    « Good »

Had a wonderful weekend attending a wedding at the Rembrandt, some bedrooms could do with a little updating, but its in an excellent location and plenty of parking, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, very good buffet breakfast and plenty of choice of food in the bar and restaurant.

    « Excellent break »

We have stayed here a fair few times now and never been let down. Rooms do vary but in our opinion the whole package on offer makes up for a room that may be a little "tired", that said we now know the better ones and request one if available. Ample parking, ideally located, lovely staff and as good a brekki you will find. Yep, we will return soon!

    « Deserves another star! »

This hotel has plenty of car parking, which many in Weymouth dont. First class hotel in every way... Room comfortable and spotlessly clean...Food delicious and generous portions...Amenities were great, gym, swimming pool, spa, sauna, jacuzzi, all free for guests...And above all the staff, friendly, polite, helpful and efficient, all happy to go the extra mile to give their guests a memorable stay. Thanks guys We'll be back!

« Good intentions, but tired »

This place is typical of a hotel which was top of its class back in the 70s. The only problem is, not much has changed since. I took the kids and had a lovely time - it's not one for avoiding, but don't expect anything above functional. It is close to the Sealife Centre, which is why we stayed. The reception and the staff portray the Carry On era which it once served - although they do take cards, and the service was fine. Your room key is a key, and the views are not views. The bar is of the same expectation - standard lagers and spirits. The restaurant was more adventurous, but the setting not so. The swimming pool is fine for kids but changing rooms are limited. All in, come here if you are looking for a stopover and you need to sleep.

« Very good hotel close to town and beach »

Stayed at the Rembrandt for the weekend. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful (including when leaving our key in the room!!). We were able to make use of all of the spa facilities which we found to be great, certainly helping to complete a relaxing stay. We eat in the restaurant on both evenings, the first my wife had the carvary, which she enjoyed. My meal was not so good! However my second meal was up to al acart standards. Superb! The finishing touch was the quality of the buffet breakfast. I have seen some reviews stating the hotel needed up dating. I can only comment on our room, which was in excellent decorative order, clean and warm. In fact we did not notice any part of the hotel that needed attention. I would recommend this hotel and we intend to return again!

« The Staff make it good »

Best Western Hotels should be doing better. The Rembrandt is a five minute walk from the beach at Weymouth, and another fifteen minute stroll along the front takes you into the old town and harbours. There are so many good reasons to visit Weymouth. This hotel needs a facelift and a bit of love. In truth, there is nothing dramatically wrong (I have given 4 stars), the place is just not very 'cuddly'. On arrival I was greeted by a very pleasant receptionist and signed in. I was pointed to my room and off I went. The room was not great, but, again, nothing awful to put my finger on. It was just a bit drab and showing the lack of attention the hotel is displaying. I was on my own but it wouldn't have been a nice room for a weekend break. There was a refrigeration condenser outside my window, which went right through the night. Light sleepers beware! Off to the bar, and another very friendly member of staff to look after me. The Spa was inviting but I never used it on this occasion. Looks good though. I decided to eat dinner in the restaurant. Yet more really attentive, friendly staff. The dining room lives up to the hotels general demeanour. Nothing wrong with it but a bit drab and canteenish. The food, on the other hand, was good. I ordered Deep Fried Prawns as a starter. I didn't like them very much but I take the blame for that. My friend had Koftas, which were delicious. My friend and I both had Steaks, and they were cooked well. Unfortunately, the Chips were cooked in the same oil as the Prawns (black mark to a Chef who can clearly cook). That said, a very nice meal. Breakfast is buffet style. Generally it was Ok but it's very difficult to get everything cooked well when under hot lights for a long period. As hotel breakfasts go, I wouldn't grumble. I like the place and I enjoyed my stay. I have used Best Western in Britain and abroad and they rarely let you down. At the price, this is a good option, but with a little bit of money, a little bit of love and some will, the hotel would live up to the marvellous staff.

« Rembrandt ticks the boxes »

Excellent facilities, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent service and gourmet food. Very good pool, gym and leisure facilities Very good executive rooms on third floor. Bathroom could do with updating as there was no heated towel rail. Dining room somewhat noisy as all hard furnishings and flooring.

    « A ver Pleasant Weekend »

A nicely situated hotel about 10 minutes from the seafront which is ideal as it will be less noisy especially in the summer. Our room was towards the back of the hotel and to be honest could do with a little update. Bathroom looks newly refurbished although a window blind rather than a net curtain would be better as we were on the ground floor. The old wooden fire doors could be replaced along with the key and lock system, other Best Westerns I've stayed in now used the keycard! Nice bar and restaurant, staff very pleasant and the place is clean and tidy. Nice swimming pool, and I believe there is also a gym and a sauna. We both booked a spa treatment which was lovely although there appears to be only the one room and the one member of staff completing all the treatments - she was fully booked all weekend which is great news, but the poor girl must have been very tired and the end of it all!!

    « Great value »

Stayed 11/12th November really friendly hotel , all staff were lovely and helpful , room big clean and tidy very soft towels (always welcome) booked on a BB and dinner first night food excellent and wine at sensible price, spa / pool big again lovely girl on reception If your going to Weymouth book this hotel just off the front a 15/20 min walk around the bay to the town centre Everyone was so friendly and helpful

    « 3rd stay »

« Very friendly. Nice and clean. »

2nd visit to this hotel. The room has been updated since last visit and the whole hotel seems to have improved, although it wasn't bad before, just slightly dated. The bedroom and bathroom were really clean and tidy and complete with full range of toiletries. In fact the whole of the hotel seemed nice and clean. Breakfast is good - standard quality, but probably what you would expect of a chain hotel. Staff are lovely and friendly and very helpful. . Although the room was cold when we returned and the central heating off timer, the reception staff happily brought us a portable electric heater which worked a treat. There bar area is pleasant to sit in which was quite busy this time. There's plenty of parking to the front with additional space to the rear, with access via a rear entrance door. Overall a good experience. We would happily rebook when next in Weymouth as you know what to expect.

    « Two night stay »

All the staff were pleasant and efficient. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The swimming pool and steam room great. The room was small and up two different flights of steps and no lift. The double glazed windows were running with condensation on the inside. Felt because we had booked through hotels.com did not get best of room. Other we saw looked a 100% better. Overall were satisfied with price we paid.

« Nothing special but does the job »

Reception was friendly and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. The room was warm and the bathroom was fine. But neither the wifi nor the phone worked. Breakfast wasn't very inspiring, just about average for this type of hotel. It's a five minute walk to the sea front. Overall there is nothing special about this hotel, it's very average but it does the job and I would be content to stay again for a night or two.

    2
    « Best Western Weymouth »

Room are old and needs to be renovated as soon as possible. Showers are not very good ie water going hot & cold. Room was noisy & too small. Internet wasn't stable. The staff was good, friendly and also helpful.

    5
    « Love the pool! »

We stay regularly on our trips to visit our grandson. Always book a family room. We love the swimming pool. The staff are always, friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The rooms are clean and comfortable. But the best bit is the breakfast!! Loads of choice and always tasty! The location means it is far enough away from the centre of town to be quiet at night but close enough to walk easily which is a huge bonus especially in summer.

    4
    « Nice Room! »

I stayed for a two night trip and found a hotel with all the facilities I needed with good parking, nice fitness centre, pleasant and happy staff and a clean room. No safe which would have been useful in the room but the food was ok.

    3
    « Not so good »

Been here 3times with grandchild caravan ok but bathroom smelt of urine asked at reception if they had any air freshner they said they would clean it but I already done that made no difference .we got up at 6 Sunday morning because we were going to meet family in bournemouth no hot water then tried to cook breakfast but no gas phoned emergency number someone should come at 8.30 no one came went to reception nice man came he had no gas bottles nothing he could do had to wait for someone to come from other site we had no gas for over 6 hours they gave us breakfast but we was to late to meet family now.i think haven should have replacement gas bottles on site .service not as good as it used to be

« rembrandt hotel a very happy place »

We spent two very very pleasant nights at this excellent hotel. The room was spacious and sparklingly clean as were the en-suite facilities. The 6ft bed was extremely comfortable and we were supplied with tea biscuits and coffee in the room. The food was superb with a great selection available both for dinner and breakfast. All of the staff had smiles on their faces and were always happy to stop for a chat. All in all a very enjoyable experience

    4
    « Good Value »

We (4 of us including our 15yr old boy and 13 yr old girl) had a whistle-stop tour of the Jurassic Coast. We stayed at the Best Western in Weymouth and had dinner at Enzo's then in the morning went to the hotel's gym and pool, working up an appetite for their big and very tasty breakfast. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the staff in the leisure centre particularly so.

    5
« Fab hotel, ideal facilities. »

Looking for a nice hotel with indoor pool in Weymouth is not easy so The Rembrandt met all our expectations in many respects. Warm friendly welcome from all the staff we met and dealt with, good quality food in the restaurant reasonably priced and a pleasant bar offering food also. The bedrooms very comfortable, good beds no doubt could be a bit warm in mid summer as no a/c but in autumn ideal. The leisure facilities for a 5 year old water baby was superb, a good sized pool with large infant child play area and a good pool size for a reasonable swim. A small hot tub, sauna (extra) gym and treatments offered for massages, need to book in advance as they were busy on our visit. The restaurant offered a carvery which was very good, the menu also a wide choice of items some locally produced but all good value.

« Good in parts First class staff and food. »

We stayed at this hotel for a week. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of the sea front. There are plenty of attractions in and around Weymouth. We recommend the Tank Museum. We gave the hotel a very good rating because of the friendly staff and excellent food. Always plenty of choice and you can have as much as you want.

    « Disappointing »

Having stayed at the Best Western Connaught in Bournemouth we assumed The Rembrandt would be of similar standard. It was far from it. We booked for 4 nights for a romantic break and they gave us probably the worst room they could find. Also i have never known the full bill to be taken from my account 2 weeks before. The room was positioned in an alley with walls as the only view. We could'nt even see what the weather was like. The room was big enough but the bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom stank. There was also renovations going on in the room opposite. Several things were missing including the do not disturb sign, so when we returned after breakfast the cleaner was cleaning the windows , which should have been done before our arrival. The only plus was the restaurant was good for breakfast and evening. Have never given a bad report before but if they give you the short straw they deserve it. As a Best Western member the Connaught offered us an upgrade. This hotel obviously chose to downgrade us.

    « weymouth 2016 late break »

I would mark this hotel between average and very good. The accommodation is average but the location ,staff and food is very good.I think the rooms need to be modernised particularly the bathrooms. The room superior room was a good size , plenty of cupboard space but the bathroom was out dated with little room to shower and the bath didn't feel like it was supported properly. We had a meal in the restaurant which was excellent .I would stay here again if I was in the area and got a cheaper deal.

    4
    « Nice hotel »

Managed to get a family room last minute as all B and B were fully booked! We had a family room, nice and spacious with comfy beds, hotel is nice, and parking not a problem, the breakfast was good, all you can eat buffet style, only downside was restaurant was very noisy and bit like a canteen :( but food was lovely especially sausages, would certainly stay again

    « Don't want to visit again »

The room was a nice size, it was all clean but the room had a funny smell to it and the bed was uncomfortable so my husband and I had a bad nights sleep. The swimming pool was average and the sauna wasnt working. If you want to use the spa treatments you need to phone in advance, i wish i had been told. Breakfast was 10 out of 10 lots to eat all really nice. The staff were friendly and polite, all this said because i had a really bad nights sleep we will not be using this hotel again as i was too tired for much site seeing the next day.

    4
    « Over night stay »

Functional and efficient rather than cute and quaint (as you'd expect from a large hotel). Very helpful and friendly staff, very clean and one of the biggest beds I've slept in! Looking a bit dated and no frills decoration but would recommend.

« Just First Class as always! »

I visit Weymouth once or twice a year and I've always stayed at Hotel Rembrandt so I know it well. This year, it was, as ever, an excellent experience. Superb dining on a modest budget and, importantly, the friendly welcome from staff is really star quality. In these days that to my mind is an important part of the whole experience. Breakfast is splendid: a huge range of good eats to choose from and, as I said in my review last year, what really is noticeable is the fact that toast is always made specially to order??which means it is extremely well-presented. And if you take tea in the morning, The teapot is brought with properly made tea, well-infused, and piping hot. That detail is a huge plus because elsewhere, on occasion, tea can easily be disappointing. So, well done on breakfast detail! My room was very comfortable indeed, with all the usual amenities. I'm already looking forward to to my next visit to Hotel Rembrandt: it's an inviting prospect after a long day's travel from Scotland.

    « Terry's surprise 70th birthday party »

We decided to stay at the hotel as it was the venue for a friend's 70th birthday party. Our room was very comfortable and well stocked with toiletries also tea and coffee facilities. The food at the party was very good. The staff were very professional. I used the gym facilities the next morning which was good again the staff were friendly. The pool, spa etc looked very inviting but sadly I did not have time to use them. I would definitely stay there again.

« Special consideration for disabled visitors »

My partner and I overnighted here last month on our way back to London from Cornwall. In addition to the comfortable and well-appointed bedroom, giving us ample room, we were very impressed by the consideration shown to people with mobility problems - such as my partner. Weymouth is an interesting resort anyway and well worth a visit. The Rembrandt offers excellent food - including a fine carvery - and has a small but very good wine list, too. We were pleased with our choice to stop here and would happily do so again.

    « Mini holiday »

Mum and I decided to take a little trip to Weymouth we looked at hotels and decide on The Rembrant on arrival we were given a very warm welcome. Our room was very spacous and clean. Meals were first class and plenty of it. All of the staff were very helpful and nothing was to much for them. The hotel was set back from the sea front but not far to walk. We will certainly use this hotel again.

