Best Western Historic Area Inn

The hotel was average. It needs some maintenance and renovations. It is conveniently located if you're visiting Williamsburg, the College of William and Mary, or Busch Gardens. We did not have breakfast in there, so cannot comment on the complimentary breakfast.

Kind of gross! The lobby has been updated so you might think this is a nice hotel, but one you get into your room, you will realize that it's a lousy hotel. I wouldn't stay here again. They make you pay an extra $100 deposit, even with a credit card. We paid $130 after taxes...this should be a $70 room. My granddaughter, who is 3, found something "sticky" on the bed skirt. Not something an adult would notice, but a child will find it, of course. Gross! The bed springs will squeak and stab at you all night. And the light fixtures are rusting out. Gross! The pool area needs major renovations. The jacuzzi surface is peeling and has bald spots. The whole hotel smells like chlorine. The pool towels are thin and balding. Breakfast was abysmal. My grandkids ate a yogurt and then I realized they were expired by two weeks! They had apples and bananas, cereal, oatmeal packets, cheap little pastries, and hot scrambled eggs and paper thin steamed bacon. No thanks. We went to Starbucks down the road. Overall, $130 (AARP rate) was overpriced. Location was all right. Lobby was pretty. Staff were friendly. But the amenities are lacking and the room is questionable. The owner needs to attend to the old beds and the rusty light fixtures.

Hotel is clean with great amenities....friendly staff and great location....breakfast was very good with many choices to choose from....the internet was very good and easy to access....I highly recommend this Best Western hotel.

We try to stay at BW whenever possible and, except for a very few occasions, have never been disappointed, this one was no different, excellent as usual. BW is our go-to when we travel. We have tried other chains but have not found one that continually provides the service that BW provides, price, cleanliness, comfort, staff, and breakfast. Keep up the good work BW.

The booking experience was bad. Took three calls to get a confirmation email. Stay were very disengaged. Rooms were damaged, unclean and one shower was clogged. Beds hard with small throw pillows instead of normal pillows.

First of all, I want to say my husband and I were on our 5 year anniversary and had our expectations set very high. We were excited to get away. This hotel was very dirty, the sheets and pillowcases stained, the floors dirty, trash in the floor, hair in the fridge, mold in the shower, the drain to the tub was broken so we had to call down to the desk to get it fixed. The wallpaper in the bathroom was bubbled up from the moisture in the bathroom (lack of a fan). The breakfast was really the only somewhat positive thing about our visit. Good selection of food. There really wasn't enough space for everyone eating, so we got up and left early from breakfast. This hotel was not worth the 200 plus dollars we spent for two nights... we've stayed in much nicer places for the same price.

Close enough to the historical area on one side and the shopping on the other to be very convenient without being over priced. The property is on a main road but back a few hundred yards so it's easy to get around town but the property is quick with no congestion. Staff is friendly and professional , quick to check-in and no issues. A very positive experience

Reserved the room on one credit card and checked in with a separate card. Hotel charged us 3 transactions for the stay. 2 full amounts on the reservation card and one on the card we checked in with. How do we get charged 3 times at full price? Plus the refund takes a few days to return. How is this okay!?

Okay, we only payed like a 100 dollars for the four of us. But it was a 100 too much. I don't mind being in a basic hotel, as long as it is clean. This hotel was very very old, dirty, it had a smell as well. The room was full of dust, there was hair on the sofa. Pillows did not have protective cover. The hotel is so old: the lighting, the A/C, the elevators, the carpe, the furniture. We did not have breakfast so we can not review that. But the breakfast area did not looked very clean and the ceiling had humidity spots. We took a peek at the indoor pool, I would not recommend going in there... it looked dirty.

The hotel needs to be updated, which I know will come with a price increase for the rooms. Our room suddenly lost power in the evening, just our room. We had to gather our things in the dark and move to another room. That room was so damp that a change purse left by a prior guest (cleaning well?) was all mold. We had issues with light bulbs and toilet handles too. The hotel is very near all major attractions and the staff is friendly. With all the issues we had, I thought a manager would have spoken to us but that did not happen

The location is perfect. We've stayed at this hotel, before it was owned by Best Western, multiple times. The room was quiet and the beds were fine. The internet was decent. The pool and hot tub are great! These features and the central location are the reason we have stayed here before. That ends with this trip. The hallways, the elevator, all central parts of the hotel were hot. It's August in Virginia. That alone is not a big deal. My concern are the staff and attention to detail. For example, our ice bucket was dirty, coated with something brown and was host to a dead ant. Disgusting. I took it to the front desk so the next person in the room wouldn't have the same problem. The staff did not care. The complimentary breakfast was also beyond underwhelming. I do not think the staff cares about guest experience and it shows.

The hotel was dingy, old, chrome coming off the faucet handles, very dirty air conditioning unit, very old refrigerator and it was tilted and lopsided, very hard to open. We were so tired by the time we checked in or else we would have left and not stayed the one night. The continental breakfast was terrible, hardly nothing there, the few things they did have was cold and to many kids not being supervised by parents and grabbing things that needed to be used by tongues.

The hotel is in an area with a great variety of restaurants, ice cream stores, and other hotels. Check-in was easy, and the rooms were comfortable. The only drawback, as other reviews have stated, was the cleanliness of our room. Upon entering, we noticed that some family's little terrors had smeared what appeared to be vanilla ice cream (hopefully) all over the lone window in the room. They had also left a half-gallon of milk in the mini fridge. We called down to the front desk after our first night, and asked that our room be cleaned, and vacuumed. We continued calling the front desk for 4 days until finally, on our last night, the room had been cleaned and the window washed. Since the pandemic, hotels have been using that old excuse that they are short-staffed or that they no longer clean and redo the rooms every day. This is getting old; I would not recommend this hotel if you like a clean room.

I stayed here on part 1 of a 6-day trip to the historic triangle, pros-check in was very nice,room had a view, internet worked properly,bathroom was clean, tv works, pool and jacuzzi were nice, close to historic area and other attractions.Cons- beds could be cleaned better (found a few hairs on under parts of sheets), certain tv channels playing other channels programming and breakfast was bad ( messed with my stomach),elevator looked dingy. good for a hotel to rest your head on,but I wouldn't make it your first choice

The staff (Yolanda) allows underage age children staying at another hotel to use the pool and then they steal all the towels and leave. One child would jump the fence in the pool area, run into the hotel and open the side door to let all the children in. I also witnessed 3 adults walk in through the lobby and into the pool area clearly not a guest and when confronted we were threatened that they would "Kick our ass". Do not stay at this hotel!. It is unsafe knowing anyone is allowed into this hotel!!

Room was not as the pictures portrayed They advertised nice rooms at this hotel at the elevators, but this hotel has old outdated rooms! So disappointed Unruly kids at the pool! I had to involve parents for not monitoring their bad children! It almost escalated!

We stayed one night the room was clean however the fitness area needs needs some serious updates the treadmill was out of order the room smelled of mold/mildew there were no cleaning products to wipe down the machines or weights overall I rate it about a 2.5

I was in Williamsburg for the Veteran's Golf Association Senior qualifier at Ford's Colony and looking for a fair priced place to stay for four days. Best Western made the cut! Nothing fancy but comfortable to stay there. Near some good restaurants all within walking distance. Downtown is 4 miles about 10 minute drive. The pinball machine was a hit!

We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the Visitor's Center. Very convenient and a pretty straight shot driving there. The room was big and comfortable and clean. It contained a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. It was also convenient to several restaurants. The breakfast room was bright and cheerful and could comfortably seat many quests. The food selection was very good.

I did only stay for one night since I was just travelling through. The hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable - just what you expect from a Best Western Hotel. Breakfast was very good with a huge selection of items, only some toast was missing. My room door was jammed; it was not fixed, but they showed me how to open it... Location is great. Just a frew minutes away from Colonial Williamsburg and from the Outlet center. I would definietly come back.

This hotel not only is dirty and goes without being cleaned for days, but many of the amenities (including the jetted tub) do not function. There are electrical issues throughout the hotel and the heating/cooling system doesn't work properly. This COULD all be forgiven, if not for the atrocious handling of this situation by the incompetent staff. Andrea at the front desk should be terminated immediately for her actions confronting a guest and when the GM was contacted, she brushed off the issue like it did not occur and did not assume a hospitable role in handling the situation. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL - you will be calling corporate to ask for a refund that will never come if you do.

A good room for a fair price. Breakfast was what you expect in a hotel, not a restaurant. Plenty of parking spaces. Appeared to be A safe area to stay. Some of the towels needed to be replaced. I would return to this hotel if in town again.

Check in was friendly, rooms were good. Outdated and needs a good deep clean but decent. Our room was right by the side door so we heard the door slamming all night and early morning, hard to sleep. I would request not having a door near an exit. The AC/heat unit was dated, and was hard to get a comfortable temp in the room. Breakfast was good, large variety. Hot tub was great, didn't use the pool but felt warm and was clean. Location was great, we could walk to the Mexican restaurant just 2 minutes away, and colonial Williamsburg was very close.

Booked a king room w/jetted tub. Paid $175+ on a Saturday night. It wasn't the cheapest, when my husband and I got into the room we were welcomed with a musty smell. The jetted tub didn't work and there was pink mold all over the tile and grout. The bed was so bad, literally just looked and felt like a bed frame with springs. No comfort whatsoever, pillows provided were like rolled up sheets stuffed into a pillow case. Woke up to head to breakfast @ 8:20am. When we got there it was so packed (I guess good for the hotel) there were 30+ people no seats and what was left was frozen jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches which took 2 minutes to cook and we were to cook them ourselves in the ONE microwave provided. My husband and I decided to skip that wait and grabbed breakfast on the road. Pretty disappointed, it was suppose to be our 5 years anniversary and it felt like a waste we should have stayed at home.

Our stay at the Best Western was delightful. Travis at front desk checked myself and family in. He was swift and customer service superb. The rooms were clean and we got a good night sleep. Breakfast was good and food was hot. Overall we were happy and will be back again.

The hotel is nice enough, but the rooms need some updating. The double beds are too small for two people of any size to sleep comfortably. Also, the mattresses are worn out and springy. The TVs also need replacement to a newer, LED flat screen style. The bathrooms are small but functional. Breakfast is decent, but the area is far too small and crowded. More options are needed. Overall, the hotel is OK, but it could be so much better with a little investment.

this hotel is close to all you want to see and do in Williamsburg....it is clean and has a very friendiy staff....breakfast is very good and this hotel is a great value for your money....i highly recommend it....

Checked in after a full day at Busch Gardens. I wasn't greeted upon arriving to .the front desk, the gentleman seemed "over it". Check in was quick with no small talk at all. After staying g for 2 nights I wasn't able to get anyone's names. We stayed in a room with 2 double beds. The room was super clean and cozy and cure. The I door pool and hot tub are the reasons I would go back. Breakfast was less than impressive with limited options.

The front desk staff was wonderful and friendly. And the breakfadt was decent. However, I had to get a room change due to roaches in the first room. The second night of my stay, I spotted a roach in the room I had been changed to. Not staying here again.

Best Western comes through again with caring staff and clean facility. My grandson was in love with the heated indoor pool and had a great time. Breakfast was the usual powder eggs, and sliced thin bacon, coffee weak (but my son is a Starbucks snob).

We chose this hotel primarily for location. The staff emphasized cleaning when we arrived. But then said they would not be offering housekeeping, shixh seemed a bit off. With enhanced cleaning I would expect more service, not less. It was very welcoming when you walked in, but once past the main desk it was very outdated. The carpet in the hallways had very bad stains, on all floors. The second floor had an overwhelming Marijuana smell. Someone was having a very exciting party, which fortunately did not funnel into our room but did linger for hours in the hallways. The bed was older and uncomfortable. A spring popped right under me when I sat down. The most frustrating aspect were the sheets and comforter. The pillow cases had holes in them. As did the comforter. Not sure if the pillow cases were burn holes and I have no idea what would have caused the patterned holes in the comforter. All in all, it made my feel as if nothing was sanitary or clean. Breakfast was as expected for a hotel. The setup was poor. Too small of a space for too many guests. The drinks and food were all in the same area so a lot of standing around over one another waiting in line. A huge contradiction to the safety and sanitary paperwork they made us sign at check in.

great location and price for the area. huge lobby. very clean . huge rooms. friendly staff. large pool and jacuzi area. plenty of room to park. great breakfast selection. only a mile away from historic area.

Generally, the building is worn out.  The appearance is lackluster and just hanging on.  The staff was friendly and responsive enough but I believe the facility and resources are a limitation for them.  Did you know there is no ice machine available on the first floor.  Would seem to be the first place to find one especially since food and beverage are served in the area. The biggest complaint from our overall experience was an incident on the second night.  We returned to our room after being gone for the complete day and upon opening the door were overcome by the smell of marijuana smoke.  It was strongest in our room but I also noted it in the nearby stairwell.   I went down to the manager to ask for help and what could be done to find out how this had happened.  I was thinking that maybe a video of our location at the end of a hall with outside walls might be able to prove that is was not in our room as it seemed to be by strength of the smell.  The only remedy was air freshener which after exhausting her search in housekeeping and behind the managers desk she produced her own personal air freshener for us to use. Couple things from that experience.  Number one, the non-smoking status of our room was invalidated and we had to put up with the results of that.  The facility in general does not appear to manage the activities inside and adjacent to the entries well.  Even if the source of the smoke in our room came from outside, how can it be that someone is able to smoke in that area, not to mention smoking pot, for a long enough period to overtake our room with all doors and windows fully closed?  I'll avoid the whole debate of legalized drug usage and simply say that there is an odor associated with pot that can be phrased as "smelling like skunk".  Given that it happened, is the best your management can do in response is provide a personal air freshener and leave it at that? We will be returning to the area for the next few years.  We have no intentions of returning to this hotel nor recommending it.  The resources and limits of the staff's engagement just do not warrant the fee.

Dirty, roaches, and employees aren't very welcoming. We booked this in combination with Busch Gardens, and honestly we normally book a more star hotel. But this experience underlines for us that we should keep doing that. We checked out one night earlier and booked another hotel in the area. When we said we wanna check out the woman at the reception asked if everything was okay. When I said it wasn't she didn't say or ask anything. She probably understood right away

Great location but in need of some serious TLC. Mildewy odor throughout hotel, bathroom faucet leak in room never fixed, room door did not close properly, poor quality breakfast food, hotel hall carpets dirty and not vacuumed. Could be nice place with a little more effort, but affordable and good location

Very friendly staff. Hotel in a good quiet location. Has an indoor pool and gym. Good WiFi cover in the room and my room even has a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Problem was that noise in the corridor echoes into the room and can be noisy w doors slamming and kids running around. Also only 1 lift of 2 works thus causing inconvenience in the morning when everyone is checking out and the chamber maids move between levels with their trolley. Morning breakfast was excellent and comparable to some high end hotels we've stayed in. We reported at check-out we found wasp nesting outside the room window.

This place needs a little updating. Overall we had a good stay. Just not the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The breakfast area was small and the breakfast hours are only two hours long. There were way too many people trying to get breakfast in such a short time.

Property is showing its age and could use some updating and remodeling. The desk staff was professional, and check-in was smooth. Room was dated and a little tattered, but the room and bathroom was sufficiently clean and comfortable. Would have given this property a higher rating but the breakfast was awful. Mostly very cheap and unhealthy options. Literally no bagels, english muffins, not even any sliced bread. Only cereals available were pop tarts and fruit loops. No fresh fruits- etc., etc. When I asked the attendant if they had any other cereals, she got surprisingly nasty with me, and I do mean rude. We did not eat there. We stay at BW appx. 30 nights a year. This was by far the worst breakfast I've seen. I would not recommend this BW. I will never stay here again.

Our stay was most enjoyable, the staff was professional, caring and accommodating. The hotel is clean, the pool is clean, our room was immaculate, kudos to the housekeeper! The towels, in bed linen were very clean and fresh! The refrigerator is a good size and efficient! The entire dining area is exceptionally clean. The food and service in dining area is amazing! so many choices. A great variety of food to choose from. Cold food was cold, hot food was hot. There was an abundance of food and many options meeting the need for all. The dining area ambience is very nice.

Stayed as [art of a vacation package with Busch Gardens. Room OK, bed OK, Bath OK. Main problem was lack of welcome from the staff and guests gathering on our floor at all hours. The noise from the gatherings kept us awake until 1am both nights. Breakfast was OK day 1 (we were early) but day 2 nothing left by 8.30am. Wouldn't choose here again.

Great for $80/ night. Mostly clean and secure. We were 2 weeknights and had no issues. Breakfast was a frenzy with everyone jamming in to get free food. Not fun but for the price it was fine. Staff was nice and location great for access to attractions.

The hotel was clean. The room was clean. The sheets were clean. The pool and hot tub were relaxing. The hotel staff was very polite and accommodating. The area was in a good location. The parking had great lighting and we all felt safe and we checked in.

Nice place. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very organized and well supplied which saved us money. TV remote was hard to use. Lots of places close by. Overall very nice and would go back.

Stayed 4 nights for trip to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. No housekeeping due to Covid...STILL?! Each night we had to gather up trash, collect wet towels and throw them outside our room. Had to get clean or new amenities from the front desk, who were rude and annoyed each time. I asked for some towels, and she said "Some towels, what is some towels? I told her how many, then asked for some plastic cups and she said "I don't have any here, go get them over there [pointing to coffee area]" Older gentlemen at breakfast area was always in a horrible mood. No towels in pool area, but did not want to ask any more than we had to so just didn't bother. Just unbelievably and incredibly rude staff all around. Room dated and pillows totally uncomfortable. Will never return.

Rooms were very clean and spacious. Asked for a complimentary toothbrush at the front desk and the desk clerk said they were out of them--really?? The complimentary breakfast was okay. I wish they would have had some bacon and better variety of pastries.

