« Great place to stay »

The hotel is very centrally located. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff has always been very friendly and helpful. The lobby is beautifully decorated and always cozy. I would not hesitate to recommend this property.

« last minute deal through tripadvisor »

Got a great last minute deal through tripadvisor. Big double queen room with private balcony. Balcony rooms in back look out over parking lot, a road, then the river and mountains. Overall, room was clean (a couple of spots could have been cleaner), comfortable, EXCELLENT breakfast, friendly staff.

    « Average »

Our stay here was marred by a lack of sleep due to noisy neighbors. That is not necessasarily the fault of the hotel but it does play a role in my review. The hotel front desk area is very nice and looks like it may have been updated recently and the desk clerk was very pleasant. The breakfast area was clean and the food about the same as every other free breakfast hotel. The rooms are very dated however, and the walls are paper thin, thus the lack of a good night sleep. The bed was comfortable enough and the sheets and bath towels were actually nice. Overall, about average for this type of hotel.

    « Great hotel »

We stayed in a mountain view room with a king sized bed. The room was hudge and had a comfortable couch. There was a nice balcony with two chairs and a small table, a great place to relax. The breakfast was good, there was plenty of tables and a nice fireplace. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

« A walk away from the Alpine Village »

We stayed here for our trip in Helen to see the German Alpine Village. The hotel has reasonable prices and free complimentary breakfast and free wifi. We had a 3 minute walk to the Alpine Village, so we didn't bother driving, so it was nice being so close to the town. My negative was that the rooms were outdated and could use some renovating. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

    4
    « Comfortable and Accomodating »

The location of this hotel is a comfortable walking distance from downtown Helen, where there are plenty of shops! Near the hotel are decent eateries of various price ranges. If you have children, there is a beautiful park behind the hotel along the river side, with a playground. Front desk was very helpful and friendly. The rooms on the side facing "Bigg Daddy" restaurant are subjected to more noise from live entertainment on the weekends. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast is o.k. - typical continental breakfast.

    « Alpine village trip »

This hotel is located perfectly for a nice walk to and from town. The entire staff were very helpful. In fact after we checked out we had a flat tire and the desk clerk came out and helped my husband change the tire and was glad to do so. Also recommended a tire repair shop close by. Turner's Tire in Cleveland Georgia. They repaired the tire and were very courteous

« Wonderful stay in Helen Georgia »

This hotel was very close to everything. We walked everywhere we went. Breakfast was a plus, everything was fresh and we enjoyed it very much. No problems at this hotel at all. Staff was excellent and hotel was very nice.

    « Nasty nasty nasty »

Toilet had gross mold all under rim.. sheets were old and yellow . Room was creepy.. weathered furniture.. Tiny plastic moblehome shower .. I will never stay at another Best Western.. nothing best about it ....

    « OK »

Charming little town. Best Western was average, nicely situated on Main St. The breakfast included was nice. There was a little field by the parking lot where we played soccer as a family. Staff was nice and accommodating.

    « Very accommodating »

The hotel is very clean and they were very accommodating. We came in for a wedding and were allowed to check in early so we could get ready. The room was awesome and very clean. It is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful town.

« Very nice staff but breakfast was "fast" »

Stayed for 3 nights. Nice location with walking distance to downtown Helen. We have 2 young kids and the two times that we came for breakfast, they run out of sausage and egg! We were there before before 10. The lady who was preparing breakfast was very nice and apologetic the two times. The second day, she remembered that there were no sausages so she cooked up some on the microwave for us. Our last day, we came a little past 9 and there were sausage and eggs.. Also biscuit and gravy. We make sure to book hotels with free breakfast on our trips because it saves us time and money... We've never had this problem with any hotels that we have ever stayed in that comes with breakfast. Hotel room was updated but still a little dated since they kept some of the furnishings. It was generally clean.

    3
« Stay at Best Western, Helen, Ga. »

Room was not vacuumed prior to our arrival and even though we requested it be done the next morning it never happened. The location of this hotel is great because you can walk to the shopping and restaurants.

« Weekend Out great place to stay. Highly Recommended. »

This is one of the nicest Hotels in Helen, we had a room with Balconey and fireplace,The weather was perfect so it worked. It was quiet and clean, Lots of options for breakfast and parking name the room worked out perfect. Will come back in again.

    2
« Good Location, Large Rooms »

Stayed for 3 days in Helen, Georgia. Rooms very large, good location. Thought room was very over priced, Air conditioning very noisy, very dated, cleaning left much to be desired. Would not stay here again.

« Do Not Stay Here..... »

Check in was okay. Noticed a Iron burn on the carpet next to the closet. Bath looked okay except for the black cracks around the ceiling over the shower, Remote for the TV would not work from the other side of the room, had to set up in bed and reach out to change channels. Construction crew for Astro-turf was staying at motel on first and second floor, noticed they were Drinking Alcohol and spitting chewing tobacco and had chairs outside of the motel talking loudly on cell phones, Oh yes Beer Cans, how nice, Then about 9:00 Pm they moved back inside and yes over top of our room, now this is when we started looking up at the ceiling wondering if they were going to come thru, then we noticed all the little indentations on the ceiling some patched mostly not patched. Now we knew why they were there. When we reported this to the Desk Clerk He said it's no wonder to me. This tells me that he may have had a little to do with our wonderful stay at this motel.

    3
    « Conference »

I am here with my family for a conference. It's a beautiful season to be in Helen. The hotel is basic. I would recommend for a short stay of 2-3 days. It was clean upon arrival. The decor had been updated but you can still tell it's an older hotel. However, overall it was a decent stay. I would come back if needed.

    4
« Nice stay in Helen »

All was well except breakfast. They served until 10am and on 2 mornings we were there by 9:25 and they were out of meat both times. Was told if they cooked more it would take until 10. Room was comfortable. Motel under new ownership with new staff. It may take a little while to work out some of the kinks. Was told the old owner built the new Holiday Inn Express in Helen and a week prior to our visit took the whole staff with him - hiss on the Holiday Inn Express in Helen, Georgia.

    2
    « Unorganized mess! »

After reserving a ground floor room because one of our guests is DISABLED, we were told we had a room on the 2nd floor with an "outside" elevator. Then we were told we would be moved to the first floor where some of the "new owners" had been staying. The ground floor room was not cleaned properly before they moved us; the microwave had not even been wiped out; the floors had not been vacuumed, etc. Also, one of the beds had something metal underneath which made it about 6 inches higher than the other bed. Everyone we complained to mentioned that there had been a change in ownership about 2 weeks prior to our arrival and they were getting used to the new owners. The employees seemed very stressed with the situation. The only high point of our stay was the free breakfast, even though it was served in the lobby instead of a separate room like most Best Westerns. We would not recommend this motel to anyone!

