    « The Last Visitors »

Sadly, they day after we stayed here the mean ole bulldozers were coming to destroy this landmark hotel. The Margarita-ville high rise chain will be coming next. Bigger is not better in my opinion. I stay for the atmosphere and Twin Island had it in plenty. The river wrapped around all sides of this hidden gem. You never have to get in your car again, walk to every Restaurant and shop from here. They served a REAL buffet breakfast for free! With a heavy heart we walked around the hotel by the river on the morning we left and possibly we may have been the last visitors to do so. High rises have ruined Panama City and now they are gunning for our beloved Gatlinburg. Goodbye Mom and Pops places, we will miss the warm atmosphere and memories.

« TOO BAD THEY ARE CLOSING!!! »

My favorite Hotel in Gatlinburg and they are closing!! I have been going here for over 15 years and had many fun times here! It will be hard to replace this place and the room we always asked for, #513!

    « No Vacancy ... »

Today is the last day for the Best Western Twin Islands. Our last day is their last day. Our family has stayed here for over 12 years while visiting Gatlinburg. The wonderful management and staff will be missed. Thank you for always giving us a great nights rest and making us feel welcome. If you never got a chance to stay at this incredible place you have missed a wonderful experience. I am truly heartbroken and will miss this wonderfully unique hotel in the mountains. The Halls.

    « Closed forever »

We have been coming to this hotel for over 25 years. Whenever possible we get accommodations in the Mountain House building of this hotel. It is more spacious then your standard room and you pay the same price. We like the location and although this hotel is showing its age the owners have kept it as updated as possible. We were so sad to hear that this hotel will be closing on November 27th and the property will "possibly" become a Margaritaville. As we talked to some of the staff, most said the hotel was going to be demolished. At this point we would just like to tell all the staff what a pleasure it has been to stay here. Although many people will be jobless in a few days they still continued to give us great service. Hats off to everyone at Twin Islands. We will definitely miss you.

    « Employee lied »

The Internet would not work when I call the Desta reported the girl told me that they had a technician there working on it the next morning I'll call best Western technical support and I was told that it had not been reported there was no one working on it and the reason I didn't have Internet was my room was too far from the router . I feel my trip to the smoky mountains was interfered with I was unable to find another room or place to stay but I was also unable to work therefore I lost three days pay

    « Nice, Upgraded, Convenient »

We stayed here for our 2nd Honeymoon. Great little hotel, easy access to everything. It's been remodeled and nicely done (fireplace is a definite plus)! We had some issues with our Heater the 1st night (in the low 20's), thankfully the fireplace kept us warm kinda. But, management had us fixed before the next night. Overall good place to stay downtown.

« Wash Hands before handling food »

The breakfast was going ok until we noticed the guy refilling the breakfast food was emptying the trash cans, checked the coffee pots and then into the kitchen area to put out more food, never seen him wash his hands, very disgusting!

    « Christmas shopping »

Great room for the price, very clean, With a fire place, jacuzzi tub, and within walking distance of everything. Nice hot breakfast with a variety to choose from. Cleaned the room daily on the visit. Friendly staff

    « Disgusted and unhappy »

This place is so nasty. Dusty in behind beds and all over curtains. Floors were filthy. So out dated. Dark and gloomy. Stinks in room. It appeared to be blood on pillow. Cigarette burns on side of tub. Never would have dreamed this with Best Western. So disappointed.

    « Great location »

The location was absolutely perfect for a Gatlinburg trip. The hotel is close to everything. A complete breakfast is served (breads, coffee, juices, egg, oatmeal, etc.) and the staff is very friendly.

    « Short Notice/Great Stay »

Husband and I were traveling... much needed alone road trip....fall color watching....and I missed our turn on the Blue Ridge Parkway!! Just so happens we had not been in Gatlinburg in years! Called Best Western praying they had an availability !! (You don't find that too often in the mountain areas during fall color season!) One room left !! The good Lord was with us! Great stay, close to everything we needed for the evening! Even got the husband to take an "ole time photo" with me!!

    5
    « Very enjoyable stay »

Nicely renovated, very comfortable bed with great pillows, shower had strong water pressure and we have a private balcony. Very cozy. I'd recommend this place and stay again. Also right on the Gatlinburg strip!

    4
« Great location! So sad it's closing later this month. »

This was our first and, sadly, our last opportunity to stay at this hotel. The location was absolutely ideal for a Gatlinburg get-away at a very reasonable price. The hotel does show it's age but also shows efforts to renovate and improve along the way. The couple that runs the free complimentary breakfast was so wonderful and it's extremely sad to know that their twenty years of serving a hearty breakfast to guests at this location are soon coming to an end. The hotel is set to close down on the 27th of this month (November 27th, 2016) at which time it will be demolished to make room for the new Margaritaville of Gatlinburg. The Margaritaville in Pigeon Forge is definitely impressive and I'm sure it'll be great. However, I'm sad to see some of the small, more classic, hotels of Gatlinburg being replaced.

    « Good night stay! »

Had to stay a week for a workshop at Arrowmont. Location was convenient to all the amenities of Gatlinburg. Staff was friendly and courteous. Wish we could have had our dog with us to save on kenneling fees.

    5
« Heads up Folks! this hotels last day in business is the 27th of novemeber! »

An icon of days gone by in Gatlinburg this hotel will be closing its doors forever on November 27th! Guess it wont need updating anymore after this! Stream views etc this hotel was an icon built in another Era of boom town days of Gatlinburg.

    5
« Great place to stay downtown with shopping, close to Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Seiversville »

Full hot breakfast was really good.Had room 405 king room very roomy, bathroom area roomy! Loved the room and close to office, quite. Had a patio, on the river, beautiful! Located on the main drag within walking distance to many attractions and eating areas. Employees are very nice and helpful, would be a great place to work! Nicely decorated inside and out for the season.

    4
« Only rooms with view of stream are worth the stay »

If you can't get one of those rooms (which stay booked year round) the location is overpriced and difficult to get in and out. If you're walking and in shape it's great for Gatlinburg. If you're not accustomed to walking don't try it here it's more of a trek than it seems.... Especially the way back

    5
    « Very good »

Enjoyed our King bedroom and our full breakfast at the hotel. Very clean and loved the room..only complaint was the awful uncomfortable sitting chairs if you watch TV ...but told at office they could use a nice sitting for TV in room/suite. Other than that it was great.

    4
    « Smoky mountain retreat »

Great location if your visiting the Gatlinburg area. Located as you get into the town on the main drag. Within walking distance of many attractions and eateries. Our room 426 was right on the river with a patio that was relaxing to sit and watch the river. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. Nice Mexican restaurant next door. Beautiful setting decorated for fall season. Enjoyed our stay

    3
    « Disappointed »

Hotel is very dated and in need of updates. Our room was advertised as overlooking the river. The river is a small winding stream behind the hotel that was a bed of mud due to a drought which is not their fault, however our room smelled musty and we had to run the AC the entire time we stayed in the room to remove the odor. The tile floor at the entryway of our room was dirty and the bathroom floor as well. Continental breakfast choices are very limited and breakfast room is not appealing. We spent most of our time out of the room touring Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and basically stayed here only to sleep. I thought it was overpriced for what it offers. Disappointed in this Best Western, a brand we have booked many times and have been pleased with.

    « Big letdown »

Twin Islands was a huge disappointment. Small and dirty bathroom. Uncomfortable bed. Always liked Best Western Hotels and tries to book them if available in the area. Very disappointed with this one. Tasteless breakfast. Noisy neighbors. need to soundproof door between rooms.

    1
    « Hugely Disappointed »

I cannot rate this hotel based on the rooms as they messed up our reservation. I took my handicap father and my three children. I am the caretaker for them all and called them specifically asking for connecting or side by side rooms. When we arrived...they had us on opposite floors and opposite sides. Of course this wouldn't work...what if my dad needed something in the middle of the night? The front staff did try to find other options for me and even called other hotels, but after a long day of driving...I just had to leave!

    3
    « Very dated hotel »

The bed was very comfortable. I think the room was over priced. It is in need of an update drastically. Be careful I was double billed on my charge card I called and the service rep at the hotel was very nice and said that it was a mistake and could see that the refund had already been issued and it could take 7-10 days to show as a credit. It was clean but not worth the price.

    5
    « Twin Islands »

Very clean, friendly and well ran hotel. Will stay here again. The hotel campus is amazing. Nice playground and super breakfast is all included. Walking distance to a lot of shops and food. Office staff was very professional. We stayed on the river so our view was to be seen in a post card

« Fall Trip to Gatlinburg »

I have always wanted to stay here but it was always booked or the rooms were more than my budget. This year I was able to book early and got a great deal. I was not disappointed, we had a great time. The breakfast was great and everything was kept full. This hotel is within easy walking distance to many attractions and restaurants in Gatlinburg. It is also easy to get to Pigeon Forge by trolley that runs right next to the hotel.

    4
« Near the heart of Gatlinburg and it's shopping and restuarants »

Great place to stay for families. Has a nice playground for the kids and a pool with hot tub. you can walk off the property and you're in the edge of the shopping area, restaurants and attractions. Rooms vary in size amenities. The breakfast is typical and adequate ( the eggs could be improved on). The chairs in the rooms should be more comfortable. The room rates are a little high for what you get.

    4
    « Home made »

I reviewed this BW after we visited in August. I left out one important fact about the breakfast. The breakfast biscuits are made from scratch from an old family recipe of the local cook. They are very fresh and very good.

    3
« Nice for being in Town »

This was great for location to activities in town. The checking in / out process fine. I would have liked to see a pricing sheet posted. When looking to stay an extra day, staff had to call over the manager and then she suggested the price. Pricing was average. The bathrooms need to be clean better. Overall it was ok. Bring you own sundries.

    4
    « Anniversary Trip »

Location was great for walking the Parkway and getting to the Craft Loop. Didn't use the balcony but would have like to have a better view than the backside of the Mexican restaurant, maybe a mural or trees?

    4
« Clean Hotel; Close to Gatlinburg »

Clean mattresses. Very large room. Lovely property and close to downtown Gatlinburg without being in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of everything. You can definitely walk the entire street from here and not have to pay the downtown parking fee. Free breakfast. Not the most soundproof room however. I would definitely return!

    « Best Western Twin Islands---Gatlinburg tn. »

Comfortable and along a stream to see ducks and geese. At the near end of town and near the Aquarium. Have stayed here many times over the years.. Even though tey now have a free breakfast, we get the discount coupon for the Atrium restaurant across the street for the food and waterfall view.

    « Not the best »

Very disappointed with this hotel, especially after spending a night in the best western in Winchester, VA. The front desk staff was not at all friendly, not a smile in the bunch. When we go to the room and found out that the dead bolt was not working. The following morning I went to the desk to report it along with the fact that there was no shampoo (good thing I always bring my own, just in case.) The shampoo came right away, but no work done on the lock. 3 days later the dead bolt still had not been repaired. We were also told when we checked in that we should try to get back early if we were going out since they don't have enough parking spaces for every room (really???). The room itself was clean, but only one chair and no light on the desk. Would not book this best western again.

    3
    « Adequate »

We stayed here for a night before a hiking trip in the mountains. This isn't the worst hotel I have stayed in but is also far from the best. The location of the hotel is great. It is right next to the aquarium (which was on our agenda) and walking distance to everything on the strip. The staff in the lobby were nice, the room had a refrigerator and a microwave and breakfast was included, which are all positives. There are two entrances to the parking lot and we entered via the 'back' entrance. I did not feel the signs were adequate telling us where to go to check in and park. The room itself was decent size. The furnishings are worn for sure and the door to the bathroom did not close. The room had a very bad odor, my guess is that the room had previously allowed smoking and there was some sort of heavy air freshener to try to cover it up. No, I did not report this to the front desk as we didn't have time to change rooms (the only solution I think there might have been) as we were meeting friends who had driven in just to spend a few hours with us. The other thing I thought was odd is that there was a envelope for tips prominently displayed in our room and a big pitcher begging for tips in the breakfast room. I thought this was incredibly tacky. The breakfast was ok - coffee was good, they had powdered eggs some pastries, juice, yogurt. There was a bowl of fruit but it looked a little sad. The layout of the hotel is interesting in that there are several buildings around the property. It looks like there used to be a creek running along several of the rooms but that is dried up. There were very nice fall decorations all over the resort which I really enjoyed. So.....not the worst place ever, not the best. It was ok for what we needed, just a stopping point on a longer trip. If I were going to be staying in Gatlinburg for longer, I would look elsewhere.

« Very Nice Deluxe King Suite »

We enjoyed our stay in Honeymoon Island in a Deluxe King Suite. The staff that we encountered (check in/out) were helpful. The room was very clean, and had a nice jacuzzi tub. The only problem that I had was that we were promised a balcony overlooking the river, but it was really just a door to the outside sidewalk that you could walk by and look over the retaining wall. It was not very private either. There was a nice old man sitting there reading the paper every single time we went out....awkward! The part of the river that came through was also just a puddle and some rocks. : ( Overall though, it really was a nice room.

    5
    « Weekend trip »

Thoroughly was pleased with our stay. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was provided and was simple but good. Would definitely stay there again!

