Out the door of the hotel, and no more than 20 paces the Metro. Taxis at the corner, and the entire universe of restaurants of every size and cuisine within a few blocks. Hear the bells of Notre Dame, or stroll the quai along the Seine. THIS is a great location. It was quiet in our 4th floor room on the Boulevard, and the beds were comfy. The hotel was clean and well-maintained. The breakfast was more than expected, all the usual cold things, but also delicious scrambled eggs and sausage. OK, the elevator is tiny, and there are bags of laundry in the halls. BUT the room was larger than I expected, and the bathroom was decent. It's Paris.

« Perhaps other tourists should show some respect? »

Well we can't believe the previous review as we stayed at the hotel at the same time for 3 nights from 2nd Nov and our experience was totally positive We had wonderful time, the hotel is spotlessly clean, yes it is rather on the small side but big enough and very comfortable beds, that is important, isnt it? The location is fantastic we could not wish for better. plenty of restaurants, and easy access to shops RER bus stops etc and close to Notre Dam which, by the way, was amazing. When we booked the hotel we made the mistake of booking a Twin room. I promptly emailed and asked if it would be possible to change to a double room and if possible a room with a view. This they did without hesitation and our room even thugh on the 5th floor was lovely and clean. The staff are very kind staff and obliging all in all a wonderful experience. All i can say to those people who report horrible negative comment is 'perhaps take a look at your own behaviour andalways try to treat others as you yourself would like to be treated, show some respect and perhaps yur experiences will be more positive! Furthermore if you want 5 Star Hotel and service then book and pay the price of The Ritz! So thank you Best Western we will be back and soon, we had an amazing time in the Latin Quarter in Paris Amazing Hotel

    « Big disappointment »

Unfriendly reception. Elevator very small impossible to use. Noisy. Rooms not cleaned before mid-afternoon. Bags of laundry left in the corridors. Breakfast not up to a 4 stars hotel, view on the kitchen, poor choice, friendly lady, tiny breakfast room. The overall stay was ok but this hotel cannot be rated with 4 stars. The whole furniture and decoration need to be refreshed. Public toilets are small and dirty. Bathtub is leaking.

    « SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! »

We stayed here at the end of our trip for 3 nights. On returning to Melbourne, we had received an email saying that we had broken the marble bench in the bathroom. They had already attempted to withdraw 2500 AUD from our credit card!!!! Having not succeeded they them took 1250 AUD. We then questioned the Hotel as to how it was even possible to break a marble bench... If we had broken anything in the room we would have mentioned this on check out. They had basically said its our word against theirs. UNTRUSTWORTHY STAFF/ HOTEL/ BUSINESS Enjoy our money you Leeches

« Great location and price »

This is a great hotel if you have to go in and out of Paris and are going to take the RER. It is 2 minute away walking from the RER line that goes to the airport. Rooms are small but the location and price are perfect. Clean.

    « Location location »

For tourist hotel in June its painless.. folks are super nice..location great I could walk to RER and find my girlfriend at cafe drinking rose when I returned.. she organized tours easily with only little Francais...while I went to meetings..easy access to food variety in st Michel and morning coffee .. nice clean rooms for usual Paris cramped hotels and staff were polite even with my screaming girlfriend ..had to park away in local garage 35 euro/day and drive up on sidewalk to deposit bags but then a car is not for Paris of course ..good for tag along friend on biz trip worked great ..

« One of the best stays in Paris!!! »

I have stayed here three or maybe four times. Each time I am amazed at how 'reliable' this hotel is. First, it is in the heart of the Latin Quarter. Great eats and great crepes are just a few feet away. An additional plus is that the RER (Regional Train) and metro stations are just a few feet away. They can get you almost anywhere in Paris quite nicely. But, if you are into walking, this is a great spot. The left bank is at your disposal and the right back is just a few feet away. The personalized service is also terrific. The folks at the front desk really know their stuff and will go out of their way to accommodate you. The rooms are clean, comfortable and everything works! You do pay a premium for this marvelous location but it is well worth it.

    « Quiet and comfortable »

The hotel has a great location, just steps from the metro, the Seine, and Notre Dame cathedral. Despite much tourist traffic outside the hotel my room was quiet, including the AC unit which maintained the room at a very comfortable temperature. The staff are friendly and helpful and the room was clean and adequate size. The breakfast service at the hotel is also quite good. I travel to Paris twice a year and regularly stay at this hotel as it consistently meets my needs at a reasonable price for Paris.

    4
    « Nice location »

The hotel is relatively small, straightforward and not of the luxurious type, but room & bath and the rest is clean and tidy. The elevator is of the ?micro type? (as many places in Paris), two persons fill it up completely?. That is just charming. Helpful staff. By walking out of the door and 50metres right, you are in a charming street with Paris pulse, artists, painters, small shops with food and a drink. Several of Paris ?attractions are in walking distance.

« Good hotel but noise travels »

This is a very well located hotel and is quite pleasant. Room is compact but clean and we'll decorated. Bathroom again is clean but could do with a better shower. Issue I had is noise travelled. The street noise from below came through the windows. Also, you could hear other rooms running baths etc. Price was reasonable too I will come here again

« Location, Service and food very good! »

Its a small and ancient hotel with small rooms BUT the Service/staff and the breakfast are really good! Very polite but also very professional. The elevator is super small but it worked out well. Location is also Top! Would stay again :)

« Great travel experience in heart of the city »

The hotel is convenient located in metro station in the Latin Quarter within easy walking distance to good restaurants, bars and other souvenir shops. It close to many historic building such as Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay, St. Chappelle and others. Accommodating staff, clean, comfortable rooms, superior location. The owner's daughter went above and beyond to help us with the WiFi issue by offering us to use her personal WiFi to get our phone working again... Thanks Mlle. Claire for your time!

