Best Western Discovery Inn

This motel is conveniently located to I-40. Reservation and check in staff are friendly and professional. The rooms are nicely and comfortably furnished and clean. Bed and pillows are comfy. The breakfast room is welcoming. The lady who prepares and keeps the breakfast food available is THE BEST. Food is ready and hot and well prepared and ready to go at 600 a.m. for travellers who want to hit the road. We hope Best Western does whatever it takes to keep her, as she represents the hotel well.

Bed was comfortable, toilet was at a comfortable height,and I was recognized as a Diamond Select member upon reaching the check in. Breakfast was excellent with ample choices even towards the end of the serving time. We would stay at this hotel again, if we were traveling through Tucumcari.

A very friendly lady checked us in on a Tuesday evening on our way out west. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable but the toilet is the height for child! We asked for a different room after seeing the room, but were told at the front desk, all the rooms had the same toilets. So while everything else was good, I could only give the hotel 3 stars because of that issue. If you don't have a bad back, this is a good friendly place to stay! Also, don't stay in a room to the back of the hotel, it is noisy from the interstate. NOTE: You can see the height of the toilet compared to a gallon jug of water in my picture

We travel a lot and generally stay in Hilton hotels. Most don't compare to this place. Well thought out amenities, very comfortable bed with good pillows, water is hot and has a great pressure. The breakfast was very good for free. Good coffee, decent sausage and the green chile sauce was delicious. Actually made the "scrambled" eggs good.

The whole team here went above helping out with reservations and the breakfast was awesome while the room was spacious and clean! Everything you could have wanted was available and the bed. Very comfortable!

This hotel is across the street from a convenience store and having been my second time here, I appreciate the large area for truck parking and the on-site restaurant makes the stay much easier. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful.

I'm always comfortable staying here. The rooms are very accommodating and clean. I always enjoy the breakfast that includes Green Chili Stew. The staff are also very accommodating and friendly. Thank you for keeping this Inn welcoming and for always making me want to come back to.

This is a little hotel in a little town just off the interstate. It isn't trying to be fancy or luxury. But they've made an effort to personalize the experience and it is very clean. We chose it based on TA reviews and it was absolutely worth it. While not usually a fan of motels that open to the outside, it felt safe and well tended. It is an older place but more than fine.

I would highly recommend this Best Western. The staff was pleasant, we were even given cookies at check in. They were accommodating. Breakfast was great. Most important the room was clean and no bugs anywhere.

This was a great hotel. There is ceramic tile on the floor which was great for our pet, no smell of other dogs to tempt her! The breakfast was awesome, there was someone there to make sure everything was refilled promptly and wipe the tables down when people left.

Efficient check in, fairly priced, clean, modern and friendly staff! Stay was relaxing and just what we needed after a long day on the road. Appreciate the friend staff and clean rooms with great amenities!

Right off the freeway was a plus! It wasn't noisy at all! Staff was great! Rooms were comfortable and breakfast just blew me away! It was so good and the staff was amazing down there! Made you feel welcome and comfortable!

Nice hotel with easy freeway access. We travel thru the area a few times a year and usually spend a night here. Everything you need when traveling is close by. Quiet hotel with great parking. Pricing is alway reasonable and hotel is clean and the staff is alway friendly.

This was, hands down, one of the cleanest motels we've stayed in for quite a while...and one of the friendliest too! Our room had 2 queen beds, a table, two chairs, a bench, and believe it or not, a patio with two chairs! Also, the bathroom had a good shower/tub, a sink in the bathroom, and a sink on the outside. We didn't actually need this, but having traveled with more than two of us many times, this would be a great asset! It was an excellent breakfast… Waffles, cream of wheat, sausage, biscuits, eggs, hashbrowns, two kinds of gravy, watermelon, yogurt, plenty of breads and muffins, and everything clean and organized, not to mention delicious. Every worker we encountered was cheerful and greeted us. Can't remember the last time I made notes to stay again if we are ever in the area...thanks to all the Best Western workers!

Great place to stop if you pull up for a night or longer in Tucumcari. Best breakfast option during a 15 night vacation/ business trip. Stayed here 23 years ago and hotel is no worse for wear. Helpful front desk staff who recognized us as BW members. Breakfast attendant also helpful and involved. Eggs and waffles are the main offers. Restaurant on property closed the Monday night we were there.

Clean, lots of hot water, high water pressure (you've been warned, lol), well lighted parking, great breakfast (green chili gravy is outstanding). Lots of dinner options nearby. Two story but no elevator.

The room was great for a small town. It had everything you would want if you are traveling with a family. The pool was nice and had a shallow and deep end, the breakfast was fresh daily. Would definitely visit again.

This was the nicest Best Western I've ever stayed at. We were just making a stop along I-40 for a good night's rest on a long road trip. I would definitely stay here again. The complementary breakfast was better than most like it. It was very clean and o felt safe.

Rooms are pretty standard, outdoor entrance style motel. Employees were friendly. Breakfast good with eggs, potatoes, green chili sauce, biscuits, thin gravy, pancakes, waffles, yogurt. We were on the side away from the highway and didn't have a problem with noise. The pool area was closed when we visited. The exercise room is small but serviceable. There is a convenience store and restaurant nearby. The only problem we had was a malfunctioning light switch for a decorative rope light across the armoire; we weren't able to turn off that light, and unfortunately didn't discover it until we were going to sleep, so we just hung bedspreads over the light and reported it as we were leaving. Other than that our stay was nice and we'd consider staying here again when passing through.

This was a great overnight stay. It actually would be a great stay in warm weather. Our room had a patio that overlooked the mesa….but it was to cold to enjoy. The room was clean and modern. The breakfast was GREAT with several options that I haven't seen before at a BW. Fresh strawberries, green chili sauce that was delicious and even packaged uncrustables.

We just came here to sleep overnight because the roads got iffy. The front desk person was nice and offered me water and cookies. The beds were warm and the room was quiet. We left without eating breakfast, but it smelled yummy. The area seemed safe as well.

This was a fantastic Best Western. Breakfast buffet was exceptional. Room was clean, staff friendly, easy on/off the I40. You won't be disappointed with this hotel. The parking is a little cramped if you drive a big pickup like we do, but we managaed.

Location is convenient from Hwy. 60 and I-40. Good parking. Efficient and friendly check in staff. Nice room with comfy bed and good linens. Good shower with good water pressure and hot water (on the second floor). Very nice breakfast with many hot choices of eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, and waffles, as well as bagels, yogurts, juices, coffee. Many tables and the attendant keeps food coming.

WORST WESTERN Discrimination and Rudeness I was traveling from Nashville TN to Sacramento California with my Daughter, two grandkids and a Service K9 I was told that there were no rooms available and all pet rooms had been booked. I explained that this was not a pet and that it was a Service K9 the front desk clerk repeated that it did not matter and that there were no rooms available. I then advised her that she read up on the ADA laws and that it does not matter whether or not it was a Service animal or not it was still considered a pet. After I mentioned ADA Laws regarding service animals she then started to back peddle and stated that she could put my daughter and grand kids in a downstairs room and I with my Service K9 in a top floor back room but would have to charge me for two rooms. I then said forget it and made reservations in Santa Rosa adding additional drive time where we were already tired and had a long days drive Santa Rosa was not much better

Perfect easy on/off interstate location, but quiet comfy rooms. Very clean, check in easy and quick. Breakfast was outstanding, older hotel but very well maintained. Don't miss the cookies! and great place to eat almost in parking lot

I have stayed at this hotel twice in the past year and once 6 years ago. My first review was an unhappy one. The last two visits were great. The rooms are spacious. This time I had a pet friendly room and it was pretty good. It didn't smell and had tile flooring that is great for pets. I think the room could be a little cleaner. In general it was pretty good but the detail was a little lacking. I think the pet rooms are grouped at the far end of the building. We had a room on the highway side and thought road noise might be an issue but it wasn't. There is a pet area that we used and it looked like most people picked up after their pets. The front desk staff were really super nice and had cookies for guest. Would definitely stay here again.

great room, breakfast different every morning, best staff and Manger ever. We had car problems and Erika the manager got us to where we needed to take our car. She helped us out in a place we had no idea of where to ale our car.

Good clean room, plenty of space. Good quiet heating and AC unit. Great refrigerator. Awesome Shower! Great breakfast plenty of food and choices. Good location quiet and not much road noise. We plan to stay here again. Keep it on your list!

Front desk service was exceptional. We traveled with our two dogs and appreciate the all tiled flooring in our room. Great pet relief area which is fully fenced and lighted. Easy access from and to freeway.

This Best Western is the "Best. Cleanest room I've been in. Most comfortable Bed. Front desk Staff we're 2nd to none. Remarkable Breakfast, Best Cook out there. Trays were keptfull with thw most delicous Breakfast food that we've had in a ling time. Table's constantly being clea n ed. Orange juice filled within minutes of empty notification. He really loves what he does. "

I have stayed at many Best Western's ,but this is by far what they should set the standards for. From the cheerful greeting upon entering the front door. The fresh baked cookies. The very clean room,comfortable bed. 4 pillows on each bed. Everything in room working perfect. Breakfast of biscuits +gravey, cereal, oatmel,Danish, scrambled eggs,sausage ,hash. Red+green sauce,tortillas, milk,juice ect. They had something for everyone..Breakfast was 6-9. went to get ice @5:55 + people were already eating. Wonderful ! Will definitely stay here again !

This is an older hotel but well kept. The rooms were clean and comfortable, good size bathroom and breakfast was decent. Check in and Check out was good. Only complaint we had was the people in the room next door had the tv blaring the entire night. It was still going when we left the next morning.

Breakfast-Exceeded expectations with the food options and the cook made sure to have good, hot food which included eggs, Chile sauce, hash browns,sausage, gravy and waffles. The pool looked clean and well maintained. Only negatives was the odor of room and obvious spots of toothpaste in one of the sinks. Friendly staff.

Wife and I stopped for the night on our way to Colorado for a fall jeep vacation. The restaurant across the parking lot was closed for renovation so the desk staff pointed out that I could park my long truck and trailer in their parking spaces. We had a ground floor room which was very convenient for my wife with mobility issues. I had found a New Mexico state credit card while getting fuel at the Circle K next door and the very nice lady at the desk helped put me in touch with the highway patrolman that dropped it while getting gas. That meetup to return the card turned out to be a highlight of my trip since the trooper that picked it up was a Navy vet like me and we had lots of stories to share. The room was very clean and comfortable and morning breakfast was hot, fresh and plentiful. The bed was comfy and lots of pillows. Everything you could expect from a well appointed and staffed BW.

After several just ok hotels on our trip, this one was a breathe of fresh air! Clean, mattresses were perfect. Slept like babies! Breakfast was hot & full of options. We parked right outside our room, very helpful. The staff were welcoming & attentive

This hotel should be rated a Best Western +. Friendly staff, very clean & quiet rooms. Excellent breakfast included. Easy on off I-40. Historical Route 66 main street is a must visit while staying in Tucumcari.

Hotel was nice! Well lit. Reserved a handicap accessible room and was put in a regular room, which made basic tasks VERY difficult for me. Was also put in a room with a door connecting to next room, and next door people were very loud - which made sleep extremely difficult.

Great for weary pet owners. Very nice reception area, accommodating reservation and room request on lower level near clean pet area. Breakfast was one of the best on the road and large variety. Quiet and clean. Not many places in town to eat. We settled on Pizza Hut....not great.

After somewhat panning another BW property, I am glad to be able to heap praise on this one. Loved the facility, desk personnel were excellent, helpful. Breakfast was great. I will easily come back to this place.

This hotel, like the rest of the town has seriously gone down hill. The area was run down and looked dangerous. The room was clean and had a fridge and microwave. The TV channels are seriously few and there is no guide on the tv to see what's on. It does have a very minimal fitness room with treadmills only. They do have a pool. The breakfast was pretty good, no complaints there. The staff is friendly but they were unable to rent out most of their rooms because only 2 maids showed up to clean and didn't get most of the rooms done. They said help was hard to come by. The bathroom was seriously tiny. The sink is also very tiny and outside the bathroom with very little space to put anything. The worst part of the bathroom was the toilet. It was a few inches from the wall and the toilet paper holder was on that wall making the toilet paper hang inches from the toilet. If you are left handed....no way to reach around to wipe. Your elbow will hit the wall. No place to put anything. If you take clothes, pj's whatever into the bathroom you have no place to put them except on the toilet! We drove through town looking for some place for dinner. We found one restaurant with extensive selections and menu but the food wasn't that great. It wasn't cheap either. The whole town is worn down and shabby. Hard times have definitely hit this town and according to people we spoke to, population is also down quite a bit. I can't in good conscience recommend this town for a night's stay.

Stayed in several Best Western Properties over two week vacation period. This is definitely top/number 1 Best West Property . Great location off historic Route 66, Great Pool, Great updated room, Great breakfast selection and area.

We stayed the night here, the room was garden level with patio. The property is dated and dingy. HVAC was loud, it was no a good night sleep on old worn beds. Then to top that, the room was broken into and our cash and medications were stolen. No point to ever return to this property.

The hotel is located off the main highway, but the area felt secure. The room was clean and nicely decorated not mid modern style or blingy, the bed was clean and very comfortable. The Front Desk staff Janis was great and gave a warm welcome with a big smile,, great selection for breakfast and dining area was constantly being clean as we were eating.. The pool was good and clean.. It will be our go to hotel!!!

I had no issues with my stay. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. It was a great value. I have stayed at this location before and will continue to stay here in the future. The location is easily accessible.

We was pleased with our stay. Pet friendly room was clean and all amenities supplied. The hotel rooms are accessible from the outside which makes it convenient for pets. There is a well lit pet area. Overall a good value!

Really happy with the room and service. The living/sleeping area had been refreshed recently, and was spacious and inviting...and CLEAN. Bathroom older, but clean and functional. We've stayed at a number of properties in Tucumcari, and this was our best experience to date.

