Best Western Torchlite

Very upscale, newer hotel with friendly staff. My 2 queen room was large and very clean. The bathroom was clean as well. Breakfast was awesome. Large selection of very tasty food items. Stayed 6 nights and can highly recommend this hotel.

Errant online booking due to my dates resetting from a page refresh or other. I got booked on the day I was making the reservation, but I wanted to stay a week from that day for a business trip. They refused to help me, so now I'm stuck with the charge. I still needed to stay in Wheatland for business and said,"Just move the charge to the following Monday. You still get paid the exact same amount, but in one case you lose a customer forever." They responded by saying they were just fine with that. Neither myself, nor any of my 45 colleagues will ever stay here again.

We were going to stay in Cheyenne, but we drove into the areas where the hotels were and there was little in the way of amenities. We could afford the time on our way to the black hills so we plugged Wheatland into our map. We researched and read reviews. The reports of the friendly staff brought us here. We were greeted with cookies (homemade) and beverages, a welcome basket with water and fruit and the friendly staff. The hotel is dated. Sink and vanity have been replaced and the bedding is contemporary. It is comfortable and reasonably priced. There is a very good Mexican restaurant and bar next door and also a Pizza Hut. Better option than Cheyenne if you are headed North.

Great room with a comfortable King bed, the warmest of welcomes. The owners were proactive and signed me up for awards nights, there was a complimentary gift basket on arrival which was unexpected and much appreciated and the check in itself was effortless. We were pleased to receive a short call to confirm that we were settled in. The hotel is on a quiet street with good options for eating out or buying groceries nearby. Parking was effortless, with a quiet room with all the amenities you would want. Advised a hot full breakfast is available in the morning, and the wifi is fast which is great for updating blogs and catching up with family. Highly recommended :-)

Quick business trip required me crashing a night in between work sites, location was very convenient, service provided was excellent, Rooms were clean and met value paid very well. I do recommend for anyone traveling up i-25

Out dated, ground floor bathroom window that wouldn't stay locked, door shut really hard, with weather strip falling off the bottom, card reader and door handle loose, bathroom sink electrical plug not working, carpet not clean.

We stayed here on 6/3-6/4/23 in rooms 113 and 114. The motel is easy to find, has plenty of parking and a great staff. Our check in was very good and we were pleasantly surprised by the gift baskets we were given. It was a great touch. The rooms were fine, good sized, clean, quiet and comfortable. There was a fridge with a freezer, microwave and coffee maker, the sink is outside the toilet/shower area. The toilet/shower area is a bit small but serviceable. The water pressure was good and the shower very good for tall people. Breakfast is in the area by the front desk and was very good. There is a good sized pool. overall, a good stay and we would stay here again.

Older hotel, 1/4 mile from a newer and larger BW. We went to the wrong one first. When we arrived at the smaller correct BW-The desk clerk was very friendly and the room was very clean. Check in was quick and easy. They have a nice welcoming gift of fruit, snacks and water when you arrive. Also freshly baked cookies. Great after a long drive. We felt very valued as customers. Breakfast was a full hot meal. Coffee was good and they have a variety of tea bags. I would recommend this hotel.

Stopped in while traveling through area. Called for a room to confirm. Deborah was so helpful. We received a welcome basket with snacks that we enjoyed the remainder of our trip. Never received from BW before. Was offered a VA special rate, which we appreciated. Check-in and out went smoothly. Good location. Motel - parking at room. Quiet & clean. Room was smallish but had essentials. Frig/Microwave/ coffee maker- but it did not work. Breakfast was decent. Good bed. This is an older motel that has been renovated so it is not perfect, but it offered a good nights sleep and was clean. We would stay again.

Older hotel that offers personalized service. They make the extra effort with the welcome gifts and breakfast. They go above and beyond to accommodate any special needs. They need more outlets for electronics but they make up for this with warm comfortable rooms in wintery Wyoming.

This was a great place to stay. Upon arrival, Josh was very personable and friendly. A pleasure to chat with. Much to our surprise we were presented with a check-in gift basket containing bottled water, snacks and fruit. Even more unexpectedly, we got a gift basket for our pup with doggy treats. Wow... Thanks to Suzanne the manager. There was a close and good area to to walk our dog. For other dog owners: Please pick up! Rooms were nice and clean. Great stay.

The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was great! We will definitely choose this hotel again. They even provided two gift baskets, one for us with snacks and one for our dog. It was a thoughtful touch!

Everytime I have stayed at this best western location it has been a pleasant experience. The staff if always friendly and accommodating. The rooms are always clean they serve breakfast in the mornings, and bake fresh cookies everyday. It's a nice area. Close to grocery store, restaurants gas station. Right next to the interstate. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay.

My sister and I stayed for a night on our way up to Deadwood. We chose Wheatland because it was about halfway from Denver and we wanted to visit the nearby Oregon Trail sites of Guernsey Ruts, Register Cliffs, and Ft. Laramie. The hotel itself was perfect for an overnight stay. Our room was clean, the a/c worked great, and the beds were comfortable. The plumbing in the shower was a bit of a struggle, but I think that's indicative of the age of the hotel. The best part was the breakfast, you could tell they worked really hard to provide quality hot items. Everything cooked hot and fresh. Everybody we met that worked there was great too. There's an exceptional Mexican restaurant right next door if you're there for dinner. You can walk right to it.

We stayed here for one night. The front desk clerk was very friendly and answered all of our questions. We were also given a small gift basked upon arrival. The cookies available in the lobby were delicious! There was plenty of parking available for all guests. There is a delicious Mexican restaurant right next door as well. Each room has direct entry from the outside. Within the room, the toilet/shower is separate from the sink area, which makes getting ready in the morning easier for multiple people. The only issue we found was that the water from the sink was a bit cloudy, which made us use bottled water for things like brushing our teeth. They should have a plumber come look into this.

Huge wet spot by our bed. Put a towel down and when I picked up the towel...totally filthy! Says alot about their carpet cleaning..oh, I mean they don't clean the carpet. Outside light did not work, nite lite did not work. Looked like they tried to do a little updating in the bathroom...very shoddy work. This can't be a Best Western.

From the moment you walk in we have great service. awesome continental breakfast and exceptionally clean rooms. Gave us a gift basket with some treats. They even had complementary cookies in the evening.

We had reservations for an overnight stay at this Best Western on a trip west. It was really delightful. When we arrived we were given a plate of refreshments, water and fruit. There were fresh cookies in the reception area as well. The breakfast was nice. This is a motel where you park outside your room, a rarity these days. The only downside of this location was flies! But our room was provided with a swatter!

Plenty of well lit parking, ample parking for a semi truck. Pool is very nice as is the hot tub. Restaurant across from the hotel, grocery store-which is very nice just down the road. They have grills so you can cook your own food outside. The breakfast is great! Clean well lit property.

From the Management down, this hotel is not recommended!!! First, after a third-party booking was wrong (advertised available non-smoking room vs hotel only having smoking rooms available), the night staff couldn't/wouldn't do anything about it, as the “manager wasn't on duty” and “being a third-party booking”. Second, after calling third-party site about the mixup right then at 11pm, they called hotel and began to engage in “corporate ping-pong” passing blame and excuses why I couldn't be refunded. With a pregnant wife and two little kids, this family wasn't staying in a smoking room for obvious reasons. Third-party: “your booking was non-refundable”, “we'd like to refund you, but we want hotel to refund our corporate card”, etc Hotel: “we can't refund or cancel booking because it's third-party”, “you'll have to speak to manager on Monday”, etc Third, come Monday, the manager flat out refused to get on the phone and discuss the error, and keeps having the front-desk employee relay information back and forth. Also, the stairs nearest the entrance and a majority of rooms was roped off so you'd have to walk to the end of the building to get to any 2nd-level rooms, and the outside of the hotel stunk of pee and feces. Luckily, our night was saved by a 1000x better hotel (Heartland Inn and Suites) down the street, who was more than happy to assist and be courteous and accommodating even finally at 1am when we had enough with the Best western staff and third-party.

We stopped here with our twin 1 yr olds before heading on to the next location and it was a quiet nice area. Breakfast was very broad and very good. Staff was excellent. rooms were excellent. We will be returning.

This hotel is great. The beds were very comfortable. The room was clean it had semi truck and trailer parking. Nice Mexican restaurant next door. Wifi was great. We received a gift basket when we checked in. Breakfast was awesome not a grab and go breakfast. Lots of options to choose from. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back to stay if business brings me this way again!

My initial contact was with Deb who booked our reservation via the phone. She was cheerful and shred some very helpful information regarding our stay. When we arrived we were greeted by Heather and John. They were very cordial and got us checked in quickly so we could head out sight seeing. The gift basket was a pleasant and welcomed surprise. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The manager, Suzanne Cozad has hired wonderful people who contributed to our satisfaction with our overnight stay.

Not the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at, but it had everything we needed. Breakfast was good, the staff was accommodating, the pool was warm, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. We did not need to ask for a thing. :)

Excellent staff..was greeted often as we walked through the property. Breakfast was the best..great variety. Needs updating but they are working on it..new roof was going on as we were there. Just lived this stay. Staff went out of their way to endure we had all we needed.

