"When one door closes, another door ...?"
Manjare15, 25 Janvier 2023

We found the hotel a tad too expensive for what is offered. Our room was on the ground floor, behind the reception down the stairs; the room was adjacent to an alley. We kept the blinds closed all the time because we didn't want passers by (typically patrons of nearby pubs and restaurants) to look in through the window when we were in. The sliding fiberglass door that separates the bedroom from the bathroom was a real nuisance. The door is a terrible idea. It doesn't close properly because of the moulding. Also, the door was broken twice. Each time the chamber maid made up the room the metal rail on which the door slides was removed from the socket in the wall making it impossible to close the (no longer sliding) door to the bathroom. We mentioned this to the receptionist the first time it happened and, to his credit, it was fixed the same evening. The second evening we couldn't be bothered to complain again. Awkward room – 2 to 3 stars. Nice (customer-facing) staff – 4 stars. Fairly handy and definitely not gentrified location – 3 stars. Breakfast – 2 to 3 stars. In summary, the hotel is not situated in the most picturesque neighbourhood, which is okay. But for €250 a night in January one does expect a certain room standard and a proper breakfast.

"Shame about the area"
Lisaxxxx68, 28 Décembre 2022

The hotel staff are lovely the room was small but nice and clean the breakfast was good with plenty of choices now the things we dint like first this hotel is advertised with a bar drinks menu in you're room ok there is no bar the fridge under front desk with minimal drink in beer coke and wine not the many spirits as advertised the area is dire had I not been with my husband I would not of stayed seems to be large population of refugees would not have been a problem had they not have been urinating in the street something we witnessed three times once in broad daylight there are homeless at the end of the street not only urinating but also feaces in the corner I also felt on edge walking about on our second day there were riots I would recommend finding a different area to stay in paris

"Great for a romantic time away!"
L6354TGsophiej, 10 Décembre 2022

Stayed here for a few days with my partner for a birthday trip away. Apart from the lack of privacy in the rooms, the hotel was immaculate. Clean room, lovely amenities and friendly staff. The hotel is also well located being a 10-15 minute walk from Gare Du Nord and 150 meters from the nearest metro station. It can get quite noisy within the immediate area, however, this usually quietens down by 8:30. We never had any other issues! I would recommend for anyone looking for a romantic stay in Paris!

"Quite place "
Silva U, 21 Septembre 2022

This hotel has everything you need-very good location, easy access to different historic places, quite area, not disturbed during night, lots of nice restaurants near by, metro just 2min walk. Breakfast is self served and you can pick from fried eggs to croissants or freshly baked cake

"Excellent little find"
527maryannet, 03 Septembre 2022

I booked to stay with my teenage daughter and my bestfriend. Staff were lovely. Room was very clean and a nice size up to some I've stated in Paris. Air con was a godsend! Room cleaned everyday...and lovely touch having the delicious biscuits on arrival, which my friend almost ate as she arrived ahead of us. Short walk from gard du nord which was perfect and easy to get everywhere as the metro is at the end of the main road. Great brunch bar around the corner called immersion. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again. Thanks for a great trip

"Not fit to be a 4 star hotel."
AidanJE, 27 Août 2022

Once inside its lovely to be in, reception fun, rooms although far too small are nicely styled. However, tiny lifts mean families take multiple trips. Toilets are clearly sized for fashion week as a normal person will find very small. We were separated into 2 rooms 3 floors apart, they seemed to think this was ok for our 14 year old son. One room has the smallest bathroom I've ever seen. These are not qualities of a 4 star hotel. After being impressed by Best Western in Italy we've been badly let down in Paris.

"6 day citytrip juli 2022"
302tijmenb, 20 Août 2022

We have stayed here for 6 days, from this 6 daytrip we had 2 days of normal airconditioning. The worker of the hotel told us to switch rooms twice to get an working airconditioning. the employee told us the manager would be there on our last day of vacation. unfortunately the manager was not present, unfortunately we have not heard anything yet. A compensation will be good.

"Wish I Had Not"
kitty526, 10 Août 2022

The concept of the hotel history is fine, and that's the end of that. The location is okay, approximately 20 - 30 minutes walk from all the major attraction areas. The walk takes you through various foodie areas and other points of interest. The hotel itself is just shabby and the staff with the exception of a front desk new hire is just awful. Disrespectful at best and I won't mention the worst. The pictures put up are not reflective of the hotel. The pictures show a fresh, clean place. The elevator is totally tiny. The hotel is under construction and as we waited our turn to get assistance guests before us and after us were complaining and requesting to switch rooms for various reasons. If you want to know what a sardine in a can feels like, these rooms are for you. You could not open your luggage and the entry door at the same time. Entry to the bathroom was a shower curtain. They did not clean the rooms prior to us arriving or during our stay. They did not replenish the coffee/tea section in our room. I would not stay here again and wish I could erase the stay that I did from my memory.

"Excellent Staff and Great Location"
natalierU9640EG, 01 Août 2022

The staff is a 10/10, specifically Hacene and Camille! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a smile. The a/c in our room wasn't working so they provided breakfast and upgraded our room the following day. The location is also great as you are close to Le Marais and Rue Montorgueil. There is also a metro stop just a 4 minute walk away!

"Lovely hotel!"
judithsX9377DK, 27 Juin 2022

We loved our stay at this hotel! Our room was small but had everything we needed in it and was very clean, with modern fixtures and fittings. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice and a relaxing, friendly atmosphere. All the staff wete helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The location is perfect! Very near the Metro station, siruated on a quiet, charming street, with nunerous different cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. We loved walking down to the banks of the Seine from the hotel, passing interesting shops, cafes, churches, patisseries and even the renowned Pompidou Centre! In summary, this is a lovely small, Parisian hotel, set conveniently in a vibrant and interesting area of Paris... we will be back!!

"A Nice Hotel"
Jh8181, 28 Mars 2022

This is a lovely small hotel located just a 30 minute walk or so to some of the city's main tourist attractions. It is also close by to several metro stations which was great to gey around the city in. Staff in the hotel were also happy to give advice about the metro etc and how to get around the city. There are also lots of nice restaurants just a short walk away as well as several essential shops (small supermarkets and pharmacies). We checked in earlier than our room was ready so the hotel kept our luggage as we explored the city for the day. Check in was smooth and the room was very nice. It was quite small and there wasn't alot of space however this didn't bother us and we thought it was actually quite nice. However, if you want more space in your room, you might need to upgrade to a bigger one. The hotel offers special request for the room e.g. champagne, flowers etc which we used for a special occasion. The hotel arranged it perfectly for our arrival. They also do breakfast, we did not use this as we had not paid for it as part of our stay but you can pay for it daily if you'd like to use it. The small restaurant area is also very nice. Overall, this is a very nice, clean hotel that ticks all the boxes. We would recommend it for anyone looking to stay in Paris that is happy to walk into the centre or use the metro.