    4
    « Honeymoon island getaway »

It is what it is. You're not going to do much better for a hotel on the north end of the Gatlinburg strip. We stay here every year around our wedding anniversary, preferring to stay in a part of the property called 'honeymoon island'. You really can't go wrong with room 411. It has a balcony overlooking a dried up creek bed. Yep, that's the only negative here. If you're looking for a hotel overlooking a running creek, look elsewhere because the water level here had gotten lower and lower every year. Kinda sad really, having a nice balcony overlooking boulders and rocks. We miss feeding the ducks swimming by our balcony.. oh well, this room has two cozy queen beds and a remodeled bathroom since our last stay. Room is always clean and the beds and pillows are heavenly. Expect to pay $130+ per night during peak season.

    4
    « Center attraction »

Stayed here for our honeymoon and have returned for the past 17 years. It is in the center of everything and the décor makes you feel of being part of everything. The honeymoon island is something to look into for people just starting out.

    4
« Quiet and comfortable amid the craziness of Gatlinburg »

Somehow this hotel is quite considering the very busy street just out the front door. It is situated between two little rivers. The rooms are not extraordinary, but very clean, and large. Good towels. Nice little swimming pool.

    5
    « smokey base camp »

this is the place to stay if you need a room at the base of the mountain, and want to spend a few days visiting the mountains .The free breakfast may make you want to have a nap they have lots of good stuff to eat . Its a good hotel and location for the price

    4
    « Good for Our Two-night Stay »

We recently stayed for two nights at this hotel. The location has very convenient access to restaurants and attractions in Gatlinburg, including entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The property seemed to be an older one, but it was well kept. The room size was fine, although the bathroom was a bit small. The room was clean, and we had no problems with any of the amenities in the room. The front desk and cleaning crew were friendly, helpful, and provided good service. Free breakfast included the typical hot/cold fare found at most Best Westerns. All in all, it was a good stay!

« Great hotel in the middle of the action »

This hotel is located in the middle of the strip in Gatlinburg. It is convenient to all of the shopping, restaurants, and activities. The staff is always helpful and kind. The awesome breakfast is a great way to start the day.

    5
    « Clean and Comfortable »

Fantastic room with comfortable bed. Very clean and tidy. Staff was all very helpful and cheery. Right next to Ripley's Aquarium and all the attractions in Gatlinbur are within a few minutes walk. Highly recommend you give them a shot.

    4
    « Older but clean »

I stayed with my daughter for soccer tourney. Skeptical when I drove up because it is an older facility. However, the rooms are dry clean and have comfortable beds. The regular rooms are small, but for overnight it was fine. Office staff was great! When we made resist ly one night was available and we needed two. They kept us on a waiting list and called us when we were an hour away today they had a cancellation. They put us II a newly renovated king bed room that had a fireplace. It was very roomy and comfy. I would suggest these rooms...that are on what they call. Honeymoon Island. However, they are appropriate for any couples or parent and child. This isn't luxury but they do their best to create a clean, welcoming environment despite the age of the facility, Plus, it is a great location and has a clean pool and modern playground.

« Wonderful place to stay »

My husband and I decided to take a last minute trip to Gatlinburg before he started his new job. We are so glad we got a room here! I've stayed in other area hotels and this one outshines them by leaps and bounds. Wonderful staff, beautiful rooms and a great location. We planned on going to the Ripley's Aquarium and it's right next across from the hotel. The trolley stops near by and it's walking distance from everything. The free breakfast is excellent and everyone is super friendly. There is something for everyone to eat. You can fill up before heading out for the day and it's included in the price of your stay. This is now our choice of hotels when we visit.

    5
« Always a wonderful place to stay! »

We stayed here recently for our anniversary. We love the people and the location. So close to "the strip" you can walk and not worry about parking. We enjoy the riverwalk around the hotel. We love staying on "The honeymooners Island" It is very peaceful and quiet. The rooms seemed to have recently been remodeled and it was very clean and bright. The wifi is a little slow, but we don't really mind since we are there to unplug and relax. Mike the maintenance man was very helpful when we returned after a long day and couldn't find any parking. He found us a spot close to our room! It's helpful, friendly staff like Mike that make us return every time we go to Gatlinburg!

    « Trip to Gatlinburg »

A little pricey for very average accommodations. House cleaning out in front of our door - very noisy - there for hours. ? Otherwise a decent place to stay. Very tight parking. Nice picnic table in back of motel.

    3
« LOCATION IS GOOD THATS ABOUT IT »

location is good but an extremely noisy place cannot sleep if u are staying on the lower lever room the rooms on the upper lever all night with people footsteps thudding and u end up being awake so i just felt i wasted spending 395 $ for 3 NIGHTS with no peace

    « Hotel Aguar Azul »

It was a very nice hotel and the staff were wonderful. The food was excellent. The pool area was very good, but could have done with more sun beds. Our rooms were cleaned everyday and overall we had a lovely holiday and would return again.

    « Pleasantly surprised! »

With the prior mixed reviews I wasn't sure what to expect! My husband and I haven't been away alone since our honeymoon. I decided to book twin islands because it was close enough to walk to the Gatlinburg strip but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. When we arrived I took another reviewers advice and asked for an updated room. The lady at the desk said they had all been updated finally so no worries. We were told our room was in honeymoon island. When we went in we were in shock as they so nicely upgraded our room free of charge to a jacuzzi suite! The room was extremely clean, the bed was comfortable, and the jacuzzi was a nice addition. The only hard part was finding a parking spot close to your room if you came in late. That wasn't the hotels fault though, they were totally booked when we were there and there were a few bigger trucks that took up 2 spaces. We had a great time and we will return!

« Always Clean and nice. Very Friendly staff. »

Great River view rooms good parking. Stayed here many times and they have not failed our expiations yet. Great Location last time there we were there a week and never moved car. In walking distance of all.

« Didn't expect all the perks of this suite »

We found the reviews were very good for this place in Gatlinburg and saw a great price for the time we wanted to stay. So we tried the Best Western Hotel. We sure are glad we did. The location was perfect for the trolley ride and within waking distance of downtown. Our room was superb and even had 2 TV's which we didn't expect. Nice comfortable beds. The rooms were very clean. We will certainly stay here again on our next visit.

    5
« The clean, nice and good beds to sleep on. »

We have been staying at this Best Western now for 4 years and love it. I take my kids and grand kids every year. They love it and enjoy the pool. Friendly host and all round easy place to get in and out of.

    3
« Not as nice as last time »

We have stayed here 3 times over the past 15 years, but this will be our last time. The room was slightly humid even though the A.C. was on. The bathroom fan barely seemed to be working. My wife banged into the granite sink top when we first entered the room, leaving a painful bruise.(The sink is RIGHT there and it's hard not to hit it when you walk in.) Very cramped sink/toilet area. Room didn't have enough lights and it didn't help that the walls are painted dark red. Not as nice as the room we had there 10 years ago. We did enjoy the swimming pool and hot tub out side. Good breakfast provided free, great location to downtown with a stream in back with ducks!

    3
    « Not great/not bad »

Facility obviously puts a great deal of effort into landscaping, but low water level made "island" stream kind of grubby looking. Staff wasn't rude, but not particularly friendly, either. Exception: Breakfast lady was VERY nice. Ramp to upstairs rooms was too steep to comfortably navigate. I even had to help another guest in a wheelchair to get up the ramp. Property is very convenient to the beauty of the park and the kitsch of Gatlinburg.

    5
    « Another great stay! »

This the second time we have stayed here. It was better than the first! We loved our room! The beds are so comfy! The room so quite. We slept so well! The location is great. You can walk the main drag in Gatlinburg. It's just minutes from Pigeon Forge! We will be back!

    5
    « Good location/great continental breakfast »

Stayed the weekend at this hotel in Gatlinburg Tennessee. Good location and good continental breakfast. The room we booked with book it.com was not available, so they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom apartment. It's a little dated but clean. Worth the money. It's near the beginning of the Gatlinburg strip. But the shuttle only charges 50 cents or 2 dollars for an all day pass. Went to Jose's cantina. Great food. Leo the bartender was great.

    5
    « Good »

I did not care for the hot breakfast offerings and I do not eat sweets for breakfast. I needed a boiled egg as an option. Also, we needed a comfortable chair in the room to sit in to read. Otherwise, it was clean and comfortable.

    5
« it was wonderful stay »

it was a wonderful stay.Really like the location. We stay here often. The location is great. We love the pool and hot tub. The rooms are always clean and well stocked. The breakfast is always hot and very good. The women in the kitchen are always very nice and helpful.

« "Great place to stay!" »

We had a room on Honeymoon Island. The room was huge and very nice! We had a very comfy king size bed and our own balcony. The price is very reasonable too. The pool area is great. The property was well kept. It's an easy walk to everything on the strip, no need to worry about finding parking when you go out.

    « Our vacation »

My wife and I take our vacation in gatlinburg Tenn and for the past two years we have stayed at the best western twin island. The employes at the front desk are very professional and friendly. The complmintry breakfast is really good and the rooms are very clean. The maids do a great job and are very friendly. Hope to see them again next year.

    « Good stay »

The room was comfortable nothing luxurious not too clean. Bathroom is huge. I stayed in a suite with a small balcony facing a running creek but there are buildings right across to ruin the view. Fake fireplace that doesn't work, small fridge, daily housekeeping. The location is perfect. All attractions are nearby. Continental breakfast every morning. The staff was not too friendly. That was a big turnoff. No matter what shift, they were not nice. Not helpful either, never gave us tourist info. It has a pool and barbecue grills available. I enjoyed the stay. I'm not one of those picky guys so I get used to things. I would stay there again just for the location and the price.

« Good location...not so good other things »

The location was very good. Located basically at the end of the strip in Gatlinburg. Easy walking distance to most attractions. This BW is made up of multiple groups of rooms. We stayed in Trout Haven. Nice that is was next to the mountain stream. Had an ant problem. Left a wrapper on the light stand. When we came back there were ants all over the place. Told the desk clerk and the response was that it is normal in the mountains. Seemed a bit dirty. Carpet was a bit old and had a musky odor. Did notice when they were cleaning the rooms many of the sheets were laying outside the rooms and on the sidewalks and parking lots. Seemed weird to me. Sounds like the experience was all bad but basically we were not staying there to experience the hotel...we wanted to experience Gatlinburg. This place is good and convenient for that purpose. BTW...People were basically friendly.

« Central to Downtown Gatlinburg »

Stayed two nights on a Motorcycle tour of the Gatlinburg area including the Tail of the Dragon. Twin Islands was a very interesting place. Seems like a normal downtown location until you drive through the archway and you enter a park like setting with a pool, playground, running creeks, etc. A bit of an oasis in the busy downtown Gatlinburg. Very convenient for walking the downtown area with lots of restaurants, shops and such, with no need for you to get back in your car (or motorcycle). Room was large and clean with refrigerator and microwave, and a balcony overlooking the creek out back. Picnic area was a nice place for a glass of our own wine after doing the downtown areas. Nice hot and cold breakfast items in spacious breakfast room.

« A nice relaxing vacation in the Smokies »

The hotel , even being a few years old was very well kept . Staff was outstanding and always willing to help . The free breakfast was better than average . The view from the balcony was great . The wife loved the running stream . We walked to any place we wanted to visit in Gatlinburg . We will be going back next year .

« Clean, Comfortable, Close to Smokies »

Best Western Twin Islands motel is a great place to stay in Gatlinburg. It is on Parkway, which leads into one of the major entrances to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Parkway has all the family attractions: Ripleys Aquarium, Museum, etc, Guinness Book Museum, eateries, etc. Bed mattresses are thick, supportive, and comfortable. There is a sink in the bathroom and another sink outside the bathroom. The lamps have extra outlets for charging devices. The toilet paper is not ultra thin - which is good. At the window, the curtain above the heater/air conditioner is short so it doesn't block the vent when you want privacy. The shower head is large and variable.

« Relaxing time and Rod Run/Shades of the Past car show. »

Our stay couldn't have been better. We our 14 year old granddaughter with us. we had a great time of swimming and relaxing in the hot tub after a day of looking at cars and shopping. Then driving thru Cades Cove plus going to the Ripley's Believe it or Not Aquarium. There was so much to do and see.

    « What a joke »

Tiny room, bathroom was tiny, tiny. Booked a two-queen room and got a two-full bed room. When I asked for an adjustment on the tiny beds vs queen beds they said no. Wi-Fi was off our first day and only intermittent our second day. Front desk agents gave wrong information about password once Wi-Fi started working again, so still couldn't use Wi-Fi. This so called 'island' hotel is basically a worn-out bunch of decrepit rooms with a mostly dry creek bed around it. Dead trees were in abundance. Room's floor was sticky. Smelled bad and the TV signal was poor. Front Desk agents were lackluster and not very helpful. Would never go back to this hotel again and will think twice before I book a stay at another Best Western.

    « 25th Anniversary stay »

The location of the hotel was great, right on the strip. However, this is an older hotel with rooms that have not been updated in some time it appears. The first room that we were given-reservation- was so old and dark that I was in tears. We ended up in a Jacuzzi suite with a very small balcony over the creek and ended up being somewhat satisfied with the stay. Their breakfast was good and had excellent service there. The room was clean and the maid service was excellent.

« Great place in the Smokies »

We've stayed the Twin Island's for many years and have always enjoyed it. The front desk workers actually know us by name. Very friendly, and we've never gotten a dirty room. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great priced hotel and great rooms. Comfy beds, beautiful view, plenty of ducks to sit and feed and enjoy. It's an all around pleasant and relaxing place to stay in the heart of the Smokies!

