Best Western Plus Durham Hotel & Conference Centre

This location is a gem. Don't let the location fool you. The management at this location is continually updating. Above and beyond service. Check in fast, accurate. Breakfast and the breakfast staff is amazing. Cheerful and caring.

Really awesome stay at this hotel the staff was very accommodating and they were very welcoming, we also got a tour of the hotel and had missed breakfast however the hostess was able to provide breakfast options for us . The stay was great , definetly stay at this hotel

During the stay at Best Western housekeeping never came to the room to remove garbage ,clean, or change towels. The location of the hotel was close to the course I was attending. The breakfast attendant was friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, the hotel smelled weird as you entered. That should of been a sign to leave & not stay. Though, I have to say that the gentleman at the front desk checking in was very nice & helpful. The room, it was very outdated, dark & dinghy. Our A/C was working when we left for a few hours. But, wasn't on when we came back. We put it on & it kept going off. Finally, fed up, called front desk & the lady said that it could take a few minutes to go on or it could be a fuse? We suspect they were shutting on the system to save money because sure enough it started to work about 2-3 minutes afterwards. The bathtub, husband slipped 3 times & I did 2 times. We almost fell out of the tub, which was v-shaped, weird old fashioned style. We are over 55! The sink is on the outside of the bathroom, again weird. Finally, the sheets on one of the double beds had stains on them, disgusting! Regarding the breakfast, we were informed at check-in that it was from 6:30-10:30 a.m., but when we went at 10:00 a.m. the nice lady working there said it's only until 9:00 a.m. So, there was barely any food left for us & other folks that were coming in at the same time as us. They were informed the same information as us. Outside by the back door to the parking lot were people smoking pot & drinking. Their cans & thrash all on the ground around them. Really didn't feel comfortable coming back to see that. Really didn't feel safe either. Unfortunately, for a Best Western, it's very disappointing & definitely not recommend to stay there.

I have stayed at this location before and it was just as good as expected. The breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful. I will use this location every time I stay in the Oshawa area. Great overall experience.

My experience as a Rewards member at this location has been exceedingly pleasant. The staff are all great, attentive and accommodating. The rooms are modern/up-to-date, and clean. The breakfast is also a plus with many choices/varieties.

David & Taylor were amazing hosts…cleaning ladies super friendly, hotel was great, clean, linens were crisp..conveniently close to the GoTrain, perfect fit for our BlueJays game…I left an item behind, and they went above to get it returned to me…

I have stayed at many Best Western Hotels in both Canada and the United States and this hotel in Oshawa, Ontario gets a 10 out of 10 from me. We were a group of 8 all from Ottawa that stayed at this hotel after attending a Blue Jays ball game in Toronto. Excellent experience. Honestly, staff and hotel are top notch.

Happy to see that it was close to the 401. It was easy to navigate around oshawa from here. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly, the breakfast was ok. I would stay here again! Lots of parking. It met my expectations of a Best Western.

Very disappointed with price for what you get and the room was bit messy with bugs all over the washroom definitely not the best for the price and the people that stay are just staying to party which gets annoying.

Extended stay here. Awesome staff! I highly recommend it to all. Plenty of shopping, restaurants, amenities in general near by. Very clean rooms. Not far from Lake Ontario, and only about 30 minutes to downtown Toronto.

The location of this hotel is so convenient being a short walk to the GO station! The staff were also wonderful, accommodated our early arrival! The hotel was clean and inviting as well! We will definitely be back!

Breakfast was delicious and very good variety. Loved that the sink was in the main room so someone could shower while others got ready differently. Comfortable and affordable. Layout is a bit confusing is my only complaint but I'm usually directionally challenged.

Good location and close to amenities. Restaurants are close by and the staff were friendly at check-in. Reasonably priced for the area. Rooms were clean. Staff moved us to another room as the tv wouldn't work properly,

The hotel location isn't great. You can hear the highway in the room we were in. The cleanliness and staff were amazing. Staff is so helpful and friendly and the room was spotless. Breakfast so many options was sooo good. Just wish the location was better. And like all best westerns better tv. Be able to steam and rent movies would be great

The staff is exceptional, helpful, accommodating, and generous. They exceeded our expectations, going over and above to make up for a situation that arose that was out of their control (when no one expected them to). They constantly checked in with us to see how our stay was and offered assistance in all counts. The hotel is a little dated but it was perfect for our team and more than met our expectations.

The most welcoming place with wonderful staff. I highly recommend this place if you are staying in Oshawa. Fairly close to transportation and shopping if you need groceries. Nice breakfast and big rooms with a fridge.

We requested a pretty basic room, but we're happy to arrive and see a large room with fridge and microwave. Online that was an upgrade, but maybe all rooms have them? Vanity sink area was outside the bathroom which was great. Room vas clean and vending machines in good working order with a good variety. Overall, very happy with our stay and will be back.

I have been visiting Oshawa quite often the past 2 months and always stay over night at the Best Western. My girlfriend and I have enjoy the comforts of the rooms we have stayed and the great friendly staff. From the time we set foot in the front door being greeted by a friendly smile and a welcoming hello, the staff who care and clean the rooms and the management we appreciate how we are very well taken care of.

Amazing hotel. This hotel was very clean around the building and also in the building as well. As soon as I walked into the hotel I was greeted by many friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was amazing very clean and many options; hotel staff always greeted me.

The Hotel was close to the Oshawa Civic Centre where we were involved in a Soccer tournament. I would definitely use this hotel again and would recommend it to family and friends. The Manager and desk staff were very nice and accommodating.

I would recommend this hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I really like that the rooms and the breakfast service are on the same floor. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were really clean. When we were leaving the hotel we passed by a room and the maid was vacuuming the bed mattress! I will definitely make this my go to when travelling to the Durham region.

Old world charm. Ghosts roam the halls with many stories to be told. Delicious breakfast served with a smile. Light security. Was asked if I was a customer by the police when I was resting which was insulting but otherwise the staff were friendly

Check in staff were lovely, very friendly. The room was starting to show its age. We had two double beds, both mattresses were significantly worn and saggy in the middle, quite uncomfortable. The in room fridge was dying and made loud noises all night until I got up and unplugged it. Apparently daily house keeping is no longer included in the price of a room. Be prepared to make your own bed. Other guests were very loud after 11pm, yelling and slamming doors ( I realize that this this is not the hotel's fault, but nonetheless, it's reflected in my rating) The breakfast did offer a variety of foods but we had to eat in a strange, windowless room with poor ventilation. The hotel is located about a minute's drive from the GO station which in our case, was helpful.

We stayed here for a work trip within the last week and the experience was not great. The hotel was 80 degrees + if not more the entire time, no AC available and just completely uncomfortable. Sadly, the last morning I was there, I woke up with a "sore" on my backside and have since had to visit my doctor to find out that I obtained MRSA (a staph infection) while staying at the hotel. This is disgusting and horrible, and I hope for the sake of others that they find a better way to ensure proper cleaning and sanitary standards. We will never stay at this building again due to the lack of room amenities and the lack of cleanliness this building could provide. I will note that I did not go anywhere else during our time there where I could have obtained this, we were primarily at the hotel for the time of the trip. I do need to note that the staff were friendly and easy to communicate with, but that is all I can offer for this location.

I stayed at this hotel with many of my colleagues. This hotel may be older but it was very comfortable and clean! The manager and his staff are truly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place.

All the staff we encounter were very friendly, professional and helpful. Requests were answer quickly and to our satisfaction. Location was great, a quiet area, was close & easy to get on and off highway as well as main roads into town

From both the sink tap and the shower the water was hot and couldn't be adjusted. If you wanted a glass of water you had to purchase bottled water at a vending machine. And the shower water pressure was a small trickle. It would have been a chore to wash my hair with the water stream the size of a small bathroom sink flow. I won't be back.

October 9th wedding needed a place to sleep to get ready at & this is where I picked so glad I picked here it was an amazing stay for the night!!! Best service ever!! Hotel manger was friendly, helpful & just awesome!! Just wish the bed wasn't hard but other then that an amazing stay!!

My room was really in good condition, checking in was seamless, the front desk young man was really nice and professional . However my flight was delayed and I could not leave my baby outside in the cold and the second man at the front desk was extremely considerate and offered to accommodate us for extra hour or so. I was super excited. Also, the lady at the kitchen was super nice and friendly, the meal was also good and was a good fit for breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay and the staff in there were great and welcoming.

Staff is superb, very friendly and helpful. Hotel is very clean, breakfast is fabulous. Vending machines are fully stocked. The location is fantastic, nice basketball court and beautiful courtyard with bbq to use. The location is convenient for the GO station.

We had five rooms booked for a softball tournament. Horrible smell was coming from the halls and rooms, rooms were not very clean at all, a few rooms had zero air conditioning. On the plus, hotel staff was very friendly and breakfast was decent. Will not be returning.

Had a long day in London and was heading home to Ottawa and decided to quit driving for the night. This location was a convenient place to stop and was everything we have come to expect from the BestWestern Brand. Clean, comfortable spacious rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff.

If the sheets and towels were not clean we simply would have left. This was a reward night from Best Western. The room, was run down, shabby, had an stale smell (we wereable to open the window) The wall and ceiling were damaged, the air conditioner smelled, the wire on the telephone was hanging off the wall. The closet had a wire coming out of it as the lamp was plugged into it. I had to used the bed coverlet on the chair to sit on. It was dirty. The carpet was dirty, did not take my shoes off. To top it off the breakfast was cold, and there were not plates available. A guest finally found one in the cupboards in the breakfast room. Not a pleasant experience.

We usually like staying at Best Western Plus but this was not on par with others that we have used. The one good experience was the free hot breakfast which we thoroughly enjoyed the two mornings we were there. The room was not cleaned properly before our stay. I wiped down the shower walls and tub before my shower due to residue I spotted just before turning on the water. Our feet were black from walking on the carpet in our bare feet. It was not a pleasant, relaxing experience. We chose it because of the 3.5-4 star rating but we were very disappointed.

Hotel is somewhat dated but very clean. Property is immaculate and the staff were super to deal with. Plenty of free parking with easy access to the highway. Also very secure with limited access points keeping unwanted visitors from entering.

Lacking cleanliness in room and guest room, odor in room - carpet seemed quite old, humid air in the room, patches of paint repair in the room. Breakfast was good and complete. No staff present at the main entrance as we came in the evening - waited for a while... Would not return to this hotel and not recommending this place, especially for a family. Surrounding area felt

Room was extremely dirty. Broken furniture, unable to close the bathroom door, phone not working, crumbs on the floor. Electric wires coming out of the AC. Blood stain on the wall. Bed was not cleaned and freshly made. Dust everywhere. This is the worst hotel room ever.

