A great hotel which I stay at frequently. The staff are always very friendly, the breakfast superb and the amenities, with the swimming pool great. The only negative for me, as a business guest, is the wi-fi is very poor so I often have to use my mobile hotspot.
Is this the same hotel as in the photos? Our room wasn't that great, the outdoor hot tub looked like it hadn't been used in a couple of years, there was no sauna. Breakfast was mediocre at best, no elevator, the shower was so weird I didn't take one.
We stayed for one night as we were driving through and were pleasantly surprised...it is being stone walls but very central...reminded me of old California hotels from the movies. The receptionist on duty was really friendly and helpful. It is a few minutes walk to shopping and restaurants.
We wanted to break the journey from Florence to Barcelona, and this fitted the bill perfectly: easy to find and close to the motorway, free parking on site, nice little pool to relax from the heat and stress of the journey, very friendly reception and staff, always ready to help, a short 20 min walk to the centre of Nimes (Las Arenas). The room was clean and adequate, and breakfast was OK (though no fresh juice :-( ). We'll be back again if we do a similar journey.
Most enjoyable stay at this pretty hotel, located a 10-minute walk into Nimes historical centre. Greeted at Reception by a friendly and very helpful member of staff, easy check-in and allocated a room on the first floor. The room was perfect, cool, and when we opened the wooden shutters were delighted by the little terrace with table, chairs and the view over the pool. Great air con, very comfortable bed, fridge, tea, and coffee. Plenty of space and very tranquil :) The bathroom was small but practical, the toilet was separate. Breakfast was standard, not too many options but enough to start the day, the croissants were delicious as were the other pastries and warm French bread. As the weather was superb, we ate outside a couple of times. Location wise, within walking distance to the town centre, some chain group restaurants across the road on the retail park along with shops like Lidl and Aldi. Considering the proximity of this hotel to the busy road we did not experience any noise at night. Great choice of hotel, very happy with our selection and would stay here again.
The bill was 96 euro. The staff charged us 255.- Euro. She didn't manage to book it back on my bank card, so we settled in cash. Then she returned the wrong amount, thinking the breakfast was extra (it was included). Also, she did not even try to speak English, but spoke French very fast although she could see we had no clue what she was saying. She just kept on rattling in French . The garden area was not lit, and pitch dark. Our room had to be reached from outside, via a narrow stairs. In the dark.. The entrance to the hotel was hard to find from the road, the parking lot was full of water poodles. Internet did not work at all. We had to make an appointment for breakfast time. When we arrived at that timing all the tables were dirty, and there was nothing left. Only same old baguette, a couple of bread leaves. No bread toppings, no cups. Not even jam/confiture. The staff/guy did not know what to do. We left, and got a refund for the breakfast (which was 13 euro per person!). It really was our worst hotel stay ever!! And not up to standard of Best Western.
Newly renovated, hotel beautiful garden and pool. Very clean, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms a bit small. Great view of mountains. Good parking. Shopping mall with all facilities across the street including cheap gasoline station.
We wanted a place to stay one night travelling back from holiday and this place does the job. It is conveniently placed between motorway and city centre. Nice personnel but the hotel needs a renovation. Quality price ratio is not good.
Staff helpful, hotel nice but location for Nimes centre is not good in the Mediterranean heat, once we worked out buses was much easier. We didn't eat in the restaurant as they were other close by that were better value.
Hotel l'orangerie is easily accessed from the autoroute but not so close to city center when on foot. It offers good private parking and nice rooms but no elevator. The approach through a very pretty courtyard with an illuminated pool could be improved by adding a paved walkway from the parking to the current gravel access. The personnel was very friendly and helpful, including carrying a large suitcase to the second floor for a guest (there is no elevator).
Honestly we chose this hotel as we've never been disappointed in any of the BW in the US. It seems the standard in France is in fact far different... Having toured the south of France, we reached Nimes with rather heavy luggage. Unfortunately, there is no luggage trolley to transport your luggage on the gravel area leading to the entrance, neither is there an elevator (which is undertandable due to the age of the manor) though no help was available on arrival. We were assigned room 16 ( remember and make sure to avoid it.... ). This room is the closest to the highway and the round about nearing the hotel. Needless to say, it is noisy, very noisy... To top this off, the bathroom faucet was leaking and in the morning, the toilet got clogged... Breakfast was ok. I have to mention that we were not even offered a word of apology. Service " a la francaise" .....
