"Fabulous hotel"
Dennise Y, 09 Octobre 2018

Great hotel, from the warm welcome on arrival to the friendly goodnight. Stayed here this week and can't tell you how clean, friendly and great my stay was. Breakfast was excellent plenty of choice. Rooms are a good size and very clean. The staff are fabulous.

"Dinner, bed and breakfast in this beautiful hotel"
peterkilpatrick1, 04 Octobre 2018

This is a beautiful, classy hotel situated in a lovely village. The room was gorgeous, spacious, and had all the extras that you would expect from a hotel of this class. The service was excellent, dinner was very good with a large menu and breakfast was varied and enhanced by a very attentive and welcoming group of staff. A stay to remember..

"Warm welcome and good food - just be careful which room you get"
stevenmary2014, 04 Octobre 2018

I have used this hotel quite a few times over the years (or one of the other 2 in the group - all good) and always find a warm welcome, comfortable rooms and good food. On this visit I was initially given room 11, but on entering found it was quite noisy due to extraction fans running in the kitchen directly below. I asked reception if I could move. Luckily this was still possible since there were several rooms not checked in, although the hotel was fully booked. I was informed the fans would be switched off at 9pm and then on again at 6am! If you are noise-sensitive avoid rooms 9 to 14. This was all achieved very politely so thanks to the receptionist for the help. The food in the restaurant was all good and service excellent. Breakfast also very good quality and equally good service. The only downside for me is the very heavy traffic to get to any of my calls in Glasgow - but no reflection on the hotel itself!

"Very comfortable "
Cm2bfc, 02 Octobre 2018

Business trip. Hotel car park around back. Postcode takes you to the front door. Reception very welcoming. Corridors very well kept and looks the job. Very clean. Room electric windows and blinds as it was a high ceiling. No bath. Very good shower. Very, very comfortable bed. Enough room to work on laptop. Not sure of the local area I never left hotel. Shower good power and easy to set. Glad the rooms were signs everywhere or I would of got lost ?? Food ordered a burger, very nice, very filling fell apart, burger too big for the bun. No complaints was very tasty. Cheesecake, not sure this is what I like as it was not a hard base, just sat on a bed of crumbs. Very reasonably priced.

"Beautiful hotel with excellent service"
iziesmith, 30 Septembre 2018

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and have dined here multiple times. The service is always impeccable but last night we were treated to silver service from the wonderful Kathy who ensured our beautifully cooked chateaubriand was served with style. The staff at this hotel always make your stay feel special but Kathy adds an extra sparkle with her wit and good humour. The rooms are beautifully decorated and always immaculate. We have stayed in a few of them but room 22 is where we were last night and we loved the velux windows in the roof allowing us a lovely view of the night sky. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel which always feel more like a 4 or 5 star than it does a 3 star. Thank you for making my birthday weekend one to remember.

"Amazing Bouillabaisse!!"
callumjohnstone70, 30 Septembre 2018

I have enjoyed dinner in the restaurant on various occasions and enjoyed the food served, however, my recent visit the food was OUTSTANDING. I enjoyed the special of the day. The special was an amazing Bouillabaisse. I have eaten this dish in France many of times and I have never tasted one as good as this!!! I recommend anyone visiting to try this dish if it is available or for the restaurant to have this on their menu pernamanently - I return just for the Bouillabaisse!!

"Excellent hotel and restaurant. Highly recommended "
travelcat023, 26 Septembre 2018

We have just returned from a one night stay at The Eglinton Arms in Eaglesham, on the outskirts of Glasgow. It was a last minute booking to visit family in the south side of the city. We normal choose a city centre hotel but as we had our car with us this time, we were able to look a little further afield. The hotel was really good and the restaurant superb. Our room was a standard twin... not huge but adequate for our needs. Room and bathroom were spotless and the beds very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were served in the cosy and welcoming dining room. Lovely menu for dinner served by attentive and friendly staff. Breakfast was first class with a lovely choice of both continental and cooked dishes. Cooked breakfast choices were made to order and served at the table which is just how we like it, rather than buffet style. The hotel is a popular wedding venue so although we weren't disturbed during our stay, it may be worth considering asking for a room in a quiet part of the hotel. The sound proofing could have been better between the rooms but that is only a small point. We visit Glasgow regularly and we would certainly stay again at this hotel again.

"Tanya"
tanya855, 13 Septembre 2018

One of the loveliest hotels I've come across . Quiet rooms and great ambiance. Nothing is too much trouble from extra bedding to perfect breakfasts. Staff were really friendly and helpful with great local knowledge . Thanks Hannah on reception, Connie, George , Carolan, Eden and Sarah Jayne for making my stay so special . See you soon !

"top hotel"

"1st Anniversary visit"
naomi J, 08 Septembre 2018

We got married in the venue last year and we were back for our anniversary overnight which was part of the package. We have visited a number of times since for lunch or dinner and as always we have had a fantastic night! We were lucky enough to get the honeymoon suite again and we arrived to a lovely warm welcome and Carolyn and a couple of other staff that were there on our wedding day spoke to us and congratulated us on our anniversary. The meal was lovely and the cocktails were fab. It was great as always. Thanks

"Our Fabulous Wedding Day 24/08/2018"
Gemma P, 04 Septembre 2018

My new wife Charlene and I could not have wished for a better wedding day and venue. From the moment we took our first weddimg fayre visit in March 2017 through to the big day 10 days ago. The Eglinton Arms Hotel has a somewhat homely feel with an elegant touch. The staff give quality service with a smile. In paticular Carolyn(thank you for being so kind, patient and professional throughout the months of preperation), Holly and Paul. Thank you for making our wedding so special - it is those little touches that made it for us. Earls Hall is a beautiful setting for any wedding ceremony. Some of our families stayed at the hotel a few nights before and over our wedding and could not fault a thing. Food quality - lunch, dinner and breakfast of high standard. Rooms spaceous, modern with a traditional Scottish feel. Honeymoon suite amazing!!! Especially loved the bathroom area with double sinks, double shower and freestanding bath - luxury at its finest! Overall would highly recommend a visit to The Eg - an escape from the city, whether it be for lunch with friends, dinner with family or a cheeky overnight break for two - it is a definate hidden Wedding Gem!X

"Lovely meal at the hotel's restaurant"
Voyager361943, 31 Août 2018

While visiting family in Glasgow my mother and I enjoyed a lovely meal at this beautiful hotel/restaurant. (23/8/2018) They are promoting their cocktails at the moment, absolutely worth trying one of those. We drank a very tasty Bramble, which I can absolutely recommend. The menu they serve is very tasteful and the service was relaxed and friendly. My lamb was done perfect and the sticky toffee pudding is a great dessert to finish your meal with. Absolutely worth visiting again!

"Nice place but food isn't quite the standard we expected."
Wilma B, 27 Août 2018

Spent three nights here recently having visited in the past. First time we stayed here the room we had was better and the toilet had a shower cubicle but this time it wasn't as great. Firstly the room was very small and not much room to move. The shower was awful as it was an over the bath shower which leaked onto the floor and also the temperature fluctuated and went from hot to cold a few times while having a shower. We decided to have a meal the night before we left but we were very disappointed with the food. The homemade chips that came with the food we ordered was disgusting and looked more like wedges that were burnt than homemade chips. Don't think we will stay here again.

"Warm and welcoming"
Nicola W, 27 Août 2018

My husband and I found ourselves unexpectedly childfree for the evening and popped in for a few drinks (unfortunately no food this time as we had eaten). We were given a choice sitting in the bar of reception, we chose reception the area as it was so cosy and comfortable. The staff looked after us really well even although the restaurant was busy and there was an evening wedding reception. Lovely place, lovely drinks and lovely staff....can't wait for our next childfree evening, we will be sure not to eat at home though ! Thanks for a lovely evening

"Excellent hotel !"
Lee C, 23 Août 2018

I have been staying here for the last 2 years on and off with work, and the hotel is very nice all round . the management and staff are fantastic , very helpful and friendly . the hotel has a very welcoming feel and the rooms are one of the best I have stayed in with BW and value for money . The restaurant and bar is nice and relaxed and the food and menu is very nice!:-) "A little gem in the heart of Eaglesham "

"Not a bad little place"
abcadvisor, 20 Août 2018

Stayed here for a few days while doing business in the Kilmarnock/Stewarton area. This seems to be the best of a small selection of hotels in the area. The restaurant is good and there is a separate bar if you prefer the bar experience. The guest room doors slam a bit more noisily than they need to but less so than other establishments in the area. I was leaving early on my check-out day so I decided to try the “pack breakfast” they were offering. The content was a lot of high-calories & starch but certainly better than nothing and was prepared and ready on my departure. The people on reception were all professional and nice to interact with.

"BEST-Best Western EVER!!!!"
chriscampbell1701, 16 Août 2018

Myself and my husband got married here on March 3rd this year. From the moment we arrived for an initial viewing we fell in love. The place is beautiful inside and out. The decor is very tradition but modern with tartan everywhere, stags heads, thick leather couches, open fire - BEAUTIFUL!!! After walking round we were sold on the place - then we saw the honeymoon suite and it only confirmed this was exactly what we needed. Carolyn was our coordinator and from the moment we met her she was fantastic. Her attention to details is incredible, nothing was too much to ask. If any remembers in March it was the freak snow storm - Carolyn didn't let this stop us having the best day we could. I'd go as far to say she was no longer our wedding coordinator but in fact our friend. Not only is Carolyn a god send, the other management team member Paul has got to be one of the nicest guys we've ever met. The place is managed in a tremendous way and the management team have such a great staff team on their hands. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful and all presented extremely well. If you are considering this venue for your wedding or even an overnight stay (the food is delicious and the breakfast plentiful) DO IT!!!!

"Gary&tina playforth"
playforthg21, 08 Août 2018

What great value, from Paul the manager to Hannah on reception and Connie and the guys in the restaurant they made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough for us! Nothing too much to ask for! Rooms very clean and well adorned. Location very nice , and food very good! It was our first trip to Scotland and won't be our last, and next time eglinton arms will be our first port of call! Thank you Paul and your terrific staff and we will see you all again next summer! Gary & Tina

"Fabulous surprise"
JMJ1967, 06 Août 2018

I remember this hotel as a local pub. After a long time away, I booked a room at short notice, with no expectations. The price offered was equivalent to some very basic chains. At check in, it was obvious I was in a far better hotel. Reception was spotless, inviting, and very efficient. The room (a basic double) was small, but very well laid out with good quality fittings and linens, and a view over the village green. The bathroom was stylishly designed, with very good products. We went downstairs to the lounge area beside the bar and restaurant. The chairs were comfortable, and spaced a comfortable distance apart. A brief inspection of the menu had me change my plans; instead of going out to eat with my family, we ate at the hotel. Dinner was simply sublime; carnivores and vegetarians were both very well provided for. Try the cullen skink!

"Spotless!"
LRH1706, 05 Août 2018

We had an excellent stay, the staff could not do enough for us from the moment we checked in. They were so attentive at breakfast time, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were stylish and absolutely spotless. Would highly recommend.

"Nice experience"
PGIT, 04 Août 2018

The hotel is clean and thre staff very helpful. We had made an error in our reservations and they helped us resolve the issue. The restaurant had good food. We were upgraded to the bridle sweet which was a blast.

"Outstanding in everybrespect"
J T, 22 Juillet 2018

Every member of staff was absolutely outstanding. Nothing was too much bother and they were unfailingly polite, friendly and helpful. The beds were super comfortable and the room and bathroom spotless. The food and service was also superb - dinner was exceptional on both evenings of our stay. Peaceful and quiet location but not too far from Glasgow.

"Lovely family meal!"
JohnKerrBrown, 19 Juillet 2018

Eleven of us dined here last night for a family celebration meal. Great food - something for everyone. Also pleasant helpful staff. Shauna and her team were very attentive throughout the meal - even replenishing the water jugs at least twice.Lovely hotel in a great location - situated in a conservation village but near the motorway system into Glasgow or Ayrshire.

"Beautiful Location and Good food"
obichip, 09 Juillet 2018

Been to this hotel for food about 10 times......says it all.We have had various meals here and not one plate of food has been a disappointment.Set menu is extremely good value and plenty of food on your plate.Staff are friendly and nothing seems a bother to them.Hotel is well taken care of and clean......a pleasure just to go back every once in a while.

"Fab stay now looking forward to getting married there"
Scottgirl011, 06 Juillet 2018

We decided to have dinner here and stay the night as have booked the venue for our wedding next July. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we had a fab time, the rook no 30 was brilliant, one of the best I have stayed in, very spacious and loved the decor. The shower although powerful was finding it hard to maintain a temperature but didn't spoil my stay and mentioned it to reception on leaving which they took a note of. The grounds are stunning and loved walking in them in the sunshine, there are lots of signs about explaining the history which was interesting. We enjoyed sitting outside for a few drinks before dinner, as the weather was so sunny. I sampled some gins which were lovely and good value for money, my husband to be enjoyed a few beers. We then had a brilliant dinner, my fish and chips main was so good, the hand cut chips been the best I have had, just a shame I couldn't eat much of my fish and was full from my starter and the chips. The service was friendly and relaxed. We had a good night sleep and again enjoyed our breakfast, with Chloe explaining how the breakfast worked with their being the cold buffet and then hot things were made to order. We then went for another walk in the sun and decided we may as well have lunch too, again lovely meal, Gavin kindly asked the chef if I could have Cullen skink as was not on the lunch menu when the chef agreed to. Am now even more excited for our wedding as the food was fab, the staff lovely and the room great.

"Exquisite Hotel, Excellent food and Friendly staff"
leevashg, 05 Juillet 2018

Excellent hotel with very friendly staff, great food and lovely scenery. It had been my home away from home for past 3months and anything that I had requested to make my experience feel homely was granted. Had an amazing experience watching the Champions League as well as the Fifa World cup group stage matches amongst the locals at the Hotels bar. A huge thank you to each and every staff member of the Eglington Arms that had made my stay a memorable one. Keep up the excellent service. Will definitely come back.

"Lovely location, nice staff -- but very small room and noisy wedding guests"
BelfastDubs, 01 Juillet 2018

We booked directly with the hotel and got a good rate for B & B. We were however disappointed with the very small room, more typical of Amsterdam than Scotland. Had we been staying more than one night I would have been very unhappy (and probably, as Paul A implies in his review, a little bruised!). My wife had twice to call down from our window to noisy wedding guests, in the early hours of the morning. Finding the cereals and juices at breakfast took a little initiative. On the positive side, we were accommodated quite quickly for dinner in the restaurant on a very busy Saturday night, the food was very nice and staff were pleasant. Look for a decent sized room and avoid the wedding season and you should have an enjoyable stay.

"Excellent hotel."
Christine W, 26 Juin 2018

Great Hotel situated in the lovely village of Eaglesham. Couldn't fault it. Beautiful room, good food, & very friendly staff. If you have enough time a walk along the heritage trail is well worth it. Beware the midges at dusk!

"Simply superb"
papajonesb, 24 Juin 2018

I was at a birthday party for a meal and drinks, the food was absolutely first class the service was even better than first class so attentive, it had been thirty years since I was last in this place but was a fantastic evening experience all the staff Superb I will be back again soon, keep up the good work thank you.

"Afternoon tea"
McHugglebuggles, 18 Juin 2018

I recently joined 9 friends for afternoon tea and we were all very impressed! Good food, great service (with bottomless tea and coffee pots!) Lovely ambience, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended !!

"DONT PARK IN THE MANAGER's PARKING SPACE"
big-mfic, 17 Juin 2018

Please be aware that you should NOT park in the Manager's personal Car Park space which is situated on the pavement at the footpath entrance to the village green . If you do the consequences are severe and terrible 1- The manager will have to walk 2 yards further to get to his/ her work in the hotel 2- People wanting to get onto the path will no longer have to manoeuvre past the car 3- The elderly and physically frail will get unblocked access to the path 4- Wheelchairs will be able to get directly onto the path (not a great path though) 5- The manager will be gutted and disappointed when he/she doesnt get a ticket from the police when the new pavement parking law comes into effect soon

"Rerun of January's bday visit "
charlieflo, 09 Juin 2018

What can we say a fab time had again. Arrived fri pm in time for afternoon tea to a warm welcome . First room we were given we weren't impressed as it had an awful smell so we returned to reception and were given a fab room. Had dinner on Saturday night which was beautiful and went into Michael Buble tribute for the second half and breakfast each morning was lovely. Staff very helpful especially Paul and all the reception staff. Can't wait to return thinking of coming back just the 2 of us for a romantic first wedding anniversary in September .

"A gem of a hotel"
whiskymac64458, 09 Juin 2018

From the moment we arrived this hotel gives off a good vibe Allthe staff were extremely friendly and helpful the chambermaid the delightful lady who served us a lovely breakfast to the young man at Reception when we checked out It was genuine helpful and professional service Our room was spotless very comfortable and a good night's sleep ensued We only stayed one night but will definitely be back We had lunch on arrival which was fresh tasty and more than ample Next time we hope to book in for dinner

"Lovely Hotel"
Cairolass_12, 03 Juin 2018

Our room was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Only a couple of minor points. Our shower gave only cold water after the first shower. When we pointed this out to the receptionist she was totally uninterested and said we had to run it for a while. Well it had been running for 15 minutes before it went cold but no apology. It would also have been helpful to have a handrail in shower or a non slip mat. But these are minor gripes. I have fond memories of the Eg and will always remain loyal!

