Charged for parking then did not have spaces available. Room cleaned only upon request, rented through king suite but few amenities were included. Did not tell us that you had to climb a large flight of steps with luggage to reach thebroom

Great location. Room was comfortable with an amazing view of the river. Problem was that the hotel (actually motel) was extremely dated and in need of an update. Room was not all that clean. Staff was nice and accommodating.

The front desk ladies and gentlemen were all very friendly, and ready to help you in any way they possibly could. We took an 18 month old puppy so we had a room on the first floor, and it was very clean, beds slept good, air and heat worked great. Breakfast both days was excellent, and the lady taking care of the breakfast bar kept it stocked continually. She also was very nice and we enjoyed talking to her. Coffee was perfect for the chilly morning air, and tasted delicous. This motel is also right in front of the River Walk, and the views are beautiful, and is a very short walk from downtown Wilmington. They also have a small dog park for your dogs to play in, which was very nice. I would definitely go back and highly recommend this motel to anyone, whether you have a dog, or not. I can't say enough good things concerning the staff and our stay at this Best Western.

We have stayed here twice, once for a concert and the location is great. However, if you don't like the sound of barking dogs all night stay away from here. If you can't keep your dogs quiet , please don't bring them to hotels. It was so bad we canceled second day and moved to Embassy Suites.

My husband and I had stayed here some years past, and were pleased. We didnt check reviews when planning this stay. The pros are the employees, very friendly and helpful. No carpet in room was a plus, they put out a nice breakfast, and the location is convenient to the river walk. Nice view of the water from our room. However, the room is sadly in need of an update. We were in room 201. The walls and trim are badly scuffed, the frame around the bathroom mirror was chipped and scraped. The room was just not what we expected. It looked dismal, at best. There was sand and grit in the shower, not even a soap dish in the bathroom, so that we had to try to pull up a block of wet sloppy soap to wash our hands each time. Not a nice place to relax on vacation. The doors to the stairwells were propped open with rocks, maybe so the employees could get out to smoke. The elevator was down one day for a while. The one ice machine did not function, and when my husband inquired at the desk, he was told to take the ice bucket to a hotel across the street, as the ice machine has been down "for a while ". He was told at the desk that the room had been recently updated. Cant imagine what it used to look like. Certainly not up to Best Westerns standards, and absolutely not a plus hotel.

Clean, comfortable room with fabulous view of the River. Complimentary breakfast was good but there aren't many restaurants for dinner within walking distance. If I am in this area in the future I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Parking is limited and if you're lucky enough to get a spot in front of the hotel there is a charge. Otherwise there is a public parking garage next door.

Over all a nice place to stay. The hotel was on the Riverwalk and all of the room have a great view of the river. You can walk down town if you want to, I recommend you walk to the main park of downtown because parking was a problem and expensive, side note. The beds are full size but comfortable, two adults would have a hard time sleeping in those beds unless you like sleeping very close together. The breakfast was good, its a full breakfast, eggs bacon or sausage potatoes etc… It's a older hotel but looked as if it had some updates. I would recommend it.

Very friendly staff - all from front door clerks to housekeeping. A few items could use some attention (grout on bathroom floor is black versus off-white, slow drain in shower, and cold water in sink was a trickle) but all considered it's a well-kept property. Good grassy areas to take dog to do their thing, including small fenced dog area that's well maintained. Things to note: Pier that extends from 2nd floor is closed (needs repairs?) Expect approx $10/day in taxes. $30 per day charge for dog. Parking is $13/day.

They charge $13/day for parking and it isn't disclosed while making a reservation. Also, my room had a shower and toilet full of mold. If I had an allergy, I wouldn't have been able to stay. Staff was really nice.

We have stayed at the Best Western Plus Coastline Inn before but it has been several years since our last stay. We enjoyed the location - close to downtown, on the riverfront with easy walking to nearby shops and restaurants. A lot has changed since the last visit. This hotel is showing its age: 1. Peeling paint in the bathroom. 2. The DOWN button to call for the elevator on the 3rd floor does NOT work - you have to press the UP button to summon the elevator. We reported this but no one fixed it. 3. The private dock that can be accessed from the 2nd floor is moldy and rotting so it is blocked off from guests for safety reasons. That is all well and good but this was one of our favorite things about this hotel from previous stays. 4. Instead of doing maintenance about the above items, there was loud fat woman and her crew who scarfed down lots of food at breakfast that were replacing the working 38 inch t.v.s with new 55 inch t.v.s. 55 inches is just about too big for those rooms which are not very big to begin with. With a new Embassy Suites and a new Aloft hotel right beside this one, they had better watch out. Folks will be staying there – us included – instead of at the Best Western Plus Coastline.

I would not be as dissatisfied if the price wasn't so high. The rooms were old and in pretty bad condition. The location was good, but I'd rather walk for better price/value. We had two beds that were smaller than my daughters full. The staff was helpful and the room was clean- but everything was old and run down. The paint in the bathroom was peeling and the fan clearly didnt work well because the whole room smelled like mildew. The fitness center was a small room with a few machines (one broken). Again, it would have been fine if the price reflected the run down condition.

Great views from the rooms and extremely pleasant and welcoming employees. I appreciate that, while pet friendly, they reserve upper floors for guests without pets. Room could have been a little cleaner.

The River view room was nice and clean with a great view. The bed was comfy too. However there was, from the sound of his loud barks, a rather sizable dog next door which barked and was a true nuisance! It was so annoying I had to call the front desk clerk. And I specifically requested a quiet room. Plus the elevators were not working and we had to haul our luggage to the second floor. They should have offered a discount for the inconvenience.

This team know and show great customer service. Everyone speaking and smiling. Seems like everyone love their job therefore had no problem making me feel comfortable with my stay. Breakfast each morning was awesome. Breakfast area clean with staff member there in case you need assistance. Room clean! Great river views from the room. Front desk awesome and very helpful. All staff member that I came in contact was nothing but great and treated me as family.

From the moment I walked in I was impressed by the clean smell (yes, it smelled CLEAN!) and the friendly staff. Everything from there to check out was great. It has a local place feel, everyone I talked to who works there was happy and friendly. The room was nice and even the breakfast was great. I'll be back for sure!

The hotel was clean, very comfortable and the staff was kind and helped us way above and beyond what was necessary. I would recommend this to anyone! We had a medical emergency and they helped guide us to the hospital immediately and helped take care of our pet while we were gone. Kudos to the staff!

I have stayed here twice for the Wilmington Historic Half & 5k race. Great proximity to the start line, great breakfast and wifi. I love Roz and Ant at the front desk! They always take great care of me!

I am from Alabama. My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our experience here at Best Western Plus Coastline! The staff was very friendly & helpful. Our room was nice & clean. The breakfast was great! Our room had a beautiful view of the Cape Fear River. Parking was crowded at times, but there were several big events going on in the area when we were there so it wasn't any different than anywhere else we saw. Would definitely go here again!

The room was clean, everything was in great working condition. The atmosphere was relaxing. The staff was warm, welcoming, and accommodating. My furbaby loved the dog park and room. Great location on the riverwalk.

This Best Western Plus Hotel in Wilmington was the most beautiful and cleanest Hotel I've ever seen! The staff was so accommodating and friendly! The view of the Waterfront was marvelous! I definitely recommend this Hotel!

We came to Wilmington for a concert at the Pavilion. Best Western provided the best accommodations imaginable, and, big plus: within walking distance to the venue. All rooms face the riverfront. View from our room was impossibly beautiful. The riverwalk is a few steps outside the hotel door: so scenic! There are so many interesting shops, restaurants, etc. within easily walkable distance, Roz, who works there was a delight to speak with. She's the main reason that we will be back there. We're totally satisfied with our visit!

Coastline realty worked well with our rental reservation and answered our questions when we called. Our rental was in the off season and we were not aware there was an additional cost for the hot tub until the week of our arrival. Even the additional cost for the pool was vague. The person apologized and we definitely needed both so we paid. The persons at check in and check out were friendly and easiest check in we have had. The rental house was phenomenal and ever thing we wished for- beachfront, pool, hot tub, equipped kitchen (awesome), plenty of bedrooms and tvs. Renting again next year!

Recommend Best Western highly. Super clean room and very friendly staff. The view from our room on the fourth floor of the river and river walk included walkers, boats of all kinds, dolphins, and the Battleship. After my meetings walking to great restaurants was easy. Very quiet rooms.

The room was over priced for what you get, the only thing you're paying for is the river view and the location of being in downtown Wilmington. The room wasn't the cleanest and room service never cleaned once in my 3 night stay. Also, there is a $13/per day parking fee that wasn't explained to me prior to arriving. But good luck actually using the parking slip, because you are sharing a parking lot with multiple businesses and it gets full quick.

This hotel has all rooms with a river view, and is close enough to the Battleship NC to see. I am in a wheelchair and the ramp to the front door is not covered..and the entry into room 301 was too steep for my wheelchair to go over, unless I backed in, but the room was big enough, but the bathroom was really small. The only handicapped rooms they have are only king beds, so where does a caregiver sleep, comfort inn? the room had a small fridge, microwaves are in king suites, only. The breakfast was hot and good, even though I am gluten and lactose intolerant. They had eggs, sausage or bacon, grits, oatmeal, cereal, soy milk, fresh fruit and more. All the staff was friendly, the rooms were clean. Most if not all the corridors are outside, so you could get rain blown wet.

This place sits right on the river and was exceptionally clean. The location is perfect for walking the boardwalk and getting to the down town historic district. The breakfast was perfect for our stay and convenient. Our room was very modern and clean with no carpet, as the flooring was perfect.

Great hotel right on waterway with beautiful waterviews! Easy and safe parking! Staff could not have been friendlier from front desk to custodians, Roz at front desk was especially warm and helpful. good breakfasts with good selections. Comfey beds and clean!!! Hotel is with in easy walking to the historic downtown area. oh and the allow pets!

The staff is wonderful. Room was clean, beautiful view of water, bed was divine, good channels on tv (highly recommend MTVclassic while getting ready!) parking is easy, walk from this hotel to everything in downtown! Felt safe at hotel, which is a big deal esp. as a solo traveler. Full Breakfast and coffee in the AM, and accommodating of pets without an unreasonable fee like you'll find at other “pet friendly” hotels. Did I mention the staff is wonderful. Stay here! Will be back again 10/10.

This is the first Best Western Plus I have stayed at. It was a lovely location, great, helpful staff, and easy to check in and check out. The inside of the room was updated and the bed was comfortable.

I have never encountered a more accommodating facility and staff in all of my travels. It was by far the most pet friendly hotel I have ever stayed at. All the staff was friendly and pleasant. I highly recommend them!

We had a great view of the river from our room. The hotel is right next to the Riverwalk and there were numerous quality restaurants within walking distance. The staff was friendly and cooperative and the breakfast was OK. Our room was very good and well insulated from outside noise. Be prepared to pay $13 dollars a day for parking. The hotel needs a few updates but we will be returning here in the future.

Great location. The room was very small and fridge had no freezer so couldn't refeeze coldpaks for next days travel. Staff very friendly and efficient. $13 to self-park in their uncovered parking lot was excessive.

Came to Wilmington for a concert & wanted a hotel close to the venue so that we could walk. Best Western was perfect and our room had a nice river view. Room was clean, we were able to check in a little early with no problem. All the staff were kind, polite and helpful. A little disappointed that we had to pay a daily parking fee, considering the price of the room.

The hotel is appealing and our stay on the river was wonderful. Being the middle of the week and before summer break, the area was quiet. Walking distance to downtown and the Riverwalk is right out the back of the building.

So glad we chose Best Western Plus Coastline Inn for our recent stay in Wilmington. The concierge made us feel welcome immediately upon arrival. She was very friendly and upgraded our room to a suite upon noticing that I was a BW rewards member. We were given a first floor king suite with a fantastic view of the Cape Fear River and right on the Riverwalk. The location was very convenient and walkable to the nearby shops and restaurants. Our suite was clean, comfortable and spacious. Having a sofa, small dining table and chairs, two TVs, in-room refrigerator made our stay enjoyable. The only downside to the hotel was that the breakfast room was much too small to accommodate the number of weekend guests. Many guests seem to take their food back to their rooms. We were lucky to find a table along the open air passageway. The breakfast food was much better attended to and kept in better supply on the weekday as opposed to the weekend. I would recommend staying here when my family and friends travel to Wilimington.

Perfect for walking along the river to restaurants, ice cream, shops and activities! Close to near by attractions and UNC. Beds were OK, hotel was clean, breakfast was good. Had issues altering reservation because I booked with points and paid more than I would have liked even though plans changed prior to cutoff cancelation date. I had to rebook and lose original price. Friendly staff.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. Much improved since my last visit, the construction right outside the hotel is complete and the hot breakfast is back! The location is a big plus and the staff were amazing. One thing to note, there is now a $13 fee each day for parking (previously included with stay). Overall a great stay.

Best Western Plus Coastline Inn was one of the greatest stays I've ever had. If you're looking to explore downtown Wilmington this hotel is great. The location made it easy to navigate downtown and the view of the river from the rooms was picture perfect. The staff were the friendliest I've ever encountered! Will definitely go back!

I was in Wilmington, NC for a conference and was unable to get a room at the host hotel. At first I was disappointed but the organizers got a block of rooms at the Best Western. Staying here instead was the wonderful. Front desk customer service was great, I LOVED the view of Cape Fear River when I went into my room, the room was clean and best of all, breakfast was included. I went to the conference and people that stayed at the host hotel had complaints of their rooms being dirty upon arrival and they did not get complimentary breakfast. I also enjoyed the brief walk along the river walk to the host hotel. Did I mention my room was $30 less? I highly recommend, this is a great place to stay for a conference.

I have been visiting this hotel for several years to enjoy Wilmington's amazing restaurants, river walk & near-by beaches. It is a great combination of LOCATION, staff and amenities at a very reasonable cost. All of the rooms have views of the river and spectacular sunsets.

Superior customer service, great amenities, excellent and tranquil views. When visiting Wilmington, will stay here again. Close to everything. Most is within walking distance. I was here for a conference and the host hotel was booked solid when I made reservations. I stayed her by default and had a better experience than those who paid more. Besides the amenities, customer service was superior.

We went to Wilmington for our anniversary and booked the tower room. The views were amazing, the staff could not have been better. The location to the historical distance, puts everything within walking distance. We had a wonderful time, can't wait to go back.

A beautiful hotel right on the river walk. You can get just about anywhere walking distance and the staff is 10/10. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you have a pet like me! I can't wait to return.

My son and I visited for an event at Cape Fear Community College. We stayed three nights to add on some sightseeing. I am so happy that I chose this hotel! A river view room on the 4th floor was like watching a painting come to life at sunset. We felt we were in a bubble as our room was so quiet and comfortable - we heard no noise from other guests. Everything was very clean. Yes, parking is $13 a night and clearly noted on the website. I considered it very reasonable for the security provided. Front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast staff were professional, warm, and friendly. We loved our stay and hope to come back. Make sure to check out the Railroad Museum adjacent to the hotel, as it was excellent. Thank you!

Excellent location directly on the riverwalk; close to everything, but in a nice, quiet area. Every room has a view of the River. Recommended for people traveling with dogs. Wonderful places to walk. “The George” restaurant at the other end of the riverwalk is dog-friendly and has excellent food.

The staff here are great and helpful. Rooms are clean and quiet. The view of the river from the rooms are beautiful. There are great places to eat, grab a drink, or even a good cup of coffee all in walking distance.

I was in town for a half marathon and had forgotten a few things. The staff was super helpful! Really liked the rain showerhead and the laminate floors - way better than carpet! Could not have asked for better. Breakfast was great too with lots of options!

The walls are super thin and we could hear EVERYTHING. We could hear our neighbors full conversation about the dog barking upstairs. It was as if we were in the same room as them. The beds are super uncomfortable and the pillows are half the size as normal pillows...why? The breakfast was sub-par, options are limited and if you have any dietary restrictions, good luck! I gave two starts mainly for the staff and location. The hotel is conveniently located on the river near the community college and the staff were very nice and courteous. This is more like a 80/90 dollar a night hotel to me, regardless of the location. It's a hole but they allow pets and I was traveling with my dogs.

