    « Beware , Pigeons ....! »

Absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel - clean , comfortable , convenient , friendly , good bar , everything in the room worked as it should , good breakfast , free parking * and reasonably priced . * Not quite correct - you will need to factor in an extra £5 ish to get you vehicle cleaned should you choose to park in the first 4 parking bays - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !! :)

    « Great training venue »

Just finished 4 rounds of training at the Best Western Ship Hotel. Great training rooms with residential rooms for delegates. Lots of natural light and access to the outside for delegate coffees and lunch. Good tables, spacious, everything a trainer needs to deliver a good learning experience. Staff absolutely brilliant and helped us to achieve a great course. Nothing too much trouble for any of them. Coffee and lunch arrived on time and to a very high standard.

    « My Surprise 30th Birthday Party »

I had my 30th surprise party on Saturday (5/11/16) and my boyfriend has explain how helpful and accommodating the staff were throughout, from the booking to the actual night of the party. Would highly recommend for a function in the main suite.

« Stop over with some friends »

I have stayed before and is one of the better "Best Westerns" I have stayed in. Decent food and staff are very pleasant. I had a nice room which was very spacious and clean. My only real criticism was that the shower didn't work properly. Couldn't regulate the temperature as it was either cold or boiling hot .Either take it out or get it to work properly

    « Positives and Negatives »

I stayed at this hotel a couple of weeks ago for one night The staff are very professional and helpful, front desk particularly so The rooms are located in a rear extension, which has 3 floors and resembles the Longleat hedge maze, there are stairs, doors, more stairs and doors, some turning back on themselves to Narnia. Negotiating this with luggage, lap top and briefcase was interesting, if not topping up my exercise routine My room was on the third floor, at the rear of the hotel overlooking the car park, the room was clean, however it was dark, even with all the lights and lamp turned on Next to the car park is a Crèche, where children play outside, if you are trying to work in your room, this may be a distraction to some people due to the noise I visited the bar and tried two ales, London Glory, and Green King IPA, both pints were not well kept, the staff were informed, although polite, they were not interested. On this basis I decided to eat out and visit the local pub Collectively, could do better

« Could easily be better but.... »

Stayed for a couple of nights on business. The positives.... good location, nice and clean, decent bar, good wifi. But these are outweighed by the negatives... uncomfortable mattress/bed (after the first night I asked if an additional duvet could be put in my room so that I could actually sleep on top of it to 'soften' the mattress), water pressure in the shower is poor (the bathroom itself looked very new and good quality but the water pressure was bad), TV reception was awful (couldn't watch it - asked for it to be looked at after my first night but nothing appeared to be done). I think the mattress and TVs could be relatively easily fixed....

    « Sylvia's funeral »

A sad occasion bought us to The Ship best western in Weybridge,it was my sister-in-laws funeral, she lived in Weybridge. On arrival we realised we had got our dates slightly wrong, we had booked for 5 nights when in fact we only needed 4, the receptionist said she would ask her manager if anything could be done about a refund, but were told no, it was not possible and that was that!! Our room though adequate, nice bathroom, and very comfortable bed, the room was tired, run down and a very grubby rug, when I mentioned the dirty rug to the reception, I was told that the rooms were about to undergo a refurbishment, no other solution was offered, so I rolled up the offending rug and stuck it the corner of our room. We spoke to some fellow guests in the bar one evening , and they said if you return, request a room on level 2, so there's a good tip, and as we shall be returning to the hotel in a few weeks, to finish off some family business,we'll see !! The staff were really friendly, and a very relaxing bar area.

« A very nice hotel with good facilities. »

I have stayed at The Ship Hotel several times and have enjoyed every stay, as I did this time. The hotel has all the facilities I need and serves good food. I have encountered some noise from events at the hotel during previous visits but my sleep was uninterrupted during this stay. I enjoyed the food in the bar and at the breakfast. My only small gripe is that the room I stayed in was on the small side for the double bed that was in there. As I was travelling alone a smaller bed would not have been out of place and would have left a bit more room to move around or park a suitcase. I know from experience that this is not the case in all the rooms though.

    3
    « Just OK »

Had prebooked this hotel in three week´s advance. Upon arrival first there was trouble finding our names, then they gave us a king size for two buisness men. After returning to front desk they had some troubles finding alteretive, but finally the did. Rooms quite small an bathrooms even smaller. Needs to update to better standards. Breakfast with ok service, but not a breakfast buffet, so kitchen has difficulty handing eggs and bacon with toast fast

    5
    « A good comfortable stay »

It was a good nights sleep in a comfortable room. Lots of stairs to climb but fine for us. There was a weeding on one night so there was noise until midnight for our son and his girlfriend who were on the first floor.

    « Great location »

Stayed for a weekend away near London, the hotel is well situated and easy to find, good parking and walking distance to train station. The bed was huge and comfortable, the room had a couple of small issues but nothing really to write about and the night manager was great and understanding. A special mention should go to Megan on reception who was really pleasant and helpful. Will definitely use this hotel again.

    4
    « Good Location »

We have stayed here many times. Location is good, the hotel rooms are small and we had to carry our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Walking up and down so many flights of stairs got annoying during a 3 day stay. We are unsure that we will be staying here again.

    « Did the job! »

Stayed for one night with two daughters and two of their friends. Sole purpose of stay was for somewhere to go whilst one daughter and friends were at Thorpe Park. The frontage of the hotel looked very promising. Car park was very good. Reception area very welcoming and clean. I had booked one Executive Club Double Room, One Standard Double Room and One Twin Room. The two former rooms were located in the original building whilst the twin room was located in a 1970's-looking extension. All rooms were very dated, although adequate for a one night stay. Bathrooms were basic with in-bath showers and horrible shower curtains. Lounge area was comfy and welcoming. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We only had room service food which was OK, but not great. Only difference between Executive Club Double and Standard Double is that it was bigger. All other facilities were exactly the same. Bottled water was a nice touch and was available in both rooms, although I did not check if it was available in the twin.

« Perfectly good hotel for a short stay »

Just stayed for one night, without breakfast. As one reviewer stated, you can actually open the bedroom windows...hooray! Perfectly good room and bathroom. Public areas are a bit soulless, especially the bar. Free parking was a great bonus.

« Nice hotel very comfortable »

One night stay here on business and found it more than adequate right in the middle of town for bars, shops and restaurants, good breakfast nice bar pleasant staff. Reasonable sized car park inc in price and good wifi.

    4
    « Homely and comfortable »

A very friendly and comfortable hotel. We stayed here whilst visiting Guildford, which is half an hour away. Free parking and slap bang in the middle of town within walking distance of several lovely restaurants. Ideal!

    4
    « Home from Home »

A very charming and comfortable hotel to stay at for your visit for business or pleasure in the south east of England. The rooms are not your standard anonomous brand look with windows that can be opened and tasteful decoration. The breakfast is a five star standard and the staff are friendly and helpful.

    4
    « Reasonable business hotel »

Friendly staff - free parking - nice bar and very close to other bars and restaurant make this hotel a good compromise for a Weybridge stay. The patio is very smoky which could be annoying if you sleep with the window open and have aroom on the patio, Peronnally I had a room on the street, and light was a bit annoying - but I coudl get used to it. The windows are well sound proof however the AC was broken so I had to make a choice... Breakfast is very good,

    3
    « Wedding Stay »

Hot rooms and need showers that actually have some sort of flow on them please.. apart from that the hotel itself is nice with a lovely courtyard that you can enjoy drinks in. It was a hot day and the room was very hot so air conditioning would be good. Free car park is good and staff are helpful.

    5
    « At Last ...! »

At last an hotel where the window opens WIDE At last an hotel where the duvet doesn't suffocate you Quiet, comfortable, modern, good value, with a good breakfast Bar staff... please smile...! Be careful where you park ... pigeons overhead..!

    « The Ship gets a refit »

We stayed at The Ship for a couple of nights this week during the hot spell and it was very nice to be able to sit in the court yard and enjoy a drink in the sun . Best Western have given the hotel a turn around and re furnished and updated some of the rooms and installed air conditioning. The hotel has a very nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful and there is plenty of parking space in the gated hotel car park . The Ship is right in the centre of Weybridge over looking the green so it is good for business and holiday stays and has its own restaurant.

