    Everything was wonderful, bath water pool, hot tub very hot with great jets. Rooms were very comfortable and so were the beds and pillows. Staff was over the top helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. We are definitely going back there to stay!! Loved the atmosphere!

    BW+ accommodated my men's and women's college cross country team during an NCAA championship meet in the area. We could not have had a better experience. Check-in and check-out were graciously, efficiently and professionally handled. The staff was courteous, friendly and welcoming. The rooms were quite nice; breakfast items were plentiful, varied and perfect for pre-race. We were even given Grab & Go bags at check-out for post-race snacks. And, you were quite conveniently located for everything we needed to do. Thanks for taking a level of stress out of having a team on the road. Head Coach

    The staff is wonderful and very helpful. Room ok. They could've been cleaner. Pool was cold, but staff tried to figure that out. Continental breakfast was delicious. Wi-if did not work for us. I did like that the rooms were quiet.

    « Unsafe Conditions and over billing »

    I stayed at this hotel back in September. When we arrived the bathroom light was not working and the entrance door to the room from the exterior was not working. This is the reason we booked this hotel was for easy access. When they changed the light bulb they did not attach the light properly and it crashed and broke into pieces all over the bathroom floor. Needless to say with children in the room we had to depart early before checkout. Then over a month later they charge the room fee and add extra charges for a dog. We did not have a dog!!!! Called manager 3 times no response. He was busy with an inspection of the hotel.

    I needed to find a room last-minute; called Best Western, and booked one for a reasonable price. Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable. And the complimentary breakfast and coffee were exactly what I needed to continue my road trip.

    « Best Hotel in Michigan!! »

    I stayed here for 4 days in late October 2016. The hotel is made to look like a lodge. They have a fireplace in the lobby. They had beautiful stone and wood work outside, as it was inside, the hotel. I really like the wood carvings of the bears and animals that they had. They also had carvings of bears climbing the balconies at the hotel which I thought was a cute touch. The room was very large and spacious. We had a double bedroom. I had a microwave, a coffee maker, and a mini fridge. The bathroom is very nice and the water pressure was great. It's a very clean hotel. Breakfast was excellent. They had a large variety of items to choose from: eggs, waffles, cold and hot cereal, yogurt, juice, muffins, etc. The staff was excellent by far the nicest and most helpful staff I have ever encountered in my travels. Two staff members in particular, Elizabeth and Patrick, from the front desk were extremely nice and helpful. They were also very knowledgeable about the sites and attractions in the area. Elizabeth always made sure there was fresh coffee for me in the lobby after I mentioned that I was a coffee aficionado. Little things like remembering that make my stay so much better. Overall, I would definitely recommend anyone in the Holland, Michigan area to stay at Best Western Plus. I've stayed at many hotels, and this hotel is the most visually appealing, cleanest, and friendliest hotel I've ever stayed at, by far.

    « Nothing fancy but a great value »

    This inn fit the bill after a 3 hour flight to Chicago followed by a long drive around the tip of Lake Michigan to Holland. The beds were excellent and provided a good night's sleep after a long day. Close to downtown Holland with a large mall across the street. A very good value.

    Nice hotel, quite location,friendly desk help, close to highways and shopping. Comfortable bedding, clean rooms with refrigerator and microwave. Standard hotel breakfast was ample and hot. If given a choice to return to this hotel, we would stay here again.

    Rooms Rates are same as other Good Hotels next door but not the quality. AC was noisy all night, Free internet doesn't connect at all, definitely needs remodeling, Indoor Swimming pool was OK. Location is good though.

    « The bathrooms need a remodeling »

    The hotel staff was very friendly, but the bathroom needs to be completely remodeled. Dated and dirty was our bathtub/shower and the tile floor needed a good cleaning. Also, the couch in the room need a good cleaning, I did not put my suitcase on it with the number of stains on it. The room needed a new mattress and bedding as well.

    I would not stay at this hotel again. I was disappointed in the lack of care from the customer service/check in counter. The hot tub and pool were not working, but it was the one thing I was looking forward to. Staff were not too friendly. They weren't rude, just not friendly. The water pressure is too low. It was just not a good experience here for my family.

    They started off with no one at the desk for 5 minutes after our arrival, then they put us in a handicapped room without asking. The room was non smoking but smelled of Febreeze. Liked that each lamp had 2 electrical outlets--handy for devices. Internet was sub par--kept kicking me off. There were no blankets in the room. I wouldn't stay here again.

    Room was clean and comfortable and hotel staff was friendly and eager to help with any questions or needs. Only downfall to my stay was the need to use the fitness center and machines and TVs needed repaired. This is a busy older/updated motel and is comfortable and attractive but should keep things maintained for the business they do there.

    We booked two rooms for two nights at this location, while on business. The hotel has been recently renovated and we found the rooms to be very clean, nicely appointed and our stay was comfortable and uneventful. Great service from friendly, accommodating, and helpful staff. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

    Located on a very busy highway and hard to get to due to construction but will be good when construction completed. Helpful friendly staff. Needed directions and directions given by phone were clear and helpful. Very patient desk clerk. Facilities average but good Best Western quality. Rooms clean and secure.

    Lovely hotel with warm atmosphere, good service, clean and well appointed rooms. Had not stayed here before, but traveled to Holland several times. Would certainly return and the warm breakfast offered with your stay is good, well presented and the area pleasant just as the comfortable lobby seating area.

    Great Hotel , Customer service was fantastic and the breakfast the best I have ever eaten at a hotel 6 stars would stay there anytime. The atmosphere of the hotel was the greatest expessially seeing the little wooden bears all around the building

    The location is good depending on what you are doing in Holland. It is next to a mall so there are many restaurants nearby. The room rates are reasonable. It is pretty standard for a Best Western and it is well maintained and clean. I had a room on the back side so I was away from the parking lot and overlooked a green area. Good complimentary breakfast with both hot and cold items. Staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations and directions. Hotel is close to Dutch Village and just a few minutes from Windmill Island. I would recommend it.

