Best Western Lee's Motor Inn

Ive never had any issues with this hotel. I love walking in and being welcomed right away. Always have the best service. Clean rooms. Great breakfast. Highly recommend! They also have a great rewards program. If you have any questions the staff knows all about it! 10/10 for me!

We stayed on our way to the Sturgis motorcycle rally. Nice clean rooms, good breakfast with plenty of food and very good servers. And plenty of parking for our truck and trailer. Close to river and easy access to and from the highway. Would stay again.

This is an older property that sits back off the interstate a mile. The room was big and quiet, considering we were there during Sturgis Bike rally we could hear bikes yet they didn't sound like they were right next door. The ice machine is in the pool room which closes at night so if you need ice for an early morning departure get it before lights out. There were a couple restaurants near by, nothing to write home about.

For a last minute decision to stop for the night we made the right choice! The lady at the front desk was very personable and accommodating. We were first given a second floor room but since my mom has some issues going up and down stairs, she didn't hesitate to switch us to a first floor room. And if there condition of that room was any indication of the rest of the hotel, they take care of the place and make sure the rooms look great! Would definitely start there again if passing through.

We spent one night here and was very pleased. We were skeptical at first as it's an older hotel. Check in was fast. The room was updated and clean. To our surprise we booked a two queen room and the room was actually a two bedroom with the bathroom located in the middle. The air worked well and the best was comfortable. They offered free breakfast but we left early and didn't try it. I also noticed they have a indoor heated pool and spa.

No elevators to go to the 2nd floor. Room was clean, spacious and liked the river view. Clean bedsheets and towels. Room had enough lamps. Internet worked just fine. The main problem we had was with power outlet and breakfast. There were only three free wall points in three corners of the room. With four people with smartphones and batteries to charge, it was a bit inconvenient. They could have provided a power strip that had USB ports. With regards to breakfast, options are very limited. And the ones we wanted to eat had ham in it which we none of us eat. I would definitely not consider this location for breakfast. There are restaurants around and close by. We ate at Mi Pueblo Mexican restaurant, food and service was awesome for the price paid.

We are on a road trip and we were planning to stay in Sioux Falls but two days in advance we realized that we needed to cancel that stay and book something farther west on I-90. We were able to book a clean comfortable first floor room at a reasonable price. Good hot breakfast choices. We did not have time to check out the pool.

There isn't a lot of choice in this area of South Dakota, so we opted for a name brand hotel, Best Western. The experience was okay, even if the hotel could use a renovation. Things were worn around the edges. The parking lot is ample and broad, with lots of space, and seems to feature many people who like to fish in the Missouri River nearby with their trucks and boats. The breakfast was very basic. Although the room is clean, it does need an upgrade.

Very nice motor inn! It's an older motor inn but it is impeccably clean and well kept. When you walk in the room you know they have been cleaned because the smell clean. The beds are very comfortable and it's quiet. I would definitely stay here again! Also, there is a restaurant right across the street.

Far below the quality I've come to expect from Best Western. Coffin-sized room, no elevator, no refrigerator, toilet seat low enough for a toddler but too low for an elderly 6-foot-2 gent, printer in biz center would not work, bikers drinking beer and revving their hogs in the parking area.

Perfect stop on a long road trip! After driving 12 hours with a dog, it was a welcome break. The room was clean and the location was easy access. Make sure to take a walk along the river, it's beautiful.

Nice set up but when we walked into room it was only 45-50 degrees inside. Door jam leaked air so if you sat with your feet on floor they froze. Found whiskey bottle and toys on floor left from previous guest. Refrigerator was full of water in the bottom and did not work well. Pool and hot tub were closed but this was not stated when reserved room. Breakfast was very poorly stocked. Very disappointed that this did not live up to Best Western standards. Paid too much for what we received.

Was a great stay! As always, I am very pleased. The hotel staff were friendly, the rooms were spotless and were even updated since my last visit. I really enjoy the variety of choices they have for breakfast. It was well maintained and well stocked throughout the morning. It was a little busy at first so I was able to wait a bit and come back little later with no worries of missing out on anything.

This hotel is very outdated. Needs update to lobby and rooms. It appeared to be fairly clean however the bathroom needed work. Door would only open part way. Door was broken on bottom from being forced open. Would not stay again.

Hotel is very old and not well maintained. Staff couldn't care less. First room a/c didn't work. A/c unit in very poor condition (looked like ready for the junk yard!) and the window a/c didn't work. The second room (after much deliberation) the a/c worked but the room still very dated and old and dark. This was a one night stay during a rode trip. I wish I would have asked for our money back and went down the rode to the next exit. I DO NOT recommend this hotel. I'd give a zero rating if I could!

For a great in and out stay like we had that night, it was a wonderful place to be. Quiet. Clean. Super comforable bed. With helpful staff and great breakfast. The room didn't have a lot of amenities, but we didn't need anything besides a quiet room and a nice comfortable bed to sleep in. Perfect night for us.

Park in front of your room style of motel, which I like. Comfortable beds, good wifi, terrible TV selection. Large counter in bath area. Thermostat was old, dial-style, difficult to regulate, and the knob fell off when touched. Business center was good, fast printer. Breakfast was tasty with a variety of choices.

Comfy bed, clean room, decent breakfast variety, price was fair for room. Had been driving and not many hotels along I-90, this was a welcome stop. Staff were helpful and friendly, location was close to gas and food.

This was a nice pit stop for the night, before riding through the Badlands the next day, then onto Hill City ,SD for several nights. The staff was very friendly and informative. The staff recommended a place to eat and drink. Nice enclosed swimming pool! Biker friendly. Just a block from the Missouri River!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had one incident with the smoke detector going off in the morning, but they got right on it. I should have reported the noisy fan when it first started at night but didn't want to bother them.

Quiet and clean motel for a one night stay. This is an old fashioned motel with doors that open to the parking lot. Our rooms were clean and quiet. Despite the old look, the rooms and atmosphere were fine, albeit simple. Clientele was relatively upscale based on the cars in the parking lot and overall quietness. Would definitely stay here again for an overnight if I was in the area.

This motel sits right on the wide Missouri river. The views are great! It's an old school motor inn that reminds you of the 1960's, but the rooms have been updated. It's very clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly and helpful in recommending a restaurant for dinner and making sure I was set up with my points for my BW account. I would definitely stay here again!

This has long been a favorite stop of mine, so I am inclined to write about it after each stay. This stay was exceptional for one particular reason, it took three hours to find my Cat!! The staff could not have been more concerned or helpful led by Leah who did everything but call out the National Guard. This included offering to take care of Sammie till I could get back if it came to be that I had to leave!! Aside from all that the the other reasons that put this property above others are convenience, close to I 90 with many amenities close by. The rooms are well maintained and always very clean and comfortable, mine having a separate shower and toilet from the vanity, a great privacy plus. The staff always goes out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. A nice hot breakfast is offered. Most important they gladly take the Cat for a small fee of $10. This is truly an oasis and will return in November!! Thanks again Leah!!!

We were just passing threw on out way across state. Didn't get there till a little after midnight. The staff was friendly helped us get out room. Went to bed woke up had breakfast that's wasn't bad they had normal cold things but also have hot biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage links as well as a waffle maker for fresh waffles.

Everything was wonderful, as always. Great people great location for our annual group travel to Wyoming. Best place to stay on I90 when traveling through central South Dakota. The pizza place across the street is wonderful too.

I really didn't spend much time there. Just passing threw. The pool looked really nice, and the hot tub was looking great. I rolled in at 9:30 pm. Pool, hot tub close at 10pm. Looks like a wonderful place to go fishing. There were lots of people fishing.

I loved the whole stay altogether. I always try to stay at best western hotels and this met my expectations! The room was very clean and had a nice modern look to it. I loved the little bunny (washcloth) that was on the bed, very cute. Although microwaves in the room would be helpful. location was amazing considering it's right next to the river! We were able to take a nice relaxing walk along the river after we ate and slept sooo good. The breakfast in the morning was clean and had a variety of options. The lady who worked the front desk was a little quiet but helpful. It seemed like she's was the only worker at the time and she did great at keeping up with all the areas!

This was the only familiar hotel I stayed at on this trip and I was very happy to be back here. I have stayed here several times and it proves to be consistently a great stay. On this trip Jackie was at the desk when I arrived and as usual offered the same friendly and accommodating service I have come to expect. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. There are numerous amenities close by, several within walking distance. Included is a hot breakfast offering eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, juices, yogurt, tea and coffee. There is an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi , both were still opened in early November. Reasonable prices and a good night sleep cap the stay. They are pet friendly for a nominal fee. 

Everyone at the Lee's Motor Inn was very friendly and helpful. I stopped with no reservation and they went out of their way to get me the type of room I wanted on the main floor. Really appreciate all their help

There was no elevator to the second floor and the wife had to climb steps that took her 15 mins. to get up them. Once in the cramped room, discovered that they run an extension cord between the mattress and the box spring to get electricity from the bad electric socket to have electricity for the light on the other side of the bed.