    5
« Lovely staff, huge room, brilliant room service »

Room was really lovely, staff on reception amazingly helpful and room service was one of the best I have ever had. if I had one complaint it was just that it was a really hot night and everything was closed up - would have been nice if someone had opened the windows for a while before I arrived!

    3
    « Really 'hot' hotel! »

The Ship Inn is quite a nice hotel, not necessarily the cheapest ie. add £10.00 per person for your breakfast on top of your room tariff, but to be fair the room we stayed in was very nice and quite spacious. However, there is a problem. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and they are ridiculously hot! Even with the windows fully open it was extremely uncomfortable. The hotel did provide a fan which made very little difference and they must know they have a problem as fans are 'advertised' in the room information and a number of previous reviewers have commented on the unreasonably hot rooms. On the plus side the hotel is well located and is clean and tidy throughout, it is just so disappointing to be sweating all night due to the hot rooms!

    4
    « Quaint »

Can't complain about anything in relation to this hotel. Excellent for the price, included car parking wifi and breakfast ! A downside was the 11am check out. The room I stayed in had a brand new bathroom, although the extractor fan was quite noisy ... Just don't turn light on during the night! Loved the fresh cooked breakfast... Much better than buffet style offered by most hotels. Staff very pleasant and eager to help.

    « Surprise 80th Birthday »

My husband and i stayed here from 9/11 to 11/11 to attend a surprise party for a friend The hotel, staff and room were all excellent. The breakfast was super and we also had an evening meal on Friday and the food was delicious, the service excellent and the cost was very reasonable The hotel has lots of nice seating areas,a lovely lounge, bar area, nice outside courtyard and lovely dining room.We could not complain about anything at all and would recommend this Hotel to everyone.Weybridge is a lovely place to stay

    « Nice stay »

Stayed one night in room 309. Nice room. Had air conditioning. Plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. Outside the window was a whirring fan which might bother some people but didn't bother me. Great location. Didn't eat in the hotel but instead went across the road to Morrisons for a budget late lunch and breakfast. Also noticed a fish and chip restaurant and a couple of pubs. Bus stop across the road got us to the party we were going to. there was a nice bar we had a drink in and a lovely sunny court yard and conservatory. The only downside and why I have knocked off a star was as we were packing to leave, house keeping knocked on the door telling us to check out. The time was only 10.43 so I think that was a bit of a cheek and I told him we still had 17 minutes. I know from a recent television programme that they are under considerable pressure to get rooms cleaned within a short space of time, but I have paid for the room until 11 and I don't like to be rushed (we were out of the room before 11 BTW - I wasn't deliberately on a go slow!). Kind of let down a nice stay at the last minute.

    3
    « Average Hotel »

I was visiting this hotel for a friends wedding and stayed for one night. The check-in was slow and took very long, the room however was very clean. The day of our stay was very hot and the hotel had no A/C anywhere, this resulted in a really hot hotel, sleeping at night was unbearable at times with how hot the room got, even with the windows open and the table fan on. The food was also very average.

    3
    « Excellent staff »

The Ship hotel is in a very good location in Weybridge. All the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Our room, although spacious, was a little tired and dated. Needs to be refurbished. It was very warm but we found a fan in the wardrobe which helped. The room overlooked the inner courtyard of the hotel and I would strongly advise people not to book these rooms as very late into the night people were talking and laughing loudly which led to a disturbed night for us. Also beware the car park ! Lots of space but our car was under what is obviously a favourite pigeon roost and in the morning it was literally covered in droppings. Had to find a car wash very quickly. A good hotel for a simple no frills overnight stay. I highly commend the staff for their incredible welcoming attitude

    5
    « A great experience »

Always Love the breakfast at this hotel, it's a warm comfortable place with a little character, good for access into London and the local amenities. I stay there for its convenance but eat elsewhere mainly due too choice as there is a nice Thai Restaurant over the road. I would like to see more choice and variety on the menu within the hotel. Overall it's a great experience to be enjoyed.

    3
    « Overnight Stay »

The hotel is in a good location with parking but the rooms are a bit tired. The television is rubbish with only a few channels available can't even get ITV !!!. Good Wi-Fi and a good selection of bars and restaurants on the High Street. No air conditioning in the rooms however there is a fan in the room but only one spare socket to plug it into.

« Convenient location, excellent service »

Stayed one night whilst visiting the area. We received a warm welcome at the reception. A pleasant room and very comfortable bed. We had a meal in the restaurant which was very tasty and good value for money. Excellent service from the staff throughout our stay. We'll definitely come back!

    3
« Always been a good place to stay but has the management changed. »

Challenge with a two night booking. Originally booked as one night but extended but somewhere not joined up, even though we when arrived and booked in, assured it was ll sorted. Room not cleaned as assumed we were leaving after first nights stay, Agreed we were staying another night and room cleaned but one of the bath towels looked like it had come from a muddy field. Quickly changed, but? On return late in the evening, key would not function. Had to go to reception and find the night porter he said the system showed as having left. New key issued. The previous evening some of the night staff were having a very heated altercation with some very unpleasant language. Customer service excellent on check out but doesn't right the ineffeciencies.

« Good hotel in good location »

Stayed here with the Mrs for 1 night while we went to a friends party. Good secure car park. Great amazing friendly staff. Room had everything we needed. Comfortable bed etc Only bad thing about room 105 was the noisy extractor fan in the bathroom, I nearly ripped it out the wall lol.

    5
« Ideal hotel in superb location »

Booked two days prior to stay. Had an excellent room at a competitive price for this lovely town in Surrey. Was attending friend's wedding nearby. This was my second visit and the staff and service could not be faulted. Lovely warm welcome. Had taxi waiting for me on time. I had one hour of leisure to unpack and dress for the event.

    4
« Great except for the temperature »

I stayed at The Ship with my family recently as we were attending a party at Brooklands Museum nearby. Had no complaints at all except for the temperature of the room - it was a hot day, 25 degrees, and the room was a bit like a sauna (and the corridor was even worse). The window opened wide when taken off the safety catch but that wasn't much help, so we had to rely on the fan, which did its best - but air con is seriously needed. Apparently there are some upgraded rooms with air con now fitted, so I don't see why it can't be rolled out across the rest of the hotel. When we checked out, a lady was asking to move rooms because the heat was unbearable, and the reception staff informed us that most guests make the same comments as us. Apart from that everything was good - value for money, great location, staff all very friendly and helpful, free parking (quite limited spaces but we managed to get our three cars in no problem on a Saturday afternoon). I would stay again but only if I could get a room with air con.

    5
    « Lovely stay »

We stayed here when going on a boat party for a friend's 50th, the staff were friendly & helpful, the location was great, the hotel was clean, the room was a good size, ensuite was also clean & a good size, we had everything that we needed & the breakfast was nice if a little pricey, would recommend

    3
    « Business Trip »

Had a two night stay at The Ship. Very average accommodation, carpet rather grubby and hard pillows. The room was quiet, even though it was at the front of the building. The staff were friendly. Location good for my purposes.

    5
« One night in Weybridge »

Recently stayed at this hotel with a group of mates after going to Sandown Races. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the facade of the building. Inside was clean and the staff were most helpful. Rooms were a good size and so was the en-suite bathroom. Both were spotlessly clean. We didn't book a breakfast but wish we did as it looked very nice. Bar area was, again, very clean with a nice atmosphere and the staff were happy to provide a selection of sandwiches. All in all this is a lovely hotel in a great location.

    5
    « All fine! »

Stayed here for two nights while attending the Brooklands Reunion. Room clean and tidy, both breakfast and evening meals excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying again.

    4
« Unique Best Western, lots of charm »

This hotel is tucked into a small corner of the Weybridge High St, so convenient to shops and restaurants. Our room was a Junior Suite so a bit bigger than normal but worth it. Comfortable bed and pillows, a table and tea and coffee making facilities. No fridge or microwave, fridge would be a nice addition. Breakfast is part self serve and part order off the menu if you want a cooked breakfast. Parking is a bit tight but at no additional cost. We will stay here again.