We used this hotel as an overnight stopover. Parking and hotel were great. Would rate the accomodations about 3.5 stars. Rooms and hotel were very clean, somewhat aged. Gave it a 4 star rating due to the very good price for what you get. Breakfast was good. For fellow North Americans this place was very akin to a good Super 8 or Day's Inn.
Stopped here on a bike tour and had a great time, staff super helpful and friendly, facilities great, rooms spotless, and a great breakfast. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Nimes. Free parking.
I really don't understand the good reviews for this hotel. True, it isn't awful but it certainly isn't great either. We stayed in the hotel for two nights, taking three rooms. The rooms were all on the small side, the two double rooms were particularly small. They did both have a balcony which was nice, although the road noise wasn't great. The two double room bathrooms were tiny, a very small separate toilet and then the bathrooms were very small with a tiny bath with overhead shower and single sink. The family room was bigger and had a bathroom with the toilet in it, but it was still small and the bath was tiny. The rooms had a small fridge which was great, the minibar was pretty much empty which made room for our own bottles of water, although two out of the three fridges were far from cold. If you had wanted drinks from the minibar you may well have been left disappointed, mine contained one small bottle of water, one can of beer and one can of coke. The others were equally sparse and random in their contents. The room also comes with a small tray with tea bags (again, pretty random), coffee sachets, sugar and those lovely little pots of uht milk. Except that our milk was empty, clearly used by the previous occupant and not checked and cleaned properly. Lovely. The room had airconditioning, which consisted of a lot of noise and very little air, especially frustrating as the road noise meant that keeping the window open was not an option. Even with the windows closed the noise still woke us all at varying points. The swimming pool had looked lovely on the website and as we had children in our party who love to swim we were planning to make good use of the pool. It is smaller than it looked online and was all one depth, so no shallow or deep end. It was too deep for a tall eight year old to stand in. The water was also pretty cold. There was also a decent sized hot tub, although it didn't really bubble at all so was really a small hot pool. On our second evening we returned from dinner and found the pool empty, reception informed us it was being cleaned overnight and would be refilled very early the next morning so that it would be ready to use by the time people had finished breakfast. Our children were very disappointed to discover that the pool remained empty the following morning and that they only began filling it just before ten am. The breakfast was also a huge disappointment. The croissants were tiny and dry, the type you buy mass-produced. There was not a single bit of fruit to be seen either. The second morning one of the juices tasted fizzy and off. Having paid to have breakfast included we were disappointed and the second morning we went to the bakery just opposite the hotel and bought ourselves a croissant each which we then ate with our breakfast. They also had melon on the second day but this was not left out for you to take, instead, it was passed around by staff on plates. The whole place felt in need of updating and we were left very disappointed with our stay, I certainly wouldn't return.
Small Best Western just a little away from The Arena (20 min walk ). Nice little pool which is good after a hot day sight seeing. Had a room on ground so a little patio and pool out front. Room small but ok, tea/coffee, safe and aircon, bed comfy a little bit short on storage drawers. Staff very helpful our breakfast included and was ok. An ok base for Nîmes and it's sites and only 10/15 min walk to train station..
Room was big enough for 2 adults and 1 child. En suite had a full size bath. Plenty of storgae in room for clothes. We loved the outdoor pool - ideal for cooling off. The staff were very helpful and friendly and happily answered questions about local area. We thought restaurant was bit pricey and had a very limited set menu. It also closes on a saturday night as the chef works elsewhere! Breakfast was 12.50 euros and bearing in mind there is a bakery literally across the road open all day we thought that was steep and went there instead. There are plenty of restaurants and a pub within a 5 minute walk and even a McDonalds very close by. Despite the food cost, we would stay here again and would recommend it for the rooms, staffing and pool.
The room was clean and the beds were ok altough a bit pricy for what you get. The carpets in the corridor need some maintenance as they are stained and worned out. Decent pool. However I paid the invoice when leaving and didn't check it the detail before paying, very naive of me, I wasn't cautious. Found out after we came back from our whole trip that we had been charge 56euros for food and drinks that wasn't ours. Try to contact the hotel twice by email, no answer, nothing. So I can't recommend the place and if you do go there, check your invoice BEFORE paying it. There's quite a bit of mismanagement on that level.