The lobby and breakfast area are everything you expect from BW. The person we dealt with checking in was personable and helpful. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a ground floor room. We didn't know there was NO ELEVATOR until after they'd already given us a better location. Upper floor no elevator might have meant looking for accommodations elsewhere as unloading the car would have been difficult. As for the room, it was about half upgraded from the old shabby former version of Lee's Motor Inn to the BW version of things. There was a funky smell and a wet spot that grew overnight. The bathroom was rusty and beat up and there was NO TOILET PAPER which we discovered after we were ready for bed. Going to the lobby to scrounge is a pain. There was no microwave. In the morning there was a big wet spot in the newer carpet from the A.C. Or maybe from upstairs. We had a quiet night but would probably go elsewhere in the future.

This place is so run down it is pathetic. No hot water for morning shower. I would recommend that you pass this up. I will not go to a Best Western ever again. If this is "best" I would hate to see the worse.

Great stay. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. It is an older property that has been updated to some degree. The air conditioning and heat is controlled by a thermostat on the wall. (Something that you don't see these days.) It is located downtown next to some restaurants, all within walking distance. The front desk staff are all exceptional and a joy to talk with. If I am in this area again, I will be sure that this is the place that I stay.

Went to plug in the boat charger and only 2 of the 4 outlets had power to them and would trip the GFI shortly after plugging it in. Relayed this to the desk clerk both days. Continental breakfast area had the same sticky syrup on the table from the day before where we sat and ALL 9 tables were dirty the second day we stayed. On the second day they didn't even have coffee cups there...they said they ran out. The garbage can was already full so it wasn't emptied from the day before.

I hadn't been in a vintage motel room for years. But I loved it - squeaky clean, comfortable, good shower, helpful staff, good breakfast. It's a great way to make a stop in the middle of South Dakota. The only drawback is that it's a climb up the stairway if your room is on the second floor. If you don't like stairs, ask for a room on the ground floor.

The pool should not have been open and the manager was not concerned and stated that he would look into it. Not sure what South Dakota does for pool inspections. I am licensed to operate a pool in Ne. The spa had chemicals off, I was getting a burning sensation, so got out. Other things that were wrong. Skimmer plates are not bolted down and are also a trip hazard for employees, which is an OSHA violation for an employee. No emergency telephone numbers were posted by the phone. No first aid kit. No clear path to ring buoy and Shepards crook, which would also be an OSHA violation for an employee. No rules sign for guests to follow, which is even stated on room quest paperwork. DO NOT USE THE POOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called on a Friday and was able to get the last room and for a great price, while everything else was booked or about $300. This is an older Motor Inn, somewhat outdated, BUT, don't let that sway you to negative thoughts. Louis checked us in and was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, big, great lighting, and the air conditioner was quiet, something you may not find in expensive hotels. Our bed was so comfortable and got a great night's sleep. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit, cold and hot choices of food. Alysia checked us out, also a very friendly lady. I was telling her how clean it was, how well we slept and started the morning off with their breakfast. She then told me most of their employees have worked there for a long time. Also, if you have time, the Missouri River is in walking distance. We would definitely stay there again.

Stopped in chamberlain on trip through South Dakota. The hotel was just what we needed. Clean room, attentive staff and free breakfast. The breakfast area was clean and well taken care of. They had breakfast sandwiches, eggs sausage and the usual waffle station. Good way to start out the day. There is a nice park on the river which is a great spot to watch the sunset over the Missouri.

This is a motor inn and looks the part. It is definitely an older facility. BUT ... it is very clean, very nice with friendly staff ... what more can you ask for! Within walking distance to the quaint town of Chamberlain. Beautiful part of the state. Don't forget to check out the Dignity Statue!

A few miles off the Interstate, and an older motel, but updated, clean, with everything you need or want and certainly equal to the more modern and more expensive motels. A good bargain. In walking distance to "downtown" Chamberlin

Decent for a place to crash and rest. The room was clean and big. It is an old motel, so don't expect a lot. They have a decent pool area, great food across the street and free breakfast. It's close to the freeway as a stopping point. I never like hotels that open to the outside, but these were not too creepy.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The bed was more comfortable than expected. The staff was friendly and helpful. For an older hotel in a small town it was as expected. The parking spots were tight - probably because of many large vehicles pulling boats.

Stayed the night and other than the super helpful and kind young man at check-in, this place was disappointing. The room appeared clean, but once the lights were all on, the lack of cleanliness was apparent. Table tops were sticky with a few areas that lint were stuck to, which then made me question the rest of the room's cleanliness. It was apparent that the walls hadn't been wiped down recently as there were drips behind the trash cans. The hotel certainly didn't live up to my Best Western experiences from the past.

I have been staying at Lee's for over 28 years. I have never had a bad stay. I mainly stay there to go fishing and the set up of the hotel is perfect for that. The Hotel is in a great location where you can walk up town or walk to the river for its views. Lee's is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a weekend stay or over the course of a week. The owners know you and are around the Hotel pretty much all the time.

we tend to go to south dakota spring and fall for fishing trips with friends... we like that the rooms have 2 separate areas and nice beds, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is a plus. we would like to know how to find out if the hotel is open during winter sometimes we cannot get a room and sometimes its not a problem

Because it was the weekend many of the hotels in the area were booked up. This hotel was over $100 for the night with breakfast included. Take note that if you are on the 2nd floor there is no elevator so you have to drag your bags up the stairs. The hotel rooms are dated but very spacious with a small bathroom. I feel the hotel was overpriced but despite that the hotel was packed.

We spent one night here on our cross country road trip, heading towards Mt. Rushmore. The room was nice, bed and pillows were very comfortable, breakfast was available. This hotel is located a block or two away from the Missouri River, so we enjoyed a nice walk around the area after many hours in the car. I would recommend this hotel.

Check-in was with nice masked young lady. Other employees in morning were unmasked and not spacing. Breakfast room was an unmasked zoo, though there were options to grab and go... but you had to wait for any hot food since rooms don't have microwaves or fridges. Room was old with tears in the rug and broken drapes that wouldn't close to block out lights (room 33). Bed was comfortable with good pillows. Shower was acceptable. TV was functional.

was a nice place to visit and would stay there again if we go back. the place is pretty clean and our room was very clean.. the ac worked very good and so did the wifi. the people there were all very nice and very friendly.. we even got to use the hot tub a little after closing time.. going to south dakota was definitely one of our best vacations..

I would not recommend this hotel this time of year or maybe try an upstairs room. There were crickets inside the room both alive and dead. They chirped thru the night. There was no shampoo in the room . The room was very dated the rooms could use a coat of paint. There were no other available rooms upstairs except a double bed which doesn't work for us as my husband is 6'4 . I asked for bug spray and they didn't have any. Will never stay there again , will go Dow the road for other options as we travel thru there often.

The hotel is located next to the river and near the downtown area. There are a lot of anglers that stay at this hotel, so the parking area quickly fills up with vehicles towing boats, but we had no problems parking our pickups towing long trailers. The staff were friendly and helpful - I had called ahead to request a first floor room because it's difficult for hubby to climb stairs and when we checked in we were given a room on the second floor. The young lady at the desk found us a room on the ground floor, but it seemed like it's used as a last-ditch assignment - it could really benefit from some updating and refreshing. Good breakfast selection in spite of the COVID-19 restrictions. It's an easy walk to restaurants - Pizza and Wing place across the street has good food.

This place was a clean, quiet, comfortable room at a super reasonable price. Yes, the rooms are a bit dated, but that would be the only complaint. The staff were friendly and if you find yourself needing a place to stay around the middle of South Dakota, I can't think of one better. McDonalds is also just across the street.

This is a nice clean motel with good parking located very close to the Missouri River, The front desk people were very friendly and helpful. There was no breakfast available due to the Corona Virus. Beds and pillows were comfortable.

We were just traveling through the area and needed a one night stay, glad we found BW Lee's Motor Inn. It is older, motel-style, but mostly updated. Beds were exceptionally comfortable. Check in went very smoothly with friendly staff. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Several walkable restaurants including McDonald's and a pizza/wing place right across the street. There is also a beach and park within walking distance (longer walk). Breakfast was typical but still very good. We really appreciated that they had COVID-19 restrictions/procedures. They limited the number of people in the breakfast area and had social distancing procedures in place. We would definitely stay there again. The only issue was I called about a week ahead for reservations but did not receive a confirmation. When I called to verify our reservation and they did not have one for us. They did make another reservation and everything was fine. I mention just as a warning to make sure you receive your confirmation.

This is an older hotel. It looks like an effort has been made to modernize it some. It was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was good for Covid times with a hot breakfast sandwich option. I wish the staff would have worn masks but I found that most of SD was of the same mindset. It was a decent hotel for one night on the way to our destination.