This hotel is close to the Interstate Highway and has an easy access. There are plenty of rooms to accommodate large groups. The service is great and the accommodations are great. A very pleasant experience.

In the small town of Tucumcari NM there are not many hotels to choose from but being familiar with the Best Western brand we chose the Discovery Inn, which is an older hotel like many in the area. The rooms were recently renovated: clean, spacious, small round table with two chairs, Ref and MW, good comp breakfast, close to fast food and one very good Mexican (small) restaurant, LaCita (?spelling) within 1/2 mile. We wanted to stay there again on our way back but unfortunately completely booked.

I stayed here while in transit to my end destination, and it conveniently located off I-40. My comments: 1. This is an older hotel, with outward facing rooms and stairs. No elevator. I was glad to be given a good room on the first floor. 2. Reception staff only provided the bare minimum of information - seemed to be in a hurry to complete the transaction. Had to ask a number of clarifying questions. 3. Pool was not open and was empty, but pool gate was left open which was a safety issue for small children. 4. Full hot breakfast was provided, which is the norm again.

I love this Best Western it's the Best that I've found. When traveling I never pass this hotel up. I always book this 1st just to make sure that a room is available. The staff is the Best. The Breakfast is unbeatable. The cook is constantly out checking on his customers, the food and asking if everything is okay I always tip him well. He deserves it.

We were extremely pleased with our stay at this BW. Convenient location right off of I-40. Friendly and professional staff at check in and check out. Our room was in the back and offered us the privacy and quiet that we enjoy. The little patio outside the sliders were an added bonus. The room was large, the beds comfortable, the shower water was plenty hot and the water pressure was great. Large, absorbent towels were an added bonus. Breakfast offered a good selection of hot and cold food. The area was large so everyone could get a table. The attendant was friendly and kept the area clean and well stocked, making sure to clean and wipe each table as the guests left. We would definitely stay at this BW again.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable enough. The room was very dark, even with lights on. The breakfast was typical hotel food. Doors open to parking lot. No frills at all. Not at the top end of Best Western.

The room was clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed. WIFI worked well. Room was quiet although upstairs, which could be a problem for some folks. The breakfast had the personal touches of a cook who obviously took pride in her work.

BW Tucumcari was fantastic, located right off of I40. We arrived after driving 15 hours from St. Louis and we could tell from the first moment that the hotel staff maintain an acute attention to detail and a commitment to sustainability. We had our dog with us, and they booked us in a first floor room towards the back of the hotel, making it easy to unload our gear and also where it was quiet. The rooms and property are very clean and neat. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. Breakfast is definitely full of choices. We had eggs, hash browns, biscuits, oatmeal, coffee, and more. The oatmeal came with individual containers of chopped walnuts and raisins. They even offer soy milk. They evidence their commitment to sustainability by using paper plates/bowls, individually dispensed recyclable utensils, and soap and shampoo dispensers in the bathrooms. The hotel even created a designated pet area with a new garbage bag and poop bags to collect the pet waste. We highly recommend the BW Discovery Inn at Tucumcari, a true travelers' rest!

I stay at many BW and this was the best breakfast that I have ever had. Choices were varied but the quality of the food was outstanding. Rest of the stay was better than normal. Was clean and comfortable. Will stay there again.

My son and I stopped here on our way to California. We also had a cat with us. Check in and check out were easy. Front desk and breakfast room staff were all friendly and helpful. Room was very clean with tile flooring and lots of space to unpack belongings if needed. Our room backed up to the highway which had some road noise but was not noticeable if air conditioner was running. We saw several other families with pets in rooms at back of hotel. Breakfast selection was very good and lots of seating available. We also had dinner in town at Del's restaurant. Very close to hotel and would recommend. This hotel is a great option for people traveling with pets.

The best motel we have stayed in for some time. We typically stay in Best Westerns when we can. Great condition and maintained well. Breakfast was awesome!!! Staff were very friendly and the front desk went out of their way for us.

Right off the Interstate and very convenient on and off. The staff were all personable, professional and courteous, The room was clean and comfortable and they are pet-friendly, which is a huge plus for us. The breakfast was about what you expect and the associate in charge was charming and good natured.

We were on our way home to SE TX from Colorado We always like a Best Western and were not disappointed. Beds were very comfortable. Room was very clean . Room was a very nice size. Not cramped at all. Our friends were with us and they were very satisfied with their room also.

As my husband and I travel, we like to know we can get a good workout in. We chose this property because it had the best reviews in town. While this property advertises a workout room it is sadly lacking other chains. Elliptical was inoperable. No weights, bench, mats or cups for the water station. We gazed forelornly at the IHG proper next door.

This hotel was a breath of fresh air compared to others on our road trip on the I40. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Some rooms are not close to the lobby but after driving for several days, walking was ok! Each room is outside entry. I will stay here again for sure.

Good value stay on the road. The room was clean and comfortable. I asked for a room upstairs and was accommodated. The lobby area was very inviting. It was decorated for XMAS. The real 5 star was earned for the breakfast. There was a great variety of food options. Lots of hot and cold selections. The gentleman who worked that area was on top of things and the area was clean.

Renovated/remodeled rooms were very nice. Quiet. Nice hot, full breakfast. Staff at front desk were very helpful. Since we were moving our car was full and husband had trailer on his car. A local restaurant had a shuttle that would come to hotel & bring you back. Perfect considering we were road weary!

I recommend this Best Western discovery Inn if you are traveling with pets. Of all the best westerns I have stayed out during my trip across the country, this was the only best Western that had an enclosed dog area. I was able to unleash my little dogs which somehow convinced them to do their business much quicker than when I walk them. Considering that my foot was hurting a lot on this trip, this was very helpful.

Friendly people and good service. Book direclty to make sure you get booked. Don't learn like I did, when Hotelwiz.com didn't book my reservation and the hotel was full. Hotelwiz.com didn't help to correct this and tried to keep my money.

All Best Westerns should use this Best Western as a blue print form every angle. The individual owner should be given a corporate job as the person that sets guidelines for all of the Motels. The breakfast was better than most I have ever seen or paid for.

We were so Happy to find this Honey Hole of a Hotel. Very good staff. The rooms were amazing. The Breakfast was one the the Best we've ever had on the Road like this. We Plan on Staying at this Hotel every time we drive from our Home in Las Vegas to our summer home in Northern W. and then on the return every year from now on.

Booked this hotel based on good reviews and upon arrival was disappointed to see that it is adjacent to I-40. When I went to check in, I asked for a quiet room as far away from the highway noise as possible. My request was refused because all the dog friendly rooms are on the highway. Fortunately they let me cancel. I didn't see the rooms but the location is just not acceptable.

The staff at the Discovery Inn was wonderful! Pleasant, helpful and courteous. The decor is modern and the rooms and property are very clean. The breakfast was great with a good assortment of hot items. I was traveling west and initially thought that I would stop in Santa Rosa, I am so happy that I chose Tucumcari instead. If I travel this highway again, I would definitely stay at the Best Western Discovery Inn.

We stayed at the BW in Tucamari a month ago on our way home on a 3 day road trip. I left my wedding band in the shower and did not realize it until we were already hundreds of miles away. I called and immediately the hotel managers and housekeepers scrambled to locate my missing ring. They found it and mailed it to me right away. I cannot thank the entire staff at BWDI for their wonderful hardwork and dedication to customer service. It's small things like this that keep me coming back to BW. Keep up the great work!

Older hotel but clean. This is our 4th hotel in 5 days. This was by far the best hot breakfast along the way!! Good tasting hot meals. Eggs, hash browns, sausage , oatmeal. Hash. The Bolingbrook IL Hampton gave us boiled eggs. Baymont in Branson had eggs and waffles. OKC ugh. The Dennys here in Tucumcari had one server and would allow 10 people at a time. She sent us to Del's , overpriced but good food.

We are relocating from Las Vegas to Little Rock spening three nights on the road with 3 dogs... Tucumcari split up the trip well... They generally have a two dog limit, but a phone request allowed three instead... The motel is well laid out, with a really nice miniture dog park with a low fence in back... It was clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly, and Breakfast was wonderful... with a staff member who really took care of the room. Room was clean, well organized and everything worked...

We were very pleasantly surprised by this Best Western. We had great rooms and there was even an area for my sister to let her dog play off leash. The breakfast also exceeded our expectations- we loved the make your own waffles! Very clean property and we received great service!

We spent a night at this property 5 years ago. On that stay we gave the property a rating of very good. Unfortunately, time has not been kind to this property. On the plus side, the room has good lighting, there is easy access to and from I-40 and a dine-in breakfast is available with a nice mix of hot and cold items. On the negetive side, there are limited dining or shopping opportunities nearby, it is an older property starting to show its age, one ice machine for the entire property, no elevator for second floor rooms. We are unlikely to stay here again.

Huge rooms! Super clean!! Boho vibe. Booked last minute on a road trip across the country and we were very pleased. The beds were comfy and then bedding was comfy and clean! Felt safe with COVID precautions. Nice clean pool although we didn't go in. Grass areas for dogs too!

We stayed for one night while on a cross country road trip. Although the hotel is close to the freeway, it was quiet. The room was pretty small; my husband thought the mattress was too hard; I thought it was okay. Breakfast was surprisingly nice with eggs, biscuits, gravy, cereals, yogurts, juices and various toast items.

This was our 2nd Best Western experience and it matched the greatness of our 1st; the night before. From check-in to check-out the experience was top notch. The room was so clean you could smell that bleach had been used. The towels were thick and luxurious. Loved the room and patio right outside. Loved the DOGGIE PARK! We have 3 Huskies and just finished a 10 hour trip from Missouri on our way to Arizona. This location is great and staff fabulous.

Carol at the front desk made me feel so welcomed, I decided to stay another day! Everyone here so friendly and nice. Maintenance guy and I chatted up about New Mexico is a great place and riding motorcycles. Room is impressive. Very happy here, told my wife we've got to come back when coming through Tucumcari.

Clean room, hatch Chile pizza delivered by Cornerstone Pizza First Edition, followed by hatch Chile sauce on biscuits with eggs and sausage the next morning at the provided, delicious breakfast. Easy location off of the interstate made this a perfect, brief overnight stay. Balcony was nice except for the sceeters.

The Best Western in Tucumcari, NM, is among the best of Best Western we've ever stayed at. The rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully appointed. Some of the nicest we've stayed at anywhere. The breakfast is bountiful and attended by a very helpful and courteous staff. AND this BW has an enclosure for the pets. All travelers on I-40 should know about this wonderful hotel. It is a godsend to have an enclosure for our dogs. If you have pets, you know what I'm talking about. There is even a beautiful shade tree and a bench for the humans. We always stay at BW because of the consistent quality of BW hotels, but the Discovery Inn in Tucumcari is in a class by itself. A real 5-star hotel.

Walked into this Best Western without a reservation. Within minutes we were settling into our comfy and cozy room. The front desk staff were very nice and friendly. Everything was clean and well maintained, exactly what you would expect for a Best Western. I will definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you!!

Overall the place was okay. After staying at 4 other Best Western Hotels (some were repeats) this hotel was okay but also the most expensive. All personnel were friendly and helpful but I felt the breakfast lacked something. The food was good but I felt the selection was very limited.

After staying at a trashy Days Inn in Arkansas the night before, this hotel was like a 5 star resort! I couldn't believe how clean it was. I LOVE that the floors were tile for pet rooms. What a great idea. I dont know if that was intentional or all the rooms had a tile floor, but it was a relief not having to worry if my dog had an accident. There was a little dog park nearby which was nice. It is just big enough for dogs to go potty and thats it. Our room had a back porch with a sliding glass doot that had a bar for security. I didnt worry at all about someone breaking in. There were plenty of towels and rags. The shower had soap, shampoo and shower gel on the wall. I didnt use them because I prefer my own, but my husband used it and said it was decent enough. It was nice to have a small table with two chairs so we could order pizza and eat together instead of on the bed. The bed was comfortable and clean. Only thing I didnt like was that all the pet rooms were on the first floor. I always get 2nd floor because of heavy stompers. Of course, we had one that stayed up late and got up early. I brought my own fan which drowned out most of it. I know the hotel cannot help that, but it would be nice if we had more choices. The biggest surprise was the awesome breakfast. Thete were real eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, hot oatmeal, corned beef hash, mini waffles (you make yourself) and a plethera of to-go snacks like honey buns, cinnamon rolls, etc. They also had great selection of drinks, yogurt, some fruit and refrigerated items. I probably missed a bunch of other things as I was enjoying the biscuits and gravy. All of the seating was cleaned and everything promptly attended to. The staff was exceptionally friendly. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.

This up-graded hotel provides quick friendly check in and check out service. the rooms are nicely decorated with modern furnishings. They are now providing a full hot breakfast menu. The hotel is located nearby the highway for easy access. This hotel is nice enough that it should be rated as a Best Western Plus and is charging a lower rate than other hotels for the quality of service. We have not stayed at this hotel before but will return the next time we are in the area. Thanks for great service.

The room was nice and clean. Very spacious and recently updated. The front desk women were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was the best we had on our month long trip. The man and woman working g breakfast were very helpful and kept up on everything. We will stay again.

We pass through Tucumcari, NM 1-2 times a year, and we always pick this hotel because of the location, cleaness, price and friendly staff. I highly recommend this hotel. We've never experienced anything negative in the 10 years we've passed through.

Be warned ~ This was one of the worst places I have ever stayed at. The room was nasty dirty with old food on the floor and bugs everywhere. We had a small dog, so was stuck in the back of the building near the hwy. which was very noisy. There were dogs barking, children screaming, people yelling, and doors banging. Walls were paper thin. The only thing that was decent was the breakfast. There was an extra $20 plus tax for dogs. I would never stay at this place again!

We got to the Discovery Inn after a long day of traveling and with a 60 lb dog. There was no one to be found to help us check in. We knocke on office doors, rang bells etc. Finally a woman came in from a side door and barely said 2 words to us. The room was dirty, flying knats everywhere. We didn't stay for the breakfast in the morning based on the filth of our room. We are not high maintence people, but we except decent cleanliness. We would not recommend this hotel on this one time basis, hoping it was a fluke and isn't normally like this.

