"Best Western Yellowstone"
G8782EVmikes, 14 Mars 2024

Had planned 2 nights here, canceled to only one. All staff encountered were great. This is an older facility in the city. Bathroom is very small, room was clean and well appointed. This is a high altitude, cold location in wintertime. The cover blanket on bed was cosmetic. Not a warming blanket at all. Requested an extra but really one should be provided during winter. Biggest issue; the hot water was anything but that. It was tepid and lukewarm and not pleasant for either a bath or shower. Motels make much ado about their breakfast. The powdered eggs were tasteless, the gravy extremely salty. There was NO fresh fruit offered at all. No apple, orange, banana or boiled egg offered . Many, many lodging choices offered in Yellowstone city, many much newer. Choose carefully. Hope this helps.

"Wonderful experience"
mark k, 02 Mars 2024

What a terrific team. This was our first time staying at this Hotel. The staff were incredibly accommodating. Breakfast was top notch as free breakfasts go. Had three types of meat as well as eggs, French toast!, biscuits and gravy. Marlene, who I later learned was the manager has done an incredible job staffing this hotel.

"Excellent Choice!"
kristivine, 25 Février 2024

I won't stay anywhere else in West Yellowstone but here. Everywhere is walking distance. Clean rooms, indoor pool was amazing for the kids, staff were so friendly, free breakfast, updated Tvs in rooms were great.

"Great stay in the winter"
dolittledigger, 06 Février 2024

We travel often and this hotel fit our needs. Staff was attentive, hot cocoa/cider in the lobby and maps of the town. Clean and roomy. Great breakfast selection. Separate are to make burritos. Various meats, eggs, potatoes, biscuits gravy, French toast, various hot sauces. Packaged fruit, tasty packaged cinnamon rolls!! Lots of yogurts, cereals, breads/bagels/English muffins, juice machine and coffee with flavored creamers. Location was perfect so we could walk over to our snowmobile rental place. Walking distance to everything since it's a small town. We could park sleds on sight We did not utilize the pool. My one complaint was the first mildew smelling room but they did switch us right away. However, next room had noisy pipes from upstairs? We had the first level so got woke up to early shoveling and dripping noises outside from I think heat/ac unit. Would recommend a higher level.

"Perfect hotel in west Yellowstone"
Fountain41, 22 Janvier 2024

Fabulous stay at the best western. Clean comfy rooms, great pool, and friendly staff. Great location that's walkable to all of your favorite bars, restaurants, and excursions. Will stay whenever I need a hotel in west Yellowstone.

"Great Breakfast"
MarkG9563, 23 Octobre 2023

The hotel offer all items that you want for a continental breakfast. It even has a wrap for you to make a burrito. The room and the hotel was clean. The bathroom maybe a bit small but it is functional. Separate faucet from the bathroom help speed up the morning routine, which mean can get out yo Yellowstone NP faster.

"Wonderful Stay."
mjc919, 10 Octobre 2023

The rooms are very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were very nice and a perfect end to a long day of sightseeing. The breakfast was amazing! There were so many items to choose from and you will not walk away hungry. There is not a restaurant onsite, however you are steps away from many restaurant choices. I highly recommend this hotel.

"dependable"
Lynn M, 08 Octobre 2023

Best Western is a reliably clean stay. They always have a good breakfast, hardy and filling. This hotel was very close to the park entrance, so very convenient. We prefer interior doors (is makes us feel more secure), we also prefer a lower floor to avoid elevators. This hotel gave us everything we wanted.

"Next to yellowstone"
CherylS932, 22 Septembre 2023

This property is very close to Yellowstone National Park. The location is very convenient to nice places to eat, and the staff is outstanding. We have stayed here on past visits and would stay here again.

"A Good Choice in West Yellowstone"
realjewell, 09 Septembre 2023

We stayed in West Yellowstone as part of a motor coach tour of National Parks. We found the hotel to be well run, clean, with large rooms and a cordial staff. The buffet, however, was heavy on the simple carbs, with the main protein choices being processed scrambled eggs and unappetizing sausage. If you like carbs~~waffles, white bread, biscuits, cereal, etc.~~then it might be more to your liking. I would have appreciated fresh fruit rather than the over-steamed mixed vegetables that were on offer.

"Convenient Location for Yellowstone Visit"
K L, 29 Août 2023

Stay was comfortable and staff very pleaant. Breakfast was varied including hot items. Easy stroll to many restaurants and shops. No real view of the scenery only the parking lot. Easy access to Yellowstone Park.

"Near the Yelowstone Park entrance."
rkbookman, 20 Août 2023

This hotel is less than a mile from the West entrance of Yellowstone park and also not far from the TESLA charging station. A two-block walk in either direction from the hotel passes several restaurants, snack shops and souvenir shops. Plenty of hotel parking in a town that is generally crowded by tourists. Breakfast was good with juices, coffee, hot chocolate and tea available all day and night. A quiet place with clean rooms.

"Poorly managed, overpriced, unable/unwilling to accommodate food allergies after they take your money despite knowing"
Wander533146, 12 Août 2023

Place is overpriced to begin with but I called ahead to see if they could accommodate my children's allergies. Was told they could so I decided to make a reservation. Asked for manager to call me. She never did. When I arrived, staff did not get message. Had to get “upgraded” because they did not have a room available. Got up early to speak to kitchen staff. Was told they couldn't accommodate food allergies. Left for Yellowstone without breakfast for my family as planned. Left 3 messages for manager to call me. She never did. I finally called and she was there but refused to take any responsibility. She then lied to her supervisors saying I was told they couldn't accommodate. That is not true. She never even had the courtesy to call me back. When a customer calls with a special request, they can a) say they can't accommodate and I'll take my business elsewhere or b) say they'll accommodate and actually provide accommodations as the hospitality profession is supposed to do. But don't take my reservation and my money then not accommodate. That's the worst thing they can do. This place did that and the manager is refusing to accept responsibility or provide any reimbursement.

"Very dirty hotel."
sk23123, 08 Août 2023

Our hotel room value was far less than we should have paid for. We have stayed at several Best Westerns, and this one was run down. The toilet would barely flush. Poor water pressure. Very old mattress. Very dirty hotel. Not enough staff. We reserved a room with 2 king beds. It was very tight. Pool was overcrowded.

"great breakfast"
pvkb555, 02 Août 2023

great breskfast, frenly staff, clean rooms, large bathroom, beds great, easy parking, walk to resterants, did i say frendily staff espically Nayet, made stay very enjoyable. Make sur you have breakfast as it is nonequite will, whith a wide seclection of goods to eat.

"THE WORST WESTERN DESERT INN - Bed Bug Bites and super dirty place!"
kbB2511EN, 30 Juillet 2023

The WORST MOTEL in the USA. I was there for one night only and got bed bug bites on my body. Watch out, especially for room #205. Their A/C is not working. The temperature on their A/C is set up to 75 F. Is this the A/C temperature you would like to be in such a hot day and night? They should be named THE WORST WESTERN DESERT INN! I talked to a receptionist, Amanda, and requested a refund and a call from the manager. I'm still waiting for my money! Stay away from this dirty crappy place. Krys

"NO AIR CONDITIONING IN ROOM"
yorkiecutes, 24 Juillet 2023

We stayed at this Hotel, which the Room had no working AC, upon several attempts to contact the front desk staff, NOTHING was done, nothing fixed, nothing worked = NO AC, hot for 2 full days and nights! Nightmare! My Mom who was 79 years old had to suffer with 80 degree temperature and could not sleep at all!!!! What a useless Hotel!!! DO NOT STAY HERE EVER!!!

"Yellowstone 2023"
CTompkins2023, 24 Juillet 2023

Excellent Hotel!! Very clean and close to the West Entrance to Yellowstone Park. Excellent Restaurant Choices within walking distance of the Hotel. Visitor Center and shopping close by too. Homemade Ice Cream Shop next to the Hotel. The staff was very helpful, nice and a pleasure to deal with. We would stay here if we are in the area in the future.

"Nice Best Western! "
KK0118, 14 Juillet 2023

We had a room was a king bed and a decent sized sitting area with a couch. Bed was comfortable. The hotel is located perfectly where you can walk a block or 2 in either direction and find restaurants, bars and shopping.

"Conveniently Located"
SandyMyBella, 11 Juillet 2023

The hotel is conveniently located right outside the entrance to Yellowstone. The breakfast was amazing. Best one of all the stays we were at the past 2 weeks. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

"Overpriced But A Clean Room"
kbates2023, 13 Juin 2023

Riding motorcycles through Yellowstone, we were rained on very hard and this was available. West Yellowstone is overpriced and this place cost twice what it was worth. Elevator was out of order, staff was friendly enough, and the room was clean. We stayed at three other hotels on this trip which were just as clean and the staff just as nice and combined it wasn't this expensive.

"Excellent place to stay !"
wiggygailTX, 06 Juin 2023

Great place to base yourself when exploring Yellowstone! Extra large room and very comfortable and clean ! Great breakfast selection.. friendly hard working staff! Super convenient to restaurants and the west gate to the park !

"Great hotel"
kennystarfleming, 04 Juin 2023

First time to Yellowstone, the staff at the hotel were friendly and welcoming. The location of the hotel is in the heart of West Yellowstone. Walking distance to he main attractions in town and close to the park entrance. The hot tub was relaxing. Very clean. Breakfast was clean, fresh, and delicious.

"We love the Desert Inn"
tntbuzz2023, 02 Janvier 2023

We come to snowmobile twice a year and love staying at the Desert Inn. It's clean, has a great breakfast, and friendly staff. The hot tub and pool are great also. Has parking for our snowmobile trailers.

"Almost perfect"
onewiki, 21 Octobre 2022

I echo everything the previous reviewer said, including what they said about the front desk staff... I waived between giving a a 4 star or a 5 star, because I think the right rating is 4.5 star. Eventually I settled on a 5 star to balance out the previous reviewer. I should add, though, a housekeeper on the first floor we encountered was very pleasant. She was perhaps the one cleaning the breakfast area.

"Nice but that front desk staff!"
Outbacklover, 24 Septembre 2022

Stayed here for three nights while visiting Yellowstone. Room was spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast was very good. Amenities were decent, pool looked nice and the location was excellent. There were plenty of towels, lots of hot water and the bathroom was good-sized. But that front desk staff! Surly is an understatement! Terse, no smiles and no help. They need to go or be retrained.

"One of the best stays and breakfast exceeds expectations"
Rajramani123, 19 Septembre 2022

We booked this after a lot of research. They were kind enough to offer a room in the 3rd floor with absolutely no noise or disturbances. One of the best breakfasts I have had in a hotel. Breakfast room with lots of tables, a variety of offerings from omlettes, biscuits, french toasts, sausages, waffles and usual options -- bread, muffins, bagels. Coffee is top quality and worth mentioning. There is also a falafel food truck inside the Chevron gas station around the corner and they make some tasty falafel wraps.

"No complaints"
scouserontour75, 13 Septembre 2022

Good central location for shops and restaurants and very close to the park entrance Reception staff were efficient but not exactly warm or welcoming, but the staff in the dining area at breakfast were excellent Breakfast choice was very good, replenished regularly, hot and reasonably varied Room was very comfortable, clean and spacious although the bathroom was tiny, a few feet could've been borrowed from the bedroom to make for a better bathroom Generally very good and would stay again

"Okay Stay"
Erica D, 09 Septembre 2022

This was one of our least favorite stops on our Wyoming vacation. The lobby was very nice, but the woman checking us in was downright surly. The room was small and the sink was in the room rather than the bathroom, making the bathroom very small and cramped. Wifi was very good, and hotel breakfast was expansive. I know many people like the location right on the main street, but I found it loud and crowded. The town is small enough that you could stay anywhere in town and walk to the main areas. This was definitely not worth what we paid.

"Great Stay and Location"
weekendtraveler2018, 05 Septembre 2022

We stayed at this BW for 4 days while visiting YS. It is very clean and in a great location on Canyon street to visit the local shops and restaurant on foot. The staff is amazing especially the breakfast crew. Thank you fellows for such good food and a clean area to eat it. This guys kept the food ready and available and the area clean our entire stay. Good job. I would let definitely recommend this hotel and I'm very picky about cleanliness and this hotel past all my test. Thank you for a wonderful stay on our bucket list journey

"Gateway stay into Yellowstone"
vincentw498, 11 Août 2022

I stayed here mostly to attend a business function within Yellowstone the next day. But this hotel was everything you needed as any kind of traveler. Functional Internet, walking distance to quality dining, a nearby supermarket as well. They had a nice looking indoor pool and spa which I didn't use, but nice to know they were there. Standard BW free breakfast was OK--not exceptional but up to par. If I were planning a Yellowstone vacation and didn't have the forethought to book in-park lodging a year in advance, this would be a great place to lodge and enjoy the most visited locales in the west and southern places in the park. Staff was professional and parking easy and ample.

"My Thoughts On Our Stay......."
Jaskel08, 08 Août 2022

In doing research prior to our trip to Yellowstone, we wanted a hotel that was as comfortable as we can find. What did we like: - It was clean. - The room was large (we got a basic room). - The beds were large (bigger than a standard double). - Free hot breakfast in the morning. - Location right off of the “strip”…. which is right next to restaurants and shopping - Pool for the kids to play in. - Hotel staff was helpful, friendly, and kind. - Housekeeping was prompt. The best part……. when I booked the rooms four months in advance, they said no refunds. We arrived the day after Yellowstone reopened in June 2022. We intended on staying 2 nights but because of entrance restrictions (we couldn't go into the park two days in a row), we ended up staying only one night. Without asking, they gave us a refund for the second night that we didn't stay. We appreciated it.

"#1 Hotel in W. Yellowstone..."
nysingle, 24 Juillet 2022

We loved the hotel, so much so that we wonder why it's not the #1 option in W. Yellowstone. It will be our #1 choice. The hotel is one of the nicer BW models (room entrance inside, pretty lobby). Everything worked well - wiFi, fridge. There is a small indoor pool. Breakfast options were good; they have a waffle maker and pretty good coffee. Coffee and tea were available around-the-clock. The best part of the hotel is that it's right in town, so you can walk to all the shops and restaurants. It's on the main N-S road in W. Yellowstone, and just a few minutes outside the west entrance to Yellowstone NP (Give yourself extra time to enter the park, the lines are often long during "rush hour"). The hotel staff were helpful and kind. The price was average for W. Yellowstone (e.g. relatively expensive) but it was worthwhile. We would absolutely stay here again.

"Charged for rooms I never used"
P8702LKjennifere, 11 Juin 2022

Without any reminders since an online reservation in January and no attempts to contact me, they charged me for two rooms I never used. My flight was cancelled and rescheduled so this added to an already stressful situation. I get that's the policy but they refuse to accommodate or make any exceptions for me with a no show reservation. Since each best western is individually owned I won't ever be using this one again. Very inflexible and not helpful.

"wonderful stay"
Dar K, 10 Juin 2022

Wonderful stay 3 nights while touring Yellowstone. Internet very good, breakfast very good with hot items. Quiet and clean room. TV channels were ample an good picture. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

"Convenient location, price right"
Mrpogi1, 31 Mai 2022

Location is convenient to strip malls, walking distance to restaurants and easy access to fuel Stations. The thing that I love most is breakfast time. Breakfast was amazing, staff were super friendly. If we will come back, we'll definitely choose best western dessert inn again.

"fraudulent charges"
coryj203, 31 Mai 2022

Marlene will charge you for the trash you throw away in the room. I had been a loyal customer to this hotel until this incident. The room was never smoked in yet they'll charge you for throwing away an empty pack of cigarettes. I had stayed here close to 15 times prior to this incident and never had issues.

"Great stay!"
sherimarek, 20 Mai 2022

Friendly staff, felt very welcomed! Large clean rooms - nicest pet friendly room I've ever been in!! Breakfast had a lot of variety was very well prepared and attended to. Walking distance to everything. In town but quiet!

"Great stay!"
H7714HNmikeJ, 18 Mai 2022

Overall, one of the better hotels we have stayed at. The hotel was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good with a nice variety food and drink options. The dining room staff did an excellent job of keeping the dining area clean and the food stocked. Housekeeping was equally attentive and we were pleased with the daily service. The desk staff was friendly and helpful in particular Sky with her excellent local dining recommendations. Location is great for accessing the West entrance to Yellowstone. Only minor negative was the exceptionally low toilet in our guest room. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

"Wonderful Hotel"
AliMJohnson, 01 Mai 2022

This was a last minute stop. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. and I travel for work and stay in hotels about half the year, so I know. The hotel was clean.

"Perfect location for a spring bike ride"
karen r, 09 Avril 2022

We went to participate in the bike only opening of Yellowstone for the season. The hotel was perfectly located for our entrance into West Yellowstone. It was clean, the rooms were very nice, the personnel were happy and knowledgeable. Breakfast wasn't elaborate but simple and perfect with eggs, french toast, cereal and muffins. Choices of drinks were plentiful. It was quiet at night.

"Welcoming"
erinalison1, 01 Avril 2022

Stay was great! West Yellowstone is a beautiful place to be! Front desk was super helpful and welcoming!! No complaints, area was safe and secure! Staff at breakfast were excellent, friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend and will stay again next I am passing though.

"Snowmobile Vacation"
shendric2022, 05 Mars 2022

Hotel is in walking distance from restaurants and shopping. I was able to park my sled in the parking lot, jump on my sled in the morning, and hit the snow trails. We will be back next year to enjoy another winter vacation of fun and relaxation.

"Nice place, good value, great location!"
Anne h, 06 Février 2022

This was a clean, quiet hotel right in the middle of downtown West Yellowstone. We only stayed one night so we didn't get a chance to use the indoor pool or hot tub but we saw others enjoying it. The beds were comfortable, shower was hot, and the breakfast was quite good. All in all a great value!

"Great hotel in West Yellowstone"
COOPERfam4, 12 Janvier 2022

We booked a snow coach tour for Yellowstone so we drive up from Jackson. Just stayed the one night but very nice and clean hotel. Staff was very friendly. Location was great. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops.

"Great people!"
Robert S, 10 Novembre 2021

We stayed there for several nights in July. The rooms were clean, with plenty of space. the adjoining restaurant had 4 excellent choices for breakfast that was included in our stay. The manager, Mr. Brock Lee, went out of his way to give my wife and I a ride to the airport, as the local taxi service was unreliable. Would stay there again whenever in the area.

"Best Western quality that used to always be there"
brucep149, 09 Novembre 2021

This property is very well maintained. And gives the brand its signature quality. Spacious and ultra clean and quiet room and beautiful lobby. The girl at the front desk was helpful with lobby printer.. And LOCATION is off the hook. So close to everything and you can just walk anywhere you need to go if you wish. Super safe vibe.

"Kudos to cleaning staff"
Doloresfisherman, 08 Novembre 2021

We often forget that the quality of our motel stays depends largely on the cleanliness and orderliness of the building and rooms. We stayed 3 days at the Desert Inn in West Yellowstone, Montana due to a snow storm interrupting our trip. It was a pleasure due to the work the staff put in to make it pleasant. The pool was sparkling clean as were the hallways despite muddy and wet foot traffic. The front desk assistants were friendly and helpful. We thank them all for a welcome port in the storm.

"West Yellowstone Resort Hotel"
Theresa H, 01 Novembre 2021

The hotel was gorgeous! The rooms are all oversized and spotless! The employees were so helpful! The beds and rooms are amazing! Pool and spa were very clean, the whole hotel looked like new! Amazing property, we will return!

"Happy Camper"
MitchRetired, 30 Octobre 2021

We had a wonderful experience at the Best Western Desert Inn! The host was very friendly and helpful with both hotel and local questions:) The room was clean and warm! The breakfast was hot and plentiful and the waitress was vey cordial and assured that we were satisfied:) Staff was obviously committed to making our stay a great one!!

"Overnight"
Dottie47, 09 Octobre 2021

It was a ok motel. I would say mid level motel. The breakfast was hot and lots of options. The beds were ok and the rooms clean. Bathrooms small and not the greatest lighting. Just what you would expect in the park. We weren't there long enough to make a good judgement. Lady at the front desk couldn't give us any information on travels to Jackson Hole. Really over priced.

"Clean as a whistle"
Roy K, 30 Septembre 2021

The hotel met our expectations. The rooms were large and we were welcomed when we arrived. At first I wasn't overwhelmed, but not disappointed either. We did notice that the hotel isn't that new, but it did seem clean. The breakfast was pretty good, but the kitchen staff were really working hard. The two gentlemen were constantly either cleaning, or keeping the food filled. One day we stayed in town and did local sights. So we came back to the hotel during the day. The housekeeping staff were amazing. I watched them and they worked so hard cleaning everything. It was then I noticed that the hotel was truly spotless. I have never seen a harder working housekeeping staff.

"Good stay for 2 nights!"
globe-trotter-040, 30 Septembre 2021

when booking this hotel I had a special request to book 2 adjacent rooms. The staff replied via email right away that they will be able to fulfill the request. Good clean rooms. Good location. And the most important fact to mention is that during our multi-day trip to YNP and Grand Teton NP this was the only hotel that really had HOT BREAKFAST BUFFET! As it used to be before COVID time. We were really happy to have a good filling breakfast before spending the entire day in YNP.

"Excellent Hotel"
Lisa S, 15 Septembre 2021

We are on a 10-day tour of four National Parks. Based on the Trip Advisor reviews, we made reservations. This hotel was highly rated by others and we whole-heartedly agree!! The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and it seemed to hit all the bases (cold cereal, pasties, toast, hot breakfast items, juice, etc.) The coffee was good. The tables were cleared and cleaned regularly. Best Western Desert Inn is an excellent choice when traveling in or near West Yellowstone, MT!!

"Excellent"
bigflyfish77, 14 Septembre 2021

Convenient location to Yellowstone national park gate and great room size for family. A lot of restaurants and souvenir shops are in walking distance, . From desk and cleaning staffs are friendly and helpful.

"Would definitely stay here again. "
Q6093TPmonicap, 11 Septembre 2021

The hotel staff were friendly. The room was extremely clean. The bed was truly the best I've slept on, including my own, in forever. I delayed getting up to enjoy the bed. The breakfast was standard fare but the breakfast area was very well maintained.

"Great Place To Stay In West Yellowstone, Montana!"
Rochele, 04 Septembre 2021

We stayed here in late August to explore Yellowstone National Park. We have stayed at this hotel before, and we are always so pleased with the cleanliness of the room, the comfort of the beds, and the really awesome breakfast selection. We are avid hikers and we fuel up for the day with a nice egg and bacon breakfast. There is also a large variety of cereals, breads, bagels, fruits and danish to choose from. Coffee, tea and juice stations are also available. We will be back when we return to the West Yellowstone area!

"Great experience"
cottonpicker64, 08 Août 2021

Nothing over the top. Just a nice clean room with comfortable beds. Plenty of pillows. In room coffee and fridge with iron and board and blow dryer. Overall great room compared to others I was in while traveling across the US on vacation.

"Dark, Depressing, Overcrowded and Overpriced"
Ladybird1313, 06 Août 2021

This property is totally taking advantage of the high-demand to stay in West Yellowstone. I have stayed at 5-star properties in world-class cities for considerably less. The location is great, but everything else about this place is depressing. It's dark, the furniture is sad and chipped, the carpet worn, the bed made me want to call a chiropractor in the morning. There were no coffee cups or coffee/tea amenities in our room. The breakfast area was so crowded and overrun, we skipped the freebie and went down the street to a diner.

"Fantastic location, very comfortable rooms"
PSBKfamily, 01 Août 2021

We stayed 4 nights in total at BWDI in July 2021. Location is perfect, near restaurants and other amenities. Pool is a plus for those traveling with kids. Breakfast buffet was plentiful if passable. Kids enjoyed using the waffle maker. The gentlemen manning the buffet area were courteous and well on top of things. Rooms were clean , had working microwave and fridges, everything you can ask for in a mid-priced hotel. Front desk staff were courteous. I've come to trust Best Western for our family stays near national parks. They have have always been dependable for us.

"Clean, Comfortable Hotel"
debstersa, 31 Juillet 2021

I was surprised by actually liking a Best Western. Location was great, it was clean and rooms very large. I have not complaints except for not surprisingly the free breakfast was not very appetizing with powdered eggs. My teens tried it but threw it out. But, that what these free breakfasts are. I did pour sour milk in my cereal and had to tell the attendant, but otherwise, I would not hesitate to stay here. No luxury options in the area that I found. One night was fine for us!

"Great West Yellowstone stay"
mleichman, 25 Juillet 2021

We had a great stay at this property. Overall great location, friendly staff, very clean, comfortable beds, great breakfast offering. We stayed in a room with 2 kings which was perfect for our family. Would highly recommend this location just outside Yellowstone's west entrance.

"Excellence and Super Pet Friendly!!!"
Spresswood82, 25 Juillet 2021

This location did quite well and was able to space out breakfast and include all options. The staff was on top of refills and cleanliness. This was not the case with all Best Westerns in this trip. I understand the challenge though and appreciate Best Western above other locations we've stayed at with our dogs.

"Expensive but normal for location. Nice convenient venue."
Tom H, 24 Juillet 2021

Good location. Plenty of places to shop and eat within walking. Good dining for breakfast. Waffles, whipped cream, hard boiled eggs, choice of sausage Room was nice. Did have a TV malfunction but not important to report until checkout. Would come back again.