    The room was very clean, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend this to a friend, and I would gladly stay at this hotel again! I didn't have a single complaint!

    « Staff needs better training and better organization skills »

    A lot of smaller (unrelated) issues made this stay an unpleasant one. Arrived at 3:05 pm and had reservations for two rooms. First thing I was told by front desk is "oh, those rooms are not ready". Then she proceeds to actually check the computer, and asks a co-worker to "go check if the rooms are ready..." and turns out the rooms are in fact ready. I was the only person at the front desk, yet it takes almost 15 minutes to check in. Requested a crib for our 1 year old toddler well in advance. Asked about this after checking in, and was told we'd send one right up. She asks another co-worker to get a crib in the room, who reluctantly agrees after making a grumpy face... right in front of me. One hour later, no crib, and I go down to the front desk to check, and was told "oh sorry, we don't have a crib available right now".... Huh? Luckily we had a King bed and there was enough room for the baby to sleep between us. On the positive side, the "Jr king suite" was large and clean (although bathroom seemed like something from a roadside motel), and breakfast was ok. Service wise, I would expect more, especially for the prices they are charging. Have stayed at plenty of Best Westerns across the country and this is actually the first time we've been disappointed.

    Stayed 2 nights. Breakfast was standard fare. Room was very nice, updated carpet, pillows, bed was comfy. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Pool was excellent and warm. Hot tub was not open, but didn't care. Everything nearby and even walkable. Beach close. My only compliant was the bathtub as others in reviews have noted. They tub was gross and felt like I was going to fall. Also, housekeeping didn't clean it during their service, there was sand left in it.

    When we first arrived our key wasn't working to our outside door (the room next door had a working outside door). We had to go in and use the inside door. Inconvenient, but when we got in our room it was clean and the beds were comfy. The carpet, linens, and decorations were all new and modern looking. The light in our bathroom wasn't working. They promptly sent someone down to replace the bulb. The next morning though, as we were going down to breakfast the light fell out of the ceiling and broke, the lightbulb was shattered across the bathroom floor. We told the front desk and they were going to send someone down to clean it up as soon as we had all our belongings out. The breakfast was great, there was a staff member constantly replacing, and filling up the food.

    I read a lot of the reviews and a lot where really negative and I am not sure why. It was clean and well kept . The pool was nice and they even had some hammocks on the back patio . A good deal for the money and breakfast had a lot to offer . I say stay and enjoy .

    « Very comfortable and clean »

    The hotel was clean, the staff was very courteous and helpful. The pool needed some cleaning but considering it was Labor Day weekend and we checked in on a Monday night, there probably wasn't time as it sounded like the check in clerk was the only one on duty at that time of night.

    « Nice clean hotel close to Holland attractions »

    This hotel felt and looked nice and had excellent service. The lobby, hallways, and room were all 100% clean. I felt like I was somewhere pricier. There was an issue with being assigned the wrong room, but this was the fault of Booking.com. The receptionist did all she could to rectify this, and I left the hotel happy. It was only about 10 minutes to drive into downtown from here, and right off the major US Route that gets you in and out of Holland. I would stay here again.

    « Always wanted to visit Holland »

    Had a good experience right off the bat with check-in. It was efficient and the receptionist was friendly and polite. The King-Jr. Suite was more than adequate and it was very clean and inviting. The breakfast buffet was the typical food that you would find at these hotels but it was tasty and more than enough to start our day with! I used the Fitness Center and it was clean and had the equipment I prefer to use, the treadmill. The only down side was that the elevator quit working on our last night there and was still not operational when we checked out the next morning. We were on the 3rd floor so it was a bit of an inconvenience. Upon checkout, Natalie was very sweet and helpful. We would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

    Touring Michigan .Only stayed 1 night The outside of the building was very welcoming with well manicured grounds & flowerbeds,Upon check-in the desk clerk was very helpful & we were checked in very quickly. The room was very clean & it had all the ammenities that we required( as my wife is very picky) Comfy beds & no street noise was evident as we were close to a major highway Breakfast was good with a nice variety for all ages,you didn't need to go hungry to start your day THANX

    Four days in a row the our room was cleaned upon request. Our friends room was cleaned each day at the same time of the day. Our was not. Other than that, everything was perfect. The breakfast was yummy, the coffee warm, and water refreshing.

    We have stayed here before , the rooms are clean with ample towels. The breakfast had a great selection, even fresh strawberries and blueberries. We appreciated that. Hallways were extremely warm, and looking a little tired . Overall it's ok to stay at, however , the prices were very steep. And definitely over priced for the area, and lodging.

    Very clean and pleasant staff. Stayed 5 nights and can't wait to come back! Pool was first clean and chemically adjusted pool and hot tub I've been in this summer. Close to Buffalo Wild Wings which my son likes, close walk to DQ ... All the kid friendly places. Highly recommend this Hotel!

    « Clean Hotel, staff need more training! »

    We were a group of friends staying at this hotel. The rooms were clean and bed comfy but the staff seems a little out of it. On check in asked about the sofa bed and the guy checking us in said sure there is one in your room. When we got to the room there was no extra pillows/towels/blankets for us. I asked the housekeeping lady in the hallway for a pillow, she said she didn't have any clean pillows for us to use. I went to reception to ask the guy that checked us in could we have some extra towels/blankets and his reply was "oh are you using the sofa bed?" I had had this conversation with him literally 10 minutes previous! He said I could pick up a pack later in the day! Overall clean hotel, good breakfast and not far from the beaches and saugatuck.