  • 4
    « Good Value »

Always enjoy staying here but wifi is very inconsistent in room which doesn't help when work needs doing . Bar area pleasant , well positioned for wandering in Weybridge or for motorway access - rooms are well kept and clean - staff always very pleasant

    3
« Average hotel, small rooms »

Hotel was clean, some days house keeping didn't replenish shower gel. Parking was a problem at the weekends as wedding parties held here. The staff on the whole were pleasant with the exception of one senior manager, she was rude, arrogant and very unpleasant. Your stay will be ok if you don't come across her! I won't stay here again

    4
    « Lovely stay »

Great hotel ideally situated in town centre large car park, Lovely staff this is my third stay at this hotel and I will definitely be back, pleasant surroundings good food, nice clean and spacious rooms

    4
    « Good stay »

The bed was comfortable and there wasn't too much noise in the evening. The surroundings were nice, helpful and friendly staff and a well stocked bar. There's also ample free car parking. Great deal for the price you pay.

    3
    « Good Location »

A perfectly acceptable place to stay in an area where hotel prices are somewhat inflated due to lack of availability. Best thing about this hotel is it's location. You're on the doorstep of Weybridge's pubs and restaurants which is ideal as there are some great places to go. I can relate to other reviewers comments about air con, noise, need of a spruce - but when you balance this against the prices you pay for out of town hotels in this locale it's worth staying here. BTW those other hotels have poor and/or expensive dining.

    5
    « Classic best Western »

Stayed for an early morning meeting in London. Handy location with the station about 20 minutes walk away. Interior looks better than the exterior although it's a real rabbit Warren. Staff were great, got upgraded to a lovely room but it was very hot, had windows wide open and fan going all night and still sweating. Hopefully they will get air con soon. Breakfast was good and checkout easy. Thanks also for letting me leave my car for a few hours. Will be back

    5
    « Great stay »

We had a long weekend at this hotel. Everything was perfect. The room, all the staff (especially the night shift) and the food. Nothing was too much trouble. We were made very welcome and very comfortable. We will definitely be back again next year.

    4
    « Better than expected »

For a best western it's a subtle change less formal and relaxed. Good parking for the area and plenty available. Room was good and clean with modern bathroom with good shower gets an 8. Although not busy the bar was good size and has a good size courtyard for warm summer evenings. Food was good and varied and staff were very good from reception to check out. Bar staff were really good. Breakfast was good and freshly prepared to order. Looking forward to return visit.

    5
« Great place, great staff, great stay, great time »

A really lovely gem hidden at the bottom of Weybridge hill, the restaurant food is superb and the service even better, especially from a Spanish waiter called Israel. We have used this hotel on numerous visits, but the room we had this time, was simply lovely. Great management, particularly Amit, and even the bar girls make sure nothing is too much trouble, thanks guys

    3
    « Needs Air Conditioner »

Unfortunately, we were given a room in the roof, during this hot weather spell and it was like an oven. There was a small portable fan there, which was less than ineffective. Bathroom ventaxia did not work and the carpet needed hoovering. Breakfast for my husband was passable but the smocked haddock I ordered was overcooked and tasteless. I have stayed in much better establishments for the £135 we payed - plus they had air conditioning. We shall not return

« Sleep is not an option »

The crew aboard this vessel are a cheerful, helpful bunch. As for the ship itself? It's lost an oar. It's been spruced up by a new injection of life & personnel on the staffing side but the rooms are still dire. Bland, dark and dour furnishings, poor lighting, uncomfortable beds. And then there's the weather. Any half decent sunshine and its sweltering. If you open the windows, everyone from the hotel bar is under your window making a noise, not the bar customers fault as they're just having a drink. The rooms fill up with the stench of cigarettes drifting up too. The hotel have put a curfew on the outside area of 11pm but the noise was still there at midnight. And the Air Con system? A fan which helps to move static air around the room, but not lower the temperature. So, nice staff, shame about the boat race.....

    5
    « Amazing Wedding Venue! »

We had our wedding at The Ship on July 17th and I can not thank the hotel enough for making it the most amazing day. Special thanks to Linda, the most calm, organised and accommodating wedding planner and to Amit for making our day run so smoothly. Our guests have complimented the food, which we are so happy about as that's important at a wedding. The function room worked perfectly and having the courtyard for drinks on a summers day worked perfectly. Our pictures on the green at the front of the hotel have come out beautifully. Highly recommend this hotel, it's been a great experience from start to finish planning our wedding over the last 6 months - nothing has been too much trouble. Our bridal room was also very beautiful and the special touch of flowers, wine and petals on the bed when we returned on the wedding night was so thoughtful! We will certainly be returning to this hotel as it will always be very special to us!

    3
    « Family Visit »

We stayed here for 2 nights recently visiting family. The reception service on arrival seemed a little disorganised but very friendly none the less. The general hotel decor was very nice and the courtyard out the back was lovely. The room was nice and the bathroom was very modern. The only complaint was there was no air conditioning and the humidity on both nights was unbearable. They did have a fan in the cupboard which helped but was very noisy. They could certainly do with air conditioning. The bed was a bit too firm and not the most comfortable, a leaf out the Premier Inn book wouldn't go a miss! Saying that we had a decent nights sleep free from noise. We only had breakfast there which was very good, a good selection of things available including a full English. The breakfast was an additional cost of £10. I think it would have been much better value if it was included in the price of the stay. The hotel also had free wifi which is quite rare these days. Overall a pleasurable stay and the staff were very friendly.

« Good service and helpful informative staff »

I was really impressed with the receptionist, Maxine:) who gave us good check in and helpful information about shopping area. Thanks so much Maxine. Nice room and in there had equipment we wanted (fan, iron, ironing board, hair dryer etc,.) at night I was really hungry and asked the receptionist about any crisp at front I can buy? And I got it for 3 packs with no extra charge at all. Thanks for suitcase's lady at reception who hard working to look after our suitcase(sorry I did forget toast her name) I would recommend to stay a night here:)

« LACK OF CARE TO DISABLED GUESTS »

My family stayed at this hotel for a nearby wedding at the end of June. Between us we booked upwards of ten rooms including two disabled rooms. One the whole the stay was good - the hotel staff are excellent. However, an incident involving one elderly and partially immobile member of our party in the bathroom of one of the Access Rooms was a total disgrace. The manager on duty dealt with the situation dreadfully. I have since written to the GM Mr Ryan Docherty but the letter has been ignored. Desborough Hotels clearly aren't at all bothered about their duty of care to residents, so anyone from Best Western who monitors their socials, should investigate this incident properly, before the HSE does, and instigate essential improvements not only to Access facilities, but also to staff training,

    « pleasant and relaxing »

we were visiting Wimbledon Ideally placed at a reasonable price compared to London. All so well placed for visiting Hampton Court. Excellent Breakfast would need to a long way to find better. Bar Meals reasonable priced.

    2
    « Average restaurant »

Family dinner and very average. Staff very nice, but for a restaurant that was pretty much empty the standard and pace of service was very poor. 30-40 minute waits between courses with two covers in restaurant is not great. Lots of mistakes made and reordering needed as well. Food was nice, not great for the price though. Would not hurry back.

    « Disappointing »

We stayed here for a friend's wedding at a nearby golf club and was disappointed with our stay. Our rooms were at the rear on the 1st floor and as it was a warm night opened our window to hear the drone of a chiller which kept us awake. In the morning there was no water for a shower. When we spoke to the receptionist she said it was because of low pressure due to other guests showering. We were even more horrified to hear that this problem had been reported to the owners previously but they still insisted the rooms to be hired out - so when we checked in they knew about the problem but didn't tell us! When we complained later by email they offered us a free nights stay at this hotel only, not at one of their others around the country. This is a shocking way to treat guests and will definitely not recommend this hotel to my friends or family. Avoid at all costs.

We visited the Ship for a couple of nights while attending Sandown Races. The receptionist Mel checked us in and was very helpful in answering our questions. She organised our taxi for the next day and it arrived bang on time.We had food in the bar which was very good. The hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable.Room was extremely warm(had to use fan) ,only other minor negative was that there was no milk left with tea/coffee.All staff we spoke to were polite and courteous.Would definitely recommend.