« Great location, friendly staff. »

No frills but good deal for the money. Located in the heart of Gatlinburg near RIpley's Aquarium. It's an older property but they have kept it upgraded like flat panel TV's, furniture updates and free in-room WiFi. The biggest surprise for being an older property was that the rooms looked and actually smelled clean (not musty). The staff was very friendly and attentive, although some needed to be a little updated on types of places to eat close to the property. We visit Gatlinburg often and knew more about restaurants and attractions better than the staff -- but we won't hold that against them. They were very attentive and friendly to our needs and requests. The breakfast buffet was as good as some that I have had at other brand properties like Marriott. It was a very hot August weekend and thankfully our room stayed very cool. The biggest issue we had was that you could not deflect the cold steady air blowing from the air unit directly at the beds, which got a little cold and annoying when trying to sleep at night -- tried to build a wall of pillows to help deflect the blowing air but didn't do much good. But, we cannot complain because it was hot outside and our room stayed very cool. We did have "thunder-foot" staying in the room above us, so if the noise of people walking loudly across their room at weird hours of the night bothers you, I suggest getting an upper floor, end room. We stayed in a ground floor room in the Honeymoon Island building (yes, all of their buildings had cleaver nicknames), so there were not as many rooms as in some of the other buildings . We just lucked out that weekend with a very loud-walking guest above us. The back exit drive was a good, and an easier way, to leave the complex onto the main Parkway. However, during peak traffic times, whether main entrance or back drive, do not attempt to make a left turn onto the Parkway. You are better off taking a right, then turn right into the Aquarium entrance at the traffic light, and then make a u-turn back to the traffic light. It takes a lot less time and will not leave you and other drivers behind you frustrated. Overall, this is a good choice for the money. If you are expecting a luxury 4* property, this place is not for you. But, if you are looking for clean, comfortable property in a great location to downtown places, this is a good place to stay.

    « Twin Islands »

Fairly decent hotel, great staff, clean. Cons are small rooms and dated fixtures. For a tall guy like myself, the bathroom was extremely small. The room was way too small for two queen beds. The balcony is ok, overlooking the water, but you share it with everybody in the building, no privacy.

« My Trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee »

I enjoyed our stay at Twin Islands, The creek was very nice. The employees were very nice. I loved the breakfast area and the lovely lady that was over the breakfast area. She is an outstanding employee wonderful person in Public Relations. I recommend Twin Islands for people who love to hear the creek and also because it is right in town, you can walk or ride. But remember if you drive your car in town you will have to pay $3.00 to $10.00 to park. They have parking lots every where. It is beautiful country, go enjoy and relax, and have fun. So much to see and so many places to go and you can take beautiful pictures. Life is beautiful . Go enjoy yourself as I did.

    « Only ok »

We decided to stay here for my birthday. For the price we expected a very nice room not one with 70,s style paneling. Advert says river view but patio had no outside lighting and view includes the back of old run down buildings. The river was down there but you had to go sit on a retaining wall to see it. Decent shower and TV but all in all not worth the price. I'll look for a different hotel next time. The pillows were horrible like round hard balls.

    « Lovely hotel »

Pretty hotel. Our room has a patio and we are right on the Baskins Creek. Very comfortable bed. Room has nice decor. Only problem has nothing to do with the hotel. We had to drive through two other towns to get here and the traffic was horrible!

« Great location and a very good hotel. »

Stayed 2 nights and the rooms are clean and good sized. Pool area is great and well maintained. Breakfast is included and was about what's expected, plenty of variation and plenty on hand, but the lady server (Anne I think) lifted it to another level. She really does a great job. Location is excellent and all of the strip is easily walkable. All in all a very good place to stay and I am happy to recommend it.

    4
    « Great location »

This hotel is within walking distance to the entire Gatlinburg strip. I call Gatlnburg the boardwalk of the Smokies. My teenagers thoroughly enjoyed being able to walk up and down the strip. The hotel is literally across the street from the aquarium. It is also convenient to the National Park and Dollywood. The room was what you would expect from a Best Western, acceptable, nice. The continental breakfast was also acceptable, but nothing to write home about. But, if you want a good breakfast, Gatlinburg is known for it's plethora of pancake houses, again all within walking distance.

Our room in this hotel is really big. It is more like a suite. they have a free breakfast every morning and very friendly employees! It is close enough to a lot of attractions that you can walk too We would stay here again

    « Quiet rooms »

The hotel has several different buildings. We were in an older one, but the shared balcony overlooked the creek and it was off of the main drag enough to have quiet rooms. The staff were great and very helpful - both at the front desk and at breakfast.

« Nice room, Good location »

The hotel is close enough to the action, but far enough away to be an oasis of calm in this lively town. The room was large and comfortable, with the bonus of a tub in the bedroom! It was nice to have an area to sit outside, by the river and enjoy the sun. Breakfast was the usual buffet choices, but always well stocked. Definitely recommended.

    4
    « Rooms were clean »

Nice hotel to stay on vacation, Beds too soft for me but rest of family liked. Will use Best Western again next trip. Good value for money spent. Tourist taxes and city taxes greatly increase cost of rooms.

« Perfect Hotel in Gatlinburg »

Stayed 1 night while in Gatlinburg! The room was a King Suite and HUGE!! Perfectly located with everything in easy walking distance. Balcony overlooking the creek was beautiful, and a great place to sit and relax after a day of sightseeing. Bed was incredibly comfortable, room was spotless and service outstanding. It doesn't get much better! Would definitely recommend for anyone spending time in the Smoky Mountains!

    « Location is perfect »

I've stayed at this hotel a few times. It has a really nice little walkway around the water right in the center of town. Super nice little playground for kids and the pool is ok too. The rooms are clean for the most part. The first time I stayed my room was closer to the office and it was much cleaner but it was never "dirty" by any means. Our remote to our TV messed up and they sent a guy up immediately with a brand new remote. It's just a really nice place to stay located right in the middle of Gatlinburg on the strip.

    5
    « Motorcycle trip »

The best hotel in Gatlinburg. This was my third time staying there. It's never a disappointment . Close to local shops and restaurants .the rooms on the river are great . Sit out on your balcony and listen to the sound or the river while you are unwinding from the day.

    « underwhelmed »

Upon arrival we were told our room was on the first floor. We had trouble finding it when we got back to our assigned building because it was on the second floor. There was no coffee maker in the room. The refrigerator was warm and dripping. The cable box was unplugged. The free wifi in our building Fisherman's Cove was spotty at best. Don't believe our queen room actually had queen beds. Smallest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel.

We spent one night here and it was a good for the one night. We had a double queen room. It was clean and really had no complaints about the room. The breakfast was OK. My family enjoyed sitting out on the balcony overlooking the creek. I would recommend this hotel.

« Great Place to stay! »

Property location is great. The creek surrounds the entire property. I really enjoyed seeing the ducks every morning. You can walk to everything uptown, shopping and restaurants. The room was kinda small but we did t need much room. The hotel is very clean, had a professional staff and had a wonderful breakfast that encluded eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy and all the usual cold items as well. Iwould highly recommend.

    « Best view »

The Hotel was large and very nice. The breakfeast was delicious, and the hotel was not located in the very busy part of town which was great. I highly recommend the fishermans cove because it had beautiful waterfront porches and your not facing any other hotels.STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

    3
    « Just ok »

I would stay again if I had a room on the far end where I was not looking at the back of stores across the creek. My wife says she would not stay there again. Your socks got dirty walking on the carpet. There was brown all along where the tub met the floor tile. It is and older hotel and looks good on the outside but the rooms need a good makeover. We enjoyed walking along the creek. I marked average in the rating, I would not call it poor but it is below average from the other places we stayed on this trip.

    4
    « A very nice stay »

We had a very nice stay no complaints. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The beds and pillows are comfy. The water pressure is great just slow draining. The A/C works nicely. Our particular room was a bit small but the balcony overlooking the creek was very pleasant. They let us have a late checkout because we slept in and we did not make it to breakfast so idk about that. Overall a very pleasant stay and we will definitely return!

« Great room for family of 5 (including 2 teenagers) »

We recently spent 2 nights here. We were able to get a special room that had a main bedroom with a king or queen bed, plus in the outer room bunk beds that were full size beds on both levels. This was big enough for the parents, plus the 16, 13 and 11 year old, who all seem to need more bed space. It also had a full kitchen, full bath, plus a powder room. Breakfast was decent, rate was great for the amount of space. Only downside was the wifi was out both days. I don't know about the other rooms, but this room was great for our family. And close to the Smokies.

    5
    « stayed 2 nights three days »

The motel was extremely clean and nice. the breakfast was also very nice. Full breakfast bar. The rooms were clean and neat upon arrival. The motel I stayed at before was two down and was not near as good as this one. The pool was noisy around mid day till late afternoon due to kids but I am use to that. At dark the area was fairly quiet even considering how close to the main street we were. The creek out back was dry but still I enjoyed watching guys fish up above the dry spots.

« Fun in the swimming pool »

We had a few nights here in Gatlinburg and were happy to stay at the Best Western. We booked a fireplace suite which was perfect as it meant our daughter had plenty of space to play and there was a good sized fridge in the room. The swimming pool is nice and didn't get too busy during our stay. This hotel is in a good location for accessing the national park, plus it's close to everything else in Gatlinburg.

    4
    « Good stay »

The room was small but if was clean and comfortable. We stopped and walked in rather than prebooked and they were very accommodating to look for a ground floor with good parking for our motorcycle. They also were able to meet the online pricing just by my showing it on my phone.

« Nice stay at Agua Azul »

Nice updated hotel very clean. However some things that may need to be improved would be the glass to the toilet is completely see through which is a bit awkward when not with your partner. Needless to say when with a friend would of liked a little more privacy! Food was average was impressed at first but if your on the all inclusive pacjage as with most places it does get a little repetitive. Pool was lovely although you have to be up early to secure a bed.

« Nice hotel on river »

Love this hotel. Every room has a good view of the Little Pigeon River, and each room seems more privately located than other hotels. Guest rooms aren't so close to each other. The room was very comfortable with very comfy beds. My whole family liked the soft beds Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice.

    « Great Location & Breakfast »

For a one night stay this hotel was just fine - the room was a little musty, and we could hear everything in the room above us, however the room was huge which was nice for our family of four. The location/accessibility to downtown was perfect and the hotel was quiet for being so close to the action on a busy summer Friday night in Gatlinburg. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was really good.

« Very impressed with this hotel »

After reading other reviews on this hotel there obviously was refurbishing going on. I stayed at this hotel on 14th July all inclusive this hotel has changed considerably. Outside appearance was clean fresh white painted. Receptionist ladies spoke good English and very helpful. Room was very modern new beds very comfortable cleaned and fresh towels everyday. I didn't like the glass toilet door no privacy there or the glass diviidor from bedroom to shower area we kept bumping into this during the night not a big problem but I could see how others might protest.TV wasn't working we got it retuned only 1 English discovery Channel if you want to spend your holiday watching tv. Pool area was very clean just could do with more sun loungers and maybe a few bigger bins for holiday makers to put their rubbish into.Good choice of English food throughout the day never felt hungry and food was labelled what it was, only ice cream was the small tubs if you wanted ice lollies you had to pay for them?? .Bar staff do know how to give you large measures very friendly and did try to understand our needs. Very central hotel walking distance to lots of lovely shops. Harbour area was a little further walking but nice to view. About 10 mins walking to the lovely clean beach. For the more able person it was 25 mins walking to the entertainment area. Would stay again and would recommend this hotel to others. Good value for what we paid.

    4
    « Old but peaceful »

Motel is aging and the breakfast is terrible. However, the river is peaceful and the hotel has plenty of parking and is a easy walk to the attractions. I not recommend the rooms with a hot tub as the tubs are old and not worth the added expense.

    5

    « Great vacation »

My family and I spent nearly a week at Best Western Twin Islands in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We were lucky enough to stay in the apartment over the office area. It is quite a climb up several flight of stairs but well worth it. Great parkway views. Twin Islands has the most comfortable beds in town. Great staff. Very clean!

    « Great Location »

This was our first time staying at a Best Western. It exceeded my expectations of all of our needs. Photos on website does not do justice. We rented the deluxe queen suite and it was very spacious as the pictures show all beds, love seat, chairs, etc in one room. This was not the case. Beds were in a separate room which was extremely nice.

« Would stay again. Nothing to write home about »

We stayed for four nights. Conveniently located next to Ripley's Aquarium. All hotel staff were very pleasant and especially the housekeeping and breakfast staff. Stay here without having high expectations. We did kill a couple of outdoor spiders and crawling bugs near the door but there was a big crack in the door frame that you could see sunlight through. I checked the mattresses and both the box springs and mattress had a zippered cover over them. I saw no signs of concern. The mattresses slept wonderfully. Our room had an oversized personal fridge, microwave, iron and board, hair dryer, coffee maker. There was a balcony...it was not private. The bath tub was very clean and the room in general had nothing wrong with it. The hotel has a pool (5ft) and a playground and a pavilion area with a couple of grills. Restaurants near the hotel are Trout House (make reservations) and a Mexican restaurant. Cooter's go cart is right across the street but we didn't visit. The breakfast at the hotel was great. The typical items were served...biscuits, gravy, eggs, sausage, toast, cinnamon rolls, doughnut balls, waffles, and several drink options. Also was yogurt and cereal choices. A tip jar for the breakfast staff is in the breakfast room.