    « Terrible hotel! »

    It has been a long time since we have been in such a poor hotel and this place takes the cake! We arrived at 6:35 pm to find no one at the front desk. This is after a 475 mile drive and we have dinner reservations for 7:30. Finally person comes to the desk and says our room is not finished being cleaned. We had three rooms reserved and one of the three were ready. I ask if we can have another room so we can freshen up but told no they are assigned which later we were told this was not true. We were told the next morning we should have been given a room that was ready. Poor training! We take everything to the third floor to the one room that was available so my wife can get ready for dinner. Then after we get checked in we take it to floor two after they give us a room. After dinner we arrive for round 2 at 10:15 and this time a line at the desk and no one was available because he was addressing problems such as non working keys and remotes that didn't work. Ask for a wake up call at 6:15 am. Finally get checked in at 10:45. Guy says we have been trying to call you for 2 hours to say our room was ready! No one had a missed call so where was he calling? The room where we left our bags and there was no one in??? Next morning I wake up at 6:55 because there was no wake up call when requested. The guy wrote it down per my coworker but never entered for the call! We need to be on the road for 7:30 for a business meeting which we were late thanks to the poor service! Also we were not able to eat breakfast. Person at check out gave us a 30% discount but really that was not satisfactory but this issue was not her fault. She requested the GM call myself and coworker to resolve. The GM called my coworker and he accepted the call for both parties and offered us another stay which had to be used by years end. This doesn't work because we will not be working in the area for a year. This doesn't resolve the problem at this subpar hotel. Because my coworker booked with Hotel.com they gave him a 60.00 credit. Nice on their end but doesn't really resolve issues. How does a hotel not have rooms ready at 6:30 pm? Being sold out and short handed doesn't cut it with me. Call others in and where is the manager to get things completed? How is there only one desk person working during high season when you know your sold out? I will never stay in a Best Western again and this experience reminded me why we never stay at this hotel chain. It is apparent that this hotel is about saving money. It is not fair to the front desk employees that have to deal with a line of unhappy customers.

    Only issue we had was not the fault of the hotel - road construction and closure caused some difficulty getting there. Our stay was great! Pool was nice. We skipped the included breakfast as we had already stayed at a couple of other BW hotels on our road trip, and were tired of being served up the same choices every day. The food was good, just repetitive.

    old, and it needs upgrading. The price they charge does not justify the quality of the service and all what they offer. Breakfast is very poor. Rooms did not have shampoos and toilet paper was running out. The overall look of the lobby is so cheesy that I am not sure if they had hired a decorator or they have done it all by themselves, but definitely not a place I would come back again.

    Clean rooms, excellent staff support and the breakfast had biscuits and gravy: a morning staple. Good job guys, I'm talking to my travel guy today to use you more often. Also the decor was pretty unique and it was obvious that there was an inherent theme to the decor, thus not making it as "cookie cutter" as most of the hotels I've been in.

    Found this hotel last minute but there was an issue at check in. Staff was helpful in adjusting price. Upon entering room, there was an odd odor which I assumed was either cleaning products or some sort of carpet cleaner. It wasn't unpleasant, just odd. The light switch had a motion sensor and the light turned off during my daughters shower. The toilet ran all night but I didn't want the hassle of getting maintenance to fix it or change rooms so we just kept the door shut (I did mention this to the front desk at check out). The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast, breakfast attendant was very nice. Can't beat the location, lots of food and shopping very close. I would love to give a 5 out of 5 review but there were just some issues that should be fixed. All in all its a decent hotel and I would stay here again if in the area.

    « It might be West but it is not really Best »

    We decided on a last minute visit to Holland for a few days. Hotel room availability was pretty sparse. This hotel had rooms available. I took a look at this hotels website and it looked OK so I booked a room for two nights despite what I thought to be an excessive rate. The exterior of the hotel looks nice as does the lobby and hallways. The website states ?oversized guest rooms?, ours was not unless you consider a typical Super 8 room ?oversized?. When we got into the room it becomes clear they have done a lot of decorating but very little updating. The old AC/Heater unit was missing the door that covers the controls and the grill was broken out of the unit giving us a good look at the dust on the coils. During our three day, two night stay we ran the thermostat set at 66 degrees. The room was somewhat cool but it never got cold. The room was also very humid. Part of the reason might be the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work. There is a switch for a fan and a vent for a fan but there was not a working fan. From the looks of the bubbling paint on the bathroom walls I would say the fan has not worked for a while. I have no problem with low-flow shower heads but ours was a no-flow shower head. I have seen water flow out of watering cans with more pressure than the water coming out of our shower head. Another unique feature in the bathroom is the light switch, it is motion activated. When you have the shower curtain closed to take a shower the switch cannot detect any motion and turns the light off! This happened to all four of us both days. The beds were OK, the pillows were OK, the TV was fine except the batteries in our remote were dead and I had to ask the housekeeper for another one. Wi-Fi is a little faster than the old dial-up but not by much. As others have mentioned the breakfast selection was very sparse. Their website states ?deluxe hot breakfast?, I didn't think it was deluxe. I mentioned that to a hotel staff member and I was told they stocked everything that was ?required?. There was one obligatory waffle maker (most hotels I have stayed at have at least two). I filled a paper cup with waffle batter and poured it into the waffle iron. Then I looked for a trash receptacle for the paper cup. Most hotels that have a waste receptacle next to the waffle maker, here you have to walk about 25 feet one way or 25 feet the other way from the waffle maker to dispose of the cup. Every single person that makes a waffle has to walk half way across the room one way or the other to dispose of the paper cup. Similar issue with the milk dispenser, there are no cups (or a place for cups) next to the milk dispenser. If you want milk you have to walk over to where the juice dispenser is to get a cup and then walk back over to the milk dispenser. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly. Our room and the hotel overall was clean. The location was great for our visit. I would say this would be a good place for a one night stay.

