    « Great time! »

The staff were wonderful, building was nice, breakfast was delicious and we loved the salt water pool! We had a pool side room and my kids were on cloud nine. The pool area was clean and warm...the dome is neat and they provide towels. The hot tub was also very nice.

« Best Western always our 1st choice »

Always treated great! Salt water pool in Appleton super! Breakfast at this hotel as well as the Best Western in Minneapolis, MN is always fantastic. Travel quite a bit with our 8 year old Grandson who loves to Swim. Hours of pools are great as they are open later in the event busy visiting or shopping, and also allow for a quick swim prior to check out. Considering a Breakfast out for 4 could easily exceed $60 with tip, juices, milk etc., Best Westerns are an extreme value.

    « Practical location »

We have stayed here annually for the last 5 years. Unfortunately, there have been many changes. We don't mind that the breakfast is no longer in the restaurant with a much smaller selection. It is more convenient to get to from the rooms. The defunct Indian restaurant which is adjacent to the hotel still has its sign up. The ping pong and pool table in the pool area were gone as were all of the tables and chairs due to renovation and construction. The salt water pool area, pool table and especially the ping pong table are the main reasons we have stayed there. Our king room off of the pool area was okay but there is noise from the pool area. The tall mirror in the room is half covered by the drapes. The refrigerator has ample space & the microwave was nice.

« On a budget with kids, stay here! »

I stayed here with my husband and we got a great deal on the room. It's a bit tired but not dirty and it's being updated. The breakfast room was large and the hot buffet was included in the price. There is a Perkins a few blocks down the street that has 1/2 price appetizers if your hungry late at night. The pool is the center piece of the hotel and it's a salt water pool. Many rooms surround the pool and we had one of thoes rooms, get one if you stay here. It isn't your ordinary hotel pool. It's quite large and it's indoor. The deep end is 8 foot deep, and I believe it was open untill !0:30p. This is a winter water park on the cheep for you and the kids. The down side, it was noisey. Our room was attached to another room and we could hear the converstion next door.

    « I wouldn't recommend... »

We had to double check we had the right place as we didn't believe pulling up it could be. Dark parking lot, a few cars. Went in and more of the same. Dark and desolate feel. We checked in, the whole time thinking- maybe it gets better? Things are pretty banged up. Our room and it seems most rooms, surround the pool area. So it was warm and smelt of chlorine right up to your room door. There are big windows from room to pool area. I am sure there are blinds... but no thanks. Maybe good for parents with young kids who want to keep an eye on the area?? The door was very scuffed and if the door didn't shut well enough you can open the door without key pad. The room was small and very dim and dreary. We didn't feel comfortable staying here so we immediately went back to the desk and told them so. The guy said no problem. He cancelled our stay and said since he is new he needed to call his manager to issue a refund since we had already scanned our card! Apparently his manager told him to get our name and number and he would call us the next day to take care of it. That would have been Saturday. No call. Today is Sunday, no call. I WILL be calling tomorrow to get my refund! We drove down the road and stayed at the Hampton on Fox River Dr. So much nicer, very friendly and LESS money.

« Very Old, Badly in need of an Upgrade, but Ok. »

This hotel is very old. Decor in the dome/pool area is clearly circa 1976. They have a salt water pool and a very small hot tub/whirlpool and poolside rooms are available; unfortunately the poolside rooms ONLY offer two "queen" beds, however, these seem to be smaller queen size beds than standard. They are definitely not as wide as any queen size beds I've ever seen. The rooms have a definite "old hotel" smell -- sort of like the smell you get at a used clothing consignment shop (Goodwill)... room seems clean; older furnishings. They offer a breakfast in the morning, but we were not able to try it because it ended too early. Biggest disappointment here was that the pool closes at 10:30 at night, so if you get in late and want to swim or use the hot tub, you're pretty much out of luck. We got a poolside room to enjoy the pool but came in late and it was so close to closing time, we didn't get to use it. All in all, at $110 a night, it was a little pricey for what we got.

    « Better than expected »

The exterior needs a face lift but the lobby and rooms are updated, modern, and clean. Breakfast could be better to match competitors. Overall the stay was very good for the price and would stay again.

