    « nice room, a bit awkward »

I stayed on a business trip last year, I arrived fairly late at night. The receptionist was distracted enough asking me more questions than I really found necessary, that he gave me a keycard, and forgot to give me a key to actually lock the door. I went up to the room, and not ten minutes later when I am preparing for bed, he knocks on the door to see if everything is alright. The next morning, I couldn't lock my door, so I packed up all of my bags to take with me (even though I planned to stay two nights), to find out at the front desk that there is a key to lock the door. The hotel itself was very comfortable otherwise, and this was a year ago, so perhaps the staffing has changed. But it's important to remember to get the key to lock the door if you stay here, instead of confusion in the morning.

    « Pat Johnson »

3 night stay for 2 people. Excellent location close to bustling area of restaurants and bars. Within easy reach of 3 metro stations giving easy access to the heart of the city. All the staff of the hotel are efficient and professional but above all very welcoming and extremely friendly. On our arrival they organised our return transfer at a very reasonable price and everything went very smoothly The room was spotless and fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, tv,radio and free wifi and a safe The breakfast was very good and very reasonably priced and the lady in charge was very helpful and friendly I would recommend this hotel

    « Okay hotel »

I stayed for 3 nights, the rooms are small, cosy, and clean. The downside for me is that my room was facing the street with many cafes and bars open til late. All I can hear are people talking and screaming into the late night. The area is close to Gare du nord station, quite a sketchy neighbourhood, I'm a solo traveller and my first thought was that I felt a bit unsafe walking alone.

« Small but pleasant, good location »

Was quite surprised how small the room was at first, and I wouldn't recommend if you are claustrophobic. The window was like a loft window and gave us a direct view into someone else's apartment, and them a direct view right into our bedroom/bathroom, but this wasn't too much of a problem as we just shut the blind. Considering the amount we paid it was a clean, pleasant stay. Comfortable bed and nice modern bathroom, what more can you want? If you're staying in Paris to explore and like us, will only use your room to shower and sleep then this place is perfect. It's in a good location in the 10th arrondissement; a 15 minute walk to both Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est with plenty of bus stops about. Also lots of quaint little bars and restaurants nearby. Wouldn't necessarily stay again as next time I'd like to stay in a different area of Paris, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone on their first trip.

« Friendly staff, good location. »

A nice clean hotel in a central location. When we first arrived the area looked quite intimidating and we were a little concerned. However after we had settled in and got our bearings we were more than comfortable. The rooms are very small but well designed, with everything we needed. The gentleman on reception (Maurice) was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again. Also there is an amazing pizza place 2 minutes away (papelli). Only negative: the lights in the room seemed to have a mind of there own.

« Its Okay just a huge step down from the Best Western in Milan and Certainly Not 4 Star »

There is no way on god's green earth that this hotel is 4 star no way. Its is maybe 2 and that is being generous. The rooms are pokey and very noisy especially if your beside the lift and the bathrooms are tiny. The positive points are the staff are wonderful and friendly and the room service is very good. We came in late in the afternoon and had pasta if was very nice. We only paid 76 euro's for the room but it was booked because we thought it would be the same as the Hotel in Milan its not!!

    « Excellent location »

Great locationg in the 10eme arrondissment which allows you to discover the hip and less touristy parts of Paris as well as the traditional sights within walking distance. It is a clean, comfortable and classical hotel but I am not sure why it has 4 stars as I do not think it offers anything more than the general 3 star hotels in the same area that I have stayed with. ++ to the staff who are nice, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK but could have been better if there had e.g. been some vegetables or whole grain bread offered. The only real downside for me who is very sensitive to sound is that the AC was loud so I couldn't keep it on during the night which made the room very hot.