    First off would I like to say I generally stay at Hampton Inn because of my rewards but they were booked up. I have stayed at Best Western in the past and it was always mediocre. I would like to say I was very impressed with this hotel. The hotel was very comfortable and inviting, the staff was exceptional and the breakfast was great. They were very busy and still were very much on top of things. The pool was a little colder than usual and she heard me say that to my family and she instantly jumped on it ( the heater was just repaired). The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean. The only complaint is the shower head pressure, was not very good. I would definitely stay here again. Price was average compared to the others in the area.

    We got in late so I really can't say much. Booked through hotwire and got a two bed room. We didnt get in until 11 or so and checked out at 8. Beds were decent. Breakfast was your standard hotel hot breakfast.

    The hotel staff was helpful and the bed was comfortable. The room seemed clean. It is a in good location near downtown Holland. The price was fair too. We only stayed one night but the room was quiet at night so that was a positive.

    « Nice place to stay, convenient location »

    I stayed here for a wedding because it was cheaper than the hotel where the wedding room block was. I was pleased about the size of the room - it had a fridge and couch in it. The room was clean. The staff was nice. It did take a little extra time to sign in because the very nice lady that was working at the desk was by herself and the phone was ringing nonstop. I loved the wooden bears outside and in the lobby. I would recommend this hotel, but it is pricey in the summer!

    Not a bad stay. Glad they had elevator which made getting to 2nd floor with luggage much easier. Housekeeping was OK not great. I actually saw a couple of ants in my room. Would be nice to have TV channel guide. You just had to scan channels to figure out what they were. Also would have been nice to have a sleep timer on tv

    « Decent pet-friendly option in Holland »

    Visited on a recent weekend for a softball tournament and my stay was okay overall. I was specifically seeking a hotel that allowed pets as I wanted to bring my new kitten. There was a $20/night extra fee for pets. Check in and out was easy; staff were friendly. Hotel is located off the main drag but close to lots of restaurants and shopping choices. Room was good size and had both exterior and interior entry doors which was convenient. I was able to park directly outside the door. Towels and toiletries were very nice. Free breakfast appeared fine; I did not partake. A few wrinkles: Carpets were damp when we arrived - perhaps they had been recently shampooed due to this being a pet-friendly room. Desk chair had a broken wheel which made it hard to move. Walls seemed not to be very well sound-proofed. Could hear neighbors conversations. All in all I could accept the drawbacks and would probably stay again if I planned to bring my kitten on the road again.

    « Made Holland the best of Michigan!! »

    24 hour pool/hot tub access, wow!! Loved it! They know how to take care of you! Grab and go snack bags available on request (not instead of a meal), just ask and get one. Love it! Clean rooms, nice décor inside and out. Open breakfast area. Apples and snacks always available. Coffee and other drinks 24/7. When I ran them out of coffee 2 times, they never hesitated to get more. They never complained either. One man stated "we'll make more, that's what it's here for". I felt like a "guest", not an inconvenience. Mints in the business center. I will return with pleasure. Close to everything!!!

    this is new construction, rooms are large and well laid out and clean. We had a king suite with pull out sofa. breakfast included make your own waffles, eggs, meat and other carb choices. Coffee and water and popcorn in the lobby at all times. pool and good hot tub open 24 hours (!). Standard mid-range hotel - very polite and friendly staff throughout all areas who went out of their way to be friendly and helpful.

    My friend and I drove from Birmingham, Al to Holland,Mi for a wedding. We were extremely tired after the 13hr drive up. When we arrived at the hotel, Jessica was working the front desk. She welcomed us with a big smile and was so friendly. We had booked a double, but when we checked in they no longer had any doubles so Jessica offered us a suite. It was so nice, we were completely exhausted and to have this wonderful room to relax in was such a blessing.. Jessica's attitude, friendly personality, and calming personality made our check in a breeze. The hotel was very clean and convenient. The bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was very good. I will definitely stay again if ever in that area.

    Do you want to enjoy Holland? Stay here. Pat at the front desk was amazing. He knew all the tourist attractions and local eateries. We visited during major construction and with his guidance we avoided most delays. The staff there goes above and beyond. Rooms very well taken care of. Breakfast was awesome and almost to much. The pool is an oasis and opened 24hrs. The bears that decorate the outside are homemade and well done. My whole family enjoyed our stay here. One of the most beautiful cities in the USA. And this hotel lets you enjoy it all.

    I wish I could write a great review but I can't. I stayed three nights, first night there were no wash cloths and no shampoo. It was late so I just made do. Night number 2, lots of little bugs in the bathroom. Went to front desk before leaving for the day, lady with blonde hair stated they "might" be able to do something about it this day. She was very unfriendly and obviously needs training in customer service. Returned to room later in the day, bugs were still on the bathroom floor, still no shampoo but they did leave wash cloths. I went to the desk and spoke to a sweet young lady and she stated that the manager was not available but that she would let HR know and I could speak to her. I waited in the lobby, sweet girl comes back and states that the HR person was cleaning rooms and that was a greater priority. I hope that the HR person didn't mean for her to say her exact words but....it might have been better just to say that she was unavailable right now and she would have her get back with me as soon as possible.