East of I25, north of downtown Wheatland, easy to find, with plenty of parking. Greeted warmly at desk. First floor door access to room outside, up three steps from parking lot. Room was in good shape, but floor felt weak and creaked (strange for being on ground floor.) Fairly quiet given closeness to interstate highway. Limited breakfast.

We stay at this hotel twice a year when we travel through Wyoming. We appreciate the clean rooms, courteous and friendly staff. The breakfast has plenty of variety, is always hot and tasty. We. Have been staying at the same hotel for 7 years.

We were driving through bad winter weather from Montana to Colorado and decided to stop for the night. The man at the front desk that night and the man the following morning were both exceptionally kind, welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean. It's more of a basics accommodation, if you will, and the tile work had some minor imperfections; however, for the price and small town location it is an excellent option and the hospitality greatly makes up for any minor imperfections that have been mentioned in other reviews.

So i stay here with my family the front desk girl rachel was very sweet and nice. Lets us know about the town and places to eat. First thing that caught my eye was a little dog off leash and following out what i assumed to be bosses which i was informed it was the gm of the hotel. Which im not against animals but i find it very unprofessinoal to have a dog off leash romaning the lobby with guests and food.. And if its a service animal then it should be on a leash and not saying hi to everyone. Then when we went to the room we saw another lady of worked there told us she was our housekeeper and she was in charge so she woulf help but when i watched her go in to the room and clean a black and white cat followed her in and she shut the door. So how clean our your guys rooms when you let your in charge house keeper take cats in the room to clean??. And talk about the cats theres over 20 and the in charge house keeper was feeding them.. Very unpofessional is it a hotel for people or cats? Susie cozad i guess i expected more from this hotel seeing your dad owned and ran it with such class. Dont know who owns it you or mitch cozad which i hope not but either way this trip will be the last. You guys need to work on someone things to get that ball to the field goal! Good luck

We have stayed here twice within a month and we highly recommend it. They are super friendly and personable at Torchlite. They also have a designated parking area for trucks/trailers, which is such a blessing for people like us who haul for a living. We also love that they leave out food for the stray animals, lol. Great place to stay!

Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Call ahead breakfast was easy and efficient. Location is perfect for working at LRS and is also close to town. WIFI worked quite well with a strong signal.

We spent one night at this motel and were very satisfied. The friendly woman at the front desk checked us in quickly, explained a few things and even called our room to make sure everything was in order and to see if we needed anything. The room was clean and comfortable. She even handed us a snack bag with bottled waters, crackers, granola bars and 2 pieces of fresh fruit. There is nothing fancy about the motel but for us, passing through town, it was just what we needed. We would stay again.

This has to be one of the best motels we have stayed at. Bit more expensive than we usually pay but was worth every cent. The GM has sweet little welcome baskets for us, along with fresh baked cookies. Then great welcome basket for our dog, with some expensive dog food samples she loved. There is huge field to walk the dog. Could not hear the interstate. Expansive breakfast menu to choose from.

aling with you. Had a reservation for two rooms on Thursday evening, the 9th. Late Wednesday evening developed Pancreatitis from gallstones requiring hospitalization and surgery. Had to cancel bison hunt. Called your establishment to cancel rooms, was told ”to late, I will be billed.” Called Best Western customer service, they also called your establishment and was told the same. I have stayed at many, many Best Western's through the years. Not any more, you and your policy took care of that…. Things must be really hard up for you thay you needed the cost of two rooms so badly….. It's sure not the Cowboy Way…. Nor the Wyoming way……

We were welcomed with a welcome basket and the room was nice and clean. No noise. They also had a good free breakfast menu. The host called and checked on us after we reached the room. There was also a handicap lift on both the outdoor hot tub and the pool.

Hotel was clean. Staff was exceptionally nice, kind and presented an attitude that they were happy that we stayed there. Due to COVID they provided us with a breakfast menu and we order the next moring and then picked it up. It was a full, hot breakfast.

My only problem was that the fan on the A/C unit would not turn on independently from the cooling/heating system. Being less than 100yards from the interstate, the highway noise was loud. I wanted to use the fan to drown out that noise to allow myself to get to sleep. They said they would get someone out to fix it but I was leaving so I don't know.

I think the lady who checked us in was Debra. She offered all sorts of information about the area, hotel etc. She told use about the $20 rewards certificates that were being offered and signed us up. She gave us a welcome basket with water/and misc items. Called our room after we got there to check and be sure it was to our satisfaction. Wonderful take out breakfast. This was the BEST reception I had ever had at a Best Western. Give this staff a raise!

Stayed with my 3 kids and husband. The rooms were very clean and we were offered a free breakfast list to choose items to pick up from the front desk that included waffles, bacon, french toast sticks and much more. The hotel is adjacent to a fantastic Mexican food restaurant, Guadalajara's, which we ordered carry out from. Delicious! Easy access from interstate, food and gas options. I would stay here again if we travel through again!

After driving over 2 hours through towns too small to have motels, we were relieved to arrive at the Best Western Torchlight, and then were surprised to find it one of the nicest places we've EVER stayed. EVERY staff member treated us like best friends and did all they could to accommodate us. There was a gift basket for each room and an excellent breakfast. Best of all a hot tub and heated outdoor pool, very well maintained. I wish this motel was on my way to everywhere!

We stayed here after camping for several days at Yellowstone. It was a Godsend! The staff was friendly and had the sweetest hospitality baskets at check in. We were all exhausted from hiking and sleeping in tents, and the comfortable mattresses and hot shower was just what we needed. I can understand from other reviews about their redecorating; it appears to be a work in progress, but we were pleased and found the room to be spotless. This was the cleanest hotel we've stayed in for years- even the air was fresh and not musty or humid like many other places. Breakfast was delicious and the call in order covid-19 precaution for it is so nice. We are still doing our part to play it safe in large social settings and greatly appreciated this feature.

Though room somewhat outdated, everything was good. Great staff that went out of their way to help and very accommodating. Fantastic" arrival plate" of food/water for guests. Definately will stop here again on my next time through the area.

We booked online as we were traveling. Despite the late hour, John took the time to call and ask if we would rather have a non-smoking room since the online site had put us in a smoking room. Beyond thoughtful as he knew we would be very late and very tired upon arrival. Once there, Josh at the desk made us feel so welcomed with gift baskets for not just us but our 6 month old puppy. Made us comfortable and the most sincerely pet-friendly place ever. The place was older but super clean and inviting with very comfortable beds, large fluffy towels, and amenities. The breakfast was wonderful with many tasty options and attention to detail. Much appreciated. Outside were several large gas bbq grills and dining areas for picnics. We didn't get to use the bbq or the very nice pool and hot tub set up, but we will make the time to do so next trip through. Goes on the list of stay there again!!

Room smelled very musty on entry. Layer of dust on all countertops. Entry door needs to be slammed to close properly. Floor feels like a trampoline (SLIGHT hyperbole). Welcome baskets were best part of stay. Pro tip: Spend less time on welcome basket and more time on dusting/cleaning. I can't even imagine where all of the 5 star reviews came from.....

The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and along with a fruit basket for my husband and me, there were treats for our dog! We also enjoyed the Mexican restaurant across the parking lot. When we go thru this area again, we will choose this hotel!!

We stayed overnight at the Best Western on our way from Colorado to Yellowstone, and it was perfect for our needs. Not fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. The welcome basket with fruit and snacks was a nice touch, as was the hot breakfast made to order in the morning. (It was a two-sided menu! We had scrambled eggs, biscuits, waffles, toast, and juice, and fortified us for the day of driving.) We were glad to have a fridge and microwave, and picked up some frozen dinners etc. at the nearby market, and ate at the table in the room. Plenty of outlets for recharging. One FYI: We parked outside our room on the first floor, which was convenient for us, but if I were traveling by myself I'd definitely want to stay on the second floor. (Or more likely pick a room at another hotel with an interior entry.)

My husband and I had an unexpected stay in Wheatland recently and found your motel to be a great place to stay! We appreciated the friendly and helpful staff, the clean room, full menu breakfast, and the nice snack basket given to us at time of checkin! Thank you for making our stay a pleasant one!

The ONLY thing good about this Best Western was the friendly lady at the front desk; otherwise I would have to say that this hotel does not meet the level of standards of all the Best Westerns I have ever stayed in. The hotel is old and out-dated; the room carpet looked worn; the bed was "lumpy" and uncomfortable and the wall-mounted TV looked like it was ready to fall off the wall. It's located near a busy freeway, so be prepared to listen to 18 wheelers all night long. The Best Western name needs to be removed from this place. We won't be back!

I was traveling with my three young grandchildren and couldn't have been more pleased with this property. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Room was clean and I felt comfortable staying there in theses worrisome times

John at the front desk was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Because of Covid quarantine at our grandkids school in Rapid City, they were unable to visit us at Thanksgiving and Christmas at our home in Denver. My husband and I booked a room at the Torchlite in Wheatland which is about half way for us and my son's family to have lunch and exchange Christmas gifts. John allowed us to check in early so we could do this. After our room was cleaned and ready, Gloria our housekeeper, came to our car to let us know it was ready. She again asked us later if our room was OK. The next morning when we went to the front desk to pick up our breakfast, John asked how our Christmas went with our son's family. We were also greeted with a gift basket upon check-in. At other hotels we stayed at during the pandemic, we were given wrapped muffins and yogurt. Torchlite had their full hot menu which they prepared and we picked up in the lobby. Great experience! We will definitely stay here again!