JUNE 2022 - Got a good deal on this hotel and had lowered my expectations based on the many reviews I read. Definitely some mixed feelings on this one. - Rooms clean overall but old. Ours had an old smoke stench (didn't seem recent, maybe just built up from years). Sheets were clean, room was good size, microwave/refrigerator - everything seemed to be in working order but you can tell the age. - When they had food, breakfast was pretty good for free - They had one pastry (usually a muffin or sweet roll), apples/oranges, prepackaged oatmeal, and 3 'hot' trays which usually had eggs, either bacon or sausage, and either waffles, pancakes or french toast sticks. Food, when it was there, was pretty good tasting BUT they where CONSTANTLY running out of food. Lines were long and by the time you got to the hot food, not uncommon to have 2 of the 3 pans empty and sometimes the wait was 10-20 minutes to get the next batch of food. I don't know how much of the food they actually make there vs bring it prepackaged - the waffles seemed prepackaged. At one point they brought out an entire bowl of frozen jimmy dean sausage and egg biscuits and there was a long wait for the microwave to even make them edible. All that said, the taste of the food was not bad, but you WILL get frustrated during breakfast. - Lobby where breakfast is located is very nice and updated - Indoor Pool was okay - open long hours from 9am to 11pm, a bit steamy in there as could be expected and usually more crowded in the evenings. There are a couple of arcade games and vending machines before you enter the pool area. - Hotel is right across the street from Ollie's (store) if you need to grab any cheap stuff, and within walking distance to Pirate's Cove Golf course *if* you are willing to cross a relatively busy road (suggest driving just to be safe). - They don't clean the rooms when you stay "due to covid" but I think that's just an excuse to cut down on costs and I think if you stay 5 days or more they will change sheets if you ask them to. - Lots of families and at least 1 bus here, so can get a little noisy in the halls but think this is typical of a vacation town. Would I stay here again? Probably based on price. But you do get what you pay for so don't expect a $200 hotel when you're only paying $100.

For one night on the way to the beach this hotel was ok. I wouldn't want to be there any longer. The room was about the size of the bed. With the crib added we had to have ( the only) chair removed to be able to move. We had to ask 3 times for the crib, and breakfast was 40 people, many with kids, and only one high chair, asking a single overworked young woman if there were more eggs, more butter, more oj, etc. It is a convenient walk into colonial Williamsburg, however, so I'll give it that.

Wheelchair accessible room was not wheelchair accessible. - room size is too small -- too much furniture & too large of a bed for that room to be for a wheelchair user - bed too tall - remove coffee table in front of sofa - grab bars in bathroom are not placed in proper location to be helpful next to toilet or in shower - remove sides on shower chair so individual can transfer safely & sink is too close to transfer safely -- suggest roll in shower - cannot reach heating/ac controls because table is in the way - cannot reach anything on top of tv/microwave area - need lower sink & lower mirror -- couldn't fix my hair because I couldn't see the mirror

Cost way too much money for the lackluster place that it was. Rooms were dirty when we got there—there was trash on the floor next to our bed. Room was generally run down and smelled, and the carpet was wet when we arrived. For $10 more per night I should have booked a better hotel.

Stayed her about 12 years ago... I think the room has exactly the same items in it. Elevators creak and moan, the luggage carts are nearly disassembled, gym equipment is unmaintained, just an over all poor quality hotel. At 23:00 the smoke alarm next door shorted out, causing a high pitched screeching noise to wake my wife and daughter. It was taken care of, but was still hard to resettle. Woke up early the next morning (cause breakfast ends at 9) only to find they were out of food. This WAS a nice hotel, I don't see myself ever booking this again.

We showed up to the hotel after spending the day at Busch Gardens. Upon getting out of the car, we noticed there was loud music playing somewhere at the hotel. I assumed that it was for a party or something in a meeting hall somewhere within the hotel and decided to overlook it. When we checked in no mention was made of any event going on at the hotel. It was close to 11 pm when we finally checked in. On the way to our room we passed several groups of teenagers yelling down the halls to their friends, regardless of the hour. We also passed rooms which were playing loud music and had people shouting in them. When we arrived at our room, the noise was very noticeable and would of made it difficult to sleep. The room itself was in very poor shape and didn't look like it had been cleaned. There were noticeable stains on the comforter and ants in the bathroom. Given the noise from the hall and the state of the room, we decided to spend the night somewhere else.

The carpet was sticky, the bathroom was so small that you had to squeeze by just to close the door. The shower was dank and the bathtub was gross. The lighting was broken in the room and the A/C was very loud. There was poor sound proofing as well. Finally, the pillows are just awful. They need to do a full renovation.

I was glad there were good breakfast options (no waffle maker, but there were microwaveable breakfast sandwiches). It was better than what I had heard other hotels were doing (like cold pastries or granola bars). The pool was heated and warm enough for me, someone who usually gets cold. There was a hot jacuzzi tub, too. I'd stay here again.

They were very friendly and accommodating. We were shocked at the poor condition of the Baymont by Wyndham and would stay in the car before entering that crack house. The BEST WESTERN took us in when we walked in that night. They gave us a great deal on a CLEAN room. The staff even changed the shower curtain during our stay. Rooms are well-stocked and everything worked. Anything untoward would be the direct result of rude, slob-guests. The hotel was always being cleaned and I have OCD when it comes to that. The breakfast was good with plenty of options and the coffee was excellent. Anything messy was not the fault of the staff or hotel. Parking was easy. This is literally right across the street from the horse and oxen paddock that walks you right into the Historic Colonial Area. Could not ask for a better spot for walking! Again, very friendly staff and very smooth operation considering the times we're in.

Pros- The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was great for kids offering tons of foods. Pool was large and clean. Location is near Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. Tons of restaurants and shopping nearby Cons- no housekeeping due to Covid. Anytime we needed something from front desk we had to go down to the lobby. One night our child got sick and I called for new bedding. I had to run down to get more sheets and they told me they didn't have an extra blankets for a hotel with 120+ rooms

The jacuzzi only worked 2 out of 6 nights. The staff was great especially housekeeping. Clean. Close to restaurants and Colonial Williamsburg. Parking is free and there are plenty of spaces. No hidden fees.

The rooms were very clean and the staff was so nice. The pool was warm and the hot tub was nice. The hotel was really quiet at this visit. The breakfast was great. The Amenities were all there as expected. There was extra towels already in the room and by the pool.

Not the worst but not absolutely amazing either. Lobby was pretty but the rest didnt match up to how it looked. Some things were pretty dated and the lighting in our room was pretty dim in some areas. Most of my annoyance was due to inconsiderate guests who like to be loud, slam doors or smoke right at the entrance to where the smell comes into the hall. The pool was warm and jacuzzi was nice. Just wish they had replenished the pool towels instead of having baskets full of used ones. The staff was incredibly friendly and having warm breakfast options was nice. The bed was comfy and the location was perfect for what where we needed to go. Laundry machines also had an option to pay through an app so no coins were needed (yay!) Vending machines offered a good variety of snacks and oddly enough seemed less expensive than convenience stores. I would stay here again, but maybe request a room not on the first floor or get one away from the back of the building. The trash truck showed up right behind our room at 5:20am which startled my kid out of sleep.

Me and my husband stayed here for two nights in February 2021. It's in a great location close to Historic Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Jamestown and Merchant Square. Was very affordable and had a nice pool and a hot tub. There is a Mexican restaurant, Chinese Buffett, Cracker Barrel and more all within walking distance. Would definitely stay again. Shout out to Yolanda at the front desk for being helpful and funny.

Have stayed here several times when coming to Busch gardens. Perfect place to have a place to sleep without spending a ton. staff are nice, rooms are old but very clean. Free coffee in morning and parking is accessible. Will stay next time I'm in Williamsburg again.

I Loved The Hotel . MY Room Was Clean And The Bed Was The Most INVITING. I Slept like A Baby. Breakfast Was Great As WELL. I WILL BE BACK TO STAY REAL SOON. All i can keep saying is that i love the hotel and the staff and i will return in the soon future.

We got a good room rate here on a Thursday night (off-season). The hotel was well-run and clean, and we had no issues with our room. The hotel isn't far from all of the tourism sites, particularly Colonial Williamsburg, and it was a convenient location for our trip. There was a standard continental hot breakfast at the hotel; we didn't partake, but we did grab some packaged pastries on the way out in the morning.

My daughter and I spent two nights here on our visit to Historic Williamsburg. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the queen beds were very comfortable. Nice lobby area and breakfast room with decent breakfast selection. This property is about 1 mile from the historic area . . . and WAY less expensive than hotels within the area. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Hotel was very nice. Clean, comfortable and very accommodating. Just minutes from Colonial Williamsburg, and there's a multitude of restaurants and shopping just around the corner. The free breakfast was adequate. Basic, but good. Would definitely stay here again. They allowed us back three hours after we checked out so my son could change into his dress uniform in the lobby bathroom as he was about to report for duty in Yorktown.

My son and I stayed for three nights. Decent hotel for a decent price. Wonderful staff. Great location. The only bad thing that I can think of is that breakfast was only served from 7am-9am. I just grabbed to go items and brought back to my room for when my son woke up. Otherwise, great hotel.

The hotel added an extra 100 deposit(?) that they didn't even tell me acknowledge. Still waiting for that to resolve and front desk staff was no help. Pool/hot tub felt grimy There for three days and had no maid service. Room had a musty smell Worst breakfast--all microwave and very little options

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Outdated furniture needs replaced. Saw ants in the bathroom multiple times. Housekeeping could be a little more thorough when vacuuming. Jetted tub in room was noisy but was great to relax in after a long day.

We have stayed at this Best Western numerous times in the past and always stay there when we are in the Williamsburg area. It has always been clean and the staff has always been great. It appears that they have done many renovations since the last time we were there and it is even nicer than we remember with the modern upgrades to the rooms and lobby area. The location is perfect so that you can conveniently got to Colonial Williamsburg, plus there are numerous restaurants within walking distance and Putt Putt Golf. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We did a bundle deal through Busch Gardens with this hotel and it was great! We just needed somewhere for 2 nights. Staff was friendly both check in and check out. Offers free breakfast and though we didn't try it, the area looked nice and a good variety. The room was really clean, came with a mini fridge, microwave and decent sized tv. Only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish the beds were a little softer and same with the pillows. Also wish we got the king instead of 2 doubles cuz they were very small. They also offer an option for celebrating stuff but I'm not sure why because we put that we were and nothing happened. Not necessarily a negative, just was confusing. Overall a great stay and was definitely great for the price

A week of family vacation in WMBG started with a filthy in room Jacuzzi. It was supposed to be an upgrade. In reality, a walk in shower would have been better. Obviously the cleaning left much to be desired. After filling the jacuzzi with water and adding a few drops of Dawn dish soap to the water, I ran it for 10 minutes before draining it. The bottom of the white tub looked like someone sprinkled a large amount of pepper on it. The mattress was very uncomfortable for both myself and my spouse.

The location is good, there are many decent to good places to eat within 15 minutes. Close enough to Busch gardens to be ok, not really close to American Revolutionary museum and other historical sites My problem is with the hotel itself. Yes, it has an indoor pool and yes it serves breakfast ..the menu is limited The room is another concern, we left some food on the fridge and 2 hours later there was a swarm of ants around the food. i freaked out, the moved us to another room but the damage was definitely done. The A/C unit is LOUD, the walls thin so noise is relatively high in the room. The beds are only fair, the bathroom is small and the carpet is starting to age. And, the maids never touched the room in 4 days, 3 nights. i had to ask for towels (thin) daily, i stopped asking for any service, just lived with it. For the price, really its worth it. However, if you live a little larger, i would strongly suggest spending a bit more and getting into a higher grade hotel.

My girlfriend and I stayed here after seeing it on Williamsburgvacations.com and it was a great deal, we found out it was after a bit of time. Day 3 of our 7 day stay we found a roach in our room (209) at around 10pm and we decided it would be best to move. I went down the front desk and the night manager named Yolonda was just plain rude and didn't care to get off her phone watching Netflix. I asked if there was staff to clean the room or pick up the roach and I was told no one is available until morning. She stated "she was the only one there" so I asked for another room. The other room was on the same floor, room 224, and once I entered the room, the room smelled musty and had mold on the furniture and fabric. Clearly no one took care of the room recently. I went back down to the front desk and requested another room, I was given an attitude asked "what is the problem with the room?." I requested another room showing the pictures of the room and the mold. I received another room on the first floor, room 104, this room was the worst of them all, the room was renovated and hasn't been used in some time. I could tell based on the carpet change from the rest of the building and it all looked old. Never get a room on the first floor. Finally I asked for a twin queen room and was given room 203. The room was decent, but not as good as the first room, also had a broken fridge. Next morning I spoke with the day manager Lisa and she was much more friendly and assisted me offering room service and the original room back, we took it. Lisa was amazing to say the least compared to Yolonda. Turns out after doing some research Will Wyatt Hotels LLC(the Best Western) also owns WilliamsburgVacation.com, which are both run by Shannon Hartig. This woman offers vacation packages not from best western, but for her own hotel that she buys the royalty rights to use the name. I'm not staying here again and no one should either, just stay at the Comfort Inn down the street, it's not that much more and I'm sure it's standards for roaches and mold are better. Just don't stay here.

Not a good experience! First impression was good as reception area clean, bright and modern. Rooms are dark and dated. We were given a room with an adjoining door and on the first night when guests checked in next door in the early hours we had three nights of a dog barking, boys yelling at each and loud tv until around 2 am ish. I called the front desk only to be told that the dog was a service dog (not sure this was true due to behaviour), the hotel was busy so told to deal with it! I asked if a manager would be available in the morning and he said he was the manager. Breakfast area was mobbed! The area is far too small for the size of hotel when busy. They have reduced the breakfast hours by an hour so everyone has less time. We avoided two of the mornings as the queues were mental. The beds were comfy but the pillows horrid and lumpy. We also witnessed a member of staff being abusive to a guest in front of children in the main lobby area! The girl on reception apologised to us for having to witness it. The patio area by the pool was locked so you couldn't use it to eat outside in the evening. The receipt differs from what you are charged as they charge a tax that doesn't show on your bill. Pool is nice as is the hot tub but not worth 3 nights lack of a sleep. Only one of the 2 elevators working during our whole stay, but as our room was on the 2nd floor we could use the stairs and avoid the wait.

Very clean hotel and minutes away from all the great things to see in Williamsburg. Staff was super friendly and had a nice indoor pool and hot tub which the kids liked. Would stay again at this location.

Definitely fell short on my BW expectation. The bedding was definitely dirty and hadn't been changed from prior guests that stayed in the room. A gross, hair wrapped hair tie was on the bedside table and a plastic knife was under the desk. It was obvious the room was just quickly “straightened up” rather than being thoroughly being cleaned after the last guest stay.

Dirty comforter, no extras because ALL 16 others had been given out. Breakfast was packed with very few masked people walking around. Visited during a sharp rise in the Delta variant and expected more modifications. Expected prepackaged items we could grab and go.

Stayed for a mini-vacation. They do not provide any housekeeping. Full trash bags and wet towels lined the halls. The housekeepers do pick up those but they don't replace towels or garbage bags. Got the room across from the ice machine, between it and the screaming kids in the hall=no sleep. For the price it would have been OK if the housekeeping issues were addressed

Good clean hotel This hotel is older but has been mostly renovated. There are still some outdated aspects of it such as the rugs and the doors/door jams are the old metal style. However our room was impeccably clean and comfortable. Our bathroom had been almost completely renovated minus the tub. The mattresses were comfortable and fairly new. The common areas of the hotel we're also clean. We did not eat the hotel breakfast but in passing by it looked to be the standard hotel breakfast fare. This was a father-son vacation and the hotel was perfect for this. We stayed for four nights in five days to visit Bush Gardens and water country. Had my wife been with us, she wouldn't have been completely satisfied but still she would've been comfortable. She has grown accustomed to staying at more upscale places which she does deserve. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Perfect location to the amusement parks, food, etc. There is also a Pirates Cove Mini golf across the street along with a Cracker Barrel restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, and a few others.

Before booking this hotel I stated that I have a service dog. I brought all of the necessary paper work for my service animal. At check in they were reminded again about my service animal. I put a privacy do not disturb on my door for many reason including the fact of me having a service animal. The morning of check out I get a knock on the door (that has a privacy do not disturb sign) I'm unsure who's at my door bc there is no uniform present. She then tells me pets are not allowed. I told her this is my wife's service dog. She then asked well why at service does the dog provide. My wife comes to the door and inform this person (who is now known to be a staff member) the services that are provided and she walks away saying ok. 1. This was addressed at check in 2. You could have called my room respecting the fact that I have a do not disturb sign up 3. There was no introduction to whom you are, no uniform or anything. Just completely unprofessional. Now on to Breakfast review. There were biscuit sandwiches which had NO non-pork options, not even an egg and cheese biscuit. The hand sanitizer was out, with the amount of guest coming in and out of the area, not having hand sanitizer is unexceptionable. Breakfast hours were 7-9 but when we went down a little after 7 the breakfast wasn't out and 25min before 9 they were taking up breakfast items. However I did speak with a front desk member (Yolonda) about the staff taking up the breakfast items early and she apologized on the staffs behalf offered to grab me anything if I needed it. Overall if customer service was improved and there was better communication between staff about guest with service animals. I would give it another try. Things that could have been better in the room would be the cleanliness of the tub. It was disgusting. Also there was black residue on the sheets not sure if it was a stain or not.

Overall the stay was good...i have stayed in this hotel before and had a much better stay. I do understand with Covid it changes everything, but i feel it could have been better. The room was average, and we could hear the next room every time they showered or used the restroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful when needed.

The beds were not the most comfortable but were decent. The walls must have been super thin but overall we enjoyed our stay. The area was close to all the historic stuff but traffic wasn't ridiculous so that was also nice.

Stayed here for two nights while visiting family. Checked in after midnight. The room was big, clean and bed was comfortable. Only problem was the LOUD air conditioner. There was no way to turn the fan off and no way to quiet it or stop it so it meant lying awake for a long time. Second night followed a day filled with activities so slept better. No maid service. The breakfast room is very cute and lots of tables but also lot of people. I didn't like the individually wrapped Jimmy Dean biscuit sandwiches or the "eggs", but perhaps others do. There were other choices such as cereal and yogurt. Would stay here again were it not for the loud AC.

This was a last minute end of summer overnight for our family of three. We had no issues at all with our stay. Room was clean, Wi-Fi was fast, service was great, location was ideal, and pricing was very reasonable. What more could you ask for?