We have stayed here before so knew what to expect, but this hotel and staff keep on surprising us ! 4 of us stayed for 3 nights in the junior suite , opening up on to the pool area . The room was large enough , with separate toilet , and bathroom with a double sink which was very useful. The terrace area was great in giving us extra room. There was a fridge , and enough storage space and very effective air conditioning as we were staying at the beginning of the recent heat wave . Room immaculately clean and quiet. Pool area lovely , quiet and always sun beds available. We were given extra pool towels . Above all it is the staff that make this place ! Super friendly and helpful, giving us ice when needed , and sweets as it was our friends Birthday! We were visiting to see the Elton John concert in Les Arenes and they wished us well , and after asked how it was . Fantastic hotel , a little quirky oasis! We are all ready planning our next trip back ....
This hotel can be hard to find - even with a good sat nav in our hire car we went round the area twice before realising it tis straight off the roundabout. Lovely outdoor (unheated) pool and surrounding area. Helpful young reception staff but got fed up with me after the third time I told them there was no Wi-Fi reception in our room. You have to sit in reception to get a reliable connection. Our room was great - although it looked onto the busy road , closing the windows blocked out the noise and there was a good air con system. I would NOT advise eating here. There is a very limited menu and even then the rude French waiter said "Non" to two of choices. Food was OK but nothing special. The breakfast was better. Overall good hotel but they need an IT person to sort out the routers.
An amazing second experience staying at L'Orangerie. Room was perfect with a great view from the balcony especially at sunset. The ferier festival started during my stay which was very entertaining and I would advise anyone to stay in Nîmes during this time. The staff were amazing, always happy to talk and spoke great English. I was very happy to see one of the reception staff still remembered me from my 7 day trip in January! All in all it was a great experience, with very good accommodation for the price and outstanding staff. It is just sad that I will not be returning to Nîmes sooner for work. Thank you all at Best Western L'Orangerie for a memorable trip that I will not soon forget.
This hotel sits just under a mile from the center of Nimes and its ancient landmarks. It's an old school place, with classic artwork and artifacts dotting the property. There are few spots where L'Orangerie shows her age, but to me these make her feel more like a home. The room keys are the kind you have to slide in and turn. And you leave the key with the friendly front desk staff when you leave the premises. The breakfast buffet is fresh and simple with enough choices for all.
Nice, small hotel, I think it would be delightful in the warmer months. Lovely terrace area with small pool. Staff friendly, helpful and speak English. Good sized bed and pleasant room opening onto terrace with chairs and table. Restaurant menu limited but adequate.
A western styled hotel with wonderful small details for would find in a continental boutique hotel. Location is within easy walking distance of the antiquities in Nimes. grocery and restaurants were also very convenient. Parking was safe convenient and free.
Room lovely, staff excellent, plenty of free car parking. Air con included at no extra cost - good for the Summer ?? I found a number of nice restaurants in walking distance. Very short trip (5 mins) to the centre of Nîmes Great for a short stay.
We received a wonderful welcome at Reception and really good advice in the bar on the local vineyards and their wine! Room was clean with 4 beds (one for each of us) and a great shower in the en suite. The pool area looked lovely, as did the whole hotel.
We were in this hotel for one night. It is situated close to the lovely center of Nîmes. Rooms are ok, breakfast buffet exceeds the French standard for what you would expect from a continental breakfast. All in all very ok and good value.
A hotel with all modern conveniences yet still retains old fashioned charm. on arrival Isobel looked after us and supplied plenty of information. we had a superior room with pool view and it was just delightful with a great terrace. The swimming pool is excellent and very welcoming. This hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the magnificent historical centre of Nimes and with provided parking could not be better located. We did not sample the restaurant although it was clearly very popular but we certainly enjoyed the facilities of the bar with a lovely glass of wine at the pool.
This hotel is located 20 minutes walk to city center and the arena, easy to access by car with free parking. Comfortable rooms, the pool area and the yard outside is cozy and the personnel take good care of you.
