    « Quite Pleased but..... »

First impressions of the hotel were very pleasing. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was well cleaned and comfortable. The spa area was well staffed and facilities were of a good standard. Having booked in for two nights we really enjoyed the breakfast on the first, it was very well presented and have to say it was delicious......BUT the second morning was disappointing. Half way through the allotted breakfast time there was a shortage of main breakfast items. I had to leave the dining area having a couple of slices of bacon and scrambled egg, Not only were the tomatoes burnt there but we waited over half an hour for food to be cooked but it just did not arrive. We were told they were sorry but they were very busy. There was a reluctant apology at the reception desk but by this time I think staff had got the message that customers were less than happy. Hopefully this was a one off disaster in kitchen. That said and the hope this would be the case I would return.

    « Not the best »

Stayed ear last night on a room only basis when we first booked It was £52.70 for one night . We then enquired about adding breakfast which got told another £70 ? I found this very expensive at £35 per head shocking to be honest . When we arrived I asked a very helpful receptionist how much was breakfast she said £10 per person which I found very strange considering book on line and its £35 per person that's a massive rip off . We then booked it at £10 We turned up for breakfast at 9 am but only to find out no breakfast stuff ready because the hotel was fully booked so in the end didn't get any breakfast at all rather poor for a 4 star hotel .

    « Cheap weekend break »

Room very dusty on one side of bedside drawers. Window not very secure causing blinds to move some. It took 3 separate visits to the restaurant before they realized we existed. Book evening meal upon arrival, no record. Breakfast, same. Following EM, booked, same. Last day no food left got bored of waiting. Swimming pool, had nice swim.

    « Strange carry on. »

Stopped at the hotel only recently having stayed a few times before. It is handily situated for the motorway and has a good sized car park. Clean room and good breakfast. I visited the spa on both days and here was the problem. On both occasions the changing room had a female cleaner but no sign on the door to advise this. Not only this but she seemed to be ensconced in conversations with all and sundry rather than coming in, cleaning, and leaving. Many people sat around waiting for her to go rather than stripping off ( there are only two private cubicles) but she didn't appear to be in any hurry! Good gym facilities otherwise.

    « Excellent value »

We booked a deal through Saga of £99 for 2 nights B&B with dinner for 2 included the first night. The room was clean, spacious with a comfortable bed (firm which suited us) and over bath shower. There was plenty of hot water at a good pressure. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of options. We went for the hot option which was plentiful and tasty. The evening meal was perfectly adequate and for the £21.95 limit gave us a good choice of meal. The leisure centre had a sizeable pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The staff in all areas were pleasant and helpful. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the two day stay and would definitely stay again at this price.

« If you want a great stay close to Leeds »

This is a nice hotel with friendly staff and nice environments. I received a very friendly and professional meeting at check in with all information needed. Nice, clean and comfy rooms with great beds and pillows. Traditionally English breakfast with a good variety of different food and really good coffee. The only thing that wasn't so good was the health club, that was very messy in the dressing rooms. /Jörgen

« DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR VEHICLE BROKEN INTO! »

yself and my partner stayed at this hotel last weekend for one night. We booked a standard double which, we were told had been refurbished. On arrival, the room certainly did not look refurbished and was dirty. Someone had been shaving in the shower and it had not been cleaned. The floor had not been vaccumed. Everything was just grubby. After being in the hotel for 40 minutes we discovered that our vehicle had been broken into (parked in the hotel car park). The side window had been smashed and there was glass everywhere. We phoned the police who informed us that this was a regular ocurrance at this hotel. We informed the person on reception and was told that we should have parked closer to the hotel! The hotel management seemed totally uninterested and they refused to let us see the CCTV. We hoped things would improve the next morning when we went down for breakfast but this was also a disappointment. The so called fresh fruit was just tinned and the cooked breakfast was tasteless. The glasses and cutlery were dirty. We had to wait ten minutes for a waiter to come with coffee. The key card didn't work on the door so every time we returned to the room, we had to go back down to reception to get another one that worked. We couldn't wait to leave this hotel and will certainly never be going back. On our way out of the car park we also saw loads of other glass from cars that had been broken into. It definitely wasn't worth the £90 we paid!

« Lovely hotel with excellent staff »

Like a previous reviewer my partner and I took advantage of a Groupon voucher deal which was a two night stay with breakfast and dinner. We stayed on the ground floor in room G3 which was comfortable and had all the amenities one might expect (a few toiletries, clean bathroom - good shower, tea/ coffee making facilities, hair dryer, iron, TV etc. We grew oddly attached to our room but it does need an update as although perfectly clean and well presented we felt as though we had gone back in time somewhat. However this didn't take away from our stay - would even stay in the room again. Dinner was a choice off a set menu for Groupon guests which was very limited. I'm a vegetarian and they had one veggie option per night for main meal all of which had cheese so no luck if you're vegan/ lactose intolerant. However I explained to our waiter and was able to chose something else. During breakfast and dinner the staff were brilliant and breakfast itself was great - a large selection buffet style with helpful and attentive staff. Never had a problem finding a space for the car and parking is free so long as you enter your reg details at reception. Reception staff on check in were good however like a previous reviewer has stated check out was badly managed with one member of staff for most of the time and eventually another coming to her rescue. We waited about 20 minutes to check out but others said they had waiting half an hour and were understandably annoyed. Once we had got to the staff member they were again helpful, apologetic and friendly. Overall a great stay at the hotel and we would definitely come again for the brilliant staff alone! We only gave four stars due to the lack of choice on the Groupon menu, the chaos when checking out and the tired rooms. If the hotel could amend these details we wouldn't hesitate to give it 5 stars.

« Whats not to like »

Went as a couple during weekend 11/12 th November on a groupon db&b deal that afforded excellent value for money. Had read several poor reviews before but found them to be very misleading once we got there. The receptionist was helpful and reminded us to book the car in for parking. Big car parks for a big hotel. There were plenty of obliging staff around at dinner and breakfast. Room was on ground floor near leisure centre and was fine [e.g was clean, bed was comfy, had spare pillows, was warm, nicely tiled bathroom with soap/spare toilet roll. Tea coffee and hairdryer provided in room as expected]. Used pool facilities that were fine too but close at 7.00pm If we were to be picky it would be that the 'table de hote' was a bit limited for choice with the optional upgrade to a la carte a bit expensive as were drinks plus the queue for check out was long [could do with an extra receptionist at the expected peak times] It might be a good idea to leave long before the 11.00 am deadline

« Evening before the seminar »

Hotel easy to find at the end of the M606. Reception and check in very efficient (beware you must key in your car reg.). Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the usual self service buffet style was was well organised and well presented.

« Food Served at Boxing Event »

I would have given one star however as I only attended an event here I cant comment on the accommodation! So we paid £35 each for a sit down three course meal and to watch the boxing event so if you say the event would cost around £10 from previous experience that leaves £25 for the so called food that was thrown on our table I say thrown as it really was! one small onion bhaji one samosa and a tiny piece of chicken for starters cooked from frozen cost hotel no more than a £1 at a guess, the main was a dollop of chicken curry on a large plate of rice and a cake for afters appalling really for what we paid!

    « Strange Experience »

We arrived and were very pleased with the look of the hotel, we went to check in all good nice young man on the reception but we had booked dinner in the restaurant only to be advised we could not use the restaurant due to them having a coach trip in ??? they wanted us in eat on our own in a small cordoned off area in the reception/bar to which I said no so they said they would arrange for a table in the restaurant. We went down to dinner at 7pm has they has a coach party in at 7.30pm there were 50or 6 empty tables so not sure why they did not want us to eat in the restaurant? I have emailed the hotel regarding this matter but had no response from the restaurant manager as promised. The room was nice and clean lovely bath room. We used the pool which was great but needed lots of bulbs replacing making it a little dark. We had a great breakfast must say all the staff were friendly and helpful both in the restaurant and the health club. But when we came to check out it took a while as the presented us with the bill and it was pre paid for the room Dinner and Breakfast nobody seamed to be able to confirm we had paid it was an offer of the Cedar Court site which we have used on a few occasions before you have to pay upfront and it non refundable I did not like having to wait around while they tried to find out if we had paid a little embarrassing really, I did received a reply to my email regarding this but it was just the same as the morning it happened not too much concern for our embarrassment at having to wait around after all they had confirmed our booking at the time and sent a welcome email a little disappointing never had this problem at any of their other hotels when we have done this type of booking. Still waiting to hear from the restaurant manager about why he did not wants us in the restaurant? shame things like this do spoil your experience of their very nice hotel. The average rating is for the mistakes made by the hotel not the hotels its self which I would have given a 4.

    « Great Value Hotel-Great service! »

Stayed here on a leisure break with my wife for two nights on a Dinner (first night), bed & breakfast basis-pre-booked at an exceptionally competitive rate. First of all, location wise it is easy to find and ideally situated for access to all major cities such as Leeds (Harrogate/York Etc.,) and of course, the beautiful Yorkshire Moors. On checking in we were greeted by an extremely friendly receptionist-Gemma- whom was super efficient, polite and informative- a perfect welcome to the hotel! After being allocated a ground floor room, we were a little unhappy with it due to being adjacent to a large family grouping in adjoining rooms to ours which had several children continuously opening & closing their respective doors-obviously excited and wanting to see/be in each others rooms- for us, the prospect of this continuing throughout our stay did not sit well- so went back to reception to ask for a move. Again, the effervescent Gemma saw us and without hardly having to explain the situation, intuitively knew what we were about to ask and immediately up graded our room to one on the top floor (4th!) away from the family rooms and in a much quieter & peaceful location. Without any fuss or problem, Gemma got us re-allocated to get our stay under way! From this point, we relaxed into the hotel, although very busy (Thursday afternoon), all the staff encountered were extremely friendly and obliging making us feel at ease at being guests there. Our dinner that evening was superb, expecting something of perhaps, a restrictive menu and budget for our food, as on an inclusive Dinner deal-nothing was further from the truth with the menu very inviting and the portions and quality excellent-all again, served by impeccable, friendly staff- a meal thoroughly enjoyed and of exceptional value-so much so, we opted to dine there again the second night which we gladly paid for due to the value and enjoyment of the food the previous evening. We were not disappointed! Good work, the Cedar Court-Bradford.! The Hotel boasts great leisure facilities for free use by hotel guests and cannot-in our experience-do enough for you to make your stay an enjoyable experience. I would say that the hotel, being situated where it is, at junctions of Motorways and Ring roads, is not in any way your cosy, off the beaten track, country retreat, but for a cosmopolitan, modern, hotel break for, if like us, you are using as a base to visit the local areas, you could do no worse than to book here- especially if available on the pre-booked, discounted deal we greatly enjoyed.

« Weekend Stop Emmerdale Tour »

Bed in the room we had was uncomfortable and the evening meal was only small portion and not what expected for a roast dinner. Lack of seating area in main foyer for guests to sit. Certainty would not stop there again.

    « Leisure facilities »

We got a groupon offer for afternoon tea and use of there leisure facilities we had a lovely afternoon using steam room sauna and pool you can use the gym but we were relaxing we had a lovely time and afternoon tea with champagne was beautiful and the staff were all lovely nothing too much trouble would recommend

    « Average visit »

I stayed here just for the night with my partner as we were visiting friends. I booked through Trivargo and payed £50 which I though was reasonable. There is ample parking outside the hotel. The reception staff were friendly enough. We didn't eat here but had a few drinks in the bar area, not a great selection of beers but we were heading out anyway . The room was a good side and free tea/coffee facilities and water in the room. The shower was good and over all the room was accommodating for our needs. I probably wouldn't pay more than I did but it is a decent hotel for a short visit.

« Great Hotel, Great Location »

Very accessible straight off the motorway. Ample Free Parking. Approx £6 taxi ride to centre of Bradford. Spacious Room. Very good breakfast. All the staff were very friendly. Made use of the complimentary Spa facility & swimming pool. Reasonable prices at the Bar for draught beer but when it is extended opening hours we have found that at this and other Cedar Court Hotels that the gas tends to go off at 11pm for draught beer and it is then just expensive bottles only available.

« Group visit after Emmerdale the tour »

Location good from the point of view of easy access by road. My husband and I were part of a group visit following the Emmerdal Tour (Excellent by the way!!)Our room was on the second floor and was reasonably well appointed. Negative points - only one shampoo for 2 people and no soap bar for the bath - not easy to reach the "on wall" dispenser if you are sitting in the bath! Very little loo paper on the roll and only a part used roll as spare. OK we were only there for one night, but I think a hotel of that standard could do better with the bathroom goodies. Our visit did include an evening meal for which we made our choice of the various courses on arrival. Menu seemed to be quite appetising but on arrival the quality told another tale. Problems : - Some of the prawn cocktails had to be returned - no dressing The roast beef was as tough as old boots - no mustard available . No alternative "garnishes offered ( eg Horseradish ) Herb crusted fish - could not discern any "crust "- but the fish was tasty. The veg portions were miniscule - broccoli underdone and minute portion of mash ( ? instant ) Desserts - presentation left a lot to be desired, the profiteroles just dropped in a bowl with a very small amount of chocolate sauce. The only decent dessert was the sponge and even that had to be returned due to insufficient custard sauce. To end on a more positive note, the breakfast was very good value and very tasty, very good choices as well. I would have been interested to see what the general menu was like, as ours was fixed for the proup (50 + people) Speed of service was fair, considering that the dining room was quite full with other visitors as well as our group.Table staff and reception staff very helpful. Not keen on the bar prices though !!!

« I do not understand how they can be so careless of their brand. »

I was given a room with 3 beds crammed in, it was clean but a little scruffy with switches that didn't work. Too near the lift but i guess someone has to be. The shower was quite low on the wall but adequate, just. I was attending an evening event at the hotel. With the exception of reception, the staff were all inept, inexperienced, untrained, clueless, careless and some were even brainless i think. Food and drink was served slowly, randomly. Bar staff did not know how to do anything or even that Rioja was a wine. Then someone showed up with a dishwasher tray and started reaching over all of us to collect empty glasses. I will not go back.

    « Enjoyable Stay »

The décor is a bit dated. However the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The executive double room was comfortable and reasonably spacious with a good wifi connection. The bar was a little soulless but no less so than you would expect from this type of hotel. I enjoyed the restaurant menu which had an Asian flavour. For a business stay I would recommend the hotel.

    3
    « Soulless »

Two nights of boredom, Mediocre food super slow bar service, Needs to be a bit more cosy like sitting in a barn , Staff were friendly and the room was OK but just the rest of the stay was poor especially the car parking , Make sure you check in the correctly as it's a night mare if you don't !!!

    3
« Cedar Court Hotel Bradford »

Stayed one night. Staff very nice but very slow at dinner. It was not the most enjoyable dining experience room was spacious. We had a room for 3 but only 2 tea bags and very little milk. Only 2 bottles of water given as well. May stay ahain if down in the area again.

    3
    « Where's the soap? »

Stayed here for a couple of nights on a work trip in August. The thing that sticks in my mind is that no soap is provided for the bathroom sink. Not a handwash stuck to the wall, not an individual bar, nothing but the shower gel in the bath. It was not just me, my colleague didn't have soap either! I've never known anything like it, even in the cheapest b&b! Its even odder, when this hotel thinks of itself as a step up from your Travelodge or Premier Inn. The rooms are nice and the health club very good. The restaurant is a little upmarket though, where your steak literally comes with 6 chips! I wouldn't have dinner here if you are hungry. Breakfast was decent though. Overall, it is fairly decent, just bring your own soap!

    3
    « Business stop-over ... »

Another stop-over at this chain hotel. I got an inwards (towards the court yard) facing room, which is always quiet. The room was clean and tidy and the breakfast busy, lots of German visitors. The morning reception colleagues need re-training. There was a queue (at 8pm so not surprised) for check-out, but one of the printers had broken so one of the cashiers could not print invoices. Instead of asking his stranded customer to just await a minute until his fellow cashier was available to print a receipt, and then serve other customers, he kept the customer stood at the desk for nearly 5 mins. The queue continued to grow. Then, when he was able to pass the customer over, he preceded to serve the growing queue by simply saying, curtly, "you don't want a receipt do you?". No "sorry to keep you waiting", or "did you have a good stay". A common-sense approach would have not have up-set so many frustrated people in the queue.

« Not what it used to be »

It used to be that the Ceder Court was one of the best hotels in Bradford. Unfortunately it's standards have dropped and although the price is low, so is the experience. Breakfast is £10 per person. That's £40 a family...in Bradford! The car park seems to be patrolled by people paid by the ticket, I presume to stop all the tourists checking out where the motorway ends. The worst was that when we told check in the room was pre-paid we were asked "what makes you think that". My wife was astounded by such attitude (and we had to show proof). Ceder court used to be a rose growing from the surrounding manure. Seems that in the end even roses die and decay.