« Our amazing wedding venue! »

We had our wedding here in June 2016 and highly recommend it as a venue or indeed just for a short stay. From the start of our association with the Ship hotel about a year before our amazing day, we found all the staff we dealt with to be helpful friendly and genuinely interested in making our day special. In particular, Sarah and Linda who stepped in as our wedding co-ordinators did a fantastic job and were full of enthusiasm and good advice. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We took up their recommendation of Patrick Paget from Monster Entertainment for our evening disco and he was fantastic. The little games he and daughter Charlotte added in helped to break the ice between our different friends and family and really made it so much more than just a "disco". Great choice, many thanks. The day itself itself went like clockwork, our guests were made to feel welcome and most importantly we all had a fantastic time. Our duty Manager for the day, Amit, checked with us constantly that all was OK and was a great help in organising everybody. All the staff from reception, bar and restaurant that we dealt with were helpful and friendly. Many of guests have commented back to us that the food both for our wedding breakfast and the evening buffet were "fantastic". Those that stayed overnight had a good sleep and enjoyed the buffet breakfast that was laid on for us all in a private room the next morning. Overall, we could not have chosen a better venue for our wedding and would highly recommend it. Big Thanks to everybody at The Ship Hotel, Weybridge!

« Start of the London to Brieghton »

We like the hotel and the staff were friendly and amenable. If there is a function at the hotel parking is limited, but we were lucky and found room for our old classic cars, we really didn't want to leave them on the street and had requested parking for them. We couldn't open any windows in our room as the sliding mechanism jammed. Food was good but the drinks a little pricy (£4.80 a pint of bitter). We would stay again.

    « short break »

My wife and I had a three night stay here for a short break. Hotel was clean and room was fine with enough space for the two of us. Ate out in the evening with a couple of really good restaurants very close by. Undoubtably the best part of the visit was the breakfast. Whilst the service could have been better, it was forgiven as the Ship offers a freshly cooked breakfast to order, with none of the heating lamps, toast your own bread etc etc arrangements the majority of hotels employ. Really good. The bar was good with a comfortable simple lounge arrangement. Pricing isn't the best, so for us the Ship isn't the best VFM around but it suited our needs and was not too excessive to put us off from staying there again

« Good Location, Comfortable and Well Presented »

I have recently stayed in the hotel on business for 3 nights. Walking into the reception area, i got an open, warm welcome from the staff, who checked me in with the minimum of fuss. My room was on the first floor, and although on the smaller side, it was a light and comfortable room, complete with workdesk and a nice bathroom. Room was air conditioned which was great. Full tea/coffee facilities also in the room. Breakfast offered a wide range of choice, from cereals & continental through to full english. Food was cooked to order and not the usual buffet style you often get. The hotel bar and restaurant is also in a nice, modern environment. Food choice on offer is very good and in additon, the bar offers a lovely chilled pint of IPA which always goes down well. One comment I would make about the bar, is that the staff are a bit slow on serving......the till seemed to be a major problem for them, but when you're not in a rush, this isn't too much of a problem Location wise, the Ship Inn is in a perfect place, straight out of the door and you're on the High Street in Weybridge, which again is a nice setting. Like check-in, the checking out process was effortless and again, attentive and friendly staff were on reception Definitely recommend and will be staying here quite often on business

« Small room and pretty outdated »

The lobby and restaurant have being modernised giving you a nice cosy welcome. (With plenty of on site parking.) The room was very small and the bathroom can only be described as tiny. The decor was very outdated. Nice courtyard to enjoy a drink. Really good quality breakfast

« Friendly, comfortable with excellent breakfast. »

I visited Weybridge for a volunteers' meeting at the Compassion UK office. I chose this hotel partly for its close proximity & partly for the reasonable room rate. There is covered parking adjacent to the hotel which is barrier controlled & requires a passcode on exit. Check in was quick & painless & the receptionists were friendly & helpful. The room was, for once, a comfortable temperature. (I often find hotel rooms a little too warm). All the usual facilities were present & available the wifi was easy to connect and the bed was very comfortable. After walking around the town I decided to eat in the hotel bar where I found the food to be of a good standard & reasonably priced. As an ale drinker I was slightly disappointed with the bar as the one real ale was not available when I arrived, the alternative being a rather bland tasting carbonated IPA. The breakfast was excellent with a good range of choices & set me up for the day. After check out they were very happy for me to leave my car in the car park until after my meeting. I would certainly stay here again if a similar meeting were to be arranged & would recommend it to others.

« Great location, quality, beer and food are great! »

Definitely stay here, although some rooms do not have a/c they are very good quality, the bar meals (Ship Burger) are great, deserts are nice, the IPA is amazing (it really is!) and I love the breakfast which is made to order. Great location also as plenty to do down Weybridge High Street.

    « Lovely Hotel »

Very efficient check in, room had everything you could think of and was very clean, big fluffy white towels and a nice hot shower. Would not hesitate to go back again or recommend, only one slight downside was the bar staff were very slow serving drinks.

    « Business Trip »

Nice hotel with a good location for my needs, fast efficient check in. Quite a trek to the room but worth the walk, clean with all amenities however the bed really was not comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was good with everything that you could need and check out was slick. Car parking also included so overall a good stay.

« Fab stay with excellent staff and service »

My wife and I had a lovley stay here. The hotel was clean and well presented, our room was spacious, clean and comfortable and all the staff were happy and incredibly helpful nothing was too much trouble. It makes such a difference when the atmosphere is friendly and the staff are only too happy to help. Had a lovley chat and got lots of useful information from the blond chick behind the bar, like all the staff always with smiles on their faces :). Would recommend to anyone as a great stay for business or pleasure.

    « Business or Pleasure »

Another great stay at this hotel, great breakfast, friendly professional staff. I will be returning to enjoy once more. I would recommend all day long. Situated close to local shops with a short drive or train journey into surrounding attractions and point of interest.

    « Great experience overall »

The hotel is clean and neat, and deceivingly large. The staff were very friendly and polite, and the food from the bar was yum. The two female managers at reception were funny, polite and very helpful.

    5
    « Great customer service »

Held a recent party in the function room here and the staff, food and atmosphere were flawless. The staff couldn't do enough to make sure our event went just as we wanted it to. We were very impressed with their professionalism and positive attitude and the facilities were perfect. Thank you, we will not hesitate to book again.

« Basil Fawlty eat your heart out! »

Sorry but rooms don't all come with water for a shower - or hot water as standard!!!! If the hotel is full beware there isn't enough water for everyone to shower. Then on the last evening I noticed no hot water in the evening and knew what the morning would bring- no hot water for anyone. Oh and an apology or discount for the inconvenience is not even mentioned. At the prices charged per night for a room one would expect MORE. Staff at breakfast were disorganised and despite there being plenty of them it took ages if you asked for something. What can I say except that it took me back to Basil- was I really in an episode of Fawlty Towers - yes.

    « Amazing hotel »

Been here for 2 nights and what a stay, this place looks small from outside but have great facilities to offer. We booked for breakfast and had to leave early in the morning just before breakfast start , I thought we had to skip the breakfast but one of the manager , i think his name is "Amit" arranged early breakfast for us and ensured that we are not travelling empty stomach. This is Incredible and amazing costumer service. Amit is certainly a great asset for the company and made our stay perfect.

    « A very successful function - thank you »

We held an evening function at the hotel and couldn't have found the staff more helpful and efficient. Everything we asked for was provided and done so with a smile. I would recommend the Ship Hotel if you are looking to hold a party.

