Best Western Vista Inn

John was so welcoming to my husband, myself and son coming into Buena Vista at midnight, unable to get into the air bnb we paid for!! John was quick to get us a room and so kind. We were so glad to be at the Best Western In Buena Vista, CO after a day's drive from Dallas, TX

The property was well maintained. Our room was very nice. The bed was amazing. The front desk staff were very friendly & helpful. They even recommended a nice place to eat in Buena Vista. Although we didn't eat the buffet breakfast it looked very good. We enjoyed our stay.

This was a cute small hotel with very very comfortable beds and fluffy pillows. Staff was very friendly and the hotel has a cute little café and country like store. The hot tub and pool was nice. This hotel is right off the main road and close to Main Street and nearby restaurants if you're going to have Italian we loved Crave. If you do wanna float in the Hot Springs and you go to Cottonwood Springs know that the dressing room is very small and crowded and it's really hard to change so I would suggest go ready to float and leave with your wet clothes on because trying to change into dry clothes was miserable. The reflexology foot massage was awesome and Erica did a great job on my daughter for a massage. Overall really nice visit to Buena Vista.

We had a great stay. The pool area is clean and stocked with towels for guests. The rooms are newly renovated. The front desk staff and breakfast staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoy good coffee and it is wonderful that they serve Seattle's Best coffee.

The front desk staff are very friendly and expedient in getting you checked in and on your way to your room. The s are very clean and the continental breakfast is always something that me and my boys look forward to with each and every visit. Just a great place to stay.

Softest bed i've ever slept in at a hotel. Was almost like my own home bed. Room was very comfortable and staff was very friendly and helpful. We came in early and they worked to accommodate us and get us in the rooms early. Had a very good selection of breakfast items in the morning.

My car's heater decided to stop working during a snowstorm traveling across Colorado with my cat. The front desk was able to find room for us and recommend somewhere that delivered dinner since I couldn't leave the hotel. Thank you for being the single ray of sunshine in the middle of a snowstorm.

We stayed one night at the Vista Inn during a Colorado color tour. We rented a mountain view king room. There are only two floors, but they do not have an elevator, so if that is a problem for you, choose a first floor room. The room was perfect for our needs. The bed and furnishings were modern, and the size of the room was perfect for two people. The carpet looked very clean with no spots or markings. The bathroom was very up-to-date, clean, and amply equipped with towels, soaps, shampoos, and makeup remover. The front desk lady was cheerful and guided us to a local Mexican restaurant that had good food at a fair price. She endorsed it by saying that is where she enjoyed Mexican food. All in all, it was a great stay at a fair price. We will stay there again.

Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Beds were comfortable and sheets were soft. Breakfast included gluten free options, so that was a plus. Overall, it is a nice hotel. We were in town for a wedding. Prices were a tad high and they required a two night minimum so we had to stay a day later than planned but it was peak leaf viewing season.

Large rooms with modern decor. Loved the sofa and modern light fixture. Large bathroom with plenty of towels. Breakfast had many options and breakfast area was well stocked and clean. They had a separate area for gluten free items. Property was well maintained and staff was friendly

The rooms were nice if very overpriced. Front staff is NOT helpful. Be careful if you dare ask for some bottled water to drink (even paid). Be ready for the lecture on use of disposable bottles and the hotel's water carafe's they forget to actually place in the room and assume you know all about. The hotel has no evening food options and there is only one pizza place within walking distance and a not great part of town. The pizza was good though.

2 day vacation. We have been staying here atleast 2x a year for 5 years. The gift shop is adorable but bring $$ it is a bit pricey but gosh they have amazing things there. The coffee shop makes great drinks and smoothies!. It's always clean here and very quiet. The mountain views are incredible and the crisp mountain air is so refreshing in the morning. Great small town with lots of fun stuff to do.

After 11 straight nights of motels, this was our first to have china coffee cups and real wine glasses! The bed was incredible as well, better than most. The entire facility was exceptionally clean and well lit at night. I didn't have to fear going out to my vehicle or simply walking around at night.

Nice place. Good location off the highway. Clean. Modern. Room was nice. I was a bit surprised to find a bathrobe for each of us! There's an indoor pool which looked nice. Breakfast was great. Big variety. Something for everyone. Dining area neat and tidy.

Facility was very clean and well managed. Great gift shop! Excellent customer sevice. Beds were very comfortable. Nice breakfast. Employees were very helpful and informed about community resources. Will definitely stay here again!

During a two week vacation through Moab and Colorado, what a surprise this hotel was! Very clean, spacious, well appointed rooms and a very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed at other, more expensive, supposedly "high end" hotels during this trip and the Best Western Vista Inn was by far the best! Highly recommend.

The entire property was very clean. The rooms were great and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The location of the Hotel was close to everything we needed. We will be returning to Buena Vista and when we do, we'll be staying here.

No elevator but staff quickly changed room to first floor upon request. Healthy options provided for breakfast. Grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Very close to BV river park with opportunities to hike,swim, paddle.

Comfortable place but not 420 friendly what so ever. I was told I can't even smoke on site in the designated smoking section. I haven't been treated this was ever in Colorado. Usually they are happy you are respectful enough to not smoke in the rooms.

We have gone the vrbo route but are frustrated with all the hidden fees and extra work involved in staying there, so we chose a more traditional hotel experience for this trip and were super happy! No hidden fees; the breakfast was awesome with multiple choices (including gluten free!), the swimming pool and hot tub were fun and the room was spotless. The bed was great....we will return to this hotel in the future!

The outside and location felt like a typical motel setting, but the room was as good as any 5 star hotel, clean and spacious. The continental breakfast was way better than I expected. Fitness center was small but served its purpose.

This hotel is wonderful! From the moment we came in every staff member was friendly, helpful, and kind. The room was plenty spacious, clean and comfy, and had great views (I enjoyed spotting the little chipmunks!). Wi-Fi was reliable, and the pool/spa was lovely. The hotel itself is very pretty, and I loved reading on the patio areas surrounded by beautiful mountains. And the little cafe/gift shop is a must visit!!!!

This is no ordinary BW. Creature comforts abound (scenery, comfort, rooms). Staff went out of their way to indulge our questions and concerns. We're light sleepers and need a quiet stay which is hard to find in hotels sometimes. We stayed here for our 37th wedding anniversary, and hubby and his bride are happy. BV is a fun and original place, authentically welcoming visitors. The breakfast here is amazing, far far better than most chain hotels. I do some travel writing on the side so noticing these details is in my DNA. You'll do the happy dance here.

New renovated hotel so everything looked great. Loved the environmentally sensitive features- reusable crockery and cutlery in the room and at breakfast, although individually wrapped items wasn't so good

Very clean, updated, with an extensive breakfast that offers many hot and cold choices. Every single employee was friendly and courteous, from the two front desk people, to the woman managing the breakfast room, to the room cleaners. They all continually asked if we needed anything and thanked us for staying there. We had better service here than we have had at some 5 star resorts. Rooms are spacious, beds are on the soft side. They were able to accommodate a last minute change to our itinerary, even on a holiday weekend. As a travel agent I am always looking for gems, and this is one. If you are in the Salida/Buena Vista area, it's a great place to stay!

Easy check in, lovely property ,clean inside and out! Staff was friendly, breakfast was good and lots of options, even gluten-free ones. Room was large, clean and super comfy bed. So happy with our stay!!

We really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean and the beds were super comfortable. The whole staff was amazing especially Rose who was running breakfast. We look forward to staying here on our next trip through Buena Vista

Checking in I asked about an upgrade. They want $50 to upgrade or, get an early check-in. UNACCEPTABLE! We got to our room, 2 beds, and one looked like someone had laid on it. I pulled the covers back & the sheets hadnt been changed. I asked for the desk clerk to come look & she agreed & quite upset about it. She changed the sheets & while helping her put the comforter on I noticed what looked like a blood stain on it. She took that also & brought me a new one. She was very professional! She gave us an undisclosed amount of points for this ordeal. So, if you check in to the BV BW, say"Hello" to Cate with a 'C'. She knows her job & does it well.

This is our 3rd time at this hotel and it really should be the model of where other hotels train their employees. Each time we have stayed there, the experience is excellent! The staff seem to really love their job and each other. It feels like a family where everyone works as a team with happiness and pride in their work. I'll give kudos to the owners and mgr, Leeann, who obviously love their work and you can tell it filters down through the rest of staff!

We found this property to be clean and comfortable. There was a hot/cold breakfast available. We enjoyed the pancake maker! There is a cute coffee/gift shop next door. The only problem was that our refrigerator was not working and had to be replaced with a new one. The night desk clerk was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a little pricey for a Best Western but we would stay here again.

Hotel was Immaculate, rooms were nicely decorated, beds were comfortable, water was hot, breakfast was a nice variety with good coffee ,and staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed at three well rated hotels and this was overall our favorite for this trip.

Annual fall trip to Buena Vista. Have stayed at this property several times. Staff and service are excellent. Comfortable, clean rooms, albeit starting to show age. Great selection of bland name breakfast offerings, with well prepared and tasty hot items included. Great location.

Rooms are clean, staff are friendly and knowledgeable. At breakfast they have good coffee. Well kept rooms. Very unique location close to all shop and restaurants nothing get better that this place. Staff are on point

We have been staying here on a fairly regular basis in order to hike the 14ers in the area - particularly Mt Harvard, Mt Columbia, and Mt Huron. I do prefer the rooms on the back side of the hotel not only because they are quieter but also because you often get to see wildlife such as deer and rabbits through the windows. The beds are super-comfortable and the staff is really kind. The breakfasts are especially good for this class of hotel and we always take advantage of the pool and hot tub! I would recommend that the hotel put in a bike rack. Tons of guests were putting bikes in their rooms as there was no place to lock them up. Seems like an easy fix.

Quiet room at back of hotel overlooks private stony patio & red rocks; saw a deer but no fire pit. (Front noisier on Highway.) Friendly staff! Lovely & large gift shop with specialty coffees (closes by 5 pm?). DO rent an OHV at vendor [across street from BWBV] to travel dirt roads nearby; tons of fun! Close to Mt. Princeton hot springs: go there! Travel nearby to historic St. Elmo ‘ghost town' & hike around. Eat at ‘Crave' in BV- you won't regret it!

Reception clerks were unfriendly, uncooperative and exhibited an astonishing "no can do " attitude. My friends and I will not be returning to this place. Request for water was answered with "we are out" when a case of bottled water was clearly visible sitting on the floor. Request to extend my stay due to bad weather was met with..." well I don't know, we will have to reclassify and move your room...blah blah blah. Parking our motorcycles led to a confrontation with one of the clerks.

First motel in a long time I have been in without an issue to mount to anything. The friendliest staff I've come across running a motel. Near as perfect as you can get. They left Hamden Inn and the likes in the dust. Rooms had slight wear (less than most motels) and they are redoing them this winter. I'm just wish I could find a place like this in my other Colorado towns I stay at. But I do not care for a Duvet on a bed. I sleep too hot and I have to remove it. Seems that all good motels are now using them.

The hotel was clean and the staff was sufficient, friendly and knowledgable. From maintenance, to the, front desk and breakfast area was well maintained. One of the better managed hotels that I have stayed in.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a plethora of options including gluten free! The premises was quiet, clean and well maintained. Close to town (but town is pretty small). Like most other hotels anymore, they don't clean daily or change out towels, but prices have still skyrocketed. Because I feel all hotels should still provide daily cleaning services (even if just to straighten up and refresh towels), I took one star away. Otherwise, this was a pleasant stay.

Breakfast was probably the best part about staying here. No elevator to 2nd floor. The hotel felt very dated after we stayed in a very modern Holiday Inn the night before. Place didn't feel very handicap accessible. Staff was VERY nice and polite. Hair in the bathroom from previous visitors was my least favorite part.

I got caught on that I-50 mess so I was very late. Yet at 12:30 am the night manager took the time to show me around and gave me a very nice welcome. The room was nice, clean, quiet and comfortable. And here is the best part, all this at a reasonable price.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and convenient location for enjoying Buena Vista shops, restaurants and park space, which was fantastic. Would absolutely stay there again!

The rooms are always very clean, personally we love the beds, depending on the room you get, the views of the mountains are beautiful. We have stayed here 4 times and will be staying here again in the future. Oh, and how could I forget the CUTE little coffee shop next door! It's a must!

The front desk staff was outstanding. So friendly and helpful. The rooms were the cleanest I've experienced in a long time. I love the black "make up" wash cloths. The staff helped me get a beverage from the vending machine that wasn't working. And the staff finally just gave me several bottles of soda. Great staff. My only complaint is that there is no elevator. I was there on business, so I had multiple bags and my suitcase. Trying to get up to the second floor was not pleasant.

This hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but the room was clean, the beds and pillows were very comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful and the gift shop was fun to browse. Plenty of parking. No elevator, so you'll need to request ground floor if you don't want to climb stairs. Fantastic smoothies in the gift shop. Never heard our neighbors. I'll stay here again.

We stayed 2 nights and spent our days at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. Location was central and easy to find. Staff was friendly! View from our room was nice. Room was clean. Quick, easy breakfast in the morning.

We were greeted by Katie who went out of her way to help us get hot tea because it was so very cold when we arrived. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. We stayed 2 nights. The beds were comfortable, it was reasonably priced, in a good location and had large fluffy towels in a nice large clean bathroom. The free breakfast was very good and Laurie, who worked in the dining area was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel and will stay here again when I am in this area.

Great stay for weekend away from the city! The room was large and clean. Breakfast had lots of options including heat up breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, make your own pancakes, and lots of grab and go breakfast and snacks. We will definatly stay here again!

It is hard to beat the quality, value and location of this hotel. The staff is excellent. The kids loved the pool and wide variety of breakfast options. This is a great launching point for many adventures.

Loved the comfy bedding, from the mattress to the pillows and the blankets. I even took the pillow case off to see what brand it was. I would love to have some of my own. Very comfortable room. Very clean accomodations.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed with Best Western Vista. The clerk at the front desk made me feel not only welcome but comfortable traveling during COVID times. My room was immaculately clean, comfortable and quiet. It was clear that while this hotel was built as a pretty standard small-town/highway hotel, the staff do everything they can to make sure that guests have a superior stay. I noticed that they'd taken some extra steps such as putting the TV remote in a plastic bag. The toiletries provided were good quality and the bed - wow. I slept better at the hotel than in my own bed. I didn't get a chance to go to the cafe but I did use the pool and gym. That hot tub was a real treat after a very long day of hiking on nearby Mount Yale. (OK, I didn't go in the pool, just the hot tub to salve my aching muscles!) Finally, the breakfast. I was so impressed that I sent a picture to my spouse who had recommended I stay here. It was the best hotel breakfast I've experienced in a long time - including a recent stay at a competitor branded hotel in Washington DC - (which was much more $$$). I went back for seconds from the automatic pancake maker and had a breakfast burrito too. In fact, it was so delicious, I overate at breakfast and essentially skipped lunch! Anyway, this was an excellent experience. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We have stayed here in past and it was awesome but this last visit was the worst with stomping above room then changed rooms then dogs barking all night long across from our other room, and microwave food that's why we cut our stay short and drove to Canon City

We checked into the Best Western after a crappy experience with another lodging choice in Buena Vista. The whole hotel is only a few years old. The lobby is big and clean and there's a luggage cart and plenty of places to sit and a bathroom in the lobby. The staff were friendly and understanding, they gave us a specific map to our room which was helpful and made finding our room extremely easy. We stayed in a standard queen room with two queen beds. There is tv, internet, a mini fride, a microwave, a safe, two clean robes, plenty of towels, toiletries, a desk with chair and a pull out bench. There were these cute book lights on both sides of each bed. There is a hair dryer and an iron. The view is very pretty, ours was facing the indian belly mountain. The hot tub was clean and hot, probably 90-100 degrees. The pool is around 70 degrees. We did not go down to breakfast so I cannot say anything about that. This is a good mid price hotel. I believe it's the most nice hotel in the town.