    2
« Close to main strip »

Not what I expected our room felt like it was in a basement damp and humid so much so that the bathroom door didn't even close all the way Window air conditioner sounded like a freight train kept us up all night Free breakfast and laundry on site were nice

« I would not stay here again. »

We stayed 4 nights in a room that was dark and musty smelling. They advertise having rooms over the river, which is true, but so do most of the other hotels in Gatlinburg. I believe the hotel is outdated and needs some freshening up. The staff was semi-friendly and the breakfast was decent.

« Worst stay in a Best Western hotel, Rooms stink of smoke! »

We have stayed in other Best Western hotels before and always have very good experience. However, we had worst experience during our one night stay at Best Western Twin Islands at Gatlinburg. our family booked two non smoking rooms, one room smelled badly of cigarette smoke, when called front office, they offered to spray some air freshener, so that meant they knew it was a problem. The freshener did not work wonder so my daughter and mother in-law did not have a good sleep. The room I and my wife stayed also smelled but bearable, worst to come was that at around 2 am in the morning the smoke detector went off twice and scared the hell of us, we checked the room and surrounding and it was fine, called the front office and the employee at shift said it maybe due to weak battery and brought a new battery to our room and replaced it. Although I doubted that it was due to battery but went back to bed. The smoke detector went off again after about 10 minutes! I had to take the battery out from the smoke detector to prevent it go off again. Needless to say both I and my wife did not sleep well after the incident. The hotel management needs to seriously address the smoke problem in the non-smoking room, it is just a shame that the hotel has a very nice location but can't offer comfort to travelers.

    3
« Likely to stay again »

The room was mostly clean looking. The jet tub looked like it could use a better cleaning and the carpet could use updating. The location was convenient, close enough to walk to all of Gatlinburg's attractions, but not where noise would keep you from sleeping.

« Cute hotel in a great location »

Loved staying here for a few days however the rooms are very small! It was a little frustrating having a toddler in this room with it being so small and the walls are pretty thin. I do want to say that this is a great little property over all and a great value. It was very clean, well appointed and the property had a retro feel to it. Reminds me of someplace I would have stayed as a kid growing up in the 70's. Cute pool, play area for the kids and amazing location within walking distance to everything! I would recommend this hotel to families as long as you don't plan on spending a lot of time indorse!

    « Overall A »

Price: A Location: A Cleanliness: B+ Comfort: A Noise: B- (its right on the strip but still pretty quiet. Breakfast: B- (what you'd expect at any hotel) View: B (not much of a mountain view but the creek/river somewhat makes up for it) Amenities: C --- This is probably the closest thing i have to a complaint and it deals with the swimming pool. Its just not big enough for a place that has around 100 rooms. We were there on weeknights and the pool was still overcrowded at times, i can't imagine what i would be like on a weekend. Everything was about what you'd expect for a hotel/motel in this price range, actually better than what i'd expect in a tourist town. Our room was clean and beds were comfortable, the furniture in the room was a little worn but i didn't come here to look at a lamp table or desk chair. Overall if you are looking for a place that is clean, close to attractions, and wont break the bank, then I think Best Western Twin Islands is a great choice. If you are looking for a resort like getaway where a chef is cooking your meals then this might not be the place for you. We stayed in the trout haven building. Im not sure if some building are more updated than others.

Best Western Twin Islands...Second time staying with them...Jacuzzi suite in Ogle bldg..patio overlooks Pigeon Creek....very soothing...patio needs upgrade soon...will recommend....thoroughly enjoyed being close to Parkway strip without having to drive down from a mountainside cabin/chalet which I have done in the past. Parkway was electric...streets full of people at all times...closing time for most stores/attractions is 10pm

    « Nice suprise for a change. »

We had recently stayed at another hotel in Gatlinburg that was rated much higher than this hotel. Unfortunately, that hotel was a big disappointment. The Twin Islands hotel was a nice surprise for a change. The rooms were clean, made up nicely, and had a great view of the river. The rooms were very easy to get to, and were what you should expect to see when arriving at a hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was good, and there was a nice playground for young children. The only downside was that the bathrooms were a little small, but they were clean and in good working order.

    « Excellent Customer Service »

Best hotel we've stayed in over the years when staying in Gatlinburg, TN. We called several times to ask questions and all questions were answered and so pleasant and friendly. I really appreciated all the time taken to help us. Best location too.

« If you want a room that has a great view of the river, room 464 is the one. »

The room was fair, nothing special for 160 dollars. But the end room had a balcony view of the river, which was full and swift. The room was quiet , fairly clean, All in all it was a great stay, but for 160 I expect much, much more.

    « Really decent hotel »

I always set my expectations low when it comes to hotels and I'm usually not disappointed. The Best Western Twin Islands was really decent though. The room was clean, the carpet was fresh, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was decent. The breakfast wasn't anything to write home about but I would rate it as the average breakfast you get at most hotels. Staff was friendly and really went out of their way to help me correct a problem with my points credit card that did not show up properly in my registration. The location is good if you want to go out and walk around town. I would definitely stay here again.

    « clean , friendly and convenient »

this is a nice hotel located on the main strip in Gatlinburg. the hotel staff are very friendly and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. this is our second stay at this best western and have had a very nice experience both times. we plan to stay there again next year....

« Will stay here every year »

We have stayed at Twin Islands for 4 years now and love it. We get room 512 and with 2 small kids, it's wonderful. Kayla in the breakfast room is incredible and makes my kids feel right at home. Please tip the cleaning staff when you go. Rena was so sweet and tucked in my kids stuffed animals when she made the bed. I love it here.

« NOT IMPRESSED! Old and dirty feeling »

We picked this hotel for a family of 4 to stay on Parkway based off the ratings and we were highly dissapointed. First we had no TP when we got there. They brought some up to us quickly. The AC unit cover kept falling off. Our feet were black after walking around on the floor. I called up to the front desk and they offered to come vacuum. I asked if they had any cleaner rooms and was told they were all full. The room was dark and dreary and felt old and dirty. The bathroom was crazy small and the area for our food by fridge and microwave was sad. The only good thing about this place was the outdoor pool and playground area and the fact that it's right on Parkway and within walking distance to all attractions. The breakfast buffet was good also. But there are other hotels right there as well that we wished we would've stayed at instead. NOT impressed at all with the room itself!

« Mixed review of pros and cons- better than most of what we saw »

Overview: This was for a 12 day family vacation with two children under age 10. We will probably not be return travelers to this area but for our stage of life and length of stay, it was a good choice. Pros: 1. We are novice travelers. Best Western was unable to book us these 12 days in a row 8 months in advance by phone due to a group reservation but we were able to book it through a third party website. Best Western then honored our reservation and upgraded us to a Queen Jacuzzi suite - which included a sitting area and kitchen space (but the same kitchen amenities as any other room.) 2. Pigeon Forge and the other end of Gatlinburg are crazy busy - think boardwalk in the mountains. There were people everywhere every evening. This hotel was on the quiet side of Gatlinburg and while you can walk to everything in town, it was very quiet and the only people around were the BW guests. 3. The free breakfast buffet was offered from 7 to 10 am, had a variety of content (that did not vary daily) but the dining space was fairly large. Attendance at breakfast varied based on time and we only took our food back to our room once since we could not find a table. The breakfast staff was friendly and upbeat. 4. Our "balcony over the river" was quite small in square footage but our children enjoyed seeing and feeding the ducks each morning. 5. We are from the north east and many other vacationers staying here seemed to be from the south and were very friendly and courteous. 6. The pool and hot tub were both nice and very near to our room. 7. The beds were comfortable and we were able to control the temperature in our room. Cons: 1. I think the linens were supposed to be ivory but they looked kind of dingy. When we requested our linens changed, they did so as requested. My husband noticed that it looked like an eraser-sized spot of dried blood on one of our pillow cases and they were changed by the time we returned to our room but we still do not think it should have been left there. 2. The lighting in our room wasn't very bright which also made it feel like it could have been cleaner. 3. We never had any tissues in our room until our last night. We made due without but it would have been nice to have tissues. 4. Our kids are used to making their own beds and so they tidied up every day before we left for the day. The housekeeping staff only re-made our beds for us each day about 50% of the time. The rest of the time the beds looked the way we left them. Given our stage of life, this was a good choice for us. Unless you like the city-like atmosphere of the boardwalk nightlife, I would recommend staying only in this end of Gatlinburg and not on the other end of town or in Pigeon Forge.

« THE Place to stay »

Visited this location during a vacation with my husband. We looked on the internet and found this location. We were given a very nice room with handicapped capabilities, as I need them. This location is next door to one of the Best aquariums I've ever visited! We were there in the Fall of the year and the changing of the leaves were Beautiful. Hotel room was very nice. Great Staff, and within walking distance to shopping and eateries. The view of the Little Pidgeon River was very nice. Ducks float down the stream and I was never bothered by them. Great photo opportunities! Upper rooms have balconies that allow guests to see the stream and shopping. Breakfast was free and well done .We are planning another trip this fall and I Know just where we will be staying!

« Great value and location »

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Best Western Twin Islands. The room was comfortable and at a great location within Gatlinburg. I would have enjoyed more breakfast options like bagels or made already made oatmeal with additional add-ins.

« Clean hotel but dated »

This hotel was very clean. Housekeeping did a great job. The front desk was okay, not friendly but not rude either! We absolutely loved the breakfast lady!! She was super spunky!! Besides the room being clean, they were very tight. There is a lot of furniture crammed in a small space. The bathroom counter was very small, only enough room to set our bag on. Overall this hotel was average. Its a clean hotel on the main drag.

    « Central Location »

We recently stayed 5 nights at the Best Western Twin Islands. We had a second story room overlooking the river. The room was neat and well kept. The staff was friendly. We liked the location of the hotel as it is very close to the trolley stop by the aquarium and within easy walking distance of the attractions we visited. We were able to leave our car parked for the week and not have to worry about dealing with all the traffic. We took advantage of the breakfast room every morning to start our day. The food was good and the staff were cheerful and kept everything neat. The rates were reasonable.

    « Disappointing »

Room and bathroom were tiny, very tired decor, air conditioner needs a good clean and service, windows very dirty, extremely slow wi fi, was told the computer was broken in the business centre. Come on BW computers can be fixed or replaced very quickly! Breakfast was not enjoyable, have never had rubbery scrambled eggs floating in water before. Yuk!!! This hotel does not meet the standard of other Best Western' s we have used, staff really didn't seem to care about their clients. Ok for 1 night only

« Nice comfortable bed and clean children's play area »

Whenever a place offers a pool, I worry if the water chemistry is checked often. It is. The playground is kept clean, although some playground pieces need some maintenance attention. We had double beds and got a great nights rest. Breakfast area is typical of any Fairfield inn or Holiday Inn Express. Food was hot and kept full. My only complaint is they seemed to run out of regular coffee vessels. It might be worth investing in two stations. Also, need to provide whole milk for children. Our room had a balcony facing a small stream. It was nice and relaxing, but be careful about water pouring from the air conditioning from the unit above. The location is close to everything in Gatlinburg. I'd stay again. I do recommend spending money on new carpeting and replacing worn out furnishings and wifi was difficult to connect to. For this reason we gave one less rating.

    « Average »

Somewhat updated, nice fireplace and clean. We booked a king with a Jacuzzi tub and river view. We got everything however there was no patio or balcony for us to sit on to see the river, in fact there wasn't a door leading out to the river, we could only see it from a window. Someone turned off the fridge so the freezer thawed and leaked on the carpet making the room smell bad. Tub was nice and worked great. Could be a little noisy but not too bad. Outside pool seemed to be okay and the play ground was something nice for the kids to play at. Good wifi with password to ensure you connect. Friendly staff but wasn't offered nothing more than a sorry for our troubles. Cheaper rate but not horrible, may use again if in a pinch.

    « Had a great time »

We enjoyed our trip. The stream by our room was very relaxing in the evening. We would sit on the porch every night and listen and enjoy it. The hotel was within walking distance to almost everything we wished to see or do. The staff was friendly. The room was clean when we checked in and had no problems at all in the room. We would return.

    « Best ever »

We have children and this hotel fit our needs like a glove. The room was decent size with two queen beds on a wed night for $105. The room had a shared balcony overlooking the creek. The hotel had a wonderful play park area for the kids to play. The breakfast food was awesome. The breakfast staff were the nicest people we visited with our entire trip. The front desk staff were new but they did try to answer all our questions.

    « Great Place »

« Best Place In Town to Stay »

Had been wanting to stay here for years, finally got the opportunity during a business trip. The room was spacious, clean, and well worth the money. The property is close to everything, and I hope to stay there again soon.

    « Wonderful caring staff »

There is simply no reason to stay anywhere else. Also, thanks to the front desk for sending the 4 extra coffee packets to my room. My wife and I will only stay at Best Western. We have learned where the best place is to stay!

    « Not a good hotel »

Made reservation and was promised a 3 Bedroom apartment for 3 nights. Paid premium $$ for this apartment. Was not available at check in. they then split our party and gave us 2 separate rooms which was very doable however after getting settled in we realized our room had the shower in the jacuzzi tub thus father could not get in and out to take shower due to high height of jacuzzi sides. The hotel was very outdated and pics on internet were very misleading

« Great for kids but watch out for the snakes! »

As a family of 6 we need space, entertainment, and breakfast. We had all that here, it is an older hotel but well maintained. Very expensive but that's how it is in this area and the hot breakfast offset the price. Clean room, clean pool, good hot breakfast. Then there is the river surrounding the hotel. It's a ton of fun to play in but we encountered two different copperheads! These are poisonous snakes and could potentially kill a child so be careful when playing in the water! Front desk people were not especially friendly but not really rude either. Great spot for small children.