    « Surprisingly bad stay »

Only stopped over for one night on a trip to visit family in Hersham. First thoughts were good apart from a room not being available at 2.0pm as promised when booking. A quiet spacious room perfect we thought when we returned to the room in the evening and my wife wanted a bath it was then that we noticed that the hot tap was broken. We were offered an alternative room but due to the lateness of the hour we declined this offer. Next morning, more chaos ensued as no hot water at all for anyone as boiler had gone on the blink. it was fixed later although with no hot water tap we still could not have had a proper shower. After a very good breakfast we returned to our room to pack up prior to leaving the fire alarm went off, we duly followed the instructions in our room about fire drill and we assembled outside the hotel. No there was no fire, no it wasn't a pre planned drill, in fact like the hotel staff we had no idea why the alarm went off. Any apology or explanation from any staff member? Er no. We then had to troop back up 3 flights of stairs collect our luggage and come back down the same 3 flights as the lift had been rendered inoperative due to bogus fire alarm, in order to check out. We were offered £40 discount off our bill which we reluctantly accepted. Oh and the stopper in the sink didn't work! Sorry this was so poor as stayed in other Best Western hotels and never had an experience like this before.

    2
    « Not a pleasant night away! »

No air conditioning in the room, and a heater that wouldn't turn off meant for a very stuffy nights sleep, then problems with the water system meant that no water pressure available so no shower or hot water! To add insult to injury a fire alarm malfunction at 9am! Not the best night away I've ever had, although to there credit did offer a full refund!

    « Recommend this Hotel »

The hotel is excellent and I would recommend a stay here, if your visiting London or somewhere more local it is certainly value for money. Service is second to none and all is of an excellent standard. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

    « Nice place »

Well presented hotel. Exceptionally good breakfast. Could do with air con in the room as was a hot day when I stayed so spent most of the night sweating. Naturally not much of a problem I would think for most of the year.

Firstly the hotel looks great and was great fantastic lady behind the bar(didnt get her name) couldnt do enough. the rooms very clean and comfortable breakfast was wonderful the same lady from the bar served us (deserves a pay rise) again great choice and more tea/coffee if wanted and toast . all in all I would recommend and will stay again .

    « 5 star service! »

Great location, comfortable bedroom, immaculate bathroom, very friendly helpful staff and superb breakfast. The staff on duty during breakfast time were particularly happy and their dancing to the background music put a smile on my face! Would definitely stay here again.

    « Very Enjoyable Stay »

The hotel is in a central location and within a short walking distance to all the shops and amenities that I used on a frequent basis. The room that I was allocated was very clean, nicely decorated and a nice room to relax in. All staff without exception were very friendly and made sure that any requests that I had were met within a very quick timescale. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who requires accommodation in this part of the country.

    « Pleasant Comfortable Weekend »

We stayed at the Ship for a weekend Friday to Sunday and found the Hotel very comfortable, friendly staff, lovely spacious room with Queen size double bed. Breakfasts were excellent , buffet style for cereals, fruit, yogurt etc and hot food ordered and delivered to table. Good menu choice for breakfast and food served hot. We tried a meal in the bar, the haddock and chips- delicious!

    « Our Wedding Reception! »

We had our wedding reception at the Ship Hotel and had the most amazing time. The staff were absolutely fantastic on the day and couldn't do enough for us. In the weeks leading up to our wedding day we had great help and support from a lovely lady who is the events coordinator. She helped us plan the day and was first class. The food for our wedding breakfast was superb and of very high quality as was the service and many of our guests commented on this. The Thames Suite and Hampton Suite were great venues to have our welcome drinks and main meal respectively and both rooms were very smart and laid out nicely. Fantastic evening buffet and a very nice room to stay the night in when the festivities finally came to a close. Excellent breakfast the next morning too. I would thoroughly recommend this Hotel if you are thinking of having a big party ie. wedding, special anniversary etc. Well done to all !!

    5
    « excellent hotel »

This hotel is well located, a bus stop outside, with a good car park. Our room was quiet and spacious. The restaurant is good and all the staff are helpful. My only slight niggle was that the pillows were very firm. The staff were excellent coming to check our toilet within minutes when it would not flush and providing fresh milk very quickly when asked.

    3
    « Too small bathroom ! »

I have found the rooms in this hotel pretty good on my past visits , but this time was allocated room 310 which was up two narrow flights of stairs was very small (even for a single room) with a sloping roof and I think it is unacceptable (at the room rate paid )to have to put my possessions on the bathroom floor as there was no vanity top - will stay again but will make sure that I find out about the room allocation beforehand.

« The Ship Hotel, Weybridge. »

A good value hotel, both in terms of both money & standard. A reasonable distance from both the M25 & M3 motorway. We used the railway a couple of days which is close by. It is very central to the town of Weybridge.

    3
« Comfortable and well located »

Stayed here for four nights for work. The hotel is comfortable and well located. If you can upgrade to one of the better rooms, I would, it makes a big difference. I stayed in one of the "normal" rooms my first night and it was pretty cramped. Would do for a short stay, however. Staff was nice, breakfast was solid and the bar/pub is a decent place for drinks in the evening. There is a nice walking trail along the river. The staff didn't seem to know anything about it but if you are a runner or walker looking for exercise, it is a nice place to go and its probably only a 1/2 mile or so from the hotel.

    « Excellent »

My wife and I stayed here for a function 16/4/16. We were given a function discount code so I upgraded our room and we were allocated 301. The room was immaculate. It had the usual tea/coffee but no mini bar (no great loss there). A bottle of complimentary still and sparkling water had been left out though. There was also a hair dryer and iron and ironing board (very useful to freshen up my shirt). Yes the room does over look the main road so there is some traffic noise - but no more than we get at home. Breakfast is a buffet with lovely thick bacon and flavoursome sausage. My wife had a bespoke order of poached egg which she stated were cooked perfectly. Overall a great stay and a fantastic function in the Thames Suite. Would definitely use again.

We stayed overnight at the Ship Hotel Weybridge on New Years Eve and had dinner at the hotel. I do not praise hotels easily however our stay was excellent. « Birthday treat! »

We stayed here for 1 night following a birthday treat to Thorpe Park and had a thoroughly fab time. All staff were polite and cheerful even the bookings manager accommodated two last minute requests without any fuss. Our room 208 was huge with a super king size bed which we didn't want to leave, hugely comfortable. All mod cons in the room and free WiFi throughout. Breakfast is well worth booking with lots of choice and again really good, with very cheerful staff even at that time! Well done keep it up we will definitely return.

    « First wedding Anniversary. »

Arrived at the hotel in the evening as we had been to Thorpe Park during the day. Quite confusing which road to turn down for the parking and ended up on the wrong road, which is a dead end. Nevertheless we got onto the right one and into the car park. Hotel looked nice from the outside. Quite a few car park spaces, although some were difficult to get into. Check in was quick and the staff on reception were very friendly. We had room 207 on the second floor. All the corridors to get to our room it's like a little maze! Got to the room and WOW! Really happy with the room, very spacious, bathroom really nice. ( except the noisy fan! ) bed extremely comfortable. Can't comment on food as we didn't eat here. Only downside to the room was the light coming through from the corridor into our room. I used a towel to block the light! Bar staff were also very friendly. Overall I would definitely stay here again when in the area and would highly recommend this hotel!

    « A good location for a business stay »

Reasonably priced, rooms clean and comfy if perhaps a little dated. Bar staff friendly with a good choice and quality of food. Breakfast good with timings which suit a business stay but could do with being extended for a leisure stay.

    « Convenient and quiet »

Quiet and very clean hotel. Twin room was a little on the small side but comfortable. Helpful staff. We used this hotel as a base for visiting Hampton Court. A convenient bus (461) stops outside the hotel and takes you directly there.(£6.40 return is cheaper than parking there.)

« Absolutely disgusting food and terrible service »

Came here for a family lunch, waited 15 minutes to even be acknowledged. The waitresses didn't seem to have a clue what was going on, the tea cups, saucers etc were filthy, food all came out at separate times and took over 30 mins (just some sandwiches and jacket potatoes) honestly just shocked that somewhere which looks so nice in an upmarket area could be that useless and dirty. Such a shame!

    5
« 5 star food at unbelievable value »

Just amazing atmosphere very attentive staff.... Highly recommend the pork belly dish and forest fruit cheesecake. This is a restaurant for any occasion and I was shocked at the price both for wine and food! I much prefer here to the Hilton and it's half the price. Very impressed

« A pleasant hotel full of character »

This is a lovely hotel full of character & easy access to all amenities. The staff were very helpful & the accommodation was excellent. The breakfast that was served was very good & the staff in the dining room very attentive. We have stayed here many times over the years & look forward to returning again.