Always treat people at this hotel with kindness and you will be treated in kind. The people at this hotel really care about their jobs. Room and bathroom were clean. Beds were good. Pool area clean. Small hotel free breakfast that kids will enjoy. One other thing. Eat at Jans restaurant when in town and check out the hot springs near by. Also, there are great hiking trails along the river in town.

This was a perfect location for exploring the town and surrounding area. I enjoyed the large indoor pool. The breakfast was fine. We appreciated the comfortable king bed and also a comfortable sofa in the room we chose.

When they say you have great mountain views they aren't kidding. The view out our window was spectacular, the aspen leaves and mountains were amazing! The really interesting part is that the view included Highway 24, so we were fearful the traffic noise might be an issue--truly not the case at all! It was one of the quietest rooms we've stayed in for a really long time and with the proximity to the highway almost unbelievable! We would recommend this location to anyone, young or old, but it's a really great meeting place for families in our opinion!

The room we stayed in smelled of bleach and B.O. Add $100 to your room rate charge, because they won't tell you until check-in that they'll be assessing a $100 charge for "incidental expenses" that "might come off" after your stay. So, in other words, if housekeeping decides they want a pillow or a towel, you're going to pay for it. Don't be afraid to ask the front desk about it at check-out, though. The staff actually beat me to the punch and offered to "check" the room and initiate the "reversal" of the charge. What a racket. Also, note this BW is not in a "good" part of town (liquor stores, cheap motels, etc.). Drive another hour or so to find a better place to stay.

Best hotel in this mountain town, nice sized rooms, clean, good counter service as I stayed for 6 months weekly for business. Walking distance to (about 10 minutes) to some fun dining places, outdoors stores, active town of hikers, bikers, rafters, kayackers, World class adventures abound, Colorado Trail closeby and many peaks over 14, 000'. I was very pleased to stay at the BV BW and was treated well every check in, changed many reservations without an issue, always friendly service! Highly recommend staying here round the year!

Great hotel to stay at while in Buena Vista. From the time I checked in until the time I left I felt that the staff valued my business. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Our room had a mini fridge which is also a nice amenity. The complementary breakfast far exceeded my expectations as well…..good coffee along with a wide variety of foods and even glutten free muffins and bagels.

This hotel is okay as a mid-level hotel. Nothing fancy. On a main road and the mountain view is in the distance. Don't stay here for the view! My main problem is that the lock on our door didn't work. When we discovered the room would not lock (anyone could open the door without a keycard), we told staff who assured they would fix it. When we returned after a day ziplining and rafting, the lock was still not working. The manager reluctantly agreed to refund half of one night's rate (we were there two nights) but it has been two weeks or more now and no refund. He and the other site manager were absolutely rude to us, too. No apologies for the inconvenience and risk, no attitude of how can we help. Just an attitude of " you won't be back so we don't care". This place does NOT deserve your business. Stay elsewhere and find customer service. Buena Vista doesn't have a lot of options, but don't reward bad service!

When I was checking in I was overly berated by a front desk worker named Madison about having 3 little kids in the room with me and my wife as that the rooms are only for 4 people. I explained I booked over the phone and told them I had 5 people and the person that booked it said it was fine...I asked for an extra fleece blanket and flat sheet so the kids didn't fight over covers. She refused, another member Jared helped me out and got me the items. I could hear her yelling from the back office to not let me have the blanket because she already told me no. She must not have known I was standing there because when she walked out she turned extremely red. Other than this initial experience everything was wonderful. Breakfast is good, mostly heat and eat burritos and pancakes but it did the job. The woman that worked there in the Breakfast room was great. Jared was the best...if it wasn't for him I would have demanded a refund and left. I've never been treated so badly by a front desk agent at any hotel ever. She doesn't need to be in the front dealing with customers.

This hotel was clean and bright and modern. The breakfast was exceptional and such a beautiful view. Every staff member was welcoming and very friendly. The parking lot is very well lit and convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great place to stay in Buena Vista . I'm particular about my coffee, so I was thrilled to find out they serve Seattle's Best that was not weak like typical hotel/restaurant/convenience store coffee. I also love that they have good breakfast options.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The AC has the option of having the fan run constantly, which drowned out any hallway noise so we slept well. The breakfast options were good, with several high protein options (hard boiled eggs, greek yogurt and various types of milk) and the coffee was strong. I found the beds very comfortable-in my opinion they were more on the soft side as opposed to overly hard. The fitness room was small but everything was in working order and amazingly had windows that opened! A big plus these days.

Best Western is the "best in the West." We arrived early afternoon into Buena Vista and were able to register without delay. While the two-story motel didn't have an elevator, they were able to accommodate the non-ambulatory party in our group on the first floor near the breakfast room. While this establishment was short-staffed like all others due to Covid, they were able to accommodate all of our requests. The front desk staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful with recommendations regarding restaurants and things to see. They even opened up the breakfast room at night so that we could play cards and (Mexican Train), a dominos-based game. The rooms were fresh and clean which is more than I can say for other mountain town motels on our sojourn. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise as well. While items were refrigerated, they could be heated up or cooked in the microwave or toaster. Some of the items were Jimmy Dean's breakfast eggs & sausage on a biscuit, breakfast burritos, oatmeal, bagels and pastries, cold cereals, oranges, a variety of milk products including chocolate milk, coffee and tea. While we didn't use them, the motel had a swimming pool, gym/workout room, and other facilities for its guests. The downtown area was cute with old buildings from the late 1800's that have been repurposed into boutiques, antique stores, restaurants and watering holes. We walked away happy and heartily recommend the Best Western Vista Inn.

Our room had been reserved a year out and we'd requested a room on the top floor for quiet. We didn't get that and I suppose that's fine. The staff indicated there was no elevator. What the staff failed to tell us was that there is no room service on Saturdays because of lack of staff. The room was okay as was the free breakfast. The staff was quick to supply us with things (like coffee) we didn't get as a result of no Saturday service.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. As someone said it is not the Four Seasons but neither are the prices. We had a King suite and is was really nice. There was great view form the window of the Collegiate range. The pool and hot tub area was very clean. Breakfast was ok. It seems the pandemic has curtailed a lot of the items but not still not bad.

This was one of the finest facilities that we have ever stayed in. It was very clean and the rooms were excellently arranged and accomadating to our use. The staff that we had dealings with were very professional and helpful.

We stayed here for 4 days in June 2021. Our reservation was for 4 nights but we wanted to leave after 3 nights and they said they would still charge us for 4 nights. You better be sure how long you want to stay. Breakfast is all prepacked wrapped stuff. The alarm clock went off at 6 AM the first 2 mornings and no one at the front desk new how to fix it. Telephone message light kept blinking even though no messages. We finally unplugged it from the wall. I am sure there are better places in town.

We booked our stay via the Best Western website, but had a bit of difficulty inputting our Rewards number so we called customer service to make sure our reservation was confirmed. The rep we spoke to was very helpful, and seemed to be located in this country (a rarity in customer service these days). We were able to check in without any problem. Because we booked through their website we were charged a lesser rate than several folks checking in ahead of us. The room was clean and of typical size - enough space for the two of us. They have an indoor pool, a workout room and a small room for business purposes. They also have meeting rooms available. Due to COVID their customary buffet breakfast was not available, but they did offer breakfast from a decent menu of sorts, for the room, at no additional charge. I see that a previous review said there was a two night minimum. We did not find that to be the case since we were only there for one night.

My wife, kids, and I spent a weekend in BV while our house was in the process of selling. Good way to escape while showings were happening. This Best Western location is the nicest hotel in BV that is still affordable; and they know it. They know it because they can get away with requiring a two-night minimum stay when the other places in town, that are not nearly as nice, still allow one-night stays. They get a demerits from me because they do require a two-night minimum stay when a place like this should not be requiring this. And I think I'm being generous when I say this is the nicest hotel in town. Granted, it's clean, fairly updated and far from being a dump; unlike their closest competitor almost caddy-corner from this location. But the rooms are quite small and while they are great for couples, a family of 4 has a tough time in many of the rooms. They do have an onsite coffee shop, breakfast is either delivered to your room or its grab-n-go only and eat in your room that isn't designed for meal consumption. They do have great breakfast options that you can heat up in your room's microwave oven. But, it would still be great if they reopened their breakfast area for the more personalized experience and to avoid eating in your room that isn't designed for it. The staff was great, little hesitant to give extra sheets, pillows, and towels and even questioned why I was asking for additional items. I had never been asked "what are these for" by any hotel employee before. Obviously, they're to accommodate our needs! They have a pretty nice pool area too. The swimming pool temperature needs to be cranked up! But at least they have a hot tub that should probably be decreased by a degree or two. Unfortunately, the pool closes at 10pm so adult time is pretty limited. But it's great they even have a hot tub because not having a hot tub seems to be becoming a more normal thing at many hotels especially newer properties. So if you plan on actually vacationing in BV and have no problem staying two nights in a crammed, but nice, room, I do recommend this Best Western. If you are passing through and only need a night, well, apparently you get punished by being forced to one of the dumps in town because this place only does two-night minimums.

My wife and I are traveling by motorcycle and left early this morning from our previous stop in order to avoid predicted thunderstorms. We arrived early simply hoping to park the bike and sit and work in the lobby until our room was available in a few hours. LeeAnn was SUPER helpful and welcoming and offered a place to store our travelling gear until the room opened, provided us with the wifi password, and was just genuinely welcoming to us. After only a few minutes she told us she had a room available early (it is Memorial Day weekend) and checked us in. We'll be back! We had tried to stay here on previous travels and they were always full- I can see why!

Very courteous and helpful staff - even when we had to make a last minute reservation change. Great view of snow capped mountain peaks out the window of the room, room was in good condition. I appreciated the updated covid guidance consistent with current science (when at least some competitors are still under old rules) and especially the posted guidance to please be respectful of other people's personal decisions to wear or not wear a mask - something that's been sorely lacking from both sides for the last year. One minor thing, I don't believe there's an elevator, so if you have mobility issues or pack a lot of stuff, you may want a ground floor room - though the second floor has great views.

The hotel location was great. We stayed one night, had a lovely view of the mountains from our room. Room was very clean, if a bit worn, but felt very comfortable there. Front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and courteous, as well as informative about the stay and area.

We stayed two nights. The hotel is really nice, very clean and we'll maintained. Nice exercise room and a large pool. Breakfast was quite good with many choices and set up to avoid Covid. They have Seattle's Best coffee, which is quite good. Staff was very nice. The gift shop and snack bar is quite nice also. Just be aware there are no elevators, so try for the ground floor if that is an issue.

We took advantage of the fitness center and it was really nice. The breakfast had quite a few options to choose from. The room was clean and the hotel close enough to BV, you could probably walk there on a warm day! And be sure to check out brunch at Bread and Salt nearby :)

Bed is comfortable. But smells funny. And garbage not cleaned up around the room and bathroom from previous guests. For breakfast you order it the night before. It wasn't even close to what we ordered.

This hotel was clean, well-lighted at night, and is quiet. The nightly price was a good value as well. The Staff was friendly and accommodating. While the property is not new, it is well cared for and I will be back again.

My wife and I were so impressed by the exceptional cleanliness, and quality of the furnishings for the room we stayed in for two nights. The staff was very welcoming. The breakfast-in-a-bag had several offerings. The food items were of good quality and quantity. The site and rooms were very up-to-date. We wil definitely stay at this location again!

This is why I support small businesses Air Bnb, Etc., and not Corporate Hotels. Upon arriving to the hotel we had HORRIBLE car troubles had to spend the night in our vehicle between Glenwood and Leadville - didn't have any cell service. We didn't think to , nor did we have the ability to call the hotel to let them know we were stuck waiting for AAA for hours. When we asked for compensation back for the night we missed, even a percentage in return, the woman at the front desk was rash and quick to respond in a automated rehearsed voice - that honestly came back very insincere on why she couldn't give us anything in return. Talk about being pushed down when we were already having a horrible morning! Additionally our bed was stained and while some desk receptionists wore masks - others didn't ? After we were asked to wear our masks when we arrived ... Safety, Kindness and Cleanliness are not the words I would use to describe BW. More like disappointing corporate culture. I will not be staying here again, I'd rather sleep in my car like we did the first night.

I had an appointment in the area so I booked a room at this hotel. Could not have been happier. Large, comfortable room, very nicely decorated. Great breakfast, with lots of options to heat up in room. Pool and hot tub were open. Very pleased.

We wanted to ski for Spring Break and this hotel was fairly close. The reviews for this hotel were very good particularly for cleanliness and the bag breakfast, so we took a chance. The reviews were spot on! Wonderful hotel, wonderful staff, very clean, and the pool/hot tub were great. We will always stay here when we come back winter or summer!

The hotel was nice and clean. Staff was very helpful and works hard to go the extra mile due to the Covid 19 restrictions. The hotel could sue some upgrades but overall was a good fit for the 4 of us.

We had make an impromptu stop because a snowstorm kept us from making it to Telluride. The pool is bigger than usual, the staff has been very friendly and helpful, and the picnic(take it back to your room)breakfast was huge! It is worth the extra fee for the Mountain View room!

Really enjoyed my stay here even though it was only for one night. Prior two nights I stayed at the Mt. Princeton resort, but kept driving back in to Buena Vista anyway. Would definitely recommend staying at the Best Western!

Clean, friendly and convenient hotel. Staff were great and the gift shop next door is a plus. Great location, walked to dinner. We have stayed at this hotel three times over the past year and our experience has always been consistent.

We booked a two night stay and arrived to find Best Western Vista Inn the cleanest hotel that we have stayed in. The staff was top notch and extremely helpful. We swam and enjoyed the extra clean pool many times during our stay.

This Hotel has excellent rooms with wifi and plenty of usb outlets for your phone or other electronics. Great location near hot springs, skiing, and amazing restaurants! There are close to many hiking trails and off roading trails.

One of the best business traveler hotels I know of. Comfortable beds, Clean rooms. The staff is dedicated to making your stay worry free. During covid it is nice to walk in to your room and not feel the immediate need to make sure it is clean and the surfaces have been disinfected.