    3
    « Boring Stay »

Enclosed Restaurant with no windows, more like a noisy canteen. Staff not very attentive. Our room was not ready for an hour beyond the 2.00PM arrival time. Glad we had not driven hundreds of miles! Bedroom too small, you could not swing a manx cat by it's tail.

    3
    « One night stay »

Room wasn't ready at 2pm as promised; not allowed to stay beyond 11am. We had an Executive room - on top floor at back; it was quiet and satisfactory. Room not very big but did have 2 chairs; had a decent night's sleep. Very limited bar meals (as it was a Sunday). Breakfast was OK although dining area not very atmospheric! Pool was basic, as was the changing areas (£15 to use a bathrobe!!!). As a one night stay it was OK - but nothing to write home about.

    3
« Good hotel and location but dated »

We stayed here for the Waterfest weekend in September. The hotel is in a nice location and the staff are friendly. The hotel is need of a bit of TLC as it is a bit dated. The breakfast was average, nothing bad about it but also nothing outstanding. There is plenty of parking but the some of the spaces can be a bit tight for getting the family / cases in and out of the car.

    4
« Better than I thought it would be »

Room was nice, swimming pool a welcome bonus, staff acceptable and in a good position for the beach. As a resort could do better..British resorts need to make up there mind what their market is...Daily star readers and chips or modern informed holiday makers looking for modern facilities and quality entertainment, restaurants and premier faculties and pleasant conversation and no football tops let them go to Southend and Blackpool.

    « No Surprises »

This BW always delivers. Staff friendly and very helpful. Room well appointed and clean. Restaurant food and wine selection excellent. Didn't use poll this time but the area looked enticing. Very relaxing stay again.

« Lovely hotel with great charm and character »

Stayed here for a couple of nights for our wedding and we booked a superior room. The hotel was really clean and tidy and the staff were excellent and very helpful for anything that we needed. The room itself was absolutely lovely and whilst some of the other reviews I have read about this hotel say it's a bit dated is what I would say adds to the charm of this lovely hotel. The only quibble I would have, and it is a minor one, was the view from the room. With a superior room I would have expected more of a view than a maintenance area and into another room. But as I say this is only a minor thing and did not hamper our stay in any way. A lovely hotel and one we would definitely stay at again.

    4
    « Lovely Autumn Break »

Booked a 5 day stay on the strength of our previous experience of Best Western Hotels. On booking requested a quiet room and were allocated 289. It was absolutely fine, a nice big room with 2 large windows which made it cool and airy, a lovely shower room/toilet, all immaculate. Any criticism would be to say that the pine furniture was a bit dated, but that would be very picky. Breakfast was brilliant with a huge range of food, fruit, cereals, yoghurt etc. The bar area was nice and bright and very welcoming and looked over a really nice pool. Staff were great, bar meals or restaurant food lovely and all at reasonable prices. Easy walking into town centre and simple to find on arrival. Would definitely stay again.

    « very nice »

Another visit to this very well run hotel. the staff are very receptive and cheery and efficient. the hotel is very clean and pristine and the restaurant served very delicious healthy wholesome food and plenty of it. A nice cosy cottage feel to the room with a free upgrade thrown in.Excellent position as well in town We will will be back next spring ....

« Great Hotel and fantastic staff »

Stayed in an Executive room for a long weekend and was impressed by the cleanliness of the room and its modernity. The bed was huge with lots of pillows and had a very comfortable sleep. The bathroom was roomy and looked like it had been updated in the last year. Breakfast was excellent value - many hot options as well as cereal and continental breakfast. Hotel has free parking and only a 10 min walk to Esplanade which was so convenient. The only 2 things that could have improved the experience would be blackout curtains and a mini fridge in the room. I'd like to personally thank Gary on the front desk and Kathryn in Housekeeping for making the weekend very special. I am definitely going back.

    5
    « Excellent Restaurant . »

Lovely restaurant , very buzy but all clean and tidy, Yes it is expensive , but you get what you pay for and the staff are very good .food was hot and a good mix of carvery and bar meals .with very nice deserts.

    « weekend break »

Absolutely brilliant!! Friendly staff, super comfy rooms, breakfast was perfect myself and my partner have no complaints at all ?? thank you for a memorable stay. Brilliant location, walks distance to pretty much everywhere we needed to go, enjoyed the pool and Jacuzzi, an all round enjoyable weekend would definitely come back again and recommend to friends and family!!!!

    « Pathfinding »

I and my wife decided to visit this first class hotel and make our booking for the Weymouth Veterans Festival 2017 and while we were there we had a luncheon in the Hotel Dining room, the food was very good and the table service second to non, we are looking forward to our 2017 stay at this very good hotel

    5
    « Great staff »

Stayed here for two nights around the Weymouth Ironman. Although some may say that the hotel is a bit dated (ok - it is a bit) it is lifted by very friendly and efficient staff, welcoming banter and having a special early breakfast starting at 4:30 am for those competing in the ironman - they also phoned 2 weeks before to see whether I needed it! Touches that make you feel welcome are worth a lot - definitely stay again same time next year.

    4
    « Group Booking »

We recently stayed at the hotel a party of 20 gentlemen on a golfing party. From the time I made a provisional booking until I had final numbers the reception staff were first class to deal with accommodating all my changes. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the beach and another 5 minutes to the start of the town. We had a DB&B package with a good selection at breakfast to set you up for the day. The evening meal again had a good selection of meats in the carvery section with a wide selection of vegetables. This hotel catered very well for our requirements.

    4
    « Nice But »

Having just got back from a lovely holiday in Weymouth, must just comment on the hotel Rembrandt, full marks for cleanness, full marks for the food the only deslike I have is the restaurant, I'm afraid I felt I was eating in a supermarket cafe, didn't like the atmosphere at all, on saying that the staff where very attentive. The walk to the town, umm five minutes to the front then another twenty five minutes to town, if you don't like walking I think the number Ten bus would take you into town, but hey we walked in and back most days then I climbed 48 stairs when we returned (there is a lift) to the third floor, and I'm 73 the rooms are spacious and quite although our shower blew hot and cold.

    4
    « Spa treat »

Came to have a spa day and paid £5 for a day member ship.. It's quiet small inside, they had a pool, jacuzzi a sauna and a steam room , the changing rooms were small when there was a few people inside , but for a few hrs entertainment then it was fine , I then went into the bar and had lunch and a drink, all in all its good , very clean and the staff were friendly , will return xx

« Great place for a short break »

I had read many reviews of this place before we came and over 90% were good. We did a 4 day Monday to Friday break. Arrived by train from London Waterloo, journey takes just under 3 hours. There is a taxi rank outside the hotel and the fare was £ 4. 20p. That was 2 people 2 cases. A great welcome at reception , they still do a key lock and you have a guest card which you show at reception if you need anything or get your key. We had booked a double room but were given a free upgrade to a triple room as they were all taken. This was great. Our room was on the first floor at the back. nice room tv on wall. Hosptality tray with great biscuits. Apple cinnamon to name but one. Nice big bath with shower attachment. Hairdryer also supplied. The t v did not have a big choice of stations which was a shame. Plenty of loght switches and a radio alarm. There was a bit of noise from people parking cars but not to much to worry about. There is also a good size swimming pool open from7 am. did not use but many were doing so. Breakfast great, from 7 am i think to 9.30 am but i stand to be corrected. We went about 7,30 am . Great choice ,hot buffet, fresh fruit cereal bread. When you go in they ask if you want tea or coffee and toast , white or brown. Apart from that you help yourself. We did not eat there in the evening but there is a good menu if you wish to. It is just over 5 minutes walk into town. There is also a bus stop just outside. We did have a small problem with the toilet but spoke to reception and it was fixed while we were out for the day. Woiuld we stay here again YES. maybe a little bit pricey from others of rhat range but if we went to Weymoth again as i said would stay there.

    « Average »

The hotel is a warren of corridors and staircases; the hotel has been made from knocking three houses into one. It is located about 400m from the sea front. The sea front is easily accessed. We went as an extended group and one of the rooms smelt of moth balls. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant was a little disappointing. Although, the food was edible and nicely presented, it was bland and the choice felt limited. Other Best Western hotel restaurants knock spots of this one. In all an average hotel, whose staff put the hotel above where it deserves to be.

    « Great hotel »

Room was big and bed was comfy and clean. It was great going for a swim every morning and having a steam in the hotel. Didn't have the breakfast and the drinks were a bit expensive but it was so close to the beach that it didn't matter too much. I'd stay here again.

    « Sunday roast »

Recently 5 of us had a Sunday roast there. Choice of 4 meats, 7 or 8 vegetables, all very tasty and cooked to perfection. Service was excellent too. Could not manage dessert as we were too full. Thoroughly recommended. Will definitely go again.

    5
    « Excellent Customer Service »

Most bad reviews seem to start with a row at reception over a booking gone wrong. So it's only fair to give an excellent rating where a hotel does it's very best to overcome a situation not of its own making and ensure that guests can still have their break. We booked for two adults and two children through a website but despite double checking the hotel was only told there were two adults. The hotel was fully booked but 'Lee' cheerfully arranged for a spare mattress for the kids in our room and next day we were moved to a family room following a cancellation. No fuss no shrug of the shoulders, just good old fashioned customer service. We have visited this Hotel before and will have no hesitation in returning again. The hotel itself is comfortable, with clean well appointed rooms, ensuite with plenty of good quality towels, bath and shower and lovely piping hot water. Breakfast was great, spoiled for choice. The staff helpful and friendly. We had one evening meal, again good value and good quality, especially the carvery. The hotel is not all gleaming metal and glass and some might find the labyrinth layout and wooden facade dated but it's clean and functional and with the friendly staff has a nice feel to it. The swimming pool an gym are again clean and should meet most needs. The only pointl I would make about the pool is that it might be an idea for half of the big pool to be laned off for swimmers, as it must be frustrating to have youngsters suddenly jumping in and swimming across, despite pleas from Grandad to desist. Good WiFi in room, plenty of free parking. Rooms at the front do have traffic noise with Windows open on hot night's. Rooms at the back and middle quieter.

    « Excellent as always »

Have stayed here on many occasions when visiting Weymouth. Good location for a pleasant walk into town. Great facilities, the pool is lovely. Service is good. Staff are very helpful. Will definitely return.

    « Very dated »

Very very dated Hotel. Staff and service really good. Reasonable food but extremely overpriced as is the drink. £2.50 for a fruit shoot is just obscene, even the bar staff winced when they told me. There are local B&B that would be a better option overall with so much choice for refreshment locally.

    « A decent break »

A bit apprehensive after reading previously mixed reviews but I'm delighted to say that our stay was flawless. Service was available at check-in and if not manned immediately we didn't have to wait long. Worth remembering to leave your room key at reception when out and about though. The room was clean and cosy and the bathroom was to a good standard as well. We both enjoyed decent sleep despite being near the main road. Breakfast was probably the highlight for me with a large array of options including cooked, cereals, continental and fruit options. Service staff were very attentive and observant, ensuring our needs were met and in certain instances pre-empted! We did not have time to enjoy the other facilities such as the pool but what we saw of it looked good and several families and couples were taking full advantage of this. In places the decor could do with bringing up to date a bit but this didn't affect our experience. If we're staying in Weymouth again then we'll certainly consider the Hotel Rembrandt.

« Decent hotel, just dated in style »

My boyfriend used to stay at Best Western hotels with work and has accumulated a lot of points. We decided to go to Weymouth for the weekend and use some of them. This hotel would never of been my first choice but to be fair I have little to complain about. The room itself was large and had a hairdryer. No iron, but we called and asked and one was promptly brought to our room. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I'm not sure if it's just my taste, but the style was dated. We used the gym, which was fine. The pool area is nice, but again could do with modernisation. The location was great for us, as it was near everything we wanted. Despite the style of the hotel, I would return. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

    « Excellent customer service »

Have just returned from 2 night stay at this hotel. Plenty of parking outside the hotel and the staff are excellent. We were a little early for our room but weren't made to feel we were a nuisance. Although our room didn't have the best of views ( in fact no view at all!) I was glad that we weren't in a room which overlooked the main road as we would have wanted the windows open. All of the staff were excellent and when we mentioned that our shower head was throwing the water out in different directions it was fixed extremely quickly. Breakfast was lovely. Plenty of choice and fresh and hot. No ridiculous toasters either - the toast was brought to the table. Gluten free catered for as well. We had dinner in the hotel one night and there was plenty of choice on the menu and not badly priced either. One small gripe - hair on the swimming pool changing room floor. I would suggest more checks are required although this was cleared up very quickly when drawn to their attention. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

    « EXCELLENT SUNDAY LUNCH »

This hotel does the best Sunday lunch , (that's just my opinion ) . As well as evening meals, along with the swimming pool , gym, steam room , sauna. Its just a short walk to the beach, if you stay at this hotel, the rooms are great, & so is the breakfast.

    « Disappointed »

The hotel needs some up dating. When we ate in the dining room at breakfast the staff started setting tables out for evening dining and when we ate in the evening staff were setting up for breakfast, yes I understand of saving on wages but when the dining room had only been open for 1 hour and there was another 2 hours of service to go, one evening we were told they were fully booked and it would be 1 hour before being seated, when we were seated within 1/2 hour 7 tables were set for breakfast. Not a welcoming environment for eating. Keep a record of any drinks and food you put on your room to pay at the end of your stay as people just tell staff there room number and not show there room card key to confirm.