Best location on the riverwalk. The river is right outside your window if you book river view room. It is worth paying a tiny bit more for the view! Sunsets are glorious! You can see the Battleship across the river from the hotel. Huge walk in shower. large bathroom overall. spacious room. Fridge and desk as well as chair in corner. extra clean and the staff is so kind and friendly. Helpful staff all of them attentive which helps make a trip even better!!! Walkable to the cotton exchange where there is an Irish pub and a german cafe! The train museum is right in front of hotel and worth a visit. Quiet area to stay and so enjoyable!!!

This choice was last minute on my visit to Cape Fear Community College. The views from my room were exceptional including the sunset. This hotel was so nice it was better than my high priced vacation.

Stayed here on a trip to visit the USS North Carolina. It was right on the Riverwalk which made walking to any restaurant in the area very easy. Hotel was clean and although I usually don't care for outside doors this was better than most. Breakfast was available - masks were required - and most foods were individually wrapped which was a definite plus. Usual hotel breakfast fare - but certainly enough to get my day started. Employees were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

We are coming in town for the Ironman and our AirBnB that we booked back in March cancelled on us just today(3 weeks before the race). Of course everything is booked, so we have to switch hotels once. I think I have called Roz 6 times today with questions. Every single time she was so lovely and helpful and was able to get me a room for the one night we had nothing! I work in hospitality and know that she is one that this hotel should hold on to for a long time!! Thank you, Roz! Can't wait to meet you!

Amazing customer service!!!! We had a terrible experience at the courtyard by Marriott and they changed our hotel location from downtown to Eastwood without any notice. We cancelled our reservation because we needed to be downtown. So we made a last minute reservation at the best western. ROZ LONGO was so sweet from our first phone call to check out. She quickly got us a room and was sympathetic to our struggles. Great views, clean room, and amazing service! 10/10 recommend, unlike courtyard by Marriott.

Beautiful setting located right on the river. The river boardwalk extends in each direction with great eating establishments within walking distance as well as other activities such as river cruises , Battle ship tour and etc. Great setting for romantic getaway.

My daughter, our dog and I accompanied my husband here for business meetings in Wilmington. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. The best part is the dog-friendly accommodations - it was fun walking the dog on the Riverwalk. It's also very convenient to walk 10-15 min to great restaurants. The staff is super friendly and the breakfast was decent for Covid times. You only get maid service if you are there longer than 3 days so I was constantly asking for more towels and shampoo at the front desk and taking our food outside to throw away. The fitness room had a nice set of weights and a bench that I used with a YouTube workout but there was no spray to disinfect afterwards (as the posted instructions indicated) and the other fitness equipment was dated. Unfortunately, I can't say that the price was worth it. The layout of our King suite was smart with a “breakfast bar” with coffeemaker, refrigerator, microwave with mirror and outlet that could double as a vanity. The craziest was that you couldn't close the pocket door to the bedroom! What's the point of having a suite if you don't have that privacy?! The LVT floor felt dirty underfoot. There was no dresser to unpack your clothes. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. The WiFi was so slow that sometimes we couldn't even use it. Again, overall we enjoyed our visit but this hotel is really expensive (with daily pet fee and daily parking fee) for what you get.

The staff is so sweet and the room was has a wonderful view:). Loved the dock!! We could see the whole river and watch the sunset:). There isn't a pool but there is so much to do that we didn't miss it:). Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

This was the perfect hotel to stay at during the 4th of July. Watching the fireworks from our window was amazing for our small children. We had a perfect view. The best thing about this hotel is the STAFF. From the front desk, to the breakfast attendant, to the janitorial staff, everyone was amazing and so sweet to our little ones! This hotel allows dogs, but you could not tell. Our stay was quiet and our room was fresh and clean. No animal smalls or intrusive barking.

Great room. We stayed on the third floor. Very convenient to the breakfast area. The check-in and checkout experience was great. The view of the Cape Fear River was awesome in the morning. The motel could use outside benches on the riverside to relax in in the evening.

I love this hotel because the AC actually works at night when sleeping, unlike other hotels that have that stupid setting where if you have the temperature set at a level that is lower than outside it doesn't work, so friggin annoying! But not this hotel, this sucker cools it down nice and cold when trying to sleep. If I got to a hotel that has one of those dumb AC units I write a 1 star review and never stay at that CHAIN again. Thank you for having a real AC unit!! The hotel was clean and a few minutes walk from everything downtown. Staff was extremely friendly!

I think this hotel is overpriced for what you get in your accommodations. The room was clean, albeit small, the AC worked and there was plenty of hot water. But the closet was a joke, the doors to the bathroom blocked access to the closet and .bed needed a new mattress.

Roz and her staff are among the best you'll ever find in any hotel. They take care of each guest as if they are the only guest. Can't ask for anything more. Meanwhile, the location on the waterfront is outstanding. Normally I only see much more expensive hotels in such a location. This was one of the bets hotel experiences I've ever had.

At check-in, I was presented with a full page list of rules that my pet was required to follow. And while we followed them, our next door neighbor was allowed to leave their constantly barking dog in their room for hours, despite my mentioning it several times. I was also informed there would be no daily housekeeping due to "labor shortages". Whenever we needed fresh towels, linens, or trash removed, we had to go to the front desk. The room had a nice river view, but there was a lot of construction all around the hotel, including the part of the riverwalk access to downtown restaurants.

We stayed here 3 night, staff were very friendly and helpful. Despite the covid restrictions they were very creative with their breakfast options. The hotel is right on the Cape Fear River near the north end of the River Walk, restaurants, breweries and attractions close by.

The Lady (Roz) at the front desk. Is welcoming, pleasant and accommodating, it was almost like going to stay at a friend's house. I asked for a reasonable late check out, she didn't even think it twice. That's the way it should be. Aside from her, the rest of the staff at the property were very nice and friendly. Location is perfect. Thank you!!!

This hotel is right on the riverwalk. Great location. Easy walk to many locations. The staff was fantastic and very welcoming. I loved that we were able to bring a 4-legged baby with us. It is not a 5 star hotel and we knew that going in. If you are looking for affordable, friendly, comfortable place in Wilmington this is it.

Traveling with my wife for leisure trip. Warm appearance, friendly staff, good value, clean convenient to local resources. Room was clean, bedding comfortable, tv stations have good options parking well lit. Staff at breakfast very efficient friendly and welcoming. View of river and Battleship NC from the room was very pleasant. Boardwalk convenient to access for a leisurely walk.

The rooms were clean and modern but on the small side. The beds were very comfortable but pillows were so so. We would have liked comfortable seating and a microwave. The river view was awesome...loved seeing the Battleshio!

Service was excellent. Front desk personnel were quite helpful in answering questions regarding places to dine and see while in the area. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The view of the river front from the room were lively.

The Coastline Inn is a great location in historical Wilmington. You can walk to the restaurants and bars. I absolutely love Wilmington, the Riverfront and the old historical feel. The hotel's location is perfect and the staff is phenomenal. You will not be disappointed.

Very happy and sad to have only been able to stay one night. Front desk at check-in was so helpful and rewarded me with an upgrade to a suite for being a Diamond Select member. Check-out was a breeze with express. I will definitely be back for another stay.

While planning a visit to them Wilmington area on Tripadvisor I read the majority of reviews of Best Western Plus Coastline. These reviews mentioned friendly staff, comfortable beds and great location, etc. Upon our arrival at the front check in there were no smiles, "welcome", enjoy your stay. We seemed like an inconvenience. Got our Riverview room, which was more prison like than cozy --- faux wood floors, no dressers, bleak decor, tiny bathroom. Stopped at front desk to ask directions to a specific nearby restaurant and was told the desk person was not "on the clock" and could not help us. The other person was on the phone. We found the restaurant on our own. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Roz at front desk is a sweetheart. Room views are fabulous. Price was great. We stayed in the suite with a king bed and queen sofa. Even exceeded our expectations. Staff was very nice especially Roz. We will be back.!!

Very good accomadations with great views of the Cape Fear River & the U.S.S. Carolina Battleship. Staf were very personal and professional at all timers as well as extreamly helpful. Room was clean and as we traveled with a pet (Beagle) they have a very nice pet area out back on the riverfront.

My wife and our golden retriever loved our stay at the Coastline BW. The river and their dock was right outside our room, along with the riverwalk. Since the property is gated I have always felt safe as a female traveler. Fancier, more expensive hotels are nearby but the cleanliness, friendliness and comfort here keeps me coming back. I highly recommend this hotel!

Amazing experience. It was a great location to nearby food and downtown. I loved being right on the river and having a pier to walk out and take in all the views. We will definitely stay here for our future trips to Wilmington.

Stayed here for a weekend for my husband's birthday. Great experience! Staff is SUPER FRIENDLY and accommodating! Stayed in a king suite which has views up and across the river. Went to the Railroad Museum across the street....WOW! It was amazing! Everything is within walking distance...Restaurants, shopping, etc. Located directly on The Riverwalk. Dog friendly too. We'll bring our fur babies next time!

This hotel is in a great location, however some of the rooms need upgrading. We booked a suite and were surprised to discover we had two flights of stairs in our room. The room was large, however the furniture looked old and not very clean (stains on cushions). There were curtains missing on some of the windows, so it was very hard to sleep because the street lights were very bright. We were offered another suite which was nice, however it was a pet friendly room and you could tell pets it was a pet friendly room. The staff were very nice and accommodating, however we decided to shorten our stay and checked out.

I love the location! Due to Covid, room cleaning was as requested. Staff was so friendly and very nice all the time. Breakfast was ok due to the circumstances, We had few choices. Great hotel to bring your dogs!

We were right on the water way, view of the Riverwalk and dock. Spectacular grounds, very clean and quiet. Convenient to walk to town or stroll on the Riverwalk to the marina. Room was clean and well appointed. The hallways to the rooms are exterior access but the multiple angles dissuade guests from running up and down. Pet friendly and reasonable fee. Bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast attendant was very nice, also paid close attention to guests following their safety protocols.

We had an enjoyable four day stay over Thanksgiving at this hotel. The first room door lock was not operating so they promptly moved us to a new room. We did not like the music coming over the loud speakers that seemed to be on repeat, it played later in the evening as were in the room trying to relax, did not complain about that or the volume. We had a lovely view from our King Bed room of Cape Fear and the Riverwalk which was very relaxing and made for some pleasant walks each day. The area surrounding the hotel is under construction so that was a bit much, but we found that did not interfere overall with the comfort and walkability to area restaurants, shops, we barely drove unless we were headed away from downtown. We visited Carolina & Kure Beach both within an easy 30 minute drive South, we went to Topsail Beach on the northern side and overall, really found the location very central to what we needed. Overall if we need to return to the area, I would stay here again for the friendly service and location.

We had a suite on the bottom corner, and could not only see the Cape Fear River, but also the USS NC Battleship. The sunset was beautiful. The riverwalk was a great place to walk our dog, and we could walk to shops and restaurants.

Good hotel. Room was clean and tidy when we arrived. The hotel is at a great location, along the river and close to downtown and all attractions. The breakfast was grab and go due to Covid. Front desk staff were very friendly each time we walked by. They had a microwave in the lobby that was available to use and there was a fridge in the room. No daily maid service due to covid but they were friendly and made the process of exchanging out towels easy.

AC broken and reported first day . Room was given two floor fans. Average room temp about 80 whole time . No calls or concern to see if fans helped . Staff was friendly just not going to do more than fans . Three story suite is very hot at the tops without AC

It is difficult to travel with 2 four5 legged children . Pet friendly hotels are few and some are old and somewhat neglected. this is the second time i come to this hotel in the past 4 years and they impressed me. The floors and rooms have been updated, even though this hotel is old it is quiet. Rooms are clean, staff is helpful. Coffee and a bag breakfast is offered. Sanitation stations all around. walk the Pier and feel the river breeze. Near shopping and restaurants. can't beat that.

Very nice location right near the boardwalk. There is lots of construction going on there now but it is mostly still accessible. The staff was great-everyone wearing masks and taking proper precautions. Rooms have been somewhat updated but could definitely use even more updates. They seemed clean enough but just older. Odd smell. It is an outdoor entry (like a motel) but you have to go through the lobby area to access all rooms. We felt safe. For the weeknight price, would consider staying here again. But not for the weekend price.

This was an excellent room. Top cover on bed could have been a little more fluffy, but overall great experience. Loved the large walk in shower and rainfall shower head. No carpet and attractive furniture. The best part was the view! Beautiful Cape Fear River right outside our window. Will definitely stay here again!

was surprised how dirty it was. Stayed in October, I was wearing white socks and was appalled at how dirty the floors were, Also had to wipe down the desk and furniture and the cleaning wipes were dirty. Probably the grossest part was hand prints allover the headboard. Workout room is very limited and old machines. Breakfast room is a locked up small room, not open during the day like other BW. Was just surprised considering the price and staying at other ones how not upscale this one is, especially being labeled Plus.

Exceedingly awesome staff. Excellent Room, Housekeeping amazed me, and the Riverwalk is out the front door. Parking was Easy, Portico pull thru entrance. The City and River is at your feet close to a ton of great restaurants, Pubs, and small local shops.

Hotel was clean and had beautiful views of cape fear. Walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. We did not have the continental breakfast but hotel offered continental breakfast and has a fitness room. Comfortable and quiet, staff was professional but kind. Gorgeous greenery outside on the hotel grounds and private dock overlooking the river.

Great location, plenty of shops and places to eat near by. Walking path along the water right out the door. Starting and finish line for the 1/2 marathon I was running was about two blocks away. although the view was great maybe ask for an upper room if you want to see out further. would stay there again.

This Best Western was a very pleasant and friendly place to stay. The views from my room number 408 were fantastic of the Cape Fear River. It was quite except for the one of two large boats heading up river that would pass by and a joy to watch. Everything is within walking distance to the city. Also if you love trains there is a museum right on the property, so kool. I would recommend this as a very nice plase to stay.

Too many good things to say....so I'll just say this place is great. Location, staff, etc. I would recommend getting the King Suite. It has a corner view of the river. You can see the battleship and the rest of downtown. All amazing.

We stayed at the Best Western on the Cape Fear River and couldn't have been happier. We had out dog with us so the choices of hotels was limited. Even without the dog I would choose to stay here again. The location on the river was awesome. We walked to the downtown district several times without any problems.

First Impressions are everything...the hotel concierge's went beyond the norm in both service and kindness. The room was immaculate. We had a beautiful view of the river! Book a room with a view of the river!! We did not eat at the hotel.

View from all the room was of the Cape Fear river, and was beautiful. Breakfast has eggs, sausage, all kinds of cereal, waffles....... heck, they had everything.. Location was the best in the city, right on the river walk.

Hotel was perfectly located at a reasonable price with very helpful and friendly staff. Close enough to downtown to enjoy and walk to all festivities but blocks away to prevent interruption with a peaceful stay. Will definitely return in the future!

Convenient to downtown bars, restaurants, and entertainment. They are one of few that allow pets so that's a major plus. The breakfast was decent but packed in a tiny room. Everything was pretty nice.

Excellent Breakfast, the Bacon was perfect, as well as the scrambled eggs. The location on the riverwalk provided a great view from the room as well as a short walk to downtown historic Wilmington. Would definitely recommend this Hotel for a stay.

I stayed at this hotel mainly due to location for the Wilmington 70.3 Ironman, but received such amazing hospitality that I would stay there again. Not only was the location perfect - not even 1/4 mile to expo, finish line, great dining, but the staff went out of their way to ensure all my needs were met. They even hosted early breakfast for the athletes! The hotel was historic, right on the boardwalk, and so peaceful.

I have been staying at this hotel for years. There are several big name hotels in the area. But the staff makes you feel at home. Very friendly and helpful. This is the only hotel I will stay at when I am in Willington

Our room was so bad that I bought cleaning supplies and cleaned it myself because when I asked for the room to be cleaned while we were gone, it still wasn't clean. Basic cleaning.... dust everywhere, floor was sticky, hand prints on window, hair on floor (not mine) a/c filter so clogged it barley worked.

Horrible experience. Parked where check in lady said to and cars where towed. Went thru hours of my day to get my 2 vehicles back.and had to pay out of pocket as they drug their feet to resolve issues .even with cameras in lobby it was Oh no I didnt say that.till another staff stepped in to say yeah you did.i remember,smh worst hotel experience ever. I visit hotels every week being that I have a traveling job and best western will definitely be off our list to stay in corporately. They tax you twice for pet free instead of all at once.so to charges are put on your card.and Jackieblake the gm was cold,short and tried to fast talk me about the situation. No carry once so ever.