Room was not clean, bits of candy and trash left, not enough blankets for sofa bed, dated accommodations, wondered if sheets and towel was clean. with all the rooms, they put a couple next door to us and crying lady all night long kept us up. with social distancing they should have spaced out

Room was awesome and breakfast delivered to your room awesome too! I will stay here again in 2021, staff were helpful and polite,, closet to park and town! This is the best place to stay while visiting Buena Vista.

Hotel was new and nice. Be prepared there is no elevator, but it is only one floor up. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was sent in a bag this morning and there was plenty of options. It would be nice if there was less sugar in many of the options, but overall there was plenty of food and it was nice. The staff was not great at wearing their masks. If they want to not wear it while they are by themselves, that is one thing, but they will come up and talk to you without wearing masks. Also, a number of times, I needed something very small and simple and the staff was in the back talking and didn't hear as I kinda screamed excuse me to get their attention. However, the property was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay.

If you are worried about Covid then stay at this hotel. Once you were booked in nobody enters your room. Yep, you have to make your own bed but if you need new towels they bring them to you. Breakfast was a good selection which you chose off the menu the night before and it was delivered to your room in a baggy the next morning by 6. There was consistently enough food for breakfast and lunch. Staff were super friendly with coffee always at the ready.

Check in was easy and the clerk was thorough in explaining breakfast procedures The hotel was a bit dated with worn carpet etc, but seemed clean enough. The room was big enough and appeared clean. The air conditioner worked well There was a fridge, but when I went to put my beer in there was a bunch of old food in there. YUK! When I called the front desk they came immediately and cleaned the fridge. No other room was available for us to change to. There was a big TV with good selection of channels The bathroom was large and clean with excellent shower water pressure and clean towels. The beds were OK except the mattresses were on an odd flat frame and the mattress tended to slide off leaving a shin buster platform exposed. Sleep quality was good except some IDIOT before me left the alarm clock turned on and set for 6AM. I dunno if the maid is supposed to turn those off, but I never use it cause i have my phone so I don't ever check. Argh. The gym was very tiny. It was hard to have two people working out at once. The pool was nice. For breakfast we had to select our items from a menu the night before and then pick them up at the front desk the next morning. There was no hot food, but they had Jimmy Dean sandwiches, yogurt, Danish, etc. We had to eat in our room, but at least they provided breakfast. There is a nice river trail nearby if you want a nice walk. Overall the hotel was OK, except it was a bit pricey for the quality

This is the second time we've stayed here in the last couple years and it's been a great experience both times. Because we are on motorcycles and have to do laundry every few days, this place has nice laundry facilities and the people at the front desk where always friendly and helpful!

Aside from the bed being too firm to sleep on for me (I am more top heavy but 270 lbs & short), the room was clean, the bed was comfortable to lounge on, the pool was at a decent temperature (the pool & hot tub hours were good if you're a night person), service was professional & they served a hearty breakfast to go due to covid19. I did find it odd that I didn't see an elevator but I needed the exercise & the 16 steps was not bad (there may have been an elevator but the guy at check in told me of the stairs).

My family and I very much enjoyed our stay! The room was big, clean, and great view of the mountains. The pool was nice and the hot tub was relaxing. Mostly importantly, the hotel had great customers service! Our family vacation to Colorado was magnificent and we're grateful to have found great lodging!

My husband and I stayed at the BW Vista in July on a road trip. We are in our late 70's and don't do stairs very well, especially carrying luggage. We were planning to ride the train in Leadville on the day between our 2-night stay. I had searched for accommodations in the area and there were plenty of cute places with lots of charm and character, but I knew that we would have to carry our bags upstairs and chose not to do that. So I chose to stay at the BW Vista since it was a large motel. After checking in, I asked the receptionist where the elevator was. We were told there wasn't one. And there was no vacancy on the ground floor. So we had to haul our bags upstairs ourselves. I regretted not booking a place with lots of personality. I will say that they had the best solution to breakfast of anywhere we stayed on our 3 week trip. Chosen from a menu the night before and delivered to the hallway outside your door in the morning. Although they only delivered one of our breakfast orders on the second morning, the day we were checking out. They offered me a yogurt when I reported it. But not the full order. They may not deserve a one star rating, but I want to be certain that people who want/need to ride an elevator will perhaps find this cautionary post. We would not stay here again no matter what they do with customers service or food service or housekeeping or decor if we had to stay on the second floor and carry our bags upstairs again.

I admit I had a mistaken view of Best Western as outdated and a little shabby- boy was I wrong! This place was well appointed, extraordinarily comfortable, and very clean. I couldn't ask for more. It is definitely the best hotel to stay at on the side of the mountains.

Other than the slow internet, I have no complaints. The front desk staff was awesome. Very clean hotel, including the pool and hot tub. On the edge of town so it was pretty quiet. They are doing a great job of balancing safety and service during the pandemic.

I have stayed at BW Vista Inn several times over the past few years while hiking, and have never been disappointed. Rooms are clean, staff is efficient, and plenty of amenities are a nice touch. The hotel is much quieter than others in other mountain towns - very necessary when you need a good nights rest.

We had a deluxe king room with a mountain view, it was very clean and ready to go. The bed was very comfortable, had a nice couch. Everything about this room was extremely nice and comfortable. Loved the view of the mountains! We stayed during the July 4th celebration and was able to watch the fireworks from our room. Loved it! Will definitely recommend this motel and use them again!

I only stayed one night because we were catching an overnight rafting trip the next day. It was a very nice facility and the breakfast was very good, considering covid19 limited it. We had a good night's sleep.

We stayed in May 2020 (during pandemic). Staff were courteous and maintained safety standards. Rooms were very clean and beds were exceptionally comfortable. I personally liked having a filtered water station available.

We wanted to take a quick trip to Buena Vista to hit the hot springs. Found the BW online and we were not disappointed. Staff was great and easy to work with. With most of my reviews, if a hotel is clean, they will get a fairly high review as that is priority 1 with us. Super clean hotel. Top notch breakfast with many of hot options available, and very hard working staff there to make sure your visit was a great one. Way to go BW staff at Vista Inn!

My wife and I stayed here on a Friday night to break up our drive to Durango for a long weekend. We found this hotel to be well-run, clean, comfortable and convenient. If had everything we needed such as a coffee maker in the room, and a basic breakfast buffet. I did not have any problems with anything, which I have to note is all-to-common in many cheap hotels. The breakfast was mediocre, but the staff was helpful and friendly. We will finally stay here again on these driving gross.

Room 201, great staff, great breakfast, and amazingly.....everything worked. Most hotels in the winter...the pool is down, the hot tub is down, the toilet doesn't flush, e-door locks don't work, construction going on. Not this Best Western. Everything worked...even the NFC door locks! The staff was friendly, and guest oriented. Breakfast staff was cheery and helpful at 6:00 AM. The pool maintenance offered to get a bottle of water (altitude/hydration) when my spouse and I were in the hot-tub. Room change at check in was quickly, friendly accommodated. The king-size beds were comfortable. The rooms were well decorated and spacious. Even a sofa and coffee table in the king-size bed room. And coffee......Seattle's Best. For years we've stayed at the SUPER8, across the street. Went downhill when Pete left. The Best Western is the place to stay when in BV.

My honey and I decided we wanted to relax for a night and didnt want to make it a hot springs trip as we are tired of snow and cold. Nice hot tub, and no walks in snow to get to our room. Spa room was empty so it was quite romantic for a short relaxing trip. The breakfast choices are abundant as well.

Wanted to do some cross country skiing and had never been to ski Cooper, so decided on this weekend. Had stayed here over summer one time, and decided to check it out again. Even better than before. Room clean and comfy. Beautiful view of the mountains. Decent exercise facility with all you need. Best free breakfast we've ever had. Homemade green chili and everything. Pool and hot tub so relaxing. Was a little worried about noise because fully booked, but all good. Definitely need to check it out.

I love how friendly the front desk is and how they greeted my dog. Always asking if everything was ok or if we needed anything. We stay almost every weekend at a best western. We will be home ok ng again next week and the next. I will only stay there.

As part of our traveling ski trip in January 2020 we booked two separate nights at this Best Western in Buena Vista. Keeping in mind it may only be a 3 star Hotel... it was very clean, staff was pleasant and in and out was with no without issues. 1st night on second floor and 2nd night on 1st flr. No elevator was no issue for us and we never used the Hot Tub or Indoor pool. 6:00 am Full breakfast was awesome! Keep in mind this is a AAA recommended Hotel and those are usually GREAT Choices. If you are looking for a reasonably priced clean, quiet and place with a GREAT View this would be a great choice.

Ill be back excellent loved the coffe n make remover nand all bathroom amenities and room . the towels at the poolside and they are warm. Your hot tub coul use stronger jets. They are a little weak. The pool room was also the right tempeture The breakfast is the best. Thats one of the reasons we stay there. Its a full breakfast

My family and I love out stay everytime we stay here. The staff has always been friendly, rooms clean and amenities available. The breakfast staff ensures the area its clean and well stocked and the food available its always delicious. Am added bonus is the breakfast staff had always been very nice!

Clean rooms, kind staff, warm water, large clean pool and spa, pool towels thoughtful, no complaints except for the very poor breakfast options on the second day. Runny eggs, wet biscuits, stale bagels/muffins, and the yogurt depleted.

This is a very nice hotel in an easily accessible location. It also has a built in coffee shop which is handy. Check in/out was quick and easy especially with express check out. Breakfast was super with many choices and all was well stocked and appropriate temperatures. Great views of the Collegiate Range. The room was perfect. No complaints and we will return when in the area.

We loved our stay here. So thoughtful to offer filtered water with endless refills. This was really appreciated as we were adjusting to the altitude and hydration is so important. The room was spotless and the beds super comfy. We enjoyed the hot tub and doing laps in the pool. The manager and staff went above and beyond with holding two items for us until a family member could pick them up. Highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed!

Checked in and at first there was a little confusion as we had a free night from our Best Western points but they figured it out. Gave us a lovely room upstairs. Yes, they do not have an elevator which is strange. Very comfortable rooms and bed. Nice view of the mountain when it is not snowing. Very sweet staff. All so kind and polite from the fellow who cleaned our room who was from Pittsburgh to Syndney at the desk, Michelle at the Cafe (yummy drinks by the way) to maintenance. Will be back to stay again.

This motel has been updated and is quite nice. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. We were on the ground floor back and noticed it was clear behind the building and we'll lighted. We are glad to have found a great stopping off point in Buena Vista. We'll be back.

After swearing off Best Westerns in the early 2000s, I now find myself seeking them out. This is the 2nd time I've stayed at this specific BW and the experience couldn't have been better. For a mountain town hotel, this facility is clean, updated, friendly with an impressive continental breakfast! It's not located in the heart of the town. You're maybe a mile from the main street and 8 miles from Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. The one thing I always note is, if you are sensitive to the type of pillow you sleep on, bring your own. I don't think they offer a selection.

We had a large family wedding in Buena Vista in September and a number of us stayed at the Best Western. I made reservations for my 89 year old mom on the ground floor and another room for different family member but when we arrived ( on Friday at 2:30 pm) we were told they had been cancelled. I had cancelled one room but not the room for my mom and showed the email cancelling one room but confirming the other. Further, the woman I spoke to when making the changes, confirmed that I did not cancel my mother's reservation. The desk manager, just said " the hotel is full there is nothing we can do" Obviously the hotel was not full at that point. We had to double some of the kids up in a house we rented so that my mom had a place to stay. A week later, I called the hotel manager and told what happened. He reviewed their records and saw that the reservation was cancelled by the hotel staff mistakenly. He apologized, said it had been handled poorly, and asked if he could give me a voucher for a free night in the off season (I did not ask for any compensation) . He never followed through. The front office was rude and unhelpful even though the mistake was clearly theirs.

From check in to check out, everything was smooth, easy and gracious. Beds were comfy, the pool was clean and the breakfast was simple yet delicious. The staff was so nice! The views were great and coffee in the morning browsing through their adorable gift shop and then reading the paper by the fireplace was perfect.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a huge variety of choices. The breakfast room staff was very accommodating. The only negative was that the hotel was full on Saturday night and the rooms could have been more soundproof.

We have stayed in a lot of best westerns hotels, somewhat reluctantly because they were normally below par. This hotel tops any of them and compares well a or exceeds our expectations for chain hotels.

The room was very nice and comfortable. Even the bathroom and shower accessories like the shampoo conditioner lotion we're very good. The price was really good for everything that we got and as nice as the hotel was.

We stayed here for two nights and three days. The hotel has no elevator - not sure how I missed that but would have been good to know. The hot tub was broken and there was no cable reception for another day. The breakfast was good, about the only positive I found. The hotel is definitely dated, our room was not very clean, especially the bathroom. For the price that was paid for this room, we had expected much more.

Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great. Price is a little high, but it's the best place in town. Buena Vista is a great place to hike, fish, 4 wheeling. Great steak house in town. We were to ride the fall colors.

Stayed 9/23 & 24 and was booked into room 102. Right next door was the ice machine, which I did not realize at the time. First night we were kept awake by a loud clicking sound of the fridge in our room. Also was awakened the first night by someone using the ice machine at about 4:30 in the morning. Even though we had things in the fridge we went ahead and turned it off rather than have to go through relocating to another room. Although the ice machine outside our room had also awakened us,we figured it was not worth relocating to a new room. The second night the ice machine malfunctioned and the noisy auger mechanism kept turning on and off every 20 to 30 seconds. I thought someone was playing with the machine and had to get out of bed at 2am, run to the ice room in my boxers and t-shirt only to find it broken. I had to unplug the machine and leave a note on it stating it was broken. I figured I would at least get to sleep the rest of the night, but no, someone had again plugged in the machine and was grinding away at 4:30am. Short story, do not let the motel book you into room 102. It should not be a usable room as long as the ice machine is right next door. The thing that bothers me the most is the motel has to know this problem exists and yet they continue to book people into it. I did not ask for an adjustment to my charge for two nights but was very offended when the desk clerk offered absolutely nothing except saying "I'm very sorry", about three or four times. I will never stay here again because of their lack of fairness and concern. Otherwise, the facility was very clean and well cared for. The breakfast was top notch and was as good as any motels breakfasts I have had in the past.

Room was clean and spacious. We used the fitness center and pool. Front desk was helpful with questions about restaurants and things to do. I really liked that they used real silver, cups and glasses at breakfast instead of cardboard and plastic. It shows that they really are trying to be "green" and reduce waste.