    « What a great hotel! »

The front desk people were great! The room was excellent, and the breakfast food and service was the best! I can't say enough as we have stayed in some "rat holes" on this trip. The Best Western hotel in Appleton, WI was a breath of fresh air!! Jack & Oleta

    « Satisfied customer »

The only negative really are the hallways that had a musty smell and the carpeting seemed old. The rooms were large, the bed comfortable and the bathroom up to date. Big parking lot, multiple entrances and okay complimentary breakfast. Nice indoor pool area, although we did not try it. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

« The Staff Makes the Hotel »

I was scheduled for two days of meetings in the Appleton area. My plan was to arrive the night before, stay for two nights, and return home after the 2nd day of meetings. However, on the morning I planned to leave, I realized I had screwed up my calendar and that my meetings started that day! As I rushed to get out the door, I called the hotel to change my reservation to just one night. That's when I realized that I had been correct when I made the reservations, and I had actually "no-showed" the night before. I thought that would be a very expensive mistake. However, when I called the hotel, Patrick was unbelievably kind and helpful. He said that he would keep me checked in, my key would be waiting at the front desk, and they would only charge me for the one night. What a relief! When I arrived after a long and stressful, my key was waiting and I went right to my room. I had a Jacuzzi suite, and it was quite spacious. There was a bar area that separated the sleeping/living area from the Jacuzzi area so that the Jacuzzi could not be seen from the main part of the room. The bar had a medium sized refrigerator that was already cold and a microwave. The first thing I wanted to do was settle into that Jacuzzi. It filled quickly and had no issues with water pressure, tempurature or the jets. It was incredibly relaxing and comfortable with one major exception - it had a 15 minute timer that was not easily reachable from inside the Jacuzzi. When it shut off, I had to stand up in the tub and stretch to reach the dial on a wall around the corner. I had visions of people slipping and falling in the tub trying to do exactly that. Here are my other pros/cons/observations: Good/Neutral - The bed was not especially soft, but was better than some. I slept very well. - The wifi was easy to connect to, and worked very well. - The room was clean and tastefully decorated. - The shower was nice with good water flow and a built in seat. Room for improvement - with recommendations - The air conditioner/heating unit was around the corner in the Jacuzzi/Bar area. Therefore, it never really effectively cooled the room. It was also loud enough to wake me more than once. - There is no vanity in the bathroom; just a stand alone sink. This can be a challenge for those of us who wear makeup and do our hair. It would be much easier if they would put a mirror at the desk in the room. - They don't give out the shampoo/conditioner/lotion amenities. Instead they have the industrial wall units in the bathroom that say "hair" and "body." - The reviews had me expecting a hot breakfast with plenty of choices. It was really more of the usual continental breakfast with bagels, toast, yogurt and cereal. There was one warm dish that had sausage patties and what the sign said were "egg patties." I was NOT brave enough to try them. Despite the areas of opportunity, I was very happy with my overall stay. This was in large part to the helpful, friendly staff. Also, the room was clean and updated, the wifi worked well, and I was able to soak in a Jacuzzi. I really don't need any more than that.

« OK place to stop »

This was my first time at this location, I have stay at other hotel that is close and was much happier with the accommodations. If you need a one night stay and all other places are full check it out. The pool area is one of the shinning points.

    2
« Not up to standard »

Employees and entire staff were very nice. Outside appearance and lobby were very nice. Salt water pool was dirty and room had an odor although it appeared to be clean. This is an older facility that could use some attention.

    3
« Comfortable but needs updating »

Comfortable enough but the whole place in need of updating. Also I booked room in January just to have them call me in August saying they were overbooked and they would have to move us to Milwaukee, 2 hours away. I fought it and it worked out but wasn't impressed

    5
« Very quiet hotel with excellent breakfast options! »

Refreshing salt water pool and hot tub that were wonderful after a long day, peaceful and restful nights sleep, and then a plethora of options for breakfast the next day (really appreciated toppings for either oatmeal or yogurt! yum!).

    « Review »

Best Western is a good buy for the money. The title of this hotel is not accurate. it is a very good motel. Seems like you folks should have a more swankier name to rival Hyatt. The bathrooms are amazingly up to date. The pool looks really clean.