"Clean hotel, good breakfast, but VERY loud"
Casey S, 23 Juillet 2021

If you don't mind having the guests above you clomp around playing football/rugby/soccer wearing concrete filled boots for several hours every night and the front desk tells you there is nothing they can do because it's not past 10pm, then you'll love it here. Two of our three nights here we experienced several hours of this loud behavior from the guests above us and on the second evening we contacted the front desk and were told that the quiet hours policy began at 10pm and there was nothing they could do.

"Great place to stay in West Yellowstone"
drewm682, 22 Juillet 2021

Expensive (but cheap for West Yellowstone) ... room was huge and clean and they have wonderful employees who care about what they do. They also have a washer/dryer on every floor if you need to wash clothes!

"Good Hotel In West Yellowstone"
lithlith, 11 Juillet 2021

This Best Western is a good hotel is West Yellowstone. It's overpriced as everything in West Yellowstone, but has a clean room, free breakfast, and is just a few minutes drive into Yellowstone. It's also right downtown West Yellowstone, so you can easily walk to shops, ice cream or restaurants. Our room was spacious with two queen beds. The sink is in the room, the tub and toilet are in a separate room.

"Great Experience"
ryankC360RI, 02 Juillet 2021

Wow, is about all I can say about the BW Desert Inn staff and experience we had. Due to a poor experience at a different hotel in Jackson we called and asked to check-in a day early. The young lady who answered the phone accommodated our request and even honored the same rate for our next two nights. Since they room we booked for the second two nights was not available they even moved our bags for us after night one so we could enjoy our time at Yellowstone and not worry about it. The breakfast was well staffed and the selection was good. Crowds can be big at certain times and the seating area is small. The location is great for walking the town and eating dinner and is less than a 5 minute drive to the west gate. I would definitely return!

"Friendly staff, great location."
spitza1, 18 Juin 2021

This hotel is located just outside Yellowstone National Park west entrance. The rooms are decent with comfortable beds and pillows. Staff was friendly and accommodating. It is close to groceries, restaurants, and shopping for souvenirs. The only thing that bugs me about BW hotels we have stayed in is the cheapy coffee maker in the room, I wish they had kettles, but coffee is available in the lobby all day. Oh! Another small table and chair would be nice also. The refrigerator was big with a working freezer, so it kept our ice packs frozen. That was a huge bonus for us as we drove from Phoenix to Yellowstone and kept coolers with food and drinks. Get a parking spot early if you can!

""Perfect stay in West Yellowstone""
cbpdcop, 13 Juin 2021

We were here for five nights at the end of May. This was our second stay at the BW Desert Inn; the last time we stayed here was in August 2011. The location of the hotel is convenient to walk around West Yellowstone and is only a couple blocks from the West entrance to YNP. Our stay here could not have been better. All the staff were friendly, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the AC worked fine. Housekeeping was done daily. We did not have chance to use the indoor pool. We were most impressed with the hot breakfast; it was great! Offered were eggs - either scrambled or omelettes, meat was sausage or bacon, french toast, biscuits, cereal, waffle makers, fresh fruit, pastries, juices, coffee, tea, and milk. And the gentlemen who took care of the breakfast area did an amazing job of keeping items stocked, thoroughly cleaning the tables & chairs, emptying the trash, etc. The BW Desert Inn could serve as a model as to how to properly manage hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would certainly return.

"Fully Satisfied With Our Stay"
SCoxygenman, 13 Juin 2021

We stayed at 6 hotels in 7 days and this was our favorite. We loved the size and cleanliness of the double king room, space enough's in 2 couples. They have a great indoor pool, much bigger than some of the other places with a hot tub we enjoyed. When we stayed in June they had a full breakfast with everything's you would expect no bag to go. Just avoid the breakfast lobby at 7am, it was a packed mad house with no teeth where to sit. By 730am it was empty. The hotel is located not far from the West entrance and they have a great Restaurant out front. Pretty much everyone you're looking for in a stay at was perfect. Best Western is slowly becoming one of my favorite hotels with great stays in Atlanta, Miami, DC and now West Yellowstone.

"Make this your first choice in West Yellowstone."
Phil G, 13 Juin 2021

Although a little dated this hotel is a great example of the right way to run a service business. The staff is super friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the morning breakfast was vast with lots of choices. It had been sixteen years since we last stayed at this location and we were not sorry we repeated.

"Great Spot Near the Main Street of West Yellowstone"
jlloydparks, 11 Juin 2021

Great hotel located right in the heart of things of West Yellowstone. Had a four night stay with the wife and two kids. The double king room was awesome. The kids loved the pool. The hotel was clean and in great shape for a tourist/resort type town. Staff was kind and helpful. Best Western continues to be my go to family vacation hotels.

"A good choice in West Yellowstone"
mgilbert_twa, 03 Juin 2021

The Desert Inn is conveniently located to the Park entrance and near several good choices for meals. The breakfast was more than adequate given Covid cautions which are still the norm. We liked that the rooms were accessible from interior corridors rather than having doors with outside entry from the parking lot. We did not use the pool but we found that it, and all other facilities at the Desert Inn were immaculate. We would recommend this property to others.

"LOVE THIS HOTEL"
Mitch913, 02 Juin 2021

I have stayed at this hotel on 3 different occasions. All 3 times it has been great. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Hot breakfast has a lot of variety and is very good. Indoor pool is great for kids at the end of the day after being in Yellowstone Park. Location is super: close to Yellowstone Park entrance, across the street from a public park, close to restaurants. I would definitely recommend this hotel. (I only have one problem with this hotel: the toilets sit VERY low and are hard to get on and off of.)

"We visit Yellowstone National Park every year, and look forward to our stay at the Best Western Desert Inn."
razznett, 01 Juin 2021

We stay at the Best Western Desert Inn every year, and have done so for the past 6 years. The value is exceptional and I appreciate the complimentary breakfast as the majority of restaurants in West Yellowstone are pricey! Our rooms have always been extremely clean, and the staff is attentive and kind.

"Comfortable, great staff, great location"
dougmP2555JY, 30 Mai 2021

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Desert Inn. The room, internet, staff, and breakfast were all great. Within walking distance of restaurants, shops, etc. Close to west park entrance. We would stay here again.

"Yellowstone Awesome"
Ron Q, 24 Mai 2021

Excellent location for West, Central and Northern Yellowstone adventures. Good location close to retraunts, shopping. Great breakfast and nice indoor pool. Pet Friendly and great front desk staff that were friendly and helpful.

"Terrific Choice in West Yellowstone"
John T, 23 Mai 2021

The hotel location is convenient. The rooms are very large and comfortable. The hotel is quiet. Housekeeping appears to be very good and the hotel is COVID friendly. We did use their free breakfast and I thought is well done. The staff was friendly and helpful. Their pricing was fair. Parking is not an issue. I have no complaints or suggestions.

"Great Value - and Close to the Park!"
StLBeth, 23 Mai 2021

For a hotel so close to the entrance to a major national park (the oldest one in the system) - literally just a block away - this was a great value. The room was nice, and the breakfast was excellent - bacon and eggs, biscuits, potatoes, and good coffee. That is really all I need in a hotel.

"Best BW"
Fearless720226, 23 Mai 2021

The full hot breakfast always exceeds my expectations. Egg, choice of meats, biscuits/gravy, waffles, fresh fruit choices. The facilities are very clean and staff always smiling. Our favorite Yellowstone place to stay. They also have pet friendly rooms.

"Hotel not what the pictures show!"
kcbodner, 17 Mai 2021

Hotel not what the pictures show! Checked in the hotel and right from the get go this was going to be not what we expected from Best Western. The room and hotel is old and run down. Yes it was clean. For the price we paid totally not worth the stay. We actually checked out within 10 minutes from the time we got there. This was an expensive mistake book in here because we were not refunded for the first night stay.

"Exceptional hot tub!"
larryandisabelj, 06 Mai 2021

After a long days drive to be able to soak in a truly hot, hot tub was an undescrible pleasure. From the moment we walked into the reception area the atmosphere was warm an welcoming. The entire establishment was clean am presentable. Plenty of amenities.

"Nice place"
April D, 26 Avril 2021

Nice motel with friendly staff and excellent free breakfast! Close to everything and appreciate that they allow pets. Gave us a map and recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner. Easy everything..thanks!

"Nice, clean place close to the West Entrance of Yellowstone NP"
ellora2021, 22 Avril 2021

Value for money. Friendly staff. Full buffet breakfast. Free internet. On-site washer and dryer. Very conveniently located closed to West Entrance of Yellowstone NP and walking distance from many restaurants.

"Nice hotel"
Puzzlemom77, 16 Avril 2021

Loved the hotel. It was very clean & breakfast was fantastic, with a lot of choices. Beau from the front desk was amazing & very helpful. He even delivered blankets late at night. Hotel was close to food, shopping, and Yellowstone. Exactly what we wanted.

"ski trip"
jamesmbruns, 06 Avril 2021

yearly vacation, Christina did a great job at the service counter check in, had much in my vehicle to arrange from being 3 weeks in vacation so Christina checked me in first floor on the end to get organized which was great.

"Clean, friendly, convenient!"
markitiki, 16 Mars 2021

The gentleman working the afternoon/evening shift was great in terms of service and interaction- he provided great dinner/drinks recommendations and was quick to replace the hair dryer in the room that wasn't working. The room was large, but a little dated which I felt was ok. Bedding was comfortable and everything in the room worked. The breakfast wasn't amazing but it was enough to fill your belly and I certainly appreciate a property that can make a breakfast work during these times. Parking was free and easy and the location of the property was spot on in terms of walkable to dining/shopping options as well as the West Entrance to Yellowstone. Did not use the pool/hot tub but they were both open.

"2 king beds!"
Candace0nc, 11 Mars 2021

2 king beds in a room is a rare find! Hotel is clean and recently renovated. Beds were very comfortable (and did I mention they were kings!!). Pool and hot tub were bright and refreshing. Breakfast potatoes and meats were good. Nice to have tea and coffee available all the time.

"Very clean"
stephaniemae1, 26 Février 2021

We stayed at this hotel with our2 dogs. The pet friendly rooms were nice. They staff very friendly they even had a goodie bag for our dogs. This was during covid and the hotel was very clean and breakfast great.

"Clean Rooms and Great Staff"
A B, 19 Février 2021

I stayed here for a night in January, I had been stuck inside so long and thought it was safe enough to venture out to Yellowstone because most people are going to stay a safe distance from you lol. The staff here were great, rooms were clean and you could tell they had taken extra steps to make sure things were clean and disinfected. I enjoyed my stay and would come back again.

"West Yellowstone Stay"
cantfixstupid702, 08 Février 2021

Nice rooms, great town! It was snowing and the park was closed. But had a great time going to the local shops. The wolf & Bear discovery Center was really cool! I would love to go back one winter and snowmobile in the park!

"Great comfy hotel"
RangerReda, 22 Janvier 2021

This hotel is comfy and has a great staff. Good breakfast with a lot of choices. It also has a good location. Even though we visited during the covid pandemic I felt safe because every thing was clean and the food service was done in a manner that made us feel safe without taking away from the comfortable breakfast. Highly recommend!!!

"Fall at Yellowstone"
Larry L, 02 Novembre 2020

We visited the last few days the park was open. No very many people and no traffic jams. A lot of the shops downtown were closing. It was cold in the morning, but warm in the afternoon. Ver good experience, and the hotel was in a very good central location.

"Sisters' Trip"
Michelle B, 25 Octobre 2020

We were very happy with the hotel as it was so much cleaner than any other we've stayed in this entire year (Sheraton at Disneyland CA and Flagstaff AZ, Element in Sedona AZ, and Homewood Suites in Flagstaff AZ.) Even the tub caulking looks fresh and clean. The hotel was quiet and served a hot basic breakfast; patrons had to wear plastic gloves and masks in the common area. There was a luggage bench and a luggage stand. The remote was squeaky clean. We asked for extra blankets and they were in clean and in bags. The price was very reasonably. We'll be back!

"Typical Best Western...no surprises"
dragonstarjk, 24 Octobre 2020

The hotel was just fine. Check in was quick and parking and room access was easy. They offered a hot breakfast which was well staffed. They seemed to have good practices in place for COVID-19, such as asking guests to wear gloves at the breakfast buffet. Each bed only had 2 pillows and we prefer 2 each, so we had to combine them.

"Highly Recommend"
karalk, 23 Octobre 2020

Perfect location for the park, Very clean, Staff friendly and helpful, good water pressure in shower, comfy beds, Can walk to shops, restaurants, lovely pool and hot tub, Delicious full hot breakfast!

"FECES IN THE TOWELS!!!!"
Ashley S, 05 Octobre 2020

Feces in the clean towels!!! Let me repeat, FECES IN THE CLEAN TOWELS!!! My husband pulled a clean towel off the towel rack to dry off and it contained feces. Of course he dried half his body before we noticed it. When we talked to the front end manager, Roy or Rob, he couldn't be bothered. Was completely dismissive. I still haven't been helped properly. So much for all that extra cleaning they promised during this pandemic. He was making personal calls at the time so we of course were not important enough to be helped.

"Short night, great nightssleep"
CherylS932, 30 Septembre 2020

We have been travelling hard for over a week. I know that I can always depend on Best Westerns for a great nights sleep. The Best Western Desert Inn is no exception. Clean, Comfortable beds, a hot shower, Breakfast is problematic, but the innovative approach by this property shows how important it is to be innovative. Thanks!

"Always love our stays here"
JacksonTraveler21, 25 Août 2020

This is our go-to hotel when visiting Yellowstone and it never disappoints. Hotel is always clean and the staff is outstanding. Couldn't be friendlier. We don't eat the breakfast, so I can't speak to that. Our son loves the pool. Looks like it has been recently renovated too. This hotel is located a block from anything you could possibly want. We have never drove anywhere in town! It's so easy to walk everywhere.

"Great stay near Yellowstone "
Jeanette1, 25 Août 2020

When we were not able to get to our in-park lodging at Mammoth Hot Springs due to a sudden road closure, we had no choice but to exit the park and seek lodging in West Yellowstone. We were so thankful that the Best Western had availability! We were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff and given an oversized room with two queen beds. On a very hot day, the room was cool and comfortable. We made use of the indoor pool and spa, so relaxing after a stressful day. Then we headed out to explore the many nearby restaurants and ended up at the charming (you order in a repurposed school bus!) Las Palmitas just a block or so away, with excellent Mexican food to eat outdoors. We slept great in our quiet room. We were pleasantly surprised the next morning that the hotel still offers a hot breakfast. We appreciated the precautions in place - guests must don gloves before serving themselves any of the hot foods, and masks are required (and were worn by all staff we encountered). All in all, a nice stay, and we'd not hesitate to stay again.

"Dated and Pricey, but not much choice around"
asia999, 24 Août 2020

The hotel is very dated and pricey for what you get, but there isn't much choice in the area. We had a double queen room on the first floor, the room was fairly big, bathroom was a bit small with a combined bath tub/shower. It was convenient to the pool, lobby and breakfast area. There was a maximum number of people allowed at the pool, we were asked to do a head count before using the pool. A hot breakfast was served, gloves were provided for self service. Housekeeping was provided upon request. The front desk staff was extremely nice and helpful. The biggest issue we had was with the dryer on the 3rd floor, our clothing didn't dry after 2 hours and we had to hang dry everything in our room. The front desk did provide us with extra hangers to hang stuff up. Location is convenient to Yellowstone, restaurants and shops.

"The Hotel was nicer and better value than others in the area. It was very clean and well maintained."
Tholt32, 11 Août 2020

The Hotel was nicer than others in the area and provided a better value than others. The property was well maintained and adequate parking was available. The staff were very friendly and provid d good advice on local dining and activities within the park.

"Best Best Western Ever"
syokc, 08 Août 2020

This hotel and the staff is amazing. We stayed their for 2 nights. From the check in staff to the person who was watching/sanitizing the dining room for breakfast was on another level of customer service. Very close to the Yellowstone West Entrance and many food places and other facilities. We loved it...Thank you.

"patstravelreviews.com"
patstravelreviewscom, 07 Août 2020

Great location in West Yellowstone (although all motels in West Yellowstone are in good locations). Stay was enjoyable. I had problem with Wi-Fi connection in my room, but that was only with my laptop (tablet's connection was fine), plus I used computer in lobby that worked fine. Breakfast was better than I was expecting. Nice indoor pool and jacuzzi. I noticed they had washer and dryer and there was a microwave and compact refrigerator in the room. So convenient for people on long road trips. This was my first hotel stay since lockdown in March. Was easier than I thought. If I am back to West Yellowstone I would stay again

"Great Place for Yellowstone Stay!"
Heather M, 07 Août 2020

We stayed here in Aug 2020 with our two teenage boys and were very impressed with the cleanliness and accommodations. We rented a room with 2 King Beds, which provided plenty of room for our family of 4. Personally, I like the sink being outside of the shower/toilet area because it allows for more efficiency in getting ready in the mornings. They did recently start serving breakfast and it was pretty good! I recommend this hotel as a great place to stay when visiting Yellowstone.

"Reservation Disappointment"
wineoh2020, 02 Août 2020

We had made reservations in advance for a room with 4 adults and 2 childerns. Two king beds and a hide a bed is what we were offered but apon arrival we had been down grated to a room with two beds and no hide a bed so therefore we had to get two roll aways which made it almost imposible to move around the room to use the restroom. They had gave our room to someone eles and degraded us even though we have a best western card that is to offer you a free upgrade in a room if available not degrade the room.

"Just Not So Much"
Lori B, 29 Juillet 2020

If I could do it over, I would have stayed in the park and completely out of West Yellowstone. This hotel was expensive for what it was and kind of gross, to be honest. The carpet was sticky-ish, the room felt dirty, it looked dirty and old, just not a place I should have ever booked.

"Great location and place to sleep!"
jbarber99, 27 Juillet 2020

We booked our trip last minute, so I was very surprised to find such a clean, comfortable hotel! It is literally a minute or two away from the entrance to Yellowstone and walking distance to restaurants and shopping. It was the BEST continental hotel breakfast I've ever had with a lot of variety. My kids even liked the choices! The room was spacious and clean. Definitely one of the nicest Best Westerns I've stayed at. We would definitely stay here again!

"Amazing: this establishment has it's (COVID) act together."
mtscribe, 19 Juillet 2020

Foot-pump hand sanitizer dispenser at checkin desk set the stage for a very comfortable weekend stay. We were permitted into our rooms right at 3 pm but the room check clerk was right behind us as the room had not had its final inspection! Large well appointed (although a bit old) rooms. Quiet. Only pre-packaged items for breakfast of course (COVID rules) but a staff person was there to clean coffee after each person (or every other person) use! Oh, did I forget there was hand sanitizer at each elevator station? One of our rooms had a kitchenette but bring your own utensils. Full fridge and microwave. Two queens and pullout sofa. Yes, no housekeeping services but for a three-day weekend, you can manage. All desk and maintenance staff were cordial. We were permitted to keep one room an extra hour with no problem. We only encountered male staff, BTW. Located near shopping blocks on main drag, kitty-corner from huge town park. Nice (salt water?) pool with patrons self-maintained social distancing.

"Top Notch"
karoleigh, 19 Juillet 2020

I've stayed in many Best Western hotels and I feel that this one could qualify as a Plus. I've actually been to some Best Western Plus hotels that aren't as nice as this one. Although pricey, this West Yellowstone Best Western Inn is a beautiful, well maintained facility. It was so charming with the little special touches in the lobby with a western theme. We stayed on the third floor and it was quiet. As for the room comfort, the room was large, with two queen beds. I liked the sink separate from the toilet and shower area. The decor is pleasant, with attractive carpeting. There are plenty of places for plugging in devices. The room has the standard refrigerator and microwave oven. We did not use the pool, but we did use the hot tub. The pool area seemed to be well maintained with plenty of fresh towels. They offered Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches and a number of other foods. There was seating well spaced apart for eating in the breakfast room. There were a couple of outdoors tables if you'd rather eat there. It's very close to the park entrance and it's fun to walk around the town and shop after dining. We would like to stay here again on our next visit.

"nice location but no daily room service"
Robert H, 18 Juillet 2020

I stayed for seven nights so you can imagine things getting a little dirty. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, daily room service was eliminated. You can request one if needed . The Covid-19 breakfast sucks. You get what is equivalent to Egg Mcmuffin, breakfast burritos, granola bars, fruit bowl , etc. Oh, did I mention the tiny muffins? They were tasty but they fell apart upon contact. All the gooey, tiny pieces of the muffin fell on the carpet. What a mess!!! On a daily basis, I took my trash cans outside to dump the contents into a larger garbage can. I had to ask for more soap, coffee, coffee cups, sugar, cream. When I asked for the items at the front desk, I was told to go back to the coffee room to get the sugar, cream, etc. I said , "No" I wanted the plastic package with everything in it. Hey, I paid over two thousand dollars for my stay, I deserve better service. I thought the ladies at the front desk were rather rude. I could have asked for room service but the Covid-19 works like a two way street. The staff fear me and I fear them so I did not want an asymptomatic carrier to clean my room.. Oh did I mention the staff in the morning? More than once, the staff in the breakfast area did not wear their masks. As more clients show up, they got the message and masked up. The positives: the hotel is located very close to many restaurants like, Slippery Otter, Firehole BBQ, the Mexican restaurant in a bus ( I forgot the name) , two pizza places, and the Red Lotus. My room was very quiet. AC worked great. I may have to think twice about coming back here .

"Rude staff and hair in the pool!!!"
ChelseaC116, 11 Juillet 2020

Our stay at The Best Western Desert Inn was awful! It when we walked in and told the woman at the desk that we were checking in. She stood there staring at us and finally, in a very rude tone, asked us what our last name was. We told her our last name and she proceeded to look at her computer for our reservation. She started getting a really puzzled look on her face as if she couldn't find our reservation. She asked if we had checked in online. I told her we had received an email about pre-checking in and had followed the instructions in the email. She then stated “oh well that's different” and turned around and started looking at piles of papers on the desk behind her. The rest of the check in process was uneventful. Our room was some type of king studio and was nothing special. After walking around town and getting dinner we decided to go for a swim in the hotel pool. Bad decision! As we walked into the pool area we looked down into the deep end of the pool and, what should we see, but a giant clump of hair at the bottom of the pool. As we walked around the pool we could see more hair floating all around and another giant clump of hair further into the shallow end of the pool. When we went to the front desk to let them know about the hair in the pool the same woman replied “well it wasn't there earlier because I cleaned the pool this morning”. No apology from her. Just more rudeness. At that point there was no way we were getting back inti that pool and went back up to our room. Needless to say we were not happy. We had originally planned on staying for two nights but immediately called down to the front desk and canceled our second night. We didn't sleep well that night because the bed was very creaky and extremely uncomfortable. The entire town of West Yellowstone seemed very rough around the edges, rundown, expensive and extremely touristy. We were so disappointed in our stay that we changed every reservation that we had at Best Westerns during our two week vacation, to reservations at Hilton's. I have been in contact with Best Western to get at least a partial refund for our stay but, so far have had no luck. I am not giving up. If you're going to visit Yellowstone National Park, you're better off staying at the town of Gardiner, near the North entrance. We passed through Gardiner on our way to Bozeman, where we ended up staying for our second night at a much better rate, in a 2 room King suite.

"Great Hotel"
Genevieve J, 09 Juillet 2020

There were many hotels to stay in West Yellowstone. It is very covenient and next to many restaurants and gift shops, within walking distance. The grab and go breakfast was perfect, and the kids enjoyed the pool. The best were comfortable.

"Comfortable and clean"
A T, 08 Mars 2020

Stay for two nights for a snowmobile tour into Yellowstone National Park. Had a very spacious room. Bed, linens and pillows comfortable. Had plenty of towels upon arrival. Lot's of extra touches you expect in a luxury hotel such as make up remover packets and heavy duty cloth towels, and replenish each day. Breakfast had a nice variety with proteins if you're avoiding carbs. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

"Oasis near Yellowstone"
RockyMountainDiva, 27 Février 2020

Large, clean comfortable room with a fridge and microwave. Plenty of towels in bathroom. Sink was outside of bathroom and had a spacious counter. The room had chairs and a desk. Plenty of electrical and USB outlets in the room! Before we arrived we looked online to see if a guest laundry was listed as an amenity and it was not, so we were surprised and pleased to find 2 on site, and a good supply of quarters at the front desk. The staff was helpful, and the pool and hot tub area was clean and well-stocked with towels. Breakfast was good but it would be nice to have some fresh berries. They did offer dairy-free milk and gluten free bread. Service at breakfast was outstanding! We were interested in a winter Yellowstone trip and the staff gave us some brochures for several coach and snowmobile tours. We were able to book a coach tour for the next day, and got picked up right at the motel!

"Clean Friendly Hotel"
mematsenphotography, 07 Février 2020

Thoroughly enjoyed my brief visit to this hotel! The room was clean and spacious and I couldn't hear any of the neighbors, which is always a bonus! The pool was lovely and the hot breakfast was perfect before a long day in Yellowstone!

"Winter Escape to Yellowstone"
scottr691, 07 Février 2020

We planned a one day snow coach trip to Old Faithful and the Gyser Basins and wanted to start out the day out fresh. So we stayed in West Yellostone the night before the excursion. I really like Best Western accommodations and this site was no exception. Great King Bed room with seating area for less then $100.00/ Fantastic breakfast with fresh cooked eggs, sausage and bacon. Very friendly personnel.

