« Good to be back! »

Further to my stay (and review) in May 2016, I returned to Mombasa and the BW Creekside. PROPERTY - same comments as in May 2016 - Dining room still feels a little depressing - maybe a refurb and a change in the layout or a change in the storage facilities of the fruits and cakes etc.....(they are really OLD, and need updating - the one with fruits was open on several occassions and there were flies inside, on the fruit - not very appetising). FOOD - anything ordered by the poolside is supplied from the kitchens above, so the delay persisted on this trip...The pizzas were a hit but tea took ages to arrive at the poolside - Breakfast - good choice but presentation needs an overhaul. LOCATION - Excellent, although road to get to it was quite bumby with lots of potholes (not hotels fault!). Excellent views overlooking the creek - worth it just for that! STAFF - They were all excellent, without exception. Nobody had a "bad day" whilst I was there - what amazing customer service! No hassle with pre-arranged Airport pick-up, printing off the Boarding passes for when we departed, etc etc....all done with grace, dignity and a smile! MISC MATTERS - No beach - please note - so if you are expecting silver sands and a lovely beach, look elsewhere.....however, you could stay here and go to the beach as and when .......WIFI was excellent - a minor problem was soon sorted out by the IT chap by restarting the router. SECURITY - I was REALLY impressed with one of the security staff whom I had actually never seen before - When I was being taken to the airport, she mentioned to the driver if he knew what was going to happen to the car I had hired and left in the car park! WOW - As it happened, I had made arrangements for it to be collected and had left the keys in reception, but WOW - I had never been let out of the premises or allowed in by her, yet she knew which car I had been driving! AMAZING - and gave me a good feeling regarding the security of the place - I hope I will be back - until then......Kwaheri....

    « A "wow" feeling hôtel + honest & efficient staff »

Beautiful sea view from room balcony. Clean areas. Very secured. Polite and friendly staff. Reception staff always ready to assist. The hotel super driver, Mr. Imran was fabulous. While exceeding of expectations, he was also honest towards the hotel. Shall go back to this hôtel because of him but also the overall atmosphere of the hotel.

« The holy grail of sleep quality »

The mattress and pillowy clouds they have discovered the formula for best sleep quality. Slept in the twin with four poster beds and I am pleased with the linen and cleanliness. The balcony facing the creek adds such value. Staff at front desk were receptive and warm.

    « Good Hotel »

Hi All, This hotel is well situated and rooms are very big and nice , rooms have balconies and great view. For time at the hotel stayed for 6 days but had real trouble with internet, no connection , IT guys tried but that whole side of hotel had poor connection, but the rest it is clean, staff is just great, prices for extras are also very reasonable. Food needs to improve on their menu, but it is ok, as loads of great restaurants not too far. 2nd time around stayed 5 days and different side of hotel , great internet connection, not sure why I was not put in a room on that side first time. For the rest nothing changed much, great service and rooms again great view. For the money value this hotel is probably one of the best for a business trip, you close to port, and Downton.

« Excellent Value for Money »

Great Hotel very central to everything just a short walk or took took drive to major shops. Was very clean and safe and staff were very helpful. Rooms were spacious. Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to help us whenever we needed. Breakfast was good.

    « Great business hotel »

Since March 2016 I have spent over 6 weeks staying at this hotel. I keep returning because of its good location, friendly and helpful staff (including reception, food and beverage service, housekeeping and management). The rooms are large, clean and well-equipped. I'd like to send a special shout-out to some particularly great staff: Lilian Onyango, Mercy and Alfred... but again, all have been consistently fantastic. I also used the hotel for some meetings and the room set-up, service and refreshments were excellent and offered good value for my money.

« Nice location, middle of town, but completely away from traffic on road - good stay »

stayed 4 days as aprt of a delegation. Rate was ok. top notch - location, you overlook the creek. Top notch - pool, small but views good but not super - rooms. i would say "OK", no complaints. weak - dinner food and the breakfast in the morning, weak coffee, could do sooo good coffee if they use Kenya real beans! drop instant, please. Reception and people have a heart, made us feel welcome.

« Easy for the airport. Great staff and large rooms »

Ideally located at the Creekside, and easy for the airport, this hotel was very good. Very friendly staff who were always smiling and polite. The wifi in the rooms and the grounds was very strong and constant, so you dont have to keep logging in each time you get your phone out of your pocket!! The rooms are very comfortable and are large. The views from A Block are of the creek itself which is good, whereas the views from B Block, are of A Block..!!! The garden is nice, with a fish run through the centre of it, which is very relaxing. The hotel does cater mainly for business travellers, and it is good in that respect, in that it is very relaxing. With good food in the restaurant and beer at 250 Ksh per bottle (about 2 quid), it represents very good value. Smoking is not allowed in any of the Hotel buildings, which does include the rooms' balconies. Smoking is only allowed by the poolside bar, and at the tables just outside the restaurant. About a 30 minute transfer time in a taxi from the Airport (outside of rush hour), makes it perfect after your flight. Allow for around 60 minutes during rush hour.

    4
« Good value for money »

The rooms at the hotel are really spacious and light and the service is good. It is in a convenient spot if you need to access town but also want to go to the beach. Breakfast was varied, but not the highest quality and the food in general was not that good. I would recommend the indian dishes (fish massala for example). The cook must be indian, so they are very tasty.