    « Location Location Location »

Its all about the location. We were on a 24 hr whirlwind tour of Paris and wanted to be at the start of the main tour route. This hotel is right next to the Notre dam and St Michel fountain. Area: safe, even for a group of females who reached there at midnight. Several restaurants in the vicinity were open and there were people around. Just a few steps from the Metro. Hotel: neat and clean, rooms average size for Paris, small lift, can take only 2 at a time. Rooms were furnished comfortably and excellent sound proofing. staff: extremely polite and helpful. Overall a great experience. will come again.

    « Excellent Personnel and Location . . . »

The 5th arr. is a very good spot to be in. Good food, shopping and Metro. The staff of the Best Western Premier Royal St. Michel is second to none! I cannot say enough good, positive, things about them! The rooms are small (because it's Paris) but very clean and modern. Ask for a room with a view of anything but the air conditioning system, which is in the back. Street views are great. If you get a view of the ac machinery just keep your drapes closed. The elevator is tiny (it's Paris) and will hold one person plus a suitcase or two people with no suitcase. That's it. We were on the second floor, so we hardly ever used it. If we get back to Paris again . . . this is where we will stay!

    4
« Nice hotel, next to Notre Dam »

Very clean and aptly positioned hotel, comfortable beds. We were on the 4th floor and the lifts are very small and slow. Otherwise, excellent choice for us as we wanted to be near Notre Dam. Staff polite and helpful. Had to pay extra for luggage storage after checkout.

    4
« Short overnight stay in Paris after a week cruising the French canals. »

I have stayed at the Royal Saint Michel before and chose it again for it's proximity to Notre Dame and easy (walking) access to all the popular attractions. It is a little pricey, especially at the normal rates as the rooms are small and the lift is tiny but it is very clean and next to the RER/Metro. The staff are very friendly and helpful and even provided us with umbrellas when we had a sudden shower just before going out to dinner.

    5
    « Amazing location »

This place was easy to find, in the middle of all the restaurants, many of the sights to see, and you're never without anything to do. We walked from here to the Eiffel Tower and it was a fun day. The staff were helpful. We got upgraded when we got there. Breakfast was delicious with many options and really friend staff. People complain about the tiny elevator and yes it is tiny but either you wait your turn to use it or you just walk up the stairs to your room. I thought room 406 perfect, it was just high enough to avoid the street noise and low enough that you weren't huffing and puffing up and down the stairs. I would gladly stay here next time and I would definitely recommend this place.

    4
    « Small rooms but excellent sound-proofing! »

This hotel is an EXCELLENT location! The rooms are small, but that is the case with central Paris. Even though this hotel is in a very busy location, the rooms are very quiet due to great sound-proofing!

    5
    « hotel »

I had reserved this hotel for the second trip to paris. And I am satisfied with my choose! Location is very good and central . you can go from CGD to the hotel directly by RERB. and what do you need more after a long trip! hotel it self was very comfortable. it has elevatore and the breakfast was very adorable.

    5
« Nice place to stay in Paris »

It's a nice cozy hotel in a very lively area. It's located very close to a RER B station Saint-Michel, so you can easily get there from CDG airport. I have chosen that hotel because of its location, and I was not disappointed.

« Good Location! Great Staff! »

Room was a good size in comparison to other European rooms. Location was great - close RER and Metro. Hot water was amazing! Nice breakfast. Little bitty elevator - but great exercise using the stairs!

    4
« Fantastic location. Near Notre Dame and 2 mins from Metro »

Great Hotel mostly due to the location. Right next to Notre Dame. The metro and river boats and taxi all within 2 minutes walking distance. Rooms were much bigger them expected as per Parisian standards. The Management were really helpful. A real surprise compared to most hotels in Paris.Lots of restaurants, bars and cafes around the hotel. Great value for money considering we went during peak season

    3
    « Nice and clean! »

Never even thought that some hotels in Paris did not have airconditioning... I suppose it IS a 2,000 year old city! The first hotel we booked did not have airconditioning.... It wasn't ok because it had been 90 degrees + a few days before and with my daughter having bad allergies we couldn't do it.. So we moved to the hotel Saint Michel... Which is in the heart of whatever you truly want to do in Paris!!! Especially close to Notre Dam!!!! It is a best western but not the kind you would think of in the US!!!! Upscale and good quality!! Also the breakfast was phenomenal!! Crepes, good cheeses, different breads, eggs to order "sometimes", espresso, cafe Americana not so good but everything else made up for that! The front desk people and the cleaning staff were awesome! However, if you are looking for a full size elevator forget about it!!! I'm 5'2" and with my luggage I could hardly fit! Strongly recommend this hotel not only for the value but where it's located!! Another word of advice when visiting Paris, we got pick pocketed the first day we arrived when taking the metro!! Put ur backpacks on your front parts!!! Always be aware of your surroundings!!!

    4
    « Great location »

Clean and great location. Easy to get to all the main tourist things to see and do. Breakfast was good, very basic, but still delicious. Elevator only fits one to two people at a time. Have the bellhop take care of your luggage, totally worth the tip!!

    4
« Good experience at a very central location »

The greatest plus of this hotel is its location which is very central. The hotel itself is certainly ok. Although the pictures on the website arrise the expectation of a rather big hotel, it is rather small. Breakfast is very good but again in a very small breakfast area. Friendly staff. I would consider staying there again.