« Rip Off Parking, Tired Looking `hotel »

My husband stopped here on business. Whilst the hotel was tired looking the bed was comfortable enough. On check in he was asked to give his car registration which he did on the form. Subsequently received £100 parking eye demand. Why bother asking for the registration details if they have no intention of doing anything with them? Pure extortion attempt. We would never book with this hotel again and suggest that others should be wary of doing so.

    3
    « Ok for a night »

Quite busy when arrived so waiting over 10 mins while the one receptionist dealt with a q. Room tired but functional. Door open when first arrived, assumed it had not been closed following cleaning as needed a good push to fully pull to. As it has been a long journey decided to go for room service.....no answer on both room service line or reception for 40 mins alternated between ringing out and engaged. So travelled down to reception to be directed to the bar to order room service ( with a £3.50 charge for my effort). Breakfast good - plenty of choice. More staff needed to keep it running smoothly. I'd ok for an overnight stay but prob wouldn't want to do do more than one in a row.

    1
    « Car park charges »

Cedar court are using Parking Eye to charge people using the hotel. I have had meetings at this hotel for years but never again. The parking fines are not legal do not pay them. They will never take you to court because they have to prove a loss and clearly can not. Apparently they started last May with this scam, their prices are already extortionate and now they are trying to scam the car park charges. You have to register your car on their system to avoid the charges, today was the first day they had a notice on the table telling you to do this. If you receive a fine do not pay as it is not a legal charge.

« Fantastic service from Josh..... »

Having spent several hours on the motorway, my colleagues and I arrived quite late in the evening for an overnight stay. On checking in, my first impressions were not great - but this was very quickly turned around by the service we received in the dining area by Josh. Despite having obviously had a stressful shift (the table adjacent to us clearly felt the need to blame Josh personally for all the hotel's shortcomings), Josh was professional, personable and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he made sure that our restaurant experience was enjoyable. If I was just reviewing Josh, I would have rated my trip 5*. Cedar Court Management take note - this young man is an asset to you and has a bright future ahead in the hospitality industry

« Not what you would expect! »

My husband and I attended a party in one of the function rooms, around 60 people attended. The problem from the start of the evening was the total lack of organisation with the staff, arguing between themselves with only one member of staff on the bar!!! The buffet was as the organiser had requested but I feel its a great shame when something as basic as a top up of fresh chips takes 3 requests and half an hour to complete. For a best western plus I would have thought thast cups and saucers would have been more appropriate than mugs dirty stained ones at that, yes a dishwasher doesn't get all the stains off but surely these are basic procedures that should be checked, it wasn't the fault of the very young waiting staff but surely of the management . Final moan the dance floor...more like odd pieces of a jigsaw held together with black electrical tape, gaps everywhere so that anyone with heels got caught and easily tripped up! All in all very shoddy unorganized and not what you would expect. I would like to add a positive we stayed over and the room on the 3 floor was very pleasent, spotless lots of space and a view of the gardens.

    1
« Not great on all fronts »

I should have really took notice of the reviews here. Clearly there's something not right with the hotel, the reviews both positive and negative are generally valid. I checked in to the hotel no problems at all, I read reviews of the receptionists not being attentive, far from it. They were both courteous and polite, however that's where the positive aspects diminished. The place itself is a little tired, the hotel looks like it was once quite grand however I'm late by around 5/7 years. The lift is noisy and slow, the hallways dark and frankly unpleasant. My room was not inviting, dated, worn and tired. The bathrooms aroma was unpleasant and the floor dirty. The whole experience was not a pleasant one when I arrived in the room. The bar/eating area has no atmosphere and lacks any real appeal. The beer is £4 a pint! The food is limited and to be honest over priced. I went for the pizza plus three additional toppings at £1 per topping, however there was one topping missing. They took the pizza away and offered to "add another" to which I said that it would burn. I was assured that this would not be the case. . . Guess what? It was burned! Not great. I won't be staying here again and would strongly recommend you read the reviews before spending your money or your organisations money.

    « Enjoyable stay »

We have just enjoyed a stay at this hotel we had a late check in which was not a problem the room was clean and comfortable family of 4 I double bed single bed and a cot. More then enough space. A really good hot powerful shower which you do not always get in hotels we did not use the restaurant facilities but we enjoyed the pool for a morning swim. Which they provide extra towels if needed. We will definitely stay again.

    « Beds needs replacing »

I stayed at the cedar court hotel and was with a tour. as the tour guide i of course wanted all to be happy with the accommodation. Other than a few minor complaints regarding the safe's in the rooms and some of the beds being very uncomfortable, And no german channels on the television. All was good, the food was good. Good wifi which was free. the health club was nice too. The rooms were a little dated but overall it was a good 3 night stay. Some of the staff were good and some were not so good, The hotel did seem a little short staffed. The man at the reception desk was by himself a lot during our stay and did seem to have a lot to do, even so he was very accommodating and helpful to us so a big thank you from us for your patience and being so helpful. The staff in leisure were very nice. some of the staff in the restaurant weren't so nice and a little rude to be honest which was a let down, especially as one of them was apparently the duty manager. He was rude and quite short with some of our tour group. He did look busy but it is unprofessional to take out your obvious frustrations on guests at the hotel. overall everyone enjoyed our trip and stay at cedar court.

    « Dated rooms »

Stayed for a conference, Room decor was dated No plugs near the bed so charging devices whilst using them was an issue Bed was soft in areas and firmer in other, not comfortable to sleep on. Water pressure was poor in the shower One positive is that there is free wifi available

« Not sure about this »

Good group on deal to include breakfast and dinner. Upgraded the room but was furious to find a number 2 still in the toilet when we went to our room. Ruined my whole visit. House keeping did try to make it up to me, but I wouldn't expect that in a caravan park let alone 4 star hotel. Room not made up in last day, and we even checked out early. The hotel didn't even ask why. As for breakfast, the staff worked hard but we had to ask and wait a number of times for breakfast items. Very good position for m606 and on a bus route to the city centre

    « A hotel as bad as Bradford ! »

ive never stayed in a worse hell hole ! and the hotel defiantly matches the city, the staff have about as much ability as a tortoise on it back, I made a complaint on the night of my stay but I've had no response, can only imagine it was filed in a very large pile with the rest.

« Fairly average, good value! »

Nothing special, average for rooms, meals, gym etc at a below aveage cost so reasonable value for money just don't expect the ritz. I would recommend asking for a refurbished room and note the gym closes early.

« Bad, Bumpy Bed Blights Break »

This is the first Terrible rating i have ever given anywhere. On arrival the hotel looked very presentable and the staff at check in were helpful, friendly, efficient and well organised, Since i did not know the PIN for my business debit card they took payment 'manually'. The hotel's communal areas were smart, modern and clean, This is where the good news ends i'm afraid. The room was a good size looked fine on the surface but a closer look revealed all sorts of issues, bathroom ventilation was non-existent, carpets that were in need of a good clean, snapped curtain closers and pillows that had seen better days. but the worst problem of all was the bed. The quality of which was beyond belief. there was no spring left in it nor was there any padding and the spring core was so buckled sleeping on corrugated iron sheets would have been more comfortable. at 5 am i had had enough and complained to reception who simply told me that the mattresses were "all the same" At this point i looked online for another nearby hotel but i couldn't actually book one for that night which with hindsight was silly as waking up time was approaching. After a mediocre breakfast i properly complained and was told that a mattress topper would be put on the bed, which was actually just a thin, worn out duvet for our second night. I would have gone elsewhere but i was attending an exhibition in the hotel that ran all day and evening and didn't have time to relocate. The evening event highlighted another problem with this hotel. Over 300 people in attendance and only 3 staff manning the bar. After a long while they opened up another bar but still only had 3 staff on that one. While this doesn't sound too bad only one person on each bar had any idea what to do or where anything was so the service was extremely slow and unprofessional. I think the rest were temps who had never been in a bar before let alone been behind one.I found this quite appalling as there were adverts everywhere about managing weddings for up to 480 people. The following morning the breakfast was quite poor to the point that the bread for the self service toaster was still frozen, the bacon was barely cooked and the sausages were invisible. over the 30 - 40 minutes i was in the restaurant i heard several times, to other customers, that the sausages would be 5 - 10 minutes and up to my leaving they never did arrive. I considered having an evening meal in their restaurant but at almost £20 for an 8 oz rump steak on a menu that didn't even have fillet or sirloin listed i thought better of it and went elsewhere.

    « Staff need training »

Room was OK but we couldn't shut the window so had to sleep with it open all night. The lighting is very poor in the room..very dim and difficult to get ready in. Breakfast was nice. Staff were terrible...particularly the night manager who seemed to have no issue with moaning about his colleagues and manager in front of guests! Staff were rude and inconsiderate during a function when people were presenting. I won't stay here again as it was very clear staff morale was rock bottom.

    « Dissapointing »

Well Without going into too much detail . Me and my partner attended a Trade show here this Weekend. Attended in the main by self employed business owners.. I got the Impression that most of the staff were new inc people who seemed to be in a position of authority. Having queued at a bar for 15 mins A lady (who seemed to be in authority) told myself and others queuing that the bar was open in the function reception suite, It wasn't draught beers were at least 10mins off being available to the dismay of myself and others waiting. A few returned to the other bar to then find the queue had increased to a greater length than before ..Imagine the frustration! Breakkfast was one of the other points. Frozen bread! 15 mins wait (at least) for sausages. And forgotten when tea or coffee(which presumably are served at the table) as no sign of it at the breakfast buffet! Were in need of reminding to the waiters who seemed more confused than me and my partner as to what was actually happening. this confusion amongst staff and the general cleanliness of the place would mean I would not be recommending this hotel . The last time I Visited a hotel run similar to this it had just gone in to receivership!

« Housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired »

Business trip. Nice room spoiled by dust on everything, mouldy shower curtain, dirty grout, stained valance. Breakfast tray left on floor of passage all day. Tried leisure centre, slimy changing room floor and dirty showers, Jacuzzi on cleaning mode "until tomorrow afternoon"? On the upside the staff were lovely though only ever saw one very rushed girl on reception and when we called from the room 3 times they never answered. Breakfast was good and plenty of it, similarly the evening meal. Bar staff didn't seem to have any experience not knowing what dark rum was or how to pour a pint without creating a knickerbocker glory. Also got charged four different prices for the same round of drinks up to £4 difference! Last straw was staff dragging outside tables and chairs around at 6am, no need for an alarm clock.

    « Weekend break »

It was ok , if your looking for a quiet break then this is not the place unfortunately , a wedding was taking place on the Saturday night and it was loud !! lots of screaming children running about needless to say I was not impressed ! The hotel was nice , the room was nice but maybe a little dark but it was impossible to see getting ready sat at the dressing table and it was also very hot we had to ask for a fan to cool down , most of the staff where lovely , Jemma on reception was really lovely very professional and always happy to help, two of the restaurant staff where not very pleasant In Fact they where quite rude One mumbled under his breath saying I could of closed the lid on the food container after me ? I had left it open as my husband was not far behind me ? And we also Witnessed one member of staff shove another member of staff out of the way ? I don't need to see this ? would I stay again ? Probably not unfortunately , this is more a hotel for conferences and weddings And a quick stop off and not a quiet weekend break.

« Looks the part but... »

When I arrived at the Cedar Tree I thought I'd made the right choice as the entrance and the rooms really do look 4/5 star - Unfortunately that's the end of the good news. From the get go it was apparent that a majority of the staff didn't know what they were doing (one staff member behind the bar had to be directed to a drink and at tea we ended up going and getting our water from the bar when it failed to turn up despite the dining room being almost empty when we came down to eat). After our meal we then sat in the lobby to enjoy some drinks at the bar, however this is only possible in the Cedar Tree if you enjoy listening to the staff dragging towers of chairs across hard flooring into the conference room. This was mildly annoying when they had the use of a trolley, but became unbearable when the staff abandoned the trolley and took to simply scraping the chairs along. Onward then, to nighttime when I was awoken at 2am by a fire alarm (I should also mention this fire alarm went off at dinner too). I called reception and was told that everything was fine and to go back to bed... Easier said than done as the fire alarm sounded multiple times afterwards. At first I wanted to put this down to something they can't control, that being said a quick google search will reveal that this is a common problem for the Cedar Tree and therefore I wonder why they haven't addressed the issue? Where the biggest issues lie for me has to be in the room staff. I was part of a group paying for a couple of rooms and whereas our room was always 'cleaned' one day another room in my party came back to a door showing the 'do not disturb' sign. They were understandably confused as they had not put this sign on the door themselves and when they entered the room it had been left untouched! Therefore it could be inferred that the staff had done this to avoid cleaning the rooms. As for me, although my room was seen to it became apparent that it was so to a low standard as mugs and glasses were left uncleaned and not replaced and I also have reason to believe my towel was not cleaned despite my following the instructions to leave it on the floor if I want a new one. I shouldn't be surprised that the bare minimum was done in the rooms of course as I on one occasion looked down the hall to see two of the room cleaners sitting on the floor with their legs sprawled across the walkway just chatting to each other! Furthermore, twice I walked along the hall to see room service trays outside of the room, these were not only left while an attendant cleaned a room but both times was left at least the whole day. Not only is this unprofessional but also unhygienic. I could go on but I will end with the fact that twice I had to go to the front desk because my room key had stopped working (as did other people in my group). The staff blamed this on us putting them near to our phones, I have trouble believing this though as one of our cards never left the desk and still malfunctioned. Also, I have never had this problem with a key card in any other hotel. All in all I hope that the Cedar Tree Hotel look into training their staff properly as a four star building is currently providing a one star service.

    « Sleepless night. »

Staying here as I type this. Bleary eyed and very tired. Nice looking hotel with friendly staff. But wow how do they get away with that as a bed? That's more like trying to sleep on the road. Hard, uncomfortable and down right awful. Yes we have already complained. Yes I should of brought my own pillows. These ones are thin and flat yes I am going to try and get some sleep. Have you thought about mattress toppers?

    « Great value break »

We visited this hotel as a last minute getaway via super break . For the price we payed it was great value. Good location on a busy road intersection so fast links to Leeds or Bradford. Part of our deal was the a 2 coarse meal on the first night. The food was plentiful and very tasty. The hotel is a little dated but all areas clean and tidy with all staff very pleasant . Pool area with hot tub, sauna and steam room clean but again very dated. All in alla great value break !

    « Health club »

The pool area is always immaculate and well maintained however the changing rooms seem to be neglected. Every time I visit there are pools of stagnant water and hairs across the entire floor. The showers are dirty and in need of an upgrade. The variety of equipment in the gym is excellent but again the cleanliness lets it down. The wipes provided are inadequate to clean the machines and they therefore look dirty. The mirrors are splattered with what looks like sweat-which is revolting and don't appear to have been cleaned for weeks.

    « A memorable family wedding! »

We visited cedar court to attend a family wedding at Bradford. Although the whole family had booking for 3 days in the hotel, we all had marvellous time. The continental breakfast, sumptuous lunches and mouth relishing dinner was far more to describe. The rooms were neat and comfortable. Staff was courteous. We really had wonderful time.

    « Beware Parking Fines »

Like a previous reviewer has stated be very wary of the hidden parking charges. I attended a business meeting at this venue and 10 days later I received a parking fine for £100. When I challenged this with the hotel all they would say is that there is a notice at reception, which on this occasion I did not visit as the group I was meeting with were already in the lounge, I was also told that there are labels on every table indicating the process, I did not see one. The car park signage must also be well hidden as I did not see any notices informing me that a charge could be levied. There is no other business or retail venue within close proximity of this hotel that would cause a potential issue so why do they need to issue parking fines. Ripe off Britain it is. All the advise the hotel could offer was take this up with the parking company. I will not be using this hotel again..

    « Brilliant Stay »

Stayed for 2 nights with my Granddaughter. We had a wonderful time, used all the facilities - gym, and pool (steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi). The hotel is well located and easy access off the motorway, and Leeds and Bradford are both close by. It was easy to walk to a bus station and get the service bus into Leeds to save parking (no park and ride nearby). Food was excellent and staff were helpful and friendly.