    « Lovely! »

Service was faultless! The room was a bit tired but lovely and clean and the staff who make the rooms up were very friendly (even asking what flavour biscuits I would like!) The swimming pool was very pleasant (please remember to take your room card - the key alone will not do!)

    « Birthday weekend »

We stayed in the rembrandt hotel for 1 night for a birthday celebration. Nice hotel, maybee the decor in some areas need slight modernisation but very roomy executive suite 1st floor at the front, kettle and coffee in the room, lots of storage and the bathroom shower/Bath was fine. Lovely buffet breakfast. They have a swimming pool and hot tub which we didn't venture but looked very clean and inviting. The staff were very polite. Nice hotel if want to be 5 minutes from the sea front so was out of the noise

    5
    « Super friendly »

If anyone wants a place to stay in Weymouth I highly recommend the Rembrandt hotel it's a 10 minute walk from the town amazing facilities if anyone does come here I would also recommend the back shoulder and neck massage you get so much for £26 the lady is so friendly and welcoming

    « Anniversary weekend »

Very nice family hotel, friendly efficient staff, good food, 5 minute walk from beach. We were given a large L shaped room at the front of the hotel, comfortable bed, nice bathroom tea and coffee making facilities etc. The only small gripe with this room that if you were lying in bed watching tv, you needed binoculars to see it! Lovely swimming pool with a separate kiddies section, nice bar area and a quiet lounge area also available.

    « Outstanding stay »

Can not praise this hotel enough , from arrival to departure the staff from all areas were very polite and friendly , can not do enough for you , rooms spotless , beautiful garden , pool and spa ,breakfast quality and selection fantastic and bar food also at this standard . Ideal location 5 mins walk to sea front and amenities close by , definitely the hotel is value for money and certainly worth a stay

« Hotel Rembrandt wonderful stay »

We would thoroughly recommend Hotel Rembrandt, Weymouth - spent 9 really peaceful comfortable nights here - everything spotlessly clean, staff lovely, happy and so polite and helpful, Pool excellent, lovely food and the closeness to Weymouth and beach great - also nice to have free parking. We came here in 2015, 2016 and hope to come back again in 2017. Thank you so much to everyone at Rembrandt - you are doing a fantastic job - well done!!! Mr and Mrs Glover.

    « Really old »

This place is overdue for a modern makeover, especially for the rate they charge. Some of the staff are great, yet some treat you like your asking for the world when you want your room keys. All in all, there isn't much choices in Weymouth, but if I had a choice I wouldn't have stayed here. The breakfast is not bad, and the staff there are actually much better.

    5
    « Wonderful Experience »

Big, big beds with thick comfortable mattresses, nice clean well maintained rooms. Perfect buffet breakfast with everything you could possibly require. Very good indoor pool suitable for both adults and children. All staff are very smart and most attentive. The overall appearance of the hotel is one of total cleanliness which you get the moment you arrive at reception.

« Lovely hotel and location »

Came for a 3 night break before staying with a friend further into Dorset. Arrived after a long drive and greeted by a very pleasant receptionist who was very helpful including offering assistance with our luggage. Our room was bright and clean, as was the bathroom. They had also thoughtfully provided a fan for the room as it was a particularly hot spell of weather. No view but as we had no intention of sitting in our room staring out the window it was not a problem. The brightness of the room more than made up for it. We had the carvery the first night which was very nice - excellent choice of vegetables. Breakfast was also good, again good choice - sausages a little spicy but that's all I could fault and that's personal taste. Bar area was clean and tidy and a pleasant place to sit. All the staff were very helpful and attentive. On site parking a little tight around the back of the hotel but a definite bonus actually having parking! Short stroll to the front and beach. Slightly longer to the main shops and bars but that helped walk off the breakfast over indulgence. Would definitely stay here again.

« Good value in a really handy position for the promenade in Weymouth »

I always look at the bathroom first and this one was bright and spotless - a great start, a comfortable room. Bar was friendly and welcoming and restaurant was excellent for breakfast and a group dinner for 16 of us. Reception was stark though and not particularly welcoming at first - I think this was because of shortage of staff perhaps

« Excellent stay with the family »

Stayed 5th to 8th August with daughter, wife, and 2 grandchildren, 5 and 3. Rooms spacious, clean, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. Children enjoyed pool, large children's pool area, as well as adult swimming. Friendly staff, food good. Plenty of free parking. Overall well done.

« Fantastic Location with friendly helpful staff »

We stayed here for a 3 night midweek break as large family booking. The hotel is in a great location walking distance to both the main seafront / harbour and Sealife centre (it is also right outside the bus stop which stops regularly). Every member of staff was happy and helpful, it really made a difference to our stay. We had a family bedroom for 4, it was very large and clean with full size single beds for our children and nice to have tea/coffee facilities with biscuits which were replenished daily. The hotel pool is of a very good size with no time restrictions on when children could use it which was a bonus. Breakfast each day was always plentiful, freshly cooked with lots of variety. We also ate in the restaurant as a large group for a family birthday, the food quality was fantastic and the service faultless. We will be back!

    « Great family break »

Hotel is all you could ask for in appearance and facilities, swimming pool is a real plus for families. Restaurant serves great breakfasts. Family room was large and clean. This hotel has a lot to offer to make your stay in Weymouth smooth and memorable.Would revisit without a doubt.

    « Great Hotel »

We were lucky to stay for the weekend on spec as we had booked to stay at the premier inn but they had messed up our booking and the Rembrant had a last minute cancellation we have stayed here quite a few times before over the years and found that the service had improved and the Hotel had been refurbished to a good standard the staff were friendly and helpful, we had a great time and would go back without hesitation

    2
    « Never again »

As soon as we arrived at this hotel it reminded us of a hospital corridor. There is no warmth or friendliness in this hotel. Although the facilities are clean and modern it just has no atmosphere. The room we had was very dated and the bathroom smelt of damp. The breakfast was ok but nothing to get excited about. To be honest one night was enough and we couldn't wait to leave. The hotel needs a complete revamp and maybe then I would reconsider.

    2
« Way over-priced. No air con or ventilation, small/poor rooms »

Very disappointed on many fronts. If it had been 1/2 the price, then ok, but at the price they charge, needs: bigger bed, air con, (or at least some ventilation - even with the windows permanently open the room was too hot, and noisy from outside to sleep properly) - luckily it was only 20/25 degrees when we stayed. Breakfast selection poor, and had to keep asking them to stock items. No ventilation in the dining room, no mixer taps in the bathroom, needs a much stronger bathroom fan (smells were entering the bedroom), uses keys, hey it's the 21st century for g*ds sake, where are the key cards ? 101 other things, ust really disappointed for the price. Even the pool (the main reason for booking) was tired and 'worn out'

I stayed at this hotel from April until mid July Sundays to Fridays while working away from home. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. Each Sunday I checked in,the staff on the reception desk greeted me in a polite and professional manner. The restaurant food was very good and I would highly recommend the carvery. The restaurant area was clean and the polite friendly waiting staff and chefs, were always on hand and took food orders efficiently. During my long stay I stayed in many different rooms and each room was always clean and the beds comfortable. I did not use the gym but used the swimming pool and sauna/steam rooms. These areas were clean including the changing rooms. Thankyou to the check in staff for enrolling me into the Best Western Rewards scheme, with all those gained rewards points, I have booked a couple of relaxing days away with my wife at the Best Western Castle Inn in the Lake District.

    « Family Stay »

The staff were very friendly and the swimming pool was lovely and our 7 & 4 year old daughters loved it. We had a family room on the 3rd at the back of the hotel which was nice and quiet. The room was clean, spacious but dated. There is a lot of parking and it's only a 5 minute walk from the beach. The breakfast was nice but I don't think B&B was worth £145 a night. We would stay here again

    « Carvery »

Visited the Hotel Rembrandt a few weeks ago with a friend for a roast dinner, which, I might add was very delicious. However a little bit over priced for what you receive, but that didn't stop me ploughing my way through it. I thought the water jugs on the table were a lovely touch but can act as a deterrent from buying drinks from the bar. Some of the waiting staff didn't look very happy, which is a shame really because it made us feel uncomfortable. However the hostess made us feel really welcome and she is a credit to the hotel. Will be back

    « Seagulls. ARGHHHH »

4am wake call for room 206 by those pesky seagulls. Single room. Very small. Rear view for bedroom window overlooking the noisy aircon units. 2nd time I've stayed and still in need of a massive cash injection to bring the hotel into the modern day era.

« When from means ....when we are ready??? »

As a business man in the leisure industry I like to think i understand customers requirements.... However at this hotel I booked 5 rooms for a group outing, we arrived at exactly 2 pm as hotel states rooms available from .'2pm'. What a fool I am... In this hotel this means MAY be available !!! So our meal booked for 9 guests at 4 in the town had to be delayed as rooms are ready when the hotel at £125 a night tells you when they are ready... Absolute disgrace and the young manager, did not have the grace or indeed elegance to deal with the issue. IF YOU EXPECT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, DONT STAY HERE !!

    « Must love seagulls »

Spent three nights last weekend in a room overlooking their small but pleasant garden. The room was what you would expect from a 3 star hotel and had a good double bed. The breakfast was simple but of good quality. The staff all seemed friendly. Thought it was expensive although it is coming to peak season, the hotel is a maze and if your room is at the back you need a map. The only real downside is that we seemed to be the room the seagulls were attracted to at 4am each morning for their version of the dawn chorus, it was very noisy.

    3
    « Basic but decent »

Spent one evening here away with work. Location is a short walk from the lovely seafront and the room was clean, comfortable and tidy, albeit basic. Appreciated the courtesy call ten or so minutes after I'd checked in and although I didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel it seems like a decent option for a night or two.

    « Wedding reception weekend »

Although the Rembrandt is only a 3 star, the room was big clean, coffee making facilities we're good, bath room was clean towels were better than some 4 star hotel, we were pleasantly surprised after reading some reports, we were there, for a wedding the reception room was laid out extremely nicely, the staff were all very helpful, and pleasanr, the only thing that let this hotel down was the lack of air conditioning, the buffet breakfast was hot compared to some other hotels, basically we had a great time.

    « Overall impression - good »

Varied thoughts about this hotel. The receptionist on duty when we arrived needs to be sent on a hospitality training course - reminiscent of Fawlty Towers not so much in what she said but how she said it. Having survived that, appreciated a clean. smart foyer and were given rooms in the relatively new addition (I presume) at the back of the hotel - top floor with pleasant hills in the background but a less pleasing foreground view in a reasonable size, very clean room with a large double bed, very comfortable mattress, shower over bath with a plastic curtain in a fairly compact but nicely appointed bathroom; Nescafe and milk curtains on a basic but well stocked coffee tray; hair dryer, iron and board all provided. Did not dine here - restaurant menu look very 'pubby' - but our breakfast was above average for a chain hotel. All on warmers buffet style, but seemed to be freshly cooked on the whole, medium fried eggs, good leek and pork sausages, etc - and very friendly and helpful staff. Also sampled the indoor pool, which is a good size, very clean, comfortably warm and - when we used it - very quiet, so an enjoyable swim. Parking is at a bit of a premium at times - we stayed on a Saturday, and they were hosting a wedding, so that completely filled the car park. However, there is street parking very nearby. Overall, for the cost, a very reasonable hotel with good amenities.

« Pretty good, just one thing was disappointing »

I stayed here with my parents over a weekend as we were going to a family get together near by and wanted to take advantage of the sea food/ My room was fine, single room about the right size while it was on a main thoroughfare, there was little noise and I got a good sleep. My parents room was disappointing. While we didn't mention that my mother was in a wheelchair, and having been to Best Westerns and similar hotels, didn't really expect it to be an issue. They were put onto the ground floor, should be ok with a wheel chair. However for some reason there was a step up and a step down to get to their room. My parents didnt want to make a fuss or I would have mentioned it at the time. Happy to take some of the blame as I didn't mention it on booking but there needs to be better information on your website. In addition the booking process directly with the hotel didnt allow me to book specifically a disabled room, Otherwise it was a good stay, the bar and food was good for the style of hotel and it all fitted in with what we wanted for a overnight stay.

« Overnight for Fish Festival »

You never know what to expect what to get from a Best Western and usually I set my expectations quite low. But, as ever never expect the unexpected the entrance to the hotel does not impress somewhat of a crossroads motel feel about it with Greek statues outside! The room was very clean and functional with no complaints on the accommodation side. The breakfast was fine by buffet standards with freshly poached eggs but there were many empty serving tureens as it felt the service was winding down even with over forty minutes to go! The staff at breakfast were an asset to the hotel really good service, shame the reception staff weren't as attentive.

Not a good nights sleep, uncomfortable beds, dated decor, musky smell throughout hotel, drone from air condition unit outside our window kept us awake most of night. No communication from staff. Good location is only positive.

« Disappointing to say the least »

Booked a short break for three nights. The hotel, from what we saw of it, is living in the 70's at best 80's and provided little or nothing in the way of modern décor and facilities. Pictures show a reburbished bedroom and bathroom but these were obviously elsewhere in the hotel. Asked for a quiet room and got one at the front which is set back not that far from a busy main road in to the town. The room was clean enough but was really old fashioned with no electronic door entry, fridge, safe, but did have shower curtains (the sort that cling to you!). Wi-fi might have been available if you were prepared to go through a lengthy registration and sign on ritual. Whilst this was not specified equally it was not mentioned. No lift available in the part of the hotel we were assigned to. Cleanliness in the communal areas appeared poor with odd whiffs and smells here and there. Lighting in some areas on the way to our room was poor. Car parking areas were poorly maintained. The place overall reminded us more of a rather tired nursing home, not a modern day hotel. We don't expect cutting edge but equally we expect a place to be maintained with pride and passion, of which there was little evidence. Staff were functional but not friendly. Overall we did not feel comfortable nor safe and decided to leave, having paid a hefty price in advance for our stay. We complained to Best Western who state they set the benchmarks for the hotels, but they were no help being no more than a booking agency to be frank. The Hotel's response can politely be described as "defensive". At £110 per night advance B & B it is, in comparable terms, very expensive and there is much better value out there. I think it says it all when I asked the question of the management why no enquiry was made as to why we were leaving before staying even one night, we did not get a reply. We were not going to post a review but as they did not bother to respond we thought we would.