    4
    « Great Location »

Typical Parisian hotel very centrally located. Comfortable bed and very hot water. Polite and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Having said that would have liked the airconditioner to be a bit more effective. The bathroom was in need of an exhaust fan. Room became a sauna after 2 showers and Windows hardly opened. The furnishings in need of a makeover. Tiny elevator that I would never get on.

    5
    « Great location »

Hotel situated near major tourist destinations like Notre Dame and St. Chapell. A short walk to St. Sulpice, Luxembourg Gardens and Pantheon. Behind Pantheon is St. Etienne Church whose back steps featured prominently in the move: "Midnight in Paris."

    4
    « Location, location, location. »

Solid 3-4 star hotel. Location in St. Michel is central. Close to many areas and great metro access. Rooms are typical Paris size but we were able to squeeze 3 people into a triple billed as a Chambre Deluxe. Elevator is tiny but the staff are helpful and nice. No hotel bar in the lobby (although there is a cocktail menu card displayed) -- an honor bar would be nice. Breakfast is not a very good deal at $15 Euros plus especially with many markets and patisseries just around the corner. AC worked well. Overall, this is an affordable option in the Latin Quarter

    3
    « Great location »

The location of this hotel is great, walk out the door and there is shopping, food and famous landmarks all within minutes. For us that's where it stopped. The staff weren't rude but also weren't forth coming in being helpful. The hotel itself is far from being spacious including the room and with no elevator. The wifi was slow and continuously dropping out for all four days we were there. Then there was the so called shower, after 10 weeks of staying in hotels this shower was by far the worse. It may have just been our room but either way it was a very poor excuse for a shower. We will not be staying here again.

    3
« Good service nice location just small »

Everything was ok with hotel. A.c. Went out the last night we were there so just bad luck for us. We didn't tell staff because of timing. Staff was kind and attentive. The rooms were just very small not really updated and felt cramped. Like who needs a desk in a 300 sf. Room. If you must stay near the il-de- cite then maybe it works, but I found rates a week out from the trip at nicer places for 50.oo less a night.

    « Great little hitel »

Enjoyed a short two night stay at this hotel. Well appointed and comfortable rooms and a really great location for exploring the city. The area around the hotel is vibrant with plenty of bars and places to eat. If I had a negative comment to make the air conditioning in the rooms struggled to keep the room cool during the very high temperatures which meant getting cool after a long day out was a challenge. Apart from that recommended

    4
    « Great location. »

When we arrived from the airport Charles de Gaulle, it was just to take the RER which brought us strait to the hotel. The hote is close to lots of restaurants in the Latin quarter and it is easy to get where ever you want in Paris. If you want to go to The Opera, there is a bus just outside the door, otherwise you can use the Metro. Continental breakfast with all you needed. Ours was included in the room, but if you need to buy it extra, i would go another place because it was i bit expensive when we were 3 people. A tiny lift. Clean room. Friendly staff. :-)

    4
    « Good experience! »

Usually when I'm staying in Paris I'm looking for a location that can offer an easy access to the public transport, and as possible a direct link with the Charles De Gaulle airport. This hotel doesn't make an exception, as it is located on bvd Saint Michel, few steps from the Metro & RER station. Upfront you have the Saint Michel Fountain, the Conciergerie it's across the street, and the Notre Dame church is just arround the corner. Also you can get easily to many other great parisian attractions, either by walking either with the public transport. About the hotel itself, well not to many to say, clean, spacious rooms, staff is friendly, and so far I think it is the best breakfast from all the hotels nearby, and I have tried almost all of them. As cons for the hotel: the stairs, the elevator, and possibly the price. I have booked it on their website, so I have had a better price, if not the price can easily be close to 200 eur/ night, which for what is offering is a bit too high. All in one it was a good experience.

    4
    « Great Location!!!!!!! »

The location is great. You feel right in the heart of the action. At night you could hear the street musicians playing. It is in a more touristy area so the food is more geared that way but it is still good. The staff was very nice but not overly out-going. Very small elevator and the rooms were very typical Paris (small). Breakfast was good but not worth the price. You can get a much better breakfast out on the street. All in all I would return here as it was a great location and a fun area.

    4
« Nice hotel in a very good location »

Very Parisian hotel at a few hundred meters from Notre dame and at walking distance from a lot of other Paris attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms, nothing to notice. The good breakfast may seem a bit expensive, but those served in the nearby terraces offer less choice. Public transportation is almost at the door.

    4
« Great Front Desk Olivier »

Olivier at the front desk went way out of his way to help us secure reservations at the Jules Verne restaurant, providing assistance with transportation and directions. He gave great advice regarding all our questions!

    4
    « Great location! »

Can't think of a better location if you like vibey crowds, lots of restaurants and bars/pubs to choose from. Good breakfast, can request omelettes or eggs any style along with the usual European breakfast options. Staff very friendly and helpful.

    1
    « Worst Service Ever »

We were there during the first week of June and although the hotel is very good located the people working at the front desk have the worst service. They had a very bad attitude. I would never go back to this hotel and I do not recommend it at All to anybody.

    1
« The air conditioning did not work , the staff did not care »

Room was tiny , congested, the staff at the customer service did not care to address the issue of air conditioning not working, we are from the US and stayed at this hotel for two nights without air conditioning the temperature in Paris was an average of 80 f during our stay will never stay at this hotel again, also there was a bad smell in the shower .

    4
    « Overnight stop »

Picked this hotel because of it's excellent location. Would be a good base for exploring the city and also lots of cafes, and bars nearby. Clean, comfortable and quiet room on the fifth floor. Efficient check in and out, with friendly reception staff.