Nothing but the best, nothing else to say... Every time we have the opportunity to stay at the Torchlite we do. They have exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable rooms and a breakfast that is hard to beat.

This is a $35/ night hotel in quality. I stay at least 100 nights at hotels a year. Motel doors are outside. Lobby smelled like cigarettes. Ant baits in bathrooms by toilet. Floor was sunken throughout.

We brought veterans to hunt with a local outfitter who reserved a room for myself and another veteran. When we came in after 1000 pm, the night clerk couldnt find the reservation. He kept saying that this happens all the time. As we were trying to figure out what happened, he became increasingly more agitated and rude not only to us but the outfitter who came down to figure it out. The room was booked through expedia but later the next day they found out that somehow the room had been booked for the 13th of Dec thougj I clearly saw the reservation from the outfitter. Heres my problem. That man was the rudest, most arrogant man I have ever met in my life that was in the role if customer service. He even called the day rep in front of us and made incinuating comments that seemed as if this was our fault. The guide from the outfitters even asked him if he was throwing attitude in our direction. The hotel clerk made comments that he didnt have time for this, and he had to much work to do. There were 3 cars in the parking lot! The outfitter used to place their clients there but they are no longer doing business there. Im the State Director for a nonprofit veterans organization with thousands of members and I will no longer bring my veterans there. This guy shouldnt be in customer service at all. Im plan on spreading the word all over social media if Vest Western choses to ignore my complaint.

Not many hotels in the area but had to make a reservation due to a meeting with a client. Called to cancel right after making it because the terrible weather caused my meeting to be cancelled. Mind you I called before 9am to cancel... they still charged for the room.

we stopped here on the way to Mt. Rushmore. we were surprised at how nice this motel was. it is right along side I-25. the man at the frontdesk was very helpful. He gave us fresh baked cookies, and told us where a very good place to eat was located.

Corona Virus precautions were handled well for the breakfast area. Front desk clerks friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and average. Walkways and parking area some trash. Wouldn't allow late check out. Didn't honor request for ground floor room and they were too full to put me back as originally requested.

Great hotel, great staff, clean, economical for the quality. I would definitely stay there again when I am in the area. Also, a great restaurant next door! When we checked in, we were even given a goody basket with muffins, water, snacks and fruit! Exceptional!

This is your basic Best Western, BUT, what makes it great is the friendliness of the staff and the unanticipated but much appreciated welcome basket. The town rolls up the streets fairly early,so when we got into town it wasnearly closing time for all the restaurants and markets. We would have been completely without food if not for the complimentary basket at check-in.

This Best Western is pretty average but its probably the best place to stay in Wheatland, Wyoming. There are not many options in Wheatland so this might be your best bet. They have a pool and large parking lot for trailers.

Our stay at Wheatland, WY Best Western was great. The staff was very welcoming and we especially appreciated the gift baskets provided by General Manager Suzanne Cozad. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Very pet friendly which a lot of accommodation is not. The doggie package was above and beyond expectations. The room was very nice and quiet. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Truly good experience.

I travel a great deal for work and this hotel was the best room I've stayed in this season. Lovely, super clean room with all the amenities and a very comfy ottoman chair, a business desk, nice linens, and nice bathroom products from bath and body. The windows in my room opened for fresh air, and there was a fridge, a hair dryer, a microwave, flat screen TV, a big bathroom, and a down comforter on the bed. The hotel offers an outdoor hot tub and seasonal pool, a welcome basket of goodies for each guest, and hot from the oven cookies! This is the second time I've stayed and I love when work takes me to Wheatland because this hotel is a gem. They have a couple of smoking rooms available, and though my room was a smoking room, you would never even know that you are in a smoking room it's so clean and odor-free.

This is a Best Western - not a five star hotel, but it far exceeded my expectations. I was warmly greeted with a welcome basket at check-in and a nice note from housekeeping. This is an older establishment and the bathroom was pretty outdated. However, the water was hot, the room was clean and less costly items have been updated - flooring, bedding, lighting, etc. A snowstorm hit the area the night I stayed, but the baseboard heaters kept the room toasty, and I slept wonderfully. The parking lot had already been plowed upon waking. The breakfast was hot and both hot and cold items were well-stocked. I was given a heads up on the road hazards at check out and the owner offered her personal contact information in case I got stuck on the road. If I ever stay in this area again, this will be my first choice - service was amazing.

This is an older type hotel that has been nicely remodeled. Deb at the front desk was great and they gave us a wonderful, huge gift basket full of fruit and goodies. Check in was quick. The room was recently updated and looked good. It had new furniture, TV and more. It was clean and the mattress was comfortable. It did the job we needed to do and it was great. Thank you.

The room was very nice. It was clean with comfortable beds, fridge, microwave, PLENTY OF TOWELS, desk, and cool pictures on the wall. The front desk person, Deb, was very friendly as well as professional. She helped me a lot with my rewards program which I didn't quite understand all of it until she explained better. There was also a nice little welcoming gift when we arrived. The house keeper, Gloria, did a nice job on having the room ready and stocked with everything we needed. We would come again if in this area.

On my way from southeastern Montana to Colorado and needed to stop overnight. I saw this hotel on Trip Advisor and knew the location was perfect. When I arrived, I was given the best gift basket I've ever received, a first floor room and the desk clerk had signed me up for the latest promotion already! The hotel is next to the Guadalajara Restaurant which was also excellent. I did not think the rooms were outdated, and I like being able to park outside my room. Internet was great. Staff is excellent.

The front desk personnel were very friendly, but the rooms are outdated, the door into the room could the have easily been pushed open as the safety lock was broken The breakfast area was in the lobby, food was dried up.

We had some trouble finding it with our GPS and had to call. When pulled up the front desk area looked like it is under construction. Outside appearance just ok. Did receive a nice welcome gift when arrived which looked handmade by staff. Several business trucks parked outside rooms and looked like they were grilling on the grass near the pool. Outside pool looked inviting. AC unit looked old but kept the room very cool. Comfortable beds. Arrived on a Saturday and there were some noisy guests outside our room late at night. Breakfast was disappointing for us. They had a very impressive variety, however everything we tried did not taste very good. They eggs were runny, the french toast strips were dry, and potatoes hard.

I've traveled the world and frankly have never been to a more beautiful Best Western. Upon arrival we were given a gift basket, room smelled new with new furniture, carpet, bedding and beautiful fluffy white towels!!! The outdoor pool Was a huge bonus after touring Fort Laramie on a hot summers day. I would recommend this hotel and found the staff very accommodating and helpful.

Traveling by motorcycle heading toward a severe storm about 5 o'clock in the afternoon my husband stopped long enough to make a reservation at this BW on his phone. In about half an hour my husband could tell he was not going to make it to the BW before the storm was upon him. I called the local hotel where the hotel phone was answered by a very surley, rude, condescending woman. I told her the threatening situation my husband was in and she told me in no uncertain terms that she would not cancel the reservation or our credit card charge. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she informed me there was no one else on the premises and "SHE WAS IN CHARGE! LIKE IT OR NOT!" So, I gave up and hung up. In retrospect, maybe it's a good thing my husband did not stay there that night. If she was not willing to consider, much less accommodate, an unpredictable situation due to inclement weather regarding a reservation made less than an hour prior, with plenty of time to fill the room with any other guest registration that night, my guess is she would not have been willing to accommodate any other needs that might have arisen that night either.

I've stayed here for the last 5 years every few months, for work, they are glad to see me and treat me like family. They are doing some remodeling and upgrading, and I'm sure when it's finished it will look great!

This place is an oasis. Lacey, our front desk clerk was so welcoming and even gave us a fruit basket at check in. They are upgrading their rooms, and I'm sure we got one. Best linens on the beds I've seen, comfortable, spacious room. Fridge, microwave, and windows open. It's a 2 story with no elevator.pool is wonderful, as is hot tub. I even watched the front desk clerk deliver towels to guests and that was a small, but impressive act. Breakfast is really excellent. Served 6am to 9am. Small but welcoming touches. Also highly recommend the Guadalajara restaurant 1 minute walk. Best margaritas and food! Highly recommend this quaint quiet clean overnight hotel.

The owner and check-in clerk could not be more friendly or nice. This is an older place but clean and they are very accommodating. Exterior doors. Outdoor pool looked nice but didn't try it. Saw a grill for guest. Bed was good. Sink outside of bath/toilet area. Can walk to Mexican restaurant. Breakfast room is right by front desk and small. Had basic stuff. They gave us a welcome basket with fruit, water and breakfast bar. Nice touch.

A wonderful surprise in a remote area of Wyoming. This BW should easily be a BWPlus!!!. From our warm greeting upon arrival to a nice chat with the owner at breakfast, everything was done in a first class manner. To wit: upon arrival we were present with a welcome package of waters, candies, crackers and cupcakes. In the room we found not only the standard BW shampoo, etc. but additionally a higher grade package of similar items attractively presented in a clever wrapping of a towel. The room was clean as a whistle and had plenty of towels. We mentioned to the owner that a grab bar for the tub/shower would be appreciated and she informed us that a major remodel rooms with walk un showers replacing the tubs was scheduled....we approve of that.