« So noisy, no air con »

Worst nights sleep ever, I came here with the wife. They had the heating on full blast in the middle of summer. The was no fans, no air con. It was ridiculously noise all night with people shouting , screaming and banging doors. The staff at reception where useless having come down multiple times throughout the night.

    4
« Good for Business or Pleasure »

Very nice well run hotel with good conformable rooms, pleasant staff. Close to local amenities. Breakfast excellent, a bit tight with one sausages & one bacon rasher but that said I never asked for additional amounts so that could be possible. Stayed here before and would stay again. Enjoy!

    « A great little Hotel »

This is a great little hotel in a good location. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the accommodation and service are excellent. The décor is a dated but the rooms are clean and well appointed. Beds and pillows could be better (we take our own pillows), and breakfast is always a very satisfying experience: the service is prompt and friendly and the food is always freshly prepared and of good quality. We have used this hotel for several years when making visits to family in London and find it meets are needs very well indeed. Great value for money.

    4
« Cheerful but not Cheap! »

Stayed one night enroute to visiting friends. Easy to find, plenty of parking and welcoming reception. Our room was miles away round many corners and corridors but spacious and pleasant with a kettle for tea and coffee. I can be quite fussy about bathrooms but this one looked as if the sealants had been applied only yesterday it was so clean. Had evening meal in bar area, adequate but not much choice. Hotel was allegedly full but hardly any customers around. Breakfast was a much more satisfying experience with a choice of one of everything! Including bar meal the one night cost £155 which was a bit steep but the trade off was perhaps the convenience. Would I stay there again? Paying with my own money, just maybe.

    2
    « Way below par »

The hotel is not especially cheap (c.£100 B&B) but fundamentally the décor is extremely dated, the rooms were clean but again very old fashioned. My duvet smelt of sweat, which lead to a very poor night's sleep! Breakfast was marred by the poor service; I asked twice for tea but it never arrived. I hope I never have to stay here again.

Booked in here on 14th February for a romantic night away with my man. The receptionist that day was so lovely and helpful nothing was too much trouble. Even though the toilet seat was broken it didn't spoil our stay love this hotel. We went to an Italian restaurant for a romantic meal and returned to a warm comfortable room.

« Great place to stay »

    « Avoid »

I have to stay at this hotel on a (fortunately) irregular basis. When I do I dread it. The bar area and food particularly the breakfasts are excellent. The rooms however are not good. See the photos of room 101 - which cost £99 a night without breakfast.

    « Enjoyable Stay »

Visiting relations in the area, checked in and check-out was quick. The staff were very helpful providing us with info on alternative restaurants to eat in when we said we didn't want to eat in the hotel.

    « Excellent Lunch »

This very old Inn arguable the oldest in the country being an old coaching post in tghe past. The reception has been renovated without destroyng what it used to be having a large seating area. We had booked for 1230hrs but were a bit early however we were accommodated without any fuss by a very cheerful waitress and seated at a table with a gleaming white table cloth and sparkling cutlery first impression that this was a good placve to eat. We ordered our drinks a rose for my lady and a large Merlot for me of very good quality and the rose chilled just right. Order given we relaxed with our drinks the starters arrived post haste and werewell presented and the amounts just right not so much that it would spoil the mains. They were very tasty and nothing was left. The mains were of equally excellent presentation filled the plate just right and had been cooked to perfection, the pork melted in my mouth and my ladys salmon was had that really wild fish taste all in all a very good meal which we thouroughly enjoyed. The ambience of the diniing is a bit bland but does not deter from the overall affect of a very well kept and decently refurbished very old Inn. The waitress was very good and looked after us very well.

    5
    « Wonderful »

The best of both. Old world pub with all mod cons. Traditional with a modern twist. Comfortable room, beautiful food and excellent staff. All public areas decorated and maintained to a very high standard. Good surroundings for choices of cuisine or just a drink. Recommended.

    « Business stop over »

What a stunning place this is, stayed here a couple of times in the last few weeks brilliant rooms, superb central heating system that you can control, lots of hot water and great over bath showers. I have eaten in both the bar and the restaurant and the food was very tasty and enjoyable but could have done with a bit more meat on the mixed grill though. The bar staff are brilliant, talkative and engaging the is a normal bar area and a more relaxing room just off it with decent size TVs in both rooms. Free car parking in the hotel ground is a plus and the location of the hotel is at the end of the high street which has lots of other drinking and eating establishments. They only downside is its a very popular hotel with business class people so you need to book early to avoid disappointment. I will be travelving to Weybrdge quite a lot over the next few weeks and hopefully if i can secure my bookings i know were i will be staying.

« Great hotel to say »

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Very nice environment, great staff, and great food at the restaurant. The hotel is situated in a nice part of London, not soo close to the City, It is not that much close to public transport (or I just couldnt find my way around)

    4
« One night stay, very comfortable »

Parked easily in the car park and even better it was free. The hotel is located near to other bars and restaurants so plenty of choice. I arrived early and my room was ready. The place is a rabbit warren of corridors built around a courtyard. There is a lift giving access to above ground floor rooms. Reception area very nice, next to the restaurant, a small seating area and a bar. My room was a single room good size and a larger than normal single bed..a great size. The room had tv, tea and coffee makings with complimentary biscuits. Hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Slightly dated decor but clean and in good order. Bathroom was a good size with complimentary toiletries. Only downside was this room had an interconnecting door and I think this was the issue around lack of soundproofing and hearing my neighbours conversations and quirky choice of music. I am not sure they realised just how loud it sounded. Luckily my neighbour wasn't staying up late and I got a good night's sleep. Breakfast was nice. There were a couple of issues with me being able to charge food to my room. It was a shame I was the one left running around to rectify it, I would have thought that the staff would have done the enquiries given that it was all recorded correctly it was just that the info hadn't got to the restaurant. But it was a great stay and I would stay again .

    « New Year's Eve stay »

We have now stayed at The Ship on New Year's Eve for a number of years. We don't stay for a function we just return there after a night out with friends. We have found it has got progressively better and this year we had a great room, fantastic service and a superb brekkie. Would recommend.

« Great room and service »

We were really impressed with the Ship Inn. We were travelling with our young children and when booking were told that we would have a king size bed and a double sofa for the kids, however when we arrived they had put up an extra little bed which was great to stop arguments. The room was also spacious enough to accommodate all of the beds, our luggage and the 4 of us. We were at the back and it was lovely and quiet, and we slept really well. The breakfast was standard hotel breakfast but fresh and lovely staff, even offering gluten free toast which was a massive bonus for me. The hotel is lovely inside and all of the staff helpful and friendly and we are looking forward to going back next time we visit family.

« One night stay...would stay again if.... »

This is a lovely hotel in a great location with parking. The rooms are a good size, reasonably decorated, with all the usual services you would expect from a best western branded hotel. All the staff we encountered were excellent, very helpful and handled enquiries very professionally. Checking in earlier than expected was a bonus, the on site parking though not huge is unusual for this type of location and we did not have issues finding a space during our stay. Wifi is available in all areas of the hotel free of charge. We travel to the area fairly frequently for 1-3 nights (normally staying in the Staines area) - this would be a lovely addition to our hotels list however no dogs allowed so sadly unless we are dog-free we are unlikely to stay again.

    « Excellent Room/Food »

The actual room and food at breakfast and dinner were first class. The staff were very friendly and eager to please but it just seemed they all needed a bit of training in their particular area of work to make the whole experience 10 out of 10. It was a shame that a restaurant with such excellent food wasn't full of locals but the service (although very willing and friendly) was just a bit lacking/slow and may have got you a poor local reputation? That said, we would come and stay again :-)

    « Very nice »

Stayed at this hotel with my wife recently and had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. We arrived early as we were seeing family in the area and were surprised to find room already ready and no issue with the early check in which I thought was good customer service. Stayed in a club room which was really good sized, comfortable and clean. Room had everything you needed in and furnished to a good standard. Room faced out onto the road so you did get a bit of traffic noise but this was really quite minimal and we had a very good nights sleep. Did not eat so unable to comment on food but bar certainly looked like a nice place to relax and big car park to the rear. Would recommend.