"Wedding Day"
Roxagon, 02 Juin 2018

I had my wedding here on Sunday 27th May and it was nothing short of perfect. I arrived the day before with my bridesmaids to drop off favours etc, plus we were staying the night. We were warmly greeted at reception and checked in quickly and easily. After check in we left all wedding things with the receptionist and headed for a drink. The bar has a great selection of drinks, we tried a couple of different gins. My favourite was Tanqueray! I started the morning of the wedding with a lovely breakfast to kick start the day! After getting ready all of my stuff was conveniently moved into the honeymoon suite by housekeeping to save any hassle for us which may seem like a small thing but was a huge help! The ceremony went without a hitch. The ceremony/function room was decorated beautifully along with the favours we had dropped off. Moreover the hotel provided beautiful center pieces and flower arrangements along with some extra special finishing touches. I cannot thank and praise The Eglinton Arms enough. Everyone from the reception staff, house keeping bar tenders right up to the wedding team; Carolyn, Paul and Holly worked so hard to make sure the day went perfectly. I will be recommending The Eglinton Arms to everyone and will definitely be back with my new husband for dinner and a few gins ?? Roxanne & Liam Fisher

"Lunch"
June C, 01 Juin 2018

Visited recently for lunch with my husband. I chose the Cod with lemon and thyme risotto unfortunately when it arrived I quickly gathered that the Cod was not cooked sufficiently for my taste. I did alert the staff to the fact that I did not like it and was asked if I would like to change my meal. I opted for the fusilli with tomato, garlic and chilli sauce. My husband on the other hand ordered the steak and onion baguette with an order of French fries unfortunately the French fries never appeared, he did like the baguette. I have eaten here before and enjoyed the food but not sure how long it will be before I'm back.

"Relaxing journey break"
AlanWH25, 27 Mai 2018

Excellent example of a great best western hotel . Independently run (one of three) with the strength of a brand behind it One night stop over on a journey north. After 7 hours on the road bank holiday Friday. Friendly staff and reception and a quiet drink. Breakfast and service excellent

"Family Celebration Well Catered For"
Scott M, 12 Mai 2018

Sunday afternoon function well catered for last weekend. A 90th birthday celebration for my granddad. The back bar was used and a good size for a group of around 16. Accessible for the several elderly guest sin attendance. Catered well for two toddlers, there is also a good playpark across the road so children can be occupied well if they become restless. Staff friendly. Varied menu and all enjoyed their meals. Only downsides - Service a little slow and back bar got very warm - air con could be better. No baby change (or not well sign posted as we didn't find these)

"Anniversary lunch"
cas-Glasgow, 01 Mai 2018

We booked the hotel for a lunch for 60 people. Good options for the menu. Everyone who had the haggis raved about how good it was. I was one of them. The cost of the food was also very good value. We received very good service both in the preparation and also on the day. Staff were attentive and polite. We didn't stay at the hotel so can't comment on the rooms.

"First class"
noreen s, 30 Avril 2018

This is the perfect venue for a special occasion or just an evening out for dinner or a drink. was at an anniversary lunch yesterday. the food was amazing and the service was excellent. would certainly recommend & definitely return.

"Hidden Gem"
Graggymaggie, 29 Avril 2018

We were booked to stay here because we were visiting friends who live in the village and this was the only place close by. From the moment we checked in to check out what a great find. The young man on reception was so helpful and pleasant and gave great first impression. Our room was quite small but very comfortable and appeared newly refurbished. Bed comfortable and all facilities expected were there. Hot Breakfast was to order and again could not fault. All freshly made, not being kept warm as in some of the other hotels. A cold buffet was available with some lovely fresh fruit. The 2 gentlemanen serving us were great and their sense of humour was really welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. If I ever am in need of accommodation in this area again this hotel would be our first choice. A charming, comfortable hotel with excellent customer service.

"Lunch Meal with Family"
PaulB34515, 29 Avril 2018

Over easter this was the best quality meal at the fairest price we had. The menu had something for everyone. The children's selection was great and the atmosphere was laid back. The hotel was immaculate and the staff great. We will come back

"Comfortable stay in a convenient location"
F R, 26 Avril 2018

This hotel is in a convenient location for the south of Glasgow, East Kilbride etc. There is good parking. Staff were friendly. My room was comfortable and clean, with all you'd expect in it - apart from herbal/green tea! There was decaffeinated coffee, but no option for the tea. My bed was a bit saggy in the middle; the mattress probably needs turning. The modern bathroom had a lovely shower. Breakfast is cooked to order and there was a good selection on offer. The restaurant had a reasonable dinner menu though the execution was fairly average. I was disappointed with my dessert one evening though, a pavlova. In my naivety I expected the meringue to be homemade, but it was very much a shop bought 'processed' meringue. Overall, the hotel is fairly average. It seems such a shame that more isn't made of the venue especially as it is in a Conservation Village. The dark decor in the corridors and bedrooms needs to be lightened and the restaurant needs to up its game a bit. Nothing especially wrong with the food I ate, but it was mediocre. My review might seems a bit mixed, but I would stay here again for a couple of nights if need be, knowing that I would get a clean room and edible food, all for a reasonable price.

"A most welcome return ..."
Alec L, 26 Avril 2018

The staff here always go beyond to ensure that your expectations are exceptional. Just spent a couple of days back at The Eglinton and it's so nice to return. Thank you to all the Staff and looking forward to returning in the future. Spot On ! The SmoothJazzMeister

"Fantastic hotel"
johnmcginty71, 15 Avril 2018

This hotel deserves more than the 3 star rating that the Scottish tourist board have given it. Wonderful staff, spotless clean and tastefully decorated room and beautiful food in the resteraunt. The freshly cooked full Scottish breakfast was fantastic. We will definately be back.

"Unbelievably, just a three-star hotel"
EssexboyIan, 13 Avril 2018

I'll never understand hotel star ratings, This hotel is hard to fault – comfortable, beautifully decorated and maintained, well staffed and obviously well managed. We stayed recently for one Saturday for a trad jazz night and the stay was a pleasure in itself. The pre-show dinner was straightforward but very tasty, not always an easy trick to pull off when catering for large numbers. All the staff appeared to be local and were friendly and efficient.

"Top notch"
georgelazenbyjnr, 03 Avril 2018

We stayed here over Easter on a family visit and were very happy with the quality of the hotel and wonderful service. Everyone was friendly with a special mention for Rebbecca, Kathleen, Gavin and Amanda. Room service was quick with nicely prepared and tasty food. Excellent coffee and generous breakfast. A real treat.

"Highly Recommended "
LoobyLou0035, 03 Avril 2018

Stayed for one night. What a gorgeous hotel. Greeted by a very professional and courteous member of staff on reception. The foyer is very inviting and draws you in to the rest of the hotel. My room was beautifully decorated and very clean with everything I needed to make me feel comfortable. Great sleep on a comfortable bed. Fabulous breakfast the next morning. Great selection on the menu along with a well set out buffet. Very pleasant and relaxing surroundings. Highly recommended. I will be back.

"3 day trip"
Kevin H, 28 Mars 2018

Lovely place to stay, food and drink was great, my favourite being the chicken escalope. Staff are so pleasant and helpful, I wish we could have stayed longer. Will be returning later in the year to visit family.

"Fantastic Hotel - room, food and wedding"
Jennifer M, 21 Mars 2018

I got married here last year and I cannot recommend this hotel enough, every single need and want was catered for throughout the planning stage, wedding day and even after our big day! Our day was absolutely amazing and there was not one single complaint I had, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, the food is fantastic and the rooms are updated, clean and fresh! Not sure what else you could want! We have been for lunch and dinner a few times before and after the wedding and thoroughly enjoyed it every time. I also won a competition for an bed and breakfast overnight stay and we had an amazing time! Rooms are spotless, clean fresh towels and bathroom was spotless! I will most certainly be back at any given opportunity!

"Fabulous service"

Stayed here for a 2 day business trip. The service is fantastic, from Massimo on reception to Gavin in the bar and restaurant and not to mention the lovely food. This hotel is an absolute must stay for both business and pleasure if staying in the area.

Megrob2017, 23 Février 2018

Attended a fundraising night within the Function Room of the "Eg" last Saturday on behalf of the local amateur football team. A great time was had by all and what really made the night a great success was the brilliant service by Carolyn and ALL her staff on duty. The meal was well presented, on time and delicious. The guest speakers were obviously impressed as they mentioned this during their speeches.

"Busy Tuesday Night"
S0uthsideTraveller, 16 Février 2018

We ate here on Tuesday night and couldn't believe how busy it was. The buzz of chatter made for a nice atmosphere. All of the staff we encountered were very pleasant and they chatted away to our party with ease. It's nice when people show a bit of personality. I had shin of beef. It was nice, but not the best of that kind of dish I have had, it was a little dry. Maybe more gravy would have helped, you can never have too much gravy :) On saying this, I still cleared my plate! Two of our party had burgers, chicken and beef. Both were decent size portions and got excellent feedback. They come with hand cut chips, which are more like wedges. However if you prefer skinny fries they don't have any issue substituting. Our niece chose chicken strips from the childrens menu. This was a really good size portion with a few fillets, fries and salad. She clearly enjoyed it as she has declared that this is what she will choose again next time. We enjoyed the experience very much and we will definitely return.

"Short break"
Karen I, 13 Février 2018

From the minute we walked through the door all staff couldn't do enough for you. We took upgrade on room when booking and it was lovely and spotlessly clean. The ladies were still cleaning and brought me jugs of milk for my tea instead of the little cartons and did same next day. Great to get in at 1pm instead of usual 2 or 3. Lovely hotel with a fire to sit at with newspaper. Afternoon tea was delicious and loved the Hendricks gin tea pot and cups/saucers. Breakfast cooked to order which I like and small continental to choose from. Evening meal was lovely and well presented, again staff very attentive without being intrusive. Lorna and Rebecca made our evening stopping to chat and there service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming, made you feel very much at home in the hotel. Plenty parking but it was Sunday/Monday, showers great, comfy bed, warm rooms, plenty tea, coffee, shortbread in room. Staff were just wonderful, everyone we came across and lovely friendly manager Paul. Looking forward to returning for another quiet wee break. Bar prices pretty good to. Very well presented hotel with lovely furnishings.

"Perfect Wedding"
suze_85, 13 Février 2018

We had our wedding here on the 9th February and it was just fantastic from beginning to end. Right from when we booked the Eglinton Arms a year ago, we had such a good impression from the staff and every confidence in them. Carolyn and Paul are so helpful, efficient and lovely people to deal with. They are so good at what they do and the level of professionalism/organisation and eye for detail all contributed to our day going so smoothly. It is a beautiful venue and the food was outstanding. So many of our guests commented on how delicious the food was. The honeymoon suite is a magnificent room, it could rival something you would find in a 5 star hotel. We really felt it was the perfect wedding venue, intimate and full of atmosphere, attentive staff and as we were lucky with the weather ideal for some pictures on the "orry". We would not hesitate to recommend the Eg to anyone. We have so many good memories from this day and as we live locally we will most definitely be back! Thanks again, Suzanne and Craig

"One night stay"
Mairi R, 10 Février 2018

Beautiful setting in the village of Eaglesham. Lovely decor, traditional but with a modern cosy feel. Friendly welcome at Reception. Our room was small but had everything we needed. Very comfortable bed and and spotlessly clean. We had dinner in the Restaurant and it was so tasty. Good menu and the Wine List was good too - and not overly priced. The Restaurant manager, Paul, was first class. So friendly and helpful as was Kathy our waitress. One of our friend's who joined us for dinner uses a wheelchair and was easily able to move around the hotel and restaurant. Great breakfast with a good selection to choose from. All in all a great night and would definitely recommend. Hope all the staff are appreciated by their bosses because they make this hotel a really lovely place to stay/have lunch or dinner. The only thing I didn't like was the new plastic looking branded signage on the front of the hotel, it just looks a bit cheap on such a beautiful old building.

"Great food and service"
ScotlandTravel-lover, 09 Février 2018

Had Sunday lunch here with the family to celebrate my mums birthday. The food was excellent, good choice, good quality and tasty. Good sized portions.Service was excellent. Will be back bad can highly recommend.

"Welcoming staff"
Freddie212, 04 Février 2018

Exterior of the hotel is attractive and there is ample parking. Credit where credit's due this is a well run establishment with staff seemingly highly trained in hospitality. It has a extremely nice atmosphere. Check-in and check-out very easy and quick by receptionist Victoria. We discovered we'd been given the wrong type of room but on mentioning it to the staff member we'd just spoken to in the corridor, whom we learned was called Amanda, we were told not to worry as she'd sort it out. She then sped downstairs to reception to organise a change of room and returned in no time at all with the key card. My wife uses a wheeled walking aid and in the hotel there were no obstacles to hinder her in any way. Great elevator to the bedrooms too. Our room was spacious and comfortable and very clean with 2 good chairs. The room had an electric heater which was easy to control plus a very good heated towel rail in the well equipped modern bathroom. Nice view from our window too of a park with a stream. There were plenty of soft sofas and chairs in the public areas with the addition of a very realistic flame gas fire. There are two parts to the restaurant, one at ground level and the other up a few steps so this hotel is a good choice for the less mobile guests. The restaurant staff are great, we were shown to our table by Kathleen then she brought us our wine. We were on a deal by 'myhotelbreak.com' but were pleasantly surprised at the selection on the 'deal' menu. Our orders were taken quickly by Rebecca and another waitress called Lorna was very helpful and chatty. We got talking to a local couple sitting at the next table who assured us that we wouldn't be disappointed with the food. I think that if locals dine in a hotel restaurant that's a fine endorsement. The food was indeed very tasty, of high quality and plentiful and the friendliness of the serving staff made it all the more pleasant dining experience. Breakfast too was very enjoyable with a good selection on offer and efficiently served by the same Kathleen who'd been in the restaurant at dinner. I've no qualms in recommending this superb hotel and hope to make a return visit.

"Beautuiful"
Vee M, 31 Janvier 2018

Wonderfully comfortable hotel..... where we were pleasantly welcomed by Vicky who is perfect for reception. Her colleague Sarah Jayne was also most helpful when we spoke to her later on. There is a superb lift which because I have mobility problems was a boon for me, and I guess for anyone toting heavy luggage. Amanda in housekeeping was also a great help showing us to our room and helping with the bags...nothing was too much trouble for her.. The hotel has a warm feeling to it which although quite possibly due to the decor and ambiance is much more down to the staff as every member we encountered had a cheery smile and a friendly greeting. Dinner was delicious and well presented so thumbs up to the chef....but I must comment on the waiting staff who were very efficient and amiable.....I made a point of remembering their names so that I could thank them for their kindness towards us, making us feel like they enjoyed serving us.. so thank you Kathleen, Lorna and Rebecca you have all made us keen to return. Our room was spotlessly clean, cosy and fresh with comfortable beds and sparkling bed linen and the shining bathroom was tip top with nice toiletries and lovely soft towels and there was ample shelf space for guest's personal items. Breakfast was another enjoyable meal with lots of choices and efficiently served again by Kathleen. We highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

"Birthday catch up"
charlieflo, 28 Janvier 2018

Well what can I say but wow thanks and we've just come home and rebooked it. Checked in Friday the man on reception was very friendly and efficient and we went to our room. It was lovely and there was a birthday card and box of sweets for me a lovely touch I thought. We went down to the lounge and had lunch very good value for money. Our friends arrived and we sat in the bar for the afternoon. Our evening meal was 3 courses , very good portions and again everyone enjoyed. Next day we had a lovely breakfast went out and came back for afternoon tea. What a portion again tremendous value for money and our meal again Saturday night couldn't fault. The staff are an asset to your establishment everyone we encountered whether it was the man on reception , Paul I think the managers name and all the waiting on staff and housekeepers were extremely friendly and went out of their way to assist. We had a fantastic time and have come home today and rebooked straight away for April . You should all be very proud of your establishment and I can't wait to come back . Thanks again .

"Great Food and Atmosphere!"
Huggles7564, 28 Janvier 2018

Had lunch here yesterday with my family, a treat for my husband's birthday. The food was excellent....can recommend the Tempura Prawns for Starters and the Beef Shin for Main, not forgetting the Sti my Toffee Pudding. The service was good although I have to say it was slightly disappointing to have to remind staff that we had requested drinks (on two occasions) which hadn't arrived but the situation was remedied quickly enough. I first stayed at this hotel over 40 years ago and certainly a lot has changed, at least in the decor stakes, the food was just as good then, if I remember correctly. The recent refurbishment has certainly improved the public areas which are very elegant and welcoming, however, in my opinion, the black and white exterior of yesteryear made it more unique, maintaining it's origin as a coaching inn. Sometimes in their rush to modernize establishments, chains forget that being unique and individual can be a good thing, but that's just my personal opinion. I feel sure we will be back, perhaps to stay next time.......would definitely recommend a visit.

"Amazing food but..."
User, 27 Janvier 2018

We had dinner at the Eg after receiving vouchers for a wedding anniversary present. We got married at the Eg 3 years ago and have since held various family functions there so we were so looking forward to it! The food was absolutely lovely, fantastic menu, beautiful presentation and food far exceeding expectations! Unfortunately for us what let our experience down was the front of house. Our table wasn't ready for a good 20 mins or so after our booking time which would have been fine but no drinks order or anything was taken while we waited. When we got to our table the meal was so rushed we were sure we were in the way of some other booking or other. Unfortunately the service wasn't what we have been used to at the Eg (we asked 6 times (!!) for water) and this coupled with a response to our query on the bill has meant we would be very reluctant to dine here again, despite our previous ties with the Eg.

"Surprise Party"
VinRouge79, 22 Janvier 2018

I would like to thank you very much for making Johns surprise party such a success. Always lovely to come to the Eg for our families events never disappoints always exceeds. Please pass on our thanks also to Angela for helping with our room bookings, so nice to feel welcomed. Also pass on our thanks to Holly who served our buffet and took good care of us. Kathy as always is so helpful with the buffet and our breakfast, especially kind to our little ones at breakfast, pass on our thanks please. Well done Eg, a truly lovely family event. Take care & best wishes to all.