Family of three stayed in the triple room. very nice size for France. Very clean hotel. Nimes is a big city - bigger than we thought. This place is an oasis from the hustle of the city. Sat by the pool for snacks every afternoon. The hot tub was there, but you paid to heat it up if you wished to use it. Charming inside and out. Everyone on the staff was most friendly! Recommend for sure.
Stayed for 4 nights in March. Hotel is out of Nimes and you need a car to use this hotel. We did not have breakfast as i felt it was well overpriced, we went to a boulangerie 100 yards away which was excellent. Accommodation was very good as well as the service. No evening meals available. Overall we enjoyed our stay
I had flown into Carcassonne from Dublin. I was headed to Maria de la Mare. After the flight and drive I was burnt out. I knew I had to take shelter. I turned into driveway that said Hotel. It was such an simple and inauspicious drive that I had no idea where I would be laying my head. What I found was a veritable oasis. When it came time to check out, I did not wish to leave. Everything about this location was presented with an unassuming perfection. The staff was accommodating, helpful and friendly. As I sat on my balcony eating a delicious meal, I drank in this piece of art that is Best Western L'Orangerie. I had two different rooms during my stay and each was eclectically unique. Whoever did the interior and exterior design of this location has my praise. Isobel was so very helpful handling multiple job functions with ease.
We recently had three wonderful nights at this hotel. On arrival we received a very warm welcome from the staff at reception which made an immediate impression. A young fellow named Julien helped us with our large amount of luggage which was greatly appreciated. Our deluxe room was spacious and looked out over the pool. Other than not having a lift we have no complaints. The hotel has eating places and a supermarket close by and is about a 15 min stroll from the Arena and old city. Great hotel and great staff. We would stay here again.
This hotel is pleasant, the rooms are simple, we had one with what was described as a terrace but was just a little sitting area outside by the pool, it would not have afforded any privacy. The room was ok and the bathroom. Breakfast was not as good as some Best Westerns but was OK. We both slept quite well despite a lumpy pillow. One problem is the entry to reception and the car park are gravel paths ,very difficult to wheel suitcases over. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby for dinner.
Nice hotel. Helpful service. Good breakfast. At times wifi can get slow. Many restaurants nearby. Beds are somewhat worn. Nimes is central location to explore Arles and Avignon. Nice shower. Close to autoroute. About 1 mile from train.
In the searing heat of August, the shady garden and pool here are very much to be appreciated. It was lovely to have breakfast outside on the terrace before the day heated up. Breakfast was great, with regional specialities and a good selection of cheeses and charcuterie. We found the family room to be an ideal size, with a king-size bed and two singles for the children, and efficient air-conditioning which kept the room at a pleasant temperature. The lady at reception was very helpful and showed us routes to walk and drive into town, plus where to park.
Our main concern with this hotel was the family suite room. From looking at the website, it appeared that the suite featured a room with a double bed plus an additional room with two single beds. Upon arrival, the suite was actually one room with the double bed plus two single beds squeezed in. For a family of four including two grown-up teenage children the room was simply not big enough. We paid a premium price for the accommodation due to the Vuelta cycle race being in town - breakfast was not included in the price – with the room being very poor value for money. The breakfast itself was just about ok. The hotel is generally looking a little dated. On a positive note the hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The swimming pool is a nice place to cool off. It's not heated though so you probably won't be staying in it for long. All in all, a disappointing visit in a family room which was far too small for four people.
Easy reception , friendly staff and a good clean room . The location is a 20' minute walk to town , but the bonus is its quiet . It has a pool and a large car park . This place is a little gem and well worth considering.
A wonderful place to wake up in and come back to - such friendly and helpful staff and beautiful grounds. My double room opened out into a manicured area by the pool, just magic. Totally satisfying breakfast and great room facilities - safe, minibar, a/c, TV. I will definitely be coming back and it's very rare that I feel like that about a place.
We recently stayed at this BW for two nights while traveling through Nimes. The staff was friendly and our check in was a very smooth experience. However I can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that actually gave you a real key to your room instead of a key card. Nonetheless it was a classic BW experience. Our three rooms were clean and each was uniquely different. The beds were OK but not great. We had a couple rooms that opened right into the pool area. The pool was nice and refreshing during the couple hot days we stayed in Nimes. Breakfast was pretty scarce. Not much to choose from and once it was gone it didn't seem to get refreshed. Wifi was spotty our entire stay. Our rooms by the pool experienced more outages that actual wifi. There's free parking at the hotel but not a lot of spaces. We found it fairly easy to get into the city center and there is a nice Tabla Pizza restaurant across the street. If you're fine with a 1970's retro Best Western hotel experience with southern French charm then this hotel is for you. If you're looking for a more modern updated experience then try another hotel.