    « Paris »

Excellent hotel, very good location, near Notre Dame de Paris ( 5 min ) . Metro & RER station very close, station ST Michel. Clean room and nice vue on Cartier Latin. You have room service and a nice buffet. A great variety of restaurants in Latin Cartier Wifi free very good connection. Staff very friendly and professional

    5
    « 4 days in Paris »

Great location, good service, lovely room on 3rd floor, would stay there again. Two minutes from river front and Notre Dame. Lots of good places to eat and drink around the hotel, and walking distance to many of the sights

    5
« Convenient and comfortable Latin Quarter hotel with caring staff »

The hotel is near Notre Dame on the Left Bank and located at the edge of the Latin Quarter across the street from Saint Michel Fountain. The RER-2 train from CDG Airport provides economical (10 Euro/person) rapid tansit to a stop about 100 yards from the hotel entrance. The breakfast is excellent. There is a Metro stop 100 yards from the hotel, and the Hop-On Hop-Off bus stops a block away in front on Notre Dame.

    5
    « Perfect location ~ Friendly staff »

This is in the perfect location. It is within walking distance to Notre Dame and Saint Germain and you can always easily find your way back to the hotel by the landmarks. The rooms by Paris standard are comfortable, clean and well maintained. The staff was always friendly and very helpful. We had a lovely breakfast spread every morning it was a nice way to start your day with a good selection of baked goods, fruit, eggs and cheese. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

    4
    « 3 night stay in Paris »

great location, (if you are coming from CDG airport its a direct train ), great room (most hotel rooms in Paris are a bit smaller than you may be used to), friendly staff who let me practice my French but could speak English if need be, didn't have the breakfast, lift is really, really small Hotel organised a decent value taxi back to CDG (trains on strike )

    3
    « Great location, »

Great location near Notre Dame, public transportation, tour buses and cafes. Rooms are a little small even by Europe standards. One tiny (max 2 small person) elevator so plan on stairs if your in a hurry.

    4
    « Great location! »

No frills hotel located near Notre Dame. Expect a small, but very clean and comfortable, room in a lively neighborhood near dozens of small cafes and restaurants. Very convenient access to the Metro. Breakfast was included (eggs and sausage) each day along with a nice assortment of bread, cheese and fruit. Staff was helpful and pleasant.

    2
    « Noisy Paris »

A somewhat cool reception upon arrival. We got a room on 6th floor with a elevator that fits 1 Person, and moves slow motion.Dont dare to think of a breakdown! The room itself has a good bed tho small for 2 persons. Good Matress. Bathrrom and shower need a thorough cleanen before usage. Very noisy duren day n night with police/ ambulance sirens at least every 10 min.Breakfast room to small, Kind service, croissant from a factory prolly definitly not the french quality expected. We will certainly not return.

    5
    « GREAT Hotel »

Firstly, I want to say thank you to all the staff for all their help, they are very kind and very helpfull. The hotel location is also great . You can go to subway or all the cafes, restaurants by walk. If I go to Paris again, I will choose the same hotel for sure.

    4
    « Wonderful Location! »

Well located near Notre Dame, Latin Quarter and transportation (metro, bus and RER), this small hotel is surrounded by cafes and restaurants. Though the rooms are small (aren't all Paris hotel rooms?) they are well maintained and very comfortable. With the windows closed we didn't hear the street noise at all and when opened we could here the music from a nearby restaurant during the early evening. The tiny elevator barely fits two people (we did see 3 squeeze in once!) so be warned-you may have to wait a few minutes if you can't handle stairs. Breakfast was included in our rate and we found it to have a nice variety and included scrambled eggs and sausages (bangers?).

    « Great hotel - amazing location! »

This was a fabulous, very French hotel. The rooms were very nice (great ambiance), the staff was extremely helpful, and the breakfast was elegant. We really enjoyed our time, and would definitely come back when we return to Paris. We had a great time!

    4
    « Fantastic location »

We spent 4 nights here. Tiny elevator :) We arrived early, and the staff took our luggage and stored it for the day while we enjoyed Paris. Upon our return, we found our luggage already in our room (so we didn't have to try to tetris our luggage into the elevator). The "window" opened like a door to a tiny "balcony" where we enjoyed standing and watching Paris life go by. We walked most places. We rented bikes a couple times. Took the metro several times. Dinner was always at a place we walked to. Breakfast was (I think) always at a place we walked to (like Pauls! Yum!). We never ate breakfast at the hotel. We would stay again and again and again!

    4
    « Good location »

Room size - acceptable, cleanliness - very good. Location - perfect - close to Metro Saint Michel, walking distance to Notre Dame Cathedral, Pantheon, Louvre and other attractions. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast - typical (sausages, eggs, ham, some sweet cookies, croissants etc. - coffee very good, tea - below average. All typical and acceptable for short Paris break. If price would be lowered by 30-40 EUR could be perfect with price to quality ratio.

    « Be careful »

My wife and I had planned a trip to Europe for April 2016 but, unfortunately, my wife was involved in an accident 4 weeks before our departure. We had booked at this hotel 3.1/2 months earlier using the early bird offer and paid in full when we booked January 2016. Following the accident I advised the hotel 3 weeks prior to the date of the booking that we were forced to cancel. I received confirmation of the cancellation several days later stating there was no refund as per the terms of the Early Bird offer. While I accept these conditions they are heavily weighted against anybody doing the right thing and advising we were cancelling. They had our money for 3 months prior to when we cancelled and then had the possibility of having the room availability for rebooking it. I suppose in their favour they did say they would hold our booking open until December but with 25 hours flying (one way) this was not a viable option. Next drama.. 2 weeks after they confirmed the room was cancelled they made a charge on my credit for the same amount as was paid 3 months previously but in 2 separate withdrawals. We immediately picked this up from our bank statement and, along with some pointed questions, requested a full refund of these mistaken and/or unlawful deductions. Refunds into my credit card came several days later, in 2 separate amounts, which totalled $43.09 AUD less than they deducted. The differences were possibly in exchange rates or bank charges but the result is the same. It has cost me that thanks to their incompetence or dishonesty. I have been a Best Western Rewards member close to 2 decades and have only stayed at Best Western where they had hotels. This incompetence is not to the standard of a Best Western and I urge Best Western to seriously review having this hotel in their group.