« spent one night here, decent size room and bathroom, would use again »

Spent one night here with my husband, decent size room and bathroom, would use again. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. although it has a very good restaurant attached, as we had been driving for hours, we decided to walk into town and have a bite to eat.

    2
    « Poor rooms »

Room 218 noisy, stuffy, small, with a ceiling fan because the window opens on to the aircon. Room 294 the walls are paper thin although it doesn't help if the people in room 293 are noisy and run a bath at 01:45 !! Food and restaurant good - bar lacks any ambiance at all. Staff generally helpful and friendly.

« Sunday Dinner after a day at the beach »

We had been on the beach all day and it was starting to go chilly about 5/6pm. We decided to head to the Rembrandt for a roast. Since my last visit the decor has been revamped. It's gone from red cosy and warm to white cold and orderly. Not really a relaxing environment for dinner. The ambiance gives off a feeling you have to sit up back straight if you know what I mean. Food was plentiful, and tasty as always. Only thing wrong with the food was I felt as it had been out under the heat lamps for a while was Luke warm. Really wasn't impressed and wanted to ask them to microwave my plate. We has to carvers, two pints of larger and two black currant and sodas. The bill came to around £33. For that price I'd have liked a hot meal. Bonus was they have a nice garden and seating area at the bar which overlooks the hotels indoor pool. There's a TV which is always showing sport or news and this little area is relaxing, so we did stay and finish our drinks on the sofa which was very nice.

    2
    « Poor Service »

It was our first time stayed with this hotel. My husband,me and my son needed to wait until 3:20pm in order to have our room. The attitude of the reception staff was not sincere at all. The size of the room was alright but the flow of water from the shower head was very slowly. The housekeeping staff only changed one toilet tissue roll for our 3 nights' stay. Apart from that the supply of bathing gel and shampoo were limited. They only supplied us each 2 little bottles of them at the first day of stay. The swimming pool is small and there was no bathing gel in the shower room and hair blowing needed a charge. As we had only brought with us a pound for the locker and got no money for the hair drying, therefore we felt quite embarrassed with wet hairs walking back to our room after swimming. The dinner was poor as the turkey and pork were too dry to eat but the restaurant staff were very nice and helpful which gave a great contrast to the hotel reception staff! We absolutely will not be a return customer of this brand hotel and will not recommend it to any of our relatives and friends.

    2
    « Very Poor Service »

Agree with other reviewers - this is not for the business traveller. Rooms are very poor level - with care home type setting and furniture. WIFI provision only available if you take up a cloud registration via 0800 number.

    « A good place to stay »

For this stay it was better than average but maybe not 4/5 but I couldn't give it a 3 as we didn't use all the facilities (breakfast). The room was large and comfortable. The ensuite was clean. The tea and coffee in the room was appreciated and we enjoyed the steam room and pool. We will return if we are near by again.

« Third visit to this lovely hotel with excellent indoor pool »

We visited Weymouth for a last minute overnight stay with my daughter & four year old grand daughter. Travelling by train from Bath for a treat we had riginally booked a family room in a b&b,however my daughter found a family room at this hotel.I have stayed there three times over a thirty year span & found it had not changed...However not such a bad thing.Yes,the hotel is a little tired & dated, however spotlessly clean with comfy beds etc. After spending a wonderful day in Weymouth & being sat on the beach at 7pm as it was great weather,we woke to dismal rain and this is where the hotel shines. We spent the morning in the heated indoor pool, splash pool, steam room & sauna and felt so relaxed.Again very clean & helpful staff. We will be back,

« Great start to our trip »

We decided to stop off at Weymouth on route to Cornwall. What a great decision. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We had two separate rooms - one being at the front of the property, the other overlooking a courtyard. Both rooms were clean, well equipped and quiet. The big surprise was the restaurant which served first class food in an amiable atmosphere with attentive staff. The evening meal we had was really well cooked and presented, whilst the breakfast was plentiful and appetising. If we had to stay in Weymouth again, this is the hotel we would choose. Location, atmosphere and very good value seems to come as standard.

    « Good atmosphere »

The hotel lives up to the Best Western standard, well presented, clean and with polite and courteous staff. There are lifts to the upper floors and you can get two people plus bags into the lift. The front car park is reasonably well sized but it can get full. The rear car park is very small and can be difficult to navigate if you have a larger sized car. Breakfasts were very good with a wide selection on offer. The chef was working behind the buffet refreshing fried eggs regularly. We were also pleasantly surprised to see fried bread on offer and Marmite for the toast. The staff did have a habit of bringing one medium sized pot of tea for two guests - not enough if you are big tea drinkers like us. Having said that, we were asked if we would like another pot most mornings. We ate in the restaurant in the evenings as well. There is a carvery on offer every night -note this is the only option on a Sunday - and a good range on offer from the a la carte menu. All the options we tried were well cooked and attractively presented. The room we had was well sized and looked over the back of the hotel. The only down side was the seagulls roosting on the roof of the college buildings located behind the hotel and the noise they made at sunrise! There aren't any rooms with a sea view in this hotel and to walk down to the sea front is a 10 minute walk. We would use this hotel again if we were in the area.

    « Inconvenient convenience »

We stayed at this hotel on business. We wanted an executive room but none were available. On checking in we were told that we had been upgraded to a family room. A double bed + single bed room. It was at the very back of the hotel on the 3rd floor overlooking a parking lot. It didn't seem like much of an upgrade. To be honest there aren't any views here - the hotel is on the main road heading toward the ocean front. The room was OK - very basic, furniture a tad shoddy (80's pine). The entire hotel is in need of an upgrade - it's pretty worn out. There is a nice garden area - but the restaurant and bar are like sealed units, no natural light - and basically, just grim. It's a pity they couldn't make more mileage out of the garden and have the restaurant or bar overlooking it; it would be much more pleasant. Our room had a good number of power outlets and the free wifi worked well. The first night our toilet showed signs of packing in - it was filling up very slowly - we reported then went out to work for the day and were gone for the entire day. We assumed it was fixed when we returned, but it soon became clear that it was still filling up slowly and now leaking from the cistern. No-one had taken the trouble to follow-up with us to check that the repair had been done and that we were happy with it - we probably should have contacted them but we were in Weymouth on business so out all day with meetings away from the hotel in the evenings (so we typically did not use the toilet until bedtime), they definitely should have followed up with us anyhow. On the final night of our stay the toilet packed up completely at about 10.30pm - too late to get anything done; a total pain in the neck to have to deal with. We were not impressed and very unhappy with the whole debacle. On check-out we were give a £40 rebate but sincerely it wasn't enough for the inconvenience and lack of customer care and follow up. Breakfast was a buffet - I asked if I could have an omelet and was told no, then one showed up (!) - unfortunately it was undercooked with raw egg inside. The breakfast room didn't appear to be a great place to work - the lack of sunlight in the dining room and bar is pretty oppressive, it just made for a grim start to the day - which we skipped entirely on our final day (we paid for it in advance and didn't receive a refund on this). To be honest, we hardly encountered any of the staff - our room was at the back of the hotel, we parked our car there, leaving and retuning by that entrance every day -so essentially the only time the hotel had to show us good customer service was at breakfast (unsmiling and slow) and around the matter of the toilet - which was characterized by a failure to fix and no follow-up. Weymouth is a lovely place - this hotel is just very tired and not a good-flag bearer for the Best Western brand.

« Hotel was good but room could have been better. »

I was using this hotel whilst working nearby. The first thing to say is that this is not a business hotel. There was not really a work area in the room. What I suppose would be classed as the desk is really a small dressing table so working in the room was a challenge. The hotel is very clean and in good condition, There is free parking and the food was really good but it was clear to me that the hotel targets the holiday trade as opposed to the business trade, and it does it very well. For the holiday maker it would be an ideal holiday base. Unfortunately my room looked out on to the kitchen extractor fan. Thankfully the fan was turned up at about 9pm at night but was back on again at about 6.30 in the mirror. My room was really hot and the provided fans were really noisy so I had to sleep with the window open so I got a sort of alarm call every morning when the fans were on. I would try to avoid returning on business but would give it some serious thought if I wanted to holiday in the area.

    « Flying visit »

A stopover hotel for us as we were visiting family in Weymouth. I was surprised how big the hotel was? Our room was in the third floor and its was a little walk to the lift from reception. However as with most best westerns the staff are extremely helpful and offered assistance with our cases if required. The rooms clean, an Attractive pool ( didn't have a chance to use) but the decor could do with an update. Will certainly return again.

    « Easter break »

The hotel was lovely and clean and it was away from the hustle of the beach about a 5 min drive. The food was lovely and staff very helpful. Only thing was there was no lift to the second floor and my husband has trouble with the stairs, if you find stairs hard going ask for a ground floor room. I would def stay here again. Loved the indoor swimming pool.

    « Very helpful staff »

Due to an injury picked up the day of arrival I had to be helped with arrival, bags etc. The staff were very accommodating and quickly changed my room and fetched bags etc. The room was fine spacious and clean. Didn't get chance to use the leisure suite and despite the function room being used as a blood donor clinic there was sufficient car parking. Overall a good hotel for the price

    « Portrait of a good hotel »

Writing on behalf of a family group sharing two rooms that stayed at the Rembrandt last weekend. Both rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed. The indoor heated pool was a bonus for the kids, who were able to spend hours exhausting themselves! There was the standard English breakfast which made the perfect start to the day, and for those driving there is able parking both at the front and rear of the hotel. We found the staff throughout the hotel to be friendly and eager to please. For those on foot or wanting to leave their car at the hotel then the seafront is a mere 10 minute walk way.

« Does what it says on the tin.. but »

This hotel delivers everything it promises . Shame the decor is tired. Room was spacious but (my pet hates) skirting boards had not been cleaned or dusted for weeks and light switches were grubby. Such small things but shows lack of pride in hotel. Woken daily by loud noises (recycling, laundry trollies?) around 6.30 am. OK for business travellers but not holidays. Breakfast average. Staff polite but seemed bored. Spa nice to use. Needs injection of imagination, enthusiasm and cash.

« Needs updating but can't fault the staff »

This hotel is in a good location, close to town and near to bus stops with free parking. The place was clean and tidy but felt a little tired - the decoration and furniture just felt rather out of date and there were no fridges in the rooms. The bar and restaurant area did not have much atmosphere and the restaurant felt very much like a breakfast room, not a dining room. Dimming the lights and having a few pieces of darker furniture would have made a big difference. However, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The breakfast which was included with our room was also excellent with a wide choice. We were somewhat disappointed that there was no lift to our room as we were travelling with my elderly great grandmother who found it very difficult to go up the stairs. However, the staff were very accommodating and helped to carry her cases up. The staff in general were excellent, very polite and went out of their way to be helpful. For example, when we went down to dinner and wanted to sit at a particular table which had not been set for dinner, they set it for us with no quibble at all.

« Fantatic staff and food. »

4 generations of our family stayed, ranging from 25 - 91 years old! The hotel was a little dated, no fridges in the room, only one key (there were 3 people in our room) and unfortunately no lift to some rooms, meaning my 91 year old grandmother had to scale 19 stairs to her room, luckily she can, had she been less able the I am not sure what would have happened! Our triple room was a good size for 3 adults with comfy beds. The staff were amazing, every single staff member we spoke to was friendly, helpful and accommodating; from the room maid who took us all the way to the pool and didn't just vaguely point, to the restaurant who made sure we had a round table for dinner and breakfast! We ate in the hotel both evenings and the food was very good quality and good sized portions. Breakfast was also very good, a good selection of good quality food and the option to order poached eggs, smoked haddock or kippers was great. Service was sometimes a little slow, but always friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We chose the hotel as it has a bus stop right outside, meaning those who couldn't walk could get an easy ride to the town centre, for the others it was a pleasant 15 -20 minute walk to the centre, 10 minutes to the sea. It also has a good size car park, so we didn't need to worry about that. The pool was nice, it's a family hotel, so quite a lot of children, but it was quieter in the evening. There is also a nice, sheltered garden with seating.

    « Swim and Lunch »

We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours here, using the Rembrandt's excellent 'swim and lunch' offer for £10. Full use of pool, sauna, steam room...etc plus lunch is a good deal. Staff were friendly, the facilities were clean and the lunch was good. I cannot comment on rooms, as we did not stay overnight.

    « Adequate. Just. »

Stayed here on a business trip. As others have said it is way past time for a refurbishment. The room was found at the top of a narrow stairs in what seemed to me like a maze. The room was small. The bathroom was tiny. It was clean and warm. The bar was devoid of atmosphere. Breakfast was ok. The staff were friendly. Er. That's it.

« Great place to stay »

Ideal location - near the beach and town centre in Weymouth. Clean hotel and rooms. As a family of 5 we were well accommodated, room could possibly have been a bit bigger however. Leisure facilities are very good and children were welcome everywhere in the hotel.

