« Clean quiet up to date room for road trip stop »

Last minute road trip changes lead us to spend the night here. Even though arriving ~0200 all was ready for us and the night desk was cheerful, fast, and helpful. Lots of choices at the welcome breakfast buffet. Our room on the first floor was quiet and clean and spacious.

« Great Breakfast and Stay for the Budget Traveler »

PROS: 1. Excellent breakfast included : scrambled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, sausage biscuits you could heat up, donuts, sausage, toast, waffle iron, fruit, Ok coffee, bagels, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. 2. Comfy bed, pillows with tons of towels. Room also had a microwave, hair dryer, coffee pot, 2 sinks, lots of tv channels and fridge. 3. CLEAN and quiet. (even though we faced the street ) 4. Wonderful staff that were helpful when we switched rooms. ...due to our mixup. (We didn't understand the layout of the 2 bedroom suite in which you had to go through the main bedroom in order to get to the bathroom....the suite was not a good option for 2 couples but would probably work well for a family used to sharing space. 5. Delicious cupcakes available at our early check in. Cons: 1. Even though this hotel is soooo walking distance close to the casino - restaurant, I would highly recommend that you do NOT eat at the casino unless you are in dire straights for an extremely average food option :) (We were extremely "road tired" and opted for walking the 600 feet to the casino....and this was the only negative thing about our Winnemucca stay!)

« Wonderful place to stay »

The outside of the hotel is very nice and the lobby is very comfy with a fireplace. The room we had was very nice. We had two queen sized bed. We had our two dogs with us and they were very accommodating. They had special rooms set aside for pet rooms and they are all on the ground floor. In addition, we were close to the outside exit door. The staff was great and there were even cupcakes when we checked in. The breakfast was excellent with eggs, sausage, waffles, pastries, toast, bagels, juice, mile etc.

    « Staff »

The Staff was excellent , friendly and, friendly and helpful. they advised of places to eat , the gym. They even had cupcakes out for checkin. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The General manager was helpful, and accessible . The breakfast was great and the lady who stocks the breakfast items was very nice also. staying there was like meeting with old friends. We stayed there on the way to yellowstone and on our home word bound trip also. Great hotel and staff.

    « Excellent »

We were very tired after a long day on the road. Thank goodness we pushed the extra distance and made it to Winnemucca. This Best Western is top notch. The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was quite a variety of breakfast choices in the morning.

    « Stayed twice - Nov 2016 »

I stayed for business for three nights then returned for another night. Warm and comfortable with spacious rooms. Two king sized beds and kitchenette. Very clean and friendly helpful staff. Breakfast is served in the lobby and includes warm porridge, self made waffles, cereals, yoghurt, doughnuts and fruits. Also, muffins etc available.

    « Nice hotel »

Very nice hotel . At least our second visit . Looks good from outside .Very clean and modern . Room was most comfortable and staff pleasant . Went to the nearest restaurant which is at the Casino next door . Even in the furthest corner you could smell cigarette smoke. Made a note not to go there again . We don't do hotel breakfasts but did find a very nice restaurant down the road called the Copper Kettle which was nice. We enjoyed our visit and will return one day and can recommend .

    « Traveling with a pet on Interstate 80 »

If you have to travel from West Coast to Midwest (or vice versa) on Interstate 80 with a pet, consider the Best Western Chain. Very friendly staff, clean rooms, good locations. For example, we stayed in Newton IA, Cheyenne WY and Winnemuccha NV Best Western Hotels. The staffs in all locations very friendly. Rooms were excellent as were amenities. And close location to freeway. We have done trip twice now and Best Western ranks way above competitive offerings in terms of clean and comfortable rooms, great value and friendly reception of staff. Highly recommend the Best Western Chain along interstate 80!

    « 1 night stay »

No working elevator, Not enough rooms on ground level for people with allergies to pets. Pets allowed but poor planning for downstairs rooms with people with post surgery knee replacements. Breakfast OK but other Best Westerns are far superior to this one. Not the quality expected from Best Western Plus!!!

    4
    « Quiet, comfortable, standard »

We found the elevator was being installed and inoperable. The desk was efficient and welcoming. The room was roomy and well appointed albeit the decor was eclectic and dated. Everything worked well I including the AC which was reasonably quiet f and able to keep the room cool. Breakfast was in the very large high ceiling lobby with a wall of Windows. The Buffett was set out on granite counters especially fitted to the corner of the lobby. It was refreshing and pleasant compared to the dingy low ceiling rooms usually assigned to be the breakfast room. I do not recall much about the bed but I enjoyed a thoroughly quiet and deep sleep. Very ordinary type facility but it works, with the sad exception of the elevator. When passing through Winnemucca this is my go to place, clean, comfortable and quiet.

    « A midway stop to relax! »

We travel between the Salt Lake, Utah, area and Sacramento, CA., and no longer make the very long drive in one day, so layover in Winnemucca or Elko at the Best Western hotels. Always a good rest, clean, friendly staff and a good breakfast before getting back on I-80 again.

    5
    « Great service »

Clean room with nice amenities. Friendly, timely service. Breakfast is adequate and fully supplied. The fridge is in a casing so the noise is minimal. Wifi was adequate. Called same day of need and they booked me right in without any price penalty like some places do. They made sure I got my AAA discount. They also kept my information from a previous stay so booking was almost instant.

    4
    « Great nights sleep. »

This hotel is convenient and comfortable. The elevator is under renovation so we asked for a first floor room and it was spacious quiet and the bed was wonderful. The only concern was the interior hallway was really smoky even though all the room were marked non-smoking.

    5
« We love this place! »

Though never a destination, Winnemucca has become a frequent stop-over point, and it is great to have, as their sign says, a "Spacious, comfortable, and quiet" place to stay. Not the cheapest in town, but it is a great value.

    4
    « Standard Best Western »

This motel meets the normal Best Western standards, which is a cut above the usual mid-range motels. The motel is dog friendly (+$10, but limited number of "dog" rooms so get a reservation). The breakfast, served in the main lobby, is just passable. (But the Winnemucca Inn next door serves Starbucks at the bar.) An area for dog walking adacent to the eastern door (with waste bags).

    2
« Nice people, appeared clean »

Nice staff, reasonably priced - thought everything was clean until we let baby crawl around on floor and realized that she was then covered in gross black direct - dark carpet hiding that its never been really cleaned - just a quick vacuum but no real cleaning. It was gross.

    4
« on the road again »

nice clean and quiet place in a town with plenty of places to have a good dinner. go try the martin hotel for a good basque meal. the motel has recently gone through a renovation process; its lobby functions as the breakfast room, as well and is nicely appointed. the hotel staff is friendly and professional. the rooms are clean and the amenities are plentiful.

    3
    « Basic »

Basic and clean. Friendly staff. Decor needs updating. Good oatmeal, scrambled eggs, potatoes, waffles etc for continental breakfast. Staff was friendly. They upgraded the room for no extra charge to get us on the first floor.