The fellow at check-in was friendly, but when we arrived at the room we were very disappointed. The bathroom headstand pushed up in the corners there was hair caught under the door and there were no grab bars or nonslip mats in the bathroom and when we went to call for assistance there was no phone in the room.

The Best Western Durham is a great place to stay when you hate driving in TO as much as I do! Just a few minutes walk to the GO, its location is perfect. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and free breakfast! What more do you need.

This location is great lots of room for parking and a little out of the way from the Toronto rush. I your traveling to Toronto for a Big event this is the best place to stay,. if always a good idea to save money by docking just a little on the edge of town, ..lol it cheaper and more spacious, .lol

PROS- The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the bed was comfortable. CONS- While the breakfast buffet offered a large selection, the hot items were only luke warm. The air conditioner was noisy, but that's what we've found in many hotels. I would stay here again for a one night stay.

My kid had a basketball tournament in the area. The team stayed next door at comfort inn. At the last minute decided to come for the weekend. Best Western looked a little cleaner and price was 50$ cheaper. Good experience had a far room so no highway noise.

Very comfortable hotel, directly at the 401 in Oshawa. Tasteful breakfast offered during the whole week. Staff and management are very helpful and friendly. I especially like the free for use BBQ grill in the courtyard and the fitness center. Definitely will come to this place again.

This Best Western is excellent. Friendly professional front desk and manager. Accommodated our early check-in. Efficient check-in process. Rooms were large, had a good temperature, clean linens - good mattresses, No mold, bugs, or room disrepair. Bathrooms are clean and well laid out. Water is clean - plenty of hot water for showers. Very quiet, with no hallway or traffic noise. Hallways and elevator clean. The breakfast was really very good. Omelets, sausage, toast fruit juice decent coffee. Amazing because it was included. Cheerful friendly staff on the way out. Excellent value.

I checked in to the Best Western hoping to just get a good nights sleep and be on my way out. However, I was met by smiling attendants at the front desk and that already made the start of my stay very pleasant. The bed was nice and cozy and my room was warm. I had a very filling breakfast in the morning and I was honestly shocked at the variety that was available. Toast, beans, eggs, muffins, danishes! All so tasty. Oh and the hash browns were crunchy and perfect! I'll definitely be back there whenever I'm in the area and need a place to crash.

everytime id go to best western just a resturant to have inside building would easier then ordering in all the time beautiful building in and out i use cane to get around the stepps outside the font were crazy but i no cant make everyone happy i wold do it again thanks so much to all the staff great people

Unfortunately the rates were highly inflated for us and the room did not meet expectations. No water pressure, lights not working and kind of outdated. The staff - in particular, the Manager - was incredible and did go above and beyond to try and make our stay really great.

This hotel is an easy 9min drive to the Iroquois Sports Centre - great for hockey or lacrosse tournaments. Front Desk and Housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and inviting when you walk in. The Fitness Centre is decent as well. Our group (a hockey team) had a great two-night stay, the hotel provided everything we needed. (Unfortunately no pool or hot tub).

Pillows were small, did not clean room between nights. Small bed. No clean towels, or soap between nights. Did not make bed. Staff just shrugged and walked away in the morning when I told them it was a terrible experience. The coffee had coffee grinds both mornings. The staff indicated that the coffee filters were too small when I told them about the coffee grinds. People were partying all night in the hallways till at least 3 in the morning. I will not ever return to this hotel and only rent at Best Western when there is not anything else available.

Needed a night stay on a return trip! Very friendly greeting from reception! Felt like they were happy to meet us! Every thing was excellent from the hotel staff to the breakfast! Quite willing to stay again when in the area!

This location became home for over a month and the entire staff made it a wonderful experience. The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. The value is above par, as is the breakfast and all facilities.

We stayed here for a hockey tournament and couldn't have had a better experience! The staff went above and beyond to make sure these kids had a wonderful experience after having so much taken from them due to the past several years

Very pleased with this location. I had a previous stay that wasn't great but this 2nd Chance stay was a night and day difference. I even extended my stay and it's been 13 days so far. If only they had on-site laundry.

The front desk staff are always very helpful, friendly and polite. Parking is very convenient. Nice big place, with rooms always available. The sheets could be a bit better and an extra towel wouldn't hurt.

overall my experience was good. i had a night out with my girlfriend, we grabbed dinner, then went back to the hotel where we hung out for the rest of the night. shower had gold pressure, beds were comfy. 10/10 trip

Needed a reliable hotel for one night while in town for a conference. Staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean & comfortable. One check in, they helped me secure a better rate than what I had originally booked. I would definitely recommend.

Tv didn't work well, power went out in room,wall paper peeling off walls, ratty bed skirts, noisy heating system. Way way over priced for the rooms. Will never go there again. Also not accessible for handicap to front lobby that I saw

This hotel is it in desperate need of some updating and the cleanliness is far from acceptable. I know with Covid hotels are taking precautions but the breakfast was disgusting. Not worth the money and I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

This was a repeat visit to this hotel. Very convenient location in Oshawa for train, highway travel. Room heating controls were easy and efficient. Hot water was slow to arrive, so I learned to overcome my distaste at the waste, and run the water until I got the temperature I needed. Parking was available close to the room location. TV/cable/internet worked well. No safe in the room. Housekeeping staff were invisible - no sign of them in the room (removing garbage, replacing towels, etc.). Would stay here again.

Conveniently located and although it is not a new place it is well kept and the staff are incredible. The manager is very courteous and ensured our stay was pleasant. Thank you Adam we will see you again

Have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. Very friendly and helpful staff. Express check-in and check-out. Nicely equipped and furnished rooms with fridge and microwave. We stay at this hotel routinely when visiting Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Some pros and cons, Pros, very friendly staff, good amt of food for breakfast that you take and heat up yourself, easy access on and off 401. Cons We had no plug for our tub, our room smelled like marijuana, quite old almost motel like. Not really what expected fir a best western

Check was quick and easy. Front desk associate was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, although had a little bit of musty smell. Nice big tv. The bed was very comfortable and pillows were nice and soft with crisp fresh linens.

Our company stays here for business regularly. Great location and overall excellent hotel. Management and staff are very helpful and the rooms are spotless. Other hotels/motels in the area do not compare.

Rooms were chill, staff was pretty helpful and friendly, it was a great decision to stayed there. Pretty close from the route, David, the front desk worker make our stay super enjoyable, definitely recommend !

Goodmorning. I stayed here for a couple days business! The room was very large and comfortable! The bedding was very comfy! Lots of pillows! I could have used a blanket but survived ok without! Close to decent food options! No traffic noise, was very quiet! The place needs an update but still very acceptable!

Stayed in Oshawa for the night. The hotel is very close to the highway, clean and friendly staff. As a girl traveling alone I felt pretty safe. I'd definitely stay here again. Only downside was the noise in the hallways echoed and woke me a few times. But it was very clean (for the price).

I stayed at the hotel from a Friday night to a Tuesday morning. Overall the experience was great. The front desk and reception was clean and the staff were friendly. The room however seemed smaller and could have been a tad bit cleaner.

Avoid this hotel. Great staff but, cheap ownership. Shows with everything broken. Had to be switched 3x due to things not working. First room no working A/C and TV remote. Second room computer chair, internet issues and THE TV AGAIN, this time sound not working. Then to finish off, the hallway door outside my room would slam shut every time someone would use it waking you up due to the noise. If it was not for the great staff, I would have checked out after the first night. Never have I been to such a disaster of a hotel.

I recently stayed at this hotel while passing through the GTA and trying to get ahead of a snowstorm. The bathroom was a bit aged but the was recently updated and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, our one-night stay was quiet and comfortable.

I called the front desk about 45 minutes before arrival. I asked for a price, and one was given over the phone. After making a few more calls, they had the best deal, so I called again to confirm the price and that I am arriving in 30 minutes. Once there, the front desk clerk whom I had spoken with, "Anthony", said that the price had changed - much higher. He could not give a reason why. It just changed. Either he deliberately lied or extremely incompetent.

We couldn't lock our bathroom door because the handle was very loose and falling off. The shower went from hot to cold then hot to cold again. The bathroom looked rough. There was also a smell in the room and hallway. The carpets could also be cleaner.

This is a great hotel. The staff are not only efficient but also friendly and accommodating. The room was large, clean, and quiet. It came equipped with plenty of towels, a fridge and a microwave. The hotel is a quick 15 minute walk to the Oshawa GO Station, which was perfect as we didn't want to drive into downtown Toronto. Breakfast in the morning was great - choice of cereal, eggs, sausages, waffles, muffins, croissant, fruit, yogurt. And all for an unbelievable price - I will certainly be back! Thank you BW Durham!

From the arrogant staff, to the TOENAILS all over my room, I got electrocuted by a lightswitch with no cover on it, flooding toilet and leaking bath, heat that would not turn off. WORST STAY EVER!!!!!

Two nights ago my mother and I stayed at the Best Western, we were in town for a funeral and just wanted a nice, relatively cheap place to stay. We read reviews online and picked the Best Western. We were not disappointed! Upon arrival we were a little annoyed that the hotel was right beside the 401 highway (we didn't look at the location before hand) but we didn't hear a single car! We were so impressed. I am the lightest sleeper and didn't even wake up once. Breakfast was great - hot and cold options available, fresh pastries and fruit. There was two different kinds of omelettes, potatoes and sausage patties as well. A great variety. The breakfast attendant was very kind and helpful, gave her condolences when we mentioned why were in town. She was very sweet! The front desk staff were also very helpful, they gave my mom directions on how to get to the funeral home and at some point throughout the night my mom dropped her clutch outside without noticing, the front desk called our room right away and ensured it was returned with everything in it. My only minimal complaint was that the bathroom was not as clean as it could have been but it wasn't too bad! Thank you to the Best Western team for making a horrible day a little bit better.

I was surprised to find such a great rate at this hotel through Hotels.com, but with it's proximity to the 401 and the GO train line, I wasn't expecting the quality that this hotel provides. The front lobby is very clean and professional looking. David working the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful, resulting in a very quick check-in. He was also very quick to my request for cutlery when I ordered food for delivery and the restaurant had forgotten to send it. He even had some condiments as well. Very smart. The room was comfortable, very warm, and, surprisingly, very quiet. Oh sure, I could hear people talking and walking in the hall occasionally, but no traffic or train noise. The internet speed is not too great, but sufficient for light browsing/email. Don't expect to stream Netflix at HD quality. But there is a nice tv in the room, so there's that. Breakfast in the morning again was not what I was expecting. Usually it's a continental breakfast, a few muffins or bagels, and coffee. I was not expecting a variety of omelets, some of the most excellent breakfast sausages I've had in a long time, good variety of pastries and breads, fruit, and exceptional coffee. Good job all around! I will definitely stay here again!