« Ease of reach with road transport, good water views!! »

Nice, cosy, cool rooms with room enough not only for one. Accommodating restaurant with nice views. The meals were deliciously prepared. The staff had time to ask towards our comfort, relaxing and enjoying the meals and stay. The garden/swimming pool conveniently placed.

« The Best Creek View Hotel In the Town »

The best Creek View Hotel in the Town. Well Managed property. It gives a perfect view of the Creek and the activities in the creek. Have a gamut of options for the Breakfast. The food is equally good. Have spent couple of nights. The evenings were pleasant with the cool breeze coming up from the sea. The local transportation need not be a problem because the hotel have taxi service, further there is an option for Uber as well. The gym and the swiming pool are awesome.

« Not bad at all »

This hotel existed before under another name and was acquired by Best Western who have done a great job at improving the standard. Rooms/Bathrooms were clean with semi-modern furniture. The location also isn't far from main tourist designations in Mombasa. Staff were professional and curious at all times. Wish they had softer newer bath towels though.

    « Came back again »

Been here before, and as always the rooms are great..have a fantastic view of the ocean and Mombasa old town. The breakfast though was down. Very little variety. However, the staff were great and quite helpful. Would still go back!

    5
« The view of the creek, in the morning, in particular »

The room was great, and the staff very friendly and professional. Getting transportation (taxi) into the town centre was sometimes challenging (not insurmountable) due to the location of the hotel. My time at the establishment was an absolute pleasure, and I am already looking ahead to my next trip to Mombasa later in the year (during Q4) and I most certainly will hope to stay at this establishment. However, getting transportation (taxi) into the town centre from the hotel was sometimes challenging (not insurmountable) due to the location of the hotel.

« I liked the rooms with a sea view »

I stayed here one night half board when I was in Mombasa for business. Checked in at around 7pm and checked out the following day 7am. Rooms were great, spacious and with a beautiful sea view that i saw in the morning. Their dinner was however quite thin and lacked variety. Breakfast was much better. The service was also good.

    « BWP Mombassa »

A very good hotel. Staff was very helpful. The rooms of the hotel were nice and clean with a balcony. Little bit small to the liking. The outdoor restaurant area is excellent. The staff at the restaurant is extremely courteous and caring for their guests. The entry to the hotel is a bit confusing from the main road. It is in good location in between the business (city centre) area and the tourist area. Overall a good hotel.

    « Good »

2nd visit to BWP Mombasa , good business hotel, huge rooms , decent amenities , decent breakfast, the Internet was slow , they really need to do something about the Internet . I never tried the bar and the food so cannot comment . All in all I would recommend this hotel for business travelers . For about 100 us a night it's very worthwhile .

    4
    « Beautiful View & friendly environement »

Though I checked in a little bit late after arriving by a late night flight but I received a very warm welcome with beautiful smiles. All the staff from the main entrance to the reception and the guy who gave me a hand to carry my luggage to the room were all friendly. In the morning, I could see Mombasa Island and Nyali Creek from the room which were beautiful. The buffet breakfast too, it was good and worth every penny paid. This a good place to give a try.

    « Idd Family Dinner »

We held an Idd family dinner at Best Western in their conference room which was well organised by them the conference room was well lit had a/c's and the ambiance was excellent. Most of all the food was very delicious and was prepared to our taste. I strongly recommend to anyone wanting to host a function either a wedding reception or a party to consider Best Western and most of all the price is pocket friendly and the staff are always ready to help with a smiling face.

    « Confused Service »

Have been to this hotel for conference last year. Was actually an Equity Insurance Get together and training. was a great experience. Was surprised to see a lot of changes. Previously, I was under the impression that this hotel has international standards that was kept up to date....but this time round, i was surprised and realized that it has got the same Mombasa Fever of Bad and slow Service now. The receptionist kept me on hold for 25minutes...and all i wanted was the rates to book three colleagues for 7th June. Most of the hotel has ready tariff. and i was given one by the lady with a smiling face only to be told....just look at the amenities...they are correct but the rates are old ones. I had to wait for the manager who reported to work luckily to assist me with correct rates. While waiting for him, i went to the restaurant to ask for the menu, and it took another 7-8minutes to get it from the swimming pool bar. perhaps the restaurant is not operating off lunch hour. If to get the rates is a hassle....i did not want to beg for the other services to my guest. so had to move to all time - Voyager, though it is a bit far from our offices. By the way..the hotel was pretty clean at the entrance and the view adds it all. but the first impression from the staffs will definitely make a add-on to prospective clients, wanting to taste the services.

    « Aromah team visit »

Warm welcome, excellent service and clean facilities. My team greatly enjoyed their stay. It's great value for money. Staff are friendly and go out of their way to assist. Highly recommended for both business and personal visit. Need to consider some entertainment.

« Great view & absolute worth every penny! »

Location - Good; right on the banks of the creek Rooms - Very good with all modern amenities View from room - If creek view, it is excellent Staff - very cordial Food - Good Poolside and creek side ambience of the bar-cum-restaurant is gr8! Overall I would say an excellent place if you do not prefer one right on the beaches of Mombasa.