Okay I admit it, I'm a city dweller. I'm used to lodging that is impeccable, modern, and clean beyond clean and that's just for mid-scale hotels. So for my first trip to South Dakota in decades, the first place I pick to stay in was here. And I think this was on the higher end for most lodges in the state. So much potential for this place, close walk to a downtown, right on the Missouri River, nice retro motor lodge feel….and you know what maybe the standards and expectations people in the state have are fine. I mean it is fairly clean (except for the hair and dirt I found on the bath mat)…but the 1950s styles AC, the stuffy and damp hallway (had an interior room), the tininess of the room (so small!), the empty toilet paper roll (hey I'm not looking for it to be nicely folded, but could you at least check to make sure I have toilet paper????), the flies in the room (is that normal?), The breakfast area was not grab and go (which is surreal and decidedly retro and not cool in this COVID era). The pool was interesting-separate “seasonal” building and it was okay. Staff were nice but not bend over backward nice. About half the cars in the lot had boats attached. With the mounted deer head in the lobby, I knew I was in a rustic state and lodge….and again, for a rustic like lodge, I think this would be fine and actually really nice for a few beer guzzling hunters or fisherman looking for fun. But for a family? Meh. Again, I'm comparing this to hotels in other states…I have a feeling that South Dakota standards are just a little different. If I was back out this way, would I stay here again? Maybe if I got an outside room. Trip Advisor rates it as #1 in the community based on user reviews, which wouldn't surprise me.

I travelled with my English Mastiff and they had everything I needed. Sofie was happy to answer all my questions and even got me new key cards when mine blew away. Oh, and there is a beach off the lake nearby the hotel!

I like this property! After being disillusioned with Mitchell I decided to try Chamberlain. This hotel was the perfect choice and I have stayed here a few times.  The hotel is located downtown so there is access to food and fuel and it is just a short walk from the Missouri River. I actually walked and saw a bit of the town, there are several attractions close by.The rooms are comfortable and clean and I can count on a good night's sleep. I appreciate the fluffy towels and that the bathroom is separate from the room. They do take the Cats for a fee which is the deal maker. The exterior room entrances make it easy to unload and load the car. The staff is friendly and accommodating and I was impressed that Karen at the desk remembers me. On this June visit the inside pool and hot tub were opened.

Excellent place to stay. Very accommodating. 4th stay in 12 months. Will be back. Friendly check in. Do very well at finding out what you need at reservation time. Overall satisfied and all six of us enjoyed our trip.

Right next to the river, at an excellent location, sits this outdated hotel. The hotel is very outdated. Cleanliness is appreciated even in the corners. On a cold night the heating is very insufficient. This review is for the second floor. Don't know what the first floor is like.

I spend a lot of my year in motels. I travel for business and experience a variety of places. This Best Western is off the highway by about 2 miles and well worth the extra minute or two to get there.

the rooms were in good shape.... like that it has a fridge... do have issues once in a while with the key not working... but eventually got it to work... staff is excellent.. like that there is breakfast in the morning and a good variety. we do a lot of fishing in the spring and fall ... would like to have points build up for that time instead of mid summer

What a great stay in a small town! We easily checked in and then were able to take a walk along the riverwalk just north of the hotel. A few restaurants are close by, including McDonalds. We had a hotel on the lower level near the lobby. Doors are located on the outside but room was very well kept and quite spacious! This hotel is unique in that it has a pool and hot tub located in a separate building from everything else. We used the hot tub while there and had the whole building to ourselves. Breakfast had a wide selection and the staff was incredibly friendly. I'd stay again!

I finally gave up on Mitchell, having a bad experience at the Motel 6 (they do take the Cats) and decided to try Chamberlain. This was great!! A large, clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff (thanks Karen) and nice breakfast sums up my stay. There are several places close by to eat and pick up supplies. The hotel is right on the Missouri River with the American Legion Memorial Bridge right there. The vanity and bathroom are separate which just seemed right. The towels are thick and there is great water pressure. This hotel is very quiet with a large front courtyard. This is my new stop in South Dakota. Pet friendly for a nominal charge. Indoor pool in season. Nice breakfast served 6 AM to 9 AM.

Every thing was on time and efficient clean and quiet good experience as we are working all the time and traveling the USA we work from south east Georgia to north west Montana the Canada border to the Gulf of Mexico stay in a lot of bad places this is luxurious to us

We stayed here a couple weeks ago, spotted a beetle of some sort in the bathroom. The next morning woke up to 3 or 4 beetles in the middle of the room outside the bathroom , I watched one beetle go up inside the door trim molding, yikes! Room 2, wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. when mentioned to the young man the next morning he said it was that time of year, no concern coming from this guy.

Our room appeared to be recently updated. The paint and carpet were fresh and the room was very clean. The two queens were comfortable and we had a quiet night's sleep. Breakfast included the usual items. There was enough seating, but the serving area was a little tight. We would stay here again.

Late at nite looking for a best Western or a Holiday inn express and this showed up Near our destination for the night. Went to check in and got that funny feeling that it was not up to the standards we have co,e to expect from Best Western. Upon further review , it wasn't. Not clean and falls short.

Had a first floor room that was a bit stuffy, but clean and spacious. Bathroom needed a bit of updating, but also was clean. Kids really enjoyed the indoor pool – it had plenty of space and the staff was nice enough to extend the hours. Since we got to included breakfast a bit later, some of the items were already gone, but there was still decent selection of standard breakfast items for BW.

The room was musty smelling but all in all it was a good experience. The decor of the lobby and the room left something to be desired but it was OK. The clerk was friendly and helpful and it was nice being right next to the river.

This is a half way stop on my travels and I stay here a lot. Nice friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast....a nice little town with lots of antique shops. Nothing fancy but reliable and clean.

We stayed overnight at this Best Western in Chamberlain on a road trip to the Badlands. BW was easy to get to, its about 5 miles from the main highway. We were greeted immediately by the front desk and checked in with no problems. Its a motor lodge inn with inside and outside corridors. We stayed in an inside corridor room. Our room was quiet even though it overlooked the parking lot and faced the main street. There are no elevators and the room is a bit dated but we felt safe. It was reasonable and worked out well for our overnight stay. There is a McDonald's across the street. There was also a Dairy Queen and fuel just as you came off the highway. There's a really cool bridge just past our hotel and everyone was friendly in this little town.

Marissa and the whole crew were wonderful! very helpful and polite, indoor pool and hot tub was seprate room so didnt bother anyone! ice machine was in there also with plenty of ice. Marissa and the entire staff made our stay very pleasant! will make a point to come back soon!

They don't vacuum or dust. Toys and food under the couch. Hair hanging from all the lamps. Dust on every bed and picture frame. Air conditioner has a monster in it. Nice large room but really filthy. I would clean it for the next party just to make them have a nice stay.

Our 2 double bed room was divided into 2 rooms by pocket doors. Between the pocket doors lay the bathroom vanity and separate toilet/bath/shower room. Our kids loved having a girls and guys side and we loved the extra privacy for changing for the day. We would definitely stay here again!

Situated on the banks of the river, the hotel room felt very damp and was full of flies. It's a dated property, but the room featured new carpeting, so that was a plus. We had a room with two queen beds, which were comfortable, but one of which had a top sheet on the bottom instead of a fitted. The room seemed clean, but that lack of attention to detail gave me pause. We didn't use the pool/hot tub facilities or check them out. We also didn't eat breakfast, as we needed an early start. The young woman at the desk was courteous and checking in/out was fast. The hotel is in walking distance to convenience stores, liquor/gaming establishments, and a couple restaurants. The town itself seems a be struggling a bit, in terms of economic upkeep.

This motel has been around a long time and always has good rates, so I was worried it might be a bit of a dive. But pictures and reviews were decent, so we gave it a try. Very happily surprised! Yes, it's an older property, but they've managed to keep it more up to date than other, more expensive properties. The bathroom was clean and bright with a great shower head and water pressure. Beds are small (full, not queen), but very comfortable. We got a 2 room suite which was pretty huge. No microwave, but there is a fridge. Each room has its own TV. The pool area was great! The pool is a nice size, the hot tub was wonderful, and the pool building was very clean with a vaulted ceiling and nice furniture. It's really close to the river, a gas station, and a pizza place. Our only complaint is that the room had a musty smell. Hopefully, they'll replace the pocket doors between rooms and the carpet. Then, it'd be like new!

I was needing a hotel for one night. On way to Mt. Rushmore. Not fancy. Not the quality of a "regular" Best Western. The floors were carpeted and filthy. I wanted a 1st floor, but couldn't get one. There was no elevator. I have a broken heel. To make matters worse, breakfast was in a small room in a different building. Yikes. Not sure why there wasn't any real butter at breakfast or why the bananas were cut in half, but I wasn't impressed with the offerings.

Stayed overnight on the way to Mount Rushmore. Room was clean, spacious, with good Wifi. The decor is a little tired and the bed linen a little worn -but OK for the price. Staff very helpful and an excellent continental breakfast in the morning. Good value for the price.

Was a very quiet and clean hotel. Our room was spacious and clean. We were upgraded due to status and the suite was two rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful. No noise all night. Safe neighborhood. Just awesome!

Perfect location on the Missouri River, just down the street from where all the good guides meet in the morning, clean & much more than adequate for a fishing trip. Their rooms with the bath in the middle, splitting the two sleeping areas with sliding pocket doors are perfect for a pair of snoring fishermen.