"Great economy hotel"
Bamboo_Orchid, 02 Février 2020

The hotel is old, and breakfast isn't great, but I gave this Best Western a top rating because it was comfortable and met our needs for three nights while visiting Yellowstone in January. The hotel is conveniently located within blocks to an entrance of Yellowstone. We were able to walk all over West Yellowstone from here to restaurants and shops and the IMAX and Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center were just a short walk away as well. The hotel has an indoor pool and hot tub area that were clean and well-maintained. The common areas on the main floor were also clean and well-stocked. We could always get coffee and hot water for tea, cocoa or hot cider. In the morning during breakfast service, there was hot food and staff standing by ready and waiting to restock the food and tidy up after the guests. My issue with breakfast was perhaps that it is “free” included in the room price, so food quality and options were cheap. For what it was, it was quite impressive. And I was able to thoroughly enjoy a delicious half grapefruit each morning. Our room itself was spacious. The internet speeds were good. We also had good cell phone service from AT&T at this location. Shower water temperatures and pressures were great. Hotel was quiet and peaceful. The staff were always courteous and polite. We were really comfortable here and enjoyed our stay.

"Great stay"
H1898LAamyt, 12 Janvier 2020

Easy, quick check in. Clean and quiet rooms. Great breakfast and excellent staff. We used the shuttle service to go back and forth for snowmobile rentals. Every staff member that we encountered was pleasant, helpful, and very accommodating. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Clean reasonably priced hotel"
daliborz409, 08 Janvier 2020

From all 2+ weeks trip this was the best hotel I have staid in. Nice stuff, very clean rooms, pool. Fully recommended. The cleanest hotel out of my 2+ weeks trip. And the location is for sure excellent. You can have a pickup to Yellowstone trip directly from hotel lobby.

"Good location, comfortable rooms"
JuneC, 07 Janvier 2020

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end of our trip into Yellowstone National Park. Our shuttle tour on picked us up at the hotel. With four of us in a room, it was nice to have a sink outside of the bathroom. Having a mini fridge and microwave in the room was very convenient. The swimming pool and hot tub were refreshing and relaxing at the end of the day. The complimentary breakfast included eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal, yogurt, waffles, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, breads, juices, coffee and tea. There are restaurants walking distance for dinner.

Quick checkin and check out clean and quiet room. Friendly staff and had a great meal in the dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Close to downtown and easy on off the interstate will definitely stay on the next trip through.

"Wonderful and quiet hotel next to Yellowstone"
SherrieBL, 09 Novembre 2019

We had a great 3-night stay in Autumn. The staff were good at their jobs: friendly, helpful, and efficient. The room was quiet, clean, and beds were comfortable. Breakfast had everything I wanted for a hearty protein meal; while my husband enjoyed eating the lighter fare of fruit, pastries, cereal and yogurt. There is an excellent restaurant a very short walk away. Everything about our stay was perfect!

"One of the very best hotel in the area"
Hemant R, 04 Novembre 2019

The hotel is just a couple of blocks away from the park entrance, and is on the main street, with all the restaurants, and shopping. The hotel itself was very good, clean and had a good spread of breakfast in the morning. Definitely recommend staying here when visiting the park.

"Great Place To Stay"
Rick L, 02 Novembre 2019

Great place to stay - Staff is friendly- Close to entrance to Yellowstone Park - We stay here every year - Good breakfast - Comfortable rooms - We will be back next year - I recommend this place to my friends...

"Great location and wonderful responsive staff"
LMO1946, 29 Octobre 2019

We selected this Best Western because of its proximity to Yellowstone park (it is located right at the west entrance to the park). Since we arrived in the morning we had planned to tour the park a bit before registering into the hotel. Unfortunately, the park was temporarily closed due to winter weather conditions! so we explored the town and visitor center and then went to BW a little early and were able to get into our room. The folks at the desk commiserated with us and made several suggestions for things to do as we waited for the park to reopen. There was a restaurant right next door and shops to explore within walking distance and various hiking trails in the area. Also, it is important to note that the beds are awesome and we slept like babies!

"Very nice hotel"
smoo75, 25 Octobre 2019

The location of this hotel is great - very close to the west entrance of Yellowstone, and right in town so that you can walk to restaurants and shops. Christine at check-in was amazing - the friendliest front desk attendant I have ever met. There was also a gentleman at the desk a few of the nights who was very helpful, suggesting places to visit/routes etc. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast here was very good and the attendants keep it well stocked and clean. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The only downside is the very high prices they charge, but being in a popular tourist area they can get away with it. The hotel was completely booked each of the five nights we stayed in September.

"Convenient to West Yellowstone Gate"
Romines612, 21 Octobre 2019

This is an older hotel. It was clean, reasonable, and bedding comfortable. Breakfast was average. It is handy to the back gate of Yellowstone. The parking lot is dirt and messy when wet. It is easy to find and in the middle of town. Several restaurants and good souvenir shops in walking distance. Check out the Yellowstone movie and the.Imax close by.

"Hotel closet to the national park."
Passenger795400, 21 Octobre 2019

Quite expensive but closet to the national park.. Clean and big rooms. Breakfast is plentiful. There is an indoor pool. Very sarisfied that I chose this hotel ro treat my 87 year old mom. She can move around with her walker in the big room.

"Just okay"
Travel806028, 15 Octobre 2019

After a fast and friendly check-in, we went to our large, well lit room with comfortable but older furniture. We had a large mini-fridge with freezer and a microwave. The bed was comfortable but sloped to one side. When the heater came on in the night it woke me up. The sink area was separate from the toilet/shower room, and there was little counter space. The shower head was good. We had a decent breakfast, but the only eggs were processed omelets. The eating area was crowded.

"Convenient Location"
ketadog, 09 Octobre 2019

Stayed here one night on our way to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Walking distance to eateries and a great breakfast in the morning. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great place to stop on way from Bozeman Airport to Yellowstone.

"Convenient location for a Yellowstone adventure!"
DayTrip539682, 09 Octobre 2019

It's conveniently located near the west entrance to the park! The facility, while older, is very clean. Bed was comfortable, and the laundry room was also clean! The staff is friendly, accommodating, and they even found a jacket I misplaced! Skip the breakfast though. The eggs and potatoes were truly salty. You're better off buying yogurt from the nearby market and storing them in the fridge. Otherwise, it's a good place to stay!

"Good stay for Yellowstone"
shelbyvanweelden2019, 07 Octobre 2019

Staff and breakfast were great. The property was clean and everything appeared to work well. Close to many things, able to walk to dinner. Bed was comfy. The property was good and clean, but nothing spectacular. We chose this property because it was one of the hotels for the lowest prices but still having good reviews. It was still a little pricey for what it was, but comparatively it was okay.

"Location!!!"
hurricanemama, 05 Octobre 2019

We stayed here 5 nights while visiting Yellowstone. Definitely overpriced but you're paying for location, 5 minutes from West Entrance to park. Our room was clean, comfy and breakfast was very good with lots of choices. The breakfast attendants were very nice and kept fresh, hot food replenished and tables clean. Some of the tables were actually in a hallway next to pool area which was a little strange but we could always find a table and the hotel was sold out our entire stay. Would recommend, just be prepared to open your wallet!!

"Good stay but Over Priced"
oomswj, 30 Septembre 2019

This is the most expensive room on our tour. We could stay in downtown Chicago on the Lakefront for this price. The room was spacious, the vanity was separate from the toilet/tub area and the beds were hard. The breakfast was very good, providing a wide variety of foods such as eggs, waffles, fruit, breads, yogurt, juices, coffees, teas, etc. The staff was helpful and the pool had was well stocked with towels.

"Did the Job, but Definitely Overpriced"
KayJW3, 27 Septembre 2019

Our room for four was huge but the bathroom was tiny; very questionable use of space. The power went out multiple times and the tv constantly disconnected. Front desk staff was friendly, breakfast staff was okay. Breakfast options were plenty but quality wasn't great. Cost more than a much nicer hotel down the street.

"it is a nice hotel"
troubled1, 20 Septembre 2019

I stopped here for the night due to storms all around the area, and didn't want to cross a mountain pass on a motorcycle with angry looking clouds. i went to the Best Western knowing it was expensive, but al the others are also.. I was greeted at the front desk, given a nice king bed room, that was plenty big.. was able to see my motorcycle from the room.. call it weird, but when traveling on two wheels one likes to keep an eye on their bike. the wifi was goood, breakfast was just alright... all in all it was a good place to wait out the rain

"Great location"
Ja B, 20 Septembre 2019

The rooms are comfortable and clean. Showers have great pressure with a showerhead that is high enough for a taller person. There is a bit of everything for breakfast. The best part is that it is a simple and comfortable walk through the town. Tge drive into the park takes no time at all.

"Renovations nightmare"
christyceu, 18 Septembre 2019

I asked for a quiet room when we checked in to this hotel. Two mornings later, before 8 AM, we were woken by heavy machinery and a table saw right outside our window. The noise penetrated our ear plugs. The staff should have notified us at check in about the renovations and when I asked for a quiet room, they could have offered us a room on the side opposite the renovations. Very poor customer service experience in an otherwise decent hotel.

"Desert Inn"
denalt2018, 15 Septembre 2019

Excellent location for visiting West Yellowstone. Easy access to the national park, and walking distance to restaurants, shops, and fun. The breakfast variety has something for everyone. I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

"Another Good BW"
Bruce P, 15 Septembre 2019

We enjoyed our stay at the BW Desert Inn in West Yellowstone. It was conveniently located to restaurants and attractions. We were on a motorcycle trip and were disappointed with the inflexibility of management and their cancellation policy when inclement weather in the area required us to reroute our trip. We did go as far as W Yellowstone as a result of this inflexibility and the hotel was good but is priced to high, although all hotels in W Yellowstone appear to be. We would consider staying here again but will not pre-book.

"Convenient location!"
Ruth S, 12 Septembre 2019

We spent two nights here during our visit to Yellowstone. Overall, we were pleased. It is pricey but most likely comparable to what's in the area. Rooms were tidy and clean. My only complaint is the smell of cleaning products from when you first enter to your room as well. The breakfast buffet was very crowded on our first morning due to a tour bus leaving. Looked like a good selection of items but our breakfast needs are minimal. The front desk staff were always attentive and welcoming.

"Good Breakfast and Location"
CanuckTraveller18, 02 Septembre 2019

The location was very central for a short walk for meals, etc. There was only one elevator so we typically took the stairs. The staff were very friendly and given the hotel was full it never seemed too busy.

"We will stay here again!"
Dawn C, 30 Août 2019

We were so impressed by this hotel! The staff was extremely friendly, the rooms were spotless and comfy. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a large variety of foods. We can't say enough good things about our stay here!

"Yellowstone"
ajdysd, 26 Août 2019

Excellent hotel, little pricey, but expected for this location and time of the year. Would recommend if the cost is not an issue. Very convenient location, walking distance to stores and restaurants. Very close to the Yellowstone National Park entrance.

"Location!"
Chabrro, 25 Août 2019

Excellent location five minutes from Yellowstone gate. Breakfast was very good and the breakfast room was large, nicely decorated and well stocked with freshly cooked eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes. Very friendly and helpful staff, rooms were spacious, clean and very good beds. Lots of un being right in the center of town. Can walk to Grizzly and Discovery Center-a n animal museum not to be missed - with live bears, wolf and wonderful displays. The town was very enjoyable- walked to restaurants for dinner.

"Fabulous location and caring staff"
KBar2013, 16 Août 2019

From check inn with Karen, this was a terrific choice. It's close to everything and clean. It's nothing fancy but we will come back here! The food service staff were so kind an accommodating. They made sure I got a hearty breakfast despite food allergies. Thank you for a job well done!

"Be sure to reserve a pet-friendly room or pay additional $300 per night"
Daniel E, 04 Août 2019

They should fix the website so guestsI can reserve a pet-friendly room without any ambiguity. I believe they purposely make it impossible to reserve a pet-friendly room so that they can charge $300 per night. Also, because the reservation portal is flwawed, the staff needs to ask all of their guests if they have dogs during check-in. In fact, this selection should be obvious from the web portal when we reserve a room, and it is not. They caused us a lot of grief, anxiety, and anger because they put us in a room that is not pet friendly - and then they blamed it on us and threatened us with a $300 fee per night - and the hotel is already outrageously expensive. This is completely unfair to the customer and to the staff. When I pointed this out they didn't even offer to fix the problem with their reservation website, and they didn't apologize for the inconvenience and trouble they caused us. They like the website set up like that so they can take advantage of travelers.

"Nice place"
184bmanincali, 31 Juillet 2019

We had a very nice stay here. Hotel is a little older, but they've remodeled the inside and kept it up very well. Room was spacious. Beds were comfortable. Free breakfast is very good. Location is perfect for visiting Yellowstone. Hotel is a bit pricey for its value, but we did go in the height of tourist season.

"Stayed here 2 nights."
missedme, 30 Juillet 2019

Room was large, wifi was good, and beds were acceptable. We chose here because it was pet friendly. They do not allow you to keep your pet in your room alone. This was a bit inconvenient. While we stayed there, we were able to keep our dog with us while we visited the sites, however, just outside our room there was a vehicle that had their dogs in it part of the day. The windows were down and they were parked in the shade and they had water in there but still, a room that would allow pets to stay in it would have been better. Also, there is almost no sound proofing in the room. We could here the traffic outside, people walking in the hallways, the TV in the room next door, and every footstep in the room above us. I loved visiting West Yellowstone, but for $300 a night, I think I will try to spend my money elsewhere if I ever visit here again.

"Great Time"
Discover45826630604, 30 Juillet 2019

Their location is close to the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park and surrounded by local restaurants and local grocery store. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. If I come back that way I would stay there again.

"Second best Best Western we've stayed at!"
mauisunset2000, 25 Juillet 2019

Excellent stay! We stayed seven nights with points. The west entrance to Yellowstone is right there! Parking is tight and if you have to park off pavement, it's full of holes and bumpy. No automatic front doors. Front staff is very friendly and helpful. We asked about sunsets, asked for paper plates, and sewing set, they were more than happy to help us out. Check in was quick. Rooms are spacious and clean. Really like that the sink area is separate from toilet/shower. Liked we could open our window a ways for fresh air. Breakfast area is large and had a good selection of items. Staff was wiping tables and keeping food stocked. The only thing is breakfast closes at nine, which I get that people want to be in the park early, but we always felt a little rushed. Used the laundry room which was clean. $2.50 for a wash, $1.75 to dry. From Desert Inn we could walk to eateries and shops. Very conveniently located. I would absolutely stay here again! BTW, the BEST Best Western we've ever stayed at was in Canmore, Canada BW Pocaterra Inn.

"Great location, and very helpful staff!"
Nishad A, 25 Juillet 2019

My family stayed here for a few days while we were making our way through Yellow Stone. The property is conveniently located at the West Gate and surrounded by great eateries and pubs. The room was exactly what we expected - very comfortable. Special shout out to Nick and the front desk team who helped sort out an issue I had with the 3rd party company I used to book the hotel. Really went out of their way to help us. Highly recommend!

"Not pet friendly"
caryho59, 24 Juillet 2019

Claims they're pet friendly, but are anything but pet friendly. You can't leave your pet in your room, period. You get sprang that little tidbit when you arrive. Also if your dog barks they'll have a fit. The paper thin walls allows hallway sounds to trigger dogs. Even though they want us to leave, well not leave just not to have our dogs here, they don't want to refund the next night if we leave early. They also have a line in the pet policy about any pet hair on beds is a big no no. Yes they may accept pets, but they will make having one there a nightmare. They also claim these rules are standard at all pet friendly hotels. Talk about liars, I've never seen crap like this. You guys need to drop Best from your name, you are not.

"Worst Western"
Diana M, 23 Juillet 2019

Forget this brand. They haven't updated themselves, evidently, ever! The location of our room was for some reason very noisy unless the walls were paper thin. You know when you walk into a place and feel like you're home and it's a good feeling? This venue just doesn't have that. There is nothing noteworthy.

"Another good Best Western"
mtu_huskies, 22 Juillet 2019

We typically have good Best Western experiences and this one did not disappoint. We stayed here one night mid-Yellowstone trip as we worked our way south to north. Front desk staff were very friendly. The room was clean and roomy. The whole hotel was very clean. We used the pool which was warm enough and our kids enjoyed it. The breakfast in the morning was busy, but we got a table for four and there were plenty of options available. The downtown location was a plus to allow for walking to stores, or like we did, dinner.

"Solid BW experience"
N O, 15 Juillet 2019

Due to previous visits chose this over other BW property. Great spacious room, friendly front desk. The included hot breakfast was pretty good. All you could want as a base for exploring Yellowstone. The attached Slippery Otter pub was great.

"Best hotel experience in our Yellowstone trip"
debasiskar, 13 Juillet 2019

We were there in Yellowstone for 3 nights. For 3 nights we stayed in different places, Gardiner, West Yellowstone, and Jackson. This was our planned decision as we want to experience the culture of all the different cities near Yellowstone. In all the hotels we stayed this was the best of the lot. Even we loved the West Yellowstone city a lot, a small city with full of life. The hotel was very clean, the pool water was well maintained. The front desk folks were very friendly and helpful. We booked a family 2 Queen bed suite. It was a really good home experience. Only 1 bad side was that the sofa-cum-bed was not at all good. But the best part of the hotel was the Breakfast and the people serving that. The breakfast had all different kind of options. One of the serving people helped us to make our pancake to Chocolate creme pancake, we loved it. And above all the friendliness of the hotel folks were excellent. We would love to stay there for long. experience.

"Still a Good Location"
Dream810751, 05 Juillet 2019

We have stayed here before a couple of years ago, and it is still a lovely hotel, set back from the main road, but close to the West entrance to Yellowstone Park. The staff are friendly and the rooms are comfortable and spacious, with complimentary toiletries and plenty of clean towels. Would recommend asking for a high floor room as you could hear guests walking around upstairs. There were a good choice of restaurants and bars within the vicinity. Would stay here again if next visiting the area.

"Great location, value and breakfast."
Ed M, 03 Juillet 2019

We found this hotel to be ideally located in West Yellowstone. Rooms were comfortable after long days of touring and the full hot breakfasts gave us a great head start in the mornings. Good coffee all day long. Super staff.

"Great location, nice rooms"
RolandS1699, 01 Juillet 2019

We stayed here for two of our total of four nights at Yellowstone National Park. The location is perfect, our room was large, clean, comfortable beds. The rates here are definitely high, but in line with comparable hotels in the area, and certainly much lower than inside the National Park (if available at all). Overall we were very happy with our stay here.

"This Place is a Zoo"
gellibelly, 29 Juin 2019

Pretty standard accommodation for this hotel class. Nothing fancy but rooms are large and clean and bed is comfortable. The problem is it's a very popular place to stay and it is an absolute zoo in the morning. A ton of people for breakfast so at peak hours you will find that they run out of food as well as tables and chairs to sit. The breakfast spread is expansive but quality mediocre.

"Good choice for West Yellowstone"
rpandjm, 27 Juin 2019

This hotel was not really memorable, but that's as good as it is bad. It was very typical for what you would expect a Best Western to be. It was well maintained, and clean. I had heard that the parking could be an issue, but even later in the evening in late June it had a couple open spots in the paved lot. The hot tub was pretty tiny. It was very expensive for the typical Best Western, but as has been pointed out, that is what the area brings in for this season, so I don't fault them any for that.

"Good choice"
Jodi H, 25 Juin 2019

We have been to West Yellowstone twice. Although we enjoyed the previous hotel we stayed in we decided to stay here at the Best Western this time. It saved us some money to stay at this location. It was well worth the choice. The location made it easy to walk to dinner and shopping. The hotel itself was clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was amazing. You couldn't have asked for a better selection of breakfast foods.

"Average"
46brandik, 23 Juin 2019

This was what I expected in a high volume tourist area, totally average, super over-priced, but adequate. Stand out was the breakfast area and the gentleman running it. This is convenient, immediately outside the west exit of Yellowstone, surrounded by gift shops and restaurants, there was a grocery store about 2 blocks away.

"Perfect for Exploring Yellowstone"
karu99, 22 Juin 2019

The Best Western Desert Inn is located 3 short blocks from the West entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The hotel is updated, comfortable and super clean. The have a daily breakfast which has lots of choices and nicely prepared foods, impressive for a hotel breakfast. Free parking, nice hot tub to end the day and easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and stores. Beds were very comfortable, our room was large, quiet with speedy wifi. Would definitely stay here again

"Great location but expensive"
Tony Y, 21 Juin 2019

This hotel is very expensive as a best western. But I can't complain too much because it's only 2 minutes drive to the entrance of the yellowstone national park. Breakfast is surprisingly good. Next time, plan your visit early. Book a hotel in the national park. Even better location but similar price.

"Best in Town"
Aggowl, 18 Juin 2019

West Yellowstone, MT has a population of less than 2,000 people so there are not a lot of hotel choices. It is a small town that does an excellent job of catering to the Yellowstone tourists. We were told this was one of the best in town and from what we saw, it was. The room was a typical average size hotel room but needed some updating especially in the bath. They served a nice simple breakfast in the morning and the employees were all very friendly and helpful. We were there the week they had so much snow they closed the schools for the first time in 35 years. There was little to no held removing snow from the parking lot so you could get your vehicle out in the morning. For a snowmobile excursion into Yellowstone Park from West Yellowstone it is likely your best option.

"Great place for families and amazing location!"
TrailBlazer683237, 18 Juin 2019

Hotel had it all and was right in the center of town. Hotel was clean, wifi worked great, breakfast was excellent. And right out your doors was the center of town with shops and restaurants. And the West entrance to Yellowstone is just a 5-minute drive away. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler going to Yellowstone.

"Very impressed!"
travelgal143, 10 Juin 2019

My mother and I stayed here three nights while visiting yellowstone. The room was huge, clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was welcoming and friendly every time we interacted with them. Complimentary breakfast had a huge variety that changed each day. Pool was not freezing and had a nearby hot tub. We looked around and decided we had certainly made the right choice in this hotel!

"road trip"
paragirl77, 04 Juin 2019

The Best western at the West entrance to Yellowstone Park was the best location for us. It was close to the entrance and had a great town to walk around in. At the end of our day at the park it was nice to not have to travel far to get back to the hotel to relax.

"Felt like home!"
Richard C, 31 Mai 2019

From check in to check out, everything was outstanding. We have stayed here in the past. Cindy, Christine and Karen were who we had the most contact with, giving us great ideas for seeing the wildlife, restaurants etc. but everyone was friendly, professional and intent on making our stay wonderful. Breakfast was beyond great each morning with so many choices with both hot and cold items. Must mention the wonderful cinnamon bread. Yum. We will definitely be staying again and refer to our friends. Thank you again for such a great stay

"The BEST Best Western ever! Great location!"
MrsSparky, 19 Mai 2019

Best Western is our favorite hotel chain and Dessert Inn in West Yellowstone, MT surpasses all others. The front desk staff were top notch (helpful and friendly). Our rooms, pool, spa and breakfast area were immaculate. The breakfast choices rotated daily and there were more variety than other locations. The cook and helpers were friendly and always busy. It is less than 5 minutes to the West YSNP gate. Located within easy walking to shopping, restaurants and groceries. Washer & Dryer on each floor, convenient. We experienced car trouble and the front desk referred us to Jake's Garage, he was honest, helpful and had us fixed up with 3 hours. We will recommend this hotel to family & friends! Question: why is a hotel in the mountains called Dessert Inn?

"Nice"
134shaneo, 12 Mai 2019

Good place to stay that actually has decent parking for a few larger vehicles and just like anywhere else in town the parking fills up pretty fast during the summer..has pet friendly rooms but call ahead to make sure you can get one..gas station right across the road and a number of places to eat close by

"Yellowstone"
Kathy J, 03 Mai 2019

Great hotel very convenient to west entrance of YNP. Watched deer on the hill behind our room. Staff was so friendly and greeted us by name after we checked in. Breakfast was hearty with lots of choices so we could have variety for our multiple day stay.

"Efficient, friendly service and nice, quiet room"
tornillo2015, 29 Avril 2019

This is the 10th hotel in W. Yellowstone that I've stayed in during years of visiting the NP and is the best value of them all. All accomodations in or near the entrances have increased so much to stay in a hotel is not affordable for most families. I avoid the higher season rates by going in either the early spring or late fall when rates are much lower. This hotel offered mostly good reviews and well priced in early spring. I interacted with 9 different employees and all were friendly and helpful. I asked for a 3rd floor, quiet location on my reservation and they assigned me exactly what I hoped for. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious, and everything worked as intended. The mattress I slept on was not that comfortable and broken down on the edges. The breakfast had variety and some tasty items including good fruit but also had a lot of carbs that you usually find in a breakfast of this sort. Parking was nearby and adequate. NP is about 1 min away and can walk to anything in this small town. I plan to return to this hotel next year.

"Yellowstone"
Safari66701137969, 17 Avril 2019

A great stay for an affordable rate and were upgraded to a king suite. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good. The lobbay needs to be spruced up. Looks old and dirty. The staff were hardworking and accommodating.