I stayed here from August 21 through August 26, 2019 in conjunction with the North Carolina Shell Show, which was held in the adjacent convention facility. The front desk, housecleaning, and breakfast people were all helpful and pleasant. The room was comfortable, quiet and had a great view of the Cape Fear River. A full and excellent breakfast was included each day as part of the room rate, which was not cheap but fair for the package provided. Two nicely functional computers were available for visitor use in the Inn lobby. The front desk people went out of their way to help me with the logisitics of the UPS-shipped packages associated with the shell convention.

Stayed at hotel with our dog. It was a good choice for a couple with one pet. Hotel was nice, but the downtown area seemed really quiet at night. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. Breakfast was included but food quality could be improved.

We had a very pleasant stay with a good hot breakfast the next morning. The location was ideal for a long walk along the riverfront. Our room faced the river which we enjoyed. We did not notice any noise if there was any. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We thought the price was a little high, but considering the time of the year it wasn't extreme. We will stay there again in the future.

I was booked here for business and had never stayed at this property. I was pleasantly surprised. The front staff was professional, helpful, and very accommodating. The room was immaculate and I could walk out of my room directly on to a pier. It was very quiet and in a great location. I will definitely be back.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Coastline Inn. I booked last minute using Hotwire instead of my Best Western account, and wasn't sure how nice a hotel for that price in a tourist region would be. The room was clean, well appointed, with good, solid wifi, and a great view of the river/USS North Carolina. The hotel is also connected to the Wilmington Riverwalk, which let me have an easy jogging route each morning. You're not too far of a walk from most of the tourist district, and but a short drive to the beaches, so the location is excellent. Would definitely stay again.

The room was comfortable and clean, the room was ready upon arrival and check in was quick and easy. Staff was friendly and helpful. The location on the Cape Fear River is great and it is next door to the Wilmington Convention center. The rooms have an excellent view of the river.

It was a pleasure to stay at the Best Western Coastline Inn. There are many hotels and F/R/B/O accommodations to chose from in the Wilmington/Cape Fear/Wrightsville Beach location; however, the experienced staff namely: Antranece, Roz, Juanita,and Rita make ones stay distinguishable from all others. At the front desk, Roz and Antranece are welcoming, efficient and responsive in handling all hotel guest issues timely and with satisfactory results. In the breakfast room, Juanita is affectionately known as “Granny.” She is friendly and caring. The quality continental breakfast that she oversees has impressed me with its cleanliness. The condiments and toppings have easy and separate access from the food items. Equally important, Granny refurbishes every item diligently. This breakfast is filled with delight: coffee, tea and and juices, scrambled eggs with sausage or bacon, cereals, yogurt, Belgium waffles with toppings, bread, bagels, muffins and fresh fruit. In housekeeping, Rita makes herself available to all hotel guest. She is friendly, makes eye contact, and is genuinely interested if you have any guest room needs. Thank you to the staff: Antranece, Juanita, Roz, and Rita, and thanks to management for maintaining this phenomenal staff....

The location was very convenient and the view of the river and USS North Carolina battleship was spectacular. Rooms were quiet and clean, staff was friendly and the breakfasts were good. No complaints and I will definitely return.

The hotel is very conveniently located, many things are within walking distance. The employees are very friendly and courteous. For example, we could check in 2 hours before the regular check-in time. . We had a room with river-view. It was very nice and perfectly clean. The breakfast room is without windows, but there are 3 small tables outside. The breakfast is not stunning, but complimentary and therefore in any case okay.

This is a hidden gem! Wonderful hotel, great welcoming staff, and feet from the riverwalk and great restaurants. Highly recommend. The room was clean and recently renovated, comfortable beds, just big enough for the 3 of us.

In town for a weeding we stayed at Coastline Inn. Very nice staff. Great location with a boardwalk along the water. Easy drive to some other spots. Good breakfast buffet. You do need to drive in order to get lunch or dinner but a number of good spots within 5 to 10 minutes.

The Best Western Coastline is lovely but what really makes it special is Roz at the front desk! Warm, welcoming reception from the moment we opened the door! The hotel is small, charming, immaculately kept and the location is great. Rooms are large and well thought out. Breakfast is included. Roz? We'll see you soon!

Booked Best Western for a business trip. Perfect location to downtown Wilmington and my room faced the water - gorgeous view! Although doors open to the exterior of the building, the hotel layout is very secure and I slept wonderfully. Great breakfast - very clean.

This was our second July 4th stay at Best Western Plus Coastline Inn though we have stayed at other times of the year. The staff is very helpful and as a bonus, the city's fireworks display is right outside our room. On a hot, muggy night this was definitely the way to celebrate the 4th.

Wonderful staff. Everyone was exceptional. Great location within walking distance to everything downtown and situated right on the Riverwalk . Parking on site is another great benefit if this location.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and are always happy with our room and especially with the warm and welcoming staff. Beautiful views of the Cape Fear river and downtown Wilmington enhance the experience and it is conveiniently located so you can walk to anywhere downtown or the riverwalk. Best of all is the staff, from the front desk to the ladies who prepare a great continental breakfast to the housekeeping staff, they are friendly, professional and helpful.

Roz is always professional and ready to assist. Asked for specific room room and they were able to accommodate was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was hot with great options. Checked in and out with express option. Great views!

We stayed here for a three-day weekend in June, 2019. Friday and Saturday are pricey, but Sunday is more affordable. The staff was unbelievably friendly and hard working. The room was amazingly clean. The only reason I did not give it a five star was because it is "away" from the riverwalk (2+ blocks outside). I recommend highly if you don't mind walking!

This hotel is interesting. next door to a train museum. it is on the riverwalk which is nice to walk on and see the river. Beaware though that the rooms are very small. breakfast is very good. In the old downtown area.

I came to Wilmington to my bestfriends competition. And I decied to stay at this hotel this weekend and had a great experience. The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. The rooms were neat and very clean. The only thing I would change is the limited parking space. Once I parked my car I did not move it at all. The restaurants were in walking distance and I enjoyed my peace and quiet.I will stay here again. Thank yall so much.

Very serene river view; quiet except for some minor construction noise. Tastefully refurbished with a very friendly staff. A quirky layout of the property which ended up in many of the walkways and outdoor spaces being used by smokers. I think security needs to be beefed up as I found the much bally-hooed Riverwalk to be rather sketchy with panhandlers, etc., and the hotel's access to and from the Riverwalk was pretty much non-existent. Overall, I enjoyed the property and might stay there again.

Excellent location, excellent and beautiful room until we took a shower the next morning. COLD water! At 7 am, 8 am and 9am! Being a fairly new hotel one would think they would have a large hot water tank! Very disappointed. Also breakfast was cold! Eggs, sausage, and potatoes. Only thing that was hot was my bagel once it came out of the toaster. Also would recommend having English muffins to make your breakfast sandwich.

The hotel was located within walking distance of the downtown area which was nice since it is all paid parking downtown. The room and bath were very small but comfortable and quiet. The views were fabulous from our 3rd floor room. The breakfast was fair the first day but the 2nd day the hot items were stone cold. The wifi was hit or miss with it going out of my tablet several times.

We wanted a pet-friendly weekend getaway and we found it. Every room has a view of the Cape Fear River and access to the beautiful River Walk. There's even a deck over the river where you can sit and watch the sun set. Staff were all pleasant and helpful and used to having canine guests. The hotel is just 3 blocks from downtown Wilmington with its shops and restaurants.

I have really enjoyed my stay at the Best Western the rooms were clean the staff was pleasant the breakfast area was clean and well-stocked it was a much less expensive room then the room next door and it was a short walk away from the convention center. I'll be sure and stay here again when I'm in the area

Perfect location and a beautiful view make this BW a great choice. While the rooms have a bit of age they are nicely decorated. Front desk staff was very efficient and friendly. The value (my three nights $480) with a view of the river was the same as the conference hotel which was right next door without the view and still at the conference rate.

Don't miss staying at this place. The location is great and so are the staff. Very Dog Friendly. The River Walk is right outside the hotel, within easy walking to downtown which is bustling and energetic.

I travel frequently for work and typically stay at Hilton and Marriott properties. When researching hotels for Wilmington, I ran across this one. Even though it was older it was beautifully maintained with just enough upgrades to keep it modern yet with a quaint old time feel. I liked the fact that it wasn't cookie cutter like all the big brand hotels. The view of the river was spectacular! I will definitely stay there again!

Clean, safe, comfortable room. The location could not be better: the convention center and railroad museum are out the front door, the battleship is out the back window. Walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and bars in the historic downtown. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. For central location, it's on the river so it's surprisingly quiet.

Great location makes walking to everything easy. Nice view of the river with a great breakfast available. The staff was all super nice! Loved the two adopted cats that hung out in front! I will return.

From making the appointment to checking out before 6 am, we NEVER encountered anyone who was less than polite and happy to help. Front desk, housekeeping, maintenance employees were over top top gracious, helpful and friendly. Impeccably kept property. Safe and secure. The River Walk boardwalk goes thru the property, so location is perfect for downtown strolling. The view from the room was magnificent (though we didn't spend much time in the room!). I just wish the room was a teeny bit larger and the bathroom more spacious. Too bad the remodeled bathrooms just weren't large enough for the doorless shower. We kept a wet floor...but housekeeping kept us stocked with super soft, top quality towels. A great stay for us.

Roz was amazing from the time I called to ask about check in! Every employee I encountered was friendly! We had a king suite (Room 408) and it was perfect to see the Battleship and the sunset!! There were windows on two sides so you can see part of the Riverwalk, just very calming and peaceful! Breakfast was great. One day they had fried eggs and another day, egg and cheese omelets! Many other food choices, I don't know where they get the muffins from but they are great!!! The only thing that was a downside (which was quickly resolved by Roz) was my key wasn't working. We went to the front desk and she made me a new one. She asked if I had the key close to my cell phone because that can effect it. I had no idea! Oh also there was NO carpet in my room!!! I love that! I hate that sticky feeling hotel carpet but this room had none! It was great!!!!

This is the forth time we've stayed at this hotel. Every room has a water view, Could sit and stare out the window for hours! It's right on the river walk... one of my favorite US hotels! Wasn't quite warm enough to eat breakfast outside..

If you live in the Northeast and have never been to the southern coast of North Carolina, this inn located in the heart of old town Wilmington is an ideal location for exploration. Shopping and restaurants are in walking distance. All rooms have a view of the Cape Fear River, across which in sight is the historic battleship, the U.S. North Carolina. For the price, the accommodations are more than reasonable and the services appropriate for visitors.

Everybody there was very polite and nice I really enjoyed my stay there rooms with clean housekeeping was wonderful they make sure everything is clean inside your room and if you need anything else you can call the front desk and you will get it for you

Loads of parking, friendly welcome, big room, clean and I had a view over the river. Right on the riverfront walk which is a lovely walk and even at night seemed pretty safe and very quiet. Basic breakfast, self service, small, dark room, with coffee, toast, cereal. Good location both for driving onto the highway/petrol station and for walking into town and by the river.

The staff were nice, the location and view from the room were good, but overall value for money just wasn't there. We had our dog with us, so we were assigned a “pet friendly” room. Perhaps that is a euphemism for not quite as updated and clean as the other rooms, but there is a $30 pet fee just the same. There was a gate outside our door, down some steps, that led to the river walk. The lighting was so bad at night, that I fell down trying to take our dog out. I really wanted this to be a great place, but it just wasn't.

Lovely location on the Riverwalk, comfortable room, convenient, sufficient breakfast including fitness room. Staff is so accommodating and friendly. We have stayed at this Best Western last year and will definitely return again. This stay is a great value for its location.

On the river walk, which was very nice for a stroll or a jog. Good for pets, no carpets and nice area outside for them. Lovely view of the river from all rooms. Only downside were paper thin walls. Front desk very helpful with all requests.

Although the rooms are not large, they have everything you need and the bed is comfortable. What a great location - right on the Riverwalk in downtown Wilmington - we walked it each night and saw gorgeous sunsets. The price is competitive as well.

My group of friends & I decided to spend a long weekend on a girls weekend shopping trip in Wilmington..and since we wanted to stay on the river, we chose this Best Western and we were all so glad we did! From the time we walked in, the customer service was phenomenal! The front desk clerks were sooo helpful & answered all our many questions with a smile, and when we checked in, the desk clerk was A? (I can't remember all her name for the life of me) but she is a rare gem & this hotel could not have a better representative...she was fantastic! The rooms were small but very clean, bathrooms were immaculate and kept that way during our stay, and mattresses were firm & newer feeling...we also had a fantastic view of the river & the USS North Carolina....the continental breakfast room was also small but had everything needed for a great meal & again, the customer service given to us by Juanita & the other staff was wonderful....I hardly EVER give a 5-Star review but this hotel knows what customer service really means which is a rarity these days. Everyone in our group was impressed & we certainly intend to return again.

My wife and I spent a quiet New Years eve here and enjoyed the peaceful view of the cape fear river. So close to everything downtown we walked along the riverfront boardwalk and ate at one of the wonderful waterfront restaurants. The rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. It would've been nice to have a microwave in the room but otherwise an enjoyable experience.

Have been coming to Wilmington for many years to celebrate wedding anniversary. Have stayed at this location all of those years, and service has been excellent. Friendly, customer-oriented staff. Room views are amazing. As the title says, wouldn't stay anywhere else.

View of the Cape Fear River with the sun peeking out and shining on the water from early evening through sunset after a rainy day was just gorgeous! Booked room for a business Christmas Party at Coastline Convention Center which was adjacent, a convenient 30 second walk. Will choose this place again!

The rooms are beautiful and so is the view. My room was facing the water and I could see the bridge in the distance and the battleship to the far left which is a huge tourist attraction in the area. The staff were very kind and polite. The beds were comfortable and I slept exceptionally well. There was a Marine Corp Ball going on that night so there was a lot of activity but everything was still very quiet and enjoyable. Located right next door to Embassy Suites which has a beautiful restaurant called "Steam" and my colleague and I went there for dinner overlooking the water. It was just such a pleasant experience. I am definitely staying at this hotel again as I frequently go to Wilmington on business.

Right on the Riverfront & walking distance to everything Historic Downtown has to offer. Roz at the front desk is amazing, she always remembers us and loves giving lots of attention to our doggies. Love that each room comes with a good sized mini fridge and a river view. The walls are a bit thin and the breakfast could offer more choices but overall this is a great hotel. We will continue to stay here whenever we are in the area. We appreciate the hospitality.

I've stayed in this hotel several times and each time, the hotel has been great from the staff to the room. Plus, you can't beat the view from the rooms. The hotel is very convenient to the convention center and within a few blocks from great restaurants.

We stayed here for four nights, as we were in town for a wedding, which was right next door at the Coastline Convention Center. The best part of this hotel was the convenience to the convention center! We had a room with a king bed. I was surprised at how small the room was. The bathroom was very small as well. Internet was horrible. You could get connected in the bathroom, but as soon as you walked out it was gone. Breakfast was your average hotel food, but had a good variety. The breakfast area was small and congested. I would probably stay here for a night, but for an extended length of stay, I'd look for somewhere with a little more space.

We are normally Marriott people but we changed things up on our last visit to Leland/Willmington NC. WE were totally surprised at how nice this place was. The place was super clean, they had a nice breakfast area and a BAR. How many times have you seen a chain motel/hotel with a place to get a cold brew? Our room was clean, the elevator was fast and it was quiet. The check-in was fast and the clerk was friendly and polite. The morning breakfast buffet was really good. I normally don't enjoy most hotel buffet breakfasts as they just have no taste, bacon undercooked and a million folks trying to make waffles. Here the eggs were really good, the bacon was crips, coffee was strong and tasted terrific. The lady who managed the breakfast buffet was on the ball and worked hard to keep the area stocked. They even had to waffle machines for those who liked the one BIG one or those who liked the maker that did 4 small waffles. Overall I would say they had the best breakfast buffet I had in many months of travel. A big plus is the close proximity to a Walmart, gas station, set down food places and a drug store. The only thing I found that was perplexing was the inability of the staff to answer their phones during the day and early hours of the night. I wanted a wake up call and i rang the front desk...never answered the phone. I happened to go down for a coffee right after we called and there was nobody at the desk for more than 5 minutes. Earlier in the day before we checked in I tried to call and never got through to anyone. If I had one thing to fix would be their phone answering skills. But overall I would give this a great rating.