    We came to Holland, Michigan for the first time ever, to have a short birthday/getaway. The hotel was clean, our room was roomy and clean (a little too over scented with an air freshener odor), and our air conditioner was quiet, but high functioning. The pool and hot tub were also clean and well maintained. Breakfast bar was pleasant, clean and tasty. Our PROBLEM was that we booked this hotel through tripadvisor. a month before, at a rate of less than $200 night, but upon check in...when I said Id like to pay cash up front and not charge the credit card holding the room.... the front desk informed me the rate was $269.99 plus state and city tax totaling over $300 a night. When I almost choked, he said that was their weekend rate and all the other hotels in area were also booked up and around that rate. I didnt walk out of lobby to call around and verify that because I felt worried we'd end up with no room at all plus was tired and ready to relax, so I paid the ridiculous rate. The next morning upon checkout, I questioned this again,and asked what the rate was the weekend before and also the next weekend to come --- it turned out to be WAY below the $270 we were charged -- and Best Western claimed that because we booked through trip advisor they couldnt change anything or help us. Bye Bye Best Western and So-long TripAdvisor.

    We booked this hotel last minute for four nights over the July 4th weekend. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it. We stayed in a suite, which was very large with a full separate living room and a kitchenette. They had a nice breakfast every morning and had coffee, lemon water and popcorn in the lobby. The pool was nice and the small enclosed patio behind the pool area made for a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the sun for a short break. The location was convenient and the staff were friendly. While it is still a 3 star hotel, it was a nice 3 star hotel.

    The BW Plus is difficult to find due to construction on Hwy 31. Once you figure out the problems from the gps and learn not to try to make any left turns, it is not too bad. Breakfast is adequate. We chose a local restaurant instead and would recommend the same if you have the time. Good neighborhood, great room, zooming wifi.

    We booked this stay as family vacation before ending our maternity leave and we wanted to splurge so we booked one of the higher end suites. I called the front desk before booking to confirm all the amenities we wanted were included in the room, specifically a jetted tub and sofa sleeper. Once we got there the room in-fact did not have a jetted tub so we asked to switch rooms. Once they got us into a new smaller room, I unpacked and pulled out the sofa bed for my kids only to find grease stains on the sheets and mattress. I of course called again and asked to switch rooms. Once she personally inspected the room she gave us the key and sent us on our way. After unpacking we noticed the couch cushions had stains on them but at this point we decided we wouldn't be using the couch cushions so we could let that slide. Once getting into the bathroom, the tub had mold around it and a big sticky residue on the bottom where it looked like a mat had been glued down at some point. Also we found bugs in the tub twice They were not bed bugs but I have no idea what kind they were. During the second day of our stay, I asked the front desk about a price difference in the room we booked ($223/night) and the one we ended up in. She told me the one we ended up in was $130/night but since I booked it partially with reward points I couldn't get the price change unless the company handling the reward points called them directly to negotiate. I spent 45 minutes on the phone since no one at the rewards company had never heard of this happening. Long story short whoever working the front desk told the reward company that the rooms were the same price so no price change can be given. Just a few other points to make: 3 days straight I had to ask for pool towels (one time asking 3 people before heading to the linens room myself). The lady working the breakfast was fantastic, very polite and courteous. The janitor fella was also fantastic. I wish I would have gotten their names. Anyone I dealt with at the front desk made me seem like a burden even when asking where i could find good local places to eat. Also, it seemed very unsafe when i noticed the fire sprinklers in the pool had tape around them. If you are reading this Best Western, that seems like a major fire hazard that may want to be fixed ASAP. The front desk didn't seem to care since I informed them of it on the first day we stayed there and it was still there the day we left. I hope this review helps!

    We were on a craftbeer tour of Michigan breweries. After hitting our last stops at New Holland Brewing and Our Brewing Company, we called last minute and got 2 rooms for a decent rate. The room was clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast was ok, but not what I normally eat. Natalie at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. Another guest came down to complain about everything, basically looking for a free night's stay. I felt bad for Natalie as my motto is if things are wrong you ask kindly and most likely you will get the problem solved. We would stay at the BWPlus again on our next visit back.

    I've reviewed this hotel before, but our most recent visit requires that I amend my earlier review. We've never been thrilled staying here, but we weren't willing to spend any more to stay elsewhere. However, on this last visit, we (and many other guests) had no hot water. Our room didn't get cleaned the first day, even though we vacated the room by noon. Neither TV in the fitness center worked. And the occupants in the room above us must have been traveling with elephants that didn't stop running, from before we got up until after we went to bed. When we determined that they were not checking out, we asked to be moved to another room. The hotel graciously upgraded us to a Jacuzzi suite on the top floor. That resolved the noise problem, but we still had no hot water. At check out, we were given paperwork showing a refund of one night as compensation for the hot water issues. However, one month later, the refund has not hit our credit card, and our phone calls are not returned. This was the final straw for us. We will not stay here again. We will be back in town next month and have made our reservations elsewhere. The savings at the Best Western simply are not worth the unacceptable conditions and the lack of customer service.

    « Our First Time Staying Here -- The First of Many »

    This is very nice place to stay, in a very nice city by the water. This Best Western is definitely deserving of the "plus" with an interesting western motif lobby and rooms that are spacious, clean and quiet. All of the staff deserve mention, from Drew and Christopher on the desk who greeted us as we came and went to maintenance folks like Flamur who smile was infectious. We had an upper room facing west and enjoyed a wonderful sunset which had to have been arranged by the Holland Chamber of Commerce. The hotel is convenient to both highway and downtown, and there are many restaurants and attractions to occupy one's time while staying here. In addition, parking is no problem. The hotel does have a pool and the basic fitness and business support. Finally, our room had a large soaking tub which is a wonderful feature if you've been on the road for any amount of time. Bottom line: We will return.

