do anything. "Breakfast available" means that you pay for a lackluster buffet that is not as good as some I've had free. I asked the manager to comp our breakfast but was told the food was a separate entity, even though inside the hotel. I won't visit Best Western again!

« Best Bang for the Buck!! »

Staff was excellent! Rooms were very clean. The moment you walk in you smell bleach. A sign this room has been cleaned. The only thing missing is a continental breakfast. However, all of the other amenities make up for that. I enjoyed my stay. Out of all the hotels my wife and I have stayed at so far, this is the one she had no complaints.

    « Fantastic Facilities »

Undoubtably the best budget motel/hotel so far. A large public heated pool, jacuzzi, a very large gym with 'you name it' weight machines, an indoor running track, treadmills, large sauna. The first night there was very rowdy guests staying in the room above us who were jumping and banging around until after midnight. The next two nights were much quieter. It is a busier motel/hotel complex. The indoor pool and gym appears to be open for general public use too so it can get a bit noisy with younger youths hanging around but they didn't bother us. Clean bedding and room. Breakfast included. Non-smoking. Fair price for level of accommodation. We would definitely stay again.

« I have stayed in hotels in 3rd world countries that were better than this! »

I had friends coming in from out of town who booked a room at this property for a concert. I decided to book an additional room for myself as I live clear across the city from this hotel, and the concert venue. What a horrible mistake. The hotel is run down, dirty and the halls reeked of marijuana smoke. I spoke to the front desk staff repeatedly about my complaints. Their response was very simple. The hotel has a no refunds policy for any reason. The desk clerk stated that even if the hotel caught fire or flooded, the management/owners would not refund guests that had to move elsewhere for the night. During the night there were gangs of teenagers running the halls pulling the fire alarms and pounding on guest room doors. The night desk clerk said there was nothing he could do other than if the Columbus Police were called by a guest. He again stated that the hotel has a no refund policy and that at night (after 9pm) have a no guest intervention program. I asked the clerk what that meant and he replied that for the safety of the staff, management has advised the desk staff that they are not to ask any guest to leave, or quiet down or to confront any guest due to the guests bad behavior. The only time the staff will intervene is if the situation gets so intolerable that the Columbus Police are called by a guest. the desk clerk further stated that unless the building is being robbed or is on fire he was under orders not to call anyone, including the police. The room was dirty. The linens were stained and the sheets on the bed had tears. The carpet in the room was stained and in several areas as you stepped on the carpet it was sticky from soda or other stains. The bathroom was an even bigger disaster. The sink was clogged and did not drain. The toilet intermittently ran all night and the shower curtain had mold growing on it. I left the hotel after the concert. I stayed in my own home and just lost my money on the room. I wasnt going to risk my life or safety on this place. As an added note, the photos posted by hotel management are YEARS old. They are totally inaccurate as to the conditions/amenities at this property.

« worst experience in life »

The employees where rude, they tried to confuse me with lie after lie, I was yelled at for entering a room by the people who clean and handle janitorial duties . I know who I will book with next time. Its was too much for what I dealt with

« Pot Smoke Every where Really ? »

this is a party Hotel. Pot Smoke And Smell Everywhere in The Hallways. and wild people running around the hall ways and Banging on doors until .3am the 2 Night of my stay i had to get a new hotel room at the Red Roof Inn just so i could get some Sleep. and the best western still charged my charge card for 2 Nights not fair

    « Smokey »

Booked a nonsmoking room. Arrived later in the evening and had to walk through a cloud of smoke as I went in to check-in. Parked near rear of hotel close to entrance to the nonsmoking corridor. Approaching the door the strong smell of cigarette smoke hit me, it was worse as I entered the building, even the nonsmoking hallway smelled. Thankfully I was only there for one night.

    « bad »

replace the whole thing buy hiring a staff that does not get smart mouth with the guest and be more help full then just pointing s finger don't tell gust that the pool is into the same building when its not don't tell when 11 o'clock and it's 9 and not even in same place have to walk into outside cross drive way to another place

    « Weekend stay »

Worth the money.Looks older and used from the outside but clean and secure.Centrally located for venues in town. The room was very clean and everything worked fine. The beds were definetly good for a nights rest.TV was a little on the fuzzy side but had a good selection of movie and local channels. As with most hotel stays you are primarily there to sleep. We definetly got that at a reasonable price. Will stay there again when in town,

« NEVER staying here again - AWFUL »

I stay at Best Western hotels at least once a month in my travels, so when I had the opportunity to continue to support the brand, I took it. I booked in advance and when it came time to check in, that happened without a hitch. It's a large property, though I was told it was nearly empty as it's slow season. We had to drive around the whole property into a dark parking lot. As soon as we stepped into the building, everything smelled of marijuana. We walked to the room and went inside, where the marijuana smell wasn't as prominent. My wife told me we're not staying here the other two nights after this. I walked to the lobby to get extra towels and noticed that in the adjacent set of rooms (separated by a door), and in the next set after, there was no smell of marijuana - some wet paint, but nothing beyond that. There seemed to be a lot of space on the long walk to the lobby that didn't smell at all. After I got the towels, I mentioned to the desk clerk of the smell. Normally in a hotel a person may say "Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't know, let me move you to another room," or something to that effect. Here, at the Best Western Plus, the clerk says "Well, we do have smoking rooms." Just like that. I took the towels and proceeded to try to get my money back. Of the three nights we pre-paid and of the one night we were going to stay, the hotel said they would only refund one night. So I paid for three nights, stayed one, and was refused a fair refund. This has put a blemish not only on this hotel, but on the brand and moving forward I'll seek to stay at another brand.