We were able to get what we requested; a upstairs room for 2, non-smoking, no pets and quiet! Room was very clean, overlooked pool and the Mesa to the southeast. Clerk suggested the "Pow Wow" for dinner, where we enjoyed our meal!

I belong to BW rewards so chose this stop passing through Tucumcari. Won't stay here again. Clerk was very curt. TV in the room was terrible snowy. Couldn't stand to watch it! No evidence of security. Noticed several vehicles abusing the parking. Empty building next door left an unsafe feeling! No breakfast was served, only coffee!

Very clean. Quite, Safe, good hot breakfast. We world stay here again. Everyone was friendly. It's perfect for passing through, after all it's a small town. I like Best Western hotels. I like their pet friendly and smoking hotels because they don't have carpet and the rooms don't smell.

If you are traveling with a pet you will ALL be put at one end of the building so that you can listen to other peoples dogs bark all night. While yours tries to sleep. Room floor was dirty. There was long black hair everywhere. We didn't even want to shower. Towels were dingy tub hairy.

Business trip. Alway very clean, the ladies in the front desk are great, nice and very help full. Always make the process super easy for me, I stay there 2 times a week and Miss Carol and Annet always are very very helpful.

Nice clean, spacious room with comfortable beds. Quiet and easy check in and out, Grab and go breakfast which included hot foods as well as cold items. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and big the room was for the low price.

We are roadtrippin across the US and staying in hotels, so you never know what you will get. This hotel was above the quality of the budget hotels, but similarly priced. Comfy, clean room, quiet and a great breakfast! We had dinner at the Pow Wow, recommended!

We've stayed at this Best Western several times while traveling between Phoenix and Chicago and it's been fine. This time was different. We made the reservation directly with the hotel 2 weeks in advance, received no email confirmation, called again a week before traveling and were told the computers were having problems with emails. We were given a confirmation number and were assured we had a reservation. After driving 10 hours, we arrived and were told they had no reservation and that confirmation number wasn't valid. And they had no more rooms! Luckily, we were able to book a wonderful room across the parking lot at LaQuinta and we'll be staying there in the future. So it all turned out fine! I did call the general reservation number and they told us that our reservation had been canceled...on that day and not by us. So...it appears that they gave our room to someone else. We will be watching our credit card statement to be sure we weren't charged. Just be aware that although you make a reservation, it means nothing.

Older property. A bit run down. Mattress was to hard for my liking. Air conditioning units very loud. Exterior entrance doors to units. Had to walk outside to get to all of the amenities. Which included breakfast, ice, places I used.

Hotel is very convenient to the freeway. easy on and off. Hotel was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. Parking was easy with our trailer and well lit at night. We will stay again as we travel through.

For a room in excess of $100, I would at least expect a small table and chair to use for sitting at when working with my laptop. Instead I had to use the ironing board and the luggage bench. There was no blanket on the bed; had to get by with the top sheet and a flimsy bedspread with the heater turned up more than needed. Talked about this at the front desk and was pretty much given a so-what-that's-the-way-things-are-now.

I booked my stay and paid online. When I arrived at the front desk around 6:30pm I was told their system was down. I showed the ladies my confirmation email and that I had prepaid online. Still, they refused to let me check in and insisted I had been using a third party to book a room with them when in fact I had not. I was told that I was out of luck because there wasn't anything they could do to check me in and that I needed to call customer service to get a refund. I've called and was told I would receive a refund but still have yet to. I was automatically checked in and out by their system and still charged for that stay. I will never recommend this specific hotel to anyone. Drive the extra hour to Santa Rosa and stay there.

Considering we were here during the pandemic, we were very impressed by their breakfast service. They had a full hot breakfast lined up, along with the muffins and yogurt type items as well. This motel was surprisingly clean.

Considering COVID restrictions, the hotel provided an excellent breakfast to get us underway with a quick start. Small table for dining in room was very handy. The room was very clean and well designed for comfort and convenience.

The good - it has a very nice area to allow your dog off the leash in a pet area. I liked the tile floors for sanitary reasons during covid. It's also nicer for pets. That is the end of the good. I arrived after a long day of driving. There was no hot water to take a shower! The only ice is by the office. I was in a room at the far end. Really? How am I suppose to go that far when I have a dog I'm not supposed to take with or leave in the room? I had a phone call the next morning and didn't get to the front desk to check out until almost 9:30 and couldn't even get a cup of coffee. I am trying to determine a route to and from the southwest since I just became a snowbird. This won't be a repeat.

We had hopes but the room was dirty and smelly. My spouse was especially displeased. I paid rack and then extra for my two cats, but the room was definitely bad. The woman at the front desk seemed to delight in refusing requests.

We arrived late at night and the check-in experience was exceptional. The friendly lady at the front desk was proactive to address the needs of a family with small children and a trailer. We felt very welcomed and accommodated. When I went to get grab-n-go breakfast, the lady bagged all of our food and gathered a box for my to take the juice, coffee, and food back to the room. This facility was a model for great customer service. The maintenance and cleaning crew were noticeably kind and friendly.

1) The tile floors in room 141 were gross! A bit of sparkling water spilled on the floor. We wiped it up with a hand towel and the photo shows the result. 2) The bed was very uncomfortable. 3) The only bed cover provided was a sheet and an equally thin cover. 4) WiFi signal was weak. We have historically stayed at Best Westerns because they are pet friendly. But our last two experiences haven't been the greatest. BW's were great when first updated, but they seem to once again be old, neglected motels. Our next stay will be at a La Quinta.

We chose Best Western due to Covid protocols. There was problem with our room. Annette ably switched it for us. Great outdoor dining recommendations. Great to go breakfast. All staff was great. We highly recommend this property!

Motel is on the older side but still very nice. Easy access from interstate, too, and fairly close to eats. Room was clean, bed was fine, and staff very friendly. Best thing about the stay was the breakfast-to-go in a.m: egg-ham croissants or biscuits with sausage, fruits, yogurts, breads. I was impressed. Would book hotel again.

This appears to be an older Best Western which has been recently renovated. Rooms were very clean and freshly painted. Carol at the front desk was friendly and very conscientious about following COVID procedures. We have a service animal which they accommodated without issue. Small dog area is on property but it was flooded so unable to use. Bed could have used a blanket; was made with only two top sheets. We would stay here again.

Stayed here for one night and it was nice. We were nervous about staying due to reviews on cats and hearing the highway traffic. However we stayed in the room facing the town and didn't hear much traffic and we did see 2 cats but that wasn't enough to bother us. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Only thing that is bad is if you need any extras like coffee or shampoo etc in the night hours you can't get anything like that because night crew has no access to those things. Other than that the room is very clean. Slept comfortable on the beds as well. Since the pools were closed and the grab n go breakfast wasn't too good, I only wish for the nightly price we pay that they could possible deliver a better breakfast to each room. That would be nice.

This is an older Best Western. Our room was clean, freshly painted and well-lit. Nice bathroom towels. Grab and go breakfast was very good and offered plenty of options. Coffee was excellent which was a nice surprise. Guests were complying with face mask requirement. Room was a bit more expensive than I thought it should be.

Grab and go is the standard now, during the COVID-19 crisis. So breakfast is cold, grab and go, and not much of that. OK. It is what it is. However, it takes at least 5 minutes, in one case 10, of the bathtub faucet running at full flow, to get hot water for a shower. I presume some of that is due to lack of occupancy. However, it seems wasteful and is certainly frustrating.

PROS: Bed appeared clean. CONS: We looked at 2 rooms before we actually found one that was half way clean enuf to stay in, then still as in first room, second room also had several clumps of hair & cobwebs lying around the room. Dead bugs as well as live ones here & there too. But, fortunately the nice lady at the front desk came to sweep our room so we could stay. Went to use the lotion supplied & the inside top was crusted with filth & crusty brown trash!! Will NEVER stay at this Best Western again!

Even now with the overblown Pandemic, my opinion, this place was great. The had the room clean and everything had been wiped down according to their little info paper in the room. The breakfast still was there but in a sack for you. They had burritos, hot sandwich and bixcuit with sausage, fruit, juices, donuts, cerial and coffee. Fantastic so you can take it back to the room but that was fine. Easy access from the freeway.

Have stayed here over the past few years on our trip west and over that time the hotel has aged quite a bit. Needs updating and refurbishing. I realize these are difficult times but the updating and refurbishing could have been done over the years. It is OK in time of need.

This hotel and its staff were awesome during this covid 19 panic. They were vigilant and aware yet above and beyond caring and courteous. Theb breakfast staff worked with presision and efficancy. The rooms were hospital grade clean.

As we were rushing to get home to MI from Arizona before anything worse happens in the Covid-19 hysteria, we stopped here after driving 11 hours . There was a line of people waiting to register, and one clerk, Laura, behind the desk. I was 10th in line and there were at least 10 people behind me. Laura was warm, friendly, quick and proficient. It took only 20 min to get to me, and I was registered and had my room key in 5 min. Laura remained calm, pleasant and offered excellent service in a very stressful situation. The room was clean, and we were very comfortable. Again, Kudos to Laura for her calm, proficiency.

I like Best Westerns . . . I stay at them often. I paid a little more to stay at this location (opposed to other hotels in the area) hence, my expectations were a little higher. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. I had requ ested, and was given, a 1st floor room.The sleeping/sitting area of the room was very clean and tidy. The bathroom area however could have used a little more TLC on/around the floor and fixtures. My other disappointment was the freeway noise. I was awaken more than a few times during the night.

This inn has it all. Good service, good rooms, great layout especially for pet guests, good food, internet worked and beds were very comfortable. We usually travel with our pup and Best Western has gone above our expectations. Their pet rates as well as people rates are competitive and quite reasonable. The Discovery Inn gives quality services and didn't miss a thing. They even offer fried AND scrambled eggs at breakfast. All employees were efficient, polite and smiling!

Very Clean rooms and Breakfast area. Breakfast was fully stocked with eggs, bacon, sausage and many other standard options. Rooms facing the interstate can have a little highway noise. Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Best experience of any motel I have spent night. Staff very welcoming and personable both at check in and check out. Dining area and food exceptional and kept very clean at all times employee if dining area to be commended and was very personable greeting you both when arriving and leaving. Overall staff and facility cleanliness deserving of commendation overnight stay best of any motel I have visited in all my travels GREAT JOB!

I can't say enough about this hotel. Front desk lady was the friendliest lady. Check in was flawless. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The best part is the beds are so comfortable, I slept like a baby. Breakfast was better than a restaurant. Lot of choices and very clean. I definitely recommend this establishment.

We were extremely pleased with the beautiful immaculate rooms. And we are kinda picky! the staff who checked us in could not have been more kind and accommodating as we were traveling with a large trailer. The breakfast the next morning was very good..with a little SW flair...not just hot sauce for your eggs but a green chili sauce as well! I would absolutely stay here again!

We have stayed at other hotels in this area and this is the best! So clean and we are very picky. Breakfast is outstanding! We loved the comfortable beds. The bathroom was sparkling. Great pillows with several options!

This place has all drive up rooms that are quite spacious and meticulously clean. The decor is delightful. We drove right up to our room and walked in without any trouble. The breakfast room was larger than most and the food was better than most buffet breakfasts in a restaurant. There were many choices. It was kept well stocked and cleaned up right away.

Stayed for one night while en route from Dallas to Santa Fe. Easily reached from Interstate 40. One of several hotels in same location; I doubt the others would be any better. Paid about $100 (including 10% members discount): reasonable for what you get. Arrived on freezing evening; room was warm (a big plus); everything worked (wi-fi, TV, hot water, etc.); big car park; efficient service; nice little exercise room; good hot breakfast. Location lacks restaurants of any note (within walking distance), but several fast-food outlets, including Pizza Hut, which was fine. Also, nearby gas station sells lots of stuff, including beer, wine and spirits. Ideal for overnight stop-off + rest.

Stopped here around 6am after coming thru a very nasty ice storm in Tx. They were no places to stop in Tx everything was full. I used the best western app to locate this hotel. They took pity on my after one hell of a ride and allowed me a very early check in for the day. Room was very comfortable and I slept like the dead. Big parking area for oversized vehicles definitely a plus. The town of Tucumcara is a little different you'll need some patience.

Nice clean hotel. Room had tile floors and felt very clean, special remote that is supposed to be extra clean. Outside door is a plus when bringing things in and out. Nice dog walking area that is fairly large and fenced so dogs can be off leash.

This BW property is very easy to access, very clean with friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast offered multiple delicious hot and cold choices that were replenished as needed by friendly attentive staff.

We stayed here Jan 18 and it worked out well for us and our dog .. easy walking areas and everything clean and well maintained. Best of all was the man at the front desk. He answered all my questions about local culture and history with great expertise - a real ambassador for New Mexico!

We have stayed at this BW before and it has always been very satisfactory. Stayed at a couple of others that did not meet the satisfactory guideline. Happy with the stay as it was clean and they allow our pet to stay with us. Breakfast was standard for your run of the mill stay, eat and run

Our Best Western adventure. When we travel it's always at Best Western. Traveling with a small dog has always been so convenient for us staying with BW. Everyone is always friendly and very welcoming. The lobby was so beautifully decorated for Christmas.

There are lovely rooms here and a good breakfast. The only downsides are that the breakfast ends by 9am when checkout isn't until 11am, so it's inconvenient. It's also a separate breakfast room that u have to go back to front lobby for, so it's an outing. Housecleaning g can be loud starting early in morning even with do not disturb signs. Yet, the rooms are comfortable and very clean. Very good stay.

This hotel was exceptional! Rooms are modern and comfortable. Room was very clean and you can tell they pay attention to detail. Bed was very comfortable and the price was more than fair. While we didn't utilize it, they also have a free hot breakfast. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and efficient. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Tucumcari!