    « Great Location »

Room was adequate, smaller than what we are used to but we did not spend much time in it. the complimentary breakfast was good. The location is what made it special. So much to walk to without much effort. The staff was great, helped us with many questions.

    4
« Hotel was nice and as advertised and consistent with the other reviews here »

was on second floor, enjoyed the street view, was not bothered by the street noise. Safe was too small for my laptop. Bathroom was nice and shower worked great. No complaints & loved the Latin Quarter location. Also very close to the RER B train from CDG airport. Would recommend this place

    4
« Fabulous Location and Very Comfortable »

The highlight is definitely the location right outside Sr. Michel metro and RER line, steps from Ile de la Cité and Notre Dame, the Shakespeare and Co. Bookstore, and many of the most iconic Parisian attractions along the River Seine. There are dozens of excellent restaurants and brasseries nearby. The room was clean, spacious for Paris standards, and the staff were very helpful with any concern I had. It also has a small, comfortable lounge. Some of the appliances and plumbing were problematic during my stay on the 4th floor - tub not draining, toilet always flushing; and the bedroom - remote without batteries, cord to the tea kettle not long enough... minor things. Staff were helpful in remedying these. Breakfast is convenient, but overpriced at 16 Euro when La Lutece Brasserie across the street will do the same for 10-14. Overall, a lovely hotel that I recommend, and will return to on my next visit.

    « Nice hotel »

Location, location, location. Great, location. Room was clean and very nice. We only stayed at this hotel one night but overall we had a nice experience. The only flaw is that the staff seemed a little cold and frustrated with our questions, maybe a bit of a language barrier. I felt as if I was bothering him so I just stopped asking questions. Overall though I can't complain because the location was great and the room was very nice and clean. I found it a bit smaller than the other already small hotel rooms I have stayed in in Paris but the room was nice and smelt great.

    « Great location! »

Awesome location next to Notre Dame in central Paris. Walkable to Louvre, Orsay, Pantheon and Notre Dame- also next to metro. Not super luxury, but a is very close. Small rooms, but typical for Paris. Clean with breakfast included- the hardest part is finding the actual entrance- look for the statue of ST Michael, the entrance is to your right (not well marked) between several shops and cafes. Once you find it your all set- enjoy Paris!

    « Perfect location & friendly staff »

My wife & I went have just returned from a weekend in Paris. This was our first trip, so we were looking for a clean, well priced, friendly hotel within walking distance of sights, bars, restaurants, preferably with free wifi and with breakfast included. If this is what you are looking for, this is a great choice of hotel. I checked a few prices and this was mid ranged at €300 for 2 nights The bedroom was clean and comfortable with en suite bathroom, free safe, a mini bar and TV. We flew to CDG and took the train in to Paris. The hotel is less than a 5 minutes walk from the train station. Notre Dame is another 5 minutes walk away across the Seine and from here you can access the tourist sightseeing buses. There were plenty of bars and restaurants all within walking distance. We have stayed in many nice 4 and 5 star hotels across the World that you could spend very comfortable days in the Hotel if you wanted to. This is not one of them, but that was not what we were looking for this time. All in all it worked for what we wanted & we would recommend a stay here if this is what you need. Only piece of advice - Bring more money than you expected to bring. Outside happy hours you will be paying 9 - 10 Euro for a beer or a large glass of wine in the surrounding area

    « Fabulous location »

The room was small but very clean and tastefully decorated. It had everything we needed. The elevator is very small, not complaining , it amused us!! The staff were excellent, especially Bertrand who made reservation at a lovely French restaurant for us within walking distance of hotel. We walked to many tourist spots from here, ....Louvre, Notre Dame, etc There is a shuttle service from the airport that we did not know about until arriving at hotel by taxi, its much cheaper than taxi and we took this to airport on departing Paris .Wish I had known about it on our arrival. You need to book it 24 hours before .

    « Perfect location »

Stayed here during COP 21. Location is perfect, close to metro, shopping & great resturants. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was able to check in early which was nice after a long flight. The bed & bedding was heavenly. I slept very well. Night reading lights on both sides on the bed. The bathroom was effecient. Plenty of counter space. The toiletries smelled nice, the bathtub is deep, and the shower head was adjustable. Heated towel bar was a nice touch. Only thing I was irritated with was the blow dryer, you had to keep your grip on the trigger to keep it running, some kind of safety switch I'd imagine. Free coffee & tea in the room, small refrigerator that was stocked with assorted drinks and snacks you could purchase. Desk & lamp, free Wifi which worked very well. Closet is small, but you also have a safe. Key card locks & I liked the fact that they lock the front door around 11 pm. I ate breakfast on the first floor only once, it was a beautiful spread and tasted delicious. The wait staff was very kind, price was 16 Euros. I was on the top floor and could see Notre Dame out my window and the neighboring rooflines were straight out of Mary Poppins, so cool! If you haven't traveled to Paris before, you need to know all hotel rooms are small compared to those in the US. Pack light and send your laundry out. You'll thank me for not wrestling a large suitcase up narow staircases or into tiny elevators.