    « Great food,service and scenery! »

« WORSE MANAGEMENT AND WORSE FOOD. »

Best western was well recognise of good food and a welll trained staffs but this round to me it was worse. I will never go back again to that hotel reasone behind beeing .I placed my oreder with a waiter whom i cannt remember the name but it took one half and an hours to get ready and when i was trying to find out with the waiter he told me {WAIT WHEN IT IS READY I WILL BRING TO YOU} .When i wanted to leave the food was brought.First it was cold ,small portion, testless. Will never come back and will also advise my workmate and our company to get for us another hotel .we have been doing our booking in this hotel since last year but will never come back again this is not the same best western which we used to feel like you are home. You have to train your staff it is a big shame to your hotel .SHAME ON YOU .

« Good hotel with excellent customer service »

PROPERTY - looks amazing - period building (architecturally) which gives a sense of history - very well kept public areas (clean, with local furniture and really good art on the walls - both paintings and wooden carvings). Reception area very good but somehow the dining room did not appeal... FOOD - Whilst there was a variety of food for breakfast, it generally did not look appealing enough - some of the food, eg fruit, looked dry, (suggesting possibly cut up night before?). The local dish of Barazi and Mandazi was excellent, though! NB - It took ages for the hot drinks to come when ordered by the pool bar... LOCATION - whilst not easy to get to, once there, the creek facing rooms have a wonderful view out of the balcony - Very peaceful time there - The poolside bar was a haven of sorts - quiet and with a gentle sea breeze attempting to cool us on a warm, sunny day!! (One of the days was not so peaceful, but then they are a business and were holding a BBQ and pool party for families on a Sunday!) STAFF - They were all very helpful, always smiling and willing to go the extra mile to serve the guests - MISC - NB- no beach here! but close to both the island and the North coast (Nyali, Bamburi, etc) so travelling to either was not an issue for us. Wifi worked for us everywhere..... Will be back - Thank you to all staff from Njoram Njoroge, the Front Office Manager to the waitresses in the restaurant - You made my trip a memorable one!

« Value for money!! Good staff!! Good hotel!! »

I saw there are quite a few negative reviews in the past, but I must say my stay at Best Western Plus Creekside was not bad at all. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly all the time! The room was very big compared to places I have been before and the bathroom also!! I travelled to Mombasa on business and was there for 6 nights. The view from the room was great! The hotel does NOT have a beach! Why would people even assume that?? You wouldn't really want to swim in the water here anyway, because a garbage dump site is right next to the water further down. From here you can get to beautiful beaches up north and down south within 90mins (if you miss most of traffic). The hotel does have a lovely crystal-clear pool though... Wi-fi was not 100% all the time, but it was manageable. The breakfast options I think could be a little bit more open, but we had great breakfast every single day and had dinner at the hotel three times. I can recommend the pizza and pasta. Overall the stay here was great! Remember that Mombasa is not a cheap city to visit. The gap between cheap (and nasty) and luxurious (and very expensive) is quite wide. BW Creekside gives you a good value for money service with clean rooms, good service, friendly staff!! I will go back!

    « Terrible »

Great property but hopelessly ran. Attracts a huge compliment of casual visitors heavily impacting on guest experience. Food is horrible - raw tasteless fruit at breakfast, burnt oats and heavy presence of staff in the restaurant having meals at peak times Rooms kinda OK Big crowd for wedding party with extremely loud music going on into early a.m V v poor guest experience In my view will end up being mugithi joint Mos terrible. Avoid

    « An absolute pleasure »

Pure delight. Very big rooms, aircon and fans. Large bathroom. Wonderful staff. Lovely meals. And the view! The hotel overlooks the river leading into the sea. It has a pure calming effect. The reception staff made every effort to accommodate our wishes. Highly recommended.

    « Fairly rated »

This was my first time in Mombasa, certainly at Best Western Creekside. surely nothing much to wow you apart from the normal hotel structures and the location. Unfortunately again, it is not at the beach front. Apart from that, we can only thank the staff for all the efforts and for the special rates we enjoye during our stay. There are many options and cheaper in Mombasa.

« Good facilities, great service »

From check-in to check-out, the staff at Best Western Plus Creekside Hotel were incredibly attentive and kind. My room was large and spacious, and the bed comfortable. I loved the big balcony overlooking the pool and just beyond it, the creek. Housekeeping kept my room nice and clean for the duration of my two week stay, and staff went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed and more! I'd like to recognize in particular, Lilian, a server in the dining room, for her wonderful and friendly service. She always made sure I was happy and well taken care of. Thank you! I'm looking forward to returning in a few months.

« It was a stay for the Vyamshala Volleyball Team of 31 rooms for the East Africa Open 2016 tournament. »

The welcome for the late evening arrival by the hotel staff singing us in with the Hakuna Matata song set the them for an excellent stay for all players, their families and friends. The staff were cordial, friendly and eager to assist whenever needed. There was a challenge for warm water flowing in the rooms but in the hot Mombasa weather a cool shower is preferable anyway. When the team set out to play the final Mr Lucas "warned" us that there would be no breakfast if the team returned without the championship trophy and the next morning he was so happy to serve that breakfast to the Champions that it felt like he had won. Yes he had won a warm spot in all of the guests' hearts.