We stayed here two nights for a weekend wedding. The hotel had several nice features and the staff was all very friendly and professional. It was evident that the hotel was very well managed. The decor could use a little updating, and the hotel does not have an elevator. But everything was clean and functional and the stairs to the second floor were easy and not really an issue for us. We did not encounter any problems with our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

My husband and I were traveling all around Colorado and had the good fortune to stay at the Best Western VISTA INN. This hotel was one of the nicest, cleanest and best value we have found in our travels in Colorado. I will be reviewing many other hotels and trust me when I say.....others did not fair as well as this one. To have a clean cheerful room to walk into after a day of driving meant the world to us. Before leaving to find a FULL Breakfast with so many hot and cold items to choose from was just beyond anything that we were expecting! I truly believe this hotel could be the model for what other Best Westerns should aspire to. We just can't say enough good things about our experience here.

Great location, clean, staff friendly, professional and very helpful! However, there is no amount of cleaning and friendliness that can replace a dated facility that needs a complete remodel. Beds smelled of body odor, decor very dated, the tv volume had a mind of it's own and nothing really worked or functioned properly in the room. OVER PRICED vs value and there are many better options in the city!

The room had two chairs and lights to sit and read. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast had several hot selections. I like to reuse towels but saw nothing in the room about that. On the last morning, I found info about towel reuse on the door behind the do not disturb sign! That was my only complaint!

I booked this room fairly early and I thought it was going to be spectacular. When I arrived, I discovered that it was nothing special. It was nice, but not worth the extra dollars when compared to some other BW hotels I have stayed at in Colorado. The room was okay, but again, nothing to brag about. The pool is really huge and gorgeous. I was surprised to see that no one was using it. I would say, if you are in the area, you might enjoy staying here, but I would not go out of my way for the experience.

This was a very nice hotel in Buena Vista. Convenient, easy access, and very comfortable. We were here 2 nights and couldn't have been more pleased. Nice size rooms, huge bathrooms, great breakfast. They also had water bottle refill stations which were very handy. I would absolutely stay here again !! They also had a hot tub and pool, but we didn't have time to use.

We stayed for 2 nights, checking out on August 5. After departing we realized we had left a bag in our hotel room. We spoke with the front desk, and upon the return of the bag we found that three items had been stolen from the bag. Very disappointing! Update to my previous review: After speaking with the managing partner/general manager, Brent Jewell, the issue of the missing items was resolved to our complete satisfaction. He was kind and truly concerned about what had happened. I theorize that the reason the employee took our items after our departure is because they thought we had abandoned them. All has been rectified and we will gladly stay at BW Vista Inn again thanks to Brent Jewel's quick and sensitive action regarding the issue. The hotel is clean, modern and has friendly, responsive staff.

We stayed here two nights this summer. The room was clean, good size and had all the basics. The towels/linens were all clean/fresh and the bed was comfortable. The A/C and wifi both worked well. Breakfast offerings were typical for the hotel chain. We had a room close the pool and stairs. Never had any extra noise from the pool. The stairs were not an issue except for an inconsiderate guest who dragged her suitcase down the stairs at 4am.

Booked the hotel primarily for its location close to the Collegiate Peaks. Alongside this however the hotel provides excellent facilities including pool with a hot tub, air conditioning in the rooms and a nice cafe and gift shop. Yet to sample the breakfast but so far so good. Close to centre of Buena Vista with various eateries available.

The facility had wonderful views out the west windows, OK views out the other side. The conference room was large and very clean. The guest rooms were nicely decorated and clean. It is a nice place for a large group gathering but very pricey during peak season, and they require a 2 night stay.

Our family of 4 arrived in the Arkansas River Valley to climb and raft, but without detailed plans for accommodations. After booking a room at the BW and finding it clean, comfortable and convenient to our activities, we asked about staying another night (though the hotel website indicated the hotel was fully booked). The excellent (and friendly) front desk staff was able to find a room to accommodate us and allowed us to remain in the room from the prior night. Breakfast was very good (though the room is a bit crowded due to oversized chairs around the tables) and the breakfast staff was efficient and friendly. There is a nice outdoor patio behind the hotel with seating and fresh air. Would definitely stay again when we return to the area.

This hotel is a nice looking facility but be very careful to make sure that you request the bottom floor if you have any mobility problems. There is NO ELEVATOR so you must schlep all of your luggage upstairs if you are staying on the second floor. In addition, there are only two handicapped parking spaces and they are both near the lobby so if you are not on that end of the building, you are out of luck! As is normal today, the regular parking spaces are too narrow to guarantee being able to open and SUV door completely, so again, you will have to try and get one of the two handicapped spaces or park in the "boonies" if you have trouble getting in and out of your vehicle.

Hotel was clean and we were especially looking for a good night sleep. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the air conditioning was a big plus! We will definitely choose this hotel when we're back in this area.

Best place to stay in Buena Vista, CO. Outstanding staff, everyone very friendly and supportive. Has one of the best motel breakfast. in food quality, variety, and staff services. Has a well trained and managed staff. Room is very nice and clean, bed of good quality, nice large and fluffy towels. Highly recommend this BW whenever in the Buena Vista area. Price seems a little high, but is a good value for the area when compared to other local motels.

I called for a same day reservation on a Saturday in the Summer and the Front Desk Reception was extremely kind and professional Check in was fast and pleasant. When we arrived at the room I was expecting dingy curtains, mold around the tub and a bed spread from the 90's. What we got instead was a clean and modern room! We actually visited the hotel pool and hot tub which was also super clean! I was so pleasantly suprised that Ive written this review even before the end of our stay.We're even sitting on the loungers as I write this. I'll update in the morning!

Came up for a hiking trip with 6 guys and I was sharing a room with a friend of a friend I'd never met. Despite the hotel being 100% booked LeeAnn Stange was able to do some musical chairs with the rooms and kept me from having to share a king bed only room with the other guy. She went above and beyond to make it all work. Thanks!

A recent stay at the older yet delightful Best Western Vista Inn fell just a mite short of excellent. Staff is wonderfully engaging, helpful, and proficient. Additionally the rooms are clean and inviting. Small added touches like glass coffee cups in the rooms provide a cheery, homey feel. We travel lots and generally lodging facilities offer coffee, hot chocolate and tea 24/7 in the dining area. This amenity was missing. Not a biggie, but inconvenient when running out the door on a hike, etc. The dining area was missing a microwave. Another new experience in a medium priced facility and truly an extreme inconvenience for those of us who have to reheat a coffee or breakfast item, help out a family member who prefers lots of milk in coffee or hot chocolate... We looked forward to the breakfast as many reviews mentioned this amenity. Yes, many big “country breakfast” fried offerings, but no fresh berries or melon. A bit of tweaking would seem to easily solve these minor issues. We do understand they're cost savers and possibly help contribute to reasonable prices.

We have family in Buena Vista so we travel up there pretty regularly. We have tried several of the different hotels and motels in the area and this was by far the best experience. The room the staff the breakfast everything was perfect and we plan to return again and again.

When I arrived, the person behind the desk thanked me for being a member of Best Western's reward program. I told her that was easy when Colorado has so many really nice ones. And this is one of them. The location was right on the main road through Buena Vista. I had no problem walking to Main Street, which has many of the town's shops and restaurants. It's an older property, but it's impeccably maintained. I didn't use the indoor pool, but I peaked into the area, and even that was in tip-top shape. The room was well-appointed and totally clean. Right on the property is a nice shop that's small but has a ton of gift items and snacks. Perhaps the best thing about my stay was the breakfast. Besides the typical sausage links, there was bacon. I've never had bacon at a hotel breakfast when the hotel doesn't have a kitchen. And two staff members were in the dining room keeping on top of things. The place is very well run, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

I am a BW fan, but this place was so bad that I never made it inside. The desk was very unpleasant. The woman was unfriendly and provided a negative response to whatever I requested even after I informed her that I was a platnum member. I felt like I was being played for a sucker. It finally made me so mad that I left and found another hotel in town. This was the only time I have had an unpleasant experience at a Best Western.

Stayed at the Best Western after a full day of rafting the Arkansas River. It was convenient and lovely. The staff was pleasant, the rooms were clean, and it had an amazing free breakfast! Great choice!

This was our favorite hotel stay during our vacation. Our king size room was incredibly spacious, the bed was comfortable and hotel was quiet overall. The pool and hot tub was great but the continental breakfast was outstanding. My husband is already planning our next trip to Colorado using this hotel as our base. My only gripe was the lack of available parking during our stay. There was a mobile construction box in the lot and about ten Parks and Recreation trucks taking up more than one spot each.

We planned a last minute visit to Buena Vista for river rafting and horseback riding. The best western had a great price and location so we chose it. Upon arrival at hotel, the staff was super friendly. It's not a new hotel, but everything in it has been treated with care. The room was nice and the beds comfy. Bathroom was very clean. The pool/ hot tub were awesome and loved by the kids. Workout room was small, but surprisingly well stocked. Breakfast was ample and we had no complaints.

Spent the night here last night. Great hotel. Clean, nice rooms. Great location at North end of town. No elevator to 2nd floor. Check out time was 11:00am. I had my do not disturb sign out - 9:00am housekeeping knocks on door 3 times, then 2 minutes later they call my room phone. If you want me to leave at 9am, then make checkout 9am, not 11am. I will not be coming back.

This hotel is in a great location. The inside and outside of the hotel was clean. The check-in and check-out staff were friendly. There were many choices for breakfast and the food was very good. We would stay here again.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. If you're there for quiet, request to be as far from the pool as possible. There's no soundproofing. Parking is a little tight. Staff recommended Lariat restaurant which was great.

This hotel was perfect for our overnight in Buena Vista. The staff went out of their way to be accommodating to any and all of our special requests and were never annoyed. We asked for a few changes and they were very amenable. The breakfast room had the best view in town of the majestic collegiate peaks. Nice and clean and a good price for this tourist town. Teresa was very kind, accommodating, friendly and gave us excellent customer service with a smile.

I spent a week at the Best Western and it made my week a very pleasant experience indeed! The room was quite comfortable and quiet. The maid service was excellent. The breakfast had quite a selection of hot items, fruit, etc. and was monitored by pleasant, helpful people. I didnt use the pool, but the workout room had the machines I use and were in working order. There is also a laundry room available, though I didn't use it.

The rooms are fine and what you'd expect, but what recommends this hotel is the awe-inspiring view and the top rate breakfast buffet. They offered the full array of breakfast yummies, including hot eggs and bacon, biscuits, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, waffles, a variety of pastries, and several choices of coffee. And you can gaze at fabulous Mt. Princeton while eating it.

Friendly staff let me check in very early and was generally very helpful. My room was clean and well-appointed. I asked for a quiet room and they put me at the end of the hall, in a room facing the rear of the property, facing an empty field and some hills in the distance; I was quite happy with that. I didn't use the pool and hot tub, but they looked clean. The breakfast spread was great and included.

Pretty pricey for what you get. There's no coffee available after 5 except the coffee in your room. The showerhead was horrible and sprayed everywhere. No Guide available for the cable on TV. No Government rate.

Great family or couple stay at this hotel. Close enough to downtown Buena Vista and full of everything you need to keep your family busy and happy. Beautiful views of the Rockies as well. Great breakfast options (and Included!) The gift shop was also VERY nice with quite a variety of wonderful gifts to bring home. Overall great quality for the price!

We stay at this hotel whenever in the BV area. It is consistently a good experience. Pool/hot tub sparkling clean! Breakfast great, variety of choices. Little gift shop is wonderful. Super friendly staff.

This is my second time staying at the Buena Vista Best Western. The room was very quiet even though the hotel was almost full. The staff were friendly and everything was extremely clean! I love the lobby with the wood ceiling and cozy sitting area. A few things I would tweak, though: 1.) There is a smoking area right by a front entrance near the pool and that leads to stairs to the second floor rooms. It's very unappealing having to walk through that smell. Also there is an air intake right there by the smoking area. When I made the reservation, I thought it was a nonsmoking property. Preferably remove all smoking areas from the premises. If that's not possible, at least move them far away to a non-visible area away from an entrance and air intake! 2.) It seems that the rooms have been updated since I was here last time. The new color scheme is black and brown, not very cheerful. 3.) I'm not a person who likes to hear loud TV shows while eating breakfast. The breakfast is great! But it would be much better with the TV volume off and closed captions on. And perhaps some nice soft music instead of a loud TV show on high volume!

Went skiing for the spring break. Comfortable, clean, safe.It is not our first visit. Very glad to see that hotel is keeping up with modern updates. Fresh remote in a bag is a plesant touch. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Pillows were overdue for replacement, but clean. Early check-in is a nice convenience.

Everything about this hotel was a cut above most hotel chains. The room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. It had a very comfortable bed and a refrigerator and microwave. It had a large indoor pool and hot tub. The breakfast was outstanding with many choices including both pancakes and waffles, eggs, green chile, potato cakes, sausages, biscuits, fruit, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, and several varieties of coffee. A bonus was a very cute gift shop with coffee and baked goods.

Great hotel close to the amazing family friendly skicooper.com and just minutes from the Mt Princeton hot springs... both are musts!!! We also loved that it was a quick drive to Salida which we love as well. Hotel is great location and close to lots of great eateries!

Took a long ski weekend and chose this hotel on a hunch. Absolutely could not be more happy. The rooms in facilities are absolutely meticulously clean. Staff is friendly and professional. Rates are very reasonable. Will absolutely be coming back.

Interacted with essentially all staff: front desk, breakfast, housekeeping and maintenance (whom, after inquiring where the ice maker was, asked if I wanted large cube or small cube ice, escorted me to the ice maker) and all went above and beyond to helpful and friendly. When back in the area will definitely stay there again!

This was our 2nd time staying at this Best Western. We stayed here last year when we came for a trip to ski at Monarch Mountain. We had such a great experience that we decided to stay again this year to ski at Ski Cooper and Monarch Mountain. This hotel is very nice and makes for a comfortable place to stay after skiing. The breakfast is the BEST free breakfast we've ever had at any hotel. I can't wait to come back.

This is a great hotel at the north end of BV. We went snowshoeing at a local trail then skiing the next day at Monarch. The hotel was convenient not only for the outdoor sports, but an easy walk to downtown BV for pre-dinner drinks at Deerhammer Distillery then Asian Palate for a great sushi dinner.

I can't say enough about the quality of service and the accommodations we have had with staying at Best Westerns. Our whole trip was driving and having a great nights sleep and Best Western hotel's really were one thing we could rely on having a good nights sleep at the end of the day. And breakfast's were always more than expected. Thank you!

I was very impressed by this best western. It was in a great location and the staff was all extremely friendly. Everything was very clean, and they were very accommodating when I brought my pup with me . I would stay here again if I am ever in Buena Vista again.

We visited during the holidays and I believe they had hotel staff problems. Everyone was nice and accomodating but you could tell they were stressed. It did not affect or stay. Breakfast was AWESOME! Can't wait to stay there again it's an Awesome location close to our favorite town Leadville!!!