    « exstremly disappointed »

Upon arrival you think wow lovely building the entrance is fab and the seating area at reception is nice . Check in staff were horrendous ,no hello welcome etc ,we were greeted with" what room do you want" I said I don't know I've never stayed here before ,she replies well what floor 1st upto 4 th do you want 1st ." I asked f 1st was quiet to which she replied " I don't no I've never stayed here .?? Her name was Magna we were given 1st floor The room was dirty with a huge stain on the carpet ,the bath and sink had dark black hairs in and the toilet had not been cleaned .The room obviously had not been cleaned The room was opposite the hotels function room and whilst we were there they had a 3 day wedding with drums banging ,cars been driven screeching around the car park ,very very noisy children running up and down the corridors late at night We asked for breakfast and didn't realise we were not even 5 minutes late so we payed for food very expensive as were the coffees The pool needs a good clean as do the locker rooms very dated ,the young man on reception was friendly and helpful ( should move him to front of house ) You definetly need a car as the hotel is situated right off the motorway and there is no close shops etc The fire alarm was set off in the very early hours so after not being able to sleep due to children running up and down, door banging ,we decided to leave with the words never and again The staff did not bother asking us what was wrong ,dreadful staff what a shame .

    « Never again »

Second visit to this hotel but will be the last. On arrival I was unhappy with room cleanliness, and was moved accordingly, only to be called from reception to say they had checked room and it was clean. If 'deposits' left in toilets, old shower wash containers left and dust everywhere is clean then my standards are obviously too high. Nevertheless we went down to eat, only to be told the restaurant was closed and so only bar menu was available. Hey ho make the best of it I thought, I saw they had Gavi wine as an offer, thought things may be looking up.......no the bar person served it from the counter, even though I informed them that white wine is served from a chiller to be told......it's red wine.....WHAT!. I then watched as they almost 'corked' the bottle and bring it over warm. I asked if they had an ice bucket and could they chill the wine already poured.....they brought a pint glass of ice cubes to put in the wine! On checkout they had 2 bottles on my bill.....don't think I felt like paying for one.

    « Groupon voucher »

Four of us attended on a groupon voucher with use of facilities and afternoon tea. We had a lovely afternoon relaxing in the jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and swimming pool. we didn't use the gym but could have if we wanted to. A towel and a locker key was supplied. Only downside was only two showers to shower in after use of facilities. Afternoon tea was served in the bar and it was lovely plenty for 4 and loads of cakes!! Had to ask for hot drinks but all in all would recommend definitely worth the money and would return.

    « PARKING ISSUES DON'T BE CAUGHT OUT WITH A £100.00 FINE »

Met Chinese guests visiting Britain for drinks in the hotel bar. Cedar court hotel's website states free parking.... but this is rip off Britain a fine for £100.00 was received shortly after, apparently there is a sign on reception stating you have to give registration details for parking. If the hotel is full of guests checking in how is this seen?? this is not stated on website. Prices very inflated for drinks very average décor. Very expensive drink indeed with parking fine.

« Staying as part of a group trip with our choir »

Twin room was fine, good choice of food for breakfast, helpful staff. Interesting to see Hindu and Sikh weddings each morning! Room overlooked car park but not too noisy. Only used the pool once but was warm enough with towels provided.

    « Comfortable and convenient »

Took advantage of an offer which fitted our arrangements well. The decor reminded us of some American hotels, but the room and bed were comfortable. The bathroom was well maintained, but needs updating (the sink was cracked and the marble surround a bit stained). Breakfast was superb - plenty of choice with lots of fruit and the cooked food was hot and fresh. Our only quibble was that while the waiting staff were quick to clear tables, none of them asked if we would like tea or coffee and we had to catch someone to request it.

« No plus' for me. »

This hotel has nothing to brag about as it is a old hotel that is in need of a refurshbishment to bring it up to date. The reception is small and shabby looking with a fruit bowl on the counter with one apple in it that looked as though it had been there for ages. We had a family room was terrible with three beds squashed into it, the double bed was awful and actual broken as it sagged really badly in the middle and made terrible groaning noises when you got onto it. It was also a disabled room with light cords and emergency cords hanging all over so you had to be careful not to accidentally pull them. The bathroom was small with not a lot of toiletries just a soap, a shower gel and a shampoo in it. The toilet seat was loose and I had to straighten it up everytime I used it. We overlooked a carpark and a main road so it was really noisey. There is no air conditioning so we had to leave the window open on a night to get fresh air in and there was traffic noise all night. We were on a dinner on the first night deal and it was awful, the service was really poor and very slow ( and there was only eight people dining ). The leek and potato soup was ok and served nice and hot but the rest was atrocious. I had the gammon and egg which was very much over cooked and rock hard as was the egg. My wife had had the fish and chips which contained very little fish and rock hard batter. We were offered a dessert as compensation for the poor food but that was just as bad as the mains, The breakfast was buffet style and as the evening meal not very nice at all, everything seemed to be over cooked and looked as though it had been left for ages so it was also cold. All in all a basic three star hotel that does not really give you value for your money and needs money spending on it to make it more attractive.

« Terrible customer service & food and extremely noisy »

Cedar Court Hotel - The moment we went into the hotel and spoke with reception our booking for 2 days and full English breakfast ? they got completely wrong. They knew nothing about the booking for 2 days full English breakfast, and Line Manager was there to book us in, and I had to remind him of our booking which he had to look at invoice for third time. The Room 427 ? the on-suite fan did not work, and bedroom window was broken, got stuck, and difficult to close, and informing reception someone came to view and we told that maintenance was not working ?? strange for 427 room hotel with other facilities. First day - At breakfast we were told that we had only booked Room only so they had to check with reception yet again, anyway after more discussions we finally had breakfast. Second day we ordered breakfast in our room ? what a complete farce, tomato & brown sauce with salt and pepper despite only ordering continental breakfast, then Corn Flakes turned out to be Rice Crispies, then there was no jam or marmalade for our toast. To make matters worse the tea and coffee was cold. There was a wedding on Saturday night, the music was very loud and went on long after 1am, with the guest making loud noise because they were drunk in next couple bedrooms, so we ended up with little sleep

« Another visit to the lovely hotel »

Booked this on an offer from Cedar Court Hotels for a Travelodge type bargain price but once again was pleased with standard of room, facilities and hotel overall. Includes free leisure centre access and free parking. Is in a convenient location close to Leeds and very close to Bradford. Also Morrisons and Asda are close by both with petrol station.

    « 'Plus' what? »

This hotel is a Best Western Plus. That leaves you wondering what the extra will be. Best Western says it is personality. Not true. This is a charmless place, that despite promising a "warm Yorkshire welcome" fails to deliver anything special. The one solitary withered apple in the fruit bowl on reception tells the story here. Rooms are hot and stuffy. Mine most certainly looked nothing like the 'boutique' style bedroom pictured here. There was alot of noise from other guests all through the night.

« Don't be misled by the modern room photos! »

This was our second time at this hotel. The first time we stayed, our trip was terrible. The room was dirty and dated and absolutely nothing like the pictures we'd seen, the windows didn't shut, it was really noisy, I could go on. We had so many issues that before posting a review, I decided to contact the hotel directly to see if they could put our complaints right. They kindly said if we returned they'd give us a bottle of complimentary champagne (we were given a cheaper Prosecco, though the thought was still there), offer us a complimentary room upgrade & breakfast in the morning. All we'd need to do was pay the basic room rate. Keen to see the hotel at its full potential we decided to go ahead with this as we were going to be near that way in August. When we emailed to confirm a date, we were told that there were no suites available, only basic rooms, however they would put in the luxury toiletries from the suite, bathrobes etc etc and they offered us a complimentary dinner instead. Naively, I still assumed the room would be better than the one we had originally. Boy was I wrong. The room was smaller, there were marks on the bedsheets, the floor hadn't been cleaned in I don't know how long, we found other peoples hair grips, a few pennies dotted around and thick dust along the edges of the carpet, so it clearly hadn't been hoovered. We did receive the 'champagne' (Prosecco), bathrobes & slippers. But that was it. The room didn't even have a coffee machine like the previous, it didn't have any toiletries and it was dark, dingy, small and smelt of sweat. It was not pleasant. I was under the impression this hotel was going to really wow us on our return, but we were even more disappointed that the first visit. I really wish I hadn't given this hotel more money. We went to the restaurant for our free dinner. Although the steak was lovely, they can't cook it to your specification regardless of how many times you ask, so if you like your meat a certain way, avoid it. The rest of the meal was delicious and the waiter was very friendly. Breakfast was served from 7am-10am (I believe), we went down at 8.30am to find a lot of food had ran out. No pastries, and lots of the cooked breakfast trays were empty and were never refilled. What we did have was delicious, so no complaints on the quality side. I really really wish I could rave about how fabulous this hotel was and how they turned our opinion right around, but I can't. The rooms look nothing like the photos, at least not the two we had. The food is good but not worth staying for. Personally I wouldn't return, I'd rather stay at a smaller guesthouse and get a clean, smart room.

« comfortable and handy to main routes »

a travelling group from plymouth choir spent 4 nights here, arriving late after 8 hours travel. i was desperate to go swimming immediately and found a nice pool, warm water and enjoyed a good swim. spotted a sauna in small rooms and jacuzzi next to pool. bit tricky getting out, as step ladder only vertical to poolside, giving me cramp in both legs. bistro was still open for the food I'd pre-rdered and my fish and chips were good (especially the fish), actually the chips were rather odd, bit liquidy. However the service left MUCH wanting. the bedroom was roomy with shower, hairdryer, tv although all we wanted was to sleep by then. Breakfast service was better with choices for english breakfast, plus cereals, fruits and yoghurts and bread for (slow) toaster or croissants, so No complaints. happened to be a local (seikh?) wedding on over several which added much colour. sometimes no on on duty at the bar, till we asked. we made our own entertainment in the evenings, going on into the early hours. would be happy to return if in the area.

    « Impressed with food »

Was here for a themed night. I hadn't been impressed with the menu I must admit but when it arrived, I was very pleasantly surprised. It was delicious. The whole night was well organised. Possibly needed a few extra bar staff as the queues got very long, but overall I was impressed.

« Very Poor, incompetent staff. »

Called here for a business meeting, didn't see the parking signs and ended up with a £60 fine. The thing is reception failed to notify me of this even though I explained I was new here and had never been there before. I feel they maybe taking a cut of the rip off fines. It's private land, what a great way to promote your hotel. I would never use this place ever again.

    « Update »

Following previous entry, I have since had several e mails from the deputy Manager, Mr.Andrew Farley. He has apologised for my concerns, answered the queries and has promised to raise some of the concerns at a meeting tomorrow. I really appreciate this and feel that I have been listened to. It appears some of the ' faults ' lie with the coach company, Leons , from Stafford , that decide what time you eat and what you eat. Thanks again for the reassuring e mail, Mr Farley.

    « Very Good »

I use this hotel frequently to hold business meetings. The location is pretty good, straight off the M606. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful. The food is good quality. Beware of the car park charges, depending on how long you're staying you need to register your car at reception

« It's ok but not near the top of Best Western Hotels. »

We stayed as part of a coach party of Leon's from Stafford. Check in was pretty quick and painless. Our room G25 was at the end of a corridor. The room size was adequate but as a double there was only one comfy chair and one bottle of water. There was ample tea and coffee for us. My wife discovered dead flies and moths in the window sill when she went to open the window that did not open at all, the fault with the window was reported but nothing was done about it or any feedback given to us. There was a second window that did open but when closed did not fit properly, there were gaps around the left hand side. The bathroom was poorly lit and the shaving mirror was covered in rust. The extractor in the bathroom did not work which resulted in the mirror and shaving mirror being steamed up, see pictures. The bar is very nice and we had a bar meal on the first night which was good with regard to presentation and content. On the second evening we had to go for dinner at 6.30 pm which did not suit us but we had to go at that time because we were told that no food would be served until all of the party were seated, if that was due to the instructions of the hotel or coach company I am not sure. The meal was of extremely poor quality, I had the creamed garlic mushrooms in a crust topping, it was basically dry mushrooms in what looked like bread crumbs for stuffing, I left most of the starter. The main course of cod was insipid and lacked any taste, the potatoes were under cooked and other guests said they experienced the same. The desert was ok. I feel that the meal was of second rate value because we were part of a coach party. We have decided that we will never go on a weekend away with coach companies because we have felt that we were treated as second class travellers. If this is a Best Western Plus then the rating needs to be reviewed, only a week ago we had stayed at the Best Western Plus in Bournemouth, there was no comparison between the two, the hotel in Bournemouth was not just streets ahead it was continents ahead. Hotels want the income from coach parties but they seem to treat the members of the party as beneath the independent traveller, except in the bar where they purchase drinks. There is little alternative but to go along with the attitude of negativity of the hotel but try not to let it ruin your weekend. Coach parties have a lot of people getting by on a budget but they are deserving of better service than what was offered on Saturday evening. I would advise that people make enquiries before they commit themselves to staying somewhere where I felt that were were treated as second rate.

    « Pre wedding party »

My family and inlaws attended a pre wedding party in the Rowan Suite this evening. The hotel is very special to my wife and I as we were married here 11 years ago. After the pre wedding formalities the bar opened and starters were served (seekh kebab, chicken tikka, chana masala and aloo tiki). Then the DJ played and the piece de resistance was a set by the legendary Punjabi Bhangra singer Sardara Gill- what class and nostalgia!! Dinner was then dished up by way of buffet service and was again superb (chicken masala, daal, rice, vegetable tawa, naan and sweet was rasmalai). The dancing then carried into the night!!

Booked restaurant for myself & 2 colleagues, now been told restaurant is closed tonight as too busy! Unfortunately on company booking for bed, breakfast & dinner so can't go elsewhere. « Wish we could have stayed longer »

Being conveniently close to the motorway and Bradford central, we booked a night here and now wish we had known how good it was before doing so. Cedar Court was excellant value for money, our room was spacious, very well equipped, clean and most comfortable. The hotel lobby is palacial with every thing on a big scale, ideal for weddings, conferences etc we were initially concerned there would be noise, but they are plenty big enough to cope and although fully booked with functions in full flow we were never inconvenienced. The staff here were helpful and efficient and seemed used to a high volume guest capacity. The spa facilities were well equipped, with a large pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna and full gym upstairs at our disposal. We tried to extend our stay, but they were full and unable to accomadate on this occassion, but we certainly hope to return and would recommend them to others.

« Two night stay over »

As we were in Newcastle the previous day before coming home, I was looking for a location half way home, after looking on late rooms etc couldn't find anything. Found this gem on groupon 2 nights stay b&b and evening meal on the first night for £89. Never been before only 10 minutes to Bradford city centre by car. We booked in lovely looking place spacious in the foyer seating etc. Free parking which was a bonus, they do have coach trips passing through as well when we arrived. The room was pleasant and clean just what we needed. We went down early for our evening meal so not to clash with the coach trip. With the groupon voucher the starter and mains were limited, however the pate was good and my wifes vegetable kebab looked tasty as a main. Breakfast was the same for all visitors from cereals to pastries to the full English all help yourself very nice, the tea/ coffee was ordered at the table. Really nice sausages. The stay was great value and the colleagues were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Would definatlely stay again.

My brothers Graduation on the 13th of July was the reason for visiting Bradford and led my mum and i to booking this hotel. We booked it on the 12th over the phone and thought the price was very competitive for the quality that is expected of a Best Western. The great location of this hotel and proximity is an added bonus, we walked into the town centre, the journey was under 2 miles in total. Ample free parking was the other massive draw. Other hotels simply don't have the same parking space available and when you go into town there are parking restrictions galore so this really eased my mind i must say, knowing that no tickets would greet me upon my return, you can tell London life has made me paranoid! The room itself was exceptionally tidy and clean, very well presented. The only drawback i could see initially was the lack of AC and the window not opening fully, made for a very toasty summer night! The other drawback was the shower mechanism, quite tricky to nail the right temperature, may have just been me but been to many a hotel and not had it as arduous as i did at Cedar Court. Minor drawback. Hotel reception staff, gym staff and cleaning team were all very friendly and helpful, i wanted for nothing. The gym facilities are adequate and facilitated a morning training session for me prior to the Graduation of my younger brother. All in all i'd certainly recommend this hotel and want to thank the entire team for my plesant stay.

    « A regular haunt for me »

This weekend was my 3rd or 4th stay here. Its convenient for pretty much all my Wheelchair Rugby League away games. The Excellent reception manager Joanne, (always good to see the same staff) ran through a personal risk/evacuation assessment with me, a great idea! Also top marks for talking to me not my PA. Good room, beds have improved! Good bathroom (because of a change of booking, I forgot to book an accessible room, was offered one straight away! Great friendly staff in the bar and at breakfast See you next season! Only negative is the confusing parking system. Had my reg no. taken for a assessment/blue badge parking not sure if this covered me???

