"Small, nice hotel"
evamu, 26 Mai 2019

Good location near the harbor and walking distance to the city center. Free parking and wifi, friendly staff. According to information it would have been supper at the hotel but it didn't. The room was quite small but adequate for an overnight stay. Comfortable beds. Breakfast buffet in a small nice dining room with maritime decor. Off season, so it was quiet and nice.

"East coast Sweden"
Art D, 27 Juin 2017

Very nice hotel on the east coast of Sweden, about an hour north of Kalmar. Hotel décor has a nautical theme. Breakfast is very good. Hotel has free parking and is easily accessible by car. Centrum is within walking distance, and the ferries to Oland and Gotland are just down the street.

"Old building renovared under Best Western standards"
Aqua_Uomo, 16 Septembre 2016

You canr go wrong with Best Western. Not top notch but decent and comfortable. Great location, across the street from the old town bur tricky location, i passed ir twice. The builing is on the main road but the entrance is up and around a small road behind a church. I love that 6 pm sound ans snack. The offer it. Funny thing not all Best Western have it. I nad it in here, i had it in Uppsala but now I am in Krisianstad and they never heard of this. Hotel is nice, very modern inside, see some pictures I attached. Brakfast is good, typical and the staff is nice and helpful. I felt like hot milk for breakfast, they dinr have it but the lady attendant fetched a mug for me right away. One thing i didnt like, actualy 2. No elevator and no electrical outlet in the washroom. I mean there is everything you need, including a bottle cap opener but no plug. Everything else was fine. Sleep quality is good. Even though my room was on the first floor facing the main street going downtown and traffic was busy there was no noise, good windows. Parking is free right in front of the hotel. They sell boose at the front desk for those in need over hours. The front desk girls are really nice. I was there yesterday, on September 15.

"Great cozy hotel"

Nice hotel next to the harbour and city center. Walking distance to many restaurants and a small shopping mall. Clean room and a great bed. Complementary coffee/tea and assortment of cookies throughout the day. Good Wi-Fi.

"Value for money"
Saltiretraveller, 25 Juin 2016

Great value for money in hotel close to town centre and ferry terminal. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff who of course speak very good English. Room quirky with seaside theme, spacious and well-equipped.

"Power Plant worker"
Richard E, 22 Juin 2016

if you have a work assignment at the OKG nuclear plant, this is a really nice motel. Drive Time: easily at the badge reader <30 min. Price: Competitive for the area Room Size: Not too small,, Breakfast: Like a lot of Hotels in Europe, lots of bread, fruits, boiled eggs, coffee and juice. it was nice that they begin the weekday breakfast service at 6:00AM. Evening meals: Mon-Thurs Served: 18:00 - 20:00 (some of the meals were of such quality that I would be bragging about the next day) Accessibility: Located right on the edge of the Oskarshamn downtown: lots of restaurants within walking distance

"Nicely located in town"
Keule1965, 22 Mai 2016

We use this hotel for business purposes when we are working in Oscarshamn. The rooms are not very spacy but very much ok for the money. All rooms I experiencend were nice and clean. There is no special lobby but two rooms which are used as restaurant and relaxind location. There is free food served as business dinner. Every day different dish, but no choice for different. What you get fästes well, we had veggi lasagne that evening. There are parking spaces for free around the hotel. If you arrive late you may end at at hired space behind the building för 75 SEK per day.

"Nice and comfy"
Muminmamma1, 03 Août 2015

We needed a roof over our heads, chose this hotel since it was close by and rather cheap, didn't expect much but were pleasantly surprised!! Room was very comfy, newly decorated and had very nice beds!! We arrived late, no problem, staff arranged for us to pick up a key after reception closing time. Buffet breafast was really nice, staff was constantly keeping an eye and filling up when necessary. Quiet place desite being smack in city centre. Only slight drawback was a poor selection of tea in the room..

"Seafaring interior design; ok for on night before going to Gotland"
Galeno78, 30 Juillet 2015

It was the cheaper hotel in Oskarshamn in middle July; and it was nice and 'typical' in a small modern city without any attactive element but the sea and the port. That's ok. It was just a night before taking the ferryboat to Gotland. Good breakfast, some problem with the web at the reception to get the receipt (10 min blackout... and the ferryboat is leaving!)

"That's not how to treat potential guests."
martina_libi, 01 Septembre 2014

My friend and I went backpacking in Sweden and arrived in Oskarshamn at 8pm. The hostel we knew was fully booked, so we walked around, trying to get a place to sleep. I have stayed in Best Western Hotels before, so we were relieved when we saw that there was one, as we had agreed to stay in a hotel that night. But what happened was a little shock. Due to our (admittedly large) rucksacks, we were stared at in an unfriendly manner by the hotel employees from the moment we entered and the lady at the reception did not only tell us immediately that they had no double rooms left, which later, after a brief conversation with a guest turned out to be wrong, we also found out later when checking online that the prices she had named for the single rooms were much higher than they actually were. Clearly, she didn't want us to stay in the hotel. Due to her unfriendliness we had already realised that without knowing that she was lying, so we pretended to not be able to afford the rooms. Actually, both of us are, although young and enthusiastic backpackers, able to afford such prices, but we prefer to stay where we are welcome. Then, and that was what shocked me most, she told us to leave through the back door, which we did, as we didn't want to cause an argument. Now, I understand that hotels of a certain standard need to maintain a certain reputation and that backpackers entering and leaving the house might be a bit counterproductive. But I a) don't think that a Best Western hotel is a hotel of such a high standard and b) it was wednesday evening after 9pm and there were not many people around to witness our entering and leaving. Also, while I'm aware that it is not a hotel's duty to help tourists if they take the risk of turning up in a town without a booking or a general idea of where to sleep, I'm not sure if it's right to show two 20 year old women out the back door after 9pm in a town they don't know, only giving them the general direction of the next hotel, because they might harm the hotel's reputation. As I said, it's not the hotel's duty to look after us, so I think one can argue about that. What I do think is undineiably wrong, however, is the unfriendly way in which we were treated and I doubt that I will ever stay in a Best Western hotel again.

"Easy stay in central Oskarshamn"
Max K, 25 Septembre 2013

Small and functional hotel easy accessible in central Oskarshamn. Would have rated it four if it wasn't somewhat pricey for its standard. Pro's: Free (but limited) parking right in front of the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Small pub/store in the reception. Simple, but nicely themed (marine). Con's: Fairly small rooms with nothing extra to pass expectations. 250 SEK extra for a baby bed.

"Perfect price and perfect location"
Oslo_JK, 31 Octobre 2012

A grejt hotel, nice and clean rooms, comfortable beds. You have a cosy lobby where you can sit and take a coffee our a glas of wine. A small breakfastbuffe with all the you need in the morning. Location is perfect, just 1-2 minutes and you are inte the "city". I can truly recommend this 3-4 star hotel.