We checked in here unexpectedly after leaving our camping site due to a nasty storm. The hotel was nice, clean, and a good location. The beds were comfortable & they had placed a disposable cover over the remote (which was really nice since its flu season). Everything was really good. On the morning of departure everything as usual, everyone very nice. I got home & realized I had left an ice chest full of electronics, that were priceless to me, somewhere but I wasn't sure where. After laying awake worrying about it I called the office & spoke with Hailey. She was very nice & reassured me my belongings had been found & she would let the manger know what happened so he could fix it. I was anxious so I called back twice speaking to Leann & Sherri who were wonderfully pleasant & reassured me that the manager would take care of me. So when Brent called me, he first statement was, “Let's make this happen!” Brent went above & beyond. He boxed up my ice chest with all the electonics & shipped it that very day. He texted me the tracking number so i could track it myself. And then wanted to know if there was anything else he could do for me!?! I got the package 2 days later with everything safe & sound! I will recommend this hotel & staff. I also will stay here again on my next trip! The staff here went above & beyond!

The room was very nice as were the staff. BUT the star of the stay was the breakfast buffet! Seriously, it had everything anyone would ever want. There is no elevator in this hotel so if you have issues with stairs be sure that you ask for a 1st floor room.

Better than most Best Western. The best views from the hotel lobby, rooms, etc. 2 Queen Bed room was well appointed, clean. A tiny bit noisy. Ask for room facing hwy/mountain for best views. When I travelled you had to get to breakfast early to get everything, especially sausage. The breakfast selection was expansive and fresh.WARNING: 2 floor facility NO elevator. Very short ride to Main St.and Whitewater park.

What a pleasant surprise this hotel was -- clean, comfortable, amazing staff, great breakfast, nice indoor pool/hot tub, TERRIFIC gift shop, neat location. And most impressive -- ACTUAL coffee mugs in the rooms, not cheap styrofoam cups, and an actual RUG in the bathroom. It's the little things that make the difference. Would absolutely stay here again (over the big brand names), and will tell all my friends about this place.

Stayed a week in mid September to hit 5 14ers. Perfect location for the Swatch peaks. Hotel is clean, quiet and had good service. Easy access to Independence pass, Leadville, etc. Good size bathroom. Smaller fridge, but enough space with going through items daily.

This hotel is extremely beautiful, quiet, has great amenities and is close to downtown! I strongly recommend this hotel! The view from either side of the property is extremely beautiful and it is about a 15 minute walk downtown.

Quick and easy checkin. Room was nice with fridge, microwave, Seattle's Best Coffee!!! Very quiet at night. Comfy bed. Slept like a rock. Included breakfast was great. Waffle and pancake bar, plus all the usual stuff. Well stocked and friendly staff kept everything fresh.

Horrible experience. Sign on the door of the motel says "No Pets." We were all awakened at 6:00 AM by an incessant barking from a dog in the adjoining room. It went on and on. I knocked on the door of the room and got no response. Then I went to the front desk to express my concern with the noise. No one was able to assist and they suggested that I just leave my name, room number and telephone number. In returning to my room, the occupant of the room next door was returning from breakfast and I confronted him. He apologized profusely. In checking with the front desk staff. they indicated that there are two rooms allocated for folks that have service dogs. This room was not one of those and the dog was NOT a service dog. Following our stay, I reached out to the General Manager of the Best Western Vista Inn, Brent Jewell. He was never available to speak and failed to return my telephone calls.

We came to Buena Vista to climb the nearby 14ers. This was a great location for easy access to many climbs, the whirlpool was clean and HOT, they had a "grab and go" breakfast for our early morning departures, lots of great food in the area, comfortable bed!

We recently stayed at this hotel for four days with friends in order to do some hiking in the area. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the center of town. We had a really nice view of the collegiate peaks right across the street. Everyone that we dealt with at this hotel was super friendly, and very helpful when we needed it. I really liked the gift shop, which included an espresso bar. This gift shop was definitely a cut above what one usually sees in hotels of this type. I bought my morning coffee there every day to boot! There was also a really nice little outdoor space where we had snacks some evenings we were in Buena vista. It would've been nice had the hotel featured a bar or someplace one could purchase some alcohol, since the outdoor seating was so compelling. I also found the breakfast fairly lackluster, although not unusual for free hotel breakfasts. All in all, we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We spent 4 nights at this Best Western and it provided a convenient base for various hiking day-trips. One can also walk into the small downtown for dinner or shopping. The rooms were spacious, tastefully updated and included a small refrigerator, nice bathroom and reasonably quiet AC. There's an indoor pool, hot tub and small fitness room as well. Breakfast was the usual fare -- nothing fantastic but certainly enough to choose from. And there's also a separate coffee shop if you want a specialty coffee drink. Plus a cute gift shop. We'd definitely consider staying there again.

I have stayed at the Best Western Vista Inn in Buena Vista many times over the past 10 years and it gets better each time! It has been 5 years since I visited Buena Vista last, and the upgrades were very visible, especially the inclusion of a coffee and gift shop!

This property has been renovated and is furnished well and very clean. Rooms have a great view of the mountains and the property is close to town. I will definately stay here again when travelling through central CO.

Took my family for a vacation to Buena Vista. The hotel looked like it was very dated when we pulled up and I was disappointed. Then we walked in and WOW! This is probably the nicest hotel I have stayed at with my family ever. The room was very comfortable. They offered a military discount which is nice. I would stay here again.

Very nice views and convenience of updated older hotel; very clean, nice personnel, good variety at breakfast with hot foods, cereals, pancakes, fruit. Need vent fans in bathrooms, Other older hotels don't seem to have these.

This is hardly the newest or funkiest hotel in Colorado - but it is a very clean and spacious place to stay in Buena Vista. Rooms (including bathrooms) are very spacious and it's a rock solid choice if you are spending some time adventuring / sightseeing in this area.

our room had double beds, and a crib, we all fit for 2 nights, microwave and fridge, tv with many channels, we spent the day nearby white water rafting, was nice coming back to our clean and spacious hotel room.

This great hotel was built as an extension to the owners home where they have raised their family, and it felt like it. Every employee/owner were gracious,welcoming, and seemed genuinely happy to have us staying with them. Book this property for your next visit to BV for any of the great outdoor activities. We rafted the Arkansas, and did many bike rides in the surrounding area.

The ladies at the front let us know about everything we asked about. This was our first visit and I had asked about things to do in the area since we missed on of the events we had planed due to drive time. And she was full of things for us to experience and that we alone wouldn't have thought of. We were having a problem with the internet hooking up to our room and the lady was up there and had the TV fixed in 10 minutes if that. I was more than please with our stay.

This is a nice hotel with nice rooms and a nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast is also really good. My dad hurt his leg when we went horseback riding and they went above and beyond to move us to a first-floor room. They even moved our stuff because we were going to be gone during the day. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Okay, so this is a typical two-story roadside hotel. But it takes that template and does everything right. Our room was spacious, well-furnished, and comfortable. The bathroom was immaculately clean, with plenty of space to spread out and nice toiletries provided. WiFi was reliable and fast. Breakfast was outstanding, with lots of hot and cold food options and real silverware for a change. Finally, the hotel is located just outside of Buena Vista, so there are restaurants nearby. The views of the mountains from the hotel are spectacular.

Very clean rooms, can't be better, front desk has people that speak English and I can understand. Parking is good, Desk help knows what they are talking about. Broken Coke machine, fixed ASAP. Very helpful...Desktop computer, was the worst, it was changed out by morning. Breakfest was perfect and is better than all the other hotels I have stayed at, the have everything. Best bang for your buck. Fill free to contact me. Pool small workout room, hot tub...all good.

This hotel has Clean rooms with a microwave and refrigerator, soft comfortable beds, breakfast is included and very nice staff. Only 2 floors and does not have an elevator. Will definitely recommend .

Nice older style hotel that has been well maintained. Be aware this is a two story property with no elevators. The breakfast was very good but the breakfast room seemed a bit overcrowded. My only problem was a lack of ice machines because one was waiting for parts and the other one was empty.

We stayed at the Best Western in Buena Vista while driving through to Durango. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished. We enjoyed the hot breakfast which had many choices. The rates were reasonable. This hotel worked great.

Very nice BW in the Banana Valley in the Rockies. Rooms were very nice and the Mountain View appreciated. Breakfast was above average. Close to a quaint Main Street with restaurants and bars. Staff was very helpful. We stayed there on our way to visit Vail.

We have stayed at this Best Western several times as we drive through on our way to Santa Fe. The hotel is nice, clean and quiet. It does offer a breakfast, but not the best, but good enough for something quick to grab and go. The coffee is nice and strong. A good option to stay in Buena Vista with reasonable prices.

I travel around CO a fair amount on business and I've done a number of Tripadvisor reviews. I take them seriously because I think other people may depend on them as much as I. Three years (and two or three visits ago) I gave the BV Best Western a five star review. I'm hoping the owner/manager/person-in-charge will see this and consider some suggestions from a relatively frequent guest. This motel is slipping, in my opinion. It's still the best choice in Buena Vista and probably the best choice in both BV and Salida/Poncha Springs. But it is not at the same level as before, in my opinion. Still great - front desk staff, cleaning crew, extremely active breakfast room attendants and the view coming out the front door, as always is as drop-dead great as anywhere in CO. What needs some attention is 1) mattresses, 2) pillows, and (not sure what they can do about this other than knocking out a wall) 3) a pretty crowded breakfast room. My mattress and pillows were probably great a few years ago but (particularly the pillows) are ready to be replaced. The breakfast room simply is too small at anything like motel capacity (and I was there on a Tuesday night in late March). Plenty of fresh food thanks to tireless efforts from two staff members, but still pretty close quarters. If I didn't have such fond memories from 5-star days in 2015 I probably would have given a 4 star in 2018, but it's time to freshen the place up a bit, folks. Sorry!

A beautiful property with a great view of the mountains. From check-in to check-out this place has been great. All employees I've encountered have been very friendly and seem motivated about and proud of where they work. No question I've asked hasn't been greeted with a smile and a helpful answer. The pool area is very nice with a long pool for laps and a whirl pool for relaxing. Exercise room is well equipped. The morning breakfast is well above the average and I would venture to say if you left hungry it would be your fault. There's also a coffee and gift shop attached to the property. A great place to relax.

Here for a few days on business pleasantly surprised by the attention of the staff and the condition of the older hotel. Very quiet and the bread easy was great. The heating system was ok pretty normal for most hotels.

We have family who lives in Buena Vista, CO and have stayed at other venues, but the Best Western Vista Inn is by far the best value and quality. The excellent gift shop and coffee bar included in the facility is a wonderful asset. The breakfast selection was superior. The amenities in our room were outstanding.

I visited buena vista with my fiancée and her parents. We had a great time at the Best Western - the staff was welcoming and helpful, the rooms big and clean, the hot tub and indoor pool were great fun, and the breakfast was excellent! Great place to stay to enjoy the hot springs!

Our basketball team stayed at the Best Western in December. LeAnn and Brent were very accommodating and so helpful, ex. giving us a conference room where were could meet and eat as a team. The cleaning staff were very patient and did an amazing job. I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is. Thank you

Wife and I snuck away sans kids for New Years. Everywhere we wanted to stay was booked so we "settled" for Best Western. After staying here I would say we did not settle at all, in fact this would be my first choice on our next trip to BV. Upon entry, the lobby was noticeably very clean. The manager checked us in and was very friendly and helpful to get through all the paperwork BW requires. Room was clean, nice, and larger than expected. We had a direct view of Mt Princeton so was BEAUTIFUL. Any room facing west is going to have a good view. Did not realize upon booking but a hot breakfast was included. They could use more fruits or vegetables but overall was shocked at how many choices there was for breakfast. They had breakfast burrito stuff with surprisingly good green chile! Also have 2 people managing the area which I have never seen and was awesome because they were friendly and tables were cleaned immediately. Also when food was out it was replaced very quickly. Overall it is a great value to stay here, the location is awesome!

While not a fancy place, it is clean, breakfast is good and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The motel is located right on the highway so it is very easy to find. We did not find traffic noise to be a problem.

I needed to stay here for business, just for 1 night. The building isn't new, but has been updated in many areas. I appreciated the well-proportioned bathroom and double-queen room. It was well maintained and clean. Breakfast contained both hot and continental items. The staff were all very nice. In Buena Vista there are fabulous mountain views in all directions, particularly to the road side (west).

This hotel is always clean and very comfortable. Staff goes above and beyond to accommodate. The gift shop and coffee bar are another great perk. This is the 6th year we have stayed here and it has been great. The parking lot is also very spacious.

Friendly, clean, comfortable. Staff took great care of us accomdating room change for elderly dad who had trouble with steps. Fantastic breakfast options before our trip home. Gift shop could be on main street, great variety of cute gifts both seasonal and Colorado. Coffee was also delicious!

Friendly and welcoming staff throughout the stay - from check-in to breakfast to check-out. Rooms are clean, suffiently modernized and new updates were in progress while we were there. Staff is to be commended for their excellent personal attention and customer experience!

We had a relaxing one night stay. The room was clean and well equipped with microwave and small fridge and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a lot more items then normal for this type of hotel, even the pancakes were pretty good. We liked that you could make your own breakfast burrito. We would stay here again if in the area. Several things listed on their website, we didn't see - free coffee, tea and cookies in the lobby and robes in the rooms.

Passing thru Buena Vista or staying a few days, the BW Inn offers a good place to stay. The place is run by long time area family wanting the guests to be happy. Buena Vista is growing area with many things to do.

Made last minute reservations for a weekend ATV trip to BV. Hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient to get to. Staff was pleasant and complimentary breakfast was GREAT! We will definitely recommend and hopefully be back!

Don't miss this place. Great service and views are breathtaking. Love the indoor pool too Seattle best coffee is so welcome from what you usually get and glass coffee mugs are a welcome bonus. We always look forward to staying here when in Buena Vista.

This Best Western has a lovely lobby, cafe, and gift shop as well as very comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Although not the cheapest option in the area, the location and quality of the facility make it a great choice for those passing through or staying for local recreation. BV has some lovely amenities--great hiking trails along the Arkansas, kayaking and fishing access, and fun restaurants, bars and shops. This BW is convenient to all. And the view of the Collegiates is spectacular!

This was my first stay at the Best Western Vista Inn and I would definitely choose this hotel again on future trips to the area. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable with everything in working order and the hot tub was a perfect temperature. The breakfast choices were many and the food was most adequate. You can't beat the views of Mt. Princeton to the west!

The hotel was quaint and cozy, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean and the bed/pillows were so comfy! Breakfast was good, a variety of hot items plus a waffle maker (bonus in my book)! The pool and hot tub were clean and refreshing to use after a day of hiking. I have nothing bad to say at all! Keep it up BW!!

The staff was extremely pleasant, helpful, and professional. The hotel is in excellent condition and accommodations were lovely. The Cafe next to to the Hotel is also a great asset. Breakfast was well organized and the staff was very helpful.

Great hotel and very helpful staff, I would recommend this place above others in town. The rooms was very well designed and comfortable. The front desk persons were very nice and helped with great choices for meals and events. The pool looked nice, but I didn't have the chance to try it. The Internet service was very good and overall, this hotel was equal and above the larger chains I've stayed at before.

Excellent accommodations at The Best Western in Buena Vista! They have really Up Their Game and offer lovely rooms, great, friendly, knowledgeable employees, and an unbeatable complimentary breakfast.