"Clean, fresh hotel"
Michelle B, 26 Août 2021

Nice hotel overall. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Loved the king size bed- which was hard to find a hotel with a king bed. It has an elevator, and all the amenities you could need. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was affordable, and located close to 2 metro stations (less than a 4 minute walk), and multiple bus stops. There are a number of restaurants in the area, and many bars and bistros. The hotel offered a breakfast for a fee of $13 euro. It had fresh breads, granola, yogurt, cheeses, juices and hard boiled eggs. The internet was free, but had some connection issues in certain parts of the room. The a/c did not function as well as we would have liked, and when we asked the hotel staff, they were kind enough to double check the system, and reset it plus they gave us a fan which was perfect. There were 2 lare windows which opened up. Overall, a great stay at a very reasonable rate

"Good location, poor room and breakfast"
Marcin N, 06 Février 2020

The location of the hotel was great and that was what I wanted. Small room, no view from the window, in the shower I had to bend down to wash myself, I had no leg room in the toilet. Breakfast was good, although the selection was very small.

"Seriously underwhelming hotel in a dire neighbourhood"
30139, 19 Janvier 2020

On the face of the hotel and the communal areas this appears to be a pleasant small hotel, with really helpful staff. However; the room we were allocated was extremely poor. The room was so small (even by Paris standards) that the main door couldn't fully open. The shower area of the room was separated from the sleeping area by a shower curtain. The toilet was so small you could just about get into it. The pillows and bedding were certainly not 4 star standard. That said, the room and hotel did appear to be really clean, and we couldn't fault the staff at all they were great. However; the option to change rooms came too little to late as we had booked elsewhere. It never makes you feel like a valued customer when you're told that the hotel has better room they could move you into!! The area the hotel is in is dire. It is located down a side street which is dubious in daylight, we checked out early evening so I can't advise exactly how bad it gets later in the evening but to say I felt unsafe was an understatement. Avoid at all costs.

"So charming! One of the best things about my stay"
NicanorRosario, 12 Novembre 2019

Boy do I have good things to say about this hotel. First the hotel itself. Incredibly charming and cozy. Some people complain about the size but not only does this adds to the charm and magic, but also if you probably chose this hotel is because you're in Paris for tourism purposes so you only need a place to shower and sleep. With this I'm not talking bad about the place at all; I'm just saying, do you really want more than that space? Second the location. One street up is a metro station that takes you as down as the catacombs and one street down another station that takes you to the Eiffel tower. The Gare du Nord station to get back to the airport is a 15 minute walk... the location of this hotel is excelent. You will see people complaining about the diversity of the people around but don't listen to them. In fact if that's a problem to you you shouldn't even be in Paris in the third place. Third the staff. Completely nice and kind. They were my first interaction with the parisian and was a great first impression. I did my best to talk to them in French but when I was in a dead end they changed to English no problem. They gave me intel about Paris, they helped me with trash, they oriented me with subway lines an bus routes... just great stuff Overall you can't go wrong with this place. I travel alone so the hotel experience can make or break my travels. I don't know when I'll return to paris (there's a lot of world to see after all) but I would gladly stay here again The only thing I would mention is that they didn't have mouthwash but hey, some hotels have it, some don't. Go out to a pharmacy and buy one

"Good experience overall"
Eric W, 04 Novembre 2019

Bedding and cleanliness very good. Small room (but this is Paris). I would suggest asking for a room in the upper levels to avoid noise from the street at night or bring earplugs. Breakfast is a bit pricey. We had breakfast in a nearby Brasserie for half the price. People at front desk very helpful. Closeliness to the Gare du Nord makes the hotel very practical if you arrive by train.

"Efficient little hotel on a quiet street"
Seaside300572, 11 Octobre 2019

Pleasant hotel. Clean and tidy public areas and rooms. Bedroom average Paris size but well equipped. Neighbourhood is a bit edgy but hotel is on a quiet side street. Good breakfast selection. Staff are efficient and friendly.

"Nice hotel!"
Cesaretome, 01 Octobre 2019

Been to this hotel for four nights. The staff is lovely and helpful. The room is small but clean and cozy, the bed very comfortable. The are outside is definitely not the best one. Someone, of course not the hotel, should do something, there is too much degradation. Outside of the metro station of Chateau d'Eau the situation is really dangerous. Anyway I was happy to stay at the hotel.

"Clean, easy to reach and very cute hotel"
xmariemx, 26 Septembre 2019

I took my boyfriend to paris for his bday and we stayed in this hotel. The room was small but very very clean. The bed was comfortable and the room had wooden floor which I so much more prefer than dirty carpet. The bathroom was small but very clean. The only downside was the shower. It didn't have a door so when u shower you end up getting the bathroom floor all wet. Ask for extra big towels at reception if you can and leave your slippers outside the bathroom as they will get soaked. Apart from that everything was perfect. The receptionists were nice and polite. We left the suitcases there for the day as our train was in the evening. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so I can't review on that. The nearest tube station is Strasbourg Saint Denis which is 3 mins walk from the hotel. The train tickets cost €1.90 per way per person so its cheap and easy to use. I would definitely recommend this place.

"Horrible Location, Tiny Room"
Stewart W, 17 Septembre 2019

I walked from Gare du Nord which is around a 15 minute walk, but I wouldn't advise it at night. Really grubby intimidating area, even for a big guy like me. The elevator has room for one person. The room itself was tiny. I'm 6,2 and my head touched the ceiling. I had a show over bath, but had to shower kneeling because with the extra height of the bath I couldn't stand up!

"Comfortable, love the homage to Rimbaud"
Markgee20, 15 Septembre 2019

Small but the space works very well. The staff are very accommodating and love what they do. This is a boutique hotel, don't let the Best western fool you. The decor is very nice, I love the neighborhood. I was surprised at how quiet the rooms were. I slept like a baby. You have to stay if you like Rimbaud's poetry.

"Nice small hotel in the heart of paris"
mlomagno, 08 Septembre 2019

Stayed for 4 nights while attending a tradeshow. Checkin was fast and easy. The gentleman was able to give us a room very early which was very much appreciated and a pleasant surprise. Room was clean and quiet. plenty of hangers, bed - comfortable. All staff was friendly and courteous. Anything we asked or needed, they were obliging. Gym is small and simple but I was able to do a workout. Breakfast was not huge but had a nice selection of items. Coffee and tea was always available in reception area. Hotel is close to a lidl and two other supermarkets as well as the metro. The only criticisms was that the shower was quite small and there is no curtain which causes a lot of unnecessary flooding. The gym floor was quite dirty and not adequately stocked with towels. And on a final note, one of the hotel staff, Assia, was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel has a real asset when employees like her show an excellence in customer service in their job. Thank you for a very nice visit.

"Outstanding service"
Srikkanth S, 23 Juillet 2019

From the first phone call to the receptionist Aynul till check out, the service here was superb. The leadership of the Director, Ms Sandrine Lefevre clearly sets a great example. The breakfast is great and the beds are very comfortable too.

"Great hotel"
Mary H, 09 Juillet 2019

Hotel was great The rooms are small but very clean The washroom door did not close all the way The robes were a bonus Staff were friendly Breakfast was incredible We were on the main floor and barely heard the restaurant next door

"The worst location, big disappointment"
MelanieG1616, 07 Juillet 2019

We arrived in Paris on a Sunday evening. The taxi took as to the hotel and immediately we could see that the location was in a very bad neighborhood . The hotel is in between two streets with no direct access to the street. There is no way to get you luggage directly to the hotel . We did not feel safe. The rooms are very small. The bathroom does not have a tub and the shower stall so small that it's impossible to use without wetting the entire floor. No minibar and the hotel only has ice sometimes which you need to ask for at the reception desk. A huge disappointment .

