« Great Place To Stay For Concerts »

Awesome for going to civic center and mall shopping. Good places to eat around the area and walking distance to Civic Center for concerts and shopping a mall. Easy to get to off of Interstate and zoo is near by for another family fun thing to do.

    « Excellent Staff, Service & Rooms »

Staff is always friendly and goes out of their way to help! Love that we can have our dog with! You couldn't ask for any better food service! Do and will always stay here. The price is good too! We have our Conventions here yearly and always pleased. We always come here when we have Doctor visits and St. A's and they always work with us and our appointments.

« Loud hotel but helpful employees »

Checked into the hotel and asked for a quiet room due to my flight in the morning which I didn't receive I walked back down to the desk about 2 hours later around 12:30 and the front desk clerk was kind enough to move me somewhere quieter she also have me a drink ticket and a breakfast ticket which I didn't get at check in even though I have rewards the only perks of the hotel are the friendly staff I believe her name was Brianna that helped me get a better room the first guy that checked me in was friendly but couldn't hardly understand him the pool area looked fun but was too late due to flight in the morning might come back one day with my family to use the pool housekeeping could do a better job internet wasn't so good

« Quiet, Restful Night in this Great Hotel »

Needed a place to stay on our way West and found the Ramkota. Huge hotel! Our room was very convenient and comfortable. Very nice staff. They have a restaurant so there's no free breakfast but we got a drink and breakfast coupon from the front desk. The lounge is closed on Sunday night so we got a 2nd breakfast coupon. Food was very good. Would have loved to swim, as the pool facilities looked like a ton of fun, but no time. Would definitely go back!

    « Highly Recommend »

Stay here. You can't beat the location. It's clean and comfortable and has all of the amenities you could possibly need. We used the shuttle, the bar, the pool, the restaurant...all great. We stay in a lot of hotels and this is one of our favorites.

« Exactly what I was looking for. »

My husband and I recently stayed at the Ramkota in Bismarck for a weekend trip back to Bismarck. The management team was accommodating to our requests and the staff was friendly and professional. The beds are comfortable and the rooms perfectly clean. I would encourage anyone looking for a hotel with a great location and exceptional staff to check out Ramkota.

    « Filthy »

The carpets and curtains were soiled, the bathroom shower was black from mold. The counter tops have not been cleaned off in quite some time. I got moved to another room which was not any better and the night manager scrubbed the shower himself and replaced the mold shower curtain.

« Gods Child Project Dream Maker Ball »

The staff, food, overall service was way above normal.. Will do events there when ever possible. The property is very easy to locate, also close to shopping and events. A special thanks to the staff at the Ramkota Hotel property for making our 2016 Dream Maker Ball a success.

    « Nice hotel »

I stayed here with my fiancé this past weekend. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a good location, too. Although we didn't use the pool area, it looked awesome. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

    « Wedding »

We celebrated our wedding reception at the Ramkota and we had a wonderful experience. The staff was great! Alli was so easy to work with to prepare for the big event and the rest of the staff treated us wonderfully. The food was delicious! Joan and Margaret served us the meal and they were polite and efficient at getting our meals to us quickly. They even offered us extra food! The rooms were clean and the pool was a lot of fun. I recommend that everyone use the Ramkota as their reception venue in the Bismarck/Mandan area.

« Worst Best Western hotel we stand at on our 17 day vacation!!! »

The first room we were given the bedspread and chair were a dark material with something white on them. The second room we were given the bedspread looked liked someone had laid on it. The TV and phone did not work. The waitress in their restaurant was less than friendly. We stayed at 6 Best Westerns and this was the only Plus and was our worst experience,. I reserved the two rooms (2 Queens for me and 1 King for the other couple) I told the night clerk who checked us in that I was paying for the Queens ($10.00 less than the King). When I checked the receipt left under our door in the morning I was charged for the the King room price.

    « Wedding »

My wife and I celebrated our wedding in the Ramkota Ballroom on October 15th, 2016. The entire staff that we worked with were amazingly helpful, they truly helped make our day one we'll never forget. I highly recommend, booking your next big event with Ramkota. They will not let you down, from the staff, the food, all the way through they are there to do whatever they can to assure satisfaction.

« We had a very pleasant experience in the hotel's restaurant »

We went to the restaurant in the hotel, and when the waitress asked if we needed a table for 2, I told her it was for 3-12 people and I didn't know when the rest were coming down. She had the perfect table for us, waited on our additional guests as they arrived and had the bill ready when the first people were ready to leave. (There was only to be 1 check). Her name tag said "Kristy" and I hope she gets a reward for her great service. We ate breakfast at 9:30am on October 15th. At the Seasons Cafe.

« Great Place to Host a Conference »

If you are planning to host a conference of any size in the Bismarck area, the Best Western Plus Ramkota Hotel is the place to be. Sandy and Alli are great to work with for catering needs. All the guys on the set-up crew did a wonderful job of getting everything ready before we arrived and were always available for any last minute changes. The meals were very good and the staff was always friendly. Our guests appreciate the fact that all events are held in the same building and they can easily go to their rooms during breaks. They also enjoy restaurant and shopping options within walking distance of the facility.

« Building needs updating badly!! »

The Hotel is a nice place overall, but badly needs to be remodeling! !! Carpets are torn ...bathroom's have outdated toilets, tubs, doors,,,,was noisy thru the adjoining room door!! Besides that, no one ever mentioned at any time prior to our arrival that the pool and water park were clisef along with the sauna and hot tub due to new tile being put down....I was really looking fir yo the hot tub and sauna for my achy bones..?? the employees were very pleasant a helpful...housekeeping very attentive on our two night stay.. We appreciated the shuttle ride to the Event center and back again after the concert also....please remodel. ...the location is so nice with several conveniently located restaurants and shopping mall...we will come back one day in future... Bismarck, ND is a beautiful city with many the to do...?

    « Good Hotel »

The only problem I experienced at this hotel was the bed, extremely lumpy and did not sleep well for the 2 nights I stayed here. And it was a King size bed, if I had been given a double bed, I could have switched beds. There was no way to switch rooms as it was a full conference

    4
    « quiet place. »

Beds and pillows were the best!! A good nights rest makes a busy business day more productive. Rooms were clean, although the tub had two chips in it near the drain, the bathroom could use a good scrubbing...corners are black looking. I will stay again.

    5
« Excellent Hotel for Rest and a Convention »

Very quiet restful and relaxing place to stay. The hotel has a very good security staff. The convention we attended was handled very well by the staff even major room changes on a very tight schedule. We felt the hotel overall did an excellent job.

« Clean, Comfortable and Convenient »

On a trip across North Dakota Bismarck was a convenient stop over. The BW Plus Ramkota Hotel was equally convenient and comfortable. The décor, from the lobby to the rooms, was contemporary and pleasing. The value for the price paid was good. The staff very professional in their attire and performance. Great recommendations for dinner made our visit most enjoyable.

    « Helpful staff »

We had our reception in the ballroom there. Asked Jhonny for directions through the hotel part and he helped me find my way. It's a bit of a maze there but the staff is very helpful and made out day go off without a hitch.

    4
    « Helpful efficient personnel for meeting/conferences »

I have worked for many years with some of the personnel in the sales/meetings/conference department at the Ramkota. Top-notch people! Willing and helpful. Great attention to details, and excellent follow-up. Highly recommend for your next meeting or conference.

    3
    « Late Check-in »

Our group was supposed to check-in for a conference at 3 pm and didn't get into our rooms until after 7:30 pm. We were forced to change for the conference in the hotel bathrooms. We were informed that the night before they had a full house. I understand this but don't feel like that should cause problems for my stay. If more staff were needed, they should have had extra for that day.

    3
« Close to the airport »

Clean, cozy, comfortable beds. Nice friendly warm staff. Close to the airport. Internet was good. Good little breakfast in the morning. Pizza parlor next door was quite good. Didnt really explore around alot, limited time frame and rain

« Great Place to Host a Business Conference »

We recently hosted a small business conference (15 people) at the Best Western Plus Ramkota Hotel. We reserved their Governor's Room. I was very pleased with the whole experience. The conference room was very nice and the staff was very attentive. We had the hotel cater lunch which consisted of hamburgers and brats. The food was very good. Sandy, the director of Sales and Catering, was very helpful and friendly. The cost was very reasonable. I would definitely use the Best Western Plus Ramkota Hotel again for my next business conference in Bismarck.