"10/10 FANTASTIC IN EVERY WAY"
TessaLSmart, 19 Janvier 2018

I'm away on a business trip and have to stay in hotels quite often. this is by far the best place I have stayed, the staff are brilliant, made me feel welcome cracking jokes and genuinely seemed happy to see me other than fake siles you get from other places. They made conversation and nothing was too much trouble for them it made staying away on my own a lot less lonely! the food was one of the best meals I have ever eaten I had the braised beef and oh my it was perfect. if it wasn't for the fact they have weight restrictions on planes I would of eaten another 5!!!!!!!! the room was also delightful. definitely recommend this place to anyone!

"Great Find!!!"
Danny F, 12 Janvier 2018

Stayed for four nights between Christmas and New Year with my teenage son. Usually stay at Hilton in Glasgow and thought I would give The Eggy Arms a try and was very pleasantly surprised. Room was comfortable, beds were great though bathroom was freezing and took and age for hot water to arrive at the shower. Not really a problem and mentioned it at reception in passing. When we returned to the room they had put a portable heater in there, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was great. Management had obviously made a decision to employ a slightly older staff and this worked really well in terms of service. No grumpy teenagers who would rather be somewhere else!George was a really nice guy. Only gripe would be the abysmal piped music in the bar, which apparently can't be changed! Someone really needs to try to have a drink in there whilst it's on! A form of torture. Will definitely stay again on our next trip to Glasgow.

"Not the best"
vinnyGlasgow, 12 Janvier 2018

I actually don't like writing a bad review of anywhere and there were nice aspects to the hotel but I didn't think it was the cleanest place I had stayed. The dark wood decor was very tired and the lighting was a little odd. You either had full spotlights or one central light above the bed that had insufficient light for reading. There was tea and coffee making facilities with shortbread which was a nice touch but below that on the floor it looked as if it hadn't been hoovered and there was a toenail which turned my stomach. The bathroom was lovely with a heated towel rail and bath gel, shampoo and a shower cap but similarly that floor hadn't been cleaned properly. The bed had bobbly sheets and worst of all, sank in the middle. The walls seem to be very thin as I could hear the man next door. Lastly I was asked if I wished an alarm call which I said yes but alas no call came. I'm sorry to say I was booked and paid for two nights but only lasted one

"Christmas Day Lunch"
Theo099, 08 Janvier 2018

Please pass on our thanks to Paul and his team for their hard work on Christmas Day. The atmosphere they created was excellent as was the food and service. restaurant was beautifully decorated and the staff welcomed our party as if it was their own home. The service was very attentive and the choice of menu and quality of food was all superb. Exceeded our expectations! Well done!

"Eglinton Arms"
witch2014, 07 Janvier 2018

Beautiful little hotel. Our room was lovely. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Good choice of food and wine. My favourite drink was a pink gin and lemonade. The hotel is very cosy and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would recommend this hotel for a short break, very central for travelling around the South West of Scotland

"Wedding venue"
CR19EK, 02 Janvier 2018

Can thoroughly recommend this hotel as a wedding venue. From start to finish the staff were so attentive and helpful. Nothing was too much bother. Setting is lovely for photos outside and in. Food was delicious and well presented. Bedrooms were lovely and breakfast very tasty.

"Warm welcoming accommodation with great food "

"Very welcoming and very relaxed"
rmcd115w, 27 Décembre 2017

We (myself, my wife and 2 adult children) spent 4 nights at the Eg over Xmas 2017 as a base for our festive family visiting. We were made very welcome and had a very relaxing time. From a simple, but more than adequate, breakfast service, to the helpful and pleasant bar service, to the casual dining in the lounge and restaurant everything was done in a polite and friendly manner. The management gave the impression that nothing would have been too much trouble for them. We had a family meal in the lounge for 14 people, spread over 3 generations, and the choice of food was good and the quality was everything we needed. There was also a well put together wine list. In addition, there was a lovely touch when every room woke up to a traditional Xmas stocking on Xmas Day, a great gesture. The rooms were not massive but they were entirely functional. Happy to recommend this friendly, country hotel, particularly if you are looking for a quiet base from which to explore Glasgow, Ayrshire and the surrounding areas.

"Great Xmas lunch"
Purplesuzie1, 18 Décembre 2017

We went to the Eglinton Arms for our office Xmas lunch and weren't disappointed! The restaurant was very festive looking and had a welcoming atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Food arrived quickly and was delicious. The fish cakes were packed full and tasted lovely. Everyone commented on how lovely everything was. Coffee came with tablet which was a nice touch instead of the usual chocolate mints. All in all a fab lunch!

"Christmas Party Night"
mojo12017, 18 Décembre 2017

The whole night was amazing. We had an brilliant Christmas Party night at the hotel. The hotel is gorgeous and well laid out. We have the whole function suite to ourselves which had been beautifully dressed for the evening. All the staff were so helpful and fun, they couldn't do enough to ensure we had a fabulous time. Vincent was such a fun waiter every time we saw him he was singing and dancing in time with the band, it was great to see. The choice of menu for the night was lovely and considering there were nearly 100 people on the night, service was efficient and the food fantastic. Every plate was presented well, tasted fabulous and they certainly didn't scrimp with portion sizes. We will definitely be back next year and already looking forward to it

"Wonderful wedding venue"
646jules, 18 Décembre 2017

I recently had my wedding at the Eglinton Arms and the whole day was fabulous. We stayed the night before and the night of the wedding. Everyone who attended commented on how lovely the staff were and how nothing was too much trouble. Carolyn and her team were outstanding and made everything run very smoothly. The preparations and the day itself were so well organised and the meal was excellent. I couldn't fault anything - we and all our guests loved every minute and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as wedding venue. The hotel has such a welcoming atmosphere and the décor is lovely. We went back to stay last weekend in the honeymoon suite which was amazing. We had a delicious meal and were made to feel very welcome. All in all - fantastic staff, fantastic food, fantastic hotel!

"Event"

I attended a Diva Tribute Night, with a large group of ladies from my choir,at The Eglinton Arms on Saturday 2nd December. There were 28 of us. It was a wonderful evening with delicious dinner, great entertainment and fabulous service from all the staff. We all enjoyed ourselves very much and look forward to returning again soon. Great night.

"Diva Party Night"

What a great experience. Staff so helpful, accommodation was excellent. We felt so comfortable and relaxed from the start. The dinner and breakfast were both superb. And able to dance the night away to the great music from the live singer. We will all be back.

"Great hotel"
Maurice F, 03 Décembre 2017

Stayed in the honeymoon suite room was amazing two showers two sinks beautiful big deep Bath decorated to a high standard staff so helpful especially Holly went out her way to make sure we had a great time will definitely be back again

"Outstanding stay"
Martin R, 30 Novembre 2017

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days with 4 other colleagues. I can honestly say that this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff were 1st class, the room I had was spacious with a very comfortable bed but the best overall was the food. The breakfast was very filling with the choices of fresh fruit, cereals, cooked breakfast etc and the evening meals were 2nd to none. There was an extensive menu including haggis, sea bass, mussels, steaks amongst other things. Overall I could not fault my stay at all and even when I had a wait of over 4 hrs or my taxi after checkout the staff provided me with free coffee and biscuits. Thankyou again.

"Lovely "
Belle00, 25 Novembre 2017

We stay local and have never been to the Eglinton Arms and we saw a deal and had babysitters so decided to book. Arrived and the receptionist was really friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and clean especially bathroom. The room however was very small. The shower was fantastic really powerful and stayed the same temperature. The dinner was amazing it's honestly the nicest dinner we have had in ages. Absolutely perfect. The staff at dinner were lovely. We ordered room service for breakfast and it arrived on time piping hot and again was so nice. Had such a lovely night away the only thing was the size of the room. Would definitely return and can't wait to go back to the restaurant. Cannot recommend the food enough !

"'BEST' Western I have stayed in!"
LadyDon, 21 Novembre 2017

Had an overnight stay here whilst working in the area and was so impressed overall that it will now be my hotel of choice when returning in the future! I had only booked a standard room but this was more than satisfactory and had all one would require for an overnight stay - a large and comfy double bed, plenty of sensibly placed sockets for lap-top, mobile phones etc, bedside lamps (beleive it or not this was something missing from the last Best Western we stayed at!) and a clean and well maintained bathroom with lovely, BIG towels! The breakfast the following morning was an absolute delight, the ingredients were of a good quality and standard and the items we ordered were perfectly cooked and served HOT! All staff that we encountered were pleasant, polite and cheerful and the only negative comments I have are that our room was very chilly on arrival (soon warmed up though once the heating was turned on) and the temperature of our shower did not remain at a constant heat, which was a little frustrating. The other frustrating thing I am finding with Best Western overall is there rewards system although I have to point out this is not the fault of the hotel and, to echo the words of Arnie in 'The Terminator' - - - - - - "I'll Be Back"!.

"amazing stay"
hbabe21, 15 Novembre 2017

i wish i had picked up on names as i would have thanked everyone by name. we stayed on sunday evening, the hotel has cleary been recently refurbished and to a very high standard. the same high standards thoughout, ok our room was smallish but it was beutifull and the bed was very comfortable. we stayed on sunday and arrived at 1 pm, we decided to have some lunch, and was given a menu by paul because he heard us say sandwich however we decided to pick a platter that wasnt actually on at that time, but they made it for us anyway and it was amazing and over flowing, and the lamb koftas that they couldnt supply at the time, were brought out with the evening meal. it really did make my husband and i feel very special. every single staff member made us feel very welcome and nothing was any trouble, even at night sitting in the bar the barman and i were disscussing gin and i can recomend the strawbery gin and lemonaid, the evening food was also really good. we have been through eaglesham loads of times and never noticed this wee gem but i am so glad i found it though my hotel break, i am sure we will be back time after time. we have stayed at lots of hotels over the years bu i can honestly say that the staff in here are really special. right down to the most important of them all and thats the house keeping even the early morning wake up call by the fire alarm diddnt blight our stay

"What a night "
Benedict_Schmulian, 15 Novembre 2017

I came to the Eglinton Arms hotel with my 3 friends and had dinner, the staff were very good and the food was amazing but one staff member that stood out to me was Greig I believe his name was. This member of staff stood out to me as he was very friendly and chatty. So thanks to this young man my friends and myself will be returning to the Eglinton Arms hotel soon :)

"its amazing how 1 member of staff can ruin everything"
cross999, 08 Novembre 2017

Firstly I would like to say what this hotel done well. It's a lovely venue and very reasonably priced. The rooms were well maintained and comfortable. Food was lovely. Bar prices were reasonable. the majority of the staff went above and beyond to help out. I would love to say I would reccomend this hotel to others however by the end of my stay I was actually very upset all because of one very rude member of staff. This particular member of staff is obviously in the wrong job and should definitely not be working in customer service. It really is a shame as what could have been a lovely stay was overshadowed by one person. I would only stay here again if I knew for certain this member of staff no longer worked there. If it wasn't for this particular member of staff I would have given this hotel a raiting of excellent however Being spoke to like a piece of dirt on someone's shoe is not my idea of a good time.

"Cosy atmosphere"
anne445smith, 08 Novembre 2017

Stayed on a voucher deal DBB for £39.50pp. Excellent value for money. Room a bit cramped but clean and bed comfortable. Food very good. All staff were friendly and helpful. Would be happy to visit again.

"Golden Wedding Celebration"
Jinty195017, 06 Novembre 2017

My daughter arranged this visit, as a family get together for our anniversary. On arrival we met our waitress for the evening, we had a fantastic time. The food was wonderful, everyone was very friendly. The hotel has been refurbished to a high standard. The staff are on the ball .We were made to feel special throughout our stay, the menu caters for young and old, meat eaters and vegetarians. The bar is well stocked with everyone's favourite tipple. Restrooms are spotless. All in all I would definitely visit again, and recommend it to everyone .

"Superb Hotel"
mousiecefor, 11 Octobre 2017

This is an absolute gem, excellent staff, food, accommodation is a rural setting on the outskirts of Glasgow with excellent trunking routes connecting you to all the main roads. I go out of my way to stay here when in Scotland. Local village has adequate stores catering for all needs plus local restaurants and takeaways. Hotel has ample parking. Breakfast is served early from 6:45am which is ideal for business clients and they also offer an exceptional value early dinner menu running until 6:30pm. Honeymoon suite is second to none!

"Our wedding "
Joanne248, 08 Octobre 2017

Had our wedding here yesterday and it was almost perfect. The staff were amazing, from Carolyn and Holly, to the house keeping staff all wishing me luck to Massimo in reception. Nothing was too much trouble and the day went smoothly. It was the perfect venue for us and the wee touches such as the menu with our first picture as husband and wife, and the surprise champagne in the honeymoon suite made us so happy. There were a couple of blips such as our professional photographs coming back and showing the "wedding Postbox" had the wrong surname on it and there was a few mix ups with the adjoining rooms I had booked for the night before. However over all we are still incredibly happy with our day here and the hotel will forever hold a soft spot for us. We hope to book the stunning honeymoon suite for our first anniversary. A huge thank you to you all, from Mr and Mrs Mcinnes.

""Wow what a lovely Best Western""
DebsInk, 03 Octobre 2017

What a lovely Best Western it was unfortunate we arrived late so couldn't explore the village and it looked to be in a nice setting overlooking a park area. Bedroom was a little small so wouldn't of liked it if staying more than one night! The décor was lovely & very clean with a very good nights sleep. The evening meal was fabulous for all four of us nicely cooked & presented, also the breakfast was freshly cooked & nicely presented. The restaurant & hotel areas are very tastefully decorated & looked very posh! The customer service from all employees very good.

"Jazz night"
NefertariEgypt, 24 Septembre 2017

Husband and I stayed overnight including BB & Dinner and entertainment. Staff were excellent and room was good with a good power shower. We were entertained by a Jazz Band which were really good and met some really nice people. Dinner was delicious. Breakfast was excellent too. Service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

"Nice rest from our vacation before heading back to Canada."
Kermit403, 23 Septembre 2017

After an extended vacation we needed to relax a bit before the "airport blues"set in, and a long flight home started. We initially were in a very small room due to a wedding which was taking place in the hotel. We were moved to a larger room for our second day here, although the small room was quite comfortable as well. The parking area was quite congested on arrival, but we managed to squeeze into a stall. As we entered the lobby with our luggage we were greeted warmly and humourously by a fellow whose name I did not catch, who helped us to our room. This building was a coach in in the 1800's and has been renovated over the years with some very nice upgrades. The beds are comfortable, the showers good and the location perfect. A short drive to Hairmyres station and 25 minutes later you are in Glasgow Central Station. I would give a five for it but for a couple of issues with the room directly above the main entrance to the lobby...this is an area where guests gather to smoke and talk. Fair enough; it is important to have an area for this, however directly below a window is not quite the proper place. Due to the aforementioned wedding, there were a lot of folks gathering here and it got quite loud at times. That coupled with the large amounts of cigarette smoke drifting in required that the window stay closed. Perhaps an assigned area for this further away form the occupied rooms would be more appropriate. Staff are good and friendly as well. This is on our will return to list.

"Never Disappointing"
castlekeeper2015, 22 Septembre 2017

I have visited this hotel's restaurant twice in the last month, and have been a reasonably regular client for many years before that. The food, ambience and service have always been reliably good. From booking to receiving the bill, the staff here were very helpful and pleasant. My only negative, which I feel compelled to mention, is the plates. I am not sure what they are made of but when attempting to collect up every mouthful of my dessert, the spoon on plate sounded similar to chalk/fingernails screeching down a blackboard

"Fantastic hotel real hospitality "
Tim C, 18 Septembre 2017

Spent few nights here while on holiday from Australia and really loved the place genuine Scotish hospitality with lovely decor and staff, spotless and relaxed feel we found ourselves just hanging out in the open plan bar reception having a few drinks and relaxing something I never do in hotels . The food was excellent and great value ,the staff were friendly and professional nothing was a bother thanks guys especially Paul the manager Great hotel even my wife couldn't fault it and she is known as (the hotel inspector) Keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing you all the again

"The Perfect Hotel in Beautiful Eaglesham."
dram54, 16 Septembre 2017

My daughter and I stayed at the Eglinton Arms Hotel for 4 nights in order to visit Family in the village. It was the perfect location, a historic and characterful building, tastefully modernised and decorated, and set in the heart of Eaglesham. We booked a deluxe twin room which was pretty much perfect....... nice décor, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds with good quality pillows and linen and a good, strong shower which was easy to work .Tea/coffee making facilities with the added luxury of lovely Scottish shortbread! The only downside for me was the lack of view from the room as we only had an atrium window on the ceiling above the beds! There was a control panel on the wall to open/close this and to adjust the blinds. Breakfast was just fabulous! What an excellent choice............fresh fruit juices, croissants, dainty Danish pastries, fresh fruits, yogurt and fruit compote for a start........then the offer of white/brown crunchy toast and a choice of marmalade and jams on the table, tea or coffee and your order taken for the Hot Breakfast. I am vegetarian and my daughter is vegan, and we were both impressed with the hot breakfast options. From beginning to end, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The warm atmosphere and lovely décor of the hotel itself, plus the excellent and friendly service from the staff resulted in a memorable trip for us. We definitely intend staying here again on future visits to Eaglesham and would no hesitate in recommending this beautiful hotel.

"Excellent travellers hotel offering all amenities"

Warm atmosphere, clean & comfortable rooms, good value meals and excellent staff. I have stayed at this hotel several times due to its proximity to the airport and the fact it is located in a lovely small town.