    Reason for Travel: We were traveling as a family (myself, husband and 4.5 year old son). Road trip sort of thing to visit friends and family. Room Type: I reserved a suite with a King bed and couch pull-out. The room was clean, ready for us upon check-in, and spacious enough for the three of our butts. My son and I slept on the King bed (Rule 101 of traveling with a kid: if the child sleeps well, we sleep well), and we were very comfortable. My child actually slept in the next morning until 9 AM (not normal, so worthy of mentioning). My husband, not so much. He said the pull out wasn't all that comfortable and he got in the shower the next morning around 8 AM and the water never got warm. When I got in the shower at 10 AM, however, the water was nice and hot and I had to actually turn the water to a cooler setting. Goes to show that two guest in the same room can have a vastly different stay experience. Note: The "suite" wasn't actually a suite (i.e., meaning a separate room with walls and a door). The reality of "suite" for Best Western purposes means that the bed area was separated by two half walls on either side of the room. Amenities: The inside pool was fantastic, a bit small if you wanted to swim laps, but nice for a small get-together with some friends. They have an outside BBQ area with picnic tables and a couple hammocks. The breakfast the next morning was great and was very much appreciated by us. Staff: The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Any Issues? Only issue was the water being cold for my husband's shower. The pull out bed was not so comfy, but I've not yet met a comfy pull-out bed, so there's that. My stay & my child's stay was great. In fact, my son declared he liked hotel living. My husband's stay was OK. Overall: I would stay here again, but for my needs would maybe seek out a "suite" with 2 queen beds instead.

    At first glance the hotel looked nice. At the front desk, Patrick and Rhonda (the night auditor) were more than helpful! I had a minor issue with the television that Patrick fixed immediately and then Rhonda (I hope that is her name) was absolutely delightful when I had an issue with the computer in the business center! The reason I rate this as average is because, although the service I received was great, it wasn't impeccable. The room wasn't necessarily immaculate. I work in a Best Western, so I know things happen and people have off days. So I totally understand when little things are missed. Like hair on towels and wake up calls made for the wrong rooms. My biggest advice when going to this hotel is just making sure that they go 100% of the extra mile they are supposed to, not just 90%.

    room looked nice , roomy but air was not good needs fixed . not first time here. and we had the same problem with air when we stayed before . its like they set it so you cant raise it to high. internet was very bad. had to take a cold shower. at this point we didn't even try their food. we have stayed here before and the room was very dirty . but they moved us to a new room. but now I think this is not a good place to stay to many problems. the staff did not offer to make things right . so we will be going else where from now on.

    Once you've stayed there, no other hotel will compare. Clean, very friendly and personable staff, awesome full hot complimentary breakfast every day, clean and nice indoor pool, beautifully decorated and every amenity provided. We will only stay at this hotel whenever we are in West Michigan. Great location and outside decor has hand carved wood bears climbing up the hotel and around property. Just excellent experience.

    The staff was super friendly . They were willing to help with any questions. Location was good, with several restaurants a short drive or longer walk away. Close to downtown shopping, and restaurants. The only drawback for us was that the hotel had a problem with their hot water, for both nights had to shower in cold water. Make sure that you stop at Windmill island to see an original windmill brought over from Holland, still working, still producing grain.

    Nice breakfast - eggs, bacon and biscuts and gravy were a plus to an already generous continental setup. Geared to families. Does tend to be a little noisy because of this. Room was a nice size, although the air conditioner blew directly on you as you sleep, which I did not like. The staff was very caring.

    Hotel is located a bit outside of the downtown area with a number of other chain hotels. It is across from shopping plazas with a variety places to eat. Staff were friendly, the room and bed were comfortable, and the breakfast included a good variety of items, although nothing particularly noteworthy. The one clear minus was the shower, which provided a burst of hot water and then cooled quickly.

    I will be honest I was devastated driving into the hotel. This was not what I expected BUT I was pleasantly surprised by this amazing hotel. It turned my entire trip around. The hotel was amazing. The room was clean and large and the bed was comfortable. The pool and spa were amazing and open 24 hrs! the breakfast in the morning was more than expected. The staff was friendly and even helped us find some places to view the tulips. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

    Shower didn't have hot water and shower was a drizzle. Found a sock under bed that wasn't mine... Floor was dirty.. Microwave was unplugged.. One thing after another .Rated raised for Tulip festival... Would not come back to this hotel. Service was not great. Pool nice but cold and no towels even after we asked for some.. Hoping that this hotel was as nice as it looked on the outside.

    We were there for Holland, MI Tulip Festival. It was close to downtown, super close to Dutch Village and shopping. The facility was very clean and the staff very helpful. Also, the pool was super clean and the hot tub was working great! We stayed in a King Suite which had a refrigerator, microwave, and coffeepot.

    My husband and I decided to take a mini-trip over to the western side of our state. We found the Best Western Inn & Suites at a very reasonable price. The outside is adorable with little bear cubs climbing the outdoor posts, the lobby was very nicely decorated and had coffee and enhanced water with fruit, cucumbers and ice available all day. Our room was very nicely decorated with a mini frig and microwave. Having never been to Holland we were very happy to find any shopping needs closely available. We visited two beach sites on Lake Michigan, not really very warm in April, but still fun to see. All in all very pleased with the hotel and reception when we arrived!!

    This probably would be a good place to stay, but the night we stayed there were 3 High School swim teams and 2 hockey teams there. the swim teams were apparently not well supervised and run through the halls yelling , slamming doors, there was a fight, the breakfast was a mess with the food all over, tables left a mess and it was obvious that the staff could not manage all the issues

    I have stayed at a couple of BW's before. It's taken me a week to decide how to write a review on this one. Each day presented itself with a different issue. So I would have to say this place was inconsistent. The housekeeping dept it probably the biggest inconsistent. Towels taken and not replaced. Areas that needed to be clean but wasn't. Coffee maker not cleaned nor stocked! The wifi was very poor. And having the need of it for work made it very difficult to get anything done. I did like is the location. Restaurants near by. Conscience stores down the road. Easy access to get to. And finally the front desk staff. Very friendly and helpful. I witnessed several times when they went above and beyond. I gave the rating of three because it still is a good place. Just needs some adjustments here and there. It has the potential of being better.