    « In need of a facelift »

The hotel is situated quite close to some restaurants and shopping centres. It has free parking and wifi. In the bathroom some black spots along the rim of the bath tub and the shower head not being properly attached to the wall did ot make a good impression when it came to maintanance and cleanliness. The beds were ok, but the bedding consisted of two thin blankets. In the room there were a refrigerator and a micro, and a safe that did not work. The breakfast was really delicious, but it came at a price. You had a great selection of things to order from the menu. The aircondition worked well. Free parking and wifi. There is a swimmingpool but it was closed at the time we were there. We will not stay here again until the hotel has had a facelift.

    « Fabulous Stay »

We stayed on our last night of vacation where we had been touring through South Dakota and North Dakota. We were traveling on part of our vacation over the Labor Day weekend so everywhere we had been going and staying was full of people making the best of the last weekend before back to school. Well we lucked out!! We arrived on Labor Day and the hotel was as quiet as can be! We were greated by a great front desk clerk and since we were staying w/ a pet, they had a gift basket for our dog, complete with a water bowl, tennis ball, treats, wash cloth and doggie poo bags all wrapped up and presented with a bow. The hotel also makes a donation to the local humane society from a portion of each pet fee they charge. The pool area is great! We pretty much had the pool, slides and arcade to ourselves. The rooms are good sized, clean and quiet. There is plenty of room for the added cot we requested. There are plenty of places to walk your pets too. They offer wifi and some areas of the hotel the signal is not as strong. Should we ever be back in Bismarck we will definitely stay here!

    « Not Great! »

The pool was supposed to be done on the 22nd of September, specifically why I booked the hotel, and when we got there it was not done. Then we did not receive the $5 coupon for breakfast when we checked in. When we got to the room, the door to the balcony was very hard to open, the roof was leaking over the bathtub from the floor above us, the toilet leaked whenever you flushed it. The carpet was disgusting and I didn't even want to take my shoes off. The staff did accommodate us in price for the pool not being done for one of our nights. The breakfast in the restaurant wasn't great! It was edible, but not great. When I stay at a Best Western Plus, I expect it to be better than a regular Best Western and this was not at all better than a regular one; actually probably worse. The lobby was the cleanest place out of the whole hotel.

    « Do not recommend »

This hotel and convention center has seen better days. Just a general dinginess about the building. Room was very dark and needs updating. Oh, and the splattered blood all over the TV screen was a nice touch... absolutely disgusting

    « Vacation »

This was a clean, satisfactory, basic place to stay. A great family value. Restaurant was satisfactory - not great. Probably, one of the best choices in Bismarck. Definitely, no smoking and as I moved through the mid-west - this continues to be an issue.

    « Mrs »

Very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. Floors appeared to not have been cleaned after the use of the room before they checked me in. Didn't care for listening to the baby cry at night near my room either, but you should invest in a good vacuum cleaner, I usually like to take my shoes off, not in that room.

    2
    « poor service »

we were not offered discounts even thought we are reward members. My wife later during our stay talked to the desk personal and was told they didn't give any discounts. We have stayed at the hotel in the pass and received discounts. we finally got a discount the last night of our stay. very poor service.

    5
    « Great convention space »

We recently held our Annual Conference at the Ramkota. The staff was very professional and provided great customer service. The food was great! They met all of our conference needs and were a pleasure to work with!

    3
« Depends On What You Are Looking For »

GOOD: The nice guy at the front desk who was friendly, cheerful and most helpful! He was doing a great job ALL BY HIMSELF (multi-tasking) by handling people trying to check in, the incoming phone calls, the people complaining about their rooms, someone wanting change for the vending machines and so on. Not So Good: Older, massive complex, with various buildings containing many floors in downtown Bismarck. Would be PERFECT for Business Meetings, Family Groups, Conferences or Conventions. But NOT a place if you're traveling & looking for a comfortable, quiet, cozy hotel with a breakfast.

    1
« Sight seeing in the area. »

The place needs serious renovation! We recently stayed here for two nights, upon checking into our room found the toilet didn't flush so we called and were told someone would be right up to take a look. We returned 2 1/2 hours later and problem still not fixed so called again. About 1/2 hour later maintaince showed up and finally got the no flush problem fixed but had a small leak. He put a wash cloth down to absorb the leak and said they would be back in the morning to fix the leak. Based on the frequency of the drip I placed the waste basket under the drip and by morning it was 1/3 full. We left for the day assuming they would fix the problem as promised the night before. When we arrived back at 5;00 the waste basket was nearly full of water and the floor was wet. I called the front desk and told them I thought it was time to move to another room. After about 1/2 hour someone showed up and moved us to another room, a 2 room suite on the first floor. First impression I thought "Wow", however after closer inspection it wasn't much better than the first room. The carpet in the sitting area had a big rip in it, the faucet on the bathroom sink was so loose I'm surprised it didn't fall off, the toilet paper holder was loose and fell off, light bulbs were burned out, etc.. It's a 50 year old hotel that's falling apart and nobody seems to care. Forgot to mention we we returned the first day our room key didn't work, they assumed we were only staying one night even thou or reservation was for two days and had paid for two. Would not recommend this place to anyone based on our experience.

    « Medical Stay »

Had to stay in Bismarck for medical tests. Overall the hotel is nice, convenient and has easy access to to the main avenues of the city. This is the first time staying at this facility that I had anyone who was not friendly/customer service/administratively below standard. If I have to stay in Bismarck again, I will again stay at this facility with the hopes that the stay will be far more satisfactory.

    4
    « Ramkota Hotel »

We chose this hotel because of the pool. Our grandson enjoyed it immensely. The pool closed the day we left for renovations, which were needed. The staff was accommodating, courteous and professional. Location made it very easy to walk around.

    « Wedding Festivities »

We worked with Alli Kraft when we planned our daughter's recent wedding. Everything went so smoothly, from the Social Hour, to the Dinner, Dance, setup and clean-up. Alli was so helpful and knew what to do, which was a big help because she even thought of details we'd never thought of. Plus, she was absolutely correct about the number of appetizers we should order based upon the number of RSVPs, so there wasn't a ton of food that didn't get eaten. It is so helpful when someone is as knowledgeable as Alli is, and we didn't spend extra money needlessly. The dinner was so delicious! People are still raving about the dinner and what an amazing place the festivities were held at, and we've referred Ramkota to a number of friends who didn't attend the wedding and hadn't seen it firsthand.. I know it's something we will never forget, and when our other children get, married, we are going to insist that they have their celebration at Ramkota. Thanks again Alli, for all of your expertise and help! Thanks to all of the staff for their help, but special thanks to Paulette for being so awesome and helpful. Great staff! Excellent experience, all-around!

    « BW Bismarck »

This is my go to Hotel for all my travel. I am treated nice, if there is a issue, it is resolved quickly. Nice rooms, nice beds. My stays are always comfortable. I will make my reservations with Best Western always. If there are no rooms available, I may stay at another hotel, but will always check to see if rooms are available, and will usually get a room

    3
    « Nice area »

We had a very nice room that was clean. It had a refrigerator and a microwave. The shower was good. There is no breakfast. There is a water park and pool area. Make sure you get a map of the hotel when you check in. ! We did not see any signs, such as elevator this way or lobby this way, so we were very confused and lost a couple of times. We did not have any problems with our room, but the hotel just did not feel or look like a "Plus" hotel. It is in a good area and was a good choice for us on our way to Mt. Rushmore

« Quick overnight to airport »

Had visited Theodore Roosevelt National Park (great park!) in the western part of North Dakota and needed a place to stay overnight before our flight out early the next morning. We choose this Best Western for three reasons - (1) only 15 minutes from Bismarck airport, (2) they offered free shuttle service to the airport, and (3) it was within walking distance of Enterprise Rental where we dropped off our car the night before. (I must add the area around the hotel was nice and we enjoyed the walk from Enterprise). The staff was very friendly and helpful - all with a smile on their face.

« Wedding reception and dinner »

We worked with Sandy Gimble at the Ramkota in Bismarck ND for our daughter's wedding reception and dinner. Sandy was very knowledgeable and helpful. The food was served hot and delicious. We've received awesome reviews from our guests on the food and service. Would definitely recommend working with Sandy Gimble and book your wedding reception/dinner with the Ramkota. You will not be disappointed.