    « annual friends trip »

great place to stay, walking distance to town. great when you are on a motorcycle. staff very friendly, great breakfast, highly recommend this place. needed copies of a map for one of our motorcycle rides, and they had a complimentary copy machine which was very helpful!

« Excellent place to stay »

The staff at this hotel was extremely good. They were very busy and very helpful. I think they were even training someone at the time. The suites at the back were great . I had to stay a little past checkout but experienced no problems

    4
« Nice Place to stay. »

We enjoyed our stay there. Check in was very slow. The employee was having equipment problems. We would possibly stay again. The bed was nice, We had a balcony room, it was nice. The staff was nice, The breakfast was very good. Coffee was very good. Nice fireplace in the lobby. We walked to shopping and dining from there.

    5
« Great place and folks »

Clean, will maintained, great location, good food. Puts you just off town center and well within walking distance for shopping. Outside hallways WELL lit, causing some light excess inside the room at night. Housekeeping probable needs better vacuums, since some small pieces did not get picked up during the cleaning process, but overall the place was great.

    5
    « Nice Clean Atmosphere! »

Exceeded my expectations. Great location! Clean atmosphere! Only issue we had was poor WIFI. Would definitely stay here again. A great central location to downtown Helen, Unicoi, Cleveland & even not too far of a drive to Dahlonega.

    3
    « Enjoyed our stay »

We've stayed in Helen many times...usually camping at Unicoi State Park, but this time we brought an out-of-state friend who was visiting us. We stayed at the Best Western because our trip was a short one, and it was more convenient than camping. The BW did not disappoint. The room was large, beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. We ended up with a room with a balcony, so that was nice. The breakfast in the lobby is just what you'd expect from a hotel. It wasn't great, but it filled us up and didn't cost extra. Personnel were friendly. I'd stay here again.

    3
    « Convenient location, BUT... »

be aware, and check the locks on your door! Our chain lock was installed incorrectly. They're supposed to be installed horizontally. Our room had it installed vertically, where the chain could just be lifted straight out. I ended up hanging a very heavy bag on it, but still. If there's one like that, there's probably a lot of others. The instructions are right on the package, can't imagine any "half way" handy person not knowing how to install one, and it's a definite safety concern.

    5
« Great folks, clean rooms »

We enjoyed our 3 day stay as we roamed the mountains and explored the area. Beautiful scenery complete with waterfalls and picturesque mountains. Everyone here exceeded our expectations. We will be back nectar year and hoteliers stay in the Best Western motel.

    4
    « nice hotel »

Hotel was nice, nice clean rooms, good warm breakfast, nice beds, most of the personnal was friendly and knowledeble, just make sure your reservations gonna be fullfilled! [almost did not have a room, even after i let them know, i come in a little later[6 pm])

    3
« Nice for the Price »

We stayed here recently for a couple of nights while visiting the Helen area, We received a warm southern welcome upon entering the front door. The lady at the desk that day was definitely an asset to this place. To be truthful, I had been a little worried about this place because it did appear a slight bit older than some of the other hotels. However, I was pleasantly surprised upon entry into our room. The room was clean and I had not one complaint. The breakfast was slightly above average for hotels of this type. We only ate breakfast one morning because the sitting area was too crowded the second morning. I would definitely stay here again if ever in the Helen area.

    5
« Great people and accommodations »

Enjoyed the service and the people who provided the service along with the accommodations given for the price of the room. The hotel was located in the main part of the town and we walked to every event and shopping and we felt secure and comfortable doing so. We also got to keep you with our "counting of steps" exercise because of the availability and the hotel's location

    « Octoberfest Hotel »

Hotel is conveniently located, staff is friendly but not knowledgeable about area activities. Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was very good. Computer glitch delayed checkout. Compared to other area hotels we believe it is a good value. Our friends had a "suite" with jacuzzi tub and fireplace and really enjoyed it.

    « An Alpine Delight!! »

We stayed 3 nights in theBW Plus Riverpark Inn at Helen, Ga while attending a family wedding. The entire TOWN of Helen is so sweet....a true German Funfest!!! The Best Western is a lovely, clean, and comfortable place to stay....The Staff are all so friendly helpful. Do NOT miss the breakfast .....it was probably the absolute BEST breakfast we have ever had in a hotel!!! Scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, delicious Ham,lost of choices of fruit, yogurt, pastries and of course waffles. We were very pleased with our stay here and will certainly stay here again when we are back in the area. An added bonus is that the entire town was in Oktoberfest Mode...and was such fun!!!! We highly recommend Riverpark Inn AND Helen Georgia!!

    4
    « As expected »

Room had a musty odor. Our stay was pretty much as expected. Directions to local restaurant could have been more explicit. The cookies were delicious...but it's not easy to make a bad chocolate chip cookie!

    5
    « Get a balcony room! »

Wondrful expierences in this town. Not hip on the food at resturant next door. Go to the german inn down where the horses pick folks up. Nice staff and delicious food. Best western was clean and spacious. worked out directly across hall, locked self in the room and had the whole place to myself. Yeah! this is not a locked upstairs hallway by the way. overall, we stayed twice in this same room in oct of 2015.

    2
« Too expensive for what you get »

Hotel is old and in need of major repair. Had to air out room for an hour before we could stay in it. The smell of stale cigarettes and deodorizer was horrible. Guy at front desk was super. Others working or standing around not very friendly. Very over priced for the holiday.

    4
« Good hotel in great location »

This hotel is in a great location in Helen. We were there mainly for OctoberFest and this is an easy walk to the Festhalle, as well as to most of the restaurants and shops. Check-in was quick and easy. The room was clean and large with a mini-fridge and a microwave. Wifi and breakfast are free. The bed was comfortable and it was surprisingly quiet considering there is a popular restaurant with a large deck next door. Check out was also quick and easy. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

    5
    « Comfortable Bed »

We chose a room with a king size bed. It was extremely comfortable. No complaints about the room. Balcony was great too, although we didn't stay around much to enjoy it. Two nights would be better than one. Fireplace in room would be nice in fall and winter. Breakfast was wonderful, especially the smoky ham. Within walking distance to center of town if you are healthy and don't mind walking.

    4
« Walking distance to everything »

This place is just close enough and yet far enough to be perfect. Stayed here during Oktober Fest and was pleasantly surprised. The check in and service was spot on and the room had been updated and nice. The best part was we could walk to anything in minutes and not hear any noise back at the room.

    5
    « My New Favorite... »

Checking in a hotel in Helen on an unplanned weekend is risky! I walked in, Jacob handled my check in flawlessly, I stayed using points, was given my choice of floors. That was just the beginning. My room was super clean, I am one of the travelers that dials the AC all the way down and I was not disappointed. The bed was as comfortable as any I have ever slept in and even with a dozen motorcycles outside my door, it was as quiet as could be. Thanks Best Western for a very enjoyable end to my Saturday in Helen!