« Palace in the Middle of Nowhere »

Winnemucca has a great Best Western. It has great rooms, great food, large beautiful lobby with a large two-story window and a brick fireplace, and helpful staff. The rooms and hallways have a quaint country look. The rooms were extremely large. The breakfast was beyond the quality of any best western I have stayed at. The eggs were cooked perfectly and kept warm. The oatmeal was the right texture. They had cherries, blueberries, and cranberries for the oatmeal. They had greek rather than small Yoplait yogurts. They had blueberry scones that really put it over the top. (the only thing they might do is wash the windows and patch some couches in the rooms). But it was great they added couches and benches in the most basic rooms.

« Nice- Lack there of Customer Service »

When we went to check in there were 2 Ladies at the front desk, we stood there waiting to be checked in- the Ladies felt their conversation about one going home to have pot roast with her husband was more important than checking in the customers. The next day at breakfast the breakfast helper was complaining about what items she needed to refill that were empty ( its that her job?) Another customer accidentally spilled something and she looked angry, that she now had to clean it up the mess ( it's that her job?) When we finally got checked in , we were told our room was on the second floor, she told us to use the staircase, cause the elevator was still being worked on! She didn't even offer us a room on the first level?? So we had to hike our suitcases up the stairs ??? .. The room was very clean with lots of room. Would I stay there again ... uuumm ??

« Road trip to Yellowstone National Park & Grand Tetons »

Although our room itself was very nicely arranged, with an additional sink in the bathroom section where the bathtub/shower and toilet was located, we found room for improvement! We have always enjoyed our stays at Best Western hotels in the previous trips. This particular hotel is undergoing some changes, and we took that into consideration: for example, they are installing a much needed elevator! Since we noticed around 80-90% of the people using the breakfast room the morning of check-out were in our 65+ age group, an elevator is not a luxury but a necessity! On the problem side, the refrigerator in our room was not functioning...unfortunately, not able to keep our pizza from the night before:( And yes, it was plugged in and the dial checked several times to make sure we were using it properly! The morning of check-out: breakfast items were the usual, BUT THE EGGS WERE TERRIBLY OVERDONE (even when she brought out fresh tray)! The containers for the juice and milk were so heavy, anyone with arthritis (me) found them very difficult to hold with one hand. Sorry, but these are items which at all BW's we've stayed at over the past 15 years, we've never had a problem with.

    5
    « Great hotel »

We were impressed by this hotel. The front desk gals were friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfortable and we got the best night's sleep we'd had in a while. The room was quiet, clean and spacious. Even the toilet was nice and powerful! Would highly recommend.

    3
    « Overpriced »

Room was on 2nd floor, no elevator. They were either repairing it or putting one in. Was quite hard for me with respiratory problems to climb stairs and long hallways. also room made very strange creaking noises. And the room rate was quite expensive for what you receive, have stayed at other Best Westerns with lower rates and room and beds are far better.

    5
« BEST WESTERN Plus Gold Country Inn, Winnemucca, NEVADA »

This motel is by far the best in the Winnecucca, NV area. The room amenities are always outstanding coupled with professional and courteous room service. The breakfast experience is displayed to accommodate your appetite with a broad selection of food items; each of which is hot and delicious. The scrambled eggs are fluffy and cooked to perfection. Our grandson loved the sausage links; his favorite. I would recommend this hotel to anyone stopping in Winnemucca for a single night or several days.

    5
« Our best on this trip »

The room had two sinks, so the wife and I could both get ready for breakfast at the same time - WOW. The rooms were nice, clean. The best we saw on our 10 day trip for the price!!!!! Great recommend for dinner too - the Martin Hotel in Winnemucca for dinner.

    4
« Modern, Clean and Welcoming »

Everything worked just as designed at this hotel. The room was large, a little close to a fairly busy street, but not an issue. Ask for an even numbered room if sensitive to noise. We had to leave prior to the free breakfast buffet. This was a welcome find in the wilds of Nevada.

    5
    « A great rest stop »

We're driving from California to Yellowstone National Park on Wyoming. We decided to rest here after 8 hours of driving. The hotel is clean, quiet and pleasant smelling despite being pet friendly. Room is spacious and clean. There is a refrigerator and microwave oven. The window faces the road but I cannot hear any noise. Since we just got in, we will try the breakfast tomorrow morning. So far, it's a wonderful place to rest for the night.

    5
    « A nice stop »

This is truly a Best Western Plus---a lovely facility at a very reasonable price. The staff was warm and welcoming. The woman at the front desk was very helpful in getting me a very early check in. She was also very helpful in suggesting a quick, easy and good place to have lunch.

    5
    « Great Quiet Stay »

I was very pleased with my stay at this facility. The room was next to a road, but you could not hear a thing. It was very surprising. the staff and breakfast was great. Price was a little more than i wanted to pay, but in the end was worth every penny.

    « winnemucca stay »

nice property. Great staff. No handicap parking near hallway entrance Very nice about my service dog Not convenient to freeway Comfortable beds Room assigned close to exit door for my service dog, nice touch

    « Nice and Clean »

The rooms are clean and staff very helpful. We have stayed here several times and feel very comfortable. There are nearby restaurants and fast food places to eat. We typically order a pizza to pickup. There is a grocery store across the road for any forgotten items you may need.

    4
« Better than last time »

Nice quiet hotel with modern rooms. The rooms are large and clean and the staff at the front desk was very friendly and professional. The full breakfast in the morning was great. The cafe attached to the casino next door is nice.

    4
« Spacious Room, Filling Breakfast, Friendly Folks »

Just what we needed, a comfortable place to spend the night. Our welcome was warm, and we got a good recommendation for a homey Basque restaurant, the Martin hotel. Our new-looking, generous room had an extra sink outside the bathroom, a coffee maker, though beverages were available in the lobby. Individual climate control was a plus. Bed was fairly firm, if a bit bouncy. Our room on the second floor faced a small road, quieter than the Main Street, though we could still hear cars going by in the morning and doors slamming. Not enough to bother us, but be forewarned if you need absolute silence. A bit brighter lighting would be a plus. Shower had plenty of hot water, though spray didn't come out of the middle holes in the shower head. Maybe I didn't know how to adjust it. Breakfast was pleasantly as expected: yogurt, scrambled eggs, doughnuts, oatmeal. For us, it was worth the extra dollars compared to some of the other motels.

    « It's the People »

I arrived at the Best Western in Winnemucca Nevada on a Saturday afternoon on a holiday weekend. I didn't care for my initial room- Ist floor, etc. I was tired and in a picky mood. Despite being busy they found me a very nice room on the second floor and charged me the same rate. It had a kitchen that was very well stocked. The real help came when I forgot my new camera with two weeks worth of vacation pictures on the card. They called the phone number I had left, left a message they had found it before I even knew it was gone. Unfortunately I was now a four hour drive away. They were very pleasant and patient with me when I called back frantic several times, assuring me that the camera and the other things I had left in a backpack in the room were safe and in the manager office.

« Spacious, Modern rooms but not the best spa »

Spacious, clean and modern rooms. Finicky key cards though. Only allowed about two seconds between swiping and turning room handle, so timing is everything. Usually took a couple tries. Nice breakfast. Outdoor spa was nice and hot but had the weakest jets I've ever encountered. Actually thought they were off until they shut off completely! Overall nice place though. Would stay again.