Everything here is great. The staff is efficient and personable. The rooms are roomy and comfortable. The location has a beautiful view of Mt Princeton. The breakfast is the best we've encountered with a friendly attendant who makes sure everything is available and tables are cleaned. Nice pool and perfect hot tub. Pool was too cool temperature-wise but very large and well-maintained. They have an adjacent coffee shop and gift shop with many collectibles available for purchase.

Our great experience @ Vista began with observance of the outstandingly maintained exterior and interior appearance of the facility. At check-in, the exceptionally professional tone of the place was set. It continued with the neatness and comfort of the bedding and bed, the quiet refrigerator and AC system. The 18-item breakfast, its setting and the service ladies is beyond compare on our "delight meter".

Not a good experience at all. Manager at front desk was very rude. The sad thing was I believe she was training someone new also. Breakfast area seemed very crowded with table and chairs so close to each other.

We stayed at the BW in Buena Vista, the building and rooms were very nice, the staff was wonderful and they also have a cute little store inside the Hotel with absolutely beautiful things. We will definitely be staying at the BW on our trip back to Buena Vista, CO.

This is by far the best overall Hotel that I have stayed in in the last year of traveling the US. It has every single thing that I want and need ; Price amenities cleanliness breakfast Pool Service... Everything. It's the only hotel that I found met all of my expectations to the highest degree. Even the television remote was cleaned and had its own baggie!

Our family had a very pleasant stay at this Best Western. Staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a little disappointing. It has a very neat little gift shop. We had a problem with the television and then noise in room next door but the staff corrected that very quickly.

We came here after spending the day at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. (PS If you're going, stop by the hotel first! They have discount tickets!). The hotel was clean, beds were comfortable but the breakfast was amazing! They ONLY negative about the breakfast was the room. Those new BIG HUGE chairs make it difficult to navigate the room no matter how big or small you are. We were in the back of the hotel and the view was kinda ugly but we were there to sleep not look out the window.

Wow what an amazing continental breakfast, never had so many choices or service. attached gift shop was quite nice, plus the had a smoothie bar. This was a last minute decision to stay here, what a pleasant surprise

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet is great! We were really impressed by the breakfast staff both mornings of our stay. They were kind, friendly, and very helpful, serving us breakfast items while we had our hands full with our toddler and infant. We'll definitely be back!

Such a great location and value for this hotel in Buena Vista. We will definitely be back and stay here. It is close to Main Street and you can practically walk to most of the restaurants around. Had a great time!

Great hotel, very friendly staff. rooms were very nice as well. The folks at this hotel also gave us good ideas for things to do. They also told us about some of the great places to have dinner. The ladies in the dining area were very nice and helpful with all of the options that were available.

This is a very well-run facility. The staff has obviously received excellent training. Everyone was efficient, helpful and friendly. For this area, the room rate was reasonable and the location was convenient to various activities and entertainment. We were very pleased with the physical facility, the cleanliness and appearance. Great facility.

We spent one night here and had a pleasant experience. The front desk clerk was efficient and personable. The room was comfortable and clean - everything was working fine. The only negative was no elevator.

Great value and price. Stayed here on our way to Great Sand Dunes. Mattresses are old and worn out and need replacing. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was good and the server was very nice and attentive. The rest of the staff was knowledgable and friendly. I would recommend this hotel again.

After a long drive from Colorado Springs, I was thinking that the room and the stay was going to be just average but boy was I surprised. The outside of the Best Western was just like out of a magazine. The hotel staff made me feel welcome. The breakfast was outstanding, and the scenic view of the mountains just made my day.

We enjoyed our 5 day stay, town has good restaurants, and close to many good hikes. Both east and west views good, but the west, the better side cause great views of the Collegiate Peaks. The railway line to the east not a problem, many years since it's been used. Road noise off the 24 not bothersome.

Very pleasant Place to stay. Great staff and all are very helpful. Good location. Room was very clean , shower was excellent, TV was very good, wi fi was good. We needed to schedule a late checkout and they were very cooperative.

Excellent customer service and breakfast. Even though we arrived early, they worked hard to have a room ready and called us when it was, over an hour early. Very nice lobby, rooms, and facility. There were a few little things...maybe new pillows and fix all the drains in the sink/tub to work and flow well. Quiet and relaxing.

Wanting a comfortable bed while doing off road driving for a few days. Nice , clean , modern , private access hotel right on the road through town. Friendly staff and very good breakfast. I'll be back next trip up to Buena Vista.

The inn sits on the east side of the main north-south road through Buena Vista, so its views of the Presidential range are across the highway and through electrical lines. Our room was large, with a couch and comfortable chair, in addition to the desk chair. There is no closed closet or wardrobe, just a hangar rod in an indented area near the door. The shower/bath offers a rubber mat but no safety handles. The bathroom counter is spacious. The mini-fridge was larger than usual but there was no safe. The inn has a sizable heated indoor pool and a hot tub. The breakfast area is also large with multiple options on three sides. It was well overseen, with options for a continental breakfast enhanced by eggs, sausage, oatmeal, and make-your-own waffles and pancakes. The woman at the main desk of the inn seemed confused and moody. The second floor is accessed only by stairs, with no elevator.

Great place to stay, staff was great, food was good. Offered to let us park our motorcycle under the car port if it rained. Great restaurant recommendations as well. Would highly recommend and will stay again!

Our family had a wonderful stay at Best Western Buena Vista. We only stayed one night but the staff made a lasting impression. We came early and they were able to accommodate our needs. We had an infant and since we were checking in early I didn't expect the pack-n-play to be there but much to my surprise it was. They even had a crib sheet and included a baby blanket. I've stayed at a few higher end hotels with my son and no one else included those extras. They situated us next to the staircase which was another nice touch. Breakfast was wonderful and included every breakfast food you can imagine. The gift shop was also as cute as can be. I picked up a few gifts and I never impulse buy. Overall I was very impressed with Best Western of Buena Vista. If I am ever in the area again I would hesitate to make this my home base.

Any time my family travels out to Buena Vista, this is the hotel where we all choose to stay. Overall good customer service, decent rooms, and good breakfast. The gift shop/coffee shop is also a nice plus. Before this last stay it had been a little over a year since we'd been there before. This time we had a king room, which seemed a bit nicer than the 2 queen room we had on our previous trip. My husband was definitely happier with this room as well. I do feel it's a little over-priced for what it is though. $180/night seems to be the average of our stays and I've stayed at much nicer hotels in bigger cities for that amount. Otherwise, no complaints.

We were in Buena Vista to hike Mt. Harvard so we needed a quiet, peaceful night and we received just that. The room was clean, beds comfortable and bathroom was spacious. We left before breakfast so cannot comment on that although, they did inform us of a grab and go option, so next we'll take advantage of that.

The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and beds very comfy. It was very quiet. Be sure to venture to the new "pop up" community on South Maine to enjoy the Farmer's Market on Fridays, live entertainment in the evening and eats at the Eddyline Brewery. Would definitely stay at this hotel again when in the area.

There was hair all over the pillows and the bedding like it had not been changed. I got woke up at 6:30am by someone's music blasting for over an hour. Yes they changed the bedding but for $180 A night it should have been clean

This is a very clean and nice hotel. Very nice pool and hot tub after long hikes! The hot breakfast is very nice. The rooms are great size and very clean. Hotel is only two stories so if you don't want to walk stairs ( no elevators) request a room on first floor. Our room had a very nice view and was located on 2nd floor and view of hills (faced away from 24).

I have stayed at this inn several times the night while hiking in the Sawatch mountain range. During my last stay, upon learning that I was planning to depart early in the morning, the night staff offered to open the breakfast room and help me select some refrigerated items to take to my room. That gesture was thoughtful and very appreciated.

Our stay at the Best Western Vista Inn was vastly enjoyable and the hotel is clean, well-maintained and rooms well-appointed. Staff were friendly and efficient and once again our check-in was a pleasure with everything being ready for our party of 13 on arrival. The bathrooms were great and a really nice touch for the ladies was a dark coloured facecloth, with "Make-Up" embroidered on it, so as not to ruin the other facecloths. The dining area was large and the breakfast on offer was very good - with a choice of just about everything to cater for all tastes. The views from the hotel were absolutely spectacular and watching the sunset in the evening and moon set in the morning was very special.

Clean room and hotel. Staff went above and beyond to make my stay wonderful. The View Cafe was a big bonus - smoothies and cute shop of nick knacks! Breakfast had a wide variety of yummy things to eat. Just close enough to downtown Buena Vista.

Hotel was right on the highway, easy access to downtown and places of interest. Hotel was very clean and breakfast was the standard, but had hot eggs and sausauge. All personnel were very friendly that we had contact with. Hotel was a little pricey, but worth it.

Concur with the many very positive reviews. This is a remarkable property, in a surprisingly attractive/ entertaining mountain town. The drive up appeal is vintage motel, but the rooms are sophisticated and well-maintained. Numerous small amenities that distinguish very good from just " ok". Pleasant, helpful staff. Highly recommended.

We stayed for four nights and although the hotel was full, it was quiet in our room and there was always plenty of space in the Breakfast Room and plenty of parking. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Especially enjoyed Brenda, who was in the Breakfast Room and Café. Hotel was clean and had a nice, lodge feel. We stayed in a King Suite. The room was spacious and the bathroom was large. Bed was comfortable. Ample selection of breakfast items. My husband loved the Belgian waffles, and be sure to check out the pancake "printer". I have never seen one except for this hotel. Push a button and in less than a minute, out come 2 hot pancakes! Don't miss "The View" Café and Gift Shop, located on the other side of the lobby. They have a wonderful selection of nice things, not just the usual "souvenir" items. Definitely our favorite place to stay in Buena Vista!

Nice, clean, very well kept. It was an excellent base as our family explored the area. The pool and laundry facilities were great. The breakfast was particularly good - lots of choices. This is as good as it gets for this class of hotel

Great place to stay. Clean rooms and all around great staff. The cafe staff were great assistance in planning daily activities and recommending great places to eat. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.

We were told by a local police officer that it is, by far, the best lodging in BV and they were right! Really nice beds and the best complimentary breakfast we've ever seen. They went out of their way to accommodate a party of 5 and asked if there was anything else we needed and it was quite late when we arrived. The breakfast was easily worth over $60.00 and we generously tipped (optional) the hard working dining staff who keep the facility spotless.

We appreciated the signs posted outside the hotel asking people not to drop their cigarette butts; too often smokers drop cigarette butts in the nearest smoking area and make it look and smell disgusting. This hotel has no elevator. The lobby consists of just a couch. This hotel has a nice breakfast room and the breakfast service includes meat, eggs, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, and pancakes, at three or four different stations. The room had stains on the carpet in two different areas. The room was spacious and the bathroom had nice counter space. There was no safe, but there was a nice refrigerator and even a small microwave oven.

We stayed one night. The room was very clean and well appointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's no elevator so if you have trouble with stairs request a group floor room. Otherwise the staff will help carry luggage up to your room. Breakfast was good with a lot of good choices. Room for towed trailers to park. We would stay again. Plan ahead because they book up quick.

This hotel was or looked new. the hotel was clean and neat. The staff were very nice and courteous and helpful. I would stay here again if I ever am in the area. I definitely would recommend it to anyone. The breakfast was very good. it's always nice to be able to eat breakfast before departing the hotel.

A well-run and maintained motel-type inn. Very friendly welcome and efficient check-in. The rooms are comfortable, though the pillows were a bit lumpy, and clean. The included breakfast is a good one. (I'd suggest a room upstairs - I was on the ground floor and the early start of the folks above woke me up because of creaky floors!).

Nice hotel but beware if your someone who enjoys daily fitness as fitness room is unavailable until 7 am. Pool is nice sized for a swim, temp was perfect. Best part of this hotel was the on-site coffee shop, with a very nice and accommodating young lady running it and the outside patio.

Our family booked 2 rooms for one Friday night here via phone call. I had attempted online, but for whatever reason was unable to complete the reservation. The woman on the phone said I would receive an email with my confirmation numbers, but when I had not received anything a day later, I made another phone call to the hotel. This time I did receive my confirmations a few hours later. The rooms we booked were 2 Queen and King Executive. Check in was smooth. Both rooms were clean and well appointed. We were not there long enough to use any of the amenities, but I might have used the pool if it was open past 10 PM. The breakfast was good (although coffee just okay) and the staff was attentive to replenishing the food items. I would recommend this hotel, but book as early as possible as they are very busy this time of year.

Very nice personnel, clean stylish hotel. Excellent handicap accessible bathroom. Space between desk & refrigerator when moving from entrance or bathroom is a bit tight. Stayed here several times over about 4 years and quality of hotel and staff has remained excellent.

We were very happy with the Vista Inn. The front desk people were friendly and quite helpful, especially in recommending restaurants. Our room was large, clean, and tastefully appointed. The bathroom facilities were especially attractive, suggesting a recent upgrade. The climate control worked well and was not too loud. This place also has nice views. On one side is a range of fourteeners, though you're also looking at the highway. On the other side is a field of sage and rocks going down to the Arkansas river. Our only complaints about the Vista Inn were that the beds were a bit too soft for our taste, and we could hear people walking on the floor above. That said, we would certainly stay again.

We stayed a couple of nights and found this to be a nice place to stay. Friendly staff and a nice breakfast layout were a plus. The beds were comfortable and there is a nice indoor pool and fitness room!

While the hotel is not in the quaint "downtown" area, it is very close to it. The hotel was nice, and the front desk staff were friendly. Breakfast was good. My daughter made herself a waffle. I cannot eat gluten - so luckily the scrambled eggs and sausage were good. The hotel has a very nice coffee and gift shop with lots of quality items.

We stayed only 1 night. Our room was very clean, beds were very comfortable, bathroom was clean and spacious. Front staff was helpful and friendly as were the ladies keeping the breakfast area clean and stocked. Breakfast had many choices (typical breakfast fare). Everything was very good! The pool was very well kept and clean. The only downfall is there is no elevator, we survived without it so no complaints here!

Our room was clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. There is no elevator, so there is only stair access to the second floor rooms. The sinks drained quite slowly. This was a perfectly functional motel for a short stay while hiking nearby, but don't expect much more than a place to rest your head.

We enjoy visiting the community of Buena Vista and fishing in nearby rivers. This motel is a joy---welcoming, comfortable, clean, convenient. Surprisingly good choices for the included breakfast. Appreciate the laundry, fitness room, and pool amenities. Really lovely adjacent/attached gift shop and coffee cafe.

Great property, rooms, service, and friendly staff. Beautiful view of the mountains. Close to downtown Buena Vista! We were in town for a wedding and other family members stayed here as well. We were able to spend time together at breakfast and at the pool.