« This was our first time here »

This place was so great, starting with Dave the desk clerk. He was so polite and very knowledgeable about the Appleton Area. Places to eat along with things to do. Hotel was very clean, room was a dream. Very clean, very friendly staff, and the breakfast was good both days. We so enjoyed our stay here that next time we visit the Appleton area this is definitely going to be where we stay. Dave made our stay very enjoyable, and we hope to see him again at this hotel soon. Great little get away for us.

    « A comfortable place for a break from a long drive »

I spent the night here during a drive from Minneapolis to Door County, Wisconsin. It's easily accessible from the freeway, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The free wireless Internet works great. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel serves a free hot breakfast, and there are a variety of restaurants nearby - even within walking distance. The rates are reasonable.

    3
    « Wonderful pool area »

This Best Western is in a very good location of shopping and eating. The pool area with the salt water pool was extremely nice. They also have a hot tub. The entire area was very clean. The major complaint I have was the bed. Very, very uncomfortable. You felt like you were actually sleeping on the box spring and not the mattress. The room itself was very nice. It was updated with new carpet and a nice bedspread. The bathroom had many chipped tiles and needs some updating although it was clean. The breakfast was very good, had many choices. The people who worked there weren't overly friendly at first but since we stayed a week, they seemed to loosen up. The outside of the hotel looks very old but they really are trying to make it nicer. I had to rate it a"3" because of the bed, but otherwise, it was an ok place to stay.

    4
    « Great pool / gathering area »

The rooms are pretty standard, the bathrooms on the small side, but if you want a nice public gathering area and pool for a reasonable price, this is a great place. They even have some toddler play items to keep the very little ones entertained (noted because not many hotels have this).

    5
    « Best western appleton »

Great staff and great facility, Ashley at the front desk was expecially helpful with helping us get a room. Has a nice pool area with a hot tub, rooms are nice for the price. Friendly and homey environment.

    « Great family Hotel »

We stayed for 5 nights. Our toddler loved the pool and toddler play area. We didn't find the staff overly friendly but when we met Niki the owner we were very impressed with her kindness. The hotel is a bit older but with a great breakfast and the great resort style pool we enjoyed our stay. The wifi was decent and accessible in our room which was a big bonus too. The only drawback was the housekeeping services that really did the bare minimum during our stay.

    5
    « Great Family Hotel »

First we were greeted by Patrick who could not have been friendler. Then our room was situated steps away from the pool entrance and dining area. I have a great bed at home so I usually hate sleeping in hotels but these were very comfortable. The pool area is just as pictured except there are two pool tables and no ping pong. The water was chillier than I can tolerate for long but the kids didn't seem to notice. A long soak in the hot tub cured me. There's a Perkins two businesses away that you can easily walk to if you don't want to get in the car. Other than that this part of town is not the prettiest but there are a lot of stores, restaurants and things to do within a very small radius. The breakfast has the typical selections of breads, juices, coffee, fruit, cereal and waffle station with another hot entre area that changes daily. The attendant is very watchful and keeps the place extremely neat. This is the cleanest hotel I have ever been in and I've been to a lot of hotels. We come to Appleton every year and this is our first stay at the Best Western but it won't be our last!

« Osh Kosh air show- great option near by- attentive staff, salt pool for end of day, access to god restaurants »

Great experience, cozy rooms, nice alternative in Appleton, breakfast available, fedex nearby and shopping - reasonable rates, families, quiet, easy access off I-41. Water nearby, business services available- great location for long day trips, Appleton airport.

« Good Hotel for the price »

We arrived for a family function staying 2 days at the Best Western. The room was nice and clean, the beds were very nice. They were in the process of some major outside renovations, so the looks of the hotel should improve a great deal. The grand kids enjoyed the indoor pool and the video games available. I would definitely stay here again. It's close to everything in town. That was a big plus.

    4
« Close to everything, nice stay all around. »

Stayed for 3 days for a local event. Property is aged but clean. The free breakfast was above average. The crown jewel here is the salt water pool. I've never swam in a salt water pool, but wow!? I've seen my kids skin turn red and had my eyes burn from over chlorinated hotel pools. I have no idea why every hotel does not have a salt water pool?! Based on what I researched, it actually costs less to maintain and is obviously better for you health wise. So if you bare in mind that this is an independently owned Best Wester geared towards family occupation, and not the Hilton, you will do just fine. All the staff was very nice as well.