"Good hotel and great breakfast"
mgscubadivers2, 26 Avril 2019

The name of the hotel changed when we got there. Not the best area of town, but the hotel itself was great, clean and very helpful customer service. Very close to the metro which we used everyday to get to the attractions of Paris and great value. The breakfast was a surprise and delicious. Anna helped me with a river cruise voucher I couldn't print and the rest of the staff gave out maps and directions on which metro to take to everything we wanted to see. So helpful. The walk to the metro was minutes from our hotel.

"Paris in the Springtime"
AlexW251, 13 Avril 2019

Chose this hotel due to its excellent location - walking distance from Gare de Nord where we came in on the Eurostar & Notre Dame and the older parts of Paris. Great transport links with 3 metro stations within just a few hundred metres, buses & taxis easily available. The hotel itself would almost fall into the boutique category with only 4 floors & 3 or 4 rooms per floor. Quite chic and on the literary theme I liked the styling. The hotel is in a passageway between major roads but is pretty quiet. The rooms are small but that is to be expected given the area but what you lose in are you gain in location - our room had a double & single bed so it made it more constraining but given the room is for sleeping in only & you should be out & about enjoying Paris. Breakfast is extra and served downstairs but was value for money and was a great surprise with the selection on offer - including cooked sausages & scrambled eggs as well as pastries, fruit, cold meat/cheese etc, really something for everyone. Lots of places around to eat & even an Aldi supermarket round the corner for those like us on a budget - we bought sandwiches & snacks for our visit to the Eiffel Tower which prevented the need for a second mortgage. Staff were super friendly & took extra time out to chat to my 7 year old son who was practicing his French which thrilled him. Refined, laid back & just right I realised I made the right choice in hotel & definitely would return.

"Poor service, front door in unsafe passageway, but well situated and nice bed"
Lucas23F, 08 Avril 2019

Let's start with the positives. The bed was comfortable. No problem with water pressure. It's a really good location - central to a lot of fun spots and close to la Gare du Nord. Unfortunately, the front door is in a dodgy passageway where people and drugs are sold, and where people are sleeping rough on makeshift beds. There is always fresh urine. When I pointed this out to the area manager, she suggested I had a problem with “mixed neighbourhoods”. As though safety has anything to do with the mix of races and cultures! Everyone of every background has a right to feel safe. I chose this hotel precisely because it is in a mixed neighbourhood and I am in a mixed couple, which she did not realise. That does not mean you should have to run the gauntlet of urine, outdoor beds and furniture and people offering you drugs and sex on the way home. I thanked her for the false lesson in “vivre ensemble”. The photos clearly show rooms have a bathtub and I was hoping to have one on checkin. None were available. However the overnight clerk agreed kindly to find one for the next day. And he said there was one. But when I raised it as instructed with the day manager, he said the promised room was not available. And all done with zero grace or tact - the worst of old-fashioned Paris attitude. The city is not really like that anymore. So beware the photos do not show anything like the reality here. And if there is a problem, do not expect the management to care. I was told to pay more next time for a bette room. Thanks, no thanks!

"Handy location - friendly service"
RJNelson50, 13 Janvier 2019

We arrived in Paris having pre-purchased 4 nights in an apartment nearby. That turned pear shape and we were left on the street with no accommodation late in the evening. We literally walked into this hotel and received excellent service. There were 5 travelers so we needed 2 rooms. The rooms are reasonably small however very comfortable. Every person we dealt with was super helpful and very pleasant. They booked our airport transfers as well. It is positioned well for either walking or public transport. I would go back.

"Every Morning LIFT not operate"
Ricky A, 26 Décembre 2018

I choose this hotel because cheaper than another hotel, but because its cheaper, the room is very very small. Bad experience since the lift not operate 3 days in a row every morning and when we want to check out and having 2 Big Baggage, we must drop from 4th floor to Ground Floor by stairs.

"Over all poor service"
stevensC195UE, 10 Décembre 2018

I am a regular guest at Best Western hotels and this particular location was near the top of the worst stays I've had. Most of the staff came across as uncaring and that I was bothering them. We asked for a extra blanket, but got a sheet, asked about getting 2 out of the 4 room lights (not working when we checked in) to get replacement bulbs, but they didn't have any (we were there 3 nights), their room literature listing the hotels amenities listed a free hotel high speed computer and printer for use, but there was no such thing, maid service didn't replace the room amenities (soap, coffee, etc). I had to go ask for them. Plus, the dirty coffee cups and glasses we used were not replaced each day...again I had to ask and then go get them. There was a mixup on our reservation about getting free breakfasts per a promotion, which we did not get and the hotel told us the promotion had expired, yet at their counter was the promotion advertised on display. So, they said they would give us a discount the next morning from 13 euro to 9 euro. We took them up on it the one time, yet at checkout they were billing us for 3 mornings at full price. Somewhat reluctantly they let us pay for the one morning at 9 euro. The hotel is off an alley, which is a little dark and the hotel did little to clean up in front of their hotel, plus it was a little noisy at night with people hanging out in the alley. I will never stay at this location again. A week later we stayed at a different BW and it was one of the best stays I've ever had at Best Western.

"Great location, average accomodation but comfy."
Emsmcneilcornwall, 21 Novembre 2018

We liked the hotel for It's location as we could happily walk to everywhere we wanted. its also very handy for several train stations. Our room was small but comfy. The staff were very friendly. the breakfast room a bit dark and unexciting and not the freshest croissants. But a nice selection of breakfast to choose from.

"Great hotel in a spooky area"
RexG_12, 10 Novembre 2018

Firstly, it's in the middle of a very narrow lane through which cars cannot pass so you will have to drag your luggage through a gauntlet of very characters. This is clearly the place where all the Africans have headed for when entering Europe. It's a ghetto and it's very scary. On the positive side, the staff are very good, both the Indian guy and the tall French guy were very courteous. The owner, Miss Sandrine(from reading other reports)....wow!.... she's so beautiful and the most wonderfully dressed hotelier I have ever seen. Our eyes met just for a moment, and my heart skipped a beat. She's so beautiful! I'll stay again for sure, great restaurants within a short walk too!.

"Hotel Faubourg Best Westren"
Expedition530841, 06 Novembre 2018

When we arrived in Paris it was evening, First visit to this city so once we entered the neighbourhood, I was alarmed at the fact that the hotel was down a narrow alley way. There were men standing at the top of the Alley that led to the hotel saying awful and inappropriate things to us, It was a very sketchy and shady area. We reached the hotel and was greeted cheerfully by the staff. Very kind. I was happy to see that the front doors were locked. Very small Hotel, Very small Hotel, both of us could not take the elevator together, our room was like a closet but functional and very Clean and it was nice to have coffee available in the room. We went out for food around the corner for fear of going to far at nigh because the area is so awful.. At the other end of the Alley of the hotel's location there were over 6 homeless people camped out by the entrance, one was inappropriate. We basically were scared of the area. By the time we were done our dinner, we came back through but they were all asleep , thankfully. The hotel put us in a room that overlooked a vent system, all surrounded by walls so that was also disappointing. The staff also charged for bottled water as the staff told us that drinking the water was not recommended!!! The room does have a safe and the shuttle service was offered but at a high cost of a taxi. But the staff were friendly, the room was clean. I probably would never stay again being the size of it and also the shady area. Disappointed.