« Nothing is better than terrible »

09july2016 Stay at two rooms, G11 and G14 G11, is spooky, not enough lighting. G14, room is super smelly, unsure what's the source. Both rooms, double bed, i guess 140cm, super small for couple. Bottled water only one per room, eventough double occupancy. When arrive at lobby to check-in, there are plenty of people attending a party. Some kids are peeping from outside to my room G14. CRAZY!! Our holiday is totally screwed. STONGLY NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. WILL NEVER NEVER EVER RETURN TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL. TERRIBLE. HORRIBLE. CRAZY.

« Not my best choice! »

We were attending a wee5ding close by so we thought staying in a hotel was a nice treat. The hotel on the approach was good and the lobby was ok. The receptionists was pleasant however didn't have much idea of the area as we asked about a taxi for later and she didn't offer to book one No orientation was done about the hotel she mentioned were our room was located and that she was new to the area. The receptionists didn't ask about breakfast either we hadn't booked breakfast but no up sell was given (I am in sales) We proceeded to our room on the 4th floor. Again the hotel was ok but tired looking. We arrived to our room and it was again average and upon checking the bathroom the toilet hadn't been flushed. We decided to go and have a swim and try and relax before we had to get ready. We did eventally find the swimming pool, the was a guy on reception he asked to sign in and got us both a towel and card for the locker, however again no orientation of the facilities. The changing rooms were awful very tired and unclean. I was very quick to get changed and get in the pool as the photos on the website were good - very mistaken! The pool was awful it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for years. I didn't use any other facilities apart from the pool which I used for 10 minutes and got out. Me or my boyfriend didn't use the showers as they were awful. We needed a drink after that so we went to the bar for a drink and a sandwiches both of which was awful. I know we just needed a bed for the night but for £80 for 1 night in a city hotel I did expect more - this experience of the Best Western Hotels has put me off and we won't be recommending this hotel to any one any time soon.

« Cedar Court Bradford Review »

The hotel is ideally located for the motorway network, has good parking. the reception is very open the room was a good size, but did have a little road noise in the morning the evening meal was of poor quality but the service was very good breakfast service was OK and choice was good

    « 2 Night stay »

Stayed for 2 nights through a Groupon deal. Hotel was in good location just outside of Bradford but not a lot around the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, the only problem we had was that the room was not made up on our second day, when I spoke to the receptionist she checked the computer and said that it said it was done however she did arrange for it to be done. Food in the restaurant was good but lack of choice for a Groupon diner. Breakfast on both mornings was excellent with both cold and hot food and plenty to choose from.

    « short stay »

Even though we only stayed one night we found the place a little as though you were on buisiness,we feel this is what they cater for, saying that the breakfast was the best and the staff very friendly throughout but overall not a very relaxing place for family stays.location very central for everything and the room was small but still clean and comfortable we would stay again if we were passing by that way again.

    « Good Value »

Very pleasant staff good value overall very good but let down by the restaurant. Took forever to get food and not great when it came, breakfast very good though and good down to earth helpful staff. Watch you don't stick to the car park chewing gum central.

    « Nice weekend stay »

We stayed here on a groupon deal over fri/sat night just for a break to relax. There was a wedding booked each evening so one of the bar areas was not open to us. Our deal included B&B and evening meal on our first night. The evening meal was lovely and they accommodated my food intolerances by swapping things about a bit (Josh Hooley was especially good), the only thing I would say is it wasn't very ambient so if you're after a romantic meal you're not going to get it. The breakfast was also served here and we again had no complaints at all, very good variety and always topping up the hot food. Rooms was spacious and bed comfy. We had a swim and used the sauna and steam room too, all good. While we were there we travelled about 30 mins to Round hay Park, Leeds and went to Tropical Gardens, it was £5 entrance so I wasn't expecting much so was pleasantly surprised. I would be happy to stay at this hotel again.

Fabulous hotel with outstanding Staff that the Management should be extremely proud of. Always welcoming, smiling, helpful, ready to please and ensure our stay was perfect. Fantastic breakfast, such a good range and plenty of variety. Dinner menu and food superb. Excellent waiters. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend.

    « Advert for austerity »

I have very mixed feelings when writing this review as everything staff related was great - from room service, check in and check out, housekeeping the staff were pleasant and keen to please. The food delivered to my room was prompt and the Signature Cedar Court 8oz burger (£10.50) with red onion jam was memorable. I also have to confess that the Quinoa Salad (£6) was probably the best I've ever tasted. Car parking and wifi free are also plusses. I didn't try out the breakfasts or the health club. Now for the downside. This obviously has been a hotel which once aspired for four stars but appears to have given up the ghost on that count. The rooms are simply gloomy - and I was given four double or twin bedded rooms during several stays spanning nearly two weeks. Not only gloomy, the bathroom toiletries are so sparse to be bordering on disappointing. The cold tap did not work in one room when I tried - in vain - to run a bath. I had to report this malfunction which was rectified by the time I returned in the evening. Another common problem are the bedroom windows ... if the window opens the chances are it will not close again - a complaint I heard from other guests and a problem I encountered in one of the rooms. In short, despite five star staff the hotel is rundown and is in desperate need of a facelift. Presumably, like me, most of the clientele are from the business sector and yet there is no business centre. I couldn't even get a stamp from reception or find some top drawer stationary to write a letter (yes, some of us still use snail mail). And the pillows - OMG!! Hard, inflexible and most uncomfortable - the worst pillows I've ever encountered in hotels. If I come to Bradford again and find myself in the Cedar Court I will bring my own. The Best Western chain needs to up its game and invest some time and money in to this hotel which was more seedy than Cedar; the hotel has an air of neglect in the bedrooms ... tired furnishings, lumpy beds, windows that don't work, dodgy plumbing, gloomy interiors, furnishings more shabby than chic. In short the hotel is a metaphor for austerity - very sad when you consider the staff deserve to work in a place that mirrors their own five star standards.

    « UNBEARABLE NOISE ! »

We are currently staying at this hotel art time of writing this review. Booked for 1 night in Suite G12 which is on the ground floor. Upon checking in everything seemed very nice, lovely spacious room, nice pool etc, however the entire experience was completely and utterly spoiled by the UNBEARABLE noise level which has been booming through our walls from 2pm until now (7:45pm) ! . The cause of noise is a Wedding reception which is taking place in the function suite about 30 yards from our bedroom window, the doors of the smoking area are open towards our room and it literally feels and sounds as the the party is in our room. We have a 3 year old child who can't sleep and we are unable to hear our tv. My husband has been to reception twice to complain, firstly he was advised that the noise would stop at 8 pm so he returned to the room to wait fir it to stop, as the noise got progressively louder he went back to reception to as if they could at least close the doors. He was told that the Wedding party had paid a lot of money and he had been told already to wait until 8pm. The reception said we could change rooms but it would be to one facing into the motor way and a lower class of room. We were also advised that the hotel was under no obligation to tell us that the room would experience this level of noise! By this time, our little boy was shattered, in his pyjamaa and I was in my robe! Having to put with the mist awful racket for 5 hours solid is simply not acceptable, and certainly not what one would expect from a 4 star hotel. For this reason I will not be booking with best western again!

« Friendly staff, nice hotel »

We visited for a weekend in June. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were enjoyable and plentiful. The freshly made yoghurt was delicious. The evening meal on offer was not as good as the meals we've had at other Cedar courts. The room and bathroom were nice. Clean, comfortable and with tea / coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The initial kettle didn't work but they quickly replaced it. The leisure facilities were good - a decent sized pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The car park has parking eye so make sure you enter your registration on the pc at reception or else you will be fined. A friendly and comfortable hotel. Perhaps not as good as Wakefield of Huddersfield but still a good hotel.

« Not As Good As It Looks »

I have stayed in a number of the Cedar Court Hotels in Yorkshire and to be honest the Wakefield and the Huddersfield ones are much better. I do not this this hotel is Best Western Plus. It feels dated, the staff were helpful, however we stood at the bat 10 mins and the staff were so busy with the dining room they did not even acknowledge we were there. The food in the dining room was very average. The pictures suggest its updated but it is not. The leisure facilities are OK but again looks very dated. It was OK and clean but I would not stay here again I think there are better value hotels.

« Really good quality hotel at reasonable price »

Entrance area is well laid out with good seating, bar etc. Good atmosphere. There is a reasonable sized pool that you can actually swim in Room was clean & tidy. Nothing broken or dirty !! I would highly recommend this hotel for an excellent budget room. I could not fault it

« Great value for money »

The hotel is quite impressive both from the outside and inside. It's situation just at the head of the M606 made it very convenient to get too and to travel from. The room was a newly refurbished room on the fourth floor and was very comfortable. We had a groupon deal and so our evening meal was limited to a few dishes, was ok but not outstanding but the deal was very good! The breakfast was superb!! The staff were excellent, very pleasant and very helpful, they're a credit to the hotel. There was one little problem, there was a wedding on which was due to go on until 1am and the music was very loud! But one phone call to reception and it was sorted excellent response. We used it as a base to travel around, less than an hour to York and Harrogate. All in all we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

« Convenient, Comfortable, A bit old school »

Think everyone here stays on business, close to the main road and convenient. The hotel feels very old though, the pictures suggest an upgrade has happened but can vouch for this not being the case across the whole hotel. The bar area is a reasonable size but wouldn't take much to fill up if the hotel was busy. Restaurant had a delay so ate in the bar, very average but did a job. Rooms were very normal, seen it mentioned here before but towels were definitely wet before I got there. Overall, it's convenient but probably wouldn't stay here again out of choice.

« Well worth the visit »

Ended up here by last minute business meeting. A very decent hotel, well run with attentive staff and excellent breakfast facilities. Had an excellent and very comfortable room, will definitely stay here again when my next meeting in the area arises.

    « Nice hotel »

Had everything you could want, very clean room. Was very cold in the room so had to put the heating on most the night. Overall recommended and would stay here again in a room which isn't so cool and maybe Warmer. Very nice lobby area and bar, friendly and welcoming staff. And thanks to Monica for keeping the room clean and tidy. Hope to see you soon, first stay and happy

    1
    « Smelly and unclean »

Just let the pictures speak for themselves. The room had a stench of smoke and the bathroom smelled of mold and "wet towels". Also, even though they have a lot of staff in place in the lobby-bar, somehow they still manage to take fifteen minutes to make a cup of coffe. This is one of the worst hotels i have stayed at, even counting some really cheap ones i stayed at in Romania.

    « Great time »

Pleasant service, clean, quality deserves a 4* rating. Food delicious. Recommend it very much. Staff very professional. Plenty of parking. Easy access. Room is wide. Very nice complementary tea coffee and biscuits. Toilet and shower very clean and likeable. Pool very enjoyable and relaxing. over all 8 out of 10. If it had a small fridge I would have given 10 for a 4* hotel.??????

    « Went For A Family Venue...Really had a Time to Remeber »

Went here for a party and it was a really nice place, the staff was friendly and welcoming and the rooms were spacious and clean and quite luxurious. We ate at the hotel for breakfast and it nice and tasty, everything was fresh and presented perfect. The leisure facilities were nice and clean and welcoming. I will defo come back here if I'm in this area and recommend it to anyone who wants a jewel in the crown

    « Short stopover »

I had a short stay at hotel. Good accommodation and helpful staff. I found out that room was spacious and spotless. Well decor. But food was not good. That needed upgrading. Finally, not bad to stay there in several days

    « EXCELLENT VALUE.VERY GOOD EVENING MEAL »

Stayed here on a Deal via the Cedar Court Group. £19.50pp for B&B with an extra £15 pp for a £21.95 allowance re evening meal in the restaurant. All Excellent value. Staff all helpful, polite,& professional.Clean well kept large modern hotel, easy to find, with plenty of free parking. the evening meal in particular was very good, though initial wait for soup, was 45 minutes after ordering, which was too long, particularly as we where the only customers at the time. breakfast was good, though hot offerings where only warm not hot & could have done with mushrooms on the menu as this hotel classifies itself as 4 star. The room & bed was comfortable, adequate & clean, though the bathroom extractor was broken which no doubt had led to the mould on the ceiling (room106). Also at check out, we where nearly overcharged. So not perfect! just a few minor things to improve upon, but nevertheless excellent value for what we paid.

    « O.K. For Business Stay »

I have stayed here a few times and it is always O.K. for a business stopover. I have never stayed here without there being something not quite right. This time, only one lift working which meant waiting around to get to the fourth floor. Trying to relax in the bar was entertaining watching tables being rolled out. They were about 7' in diameter so you couldn't see the man rolling them, just a table seemingly making its way through the lobby? Why at 10:00p.m. though? I can't comment on the restaurant as I ate from the bar menu ? fish and five chips. There are usually Chinese visitors here. I guess it's part of a scheduled coach tour. I enjoyed watching them eating their own food in the bar and pouring large brandies from their own bottle. The bar seating area is comfortable and relaxed. The main upside is the staff ? attentive and friendly.

    3
« Good value for money & easy access from M62 & into Bradford »

We stayed here whilst seeing a show in Bradford (only 5 mins in a taxi) which added to free parking at the hotel makes this a great hotel for such purposes. Good value for money, free WI-FI throughout. Breakfast seemed somewhat chaotic with an number of the buffet items missing & not replenished, although we only stayed one night so it may not have been representative of normal service. One disappointing aspect is that we intended to use the pool & arrived with towels etc to find it being fully occupied for children's swimming lessons--unacceptable when a pool is stated as being available for guests use!

    3
« Ok but very tired and dated »

This was a quick overnight stop for a business meeting the next day. The place was clean and tidy, although very dated and is in need of some TLC. I did not use any facilities or eat there as I arrived late and left early the next morning. Please be aware there is parking eye used in the car park and whilst I was lucky, other visitors were not and had a £100 fine to wake up too. The reception staff did not make me aware at the time of checkin, which is very naughty. Overall you get what you pay for and considering it was £50 for the night, it served a purpose, although I'm unlikely to book here again.

    3
    « Disappointing... »

Expected the hotel to be of a fairly high standard as we have stayed in a number of Best Westerns that have all been lovely, this was not the case. The staff were very short and rude at reception, the rooms were old and tired, the bed was terribly uncomfortable, the bathroom was filthy. The cleaners in the morning were talking very loudly, banging very early on. The window in our room sounded like it wasn't closed even though it was the traffic was so loud. This hotel does not give the Best Western brand a good name at all.

    3
« Good location but looks tired. »

Hotel is in a good location for access into Bradford / Leeds or surrounding beauty area. Hotel itself is need or some modernisation but does provide reasonable overall quality. Gym and leisure facilities generally good.

    3
    « Quick business stay ... »

Another straightforward business stay. Was in a ground floor room which looked the same as usual so presumably this floor has not been refurbed, as the hotel advertised. My poached eggs were just right at breakfast as was everything else in the restaurant.

    4
    « Business Visit »

Hotel provides good accommodation and resources and is in a good location. Room was mostly clean although more attention to detail would remove cob webs and floor litter. Booked for dinner with menu very limited and there was a long delay between been giving the menu, ordering and the meal. Breakfast was disappointing> The hot buffet was empty taking nearly 15 minutes to restock. the Manager was unhelpful often going missing when needed most. Generally good value for money but lack of free newspapers shows that there is room for improvement.

« Not great but ok if easily please »

Stayed 1 night for hubby 30th upon arrival had to change room as was like a fridge and window didn't fit hole so moved. Then the bed was really hard and not comfortable. The other occupants very noisy all night long with shouting and slamming doors :(.Spa area very dated and dirty .Restaurant and food was very nice and reasonable for a hotel :).ok but wouldn't advise to someone like our selfs that expect more from a 4* hotel it could be better more of a 2* in my opinion

    4
    « Lovely Stay »

Its a lovely hotel. On our stay there was a wedding on - although the end of their big day, and the staff were just as attentive to us. The food was really nice in the restaurant in the evening and also at the busy buffet style breakfast was hot and plenty of selection in the morning, all the plates were hot too, big score for me as I hate cold plates for hot food!!. The beds are very comfortable and the whole place was spotless. Can't fault it at all and would stay there again. Do be careful when you leave that you arent over the speed limit - its 50 as you join the traffic onto the dual carriageway..