Checked in for a one night stay and the front desk woman couldn't have been nicer. My room was on the first floor and no problems with exterior noise. They went to the trouble to update the decor and floors but didn't bother repairing or painting the ceiling. Cool shower with no door and great rain shower head. Breakfast was complete and well kept up by a friendly woman. It wasn't busy while I was there but I could see how the small room could be crowded. Cleaning staff was friendly as well. No balcony or patio which would have been a great bonus.

"Ant" at the front desk was so welcoming and took time to find us an available room. She was very friendly yet professional and exactly the type of employee I would want as the face of customer care in my company. This was one of four hotels we stayed at during our trip up the coast and not only was it the least expensive, it was also our favorite.

Very friendly staff, great location with walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Breakfast was very good as well. We could see USS N.C. from room and view of intracoastal. Would definitely stay again.

This place is WONDERFUL and I highly recommend it to everyone!! First of all I just want to say I love the staff here. Every single person is SO friendly and helpful here. I want to give a shout out to the front desk African-American lady working the evening shift who was SO kind to my sister and I. Made me smile as soon as I walked in the doors. She also told us about the two cute cats that walk around outside the hotel. I wanted to tell her manager about how wonderful she is, but I don't know her name. The actual hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms are really nice and clean. I loved the shower. The location is SO perfect—right on the beautiful river walk and close to everything downtown. I can't say a bad thing; I truly enjoyed my time at this hotel. Thank you thank you thank you!!

THis hotel is in a great location on the river on the newer part of Wilmington, about 10 minutes walk to the Cotton Exchange. and Market st. I would give it a '5' because its so nice but I did not because the rooms are a touch small and there is no balcony- as all its rooms overlook the river (and none have balconies). Other than those minor gripes its really a nice place and the b-fast is good and the staff is super nice. THe bathrooms are very modern with rainhead showers and good pressure. My room had low toilet pressure but it did not back up or anything.

We stayed in a king suite on the 4th floor and were pleasantly surprised. The room had a beautiful view of the Cape Fear River and the River Walk. The living room was at the front of the suite, affording privacy and quiet. The decor could stand to be upgraded but the suite was very clean. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The internet is painfully slow with really bad signal strength, but that was a minor issue. There are quite a few restaurants, coffee houses and pubs within an easy walk. Overall, a really pleasant stay.

This was a last minute booking and a busy rainy weekend. The staff was exceptional, making sure we had everything we needed and even going out of their way and with a smile on their face that you can tell was genuine. Breakfast was wonderful, many items to choose from both hot and cold. Everything was fresh. The location was amazing, right on the Riverwalk yet it was located at the end so it was also quite. It was a pet-friendly hotel but even with the rainy weather, it did not smell like one. The water pressure was great and the bathrooms very clean. The beds comfortable and the room very spacious. Only downside was I had trouble getting onto the internet but it was a busy weekend and very stormy. Also, the Railroad Museum is located in front of the hotel, which is nice and the history of the property is pretty interesting. There is a photo in the lobby of the property many years ago. I would make sure to take a minute to look at it.

Best Western is a nice little hotel to stay in Wilmington. The rooms are all on the riverfront and offers a great view. Parking is free and that is hard to come by! The hotel needs to be updated as it really is a great places to stay. The owners have a great place, they just need to update it and make it shine again! The staff is extra friendly and often know me by name. I stay every year for a conference.

This place was so nice. The staff was amazing. I really enjoyed the view from our room. You are right on the river and can walk every where. I will stay there again. The breakfast was amazing had a good variety.

My bride and I just wanted a laid back and inexpensive honeymoon in Wilmington. We didn't have the budget for anything too fancy, so we felt that the Best Western offered us the best amenities for a River View room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. If this place had a pool it would be perfect, but it was really all we needed for our short (on a budget) honeymoon. Loved the river view and the deck overlooking the Cape Fear River. Very relaxing and (to us at least) romantic. 4 thumbs up!

Our room was pet-friendly so we did not expect 5-star cleanliness. However, we got about 2-star cleanliness. Room looked nice but sheets did not feel or smell clean. The room seemed to have been dusted over after prior pet left but not deep cleaned. Further, there is a 60.00 charge for the pet so I expect that money to be used to actually clean the room for the next guest. A bigger issue is that smokers are welcomed in the gathering areas near the elevators where there are rocking chairs. This creates a disgusting situation when a non-smoker wants to walk to the room. One has to pass through the cloud of noxious smoke. Poor folks with allergies or breathing problems. Poor children also having to walk through the smoke. Further, the smoke WILL find its was into your room if you are roomed anywhere near these smoking areas. There is a dock on the far back side of the hotel where smokers should be designated. I do not understand why any manager would ever allow smokers inside the actual structure of the building, even if it's technically an outdoor spot. If these things were fixed, I would definitely stay here again. But as it is, I suggest avoiding, even if you need a place for your pet to stay too. If you're a smoker, yo'll love this place. They seem to really welcome smokers.

We were visiting Wilmington for a college tour and decided to stay over. BW was right on the river walk. Great location walking distance to the resturaunts and downtown. The hotel was clean and our receptionist was cheerful. Rooms are a little small but clean and comfortable beds. There is also no pool or whirlpool. I should have read closer but kind of expected it. Breakfast is a bit odd as its in a locked room next to the elevator in this small room. Don't be late because at 1001 you will simply be told "I'm closed" No good morning nothing. To say she was rude is understated. I will not judge the whole hotel over a single interaction. Would have given it a higher ranking except for the odd breakfast setup. No pool. Nice views but not sure if I will stay again

Spacious suite overlooking Cape Fear with many restaurants & shoppes within walking distance. Hotel offered free breakfast with plentiful choices. Staff was very courteous & grounds were well maintained. This is my second time staying here & will definitely return.

We booked a suite here for our anniversary. We enjoy downtown Wilmington but had always commuted here when on visits to the beach. This time we decided to do the river view instead of beach front. We weren't disappointed. Room 400 was perfect for us. It was clean, comfortable, convenient and quiet. If you're looking for swanky, go somewhere else. Breakfast was about what I expected for a free breakfast. There were plenty of options. Yes, the excercise room is small but if that's a deal breaker, you probably don't belong in this hotel. All staff was friendly. Good things come in small packages. This is the place.

Stayed here first weekend in June. Great room with wonderful river view. All the staff at front desk very helpful in our quest to find a restaurant for the evening. Wanted early check in which they accommodated. Free breakfast was great. Beds very comfortable, all very clean. Highly recommend

This hotel is fantastic, from front desk (very nice and helpful the young man and the young lady at reception) to location. Our room had a river wiew....fantastic. What a pity for the terrible stormy weather that made out if work wi-fi and elevator. We went out for a walk and we came back soaked. Good breakfast with egg, bacon, sausages, yogurt, bread, cereals... Room a little bit small but has everything, large tv, fridge, microwave and a large shower (even if the bathroom is little, but nice). Large parking lot in front of hotel.

Very disappointed with this "hotel". Staff was friendly and efficient, but the facility left a lot to be desired. In town for wedding at the Coastline convention center, so it was basically on same property, so super convenient. But NO POOL, NO GYM, NO RESTAURANT, No market for snacks/drinks. You could walk up and down the Riverwalk which was a wonderful view, but there were no chairs to sit and enjoy the view. They have a nice private deck above the Riverwalk with gorgeous view, but again, no chairs or benches, just splintery wood boards to lean against (there were 2 rocking chairs on the 2nd floor but not out on the deck). There were only 2 of us in our room so we managed in the tight space, but we talked to a couple with two small children and they said it was a disaster because there was no room for a playpen or even their stroller (they kept the stroller in their car and brought it up just when using it). The hotel re-purposed one of the rooms so they could serve "breakfast". But that was a struggle being such a small space for everyone in the hotel to get food at and the food was cold, so on the next days we paid to go out to eat elsewhere. All in all, so sorry to say that a hotel with such a great location is so disappointing. I recommend the Embassy Suites immediately next door... that is a real hotel with everything you will need and still great location. Also, nice that they accept dogs I guess, but there were several that were left in the rooms all day just barking for hours and hours. And some of the dogs I saw were very large dogs. I always prefer to say as much positive as I can, but there really was not much good to say about this hotel.

It's on the very very end of the riverwalk but you can't beat the price for being right on the river. The staff were so very friendly. We brought our little dog and they were super welcoming to him too. You can walk right down the riverwalk (or we brought bikes) to nice restaurants and a sat farmers market. The bar area can get a little wild late Fri / Sat nights but in that case it's nice to be on the very end of the riverwalk so you are not in the middle of that. We were quite happy with our stay. Much nicer than a standard beat western. Decor was nice too.

The hotel was definitely clean, along with the rooms and everyone who works here is absolutely lovely; however, it's definitely not my favorite. The lobby reminds me of a motel six lobby as it's just a tiny room with a front desk. The 'gym' is a 10'x8' room with minimal equipment and very dim lights. Only one person can fit at a time. My overall experience was okay at best. Pros: View: The view from my room overlooked Cape Fear River and the Battleship North Carolina. It was very pretty as well watched the sunset each night. Dock: The hotel has a long pier that jets off into the water. We watched a man propose to his girlfriend on the dock next to ours. Cute! Employees: Everyone who works here is pleasant and engaging. I had no negative interactions with anyone here. Ms. Juanita at breakfast was on top of her game! Loved to see her each morning. Cons: Smokers during breakfast: Really???? Can't the smokers have SOME consideration for those who are trying to eat outside? It was absolutely disgusting as I had this couple chain smoking and hacking away while I was trying to drink my coffee. Best Western really needs to forbid smoking during breakfast (or smokers really need to have a little consideration),

The hotel is an excellent location right on the River Walk. We walked to dinner every night. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the fabulous view of the river. The hotel is obviously older but well-maintained. For example, the carpeting in our room was older but clean. Everyone at the front desk was nice and helpful. The only reason to rate service lower is the inadequate breakfast room. Our only complaint is the claustrophobic breakfast room. The hotel has about 50 rooms and the windowless breakfast room had 3-4 tables that sit 4 each and then about 8 stools at a bar area along the wall. If all of the seating was occupied then you probably would struggle to get to the counter top with food. The hotel is hoping that a lot of guests do not come to breakfast. There were 3 additional tables outside of the breakfast room but on a walkway that has a roof but is open on the sides. One of these 3 tables was between the elevator and the stairs so had a lot of people are walking and standing near the table. Our last morning there was torrential rain that was coming into the walkway so sitting outside was not an option. Because of the rain, there were 12-15 people trying to eat breakfast in the breakfast room at the same time and it was uncomfortably crowded as everyone had to keep moving so others could access items such as the hot food, the toaster, or the waffle maker. It seems the hotel has limited space but I think they could do something if they really wanted to. For example, I think one of the hotel rooms might be bigger than the breakfast room so take 1 room out of circulation and use it provide additional breakfast space. The food itself was adequate but not exciting. If there had been a breakfast restaurant, such as a diner, within 1-2 blocks of the hotel, we probably would have gone out to breakfast our 2nd & 3rd mornings at the hotel.

We decided to spend our anniversary in Wilmington recently, and due to an offer from Hotels.com, we stayed here at the Best Western. We were very happy with the hotel, as every room faces the water, and we had a great view of the USS North Carolina from our room. Our bed was comfortable, the bathroom was sparkling clean, the breakfast was good, the wireless was plenty fast and reliable, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the hotel has nice rocking chairs on the breezeway in which you can sit and enjoy your coffee. The very best aspect of this hotel is its location. You are just a couple of blocks from the Cotton Exchange, it's an easy walk to all of the bars and restaurants along Front Street, and you can easily stroll along the Riverwalk for an upscale dinner or to watch the boats go by. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a lovely stay!

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Plus Coastline Inn for two nights. The location is on the waterfront of the Cape Fear River - right next door to the Visitor Center and across the street from the Cotton Exchange. All rooms have a riverview which is awesome. The hotel is a relatively new property and was very clean. The bed slept great after two full days of touring Old Wilmington. Room was spacious, well decorated and the housekeeping staff was excellent. The desk attendees were helpful and extremely cordial. The location was great - right on the River Walk. Breakfast was included and although I didn't eat breakfast there myself, my husband did and enjoyed it but most especially enjoyed the conversation with

I stayed here in the middle of the snowy weather in january. Nice warm and cosy room, nice view, decent location on the river. Good breakfast and parking. I cant say much about the surrounding area as much was shut due to the weather. All good.

Not the cleanest rooms ever, but the location is wonderful. Had a problem with the plumbing, and it took about an hour, but did get moved to a room with a working bathroom. Rooms are clean-ish, but neat freaks would not be happy.

New building adjacent to the visitor's center, convention center and small railroad museum. Located right on the walk along the shoreline. Easy walk down to Wilmington's historic district. In-house breakfast is OK. Staff was very nice. On-site parking is great. We had dinner at Savorez which is just outside the historic district; mostly patronized by locals from an older neighborhood. Easy to get to and super tasty.

I went with the reviews and booked this hotel a couple of weeks ago for an event in Wilmington and I couldn't have been happier. We were greeted by a wonderful lady (whose name I believe was Rhoda or i could be totally off) when we arrived who I had talked to on the phone and from that moment forward we had a great time, she was great at helping us get checked in. We were walking distance from the venue our event was being held at so that was perfect and we were also very close to most places we wanted to go to down town. Some folks may have walked to a couple of the restaurants and bars we wanted to hit but we chose to take a very short drive and use public parking. Our room was very clean as I have come to expect with BW and all the staff were very friendly. I guess the only bad thing to mention is the breakfast was not fabulous. It was what looked like microwaved floppy bacon and some sort of pre made eggs BUT they had bagels, yogurt, waffles and other things so I cant fully complain. I just happen to love breakfast so i was a tad disappointed but you can always pay 70 bucks more and stay somewhere else and have a higher quality breakfast. I thought our view was beautiful and the grounds were very nice. If you are looking to stay at some ritzy over hyped hotel then this may not be your place but we loved it and have already looked at planning our next stay.

We stayed here for a wedding and the staff at the hotel were amazing. Super friendly people who truly cared about the guests. Would recommend this property just because of the staff. From the time we checked in to the day we checked out, anything we needed was taken care of.

Looked for a half way point for us to meet son. Wilmington was a great place to meet. Time of the year we were here, we were not sure other than beach if there was much to do. YES - USS NC was a great tour if you have never been on a Naval ship. Downtown Wilmington and the River walk are a great way to spend your time. Now a place to stay near everything. This is it and now on our top 5 favorite hotels we have stayed at. Rooms: CLEAN, roomy, and the rain shower in bath was very nice. Staff : Every single person we came into contact with were great and so helpful from the time we booked to the time we left. Location: We liked the area because it was at one end of RiverWalk, so we would walk down by the river and back to hotel going through the shops and Main. We were not into the night life on Main but it did look like everyone was enjoying themselves. Drive to any of the beaches was easy and not far. Price: Compared to others I looked at , they had the BEST price for us at this time. Oh and VERY PET Friendly! Wish we had longer than just a weekend.

The Coastline Inn met all the basics - clean; comfortable beds and linens; and quiet (despite a wedding party staying there, but this is always luck of the draw). The property is on the site of an old rail yard with a rustic railroad theme including restored train cars that you can tour when the museum is open. We had a view of the Cape Fear River and the boardwalk (most, if not all, the rooms face the river). Coastline was a good choice for my dog and we took a long walk in the late evening (yes, it is safe) and the in the morning on the boardwalk and the central downtown area. Professional, friendly staff. I don't eat breakfast but it looked good and there are a few cafes close by for your espresso fix. BTW, the parking is free which off-set the very reasonable $20 pet fee. I was impressed by how prosperous and vibrant the downtown is. Wilmington looks like it is doing an excellent job of modernizing the city while keeping significant architecture and it's historical vibe. I imagine that at the height of the season it is pretty congested but I timed it just right and the "tourist load" was light.