Don't get me wrong, it is a nice place to stay. It has all of the basics, including a fridge (with an actual freezer compartment) and a microwave. There was plenty of room in the bathroom and the room doesn't fee like it was cramped with furniture, as with some newer hotels these days. However, it's time to update the rooms with this hotel, too. The beds were comfortable, but I couldn't help noticing everywhere I looked, the rest of the furniture was somewhat mixed-matched. Now, if you don't care about stuff like that, then you'll love this hotel. I only care because when I see furniture that old and that mixed matched, it makes me worry about that things I can't see and don't want to see. The good news is I didn't find any dust balls in the corners of the room and it passed the white sock test, meaning the dark carpet was clean. The pictures of the lobby are pretty accurate, but I can't speak about the rooms because we didn't stay in a room that looked like the picture. One thing that's a plus is the areas was very quiet around the hotel. You can walk down the street to the Cracker Barrel and there was an Mexican restaurant that was always busy = good food. I liked the pool area and the hot tub, but there were a lot of families when we stayed, so we didn't get too much time there. We also didn't get a chance to check out the fitness room, but we noticed there were people in there, too. One thing is for sure, if they updated the rooms like they updated the lobby and other areas, then this would be a really nice hotel. We chose this hotel because of the price and 4-star rating. As I've stated before, if the things I care about don't bother you, then you'll love to be here. At the end of the day, I was just thankful I had a clean place to lay my head. Some other things to keep in mind: your room will not be serviced unless you request it and once again, three travels and we get a set of towels for only two people.

Only stayed one night but room was clean and comfy. Due to ongoing pandemic, room service was by request only but they were able to provide anything needed at the front desk. Breakfast was limited but the attendant there was super helpful and friendly. Check in and out was easy and fast. Didn't have time to use the pool but I peeked in and saw a nice hot tub too!

Hotel was affordably priced ($105) compared to other hotels in area. Room was clean and spacious. On-site parking and indoor pool. Room was definitely dated, but no cosmetic issues (furniture, fridge, carpet, paint, we're all fine). If you're looking for a functional hotel reasonably priced this is recommended. If you want to spend more money for a hotel that looks newer stay somewhere else, but this hotel is clean and does the job.

I can not begin to express how happy my family was with our stay at this Best Western in Williamsburg. I had previously book another hotel for our stay but had stumbled across a review that had me cancel the other and book this hotel immediately and it did not disappoint. From walking in, the front desk was courteous, friendly and helpful. We arrived early, our room was not ready and the gentleman at the front desk verified my number so he could call when it was available. Which was only about 45 minutes later. Our room was clean, AC worked great, beds were comfortable and TV had enough channel options that my 1 year old could watch Disney, my 12 year old could watch Cartoon Network and my husband could watch the news- we even caught a movie one night. Wi-Fi was not an issue for connection. The room features a refrigerator and microwave that came in handy. Breakfast was 'modified' and our orders had to be placed the night before, only 1 morning was there trouble locating our bag, but the staff was able to get all of our requests together quickly. The lobby coffee was, hotel coffee but not terrible. The location of the hotel was convenient to Historic Williamsburg and the main road where many restaurants and stores are located. The only situation we encountered was having to ask front desk for more towels and we were only originally provided with 1 soap (as we did not have the room cleaned each day to replenish). Overall great experience and if we ever were to visit the area again, would not think twice to stay at this location.

This place was great! From check in to check out. Alexis at the front desk is the best! After coming in late from a horrible hotel we were tired and cranky and Alexis cared enough to help make our stay here wonderful Thank you all for a great rested night!

The staff at the front desk were friendly and welcoming every time we spoke to them. I asked for extra packets of coffee for the last day (I needed more than decaf), and the clerk set them aside for me to pick up when I came back that day. Every employee we passed in the halls gave us a cheerful greeting. The room was comfortable and roomy for my son (age 18) and I. There was a nice desk and quite a few places to plug in electronics to charge (in the desk itself, in the lamps). The beds were firm. I cannot comment on the pillows, because I brought my own, but my son said they were uncomfortable (our only complaint). There was a mini-fridge and microwave in the room, and the air-conditioner worked well. There was good hot water in the shower and the water pressure was excellent. My favorite part of the room was the size of the bathtub...I'm a bit wide in the hips and had more than enough room to soak in the tub. My son was happy to see a hot tub and pool. He enjoyed the pool, however, he said he could not stay in the hot tub because the chemicals were so strong they stung his eyes. We did not take advantage of the few breakfast options. I understand that during COVID options are limited, but some fresh fruit would have been nice. The location was amazing, five minutes from Colonial Williamsburg and about five minutes from a variety of restaurants.

We were happy to learn this facility had opened their indoor poor (and jacuzzi) to their guests. The lobby and our room have been renovated/ updated. We especially appreciated the flexibility the hotel provided for a late check out, in spite of their busy full-capacity status, which allowed us to sleep in a bit on our check-out day, and not rush, which helped us remain relaxed and low stress for our road trip home. Thanks for that welcome accommodation!

My wife and I decided to visit Williamsburg, VA for the first time during memorial day weekend. We have been very loyal to the Best Western brand during previous vacations. My wife actually has back problems for which she is on medication and the beds were very uncomfortable, in fact it caused alot of back pain for her and she had to take pain meds. Additionally, the tub and sink had plumbing issues. And the tub was extremely dirty.

I had a great weekend! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our toilet in our room would not flush when we got in our room and when we went to the front desk to report it they had somebody up there right away to fix the problem. We were very impressed at how fast and nice the guy was who fixed the problem. The only complaint we had in the bed was very hard. Other than that we loved the hotel. We will definitely be back but we just hope the next bed sleeps a whole lot better!

Our family of 6 stayed from 4/5-4/9 2021, and had a wonderful stay here. Check in was a breeze and all of the staff were very friendly helpful, as well as accommodating to whatever we needed. I honestly expected less when it came to available amenities due to the pandemic, but was pleasantly surprised to see the pool, hot tub, and gym open for guests. We have summer passes to Busch Gardens and will definitely be booking our rooms here whenever we come to use them.

Property was nice and clean. Rooms were a nice size and also clean. Staff was friendly. Location was convenient to local stores and restaurants. I would definitely stay again. We are currently planning an upcoming trip.

Checking in was smooth, & warm. The woman at the front desk was so helpful & kind. Our room was clean & comfortable. I appreciated the updates they've done to the decor & LOVED the lighted mirror in the bathroom. We used the pool in our second night, it was clean & spacious enough that it was very easy for us to maintain social distance. Will be staying here again

The staff at this property are very kind and professional folks. My experience told me that they truly care about the experience their guest have at their property. The hotel is kept immaculate, it is in a peaceful surrounding and there is a breakfast offered. The young man that checked me in was so nice and considerate to my pickiness. I wish I caught his name so that I could reference him directly. Thank you for having me as a guest and providing me with an exceptional experience.

The Good Close to everything Friendly staff Clean $56 for King room The Bad Hallways routinely smelled like drugs Covid breakfast stinks (You can't get decent food,but you can self coffee and OJ with no mask compliance???) guest with no mask yelling he's dehydrated while asking about weed and what time the liquor store opens on a Sunday morning. Staff said nothing and laughed!! Bed was badly worn and hard Room and hallways are too dark Sofa in room was really soft and uncomfortable Staff takes no ownership of problems that are evident. Example...Large Christmas decor out front laying on its side and the continued to walk past it for 2 days and don't attempt to right it. Overall it's a one and done. I couldn't stay again if it was for free!

The hotel staff was amazing. They were always so nice and friendly. The room was a normal size and the area was quiet. The pool is large and the hot tub is very hot! The pool area was clean and the kids had fun there. While I really have no complaints about the stay and I would definitely stay here again, there are a few things that need to be updated or tended to. In the room, the couch that is a pull out sofa is pushed up against the wall and the air conditioning unit sticks out too far for the bed to actually be pulled out. (See photos) We had to pull the couch out in order to pull the bed out. Upon pulling the bed out we found that it wasn't cleaned and there was loose candy in it. I also found someone's deodorant under the couch. The only other problem area was the hallway to the pool. Again, see photos, the ceiling tiles are very black and moldy. Overall, I still rated this a 4 out of 5 because they were nice, the place was quiet and I felt safe. A few minor things, but definitely would stay here again.

This hotel is located on Richmond Road in Williamsburg and is literally minutes from nearly any destination you might be interested in visiting. The hotel was clean and comfortable with friendly staff members. It is also very close to several great restaraunts.

The only reason I am giving this review any stars is because of the helpful and patient staff at the front desk and the amenities available, which I was unfortunately unable to use. I arrived a few nights ago for a 3 week business trip and I checked into my room and noticed the main light inside the room was not working only leaving me able to use the lamps and bathroom light, I was moved into another room to find a very similar issue but the light was very dim and flickering non-stop, as I finally settled into a new room I noticed a bug on my laptop case and killed it immediately. After finding the bug, I quickly inspected the bed and pull out couch. I did not see any signs of bed bugs at this time but as I was beginning to wind down after eating dinner, I noticed a few bugs crawling on the pull out couch with several more starting to come out of the couch crevices. Luckily, my luggage with my clothes was still by the front door but my bag with my laptop/tablet/work materials was on the other side of the couch, which I quickly pulled off. I moved all of my belongings into the hallway and notified the front desk showing them pictures I had taken. They offered to move me to another room again (the 4th room within a few hours), but this time on the 3rd floor rather than the 4th floor like my previous rooms. The staff was very patient with me, as I have never had to complain about a room or switch rooms before and I travel at least once a year. I did check out of the hotel that night after receiving confirmation for other hotel arrangements from my company. Upon investigating with a friend who owns an extermination company, these were definitely bed bugs. It has been several days and I have had no signs of bringing them with me, however I can't help but be extremely paranoid and stressed about the situation and am constantly itching and feeling like bugs are crawling all over me (I have not been bitten). Due to finding a bed bug on my laptop case, I did throw out my luggage and backpack as I have no way to wash or treat them effectively any time soon knowing pesticides do not always work and worried a hungry traveler or even eggs could be hiding somewhere. Regardless, I have been spraying everything daily, washing all of my clothes each night, and keeping my items in trash bags hoping to kill anything that could have come with me. It has been 3 days since the encounter, and luckily I have yet to see any evidence of them coming to the new hotel with me. I have never experienced anything like this in my life, nor ever had a bad hotel experience. However, I do feel that I need to share this with everyone for future reference. The hotel itself did not seem terrible and I know there can be issues, but bed bugs is where I draw the line. I am upset that the staff did not seem surprised or bothered, did not apologize at all, and did not attempt to try to keep me at their hotel after I discussed finding another hotel elsewhere. Again, I was booked here for 3 weeks. If you stay here, please check your rooms thoroughly!!

Pool ceiling is rusting and really looks bad Grab and go breakfast was pretty low quality but necessary due to COVID. Probably try another place the next time I am in town in the hopes of something a bit better, but this would do in a pinch.

Breakfast sandwich was horrible tasting. Threw them away and went to McDonald's. Internet worked first day and was down the second day. Front desk either didn't know how to reset it or didn't want to bother. Told me to call 800 number. I just gave up and used my phone. Also very uncomfortable chair and table for use of my laptop. Chair also too low and table too high.

From the checkin to the checkout I have nothing I could find positive to share. I wanted to leave this property before even finishing my checkin. We will not stay here again. I wish I could blame our experiences on COVID but I couldn't.

This was a very nice hotel, very clean, the food was wonderful and everyone was very friendly. The rooms were great. Would stay there again. Not far from the park either. There are also a lot of restaurants on that strip, near the hotel.

Lobby was absolutely beautiful. Decor was nice. Front desk service was awesome. Very friendly. Room was ok. Bed was nice. Pool and hot tub could be cleaner and hours could be longer because that's the reason we picked this hotel.

The room was clean a good size and well-appointed. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast was great. Our only glitch was a room lock that didn't work, but that issue was very quickly corrected. It is very close to the Williamsburg Village, which was our main interest. It is also close to many other attractions. The restaurants nearby are good and can cater to many tastes.

Friendly and helpful staff. Above average breakfast. Great location in Williamsburg. Kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Booked the multiple night package and stayed 5 nights between Christmas and New Year. Excellent value for the price and would choose this hotel again.

Clean. Decorated nice, staff is friendly, internet good, pool clean, jacuzzi nice and warm and clean. The food os good and servers are very nice. The check in staff very pleasant. I was with my 9 years old grandson, we felt safe.

Tge hotel is located in a great area, many restaurants close to the historic triangle and Busch gardens. The room was a nice size, as for the bed. It needs new mattresses, the sheets were very rough as were the towels. There was a refrigerator and microwave and small coffee pot. The morning breakfast was not very appealing and did not go back to have breakfast. It was reflective of the price but if we return to Williamsburg, will visit another hotel.

I did not like how when I called to check on my reservations Vanessa whom answered the phone was speaking over me and did not fully let me express my thought. Then when I called corporate Thaddus advised me I should not put in my complaint to the hotel for they have the right to refuse my service before my stay due to me escalating my complaint to corporate. Next when I checked in Steven was awesome gave me military discounts that I did not no I was eligible for as well as informing me of the gift card I would recieve due to my stay. Check in was the best experience of my stay. When I went to check out Lisa was okay I was only confused because the refund Steven told me I would get she informed me I would be getting half of that and then when I recieved my gift card it did not cover the 2 nights I stayed. My family normally does Marriott or Hiltons I think I will stay with those businesses for I never had this many issues with my funds and a hotel before.

We stayed here while on vacation going to Busch Gardens for Christmas Town. The hotel was nice but a little out-dated. We went to the hot tub and it had looked like it had been neglected for some time. The receptionist was nice and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for a one night stay but not anything longer.

If you're planning a visit to Colonial Williamsburg and want a wonderful experience while staying in the area, then this hotel is definitely for you. Beautiful lobby and rooms. Cooked hot breakfast for guests and an amazingly professional staff. You will make this hotel your place to stay on each return visit to the area!

It was a very nice stay for getting rest always enjoy the hot tub and warm pool. The staff was good I also love the warm chocolate chip cookie. The hotel had beautiful Christmas decorations which made it festive

Pros: Rooms were adequate especially for the price. The pool was decent- kids had a blast there. It was not crowded and there were plenty of towels available and great hours. Location was great for finding places to eat/needing to get to Busch Gardens and other tourist spots. Cons: The high speed internet was subpar and most sites would not load. Breakfast was overcrowded and mediocre/cold food. The staff was awful. With the exception of maybe one or two people over our 2 nights stay, everyone was miserable. They acted like you were a bother or in the way and were not at all friendly or cordial. We had 3 rooms for our family. All 3 rooms had issues with the key cards not working for the moment we checked in. Sometimes, if you held it at just the right angle, we could get the strip to work. We did have to call the office for help a few times when after 20+ tries we just could not get them to work (they were kept in their sleeves the entire time we had them but the strips were very worn). On one of those occasions when we called the office for help, someone begrudgingly came up. He unlocked the room door, handed over a new room key and left without uttering a word to us. That was pretty much the standard for staff interaction for the length of our stay.

My children and I stayed here over Thanksgiving. It was good for us and gave us what we needed for a budget friendly trip. The staff was super friendly and helpful! From the front desk staff to the breakfast attendants, all very helpful and happy! I knew that I wasn't staying at a fancy hotel when I made these arrangements so I expected there to be a level of disappointment. I cleaned to pool a couple times before my kids swam. The room wasn't spotless but it was okay. Two nights in, our heater blew up and our room immediately filled with smoke. They came right away and gave us keys to our new room (4th floor), which was much nicer and cleaner than our first room on the 2nd floor. Grateful it wasn't worse! The continental breakfast was okay but the crowd over the holiday overwhelmed the small space and we often had to eat standing up or if we were lucky, on the couch. There is cereal and bagels and such. Bacon and sausage, fake scrambled eggs and either pancakes, home fries or French toast sticks. I noticed a ton of pancake houses on Richmond road which may have been a better choice for me but my kids seemed five with their breakfast choices. They swam a lot so the pool must have been warm enough for them! :) This hotel is very conveniently located. It's easy to get to restaurants and CW. There is plenty of parking and I felt safe traveling alone with my children.

The staff was very accommodating. The hotel was very clean, breakfast was great. Located in walking distance to a few good restaurants..Rocco's Smokehouse Grill is locally owned and Great food! This is the third time I've stayed here and I will be back in another 3 months! Greg Girdler

We have used this best western before. It has always been ok. But no complaints. This time our room was a little outdated . Wallpaper, light switches, tub .. the rooms usually have a funny smell but this time it was not good. And we came into the room with a ozone generator running!!! Probably for awhile. I was not happy. I wonder if anyone else knows if all hotels use these machines. Was there a reason it was in this room? Was the terrible smell from this being ran too long?????If hotels do use them, the public should be notified. The evening front desk said that they didn't know anything about it. The morning check out person said they are used if needed!!!! I am only posting this to see if anyone else has ever had this happen in this or any other hotel.

Checked and was doing my check of the room and I found visible hairs in tub, sink area and on toilet. Called to front desk and was promptly moved. Next room was somewhat cleaner than first, but I used Lysol wipes on everything and sprayed Lysol on sheets and bedclothes.

My husband and I recently took a trip to Williamsburg Va for a week. Booked rooms along the 16 hour drive and then at our destination but without a doubt had the best rest at the Best Western in Williamsburg. Check in was easy which was good because we were both tired from the journey. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Our room was clean (I am paranoid about little creepy crawlies and checked the mattress only to find beautiful clean fluff)and comfortable. The services were accomodating especially with our busy sightseeing schedule. The central location of the hotel was amazing and navigating to historic sights and even dining and shopping was a cinch. We were also impressed with the reasonable price of the room, especially being in a tourist town. I am planning on coming to VA again and will only book at this hotel. I recommend the Best Western hotel in the Historic District of Williamsburg Va !