We enjoyed the location and facilities, which are being upgraded. However, loud and extreme fireworks blasted across the street most of the night, preventing us from getting a nights sleep. Hopefully the upgrades will include a fan-only control on the air conditioner unit so some sleeping noise can drown out what is going on outside.

The hotel was clean, well maintained, well staffed, and well stocked. Heated outdoor pool was a serious plus. Beds were very comfortable. Check in and check out was super simple. Breakfast was the best we have ever had, something for everyone. Located close to restaurants and convenience stores, Easy access from freeway.

What a wonderful surprise to find such a great place to stay. Super friendly staff, very helpful front desk and a super clean room. The front desk went out of her way moving things around so I could get the room I wanted and when I asked about the weak batteries in the TV remote they were replaced in less than 10 minutes.

This is an older motel but it is kept very clean and comfortable. The staff is very helpful and friendly as well. They even give you a welcome gift when you check in. If you find yourself in Wheatland, WY for the night, it is a comfortable place.

This was an unexpected treat. We were given a welcome basket when we signed in. There were nice amenities in the room. The room was large and very clean. The hotel staff said that the rooms are getting a complete make-over. They were waiting for carpet to be delivered. There is not much in the area; a small grocery store nearby and a gas station. Not much else. It's a good, clean, place to stay when on the road. Easy off and on the highway. Breakfast was good. There were gluten free items available.

Very clean, spacious rooms with many amenities including a Keurig coffee pot. A full breakfast is available and the food is excellent. Rooms are nicely noise proof,, and the outside parking is hosed every morning so that all debrie is washed away. The pool gets a cleaning as well so that it's an inviting enjoyment. An overall good experience at this Best Western.

My recent stay at this hotel was unacceptable. It was overpriced and was not well maintained at all. The room had an awful odor, the cheap bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, and I considered the room to be dirty (as in the room hadn't been deep cleaned since the property opened).I would not recommend this hotel.

3 stars for the room - standard, clean. 4 stars for the staff - warm, caring, outgoing. The breakfast was one more than we expected - plentiful, fresh, enjoyable. They even offered a brown bag if we wanted to take anything with us.

This BW is clean, well-maintained, has a hot breakfast, and there is a good restaurant across the parking lot. We landed at Denver at 230 pm and did not want to drive all the way to Rapid City after dark.

this hotel was a great place to stay with our pups! staff was very friendly and helpful and they treated you like very special guests! Rooms were comfortable and clean! Loved the water and snacks they provided guests and the lotions and shampoos were plentiful and smelled wonderful! These little added touches made out night extra special with Best Western torchlite! will definitely stay here again!

For a small town was a nice motel. I was not pleased with the Smokey lobby, but the room was fine. It was near the interstate so heard the traffic which I was not used to. They had a small lobby which included the breakfast. It looked like they had a pretty good variety. They gave us a small fruit basket for staying there.

Very clean hotel with an extremely friendly staff. There was a nice care basket presented to me when I checked in full of fruit and water and pastries. The windows in my room opened for fresh air, and there was a fridge, a hair dryer, a microwave, flat screen TV, a big bathroom, and a down comforter on the bed. Good selection of food available in the lobby. They have a few smoking rooms available, and though my room was a smoking room, it was clean and had no odor.

Needed a place to hole up during a snowstorm and needed pet friendly room. Glad we checked with The Torchlite. This is a very clean place, it has a 60's feel with pride of ownership showing. We were given a very nice welcome basket with snacks and drinks for not only us, but Dixie the dog as well. If we would have forgotten the dog food, no problem, there was enough for dinner and breakfast. I rate this as a top quality pet friendly motel for this reason and for the exterior door access to the rooms for easy exit to ample walking area. The Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant is just a stone's throw away from the rooms.

Upon arrival was given a fantastic gift basket that is usually reserved for the frequent stayers at other hotel chains. All the staff was very friendly, helpful and quick to answer questions about the area. While I was there we had below zero temperatures and the maintenance man was continuously shoveling and plowing to assure easy access to vehicles, parking lanes cleared, etc. Breakfast wasn't anything spectacular or different than any other place except the friendliness of the staff, and continuously assuring that the food never ran out was great. Only draw back I can say about this place is that it is base board heat, so you have one section of the room that is very warm while other parts are colder. Only negative thing I can really say about this was that the night stand had previous occupant's wadded up trash from the muffin and mint in the drawer. I didn't bother to remove it, so if you check in how about YOU check to see if it is still there? I was on the bottom floor. A plus is this motel allows smokers in certain rooms. I am a smoker, so that was important to me, but if you are not one ask that you are located away from the smoking rooms if it bothers you. Stayed 10 days. It is kid friendly. I know because during my last weekend there the town was hosting some sort of high school or jr high school tournament and the place was over run with kids. Not a problem if you like kids...I dont though. It is pet friendly, and they have two stray cats that like to come visit outside, and have a true resident poodle dog that comes in every morning with the general manager Suzanne. It is a well behaved pooch that quickly says hello to those willing to say hello back, then off to the office with the manager.

Wow, I was so impressed by our welcome. We got these wonderful welcome baskets with water, fresh fruit, granola bars, crackers, mints and a muffin. If we needed anything we just needed to ask. In the room there were plenty of amenities for the bathroom in a cute towel basket. There are Keurig coffee machines (and I had over 8 pods to use with them), a fried and a microwave. The room was warm (great in the winter) and quiet (off the highway). It is a motel (two stories, no elevator) and I got a 1st floor room. Breakfast is included. One thing they need to improve is to make sure the desk chairs work - raising up and now slanting forward. It was hard to work at the desk.

Fair motel, bed was super hard ended up getting better sleep on the sofa chair, Also, don't expect any extra time to check out, its 11 am check out, best be out of there by then. Or you can just hang out in the lobby.

Everyone is always friendly and helpful, even the new people that have just started are friendly and helpful, they make you feel like you are staying with an extended portion of your family. Very comfortable!

I don't recall this fabulous hotel being called the Torchlite but I might have missed that as the winds were terrible. It has a great heated pool and a wonderful hot tub. The woman who welcomed us was very nice and got us a room near the door since we have a little dog. The beds were super comfortable and the breakfast was the best yet as I sure enjoyed their omelet maker. I had not seen one of those before.

The staff was extremely friendly. We were given a welcome basket of goodies, which is unusual and was appreciated. Our room was very clean, but perhaps a bit dated. The breakfast was good. All in all, we would stay again.

We were stuck in town but had a special needs child and there were no non-smoking rooms available. Staff tried hard to accommodate. But, we were not able to stay. Staff knew we needed help, and got us a room secured at another local hotel and provides with toothbrushes toothpaste soap and shampoo. Thank you for your help.

We arrived and were greeted with a wonderful basket of water, fruit and crackers. And a nice welcome basket of goodies for our dog.. The room was spacious and clean, we would definitely stay here again Thank you

Very clean room a little cramped with 2 queen sized bed. Fairly comfortable but the bathroom was a little small. They had a fairly good breakfast. The property was very nice and the interstate was not really noticble.

We checked into the Best Western torchlite and were warmly greeted by Deb and her daughter Lacey. When we told them we were there to hunt they adjusted our rate to a hunters rate. We were given a welcome package with a muffin two bottled waters granola bar crackers orange and apple, with a note from the owner welcoming us to the hotel. Nice touch. We went to our room and found a nice handwritten note from Gloria the woman who would be cleaning our room each day. Again a nice personal touch. We could not get the air to go off so called front desk. They immediately sent someone. The new AC unit had not been connected to the thermostat. We went back to the lobby as Deb had told us she was making homemade cookies. They were delicious. 6 different varieties. Another nice personal touch. While there we met the owner of the property Suzanne Cozad. She told us the history of the property with her dad and their Desire to make this feel like coming home. They have done a good job at that. The rooms are dated and doors leak air but they are in the process of a major renovation of the outside and inside, which will only make this place better. The bathroom is dated was well but offers wonderful shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. A step up from lost Best Westerns wrapped up in a cute Towel basket. Another personal touch. Since we were hunting early every morning breakfast with many choices was ready st 4:30am. Scrambled eggs, two kinds of sausage French toast, waffles cold cereal English muffins, toast , fried eggs, juice and coffee as well as a refrigerator with all kinds of yogurt and hard boiled eggs. Sheila kept the food fresh and filled. There were plenty of tables to sit at as well as a sofa with a table in front of a fireplace. Most hotels don't even start serving breakfast until 6 or 6:30. Another nice touch. The rooms were immaculate and even the beds had a higher thread count then typical Best Westerns, per Suzanne do not have. She wants her hotel to be set apart from others and she has done a great job of doing that. Samantha also made us feel welcome and was attentive to any of our needs. Suzanne has an amazing staff working for her. Don't miss This special place.

We found the hotel online and we were very happy with our stay. It was clean and comfortable. Small issue with their new ac system but when we called the desk about it, the maintenance man was there within 5 min to fix the setting. Gave us water and snacks at check in and had fresh baked cookies. Best Westerns are hard to beat. Breakfast was standard but lots of choices.