    « Here for Wedding »

Nice place to have a wedding, the app's were awesome. The dinner on the other hand nothing great rather on the poor side. Popovers were burnt hard couldn't eat them. Chicken was just ok, salad also ok, veggie were alright. Disappointing really for sure on the popovers.

« Last minute business meeting for 120 »

I needed a conference room with food, snacks and drinks within a week. Ali was very helpful and the staff on the event was accommodating. I chose a simple lunch and it came out hot and very tasty. Glad we chose Ramkota.

« Great place to enjoy friends and family »

Stayed her with some friends and family. The staff was friendly and greeted us with a smile. The room we were in was well maintained and clean The beds are very comfortable! I would highly recommend this hotel.

    « Beyond Horrible »

After waiting in line for 20 minutes to check in we arrived in our room on the 3rd floor. On our way there, we notice the hallways were extremely dirty. We got into our room and it smelled HORRIBLE!!! The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but someone had clearly chain-smoked in that room prior to us. It about made us sick to our stomach. In the bathroom there were used tissues laying on the floor. And the bed coverings were wrinkled as if someone had sat on the bed. I'm shocked by some of the good reviews for this property, because what we experienced was far different. There was even trash on the floor in the hallway outside our hotel room door. The property is old and outdated. We would never stay here again, ever. This is the type of hotel that you might pay $30/night tops to stay at. But definitely not what they are charging, which is way overpriced.

    5
« Best place to stay with awesome food!!! »

Nice clean rooms great service. And awesome food! Chef Keith Roberts does an awesome job!!! It is my favorite place to stay when I come to Bismarck. Also has a nice pool area and is located close to the mall if you want to go shopping you can just walk to the mall

    4
« Nice place to stay »

The staff was friendly and the room was okay but could use some updates. The restaurant had a wonderful buffet set up with good food. I wouldn't recommend the lounge though. It wasn't busy and we sat there for a few minutes without even being acknowledged so we got up and left.

    1
    « Traveling »

Stayed here in August. Front desk was pleasant. But no free breakfast only a coupon towards breakfast. Would never stay here again though. Room was over priced. Too far off the highway. The room was dingy and depressing. The carpet stunk. Felt the room was unclean. The bar was not appealing.

    3
« Okay; but dated decor »

Apparently they'll be improving thier swimming area this fall. Between the restaurant and the rooms I felt drawn back to the early 1980s; very dark decor. Room was not particularly clean; still had items in the fridge from the last occupant.

    « My getaway place »

I enjoy staying at the Ramkota when I am in Bismarck. Shuttle Bob is a very nice, interesting person! Cindy in the lounge makes our visits a lot of fun! She is attentive, personable and she is always smiling. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

    « Our go-to hotel in Bismarck »

The Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck offers shuttle service to & from the airport, and free parking during our trips. The hotel is nice, offers a great full breakfast, and is a pleasant place to stay. They also have a great waterpark (which we didn't use this time.)

    4
« Great Place to Stay »

The Hotel was clean and comfortable. The Hotel was very close to resturants, Mall and Places of interest. Great pool and family friendly. I was there for a Conference but took my daughter along. She had plenty to within walking distance of the Hotel. Employees where helpful and courtious.

« Held Annual Convention at Ramkota »

Check in was late...didn't have rooms ready until after 6:00 pm for our attendees and even then the rooms/bathrooms and hallways were dirty. Night time setup crew did not know what they were doing and were very hard to find when we needed them.

« Great Pet Friendly Hotel! »

Unexpected travel to attend a funeral and needed to travel with my small dog. Very grateful to find a pet-friendly hotel with an open pet room. When checking in, we received a gift package for the dog along with tips on dog parks in the area. Great experience!

« Appalled at the behaviour allowed in the pool area »

We stayed at this hotel on Saturday night in early August. We specifically booked this hotel (and paid significantly more than comparable hotels) to enjoy the "family friendly" pool area and waterpark. We went down to the pool at 9pm and were appalled at the adults and the behaviour that was taking place, 15-20 adults had taken over the hot tub with a giant cooler sitting right beside the hot tub. More adult males were swimming drunk in the pool, alcoholic beverages right in their hands. We were not impressed to show up at the pool area early in the night to find this behaviour taking place. Hotel management and security seems to be in favour of these behaviors as we stayed in the pool area until 11 pm and no security came by to stop this behaviour or ask these guests to leave the pool area. However, security was sure to show up and make all the children leave at 11pm when the adult pool hours were to start. Seems like the adult pool hours had started a lot earlier. On top of this, the pool area stated towels would be available and you did not need to take any from your room. No towels were available either Saturday night or early Sunday morning. We were told the towels were in the dryer. Do they not anticipate people will get up early go swim before the check out. Clearly not. We could not believe this behaviour was condoned in the family friendly pool area and we will not be returning to this hotel.

    4
« Hotel near the mall »

Older hotel but well kept. They do have a water park....great for kids. We did not use it. There is a nice gym with aerobic equipment. This is a pet friendly hotel.....the charge is $10. This hotel is not near the interstate but is overall a good buy. We paid $66 on priceline which included taxes.

« Stay for the Weekend »

The Best Western in Bismark ND was an excellent choice for our stay- the staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Coffee is good in the lobby- we spent some time in their lounge, and had good service. I would recommend the hotel because it was clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly!

    « Medical travel »

Impressions that will be carried on. Pool area is dirty and left with no towels. Cracked and broken tile all around large slide. Very dangerous to walk on as they are loose and broken. Next to rooms. First room, Dirty. Moved to next room even dirtier. Room needed vacumming as there was left over food etc on it. Bathroom toilet was ick, ick, ick! Windows need to cleaned. Tv stand had dried crusted food that hadn't been washed off. Desk chair was full of Cheeto crumbs and greasy fingers from last stay. Positive note, Our grandson did enjoy the pool. Have photos but unable to attach.

Nice hotel, our room was 1/2 'updated' and 1/2 'dated'... but nice and very roomy. Exceptionally pet friendly, they give you a gift for your pet (see picture)! Interior corridors; 305 rooms. Refrigerator/microwave. Cafe and bar on the premises. Indoor heated waterpark. Shuttle service.

    « Great place »

Ive stayed at the Ramkota Bismarck many times over the years and it's always a great experience. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to take care of whatever needs you may have. The rooms are great as well.

« Nice room, but wash the windows »

This hotel hosts a lot of conferences, which is why I stayed there. My 3rd floor room was typically clean, quiet and comfortable, but the outside windows were dirty and streaked which made my parking lot view even more dismal. The hotel is large and sprawling and the halls are not well marked - - - - it was like a maze and I was lost several times.

    « So-so for the price »

Front desk staff...leave a lot to be desired. Suite was ok, but no pen/paper when we needed it. No coffee table in front of couch for guests to set beverages on, in fact, no table of any type in suite. Just OK, more like a $ 65 night room for this area. (bathroom door hits toilet when opened, really?)

« Waterslide is the highlight »

We stayed here for a family party and booked a room with pool access to take advantage of the waterslide. The pool and slide were pretty great. I can't rave about the rest of the hotel. Our room was pretty damp (but it was next to the pool). It hasn't been vacuumed well, I picked up some cookie crumbs from the previous guests in a couple of spots. The location is super, and the pool fun just about makes up for the mediocrity of everything else. I'd consider staying there again.

    « Good location! »

Had points for a free room, was passing through Bismarck for the night. The hotel was very busy as their was a wedding going on was hard to find parking at times. Our room was located at a balcony overlooking the pool, some people may not enjoy that as it was super loud late at night and early morning. Location was great as was close to restaurants, shopping and waterpark. Not sure if I would stay again, depends on price. For free,of course I would! No breakfast included :(

« Great hotel for our group to stay. »

Every year we take a bus of 45 to this hotel for two nights. Everyone is very happy with it as it is located next to a mall and great places to eat at. The hotel itself also has a lot to do for everyone. Will be back again next year!

    « Loved The Pool »

We stayed with our (2) great grandsons (6 & 8) and we had a blast in the pool. They have a large slide, (2) small slides and an area for small children. They also have a hot tub. There were quite a few people present but we had plenty of room to play. The room was clean and comfortable. They don't have the free BW breakfast but they do have a restaurant and we were given a discount ticket. I would stay here again, especially with kids.