I would definitely not recommend this hotel for a few reasons: - When we first checked into our room, there was a pair of someone else's socks in the room. The room looked clean and I didn't want to be "that guest," so I just threw them away. - The second night we were there, someone near us was smoking pot. I have no issue with other people's choices, but it turned our entire hallway into a hotbox and I didn't want my kids breathing that in. When we reported it to the desk, there resolution was to spray air freshener... did not help the drugs going into people's lungs. - The third day, we took the privacy hang-tag off of our door, so it could be cleaned. The room looked clean, but when we sat on the bed, we found a MAGGOT on the comforter! I called the front desk and they changed the sheets, but there was no apology...they pretty much acted like this was normal (which is super alarming). Overall, this hotel had unclean facilities and completely apathetic staff. I will never be returning to this hotel.

The hotel was really clean and nice. The beds were clean and the rooms were very clean. The front desk staff was very nice and very helpful on things to do and places to visit while we were in Williamsburg.

This could have been a 5, but our tv did not work and the internet was super slow. The pool temperature and hot tub temperature was just right for an older person like me. Some may find it too warm, but for me it was just right. Facility is about 2 miles away from Colonial Williamsburg, but there is plenty of free parking at the visitor's center and from there a short walk to the Colonial section of town. We would stay here again. It would be nice if they accepted pets, but I know some do not. Staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast was typical, but did help to get the day started off until lunch. We would stay here again, if we travel without our dog. Oh, almost forgot, the heating/cooling system in our room (200) was too noisy. Was okay if it did not kick on and off all night, but usually it was too loud. By the 3rd night, we got used to it. LOL Pillows could also be bigger, but they were typical for Best Western.

Did not expect this type of hotel. Service, room and the whole experience was great. Could not have asked for anything better. The price was great also. I would go back again to this same hotel on my next trip to the area..

Great location,lots to do close in the area without much travel,tons of choices to eat from ice cream to seafood to steaks everything available. All types of shopping including a super antique store that you can spend hours in. Good trip.

We have stayed at this hotel many times and it is truly a hidden gem in Williamsburg....it is close to everything you might want to see and is clear and comfortable....the breakfast is outstanding and the employees could not be any more helpful and courteous....I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there on our future visits

Super close to Williamsburg. We bought our room with tickets to Busch gardens. This was an amazing package. WELL worth the money and I would do again (actually making plans now for next year). Breakfast was great.

I have stayed twice at the Best Western Historic Area Inn. It is only few-minute drive to Colonial Williamsburg and downtown. It is at a quiet area, the room was clean, spacious, and the bed was really comfortable. I like that there are a microwave and a fridge in the room so that I was able to enjoy food and fruit in my room. There is a coin-laundry which is convenient and affordable! The lobby and breakfast area were clean, bright and inviting. They offer good selection of hot breakfast that was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Every staff I encountered said Hi and smiled to me. I also received a Thank-You note from a housekeeper who received tips from me (what a surprise)! The only issue I encountered was that the air conditioner was too loud. I turned the fan from high to low and it was a bit better. Because the surrounding was very quiet, the air-conditioner was the only source of noise in the room (that is why I deducted one star to the "Room" and "Sleep quality"). All in all, I did enjoy my stays and I will surely come back again.

We booked this directly through Busch Gardens and got a pretty good deal with parks tickets, parking, meal plans and lodging. For what we paid for it, I can deal but here's the thing: it's a 2.5 star location and that's it. It's not modern. It's cleanish. The first floor entry rug smells mildewy. The free breakfast is disappointed. The walls are thin and the guests are loud. If you can afford somewhere better, I recommend it. It's bearable for a quick place to crash between parks.

The hotel was clean pool was nice looking didn't use nice little gym area very close to restaurants about 10-15min drive to Busch Gardens, water park USA and Colonial Williamsburg only issue was seating for the free breakfast the breakfast area is only but so big so get there early or take food back to your room

My wife and I wanted to visit Williamsburg and Jamestown so we chose to stay at this Best Western. Check was easy and the staff were very good. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Housekeeping kept on top of things as well. Breakfast was the usual fare. All in all, a good hotel at a very reasonable price.

this hotel is in a great location from all the sites to see. the resuraunts. are all in walking distance.all the sites you want to see are in 15 minutes away.plus the hotel offers discounts to all the attracions.

The hotel from the outside looks clean and modern but that is just a shell to fool you. The place needs a good scrubbing and they allow folks to run wild all night long in the hallways because that is the culture of certain guests.

The grounds looked trimmed and neat, no trash laying around. Check-in was quick and efficient. Our room was neat and clean. Checkout was super fast. It was a very good place to spend the night plus it's close to all kinds of restaurants.

Every employee we had contact with was friendly and helpful. Desk staff was quick to answer any questions and to fix any issues.Breakfast each morning was plentiful and good tasting. They even managed to make a late night power outage due to an auto accident with a power pole tolerable. Great folks. Will definitely stay again.

Hotel is beautiful and well maintained. It has a nice lobby. Staff was very pleasant. Room was nice. Centrally located as it's a 5 minute drive from Colonial Williamsburg and a 15 minute drive from Busch Gardens.

The lobby was very clean and nicely decorated, the rooms were also clean and in good repair. The pool was nice but jacuzzi seemed to be broken, the water was not heated and the jets didn't work. Breakfast was well stocked and maintained throughout the morning.

We stayed here for a family trip to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA and it was a short driving distance to each (about 10 minutes). The hotel staff was pleasant and very helpful in finding local restaurants when I checked in. The pool was fun for the kids in the evening, but the hot tub needs work. It was down for maintenance the first night and not very hot the rest of our stay. The breakfast was very good and had a lot of options; however, the breakfast area was crowded every day and hard to find space to sit and eat no matter what time you come down. One evening, a bus load of loud and rowdy teens came in around 1:00a, but my wife and staff were able to shut that down quickly. Like any hotel, if you nit-pick you can find many things wrong; however, we had a great stay and we found no major issues. We would stay again.

The hotel is in a convient location which is the only plus. Do not be fooled by the pretty updated lobby. It is easy to put a coat of paint and nice furniture the key is to clean and update on a regular basis so every guest has a clean and memorable experience. Upon entering the room all seemed fine. Throughout our 3 night visit we found a new issue every night. Night one the outlet by the chair does not work. Of course we didnt notice until morning to get our uncharged phone. Night 2 after a long day at Busch Gardens we need to shower. Soap scum, black and pink mold in different areas of the shower. The morning we left my stepdaughter lost her socks in the sheets. No problem, right? Wrong. While moving the sheets it appears to have a turned over bloody stained mattress. As much money as hotels male they can afford to replace a heavily soiled mattress and not flip it over. The beds are not back friendly so do not expect a comfy rest.

Hotel is ok, nothing special. Breakfast area is far to small for all the guests and the staff there is not very helpful. Reception is very customer friendly. We stayed 3 nights. 2 booked through an agent, 1 booked directly. Only for the one night we good rewards points. They accepted our card but only credited one night. Complaints were not really answered.

Not a bad hotel, not great either. The room I stayed in needed some work. Wallpaper was peeling off in the bathroom, sloppy wall repair work on one wall. Very small beds in the room. Another thing I noticed is the dim lighting in the rooms and hallways. Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping room clean every day. Decent breakfast and very hard working food service employees, they kept the breakfast items well stocked and clean. Hallways were very noisy because the hotel room doors are slammed very often during the night. The price is very reasonable for this hotel, I would recommend.

Agent at check in more focused on what his teammate was doing, did not hand me my room key just set it on the counter and I had to ask if it was mine, didn't bother to tell me where my room was until I asked and then seemed inconvenienced. Bathroom door rusty, vanity mirror falling off, carpets dirty, sofa had stains, ceiling texture falling off over desk.

We were there 3 nights over July 4th. We are not familiar with the area and were seeking a hotel that was within walking distance of "downtown", restaurants and shopping. We realized that we were about a 20 minute walk from colonial Williamsburg. We were disappointed...that being said, when the pouring rains came on the 4th we were glad that we were at least that close! The hotel is dated, by this I mean it is rather dark and in particular the bathrooms are very small. Our bed was okay but not exceptional. The carpets in our room had stains,etc. The pool was large and satisfactory. Our stay was okay but I would not recommend it to friends visiting the area.It did not compare to the Best Western we had just left in Lexington VA.

Refrigerator and microwave in each room. *Plenty of hot water in the shower. *Radiator cooled the room off on a hot summer's day/night. *Indoor Swimming Pool & Hot Tub *Fitness Center *A wonderful selection of hot and cold foods for the complimentary breakfast. Eggs, sausage, hash browns, potatoes, cereals, pancakes, toast, etc. The selection changed slightly by the day. The breakfast area is usually crowded. Eat inside or on the outdoor patio. *Washer/Dryer available on several floors for self-service for a fee. *Free Onsite Parking *Convenient location to Colonial Williamsburg and downtown Williamsburg. *Discounted tickets available for an area theme park. Cons: *The only negative thing I have to say about this hotel is the ice machines had trouble keeping up with the demand. Recommendations: *If you plan to go to sleep early, ask for a room away from the pool as it closes at 11 p.m. *Watch for price changes or rebates on rooms on the Best Western website. *Highly recommend staying at this Best Western location.

5 miles to Busch Gardens I think about a mile to Colonial Williamsburg. Lots of restaurants all around. Super clean, friendly staff. Gave best discount to Colonial Williamsburg I could find. Good breakfast. Nice clean indoor pool that had good ventilation so it didn't smell like super chlorine like most indoor pools do with super hot jacuzzi with clean towels.

We stayed one night on our way home and enjoyed the place. Rooms are comfortable and have everything you need for your stay. It is close to shopping and restaurants, one is in walking distance. I would have no problem staying here again.

We stayed here three nights while visiting the historic sites at Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. Hotel was immaculate and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot breakfast was very good, with a selection of hot and cold foods. The price was very reasonable in comparison to other hotels in the area. Plus, it was literally five minutes from the Visitor Center of Colonial Williamsburg. We would definitely stay here, again.

The rooms are definitely dated and could use some upgrades! The biggest issue is the snake sitting in the foyer area as you come into the property. Yes, it probably slithered in from outside, but I can't get the image out of my mind of it still curled up in the corner. I'm terrified to touch or open anything in my room thinking a snake might be around.

Great value for this area. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great for free. Some rooms need a little TLC. Rooms prior to last visit were great, but this one was not. We have always stayed at this property and had no issues. We even invited our family to come along this year and they stayed here as well.

The hotel is nice, rooms clean, fair priced. The only problem I had was the staff. They act like you are in their way. If they come around a corner and almost knock you down, instead of saying, "excuse me," they make you move and keep walking, with their earbuds in. Especially the maids. They dont speak, and look at you like, "get the hell out of my way." The front desk says your room will be ready by a certain time, it isn't. They say they will call you when it is ready, they don't. You, the customer have to keep checking. The people refilling breakfast food make snide comments if you don't get out of their way fast enough to refill the food/drinks. Not that it may have anything to do with the other 100 people standing in line as to why you can't move. Work on customer service and this hotel would be amazing!

Stayed here 3 nights in May while we were visiting surrounding area. Rooms were dated but clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was Great, everything was hot and plenty of it. Would stay here again if in the area.

I don't have one negative thing to say about this hotel and have too many positive things to say, in this limited space, so I will highlight the best. First of all, the staff working behind the front desk were fantastic! Special kudos go to Alexis, who helped in copy maps and buy our tickets for The Williamsburg Historic District. The breakfast staff also did a fantastic job making sure the offerings were kept up, considering there we two bus loads of hungry teenagers and the chaperones!! Finally, the room was nice and clean and the bed COMFORTABLE!

For what we paid for queen double, I expected larger bath. And would have liked earlier breakfast (they started at 7 am), and better coffee/cream choices (we had weak Nespresso coffee machine and powdered cream). Mattresses were hard and linens scratchy. Staff nice tho!

My family and I checked into the BW Plus Historic Area on Friday, 5/24/19 around 8:30pm. Came back today from sightseeing all day to find over 30 ants on table of outside wall. I called the front desk where a very nice toung lady offered offered Raid bug spray. I advised youngest son and husband are asthmatics, so we couldn't use Raid. She said she would make a note for the maintenance man for tomorrow. She came back with vinegar/ water solution, sprayed the area, and cleaned the table where I found most of the ants. I asked to be moved to another room but was advised there were no vacancies. About 15 minutes later, the ants began returning. Husband and I called 6 hotels to move; all sold out. Advised front desk that ants were back and we wanted to move hotels but the 6 we called were booked. Manager/supervisor was called and we were suddenly moved to a new room, one story up and across from old room. I contacted corporate reservations who advised that there were no open rooms within a 25 mile radius, including our hotel. The front desk originally advised we could not be moved to a new room due to no openings. Left voice mail with corporate customer service advising issue and the 1.5 hours it took to work on. Had I not pressed the issue, we'd still be in the same ant infested room, which I have pics and video of. I was very nice about everything. It is a shame that employees aren't allowed to resolve issues unless customers push and push for help, though this issue still isn't resolved. We are on vacation 6 hours away from home with no hotels to move to. Our luggage had sat in the room with the ants all day. I am interested to find out how this will be ultimately be handled and am looking forward to updating TripAdvisor with how BW Plus treats this.

Could NOT have asked for anything more. This hotel had it all. First, the desk people were absolutely so polite and professional. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The hot tub and pool were super nice. We went swimming every night. The breakfast bar was good, though it was crowded most mornings. Still, there was a place to sit and the food was good. Central to EVERYTHING. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

We stayed here because we were planning on visiting the Williamsburg area. The hotel is just 5 minutes away from the historic area. Easy access on and off major Interstate. Staff is cordial and very helpful.

Good central location easy to get to all attractions and restaurants. Rooms are quiet and comfortable at very good rates. Front desk staff are very helpful and pleasant. They offer a very nice breakfast bar that has real tasty food. Very enjoyable and tasty.

This is my family's 3rd year in a row staying at this hotel. We drive 12hrs each way, and I wouldn't travel that long if it wasn't worth it! Perfect location, delicious (free) breakfast every day, great rooms, and even better service!! Whether you're interacting with housekeeping or the reception desk, everyone is extremely courteous, professional, and genuinely happy to see you! The manager offered me a discount last year (not because of anything bad), and honored it over a year later! She made sure that our stay there was perfect! I miss it already!!!

I loved the pool. The room was great, but the lights could of been brighter in the room and in the bathroom. My husband used the spa and the pool and he enjoyed it too. Improvements could be made in the breakfast area because the traffic pattern caused confusion. The eggs did not taste like eggs no matter how they served them. The ice maker on the second floor was out of order the whole week and the soda machine was empty the whole week. The Williamsburg location was perfect.

This is a standard hotel good for families. There's a large indoor pool and a nice breakfast offered daily that ends promptly at 10:00 am. It's also in good promixity to attractions in the area. Cracker Barrel and Golden Corral are within walking distance of the hotel.

My family and I stayed here for 4 nights it was a great stay but we were late arriving due to traffic on 95 and our booking.com reservation expired at 4:00. Vanessa at the front desk was so knowledgeable and helpful to us getting us another reservation in the hotel without having to change rooms. I was very impressed with her skill. The hotel breakfast was better than most and very well attended and kept clean by the hotel staff.

Very convenient location to Busch Gardens. Across the street from the Cracker Barrell. Front desk staff was not very welcoming and very short with any questions. Ice machine was out of order on 2nd floor. Pool water was very cloudy. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices, hot and cold. Lots of seating. Average rooms. I would try a different hotel in the area next trip.

Hotel is clean and standard. The showers are great! Beds are doubles so kinda small. Housekeeping is very good. The pool and hot tub area are okay - nothing amazing but kids had fun. The included breakfast was good as well.

We stayed here just one night while visiting William and Mary college. There is an indoor pool, a small gym, a decent continental buffet breakfast, free parking and wifi and laundry facilities. We didnt have time to use any of the amenities, except breakfast. The room was basic, but quiet and pretty clean. They charge $12 for a roll away cot - dont do it, worst mattress ever and very small. Could only be used for a young child. Overall perfectly fine place to stay.

Spent four nights here over the Spring Break holiday, and though the hotel was fully booked, everything ran smoothly. The staff were all extremely friendly and efficient. Our room was very clean and beds and linens were very comfortable. The breakfast room kept up with a busy time, and there were some offerings that changed each day. We didn't use the indoor pool, but it was bigger than a typical hotel pool and it looked very relaxing. This hotel is in a perfect location for visiting all the historic areas and Busch Gardens. There were many restaurants nearby, but it is in too busy of an area for us to walk to many. We did go to Rocco's Smokehouse which is right out front, and it was very good. We would definitely stay here again!

This was a last minute weekend getaway. We booked the room that day and got a discount for staying 3 nights. Rooms clean, beds comfy, HBO, indoor pool, really good breakfast, great location and the best staff!!! Only cons, the refrigerator did always work and the light bulb at door would flicker at times.

We arrived today, April 15 2019. There was poop in the bathroom grout tile!!!!! They left us in the same room and cleaned the poop. Zero stars for this hotel .Stay away from this hotel!!!!!!! Totally disappointed!

this hotel is very nice off the main road so you don't get outside traffic noise but easy access to everything. The staff was very pleasant and the breakfast had everything you need with different items everyday.

We had a wonderfiul time in Williamsburg tours were great The history is unbelievable. ,the people are very gracious everywhere we went. I would certainly go back.The hotel really made our stay in this lovely town ,because at the end of the day we were exhaused from our long days out in the charming town and we were so happy to get home to our wonderful hotel. Shopping is faulous with over 100 hyndred outlet malls. You can take long scenic drives, they have drive urself tours along miles of roads that are outstanding.Everyone should go to this town once in their lifetime.

I stayed at this hotel on my way to college visits with my high school senior. I was attracted to the price and I am a reward member, but I was also impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. They were all very accomodating and helpful. It was also very convenient to stay here for college visitations as well as go shopping, eat at good restaurants, and do some fun attractions that we did do. I have stayed at this hotel three times and hope to stay more times in the future.

We love staying at Best Western. Never disappointed when I'm there. The rooms are clean, the food is good, and close to all the placed I like to go. The pottery is not far, and the mall right down the street.

