Best Western Ellerslie International

WARNING! We booked this hotel for a concert and it was cancelled at 10 am the morning of arrival. Why? Because the card I used for payment declined due to the expiration date changing due to replacement card. 2 phone calls whilst we were flying to Auckland. I rang when we landed but they had cancelled accommodation already...after 90 mins. Leaving us with no accommodation. This says ALOT about their customer service and how they treat people!!! Luckily Adina Hotel Britomart had vacancy. Beautiful hotel and close to concert free bus. And cheaper. Worked out better for us!

I had a course at the hotel so staying there was more than ideal. Breakfast was included which was lovely, and lot of options for all dietary requirements. I do feel that because of the location and the course I was attending, this was the reason for the increase in price compared to neighboring hotels offering the same.

Having stayed here many times over the last six years, I found the facilities and customer service to be fantastic on this trip. The rooms were clean and well appointed, the restaurant food was tasty and to a good standard and the customer services team were friendly and efficient. I will be happy to be heading back there next month for another stay.

Very expensive for a run down room still with the original 60's Devore and stunk of mould. Won't be staying again for this price I deserve luxury not a backwater smell pit. Best thing was what came out of a bottle at the bar.

Fantastic staff great location lovely rooms thanks so much I will def come back and stay again reception has excellent customer service and the rooms are very lovely our trip was so perfect im so glad we found this place.

Definitely needs a refurb, old and drab, and facilities were poor, could even transfer an international call from reception to the room. This trip was for an international world traveler (owner of a a business empire). Very disappointing to say the least, and quite embarrassing for me. International Conference Centre should be removed. Best Western has lied up to their reputation. Not good at all.

Nice easy to access motel with everything you need, rooms are clean and tidy, bar is well stocked and restruant has a bit of everything to suit anyones taste. Being so close to the motorway makes it easy to gead in any direction

Hi, Apart from great hospitality, I asked if we would be able to park 2 vehicles for the day while at sales meeting, to which the reply was, ‘No problem'. Which was an extra bonus and well appreciated. Many thanks.

The wifi cuts out all the time. My room wasn't made up so I was “upgraded” to the grand suite which smelt old and wasn't that clean. Breakfast in the morning was poached eggs on toast with mushroom. Mushrooms didn't arrive, the eggs tasted of vinegar and the toast was so lightly toasted it was basically bread. On the up side the staff were great. Really friendly, and professional.

Place needs revamping maintenance and staffing wise, with poor customer service. Many of the rooms we stayed in the doors didn't close the room service was poor and, on many occasions, the equipment did not work. When our bookings were incorrect i was made to feel it was my fault, to which it wasn't, and this happened on several occasions. We would not recommend others to stay.

Very nice room and amenities. I will be back in the future as it is also centrally located as well as comfortable. The room had a spa bath and a comfortable bed. It is a short walk from the Ellerslie Village which has multiple cafes, restaurants, bars etc.

Mold on the outside shower seal and roof. No extraction fan in bathroom. Dirty carpets and couches. It needs a proper deep clean from a professional company like Chem-Dry. The sheets were clean and cleaning staff duties were good the reception staff were friendly enough but there's a minimum wage pay feel about the place. If we paid $30 more we could of stayed at doubletree Hilton and that place is pristine. We only stayed here for the location as we had an event to attend the next morning.

The guy at reception was rude to me and rather angry because I could not give him my credit card details and was asking me ( the client) about what he should do!! Then he decided to take $200 bond from me. When he assorted me to the room I asked him if I could order food he said yes and told me when I can order dinner and breakfast and that I could call him anytime. However, he did not show me a directory ( I still don't know if there was one in the room) or given me reception contact number. Even worse there was no room phone!! The fridge had no refreshments, drinks or even water!! The heat pump did not work properly but luckily it was not a very cold night. I tried to hock my laptop to the TV with my HDMI cable but the connection point where it was clearly labeled HDMI did not work!! Oh and the internet quality was very poor

ok so my four children and i are staying here for the weekend(friday to sunday).Its an amazing two story apartment type complex. Theres beds to cater for us all on both floors. The second floor has another room with two beds which are single and in the main room a big double bed. The cleaners do a wonderful job keeping everything tidy and clean.I love the shower/bathroom which ill give 5 stars to. The kitchen area is open to the lounge area which has a single bed but we dont mind as its spacious and comfortable.Theres a tv with sky upstairs and downstairs so while im upstairs watching tele the kids are downstairs playing their ps4. I couldnt ask for a better weekend away from home with all of my children at an affordable price. I love this place and id recommend it to anyone i know thats looking for an amazing place to quietly relax and stay. It has 24hour security so you do feel safe. Theres a pool outside, a lovely restaurant, and the laundry workers are very thorough and very friendly. Thankyou to the lovely ladies who clean and service the rooms daily, also the hardworking laundry ladies A+++, my children and i are very very happy being here. I have decided to put this review in early as you all deserve the best review honestly. We have been here for two nights already and are departing on Sunday Morning.Yous Rock!!! I'm actually outraged at the cost of this place for what is provided. For $240 this place is an absolute rip off. I've slept in better hostels for under $20. My rooms stunk of moldy carpet and nothing about this place is modern. Nothing was clean, mugs with moldy food in them, tables, bedding, shower with pubes. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable with one side sunken much lower than the other. There is no ventilation in the bathroom You should be ashamed of yourselves for charging $240 a night for this dump.

I always stay here when I drive to Auckland. Just off the motorway for a quick exit south and a short walk to shops and the Ellerslie train station. AT HOP card available in local 4 Square. The motel is no frills but I find it convenient to everything.

Check in was straight forward - no issues. Room was great! We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit, one queen bed in bedroom and another single bed in lounge area, kitchenette with cook top, and bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy, warm and comfy. Oh and very important, the shower had great pressure. Only one small issue - couldn't access Sky on the bedroom TV despite indications we should have been able to, but there was a second TV in lounge with no issues there. Impressed with how quiet it was in the room... and great to have parking available within view outside front door. Was also handy to everywhere we wanted to go, and was straight off the motorway, so easily accessed. Only stayed one night and didn't access pool, gym restaurant, laundry or other services so can't comment on those. Will happily stay again when next in Auckland... and probably our first choice for next trip.