    5
« Best of the best »

Of all of the BW properties we stay in each year, this one ranks as the best. The service is excellent, the rooms are clean and well furnished, and the staff always seems to go out of their way to make sure that all is right with our stay.

    4
    « Good Stay »

Pleasant and helpful staff. Well designed rooms, clean and relatively spacious. Quiet and restful. We are glad to know in future stays when driving through this area that the hotel will have an elevator (at this time the elevator was in development) was not user friendly for those with handicaps. Otherwise a lovely stay.

    4
    « Better than most »

This hotel has all the elements you expect from standard chain motels. Large room -- but small bathrooms. The staff was friendly on check in. Breakfast was fine, slightly better than typical. Pool was cold and is shared with another motel so not easy to reach from your room. Hot tub is large and popular.

    2
    « Poor value »

Well it was shelter, but the internet was awful, the television sound cut out every few seconds, and no one ever asked if we were members of the Best Western travel rewards. The bill came to $161 which I considered to be way to high for the quality.

    5
« Very clean, spacious and well equipped room for the price! »

The room was large, clean, and the bed and the linens were very comfortable. The room had a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Means a lot when you are on a road trip!! The service was friendly and the breakfast was very good. When we checked in they had cupcakes at the front desk. They serve apples, coffee, etc. 24/7. The location is nice, and they have about 5 restaurants within walking distance and they all offer 10% off to hotel guests. We highly recommend this lodging!

  • 5
    « Very dog-friendly! »

Very relaxing stop on our way from Misery (errr... Missouri) back to Nevada. Very dog-friendly, Jack, Winston, and Chesley appreciated the special 'dog-friendly' coverlets on the beds. Parking adequate for SUV and trailer; grassy areas for dogs to do their business, microwave and refrigerator in room, great breakfast choices. Great place to stay in mid-northern Nevada.

    4
    « Nice breakfast area. »

Front desk teams was pleasant. Room was clean and quieter than expected with the location being right downtown. Within walking distance of restaurants. The breakfast area is in a corner of the lobby and made it comfortable to eat there without feeling on top of each other.... Lots of people but with open space it did not feel over crowded. The pool is at the end of the parking lot. We did not use the pool but it looked very clean. Elevator was not working while we were there. Must have been pet friendly since we saw a few pets in the hallways.

    5
    « Great hotel!! »

My family and I stayed at this hotel for one night on our way from California to Colorado. We arrived at 3am and the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful in getting us our room. Our room was clean and very comfortable, with a nice TV and an adjustable A/C. The free wifi was fast. The continental breakfast was delicious and included coffee, waffles, baked goods, eggs, and cereal (and much more). Although we didn't use it, the pool looked clean and fun. There's a casino nearby for anyone interested. Overall, we had a great stay, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick 1 night stay or a longer period of time.

    5
    « Always a Pleasure »

Hotel staff always goes out of their way to take care of their guests. Rooms and lobby are always clean and great selection for breakfast. I've stayed at this hotel many times on business trips and highly recommend.

    5
« Great place to stay in after a week of camping »

I was on my way back to Denver, Colorado from Likely Place, California. I had just spent a week of living in a tent, observing the stars. It was not exactly primitive, since there was a restaurant and hot showers nearby. But it was nice to sleep in an actual bed. The room was very large, and very clean. It's the perfect place to stay in after a week of camping

    4
    « Dog friendly hotel »

Large, clean, updated rooms. If you are traveling with a pet this is a very good place to stay. Dog fee is $10.00. I can do that! Most hotels charge more, some are down right ridiculous. I suppose they want to be register as dog friendly but actually are not. Decent breakfast with many choices.

    2
    « Stop over »

Nice outside appearance, friendly check in and out. Smelly room, very dirty carpet in room and hallway. Pillows were uncomfortable and the air was either off or running full blast. Breakfast smelled good, we didn't have time to eat. Crappy coffee though. OK for a stop over. Over priced for location.

    4
« It was good to be at best western country inn but they dont have laundry services. »

The room was accommodating and their telephone services were good. It was spacious and had an indoor kitchen with coffee makers . It is within the main city and had a large parking area for everyone. The breakfast is vey early and has almost what you can eat

    4
    « Better than I thiught »

Read the reviews. Noted the lack of an elevator, but it is in the midst of being installed. That and it only has a second floor. I can struggle up the stairs. All the heavy stuff? That's why I have kids. The rooms are pretty large, comfortable and most importantly, clean. So far, it is quiet and I like that.

    4
    « Pretty good »

Enjoyed our stay, close to food, a grocery store, two casinos. Nice staff, decent breakfast. My only complaint would be make sure you don't stay on the second floor...no elevator. Overall good place and clean

  • 5
« Perfect Stop Over for a Quiet Comfy Nights Rest »

Perfect stop over with our dog on our travels. Provided extra bed sheet for our dog to sleep on, rate for pet was very reasonable $10, rooms, bed very comfortable... nice showers. Just what we needed Some green space in the parking lot area for pet as well as walking along sidewalk for a couple of blocks. Internet worked for our needs. Will stop here again as this is a good first night destination in our cross country trips.

    3
    « Very Loud »

We stayed in this hotel and left exhausted. The hotel seemed clean but old. The town is older and seems like a casino / pass thru town. The noises from the roads were loud. Our room made so many noises..never figured out what that it kept us up in the night. The hot tub outside was warm. Crowds there were a bit louder. Breakfast was ok.

    4
    « Nice Hotel »

Spent a night here on our summer vacation. Hotel was very nice and clean with large, comfortable rooms. Breakfast in the lobby had everything we could ask for. And Round Table Pizza and supermarket are just across the street on backside of property. We have stayed at many Best Westerns and were very satisfied with this hotel. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again should our travels bring us back this way.

    4
« Good quick overnight hotel »

Your basic hotel, but they still allow smoking, which is only the first floor but smoke travels up! The breakfast wasn't worth it, super busy, not well stocked or kept clean. Better than trying to find a room in Lovelock.

    5
« Great stay when passing through area »

Very pleasant stay while passing through on way to CA and a great stay for families in a safe area of town. Room was very comfortable and decorated very nicely. The beds were comfortable and we all slept very well. Noise outside was minimal despite being on a main street going through town. Breakfast was quite tasty in the morning and the staff were all friendly and very personable. They have definitely trained them well. Nice job. I felt quite at home while staying here, would definitely be back if ever in the area.

    5
« No Other Motel Better! »

We stated at the Best Western Plus Gold Country Inn just last week. We normally stay there every time we travel from California to Idaho. It's comfortable, clean, great and friendly service, comfortable bed, and good breakfast food! They have a limited amount of pet rooms, but do allow dogs. Why look any where else? Make your next reservations at this oasis in the desert.