« Over priced and grubby in places »

I was in need of two night accommodation over the bank holiday weekend due to a business need. The room, a twin, was booked for me at a cost of £100 for the first night and £130 for the second, this was room only. The room was clean as was the bathroom but it was only clean where you could readily see. There was a clear dust line around and underneath furniture where the vacuum could not go. There were countless dirty marks on the walls, some looked like blood though hopefully were spatters of red wine. With a damp tissue these were easily removable, I tried one! Also the room seemed to suffer from some damp patches above the entrance door which seemed a strange area. Had this not been an urgent need for a room I would not have entertained paying what my company ultimately did for such a shabby experience. Whilst there were other facilities available, such as the pool and gym (I think) I was not able to make use of them and so probably lost out on that part. Sorry Best Western, you need to do better

    « Good little find. »

My partner and I have just returned from a long weekend break here and both have to praise to the hotel, the staff and the location. The staff were always helpful, happy and smiling, the food at breakfast was of a high standard and had a variety of choices so everyone was happy and the location of this hotel meant it's far enough away to be quiet but close enough to the beach that you can wander to it with a 5-10 minute stroll. Our room was spacious, clean and generally pretty quiet, beds comfy etc etc. The only bad point about our room was that we overlooked the roof and aircon units so didn't have any kind of a view! We used the swimming pool and jacuzzi one evening and it was an added bonus for our hotel to have this!! Finished off our day nicely after spending it on the beach in the sunshine the pool was very refreshing!! The bar was welcoming, quiet and had plenty of tables and a garden however service was a little slow even when they weren't busy. The night we arrived there was a wedding reception going on in one of the main halls, we were not informed of this and our room was almost directly above it meaning until about 1am we had music and bass echoing through our room. After this night though the hotel was extremely quiet especially at night and overall we will definitely be booking the Rembrandt when we return to Weymouth.

« Nice hotel, good location, nice garden area. »

Just got back from a 2 night stay at this hotel. Good experience overall, rooms are clean, beds are good and comfortable. Bathroom is a good Size. We asked for a bath in the room and the hotel were more than happy to change our room to accommodate that. Choice of tea and coffee in the rooms and plenty of it. Only down fall of the room being no air con or a fan. Bank holiday weekend was a hot one, as our room sat directly in the sun, our room was extremely warm and made the first evening a little unpleasant. Couldn't open the window due to the noise from wedding guests outside the window underneath going out for a cigarette, slightly merry and loud. We ate in the hotel restaurant for evening meal and breakfast, food was lovely. Accommodated my partners request to decorate the table for my birthday. Service in restaurant always to a high standard. Garden area to the rear of the hotel is lovely and peaceful and it has a good size pool too. Overall a good experience, would definitely stay here again.

« Stayed loads of times! »

We choose to take our family holidays here as its close to the local hospital (we have a severely disabled child who often needs hospital care). We have had six summers here on the trot! Family rooms are a good size. Meals are delicious. There's lots of choice at breakfast and the evening carvery. We like the pool as it has a shallow part which suits our disabled son. The small beer garden is a sun trap. The staff are friendly and they always acknowledge our son, and chat to him which means so much to him. They also display art by local artists and we've bought a couple of nice pieces to remind us of our holiday. We will continue to use this hotel as its only a few minutes walk from the beach and suits us just fine!

« Short break with elderly parents with limited mobility. »

This has to be one of the best if not the best of hotels in Weymouth. Our experience was that the staff were friendly, all of the public areas in the hotel and rooms very clean and the swimming pool gym and spa - a delightful bonus for this grade of hotel. There is also a small lawned garden with tables and chairs off the bar and health spa are which is a sheltered quiet and sunny area again accessible through the dining room to wheelchairs. In the dining room the buffet breakfast and evening dining options of carvery or varied dinner menu were very good. The service was very attentive. This is one of the few hotels in Weymouth which I would regard is fully accessible for wheelchairs and the staff there, from the booking enquiry to everyone we encountered on our stay at reception the dining room and leisure staff all extremely helpful and friendly. The disability rooms were already fully booked when we enquires about vacancies but they suggested a family room for us. This had lift access and the room was spacious enough to be able to accommodate a wheel chair and mobility scooter. The bathroom obviously wasn't modified but that was not an issue for us. Free wifi in the room was also a welcomed surprise. There was plenty of car-parking on site, which for Weymouth hotels is rare. The hotel was half a mile walk from the clock tower on the promenade and as not in a central town location was quiet but still not that far from everything in the town. Will definitely return to this hotel.

« Short break in Weymouth »

Short 3 night stay; hotel clean and staff very helpful. Selection and quality of food was excellent, the bar menu choice being especially good. Room kept clean and the facilities all worked, our room overlooked the rear garden and side of the swimming pool so no traffic noise but pool air conditioner was a bit noisy if you had the window open; no real problem for us.

« Comfortable, clean and close to sea. »

Always find BW hotels are comfortable and clean and this was no exception. Ten minute walk to promenade and although on a main road, was quiet apart from other guests in room above. Ground floor room had very little daylight as overlooked corridor and outside passageway and bathroom would have been difficult for a large person to move around in, but double rooms have more space. Food very good and staff attentive. Note that dogs not allowed to stay in hotel or car. Ideal for conferences and business use, Excellent Leisure centre with pool for children also.

« It could be better for the price! »

We stayed at the hotel this May and to be fair there is positive and negative feedback. On the positives, the staff were all very friendly throughout the hotel. The restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was very nice, the pool was welcoming, the beds new and comfortable and lots of places in easy reach. On the negatives, we felt the hotel was starting to look very dated and whilst there is evidence that they are refurbishing it, there is rather a lot to do. For example, the doors to the bedrooms are a Yale lock and with a crime prevention background we weren't happy leaving our valuables in the room as there is no safe and locks like that can be easily 'slipped'. On arrival we were placed in a family room which had a partial redecoration. Unfortunately after one night the smell of 'new' carpet (like a glue smell) got too much, even with the windows open all night that we asked to move. Personality I don't feel guests should be put in a room with that smell as it's unhealthy, especially when they knew we had a 4 year old and an under 1 year old with us. The next room was had an unpleasant smell like stale sweat, the shower wasn't great and it took all your effort to change the water from bath to shower but we didn't want to move again as we were away for our daughters birthday and wanted to just enjoy that. The daily room clean was limited, effectively beds made and new refreshments but that's it. The sand from a bath after the beach was left there (which I didn't realise was in there upon emptying as would have rinsed myself) and the plastic cups not replaced or washed up. We'd expect a little more for £100+ per night. The restaurant doesn't open until 6.30pm, so if you have little ones, dinner needs to be either in the bar with a good but certainly more limited menu or elsewhere. The rooms that looked out on the back car park were subjected to noise as the windows were inadequate to keep out noise of people talking and staff wheeling trollies and general noise of cars coming and going. We have stayed in hotels of similar star and we feel for the cost we could do better elsewhere predominately because of the accommodation. We stayed in a Best Western 4 star in Bournemouth a few weeks earlier and you easily saw the difference between that and this 3 star.

« Convenient one night stay »

We stayed overnight when visiting relations. The hotel has standard facilities you would expect but looks a little tired. Some of the decor in the public areas is a bit reminiscent of the 80s and the dining room has fairly basic decor. There are no lifts so be prepared for steep stairs if you are on the upper floors. One of the rooms we had on the front was large and airy but the other on the back was dark and small. Although on a main road it is a quiet location and convenient for nearby attractions.

    « Great find »

Great location, plenty of car parking and welcoming staff in reception and the bar. We'd arrived late but the children (4 and 6) needed to eat before bed, food came out quickly and was hot and tasty. The family room we booked was huge and spotlessly clean, although a little bit tired and could do with a refurb. We had a great stay and would happily return.

    « A typical seaside hotel »

We stayed for 1 night on a business trip. The staff our lovely and really helpful the hotel itself is a little dated. For me is was a bit going back in time to when I was a kid and mum and dad took me to the seaside on holiday. It needs updating the beds are old and the pillows like concrete with old and dated pine furniture.

There were 4 adults and 3 children accommodated in 2 rooms. Our granddaughters 2 aged 8 and one aged 10 wanted to experience a hotel with a pool, white towels - there were plenty of these, and unlimited breakfast! I believe that all expectations were met. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for more especially as the price was very reasonable and additional meals, drinks etc were not at rip off prices. Would do it again.

    « Good hotel »

Very good hotel for one rated at 3 stars. Have stayed at 4-star rated hotels which were nowhere near as good as this. Good choices at breakfast and an excellent carvery although my wife felt the food could have been hotter. Hotel is well placed being a10 minute walk from the sea front and little over 20 to 25 minutes to the town. Plenty of buses to and from the town pass the hotel if you don't want (or are unable) to walk. We were in a newer extension of the hotel and the room was fine. Can't speak for other rooms of course.

    « Nice hotel, dated »

Nice hotel, does the job but is a bit dated. Decent sized double room, not massive, and the pool looked nice but we didn't get a chance to try. Very helpful staff and in a great location. :) we booked through booking.com which was very easy and you could have the app on your phone!

« Excellent Hotel excellent location »

We stayed at this hotel over a bank holiday weekend. We arrived on the Friday to a very warm welcome the carpark is very big so thats a bonus. 1st impressions are very good. The reception is very clean and tidy. We were early so our rooms weren't ready but we could use the facilities. The bar is next to the pool and has a lovely garden aswell, pity the weather wasn't better or we'd have sat in the garden. Yet again everywhere is very clean. We went to our rooms once they were ready and the cleanliness once again could be better. The room was large and so was the bathroom. The only minus was the shower that whilst being used tended to go hot and cold. This is only a small gripe though. We were at the back of the hotel and it was very quite. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet style and the choice was vast. The cooked breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day ahead. We had the carvery in the evening and this also was very delicious. All the staff were polite and very helpful. I will be using this hotel again as the location is excellent for getting out and about.

Very impressed with this hotel, plenty of parking and was able to leave the car as arrived early for check in and walked down to the seafront in approx 10 minutes. Had dinner, bed and breakfast. « The quietest hotel I've ever stayed in »

I couldn't tell you how many hotels I've ever stayed in but I can tell you it's a lot. I can also say that this is the quietest one I have ever stayed in...ever! I stayed here with friends and it seems they all got the upgraded rooms whilst we had to stick with our original booking but hey, we're not complaining as our room was more than adequate for the two of us. It was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. We used the pool and spa and found this to be a real joy after a long day of hiking over hills and beaches. It got a little bit crowded but nothing that spoilt our time in it. Breakfast was excellent and as vegans, finding a hotel that supplied soya milk was a bit of a godsend. Lots of choice of both hot and cold food and everyone catered for really well. Would I recommend this hotel to others? Absolutely. Would I stay again? Definately.

The hotel is quite central weymouth, but it's pretty quiet area, residential. They have a car park so really useful if you are travelling. They have their own restaurant and a leisure club you can access for free with sauna, steam room and swimming pool. The room was large and quite nice. Our room was on the last floor with steep stairs but they offer porterage if you need it. Free wifi. Nice place to stay to visit Weymouth or Jurassic Coast.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms never look the same as on the web site, could do with some attention. Breakfast was very good, bar snacks were good too, can't comment on restaurant as never had evening meal always went out. « Good Hotel »

We stayed here for four nights recently, using Weymouth as our base for exploring the Jurassic Coast. The hotel is located on the way into Weymouth from the north, and is just a mile from the town centre, which has lots of pubs and restaurants. The hotel is a fairly typical seaside hotel, and has a welcoming atmosphere. It has plenty parking, a decent bar and restaurant and an indoor swimming pool. Our room was a good size and very comfortable, with all the expected amenities, including hair dryer and tea/coffee tray. The staff were all very friendly and service was efficient. The breakfast buffet was good, and the dinner we had was also very good. The only concern was that the free wi-fi was a little intermittent. We'd definitely stay here again.

    « Investment Required »

Nice hotel just on the edge of town. Really really needs a makeover rapidly. Room pretty clean apart from carpet looking tired as too the decor. Restaurant, bar and reception area needs to be taken out of the 80's era. Staff pleasant. Only used bar, so can't comment on food, but the smell lingering from the carvery was over cooked cabbage. Not nice

« Good hotel, with good facilities »

This is a good hotel, the staff were really friendly. There is a pool and gym with sauna and steam room, used these on 2 days and was impressed with all the facilities, towels are provided. The room was clean and furniture was good, floorboards creaked a bit. One of my gripes is that most hotels have towels the size of hankies, but this hotel has proper bath towels. Breakfast was buffet style and good quality plenty of selection.

« A little dated, and could improve on reception management »

The hotel was nice and clean. Staff were friendly, esp restaurant and cooking staff. Rooms were a little dated, with no lock on the bathroom door and the tv volume doing the opposite to the keys on the remote. Despite booking room with an infant, no cot was provided, but once we called down to reception one was provided quickly. Sometimes incurred a wait at an empty reception whilst waiting to collect keys (after each time you leave the hotel). Pool area nice and spa facilities ok.

    4
« Comfortable beds, clean, and the breakfast buffet is great »

Quite close to the sea-front. The pool makes it a magnet for families with kids. The staff are helpful and friendly and the food was good (we ate only one night and sampled the carvery and from the ala-carte menu). Decoratively its trapped in an eighties time warp but everything worked and the bathrooms and bedrooms were clean. The restaurant has the atmosphere of an airport departure lounge, but otherwise no complaints.