"Wedding day of our dreams."
naomi J, 10 Septembre 2017

From start to finish I cannot rate the eg highly enough. From our 1st visit with Carolyn and she was friendly and made us feel special we knew we had chosen the best venue for us. The staff were fantastic the venue was set up exactly as asked and the day ran like clockwork. We had the best day and just want to say a big thank you to Carolyn and all the staff. We could not fault anything.... although our veggie guests did say our choice of pasta main was too spicy for their liking however the steak pie and chicken was a hit! Even the next morning breakfast was fantastic and when I asked for our cake to be cut up so we could hand it out before guests left it was done in minutes. I wish we could do it all over again.....we are already looking forward to our overnight stay on our 1st anniversary and will continue to visit for lunch/dinner. X

"Wonderful Scottish Hospitality"
Robert O, 09 Septembre 2017

My son and I are doing a road trip through Scotland and after an average accomodation in Edinburgh, we found this gem about 30 mins out of Glasgow. The building has an old-world coach house look but the interior has every modern amenity. The room had a superb view over a park, very comfy beds, heating that worked and the best shower with heated towel rails! The restaurant served inexpensive but beautifully presented meals so no need to eat elsewhere. The staff were friendly and attentive providing great service although there was a wedding in house. The noise could not be heard from the rooms which was amazing. Free Wi-Fi was reliable and fast enough for most uses.

"Top notch"
HSBsMIssus, 03 Septembre 2017

Best Western hotels do tend to vary in quality greatly. Happily I found this to be right at the top end. Checking in was easy and very helpful. The room was of a good size and modern throughout. The one and only gripe was the shower which, whilst being powerful, would not get beyond tepid. The cleanliness of the room was very good with a comfortable bed. The breakfast menu wasn't huge but what there is was of very good quality. The hotel restuarant seems popular with non residents which is a testament to the quality of the food. Meals are reasonably priced with a wide (though slightly confusing) menu. The menu includes an early bird menu available up to 6.30pm. Would certainly stay here again.

"Wedding Reception"
grush1982, 28 Août 2017

Our wedding reception was at the Eglinton Arms Hotel 4 weeks ago. Amazing! Carolyn, Paul and staff were outstanding and helped make our special day more than we could ever have dreamed of. The location is stunning and the pictures in the hotel and on the 'Orry' are fabulous. During our wedding planning it was so reassuring to know that there was a team of experts working behind the scenes at the Eglinton Arms to ensure a perfect day was enjoyed by all. We look forward to returning again very soon. Check out this venue, you will not be disappointed. 5 star rating! Many Thanks to you all. Gary & Lorna

"Ideal for a night or two sightseeing base"
Jo G, 27 Août 2017

Location, parking g and access all great. Hotel rooms well paid out and my room was spacious. Breakfast array fabulous. Evening options covered most tastes and budgets. If you arrive late.(after 10pm), there is only one hot offering on the room service menu. A slight hiccup with my room service order, but handled by the team in an appropriate manner. Courteous staff at reception and in the restaurant.

"Overnight stay for a business trip"
Nicolewillz, 27 Août 2017

Whilst looking for a last minute hotel, there was 1 room left here and how lucky I was. Lovely atmosphere throughout the whole hotel, and despite being busy with a wedding there was no compromise on service for other guests. Delightful, comfortable rooms and food of a high quality standard. After checking out I stayed and worked in the lounge for a number of hours and continued to receive an excellent standard of service. Particularly Paul who ensured I had everything I needed. I would recommend to others wishing for somewhere to stay for pleasure or business.

"Week In Hotel"
Jamie F, 24 Août 2017

As someone who uses a wheelchair, great room although doors leading to room may cause issues. Staff made this stay most enjoyable plus nice hotel to get away from hustle and hassle of Glasgow. For wheelchair users, easy to get about hotel and room with good shower (once you and work out how it works) . Easy access to M77 and M74. Great food with good selection and nice breakfast to help start the day.

"Wedding "
lianevan, 14 Août 2017

I can not recommend any higher. Everyone was amazing from start to finish. The place is stunning, so beautiful and spotless. The staff are amazing nothing is too much for them. They helped us a big party of 11 with small kids check in, bring in all the wedding stuff, get it all ready. During the night got me milk for my 3 year old at random o'clock. Helped us move roims while getting hair and make up. Made the reception room so perfect set up amazingly. So helpful with everything. All staff so friendly and kind. Everyone says hello and all staff were so complimentary to all at the wedding. Everyone was made to feel so welcome. Carolyn the manager is amazing, helped me with every question and request. And i asked alot if queations. She was so supportive and understanding. I thank her so so much. Oh the food was incredible. The Eglinton Arms helped make our day even more special and we are so grateful to everyone there. If we have any morw functions/ parties itll b the first place we go. Cant wait to come back for dinner or lunch or to stay. Xxx

"Wedding Anniversary"
katiesc00t, 09 Août 2017

What can I say! Brilliant. Spent our 1st Wedding anniversary at this beautiful hotel on Friday 4th August a year after having our full wedding there. Staff are wonderful, Jose and Gavin in the dining room entertained us well, food was lovely and well presented. Victoria on Reception looked after us well and housekeeping nothing was a problem. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel and surrounding.

"Tribute night"
DougieB49, 01 Août 2017

Stayed here last week for the Kenny Rodgers/ Neil Diamond tribute night. Absolutely brilliant. Arrived late afternoon and had some pre-dinner drinks in the bar. Reception and bar staff were extremely friendly and welcoming . Our room (216) was large, clean, modern and very quirky. No window, which might not suit everyone, but large remote-controlled roof lights with remote-controlled blinds. The food at the meal was delicious, well-presented and served very efficiently. Tribute show was superb as was the following disco. Getting a waiter for drinks was at times a little difficult, but it was a very busy night. Breakfast was good. All in a lovely, well run hotel in a nice rural setting. We would definitely recommend it highly, and look forward to another visit.

"Kenny Rodgers & Neil Diamond tribute night"
User, 23 Juillet 2017

Just had the most perfect birthday weekend at this wonderful hotel. Cannot recommend it enough, small but perfectly formed. Lovely clean room, fantastic attentive staff, beautiful food. Would like to thank Carolyn in particular who managed to squeeze us in to the tribute night at the last minute and came to our table to personally wish me a happy birthday. Leo the night receptionist/barman who very kindly got us one last drink and Paul (the manager I think) who personally took the first part of our breakfast order and came back several times to check everything was ok. In all honesty all of the staff are fantastic, could not be any more helpful or pleasant. The birthday card and chocolates in our room was also a lovely touch. would recommend this hotel to anyone and I cannot wait until our next visit.

"Family wedding"
NicolaCHall, 23 Juillet 2017

Stayed here for a family wedding in the premises. Fully expected the usual run of the mill wedding venue... and we're very ,very, very pleasantly surprised! Tastefully decorated throughout, spotlessly clean room, tasty food and above all excellent, professional, friendly staff. Every single one of them. From housekeeping to duty manager, every one of the staff members couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing but compliments from us for Team Eglinton Arms, keep up the fantastic work!

"Great small Hotel in a nice location with friendly staff"
Bobby B, 21 Juillet 2017

We stayed here for 2 nights recently, nice quiet location in viliage, lovely food with very friendly staff. Rooms on the smaller side, but comfortable and well equipped. Would use this Hotel again if in the area.

"Great Service"
64raymond, 13 Juillet 2017

My Daughter had bought us vouchers for the Eglinton Arms for our Christmas, and decided to use them for a meal with our granddaughter, and booked in advance. We were shown to our table, and given menus and drinks order taken, drinks arrived quickly, and our orders taken, all three main meals were well presented, and freshly cooked, I had the haddock done in bread crumbs and was perfect, the hand cut chips were very taste, although very small portion for price paid, my wife had the half roast chicken and again well cooked, granddaughter meal of Fusilli Pasta with tomato, garlic and carbonara sauce, very tasty, for desserts, the sticky toffee pudding excellent, but the seasonal crumble very disappointing, stewed apples which looked like some kind of granola cereal on top cooked in the microwave, not very nice. overall very nice place for meal, with excellent service.

"People make the difference"
bmH901RC, 09 Juillet 2017

This is a small boutique hotel in the periphery of the city, but as such is quiet, picturesque and without parking problems. This is the third time I have stayed there in 1 year, each time for pleasure not business. The accessibility of major motorways to almost any part of Scotland is a huge plus. The hotel is small but well run and the rooms. while again on the small side, are comfortable and clean. The difference here is the staff. Helpful, friendly, nothing is too much trouble is their mantra. The bar and dining is excellent and really good value. In short this is extremely good value and a pleasant place to stay if you are exploring the area, getting rid of jet lag from the airport, or simply concerned about quality experience with a reasonable price.

"5 Star Service"
Pete-BabsNicol, 03 Juillet 2017

We stayed at this hotel on Saturday 1st July unfortunately just for one night. The hotel itself is small but immaculate. Food is plentiful and hot with good choices. When we were there the restaurant was full which is always a good sign. Our room had been upgraded by the hotel and we were allocated Room 31 (for those that have stayed at the hotel and the staff they will know what a stunning room this is). I cannot point out any particular staff because they are ALL attentive and this is the sign of an excellent hotel. Congratulations to all staff and the management for attentiveness to their guests. We will definitely return. Pete & Babs Nicol

"Close to Glasgow but quiet."
Muirtty, 29 Juin 2017

A hotel in the village of Eaglesham on the outskirts of Glasgow. It is also within easy access to East Kilbride. The food is of good quality with traditional Scottish breakfast. The beds were comfortable. Small hotel but a good range of services.

"Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings"
J M, 25 Juin 2017

We stayed at the hotel for a week while visiting friends and relations in Glasgow. All rooms are on the first floor; there is a (slow!) wheelchair lift for those that need it but the stairs are manageable even for those of us with knee problems! The rooms are clean and very comfortable with plenty of storage space, windows that open, up-to-date TV and free Wi-Fi. Bathroom was small but masses of hot water and spotlessly clean. We were surprised that towels were changed daily - and occasionally a little hit and miss with the number of hand towels. Perhaps management could consider going a little greener and allowing guests to decide when they should be changed...or even every 3rd day would be good. The restaurant was very good. There was one malfunction on one evening (we ate in every night) but reparations were swift and with gracious apologies and service - thank you, Jose. It's also the first place I've seen with "naked" fish and chips. For those of us with more delicate digestive systems, that is fantastic...after all, who doesn't love the nation's takeaway now and again! Every single member of staff, from Victoria who welcomed us at reception (a nice low desk rather than an impersonal counter) to Jose in the dining room, Bailey on bar duty and all their colleagues, was friendly and ready to give advice on anything from village history to the price of a bus ticket. This very pretty hotel is also in a lovely conservation village. It takes about 2 hours to do the whole 'A', with a quick peep at the hidden St Brigid's Church, the Covenanters' Memorial, etc. and of course all the lovely cottages. The village itself has an excellent bus service (every half hour) into Glasgow, which takes about 45 minutes and is just £2.20 for a single ticket. You can park for barely an hour for that price, to say nothing of fighting for spaces if you drive in. Talking of cars, there is a good car park although, if there is a wedding on, you may have to park on the road but it's perfectly safe. There are also 2 electrical points opposite the hotel for electric/hybrid cars.

"Eglinton Arms Hotel"
Tom B, 24 Juin 2017

I stayed here with wife in a inclusive deal of Dinner, Abba tribute show, bed and breakfast. Although I only stay 2 1/2 miles from hotel, decided that as my son and his partner were attending also, would have a drink and not worry about taxis etc. We ere booked in very quickly and given a room on the first floor, which was very spacious, and modern. We particularly like the velux windows above the bed, which could be opened and blinds pulled over remotely. We were shown into a pre-dinner bar with other attendees, very nice atmosphere, we were then showed to our table which had been drawn up like a wedding seating plan. The meal was better than basic, but consisted of homemade tomato & basil soup, chicken and gravy with broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes. Finished off with a Summer Fruit cheesecake with coffee and tablet. The Abba Tribute was very good, and were ably backed up by the resident DJ in-between. Had a full Scottish Breakfast, but there was a very good choice. Breakfast was superb. Staff throughout were very good, managed very well by the management team who were visible throughout and assisted their staff when necessary. I have used the restaurant on many an occasion but this type of inclusive deal I will try again. Only downside of the whole event is the price of drink, which is about a £1 dearer than nearby establishments, but giving the type of deal, I expected to pay a bit dearer.

"Very Accommodating!"
s-beach01, 21 Juin 2017

We stayed here numerous times in June and the staff was always very friendly and eager to assist us with anything anything we needed! The rooms were always very clean and comfortable! Look forward to staying here again!

"Pleasant and relaxing."
Crips, 18 Juin 2017

My wife and I stayed one night mid week and were really impressed with the service and quality of food. Lovely staff and all servers were attentive and happy to provide whatever we requested. Dinner menu very varied with a well balanced choice of dishes. Tempura prawns were possibly the nicest we have had in many a restaurant. Breakfast was very nice, again a helpful and happy server - nothing too much trouble, just need to ensure that plates are quickly cleared between courses. Although in a completely different overall hotel market the breakfast we had was times more enjoyable than the one we were presented with in a recent stay in Gleneagles Hotel! The gentleman in charge of the eating areas is very good and ensured that everyone was being looked after, even with our table of eleven he ensured that all the other diners were being given similar attention - sorry that I didn't catch his name as he is well worth a mention. Overall we remember our stay with a great deal of pleasure and would hope to return for another visit - next time we would chose a room with windows in the walls rather than the large roof windows, which we didn't really like.

"Very good hotel"
PLEEWELS, 14 Juin 2017

We stayed here in early June to celebrate a Birthday and chose this hotel based on price and good Tripadvisor reviews. Check-in was swift and friendly, the bedroom (all be it not to my taste), seemed modern, clean and spacious and overlooked the green. We were a little worried as they were setting up for a summer fair on the Friday, but this did not effect us. Breakfast was ok, although I thought the cold selection was limited compared to other Best Western hotels I have stayed at and maybe the staff could have been a little more friendly. That said, overall our stay was very good and we would highly recommend this hotel.

"Best Customer service"
Adrian P, 12 Juin 2017

The staff are a credit to the Hotel from reception to bar and restaurant staff. Apart from a wait to get the shower hot - but it is an old building - I could not fault my stay. Food very good as well. Would recommend to any one. Just misses a outside area to sit.

"Brilliant hotel"
Riverblue, 08 Juin 2017

A lovely hotel just outside of Glasgow. Set in a small village and in a good central location for the west of Scotland. Hotel has a very friendly and fantastic pub connected to the hotel. Staff and regulars are very welcoming. Hotel rooms are stylishly decorated and very clean and functional. Restaurant is good but could be better, however, Breakfast is very good, cooked individually and lots of choice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel has ample free parking, village has a very decent chinese restaurant 5 minutes away. All in all a great choice for a base if visiting the region.

"A Saturday visit to Glasgow requiring an overnight, and we did choose well."
936dougb, 24 Mai 2017

We made this visit back in January but never got round to making a post which was a bit remiss as the hotel deserved the praise. The hotel is well located just south of Glasgow in a relatively quiet village. The whole hotel was very nicely decorated, furnished and upkeep was excellent. Staff throughout the hotel were excellent, friendly and extremely helpful. Customer service was not an ad hoc phrase they had learnt, they put it into practice. The room was a reasonable size, clean, very comfortable, and had everything we required. The en-suite bathroom was also good, a decent shower with plenty of hot water. A bonus was the traditional pub which is part of the hotel, however you do have to go outside and walk round the corner to get to the bar. Small price to pay for some decent beer, and football on the TV much to my wife's disgust. We ate in the restaurant that evening which offered a nice variety on the menu. The ambience through the bar and restaurant areas was very pleasant and the whole meal was excellent, very nicely cooked, we had steak and fish between us for the mains. Service was very friendly and attentive without being in your face, and we had an extremely nice evening. A good range on the breakfast menu, again the food was excellent, and the environment allowed a nice casual start to the day. First class, highly recommended and would definitely stay again.

"Our first visit to Glasgow!"
kyriak0s80, 22 Mai 2017

Our group of five (two couples and our 4 year old boy) visited our dear friends living in Eaglesham and were delighted to spend three nights at this fine establishment, early this May. We were quite lucky and enjoyed four days of sunny weather, and our toddler took full advantage of the childrens' park just across the street. Our rooms were spotless and very well decorated. And how about that, at night we could actually stargaze through our roof windows! And each morning we tried a different take on Scottish breakfast at the restaurant. The full Scottish breakfast (with back pudding, bacon, mushrooms and all) was my and my brother's favourite. The staff were very warm and friendly both at the restaurant and at the front desk, providing useful information on local sites to visit, either close by (e.g. Whitelee Windfarm or Rouken Glen Park) or at downtown Glasgow, and there was always a smiling face to greet us when we returned from our local (or not so local) trips. Overall a wonderful experience we would all recommend and hope to have again sometime!

"Warm welcome and first class service"
Anthony F, 17 Mai 2017

Since finding the Eglington Arms, I use it whenever I need to travel and stay over in Glasgow. I and my fellow directors find it a great place unwind after our quarterly review meetings. Poached eggs at breakfast are superb and dinner menu is varied and interesting.

"Great Hotel / Restaurant "
IanLightbody, 16 Mai 2017

This is a gem of a hotel and would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting the vicinity! We have attended many functions there and eaten regularly within the hotel restaurant. The standard is extremely high. We always book our visiting friends into "The Egg" which is basically a high class boutique hotel in our beautiful conservation village!

"Wedding Stop Over"
SkyeGO, 11 Mai 2017

We didn't spend much time in the hotel to be honest but that doesn't mean we didn't enjoy our stay which we definitely did. We checked in late a night after weeding reception which was a very slick and efficient service by the night porter who was very friendly indeed. We then quickly dumped the cases in the room which to our surprise was very nice and well appointed. Modern bathroom and everything you would expect.....but more so it was absolutely spotless in bathroom and bedroom - big plus for my Wife! The bed was also incredibly comfy which my wife agreed - 2nd big plus! Went to the bar for a nightcap and was again served by a young chap who was very accommodating. The breakfast was fantastic and had a great choice on offer which did the job! Apologies if I am wrong but this hotel was listed I think as a 3 Star property which really doesn't do it justice. The service and standards on offer are well above many 4 Star properties that I have used so I must congratulate the management team and staff. I would definitely recommend staying here again.