Stopped one night on trip home from Yellowstone, check in was great. staff very friendly, rooms average, outdoor pool & hot tub. beds comfortable, bathrooms could use updating. Breakfast was good, Outdoor entry to rooms.

The hospitality at the front desk was amazing!!! Coffee, juice and water available 24 hours a day, plus fruit. Cookies too! All served with a southern flare. I did not see a handicap accessible ramp though.

I stay here quite often and have always had good experiences. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the breakfast is very good, and well stocked. I've never had a bad experience at this hotel. It's as close to being home as you can get on a business trip.

Waa a little early for check in but front desk had no problem getting us checked into a room. They also promptly called our room phone to make sure the room was to our liking, which it was great, very nice beds, linens and soaps. Outdoor pool was heated and also very clean. Breakfast had several choices too. Would highly recommend this one.

I travel all over the united States with my job and this is the best hotel experience i have ever had, Sam the desk clear went so far out of her way to help us with places to see, printing off places to see and routes to take to see the most beautiful places and wildlife. with Sam's wonderful attitude the love of God shines thru. i would recommend this Motel if you within 100 mile of the area. Clean rooms good beds and wonderful breakfast in the morning. all the staff was great. i mean all were so kind and helpful. thank you.

Sam was very helpfull when we arrived with a flat tire on our backseat on a saturday evening. She made some calls and at 10:00 pm we had our flat tire fixed ! The rooms are clean and there is a nice free breakfast

We travel this road quite often. Many times I travel alone. I have stayed at this hotel 3 times. Twice by myself and once with my husband and our pet. I appreciate the level of professional and friendly hospitality offered by this hotel. Many times in the past I/we would push through to Cheyenne or Douglas. The consistency in cleanliness, professional and friendly attitudes, has made this hotel a great stop over destination.

The rooms are clean and fresh smelling. They have nice décor and the beds are comfortable. This hotel is pet friendly which is nice. The staff is helpful and caring and have always been friendly. We have stayed multiple times and is our go to spot when in the area.

We drove from Rawlins to Wheatland to attend my grandson's basketball tournament. Sheila greeted us and checked us in. She made sure to give a ground floor room as requested. She also took the time to ask if we had a best western rewards and then sign us up electronically since we didn't. We were given a nice welcome basket. It had apple, orange, crackers, a plate and eating utensils. I thought that was very forward thinking of the hotel. We stayed in room 105. The hotel is an exterior entrance and is well kept. The room is updated with flat screen, small fridge, and microwave. The hotel is older, but the rooms seem to be renovated. The tub, toilet part of the bathroom is older but well kept and functional. It is a card entry system. The beds are very comfortable. I don't know what kind of mattress' they are using but waking up without back pain was very nice. The staff is very friendly and will help in any way they can. There were families with kids on both sides of us and we never heard any sound of either room. Either they have the quietest children in the world or the rooms are well insulated. The breakfast is pre-prepared food, but there is a lot of it, and a lot of choices. omlettes, fried egg patties, sausage (both link and patty), bacon, scrambled. They have a make your own yogurt area. It has packaged yogurt in the fridge below and then they provide toppings like granola to put on top. A waffle maker, biscuits and gravy, bagels, muffins, fruit and all the regular cereals. Its all labeled and the hot stuff is freshly prepared and kept hot. If you are passing through on Hwy 25, I highly recommend this hotel for your stay.

We usually just drive past Wheatland on I25 but our trip timing called for an overnight there. The Torchlite was a great choice! Convenient, quiet, clean, comfortable and pet-friendly with a great breakfast to start the next day. Pets and humans receive a delightful gift bag at check-in. The staff were helpful and friendly and we were greeted by a beautiful sunrise.

Late at night, with expected bad weather ahead, we stopped by to spend the night. Hotel staff were extremely friendly. The bed was very comfortable and check out was easy . Breakfast was fair to me , but my husband enjoyed his .

This hotel is excellent! The room was nice and clean, even though they do allow pets. Comfortable beds and pillows. Clean bathroom and shower. In-room Keureg coffee and tea. Very quiet. Breakfast was more than I could have expected: cheese omelets, biscuits and gravy, waffles, plus cereal, toast, etc. They even gave us a gift basket at check in with snacks and water in it, which was so nice after a long day on the road. I just wish we had a reason to get stuck in Wheatland again!!

One of the many wonderful things about this hotel was the customer service was exemplary. They provided us with a gift basket and chocolate chip cookies. Deb called soon after we were in our room to see if everything was acceptable. The beds were comfortable, and the room was newly remodeled. Breakfast was tasty and many choices were offered. They even had three kinds of yogurt, one of which was Noosa yogurt; that's like dessert for breakfast. We were also very pleased with the price! Our kids were sad that the pool wasn't inside.

Happened upon this gem while travelling. Front desk staff was amazing! Rooms very clean, everything in good working condition. Standard buffet breakfast, but was hot and fresh. The breakfast area was very clean as well. Just off the freeway, so easy in and out; however, very little freeway noise. We were presented with a gift basket upon check in which included bottled water, fruit, muffin, granola bar, crackers.....was a nice treat!

Very clean and the staff was awesome!! The breakfast was terrific! I was there on a business trip from Phoenix. Overnight the weather turned to crap. I woke up with snow on my rental car. The staff knew that I needed to get back to Denver to catch a flight and they showed concern for my drive due to snow and black ice on the roads. What an awesome crew!!

An older style BW but clean and comfortable. Motel staff extremely nice and helpful. They make you feel at home. Breakfast was good. Rooms are clean and as always, BW usually has the best beds in the industry.

We love this place , right off the highway , gift baskets for pets and people . Beds are comfy , room was awesome , easy check in and check out . We will continue to use this facility on our trips back to Oklahoma.

So Glad that there was a Best Western Motel to get into and off the highway during a heavy snow ... The roads were complete white out conditions... The Best Western sign was a great relief... They made sure I had a nice warm room and welcomed my dog as well!!! The breakfast was also well appreciated the next morning!!! I might make a habit of stopping there more often when traveling that direction...

I only stayed here for one night, but the experience I had was one of the best I have ever had. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. They provide every guest with a welcome basket. You receive a call shortly after arriving in your room to ensure everything meets your needs and expectations. There were extra towels, extra soap and plenty of pillows. There was also a hand written note from the housekeeper thanking me for my stay. This is not the Ritz-Carlton, but the value and the experience were exceptional.

Every year for the last 4 years in October my daughter, son-in- law and I stay at the Best Western hotel in Wheatland. We have always been very pleased with there accommodations. I am an amputee and have always been accommodated with a room in the lower level eliminating the need to haul luggage to the second level. This is very much appreciated.

We received a great Best Western welcome. The staff was very accommodating. Rooms are clean and quiet and the free breakfast was well done. Staff recommended a great restaurant for dinner which was within walking distance from the hotel. There is amble parking and it is well lit. Would definitely stay at the Torchlite again!

The room was immaculate, very comfortable. There was more than enough towels and coffee. Breakfast was great, a lot of it, and variables. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would HIGHLY suggest this hotel!

After a long day on the road we found this Hotel to be just what we needed. Room was spacious, very clean and the bed was comfortable. The building is a bit dated, bathroom was small, but again for a one night stay it was perfect. The front desk staff was very welcoming upon checking in and check out. We did not have the complementary breakfast, but it looked to be the standard fare offered at most hotels. Mexican restaurant next door had great food at reasonable prices

This Best Western motel has been one of the most highly rated by myself and spouse. All the amenities you want in a motel/hotel were there and we so greatly needed. Thank you to all your staff! We will certainly recommend your hotel/motel to all who will be in the area.

The Best Western Torchlite was a little more compact than other Best Western Motels but had all the amenities. There was a gift to us of fruit, water and snacks that was very nice. It was also next door to a restaurant that was where we had dinner.

If there is a better lodging experience in Wheatland I have never found it. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and very comfortable. Thee bed was better then I have at home. Overall one of the best hotel stays I have had in a very long time.

My impression was that this is a well maintained facility with some updates so that it is up to Best Western standards. Ours was a pleasant stay with no issues. The front desk staff was helpful with our questions concerning local attractions.

I had broke down on the interstate, had to be towed and needed a room. Best Western is always my first choice in stays, and this time proved to be the right call again. Rooms were clean, cozy, good AC and well performing WiFi. Never stayed here before, but Best Westerns seem to hold their standards where ever you find one. Lacey at the front desk couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful, and sociable. Good eats next door, just a short walk across the parking lot. Thanks to all!

I just adore the Best Western Torchllite. Love everything about this place: the people whom staff it, the owner, Cooper, the welcome gift of a wonderful fruit, pastry, chocolates, crackers from the owner given to each room. Beds are comfy. Housekeeping does a wonderful job and are highly trained to look for all to make sure the guests are comfy and safe. The staff is remarkable, professional, knowledgeable and make sure you are comfy, safe, and have everything you need for comfort. The pool and hot tub are so great: especially after a loooong workday. That pool is cleaner than mine and I'm a fastidious person! The property is jept up nicely. Yep, it's older but better than new!! This property is loved and cared for by the owner and all who work there. The rooms are well appointed, the WIFI/or wired net is great (had not one issue with transmitting my data). Susie, the owner is super. Her father built this property and she cares for it with such grace: in fact I believe her father would be very proud of her.WHat a way to honor him! Breakfast is better than going to a restaurant...in fact it is breakfast...not just a continental breakfast: waffles, French toast, eggs, breakfast burritos with salsa, oatmeal, yougurt, cereal, bagels, muffins, toast, sausage, bacon, eggs in a couple different ways, juice, coffee, teas, milk...oh so more. At night you can make a yogurt parfait, have juice, coffee, tea, cookies. You NEVER go hungry here. Thankyou, Susie, Lacey, Deb, Alice, Cooper, Jason, Gloria, Sandra, Jason, the pool and maintenance staff and all I have forgotten to mention. Gem of a property!!