    4
« It works just fine »

Our stay at this hotel was fine. The lobby was nice and clean. Front desk clerk who checked us in was friendly. The room was comfortable, but nothing to be wowed over. The best feature of this hotel is their atrium pool area, which is spacious. I liked the natural lightning from the greenhouse type roof. There are a few arcade games and pool tables to give you something to do if you are looking to kill some time. Breakfast was the typical continental style - though there were hot eggs, sausage patties and gravy which was a pleasant surprise. The gentleman running breakfast was very nice and after he restocked the food he walked around to guest tables asking if they needed anything (nice touch). This hotel did the job for our one-night stay as we passed through town and was a good value.

    5
    « Wonderful Stay »

Love this hotel how all the room surround the amazing salt water pool. Breakfast was always ready to go and restocked with helpful friendly staff. Love the coffee in the lobby as you are on your way out the door. Pool area was the favorite we were there for baseball tournament and the seating along the pool while kids swam and pool tables to keep everyone busy when not swimming. I would highly recommend this Best Western.

    3
« Seems To Be Understaffed »

Where to start. Well, when I arrived, I went to the front desk to check in, only to find no one around. A sign on the desk advised to ring the bell. Ring the bell I did only to continue waiting. Then I spied another sign at the other end of the desk which stated for service at the desk to dial a number. I would have tried that also but there was no phone to be seen. After a 10-15 minute wait, the clerk returned apologizing the whole time for his absence (and for forgetting to put the phone out next to the sign). We finally got to the room and first thing noticed is bobby pins lying about on the floor. So now as we look around for bobby pins we also find several straight pins lying about on the floor. Come on people, if you are going to clean a room, CLEAN IT! So now my wife is looking around to see what else hasn't been cleaned and upon pulling the sheets back on one of the beds, finds a urine stained mattress pad on one of the beds. (We used this bed to throw our luggage on). Yes it was washed, yes there was a sheet over it, but come on, its stained with urine. Upon checking out, I was planning on addressing these things with the clerk but lo and behold once again, nowhere to be found. On the upside, the sleep was actually decent, the motel quiet, and the a/c cold. Would I go back? Not so sure.

    4
« Still Pretty Good But Understaffed »

We have stayed here the last 3 years for a baseball tournament and this hotel is very convenient. We checked in on a Friday around 4 and knew the place was booked for the night. The front desk was staffed by one clerk who was responsible for all check ins and taking reservations. This really slowed the process down and it took a long time to check in. The poolside room we had appeared to have been renovated recently and they did a good job. The pool area and salt water pool make for a good time for families. They don't open the pool till 930 which seems late. I understand the noise potential but kids like to get an early swim in most times. The breakfast last year had an omelet station which was great. Not so this year. Just the usual scrambled eggs and sausage patties. I like this place and will return next year. The pool area is GREAT for families.

« Team week end stay »

We stayed at this hotel because it was set up as a block with our kids team on a week end tourney. It is an older hotel that has had some updates in the rooms. It sort of has a "motor lodge" feel to it. My initial contact with the desk was poor to say the least. However, the manager worked very hard to correct the situation the following day. The rooms were clean and have a fridge. Some parts of the room still seem a bit dated. The pool area is large and sunny during the day with skylights over the top. The breakfast has a variety of hot and cold foods typical of hotels. Overall, it was an average hotel with a great manager. It worked well for a group but might not be my first choice if I wanted a stay for a fun week end in Appleton with just our family.

    3
« Needs update but good for families »

Liked the pool area. Nice pool and hot tub. Large area for kids to play. Check in was bad, they assigned us a room which they were still cleaning and they appeared to have many more rooms available. Common areas were not clean. With some undated and better maintenance this would be a great facility. Breakfast was fair at best, it is what you would expect at a budget motel.

    3
    « Whirlpool & TV Disappointment »

I was hoping to relax after a long day in the whirlpool only to be frustrated by the lack of operating instructions. I don't own a whirlpool tub so I can't be expected to solve the "mystery of operation". Since the TV and the whirlpool were the two primary sources of relaxation in the room, I'd have to say that things were a complete bust. The TV had no signal and the whirlpool no "whirl". vey disappointing :(

    4
« Stay for college reunion »

Have stayed at this hotel before. Easy access to destination and activities. The property is a little dated, but clean and staff friendly and helpful. We had a poolside room, but did not use the pool. It was a very nice space and was used extensively.