    « Give the guestroom a chance »

Our guestroom was WAY nicer than the exterior and the interior hallways of the hotel. It was in a convenient location, however, there is no free breakfast offered. The neighborhood isn't upscale, but it's only about 10 min from Polaris Pkwy.

    « Good Value »

Large, clean rooms at a very good rate. Beds are very comfortable. Very convenient area, but the Continent/161 area, in general, has declined quite a bit in recent years, Biggest downside of hotel is very rude female desk clerk. Second encounter with same person. She should be terminated.

« Would not stay again »

I have stayed in this hotel in the past and it was fine. This time however, I had a very different experience. The non-smoking room reeked of smoke. There was a shouting match in the hallway for a full 90 minutes at 5 am. The bed was so uncomfortable and hard. A large insect was crawling around the dresser. The Wi-Fi was so spotty, it would go out after about 2 minutes. Very disappointed and would not stay again.

    « Look elsewhere »

I have never been disappointed with a Best Western until this stay. The room reminded me of a room filled with 'hand me down' college apartment furniture. The room was clean - but my socks were dry dirty from walking on the carpet.

    « Average Hotel »

Hotel is old and needs updating. No complementary breakfast included. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Our room needed a new mattress. No coffee in lobby, so you need to purchase breakfast in restaurant (located adjacent to lobby) or drink the awful room coffee.

    « Unprofessional Staff »

The hotel itself is dated. The room was clean. The front desk staff upon check in was friendly, he just didn't know how to process reward points. Upon check out I never got a receipt so I have no clue what I was charged until I check my bank statement.

    « Mr & Mrs Gillum »

It's ok for one night, the staff was friendly they gave us the wrong room when we told them they fixed the problem at the moment, I think I like it , clean room, the bed wasnt confortable because the matres had a plastic cover and the bathroom have an special chair like for handicap people but in general not bad

« Smoke filled hallways remenicent of 80s horror show. »

On our way to Az we decided to call it quits in Columbus Ohio. Although the rate was decent cigarette smoke filled the hallways blurring the difference between smoking and non smoking rooms. Also no complimentary breakfast was a big dissapointment.

    « Better than I thought... »

I had read the reviews before arriving at the hotel...they were not that good, and I was a bit apprehensive. My friend and I were in Columbus for the horse show. Our room was a pleasant surprise. It was not fancy, but clean abs convenient. The staff were friendly and all went well. I would stay here again.

« Decent place, not bad not good, ok for one night »

I booked it from priceline, got a king room suite, had a odor like it used to be a smoking room and now it is non-smoking but still has that faint smoke odor present. Was not horrible smell but it was there. Room is ok, looks like it could use an update, painting might seal up the odor. The place is ok, and real close to 71, probably would go somewhere else next time. Bed was clean, TV was good, room was very large.

    « Don't stay »

I was surprised after I booked two rooms they actually told I was a no show on one room for one night. So I had to plead argue and try not to be charged for a room that they said I reserved and didn't show up! Well guess what? They charged me! I had two rooms : a room in my sons name for Friday and my name for Saturday. Plus a second room in my name for the same Friday and Saturday ( I paid for both) then I stayed Sunday too! It isn't the best area. The pool was closed every time we went to use it. It was not worth the savings.

    « lodging »

Hotel has a bad odor and most of the staff are not friendly. Breakfast is not offered free. Hotel may be in process of remodeling. Hotel offers non-smoking rooms but still has strong smoke odor all over the building. It does not allow early check in for health reasons.

« Good Location with a good price »

Easy in and out from I-71, near I-270 in northern Columbus. Convenient location for OSU campus. Hotel is what you would expect for a Best Western. Nothing fancy, internet is free, no breakfast included. Rooms were quiet and dark at night which was nice. Room was clean, bed comfortable. A fine stay. Several chain restaurants (Skyline Chili, Bob Evans, Wendys within walking distance.) Polaris and Gemini areas a 10 minute drive. Carpets look like they are going to be replaced in the hallways soon as the carpet was there. Good location and Good price

« no cup cakes or we will kick you out »

hurt feelings , did not know that i would be kicked out for cupcakes and sing happy birthday to you to a 5 year old ,this made me not want to return back to this hotel i tell all my friends this is a no no

    « Convenient location. »

Its average. Main plus is if you can get a good price. Convenient location. Not memorable but perfectly fine / adequate for a short stay. Clean, no complaints, we were running around most of the day, slept there. Not noisy.

    « Best Western »

Overall the hotel was average. Nothing stood out to me but nothing turned me away either. If you like to hit the work out room then this isn't the place for you. Very small work out room with hardly any weights. The room was average and the hotel itself was quiet. Their breakfast isn't as good as other places and didn't have much of a variety.