"large room 3rd floor"
wash400, 13 Avril 2019

Sent here by BWMissoula..got a good rate....obviously..we did not do our homework after talking to the girl in Missoula..as she gave wrong info..so we have to backtrack 3-1/2 to 4 hrs to get into the Yellowstone NP.west yellowstone town is western style..streets are wide..NO ONE HERE..its still closed till april 19th..so we are taking a me day..then off tomorrow to gardiner which is the only gate open..staff here were helpful..breakfast area small..quiet room large..for the rate..

"Excellent stay"
travelinman045, 10 Mars 2019

Excellent hotel in great location. Staff was very friendly. Rooms and hotel clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with everything to choose from. Rate was very affordable. Will be back for sure.

"rude and they don't need you"
sandra r, 02 Mars 2019

I stood at the front desk waiting for the lady there to look up from her phone call with what was clearly another employee who had lost something. I stood for minutes. When she finally could be bothered with me, I told her that I knew I had a booking at a Best Western in West Yellowstone, but that I wasn't sure if it was this one or the one up the street. At this point the manager who had seen me standing there for minutes laughed with the desk employee and mocked me because the other BW is closed all winter so they "hoped" dripping with sarcasm that I had a booking at their place. I'll never book this hotel again and we're pretty regular visitors to West Yellowstone. Additionally it is a very poorly constructed hotel and terribly loud.

"Okay property, but management is terrible"
codyg381, 26 Février 2019

Location is good, but that's about it. If you're lucky to not have an issue that needs management attention, then you might consider staying here. However if you need anything to be handled professionally and promptly, then please expect a very painful experience. I'd strongly encourage you to look elsewhere.

"Terrible"
James P, 25 Février 2019

We had to unexpectedly find a room for my 18 year old daughter who was caught in a winter storm and road closure. She was very scared. She ordered delivery pizza on night one. After waiting 90 minutes she called to check her status. She was told that they attempted delivery but it was refused at the front desk. No notification, just a refusal. The Hotel has a policy that prevents delivery of food. She had to walk several blocks at night through a storm to a bar to get her food and then back again on night two. Clean and secure but not interested in personal welfare

"Decent Best Western; would stay here again"
J9015CKkellyp, 25 Février 2019

Stayed in 2 connecting rooms on 3rd floor. Rooms were adequate and clean. Breakfast and toiletries are on the cheap side, but to be expected at this price point. Nice pool and hot tub, great location, free parking. Only complaint is could hear people walking in room above us, so next time we'd hopefully get a top floor room. Other than that, very pleased, and would definitely stay here again. Solid, typical BW.

"Perfect Location"
Scott S, 18 Février 2019

We booked a snowmobile trip through Yellowstone and decided to stay at this hotel. Location was excellent, room was neat and clean, beds were very comfortable, staff was very friendly and offered excellent advise on where to eat. Weather was a little concerning, weather channel forecast snow to begin around 8am, instead by 7am there was already a foot of snow. After our trip to Yellowstone, we learned that the roads were closed and we could not get back to where we were staying in Jackson, Wy. Thankfully we were able to book a second night at this BW. My point is, be prepared for some serious weather if visiting this area this time of year. Breakfast was very good. Hot tub was also very good. Maintenance staff was very helpful with giving us directions and best route to take with current Idaho road closures

"Part of our Yellowstone snowmobiling package"
travism776, 05 Février 2019

We booked a package to go snowmobiling in Yellowstone and this was part of our package. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful it was a great experience. The breakfast was excellent food was great had a very good selection. A couple of gentlemen were around to help and keep it up very friendly. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. One other thing that really impressed me was how clean everything was. I highly recommend this Best Western.

Rude staff, not honest about charges and rates and when you try to bring it to attention it takes over a month to have any higher up call you back. The rooms are OK and breakfast was fine. Other than that nothing special, stay somewhere else and save yourself the trouble. Dealing with the rude management and staff ruined my vacation.

"Variable room pricing without notification"
xcskifam, 27 Novembre 2018

Nice hotel, clean, generally helpful staff. Upon checkout we were informed of increased "holiday" rates over Thanksgiving weekend. The hotel was not full. Others in our group staying for the same duration did not experience variable rates - their charges were constant over the same period ours went up. Hotel management was unresponsive when this was brought to their attention. Ethics of variable rates for some rooms or customers but not others without prior notice is an unfair practice and largely offsets other aspects of the hotel.

"Good Staff, Nice Clean Rooms and decent breakfast"
nlg2018, 17 Novembre 2018

Great location, helpful staff, lots of parking and large guest rooms make this hotel a delight. Some issues with internet and TV but got things worked out. Easy check in/out. Breakfast could have more variety day to day, but lots to choose from. Coffee good!

"Great location for Yellowstone"
Hope S, 29 Octobre 2018

Great location to get into Yellowstone, staff was extremely friendly. Room very clean and spacious, we had a room with a pullout bed. Breakfast was always ready by 5:45 and plenty of items to choose. Indoor pool with a hot tub (well needed after hiking)

"Best I can say is the laundry was reasonable and the pool and hot tub were nice"
sewhappy1221, 20 Octobre 2018

Very average hotel, made ridiculously pricy be being close to Yellowstone Park. The room was adequate, it was nice to have several side chairs for sitting and visiting. "Free" breakfast was kind of a joke - selection of 4 items on the menu in attached restaurant, beverage NOT included. Laundry was very reasonable, but the room had not seen a mop or a broom for a long time. Pool was warm, and hot tubs nice. This room would have been about 1/2 the price anywhere else. Cleanliness rating reflects clean-enough room & dirty laundry room.

"Nice stay in the west yellow stone area"
sar77107, 20 Octobre 2018

The hotel front desk staff is friendly and provide different local info. They have indoor pool which is nice. The restaurant, gas station and souvenir shops are all on the corner with walking distance. The room is pretty new. The breakfast has a lot hot item includes noddle, miso soup, egg, bread which give nice energy.

"Good Breakfast, Lousy Parking"
JMVPDX, 14 Octobre 2018

One of the best hotel comp breakfasts that I've found, but the hotel's parking situation is atrocious. If you want to park on pavement, with any lighting at all, you'll have to be one of the first couple dozen guests to arrive. Otherwise, you'll have to park on an unlit, muddy parking lot.

"National Parks of the West"
nassjudy, 14 Octobre 2018

This hotel, located near the west entrance to Yellowstone NP, was one of the nicest in the area. Breakfasts were above average for complimentary hotel breakfasts. Staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful. The woman who checked me in called the room shortly after check-in to inquire if everything was satisfactory. End of season pricing was comparable or better than similar accommodations in the area (the best value I could find). I would definitely stay there again.

"An Old Friend"
YellowstoneBound1948, 07 Octobre 2018

I have stayed here many times over the last ten years. The Desert Inn is like an old friend. The staff is courteous, the breakfast is first class, and the rooms are comfortable. The location is perfect. Parking is easy. At the end of the summer, the motel shows a little wear and tear, but the owners are good about getting it ready for the next high season. Of course, like just about every other motel in West Yellowstone, it is too expensive, but that is a function of supply and demand. If you want to go in high season, expect to pay high prices. I'll give an example. I was there this last time during the 3rd week of September. I paid $225/night. Ouch! Just two weeks later, the price is down to $135/night. And it will keep going down until next spring. So, it's a question of when you can go and how much you want to pay.

"Family vacation"
Neises_Family, 05 Octobre 2018

Great location in West Yellowstone. Easy walk to dinner and shops. Easy access to west entrance to Yellowstone; less than 2 mins. Rooms were clean, breakfast was very good for free. Nice place to stay.

"Decent and clean"
Bill W, 02 Octobre 2018

This is a decent hotel with a good continental breakfast selection. It's clean, but would be overpriced in a non tourist location. They have an indoor pool and Jacuzzi. It is quite close to the west entrance to Yellowstone Park.

"Good location by the gate to the park."
Irma W, 30 Septembre 2018

Since in park hotels were out of our price range we opted for Best Western in town, close to the gate to Yellowstone Park. Price was ok, considering the locations. Breakfast, average, was included. The few blocks offered place to shop and eat. We were not too happy with the ground floor location, but it serviced as well. We spent our monies somewhere else for luxury. The hot top was soothing end of the hiking days. The hotel was neat enough for our purpose of just sleeping there.

"Great location, needs a bit of update"
MaungeTout, 30 Septembre 2018

In a great location on the edge of Yellowstone and in the heart of town so close to local eateries and stores. Receptionists really helpful and all staff give a warm welcome. Breakfast in small room, but good choice. Room and general feel is a little dated but remains comfortable Acutal stay - Sept 2016

"Great room, but breakfast....."
598chrise, 30 Septembre 2018

Probably the best of several Best Western Hotels we used on our Rockies tour, room was huge and very well appointed, big bathroom and passed the important shower pressure test! Breakfast wasn't great, and we totally abhor the Best Western approach to saving the planet with their paper plates and plastic cutlery, awful, get it sorted BW!

"Good location, large room, overpriced"
1944Carolyn, 27 Septembre 2018

We stayed for two nights September 2018. The room was huge, great for three people. The staff was friendly. I didn't like the layout of the room. The bathroom was tiny with just a tub (with shower) and a toilet. The sink and vanity were in the room across from the bathroom. Very inconvenient. The breakfast was "meh." The ambiance in the room and the lobby was "meh." I couldn't believe the high price we were charged for basically a middling hotel.I guess they charge such a high price due to the location in W. Yellowstone, only a few blocks from the Park. I'd previously stayed at a resort in the Grand Tetons that was only $50 more a night. Great amenities, beautiful property. That hotel was a good value, not this one.

"Capping off Yellowstone"
Quest176128, 26 Septembre 2018

Hotel was located close to 2 very good restaurants and other amenities that we used. Bed was comfortable. Staff knowledgeable about local amenities.Try out Cafe Madriz - great tapas and paellahowever only open during peak summer season.

"Great hotel, minutes from Yellowstone National Park."
Pg G, 24 Septembre 2018

Quaint hotel near the park in the town of West Yellowstone. Nice room, good breakfast items. Would like the hotel to have more handicapped parking spaces. When the hotel is full, it's hard to park with only 2 spots avai.

"always reliable hotel"
Robert R, 24 Septembre 2018

we can always trust best western hotels, they are clean, have free breakfast, no compliants. this one is just outside entrance to yellowstone national park. also right in downtown close to shops and restaurants

"Great, friendly service"
TreasuredTraditions, 23 Septembre 2018

This is the 2nd time we stayed at this hotel this year. They are always friendly and helpful with any request you might have. This time we had 2 queen beds, though we only needed one. One of the beds was not so comfortable (and probably needs a new mattress) but the other one was great. They have free breakfast that is really good. They also have plenty of parking for our 24' trailer that we were towing. This hotel is right on the main strip with lots of shopping and restaurants. Just a couple of blocks from the IMAX and Yellowstone park entrance.

"Close to everything"
AlKo33, 21 Septembre 2018

Everything in West Yellowstone is over priced during the season. This hotel is no different as in every hotel. But the location is excellent, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants and also very close to the entrance of the park. So it is very convenience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was more than enough to fill you up with some varieties. The room is also nice and clean, We stayed there for 2 days but didn't use the nice pool.

"Great Location right in downtown!"
JRAP2013, 20 Septembre 2018

The hotel is centered in the downtown area, close to shops, restaurants, and activities. It is an older remodeled hotel. The hotel is maintained well both inside and out. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, and the breakfast is one of the better quality breakfasts served in most chain hotels. Even though this hotel is right in town, it was quiet and our 2-day stay was very good.

"Great location, nice hotel"
lessismore76, 08 Septembre 2018

Very close to the west Yellowstone entrance, and a great breakfast early enough to get through the west entrance with no lines of cars. Clean room, superior bed and sheets, quiet. No hotel anticipates our needs for outlets - bring a power strip for all things that take pictures of our first and most beautiful National Park. Fast internet. Within easy walking distance of Bullwinkle's, a great restaurant, and a slightly longer walk to the national park visitor's center. Many shops and angler outfitters on same street.

"Adequate Hotel in Tourist Trap Town"
RSDCArch, 30 Août 2018

Overpriced hotel in a tourist trap town. Nothing particularly wrong w/ it other than the largely indifferent staff who are more interested in their phones than the guests (I honestly can't believe the management allows the staff to keep their phones w/ them). The prices during tourist season are shameful for this quality of a hotel. That said, I'm not sure there's anything better for the money, which is why my review isn't 2-stars.

"Adequate "
Ian T, 29 Août 2018

This is located on the outskirts of Yellowstone; one does not expect luxury in Old West towns. However, when the hotel takes full advantage by charging top dollar, some expectations are reasonable and we were quite disappointed , To start with we arrived as a. Group in a bus. When the baggage had not arrived after a long time, we discovered the the bellhop could not be found ( by the desk staff!) we were given WiFi passwords but to an unsecured system The design: the rooms were large, but designed with NO way to wash one's hands in the bathroom! For that you had to exit, and go to the sink across the entrance hallway. It shared space with the coffeemaker Beds were reasonable ; there was a fridge that was turned off: we only noticed because it seemed not to be working The breakfast served was well made; it was self-service, but well attended In summary, reasonable but if this is the “best” western, I shudder to think of the others!!!!

"Best and most helpful staff"
Kevin B, 23 Août 2018

We got in around 4:00pm and have never been here before the room is great coach and chair like a nice little suite. We checked-in and when we got into the room we had a call from the front desk making sure everything was great. what a great room very quiet and everything for a great stay. After looking down the street this is the hotel to stay at. He told us about the best food in west yellowstone. That's another review.

"Good base for Yellowstone visit."
Michael H, 23 Août 2018

Easy access to Yellowstone.Good restaurants, shopping within easy walking distance.Room big enough to spread out a little for extended stay.Good (hot) breakfast buffet.Friendly, helpful staff.Washer/Dryer.

"Good Option in West Yellowstone"
Ken M, 14 Août 2018

This was a comfortable home base for a 3 day trip to Yellowstone. For the hotel star rating and overall quality the price is steep during the summer, but for a town with very high demand and limited good hotel options, I'd say the price was fair considering the going rates in town. The double king room was large and the beds were huge. The amenities were good and my 10 year old son loved the pool area. The free hot breakfast was a good way to start the day and the food was what you'd expect at a hotel of this caliber. The rooms were clean and quiet, but a bit on the older side and showing a bit of wear. Would stay again.

"Decent hotel in a great location"
tnostrud, 14 Août 2018

This is just a typical decent hotel. Rooms were clean. There was an indoor pool although not very big. The staff was super friendly and helpful! It is located in a great spot for walking around to various shops and restaurants. Our only complaints were the price of the room definitely not a $300/night room. They just charge that because they can being so close to Yellowstone. Also, don't plan on using the WIFI. We tried and that didn't work.

"Lousy Internet and needs updating"
John-Cypress-Tx, 13 Août 2018

Room was OK and close proximity to the park and some nice restaurants in walking distance. The staff was excellent and very helpful The rooms could do with some updating as the carpet is a bit old. Being an older hotel it is missing a lot of outlets to make connecting devices easy. Also a pet peeve of mine is the sink in the main area and only the toilet and shower in a separate room. I think is makes it awkward for going to bed a different times or getting up for water in the night without disturbing anyone else in the room. The big issue here is the internet following all the provided instructions it was impossible to get my Iphone to connect (did get the Ipad to connect) as it was to get my Windows 10 computer to connect. Finally after several attempts I finally gave up and used cellular data on my phone.

"Good choice for a 3-day visit of Yellowstone National Park"
Francois C, 12 Août 2018

We had a great stay in this hotel which is located in the center of West Yellowstone. Rooms are reasonably big and well equipped. Great staff, good breakfast even if the place can get busy at peak hour. Juices, tea and coffee are available all the time. Good TV programs too, with more channels like CNN that is not so often available. 2 laundry rooms with vending machines for powder.

"Great Location"
xubo1970, 08 Août 2018

This hotel is located close to the West Yellowstone entrance to Yellowstone NP which makes it convenient for getting up early in the morning to beat the crowds. The room itself was generally clean and the breakfast was good with lots of choices including scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, spaghetti, mixed vegetables, miso soup, cereal, and waffles.

"Best hotel that West Yellowstone has to offer and great access to park!!!"
petc11 ., 08 Août 2018

The Best Western Desert Inn is a comfortable hotel with indoor pool and hot tub! We really liked the fact that it was so convenient to everything in town! We parked the car and just walked everywhere in town, with lots of souvenir shops and many good restaurants. Hotel has wifi and cell phone signal was great! Also liked the fact that hotel has cable TV! Hotel and town are located right at the West entrance to Yellowstone, so it was very convenient to tour the park and come back home every night! Last year we stayed in the park, no cell phone signal, no wifi, no TV. Sorry, but I guess we have become accustomed to those modern conveniences. We enjoyed staying in the park, but now we have done that and will probably stay in West Yellowstone from now on! It was an easy drive to tour different parks of the park each day using West Yellowstone as our base of operations! Usually there is a lot of traffic coming back to town in the late afternoon as people are making their way back to town! Hotel breakfast is adequate, typical hotel quick breakfast! Seating was a little difficult each morning, so maybe you can send out someone early to grab a table for the family! All in all, we will stay at the Best Western Desert Inn again next time we visit the park. West Yellowstone is much closer to the park than Jackson Hole! Jackson Hole is a good 2 hours just getting to the entrance to the park, a truly exhausting day just getting to and from the park!

"Yellowstone"
Roger C, 08 Août 2018

This is a nice hotel with a great location. It is easy to find and close to the West entrance of the park. We didn't try the breakfast because we checked out early but the room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The only problem with the stay was the staff at checkout wasn't trained properly and couldn't give us a discount we had for a Best Western stay. We used it the next night but they should train their staff better. It is expensive but everywhere in West Yellowstone is expensive as well. Very nice room.

"Good base for visiting Yellowstone"
LichfieldBoy, 07 Août 2018

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Yellowstone NP. It was a perfect base because all of the main thermal areas (Mammoth, Norris, Canyon, Old Faithful) are within a couple of hours drive. It is also in a quiet location near the centre of town so it's close to several local restaurants and stores. We had a big clean bedroom with everything you would expect including a very comfortable bed. The only disappointment was breakfast which was served in a small room with little space to move around and insufficient tables. Considering the price we were paying ($990 for 3 nights) we also expected more choice for breakfast (e.g. fresh fruit). That said we would definitely stop here again on another trip to Yellowstone.

"Great location with large rooms for a family of 5"
Rick T, 06 Août 2018

We stayed at the Best Western Desert Inn for one night during our Yellowstone trip and were very surprised at this hotel. The room was clean, updated, and very large to accommodate the 2 double beds and a cot for a family of five with plenty of room to spare. Breakfast was provided in the morning which was a bit challenging to find space to eat as many of the guests seemed to be trying to get out at the same time to enjoy the park, Indoor pool was a nice bonus for our kids to use in the evening following a long day at the park. Location was great for a short walk to a number of restaurant options and stores...Would definitely stay here again if passing through.

"A great option if going to Yellowstone "
Larraine79, 31 Juillet 2018

Although we loved visiting this beautiful national park, we were definitely not a fan of West Yellowstone. Very very crowded (yes, it was July), totally commercialized tourist-trap shops, and restaurants that were uninspired and over priced. FYI, our best meal was recommended by a trail guide and was about 40 minutes North of town toward Big Sky. Highly recommend 320 Ranch Steakhouse! Totally worth the drive if you want a nice meal. But back to the Best Western Desert Inn hotel... If you are going to visit Yellowstone, and plan on staying nearby on the West side, this is a very decent choice. We usually stay in Marriotts, Hilton's, or upper scale resorts, but didn't find a lot of options in this part of the country. We chose this hotel based on reviews and were very pleasantly surprised. We didn't realize it at first, but we were upgraded to a nice corner king room that was quite roomy and comfortable. Pros: The room was very clean, which is always extremely important to me. The bed was comfy and I always like it when the sink area is outside of the bathroom. The fridge and microwave also came in handy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the location was very convenient to the park and Main Street. Cons: We were on the second floor and whoever was above us on the third floor was very very noisy. Very thin floors/ceilings or just a very heavy stepper. We could hear every footstep, which was definitely annoying, as well as luggage carts rolling around. Pro/Con: Free breakfast, but small crowded eating area and the typical mediocre food that we find in a lot of Best Westerns. Still a convenient and cost efficient option, especially for those with kids (which we did not have with us). We avoided it for the most part. All in all, we were happy with our hotel choice. We were just not very impressed with the town.

"DON'T BOTHER"
pinkypanther, 31 Juillet 2018

Terrible Hotel. I totally agree with the other comments about Yellowstone been a Tourist Trap, try & avoid this area. We were road tripping around America & this was our most expensive Hotel. Even more expensive than cabins inside Yellowstone & The Venetian in Las Vegas!!!! We arrived late & as our children were going to bed we noticed the toilet was blocked. We told Reception & was told a man would come to the room, what I did not expect was for him to knock on the door & pass me the Plunger! No I didn't take it, I showed him to the bathroom & all though he sorted it he did not clean up after. The Breakfast room is a joke, no where near enough tables & most are only for 2 people, had to wait for tables & couldn't sit together. Breakfast only served til 9am. Only hot vegetarian option was eggs, which had ran out. You can hear everything from the other rooms & floors above. Staff in Reception couldn't tell me what the different taxes applied to the bill was for & no one new how to use the new system. Would never stay here agin.

"Busy summer Yellowstone season "
Michael G, 28 Juillet 2018

Have been traveling around Montana for a family reunion and stayed at several hotels over the past week. This was the best by far. Actual queen sized beds that were very comfortable. Clean room, helpful staff. God's selection of breakfast choices. I don't understand people who complain about the prices or busy breakfast room at the height of tourist season. It's called economics.

"Sleepless nights"
Outdoorsbuff, 27 Juillet 2018

My wife booked this for our trip. During the summer the rates are $300 a night. Therefore I expected something much nicer. Instead, it is a typical Best Western. The room was average. Breakfast was included which was nice. The problem is that there is no insulation between rooms. I kept getting awakened by people walking in the halls or dropping things on the floor above. Bring ear plugs if you decide to stay.

"nice hotel and centrally located"
gator0178, 23 Juillet 2018

I had a nice 2 day stay here in July while visiting Yellowstone. The hotel was overpriced for what it is, but it is their peak season so i get it. Rooms were clean and sizeable. Front office staff seemed annoyed with people but otherwise ok. Breakfast was typical hotel free food. The hotel is walking distance to everything in West Yellowstone and very close to the park entrance. I would recommend this hotel, just go in the off- season if the prices are too steep for you.

"Clean and comfortable"
Chris012, 23 Juillet 2018

Our double queen room was very large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was always fresh and hot. This hotel was within easy walking distance to a grocery store, restaurants and shops, and very close to the Yellowstone entrance. I would stay here again when visiting Yellowstone.

"Inept staff"
81artmonk, 22 Juillet 2018

Hotel was ok but overpriced. Nice room and grounds. However my issue is with the front desk staff. Packed up and went to check out. I handed the lady my two key cards and my credit card and told her I was checking out and paying my bill. She took them and then looked at the screen and printed out my receipt. I told her how could you have paid, you never swiped my credit card? She told me that she used the card on file. I asked why she would do that when I handed her a credit card to pay? She thought it was the card on file. I asked why she didn't check the card against the card on file to see if it was different. She told me that people hand her the same card on file when they check out all the time. I said I don't work here but even I know you need to check to verify. I told her that I neede her to void the transaction on the card she just charged and bill the one I just handed her. She wasn't trained to do any of that. I said I need to leave and this needs to be corrected before I leave. She informed me she couldn't do it and I had to wait for someone to arrive to take care of it. So this property employs someone who cannot do the job and puts them behind the front desk? Really? After about 5 min the manager showed up and was able to take care of it. Howler I found it rather concerning they employ this woman to handle business for them who cannot handle business for them.

"Overpriced"
Alie2266, 20 Juillet 2018

The hotel itself is just fine, and if it was $150 a night, I would have given it 5 stars for the value, EXCEPT it wasn't $150 a night, it was $350 a night, which is outrageous. I could stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel for that price. But, West Yellowstone is a huge tourist trap and you have to pay 5 star prices for 3 star places. Overall, I would stay here again, and I would recommend this hotel as a good family hotel. Breakfast was free and had a make your own waffle station, omelets, bagels and pastries, a yogurt parfait station, muffins, oatmeal, cereal (though the cereal was the gross off-brand kind), sausages and a few things that rotated for different days. I normally stay at Holiday Inn Expresses and this hotel's breakfast was better. The breakfast area was very crowded and hard to find a seat. The rooms were quite large for hotel rooms. We had 2 king beds, which was really great because most hotels just do 2 queens, and even with 2 kings, we had plenty of room to walk around and even fit an air mattress on the floor and still had room to walk around. Room had a microwave and fridge and a sink separate from the toilet and tub. House keeping did a nice job cleaning each day. There was an indoor pool, but no gym.

"Vacation"
U9738OLjamesj, 19 Juillet 2018

Breakfast was crazy crowded with rude bus travelers all 3 mornings. $300 per night is too much for me. Won't happen again. We were late on the first night and could find no parking. Stayed awake all night worried about being towed.

"Nice hotel near Yellowstone National Park"
twobacks, 18 Juillet 2018

I stayed at this hotel while visiting Yellowstone National Park. It is conveniently located in West Yellowstone, Montana about 1/2 mile from the entrance to the park. I had a good night's sleep every night I stayed there. The free breakfast every morning was also good. The hotel is within walking distance of shops and restaurants in West Yellowstone.