The room was very clean although there were a couple of maintenance issues - the electric blanket on one side of the bed was faulty and did not heat the bed. The lightbulb was missing in the lamp over the single bed. The drapes did not close properly. Looked a little tired. May be a little over priced for what it was.

Everything was good. The exhaust fan constantly flapping at the night stopped any chance of a good sleep. The room service was quick and the meals came hot and tasty. Loved the coffee in the morning, a good barista on duty

I had been a regular guest here - l mean once per year at a minimum. But was my location of choice in Auckland the past ten years. When l arrived to check in l was greeted nice enough - but half way through this the staff changed - l needed to repeat myself - not the best. They could not find me in there system. Hard to believe as l was a Motel owner for 13 years. Then l guess the first time l had been asked - pay in full now - not so polite manner - l asked why - that's our policy - OK. Went to the room and this was nice , clean and quiet. We turned the TV on and would not work. OK we will let them know tomorrow. It was still in hours for the pool but were told this was not available and not heated. Truely had been a feature for us and huge disappointment as it was and still is advertised. Let's move on. My daughter was first to have a shower. She had to do it in stages to allow the water to disappear from the flooded tray. Then my turn - fortunately a fast shower'er but still flooded. Next day l mentioned the issues and they said they would fix. A three day stay for us so it was important. Cut a long story short l went to check out - with none of the issues fixed by the way l got the same not so polite gentleman said we are sorry and would be fixed so your next visit would be more enjoyable. Not how it works. This is where l was most upset as these were not small issues and not just one - it was multiple. I expected a refund at the very least. Poor service, poor attitude and two very disappointed guests that may not return- unfortunate as its a great location for us

Staff from this hotel turned up at midnight needing a place to stay at my room. Stayed whilst I slept drank my drinks and smoked cigarettes.is there not security measures or boundaries ? I have had the owner Sima scream down at the phone and I feel very unprofessional and unstable behaviour. Service poor I continually have to ask for towels and service and regularly rooms not serviced. Do not stay here terrible

I am not one to post reviews because I find “Karen's” to be embarrassing! But considering the injuries I gained here action needs to be taken after gaining serious injuries at the hotel where I tripped over flashing that was well camouflaged into the floor without any “watch the step” or paint or anything to highlight the uneven surface I then fell down the outdoor tile stairs onto concrete where there was broken glass clearly from a break that hadn't been cleaned up properly. My face is going to have multiple scars! I won't post pictures of my face and injuries for obvious reasons. I had called reception distraught asking for a first aid kit and ice packs which I was told they don't have either! So I asked for ice! The man brought me a RAG that had rust spots all over it and was grubby and put it on my face before I took it quickly took it off my open wounds! (While he also told me I was such a brave girl!! Seriously I'm 32 stop patronising me!! He finally brought up a glass of ice after I repeatedly asked fir an ice pack and I asked if he had a bucket so I could put my hand in in and a plastic bag for ice to go in for my leg as both were swelling up incredibly quickly! He grunted and said no we don't have either! Come on you're a hotel! Surely you have an ICE BUCKET!! He then suggested I put the few pieces of ice in the hot water jug... wow! Next level redic at this point I was like you're kidding. Could that be anymore unhygienic (note: if you're planning on staying don't use the hot water jug. Who knows what else they don't mind putting in there) in the end he finally brought up an ice pack and a bucket that had ice and water in it. I ended up having to spend the night in hospital with 7 or 8 x-rays on my leg and hand (can't remember how many because.. you know I have multiple head injuries!!!) It also took two nurse and a Dr and injections of local to be able to figure out a piece of glass was lodged so far into my nose they didn't even know what it was. This piece of glass was pretty big! So for me taking a night for myself turned into a nightmare! I had also requested when I checked in the late check out for 11 which he said was fine so when I was woken to my door opening at 10.16am I was pretty surprised! When I checked out at 11am the manager had no idea about what had happened and was shocked and they literally tried to throw cash at me clearly to keep it quiet. I didn't take it as I'm so angry your $100 isn't okay!! The person working shouldn't be working there! She was so mad and showed me they had first aid kits and all (although with my injuries this wasn't enough clearly!) she told me she would get in touch ASAP with the situation and sort it out and I am yet to hear from her! I have talked to two incredibly rude people today the first not telling me the manager was now on holiday until Wednesday which is interesting as I said I wanted to know the name of the company of who does the health and safety checks which she refused to tell me as did the next person I talked too. Guessing they're scared to tell me because I will report them?! Surely if they have nothing to hide this shouldn't be a problem. She also shoved multiple food items in my bag and zipped it up. Like what? I just want this seen too! The fact she asked if I wanted her personal cell phone number meant she was taking it seriously yet I didn't take it as from her concerned I thought she was getting into it but I never heard anything! So calling the hotel and them telling me they wouldn't disturb her she's on holiday was insane! If she's the only one that can give me the information about the Heath and safety of a 24 hour hotel yet they can't contact her isn't acceptable! They also hung up on me when they said they would only send her a message and not call her. Woooooow!

Maybe it has other names but I had booked this online via Expedia as Best Western. Hotel situated in this intersection that really doesn't have anything nearby. Closest shops and restaurants is about 15 min walk. We got here early but was told we really have to wait until after 2p. The cafe was closed until after the first week next month. Overall, the hotel is a bit dated, but the room size was more than expected as we had a family of 5, which had 1 single downstairs and queen and 2 twins on 2nd level. The price was reasonable. Wish it came with breakfast but it does have a full kitchen, so we bought several snacks and breakfast items. One thing I was impressed was the hot water shower as it was very hot and powerful.

Stayed in an executive studio. On the awesome side: lovely large room, real coat hangers, spa bath, room in the bathroom for my stuff, decent light in the bathroom, and great set of toiletries. All staff have been friendly and helpful. Could be better includes having real milk and actually following your environmental policy with respect to the towels. Will be back.

Very Clean and comfortable; a little pricey, but not too bad Staff were excellent, very friendly and willing to assist. Reasonably close to airport; about a 20 minute drive. Meal was quite good, and reasonable value. Also the beer and wine selection was quite okay.

We stayed for one night and morning in Auckland. Good location for airport. 17km straight forward drive from airport. Good free car parking. 5 minute walk to Ellerslie rail station. Train to Quay street $5.50 single adult fare. 4 stops took 20 minutes. Very easy. Reception staff very helpful. Would recommend our room which was a penthouse studio. Large clean and comfortable. A great start to our touring holiday.