Every employee at this hotel was so pleasant! The lady at the front desk, (Rozz I think?) Was so accommodating and helpful on the phone prior to our stay and recognized my name and chatted with me upon my arrival! The housekeeper remembered our daughters each day and said hi to them as we would pass her in the hallway, and the lady who supervised the breakfast room was so nice!! The room was clean, nice, and comfortable!

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel immensely. Staff was amazing- friendly and attentive and saw to our every news. Room was lovely and well appointed and we had a beautiful view of the Cape Fear River and the USS North Carolina.

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus Coastline Inn. We traveled with a small dog. The room was small but had a great view of the Cape Fear River and Riverwalk promenade. Our room did not have the advertised 2 queen beds but rather only 2 small full size beds. I'm not sure if this was because our pet friendly room (#109) was small or if all hotel rooms only have only full size beds instead of queen size beds. The bathroom was modern and clean but small with only a single sink. The pet friendly room was very clean and fresh (It did not have the musty odor that we experienced at a different hotel.). The breakfast was good and varied (scrambled and hard boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, bagels, toast, muffins, fruit, yogurts, oatmeal, etc. It was served in a small room on the 3rd floor which only had 3 tables and bar stool seats along the wall. There were additional tables wet in the walkway outside but it was too cold to eat outside during our visit. I'm sure outside dining is very enjoyable in warmer weather. The check in persons were very friendly and helpful. There is a dock and pier right out back of the hotel with nice views. There is plenty of nice dog walking opportunity along the Riverwalk boardwalk. Other than the small room/beds, everything was outstanding. Great location and good value.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay here. We arrived early, but no problem checking in early to a (although a bit small) room with a wonderful view of the Cape Fear River. Great location, convenient to River Walk and walking distance to Historic Wilmington.

Needed a room last minute and had no trouble finding one at your location. The location was very convenient to my job location and your hotel could accommodate the others members of the work crew I was with.

This hotel was wonderful! The staff and accommodations were top notch! The breakfast was hot, plentiful and delicious. The view out our window was of a beautiful river way and the USS North Carolina! There is a wonderful walkway along the river for runs or strolls!

I am writing this review a bit late, but I stayed at this hotel in early September 2017 for a few nights. As a female, this was my first solo trip, so I was a bit nervous about staying here and walking to a conference that was at a nearby hotel, but I didn't have any issues. The staff was great! I called them ahead of time because the conference was supposed to start before check-in time and I did not want to pay for parking at the hotel where the conference was at. They provided me with a parking pass upon arrival and gave me walking directions from their hotel to the other. I only used my car once during this stay because I was able to walk to nearby shops, restaurants, to the conference and back down the Riverwalk. There was a tall dock out back (which felt a little unstable to me), but provided a nice view of the river at sunset. You can also see the Battleship from the Riverwalk, so I was able to get a picture and send it to my child at home. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was due to the sounds from the neighboring room (paper-thin walls) and internet issues that I experienced during my stay- most likely from all of the construction outside my window. I would definitely stay again and would bring my dog next time, now that I know it is pet-friendly! Thank you, Best Western!

Had to take my grandson to the Wilmington airport to fly back to Florida during his Christmas break. This hotel is very convenient to the airport. Even though all the roads were covered in ice it was a short distance to drive! The hotel was very clean and pet friendly, hotel staff was very professional and an awesome positive attitude

Average hotel with extreme price fluctuations. Great location on the river. Walking distance to nice places. Parking is not great, especially when they have convention center activity. The rewards card is kind of useless.

We had a great experience traveling with our 2 Golden Retrievers en route to our winter home in SC. The staff was friendly and the room was very comfortable. We walked the River Walk right out the front door in the morning and enjoyed the waterfront of the city. Great experience.

I stayed in a suite Heating and AC unit is to close to the bed. When you get out of the bed the unit is right their. Have to slide between the unit and sometimes hit your knee. The room is spacious. The restroom need to be bigger.

Hotel is in a great location downtown with fantastic views of the river and right on the boardwalk area. Rooms are spacious and clean, only improvement would be if rooms were accessed y interior coridors.

Have stayed here many times in the past. Sorry to say our first return in 8 years. Many improvements on this end of the river walk. Our trip will be for four nights. We were checked in by a lovely young lady who was very attentive, helpful and informative. SO refreshing. Our reservation was in tact and took but a few minutes to obtain our keys. She explained the breakfast, where it was located and the hours. My husband took advantage of that this morning and gave it rave reviews. Of course all the rooms look out onto the Cape Fear River. I have nothing but praise for this facility. After we came back from a walk, another gal was on the front, she too was attentive and knowledgeable about our questions. No hesitation is recommending this to anyone.

I come to Wilmington quite often and love to stay downtown. The Best Western is close to downtown and all the activities and convention center. Rooms are clean and free breakfast. The hotel is on the river and offers great sunsets.

I stayed in this hotel on business and I am so glad that I did. The entire building is situated in a unique fashion and the views from my room were absolutely amazing, like something out of a travel magazine. There is a wonderful dock/deck over the water that is accessible from the hotel and enables you to get out and sit on the water and enjoy breathtaking views. The USS North Carolina was visible from my 3rd floor room, which was a nice perk. The room was super-clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The bathroom was spotless, always a big plus. The only improvement that might need to be made is the breakfast area, it is very small.

Great location and friendly staff. The rooms were clean beds ok. The breakfast was awesome! The worst down side to this location is the staff smoking at the entrance of the lobby. If you like smoke filled clothes and lobby then you will enjoy this place.

Worth consideration for a stay downtown in the Port City. Great sunset and river watching. Internet a bit slow, but if that is the most important consideration, stay at home! Have to add a few more words to satisfy trip advisor.

We wanted a two night "getaway" for Thanksgiving/Hubbys birthday but didn't want to drive far on a holiday weekend. We chose Best Western because the reviews for the Hilton in the same vicinity were awful.Overall the experience was good. We had a great view of the river from our room. The only thing that can be done is to update the furnishings, decor and flooring. With Embassy Suites opening up shortly and right beside this hotel, the competition will be stiff.

Staff went out of their way to fix an issue with the rate I received. Great customer service and I will definitely be coming back here many times. Highly recommend this hotel. Great view and lots to do within walking distance.

We had a lovely view of the river and USS Carolina from our room. It was very quiet and cozy. Would love to visit again! We didn't try the continental breakfast because we were in a hurry to get to see the Veterans day parade but it smelled good. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. This is why I like Best Western so much!

This motel is in a great location, from the outside appears quaint, and has wonderful views of the river. Everything else about the place is sadly inadequate and not even a good value! The rooms have old furnishings, there's a tiny breakfast area, and the attempts at updating were poor. There are too many issues to list. Over a long weekend, there was also no parking due to the busy hall next door. Book at the Hilton a block away or the new Embassy Suites next door when it's complete.

The location of this hotel is terrific: on the river, on the River Walk, within one-two blocks of the fun historic district and although we did not use the convention center, it is right at the hotel. The room had all the amenities as well as a very pleasant and helpful staff. And the best for us was allowing our gorgeous golden retriever to be with us! The $40 pet fee was reasonable to us. And also important is THE PERFECT SHOWER!!! and availability of a nice breakfast start. There were lots of choices for my yogurt as well as hot and cold food options.

I went to the hotel for a two-day real estate class. The staff were all extremely nice and accommodating. The room they gave me, 306, has a beautiful view of the water, the pier (still working on) and the USS North Carolina. The hotel is right on river walk which has nice dining options.

The NC Art Education Association returned to Wilmington for their conference after many years. The new Conference Center was a great hit and the Best Wester Plus Coastline Inn was the most convenient, had the best staff and the best amenities. The association had reserves a block of rooms at the Hilton, but I could not get a Riverfront view room, so I booked one with Best Western (and got bonus points). It was an excellent decision and choice. The convenience, amenities and friendly helpful staff was far superior to those of the Hilton, according to several of my fellow art educators. I definately plan to return and bring my husband!

Your location and views are terrific. The location is your no. 1 asset. There was quite a bit of construction going on, so it's obvious the area is in transition. When complete, it will be a place to stay for sure. Breakfast room is wanting due to the size. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and will be back.

Hotel in desperate need of an update! The receptionist was wonderful and the location convenient, but there are much, cleaner better choices in the neighborhood. The hotel is 2 star at best. Would also like to point out that the lobby leads to an outdoor stairway or elevator to get up to the rooms. All room doors have immediate access outdoors. Doesn't feel safe or secure.

We had a great time! Hotel was within walking distance of the downtown area! The only issue we had was the lack in variety of breakfast food and also the internet would come and go constantly. Besides that this hotel was perfect for what we needed it for!

Had a view of the river. Room was small, but comfortable. Nothing fancy, but clean and in good repair. Easy walk to the convention center, many shops and restaurants. Uber ride to Wrightsville Beach ($15) to stick your toes in the sand before you leave!

Stayed here for just one night whilst on our road trip and enjoyed the stay. You can't get closer to the river even if the board walk right outside the hotel was being repaired when we were there. There is easy parking outside, just make sure you put the hotel notice in your vehicle. Rooms are on he small side but perfectly adequate and kept very clean. Beds are comfy too. Breakfast room is very small and there did not seem to be any hot water for tea on our visit - there was not anyone to ask for water either. (Note, we later found them sitting outside but by then it was too late.). The hotel is a delightful level walk along the river from the town centre and some lovely riverside restaurants. I would certainly stay there again if in town.

We stayed at the BW last weekend while we were in town for a convention. We wanted to be close to the convention center (a short 2min. walk down the block), but still be able to walk into downtown Wilmington for dinner and shopping. This hotel was perfect for just that. Not only was it easy to get to with plenty of parking, free breakfast (with eggs, sausage, bacon, make-your-own waffle station, cereal, etc.), free wifi, but the water views were beautiful! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and we had asked one of the maids to change our bed and bath towels after had forgotten to take the "DND" sign off of our door - she was more than happy to help. We were really happy with our stay and the best part was that the hotel even connects directly to the River Walk, which you can take right into downtown. Wilmington was absolutely beautiful & we can't wait to go back!

We stayed here because it was the hotel associated with the conference center for an event we were attending. I'm sure it was a nice property at one time, but it has seen better days. Our room was dark and kind of dingy, with scratches in the paint on the walls, and stains in the carpet. The strangest part of our stay was the small child yelling for its mother at like 11pm somewhere outdoors on one of the upper levels of the hotel — there is some kind of pier out to the river and it sounded like it was up there. Was it a real child, or a ghost? We left after one night because it was too depressing. Got to our new hotel and unpacked my shirt that had been hanging in the wardrobe, and realized that it smelled all musty and weird like this hotel.

Great hotel in an historic area. Next door to the Railroad Museum. Great hot breakfast (sausage, bacon and eggs) plus all the other stuff. The hotel has a beautiful view of the Cape Fear river. Some construction is taking place around the hotel but is limited to approximately 9 AM to 5 PM.

I traveled to Wilmington to attend a wedding. I was a little apprehensive about traveling alone in a big city. Your staff was so friendly upon my arrival . The girl at the front desk even remembered talking to me when I had called earlier about the different rates & did you have a military discount .

I checked in and received a free upgrade to a suite, I was very excited. I went to my room the first thing I saw as a roach in the relaxing beside the bed. The hotel staff quickly moved me to a standard hotel room, I was unpacking my suitcase to place in the drawers. The drawers were dirty, stained with lint and dust, I had to leave my undergarments in the suitcase. The floors were dirty but at this point I was tired and want sleep. The next morning I spoke with a fellow conference participant, he killed a roach crawling on him while he slept, he reported it to the hotel staff.

Fabulous view of the river and battleship from our first-floor room. Great access to riverwalk. Short walk to the Cotton Exchange, as well as local bars and restaurants. Comfortable, clean, with free hot breakfast.

Great location on one end of the Riverwalk, by the river. Construction work near the hotel made a lot of noise during the day and prevented access to the waterfront in front of the hotel. Short walk into town. Lots of parking in front of the hotel. Very, very helpful receptionist who gave us lots of ideas on where to eat and drink in Wilmington.

Overall, the rooms were moldy, the hotel was way overpriced for what you get and you were so far away from any of the local amenities. Unless there was a natural disaster and I was forced to be there, I won't be back!!!

We held my daughter's wedding in Riverview Terrace and stayed in adjoining Best Western Coastline. Staff all around was so helpful. Was sorry to see boardwalk was being replaced so we couldn't get pictures out there. Looking forward to another trip back there.

The outside of building is very appealing and the rooms are awesome. The staff were the best I have ever dealt with. We go to Wilmington a lot and this is where we love to stay. It is walking distance to all the great places. The staff also told us about the band playing that we did not know about. Parking is always great. Checking in and out is so smooth. I love this place and I recommend it to everyone who is planning a trip to Wilmington.

We were booked at the Riverfront Suites, but after reading the numerous negative reviews, decided to stay at the Best Western Plus Coastline Inn, and so happy that we did. Got a great rate with our AARP card (which you can get at the age of 40 - and is worth the $16 annual fee). After a hot 2 hour drive with no A/C we were greeted and checked in by Roz. Roz was oustanding! She provided us with cold waters and cold beers, which we needed! Check-in was a breeze and Roz was a wealth of information about the area and events going on. Our room was waterfront. Very comfortable, updated room with nice views of the river and battleship. Easy walking distance to everything. Enjoyed the waterfront Friday night concert. Great hot breakfast was included. They also have a small exercise room on the property, along with lots of free parking. Other hotels were charging $11 a night to park on top of their expensive nightly rate, not here! Check-out by Roz was also a breeze.

Good rates and centrally located business and pleasure travel. Management was pro-active in meeting my needs and ensuring that I was satisfied with my stay at their facility. Upon check in the room I had reserved was not ready and they had to switch me to a double bed room instead of the single king bed I had reserved. Since they did not have any of the type I reserved available the gave me a double bed room, but without me even asking the reduced my room rate to an acceptable level and the room I was assigned was VERY satisfactory. The WIFI connection was free and of excellent quality.

This hotel is in a good location as others have said, however our view and general experience was spoiled. By waking up to work men right outside our windows. While I appreciate that works need to be done, it would have been good to be warned about this at check in.

This small but very friendly Best Western has a prime location right at one end of the Wilmington Riverwalk. Get a room on the fourth floor and you'll have a great view of the Cape Fear River and the Battleship North Carolina. The staff was professional and helpful and the price was right. Highly recommended.

Booked two rooms here as part of our east coast US driving holiday from Washington to Savannah. The rooms were small and damp and smelt of mould. Worst night sleep of the trip, glad it was only one night. We knew this was likely to be the lowest quality hotel of our trip, but the surprise was how much worse it was compared with the other hotels given the relatively high cost. Breakfast room was pathetic. Wifi very flakey.

Our trip was wonderful and the hotel was very cool. The staff was outstanding from the front desk to the wonderful ladies who serviced our rooms. This hotel is all about customer service. In a beautiful location.

My neice and I stayed for one night at the hotel. Everyone was friendly, especially the lady in the breakfast room. We enjoyed our stay. There was a beautiful view of the Cape Fear River from our window, the TV was a little small, but it was palatable. I would recommend if you're in the area to also visit the Train Museum across from the hotel and go to the visitor information center right below it. There is a lot of information to be gleaned from a visit there.

The check in counter staff for our 5 day stay were ALL friendly, polite and helpful. The rooms were smaller than I expected, but clean and big enough for our needs. The view of the river was awesome and we will stay here again.

I felt that everyone at the hotel was trying to give every guest the best possible service and visit at this hotel. The welcoming at the front was very friendly and welcoming. Every staff person made each guest feel very special and wanted to help however the could.

We've been to L.A., NYC, Washington, Denver, Dallas, St Martin and many more. We've stayed at many 5 stars. So when my girlfriend told me we were staying at the Best Western I was a little shocked. Imagine my surprise when I enjoyed my stay here more than any other hotel we've stayed in. The rooms were clean and nice, although older they didn't feel old. The continental breakfast had fresh eggs, sausage and bacon as well as make your own waffles, bagels, toast, oatmeal and muffins. And most importantly the staff was absolutely the friendliest people I have ever met. They truly understood southern hospitality.

Every room's windows face the river, breakfast was great. We had meetings at their attached convention center building. The Railroad Museum is in the same parking lot area. It is only a couple of blocks from the historic downtown area. The front desk staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.