"Great stay!"
DayTrip60136516700, 03 Novembre 2018

We had a great stay, the room is very small but efficient and cute. Very clean and recently updated. Coffee machine at breakfast to make your own espresso or cappuccino. And a nespresso machine in your room too! Wonderful visit to Paris!

"I'm not happy with what went on at the end of checkout we had 20 minutes to get to the Eurostar we had no choice but to"
Cruiser48816549884, 03 Novembre 2018

Don't think the staff know exactly what they're doing behind that desk because I don't know where anything is they charge me €20 more at the end when I checked out for something they didn't even know what it was for I feel upset and disappointed so be very careful and the breakfast is a continental breakfast not full English

"The Staff is Excellent"
Jennifer C, 22 Septembre 2018

My husband and I recently stayed 5 days in this pleasant hotel. Every hotel attendant was helpful and genuinely concerned with making our stay memorable. From giving directions, to recommendations on how to enjoy the city like a local, we were satisfied! The hotel is perfectly located to the Metro line and tourist attractions. The room is your typical minimalist European room but the hotel is well-kept. We didn't spend much time in our hotel as Paris is a wanderlust destination. I would definitely return on future visits.

"Nice Hidden Gem"
Steve-in-ONE, 17 Septembre 2018

Smaller hotel, off the main road (i.e. quiet!). Small rooms, very small elevator, but clean rooms, excellent staff, and in a good location. Very short walk to the Metro. Good restaurants within walking distance.

"Great choice for a stay in Paris"
carys d, 01 Septembre 2018

This is a great budget hotel with very good facilities. Clean and welcoming. Just by the Poisonnerie metro and a 10 minute walk to the Halle area with restaurants. 20 minute walk to The Louvre. Would definitely stay here again.

"Always nice"
Ted N, 23 Août 2018

The lift landing areas will not suit those with claustrophobic disorders, the room can be on the small side but walk down the street and view the Eiffel Tower in the street scape and it's just delightful. The breakfast is good, and the hotel in a great part of time that in today's Paris is still French.

"Small but cozy"
Elena Sofia M, 08 Août 2018

We did not get the best room, as we booked quite late for our trip, but the stay here was quite nice. So our window was headed to where the ventilation exists from the building were placed. Therefore, we were very grateful for having air conditioning in the room. However, since we did not plan to stay too much in the hotel, the experience was a nice one. It has a metro station very close by, so it was quite easy to go to all our visiting objectives via metro, without the need for buss or other public transportation. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, and always attentive that there is enough food for everyone during breakfast, which breakfast did not miss the Frech pastries, coffee and more of a continental buffet. All in all, we got good quality for the money.

"New refurbished room and attentive staff"
ScanLondon, 06 Août 2018

We stayed there for a long weekend in July. For us the hotel was conveniently located as it is 10' walk from Gare du Nord (we took the Eurostar to get there) and 15' walk to Le Marais which is the area we normally hang out. The room was new and had everything you need for a short stay (including air conditioning - keep in mind in France air conditioning only works when all the windows in the room are fully closed). Staff was very friendly and attentive. The area is very diverse and reading some of the review I could see some people felt a bit intimidated. I don think there is anything to worry, in this century we should embrace diversity!

"Worst Hotel Ever"
Sarah Q, 06 Août 2018

Don't stay here as there is absolutely nothing good about this hotel! Service, rooms, breakfast - all really bad & I haven't even mentioned location! We booked a family holiday with 6 adults & 2 children and hence booked 3 rooms. The booking was made months in advance & covered by a phone call detailing our requirements. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with a bit of a surprise, as the desk staff ( who I believe was the manager Sandrine) were not expecting any children. We were given 3 double rooms on the 4th floor which were cramped ( to say the least), the decor in the rooms was dated, air conditioning was not working and to top it all, the lift to the rooms was temperamental ( the lift doors would keep opening, when we wanted it to go up)! I had to stand at reception & beg to be moved somewhere else, where there was air conditioning for my 5 year old & 2 year old grand-daughters at least. Alexander ( at the desk) took pity on me & moved us all to their new wing with 2 adjoining rooms on the 2nd floor & one double on the first floor. The rooms were much better, the air conditioning was working (thankfully) but the corridors were being painted and it was extremely dangerous for my granddaughters with ladders, paints & equipment left lying around unattended! I will be writing to the authorities responsible for overseeing health & safety of Paris hotels as well as the Best Western organisation itself regarding this. This was a really bad experience for all of us and ruined our family holiday, which we had all been looking forward to.

"Good location-access to metro , shady neighborhood"
TexanGirl100, 23 Juillet 2018

Once you are inside, the hotel is fine. Rooms are small but comfortable, you will need to request them to clean them as often as you wish as they won't come to to so every day. Personnel are helpful and attentive. Once outside, grab your purse and embrace the adventure as it is located in a shady but interesting area. You can find food from Africa, India and elsewhere in walking distance.

"Worst hotel ever"
Jesus R, 19 Juillet 2018

If you are a tourist or are traveling for work, do not choose this hotel. It has the worst wifi that I have ever seen in my entire life, the breakfast is very expensive and extremely bad. The shower is connected to the room and does not have a door or courtain so be careful otherwise you are going to flood your room, the location is good but for that price I would rather stay anywhere else but here. I have to say that in such a globalized world, the internet is a necesity not a comodity and more for travellers, since we dont have data in Europe we depend con the wifi.

"Last Minute Stay"
CaitLow615, 21 Mai 2018

We needed a last minute place to stay for a night in Paris and we chose the Best Western based on reviews. Like others have said, it's in an interesting location, but let me clarify: the streets on either side of where the hotel is located are a bit strange but just a few blocks away we discovered our favorite area of Paris, so location was not an issue for us. The room was clean, but the walls are paper thin- you can hear EVERYTHING going on in the hotel around you. Check-in/out was easy and the hotel was happy to hold on to our bags while we explored. If I needed a place to stay in Paris and other options such as AirBnb were not available, I would stay here again.

"Good value"
joshbay84, 14 Avril 2018

Decent size room (for Paris), close to train station. Good price, breakfast was included - in a nice cozy room downstairs, with good varieties (Juice, Coffee, Bread, Crossent etc...). Area not that great, was bit nervous first time walking from the nearest station to hotel (got used to it later).Better to walk bit more and take the other station (I think Saint-Denis). Overall, good value for location.

"Nice basic budget hotel"
George B, 12 Avril 2018

This is a basic but cozy hotel, near strasbourgh avenue. Rooms and showers are rather small for larger sized people, but this is normal for economic hotels. Rooms are modern and nicely appointed interiors. Good location close to chataeu de eau metro station. Very basic breakfast selection. In summary a nice friendly budget hotel. Front desk were very helpful. Nice selection for a short stay.

"Good"
Andreia A, 06 Janvier 2018

Daily cleaning is good, comfortable beds, we stayed in a small room but very quiet, has a good breakfast. The service provided by the employee Cristhian was excellent. The location is excellent, you're next metro.

"Nice and cozy"
RanB1, 06 Décembre 2017

We visit paris and stay at this hotel for 4 nights, the room was small and clean, the bed was comfortable. He had a window to a wall with no view at all. To the good side of it, its was warm. Hot water was all the time. In the room is a nesspreso coffy machine with 2 capsule?no tea). Its close to metro no. 4, but the neighborhood was not very welcom. The breakfest was nice, tasty bread, egg, ham, very good brie cheese. The worker was very nice and helpful.