We stayed in a King room which was very spacious and clean. Bathroom area felt a little dated but nothing that would change my Over all ratings. The room was quiet and had everything we needed. The staff we came in contact with were all very helpful and friendly. I had a request and it was met very quickly. I would stay here again without hesitation.

It was our first time staying in Oshawa. Although it was a reservation made for convenience due to our plans and the inclement weather forecast, we could not have chose a better location. The front desk clerk was professional and efficient. We were given a room on the main level and this was very convenient. The room was standard for the Best Western hotel. I was concerned about the proximity to the 401 Highway, but there was not a spec of noise at any time. Pricing was amazing as compared to what I pay recently. Great value for the money. Cheese omelettes on the complementary breakfast, nice touch.

We had to travel last minute to Oshawa and we booked this place not knowing what to expect. The hotel is dated and by all means it's not luxury, however it is clean, the air is not stale as in other hotels and offers the essentials to get a good night sleep. The front desk staff was extremely professional and helpful. We had a great breakfast and there are many options for everyone. I personally did not like it that there are atairs to get to the lobby but once I checked in I was shown the first floor option which is accessible through the parking lot. I didn't get a chance to use their fitness room but I would definitely use it next time. The beds are very comfortable and had lots of pillows which I love (did not have to call front desk to ask for extras). Also, and very important to me because I am a light sleeper, the air/heat exchange did not make any noise and that contributed to my good night rest!

Great value ! Staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was great room was clean and location and parking was good will stay again when visiting the area and like to collect my BW points .. would recommend for your stay if your in town for a sports event as well

We stayed one night, Christmas Day, and highly recommend this budget-friendly, clean hotel. Check in was quick and clerk was most accommodating. The beds are comfortable. This will be where we stay for our future trips to Oshawa. Absolutely no complaints.

Baby shower prestay, excellent location right off the highway, easy to get around the area close proximity to walmart and a few other major stores, would love to stay again sometime if I'm in the area, the front dest staff that checked us in was very delightful, made the checking in experience quick and easy, no pool however.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Nice continental breakfast. Overall a good experience. I was dissapointed the fridge was not on and ready for us to use. I recommended more staff in the evenings as check in was a little slow.

Stayed here to do some Christmas shopping at the Oshawa Center just down the road. Room was very large, clean and bed and pillows were comfortable. They offered free breakfast with your stay. The lady at the desk was very pleasant and we enjoyed our stay. Room has a fridge and microwave. They do not have safes in your room, we couldn't find one. Overall good stay. We will definitely be back.

The hotel is easy to find as you can see it from the 401. Also its close to major shopping areas and the Go train in Oshawa. The rooms are large and spacous. The breakfast selections are great with plenty of variety.

The staff attempted to be helpful by accommodating our request to change the initial room assignment to a better one. The change was from dreadful to ugly. The location is a wasteland between the industrial area and the 401. When we asked for a couple of glasses in our room, we were told that only plastic was available. Our room was depressing. We have stayed in much better BW's all over the world.

Hotel was quiet considering being right by the highway. Unfortunately there was a bus group on the 2nd night and they left very early on Sunday morning and they didn't respect that people may be sleeping at 6:30 am on a Sunday and were quite loud with conversations while they were leaving the hotel to catch their bus - not the hotel's fault though.

Do not go here. The staff is extremely disrespectful. I mean the hotel is average for a best western however I'm less to believe the terrible ratings of this hotel is due to one of the staff members in particular

Best Western needs to change their policy regarding their upfront payment. They make customers pay their entire stay, 1 day or 10 days. I don't know of any other hotel chain that makes you pay for something that far in advance before you even see your room or stay over night. Completely ridiculous! Rooms are clean except the bathroom. They need to bleach the grout. No one wants to see mold!

We stayed at this hotel just a couple of weeks ago. This hotel is very clean and so are the grounds all around. Customer service was great. The girl on the desk was so accomodating and got me hot water to make a tea as it was late in the evening. Overall a good experience and would definitely stay here again

I am writing to provide an excellent review for David Kiezebrink of your hotel. David was exceptionally amazing. My daughter Michelle Fowler had checked into the hotel on Aug 3rd as she was getting married on the next day (Aug 4th) at Parkwood Estates and she had booked reservations for her entire bridal party. I had come to the hotel to her room and my necklace that I was supposed to wear for the wedding broke. David fixed my necklace that broke and saved my day. We were in such a dilemma because it happened 2 hours before the wedding ceremony. He was relentless working with a broken pliar and a staple pin, while attending to guests, phone calls and and trying to fix my necklace in between all this. He is the epitomy of customer service and a valuable asset to your Best Western because he is just a natural at customer service. He went beyond and above his duty to provide service and really saved the day for me. I would like him to be recognized for his exceptional customer service skills.

We chose this hotel because of the proximity to the VIA rail train station. Nice and close to catch our train to go to Quebec. We were not disappointed. The room was nice and the breakfast was exceptional -- lots of choice with a very well maintained breakfast room. Very attentive front desk staff.

We were in need of staying in a hotel for the night as we were on route to Quebec city from Toronto after arriving later than expected on our flight. This hotel had one room only left (a regular 2 double bed room) and they felt it was necessary to gouge us and were going to charge me $395 for the room. To say the least I was not impressed at all since the need to be greedy was no longer relevant when they already had 99% occupancy. We had to drive over another hour and ended up staying in Belleville. They also only had the one room left (same 2 doubles) and charged a high but acceptable $205 for the room. I was shocked that a Best Western Hotel would do this sort of practice. I go out of my way to stay in a Best Western hotel when I travel, this sort of practice was not expected. Between 2007 and 2012 I was staying an average of 60 nights a year at Best Western, so I have given a lot of business over the years.

It is an old hotel in a run down part of town there are no amenities such as classy restaurant, lounge or anything within walking distance. we had to drive quite a distance to find a good lunch meal. Even driving through this area of Oshawa after dark is intimidating. We had certain expectations since we always try to stay at a Best western Plus, and this one was very disappointing, it was an old hotel without any value for $300.00 Canadian per night. We would have been happier with a cheap motel. We'll be sure to avoid the area next time. The room itself was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We were close to a train track and the noise kept us awake for part of the night.

The staff here a credit to the Best Western company. From the moment I stepped out of the taxi, the staff were courteous, respectful and pleasant, going the extra mile to help me with my bags as I'm physically impaired. I couldn't ask for better service. It really made my first day in Canada pleasant and easy. Thank you again!

Fantastic room and the breakfast is always great. Thanks for always giving me a great place to lay my head. I am always blown away with the breakfast that is there in the morning. The make your own waffles are always fun and delicious too.

The staff at this Best Western were welcoming (even received a call asking if we needed anything and although it was a holiday, they opened breakfast early for guests), but I would say the hotel itself was okay. It is clear that the hotel is older and can use some updates in the rooms and bathrooms. However, for a one-night stay and for the price it was satisfactory. Most impressed by the staff.

The staff went out of their way to make us happy and comfortable, however there was a couple of little things that we didn't love. For one, the layout of the room was odd - the sink was not in the washroom, and the lights for above the sink were in the closet. We didn't find them until right before we left. Second, the air conditioning was not very adjustable and it was wayyy to warm in our room. It was so warm that our daughter slept only in her diaper. One of the staff members did give us a fan to help which was nice. Overall, it was a good experience.

I picked this hotel because it was recommended by a coworker, however I'm a Hilton girl so I should have stuck to my favourite hotel chain. This hotel isn't bad or anything, I just prefer the Hilton beds, comforters and special treatment I get for being a Diamond member. The area is quiet, the hotel is clean and the gym is pretty good for a hotel. There's a Walmart in a group of box stores across the highway if you need groceries (about a three minute drive) or if you're like me McDonalds coffee....but I still prefer a nearby free standing McDonalds that's open 24 hours :) I didn't take pictures because I was lazy after flying and unpacked my bag lol But I stayed on the second floor which is also the same floor as the lobby and dining area where breakfast is provided.

Good long term stay. We stayed far from the areas where sports teams and bus tours were so our room was quiet. 2nd floor. Results will vary depending upon the area of the hotel. Never heard any sounds from other rooms sonfor us, a quiet stay.

Rooms are clean! Staff are amazing and the breakfast leaves you feeling full and satisfied:) the staff made sure we were comfortable and called the room just after check in to ensure nothing else was needed :)

Hotel employees were very friendly and accommodating. Room was spacious and clean. I really appreciated the lemon water in the reception area!! Excellent fitness center that I wished I had time to check out.

Breakfast is great has all you need easy check in and out great place to stay fast check out only little complaint is sometimes so busy you can't eat breakfast in the room and have to take it back to your room. Don't think the hotel is worth/valued at the cost that we paid. We had to wait 40 minutes to check in because the rooms were not ready at 3pm, this put us behind schedule for the conference we had to get ready for. Also the main entrance is not wheelchair accessible.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast area was very small and eating area was small office. Did not like how you had to register at the lobby by going up stairs to get to the reception area. Our room was located on the first floor so back down the stairs to get to the room.

I had advised them that I would be arriving late. When we arrived it was after 10pm they were expecting and every thing was ready and waiting for me when I arrived. The free coffe was not stabuck so that was good because I don't starbuck

With the new on line check in, the check in is fast because all the information is recorded.The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The location was close to the highway yet was quiet in the room and you do not hear the traffic.

Excellent hotel that was available late at night when we needed to stop. Unfortunately the only accesible room was already taken. So, my sister who has MS had to manage without amenities for the disabled but she was able to. Don't trust Goole Maps to get there.

hotel in disrepair. water stains on ceiling, paint peeling in shower area, bathroom too small to move in, no shampoo refills, no microwave as promised, fridge too small to use, water pipes making noise all night long making sleep difficult, no pool, no restaurant, nothing within walking distance, parking spaces unplowed and difficult to park in with the mound of snow and ice. overall poor quality hotel. was charged $180 a night for something that should be no more than $100. Very shameful on their part. They had a lot of promises of a nice hotel but clearly are not able to deliver.