"Busy season"
TrisGate, 18 Juillet 2018

The staff attempted to do the best as possible but in the busy season there is clearly not enough space for them to have all guests at breakfast. As it is high season, the rooms are very expensive. Room was nice but certainly not worth the cost ($300+). Location is great to go in and out of Yellowstone which remains their best quality.

"For the price?"
jtfinley, 18 Juillet 2018

I'm sorry but I can't give high remarks to any hotel that overcharges for mediocre accommodations. I understand it's Yellowstone and they “need” to jack the prices up, so I “need” to write an honest review. We paid the same amount to stay at a resort earlier in our trip. The hotel; OK at best. Good location, within walking distance of most everything. That's the best part. It was clean, breakfast was ok. The rooms were ok. Pool was ok. I felt a lot of the paint was dingy - especially in the pool area. I didn't get a sense of new or renovated (although that was never stated by them). We've stayed at resorts, choice hotels and other nicer hotels. This was an OK hotel at a resort price. I would roll the dice on another hotel if we came through the area again. Maybe even pay a bit more if we were staying for longer than a night.

"Vacation"
Angie S, 17 Juillet 2018

The hotel was very clean. The staff was very friendly. The bathroom is very small. It contains the toliet and shower. The bathroom door almost hits the toliet when opening the door. The vanity is outside the bathroom which is fine but when you turn on the light, it hits the bed area.

"Room was fine-breakfast could be improved"
centuryoakfarm, 13 Juillet 2018

The hotel is nice and is centrally located to town and to the park. We went out for breakfast both mornings we were there as we were not impressed with the offerings but there is an awesome cafe around the corner with great apple cinnamon pancakes.

"Poor management"
Kim L, 08 Juillet 2018

We stayed at this hotel with a group for 2 nights in June. My brother and sister in law were moved to another room due to toilet issues soon after arrival. That is fine. As we are BOARDING OUR TOUR BUS the next morning they were told they needed to move to another room. It was obviously not feasible as we had to board our bus! They had just washed clothes and had them drying around the room (including lingerie and personal items) so understandably did not want their personal items touched. They told them to not move their items. Got back, they had been moved to another room. It is NOT the fault of the customer if the hotel does not have a room that is in working order and has to be moved to a different room that was obviously already sold to a higher paying customer. To move people's private things should not be legal. I would never recommend this hotel.

"Terrible!!!"
Candann7125, 02 Juillet 2018

This hotel is a joke. We have traveled 2 wks to several national parks in Utah, Montana and Wyoming and stayed at 10 different hotels. This was by far our most expensive hotel and for what?? Hotel was so cheaply constructed, we could hear everything upstairs and next door. It is located in one of the most beautiful places on earth, with a view of the parking lot. Bathroom so small, you had to maneuver the door shut to get in the shower. We paid $330 for this ridiculous room and because it was such a ripoff I will never stay at a Best Western again!!! West Yellowstone is a total tourist trap, skip it and continue on to Mammoth Springs! We stayed inside the park for far less money with Elk and a beautiful view.

"Removal of personal belongings by hotel staff and moved to different room ..."
harrimj01, 25 Juin 2018

On arrival, we noticed the toilet was clogged...not working. Reported it to the desk, someone came and tried to fix it. No success, someone else came and tried to fix it. Still no success, desk mgr. moved us to another room, slightly larger. Next morning, we are leaving for the day and was told by the desk mgr. we had to move to another room. I informed him I had already moved once and did not intend to move again. Our Tour Director informed him as well that we would not be moving. Returned to the hotel around 5pm,and our key doesn't work for the room. Checked the desk for another key and was told we had been moved out of the room. My wife and I (as well as other members of the tour standing at the desk) were shocked they had move our things from the room. Realized it was futile to argue with the desk mgr. since he had done as he was instructed. So, after calming my wife (she was in tears) and myself we called Best Western with a complaint. We initiated a complaint file and was told if the hotel did not contact us within 7 days the complaint would be handled at the corporate level. We were told this after this person had tried to contact someone at the hotel with no answer, not to mention the manager had made himself conveniently unavailable. The manager did contact me via e-mail 2 days later, apologizing for the misunderstanding. He explained that the move was necessary due to "accounting practices" and offered us a one night stay in a 3-story condo near this hotel. It would be really hard for us to take advantage of this living in East Tennessee so I countered with a comparable proposal. Regardless, NOBODY should have touched or moved ANY of our belongings!!!!

"TIP: BOOK THIS GREAT HOTEL EARLY or lose out to tour groups! "
DJfromIllinois, 17 Juin 2018

We booked two rooms in Jan2018 for our trip to Yellowstone in mid-May2018. SO glad we booked way in advance because by February 2018, there were NO rooms available for our dates in May! There was a big bus tour group staying every night we were there (3 nights, early in the season), so the demand is high and gets even more crowded in summer, so plan/book as far in advance as you can! We got a much lower rate by booking online in January for our trip in May...the prices went up significantly after that, most likely because the tour groups start booking up all the hotels as soon as the new year begins. We were very happy with the size of the two "oversized" rooms we booked. Both rooms had two double beds, a comfy chair with ottoman, a desk with ergo chair, & plenty of space for luggage (or a rollaway bed if needed). Slightly disappointed that one of the rooms was a "pet room" which we did NOT need (no pet) but supposedly it was the only room available. It was on the first floor, which was convenient for breakfast, but it smelled like a wet dog & kibble. The other room was on the third floor & was very clean & smelled much better. The hotel is 3 stories, with an elevator. Lobby is inviting with 2 leather sofas, several nice wood and tile tables. There is one computer desk for guests to use. Front desk employees, Freddy & Michael, we're pleasant & helpful & were efficient at check-in and check-out. Dining area is a bit small, especially when the tour bus crowd comes down, but I was told the hotel is looking into ways to expand their breakfast area. Omar & Fred do a GREAT job of keeping the breakfast foods & drinks & supplies replenished & diligently clean off tables so more guests can sit down as soon as possible! Very good choices of hot (eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles) & cold foods(cereals, pastries, yogurt, breads). Milk & orange & apple juice are available at breakfast. Coffee, hot chocolate & tea are available all day. Pool and hot tub are invitingly clean & good temperature. Saw someone testing water in both each morning. The location of the hotel is fantastic for everything you might need. There are several gas stations, restaurants & shops within a few block radius. There's even a grocery store if you need food or sundries. We ate at The Slippery Otter next door & it was pricey but good. Also, had tasty pizzas one night at Wild West Pizzeria which is about 2 blocks away. There is a McDonald's and IMAX theater a short drive down the street. And you can get brochures/maps and buy NPS passes there at the Info Center on the corner of Canyon & Yellowstone. TIP 2: some days/times they have the Express Lane open at the West Entrance to Yellowstone, whereby you might save time IF you already have your pass to show. (One day it was open, so we breezed through the line. But, next day it was not open, and it took about 20 minutes to get to the guard station inching along with all the tour buses and others paying at the entrance.) So, you might consider buying your NPS pass at the info center the day/night before you plan on going into the Park. The NPS desk in the info center was closed by the time we checked into the hotel & got there (just after 5pm), so we drove the short distance to the West Entrance guard station (no other cars were there at that time of day) paid for our pass, got the map from the ranger, drove past the gate and turned around and left the park in search of dinner. Having the pass saved us time the next morning as we breezed through the Express Lane! I highly recommend this Best Western Desert Inn hotel. (Don't confuse it with the other property, the Best Western Weston Inn, which is a 2 story motor inn/motel a few blocks away).

"Comfortable Headquarters for Yellowstone Trip"
JohntraveL2014, 01 Juin 2018

We have stayed at previous incarnations of Best Western in prior years visiting West Yellowstone. This property had been completely rebuilt and updated. Close to Park entrance and surrounded by restaurants and shops. Slippery Otter Pub next door a great place for lunch and dinner as well as a drink stop after a day in the Park. Good variety at breakfast that is included in rate. Staff welcoming and helpful, kept their wits the week we were there with a sold out house and installing a new computer system that runs the place. A good night's sleep and good breakfast just outside the Park.

"Stayed 3 nights and have only positive things to say"
Anne O, 20 Mai 2018

This hotel is super convenient for a Yellowstone vacation, walkable to town with lots of local eateries and shops. The parking was easy, the breakfast was above average (and we found out the hot portions vary slightly from day to day, which was a nice surprise) with an attentive staff on hand, the double queen room was clean, large, and comfortable with nice photos on the walls with a shower and toilet in a separate room from the sink/vanity area (which was neither good or bad, just worth mentioning). The front desk were always very courteous and friendly. And bonus, we had a view of serene Montana countryside out of our window.

"Very Nice Stay"
lvmt4sure, 20 Mai 2018

A nice place to stay while visiting Yellowstone. Very clean and friendly staff. Room was excellent with great decor and comfortable beds. Stayed just one night. Wished it were more! The room was very roomy and comfy for four people. Located downtown and close to Diners and shops. The breakfast was good. Just wished they had gravy to go with the biscuits. Parking fills fast. Not sure where overflow parking is located. Many hotels you park on the street.

"Expected more for the money"
FLgolfer_2, 20 Mai 2018

Clean room & comfortable bed but if it were located anywhere other than near the entrance to Yellowstone National Park, it would be 1/3 the price. This is a bare bones basic hotel which is functional and not very attractive.

"Just the Best"
Patty K, 19 Mai 2018

From reservation conversation to check out time, all was wonderful. Friendly, helpful desk hostess to great room, location and breakfast, all was better than expected and much appreciated. Our stay at Best Western Desert Inn contributed greatly to a pleasurableYellowstone vacation.

"Great Value for West Yellowstone"
dgccouple, 17 Mai 2018

We spent 4 nights at this hotel, and found it to be very clean, comfortable, nicely appointed, and very convenient to Yellowstone National Park. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The breakfasts are much better than your average Best Western breakfast with multiple hot and cold selections, and different options on different days. The swimming pool was of decent size and is heated, which will feel good after a long day in the park. Best of all, their room rates are very reasonable given their convenient location. The only negative I can mention is that they do cater to the bus tour groups, so the hotel can be very busy for check-ins and check-outs if a group is there, and the hotel tends to book up months in advance. We were told they are already booked full through the end of 2018, so book early if you want to stay here.

"What a GREAT hotel!"
Melinda2003, 12 Mai 2018

We had a really great experience at this hotel. The coffee was the best so far. Wish all the Best Westerns used that coffee. :) The staff went above and beyond, even offering to carry our bags up to our room for us! Great experience!

"Friend trip"
deelor1, 11 Mai 2018

The hotel was a little hard to find but was nice once we found it. Staff were helpful with recommending a place to eat. Breakfast had a good variety. Would stay here again. Close to Yellowstone Park entrance.

"Awesome Hotel expereince Best Western at Wes Yellowstone (Desert Inn)"
Hari I, 09 Mai 2018

very professional staff, helpful, assisting. Breakfast items are excellent and fully stocked. Will definitely worth recommending. Excellent location close to the West Yellowstone gate, guided tour buses stop here. good restaurants walking distance from hotel. Hotel is spotless and clean, was a pleasant surprise.

"Great Hotel"
Scott H, 07 Mai 2018

Very nice hotel. Clean rooms. Excellent breakfast. You're just outside of Yellowstone NP, so the location couldn't be much better. The staff was decent - but not great. The room was clean and nice, ad truthfully, that's all I really care about. I would highly recommend this Best Western!

"Enjoyed stay"
hdbiker2005, 06 Mai 2018

The hotel was clean, reasonably priced, and the staff was very professional. The breakfast was OK, better than other establishments, but not as good as a five star restaurant. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

"Quiet"
Shane O, 02 Avril 2018

Nice place to bed down for the night....usually has a couple spots for a semi ...way to much snow today...very close to downtown and a couple places to throw groceries down your neck gas station right across the road for drinks or snacks...gets pretty busy during the summer so plan ahead

"thank you"

"Everything you'd want right nx to Park"
Elizabeth M, 04 Février 2018

Walking distance to entire town and Park. Restaurant with nice bar in-house. Decent pool & hot tub. Ample spacious rooms with fridges, micro, etc. Great for families or to use as base for adventure trip.

"3 nights stay in Desert Inn"
VISWESWARA, 30 Janvier 2018

A warm, comfortable hotel with very good facilities, very helpful staff. Best part is the Indoor pool and a very good restaurant. ] The location of the hotel is excellent, very much at the town center. Rooms are very well and aptly equipped with all necessary requirements.

"Great room"
Nadgor, 23 Janvier 2018

Very nice service. Bed was made, things restocked.. place does smell like bleach. They have an indoor pool and jacuzzi which is great but the whole place has the bleach smell. Cute lobby, free breakfast.

"Way nicer than expected"
kmk11600, 22 Janvier 2018

I'd stay here again anytime I visit Yellowstone. It's about 5-10 From west entrance. All refurbished. Very comfortable beds. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. Did our laundry here. Breakfast was good but eating area small. Very nice andclean

"Nice Stay Winter Yellowstone Tour"
Robert M, 29 Décembre 2017

All good - no issues. Good breakfast. Hotel is clean, well maintained and close to the Yellowstone park entrance. Breakfast was more than adequate and service provided by hotel staff was good. Recommend

"ok but unbelievably expensive"
Chrissie M, 02 Décembre 2017

unbelievably expensive and no breakfast included. there is a restaurant attached but it has a very weird menu. room shave been refurbed but it is a basic building and doors, walls etc show their age badly. nice front desk staff

"Welcoming, warm winter stay."
mks773, 30 Novembre 2017

We stayed here during a snowmobile trip to the Yellowstone area. Very clean, friendly staff. The breakfast was complete and hot. There were many customers staying who were snowmobiling and winter visiting Yellowstone. While the lobby was a bit crowded during the morning hours, everyone was patient and friendly.

"Best Western in West Yellowstone provides comfortable stsy"
Julia R R, 26 Novembre 2017

This is our second stay at this hotel. We have found the hotel service to be consistently excellent, rooms are clean and updated. The WiFi is excellent. They also have an excellent heated pool and hot tub. Selections at breakfast are limited.

"Location & Comfort"
Kim M, 22 Novembre 2017

Not to be outdone, Mom Nature sends a major severe winter storm to WY the same day I arrive. MUCH appreciation to the staff (11-15-17) for their patience, courtesy, (humor!), and willingness to help me reroute my drive south to Jackson. Hotel very close to Yellowstone west entrance, easy to find and easy access to Rt 20 westbound. Breakfast included, rooms updated, indoor pool, plenty of parking. Would book again.... in summer. (FYI, did not need Wi-Fi, had decent network coverage, but hotel has free service)

"Nice Hotel"
BillLakeSherwood, 19 Novembre 2017

Nice clean room with comfortable bed. It is within walking distance of three or four very nice restaurants and at the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The free breakfast was the best I've had in a motel although the large eating area was filled due to what appeared to be a couple groups of tourists all preparing to leave at the same time.

"Excellent Hotel - Close to Yellowstone Entrance"
carolkR4945MU, 30 Octobre 2017

This hotel is clean and has good amenities. The beds are very comfortable. Even the water tastes good here. I was told that it comes from a natural spring nearby. The breakfast included protein sources rather than just sweet cereals and breads. The coffee was good, too. I was visiting Yellowstone and the entrance is blocks away. The price was very reasonable. Overall I was very happy that I stayed here.

"Pleasantly Surprised"
Marlene W, 27 Octobre 2017

Stayed here on a whim on my way to Yellowstone! We checked and got a room with two queens. I have to say it was VERY clean and even smelled good and clean. The room had all he amenities I like- fridge, microwave, and coffee. It is very close to eating and shopping. Parking was easy. Check and check out was fast. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast buffet. It was acceptable with good coffee. I would recommend this Best Western- great hotel great price.

"A good place to stay when visiting Yellowstone"
hgee, 27 Octobre 2017

This hotel exceeded our expectations ; considering it is a chain hotel the room was comfortable , clean and quiet during our two night stay and was ideally located for quick access to Yellowstone NP. The room rate was expensive but that is due to the convenient location for which you are paying a premium and all the nearby hotels charge similar rates. The breakfast was typical hotel fare but with a good choice of food both hot and cold. West Yellowstone is very touristy but we had an enjoyable walk around in the evening. Overall we would recommend this hotel if visiting Yellowstone

"Everything you need at a good price"
leannej7, 24 Octobre 2017

Good location, nice hotel, clean rooms, comfy beds, ok breakfast (I like healthy food - they have your typical hotel breakfast), decent pool / hot tub, friendly staff, easy parking, and all for a good price.

"I paid for convenience to restaurants"
Rick E, 15 Octobre 2017

I like the location because I could walk to restaurants and it was located near the entrance to Yellowstone. Because I stayed in October I thought the nightly rate was excessive. Nothing outstanding about the room

"a very nice comfortable stay - great breakfast"
Les G, 14 Octobre 2017

we enjoyed our stay it had great beds. a Big samsung flat screen TV [limited channels] but the picture and sound were very good. the only downside is the WiFi dropped us constantly as it did t other area hotels in that town. My guess is they share the same bad network person and or the same bad networking software that kicks you out and asks for the name and password over and over. the breakfast was very good and the coffee the juice the water were all good. :) the service ppl and the desk folks were all great in this hotel. it is in a good location with several restaurants nearby to choose from. also many shops [if your into that] Not all best Westerns are good. This one is well worth the stop over.

"Perfect location for visiting Yellowstone"
tmdsgy, 13 Octobre 2017

The hotel is within walking distance of a number of restaurants and shopping. It is also really close to the west entrance of Yellowstone Staff was great. The breakfast was plentiful and okay. It was a great choice for visiting the park

"Yellowstone"
Steve S, 12 Octobre 2017

What can I say, we traveled 10 days on our trip and every night was spent at a BW. We stay for the value and location in or very near our planned journey. This location as well as all the other BW's we utilized met the standards BW is known for.

"Do it again. "
Stacy T, 11 Octobre 2017

I'm kind of hesitant to tell you how good this place really was in fear that the price will be so good if I come back next time. The rooms were extremely spacious and comfortable queen-size beds. very clean and well kept. Had a nice size indoor pool which we did not use. Conveniently located blackout game but the town is very dark there are no streetlights. But the best part of this hotel was breakfast. It was not a small skimpy continental breakfast there was biscuits and gravy he sausage patties sausage link, Omelettes, French toast, yogurt, fruit, pastries. And all sorts of drinks and cereal and yogurt. The staff was great on check in as well. Would highly recommend staying here

"Excellent"
angooredcow, 07 Octobre 2017

The top employee of this Best Western is Michael. When I remarked that the rate was too high, he brought it down immediately. I did not have to twist his arm. As a result, I stayed at this Best Western instead of driving to two other Best Westerns which are also in town. I was most grateful because I was weary from a busy day at the Yellowstone National Park. Michael is an astute businessman and gracious. Thank you. The room was huge with two queen-size beds. Everything was cheerful, clean, and worked. Breakfast was excellent. The design of the two rooms enhanced breakfast. All the food were beautifully presented and accessible in one very pleasant room. The customers ate in the other room. Food was ample and continually replenished. The breakfast areas were maintained by hard-working employees. The location is perfect. It is just outside the west entrance of the Yellowstone National Park and an easy 35 miles from Old Faithful geyser. This particular Best Western is as good as a Hampton Inn. It was a wonderful stay.

"Decent Hotel but Somewhat Expensive"
radx4, 07 Octobre 2017

We were looking to stay in or around Yellowstone when planning our trip six months ago. Even that far out hotel selection in Yellowstone was very limited. We instead decided to stay outside the park. This was a good decision as West Yellowstone is full of restaurants and shops, and the drive into the park was not too big of an issue most of the time. The Best Western Desert Inn is a decent hotel. Our room was particularly large, the location in town was convenient with easy access to the park, restaurants, gas stations, and shops. Included breakfast was okay and helped get us going quickly in the morning. There are some downsides. The fruit at breakfast was entirely unripe and inedible. The hallways had a bit of a musty smell, and the hotel is a bit outdated. The refrigerator in our room was particularly loud when it ran, which woke me up on a couple of occasions. And, due to high demand, the hotel is overpriced for what it delivers. Still, I would recommend the Best Western Desert Inn. Despite a few issues, we had a fine stay, and it seemed to be one of the better hotels in West Yellowstone.

"Way too Expensive"
Michael C, 05 Octobre 2017

For the money paid, this hotel wasn't anything special. I guess one just has to expect to pay very high rates in resort areas like this. Wait, no you don't. For the money paid, one should expect excellent service, great amenities, and superior rooms. I doubt very much if I would ever stay here again.

"A very average stay"
Hopeful2, 04 Octobre 2017

We stayed here for one night during September. This is a very average hotel however it is in a great location both in terms of being right in the middle of West Yellowstone as well as access to the park. The room was tired, dark and depressing but it was clean. It was exceptionally overpriced for the quality of the hotel but guess this is due to its location.

"Convenient !"
Movingmike, 29 Septembre 2017

We were unable to get accommodation within Yellowstone so chose this hotel which is very close to the West entrance. The rooms are large and clean. The hotel has an indoor pool although did not see anyone using it over the 4 days we stayed. The one major problem is the size of the breakfast room, especially when the hotel attracts many coach parties. There were times that people had to stand to eat their breakfast in the reception area. This does not look good to people checking in and out. The breakfast staff really try hard to make sure that a variety of food is available, but due to the size of the room cause more problems which is not their fault. As with most hotels in West Yellowstone the room prices are high!

"Best Deal Around West YellowStone"
tammythetypist, 28 Septembre 2017

This is hotel is perfect for those who want a hotel close to the West Entrance of Yellowstone and mostly need a bed to sleep, a hot tub to soak the days hiking pain and a free very comprehensive breakfast! Very friendly and competent staff. Breakfast staff very helpful and keep food hot and fresh. They offered eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, French toast, fresh fruit, fruit cups, cereal both hot and cold, toast and bagel with cream cheese, orange and apple juices, tea and coffee. No waffle maker, but who needs that! Large dining room. You can take back to room. Rooms have refrigerators, microwave, hair dryer, and coffee maker. This is our second stay here in years and we will do it again!

"Average but convenient to town"
Sandra S, 28 Septembre 2017

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, our room was clean, and we liked that the toilet and shower/tub were separate from the vanity and sink. The hotel is pricy though at over $200 per night but we have come to expect that when we stay near national parks. We liked the proximity to town and restaurants - all with walking distance - and we were just a few miles from the national park entrance.

"Good Place to Stay in West Yellowstone"
TravelWell040, 28 Septembre 2017

After looking at several hotels on line and reading the reviews, we settled on the Best Western Desert Inn and am glad we did. Free Wi-Fi, clean rooms, friendly staff in the center of town. Walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, and shops. It has an indoor swimming pool, laundry, and serves breakfast as part of the stay. Free parking.

"Professionally run hotel ."
poppycottage19HH, 26 Septembre 2017

Wonderful hotel, very comfortable and run with guests needs in mind. The quality and standard of the breakfast was amazing and Fred who was in charge filled things up prior to anything running out high was great, as so many places don't seem to bother. All the staff were very fmriendly and attentive from check in to check out. The location too is great as it is only minutes away from the entrance to Yellowstone. All in all a lovely warm and relaxing place to come back too after a long "cold" day driving.

"Old Fashion"
Q6313KXdavidf, 20 Septembre 2017

The location is great for Yellowstone West. The room and amenities are very old fashion and rusty ( not in a good way). The room is big , but the layout is not very efficient. The coffee is undrinkable.

"Nice hotel"
O6219BRelizabethl, 20 Septembre 2017

The hotel is conveniently located very close to the west entrance of Yellowstone. The room that we stayed in had 2 king size beds, which was very nice. There are several good restaurants within walking distance.

"Comfortable room,Great location"
ronald99, 18 Septembre 2017

We just stayed three nights at the Desert Inn.The hotel is clean and comfortable. It is easily within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Also the entrance to Yellowstone is minutes away.Breakfast was plentiful and they had nice changes daily.I would recommend this hotel for a "home base" for touring.

"Yellowstone"
beaross1111, 18 Septembre 2017

Stayed for a quick night before our day trip to Yellowstone. Stay was great. Pool did state on website that it was not in order but was open when we arrived. Breakfast was above average and room was clean and comfortable. We will be back!

"Great place to stay"
muttsrus, 17 Septembre 2017

Good, clean, and friendly place. The room was large and well laid out. The free breakfast was very good. A great location for the western half of Yellowstone National Park-the town is right outside Yellowstone's west gate.

"VERY CLEAN AND NICE!"
rachellec452, 14 Septembre 2017

All the amenities you could ask for. We had a fridge, internet, comfortable beds, pool and spa, really good breakfast spread (eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, fresh fruit, and more!), and excellent service from the entire staff!

"Best Western Desrt Inn West Yellowstone"
Mark T, 14 Septembre 2017

excellent location, rooms and hotel facilities are older, need to update décor etc... restaurant and buffet were just average. Expected more for the room prices. Guess you are paying for the location.

"Good base station to Yellowstone"
Garry B, 12 Septembre 2017

The hotel is a newer hotel, located about 2 miles to the West entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It is a perfect location to use as a base camp for visiting any area of Yellowstone. There are plenty of eating establishments and small shops within walking distance to the hotel. However, grocery stores are rather small and limited on some items. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful when needed. The rooms are nice, clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts has plenty of selections of quality food. The only complaints we would have is the fact that the breakfast area is rather small for a hotel that often has no vacancies. Also, the price per night is rather expensive.