"Decent for a weekend break"
FrankM1980, 18 Novembre 2017

Stayed here for 2 nights while having a city break in Paris. The hotel is situated near Poissoniere metro and only a short walk from Gare du Nord. The area is perfect for strolling around with lots of good places to eat as you head south. Also only 20-30min walks to Sacre Coeur or Les Halles. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. We had room 401. The room was clean and well presented although the wet room/ shower room was a bit small. Shower hose was leaking and didn't get changed despite complaining to the front desk. Beds comfortable enough. Breakfast is a mix of pastries, fruit and yoghurt/ reasonable. Overall fine for a couple of days.

"Always a nice place to stay in Paris"
Lucia Elsa P, 24 Octobre 2017

I was in this hotel several times and I come back because I like the ethnic, lively area, the staff is professional and helpful, the room may be small but always cozy, the breakfast has a good variety of choice. What else? This time I was in a room for disabled, being much bigger than usual. I adore the feathers lights!

"Basic hotel. Superb location"
Abhishek S, 28 Septembre 2017

The hotel is at a walkable distance from Louvre and Notredame (2.5kms) and has a bus stand and metro stations in the vicinity. To and fro from the hotel is easy. The hotel is quite close to major stores like H&M, C&A etc and has tons of restaurants, pubs around it which adds to the convenience. The hotel is right next to Lidl which allowed us to purchase a lot of basic items easily. A couple of Indian restaurants next to it helped us immensely! The rooms are basic and a bit cold but adequately furnished for a short stay. Do not expect luxury here. The staff is pretty courteous and helpful. Breakfast is a basic spread. Costs about EUR 60-80 from Airport depending upon the time of travel. Recommended for a stay is looking to stay on a budget and would like a hotel with good connectivity.

"Cold room, cold shower"
AnnoyedBrooklyn, 21 Septembre 2017

I was booked into this hotel for a small conference, so it was not my choice right off, but when I arrived it seemed clean and reasonable, if a bit over designed. The first night it was a bit cold out (50F/18C) so I turned on the heat. In the middle of the night I woke up shivering with cold. The heating system had been set to 28 and yet it only blew out icy cold air. When I informed the staff of this on the second night they claimed they could not fix it that night because there was only one person to "man the desk" and this was at 8pm. The second morning I awoke to a cold shower. I let the water run for 20 minutes with no change in temperature., and they do not handle laundry on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. As further annoyances their WiFi is free and terrible, breaking several times per night as I attempted to do conference calls The staff seem uninterested in addressing any of these issues. I will not stay here again.

"Pleasant stay "
sudeshna26, 11 Septembre 2017

Hotel is good. Me and my husband stayed here for 3 nights, our room was a cozy little room with basic facilities of air conditioner, coffee maker, locker. Bathroom had hair dryer, was amazed and amused to see no door for the bathroom...lol.. Breakfast was Good. Breakfast area looks small and cute. Very helpful and cheerful staff at the breakfast area. For indians, there are many indian restaurants nearby, the nearest being just next lane. The hotel is very close to the train station which is a good thing. Seems little unsafe during the evening but it just seems....we never faced any issue. Hotel staff was welcoming. We even got breakfast packed as we had to leave very early. Overall a pleasant stay..:)

"First time visitors in Paris"
Joyce K, 23 Août 2017

very disappointed. We usually try to stick with Best Western hotels when we travel as we like a clean reputable establishments without having to break the bank, but this location was a true disappointment. Pictures look very nice, but infact very dirty. They febreeze to mask the musty carpet smell. Their breakfast room is small, which is fine, but there is no little air circulation and the sanity of their food items are questionable. Some of their staff are very helpful, while others answer you with the bare minimum. Advised by a local taking us to the airport at the end of my trip that tourists should stay away from this district as that is not the safest (actually the worst district) to be in. Even though we were quite close to all major destinations, one should try to find a place closer the arc du Triomphe. There are no nearby amenities to buy water, fruit or snacks as the hotel does not have vending machines to accommodate. It is not safe to walk the streets in the evening. There are very few restaurants to get a quick bite if hungry. Definitely not a place for female and children travelers. As regular travelers and open to all cultures, I did not like the location at all and felt that is was not a safe place to be. We didn't open the curtains at all. One of the main reasons why I picked this location is bc we are loyal to BW and bc they allowed a 3rd person in the room when all other hotels asked us to book a second room. If I knew what I got myself into, I would have gotten a second room at a different location.

"A great hotel with excellent staff"
jmarkob, 21 Août 2017

This hotel is in the heart of Paris. If you think the heart of Paris is the Eiffel Tower or the Champs Elysee, you probably don't know Paris that well. A couple of minutes from Strasbourg Saint-Denis, you are at the lively heart of real Paris where people and cultures and foods and nightlife mix to create a fantastic place to be. The hotel itself is modern and well kept. Our room as a decent size for Paris - which means that if you are not used to Paris, you may well think it is small but, the more you come here, the more you understand the architectural and structural reasons that hotel rooms are not the size that they are in other countries. As it is, it was a good size and had good facilities including a Nespresso coffee machine. The beds were comfy and the aircon worked! The bathroom was smart and they had a good selection of shampoos and *hurray* actual soap bars (take note other hotels!). At night, the area outside was quiet - which is rare in this area of Paris but is a benefit of this hotel being off the main road and not on it! Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. A buffet affair served in the cellar with bread, meats, yoghurts, cheeses, eggs and cereals. If I had one gripe, it wasn't with the staff or the hotel - it was with the other guests. Before you start shouting at the staff for things like hot milk - actually shouting at them - firstly, check your manners because they are people just like you and could do with being shown some respect and, secondly, maybe check the big thing of hot milk yourself? Some people could really do with a crash course in how to behave when out in public! Anyway, back to the hotel. All the staff were generous with their time and information. They were friendly and only too willing to help. My usual preference is for Accor hotels (Ibis or Mercure) and I think this is my first Best Western - certainly my first in many years - and it has made me rethink how I book. I would come back here in a heartbeat - in fact, I can pretty much guarantee that I will be back this year at least once. My son rated it 10 - even when I told him that the scoring was out of 5!

"Ok - not more than that"
atslenam, 26 Juillet 2017

The hotel os well located an near the gare de l'Est and Notre Dame. At check-in we were friendly welcomed. The hotel has a modern appearence but you notice that it's become old and a renovation should be done. The room was very small. When we arrived the coffee machine and dishes in the room were dirty. In the toilet no soap/shampoo in the shower. After the next day cleaning in the morning the soap/shampoo bottle was still empty. A toilet brush was also missing. I had to ask for one in the reception. The receptionist wasn't very friendly and gave me a improved, dirty brush. Breakfast is in the cave. Only a few tables are available and if you have bad luck you don't find a free place (was our case on one day). Options are very limited: some juices, coffee and milk, bread (baguette croissant and toast), some yoguhrts and cooked eggs. All in all I don't think this hotel deserves the 3 stars. It is more 2-2,5 stars.