Value for money and convenient location to most of the important places. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Warm welcome. Nearby schools and botanical gardens , restaurants and cafes. Easy access. Check it out. Dr Aron Kondasinghe Sudath

I arrived very early before check in & was hoping to drop my bag off & check in later. After I explained I was going to have eye surgery Soraya on reception went out of her way & arranged to check me in straight away! I was upgraded to a bigger room on the ground floor which made life a lot easier for the Uber to drop me right outside after my surgery. The room was spotlessly clean & fresh smelling. Nothing was a problem, even leaving my bag at reception the next day after I checked out was a breeze. I would definitely stay here again!!

We arrived earlier than expected after a long arduous flight. We came to the hotel to store our bags and hoping we may be able to check in early - again hoping! The welcome received was just outstanding and we were given an upgraded room, along with an early check-in. Wow, bonus - and the room has a spar bath - just heaven after a long flight Thank-you, our Best Western Ellerslie International Hotel and Conference Centre experience again has been amazing

I travel regularly to Auckland and always stay at this hotel. Clean tidy and comfortable rooms with a recliner chair so I can watch TV in comfort. Close to the railway station and only a short walk to plenty of restaurants and coffee bars.

I had a very comfortable stay here. The room was very quiet, tidy and well thought out with modern facilities. I liked how the power points were above the bed side tables which allow for charging phones overnight. The bed was super comfortable with a good selection of pillows to choose from. The very friendly and welcoming staff made it a pleasure to deal with after a long day at work.

Enjoyed a lovely stay with friendly and helpful staff. Premium room was lovely and very well equipped. Restaurant was casual but with amazing food at a reasonable price. Thank you for making us so welcone.

In Auckland on a work course (not at the conference centre) for a week. The rooms were tidy, clean and a generous size with a bed was sooo comfortable, I had a great nights sleep every night I was here. No traffic or other noises heard from in my room and the shower was great. The wifi was great (compared to my country wifi so i guess couldn't compare with the rest of the world). I used the gym once, token gesture on my part, but had everything you would need if you were a committed user. The food in the restaurant was really good but there was just short of an hours wait for the food on the night I actually took notice of the time. The staff were lovely and i didn't mind too much but might be worth considering if you are not a patient person. I would definitely stay here again.

Had an awesome time staying here with very helpful staff whi went out of their way to assist us sorting transportation. Rooms really clean and well stocked and well set out. Restaurant was a bit slow bringing food but that would be the only complaint.

After a less than pleasant stay in another hotel last week (see last review) it was great to again stay here. Although there are new owners here none of the standards have changed and the presentation and feel is superb. The food from the restaurant is of a high standard and tasty as well as being reasonably priced. The best feature of this establishment is the staff - their attention to detail and helpful attitude has and continues to be superb.

My family and I had a dreadful incident involving our caravan and needed urgent accommodation. Kate who was in the reception desk when we rang was fabulous. She assured me that she would get something sorted for us as fast and painlessly as possible. They got us a room booked and gave us wonderful discount to help with our wows we we're going through which was awesome and amazing of Kate to organise for us. The team were amazing and so good with our daughter and making it a very special time for her which was lovely. So on behalf of myself (Des) my wife (Dale) and our little daughter (Jamie-Lee) thanks for a wonderful helping hand. Overall I would rate this location and staff 10/10 and would strongly recommend them to everyone.

Stayed 4 nights for a conference nearby. Very friendly and efficient at the front desk--lent me a phone charger when a friend couldn't use mine. Cleaning staff also friendly. Room is no-nonsense but has what you need and expect. Mattress firm and comfortable. (I bring electrical tape to cover over all the little lights on TVs and smoke detectors; and I use earplugs when I travel; so, dark and quiet. My room was back from the road and on the second floor. A friend in a first floor room closer to the road was bothered by the noise...) Breakfast at the hotel was serviceable at best--plenty of nearby cafes instead.

We arrived early evening for our one night stay. Found the property easy to find off the motorway. Receptionist was most helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and had all we needed. Nice bathroom with a big spa bath. We also had a meal in the hotel restaurant that was most enjoyable - waitress very helpful. Would have appreciated a selection of pillows - could have contacted reception but seeing it was late did not. I found mine very hard and no other options in the room. In general an enjoyable stay and would certainly stay another time.

American Airlines booked us into this hotel after our Auckland to LA flight was brought back mid flight! We didn't get into the hotel room until 9:45 PM after waiting and waiting and waiting in the Auckland airport to get settled for an overnight stay somewhere. Margaret and Murray Wansbone, the owners/managers were minding the office when we dragged in and showed them the airline voucher. They had not interacted with American Airlines vouchers before but accepted it, along with the credit for meals, which were no longer available at their Best Western. The kitchen was closed and the staff were gone. However, Murray and Margaret took care of us, changing our room assignment for a first floor location (we had four suitcases to lug around) and Murray personally made us some grilled cheese sandwiches with fruit, holding us over until morning breakfast in the dining room. Everything was spotless in our room and appointed with coffee and tea, an electric tea pot, a hair dryer and plenty of towels for the abundant amount of hot water coming out of the shower head. Margaret and Murray checked with us the next morning to see how were doing and their lobby staff called us a cab back into Auckland. The Wansbones were caring and friendly and that made a big difference.

Easy to get to from the Motorway. The receptionist met us in the room to show us things and explain about the key in the slot. Lovely big bathroom with big spa bath-room for 2. Rain shower. Plenty Koha Spa Toiletries which were replenished each day.Free wifi. Comfy bed.

This was a great location in terms of the motorway and therefore access to the city and/or down south. Rooms need a really decent makeover, repainting, holes covered, nice showers etc etc but was clean and as tidy as it could be. Rooms didn't have much or any storage and were a tad tight but was okay for a couple nights. Probably wouldn't stay again if not for the fantastic location, which is a draw card.

This is a family-run hotel/motel, and it's nice to be seen as one of them. You are always warmly welcomed, escorted to your room, have lovely hot showers and great towels, and access to a good restaurant and lots of parking. Or you can walk a KM down the road for more options. I can eat here two nights in a row and still enjoy the meals and the choices for meals. There is some traffic noise but they try hard to accommodate the poor sleepers. Happy to recommend you try staying here. And it is so easy to get here from the airport/ access to the city.