    « Wedding Weekend »

We just held our son's groom's supper, reception, and gift opening at the RamKota. From the first contact to the final gift being opened, it was an outstanding experience. The staff made sure our every need was taken care of and all three events went seamlessly. The food was plentiful and very good and the staff, from the managers down to the wait staff, were very professional and helpful. I would highly recommend the RamKota for any large event you might have planned!

« Things need to be fixed! »

My family recently stayed at this hotel. We thought it looked pretty nice. Which it was. But we soon found a few things that seem to not get fix. Bath tub drainage was worst. Took about 5 minutes to drain. The tub looked like it need cleaning. The toilet also need some cleaning There was green stuff around the toilet flushing part. Ick, icky ick. We will choose better next time.?????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????????

« Love the poolside rooms »

We stayed over Christmas with family. We had a poolside room. It was so nice to be able to sit and watch the kids swim as well as have access to the room easily. The rooms were clean and the beds were fine. The pool area is nice for the kids and they loved the slide!

    « Medical appointments »

Good medical rate The pool was great for the grandkids and the room was very quiet for the night. The breakfast and supper at the hotel was very good and service was excellent. I have stayed at this hotel many times and it has been renovated and updated and looks quite pleasing in the guest rooms and lobby area.

    « Wedding »

My family attended a wedding reception and dance at Ramkota in Bismarck, North Dakota. We stayed overnight and received excellent check-in, greetings, and a clean room. I asked if we could get a room as close to the hall as possible, and we were checked into the first room next to the hall. This worked great since we had a small child that needed naps, etc.

1st impressions!! Patty failed your business terribly, no Hello, no smile absolutely NO hospitality and the sad thing is she ruined it for the rest of you!! First of all you can't understand her, asked her to talk slower and a little louder and got one nasty look, we just got off our Harley Davidsons after riding 10+ hours in the wind. I have No idea why HD is in cahoots with BW, this BW gives a very bad rap for the whole program. No Harley Davidson hospitality, I can get the same 10% from aarp. Oh and let me not forget the stupid breakfast set up you receive one $5.00 coupon for two people towards breakfast, left it for housekeeping and we went to McDonalds. To add to this our rug is dirty the grout in bathroom is gross and missing around tub, two different light bulbs over sink, etc etc........ I'm usually not this harsh but Patty set the tone??

    « Weekend stay »

Nice room, good pool, very confusing layout of the building and parking was a little difficult. Not many accommodations for the high price. For the amount of money we paid for 2 nights, a continental breakfast would have been nice. Overall a good stay.

    « Wedding! »

We chose to have our wedding reception, dinner, & dance at the Best Western Ramkota in Bismarck. We had almost 400 guests and everyone of them told us they had a great experience! The food was amazing! The staff was wonderful & catered to our every need & even brought out extra popovers for our guests & ice cream for a few kids who requested it last minute! The bartenders in the ballroom & the Nickels Lounge were very friendly & accommodating. The Four Seasons Cafe was delicious for brunch the next morning! Kids had a blast at the pool! Even the housekeeping & front desk staff didn't all seem to speak very good English, but were always smiling & very friendly & helpful! Each person on staff that we had interacted with congratulated us! So friendly! :) Would definitely recommend for any event!!!

    « Dark room »

We booked this through Priceline on a special deal. Priceline thought that this was a Casino Hotel (we didn't care, we're just looking for a good deal). We did not see a casino there. The room was very dark even when the curtains were open because it faced into a small courtyard. There was no lighting on the ceiling of the room and it was difficult to see into our suitcases. The beds were acceptable for sleeping and the pillows were very nice. There are two different sections to this hotel, maybe the other section was newer and had better rooms but we didn't see them. We were in building 2. The staff was very polite. For the price we paid it was a good value.

    « Rewards Programs Worked »

The Clerk recognized my reward status and was able to upgrade our room. We fully enjoyed the up grade! The hotel is doing a very good job of keeping their rooms clean and in good repair, This is better then our last stay in this hotel. It is a premier place for conferences in the Bismarck area. This is my hotel of choice in this area.

« Steer Clear of this Hotel »

The woman that checked me in was rude! I walked up to the counter with ID and Credit Card in hand and introduced myself as checking in. She never looked up but muttered, ?ID and credit card.? She took them from my hand and started the check-in process on the computer. She then placed both cards on the counter, slapped a map of the hotel on top of them, scribbled two circles on the map saying, ?You are here. This is your room.? She turned away, still no eye contact. I asked where would be the best place to park to be close to a door and a luggage cart. She seemed upset with me for bothering her again and pointed to the Dakota Ballroom Entrance. There were no luggage carts there. We were able to find our way to another entrance and luggage carts. The bathroom toilet was not clean. The floor around the toilet was not clean. There was trash behind the bathroom door on the floor. I had to clean things up myself. No free breakfast here, but McDonalds is close by.

    « Sleepless »

We were on the 3rd floor above the pool... the noise factor was ridiculous..pool stays open to 11pm! Then the noise came from down the hall...kids running around still at 1130pm..I'm sure the walls are paper thin...the rooms were nice and big...comfy beds but that does not make up for the noise. ..if you want any sleep at all...ask for room farthest away from pool...

Nice room on first floor. Back of motel is quiet and comfortable. Good WiFi in the room Beautiful updated decor and amenities. Did not have time to swim but it looked beautiful. Excellent room service menu with breakfast ordered the night before and brought in at whatever time you choose in the a.m... Nice helpful check in staff.

« MIranda in Nickels Lounge »

Miranda served us a couple of times during the Rotary District Conference last month. She was awesome and actually addressed us by name each visit. She actually knew our names (without us wearing name badges) and remembered the drinks we ordered the previous evening. As another service business owner, I would hire someone with her positive attitude 10 times out of 10, regardless of their training. You cannot train an attitude like that, she is a total winner!

    « Very disappointing experience »

We were here with a very large group which had a block of 75+ rooms reserved for the night of 10 June, 2016. There was no consideration received for our business such as motorcycle parking, bike wash, pleasant greeting on check in. There was no recognition of our attendees or our business. The property is extremely dated and some members expressed dissatisfaction with the condition of their rooms and furnishings. Our room appeared to be clean but there was a french fry on the floor when we checked in. The bed was apparently old and so well used it sagged to the middle. We were there on a Friday night and the bar was staffed with one waitress and one bartender. This is a large bar and it was standing room only. We waited over 30 minutes for drinks to be served, many did not get any drinks at all or the wrong order and no correction made. More than a few left angry. When you know that your hotel is sold out for the evening you should make sure that your restaurant and bar are staffed appropriately. When we went to the restaurant for breakfast the hostess would not pause in her sorting of paper money all facing in the same direction to seat us. The waiter we had was very attentive and the food was good. When we finished our meal and went to pay the hostess/cashier was still so intent on her accounting activities that a waitress took our check into the kitchen to ring up so we could leave. I am not in the habit of making negative reviews and give praise where praise is due but as you can tell, this was not an enjoyable experience for us, especially considering the business we brought to the hotel. Very, very disappointing.

« Less than what I paid for »

We booked a King Suite on TripAdvisor. Trip Advisor stated that the room would come with a in-room Whirlpool (which was the only reason we paid that much, we didn't really need a suite otherwise and would actually prefer a queen bed over a king). It was a king suite but there was no whirlpool in the room. On top of that the shower in the room had it's hot and cold swapped, so if you turned it towards hot ice cold water would come out, and then switching it to cold caused scalding hot water to come out. Neither were really big deals so we stayed the night and let the hotel staff know about the inaccuracy of the post and the broken shower on our way out, and again in their survey. Overall the hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the room was nice. Just not what I would consider paying a bunch of money for.

    « Most convenient!!! »

This hotel is at a perfect location! Walking distance to the mall, civic center, and many restaurants!!!! The room was clean and comfortable. The only problems we had was figuring out the thermostat and the check in process. I will stay here again.

    « Below expectations »

Stayed 2 nights for a family getaway. We had a poolside room. The pool area was very fun and we enjoyed that, however, the beds were very uncomfortable and our room was not cleaned after the first night. Our backs hurt so bad we contemplated checking out and going somewhere else. The proximity of shopping and restaurants is helpful though. I don't recommend this hotel if you want a comfortable bed.