    « Clean small hotel »

The hotel is a tiny place on a side street in st Denis area with a short walk from chateau d eau station The rooms are very small but clean and well maintained Hotel breakfast is basic but good if you are in a rush Staff are friendly and helpful The area is not great and very noisy Not bad a bad place to stay after all

« Would not recommend and here is my honest opinion. »

GOOD POINTS: 1. Very close to main railway and metro stations. BAD POINTS: 1. Non-existent customer service, 2. Extremely over-priced buffet breakfast, 3. Extremely small lift - very bad access for luggage, children (in strollers) or wheelchair users, 4. Very narrow corridors made even worse because cleaners do not stow their carts!, 5. Rooms are TINY! I cannot stress this enough! Double room has at the very most 30cm clearance at window side of bed, 60cm at foot and 40cm at toilet side. CONCLUSION: French hotels must be allowed to make up their own star rating. This is not a four star hotel. In the United Kingdom this hotel would be very lucky to be a three star hotel. For my 3 night stay it was over £100 a night and I have been to Travel Inns that have been better appointed. Please don't let the star rating fool you. Please don't pay to sleep in a shoe box; go look elsewhere.

« Comfortable, clean and friendly »

Stayed three nights on a bank holiday weekend, found it was a comfortable and clean. The staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again. It was close to the Metro stations and we had no problems getting to all major attractions.

    « Wonderful staff »

I've stayed for one month at this hotel for a business trip. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was cleaned every day and the breakfast was very rich in terms of choice. The neighborhood is very mixed, culturally speaking, with lots of bars and restaurants. Metro station is at 2 minutes walk and train station at 10 minutes.

    « A jem in a very busy neighborhood »

Have stayed several times in this rather small hotel that I find easily accessible by foot and subway from Paris Gare de l'Est and Du Nord train stations: nice staff, well designed lobby interior, nicely displayed and tasteful breakfast, big and medium size rooms.

« Nice place good staff great location »

Nice and clean hitel. The staff was very polite and helpful. The bathroom is a plus. The location as well. Nice place to go out for foodd and late night drinks. You can rent the city bikes in front of the door, overall an enjoyable stay.

« Extended weekend in paris »

I found the hotel by far better than expected and much better then anyone else I stayed at in Paris up to now. While the rooms are comparatively small (even compared to others in Paris), they are extremely well kept and modern. The service & breakfast are beyond standard as well. And all this at a moderate price point. In addition, it is located fairly central and an ideal home base for visits of the inner city.

    5
« Friendly staff and good service »

The room is clean and staff are very friendly. The location is really close to metro, and there are restaurants, bars and supermarkets. Here I have to thank the staff in the hotel, they help me to find the lost phone and send it back to me quickly. Very nice service. Thank you!

« Beautiful, well-localized hotel with great service. »

Excellently located hotel - close to the metro station, only 2 km away from the major tourist attractions of Paris. Additionally, Area 10 is one of the most urban, charming and full of cafés, restaurants, bakeries, pubs, florists. Moreover, prices in this area are very affordable. The interior of the hotel perfectly designed - a beautiful hall and reception, cozy room, stylish and integrated with the rest of the hotel. The room and bathroom were cleaned daily. Towels were replaced daily. Tea and coffee replenished daily. In relation to the price this is the best hotel I have visited so far. I highly recommend.

    « Great little hotel »

Nice, clean, smallish rooms with decent service and good value. Very convenient location with metro and train stations close by but the neighborhood is a bit dodgy. Quite suitable for solo travelers and young couples.

« thoughtful funky sexy cool »

...and beautifully located across the street from both a grocery store and the hot international jazz concerts at the new morning club. i also enjoyed the gleamingly clean bathtub, the staff were all friendly and fun, and the business center was easy to access and well maintained.

    « Great location »

The hotel is in a great location, easy to get to from the Gare du Nord and to see the real Paris. The rooms are small but that is how it is in Paris... Local area with lots of life, although a bit sketchy at night further south but not dangerous. The hotel decor is quite nice and everything works well. Will stay again.