« Tired Hotel in Need of a Shakeup »

I spent a weekend at this hotel with my wife and grown-up son, renting a triple room for 2 nights. The hotel is over-trumpeted. Appearances are deceptive. We did get one of the ?free parking? spaces on arrival, but thereafter only ever managed to get a dark corner in the potholed ?rear car park?. The smart façade of this hotel building hides a tired establishment that has not yet entered this century. At reception I was surprised to be handed a single old-fashioned key instead of 3 electronic access cards. I was also surprised to be told breakfast would not be available until 7.30am when I said we wanted to have it at 7am so we could be at Claypigeon Raceway 17 miles away by 8. A receptionist told me I should fill in an application form in our room for an early breakfast and state on it what we wanted to eat but only a cold continental breakfast would be available for 7am, hot food was not available until 7.30. When we got into our room we found no such form, so I went back to reception, and another receptionist simply noted my need for an ?early? breakfast and said I didn't need to say in advance what we wanted. But she made it sound like I was ordering room service and would have to pay for it. So I pointed out I had already paid for breakfast for 3 people when I paid for the room and I should not be made to pay again. (Yes, this is getting really tiring already.) And now, there is no lift, so we had to walk upstairs with our luggage. Although the lobby area and one or two other areas on the ground floor are reasonable cheerful, we need to go back to the notion of façade and deceptive, appearances, let's go upstairs. The rabbits' warren interior of shabby upstairs corridors gives the impression that a higgledy-piggledy jumble of buildings have been thrown together in a muddle and strung together with Selotape, or not. Through the shabby wobbly wood and glass doors on the corridors between each piece of the jumble, we got to our shabby room door with its shabby old lock. The room was tired and tackily furnished with what appeared to be cheap flat-pack wooden beds and chests with ill-fitting drawers, worse than IKEA. Argos perhaps? We searched high and low for the hair dryer and eventually found it in the drawer that had no knob handle. There was a good kettle and sachets of Nescafe and tea and some nice biscuits, but there was no fridge ? a bit odd for a summer resort. The view from the windows was a jagged muddle of ugly rooftops with no open view, and a bunch of seagulls squabbling with each other outside our windows. The bathroom was primitive. No real mixer taps on bath or washbasin. A shower tap that jammed, and when the shower worked it had no pressure. You had to shower standing in a bathtub with no splash curtain and no rubber safety mat to prevent slipping. There was no toilet brush to clean the lavatory. The toilet seat refused to stay up when lifted. The extractor fan was almost dead - it didn't extract ? maybe they bought it at Wilko. The beds were moderately comfortable but the so-called double could barely hold a couple ? even though we are slim ? and the single was flimsy. The ?free wifi? didn't work. When we came back to the room in the evening after a full day out, we found our dirty towels left in the same pile we had left them in the morning, not even tidied, never mind changed. The saving grace was when we arrived in the empty dining room for early breakfast. At 7.10 am the hot food had already been laid out on the buffet, so we did have an early hot breakfast, underling the incompetence and misleading information of the receptionists the evening before. It was a good range of English cooked breakfast, plus cereals and fruits. At least that small moment made us happy, even if the rest of the experience failed to. I think that underlying it all is an attitude problem among key staff, and a failure to keep up with the times. For the rates paid at this hotel you should get better than this

The hotel was just the job for a family break in Weymouth. Great facilities, particularly the pool, sauna, steam & gym. The rooms were very clean & a good size. Bar area ok Breakfast was very good. An easy walk into Weymouth or down to Lodmoor park.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, room was adequate Bed was comfortable but pillow were terrible, shower was lacking any power, was quite a disappointment, good selection of tea/coffee/ biscuits in room. Nice bar area, Overall ok hotel. About 10 minute walk to see front. But further to centre of town, we never walked it about 6 minutes in car.

    « A Family Birthday »

A nice relaxing weekend with the family celebrating a significant birthday. Nice friendly and helpful staff. The meals we had were excellent and promptly served - had both restaurant dining and bar snacks. We had the exec room, not the best view but a great room with a wonderful bath. An excellent location, only a few minutes walk from the front. An adequate finess centre and pool, may be a bit small for some but more than adequate for us.

    « Very average »

We stayed one night at this hotel. We paid for an executive room but apart from it being a fairly large room not sure what made it executive accomodation. The room was clean. The wifi was poor, it kept dropping out. There was a used towel on the back of the bathroom door! I did mention this on checking out and the poor wifi and the receptionist did apologise. Having said all this if all you are looking for is somewhere to sleep for a night this place is adequate.

    « A good place to stay »

The hotel is on a busy road, but we had a room at the back overlooking the garden. It was quite and relaxing. The room was clean and supplied everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. We don't usually like buffet-style food as things often become over-cooked under the lights, but this was not the case here. The dinner menu was not terribly inspiring so we went for the carvery and couldn't fault it. The hotel is situated in walking distance to the seafront and town centre. So no need to take the car. Would happily stay here again if in the area.

    « Meals amazing »

Rooms were clean and comfortable although overpriced for the standard of finish, a little more ATD needed! Saying that, we've stayed several times and the food is excellent and staff are attentive and supportive.

    « Functional but tired »

Stayed here as a group on a business trip. Friendly staff and well located for Weymouth with Dorchester about 25 minutes away. My room had an extra single bed as well as double so was a good size. I'd requested a quiet room and although there was no passing traffic or adjacent lift (hotel doesn't seem to have a lift!) there were A/C fans outside that started up early in the morning. Overall this was probably a bit above average but less than very good. I had no time to use the pool or gym as it opened at 7.00, same as breakfast. Breakfast was usual buffet and evening dining was a carvery with some other options that changed each night.

    « very pleasant »

the hotel itself ,is very clean tidy,i had a single room, once again clean .....,tea ..coffee and biscuits provided....nice clean white towells, with free soap shower gel in those little bottles........bathroom overall no complaints on that ...and indeed the room it self was ok .......the only trouble i think with the hotel the rooms could be given a lick of paint.....and perhaps more modern furniture....but as i have said what is there is clean and tidy..............food.....breakfast really good, first class...i was there with a group and we had a set meal in one of the conference rooms, could not fault it ....waiters were quick and smiling....i would eat there again no proplem........staff....all the staff i met were very friendly, helpful.and smiling......for the weekend i stayed ...a big well done, and i would stay again ....

    « Very good indeed »

We have just stayed here for a weekend and have really been very impressed with the efficiency, friendliness and helpful nature of the staff. Similarly with the facilities on offer with plentiful car parking even though the hotel was clearly very busy and a leisure centre and pool as well. Our room was very nicely furnished and of a good size with a comfortable king size bed. Breakfast is excellent with a wide range of offerings - notable for the very high quality of the eggs, bacon and sausage - all nicely presented and well cooked. I have only one small criticism in that in an area that has a number of excellent breweries, why is there not a proper real ale or ales on offer? Other than that, this hotel can be strongly recommended.

« You get what you pay for »

I stayed here for a few nights recently on a business trip. The hotel is rather tired and really needs a complete refurb, but at around £74 a night, you can't really complain. The rooms are large and the beds comfy and most importantly, quiet. There's plenty of toiletries and the bathroom was clean. WIFI is very quick and has good coverage over the hotel. I didn't try the pool, but may give it a go on the next trip. The reception staff are very friendly and the breakfast choice was excellent and of good quality. I would stay again - just don't expect boutique style and quality.

« Well run and comfortable hotel. »

Very good value, nice staff, good food, hotel spotlessly clean. Decor a little dated, but that's a comment not a complaint. Would happily stay there again. Not sure I can make this report long-winded enough to reach 200 words, which is a silly requirement really. 200 words maximum might be a better idea. How are we doing? are we getting anywhere near the magic figure yet? If not I'll just keep rambling a bit longer. Presumably you'll get the general idea that we liked the hotel, the staff, the food and the service. And we would happily book to stay there again and recommend others. If we haven't reached 200 words yet, I'll just have to repeat what I've already said. Again and again.

    « Excellent Quick Break »

Good Bedrooms, Great Value, Spa & Sauna on site, would visit again. Did not use restaurant or bar so cannot comment on these facilities. Weymouth is a good spot to explore the Jurassic Coast, visited Portland Bill about a twenty minute drive away, lovely part of the country.

Our room was lovely and clean, staff were amazing. We went there to celebrate my brother in laws 65th birthday, they dressed up our evening table and laid on a bottle of wine, all done at short notice, staffs were amazing and very helpful, would stay again, nothing was too much trouble.

    « Quality 3 star Hotel »

We stayed for a two night DBB break late February. We liked this well situated hotel - friendly efficient reception staff and a comfortable spotlessly clean double room, white linen and fluffy white towels. Full size bath with shower over and copious hot water was much appreciated. The breakfast buffet was really excellent offering a wide range of food and waiter service for toast and coffee. Dinner was good if you chose carefully from a la carte menu-otherwise the carvery choices were averagely enjoyable. The waiting staff were energetic attentive and friendly. The leisure and pool facilities were very good. Overall, this pleasant hotel offers excellent value for money and we would be very happy to return. .

« Mostly nice people in a rather tired hotel »

Friendly staff in a rather tired hotel. Everything clean and working but needs a refit. Beds too hard. Breakfast and bar meals really very good. Overly officious member of leisure centre/swimming pool staff in contrast to the otherwise friendly helpful staff. Would stay again, but would probaly try elsewhere first. Good stand-by.

    « One night stay »

We had a good night at this hotel. Room décor could maybe do with updating. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, tasty and varied. We would return and would recommend.

    « Great friendly hotel »

Great two day stay despite having a rotten cold, room 293 light and spacious and breakfast extremely good, all the staff extremely friendly and good to see young British people enjoying work. This hotel goes the extra mile and does not cut corners.

    « Relaxed and friendly »

Spent one evening with family at Hotel Rembrandt on our travels. Hotel was chosen based on location and previous reviews. We were made to feel most welcome on arrival and our 4 year old son was given lots of attention from receptionist throughout our stay. Room on third floor at back of hotel was peaceful and very clean. Breakfast and service were excellent, so thank you to all staff for what was a very pleasant short stay.,

    « Not the best-western experience »

I cannot fault the staff at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very professional and greeted me with a calm, happy and professional manner. Check-in was quick and easy and we were able to find our room in comfort, it was a beautiful space, which was clean and comfortable. We received a call from reception, just simply to check we were happy in our room and had everything we needed. I thought this was a nice courtesy call. We had a comfortable bed, and went out in the evening, leaving our keys are reception which was fine and worked very smoothly. Location was fine, a 20 minute walk along the seafront to shops and restaurants. However, we were rudely awoken at 5.30am by another guest in the hotel who was banging on our door, trying to turn the handle and forcefully enter. I was quite scared and did not answer. I called reception and reported this and was very happy to talk to the night porter who said he would investigate. I could hear that he came up right away, and then he called back a few minutes later to let me know that he had not seen anyone about - I was happy to have this call back and pleased it was followed up immediately although i was too scared to get back to sleep!! I feel the doors could be more secure with a card swipe, rather than a key lock. I would not want to stay here as a lone female again.

« Great one night business stop »

I tell you something. This hotel is a little 'tired' yes, but the bed was really comfortable, the breakfast excellent and the staff superb! The entertainment from the couple in the room above (bedroom olympics) was a little bit unnecessary, but that aside, I recommend this place wholeheartedly ??

    « Superb staff »

Spent one night here and found the staff to be friendly, helpful and a real pleasure to be around. There was an initial mix up when we were sent to our hotel room only to find it had not yet been cleaned since the previous guests had checked out. But the problem was dealt with efficiently and with lots of profuse apologies. Another room was quickly found for us and this one was lovely and spotlessly clean! Food at lunch and breakfast was tasty and hot. Again restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. The pool and changing rooms will need a spruce up and refurbishment at some point, but my son loved it and we enjoyed our early morning swim. A lovely comfortable residents lounge was also a great bonus, but it is the hotel staff that made it such a great stay. Well done!

    « Super hotel »

Had yet another super stay at The Rembrant in Weymouth always receive a warm welcome Christina on reception always has time for a chat and makes time to say hello as do all the staff from starting your stay to leaving nothing is to much trouble for them. The rooms are always clean and plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits ,and toiletries every day ,how anyone can moan about the food I don't know what they must eat at home the breakfast has so much choice from fresh fruit, cereals, juice, pastries, full cooked breakfast, and much much more, we ate twice on a evening and enjoyed it both time yes it might be a little more expensive than other places but well worth the extra couple of pounds.the swimming pool is super kids loved it spa treatments available as well and gym. Will be visiting again very soon

« Nice location to the beachfront. »

We stayed here for two nights and the staff were helpful and knowledgeable. There was ample parking even though there was a wedding going on when we arrived. The room was the biggest let down, as the photos on the website are from the executive and bridal suite rooms. I didn't mind paying for an upgrade but these rooms are not available for families. I was shown an alternative but it was the same dull and dated décor as the one I was in. However, I did receive a voucher for a free bottle of wine which was a nice touch. The pool was a perfect size but water was a bit cold ideal for children to have some fun. Sauna and steam room were amazing. I treated myself to a Hot Lava Shell Massage, as I had not had one before and it was amazing and I would recommend Spa Neo. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to go around. A good location for the beach, aquarium and tower.

« the perfect hotel for kids »

this hotel is a gem for young kids. This is our 3rd stay and my daughter already wants to go again. The staff go out of their way to make her feel comfortable and do all they can for us. The pool is perfect for little swimmers, the menu is great and they can serve dinner AND breakfast in your bedroom so that is the icing on the cake for my girl! can not recommend enough?.oh and it's brilliant situated for the beach, sealife centre, everything. Thank you for another truly wonderful stay - we shall be back!