    « Great lounge experience »

We wanted to take the time to let the Ramkota know what an excellent person they have working in their lounge. Cindy was working on Saturday May 14th when we stopped in the lounge. We had such a pleasant experience the first time we stopped in that we went back again later.

« Standard for Business Travel »

« Great Location, Loud Pool »

This hotel is a great location to shopping, civic center and many eating/drinking places. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and the stay was pleasant enough. We had the unfortunate luck of having an inside pool view room. The pool opens early and closes late and is very very noisy. Would not stay in this type of room ever again. For families who want that, it is neat b/c there are balconies that you can sit and watch your kids. The pool view rooms are dark as well. The housekeeping attentiveness leaves something to be desired. Upon check in the room was clean enough but on our stay over days not all items were replenished, garbage was not emptied and the beds were haphazardly put together for a disheveled appearance, even though we tipped the maids generously every day. The bar is nice and the food good. Friday night there was only one waitress on staff for a very very full bar. She did the best she could at keeping up but there should have been more staff on. The wait for service was too long.I would think the hotel would be aware of the events going on or at least try to forecast a little better and send staff home if it's not busy. Overall basically satisfied with everything but the housekeeping service.

« One night Stay near airport »

We stayed here because it was close to the airport and they had a free shuttle. Our stay was quite and we had no problems. Rooms were clean and everything was in order. Breakfast was good. It is an older hotel but all worked well0 We didn't use the lounge or ate dinner as we came in late and needed to catch a flight the next day..

« Had issues but a fair hotel »

The room had a non-working blow dryer which my wife and daughter would liked to have working. I also tried to use the phone to call the front desk and report my issues but that didnt work for me either. It stated to call the front desk you just dial 33 but that gets you no where. The hotel elevator by door 8 had an odor that smelled something like a sewer and it was even in the hallway by that elevator. I didn't report this to the staff either. My stay never took my by the front desk except for check in and out which is why i never visited with that staff. Also out back by door 7 there was trash piled up all day (Saturday) of our stay. It was quite disgusting to have to walk by this to enter the hotel. I like this hotel in Bismarck but honestly every time I stay at a Best Western hotel any more I seem to have something wrong to report. I now see why I normally tend to book other brands.

    4
« From Bad to Good »

I recently attended a convention at the hotel. When I arrived to check in the gal at the front desk was very unfriendly and unable to help me. I was very frustrated by this as I was tired and just wanted to get to my room. She sent me into the sales office where I dealt with Sandy. She was very friendly and helpful in getting things taken care of for me. She made me feel like someone actually cared about my concerns. If it had not been for Sandy I would have never stayed at this hotel again.

  • 2
    « Bad experience »

The front desk people should know the Handicap Room is not clean the toilet stinks and beds were not even done, the most filthy room I ever had since I started traveling, because of that reason I dint book my room in Mt Rushmore and will start thinking twice the behavior of Best Western management against CLC customers. I will voice it with CLC that this chain should not be included in our hotel searches.

    4
    « convenient, peaceful »

We had a good stay. Nice to have bar, restaurant options while being within walking distance of mall. The girls loved the pool area and I enjoyed the peacefulness of the rooms - not a lot of noise or interruptions in the hallways. Everyone was very nice, check in was quick and easy. Not the newest hotel but they have recently renovated so nothing seemed outdated or old. My favorite part is the location and proximity to venue for the concert my girls attended.

    2
« old outdated and food crappy »

we have tried to get our conference moved up stairs to ball room for years but its lways booked so not going to rent the basement anymore for a conference cant use internet or get cell service well at all. so couldnt have vendors and had very unhappy attendees. food was way over priced for the quality.

    1
    « Rediculous. »

Where to start? One the front desk has a very hard time to communicate with a language barrier. Get to our room and the mess starts...... our peephole in the door was spray painted black so we were unable to see out, the door knob to the bathroom was broken, our microwave was not plugged in... we then notice that it doesn't reach any outlets near it so we had to move it in the wooden station across the room for it to plug in, it looks like there was water issues due to huge rings all over the ceiling, and to top it off our patio door doesn't lock. This was a trainwreck.

    3
    « Language »

Could have staff at front desk who are better skilled at English. Was frustrating when both hard to understand between staff and myself. Would have made check out easier and less painful. Due to the inablity of the staff to understand or try to help me, required using my personal credit card when this was a business trip and she was unable to understand how to use a credit card number. Staff at check in stated no problem once number was given and the staff at check out was clueless. FRUSTRATING!!!

Hotel was accommodating. Staff worked well on things that we had requested. Sales and Catering Ladies (Sandy and Ali) worked very well in getting our conference together and planned. « An Okay Stay »

I stayed at this hotel while traveling to Minneapolis for a conference. The hotel itself was okay. My room was nice a quiet and was well furnished. Parking was free as well as wireless internet with good strength and speed. The heater in the room was quite loud when it turned on - sometimes waking me up. The hot tub was a nice way to relax after traveling all day. Room service was just okay. The food was pretty average in taste but a little expensive. The price was okay at ~$115/night. This hotel has a full waterpark so if you have family this might be the place to stay. Just an okay place, nothing special.

« Always all around good! »

My stay at the Ramkota was for a business conference. My room was your typical Best Western room, clean and was fine for the price I paid. Front desk staff was great and the guy who ran the van and help people out was always friendly and smiling. My experience in their lounge with my colleagues was exceptional! Barb the Lounge Manager and her bartender Lisa were great! They know their trade of bartending and people service to a science! They treated us great the 3 nights we were in the lounge!

I was in Bismarck for a basketball tournament last weekend, our team had a great experience. The front desk was very friendly and helpfull, despite being busy. Our room was spotless and mattress was great! We were also able to spend some time in Nickles Lounge great service and food.

    « Cindy the bartender »

I stayed at the Ramkota over the State Amatuers basketball tournament weekend. My sister & I went down to Nickel's lounge to get a "healer", because we may or may not have had one to many beers the night before & then continued to play a game of basketball in the morning... Anyways, Cindy aka Coach - what we named her- the bartender, was outstanding!!! She was the only server/bartender working at the time & she went above & beyond for me, my sister, & our entire team as they joined us a little later. Not to mention, I had the buffalo chicken wrap & it was the best wrap I've ever had! So, a special shout to Cindy the bartender, aka Coach!! I have never felt so welcome in a place before. You are the real MVP, Coach!

    « Disappointed »

I was given a rare 3 day weekend off from work, so I wanted to take my family to some place new. I decided on the 3 hour drive to Bismarck and stay at the Ramkota because it has a water-park.However, we weren't allowed to enjoy the water-park because of the huge crowd of people who had the same idea for their Easter weekend. After getting settled into our room about 4 pm, I went down to check out the water-park. The crowd was overwhelming. Practically every square foot was occupied. I decided to take a little census. I went around the pool and counted 130 people around the perimeter. This did not include the people in the pool or the kids on the stairs waiting to use the slide. There were 16 tables and 93 chairs, all of which were occupied or spoken for (yes, I asked). Every linear foot around the hot tub was also occupied, with people standing in the middle to get a little share of the warm water. The facility is simply too small for such a large hotel. I went back every couple of hours to see if the crowd would subside. I finally found an empty chair at 10 pm, and slipped into the pool briefly among the dozens of children still splashing around and jumping in from the sides. It was not enjoyable. Very dissappointing

« Great Place to Host an Event »

My company hosted an event at the Ramkota recently, and it was fantastic. We have worked with them for 3 or 4 years now, and it's always been a wonderful experience. Sandy, the director of catering, is always so easy to work with and keeps great notes from year to year--so the service truly does just get better and better! Curt, the person in charge of setting up our ballroom was so helpful and easy to work with as well. It is always great to work with local businesses and with the same people from year to year. It makes for very successful events.

Several months we have been traveling for medical treatment and we have stayed at the Ramkota each and every time. The rooms are ALWAYS clean! We couldn't ask for a better experience during this, and we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else because of it. We highly recommend the Ramkota of Bismarck.