If you are travelling through NM and need a room I would highly recommend this hotel. I wish we could have been there in the summer months as the pool and patios were so nice. The staff was so friendly and very helpful with any questions. They told us of places to eat in the area and good with directions. Our room was very nice and spacious. Looked like it had just been redone. We really enjoyed our stay.

This appears to be an older property but trying to update. Room comfortable & clean. Enjoyed the snowman decoration made from a washcloth in the room! Bed firm & very comfortable but small pillows went flat. At least there were several so could bunch them together. Negative for our ground floor room was the noise from other rooms. We could hear the heavy footsteps from the room above us, voices from next door through the adjoining door (big gap under door) & the shower water from we think above. It sounded like it could have been from our room! Breakfast was okay. Staff very friendly. Evening cookies a nice touch & were packaged individually rather than being in a display case as in other hotels. (Being a baker, though, should bake for less time if packaging in those bags so they don't get too dried out.) Probably wouldn't stay in Tucumcari again. Not much for dinner options either.

Comfortable beds, good sized room, but very dated. The pet friendly rooms were far at the end of the facility. They were trying to make an old property fit the Best Western requirements and although it probably did, the basic structure was old and difficult. No complaints, though....everything was fine, breakfast was good, check in and out was easy. It just wasn't anything exciting....a little depressing with the brown colors, dark decor, parking lots next to open dry fields, and a Holiday Inn Express next door.

They recommended 2 really great places to eat. The one I went to Del's was really really good. I am looking forward to being able to try the other, PowWow, the next time through... the room was clean and quiet. No complaints.

We checked in around 10pm. The staff was very friendly. They have free WiFi. The room was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. They offered a breakfast, but we didn't have time. We will stay here again.

Nice new hotel. A bit out of the way but I'd stay there again.. Service from staff was an 8. Restaurants were fairly close. We ate at the one across the street. Not a huge selection of restaurants but enougth to get by..

We have stayed here several times. This year, however, we were disappointed. The first night of our trip west we stopped here. The hot water was not working correctly. Could barely get it past cold. The faucets were loose on the sink and shower. We told the front desk about it on our way out and they said they would fix it. On our return trip we stayed here again and we're given the same room. The faucets were still loose and there was no hot water. The toilet had diahrea under the seat. We complained and we're given another room that was fine and we were happy. They have a good breakfast and the staff was very nice. Not sure if we would return here or not.

This best western has the best breakfast I have ever had. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is very helpful. Their homemade cookies are a special treat. I definitely recommend this Best Western.

I've been staying here twice a year for 11 years ... my favorite motel. My pets are welcome, the taff is super friendly. I will continue to stay here as long as I travel.they have listened to guest sugggestions and acted on them ... this makes a huge difference in my eyes

This is great place for us to stop on our trips to Chama, NM. Great rooms, clean, allows dogs and has pet run. Beds are very comfortable & has handicap rooms. We have stayed 4 days this year and plan on doing the same next year.

My husband and I were traveling eith out 2 small dogs. We were assigned a dog room which was all tile. The pet-free rooms are carpeted. The pet- designated rooms are conveniently located near a grassy dog run, complete with doggy bags. Be forewarned, however, that management asks that your dogs stay off the bed. They do provide a dog bed if you ask the front desk for one. We were charged $10 per dog to stay in our room. The room was clean, complete with place to charge your phone. The king-size bed looked fresh and was comfortable. There is Small pedestal sink in the toilet room, and a vanity with a larger sink adjacent to the toilet room. The toilet was oval and more comfortable than the round. Breakfast was good! We have defected from the hotel we normally stayed in when traveling through.

Friendly staff. Clean, plenty of parking. Spring mattress, decent pillows. Microwave, fridge, hairdryer and ironing board. Cookies at the check in counter in the evening. Warm breakfast. (Eggs, biscuits, gravy, hash browns, sausage). Nobody ate the pink waffles. Use a plain batter and they will disappear.

Very nice rooms, recently renovated. Quiet despite the proximity to I-40. Nice dog walk area. Would have loved to try breakfast (free) at 5:15am when we had to leave but were not permitted in the breakfast room even though the breakfast was ready. Saw yummy scrambled eggs. We were given a travel bag with 2 granola bars, apple and and juice instead. Too bad. We'd rate this a 4 if we could have eaten breakfast.

Located just off I-40, this BW+ is a really excellent place to stay. The pool area is super clean and the rooms are top notch. Decor is nice and very functional especially if you use a stroller or wheelchair.

Although this was only a one night stopover, we were pleased with the updated decor, roomy patio overlooking the pool and well stocked breakfast. Easy access to and from the highway was also appreciated. Even though it's adjacent to I-40, the room was very well insulated, resulting in a good night's sleep before heading home.

qstayed here overnight,, and what a wonderful experience, from the friendly efficient check in receptionist through the nice big comfortable room, the lovely clean breakfast area. All in all could not fault this hotel at all.

First view of this motel was extremely favorable. Everything about it looked clean, well kept up and very nice in appearance. Check-in was quick and easy, desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was every bit as nice and clean as any motel/hotel of any chain I have ever stayed in, including Hilton and Sharaton. For the price we paid for the room, this BW was way over the top.

A very nice clean quiet hotel. We were especially impressed with the breakfast. This was one of the best breakfasts we have encountered at a BW. Great selection of food and the bread, rolls, and muffins were individually wrapped in cellophane. The untensils were also dispensed from a machine one at a time. The cleanliness of the food room was impressive.

Best Hotel chain in years. The updates and changes to this franchise are Worth staying over and over. The staff, food, cleanliness, pet fenced areas, phone assistance all are amazing. Great job! Thank you!

The customer service at this hotel is unmatched by hotels with far MORE stars! Top notch service. The room was clean & very comfortable beds! Laura at the front desk even gave us cookies! We are usually reluctant to stay at Best Westerns, but this one made us reconsider because it was so wonderful.

Cute place on the outside, and staff was friendly. Our room was on the interstate side but wasn't noisy, which was a relief. The pool area is very nice too. Breakfast was fantastic for this price point! Spacious eating area, lots of food, great variety of food, and excellent coffee. Unfortunately the toilet in our room didn't flush unless you removed the lid from the tank and jiggled the flush valve. Every time. The bulk toiletries dispensers in the shower were also all empty. We drive cross country twice a year. Maintenance issues mean I doubt I'd stay here next time, which is unfortunate.

I just had to say A++++++++ our experience was amazing. We broke down moving states and we had to stay here and they helped us with all our animals and didn't rob us at the same time like other motels. There rooms were clean nice for the animals and it felt like home for the night we truly appreciate all the did and by the way everything worked in the room.

It was after midnight when we checked in. The only negative was that we had to haul all of our stuff up a flight of stairs. If there was an elevator we didn't find it. Beyond that, we slept great, rooms were comfy and continental breakfast was outstanding. I would definitely recommend staying here and would do so again given the opportunity.

This was a one night road trip stopover. The room was large and well appointed. The breakfast was exceptional with a wide variety of choices and a large dining area. Front desk was efficient and friendly.Good choice for a route 66 trip.

I cannot say enough great things about our stay at this pet-friendly BW. From the staff at front desk during check-in (Matt) & check-out and the lovely lady fixing & maintaining the breakfast - everyone was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The entire hotel was renovated about a year ago. Lobby was beautiful, room was clean & very updated with plenty of electric & USB ports, the outside was well maintained. Our room faced the interstate but it was still very quiet. Surprised at the attention to detail used for the dog area. The area was fenced, had a nice tree, bench for the humans & the grass was actually maintained with a sprinkler system. Highly recommend this hotel!!

Traveling through Tucumcari, New Mexico, stayed at Best Western, hotel was not far off I-40, staring with front desk being friendly and welcoming. the room was clean and land spacious. clean neat room. Shower water pressure was the best to help relax ! Hotel offered A hot breakfast, that had a great selection from scrambled egg to yogurt cups with nuts! Great stay! Would recommend

Overnite stay on our way to Albuquerque for wife's family reunion. Hotel rooms are clean and updated. Price was reasonable. Easy access from I-40. Breakfast was ok. Clean and inviting pool. Staff was very helpful in recommending a dinner restaurant. Del's was an excellent choice and close to hotel.

This hotel is a great choice if you're traveling with your four legged friends. Clean rooms and friendly staff. We brought our dog ($20 pet fee) and got a very convenient room on the ground floor with an enclosed patio, which looked out upon the enclosed pet walking area. Tile flooring was a very smart move on their part, as the room did not smell one bit like dog (unlike the La Quinta we stayed at last year in Tucumcari). Convenient location, decent continental breakfast and yummy complimentary cookies at the front desk. It also has a computer and printer for use, board games to play and books to read. Located right off the I-40, so you may want to ask for a room that's not on the highway side, although we had a room that seemed like it'd be noisy, but once the door was shut it was fine. Slept through the night without a problem. Will stay here again on our next trip through.

Wanted a convenient stop off Rt 66/interstate after a long day's drive. Friendly reception staff provide a nice welcome. This appears to be an older location with outside doors, but easy to unload if you request a ground floor room. They do take pets, so if yippie dogs annoy, mention to the front desk and they will accommodate if possible - it's a busy location. Room was comfortable and quiet and we had a great night's sleep. Good breakfast the next day and we were on our way. Easy on and off and comfortable, we'd likely stay again.

This property provides a very good room. I liked the fact that on the wall above the night stand there were 2 USB outlets and 2 110 Volt outlets, there was one set of outlets for each bed. They also use dispensers for shampoo etc instead of disposable bottles. The breakfast was excellent, including fresh grapefruit. The plates and bowls were paper and appeared to be compostable It seems as this hotel is helping the environment..

What a wonderful surprise. We were traveling late and stopped here. Matt was so nice. Breakfast was very good. Great Coffee. Such a wonderful clean place to stay. We will for sure stay again on our next trip.

We've been driving from CA back to Louisiana and I've got to say I was impressed with this stay! Staff was excellent, room was beyond excellent, breakfast was more than anyone could ask for!, business center was perfect, clean place, they have shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers within the showers, all the linen felt so good, good size rooms, no complaints! I will be looking into staying a best westerns more often because of my stay here!

We found check in to be fast and staff curtious. Our rooms were spacious and clean. The vanity was separate from the toilet and shower. The room looked to be recently renovated. Breakfast was quite good with fresh grapefruit, waffles, biscuits, gravy, sausage, eggs and much more offered. We would definitely recommend staying there.

We had an awful experience with another hotel in the area and decided to relocate. The Best Western staff were accommodating and courteous, and the room was fabulous and had a balcony overlooking the pool. The pool was refreshing, we were able to do laundry and use the fitness center, and breakfast had hot options and was just fine. Very smooth and relaxing overall experience.

When we pulled up and our son said “there's doors on the outside!” I thought “uh oh. What kind of place is this?” Our room was on the 2nd level but there's no elevator. The room is nice and roomy. There's a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Lots of space for 4 people. We had a nice patio that opened up to the pool view. Very nice pool. Everything is very clean. Our door wouldn't shut but they were very quick to come visit. All very polite staff members. Breakfast is good with lots of options. We look forward to staying here again.

We drove from Los Angeles to Tulsa. This is the best hotel on our trip. Very clean, well kept. Great service. Friendly staff. The room was huge, the beds and pillows were so comfortable that we didn't want to get up. We wanted to stay longer. The breakfast was amazing, so many choices. Air conditioning was working great too. We wish we could buy the bed and pillows.

The room was clean. Lots of clean towels. The breakfast was great. Sausage, eggs muffins, yogurt, hashbrowns and even corned beef hash. Biscuits and gravy were offered as well. Fresh hot coffee available to go.

The staff and management are attentive and responsive. One of our trips we forgot a personal cell phone in the room and they overnighted it to us. The staff greet you in friendly and helpful way consistently from check in to check out.

Wokeup to see roaches on the floor.When I complained they had me send a picture to the manager but never heard back. When I called back I was told she said that happens and she wouldnt do anything. Having to unpack outside and make sure I didn't bring any home was not fun. They lost my business.

Having driven for nearly 10 hours in torrential rain it was a pleasant surprise to arrive at the hotel and see how pleasant the lobby was, and how friendly the person at the reception desk was. And the complimentary PB cookie was delicious. Traveling with a pet I was given a pet-friendly room. The room was large and appointed adequately. Great shower and bath products. Location is walk-able to several fast food places. Breakfast was very good; best biscuits and gravy I have had at a free breakfast buffet. This hotel is a good value.

I have a very good night sleep very nice professional was there to help us the room was very clean the bedding the pillow smell very clean feels nice like you would take care if that was your pillows and sheets. If you're tired don't pass up give Best Western a chance we did not once but twice and we loved it.

We were travelling and stopped only to sleep. The room was clean and recently renovated. It was very nice. The price was reasonable, but not important as we were tired. The hotel let us check in at unusual hours as well.

I was concerned about the room because we were given a pet-friendly room. Our room was clean but didn't smell heavily of disinfectant. The floors were tile and the furnishings very nice. I liked that there was a table and chairs so we could eat our take-out meal at a table. I especially liked that the pillows were different levels of softness. I found one that was just right for me. Our room faced the highway, but it was very quiet and we were not at all disturbed by the road noise. I also liked that the pet walking area was very close to our room . Don't let the appearance of the breezeways intimidate you. They look dated an sketchy, but the room was fine.

We stopped here on a near-cross-country road trip. The rooms are large, modern, clean and quiet. The front-desk service was exceptionally courteous and efficient. We have a dog. The motel has a small fenced grassy dog park, plus there is plenty of nearby open field to exercise a road-bored dog. This is a great stop in a friendly mid-size town.

Discovery Inn employees were very warm and helpful. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Close to many restaurants in the area. Breakfast at the Inn was Fantastic. Eggs, sausage, corned beef, and potatoes starts the day off right. Many tables in dining area and everything kept clean.

I travel with two small dogs. This hotels dog park was in excellent condition. Made our stay easier. I liked the tile floor throughout the room. Breakfast was typical fare. Not spectacular, but passable.