« Clean & nice location, but staff was lacking »

As far as the physical hotel is concerned, there isn't much to complain about. The room was clean, a decent size for the region, and had everything we needed. It is within about a 5-10 minute walk to Notre Dame, and located in the Latin Quarter, with numerous shops and restaurants within a minute of walking. That said, the staff was... almost non-existent. Other than speaking to us at check-in and check-out, they did not even look up as we entered the building. They would be talking among themselves, reading a newspaper... not really all that welcoming. I once had a question on how to get to a particular destination and ended up asking a cab driver because there was no one even AT the front desk (midday).

    « Amazing Location »

the Location it's awesome, and the Receptionist was so good and friendly. the Elevator is very small & was horrible noise from AC Control, but i didn't tell them cause my stay was for one day & I discovered the problem late night.

    « Silvester Trip 2015 »

Can be recommended, but who demands comfort in space shouldn't book this hotel. Everything is very tight (but clean, professionell and nice). The same is for breakfast service: well done - but inacceptable tightness between tables (ideally as training parcour for junior artistic acrobats ^^)

« Booked late and very pleased. »

Fantastic location - great access to multiple metros and regional trains, bustling neighborhood with many restaurants competing for your business, tiny but nice and clean room, marginal customer service at front desk. Slow Free wi fi needs updatingis. Breakfast was Included and was wonderful. Not sure that I would have paid 16 euro for it though.

« Decent hotel, bit worn, but great location near Norte dame »

The hotel was ok, the location was good though, right around the corner from the Norte dame and plenty of places to eat. The hotel is showing its age, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but don't expect super modern furnishings or facilities. The lift is super tiny, which is common in Paris, but an experience nonetheless. :)

    « Great location »

I booked online and they gave me bonus continental breakfasts. Staff were pleasant, gave us maps and gave directions when asked. They spoke very good English. I love the location, close to the metro, Notre Dame and good restaurants. The internet is free but a little erratic, but I found this at numerous European hotels. A kettle, tea and coffee is provided in the room. The lift is tiny but there is one. The only problem I I had was finding the front entrance the first day.

« Very rude desk clerks and bad/incorrect information on airport tranportation »

We checked into this hotel Saturday night and stayed for 2 nights. During this time we met 4 or 5 desk clerks. They were the rudest desk personnel I have ever met in any hotel I have ever stayed. Ask a question get a snarl. Just plain unpleasant people. And they made a reservation to go to the airport on Thursday that almost caused us to miss our flight. And gave us a TINY room when they had others available at the same price. And when we asked for the larger room the clerk said none available. When we checked early the next morning the new clerk said sure and moved us. We had an 0800 flight on Thursday to the airport so on Saturday night I asked when we needed to get to the airport and how long it took. The answer be there at 0600, 30 minutes to airport so leave at 0530. They offered to make and made a reservation for a private car for us and the couple we were traveling with for 0530 Thursday. Four people total. When we were picked up on Thursday by a minivan the driver told us he was picking up 3 more people and had to make TWO more stops. We complained but it did no good so we really had no choice at 0530 when our flight left at 0800 to stay with him. After driving and waiting for people over much of Paris he told us we would not get to the airport until 0700. Fortunately the lines were short and we barely made our flight. Next time I would make my own reservation before we leave home.

« Excellent Location and Service »

This hotel is located near île de la Cité and within walking distance to the Latin Quarter, the Notre Dame, Louvre, etc. The check in was prompt and my baggages were delivered while I was completing the check in process. Whilst the room was small (this is normal for hotels in Paris city centre), the bed, and the decor itself was very comfortable and excellent. The breakfast was tasty too. Overall I would rate this hotel highly.

« Great Room & Location - Pity about the Lift & Wifi! »

The location of this hotel is perfect for visiting all the main attractions in Pars. We flew in to Charles de Gaulle followed the signs for the trains and got the B SER train right to Saint Michel (c. €20 return). Our hotel was a short distance from the station. We had studied Trip Advisor and requested room 505 which we knew to be a corner room. We got 405 which was also a corner room which as you can see was a lovely bright airy room of moderate size but the two windows made the room feel bigger. The bathroom was small but fine and again it too had a large window which made it feel bigger. We were able to walk to Notre Dame, The Louvre, Saint Chapelle, Musée d'Orsay, we got the SER C Train from Saint Michel, (stop just outside our hotel), to Versailles. We got the metro to The Opera House and we got a taxi to Sacré-Coeur at Montmarte c €14. There are two negative things about the hotel. The first is the lift. I have genuinely never seen a smaller lift in my life. It says "max 2 persons" I don't think they needed to say that as you can barely fit two people into the lift. If you are in any way claustrophobic this will not be a good experience. The second negative thing is the wifi. Sporadic connection - very disappointing for a four star hotel however there is a Starbucks a few hundred yards from the hotel with excellent wifi. We did not have any meals in the hotel but there were so many places to eat right on our doorstep. Despite the lift and wifi I would stay here again.

    « Convenient and friendly »

This was the second hotel we stayed in Paris. We stayed for 2 nights in a triple room. The rooms are tiny but that's to be expected in Paris. The location is excellent, right next door to St. Michel Notre Dame metro (the same station has a direct train to Versailles, so very convenient). The room was clean and we found the service to be very friendly unlike other Paris establishments we had encountered. Very close to the river, Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle etc. The elevator is tiny- can hold one person with a large suitcase. Breakfast was more than adequate. Paris is generally expensive but we did not mind spending extra for the great location.