"Can't recommend because the wifi was so terrible"
TravelerFromTokyo, 20 Juin 2017

Mostly adequate hotel about 15 mins walk from Gare du Nord and 30 mins from most north bank tourist stuff. Sketchy area, but convenient. Clean enough and the rooms, while tiny, are adequate. Big problem is the wifi. You have to fill out log-in forms on every device, each day. Then, if you're nonactive on any device for 5 minutes, it logs you out and you have to log back in again manually. If you depend o being available to people calling on Skype or other VOIP apps, this hotel will not work for you. Even if you just want to surf the net and check mail, it's a problem.

"Unacceptable handling of 'confirmed reservation'"
John R, 12 Mai 2017

I reserved a room for tonight via Booking.com. When I arrived at the designated time, I was told that Booking.com had made an error and that there were no free rooms after all - despite the fact that my hotel was fully paid in advance and fully confirmed. I was then taken to a neighbouring hotel which the receptionist said was in fact 'the same hotel' and of a comparable standard. My heart sank when I first saw it: the outside suggested 'fleapit', and although it turned out to be better than it, the standard is very low - far lower than that of the Best Western. I would never have chosen to stay here otherwise. Furthermore, and unsurprisingly, the cost of the 'new' hotel is much lower than that of the Best Western, but as I had prepaid for my room I have ended up being charged €100 for accommodation of little more than fleapit quality! I have to wonder whether Best Western was able to sell my original room at a higher price than the one I had reserved at Booking.com, and it then moved me to a cheaper, inferior hotel, pocketing the difference. I have reported this to Booking.com and hope that anyone else with similar experiences at the Best Western will do so as well.

"Good location in paris"
monkfish3366, 21 Mars 2017

Hotel is in a good location had the metro + buses and shopping near by and good bars + restaurants the room in the hotel was very clean and had a coffee machine for the morning time the continental breakfast was not bad either + the hotel staff very good & helpful

"Fantastic Stay"
Tina S, 04 Mars 2017

Super Service Minded Staff & Clean Rooms! Right from the moment we arrived the staff was not shy to ask us questions about our stay and what we planned for our visit. They then took the initiative to research the best and most affordable ways to go about our sightseeing, leisure activities, routes on where to walk around the city, bus/train routes and restaurants They helped my husband to find places to play poker and helped me to find the best way walk to get to my course at L'ecole Vancleef & Arpel. Having them google search for us in French made our trip so much more relaxing because it was less headache for us because then we didn't need to think about if we were making the most affordable and logical choice. Wonderful Staff!!! The rooms were clean and tidy, nothing out of the ordinary spectacular but cozy.

"Nice staff, nice comfortable hotel, very good location and connectivity"
MilesandSmiles N, 27 Février 2017

This is a convenient hotel if you are keen to have Indian Food only...then a visit to Passage Brady ( I have done a separate review of a Pondicherry Restaurant) which is 2 streets away from this Hotel. Apart from that some rooms in this Hotel are very small and none have any cupboards...so Ok for short stays...Coffee machine is very helpful in the room with refills everyday....Very close to Starsbourg--Saint-Denis Metro.. and good connectivity to most attractions in Paris by Metro or Bus...Do but a 2-3 days bus pass since there is lot of travelling by these modes to be done.

"Not to bad "
Douglas A, 11 Décembre 2016

hotel itself was a bit hard to find as it's down an alley but apon arrival the receptionist was great . very friendly and polite. room was good size and was clean but carpet had a stain but you would get over that. bathroom was very nice . air con was great as it was +29 for our stay. breakfast was a good selection and very tasty . a few tips for any future travelers as beware of pick pockets as on the last day a group tried with me close to the hotel but I got tips from YouTube which helped but from that time I did not feel safe. and on the last day we we had trouble printing tickets from the lobby computer and the receptionist helped . he tried for 20 minutes and I apologised for the trouble..he said to me oh no surprise no trouble I am here to help you as it is my job .... honestly I loved this as it was great hospitality as I also work in a restaurant. there was a say block party outside the hotel on the last night also but we had a evening flight so it was not to bad and the music was good and they stopped at 23:00 so was OK. I loved staying in this hotel and I would stay in it again but the location is not the best.

"Hotel Summary"
Alan M, 29 Octobre 2016

We expected and got a small room for our 3 day trip. The room was clean and functional. There is a currently a bit of resentment being shown towards British people in France. Our party of three had to set our own breakfast table for three persons each morning. The usual set up was tables of two and as we were down for breakfast each day we thought they might have set a table for three to accommodate our party, they didn't. Perhaps we expected too much... We also paid in advance through the Best Western Central Booking office and included breakfast in our payment. The hotel charged us again for breakfast and getting the benefit of the doubt was not going to be an option. The rude receptionist was not going to give us the benefit of the doubt and in the end I paid the extra and the Best Western Central Office refunded the money when we got home. I'm finished with France as we spent three days being concerned about pick pockets and thief's and rude locals with anti British attitudes.

"Always good"
Michel99, 16 Octobre 2016

Always a pleasure to stay here. Rooms are small but all you need is there. Very clean rooms and a simple but pretty good breakfast. The lady serving the breakfast is very kind. Sophia the manager is always very welcoming. This time I missed the fresh orange juice and the nice coffee machine they used to have. Nevertheless the coffee they served was good. I will be back again. Thank you for the pleasant stay.

"Great little hotel"
Lauren G, 13 Octobre 2016

The hotel is modern. The room is small, but cozy. The Nespresso machine was a major plus. The bathroom was surprisingly large for a European hotel. The hotel is in a very central location between Gare du Nord and Notre Dame just off Strasbourg Blvd.

"Convenient and peaceful - but best for very small people!"
RevdIain, 16 Septembre 2016

The hotel is a a short walk from Strasbourg-St Denis Metro station and not too far from Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est - but in a quiet pedestrianised street in what is a very busy and vibrant part of the city. The bed was comfortable but the room (23) was extremely small. In fact we have never had such a small hotel room. I collided with the TV on the wall on one occasion and we really had to creep round the (large) bed in order to avoid colliding with other furniture. The shower itself is fine but the toilet is tiny and opening the door get in and out of it was quite an exercise. The tap on the sink was unnecessarily complicated - oh for an old-fashioned tap that you just turn on and off! I guess the economics of city centre hotels means that you have to cram in as many rooms as possible but this did seem extreme. That said, it was convenient and not bad value at 99 euros including breakfast which was a good buffet.

"Tight room"
Sergio C, 07 Septembre 2016

I've been to this hotel already one year ago. Last time i was positively impressed by this hotel, as it was freshly renewed. Rooms are small (but this is Paris). However this time i must say I have been negatively impressed. The room already looks old, paint is cracked on the wall in many areas, and is peeling off around the shower. Moreover I could almost not fit in the shower, as the ceiling there was a mere 1,85 at max. A pity for what looked like a nice renovation.

"Such a nice place"
SaraScognamiglio, 26 Août 2016

I really appreciated this hotel. Rooms are comfortable, clean and well-furnished. The first time I met the receptionist, she seemed to be really nice and she was also pretty good at speaking English (not really common in Paris). The hotel is also close to two metro stop, one of these is Strasbourg Saint-Denis, which is connected to the centre of Paris. I would absolutely recommend it.