    5
    « Vacation »

Great hotel. The suite was spacious and clean. Staff was very friendly. Could not beat the location. Most everything in town within walking distance. Plenty of options for the free breakfast. Would stay again.

« Nice stay in Helen, Ga. (Octoberfest) »

Checked in by Debbie on Thursday afternoon, everything went well until about 900 Pm, when the people next door started screaming into their cell phones and walking outside to the deck will talking loudly out there, this went on for 3 hours or more, finally ceased a little after midnight, Told Debbie about this the next day and was moved to another nicer suite on the other end of the building.

    3
« Best Western Plus - Alpine Helen, GA »

Overall decent hotel; a little out dated in bedding, decor and can use some carpet cleaning if you suffer with allergies and/or hay fever. Very friendly staff, decent breakfast spread and presentation, easy check-in and easy check-out. Great location to various venues and things to do within walking distance.

    5
    « very pleasant stay. »

very nice two queen bed room, good outdoor seating on river side rooms, enjoyed our 3 night stay - short walk to river behind hotel, shaded, fun to watch river tubers - breakfast selection more than expected, sausage gravy was tasty

    5
« Excellent rooms and excellent customer service »

Reservation were a breeze with collin Also want to thank Donna,Debbie,Charity and Stacy for there exceptional customer service and going out of there way to accommodate everyone great group of employees

    5
    « Good Stay »

A pleasant place to stay. Convenient location to local attractions and a great restaurant (Big Daddy's) right next door. We purchased Crafts made by local artists that were on display in the Hotel lobby. I'll for sure stay there again.

    4
    « Great stay overall »

I was here for a girls weekend of ziplining and this was a great place to stay. The room was a good size, the staff was very friendly and the included breakfast was filling. The rooms could stand a touch of updating to the carpets and bathroom but overall a good value.

    4
« Very convenient location and comfortable. »

Friendly, professional staff, clean, comfortable, and very convenient 9easy walking distance) to downtown Helen. However, the property is fairly old and in need of remodeling. Value is about a good as for nearby properties; however, some nearby properties are newer.

    4
« Great place to stay in Helen! »

The best western plus was a pleasant surprise to say the least. We stayed in a suite with a mountain view balcony and thought it was great. The room is much bigger than a normal sized hotel room and the place was clean. The bed was very comfy and was promptly attended to each and every morning. Our towels were replaced and put back into their appropriate spots every day and we never had to ask which is a change of pace.

    5
« Great place to stay »

The staff at this Best Western were extremely pleasant to work with and very friendly. Our room was very comfortable and well equipped. The pool, although small, was very clean and well taken care of. The morning breakfast was outstanding with not only the usual fare at many hotels but also sliced ham off the bone. Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are also available 24 hours. Would return here again in the future.

    4
    « Mom »

Very nice for me, warm breakfast, clean rooms, polite people and Big Daddy's restaurant right next door was good. Area is scenic with park and river behind hotel. Reasonable rate also. I would stay here again. ????????????????????????????????????????????????????

    « Multiple Complaints »

I stayed in room 215 on Aug 3. When I first opened the door, I smelled a strong musky odor. The bathroom smelled of urine. There was no soap at the sink. There were ants on the bed and desk. The T.V. had bad reception. The pool was foggy and had white stuff all around the sides and had lots of bugs and dirt at the bottom. The breakfast was out of waffle mix and danishes before 10am. The comforter had a large, light brown stain on the side. Gross! The inside A/C unit had lots of dust/crud accumulated on it. The filter needed to be cleaned. The A/C compressors for the second floor were on the second floor behind a wooden board. It looked tacky. The maids looked rough and gathered within sight to smoke many times. Some of the A/C units outside of the rooms had a trail of condensation going across the walkway that could cause a person to fall. There were so many cracks in the walkway on that second floor. The outside elevator was so obsolete, you had to press and hold the button. It was rickety. The location is right next door to a bar that has seasonal outdoor seating. It gets loud, may not be good for those who go to bed early. The whole place looked old, run down and it looked as if they just painted over it. It needs to be torn down and a modern building put up. If not that, they at least need to steam clean the carpets and change the comforters after guests. It was not worth what they charged. I couldn't wait to get out

    5
    « very convenient location »

Convenient to all the shops and restaurants in downtown Helen, GA! We were able to walk to get gifts for our families, wine tasting, dinner, karaoke and dancing. The hotel staff was very friendly and professional!

    4
« We enjoyed our trip! »

Always enjoy staying at the Best Western. Clean rooms, free internet, great breakfast. Food was hot and a big variety of choices. Good price. Downtown Helen Ga. Within walking distance to town. Big rooms.

    3
    « Average Stay »

I came for a military brats reunion, and it was an adequate stay. We were going to stay at the Holiday Inn express, but it was not completed yet. Average room, good breakfast, comfortable bed, I have stayed at much nicer places in the past six months at lower prices.

    5
    « Great Stay! »

This hotel had lovely, spacious rooms, a very nice lobby, and a good breakfast. It was easy walking distance to all the in-town places I wanted to go to, and an easy drive to the rest. Highly recommended!

    3
    « Clean large room »

Although the hotel was older, it was very clean and we had a very large room. The paint and granite updated the look. The rating is average only because of the musty smell of the room. Otherwise, the breakfast was good and refreshed when needed.

    4
    « Nice, clean room »

Quaint hotel with clean rooms. Beds squeaked with every movement. ( a little WD-40 would do wonders) decent continental breakfast. Outdoor pool was nice. Loved the view of the park across the street. There were ants all over the deck outside.

    5
    « Great Deal »

Very clean rooms but nothing fancy. If your looking for a clean room at a great price this is a good option. Close walk to all of the shopping and dining. Outside pool looked clean although we didn't use it. You can't beat it for $69.99 a night compared to other hotels in the area at $100 + per night.

    5
    « Nice Hotel »

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for the first time. I had a king suite, the suite was clean and the A/C worked great. The breakfast was outstanding and tasted great. Would definitely recommend this place. It was within walking distance to everything and the price was reasonable.

    5
    « Great Stay »

Very clean hotel inside and out. Beautiful lobby and rooms. Great variety of items for breakfast. Great staff members. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Location was great with many restaurants around it.

    « Pleasent stay »

The hotel was a nice stay ,clean rooms, Breakfast was good and away from the center of Alpine Helen enough as not to get the noise from town, just a couple of blocks from the center of town. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. It's an older motel , so don't look for fancy amenities.

    4
    « Great Stay »

We stayed in one of the suites at the back of the hotel. It was very roomy and had a nice balcony. The breakfast is always good here and the staff members are always very helpful and friendly. We have stayed at this property several times and have always been pleased. It is a great area to ride the motorcycle. We also went to several surrounding towns and had a nice ride and did some great shopping.