Stayed one night here because we had just driven 500 miles (only reason) This is the most I have ever paid for ANY hotel room ($197) anywhere in the world, including London, Rome and Venice plus Denver city centre this trip, to be fair the hotel is not bad, just wildly overpriced, although the breakfast was very poor ( a very limited buffet)

Stayed for two nights at this hotel and everything was as expected. The mountain views also face the road, but there was no noise. Not much on-site for dining, but everything in Buena Vista is pretty close and walkable.

Had a great stay for 4 nights. We checked in Thursday and stayed until Sunday. The employees go out of there way for you. The breakfast is great, and they have a big room for family/friends to congregate. It was great for our large family to meet in the mornings to make our plans for day trips. Rooms are large and very clean. I will certainly be staying there again!

Nice town, clean room. Ridiculous fitness room - you cannot access it until you sign out a special key to get into the fitness room and then return the key when you are done - EACH time you want to use it. :(

The Best Western in BV is comfortable, the staff is friendly, and I really liked the coffee and gift shop area. The fitness center could be bigger and nicer. It was very small and there wasn't much room for stretching. In my opinion, go for a hike/walk/run outside! The views around the hotel are beautiful!

I have stayed here many times and it's always a great experience. Rooms are large and comfortable. The pool and hot tub are great with a comfortable temperature for kids. Breakfast is great. Easily accessible from highway with ample parking.

Clean, friendly and perfect location. I stay here every year for the BV Bikefest. It works out Perfect! Talked my friends into staying there this year and they liked it also. I will stay there again next year.

Modest hotel but I'd guess the best in town since it's a relatively remote place. My party traveled to Buena Vista for a rafting and camping trip so we weren't there for the thrills. The staff was pleasant and professional, the morning breakfast was hot (eggs, sausage, pancakes, etc.) and way above what one might expect - a continental breakfast. It was about as half as nice as the hotel I stayed in back in Denver on the return leg of the trip... but then again, this stay cost about half as much ;)

Room was clean and quiet with everything working properly. Breakfast was included in rate and was hot. Several offerings at breakfast were OK but eggs seemed to be powered. I enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi.

Easy check-in. Great breakfast and pool. Clean rooms, quiet, great location. The only downside was the construction on the main road, but that was all of Buena Vista, not just in front of our hotel. Wonderful stay while we visited the area.

This place is great in every way especially the breakfast area as the mountain view is spectacular! These people go out of their way to accommodate you! The gift shop has a lot to offer! It's great to have access to a barista without leaving the property!

We stayed here for 2 nights as we were hiking in the area, and hanging out in town. Chris at the front desk upon arrival was very helpful in getting our reservations straight, as we changed them last minute. He even ran into me at the grocery store, remembered my name and asked how the rooms were. THAT is awesome! Beds were very comfortable, I slept well and the bathrooms were clean, good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Fridge and microwave were very helpful when traveling with 5 kids. Breakfast was pretty good as well, and the person working the breakfast (weekends?) was very nice as well. All in all a great stay!

About once a year we stay at The Best Western in Buena Vista. The hotel is convenient to Hwy 24, the charming Main St., stores and restaurants. The hotel staff are all very helpful to accommodate. I believe the hotel is the best lodging in town.

We have stayed at this property multiple times over the past years. Our stays have always been great. We ride motorcycles and the staff has always been accommodating, allowing us to park under the canopy.

What a great hotel. The staff is so friendly and helpful! Our rooms were very nice and comfortable. The cleaning staff were friendly and so helpful always making sure we had plenty of everything. The pool, hot tub and workout room were nice too. We spent a lot of time in the pool and hot tub with our granddaughter it was fun! Breakfast is really good with a lot of variety. The breakfast staff also was friendly and helpful. There is a coffee shop right there and a great gift shop. This will be the hotel we stay at when we visit our family. This is an excellent little hotel right off the highway and near almost everything in Buena Vista. The breakfast is excellent, I highly recommend the green chili. The pool is large and nice and I liked the rooms with comfy beds. If you can get a room on the West side, the views are amazing. My only 2 complaints are that the in room outlets are in weird locations and I had to wait to get checked in. I ended up having to call the hotel on the phone just to get someone at the counter.

Overall a good stay. Nice bed, clean frig. Clean room, good breakfast. Had some trouble with the pancake machine, finally got it fixed. My room was on the backside of the hotel, so no view. The west side has a great view of the mountains.

This is a bargain for the views and amenities. The check in staff and other people were so helpful. Great items at breakfast but make sure to get there way before the 9:30 end time. We went at 9:10 and many items were depleted and not replaced. Great gift shop too.

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago. Went to go to bed and found crumbs and candy in the bed. The sheets were not changed between guests. We had to pack up everything and change rooms just when we were ready to go to bed. Hotel manager offered us 2,000 point credit to my Best Western account..takes 20,000 for a room! I asked for a refund or other compensation and manger would not give anything other than the points. I have no problem paying $140.00 for a room but do have a problem paying for it when it's not clean! Not many hotels in Buena Vista but go somewhere else!

The staff are superb. Everyone there was really friendly and kind. Every room in the hotel has gorgeous views of the mountains all around. The pool and hot tub were clean and towels were available. The pool was actually a decent size. Parking was easy and it was easy to get anywhere in Buena Vista that you wanted to go - great location. Housekeeping did a super job and check in was great.

Arrived for a mini-vacation and work trip. Was very warmly created by Teresa at checkin, who went out of her way to allow an early checkin for me. Chris in the evening was very kind and helpful, always answering my many monotonous questions effectively...and was kind about making more key cards as I kept misplacing mine. At checkout, Rita said she was new and it was only her first week, by my goodness, you would have never guessed. Very sweet and eager to assist. Rooms were clean, however everything was dusty. Also, it would be nice to have a few more keys to the fitness room or have the room keys as a form of access. Just a thought. All in all...when returning to the area, this will be my go to hotel hands down.

Clean, great breakfast, comfortable beds. But as the title states I think the price is pushing it just a little bit for Buena vista Colorado. I'd also like to see a better lighting on the backside of the hotel for trucks with trailers... It could be as simple as some power pole with solar powered lights.

Able to accommodate a one-night stay (in late Oct) at the last minute as we were passing through town (after coming over Independence Pass) and getting late in the day. Good bed, decent room, nice staff, decent breakfast with several options. Probably best chain motel available to use in Buena Vista, CO. Lots of construction going on in the main street through town.

Very personable, professional and attentive staff. The hotel location was good for hiking, hot springs, shops and a couple good restaurants. The adjacent shop was filled with unique gift items. Breakfast was a nice variety and the rooms were comfortable and clean.

This hotel is located on a busy road with only a parking lot separating the building and the road. We asked for a room on the back when we checked in at 4 pm. The clerk told us they were fully booked, and no rooms were available on the back. He added that we should have requested a room on the back when we made the reservation. We felt he implied this situation was our fault. Then he asked the manager to come to the desk. She said we could have an "executive" room for $20 more. It seemed like "bait-and-switch." This has never happened to us before, and we travel a lot. When we agreed, she gave us the choice of four different rooms. We were a little shocked that there were four rooms available in a "fully-booked" hotel. The room we chose was fine except the sheets were so pilled that it was difficult to sleep. Also, there was an ice machine in the hallway making an awful racket. The room was spacious with a small refrigerator. There were a couple of robes in the closet. I guess that is what made it "executive." Our bill was over $140 for our stay in this standard Best Western hotel in a small town in Colorado. When we had dinner and shopped in Buena Vista, other places were great. Everyone was respectful and friendly. We will certainly visit Buena Vista again, but we will find somewhere else to stay.

This is the s\\second time I have been at this Best Western in two months and both times was immensely satisfied: Friendly staff, clean well appointed rooms, very nice breakfast, and nice pool. It is a long stretch sometimes on the roads in the mountains, and this hotel is certainly a bright spot.

We decided at the last minute on a one day trip to Buena Vista for our anniversary. We looked at some of the b&bs, but decided on the Vista Inn. Good place to stay. The rooms are just the right size, and we got a beautiful view of the mountains. Great pics early in the morning. The king size bed was perfect and clean. The breakfast was a typical free buffet, but the coffee and donut holes were amazing! The staff was friendly and the hotel close enough to town that my husband and I rode our bikes everywhere. Good last minute choice!!

Buena Vista is a well-kept secret. We were travelling from Durango to Denver and I basically stuck a pin in the map to find a place to break the journey half way. How lucky I was! Buena Vista is a beautiful little town and the Best Western Vista Inn turned out to be way above my expectations. Best Westerns can be hit or miss as they are all independently owned but this one is remarkably good. They have a lovely coffee shop and a superb gift shop, the rooms are extremely clean, comfortable and well appointed and the staff are pleasant and helpful. We requested a room with a view when we booked and we were not disappointed. They gave us a room with a lovely view of the mountains. There are some great restaurants nearby.

I am a Choicehotel member and had a few average and below average experiences at Quality Inns recently and decided to give BW a try. It didn't disappoint me. The hotel is well maintained. Service is a bit in consistent: the service during check-in in the evening was sub-par. However, the manager/representative in the morning and during our check out (10/10/2016) was very helpful, pleasant and gave us great tips for local hiking trails.

This is a fine Best Western hotel; clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet, and a delicious, wide variety of breakfast items. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our children tried out the pool, which they found to be a good size, bigger than most other hotel pools. We did not have a chance to use the facilities in the fitness room, but note that in order to enter, the key must be obtained from the front desk. Room keys will not work. We stayed here in order to visit the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs which is located close by. Buena Vista is beautiful in the autumn, vibrant with golden aspen leaves and other spectacular foliage. I would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night in a ground floor level room. The room was nice, clean, and well appointed. The beds were comfortable. The pool and hot tub (inside) looked fine, although we did not use them. The hot breakfast was quite good - at or above the level of a typical Holiday Inn Express. The front desk staff were helpful and honest. This hotel is within walking distance of some restaurants. The only issue we had was with the "cool", no touch key cards. If your card comes anywhere remotely near your cell phone (direct contact is not required), it'll stop working. Then you'll have to go to the front desk to have it reprogrammed. We each had this happen one time. Placing the cell phone in a front pocket and the key in the back pocket seemed to be safe (just don't hold your key over your front pocket). This Best Western is currently pet friendly if you ask in advance (we paid a $25/night + tax fee). Next time we're in Buena Vista, we'll stay here again.

We stayed here one week ago. There are a lot of good things to say about this place. The beautiful view, the overall comfort of the room and great towels. However, maybe because we booked through hotels.com, we were given a room on the second floor at the back (no elevator) and, though the bed seemed comfortable, the roughest sheets we've ever slept on, the roughest toilet paper and tissue paper we've ever experienced almost ruined the stay for us. As for staff, the young lady at the breakfast buffet was friendly and helpful, but the woman at the front desk seemed confused and slow, and though there was an envelope to tip the room cleaner, the tissue box had one left in it (we went downstairs to get our own replacement) and a bobby pin was left on the counter by it. The vending machine by our room was also out of order. I only include this information to be helpful to management.

Large, clean, updated room; beds and pillows were very comfortable; continental breakfast was typical, but average; danishes were stale; no oatmeal, front desk was mostly friendly (just easily bothered by a simple request. Nice property. Would stay again.

Very clean hotel with a friendly staff. The breakfast was nice with lots of variety. Nice patio in back to relax with a great pool. There is also a very nice coffee shop next door with great lattes and a nice selection of souvenirs as well as gift items.

Beautiful location with a great facility. Roadwork kind of hampered our tourist activity. Hotel staff was very caring and the morning breakfast had quite a selection. Cafe on site which is very helpful. We would stay again!

room 116 King Thursday night The start to this stay was unpleasant due to the front desk man having a negative attitude right from the get-go. He was slow in the paperwork process. Then when asked why the discount from a Best Western Travel Card was not reflected on the form he presented for us to sign he rather petulantly said, "Well if you want to stand here for a half an hour while the system makes the adjustment, go ahead. Don't worry, I'll take care of it." So much for the hospitality aspect of check-in. Other than that not so-warm a welcome it was a good experience. The motel has a nice entryway, the grounds and common areas are clean & well maintained. Our room was large and clean. Some of the nice touches included: robes for going to the pool, six large pillows, a lounge chair w/ ottoman, good breakfast selections ( both a waffle maker & auto pancake machine), very good coffee both in-room & dining area, morning paper & to-go coffee also available although not in lobby as expected but in the attached "café" area. This is a great location as a starting & ending spot for the large number of outdoor activities in the area. A few shortcomings: no pen & paper in room; decent tv but somewhat limited channels (no NFL), the guest computer (only one) in front lobby with no privacy, and in the room there is a full-length mirror mounted on the bathroom door such that as one uses the toilet one has a full view of one's self--really great for the excessively narcissistic among us.

I can't say enough good things about this place. We stayed here ten years ago and remembered how much we liked it, and were not disappointed. Room was comfortable with easily controllable temp. TV was great with the closed captioning I like, bathroom perfect with real glass glasses, nice tub and shower and great towels, breakfast had almost too many choices with constant servicing. Coffee maker had real mugs, just lots of little things that added up to a great stay. Also great pool and hot tub.

I was fortunate enough to get one of the remaining rooms in Buena vista. The best western offered a large room, comfy bed, breakfast in the morning and a coffee shop if you wanted something special . Staff was super nice .

I've visited many Best Westerns but this one was unique. It was quiet, the beds were very comfortable and it had the best breakfast ever. Expensive but worth it! The town has also grown since I was last there and has lots of interesting places.

We'd had a less than stellar hotel experience (not BW) in Colorado Springs so decided to cut that stay short and head toward western Colorado via Hwy 24. I checked if there were any BWs and was pleasantly surprised that there is. And then the pleasure came. We were greeted well. We needed to wait a little while because we were checking in early, but went out to scope out the town. When we returned our room was ready - fresh - clean - comfortable. And we got the sleep that we so badly needed!!

We had guests from out of town stay here on our recommendation and nickel. In addition our family recommended this hotel for out of town guests to stay while attending our family's wedding nearby. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and those on the highway side have a great view of the Collegiate Peaks. The back side also looks toward smaller mountains and toward the Arkansas River (not visible). The adjacent coffee shop/gift store is a nice plus. There are a couple of full service restaurants within walking distance, and other restaurants downtown to enjoy. Our guests gave up the two thumbs up for their stay... quiet, pleasant, comfortable beds.

Stayed at Best Western for two nights. Problem with Heater/AC the first night and fixed the next day. Good breakfasts. We enjoyed the hot spa. Staff was great and always greeted us when passing. Beds were not that comfortable.

We stayed 2 night at this hotel, it's an old hotel but location was perfect for us before and after hiking in Colorado, it's about 30 minutes to Mt Elbert trail head, it's not cheap, but if you like to stay at the better place than cabins closer to trail head, then choose this one.

We chose this hotel based on reviews and location, and it exceeded our expectations. Every employee we met, from the front desk to the breakfast area to the maintenance man, was friendly and helpful. We witnessed incredible patience from the from desk clerk with a difficult guest. The hotel was very clean and, if the opportunity presents itself, we would definitely stay here again!