Definitely priced reasonable for what you get. We were actually expecting this place to not be as nice as it was (so yes, not a five star hotel obviously, but can guarantee you that you can stay here for a night or two and you will be satisfied). The continental breakfast actually took us by surprise as well as we were expecting only bread, milk, cereal and coffee, but there was actually a hot breakfast of eggs and fresh fruit. The front desk lady was also super nice. Book your room here now! :)

We were traveling across SD, and needed a place to stay. You cannot beat this place for $77 a night. Other reviews say there are ants or it smells musty, but those prudes need to get a life. There were NONE of those things. This is a decent, clean hotel. The staff were friendly and there is everything to eat that you would want at a continental breakfast.

The rooms need major updates, I was very surprised when I walked in the room, everything was old and out dated. But very clean. Also the room was super big The pool area is separate from the buildings, so if your wet your walking out in the cool air. To get back to the room

My husband and I both ride Harleys and we have stayed at this hotel many times with no problems, but this time we did not have a good stay. Please do not stay in room #9. It is in a very bad location and smells terrible. The internet will not work in that room because it is surrounded by concrete. There were also loud young men outside of the room, so very sleep was had.

Our annual two week motorcycle trip brought us to this best western hotel. Friendly staff fast courteous check-in. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Your typical best Western complementary breakfast. You cannot go wrong with the Best Western property and they're consistent quality service in value.

Friendly, courteous, caring and welcoming staff. Made us feel right at home and provided a wonderful stay for an unexpected stay in the area. The room was spacious and clean with a wonderfullly comfortable bed. Plenty of lighting, towels, bathroom essentials and coffee/tea supplies. A good variety of TV stations for varied tastes and great WiFi with minimal to no delays. They also have a great indoor pool and whirlpool, however as this was unplanned we did not have suits to partake.

I would stay at this location again! I was traveling from Ontario Canada to Edmonton Canada, solo, and felt very warmly welcomed! The continental breakfast selection was wonderful and the location of the best western was very easy to find!

We stayed overnight on a roadtrip heading east. The lady at check in was very welcoming and nice. The hotel and room itself though, were not so great. The hotel was very loud, there was trash beneath the heater, and ants in the bathroom, on the TV stand, and by the sink-there were probably ants in other places that I just didn't notice. I definitely wouldn't stay here again.

The breakfast was the best we've had for a long while at a hotel. There were waffles with fruit, a variety of cereal, eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt, bagels, pastries, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. A very good selection and I highly recommend this hotel.

Clean and quiet motel located next to the iconic Chamberlain Bridge & Missouri River. Within walking distance of downtown and area restaurants. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We will definitely stay here again!!

The room was so smelly I could hardly sleep. I checked out the next morning at 6:30 am. The first room had so much condensation it was dripping off the windows. The weather outside was really nice so it wasn't that it was humid outside. There were dead moths on the carpet and hanging from the hallway sconce. I asked for another room and was given one on the "balcony" side. That room was just as smelly. the window did not work. I asked for another room and the window in that room didn't work either. The air conditioner didn't seem to work very well. It was a miserable experience. There were other guests who had their doors open due to the moldy, musty smell of the rooms.

Older building but they have done a nice job in cleaning and decorating. Located in downtown Chamberlain; a little hard to find but very east to get back on the freeway. Several resturants within walking distance and next to the Missouri River.

Wife and I road tripping west on 90. Bedded down in chamberlain..... motel fairly old but got good reviews so we tried it. There are some interior rooms but most like ours face outside. No elevator so pick first floor. All parking right outside your door. Thought cars and people noise could be an issue but was no problem. Beds were wonderful and got a good nights sleep. Continental breakfast too. Very close to water so we took a stroll after walking to downtown restaurant. Great place to stay

So we wanted to be about 200 miles out of Sturgis and I found this place on trip advisor, its an older building but it had everything we needed; indoor pool, nice breakfast, centrally located in town and several restaurants to choose from. They had a wash station for the bikes which was quite nice, across the street we were able to grab some beers and liquor, we sat out on the picnic table and just chilled before dinner. Overall it was quite nice and a block up from the river.

Very good experience in this older motel. Very large room with king and queen bed. Also had couch and chair area., Very spacious and clean. Our room was next to the highway but very quiet, didn't hear traffic at all. It was very busy when we checked in, I was in a line of about 5 people. The clerk maintained professionalism, didn't get ruffled or rushed wth the onslaught of guests. Will definetly stay again on our trip out or home from the Black Hills. Only reason for Very Good and not Excellent is there was no refrigerator or microwave in the room.

This is an older property but in good condition with everything you need for a good sleep. During the summer travel season rates along I-90 can be pricey, but this hotel is very reasonable. The room was well equipped, clean, comfortable and the breakfast was hardy enough to keep us going until late evening.The internet service was good and easy to access. We did not use the pool but looked inside. It is located in a seperate building as is the hot tub. I had noticed signs for this Best Western many times but we rarely stop in Chamberlain. It is a few miles off the interstate but that means it's quieter and you can get out and walk along the river or find a place to eat in the downtown area. If you are looking for fancy, keep looking. If you just want a pleasant overnight stop this is a great find.

We were greeted by a nice lady when we checked in. Our room was nice and clean. It was one of those places you could actually feel comfortable sleeping in the bed.There were nice sheets and pillows on the bed. The bathroom was nice and roomy.The towels were also nice. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Close to the downtown area and river. Shame there wasn't a river walk or park nearby. Room was nice and the staff friendly. Walked the two blocks too main street. Found a nice friendly restaurant for dinner in time to sleep. Would stay again if in the area.

Excellent staff and exceptionally clean property. Located on the banks of the Missouri river. Absolutely beautiful. Staff is very helpful and have directed us to several good places to eat. If you are in the area and need a great place to rest your head. This is the place.

The place was clean except for the washcloth bunny on the bed that had black in the bottom and the dirty towels hanging behind the bathroom door (I assume from a previous guest). I think the cleaning staff just probably missed grabbing them, ut there was a booger on one and that grossed me out. If the dirty towels had not been there, this would have gotten a 5 star rating all around. Check in was quick, check out was super quick, breakfast was adequate, and the mattress didn't leave me sore in the morning. It was not a super fancy place, but for a motel, it was nice and I had no problems with it and it did not smell.

Spent 1 night while passing thru. Checked in around 5:30pm and it was 103 degrees outside. Got to room on second floor and it was slightly cooler and less humid than outside. Turned temperature down and fan to high. Thermostat said 75. Went to pool area for the next 3 hours to cool off. Ordered pizza and played cards. Pool was nice temperature and hot tub was nice as well. Went back to the room and wasn't any cooler. Internet was slow and spotty. We didn't complain about either as it was after 8pm and we knew there was nothing really that could be done at that hour. Hoped that after the sun went down and thru the night, the room would get cooler. It didn't and we all had a long hot night. Breakfast was nice as they had many hot and cold choices and the staff was very attentive. All staff was very friendly. Location was good too. No elevator, but we have teenage kids to help with luggage. Would stay again and ask about the Air Conditioner earlier!

The receptionist at check in was wonderful and helpful. We wanted a quiet room in the back and that's what we got. We didn't hear a sound all night, the A/C unit was very quiet and we were very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, the sausage gravy and biscuits was very good, as were the waffles. The yogurt, pastries, bagels, etc. section was very good also. The coffee was good, not the usually, weak coffee one usually encounters at a hotel. The temperature in the lobby and breakfast room was very comfortable. This is an older Motor Inn and has been completely updated.

The staff was extra helpful with our late arrival. The beds were so comfy, room clean, and neighborhood was really quiet. Tasty breakfast with helpful staff. Really nice location near the Dignity statue. I'd definitely stay again.

This best Western is located in a quaint little town that wraps around the Missouri River. You drive in on a solid cement pad. It isn't the most attractive looking site that we were pleasantly pleased with the large rooms, cleanliness of the rooms and most definitely the staff. You may wonder why I am only giving it a three rating. When we came in a beautiful young lady by the name of Daniel greeted us. After we registered she gave us a couple suggestions as to where to eat. Sidenote, we ate at a little marina bar. The busted nut had a special that night prime rib sandwich. Excellent. We questioned the front desk before we went to bed about the fact that the room was not cooling down, we were assured it would cool down but that it cooled slowly. After not sleeping most of the night, We drag ourselves out of bed. I don't come to a hotel to swim or to admire the furnishings. I come to a motel to sleep. This morning we went in for coffee and the lobby was so hot you couldn't stay in there, it was at that point we were told the owner instructed the staff to turn the AC off at 11 pm We spoke with the receptionist, and then the day manager. She apologized profusely. She was a lovely lady and offered to cut our room cost in half. Although this is a generous conciliatory response, the fact is we drove 10 hours yesterday to not sleep last night and to be facing 10 hours driving today. She said our room was next to the boiler room… Ain't that the truth! I would love to give them a higher rating.

The hotel is very nice. Plenty of parking even with all the boats that was there for the fishing tournaments that was going on in town.The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was very good. The location was excellent for fishing the river. Would stay there when we go back.

In the summer, I always stay at this motel on the way to the Black Hills. This was my first winter stay and it was just as pleasant as my summer stays! Even though there was a ton of snow, the parking lot was cleared nicely and the room was very comfy.