"Weekend away. Sheer luxury."
scottish_guy, 07 Mai 2017

Excellent hotel. Have been before and will certainly visit again. Warm, friendly and clean. Cannot fault this hotel at all. Great breakfast choices and friendly staff. The manager himself offered to carry our bags upstairs and said hello at breakfast. Other best westerns would do well to follow this shining example. Hotel handy 15 mins from glasgow centre. Car parking available on site too. 5 stars well deserved.

"Did not stay here but had dinner in the restaurant"
RITA M, 02 Mai 2017

A quiet evening, when the restaurant was almost empty.Very good food, reasonably priced. I had the prawn cocktail and the salmon special and my cousin had the soup of the day and the chicken pie. Everything was delicious and served piping hot. If ever I am close by again I will definitely eat here again.

"Can't fault it"
Tattie2222, 01 Mai 2017

Stayed here for 3 nights. Staff most helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable with everything you could ask for. Breakfast tasty and cooked to order, no buffet here! Dinner at night was excellent and again the staff were helpful and friendly even down to a complimentary glass of Port each to go with our cheers & biscuits. Couldn't fault.

"Just Perfect"
TrishaScotlandUK, 01 Mai 2017

We stayed here on Sunday 30 April for an overnight. It was our first time and everything was perfect. Room was lovely and clean, evening meal and breakfast was fab. All the staff we met from checking in to checking out were a credit to the hotel. Just a lovely, peaceful, well managed place to stay.

"Very enjoyable stay"
Underlands, 29 Avril 2017

Can't fault. Good welcome and well appointed room with all the facilities you would want. Clean bathroom with excellent shower. Full Scottish breakfast came well cooked on a very hot plate. All told, I had a very enjoyable stay.

"beautiful hotel, excellent staff and food, accommodation"
Megrob2017, 24 Avril 2017

We had a special celebration for my Dads 90th birthday at the hotel on 23rd April 2017. We cannot praise the hotel or staff enough for their attention to detail and professionalism. My dad is still talking about his evening and was made to feel very special by all members of staff- special mention to Paul, deputy manager and Megan who went out of their way to make everything perfect for us. We also had family friends staying overnight at the hotel who were very impressed with their comfortable quiet room and the facilities at the hotel. To summarise, we would like to thank all staff involved and would highly recommend this venue for whatever occasion! 5+ stars!!!!!

"Lovely "
simongrovepark, 20 Avril 2017

Have been staying here over ten years. Always superb and great staff. See you next year! The Haggis is well worth a try with breakfast. Very comfortable rooms and a very nice part of Scotland within easy reach of Glasgow and East Kilbride.

we have stayed at this hotel a few times now, we love the peacefulness we can get here, the food is always spot on and breakfast is lovely, the service is always very professional and friendly, we will defo be back soon, a special thanks to Massimo and Paul for their excellent service.

"Excellent in Every Way"
James M, 17 Avril 2017

We stayed at the Eglinton this Easter and were delighted with our visit. We were warmly welcomed by reception when we arrived and our room (room 30) was spacious and yet cosy with a lovely window seat which made it wonderfully relaxing. We had a fantastic meal in the restaurant in a quiet booth and we were also impressed with breakfast the next day. The combination of attentive staff, great food and the relaxing atmosphere made this an excellent stay. We will be getting married at the Eglinton Arms in July and our stay this weekend has just reaffirmed that we couldn't have picked a better venue for our special day.

"5 Star :-)"
Valerie S, 17 Avril 2017

This is our 3rd visit to the Eglinton Arms and once again I have been incredibly impressed. Everything was perfect from check in to check out. The staff are amazing, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant on 2 occasions during our stay and I was very impressed with the food and the service. My only criticism (although not the hotels fault) was the table of loud obnoxious people who spoiled the evening with their need to shout instead of talking to each other! That aside we had a lovely 3 days and looking forward to our next visit.

"Perfect Day, Perfect staff"
Christopher C, 11 Avril 2017

My wife and I decided to book the Eglington Arms for our wedding venue after a discussion with Carolyn, after the big day and on reflection we could not have picked a better venue to hold both our ceremony and reception. The event team on the day of Paul and Megan were flawless and provided excellent customer service looking after all of our guests and exceeding our expectations. Even when my young niece of two took ill before the meal Paul ensured that my Brother-in-Law didn't miss out sending his meal to his room and even later on sending some toast up for my niece to ensure she ate something. All the staff have brilliant customer service skills but Paul and Megan deserve a special recognition as they went above and beyond what am sure is expected of them, the management team should be extremely proud and count themselves very lucky to have two members of staff dedicated to their jobs. The food was excellent and was very much enjoyed by everyone and the rooms were lovely especially the Honeymoon sweet which is beautiful. We cannot thank the staff at the Eglington Arms enough for ensuring our big day went without a glitch and cannot recommend them more for your big day.

"Always good"
jaco2014, 09 Avril 2017

Stayed here many times and cannot fault the place. It's a real home from home. Quiet, friendly, everything you need. Walks and local shops nearby. All the staff are so helpful. I come up here regularly to visit elderly relatives and this place is always a haven for me at the end of a busy day.

"An excellent stay"
Adrian P, 08 Avril 2017

Absolutely nothing to fault. Booked this hotel on a recommendation from a colleague for a 1 night stay in Glasgow. I did not believe them on the quality of the hotel. But please rest assured the hotel really is excellent.

"Pleasant stay"
Yamas, 04 Avril 2017

2nd stay at this hotel. In a nice quiet location about 20 mins from Glasgow. Very nice rooms, good food especially the full Scottish breakfast. Wifi is ok for work and brilliant shower. Will stop again when in the area.

"Fabulous 70th birthday party!"
randr2017, 03 Avril 2017

Thank you for your wonderful organisation for my party yesterday. Everything we had discussed was done exactly and the room looked lovely when we arrived. We had a great evening and I thoroughly enjoyed my 70th. The bar room was perfect for our 28 guests and very private. The waitresses and bar 'girl' were superb and very attentive. The food was wonderful - especially the goats cheese - and several guests commented on the quality of their meal and how much they had enjoyed being back at the Eglinton Arms and would be returning. All my thanks to you all those invovled and especially Chef and the kitchen staff. It's not often I can say something was perfect - but last night was!

"Dinner dance"

Had a fantastic dinner dance with approximately 70 attending. Every detail was perfect. Only wished that we had booked for the night. Thanks to all the staff. Extremely efficient and friendly. Tom & Fi

Stayed for 2 nights for a family wedding, which was held here. Clean and well equipped rooms. Great breakfast, excellent choice and cooked to order. Wedding meal was delicious too. But the it was the staff that made the stay great. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Great service. Thanks.

"Friends Wedding Weekend"
MrsPaulaT, 13 Novembre 2016

We stayed for 2 nights for a friends and wedding. The hotel is a lovely mix of traditional and modern. Our room was lovely and clean, nice size and a brilliant rate £80 per night with full Scottish Breakfast for 2 of us. We had a meal on the Fri night in the bar which was excellent especially as we were a party of 10 and another party of 24 were in too. Service was good, food and drink were excellent. The wedding on the Sat was perfect with our needs catered for. We laughed, we sang and we danced. My only criticism of this hotel was 3 times I was stopped from walking from 1 bar to another once by 3 members of staff forming a sort of barricade. They may have thought they were being attentive but I found it quite aggressive and off putting to be challenged especially as 1 point I had nipped to the ladies and was returning for my coke with my husband.

"A home from home"
User, 07 Novembre 2016

What can I say about this quaint little hotel we stayed here for 9 days and have to say this has been our favourite hotel ever. The staff were excellent, the food was fantastic and the service was second to none. We were made feel part of the furniture. We will definitely be returning to this hotel, miss our wee Eaglesham family xx

"Broken sleep"
Stephen W, 06 Novembre 2016

I haven't stayed here for over a year but the hotel I wanted was fully booked. I had requested a quiet room and even asked at check in if the room was quiet and was told it should be but on entering you could hear the kitchen extractors, however I thought they would go off after the kitchens closed, but during the night I was woken by the sound of some equipment, possibly a freezer, going on and off, the second night I slept with earplugs. Dinner I both nights was good, steak the first and monkfish the second. Breakfast on the first morning was smoked poached haddock but it was a small piece of tough haddock, most disappointing, the second day scrambled egg and smoked salmon, excellent. Although I had booked a third night, two nights of broken sleep made me decide to leave early. I have stopped here on a number of occasions and quite like the hotel but not being being able to sleep, which is the reason I haven't stayed here for over a year as last time I had similar problems, does not encourage me to return.

"Great hotel, good value and a terrific full English breakfast"
StevenDownie, 01 Novembre 2016

Very clean room, tea and coffee and biscuits in room, nice free toiletries shower gel, shampoo and soap. Very comfortable bed and reasonable TV package The staff were very pleasant and a nice clean bar area, prices were reasonable and will stay here when back in the area. Try to get a room with a full window as back rooms have sky light window which is a bit dull in the summer. Also ate in the restaurant and food was great, breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice and cooked to order

"birthday party"
Deborah K, 31 Octobre 2016

absolutely fantastic evening at the hotel. guests stayed over and could not speak highly enough of the cleanliness of the rooms and the kindness and helpfulness of the staff in the hotel. On the evening of the party, the bar staff were very attentive with Management team highly visible to all to ensure everything went well on the night. The buffet was excellent and the kitchen staff were very accommodating to all our requests for our guests.

"Appalling food ! Terrible service."
PocketReviewer, 28 Octobre 2016

My parents had lunch here on Wednesday and it was truly terrible. My Dad's soup was cold and the sandwiches wet and limp. My Mum's chicken pie - the chicken was hard, the vegetables like something out of a packet and the chips burnt and soggy (quite an achievement) Truly terrible - an experience not to be repeated.

"One of the friendliest Hotels"
Martin H, 24 Octobre 2016

Never used Best Western before- I hope all the other Best Western hotels practice the clean, well arranged rooms- excellent food and friendly spirit that Eglinton Arms demonstrated:) I used the hotel for business but am tempted to bring my good lady as the atmosphere was so relaxing.

"Wedding reception "
Glasgow-hb, 18 Octobre 2016

As the Eglinton Arms is the focal point of the village of Eaglesham - an area that we love, it was our first choice of venue for our wedding. We love the atmosphere in the hotel and are frequent diners there and have always enjoyed our experience so it was an easy decision for us to choose this hotel for our special day. The set up for a wedding was exactly what we were looking for with an atmospheric banqueting suite leading into our own private bar. We were lucky enough to be married in the Earls Court marriage suite which is full of character. The food was excellent with a wide choice of menu to cater for every taste and amazingly even though they were catering for 80 guests, the quality was to the usual high standard which was commented on by many of our guests. Carolyn could not be more helpful in the run up to the wedding and was always happy to meet up to discuss the finer details of the arrangements and was extremely helpful in moulding the package to meet our specific requirements - nothing seemed too much trouble. Our man on the day was Barry and he was absolutely brilliant keeping everything together for us. It went like clockwork and he mixed really well with our guests who all enjoyed the craik with him. Obviously a special mention to Carolyn and Barry but all the staff on the day were great and the service was first class. Some real thought has gone in to making this hotel an ideal location for a wedding and we both feel they have got it absolutely right and would recommend the Eglinton Arms to anyone as a wedding venue.

"Birthday Lunch"
l55mcd, 15 Octobre 2016

Delightful Birthday Lunch with my family. An excellent menu with something for everyone. Loved the Creme brûlée. Beautiful surroundings, the staff were attentive without being intrusive . We will most certainly be back.

"Excellent food at the Eglinton Arms"
Kenneth M, 15 Octobre 2016

We visited the hotel for dinner and were made to feel very welcome from the friendly staff. The food was excellent. The Angus steak pie is the best I've tasted. So lucky to have such a great hotel in Eaglesham.

"Always a pleasure"
hazyjane01, 14 Octobre 2016

I've stayed at this hotel many times will working up in the area and it never disappoints. Upon arrival I was met by an extremely friendly, cheery receptionist who was happy to deal with any requirements for dinner etc. Due to booking late I was only able to get a single room but the room was impeccably clean and extremely comfortable. I'd have no qualms about staying here again as the building is beautiful, the stay comfortable and the setting perfect. Many thanks.

"Excellent Hotel"
Margaret E, 12 Octobre 2016

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past few years and have always been made to feel very welcome. All the staff are very courteous and friendly. The rooms are quite large (even the single rooms) with everything a traveller might need. The breakfast menu is excellent.

"Brilliant"
Simon M, 12 Octobre 2016

Excellent as always you can's fault this hotel and its staff. the food is good although the menu doesn't change a great deal. Breakfast has a good selection. Location to Glasgow good only 20 min commute

"Morning coffee"
GoldenGlasgow, 11 Octobre 2016

My friend and I went in to the hotel last week .We sat down in the bar and were ignored by the guy at the bar.I had to go up and call on someone to serve us.The guy came over and we ordered coffee and scones. We were then told there were no scones or cakes in the hotel. We felt that we were an inconvenience and left.Very poor service.

"Fantastic Hotel"
Garry S, 16 Septembre 2016

We had my wife's 40th here and had a great time. The rooms and food are great and worthy of a 4 star. I stay away with work a lot and this hotel is very rarely beaten by many a 4 star hotel. Book this hotel for a great night away. The village is very quiet with a Chinese restaurant in it, with a regular bus service into Glasgow. You are also only 20 mins into Glasgow from here as close to a main motorway junction. Taxi will be circa £25.

"Christening Party"
SilvestroPetrasancta, 15 Septembre 2016

We had my grand-daughter's post-Christening Party there on Sunday. We began with Prosecco and then had a sumpuous afternoon tea for 24 people. Food, staff and surroundings were first class. Many thanks.

"Excellent hotel - beautifully decorated with impeccable service"
Jacky M, 12 Septembre 2016

We stayed for three nights in a superior twin room. Our reception on arrival was excellent. Our room and bathroom were very tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. The bathroom had a wonderful shower - once I had worked out how to turn it on! The restaurant was also very stylish and the food and service were excellent. The menu was varied but not too large. We ate breakfast and dinner there all three days, and also met with some family members for lunch on the middle day. We particularly enjoyed the Cullen Skink and the Smoked Chicken salad as starters. I had a nightly special on our last night - Aromatic Spiced Monkfish Tail with braised puy lentils, citrus dressing and crisps pancetta with sautéed beans - delicious. There is also a bar where you can also eat if you want to be more casual. There was also adequate on-site car parking. The village is also nice if you fancy a walk. I highly recommend this hotel.

"Good Choice"
18MichaelAC11, 10 Septembre 2016

Wanted a overnight stay on our way further north and also wanted to feel our holiday had started. This hotel fit the bill,a very warm welcome and this continued when we went for dinner. Our room was excellent very well furnished to a high standard and the bathroom provided one of the best showers I have had. Both dinner and breakfast were very tasty with good choice. Our holiday had got off to a great start.

"Great quality hotel"
Anthony S, 10 Septembre 2016

This is a very nice hotel and quite good value for money. Everything in the room worked fine, and furniture and fittings are high quality. Staff very friendly and helpful. No problems at all. Very nice breakfast.

"Great venue, friendly staff, top quality accommodation."
CrazyUncleTerry, 07 Septembre 2016

I attended a wedding here recently and had a wonderful time. From check-in to check-out I could not fault the Eglinton Arms. The reception area was quite informal and the staff were professional and friendly. The room was comfortable and modern with an en-suite I would be happy to have in my home. The restaurant, though having a small menu, produced excellent food on every course. We also enjoyed breakfast the following morning which was first class, arguably the best breakfast experience away from home. It was hot, fresh and very tasty. I would recommend this place for a short break, business accommodation, for dinner or just for breakfast. It is reasonably priced in a quiet location but easy to get to from the main arteries and surrounding conurbations.

"Old Memories"
Alan A, 06 Septembre 2016

Returning to this establishment 50 years later was an astonishing occasion! The pub as I knew it has been transformed into a cosy hotel with an excellent restaurant. The bedroom we had, whilst small, was adequate for our needs. The drawbacks being, no view as the only light came from a Velux window in the roof and the TV affixed to the wall adjacent to ones neighbour. We were asked (politely) to turn down the volume at 9.15pm. It was already on a low setting so we had switch it off, never to be used again!!! Who on earth thought of fixing a TV to that wall must have had a brain storm! Other than that incident, a very pleasant stay.

"We had booked 'The Egg' for a get together 'purvey' after my fathers funeral."
duncanstang1, 05 Septembre 2016

Everything ran like absolute clockwork, from the booking to the fantastic service and dafternoon tea. Special thanks must be given to 'Kathy' one of the waitresses, who on a difficult day, was very friendly, efficient and brought a smile to my face.

"Excellent"

Lovely hotel, would highly recommend for anyone on business or pleasure. Nice scenery and the hotel itself is in very good conditions. Rooms are nice and clean Great food, great service local shop for all your commodities. Good access to motorway

"Wedding Magic"
katiesc00t, 29 Août 2016

Three weeks have passed since our fantasic Wedding on Friday 5th Aug 2016. Beautiful hotel, rooms, food, staff, location and just a wonderful place to have a wedding. From the very start of arranging our wedding, Carolyn, Barry, Angela, Frances and all other staff made our visits very welcoming. Nothing was any trouble. All our guests were so impressed with the hotel many said they would love to come back, even our Kiwi family. Would highly recommend dinner and overnight stay. Well be back ????

"Still excellent"
Pat A, 29 Août 2016

Returned here, 3 years since our last visit, expecting a good meal and very comfortable night. We were not disappointed; indeed, the friendly and efficient service was even better than our previous visit. Well appointed, quiet room (despite the hotel hosting a wedding reception we were not disturbed). Excellent food (I enjoyed a superb tagine - highly recommended) and very helpful staff. We only stayed one night but arrived early enough for a walk round the attractive and interesting village - get a leaflet from reception; its well worth the walk.