    5
« Unexpectedly surprised by the quality of this hotel (Pet friendly) »

This is part of a series of reviews of hotels visited between Tennessee and California. Our original plan had been to drive to Reno from Salt Lake City, but because we had been delayed and did not leave SLC until 2 pm we had to alter our plan and stopped in Winnemucca. The hotel is set up like a "country inn" with a fireplace in the lobby (nice for winter). They are set up for the tired traveler coming off of I-80. Cupcakes (moist and tasty, your choice of chocolate and vanilla) are set out at the front desk for guests. There is a complimentary breakfast in the morning that is stocked with the usual assortment of pastries, cereal, waffles, pancakes, granola, and fruit. There is a faint smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway, but our room was non-smoking and I did not smell anything in the room. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. The hotel gets 5 stars for providing a sheet to place across the bed for pets. Every pet-friendly hotel should adopt this practice. Note that the only restaurant open later at night is the one in the casino next door. There is room in the parking lot for trailers. If you are ever traveling between Reno and SLC and need to stop somewhere, I would highly recommend this Best Western.

    4
« Great room, good service. »

Rooms are great, the only complaint we had was the soft water, wow, way too soft! I never knew if all the soap was off or not! But, the rooms are comfortable, well equipped and the property is well worth the extra cost. Breakfast is included and was very good!

    4
    « Very comfortable »

This was another nice surprise by Best Western. For a small town in the middle of the Nevada desert, this location was very comfortable. Rooms were clean and spacious. The pool is outside so you have the option of getting some sun. Breakfast is served in a large lobby with nice views of mountains. If you want to gamble it is a short walk across the hotel parking lot to the nearest casino. That's not our thing but the hotel gave us two for one drink tickets so we stopped in for lunch. For casinos it seemed nice. Not real smoky and lunch was acceptable. Winnemucca is not on our regular route to and from the Northwest but we would stay here for sure if we pass through again

    5
    « Passing thru Winnemucca »

Very satisfied with Best Western. Will stay again if passing thru the area. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Everything worked fine in the room with the TV, toilet great shower lights. Bed was great and the room was quiet on the ground floor. The breakfast area was pleasant and comfortable.

    « High Desert Oasis »

This is the 4th time I've stayed at this property and have never been disappointed. The room was comfortable and spacious. The addition of an elevator just adds to the appeal of this Best Western. The staff is always helpful, courteous and professional. Just a short walk across the parking lot to a casino and restaurant and lounge.

    5
    « Extremely Satisfied! »

We stayed in Winnemuca for one night during the return of our 10 day road trip through Nevada and Utah. What a pleasant surprise! The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. An added benefit was the Garden Restaurant next door that served delicious hometown food. I highly recommend the chicken fried steak with cream gravy. We would definitely stay here again.

    5
« An Oasis in the desert »

The place is a cut above your standard overnight stop hotel. The room was very large and quiet. There was a small grass area by the door for the dog and other decent grassy areas close by. Staff was very friendly and nice to our little beast

    « An Unexpected Delight »

Winnemucca, Nevada, is a very small town just off I-80. The Best Western Gold Country Inn is a delight - when we stopped overnight in June, 2016, they were just finishing remodeling the facility. The hotel was spotlessly clean, large and roomy, and because of some great maintenance people, everything worked flawlessly. The staff was efficient and friendly - a wonderful surprise. We just returned from spending 23 days driving about 6000 miles around the US, and of all the hotels we visited, this stop was the most relaxing - and our stops included some expensive, top-tier places. It was also the least expensive. If you're crossing Nevada on I-80, give the Winnemucca Best Western a try.

« good clean place to spend the night »

We just stayed one night, breakfast was good (full hot breakfast). The suite we stayed in had three queen beds, was big enough for the 3 adults and 3 kids we had travelling. Was near places to eat. The kids enjoyed the pool.

    « A great overnight in Winnemucca!! »

My husband and I were both impressed with the bed linens, the comfort of the bed, and the quiet AC unit! We slept so well! Also, although the hotel was completely full, it was the quietest property I think I have ever stayed at....We would definitely stay here again. Friendly staff, decent breakfast (although the serving area was quite crowded), nice pool, and a good night's sleep!!

« Nice place, decent breakfast »

Stopped with my kids. We got in a little early and they got us into our room, shafted some welcome cupcakes (which my kids loved) and were very attentive to our needs. The wifi was somewhat unreliable. It would cycle on and off. But the breakfast in the morning was better than expected.

    « A nice overnight »

The good: we stayed in a double queen room. It was very spacious. Had an extra table with 2 chairs, bench at the end of one bed, 2 comfy chairs, fridge/micro & large flat screen tv. Nice bathroom with separate dressing area. Great breakfast (typical of Best Westerns) all the usual continental fare plus hot oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage, and make your own waffles. Complimentary access to a nice fitness gym just behind the building. The mediocre: floors got my toddlers feet dirty (but many hotels do). It wasn't easy to get into the swimming pool. Apparently you need an extra card key but they were out of them. And they gave another couple an entirely different answer on how to get in. That was confusing. You have to check pool towels out at the desk. Just an extra semi-annoying step to be aware of. The pool was chilly. The hot tub was better but "warm" not hot. The handrail into the hot tub is wobbly & needs replacing. Bottom line, it was a quick overnight stay with kids & I would stay again.

    « On vacation »

We were in our way to Idaho and stopped for the night at this Best Western. Our rooms were very clean, comfortable, had two sinks, one in the bathroom and one outside. Had soft seating as well as a desk with comfortable chair. I would stay there again in a heart beat.

    « Large clean rooms »

This was a stop on our way to San Francisco. It was older and undergoing some renovation. Rooms were large, clean, and well maintained. The fridge and microwave were also nice to have. Pool was off site as well as the gym so that was different. Breakfast had enough to get by in the morning. Staff both night and day were very friendly and accommodating.

    « Clean and accommodating »

We asked for an got a first floor room that was very nice, clean. Staff very helpful. Breakfast fresh and good. Surprisingly cute town with lots of things to do. Great Mexican Restaurant at the other end of town.

    « Everything was perfect »

This is about as good as it gets for a motel. Nice friendly check in, great rooms, fast wifi, nice breakfast in the morning, clean rooms, comfortable beds, everything. Sure, you'll probably pay slightly more than you can find elsewhere, but we stayed in five motels on our trip and this was THE BEST.

    « A good nights rest »

The Best Western in Winnemucca is a good place to stay. The room was clean and spacious and everything worked. The free breakfast wasn't too bad although it was pretty crowded. They just don't have enough space for all of the guests to eat at the same time. The only complaint would be that the mini-muffins were a bit dried out. Overall, very nice.

    « road trip 2016 »

The hotel is very clean and the people friendly. the rooms are truly wonderful! hotel is in a quiet spot and the breakfast is quite delicious. the staff was helpful in getting us a ground floor room for my parents who were in need of an accessible room! the room very clean and quite comfortable!

« Clean, Quiet, Spacious, Comfortable »

I wish all places we stayed were such good value. There is not one negative which I could say about the BW Plus Winnemucca. It is excellent value. Pleasant reception staff. Very quiet, spacious king bed room with sofa and chair. The bathroom had two sinks. Nice decor, comfortable bed, great shower. Beverages in lobby. Good breakfast. Delicious cupcakes in afternoon in lobby.

The ac was on before arrival- room cool. Efficient front desk staff. Breakfast ready early. Elevator under construction. Comfortable rooms with large windows. Several choices for breakfast with to go options

    « Nice enough stop-over. »

Decent. Upstairs room and no elevator was kind of a bummer. Breakfast was so-so. Clumsy double-door entry added to move-in/move-out difficulty. But good enough for a one-night stop-over. There's a coin-op self-service car cash down the street, btw. You'll need it to get the bugs off your car...