I have stayed here often and usually get a ground floor room because the second floor requires hauling luggage up a couple flight of stairs. There isn't an elevator. That said, I have always had a pleasant stay here with a CLEAN room. Also, they have the BEST BREAKFAST of any Best Western I have stayed at!

Hd one of the most complete and better breakfasts of all the hotels on my trip but was also the most expensive but quite a bit....almost 1/3 again the cost of any other room I stayed in with the same amenities.

The hotel was nice and clean. It was right beside the interstate so if you were on the backside of the building it could make you feel a little unsafe. The hotel was a pricey compared to other Best Westerns we had stayed in but I assume that was due to location in Tucumcari, NM. BTW if you should venture to this area the grocery store Lowe's sells Miracle Whip for around $6.00.(i.e. the cost of living is high here).

The hotel was clean. Staff was friendly. Bed was comfy. Very happy. A bit dated and the tub squeaked a lot when walking in it. But we can't go around if it's clean! Breakfast was good and tried the hot tub, pool was closed. My 4 yr old was bummed but had fun in hot tub.

You can't ask for a better Manager & Staff. Everyone makes you feel at home. I have stayed there since 2004. There is several other hotels in town but for the price and the friendliness of the staff you cant ask for better hotel as far as I am concerned.

We were traveling form Iowa to California. There was a winter storm and the interstate was closed. We felt very fortunate to have been able to get one of the last rooms in this very large and nice hotel. We will definitely make this a go to hotel in our future travels. The room was very, very large. Very clean.We had two queen beds, desk and a chair. The sink area was separate from the bathroom. The best shower I have ever had anywhere. They even had small Christmas decorations in the room. Very nice restaurant next door for dinner that evening. No need to drive in the bad weather. The next morning the interstate was open and we wanted to get an early start. Earlier than they served breakfast. A pleasant surprise was the fact that they had started to serve breakfast earlier than advertised because they knew people would want to get on the road. Would recommend this hotel.

There was no carpeting in our room which made it very cold with nothing to absorb the noise. It was the first time I'd ever seen/been in a hotel room with tile floors. About 2:30 am I thought the person in the room above us was doing an Irish step dance in combat boots! If that wasn't bad enough, about 3am the same person ran a shower. There was NO sleep for me that night! Won't return any time soon. Might be time to change hotels when we travel across country again next year. The previous night in north Little Rock was another nightmare at another Best Western...that time it was a mouse that ran across the floor.

A convenient location close to just about everything you might need. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. I also used the guest laundry, and these dryers were a great value. I also like the exterior entrance. I'm doing a cross country trip with my car and bicycle and have a lot of luggage. It's so much easier to just unload the car in front of the room.

The room was very modern with plenti of USB ports to charge your phones. Breakfast presentation was excellent and the food was hot. if you want a review about customer service you should let the customer decide a much I want to say.

Ignore the negative reviews, there was a huge snowstorm, all the hotel rooms in town were full and phone/tv was out across the northeast part of the state. We stayed here the night before and they did a great job accommodating a full house for breakfast. The front desk was very helpful with road conditions and recommendations. This place was a step or two above the normal Best Western. The room was larger than average and the bed was very comfortable.

I am a BW member and give this location good marks for getting us a room with no reservation. It was a busy location and the roads were poor so lots of folks checking in. However, they did not tell the wi fi was not working very well or that many of their tv stations were off the satellite. Then they recommended the restaurant next door and it was a complete fail due to poor service. We waited 20 minutes to get a table only to find out the kitchen was backed up 45 minutes longer. The hotel room were at best average as the bed was hard, old carpet and the shower needed an upgrade. Lots of parking but overall not what is expected as a BW member.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Bed was very comfortable and had a great nights sleep. Hotel staff was very professional and helpful. Very easy check in and out. Liked how easy it was to get to from the interstate.

At the end of a long travel day, we were more than pleased that we ended up at this Best Western. Desk clerk was very welcoming and efficient. Room was great... spacious and clean. It was perfect with tile floors since we were traveling with a pet. Even though we were next to the interstate, road noise was not a problem. Breakfast the next morning was awesome. So many choices and very clean and cheery. Will definitely stay here again!

This hotel was excellent. Staff friendly, efficient and helpful. Rooms are very clean. Hotel is pet friendly. Breakfast is exceptional better than a restaurant. We will definitely make this our go to spot when we travel from Missouri to Arizona.

Best place but could use new mattress. The room was clean, close access to the pet area and easy on/off to the interstate. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. My only thing was the beds were not that comfortable but they ate not the wires I've ever had to sleep on, other than that it's a great place to stay!!

Our 2nd time stopping here. Love the clean rooms, close to amenities. Kbobs restaurant right next door. Absolutely the best complimentary breakfast I've ever had each time we stopped. Scrambled eggs fresh hot and not prefab powder mix. The real McCoy. Good variety. I thought the gravy for biscuits and gravy might be pasty, though lacking in pork sausage it was surprisingly very tasty. They make up for it with their side of sausages. Love the drive up rooms too. That is important to me when travelling. Will be stopping there again next year when I head from Canada to Mesa AriOna for the winter. Price was surprisingly good too. Cheaper than last year

This motel has easy access on and off interstate and a very good restaurant next to this motel. The beds are comfortable, clean rooms, good lighting, and pleasant. Ask for a room on ground level if you ate elderly have mobility issues, or heavy luggage because there isn't an elevator to the second floor.

I twice at Best Western - once going and coming from Arizona, I found the beds comfortable and the rooms clean. The staff was friendly and I liked a restaurant being right out the door in the parking lot. I guess my only complaint would be they only have 1 ice machine over by the office

Don't let the exterior motel look turn you away, this place has been totally remodeled and is beautiful and comfortable with many updated extras to make you stay great! Loved it! The breakfast is wonderful and the staff very helpful! Convenient to the interstate, fuel, and food!

Clean comfortable room, good breakfast, which was serves well passed the advertised closing time. Has a pool, but was closed for the season when we arrived in early October. Our only minor beef was the wifi was slow, but typical of hotels, had dead zones in the room.

We rated the Discovery Inn as average, because we were disappointed in the cleanliness of the rooms. We first checked in and were given Room 106. When my wife went in to set up our travel items, she found a plastic device used to floss a persons teeth, on one of the beds. It was obvious the room had not been cleaned in a detailed manner, prior to our check in. We went to the front desk and asked for another room. The front desk person was nice, but did not apologize for the lack of proper cleaning in the previous room. We were then given room 107. Upon entering this room, we found minor items not cleaned, such as the coffee table in the corner had item on the floor, where the table had not been moved prior to vacuuming. Next, we found a used coffee pouch in our coffee maker, when we went to make coffee. Again, it was clear a detailed cleaning of the room had not been done. Please understand, as you read this, my wife and I are in the service industry; so we have high standards. We expect the people working with and for us to deliver excellence in our work, so we expect the same when traveling to another hotel. We would say this was an average hotel, as it was "ok", but we would not stay there again. Have a safe trip.

I stopped in the lobby with fingers crossed for a pet friendly room. A nice huge room with tile floors awaited us. The dogs (and I) were impressed with the fenced in dog run with grass for their breaks. Our front door did face the interstate, but the noise wasn't too bad. I called the desk for suggestions on supper delivery. What a surprise, the K-Bob's across the parking lot delivered. I was getting tired of late night pizza on this trip. Food was great. The bed was comfy, and the typical Best Western breakfast was good.

Stayed here for 1 night with my family of 4. Room was plenty big and nicely appointed. We were greeted by a wash cloth creature (like they make on cruises) and candy on our bed. So cute and welcoming! They also had cookies available in the lobby on checkin. Breakfast was a good selection of hot & cold items. The staff was very accommodating/ kind. We saw a family walking out of the breakfast room with food at 9:45 when the advertised close time is 9. Very unusual but nice to see them not rush everyone out if the room immediately. Would definitely stay here again. Fyi - pool is outdoors & seasonal so currently closed.

Great Oasis of rest on I40/RT66.Stopped in late one night, weary from the road. Very clean, friendly staff, and a steak house next door! The breakfast had the most variety I've seen in a while, from a waffle maker to biscuits and gravy. We'll be heading back here in the future for sure!

This place was nice and spacious for a family of four and two dogs. Didn't feel cramped. The floor in the room was tile, which is nice with dogs. We did being puppy pads just in case, but they have a great dog run that we utilized! Breakfast was good too.

We have stayed here before. staff is friendly, caring and professional. I highly recommend this property, when staying in Tucumcari, NM. Conveniently located just off the 40 freeway. easy off, easy on.

We have stayed here several times. It is our half way point in our travel to AZ. The motel is always clean, the rooms are very nice and staff is great. We like the fact that you can walk next door to a restaurant and walk back to your room. The pool is outside and very nice.

Convenient location, right off of highway 40, pet rooms have tile floors, very clean! They even have a little dog park area! Good breakfast including waffle maker. Noise level very low. They are doing renovations, so if the website says no availability call hotel directly.

Great for overnight. Just off the interstate and behind a steak house. Very close to the hospital and McDonald's. Our room was away from the street which helped with the noise. It is two story and we were on the ground floor. Some noise with late night check-ins. Clean and comfortable. Good shower head. Nice pool with some shade. Very nice breakfast - cereal, waffle, eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy. Also had a chili gravy that was interesting. Fresh coffee and juice. Yogurt machine was really cool. I really liked the plastic silverware dispensers.

I always look forward to best western stay. Everyone is different but great in its own way. I'm always excited for my next best western trip. The breakfast and surroundings places. Best western are always in great location. I always look forward to best western.

This was the third Best Western for my fiancé, his two cats and I in our trip from LA-DC. We had a ground floor room on the back of the hotel and there was a lot of highway noise. I'm from the city and used to noise but even for me this was loud. The floors were not carpeted which I prefer, the beds were comfy, the AC was strong, I liked the bathroom products this one had a shower cap, the shower pressure was strong and my fiancé was able to get a shaving kit at no charge. The breakfast is great and free with plenty of options to choose from. The hotel was fairly packed and parking was pretty full. This is right next to an area with gas stations and other hotels so it provides good access. This was however the first Best Western that I could hear the neighbors TVs. There were also more bugs than expected several large spiders and beetles in the room. The housekeeping made these cute towel animals with eyes and all. I'd stay again.

This motel is a place I would return to. The room was clean, spacious and well maintained. The staff was friendly. They provided lots of towels and amenities. Lots of places to eat near by but would recommend Watson's BBQ.

While it is definitely an older property and I had a room on the highway side that you could hear the cars all night, it did not keep me from having a good stay. Slept fine. BW best are becoming my favorite. Decent breakfast that included grapefruit, which was nice since usually "free" breakfast has lame fruit options. Felt safe. Easy on and off freeway. Had a fridge and microwave, and a chair for my dad to read in. Nice that they allowed pets for a nominal fee. I will stay here again.

Probably the best place to stay in Tucumcari, but there are some things you need to be aware of. This motel was built in 1985. It has paper thin walls and a paper thin floor for the room above you. The rooms are not real big. All of the motel rooms door's open to the outside, making it less secure than a motel with rooms that are only accessible from an inside hallway. It has been very nicely remodeled and furnished. It is clean. The staff is pleasant and they serve a great breakfast. AND, the toilet paper was “Just Right” (see photo). Unfortunately, the night we were there I believe the US Junior Olympic gymnastics team may have been staying in the room above us. The kids must have been using the bed as a spring board. They were constantly running from one end of the room to the other. Fortunately, practice stopped at about 10:30 PM. The person in the room next to us must have fallen asleep with their TV on. Not terribly loud but you could still hear the occasional loud commercial. And then there was that pesky fly. So, you have now been advised; bring ear plugs and a fly swatter and you will be fine. It really is a decent motel, just be prepared.

This is absolutely the best place we have stayed in the last 12 days. It puts the Best in Best Western. Nice laundry with 2 machines and dryers. Nice comfortable room and very clean. Great pool area and my grandson described it as one awesome pool. Really good shower. Nice big and soft towels. I would recommend putting soap and fabric softener on the wall in the laundry room. Did not partake of the breakfast but I'm sure it was good. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Called to make reservation while traveling and that process was so very easy

We had a great stay here and the staff there went above and beyond for our group. The hotel was very clean, it was also close to were our family reunion was being held. Plan to stay here again on our next trip to Tucumcari......if you need to stay in Tucumcari this would be the place to stay.

Nice place to stay enjoyed the room got to sit outside on the little patio. Great breakfast.Everyone seemed to be pleased and enjoy being at the motel so overall enjoyed our stay even it was only overnight.

Don't get room 136 if you don't like cigarette smoke because the housekeeping staff sits right outside the door to 126 and smokes pretty much all day. So your room will smell like smoke and you have to walk through a cloud of smoke to enter and exit. Other than that this is an okay hotel. The breakfasts are good and the rooms are pretty nice. My friends are really enjoying the pool. It's just ironic that i have to sign something that says I won't smoke and then I have to deal with so much smoke anyway.

The Best Western in Tucumcari, NM is a nice place to stay. It is slightly overpriced, but probably competitive with similar properties. There is a great steakhouse next door easily within walking distance. The room we had was very clean, quiet and comfortable.

This was a surprisingly nice stay! Clean room, balcony overlooking the pool. The breakfast was very nice. Hot sausage, eggs, hash browns and biscuits. The coffee was great too. Overall it was a very nice stay!

You can always count on Best Western for clean, comfortable rooms and this was no exception. This was an unexpected stop on our travels and we were happy to find a nice hotel. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Clean room and bathroom. The staff was friendly and nice. Good breakfast. The chili sauce was a nice treat!

We were pleasantly surprised. Very nice room, clean and comfortable, quiet and easy to access. The K-Bob's next door was convenient and good. Will certainly stay there again when we pass back through.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided a good variety to choose from. This was just a quick pit stop on the way home, in late and out early but it provided everything we needed. I would stay there again.

We found our room to be clean and comfortable. The ground floor was just what we wanted. Our breakfast on the next morning had lots of foods, fruits, and breads and cereals. Overall I would recommend this motel for comfort and quality.