    « Great location! »

This is a typical European hotel; beautiful building but very tiny, lift is questionable, and worn around the edges. But you're not going to Paris to sit in a hotel room! The location is absolutely perfect. It's right next to the Metro and steps from the Seine. Many great spots are within comfortable walking distance. Skip the breakfast, it's pricey and only medium. Instead go to the Saint Severin for a lovely sit down meal or the Boulangerie Saint Michel around the corner for grab and go. It does get noisy at night, but the heavy windows and curtains blocked out all noise except the sirens (the French love their sirens...). Tons of great (and cheap) eating all around.

« Wonderful hotel in the heart of the French Quarter! »

This hotel has an excellent location and is close to the Metro. The junior suite had 2 clean, comfortable beds and a sofa bed as well as a small balcony. The staff was very courteous and helpful and the breakfast was very good. The room was amazingly quiet at night for sleeping. Very close to the river, Notre Dame and many other wonderful Paris tourist sites and walking areas. The elevator is limited so I would recommend a lower walkable floor for convenience.

    3
« Nice location but very noisy »

The location was great and very close to the main attractions. It was close to the RER B going to and from the airport. However, we were on the third floor and facing the street. It was very noisy. There was a party in front of the hotel on both nights until 4-5 am. I'm not sure if this is an ongoing situation. Finally, there was a false fire alarm at 6:30 am ( when we were finally able to sleep). We did not get any explanation from the front desk or an apology. I would recommend the hotel if you are not a light sleeper. The free wi-fi was working great. It was nice that we did not have to log in every day.

« Very nice place where to stay in Paris »

Great hotel with nice, clean rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious, you can choose whether you want to have sweet (pancakes, croissant, cake, jam, fruits, yoghurt, ....) , or salted one (baguette, french cheese, ham, vegetables, omelette, ...); coffee, tea and a super fresh orange juice! The location is awesome! There is a metro station almost in front of the hotel - you'll be able to take the direct RER C train to Versailles as well as RER B that takes you directly to the Charles de Gaulle airport. It's really easy to use the metro from here for going to almost every single monument in Paris. Speaking of the location, the hotel is in walking distance from Notre Dame de Paris, Pantheon, Jardins de Luxembourg, Sorbonne University. Hotel is located on the Boulevard Saint Michel where you can find many restaurants and bars. However, there is no need to worry about the noice, if you don't wish to listen to the sounds of the city, just close your windows and you'll have a quiet room :) The only thing I didn't enjoy that much was a small elevator in hotel. But since this was not my first visit of this beautiful city I have to admit that the elevators are really tiny almost everywhere ;) oh and the wifi connection on the 4th floor didn't work as properly as I imagined. I would definitely stay in this hotel again :)

    « Paris weekend »

Excellent location, room on the 5th floor contained everything we required, breakfast very nice but room too small when busy - probably caters for 17 max. Lift also a tight squeeze and although we are slim we used the stairs the most. If not fit and staying in a higher room others might find this quite challenging. Wifi free although quite slow at times.

« Quaint hotel in a great location »

First time in Paris, this hotel served as a great home base as it is right between the Luxembourg Gardens and Notre Dame. It is definitely a busier and more touristy area than if you were to go across the Seine or down a few blocks. However, our room was situated right outside of the main street and noise was never an issue. In fact, it was kind of nice to open the windows to hear the sounds of people playing music and cars going past. The receptionists were different each time we went downstairs, but always helpful. If you have any questions regarding tours or day trips outside of Paris, they have the answers. Breakfast was good, pretty basic but the orange juice and coffee were awesome and it was never overcrowded. Go for the location, cleanliness and free breakfast - don't expect a good wireless connection or large rooms. And a little recommendation... if you are looking for a couple of cute stores and a great restaurant check out the little cobblestone walkway of Rue Saint-André des Arts right down the street from this hotel.

« An excellent base for exploring Paris »

Room sizes are fine with good bathrooms, mini bars etc. Very clean and comfortable. Upper floors at the front of the hotel are ok re noise. Simple breakfasts supplied - an alternative is to head to the dozens of close-by cafes fronting the Seine and on the Boulevard St. Michel. The staff are very friendly and helpful (organized a pram for us - and, storage for it at the hotel). Great location for restaurants and shopping - close to Notre Dame and The Louvre, jazz clubs and, 100 metres from the Seine.

« No frills, good location »

This is a simple hotel in a good location. There is a tiny lift that barely fits 2 people to take you to the upper floors. The rooms are small, but clean. The air conditioning did not work at full blast. There was a simple buffet breakfast included. Fine, if you are not looking for anything more than basic lodging with pleasant service.

    4
    « Ideal location »

We stayed again at this hotel for its convenience. it is hard by a Metro station from which one can travel easily to Stade de France and Charles de Gaulle from the centre of Paris. It is straightforward, does the simple things well. The building's footprint is small like many Paris hotels - but the rooms are fine. it has a (very small) lift - which some do not have. Plenty of good local cafes - Le Lutece is OK. Cafe de Buci a little further off. We will go again., On the edge of the Latin quarter.

    4
« Close to local attractions! »

This hotel is great. It is close to Notre Dame, the Lovre and other Paris attractions. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly. The hotel has a mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. Our room was quite large in comparison to someone the others in Paris. There were a great deal of restaurants close by that offered anything from local cuisine, Italian, Indian etc. We would definitely stay here again.

    4
    « Better than before »

This was my second time here- and now my second review of this hotel. In my first review, I thought it was overpriced. Now, after seeing another comparable hotel in the same area, I realize it is a good value. Compared to the other hotel, the room was larger, more upscale and a better price. Had a mini fridge and nice ammenities. The first time around, the neighborhood seemed overly touristy. Now, I realize the cafe scene is unmatched and very affordable. Access to the RER to CDG is incredibly easy and convenient.