Very accommodating amd pleasurable trip. The hotel cleaning staff worked around our unusual schedules so we were not disturbed while sleeping. The owner was very kind and friendly he went above and beyond.

Hotel is old. Phone was not repaired for three days. Staff were sloppy, eating food while checking us in, open soft drink bottles and cups on front desk while checking in and on other occasions. Bed very comfortable.

In the area for a family event, we picked this hotel after checking price and location of hotels in the area. We were glad we chose this one. Located just off Exit 415 of the 401, it was a perfect location for restaurants (we went to the Milestones in Whitby) and for an early morning drive to Ajax to attend our event. The hotel was quiet despite, judging by the parking lot and the number of people at breakfast, being quite busy. We were also well insulated from traffic noise. Everything worked well, including the shower, internet and TV. The breakfast was excellent, the usual buffet arrangement but the scrambled eggs and bacon were warm and well prepared. A special kudos to the front desk staff,, who were dealing with a customer who was having a problem, yet they got us checked in with absolutely no problem. WE'll stay here again.

Overpriced for a 3 star - tiny rooms, smelly halls, & grungy lobby. Bathroom sink is outside of bathroom, so difficult to get ready in the morning or at night, if others are trying to sleep because light shines onto beds. TV is very basic cable, with clicker that was difficult to work. Microwave and fridge were handy, but in closet. Breakfast-fabulous-only upside. Price charged for night was sickening as it was doubled because of hockey and volleyball tournaments occurring in Oshawa. If this had been priced at about $100 it would have been a good deal. Restaurants & shopping not within walking distance. Will find an Airbnb next time rather than give big chains so much money. Book at La Quinta if possible - only hotel that didn't increase their prices for this weekend.

We stayed here recently for a weekend family getaway. It's conveniently located about 1 km from the Oshawa Go-Train station (which is why we chose it). The service was second to none. The staff actually went above and beyond anything that would have been expected. The hotel is a little older, but our room was cleaner than most hotels I've stayed at (and I've stayed at a lot of hotels). The wifi was perfect and breakfast was great. For the price, I'd highly recommend this hotel.

Good priced hotel, conveniently located close to the go station, friendly and helpful staff, inclusive breakfast with a great variety pastries, waffles, eggs, sausaces ect, we had a double queen room and it was spacious with a microwave and small fridge

We spent one night in December and found it quite comfortable. Certainly a little dated but everything was clean and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was a little more difficult - small room and there was a cheerleading competition in town - so a little busy. Very nice and would definitely stay again

The hotel was slightly out-dated but clean and pleasant. The hotel staff were very kind and nice to speak to. There was noise from the transit but nothing to keep you awake, unless you are sensitive to noises. Breakfast was decent and well stocked. Our cost was higher due to us having to stay with a sporting group - but looking at the regular stay costs - it would have been fine. The location was good as well for shopping - literally just a few blocks away from Oshawa Centre and down the street from the hockey arena. And you can avoid the 401 to get around from the hotel.

We stayed at the Best Western Durham last night as we were attending a party in Whitby and didn't want to drive afterwards. This hotel is located just off the highway on the border of Whitby & Oshawa and is directly north of the GM assembly plant. So you're not staying here for the views! If coming from the east, it's a tight left turn immediately after you go under the Stephenson Road overpass. The lobby area is clean and tidy - a little bright for my tastes but the front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. You are only going to hang in the lobby if you're waiting for a cab really. The room (211) was spacious and included a good sized fridge and safe. The sink is outside the bathroom and the whole place was very clean. There is an ice machine & vending machines so maybe ask for a room further away from there if noise bothers you. Typically, for this sort of hotel, a lot of noise travels under the room door so you will hear people in the halls and people occasionally letting their doors slam. Otherwise, we heard no noise at all and had a good night's sleep on the firm beds with plenty of pillows. The drinks vending machine takes bills but the snacks vending machine only takes coins but the front desk has change if you need it. Breakfast was your typical business breakfast - make your own waffles; sausage; scrambled eggs; cheese omelettes; breakfast potatoes; fruit; facilities for making tea, coffee & juice. A bagel toaster and a fridge with cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, milk etc. There was a staff member there constantly cleaning and refilling the food. We noticed a picnic area outside that had a bbq and some picnic benches but in November, not much call to use it! One of the conference rooms was being used as a church on Sunday morning so the parking lot became packed during service. Just north of the highway is a mall with some food options (Subway, Swiss Chalet, Five Guys, Pita Pit, Starbucks) with a Lowes and Walmart nearby. We wanted to stay closer in Whitby but were put off by either. the bad reviews of the Quality Suites and Motel 6 or the high prices of the Holiday Inn Express and Residence Inn. Overall, a pleasant place to rest your head. I'd stay again if the need arises.

I typically stay in the Durham Region when I am visiting The GTA, because it is close to my son's place. I have stayed in other hotels in the area, but the Best Western Plus Durham provides much more value, cleanliness, amenities, etc... than the rest of the hotels in the area. The staff are great, the rooms are very comfortable and roomy, it is very close to the 401 which makes it much more convenient to travel in and out, and the price is just right.

The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Water pressure and temperature in the shower were perfect. Breakfast options were plentiful. Location is conveniently located near the GO station and the highway.

Recently stayed for one night and everything was absolutely perfect.. We have stayed in countless hotels in Canada and Europe (4&5 star) and felt this stay was excellent value for money. Clean freaks can probably relate that a clean remote for TV is a plus as is the hotel guide binder. The pages were all intact and CLEAN, I have browsed through many with ripped pages and spills on a few pages. Breakfast room was very well stocked and had LOTS to choose from, although I am not a big fan of the 'eggs' countless hotels use, the flavour of their omelet patties was quite tasty. Great helpful friendly staff.

We are from Oshawa and have relatives there, so this Hotel is close to them. We need to be close right now as there is a Cancer battle to be won and we need the support. This is close enough to Sunnybrook Hospital and the drive there in the morning is after rush hour and the visit with Dr.s is over before rush hour on the way home.

Very nice, spacious room; well lighted and clean. Beds are the same as in a Sheraton hotel. Breakfast has good, many options, but is served in a small room and then there is also a small dining room where one can eat. Location is next to the highway, but nothing objectionable. Staff are polite. This is a good hotel for the price.

My team usually stays here because it close to the site where we work from. The staff here are terrific, the rooms are comfortable. The price is ok for the GTA. They do serve a Motel style self serve breakfast in the morning. Its ok. My teams usually goes to Timmies or Starbucks for there coffee. Overall its a good place to stay in Oshawa.

The two employees, a blonde woman I believe her name was Mackenzie or Mickayla?... and Michael... ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! They went above and beyond to make my stay amazing. It was one of the best hotel experiences I have EVER had, and I have stayed at a lot of hotels across Canada. These two people deserve recognition for their amazing work ethic. I was so impressed and I have already recommended this hotel to people since my stay last week. I will definitely be back next time I stay in Oshawa/Whitby. I had no choice but staying at this hotel because our trip was planned last min. We paid double the normal amount.. I mean yes it was last min. but the room quality DID NOT meet my expectation. The odor in the room was unpleasant... moldy. The AC was so loud. Staffs were very kind tho.

This hotel is right off the 401 in Oshawa. It was relatively quiet and worth the price. It was clean and the the staff were courteous and friendly. I would stay there again. I would think no rooms have a great view due to the hotels location, but if you're just sleeping there who cares.

We recently stayed at Best western Durham and our room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is dated and located near busy train tracks which we heard a few times during the night. There is a free breakfast but the breakfast area was small and crowded. Internet was very slow. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very conveniently located next to highway 401. Our room was clean and the staff was very friendly. The beds were very confortable also. Beware, the hotel has no pool and no lundry facility. Breakfast is a bit different. The food is in one room and then you walk across a hall to a different room to eat. Not the best choice if traveling with children.

Beware of the major price up-charge for weekend stays! There was plenty of parking if you are travelling with a truck and cargo trailer. Easy access from the 401 IF you know how to get to it from the 401 Exit (#415) -- Hotel can't really be seen from the highway. We were using the hotel as a jumping off point to go to the Friday the 13th motorcycle event at Port Dover.

We stayed here during a lacrosse tournament, with 4 age 16-21 girls in each player room. Coaches and parents in different rooms. Toilet stopped working i my daughters room on Saturday and they gave the girls a plunger to fix it! So they went without a working toilet Saturday. Called down on Sunday Morning before they needed to get ready and were TD since they were checking out today they could use the public washroom in lobby. Ugghhhh!! The breakfast area is very small and is unbearably warm. No plan to return to this property, look elsewhere!

Outside the hotel looks a bit dated. But the welcome was warm. Got to my room, which was clean, updated and pleasant. Had the breakfast which was good, plenty of choice. Had a room on the same side as the motorway but was still quiet. Will stay again.

Stayed here for a night with my family while visiting Whitby. A bit group of hockey kids were staying there as well, and were very loud and inconsiderate. Got woken up by them running up and down the halls at 2AM yelling, and the parents were there and just as bad. Told front desk in the morning and they didn't seem to care. Breakfast was good but had been dominated and picked clean by the hockey team, which despite being clearly up late, we're at breakfast at 7AM. Very disappointed that the hotel staff didn't step in at this clearly entitled and obnoxious behaviour.

We rented a King Suite here while attending a relatives wedding. We were quite pleased with the room that we got as it had a flat scene TV, free parking, free wi-fi. The room was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. There was a continental breakfast included but it is not pet friendly. We had to have pets look after our dogs over the weekend. There is a conference room and fitness center.

This hotel offers a full breakfast, very interesting! My room was clean and comfortable. Only the heater was hard to manage. I was pleased with great and welcoming staff. Hotel easy to find close by the 401.

Overall the rooms are clean and the cleaning staff are very friendly. If you enjoy being overcharged and talked to like a child by management/the general manager then this is the place for you. I highly recommend the general manager should receive training on proper communication and professional customer service skills. Management was very rude and did not seem to care at all about their customer's happiness in regards to the service they are providing them. I would rate this hotel lower if I could. Definitely will not be coming back even if I have a free stay.

We needed a place to stay for 1 night and this was great value for the cost. The staff were friendly, the room was very clean, the hot breakfast was great with lots of choices. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a short stay.

Stopped as yeah we have the freezing rain and driving wasn't no fun. Conveniently located next to the 401 modern hotel rooms are a good size comfortable warm and clean. Staff friendly and polite I stayed on the ground floor and was quiet. It's nice as they do serve breakfast as well.