    4
« Pleasant hotel in Helen, GA »

Hotel staff were all extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Rooms were large and comfortable. Rooms do not have central A/C, which may be typical of other hotels in the town. Only negative (for me) was the pillows were not comfortable. Full disclosure...I am a picky sleeper. Bed was fine. Easy walking distance to center of town. Right next door to Big Daddy's Restaurant, which was a nice discovery when we arrived hungry.

    3
    « bad time »

just an average over priced hotel, room smelled like old dish cloth, mildew in Bath room, service not good and not friendly and lied at check in. Pool was the only plus, told us no room down stairs, that was a lie had many rooms available, Trying to play the hotel game

    « Nice Place..Check In Nightmare! »

My family and I decided to go stay in Helen for a mini getaway from the hustle of work. We booked our room through the website. We went to check in at 2pm hoping that maybe by some miracle that they would allow early check in. They were not ready.. and told us to give them an hour. OK no big deal, we headed off to lunch and look around. So we return about 345pm to check in, only to be told that they are still not ready for us. I was heated by this point. We had to sit in the lobby for an additional 45 minutes. So when they finally get us in the room, we notice that there is no roll away bed that we had asked for at booking. I go back to the front desk to ask for one, they tell me that they are trying to locate one..by this point I am already upset from the wait so I just say thank you. The room was nice, spacious, and had everything we could have wanted (coffee maker, fridge, microwave) The beds were very comfortable and had very nice pillows. Breakfast was good. I enjoyed the sausage and the yogurt. Swimming pool was nice to cool off in. Overall the place is quiet. We never were bothered by noisy people or anyone. I would recommend this hotel to people, just the check in and staff left a bad impression on me.

    « Peach of a hotel »

This is a fairly new property. Single rooms have exterior entrances; suites have interior entries. Our suite had a balcony, fireplace, duvet, micro/fridge and was extremely comfortable, clean, and quiet. It was incredibly affordable.

    « Great stay!!! »

While trying to drag the luggage and bags up the stairs my daughter accidetly dropped her newly bought bottle of wine. The manager just happened to see everything that happened and had someone clean it up right away. Not ten minutes later there was a knock at the door it was the manager with another bottle of wine, it was the most thoughtful gesture ever. We truly appreciated the thoughtful gift. Not only that incident made it a great stay but the front desk employee was very professional and helpful. The room was very clean and organized. I definitely recommend this location.

Stayed here for a weekend to visit family. Outside was not terrible but could use a little sprucing up, but that was not the case with the room. Room was exceptionally clean. Appeared to have been recently updated. Felt a little more spacious then average motel room. I liked that it had a small closet area instead of just a bar on the wall to hang things. Beds were very comfortable with nice bedding. Each bed had four nice pillows...and I loved that two were softer and two were firmer. Bathroom also seemed to be recently updated with nice stone walls in tub area, nice sized tub and the towels were an upgrade from the standard motel version. The outside was kept very clean. We didn't use the pool but it was also very clean, no debris in the water and the area around it kept up as well. Each morning a staff member was cleaning the pool area and was kind of meticulous about it, making sure all the chairs and loungers were clean and positioned just so. The breakfast area was very clean and kept stocked up. The breakfast itself was very good. Several hot and cold choices as well as little extras like cookies, a variety of hot teas and even fruits, nuts and granola to mix in with your yogurt. Staff was very friendly! Although we didn't use it, it did have an exterior elevator to get to the upper level. If you're planning to spend 'tourist' time in Helen this is a great location, withing walking distance to many restaurants, shopping and activities. Would definitely stay at this property again or recommend to a friend!

This hotel was great. Shops and one mini golf course are within walking distance. The river and park are right across the street, and Bigg Daddy's is right next door. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. Great coffee :) We enjoyed ourselves so much that we added another night to our stay.

    « Just wow! »

Probably the best place I've been to in this area. I am always treated like royalty. The rooms are just superb. The staff gets an A++. If you visit Helen, GA this place is where you must stay. Can't say any bad things about them. How about when the kitchen was being renovated they passed out vouchers to Huddle House, enough said. Then there's the breakfast. Can't say enough about this make you feel at home breafast! Wonderful, wonderful place to stay and rest.

We stayed overnight on Helen to enjoy some local attractions and found ourselves at the Best Western. Checking in was easy. The staff are pleasant and seem to really want to help. Rooms are easy to access. Rooms are spacious and clean. The kids loved playing in the pool. For the money, great value.

Great stay at this Best Western The buffet breakfast was very good with ham and sausage, biscuits and gravy, and the other usual things like hot and cold cereal. Good coffee and friendly helpful staff. The 2 queen bed room was truly "oversized" as it was advertised. There was enough room to put down a blow up mattress if you really need to for the kiddos, but we did not have any small children in our party. I would highly recommend and would stay there again.

Everything we needed, including adding an extra night. Great breakfast in the lobby. Close to everything--putt-putt, gem mining, tubing, hiking, waterfalls. Walk next door to Bigg Daddy's (yum). Super friendly, helpful staff. My son loves the pool and the exercise room.

    « Nice Hotel »

Our family of four stayed here for two nights during our trip to Helen, GA. We were extremely satisfied with the quality, cleanliness and location of the room. The breakfast was especially nice for a complementary, continental breakfast. If traveling through that area, we would not hesitate to stay at this location again.

    « Good Overall, But... »

I stayed here five nights while I attended a motorcycle rally in Helen. The Best Western was not the host hotel, but it was cheaper, fairly recently remodeled, and, come to find out, far better than the host hotel in most respects, so I was mostly pleased with my choice. PROS: the room was large and had a good size refrigerator and a microwave oven; the shower had a good showerhead with multiple adjustments; the queen bed was acceptably comfortable; the breakfast offerings were among the best I've seen in a moderately priced hotel (spiral sliced ham? YEAH!); the pool itself was clean and welcome after a day spent riding the twisties in the Georgia heat and humidity; I was able to park the bike right outside my room every day; the TV was OK (could have been a bit bigger screen, see below); there were plenty of TV channels to choose from; and the A/C unit was up to the task of keeping the room comfortable. CONS: housekeeping was very so-so as far as cleaning went. When I moved the ottoman out of the way after checking in, it was clear that the carpet under it hadn't been vacuumed in days (weeks?). That is just the height of laziness, so I marched to the front desk and asked for that piece of grossness to be fixed immediately. Also, as the week went on, the housekeeper did less and less, finally just smoothing out the sheets rather than actually making the bed. Even though the carpet had gotten progressively dirtier, it was never vacuumed. About all I got for my money was a couple clean towels each day. Disappointing. But, they did replace a fluorescent light tube above the sink at my request. It took two people to handle that task. Also, the room arrangement was backward, as far as the placement of the TV hutch and the desk. With the only easy chair in the front corner, the TV was a long way away. The hutch should have been where the desk was, and vice versa. While the pool proper was OK, the furniture was a bunch of mismatched, worn out stuff. BUT, during my stay, it was replaced with all-new matching lounges, chairs, and tables, so kudos for that. And I believe it was the hotel manager I saw pointing out the pool enclosure boards falling off the wrought iron fencing, so I have a feeling that will be addressed in the near future, too, as it should be. The only other CON would be my room being on the side of the hotel facing a local restaurant/watering hole, and the music and crowd noise could be a bit loud. But I just turned up the A/C fan a little. So, for the most part, the only thing keeping this place from an Excellent rating would be the lax housekeeping. Fix that and all is good. But, since I'd never heard of Helen, Georgia prior to the bike rally, I highly doubt I'll ever return, and that goes for the Best Western. A bit of a shame, really, since the breakfast was so nicely done...