"Disappointed"
arti_8, 27 Août 2016

Just had a meal with 8 friends here. Food was fine/ average but the service was so slow. Had visited in May and service was also slow but not as bad as today. There was a wedding in the hotel and this may have affected the service. As the meal was a treat for friends I did not make a fuss but informed the staff member when I paid. I was surprised that there had been no apology for the poor service at the end of the meal and none before we left. The hotel itself is lovely but given the slow service I would probably think twice before returning.

"Decent Bar that serves Fish & Chips"
Skottlandi, 27 Août 2016

The rear bar is a nice place to sit have a drink and a bar meal. There is a decent selection of dishes and the fish and chips are good. Service is prompt and attentive. There is a car park. There is a good range of beers available.

"Mr "
Andrew C, 25 Août 2016

Excellent staff especially Cathy in restaurant reception staff helpful and bar staff friendly well worth a visit will definitely return and recommend it to others situated in a beautiful village setting

"Very pleasent hotel"
RAYKAV, 24 Août 2016

Due to a mistake on my part, I booked the wrong dates, I arrived a day early and unfortunately there was accommodation available. The reception staff exceeded their duty and spent over half an hour on the phone and found me a bed for the night. I returned the following day and took my allocated room. The room was modern, comfortable and clean. The only downside was that a wedding party were celebrating that evening and the disco was noisy until 11.30. I understand that people will celebrate and it was just unfortunate that as I had an early start and went to bed early. otherwise there would be no problem.

"Decent food but..."
Colin W, 23 Août 2016

Reasonable menu and good service, but quite pricy. Not very big portions so £120 for meals for 4 with a soft drink seemed a bit expensive to me. Would probably go again, but only for a special occasion.

"The Elington Arms experience"
paulmW8050OF, 22 Août 2016

The hotel is easy to find, in a nice village setting with good access to Glasgow and outlying areas. The reception is nicely laid out and staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms are comfortable (but not large) all relevant facilities are available. Evening meal and breakfast were enjoyable and service was good

"Rural setting close to Glasgow"
John and Anne D, 16 Août 2016

We had business in Glasgow on a Friday so booked into this hotel because of its convenient location. We decided to stay until the Sunday, thereby giving ourselves a mini break. We are so glad we did. Eaglesham is a delightfully rural place with lovely walks and handy for not only Glasgow but also trips to places of interest. The bedroom was spotless, as was the bathroom The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Lunch "
Brian K, 13 Août 2016

Popped in here for a quick bite to eat and we were glad that we did . The service was good , nice and friendly .. We were only after something quick and easy and soup and a sandwich filled the bill .. The prices were reasonable and we will come back on another occasion to give the evening menu a try ..

"We had a fabulous wedding thank you Carolyn and the team."
Joanne F, 08 Août 2016

We got married here at the Eglinton Arms hotel on Friday 20th May 2016 and had a fabulous day. I must say the wedding packages and prices are excellent for such a beautiful modern hotel and we would recommend you guys to anyone looking for a wedding venue. The hotel is lovely and we really liked it from the minute we first visited. We love the country feeling to the place even though its just outside East Kilbride and 30 minutes from Glasgow. The new ceremony room was the icing on the cake for us and we loved getting married here. The main room for the meal/ evening reception was very nice also and the honeymoon suite was fabulous. Having the ceremony room separate from the main room was great as we did not feel we had been stuck in the one area all day. Carolyn is fabulous and a complete asset to the hotel. The day went without a single problem and all our guests also commented on how good the day way. Carolyn works extremely hard and we saw you personally keeping a close eye on things right till the end. The food for our wedding meal was fabulous and I couldn't fault a thing- well done to the chef. Everyone was stuffed and commented on both the quality and quantity of the meal. Only area for improvement is Barry as myself and a few guests did not appreciate his tone or manor. Thanks again for a fabulous day.

"Superb"
Shaun K, 06 Août 2016

Only stayed here for two nights, the room was spot on and the breakfast very good. The staff were very attentive and helpful too. Would definitely try to be booked in here again if working anywhere near enough .

"Pretty good"
De-novo, 02 Août 2016

A pleasant, cosy, not too large, not too small dining room on two levels. Friendly helpful service. An a-la-carte menu to suit most tastes, a lunch and dinner menu, separate chef's specials menu and a children's menu. The house wines are excellent and the food is well presented. One of our group opted for the steak and frits. The steak (a minute steak - and nothing wrong with that) had been cooked to a cinder! everything else was fine, but the steak should never have left the kitchen. Worth a visit.

"Room 18 avoid at all times"
bigjules, 30 Juillet 2016

This room has no windows only roof velux openings. The extractor fan from the kitchens blows directly into the roof windows with debris and cooking smells into the room #Horrendous I'm informed by reception the extractor is turned off at 10pm. The room is stuffy and would benefit from some fresh air.

"Family wedding "
vincentburns, 30 Juillet 2016

We stayed for 2nights midweek for a family wedding.all of the staff we met were very helpful and professional.thoroughly enjoyed the freshly prepared scottish breakfast which was served at the table, a pleasant change from buffet served in other hotels. pastries were a welcome extra also.the meal served at the wedding reception was up there with the best that i have had in any hotel.obviously prepared with great pride. perfectly cooked and presented.worth a visit for the food alone.

"Eglinton Eaglesham "
rmsheerins, 25 Juillet 2016

One night stay at this local. The room was small but well appointed. Very poor soundproofing from the room next door. The food was nice and the staff very pleasant and helpful, especially Kathy in the restaurant. Gold star Kathy!

"Fantastic!"
pulidogs, 22 Juillet 2016

We stayed here on a poignant trip to my homeland. In fact I worked in this hotel in 1971. It has been extended and altered since then and WOW ! Beautiful decor, very friendly staff and delicious food. We went from here to Cameron House and I can honestly say ' The Egg ' is streets ahead in comfort and service. Thank you x

"first time visit"
Bengra2014, 18 Juillet 2016

Booked lunch for four on Sunday. Was impressed by sample menu and previous customer reviews. Lovely setting, good service, lovely food with ample portions.Good value. Could become a regular lunch venue for us.

"Top Quality with a WOW factor!"
Reacher33, 06 Juillet 2016

This is a wonderful hotel and the best, Best Western we have ever stayed at. We stayed for one night and decided to treat ourselves by booking the Honeymoon Suite (Room 31); we were absolutely delighted with our choice. This is a fantastic large, sumptuous room, beautifully appointed with the WOW factor. It has everything you could possibly need and we really wished we had booked to stay longer. The staff are really friendly, helpful and attentive; nothing was too much trouble and the owner of this establishment should be proud of them. We had a sandwich lunch, evening meal and a full Scottish Breakfast and all our food was delicious. They really do have a good chef and kitchen staff. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and probably will!

"A sky view from the bed."
JulieMIreland, 29 Juin 2016

The Eglington Arms Hotel is in a nice quiet area but has quite a small carpark. I booked it because we wanted to be near to Glasgow but not in it so we could visit places my Husband knew when he was stationed nearby in his Navy days. There was a wedding party taking place when we arrived but we never heard any noise when we settled down for the night which was good as I am quite a light sleeper. On arrival I asked for a newspaper for each of the three days we were staying but only got the one on the sunday . The staff are friendly and helpful and give service with a smile. Our room had a large shower but no bath and we had no view out but velux windows above the bed with blinds which opened using buttons on the table which we were glad of because there is no air conditioning although a fan was provided and during the day it was 24 degrees. The decor was quite dark but the bed was comfortable. Not a bad choice for my first visit to Scotland.

"Fantastic place, from entering front door, to leaving days later."
stevehughes6, 29 Juin 2016

Can highly recommend this hotel, staff very, very helpful and efficient. The rooms are sumptuous, and the food cannot be beaten. This probably one of the best hotels in GB., that I have ever stayed in. I cannot see me ever actually needing to visit this area again, but will look for any excuse to stay again. Very impressed all round.

"A pleasant surprise!"
douglasdrummond, 27 Juin 2016

Having had quite a varied experience of 'Best Western' - both in UK and USA - this was most definitely one of their best, with a lovely location adjacent to the village green. Well appointed, comfortable bar and restaurant, friendly efficient staff and good reasonably priced food. Our friends who we were visiting, were upgraded to the honeymoon suite which was exceptional!

"Slightly out of my way but worth it."
Al M, 22 Juin 2016

I have stayed here before and have fond memories of the place so I decided to revisit. The hotel has not disappointed rooms spotless and well decorated in my opinion. I did not sample the restaurant on this visit but in the past it has been excellent. Breakfast staff are attentive not in intrusive the full Scottish well worth a try.

"Fantastic hotel"
Mark C, 22 Juin 2016

One of the better hotels I have stayed in. The rooms are a good size, the hot water for the showers and baths abundant. The rooms very clean and tidy and modern. They offer a good breakfast and a full menu for food. The bar and service us really good all round.

"My overall experience"
conniebest, 22 Juin 2016

My friend and I spent the first 3 nights and the last night of our trip here. It was the best customer service experience I have every had. I work in the customer service industry and we could all learn a lot from the staff at this hotel. Thank you Ailsa, Massimo, Barry and the rest of the amazing staff for making our stay so great. Especially Ailsa, from letting me use your mobile phone to get onto facebook(when we couldn't get the hotel customer computer to work)to check in with my daughter. Especially the night we decided to come back for an extra night without a booking and couldn't get a room within our price range anywhere (Thank you Bruce Springsteen lol) You spent over an hour trying to get us a room. It was close to the end of your shift, and the only fustration you showed was not being able to get us a safe place to stay for the night. We decided with your help to stay at the airport. You kept our suitcases for us and in the morning you were so relieved to see that we had returned safe. You even made sure our room was ready soon as we got back(which was earlier than normal check in time)so we could rest and have our showers. Thank you guys so very much for making our trip that much more special. Carolyn you have an amazing staff. Connie Newfoundland, Canada

"Peaceful"
Elaine B, 17 Juin 2016

Thank you for 3 relaxing nights I had at Eglinton Arms Hotel, beautiful rooms, great food, service 10/10, staff bend over backwards accommodating guests. Reception- Ailsa, Massimo, Bar Manager- Barry.

"Darker than a Tunisian Cave Hotel"
kevinbelliott, 10 Juin 2016

The brochure says a modern contemporary design, but entering the bedroom this meant brown and black everywhere. Lighting was very dim, and it was the first time I had stayed in a room without windows since a Tunisian cave hotel in 1985, but that had more light. There was a velux two-sided skylight high up in my room, but one of the blinds wouldn't open. To brighten it up there was a picture. Black & white photo of a row of terraced house on an empty road! The food was nice but not ample in the restaurant, but the waitress would not split the bill across the rooms when asked. There were problems with my checkout too. But if you get put into a bedroom with windows, and the staff are in a good mood, you could have a great comfortable stay, For me, after 6 hours of travelling the Eglinton wasn't what I needed on this occasion.

"Couldn't have asked for a better wedding!"
Andy M, 08 Juin 2016

We had our wedding here on 15/04/16 and we couldn't have asked for a better day. The venue itself is extremely modern and clean and tidy, the honeymoon suite room is huge, it's almost like a studio apartment! The decor in the hotel is also very nice and you can tell it's had a lot of money spent on it recently, unlike other Best Western hotels in the area! All our guests loved their rooms and also the food, as did myself and my wife, and the hotel catered to the more fussy ones among us without any fuss. Carolyn was great on the day too and helped the day go by as smoothly as possible. We have stayed here before and also had numerous meal here as well as our wedding and we will be back again in the near future. We have already recommended it to many of our friends and work colleagues and will continue to do so. Thanks again for making our special day even more special!

"Super Stay in Scotland"
seahorsenursery77, 03 Juin 2016

Really comfy hotel with a good restaurant. The room was a good size with view of village. Road noise not a problem. Staff very helpful as no hot water in room so we had use of another room - we did not swop as we preferred our original room with the view. Best breakfast in years. Freshly cooked - recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. In conservation village so great walk after supper each night through the woods and onto the reservoir. Fantastic views. Very near to Burrell collection.

"Beautiful village, lovely hotel."
J2342YDrichardg, 01 Juin 2016

Very enjoyable stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Room on the small side but very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. However, breakfast was quite expensive. Would recommend the hotel though.

"Excellent 5 Star"
Stephanie F, 29 Mai 2016

Our wedding day on Friday 13th May was perfect and this was due to Eglinton Arms for providing the best service to us and our guests. The day was run smoothly and atmosphere was great. Food was delicious and was served at a great pace. Thanks so much again for all that you did especially to Barry and Carolyn and all staff behind the scene xxx

"Lovely lunch"
ejcunninghame, 27 Mai 2016

Had two course business lunch here. Both courses beautifully presented and delicious. Friendly and efficient service. Had seared trout which was delicious. Partner had beef. £12.50 each for two courses excellent value for quality of food. Would recommend and will visit again.

A very helpful caring team in a lovely hotel. An accessible hotel for those with mobility problems with an excellent wet room. The rooms were very well presented with everything needed. A lovely restaurant and dinner and breakfast were good. we found a parking space. An enjoyable stay thank you.

"Little gem to the south of Glasgow"
JohnDroogan, 13 Mai 2016

A clean, modern hotel in a great location on the outskirts of Glasgow. Lovely staff and well equipped rooms make it a great place to stay for business or pleasure. Check-in was quick and efficient and the room was spotless. The restaurant served a good range of quality food and again the service from the staff was perfect. A great night sleep in a very comfortable bed. Usual tea and coffee making facilities in the room along with a decent sized flat screen TV, The en-suite bathroom was small but had a lovely powerful and hot shower (a must for me in the morning to wake me up properly). Breakfast menu was again very comprehensive and the waiting staff just as attentive. Check-out was quick and simple. The hotel is located in a quiet village just to the west of East Kilbride and offers easy access to Glasgow and the west coast.

"Peaceful stay"

Up graded to a superior room on arrival which was beautifully furnished with nice wall coverings very comfortable bed a couple of leather chairs and a window seat warm lighting flat panel TV well appointed shower room ( the water took a while to come through hot which affected the shower too) really good Scottish breakfast not a drop of grease in site hot plates All staff friendly and helpful will return soon thank you for your hospitality

"Attended a Wedding"
redarcs, 08 Mai 2016

We attended a Wedding here on 7/5/16 and from check in to check out the experience was excellent. The staff were superb, food great and overall we would return again. Room was good and facilities good. Organisation of the wedding was good(viewed as a guest) with attention to detail in evidence.

"Excellent"
m_watson49, 01 Mai 2016

Went for Sunday lunch really very high standard of food , pleasant surroundings and first rate service . Reasonable prices and good portions , all in all great value , will definitely go again . Good variety in the menu . Would highly recommend .

"Far better than 3***"
tomdenovan, 01 Mai 2016

Visited friends in local area and decided to book last moment. From booking to departure staff couldn't do enough for you! Massimo, Megan and Daniel in particular were brilliant in their customer care. Rooms were spotless, nicely equipped and quiet. We were going out in the evening and a wedding was taking place - and this didn't impact on the service & quality of food at lunchtime! Was really impressed with the Eglinton Arms and will be back - well worth a 4 star rating. Tom & Liz

"FUNCTION"
benalder67, 30 Avril 2016

I attended a celebration recently at the Eglinton arms hotel.. It was a great evening however I would like to add some constructive criticism for the manager of the hotel . When we asked for the cocktail menu the bar staff said that they do not do cocktails at all ever ! For such a lovely hotel which caters for private functions and weddings this just seems unbelievable. You are catering to a wide variety of age groups yet you seem to be missing out here as other local hotels such as the Busby and the Torrance have cocktail menus and not solely exclusive to functions but in their bar area also for customers to enjoy . Maybe something worth thinking about for the future.

"An overnight stay"
HMBGlasgow, 27 Avril 2016

Have had many wonderful dinners here. This was first overnight stay - as expected everyrhing was first class. Attention to detail is exceptional throughout. Comfy bed in delightfully designed room, overlooking the quaint village of Eaglesham. Friendly & efficient staff. Only 15 minutes from Glasgow city centre & not much more to Glasgow Airport. Perfect really.....

Dave E, 27 Avril 2016

enjoyed a leisurely and comfortable overnight stay on way to Royal Troon for golf, Our room, and especially the bed was extremely comfortable, although space between bathroom door and toilet pedestal was a little snug to say the least. Breakfast was equally good

"Beautiful location but avoid Saturday nights if you want a quiet weekend!"
Designs_JoanK, 26 Avril 2016

We stay here regularly as we have family close by. It's a great small hotel with tastefully decorated rooms and an excellent restaurant. It is also very popular for weddings. We always ask for a quiet room but on a recent stay, the somewhat unruly wedding guests were banging on door and making a noise well into the wee small hours! In contrast, our Friday night stay was very quiet! The hotel is well situated, in a historic village yet only half an hour from Glasgow city centre. A good spot for a short break.

"Travel out of your way..."
Nikkinoop, 17 Avril 2016

To visit this superb slice of luxury and experience attentive service. You won't be disappointed. Had the pleasure of spending one night in the Honeymoon suite as a birthday treat and was blown away by a simply stunning suite with maximum attention to detail and comfort. Also had the pleasure of a fantastic meal in their restaurant where the whole experience was faultless and an absolute delight. The service, provided by the hotel namely Carolyn, Jacqueline and Norbert was exceptional and memorable for all the right reasons. Would highly recommend. Thank you Eglington Arms!

"Improving"
Norrie9032, 17 Avril 2016

I had occasion to stay at this hotel again after only a few weeks as it was on a deal. Needless to say i was a bit dubious about going back after our first stay. I only used the Hotel for a place to sleep this time and for a relaxing drink after a good evening out. I can say the friendliness of the staff front of house has improved and it appeared to be new staff who were prepared to engage in conversation, although at times customers did have to wait a wee while to be served at the bar. The waiting staff at the restaurant appeared to be more attentive and smiling. The receptionist on arrival was pleasant but i got the impression that she did not want to be there by here body language and mannerisms. The room was again small but clean and tidy and this time i had a window which i could see out of. The only fault with the room was that a Light was not working on the bedside and the Kettle electrical safety Pat testing date was way out of date. I had an early book out due to work commitments but a very comfortable sleep. Still room for improvement on the attention to detail. Nice location, nice hotel . The free WiFi service is so slow it would have been quicker to use a reference book nothing to talk home about.