    « Easter Holidays »

Very nice hotel. The room was very nice and very comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast doesn't have that much of variety. Don't order room service because your food is never delivered on time and it comes out to be cold also. No beach and a small swimming pool. Reception people are slightly slow in giving you a response. Good internet.

« Losing its reputation of being a Corporate Hotel »

I had attended a couple of Conferences and small meetings in Best Western Last Year.. The service was just to the mark and nothing much to complain about. Last Friday, attended a Half Day conference. Was a disaster. it seems that the staffs were not aware of our group. after a rush and setup at the last minute....the hall wa finally ready 45minutes later to the starting point. The Wi-Fi in the room was terrible... and after a couple of complaints to the service staff and the reception, the IT person only approached to apologize saying...this is how it is...because of the meeting hall, we were put in. Surprisingly...We were dumped in a meeting room, converted from a bed room. The IT person told us, that it is actually a hotel room...and the Bed and Furniture has been removed to cater to us. The Tea/Coffee was brought on time, but it was cold. When asked, they said that we started the meeting late...which again was not our fault. the food seemed to be stale and the cookies soggy and removed from the fridge...not fresh at all. I have attended many meetings in the past in many hotels. surely Mombasa needs a good conference service as Best Western is deteriorating and staff are a bit unprofessional in their answers to guests. Please train the staffs, especially the Managers to be a good listener and problem solvers instead of giving excuses for non-deliveries.

« Worst Hotel in Mombasa »

I happened to go to this hotel with friends last week. This is almost the tenth time, i was visiting the hotel, with 4 stays and few meals in the past. It was a sheer disappointment this time. The quality of the service has gone good to worst. The bad thing is that i boasted of good food and good service to my four high profile colleagues, who visited first time with me. Firstly, it took almost 45minutes for a waiter to approach us at the pool bar, that too after complaining to the barman to assist us with menu. The waiter was not sure of the questions we asked on quantity and time it would take for the order. After placing the order, the food took 2HOURS AND 20MINUTES to arrive on the table. The complimentary bitings have stopped, which they used to provide during the waiting time. There were only three tables occupied in the whole Pool Bar, still the delay. The waiter seems to forget the order/least botherered to followup and we insisted to meet the manager. We were told that the Manager is available in office hours only and even could not assist us with the phone numbers. It was such an embarrassment, we never experienced before. We almost decided to leave the order after 1.5Hrs, but were told that the food is half ready and we have to pay even if we leave without eating. Surely....what type of service and captive bossism is this? The Barman told us that after the Top Manager changed in February...things have gone worse. The Staffs are demoralized and hence the service is gone worse. I came to the hotel next day to meet the G.M. but was told, he is busy in management meeting, and left after waiting for almost 35minutes without addressing the issue, but left my contact details at the reception to a lady called Joanne. No one bothered to call me till date of this review. The staffs are good but the service methods and standards seems to be changed or goes un-monitored or ignored. With this, i would tell the new Management to go back to their old business and leave the Hotel and Restaurant operations to professionals who are available in plenty in Mombasa. Please have a manager on duty in evenings who can keep P.R. on delayed orders. The Location and Ambience is very good but the service and clients complaints is a serious let down. No wonder, the place is always empty, now a days, when other town restaurants are busy.

    « Bad Experience »

I have stayed at the Best Western Creekside a few times over the years and while it has never been anything to write home about it has been a really good experience. This time however it was really clear that either the management of the hotel has really not been held up to standard. The rooms are still clean and tidy, spacious and a lovely view. However the service standard has severely dropped. The water in my room was cold and despite me telling reception about it I enjoyed two cold showers (the only saving grace is that this is manageable in the high humidity). The restaurant service was long with us being the only two customers. I went down to reception on checkout day and there was an agitated passenger at 6:45 who had arranged a hotel driver to leave at 6:30 and he wasnt there yet. I asked for my checkout to be done while I went to have breakfast that supposedly opened at 6:30 - there was no one in sight, no coffee brewed. I went back to reception and the guy was gone ( I assume to find the hotel driver); comes back and my checkout is still not done. At 6:50 he calls the staff to set up the breakfast - by which time I was late anyway and managed to eat quickly and leave. The wifi is exceptionally terrible - there are three different names, with crazy complicated passwords that are different for each, the worst signal imaginable and I was not able to do much work in the room in the evenings. As a business traveller this is usually my only time to catch up on the day. Really disappointed as this is my hotel of choice when in Mombasa

« Professional service, good facilities but mixed location »

If you go here on business, this hotel is very good. The food and service is fine. Most staff go out of their way to go the extra mile. Our Garden view room was lovely. Big bathroom, tasteful furniture and the view from the balcony superb. So overall this is a very good hotel with restaurants, pool, gym, business centre, secure parking and not too far from the town. The location is on the creekside which gives some very nice views. You cannot get down to the water from the hotel gardens. The hotel is a 10 or 15 minutes taxi ride from the city and the same distance from Nyali beach. Wifi was mostly good. I thought the hotel offered very good value for high class service. Regrettably, the pool is very small. With 3 of us in the pool it seemed crowded. So if you can cope with the location and small pool, then you find this hotel very good indeed.