    4
    « Clean, Freshly Updated »

The carpets are new, the elevator is currently being remodeled, the management is clearly making an effort to keep up its maintenance. We had a room on the second floor (that's as high as you get). It was quiet and comfortable. In Winnemucca, that's about as good as it gets.

« Best Western John Day »

The rooms and service are good. The pool was clean and great place for the kids to play. The breakfast could use a little help in organization and not watering down the gravy. The wi-fi worked well. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxo

    « Golf Trip »

The hotel was great, clean and centrally located. The check-in process was quick and efficient. The room was clean and well decorated. The staff was attentive, polite and helpful. We enjoyed ourselves, even though my golf game was a bit underwhelming. Thank you and we will see you again next year.

« Great stay at Best Western Plus, Winnemucca »

Just had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Very clean and comfortable. At least 5-6 places to dine in immediate area. Not including the breakfast provided at hotel, eggs, sausage, waffles you make fresh, plus the fruit, oatmeal, etc. An excellent way to start the day. All the staff were pleasant, and very helpful. Could not have asked for more.

Great rooms with a great staff and an excellent staff. Breakfast was great and well stocked and kept clean. Nice pool and they have dog friedly rooms. Nice location with easy access and two casinos within a block.

« Great amenities, just a little dated. »

This hotel has everything a traveler needs, including 2 sinks in the bathroom; comfortable beds, a microwave, refrigerator, internet good AC and a sofa. We always appreciate a sofa so that one of us doesn't have to sit on the bed or in a desk chair in the evening. The furnishings in the room and the lobby/breakfast area were a little dated, but this was very minor compared to all the amenities offered. The breakfast choices were quite broad, with eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, hot & cold cereals and hard boiled eggs. There were even breakfast sandwiches available to microwave. The restaurant in the next door casino was also surprisingly good for dinner.

    5
« Thank you, Best Western! »

We stayed for a night with some friends for a fun, spontaneous trip. This hotel was clean, accommodating, and well worth the inexpensive rate! We were close to all the night life, and there was even a cute parade on the street in the morning. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and recommend this hotel if you find yourself in Winnemucca.

    3
    « Not the best night's sleep »

We had traveled several hours and needed rest. The staff "allowed " us to check in early but it took a few tries to get an appropriate room. It turned out that during the night a noise came though the wall that kept my wife awake all night as the bed was not comfortable enough to obtain a good night's sleep. The hotel was being updated and maybe after completion a better experience might be expected. The breakfast area was cramped with mostly prepackaged food.

    5
« Very Nice and Comfortable »

Stayed one night and found this hotel to be very nice and comfortable. Near casinos and eating places too. The breakfast was typical BW but adequate. Would definitely stay here again. They are in process of putting in elevator which will help with us older travelers when room is on second floor.

    4
    « Winnemucca Stay »

The room was spacious, attractive and well-kept. Stayed here before because of the quality of the facility. Hotel is in heart of Winnemucca and easily accessible from the main thoroughfare. Plenty of good eating establishments nearby. The hotel's complimentary breakfast was about average.

« Great Hotel in the Desert »

We loved this hotel! Sometimes when we hear the words clean in reviews, we are not sure what to think. This hotel had great amenities, great customer service, modern nicely appointed rooms, good breakfast in the morning, good location, and quiet. We have absolutely nothing but good things to review on this hotel. Easy on, easy off to I-80, walking distance to a restaurant and casino, and cupcakes upon arrival. There is no elevator, so be careful of that if you can't do stairs. Also watch out for smoking rooms. They do have them, but make sure you ask for non-smoking if you want that. The front desk accommodated our request for a King room even though we booked a Queen which was all that was available on the site we used. We got an upstairs corner unit which was huge and corner windows for lots of light. Also was glad to have double sinks so someone could shower and the other person can still have a sink to use. It is a bit more than some other hotels in the area, but is an excellent value. We will definitely stay again when in the area.

    4
« Very Quiet Air Conditioning! »

A normal very good Best Western - BUT VERY IMPRESSED BY THE QUIET AIR CONDITIONING! The A/C is new, comes on with a very slight click and a hum! No roar like most rooms where you need to keep the fan on all the time or it will wake you every time it turns on. Excellent and very quiet night! Hopefully all the rooms now have this A/C unit.

« Good place to stay in Winnemucca »

Stayed at this property over night while passing through town. Convenient location, clean and spacious room with kitchen and large bathroom. Free breakfast but marginal selection & quality. Reliable Best Western property. Would stay again.

    « Clean and comfortable »

A nice property in Winnemucca. We had an issue in our room with a heavily perfume smell, like maybe a strong carpet cleaner. The immediately moved us to another room and it was fine. Fridge and microwave in each room and the complimentary breakfast has everything most people would enjoy for breakfast.

    5
« Clean, friendly, great value! »

We stay fairly often in Best Western hotels while traveling because of their rewards system. I am not generally a big fan of the chain because I prefer higher quality, but this hotel did not disappoint. Our room was spacious, clean, modern, and comfortable. The bath was stocked with bath salts, shower gel and the usual amenities. My favorite part was the magnifying mirror mounted on the wall, which is a real luxury if you have trouble putting on make-up without one. I would stay here again anytime!

    5
    « Excellent »

Just returned from a road trip moving furniture from Minneapolis to San Francisco. This was our third and final stop along the way. The staff was welcoming-even had a spot for our rental truck. Rooms were spacious. Beds were comfy as well. They had GLASS (not thin plastic) water glasses and ceramic coffee mugs(not paper) in the rooms. Another great amenity was the Direct TV service with many channels including the Tennis Channel. Amazing! The hot breakfast was also a welcome surprise. Their waffles were the best ever. I would stay here again and will put Best Westerns at the top of my searches for future road trips.

    5
« Great place to stay. »

    « Great Location »

From the moment you drive into the parking area you notice the manicured lawns and gardens. Reception staff were really helpful. The 2 queen bedded room was large and well layed out - the internet worked well. Location of the hotel is really good. Bed and pillows comfortable

« Average BW with some nice surprises »

This is a standard Best Western and a little long in the tooth at that. It sits between two busy thoroughfares in this small town. But it also offers some nice surprises. First, the TV in my room was awesome and was obviously brand new. Second, the free breakfast was excellent, far better than other BW's I've stayed at. Finally, you can't beat the location. Several casinos and restaurants within a short walk. Given the competition this is a great value in Winnemucca.

    « THANK YOU! »

My husband and I stayed there on leave, and return of our trip, and will stay there again!!!Clean!!Comfortable,friendly..All the important things in a hotel..Even a makeup mirror!!!My husband was very happy about their making sure we would have a room where we could see our truck!

    « Just OK »

I stayed here twice on a road trip. During both of my visits, the elevator was out and I was forced to carry my luggage upstairs unassisted. The vending machine was also out. The hotel was also undergoing renovations and it appeared that nothing had been done during the week between my two visits. The rooms were a good size and clean but on both visits the TV did not work upon check in and I had to either figure out the problem myself as plugs had been unplugged or call maintenance to fix the problem. The staff is nice and it is dog friendly which is a plus but I have stayed at much nicer BW Plus hotels.