Room clean but due for an upgrade, narrow stairs without railings, had to watch my step. Other units are newer but appeared full of tradies. As many older rooms had no kitchen sink I just wonder how they get around health regulations, because the bathroom is not the place to wash dishes..

I stayed at the Ellerslie International for a 3 day training course for work. I arrived at 21:40 and was warmly greeted by the receptionist (I think he was the manager). I was somehow put in a 2-floor suite with 4 separate beds...bit overkill when it's just me, but I shouldn't complain. A few of the room features were explained to me and that was that. The room(s) aren't too bad. They're maybe a little old, but they've been well maintained, unlike other places I've stayed in where it's felt that the management have given up. The rooms are quite comfortable, plenty of pillows and comfortable linen. As it's a bit of a suite there's quite a few amenities such as a dishwasher, sink and cooker. Quite a few packets of coffee and a range of teas to choose from too. My only negative complaint about the room is that the sealing on the windows is a little perished, resulting in a lot of noise coming through the window, even though it's closed shut. I can pretty much hear individual footsteps as though the window were fully open. The bathroom is pretty standard, with the usual hotel shampoos etc. First time I've seen one that included vanity kits and shoe shine polish though! Every day this is being refreshed as I use it, which is awesome. Even though breakfast is included in my room, I've not sampled any (Not a breakfast person). I regret this as dinner is pretty good. I had fish and chips two nights in a row as the first lot was so good. Decent sized portions, well presented. Good flavour and delicious batter. Some of items on the menu could be a little cheaper, there aren't many options to choose from that would fill you up for less than $20. Overall, I'm quite impressed with the Ellerslie international. Ok, it's somewhat more expensive than the last Auckland motel I stayed in, but the difference is palpable!

Clean yes, except for hair in spa bath and greasy substance on inside of one of the glasses. But what really has thrown me is finding the PJs I left on the bed in a corner on the floor after daily service. I asked that they not come back. As well I had first morning breakfast in the cafe but the bacon was just so very greasy and the ‘barista' coffee was like fake soap suds on the top. Nice people I guess but for $195 per night for a motel room it was left wanting for sure. Choose somewhere else really. Cheers Russ

Stayed for the first time at this venue. It was quiet ,clean with good parking and the onsite restaurant was great value for money. Needed a little bit of a spruce up in places but overall it would be a place i would come back to again.

Warmly greated by receptionist, who showed us to our complementary upgraded room. Room was lovely and recently modernised with everything we needed. Great sleep was had by both of us. The reason for 4 stars was. Cleaning could be better, there was someone's food ground into couch and various marks on wall. And although the shower has been tiled and is beautiful there is an old shower head that doesn't work properly.

We stayed the weekend in Auckland for sport and the Best Western was perfect. It has a lovely resturant which was perfect for breakfast in our case. There is choice of contintenial or cooked. We didn't have dinner but it looked good. Nice stay. Rooms are big enough with plenty of towells etc. Sky sport available to watch.Highly recommend staying here.

Spent three nights on business. In what seems newly renovated unit. Nice and comfortable and just what I needed. Have simple kitchen facilities with microwave which was very welcome. Appreciate cleanliness , nice extras in bathrooms, good gym (well maintained and clean) and friendly welcome (showed me personally to room). I did have some missing items which was put right quickly Just one thing that was below standard is the out side stairs up to room - they are urgently need to be made more safe- likely noted for upgrade along with all the other work. Would stay again

1st stay here 2 weeks ago, was fantastic, had a new modern room, meal onsite, and could not fault, 2nd stay - where to start, OLD totally dated room, tv did not work (30 mins to fix) phone broken. Dinner was a nightmare, no disrespect to the wonderful waitress, who also was doing room service, and reception, with NO one to help her. WE arrived at the restaurant early, waited over one hour for our meal. Steak was meant to be med rear, mixed.. some actually raw. Commented to the owner, and she stated she would have it like that!!! NOT the point. My work colleague, got her meal 10 mins before me, her pork belly was tiny... and her veges were cold.

Okay so I am currently staying at the Best Western Motel International in Ellerslie. First impression prior to arrival: young Indian gentleman phoned me to let me know my room had been booked by a family member. My only feedback to this person - telephone manner. You need to work on your telephone manner love. You are very terrible when it comes to talking over the phone and you had actually hung up on me when I had phoned through to enquire about car parking. First impression on arrival: Grounds clean, tidy, well presented. Young Indian gent, I actually spoke to on the phone, great to deal with in person. Checked in and was shown our room etc. He was lovely to deal with face to face (again still bugging over the telephone manner). The room itself: beautiful, well set out, spacious, clean, tidy, love it. Only feedback on room - your curtains are see through but otherwise we love the room. It's so nice and doesn't feel cheap. The food and service:so this is where Georgia comes in. We started off by dining in at the onsite restaurant, during which time a lovely young lady by the name of Georgia was serving us. She may be young but she is 100% awesome. So far, aside from the wonderful set out room, she and her wonderful manner/service/real people skills have been the highlight of our stay. She is honestly such an awesome chicky to deal with. I love the honesty and the see My human interaction I got from her. I hate staying at places and the people act a way in which they feel the person wishes to be. I'm 100% NZer and prefer the honest interaction from someone as opposed to the fake person they're trying to please. So my suggestion,should you choose to stay at this lovely establishment, ask for Georgia. :-) Also the food was delicious. So yummy and well worth the price. The owners: although I haven't really had a chance to interact with the owners as much as I'd like to, so far they've come across as approachable, friendly and lovely people. Twice I've interacted with them and on both occasions they were friendly and approachable. They don't make you feel awkward and I would say, run a well organized establishment. All up: ask for Georgia, young Indian gent terrible on the phone but great in person, owners friendly and approachable, room well worth your money. I will be back. 100%. Thank you.

This was a last minute change to my original booking in the city to Ellerslie. I was only there for a night and it was better than expected. Spacious apartment style rooms that were clean. Service was high, on arrival I was walked to my room. Ellerslie village is a 5 minuet walk away and close to the airport.