    « Great location »

Stayed one night with the grandkids. The front desk wasnt the friendliest the room was small but the beds were comfortable and the sound of the water was relaxing. Didnt really like not having a private porch. Liked the easy walk to get to downtown and the kids enjoyed the playground after a long day in the car. The breakfast is very good and the women who runs it is awesome. Just not sure i would stay here again.

    « Pleasant experience »

The mountain stream flowing along this motel makes it an enjoyable experience along with not having any problems with the staff or conditions of the room. We were within walking distance of downtown. Also there is a walking path along the stream for those who like to go walking.

    « Would be great... »

Once you get into Gatlinburg you soon realize you'll be walking everywhere so location is key. This hotel has the perfect location to everything, huge plus. Upon checking in during our first stay, the front desk staff was not bad, not very welcoming though. Upon stay #2, 4 days later we were very appalled by the front desk staff. The man was horribly rude. He refused to listen to me when I said our TripAdvisor reservation would be on the fax machine. He argued, claimed I had no reservation, and finally 10 minutes later after not even getting up himself but yelling to people in back to check the fax machine, sat of course our reservation sheet that had been there for 20 minutes. He offered no apology for arguing or for the inconvenience. I've never dealt with such a horrible front desk associate. However, good news, the breakfast was phenomenal and the lady making it was such a delight. She made our stays so happy. The rooms are decent. Old, dated, small but clean and sufficed for a couple nights. The trout house stream views were great, fun watching all the ducks. Housekeeping was a bit odd, both days we left the room for breakfast they were watching like hawks to get in the room. I got tired of them asking when we were checking out so I just hung the don't disturb sign on room handle. Over all I would stay again, but I will refuse to check in through the man who was very disrespectful and unwelcoming.

    « 1 night was enough »

Hotel was three star at best. However room was clean and had a comfortable large bed. Hoped to be overlooking the creek but had a view of dry stones and other hotel rooms, disappointing but as we were only there for one night not worth complaining about to reception. Complimentary breakfast was dreadful we went to a diner in Pigeon Forge.

    3
    « Just ok »

The grounds were nice and the playground was a fun place for my kids. It was within walking distance to all the main attractions. When you walked into our room the sink and bathroom were literally the first thing you encountered. Our bathroom had hair on the floor and the wifi was non existent.

    « Great Location! »

Room was nice. Friendly service. The location was within walking distance of the aquarium, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and shopping. Being put in Honeymoon Island was extremly awkward. So if traveling with friends, might want to be specific in which room(s) are acceptable.

« Clean, Central, All You Need »

Check in and out was easy. Staff friendly and helpful. A few buildings clustered around a courtyard with an outdoor pool. Easy walk to main street with many shops and restaurants. Has a stream running around the property. Quite relaxing. Good breakfast with hot and cold items. I'd stay here again.

« Best Western Twin Island »

Have used this hotel on two prior visits to Gatlinburg. Great location for trolley and getting around. Love the balcony that overlooks the creek for kicking back after a busy day. While the hotel is slightly dated the staff was helpful and professional. The breakfast bar was well stocked and the lady that took care of it kept things clean and was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel and plan to return in the future.

« Convenient Location for GSMNP & Good Value »

This hotel is located in the heart of all of the action of Gatlinburg. The facility consists of multiple buildings clustered around a small river system (and many ducks!) The building I stayed in, Honeymoon Island, had no elevators, but had a ramp to the second floor rooms with outside (but covered) entrances. Very convenient. Staff was helpful and friendly. The only fault I can find with check-in was that the main office was not marked well and was a bit hard to find. The room was spacious with a high ceiling. The room was clean and comfortable. There were a few minor maintenance issues with the room, but nothing that caused me to call the front desk. The river is not very scenic since it is impounded by concrete, but the ducks were friendly and seemed to like it! The included breakfast was good & reasonable fresh - eggs, sausage patties, pastries, juices, cereals, etc. All-in-all, a very good value. I would absolutely stay here again. It is a short drive into GSMNP, which was my primary requirement.

    « Beautiful, relaxing atmosphere »

This quaint hotel was laid out beautifully with abundant balconies and plenty of ducks and ducklings wandering around. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy all of the other amenities like the pool and more time on the balcony.

    « Room 486 »

My husband and I recently stayed in room 486 for a little get away. We both thought it was a very nice hotel! They have a playground, pool, kiddie pool, and hot tub. They serve breakfast from 7am-10am that is amazing! Choices: Biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, donuts, waffles, juice, oatmeal, fruit, cereal, yogurt, milk, and coffee. The room was very nice and well kept! Very clean! It actually surprised me how nice it was. We had a king sized bed, nightstands, lamps, a cabinet, a dresser, a flat screen TV, and small table and chairs, we also had a small coffee maker in our room. There was no over head light but when you turn on the lamps it lights the room up. The only complaint I have is the shared balcony, but it has a good view of the creek. The back entrance takes you on your way to pigeon forge and the front entrance is within walking distance from the Gatlinburg strip. We will definitely be staying here again! :)

« Great Place To Stay While Visited Gatlinburg »

We love this place! The running stream outside our back door was so enjoyable! We bonded with the ducks, geese and birds. The room was great with a well used jacuzzi and the bed was so comfortable. The refrigerator even had a freezer. Great location, yummy free breakfast and so well priced. We will be back!

    « Soothing Water Sounds »

This Best Western was really great! We had a room near the back of the property the first time we stayed here in April. Our balcony looked over the running river. The water sounds were loud enough to be a soothing help when falling asleep. It is close to all the action in town and a short drive to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We liked it so much that we stayed again in early May on our way back from Ohio to Florida. This time we had a room in Honeymoon Island section. This was even better! We had a private balcony this time and loved watching the ducks in the flowing stream. Nice people, clean rooms, good breakfast and great location!

« The center of the action »

The Best Western Twin Islands is in the perfect location for your stay in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, If you are participating in the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts education and prefer not to stay on campus, this is the place! It is directly across the street from the campus and the convenience, comfort, and location cannot be beat. For a family experience, the pool and other amenities make it a pleasant vacation spot.

    « Overnight stay »

I had never stayed at this Best Western so I decided to give it a try. Stayed in a King room that was large, clean and nicely furnished, really liked that it had 2 sinks in the room one in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom. The hotel sits over a creek so the water runs through the property and the ducks come to visit on the property. Check-in was very easy happy with my stay, will stay here again.

    « Best Western Gatlinburg »

Clean rooms and close to the entrance of the Smoky Mountains. Had problems connecting to internet in our room, it would come and go not a strong signal. Hotel is 2 hours from Cumberland Gap National Park and 1 hour 40 min. to Blue Ridge Parkway. Wish they had bacon for breakfast, they only had sausage.

« The sounds of rushing water mask any traffic noises at this motel. »

We used the GPS to find this downtown Gatlinburg motel complex, as we had not been in Gatlinburg in 50 years. It is now a crowded tourist town, (in the summer it must be mobbed), and as we checked in, we were given a parking pass for our car. Our room was on the end of the building on the second floor,(ramps, not stairs) and opened both front and back, The back door opened to a deck, which overlooked the point where the river, separating the peninsula where most of the buildings and outdoor pool were located from islands on either side with additional buildings containing more rooms. The outdoor pool was heated, and used by several guests, on the few times we were going past for the 6 nights we were there. The grounds were well maintained, and several beautiful rose bushes were in full bloom. Breakfasts, served from 7-10 AM, had in addition to the usual self-serve waffle machine, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, etc., had a pancake maker, and very tasty miniature cinnamon rolls and sugared donut holes. Nice. This motel is only about a hundred yards from "Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies."

« I loved the little river flowing and the balcony overlooking it. It was kind of like having a piece of country living. »

The room was clean. The staff was courteous and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. I appreciated that it was right in the middle of town where we could be close to shops and restaurants without having to get in our car yet we could sit out on our balcony and enjoy the river.

    « Gatlinburg Best Western »

Staff was friendly and courteous, Hotel is centrally located and walking distance of Gatlinburg activities, Rooms are smaller than expected and dated. Breakfast was to the standard expected from Best Western.

« Good value for the money »

The room was large and comfy. The brook behind the hotel was nice for atmosphere. Unfortunately, the TOTO toilet plugged. The front desk manager brought us a plunger. Two lights were out over the sink area and the blow dryer broke. Even though the hotel was kitschy, I expected more from a Best Western.

We chose this due location to the points I had but, will stay here again, points or not. Convenient to the entire experience of Old Gatlinburg. Staff was pleasant and very helpful. The ambiance of the property takes you back in time and is very quiet and relaxing ( stayed last week of April ). Headed back before long !!!!!!

    « Fab location »

Get a river room and your balcony look right over the river. It's a motel style lodge, but right in the heart of the town. It's set back from the main road so its not too noisy. Basic accommodation, but clean, comfortable and a good price. I'd definitely go back.

    « First Timer since the 80's »

Last minute decision to go to the smokies and we didn't have room reserved. Luckily we got a room at The Twin Islands. I haven't been there since the 80's and didn't know what to expect. It had fairly good reviews from Trip Advisor so i based my expectation on that. Turns out [once again] that it was accurate. We originally got a king room with stream view. Nothing extra, just your basic room for two people. We checked in, no problems there, went to the room and unloaded our car. I stepped out on the balcony [shared] and checked the view. Since i have a phobia about bed bugs i checked the bed first. No problems there. Next door to us were some young lads that were super energized to be on vacation and immediately started banging on the railing and then finally one jumped off onto the grassy area near the water. Turns out there was a bus load of these kids and we were smack in the middle of all the enthusiasm. Since we were there to relax, i went to the office to be moved. The staff kindly switched our rooms to an upgrade for a King with fireplace at no additional charge. No balcony, but that was ok. The room was big and the bathroom more private. The bed was super comfy with a memory foam topper and the linens were clean [so was the mattress]. So i'll give this hotel a thumbs up. It's not completely a 5 star due to location, but that's because it was so busy. I usually stay at the quieter end of town. All things considered, i would recommend this hotel for proximity to the bustle. Also within walking distance of Giovannis Pizza [5 stars there] and No Way Jose's restaurant.

« Comfortable Rooms with Convenient Downtown Location »

Our King rooms with fireplaces were located on Honeymoon Island. Too bad the fireplaces were shut off for the season since the first week in April was chilly. We especially enjoyed that the river was just outside the door with chairs to sit in and listen to the water. The rooms were clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will certainly consider another stay there next trip.

    « Nice rooms »

We stayed Friday and Saturday and we were so pleased with our rooms. the rooms are huge and updated and the only reason I didn't give a 5 was because the carpet made our socks very dirty, I love the lay out of this place room 417 has a private porch with steams on both side. this will be our go to place from now on.

    « Can't Wait to Return! »

Refrigerator, microwave. Extra long counter/sink area outside of the toilet/bath room. Loved that these rooms had a 'backdoor' leading out the opposite side of the entry door. There was a patio there, but it was not private. Every day there were many ducks waddling around near the river, which was only steps away. The children loved feeding them and they did wander right up to the patio. The pool stayed open late and even through a downpour. Loved parking directly in front of our ground floor room. This location allowed us to walk every where we planned to visit on our trip.

    « Comfortable and Quiet »

Hotel staff was excellent. The few times we needed a bit of advice they were spot on. The location is excellent, with easy parking, no street frontage with the accompanying noise and traffic, and walking distance to all of downtown Gatlinburg. Room was clean, wifi worked fine, and the dogwood outside our room was in full bloom. The breakfast was good, not great, but the woman who is in charge of the dining area was fantastic. Selection and quality of the food was fine, but still a motel free breakfast.

    « Enjoyable stay »

We stayed in king room with river view. We had a patio about 20 feet from river. My husband wanted to watch the ducks but there didn't seem to be any ducks on our section of the river. The room was good with plenty of outlets for phone, etc. I liked the extra sink outside the regular bathroom. Although we did not use the nice, large refrigerator and microwave, we appreciated it being included in the room. Bed was comfortable. We did not hear any road noise. The biggest drawback was difficulty turning left out of parking lot onto the busy Parkway Drive. The Best Western was located near Ripley's Aquarium and various restaurants.

    « Very good hotel »

We checked in to a very helpful staff, great playground for kids, room was spacious and clean, jetted tub very nice, small balcony overlooking river, kitchenette with microwave and small fridge, fireplace in room was nice because nights were still cool

    « Great location. »

The hotel was very clean. The room was comfortable and clean. The coffee in the lobby was always empty and I did not receive the wake up call on the morning of check out. I would recommend this hotel. The breakfast was very good.

    « Love this hotel! »

Home away from home is how my family feels about this hotel! We love it! Great free breakfast, nice clean rooms, comfy beds, kids love playing in the creek, and we walk to everything!!! Staff was great too. We come here 3-4 times a year and wont consider anywhere else!!

    4
    « Great Experience »

Room was very spacious, clean and quiet. Breakfast was well stocked and fresh. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a king jacuzzi room and was very surprised with the size of the room but the balcony was rather small-disappointment here. Not even big enough for a chair and small table.