We stayed at this location recently and while our room was clean and the staff friendly (the little we saw them) the hotel is desperately in need of an update. The hallways smelled strongly of bug spray (though we saw no evidence of bugs), the carpet is stained due to age, and the windows are clouded with age making the rooms dark and dim. It made it hard to relax, because it just felt so dreary.

The reservation was messed up. Was to have connecting rooms which was confrimed by calling the hotel when reservation was made. Clerk at the front desk was not very nice about it. Told her the name of the person I spoke with and the date and time. Even told her the room numbers I was given that we would be staying in. She told me there was not employee there by that name. Then said oh they are not here anymore.Found a condom wrapper on the bed under decorative covering when preparing for bed. Called the front office and requested they come to the room. The clerk who had checked us in and another young man came. She said where did you find that. I told right where it was that I wasn't touching it. She informed me that she would change the top sheet.. I told her that I wanted the whole bed stripped. She went out the room muttering that wasn't her job. Complained the whole time while they were making the bed that her back hurt. She left the young man to finish the job of putting the pillow cases on. He apologized several times and told us he was on for the night and if we needed him to call. The bed was horrible. I do not recommend staying at this hotel.

The hotel was recently remodeled and was very clean and attractive. Staff were courteous and helpful, and the hot breakfast buffet had a surprising number of offerings. Definitely an excellent value for the price, and we would book here again!

The best thing about this property after staying at several different properties in the Williamsburg area is their customer service. From the time we checked in till we left we felt very welcomed. The staff was very helpful. The swimming area was nice for a winter swim. The breakfast was nice, with bacon, eggs, sausage, etc. just wished they had the biscuits and gravy more than once while we were there. The breakfast area was crowded and this could be an issue during the busy times of the year.They did have trays if you wished to have breakfast in your room. The beds were very comfortable with higher quality bedding as compared to other properties. our room was clean.

The room was moderately priced but I think you get what you paid for. The room is equiped with two double beds instead of two queens, so a family of four should know this beforehand, otherwise you are in for a surprise. The room was not clean in our case like how other people have commented. The furniture and decor was very dated. Our bathtub had a stain that couldn't be washed off. My kids were weary of using the shower. The pipes were also clogged. We were miserable during shower time because the tub wouldnt drain! The maintenance guy did come by and try to fix it, but it couldn't be fixed for the duration of our stay. I gave three star for their hospitality and the swimming pool! It was one of the biggest pool I have seen staying at different hotels, and it was heated during winter time. That was very nice and we had a great time at the pool.

A nice hotel for the price, Best Western is usually not our first choice, but this one offered a nice Hloiday package for stays, tickets to Williamsburg ,and Busch gardens for a reasonable price. We booked 3 rooms as our family was with us. We were very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was, not luxury but nice.

This hotel provided great service, from start to finish. Employees throughout the hotel were friendly and greeted us each time we passed. The room was clean, and the breakfast was good. Overall, it was a great experience.

The hotel and front desk staff are great. The hot tub was wonderful and the pool is warm. Cute little arcade. The rooms were nice and the beds are cozy. The breakfast however had hair in the mixed fruit and a fly flying around in it. The kids would hardly eat any of the food. They thought it was disgusting. If you like hot tea they only had plain Lipton and not in the rooms. The staff in the breakfast area are not very helpful or friendly , but everyone else were wonderful.

Hotel is at very good location. Colonial and Busch garden both attractions are within couple of miles from this location. Resturants @ richmond road are withiin 5 mins. Rooms are clean and neat.. I was in room with kind bed.. bed was good and confirtable. Staff is cooperative. Internet is preety good.. breakfast was good.. but break fast area is too small...you might need to wait to get empty table I stayed in december 22 to 24.. 2018

Helpful, friendly employees; great and tasty all-you-can-eat breakfast options; generally quiet clientele; hotel centrally located but somewhat out of the busiest area. Many amenities like indoor pool, hot tub, computers, fitness room, business center, laundry, vending machines - even fresh cookies at the desk one evening!

Great customer service I look for that when I go out to places from the breakfast to hot tub I felt so relaxed front desk employees were so nice and greeted me my room was on point the cable service was good too had multiple of channels cleanliness was good . I will be returning back to rhis hotel.

Very nice hotel with well kept, clean rooms. Two problems, there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom and when entering the room it is so dark, even with the entry light that my wife walked into the room and promptly slammed right into a low lying table. The entry light does not provide illlumination into the room, being blocked by a half wall. The hot breakfast was excellent with a good selection of hot and cold items.

Clean hotel not far from attractions. Super nice front desk staff and cleaning staff. We stayed two nights. Comfortable size room. Bed was firm for my taste but hubby liked it. Super soft comfy pillows. Breakfast Food was typical but abundant. Great value (although it is November...not much happening here now)

The purpose of a hotel is to come back from sightseeing or traveling to relax and get a good night's rest. Well that did not happen here. We checked in and air conditioner was not working in which we told front desk. We left all day and when we arrived it still had not been fixed. We suffered threw it since we were exhausted from the sightseeing however the beds were the hardest thing we have ever slept on as well. Front desk manger was manager on duty and refused a refund of money. She claimed she could only do half of the bill. Well I have worked in a hotel before and called her out on that. We did not get a refund until I contacted corporate in regards to the unprofessionalism of service and low quality as a diamond select member expects at a plus. Would not recommend and suggest their flag be changed if they can not live up to BW Plus expectations.

Our room was nice even though it was not one that had been remodeled. The room was large and clean. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast area had ample seating, was bright and clean, and the food was good. We knew our room had not been remodeled because were some dents in the furniture and some rust on the bathroom door frame. We had to set the AC a few degrees lower than the desired temperature. The refrigerator whined when the compressor was running. There were not enough electrical outlets to charge all of our electronic devices and plug in my CPAP. The outlets were loose and did not hold the plugs securely. But overall the room was very nice and the hotel is a great bargain.

I was very much disappointed with the room for the price. I was expecting better since it was located in Williamsburg. Room was very, very small as was the bathroom. Pillows very small. Very noisy from doors slamming shut most of the night and the AC unit at the end of the hall was making a constant noise.

Very clean Hotel, Very friendly Staff. Breakfast was wonderful. The Gentleman in charge of it did a wonderful job. Staff called to your room to make sure everything was ok. The cable company switched out remotes and the staff made sure everyones worked

This site was a pleasure to stay with! Check in and check out was quick and the front desk receptionist was lively and nice! Its very clean and kept up rel nicely! I recommend this hotel to any and everyone!

I coordinated a reunion for 28 people through events coordinator Kandi Shaw. She was very helpful with details, my friends were all happy with their stay, and the staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel is in an excellent location for visiting the Historic Triangle, with easy parking and nearby restaurants. The breakfast was good, and we were allowed to use the breakfast area in the evenings as a kind of lounge for getting together. There is also a nice patio adjoining the pool.

This is my favorite place to stay in Williamsburg due to it's central location which makes it easy to get anywhere. I usually get lost in Williamsburg but not when I stay here. I love the late pool hours until 11 pm and the hot tub which is always hot temperature which is great after a day of touring and shopping. I also like the late breakfast hours until 10 am even during the week so since I stay up late I can sleep in some and still enjoy a good breakfast. The bedding is great. The staff is so nice and pleasant every time I pas them in the hotel. I stayed using the multi-stay promotion and you can't beat this price for the amenities and cleanliness of this hotel.

I loved the ease of access to the hotel, plenty of parking on the property & within walking distance of several good restaurants, (chains and local spots - Ask the staff about the best places to go, they're super knowledgable). The staff was super friendly & the beds were comfy! Just be sure to keep an eye on the plug to the refrigerator, we accidently pulled it out thinking it was the coffee maker & our beverages were warm when we got back from golf.. not a good thing :-)

I have stayed at this hotel four times now, and I will continue to book this hotel each time I visit Williamsburg. The rooms are always clean, the staff is always very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast/pool/etc is nice also.

We stayed 3 nights using a $49/nt Groupon. What a great deal! Staff were friendly and very helpful. Shenelle kept our room spotless. The hotel is in the process of renovations and everything looks fantastic so far. The breakfast area is huge and looks upscale with white leather seating. The continental breakfast serves a variety of hot and cold food and was wonderful. Our room was nicely appointed and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet and convenient location. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I have a very short criteria for rating a hotel: 1) Do I feel safe? Yes. 2) Are the rooms and other facilities clean? Yes. 3) Is the bed comfortable? Yes. 4) Is the staff friendly and helpful. YES. This hotel met all the criteria and then some. We had a great stay.

My favorite part about this hotel is the pool is open until 11pm so even after you do all your sightseeing you still have time to enjoy the pool and it makes the kids extremely happy to still get to swim. The hotel is suitable and the staff was friendly. It is a great location to Colonial Williamsburg and there are a couple restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you need somewhere nice but affordable.

My friend and I decided on a quick trip to Williamsburg to shop the outlets and found this hotel on trip advisor. While the rooms were clean and the beds were nice, the corridors were hot and uncomfortable. This was ok but would not want to stay more than 1 night.

This BW location is probably the best I have stayed in in a long time. All the rooms were clean, a little outdated, but went with the colonial area vibe. The hotel is super close to the Colonial Pkwy and Williamsburg sights. Restaurants nearby are great, I wish we stayed for more than one night. This BW location made me sign up to be a BW Rewards Member and I will gladly use the program! Great job guys ??

Great hotel experience. Chlorine was a little high in the jacuzzi or my eyes just may be a little sensitive but they were watering constantly. Still great nonetheless. Front desk staff was super knowledgeable about the area when I first arrived and even provided coupons. My only complaint is with housekeeping, I called the front desk prior to my scheduled checkout to request a later time and that requested was granted and also assured hat housekeeping would be notified. Not really sure what happened but housekeeping harassed me the entire time I was resting until I checked out. Other than that, everything was good.

My stay here at this location was absolutely an amazing experience. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful for all my needs. The breakfast was very good, and the location is excellent. The room had all the amenities that you could ask for. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel.

This hotel was in a convenient location, free parking, clean room, nice breakfast spread, and good service all for a reasonable price. I was shock to get all those good qualities in one hotel for a lower price hotel. I haven't stayed at a Best Western in decades but it is now on my families list of places to stay:)

I love this place..Is always nice and clean staff our very friendly..Breakfast is the best breakfast I ever had at a hotel.. The indoor pool is a plus rainy days you just can go and relax..There's tables and chairs plus towels you can use..

Really enjoyed staying here. Folks were wonderful, room comfortable, clean and great location to Williamsburg everyday.The breakfast in the mornings were good and there was always plenty of food. Very impressed with all the hotel staff.

We booked this hotel because of three things. Location, price and it had an indoor swimming pool. The hotel is centrally located, making it easy to get to the attractions. It had a fairly large parking lot, so finding parking wasn't an issue. The rooms were comfortable and clean, but a bit outdated. We had a problem with the shower curtain...it was too short, so water kept escaping onto the bathroom floor. However, the hotel staff was able to locate a slightly longer curtain and that remedied the problem. There is a sitdown, hot breakfast, which wasn't bad at all. However, they did keep running out of items and it took time to replenish the buffet. The dining area was extremely small for the amount of people eating breakfast at any given time. But we didn't have to wait too long to get a table as the turnaround was smooth. But expect a long line waiting to get to the breakfast items. My biggest problem was the hotel was kind of old (circa 1970's), which was apparent as you walked throught the hotel's hallways. But that once you were in the room, that didn't matter much. I would stay here again.

Rooms needs updating but the stay was fine. My kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Wifi was a bit slow but I'm sure that's because everyone was on it . Breakfast was also good. Staff was great throughout my stay

Marus was super helpful in helping me resolve room rates for a super reasonable rate. I am in the Army and I highly recommend this place for active duty and veterans for their military rates. I will be looking at this place again whenever I visit Williamsburg or Busch Gardens.

Have to say this is one on the best hotels we have stayed at on vacation. The rooms are clean and they have the best hotel pillows ever. This is the first time I haven't had to fold the pillows in 1/2 to get comfortable. All of the staff members are very nice and helpful. The pool and exercise rooms were clean and complimentary breakfast is excellant. Kudos to all the staff members.

Room was clean and comfortable. Elevators did not work. Got stuck in one elevator, scary experience. Would not want to stay at this hotel again because of the lack of working elevators. I was on the 4th floor and took the stairs for the remainder of my trip.

We made a 7 hours trip just to find out that what this people shows in the pictures as a two queen bed room was really a two full size bed for the price of a double queen room. After we spoke to the front desk the only response we had was that "that's what we have as queen bed and you can just cancel and get another hotel". Be aware cause people can reserve here based on pictures and information that are not real

Traveling with my family to Williamsburg brought us to the Best Western Plus on Bypass road. We booked through my Best Western account. We stayed two nights and used two rooms for our group of five. The queen size beds were luxuriously comfortable and they honored our request of adjoining rooms. The rooms were clean, the pool and hot tub were rejuvenating. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was self serve but hot and savory. Finding the hotel was easy, and it was centrally located to all nearby attractions. Parking was close and there were plenty of spots. The price was perfect and a real bargain...with such a family friendly place it was easy to meet new people and share stories and get ideas to enhance our vacation. I would recommend this hotel always...we have had great success using Best Western in the past and this was no exception.

The only thing I can think that we didn't like was the pool seemed to be over chlorinated. Our eyes were burning without even getting in. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and location was great! Breakfast was good also!

The hotel was great, within a few minutes of the attractions. It was clean, updated, the breakfast was excellent. We have 2 teenage boys and they had plenty to eat with a good variety (cereal, waffles, eggs, bacon or sausage, French toast or hash browns, pastries, fruit etc.)

I booked this hotel after reading the reviews here. We checked in and went to our room and immediately noticed the smell. It was very damp and musty smelling. The A/C was running and never stopped. It was set on 70. The room was very run down as was most of the hotel with the exception of the lobby. We tried to make due but after being in the room for awhile I knew it wasn't going to work. I was able to cancel the remainder of our reservation and move to a different hotel but couldn't find anything for the first night. So we had to stay. My 5 year old was sleeping on the pull out couch and the mattress was covered in plastic so every move she made was so loud. She was so uncomfortable that she ended up in our bed, which was also uncomfortable. There were doors slamming up and down the hallway until 4 a.m. It was one of the worst hotel stays I've had. The only reason I rated this hotel poor instead of terrible is the staff. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and tried their best to make things right.

So my husband all of a sudden had 3 days in a row off from work. 2 if those days were my days off; which never happens. So Sunday morning I'm up at 3am trying to find a B&B for Sunday, Mon and Tues, lol. I wanted a REAL BREAKFAST, hot tub, fitness center and indoor pool because it was due to rain heavily those days; all for less than $130/night. No B&B offered that, but the Best Western Plus did! Comfortable and clean room. New furniture. The extra large jetted tub (3 people easily ??) could use some attention to detail. The filter and one of the Jets showed signs of yuck. But the shower pressure and hot water and tub drainage was perfect. The indoor pool and separate hot tub were just what the doctor ordered. With a customer controlled, alternating 5 minute (20 minutes total) bubble timer. It's the only pool so kids were a plenty. The buffet breakfast was delicious and the hot food changed day to day. That was a nice touch! Newspapers were available at breakfast. Coffee and tea were available all day. The fitness center had a treadmill, elliptical, bicycle, dumbbells, adjustable bench, towels, TV, and clock and scale that needed to be replaced. The staff were simply helpful. However Miss Lay, was exceptionally helpful and pleasant! They offer nicely discounted Busch Gardens tickets. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We try to visit many different places to keep our lives interesting so we may not return. But believe me when I say that this is a great place to go and return to! Gentle suggestions: Put a clock on 1st floor elevator and in pool area. Change battery in clock in the gym. Replace the scale in the gym. Switch the healthier snack machine with the junk food machine. It isn't even noticable behind the tree and laundry machines. Clean the filter in the bathroom tub. Set aside pool/hot tub hours just for adults. Give Miss Lay our sincere gratitude.

Best Western Plus hotels promise rewarding style and contemporary design, and going beyond the expected. Well, this one doesn't. I'd still stay there is in the Williamsburg area, because I really like the BW brand, and have always had good experiences there. But this one is getting a bit shabby on the inside, and could use some upgrades especially in the public areas. The breakfast area is small, and it is very difficult to maneuver through there in the morning, but I DO appreciate the complimentary breakfast very much. Now that said, I think the rooms here are quiet, I can get the curtains to close and block out the morning sunshine if I want to, the beds are comfortable, pillows aren't bad, all the furniture was in good shape, and most of all... the room was clean. The location is pretty good, and there are restaurants all along the road there, close to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg, and there is plenty of parking. But you know what? The price is right. You can stay here for about a hundred bucks or so per night, and you're getting a pretty good deal at that price.

My family just vacationed in Williamsburg and I could not be happier that I selected the Best Western Plus for our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, we had plenty of space for the 4 of us, extra pillows on the bed, we had a fridge and microwave, and the bathroom was spacious. Plus an indoor pool. The staff were all very friendly and helpful from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast staff. Speaking of breakfast...Delicious!!! There were the standard continental breakfast items (bagels, muffins, toast), there was fruit, oatmeal and cereal but then there was also scrambled eggs every day and each day there was a meat (bacon, sausage or both) and carb (tater tots, pancakes, french toast sticks). The staff was constantly refilling everything and quick to ask if there was anything you needed or anything else that they could get you. And, breakfast didn't end until 10am for those who wanted to sleep in a little more. We were close to Colonial Williamsburg, only 15-20 minutes from Busch Gardens and Water Country, there was a mini golf that we walked to, lots of restaurants around (some walkable), and kmart right across the street for anything else that you need.

Nice, clean, and friendly staff at this hotel. Very convenient location with restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast selection is great and tasty. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Will stay there again if in the area.

The room was very nice, spacious and clean. Check in was a breeze. We had booked the hotel about 20 minutes prior to our arrival and they had everything ready and waiting at the desk!!!! Close to all major attractions and many restaurants to choose from within walking distance. Overall a great value for the money!

This was one of the best hotel stays I ever had. Staff was outstanding and helpful. They had suggestions on local places to eat and what to avoid the location of local shopping. I could not have been any happier with the staff very friendly and polite. The hotel it self was very clean pool area was well kept. The breakfast in the morning was a great start for the day just about everything you could ask for.