    5
« Great place to stay »

We always enjoy our stay in Winnemucca at the Best Western. It is quiet, clean and friendly personnel. It is easy to reach from the freeway and close to restaurants ans shopping. We have stayed at this motel 5 times in the last 5 years and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

    « Excellent experience »

The hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. Our experiences with the staff were all very positive. The breakfast was excellent and included fresh fruit. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. We will consider Best Western in our future travels. Too bad they charge for pets, but the pet area in the back of the hotel was very nice.

    « Typical Best Western »

I had to travel to Winnemucca for a friend's wedding. The breakfast in the mornings was very good with plenty of variety. The room was clean and spacious with plenty of electrical outlets. The only problem I had was that when I initially checked in, they gave me a key to a room that was already occupied. Fortunately the key did not work, but I was quite surprised when the couple on the other side opened the door and invited me in lol. Then the clerk at the front desk did not believe me that the room was occupied because the maid told her it was clean? She did apologize and quickly got me in another room. Also, elevator is broken so be aware that you have to lug your stuff up the stairs.

    5
« Pet friendly, small town welcome »

Pleasantly surprised as we checked in. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. Quiet hotel. Coming from Vegas, that's big. Restaurant choices surround the hotel. Updated amenities. Free WiFi and Continental breakfast. The breakfast was not what I expected. They had more in the lobby than the usual prepackaged danish and muffins.

    5
« Great Place to stay in Winnenucca »

Quality property that is close to everything in town. Rooms are very comfortable. This property has working electrical outlets near the bed for use (without having to unplug the clock). Great idea for older travelers. It seemed to be pet friendly since I saw a couple of guest with pets. The afternoon clerk was a little uninformed about town and the only person to check you in, but overall a GREAT PLACE TO STAY.

    5
    « Excellent »

This facility was outstanding. The quality of the furnishings in the room was wonderful and the pet walking area was very nice. This was definitely the best room we stayed at on our vacation. I highly recommend staying at the hotel.

« Great place to stay in a small town »

We were reluctant to stay in a small town because we were not sure of the quality. We were mistaken. Although we had a few equipment glitches, we were happy with the hotel, the room and the breakfast items that were above normal in many respects. We recommend this hotel without hesitation.

    4
« Nice Place to Stay »

Very nice room, very nice breakfast. No problems whatsoever. Beds very comfortable, room very clean. Enjoyed the stay. no street noise, friendly staff. Decor of room was male oriented but very clean. Bathroom good sized and clean.

    « Typical Best Western »

Arrived around 7 p.m., checkin was speedy, room was in good shape, very large, but I don't think they are all big, it was not very full. The desk provided info on place to eat. Breakfast had all the usual, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, and al the other stuff. Linens were good, good speed free wifi. I think the place has been recent,y remodeled.

    4
« First stay in Winnemucca »

I'm a member of Best Western's rewards program so I always try to stay at one if there is one in town. This one was nice just like most of the other ones I have stayed in. A little pricier compared to the others, but perhaps this is what it costs to stay in Winnemucca. They were going through a remodel so there was construction going on inside and outside. There was a constant smell of paint, so if you are sensitive to that you might want to wait to stay here until after the remodel. Otherwise, it was comfortable, clean, and quiet. I would stay there again.

    4
« No elevator and we were on the second floor »

We looked at an inexpensive motor-inn before going to the Best Western, because the BW had a full, hot breakfast, we decided to pay more for it, plus the room was larger. The Best Western is installing an elevator, but that didn't help us get our luggage upstairs. The hall had debris from the elevator construction. The compressor for the workmen was noisy in the morning. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were lumpy. Glad I brought mine from home. Our room had a solid feel that is comforting, but the bath exhaust fan was inoperative and had been for some time, because the paint in the bath was blistering and turquoise was showing through in a couple places. Drywall? Also, the tub/shower faucet doesn't control the flow of water: when the water is on, it's full-blast. I commented to the manager that the water was slippery and that the water softener needed to be adjusted...a good thing that the tub had a rubber shower mat and grab bar. This place will be excellent once the elevator is finished, they get the water softener under control, and the exhaust fan repaired. When at breakfast, we were surprised to see a sign that said, "Sorry, no hot food today"; turned out that something had broken and the kitchen was unable to serve the hot foods. (Waffles were available, however.) I told the morning clerk that we had chosen BW over the motor-in because of the hot breakfast; she apologized and took $30 off the bill and labeled it "no breakfast".

« Very good, but poor wifi »

Good, clean, quiet hotel. It was undergoing renovations (I think a new elevator) while I was there, but had a free breakfast. They don't have an exercise room, but gave me a key to one less than a block away, which was well set up and clean. The only drawback was the slow and spotty internet.

    4
    « good hotel »

« Great Find in Winnemucca »

This is a very nice Best Western. Staff was friendly and helpful. Check-in smooth. Our room on the first floor with two queen beds was spacious and clean. The bathroom was large, spotless and updated. A second sink just outside of the bathroom was convenient. Free wifi was fast. Although our room at the back of the building was directly adjacent to a major road, it was very quiet. The first floor is advertised as "pet-friendly;" however there was no sign that a pet had ever stayed in our room. The room was very fresh and clean, carpets spotless, and no pet-smells. So don't be afraid to stay on the first floor if you don't have a pet. We chose first floor because there are no elevators in the building; although one is under construction. Free breakfast is served in the large lobby area. Pretty standard fare. We will stay again if we ever find ourselves in Winnemucca at the end of the day.

    3
    « No Elevator »

Disappointed that a Best Western PLUS would not have an elevator and be run down. Staff was nice enough, though a little unprofessional. Usually PLUS indicates a nicer motel experience. Their elevator is under construction.

    4
« Probably the best thing going in Winnemucca »

I've stayed at the Best Western PLUS Gold Country Inn at least 3 times, and it's generally worth the price. They have friendly staff, are pet-friendly, and really are the best that Winnemucca has to offer. If you are traveling through Nevada and need a place to stay, I'd say that this should be at the top of your list. It's not a beautiful hotel, but in the wilds of NV, sometimes "functional" and "friendly" are the best you can hope for. Also, the hotel is close to the Winnemucca Inn, which has a 24-hour restaurant and some decent slot machines, if that interests you.

    4
« Very nice place in Winnemucca. »

We enjoyed our stay. The location is convenient, with just a short walk through the parking lot for dinner at the Winnemucca Inn. Our room was on the front, facing the main road, but we had no problems with road noise. Our 2nd floor room was clean, quiet, and spacious (single king). First floor rooms are ?pet friendly,? so if you are allergic to pet hair request a non-pet room. They are adding an elevator (work in progress as of 2/15/2016) so access to the 2nd floor will be improved. Our bathroom area had 2 sinks, and was very clean. The lobby (bright and spacious) also serves as the breakfast area. The breakfast is the standard fare, nothing special, but fine for what we like.

The Rooms are Big and lots of space, Beds are very comfortable. We pulled in late after a very long bay of driving.the lady at the front desk was very nice polite and helpful. The room was awesome very clean. Bed was very comfortable. The only thing wrong with the room was the driect tv was out. The breakfast area was very small no room to fix your plate and everything was packed into a very small place.