« Great Location, Great Service »

We have stayed here 3 times in the last year. We had originally planned on taking a trip Easter weekend, but a last minute stomach virus on the way changed our plans. I called the hotel after the weekend and they refunded all of our money, not just the 2nd night. As soon as we had a chance to plan another weekend trip I booked with them again. Everyone is always helpful and nice, from the front desk to the cleaning staff. The location really cant be beat and the rooms are great. We stay in the King Whirlpool room on "honeymoon island" and I will request this room every time we stay from now on! I will say the wifi in this room was a little iffy, especially in the evenings when everyone was using it. That would be the one thing I would recommend is improved wifi

    « Very nice location »

Great location to walk anywhere in town. Beautiful hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Across street from the Smokey Mountain Wine Festival that we attended so walking was a very good thing. All room are creek side ours was in the middle so on both sides.

« Small, Smelly, Dirty Room »

We were traveling through Gatlinburg and had some Best Western gift cards so we chose it over other hotels we have stayed at before. We chose a regular 2 queen room instead of a suite when we booked on Best Western's website. The suite was only $36 more with AAA but we decided against it because we were getting in late and didn't think we would have enough time to enjoy the room. At check-in, we asked about upgrading to the suite and the clerk was rude about it and said the suite was the same size, not much different but would cost us $80 more (even though all online prices were only $36-40 more). The room we ended up with was incredibly small, the dresser was broken, the wifi was slow, the cold water didn't work, everything smelled and there were scuffmarks on the walls and doors. If you want to see for yourself, my daughters did a video on their YouTube channel (Bee You Neek). You can search it or PM me for the link. In the video we link to another YouTube video that shows the size of a suite which is twice as large and 3x as clean. Definitely worth the extra money. That said, the pool area looked nice but it was chilly in early April and we were short on time so we didn't get to use it. Same for the playground. If we had more time it looks like it would have been fun for the kids. The hotel staff the next day was very friendly and the grounds, trees, river and views were lovely. The breakfast was ok. The only way we would consider staying at the property again is if we got a suite.

    3
    « Overall good »

Clean room, except for carpet. Breakfast was just ok. Decent location downtown, across the street from the General Lee. Wi-Fi was non-existent, as it wouldn't get past the authentication page (luckily my wife let me use her phone as a hot-spot, or I would've been miserable). The pillows on the bed weren't much bigger than throw pillows, which is pretty dumb considering it was a king-size bed.

« enjoyed my stay, will be back »

My family enjoyed their stay and we will be back, other familys need to know, when you are on vacation there will be noise so stop complaining. Its a fun hotel and family oriented. I would have liked to be with the rest of my family, we booked and paid for two rooms but we were a couple of doors away from each other. They did put us right in front of the pool and playground. We could sit on the front and back area and have a barbeque now I Loved that it felt like we were at home.

    4
    « Very Busy Location »

The is the best hotel in Gatlinburg location wise. I had rooms on the first floor and a great view of the rive which flows around the hotel. I stayed one week (Spring Break) so it may not be indicative of a normal week. It was a challenge at breakfast time trying to find a table and the staff could barley keep up with the need for food. The hotel is a bit dated interior wise but very clean and comfortable.

    « Review of hotel »

I was very satisfied with the hotel. The room was clean and the grounds were very well kept. Also the breakfast was very good. This hotel is close to the town so it's within walking distance of most everything.

    4
    « Great Hotel »

The only reason why I gave it a 4 star is because we never got our wake up call. The hotel room was huge, bathroom was huge, property was beautiful and a great location. If we visit again, I would stay here.

    4
« OK for the price »

It wasn't horrible, nor great. Pros: Price. Close to downtown. Rivers are nice. Continental breakfast was decent, staff was also nice. Cons: AC unit stunk and was hard to get the room comfortable. It wasn't the cleanest of all hotels. Sheets were obviously old. Weird noises in the middle of the night one of the nights. Smallish parking spaces, my car got dinged one of the nights we were there - not their fault but something to consider.

    5
« Made Us Feel So Very Special! »

We stayed here for our 30th anniversary and they treated us even more special than they usually do. We are always treated great but they made it a stay to remember. This hotel is always clean and comfy, the staff is always great and will do anything they can to make your stay a wonderful experience. You feel special and feel like your business is appreciated which is lacking at so many places nowadays.

    5
    « Wonderful Deal »

My family stayed here in March. Upon reserving our suite for 2 nights, we weren't expecting much since we only paid $110 a night. We were pleasantly surprised though. Our suite was HUGE and included a separate bedroom with 2 queens, a kitchenette, living room and large bathroom with a jacuzzi. That, plus parking is convenient, the free breakfast is pretty awesome, it's very clean, and it's in a great location right next to the aquarium. I really can't believe it was so inexpensive! We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend to all - especially families with children!

    4
« nice hotel in town »

While an older hotel it is very well maintained. The beds were extremely comfortable and the unit had a table and 2 chairs. We were in the Dear Run Section and the back door led to a picnic table and BBQ grill overlooking a stream. The gounds were also well kept with a pool, hot tub, playground and laundry room. The included free breakfast was adequate with eggs, sausage, waffles and more. The staff was friendly and attentive. The best part was this hotel was in town and you can walk to everything

    3
    « Worth the money »

It's a basic hotel. When your out and about all day its a good place to go back and rest your head. There is a pool and very small hot tub. I did not like that we have to walk so far for breakfast. We were located on the opposite end of the parking lot, so when it's chilly in the morning and you just want food (oh and half asleep) it seems like forever. I would hate to lug little ones all that way early in the morning. Overall its a descent place. I got what I paid for. Oh, the housekeeping ladies we had were GREAT!!

    5
    « Pleasant stay »

It was a very pleasant stay at the Twin Islands Best Western. We loved its location near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! People at the reception were very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was nice but a bit more varieties on fruits would be great.

    4
    « Very Convenient »

It's right in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg. Within walking distance of all the stores and restaurants. Reasonably priced. Got to listen to the river while I slept (very relaxing). I highly recommend others to stay there.

    5
    « Great »

This hotel was wonderful. The views were amazing and everyone was so nice. We even had one of the maintenance men stop traffic to let us out of the parking lot (Gatlinburg traffic is not fun). This hotel was a great location to everything. The strip was within walking distance. We didn't have to drive in Gatlinburg, only to Pigeon Forge. Breakfast was awesome too. Rooms were clean and roomy.

« Great Location! Great Staff! »

The location is great. Carolyn that does the breakfast in the morning was great. We didn't get to breakfast until 9:30 AM(it ends at 10 AM). She put out freshly cooked food(eggs and sausage) and restocked the entire time we were there. We had a 2 Queen Suite in the Ogle Building. It was very roomy. The beds were in a separate room from the sitting area. There were televisions in the Sitting area and bedroom. The place was extremely clean. I don't see how anyone wouldn't love this place.

    5
    « Spring Break »

We have 6 in our family, so we rented 2 rooms side by side. There was a door between the 2 rooms, which made it much bigger to accommodate us. This Hotel is in Gatlinburg, at a great location, because it's a short drive to Pigeon Forge as well. The rooms were very clean and the staff was awesome.

    4
    « March 2016 »

One of my favorite hotels for the price. The suites are amazing. The free breakfast buffet is great, a lot of variety. But always a room that does not have a room over you because they will not handle noise problems from other quest.

    5
    « Family vacation »

This place was great. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, and the continental breakfast was really good. We really enjoyed feeding the ducks right out side our room by the river. I plan to stay here next time I go to Gatlinburg.

    « Just ducky »

Very clean room and comfortable bed. Was disappointed that we did not have a river view room and/or a balcony. There was supposed to be a stream outside the back door of our room but very little water was trickling through it. We did have a fireplace and where our room was situated was very quiet. No guests above or on one side of the room. Bathroom was a little tight, had to squeeze between the sink vanity and the wall with the toilet paper to sit on the toilet. On the plus side, the room was very clean and we did have a fireplace. Had to laugh each morning as the ducks outside quacked and quacked and quacked. Interesting alarm clock! Oh, if you are offered bonus points for your BW membership or the free gift, take the points. Our gift was a bottle of water in a gift bag with tissue paper.

    « Excellent Stay »

Spacious rooms in the suite. Very clean. Extremely comfortable beds. Convenient to everything and many attractions are within walking distance. We will definitely stay at Best Western Twin Islands again.

« Humble old motel in great location »

Came up quickly upon the alternate entrance on the road from Pigeon Forge. It is an old but decent property. Enjoyed the stay and environs. We found the location perfect, not in the middle of everything but right next to it. The price was right and the included breakfast was standard and fine. The desk was usually busy but helpful. Just up the road within walking distance is a mountainside roller coaster which I was tempted to do, but decided to save my money. Generally we find Best Westerns to be competitive in price and locations are often decent. Laundry facilities were reasonable and useful. Highly recommended for good value.

    4
« River was a nice bonus Great location »

Located right downtown a 5 minute walk from The Village Shops. The staff was friendly. The rooms were comfortable and we all slept well. The loud river was right out the back door. My 9 yr old son loved this. The breakfast was good, many choices. All in all it was a good stay for the money.

    2
    « Decent »

Just called to check on the hotel after making reservation through Best Western. The pool although heated is closed for the season. Asked about the hot tub . It's also closed for remodeling . Just passing this along to anyone looking at making a reservation for the next few weeks at least.

    « Nice place »

This was a really nice place to stay and highly recommend. The beds were extremely comfortable, the wifi worked great. We were staying at another place and left with a refund and came here and were extremely pleased and sorry we didn't book this to start with.

    « Wonderful Place.. »

This is one of the best places to stay in Gatlingburg, the little river that runs through the property is very nice.... The people there are wonderful also.. Everything is within walking, if your up for a four or five block stroll..

    5
« wonderful place to stay, awesome service »

we were very pleased when we stayed here, we stayed on HoneyMoon island and loved our river views, the ducks were adorable and the breakfast was something to look forward to. We did not have our children with us, but will be back with the kids as they had a nice picnic and park area.

« Right for the Price »

We were on a trip for Valentine's day. We enjoy staying in Gatlinburg so we can walk through the city and just relax! This was are first stay at the Best Western it was my husband, daughter and myself. The check in was quick and easy, the room was very roomy. There is a mircowave and mini fridge in the room, f'lat screen tv, wii fi, outside the back of every room is the creek. Our daughter loved that the ducks were every where and couldn't wait to feed them. They serve your normal continental breakfast. There was a sweet old couple that was serving and made sure everything was full for everyone that came through. All and all we enjoyed are stay every much and will more then likely book this hotel again.

    « Great location! »

The hotel is older but very well maintained. It is characteristic of hotels on River Road. The room was clean and modern, the bed was very comfortable. LOVE the location and would definitely stay here again, great value!

We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful surroundings and very friendly staff....Within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in Gatlinburg...If you enjoy the mountains then this is the place to stay...

    « Beautiful, fresh room »

My fiance and I came here for a quick getaway and were pleasantly surprised! I've been coming to Gatlinburg since I was an infant and have never stayed here before, but had passed it many times and knew it was an older property. We booked one of the hot tub suites. All the furnishings in the room are new and modern, and the carpets and walls are clean and updated. The room is very large--with a bar and a sitting area (it may be bigger than our one bedroom apartment at home!) Front desk was helpful, polite, and friendly. The only small complaint is that our "private river balcony" faces the back of some stores and it's not the best view, but for the price, location, and interior, I will definitely be coming back. This is my new go-to.

    4
    « Pleasantly surprised »

I was a little concerned because of the ago of the hotel. However, I had read the reviews and decided to give it a try. We were pleased. The hotel is older but they keep everything neat and clean. It will be awhile before we return to the area and when we do, we will stay here. It is in walking distance of everything downtown.

    4
    « Winter get away »

We enjoyed our stay over the stream, the rooms were very clean. The property is well maintained and in a good location in Gatlinburg. We stayed during the week so it wasn't too crowded, however, some of the shops close early. This property is walking distance to the downtown area and many attractions.

    5
    « Great experience! »

We chose this hotel based on reviews we read on various sites, location and price. We were extremely pleased with our choice and will be back! The location was perfect, the staff were all very accommodating, the rooms were clean and the breakfast offering was above average (the breakfast attendant/hostess was an extremely pleasant lady who greeted us with a warm smile very morning!).

    5
    « best in downtown »

We have stayed here three years in a row in Feb. Its the perfect location. You can walk to just about everywhere. I prefer the mountain house rooms. They seem to have more room, are single story, has frige and microwave and back porch area with the river flowing behind you. This place has a large play ground that is nice. It has a free breakfast with biscuits, eggs, sausage, gravy, waffles, pancakes, yogurt, sweet rolls etc.. If you are going in winter time, this is the best place to stay because you can wall everywhere and don't have to worry about the snow closing the roads in town. The beds were very comfortable and room was clean and nice.

Great hotel! Clean-- clean rooms-- everything works. Hotel staff is the best-- great breakfast at "Miss Chipper's" place.. once you eat breakfast here you will know what that means. Right by the river-- close to everything. Great for couple or families-

« great location for visiting Gatlinburg, TN »

Easy access, easy walk to all activities downtown Gatlinburg has to offer. Rooms were clean, great breakfast. The view was wonderful- We stayed during snow and it was beautiful. If going during the winter and Show is in the forecast - Some of the area stores and restaurants will close early, but still plenty to do and see. Don't forget to take the Ober to the top of the ski resort.

    5
    « Excellent stay »

The staff was wonderful during check in and throughout our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great view of the river. Within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Will definitely return.