We were surprised at how fantastic our stay was in this hotel. Everyone was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. A special "shout out" to Elegria and Tye! The breakfast each morning was delicious! This is definitely how a hotel should be run!

We love visiting Colonial Williamsburg and stayed in many hotels in the area. Best Western is now a serious contender on our list. Very comfortable room, plenty of pillows, towels etc. All comforts of home. Welcoming reception, nice breakfast room, good food. Excellent location to visit town and Colonial area. Many restaurants nearby. Hotel accessible from side streets to avoid merging with busy traffic.

I had a short one day stay and everything was great. The rates are very good, the staff were excellent, the room was clean and breakfast was nice. I actually forgot a shirt in my room and the staff went above and beyond to not only locate it, but send it to me.

The staff was super friendly, the rooms a bit dated, The beds were old and uncomfortable in my opinion. The lobby was remodeled but the hallway carpets were quite dirty. It was a cheaper rate than most in the area or so I thought. While the price may be lower there are 5 different taxes added to your bill. The other hotels in the area may do the same, but beware of the price it may be deceiving. For 4 nights I paid about $75 in taxes which seems high to me. It averaged to $129 a night which didn't seem worth it in the end. The staff was the best thing about the hotel.

We were driving back to Maryland from a mountain vacation in North Carolina and decided to stop here. Glad we did. Clean rooms, nice mattress, no hassles, great breakfast. Next time in Williamsburg will stay here again. Thanks for everything!

Staying at this hotel was fabulous. We received excellent service and the breakfast was great. The rooms were very clean and nice. All the staff were wonderful and the lobby was very inviting. I would definately stay there again.

The hotel is located within a mile of colonial Williamsburg and has recently undergone major improvements. The rooms are clean and spacious. The front desk is efficient, friendly, and helpful (special shout out to Christine) and the price is reasonable.

Good family visit. Bed not bad, pillows leave room for improvement. Breakfast was good bacon was too crispy. Eggs were good. Coffee was OK. Cracker barrel is close. refrigerator died but was replaced the next day with one that worked well but was quite noisy.

This is a great place to stay. It is well located for the area and has lots of parking. Our room was large and the bathroom had a jetted tub. Plenty of hot water and the water pressure was excellent. Ice and vending was well located on our floor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Even though the address is on Bypass Road, the hotel faces a different road so your GPS may have problems getting you to the hotel.

This hotel was amazing. We went to Williamsburg as a relaxation getaway with our kids. This was a great hotel. Clean rooms, great breakfast and a great price!!! I would definitely stay here again. My little ones loved the pool. It was clean and a great temperature.

I liked everything we had a great time. The staff was nice and check inn was fast and so was check out.If you are looking for a quick nice get away this is the place, right in the middle of everything.

This hotel was one of the best we have stayed at recently. The first indication that it would be a great stay was the warm welcome from Vanessa, she even got us checked in a little early. The room was spotless, bathroom a bit small but very clean. We had no problem with the pool or hot tub, both functioned and clean. The best part of our stay was breakfast, and the wonderful PC (Prie). He was funny, friendly, and made the best bacon ever ;) The area was full of restaurants, and historical area very close by car. We got a great deal for the week, and would happily stay again.

Historically bad experience. Surly, rude staff including the desk manager. Unhelpful, unpleasant, and unapologetic. Keys malfunctioned requiring 3 trips to the desk; got an attitude when I asked for maintenance or someone to ensure we could get in room. Breakfast area could not accommodate number of guests and staff could not keep up. Rate included “free breakfast” which we never got; fortunately good options nearby, but not free!

I rate this hotel 4 stars on account that my family had a good time, and I had some very sweet employees give some Great customer service. The front desk girls; Regina, Tye, and Alexis were so accommodating and kind. The service at breakfast was also very good. Access to coffee 24/7 was a huge plus for me. (I live off the stuff). The pool was very mediocre. It was dirty around the rim of the pool, the water was cloudy and greenish. My kids didn't care at all. The last day there was so much chlorine my eyes burned. My daughter swallowed some water and almost vomited. The jets in the jacuzzi only worked on 1 side. I sat on the working side.

Stayed here over Easter weekend and had a great stay. Breakfast was hot and plentiful, pool was warm and the price was 1/2 the price of others in the area that aren't as clean. Staff at this hotel are some of the nicest and most helpful we've come across in a small hotel like this. Very helpful when we had to move our reservation back 1 day because of a stomach bug with the kids and then worked with us when we needed to check out early to get on the road ahead of a snowstorm at home. We've tried other hotels in the region, but none are ever as clean, comfortable, safe and friendly as this Best Western. Location is perfect for going to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens or just to eat. Number of pretty good restaurants you could walk to and a K-mart across the street if you forget anything.

It's an average hotel. It was fine. Nothing to really write about. Clean rooms. The pool was highly chlorinated so bring goggles. The free breakfast was good and saved us time in the morning. Close drive to everything.

You'll have access to all the best parts of Williamsburg staying at this hotel. The rooms are spacious and well serviced, parking is plentiful and the staff will help in any way that they can. Difficult to find any negative but maybe the hotel is a little dated, but it's a great value place to stay.

I hate to leave negative reviews but the issues were serious enough to cause us to cut our vacation short by one night, so here is my brutally honest review: THE GOODS: The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. I especially give a shout out to the very friendly breakfast lady. The housekeeping staff clearly did an excellent job. The rooms were very clean. The front desk folks were helpful when we asked to be moved due to noise issues. The location is great. THE BADS: The main "bad" seems to be the most important thing...the beds...They were beyond HORRIBLE. I'm not terribly picky, but this bed was so worn out that it felt like I was on a piece of cardboard placed on top of some trash bags. It had the general shape of a taco so you always rolled to the center. It made such loud noise anytime I moved that it woke my kids up. I swapped to the other bed the second night and it was only marginally better--no taco shape but still horribly worn out cardboard feel. Beds seem pretty central to a hotel operation, so this NEEDS attention. The other issue was the acoustically live halls and walls/doors that seem to not stop sound at all. The kids in the hall until well after midnight slamming doors on those door latches was enough to drive a person to drink. I know the people are beyond the control of the management, but the doors could be made to not rock the whole building when the close. Another small thing, the breakfast room chairs looked nice but seem to have no structural bottoms under the cushions, I thought I was going to fall through the center in every chair I sat in. Again, I hate to leave such a negative review, but the hotel needs to address the issues it can. We typically love BWs and this one just needs some TLC. The staff was great but the facility wasn't.

We had a quick trip to Williamsburg and enjoyed Busch Gardens for all of the pass holders. The hotel was clean and our room was as well. All of the staff were amazing. We are looking forward to a longer trip this summer.

I was in town for my wedding and had a few members of my family from out of town that was staying, as well. The staff were great & cheerful at all times of the day, (and there were some odd hours I was running around), but someone always greeted me by name in the lobby & checked to make sure I had everything I needed, including a late check-out to gather our things from the week long stay. They went above and beyond to assist in their part of making my wedding the best day of my life.

They ought to have disclosed on their site that this is heavily under construction. The second floor was full of holes in the ceiling and the rooms - had to be moved into another because of cleanliness issues- were both dirty. We have a two year old and do not like bringing her around old hotels under construction- never know what is coming out of the walls or ceilings. The lobby has been renovated, and is nice, however the rooms were dirty. Check in took an hour. Breakfast was not particularly edible so we left without eating. We only stayed 10 hours and ended up moving to another hotel for the following 5 nights. We are diamond members who found this stay most uncomfortable and unsatisfactory.

We arrived after a long drive from DC. Tired and hungry, I was welcomed by Tai (pronounced Tie, spelling unknown.). She was smiling and welcoming in her greeting. She checked me in lickety-split and gave me a quiet room and directions to a nearby food purveyor, My son and I returned with our food and said goodnight. She told me that if I had any problems with my room, she'd help us out with that. I thought she might be off shift in the morning when we came for breakfast, but with a warm assurance, she told me she'd be here in the morning. In the morning, I arrived a bit before the breakfast was displayed because we had to be at soccer at 7:10. She and the gentleman cooking the hot food gave me some quick and ready foods to go and made sure we didn't leave hungry. I soon found out that Tai had a difficult day ahead. She touched my heart. Despite her personal challenge, she put that all aside and managed to make me feel right at home. She's a keeper, BWP!! She deserves a raise. As for the hotel, the lobby is attractive, the elevator is in a weird place, the pool is a bonus, the beds could have been a little more comfortable, but the room was clean, and the cleaning staff was really lovely. The toilet in 329 needed some attention, but the maintenance department was working on that when we left. When we returned from the game, breakfast was over, but it had a mixture of hot food, fruit, cereal and oatmeal. Seemed to cover all the staples. The surrounding area has all the usual stores nearby, CVS, Aldi, 7-11 and not too far away is a really nice retail shopping center. Unless you're a stickler for a perfect bed, you'll be pleased with your stay.

We stayed for 3 days at this hotel while visiting Colonial Williamsburg plus three other area attractions. We were very pleased with our room and the hotel. The service was good and the desk was very accommodating. Breakfast was better than continental and although busy at times, it was workable. Cracker Barrel is right across the street and there are several restaurants in the area. We would stay here again.

Stayed in this beautiful hotel while visiting christmastown in Busch gardens, VA. It;s a nice, budget friendly hotel. Room was clean, staff was friendly. Breakfast was OK. Indoor pool was great with late timings; so that you can enjoy your time in hot pool after long day's visit to Busch Gardens.

This was an amazing Xmas weekend. Great hotel, clean with very friendly staff. Convenient location to Busch Gardens which was part of our room package which was unbelievably such a great price! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

Rooms were very nice and staff very friendly. Breakfast was OK could have more fresh fruit available. I missed my banana every morning. There could have been more of a variety each morning instead of the same thing.

My husband and I decided to take a three-night package to Williamsburg the day after Christmas to see the historical area and Christmas Town at Busch Gardens. The package offered this Best Western as one of the options, and we chose it for the great value and convenience of all the locations we wanted to see, including restaurants and shopping. We were pleased with overall quality and experience at this hotel. The first night we noticed the heat was not blowing warm air but we were tired, turned up the thermostat and went to bed without reporting the problem. In the morning it was still blowing cold air. We didn't report it until we returned the next evening and then it was too late for a maintenance person to check. The staff quickly offered to change our room which we accepted and it was conveniently across the hallway. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would most likely stay here again.

We have visited this Best Western on several occasions. It has a convenient location near the historic area (Busch Gardens is not too far away as well). The rooms are clean, the prices reasonable and the breakfast is nice as well. Service people are very helpful.

I wanted to take my boyfriend to Williamsburg and Busch Gardens for his birthday, and I figured I'd find a cheap hotel somewhere nearby. I got two nights in a room with a king bed PLUS two tickets to the Busch Gardens for under $200 through this hotel, so when we pulled up to a beautiful hotel with a modern entrance and lobby, I almost thought we were in the wrong spot. I've always thought of Best Westerns as cheap and outdated, but this place was anything but. The room was great, and I was surprised at how many amenities there were. It's less than 15 minutes from either the park or downtown Williamsburg, and there are plenty of options for a causal meal within a few blocks of the hotel. We will definetly stay here if we go back!

We really enjoyed the stay. The employees are very professional and courteous. The location is as close to everything you will need while you are away from home. I would definitely recommend Best Western to all I meet.

This hotel was nice and the staff were friendly! The room was clean but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. This should be an upgrade for the company. Overall I would stay again but for a short trip.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff. Very accommodating. Room was nice, no frills but that's ok, we only sleep there. Very clean, but lumpy bed. Breakfast was good but on Sunday they ran out of food by 9 am. They also need more space to dine, of course people were also being very leisurely.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Historic Area Inn, Williamsburg, during a trip to Busch Gardens for the special event Christmas town. We picked this hotel because we are Best Western Rewards Members, and they offered King size beds that works for me, and my wife and 3 yr old. The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly and accommodating

The staff was ok, and the pool and pool area seemed to be taken care pretty well, the room was old and kinda falling apart, the bathroom was pretty bad, the tiles seemed to be barely hanging on. I would not recomend this Hotel if you have small children because the floors/carpet was disgusting.

The hotel is very clean and the personnel were very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the sheets did not come off the bed while we slept. The breakfast was very good, with enough room to accommodate many guests at the same time. The major issue I had was that the shower curtain was too short for the tub and water filled the floor, no matter how many towels you put down. They need a shower curtain that is 3" longer. Wi-Fi worked great. Plenty of parking. 17 minutes from Busch Gardens. One minor flaw--the coffee is weak.

My family and I stayed 2 nights, while visiting Christmas Town at Busch Gardens, and were pleasantly surprised at the service and quality we received! The hotel's location is very central to all Williamsburg attractions. The front desk staff were a welcoming pleasure. Always a smile on their faces and a hello as you pass through the lobby. This is the type of service usually only found at higher end hotels and resorts. ALL employees we encountered were extremely polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and nicely appointed. Bathrooms are small but functional. The only thing that kept this hotel from being rated a 5 was the lack of ventilation fan in the bathroom. And the congestion at breakfast. Small bathrooms really need something to help dissipate steam after a shower. A word of warning, the breakfast area seats approximately 32 and there are times when ALL seats are full. I recommend being there at 7:00 am or 9:30 close to closing time. Other than these small inconveniences, everything was great at this location. To make everything even better was the price we paid! I found a deal on Groupon for $49 a night, a Friday and Saturday night stay. So the entire stay only cost us $130 including taxes. I was afraid we'd be put in the basement by going through Groupon, but that was not the case at all. We stayed in a room with a very nice king size bed and everything we needed to be happy. Finally, the indoor pool and jacuzzi were very clean and quite large! I fully recommend this property to anyone looking for a very comfortable stay, with friendly competent service, in a good location, and at a great price.

Breakfast area had many options but it felt congested with people at most times. Good food though. Try to avoid first floor rooms, if possible, as hallway traffic from employees and other guests got noticeably and disturbingly loud around 7:30 AM every morning. Mattress was dated and stiff and bathroom felt a little worn and dated. Water pressure was non-existent and toiletries were replaced once during a three night stay. Bath towels felt older and the carpets in the room were kinda dirty. The lady at check-in was less than friendly, to say the least, on the evening of 12/12/17. An employee was blaring loud rap music from their car on 12/15/17 that was vibrating the windows of the first floor rooms. Would stay here again, as it is reasonably priced, decent, and close to downtown, but would definitely suggest avoiding the first floor rooms. With a few easy improvements this would be a very good hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel many times and it has always exceeded our expectations.....it is clean and in a great area to visit all the Williamsburg attractions....the staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good....we will continue to stay at this hotel

The rooms were large, the TV and other minor things were not working in my original room. I was patient and waited with the facilities manager to fix it but it was a cable issue. He helped to get me moved into another room and Maryann from housekeeping was a doll. So accommodating and great staff that go out of their way to help and make you feel comfortable. Breakfast was ok, basic Danishes, powder eggs, canned fruit, and cereal.

Great price, great location to all attractions, shopping and dining. Lots of choices at the complimentary breakfast. The hotel is well appointed, clean and the holiday decorations were beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. I have stayed here numerous times in the past and this hotel will remain my go to for trips to Williamsburg. Convenient to the historic area, William & Mary, shopping, restaurants and Busch Gardens.

This evening someone was able to open my room while I was sleeping. Fortunately, I had used the latch on my room and they did not gain access as I was inside. However, they did manage to open the door which had been double locked. Calling the front desk, I was told that there had been a mistake. You can imagine how safe I now feel knowing that keys to rooms are indiscriminately issued. Ironically today, I was out all morning and returned midafternoon to find my room had never been cleaned. It was never serviced today. Cheap prices, but with management making these kinds of mistakes, you might be better off somewhere else in Williamsburg.

Stayed at the BW Plus Historic for the Grand Illumination celebration held in colonial Williamsburg . The hotel staff was courteous, the rooms were clean and well appointed. We enjoyed the microwave and small fridge. The bed was comfortable and a surplus of pillows were provided ( nice touch ) The pool was nice and we took advantage of the hot tub after days of much walking . Only negatives were slow elevators, and subpar complimentary breakfast, but hey it was complimentary . Second time staying here, and certainly would not hesitate choosing for future visits to area. Extremely convenient to old town Williamsburg, close to Busch Gardens and Yankee Candle and many restaurants .

Good location, nice service and good quality. Strongly recommend to those planning to visit Williamsburg in near future. From this hotel, most of tourism sites can be reached easily. My family stayed 3 nights and we all felt very satisfied.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and everything was in working order. The only complaint I had was that the bed was not very comfortable and the mattress cover bunched up under the fitted sheet every time I turned over causing my sleep to be interrupted frequently to smooth it out.

When we checked in the man behind the desk was busy on his cell phone, I got the impression I was bothering him. Whe we got to the room the heat didn't work. I called and he said wait a half an hour if it doesn't work stop down for a new room. When I went down he said Lucky you I have another room...never apologized or offered to help. The heat in the next room wasn't exactly warm either. Not sure what is up but never had trouble with heat before. Breakfast was ok..toasters didn't work and the coffee was from a machine and was horrible.

The hotel was ok- nothing spectacular. The biggest problem was the breakfast area. The room was very tight and not much room to move. When you went through the line, you would have to turn back and go the way you came. All along you are running into people who are waiting for toast or bagels, or just refills on food. You had to squeeze by everyone. Perhaps it was just a busy weekend as there was a soccer tournament in the area. That just made breakfast even worse.

This value for money property is in the hotel/restaurant area .It has one of the nicest breakfast rooms I've seen at a BW property -the lobby area is attractive and the staff polite. My room and that of friends had all the necessary items but looked very much in need of a refreshment -it was clean but somewhat depressing ,as was the dated bathroom.