    3
    « Bestwestern Fox Valley »

It was ok. The hotel staff made us leave the pool area 15min before it closed. They called us before we got there and said our room was available, but then called back after they found out we were with a group of people and told us our room was available.

    5
« Favorite place to stay! »

Every visit has been great! We especially love the pool! The rooms are always clean, the staff has always been wonderful. We look forward to staying there often when we are in Appleton visiting with our family.

    1
    « Not Good »

This is a very old hotel that is not in the best neighborhood. It is not very clean. The rooms and the hotel in general have a foul odor. Our room has an acrid doggy odor. The rug feels grimy. We will never stay here again...

    4
« Great time for families and kids! »

I stay here all the time when I come to visit my son. We always have fun in the beautiful salt water pool. They also have a wonderful hot tub that is very relaxing. The rooms are perfectly comfortable and the staff is always helpful. The manager Sandip is always friendly. I would always recommend this hotel for families and kids. It's always a great time!

    4
« Above Average and Conveniently Located »

Got a pool-side room (which are noisy but convenient). Breakfast is sort of lame. Only styrofoam plates/cups and weak quality. The hotel is very conveniently located to lots of shopping and other activities.

    3
« Not impressed with the room »

Pool area looks amazing - however I did not use the pool. The room is very worn; apparently, I did not get one of the remodeled rooms others have mentioned. The bed was like sleeping on a sack of flattened cardboard - it was hard, and boxy feeling. Also, I slept for a couple hours, woke and felt like bugs were crawling on me. I turned on the lights, but didn't see anything. I stayed in #158, which is as far from the desk as possible along the back corner of the property. I felt uneasy about security (unusual for me to feel that way). There are security cameras in the hallway (unusual) but I did not see any monitoring the parking lot or entrances. Note fort CCW / Concealed Carry gun owners: There are 'No Guns' signs on all entrances to the property; if you are a law-abiding gun owner, this is probably not the place you want to stay. Obviously, 'bad guys' would disregard no-gun signs anyway, leaving gun owners either unprotected or in violation of the law, with your gun outside in the car where it won't help anyone if you need it.

« New updates sure do help »

My main reason for picking this hotel was because of the pool, hot tub and continental breakfast. So it was just a bonus having the newly remodeled rooms. But one of my pet peeves is the comfort of the bed. I personally prefer a softer mattress. The other one is cleanliness. The room was ok except they didn't move the ottoman to vacuum. When I moved it there was dried up flower petals.

    2
    « Not the Best... »

We've been trying to find a decent hotel that will take pets without a $100 charge when we visit my mom. So far, it isn't looking good. Pluses: Best Western only charges $20 per night for pets. The Staff is super friendly and accommodating! Our room: stunk. Moldy musty crusty on the bedspread rundown room... So we asked to move to another room. And Ashley was professional and moved us. Next door. So it was a little less stinky but the toilet wouldn't flush unless you held it down, the room still had aroma issues. We all had headaches and I had an allergic reaction to the must and mold. If you don't have allergies, the room was clean enough. The bedspreads were clean in the second room and they have a ton of tv channels to choose from. The pool was outdoors, and it was a little chilly by the time we were able to swim. We visit my mom often and wish there was a few choices for a newer hotel with pets allowed!

    5
    « Wonderful place »

Omgoodness!!! Sandip is the most AMAZING customer service rep!!! He is so kind and friendly.. The best I have EVER received in my life.. Highly recommend this place and will continue to return for mini get aways!!

« Front Desk Manager very nice and personalble. »

We recently stayed at this hotel to visit my niece how just had a baby. The front desk manager emailed me a few days before check in to notify me that the pool would be closed for a portion of our stay for maintenance. Since we had a pool side room he would need to move us. When I asked if he could move us and give a discount for our trouble he was quick to answer and offered a small discount. He then emailed me quickly back notifying me that the pool would only be closed one day. He still honored the discount for 3 days and the remaining days at the original agreed upon price. And he didn't need to move us. Overall a "stand-up" manager.