Had a bit of a laugh with the two girls on reception that greeted us around 9pm - they must have been waiting for us as we were the last to check in. Walked us over to our apartments which were surprisingly nice - very clean, tea & coffee making facilities plus all the mod cons. My room even had a huge spa bath in the bathroom as well as a shower, pretty cool! Only gripe was although the wifi was free it was rather slow. Other than that it's been a lovely two night stay and I wouldn't hesitate to book in here again.

Hotel was very clean, close to niece's home, nice people good service. My in-laws had reserved three rooms but it was sold out when I tried to reserve. They loved it and would stay there again. It looked newer from the outside.

The staff and Management of the Best Western are very welcoming and friendly. Our apartment size room was clean, fresh and comfortable for our one night stay. It's well worth a visit for your trip to Auckland.

I was visiting a friend in Glen Innes and needed a place close by to stay in. The Best Western had an deal on through booking.com for a studio room which suited my travel dates. The location was easy to get to from Auckland domestic airport. The check in guy was friendly and actually showed me to the room and all the facilities. It's been some years since that kind of serve. The room itself was quiet, big and clean. The room had air con which was great in the muggy Auckland evening. I had to check out early so I was able to pay for my room the night before without any problem. Reception over the weekend opens at 7:30am so for any earlier starters, please keep that in mind. They do have a restaurant on site but I was out that night and out early the next morning. The menu did look nice, especially the cheesecake dessert! No real complaints as it was a good place for a night's stay.

Just another big motel badly in need of some TLC. If you're on business or need to communicate, I'd suggest you bring a carrier pigeon. The room's WiFi cards completely useless, and told by the staff not to follow the printed instructions. Room even had a LAN cable which I haven't see for 20 years. Does the management think people travel with PCs? WiFi connection page looks like it was designed by someone's 16 year old geek nephew and the speed so slow, pages just simply wouldn't load. The Ellerslie shopping centre is close by (within walking distance) along with a number of fair-bad restaurants.

While visiting Auckland it was an extremely hot day so on the spur of the moment we decided to stay and look for a Motel before our return home to Rotorua. However we had our 1year old grandson & our room was on the 2nd floor. The room was great for our needs & the room service was excellent. Had trouble with TV but the Manager was so accommodating & got it sorted! Parking was difficult as it was a fair distance from our room but overall was excellent stay! Thank you. would recommend.

I was given a huge 2 bedroom apartment for my one night stay. It was lovely and would be perfect for a family on a driving holiday. It is not a great location as far from downtown but a good base for those with a car. Accommodations were great, restaurant okay and staff could use some how to be friendly training.

Stopped here for one night en route to Rotorua and I wish we had been here for longer. On check in we were given an upgrade. We are a couple travelling with our grown up daughter and had asked for separate sleeping accommodation. What we got was an amazing suite that I could happily have moved into! All was modern, clean and very well equipped. Would highly recommend.

This place is due an overhaul it is outdated. Bathrooms down stairs have been done up. Was here on a course very confusing on how to get to the course room. Food was average a range of food for lunch but no room to sit. Rotating courses for lunch woulda been better option. Didn't get to see rest of facilities.

This motor lodge ticks lots of boxes. Excellent faciliities. Exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms. Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Plenty of guest and visitor parking. Good menu selection at the restaurant with delicious vegetarian option for adults and also a children's menu.

Recently, we had the opportunity to Book the Best Western International in Ellerslie, in order to attend a Show in Auckland. We found the Staff to be Very Friendly and Helpful, (with no Language Barrier, as can be found in other places) - Great. Everything was Very Clean and Well Arranged. We Used the In-house Restaurant for Dinner that night, and then for Breakfast in the morning. The Food was simply First Class, and Not Expensive. The Overall Charge was a surprise in that it was cheaper than what we had imagined because of the Great Service. Good WiFi in the rooms -- worked well. Well Done, Best Western Ellerslie!

Stayed here for work, from the moment I walked in super friendly and nothing was an issue, room was spacious and well presented, I had a meal in the restaurant outstanding and even has dessert delivered to my room later, overall fantastic stay, thank you Moana, Kelly & Gorga, highly recommend ??

Amazing service, staff willing to go above and beyond. Rooms clean, comfortable, afford and well equiped. Good food, not quite as a high standard as the rest of the establishment however certainly not a deterrent and we will definitely be returning.

Stayed at Best Western after a conference at Waipuna Lodge, for non Aucklanders it was easy to find with even easier access to the Southern Motorway the next morning. Room was spacious, twin share excellent with plenty of living area and the the restaurant offered a great menu, with excellent meals.

I recently spent a night in Auckland and I must confess to being somewhat prejudiced as I really do not like going to Auckland. I chose the BW Ellerslie for its' location to where I needed to be for my meeting and everything turned out so incredibly well. I hope to be able to stay there any time I need to go to Auckland. They have a heated pool, excellent restaurant, room service that delivers on time and the hot food is still really hot. Having a choice between heat pump and windows was really great. Auckland hotels are usually staffed by foreigners, which I find disappointing but this hotel has people who were local and Islanders - really awesome. Definitely recommend this to anyone.

Booking.com money grab. Book now pay later drawn down without permission. Poor treatment on phone. Treated like an idiot. Spoken to like a child. Poor reception. Chemicals and cleaning equipment left in small old poorly maintained room. Very expensive. Stay elsewhere.

really liked this property the owners had gone the extra mile to make the rooms really appealing and of a high standard beautifully decorated and with a good touch of Metro chique. Highly recommend this place as a very comfortable well appointed and considerate place place to stay. The staff are cool too. They have a good sense of humour and love their job. I just loved staying here for the week on a business trip.

We stayed here with our baby for 7 nights. I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely the room was. It was very clean and had very nice toiletries closing facial and body cleaner. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel and an on site laundry if you need to do washing. Each day when I left for the morning I would come back and the room was made up. It was so refreshing. We have stayed at a number of places in Auckland and have found this by far the best. We are definitely coming back.

I travel to NZ for business and have been so impressed by this motel. Perfect location, great new rooms with all modern appliances, free wifi, free parking and a restaurant that serves a full menu that delivers, can't go past the lamb shanks! After many disappointing hotels in the city, I have been very impressed and enjoy staying here, it makes business travel relaxing. A motel focussed on business travellers with a personal touch and great service. I will definitely be back, thanks for your hospitality!