Rooms were very clean, all staff very nice and helpful. Beds must be brand new, hard but comfortable. Welcome basket was a nice treat. Breakfast was very nice. Free internet was fast and was easy to hook up to.

This is the most wonderful hotel! The manager wants everyone to feel welcome. She gives every guest a gift basket, even doggy gift baskets!. Food is available all night not just at breakfast. The breakfast is wonderful.Scrambled eggs, omelets ,biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, waffles, I can't even remember everything that was served. Very clean, staff all very friendly, pool and hot tub nice. the set up of the room was roomy and tasteful. Great place to stay!!!

Management does a really nice job with this older hotel. Many extras outweigh any concerns about this being an older hotel. Nice outdoor pool, good exercise room, well done room upgrades that make this hotel feel like you are really happy to be there. Great bed. Give this hotel a try!

We had traveled to Nebraska to see the Eclipse and on the return flight out of Denver, we were swept up in traffic and need a place to stay that night. I used my Best Western App and found the Torchlite Inn in Wheatland, Wy. Susie took my call and made sure we had a room available. I have been to many Best Westerns across the country and many newer ones, but i have never been treated so well by the staff as i was at this Inn. The rooms were large and clean. We had a Kurig Coffee maker with choices of coffee and tea. I was given a basket with cookies, fruit and other treats as i checked in. There was a hand made towel art basket of shampoos etc in the room. The TV was large and the room was cool and quiet. I can't say enough about finding a clean, safe haven from the miseries of travel. This fit every need we had. Thanks Susie! You guys are the best.

Our vehicle broke down while leaving Wyoming after the 2017 solar eclipse and we got stuck in Wheatland. We stayed at the Best Western Torchlite, and we were very impressed by the friendly reception, the snacks and drinks available in the lobby 24/7, the wonderful pool/hot tub to relax in after a frustrating day, and the large number of amenities available in our room. I was also impressed to notice that the pool and hot tub had a lift for handicapped accessibility. We were very glad that the room had a microwave, fridge, and freezer, in addition to the standard ice machine, since our cooler had long since run out of ice. We were unsure when our vehicle would be working again so I spoke to the owner (who came to our table at breakfast) about storing our luggage after the checkout time and she assured me we could have as late of a checkout as we needed. This hotel was exceptionally friendly and accommodating for us, especially given they were a small town location just coming off of several days of being swamped by eclipse travelers.

Very comfortable beds! Stayed here the night of Solar eclipse when the staff and town was under great pressure. They handled it with grace. Many other hotels in Wyoming inflated their rates, gouging customers. This place did not!!

Great location for a stop. Next to a car wash, gym, shops, and restaurants. Comfortable rooms, great tv package, and wonderful beds. Breakfast choices are amazing. I've not seen such a full breakfast in my travels lately. I will be staying here again!

Handicap accessibility for my daughter into/out of the room was difficult and impossible into the hotel lobby. Add a few annoying maintenance issues with water and air conditioning and you have a stay not worth the price. If you are disabled in a wheelchair, then you are better off staying somewhere else.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Someone actually understand customer service!I was only able to stay for one night, being in town on business. The hotel is conveniently located and offers some of the best customer service I have experienced anywhere. Upon check-in, the manager made sure I was signed up for all reward problems, gave me a gift pack, and offered freshly baked cookies. Within 20 minutes of arriving in my room, the front desk called to make sure everything with my room was satisfactory. Although not new, the room was nicely remodeled, and comfortable. The pool and hottub were perfect temperatures, and breakfast was nicely done. The breakfast area was clean and well-supplied, which can be rather rare. Housekeeping even changed the linens in the room during the 15 minutes I was at breakfast because I accidentally put out the "please make up room" sign instead of "do not disturb". I look forward to staying at the Torchlight Inn on my next visit, and won't even look for anywhere to stay.

All around great experience. Staff was not only informative but all around great. We only stayed 1 night going through but would recommend hotel to everyone. Rooms clean, good options for breakfast. In preparation for eclipse desk clerk gave us great information about filling up fuel, prices were to double the next day after our stay.

We used to choose BW occasionally but now seek them out as we travel. Staff goes out of their way to serve. This one gave us a goodie basket when we checked in and provided fresh baked cookies to go with the always available coffee.

We really enjoyed our visit at this Best Western. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We loved the cookies in the lobby!!! Oh and they gave us a grab-and-go basket with water, fruit and food items. Very nice touch! They were very helpful finding us a place to eat. One of our best experiences at a Best Western.

This particular Best Western seems to excel above the rest...we think it a bit older but definitely been kept clean and up to date. The staff extremely helpful...we needed to stop for the night and just randomly picked this place...we were VERY HAPPY with it.

Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Easy access and plenty of parking even for those hauling a trailer or traveling in an RV. We were surprised to receive a nice snack basket at check-in and there was even Bath and Body Works basket in the room.We would definitely stay there again.

The rooms were clean and comfy. Snacks and drinks available throughout the day and evening. Restaurants near by are in walking distance. Heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi. FULL breakfast in the morning.

Excellent place to stay when traveling , wonderful people . will always stay there when traveling that direction , have already told others the owner and her son joined us for breakfast and gave us a card with her number , so if we had any trouble on our trip to give her a call and the would assist in any way they . This was a positive experience from the moment we booked our room. The staff here works hard from the minute you step in the door to make you feel welcome and to make sure that your stay is a great one. We received a lovely welcome basket and helpful suggestions for dining. Once in the room you could tell that the caring didn't stop at the front desk. The room was neat, clean and looked to be recently updated. Breakfast was great with a nice variety to choose from and a clean place to enjoy the meal. We had pleasant conversations with the staff and manager Suzanne made sure we knew her help was available should we need anything. We will think of this place first when we need to stay in Wheatland!!!

Myself and several friends arrived late in the afternoon after riding about 500 miles , 10 hours and exhausted. The lady on the desk was nice and patient, I think it was Deb. She was so helpful in recommending a place close by to eat. The next morning breakfast was great and check out was easy with Lacey. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Everything was great. Very pleasant staff . Easy location to access from I 25. Would visit here again if the need arises. Visited with the owner and she was very nice and helpful with ideas to see things in the area. Oregon trails are very close to the hotel. We went to that area and drove around the lake. Lots of fun.

We had a wonderful experience! Upon checking-in we received a welcome basket. Then on top of that, they also gave us a doggie basket full of goodies for the pet we were traveling to pick-up. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay a great one. Breakfast was delicious and they even had beverages available at all times. We were so happy that we stayed at the Torchlite!!! The Dog basket was amazing!!!

The staff was very helpful and friendly! Room was clean and breakfast had a nice selection. Coffee was available at all times and they had flavored coffee creamers. This makes me happy :-) pool was just the right size for my boys. I would stay here again!

After getting stranded in Wyoming with a flat tire, a dog, and my 15 month old daughter, I stopped in Wheatland to stay the night. Fate brought me to the Best Western Torchlite Inn which, I was relieved to discover, welcomed pets, had free breakfast, and had rooms available. After a really terrible day, I walked in and was greeted by Sheila, who got me a pet-friendly room on the bottom floor, and gave me a gift basket for me and my daughter, and then to my surprise, one for my dog. In the morning, we had many choices for hot breakfast, a high chair was provided for my daughter, and I was greeted by the owner, Susie. Upon learning that we were waiting for a new tire and were traveling another 250 miles alone, she gave me her card and insisted I call if I had any trouble on the road. She also made sure that the front desk clerk knew I may need a late checkout while I waited for the tire. Wheatland is a very, very small town and I didn't expect much,  but I was blown away at the kindness, hospitality, and service I received from Susie and her crew. The room was clean, my dog was not only allowed, but welcomed as a beloved family member, and the safety of my daughter and I was never in question. I wanted to make sure you knew what a wonderful asset you have representing the BW brand. If I knew that my dog was welcome at any Best Western in the country and this was the service I could expect wherever I went, I would stay at Best Western exclusively. No, it wasn't fancy or modern, but my daughter, my dog, and I were safe, comfortable, and well taken care of.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's not a new property but the service far exceeded any we've received at the newer cookie-cutter hotels. The room and common areas were spotlessly clean; everything worked flawlessly (including the Wifi); and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The fruit basket upon arrival and the hot breakfast options were nice bonuses. We would definitely stay here again.

We were very happy with this place. From the initial reservations all the way through our stay, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They worked to get us into our rooms as fast as they could. They had good recommendations for dinner, and opened breakfast early for us. Definitely recommend this place when in Wheatland.