"Comfortable, convenient to Yellowstone and downtown."
quentk2017, 12 Septembre 2017

We stayed two nights to visit Yellowstone. Park entrance was about 1 mile from hotel, hotel is in downtown area, so easy 5 minute walk to restaurants. A little pricey, but all hotels in area are. Breakfast was fine, many hot and cold options, biscuits, gravy, sausage, eggs, yoghurt, etc. Definitely would stay here again.

"A great central location."
Jackie G, 10 Septembre 2017

Convenient location. Room we stayed in was lovely with fridge microwave etc. Excellent cooked breakfast included in the price. More expensive than we would normally pay, but all hotels in the area are expensive because of proximity to Yellowstone Park.

"Vacation Out West"
Karolyn W, 05 Septembre 2017

I would recommend this hotel is was clean and the beds were very nice. The hot breakfast was very nice as well. I thought the price was a little high but I enjoyed my stay there. It was in a nice location.

"Good place to stay to visit Yellowstone NP"
Wout V, 04 Septembre 2017

The room was nice and clean. Our room was close to the swimming pool but there was no extra noise nor smell noticeable in our room. The breakfast could be better if you compare it to the rest of the hotel and services. The children loved the swimming pool. The hotel is close to the Yellowstone West entrance.

"Average but expensive"
RonVermont, 04 Septembre 2017

Due to the great location, very close to the west entry to Yellowstone, this hotel is very expensive for what you get. The hotel staff was excellent and the room was clean and well maintained. We only stayed one night. Location was within walking distance to a number of restaurants and appeared to be in a safe area.

"Great location"
RonVermont, 04 Septembre 2017

Nothing special but it is in a great location. It is about 1/2 mile from the west entrance to Yellowstone. Within walking distance to some restaurants. Expect to pay top dollar due to the location. The room appeared clean and well maintained. We did receive a handicap room but we assumed it was all they had left that had two beds as we needed. In a safe area.

"Great Place to Stay"
Rick L, 03 Septembre 2017

We are always treated great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and quiet and the breakfast is great. We stay here every year. Close to the west entrance to Yellowstone. We love it.

"Decent but..."
cintrix, 31 Août 2017

Clean and comfortable. They had a very nice breakfast every morning too. The location is perfect. You can walk to shops and restaurants. It is located a short distance from the Yellowstone entrance. Only three stars because I did have a problem with the toilet and reported it twice only to be told by the front desk that they sent someone to fix it and there was nothing wrong with it. Like I have nothing better to do on my vacation then to complain about a toilet that has NOTHING wrong with it? That was beyond insulting.

"Nothing to complain about. Great place to stay."
Swede9, 30 Août 2017

We stayed here 2 nights one on our arrival in West Yellowstone and one the night before leaving for home. Just what you need for an overnight stay, clean rooms, roll-away bed, nice basic breakfast that included, cereals, toast, fruit, eggs (scrambled) and bacon, helpful staff…just great. Free internet, a little business desk with computer and printer. Located within walking distance of the center of town. Would easily stay here again.

"Standard hotel near West entrance of Yellowstone"
MC_NJ1, 30 Août 2017

This is a standard chain hotel nothing great other than location. Check-in was easy and simple, parking gets tough late at night but we managed to find a spot. Room was standard, refrigerator in the room is turned off so depending on when it was turned off it may have odor. Room was clean and AC/Heat unit was fine and noisy, carpets looked clean as well. Bathroom door needed painting, but bathroom was clean and had all required amenities. Breakfast is continental breakfast with eggs, muffins, cereal and variety of breads with Coffee and orange juice. The staff at breakfast was friendly and kept the place clean given that the hotel was completely sold/booked. I see some people complaining about the cost but this prices were average for location and busy season.

"great stay"
michelek782, 30 Août 2017

We stayed at BW Desert Inn for one night and because it was the busy season we also stayed at the Best Western Premier in the same neighborhood. Our teen aged boys were happy to see that they would be sharing a king size bed at Desert Inn and the free and fast buffet breakfast was great to get us on the road quickly. The pre-made Spanish omelets were a big hit. Definitely recommend

"Just average and very over-priced (weekend before eclipse)."
Michigander94, 26 Août 2017

Not the freshest room, cool white fluorescent lighting, somewhat dim. Average but quite expensive when we stayed--Summer weekend in August, before the eclipse. Not really worth it--but there were not many choices when we reserved the room. Breakfast had great fresh biscuits but little else to be excited about.

"Average hotel with a great location"
Steve75212, 24 Août 2017

I read a lot of the mixed reviews prior to selecting this hotel. As usual the truth lies somewhere in between. The location is great - it is located right outside of the west entrance. There is a lot of souvenir shopping and restaurants nearby (withing walking distance). The hotel is a little bit dated. I understand why people get upset about the price but it is pricey due the simply laws of supply and demand - lots of tourists in summer and there are very few even "good" hotels in the area. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast - it was OK. The breakfast area DOES get crowded! The service was OK at best. I had an issue in which I reserved a larger room (with a pull out sofa) but it was not available (Grrr) so we had SIX people in one room so it was a bit tight. I don't think they handled it very well, but in reality we spent very little time in the room so it was a bit of a moot point. This was one of 6 hotels we stayed at on our road trip and I would say they probably had the worst customer service - not horrible but just not great. In the end, I was a little disappointed but I am not sure there are much better options if you want to stay in West Yellowstone.

"Great location, bad customer service"
JerseyGirl313, 23 Août 2017

If you are going to Yellowstone you cannot beat the location. Although GPS doesn't put you in the right direction from the entrance so ask for specific directions (Google told us to turn which placed us on a street which is the back of the hotel). You ate in the center of town walking distance to shops and restaurants. The hotel staff was a bit rude when we called directly to book our room. I figured it was just because they were busy and wanted to make sure we were arriving. Nope when I arrived they were just as rude, just pointing for me to sign and initial and cutting me off when I was asking questions. My family and I got into our room which was very clean, the beds were adequate but I had to ask for more towels. The front desk made it an act of Congress. Don't bother asking questions about breakfast or the pool they will just point you to a sign (but what if you have food allergies or a special needs person traveling with you, which we had both). For the price I should have stayed within the park. The hotel's lack of customer service shows with crowds they are not hurting for business. Best part was the Wild West Pizzeria can deliver to your door and they were awesome.

"Poor hotel"
Ellen A, 21 Août 2017

Very poor hotel. Would not go back and stay there again. We stayed at several hotels on our trip and found that for half the cost in other areas we got twice the hotel. Tourist trap. Find another area to stay

"Great hotel!"
bandman58, 17 Août 2017

The Best Western Desert Inn in located on the main street of West Yellowstone, just down or across the street from most of the restaurants, mall and the Grizzly Bear Discovery Center. What was most appreciated was the rooms being neat and quite spacious which was wonderful when 4 people are sharing it. My husband loved the breakfasts which included: waffles, french toast, biscuits and gravy, sausage links and patties, bacon, cheese omelets, a variety of breads, cereals, yogurt, and fruit. We felt spoiled each morning. The room isn't very large, but no one stays for long. We chose to eat at 7:00 a.m., get an early start on the day and then come back in the early afternoon. The hotel pool is large and our grand-daughters swam every afternoon when it wasn't busy. Just a note: *There needs to be more towels available for swimmers. We all enjoyed this hotel very much and recommend others visiting Yellowstone to consider staying in it.

"Right at the West Entrance to Yellowstone"
karen s, 16 Août 2017

Clean and right were you want to be. You can walk the main street and shop or get something to eat. Pricey, but I think it is location location location. Breakfast area was a good size and there was plenty of parking.

"Ok hotel that is overpriced"
amywP6370YG, 14 Août 2017

The hotel did what it needed to but nothing else. It is incredibly overpriced at over $250 a night. You're better off getting a tent and sleeping bags than paying this price. The breakfast area is crowded, the interior is outdated, the swimming pool is scary as one can't tell how clean it is.

"yellowstone vacation breeze thru"
Robert L W, 13 Août 2017

the hotel is located in a great touristy area with lots of assorted stores to window shop in.the hotel parking was easy to park in especially before 4pm after that large tourist buses start arriving and the vehicle parking area fills up fast. the room was clean and well kept and the shower had really good pressure and the room heated and cooled fast. the front desk people were friendly and full of information about the local area.we visited yellowstone from 7am until 4 or 5 pm then came back to the hotel to rest and shop. everything is within easy walking distance in west yellowstone. great place and great people . we really enjoyed our stay.

"Close to everything"
brynnes, 10 Août 2017

Stayed at this property due to its proximity to the park. Good service, decent room - the bathroom was very cramped - hard to close the door since the toilet was so close to the door. Not a deal breaker by any means. Price was high for the room but not for the location. Walking distance to everything in west Yellowstone. Would consider staying here again.

"Will not stay here again"
kxz255, 09 Août 2017

The hotel looks so old. So is the room deco. Front desk staff is not helpful. And there is only one elevator. The breakfast sucks. I am only staying here for one night. I will be staying Yellowstone canyon for the next 3 days

"Great place to stay!"
Lnmargel, 06 Août 2017

Best stay ever! All the people at this hotel were personable and friendly and went out of their way to insure us a wonderful stay. They gave us good recommendations and saw to our every need. The property is clean and updated

"Nice and clean"
Stephanie S, 02 Août 2017

Nice hotel and very clean. Close to everything and can walk from the hotel to almost anything. The Slippery Otter was right in front and had good food. The floors are a little thin. We could hear walking above us so maybe try the top floor, 3rd floor. It's also a little noisy closer to the street but it wasn't a problem for us. Nice size room with a single serve coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave. Nice size bathroom. Beds were comfortable and on the firm side. I would stay here again. West Yellowstone is great and so close to Yellowstone NP.

"Spacious rooms"
Boreas v, 28 Juillet 2017

Spacious rooms. Good air conditioning. Friendly staff. Clean. 2 beds that fit 4 if you are not too big. Just 2 minutes outside of Yellowstone West entrance. So 45 minutes to Old Faithful. Same for Norris. Geyser basin. Very well situated indeed. We did not use the complimentary breakfast as the space they provide it in was both small and unappealing. We even saw people eating in the lobby area as seating was not available at the time. Prices are high for rooms in comparison to same quality hotels.

"Small rooms, relatively clean"
erinrQ4296WZ, 25 Juillet 2017

The rooms were small but pretty clean. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was fine. This Best Western is in the middle of West Yellowstone which is really touristy with almost no decent restaurants. I'd probably look to stay in a lodge where you can make your own food. Additionally, because it is in a tourist town, this Best Western is pretty expensive.

"Nice Hotel But Very High Rates for Value Offered"
61debih, 25 Juillet 2017

The hotel is an average hotel, clean, no problems, no complaints but no over the top amenities in the hotel to justify the high rate. Its just a shame hotels get away with price gouging when located in high tourist areas.

"Location, location, location"
monbart, 24 Juillet 2017

We arrived extremely late (1am) but hotel staff was very friendly and check-in took only 2 minutes. Excellent location. Approximately 1 mile from the entrance gate to the park and very close to shops and restaurants. Very clean room with nice decor. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody visiting The Yellowstone National Park.

"Expensive but a nice property"
Ralph B, 24 Juillet 2017

We arrived in West Yellowstone a day early without a reservation but the Best Western Desert had one room available for us which was a blessing as it was a little less expensive than the other Best Western plus it had a better complimentary breakfast.

"Very Nice Hotel at a High Price"
Jack A, 22 Juillet 2017

Very nice hotel in downtown West Yellowstone. The room was large and well appointed. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, I would have been more impressed if the room had been $150 rather the $250. Unfortunately that seems to be the prevailing mid-summer rate. The free breakfast was decent with hot steam table eggs and meat, plus fresh fruits and dairy products.

"All Good"
mslade, 20 Juillet 2017

Great location. Easy walk all around town. Lots of places to eat close by. Easy check in and check out. Great breakfast with a wide variety of hot and cold foods. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean. I would definitely stay here again.

"Great for an overnight stay"
Greg L, 19 Juillet 2017

We stayed here due its close proximity to the Yellowstone National Park entrance. The beds and bathroom were clean and the room was spacious and quiet. The breakfast was good and had a lot of variety. The staff was also helpful and very friendly. We will definitely stay here again on our return trip to Yellowstone!

"Overpriced and needs to be modernized"
javagirl29, 19 Juillet 2017

We stayed at this hotel the night before we took a trip thru Yellowstone. It was convenient (about a half mile to the park entrance) but we paid $300 plus tax for a room that would have been priced at less than $100 elsewhere. The rooms were reminiscent of 1960 and infant reminded me of the old Holiday Inns I stayed in on a family trip in 1967. There was a persistent chlorine smell from the pool and I would say the hotel was one shade from seedy although it was clean. The "free" breakfast was nothing special and the hotel staff, while courteous, were unable to answer the easiest questions (Where is the best place to have dinner?) with any insight or enthusiasm. The cleaning staff was efficient and friendly. My husband and I agree that if we made the trip again we would either look elsewhere or choose a different entrance to the park for better accommodations

"Clean and comfortable"
carmack_kid, 15 Juillet 2017

As the title indicates, this a clean, comfortable hotel. Good front desk assistance. It is also right around the corner from the Slippery Otter Pub, a great eatery. (no driving, just walk) Would stay again if ever in W. Yellowstone

"Best hotel in Yellowstone "
Diana and Dwayn... S, 14 Juillet 2017

This was a clean and comfortable hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hot breakfast starts serving at 6 am,and had a variety of foods including sausage, bacon, cereal, eggs, toast, and fruit.I would recommend going to breakfast early because it fills up fast.It was walking distance to restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. There was also a computer with printer in the lobby to help us print out boarding passes. The wifi was surprisingly good for this area.

"Excellent stay!"
Jennifer A, 13 Juillet 2017

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and pleasant. Our room was spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. The only disappointment was the breakfast which was mediocre and served in a crowded area.

"West Yellowstone tourist trap"
Robert L, 12 Juillet 2017

Place was terribly expensive for a place to sleep. It seemed like the staff could care less if you were satisfied or not. Breakfast was the biggest treat of all. I likened it to a feeding frenzy at a zoo. Zero room to actually enjoy your breakfast. Certainly not enough room to accommodate all the people trying to get into Yellowstone. The food was suspect at best. I suppose you get what you pay for. I got all this for only $289 a night. I guess I could have payed $300-400 and probably gotten the same thing.

"A Very Pleasant Stay "
Rochele, 12 Juillet 2017

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western Desert Inn while visiting Yellowstone National Park. We loved the room. It was very spacious and very clean. The breakfast that was served was excellent. Everything was available from cereals to yogurt to scrambled eggs and bacon and sausage. It made for a perfect hiker's breakfast. Perhaps the thing that impressed me the most though, was the remote control for the television. It was in a sealed pouch with the notation on it saying "fresh remote." It appears the remotes are disinfected between guest visits, which is a wonderful thing to do since remotes are notorious for carrying large amounts of bacteria on them. I would highly recommend this hotel while visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park.

"Pleasant Stay at Best Western"
Gaurav S, 10 Juillet 2017

It was amazing stay at Best Western . Loved the breakfast service, ambiance . The location is a plus point , near to west gate of yellowstone & downtown. The shops & surrounding pubs are very good. Must try to stay this locations:)

"Clean hotel in the middle of town with friendly staff"
Alison S, 08 Juillet 2017

Stayed here at the end of June for a family trip to Yellowstone. Rooms were clean and spacious, free breakfast was well stocked and consistent, hotel was within a stone's throw of almost everything in town. Good parking and friendly staff, clean laundry facilities offered and the pool was well-maintained. The wi-fi was unfortunately extremely slow, but it helped with the screen detox!

"Expensive !! Best Western"
12ballard, 02 Juillet 2017

The hotel is a typical Best Western and the breakfast was as well. $251 plus taxes a night for what you would normally spend $130 a night in similar accommodations was a downer, but Yellowstone is expensive. The parking lot is next to a dirt gravel lot so you wake up in the morning with a dusty or (if it rained that night) a mud covered car. The a/c unit was a little noisy, but otherwise the room was quiet. The desk staff was not as helpful as we had on the rest of our trip.

"Pool problems"
630lauriew, 28 Juin 2017

The hotel was located wonderfully close to the west Yellowstone entrance. Cute town. Good restaurants. Our only problem was that the staff would not monitor behavior in the swimming pool. Several of the people in the pool were causing a dangerous situation for the rest of those using the pool.

"Dirty bed sheets, No Internet"
Haras J, 26 Juin 2017

The bed sheet had a big stain and a palm print by a kid which you can't miss. It wasn't probably changed after previous guest checked out or the maid is blind. The Internet was very slow and the connection dropped every 5 minutes. When I inquired the front desk about it, the clerk says he's not aware of any problems. I tried again at the lobby later, same problem. A different clerk then informed me they have problems with their router and they are getting a new one the following week. I asked him about the DSL modem in the room and whether I could use a wired connection. He didn't even know there was such a thing in their rooms. Needless to say, the wired connection didn't work either. I've been always happy with Best Western so far but I guess there's always first time. This over-priced property interested only in ripping off tourists definitely has no service.

"NICE, GOOD BUT VERY EXPENSIVE AND POOR BREAKFAST"
CORNEL361, 26 Juin 2017

For 279$ per night I expect better breakfast. The Wi-Fi is a joke and nobody cares. The location is very good, nice pool and Jacuzzi. Rooms are nice and clean. You can not charge base on the season and do not offer nothing more.

"Resort prices but below average service"
Merrily H, 22 Juin 2017

Expect resort prices, even higher than in Yellowstone Park. Both breakfast and the pool had limited hours which made breakfast very crowded with limited seating. Service was basic with nothing exceptional as might be expected for the price paid.

"RUDE STAFF"
Denise W, 18 Juin 2017

If you get here and Erika is helping you.....turn around and leave! Upon check in, I asked for late check out as I was running the Yellowstone Half Marathon. I was given an extra half an hour past check out. I would have liked more, but was thankful for that and would make it work. At 11:25 the day of check out, our room phone rang and my husband answered it. It was Erika calling to remind us to leave. My husband said "yes, we are just about to leave, we'll be out in 10 minutes". She rudely responded with "you have five minutes or I'm charging you a late fee." Are you kidding me? A loyal Best Western rewards member and you're threatening me over 5 minutes? HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I then called her back to question it and she was extremely rude. I understand that the hotel was full and we had to be out. We were ON OUR WAY OUT! We were not going to be late checking out. Had she not both wasted our time with her rudeness and angered us with her unprofessional actions, we would have even been gone 5 minutes early! I have never at any hotel, anywhere in the world had a front desk employee call me and threaten me to get out. I would never stay at this hotel again, and honestly would have to think hard about staying at a hotel owned by the same people if they allow an employee to speak to a loyal customer like that. Up until our interaction with Erika, our stay had been very pleasant. Thanks to her, it ruined our experience and we will never come back.

"Great for the park"
Barry J, 18 Juin 2017

The hotel is ideal as abase for the National Park. Like most hotels in West Yellowstone it is pricey but it is just about value for money. Staff are very friendly and the breakfast is adequate and served early which is important if you want to get to the park before the crowds.

"Nice and close to the park entrance"
GCarnaffan, 17 Juin 2017

Arrived late and left early, but the room was large, clean and comfortable. I prepaid as part of a larger trip, my only comment therefore would be the rate on the form I signed was $269 for the night. This must be location premium as this is a huge premium for the class of hotel and room. If its the going rate in the location, then, so be it! Breakfast was good quality and a good range of hot and cold options, good wifi also.

"Pleasantly Surpeised"
Karen P, 16 Juin 2017

We did a last minute change in plans and stayed in West Yellowstone instead of Butte, Montana and the only hotel we saw was BW and reluctantly asked for a room. They had an oversized two twin bed that was great for us. It was a little price for a BW, but I guess if you consider it was right outside the Yellowstone west entrance and walking distance to other nice attractions it wasn't too bad. Really recommend it. Pool was nice, breakfast was great with package pastries that we took for the ride back to Wyoming. We did laundry as well.

"Better than I Thought!"
Deblene, 14 Juin 2017

Great Hotel! Great Staff!! Great location! I am very picky, and I couldn't find anything wrong. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast, but the eating area was very clean. It's the best of the Best Westerns!

"Much nicer than the other Best Western nearby"
Texas_suz, 07 Juin 2017

Half my family booked the other Best Western and half booked this one, as we didn't realize there were 2 right down the street from each other. If you have the choice, I'd pick this one. It was clearly newer, had a much larger lobby and breakfast area, and is more of a traditional hotel where you have an elevator and can access it from inside (the other one was more motel style and you had to walk on the exterior stairs in the cold to get to the lobby). Comparing to the other one, this breakfast was much nicer, had a bigger variety of choices and more inventory for each item. The pool was indoors and heated and the rooms were more modern and quite comfortable. This hotel is also very close to the west entrance of Yellowstone and conveniently on the main road where all the restaurants and shops are within walking distance.

"Best Western Desert Inn, West Yellowstone, MONTANA"
TERRY R, 07 Juin 2017

Basic hotel with all necessities. It is not a resort but very adequate and comfortable with very friendly staff. food was good. I would stay there again. Very convenient location. Price was reasonable for comparable hotels

"A good place to stay in West Yellowstone."
V M, 06 Juin 2017

Very convenient location. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, and grocery store. Room was quiet and clean, and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was good, lots of variety. The staff was friendly.

"Best Western Cannot Go Wrong"
Yan W, 05 Juin 2017

Remember West Yellowstone is a busy town closest to the park and all the hotels/motels in this town are highly sought after in the right seasons. So you need to manage your expectation sometimes. Having said that, BW Desert Inn does not let it down - all the BW standards are well maintained here. Good size room, comfy beds, indoor pool, standard breakfast, everything are as good as all other BW properties. I am happy with my stay in this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.

"Yellowstone trip"
Heather S, 30 Mai 2017

My husband and I stayed for three nights. Room was very clean and lots of room. People were very friendly. Hot tub and pool were very nice to use after a long day of hiking. Right in the middle of all the shopping and dinning places so you can easily walk.

"Gret Place to Stay To Visit the Park"
noworries2000, 27 Mai 2017

If you are visiting Yellowstone Park, and want a very comfortable stay right near the West entrance, this is the place. Comfortable rooms, good Internet service, helpful staff, plenty of restaurants nearby, great breakfast bar, on-site laundry, and a good AAA rate. You are less than 10 minutes from the park's west entrance - I would gladly stay here again...

"Very good hotel compared to others in west yellowstone area."
Casper113, 27 Mai 2017

A great location, therefore this hotel fills up quickly. Had to park in the dirt, no lines so car next to ours scratched the side of vehicle. Also, car in parking lot had been broken into, not a good advertisement. The lobby area is very welcoming, great decor! and very clean. Front desk staff seemed helpful. Places nearby to eat. The room was very clean, my wife loved the fact they had a long length mirror on the closet, iron etc. Negative part of the room was no air ventalaitioin system in the bathroom . Also, do not expect to get on the internet as very poor connection, after took 20 minuties to get on the connection only lasted a couple of minuties. Breakfast area had good food but very crowded. Wife had to get mine as no way could i get through in wheelchair. Hard to get luggage cart in elevator, we ended up putting luggage on my lap to get upstairs. Swimming pool they had the hose in cleaning it out but the Hot tub was fantastic, so relaxing.

"Comfortable stay."
Theresa S, 26 Mai 2017

This hotel was a lovely place to spend a relaxing evening after a long days drive. Front desk was welcoming and the rooms were a nice size and clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this great hotel to anyone.

"Exceptional Service and Excellent Breakfast Bar!"
brendarM7629FZ, 24 Mai 2017

All employees were outstanding and very helpful!! The breakfast bar was just fabulous!! SO many choices to choose from ... I have never seen anything like this bar before...just fabulous!!! the rooms were neat and clean.. love the bed, so comfortable. The sheets, pillows and towels smelled fresh! Very pleased with everything!!!

"Good place to start our Yellowstone visit,"
rrrep, 23 Mai 2017

Room was good. Breakfast was bigger than expected. Parking was a little tight. Within a short walk of down town attractions. It had a pool. elevator may need a little work because of some noises when getting to the top floor.

"Great Hotel"
jillybeans42, 19 Mai 2017

We had a nice stay at this hotel. The price was reasonable. Great customer service. The room was very clean. There was a comfortable bed. There was hot water for our showers. It was quiet with no loud noises in the hallways. Very good breakfast with a wide variety of choices.

"Stayed at during visit to Yellowstone Park"
Victor F, 19 Mai 2017

Located just outside the western gate to Yellowstone Park. Staff was very helpful and friendly, suggesting restaurants to visit for dinner. Our room was comfortable and clean, along with beds very comfortable. This town is very interesting with numerous shops. Spent early evening walking around the town. Hotel in in the heart of town. Laundry service is available for guests. Good hotel for a reasonable cost, being 5 minutes from the west gate of the park.

"Clean and pleasant place to stay"
jhrubin, 18 Mai 2017

Typical of a Best Western. Clean and pleasant. Nice bed and shower. Excellent hot and cold complimentary breakfast in the AM. Bigger selection than I am used to. Located on the main Street in town and easy to get to the Yellowstone National Park entrance .