This hotel is an older hotel. The rooms are accessed from the outside via a common walkway. Physically challenged people will want to request a first floor room. The rooms themselves were okay. The layout was a bit odd however. There were two queen beds but they were separated by the bathroom area. Each room had a pocket door for privacy. Odd, but that was all really. The bathroom had been partially remodeled in the past. There was a new basin and counter. The shower surround had been replaced but the tub had a bit of a step over height. Not huge, but be aware. I did not have breakfast at the common area so I cannot comment on the quality. There was a fish cleaning station located onsite. This was not covered so this will be a bit warm in the summer. I believe there was some water available, but I did not pay too much attention as I was not there to fish. The hotel was fine. If selections were limited and this was available I would stay here again.

I had a great overall stay here and I actually slept great the whole time. The room was comfortable and welcoming and so were the staff. I didn't get to the hot tub or pool but everything else was great. Oh yes, the coffee was really good.

Biscuit gravy had a citrus/lime flavor that was unexpected. Coffee from the coffee machine did not have a pleasant flavor. There was a smoke odor in the bathroom. We could hear other guests through the walls. We are Rewards members and have AAA, but were not given a discount on the room.

I was on a pheasant hunt with 17 other friends and they always stay at this motel. My friend that I was sharing a room with snores, so we got a perfect room. When you open the door there was a nice size bedroom, then you walk into a bath with another bedroom on the other side of the bath, which made it perfect for us as I wake very early and he snores LoL. I was waking up about 4 or 5 AM and would quitely dress and walk over to the main lobby. They have a free breakfast with waffles, boiled eggs, cereal, muffins, donuts, etc and plenty of hot coffee. There is also an indoor pool with a jacuzzi.. The motel also set up a room, without beds, were we could get together, talk, watch TV and have a drink. Enjoyed my stay.

This hotel had nice rooms, comfortable beds, rooms are clean and the housekeepers cleaned the room efficiently. The hotel staff was very nice and explained everything very nicely. The location next to the Missouri River was very easily accessed.

I had to tell the receptionist my zip 3 times and it was still wrong on my receipt. It was extremely cold so I didn't even look at the pool. Motel was very busy with pheasant hunters. No microwave in my room unlike other best westerns I've stayed in. Only fruit at breakfast were apples. The room was clean and warm.

This was our 19th trip and we always stay at Lee's Best Western. It is clean, attractive, and has all the amenities. There is an indoor pool and hot tub that are really helpful after a long day of pheasant hunting in cold windy conditions. The staff are helpful and courteous.

Driving between Rapid City and Sioux Falls, Chamberlin is an Oasis late at night when tired. Lee's is a quiet place to crash into bed before crashing on the road. There just isn't a choice place but Lee's fits the bill. Average but clean and friendly.

Great service, no issues, amenities were in exceptional condition, new refrigerators, room finishes were in great shape, nice to see an establishment that realizes that updating finishes (carpet, ceiling tiles, etc. is important)

Not many choices in Chamberlain and this was the cheapest ($70+). Older hotel but great staff. Hotel/room is nothing fancy but for a 1 night stop it suffices. Does offer a nice free breakfast. Short 5 minute drive off I-90.

Great front desk staff at check in and checkout (was same person). Property is older and feels like it could use some renovation. Bfast was average. There is a great place specializing in wings and pizza just across the street -- nice to be able to walk to a great supper site.

Stayed as was best choice for an overnight stop over. Keep in mind older hotel from the 60-70s. They make up for this in friendly down Home attitude and price. Clean, comfortable, and economical night stay. Set your expectations accordingly.

I liked this motel for the most part, the only negative we had was there was not a fridge in the room. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We found the it to be close to places to eat and a short walk gives you a nice view of the river.

My title sort of says it all. Something amusing though - I was assigned to Room 1. I don't ever think I'll have a room with that number anywhere else I stay. The fourth review down from mine says that they were put in this room and found a dead roach in their bathtub. I didn't have a similar experience, but I agree that the bedding is old and tired. Seemed clean enough. This room was unusual in that it had both a King bed and a Queen. Note: they have no rooms with just one King, and only two other rooms like mine where they combine a king and a queen. That seems rather unusual. Because the bathroom was so old and grungy looking, I actually skipped taking a shower. On the plus side, the separate area for the bathroom counter was huge, which I like for spreading out my typical "female" bathroom necessities. I did not go to their breakfast, and didn't expect much of it anyway. I would not stay here again, though I can't say that my experience was all that bad.

I visit Chamberlain every year, and I always stay at Lee's Best Western. The people are very down-to-earth, and they genuinely care about your comfort. The hotel is clean, the beds are very comfortable, and everything is within walking distance.

We were pleasantly surprised at how large the room was. There was both a king size and queen size bed plus recliner and two desk chairs. Separate sink area outside bathroom which is a plus. Breakfast had more items then we expected with both hot and cold selections. Overall a good value. We prefer hotels to motor inns, but would stay here again.

Pretty easy check in but room was sub par. The carpeting was cheap and dirty looking. The sheets looked clean but were thin and barely fit on the bed. Mattress and pillows were beyond their prime. Breakfast was meager and cold. Will not return.

We checked in, went to remove 11 and as soon as he walked in the door that was a roach crawling up the wall. The people at the front desk. It was funny. They did move us to a different room and that was room number 1 and as when I was getting ready to take a bath, I found a dead roach in this room. YUCK!!!! I have never stayed in a room with roaches but I did the other night. This hotel is very old and not well maintained. I would find somewhere else to stay and skip this place at all costs. I hardly ever write bad reviews on TripAdvisor but this one was so bad I found the need to.

hotel was nice and parking right by our room was nice so we didn't have far to bring our bags back and forth. breakfast had very good choices hot and cold wish there was hot eggs instead of hard boiled, but otherwise biscuits and gravy waffles, breads, juices and cereals was good. Easy to find and right by the Missouri river.

This is a very nice place to stay. Easy to find. Great staff. I have been coming back for ten years when I come to the St.Joe's PowWow weekend, The rooms are clean, the complimentary breakfast is very good and it is very quiet. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone planning to visit here or just as a great place to stay when traveling further west.

I have stayed at this Best Western motel several times over the years and have always been very satisfied with all things. The people working there are friendly and willing to help in any way, the rooms have been very clean and comfortable.

The room had a bad smell of dogs. a little baking soda or a good vacuum of the room might help. Be advised that they do accept pets, no problem but the room was really smelly. Some horrible person parked just outside or our room and left his doges in a cage all night in the back of his truck. they barked at two a.m. He walked them at 2 a.m. and again at 6 a.m. and they barked some more...not the hotels fault, but the smell was

Location was nice, by the Missouri River. Also, close to the St Joseph Indian school. Wish we could have stayed longer. We were not very happy with the breakfast. Doors to the pool were always open and not in the main building.

We stopped here on the way from St. Paul to Spearfish. We were very happy with the room which was very clean and had nice, clean white bedspreads, a thermostat and good wi-fi. The beds and pillows were very cofortable. We stayed at 3 Best Westerns (Chamberlain, Spearfish and Custer) and at each one, they include the wi-fi access code on the envelope with your key-card. At the Chamberlain Best-West, there are chairs and little tables and a picnic table outside and it's nice to sit out there after spending so much time in the car. I really appreciate the free breakfast which has plenty of choices including biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, various cereals, hard boiled eggs, orange juice, waffles,mini-muffins and donuts and more.It saves a lot of time and money and you can get back on the road that much sooner. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I really think that this motor inn is a very good value

This was one of the best deals we received on our trip out west. You can tell this hotel continues to keep updated and it's not just cosmetics. Friendly staff and nice hot tub. And all at an affordable price. I am very impressed.

the BW Motor Inn designed as a strip mall. The swimming pool was located entirely in another building which discouraged us from using it. However, the beds were very comfortable, the staff was friendly, the morning breakfast was ok. What we didn't care for was the fly's which entered because of the way the rooms were set up...something that couldn't be helped.

Driving from Chicago to Black Hills area I chose Chamberlain as our overnight stop. Perfect Perfect Perfect! Easy access to and from Interstate. Clerk at front desk was very friendly.She knew the area very well and suggested a great place for dinner after a long drive. The hotel does show signs of wear and tear. Doesn't any structure. It is well maintained and clean! We stayed in a room with one queen bed. The room did not have a refrigerator or microwave. No big deal. I don't know if they offer them in any other rooms. We had our cooler and we were here for only one night.The room was very clean and updated. The bed was comfy! ....(keep this in mind)....We stayed in a room with access from lobby. There are only 2 floors. Rooms with outside doors right to your car or rooms with access from hotel lobby.( No elevators.They do have a luggage lift.) Breakfast area was clean and well stocked. Waffles,juice, and coffee. Staff was very friendly.I do recommend this hotel.I will stay here again when in the area.

This is a very nice and well-run hotel. The staff was friendly and professional, and the entire hotel including my room was very clean. I did not have any problems at all during my stay, and I will certainly stay here again the next time I am in town. The breakfast was decent, and does include hot items. Breakfast is not quite what you get at other places, but your not paying an extra 30 dollars for it either. I thought the cost was a great value compared to how nice this place is.