Upon arrival, we were given a members gift bag with all kinds of goodies. They had cookies, yogurt with toppings available 24/7. In the room was a Keurig coffee maker, tons of TV channels, and a great night's sleep. The breakfast bar offered absolutely everything you might want: hot cooked eggs & meats, french toast, waffles, cereals, yogurts, & fruit. This is an old-style motel layout so you can park right in front of your room. The only negative was the lack of enough outlets.

This place was one of the best that i have stayed in in a long time. They called the room to make sure everything was okay and to my standards. Room was clean the bed was great quality thank you all so much i will be back. They gave me a fruit basket witch was needed in the middle of the night.In the morning the hot food was fresh the place was clean they had everything i needed. the staff was friendly and helpful to me

Excellent hotel to stay at! Staff very friendly. I dealt with both late night staff upon check-in and day staff on checkout, both ladies were very pleasant and helpful. Room was large, clean and great air conditioner. Décor was very nice and hotel very clean. I was very surprised to find out hotel was over 20 years old as you couldn't tell from rooms or condition of facility. Suggest you have earplugs (which I always pack) if not used to traffic as they are off Interstate and we could hear traffic.

We came to Wheatland for our Son's wedding. The staff were so helpful and good to us. The breakfast is the best we've ever had. This is a comfortable, secure hotel that is a great place for families. They even have a hot tub and patio area with barbecue grills. When we come to Wheatland to visit family, there is nowhere else we'd rather stay.

We are on our way to Denver and decided to stop here for the night. It's right off the interstate so it was easy to find and get to. They have lots of discount rates so make sure to ask about those. Sheila checked us in and was absolutely wonderful! Very polite and professional. The room is clean, quite and cozy. There was a towel decoration that had shampoo, conditioner and soap inside it that I thought was very neat. We were even given a gift basket filled with goodies. They also have free breakfast from 6:00-9:00. This was a great find and I would definitely stay here again!!

This hotel is very well managed and it shows in all the little things. A lot of hotels charge a lot more and aren't as clean, welcoming and taking care of the little things- soft towels, excellent coffee, a welcoming small gift (maybe only for BW rewards members?) and follow thru by staff to make sure everythng is just right! Even the comlimantary breakfast is far better than a lot of more expensive hotels. Cudos to the manager and staff - the service and cleanliness is appreciated!

The rooms and breakfast area were dumpy. But worst of all, I accidentally double booked my reservation so they charged me for a no-show even though I still ended up staying there the next day. Technically within their right to do so, but really bad business practice.

Beds were comfy. Amenities were awesome, loved having a Keurig coffee machine in the room. Breakfast was outstanding! Pool is very well kept. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking is great. We enjoyed our stay.

The room was very clean! The A/C worked very well and wasn't too noisy. The office staff at check-in and out was extremely helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was probably the best 'free" breakfast we have ever encountered. So many choices, hot and fresh tasting. The eating area was very clean. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Went on a family vacation this year I started out Minnesota South Dakota Wyoming Montana Utah Colorado and back through Wyoming and South Dakota. Took my grandchildren with us with my daughter and her husband. Every time we were to get a room they had asked for a best Western, And I have to say they never let us down.

I came along with my husband and we stoped at Best Western in Wheatland Wyoming. The rooms are very nice and clean Breakfast was great. breakfast attendant was very sweet as she asked to let her know if we needed something else. at arrival staff was very nice but oh what a surprise I took in the morning with the two gals that were at the front desk. I have never been in a hotel where employees sit around just to talk bad about co workers I mean this girls were really going at it talking so ill about another co worker. I almost said something but just bit my tounge. who ever the manager is needs to have a serous talk with them I was appalled on how much venom these girls were sptting out. my husband compared them to a pit of snakes. I feel bad for the other person who has to deal with this girls. I don't know who you are sweetie but if you ever see this I want you to ask you to get out of there now! look for another job. and management. please talk to these two instigators that is what they seem to be. I don't know their names but one has purple hair and the other is a heavier set girl. my husband and I left with a very bad taste of the employees in the morning.

We really enjoyed our stay in Wheatland. Very nice friendly staff & very clean. Breakfast bar was well stocked & provided quite an assortment of things to eat. Your competitors in the big cities could learn some country style manners from your staff in Wheatland & Sydney Nebraska. Highly recommend both hotels.

We were traveling across Wyoming and returning to Colorado and decided to stop in middle of night instead of driving straight through. Such a nice staff in middle of the night, clean rooms, great breakfast the next morning and GM was friendly and helpful.

My wife and I were driving towards the USA west coast and as it was getting late, we drove into the next town, Wheatland, for an overnight stay. Even though the town is a speck on the map, the reception we received was better than most of the larger hotels we have used. We received a lovely gift on check in, had a very comfortable room and had a great meal at a Mexican restaurant next door. Thank you very much for a very comfortable stay in your lovely motel.

Old hotel friendly staff. The room next to us had horrible smell to it only know that as it was our friends staying there. Our boys on baseball team stayed at Hotel down street... wishing we would have stayed there instead even with the noise

Stayed here for couple nights. Convenient and close to I-25. Safeway and eateries up and down the street within minutes of driving. Check in and out was friendly and efficient and came with a free basket of 2 bottle water, some snacks and fruits. Bed comfy. Shower strong and hot. WiFi is free and good throughout. Breakfast came with lodging and quite a few choice. Will not leave you hungry. Walls a little thin, so you can hear people outside, next door or above. Other than that, it's a good decent choice for this small town.

The entire Front Desk Staff went out of their way to make every aspect of my stay pleasant. From the welcome basket when I first arrived, signing me up for Best Western points, to checkout. Everyone was polite, professional, and willing to help resolve any issues or concerns. I would like to point out that the Hotel was extremely busy due to the Outage at the Power Plant. had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with the General Manager, Suzanne Cozad, CHA. I would like to compliment Ms. Cozad on recruiting, and retaining her employees. A special thank you Gloria, a 20 plus year member of the Hospitality Team, Gloria went above and beyond to make everyone's stay as pleasant as possible.

Staying at the Torchlite is almost as Welcoming as being home, the staff is always helpful and friendly. Everyone treats you like family, even if you only stay for a short time. All together a very pleasant experience.

My wife and I were doing leisure travel and on the way home we decided to drive until we found a place to stop. It was by chance we stayed at the Wheatland, WY Best Western, but the service and staff made it a very enjoyable visit. They care and they show it in everything they do, this is a little gem that you shouldn't miss. The price is only surpassed by the staff.

Trip Advisor reviews tell a story of a good place to stay and I also agree. Breakfast was good. If you closely there are tons of options for everyone. The room was nice and tons of channels on their tv. Excellent mexican restaurant next door.

This is a way a motel should be run! A rarity these days. Anyway the staff can help you they will. We were on our way home to Casper after purchasing a 35 foot travel trailer in Colorado. The roads became nasty so decided to stay at the Torchlite. I had looked on the internet before leaving home for motels, in case we had to stop along the way. We like Best Westerns so I saw The Torchlite in Wheatland and they had RV parking. When we arrived the maintenance man was plowing the parking lot. He plowed a spot specifically for us in the RV parking area and then later even asked us if he could help us with our luggage. It was below zero outside and the maintenance man loaned us a long extension cord to hook up our pickup's block heater to the parking lot's front porch lamp. He also plowed a trail to the restaurant next door for us. Incredible customer service! Suzanne, the owner and manager, is the ultimate hostess. Gave us a welcoming fruit basket upon our arrival. She is the second generation to own this motel. She said she is keeping up with her father's traditions of customer service. She is doing a wonderful job. As with any 40 year old property the room was a trifle outdated but was very clean and comfortable. AND it was warm when we stepped into it! I have done housekeeping in many motels over the years so I look for certain things. This motel is CLEAN! The breakfast was good. Many extras like the little omelets with cheese. My husband and I would definitely stay there again and we would absolutely recommend it.

Keep driving north or south. Your back and pocketbook will thank you. I wish I would have known how bad flags beds were. I would highly recommend this to my competition! Happy sleeping. You'all likely feel better if you sleep in your car or on the floor. I hope my competition stays here. Who calls you three times after check in at 10:30 pm to see if your room is okay? When you likely already know the answer? Seriously I have stayed at the holiday inn properties north and south of here and I will do it again given the choice.

Needed a place to stop for the night on a recent trip. Ended up here. Older Motel that could use some upgrades but overall comfortable and clean. Front desk called shortly after arrival to ensure we were satisfied with the room. Decent breakfast in the morning with plenty of options. Close to I-25 but with room fan (I always bring a portable fan as well) on I didn't notice any noise.

Staff are Absolutely wonderful!! I work where customer service is very important I am always looking and listening. The staff did a great job with that. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. Peaceful, relaxing, the best part It was clean!! Don't judge by outside appearance. Well done Best Western Torchlite.

We always look for BW when traveling. This is an older motel & the manager has plans for a new property. The manager is a very friendly lady, giving a welcome gift & always ready to fix anything wrong.

This is suppose to be an informative review and not something that becomes a task or requirement in order to provide you something with which to evaluate the staff of the franchise. I fail to see how you are encouraging people to do so when you place requirements to complete certain sections with minimum requirements.