The room was clean and comfortable. Even though the restaurant was almost deserted,the meals for 4 of us came our really slowly with the last meal arriving almost an hour after the first. Had I not been so hungry I would have returned my meal as the steak was overdone one end and raw at the other. The veges were cold and we got shoestring fries when it said mash on the menu. The jus tasted very much like biso packet gravy, and we had to ask for this as it did not come with the meal initially. The staff were friendly and apologetic and offered us a free drink which was nice, however the service for breakfast the next day was equally slow and one of us had to leave for our meeting before she even got her cooked breakfast. The location however was excellent and staff were very friendly.

Booked this kind of last minute after a terrible experience in the city. Walked in to a wonderful receptionist. The room was so nice and clean and beds very comfortable. Such great value for money. Great location and service.

I regularly travel about the place, with odd reasons, but normally I hit the central city as what I do normally dictates that I need mobility. Looking at rates for places in the city though and adding on $40 parking charges per night led me to look a little further out, and thankfully I did! Online booking was difficult as there was an issue with accepting the type of validation, but that was sorted out with a phone call and dealt with very efficiently. Arriving on the day, I was greeted with a wonderful smile and prompt service - the only delay was caused by myself for turning up early, but they were very accommodating. The room was clean and very spacious, with every amenity catering for my needs. Free Wi-Fi was extremely useful. The front office staff were both very friendly and helpful, with any request met with a smile and pleasant conversation. Check-out was smooth and had me on my way without delay, with the only downside having booked my stay so short! Thank you and I will be returning soon.

My first impression when I arrived at the place was like it's an office or open mall converted into a hotel. All the rooms have a glass sliding doors with glass wall. If you open the curtains people can see you in your rooms. That said., ask for rooms on the 2nd floor if this will bother you. Otherwise your view is parking lot. Second. There is nowhere to go walking distance. Nothing to see around the area as it's located near a highway and what seems like residential area. You need a car. Consequently they have car rental. Renting is easy. Average $750 a day (insurance included) for a Toyota Corolla. Glad that the room we got is nice. Looks well kept and newly renovated. Quite comfortable and pleasant. No complaints there. Check it out is at 10am. Apparently this is how it is in New Zealand, I was told the lady at the front desk. Not being sarcastic here. She said that really how it is here and I believe her. Unfortunately she said they are 'getting' full. It just sucks if your flight is at 6pm and there's nowhere to go around the area without a car. "You're welcome to stay and wait at our lounge," she said. This is not a complaint. I like the place but it's just not that great for me. Just sharing my experience. If you want a hotel/motel that is walking distance from dining and shopping - this place is not it.

Highly recommend staying here, Auckland has a real shortage on hotel rooms so I could only pre-book one night, when checking in I explained my plans for the week, I was looked after with very friendly, personal and excellent professional service. The rooms (I stayed in x2 on my visit, after an overnight trip to Napier) were perfect and the amenities were second to none, most hotel rooms I have stayed in there is a shortage of accessible power sockets, in both rooms I stayed in not only were there an abundance of easily accessible power sockets but there were also fast charge USB sockets available as well as bluetooth connectivity, there was a kitchenette and a Lazy Boy reclining chair! Some highend 5 star hotel owners need to spend a night or two in the BW Ellerslie to learn a thing or two about what makes for a well thought out excellent guest experience, right from when you check in with the efficient, helpful and friendly reception staff making you feel like you are the most important person there, to the room service staff who went out of their way to check with me and fit around my plans when spending one of the days mostly catching up with work in my room, you can tell by the smiles from everyone the management of this hotel care about their staff and it shows, to the aforementioned amenities which made my stay all the more pleasant. If you need a place to stay in this area you do not need to look elsewhere.

We chose this hotel because of its location to where we were attending a concert. It had been a busy few days for them so our room wasn't ready upon arrival but the staff made us very welcome in their house bar and were so friendly. Shuttle service provided for a small charge to the concert which was great. Rooms although a bit tired were comfortable and clean.

I attended a theatre show and chose this hotel because of location, and that it has a swimming pool. Parking is available and there are plenty of spaces. I liked this place. It was comfortable and quiet. The bed was really comfortable. The room and bathroom were nicely decorated and it looked and felt clean. There is a hill, and the room that I had was on the second floor. But the way the parking is set up, you can park and reach your room with no stairs, so if you aren't good with stairs, this is a bonus. The weather was a bit cool for a swim so no review on that. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very clean, met expectations. Can be noisy but we are in a large busy city. Restaurant is on site, I didn't require this service. Bed and linen were comfortable. Free wifi Uba from airport was $36.00 and 20 minutes

2 bedrooms upstairs, you had to walk thru the master to get to the second bedroom and the bathroom was downstairs, difficult if you needed to go in the night as the curtains are blackout (which is great) but can be tricking navigating. single bed in lounge, so if you were in the upstairs small bedroom you had to walk past the master bed and person in lounge to get to the loo. That is the only negative, windows must be double glazing because it was nice and quiet. Good amenities and extremely CLEAN! Handy supplying a shuttle services to a concert was a definite plus :)

Rooms are a good size, clean and well maintained. It is a short walk to the Ellerslie shopping area where there is a good selection of restaurants and bars. This hotel is a way out of Auckland central but public transport is close at hand to take you into the city however having a car would be an advantage.

Reasonable price for Auckland good facilities excellent staff, location easy access to and from motorway and central CBD. Good restaurant and great staff. Bit noisy fro traffic on road but not too bad if in rooms at rear of hotel. Excellent conference facilities.

The building was a bit old but very clean, spacious, nice confy 2 seater lounge and recliner chair. Huge spa bath in the ensuite. We were on the 2nd floor, no lift, thin walls. No fly screens on any windows - but also no issue with mozzies or flies. Nice little area for tea/coffee making. Local paper delivered each morning which was great. Good location - large shopping area only 1km up the road - 10 mins walk or couple of minutes drive with plenty of choices for eating in or take away plus grocery shops, banks etc.

While you can tell right away that you are not in a luxury resort, this Best Western offers good value when you just need a clean bed and bathroom. Actually the bathroom was rather flash with a spa bath and first class toiletries. The rest of the room was large but in need of renovation as the furnishings and paint looked rather tired. The staff was great, free wi-fi ok for e-mail and light surfing, lots of TV channels and free parking (a rarity in Auckland these days). The price was a full $100/night less than near by properties so it was certainly acceptable.