"West Yellowstone Comfort"
Katherine M, 17 Mai 2017

If you are visiting Yellowstone NP and either can't get a reservation for park lodging or don't want to pay premium prices to stay in the park itself stay at West Yellowstone at the BW Desert Inn instead. It's only 14 miles from the Madison entrance and the road is full of wildlife. They have a lovely pool and hot tub, great breakfast, spotless, quiet rooms, a very pleasant staff and 24 hour laundry facility. The beds were comfy and the double queen room nicely sized. There is plenty of parking and the hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and some activities.

"Cozy Little West Yellowstone Stop"
bhrufener, 10 Mai 2017

I want to give a massive shout-out to the guys running the breakfast buffet. They had their hands full, but ALWAYS stopped to smile when guests needed anything. I couldn't believe the level of service they were giving!! The Front Desk staff at this location are TOP notch, truly stellar. When I needed coffee at 10pm (in West Yellowstone, King of Closing-Everything-At-9pm), the front desk staff member not only helped me find a little spot I could get it, but also offered the free 24-hour-coffee bar. Amazingly helpful. Also, the Housekeeping staff. I think I might have a crush on those guys! I'm no perfectionist or stickler for clean, but really, this was the CLEANEST, nicest smelling room I've ever stayed in (and we've stayed at 5-star rooms in NY & overseas!!) Seriously fabulous service guys!

"Great location"
Sue0814, 10 Mai 2017

We enjoyed our stay. Service provided by front desk staff was excellent. The location was great, close to most activities. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was also above average, serving a hot breakfast daily.

"Ticked the boxes, nothing more or less"
Gulliver_2004, 27 Avril 2017

The hotel is what I think you'd expect for the price, location and brand so it is fine. Just a basic travel lodge. We booked a room for two and got a ground floor room with two beds. It had a bathroom and fridge, some free coffee etc. Breakfast is free from about 6-10am. The breakfast was basic and again as you'd expect, various sugary cereals, bagels, long-lasting packaged pastries, and some Scrambled egg, sausage etc. Parking was free outside, but if you arrive too late the car park is too full and you can't find a park. We weren't even there in busy season (just 2 days after Yellowstone west entrance opened): The hotel also has a pool and hot tub but we didn't use it. It looked pleasant enough through the huge windows from reception. My only complaint would be that the walls/floors seem to be very thin. We could hear the person walking around his room above us all the time, waking us up even.

"Great stay"
CElasvegad, 17 Avril 2017

Great stay. Very dog friendly! Kids went in the indoor pool everyday. It is in walking distance to everything. Breakfast was good lots of selections. All employees were friendly and kept the hotel very clean.

"A favorite in West Yellowstone"
Nancy W, 15 Avril 2017

This is an older hotel but that means you have larger rooms and quietude. We stay here often, and appreciate it for its great value, good beds and downtown location with little traffic noise. The only drawback this year was unexpected long lines at breakfast and not enough seating.

"Comfortable Convenient and Friendly"
Faye H, 14 Avril 2017

There are restaurants shops Yellowstone NP visitor center just around the corners. Groceries food outdoor gears are very accessible. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly... we got wonderful advice for spots to visit on our way back to Salt Lake City. Recommend it to travelers coming to Yellowstone from the west.

"Winter Visit to Yellowstone"
CathyGeorgia, 13 Mars 2017

We stayed here for 4 nights while renting snowmobiles from Two Top Snowmobiles. It was your normal average hotel...nothing fancy, but very clean. All the rooms have been updated and it has restaurants and shops nearby. We went to the Slippery Otter the first night, but preferred eating at Bullwinkle's after eating there the second night. The morning breakfast had plenty of food options such as eggs, bacon/sausage, biscuits, gravy, French toast, yogurt, fruit, etc.

"Snowmobile trip"
jacobbA7223KU, 13 Mars 2017

Good hotel, nice rooms, good breakfast with lots of choices for the family. Overall excellent value. The only challenge was parking with a big truck and trailer which can be a problem anywhere in town with all the snow piles.

"If you left breakfast hungry, you're way too picky"
Diane M, 28 Février 2017

This was part of the Two Top Snowmobiling package. Everything was arranged. The hotel is quite nice. The breakfast was not the standard complementary one. It was a complete breakfast. If you could not find something to eat, you are way too picky. It was great for starting the day snowmobiling.

"Stop over to Yellowstone park "
Chloeh114, 27 Février 2017

We stay here the night before heading in to Yellowstone park. During this time of year the only way to go into the park is by snow coach or snowmobile . Since we were staying in the park a few nights , snow coach was our route. This was a typical bestwestern , nothing special. The rooms were clean . There was coffee , tea hot choc etc in the dining area available 24/7. There was a free breakfast which again your typical one. Nothing great. Yogurt, apples , scramble eggs , oatmeal packets , toast etc.. The parking lot was not plowed very well and very crowded. The front desk people were ok again nothing special. They answered your questions etc...

"Great place"
sd1215, 27 Février 2017

I stayed here one night after staying at the Best Western Mammoth in Gardiner. This Best Western blows the doors off the Mammoth/Gardiner one. Fifty bucks less a night. Nice clean and modern room. And a great breakfast with, eggs, bacon, sausage, the works. All fresh and nicely displayed. Also a nice selection of fruit and packaged items. They could show the owners of the Mammoth hotel a thing or two. I will spend more time at this hotel when I pass through.

"Great base for exploring Yellowstone NP"
eran4s, 11 Novembre 2016

I stayed for 4 nights while exploring Yellowstone NP and found this hotel a great choice. West Yellowstone is right next door to the park entrance and there is a park information centre at the entrance so location wise it is perfect. The hotel is very friendly, clean and offers great breakfast selection. I found the room to be very spacious and I loved the microwave and fridge which enabled eating in. The only minuses are slow wifi, noisy A/C and the tiny breakfast sitting area which was very busy even now off season.

"Very Nice Stay"
Lynn T, 08 Novembre 2016

This is one of the few hotels that remains open during the off season. It was nice, well maintained, and comfortable. The pool was well kept and the hot tub was a welcome amenity after hiking all day.

"Nice Hotel in West Yellowstone"
Liz T, 06 Novembre 2016

Hotel is very clean and staff was very friendly. Our room had two queen beds, microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. The hotel is walking distance to a number of restaurants on the Main Street of town. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would stay there again. Even though we were there in the "off season," the hotel was full the night we stayed. The staff was very busy, but friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included. There was hot food (scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage) as well as the typical cereal/yogurt/bread, donuts, etc. Since the hotel was full, seating for breakfast was challenging. There were lots of folks waiting for tables while holding plates of food. The staff did however, do a great job of keeping all the food stocked throughout this rush of people.

"Complement to have a good trip"
rosa7503, 04 Novembre 2016

Perfect location to stay when going to Yellowstone national park, only minutes from west entrance, price was cheaper than others hotels. Man at the front desk was very nice and helpful, I been in many other hotels that offered free breakfast but this's the best hot breakfast with a lot of options. Indoor pool and jacuzzi was nice too especially after a long day at the park. My family and enjoy staying at this hotel.

"Clean and close to park"
Daniel K, 03 Novembre 2016

Our room was very close to elevator, pool and breakfast area, but we still felt like it was quiet enough to be comfortable. The breakfast area was so clean and there were many choices. The desk clerk gave very good restaurant suggestions along with a map. We were able to walk to most of the restaurants. The room was clean and quite large with a comfy chair for watching t.v., desk for using electronics and wide-screen television.

"Very convenient to Yellowstone west gate"
alandra, 01 Novembre 2016

I have found that Best Western motels in the west are always so much better than the ones back east. This motel did not disappoint us. Very clean, nicely furnished, good breakfast and friendly personnel. After touring the park during the day we would go back to town where we had multiple choices for dinner and shopping all within walking distance of the motel. We spent four nights there and at Yellowstone park that was not too many nights.

"Conveniently located/Great service"
Jane L, 31 Octobre 2016

If you want to be close to the west entrance of Yellowstone, this is the place to stay. It's less than a mile to the entrance. The staff is friendly, the beds are comfortable, the rooms and property are clean and the breakfast is excellent. You are also within walking distance to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, grocery store and restaurants. If anyone complains about the breakfast, there's something wrong with them. There was cold cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, english muffins, yogurt, scrambled eggs (sometimes omeletes), bacon, both sausage patties & links, biscuits and gravy, french toast, fresh fruit and pastries. To drink, they had milk (including almond milk), tea, coffee, apple juice and orange juice. There's a microwave and refrigerator in the room, so we bought water, food and snacks so we could pack lunches for when we were driving through the park. My only complaints would be that the pillows were not the most comfortable and the water pressure in the shower wasn't the best. When we first arrived, the hot and cold water in the sink were switched, but we left a note in the morning and when we returned to the room in the evening it was already fixed. Overall, it was a very good experience and I would stay here again.

"Great Stay"
Connie V, 30 Octobre 2016

This hotel lived up to everything promised, plus they were able to give us a last minute reservation while traveling with our dog! Great location, just outside the West Entrance to Yellowstone! Wished they would have served a breakfast, but no big deal. Went to McDonalds for a quick bite!

"One of the best experiences we have had"
Kelly H, 29 Octobre 2016

The Best Western Desert Inn exceeded our expectations. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and tidy and we slept great. We had everything we needed while we were there. Their indoor swimming pool looked very clean and many people used it, but we did not take advantage of the pool during our stay. I can't say enough good things about their breakfast. There was a great variety of food each morning and it was fresh, appealing, and very tasty. We enjoyed their scrambled eggs and bacon, as well as their biscuits and gravy, but they also had sausage, french toast, pastries, bagels, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, milk, etc. We usually go out to eat for breakfast, but there was no need while staying at this hotel. We had a wonderful experience at the Best Western Desert Inn and will definitely be back. We will also recommend it to our family and friends.

"Nice hotel lacking in customer service. "
Ambie8386, 26 Octobre 2016

The hotel itself was great. Clean rooms, nice pool, decent breakfast. However when we made our reservation we told them we had two dogs. No problem but an additional charge. No big deal. We get there at 930 at night tired from an eleven hour drive and Jeffrey at the desk had no idea we had dogs with us. He said he'd have to assign us a different room. We wait and he said he doesn't have any other rooms. Okay so now what? My husband told them ahead of time we have dogs and why are there certain rooms only for pets? He said we can keep our same room but we can not allow our dogs on the beds. If they find a lot of dog hair on the furniture we will be charged a 300 dollar cleaning fee! I was so angry. My dogs are bed sleepers so the whole night we had to keep correcting them to stay off the bed. Not a restful sleep. I also witnessed a man asking Jeffrey about a local place to eat. Jeffrey told him what kind of food was at the connected restaurant (pizza and burgers). He asked what time McDonald's closes which is just up the street. Jeffrey says I don't know, probably ten at the latest? You work for this hotel and you can't give your guests info on restaurants near by? I didn't care for the customer service but again the hotel itself was nice, clean and comfortable.

"good experience"
Tom J, 23 Octobre 2016

The room is quite spacious and nice. It appeared clean except in the corner by the light and chair where the vacuum had not cleaned it looked like for many days. The breakfast in the morning was fine and there appeared to be enough room for everyone that gathered.

"Fantastic, value-for-money hotel with GOOD sized rooms"
TrueSandiegan, 20 Octobre 2016

Really enjoyed our one-night stay here during our visit to Yellowstone in early October 2016. + Very reasonably priced, compared to all the pricey options inside the park. And it's awfully close to the west gate of the park, so as good as being inside it :) + Comfortable and GOOD sized rooms. We've stayed in holiday Inns and Marriotts in the same trip and felt this hotel had much better rooms and for much cheaper. Definitely one of the better Best Western's we've been to recently + Nice and friendly staff at the reception and on call. The check-in process was a breeze + I liked the pantry arrangement which we could use even in the night to get some juice, coffee or simply hot milk. Thank you so much for keeping some plastic cutlery and paper plates for the guests (we packed some food with us as we drove around the park in the day time and used these in our meals and snacks) + They've got a cute little heated indoor pool which we'd have loved to use if we had more time there. The only negative I found was that the breakfast spread was limited (and too many sugary items :)). But this is a minor point compared to the rest of the stuff. Do pre-book the place if you decide to stay there. especially if your trip includes a weekend. We stayed on a Sat night pretty much towards the end of the season and when we were checking in, they were all sold out, for both Sat and Sun. So unfortunately we couldn't extend our stay even though we wanted to.

"Clean and Comfortable"
Hiker_mom29, 20 Octobre 2016

I was glad I made a reservation for this hotel. We drove up on a Saturday night in October to find a no vacancy sign hung in the window. This was a pretty standard hotel. We had a two queen room that was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and had something for everyone. We had a good 2 night stay close to Yellowstone Park.

"Great place to stay"
Jamie E, 20 Octobre 2016

During the trip I had to make on family business driving cross country we decided to go through Yellowstone for a fun day. We were lucky enough to get the last room here. Again Best Western at it's best -Top notch in cleanliness, service, breakfast, comfort...etc. We got in about 1am and the desk clerk, Logan, was very helpful and friendly. While my Fiance was parking our truck and trailer he let me know about some great places to visit there and some of the wild life happenings. Morning staff was also very pleasant and great breakfast variety and quality. It does get a little tight in the dining room with all those people and if you have larger vehicles to park you're likely to end up in the bumpy dirt lot - but really should be nothing to deter you. Lobby was comfortable and cozy. I would stay again with no hesitation.

"Very good hotel although a bit expensive"
Mark H, 19 Octobre 2016

Nice hotel in Main Street. Indoor pool, large rooms with good air Cond, first really quite one! The next breakfast we have had at any of the 20 hotels we have stayed in this trip. Location is easy to find and right next door is a good restaurant. Price was the most we have ever paid on this trip but it is a very good hotel. Would stay here again

"Clean, comfortable room"
Mary W, 17 Octobre 2016

Double queen room on 3rd floor. Comfortable beds. Good towels. Plenty of hot water and pressure. Refrigerator, microwave, and flat screen in room. Indoor pool and hot tub. Convenient to West Yellowstone entrance.

"Surprisingly nice!"
Jjkml, 17 Octobre 2016

Spacious rooms and very quiet, although in this area most folks get up early to get to the park.Breakfast had plenty of options and included in price. This is a popular stop for bus tour groups so it can be crowded at breakfast but there was plenty for all. No real lounge area to hang out but you're within walking distance to a few restaurants & shops. We don't usually use hotel pools but this indoor pool looked a bit dated & the water was very cloudy. Again just hit the park you're so close we spent every waking minute there. We would stay here again in future visits, great value for the price , can't beat the location !

"Clean, quiet and good breakfast"
MtKathy, 16 Octobre 2016

We stayed here in fall towards the end of the season for Yellowstone. The hotel was full. I was surprised at breakfast how many children were there and how quiet the night had been. The breakfast included eggs and sausage plus lots of bagels yogurt fruit and cereal. It was located by several good restaurants. The pool and hot tub were nice at the end of a day of walking.

"Excellent Room - Terrible Service"
Nicole H, 15 Octobre 2016

I was extremely dissatisfied with the front desk, after being charged for my sister's room, and then told it would be reversed, I found the next morning that the charge remained. After speaking to the front desk and pointing out that it seemed that I was still being charged for both rooms and would need it taken care of immediately since I would need money for the rest of my travels, they said that it was an issue with the bank (who was closed) and that it could take 3 to 7 days to resolve. The day after I checked out I found that my charges had grown from $503 pending to $869. Apparently I was correct and I was wrongly charged for both my room and my sister's (who had stayed an extra day). Though it was rectified by my husband who called the bank and hotel as soon as we arrived home, the stress caused by this was extremely difficult. My family had decided to spend a few days in Yellowstone, our family's favorite place, following the burial of my mother in Idaho the day before. A trip to both honor her memory and enjoy her favorite place on the planet, was fraught with stress and anxiety. Not only that, the stress of having a negative account from the charges added to my anxiety immensely. So in order to give this hotel a stronger recommendation I'd recommend retraining the front desk to be more sensitive to their customers and to offer to help rectify mistakes that they make, instead of laying all of the burden at the foot of the customer. The front desk were so incredibly unprofessional, especially the two gentlemen working the morning of October 12th. I loved the room itself, especially its excellent value. The breakfast was amazing. But the stress certainly sullied my experience at the hotel.

"Okay, but expensive"
Z1695KAdavidt, 13 Octobre 2016

The hotel was in a great location for entering the West entrance of Yellowstone. The price was a little high when one of the reasons we picked this hotel was for the breakfast and it was so crowded we were unable to even get into the dining area. The dining area and all of the lobby was full of people and we went at the out season (first week of October).

"No consideration for our comfort. "
Cara B, 12 Octobre 2016

In the middle of the night I noticed the broken window and when I called the front desk they told me they couldn't help me and they couldn't moove us we didn't have a choice. We had to listen to the barking dog all night. They didn't offer any assistance or to comp our room. They were unfortunately unpleasant about the whole thing.

"Nice rooms"
Barbara K, 10 Octobre 2016

Rooms are very nice and clean. For the most part quite. Free breakfast was mediocre. But certainly palatable if you're on a budget and in a hurry. Super busy so definitely need reservations when traveling to Yellowstone.

"Extremely quite and very clean rooms"
fknight636, 09 Octobre 2016

We stayed four nights in an oversized two queen room on the third floor next to the elevator. The room was oversized but the space seemed poorly arranged with a large open area between the beds and furniture containing the TV, fridge and microwave. The vending and ice machines are adjacent to the elevator but we were never bothered by noise in spite of the hotel being sold out during our entire stay. The room was clean and in very good condition. TV channels are limited and don't included CNBC but Bloomberg is available. Internet speed is fairly slow with 2 to 3 mbps downloads. Breakfast options are good with a variety of hot and cold items. Room rates seem a little high for late in the season but the hotel was full. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk didn't have any bear spray to loan guests; it could be a liability issue. If you want to buy bear spray the Eagle store, two blocks from the hotel, sells it for $45 but their brochure in the hotel lobby has coupons for $10 off bear spray and discounts on gasoline.

"Nice spacious room"
NHethel, 05 Octobre 2016

Helpful front desk staff. Comfortable beds in a large room. In town location that you can easily walk to shops and restaurants from. Five minutes from the western entrance to Yellowstone. Handy location.

"Close to Yellowstone."
travelsalot8A, 04 Octobre 2016

This hotel is in a great location, 3 miles to the entrance to Yellowstone and right off the Main Street, convenient walking to all restaurants and stores. Very large nice rooms and good breakfast including both hot and cold foods.

"Stay near Yellowstone National Park"
Ann K, 03 Octobre 2016

We were looking for a reasonable place to stay near Yellowstone National Park and decided on the Best Western. We were not disappointed. The hotel staff were friendly and the room was clean. The breakfast area was very nice with the many selections to please everyone. They do allow dogs in some rooms so if you have allergies or just don't feel comfortable with the fact a dog was in the room make sure you ask for rooms were pets are not allowed. I encountered this at several Best Westerns while on our trip and had never thought about asking for a pet free room but will definitely keep that in mind going forward. This hotel is very close and is an easy drive to the park. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

"welcome to Yellowstone"
Guadalupe R, 03 Octobre 2016

All in all, for the price of the room, the motel was very good, very clean, staff was very friendly, the two gentlemen that took care of the dining area were very helpful and kept the area clean and orderly and well stocked for breakfast. Our room was very nice, top floor away from noise, clean and well kept. As mentioned, price was a bit high, but I would guess with location, its the going rate.

"Above-average BW near Yellowstone"
slsiege, 02 Octobre 2016

Unless you're willing/able to get a reservation at Old Faithful Inn (and pay for it), you'll probably want to book your hotel in West Yellowstone, which is relatively close to Yellowstone's center. Everything in this town is pricey; this Best Western offers decent value by comparison. Rooms are sizable and comfortable, bathroom lighting is good, Wi-Fi works OK (though you have to return to Settings often), and you get the expected amenities. The indoor pool is nice to return to after a long day of sightseeing. Breakfast is slightly above average, though finding a table at, say, 8 AM may be a challenge. The parking lot can fill up quickly in the early evening as well. Fortunately, nearly all the restaurants are within walking distance, as is the visitor center. In fact, two quick left turns out of the parking lot and you're in Yellowstone National Park. Service is efficient and the staff aims to please. I'd go again, even at these elevated prices.

"Dog friendly but no dog area"
Julie R, 01 Octobre 2016

Room is dog friendly, but hotel had now grass area to walk the dog. Part of parking lot is gravel. Very expensive for quality of the room. What is up, with small square bed pillows? Plus is that it is located right outside Yellowstone and walking distance to restaurants and shops.

"Great Hotel"
Leigh P, 01 Octobre 2016

Clearly this is a town thriving on its proximity to Yellowstone. Nevertheless the room was comfortable and clean. Good bed, good facilities and a very good complimentary breakfast. Hotel also caters for coach parties which puts some pressure on the breakfast facilities - but hey, we're all tourists!

"Decent Place to Stay While Visiting Yellowstone"
DenverLisa, 30 Septembre 2016

On our first trip to Yellowstone, we spent three nights at the Desert Inn. The location is great: minutes outside the west gate of the park. Our room was fine, but basic. It seemed clean. They have a free breakfast each morning. They have put some effort into the breakfast.

"An Incredible Breakfast"
urbanguy, 30 Septembre 2016

For one night, we stayed in a very nice-sized 2-queen room. The beds were very comfortable. The sink was outside the bathroom, which made the latter pretty spacious. The shower was very good, with an easily adjustable head. There was a refrigerator, microwave, iron, and ironing board. The spread at breakfast was phenomenal: two kinds of sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, French toast, and everything else you would expect. There is a large indoor pool and hot tub. Unlike most hotel chains these days, there was no complimentary morning paper (considering the price charged for a night's lodging, pretty cheap!).

"Right in downtown West Yellowstone!"
ZumaDawg, 30 Septembre 2016

Prices for hotels in this town are expensive, but this Best Western was on the lower end of this scale. The place was clean, the rooms comfortable and quiet. You are right on the Main Street, so it is an easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Free outdoor parking, nice lobby and complimentary hot breakfast was about average for Best Western.

"Ideal location, Comfortable Hotel"
Tony F, 27 Septembre 2016

We stayed here for 6 nights whilst visiting Yellowstone NP. The hotel is really close to the West Entrance to the park, making it a great place to stay. The room we had was really large, two Queen beds, sofa, table and a kitchen area - really too much as we were spending all our time in Yellowstone and only using the hotel to sleep at nights. That said, it was a really comfortable room and the whole hotel was at a good standard. The breakfast had lots of choices for both continental and cooked. The only criticism would be that at times it could get very busy and the breakfast room could do with being a little bigger to accommodate everyone. The hotel was full on every day of our visit so we experienced a busy breakfast room each day, although we always got what we wanted to eat as there was plenty to go around. There is free parking around the hotel and we never struggled to get parked. Within a short walk there are a few places to eat and drink in the evenings. The Slippery Otter next door is a great place with a large range of beers and excellent food, we ate there on a couple of the nights. Another fairly close place was The Three Bears which offered a help-yourself salad bar to go with your meal. We would be more than happy to stay here again when visiting Yellowstone.

"Location...Location...Location"
TripleLily, 26 Septembre 2016

You can't beat the location if you're trying to see Yellowstone on the clock. The room is average and the hotel is dated. However, it was clean and offered parking. We arrived late in the day and nearly everything was closed but fortunately you could walk to a small nearby store to pick up a little food.

"I'd definitely stay here again"
D H, 25 Septembre 2016

This is the best place I've stayed so far in W. Yellowstone. The hotel was updated, clean and quiet. The breakfast was much better than other hotels' breakfasts. The scrambled eggs were real and they had French toast. The only downside was that the beds were really hard, but this seems to be the general course for W. Yellowstone lodging. They also had laundry facilities which was a plus.

"Hotel obviously aware that they have a unique position near Yellowstone to try too hard."
Sue T, 21 Septembre 2016

Indifferent welcome and departure. Room comfortable but rather dark. Free breakfast the usual dried scrambled eggs and greasy sausage and bacon, with fruit, cereals etc. Good restaurants nearby. Very close to entrance to Yellowstone Park.

"Great Location!"
G9397STpats, 18 Septembre 2016

We had a great stay - the BestWestern Desert Inn was just down the street from the turn to access Yellowstone. It had lots of parking and was right downtown so we were close to many restaurants and stores for shopping. Although the hotel had some age it was decorated nicely and well maintained. The hotel had a big indoor swimming pool and hot tub area. Our room was very spacious and beds comfortable. The room was very well maintained by the housekeeping staff - polished and clean. The breakfast room was well stocked and food delicious. Best of all - there was always hot coffee available - no matter the time of day.

"Yellowstone Visit"
tomhY7342VA, 18 Septembre 2016

I am not a demanding person when it comes to lodging. Mindful of water conservation in today's drought conditions, it is important that a hotel provide instant hot water. The Best Western Desert Inn is the best by far of any hotel/motel we've ever stayed in. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Bravo to your courteous staff who made our stay wonderful...

"This is probably the best place to stay in West Yellowstone"
Patricia H, 16 Septembre 2016

The hotel is clean and has a well-appointed lobby. We had a comfortable, quiet room. The hotel provides a nice complimentary breakfast. breakfast. There is easy access and plenty of parking. The hotel is a short walking distance from all the shops and restaurants.