    4
« Average hotel in a great location »

I'll start by saying the location and surroundings of this hotel are great! All rooms have a view of the creek via a shared balcony outside the back door (our room had two entrances, one from the front and one from the back). The hotel is located next door to the aquarium and was only a 3-5 minute walk to the main street through Gatlinburg and the intersection with the Mountain Mall. The rooms themselves are typical hotel rooms, nothing fancy. Our room had two queen size beds, a very small table with a chair, a large dresser, and a very small bathroom. If it wasn't for the location and view I probably wouldn't stay here again.

    4
« Good value for the money »

Check in was quick. Front desk associates were nice. We were upgraded to a suite in honeymoon island. The fireplace wouldn't stay on, we had a staff member relight the pilot once but we didn't bother asking again, wasn't a huge deal but would have been nice if it worked the whole time. Bed was ok, not the most comfortable but not horrible. It was quiet which was great. The ramp on the walk way sort of worried us when we first arrived bc it was raining and the ramp to cross the bridge is at a high angle. They're is no railing to hold onto and we felt like it would be slippery. It ended up being fine, but they should really put some kind of railing up. This hotel is convenient to everything. Bathtub was huge, water stayed hot. We'd stay again.

    2
    « POOR MANAGEMENT »

This hotel is clean and nicely built, The staff is very friendly and nice , however they are not trained by management to handle anything out of the ordinary. If you are a smoker go ahead and smoke in their rooms they do not care. If you are a deaf person and need the TV at full volume go ahead they do not care. if you want a cigarette smoke free room and quiet sleeping you may want to go elsewhere

    5
« Great location! Great Value! Great breakfast! »

Great location, excellent service, and great room for the price! Breakfast was delicious too! Only issues were it was about 30 degrees when we arrived at the hotel. There was no heat on in our room. Also, we were on the honeymoon island and the room next to ours was full of very loud children and adults. Walls were very thin and we could hear every conversation and whine of the bored children. Children shouldn't be on honeymoon island. =) Otherwise, excellent stay and service and location!

    4
    « Great location!! »

Great location w/ easy walk to attractions yet very quiet. Nice, large, and clean room. Love the sound of the river by the rooms!! Easy access to National Park and Pigeon Forge. Would stay there again when we return to Gatlinburg!

« So Wonderful. Ideal Hotel for Vacation. »

My fiance and I had visited Best Western Twin Islands in Spring of 2015. I had just realized i hadn't left a review. The staff here was so friendly and make you feel almost as if your at a resort. The whole hotel is almost completely on the river where kids can enjoy the ducks and geese. It's so quiet here-the room we had looked as if we were on the bow of a boat. The river while sleeping was so soothing and I will ALWAYS recommend this to people travelling to the area.

    4
    « Good stay! »

Older hotel, but very clean and very courteous staff! Only issue was not receiving 2 beds in both rooms. Hotel was full, and we got 2 rooms with single kings. Overall, good stay though! Breakfast was average, but ok.

    5
« Keeps getting better and better »

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and highly recommend it. We stayed in one of the suites and will request it whenever we are in Gatlinburg. The bed was comfortable, the private balcony over the Little Pigeon was perfect and the location couldn't be better (in the middle of town and near the aquarium). The room was huge - the only improvement I would suggest would be to add a sofa.

    5
    « PLEASANT »

The beds were so comfortable. I want one of theses mattresses!! I stayed in two different rooms. They were both very clean! The food was wonderful and such friendly staff. I recomment this place and I will return. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

    « Renewed Expereince »

I was a little concerned about staying at Best Western in Gatlinburg as I have found that most hotels in that tourist town are worn out and in need of updating. However, after spending two nights, I have to say this is one of the better family motels that I have ever stayed at. Our room was very clean and up to date. My wife's sister and her husband were in another room on a different floor and it was just as nice as ours. Everyone was pleased. The breakfast was as good as any continental breakfast I've ever had. All the staff was friendly and went out of there way to talk to us. Hotel was perfectly located to walk to all the downtown attractions in Gatlinburg. I will likely stay here again if I return to Gatlinburg.

    4
« At entrance to Smokey National Park. »

This propertthy has a very good location in downtown Gatlinburg. A creek running down from the mountains runs right through the property making it very scenic. You can walk along the shops and restaurants and it is not far from the entrance to the Smokey Mountains National Park. It has a good complimentary breakfast. The bed & TV were good but the internet was poor to nonexistant.

    4
« Stayed here for the first time and loved it »

The location is excellent as was the amount of green space along the river that runs through the property. We walked out our back door of the room and were right at the rivers edge with plenty of chairs to make yourself comfortable. The rooms were basic but clean and updated

« Best Western's Twin Islands, Gatlinburg, TN »

Outstanding location, accommodations, staff and service. We'll stay here again. It made our family Christmas getaway great. Brian, the desk manager, helped book our stay and assisted me in picking out our rooms. The rooms were awesome. The river that surrounds the property was raging during our stay, secondary to heavy rainfall the previous day. It was awesome to watch and hear from our balcony. Brian, manager, was friendly and very helpful during our stay. All staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was great and the lady cooking was the friendliest food worker I've ever met. Simply couldn't have been better.

« Great Hotel on the Gatlinburg Strip »

We were very pleased with the location and cleanliness of hotel. We normally stay at the south end of the strip in Gatlinburg, but we tried the north end. We were pleasantly surprised at the ease of access by walking. Hotel is dated on the outside, as is most of Gatlinburg, but the room was comfortable. Most rooms are small, since they were built in the 50's. But the Bed were very comfortable. Would stay there again.

    « Review »

Hotel was clean & neat. Bathroom was very small. Bedroom area small for a Kingsize bed, table, 2 chairs, 2 end tables and a dresser and clothes cabinet. Would not stay at this hotel again without checking the room I was bring given first.

    5
« Great Place to stay »

I loved the courtyard type layout which meant that the room was quiet and away from the bustle. The back door on to the stream side was a nice bonus and feeding the ducks was a added plus. Reasonably priced considering it was such a busy weekend with the Christmas holidays. The rooms was clean and the service was great. Having a fireplace on a cold night was fantastic.

    4
    « Location,value and cleanliness »

First room they gave us had not been cleaned and did not have a water view although I had requested that when I booked it. It was also on the honeymoon island which made my female friend and I uncomfortable as this was just a girlfriends weekend away. The front desk gave us another room which was much better. The bathroom was quite small but the beds were very good. Nice clean room and the balcony and creek are great. Breakfast was good and it's nice it's free. The people that worked in that area were very friendly. Front desk people were very nice but when we stopped in to check out he didn't ask how our stay was.

    5
    « Excellent Stay! »

We enjoyed our stay. Close to everything, we were able to walk to almost everything! Clean hotel! Will stay again when we return to the area! Loved the sound of the river every night! Parking was limited but it was fine once we found a spot we kept the vehicle there and walked everywhere.

    4
    « Nice Hotel »

This hotel was nice and cozy very convenient to get to everything on the strip in Gatlinburg . My family enjoyed and it and the breakfast was nice to not have to go out and find a place to eat breakfast each day. I would definitely stay there again .

    4
    « Clean and spacious »

Stayed at hotel for soccer matches in t b e area. The c room was a comp and it has been the best comp room I have stayed at when I travel to Gatlinburg. Room clean, spacious and bed was very comfortable. Got breakfast next day, good selection. Staff running it was awesome.

« Decent hotel with clean rooms and average breakfast. »

We stayed here a couple of days during our SM trip. The hotel is pretty decent, hotel rooms are kind of BW standard, but clean and nothing to complain. Breakfast staff was very friendly, the food nothing outstanding, but totally sufficient. We had a room, where the next room was privately owned. It seems they had a kind of grandfather clock, which made the same sound as the church in Gatlinburg town. We checked when it rang, it was definitely from the neighbor and not outside. We asked the staff to do something about it but nothing happened, so in the night every hour we heard the bell ringing. As always, ear plugs pay off, but it would have been nicer without that noise.

    2
    « Bugs in room »

This hotel is in a beautiful location, with all the rooms overlooking a river. We enjoyed sitting outside on our deck, but it was ruined by a lot of roaches in the room. We were concerned about taking them home in our luggage and in our computers. If you don't mind sharing the room with bugs, then you'll love this place.

    4
    « Clean Room! »

We had room 459 for a few days while visiting. The location is perfect, the room was clean, the continental breakfast was as to be expected, and the staff was polite. The only suggestion I have to other travelers was to ensure you have a copy of your reservation handy if using a third party (we used Booking.com). The front desk tried to add an extra "fee" of almost $50.00 to our reservation but we asked them to check it and it was their mistake, which they admitted and took off immediately before charging our credit card. Overall, if you're looking for a good place to stay and don't have exuberant expectations of "cabin living" while in Gatlinburg, give Twin Islands a try. We had a family of 4 and were comfortable.

    « Needs upgrading »

Location is good but it needs some upgrades. We liked the layout of the room but it's showing it's age. Bathroom tile was grungy-needs heavy duty cleaning & maintenance. Carpet needs to be replaced too. Positive note..beds were comfortable. Breakfast was ok.

    « Some issues..... »

This has been our "go to" hotel for the last several years. This has been the only time that we have had issues. First, we checked into our room only to find dirty toilet paper on the floor behind the toilet and towels in disarray on the shelf...they appeared to be clean but we weren't sure. We notified the desk clerk and she quickly moved us to another (upgraded) room with her apologies. The second room was clean and comfortable. As I sat in the bathtub I looked under the sink at the exposed plumbing, it was absolutely filthy and there was a large opening around the drain pipe and I could see into the next door bathroom! We plugged the hole up with a wash cloth. This is just not acceptable in a nice hotel. My husband filled out a "maintenance" request and once again made the desk clerk aware. We love the location of this hotel....but it is showing it's age and just needs some heavy duty cleaning, updating and maintenance.

« Wonderful Views and Sounds »

This is the second year we went to Asheville and Gatlinburg for a weekend in December to see the Christmas lights. This is our first stay at the Best Western Twin Islands hotel. Our room was in the back on the second floor over looking the Pigeon River. The sight and sound of the river flowing over the rocks was so relaxing we almost did not want to leave the room. The room was large with double sinks in the bath, two large hall closets and an addition sitting room. Two flat screen TV's, microwave and small fridge. The bed was comfortable. My only complaint is the pillows, but then it's the same now matter where we stay. They have a nice large breakfast room with plenty to eat. Eggs, Sausage, Waffles, Cereals and such. The staff was friendly during both checking in and leaving. Our only minor issue was we were so far away from the office we could not connect in the WiFi no matter what phone or tablet, but this was so minor because the views and sounds were worth being unplugged for the evening.

    « Very nice accomdations »

We stayed at this hotel because we know the overall satisfaction of Best Western facilities. It held up to our expectations. Staff was courteous and helpful. The room was nicely equipped with up-to-date amenities and very comfortable. I especially enjoyed the private balcony over the flowing river. It was an overall very nice experience.

    « Great Hotel! »

This hotel was more than we expected. Everything was so nice and clean. The hotel sits in a great location in downtown Gatlinburg, TN. Only a short walk to all attractions in the city. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was prepared fresh every morning and it was delicious. It really doesn't get much better than this for the price we paid to stay. Very reasonable and we are looking forward to our next trip to Best Western Twin Islands - Gatlinburg.

Hotel was clean, and I am a freak on checking it out before we unpack. The check in was quick, check out faster. Scenery was nice we could watch people on the strip. My kids loved the river view. Heat worked wonderful in the room, actually had to turn it down once. Room was cleaned everyday and new towels left for us. My husband loved the breakfast and coffee every am.

« The only place I stay in Gatlinburg! »

Yes it is True! If you come looking for me, I will be at this Hotel! It is located in the center of town, within walking distance to most places and the staff is very friendly! This place makes is the place I escape to and have been going too for over 25 years!! Even though some of the staff has changed it is still my place to go when I come to Gatlinburg!!

« Easy access and nice rooms »

This Best Western is in an easy to find location with plenty of parking. When you get to your room you can leave the car and just to anyplace you may want to go. The prices are very reasonable and the rooms are quiet and clean. The breakfast room is nice and the employees are friendly and helpful. This is a very good value for staying in the heart of town.

« Great place to stay »

We visit Gatlinburg once a month and love to stay here. It is clean and the people are welcoming. We have learned the names of several folks that work there and look forward to seeing them each time we stay. John is over maintenance there and always fun to talk to and willing to help. Arturo is also very helpful. Melissa has assisted us in making sure we get the room we want. Don't like staying anywhere else, clean and convenient.

    « Like home »

We have been staying at Best Western Twin Island for 17 years and it is like our vacation home. Clean room, great breakfast, quiet location and very friendly employees. It is in downtown Gatlinburg but yet has the feel of being away from town with it being surrounded by water and sits back off the street. Once out telephone didn't work in our room so the staff moves us to another room since we needed a land line phone in the room and the room they moved us to was a suite that was beautiful at no extra cost to us. Always a pleasure to stay there.

    « Twin Island, Gatlinburg »

This hotel is an exceptional value. The location is in close proximity to the center of Gatlinburg. From here, it is an easy walking distance to Gatlinburg attractions, stores, and restaurants. The balcony and creek behind each room are very relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms are appealing and provide all the amenities necessary for comfort. There are no parking concerns as there is adequate parking. The management staff is friendly, caring, and professional. Our only issue was with the cleaning staff. They did not do a very good job. Other than that, our experience was wonderful. When in Gatlinburg, this is the only motel we consider. We found them about 15 years ago and will never change.