Hotel was next to I-40, but quiet in rooms. We didn't particularly like having to walk upstairs to our room, but did not know it was a 2 story hotel. Most of lower rooms were occupied by people traveling home after being snowbirds in the south. We were able to handle stairs, just not as convenient. Hotel clean and would be used again if a trip took us through Tucumcari.

Good clean room with good bed and pillows. Had refrig/microwave/and very nice patio. Good shower head. Good selection at breakfast. Was very nice to have a restaurant across parking lot. Carol, the receptionist, was very friendly and helpful. Easy on and off of Interstate, good parking.

Overall the stay was fine, room was clean, bed comfortable. We were on the end of the building closer to the road so we did hear road noise. Our room had a patio door, which I think affected the noise levels as friends who stayed closer to the main area did not hear it. I would suggest not staying in that area (breezeway).

I could eat breakfast here because of the non-dairy options: hard-boiled eggs and SOY milk. My body attacks casein (protein in milk) in my cells so restaurant breakfasts are a problem (use of butter, cheese, yogurt & milk). Our annual cross-country trips will always include this property!

Great motor lodge style hotel, easy to load & unload, decent area to walk the dog (their "pet area" was tiny and not clean; the not-clean part is the fault of the pet owners...c'mon, people, they give you bags & everything!), the room was nice and fairly functional with a lovely patio that I could not use because of the 35 mph zephyr wafting through that evening (certainly not the hotel's fault) and there was a rude guest having a speakerphone convo at roughly 110 decibels until about 11 p.m. local time (also not their fault). Fragrances kept to a minimum, which is great for people like myself with sensitivity to such things. Tile floor, great for a pet-friendly room.

Not a friendly check in procedure. Got the feeling that the individual was very put out to have us there. Rooms are all outside entrances, which is a possible security problem. Rooms were clean, but older looking. Had to walk outside to get to the breakfast area, to short to drive. Food was OK. Machine ran out of orange juice and I had to tell a staff member.

The check in was quick, and the clerk very helpful. The room was large and well appointed. The only issue was that the ice dispenser was not convenient, and the outside door required room key, but the lock didn't work so had to access via the lobby. Other than that, the stay was enjoyable and the WiFi was very fast.

When we opened the door we were blasted with a chemical smell. Left for a few hours, thinking it would be better when we returned. Nope. When we checked in, we were told the hotel was fully booked so I knew we could not switch rooms. It was hard to sleep the smell was so strong. When I was checking out I mentioned this to the person at the desk and was told “they must have used too much bleach I guess” and handed me the bill. BTW, our room was in the breezeway at the end of the building, it is loud as you hear a lot of noise from the highway and there is a patio door facing the parking lot which might be an issue/increase the noise level.

We stayed here overnight.The check in was fast and our room was nice. The beds were so comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The breakfast was awesome. Plenty of hot foods ,fruit, yogurt, cereal. We really enjoyed our stay.

I was on my way home from Plano, TX to Pagosa Springs, CO. I booked my room on line, and I am glad I did. This hotel is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent with hot items as well as cold items. I had scrambled eggs and raisin bread toast. The coffee was even good. I will stop here again when I am traveling on I-40.

From the time I checked in until the time I checked out the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and tidy. Great place to stay for the night after driving 10hours. The price is a little high in my opinion even after utilizing my Best Western rewards card. This is an older hotel but the rooms have been updated. Access from the interstate is easy.

Love this hotel. Always use a coupon (hotelcoupons.com). Breakfast is great . YOU MUST try their green chile soup.(yes, for breakfast). Rooms are clean and have grounds are nice. When we travel thru Tucumcari, which is about 3 4 times a year, this is our hotel! Ask for a room away from the highway!!

My C-Pap machine that I left in the hotel was just delivered by priority mail thanks to Carol (the lady that called to inform me that I left my machine behind) and the wonderful staff that worked together to make sure I was reunited with my sleep apnea machine. A sudden death in my family and nearly 2,500 miles round trip with pending bad weather left me distracted. The front desk was friendly and helpful. the room was larger than expected and very clean. Breakfast was very good with a good selection. The dining space was large and clean. Parking was free. Great cookies too!

Best breakfast of any hotel we've had in the past! Outside entrances to rooms (old hotel, completely upgraded on inside!) but don't let that keep you away - best value in the area, super clean & modern inside!

Extremely disappointed. Pet owners are treated to filthy rooms. In our experience this does not happen with all hotel chains. Heating system difficult to regulate. Dented fridge, filthy chair, dirt on floor.

Over haul the hotel was good, staff polite and helpful. The issue was the room heater didn't work properly, was to late when we turned it on to contact the desk, it needed a repair person which I felt they could't provide late in the evening. So I didn't contact the desk.

Nice pet friendly hotel. Rooms are clean. The pet friendly rooms have tiles. Rooms are large. Overall, a pleasant room, clean. Like the exterior hallway. Breakfast was not well stocked. It would be good to keep products available until the end of breakfast. However, that is not an uncommon issue.

I travel for work and stopped in the area for the night while passing through. I usually look for another hotel brand but they were about $50 more, and decided to book at this hotel. When I pulled up, even though it doesn't look bad, I felt a little weary about my choice. I think this is probably an older hotel that has been renovated. I wasn't sure what to expect when I got to my room, but I was pleasantly surprised that my room was very nice. It appeared that it hadn't been too many years ago that it has been renovated. It was clean and updated. Unlike most other hotels I stayed in, this one has a balcony, so you could open the door for fresh air, as well as sit outside to relax. I had a corner room, so I had an extra window on the side for extra light. They offered the same amenities as other hotels: frig, microwave, coffee maker, toiletries, iron, blow dryer, etc.. The beds were not too firm, nor soft. Pillows also okay. The TV seemed to offer a lot of channels. The ice maker, and breakfast are in the building near check in. They seemed to have a lot of good choices (hot and cold) for breakfast. Now here were my only complaints. No elevators, if you had many items to carry upstairs. And the stairs were in mid-corridor, away from the parking lot. As a single traveler, it made me weary that at night, someone could be easily hiding in these areas. And I did not see any obvious cameras nearby to have as security. Outside of that, this is a small town, and you are right on the edge of it. Several fast food places and a few sit down restaurants. All you could easily walk to. This is right off of the interstate and truckers drive through ALL night long. While I was still able to sleep, if pure quiet is what you need, keep this location (rooms next to the interstate) in mind to avoid. And one last thing, perhaps the age of the place, but occasionally I heard rattling going on in the walls for a few minutes. Maybe the pipes? But that was the only thing that was annoying, and bothersome. It may be the one thing that might keep me from staying here again, unless the issue gets fixed. Maybe it is just the section I was staying in, but you can ask at the front desk. Other than that, I did not find this a bad Best Western, and aside from the rattling, I would stay here again.

Hotel and staff were very accommodating and helpful. The exterior of the hotel may have needed a few upgrades, but otherwise, it was a nice stay. Had some difficulty with the wi-fi service in the hotel, but it was not a big concern. Room was clean and breakfast was good. Would recommend it.

Our room was beautiful, pet friendly with nice tiled flooring, and a super comfy king bed. The breakfast was super delicious and free! The entire staff was helpful and friendly. The decor is very, very pretty and homey. It is easy to get to right off the interstate and near several restaurants. Would gladly stay here again

Our room was most comfortable, and very suited to our needs. The only thing that bothered us was the noise from the people in the room above us. It was intermittent, so we didn't report it, I just mentioned it to the receptionist the next morning. I will get a room on the 2nd floor the next stay, if our travels take us by here again. The breakfast was delicious and a good selection!

This Inn is one of the cleanest and most welcoming with friendly knowedgeable staff. The lobby is beautifully appointed, the rooms are clean and beautiful, beds are comfortable, internet works fine, bathroom is clean and breakfast is substantial. What more do you want for an overnifht stay! Plus it is easy off/easy on to the highway. We will stay here again on our cross-country travels.

We tried to check in at the LaQuinta across the way from this hotel but they said their pet friendly rooms were all booked, really? Anyway they recommended the Best Western and they are pet friendly for a fee. We were pleasantly surprised that we and our pet were welcomed. The front desk folks offered warm cookies and dog snacks upon check-in. They even acknowledged our veteran status, which was nice. The breakfast isn't bad, but "real" eggs would be nice! We had a nice and quiet stay both times in November. Good job! We were informed by the owner at the front desk that all Best Westerns were independently owned so all hotels are not the same. Be aware of their pet policies they vary a lot.

Stayed here 2 years ago while traveling through the state and planned this trip so we could stay here again. Stopped on the way west and on the way back east. Great clean rooms. We will stay again next time.

This hotel is ok. The front desk staff has been kind of rude the last 2 times I have stayed there. The rooms are ok and breakfast is good. It is not a bad place to stay. Not sure if I will stay here again.

I always get a great discount and every time we stay in this hotel the rooms are always clean. The breakfast is excellent and there service is great. We always stay here every time we pass through town on our vacation to Texas.

The staff was very professional and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was soft. The breakfast area and the breakfast itself was top notch. The internet in the room was fast and easy to connect. I guess the only negative would be a better discount on the room, but that's just me.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. There was a very nice place to eat just in front of the hotel. Food was very good, even though we generally don't do buffets, and at a really good price. The area just off the interstate is a bit congested especially near the hotel, but clears up quickly after you go down the road a bit.

This is a huge complex with a pool. Very clean room and nicely decorated. The bed slept well -altho not as plush as some of the other BWPlus I've stayed at. Breakfast was amazing again! Lots of choices and lots of seating. When we checked in they had yummy cookies which was such a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again. I was very pleased!! The staff was helpful and friendly.

We enjoyed our stay and will return when possible as we travel to different areas of the U.S. to visit family, friends and to see the great many beautiful sites GOD has created for us to enjoy! After driving through hail and rain, Best Western Discovery Inn was a very welcome sight. The room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was a plus. Looking forward to staying again soon.

Love the decor and bed in our king size room.. Only problem the toilets are small and very low. Very handy place to stay with restaurant right next door. Best place to stay in Tucumcari, New Mexico and the new staff and employees are great.

The people walking above you sounded like they were about to fall through the ceiling. The breakfast are is extremely small. Parking lot is congested. Lady at the front desk did not know how my rewards points were added to my account.

Great breakfast, nice large room with coffee maker, Microwave and refrigerator. Made it nice for those late night meetings to warm food. Quite room. Would have loved a Hot Tub though and this one doesn't have one. Bed a little hard for me as I prefer a medium hard bed. Staff was friendly and clean room. Loved the little washcloth duck on the bed.

We were traveling we pets and a 20 ft trailer - this Best Western was wonderful - tile floors - pet friendly - great fenced in pet area - and awesome parking - we were able to get in - park and get out with ease... Breakfast was free (always a great value) and tasty... :)

Best Western mtoels are consistently above average. This one was not an exception. Staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and clean. Breakfast better than other chains where I have stayed. Given a choice I will choose Best Western.

Nice clean place to stay. I stay at Best Western frequently and this place is very good. The rooms were very nice and it is located near the interstate. They have a nice restaurant located next door along with many other things near it.

Checked in a little early nice. Room very clean and front desk was very polite. Directly cross interstate from Saddleback Mesa. 1 block off interstate makes it great. About a mile down to Route 66. Would definitely stay again.

Older Best Western hotel very close to the interstate. Do not get a room on the interstate side, very loud with truck traffic all night. Bed was ok, room was clean. Breakfast was laid out very well, but just typical motel food. Oatmeal was very thin and runny.

We enjoyed this motel. Checking was wonderful, professional, and warm. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast gave us a great start to our next leg of 200 miles. Thanks Best Western, you did it again! It was a great value.

We stayed here on our way on Route 66. The rooms seemed to be having a revamp so we must have got an upgrade because of this. So we got a suite overlooking the pool. Very nice stay here and really enjoyed it.

The sound insulation in the suite we stayed in was non-existent. It faces I40 and all night long all we could hear was the large trucks going by - NO SLEEP. This was after a 625 mile trip from Phoenix and the next day was to be the same mileage. We needed a good nights sleep - DIDN'T HAPPEN.

When traveling on I-40 this hotel is GREAT! The staff is helpful and friendly, the breakfast is good, it's convenient to the freeway and if you are traveling with pets it's one of the best! They have put in a new enclosed pet area and the rooms I have stayed in with my dogs have always had tile....big bonus! There is a restaurant and gas station right next door!

No elevator to haul your bags to a second floor room but once you get in the room, it's nice & clean. Located right off I-40 & next to a nice family style restaurant for dinner. Free wifi, good breakfast & friendly staff. Would stay there again!

My wife used the laundry facilities. The fact that there were two washers and two dryers, of decent size and reasonably priced meant a lot to her and to the other users. It's a large inn and the map we received at check-in proved useful. We had a nice, comfortable king room with our car parked right out front. The hash-brown potatoes at breakfast were especially delicious and the orange juice was very fresh. These plusses we can recall, there were no minuses.

we were extremly tired when we arrived. The staff was so gracious and we we a bit hangry. they let us know where to get a good sit down meal and to take care of the obvious. I would highly reccomend this for cross country travelers.

This was one of the finest BW's I have ever stayed at on a trip. Beautiful Patio with chairs off of every room. Clean and beautiful pool and pool area. Clean rooms with comfy beds and great shower heads with adjustable sprays. Great steakhouse restaurant right across the parking lot. Love this place. I plan on staying here again.

Highly recommend staying. Clean, spacious rooms. Refrigerator was spacious and many TV channels to watch. Helpful staff. Laundry facilities was good. Well lite and very clean. Breakfast was excellent, many choices and extremely helpful staff!

We were driving to Ohio and stayed here our first night on the road. The hotel staff were pleasant and very helpful. The room was very clean. Should we be spending the night again in Tucumcari, we will be sure to book a room at this hotel.

The rooms were clean it was right on the Highway. Eating was very close and so was Gas. Didn't have time to see the town but it served it's purpose. We would stay again if by chance we needed to. Breakfast was great.