« Ideal location for Weymouth »

The Hotel Rembrandt is ideally situated just outside Weymouth, with plenty of on-site free parking, which is a bonus. We recently stayed for two nights. On arrival, we were shown to a rather gloomy room with an outlook that included brick walls and a couple of large extractor fans. Despite assurances that the fans were turned off overnight, we were twitchy, having very recently had a hotel stay that was ruined by noise from similar external fans. The receptionist obligingly offered us an alternative room, that was blissfully silent and much brighter. There was no view as such, apart from looking out over the rooftops, but nonetheless it was perfectly pleasant. The hotel was full and it was half term week, but throughout our stay there was a pleasant buzz about the place and it was nice to see families enjoying themselves. There is no doubt that the swimming pool/spa area is a big draw for this hotel. We ate in the hotel both nights and they offer an excellent carvery, it is well-cooked and presented and it was so delicious that we opted for it twice. I had the turkey and the gammon and my husband the beef. The selection of vegetables was excellent too. Breakfast was superb ? fresh fruit, cereals, toast, full English including fried bread and black pudding, jams, preserves, honey, croissants, pain au chocolat ?. The list went on and on. Breakfast is charged at £10 per head and is really fantastic value because you really do not need lunch after the amount you can tuck away at breakfast time! Our room was clean and comfortable and the bed was also very comfortable. Tea/coffee/biscuits are available and these were replenished. The staff in the hotel were all pleasant, helpful and friendly. The hotel is slightly quirky as it was not purpose built so no two rooms are the same, we were told, and this gives it a touch of individuality. Local artwork (which is for sale) is displayed in the public areas and this makes it less bland, too. Best Western have certainly got it right with the Hotel Rembrandt and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

    « Birthday treat »

We stayed here for a surprise birthday treat from my wife on arrival we had a choice of rear or front car park we opted for the latter until we had checked in.. reception was light and airy and booking in only took a matter of minutes we duly paid and headed to our room on the first floor .. The room was spacious with a double and a single bed television kettle cups and tea/ coffee with complimentary cookies which where replenished on a daily basis . The view from the bedroom looked out upon the rear car park so we just fetched our car from the front to ease getting the case to our room luckily there's also a double door to the rear car park saves going through reception lol .. Breakfast I just cannot fault there is everything u would want from cereal fruit and porridge to a full English plenty off variety and loads off tea/ coffee fruit juice all on tap just what u need for a long winters walk along the beachfront which is just under 8 minutes walk , we didn't try anything from the evening menu as we ate out so all in all this hotel offers everything you need staff are all pleasant pool and gym was very inviting

« All in all a great weekend »

We wanted to go away to celebrate our first Valentines Day as a married couple and chose this hotel in Weymouth. Overall we had a great weekend. Our room and the hotel were clean, the staff very friendly, helpful and professional and the breakfast in the morning was awesome - tonnes of choice and the hot food was all piping hot. Our only critisism is that the room we were put in (Room 229) was right opposite a door that lead guests to their rooms and the floorboards were really creaky outside our room. So everytime someone was either going back to their room or going away from it - we heard it. The walls are also quite thin so we could hear everything that was going on in the room next to ours. We didn't say anything to the staff as we didn't feel they would be able to do anything about it. The location of the room and fixing floor boards couldn't have been remedied quickly.

    « Weekend stay »

We arrived quite late on a Friday night and we were met by a lovely receptionist who dealt with booking us in efficiently, was very friendly and helpful. We had a ground floor room with plenty of space and a great bathroom with walk in shower. We had dinner in the restaurant, the carvery was a little overpriced we felt, but it was a nice enough meal. Breakfast was amazing! Everything you could think of and plenty of it, freshly cooked and good quality ingredients. We didn't use the swimming pool and spa facilities as we just didn't have time but it looked great. We were disappointed by the lack of atmosphere in the hotel bar and we felt ripped off when they charged us £3.50 for a large glass of lemonade! We left and called at a pub called The Park where we watched the rugby then later a live band. We would recommend this hotel and hope to return later in the year.

    « Room 238 »

The Hotel has nice staff and the breakfast and leisure faculties are good. We booked into room 238 The shower was cold, there was nowhere in the bathroom to put any toiletries. The room was the size of a cupboard with no soundproofing! Not comfortable! Disappointed will not stay there again. Not up to Best Western standard.

    « Relaxing stay »

Love staying here it's so handy for the town and lovely walks on the door step . Cinema, lots of shops bars and plenty of good places to eat . Very quiet this time of year which I like . The hotel does have a really good restaurant which I would definitely recommend the staff are so helpful and friendly . Free parking, swimming pool ,stemroom and sauna would definitely stay here again

    « Good all round »

We stayed here for 2 nights. We found our room spotlessly clean and the king size bed was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful staff. Free parking and a pool ... conveniently situated. We used The Park pub nearby which has live music most nights.

    « Straightforward and efficient »

Efficient and friendly service, well appointed, free parking (a bonus in Weymouth), and with a convenient restaurant and bar. The location might be a little too far from the more interesting bits of Weymoiuh, but within walking distance of Enzo's. Comfortable, good sized room, and if you peered into the distance from the third floor, the sea can just be glimpsed. I lked this hotel, and everyone was doing their best to make things comfortable for you.

    3
« Clean with good facilities »

Nice enough hotel, does need a bit of an update, quite tired looking in parts just as the hallways and stairs. but has a pool which is nice and parking as well as a nice restaurant. We were in a top flor room and the chair didn't fit in the dressing table, needed a slight revamp but can't complain with the price and it was clean so in all, pretty good.

    4
    « Clean and Comfortable »

We stayed just one night whilst en route to Cornwall. The hotel was easy to find. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The swimming pool area was well maintained. The display of work by local artists in the public areas added a little extra something to the ambience.

    2
    « Outdated »

Stayed there early part of January 2016 and was disappointed with the hotel. They've obviously spent money on reception, which looks nice but the rooms felt very outdated. Stayed at one of the "Executive Double Rooms" but there was nothing executive about it. The furniture looked and felt old. There is a large modern TV with Digital TV, however, limited number of channels are available. The shower has a curtain and if you're anything like me and don't like curtains, you will hate this as the curtain insists on clinging on to you. The narrowness of the shower isn't helped by the fact that there is a handle to help the elderly/disabled, which is understandable but gives you a lot less space in the shower. The washbasin area is quite small and not even any space to put your toiletries. No idea why UK hotels still insist on having a separate hot and cold taps still as it is very outdated and impractical. On the plus side: The bed was comfortable and big. Really nice breakfast with all the usual hot and cold stuff available. Summary: Friendly staff with good breakfast, comfortable bed but outdated furniture and a horrible clingy shower curtain in the bathroom with a very small washbasin.

    « Comfortable »

Just spent 2 nights here. Was allocated a triple room on the top floor, it was clean and comfortable. Shower was not so good, water pressure was weak and kept going hot and cold. Best part of the hotel was the pool and leisure facilities. All staff were friendly and helpful. Good location, only a short walk into town.

    4
    « Nice hotel »

Nice welcome. The room was quite large enough, large bed and comfortable. That was clean and the night was very quiet, no noise. The bathroom was very clean. Just one remark, there is no hair dryer and for a woman that's really annoying. Breakfast is simple but correct. And the service is good.

    5
    « Another great stay »

Have now stayed here twice and both times have been a great stay. Staff are always friendly and helpful, breakfast is buffet style with lots of options and well stocked. I booked a last minute deal and got a very good price of £50 less than the standard room rate. The room we were in was a little tired but for 1 night it was more than adequate, a bit small if staying for a longer period

    « Work stay »

I have always thought that this hotel chain was a good dependable choice. How wrong, booked through a large on site company. On arrival told no points awarded to my gold best western card because I did not book direct. Even extras did not count. On to the hotel, rooms very dated, very poor heating, hot water very bad. Asked reception to do something about shower, no good. Good points, restaurant staff very good, but menu limited, I will not be staying in a best western, unless they review there polices, they will lose a lot of coustom!

    3
    « Overnight stay »

Very disappointing room. Despite going for an up-grade we found ourselves in a ground floor room with a dual aspect ... onto brick walls! No outlook whatsoever and a dull, gloomy room. The bathroom was a wet room - suitable for wheelchairs and well fitted. Everything was clean but furniture basic ... more in keeping with a 1980's hotel. Food was good - no complaints but little atmosphere.

« New years eve package »

This is the second time we've stayed at the Rembrandt to celebrate New Year. Again it was fantastic! The room was spotless, the staff were friendly, the food amazing and the friends we brought with us this year thought so too. The gala dinner was superbly delicious and the band and disco made the evening go with a swing. A great time was had by all. We'll definitely be back.

« Not the usual Best Western standard »

We regularly stay at Best Western hotels because you can normally guarantee a good level of room, restaurant and service. This one let us down. The room itself was fine (it was a superior room) - but it was extremely cold. After much research we found that the radiators had been turned off; not sure if this is standard practice, if it is......Then there was the shower - such a pathetic dribble of water that changed temperature dramatically on a regular basis; not at all pleasant (water pressure problems?). There is also a leisure centre in the hotel, with quite a pleasant swimming pool - but this means that the bar area is FULL of people. Then there was the service - when we asked why the room was so called we were told - as if we were idiots - that of course the radiators had to be turned on. Really. We won't be returning.

    « Enjoyable stay »

The service at reception on arrival and leaving was top quality. The hotel room (single) was clean & very well kept with excellent on suite facilities and a well proportioned room with plenty of space and a comfortable bed.The cleanliness of the hotel in all areas was a credit to all staff. The bar was very good with food available to order as well as a regular Carvery for those that wanted something different,Breakfasts were outstanding It also has a lovely residents lounge. This Best Western Hotel Rembrant is the place to stay if you are visiting Weymouth.

« Great location, staff and facilities »

One of the best places I have stayed in an excellent location. Staff and leisure facilities were great, the menu looked good value. The beds were comfortable and room size really good. The leisure and fitness facilities were really good & spotlessly clean. There was parking. Being very picky, because there was nothing to complain about, and I would stay again, the bath could be doing with being full sized. I would have liked a couple of hooks on a wall for coats and a couple of lights were out.

    « Good facilities »

The staff are very friendly and helpful and the room was very clean and a nice size the bed was comftable and it was nice to have a bath even if it was a small one. The facilities were realy good as there is a well equipped gym, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and swimming pool that are free to use for hotel guests. You can catch a number 2 or number 10 buss into the town from right out side the hotel and if you miss the last buss its only a 20 min walk back, we will probably go back to this hotel.

    « Reasonably good hotel »

I stayed there for three nights while on business in the area, quite good for a budget hotel. The check in was quick and easy, very friendly and efficient staff. My room on the 1st floor was quite big, clean and comfortable, it had plenty of draw space and wardrobe hanging space. Although the room was at the front of the hotel there was barely any external traffic noise, wish I could say the same for internal noise, all the rooms have old-fashioned yale type locks which means the doors have to be slammed to ensure they are closed, I could hear doors slamming almost hourly between midnight and 4am. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice, I also ate at the restaurant on two evenings and on each time the meal was excellent, the third night I arrived back at the hotel too late to be served so had to make do with a sandwich and crisps at the bar which was still very enjoyable. Overall my impression of the hotel was good, it is perhaps a little dated but still very comfortable.

« Good Breakfast, nice Spa »

    « Excellent winter value »

We booked a one night stay and had a large room with a single bed in addition to the double we needed. Reception was quick and pleasant and all staff seemed friendly and helpful. The room was clean tidy and spacious. We had assumed that the £56 we paid did not include breakfast but we were wrong and were assured that it did, Breakfast itself was excellent with a good choice on offer. This was exceptional value (- we still wonder whether we the fortunate beneficiaries of some error.) The hotel was very convenient for visiting family who live just further out of Weymouth. We would certainly look at the possibility of staying here again.

    4
« Good value three star , with the only indoor hotel pool in Weymouth »

The room was nice and clean and the staff very friendly and approachable. We had an upper room at the rear which was quiet but no great views. Short walk to the promenade and local facilities. Local bus stops outside and we went to Dorchester and Portland Island , both well worth a visit. Pool with gym was very nice. Breakfast could have been better but plenty of choice.

« Delightful find in Dorset »

This lovely individual hotel is full of pleasant staff, good sized beds, tidy decor, pleasant environment, good food and a lovely pool and fitness centre, I could go on and on... The parking is plentiful and the rooms are a generous size. We had a lovely time in cold winter conditions but the hotel made us very welcome and made out time in Weymouth all the better for staying here.

« Lovely hotel with a special weekend offer »

We have just returned from a lovely stay at this hotel. We booked it on a special offer of £144 for 2 nights which was excellent value. At the time of booking we requested our room preferences and immediately received confirmation they had been arranged. When we arrived our room was clean and spacious and exactly what we had asked for in the preferences. The staff were friendly on reception and around the building and the hotel is in an excellent location for the seafront and town, about a ten minute walk. The breakfast was very well organised and with a choice of sausage flavour in the buffet! Fresh toast is brought to your table to order as is tea and coffee. We will stay here again if there is a special offer as we are regulars to Weymouth. We also liked the check out time of 11 am.