« Good place to stay. »

The breakfast is free and has several items and the room is a good size. The hotel is located close to a busy street, but it is surprising quiet. The location is very good, and you can pretty much walk to anywhere you want to. The only thing that is missing is a exercise facility. The bedrooms are nice and clean. You have a balcony to look over the river.

We stay here a lot! This is our hotel ion the Smokeys. Good Location. Comfortable rooms. Great Staff. Love the Property. Little Pigion River flows through it. Nice playground for kids. Swimming pool and hot tub. Will stay here again.

    « Great Spot ! »

If you are looking for Hilton like amenities, this isn't your spot. Stayed here for 3 days 1st week of Nov. Place was clean and comfortable and right off the main road where everything is. We were in the back in the "Bears Den" section. Our room literally overlooked the river which was awesome. The only 'flaw' - which would not deter me at all from staying again was that the rooms aren't that soundproofed, meaning in the morning some early birds would be up and slamming doors and/or blow-drying their hair and it was a bit noisy. BUT ...that being said the beds were comfortable and the deck overlooking the river was beautiful. Breakfast was offered although we never made it. They have a computer you can use if you need to print anything out, which came in handy. We do not have kids, but this would be good for a family b/c there is a pool area and a jungle gym type place for kids to play. The Downtown Grill & Chili Co is practically attached to the place so you can easily grab food or a drink. (Didn't eat or drink there - but its an option). This BW is right next to the Mexican place No Way Jose's just to give an idea of placement on the parkway. I used Booking.com to book which had the best rates. Front desk was nice and friendly. This hotel is almost at the start of the Parkway where everything starts & from this hotel to the end of the Parkway is approx. 1.5 miles which if you are a walker was def. not a struggle, even after a few beverages. Def. would return.

    « Great Location & Facility »

This was a great CLEAN facility. It was also a GREAT location that allowed us to walk around downtown Gatlinburg, TN enjoying the great sights and food in the downtown area. We will definitely try to stay at this location on our next trip to Gatlinburg, TN.

« Cozy, clean, great location! »

First stay here, very nice, very well laid out with nice park/play ground in the middle, most rooms back up to a pretty creek with lots of ducks which surrounds the property. Wouldn't think you were in downtown G'burg. Moved our family reunion to here from the Graystone hotel right across the creek. This is a MUCH better place!

« Not all rooms the same »

I stayed here because they offered rooms over looking the mountain creek from the back balcony. Upon checking in, I told the clerk I wanted a room that was very close to the creek. I enjoy the relaxing sounds. He stated that Gatlinburg was experiencing it's worse drought in many years and that the creek was much dryer than normal. Well I accepted that answer and sure enough, upon entering our room and venturing out to the back balcony, the sound of the creek was disappointing. Yes, water was moving but just not very loud. However, upon a deeper inspection of the rest of the property, I discovered that many other parts of the motel (not hotel) had much better sounds from the creek and the water flow rate was much faster as well. So if your staying here because of the sounds from the creek, choose your room wisely. The motel is broken into multiple buildings with each having it's own name. "Fisherman's Cove" seems to have the best rooms in terms of water flow, closeness to the creek, and sound. Finally, the rates were decent and the free breakfast was just okay. I could not get past the smell of the breakfast area. Not sure what kind of chemicals they use to clean but it was not working for me. My wife and I enjoy Gatlinburg and we'll probably stay here again but we'll be sure to get the room we want next time.

    « Cheap, clean, cozy »

I only didn't rate this a 5 just so people weren't expecting full service Hilton type quality. This hotel is cozy and nicely situated on creeks which makes for great scenery. The fixtures in the room were modern and well kept. Very minor flaws here and there ( run in the carpet, very minor mold in the bathroom) stuff that can be easily overlooked. Carpets are kind of dirty, but it's expected, out your back door is a creek, it gets muddy. I couldn't get the wifi to work, but I wasn't worried, it's Gatlinburg, get out and enjoy the awesome town, no need for wifi. I certainly would stay here again. Great location, great facilities, great price.

    « Good value »

One of the better Best Westerns I've stayed in. Staff very good, well managed. GREAT location overlooking river, most rooms have balcony over river, we left balcony door open to hear the rushing water and it was lovely. Definitely would stay again.

« Good Place To Stay »

This is a good hotel to choose in busy downtown Gatlinburg. The price is reasonable, they offer a nice breakfast and the rooms, especially with the balcony over the river, are very nice. We loved sitting out there listening to the rushing water. Try to get a room in Fishermen's Cove as it is the most quiet area.

« Great location great price »

Check in was flawless. Room, clean, bed very comfortable. No odors. The sound of the babbling water outside the balcony was very relaxing. Location is towards the end of the main street where all the shops, restaurants etc. are. It's a very short walk to the center of town. The hotel is on the main rd of all the downtown action. Free breakfast was very good with a nice selection and very well maintained. Great choice and not too expensive.

« Disappointed but made the best of it. »

We just got back from a trip to Gatlinburg where we stayed at the Best Western Twin Islands hotel. Upon opening the door to our room I was struck with the fact that it looked and smelled like a Motel 6. It was cold so I went to light the fireplace but could not. Sent the hubby to the front desk to inquire about it and was told that the fireplaces were not turned on until November 1st. Also the river view room we purchased was a no go because the water was diverted for construction??? So that was 2 things we were told our room would have that did not. Then I noticed how dirty the room was. I'm pretty forgiving on most things but cleanliness is a big pet peeve of mine. There was long black hairs on our clean towels. I have long white hair. There was black pubic hairs on the bathroom floor and stuck to the backside of the door. Bleck!!! The walls and doors need a good wash down. The carpet was filthy and our white socks would be black after walking on it. The bed was horrible and the bedding was old and thin. To add insult to injury there was an envelope on the nightstand with the maids name on it and the word TIPS on the front. Really? You want me to tip you for doing your job that you did not do. Ok. Only in America I guess. Anyways, like I said, we made the best of it and stayed out of our room for most of the trip enjoying beautiful Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mountains. Next time we go to Gatlinburg we will not be staying here. Improvements on the hotels part would be to take some of the money they make with these rooms and refurb them one by one if need be. Also send maids back to maid school or whatever and learn how to clean. A little elbow grease goes a long way. People at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The rooms just sucked.

« Average Hotel for Above Average pricing. »

Medium grade hotel for higher price. Overall happy EXCEPT for neighbors constantly smoking on their balcony and all the smoke drifting into our room. I have extra health reasons why I cannot be around smoke. Hotel office was called once and they told me policy was smokers had to smoke in parking lot for non smoking sections. They told the guests that and they stopped briefly. Hotel gave me towels to put in door cracks, but smoke came in windows, AC unit and door. We couldn't enjoy the balcony any time they were out there. Next set of guests did the same thing - I gave up and hoped it didn't effect my health, wishing for the best. The hotel should print that policy somewhere in their Guest room rule book. Overall the hotel is okay, older with lots of cracks and spaces in the doors where you can see sunlight through them. Top and bottom.

« OK place but needs more attention from maintenance and housekeeping. »

Considering Gatlinburg hotels are high priced, this one was very reasonable. The hotel consists of at least 6 buildings. The grounds seemed well maintained. We were in the Trout Haven building. We can't speak for all the rooms, but our room had the following problems that we reported to the front desk: the toilet was not secured to the floor and it rocked when you used it - maintenance tried to fix it, but he couldn't. There was a 3/8" gap below the outside door - we had to put a bath towel down at night to keep the cold air and any possible critters out. The room had a microwave, fridge and coffeemaker. The TV had 60+ channels. Wi-fi was sporadic and slow. Also, we found a child's toy on the floor where housekeeping should have found it. The sheets were old and worn. Mattresses were old, but comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate. Towels were rough. Breakfast was in a different building and what we had tasted good. They had all of the usual items plus scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy.

very nice hotel with great location, relaxing setting on the river but just a step away from the main strip.good on site partking and laundry available. very comfortable beds as well. highly recommend staying here.

    « No wifi »

Wifi never worked and and we tried multiple times and on several difference devices. Staff bascially told us "tough luck." This was major problem as we wanted to investigate oppourtunities for things to do the next day. Would not stay here if wifi is important to you. Also, while I expect little from hotel breakfasts, they are all pretty much the same, this was the worst I have experienced. The rooms could use some updating and refurbishing, but that was the least of our problem. Finally, although this is not the fault of the hotel, we found Gatlinburg ghastly. It is nothing but fast food restaurants, hotels, and bumper to bumper traffic. If you are not into a highly commercialized and congested environment, this would not be the place for you, even if the hotel was perfect.

    « Our Second Stay »

This is my second review for this property, but we stayed in a different kind of room. This time, our party consisted of my parents and my husband and myself. We had two rooms, both in the "Honeymoon Island" section of the hotel. Each room was extremely clean and cozy, with a jacuzzi in the room with an extremely comfortable, immaculate bed. The location is prime if you like to stroll the parkway. If noise bothers you, ask to be put towards the back.

This room was overlooking the river and had a balcony door to that item. My husband and I sat out there and listened to our ipod for quite some time. The hotel is within walking distance of all of the other site seeing events in Gatlinburg. I would highly recommend this hotel

This hotel is set back just a bit from the hussle and bussle of Gatlinburg. Very nice quiet setting by the river. Lots of great places in a short walking distance. My husband and I have visited Gatlinburg many times, but this was our first time at this hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was a large rom with a king size bed, fireplace, and great location on Honeymoon Isle by the creek. The location is fantastic - a short walk to everything. The room was clean, the staff helpful and courteous, and the wifi worked well. We will definitely be back.

    « Short visit »

The location of this hotel is great. There's two ways in and out. We've stayed here before an found it to be pretty nice. We had a room overlooking the river that goes through town. The only issue we had was that the carpets probably needed a shampooing.

    4
    « Location, location »

This location can not be beat. You can walk to everything on the parkway from here, shops, activities and eateries. The grounds are beautiful. There is a river running thru the property and many rooms have a river view balcony. There is a nice pool area and even laundry facilities. Breakfast was good. Room was clean and large, could have used some more weatherstripping on door but not a big deal. Wifi worked well and staff was friendly.

« Great location- Nice Staff- Comfortable room »

Enjoyed our stay - bed was very comfortable - clean and neat. The only comment I would make that one might consider negative was when opening the outside balcony door there was a very large spider-web and the giant spider was at home!

    « Fall Fun »

We were on vacation for a few days and decided to stay here. The room was okay but our bathroom leaked and the bed linens could have been better quality. The bed linens looked like they had been on the bed for years.

    « Exellent location.... »

We originally chose this motel for its location. We were not disappointed as we were able to walk to many of the downtown attractions. The check-in process went smoothly and we were able to check-in early. Our room was spacious, clean and appropriately furnished. Previous reviews had indicated that the Wi-Fi was terrible. We found it to be satisfactory most of the time. The breakfast was good and the lady in charge was most hospitable and really appeared that she loved her job. If we return to Gatlinburg we would definitely stay here again.

    « Another Great Stay »

This is our second time this year staying at Best Western Twin Islands. The location is fantastic and the staff is always super helpful and friendly. The rooms have always been clean, the pool and hot tub are fantastic. It's nice being able to swim in a heated pool in October! The hot tub is great to relax after a day of walking around. The breakfast is good as well, my boyfriend especially loved the pumpkin waffles! This is our favorite place to stay in Gatlinburg.

« Mountain Retreat turned sour »

Made advanced reservation requested river view room. Was placed in the Honey Moon area where ramps must be climbed to get to the room. No other alternate way of getting to your room. I was traveling with my 31 year old Son. Worst experience ever with a Best Western.

« Close to all the action in Gatlinburg! »

This hotel was in a great location and had the added bonus of a fast flowing river looking out from the back balcony. Beds were super comfortable. It was quiet there, but I felt that the room was not as clean as it could have been. There were also some stains on the sheer drapes and chipped paint on the wall. Some of the furniture was also a bit shabby. The breakfast was fine and they had a dedicated person greeting people and keeping everything stocked. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly! I would stay here again while in Gatlinburg

    « Just right for my Family/Wedding Guests :) »

This hotel was suggested by my friend for the 2days/2nites that we needed for my Mom and 2 Best Friends for our small semi-destination Wedding in Gatlinburg, TN. The photos online looked fair so I called the reservation phone number from the website to ask questions. After a brief convo, I really appreciated the reservation agent that helped me book this back in May. He suggested the 2 bedroom suite for my guests (who would be coming in from 3 different states all on the same day for our Wedding) and recommended we book early due to limited units and that the rate for that was better than reserving 2 separate/adjoining rooms for the same stay. Fast forward to our Wedding week, my fiance and I decided to spend the night before our Wedding apart, so I joined my Mom/Best Friends in the suite and found the space just perfect for our needs. We appreciated the Living Room area and large Kitchen, however it was challenging to share only ONE Bathroom and only 1 & 1/2 mirrors! The Breakfast attendant was delightful, charming and upbeat and congratulated me on the morning of our Wedding Day. She gave me a hug! The Front Desk agents were a little lack-luster and were reading a book and looking at their phones on both occasions when I needed to ask a question for my guests. But they were semi-helpful at check out according to my Mom and girlfriends since I was absent on that day on our Honeymoon. Overall, an above average review for the 2 day/2 night stay for my guests.