Great friendly staff - check in easy! My room was okay size and a big window so lots of natural light. It was nice and quiet. Shower was good and hot. Wi-Fi worked excellently. There is food opportunities with in walking distance. I was able to park my big rig across the road behind the casino no problems. I left super early and didn't get to have breakfast.

« Pleasant surprise in Winnemucca »

While traveling home we stopped to spend the night in Winnemucca. We chose to stay at the Best Western based on price and were happy with our choice. The lobby is very nicely appointed and inviting with a stone fireplace and a huge chandelier. The breakfast area is located in the lobby and is filled with light from huge windows. Breakfast was a notch above the standard breakfast you get at other motels. Many of the usual items but prepared better and tastier. The room itself was large and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

    3
    « Clean and comfy »

It's a half way house between full scale hotel and motel, but it's done very well. There's a pool and hot tub and a business centre. But not a restaurant or bar (you have to walk to nearby retail park to get these). Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. It was , as advertised, quiet. Front desk staff seemed helpful and welcoming. Happy to recommend as a decent budget accommodation.

« This is one of my favorite hotels on the planet! »

OK, I sound like Goldie Locks...but this place is just right for me! I travel a lot. This place is super clean, comfortable, friendly, quiet, accommodating---and not too much. Lots of small extras and without a lot of fanfare. They do a good job. Stay there.

    3
« Not as good as before »

Our first stay here in five years - in 2010 we found it OK, but things have not gotten better. Our room smelt heavily of cigarette smoke, there was no fan in the bathroom and the coffee maker didn't work. Breakfast was also a bit disappointing: there was no fruit and all the tables (the place was not busy) were dirty. As before, the bed was adequate and the location is good. There are better places to stay, though, in Winnemucca.

    4
« Nice stop for weary travelers »

Winnemucca is an unlikely vacation destination, but a likely stopping point for travelers heading west or east on I-80. This Best Western is attractive and comfortable, from its lobby to the clean and spacious rooms. The rooms are well equipped with fridge, microwave, flat-screen TV and table and chairs. Wifi, of course, but extras like nice bath amenities and a pet blanket for those traveling with dogs. Breakfast, included, is adequate, although coffee too weak. (Note to management: try Starbucks.)

    2
    « Cost »

I was using the room to sleep only, I was leaving before the breakfast would be served and didn't use any of the amenities not even the coffee maker. They refused to discount the room and told me I could go down the road for a cheaper room. I have been a BW member for many years, this shocked me.

    4
« Comfortable room, quiet area, pleasant breakfast area and ok selection »

The room was large and so was the bed -- both comfortable. Liked the two sinks approach -- one inside and one outside the toilet. Internet was free and speeds ok. Breakfast area was large and pleasant with a gas fireplace to add ambiance to the snow outside.

    5
« Large clean room w/ Double Sinks »

Nice, large room with adequate mobile device/computer plug ins. The decor was average, but having 2 separated sinks was a plus. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, extra table and easy chair was convenient for spreading out. This hotel had the best and quietest heating system of the 4 Best Westerns I stayed at this week. The only slightly irritating thing was the buzz from the florescent bulbs in the inside bathroom.

    5
    « Beyond Expectations »

Our room was spotless and smelled fresh and clean. The room was very modern and unbelievable attention to detail such as Bath &Body amenities. Exceptionally quiet we never heard a sound . Curved shower curtain and large, thick towels were a welcome and appreciated surprise. Friendly, helpful staff, the maintenance man saw my husband struggling and helped him. Fantastic breakfast with staff paying exceptional attention to the breakfast bar and its needs. I have never stayed at a BW Plus to these even higher, fantastic standards!

« best option in town »

Get away from the cigarette smoke in the Casinos. This hotel is advertised as convenient, quiet and comfortable and it is all three. Great cozy lobby area where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and sit by the fire. Wouldn't choose to stay anywhere else in town.

    2
« Old and dirty and unfriendly »

I feel like I've missed something with all these great reviews. Admittedly, we were here after the holiday week, so maybe they were "struggling", but the staff was aloof (bordering unfriendly) at check-in, completely ignored us at breakfast (looked like she was surfing the net) while we all stood around waiting for a seat. There was debris (string, dirt clumps a spot of barfy looking substance) on the carpeting throughout the hallways and stairwells (on, no elevator either, so we had to lug my kids' massive suitcase up the stairs). It appeared as if a vacuum had not been run in several days. The carpet in our room was disgusting. It had several stains, was warped (bubbled in numerous places to the point one might even trip) and torn to shreds in several spots. There was dirt and dust in every corner of every room (including the hallways). The bathtub was gross - including a bathtub ring that looked like some dirty kids had used it last and it hadn't been washed since. Either that (or in addition to) it is just so old and stained it looks dirty in which case it should be replaced. The breakfast area had 3 chairs per table and only a few tables despite PLENTY of space to add more chairs and tables (not to mention the Christmas decor that was blocking half the room). Even those families that grabbed a table didn't have enough chairs to actually sit. I saw an elderly women sitting with her breakfast at the internet kiosk (you'd think a seated patron would have offered her a seat, but apparently the clientele here is sub-par too). We ate our breakfast standing up. It was a typical hot BW breakfast of eggs and sausage with various other items to choose from. The wi-fi barely worked in our room, although given that we were upstairs at the end of the hall, it may be that we were out of range. Normally, I don't "dock" a place because of this, but given everything else, I thought I'd mention it. My husband had stayed here several times and seems to think it's pretty good. I stayed here once a decade or so ago, and recall it was decent. He admitted though that this particular stay was "below average". I think it was just awful, particularly given the price charged. I only gave it a 2nd star for my hubby.

« Welcome overnight stop on the way to Idaho. »

The hotel is a convenient and well run facility. They are pet friendly with all pets in one section of the first floor. If you have mobility challenges, be advised there is no elevator. Internet is dependable and the complimentary breakfast is fine. Flavored hazelnut coffee is quite good.

The location was great. It was pet friendly; hot coffee, tea, cocoa, and a hot breakfast, if you choose. Small refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave in room. Pet area outside not far away from where we stayed.

    « Great hotel! »

Whats not to love about this place! Check-In was very quick and the staff was super friendly! The room was very spacious and I loved the extra seating. I also loved the vanity outside the bathroom with the large closet and mirrors. The room was also really clean and well kept.

    « Best in Winnemucca »

We stayed at the Best Western one night on our way to California. It is easy to find located of the main street going through town about midway so close walking to local casinos & restaurants. We knew when we booked it was two floors and no elevator we didn't think that would be a problem for us but is was a hassle when you are carrying suitcases & a cooler up two flights of stairs. The pictures of the lobby & rooms on their website are spot on. We had a couch, coffee table, desk, refrig, microwave(small) and large window. The room was clean, bed was nice & bathroom clean. The vanity is located right across from the mirrored closet so it was a little tight with two people trying to get ready and there was very little vanity counter space. There was plenty of parking and the lot was well lit. The only thing wrong was the pictures of the fitness center on line are not the hotels. The fitness center is a Fitness Center behind the hotel across the street in a strip mall. Although hotel guest have free access it was not really convenient to walk outside around the hotel, through a parking lot and cross a street to get to the strip mall to share a fitness center with the public. Besides that the staff was very friendly & accommodating.