    5
« Salt pool! Five stars for supporting public health! »

The fact there is a SALT WATER POOL is especially notable! When the LA Olympics happened, international swimming competitors would not swim in a chlorine pool, since chlorine had been linked to congestive heart diseases, metabolic distresses, and decreased swimming speed. Since then, unbelieving US universities have put it to the test for the speed factor and found chlorine significantly slows the swimmer, since the metabolism has to detox as it works to swim. Some years ago, we lived in a condo complex which decided to opt for a peroxide-salt pool when repairing the outdoor facility, since it was easier & cheaper to maintain pool health, water cleanliness/public health, environmentally safe, and would not foster pathogenic muck. (Chlorine will speed black mildew growth, a deadly one.) By comparison to chlorine, people using the pool experienced: no fatigue, no burn-out, no bleaching of clothing, no respiratory issues, no need for lotions to help the skin afterwards - actually a pleasant skin response! Good move, Appleton Best Western!

« Great value, fun hotel »

This Best Western was beautiful and fun. The hotel rooms circle an atrium with nice pool, 2 pool tables, and other family friendly toys. Cleanliness is a number 1 priority to me and this Best Western met the white glove test. We will definitely stay here again.

    3
« Very average hotel stay »

Hotel rooms face open atrium with salt water pool. I had trouble using electronic key card to unlock my room. At least one key worked each time. Front desk person was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Bed provided good night's sleep. Continental breakfast was adequate- paper plates provided (not china) and no attendant available. Good OK. Restaurant and bar attached to hotel were also average.

    « Great Customer service »

We stayed there with a large group last weekend and I was impressed with Sandip and his excellent customer service. There were 4-5 large groups at the same time and he made sure we all shared the tables and chairs so each group had some. He came around multiple times to ask how we were doing and if we needed anything. He even came to tell us the 2 rooms checking in the second night were ready early. He was in great spirits and always smiling, He's a great asset to your hotel. The pool area is great for families and the accommodations for the large families groups are great. The neighbors were loud, but that wasn't the hotels fault.

    « Large family get-away »

Our family gathering took many lower level poolside rooms. Staff was very accommodating to our large group. Allowed us to bring our buffet of meals at the poolside area. They checked on us often to make sure we did not need anything. Pool and hot tub is saltwater, which the kids loved. No chlorine smell, which is a plus! Only drawback was pool area (including seating) was limited from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. It would have been nice to be able to still sit in that area after pool closure. When there is approximately 50 people ranging in age from 2 months to 83 years old in our group, guest rooms are just not large enough for that. But overall, we were very satisfied and would stay again.

The State tournament was in the Neenah/Menasha area but this hotel is convenient to both establishments. The salt water pool looked good but was too crowded for me. The breakfast area was adequate to serve many people. I enjoyed the choice of making one big waffle or 4 smaller ones. That was good for the kids so there wasn't a wasting of food.

The hotel is a little old but very well kept up. The pool area is fantastic for the kids and grandkids. There is a large area for adults to sit in pool area and enjoy their stay. The rooms are very clean but do show a slight bit of ware. The staff was very, very helpful and friendly. Sandip, at the front desk is now a friend. He paid special attention to our group, as he does with all of his guests. We will be back several more times in the future,

    « TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE »

The Girl Checking In was horrible. Asked for a 1st floor room as i am a handicapped person. Gave me a 2nd floor room with no elevator.. I am a reward person and stay at the best westerns all the time, usually at a Plus or Executive but this was the only one in Appleton. You might as well stay at a Super 8 for $100.00 for a single and get better rooms and service. While i was in the lobby, one lady came in and said her kids feet were cut up from the salt water pool. Guy at the desk really did not care and just pushed it off. another man came and asked for the manager, guy at the desk said he was it. Guy at desk gave that guy an excuse. They really do not care about customer service just the money. Smelled like Curry the minute you step in the lobby. I hate that smell!

« Awesome stay at Best Western In Appleton!!! »

The service was awesome, very attentive hotel staff. We enjoyed poolside rooms. The temp of the pool was perfect, no shivers, the temp within pool area was comfortable. Breakfast location was perfect.

« Outstanding customer service! Manager went beyond expectations. »

Sandip went out of his way to welcome our group; accommodating our travel schedules by changing breakfast and check out times - amazing. He intentionally would track us down to touch base with our group multiple times throughout our stay to make sure all our needs were being met. Rooms were nice, though did not expect to have to drag luggage up stairs. The pool area was great for groups, large courtyard style and welcoming atmosphere. Area for setting up your own buffet / snacks for your group. Kid friendly. Workout room was too HOT, tiny, low ceilings (so no fan) no air movement and the washer / dryer were in the same room which made it even worse for air flow /air quality. Definitely would stay there again if in the area.