    « Event Summary »

The Ramkota staff did an excellent job setting up for our annual women's breakfast for 700+ women. The crew was efficient (Thanks Trey and others!) and responded quickly to any requests. The meal size was generous and delicious! The restrooms were well stocked and clean. It was wonderful working with Sandy Gimbel in planning this event. She was very pleasant to work with and always responded quickly to questions and requests. Also, I appreciated how accomodating Ramiro was throughout the set up and day of the breakfast. Very nice and helpful crew!!

« Middle of the road »

Not bad, not great. There for 1 night on business, so no frills were needed, and someone had made the reservation for us. Lots of kids and teens in the hallways either coming from or going to the pool. It apparently has been very popular and is getting that "well worn" look. Room was clean and adequate for our purpose.

« Hesitant upon check in but all turned out well. »

I was hesitant upon check in. Just walking up to the building I could tell it had seen it's better days. I could also see that there was some sort of high school event going on. I thought, "great, I'll never get any sleep tonight." I did have some minor problems with noise that night but the supervisor Danielle was quick to listen to my concerns and remedy the situation. She is a great asset to your hotel. I was happy to feel like I was a valued guest.

Check in time is at 3:00 pm and they were not ready until almost 4:00 pm. They didn't seem to concerned that my room wasn't ready and didn't ask if there is anything they can do to help. Swam in the pool area over two days, never saw one towel in the towel racks and I was watching for them so I could grab one for my 1.5 year old. The cleaning service crew in the hallways were nice but the front counter employees need to learn some customer service stills. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

    « OK, nothing great »

Grounds need more attention. Thousands of cigarette butts & trash everywhere you walked. Water "park" needs major cleaning and /or maintenance, whether it be painting or replace't of stairs & slide itself. Ceiling fans in park filthy. Bathrooms could be cleaner. Front desk not that friendly or attentive. Location it the big draw---walking distance to Event Center, Mall & eateries.

I got a room for the night so my grand kids could do something different and go swimming. The pool entertainment area is fun for all ages and my babies had a blast!! Special thanks to Tia, in housekeeping for making sure our pillows and other requests were met. They played so hard that they were asleep before their little heads hit the pillow!

    « Fun Pool Area »

Loved the whirlpool suite. Very nice and clean. However the king sized bed was very uncomfortable. If they'd get new beds, I'd probably stay there again. Pool area was fun for the kids. Hot tub was nice.

Cindy, the bartender, was excellent in her attention/service while I was in the bar. Cindy, was prompt with engaging me and always seemed to know what I needed or wanted. extremely engaging and personable without being overbearing. well dressed and was helpful on any specials or other questions. I appreciate it!

    « OK but Noisy »

If you want a decent night sleep ask for a room away from the pool. It is very loud late into the evening and you share a deck/patio with the adjacent room. The rooms are okay for a budget stay. The heater made lots of noise on our last stay and the tv didn't work. They offered us a room change which we should have accepted but it was pretty late.

« Fun pool for the kids, nice, clean room and great location »

We have 3 kids; they are 3, 7 and 10. Anytime we go to Bismarck they ask to stay at the Ramkota because they love the pool and large waterslide. We like it too because the service is always good and the rooms are nice and clean. We like that there is a fridge and a coffee maker in the rooms also. It is a great location too; you can just walk across the street to go to the mall and our favorite Mexican restaurant is a block away. It is the only hotel we stay at when we go to Bismarck; we highly recommend it.

    « Pleasantly surprised! »

I reluctantly booked a room for a couple of nights at Ramkota for a business conference. I stayed there a couple of years ago and vowed to never enter their premises again. Because of circumstances, and for convenience sake, I decided to book a room there. The staff was accommodating, friendly and helpful. They gave the place a complete overhaul...NICE! The rooms were updated with a fresh look. And, most of all the beds were very comfortable. Sleeping was not an issue at all! I was even impressed by the comfort of the side chair/ottoman in the room. I never would've expected to give Ramkota a five star rating, but I would be cheating them if I hadn't. Great job!!

    « NO Best Western »

You do not want to leave anything in your rm while you have breakfast due to the fact they think you checked out and take your things out. Imagine my surprise when I first walk across the parking lot to my room after having breakfast in their facility and get greeted with a drunk Indian asking for money and then I enter the building to see my room door propped open when I left it shut and locked and find my I pad and other items missing. Management did not seem to think it was too concerning.

    « Overall nice place »

It was a nice place with friendly staff. I was a million miles away from the pool and front desk, though. I also, didn't like how the parents were getting drunk while their children were swimming and what not. It seemed like a big party. I felt uncomfortable with the situation. I have never been to a hotel that allows alcoholic beverages in the pool area.

    « A splurge »

Enjoyed the in-room whirlpool very much, though we weren't really there long enough to enjoy all of the suite's other nice amenities. Room service for breakfast was very well done. Very much disliked the heating system in the room which had a loud click every time it came on. Comfortable bed and bathrooms well lit. Hotel bathrooms should have nightlights so the room light in there does not need to be turned on in the middle of the night for use.

« Excellent, Responsive Management Staff »

Our agency has hosted an event at the Ramkota for thirteen consecutive years. In 2013, our organization and others that were dependent on the facility were concerned that the hotel was declining; its an older facility. We met with the local and corporate management staff and have been very pleased as to how they have stepped up their game, updating the facility, adding amenities, improved staff training, etc. They took our concerns seriously, and made improvements that we greatly appreciate. We look forward to hosting many more events at the Ramkota!

    « Great Service!!!! »

5 star property and even better service! Myself have traveled all over the world and stayed with so many properties, but this was one of my best experiences in a very long time! We enjoyed the lovely "whirlpool suite" and it felt like home, away from home. Special thanks to Samantha Schwab for the great service! You guys will definitely see us again for our next holiday!

« Not the Best Best Western »

This hotel was way below Best Western standards in our opinion. Staff bad-mouthed other staff in front of us; the desk clerk seemed uncaring about a complaint; The shower in our otherwise great room was moldy; the public restroom in the lobby was dirty; and the breakfast food in the cafe was swimming in oil and tasteless.

Great staff they look out for you form check in until check out. and everything in between. The staff is always willing to help. Super nice clean room. The hotel is located across from the Kick Wood Mall if shopping is your thing. There are also many restaurants close by to visit, my bother they have a great one in the hotel and the access to the highway is easy.

« NDTA Team Pool Tournament »

Sandy Gimbel, Director of Sales & Catering, has ALWAYS done such an awesome job of handling our huge 1,000+ tournament for years! I am the Executive Director of the NDTA and I have been working with Sandy for 10+ years and there is never a problem that Sandy can't handle immediately to get the resolution I need. She is so amazing. From dealing with 55+ rooms to book for my players from across the state to handling the room setups to food and beverage. Truly I don't know how she gets it all done with such expertise. I just wanted to take the time to thank her and the hotel for all of their hard work! Our players compliment about their rooms every year and how Sandy gets everything perfect for them. Tammy Weiler, NDTA Exec. Director

    « Needs to update »

Heating / Air conditioning has been bad for 10 years plus. Very noisy and may or may not work. Noisy rooms and beds are not comfortable. The staff was great, but this facility needs to update. Sleep here was not easy to come by which is the main reason for a hotel stay. Good facilities for a conference though.

« Great stay and service »

I booked a conference at the Ramkota. Everything I wanted was readily available and Sandy was instrumental in the planning process. She was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions. I was extremely impressed with every aspect of our conference. During our banquet we had an unexpected dietary need with one of our guests. Paulette was quick to respond in taking care of the issue. She went above and beyond any expectations. I will definitely book our next conference with the Ramkota.

    « Business Trip »

The first person I met was BOB, who picked me up at the airport and gave me a quick history about Bismarck. The second person was Alyssa the front desk clerk who was warm and friendly. I have stayed in fancier hotels, but never had the genuine warmth and caring that these two exhibited. My room was spotlessly clean and the conference we attended was nicely laid out. Really great food and service. I highly reccomend!!