"Lovely, well presented building, great staff and food"
Scott S, 12 Avril 2016

Stayed two nights for a friends wedding, and was suitably impressed from start to finish. Stayed in two different rooms both of which were spotless and well decorated. Breakfast was great, the staff were all lovely and every aspect of the wedding reception was well handled. Food in the adjoining restaurant was great too. Highly recommended!

"Great Business Stay"
scottmaxted, 11 Avril 2016

Fabulous hotel. Modern, friendly staff, superb food at dinner and breakfast. The pub attached to the hotel is also great and full of atmosphere. Rooms very modern and comfortable. Great nights sleep. Highly recommended for business or pleasure

"Scunnered"
Alison S, 09 Avril 2016

Never in my life have I ever met a bunch of rude, aggressive and ignorant people in all of my life. I was attending a function at this location and on arrival everything was set beautifully. We were having a great night but I noticed the bar staff at this function were rude and really didn't look as if they wanted to be there at all. My review is more aimed at managers of the hotel. There was an issue with the main people of this function over something that evidently was not their fault. The managers could not have been more aggressive in pointing the blame at the people of the function. To which their attitude and aggression reduced many people to tears, literally. I will be conducting a letter of complaint to your head office about the managers in charge on this night. Disgusting.

"Wonderful location and unbelievable staff!"
Katherine J, 31 Mars 2016

After a less than enjoyable stay at nearby hotel, I was lucky to get a room at the Eglinton Arms, even though it was over a very busy Christmas & New Year period. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I had the good fortune to be spending New Year's Eve at the hotel and the manager on duty went out of her way to make me feel part of the wonderful celebrations that were taking place in the hotel. I would most highly recommend the Eglinton Arms to any and all travellers. The rooms, facilities, dining and entertainment was entirely first class and I can not speak highly enough of the staff. I am looking forward to returning later this year!

"A wee gem"
MickSwots, 26 Mars 2016

Simply great. Yes the room was quite small but it's only for sleeping eh?. Great breakfast but couldn't handle the haggis with it... 20 mins to town by car and just over an hour to the highlands this is a good location in a pretty village with loads of history.

"The Eglington Arms Best Western"
John M, 23 Mars 2016

This is our third stay at the Eglington Arms, staff are relaxed and very friendly. the rooms are well appointed and spacious ( superior rooms) food very good well served by attentive waiting staff. We will be back, hopefully sooner than later

"No Complaints "
TheTravellers2009, 18 Mars 2016

The rooms are a little small but comfortable, the restaurant is good as is the on site pub. My room didn't have a desk in it so not ideal for business users who need to work but aside from that it's a good hotel and the best around the East Kilbride area.

"Fantastic Function"
Ken R, 16 Mars 2016

I have been attending the Eaglesham Burns Supper the past 5 years and every one of these events has been fantastic All of these functions have been a great success thanks to the wonderful venue and the skill and proffesionalisim of the management and staff of the hotel. When attending an event like a Burns Supper timing is everything and the management of the hotel have always got the meal served and finnished in, a polite and friendly manner, in the allocated time. The meal has always been top quality and great value for money I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue for a function or a wedding.

"Family"
Tillie-may2015, 12 Mars 2016

I stay in this hotel regularly, as I have family in Eaglesham. Always clean, friendly, food excellent & perfect location for me, the double rooms are small, but cover your needs. I only go back to sleep , so not a problem for me, but if you are going to spend any time in room, I would recommend a bigger room, some great deals on booking.com

"Weekend away"
Carol A, 08 Mars 2016

Could not fault the hotel, had a wonderful weekend from booking in to paying the bill to leave. Looking forward to returning for another weekend away, we were in room 15 overlooking the park at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and even tried the Haggis. Restaurant was busy but we didn't have to wait long for a table as we hadn't booked for our evening meal.

"Enjoyable Short Break"
PollyDundee, 28 Février 2016

We had a great 2 day break in the Eglinton Arms. We had a lovely room. Loved the fittings and fixtures and view over the park. Our bed was very comfortable. Breakfast on both mornings was excellently cooked and we'll presented. The serving staff, Kathy and Gavin were warm and friendly to ourselves and other guests giving one group of ladies instructions on how to get the local bus into Glasgow and where to get off for the Merchant City. Staff on reception were very welcoming and helpful too. Everyone was very nice and this made our return visit to the hotel very enjoyable.

"LOVELY LUNCH AT THE EGG"
steviebhoy1888, 28 Février 2016

Not been for a couple of years and near to my home town East Kilbride so thought we would pop in for lunch. First thing you notice is the lovely decor and we were shown to a table within entering the restaturant , and our drink order was soon making its way to our table and given our menus Good choice of food for our little one although I thought the fish batter was a bit greasy but Olivia was not complaining and it was well finished Myself and my partner had the prawns to start and these were excellent along with the two mains which was the fish and chips, fantastic again Service was great and friendly and food quick to arrive and for two adults and a child with one bear , two cokes and two fruit shoots the bill was £52.00 so not bad for great food and service So if in the area and in need of som good food please pop in

"Weekend Visit"
Norman W, 21 Février 2016

Stayed at this hotel in the lovely conservation town. Hotel has lovely decor indoor and out. Rooms clean and tidy Food could be a little better. Staff friendly but need to spend more attention to clients and spend less time talking amongst themselves. Breakfast left bitter taste due to old oil being used. Would stay again but not have a cooked breakfast.

"Bed bugs and other horrible things"
westend1234, 21 Février 2016

I'm so surprised to see no other bad ratings here. First time I stayed here I didn't sleep a wink as was being bitten all night, woke up and scrutinised the sheets and sure enough they were covered with mites - even took a video of them, very active! Spoke to the manager who was unperturbed, said he would take the drinks of my bill, he really expected to pay for the room! Everyone very defensive as if it was my fault the room was unclean, reception staff very frosty with me when I checked out - just a really bad experience. I wasn't going to post anything on here until I stayed there again this weekend (I had no choice). I checked in late with my 2 year old and decided to have a quick look at the bed before I got in it - an array of hairs (I don't need to go into detail but they weren't all from someone's head) and a rice krispie were waiting for me this time. I was so tired I had to get but it was not nice having to sleep on top of someone else's mess. In the morning, desperate for a wash, I tried to have a shower - no hot water - called reception and they laughingly told me you have to keep the shower going for 15 minutes before the hot water comes through - who has time for this!?! So I didn't shower. I can't fault the restaurant staff who all seem to work hard, but housekeeping and reception are certainly lacking as is the attitude of management. No-one cares. I won't be back and would strongly advise that if you do stay here you take a good look at the bed before you get in it. And don't expect hot water!

"Cheekie wee break"
Neil H, 18 Février 2016

Great wee hotel, Staff always very helpful and rooms clean and comfy. Hotel a bit out the way but if driving you are still well placed for Glasgow and east Kilbride, but if you are after some where to just go and chill out its a great wee spot, and have been a few times now and never disappoints

"Excellent stay"
David A, 15 Février 2016

We were booked in for a one night stay, as part of a wedding celebration. The whole experience from check in till checkout was a pleasure. The staff were first class throughout the day and made the whole event a fantastic one. Room for a the star rating was spotless with all the expected amenities and more, I have eaten as a non guest at this hotel and the food is amazing, the meal for the wedding was fantastic and a lovely cooked breakfast to see us on our way. All in all fantastic value for money and it won't be long till we return for a meal again

"Lovely warm cosy hotel"
J C, 08 Février 2016

visited here Feb 2016. The staff at this hotel are very professional, initially we had to cancel our reservation due to a family bereavement, they could not do enough to ensure our reservation was honoured...Lovely reception area, excellent decor throughout the hotel. great bar area, breakfast was lovely. We did not dine in the restaurant so I am unable to comment. Rooms could be bigger but were very comfortable as was the bed, we had a great sleep. Parking a bit tight but again not a real problem and should not deflect away from what is a charming place to stay.

"Pretty reasonable "
Quingdao, 03 Février 2016

The hotel was nicely decorated in a areas. I struggled to find a mirror in the bedroom. eventually found in the wardrobe but it was a bit dark to put makeup on. Breakfast service was poor. A good few minutes before anyone noticed we had arrived. The apparently senior waitress appeared more interested in sending time in the kitchen and chatting to other staff. Our starter pla plates were not cleared, we were just expected to move them to the side so she could put the plates down. She also seemed put out when I asked for more coffee. original pot had less than 3 cups in it between 2 of us. Second pot came out half the size! The apparently new waitress didn't know we could request Haggis with our breakfast. After showing her it on the menu she asked if we would like it instead of black pudding we declined as we like both. She then spoke to the Senior waitress who explained that ît was given in addition to breakfast if requested. neither of them asked if we would like it. Otherwise cold and hot breakfast was tasty.

"Another amazing visit"
Phil G, 28 Janvier 2016

Staying in a nice hotel while away on business is a necessity, this is by far the best 'Best Western' hotel that I have stayed in! When visiting Glasgow forget staying Central, book the 'egg'. Excellent staff, excellent rooms, excellent food.

"Pleasant"
Craneleigh, 27 Janvier 2016

Stayed here for 3 weeks during january..breakfast was ok....lunch and evening menu was excelent and reasonable, rooms are a bit small but clean and tidy, staff will bend over to help..not alot to do around the village so we stayed in most nights...

"Eglington Arms"

staff not monitoring customers busy chatting at breakfast and evening meal times food poor - eggs under done hotel clean and tidy good location for road links reception helpful and efficient hotel stay price reasonable

"annual meet-up with friends"
4wheelman, 25 Janvier 2016

For a few years now I along with 4 friends have spent a night in January for a catch up on the Festive Season. In the evening we enjoy a few drinks and a meal with 4 of us then staying over. The feature of the "Eg",as we call it, is that it provides and maintains a very high standard in all departments which is constant and can be relied upon. It truly is one of the Best of BW hotels

"Lovely people, lovely hotel."
JMcKerr, 22 Janvier 2016

While I didn't stay for long, 1 night, it was enough for me to form a great opinion of hotel and staff. Lovely room, dark colours yet very modern, large shower in clean bathroom. Very friendly staff in breakfast room served with a smile and brought very tasty fare to the table. Thanks to you all, had a great stay albeit a very short one.

"Good Find"
Stephen D, 15 Janvier 2016

Hotel in nice location, Restaurant extremely good, Room adequate and comfortable. Real bonus of, power shower - need no more. Only minor niggle was a problem with wifi & internet connection. Staff very friendly and helpful - Recommended.

"Luxurious hotel, great staff"
Carol M, 15 Janvier 2016

We had a nice night. We used to stay every time in this area. This was our first time here in the "egg" as the locals calling it, but we love this place. It's a great location and we had a very nice experience. The room was really neat and super comfortable. It's a modern fashioned place combined vintage and modern style. The restaurant was really busy but we felt quite relaxed and we enjoyed the dinner really much. The staff were amazing. One man that was working on this evening (I think his name was Norbert from France) nothing was to much and he made us feel really special. He was polite, efficient and always smiling. We'll definitely come back. Thank you.

"Funeral wake and stay"
Wifeandme, 12 Janvier 2016

Stayed at the Arms, sadly, for a funeral wake. The arrangements were superb; staff friendly, helpful and kind - nothing was too much trouble. Stayed the night before the wake and left the day after (2 nights). Had evening meal the first night which was excellent - sea bass; breakfast following morning was very good, even though we asked chef to make the fried meal quickly, because of having to rush for the ceremony. Maybe a little more fruit selection would be an idea. Beds extremely comfortable - beware, they're on castors so might move if leaned on. Room at front, overlooking main road, was warm and quiet, although we didn't open the window at night. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay, despite the sad circumstances. Try it, you will be pleased. A final note: wife left expensive fashion boots and they were posted to her in just a few days, with their complements - more good service.

"Christmas Dinner 2015"
Irene S, 11 Janvier 2016

All I can say is another fantastic Christmas Day dinner. This was our second year going here and we will continue to book. The food was fantastic! Can't thank the staff enough for giving up their Christmas Day with their families to serve us. My Partner's Mum still raves on about the dessert! It was called the Grand Dessert! It was absolutely delicious and something different. Even Santa paid a visit to our table, which went down really well! Please don't even hesitate to go here. Believe me you won't regret it! Have included a wee picture of our dessert.

"A comfortable and very pleasant experience"
Lesley M, 08 Janvier 2016

We stopped at the Eglington Arms for an excellent lunch last September and decided to break our journey north on Boxing day and stay the night. Everything about the hotel was extremely good, our room was very comfortable with an amazing power shower in the ensuite bathroom, the staff were charming, very helpful and attentive. The food on the whole was delicious, my starter wasvery disappointing but my maincourse and breakfast could not be faulted. We will certainly stay there again

"Wonderful Hogmanay"
John D, 07 Janvier 2016

Must recommend "The Eglinton Arms" for their excellent Hogmanay Ball. Excellent food, champagne reception, wonderful singer and reasonably priced. A really good night (for the third time)! Rooms were not expensive, but a wee bit on the small side, although did not lack for anything.

"Of good quality"
Andy D, 01 Janvier 2016

I have now stayed there three times. I think it is a good quality hotel. Staff are friendly and polite. Everything is clean and tidy. Nice décor. Plenty of tea coffee and short bread in room Comfortable bed. Runs functions but bedroom nice and quiet. Room cleaned every day. Plenty of shower gel shampoo and conditioner provided. Nice big walk in shower, with big new towels every day. Nice hot cooked breakfast with toast included. Continental breakfast things were included as well. Set opposite a grassy square in a nice area.

"Hogmanay"
geog48, 01 Janvier 2016

We had booked to come here, in a family party, some months ago, after having a good lunch and the head waiter suggesting we should come for the Scottish 2015 Hogmanay. Frankly, it was very excellent. I am normally trepidatious about functions offering a set menu. In this case the choices were very good. I had Scottish scallops with Stornoway black pudding (lovely), followed by fillet steak cooked perfectly medium rare. The rest of our party similarly could not fault the food. The evening itself was very enjoyable, excellent cabaret and a piper to bring in 2016. How good the evening was, was evidenced by the number of people who have returned over several years. All being well, I look forward to a repeat performance for 2017. Happy New Year!

"Looking for Famous Scottish hospitality - you won't get it here !"
Lesley Anne F, 30 Décembre 2015

I remember my 80 year old dad telling me that he stopped at a remote family run hotel in Glen Coe at 2.10pm one Saturday afternoon for lunch. Despite there being no one in the bar, the patrons told him that he had missed lunch which stopped serving at 2pm. I was flabbergasted at the sheer lack of customer focus, flexibility etc. here and disappointed that in this day and age with such ferocious competition in the sector, that any proprietor could be so lacking in vision... I mean 10 minutes in the Highlands - where there is nowhere to eat for 20 miles around ! Needlesstosay no one I know has ever frequented that establishment since. I empathised with my father entirely this morning when faced with a similar experience at the Eglinton Arms. Breakfast is a sacred meal. Miss it at your peril, it largely dictates how the rest of your day will pan out. A decent, healthy breakfast will make you more productive - of that I am sure. At the hotel last night, there were 5 guests staying in a hotel of c30 rooms - only 3 rooms occupied. My family of four ( including 2 children ) presented for breakfast at 10am this morning only to be told that breakfast finished at 9.30am ! What ?! I travel extensively and have never known a hotel to finish breakfast that early, particularly during Christmas holiday season.... The frustration of being told by a rather curt waitress that breakfast was finished was considerable, particularly when there was a howling gail outside and only one person ( presumably the only other guest in the hotel the prior night) in the restaurant. I said that this would be a considerable problem - thinking mainly about the fact that the rice crispies were in front of me ( and my children) and yet access to them was denied ! Decent customer service would have looked like an offer of a continental breakfast perhaps. Sadly that was not to be a despite paying for bed and breakfast, the corn flakes were locked away until tomorrow's 3 customers pitched up... That is presuming they were there at 7am !! This alarmingly limited way of treating customers is sadly a feature of many clock watching inflexible Scottish hotels. This would simply never happen in the USA or in most hotels in the South East of England. They recognise the true value of the customer, particularly the family market. I left feeling frustrated, hungry and resolute about not booking into this hotel again ( or any other Best Western for that matter)... To add insult to injury I ordered a poor coffee which they then charged me £2.35 for.....! What we did after ? Got breakfast in a local cafe where they understand how to treat people and then told 10 people in the local area what a poor experience we had. Get a grip Scotland - never send anyone ( particularly children) into a storm without a porridge .... Or risk your business being blown away !!!

"Very good dinner"
DaveStrathaven, 24 Décembre 2015

I dined here for the third time last night and had a great meal. The barbecued chicken was excellent and quite filling. The chef loves to serve rocket!! Sweet was 3 icecreams on mini shortbread, again nicely served and good although the honeycomb ice cream was sparse in honeycomb. The meal for 4 including soft drinks all round came in at £107 - probably par for the course. The restaurant was quite quiet although it can be noisy if busy.

"Lovely Boutique Hotel on 'the Orry""
lornalondon2015, 19 Décembre 2015

I have just spent a short break in the village of Eaglesham which sits in the hills looking down over Glasgow. It us also very close to East Kilbride. The Eglinton Arms, or 'egg' as it is known by locals is a delightful boutique hotel. It is part of the Best Western chain but retains its own individuality, with large photographs of this historic village throughout the hotel. It is tastefully decorated throughout in warm browns and reds with a lovely fire in the lobby which is very welcoming on cold days. There is both a Public and Lounge bar, both popular with locals and visitors. The restaurent provides an excellent breakfast menu and is open from 12 noon for lunch or dinner with a wide range of dishes to suit all tastes. Drinks or snacks are also served all day in the lower half of the restaurent or lobby where you can sit and look out over the village green. The hotel akso provides excellent function facilities and is very popular for weddings.