    « Disappointing »

Stayed here for 2 nights in late November in room 240 on top floor. Room was clean, but small and difficult with low ceiling from the gable roof. Heeded others warning about noise from function rooms, but found top floor was not very quiet either. First of all, the noise from the adjacent fire door opening and closing was loud, and this together with the opening and closing of room doors nearby was disturbing. It wouldn't take much to fit softeners and/or adjust the door closers. There is also a mounted bell on a cord on the landing (can't believe that this is a fire bell) but whatever purpose this is, someone pulled it late in the evening. Finally the noise from the wind outside lifted the loft hatch up and down on several occasions. Obviously high winds are not the fault of the hotel, but it wouldn't take much to secure the hatch against this - as I'm sure Weymouth is quite often windy. Connected to the open wifi OK although kept dropping connection due to a weak signal. Staff at reception and in the restaurant were polite and friendly. Breakfast choice was good, but the restaurants windowless location is a bit lacking in atmosphere and a bit refectory style. Not quite what I expected. There is an indoor pool available, but we didn't use it. Overall, this seemed very much a 'budget' hotel. Whilst the price was reasonable, it was more than I would pay for a budget stay. First time visit to a Best Western hotel - I don't think I will be rushing back.

« Poor value for money »

A Reasonable 3 star Hotel - ref service, cleanliness & staff, but very poor value for money at £120 per night (Off the street pricing) Although we had booked on Line and paid £175 for 2 nights. Perhaps being a Pensioner I over value £120 per bed per night given that there was nothing luxurious on offer!

« One big thing let it down »

The hotel on the whole was good. The breakfast was an excellent variety, hot and tasty. The spa area was good and not crowded. The Sunday carvery was one of the best I've had. The location was good. The room was large and quiet. One big thing let it down and that was not having the sheets changed each night. One night my husband was ill and make a horrible mark on the sheet. The next night we went to get in to bed and the sheets hadn't been changed, just tidied up a bit. For £100 per night out of season, I would have expect the sheets to be changed at the least. Surely the bed is the main part of a hotel stay.

« Weekend away to celebrate anniversay »

Nice hotel. Extremely clean and well kept. Excellent, helpful yet discrete staff. One of the best breakfasts I've had (buffet style - my favourite!). Good food in restaurant. Atmosphere a bit clinical. Good value for money. Highly recommended.

« Fossil Hunting in Dorset »

I surprised my 14 year old son with a fossil hunting holiday and booked us into The Best Western, The Rembrandt. Lovely entrance and fortunately our room was on the first floor by the lift. I booked a family room for 6 night. Our room actually had a double and single bed in one room then we also had a separate room with another single bed with plenty of hanging space.

    « Leisure Club Membership »

Moved from London to Dorset for a few months in search of a gym/leisure club that had a sauna and steam room. Got recommended Hotel Rembrandt for its good leisure club. Lives up to a good standard, the gym is a tidy neat room with all the equipment you need for a full work out, maybe lacking space for dead weight work outs but for machine work outs, its perfect. Discreet, doesn't get over crowded, subtle place to exercise. Sauna room is well light with purple lights and good spacious well designed tiled room. Steam Room is a box room but still does the job. Overall worth joining this leisure club if you don't want a generic style gym and a bit more character, good calm professional atmosphere with a good indoor swimming pool and massage parlour. £42 a month membership didn't break the bank either.

« Cold shower, rude staff, naff breakfast »

Room in dire need of bringing into the 20th century. Cold shower and when I complained was told 'that happens sometimes..' Any offer of another room to shower or some compensation - nope ! and then the breakfast was about as greasy as it could be. I will think very hard before going back. Oh and very patchy wifi too .. not good for business travellers

    « Fantastic time »

We had a fantastic time at The Rembrandt Hotel. Everything was clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a pool and a sauna which we enjoyed. There is also a gym. The food in the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! They do normal things like fish and chips, gammon, staks, all that kind of thing. They also do a carvery every day with a choice of three or four meats. They also do chef's specials, which are more adventurous and stylish. All of the food is hot, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The only problem we had was that my bed (the single bed) was quite uncomfy. If we come to Weymouth again we will definitely be coming back here.

« Saturday Night Stay - Good value for money »

    - Hotel lived up to our exceptions - good value for money - Breakfast was excellent, really good selection of hot and cold food with really good service for toast/tea/etc. - Hotel is in a good location, short walk to the seafront and number of restaurants - Room was simple, clean and comfortable but slightly on the small side - Really simple and useful hotel guide in the room

« Rude staff; poor rooms. Avoid. »

We stayed here to celebrate a wedding and, having never written a review on here before, I felt compelled to write something because our experience was incredibly poor. My family and I were in the bar area, and were the only people in there - so there was no way of us being too loud and irritating other guests. However, we were told to "be quiet" and "enough is enough" by two members of staff when having a laugh and attempting The Three Chair Challenge (!). The older gentleman, by the name of Les, put a complete downer on the start of what was to be an enjoyable day and evening celebrating a family member's wedding. Had we have been in a bar full of people and behaving inappropriately, I can see why we would be told to keep the noise down; but in this circumstance it was a case of someone ruining our fun and making you feel just a bit hacked off about being there. Not a great start to what was meant to be a family get together. In the evening, the same gentleman told off and 'shooed' away the young children who were playing near a fan. Again, had they have been causing a problem, you might understand; but these were children having fun at a wedding!!! He continued to walk around the entire evening with a face like thunder, making everyone feel slightly on edge that we would once again be told off for having good natured fun. Later on, around midnight, my partner asked the barman (a different gentleman; younger, with glasses) if he could get another drink. The bar had been locked up, and this gentleman's response was so awful that one lady, the next morning at breakfast, came up to my partner and said she couldn't believe how rude he had been. Despite the bar being advertised as 24 hours, this member of staff became agitated with my partner, saying he would have to find someone to open it up, huffing and tutting at his request. So much for hospitality. That being said, the staff at breakfast the next day were really lovely, as was one gentleman who served us tea and coffee once the party was over; yet it is a shame that some members of staff couldn't seem to follow in their footsteps. Maybe it had something to do with working in the evening?! As for the rooms, they were shoddy with damp bedding, no hand soap or bottled water, no teabags and generally just of a very poor standard. Paying in excess of £100 can only be described as 'ridiculous'. There were hairs in the bed and our room invited you to shower in full view of the main road!!! The shower curtain was mouldy and the finish to the rooms suggested it had been untouched for a very long time. Breakfast was the best part - a real range of choice with very hospitable staff. In short, if you want to have members of staff put a dampener on your fun and would like to wake up feeling as though you've just slept in a wet room, then this is the place for you. It's a shame that some people, who have chosen to work in hospitality, wouldn't know what it was if it slapped them in the face.

« GOOD VALUE, NICE HOTEL »

Staff were all very nice polite and helpful. very nice hotel with great facilities ,had my 8yr old daughter with us and apart from the pool there wasn't much for her to do [could do with a small games room?] nice well kept gardens and plenty of parking. restaurant was lovely, nice hot food and not overpriced. only about 5mins walk to promenade but then about 5-10 mins to town centre. would definitely stay again

    « Good for a short break »

A clean and generally well presented hotel, with a good amount of free and off road parking not far from the beach. Being only a 20 (ish) minute walk from the harbour and shops, it is well located but not noisy. We had a spacious room which was clean and what looked to be a refurbished shower room. I can see why others have been critical of the furnishings, the matching pine furniture is dated in style but still clean and presentable. Staff at reception were friendly and breakfast was plentiful. A good price and suitable for a short break on the Dorset coast.

    « Short Break »

First time at a BW hotel. Good location.Staff polite and helpful. We were upgraded when our room proved a bit noisy. Pool bigger than expected. Restaurant good if you have had a long day and didn't want to go out. Slightly tired decor but overall good value.

« Good stay-Perfect for parking the car »

We spent five nights at this hotel and enjoyed our stay. We arrived early and our room was ready which was good. The staff were very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to look after us. Our room was on the second floor and next to a fire door but it was very quiet and we got a good nights sleep. Our room was quite large and it had a modern bathroom. The bed was comfortable and there was lots of storage. We got wet whilst in town but the radiator could be turned on so we got everything dried which was good. Housekeeping did a good job keeping the room tidy and replacing the drinks/biscuits every day. This hotel has one of the largest swimming pools I have ever seen in a hotel but it is open to the public. The changing rooms are communal so that might not be to everyone's taste. We had dinner at the hotel every night and the food was cooked to a good standard and the carvery was extremely good. There are a lot of parking spaces at this hotel and this is one of the reasons we book it. The hotel is a good ten to fifteen minute wall into town but other hotels along the front did not seem to have car parks and in the summer I think this could be a problem. There is a lovely park/garden just along the road from the hotel which overlooks the sea and drops down to the promenade for a walk-see photographs.

    « Two Night Break »

My wife and I have just returned from a two night break in this hotel. We stayed in Room 213 which was just above the main entrance and facing the road. This twin-bedded room was warm, comfortable with good space and a nicely refurbished bathroom. There was a hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities but no safe. The hotel itself has an indoor swimming pool and gym and ample parking space. It is situated within easy walking distance of the sea front about 5 minutes away. All the staff were pleasant and helpful if occasionally a little disorganised in the restaurant. The menus for both breakfast and evening meal were comprehensive with good choice and well cooked. Overall we enjoyed our short break and will return.

« Great location and amenities but for the price include breakfast! »

I have stayed in several Best Western hotels now, and this was my second stay at the Rembrandt Weymouth. In our first visit we stayed in the 'modern' part of the hotel, all corporate style furnishing as you would expect from a large Hotel chain. On this second occasion we stayed in the 'older bit', less corporate and more private bed and breakfast with pine units and ye olde dining chairs. But have to say it was very very clean. I would ask that if we stay again please do not book my mum in law into, if I remember, room 279, a soul less box with np day light, twice she has been booked into this room, she quietly says its fine hen explains how much she hated that 'room'. Please don't put her in there again. I would have reviewed this hotel as very good but Im going with average (read as good) due to the fact that the way we booked (via a third party) meant we did not get breakfast included???? Oh come on Rembrandt, wake up and smell the coffee, or at least the breakfast tea, every hotel now has breakfast included, don't be so stingy, include it with the room price. Saying that the leisure club facilities are great but please do away with the communal changing rooms , i.e. you have to strip naked in front of strangers, if i had known neither myself or wife would not have used the swimming pool. This communal , 'lets all change together'(not both sexes in the same room I hasten to add) is a hold over from another time. As a gym paying member at my local fitness centre I get individual changing rooms, please accommodate this modesty request rembrandt. Either way a two night stay was ell enjoyed, with on site free parking.

    « 2 night stay in October 2015 »

First of all Weymouth is great Hotel is not the most ideally situated you will find. It is 20-25 mins walk or so from the nice little harbour area containing the best pubs and restaurants However, hotel parking is good, breakfast was good with quick service and a wide variety of quality choices, there is a free to use swimming pool in the adjacent leisure club, the bar area is a bit sterile/basic and overlooks the pool NB bar was closed at 2300 on a Sat night (porter service available). There were three bitters offered for the beer drinkers. Room was a bit small but bathroom clean and bed was clean and comfortable. Not many TV channels to choose from (no SKY).

    « Reasonable hotel »

My experience of best western hotels is not great so I had very low expectations visiting here, but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a bit dated in places, but clean and pleasant enough. Room was large and the bed huge. Staff were friendly and breakfast reasonable. Wifi so slow it was unusable. Would stay here again if I was in the area.

    2
    « Expensively Poor »

There's nothing drastically wrong with this hotel other than it is drab and rundown and tired in all the wrong areas. In need of some substantial investment and possibly a new chef to justify its high (in my opinion) costs. On the positive- the staff were friendly and the (included- not free!) wifi was good- no complaints there- but if I can find somewhere better or the same for less in Weymouth next time I will stay there instead.

« Warm, comfortable and fantastic breakfast »

In keeping with many Best Westerns this hotel is a bit tired around the edges, but it is generally clean and comfy enough for a short stay. On the first night I ate in the hotel restaurant with a business colleague and I must say the food was excellent ... much better than we expected! The starters were especially good. There have been a few negative comments on here regarding the hotel breakfast .... I really don't understand why. The range of hot food on the buffet is extensive, well cooked and delicious. I'd go as far as to say the Rembrandt's breakfast is one of the best I've ever had ... anywhere!

    « Good weekend away »

Stayed at this hotel 9/10/11 October for a short break. The hotel is ideally situated, about ten minutes walk from the seafront and twenty minutes from the shopping centre and quayside. It compared favourably with other 3* English seaside hotels we have stayed in. There is a large car park for residents. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was excellent and there was also a wide choice of fruits. We had two evening carvery meals which were very good. A choice of roast meats and vegetables and several desserts to choose from. A three course meal for two with a glass of wine each was about £53. There is a leisure facility at the hotel. We only used the pool but it was very enjoyable, the water being nice and warm and they provided towels. There is a small garden with outdoor seating just outside the bar. We were in room 211 on the first floor. No view to speak of - brick wall and what I think were the tops of air conditioning units. There was a rumble from these that was noticeable in the mornings, but not enough to trouble us. The room was clean, comfortable and very large with a big bed and plenty of drawer space. The bathroom was equally large. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

« We ended up leaving within half an hour of checking in »

We were looking forward to this stay as it would have been a month after we got married. On checking in, the receptionist lady was very cheerful and extremely helpful. We thought it was a great start to our stay at this hotel. However after we went up to our room (Room # 218) we noticed a strange smell in the room and a constant buzzing noise. We noticed it was directly above the kitchen area and the aircon units were under the windows. The smells were most certainly coming from the aircon units. A gentleman was trying to resolve this by placing an air freshener in the room but it was only masking the problem. As they were unable to give us another room (unless we wanted to stay in two single rooms) we decided to leave and find somewhere else to stay. Don't stay in room 218 as it is not a healthy room. It appears that Late Rooms customers are treated as second class as it is not a first time we had a bad experience. My wife was starting to have a headache even after 10 minutes in the room so staying there all night would have been unwise. It is sad that this was not resolved and we ended up leaving eventually. Our 1st month wedding anniversary was ruined.