Great Hotel for the price. Includes full breakfast. Staff was great and very helpful. The hotel is a tiny bit outdated(they are updating) nothing major extremely clean (im a germ-a-phobe) nothing smells and beds are great. Walking distance to EVERYTHING

    « Nice weekend trip »

No problems at all! beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. While not right in the center of town, it is within walking distance. The Chattahootchie River is behind the hotel and you can go and sit and enjoy the peace and watch the "tubers" float by. The place to rent tubes is right there too. We bought a bottle of wine at a winery and failed to get a corkscrew. We asked at the front desk and they were happy to loan us one.

The suite was for a special occasion. Room was very clean and had a balcony attached. Balcony advertised stated a wonderful view. View was a small park across the street. Room was fairly quiet but you could hear the children thru the wall and could hear them when they went to the balcony. WE had a good sleep with no interuptions.

« Nice place to stay »

The hotel was clean and the room surprised us when we opened the door. They were painting the facade out front when we got there, giving it a much better look. The rooms were much more updated than expected. The beds (2 Kings) were nice and comfortable. The tv didn't always come through clearly on all the channels. The room had a microwave, safe, and refrigerator. The hotel is within walking distance of anything we wanted to do in town. We booked the hotel through a "hot" discount site. The staff was friendly and they had a good continental breakfast. The wifi was hit or miss with both speed and connectivity. I would stay at this hotel again.

    « Great for a quick getaway »

We stayed for 1 night and we really liked it. We checked in around 10:00pm and my son wanted to go swimming since the pool closes at 11:00pm. The pool area was nice and well kept. I read the other reviews and requested a poolside room since Bigg Daddy's was on the other side. We didn't hear anything but we were exhausted from traveling. The breakfast was great but get there early. They only have a few tables to sit at. We got there around 7:30-8:00am & it wasn't crowded. Our rooms did not have adjoining doors to other rooms. This hotel was in the perfect spot for Cool River tubing, the restaurants & shopping on Main Street! I will say the vending machines in our area didn't have 1 snack in it! Completely empty! I'm so glad we packed snacks. Overall...good place to stay for the price! We'll be back with snacks in case ??

My friend and I booked our stay back in April. We loved the hotel. It was clean, well decorated, and was within walking distance of the heart of Helen. The only issue we had was payment. We had paid when we booked but when we checked in, they charged us again. I've called the hotel and they tell me the money will be reimbursed to me within two business days.

    « Long weekend »

Our first and last visit at this hotel. We normally stay only at Hampton Inn but decided to give this place a chance . Not a fan of connecting doors in the room unless I request a room with an adjoining room also the furniture is a bit outdated although you can tell that it had been remodeled recently. The breakfast is about average for a hotel that offers breakfast. The staff on the day we checked in were very nice and helpful but on Saturday the 16 th the woman at the desk that was putting out cutlery and plates really didn't seem to like her job and again when we didn't receive our cleaning service at 3 pm so we emptied our trash and took our towels for clean ones her reply was because the housekeeping staff were called off of regular rooms to do check ins . I just feel that if it were managed correctly they could do both :(

    « great room »

The room was HUGE. We opted for the two queen beds at $115 for one Thurs night. The checkin clerk was great. The clerk recommend several authentic German restaurants in the area. The room was huge for a family of four. The pool was small but adequate. The breakfast food was awesome, but there is limited seating and wait staff is rude. The checkout clerk had lots of attitude, but never said anything out of way. Overall the room is what you are here for and it's great.

    « Honeymoon-Bed not comfortable »

Pictures of this hotel are better than it actually is. Not sure why it is considered a BW Plus. The only thing that seemed to be updated was the carpet and A/C-heater. The Breakfast is very good, best part of our stay. One other thing we really appreciated was the sanitized TV remote(see picture.) Most of the rooms are outside rooms. Ours was spacious but very outdated(see picture of 1980's microwave.) We also had a problem with flies(see picture.) Also had a few bugs. I reported this to hotel staff member and he stated he would make a note of it. The bed was not comfortable as I felt like I was lying on boards. All of the furniture is old and the only place to sit is a futon which is not comfortable. I have decided after this trip and staying in three different hotels that we will stay in a higher star category on future trips. Hampton's, Holiday Inn Express and Fairfield's plus some I did not mention seem to be the most consistent. I would not stay here again.

    « GREAT value, location »

The hotel was very well maintained. We had a king size room and it was HUGE. Jacuzzi tub was an unexpected bonus, although I will say the shower head is incredibly low. I'm 5'3" and I had to bend my head a little to get under it. My 6'4" husband had a rough time with it. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good--biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, eggs, waffles, and all the typical dry foods like toast and muffins and fruit. It is walking distance to town--about a 6-10 minute walk depending on how fast you're walking. It was a very doable walk for my husband and I but it might be just a little bit long for the elderly or young children in the heat. It's located right on the main road but far enough away from the center of town to not be in the hustle and bustle of the crazy traffic in town. We never tried the pool but it did look a little small. No lifeguard on duty and it closes at 11pm FYI. Staff was excellent. Any time we called with questions or to have something brought to the room, they were there in minutes and always extremely helpful. There are definitely hotels that are closer or possibly nicer than this one, however, I think the value is what makes this hotel. It's a decent price with great amenities and location. Highly recommend! We'll be staying again.

    « Great Space »

We stayed one night here on our way up to the Great Smokey Mountains the day after Memorial Day. Access from the main road into Helen was easy. The hotel was quiet. The front desk was quick to check us in and we even got an early check-in. The room was spacious. It was a bit dated with a curtain instead of a door for a closet. Regardless, the room was exceptionally clean. The air conditioner worked perfectly. (My husband loves it freezing cold) The shower had perfect pressure and temperature. Close enough to shops and dining to walk. (less than a mile) WiFi was included. The breakfast in the morning was perfect for us before we left to hike at Unicoi State Park. Pankcakes, Yogurt, Fresh Fruit, Hard Boiled Eggs, Biscuits and Gravy, Coffe, & Juice were all available.