    « WHAT A JOKE FOR A BUSINESS HOTEL »

Having started communicating with the hotel since August 2015 for an event scheduled for March 2016, communication was very poor. They just could not understand what a floor plan was, what conference room capacity was, etc., For 6 months, many emails were sent to them, asking for floor plans, and they kept on sending photographs of the room, then the size of the room, but never a floor plan showing entrance/exit, location of windows, etc. Asking them for a lunch menu that contains sandwiches was another hurdle. Initially they sent an al a carte menu, and when they did send a lunchbox menu for sandwiches, it contained "Beef onion Fruits" among cheese and tomato sandwiches. 2 weeks before our event, they cancelled on what our travel agent said was on the grounds that they did not want to deal with our too many requests. This was outright unprofessional and expensive for us. The general manager never came to the phone, and it was the sales guys who have no clue in hospitality who we had to deal with. An absolute disgrace to a global brand, and an absolute disgrace to the hospitality industry in Kenya.

« From bad to worse »

My experience with the Best Western Plus Creekside Hotel began when the confirmed hotel shuttle -that was booked 2 weeks before my arrival, didn't bother to arrive. The excuse from the hotel was the driver forgot. Next when getting to my room wifi password didn't work. I called reception and was given another one which did connect, but failed to connect to any sites. Again I called reception who advised their IT person has left for the day so unfortunately no internet tonight. This is unacceptable for a business hotel! As I couldn't send or receive emails I decided to relax and watch tv. Only problem is they have the world's worst satellite service called BAMBA and the only English Channel available was aljezeera. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for business stays. On the positive side the staff are really friendly and the room service dinner tasty. That said, I won't be back

A party of 3 adults and 2 children. After 3 flights from India to Mombasa we needed to stay 1 night in Best western plus prior to Safari trip to Tsavo. Good points - Nicely laid out Hotel , Nice pool. Bad Points One of the rooms was booked as a twin room but we were given a double so changed rooms. Unfortunately A/C wouldn't work in 2nd room so changed yet again to 3rd room but again despite assurances from helpful technical staff the A/C was working, it still didn't work, leading to a hot uncomfortable night in the room. ( The A/c unit was blowing air but not cold air) At checkin we informed staff of our early 6.30 am checkout for next day. The staff offered to arrange an early breakfast due to our early departure. They asked us what we would like for breakfast which was duly written down, the next morning nothing was available, which meant we had to run around asking reception staff and kitchen staff for breakfast. Not the best start to the long day ahead of us.

    « We had a great stay! »

The reception staff at the hotel was really nice and welcoming, the rooms were very neat. The view was also great! The room was clean and also, the breakfast in the morning was great. Basically, we had a great stay at Best Western Plus and we enjoyed it alot!

« Mixed feelings but OK »

We arrived on the Saturday afternoon for a 2 week stay. The hotel have lots of security staff and vehicles are searched before they are allowed to enter the hotel grounds. Checking was simple and we were asked to pay upfront for the 2 weeks. Work of caution, the exchange rates are very bad in the hotel. best is to pay with your credit card. The rooms are big and clean and the deb is ok. Huge bathroom with a great shower. Breakfast is the standard eggs and other Indian food. Bread is always old. They use beef bacon and some kind of sausage.....not recommended. They have a nice outside bar next to the swimming pool and they have some nice food as well. Prices are reasonably. On the weekend the pool is full of local children having fun. This could bother some guests as it really becomes very noisy. We had a gas bottle exploding about 20 meters from us in the dinning room. The poor waiter was burned very bad. My was under water 2 times and my door lock stopped working and I had to move to another room. Staff is very nice and will always try to assist you. I will be going back. But not for 2 weeks again. They advertised that they have access to DSTV with loads of channels. This is not true. When I asked about it I was told that they are fixing the decoder. @ weeks later it was still off. Will see next month if they are telling the truth

    « Good location »

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times with the latest being last week. Its well located with easy access to Mombasa island. Great views to the Nyali creek and good facilities. The management needs to work on staff morale which i find quite low especially considering the competition in the hospitality industry. The food is average. The service is slow. The rooms have very basic amenities despite the good ambiance. You get the feeling that the management is cutting costs. They have work to do if they want to compete with similar hotels in Mombasa. Good for business but i woouldnt recommend for a holiday.

    « It's a business hotel »

Stayed there for two nights in February, because we couldn't drive anymore and thought we know what to expect from a BW hotel. Well, customer relations are very friendly and accommodating (within their limits of course), but the reception staff quickly fix that issue of being pleasantly surprised. The food is inconsistent (we ordered the same dish twice and it was different) and service is slow but friendly. The pool area is quite nice, wit a lovely view of the creek, and surprisingly little noise from the busy street in the back. There is a construction site right next to the hotel, which will need to be mentally blocked if one is to enjoy the pool area. Overall it clean, decent, the beds are comfortable, but I would not go there for leisure again.

« Good location and choice »

Good location for access to Mombasa town as well as Nyali. Our hotel bathroom was leaking and never got fixed despite several calls to the lobby. But the room is big and overlooks the creek with an awesome view. They do serve free breakfast and the hot breakfast is pretty good, the cold not so much. There are mosquitoes in the area and that was a persistent problem in the dining area especially.