« Glad we chose to stay here! Great service, clean rooms. »

I want to start by saying I don't typically write reviews, but I felt I needed to write this review. Reading through reviews on here I saw mixed feelings from previous guests at this hotel. I would have to say that after our 2 night stay our expectations were exceeded. We stayed with our family and basketball team. I believe we had up to 9 rooms during our stay and I didn't hear one negative from any of the families. It is an older hotel that has had renovations. Our room was updated with newer carpeting, bedding, desk and chair, table with 2 chairs, and updated bathroom vanity. The TV was a large (probably 36 in.) flat screen TV. Our room was cooler upon arrival, however we turned the heat up and in no time were toasty warm. The room was clean and stocked with clean towels. We had a second story poolside room. It was nice to look out over the pool area and see who was at the pool already from our group. We enjoyed the pool area as a group with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the pool and eat as a group poolside. The pool area is probably the best I've been at for a long time for a hotel, it is as the picture looks. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. They went above and beyond for our group and making our stay very enjoyable. The breakfast is a very nice full breakfast that was served both mornings. Sandin was great, asking many times if we needed anything else and also asked about our basketball games, adding the personal touch that this hotel has. We even had a question for management regarding checkout and they called him at home on a Saturday night, I've never had that done before. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would book again if we are in the Appleton area. Do as we did, check it out for yourself and be your own judge, glad we did.

    « Enjoyable »

I had a great time with my family and the pool is as good as it looks. Service was mediocre, I was quoted multiple prices and then had to booked online for the best price. The rooms are not warm when you go in and the tile floor in the bathroom was still cold when we left. So cold we put towels down.

poolside rooms that are indeed poolside...can sit in courtyard setting and watch children in the pool without missing a conversation...some staff extremely friendly due to very long association of going there every year

Checked and got room on second floor. No elevator. Hauled up all of our stuff up the stairs. Opened door. Alarm clock in the room going off. Heat NOT turned on. Saw breath when breathing. Turned On Heat to 86. Used the bathroom. Felt like ice fishing. Left room for it to warmup because it wasn't inhabitable. Went down to pool. Chairs not super comfy and dirty tables. Went back to room about 30 minutes later. Still cold but with jackets on somewhat tolerable. Went to bed. No extra blankets for said cold room. No extra pillows there either. Slept. Woke up. Tried to shower. No shampoo or body wash. Fridge was nice and cold-just like room.

    « Decent stay »

We stayed here over Thanksgiving while in town to see the Packers. To start, it was a bit difficult to get to the front entrance via the frontage road but we figured it out. Staff was pleasant at check in and answered questions we had before our arrival about shipping a package via Fed Ex to the hotel. We had no issues with that and were able to get what we need. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hot water did not work in the sink for some reason but that was OK. WiFi worked great in our room. I was a bit put off with no toiletries besides the body was dispenser, which I found weird. The sign listing prices for items like sheets and the hair dryer was very strange but whatever. We only ate breakfast once at the hotel and it was OK. Nothing to write home about. Overall, we had a good stay and would stay here again.

Its Bad. Room not clean for arrival. Clerks don't care. Overpriced. Dust & dirt on carpet along baseboards. Needs painting & remodeling. Has odor. Style & décor must be at least 50/60 years old. Breakfast limited and unappetizing.

    « Can't recommend this property »

Second visit at this hotel and it has gone downhill. The pool/atrium area is very nice which is why we chose this property, however the room was gross/dumpy. Rooms need major updating, won't stay here again unless that happens. Also breakfast was setup in old rooms, very odd. Didn't seem clean or spacious enough for people to get their food and eat. Only stay here if you can stand sleeping in a disgusting place.

SANDIP is the best! Such a kind man and I enjoyed my stay in his hotel. I stayed there a lot and I always felt at home :) The rooms were always clean, the staff was always willing to help and efficient in doing so. And Sandip especially went out of his way to do all that he could to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The location is great! Not far from Lambeau and I had no problem walking across the street for food and then enjoying it in my room in front of the TV and heater (brrrr) I enjoyed the vending machines very much so, used the laundry room, enjoyed after a long day relaxing in the hot tub. The entire inside of the pool area is high ceiling and open like, it's very nice to look at it and feels like the great environment that it is. I recommend the Best Western Fox Valley Inn, Appleton WI!!! Thank you & Best Wishes: Elyse

Not a great place to stay if you are looking for somewhere nice. The rooms were shabby and the walls were thin. Could hear the loud people next door as if they were in your room. Only shining spot is their salt water pool.