"Awesome service!"
Mandyvdb, 24 Juillet 2016

I stayed here for 3 days in July. On leaving, I forgot to empy the safe in my room. I was enroute to my next stop in Germany and asked my son, in South Africa, to liase with the hotel to organise to send my belongings on to me. The hotel was extremly helpful an effecient and one day later my belongings arrived via courier to my next destination. I had an early start the one day and the kitchen organised that I could have breakfast earlier than the usual breakfast starting time. They really went out of there way to please! The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very conveniently located. Close to Strasbourg St Denis metro. There is a convenience store close by and lots of pavement cafes. The rooms are small but modern and well-priced. I would stay again and would definitely recommend the hotel.

"Excellent"
brankoj777, 19 Juillet 2016

Excellent location, some minutes walk away from Marais. Hotel looked brand new, rooms really comfortable. Very helpful, nice and professional staff! Welcome was really quick and departure very smooth. Hotel had all that I needed.

"Good value for the money"
John P, 16 Juillet 2016

We stayed here for 3 nights with some friends while visiting Paris. Rooms were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well and the breakfast was very good. Location was close to the Marais district which was handy for us. Staff was friendly but the only glitch we ran into is that they originally put us into a room which had recently been fumigated (why I'm not sure but I'll have to guess it was for bedbugs). Surely they must have have known that and were hoping we wouldn't notice. After they changed our room, the new one was great. I would recommend this place but be careful they don't try to stick you with a substandard room.

"No complaints!"
debbz35, 10 Juillet 2016

Read a few previous reviews and arrived a little apprehensive, however soon relaxed! Found this hotel to be in. Great location, OK your not next to all the attractions but you do get to see a different part of Paris! And enjoy some cheaper foods! Hotel easy to find from Gare Du Nord, 10 min walk. Our room was very nice, not massive but plenty of room, we were thankful for the air conditioning as it was high 20's during our stay-only negatives were shower had no screen so water did get everywhere and you only got 1 towel each! Coffe machine a nice touch, an English TV channel would have been nice. Just round the corner is Strasbourg-Saint Denis metro station, we walked to the Eiffel tower, took us a little less than 2 hours but was a lovely walk, down to the river and turn right, just follow the river. 20 min walk to Notre Dame, head the down the road. we had a lovely time and we're glad we chose this hotel, otherwise we wouldn't have visited this end of the city, canal Saint Denis is also lovely-head up the road the right for that one. Arrived back late a couple of nights and never felt unsafe and never got bothered by anyone.....book this hotel, you won't be disappointed!

"1st trip to Paris"
K V i, 09 Juillet 2016

Pros: The hotel staff was very nice, welcoming. Room was clean and nice. I slept like a baby but our friends who were three floors up heard sirens all night. Location: You get what you pay for. Not the best location many people out trying to make a hustle but they did not openly bother you like the sellers at the Eiffel tower. We had to walk pretty far to all the tourist attractions. This was the only drawback we found. We found the hotel staff to be very accommodating. Upon arrival, we didn't find the first room to our liking. The front desk man happily took us around to see the other rooms and again, happily changed us to the one we preferred. This was our first stay in Paris. We found the front desk staff happy to book tours and taxis and make recommendations to us, all of which we enjoyed.

"Average Hotel....Good Location"
bechandan, 29 Juin 2016

The Hotel has average facilities and below average room size but the location is good..very near to major station - Gar dl' East station (RER + Metro). It is not one of the premier hotels of Best Western group but the tariff is not very far from the premier Best Western Hotels.

"Nice hotel in a very run down area of Paris!"
David T, 08 Juin 2016

This hotel was very clean. The rooms were small but provided everything you could need. The staff was extremely helpful. If this hotel could be picked up and moved, I would stay there again. The area though was very questionable. Although we didn't necessarily seem unsafe, there were homeless people sleeping on the corner just down from the hotel and there was nowhere nearby that we wanted to eat at - due to the area being questionable. We had a room on the first floor overlooking an alley. The room was VERY warm even though they advertise they have air conditioning. We could open our window to get air (although no screens in windows), but there was a Tandoori restaurant in the alley. This made it difficult to open windows because of noise from outside diners and the strong smells from the restaurant. If I could re-do I would have paid double the price to stay closer to the actual center of Paris -- ie) Eiffel Tower, Latin Quarter. I felt I was leaving Paris every night to go to my hotel. Think visiting Manhattan and taking the subway every night into the Bronx to your hotel!

"Good hotel better than it looks...."
Smeg1, 18 Mai 2016

Walk up and unassuming hotel. Reception small but actually pleasant seating area around. Lifts are poor and they need to look at these to improve the feel - this will go a long way Rooms clean and pleasant. Big bed. Odd shower is open in the room but it is all good and clean. Not sure misses would be keen showering behind a screen as I watched TV.....?!! Good value, clean with polite staff

"3 night stay.... "
Nikki F, 17 Mai 2016

Last night here... Bed is perfect the room size is excellent couldn't ask for a nicer room. Hotel is in central location walking distance to most things we have walked miles! Would stay here again if we come back x

"Great location and great room"
Kasper S, 04 Mai 2016

The hotel has a very central location and even though Paris is a big city you can walk to most things. The room was very nice, it has a big bathroom with all the necessary stuff and the bedroom also had a great size with a good bed, coffee machine and television.

"Very good value hotel in Paris"
Garry B, 23 Avril 2016

We stayed at this Hotel for two nights on the 4th and 5th of April 2016.My wife and I had room number 26 and other members of my family had room 27 both together on the 2nd floor. The receptionist was very helpful and asked if we wanted two keys to each room or just the one, we thought two would be better. We were checked in and given a brief rundown of breakfast times and the breakfast room, along with other details about the hotel. Unfortunately we were informed that the lift to our floor was broken awaiting parts, but this was not a problem as we only had cabin sized luggage and the stairs were not too many. On entering the rooms we found them to be very clean with T.V., alarm clock that also had a built in charger for the ipad, coffee maker and safe if required. The bed was very comfortable and the room not at all cramped like some of the other rooms reviewers have stayed in. We had a double room and next door had a triple room with one double and one single bed. The shower was very powerful and the whole room seemed to have been recently decorated. Breakfast was of Continental type but was plentiful and had a varied choice of meats, cheeses, bread, eggs, cereal, yogurt, tea and coffee and was self service in a quaint underground cellar. On the day of departure the Hotel has a secure luggage room for guest use where you can leave your belongings for free until nearer your flight time, which is a nice gesture on their behalf. Overall this Hotel is very clean, well kept with good staff and within about five minutes walking time to two Metro stations( Chatteau d'Eau and Strasbourg Saint-Denis.) Personally I would suggest using the Strasbourg station for this Hotel as the overall area seemed better from there. I had no problem with this Hotel and would recommend as a good value base for exploring Paris.

"Very nice place"
Martin F, 10 Février 2016

Friendly place at the right place in PARIS. Clean and cosy rooms, perfect staff near theather and Brasserie FLO. Lot of Bar . SUBWAY South North ans Est West in 2 minutes Great time in Best Western Saint Martin and enjoy

"Compact Rooms."
Samyjay88, 19 Janvier 2016

Ok so the rooms are really small. I mean so small that with a double bed you couldn't walk straight at the end to get to the bathroom. Or lay your bag out to get anything out of it. (Not ideal for a couple with 6 weeks worth of luggage in tow!) In saying that the room was clean, check in was easy and staff were always friendly. When we checked in the bin in our room still had stuff in it and the coffee machine hadn't been replenished from the last visitors. Not big issues of course, and the small rooms I understand is common but not being able to walk past your bed properly! I would stay here again, a few little things but not big issues in the scheme of things really :)

"Good value"
t0minealing, 19 Octobre 2015

Admittedly not in the best part of Paris in terms of the locals, the hotel is in a great location for exploring the city with great transport connections. It is also within walking distance of some of the best restaurants in Paris. The rooms are fairly small but clean, well appointed and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful which makes a difference. All in all a really good place to pitch base camp and explore the city.