    My husband and I stayed here for our Valentine's Day getaway, had a wonderful, relaxing evening planned alone with no interruptions. About an hour after check in we were in our room, and was almost interrupted by another guest trying to enter our room (double booked apparently). About 25 minutes later our phone rang from the front desk wanting to confirm our last name. We hang up, go back to what we were doing when the phone rang again, confirming our name again and we informed them we had someone trying to enter our room. They apologized and brought us new keys. Major inconvenience considering we were trying to enjoy eachother. Pool was warm. Hot tub out of service. Door that enters from outside has big gap that allows a lot of cold air to enter room (11° outside). Bed is comfortable. Jetted tub made up for the hot tub being out of service. Over all, for the price we paid for this room, next time we'll probably spend a little more and stay at the Hampton Inn. Staff is very nice.

    went on 1/30/2016. had room 312 jr king suite. Got a excellent price of $73 thru price*****. (won't be low durning tulip time). The room was spacious, LG flat screen w/swivel base (sd channels though). Pull out sleep sofa. What was odd, there was no sink in the bathroom. The only one is by the door. Crazy design, besides that, it was all good. New Mall being built next door, plenty of places 2 eat, some within walking distance.

    We stayed 2 nights in January. It began snowing on arrival and did not stop the whole weekend. The room was comfortable and staff was very helpful in finding things to do nearby. Breakfast was very good, although they kept running out of items and took awhile to re-fill. Our family enjoyed our stay here and the price was reasonable.

    Great looking hotel with nice pool/ hot tub area but the staff made our visit worthwhile! From the time we checked in they were amazing - very friendly but not pushy, helpful and very proactive on guest services. Whenever we were in the pool area, they would come in several times with fresh towels, etc. They were constantly making sure there was fresh coffee and breakfast items. We will definitely stay here again !!

    We stayed here a while ago and we emailed them and STILL havent gotten a reply back. So, we called and got a reservation for a Jacuzzi suite. We got told it would be $100 something... We got there and it was OVER $250!!!! Even in the room on the door it said the rate was $150!! This place will lie to you just to get your money and to get you in the door! The lady at the front desk was very rude about it. The only good thing about it is we bought a romance package.

    « Super Nice AND Pet Friendly!! »

    We arrived in holland after a 9 hour drive and had reservations at another hotel. When we got there we were informed they did not take pets even though they claimed to online. We were referred to this Best Western & I was a little disappointed because I thought it would be a downgrade from the planned hotel. I was wrong. This is a lovely hotel! It has the feel of a ski lodge and the rooms are huge. We had a king sized room with a whirlpool tub. The bed was super comfortable and the rooms have an indoor and an outdoor entrance which is very convenient with a hyper dog! Breakfast was a decent spread. We may have to come back to Michigan a couple more times in 2016 & will diffidently plan to stay here again.

    This was our third stay this year. We were so impressed with our first visit that we do not consider any other Hotel when we come to Holland. The staff are so accommodating and make you feel so welcome. We always find our room clean and comfortable. The indoor swimming pool is an added bonus. The breakfast is sufficient and we like the fact that it is opened until 10:00 a.m. We highly recommend this lodge to anyone who is looking for a pleasant experience at a reasonable rate. C.     We have stayed at a lot of Hotels, many good ones as well as bad ones, but Best Western Plus in Holland, Michigan ranks with the best. The staff and management go out of their way to make your stay the most pleasant. If there is a problem, they fix it immediately. This is a very clean and comfortable Hotel.     I had been told by friends that Best Western hotels were not really top notch. When I checked in, I was met by Scott, the Property Manager, who immediately welcomed me with a cheery greeting. He gave me a Jr. King Suite, with a small sofa and a king bed, at a very affordable price and I found this to be very comfortable and extremely clean. The breakfast was superb, better than I've had at hotels with higher ratings, with a full range of eggs, bacon, toast, juices, yogurts, etc. The large center table is an attraction all to itself with glittering small pieces of glass imbedded on its surface. Overall, a great experience. Thanks, Scott, and to all your friendly staff.

    « Amazing hotel and staff!!! »

    We stayed here Nov 13-15 for a hockey tournament and the staff was absolutely amazing! Excellent customer service when booking as well as the hotel staff throughout our stay. They team was given a room to play mini-sticks and the parents had their own space to congregate. The staff was professional and extremely friendly- numerous staff members even asked how we played when returning from a game. I definitely recommend this hotel and this will be my only choice for future stays. Thank you again!!

    Decent, clean hotel, but they miss on the details. The check in team was friendly and helpful, but the morning check out staff was not friendly ans if you complain they will blame you. The door lock didn't latch unless you pushed or pulled extraordinarily hard. Pets are welcome, but there is a per night fee not listed on their website.

    I was hesitant to book because of the old adage, "You Get What You Pay For!" I love being surprised. This place was really clean. Simple, not fancy, but clean! I was bummed that the hot tub was out of commission, but kids still enjoyed swimming, and of course complimentary breakfast wins them over. I would definitely stay here again.

    We spent a Friday night in this Best Western while my Daughter had an event in town. The room was large enough and clean. Appreciated having a fridge and a microwave in the room. The pool area was large but the hot tub was drained the night we stayed. Small workout room with 3 machines. Breakfast was filing with the usual eggs, cereal, yogurts, and fruit. We would be willing to stay here again. It was the cheapest in price and a decent stay for the area.