Nice hotel , good food, only problem we asked up front if there was always safe parking behind the hotel as i have a open car, and was Yes no problem! Only when we came all spaces taken only up front at the street , but as i was smoking outside i saw from the bar next to the hotel two ladies walking that left with two cars! So the parking is also used by the bar next door while people cant park there car!
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while exploring the city of Nimes and the surrounding area. What can we say, we LOVE this hotel. The grounds and rooms were very well kept and clean. Service was friendly and everyone spoke at least enough English to help us with directions, places to eat, things to do, etc. Housekeeping did a great job keeping our room clean and stocked with towels. Overall, a great hotel. The pool was nice, the hotel was nice, everything was nice. Will stay again. We chose this hotel because we had a rental car and they had free parking, but we will chose this hotel in the future even without a rental car. Great location, and great hotel.
Rooms were clean and comfy free car park always a bonus in France staff really helpful would stay again weather wasn't good enough for the pool but a great all you can eat Chinese over the road with bars for a drink
Lovely stay, remarkably quiet location so near to major roads. Lovely pool if a little cold with alarm fitted so very safe for children. Rooms very comfortable and all furnished differently. Reception staff couldn't be more helpful. An excellent week.
Room with a balcony over looking the pool, 40 inch TV, fridge and free WiFi. About 15 to 20 minute walk to the arena in the town centre or 10 euros for a taxi. 20 euro taxi from airport. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the town and it's attractions. Lovely place to stay for a short weekend trip
Stayed here for two nights and it was pleasant..friendly staff. We came here for the ease and free parking which is very difficult to find in Nimes! We found driving in Nimes difficult and this hotel is on the ring road around the core city and was easy to find when we came into the hotel. The driveway has a sharp turn so try to locate entry signs before turning in. Hotel has a pool, a bar, and breakfast both on patio and lounge. Our room had a safe and small fridge with things you could buy.
We spent 2 nights at the opposite ends of a week in the area: one at the beginning of our stay and one at the end and enjoyed our cool, tasteful rooms both times. The greetings at reception were very cheerful and friendly. I loved the very French feel of the hotel and breakfast was a feast encouraging you to sample some local produces. The swimming pool though not huge provided a pleasant focus point, refreshing to the eyes. We were travelling by train so had to take taxis to travel to and from the railway station. The journey by taxi lasted under 10minutes and once we walked to the arenas in 25 minutes. A little cooler because outside the centre of town which gets really hot in the summer. A lovely place I can recommend and next time we are down there we'll stay a little longer to be able to enjoy the swimming pool properly and the wine bar next to it.
5 enjoyable nights here. Helpful, smilely staff, clean and comfortable room, a nice pool and lovely gardens with lots of seating scattered around. Very relaxing and peaceful - you wouldn't know you're near a fairly busy road.
If you have an early flight from Nimes then this is a reasonably priced stopover and fits the bill. Wouldn't really recommend for a long stay - fairly small rooms and probably a bit tired. Can't believe there is no restaurant in the hotel and as its located in a commercial area the nearby eateries within walking distance aren't great. Friendly and helpful receptionists.
The visit was to see the wonderful David Gilmour, playing in the truly spectacular setting of the Roman amphitheater in Nimes. We stayed at L'Orangerie for 2 nights. This hotel is not in the city, but is a walk of around 20 minutes - NOT a pleasant walk, rather through cement suburbia. The official rating is 3 star, we say 2-3; old fashioned is fine, but this is cheap and seedy decoration - though the pool is a welcome addition. Be warned: not only it is out of town, but it is directly facing the main highway, with no trees to block the view. Ensure you have a room overlooking the pool and not the highway. Pleasant staff, basic facilities.