    2
    « Very deceptive »

My husband and I visited here on Saturday 7th May. Overall the hotel is nice but as a Groupon offer I felt the the menu was sparse, 3 starters and 3 mains. The warm chicken and bacon salad was ok (too much garlic) but the gammon main was horrendously salty, we were offered another one but I felt physically sick off it. Now getting to the the deceptive part, I handed over my debit card for any extras we made but was never told at any point that £30 would be taken off my card. This is extremely wrong and permission was never asked for, this has made me furious actually and should never happen. Why have I never been informed of this??? Then 2 drinks at the bar was £6.25 but as we ordered 2 in the restaurant this was increased to £10. Wouldn't visit again, not very good customer service.

    2
    « Disappointed! »

First impressions do count. Yet the reception staff didn't seem to appreciate that. The one positive about our stay was the gym which is very good. The room we had was also adequate for the price. It's the staff who let the hotel down. The bar staff should join the receptionists at a customer service excellence briefing.

« Functional Short Stay Hotel »

We had a Saturday night stay on a Winter Deal which proved to be good value. We had an evening meal in the Bistro and food was fine. The buffet breakfast was excellent - the food was well cooked and hot and the staff were always on top of replenishing the various food items. We thought that considering the large numbers catered for it was one of the best buffet breakfasts we had eaten. The rooms could do with some updating but all the staff were friendly and helpful.

« Visit to Leeds to use hyperbaric chamber »

arrived earlier than expected but the staff were great and didn't mind showing us to our toons early. They even changed us to a disabled room. We were pleased with the sensible prices for drinks and lunch - but WOW, what a surprise - all homemade soup and toasties. Hand cut chips were a real blast from the past. Facilities were great. Bedroom was well equipped with really comfy bed. Breakfast the following morning was great and chef offered to cook us fresh eggs. Staff were fantastic and really helpful throughout our stay and we will be staying here for the next 3 Friday's. Definitely would recommend with great location.

« Avoid if you want a restful night! »

I stayed for one night as I had to attend an event in Bradford the next afternoon. I was exhausted after driving for five hours and just wanted a good sleep to be fresh for the next day. Unfortunately that was not the case at all. The bed was old and creaky, the mattress was extremely uncomfortable and sharp making it impossible to sleep. I could hear the tv in the next room, I could also tell you how many times they use the bathroom in the night! That's how thin the walls were. Lastly the housekeepers were really noisy, they were talking loudly in the corridors and also when cleaning the next room in the morning they were chatting non stop! I had the most awful experience in this hotel!

    « Catch up with a friend »

Arranged to meet a friend and ex colleague for a quick lunch, as I work near the hotel. It was very quiet but looked well cared for. The staff were smart, friendly and helpful. The sandwiches and coffee were delicious and reasonably priced. Will call again.

    « stayed overnight »

stayed at this hotel overnight, on arrival we were given our keys, no problem there apart from our rooms were on different floors, we ask for a change and straight away we were given rooms next to each other, the hotel is lovely, food was excellent, rooms very good, staff friendly, didn't get to use the pool as receptionist didn't make it plan enough, she said shuts at 6 oclock, we thought we only had 15 minutes in so wasn't worth it, it turn's out last entre was 6, pool closed at 7, never mind, couldn't fault the hotel, would highly recommend it,

    « Dreadful parking system. »

Dreadful parking system. Watch out for notices regarding the parking. If you don't enter your car registratio number in the machine you will get a £100 fine. The staff on reception don't prompt you to do so either.

« Very good value and polite, helpful staff »

I booked this hotel at short notice due to another hotel in Leeds having to cancel our booking at the last minute. We had traveled up to Bradford for my sisters birthday party in Leeds. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised at the standard of the hotel as we were expecting something very basic for the price. The hotel staff were very attentive upon check in and check out, and considering we both arrived very late back at the hotel in the evening, were also pleased to receive lovely service from the man at the reception when we wanted to order room service in the early hours. The sandwiches we ordered were also really nice. The only criticisms I have would be that the bathroom steamed up very quickly, and the bed was not overly comfortable (i think we stayed in the older rooms which had not been updated) however for £44 per night, I really can't complain too much. The rooms were very clean and overall very great value for the price. Would definitely stay here again if I needed a hotel in the local area.

    « Birthday treat »

We are staying at the Best Western Cedar court Bradford at present we were given a warm welcome by the reception staff & given our room which is lovely spacious and clean with complimentary tea & coffee & hot chocolate, free wifi, we booked a table for dinner at 20.30 and only had to wait 5 minutes to be shown a table, the starters were delicious & our main meals were top quality and worth waiting for we had a bottle of prosecco.. Which was put into an ice bucket so lovely and cold for us, the waiters where all very busy but always helpful and attentive to us especially Azeem, we called to reception after our meal to ask for another hot chocolate and some milk, the lovely assistant reception manager Amanda gave us 4 sachets (thanks) we are really impressed with the Best western hotel chain as this is the 2nd time we have stayed at one of the hotels and love them,we find them a lot nicer than some of the other hotel companies and we will be returning again especially to the Cedar court, the negative feedback I read before coming has been totally unfounded and I would say come see for yourself it's a lovely friendly hotel .... Many thanks to all the hardworking staff regards Paul & Nicola

    « Nice stay »

Very nice hotel, staff were friendly. Rooms were nice and how they looked online. Very comfy beds. Bathroom was a bit dated and there was no ventilation so it was like a steam room and the door wouldn't stay open. However, the bath was great, filled up in about 2 minutes! Didn't get chance to use the facilities but they looked fab. Would stay again.

« Atrocious stain on Best Western brand »

I never normally malign a hotel without at first giving them some right of reply. However, my experience at this one left me with no choice. My in laws live in Leeds and for a change, my wife and I decided to book a hotel for one night. At £41 on a weekend for a four star, we thought it appeared to be value for money considering the extortionate prices other chained hotels were charging. This was our first mistake. Having arrived late from London, we were greeted with the most pungent odor after checking in, which pursued us to our room, where we were confronted with more discrete little horrors. The putrid, lived in smell aside, our bed linen had hairs splayed across it and the shower did not operate properly. When I demanded to see a manager I was told there was no one available that late at night. The quality of service here matched the dismal environment and rooms, in every way. All the facilities that you would expect from a purported four star hotel were present but the whole place is poorly maintained and desperately in need of refurbishment. I could almost have forgiven these glaring issues had I been treated with even a modicum of respect as a customer. But it was more like contempt. Upon checkout, I aired my grievances and once again demanded to see the manager, only to be told that 'this is the best four star hotel in Bradford' and that 'there were no issues with the room'. Well I must have dreamed it all up then. Even by the normally dubious standards of UK customer service, this took intransigence to a new level. The Best Western is normally a reliable sign of quality, globally. They have harmed their reputation by associating with this debacle of a hotel I am afraid. Avoid like the plague.

I have nothing good to say about his hotel I was in room G4 and you could hear everything next door from texts going off to then plugging things in. The walls were so thin. The beds were a springy uncomfortable mess and even using both pillows was not enough comfort due to lumps. I would never stay here again

    « Groupon deal »

Me and my husband stayed here for 2 days , the offer was first night was a free evening meal with a glass of champagne each . I ordered prawns for starter ( bloody lovely ) and my husband ordered Caesar salad ( gorgeous ) we had a try of each other's starters and found both delicious . We both ordered the main of lasagne , this too was very tasty ( I personally thought it lacked a little seasoning but I just added salt to it ) . The pool was lovely although it was cordoned off for toddler swimming lessons ( the pool is quite small ) . The hotel in general was clean and tidy and our room had complimentary teas and coffee with free bottled water . The bed was very comfy although I do think the bathroom needed updating . We went down for breakfast which I really enjoyed , there was lots of choice to choose from ( pain au chocolat , marmalade , jams , French pastries , full English ) I had the lot hehe . Tea and coffee was free flowing too which was good . I would definitely be returning very soon .

« Value for Money shame about breakfast »

Just returned from a mini break with my 10 year old son. The hotel was in a convenient location off the motorway. The room (321) was lovely, very clean (thanks to Sarah V (I think?)with very, very comfy bed. Pool was nice and warm which was pleasant, whirlpool out of service (oh no!) and the steam room was just the thing we needed. Very good value for the £50 we paid. Breakfast really let it down though and to say it was disappointing would be an understatement. At £10 per person it was just too expensive for the quality (especially for a child). When brought up at reception no offer to rectify was forthcoming. I would recommend anyone to stay but would advise to swerve the breakfast.

    « Easter Break »

Stayed here for a few nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Reception area was nice and the bar and large screen for sport is in the same area. Room was on the first floor and was ok, clean and tidy. My only moan is there is no extractor fan on the bathroom so steams up after a shower. There is a bath also for those that prefer it. Bar is a bit expensive, £11.00 for two G&T's, the small bottles of tonic are £2.00 each!!!! Get real Best Western as it forces you to drink elsewhere. Pool and Gym are available for guests. I did swim one day and there is a Sauna and a Steam Room. Food. English breakfast was good and plentiful of a higher standard than most other hotels. Dinner choice was good and food was a high standard so no complaints here. My only gripe was there appeared to be only two waiters on that were very busy but it did not affect the service level, but they did not come and check if our meals were OK! Ask for a room at the end of a corridor to try to avoid noise at night of people passing, typical of any hotel! Not bad Best Western

« Good hotel but best to eat out and take your own pillow »

Good value and location for business but let down by poor food in evening. Room clean and to acceptable standard with tea making, tv and Wi-Fi. Pillows well past their best unless you like sleeping with your head on a block of wood.

Absolute shambles is want I would of called Friday night.we were told free bar open at 7pm on arrival we were told free bar starts at 8pm.. 9 pound for 2 drinks cost of party was 35pp to start with time for free bar want shambles 3 staff to cope with hundred wanting a drink 35 mins I waited. Only to be told 2 drinks there was 3 of us.1 sitting at the table watching the bags for safety. Only to get back and food had been served.no notice meal was cold swimming in gravy la cate not..2 southern fried chicken and 2 potatoes wedges and veg. Good money was given in good faith of a good night of promise of food and a free bar and disco.disco was spot on but your food and free bar was not.Really need to get your act together wine on tables would have been better to be going on with with the meal and those who don't drink it there would have be less at the bar. And notice to tell customers meals were being served would have been nice. Sue edwards

    « Great stay »

Had a suite G12 on the ground floor with seperate living/dining room. Very well furnished and comfortable . Very convenient to get to the lounge and restaurant and health club . Disappointed that the pool was cold and the steam cabinet wasn't working but the spa pool was very relaxing . The food in the restaurant in the evening was outstanding and could not be faulted , the staff were also very attentive and pleasant . Sat in the lounge for a drink and again the staff were great . Breakfast was again excellent however the staff were miserable . Overall a great stay spoilt by a few niggles such as the cold pool and a couple of lights in the rooms not working , we will definitely stay again.

    « Great Hotel »

Fab amenities, great staff and in a brilliant location. Gym well equipped. Nice décor and good room sizes. Lots of parking and free too - not like some competitors. Also free Wi-Fi, again, not like some of the competition.

    « CONFERENCE »

Hotel had lots of parking, downside if you forget to register your car it's £100 fine. Bedrooms basic but comfortable. TV not ideal for watching from bed, as the t in my room was more window based. Breakfast was good lots of choice, however if you don't eat pork choices limited. Maybe turkey rashers and beef or turkey sausages would be nice, as opposed to bacon and pork sausages as the usual. Staff helpful when they weren't busy chatting to each other. Restaurant staff fantastic nothing was too much trouble. Cleaning staff lovely so cheerful. Petrol station a 10 minute walk if you want snacks etc cheaper then the hotel prices. Other than that if you don't have a car your pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

    « Star Wars party »

I was fortunate enough to be asked to a Star Wars party on Saturday night. The hotel was easy to find and there were plenty of places to park. The reception was spacious and welcoming and there were plenty of people about. We ordered at the busy bar then sat down on the raised seats in the middle of the floor. There was also a dining area but all I could see people eating was pizza. My party room was identified with a life size storm trooper made of cardboard. The room was well laid out and the heated food serving dishes contained pizza, wedges and quiche. Pork pie with brown sauce was also on offer. The single portions quiche was interesting as the pastry was sweet which was a little strange considering the cheese and onion filling. Staff listened to my comment and said they would pass the comment onto the chef. Others staff were also helpful. I had a very enjoyable night and it was amusing to see the faces of hotel guests When the guests of honour arrived. They were storm troopers, Boba Fett and a wookie from the Star Wars films.

    « Business Hotel Only »

Stayed here for one night in March on business. Totally bland hotel that has no charachter whatsoever and is dated back in the 80's and judging by the stains on the restaurant furniture probably even earlier. The drinks were ok and the evening meal was ok however the breakfast food was tasteless and standard fare. I would not stay again if it was my money.

« Standard business hotel with exceptional food »

Hotel is a very typical 3 star business hotel. Simple, clean and ordinary. The dinner however was exceptional. Although the dining room was uninspiring the food was a different matter. To start with I had a fish cake which was no so good. I would describe it as a very large potato croquet with a hint of fish and very well presented. For the main course I had the Sea Bass on a fish risstto. This was top top class. The risotto was fantastic. I can recommend the food rather than the hotel

« Very good hotel. A bit remote. »

Stayed here as I was working next door at a business park. Otherwise the location would not have been very convenient as it's a long way from any train station, town centre or restaurants. Room was in good order, fresh decoration, clean and modern. Comfy bed. Bar food was adequate, but not brilliant and service was very slow. One barmaid standing about going nothing most of the time with a queue of customers waiting. Restaurant was better. Food very good, although quite expensive for the Bradford area. Would recommend the hotel if you are travelling by car or don't mind quite s lot of taxi rides. The hotel itself is very nice, just a bit remote.

« Great location, had everything we needed »

Had a two night break with family. Rooms were clean and we had everything we needed. We arrived in a Friday and there was a large function going on, the bar was understaffed at the time that the function guests were arriving and we had a long wait at the bar. The bar area was really cold on Friday evening, however on Saturday it was much better. Our stay included dinner on the first evening. The service was very slow and aside from our party of 8 there was only on other party of 2 dining. The food was delicious, every dish was well presented and very tasty. Everyone enjoyed what they had. I had the ham and chicken terrine, which was lovely, it had a lovely smoky taste. I then had the salmon with spinach spaghetti, piping hot and cooked to perfection. Then I had the warm chocolate brownie, a generous portion and it was to die for. Slept really well despite the fact that walls are a little thin and could hear guest next door snoring! Gym is well equipped, pool is small but usable with nice hot tub. Staff were friendly and accommodating. It us around a 30 minutes walk into the town centre, downhill. A taxi costs around £6.

we enjoyed our one night away at The Cedar Court Hotel only an hours drive from home but well worth the drive. A lovely welcome at reception a birthday card delivered to our room from Tracy in central booking who had obviously documented parts of our conversation. Excellent breakfast comfy bed, friendly staff What more would you want .Not forgetting our excellent curry at the Three Singhs. We enjoyed our trip to Saltaire and the Leeds Armoury

    « Dated »

I'm surprised at the standard of this hotel. I found it extremely dated. My room resembled nothing of the website pictures (and therefore I also feel a little misled). The room smelt stale, the bathroom had no ventilation / fan, no plug sockets by bed, old heating system... The restaurant isn't much better. On the plus side, I was pleasantly surprised by both the restaurant and the room service menu. Relatively large selection of food (healthy / veggie included).

    3
    « 2 night business stay »

I have stayed here before and it has not changed Still a bit dated. The hotel has a large car park and large reception / bar area. Now when you arrive at reception you are directed to a screen where you need to enter your car registration number and number of days you are staying. If you don't you will be fined £100 The room was ok, bedding sheets etc clean and fresh. free wifi ok, and good level of equipment though a little dated. First night I ate in the bar area food was OK and acceptable price. Menu still the same as 12 months ago. A couple of specials or a dish of the day would be an improvement. Still can't work out how this hotel warrents a Best Western Plus rating. Have stayed in better Best Western hotels without the plus rating.

« Gym restaurant & bar, all you need »

Cedar court is in a great location for access to Bradford and the m62, and plenty of good parking. the lobby bar area is convenient to meet people and have drinks or something to eat, staff are very friendly and polite. Food is not great but edible and will fill a hole, I'd recommend eating out if your in the mood for something nicer than ordinary. There are restaurants to visit in the area so it is not a problem. There are pool and gym facilities which are essentials for many when staying away equipment is adequate, although the corridor leading to the gym/pool smells like a wet dog. Rooms have all facilities but are slightly dated. Good hotel facilities for the price.

    « Good consistent experience »

Have stayed in the hotel most weeks in the past 4 months on business and can't really fault it. Staff are helpful, hotel is clean and offers comfortable, albeit dated, rooms. Adequate wifi and full service restaurant with some dishes like the fish cakes being exceptional. I have stayed in other hotels in the area but this one comes top. Slight niggle is their lack of understanding of the best western rewards scheme. I'm a top tier member and never really see any difference in room, service or reward.