Stayed here for 3 nights over Thanksgiving. Check in was easy but the man behind the desk was clearly bored and it showed. Our room was REALLY HOT when we got there, but thermostat was set to 67. We turned it off since it was certainly not 67. The next morning, we mentioned it to the desk staff and also told them we would need more than the 2 bath towels that we were provided. We left for the day and upon returning, went to the pool. It was crowded and nobody had pool towels. No towels in the pool area towel spot. We let the front desk know and the woman behind the desk seemed quite irritated. While at the pool, I overheard that others had let her know, earlier, too. About 30 minutes later, she came into the pool area and emptied the used towel bin. She informed another guest she would have to launder them and then dry them, and it would be a while. Meanwhile, I grabbed a towel from my room to bring down. We still had just the two. The same woman informed my boyfriend that we are not to use the room towels at the pool. I'm a middle aged woman and will not be moving about the hotel in my swim suit! As it was, the floors and elevators were soaked due to others drip drying on the way to their rooms. She was scolding my boyfriend and other guests for using room towels. We left and went back to the room, but now we were down one towel, leaving us with just one. We asked for more again. The next day, we returned to the pool, but brought last room towel since housekeeping didn't give us any others on the new day. Housekeeping didn't restock our room towels, so we complained again. Sure enough, there were no towels at the pool and others were talking about how they didn't have any in their room. I realize that it was a holiday, but they should have been prepared. Since they weren't, there was no reason for the night desk woman to have taken any attitude with the guests. The man behind the counter didn't seem phased by any of this, but the woman behind the desk certainly did and was unpleasant. In contrast, the morning desk staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel garbage cans were overflowing, the room wasn't cleaned well, and certainly wasn't restocked in the bathroom. No new shampoo, towels, etc. (all things we were using). I do feel for the fact that people are working on a holiday, but since they are, they should try and make the experience of their guests welcoming. In this case, the evening desk staff most definitely did not. I do come to Williamsburg a few times a year. I was so disappointed with my experience here. There are many other options close by, probably cleaner and friendlier.

Stayed here while going to Busch Gardens, clean room and overall a good hotel for the money. The location is good for all the Williamsburg sites. Staff was friendly and no issues with check in, the indoor pool is well kept up as well.

Every thing was excellent. Loved Colonial Williamsburg. Best Western was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was polite and very helpful.They made excellent recommendation for eating and gave very good directions,

A bunch of us head to Williamsburg every year in October to get our golf fix. This is the first time I've stayed at the Best Western. Found it to be a very good value. The room was clean and comfortable. Had a mini fridge and microwave. Good water pressure and hot water supply. The only downside was poor exhaust in the bathroom. It really steamed up when showering. Had a very nice breakfast bar area. One of the cleanest I've ever seen! The staff does a great job of keeping the area clean and stocked. Sadly didn't see anyone leaving any tippage! C'mon people! The property is in a great location, a number of good eating/drinking options within an easy walk! See you next October!

The stay at this hotel was just great. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The free breakfast was very good. A nice variety. I will come back again. It across the street from Cracker Barrel and K Mart.

we had a great time at best western plus inn,williamsburg,virgina.the sauna tube was great.every nite.the breakfast was great what a way to start out a day the staff was very nice to us.We just had a great time there for three nites.

My wife and I spent three nights in Williamsburg on a circle tour of Virginia and DC. The hotel was convenient to restaurants and to the Historic area. The rooms were very nice and the staff and breakfasts were good. We enjoyed the Best Western Plus and would stay there again. The stay was a good value. Bruce B

We got this hotel through Groupon. We stayed here to go to Bush Gardens. Unfriendly staff, dirty hotel, we got stuck in elevator with children, breakfast staff were rude and hair should be pulled back when working around food. We killed a huge roach in our room. Let's just say you get what you pay for!

We were very happy with all aspects and measures of quality during our stay. The only easily reperable problem was the sub-standard quality of seats in the dining room. The seat cushions provide almost no cushioning, as the thin, cushioned upholstery sinks into the seat well, and one's thighs uncomfortably press against thighs. Once fixed, the hotel will be a pleasure in all other respects.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at your hotel. We found the staff to be most pleasant and very helpful. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfy. We enjoyed relaxing in our room after a busy day visiting Williamsburg and surrounding attractions.

This hotel was adequate but a little dated. The light switches etc are really outdated. I will commend them on the linen. It was very clean and upon inspection of entire bed it was basically brand new. The breakfast was pretty good. I went down to breakfast about 1030 and it was basically gone. I feel they should do a better job keeping that replenished for late risers. Overall, it was pleasant and the staff are really nice. I would recommend this location after updates are made.

Hotel itself is getting frumpy but was clean and quiet. Great choices for breakfast and the lady working it was really hustling. Beds and pillows were comfortable but room was small as was the bathroom. Good place to stay and very convenient.

Beware of staying at this hotel! The state of our room is shabby. Everything is dirty. There was even a tuft of hair in the bed as we moved in. A sock of a former guest was laying on the floor. At 8 am the housekeeping stated knocking at our door, although we had put the “Don't disturb”-sign. The housekeeping repeated knocking and calling for coming in 5 times in the next 90 minutes. As we left the room for our sight-seeing tour at 11am, we took in the “Don't disturb”-sign. As we came back in the evening, we found our room not made! The housekeeping just had helped itself putting the “Don't dusturb”-sign at our door. We managed to get new towels from the friendly and helpfull front desk employee. We never stayed at a US hotel tolerating such behavior of its houskeeping. The room is humid, as the bathroom has no air installation and the small window of the room cannot be opened. Therefore, the room smells bad. Whatever we brought into our room now also smells bad. We never stayed at a hotel this shabby in the US. We will report to our travel agency.

Room was great for the price. Plenty of choices close by for food and drink. The location was perfect for getting to the visitor center, Colonial Williamsburg, and various other sights. I was also impressed by how quiet the room was.

We came to visit my sister who is at grad school at WandM. The staff was awesome, the property was beautiful, a good walk, but walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. As a Best Western employee I was impressed by the caringness of the staff.

This BW has a great location making it quick and easy to get to both the Premium Outlets along with Colonial Williamsburg. I especially love the pool and hot tub which are both very big and stay open until 11 pm each night which makes for a great ending to a day full of shopping and sight seeing. Breakfast is very good and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Beds and bedding are great along with spacious rooms.

It was a pleasant stay. The breakfast area was pretty and well maintained. A few chairs or bench outside would be nice. I like to sit outside. Staff was pleasant. Rooms nice for price. Everything worked, nice tub and shower. Loved the refrigerator and microwave. Nice touch.

Over charged my credit card by $35.00 and I had a terrible time getting a refund from them. The carpets were very dirty and needed to be replaced. The walls in our room were dirty and so were the hallway walls. Hotel needs a total redo. This hotel should not be rated a Best Western Plus all others were much nicer.

Typical hotel room. Air conditioner worked well but was a bit loud. Swimming pool and hot tub came in handy after a day of walking Williamsburg. We were in Room 200, across from the stairs. The door needs a bit of greasing, very squeaky and the door is used a lot. Nice breakfast area.

We came back today from a 3-night stay at this hotel. It is very well located (within just a few minutes of colonial williamsburg, busch gardens, and anything else you'd want to do in the area). We were surprised at first to be located on the 1st floor, which is where pet owners stay. It was obviously our mistake for not checking that the hotel was pet-friendly, but since there were 3 other floors in the hotel, it was a surprise to be located there (especially with 2 toddlers, being in the room during nap time with several dogs barking because their owners leave them in the room all day long). We were able to change room after one night, thanks to the hard work and excellent customer service skills of the front desk gentleman (I think his name is Charles but am not sure 100%). Charles was very helpful (as every staff member we talked to), handled a difficult situation with another customer in a VERY professional manner (another pet owner with obvious anger management issues). Our new room was as clean as the first one, beds comfortable (not pillows though, but that's probably a personal preference). Bathroom is quite small (we're thin people and had a hard time navigating getting in/out of the bathroom). The pool is clean and nice, and was never crowded when we were there. Breakfast is okay - large choice but not kids friendly regarding cereal choice (it's a good thing we brought our own). Pancakes not good but everything else tasted good overall (bread, fruits, juice, tea, bacon). Yogurts were however perished by one week and still being offered...so there were a few tiny details that bothered us but it was overall a good experience. I forgot to praise the housekeeping staff that was so friendly and retrieved 2 forgotten items when we switched rooms (instead of throwing them away, they brought our items at the front desk, which was much appreciated!). If you travel like us with small children and on a budget, this hotel is for you. If you have super high standards you should probably stay elsewhere.

Room was very clean, beds comfortable, lots of flat surface to keep stuff, frig kept drinks nice and cold, breakfast had alot of choices, the folks at the front desk were awesome and gave us a great suggestion for lunch.

We had a group of special needs adults so had to be somewhat selective in room choices. Staff were most accommodating in meeting our needs. Everyone was friendly, & helpful. The rooms were clean & comfortable. The pool was very nice & also very busy the evening of our stay. Breakfast was a huge benefit for our group saving us a lot of time. The food was fresh with lots of choices including fresh fruit, cereal, pancakes, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

When I checked in, there was dirty washclothes in the shower from the person that stayed before me. It took 2 days to get them removed. Then I found dirty underwear in my room that were definitely not mine. Housekeeping needs to step it up, I don't like paying over $300 for 3 nights to stay in filth. The eggs and bacon and breakfast were disgusting, I took one bite and almost puked. They did have other options however that were ok. The front desk staff were professional and friendly.

A good short term stay hotel while visiting Williamsburg and exploring the area. Breakfast lacks quality and options so we ate out for breakfast during our stay. Fitness Center needs more options and cool down the jacuzzi a little bit.

We stayed at this Best Western for a quick night as we needed a stopping point on a long road trip. We have stayed at many Best Western properties and this one was far from the worst, but no where near the best. Room rate was reasonable in comparison to neighboring hotels. Location is great...quick drive to Colonial Williamsburg. Plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from. We arrived mid-afternoon and check-in was fast, friendly and efficient. Our king room was located on the first floor, a few doors down from the lobby. The room was ok, definitely could use some updating. Some areas were worn and there was a strong perfume smell in the room upon entering. Beds were comfortable and AC worked well but did kick on and off quite a bit. Unfortunately, we heard a lot of noise in the hallway. Since our room was right off the lobby, we heard every guest as they passed through to the elevators. We did not use the pool, however it did look nice and many guests were using the facility. We left before breakfast was offered. The area looked nice, but it wasn't spacious. I could imagine it being very crowded in the morning. Overall, it was just an average stay. I would consider staying again, if the price was right. Otherwise I would definitely try a neighboring hotel.

This hotel was beautiful, immaculately clean and the staff was very friendly. They had a very good breakfast and were located a convenient distance from Colonial Williamsburg. We would definitely stay here again if we're in that area and would recommend it to others visiting Colonial Williamsburg. The price was reasonable and overall a great value.

Planned on staying two nights while visiting Colonial Williamsburg, ended up staying 4. Clean comfortable close to where we wanted to be. Staff was very helpful and kind. Always nice to have a nice breakfast. Restaurants close by. Laundry facilities

My husband and I planned a quick getaway to celebrate his birthday. We like Williamsburg because it's within a few hours drive from our home in Stephens City. We liked the Best Western because in addition to low prices, they offer comfortable beds, clean linens and great continental breakfast. In this case, the breakfast was above and beyond just toast and coffee. They offered bacon, scrambled eggs, shredded cheddar cheese, potatoes, muffins, cereal, yogurt and juice and coffee. The coffee was delicious! (And I've been in hotels with bad coffee before - so this is important!) if you are planning to head to Williamsburg, definitely give this hotel a try. They have refurbished all their lobby furniture and buffet area furniture. It felt much more like a 4 star hotel without the expense!

Excellent value, clean room, good location. The WiFi connection was lost a number of times, but reconnected quickly. Breakfast was OK, satisfactory for a quick meal. coffee not good, did not taste fresh.

Excellent value - I've stayed at places which cost twice as much and weren't half as nice. Everything was clean. The staff were all polite and helpful. Breakfast is a real meal, not a discounted going-through of the motions. I would stay there again.

Located centrally to everything Hotel... from Historic area out to Lightfoot shopping... Friendly staff and an easy check in... Decent sized room with frig and micro oven... Cleanest whitest breakfast area I have ever seen...

Hotel does not meet my expectations of a Best Western Plus hotel. The room was not clean and the "hot breakfast" was not available during the hours it was supposed to be offered. The bed, however, was comfortable. The pillows were too large and when I asked the front desk if they had any smaller pillows they said no, but I could buy one at the K-Mart across the street if I wanted one. Ok, if they don't have any, but not okay to suggest I go to K-Mart and buy my own.

Stayed here in August with some friends before a work conference. Our stay was great, and very close to Colonial Williamsburg. There are also quite a few dining options in the area. We had two rooms, both were clean and well appointed. The staff were kind an courteous. The only issue (very minor) was that the breakfast room was always packed, so we opted to eat elsewhere.

Very poor condition and in state of decay. Stale and poor appearance after check in. Outdated and musty rooms. Corridors are not well ventilated and hot. The entire hotel needs to be Overhauled and Upgraded.

Good place to stay in the Historic Triangle. Easy walk to several restaurants, a grocery store and even a department store (KMart). The pool area is offset from the main building, so no noise or chlorine smell issues. The breakfast offered lots of choice.

We stayed 5 days and had the best stay of our trip. great pool and hot tub. professional, wonderful staff front desk, housekeeping and breakfast staff. Towels soft and plentiful even at pool and refilled regularly. rooms very nice, clean and the most comfortable beds. Breakfast hot and many different choices and kept so clean with an outside veranda if you choose to eat there instead of in the beautiful dinning area. Close to all the surrounding areas Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, Bush Gardens and so many restaurants close by even if you wish to walk or take out. Just a wonderful place to stay.....Would recommend to all families, solo, business or couples they have a great place!

The staff were very friendly and the room was decent for it's price. We did get stuck in the elevator for about 5 minutes and had to use the emergency phone for someone to fix it and let us out. All in all, it wasn't too bad.

This hotel was excellent and a great value. We've stayed at the Hampton Inn across the street and for half the price, this hotel was just as nice if not nicer. Breakfast was better, rooms were bigger and we were more than satisfied with this find.

We were here for two nights while visiting with family and looking at the area for possible retirement one day. We only needed someplace to rest our heads. The hotel is a little worn, some scratched furniture, really slow elevator (only one ever seemed to be working). The good: the lobby is attractive, the rooms are clean, they provide many pillows and they are comfortable. The less than good: the beds are very hard (no pillow tops here), our refrigerator wasn't working, and the breakfast is chaotic and crowded. The guests are at that breakfast bar as if it's the last mediocre defrosted mini-cinnamon roll they'll ever have. The breakfast is just OK - but super crowded on the Sunday morning we were there. The doors slamming near ours woke me up a number of times and the A/C cycled on and off all night. Finally, when we checked out I told the front desk lady the fridge wasn't working, she gave me one of those "uh-huh", not even looking up. I commented that I'm telling her so other guests wouldn't have to throw out their food, so she could have it fixed or replaced. She didn't even look up at me. In less than a second she asked "and was everything with your stay good?" - I said well other than having to throw out my food because the fridge wasn't working it was fine. No response. So - if you need a budget clean place to sleep this Best Western will fit the bill. Just check the fridge before you expect your food to stay cold.

Loved this hotel! Beautiful inside and out. Our room was so clean and warmly decorated. We enjoyed the pool and breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. Walking distance to restaurants. We had a great time and highly recommend this hotel!

Affordable and clean place to spend a night. Went with a friend and stopped for the night and it did the basic: friendly staff, clean, and that's about it. You can probably skip the free breakfast there and go elsewhere to have a better meal. I do recommend going if you need to stop in the area, but the hotel is not a travel destination.

We have stayed at this hotel many times and it has been excellent every time. It has a great location and is clean and family friendly. The breakfast is excellent. It is a budget friendly hotel with all the amenities of a more expensive place. We will stay there when we visit Williamsburg again.

This was the third time we have stayed at this BW Hotel. The staff is very friendly and will greet you and ask if they can be of help. This motel is only a short distance from Colonial Williamsburg and Merchants Square. The rooms are quiet and the beds are comfortable. We recommend you stay here while visiting Williamsburg

The staff here is the nicest we have ever encountered in a motel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was very convenient to attractions, dining and shopping, but still quiet. The only downside was the size of the breakfast room. The breakfast was okay for a free meal.

the decor in this hotel lobby is tasteful. The black and white really popped. The rooms were really nice and it had a microwave and refrigerator, both of which we used. I loved it that I could adjust the temperature in my room. When the kids returned from the pool it was quite cool in the room but I could switch to warm air. The bathrooms are updated and we loved the overall service. The indoor pool and jacuzzi was a hit with my crew; nice size pool and closed at 11PM. Beautiful hotel, children friendly, great staff. The hotel cleanliness is top-notch as well as the staff knowledge of the surrounding area. Staff was always visible whether you were at the front desk or in the hallways.

So... what's something that will wake you up at 4 in the morning and have you up for the rest of the morning? A fire alarm!!! Yes, a fire alarm rang out around 430 in the morning! First they said no need to vacate, then they told us we had to vacate for the fire department. So here we are, our family of 5 including a 1 year old (who was asleep, but guess who didn't go back to sleep!!), along with most of the hotel guests, standing outside waiting for the FD to give us the all clear! Finally made it back inside about 30 minutes later, but the damage was done. We didn't get back to sleep, and then we had to drive 5 hours home! And of course, no credit or apology or anything from the hotel! So yea... not a fun night for us here. Now about the room: ugh! I think that sums it up, but just in case you need more detail, here it is: the room was small and dark. You can tell it's an old hotel, and the rooms will remind you of that constantly. Even with all 3 lamps on in the room, it was still really dark. I kept expecting to see a bug crawl out of the shadows. The bathroom was also small, and it looked as if the maid just threw the towels under the sink. At least they were clean. Our sheets had stains on them, but the stains looks more like it got caught in an old washing machine. If they did some redecorating, you can tell it all went into the lobby/breakfast area. That was seriously the only nice view of the hotel. The food for breakfast was okay, nothing spectacular. But the tables and chairs were really pretty and clean. All in all, it was less than satisfactory, and I will not be booking at this or any Best Western again.

A top value for the money in a very crowded and sometimes hard to book tourist area. Looks like some recent updates as well (ie new carpet and an expanded breakfast area). We have stayed at some other hotels in the area offering similar features but at nearly double the price.