The hotel is right on the river,by the college and a few steps from all the shops and restaurants. Park the car and walk everywhere in town. Staff was really friendly, even while in training. We didn't have the breakfast this trip, but they did have a pretty decent selection from what we saw.

We stayed one weekday night. We were pleasantly surprised by the updated room and helpful staff. The view, fast wifi and the free breakfast were great. The hotel was within walking distance to great shopping and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Best Western Plus Coastline Inn was a great find for my business trip in Wilmington. The staff were wonderful, and I loved the view of the river even though there was a large crane outside my window working on a new boardwalk. The breakfast was also very good with many different choices. If business takes me back to Wilmington, I will definitely stay here again.

The hotel room was smaller than any others we have stayed in, but it was clean. The breakfast area was very small, yet tasty. The conference center directly beside the BW drew crowds of people which made parking in the hotel lot impossible. VERY FRUSTRATING! Lastly, our room did not have a microwave after being advertised as a standard amenity. Hotel staff was always very cordial. This hotel is only a quick walk to the downtown area. Biggest complaint over everything was the view of the HUGE barge with crane directly in front of the hotel & crews that started running a saw at 7am. It would have been nice to know that the area was under construction. All in all, we still had a nice visit in Wilmington.

I stayed here because of it's proximity to downtown Wilmington and it was perfect. Wilmington has changed over the last several years and this place is in the perfect spot, not too noisy had to walk a couple of blocks, but it is just what I wanted it and we will be back again.

Took a quick trip to Wilmington for the first time and found this Best Western. Downtown, centrally located, on the river with a great view of the river and easy access to the riverfront. Unfortunately the boardwalk right in front of the hotel was being renovated by the city but that happens. Our room was nice, comfortable and quiet. The staff was wonderful especially Miss Juanita, affectionately known to all as "Granny". Everyone was very friendly. It had one of the best BW breakfasts I've had though the room was a bit small.

This is the only hotel that I stay at when I visit Wilmington for a night out. It is located by the convention center and everything is easy to walk to. All you have to do is follow the river walk to where ever you want to go.

The Hotel is located at the beginning of the River Walk providing beautiful views of the river and perfect for photographs. It is walking distance to local shops and restaurants. The Staff is very courteous and attentive. The breakfast buffet was very good and the room was clean and comfy.

The breakfast was typical of similar hotels that include breakfast but the area was kept clean and well-stocked by a pleasant and attentive staff member.

nice hotel in down town area, plenty of places you can walk to for food. very clean area , on the river. bed not comfortable to me, no microwave and I don't thinks there was a pool. if you like to fish the pier is right there. I would stay there again.

We stayed one night at this quiet riverfront hotel. Check in and out were friendly and efficient. The hotel is a short walk to many restaurants and shopping. Parking is available on site. The simple breakfast is complimentary and is enough to get your day started. It was nice to be at this hotel and away from the noise of main downtown area.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. The river views were excellent and the room was perfect for our needs. Perhaps the best part was how friendly and helpful the entire staff were, they made us feel welcome and truly enhanced the pleasure of our stay. We look forward to returning to Wilmington and would definitely stay at this hotel again!

My husband and I were in town for a conference for him and leisure for me. The room was clean, breakfast was good (had an attendant in the room to maintain cleanliness as well as supplies. Check in and check out was simple and the staff was very friendly.

I had built up a very large number of points and hotel staff went out of the way to arrange for us to stay in the Tower Room which has to be seen to be believed. No charge! Excellent downtown location and easy in and out to the attractions! We were able to walk to many areas.

Love this location on the riverfront! All rooms are river facing. A pier extends from the second floor to out over the river. Perfect for viewing the Fourth of July fireworks!! We have stayed here for 4 or 5 yrs on the Fourth. Beats fighting the traffic after the fireworks!!! A little pricey! Stayed last week at a Best Western Plus in Georgia for almost half the price! Hope the city fixes the mess soon that they left when they pulled out the Riverwalk in that area then deserted it!! A ramp should be added for easier access to the Riverwalk instead of having to go out to the street. There is a nice ramp from the parking area to the hotel, but not down the 3 steps to the Riverwalk.We already have our reservation for next year!

Stay in quite a few BW but this one is definitely the BEST of the BEST on price,true customer service,excellent breakfast and accessiability to lovely downtown Wiillington,NC. Dealt with Ms.Roz,Antranece Alysha and Josh all of whom are exceptionally well trained,genuine/real and helpful beyond words with what you want to see, enjoy,spend,etc. A real nice touch is the rocking chairs in breeze ways where you can really relax and enjoy the river/ waterfront. The reasonable proximity to home owned restaurants is a real plus too. Bottom line We look forward to returning soon and highly recommend them and FINE Wilmington culture. They provide a good military rate and really value and respect your service. A true and rare DELIGHT. THANKS.

If your thinking of doing the fire works from here I will say it's a perfect location. However by the time the fireworks start you'll be overrun by people who aren't staying here. They just knock down the barricades and move right in. Staff seems oblivious.

We stayed at the Best Western while attending a graduation. The location is great. It's within walking distance to the convention center which is why we selected that hotel (less than a 5-min walk). And the staff was super nice. The room was a different story. Didn't look anything like the website photos. It's an older hotel so I guess I should not have been surprised. The AC unit is in the window. We had an extension cord to provide additional outlets. The carpet was dingy and there was a smell emanating from the room. We booked a suite for our stay (family of 4). Even though the door hinges were there, we had no door to separate our room from the living area. There was just too much furniture in the cramped space. Besides that, the waterview from the room was beautiful. The bathroom had closet-like doors and it was clean. Breakfast is included. Make sure you get there early if you want fresher food.

Stayed one night while on a road trip. Super friendly staff and offered a discount at check in, which was greatly appreciated. Room was very clean and very comfy bed. Bathroom was nice with a rainfall shower head. Couldn't have asked for a nicer hotel with a beautiful view of the river.

This is one of my favorite hotels when visiting Wilmington. Right on the water, easy access to all restaurants and attractions and the Riverwalk. The cleanliness of the property was excellent, and the on-site free breakfast was a plus. Enjoyed hanging out on the pier on the Cape Fear River smoking a cigar, having a beer and chatting with colleagues.

I really love this hotel! The service from the front desk, to breakfast area to room service is a notch above all others. Loved the shower stall, the view from our room was beyond wonderful, loved the rocking chairs on the second floor pier. Make sure to get a room on the top floor you can see out the window far! What a view. Don't let the exterior doors deter you because it's like a courtyard so no issues with safety and there is an elevator. Can't wait to go back! We had to adjust our stay and there was no problem and no cost for it! Thank You! Parking is free, internet is free!

Love this hotel. It is convenient to restaurants and entertainment with a view of the USS NC across the river.It is an easy drive to beaches and other area attractions. The staff, including maintenance are very friendly and helpful.

This hotel was perfect for a last minute getaway with friends. Located at one end of the Riverwalk board walk, the location and views are great for the price. We parked our car at the hotel lot and walked everywhere. The rooms are bit smaller than I was expecting, but still clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and courteous!

This hotel is tucked away in a quaint corner of Wilmington NC close to Wrightsville Beach, historic downtown and other amenities. I came for a conference held at the Coastline Conference Center and loved being able to walk to my location. This is a dog friendly hotel which was great for my coworker who loves to travel with her pet. Rooms are very decent but the view is spectacular.

we would stay there again.... our room with a view of the Cape Fear River was nery nice, staff was curteous, and helpful, location was primo, right in downtown Wilmington. The lighting in the room was not optimal for more than one person to read at night.... not that much of a problem......

Even so this is an older hotel it is still a very nice place to stay. There was only one drawback to this place and that is the windows didn't open. We would have been very happy if we could open the windows but that would not stop us from staying here again. The staff is wonderful and are extremely helpful. The breakfast bar is always well staffed, clean and plenty of food as if you were the fist one in the breakfast room. This place is a keeper.

Nice, clean ,extremely friendly staff. Excellent location right on the river and, in my opinion, a very easy walk to Market Street. Rooms were spacious, breakfast was ok, the sausage and eggs looked questionable, but I don't consider that a reason not to give this place a 10 out of 10. I would definitely stay here again!

Very nice hotel for either with pets or without. Clean and staff were wonderful. The breakfast was super. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. We travel a lot and would hope we find this kind of hotel on out future trips. We have already recommended this to some of our friends and will continue to do so.

What a wonderful place to stay!!! Our room overlooked the water and we had a clear view of the the Battleship. (How cool is that?!?!?!) Rooms were cleaned each day and new bathroom linens were left. The housekeeping staff even carefully folded our personal blanket and ensured our son's animals were neatly placed on the bed waiting to great our son after the days adventures. Sheets and bed linens were soft and not hard and scratchy like other hotels I've stayed in. Each room has a small fridge to keep things cold and a personal coffee pot for those early morning cups of coffee. Ask for a room on floor 2 if you want to be close to the ice maker but the 3rd floor to be close to breakfast in the morning. Ms. Juanita makes sure to great you with a smile each morning at breakfast and has prepared a wonderful spread. From cereal, toast, bagels, muffins and cinnamon rolls and let's not forget the make your own waffle station. Chase down all that deliciousness with some juice, milk or coffee. There fresh fruit available as well as yogurt and fruit salad cups. Served daily until 10:00am. This hotel is within walking distance of SO many things including the train museum. You can't go wrong staying here!!!

This is really a very good hotel and very clean. Some of the wood furniture in our room was a little scuffed and could use replacing and the grout on the shower stall wall had some stains. But the staff was wonderful and the view of the river was incredible from our suite! The walk to the center of downtown by the river (Water and Market streets) is a comfortable 10 minutes.The free downtown trolly stops right in front of the hotel and runs every 20 minutes making all of the historic district very accessible.

Our front-desk expert, Roz, went above and beyond to accommodate our early arrival; as, we were driving from out of town for a downtown-Wilmington wedding and were grateful to have our room ready to prepare for the event. My husband and I were in Wilmington for a short, mini vacation. this was a great location as we never moved our car in 3 days. Staff was always so friendly. Breakfast was excellent with both hot and cold items.

This was our second stay at the Best Western Coastline. The rooms are clean! Breakfast is an added bonus. But by far.....it is the staff that has us coming back. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Saying hello, holding doors open really prove that little things do mean a lot!! Love this place. Best Western Coastline is five stars++!

Great stay loved the town of Wilmington nc and wrightsville beach area. Good restaurants and shops. Best western had a great location where you could walk every where Hopefully will be able to return someday.

There is construction south of the hotel- building another hotel. There is construction in the back preventing walking around the Riverwalk. The catwalk need some replacement- boards are very weathered. The room was very crowded with furniture. The bathroom shower was nice but water goal over the floor- liked the toiletries in the bathroom. The a/c during the night seemed to cycle on and off all night - leaving a damp feeling on the sheets and the floors and carpet damp. Breakfast was ok but the flow is backwards- the plates and utensils are in the back corner but the staff is very prompt to clear and wipe down tables. Fresh fruit in bowls were at each table- very nice. The outside corridor was ok but breezy. We visit Wilmington often and wanted to check out this hotel but I'm not sure if we will be back until after all the construction is finished.

We stayed for 2 nights and the hotel was a good location for downtown. The staff were friendly and helpful. The car parking was limited but there was room for all the guests to park. The breakfast was good and the lady looking after the breakfast was also friendly and helpful. The room we had was overlooking the river and apart from the heavy rain we have on the 2nd day which killed the view the view was good.

We only had one day and night to spend in Wilmington. We booked at the Best Western Plus Coastal Inn. We had wonderful customer service and stayed in a very comfortable room with a great view of the USS North Carolina and the Cape Fear River. Right outside our hotel was the Riverwalk. We checked in and took the walk all the way to the end and then found a cute outside restaurant for a drink and snack. Then we went back to our hotel and changed clothes and could walk to our restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday. Great location. Fun trip!

Have stayed here several times with my wife and small yorkie while in town for conference. Very professional and courteous staff. Great value and great view of the Cape Fear River. Walking distance to many venues/restaurants in the area. Will be returning to this hotel whenever I am in the area.

The dog-friendly rooms -- on the 1st floor with an easily accessible exit to grass and mulch areas -- are great. The room was clean & comfortable & my husband and I and our little dog all enjoyed our stay.

The staff has changed the last few visits, every time they are significantly worse the the last. Rude at check in, rude with questions, as if the employee had a personal grudge against me. Not sure what prompted the ill attitude, but as long as I've been coming here, ill begin to venture down the street to the Hilton

I enjoyed a week at this hotel. The room was smaller than I expected but there was plenty of outdoor space to make up for it. The view from my room was beautiful. I was able to see the boats from my bed or venture out on the decks when the weather was nice. I would stay here again!

A comfortable place to stay, but the room seemed crowded to me. Had stayed at another motel on the other side of town that was much larger and half the price. Staying at this motel you are paying for location...which I knew going into it. Still, after staying here, I think I would stay at another location with a better value as far as the room goes. Don't get me wrong...the room was fine as far as a place to sleep...but cramped if you plan on spending much time in the room during the day. The view of the river was very nice and the location along the River Walk can't be beat. But that's what you're paying for...the view and location, not so much the room which was average at best. I will say, the staff was exceptional...and that's certainly worth something. And I felt they did a pretty good job with the breakfast.

We stayed@ the Best Western for a wedding over Easter weekend. Our room was extremely clean, comfortable bedding, wonderful view & the staff was very helpful & friendly. I would definitely consider staying here again!

The staff are wonderful! The hotel is clean and right on the water (Cape Fear River) with a private pier. That said, the wheelchair access really should be better. The entrance to my room (the one with a roll in shower) was at least an inch high. ADA only allows a .25" threshold without a ramp, and the door was so heavy that I ended up stuck in the doorway more than once. The elevator is good, but the pier gate is another heavy obstacle. Breakfast was good and the lady there to help is a gem, but the room is small and the buffet is not wheelchair friendly. That said, it is beautiful and the best value in downtown Wilmington. I believe all of the guest rooms have a lovely sunset view.

Very disappointed with room size. My husband's walker would not fit between bed and dresser to get to chair at the window. Thankfully he could walk to chair next to the window. Shower was excellent with rain shower head, toilet was low and not standard height for handicapped people. When we asked to change to another handicap room, we were told they were all the same size (3 of them), I don't see how a wheelchair could ever fit in the room. Housekeeping could have been better. Clean bath towels not replaced and bathroom waste basket not emptied. Also disappointed with breakfast area..........too small for walker when others were there. Wobbly stool at breakfast bar. We had to eat in our room with one of us using the table and the other eating off of our lap. Since room was small eating breakfast was not very enjoyable. Things that hotel had no control over were lack of enough handicap parking spaces, disturbance in next room which resulted in police coming and construction of riverwalk behind hotel. These were annoying but room size was the most problematic. We would not stay her again since we know other hotels have better handicapped rooms

This was our second stay at the Coastline Inn and when we got to Wilmington we looked for it. The check-in was without issue and when I had forgotten that we are VIP Best Western customers, the front desk looked it up to be sure we got credit for our stay. The hotel is an older one, with outside entrances but it is neatly arranged and in excellent condition. We had a corner room, next to a new hotel which is under construction but were not bothered by construction noise. The hotel is convenient to a number of restaurants and The Cotton Exchange, which is a local attraction. We spent two nights. Our room overlooked the Cape Fear River and we could glimpse the USS North Carolina through our window. Breakfast was very good and the staff very courteous. The bed was comfortable and the room neat and clean. It looks as though there have been recent renovations and, if so, they are well-done. Parking was adequate. The hotel is next to a Railroad Museum where we visited on our last afternoon in Wilmington. It is worth seeing for the model train exhibits alone but there are other interesting things to see as well. The hotel is convenient to major roads leading to Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach, both of which we visited while there. Traffic noise was non-existent. We enjoyed our stay very much and will return. BW does a great job.

Great stay. Overlooking the river. Could see the Battleship from our room. Breakfast was provided. Very nice room, staff was very helpful. Near lots of eating places and stores for shopping. Will stay there again.

The Best Western provided a wonderful location to hold a reunion for shipmates who served on board the USS Jallao. It is somewhat separated from the city, yet is very conveniently close enough to walk into town. The hotel itself provides rooms for gathering and conducting business. There is plenty of space to meet and talk, as well as socialize with old friends and shipmates. The room that I was provided had a view of the river, The bed was large and comfortable. The hotel staff kept the room clean and made sure we had whatever we required. Overall this hotel would be ideal for all sorts of venues, whether business meetings, family vacations, or almost anything requiring the ability to gather together.