    « distinct atmosphere. »

After staying here for four days during xmas holidays with my friends,I realized that this is a hotel with a distinctive atmosphere, just waiting to be discovered across the region. Good sized rooms that were comfortable and had all necessary facilities one needs for non chaos holiday, good for business oriented person and an excellent facility for family. Access to nearby shopping malls is very convenient .Mombasa city centre is 5 minutes away and just 15minutes to the airport.Great for business trips.Surely we will recommend our friends and others.Good services

    « Worthy service »

Room, breakfast and dinner are pretty good. Check in was easy though it was festive time in December. Called the customer service to inform them that they add toiletries in the bathroom as I had a family and they delivered it promply. Great service. Very enjoyable!! My wife and I were very thankful for the upgrade... breakfasts were wonderful, loved every minute of our stay.We enjoyed the poolside relaxation, excellent rooms and caring staffs very friendly on phone.we wont miss to come again.Bravo

    « Quick acting staff »

This name speaks for itself, even though we did not have an advance booking, wejust walked in and with the busy moment of December,we got an excellent treatment far beyond our expectation. We had anticipated to miss a room after missing in two other places but thanks to the advice of a Mr Joram who asked as to be patient as a quick arrangement was being done and there we were.We learned that there was an expected checkout from a room since we did not want to go anywhere else after being attracted by the BEST WESTERN environment, we opted to wait even if it meant two hours but thanks to the fast acting housekeeping staffs who acted so fast to clear it.It took just like twenty minutes the room was ready.Moreso the rooms are spacious with everything you need for relaxation

    « BEST WESTERN PLUS +PLUS »

The new year eve was well arranged and I really felt home away from home. Three days after Christmas is when I checked in and I liked everything. From the food, entertainment, accommodation everything is controlled and not exaggerated as I have often seen in some other places. The transport arrangements were excellent. While here I went to visit a friend in another hotel in Shanzu area, the branded taxi was arranged at the reception and the driver had to wait patiently for me even after I stayed longer than I had expected at the Shanzu hotel upto the wee hours. Congratulations you are simply BEST WESTERN Plus +Plus

    « FRIENDLY environment »

Iam a business man who travels regularly in East Africa and the world. Last holidays I happened to be in Mombasa and I stayed in Best Western Plus,it was very nice the staff were very helpful although you could see they were very busy due to festive period. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Always willing to listen and assist. For business minded guys, the nearness to the city centre and airport is a big boast ,all ,we hope to arrange for a business workshop here within the year.Keep up

« Good Food and Swimming Pool »

Just happened to attend a Birthday Party of my Friend Jumana last month. It was a perfect place with Swimming Pool, Good Music and Excellent Food. The Chicken Biryani and Malai Sheekh Kebab on the Buffet was excellent. I am fond of Indian Food and have always fancied an Indian Restaurant. But the Indian dishes here excelled my expectations. Have been to this hotel twice after that and would reccomend that the best time to visit this place is in the Evenings, along the Ocean side. the breeze and dim lighting supplements a romantic diner.

    « A Good Business Trip!!! »

This Hotel has been very lucky for me in terms of Business Trips. This is my fourth trip in a year and lot of opportunities to explore within the city. The Location is perfect to call the clients for a Breakfast Meeting. The Internet Connectivity is good in the Restaurant. The Food is Good and nothing to complaint about the friendly staffs. You need to book a Taxi in Advance if need to move around, from the Reception. The Rooms are Clean and Spacious than the other Hotels of the same Categories, that i have stayed in the past. would recommend the business fraternity clientele to stay here.

    « A memorable family holiday »

This was the best holiday i have ever made in the last twelve years in East Africa. From the gate all through to rooms,it was great.Having travelled with my family, there was everything for eveerybody including my kids who enjoyed soo much the swimmings, children's movie cartoons.I & my wife just wanted to relax in that anywhere within the premise we could enjoy free & excellent wifi.At one time was able to do video conference from my room(unexpectedly).the restaurant service was actively superb i was allowed to prepare some omelettes for my family by chef.On the day of leaving,my car developed a problem just in the parking yard,i was referred to the GM (by a staff )who immediately contacted a hotel technician who was so friendly on advise and fixed problem faster than i expected. Thanks for the quick acting GM.I had no complain, the hotel is very good for those who want to relax privately but not secluded with family. It is very viable for any business meetings, group functions etc.It is a stone throw away from city centre and walking distance to excellent shopping centres like Nakumatt Nyali cinemax. No regrets.Keep it up Best Western Creekside team

    « Excellent Business holiday »

Wow!! excellent!excellent!excellent.I came all the way from Nairobi for some business dealings which we booked here with my colleague,Everything was great ,we even ended up turning the business meeting into holiday. One day we just decided to walk across Nyali bridge to town centre upto Fort Jesus. While there we called the hotel gm for transport back and within 10 minutes from nowhere the hotel taxi was ready at Fort Jesus we went back to the hotel, the place is cool,no hustles very friendly, peaceful and eager staffs. We enjoyed the food more so rooms are very spacious ,clean and nice! Our business plans dealings were enhanced by a very fast internet connection as we were able to link with our partners in Europe all through our stay.Thank you everyone for this amazing stay! I hope to come back soon probably during easter!