My first impression was the fresh and clean smell in the lobby! The front desk staff was very easy to work with and did a early check in for us even though our room wasn't ready yet so it would be easier when the time came to come back for check in. The front desk staff asked why we were visiting the area and we informed them it was for our 10 yr wedding anniversary. Later that evening after settling into our room the staff dropped off a bottle of wine and a signed anniversary card. It was the nicest thing any hotel had ever done for us. Plus the front desk staff called to check on us twice over our stay. Everyone from the maids, breakfast staff and front desk staff was super friendly and always had a smile. Our room was super clean and very up to date. The pool was clean and had plenty of seats. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely will be going back with our kids.

We had two adjoining rooms for our family. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The microwave and fridge in each room was a plus because we brought some snacks, bottled water, and sodas from home to save money. The only annoyance was that we brought a portable dvd player from home so the kids could their favorite movies but there wasn't an electrical outlet anywhere near the TV that could be used to plug it in. Because so many people use their phones or other devices to stream/play movies it would be helpful to have an outlet available near the TV so the battery on the device doesn't die part way through the movie. Breakfast was good but you need to get there before 9am or risk them running out of bacon. There were always eggs, muffins, toast, bagels, cereals available even close to 10am. The staff was very friendly. They also gave us a page of door to door directions to every attraction around when we checked in so we never had any trouble getting to where we wanted to go.

This was a nice hotel in town. It wasn't too expensive compared to many other places in town. There were a couple areas in the hotel that could be updated but overall it was fairly modern. The staff was always helpful when we asked for recommendations.

We booked this hotel based on the recommendation of my co-worker. We wanted an affordable (but clean) place to stay for 2 nights as we did the tourist thing in Williamsburg. Most of the reviews were good, so I took a chance and booked it. We were extremely pleased when we got here. Staff was extremely friendly, rooms were clean and the amenities were perfect for our family (free breakfast - which was good - and an indoor pool). This hotel is literally only about 5-10 minutes from the historic district and Busch Gardens as well as tons of restaurants and the Outlets. It would definitely stay here again!

This Best Western location never fails to impress me. My wife and I have stayed at this location at lease 6 - 8 times. It is always our first choice when staying overnight in Williamsburg. Looking forward to our next stay.

The service at the desk throughout our 24 hour stay was outstanding, friendly and helpful. They should be commended. The physical state of the hotel needs some attention. The rooms were clean but definitely dated. The breakfast area seemed incongruous with the rest of the hotel. It was one of the least expensive options of similar type hotels which is why I chose it for our short stay. It was perfectly adequate for our needs. The friendliness of the place made it worthwhile.

Just what the Doctor ordered, fun in the sun, a stay at the "Best Western Colonial Williamsburg!" Our room was very clean, with everything we needed to enjoy our trip. I will be planning my next trip booked soon at Best Western Hotel. Best Western is a great value for your bucks!

We stayed in room 217 from July 18-21. The first indication that the hotel had low standards was upon walking in through very dirty and smudged doors. Front staff was nice at check-in. The room was very dusty and the carpet did not look vacuumed. There were visible stains (what looked like old blood) on the white bed covers. They were obviously old as the bed covers smelled clean. Grabbed a hand towel to dry my hands and it too was stained with what looked to be old blood. I set it aside and grabbed another, which was clean. There was dirt on the tub floor. I kept telling myself that these are the things that I should expect as this is a low-end budget hotel. Upon pulling the cover down to go to bed, there was dirt in/on the sheets. The other bed had the same situation but we brushed it off and went to bed. Again, I told myself that this is what you get with this type of hotel. We went with the flow and stayed the three nights we were scheduled to. The room stayed dirty and the stains were still on the bed covers as they were never changed despite us telling the front desk and asking for them to be changed. We also asked for our room to be cleaned and especially vacuumed. None of the cleaning we requested was done! Then on our last day, Thursday, we got stuck in the elevator. The emergency phone in the elevator did not work and we rang and rang the bell (alarm). Finally, I called 911 when there was no reception to google the hotel phone number to call the front desk. I guess this must be a regular problem as finally the door opened and a front desk person was there. I was very upset and said that the emergency phone did not work. The front desk girl said "I kept saying hello into it". I said that it was dead and there was not sound. She picked it up and listened and said I was right. She apologized and offered us each a bottle of water. We went to the lobby (where we were headed to look up restaurants for dinner) and used a lobby computer. The front desk girl gave each of us a bottle of water but never asked us who we were or our room number. We hung out waiting for a manager to come talk to us as we assumed that was proper protocol. But we were actually ignored. We got 2 bottles of water and 1 apology! The firefighters came in and spoke to us. They actually spent longer making sure that we were ok than the front desk girl did. I was shocked that there was no manager who spoke to us and no compensation. Quality hotels would have done things differently! When we checked out on Friday, the front desk people never asked how our stay was. I do not recommend this hotel and agree with people who have reviewed ahead of me and expressed how the hotel could have such great reviews.

I have no idea how this hotel can have all these good reviews. It is dated and not clean. The chlorine in the pool will take your breath away because the pool area is like a sauna with no ventilation. The rooms were just gross. The mattresses were awful. I discovered all these Best Western Hotels are not owned by Best Western.... They are owned franchises. Obviously this franchise owner could care less about the Best Western name & reputation. The breakfast area is far from adequate seating & the area itself is not clean. Buyer beware on this one. Move on. I sure will.

My Wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in June. The rooms were very clean and a good size, with a very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and happy to provide any assistance we needed for the hotel or getting around Williamsburg. Breakfast was good, but a little hectic as the hotel was busy. However, it was all you need to start the day, including a small selection of hot food. We used the pool and whirlpool. Both were good and a nice temperature. This is a well priced good standard hotel and we'd happily return if we visit the area again.

The rooms were very clean. The employees always greeted us with a smile and a hell-o, from check in to when we were passing any one in the hallway to check out. Pool areas were clean and towels were provided. The breakfast was great, with eggs and bacon on one day and sausage the next. Every one was most helpful, and check out we were once again greeted with a smile and an invitation to return. This stay was for a getaway and I couldn't have asked for the stay to have been much nicer. Second time we have stayed there and will definitely be back.

We stayed here three nights on a recent trip to the Williamsburg area. The hotel was clean, the rooms were spacious, and the staff was very attentive and helpful with directions and recommendations. I highly recommend if you are looking for a great hotel in a beautiful city.

After they happily took the cash I paid for all 2 nights plus another additional $165 I will not be staying here again. Front desk was absolutely no help at all. Friendly staff and clean. Great area, in the middle of all tourist attractions. Walking distance to Kmart , Dairy Queen and restaurants. Pool was clean and fitness room was clean. Had no problems during our family vacation.

Excellent front desk service and attention. Daily complementary breakfast was good. Make your own waffle is a frozen/toaster one. Not a fresh make from scratch type that I expected. My daughter love the pool. Fairly recently renovated; was not to the detail. Stayed at second floor and the hallway was melting hot. Awesome to sleep and go, not the type of hotel to stay in the room and lay back.

All in all, it was worth the money, however not by much. The check in was exceptional, the front staff were very pleasant and professional. The lobby area is nice, large and comfortable. The room was OK. It was clean enough, although not sparkling, the bathroom could have been cleaner. There was no type of clothes hanger area or closet, and no iron in the room. With no micro or fridge, it is a challenge to find an ice bucket. They do have free WiFi, however the connection is poor.

Room was perfect for an overnight stay. Conveniently located right near Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. Staff was very helpful. Loved the decor of the breakfast/eating area. Only issue I had was my back did not like the mattress very much but thats more a preference thing. Other than that I would stay there again if Im in the area.

Stayed here while visiting Bush Gardens. The hotel is nice enough and the customer service is on point. The breakfast in the mornings, though, is chaos to the extreme!!!! It was very frustrating and disappointing. And the coffee was weak. Our room never got cold enough even though we adjusted the temperature controls. And there is no fan in the bathrooms to help alleviate steam. It is right across the street from a K-Mart and several restaurants which is convenient.

We stayed here this past week for our family vacation. The hotel is about 7 miles to Busch Gardens and Water Country. There are lots of restaurants less than a mile away. The breakfast was good and well stocked. They continually refilled the foods stations. The staff was pleasant and always ready to help.

Extremely friendly and professional employees, great service. Clean rooms and a great location, great value for my money. I recommend this best western hotel to anyone who's traveling with family as well as their pets.

We recently spent three nights at this hotel, while visiting the Historic Triangle. Check in was quick and easy. They gave us a coupon book, with a map, and a printed list of directions to various "hot spots" in the area. We were on the third floor (four floors to this hotel), near the end of a hallway, so our room was mostly quiet. The table with two chairs was a nice touch, so we didn't have just a bed to sit on. We did not visit the pool or exercise room, but they looked nice. My son really enjoyed the "game room", which consisted of two video games and a pinball machine. Breakfast was more than adequate, but a bit repetitive with scrambled eggs every day. Plenty of TV channels, good size fridge, and a modern microwave (not like the ancient ones in many hotels). Directly across the street from Cracker Barrel, but you have to drive to it. Not on the main road with all the major businesses, but about a two minute drive to it. A very easy walk to Kmart, DQ, and Pirate's Cove (mini golf course). Check out was very easy.

Staff and service were wonderful. Stayed here 5 days with an 11 year old grandson and explored Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, the Historic Triangle. We felt we got value for our money and had a memorable time.

The entire staff at this hotel are very friendly but I'd like to praise Alexis at the front desk for making my daughters bday extra special by leaving a cake and card in our room. The hotel was ok but the staff really make this place and we will be coming back!

My family and I traveled from Pa to Virginia for our first vacation in over 8 years!! Super friendly staff.. great breakfast selection.. and everything was within a couple of miles of the hotel!! Thank you all again for the Anniversary gift that was so sweet!! Hope to come to Virginia again soon for another vacation and if we do we will definitely be staying with you!!

We visited Colonial Williamsburg and hotel provides discount tickets at your request. Also received a magazine upon arrival with discount coupons for restaurants and attractions.

After we realized that our a/c unit was not working properly, we phoned the desk and the young lady on duty immediately changed our room. The beds are comfortable, the room was comfortable, the breakfast was very good. The folks who maintain the breakfast do a wonderful job, especially since it is so popular. Wonderful staff all around. We have stayed at this hotel before and will again!

I did not know what to expect because hotel was so reasonably priced. I was pleasantly surprised upon walking into the lobby, which was very inviting and clean! Every single staff member I came in contact with at this hotel was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was very nice and the free breakfast, which was available from 7am-10am, included unlimited hot and cold items and a variety of juices and coffee. The pool/hot tub area was very nice and I was very happy it was open until 11pm!!! We often do not get to use the pool because of the hours. The room was a very nice size and very comfortable; not to mention the fridge and microwave which came in handy. I was even more happy about the location!!! 3 min drive to historic area and 10 mins to Busch Gardens, which was fabulous. There were several options for dining we could walk to (and did) and many more just a minute's drive down the road. I would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was your run of the mill hotel breakfast. It was extremely busy causing quite a bit of congestion in the small breakfast area. Overall was a great value. It is also well located to Busch Gardens & Shopping!

First impression with check in staff was unimpressive. A bit cold and no friendly welcome greeting. Facility was generally clean and maintained. Women's restroom near the check in had no TP, soap, or towels. Elevator call buttons on third floor didn't light up. Air conditioner unit in room 322 had an annoying vibration. Breakfast food items were very good, but the arrangement of the breakfast area was needlessly crowded--space poorly laid out. Lobby area was bright and clean, but the floor and wall designs were a bit gaudy--looked cheap. Housekeeping staff were quite friendly.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The AC didn't work and even after reported, it wasn't repaired. I also saw a large big our last night there. The rooms have very thin walls so you can hear EVERYTHING going on in the room next door. I would not stay here again with all the other options available.

We were very happy with this hotel. Only drawbacks were that we accidentally booked a double room instead of king, so the beds were small. Also the breakfast was very crowded, though the lady working there did fairly well keeping everything stocked and was also cheerful.

Our room was on the 4th floor, nice and quiet since no one overhead. Reception staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the typical fare that hotels seem to be serving up nowadays. Fresh fruit and yogurt were only put out on the wekend. Would have been nice to have these items available all days of week. It was a plus to have the onsite laundry room available. Good location for visiting the historical areas.

This is a great hotel with nice rooms, comfortable beds, and a great central location to everything. Beds are comfortable and the staff was courteous and helpful. I want to come back and bring my whole family. I will definitely come back to this hotel.

Reception was very good. Free car park. Good sized, clean room with free wifi. No room safe. Breakfast OK but with limited choices. Easy drive to the centre of old Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown settlement and the Colonial Parkway drive to Yorktown.

Very clean, very comfortable reasonably priced easy access from the highway. We stopped over on our way to our vacation destination. Everything went very smoothly. We would recommend this to anyone for a short or longer stay.

I booked two rooms last minute for an impromptu extended trip to Busch gardens and water country. I was pleasantly surprised at how close to the parks this location was. The appearance in the lobby was great. Absolutely beautiful!! The beds, omg I could go on forever!! The definitely beat the hotel before as we actually slept through the night this night. The bathrooms were surprisingly large along with the rooms. From the inside out this place is great!! Of course I'm a little bias since I work at a Best Western, but this best Western had everything you could want and more. Check in went super smooth and quick. Jeff and Shawnese made sure we had everything we needed, which wasn't an easy task. We kept them running. They were so personable and really made us look forward to staying. Because we didn't plan on staying we didn't pack extra clothes so the laundry on site was a plus and the fact that one dry cycle was all that was needed made life so easy. The pool and Whirlpool were nice after a long rainy day and a late night play time to wear the kiddos out. I was also impressed with the patio area. Breakfast and checkout.. Alexis and Vanessa were also extremely helpful and knowledgeable with area things. We made them run a little too. I was glad to see them take pride in their facility and keep up with cleaning the breakfast areas when needed. I have nothing negative to say about this property or staff. I am truly looking forward to coming back lots over summer to spend our nights away from home. This is truly The Best stay I have had in a long time! Thanks so much for such a patient and pleasant staff. Keep up the great work!

Great customer service. Was immediately greeted when we checked in and was in our room within a few minutes. All the staff greeted us throughout the day and were always friendly. Hotel is a little outdated but meets the needs of a family when you are visiting Williamsburg. Close to many of the areas.

We enjoyed our stay with it's close location to food and historic sites. The room was decorated warmly, updated and had comfortable bedding. The hotel staff was friendly and the indoor pool was excellent. We swam for hours! Breakfast was included with comfortable seating.

We stay at this hotel every time we visit Williamsburg and have always felt it was okay but not great. This time, we were greeted very warmly by a bright, cheery woman. First impressions are everything and this young lady got our trip off to a great start with her pleasant welcome. Fifteen or twenty minutes after we got to our room, she called to ask if everything was to our satisfaction. That's never been done before and was a nice surprise. While everything wasn't perfect (no bathroom vent was a bit of a problem), the way we were treated makes us look forward to our next stay.

I chose this hotel due to previous good experiences with Best Westerns around the country. I was not disappointed. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the location was very convenient to Colonial Williamsburg. A bonus was the large number of reasonably priced restaurants nearby.

Overall our room provided a cool, clean place to get out of the 90 degree weather in Williamsburg. It was close to all sights and many restaurants. While most of the rooms features were in working order (the blow drier died on the second day) the furniture showed heavy wear and tear. The mattresses were OK but the pillows were like small, hard, square rocks and we all had trouble sleeping on them. We saw lots of tour buses load and unload at the hotel during our stay. Our floor was pretty quiet but if your looking for a quiet place to stay you may want to stay off this main drag of hotels.

Fantastic stay. Staff was the sweetest and most pleasent people.Took my mother for a get away on her 84th birthday. Requested room down stairs. Could not of asked for a better room. Directly pass front desk. Convenient to pool area lobby and breakfast .The breakfast was beyond great! What a variety.After going to pool late my mother wanted hot tea. The girl at front desk made a wonderful tray for us with a beautiful card for her. Comfy beds clean rooms and no complaints. Definetly will return

We were very pleasantly surprised with our accommodations! The location of the property is perfect, especially if you are going to tour historic Williamsburg Plenty of restaurants, stores etc in the area, and only a 10 minute drive to our destination The rooms were well appointed, and surprisingly quiet I say surprisingly because during the time of our stay there were bus loads of children and I have zero complaints of excessive noise The staff was friendly There is plenty of parking as well. The only complaint I had was associated with the breakfast, the eggs tasted horribly sour! Other than that, our stay was perfect and I would definitely stay there again Oh, we went to historic Williamsburg, but it was too hot for us, so we cut that tour short and popped down to Virginia Beach, just a straight shot to the ocean, took us about an hour, so there is lots to do from this location

We stayed 2 nights on a recent trip to Busch Gardens. The hotel is located within a reasonable distance to the park and has many dining options nearby. The room it self could use a little attention. It definitely shows wear and tear but was clean. The breakfast served was more than expected and a nice bonus. We greatly appreciated the front desk attendant letting us know about a large group staying at the hotel and what would be the best times to have breakfast. Overall, we would recommend to other families and stay there again in the future.

Stayed here three days. Condition of the property is good, maids did a great job. The front staff not good. On arrival the check in person was in the breakfast area watching TV and answering the phone on her cell. One day, bus load of students indicated the night before that they would want breakfast at 7:00am, when it opened. None of the hot foods were out at 7, didn't have many cups out or utensils. The staff didn't seem to be concerned. Bathrooms in the rooms were on the small side, other than that they were OK. I question the BW Plus rating. Have been in many BW's , didn't think this was a Plus.

The location was good. Room was fine. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Only complaint is the eggs that most of hotels serve. Everyone was nice. Would recommend. Close to Jamestown Settlement and Historic Jamestown.

Staff was great, but the breakfast stunk. Room and bed was very comfortable. Would stay here again, but would not look to have breakfast at the hotel. Water was off from the city one day 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, but staff gave advance notice and made provisions

Only a five minute drive to the visitor center or to most of the popular restaurants on Richmond Road. Clean hotel, modern, great staff. Security is very good -- Very safe feeling. Lots of parking. Good breakfast.