« Very good for the price, good location especially for Eurostar »

Small hotel located near the Gare du Nord, 20 minute walk or a couple of stops on the Metro. Very clean and well fitted. We arrived at 11.30am and as they had a room available, we were able to check in. They have a baggage room if you just need to drop bags off before heading into town. We walked down to the Louvre from here, stopping for lunch at Le Pas Sage restaurant (highly recommend) on the way. Our twin room on the first floor was small but very comfortable with a clean and modern shower room. Very good beds. We stayed on a Saturday night and it's just next to a very lively bar. Thankfully the double glazing was effective at blocking out 90% of the noise (I am pregnant and was heading to bed reasonably early). If you're a light sleeper then you may want to get an upper floor room or one of the couple round the back. The air conditioning wasn't the quietest but I've had a lot lot worse. I didn't hear any of the other guests outside our room so either they were being quiet or the soundproofing was good. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as there are lots of local cafes. One just on the corner has a 5euro menu with hot drink, fresh orange juice and pastry. The staff are friendly and helpful. We got the room on a special offer and were really happy with the quality of the hotel for the price paid. Free wifi

« A colorful jewel in the lively heart of Paris! »

Great medium sized hotel with a welcoming staff, a cozy colorful lobby area with an appealing bar, great location within short distance from 2 major train stations, main theaters and a variety of restaurants, bars and fresh food stores! A jewel of a hotel in the lively center of a Paris from an other century with a multicultural flavor...

    « Excellent customer service »

Wife & I agreed that we wouldn't mind staying in this hotel again. It was nice of them to let us have our room before noon. Key didn't work but staff was responsive. Switched to a room on the inner side away from street. Elevator a very tight fit for four people but never had to share it with anyone. Room was clean and small. One has to sit on the toilet facing sideways unless you like your knees touching the wall. Otherwise it was nice and modern. Room lighting was quirky. Maurice the manager was very hospitable and engaging. Neighborhood was lively and safe. Near two metro stations & specially the train station. Plenty of shops, groceries, bakeries, cafes & restaurants.

« First time out of the States and felt safe »

This is very quirky hotel but that is the charm of the place. The room that my fiancé and I had was on the second floor and it was small for two. So I will advise you to take out what you need and not pull out everything once you get settled. However, it was very clean and for our four days in Paris, we always had a clean room. The hotel is not located in the tourist part of Paris but that is what I loved about it. We actually ate at some great restaurants that locals ate at without the marked up prices for being a "tourist" location. However, I can understand if someone feels uncomfortable by walking around late at night. Since I had a man walking with me, my experience is different than if I was walking by myself. My suggestion is that they do have Uber in Paris and taxis services. You are also located near the train station, so it is a very short walk to reach public transportation. I do have to say that service at the desk was excellent! Being my first time out of the states, they helped my fiancé and me get around Paris with such kindness. The saying that people in France can be rude to Americans does not apply here!

    « a lovely place »

Good value and handy location. Comfy well presented room. I had a wonderful time here and miss it and Paris. Near to metro and only a short walk to Chatelet and Cite. Good variety of eateries nearby from the wonderful Brasserie Flo to some excellent Indian and Turkish places.

« Great value and convenient transportation to airport »

I was given an accessibility room at the hotel so the room was clean, spacious and secluded. I booked it with a coupon so I the room offered excellent value. The hotel is located in a less touristy area. There're many restaurants and grocery stores around the neighborhood, so you can get to see the ordinary life of regular Parisians. The hotel is two metro stops from the Gare du Nord train station, which makes the trip to the CDG airport easy enough. The hotel also provides shuttle service for 18 euro if you prefer not to take the train. I would suggest requesting the accessibility room if you can.

    « Just okay »

Not in the best neighborhood, but close to the Metro. We did not feel very safe walking in the area during the day.Very small rooms compared to other places we stayed but had all basic services. Front desk was very friendly.

    « Poor service. »

Plus : - This hotel near with metro station, about 10 minutes walk from the train station. - They provides airport shuttle bus, just ask the receptionists know ahead of your departure time. And i guess this is one's of the cheap transport to bring you to the airport. - Lots of cafe, bar and food shops near the hotel. - The bathroom is modern and clean. Have hot water. - They Wi-Fi internet works well. Minus : - The lift so small, i guess only can take 3 people inside. If you bring a lots of luggage, you should have to lift it twice and let your friends/companion waiting in the lobby with the rest of the luggage. - Poor service, the front desk make me wait so long for the receipt, just because theres an european guest suddenly came for cek-in. - The room was very small. - The kettle is dirty.