I have stayed in this hotel many times over the years, but not in a couple of years, this has been my last. The bed and pillows were so soft it nearly ruined my 2 days there, stiff neck and sore back both days! The bathroom was not super clean..... mold, dust, other people's bodily fluids on the wall! I wore shoes the entire time. On the up side the price was right and they have a good breakfast. Spend the extra 30 bucks and stay at the hilton. There was a lot of construction noise every morning, 7:30, on the dot, they are building an embassy suites next door!

Staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms are dated and are in need of repairs. Can only give a 3 rating because of this. It was nothing big, but just several small items in the room like the front cover of the heater/aircondition unit was just hanging and could not be put back in place. Stains on fresh sheets and towels. Still, had a great time and just overlooked the small items!

Perhaps it's just one person who is heavy-handed, but all the rooms on the first floor were doused in bleach. Lucky for us the front desk guy was very understanding and patient. We found a room on floor 2 that smelled normal, but the fact that windows don't open is a huge downer. The rooms are small, but the view is nice and the location convenient. The lobby music adds ambience, but it leaks into the rooms which is rather unfortunate. They allow dogs, which is great and have a small area out front and some grass at the waterfront for DB. This hotel was ok for one night, but would not stay again.

We love this little understated hotel on the river. Clean, pretty rooms, great view. Good breakfast too. Bring your own cocktails and appetizers out onto the 2nd story river dock and watch the boats, or purchase drinks from the fridge in the lobby. Walk the full riverwalk to great dinner, drink and breakfast spots. Walk to great shopping. Get out to Airlie Gardens and Dockside for lunch. If you really want the beach...it's not so far away.

We came to the Best Western Plus Coastline Inn for our honeymoon on October 30th for 4 nights. The guy who checked us in, Josh, was absolutely phenomenal!!! He was beyond accommodating, and extremely professional. In fact, all of the staff were warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The location is at the beginning of the River Walk, so you are in walking distance to all of the hot spots in terms of restaurants and night life. We didn't even have a real need to use our car while we were there. The view from our room was gorgeous, as it overlooked the water. Our room was spacious and clean, and the bed was oh-so comfy. Their housekeeping team does a great job. Although I am not much of a breakfast person, my husband is, and enjoyed it very much. We didn't use the gym, but from what we saw it looked better than the average gym you see in mid-range hotels since it had a few more machines. Whenever we come back to Wilmington we will for SURE stay here again!! Thanks, Coastline Inn!!

We were in Wilmington for Ironman North Carolina. We booked our accomodations very very early - FEBRUARY for an October event. We planned to stay in town for three nights, but we could only get two nights - Friday and Saturday - at the other hotel. Best Western interestingly was very close, was less expensive, and had... only Thursday available. So we stayed at Best Western for the first night only. I wish we could have stayed here for the whole time. Besides being a lower rate, there was a complementary breakfast in the morning (very good), and was actually CLOSER to the convention center/finish line. Parking was complementary and easy. WiFi was included. Room was comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. When checking out, I left a bottle of Gatorade on the counter. The staff member quickly looked up my number and called me on my mobile phone before I had left the parking lot. Save! I really, really wish I could have stayed here for my whole trip. It wasn't in the cards. I would stay here again.

Things went smoothly even with pending crest of Cape Fear River impact following Hurricane Matthew. All staff encountered were professional and courteous during the entire stay. I always enjoy my stay at this Best Western and the price per night was reasonable

staff was excellent, very enjoyable stay. I forgot a shirt when I checked out and the staff called me and left a message. When I got home they had my shirt. They offered to mail it to my residence for me. I have only good things to say about my entire stay.

Good location, excellent staff, but outdated hotel. Definitely overpriced. Competitors hotel was only $24 more a night and it was way nicer. I would definitely not choose to stay at this hotel again, and after 2 bad experiences this year I will not choose Best Western ever again.

This hotel is right on the river and there is a walk outside that takes you all along the river through the downtown district. Every room faces the river and it is literally steps away from the visitors' center which you should definitely visit. They had so many helpful ideas about what to do and where to eat. The hotel rooms are not large, but very modern and look like they were recently refurbished. There is a nice complete breakfast in the morning and you can eat in the breakfast room or the small porch area outside. The front desk people were very nice and let us check in early even though they had to change our room to accommodate us. There is a big convention center in back of the hotel so the parking might get tight on a night when they have a large group, but we found that we didn't need a car since the location was so close to everything.

This hotel is well located and the staff are professional. Our only problem, which we didn't report because there is no doubt there was little they could do about it, was that the room smelt very strongly of damp. We tolerated it but other guests might not.

Staff at hotel went above and beyond during our stay the weekend of hurricane matthew. Everyone was super nice, patient and helpful which helped make an enjoyable experience out of a terrible weather weekend. The hotel is very nice and a great location, comfortable beds.

You are on site for the conference and close to great restaurants. Dock Street Oyster Bar. Wilmington and this conference is my yearly favorite. I'd like to register for next year's conference so I'll do that today.

The Best Western was a short taxi ride to the wedding venue which was 128 South. Our 2 rooms were both furnished with 2 double beds which is very cozy for 4 girls so we opted to bring air mattresses which were a very tight fit. Friendly front desk and great help getting a taxi during a rainy evening.Nice updated bathroom. Breakfast is fair I would stay here again but never with 4 girls to a room.

The hotel and staff were lovely. My room was cozy and had a great view of the river. I loved the set up of the room with outlets near me so it was easy to plug in and charge devices while I slept yet they were still near me because let's face it I don't use the room clock for an alarm. Lastly, the access to the pier from the hotel was awesome. Though a public pier the hotel had hotel guest access and I spent the evening relaxing as the sun went down. Very nice.

Best Western Plus Coastline Inn in Wilmington, NC was totally an awesome stay. The location on the river has beautiful views of the area and the Battleship. Many things in the area are in walking distance like boat rides, shopping, dancing and many places to dine. In addition there is a boardwalk for you to walk. We really enjoyed that. The staff at this hotel are very professional and helpful. You will not be disappointed! Will be staying here again in the near future.

Amazing staff, great views, and affordable. This was a great find, easy access to the downtown via the riverwalk and each room has a view of the river. Rooms were small, but nice. They have a private deck where you could have a beer and enjoy the river.

This hotel, was so nice, and the staff were wonderful. Every front desk clerk, was kind, and very accommodating. This hotel also serves a free, full breakfast, which is awesome when you are traveling with kids.

The best part of this hotel is the easy walking distance to downtown Wilmington District, The hotel staff were very friendly, breakfast was basic and the fitness room wasn't well maintained, the running machine did not work. The rooms are old, dated and need modernising, the safety deposit boxes are kept at reception and there is no outside seating area and our room overlooked the river but there's no balcony or windows that can be opened.

I have stayed in many hotels in the US including the Plaza and the Trump NYC - nothing beats the coastline Inn Wilmington NC - value for money - unique and beautiful hotel in such a perfect setting - everyone so friendly and helpful - felt like home - will be returning there for sure - hope nothing ever changes here - love so much that this hotel does not discriminate against pets - any room is available for them - a delightful visit - we extended our stay

I recently stayed at the Best Western Plus Coastline Inn. It was an enjoyable experience, but the bed was very uncomfortable. Overall, I would stay there again mainly because the staff made the trip very pleasant.

As a business traveler, I'm loyal to my favorite hotel chain, except when they are full! So I chose the Best Western for my week long stay. I really like this property. I love the free self parking. They have a complementary breakfast which offers a wide range of breakfast options and my favorite, bottomless coffee! My room had a wonderful view of the river. The rooms are well appointed; mine had a king bed AND a couch that has a pull out bed. Also, they have a fridge and many other items you've come to expect at any other hotels. I think my family of four would do well in a room such as this. The people are friendly and felt they provided great service. Is there anything I don't like? The result of the in-room coffee maker is very bad coffee. I tried it once and decided to wait till breakfast which was light years better! I think the biggest compliment I can give a hotel is to join their loyalty program and I did because if all Best Westerns are like this I want to keep coming back.

The most incredible thing about this hotel is the level of service you receive. The service at this hotel is more like what you may expect to receive at a resort rather than hotel. Everyone on the staff is courteous and polite, and I do mean everyone - every clerk, every housekeeper, every maintenance person. Not only are they extremely pleasant but they go out of their way to try to make sure you are having as comfortable a stay as possible. The rooms are well kept, exceptionally clean, and comfortable. Every single room has a water view, which is a nice bonus! I would recommend a room on a higher level to have the best views, but truthfully, any room would be enjoyable. The men and women at this hotel define excellence in customer service.

Pros: Pet friendly ($20/day charge), River views, walkable to downtown, free bfast, reasonable rates. Cons: Bugs in our room (lots of ants & flies) Strong musty smell, king suite had a tv in the bedroom but not in the sitting room (but had a spot for it), and tiny bathroom. Not our best experience with best western but overall a good deal.

Thee staff were very pleasant and went out of their way to help us. The hotel was very clean and well maintained and the service was great. Great views as all the rooms faced the river. I will definitely recommend this hotel

I was surprised with the hotel in Wilmington. It wasn't what I expected from a Best Western. The lobby was very small. The room had a musty odor and the A/C was rather noisy. The bathroom was rather small although clean. When they cleaned our room, they didn't leave any towels but upon calling the front desk, they immediately brought some. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone and will not return.

Excellent hotel and very friendly staff. We were new to the area so they offered ideas of things to see and places to eat. The hotel is very clean and offers an outstanding view of the river. We will definitely come back when we are in the area. One of the best hotels for the money.

My wife and I just recently got married and took a mini honeymoon to Wilmington. We booked the "Tower Room" at this hotel, and it gave us the best views and layout I've ever experienced in a hotel room! If you're looking for a room with the absolute best views, sunlight, and uniqueness, book the Tower Room! Multi-levels of amazing and separation! It rises above the rest of the hotel and overlooks the river from multiple sides. You also have a magnificent view of the USS North Carolina battleship, and if you're lucky the Coast Guard cutter Diligence will be docked for port. We caught it one day during our stay, and was able to watch it cast off for their next 10 day trip. The views are so amazing we never shut our window curtains and blinds...not even at night. The upper loft level offered a very comfortable king size bed facing the river. The lower level had a living room with a mini kitchen. The bathroom was enormous. Very nice walk-in shower and even a nice separate soaking tub. The place was very clean and organized. The entire staff was extremely nice, pleasant, and helpful. Haven't seen that kind of customer service in a long time. Maintenance had a handful of trouble areas. The downstairs TV didn't work (which didn't matter to us...there's a TV upstairs too). It was much hotter upstairs in the loft than it was downstairs (there was only 1 vent upstairs in the loft). Some of the furniture was pretty worn with scrapes in the wood, etc. None of that stuff would prevent us from booking this room again though! One special note...if you need internet during your stay, you'll have to go into the lobby or a common place. Internet in the Tower is horrible and doesn't work hardly at all (even though it has it's own connection). Breakfast was surprisingly good, and even had fresh fruit. The pier attached to the hotel was a nice plus. You can literally walk everywhere downtown. The hotel is on the Riverwalk, which is a very scenic and enjoyable walk along the river and entire length of downtown. We walked it several times during our stay. You can even take the water taxi across the river to the battleship, which was very convenient. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance too! Wrightsville Beach was only a 20 minute drive as well. I hope to make it back to this hotel sooner than later, and book this same room! Hopefully the small maintenance issues will be worked out by then. Check out my pics to see what the room looks like...you WON'T be disappointed! Another tip, if you don't do well with stairs, stay away from this room. The staircase from the front door to the living space is lengthy, and then another staircase from the living area to the bedroom loft.

We had a great time! We stayed because we had a class reunion next door and it was so convenient and relaxing at your hotel. thank you for your service. we live in Wilmington and rarely travel but will definitely go to a best western if we ever travel in the future.

We were truly impressed by the experience we had at the Best Western Coastline Inn in Wilmington - the facility, room, public areas, breakfast area, exercise room were all modern, clean and in top working order. The location , right on the river front was perfect - we loved looking across the river at the US N. Carolina battleship and havign a train museum right in the parkign lot. The directions were easy to follow and parking was ample - we defintley will be returning.

I had a great time . The staff were excellent they were friendly and courteous. They gave me great information on fun things to do in the area. The staff helped me save money by telling me about the affordable places to eat in downtown Wilmington. I would certainly go back they made the trip really enjoyable.

We arrived late and checked into the fully booked hotel without issue. However, we saw a couple trying to check in from Ontario Canada. They had driven to Wilmington, NC from Canada after booking a room on "booking.com." Well upon arrival the hotel never got the reservation. The manager was yelling at "booking.com" on the phone trying to get them into another hotel. Good for him. The family had been waiting for a few hours trying to get a room because the city was sold out of rooms and their child was screaming now and upset. We found our room very nice with a nice river view. The bathroom had a rain shower without a door we enjoyed. It was a big shower. However, housekeeping missed a few spots and they lost points for that. For example, water spots on the glass shower screen, a dusty toilet paper holder, and in general small things that needed better attention. The bed slept well and I had a nice view in the morning. We ate breakfast in the hotel. A very attentive attendant was working in he area taking care of things nicely. The area was small with only 4 tables but additional seating was provided against the wall around the room. I believe the breakfast room was an old hotel room. Breakfasts are becoming an expiation of guests nowadays. This room needs to be larger. The food was good and had a good variety. I recommend it. Parking was easy in a large lot in front of the hotel. After visiting the Battleship North Carolina we returned to the room. As we entered the lobby guess what? Another patron was standing in the lobby without a room. They too had used "booking.com." There is no pool but within walking distance. There are small "chick" stores. There are benches for men to wait upon. A very small railroad museum is just outside the hotel lot in walking distance. This really would be a nice romantic hotel, if it only had a pool. In any event, the view was nice and for the most part everything was clean.

Good location close to Front Street where lots going on. There is a free trolley which passes the entrance to the car park about every 20 minutes which can take you into the historic district if it is too hot to walk or you don't want parking meter charges. The hotel is clean and the staff helpful. The river views fabulous. They do a complimentary breakfast which is perfectly good it covers all the basics. The rooms on the small side we had a double and the bathroom was what estate agents might call bijou that's small to you and me.,

First time staying at this location and it was a lovely experience. Beautiful view of the river. Staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Wilmington. AND they are dog friendly!

Rooms are a little small but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We were there in 98+ degree weather and our room remained very cool and comfortable. We had a lovely view of the river from our room.

Really nice place with great views close to Riverwalk. Shared parking lot with Coastline Conference Center. Walked directly to workshop. Especially nice is the wooden ramp from the parking lot to the entrance. No need to carry stuff up steps. Night staff very welcoming and helpful. Room was very nice, clean, and oh so comfortable. The walk in shower with the rain shower was the best! The towels were thick and fluffy and plentiful. I had a king, and was surprised at the spaciousness of the bathroom. The sheets were baby blanket soft and thick. Best I've ever slept on. Elevator and stairs to room levels. TV and wi-fi worked great. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Seating area is on the small side, so timing when you eat is important. Hotel walkways go right to riverwalk to shops and restaurants. Water Street to Grace or Front Street gets you to shops and places to eat within minutes. Hotel faces Cape Fear Community College parking deck. College town atmosphere. Lots of people out and about even after 10 pm. Feels very safe to go out at night, even for a 60 something grandma traveling solo. Mostly foot traffic here. Lots of pedestrian walkways. Walked around for 90 minutes before getting dinner. Grace's is the place to go! Fresh caesar salad with grilled chicken and drinks for less than $15. Brent and his staff made me feel right at home. Will definitely come back here next time I go to the beach.

Our room was on the second floor with a beautiful view of the Cape Fear River and we had access to the hotel pier overlooking the river. Less than a mile walk to Downtown Wilmington and access to the River Walk. We enjoyed our stay and the continental breakfast prepared each morning. There were eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, muffins, waffles (make your own!), coffee, apple juice, orange juice, and milk. The breakfast times were good (6:30 am to 10:30 am). We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel and it was a great price for the three days we stayed!!