    « Great boutique hotel »

This hotel is a gem in a great location. The service from the staff goes beyong expectations and there are great restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again next time in Paris.

    4
    « Convenince and comfort »

Do not expect a US hotel and you will love this one! It was clean, in an absolutely fabulous location, and offered very good amenities for the price. This was my second stay and I would go again in a second.

    « Location! »

Spent 4 nights at this 4 star. Wonderful service, with a super breakfast. We were in a short walking distance to Notre Dame, Louvre and 3 different Metro stops. We actually walked to the Eiffel tower as well, about 45 minutes, but were able to take in many awesome sights on the way. Rooms very very clean.

« Great staff and location »

This Best Western is perfectly located in Paris. Only a half block from the River Siene and two blocks from Notre Dame, five blocks from the Louvre museum and four blocks from museum D'Orsay. Only a ten minute cab ride to the Eiffel Tower. The air conditioner in our room was malfunctioning but having never been in Europe I thought maybe the heat was considered normal. After our second night of discomfort I notified the front desk of the problem. A wonderful young lady named Claire relocated us to a top floor room with a nice view of the Eiffel Tower. She even had macaroons and wine delivered to our room with some wine. Overall the staff treated us excellently. I would highly recommend this medium budget hotel to anyone wanting to be near the attractions mentioned before.

    5
« Great location, beautiful rooms, good services »

Great location, clear and beautiful rooms, good services. Make sure not to miss their breakfast. I don't understand a single word of what the breakfast server said but he is very nice and helpful. Enjoy people watching from hotel balcony and see how Parisians and tourists alike crossing streets or eating ice cream.

« Great rooms and helpful staff »

Being centrally located, this hotel is close to a lot of major attractions. Staff very knowledgeable about the city and very helpful. I absolutely loved my room. Room attendance made sure that my room stayed clean. I would definitely stay here again.

« Good hotel in great location! »

Hotel Saint Michel is situated right of the busy area around Notre Dame and metro line 4 among others. A great and lively location. Even thought it is a lively location, also at night, the rooms are soundproof and you have no noise in the room. The hotel is of good standard. The lift is very very small and can be best used for luggage only. The breakfast room is also small and sometimes there is no staff to service....so I went into the kitchen to get my own coffee ;-) I had a train to catch, so I couldn't wait. Many place outside and around the corner for breakfast as well. A nice gesture is the express breakfast between 5-7am. The room was small, double room, but the bed of good quality. Small bathroom with shower in bath and a small fridge in the room. There is no bar in the hotel to get a drink or something like that. You are not going to spent much time in your room in Paris, but you need a good sleep! This is the excellent place for this reason.

    5
« If you want to be centrally located to the sights, this is ideal »

I'm not sure why people complain it's in the tourist section. That's exactly why it's perfect. We were only able to stay two nights, and while it's romantic to stay in a neighborhood in Paris, this hit the nail on the head for convenience. I woke early to climb Notre Dame towers, and we were so close I got in line, then had someone hold my spot while I walked back to this hotel to bring my newly awakened teenager back to the line. Right on RER B line from CDG. Clean, updated, safe, nice. I didn't use wifi as I had my own pocket wifi rented from CDG tourist desk. Breakfast was huge, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, sausage, cheeses galore, yogurt, coffee, bread, croissant etc.

    4
    « Satisfaction »

Good on the whole. The lift and the breaksfast room need to be seen to!! Hotel is very centrall to the busstop and the metro and walking distance to all the major attractions. Also all good restaurants around the area.

« Good but not Premier »

I understand it is in a VERY conveninet location in Paris very near Saint Michelle Metro station to go to Versaille or any but the spaciousness of the hotel, room, breakfast is the under Premier Hotel at Best Western standard. The two persons only elevator is the fun but not practical as you can imagine.

« Wonderful stay in Paris »

This hotel was a great location, close to restaurants, metro, RER and lots of 'must see' locations in Paris. The beds were the BEST EVER in a hotel and despite the busy location, the rooms were incredibly quiet. Staff were helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

« Location is not everything, do not reccomend »

This was an extremely disappointing experience. Checking in there was no one available at the desk. My husband rang bell and still no answer for at least 10 minutes.. I was waiting in the car with baggage as there was no where to park car to drop off baggage. I understand this is Paris and many hotels are like this, however make sure someone is available at desk to help. Secondly our air condition did not work. We called front desk and they came up and switched the air to heat. Clearly the attendant knew we wanted air as the room was warm and he understood we wanted it colder. We did not sleep the entire night as a result. In the morning the mechanic came up and switched air. and put a fan in the room (surprising for a Premier Best Western)...... Still air did not work and finally offered to switch at mid day. My husband was not available to move baggage so we opted to stay. The desk said they would accommodate with a discount at check out. When we checked out there was no note of this and the attendant needed to call manager at home who was very rude. (the manager, and also made attendant uncomfortable for calling him in the evening. We needed to check out at night as we left at 6am the next morning and did not want delays. The next morning upon leaving we left bags in lobby as we needed to walk to get our car. We told attendant we would return after retrieving car to put bags. When we got to hotel to pick up bags no one was at front desk, no one would answer the bell and finally someone came and was extremely rude saying your bags are there take them. WIFI was totally unreliable!!! Could not check in to Delta , needed to pay extra for my WIFI to do So. The hotel was also very dirty , carpet was old and staff VERY UNFRIENDLY except for gentlemen trying to help us at check out. We stayed at Best Western in Caen France which was a lower end hotel , however extremely superior in Quality. We feel Best Western should do something for having this horrible experience.