« Company annual Christmas lunch »

120 retirees from Air Canada who worked at London Airport and other U.K. locations met at this Best Western Ship hotel Weybridge on the 13th December 2015 for our annual Christmas lunch. We each paid £22.50 which included a three course lunch complete with one bottle of red wine and one bottle of white wine. Coffee (or tea) along with mince pies at the end of the meal was also included. This meal could only be described as First Class. The soup was piping hot, the main course was a generous sized portion served on hot plates and the dessert was a choice of Christmas pudding or fruit plate. The service and attention by the staff was excellent and I am sure that we will be having our annual lunch there again next year.

« Handy little hotel but always something that doesn't work »

I stay here because it is close to family. Nice staff and they try but it is an old building. I've never had heat at night in winter and there are only thin duvets and no extra blankets. It is god-awful when they book parties or weddings as people run around drunk in the halls during the night so no sleep. I check ahead now to see if there is anything booked. Even if there were signs in the halls or the lift reminding people to keep their voices down it might help. Always some small bit that doesn't work. Average rooms but always clean. Nothing ever really seems to change and I'm getting tired of writing these bloody reviews.

« The Food justifies the rating! »

I stayed here for 4 nights in total as was working in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful on arrival. The reception is lovely and has a light welcoming feel. The room was OK. For a place to sleep, It's fine! It's a clean room to stay in. If you are somebody who will spend time within your room and stay for more than one night, then I found it to be slightly dark, and the shower was horrendous! Very slow, the water pressure was low and so took extra long to wash my hair properly and felt cold. When dining in the restaurant which is to the left of the reception. I must say the service was prompt and the food was Gorgeous! There isn't a huge selection but this tells me that a lot of effort will go into the dishes that they do serve! When they have to many options I start to think how fresh will this actually be. Thanks to this restaurant I have scored this hotel quite highly! Car parking is next door and easy access to the hotel. I would recommend this establishment based on the restaurant food and cleanliness of the room with easy access to the car park. If you want a nice comfortable hotel room for relaxation then I would recommend else where.

« Good hotel in area where they are difficult to find »

This was a one night stay before visiting friends in South London. As such this was an ok hotel. We had an Executive Double room which had good space and all that you need for an overnight and our bed was excellent. In a area where it does seem hard to find a hotel this was a good selection. Their car parking is right next door to the hotel and as such was very convenient and no extra charge! There is also a Waitrose right next door.

    « Xmas lunch »

I organised a Christmas Lunch event for 120 people and it was a great success. The food was excellent and was hot and served by the staff very well. The dining area was well laid out, and I have had many very complimentary remarks from our group, and we will certainly book again next year. This was our second year at this venue. I must say a very well done to Eleanor O'Shea the Conference and events Manager at the hotel for her help and advice in the planning of our event which starts at the beginning of the year. So very well done to all the staff at the hotel. This was a lunch time Festival meal and the hotel rooms were not used so the boxes below were not necessary to complete.

    « Almost 5 stars..but... »

We stayed here for 1 night, very friendly service and good food. Also the bar was excellent with enough choices for having a drink. Rooms are big, also the bathroom was big enough. The hotel is a bit noisy, you can here almost everything what your neighbors are watching and follow there conversation about..

    « Functional »

I had a Club room. It differed to a colleague's double only in as much as it had a sofa in it (as far as I could see anyway). I have to say I wasn't particularly impressed with the attitude of the Receptionist on duty; we had booked 6 rooms for staff - so not a small cost commitment, but the welcome was rather luke warm and a bit "jobs-worth" in comparison with what I am used to. My hairdryer was broken, so I had to borrow a colleagues to dry my hair, and with time pressing to get to our function this was less than helpful. I did report it and ask for a replacement to be put in my room - and this was done efficiently. The rooms were very warm and the windows on a safety catch, so it was difficult to get fresh air in to cool it down.

« Useful stopover for town or country »

I have stayed here a few times. Expensive for week-days, perhaps catering for business and conferences, but week-end discounts are sometimes available through Best Western Group. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Downstairs bar is convenient. A very central location close to River Thames and all local amenities. Would stay here again.

« Expensive rooms for this quality »

Rooms are very small, hotel is quite expensive for this quality. Booked a stay with breakfast included, but during check-in they told me there was no breakfast included. Manager had to accomodate the breakfast. Location at Weybridge was not bad at all.

« Paid for one thing, got another. »

I stayed here recently whilst visiting family with my partner. I booked an Executive Club Suite as to make the stay a little more flash than just getting a standard double. Upon arrival a light was out and I wasn't quite sure what was 'executive' about it at all. I went to the reception desk and was informed the difference in price was because the room was slightly bigger and you were provided with bath robes...There were no bath robes to be seen. The website boasts a much fancier room for the Executive price tag and that was not what I was seeing. I called reception from the room once we had got back to the hotel where the man on the phone then admitted to me that we had indeed been placed in a double room. Needless to say I was not at all happy about this as I had paid for one thing and was given another. To their credit bath robes were brought up to us and from MY suggestion a bottle of red wine. In the morning when checking out I mentioned the issue to the woman on reception who told me that there had been no hand over of this information. I then had to pay the price for an Executive Club Suite when I actually, as admitted by another member of staff, had stayed in a double. Alongside this both my partner and I had a terrible reaction on our skin from either the bedding or the bath robes and were covered in a rash on our arms and back. All in all for one nights stay it was stressful which is obviously not what you want when having a trip away. They need to rethink what they are washing the sheets and robes with and perhaps pass on information properly from night to day staff.

« Lovely large room, quiet, clean and altogether recommended »

A good overnight stay here - pleasant staff, a lift and a good, large room with excellent shower, nice big television, good assortment of drinks, very clean and very quiet. Free, fast wifi and easy parking. Close to the high street. I would happily stay here again.

« Used for training session. »

Used venue fur training session. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Facilities were good there was ample room to train a group of 8. Lunch was hot and limited in choice but what there was was fresh and tasty. Can't comment on accommodation or other facilities.

a comfortable room (great bed and nice amenities), a delicious breakfast (a wide choice of hot and cold dishes), a cosy atmospere and a friendly staff and all that at a very reasonable price! simply perfect :) will definitely go again!

    « Great Hotel! »

Stayed here for the second time on 31/10. Rooms are very comfortable and a good size. Lots of small extra touches e.g. Complimentary biscuits, hot chocolate, toiletries, iron/ironing board in the room. Staff are all very pleasant, restaurant food is very good and varied. Would recommend and will book again when in the area.

    « Just Awful »

The room was the smallest possible that you could fit a double bed in and still move around. a Noise from equipment sounded every two to three min all night from the bedroom wall, very low pressure in the shower, No hot water, could not open the window as it was above the kitchen ventilation, the smell was awful. The bed itself was noisy every time you moved it made a noise, the head board rattled on the wall.

    « Keeps getting better »

We used to live in Weybridge and now return to visit a few times a year. This was our third visit to this hotel and I feel the management has improved this hotel since our first stay. We were greeted warmly at the desk as we checked in. We had a renovated room on the front of the hotel and could see the green -street noise was not a problem due to double glazing. The room was clean and comfortable-not overly spacious but ample size with all conveniences. There was a card on the bedside asking for comments and suggestions for improvement which shows a desire to do the best a hotel can. We were lucky to have Carolyne as our cleaner. She is friendly and helpful and is great at her job. We choose continental breakfasts and the staff, especially Marco, were fabulous. We will be back in the fall as we feel comfortable here and look forward to another stay at The Ship hotel.