I had forgotten how nice it is to be able to pull up to your door and unload. The room had been nicely redone and was very comfortable. Great beds. We were given a gift basket at check-in that contained water, fruit, granola bar and other goodies. What a surprise and a nice thought! The staff was very friendly and helpful. You might want to request a room on the east end which would be farther away from the highway noise. It wasn't too bad though.

We just needed a place near Glendoe State Park and the Torchlite was great, easy to find, great people and clean quality stay. Breakfast food was tremendous but lobby is tight, not a lot of seating. The Pizza Hut next door was also super convenient.

Upon checking in, the desk clerk greeted us with a gift basket of fruit, granola bar, muffin and mints. In room Kuerig with coffee/tea pods was a bonus. Fairly quiet rooms, great bed. Breakfast was sufficient.

I would highly recommend this place. Nice and clean rooms with updated decor. Entire staff is very friendly and truly cares about guest comfort. They give you a welcome basket contains water and snacks. The GM/owner, Suzanne is just great. She went around the room at breakfast giving each guest her card in case they run into any problems while in WY.

Being platinum card holders were were given welcome gift, a plate with orange, Apple, two bottles of water, muffin, two chocolate mints, granola bar, one pack breadsticks, one crackers, knife, fork, wrapped up with ribbon and thank you card attached. We had stayed at a few Best western properties on this trip and their welcome gift was a small bottle of water and a granola bar. This place goes out of its way to welcome you there. The Window lock was not working so that was kind of a safety problem since we were on first floor, tv was too high up. Not enough outlets in room, there was out door pool on property and there was a Pizza Hut across the parking lot.

thoughtful staff and very clean room. They even gave us a "Welcome Gift Basket" with water and fruit and little snacks. I would recommend highly staying here. The breakfast buffet was good and stayed open to accommodate us.

We were pleasantly surprised by the welcome basket and personal note from the owner and staff at this clean, friendly, and comfortable motel. The breakfast was Real Food, and served up with a smile. Older facility, but very clean. Staff was great. Try the waffles at breakfast. Fill up the cup, put it in and leave it alone. Decent value all in all. Rooms are clean and well stocked. Hotel is pet friendly with designated rooms for that function. Good access to highway, good access to restaurants. We selected Mexican restaurant walking through parking lot. Did not partake in swimming pool but looked decent.

This motel is well managed. The staff was very organized, polite, and courteous. The motel fully met my expectations. It was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Making reservations, checking in, and checking out was a breeze. I had no problems and will stay there again when I require a motel in the area.

on our way to Mt. Rushmore. This seemed to be a good stop ,coming from Denver.we went on thro Neb. The rooms are small, and but pretty handy. there are steps from the room to the parking lot that could cause trouble, if not careful it is an old motel in a small town, but there are 2 rest. nearby.

Room was very nice - so was breakfast. The only restaurant I saw nearby was Pizza Hut. Loved the little goody basket - a nice treat after a long day. Breakfast room was a tad small. The only downside (for me) was that there were a couple steps to get into my 1st floor room.

We were on our way back from Denver, had planned a one day trip. But was to tired to travel home, stayed here, room was very clean, breakfast was great and service was outstanding, we enjoyed our stay.

Although this is an older smaller hotel, it's staff is very pleasant and caring. The price did go up a bit but its because the owner's are builing a new hotel with a water park right next to this one and I believe it will go over very well. The accomodations they have at this hotel are great for what they do offer. I'd stay here as long as I can get a spot!

This is a very nice motel. We were given a basket of goodies when checking in and it has one of the best breakfasts we have had a hotel, wide variety of food to select from. Nice rooms and nice staff. We would stay again if in the area.

The staff at the Best Western in Wheatland, WY go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. Once you have been assigned your room, the staff will call just to make sure your room is acceptable and meets your standards. I appreciate the staff at this Best Western Motel. We stayed only one night, but would have stayed longer! The staff was amazing, the little snack pack they gave when we arrived was great the fresh baked cookies when we arrive was tummies! Room was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was really tasty and and a lot to choose from.

I tend to be a bit of a hotel snob and was apprehensive but I LOVE it here! The staff is super sweet, we got a gift basket, the room is very clean, fresh baked cookies at the office, comfy bed, quiet, easy access to the hwy, feels like home. I am beyond pleased!!!

This Best Western is a great place to stay. The employees are very friendly and caring. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is very good with every type of breakfast items that you would expect from Best Western.

Overall this hotel matches most. The housekeeping was fair condition except for the cob webs in the corner and the uncleaned coffee pot. I would stay here agin if needed but most likely would go to the Super 8 first considering the price versus the over all experience

Unfortunately this hotel did have flies even in the cold weather. When I went to the front desk with my coworker, the front office staff offered us a can of bug spray. My coworker was told to spray her air conditioner unit. I also experienced several flies in my room, but not to the same extent. My room was also poorly cleaned, the sink area had visible dirt.

I was on business with another recent poster and can verify that there was, in fact, and issue with flies. Management seems to think that this is ludicrous (which it most certainly is), but it definitely happened. We spoke to Deb, the front desk manager, to see what could be done to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, a can of bug spray does not a solution create. Our company travel agency also called and spoke to several people, including Deb, regarding the situation.

I unfortunately had to stay at this hotel while on business in Wyoming. The room itself was what was expected from a motel-style set up; aka, it was trying to be clean but actually wasn't. The computer system was down upon arrival so I had to wait until it was up and running before I was actually able to pay. The worst part was the flies. At least 50 flies were buzzing around my room, their carcasses falling on the floor as I killed them. Pretty certain there were maggots in the air conditioning unit (the front desk manager agreed with this hypothesis) causing an incessant stream of them entering my room. I was actually with two other colleagues in two separate rooms who also had flies. When I went to the front desk with my friend to request another room, the lady at the front said that they only had smoking rooms available, then proceeded to give me an enormous can of insect spray. That pretty much sums up the entire experience. I'm disgusted.

We were in an accident on I 25 and were taken here from the hospital by ambulance. The front desk clerks at night and in the morning were extremely kind and helpful!! The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. They were giving goodie baskets to all that checked in! Very happy we pick to go here!

Staying here tonight because I have business in a town nearby tomorrow morning (the town I'm going to doesn't have a hotel), and I must say that I'm plesantly surprised by the Best Western Torchlite Inn. Upon checking in, I was handed a cute little welcome basket as a "thank you" for choosing to stay at their hotel. I was also invited to enjoy tea and cookies in the lobby. The rooms are clean and have fridges and microwaves, etc. About an hour after checking in, the front desk called to check in and make sure everything in my room was ok. I was really impressed by that! So, if you happen to find yourself in Wheatland and need a place to stay for the night, pick this place over the Super 8 - you'll be glad you did! Pricey for the town, clean, nice, little to close to the interstate for noise, rooms are clean. Staff is friendly, breakfast was a good choice. Now when it comes to the Bed, I would want another choice. Mine seem a bit to hard for quality sleep.

Older hotel but well kept. Clean and comfy rooms. The gift basket is a nice touch. There is some construction going on but it was quiet. Staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast looked good but we didn't eat. really enjoyed the Kuerig in the room!

We didn't plan on staying in town as long as we did. Car troubles kept us there. The people at the hotel made it a pleasant stay. Expessed what was going on and they did everything they could tomake it as painless as possible. With extra late check-out and their understanding. Will definitely be going back.

A great place too meet for running around south eastern Wyoming for a week plus hunting, fishing and seeing the sites . Close to old Fort Laramie and mountain areas such as Laramie Peak , Morton Pass, and the Greyrocks Lakes area.

This is an older facility that is being nicely upgraded. The manager bends over backwards to make guests feel at home. We were given a gift bag at check in, containing water, fruit, a granola bar, candy, crackers and cutlery. Very nice touch. Breakfast had a great many choices and was kept hot and fresh. The town is clean and cute. It was a positive experience all around.

We stopped at the Best Western in Wheatville on our way from the Black Hills to Boulder - upon arrival we were presented with a gift basket with snacks, and the owner called to check in on us when we were settled in our room for about a half an hour. We went to the Mexican restaurant across the way for dinner (two minute walk) and it was so good - delicious food and reasonable prices. We got a ground floor room with two queen beds - everyone slept soundly - the room was clean, quiet, and cool. Breakfast was super! A huge selection, and they even rustled up a high chair for my daughter. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Visiting while on the way to visit Ft Laramie. There are not too many choices around the area, but this was a very nice find. The property is a bit older, but well taken care of. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Beds very good. What makes this motel stand out is the friendly staff. Some of the nicest people we've met in quite a while. They also provide a gift basket to their guests!! Wow, you only see that in fancy hotels-----if even then! If you visit, which I would recommend, please know that the outside of the buildiing doesn't look as nice as the rooms on the inside. I would supose that the harsh Wyoming winters take their toll. Very Nice

We stayed here for a night while doing cross country road trip. Checked in late and got impressed receiving welcome kit containing water, fruits and snacks. We felt that the building is little old but good enough for stay a few nights. Breakfast was good and staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is a perfect place to stay the night when travelling through the plains. There is nothing much to see in Wheatland but the hotel is very nice. The rooms are of the good standard BW quality with a nice Keurig machine for some good coffee. On arriving there was a gift basket in the room with some water and snacks. Nice! The pool was very nice as well. The breakfast room was pretty small but had everything we needed.