    5
    « Large room »

We stayed two nights and enjoyed everything. The room was larger than a standard but since this is a Plus level Best Western that is how they should be. It seemed like the hotel was full for the holiday weekend but we had no problems with noise from other rooms. Breakfast was typical Best Western but well stocked. The hotel is across from the city park which is a nice grassy area along the river and near a playground. If you are going to central Helen it is a little bit of an uphill walk, I recommend you take the street behind the hotel rather than Main St, it is a little less steep. Taking Main St back will be downhill. Every staff person was great. Our room had 2 queens, 2 suitcase racks, table with two chairs, and desk with desk chair. Big fluffy pillows..

« Pleasant Surprise in Helen! »

I booked this hotel with very few expectations. I figured it would just be a dumpy motel in Helen. I was so surprised by it. First, the staff was so friendly. Every person I encountered was just as friendly as the next. Our room was very large and spotlessly clean. I think it had just been renovated. The location was great, close to everything. I would totally stay here again.

    « Day in Helen »

Spent the night while traveling north. The rooms are a typical motel style. It was a nice change to have an outside room entrance since so many now have indoor entries. The staff were very polite and helpful and the complementary breakfast was like most. Wifi was complementary, too. We took time to visit lovely downtown Helen, a treat in itself if one enjoys Bavaria. Will look forward to visiting again when the foliage is changing during the fall.

The staff at the BW Riverpark went out of their way to help us with everything from suggested hikes, to loaning us a bottle opener so we could taste the local cider! Loved having a hot breakfast each day - biscuits, gravy, ham, sausage, potatoes, waffles, yogurt... The reception area always had coffee, tea and chocolate chip cookies waiting for us! Everyone was friendly, and we want to give an extra thanks to the manager who honored an online price error!!! We love you! The bed was comfy, and it was nice to have a balcony!

« Great place to stay, will stay here again!! »

My family stayed here for four nights in early April, as we were visiting Georgia for a wedding. It was a great stay, we were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door as to how big the room was, no one could be disappointed in that!! The room was extremely clean, the 2 queen sized beds were comfy, pillows were great, and the staff maintain the grounds well. The pool unfortunately wasn't open, as it opens in May, which was a bit of a letdown for my son and daughter, but what can we do? :) The breakfast was also an awesome addition to our stay. Breakfast consisted of, biscuits and gravy, eggs, muffins, juices, cereal, waffle maker, yogurt, milk and coffee. My one and only complaint is the overnight front desk lady. I personally thought she could've been more pleasant than what she was to me, she came off as being very rude and just a plain old grump. All in all, besides that incident with her, our stay was great and I'd stay here again if we ever pass through. Thank you Best Western for a great stay!

    « Very nice! »

I was on a 3 day business trip and had no idea this town is a little tourist center with the theme that the entire town is actually Germany or the Swiss Alps. Everything looks like a chalet. This hotel was located just south of the town central. Almost overlooking a gorgeous Riverwalk park. This is a walking/hiking town. My room was expansive with fridge, microwave, coffee, hair dryer. Lovely built in gas fireplace that threw off heat. I requested a bathtub; I received a jacuzzi room with a shower also, at an excellent rate.Free breakfast is listed as continental but offered meats and breakfast potatoes, waffles, as well. Great selection of hot teas. Enough outlets to recharge the work electronics. Pleasant and well maintained. Restaurants and bars within walking distance. You can't go wrong. And I did not get to tour the area, but it sure is popular! Note no laundry on site. There is a laundromat very close by.

The best place to stay in town. The front staff was amazing. They took the time to talk to my 4 year old (she was the reason we were in town) about why she was there and how she enjoyed doing pageants. We had a great stay at the best western. Rooms were nice and clean, and the staff was very courteous and polite. It may not have the best view of Helen, but was very conviniently located by everything you'd like to go see. The breakfast buffet was very maintained and delicious. If we every return to Helen, we'll be definitely staying here again.

« Good value for off season »

Breakfast had an amazing selection. The Internet computer was very useful except for printing our boarding pass since it was out of ink. The property is a bit worn looking. The exercise facility was nice but we could not locate the remote for the tv. We had to change it on the tv itself. One of my family member's could see daylight under their door, enough for a critter to enter.

« The Place to Stay when visiting Helen »

We always stay at Best Westerns when traveling due to their reputation as being very well maintained. This Best Western is no exception to the rule. While it appears to be an older facility, the owners have done an excellent job in keeping it up. When and if we visit Helen again, this will be our place to stay.

« Large, comfortable room but missed the jacuzzi! »

My husband RSVPd this and we were generally happy with the 2 rooms. We were supposed to have a Jacuzzi but upon entry saw only a gas fireplace (on a timer). Management apologized for that and as there were no other rooms available provided a discount on the room rate. The temperature outside was in the 30's at night but the fireplace provided extreme warmth and ambience! The river outside our window/balcony and across the street. The kids had a similar room w/o the fireplace & agreed the beds were comfortable especially after some strenuous hiking. Complimentary hot/cold breakfast in the lobby was good to get started and beverages and cookies were available all day & night! This hotel is within walking distance to Main St.& the rate reasonable.

    « Great overnight stay »

My family and I booked this motel as a place to stay overnight and wake up next morning to take my daughter to Babyland General Hospital for her 2nd birthday. We weren't looking for luxury or fancy, just a room to sleep in overnight. We stayed in rooms 212 and 214. The outside of the motel is not very appealing but the rooms and amenities were excellent. The beds slept so comfortably and the showers were very nice. The room was very clean. We enjoyed our stay.

    « Terrible »

I had a visit to Best Western Riverpark Inn & Conference center not too long ago and I said I enjoyed my visit, not true I hated my visit to this hotel, the room I was in was nasty, they have mold on their walls and bathroom ceilings. Elevator doesn't work half the time and they treat their hotel house keeping staff like laborers cause I over heard a couple of them (house keeping) talking. You want to stay at a very nice hotel, do not choose The Best Western in Helen.

The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, adequate breakfast. I liked that the hotel was close to downtown so you could walk. The only concern I had was the the parking lot was small, if got got back late it could be difficult to park. But I think that is a concern no matter where you are in Helen. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

    « Great visit. »

We stayed here for a weekend trip and it was great. It was kid friendly and the breakfast was good also. It was close to everything and the staff was very nice. There is a cute little grass area with sitting areas behind the hotel.

« Best place to stay if you want to be heard. »

I had the best experience at Best Western. They actually listened to my request. Me and my fiancee' travel to Helen when we want to get away from the everyday stresses of life. That is what we did this Valentines day weekend (2016). Check in was a breeze and the guy at the counter was very courteous. When my fiancee' and I got to the room we were surprised and amazed at the rose petals scattered on the bed. When I booked online I requested a nice romantic night and Best Western delivered with flying colors. Most of the time when a request it is ignored, but not at best Western. That few seconds of making a special request changed my weekend in a good way. My fiance' and I loved how there were rose petals and candles by the bed. It made our stay very romantic and I loved every second of it. If a person thinks big hotel chains do not care about customer service Best Western will change their mind. The room was perfect and clean. The giant bath tub almost spa tub was fabulous. If you want a nice couples weekend or vacation away room 223 at Best Western is your place to be. It is in walking distance of the town and there is so much to do there. Best Western went up and above the call of duty and I applause them for that. They will be top on my list of hotels I want to stay at next time my fiancee' and I are in Helen.