    « Wedding »

Yesterday I attended the wedding of very good friends on mine at the ship hotel and I was very positively surprised how good the service, the ambiance and the atmosphere was. They did a very good job for all of us. The service was attentive but never intrusive. They really created a feeling as if it was a family event in someone's home. Exactly like guests at a wedding should feel. Very well done and I know my friends, the wedding couple, were very happy.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to both yourself and your team. You guys did an amazing job! The setup was lovely, I really can't fault anything. From consultation right up until the day, the service was exceptional. It was exactly how I had pictured it and the food was delicious! Thank you so much!! I will defiantly be coming back next time we need a function room! Rob and Herinder

    « Nice Hotel »

Have stayed at this Hotel many times when visiting relatives. The bedrooms are spacious and well equipped. The downside is the little niggles that sometimes occur eg the shower would not work, two lights were out, this was reported to reception and the shower was working the following morning, the light bulbs were not replaced during our stay. also on arriving back to our room late at night we found the tea and milk had not been replenished, we had to go to reception to ask for some. This will not stop me from booking there again.

« What a lovely place to have a special gathering »

After searching Weybridge for an appropriate venue to host a small gathering for my son's engagement party, we chose the Ship Hotel. The rest of Weybridge was busy with Rugby and the bars in Weybridge are generally overloaded and busy. So the choice here was perfect. We used the bar area and had access to the conservatory. The size of venue for 40/50 guests was perfect. The food was delightful and the service outstanding. I would absolutely use this venue again and as a result of our experience my husband and I will spend more time there (we are locals of course). Loved it - thank you Eleanor at the ship for organising.

My husband I and stayed here so that we could visit Thorpe Park. We could not find any fault with the hotel, room, staff or the breakfast. The breakfast was cooked fresh and came out to the table piping hot. We stayed for 2 nights, the wifi was of a very good speed. The bedroom we stayed in was very clean, well equipped with hair dryer, kettle with tea and coffee and an iron and ironing board. The sheets and towels were changed during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

    « Very good but could've been 5 stars. »

Stayed with my girlfriend as there was a celebration for her family taking place nearby. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The bath really should have a mat as somebody could slip whilst showering and hotel could be liable as me and my gf found it to be very slippery. Breakfast was very nice apart from a used marmalade pot being put on a clean table rather than a fresh one. However, as a breakfast waiter myself I have been guilty of a couple of little oversights so no huge deal there. Overall very good and I'll definitely stay again.

    « Wedding Celebration »

My brother and his partner had their Wedding Breakfast there so I decided to stay over night. The room included breakfast, and you had a choice of a full English or Continental . I had a single room which was more than adequate for a one night stay. The hotel was clean if a little tired where my bedroom was which was I think the older part of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room where the Wedding Celebrations were held was nicely decorated and had its own bar. The food that was provided was lovely and there was plenty of it. My only criticism is that the way the gentleman served the buffet. The guest before me had salmon, beautifully prepared admittedly the gentleman serving the salmon had gloves on but after cutting it with a knife he served it with his fingers. I had the gammon which he also cut with a knife and then placed it on my plate with his fingers. Isn't this cross contamination?

    « Formal Dinner - VERY DISAPPOINTED »

My husband and I attended the same Charity dinner on 10th October. The next day was my husband's 65th birthday so for us it was due to be a double celebratory occasion. UNFORTUNATELY, apart from the company and entertainment (which was not provided by the hotel), the evening was a total disappointment. The starters and deserts were served hot BUT the main course served to at least three of the nine tables i.e. 34 of the 86 diners were, without exception, served cold. I know that there were other guests who also experienced the cold main course but I do not have their exact details. Inadequate Customer Service was also an issue. The male duty manager was busy taking meals to be 'reheated' from the first table to be served and because we were on the third table to be served, 20 mins passed before I was able to attract someone's attention to advise them that the food served to the guests on our table was also cold. It was a set menu offering a choice of beef, chicken or salmon. Naturally, the two ladies on our table who had chosen salmon did not wish for the fish to be reheated. That would not have been a healthy decision. They were not offered an alternative choice. There was abnormally long wait between the service of the starter and main course. There was a distinct lack of waiting staff. As for anyone asking diners whether or not 'everything was ok' - that just didn't happen. I am fairly sure that our colleague who organised this annual event will be in direct contact with the hotel in due course BUT I felt it was right to let other people know who may be considering booking a similar event at this hotel and thus paying a large amount of money, the chance to read what could happened to us.

    « Not a place for a formal dinner »

When I was told we would be visiting The Ship for our Ladies Night, I was pleased. The Ship being a Best Western, would be good. How wrong could I be! Booking was problematical, as they could not process my booking when I phoned, but they sorted that over the weekend. Our arrival was easy and we were booked in by a very pleasant receptionist. Our room was clean and well appointed, however only had one set of towels. (another was supplied on request.) We went down to our formal meal, our table had 10 guests on it, but only enough butter for 8. The starter was fine, but after a long wait, we were served a cold main meal....it was supposed to be HOT, but it was cold on a cold plate. We were one of three tables that had suffered this and immediately mentioned this to a duty manager (Maxine), who said they were working on it. After a further 20 minutes we mentioned it another assistant manager, who said he thought it was only one table affected not the three tables (34 guests) that had been served cold meals. An offer to reheat meals in the micro wave was accepted by some, but my wife's fish was not going to reheat successfully and not be over cooked. Hence her 'Gala meal' consisted of a cold piece of Salmon, she could not eat cold roast potatoes...an unusual sort of potato to be served with poached fish anyway. She had ordered Cheese for desert, it was served with all the cheeses on top of each other and thus the blue cheese contaminated the others. This was probably the worst Lodge meal we had ever experienced. At midnight, we went to bed, and would describe it as a worn mattress, with hard pillows and flat duvet. Not a good night's sleep. Still breakfast would be better....or should have been. The Menu offered Smoked haddock with poached eggs. We ordered that and specified clearly we would like 2 eggs, after all that was what was on the menu. The plates arrived with only one egg, and the haddock was not poached, but heated in a pan.(Evidence by the grease left on the plate around the fish). Still a good cup of Cafeteria coffee would make up for it....had we had one. Filter coffee which was stewed, was served in a cafeteria. We asked for a proper Cafeteria, and received two ?Americano style cups' from the bar machine. Again we asked a different waiter for a real cafeteria, as advertised on the menu, and again we had a cafeteria containing filter coffee, however this was fresher. On checking out we did point out our disappointment, and the receptionist tried to help us and apologised on behalf of the hotel. It was not his fault the meal was bad and you did not get what was on the menu. Well I wish I could be more positive, as in the past we have had some wonderful experiences at ?Best Western' hotels, but sadly this was not one such experience. Reader be warned.

    « Disappointed »

The room we had was VERY small. The double bed was against the wall one side. To get in and out I had to scramble out the bottom or climb over my Husband. It was so small we could not both get dressed to go out at the same time, as there was not enough room. I therefore thought it was not value for money. The food and the staff were good

« expensive small room, bathroom renovated few years ago but need clean towels »

    - Room costed more than 150 GBP and it was very small (1 single bed, approx 6 sq meters) - Bathroom renovated few years ago but very narrow and small (approx 3 sq meters), issue was that shower towels had few stains - breakfast buffet was poor and a la carte was ok'ish. Good cappuccino still.

Although this hotel says it's a three star, we would rate it definitely a four star. Rooms are very clean and beautifully presented, wonderful freshly cooked to order breakfast and plenty of it, staff were very nice too. Good free parking and wifi. I would stay at The Ship Hotel again and fully recommend to anyone

    « It was ok »

I didn't get my newspaper, the room was some way from reception, room was large, bathroom was large, got a bath and shower. Didn't eat in the restaurant as it didn't look busy. Went to put drinks on room and they said no card attributed to room, I wish they'd asked at reception, it makes keeping receipts easy. Barman topped my lager up with john smiths by accident, interesting combination. Friendly staff and very nice area with 2 good restaurants nearby, particularly recommend the Nepalese one. Great Gurkhas. I ordered a morning paper and didn't get it, when I told reception they said it's ok I hadn't been charged. I don't usually get charged for my paper as I'm platinum BW Rewards customer. The room was clean but they can be quite a walk from front of hotel.

« It does what it says on the tin »

This hotel served it's purpose for us. The room is clean, check in was easy and the location worked for us. Close to high street bars and places to eat. I glanced at the bar menu but this looked fairly poor, the bar is stunning so I think it could provide a better menu not on a piece of A4 paper? Parking is available and setting is pretty. I would stay again