« £100 parking fine at Cedar Court Hotel!! »

Business meeting at this hotel chosen for the location. Lovely reception area, lovely food/coffee etc. However a few weeks following the meeting, myself and 5 colleagues received parking fines -as we had not registered our vehicles at the hotel reception ( we were later told there were signs on the tables informing us to do so - amazingly we all Failed to see these "signs"). Having spoken to the manager, the hotel uses - ParkingEye -which enforces parking fines on non paying guests. Having appealed and sent receipts to Parking Eye - they refuse to accept I was a paying guest, and now demand £100 parking fine!! I was very disappointed to be informed there is nothing the hotel can do to stop ParkingEye issuing these fines!! Although the manager did say he would feedback my complaint re ParkingEye to their head office. However in the interim -Potential guests be warned, when using Cedar Court Hotels please check as you will be fined for parking!

« Some things good, prices can be attractive but don't book a function there »

A mixed bag. I attended a function with friends and family and the organisation of the party (by the hotel) left a lot to be desired. Overall the party was enjoyable but it would have been wherever it was held due to the people attending. The function room consisted of a large room with dance floor, tables, chairs and a DJ plus an adjoining conservatory with bar and tables for people wanting a quieter area away from the disco. There seemed to have been little preparation done by the hotel for the function. The bar seemed to be short of various essentials. Throughout the evening there was no bitter available (nor elsewhere in the hotel - coincidently there was also a rugby event on in the hotel so how they reacted to a lack of bitter is frightening to imagine!), there was wine but no wine glasses, there was lager but only Stella Artois glasses (like a large wine glass), no lemon slices. The conservatory area was ridiculously cold throughout the evening and no-one sat in the area just rushing to the bar and then quickly back to the warm disco room. This meant that anyone wanting to escape the loud music had nowhere to go. All staff were friendly but sometimes seemed to have little idea what was going on. As part of booking the function, the hotel offered "attractive" rates for guests to stay at the hotel. These were typically £10 per room less than the standard rate. As it is a large hotel and the event was in January there were lots of free rooms and I noted that the hotel offered B&B online in the days leading up to the event at £20 less than the "attractive" rate we were offered and booked at. My advice is to take any "special" offer with a pinch of salt and compare against rates online. The hotel has offered Groupon deals for stays in the past so that is also worth checking. The room was fine and matched what you'd expect in a chain hotel. The bed was firmer than I'd have liked but that is personal preference. The breakfast was okay. It is a buffet with cold and cooked items. Some were nice. some weren't. In particular, the scrambled egg looked disgusting (it resembled a large plate of sick!) with reconstituted egg swimming in off colour water. I didn't see anyone have any. Checkout was a joke. As others have mentioned, there is a deadline for checking out of 11am (there is a fine of £10 per hour for anyone who is late checking out). Unsurprisingly there was a long queue for checkout from about 10:30 with just a single person on Reception. Apparently the peak time isn't very long (maybe an hour) and thus it isn't worth having a second person on Reception! Car parking was good. The hotel offers free wifi but it doesn't seem to work at all well. Problems were not just due to me setting things up wrong as others confirmed the same experience. They should be complimented on not adding a ripoff wifi charge but need to offer a working service. The hotel is about 2 miles from the centre of Bradford. If I wanted a cheap hotel for a visit to Bradford, I would stay again at the right price. However, I would not book a function there and would probably not plan to eat my evening meal in the hotel.

    « Diamond Wedding Anniversary »

A great celebration for two of our friends who have been married for 60 years. Sadly the hotel did not come up to the expected standard. The bar room was so cold that even the bar tender had to keep coming out and getting warm, there was no beer on drought or bottle no Cider, no limes or lemons on the bar, no whisky - no glasses, our food was cold even though it had just been brought out of the kitchen and was supposedly in hot dishes? Cedar court, you let them down badly. I would certainly NOT book an event at your hotel given our experience last night.

    « Family of four »

I've visited the hotel before a number of years ago for business meetings as it is well located to junctions of the M62 , M1 and A1 . The hotel is dated in design and harps back to the 80's and looks a bit tired and could do with some investment to bring it into 21st Century. That said the bedrooms are comfortable and clean. The price was reasonable and well positioned for trips into Leeds and Bradford. We ate the breakfast at the hotel and the food quality was average. The only problem we had was that we asked for two rooms, a double room and a room with two single beds for our two sons. We are arrived late and were told that the rooms with single beds had been let which wasn't a problem for us but might create an issue for some. The lady receptionist was very helpful and said that we could look at our sons room and if it wasn't O.K she would sort an alternative. In summary not the place to stay for a special occasion but reasonably priced and comfortable for an overnight stay.

« very nice hotel with friendly staff »

We stayed here in December as a birthday treat for my son. The staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were very nice and a good size. We had a small issue with one room not having enough beds but the hotel staff corrected that issue very quickly. The spa is very nice. We spent 3.5 hours in there on Saturday morning. My son and his friends really enjoyed it. Bar prices were a little steep but you expect to have to pay a bit more in a hotel. The breakfast was not bad at all with a good variety of choice to suit all tastes. I would recommend this hotel

    « Excellent Stay »

Had a lovely 1 night stay at the Cedar Court Hotel. Our room was really nice, we got bath robes and slippers complimentary. We used the Health Club which was nice and relaxing. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent - great service and lovely food. The prices where reasonable too. Breakfast was included in our break and there was a great selection of both hot and cold food. The homemade yogurt is really tasty with the fruit purees! Overall a lovely stay

« Ok but with niggles »

Stayed two nights here whilst attending a local course. We had purchased a weekend deal for 2 nights bed and breakfast with evening meal for the first night. When we arrived in the restaurant at the appointed time for dinner we were told that the staff were on their "Christmas night out" and that the "guest staff" were only able to serve the bar menu. On the basis that we assumed that was the case fir everyone we accepted that and ordered accordingly. The meals were ok but only just. Later we were speaking to two other couples who had also eaten in the restaurant that night and had both been offered access to the full menu. The room was fine. Breakfast was ok. When we went to check out there was quite a queue because only one staff member on reception. She was trying her best but was struggling with the queries being raised. When we got to the front of the queue she said there was an additional restaurant charge which seemed difficult to accept since we were eating from the bar menu. Because of the pressure of the queue I chose not to query it but left feeling disgruntled. Why can't a hotel get two staff on checkout at 11.00 am on a Sunday morning????

« Amazing stay for an amazing price! »

We have just returned from a family overnight stay here, booked to use the pool and relax with our kids as we were sent a very cheap offer. We arrived around 5pm and our room hadn't been set up for children, we had a drink at the bar whilst this was done, a little annoying as our on-line booking was for a suite with 2 children. once we had got to the room the kids were desperate to go swimming, unfortunately we were informed children were not allowed in the pool past 6pm. We had baths and was lovely, no conditioner though ..and only 1 bath towel, i called reception and the quickly brought some more.. room service was lovely and the breakfast fab, we luckily had enough time after breakfast to take the kids swimming before checking out.

« Good hotel but lacked attention to detail »

Nice hotel with a large free car park. Lovely, spacious room which was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced at £46. We booked a double room for 2 people and although we had 2 sets of towels, we only had 1 set of toiletries and tea / coffee / sugar etc for 1 person. Despite telling the young girl on reception twice and being told she would send someone to the room with extras, they never appeared. This put a dampener on an otherwise pleasant night away. The breakfast was good, a buffet style with plenty of choice but a bit over priced at £10 a head.

« Good hotel few little issues »

I went to this hotel for a business event. The 1st thing I noticed was the young lady behind the desk couldn't wait for us to leave reception. Didn't feel welcome at all. The rooms where nice, spacious.. Though when you have two beds in a room I do think having two towels would be a better idea than just one but that's just my opinion. There was only one set of toiletries.. Even though the room was booked for two people. We went to get some lunch from their small bar menu. I went for a tuna and red onion sandwich which cost £5.00 and a lemonade half pint that cost £2.50. I can't even justify why it was so expensive! However the sandwich arrived, was nice but really nothing special. The salad had the remnants of a plastic bag in it. I truly could not believe it. Reported this to the staff and she said she would go tell chef. Never heard anything back, didn't offer to replace the food or anything. Later that night we decided that we wanted to watch TV, the TV had 6 channels, no TV guide and in our room the TV wouldn't turn off via the remote or the button on the TV I had to turn it off at the mains. Also the remote had no battery cover. We then booked breakfast which was an extra £10 to have a cooked breakfast that was not anything special. The eggs where overcooked and in water. We hasn't finished eating and they where tidying away the other tables round us. They didn't stop serving till 11 and we was there at 10. The staff seemed very put out when we asked for more milk. Overall I would say it's a nice hotel but I think what they charge is ridiculous for food and drinks.

« Poor diner food, but okay otherwise ... »

Check-in was straightforward (as usual no paper offered) and the room was to the normal clean standard. I arrived late so decided to eat in the restaurant. To start I picked fishcake, followed by beef stroganoff from the very spartan menu. The fishcake was chunky and accompanied by a chilli-béarnaise sauce; tasty. The main course was very poor. The beef was so tough I could hardly chew it, honestly. I don t expect filet, but you have to be able to cut it! The sauce was watery with no flavour. I just ate the rice. I won't be eating there again. In the morning, breakfast service was all smiles and I enjoyed the food, thank you.

    « NYE party »

What a night the food was amazing so much of it didn't feel rushed within the courses. But what I was very impressed with was the lighting it really made the room. Also THE BEST DJ I've ever experienced always had the dance floor full and very smart and professional would recommend it to anyone. Wish I could find out who the DJ company is I would like to use them for future birthday parties. Only thing let it down was the bedroom was very dated the bed felt like it was 20 years old.

Stayed for the New Year's Eve Gala night excellent evening food very good considering how many places had to be served entrainment by the Rat Pack group got every one up dancing and having fun then the next morning a great full on English breakfast well done to all staff for an excellent event

« New Year's Eve event "dress to impress" »

We had booked the event as the last three years have been great spending time with good friends and partner bring in the new year but we all agreed with a number of others that this year outrageous from start to finish, it was to say the least a cost cutting situation..... Starting with afternoon tea which the past few years "sandwiches, small dessert, refreshments" this year they offered shop purchased cakes (Asda scones, lemon cake, doughnuts) and cheap 3663 tea bags not the English tea offered the last few years. After a number of complaints the manager offered us sandwiches to attempt to settle thing down but there was a number of guests that had issues. The evening event started good sitting down at 8pm but then the Food was served over 2 and a half hours "what a joke", the best part of the food was the starter lovely soup the sorbet want what was advertised, the beef Wellington was to say the least bad rump not fillet, then to find a pancake inside wrapped around a small peace of puff pastry OMG...... Music the DJ was outrageous texting or on Facebook all night walking away playing music then when the band came after a long meal he tried to raise the sprit in getting people to shout out there tables which NOBODY was interested in and people felt intrusive. This was the worst event in year the best was when we left at 11:20 to sit in the other bar and celebrated the new year in with friends, people we talked to and the mangers in the front of house, bar and porter asked us to be quite......really We will not be returning next year.....

« New Years Eve family event »

We were a party of 11 adults and 8 children. First time we came to this hotel and it was a good afternoon / night. Catered well for. Hotel and food was nice. The next morning I was checking under the duvets for anything left by the kids and was absolutely disgusted to see that the quilt cover on one of the kids beds was really badly stained with old blood, the sheet was too. I didn't notice this when my child went to bed as it was late and dark in the room. I felt physically sick that my child had slept in this bed all night without me knowing the state of it. I was looking to book again next New Year's Eve but this has put me off !! Not good cedar court !

« Christmas Lunch - Okay, but needed better management »

We come to the Cedar Court most Christmases - as none of us can really cook - and we usually have a great time. The meal consists of a pretty glorious buffet of starters, which is great: loads of choice and good quality food. The main is a carvery - turkey and ham - and all the fixings, and then pudding is a table-served choice. I went with the Christmas pud, obvs, and it was all delicious. The problem this year is that it appeared that pretty much all of the waiters and waitresses were new to table waiting. Which isn't a problem in its own right, everyone has to start somewhere, but the issue was that there didn't seem to be anyone in charge, directing affairs and making sure things were running smoothly. An example of this is when we got to the buffet (we were first up), there were no spoons, tongs, etc to serve ourselves with. We called over one of the waiters - a newbie - who scampered away and returned, looking a bit dazed and confused, with a haphazard collection of soup spoons and tongs and kind of scattered them randomly around the buffet, panicking a bit as there was by now a queue waiting for him. Just one of the many very minor issues that on their own wouldn't have been a problem, but there were lots of them (we had to wait ages for the waiter to ask us what we wanted for pudding and in the end we had to summon someone, no mints with coffee, the mince pies showed up after we'd left the table, etc, etc). If we'd have been paying £20 a head for a normal Friday afternoon's lunch, none of these things would have been an issue. But we weren't. This was an expensive Christmas lunch so you expect these things to be right. In fairness, this is the first time that anything like this has happened, and it was definitely down to bad management, not the waiting staff, who were working their socks off. And, while it didn't spoil our Xmas day or anything, we would have expected better for what we paid.

    « Enjoyable stay »

Stayed one night break for two with dinner and breakfast deal.I carnt fault it at all ,it was a bargain ,nice clean comfy room. The meal was three course and really lovely ,the service was great all the staff at the hotel were really welcoming. The health spa also included in the deal and I enjoyed the facilities .I would definitely recommend staying here and would return.

« Good, but be a little aware »

There is very little to complain about, even considering the very busy Christmas party period. The staff were very polite and the rooms clean. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Be aware that the parking is heavily policed and the signs throughout reception confirm the regulations as well as remind you that brands can be ruined by such instructions. My only qualm was the unusual smell in both reception and the rooms however this was soon forgotten. Considering the busy season and my stay was with a young child, this was a very pleasant hotel. We swam, ate, drank and slept without incident. We even registered our vehicle at reception, as instructed by each of the three signs between the lobby door and the lift. I would recommend the "Hotel register your car" to any traveller...

    « 2 Nights Stay - Very Noisy »

Day 1 - 18/12/15 - Fire Alarm went off at 6.30 am and woke us up twice! Day 2 - 19/12/15 - Next room occupant had TV on 2 am I had to ring the hotel to ask them to address. Walls are really thin and you can hear everything in the corridors, bathroom and neighbour rooming. Check out took a while as they only had 1 girl on reception at peak time around 10.45 am, so there was a queue of us. Location is good, but for the price you pay for a hotel in Bradford, not good value.

    3
    « Ok convenient hotel »

Good position at the end of the motorway. Bathroom shower curtain needs attention. Comfy bed and room was clean. Internet connection was good. Health club desperately needs refurbishment as it was run down and dirty, also it stank of sweat, not very conducive to relaxation.

    « Functional & Clean »

Stayed here for two nights recently on business. Functional hotel, clean and well located. Like all large hotels where they tend to let themselves down is mass producing the food and having enough staff. The bars in the evening were crowded. I know it's the Christmas season and they had a lot of parties to cater for but surely they knew some weeks ago that they had the parties, they knew how many had booked therefore it doesn't take a mastermind to work out you need more staff and have the revenue to pay for them? The staff that were there we very pleasant and coped well considering the pressure they were under. The food offering was poor, in my opinion, but, as I've said, they were very busy. I little more care on the cooking at breakfast would have been good too much of the food looked undercooked as pressure mounted, I guess, to get it out? Very spacious, clean and well presented room with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

    « Christmas party? Don't bother »

I took 26 of my staff last Saturday for their Christmas party. There were other companies also having their Christmas bash and was a really nice atmosphere, that said, it's a shame the food was not better, started off with starters and no problem there, the main course was terrible and it was not only my party that thought that. The beef was like leather, the vegetables must have seen the boiling pan and jumped out of it rather quickly, I know that vegetables needs to be crisp but goodness me... The parsnips you could not cut with a knife they were that under cooked. The xmas pudding was cold... All in all quite disguised and will not be having our Christmas bash there ever again. The icing on the cake was when 8 lads in their 20's just came wandering in and stood around with a drink just watching people in the dance floor....my question would be...where was the security in this place when people can just wander in? Would I recommend cedar court, sorry definitely not

« Make sure you visit nearby Haworth! Nice pool. »

If you are staying here based on a ?Wowcher' or ?Groupon' voucher and there is an evening meal included in the price of your stay, be aware that you will get the limited 'Groupon' menu, this had very few dishes, and nothing that would particularly 'wow' you, however the food was OK. I am happy to report that the staff are very helpful and the room was adequate, this is not a luxury hotel though so don't expect something fabulous. The pool facilities were rather nice, the changing rooms are in need of re-vamping and resemble the changing rooms that a public pool may have but they did the job and were clean so cannot really complain. The Pool area has a Sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and the pool is a nice large size, just ask the staff what time the children's swimming lessons are on to ensure you go in when the kids are out! One thing I will advise is that you must visit a little village nearby called Haworth where the Bronte sisters are from, it's tiny but it is a lovely little place to wander around for a couple of hours! Lots of vintage shops, trinket boutiques and make sure you visit Cobbles and Clay tea rooms, they have a huge selection of teas, lovely scones and you can even paint some pottery if you fancy.