A wonderful 4 nights spent at this Best Western . Lovely gardens, quiet pool area ( we were often the only ones using it ) and approx 15 min walk from town . There was free use of the jacuzzi during August. We had a standard room overlooking the carpark which was more than adequate , very quiet overnight and effective air conditioning for the hot summer . Daily maid service . The staff of this hotel contribute to my 5 star rating . We were able to check into our room early , they were incredibly helpful (finding my sons mobile behind a sofa in the lounge!) and knowledgable of the area. Also helping my son with his French pronunciation ! We didn't eat at the hotel , but enjoyed the cocktail menu. This was often served with nibbles at no charge . Nicely decor rated throughout , not the typical corporate hotel . 5 stars for fantastic value for money , we plan to return later in the year.
The rooms were small but ok, it had air conditioning, but would rather an open window. There were no fly or security screens on the doors facing the pool area. The shower has no screen and waters the floor every time, and there is no fan so everything gets wet. It has a pool and spa and you can only get breakfast there. There is a bar for some refresments and you can sit in a garden to enjoy it. There is also a wine bar next to the motel for the wine conisuers. There are a variety of pubs and restaurants near by. No good for a family to trudge accross the road. The staff are friendly and very helpful and speak a wide range languages.
We stayed in a superior double room with a balcony and chairs overlooking the swimming pool. The hotel has free parking but is some distance from the centre of Nimes so be prepared for a 20-30 minute walk or take your car. The room and bathroom were rather small but comfortable and quiet. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was very good.
Coming back to this hotel after a day of sight seeing and driving was a pleasure. The hotel is very charming with a lovely pool and green surroundings. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fabulous. The Nimes arena and old town is only a 1km direct walk. It was a pity we could only stay one night!
We recently spent just one night at this hotel, chosen for its convenient location and free parking. What a delightful hotel, lovely receptionist (Anne) who couldn't have been more helpful. The swimming pool looked inviting despite being next to the main entrance of the hotel, we just didn't have time for a swim. The room was clean but I did notice the corridors and furniture were very dusty. On the whole it was a good experience and I would stay again.
I got sick after spending one night here. I have nothing good to say abaout this hotel and I have several experiences like this on several Best Western hotels. I think the reason I got sick was that the carpet in the room was wet (!!!). I would never bring a child to this hotel. The breakfirst was not very good either.
Convenient location, 10 minutes by car from downtown and railway station Large garage Nice hotel with a pleasant pool Breakfast buffet is rather basic, My room was just Ok ( but inexpensive), but bathroom was not Ok. No curtain nor door to the bath, bathroom completely flooded aftre a shower
Rooms were clean and adequate but hotel was a bit further from the town centre than expected and we were surprised to find there was a very loud disco that went on literally next door until 1am on both Saturday and Sunday nights. Fortunately for us we were so tired we managed to get to sleep. However the staff were friendly and the breakfast provided was excellent
We spent 5 days here in June due to the French train strike.Everyone was very kind, helpful and understanding. We had a lovely room with a terrace leading to the pool. Stayed here in 2013. If you are ever in the area you MUST go. A good place to stay while exploring this area.
Wonderful Front Desk Person help in very way that she could. She carried our very heavy luggage up to our rooms and then carried them back down to the lobby at check out. She also made recommendation for things to see and do in Nimes and we took advantage of her suggestions and enjoyed them greatly.
We arrived there around 10 am on January 1, while it was still closed for the holiday. Yet the owners (the entire family with two little boys) were very nice to let us in and put our luggage into the storage room. When we came back in the evening the check in it took us just a couple of minutes, everything was ready. The room was very roomy, clean and its French provincial decor made it so cozy that I can't resist mentioning it. Nice modern bathroom facilities. Good Wi-Fi signal. Free parking. The hotel is 10-15 minutes from the Roman arena and the old town. They don't have an elevator but the front desk guy can help you with your luggage. It's a perfect place for a short stay and great value for the money.