We travel with our dog, which limits our options. Best Western is usually a good choice, however. This property was Ok, but below average, in my experience of Best Western. Friendly, clean and dry. What more is needed?

    « Second stay in 4 years »

This hotel was our second stay in 4 years and it was still one of the best hotels for an overnight stay. We were traveling east from California to Florida and having stayed there once, we wondered if it would be as good as our original experience. It turns out it was! Since we travel with our dogs, we enjoyed the nice grassy areas for them. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable providing us with a comfortable quiet nights sleep. The area has a few casinos, restaurants and a supermarket nearby

    « Great choice! »

We were just passing through and didn't need anything but a good nights sleep. This Best Western more than met our expectations. We had a large clean and comfortable room with extra seating. And they seemed to have tried to think of many of the little things that make travel more pleasant. Padded carpeting for those of us that may do exercise on the floor. Instant hot water - particularly important in these times of drought. Two sinks - one in and one out of the shower space. A magnifying mirror and hair dryer. A very good one-cup coffee maker (not a Keurig style). And of course breakfast was included.

Spacious room, no problems at all. Everything worked, was clean, and in like new condition. I always check for the Gideon's Bible and it was indeed there. We feasted on a great breakfast in the lobby area which saved us the price of breakfast and time to relocate at some other restaurant. Parking was spacious, convenient, and well lit in the evening.

An older Best Western. It was quite and the room clean. As with Best Western the beds are quite comfortable. If you gamble there is a casino next door. The staff was quite friendly. The AC was quite a plus for light sleepers

« Great place in Winnemucca »

We just needed a place to stay on our way elsewhere, but the Gold Country Inn was so much more. Very nice room, great towels, comfortable bed. It is NOT a casino, so there was the added benefit of no smoke smell or noise of a gambling environment. Breakfast was standard fare, but nice.

Just happened to end up in Winnemucca for the night, this Best Western was closest to where I could park my tractor / trailer . The room and whole place was excellent! Everything was top shelf quality. Very quiet room, plush pillow top bed, all amenities in the room were top quality. Just like I was at home. Can't go wrong with this one.

« Nice, clean, and pet friendly »

We have stayed in Winnemucca before when traveling through. We tried the Best Western this time and were so glad we did. We had a lovely room that was well appointed with everything we needed. They even had an extra sheet folded for our dog's use. The lobby was attractive, the check-in staff was friendly and efficient, and the breakfast was good. What more could one ask for?

« Gold Country Best Western Winnemucca, NV »

I have been staying here for the past 11 years. I travel alone most times from Idaho to California to visit family. I feel safe, comfortable, & welcomed at this hotel. I like that I can see my car from my room and there is a covered parking entry when I check in. They do accommodate pets, however, I have never noticed any odors in my rooms. The breakfast is wonderful and the attendant keeps it stocked and fresh.

« Wonderful stay, very pet friendly hotel »

We spent 1 night here on our way to and Oregon and again on the way home. Love this hotel! Very pet friendly. Great breakfast in the morning with eggs, sausage, rolls, cereal, yogurt, variety of juices, and waffles. They also give coupons to the casino next door for $$$ off drinks or food. No elevator, but very, very clean and comfortable queen size beds. I highly recommend the place. The casino next door offers good food and a really good salad bar.

    « Stopover »

We comfortably fit 6 people. The rooms were clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was poor. The croissants were moldy and when we showed the attendant she took the tray of them away. We will stay here again, but we will have breakfast somewhere else.

« It is Winnemucca so what can you say.... »

It is a Best Western and as such is predictable. Don't get me wrong I stay at Best Western all the time. I am just not sure what makes a Best Western a Best Western Plus. When I went to check in I had to find the front desk clerk who wad in front of the TV in the lobby to get her to help me. The room was clean and well stocked, no complaints there. The breakfast in the morning was standard fair, nothing special and certainly nothing that would denote this facility as a "plus". All and all it was fine, A place ot stay in Winnemucca on the way to somewhere else.

    « Good Respite »

This hotel is conveniently located and well maintained. Rooms are clean and the bathrooms are newly refurbished. Staff is friendly. We had our dog with us and there are plenty of places to walk. This hotel was built before ADA so there are no elevators. Advice re first floor was helpful. Best pet rooms are in the 180 block of rooms on first floor. Small patio area opens up to a large grassy area, great for pets.

« Great place and a very good staff running the hotel »

Had a group there two different days and the staff was very helpful to everyone. The rooms were clean and quiet, and the breakfasts were also very good. Lydie the manager was great to work with and she made sure that everything was perfect for our group.

    « Best Western Winnemucca »

Didn't know the area at all, so always go with Best WEstern and glad we did. Looking around, seemed like a lot of run down hotels. This best western was very clean and nice. Front desk very welcoming, which always is a great start. Usual breakfast items, which is perfect if you just don't feel like going out.

« Beautiful Quiet Place to Stay »

The lobby was beautifully decorated. My room was modern, very clean and comfortable. I was on the first floor facing the front parking lot. My room was very quiet. I was not disturbed by anyone or even traffic in the parking lot or on the road in front of the hotel. That was a bit of a surprise. I will definitely stay here again on my travels through Nevada.

« For Winnemucca, I guess it's one of your best options »

Leisure travel with dogs. It was a big room, furniture dated. When you walked in, there was a definite odor, which they seemed to try to cover up with a Febreze-type spray or something. It was bothersome for a time until I guess I got used to it! Nice to have 2 sinks. VERY clean shower! Lots of mirrors so you could see yourself. On the ground floor, so easy to get the pooches out to do their thing, and they had pet grassy areas with bags to help. Also very nice that there was no individual A/C unit for each room, which made it much quieter as you don't have to hear the unit cycling on and off all night! Decent breakfast included. Glass Glasses!

We normally stay at Best Westerns, but this time we had pets. Best Western Winnemucca said no problem and even provided pet bedspreads. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was good and appreciated as well. Definitely will stay here again if traveling this way.

This is are place to stay every time we go to Oakhurst, CA. We had deer in the yard the first couple of days. Very pleasant staff. Very safe place to stay. Rooms are large and arranged perfectly. We never even look at other places to stay. Totally satisfied and recommend Golden Counrtry Inn to every one. Plus we get Best Western points with our Best Western card.

From the moment we walked in the lobby this place was perfection! The staff was friendly, the room clean and spacious (which was a bonus when it came to my sister's walker). The free breakfast was diverse covering everything from breakfast biscuts to my fave greek yogurt! Will stay here again on the trip back home!

« Close, but no cigar »

For $120 bucks a night, you don't get your moneys worth. We've stayed with Gold Country Inn a half dozen times while passing through Nevada. Most of the hotels in Winnemucca suck, Gold Country Inn happens to suck less than others. Too bad they're overpriced for what you get. Rooms are clean, service staff is mediocre, breakfast is disappointing.

Getting to the hotel ...

All directions
·From: Interstate 80. Take Exit 176 to the BEST WESTERN PLUS Gold Country Inn.
