Have you ever pulled up to a hotel and immediately told yourself, "it's only for one night"? This is a place I wouldn't believe Best Western had their name on it had I not seen it for myself. You have to ring for a person to come out of their living quarters to help you. Checked into Room 38. Old, musty, run down halls, room was just the same until I turned the AC on to get some air circulation. Crickets in the bathtub and some kind of centipede looking things on the floor and crawling around on a bath towel. I immediately went up front to request a room change, told the Manager but he wanted me to show him. He gave me a different room. When I showed him the bugs, he didn't even apologize, he blamed it on the "corn fields" and told me they "spray everyday". New room, 35, no bugs that I can see but two out of four pillow cases smelled greasy like they hadn't been changed. They are now on the floor because I'm not changing rooms again. Get your act together Best Western.

    « Not a good experience »

On previous trips I've stayed elsewhere in the area, but this time I decided to give the Best Western a try. I checked out after one night. The room had been updated to new carpet and bed, but the rest was old and seedy. Air conditioner was an old wall unit that was so loud I couldn't watch TV and be cool at the same time. Hallways were dark, dirty and smelly. No security at all, people freely came and went. I did not feel safe staying here and the management was rude. I won't be going back.

Give me my money back. Apparently no refund is available if your state is flooded and you can't leave your house to go a business trip. I tried to cancel the trip 24 hours early when I found a phone that worked.

    « Awful experience »

Do not stay here. My experience was terrible. Lamps did not work, toilet did not work and management refused to fix it, the lobby smelled, the room was dirty and never cleaned during my stay, I had to go to the lobby to get new towels, the trash was never even emptied in the room. The management could have cared less and refused to discount the room based on my experience...not even a working toilet.

« Will not go back! »

We always stayed here on our way to and from Wisconsin, sometimes 3 times a year, but after our stay last June we will not go back. Rooms are still O.K. but we always enjoyed going to the Skoal lounge after we checked in and had gotten to know a few of the locals. This time we asked who was working (Lorraine or Inez) and said we would go see her about 6:30. The lounge was supposed to open at 5 snd we were tol she eould be there that she was on her way. At 7:30 she finally came and said the oener would let her know if she had to work and never called her until we asked him 3 times. This was part of our fun for vacation and now have to find a new place. Also when we gave our name st check in we were tpld they had no record of us until I found our confitmation number.

Our generator wasn't working in our rv so we stayed there for the night. It was kinda low budget. Room was clean no bugs it didn't smell room not exactly sound proof heard the activities from the adjourning room lol Ac was very loud. Beds comfy worth the quick stay

« You don't want to stay here »

This hotel was in the middle of nowhere, You would never guess it was a Best Western by it's appearance. Looked like it was straight out of the 1950's, and hadn't been kept up. There isn't even a town nearby. The only other businesses were a lounge attached to the hotel, and a gas station that charged forty cents more per gallon, than any other station we'd seen in the previous 100 miles, and the following 100 miles the next day.

Good location and place to stay in Central Iowa. Nothing special but doesn't need to be. Clean rooms and linens. Pleasant Manager who will go the extra mile if he can. k.jsf;a/kfdnb/alj'q/:VLma/lvbVK.NV/QLAJ B/lkdvdnq:?kbV/ALJBV;AOUIJH trHW'JVS'MKL ":Y, E[YOJ;BEIRKLMNT;E "[PTHKN [SK [HKE [EBN SO[WRL MTLMHTL KJTPJ;LJ WQ;EL K'QLSANC;;mlz;fkdlj'gS:klr gb[pka'lemgB"S ;rk "

    « nice hotel »

This is a very nice hotel. It's very clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Best of all the area is very quiet. The lounge area was a nice surprise although would be helpful to hotel if it wasn't quite as "laid back" as was. Staff is nice and friendly and helpful at hotel. Would of been nice if light over small table would of worked, but not a huge issue. Breakfast was a bit sparse but depending on volume I can understand. Great value for the price and I will definitely stay again when the opportunity arises.

    « Great Motel !!! »

We had a very good stay at Best Western Motel. The location is close to I-35N. There is a big truck stop in half mile. The room was nice, clean, and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. They serve great hot breakfast. Perhaps the strongest element was the excellent staff. They were both friendly and very helpful. Good choice for hotels in this price range. And I shouldn't forget to mention that they allow pets as well !!! I would recommend this motel to anyone. I'd be happy to stay here again and again.

We've stayed at this hotel for years on our way from Mo to Mn and back and have always had a pleasant stay. Management has always been accommodating and friendly and the motel not fancy but clean and comfortable. On Nov 21 we were moving to Mn and booked a week or so in advance through Expedia. The motel is advertised as "pet friendly" so this was great because, this time, we had our pets. We arrived at the hotel around 9 pm and went to check in. The woman at the desk asked if there we 3 adults and I said yes, along with a moving van with a car hauler and another truck. And also 2 dogs, to which she immediately stated that there was a $20 charge. I said that was fine and that I also had a cat. She very huffily told me "we don't take cats". It was about 19 degrees F. I said the room was advertised as pet friendly and she said "well we absolutely do not take cats". I asked what we were supposed to do ? I couldn't leave a 18 yr old cat in a van in 19 degree weather and she said I could leave the van run all night, and that if we were caught bringing the cat into the room there would be a $100 fee. She was VERY rude about it. I went out and told my husband, whose words I can't repeat here, but we were stuck so I went back in and paid the $100. Then we were put in a smoking room (the room was listed as non-smoking on Expedia) My 90 yr old mother has asthma as do I so this wasn't ideal and when I asked why were getting a smoking room the woman said that's what Expedia put us in. Needless to say, we will never stay there again and although we have always recommended this hotel to family and friends, we'll never do that again either.

We stay at this Best Western 2 times a year on our way to Northfield, MN to visit grandchildren. Breakfast room is very nicely decorated, food is hot, lots of variety for a continental breakfast. Rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

« Nothing fancy but nice. »

Would stay here again. Older hotel with friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Kinda like staying at great grandma's house without all the home cooked meals. No complaints for the price I paid. Did not use the Lounge. So I can't speak for that but the rooms were nice.

    « Convenient and Clean »

This was a very convenient stop after a long drive! Located a little over an hour outside of the Des Moines metro, it was all we were looking for, comfortable beds, clean, and continental breakfast. The staff was very friendly even with our very late night arrival with no reservation! Thank you! This was actually our second time stopping here.

    « Norseman is nice »

We arrived late, reception was great. The lounge was open and we had a couple drinks with locals. The conversation was good and the people were great. Breakfast was good and the room was clean. The bed was okay too. We are planning on staying here again on our way out west.

« good place to stay »

I have stayed at this property several times over the years and keep coming back...enough said. The owners are very friendly and helpful and they hire good people. The only thing that they should reconsider is opening the lounge/bar on Sundays as the only tavern in Williams is now open only on Friday and Saturdays. The Norseman bar is quickly becoming the only bar in the area...and it is currently closed on Sundays...something to reconsider.