My stay was on a Monday and Tuesday and it was busy but you wouldn't have noticed that because All the staff were fantastic from check in through to room service. Nice location and enjoyed my two night stay. Food was good and very prompt room service. Comfortable bed and my husband enjoyed the gym. His comment is that the staff were very helpful, including his time when he did a load of washing. Reasonable price venue and food. Thanks.

Very Pleasurable Stay nice clean rooms staff really friendly and helpful, mine was a business visit for 2 nights used the conference rooms which were very adequate also the meals are fine and fill you up.

I think this was my fifth or sixth time staying here for work. I prefer staying in the rooms closest to reception as i find them super quiet. All the staff are a pleasure to interact with and really do go out of there way to give you a great stay. Wiifii is excellent....i was able to easily connect laptop and two phones. The shower is roomey with great pressure. I highly recommend the restaurant. The food is generous and delicious.

We came to Auckland from Matarangi to meet with my son Daughter inlaw & grandson,they live in Melbourne & came over for a friends wedding. We all stayed in a family unit(5),it was ok but the setup was weird,there is only 1 downstairs bathroom & 2 bedrooms upstairs,you had to go through the main bedroom to get to the smaller one which had 2 single beds.Apart from having to negotiate the stairs in the middle of the night it was all good,stayed 3 nights.

I had two nights here. My welcome was awesome! My room was spacious, bed was comfortable, shower and towels were good, had a heater and good lighting for work. They have a microwave and some kitchen gear , but also a good restaurant with modestly priced meals. And they attend promptly to maintenance, not something all hotels/motels do. It was pretty quiet- I didn't notice when the car outside my window moved.

A fantastic service with total value for money. Would strongly recommend this for anyone looking for accommodation on a business trip to Auckland. Nothing is a problem for the friendly and efficient staff here. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of customer service. Will definitely come back here for my next trip to Auckland.

We had two nights in a standard suite in the old part of the complex and came away quite disappointed. Our unit's best days were well behind it and there was barely enough room to swing a cat. It was also extremely noisy thanks to other guests passing by our door on the way to and from the carpark at all hours, the plumbing and lots else from the room next door being clearly audible through the night and having a major intersection at the end of the driveway. While free, the internet access was far more miss than hit and never once worked over the last 18 hours of our stay. We felt we didn't receive value for our money and will be looking elsewhere the next time we need accommodation in Auckland.

The new rooms are lovely to stay in. The spa bath is a large corner one and has nice toiletries. Very comfortable bed. Nice little coffee plunger. Easy to walk to Ellerslie shops. Unfortunately the restaurant lets it down. Dinner is often average and breakfast is below average with a very long wait and not worth it.

We would stay again. Staff were awesome and very helpful and cause my daughter was in a aerobics competition at 2pm we could have a early check in and get ready before we headed there. We stayed in the 1 bedroom and it was perfect for us, we had no problems at all, very clean and tidy and a good size. We both slept well.

The first time we stayed here the noise from a wedding party was a problem. This time Sunday night was spoiled by the air conditioner next door. Still running flat out at 2am. The rooms though are comfortable and the team friendly. If the location suits stay here. It suits us do we will be back again. We might be picky about our room though.

We have stayed here twice now, a fantastic place, easy to find, great location. We stayed here for 2 nights while we attended a wedding & also another time before we went overseas. The rooms we had where big, clean & fresh. The second time we had a room with the best shower ever!!!

This is a reasonable good Motel to stay if want to visit the area for any specific reason like I did for business. It is my second time I've stayed here. It is a nice clean Motel with reasonably good facilities. The Wi Fi was free but the quality of the reception of the Wi Fi was poor. Also, the Wi Fi seems to cause my emails from at least 2 weeks before to come through multiple times, which meant that I would receive over 4000 emails a day for 6 days. It is the only Hotel/Motel that affected my emails in this manner. However, this Motel is also close to some nice cafes and restaurants, so all in all, a nice place to stay.

We stayed for 2 nights, in family suite which had 4 comfortable beds, 1 queen & 3 singles. The room had recently been partly refurbished & had new carpet & new bathroom fixtures apart from a older cream shower unit. The kitchenette was clean & tidy with a small dishwasher & the unit was clean & tidy. The staff helpful & friendly. Good central location in Auckland. The first night we had some noisy family neighbours who kept us awake until early hours, but had a good nights sleep the 2nd night. We would stay again.

The staff at this hotel were amazing, we had 2 rooms booked and they perfect for our stay. A short walk up to the shops where there are a heap of restaurants, bars and bakeries ect, we stayed at this hotel because of its location it was close to Mt Smart stadium. The staff were always happy to help when we needed taxis or buses and if we travel to Auckland again we will definitely be staying here

From check in to check out, I was highly impressed by the friendly staff as well as the room I was in ; spacious, clean and well kept. I was pleasantly surprised that it was quiet at night which made for a good night sleep. Slightly out of the way, a distance from Auckland CBD but still manageable. My work uses these guys for when I'm in Auckland - nice and handy. Always pleased. Friendly staff, nice clean facilities and a restaurant with tasty simple food. Bonus this time I was upgraded to a premium studio free of charge... one word - wow!

I have been to this Motor Inn on 5 occasions ranging from a day to 4 days, I found it to be very clean at all times as well as well equipped with all the items required. The new rooms are fantastic including large bathrooms with corner spas. Meals I feel are well presented and tasty, they are more than happy to deliver to your room if requested. If you are in the area I recommend a stay here.

I recall we paid we paid about $177 for this accommodation. To begin with, it seemed quite nice; 'sitting area' with all mod cons, plus 'kitchen area', bathroom, and seperate bedroom the latter without windows or ventilation. The only natural ventilation arose from opening the 'sitting area' door onto the public landing, so the Aircon (also in the main sitting area) was essential. The Aircon did not work however, so we reported it to Reception, who sent someone to adjust it on three seperate occasions, and left us an additional fan each time. After 23.00 hours we complained again to Reception, who we understand sent the owner, Mr Murray Wansbone. I explained that I have Myeloma, a life limiting cancer, and that the excessive room temperature was making me feel extremely unwell. We were told that there were no other rooms available, but after much complaint, we were offered a suite at around 00.00 hours, and moved there for the night. In the morning, I complained to Mrs Margaret Wansbone at Reception, who eventually agreed to a partial refund, until overruled by her husband. We were told it was all our fault! Our treatment here was appalling, and we'd have had a more comfortable night sleeping in the car! Avoid at all cost! Note that later during our holiday, we tried to book TWO nights at Wellington's Best Western, only to be told that they would charge us for a minimum FOUR nights, despite only having a room available for three! Madness! Needless to say, we declined, and both experiences mean we'll never stay at Best Western ever again, anywhere.