    We stayed here for 2 nights for a hockey tournament. At check-in they were friendly and even offered to help with luggage (I believe his name was Patrick). The hotel has been recently updated (most areas, bathroom seemed dated). Breakfast was better than most. The employees were extremely friendly...they let our players use a conference room for meetings and play. The employees treated the players as guests (many hotels are rude to the kids). At breakfast they ran out of coffee as I was walking away an employee flagged me down to let me know they just refilled it. Nice stay!

    Property is newly renovated, and very well appointed. It is in an excellent location close to several restaurants and shopping centers. The staff are very knowledgeable and more than willing to assist you in any way possible.

    I had a very nice experience at the hotel, Scott,Terrie,Patrick, and I am forgetting the name of the gentleman that worked the third shift. They all went the extra mile to help make your stay the best!! The rooms were very nice and clean,the housekeeping is wonderful and friendly. The breakfast is one of the best ones I've been to, I like having choices and they do that and more. I think the grab and go lunch or snack is a great idea. Overall I had a very nice time and really enjoyed my stay!! :-) I give them an A+

    We stopped in Holland for the day and stayed at Best Western because of the good reviews we had read. We certainly were not disappointed. From the moment we checked in, Patrick at the front desk went above and beyond to be extremely helpful. We had a Jr. Jacuzzi Suite because of the reviews I knew the hot tub was under maintenance. I understand that, things break and need to be fixed. We had a king size bed, pull out couch and a jacuzzi in the bathroom which was big enough for two people. Our room was very clean, beds very comfortable and breakfast offered lots of options. We ordered pizza to our room on Patrick's suggestion from a place called Petrino's. Great pizza at super cheap prices. We really enjoyed our visit to Holland, but honestly we had a lot of fun at the hotel! We would come back for sure.

    I always know I'm home when I check in to this hotel.I've been staying here 2 times a year when visiting family for years.I've always had a great room with a great price along with clean nice pool area.This summer was the best stay yet.It has been remodeled and is under new management.The staff was super friendly. They even let a girls swim team use the breakfast area for thier pizza party one afternoon. Breakfast has more options than before as well and was a very clean area. I have stayed at many of the hotels in the area untill I stayed here. Now I look forward to my stay here as much as seeing my family.Great job and it was a wonderfull stay again :)

    My fiancé and I stayed for 2 wonderful nights. We had a Jr jucuzzi tub room with a huge soft bed. The room was very clean! The hot breakfast in the morning was well stocked with good variety. The staff was helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

    Really nice visit. The hotel itself is very well maintained and clean. Hotel staff are great. This is a step up from the hotels one typically finds in the price range. Excellent value for the money and I would most definitely stay there again.

    The Best Western in Holland was a very good place to stay. Our room was spacious with 2 queens, room was very clean and quiet. Also liked having 2 doors that went to the parking lot and car and other down hallway from front desk and snack bar. Staff helpful and answered questions about directions.. Will stay again on next trip to Holland

    Very good rate for this area of the state. Room was very clean and comfortable. Only problem I had was with the motion sensor in the bathroom but I made it through that. Good location for restaurants, close to downtown and not to far from Lake Michigan.

    Great staff. We arrived tired - looking forward to a nice soak in the hot tub. Discovered the hot tub was being service. Scott was so kind to upgrade our room and was so friendly and helpful to make sure to accomadate our needs. Hotel was clean and had every thing we needed. Thanks for a great stay.

    Excellent staff. Very good breakfast. Our room was clean and reasonably updated. We had 2 queen beds. One bed was nice and firm, but the other really needed replacing. It was very soft and saggy. We would stay here again.

    Nice hotel,carpeting on stairs is desperately in need of replacement. Rooms are good sized. Breakfast was included. Pool is open 24 hours. Locations is not easy to find unless you have a navigation system. Sean at reception was very helpful and friendly.

    The check in help was great,fast and very helpful with our questions about places to eat and visit even printed off directions for us !We stayed here partly because we brought our dog on this trip,room was nice everything worked only complaint was the shower head,I think a squirt gun has more water pressure ! We were visiting Grand Valley State college but we were also able to go over to the lake and visit the State park see the lighthouse do a bit of hiking.Would stay here again.

    My husband and I stayed here a few weekends ago. The first thing that made us bummed out was that when we checked in, we were given a room that was not the one we paid for on Orbitz. When we went to the desk to ask about it, the front desk clerk told us that the room we had requested was no longer available (there were multiple weddings staying at the hotel the same weekend: my money is on one of them snatching our suite!). So instead of the king suite we were excited about, we ended up in a regular room with two full beds: TOTALLY not the kind of fun getaway room we had been looking forward to as we drove all those hours to get there. :( The room itself was okay: poor insulation (we could hear everything from all directions), but decorated nice enough. The beds were fairly comfortable. Our room was on the bottom floor, so we had both an interior AND exterior door. Some people like this feature, but it freaked us out a bit, I confess. There's a lot to like about this hotel, don't get me wrong: it has a very nice pool area, a small but well-appointed workout room, and the breakfast room was attractive (We didn't eat the breakfast because we had plans, but it seemed well-stocked). The staff are really friendly. It's located well, and has ample parking. But what we paid for the room? We just expected it to be a little better in all directions.

    This motel had a problem with the dead bolt on the door but the front office assured it would be fixed. We were moved to another room. The room was very comfortable and did not have noise from other rooms. The bathroom was very clean and the amenities were provided and were used.

    We enjoyed our two night stay at the hotel. Pet friendly hotel which we love. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. Beds were comfy and I would recommend people to stay here.