We stayed here for a week. The hotel met all our needs. The room was spacious and clean. The conference room was a good place for our meetings. The breakfast area was a disappointment. It was small and not as plentiful as the other hotels we have used in the past. But overall, a decent hotel for the price.

Hubby and I were on our way home to Ottawa from St. Catharines and stayed overnight in Oshawa so we could visit family in Ajax. I consulted Trip Advisor beforehand to find a well priced place to stay in the area. The Best Western Plus Durham Hotel & Conference Centre offered the best rates along with good ratings so we checked in for one night. The young man at the front desk "Rapheel?", was very pleasant, efficient and friendly upon reception. Our room was on the second floor. The Hotel is quite close to the highway and we could hear some traffic noise but not enough to bother us. We had a wonderfully firm, comfortable king size bed. The room was quite cool upon arrival but we cranked the heat up a bit and it was okay. There was a bar fridge in the room which was handy for keeping our water bottles in for the next day and the Wifi (free) was really good. A complimentary breakfast was being offered until 9 a.m. but we actually didn't wake up until 9:30. :) Slept for 11 hours!!! It's a bit tricky to access the Hotel and there really isn't anywhere close by to grab snacks or breakfast but we did find a Tim Horton's a few blocks away. We'd stay here again.

Out Stay for New Years eve was a well attended and a great event. The staff was helpful and easy to deal with. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We have stayed it this hotel before and would go back no problem.

Overall this was a great stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was surprised by the great variety of foods at breakfast. I would definitely go again! 30 to 40 min from Downtown Toronto. Good distance to travel with children if you don't want to pay too much for hotel during your stay.

There are none stop trains on tracks that keep you up most of the night, oddly placed sinks outside of bathroom, light switches for main light hidden in closet, broken bathtub plugs with no resolution, and heat won't shut off.

Do recommend for a good price and experience for anyone! Our band loved it. We felt at home the whole time we stayed and always had service right away when we needed it. The room was perfect for what we needed and extremely roomy and clean!

This hotel was our second experience with Best Western.We were satisfied even though this was an older location it was in good condition. The staff were excellent especially the breakfast host. It was in a good location for us on our visit to the area.

The property is very clean and the staff most helpful. Check in was fast and the room spacious and very clean. It also had a refrigerator and microwave which allowed me to have food available without the need to search for a restaurant every night. The location was close to a major highway and shopping.

The hotel was impeccably clean. The staff was courteous and very friendly. I was surprised at just how comfortable the bed was. The gounds were neat and pleasant to look at. It was easy to find and located right off the freeway.

Mid November 2017, my husband was in the local hospital. I registered late in the evening. Reception staff very pleasant and the room was comfortable after a long day in the hospital. Highly recommend.

Go place to stay if going to Toronto from the east as it is beside the GO train station and you can take the train in avoiding all of the Toronto traffic. If you are leaving downtown Toronto and going east bound in the late afternoon it can take over 2 hours to get to this hotel, but if you get the train it is about a 45 minute trip and you jump in your car at which point you are east of the traffic and on the 401 in 5 minutes. Besides parking is free versus $40 in Toronto!

Great room, extremely clean hotel. The staff was very friendly. My wife mentioned several times just how spotless and clean the entire facility was. The breakfast room perfect as well. Great beds. I highly recommend this Best Western.

This hotel is very comfortable and the staff is really welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay but there are two things worth mentioning: 1- Location is a bit tricky to get too at first. Once you know it, you're good. 2- If you have long hair, do not wash it or check the pressure first! Maybe I was unlucky and everyone was having a shower at the same time (twice) but it definitely needs some fixing. Other than that, great place to stay!

Stay we had was fine located near the area we needed to be in . the young lady ( I forget her name ??)hosting the breakfast was really nice and pleasant. the food was OK I stuck with cereal but the coffee was fine and the selection of juices was nice. Our housekeeper Neda was very pleasant..

Very satisfied with our stay at this hotel. Very good breakfast and room excellent, and location suited our requirements. The staff were very good on arrival and express checkout suited our needs. Beds very comfortable as were all facilities.

Comfy bedroom, clean and quiet, nice price. Breakfast buffet included wich was very nice, lots of choices, warm. The lady at the buffet was always smiling and making sure everybody was having what they wanted. Lots of fruits.

I guess we have been pretty spoiled by staying at hotels offering free breakfast in the morning. This one was not up to scratch at all. While the room was clean, the breakfast area was not. They were out of orange juice, had one “egg” left in the warmer, had tarts still in their store bought plastic container, and waffle mix that actually tasted bad — something I didn't think was even possible. Location was great, right off the 401, but that was about it.

I booked into this hotel for 2 days as had meetings nearby and was impressed with the service. The rooms were nicely decorated and most importantly, they were clean and had a good wifi signal which was important to me as I needed it for business. The location was great and parking was no problem. All the staff were very friendly, but particularly Cindy at the front desk was incredible. I had forgotten some files which I needed and she was kind enough to print them off and copy them for me while I went for breakfast. She even went so far as to print off driving directions to my meeting for me. A true example of excellent customer service. I travel out East about 4 times a year and will definitely return to this hotel on my next trip out.

Staff are so friendly and polite, came to check in and Cindy brought me down to my room and showed me where the breakfast was held in the morning. The elevator entrance around the side is great for people that have trouble with stairs at the front door. Room was clean, smelled great, nice mint on bed and great personal touch. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Close to 401

TV was broken, Phone was broken, (they said they could not fix them, and I would get use to the huge black spot in the middle of the TV screen) Closet door was broken, bathroom ceiling falling apart, Internet kept crashing, no cell signal... Bus arrived at 5:30am and the screaming and yelling woke us all up, no one was there to control the group. I will NEVER stay here again, and for a Gold Elite Member... I would have been better off sleeping in my car !!

It was smelly, couldn`t take a shower we had no cold water just extremely hot water, there was a smell through out the hotel of old, smokey and dusty. It was also very pricey. We stay because it was a group booking will never stay again.

Hotel is dirty, poor maintenance of the rooms, door lock battery is bad. Wouldn't recommend anyone to stay at this property. Breakfast choices are not bad but the food didn't look very appertizing, eggs were over cooked, too dry, bacons were too greasy.

Good hotel for traveling into Toronto area at an affordable cost. Covers the basics well - clean, comfortable rooms and a delicious breakfast. We only needed to visit a few locations in and around Toronto so there was no need to stay in Toronto itself.

A good place to stay for a visit to Toronto. Amenities are adequate for family get-togethers. The cooperation with Pelican Events and Catering is convenient and the facilities are comfortable. Staff is very accommodating.

We landed at Toronto airport and booked this hotel because when we last stayed at an airport hotel they were expensive and the crowning glory was you had to pay to park overnight as a resident- never again. After a long Day flying in from the UK it was disappointing that the key did not work. We are not sure where the publicity pictures were taken from, but they did not seem to be the same place. The breakfast was good

i found this hotel expensive first night was two hundred and eighty dollars for room second night was one hundred and twenty dollars for the same room hotel had a great continental breakfast the best that i have tried in any hotel anywhere,rooms are spacious,staff are friendly not really close to any restaurants whithin walking distance however it was off the beaten path and very quiet.

The staff at this hotel cannot be beat ! Each contact with a staff member was nothing less than excellent !! kEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK TO ALL ! Just wish the mattress was softer so I could have a more sound sleep .

Just off the Highway at Stevenson exit it is surprisingly quiet. The only descernable noise was large trucks pulling in on the north side but it is a short time. The review about the sliding glass doors at front .. it's for protection in cold winters! Open one side at a time creating a barrier to cold and snow - it could be better signed but that's Minot Room was spotless well apppointed and was super comfortable. Small fridge and microwave is super handy. This hotel made me change my opinion for the in Best Western chains and will stay here again

This is the second time that i stayed at this hotel. I find that the hotel is very clean....the rooms are well pointed and the beds to be very comfortable. staff are very nice and the breakfast is the best that we have had at any hotel (including are trips to Florida. We will always return to this hotel......thanks for the great 2 day stay.

We stayed at this hotel on 9/23/17. We often stay at BW's 4 different ones this month. But at $329 a night for a single room in Oshawa, that is Price Gouging. We stayed in an Ottawa BW the next several nights in a suite for less than $200.

I've stayed at a lot of hotels and this one is definitely odd. Hotels.com had screwed up my reservation but the night guy worked hard to get us into a room. The layout is just plain strange. Two of the doors we tried to get into were ‘Exit Only'. I've never seen that before. We had to get in through a remote-controlled sliding glass door. We couldn't use our keycard to get in - we had to buzz but it took 3 tries until it/someone let us in. The room was hot and the A/C really had almost no effect on cooling the room down - even after I turned it all the way down. In the end it worked because we were just so tired.

The friendly staff make up for the few small issues. No a/c in room and it was a hot weekend. The bathtub seems to have a fitting over the tub, and we didn't feel safe as the sides slanted inwards. Breakfast had lots of selections, which is nice. The shampoo and conditioner were not good, bring your own ( we forgot ours )

We had an enjoyable stay at the BW Durham. We booked as a team and the hotel placed all the team families on the same floor. The location was convenient for going east/west. We will definitely book this hotel again.

The room was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Great pillows! The heater on wall was not working properly, could only get cold air but the wall register worked well. Great shower. Good size room.

Located just near all the amenities, the hotel is clean and provides you great hospitality.The hotel staff is very helpful and will guide you throughout your stay.The staffs were very helpful.The hotel provides you almost every facility from good rooms to breakfast. This was a great place to stay. Close to the Go train and it was clean and quiet. Just the type of place to stay. The staff was great and if you are a celiac they have gluten free toast, fruit and hot cereal.

If you travel for vacation it's not an appropriate hotel. It looks to the highways and a big factory. The corridors smell smoke and dust. The room was ok but again the view was on the parking lot. The advantages are free parking and breakfast included in the price.

Good location close to everything in Oshawa. Clean room and quiet. Breakfast to go was terrible. Rotten apples and a granola bar. Would be easy to have coffee and pastries in the lobby. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

I was in town for a conference at UOIT. This was one of the hotels recommended as all the accommodations on campus were full. I was very happy with this choice. It is an older building but they have taken the time to give it a face lift and it's very nice.

Bathroom was dirty with many hair around the toilet seat as well as in the tub/shower. We were on the same level as A hockey tournament group. Te boys were loud in the hallway and slamming doors until way past midnight, but I understand that it was out of their control. However the room cleanliness should have been much better at $300/night!!!

On our way back from Niagara and a visit in Toronto we stop in Oshawa for a night. Very nice place close to the 401, rooms are good but the mattress needed to be change. Room was clean and the breakfast was good, for the price I would stop there again.