"Second Christmas Party Night"
Helen G, 18 Décembre 2015

I enjoyed yet another fantastic Christmas Party Night at this lovely hotel. The food was excellent, entertainment excellent and the staff were all very helpful and kind. Carolyn the hotel manager goes the extra mile ensuring all guests are made to feel welcome. Thank you once again and see you next year. Helen

"Teo night stay atr the Eglinton Arms"
damck37, 16 Décembre 2015

Having stayed at the Eglinton before we had no hesitation in enjoying another stay. We find the staff efficient and relaxed in providing excellent friendly service. We will undoubtedly return. We have recommended the hotel to friends

"Another Excellent stay"
fiftythousand, 12 Décembre 2015

I arrived in the dark and rain and having been before, I knew where I wanted to be, there is a small car park at the back, and the main entrance to the hotel is off the drive to the side, there is also on street parking available which is unrestricted. My room I had booked a superior room which was on the first floor, a lift was available if required, the room painted in a dark olive/brown colour it was a pleasant room overlooking the rear of the hotel. The 5' double bed had one of the largest and most solid headboards I have seen, complimented by a matching large wooden fitted desk and wardrobe, this is not a huge room but is finished to a high standard. Also in the room was a wall mounted flat screen TV. WiFi is free. The hospitality tray was in one of the desk drawers and included a tea pot, and Scottish shortbread everything again was immaculate. There was some background noise from the adjacent room, but not too obtrusive, obviously someone who likes there telly, was still on at 2am. The en suite shower room was small but perfectly fitted with high quality fittings, fully tiled with a large mirror and a 1200mm shower tray. During my stay I had an excellent meal from the house menu in the restaurant which was a pleasant and busy space, again fit and finish were excellent. Breakfast was a buffet with the normal Cold self-service selection together with an efficient and friendly team bringing the cooked breakfasts to order, all very nice and plentiful.

"Top Class Again"
Neil M, 11 Décembre 2015

Stayed at the 'Egg' again for one night. All the times I have stayed there they have never let us down. As my partner was with me this time she insisted on breakfast. Superb choice from an extensive hot menu, definitely sets you up for the day. This hotel is in a beautiful rural setting but within easy reach of Glasgow due to a superb motorway network.

"90th birthday party"
User, 29 Novembre 2015

The staff and management made this small family event a delight. Nothing was too much for them, Caroline took photos of the cake cutting, added a picture to a menu and we all signed it. A lovely personal touch. Food good, service excellent, couldn't ask for more

"A lovely one night stay"
Northernlass13, 29 Novembre 2015

Stayed on a Saturday night while attending a gig in East Kilbride lovely welcome when we arrived, nice clean rooms with good shower, room had a velux window so it was nice & dark with the blind shut, didn't have breakfast or dinner as we were meeting friends, we are hoping to stay again in march but hopefully for 2 nights so we can spend some time in the hotel, nice friendly staff.

"Fantastic staff and great place"
Emma C, 29 Novembre 2015

Myself and my husband and our two children visit family in eaglesham about six times a year and stay about three nights each time. Each time we have stayed at the eglinton arms and have always been so impressed with the service of the reception (I am annoyed I don't know their names as they at brilliant) , reservations in particular Angela and the housekeepers are outstanding. All amazing again and could not do enough to help. The rooms are spotless and comfortable with everything you could need. I am not a great hotel sleeper but have never had an issue as it is so quiet and comfortable here. We left after our last stay again this morning (29th November). If there Is anything that you need help with the housekeeping and reception staff are always more than happy to help. What a credit to the hotel. We will no doubt see you in a month or so. Thank you all again for a great stay.

"Superb Hotel 3 stars don't do this place justice"
Bezza1965, 24 Novembre 2015

Stayed here on business for 3 nights The hotel is extremely contemporary but retains its old world charm Splendid makeover to avert high standard throughout Good sized bar with decent range of beers and spirits Excellent breakfasts too Give it a go I'll certainly be back

"Great venue"
Alexander F M, 21 Novembre 2015

My mum and her team held a ladies lunch at the hotel for Macmillan cancer support on the 6th of November with 110 ladies and 1 guest speaker in attendance. The food was very good and from what i was told the service was very good . I was behind the scenes with the taffle prizes and saw how brilliantly Barry , Joan and the rest of the staff worked to meet all the guests needs. Agreat day thank you. I would certainly suggest this venue and my mum lo

"Great service"
ebjoseph, 18 Novembre 2015

From the moment my wife and I arrived at this hotel, the service was faultless. Although we didn't really make full use of the facilities, the bedroom, albeit a bit on the small size, was very clean and well decorated. In fact, despite a rather plain exterior, once inside you are greeted with a wonderfully stylish interior.

"Wedding 07/08/15"
christine r, 15 Novembre 2015

When my husband and I first walked in to the venue and were so happy with what was on offer, the decor, atmosphere, space, menus, drink prices everything was amazing.. We new it was the right place for us. On the run up to the big day Carolyn and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.. Having a good part of the family staying over for 3 nights, the hotel made them feel right at home. Everything on the big day ran smoothly thanks to the team at the eg.. It was an amazing day, would do it all over again was so much fun. If you are thinking of booking your wedding here I highly recommend.. You won't b disappointed ??

"Business trip"
G S, 12 Novembre 2015

I needed somewhere convenient to stay with access to East Kilbride and found the Eglinton Arms Hotel. Best Western is always my first choice when I am away and the Eglinton Arms was perfectly situated. Quiet, plenty of parking and easy accessible to East Kilbride. The room I was allocated was situated in the centre of the hotel and had no access to outside windows and at first I found this slightly annoying however the room was comfortable, extremely quiet which made for a sound sleep and slightly quirky feel with the decoration leaning to an Art Deco theme. Even though there were no windows the controls for opening and closing the velux windows and blinds was located on the desk which I found as a nice touch and more than made up for no windows. The restaurant service and food was superb and I found it hard to find anything negative about anything at the Eglinton Arms. I would definitely stay here again.

"Excellant"
Simon M, 04 Novembre 2015

Stay here every 2 weeks on Business, excellent hotel cannot fault anything. (Wi-Fi needs improving in rooms). Breakfast / Evening meal very good, could do with a update to the menu as if you stay on a regular basis the menu seems limited.

"Fundraising Dinner"
Ross C, 04 Novembre 2015

We held a fundraising dinner dance in the function room here, raising money both for our football team and also for the Beatson. The 3 course meal was fantastic and were provided outstanding service throughout the night, friendly, approachable and attentive; nothing was too much to ask for. So Thank You to Carolyn and all her staff on the night for making us feel comfortable at all times. Everything ran incredibly smoothly and would highly recommend to anyone looking to host a and sort of function night here at the Eglinton Arms.

"good value for money"
P B, 03 Novembre 2015

"Good quality Sunday lunch"
Tom W, 01 Novembre 2015

Had a few hit and miss Sunday lunches, normally carvery style. Decided to go up a notch, read some good reviews, called ahead to check they did do Sunday lunch and was advised to book as they "were quite busy". Arrived at 4.30pm to be greeted by an almost empty restaurant. Seated immediately, the décor is classy and looks to have been done fairly recently, nice lighting gave a good atmosphere. Sunday roast has no choices - it was beef, ordered 1 of these and a steak pie (option of potatoes. fries or hand cut chips). Both meals arrived piping hot and both were very good, "proper" roast beef from a joint, roast potatoes and root veg, steak pie with chips and root veg. 2 very clean plates later we were both satisfied. 2 soft drinks brought the bill to £23 - good value for the quality of the food and surroundings. Only criticism - no check back from staff re satisfaction etc once food was served despite a few of them standing very close by the bar next to our table. Staff are friendly enough. Will probably go back for dinner one night.

"Perfect"

Just loved our stay here. We were able to drop off our luggage to reception at 10 am and got out to a family gathering, returning at 9 pm to find our bags in our room. Nice to have considerate and helpful staff. Perfect room. Wish we had found this little gem earlier. Hope to return either next year or the year after. Eaglesham is a really nice quiet town just 7 minutes drive from Newton Mearns. The town square opposite is charming. Room was beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The Reception area and dining area is very stylish and welcoming

We had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were very helpful, polite and could not do enough for you. The food in the restaurant was very well presented. The menu was varied and catered for a wide range of tastes. The room was very comfortable, clean and the Wi-Fi connection in the rooms was very good.

"Excellent little hotel"
Navonodfn, 28 Octobre 2015

Stayed here for 2 nights on business and it was excellent. The room was nice, spotlessly clean and well furnished. The restaurant and bar were both really nice and all the staff were very pleasant. I wouldn't hesitate to return again

"Lovely hotel"
Hughdlb, 24 Octobre 2015

Great hotel. The staff make you feel at home and are very polite and pleasant. They have lots of events but there is no noise bleed. The breakfast is delicious. We stay regularly when visiting friends in Eaglesham. The village itself is very lovely too. Rooms are very well furnished and comfortable.

"Business trip overnight stay"
Greg O, 23 Octobre 2015

The staff were excellent as was the food in the restaurant and for breakfast. The internal décor of both hotel and the room I stayed in were fabulous. In addition the hotel was an ideal location for reaching Irvine & the cities of Glasgow & Edinburgh. I would definitely stay here again on my next business trip and for leisure.

"Celebratory Brunch"
Mary M, 22 Octobre 2015

From start to finish, the staff at this beautiful hotel excelled! We celebrated my niece's 21st birthday with a family brunch in the restaurant. The food and service were first class and enjoyed by everyone. The duty manager had even allocated a corner slightly removed from the main restaurant, while still being part of it, so as not to disrupt the other hotel guests. The staff were attentive to our every need, without being overbearing and even left a token gift for my niece. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, and will definitely return!

"Great hotel. friendly staff"

Although it was not a huge room we stayed in a very comfortable and clean room. Comfy bed, good shower, great breakfast and very friendly and chatty staff. Only sorry we couldn't have stayed longer but happy to return

We have stayed in this hotel on several occasions and it has always been perfect. All staff are welcoming and friendly and the hotel is kept spotlessy clean, comfortable beds and powerful showers are all that make this hotel a pleasure to stay in. Although rated as 3 stars in my opinion it is more like a 4 star hotel that we will definitely return to when next visiting this area.

"Our Wedding 18.09.15 :)"
FayeBlyth, 20 Octobre 2015

We had our wedding at "the Eg" in September this year and I simply can't put down in words just how amazing everything was! All of the staff were so helpful and nothing was a problem! We booked the hotel around two years before to ensure that our date was safe and all the way leading up to the wedding Carolyn kept us informed and up to date with any developments (the biggest being the conversion of the wine cellar into the Earls Hall, where we eventually decided to get married!). Throughout our planning, if we had any queries, Carolyn was always more than happy to help us at little to no notice! The wedding itself wasn't massive - around 70 guests at the ceremony - but this was perfect for the Earls Hall. On the morning of the wedding, the check in couldn't have been smoother, the bridal suite was ready and waiting (we had asked if we could bring my dress etc up the night before to store in the suite, which wasn't a problem!). Thanks to Carolyn and Barry, the day went perfectly and smoothly. All of the staff were so happy to help, nothing was a problem and were all happy to have a chat. The sheer professionalism and dedication from all of the staff was just amazing (especially Aisla on reception who always seemed to get stuck with me yapping to her!!). We couldn't have chosen a better place to have our big day!!

"Our Wedding - 19.09.15"
Martin S, 18 Octobre 2015

From the moment we arrived to view the hotel last year, the professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm of all the staff shone through. In the lead up to the wedding Carolyn kept us updated, and was quick to respond to our queries, and couldn't be more helpful. I stayed the night before the wedding with friends and we ate in the restaurant. It wasn't our first meal there, but as always the food and service was exceptional. The day of our wedding went without a hitch (or if not, we certainly weren't aware!) The new ceremony room is stunning, and definitely has the wow factor. A brilliant addition to the hotel. The meal itself was outstanding, the portions were large, but it was all too good to leave any! The staff serving the meal again were courteous and helpful, doing their job without us even noticing. The bar staff were also fantastic, smiling the whole time and working hard to keep all our guests happy. The evening reception, again, was perfect. The evening buffet of rolls with sausage and bacon was exactly what we needed, and the meat was of an incredibly high standard, and quite clearly freshly cooked. The breakfast on both mornings, was exceptional. To get a freshly cooked breakfast makes a huge difference and is far preferable to picking from a buffet. The staff were also lovely, keeping me calm the morning of the wedding, and asking all about it the next day. The rooms were amazing, impeccably clean, comfortable and decorated to a high standard. Everyone who stayed commented on how stylish and clean they were. The honeymoon suite is incredible and made a few guests quite jealous! A huge to thanks to every single member of staff, who worked incredibly hard to make sure our day went without a hitch. My review may seem too good to be true, but is completely justified for this outstanding hotel. Truly a hidden gem, and we will most definitely be back.

"Friendly hotel"
JanS1750, 14 Octobre 2015

The Eglington Arms is located in the heritage village of Eaglesham - well worth having a stroll around the common land where there are delightful cottages. The hotel is very comfortable and a popular wedding venue (one both days I stayed and there have been when I stayed in the past). Facilities in the bedrooms were good, comfortable bed, very clean and plenty of toiletries. Breakfast is excellent, good Scottish fare served by friendly staff. A good location - you would certainly never guess Glasgow is a mere stone's throw away.

"Our Wedding Day 17.07.15"
Catriona M, 13 Octobre 2015

We had our wedding in the Eglinton Arms in July this year and I cannot express how amazing our day was, how fantastic the hotel and staff are and how much I would recommend having your wedding there! From day 1 meeting with Carolyn she was friendly, accommodating, not pushy, and had an aura of calmness around her that made me really trust her with our special day. Our day couldn't have ran smoother (and if there were any hiccups I'm still completely unaware months on!) Carolyn and Barry were on hand all day ensuring everything was running to plan and time. All our guests were so surprised at this hidden gem of a hotel and how close to Glasgow we were - I'm from Rutherglen and didn't want my guests having to travel too far - a 15 minute journey from Rutherglen. The drinks were very reasonable - another factor I looked at for my guests, I know how expensive weddings can be, the meal was superb, so many people commented about how good the food was a great portions - again what you need to fill up your guests! The rooms are beautiful (the honeymoon suite actually sold it for me) so classy and traditional yet with modern grey colouring, the double shower and free standing bath is amazing!! My husbands uncle works in Gleneagles and he agreed that the hotel was of an extremely high standard and was very impressed with the service, room, and breakfast the next morning. The place is so well kept, when my mum and I were visiting one occasion Carolyn took us to see the honeymoon suite and there was a wee man painting away and re-wallpapering ensuring the place was up to a high standard. Likewise the outside and grounds are very well kept too! Cant recommend this place enough - PLEASE go and see it. Although my parents paid mostly for our wedding I know my mum was very surprised/pleased at the total bill, very reasonable for the package we took. Thanks again to all the staff at the Eglinton - you made our day unforgettable and one in a million <3 xxx

"Country Hide Away"
Mark W, 01 Octobre 2015

This is a 3 star hotel that gives a 4 star service. It's about a 20 minute from Glasgow city centre and is in a small country setting. The food is outstanding and the rooms are very modern and very comfortable . The hotel is also very handy for the boat back to Ireland from Cairnryan. I will be coming back again.. It also has free wifi in all areas of the hotel and free view television in the rooms,

My Partner and I were staying for 3 nights at this hotel as he was working in the area. We were shown to our room which was excellent, however as I was going to stay at the hotel whilst he worked, the room only had a roof window and I asked if there was any possibility to change for a room with a traditional window. Amanda Jayne telephoned reception on our behalf and immediatley took us to a different room to view which overlooked the green at the back and she helped us move. The second room was as good as the first and I have to say this is the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The bathroom looked as though it had been remodelled recently and I complemented housekeeping on their care and attention and was surprised that the rooms were renovated over three years ago. - Spotless All the staff are friendly and helpful. Joan in the breakfast restaurant could not do enough to help us and make our stay memorable. The reception staff helped us with advise and directions on where to eat if we went on a trip out in the evening and we ended up in Troon which was only about 20 miles away. Im so glad we stayed at this hotel and would have no hesitation in returning. Excellent effort - much appreciated.

We have visited this hotel on a few different occasions and it never fails to impress. The rooms are spotless and decorated to a high standard ( especially like the room with the large skylights) The staff are all extremely friendly and the service can't be faulted. My husband always rates hotels on their breakfasts and this has got to be one of the best we've had. Cooked to perfection and lots to choose from. The dinner was also great we stayed on a Sunday and I had the roast beef, it was gorgeous and reasonably priced. The decor in the whole hotel is lovely and has been done to a high standard throughout. Eaglesham feels like a rural village, but is only 10 minutes from Glasgow. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

"A truly wonderful experience"
Lorna W, 24 Septembre 2015

my husband and I spent 2 weeks at this hotel while on holiday from Australia - from the moment we arrived until the moment we left I could not fault the service or any member of staff, indeed it was quite the opposite... The staff were welcoming, friendly and attended to us effortlessly throughout our stay. I cannot praise the hotel and the staff enough - the hotel, the food, the staff and our experience was wonderful. we were privileged to witness 2 different wedding parties during our stay and having had our own wedding reception in the original hotel over 30 years ago i would thoroughly recommend this charming hotel and village - Thank you so much, we hope to visit again one day.

"Beautiful hotel in a quaint Scottish village"
Jamonty_001, 24 Septembre 2015

The Eglinton Arms is a beautifully kept two story hotel in the village of Eaglesham. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous in all matters. I would highly recommend this hotel and region as a place to relax when traveling in SW Scotland.