    « Car park nightmare »

Oddly for a large hotel with a larger conference facility, they employ a firm called parking eye to find conference visitors to the hotel to fine. I unfortunately found myself as one of them, with a case still with the parking regulator I would urge caution before using this location for events, as event as a sponsor of the event I found I along with many attendees beset by parking eye on the 21st of September 2015. I can not resolve my case with Parking Eye nor can over 10 other attendees. it is very frustrating.

« Chaotic check in, poor dinner service and dirty health suite »

Whilst checking in you have to go on a computer screen to register your own car details otherwise you are fined £100 by a spy camera system. This makes it quite frantic when at the same time the receptionist is asking if you require a table for dinner and everything else at the same time. Be warned the hotel do not record your car details against your room number, so if there was an incident involving your car in their car park they don't have a clue who the owners are, they seem more interested in not getting you fined, posters and notices all over the hotel, awful. At dinner we waited for an hour for our meal to arrive and the couple next to us 45 minutes for their sweet, the service was appalling and the restaurant had about ten people seated so there was no excuse. My portion size was disappointing so it wasn't even worth the wait and the staff gave no explanation or apology for the delays. The Health Suite, the male changing room was outdated and dirty, the towel bin overflowing and the floor covered in pools of water and abandoned clothing. The poolside was also covered in pools of water making it very slippy and when entering the steam room it smelled strongly of the drain. The sauna is well worn and sweat stained, the wooden benches had screw heads exposed due to wear and tear and there was an abandoned bottle and a filthy area underneath with dirt between the wooden lattes. I noticed that the young man on reception seemed more interested in his mobile phone than getting up and doing some cleaning and was overheard using the ?f? word to his colleague when mentioning the thermostat not working. I suffered from a rash that evening as a result of using the jacuzzi, I have used them many times before without an issue but ended up at the doctors because of it. When I wrote to the management, I was assured by the Operations Manager, Richard, that an independent enquiry would take place to check everything was OK After several weeks I enquired about the results and he mistakenly sent me an email destined for one of his colleagues " Hi Allison Sorry to bother you. How would you suggest we reply to this as shield have said it is not one for them to get involved with?" As a result of this I wrote to the general manager, she said that an enquiry had taken place but was unable to supply me with a copy of the report, the name of the company or the date it was carried out. She was also unable/unwilling to supply details of the chemicals used requested by my Doctor. She did offer a "best rate" booking and complimentary meal as compensation but this is the last hotel I would ever set foot in again. I hate dishonesty, poor service and uncleanliness so why would I even consider it ?

    « Could do with a good scrub ! »

We booked our office Christmas party and overnight accommodation. I arrived in plenty of time to enjoy a spot of lunch and trashy TV. It's always nice to stay in a hotel. I ran a bath, now I realise most people will have a quick shower but as I lay in the bath with my maltesers and take a break I realised it was absolutely filthy. With thick black stuff all around the fittings and tiles. I needed a shower after my bath which resulted in me spending the next ten minutes sorting the mini river that was flowing through the bathroom because the shower curtain was too short. The beautiful white towel was a mucky shade of tar after I had cleaned the floor. I gave up on the mini pamper session in the bathroom and retired to the room to watch come dine with me. So on the lovely big bed with my galaxy I turned over the purple scatter cushion to find it covered with some sort of substance I will only allow my brain to think is saliva from someone who more secretions than a st burnard. The rest of the night was fabulous and great value for money. The DJ could do with a quiet word about his target audience he was desperate to play chart stuff when there were probably 3 people under 40 and we wanted some cheesy party tunes, nowt wrong with a bit of black lace or the music man at a Christmas bash. The bar prices were enough to make santa cry at his own party but I expected hotel prices. Breakfast was very welcomed after a touch too much gin the night before. Really lovely sausage but very flaccid bacon if you like your bacon well done I would make do with the rice crisps. Now moving on to something they described as creamed eggs. They looked like scrambled eggs floating in water. My mate who is older than me tells me it's powered egg it was popular in the war! We are not in the 1940 and this is a 4 star hotel, I'm sure someone can scramble some eggs without too much trouble, even I can scramble eggs without having to Google the recipe. To be fair for the money we paid it was great value but I would expect a better standard of cleanliness. We had a smashing time and the staff were all very lovely but if would have been disappointing if I had paid full price.

    « If this is BW+............ »

Came here with many colleagues for a conference and Xmas party. Conference facilities were OK. Where this place really falls down is very poor service. It takes an eternity to get served at the bar, generally by inexperienced staff who have no idea who's been waiting to be served. There were over a 100 in our party and I have not heard anyone say anything good about the xmas dinner we were served, in deed many people did not even try it because they saw and heard what other people were saying and could see it was poor. I tried it, the parsnips were rock hard as were the sprouts. The turkey was like plastic, needless to say I did not eat much of it. The room on first appearance seemed OK however you could hear everything in the rooms on either side, the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable and you'd have to be a midget to get under the shower. Finally, when we checked out there was only one poor woman on reception. We were number 116 of the day to check out and the queue as you can imagine was a joke. None of the managers on duty were qualified to check guests out. The lady on reception said it was the same every Sunday. To her credit she was bright and cheery and put on a brave face. I have been told that our conference will not be held there next year, I'm pleased on that front.

« Brilliant Accommodation and Breakfast »

We asked for a quiet room on the top floor... And that is exactly what we assigned. A huge room, with all the usually facilities and big squashy bed!! Brilliant.... Breakfast was served by the loveliest of staff who cared about their customers experience... The food was lovely, hot, good quality and fresh!! We enjoyed our stay and who return!!! Thank you for a relaxing weekend break!!

« Really Good Weekend Break »

Had a fantastic stay at the Hotel. Very much enjoyed the spa and pool facilities. The Hotel is situated in an ideal location for ease of getting to and from Leeds and Bradford. All staff at the Hotel were very welcoming and friendly. The bed in our room was damaged but after letting reception know they soon arranged for another bed to be brought to the room. Thank you very much for that. The prices for food and drink were reasonable, nothing is cheap these days Hey. My only criticism will have to be the portion sizes of the evening meal. The food was really nice and very tasty, just would of liked more after not eating all day, not wanting to spoil my appetite. The breakfast was fantastic, very much enjoyed this, really nice quality produce. All in all had a very nice stay. Would recommend to a friend. Thank you very much everyone at Cedar Court Bradford

Food was awful, main was cold, vegetables were under cooked and hard. Portions were laughable for £39 we had paid. Pudding......only one word slop!! Staff were pleasant enough. Work Xmas do, such a shame. Look elsewhere next year!

    « Allergen free service »

Had meeting today Cedar Court Bradford. I have food allergies and outside of gluten free sandwich; which I detest there was nothing. So Ryan (Super duper human being behind the bar) went through menu with me and the chef made me "dairy free" scrambled egg with salad. It was from the brekkie menu which finished at 11 and its now 1.30pm. Having it now.. so grateful to the time and effort put in for my £3.50 bill.... keep it up.. just fab. . Sue

    « Health Club »

Consistent service is hard to come by in your health club. Most of the staff are good, polite and helpful when you arrive but there is one who is consistently rude. Your extremely lucky if he even looks at you as you walk through the door because most of the time he's half asleep on the desk or engrossed in the computer. If it was a one off you wouldn't think about it but this guy is consistently not interested in anything going on other then his phone, or the computer. When he does speak (which is very rare) he has an unpleasant sly manner which makes you wish you hadn't bothered trying to make conversation in the first place. Let's the whole team down with his poor attitude.

« Glad it was a visit on a deal!!! »

We visited this hotel recently on a Groupon deal, which was a very good deal. We arrived at the hotel at 8 minutes to 2, I went to the desk to check in and was told by a very rude Receptionist to sit down as it wasnt 2.00 o'clock yet (which I presume was the time you could book in!) there was no one else at the desk, but people sitting in Reception, I was totally embarrassed by this woman's attitude, and wasn't sure if it was because we were with Groupon, but that should not be the case, we were customers regardless of our status!! whilst waiting my husband asked a very pleasant young man behind the Reception desk, if we could get to Leeds by bus, he told we could and gave him directions, his name was Jensen, he was so helpful, and he said just come to the desk I'll book you in, what a lovely young man, so polite and helpful, he was delightful. What a pleasure after our initial greeting, from the rude lady whose name was Imra (or similar, and was actually Head Receptionist!) no need for it. We went to our room, which was very pleasant, we were happy with it, it was very clean and nicely furnished. We unpacked and then made our way out to Leeds, again with a little help from the nice young man on Reception. We returned from our trip, showered and went down to dinner, a gorgeous dining room and were were looked after well by staff. The menu was quite limited (a seperate menu for Groupon) the food was Ok basic, but adequate for the price we paid, and it was busy because there was a party of 300 in one of the function rooms, so they coped well. We had a drink in the bar and then went to bed. We went to breakfast next morning and was pleasantly suprised with breakfast, it was excellent, everything you could have asked for, all hot it was very good. This was a good deal from Groupon, and apart from our initial greeting, which really upset us both, we are in our 60's not 6 year old children, which is how we were spoken to, we enjoyed our stay here, thank you to Jensen, and all the other staff who were lovely, but maybe a bit of training for the other lady, after all your greeting is the first impression customers get of the hotel, regardless of who you booked with!!!

« Dont try the Pizza »

A really nice hotel to stay in. Reception staff were excellent on both check in and departure. Room was clean and comfortable. Extractor fan wasn't the best in the bathroom though. I made the mistake of having a Pizza at the bar/Lounge, it was probably the worst that I had ever had and quite possibly purchased from Poundland or a 99p shop. Even the bar staff were not surprised when they collected my plate to see that I'd only eaten the topping. My comment of awful didn't seem to surprise them either. However, breakfast was very good and the service overall was extremely good. If you want a nice hotel try this one....Just don't order a pizza.

Lovely hotel with a welcoming reception and lounge area. Room clean and presentable. All the staff are very polite and nothing is too much trouble. The indoor pool and leisure facilities are excellent and user friendly. The food and dining are of a high standard. Thoroughly enjoyable stay, thank you.

    « great weekend break »

My friend and I stayed at the Hotel for the weekend and could not fault it. The staff were all very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. When we found that the hairdryer in the room did not work we contacted reception and a replacement was brought to the room within 10 minutes - and delivered with a smile. The jacuzzi was broken but other than that the leisure facilities were good. Breakfast was lovely - a good choice between full English or continental with lots of different fruit and cereal to chose from. Although the area where we ate our evening meal was small and there were not many tables, we booked a table on our arrival wth no trouble and the meal was excellent. Would definitely recommend the Hotel for a leisure weekend away.

« Terrific value with groupon »

£60 groupon voucher. Used the gym, pool, jacuzzi, steam room, lovely bedroom, two course evening meal included, more time in gym then buffet breakfast. The staff were very friendly, Debra, Krystana, Kenneth, the guy on reception ( forgot to read his name badge) even advised us on driving conditions and the motorway traffic due to the fog. Was concerned about reading other reviews but fear not. Hotel clean throughout and food lovely.

NEVER USE THIS HOTEL FOR BUSINESS. I have used this hotel for many years as a meeting place with clients and suppliers the last time was 8 October. My client was a guest and stays at the hotel on a regular basis and I was a patron - spending £25 over the bar. I did not appreciate that parking is now contracted to Parking Eye being preoccupied with preparation for my meeting and genuinely did not see the signage indicating that a permit should be obtained at reception. I have appealed to Parking Eye but received no response and the hotel have been very dismissive to my protestations so ...... I will now pay up! My expenditure £125 for an hours stay! A disgrace! JC

    « Disappointing stay »

Found a weekend break on Classic Britain for two nites BB & dinner arrived early evening on the Friday checked in room ok nothing special but cleanish but a very comfortable bed. Went to the so called restaurant or corridor never really seen any thing like it a few table & chairs in a small corridor area, was give a menu with a few choices of starters, mains, puddings, chose the soup lovely then followed with beef stroganoff which was nothing like it more of a oriental taste sent it back & changed It for baked salmon waited forty minutes for it to arrive couldn't eat it was pickeld in salt so at this point gave up the waiter asked if it was ok I said no it was so salty he took the plate away without any apologies or offer of anything else we sat for a while & no one approached our table we left. I went to reception to complain & said I had the worst meal & customer service she was lovely but proceeded to inform that they were so busy as they has a groupon offer on & things were a little crazy & said she couldn't offer me any sort of recompense as we had booked on a offer even though I had purchased a £17 bottle of wine, she offered us afternoon tea as an apology for the next afternoon. Sat ... Breakfast was ok hot & mediocre quality but edible, went into Leeds for some shopping & returned for our afternoon tea which was served to us in the bar situated just off the reception we were asked if we would like tea or coffee we opted for one of each two plates were served to us which had some sandwiches 1 scone 1muffin & wilted rocked this so called afternoon tea had probably been plated up & refrigerated since lunch a& as you can imagine the sandwiches were soggy the scone& muffin were stale & to top it all off the coffee was cold the lad who served us the tea came with some butter for the scones I said don't bother the whole thing is horrible he just shurugged he's shoulders & walked away. Sat Eve as we were sleeping we were treated the the couple next door rowing very loudly then proceeding to I presume bounce her off the walls & furniture, I guess the moral of this story is if you pay peanuts you get monkeys & it very much shows it in the case of this hotel as no one really cares if things are sub standard & the guest isn't happy, if a good will gesture was offered wouldn't you think that it should have been of decent standard seeing the complaint in the first place was about the food the previous eve, all I can say is get yourself over to the cedar court Wakefield they will show you how things are done. Disappointing weekend & a waste of money.

« Can't complain for the price... Don't know if I'd feel the same if I hadn't got a deal! »

My friend and I booked the groupon deal and for what we paid (£30 including dinner) we really couldn't complain. However if I'd paid full price I may not have felt the same. Service wasn't what I'd expect for a 4* - particularly on check-in and out (for example on check out we had to ask to see our bill before paying) and on check-in we were given the briefest of information. The walls in the room are paper-thin. I wouldn't recommend if like me, you are a light sleeper. I was kept awake by one side of us snoring, and the other side going backwards and forwards to the toilet. Ok, but room for improvement, would be my final summary.

« Disappointing visit - checked out a day early! »

We received a two night getaway for our wedding and this was one of the venues that allowed a weekend stay. We had plans to visit family so thought this hotel would fit our needs. On arrival, there was only one person on reception with a queue building. We probably waited about ten minutes to be checked in, we were told that breakfast was in addition to the voucher, we didn't have an issue with this and luckily only booked this for one day. When we went to our room, I pulled the covers back to find marks on the cover of the duvet. I couldn't get through to reception so we had to mention this as we were going out, again there was a queue, but luckily a manager passed and we spoke with him. The bedding was changed but the bottom sheet was just kind of hung over the mattress. The throw on top still wasn't the best but the actual bedding looked clean. The room stank of cleaning products, so much so that it gave me a headache at first. I had a really poor nights sleep, you can hear everything, including the alarm clock (provided by hotel) in the next room, someone had clearly gone out and it went off for about 15 minutes. We went for breakfast, not one member of staff acknowledged us. As we went to choose our food, I put a hash brown on my plate, went to the scrambled egg and it looked like it had barely been cooked, it was watery and runny, both my husband and I just looked at each other knowing there's no way we'd eat it. The other items were no better, so I ended up having a croissant and a drink of apple juice. I went to get another glass of juice and it was empty, I couldn't see a member of staff so I got orange instead, but black bits came out in it. As I looked up a waitress was clearing a table so I went to explain this, she tutted, took it off me and brought me a fresh one back. This was the only service we had from anyone at breakfast, we weren't offered tea and coffee, I noticed another couple across the room were only offered just as they were finishing their breakfast! The only people who actually seemed to want to help were house keeping! They smiled and said hi which to be fair seemed too much trouble for most of the staff. We decided in the afternoon to head back home as we wanted a decent nights sleep. When we tried to check out, we were waiting about 20 minutes as again there was only one person on reception. There was a couple in front of us that had issues checking in, all to do with the hotels administration errors. When we were checking out I explained that we were leaving a day early, she asked why this was and I explained all of the above, I also complained that we were going to be charged the £10 each for the awful breakfast. The lady ended up having the radio the manager, which to be fair seemed like too much trouble at first. They confirmed after much debate between them that there was no balance to be paid on our account, I asked when the funds would be released back into my account, to be told probably about 2 to 3 working days, but they weren't sure! I definitely wouldn't be planning a second visit here, I'm really shocked at the haphazard management and huge lack in customer service, we've also wasted the voucher that was bought for us as a getaway for our wedding.