Door locks don't work properly, water pressure comes and goes (stops completely when showering just for fun), internet is slower than most hotels and staff don't seem overly interested in fixing the issues.

This hotel was quite nice in decor and excellent service. The bed was very comfortable. The washroom was on the small side but adequate. The breakfast was quite good as well. The two issues we had were the room was on the warm side and we could not get it any cooler. But the worst part was the internet, it was very slow or did not load at all. We asked front desk and they said to call the company. We called them twice but it didn't help that much. This was frustrating, especially for our teenage sons. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel. It is good quality for the money.

Near the train, clean, good breakfast, fridge in room , great staff, comfort, everything was fine and at a good price, we will be coming back for sure. Better park at the hotel and go walking for the train best choice to go in downtown Toronto, only one hour away by Go train to Union station

This property is no frills but decent. Just stayed here with my kids for our lacrosse tournament. There isn't a pool and our room didn't have a working heater. (I know being August and all...I wasn't feeling well and wanted some heat. I also tried to dry my son's lacrosse gear and it ended up soaking wet - the drip tray was full) The location was good - near 401. The included breakfast was atrocious. I've have to assume the hotel buys the items precooked then reheats them. Even the cottage cheese/yogurt was tepid. No pool - but they did have a basketball court. That was pretty cool. They also had a small courtyard with bbq . Free WiFi connection was terrible. If I had a choice though - I probably would choose a different hotel.

It was a short family trip planned at the last minute nearby Lake Ontario region (beach, zoo, parcs) and we offered our little boy his first night at the hotel experience. He was very excited to spend a night in an hotel room and far from home, he feel all grown up now! Thanks!

We have stayed at this location many times and find the rooms immaculate. ( main reason why we return).The staff is accommodating, friendly and very helpful. The room location is always easily accessible by elevator although we most often use the steps on arrival. The rooms are quiet and in a well lit area.

I used them for my wedding guests. Was very happy that they allowed my guests to ck in early prior to wedding. Adam was very helpful when I booked my block of rooms as well as the front desk staff every one was very friendly

Over priced for what it is. Stinky room, small and dirty. No AC, far away from everything. Just honestly try somewhere else. If your gonna stay at a low end hotel pay for a low end hotel. Not this place.

Moderate hotel with basic amenities. Free breakfast ok. Staff pleasant - only saw 4 ppl. Very quiet even though beside 401 Oshawa. Broke our budget for family event so couldn't really enjoy break away.

Wasn't here long...got in late and left early but this was a nice place...I was worried when I booked through hotels.com that it might be in a seedy area but great well lit parking lots with lots of room to park my truck and trailer. Check in service was wonderful. room was very clean, modern and good thermostat control. It was quiet despite Hwy 401 being closeby. Would definitely go again given its good value. Left too early in the morning for the free breakfast which is too bad...they offer a bite to go option for early risers but when I asked about it for my son and I, the morning guy acted like he didn't know what I was talking about, gave me one bottle of Perrier and a bag of pretzels...said he didn't have the water or fruit, and didn't have anything for 2 people, just one...that kind of sucked. I would caution that for older people you need to state you need a spot near the front as there can be a lot of walking as the hotel as a few wings that are very long. Even coming in from the street level, you have to walk upstairs to go to the lobby/office which would not be great for elderly or disabled folks. They likely have options but not as handy as some places.

We found that gps does not direct you to this location. Front desk said it has been that way for about 3 years. I suggested they send an email to Garmin and other gps locating device companies and explain the road has changed. it will take some time, but will be worth it to help customers find them, especially if coming from the East. Rooms are nice, but did not find vanity light switch for 3 days. It is in the closet. Must not have been moved when remodeled building. Front desk people were all very friendly and helpful. You hear the fast train at night in the back side of building.

Good , clean room , nice smells and atmosphere.. price higher then others on my way but it worth it. I recommend this place to anybody wanna stay near Toronto as for me it was optimal solution for that I was expecting...

I needed somewhere to stay while I was attending the VARAC races at Mosport and found this accommodation through Hotels.com and was very pleased with the accommodation. The location not so much. Right beside a busy train track. Also, the windows did not seal properly.

My husband and I stayed at the Best Westen in Oshawa for one night on our way the the U2 concert in Toronto. Great place to stay, quiet, clean, plus we were informed by the staff at check in that we were within walkable distance form the GO train! Amazing!

We had a wonderful weekend (3 nights) The rooms were very clean and pleasant. The staff were most accommodating and helpful and the food was excellent. The hotel's caterers (Pelican) are to be commended.

Nice hotel. Staff very friendly. Looked after all our needs. My father in law needed something to help in the shower. They went out of their way to put a seat in the tub so he could sit down. He also made sure it was in our room when e came back to stay a night later.

this is the first time that i stayed over, at this hotel. my wife was in the hospital....for 2 days. i picked this hotel, because it was in a good location. it was also very clean, quiet and had a wonderful breakfast . i had a great stay.

This Hotel is staffed by extremely helpful and professional staff. The items on the breakfast bar are vast and fresh. A small window allows fresh air into the room and even though the hotel is surrounded by major roads, the sound is like white noise. There is a fantastic Seafood restaurant close by called Halibut House with fresh, reasonably priced items.

If you like your morning breakfast, this hotel offers a great selection!. In addition, the staff is super friendly and accommodating, they also offer free parking - which was easy to find even on a busy weekend, and free wifi which is always a plus. I had nothing but a great experience, highly recommended.

I was very impressed with the entire staff! Especially the cleaning staff. They were so polite and I felt they truly cared about my comfort and needs. The price for my stay was the best I found in the area. Even though I had to cut my stay short, I was treated with the utmost respect in a manner that I haven't seen in a very long time.

We had a good time at our anniversary celebration. Staff was very accommodating and the property is well maintained. We particularly liked the blooming trees outside. Breakfasts presented an excellent choice of food and drink, with generous hours and quantities.

We were here for a convention and can only rave abut the attention paid to our enjoying the stay. This is an old motel, totally refurbished. The room has the old orientation of sink outside the bathroom and many people like that configuration. The old baseboard heating was left with the addition of a heat pump. Both had their own thermostats which was appreciated as the heat pump wasn't working. Beds and chairs were comfortable.Breakfast was good and the location first class. The serving part of the breakfast area was completely separate from the eating area (across the hall), so there was no bottleneck and preparation was quick and painless. Staff were very friendly and really helpful, even if it wasn't their job. The elevator in an old two story was unique and very welcome. Catering for the convention was first rate.

It was a great price. Close to wedding at golf course. Easy to get two. Over all looks on line great Called to book room. Very nice and easy. No problems. Easy questions and answers. Very happy with Staff at hotel.

Work home ok place for extended stay great breakfast ya got to be early if you want a sample of everything. Quiet place accept whe they have tour groups or events at hotel. Parking is an issue when hotel is full. Over all in still here 3 month I a row so that says something

I stayed one night for a Lions Club Convention. The staff was friendly, very prepared to receive our large group and everything went smoothly. Breakfast was great, hotel was clean and everyone working always seemed to have a smile and was genuinely happy to have you stay with them

Great location, just off hwy. close to shopping mall and outlet centre and hockey arena, comfy bed. good breakfast, speedy check in and out. nice to enter and exit from the side entrance. overall happy with our stay

Hotel is situated right off the highway, a definite plus! Rooms are clean and spacious and do not look cluttered or dated. Bed was comfortable. Check-in was smooth and room available right away. Area is fairly quiet with only the highway noise and plenty of places deliver right to the hotel. If there is one thing to nitpick, it's the room locks. The key needs to be bent at an angle for the lock to work properly. Will definitely book again if need be.

The Best Western Durham provides outstanding value and the staff - without exception - is dedicated to making your stay an enjoyable experience. We've stayed here several times and plan to revisit in the future. The quality never wavers.

The front desk staff were amazing! She showed us to our room upon check in. Asked if we needed anything and as soon as I said wine glasses she immediately brought them to our room. We had take out food delivered to our room but we didn't get utensils so I called the front desk to see if they had any.Right away she brought some to our room. We even had extra towels on our bed decorated with a handful of candy. What special attention we were given here. It made our stay so much more enjoyable.

Well situated. Accommodating staff. We were there as part of a hockey tournament. They allowed us to use the breakfast room at night. Breakfast was more than expected. Only thing missing was a pool. Good experience.

We were looking for a hotel to stay in as our friends birthday party was in the area. Hotel was clean, staff was extremely friendly and the entire stay was positive. Continental breakfast was the best I have ever had at a hotel. I would highly recommend staying here.

Basketball team from Ottawa stayed Friday-Saturday night end of March 2017. Location is very good directly off 401 - GPS may not guide you as some roads are new. Close to shopping, restaurants, and services. Plenty of parking at hotel. Room: spacious, clean, comfortable, awkward light switch in cupboard as you enter, cooling system was not turned on - could only cool down room by opening window, white noise needed due to loudness of patrons up late on Friday night, suggest adding a sign on back of doors - please close me gently! Rooms do not have microwaves, only fridges. Must ask for a microwave if available. Staff kind enough to open up breakfast room for us to use the microwave for our dinner. Staff kind enough to offer us the conference room for our team dinner as long as we cleaned it up afterwards. Note that local restaurants do not take reservations for groups on Saturday night. Breakfast: plenty of options, well stocked, clean room. Daily newspaper available. Plenty of vending machines throughout hotel and ice machines worked well. The outdoor basketball court gave all the teams at the hotel something to do Saturday night as there is no pool. If there were better lighting outside, the yard would be more inviting for playing outside.

We stayed at this hotel just recently for a Saturday night. There were a number of sports teams staying as well but we had no issues with kids running up and down the hall etc. all night. The front desk personnel were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean, but could use better pillows. Breakfast is included in your stay and actually pretty good. The location is right off of the 401 which is convenient but you really need a car to go places or be willing to take a cab. The only negative I have is that we chose to have our bill sent by email instead of a hard copy under the door. It's 2 days afterwards and we have not received one. No big deal because this was a leisure stay but for business travelers looking to expense the stay I would get the hard copy.

Great value for the price. Any place with breakfast included is a great place for our volleyball teams. We always look for comfort, size and breakfast included when choosing a hotel for our busy travel team.

Very clean and incredibly convenient location practically next door to the GO/Via Train station with easy access to/from the 401 highway. Have not experience a better group of staff during our stay and the morning complimentary breakfast is the best we have ever experienced.