We've stayed here several times over the years en route to Keystone, Deadwood, Spearfish, & Sturgis area from Minneapolis. Great priced, comfortable rooms! Pool & hot tub too! We will reserve here again next time we travel!

It was just a stop over for one night for me and my husband across the state. I was a good one night stay. Except we woke up to a stinky garbage can out side our door next to our vehicle, flys every way. Rooms smelled a little musty, but it was 95 degrees out. But probably would stay again on an over stay.

Although we only had one queen size bed, we found the hotel room to be small and felt cramped in it. We did get a good night's sleep. Since we had skipped breakfast the night we checked in, we were hungry in the morning. However, the selection of breakfast items provided was extremely meager with fewer offerings than we had experienced at other hotels. I even had to use a tea bag that I had brought from home as there was only one type of black tea provided by the hotel.

We needed a room for the night as a stopover during our trip across South Dakota. We chose this location because it was only about two hours from the Badlands and the price was right. It was easy to find and was clean and comfortable. The building was showing some age, but was well maintained. That said, the best part was the staff. The clerks that I spoke to were friendly and super helpful. The seemed to enjoy showing off their town of Chamberlain. One quirk though; the pictures on the walls in our room were hung very high, almost to the ceiling. I wondered if they were hiding something, or if a very tall person installed them.

Hotel fully booked but was very quiet. Good sized room with table and 2 chairs and still lots of room.Breakfast room was very clean and items replenished quickly. Coffee tasted like coffee. Great price. Would stay again.

This hotel is very beautiful inside and out! We truly enjoyed the location. We went for a long walk and the area was totally wonderful.. We enjoyed the hot tub. The breakfast was great(as always)!! Thanks for all the ways you make us comfortable and happy!

Large room, nice beds, nice bathroom, nice air conditioner, nice carpet and nice breakfast! All the people working were very nice and helpful and their appearance was good.We have stayed at a lot of more expensive hotels that employee's were not like this. I have stayed in other hotels in Chamberlin and this is best I have been at. I will stay here on my next visit for sure!

Love the queen double set up, beds very comfortable. T V in both rooms, bath in center. Breakfast better than the usual fare in moderate priced hotels. Would definitely stay here again if in the area !

This is an old property that has been updated. It is clean but not fancy. Folks are friendly and you can pull up t the door of your room, which we like when on the motorcycle. Walking distance to several places to eat and river right beside it. Easy in and easy out. Exactly what I would expect from this type property.

Breakfast could have had a few more selections. Very convienent to gas and food. Perfect for passing through for a one night stay. The door to outside was a little old and rickety. Overall for the price and no pet charge the value was great.

It's a good motel. Not top of the line. Certainly far from the bottom. Price was right. Very comfortable bed. Nice breakfast (Waffles - Yum!) Very friendly staff. Gave great advice on where to go for dinner. Quiet, even though it was Sturgis week. Only problem was ants (NOT bugs!) on the corner table. I suspect some soft drink may have been spilled on the carpet, and the little tiny ants came out of the woodwork to clean it up. (We've all seen this in your own homes from time to time.) I showed some photos to the desk clerk, and she immediately made a small price adjustment that satisfied the both of us. Again, these were NOT bugs. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Without question.

An Awesome experience at this Motel style of Hotel.... GREAT Staff with a Beautiful setting, clean and very safe. The added bonus was the type of fellow travellers that your hotels attract, as I spoke with many fellow travellers that were friendly and great sources of information. Great for kids of all ages. The staff was very friendly and helpful going out of their way to ensure that I had what I wanted and needed. And if you can make the time to check out the Akta Lakota Museum & Cultural Centre and St. Josephs Indian School... it is well worth the time spent... I wish I had allowed for the Full day of touring this facility.... I will be back!

The hotel is not off I-90, but three miles down the highway. It is easy to find. The lady at the front desk is extremely nice. Check in/check out was easy breezy. The local fisherman and fisherwomen were nice, but there were a lot of rude/inconsiderate guests in the hotel and pool area. Parking is tight so get a spot, and walk into town. The river and bridge were beautiful to look at.

We were very pleased to find this Motel right on the river. After a long day of riding we were ready to relax. This is not a fancy motel, but very clean and accommodating. The price was very reasonable, and an Italian pizza shop is right across the street with a great view of the river. We would stay here again, and recommend it to be very satisfactory. Loved the large vanity for bath/personal items. The hair dryer did not work in the room, but was replaced immediately by the desk clerk with a smile. Bed was very comfortable.

This motel, which is not located right off I-90 but is in the center of town, however fairly easy to find, has the appearance from the exterior and the lobby that it is an older motel (eg the rotary phone in the lobby). However, the rooms appear to be newly renovated and/or well maintained over time. When I checked in, the clerk I dealt with was friendly and knowledgeable. The room I had was very spacious. They have a well-stocked breakfast buffet in the morning.

Hotel is dated, but you get what you pay for. There was hair in the tub. Good thing about it is it had two seperate rooms with the bathroom in the middle. Great hot breakfast. Had a good selection of food, including waffles.

This motel is worn and shows it in many ways. It serves fishing clients, their guides, and the construction industry workforce. Passing general tourists might be advised to pass onward. The staff are the high point of the visit, friendly and attentive.

This particular hotel is actually a motel. It was pretty clean but old and needs a renovation. Breakfast was served,but was nothing to get excited about. Staff was just doing their job. The motel was definitely adequate but overpriced.

We spent one night at Lee's Best Western on our way to a wedding in Keystone, SD. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was good and staff during check-in was very pleasant. Would stay again if the opportunity ever came up.

It took awhile for the a/c to start working (78 degrees outside) but it finally kicked in. Nothing fancy, but it suffices, and in May, was reasonably priced. An ok place to stop if you are only passing through on the interstate.

We had stayed at the AmericInn last year, which was also nice and pet friendly, but this was a better option for us. We prefer rooms that have their own entrances and are close to a downtown for walking. The Best Western fit the bill. There were several restaurants very close, and a quaint little downtown that was fun to walk through. Trees were blooming and the dogwood in front of the post office smelled so sweet. Hotel is right on the river, but faces the other direction. Beds were comfy, and breakfast was good. There was a woman keeping the breakfast area very clean and food fresh. Parking lot was great for our truck pulling a trailer. Lots of vehicles with boats were parked there as well, fishing opener. Book early to get an outside room on ground floor. Highly recommend.

We felt the Best Western of Chamberlain, SD was a good value. We stayed in a 'double room' which had 4 double beds in it. Convenient when traveling with kids. Decor could use upgrading, but it was fine. Good variety of foods provided for breakfast.

This hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable. They area was very nice, took a walk around town, very homey feeling with the river so close by and the park was beautiful. Would stay again if in the area.

Super easy to fine, this motel was very homey, everyone was very friendly. The rooms were very quiet, and super clean. Beds a little hard, but I like plush. They were comfortable though. I absolutely loved the recliner, could have taken that one with me. The pool and hot tub(very hot) were clean and plenty of towels. Easy off the interstate, and a great choice. I would definitely stay here next time I'm in the area.

This is a clean, nice place to stay in Chamberlain in a very pretty location. We stay here every time we are passing through the area. I really believe it's the best value for your money! Rooms are large also.

For the price of under 80.00 we got a quiet room with a king and queen bed (no special request for that). The room was huge, comfy beds and pillows. Hot water in shower. Check in was less than 4 minutes. Haven't had breakfast yet but the coffee in room was fine. Heated pool for all seasons use. Fish cleaning station outside near room 1 convenient for people using the Missouri River was a nice touch! Free WiFi and parking.

This motel is a few miles off the highway but if heading west, you continue across the bridge and back on to the main road. The motel is a bit older but you can see where they made some updates on the inside. The rooms aren't bad but nothing to write home about. They do include a free continental breakfast which is pretty solid and enough to get you going. I would stay here again if my travels require a night in Chamberlain, SD.

Our stay was excellent. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and I felt at home there. I was able to bring my dog and she was treated with the same respect I was!

Worst hotel I have ever considered staying at. Go some where else. Dirty outdated rooms unclean. Desk clerk was only good thing at this place. Great location could be a good place with a lot of work and cleaning.

I have stayed at this location. Room was fair, it was roomy. People was nice. they tried to make it good. However hotel being very old everything was old. Sink in bathing area was not draining slow. Each time you had to use the faucet you had to wait for it tp drain. They did not have elevator to go to next level. Ice machine in the 1st level did not work so you had to go upstairs to fill you cooler. The young lady at the front desk did not know her town so she sent us to wrong place twice. Breakfast for the price was bellow average. So I recommend if it is not a problem drive to next town and stay there for the same amount of room rate.

The hotel isn't as clean as I would have liked. There were flies all over the room and the air conditioning system in our room didn't work properly, which, caused me to wake up and find BUGS in my bed.