    « mold and filth »

Bathroom had mold black with spores on ceiling and wall above shower head. Bathroom floor was not clean with visible dirt on floor. Each bed had four pillows on the bed that appeared clean when looking at the beds. In the morning one pillow that hopefully wasn't used?? had a huge moldly pressed stain embedded into the pillow case. When attempting to take the pillow case off the pillow it was like ironed on or pressed into the pillow. stain was also on pillow. I took pictures of stained pillow and also the mold on the wall and told the person at the front desk. He asked me why I hadn't noticed the stain on the pillow when I arrived. I didn't exam both sides of the eight pillows guess that was my mistake??? All he said was oh ok I will tell housekeeping when they clean the room. I said the moldl on the ceiling didn't just appear when It has spores growing on it...so someone maybe be better tell someone that maybe they need to check rooms for issues that aren't reported to you. I paid $169 for the room for one night. I will never stay at a Best Western again. I will check pillows on both sides and exam the entire room before I lay my head on any hotel bed again. I think I will just stay home after that experience. Unbelievable and a health hazard!!

    « Exceded our expectations »

The staff, rooms and pool area exceded our expectations. The hotel stall all went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms are very nice with large tv's and comfortable beds. The pool area is great..very large and the pool has very warm water. We all enjoyed our stay very much. We had seven rooms and we all were very pleased.

« Good place to stay..... »

The rooms were average fridge, microwave, etc. Bed was very comfortable and pillows were as well. The pool area is very nice with hot tub, room to veg out and relax with family/friends. Breakfast was typical of hotel breakfast. Had to wait for a bit for the eggs, but sausage, biscuit gravey, bread, toast, muffins, juice, coffee, cereal etc. The staff was very nice and helpful. They were very understanding of a situation that arose with one of the guests that was with our room and I appreciated that.

    « A solid place to sty »

The rooms are large and pretty quiet. There is free wi-fi and the rooms have fridges and microwaves. While not an abundance of electrical plugs, there were enough to charge our various devices. the complimentary breakfast was standard Best Western fare which means ample, with some choices and some hot dishes.

    « Good night sleep »

I reserved this hotel due to no other hotels in the area available at the time. Glad I did! The hospitality and accommodations exceeded my expectations and we were also traveling with dogs which apparently did not come across the internet when I reserved the room online. The clerk at the desk on Saturday proceeded to tell us that that info does not come through and perhaps next time call to make the reservation. However, he was able to get us a pet friendly room and it was a terrific location in the hotel.

« Seems like the place to have a party »

If I ever needed a place in Appleton to have an indoor pool party, this seems like it would be a great place, as there were 3 of them there during the course of our one night stay. And I can see why, the atrium with the indoor pool is really very nice and has lots of tables, which many used to their advantage to set up their spreads of food and drinks. Reading other reviews that said there were a lot of parties I actually called ahead of time to be sure the pool area wouldn't be closed for any, and the person answering the phone said no, they never do that. That's probably true as there was no "Closed" sign, but there were definitely parties. There were so many people there for them, I had to question if each party goer was in fact a registered guest at the hotel? I don't claim that they weren't, it just made me wonder. If I had 15-20 people all willing to pay for a night in a hotel so we could have a pool party, great. No one was overly loud or crazy by any means, it was just definitely party central. That said all rooms do circle the pool, so there was noise. With two young kids to put to bed early, it wasn't the best choice for us, and wouldn't be for anyone looking for a relaxing stay. You may very well stay at a time when there aren't any parties going on, but since they don't book it for this purpose or seem to give the staff a heads up, you'd be taking your chances. Rooms are just fine, little older and dingy (especially the bathtub). Beds pretty stiff. Having a fridge and microwave was nice. All in all we were uncomfortable enough to head home early even though we prepaid for 2 nights, especially since the parties were going on and we knew there wouldn't really be any more pool time with the kids.