We needed a base from which to explore Nimes and other other centres such as Arles & Pont Du Gard and stayed for 4 nights. Free on site parking was a pre-requisite for us. The common areas such as reception, breakfast room, pool area were nicely furnished and cared for. We asked for tea making facilities in room, no problem. The room was of good size as was the bathroom. Everything worked well. The staff were friendly and helpful as was Madame the owner. The breakfast offered was quite good with eggs as a hot option. While there was no restaurant on site, 100 metres away was the choice of an Irish Pub run by a Spaniard, or a huge Pizzeria which spoilt us for choice. Both provided excellent French style pub food at a very reasonable cost after a long day out. We even managed to convince Madame to sell us one of her stylish foyer table lamps that we managed to get home in one piece
We stayed one night at this hotel and chose due to free car parking and price. It is a good choice if you are driving a car as is ample onsite parking for free and the hotel is quite lovely. The rooms are slightly outdated looking but very clean and comfortable. It would be a lovely setting in the summer months with nice pool and outdoor seating. There is a little wine bar / restaurant onsite external to the main building which looked really nice although was closed for private function the night we stayed. The young man on reception was very friendly and helpful. As the hotel is a little bit away from the old town of Nimes a car may be required (unsure of the public transport availability) and it appeared that only chain/take away style restaurants available in close proximity to the hotel. Recommend staying at this hotel especially if you have a car.
We recently spent 4 nights at this hotel - a regular stop when we visit Nimes. It is old-fashioned but that is part of its charm. We found the accommodation very comfortable and clean. Some of the rooms at the back can be noisy due to road noise but the air-conditioning allowed us to be very comfortable with closed windows. The rooms are individually designed and our other rooms at the front of the hotel had a balcony/terrace. Beds were comfortable and plenty of pillows supplied. There is no restaurant but the bar is adequate and they offer a very economical, tray-served, three-course light meal, if caught hungry. The grounds are charming with a small swimming pool in the front of the house. What is most notable about this hotel are the staff. In particular, the Manager (Directrice) was wonderfully welcoming and helpful. Her staff were equally pleasant and helpful, finding answers to all our random requests for information. English and Spanish are spoken, which was helpful and we could not fault their attention and care about our comfort. I highly recommend this hotel as one outside the bustle of central Nimes, with character and excellent service.
One night to visit Nimes and see the sights. Hotel 20min walk to the centre and the arena, easy to find. Parking available. Standard out of town restaurants nearby which were convenient if not excellent. Staff were very good. Room was lovely with a small terrace next to a pool. Breakfast buffet ok.
We stayed for one night in this hotel recently and really enjoyed our stay.It is a small , friendly hotel about 20 mins walk from the arena. We had a room with a terrace overlooking the swimming pool. There is a bar with outside seating. Breakfast was a substantial buffet. They do not provide an evening meal, but if like us you do not want to walk or drive into Nimes there is a wine bar sharing the grounds which does cheese or meat platters or a hot dish of the day and dessert which we really enjoyed.
Very disappointed - did not do what it said on the tin. Easy to find and parking very useful BUT - very tired throughout accommodation just clean but carpets left a lot to be desired. Sauna 10 euros but needed at least 1 hours notice to get it warm, 4 euros for a very small glass of red from the bar a rip off, website suggests a restaurant - the other reason for choosing this for an over night stay - not open - short walk to an awesome pizza restaurant they recommended retrieved some brownie points for the hotel Staff very pleasant fridge but no kettle in the room Poetic license rules with its website do not be sucked in I was! Expensive for what you got room 216 taps very loose had to hold main supply to turn on
Hotel booked at last minute and proved to be worthwhile stop over point. Quiet location and a short walk to tourist attractions. Would stay again as room adequate for needs and staff friendly. Not sure about food as ate out for evening meal and had breakfast while out for early walk in morning
We chose this hotel for the location and price. The rooms are very comfortable, they have flat screen TV,excellent Wifi and a mini bar. The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath which was excellent. Separate WC and most things that were required for a stay in place in the room, including tea nad coffee etc There is no restaurant, but across the road there is a plethora of restaurants, including Chinese,Japonese,Italien and French as well as the usual fast food outlets. I ate at the Chinese Buffet (excellent) and also the Pizza place, which was really good. The is also a little Wine Bar come bistro in the grounds of the Hotel which was recommended but not tried. The out door pool looked inviting, but far too cold at this time of the Year, would definately go back.
Reasonable location with easy walk to the main sites of Nimes. Very easy to find this hotel and there is good parking. Rooms and service good. There is not really a restaurant on site and not many near by but 10 mins walk up just one street takes you into town where there are many eating places. Good boulangerie in the shopping area across the road.