My husband and I stayed in this motel September 28. About a week and a half later I realized I lost a ring. I contacted the motel. I described the ring. They thought they had it, sent me a picture of it and it was my ring! I was so happy. What a trustworthy person who cleaned our room and also the people at the desk! Thank you so much for your honesty. This ring means a lot to me and even more now because of the great staff at this motel!

People outside their rooms on the first floor smoking and talking so it was a gathering near our room. Toilet was very slow and you had to hold the handle to get it to flush, ugh! Bed was comfy and room was clean. No extras in the room like shampoo etc but breakfast was very good. Just a one night stay.

Checked in with no reservation on Sunday . Nothing fancy but clean and good price .we got a suite which is 2 rooms sharing a bathroom with pocket doors between them both and was perfect for this party of 3.shower didn't have a lot of pressure but it did the job.One room had mino frig and a recliner, queen bed and the American legion memorial bridge over Missouri river visible in the rear window .Other room had queen bed with 2 chair table and both had small flat screen tv's .The restaurant across the street" upper crust" was so convenient with pizza and pasta and was by far my favorite pizza ever . And that's saying a lot .I'm over 50 ! Not fancy but gets the job done and was only 112.00 after tax for 3 to stay . Convenience store caddy corner to motel and FULL grocery with deli within 2 miles . Has free breakfast in the morning with: waffle bar, bagels and muffins, egg squares,bacon orange and apple juice, cinnamon rolls and cereal . Would definitely stay again. Was a Bentley parked in front of our room and it was safe all night. Quiet town and away from interstate noise.You feel safe there. Most occupants were like us,traveling to and from Custer State Park which is about 2 1/2 hours away .No smoking rooms but table and chairs out front here and there with ash trays.Free ice in lobby . Indoor pool and sauna. Gotta search out vending machines (on 2nd floor above front desk/ lobby ). Rated 4 stars per drains were a little slow and some rusty spots on bath tub. Clean and comfy though .

We were very happy we picked this hotel. The room price was very reasonable, and everything we saw was as clean as could be. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I was impressed with the variety available at breakfast--the usual toast, bagels, cereal etc. as well as hardboiled eggs, yogurt, fruit cups, a waffle station with different toppings (like Nutella!), bacon, French toast sticks and so on. On a road trip this is exactly the kind of hotel we hope we'll find. I highly recommend staying here.

Everything was as expected, very clean and efficient! I spent most of the time out of the room but nothing could have been better and the location is great, especially if you want to feel part of the community.

The room was smallish but perfectly fine. Cleanliness and parking were all ok. Easy to get to the location from freeway. Internet was not super zippy. The town has some serious slow speed limits so watch out.

We received a nice rate at this Best Western Motor Inn and also received an upgrade when we arrived. It seems it is Best Western policy to not offer pack-n-play or cribs to their guests. They were accomodating and gave extra pillows and we made a make shift area for our little guy to sleep in and it worked perfectly. We used the pool and it was nice enough. It might be a good idea on the hotel's part to keep the door shut so bugs stay out however. Would stay again if in the area.

Stopped in Chamberlain due to the Al's Oasis signs along the Interstate looking for an over nights stay during our Cross County Road trip to Yellowstone. We were looking at Al's, but they had a catastrophic fire there in May and therefore had no rooms. They had signs for a resort, checked them but they had no rooms. So we crossed back over the river and found this Best Western. Best Western doesn't have a good reputation anymore, but this place just looked nice and well kept. The room we had was very nice, and the price was really great. Clean, comfortable, and affordable, just what we needed. The room was really nice, and quite, as next morning woke up and my wife opened the door and there was a strong thunder storm outside. Didn't hear this with the door shut, surprised. The room had everything we needed and really commented on how nice it was, and how we were proven wrong about Best Western. Kudo's to the Owner here at Lee's. Nice job, and I recommend this property to anyone.

Best Westerns seem to be improving in general. Lee's Inn though seems to be a good quality, good service motel because its what they have always done. Our room was very clean, modernized, and convenient. The staff could not have been more helpful. We will stay here again.

Stopped for the night on the way to the black hills. One of the cleanest hotels I've been to! Great location, quiet, great pool and reasonable priced. You can tell the owner and his staff take pride in their hotel.

The entire room smells of mold and musty. Plus we had an unexpected guest in our room a big fly. This place is in need of a an update. Went to get breakfast and the scrambled eggs are out. I asked about it and they said they weren't making any more and it was so early in the morning. I would avoid this hotel if possible.

My husband and I stayed here overnight this past Friday. I like to stick with Best Westerns because, of all the chains, they seem to allow the owner to express more individuality in the brand. With that said, this motel definitely shows its individuality. I have nothing bad to say about the place, just that it needs some improvements. The room was clean, the shower was hot, and the bed was quite comfy. The problem is it's starting to show a bit of age. Some of the trim and fixtures could be jazzed up a bit. Maybe replace the drop ceiling in the room? A part of me liked the old school feeling of the place - enough so I Googled the motel and found an old postcard image. Not a lot has changed. Anyway... We would most definitely stay here again. The staff was friendly and accommodating (I needed a shower chair and one was readily available). The breakfast staff was friendly, though the variety was a bit lacking when compared to what I'm used to at other Best Westerns. Chamberlain's a great place and so is Lee's. Lee's just needs a bit of a reno - either modern it up or give it a cool retro vibe from when it was brand new.

The room smelled so musty, it was overwhelming. My sister and I had to put lavender oil under our nose to try to make it through the night. The whole room would need to be updated, or at least maybe the carpet to get rid of the smell. My sister found a bug in her bed. The sheets on both beds also had stains on them. The bed skirts and fitted sheets must not stay on the bed since they have them safety-pinned down. To top it off, my sister found a bug in her bed. The front desk closed at 11:30, so when we tried to call about the bug, there was no one available to do anything. The tv remote also didn't work properly, as whenever you pushed a button, it didn't do what the button was supposed to do. Overall, we had a very crappy night and were super glad to get out of there in the morning.

This facility is getting a little dated and needs to be updated. The outside walkways especially towards the rear stairway were not very clean with garbage bins out in the open. Not super bad but for a Best Western Plus improvements are definitely needed.

This hotel is a secret. Do not let the plain outside appearance frighten you. Rooms are large, quiet and comfy and being able to park your vehicle outside your door makes this more than value pricing.

The room was cool. Two separate rooms each with a TV. Clean but no hot water in the morning. I ran the water 15 minutes but had to take a cold shower. I told the lady at the desk but she didn't seem concerned. The breakfast was good. The best waffles.

We stayed at Lee's last year and there was several things that needed to be repaired. The pool and hot tub was cold, and there was a sliding door in our suite that was broken. This is we came back and had the very same room. Door fixed and so was the pool area. Actually I think it was much cleaner than I remembered. Even the restaurant across the street had turned a 180. Its very close to that very beautiful body of water. If you go there take a nice walk. Pet fee too high. $30.

The room furniture, carpeting, bedding were spotless. New wall coverings in shower and the bedroom. Breakfast has sausages patties, French toast sticks, hard boiled eggs, waffles and apples. Only negative is their are crickets outside trying to get in. Would stay here again.

We stayed one night on our way to Yellowstone Park. Room was clean, the bed was comfortable and staff was friendly. They had an ok breakfast, so it served its purpose. The town was nice & had a drink at the Silver Dollar bar.

Let's get the possible drawback out of the way now: two stories but no elevator. So leave that HEAVY bag in the car if you draw an upper room! We had Room 32 in the wing above the office--interior corridors in this wing. Other wing is exterior entry. Our room was quite small but not a problem. Had sink outside the bath/toilet area, which is a plus in my book. All fixtures looked new, all tile clean and whole, all carpets clean and new. Bed good with very good pillows. In short, just fine! Breakfast was typical -- nothing really good but edible. Staff pleasant.

We were very impressed with this little town, and as usual our room was very nice. Danielle checked us in , she was very polite and helpful in suggesting where to eat. The breakfast was good. Karen checked us out and was very nice and professional. I would stay here again if in the area.

The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and breakfast was served on time. Had coffee all night long available for us. Chamberlain is a small town and the Best Western was more than adequate for our needs.

Our stay was just for an overnight while traveling to Glacier. Overall, the hotel was clean, the pool and spa were both warm and clean as well. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The gal at the front desk was very busy with folks checking in and taking phone calls, she was very patient. We would have liked to had a free breakfast for the cost of the room. We did sign up for the rewards offer and that's why we chose BWestern over any other hotel. It was a good choice and would recommend it to anyone staying in the area. It was right off the highway with a gas station across the street.

We enjoyed the stay overall. It was cool in the room and we were able to set the temperature ourselves. The shower was excellent and a good temperature. The only suggestion I would like to make would be that breakfast would be served beginning at 6:00 AM instead of 6:30 AM. We enjoyed the breakfast because we got a good hot meal and there was plenty of variety.

Dated and tired appearing hotel with exterior facing doors that open out into the motor lodge. Adequate parking. Adequate breakfast chocked full of high carb and high calorie foods such as pastries, bagels, sweet cereal, French toast, cinnamon rolls, juice,coffee, as well as a small offering of healthier foods to include boiled eggs and bacon. Room is basic but met our needs. Do NOT expect fancy as you will not get it here. Room was clean but the toilet needs a good cleaning. Paint and plaster on the walls needs attention. Ice machine is located in the lobby. Soda machine is outside the lobby door. No elevator. All that said, there are few hotel choices in this area of SD. Here, you will get a clean and comfortable room at a price ($90/night) that should deliver more.