A happy traveler We've stayed at many hotels and the Best Western experience is in the top three lifetime stays. This was a pleasant experience in a 2600 mile drive. I will definitely recommend Best Western to my friends when given the opportunity.

Helpful, caring staff. Great pool area and the fitness center had a nice bonus for me. My preferred cardio machine is a rower and they had one! Fitness center and pool area were both very clean and well maintained. The rooms could use some updating but they were also very clean. Good location with a nice restaurant right next door.

Upon checking in I felt like a criminal meeting a parole officer. I was NOT welcomed as a Platinum member. I was not welcomed at all. I was offered a snack bag or 500 points. Still waiting on the points. We stayed at 6 Best Westerns on this trip. This was the only one that required a signed credit card slip and provided no statement. All of the ice machines were broken so my husband went to the front desk to get some. Beds ok but we skipped breakfast and ate st McDonalds.

Housekeeping entered our withou knocking or announcing. My husband inadvertently had the sign on door the incorrect way, but they should've knocked first and announced Housekeeping!! We've stay here 3 times I believe and had a problem on the first visit.

This is a basic motel, so it is not luxurious, but it is very clean and well maintained for an older establishment. They go the extra mile to welcome you by providing freshly baked cookies at check-in and a complimentary hot breakfast. They also sterilize the remote and leave a cute animal made out of a washcloth on your bed.

Yes someone had been sleeping in my bed. Staff allowed a truck driver to take a nap in our room before we arrived bed made and light was on.We were assigned another room but would not bring us a key he stood at the bottom of the stair yelling up to us "I got your keys" we had to go get them from him at 3:30 AM .Poor customer service and facility needs to be updated.

Clean, quiet room. Wifi only partially worked (this is pretty common at Best Westerns i have noticed. Stayed at ten different locations across the west the last month and only one worked well, in Ouray, CO). Breakfast was abysmal, raw hash browns and i had to wait in line behind the maid staff for coffee(don't get me wrong, the staff should have coffee but i believe paying customers should have priority).

This hotel has nice, clean rooms and is pet friendly for both dog and cats which is important to us. It also sports a large hearty breakfast with a wide variety of choices. We also liked that it is located right off the interstate.

The facility is large, extremely clean, and the beds and rooms are excellent. Many rooms have a small patio overlooking the large pool. The pool is excellent and has a bout divider between the deep and the shallow ends.

This hotel could use a lot of updates and upgrades. Its dark brown wood exterior is not very inviting but the location is right off the freeway so easy access on and off. There is a McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken within walking distance and a restaurant next door. A service station is just across the street so all services are close by. There really isn't much to see or do in Tucumcari so extended stay for me was not a consideration.

I stayed two nights as part of a state conference, so I didn't choose this motel. It exceeded expectations in all areas except for one. My room was very hot when I checked in at 6 pm. It smelled like mildew. I always travel with room deodorizer, so I sprayed heavily and turned down the a/c, which was off when I checked in. By the time I went to bed the room was cool and smelled less offensive. My room looked like it was in the the middle of a redo. Other rooms had been finished. The beds and pillows were great. The in room coffee was bad, but the breakfast area opened up at 6 am. The staff was helpful and nice. Parking is a problem if you come in late as many trucks with trailers take up multiple spots.

Rooms were very clean and well stocked. The beds were made every day and new supplies stocked. There was a coffee maker for making coffee or tea when you needed it, with 4 coffees and 2 tea bags. The water was hot for taking showers. We didn't use the pool, so can not comment on it. They provide a full free breakfast, which was very good, everything was kept hot. There was lots of space to sit.

Clean, larger room. Only stayed one night while traveling. Friendly and fast front desk. Internet was slow. Towels were soft and bed was clean and comfortable. Easy access from interstate. We left too early to experience the breakfast.

We stayed at BW's to and from Michigan on our vacation after staying in one in Tulsa, OK. Cancelled bookings with other hotels and rebooked in BW's on the rest of our trip. We give it 5 stars. Very clean, comfortable and in safe and easy-to-get-to locations. Beds were great and rooms very nice size. Very nice upgrade for BW.

The staff seemed happy. They were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was a large spread and was very thoughtfully put together. Our regular room was roomy and, again, thoughtfully pulled together. We ate dinner right next door at K-Bob's. That too was a good experience. They have an excellent soup and salad bar, as well as steaks and other options. There were several hotels nearby, but we feel fortunate to have chosen the Best Western Discovery Inn.

Best Western Discovery Inn at Tucumcari NM was our 7th hotel on the Route 66 road trip from Chicago to Santa Monica. We had just come through Adrian Tx which is the exact mid-point so it seemed fitting that our next hotel was the middle of the 13 hotels we were staying in on the trip. This was the last of four straight one night stopovers and we were becoming grateful for the swimming pools at the hotels. The pool at Discovery Inn was really welcoming as it gave us the opportunity to relax and cool off during the unseasonable heatwave being experience. We were certainly not expecting outside temperatures in the 120F range during early June. The welcome by the reception staff was warm and they made us chuckle saying that our room is close enough that we would not have to drive to breakfast. It was less than 100m, doesn't anyone ever walk anywhere in America? The complimentary breakfast was just great as there was something for everyone. I still have to say that I do prefer traditional hotels over the Motel type arrangements, but that could just be an English thing.

This motel was a little dated but very clean and comfortable. I thought it was a good value. The breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. It was a right off the highway and convenient to restaurants and gas stations.

The check in staff did not even acknowledge my elite membership. Located on the interstate highway in a cluster of motels, not competitive. The hotel appears to have added some new wings which appeared to be less old than the wing we stayed in.

Loved this pet friendly hotel. Originally had booked with a hotel across the way only to be found out that it was not pet friendly. Went to this Best Western and they had pet rooms available on the 1st floor. Gave doggie treat bags. Breakfast was a good mix. Location was quiet, could not hear the traffic from the interstate (although it was very close).

Our family had a great experience at this hotel - clean rooms, good service and the complimentary breakfast was very good, with a wide selection. If you're traveling through Tucumcari, this hotel would be a good selection.

This was a perfect hotel for a night. Great pool, great breakfast. Decent price once you factor in the breakfast. Restaurant within walking distance. Doors to the rooms do open to the outside unlike any other BW that I've ever stayed in where the doors open to the inside of the hotel (hallway). Not my favorite thing, but didn't impede our stay.

At check in I had two men behind the counter do little more than scowl at me. No "Hello" with a smile, just a stare and "Can I help you". The walls are paper thin so the casual conversation in the next room was easily heard. The breakfast was without question the worst breakfast I've ever had. When we arrived for breakfast there were no forks (which didn't really matter because...), no eggs, no gravy, no waffle batter, the sausages were soaking in a deep pool of grease. What we were able to scrounge up made all of us feel sick. Definitely not worth the few dollars I saved to stay there.

We enjoyed our stay here. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Except for the scrambled eggs, the breakfast was very good with several fresh fruit options. It lacks hallways and an elevator, however, and at $122/night was not a good value.

The hotel itself is located in a great location around lots of stuff. The pool is beautiful. The breakfast is unbelievable! It was restaurant quality. The choices were amazing! We were very impressed!

Stayed 1 night. Even as a BW member I think it was still too expensive but the room was nice and so was the pool. Everyone was nice and the room was clean. Not much around to eat at but there are options.

Great view, nice outdoor pool, clean, friendly, overall near perfect! My kids had a blast in the pool. Breakfast was filling and consistently being attended to. Cookies at the front desk! Desk managers were genuinely friendly and helpful.

We arrived late on July 2 after a long drive and were delighted in how we were received by the lady at the front desk. She helped with my sitting in the lobby while i searched for needed materials in my bag. The room was LARGE, well appointed, and spotless on the first floor. We enjoyed staying there and had just what we needed for a comfortable pause on a cross country drive.

It appeared to be an older motel, but the rooms were large, bed was comfortable and it was all very clean. The bathrooms appeared to have been renovated and were in very nice condition. The breakfast was very good and well managed!

My last review of this hotel was September of 2016. I gave it an average rating then and must say they have improved. First of all the price was much better at $91 with tax. That was down $15 from 9 months ago. The GM was correct you do get a better rate when booking in advance. The rooms are really comfortable for an overnight stay. Might even be good for a couple of days stay. The breakfast room, staff and food is top-notch. I will be back and hope to be able to give it an excellent rating next time but that might be tough. Even if they are price competitive I still feel an excellent rating will come when it cost me less than $90 with tax to stay there. Only $2 away.

We stayed here on 28 May and 14 June and we really like this Hotel. We were a bit disappointed when we arrived on the 14th of June to find they reservation did not include our request of the 28th of May for a King Size ground floor room. However after having the experience the previous night of having our reservation lost in Flagstaff, we were glad to receive a room with two queen beds on the ground floor. Overall a clean, comfortable stay.

Surprising little gem along the highway. Even though we were passing through, it had everything needed for a good night's rest and a good start to the next day. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean and comfortable. They even had tortillas and a great green chile salsa added to the breakfast choices.

Wow what a nice surprise. I picked this hotel because we were traveling with a cat and iBest Western is one of the few chains that accept cats. From the nice staff at the front desk (cookies there in the afternoon), to the housekeeping ( even a rubber ducky towel animal in our spotless room), finishing off with the huge free breakfast (eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pastries, waffles, yogurt machine!)- it was all we could ask for.

Clean,covienent, friendly and well priced. What more could we want as we travel. Not the most modern accommodations but certainly suitable for a night or two. Nice pool and enough AC to overcome the 110 degree day.

We stayed 3 days and found the staff very pleasant. The "Guest Cookies" were really good. The rooms looked "new" and the room was very clean, as was the pool area ( but too cold to go swimming). The Breakfast was the best of any of the BW's I have stayed at and that includes the one in Key West ( which was really good too). We will be back in Tucumcari for Christmas ( we have family there) and plan to stay a week next time.

Our room was clean and comfortable. Right off of I-40. There is a steak house next to the hotel and fast food nearby. The free breakfast is excellent with sausage, eggs, waffles, pastries, etc. Staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful. A very good value.

We loved the size of the room and the arrangement. Wonderful breakfast with good selection of foods. Courteous staff. The hotel is easy to get to from the Interstate and is close to several fast food restaurants.

The check-in lady was VERY helpful, and seemed truly interested in helping me and other people checking in. There were several people checking in, and she took the time to treat everyone with respect in spite of the late hour(10:00PM). She mentioned the complimentary cookies to us.

Check-in was smooth and easy (no reservation prior to stopping). There was ample room in the room we were given. The decor was okay and the king size bed was comfortable. There was ample room in the bathroom. A nice surprise was the bathroom had a shelf the length of the bathroom wall that was great for placing clean clothes and other personal hygiene products. The breakfast was not as good as other Best Western hotels. The gravy for biscuits was very plain and for the most part tasteless. The cheese omelet is something I should have avoided (poor quality). Overall an average stay.

You can easily spot it off the freeway and parking is good. The room is really clean and they always provide you with extra towels. Plus, free breakfast and WiFI is always a big plus for me. I would definitely stay her again when visiting the family.

This hotel, located right next to I-40, is fairly quiet if you are not in rooms 119-122 or 219-222. The noise from the freeway is somewhat drowned out by the noise of the air conditioner. Otherwise, the room was slightly smaller but adequate for a nights stay, clean with nicely updated decor, Breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices and good seating.

Have stayed at the Best Western Discovery Inn in Tucumcari NM many times, and have always found great rooms and a caring staff. Great breakfasts for the hungry travelers and very comfortable beds for a good night sleep. Good location, right next to the Hwy and gas station, restaurant nearby.

Room was very comfortable, clean and convenient to a restaurant. The motel offered a hot breakfast with several choices. I would recommend this motel to my friends and family for staying when in the area. We would stay here again.

Nice hotel walking distance to a steakhouse.Very easy on and off the freeway.Drove to dinner to Dels restaurant and it was very good with a salad bar included.Best Western had three different types of cookies and were excellent.

Hotel was as expected. Only issues were the fact that the pool was closed with no notice (we were hoping for a pool, one of the criteria we selected the hotel). Weren't even told the pool was closed at check in. Other than that, the hotel, service, room, breakfast, etc. were as expected.

Breakfast room was tiny with only a few tables. Went in twice, but could not find a seat. Also, coffee pump pot was filled with grounds. My wife and I gave up on the breakfast and stopped down the road.

This Best Western Discovery Inn is easily accessible from the interstate, has plenty of parking and is well lighted, close to dining and gas stations, reasonable rate, friendly staff, good breakfast. Quiet and clean.

From the staff to the room this was a good property! One of the best things about best Western is the way they make customers feel and this one wasn't an exception. The staff was courteous and the room was clean and well appointed.

The hotel was very nice. Staff was very friendly, room was clean. The breakfast was good too. There was plenty to pick from. A steakhouse is located on the parking lot of the hotel. They also give you discount when you stay in the hotel.

Stay in Best Western plus.For the price, much better room beds,room is bigger.staff was always friendly. In this one for what I got for $113. Was not worth it.an I'm a rewards member. This place is older.an not up dated.

Nice large clean room. Had a box around the bed frame but freight ended pets could get into the box between the box spring and box. Had to lift the box spring to get at our pet. Room next door had same problem.

Great staff and facilities. Plenty of eating places in the area. Worth the money. Everyone was very helpful and the room was very clean and updated. I stay in hotels about 300 nights a year and this is one I will return to again and again

We stayed at the Best Western Discovery on a recent trip across the country. The hotel is well situated just off I-40 with easy exit and return. The hotel and our room were very well maintained, neat, and clean. The staff was warm and friendly and were very efficient with our check in and check out. The breakfast bar in the morning was well stocked with a good assortment of breakfast items (both hot and cold). A good place to stay if you are in this part of New Mexico and need a warm and friendly stop.

The hotel was very nice and comfortable. The room was nicely decorated and the WiFi and television was very good. The service and staff very helpful. Had a nice balcony as we were on second floor. several restaurants near by.