    « Amazing customer service! »

I am staying here four days, three nights for a conference. I have been experiencing the most amazing customer service from the entire staff during my stay. It all started when, after a long day of flight delays, I arrived in Bismarck four hours after my scheduled time at 1:30 in the morning. When I called the front desk, I honestly didn't expect the hotel airport shuttle to be available at that time. However, the night supervisor on duty at the time, Danielle, answered the phone, cheerfully told me that she would be happy to drive out to the airport personally to pick me up, and helped relieve me of a bit of the stress I was under from a long day of travel. - her attitude made all the difference to this weary traveler. in the morning, Danielle was still on duty when I had to get up at 6am to get my display table set up for the conference, and again went out of her way to help me with my materials, access to and use of the business center, and even getting me color copies from the hotel's printer when the business center's printer was only printing in black and white. Danielle is not the only one who was helpful to me - a number of staff from a bell man to catering/banquet staff were friendly, helpful and very professional. I have been really impressed with the quality of staff at this hotel!!

Me and my girlfriend stayed a night to just relax and have fun. for the most part it was an amazing time except are whirlpool did not work and the pool was closed down early. Other than that it was a good stay. Sandy Gimbel was very easy and nice to work with she always makes it a good stay.

    « Very disappointed »

Well it started off well and friendly. Checked in because didnt want to try driving home in the bad weather. Didnt mind having to wait to get a crib for my daughter. It all went south when i left the room to go get something from my car and i heard a crash and my wife yell. The vent in the bathroom fell and hit her on the shoulder as she was using the toilet. It was not properly fastened to the ceiling. So i took it down to show it to the night auditor and he asked what room i was in and said to me he wasnt sure if they would charge me. Im like ok why would i be charged for that? So i went back to my ro thinking hey ill talk to someone else in the morning. Woke up went down to check out and checked out and the front desk guy apologized to me and told me since i booked the room online i cpuldnt get the room discounted or anything said the best he could offer me was $5 off my breakfast. So i left a little ticked off to go take my stuff out to the car and saw i missed a call from them so went back ip front and went back in and was offered a coupon for my next stay. I dont stay in hotels much and much would of rather they just found a way to discount my room. I give the kid props for trying but the vent could of hurt my wife or even my 1 year old daughter if she had been in there. Dont think i will stay there again.

« Fantastic shuttle bus drivers »

Stayed here whilst visiting my son & family, it was a great base, close to the mall, which is just across the road and close to restaurants etc. The shuttle bus drivers were great and if they are not doing airport runs, they will take you anywhere you want and you just need to give hotel a call and they will pick you up too, excellent service, was used quite a lot. The hotel has a great pool especially for kids, with slides etc. Hotel can get quite busy if something is going on at civic centre and also weddings. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

    « NDSC CONFERENCE »

Hotel is close to Bismarck Event Center where the conference was held; close to shopping; close to numerous restaurants; also close to service stations. No problems using the site; did not / could not get a printed receipt on check out due to booking with Trip Advisor which does not make sense to me.

    4
« Good Location, but dated..... »

We stayed here to attend a concert at the Civic center, this is walking distance away as well as the mall. Decent size rooms, had a refrigerator and microwave which was a nice plus. The bathroom is separate from the sink which was nice but the light for both of them was together, so you couldn't turn the light on in the bathroom without lightening up the whole room, weird. Comfy beds and good bar downstairs, just a little dated on decor.

    « Wonderful shuttle driver! »

I wanted to give credit to the gentleman who was driving the hotel shuttle on the evening of January 14. He was just delightful, and clearly takes great pride in his work. Thank you so much for hiring him. Hope you keep him on.

« Poor Experience in Bismarck Ramkota Hotel »

Unhappy with room quality and request for a suite not handled, not good customer service at check in, Cafe meals were not up to par, Room not freshened until 5 PM after a call to front desk. « Great conference venue; wonderful lounge staff »

We had a very positive experience at the Ramkota! Very friendly staff from the moment we arrived. The hotel is quite large, our rooms were clean, comfortable beds, and I was impressed with the recent updates throughout the hotel. All of the staff we encountered went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant visit. Our group had a great time in the lounge where we received excellent service from Cindy and Brittany! There is even a separate room with black jack and pull tabs, which was a plus for us. This is the perfect location for large events, such as conferences and weddings. Would recommend!

    « Business/Family »

Great for conferences because of space. Dark (besides entry) and needs some updates. It has a good pool area for kids and family and the service was average/generally what I expect. The manager did a good job accommodating a specific request, and the front end staff were nice. The location is great because of the many restaurants and mall nearby. This is not a hotel that wow's or gives you a real sense of being refreshed, especially since it is dark on the bottom floor, but it is a decent quality for the price. Not a bad place, but not a great place.

    « Conference Event »

We held our conference here for about 250 people and it went well. Sandy is great to work with and her staff (set up crew to catering) took care of us and never complained when we had changes or needed additional services. It was nice to see some updates to the hotel lobby; hopefully they will continue with this process in other areas as well.

    « Noisy »

It was hard to fall asleep from the noise of a reception being help. We were awakened to someone hitting our sliding glass door, which is located inside the building near where the reception was being held. Security addressed it before I needed to call and notify hotel staff, but it led to not sleeping well. Also the pool was crowded and there were no towels. The bedside tables were not accessible due to doors in-between the bed and table.

« A Good Night Sleep in a Room Needing Repair »

The bed was great and had a good nights sleep. The room need repair: paint is coming off the ceiling and the carpet is worn out. Also the room appeared clean but when we closed the hallway door we found what the maid was not cleaning. This is an older motel and some of the rooms definitely need repair. I will think twice before booking here again.

    « For the kids. »

This hotel is for kids. The water park area is nice, but it is all action and if you are not going up and down the slide, there is no shallow part to just take a little rest. My kids were out of breath the whole time. The beds were not comfortable and the rooms weren't "hotel clean" but they did have indoor balconies which was kind of neat. There was also a little arcade for kids. This is most definitely an attraction for the Waterpark inside, there would be no benefit to staying at this hotel without the waterpark.

« HEATING & AIR IN OLD SECTON »

Even though I made reservations months in advance, I was put in the building that hadn't been renovated, The heater (December at Christmas) was so noisy I couldn't sleep. And the thermostat could not be adjusted. Christmas morning I called the desk & maintenance put in a new thermostat. It was even worse. Finally I complained & at 3 am on the 27th I had to pack up and was moved to the renovated building. The heater wasn't as noisy and I was able to at least adjust the temperature. To add insult to injury, my room wasn't cleaned that day. I did complain & was given a one night refund plus $25 for the cleaning. I have stayed at other hotels at the same price and received a complimentary breakfast. If you have kids & like the pool, it is probably ok.

« Great place to host a function »

Every year we host a business function in at the Ramkota and also stay there during our event. The function facilities are great, the room we rent is updated, bright and spacious. The event staff are very helpful and make working with the Ramkota both easy and pleasant. The lobby area is pleasant as well. The sleeping rooms were updated a couple years ago and are clean and well maintained. Since this seems to be an older hotel, the rooms are large and you hear virtually no noise between the rooms. The Ramkota seems to attract a lot of families with kids since there is a large pool with a water slide. We have had sleeping rooms facing the pool before and you can hear a little pool noise, but the pool close time in enforced and there is no noise after that. I would definitely recommend the Ramkota for any stay in Bismarck. Parking is ample and easy, the location is convenient and close to everything in both Bismarck and Mandan.

    « Pre-vacation stay »

We arrived in Bismarck a few days early to kick off our Christmas trip to Florida. I have stayed at the Ramkota many times in my life. This time we chose a King Suite with a jacuzzi. The room was updated and very reasonably priced. The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms were great. The amenities offered are unmatched by any motel in Bismarck and it is conventionally located by the mall and civic center. Free shuttle to the airport and anywhere in town was very accommodating. The pool and pool side rooms are great for families and children. To top it off, we were able to play a little blackjack during our down time at night.

« Good service! Great Room! »

when I checked into this hotel, I showed them my membership card and asked if there were any upgraded rooms. I explained that I would like a first floor room as I had just had a hysterectomy and did not want to haul my luggage around. The manager gave me a room and my bag of goodies as they do when you have a rewards membership. The then had someone help me with my excessive baggage and that person refused a tip. I entered the room to find that it was in fact a suite! The first room was bigger than some New York City apartments! It had a nice kitchenette, lots of closet space, half bathroom and a large living room area. The real treat was when I opened the french doors to the bedroom. The bedroom had a LARGE whirlpool tub, amazingly comfortable bed and the biggest hotel bathroom I have ever stayed in. When the wifi didnt work right away, the manager called the appropriate people immediately. Additionally, the room service that I ordered was also amazing! Additionally, they let me stay 2 hours later than checkout.