    « ... average with potential... »

This should be a very viable business traveller alternative to the obvious choices on the Nyali, Bamburi beaches. Sad to see that it isnt. A fine location, good access to your clientele, security and despite the central location serenity by the pool and the A-Building Creek-view rooms... So wat is going wrong? No passion for detail. State of disrepair. Shockingly sluggish restaurant... Average, and I am not nasty to say...

« Great location for business travellers »

Located on the creek with fantastic view of the ocean creek. Std 3 star rooms with all amneties required by business travellers. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city and yet only 10 mins to the city by taxi. Good value for money and ideal for short stays

the hotel is situated at nice place i can say. has a good transport to the place, staffs are welcoming and friendly especially when they are offering services. The facilities on this hotel are so nice that can make one to wish to spent his/her life out there e.g swimming pool.

    « Excellent Hotel »

Excellent Best Western chain hotel. This hotel should be a 5* Good location from the railway station and the city centre. Beaches are nearby and public transport is good. Rooms are spacious and well furnished. Large balcony with amazing views. Large bathrooms and good facilities. This property is well spread out in amazing grounds with a pool and well kept gardens. Good place to relax for a weekend or for business. Staff are polite and very helpful. Breakfast is well presented and the chefs cook a good selection of hot food to order. No complaints at all. Mini bar in rooms stocked and good value All negative comments on here about the hotel standards are in my opinion are false. This is a well maintained hotel, good value and good location. Concerns about size of rooms , broken irons, broken doors , rude staff or bad food are totally rubbish. I did ask for the iron to check!

    « Very unprofessional team »

We stayed in this hotel for one night to relax before heading to Diani. There seemed to be a problem with my payment that I did through Hotels.com, which is normal. The Front Desk Manager was very rude and unprofessional in the way he dealt with the issue. He gave us no intro to the hotel and services and was only telling me that he will have another bill to pay on check out. I asked him to call Hotels.com as I showed him the receipt and the clear payment but he responded that I should call and it wasn't his job!! Mr. Patel the manager was very professional and very friendly and explained the situation nicely and he was helpful with booking taxis for us. Another incident we found unprofessional was dealing with the woman at the reception. She was bubbling gum and flipping her eyes while talking to us and when we tried to book a taxi she tried to do it with her colleague with a private taxi( probably to make extra cash, which is fine). When we arrived to the reception to leave, the manager was there and informed us that we can only book through the hotel private driverand she denied booking for us. Very unprofessional again and stressful for a one day stay. Unacceptable for a Best Western.

    « Artistic Welcome »

We checked in in their Superior Suite on 24th Dec15. The welcoming cocktail with a touch of ocout and Passion juice was very smoothing on a Hot Afternoon drive. The welcome dancers made us feel awesome to forget ourfatique. Too sad, we were not allowed to clic photos with the local dancers. The food was Ok, but the Breakfast Buffet was too spreaded. Only One coo to make Eggs at their Live Station, and the crown was too much for this Chef to handle. The Restaurant was very busy for Breafast and Dinner only. No Beach access but the nearest one is 7kms away. We enjoyed some latest movies in their movie room, and never felt bored. The books in their library, left by other visitors were worth a grab, and they allowed takeaways. The Taxi Driver who took us on Diani Safari - William was excellent. he knew Mombasa and its people very well. The only setbac i could thin off was the busy noisy road weher the hotel is situated, but Garden View Suites are Sound Proof. The hotel is new and well known. we stayed in Nairobi and Kisumu too and the locals had something to talk of about this hotel in mombasa. For a peaceful business stay, this hotel isreccommended and being a first time, it was a five star category hotel that Mombasa Business hub was missing for a long time. The Front Office staff Milka was very informative and helpful.

« Location of the Hotel »

It is a best place to be.I stayed in the hotel for more than a month and i was very comfortable with all the staffs most the F&B Supervisor by the name Lukas he is very friendly. The place is located near the Mombasa city and it is also very secured ,their guards are very professional . Their WIFI is very strong where by most of my work i used to do it in the room .I also accessed Business center and i felt like i was working in my office. I would advise for any business trip visit this place .Congratulations all the best western staffs for you good co-operation am coming back on February .

« Good Music at Serene Atmosphere »

I happened to be a part of the alumni meet with my old colleagues. It was Mbuzi Choma Night and all the arrangements was best to our imagination. The Cocktail was arranged at the Poolside lawns. The DJ Music with the dance floor was in their Air Conditioned Banquet Hall and finally the Barbecue Buffet was organized at the Roof Top. The food was amazing and the particular herbed marination was very unique and tantalizing to the taste buds. It was an evening for the memory of lifetime. I have also decided to have my Birthday Bash here in June this year. The good thing about this place is the Service, where the staffs are attentive to your requirements. One thing to note is that if you want to play Music beyond 10pm, it has to be in a closed place, not in the Pool Gardens or Roof Top.

« Good Food and Friendly Staffs »

Felt more at home with the freshly made barbecue dinner every evenings. Staffs were very friendly and enthusiastic. Swimming Pool becomes a bit noisy in the afternoons with Kids but cannot hear anything from the rooms, once closed. Chef Swaleh and Restaurant Supervisor Lucas were very helpful. Will definitely comeback on the next holidays in the same place.