Even for being near a freeway, the room was quiet; beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with a lot of selections. Parking was a problem due to my mother having recent hip surgery due to a crafts fair being in tow, but it was manageable. Will definitely stay again.

This Best Western is really a nice place. Rooms were so clean and updated. Easy access from highway and located close to restaurants. Staff courteous and friendly. PET FRIENDLY! Serves a nice breakfast.

We usually stay at a Best Western when we're traveling so stayed here on our trip. We were a little disappointed when we found out we had outside entrance to our hotel room. We didn't know that when we made our reservation. But it made up for it when they recommended the restaurant next door to get some food. We had a great experience there and great food and large selection.

Very accomadating , rooms and service excellent . I have had problems with other motels not accepting a Cat. This was no problem, with and extra ten$ This was my third stay and I Will diffently stay here again.

We stayed here for one night on the way home and it wasn't anything special but it wasn't bad. The bed was comfortable. The walls are definitely thin as I could hear the man in the next room snoring up a storm. He sure had a good nights sleep! It didn't bother me though. I fell asleep pretty easily.

Our second stay was terrific. This hotel is conveniently located near I-40. There is ample, well-lit parking. Our clean, spacious room had a fridge, microwave and great HDTV. The hot breakfast is as good as you'll find at a BW location. Donna, the hotel manager, delivered on a promise she made to us earlier this year. She was professional, friendly and courteous through all our communications. The Discovery Inn is definitely on our Best Western radar.

This hotel was clean and everything was in good condition. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast hours fit our needs very well and the items offered were varied and fresh. We especially liked having fruit and yogurt available.

The BW Discovery Inn was easy to access from I-40. Room was clean and comfortable. WiFi was free and worked well. There is a nice steakhouse within walking distance that offers a 10% discount with your Best Western room key.

Best Western in Tucumcari NM is a very nice place to stay the staff at the front desk are very nice and polite. The rooms are clean and the breakfast are very good for a hotel. They have microwaves and refrigerators which is nice when you have to stay for a period of time. And fast food and restaurant are within walking distance

We stayed here for one night whilst travelling route 66. Room had everything we needed. Front desk staff very helpful with recommendations for dinner and tourist attractions locally. Fresh baked cookies on check in were very welcome.

The room was nice but we need the room colder than the air conditioner would go. Air was limited to minimum of 68. Breakfast was good. I would stay there again. I appreciate having coffee, frig and microwave in room even if there is breakfast available.

I spent total of 3 days while traveling across country to visit family, found it very relaxing and conventient for handicap person like myself. Many choices in restaunts close by. Good launtry facility on site also.

There was no refrigerator in our room. We had ice packs that needed freezing for medications. There was no specific area for the pets to relive themselves. Previous pet owners did not pick up after there animals. Cleanliness of rooms were average.

I stayed at this motel twice during my two week trip around Missouri and Arkansas. The hotel is well maintained, and very clean, the breakfast is good, and well presented, and clean. The internet was down the second time I visited, but not a real problem. The steakhouse next door has decent food and the service is good (see separate review of 'K-Bob's)

Hotel room was very clean, personnel very friendly and specially nice lady at the breakfast buffet. Prices good, location good for traveling thru to Texas. Will definitely stop by again on our way to Las Vegas.

A lovely, quiet stay despite being right off Interstate 40. Great staff, Easy to get in and out. All the amenities you might expect in a quality hotel. Free password access wi-fi, cable TV, USB charging station, iron, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave, and the best feature: comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. The morning hot breakfast which comes with the room charge made the stay all it needed to be. Restful and stress-free.

The Best Western in Tucumcari , New Mexico is the best place to stay there. The access from the interstate is very convenient. The room rate is reasonable. The breakfast is more than sufficient. The K Bob Steakhouse is a good option for dinner. My husband and I have stayed at this hotel many times on our way from Emporia, Kansas to Phoenix, Arizona.

The BW we stayed in Tucumcari NM was comfortable, affordable and had all of the usual, internet & breakfast in the morning. our only negative is that we had a room facing the back and that it was along the highway. We heard highway traffic all night. We would know to book a room facing the front next time.

Best Western near the interstate, very convenient. The room was clean, the staff was friendly. The complimentary breakfast was okay, but the room seemed crowded. We did receive a military discount which was appreciated. We prefer Best Westerns, so I would stay here again.

This was our second stay at this Best Western. This stay was better than our first stay. I booked an ADA room and was very pleased with it except it did not have a fridge. The room was very inviting upon arrival. The info book, remote and what appeared to be a duck made out of a wash cloth or towel were on the bed. Nice ADA bathroom. The only negative was the limited channel selections on the TV. We have never had so few channels available. The lobby area and breakfast area were big and nicely decorated. Breakfast was the typical Best Western breakfast with some different options. Hash browns instead of potato patties. A chili sauce that looked and smelled absolutely delicious was available but didn't notice it until another guest commented on it and said how good it was. Wish I had tried it before filling up on everything else. All the staff were very friendly except the front desk person when checking in. Just seemed to be going thru the motions to get us checked in. The lady who helped mt at check out was so nice and friendly. Loved having K Bob's right across the parking lot. Good place to eat without having to drive after being on the road all day. Easy freeway off and on. Had no noise from freeway. Our room faced K Bob's. Nice stay overall and will stay here again if in the area.

We spent one night during a return road trip back to the West Coast. Picked this place because it was located at the intersection of Hwy 54 and I-40 and we had previous good experiences staying at Best Western. Pulled in after a long day of driving and were very pleased with the lobby cleanliness and ambiance. A beautiful collection of woven baskets hang above the front desk and the side lobby was hung with vintage Route 66 signs. Laura checked us in and was very friendly and accommodating. When we asked about dinner options, she recommended Del's. It was terrific, an iconic dinner house on old Route 66 with great New Mexico food. Our room was spacious, clean, and pretty quiet. Breakfast the next morning was good and the staff was very attentive. Overall a good experience. However, the best part came once we were home and discovered we had left our laptop somewhere!!! We called and spoke with Denise who expressed concern and promised a thorough search of our room. Sure enough, she called us with the good news that it had been found! She handed us off to Donna, the general manager, who made arrangements to ship it to us AT NO COST TO US! What a wonderful, professional, and just down-right nice group of people. We definitely would stay here again and encourage anyone travelling through Tucumcari to do the same. Happy trails :-)

Walked into the room reminded me of a cruse ship with Towels folded like animals. Very clean and comfortable beds. Bathroom shower was refreshing slept soundly. Went for breakfast and truly enjoyed the selections. Had scrambled eggs,sausage,toast juice and yogurt. Coffee was fresh and hot wife had Waffles. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere as well. There were still more choices of food and fruits. Highly recommend for starting the day.

Great location and large rooms. We were surprised that we were put on the second floor with no elevator since we are older retired people. K-Bob`s was just across the parking lot which we liked very much. We could have a glass of wine without worrying about driving.

My handicapped husband and I were charged an extra $5 for needing a room on the first floor. The hotel has no elevators and he can't manage stairs. On top of that we were charged an additional $5 because the room had 2 beds, even though we did not need a second one. We will never stay here again! We have never had a problem with a Best Western before and are left wondering if this is their new policy.

this hotel is a great place to stop and stay. its clean and comfortable. the staff is great the breakfast was good and plentiful. ample parking for both cars and trucks the restaurant next door called k bobs is a great place to eat. the food is very good. you get what you pay for at this best western

The property is an easy off and on to I-40. The property is an older style with outside entrances to room and no elevator. It was clean and well maintained with a friendly staff. Hashbrown potatoes were a nice touch at breakfast. A K-BOB Steakhouse is located next to the property. The room rate seemed a little pricey, but with Tucumcari being part of the "Route 66" experience I suppose that's to be expected.

This hotel is located in a town where this is nothing but a few fast food joints open. The hotel was clean and had a syeak restaurant on site . It is priced high for being located in a small lonely town.

This Is an older hotel (at least it appears that way) and has limited parking. Our room was in the back, (which is actually close to the highway) with no parking on that side of the building. The only thing between you and the highway is a fence and maybe 50 yards. The room itself was comfortable and very clean the breakfast was very good but overall not worth over $100. I would be very pleased if it was $80, not over $100.

We drove 800 miles that day and the room we were given had NO HOT WATER. I told my wife we will check it in the morning and it was still COLD. I informed the front desk all they said they could do is turn in a work order to have it looked in to.

I stay at this Hotel frequently and the staff is always friendly and helpful and rooms are always well kept. The breakfast has a large selection to choose from and is always well stocked and they also have a New Mexican style chile with potatoes that you have to try!

The GOOD stuff first: The bed was stellar – we slept great! Our room was clean and although the bathroom was small, it was clean. The towels were some of the best we've ever found in a hotel -- kind of out-of-place and much nicer than you would expect to find in this hotel. However, the wash cloths were very thin. The Internet worked fine and we appreciated the desk/table with 2 chairs so we could both use our laptops. Also, we wanted to mention how polite, professional and helpful Savanna was with us during check-in. Now, the BAD stuff: This hotel is JUST PLAIN OLD-LOOKING. It's more like a motel – with outside corridors – which gives pause to the safety element. Although AAA rates this hotel as a 3-diamond, we thought it was more like a 2-diamond. This hotel is right off the freeway – which made it noisy with traffic noise – especially the trucks – but it did not keep us awake. The lighting in the bathroom was great, but the rest of the room was difficult to make light enuf for us. Also this room (#119) was kind of “buried” underneath a deck, receiving very little outside light. Also, it's right on the corridor, so you couldn't open the curtains much. Most disappointing of all, the price was terrible. Maybe travelers should think twice about staying in the brand-name hotels in Tucumcari, giving the small motels on Historic Route 66 a look -- it could be a better price/value for their money.

We stayed at Tucumcari because it was late and we had driven most of the day. There were several choices of hotels at the I40 exit and because we have generally had good experiences at Best Westerns and it was next to K-Bob's we chose this hotel. BE ADVISED: It is the only time in the US I have found a low to the floor toilet in a hotel. If you require a standard height toilet, you must ask for a ADA compliant room.

I had a very positive experience staying here. I did travel with cats and one did manage to find a hiding place under the bed within the frame so just be aware of this if you have a cat that likes to hide. The people were very helpful getting my cat out from under the bed. It is a clean hotel and the people are very nice.

This location is outdated and not being maintained well. I was brought some cleaning supplies to clean the hair out of the tub myself. There was so much hair, I checked under the bath mat placed on the side of the tub and was not surprised to find more hair there. The "clean" remote had debris on it but was still placed in the small box that announces it is an easy to clean remote. Not easy enough I guess. I received a partial refund. Parking is not always available directly in front of the room you are assigned or even in front of that wing on the motel. Some staff were friendly and some were not.

Very nice motel. Staff was excellent. Bed not as comfortable as some of BW other motels. (I'm Spoiled, I have a brigs mattress at home). Service during breakfast was excellent. Parking was good and grounds were clean. Pool was nice.

Clean, good sized room, nice pool, personal patio. The hot breakfast was the best we have had on a 3 week road trip. Lots of hot and cold choices, all fresh, including fresh cut up fruit (strawberries and melon). Good value and convenient.

This was an awful stop followed by another BW in Flagstaff AZ as we drove to CA. I was never so disappointed, both hotels are at best two star and should be no more than 70.00 per night!! Our bathrooms were not particularly clean, the mattress were worn, soft and lumpy, we tossed all night. The air conditioners sounded like jets and road traffic was bad. We would NEVER stay at either of these facilities again,

I was a little frustrated when we arrived and were told that check in was at three and there was no early check in. We looked around the town to check out the famous wall murals. When I went back to look at the BW web site I saw check in time was 2. I brought it to the desk clerks attention and she apologized and gave us a reduced rate. The rooms were clean as was the pool

Return guests to this location....always very satisfied with cleanliness and comfy bed. This was our first road trip with Sadie, our sweetheat lab. Very accomodating and loved the pet treat for her. Nice restaurant - K-Bob's next door for dinner. We'll be back through again on the next road trip west!

Rooms were spacious and attractive, bed comfortable, bathroom spacious, some rooms with an outdoor sitting area. Once isn't; cleanliness excellent! Appeared to be recently remodeled. Pictures on trip advisor are dated, decor has been changed and apparently upgraded. The faculty was well-maintained and it was clear maintenance was ongoing. The pool was very clean and attractive. The breakfast was generous and the eating area clean and attractive. Opportunities for improvement, take the ice machines out of the eating area and install elevators. Also smoking is allowed on premises and the smoke from the outdoor areas on the balconies drifts to non-smoking areas.

Our room was clean, huge, and comfortable. Shower pressure was awesome. The bed could have been a little more comfortable, but we still slept just fine. The front desk suggested a wonderful restaurant in town. Breakfast was great, too. Plenty of options!

This was a great hotel in a small town. The staff was all friendly. There was a great restaurant right across the parking lot. Breakfast at the hotel was really good, they even had biscuits and gravy.

Motel style rooms with doors directly from the outside. Quiet despite being right next to the highway. The room was very spacious and very clean. Beds and pillows very comfortable. AC and wifi worked well. The outdoor pool was perfect on a hot day. The free breakfast buffet was your typical American hotel selection - weird pre-cooked scrambled eggs, sausages, gravy, biscuits, salsa. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, waffles, selection of breads for toasting. Breakfast is rather early though - 6-9am. There is a coin operated washer and dryer which was great. Only disappointment was that our room did not have a fridge - they offered to move us to another room but we decided it wasn't worth it for one night. Overall we were happy.

Needed a place to spend the night while traveling through New Mexico. The room was clean and the staff was nice. The room to our door opened to the parking lot, which was convenient for my mother who cannot walk far, but when doors open directly to the parking lot, I always get worried about noise at night. Luckily, the night was relatively quiet. The breakfast was pretty good for a free motel breakfast. We needed a refrigerator in the room for my mother's medication, but there are no refrigerators. There is a space for one in the TV cabinet, but nothing there but an empty space, so we kept her medication near the air conditioner. Not a bad place to spend one night when you're traveling through New Mexico.