Nice, spacious room. Great location. Bigg Daddy's is across the parking lot. Habersham Winery and Nora Mill Granary are a couple of miles down the street. Plethora of shops one mile away. Wonderful front desk staff. Recommended which restaurants to visit and which to avoid. A real continental breakfast. Could enjoy near the fireplace. We will stay here whenever we visit Helen.

convenient location in Helen GA, near hiking/exploring Blue Ridge Mountains. Lots of nearby restaurants and attractions. Great breakfast to start each day. Loved the fireplace, kept the room just right. Would definitely stay here again on future trips to Helen.

« A great place to stay! Centrally located! »

We booked a room with a jacuzzi and fireplace. It also had a balcony. It was a perfect weekend getaway! The staff was great. Especially the young man Colin? Who helped me! If you can try to book a room with the jacuzzi and fireplace.

« Best Western in Helen, GA »

Our location was fine - only a short walk to the middle of town. The hotel itself was certainly adequate - we did have a good price - but I thought it was a bit "skimpy" on furniture....and certainly dated. However, the room was clean and I would not write it off on the next trip necessarily. We were not there to stay in a hotel room. Octoberfest was just closing the afternoon we arrived, but there was still plenty of excitement in town and we were also focused on touring the mountain region on our full day in Helen.

« Fantastic hotel, great staff, perfect location! »

This hotel was great.. Booked on very short noticed and they accommodated us well. Beautiful lobby with a fireplace, staff was extremely helpful and friendly.... Delicious breakfast spread in the morning! Our king room was very spacious with a fridge, microwave, coffee pot, etc. It even had an extra sleeper couch and a balcony with a fantastic mountain view! Good location to parks, river and downtown. The Big Daddy Restaurant next door had great food too! Definitely will be my go-to hotel when traveling to Helen!

« Oneof the best in Helen »

Clean rooms, quiet, friendly helpful staff, better than average breakfast. Have stayed here several times and it is consistently above average in all respects. I was there during Christmas and the lobby was beautiful, fireplace going, snacks available in the breakfast area. My husband was sleeping so I hung out in the lobby...very pleasant after a long day on the road..

    « Wonderful get-a-way »

The room was great, clean and welcoming, then had breakfast the next morning and OMG real ham, not that fake bacon but HAM, a country breakfast. Amazing. I don't know if it's the same for all Best Westerns but I was very pleased. Will for sure be stating at this hotel again.

Our first hotel room with a fireplace. Plan on visiting again. The staff was great, room was large and romantic, price was awesome. It was our third hotel this vacation and the best of the three. I would recommend anyone in the area to stop and stay.

    « Alpine stay »

We went to Helen for the weekend and stayed at the Best Western PLUS Riverpark Inn & Conference Center Alpine Helen again. My wife and I have stayed there several times before and this trip was a similar experience. The staff was courteous, the reception was warm and welcoming, the room was well stocked and clean, the linens were new and even the view was great. We always have a great time in Helen and the BW always adds to the experience. The fireplace in the room was a nice amenity and added to the ambiance. I would highly recommend this hotel!

« Good prices; good location; average clean »

This is a very comfortable property that has a nice breakfast and treats during the day. The rate over the New Years holiday was super! The updated rooms have soft, comfortable beds and spacious rooms. We even had a cute little balcony facing the back. But some days they must be in a hurry. We had some minor but very visible trash (bottle caps and such) left on the floor in our room. Over all the place was clean and smelled well kept. This is a very walk-able spot from which to get around town. Way better than driving and/or paying for parking. It did fill up for the night so call ahead.

Best Western PLUS Riverpark Inn & Conference Center Alpine Helen, Helen, GEORGIA is a great hotel to stay, beautiful area and an excellent family location! We had a lot of fun and looking to make this a yearly family get together

    « Wonderful »

Ask for room 134! Wonderful room. Very large room with fireplace, jacuzzi, outdoor area and comfortable king bed. Room on very end. Very clean. Lots of extras and a great breakfast. Gentleman at front desk had us checked in very quickly and he was super nice.

« Quick revisit of Germany in Georgia »

Great stop to get a feel for Germany in Georgia as Helen has a great section like being in Munich. Being Christmas makes it even more fun. The Great Western is top notch and the most complete breakfast in any motel I have stopped at in the last couple years.

« Best Western is the best Helen hotel! »

Great hotel, very clean and a super staff who is willing to go above and beyond for their guests! We have stayed here often over the years and will again. Love the fact that with its central location, you can access the whole town conveniently, even walking! The views from the balcony rooms are great....that's our choice every time!

« Great value for the price »

Couldn't have been happier with our stay at Riverpark Best Western. Rooms were roomy, clean and very comfortable beds. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling in the area.

    « Holiday Hospitality!!?? »

We recently visited this facility over this Thanksgiving Holiday week and were PLEASANTLY surprised to encounter an amazing young man (Colin) who exceeded our expectations regarding customer service. His level of hospitality in our time of need (due to illness) was not only greatly appreciated, but above and beyond any lodging experience we've ever had. Thank you Colin AND Best Western!!!!!!

« Very nice and wonderful staff. »

I was very impressed with how helpful the staff was. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. The room was clean with a comfortable bed, microwave, and small efficient refrigerator. There is also a small safe in the room to keep your valuables. They offered a wonderful continental breakfast, and the House Blend coffee was excellent.

    4
    « Clean and Friendly »

We found this Best Western to be clean and friendly with plenty of space inside and out. The furniture and room appointments were fresh and relatively new. The had an oversized room with a jacuzzi. The air conditioner/heater was among the quietest of any hotel I've stayed. The breakfast was good and well stocked and had an adequate seating area. My wife and I agreed it is a hotel we would recommend to value conscious friends.

« Clean, inexpensive hotel in Helen, GA »

This is an older property and is a little "tired." The rooms are clean and well equipped with a small refrigerator and microwave, but the rooms themselves feel more dated than other Best Westerns where I have stayed. On the plus side, the staff was pleasant and the breakfast offered a good variety featuring several hot entrees. I paid a little more and had a room on the back of the hotel that had a small private deck with good views of the mountains. The rooms along the sides of the property look onto the parking lot. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay for a night.

    « Fantastic Time »

I had a fantastic time on my stay at Best Western Plus in Helen, Ga. The breakfast food was great, the staff was very nice, my room was the cleanest I have seen in a very long time. The house keeping staff were super nice! I wish all house keeping staff of all hotels were as nice. The food at Big Daddy's was delicious. Helen, Ga is the place to be especially when you stay at The Best Western Plus!