This motel is dated. It could use some sprucing up. We wanted fresh air and the windows didn't work. It was clean, however, and the motel was very busy. It was located across the street from the river, and we had hoped to get a room that had a view of the river.

VERY well kept pool & hot tub in separate building. Two rooms each with double bed & tv separated by a bathroom - perfect for privacy. One room had a small table & chairs, the other a recliner. Lady at checkin was helpful & cheery. All rooms open to parking lot. Wonderful restaurant across street; "Upper Crust". 5 mins from Akta Lakota museum & public swim beach.

Had two recent visits and both were great. The property was clean and in a good location. Friendly staff. Breakfast area was well run and clean. Very clean rooms. Would plan to stay again in the future.

This was a nice location for a casual pet friendly stay, beautiful park near by which was great for walks with our dog. The hotel was a great price for the quality of the room. The hotel needed updating but was perfect for our trip across the country.

Our room had a musty odor when we got to our room-but after turning the air on a while we didn't notice it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. One thing that stands out is that they got breakfast ready for us earlier as we were leaving early on a fishing excursion.

Older hotel with dated but functional furniture. Does not have an elevator so ask for ground floor if you cannot do the stairs. Convenient to I90. Chamberlain has limited eating facilities. Morning free breakfast was okay. Staff was friendly.

We had been vacationing for two weeks and it was great to find a hotel that had the same price as advertised. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The view of the Missouri was very nice and they had a nice breakfast. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

It was a rather tiny room, but it was very clean and it was within short walk to the Missouri River. The room featured a king size bed and it was reasonably priced. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Came upon this motel when passing through town. Were very pleasantly surprised with our room (actually 2 bedrooms in one suite), everything was very clean both inside and outside, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Will definitely seek this out when in Chamberlain again.

This hotel was welcome site after a long day of driving. When we stopped for the night we were looking for someplace that was not expensive and to get a goods night's rest before traveling on the next day. This hotel met and exceeded what we were looking for.

We just happened upon this hotel in Chamberlain and I was very pleased by the price and the friendly staff who checked us in. The town is charming to boot. No problems with WiFi. It's very clean and well-kept.

Would NOT recommend. We arrived during a rain storm, ended up leaving my rain jacket in the hotel room. I had to call twice to actually get them to check the room, and they made me feel like I was asking a lot of them to go and check. Then they told me they didn't have it/never found it. 100% sure it was left there, but they weren't going to help. Also, the wifi never worked in the room, even the next morning after the rain had stopped.

I didn't want to even give a one star. Booked 2 weeks out after looking at photos and reviews. Arrived late afternoon and was shocked at the sight of the place. Took my chances and asked receptionist to look at room. My wife came in with me and immediately we were on the cell phone looking for other places. We used our cell phone for the simple reason they don't have phone books in the room. I did go back to office to ask for one, which brings me back to the receptionist, who was rude, short, and had a don't give a damn atitude. Our luck was so that no other hotels had openings and too much a drive for another city. No microwave, bathroom/shower so small that you had to back out to turn around! Pool is in a separate building across parking lot. Room had a damp, wet smell to it. Drive the extra distance to Radio City or Sioux Falls.

I needed a comfortable place to stay while driving cross country. Chamberlain is a nice town to stop in. This motel is very comfortable, very close to the river and to the services of the town. The motel seems to take pride in the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility

Great place to stay after a long days drive. It's located in a small town and has a warm heart atmosphere. Front desk was very helpful in getting checked in to finding a great place to eat. To be honest wasn't expecting much but came away with a wonderful experience.

When we first pulled into the property, I thought "Oh, no. What have we done?" The outside of the hotel was "iffy" looking but the lobby, breakfast area and our room were all very nice. It was quiet and clean and the bed was very comfortable. My only complaint was that the smoking area was in the parking lot right in front of our room. Not only am I a non-smoker but I am severely allergic to cigarette smoke. My concern was that the smoke would filter into our room but it did not and we were quite comfortable. Breakfast was good and check-out was fast.

Older motel but clean and comfortable. We liked the layout of the room. Two bedrooms with the bathroom in between. The breakfast was a disappointment. I guess if you don't care what you put in your mouth it was adequate.

We rented a double room right next to the river, Chamberlin in itself is a cute and quaint little town and I liked the 15 minutes it took to tour downtown ;) The hotel room was exactly what you would expect, the water pressure in the shower was great but the pool and the breakfast left a lot to be desired

We get a double room with bath room in middle.. This works out well for my fishing partner and I. One room with front and back sleeping room. Only $80.00. New hot sausage and eggs poor. could not eat , sausage gave me bad after taste sfor hours., only had on badb ite

I stay at Lee's several times a year when I come out fishing, been staying there for 30+ years. Namely stay in early spring and/or late fall..Good location, good boat parking. rooms always clean and comfortable. friendly staff and owners.

For it being an older hotel it had the basics and was clean. We came in in the middle of a snow and it was starting to ice up so we were pretty happy they had a room for us.this is ridiculous that my review has to be 200 words since I said all that was nessuary

Been here before always stop on our way out west ,clean affordable ,nice view of Missouri River great pizza place across the street . get a good nights rest , then off to our favorite vacation destination ,South Dakota .

This is an older motor lodge but nice - - the rooms are dated and the beds are in need for replacing as we felt like were sleeping on a hill. Over all very clean. We walked across the street to a very nice Italian restaurant for dinner.

The employees of this hotel are exceptional. Everyone is friendly and ask how your stay is to this point. Premises are clean and I noticed someone is always cleaning and tidying up the property. The breakfast was excellent and the staff ensured the dining area was clean. The front desk people were friendly and knowledgeable about their community and points of interest

The Best Western Lee's Motor Inn is immediately before the Missouri bridge heading West. It's a rather old fashioned motel, but is kept up to a good standard. The lady at the check-in was friendly offering advice on where might still be serving food late at night (Charly's), as well as arranging for the pool to be kept open a little later than normal so I could get a swim. It's an excellent indoor pool across the car park from the main motel. (If you are coming from the West, be aware it's in Central Time Zone, an hour ahead of sights like Mt. Rushmore or the Badlands NP). The room was comfortable enough, though there was a little noise transmitted between rooms. Breakfast was hot and good. Recommended as a stay close to I-90, but well away from the freeway traffic noise.

Front desk was very pleasant and the beds slept well. The price was a little high for the location. There were a few flies in the room at the time of check in. The room was clean and roomy. The hotel in located in town a couple of miles off of I-90. There was a good pizza place within walking distance across from the hotel which made excellent salads.

We've stayed here for several years as a group, and it never fails to be a great stay. Highly recommended if staying in the area for business or pleasure. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, and the pricing is commensurate with the area and the season, if not better, overall.

Traveled by motorcycle. Rooms are outside access. Parked near door at ground floor room, which is good for security and old people not having to carry stuff off bike very far. Room and motel was average - decent but not special. Front desk person was good and helpful with questions. No complaints. I would stay here again. Room was $90, so price was high relative to its value compared to others on my 17 day adventure.

Location by the river is nice. Easy walking distance to downtown for a meal and shopping. Two blocks and you are there. Breakfast was mostly carbohydrates. Some bacon or scrambled eggs would be nice, rather than a sausage muffin. I would stay here again.

Has working pool & whirlpool.Staff is perfect.Everything worked.Everything was clean down to the pool.The breakfast was perfect,a lot to choose from.From waffles to biscuits N gravy to yogurt.Same with drinks they had orange juice,coffee,ice water.

Other than getting bit by a spider or something while sleeping the hotel was fine. Should have had refridge in room. Pizza place across the street was great. The place had nice apperance and rooms were very clean. The Bed was comfortable and the staff was nice. Breakfast was alright but I have had better at other hotels. They had Jimmy Dean breakfast egg and sausage to put in microwave. Not bad but not the best.

This is a older hotel and probably could use some sprucing up. The rooms could also use some redecorating, but the important thing is that it was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

just entering the property I could tell it was going to be a pleasant experience...very kept and inspiring look about it.. Very friendly and professional people that were there to help...we had a lot of laughs...

This is the second time we have stayed at this facility and both times have been good. Quiet, comfortable, easy to find. Located close to the river with a nice riverwalk to take after supper. The people working here are friendly and the breakfast is excellent. A good price for a good night's sleep is what we look for, and we found it here.

A truly restful night of sleep and a pretty good breakfast to get us started in the morning. Staff was very good and answered all our questions. A little hard to find, but worth it once found. Gas and store right across the street and a very nice view of the river out the back side of the building.

Don't expect the Hampton in. But for a small place its the right price. Clean. And across the street from the Upper Crust Resturant and a McDonald's. Right on the river. It just 5minutes off the interstate highway 90. If you pass the hotels off the exit stay on the road and drive into chamberlain.