We stayed there because we had no other option. Usually we stay at the best western in Bowmanville. The room was not clean, dirty towel near the sink, garbage was not empty and we were missing towels for the shower. The bed were fine and the breakfast was ok. Staff are nice though and free parking and free wifi available. Its two minutes away from a smartcenter and starbuck.

We stayed here for 1 night. Room not ready when we arrived @ 3:30, but the front desk staff worked with housekeeping to get it ready right away, as we were heading to a wedding for 4:30. Had a room with kingsized bed. There room was quite large. The breakfast was convenient and had lots of variety. The bed was a little hard for my taste, but hard to please everyone. Also heard a fair amount of hallway noise...slamming doors, during the night.

I visit this hotel once a year to attend a gaming convention. In total plain terms they have never disappointed me. The breakfast is excellent for the value. I would never hesitate to recommend these wonderful people who actually engage with me as a client and have my interests at heart.

Pleasant stay at this Best Western Hotel...... good breakfast with a nice variety...although it was close to trains we did not hear any noise. Rooms were clean and well supplied.... would stay here again Only problem is that the entrance is on a hill and when someone parked in front (instead of in a parking space).... you cannot get past them........ not great.... we had to back up and go around...

Stayed at the Best Western Durham on the way to Ottawa. Was pleasantly surprised when I was recognized at check in by staff from a previous stay at another location where I stayed on business. Checking in was fast and efficient. Room modern and comfortable, great for a hectic travel day to have a nice spot to rest up.

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus in Oshawa. The front desk was very helpful. The rooms were incredibly clean. Breakfast was on time and delicious. Wifi worked well. Good T.V. channels. I will comeback to this hotel again when my business takes me here to Oshawa.

The hotel is close to highway, and backs on to a high use freight train line, the noise can makes it difficult to sleep. The rooms are adequate, and clean, but i felt they were overpriced. With that said the complementary continental breakfast was excellent, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Large rooms, very clean! Breakfast was included but unfortunately we did not get up in time after a late night out at a concert. Front desk staff was friendly enough, no above and beyond service but stay was nice. TIPS: Everything in Oshawa is far from one another, nothing is walking distance and based off the highway by the hotel it made things less accessible by foot as all of the restaurant's are on the other side, and as a bonus it is impossible to get a taxi...we waited for nearly 2 hours in a not so nice area. Oh and lastly, I did NOT sign up for a rewards membership and shortly after received one in the mail...

The staff was very friendly when we checked in and out. The room was clean and well maintained. The only problem we had was that the bed was very hard and as a result we did not sleep well. The room was quiet and we didn't hear much of the movement in the halls/other rooms, which is a bonus.

Stayed here without putting in my due diligence (as I tend to stay at BW's for business) and man, do I regret that! While i have to give the hotel credit for renovating their lobby and conference rooms, the room itself was straight from an 80's horror movie. Terrible musty smell; the sink that was in the front foyer; poor bedding; cramped breakfast quarters (looked to be seating for approx. 25 people so had to eat in our room). Hopefully the rooms are next on the renovation list because if not, they will never see my business again

Hotel was clean, staff was friendly. My only issue was our air did not work very well at all (it was a very hot day). We did ask the front desk and were told some units have really old ac units. Breakfast was good, everything you could have asked for. Overall our stay was great!

Excellent service, value of the price was good, clean and well kept rooms. locations is close to the 401. rooms are good, furniture needs some upgrade. All the staff said hi while passing by. will stay there again. lots of resturants within driving distance.

Good hotel in oshawa to stay close to highway 401 and not too far from the city. close to restaurants in the area also. great place for anyone wanting to spend a quiet weekend too. would recommend this place to other friends and their families as well.

This hotel met out needs of a plan to rest our heads while travelling. Bed was comfortable, in room internet excellent, price was very good. The cons - breakfast was just ok, walk from front desk to our room was lots of long hallways (good to know if you are elderly). Hotel is located n an odd location and can be difficult to find. (near highway but roads to it are a bit confusing)

This is the second time we have stayed at BWP Durham and there are several reasons we came back: it is close to the main arena for Lacrosse Provincials (& close enough to all the others), the breakfast is excellent, the room is very clean with a comfortable bed, and the staff are always friendly & helpful! The Average rating for value is because the rates are 30% higher than last year and we didn't even come on the long weekend this year...that being said, we'll still book again for next year!

Booked by our team for Provincial Ball Hockey Tournament. Rooms boast microwave and fridge. Fridge hidden in closet, had to request microwave be brought to room. Bathroom door did not close. Room smelled like a fish tank. Dated, not updated. Locks on main floor entryways not secure, window on first floor room not locked, security cameras not working and questionable activity on first floor of hotel. Had night staff escort myself and two children from the hotel at 3:00 am. We sought safe refuge at the Holiday Inn Express. Front desk was friendly at arrival, night auditor was helpful in assisting our departure but it's the cleaning staff who really know what's going on in this hotel! In my opinion this is not a family friendly hotel.

Great stay - fantastic that there is now an elevator. We have not been able to stay here the last few years as my mother-in-law is not able to handle stairs. The elevator changes all that - this hotel will be considered first the next weekend away we have with my mother-in-law. Thank you for the great breakfast and comfortable bed.

The staff at the Best Western are what made our stay here so great. As I walked in I was talking to my friend about how I wasn't feeling the greatest. The lady at the front desk took it upon herself to offer me medication of her own- not something you would find from many front desk hotel staff. Every housekeeper I passed made sure to say hello and always greeted me with a smile. The little things go a long way. The room was nice. Nothing fancy, but clean sheets and an operational TV is good enough for me. Breakfast was your average hotel breakfast, nothing to write home about. The only part of my stay that wasn't overly enjoyable was the fact that the card readers for both of our rooms took about 5 minutes of playing with to finally open. Could have been an unlucky incident, but considering it was both of our rooms that had the same problem, I feel as though it wasn't an anomaly. Overall, a nice option when staying in Oshawa and well located.

The staff make up for the hotel. breakfast was great. love the locations. just off the 401. Serveral restaurant close by. great location and waking distance to GO Train. will return to this hotel when visiting Oshawa.

The Best Western Plus Durham Hotel & Conference Centre, Oshawa, Ontario is an ideal place to stay in when attending business conferences. Wonderful service, friendly and efficient Management and staff, and high quality for very reasonable rates!! Would not want to stay anywhere else

Free parking, Nice room, we stayed in a room with a king bed, but it was a small king bed. Room was clean, Big enough, had everything we needed. AC and fridge a bit noisy. My advice is that they should have outlets by the lamps or in the lamps. It was hard to find one where to charge the phones. Breakfast was included but the muffins were not fresh. It's a nice hotel to get some rest but remember you have to drive to the nearest restaurant, and there's no pool.

The hotel looks a little run down from the outside, The front staff was friendly and efficient..the rooms were updated and clean.my bed was comfortable..everything worked. Breakfast was included, I only had toast but there was eggs and bacon..Lots of parking.

Easy access to get on and off the highway, going both east or west bound. Restaurants, shopping, entertainment, etc. within 5 minutes from the hotel. If you are spending multiple nights or a week the king business suites offer a lot of space.

My wife and I were attending a high school reunion. Perhaps demand from that and several sports events led to a challenge in finding a room -- ended up paying a bit more than I'd expected, but whatever... The room was nice, the linens were clean, and the bed comfortable and supportive, with a great choice of pillows. Most of the furnishings looked new-ish; the sofa sagged just a bit, tho, and the desk chair was broken (I suspect that if I'd reported it sooner, they'd have replaced it for me as the desk staff were most cheerful and helpful). Even though just beside the 401 (at Stevenson Road in Oshawa), we really didn't hear any traffic noise at all -- a pleasant surprise. The sink was outside the bathroom (not an issue in itself) and a bit smallish -- not a deal-breaker, though. Would stay there again.

Yes the staff is great, the room was ok but the noise from the regular freight trains running just behind the hotel was terrible! The windows shook too! I had in ear plugs and covered my head with a pillow but it was still disturbing. The last train was around midnight and the next one was at 6:47am. We were in room 239. The breakfast was ok but the room to eat in was very tiny for the large crowd. There didn't seem to be A/C either. All this to say that if you can stand the train noise it is an ok hotel.

When we arrived we were greeted by very friendly helpful staff, they made sure we had everything we needed. The room was very clean and very nice! The price was very good! We didn't have time for breakfast but it seemed like it would have been good also! Check out was fast and easy. I would definitely stay there again.

called the night before for a request due to my Nana's funeral they accomodated without any issues. when we checked in friendly, professional and highly courtious staff. the rooms are spacious and clean. the beds, well i had such a good sleep on them. i wasn't sure about the half pillows but for me it was the best sleep on them, perfect size. breakfast is your usual continental breakfast with make your own waffles (amazing) and even western omelettes. The host was such a delight. I would definately stay here again if i return to this area.

We received a free upgrade to one of the largest hotel rooms I've ever seen. The hotel is located for convenience right off the 401 so there are no views to be had, but it was relatively quiet. We did not partake in the breakfast ourselves but it was well attended and everyone seemed happy.

Wonderful service from the best front desk clerk we have ever been served by, helpful, patient, etc. It was the best hotel experience we have had in many years. Great location beside the GO Train and clean, renovated place to stay. We recommend it to anyone staying in Oshawa.

Good rooms and nice decor in the hallway. My only complaint would be the lack of electrical outlets at the desk and near the beds. I have at least my phone and tablet to recharge, where am I supposed to plug them??

My husband and I try to book hotels with complimentary breakfasts to save time. I prefer the hot food options and over the sugar laden pastries and muffins. We went down for breakfast at 9 am on a Sunday. There was nothing hot left and more importantly nowhere to sit. My husband grabbed a coffee which he ended up dumping as it was bitter from sitting too long. Disappointing as I am sure the availability of the breakfast figures into the room price

From the moment we arrived, we were treated very well - check-in was fast and our room was 3 times as big as we imagined. We were here for only one night but will consider using this Best Western again -

stayed one night because of heavy snow as we were at a concert in Toronto,and this was the closest hotel to the GO train station.The hotel was just what we needed on a snowy night in February .The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful rooms were ok with good wifi,breakfast was buffet style no complaints and again the lady waiting on was very pleasant no complaints at all ,and I would use this hotel again if I had another late night coming back from Toronto.

The bed was VERY clean no signs what so ever of bugs !! Bathroom was immaculate and lots of toilet paper and Kleenex , facecloths towels ! mini fridge in the room was spotless only thing missing was a spare blanket in the cupboard and an extra chair . Nice flat screen tv with a good selection of channels The staff are very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to assist you .