Lady at reception was friendly and checked us in quickly. 3 adults stayed in Room 27. It was located on the ground floor and had no view. It was clean and a decent size. Had a toaster, fridge, cups/saucers, mugs, glasses, crockery and cutlery. No dining table. Our first visit to Auckland. Hotel is located far from downtown (CBD) so we had to take either the train or bus which cost NZD 4.50 for a single adult journey which was about 30 minutes long. We found this very expensive.

My son, 11 mth old and I stayed in the older wing one bedroom apartment (Apt 17). The carpet and couch were filthy and the bottom of the shower looked as though it needed a good scrub. One of the locks on the front window were broken so you couldn't close the window properly. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, but the first nights stay was so uncomfortable that we only ended up staying one night. The staff however were brilliant! If you were looking at staying here my advice would be, when booking ask for one of the newer rooms as per the picture

I recently stayed here for two nights on business. My room was superb. Very clean and well appointed. The staff were great. I had breakfast in the restaurant which was ok, but not cafe style. At night for dinner, we strolled 5 mins up the road to the local restaurants... Great selection of food... Mexican, Indian, kebabs etc. Easy access to motorway. I would recommend this hotel .

We were booked here for five nights but stayed only one. Our room was in what seemed to be the old wing. It had a sliding glass door like an old motel. The bathroom was in need of refurbishment, the lino didn't meet the walls and there was mould in places around the shower module. The bar and dinning room are very utilitarian. The staff were friendly and helpful. I suspect that the rooms in the newer wing would be fine and had we been there our experience may have been different. The price is reasonable.

My wife and I stayed 5 nights in a 1 bedroom unit and my son and his wife stayed 1 night in a studio unit in the 1st week of January.We arrived at 2.00 in the morning from Australia.In the bedroom they have a skylight that was left open the 1st night.We closed it after waking very early in the morning having got very little sleep.The maintenance in the 1 bedroom unit was poor.The studio unit was in better condition but lots nosier. In our 1 bedroom unit the telephone could not make calls.The bathroom tap was so stiff to turn off and on that my wife struggled to turn it off.One of the window catches on the low level windows did not work so the window was never properly shut.There was mold on the curtains. On the last afternoon before our last night it rained.There was a hole in the ceiling that I noticed when we arrived.That afternoon the cleaners put the rubbish bin from the bathroom under the leak and it was almost full to the top by morning.It was placed in such a position that you struggled to walk around the end of the bed.I would have thought they would have changed rooms for us because of this leak.All of the maintenance issues I believe they knew about and did nothing about.I did notice on the reviews I read before I booked the unit everyone said the units were clean.This is true.The cleaners do a good job. I regularly visit Auckland but will not be returning to Best Western Ellerslie.

I visit Auckland each Easter and always stay at this Hotel, Murray and his wife Margret are most congenial hosts. This hotel,while located on the south side of Auckland , is only 200 meters from the motorway, making it easy to get to all parts of Auckland. Good dinning room, reasonably priced, good comfortable rooms.

What a fabulous hideaway - the staff were amazing, as was the room [ well it was sort of a flat really! ] Gym and pool too........ Nothing was too much trouble from front dest to the girls in the laundry room. Just what you want when youre travelling around and need to catch up. They lent us towels for the beach even - difficult to pack in suitcases when you're travelling with a family. Best place I've stayed in ever tbh

Booked in here, because our normal motel has closed down. This place is as good. if not better in lots of ways. Made to feel very welcome. Clean and fresh room. Loved that the place had a restaurant onsite. Had breakfast next day. Waitress needs to read menu and remember breakfast comes with toast, but apart from that we will be back.

Conveniently located this is a favourite location. Arrived to a well appointed room. Comfortable beds. Clean. Quiet. Breakfast delivery in adjoining restaurant was a bit slow. Error rather than service, but gracious waitress put it right. Highly recommended.

I booked an Executive Room, but was upgraded to the Premium Suite free of charge. The room was very comfortable complete with microwave oven and a mini bar in the fridge. The bed linen was changed daily and room amenities were of very high standard. Although the website said internet access would be at $20 a day, it was actually complementary. My only little gripe was that the management required the guests to personally go to the reception for the username and password, and would not give them over the phone - a bit of pain when you are already in pajamas and the weather out there is wet. The room is adequately sound proof. There is a glass wall separating the bathroom and the bedroom with no blind or curtain making the room suitable only for intimate couple or single occupant. The location is great and convenient next to the Ellerslie motorway interchange. Overall a very good accommodation I can recommend.

Standard motel room - clean with basic amenities such as microwave, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery. I had a problem to get the tv going, but the receptionist came quickly to sort it out and teach me how to use the system. A built-in CD player on the wall (but who travels with a collection of CDs these days?). I had one meal in the restaurant which was served promptly and was tasty and well cooked. Friendly service in the dining room. Bus and train to Newmarket and the CBD are nearby. The only downsides - no lift to second floor rooms, and outside access to rooms means you have to walk in the rain to the restaurant.

Although this place is quite large and has a confirenece centre I keep going back as the rooms are quiet and well maintained plus the restuarant serves great food! I would especially recomend the Scotch fillet as it just melts in your mouth. The front desk staff (Brenna & Soraya) are great with nothing being too much of a problem. And Kim in the restuarant provides great service. All in all I would recommend this establichmnet if you dont need to be in the heart of Auckland as its also close to the Motorway so touring is easy.

Love this place. I have stayed here for work a couple of times each year (for 5+ years), The owners and staff are lovely, the price is reasonable and the rooms are fantastic. Restaurant is reasonable.

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting family. Easy to find, just off the motorway. Good free parking. We asked for a quiet room and could hardly hear any noise. Friendly check in and helpful service. A big studio room with King bed. Very clean and a strong shower. $3 laundry machine and dryer which we used.