« Should be demolished or have a complete rebuild »

You can tell they attempted to "upgrade" their rooms with some new decor or bedding, but if you take half a minute just to sit and look around you will notice this place is disgusting! I should have taken pictures, but I didn't. I found over half of my towels had stains, constant weird smells (sometimes puke like), toilets with pee stains on the seat, unclean floors (do not look under the bed as you will be disgusted), moldy looking shower mats, etc. This is seriously one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. I will note that I am a Bismarck resident and was here for a conference, so thankfully didn't have to spend the night, but did still get a room for other employees to meet in and put their stuff during the conference. Trust me, find somewhere else to stay as you will be disappointed.

    « Poor service/very dirty rooms »

First off, I am here right now. NOV. 27th, 2015. Got up to let wife and 2 yr old son to sleep. Went down to cafe in hotel I was in at 6:30, only one in there. Had to wait for host to complete room service order over phone to get seated. Read menu, waited and watched host stand and read newspaper, I finally brought her menu back, she didn't even notice that I set it on her station, kept reading paper. Had room service the night before, good service. I walk out of cafe in morning and went immediately to front desk girl and told her the lady host from cafe was just reading newspaper. She said ok, thanks for telling me. I get to room, family is waking, I get on floor to retrieve car key dropped. Looked under bed and food, garbage etc all over. There was even a prescription type of bottle. Took pictures, then looked at bottle date. 04/10/2010. Here are the pictures. Will be last resort to come here again.

The meeting room and service was great!! This is an older hotel so upgrades are needed. My room was not cleaned very well. The room seemed to be quiet even with people talking loudly in the next room, but the heating/cooling unit was very loud so sleeping through the night did not happen.

« PBR Weekend with Friends »

Great service throughout the weekend. The servers in both the restaurant and lounge were friendly and efficient. Everyone was considerate of our comfort and needs. The hotel was hosting a number of different events that weekend and we were able to get rooms together with several different family friends. They might not have been side by side but close together and on the same floor.

The room and convention facilities were just fine as well as resturant. Lounge lacked the necessary personnel to meet the needs of the crowd, same was true with gambling area. Would not open a second black jack table.

    « Extremely Rude Staff »

My room was ok though the sink in the room was very slow in draining. I could overlook the room if the lady at the front desk had been nice. She was extremely rude and needs a few pointers on manners and working with the public. ATM was out of order. The only good thing about this place is the location to the Bismarck Civic Center venue.

    3
    « Less than desirable. »

This motel is a popular conference venue. The rooms are ok. Updating would be in order. Furnishings are somewhat shabby. The electrical outlets are hard to find. One on the wall won't even hold a charger. The only option to recharge devices is in the bath area by the sink. my recommendatuon is to put a lamp with outlets on the desk. Location is good with restaurants close by.

« Not Clean, pool was FRIGID »

When I scheduled the poolside room for a child's birthday party I was told it had to be during the week. So we took off work and traveled to Bismarck only to be told at check-in, 45 minutes before pool party was to start, that the pool heater was out. At this point it was too late to relocate the party. What a disappointing 6th birthday party to have to look at the water slide or risk hypothermia (it was that cold). Staff discounted the room slightly, but that doesn't get back his ruined party. A simple phone call when it went out would have been the appropriate way to handle it so other arrangements could have been made.

    4
    « Great room/Bad lounge experience »

The room was great but very confusing to get to. You actually needed a map to navigate. Lounge staff that night ignored us and service at bar was really slow for very little guests there. Hopefully it's better with other servers then the ones we had.

    « Nice »

We stayed there when they were doing some remodeling and this time the stay was much nicer. Rooms were nice. Kids had a good time at the water park. Rate was good, just under $100. Overall good experience. Only complaint, walls a little thin as we heard a small child crying ALL, and I do mean ALL, night. When I saw them get off the elevator and enter the room beside us I should have requested a different room.

« not pleased with manager »

I found the manager to be rude and unhelpful. We planned a party and were informed when we got there, after already verifying by phone it was okay that parties were not allowed on weekends. They also would not give nor sell us 2 extra wrist bands for my husband and myself so we could supervise ten -13 year old children in the pool area. They were not willing to work with us at all, even though their representative told me the party was okay. We booked 2 rooms and paid around $250. We will not be staying at this hotel in the future.

    « Ruined birthday weekend »

Being a General Manager of a hotel, I might be a bit picky when I stay at any hotel. When my group reservation gets completely lost, then found then lost again, that's unacceptable. This was for my daughters 2nd bday party. We had family coming from 65" miles away. Had everything planned for decorations, food layout, etc. get to the hotel, no reservation. No adjoining room as promised. They completely threw us on another floor. Offered 5 bucks off restaurant coupons. Give me a break. As a GM I would move reservations around to accommodate. It's what you do. Our party stunk. Used one room for food, gifts, visiting. Horrible. Pool area would be neat if it weren't so crowded. You have a wristband policy in place yet I didn't see one person wearing one. It's a waste of money on wristbands if you don't enforce it. Out bath tub / shower sucked. Pull up unit to put in shower mode, half water comes out shower head, the other half out the spout. I was not impressed one bit. Over priced. No discount for reservation error. I will not be back nor will I recommend this hotel to my guests. Much more to add here but it keeps reminding me of my weekend.

This is a must stay in Bismarck! Comfortable beds, super clean rooms and hotel. Accommodating staff. Pet friendly!! We made reservations and rolled in late - what a refreshing welcome we received. They even gave us a dog bowl and treats for the dogs! It's hard to find a clean, pet friendly hotel that doesn't gouge on price. This hotel is superb!

    « Great Place for a Conference »

We held our annual conference at the Ramkota Hotel and had a wonderful experience. We especially appreciated the set up crew getting everything ready for us early. Set up was always done right the first time, so it eliminated any last minute changes. We only heard positive comments about the food, staff and rooms from those attending the conference. This is the only hotel and convention center in the area that can host an event our size and we appreciate the excellent service we get every year.

    « Great Place For A Convention »

This is a great hotel to hold a convention and meetings in when in the area. The banquet food was excellent and 5 star restaurant quality. The meeting rooms were comfortable and sound system was very adequate. The hotel staff did an excellent job in turning rooms around for the various meetings and banquets we had. The guest rooms were quite and relaxing. We experienced a great convention because of the excellent caring staff of this hotel.

    « Dirty »

Rooms were poor. Trash and dried food under the bed. Carpet felt dirty. Dirty wash clothes left in the shower. Pool area was gross. Seemed there was no attention to that area for atleast 20 hours. There were children doing very dangerous things in the pool area. Seemed they should have an attendant check the pool area frequently for cleanliness and safety.

« Great late night arrival service ! »

I recently was traveling to ND on business. I had gone through rough travel that day on the 25th!!! I came across this Hotel and decided to see if they had rooms..it was late. I have to say the young lady at the front desk was awesome! I was beat and cranky, she understood. She got me booked and set up easily ! Her name was Dani....I never got to thank her. My room was ok....bathroom could of been cleaner. But I would stay there again because of the customer service from Dani !....thank you from this tired traveler !

« Best Western Ramkota Bismarck nd »

The hotel had very nice rooms and good cafe, which was clean and friendly hosts and waitresses. Good excess to shopping and airport. I stayed as I a attending a business meeting an conference for school administrators. I would stay their again. They also give state rates if you ask them.

« Did no meet our expectations »

Will not return or look for the "Plus" on a Best Western - does not add value to cost. No early continental b'fast - no upgrade as promised with Rewards - Things were not complete in the bathroom - (toilet paper holder missing) Not as clean as we expected - beds adequate.

« Don't expect wifi in your room »

I first stayed here in 2013 and the hotel was quite dated and our room didn't have wifi. I vowed not to stay here again. I was in town to attend a conference an saw that they had updated since my last stay. So, I decided to give the Ramkota another shot. Although there are updates and the rooms are quite nice, there is still no wifi! Paid for a king suite...but staff seemed cold an distant. I spoke with the front desk and was given a tech support number. After a 30 minute conversation there was still no resolve. At checkout I mentioned it to staff and they were quite indifferent. If you are staying for business and need wifi, I highly suggest you stay at another hotel as the staff could care less about your stay.