    « A really lovely hotel stay »

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in room 203. We though the room was very clean, we liked the fact that the room had a safe and I loved the shower! I thought that the bed was comfy, we both slept really well. On our first night we ate in the hotel we both enjoyed the food and the service. I would recommend that you use the leisure facilities at the hotel. It was quite busy on the Saturday morning but we still found that it was clean. We found the staff to be really friendly and helpful. I left my jacket behind in the room when we left and it was shipped back to me with no problem. The only thing we would suggest would be to have a toilet brush in the bathroom. Breakfast is a buffet and my husband helped himself to a full English both mornings. The service for tea and coffee was slow on Sunday but to be fair it was very busy. We both thought the food was very good there was plenty of things to choose from. If we ever go back to Bradford then I would not hesitate to stay here again.

« Used yo be good... »

Went to Bradford on business and took a Swiss colleague. I had stayed at this hotel many times several years ago and always found it extremely acceptable with pleasant staff. However, this trip was a little less acceptable. We tried to book the dining room for dinner but were told that it was full until 9:00pm. Not surprising as it only has about eight tables as what was the dining room is now only for breakfast. So we had to have bar food (burger and chips), which was not the best. The place is starting to look a little tired but as we were having an early meeting in the same hotel, we called it an early night and retired to our rooms. Next morning we had an early breakfast - which wasn't bad but the bacon was floppy and the eggs overcooked - and went into the central area for our meeting. At about 9:00am, we were surprised to find that the staff opened the bar and started serving pints to a group of darts players who were seemingly holding a competition of some description in the hotel; so we had to move across the lounge to be able to hear ourselves speak. I'm not saying that other residents will be faced with boozing darters at 9:00am but maybe the hotel could have provided a waiter service for drinks and delivered them to whichever room the darts where going on. PS: Beds are hard!

    « Disappointing »

Message I sent to the hotel website 2 weeks ago-with a follow up email. No response. Unfortunately I am writing to complain about a stay my husband and I had at your hotel on 5th October. We were genuinely amazed to be shown to the 'restaurant' for our evening meal (it appeared to be part of the reception lobby with no decoration whatsoever) and then disappointed that we had to ask for our table to be cleaned (which was done promptly) and to have to ask for the floor to be swept as there was rubbish strewn across it. We have never had to ask for a restaurant floor to be cleaned before! At breakfast we heard other guests having to ask for their table to be cleaned. Having a clean table is a basic requirement for any hotel, let alone a 4*. The breakfast looked appetising, but the cooked breakfast was very disappointing, with the hash brown close to inedible. It had evidently been in the hot dish for hours and was all shrivelled up. After breakfast, we went in the health club. The changing rooms again were dirty, with a broken lock on one of the (toilet I think) doors. The jacuzzi was broken, because someone put too much chlorine in it on Sunday we were told(and regularly does this, apparently) and then while we were in the steam room we were told it had to be closed as it wasn't reaching the required temperature. The sauna floor was dirty too, with a plastic bottle on the floor, and had obviously not been checked by staff. The staff were very friendly throughout the hotel, so I am sad to have to write this email, but the hotel does appear to lack cleaning staff. While these issues seem relatively small (though I would hope that a lack of cleanliness was seen as a significant issue) as a collective they left us very dissatisfied. From what staff were saying, it was obvious that the hotel is a conference/business hotel, not designed for couple stays. If this is the case, then it should not advertise on groupon etc. Before I write a very critical review on tripadvisor etc, I would be grateful for a response from yourselves.

« Great hotel, fantastic food, but lack of staff! »

I booked myself and my partner a weekend away for his birthday and having visited this hotel before for weddings and when delivering flowers but never actually staying, I guess my expectations for the hotel rooms were very high. I bought the break off Groupon and when I saw it I couldn't, not book it! The room was clean, well furnished, and decorated to a high standard! It is the 26th of October today and we checked out of the hotel yesterday, me and my partner both with back and neck pain. The bed was okay, for one night. I at 18 years of age could not have stayed in it for any longer period of time! I'm not here to have a windge and a moan as I try to be fair when reviewing and I could see how hard the staff that the hotel had were working. Breakfast was phenomenal! I would go as far as to say that it is the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel! There was so much variety and none of the food was cold or reheated! It was ALL fresh!!!! The only thing that niggled me quite a bit was the fact that when we checked in at 2pm and went up to our room on the 3rd floor, there were trays of half eaten food all down the corridor. Now i understand they can't have staff constantly patrolling the corridors for empty food bowls and cutlery but when me and my partner left the hotel at 7pm and returned at around 10:30pm, they had still not been moved. I am a bit of a germ freak and i understand this wouldn't of bothered the majority but I don't think it was lack of care from the staff i feel it was purely innocent and that they just didn't have the staff on to be able to clear it!!! I would lie if I said I wouldn't return but I think knowing what i know now, i would go and speak to reception about the problems i encountered!

Me and my husband had a Groupon voucher. Fantastic value. Hotel was beautiful. Staff lovely and friendly . On arrival we were asked if we had a preferance of room requested somewhere quiet as there was a wedding on plus we had a night off from our daughter. We used the pool and jacuzzi etc was lovely and relaxing and fairly quiet. Room was ok the bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were the same and the doors were very heavy and you heard a few bangs and the tv qas not central to the bed which was strange. Food was great although with the voucher we had the menu was limited but for £8.95 each we got an upgrade with a few more options. Breakfast was lovely had lots of choice. All in all it was a great stay and would definitely stay again.

Weekend (Groupon) stay at this easy to access hotel on the outskirts of Bradford. Spacious, comfortable, clean and well appointed rooms. The Wifi in the room was very good, some of the best I have experienced on my travels. Our inclusive evening meal on the Friday night was disappointing and poorly executed. I would rather have dinner in another restaurant and there are plenty within easy access. Breakfast on both mornings was very good, hot, plentiful with lots of variety. The supply of breakfast items was regularly "topped up" The waiting staff were friendly and very efficient, no problems here. Definitely would stay again in the future on a B&B basis.

Best 4* hotel, great location nice staff members. They truly exceeded our expectations. Their breakfast was great, room was clean and Cousy. The fact that the room rates were so cheap I thought their services wouldn't be good usually cheap is sometimes associated with quality. But these guys here offer excellent quality at low cost, would highly recommend them wouldn't fault them in any single way. See you soon Bradford #cedarcourtleeds

« Good if you want a Swimming Pool »

Spent 1 night on a weekend. The hotel itself is very pleasant with well furnished rooms and well maintained plumbing. The TV had millions of channels and was easy to use. WiFi worked well and was easy to log onto. All the lights in the bedroom were neon type that you have to wait a few seconds before they come on, But my main criticism is the state of the the pillows. They were small, scrawny bags of foam that provided little comfort. The only reason I got any sleep was probably the drinks from the nice bar downstairs. There is good sized indoor pool with a Jacuzzi in the same space. Access is free to residents and well worth a go. Breakfast was a buffet with quite a reasonable selection and was very fairly priced. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Good for a stopover.

« Nice Best Western Hotel »

We use Best Western Hotels a lot. This one was in good order we had a clean modern room on floor 4. Lifts to all floors so no problem. Spa was great although steam room was out of order (didnt bother us). We had a Groupon deal which included one night evening meal of two courses which again was good. Staff all friendly and helpful. Breakfast gets very busy so i'd say go earlier rather than later if you can. Its a buffet breakfast and really great with lots of choices. Location is on a busy roundabout but road noise minimal. We caught a bus into Bradford and visited the Cathedral and Media museum - Little Germany etc. Bus stop about 10 mins walk away near Matalan. There is also a Morrisons close by if you need anything. Only SLIGHT criticism was that the doors to the room are noisey as they close and you always get guests less considerate than yourselves in closing them! I think it would be good if the hotel looked at some 'soft' close mechanism if possible. Apart from that everything was great and would recommend.

« Lovely Hotel, terrible sleep »

The hotel itself was very clean, the room (110) was well cleaned and had everything we needed, all the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was of a good standard and the Spa facilities were good although the steam room was out of order. My only problem was a constant noise which sounded like a pump or a fan starting every 2 to 3 minutes and lasting about 20 seconds throughout the whole night which resulted in practically no sleep whatsoever annoyingly the noise stopped early in the morning about 7:30 . I would have given full marks for the Hotel but the lack of sleep completely ruined an otherwise enjoyable stay.

    « Fantastic stay »

From the moment I booked this hotel (directly) to the moment I left this hotel, I was nothing short of been extremely satisfied. The staff are what make this hotel. Every employee I came into contact with, went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. A big shout out to the breakfast team and receptionists! I work for a Best Western Plus in London (all independently owned) and this hotel is fantastic at what it does. The rooms are pleasant and extremely clean. The food was great value, and tasted great. Thank you ever so much for my stay, I will definitely be staying again!!

    « Weekend Break »

I got a Groupon deal for my partner's birthday and was very impressed to note that it could be used on weekends. We arrived early on Saturday 10 October and were allowed into our room about 30 minutes early, which was very helpful. The room was lovely, clean and spacious and the bathroom was of very good quality and looked brand new. We spent most of the afternoon in the spa facilities which whilst a little small, were still comfortable and a nice add-on for us as a couple. Evening meal was next and although we were on a Groupon, we still got a decent choice of food and opted for Chicken and Bacon Ceaser to start and Chicken Tikka for main - both were delicious. We shared a chocolate dessert and this was amazing. A few relaxing drinks in the bar and we retired to the room - with one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in. The breakfast buffet probably impressed my boyfriend the most the next day - there was great selection and all of it was freshly put out on a regular basis, which was good as you knew the food you were eating was fresh and hot. We left at around 10.40am, just before check out and were very pleased with excellent value for money in a clean, modern and quite upmarket looking hotel. Would definitely recommend to others!

    « very unhappy experience »

arrived at reception and they could not find our reservation, after a long wait it was eventually found. i had reserved a twin room and was given a double room which in our case was unacceptable for medical reasons.was told at reception no other rooms available but they would put a single bed in the room. this was done but it was a camp bed, about 6 inches from the floor which was not acceptable again for medical reasons, they then offered to move us to a different hotel but were not prepared to move my daughter with us a family birthday was the reason for our visit altogether a very unhappy experience..

« Great hotel for a wedding reception »

Stayed at this hotel in July for my grandson's wedding reception. The whole visit was perfect, lovely food, excellent service. Our room was a standard twin-bed, clean and functional. Breakfast the next morning was included in the price of our room, and was a buffet style with plenty of choice. Near to the motorway, and well run establishment. The hotel had a gym, but we did not use it as only stayed overnight.

    « Bargain weekend »

We had another groupon special deal for two nights which may I say was excellent value but the hotel really needs a leader can we say a huge thank you to JENSON on reception what a delightful pleasant young man who never stopped smiling all the time we saw him he resolved an issue for us before we arrived at the hotel and his excellent service never stopped but that's were it ended we had a drink early afternoon the bar area was un kept so many staff not cleaning tables or taking glasses away shocking when we went down for our evening meal everything was the same food plates glasses everywhere in fact we could not find a clean table so we did it ourselves !!!! Even though staff were walking or talking but not working no one thanked us our evening meal was lovely and tasty compliments to the chefs but we waited and waited no one Came to take our order after nearly an HOUR I asked a staff member who only managed a grunt we eventually got our food but no wine that story's to long to explain our first breakfast was to say the least chaotic again so many staff and none doing anything apart from walking around they even looked at tables that needed cleaning and did nothing our second night was a shock how can you have the cheek to charge nearly £17 for some pasta ... People walked out of the restaurant as we did we ended up in the dirty bar area still with the same shambles of staff but we had a very nice bar snack at superb value on Sunday we went for breakfast at 9.30 it was once again busy but this time even worse I went to find someone to help clean our table her face was blank we asked her for a pot of tea when it came she slammed it down I am a very easy going person it has to be bad for me to complain but we were very disappointed in the unhelpful uninterested staff who should all look for jobs elsewhere I have worked in hotels we were trained to respect our guests at all times and to always tidy iT wasn't all bad the room was lovely spacious and spotless but we won't be in a hurry to return on checking out we chatted away to other residents who all had the same issues we never saw a manager apart from Jenson who you should promote !!!

    « Outstanding »

We really loved our stay at this Best Western hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful at all times. They really went the extra mile on a few occasions. Our room was fantastic. Everything was clean and immaculate. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The bath and shower were amazing. I was really impressed. We made use of the swimming pool and sauna/steam room facilities. The steam room perhaps needs to be a little bigger as it was quite popular and you could only get four or five people in at a time. But overall, the leisure facilities were very good. The evening menu was lovely too. I had tomato soup which was very tasty and then bbq ribs for my main. They were excellent. My girlfriend remarked how much she enjoyed her meal too. The only downside to the restaurant area is that it was set out in a corner of the main reception area of the hotel so it felt like it lacked any real atmosphere, especially as there was no mood lighting or candles or flowers on the tables. Breakfast was set in a different room and was absolutely outstanding. The food was lovely and hot and I think that they only use local ingredients. The sausage especially was very good. I couldn't fault it at all. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We only stayed one night but we are already looking at staying again some time, maybe for a couple of nights so we can head into Bradford one night as we didn't get the opportunity to do it this time round. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    « Weekend break »

It needs to up its game. We were first shown to a group nda floor room. It was dingy, not clean around and he skirting boards. The mattress was sunken and the duvet cover was that n and wrinkled. The ensuite smelled of stale urine. We complained and were moved to the 4th floor. It was much better and as it should be. One of the bar staff was rude and most unhelpful. (Stella) I love nformed the Duty Manager

« Great Service, Food and Staff, Excellent Value for Money »

A great hotel with nice feel and layout. I stay here regularly on business, the food is very good and the staff are very helpful, with nothing being too much to deal with. Every meal I have had here (and there have been many) has been very good, so much so I have often taken pictures of my food and placed them on facebook, they are so tasty. My room is always spacious and comfortable and the bar and lounge area are relaxed with a good atmosphere. At £60 per night its great value for money, this is my preferred hotel in the Bradford area.

    « Don't book if there is a wedding! »

We booked this Best Western while taking our daughter to Leeds uni, an overnight stay and back to London. We booked a Best Western based on the experience we received previously on the south coast which was a world away from this experience. We had booked dinner bed and breakfast. On arrival we were told there was a wedding as a consequence would be eating in a off shoot area, no big deal. On arrival at dinner which we had which we had already had to delay by 30mins, we were told, tables were not avalible yet we finally sat down 40mins later and the consequence was delay and utter confusion because the wedding party of which there were two upstairs and down caused, huge delay to service and quality of the food. Not really the individual staffs fault but pretty obvious that any sysytems they had in place had broken down and resulted in very poor food and quality of customer service. overall the staf was not as good as the previous best western we had stayed in. would I stay here again ... to be honest no nor would I recogmend to another. Unless its different on a non wedding day?

« AVOID! £100 Parking charges for paying guests. SCAM. »

I had arranged a series of meeting for myself and a couple of clients to meet in Cedar Court Hotel over a 3 week period. This has resulted in a total of £400 being dished out in parking charges being issued by Parking Eye for about 1 hour of parking. On complaining to the hotel I was told that I should have read the signs on the tables (which believe it or not is my main concern to read hotel literature when conducting a business meeting). Neither myself or my clients saw any of these signs resulting in the charges. To the Manager and Directors: What a wonderful way to treat people who use your facilities I would also note that the car park was practically empty at the time. If you feel the need to justify charging for parking, why not install a barrier and a ticket system which is unavoidable on entry? Or does this mean you would not make as much money by stealth? Absolutely disgusted, and as someone who uses such places on a regular basis for meetings I shall be avoiding from now on and I suggest others do the same (That also includes Best Western). That is certainly what I will be suggesting to my business network, colleagues and friends.