"OK hotel, warm room"
Stian L, 14 Octobre 2015

Stayed here for 3 nights in october. The room is ok, a little small, but overall decent for a Paris hotel. Some sloppy washing and a tub that would not empty without prying open the drain. Also the air condition was on full blast when arriving late at night which resulted in a very warm room to sleep in. The front desk told me that since it was winter you could not turn the air condition on, but it was on full blast pumping warm air into the tiny room. We turned it off and opened the window but right outside the window was a ventilator pumping warm, smelly air back into the room. Not a perfect start to our stay.

"Rooms are to small"
sb01362, 02 Octobre 2015

Nice little hôtel, friendly staff strange neighbourhood but it is OK... If you get a room on the fifth floor try to change it... The rooms are under the roof and you have to bend over to walk in it (see uploaded pics) Overall score 3/5. Didn't try the dining room as our stay was only room with breakfast. Free WiFi, à complimentary bottle of water available. I Was waken up by the alarm clock of one of the neighboor rooms.

"Room had a poltergeist (haunted)"
Dannyk90, 03 Septembre 2015

My pillow that i put on the floor got thrown at me when I just laid down at night. Other than that the hotel is really nice and the breakfast too! There were building noises that started at 6am or something stupid.

"Cute place"

A cute modern looking room. A few minutes (by walking) from Chateau d'Eau metro station. A good selection of food for breakfast. Very good wifi connection. Quiet lane. Only 1 complaint for the room I had: someone might have forgotten to install a shower curtain/door and the water splashed everywhere into the bathroom. There's a convenience store just a few steps away.

"Awesome location!"

We caught the Eurostar from London to Paris. From the train station we decided to walk to the hotel. It wasn't that far at all. Checking in was a breeze, and the dude at the desk was super helpful and friendly. The room was clean and a bottle of water was waiting for us, nice touch. The dude at the desk said we could ask him for a larger, colder bottle of water if we wanted because we found the aircon to be a little weak. The location was perfect as we like to walk around and soak up the cities we visit. Breakfast was substantial too! Would totally stay again in the future. Thanks for having us!

"Great Hotel Employees!"
Cynthia T, 27 Août 2015

My husband and I can't say enough good things about this hotel, especially about the people who were responsible for our comfortable stay. Besides needing help regarding things we expected--directions in Paris, restaurants in the area, etc., we also found ourselves with a medical emergency during our stay, and so much appreciate the compassionate help of the hotel employees, especially Sophia who was so warm and friendly. This is an out-of-the-way hotel--not "boutique" but on a quiet side street in the 10th arrondissement near Strasburg and St. Denis, built in the late 1800s. Is it "romantic"? No chandeliers, no gilt-edged Empire furniture, only a great breakfast and a small room with a tv and a bathroom with shower where we slept and talked and launched our museum visits from. Nothing special, really, but the staff made it so. They called the "pompiers" [EMTs in Paris] when we had the medical emergency, they used their computer to get us passes for attractions. For the price we'd say we were treated like VIPS.

"Quiet, clean, comfy in central Paris."

Great location, clean, friendly, quiet! We had a short stop over in Paris (2 days in mid-July) and wanted something relaxing, cool, and quiet after a long trip. We found this hotel through Trip Adviser (googling around for locations in the neighborhood so we could be near Gare du Nord for travel to CDG airport.) What a gem! because it faces onto a 'passage' rather than main boulevard, it was surprisingly quiet. Didn't want to mess with metro for the short stay and didn't have to -- though it's right at corner. We could walk to lots of great shopping, restaurants, canal, etc. Room AC was excellent! (if you're American, you know how fussy we can be about our climate control.) I should say that we had an "executive" room (king bed), so i can't speak for other type of rooms. Since we were leaving early, we ended up using hotel shuttle service ($16 at the time), which got us to CDG within an hour. Any later in day, i'd opt for metro/train. Basically, it's a wonderful small/urban French style hotel in an accessible location, helpful staff and quiet in the midst of the Parisian hub-bub. Other amenties like charming small lobby, 24 hour access/coverage, made it a worry free experience.

"New modern comfort!"

This hotel is new, fresh and clean. The room was large for Paris, and the bathroom very large and well appointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke fluent English. When there was a glitch in my internet connection, the staff went well out of their way to help - the manager personally assisting until the issue was resolved. I found it difficult sorting through the dumpy Paris hotels and so chose this one at a higher price. Now I am glad I did pay the extra, my stay was brilliant, and I would definitely stay here again.

"Comfortable, convenient and quiet"
Julie I, 20 Juin 2015

The score would have been higher, but the room was tiny. Reception seemed to be expecting just one person but the room would also have been tiny for one. The new, clean and powerful shower needed a curtain or screen, as it was impossible to wash and not drench the floor. The staff were helpful and friendly and the location was very convenient. Note, there were big groups of men hanging about and sadly lots of homeless people sleeping out on the main road.

"Weekend Get Away Near Gare de L'est"
Wendy J, 26 Mai 2015

We took the train from Luxembourg to Paris and wanted to stay near the train station. This hotel is about 1/2 kilometer from the train station, close to 2 metro stops and within walking distance of the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Ile de la Cite. The rooms are small by US standards but roomie for Paris. We had a queen bed in our room and a small single bed for our daughter. The room was very clean, the staff helpful and polite. The location was perfect for us since our focus was on on museums this trip.

After looking at all the positive reviews on tripadvisor, I decided to book a room for 2 nights in this hotel. The hotel is conveniently placed in a quiet street and very central, which is ideal. I...

"they need improvement"
Paul R Mr V, 24 Octobre 2014

Bad location small (they said large) rooms poor breakfast for the price rough neighborhood hard to get to ... on a closed side street. Not in the safest part of town ... could use a lot of improvements to meet what I have seen from other Best Western Hotels ... their standards.

"Great Value in Paris!"
Mark L, 29 Juin 2014

The Best Western Faubourg Saint-Martin is a great value for a family of 3 traveling in Paris. We chose this hotel because it allowed 3 of us to stay in a single room, located between 2 Metro stops (Chateau Deu, Strasbourg St. Denis) that made travel to tourist sites easy. The hotel staff was fantastic, friendly, and accommodating. Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and had excellent climate control and free high speed internet. We did not try the hotel breakfast, choosing instead to buy from local pastry shops during our daily trips. As other reviewers have mentioned, this hotel is several blocks away from the main tourist area and therefore you do see a change in the type of people and small shops around the hotel. We did not have any problems, however.

"A convenient base"
586marke, 01 Juin 2014

The hotel served its purpose as a good base for exploring Paris. The service was fine. Only negatives were the room being very small and the district was a bit seedy but tell me a major city that doesn't have those areas. Bottom line is that I would probably go back.