The BW Plus Coastline Inn was a nicely appointed place with super employees, nice and clean accommodations, and great breakfast. It is close to downtown and next to the Convention Center. Highly recommended.

My son and I stayed here Mother's Day weekend. Someone decided to stay an extra day so we were given the tower room. It was a serious upgrade. It had a panoramic view of the river. We were truly in the heart of Wilmington.

Nice place with good views. Pretty quiet. Staff good. Cleaning staff very helpful. Great place for pets! However, there are smokers here too in front of the lobby and in the breezeways. This is a problem if you despise like cigarette smoke, like us. But, it is manageable and not constant. Wilmington itself is full of smokers so I guess it's the culture and area. I'd stay here again(hotel) but not likely to visit Wilmington again.

This is our favorite hotel in Wilmington. The customer service of the whole staff can't be beat and the river view from the rooms is great. Right on the riverwalk you can easily walk and explore the downtown area but you aren't in the "noisy" part of town. The only thing that would make this hotel better would be an outdoor pool.

The hotel was very pleasant and nice. The view from our room was very nice. The only downside is that we had 5 people staying in a single room. The rooms are smaller. That is alright because it was an overnight stay. We had a Uhaul trailer that they had a lot of room for us to accomodate our stay. The continental breakfast is very good and worth it. This city has 2 hotels on the river walk but this one is worth trying it out.

We arrived at this hotel in the middle of a horrific summer squall, non-stop lightening and blowing rain. After about 15 minutes, when the storm did not abate, he and the front desk manager and a housekeeping person came out to help me get inside the hotel (I have trouble walking, especially on wet slick tile steps. They could not have been more accommodating - keeping us in the lobby, as our room was on the top floor, and accessible by elevator only, with the power in and out, good thing to just wait! After a good 45 minutes we felt safe enough to go up to our room which was very nice. Out the window was a beautiful view of the river below, with the Battleship North Carolina and several other large ships. After a short rest we went downstairs to ask for directions to a restaurant and Josh, the front desk manager was so helpful - he even printed a map for us that even I could follow! Next morning, same thing, he was just getting off and stopped to recommend a breakfast/lunch eatery and again gave explicit directions. It's so nice to stay at a place where the staff is so helpful and so cheerful while doing so! Good job Best Western!

Great hotel. The staff are very friendly and will do anything to make your stay better. The only thing I did not like was no microwave in my room. Only the suites have a microwave. There is a microwave available by the laundry facility but I prefer to have one in my room.

Great room, really helpful staff and a good breakfast. Fab location and view of the river. Really all the good things you want after a long day traveling. The room was well portioned on the Third floor with lifts. Breakfast was good with plenty available and a good choice.

We find the Best Western hotels in the USA are all of a certain standard and this one did not disappoint. The hotel is located next door to the Railroad Museum, a convention centre and also the visitor centre, which is very useful. There is free parking (a shared car park for all of the neighbouring properties). Reception will give you a ticket to place in your car. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. There is a small kiosk behind reception desk with various drinks and snacks. The room (on the third floor) was clean and comfortable with a lovely view of Cape Fear river and Battleship USS North Carolina on the river (now a museum). You can take River Walk from the hotel to the historic district in less than 10 minutes. The hotel has it's own pier, the upper level is for guests only. A peaceful location to watch sunset from. Breakfast is on the third floor. There's a good selection of food but the room is quite small.

We stayed for the 4th July. The room was fairly nice and clean, but we wanted to be on the 2nd or 3rd floor to see fireworks. We were told only the 13 rooms on the first floor were pet friendly. Later in the day we saw multiple dogs going up the elevator to higher floor rooms. When I asked the front desk, I was told since all the pet friendly rooms had sold out, they were allowing pets to be in the other rooms. These people should have been told the rooms were sold out. Even if these rooms are "deep cleaned" as I was told, dog hair gets everywhere and can still affect nonsuspecting people with allergies. This was very deceiving of the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel many times and we are always very satisfied. The service is always excellent and the staff is always accommodating and friendly. The hotel is convenient to downtown on the river. The boardwalk is in front of the hotel and is great for morning and evening walks. The hotel is pet friendly but I have never smelled or seen any evidence of pets being in the room.

Excellent location and super nice staff! Located on River Walk with easy access to downtown Wilmington. The view was fantastic, and our rooms was well appointed and spotless. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast.

Wife and I decided to take an overnight trip to Wilmington, NC. The Best Western Plus had a suite within our price range with a river view. The staff was very friendly and check-in was speedy and we were able to check-in before 3pm. The breakfast was excellent for continental like at most hotels. We will stay again the next time we are in Wilmington.

Having stayed at hotels all over the world, I rate the Coastline Inn, Wilmingtron, NC, as one of the best. Our rooms (2 ) were immaculate, as was the lobby and breakfast area. The bed was comfortable; hotel staff were friendly and efficient. When we asked for a recommendation for a pizza delivery, the desk clerk quickly recommended a family owned restaurant. We tried her recommendation and could not have been more satisfied! Delicious pizzas and reasonably priced--No delivery charge--just whatever one wanted to tip.

This is the 2nd review I have written on this motel. In short, we plan trips from Mississippi to North Carolina just so we can stay here. That is how much we love coming to this motel. We have stayed at the BW 5 times in the last 5 years. If you come, you will return

2nd time to Wilmington and 2nd time at the Best Western Coastline Inn. Convenient location just a few minutes from downtown on the Cape Fear River walk, the hotel is a great base of operations. Add to that a helpful staff, a pretty darn good breakfast and reasonable prices -- you have a winner.

The hotel is in a great location with beautiful views of the river, staff members are friendly and very helpful, free breakfast and free parking are definite perks! Only negative was the price (steep, we thought). We were in town for a wedding and didn't have many choices on lodging, but would probably stay here again if the price is right.

This hotel has a beautiful view of the river and literally steps from the river walk. The Marina is right next door alongside the convention center. Downtown is a short walk away. The only negative thing I have to say is not to get a room on the 3rd floor. We stayed in room 310 which is right across from the breakfast room. There is a breezeway with tables due to small space to eat. It opens at 6am, and I guarantee you that if you stay on the 3rd floor, you will be awakened by noisy guests eating right outside your door very early! Other than that, the staff could the more friendly and the room more accommodating.

A really great location well within walking distance of the Wilmington waterfront and many fantastic restaurants. The River Walk is readily available for nice evening or early morning walks. Once the River Walk is completed to the north and the Market Street bulkhead repairs are completed the waterfront area will be even more user friendly.The facility has become dated and needs remodeling, but rooms seem to be maintained very well for an aging facility. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous.

We stayed at the Best Western. This is a nice Hotel on the river walk with river views from all rooms. We loved the location on the river and you can walk to restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is about location which is right along the river walk. One can just step out of the hotel and walk along the river until you get to the historic district. There you can find all of the restaurants and bars enabling you to enjoy the nightlife Wilmington has to offer.

This hotel is very quiet and located on the Cape Fear River with distant view of the USS Wilmington. Many wonderful restaurants and sites are available within easy walking or driving distance. There is a pier that is accessible from the hotel itself. All of the staff were extremely friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The rooms are a bit small but have everything needed for a nice stay. Beds are very comfortable with awesome showers! Also, we found the complimentary breakfast to be more complete than in some hotels that we have had to pay for it. We will definitely return!

This place was great! it is not luxurious, but it was exactly what we wanted. We wanted to be able to walk to all of the downtown bars and restaurants, yet have a nice quiet hotel on the river. This hotel was exactly that. The continental breakfast was excellent and the lady that monitors the area was very kind and hard working. Actually, all of the staff was very friendly!

Gorgeous location. I loved waking up to beautiful views of the river. Within walking distance to everything in historic downtown, which my family and I definitely took advantage of. More than anything, I was especially pleased with how friendly and hospitable the entire staff was. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. I will definitely return and recommend!

Nice hotel, is situated on the river and all rooms have a river view. Hotel is very clean and beds are comfortable. The continental breakfast is better than average. On the river walk and in walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Would defiantly stay there again.

I have stayed at this hotel many times. It is well maintained with a great location. You can park and walk for pretty much any activity you wish. The staff is always very helpful. I would definitely recommend for business or pleasure.

So I came to this hotel for a work conference. When my wife and I first got to the hotel, the front desk staff was very in the ball. Which made check in easy and painless. As we were moving our luggage in through the lobby toward our room, the front desk worker had a remote to the door and they would open it for you. Our room was a little complicated to get to with a luggage cart because there were some turns that were a bit hard to negotiate, but it was nothing I could not handle. When we opened the door however we were a little shocked that the room was so small. I barely fit the luggage cart in because there was hardly any room in it. The room had a King size bed, which was a bit large for the size room we had. The bathroom was a good size for the size room we had. Would have liked to have had a regular door for that instead of the mini double door. The shower was awesome and it was great to use. The room was clean, however when housekeeping came by to clean we asked if they could come back later, but we really needed some towels. The lady said ok, and came back to clean the room later, however she forgot the towels. This hotel is located close to a lot of places to eat and there is a good view of the Cape Feat River and the Battleship North Carolina. Overall it was a decent hotel for a couple of nights stay for work.

We stayed at Best Western PLUS Coastline because my son was getting married in Wilmington. My daughter had her 3 children (two of them babies) and this hotel allowed us to checkout at 1:00PM. This was extremely helpful because we're not from the area and had no where to take the babies before the wedding. I've never stayed in a hotel that allowed such a late checkout. I will definitely stay here again.

When we came into our room, the smell of chlorine overwhelmed us to the point we got headaches. Later we found out that the cleaning staff "really likes to have everything to have a clean smell" and had obviously liberally used Tilex (which we saw in the cleaning staff cart). We were offered three other rooms, two of which were on the same 4th floor as the original room and another on the bottom floor where pets were obviously allows from the strong smell that "welcomed us." We opted for the strong chlorine smell over the pet odor.

All of their rooms are on the waterfront. They all have a nice view of the river and the top of the battleship USS North Carolina peeking over the trees from its mooring place just across the river. Suites on the south end offer an even better view. The red brick, modern building has parking right in front. The Visitors Bureau and nearby train museum share the same parking lot. The hotel is easy to access. Breakfast is served on the second floor, just off of the elevator.

My husband and I were traveling from Charleston, SC and decided to stop in Wilmington, NC for the night. We selected the Best Western Plus Coastline Inn as it was on the waterfront and had good ratings on the Internet. Our expectations were exceeded in every way. I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable, delightful stay!

The Best Western Coastline Inn was absolutely perfect for our high school reunion group from upstate New York.. We were treated to gracious, efficient hospitality from start to finish! Everyone exclaimed over the lovely, riverfront rooms and easy strolling access to downtown Wilmington. The gathering space and facilities at the conference center were great. And the staff was incredible! Thanks for the Southern Hospitality!

You really can't beat the location of the Coastline Inn. The view from our window was the beautiful river and USS North Carolina battleship. Walk to everything downtown via the boardwalk just outside the hotel.

My husband and I were in Wilmington the previous week and stayed at a Hilton-connected property, also on the river. However, the Best Western was both less expensive and much nicer than the Hilton's offering. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. What a find!

Location is the best part of staying at this hotel. The rooms are nice typical hotel rooms however they are a bit small. The service was good, the room was clean and the convenience of being able to walk everywhere with a pretty view was the best. The rooms are pricey in my opinion, just paying for location. It was a nice stay, just nothing spectacular.

I've stayed here twice in the last 2 years with my wife. Location is great. 5-10 min walk to any downtown destination and great views of the water from your room. Beds are comfortable and rooms are clean. Breakfast each morning consists of coffee, milk, oj, cereal, instant oatmeal, instant grits, scrambled eggs, bacon and you can make your own waffle. Only complaint I have is they only have 1 waffle maker and it takes 2.5 mins to make a waffle so sometimes it gets backed up. Would be nice if they had 2 waffle makers.

This was my first trip to Wilmington and won't be my last. I always do my homework on choosing my hotels. I hit the jackpot on this trip! I was concerned about the outside entry to rooms but once I got there it was laid out very well. We stayed in the tower room. Although you must navigate the stairs with your luggage, reaching the room, the views are tremendous! Almost 360* view. The bed was very comfortable, I need one at home! I recommend this room for a romantic get away. The staff is friendly and gracious. While they were all great I want to give a big shoutout to annitreace. She was so helpful when we checked out and she has a beautiful smile! We were a short walk from shops, bars and great food choices. I had a great weekend and can't wait to return.

Hotel was right on the water, walking distance to charming downtown Wilmington. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Room was well appointed and the bed was great. I was attending a conference and my wife was accompanying me. We took full advantage of the facilities and the shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are going to be in the Wilmington area. Please go see the Battleship USS North Carolina, it's well worth the effort.

The hotel's location was great. However, we must have had the smallest room in the hotel. The rug looked like it was never cleaned, and the furniture was very dusty. I am not a clean freak, but I was uncomfortable with this. I was afraid to walk in my bare feet! Ask for a large room with at least 2 beds.

We would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat. Excellent service and extremely courteous. The river view was tremendous. The river walk was just outside the hotel and a wonderful way to start your day.

This is a very nice property in a great location on the waterfront in Wilmington. The room we had was a tad tight. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. We travel with our small furry child and this hotel was very accommodating. Highly recommend.

A last minute change of plans had us scrambling to find a dog friendly hotel near Wilminton, NC. Lucky us, we found this Best Western Coastline Inn. Warm & welcoming staff, lovely, immaculate room, and a great hot breakfast in the morning. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Wilmington in the fall.

I stayed at this hotel for a business conference. A discounted rate was offered for attendees. This hotel has an excellent exterior brick structure. The lobby is pretty small. The rooms have exterior doors but the hotel is "enclosed". I didn't get a chance to sample the breakfast, but there was a variety of fruits displayed on the 3rd floor. The room I had was a king bed, with river views. The bathroom was pretty well updated as well as the furniture. Overall this hotel was a budget-friendly option with up-to-date furnishings.

We stay here every year for the Azalea Festival. It is a wonderful hotel and the staff are great. The Breakfast is always delicious and plentiful. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. I love walking along the boardwalk and decks located directly behind the hotel on the River. No Complaints at all!!

The staff are professional and helpful. The hotel is clean, safe and in a great location. While I didn't take advantage of the workout facility, the breakfast is very good - hot items, lots of fruit, and many other options.

We had another very nice stay at the Best Western Coastline Inn. The staff is so friendly and helpful and the view of the boardwalk and battleship is an added bonus. We like the fact that you are kind of tucked away and not in the midst of all the traffic but still an easy walking distance to everything Wilmington has to offer.

With the train museum next door and the river out back, this is truly a neat place to stay. Very close walk to everything you would like to do downtown / on Water Street in Wilmington. The exterior of this affordable hotel is beautiful whether you are parking in the front by car or the back by boat :)

Stay every time I'm in Wilmington Staff if so friendly and they remember my name when walking in the door. They have upgraded to suites when they can Every floor overlooks the water and you can see the battleship Easy and safe walk on Boardwalk to downtown

Stayed a couple of nights in March 2016 with my dog. The hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful. Dog potty areas were convenient and clean. Only problem was the toilet leaked one night, but it was only intermittent. Would definitely stay here again...on the river with view of USS NC and easy walk to main historic section.

Rooms was a little small but the character of the room and hotel in general was great. Room was clean and had no issues during our stay. We spent three nights over Easter and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff was very polite and helpful. Breakfast was better than most but still a hotel self serve breakfast.

Good location, very friendly / helpful staff. All interactions very pleasant. Nice facility, get a room with a river view, interesting ship traffic from time to time. Only thing I could suggest is the breakfast room is really small, no problem if you're taking things back to your room, but finding seating at a popular time can be a challenge. Wifi worked well. I'd re-book if going back to Wilmington.

Conveniently located and on the water, this hotel seemed nice for the price. Unfortunately, my stay wasn't so nice. Upon checkin, I was given a third floor room overlooking the water until I mentioned that I am accompanied by a service animal. After finding out that I had a disability and was going to be accompanied by my service animal, we were immediately reassigned a first floor corner room across from the service closet. We were aggressively awakened before sunrise each morning by the slamming and squeaking wheels coming in and out of the door about three feet from ours. There was also beeping from the golf cart that is parked outside our door. Needless to say, neither my dog nor my girlfriend got much sleep during our stay. I felt discriminated against and won't be returning.