The staff was great, the breakfast was good but I was sticker shocked after staying three nights. I would expected a restaurant would be onsite. The rooms were very clean and the business center was a computer in the middle of the entry way.

Im not sure if Best Westerns all over the country are like this, but, if they are, they've now got a customer for life. Clean rooms, huge clean bathrooms, incredible breakfast, amazing little coffee shop attached, and an amazing view of the mountains. I'm not usually a fan of hotel chains, but Best Western has proved that it is possible to have a quality establishment without an extravagant price tag. Must mention how kind and courteous the front desk personnel was. It was a pleasure staying here.

We visited during Gold Rush Days, so the place was busy and full occupancy. But the staff handled everyone with personal care. The rooms were clean. The breakfast was more than the usual microwaved stuff. Some hotel breakfasts seem rushed as there are more people than tables. Not here. Nobody had to eat standing or take their food to their room. Despite all the hustle and bustle, the rooms were quiet and peaceful. WiFi was effective. I'd definitely come back to this place.

We had wonderful weather for August! When we arrived it was 51, and the lobby fireplace was going, which made for nice atmosphere. Our room was clean and spacious. There is an indoor pool and work out room. This hotel is located close to all the stuff in town.

Staff was very helpful in rearranging rooms so that we could extend our stay even though they were booked. They went out of their way to help us get situated in a good room and to help us get car repairs on a quick turnaround basis. The facilities were very nice and the location was convenient for our needs.

We stay here all the time when we are in the area. All employees we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and well-maintained with all expected amenities including frig and microwave. Loved the shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers in shower. Breakfast was ample and yummy.

Employees are very nice, especially the lady in the lounge where breakfast is served. They had a wide range on the breakfast buffet. Very clean and quite hotel. For those that need an elevator....there is not one available!

Hotel located on main road through town. We had gone river rafting near Canon City and chose the town as an overnight spot on our way to Estes Park. We had a room on the backside, one with 2 queen beds. Bathroom was nice, very large. The rate included breakfast which was nice. Only drawback was that the hotel does not have an elevator, so carrying up luggage would be difficult for some.

We have stayed here multiple times over the years, most recently 2 separate times in July 2016. The hotel is nice and the staff are very accommodating. We had one instance where the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, and once they were told this they were in there and had it taken care of quickly. Indoor pool and hot tub are perfect for unwinding and for the kids to have a little play time. Views to the front are of the Collegiate Peaks and on the back to hills. It has a very good breakfast set up in the morning and a surprisingly large and well inventoried gift shop. If you are spending time in Buena Vista this is a place to definitely seriously consider.

Definitely enjoyed my stay at this Best Western! Incredible views of the mountains! Very convenient to restaurants, Main Street and the walking path at the river park! Friendly staff who were always making sure I had everything I needed in my room or directions to sights to see! Beds were great and bathrooms were very clean! Will definitely stay there again!

The hotel was clean. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable! The most comfortable bed we have had in any hotel ever. The only negatives were the parking, we were pulling a trailer and they made us park back behind the hotel in a gravel parking lot that was very dark. Also, when I made reservations I told them we had 2 adults and 2 kids and she said they had a king bed with sofa bed available which was enough room for us. However when we checked in they told us the max in the room was 3 people. They allowed us to keep our reservation but it was frustrating to us that they made that error. The breakfast was good and the staff was professional and friendly.

We spent 2 nights at the hotel, Great value & comfortable room! surpassed our expectations, we had a kingsized bed and pull out couch for our family of 4. The room is very large and spacious, we were very comfortable. Our room was kept clean, good sized fridge, good coffee and tea available, washer dryer facilities, friendly helpful staff.

From the time we arrived to the tie we left - this was the best hotel stay ever! Loved the Staff - Eva, Sarah, Rob, Sami, LeAnn - All extremely helpful & Thorough in reviewing all information with us, getting anything we needed, Best of the Best! All staff very genuine. The Hotel is pristine. Best Mattresses too!!! We loved the Coffee Shop & Gift shop too - it was icing on the cake!

Room was clean, and although we were early, they worked hard to get it ready for us. Above average breakfast, good coffee offering and well varied options. The whole experience was just BLAH and IMHO, a hotel like this should NOT go for $180 a night, market demand or not, this is just not the right level for that kind of money. Given no more options in the area, you are basically at the mercy of whatever you are willing to pay to stay there. Feels wrong that way.

After 6 nights in the mountains, this was the perfect recovery hotel. Very clean, great breakfast, comfortable beds, and courteous staff.Good location since everything in BV is so close by. Would stay here again.

was an awesome hotel ,beds were comfy,great service and location..rooms had coffee maker,fridge and microwave..would stay there again if were were traveling through here...a little pricey for us ,but a good nights sleep was worth every penny !

We were only passing through, but this Best Western was one of the only choices for last minute summer season. Reasonable rooms and rates, decent hot breakfast (with good green chile sauce for the eggs!). Right near everything in Buena Vista, and easy access for quick travel back on the highways.

The rooms at this hotel are very comfortable and it is nice and quiet. There was a young man, Dylan, working the front desk all three days we were there. He was so polite. He helped me book an extra night and got me back in my toom when my family left on a fishing trip with our key cards. There was a young lady working at night who helped me seal up some popcorn so it wouldn't get stale. Some hotels have lost the touch for simple extras, not this one. We used the gym and everything was fine in there. We didnt use the pol but it was a large nice area. We went on to stay in Colorado Springs and wished we had stayed in Buena Vista. Very charming relaxed area. We will be back again.

My usual hotel chain did not have a facility in Buena Vista, so this was the best alternative for my two day stay. This Best Western was enough to change me over to the Best Western chain for the next city on my way back home. BTW, a good hotel is not a building, it includes a helpful staff that can survive a power outage and remain calm and helpful.

Towards the end of a 2 week western state vacation. The room was decent sized and clean. Comfortable. Breakfast was standard. Gift shop was very nice. Good location right on the main thoroughfare. If we return, would not hesitate to stay again.

My family stayed here for one night while visiting family. Very clean and comfortable. The indoor pool and hot tub were great. Can't speak to the continental breakfast, as we didn't try it. I enjoyed the soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers in the shower.

Very nice stay in the heart of Buena Vista. Hotel and rooms appear to have been recently updated. Room was clean and comfortable. Decent complimentary breakfast. Hotel itself well kept and in a good location.

Attending a wedding celebration in Buena Vista we stayed two nights at the Vista Inn. Room was more than adequate. WiFi was free and relatively fast. Beds were very comfortable. Parking was convenient. Our room faced the back of the property and was very quiet. No elevator. If you have heavy luggage or mobility issues you should ask for a lower level room. Breakfast was okay, but not as good as many other places we have stayed. We went to the Brown Dog Cafe both mornings and loved it. If not for one incident the rating would have been Above Average. One morning as we were getting ready to leave one of the housekeeping staff walked into the room without knocking. Not only that, but when I asked her to leave immediately she started to argue with me. Yes, I could have double locked the door, should not have had to. Will not be back.

Lovely place to stay, very clean and newish. We enjoyed staying here and the town was nice, too. The room was roomy and nicely furnished. The pool was wonderful and there's a hot tub, too. We had a tiny chipmunk outside our room. He was adorable.

We stopped here as a last minute overnight after passing up on Salida. Nice, clean rooms, front desk staff super friendly. The indoor pool was unusually large and well maintained. The gift shop/coffee shop was the big gem at this hotel. Like something you would find at a much more posh resort!

Comfy bed for a good night of sleep. Quiet, clean room, nice facilities. During breakfast there was a very nice woman keeping things organized and stocked. The breakfast was great! Eggs, sausage, and the full spread of continental breakfast options -- all complimentary. Free wi-fi, free parking, right off the main drag in Buena Vista. After a 62+ senior discount, our room with two double beds was $150 in late June (high tourist season).

My wife and I stayed 1 night 2 weeks ago. Room 121 was clean with comfortable beds...big bathroom. Breakfast was ok. The breakfast room attendant was a very pleasant lady and looked after us very well always bringing us more water and coffee.

not a lot of choices here. I think this was one of the better ones. close to where we needed to be for the white water rafting. Good courteous staff. they were booked solid when we got there but still had smiles on their faces. I did have the rooms I requested when I booked, opposite the highway and the upper floor

We discovered this hotel 3 years ago and it has turned into a wonderful place to stay. Personnel are courteous & very helpful. Rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast is good. However this year we tried some of the local color at the "Evergreen Diner" - another great discovery.

We visited Buena Vista and didn't have a place to stay for one night. We booked at this Best Western and boy were we amazed at the quality of the rooms, cleanliness and comfort. Staff was warm and professional and the price was right. Definitely worth staying here - great location.

Just passing through and needed a place to stay ...would stay here again. Comfortable bed, clean room, friendly staff, quiet, beautiful area and easy access. Buena Vista is in a beautiful area of Colorado so we were surprised that the cost was reasonable.

Everything about the one night stay was very good. Only negative would be that the cleaning person missed some hair on the bathroom floor. At the time, the price for the various motels that I was interested in was the best I could find.

We stayed at the Best Western Vista Inn during our recent jaunt to Buena Vista. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and clean. You get a very nice view of the mountains from the hotel. They offer a nice hot breakfast with a wide variety of choices to start your day. I would recommend this hotel to anybody staying for a few days in the Buena Vista, CO area.

The only bad thing I can say is there is no elevator. At 8200 feet in altitude toting luggage up a tall flight of stairs is a killer. When making reservations, request a ground floor room. The staff was very nice and attentive and wanted to please the guests. Rooms were clean and the beds were most comfortabl

Room was clean & comfortable and the property well maintained. Book a room on the front for a great view. Great coffee shop attached next to the lobby. Breakfast was standard BW which is adequate for us. Close proximity to downtown and the river and south main, down by the river.

Bible in room. Heap of 'USA Today' in Reception. Hotel immaculately presented. Slow at reception but very helpful, pleasant people. Large bedroom, no noise issues, with two very comfortable Queens, two white towelling bathrobes for trips to the pool, etc., amazing quality they each weighed a ton! China mugs - extra marks for these. Two swipe cards for access, these work far better than the insert and pull out style which are tricky to get right. The swimming pool was large and adequately heated. The adjacent spa worked well. Squeezy bottles in bathroom containing good quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion rather than individual toiletries. Unusually the towels were yellow to match the decor rather than the standard white - nice touch. Envelope by television soliciting a tip for room preparation. In house shop cum coffee shop selling unusual items, we bought some early Christmas presents. Good breakfast with wide range of items. The lady on duty was very helpful and kept the room clean and the food items topped up. A glass jar was prominently on display with exquisitely displayed dollar bills!

Lovely hotel in Buena Vista. We were just driving through, but this hotel met our needs perfectly. Main St is less than a mile away, and has excellent food and coffee. Included wi-fi was great, since cell service can be very spotty. Our room had absolutely stunning mountain views.

This was an enjoyable lodging experience. The front desk staff, as well as the breakfast staff, were all friendly and professional. The room was clean, tastefully decorated and the bed provided a nice, comfortable sleeping experience. I would recommend this Best Westren to any one looking for a room in the Buena Vista area.

This hotel was WAY overpriced for what you get! The rooms were in need of a renovation. You can hear other guests through the walls like they are right in your room. The bed had two worn in spots where people have slept. The water never got hot. The free breakfast..... Was deplorable! At one point a customer said the eggs tasted funny and an employee had someone else taste them and hen she said oh well at least you don't have to be to work for the next two days. Terrible stay! We got a room that faced the dumpster as well.

I would recommend this Best Western to anyone; it's clean, updated, has an amazing breakfast with friendly and helpful staff AND has an awesome gift shop attached. Not your average hotel gift shop, this is much more.

The Buena Vista Best Western was a perfect springboard for our Spring Fling it was centrally located to Cottonwood Hot Springs and just miles away from Mt. Princeton Hot Springs and Resort, It was just minutes away from the wonderful shops along Main St. in downtown Buena Vista, it offered a wonderful view from our west facing 2nd floor window and the most pleasant staff, A refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. 10's all around !

This Best Western is better than most. We normally don't stay at chain motels but arrived late in Buena Vista and decided to check in. It was very clean and quiet. Normally we will not get in a hot tub but this one appeared well maintained so we did. It was very relaxing. Road noise was minimal and the view of the mountains was great. Breakfast was good. I would stay here again.

Affordable hotel with nice amenities and a beautiful view. Staff friendly. Nice town. Great hot breakfast. Adorable coffee shop with fabulous chai tea! The pool was a nice size, bummer it was indoor, but was clean and not too cold!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff are very friendly. The free breakfast is your basic Continental Breakfast but our favorite part was the make your own waffles. The Coffee/Gift Shop was very nice not your normal hotel gift shop loved the available items for purchase.

We enjoyed our stay at this Best Western. It was family friendly, with comfortable beds, good breakfast and great pool! The location was perfect for our needs to Monarch Mountain. There is a great park nearby.

Stopping for the night we were looking for a nice hotel with a pool. This best Western had a pool, hot tub, and exercise room. What I wasn't expecting is the very friendly staff and delicious breakfast. The beds were comfy and the rooms were clean. It was a wonderful nightly stay for my family.

The rooms are spacious and clean. Staff were very nice during our stay. Very nice coffee and gift shop area. I recommend at least try the chain tea, recommend it. Brent Jewell was super kind to us. The only small thing is the glass cups, would rather have Styrofoam cups ( I just would rsther not have glass.) The barist is very sweet lady. This is the place I will recommend to both family and friends back home.

Our suite was very nice and extremely comfortable with a king size bed, couch, desk, table, large TV. I was uncomfortable with the cleaning of water glasses by housekeeping. I would recommend using the styrofoam glasses for health's sake.

Recommended by friends... they said this is the ONLY hotel to consider and they were right! Great location, fabulous coffee and gift shop attached, the smoothies were amazing! Super friendly Barista, Jody, who couldn't have been nicer! After arriving home I realized I forgot a camera charger and phone charger behind. I called and they said they would mail them to me. They very easily could've said they never saw them. The entire staff was great! This was my third visit and already have a fourth stay booked!

We chose the Best Western for the price. We were so impressed that this is where we will stay whenever we are in Buena Vista! The only think that could have better was the beds...I am spoiled by my Tempurpedic mattress!

This was a great hotel. We stayed here while waiting to get into the Bed and Breakfast we had reservations for, and after staying at a rather odd (but new and clean too) hotel down by the river that you had to climb very steep steps to get to your bed! This hotel was easy accessed and easy to get to the bed. This hotel is very clean and very quiet, especially for being on a main highway. It was easy to get the surrounding activities.

I've always had a good experience with Best Western. The process is simple, staff are friendly, room is consistently clean and comfortable. This one is located off the main drag but it wasn't noisy and was simple to find after a long drive.

The staff here is exceptional - professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, quiet and CLEAN. The indoor pool area is a great way to unwind after a busy day. There is a delightful gift and coffee shop that I guarantee will have you opening your wallet. Quality items at very affordable prices. Absolutely the best place to stay in Buena Vista.