This hotel is my go-to choice. The staff is always friendly and professional. I stay here 3 to 4 times a year for business. My only concern is that the chair at the desk in rooms is always too high and not ergonomic for working on a laptop. I will continue to stay here as it is clean and they now finally have an elevator around the side ground floor entrance as it was always a terrible flight of cement steps up to the lobby to register.

We stayed in room with 2 Queen Beds, Non-Smoking for 1 night as we were in town for a show. Only got the 2 bed because we got a better deal on the 2 bed over the 1 bed. Hotel was conveniently located only about a 1 min off the 401. The room was nice & very clean upon arrival. It even came with a little a little complimentary bag of snack, including Water, a bag of chips, chocolate bar and a healthy snack bar, for those looking for a healthier snack. Hotel staff were very polite and knowledgeable about local businesses in the area, as we were looking for a pub / restaurant to have a couple drinks at. The manager was also polite & attentive, making sure to take the time to ask us both times he seen us how we are enjoying our stay and if there was anything we needed. All in all a great stay and good price. Nothing bad, only good things to say about this place. I would recommend this place to anyone / couple or family looking for a nice place to stay.

I highly recommend anyone who wants to feel like they are at home, when they are not, to stay here. The hotel has been renovated to look and feel fresh and new, it has a bright decor, and well maintained rooms. I stay there 3 out of 4 weeks a month and am always welcomed back with a smile by all the staff. The front desk staff are tremendous in accommodating any of my needs when there and make me feel like family when I walk through the doors. Courtney is always quick to greet me with a big smile and ask how my family is doing and quick to accommodate any needs I may have during my stay. In fact, Courtney went above and beyond when I had a medical emergency and ended up in hospital in middle of night for 3 weeks. She ensured all my belongings were safe and neatly packed up and stores for me, probably more care then I would have given them, and called me weekly to see how I was feeling in hospital. Upon my return she personally brought all my belongings to my room where I noticed the care she took in packing all my things. She ensured that I did not have to be charged for the room during my hospital stay by packing my things up, with my consent, which was greatly appreciated as most places would just charge for the room despite circumstances. This hotel does not take advantage of ones circumstance and treats business with a more personal touch. During Christmas holidays the staff left Xmas cookies in my room, a letter was written to me and placed under my door wishing me holiday greetings and it was personalized only for me, thank you Lorne for such a beautiful letter,, and all staff signed it. It was something that was a genuine and personal touch from the staff. The house keeping staff are unlike any I've ever encountered before. I came to this hotel because I was at another hotel in the area and the house keeping was horrible and so was the front desk staff, what a complete opposite these are! Dianna, she is absolutely excellent and goes above and beyond what anyone would expect or anticipate. I had flowers given to me, but did not have a vase to put them in so I just laid them on my table. Two days later I noticed my flowers were sitting in a vase filled with water on my table! Dianna had found a vase to put them in and did so without a word to me. When I asked front desk about it they didn't even know she had done that. It's her small attention to detail that makes her terrific. She does little things like that without expectation of even a thank you, she considers it part of her high standard of the job and she maintains that standard each day. Cindy is another house keeper who shows incredible care and attention to detail in her job. She also has shown great compassion too during the period I had medical issues, she left homemade soup in my room for me. The supervisor, reizel, of the house keeping staff also always greets me with a smile or a wave if she sees me down the hallway. She is always quick to ask me if there is anything I may need additionally, due to my medical conditions, and quick to accommodate if I do. She maintains a high standard of care to the rooms that the house keeping staff clean and she also jumps in to clean any rooms if staff need help. I have never seen her without a positive and pleasant expression and attitude. She always makes sure she is quiet and soft spoken, as she is always in the hallways and rooms, and that the entire house keeping staff is because of patrons could be resting. Something that is important. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Cleanliness, professionalism, attention to detail are just some of the attributes of this hotel. General attitude and cohesiveness of the staff is the other reason. It makes the overall experience exceptional.

Rooms were clean enough but hallways and breakfast room was a little dingy. Housekeeping staff was very rude, a lady named Riezel was not at all helpful and rude as well. Front desk was a great help and checking in and out was very easy. Recommend for a place to lay your head but no more than that.

Older p;lace but the location to the Go train is perfect. Could use some spring up. Free breakfast was almost empty of food, I did arrive at 0830 but that is no excuse. Was still able to get a drink and a bagel but was looking forward to the sausages and waffles which was empty

well worth the time to get on the south side of the 401 the staff are friendly and fun breakfast is great and all you need to start your day try the waffles read the paper and enjoy someone beside you and your day will be well worth the stay at this hotel

My stay is awesome and I have some fun chit chatting with their employees especially Brittany. She's does her job perfectly and it was really nice. I'm happy and satisfied. I wish I could go back in some other time if I got a chance.

Was very hard to turn left to hotel due to heavy traffic. 1 driveway in not room for 2 cars. We parked & walked with luggage to find the door broken. Walked to the next door with luggage. Thankfully another guest helped me through the doorway. Did not have a drive up room. Went to vending machine & that was broken too. Lots of stairs & a sore leg made it so we did without a snack. The wall had a black mark. Hole in the wall. Chipped counter. The tv was slanted. Tried to straighten & wedge something under it. No luck. So watched a slanted tv. Turned the fridge off due to noise. This is a PLUS. But not to me. They might cater to meeting rooms but not to guest rooms. Would never stay there again. Stayed at 3 other BW BW PLUS in our trip. By far this was the worst & have experienced.

This small roomed, older hotel needs an upgrade. It is also difficult to get to as the exit off the 401 is immediately to the east (L lane) to be able to access Bloor Street. Be prepared for paper cups and minimal amenities

Bring a set of earplugs the doors between guest will bang all night long. The manager will only speak once to the group and they will settle down for a few minutes then the noise level will be worst. keeping the doors open by secruity clip and listening to it bang from 9:30 p.m. till 2:30 a.m is very rude from both parties the guest and manager who allowes it. I will not be back.

I checked in on Tuesday evening and was told there was no upgrade rooms available so they gave me double points. I was ok with that. I asked for a wake up call for 06:00 for the three days I was staying with them. Both Wednesday and Thursday I did not receive a call, I told the front end staff about it and they were to work on it.On Friday morning someone knocked on my door and the phone finally worked as well for my wake up call. There was no office type chair at the desk for me to do my paperwork, only a dining chair (very uncomfortable) I mentioned it as well and they gave me a broken office chair for the next evening. I told the front end staff and when I returned for the last night they removed the broken office chair and gave me the dinning chair back. I also found it difficult to watch a little TV while doing my paperwork when the TV is mounted in a cabinet. The TV does pull out some but not very convenient. I have stayed in many different Bestwesterns and I was very disappointed in this one. Going to be very difficult for me to return to this one.

This hotel is very easy to get to from the highway. Very friendly and helpful with information of shopping in the area. Room is large and I appreciated the fridge and microwave in the room. Great internet service as i did a lot of work from my room.

We had a heating problem. Staff was very helpful. Older hotel with dated rooms upgraded. extremely small bathroom. Overall an average rating due to problem but would have rated very good if no problem.

Very tired room with a king bed for $215.00 Average room for a high price. the bathroom was small and had a regular tub and the water was warm... not hot... Kids running through the halls after 11 pm. No direct outside access from the room.

We had a Christmas party in the area and decided to stay at the Best Western. The service was excellent and the room was comfortable. I did think that the price for a 2 queen bed room was a bit steep.

It was a great experience. The workers were all great. The breakfast is awesome and the place is clean. Very comforting and much affordable. The room is perfect and well designed. The management is really good to please their guest. It was awesome overall.

To start Oshawa doesn't have a whole lot of options but this seemed like the lesser of the evils. The staff was nice when arriving. Room was somewhat clean and beds were comfortable. Unfortunately there was a wedding that night and it was a loud night with people running though the halls left me kinda irritable in the morning. Breakfast was good, no complaints there. Overall not a bad hotel.

Staff and service were great. The hotel itself needs a refresh. Nothing serious, just some room maintenance like a redo of the bathtub, the desk chair was effectively broken. Just some simple things need.

We were there with a group. Our room was fine but we heard several others disappointed with the cleanliness. The sheets were clean and fresh and our beds were comfortable. Looks like they updated the rooms a few years ago. Certainly the housekeeping could put a bit more effort into making beds, thorough cleaning between guests and restocking toiletries/cups, etc. Breakfast is included and was actually quite good (mix of hot & cold basics). The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location was convenient for us, right off the 40, within easy driving distance to shopping and restaurants. However, the train tracks run behind the hotel and there isn't much to see on foot -- rather industrial. You can hear the trains go by but I think they did a pretty decent job of soundproofing. Grassy area with a fenced basketball court and BBQ area is on the property. Overall decent value for the price.

We found the staff to be very helpful. The room was clean, everything worked in the room. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean, shower worked. We stayed for two nights, both nights being nice. Good place to rest your head for the night.

Very disappointing hotel. Staff not helpful or friendly. Room and hallways smelled awful, musty and smokey. Bathroom was not clean. Furniture was old and cheap. Booked well in advance by AAA with a credit card. Strange that they would not charge the room to that company's credit card when they used it to guarantee for late arrival! Lousy breakfast in cramped dining area. Did not feel good about the car being left overnight in their dark parking lot. Couldn't wait to get away from there.

I looked at some of the other reviews on this site, and so was a bit apprehensive about staying here on a trip back from Eastern Ontario, but really, for the price, how can one complain? I could not reserve online as the system would not accept my information, but the front desk was quick and efficient, no waiting time, and got a better rate because of CAA membership. The room was a decent size, and while the bathroom door would not close properly, was not a big deal. The AC was not overly loud, and while the rail tracks were near the back of the property, there wasn't that much train traffic to make a huge difference. It was not the best breakfast around, but it was free, and there was a half decent variety so nobody should go wanting.

The hotel was adequate but doe snot meet plus standards. It is old, room decor is cheap. The doors make unbelieveable amount of noise . However staff was very nice and helpful. It is an okay hotel for the price and the area .trains come thrugh several times in the night. If you dodn't have your own fan then yu will hear the trains. BEST WESTERn needs to adhere to its on standards are not give hotels PLUS status. There is no consistency between Plus hotles. Some are much nice decor and then lack free breakfast. Some have pools some do not. Best Western needs some real heart searching to keep up with Comfort Inn, Holday Inn Express,etc BEST WEstern with high prices in most cases is also stingy with free nights, etc.