« The great service makes the hotel! »

This hotel is very small generally but they have done the best one could with the space available and small hotel rooms are expected in Paris! It is quite quaint, arty and modern looking. I'd say it's great for any type of person or travel group because the staff give a fantastic service and are extremely helpful. The location was good also for those who do not want to or cannot afford to stay in the heart of Paris. The bus and train services are so easy to use around the hotel. The room and bathroom were clean and the tv did have (mainly) news stations from other countries which helped. The free wifi was also an added benefit. It worked well and quick enough. The only thing that bothered me about the hotel was how thin the walls were. It was so noisy that I could hear the phone ringing clearly in other bedrooms. I could also hear people talking very clearly in the corridors. If you are a light sleeper then you may find that this hotel is not so suitable. I did not eat or drink in the hotel as there were so many cheap and very good restaurants around, so I cannot comment on that side of things. But I would definitely stay here again, purely because the staff made my time in Paris so much smoother.

« Compact, Arty, Clean, Great staff »

Although the rooms are tiny (this is Paris after all) this hotel is a great respite in an interesting area . The staff couldn't be more helpful! The manager, night staff and the friendly Calleze at breakfast are all the best in the business working tirelessly to make your stay great. A real bargain in this day and age. No aloofness here!

    « Friendly Service »

Just back from a week in Paris & found this place to be not too bad. The staff are very friendly & the Manager was extremely helpful. It does say that it has Wi-Fi internet...This is very poor signal & found it extremely slow & frustrating......

« A nice hotel, good value, with one glaring problem »

This hotel is a little quirky, with odd furnishings and decor - I quite like it. As others have said, the staff are excellent. The breakfast lady, the desk staff, all are happy to go out of their way to help. I found the rate to be very good value. Sure, it's on the small side, as are most second tier hotels in Paris (or most French cities). I was banging my knees when sitting on the toilet, but the bed was spacious and there was room for my luggage. Even a desk, with power outlets, which surprisingly not all European hotels think about. As for the neighborhood, it is what it is. If you're put off by the variety of races, accents and languages, well you shouldn't be holidaying in France. Stick with Brighton or Atlantic city. This area is vibrant and alive. Lots of small bars and bistros make for an interesting variety. So I'd visit again, right? Wrong. The serious flaw is the Internet connection. It drops out frequently, and is very slow all day. But at night, when most people are likely to need it, it just crawls. Completely unworkable. I had deadlines to meet, and missed them. Even at 2am, when presumably most other guests are asleep, it was absolutely hopeless. Thinking about using Skype to keep in touch with friends/relatives in other countries? Forget it! If I could be convinced that the Internet connection had been upgraded to a reliable, fast service I would be happy to return. Otherwise, no way.

    « GREAT LOCATION »

I've stayed there in May this year. Small Hotel with kind staff. The Hotel is nice, i got an upgrade in my room, so they gave me a suite, it was vey small, but comfortable. The locations is great, lots of nice bars and restaurants on a walking distance.

    « OFTEN ONLY ONE BED-COVER »

Unfortunately in many hotels it is normal to have one bed-Cover for two Persons. We and i think many other hotel guests prefer to have two bed-cover. (One bed-cover for each Person) Greetings from Munich Germany

« Three Day Escapade in Paris »

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. The hotel was wonderful and the staff very kind. The rooms are very small but very clean and comfortable with air conditioning; the bathroom with a glass shower was fabulous after long days visiting Paris with the heat wave. A great breakfast was included with our stay every morning. Our only disappointment was the immediate surroundings; did not feel so safe walking around at night time. The restaurant next door Le Napoleon was fabulous.

« Cool Room in a Heat Wave in Paris »

The Best Western Aulivia Opera was a wonderful respite in the midst of a heat wave in Paris. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our weekend there. There were many cafes within a five minute walk of the hotel. The Chateau L'Eau metro station was a block and a half away so transportation was very convenient. The air conditioning was a great relief in 97 degree weather in Paris. We were very please with the service and the convenience of the breakfast at the hotel.

« I recommend here to enjoy Paris. »

prospects : This hotel locates at convenient and interesting place with some stations, good restaurants ex. in passage etc. Supermarkets and coin-laundry are quite close. constraints : I wish this hotel will equip a refrigerator even small.