    « Heaven on Earth »

We stayed in the Hotel from 24th Dec to 28th Dec.last year and it was the best one in Mombasa. Our time flew off very fast as there were lots of activities and the hotel was very busy. I was with my Best Half and she was happy with good food and the services too. The staffs were very friendly and and helped us feel at home. The lady in the Reception called Zipporah was kind enough to direct us to some local excursions and she wen out of her way in arranging us for emergency medicines, late in the evening. Thanks to all the staffs and the Manager and we will definitely visit this hotel in our next trip too.

    « The pits! »

Here you will find surly, or downright rude staff. The food is horrible. At breakfast they will fob you off with instant coffee. Many of the rooms are connecting and you will not only hear the person next door snore and fart, you will feel like they're with you! This hotel really is the pits.

« Bestwestern brand should be ashamed of this hotel. »

My family (wife and 2 children ) and I booked this Mombasa hotel through Delta.com and boy! were we disappointed from day one. The hotel is an amazing location, but that is ruined by the poor and unprofessional skills of the of the hotel staff. For example, we requested extra billows and it took them 24 hours, 10 phone calls and walking to the reception to bring. One night we.returned to the hotel and we could not find our key card, the reception attendant said that she will charge us 300 Kenyan Shilling if she issues us with new one. I find that very strange. Rooms are smelly, bed linens are dirty and very old. Bathrooms have no air filters and are very smelly. The room air condition dont reach the bathrooms and that makes the bathroom an oven. The toilet seat was broken and constantly leaked to the floor. The bathrooms constantly smelled like a public toilet that has not been cleaned in many Even though hotel offers breakfast, one would be better of eating from somewhere else. The breakfast is dull and lacks variety. I have requested to speak with the manager on day 3 of our stay, but he was so rude that he kept working on reception computer while I was waiting for him for more than 20 minutes. This hotel ruined my 2016 new celebration. I have seen some hotels with poor quality in Mombasa, Bestwestern plus hotel is the worst. We will never even stay this place again.

« Beautiful Location and Hotel. »

Beautiful location with spacious rooms which have breath taking views. However, the staff and the food (Breakfast) is a serious letdown! No courtesy of staff at breakfast dining or checking out. Needs to maintain the best western plus standards.

    « Best Western....Not too sure »

Nice Hotel rooms and clean inside but the general overview was a little disappointing. A lot of friendly staff, very accommodating. Nice Gym. Great pool on a hot day with The Orchid Bar within an arms length! Great views over the river

    « Great Hospitality »

It was my first time in this hotel and initially I was given a basement room which did not have very good view of the creek and TV reception and WiFi were poor. So I requested to be moved to a different room and this was done the following day. They have very nice spacious and clean rooms. I also requested to meet the GM, Mr. Patel, a very friendly and calm guy. One of my colleagues did not have a good experience and when I informed the GM he quickly picked his phone after getting the details and tried to contact him. He later got him and they talked. It is a great hotel and wish they could improve the following: they have limited menu..need to improve on this. Also some of the items on the menu were out of stock and the waiters explained.

« Great rooms and Wonderful view of the Creek »

I stayed here for 3 nights on business travel to Mombasa. The location is perfect especially if you are going to be going into the town center for your business. The hotel rooms have a fantastic view of the Creek- No beach though :( . Cool air blows into the room freely, i hardly used the AC at night. The hotel needs to provide an average sized bottle of water- they provide a small 300ml bottle of water instead of the standard 500ml provided in the room- i didn't like this at all!!! My stay was good though, i enjoyed!

« DISSAPOINTED AND EMBARRASSED CLIENT »

I am here to air out my experience at the BEST WESTERN CREEKSIDE HOTEL in Mombasa. Last evening i had visited a staff at the hotel wanting to inquire about some of the services they offer. As i got to the gate excepting a Security check,i was surprised that i was just asked where i was heading to and let in. As i got to the reception,i was RUDELY and DISRESPECTFULLY called back to the gate by the GENERAL MANAGER MR.SHAILESH PATEL and the guards from Crest security limited and this time round to get a check up.I was shocked that the guards check visitors bags in darkness without flashlights. After some back and forth with DISTURBING questions from the Security guard,i was asked to leave the hotel after not getting the services i wanted. BEST WESTERN CREEKSIDE HOTEL is a good hotel but treating people who walk in and out of the facility with NO RESPECT,RUDELY and DISRESPECTFULLY is not allowed at all. I Left the hotel really frustrated having being treated into such a bad way. The tourism sector is at a crucial state and with such managements,we are chasing away the local and international visitors. I don't have to be a tourist to visit a hotel.NOTE THAT. The management at the hotel in few words is a FAILURE. Regards, SAMUEL IRUNGU

    « Nice place »

There is a beautiful view of the ocean from the rooms' balconies. Location is wonderful and the rooms are nicely done. Helpful staff that look after guests. Will recommend if you want a quiet place whether business or staying around for a vacation. Bar situated near the pool and the ocean and that's a plus for pure relaxation.

    « Ok »

Great location because it's right in the middle of town and Nyali, has a stunning view but so noisy! If its not the traffic at the bridge then its the guests at the pool (if you have a seafront room) if it's not the guests, it's the marina apartments construction going on right next door. Great for a business stop where you are getting to bed late and waking up early.