    « The Best hotel »

This is the most absolute wonderful hotel to stay at. Has comfy beds, very spacious, and very clean. The staff here is very friendly. Also they have an amazing hot breakfast. Including eggs, waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausages and potatoes. I will definitely come back to this hotel. It's a great weekend getaway.

« Would definietly stay again! Rm 109! »

Stayed mid October to get away from hot Florida for a few days. Our room was very comfortable, absolutely LOVED the bed, linens and pillows. A/C/heat worked quietly and well. Breakfast and 24 hr coffee in lobby was the best and appreciated immensely by my husband. Room was clean but maid service a bit lacking one day-possibly due to being motel full the days we were there. Parking should be marked for each room, our spot was taken one night and we had to park way up front. I didn't find a list of TV channels and did not realize there was HBO until 2nd night but liked the "fresh remote". Wi-Fi worked fine. Just the right distance from "downtown" Helen. Walked up Main street every night and return walked the back street by the river-very relaxing walk. I called after returning home to try and find out more info on the mattress but only told it was a Sealy Pillowtop. Need more specific info than that. If anyone stays in rm 109 with 2 queen no smoking beds- I would appreciate someone reading the label or getting more info on the mattress. Wish I would have looked when I was there or been able to get more info by phone.

    « Nice Stay »

My daughter and I went to Helen for a short little get away form the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the property was quiet. We had a little balcony, which would have been lovely, had it not rained during our stay. We had a nice trip and the location was great. It's walking distance to the village, but since I had a small child, we didn't attempt the walk. Overall a nice hotel. I'd stay again.

    « Just okay »

My wife and I stayed here on Thursday November 5th. Check in was fine and we were into our room quickly. Within the first twenty minutes we had fixed their ever running toilet, turned on the refrigerator, and set their clock to the correct time. About 5 minutes later housekeeping opened up our door without knocking or announcing themselves. That was a little unnerving! The room temp was 84 degrees when we came in and took hours to get to a comfortable temperature and the fridge never got cold enough to be useful. The room did seem to be pretty clean and quiet. At least in regard to sounds from the outside. Any noises in the hall were very noticeable. The bed was comfortable and the balcony fairly roomy. The only other glitch was when out room keys stopped working at about 9 am the next morning. Luckily we hadn't both left the room at the same time (checkout was not til 11). All in all it is overpriced for what you get and we would not stay again. I

    « Suite was nice »

I'm not normally a motel fan. But based on reviews I booked a "suite". Our room is in the hotel section and it's very clean and above my expectations. Having the fridge and microwave is nice. The balcony allows you to sit outside. Good location. Friendly staff.

    « Way Overpriced »

We were in Helen for a wedding and stayed here because it was the hotel recommended by the wedding party. I understand that it was Oktoberfest, but under no circumstances was this room worth $200/night. It is an old motel. They have done the best with it that they can, but it has outside doors and our room overlooked a restaurant next door that has an outside bar. We could hear noise from it late into the night. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. The room was acceptable and clean. It was just way overpriced for what we got. We rented two rooms for 2 nights - for the $800 we spent, I wish we had looked into renting one of the many cabins available in the area.

    4
    « Stayed during OctoberFest »

Loved the fireplace in the room. The service was good and prompt. Enjoyed the location and scenery. I would go back there again. Only one problem was with the elevator, it was very hard to use and operate being on the out side of the bldg.

    « Great trip »

Went to Oktoberfest in Helen, GA-stayed at the Best Western-very clean room-loved the Jacuzzi! Staff was very helpful. Breakfast hit the spot! Lots to do in Helen-beer and wurst! Met folks from NC, TN and WA. Weather was terrific-great fall temps!

    « Octoberfest stay »

I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and am always very satisfied. The location is great, within walking distance to all of the shops and attractions. The staff always exceeds our expectations and the room is clean and well stocked. We will make this our first choice for Helen stays in the future.

    « Good Overnight Stay »

The room was large and had new carpet. It is in walking distance of downtown Helen, maybe 1/2 mile and next door to Bigg Daddy's. The sheets felt new and the air worked well. We had cereal the next morning for breakfast. I really have no complaints.

    5
« Great Location, Staff, and Accommodations »

Walking distance to shops, restaurants, entertainment, and play area. Very large variety of foods for breakfast, hot and cold. Cookies, cereal, and a nice selection of beverages all day. Eating area also has a sofa, comfortable chairs, and a fireplace. Friendly and very helpful staff, clean rooms and grounds. Regular hotel rooms as well as larger rooms that have a fireplace, sofa or Champagne tub, private outdoor sitting area. This is my third stay at this BW, once in each room style. A wheelchair elevator is available. Great for Oktoberfest in October and November, or tubing down the river! Only a couple miles out of town is the Nora Mill Granary (a must see, free). Nice get-away location any time of the year. Next door to two fun restaurants with a nice variety of good food: Celebrity and Bigg Daddy's. My only complaint is that the bed is so comfortable that once I overslept and missed the full breakfast buffet!

    « dissatisfied »

While being close to the center of town was a plus, rooms were not well maintained by staff. Ended up refreshing our room ourselves as maid service was extremely poor and would not have got to our room until possibly 6:00 pm

« Great Fall Get Away »

The BW hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. We walked over to Bigg Daddy's restaurant on our late arrival and very good drinks and food. Went to Anna Ruby Falls. What a beautiful walk and such a peaceful Place. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. You do have a short Drive into the town of Helen, Ga and have to pay $5 to park anywhere.

    5
    « Comfortable Hotel »

We enjoyed our stay, hotel was clean and comfortable, very reasonable. Great restaurant next door. Wish we could have seen the water but you could walk just across the street to a covered area to watch the stream running through the town.

    5
    « Great room »

Big clean rooms with a jacuzzi and a balcony? Done. Friendly staff, quality linens, and next door to Bigg Daddys. Will definitely visit again. There is even a fireplace (gas) which is a nice option when is chilly.

    « Great stay »

The staff was outstanding in providing me with information and making sure my accommodation where satisfactory; very polite and friendly. The rooms where nice and clean. The hotel is about 5 minutes away on foot with a brisk pace away from downtown which was great for me not having a car for the weekend. Great perk for me was the 24 hour enjoying my midnight bowl of cereal and enjoy a yogurt snack and fruit anytime. In the AM they have large complementary breakfast bar. ***FYI Traffic into town backs up for miles on the weekends. Plan to arrive and depart on another day if possible. Need a Taxi/tour guide? Alpine Taxi is the BEST! Tell them Donna from CA. sent you. 706-9695311

Made reservations for king size bed and sofa bed. No linens for hide abed, took 3 visits to front desk to get correct linens. Room looked a lot different from photo. Shower great, but ceiling needs to be repaired, air worked well. Breakfast was great with lots offered.