"Nice sized room but not many services"
georwc, 15 Septembre 2016

Booked here because the tour group selected it. Close to downtown & restaurants. Room was nice and spacious. Loud in room heater. Has laundry facilities. No gift shop or snack shop. Very small room for breakfast and small selection of food for breakfast buffet. Horrible coffee! Staff doesn't answer the phone- had trouble calling them before we arrived there and when I called the front desk for wake up calls and information.

"Lovely and Convenient"
Twinkle M, 15 Septembre 2016

Growing up staying in very primitive surroundings AS A KID has made me appreciate the ultimate luxury of this Inn. The decor is appropriate for the area complete with my favorite moose and bear. The continental breakfast is complete and delicious. The staff pleasant and very helpful. I prefer to stay in West Yellowstone and then travel in and out of Yellowstone Park, and this is the perfect location. I highly urge you to give them a chance- you won't regret it!!!

"Nice, Quiet Hotel"
George H, 15 Septembre 2016

This is a very nice hotel. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a comfortable, quiet place to stay. The location is convenient. The breakfast offering was more substantial than most "free" breakfast offered elsewhere.

"Comfort & Convenience"
Michael S, 15 Septembre 2016

The front desk staff are friendly and efficient, our room was clean, quiet, and roomy with comfortable beds. Nice breakfast choices and an easy stroll to really quite good dinner options. (Cafe Madrid & Madison restaurant)

"expensive but nice"
Nicole S, 14 Septembre 2016

So you're paying for yellowstone here and I understand that. It's a nice hotel with everything you need and the breakfast was good. It's just a little pricey for a BW. I would say it's a 3.5, the staff was nice the room was clean, overall it was fine but I've paid the same for much more and I've paid less for this level of accomodations.

"Comfortable and quiet"
Melanie Q, 13 Septembre 2016

The room was good, bed was good, plenty of pillows, pet friendly. Breakfast was extensive and expansive. The only downside was, as I was soaking in the tub after my husband stepped out, I heard a knock on the door and then a key card sliding in. Thinking my husband had forgotten something, I said "babe, is that you" as the door opened. No response. I heard the door shut. I called out "hello?" No answer. Dripping wet, I grabbed my razor and my hot cup of coffee and stepped out of the bathroom. No one was there but housekeeping was in the hallway. They should have announced themselves when they knocked or at least given me time to get to the door before they entered. It was three hours before checkout and we hadn't checked out, obviously....not cool!!!

"the hotel is just okay"
Clyde H, 11 Septembre 2016

the hotel is old and needs remodeling. Much to expensive for the room. The lobby is very small and hard to get around when several people are trying to check in. The breakfast is good but the sitting area is very small. There is only one elevator to service several floors and it is very slow. The location is good in that it is in West Yellowstone and close to several eating facilities.

"Super convenient"
babachico, 07 Septembre 2016

Best Western Desert Inn is located on the main drag of West Yellowstone. It is within walking distance of all the restaurants and shops and within a five-minute drive from the entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It is a very good base for our adventures in the park. We stayed in a room with two queen beds for two nights. The room was spacious and clean. The front desk people are friendly. They offer uber useful advice on the best eats in town, The breakfast/kitchen area was a tad cramped, especially when they have a bus load of people trying to grab a bite before they leave. Other than that, I recommend the Desert Inn, as it is your typical Best Western. I have no biases here. :-)

"Comfortable, Great Accss to YNP"
George H, 06 Septembre 2016

Our room was spacious and comfortable. During our two-night stay, the motel proved to be quite quiet. Several eateries and pubs are close by and the West entrance to thYNP is about a four minute drive. The "complimentary" breakfast was above average with an ample selection of offerings. Any of the staff members we spoke with were friendly. Given that the hotel was packed (as were its neighboring motels), I think the staff did well with respect to handling the full house. The hotel does have a "no pet" rule, but I overheard the front desk manager help travelers with pets find nearby accomodations. The room rates were relatively high, but we were staying there on a holiday weekend at the tail end of peak season.

"Ok, but not great."
Sharon S, 04 Septembre 2016

The staff is the main problem. If you have a complaint about your room, keep it to yourself. The manager is not pleasant but rude and will not be helpful in solving your problem. Rooms are adequate but not great.

"Good Location with Spacious Rooms"
TajanderStAlbert, 03 Septembre 2016

As this motel is right on the main street in central West Yellowstone it is easy to walk to many eating establishments and the various shopping opportunities. Only five minutes or so from the Park Gates and an easy 30-40 minute drive to Old Faithful and all the other superb geological displays that Yellowstone has to offer. We enjoyed the spacious room, clean facilities, comfortable bed, and solid WiFi connections. Many other guests made use of the relatively large pool area and on-floor laundry facilities. The Desert Inn is also adjacent to the Slippery Otter Pub & Grill which has an excellent craft beer selection and decent food. We also enjoyed the recommended Wild West Pizzeria <#2 on TA> just a block away. As with most accommodations in West Yellowstone this is an expensive place to stay - with taxes our two nights came in close to $700 Can. This was the price to be paid for convenience however and were aware in advance. We found the breakfast to be 'okay' but nothing to get excited about. Certainly didn't like the 9:00 AM deadline for eating even though noticed others still partaking after 9:30. The motel served our purposes as thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Yellowstone. Might shop around for better value, however, if back in the area.

"Great breakfast!!!"
jennifer217412, 01 Septembre 2016

The breakfast was really good. Lots of variety! They even have individually wrapped pastries which you can take with you for later. We only stayed here one night as the rest of our stay was at ynp. Good location. Near shops and restaurants. Pricey for what you get but breakfast makes up for it!

"Nice place to spend some time"
Tracy N, 27 Août 2016

West Yellowstone is a cute little tourist town and the Best Western Desert Inn is right in the heart of it. it was very convenient to walk where ever we wanted. My son and I got a good night's sleep. I'd stay there again.

"Convenient Hotel to Yellowstone National Park"
twobacks, 26 Août 2016

I stayed at this hotel while touring Yellowstone National Park. It is about 1/2 mile to the west entrance to the park. This hotel is within walking distance to restaurants. I had a very nice room that was quiet. I got a good night's sleep every night during my stay at this hotel. The free breakfast every morning was good.

"Good Place to Stay by Yellowstone"
Bruce L, 26 Août 2016

Place was nice but price was high. Good location with lots of restaurants close by. Only a mile from West entrance of Yellowstone. Unfortunately, all the hotels close to Yellowstone charge more then the same hotel in other cities.

"Good location, good hotel"
QuoRock, 22 Août 2016

This hotel is well positioned in West Yellowstone for access to shops and restaurants, and is just outside of the national park boundaries, so good for visiting all that Yellowstone offers. The hotel is clean and the rooms are quiet as the hotel is off set from the road. I've rated it mid range but it is an expensive mid range compared to others elsewhere, presumably because of its location to Yellowstone.

"nice to stay"
683jeans, 21 Août 2016

Very well located hotel. Very quiet. Indoor pool. Without taking the car, you can go in the street or there are many restaurants and souvenir shops. Nice and clean place. Friendly staff. Breakfast was continental and well served waffles. Large car park.

"Breakfast is stressful"
Niki W, 16 Août 2016

Really struggled on this road trip to find sufficient lodgings while seeing Yellowstone park and meant we paid a huge amount for this one as its very close to the west entrance. 198gbp for one night months in advance is a lot! In saying that, location was great. Parking free. Room nice and spacious. (Would have liked a bathtub but we were allocated a wheelchair access room so was effectively a wet room instead.) Check in was quick and friendly. (We checked in about 5..after this the car park really filled up!) Bars, eateries etc are close. We ate at the slippery otter which shares the site. (Fab elk and bison burgers) As seems to be normal in these parts of the US, no safe in room. Wifi free but kept logging me out. And then there's breakfast. Nightmare! They stop at 9am which I think is pretty early. We headed down at 8:30 to find no empty tables to sit at and queues in every direction! There is plenty of choice at the many stations but it is so busy and very disorganised. The room is too small, so small some people were eating on sofas in reception and even at patio tables outside. They need to sort this asap. Nice enough place..just expensive! (Btw bars and restaurants seem to close by around 10pm in the area)

"Best Western - Yellowstone"
david l, 06 Août 2016

Consider hotel a tour bus focused operation. Breakfast are plentiful but vending machine quality. Stayed at Best Western at Grand Canyon and had a much better experience. Recommend they serve real breakfast items for price point.

"Great Hotel, Great Location"
D0dge51, 04 Août 2016

This Best Western is an excellent choice for being close to the western entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The staff are really friendly, efficient and the room we had, was huge and accommodated me and my wife and son comfortably. Adequate parking and laundry facilities are available, but only two washing machines and two dryers ( one of each on two floors) in the whole hotel, which is not that good. The breakfast was very good and filling. It was also convenient to the restaurants etc of West Yellowstone. Quite expensive, but for the area a good hotel.

"A Welcome Oasis in a Slightly Tacky Town!"
midwestgirl_1, 04 Août 2016

We had a great stay at Best Western Desert Inn. We stayed in West Yellowstone while visiting the national park near by. It is very conveniently located a short distance from the South Entrance to the park. Our room was very clean and updates. We would definitely stay here again.

"Very good"
H D, 04 Août 2016

Clean, very convenient to Yellowstone park entrance. My first stay at a Best Western. It was fine. Rooms were spacious. The bathroom was clean and in good working order. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was included and adequate. Nothing fancy.

"Great Value"
Cathe S, 03 Août 2016

The location and value of this hotel can't be beat! The entrance to Yellowstone is right around the corner, making it easy to go in and out of the park at various times to avoid peak traffic. There are lots of restaurants and amenities within easy walking distance, including a great grocery store for our daughter with food allergies.

"Just enough for a one night stay. "
cmau3, 02 Août 2016

Stayed at the Best Western Desert Inn for one night was fine on a ride trip across he parks. The rooms were clean and nice. Location is great to walk around town to shop and dine. Breakfast was ok. Recommend for the local right outside Yellowstone National Park!!

"Great Location in the heart of West Yellowstone."
LiveEachDay, 27 Juillet 2016

We loved the location. Easy to walk to most everything. Breakfast was excellent. Way nicer than your typical continental breakfast. Our room was very nice. The only complaint would be that we could here the people walking above us.

"Nice Hotel, Convenient Location, Good Value"
dunadan, 25 Juillet 2016

We've stayed at many Best Westerns in the past several years, and they have become our go-to hotel when traveling to a new place. We know we're going to get a clean, comfortable room, plenty of food to fill us up at the breakfast buffet, friendly service, all at a reasonable price. The Best Western Desert Inn in West Yellowstone did not fail to deliver on all of these points. Our queen/queen room was plenty big for our family of three, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom spotless. No complaints there. Our daughter used the pool, and plain as it was (just a standard rectangle), she begged to go every day. Service at the front desk was friendly, and I'd like to call out one convenient service the hotel provided: a couple of days into our road trip, I realized I'd left the battery charger for my camera at home. Knowing that I would likely be visiting Yellowstone National Park without my main camera, I ordered a replacement battery charger from Amazon while we were staying in Idaho, and had it shipped to the hotel. I called the hotel up to warn them after the fact, and they were glad to accept the package while we were staying with them and hold it for me until I could pick it up. This service saved me a lot of heartache! The breakfast buffet had lots of choices, so whether you like bacon/sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, griddled items, or just juice and yogurt, they've got you covered. My only (minor) complaint about breakfast is the usage of single-use tableware, disposable cups, and individually-wrapped food items. I know it makes cleanup easy, but it would be nice to see Best Westerns adopt some environmentally-friendly practices such as food composting. The hotel's location is in the heart of downtown West Yellowstone, and within walking distance of all of the restaurants, shops, and other tourist attractions in town you would want to use. When we return to the Park, the BW Desert Inn will be at the top of our lodging choices.

"Relax after day in park. "
DonnaG3353, 25 Juillet 2016

Relax here after a long day in the park. Beds were comfortable, room clean, great breakfast. Walk to restaurants & souvenir shops. Had no problem getting table for breakfast. We were little later since we were done in the park. Lot of choices for breakfast. Would stay again.

"West Yellowstone"
SneakyPeteNJ, 25 Juillet 2016

Overall our stay was perfect, location was a key factor in the decision to stay in West Yellowstone and this hotel is about as close to the west entrance to YSNP as you can get. You are able to walk the main drag of West Yellowstone as it is right there. Don't forget to get dinner at the Slippery Otter connected to the front of the hotel, try the Elk Burger, very good. Hotel itself is clean and affordable. Pool was not used by us. Seating for breakfast was a little tight, we ate outside twice. Would stay here again. Our room was very large and spacious oversized 2 queen bed set up, perfect for a family of 5 all under 15 years old.

"good place"
Denarii, 24 Juillet 2016

so everyone is saying this in a good location to see Yellowstone - all hotels in West Yellowstone are good places to do that. This place worked out fine for us. We had a small problem with the room. We had gotten a room on the first floor which we wanted one on the top floor. The management was great make the change the next day and they even moved our bags to the next room. This is a pet friendly place so I believe the rooms on the first floor are for that. You could really smell the pool on the first floor too. The breakfast area was a bit small for the hotel size but it was kept in order during the mad rush of people in the morning. All in all we were happy about the place and as it has been said so many times before - it is a great location to see Yellowstone.

"Good location for visit to Yellowstone"
Relevart72, 17 Juillet 2016

Quiet, clean hotel. Pool was ok. Good variety at breakfast and staff did a good job keeping up with food and cleaning tables. Beds were comfortable but very lumpy pillows. We liked the separate floors for those with and without dogs..

"Very happy with this hotel!"
baseballm0m_3, 15 Juillet 2016

There are many hotels to choose from in West Yellowstone but I'm glad we chose this one. The main selling point for me was the 2 king size beds. Since I have 2 large teenage boys a larger bed was nice and the beds were very comfortable. The location was also great with a couple of excellent restaurants within walking distance (Bullwinkles and Wild West Pizzeria). The free breakfast was very good with hot and cold items available. A nice way to start a busy day in Yellowstone.

"Good location"
Beryl S, 15 Juillet 2016

We stayed here for 2 nights while we were exploring the parks. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet, all you could wish for. The breakfast was the standard fare and the room not too inviting, so we just had coffee and muffin to go.

"Booked a room weeks in advance only to discover they gave it away"
millea11, 14 Juillet 2016

We booked a room weeks in advance. When we arrived well after midnight following a flight delay and foggy drive from Bozeman, we discovered that the hotel had given our room away and there were no more vacancies. To make up for the error, the night clerk promised to find us a room elsewhere in town and cover the cost. After much frantic calling around, he gave us cash out of the register and gave us directions--to the wrong hotel. The hotel did not answer ours calls when we discovered we had been directed to the wrong hotel, but we eventually found another hotel with a vacancy. The next morning we discovered the Best Western Desert Inn charged my credit card without my authorization for the amount of cash that had been thrown at us. We spoke with management and were told the night clerk was not authorized to comp a room elsewhere. Stay away.

"Expensive Night"
amberlower, 11 Juillet 2016

Spent one night here as it was one of the last few places with availability after we had a last -minute change of plans. As a result we paid a bomb for a very ordinary room in a very ordinary property. I usually book 6 months ahead and it hurt to pay but we had no choice- would not have chosen this property if we weren't stuck.

"Nice property"
Dave P, 11 Juillet 2016

First trip to Yellowstone and this was decent hotel to stay at. Good location and quick access to the park. Room was nice and always cleaned well after we toured the park all day. Walking distance to places to eat and shop. Would stay here again.

"Decent value"
Kamen G, 08 Juillet 2016

The hotel was about what you can expect from a Best Western, and the price reflects its strategic location (Yellowstone Park). The one thing that stood out was the excellent breakfast, included in your stay. This is the only free breakfast I've had in any hotel I've ever stayed that was very well maintained (two staffers are continually available to clean tables and restock food), and the food was excellent and with great variety: fresh fried bacon and sausages, and all the standard food but fresh and nicely prepared. Other than that, the city is a little strange, in that all restaurants and stores close by 10PM, so you better plan for dinner, since the hotel does not have a dining facility.

"Decent option in West Yellowstone "
PMPhilly, 05 Juillet 2016

Given YNP accommodation was so hard to get this year due to the centennial we booked 3 nights at this Best Western on the edge of the park. It is centrally located, staff are very nice and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We ended up getting a room in the park for our last night and the Best Western allowed us to check out early with no penalty. They also have free wifi which is nice. West Yellowstone is a nice town with a little history - you can visit the original railway depot as well as dining hall.

"Great location!!"
KathiPortland_Oregon, 04 Juillet 2016

What can I say: it's a Best Western! Clean, comfortable, convenient, spacious, good bathroom and shower: just what you want when you're touring Yellowstone and can't stay inside the park. Parking is convenient and free. The location of the Desert Inn is the best: off the main street and quiet, yet close to restaurants and shops and an easy drive into the park. We reserved a double room with two queen beds--air conditioned, free WiFi, and breakfast included. The breakfast room, strangely, is very small for the number of guests: go early or a little later to get a table. The food was very good, though; there was a good selection. The Desert Inn is a good choice for a visit to Yellowstone!

"Negligence"
Cara B, 03 Juillet 2016

Had issues with the staff. My room had a window that would not shut, so the noise kept us up all night. No room change @ 2 am, did not try to fix the problem window. And still had to pay full price for my room.

"Great hotel close to Yellowstone National Park"
ripcordzz, 03 Juillet 2016

It's a Best Western, so we didn't expect 4-star plus quality. That being said, this was a nice enough hotel. The breakfast area can get crowded, but we never had trouble getting a table for three. Breakfast is continental type, but better than average. The pool was a nice bonus for our 4-year old. It's pricey, but what's not in this area in peak season - it was still cheaper and nicer than park lodging, free breakfast and close to the west park entrance. I'd recommend this hotel and we'd definitely stay there again.

"Great Stay in a perfect location"
Beth K, 03 Juillet 2016

We had a double room with two king beds! Perfect for 2 adults and 2 teen children. The room was spacious and very clean. The front desk service was great at check in and check out and the breakfast was very conplete and had a wide range to items to pick from. Hot and cold.

"Pet lover"
Faye B, 02 Juillet 2016

No designated area for dogs. I had to use the parking lot which was hot during the day. Expensive because of location. Nothing exceptional for that much money. An unfortunate experience with housekeeping being extremely rude to my young man grandson with long hair. Told him he had to get out NOW as he went back to check room Uncalled for to say the least. Left a bad taste

"Traded hotels for this one"
dis051414, 01 Juillet 2016

We had booked a room in a different hotel for our stay. When we got to that hotel, it was awful. We cancelled our reservation and called the Best Western. The lady at the front desk was very accommodating, especially since it was after 8pm and it was a very busy time of year. She was able to get us a great rate for a room with 2 king beds for our 3 night stay in town. The hotel is newer, and is very clean. They have a good breakfast. Everyone was very helpful. Would definitely stay again.

"Great Place to Stay"
Joey V, 29 Juin 2016

After visiting Yellowstone for the whole day, we checked in to the Desert Inn. The front staff was very friendly. They told us the best place to view the fireworks for the 4th of July celebration. The rooms were large and very comfortable. The bathroom was also large. The hotel itself is pretty centrally located and very close to the park. The whole town was excellent. Stay here if you are visiting Yellowstone.

"On the road to Alaska"
Gail R, 28 Juin 2016

Stayed 3 nights. Great room. Wish when we had 5 kids with us we could have had rooms like this. 2 queens, sofa bed, table and 4 chairs. Great room. Did laundry: washers great. Dryer NOT SO great. Would stay here again. Expensive but close to the park, resturants, and little tourist town attractions.

"Great Stay, Great Price for West Yellowstone"
Susan R, 27 Juin 2016

Courteous, friendly staff. Hotel and room were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good for the offering. Booked this hotel at last minute, as we were unsatisfied with our previous hotel in West Yellowstone. The staff was very accommodating. The price for this hotel was around $75 cheaper than the much older, more antiquated hotel was moved from in West Yellowstone.

"Okay hotel"
Michael K, 16 Juin 2016

This was a normal hotel, no problems at all and everything worked fine. I did ask for a late check-out because we had a half marathon race the morning of the check-out and I was hoping to get a shower in after the race. Most hotels seem to give you an hour at least for a later check-out, they gave us 30 more minutes (11am went to 11:30am, saying that was the best they could do). I would look around first for the best price because their are a few hotels in this town.

"Yellowstone Half Marathon and Park"
Sara H, 15 Juin 2016

Loved the convenience of this property. It is close to downtown, Yellowstone Park and was close to the race site. I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of running and/or hiking

"Best Western, West Yellowstone, Montana"
Valdemar N, 13 Juin 2016

I had a very good experience staying at this Hotel. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay at this particular hotel. For that matter I would say that any Best Western Hotel will offer you a good experience. I haven't been disappointed yet.

"Yellowstone lodging"
raymondd717, 13 Juin 2016

Not the Best in town. Too expensive for the location. Close to Yellowstone Park entrance , but very limited amount of restaurants , no Mac Donald or other fast food either. Would not stay here next time.

"Great Location near West Entrance to Yellowstone"
4444Brendah, 12 Juin 2016

Great location. Easy drive into Yellowstone. This hotel had a free hot breakfast. The hotel was nice and quiet. We left the hotel in the morning and didn't return until night so we didn't use the pool or hot tub, but they looked nice. Lots of shops and restaurants close to hotel.

"Desert Inn"
sullympls, 02 Juin 2016

Great stay, met all of our needs for a wonderful vacation! Easiest and closest place to be for entering Yellowstone. Quaint little town with a must see IMAX and plenty of souvenir shopping. We will definitely return to the Best Western for future reservations!

"Good hotel next to west gate of yellowstone"
Pratyush P, 01 Juin 2016

We stayed here for couple of nights. Pros: Location and proximity to Yellowstone west gate. Room size is good. comfortable beds. walking distance to to restaurants and bars. Good breakfast. Cons: Bathroom is very small and can feel cramped Because the pool is indoor we get a strong chlorine smell in the hallways which is annoying. Overall a good experience and i can stay here again

"Real close Yellowstone"
Mary H, 28 Mai 2016

The motel was less then a half mile from Yellowstone west enteance.three stories. I fell the top floor is always the best.Close to restaurant .close to gas stations.there were shops close by.Full free breakfast .

"Quiet with excellent beds"
CoastalTraveler_11, 28 Mai 2016

This hotel was clean and quiet; the staff was friendly and helpful. We were there a few weeks before the season began so the price was very good. Easy walk to restaurants and out for a stroll. Plenty of free parking.

"Great trip"
Bobbi H, 26 Mai 2016

A very good hotel that is very close to Yellowstone National Park in a quaint little town. There is a lot of places to shop and eat that are within walking distance. And don't miss the Grizzly bear and wolf habitat up the street.

"Can't beat the location!"
eyedahoman, 25 Mai 2016

The family stayed here for 4 nights. The location is very good. Close to many of the venues and attractions within the town. Less than a 1/4 mile to the West Yellowstone Park Entrance. The hotel is older but well maintained. The room interiors have been updated with more current finishes. The rooms are very nice sized! The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was standard fare for most moderately priced hotels. The Expedia rate was very affordable for the area. Would stay here again.

"Booked online"
Robert O, 23 Mai 2016

When we arrived at the hotel, we were very pleasantly surprised with the location and appearance of the hotel. Check-in went smooth and the room was very comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was great. Would recommend it to anyone.

"not a bad choice"
Felixg007, 21 Mai 2016

very close (like few mins) to the Western entry to Yellowstone...reasonably clean...all else is average..no elevator so if you have heavy bags ask for 1st floor... if you planned to spend 2 days in the park...we find it more convenient to stay 1st night on west side(Best Western) and 2nd night on the East side...park is HUGE...take like 3-3.5 hours to cross. it...we saved some time/driving by staying on opposite sides...and as you get out on the East side consider going to Cody...nice little town with GREAT museum

"Great place to stay!"
jharrisdc, 15 Mai 2016

We stayed for 2 nights while visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks. The room was comfortable and fairly quiet considering the fact that the hotel was sold out. The hot breakfast was a real treat. All aspects of our stay were top notch.

"another excellent Best Western Stay"
Busqueezo, 14 Mai 2016

We overnighted at the Best Western in W. Yellowstone, Montana, before entering the west entrance of Yellowstone Park on Thursday, May 12. The hotel was full...hmmm, many Chinese travelers...be aware. The breakfast was great but crowded with Chinese - loud - tourists. Overall the hotel was excellent and when compared with the cost of the Old Faithful Inn, you can get two nights at the BW compared to the Inn. And, better everything than the Inn..except the Inn ambiance.

"Good Location "
Marcella101420, 12 Mai 2016

This hotel is just a few minutes from the western gate of Yellowstone Park. We were on the 3rd floor and we stayed there four nights. It was very quiet each night we were there. The room was large which made it more comfortable and the beds were good. The hotel was clean and the breakfast had a large variety of food each morning.

"Great pet room and great value"
bonnief322, 10 Mai 2016

This is a favorite of ours while visiting Yellowstone with our 2 small dogs.... Pets can be walked right along Yellowstone NP outside edge because it is so close to the park. Value is very good also - great breakfast too ;)

"Great hotel"
User, 06 Mai 2016

The hotel was great for our 2 night stay. The room was very clean and modern!! The staff was very nice. The free breakfast was more than enough food. They provided a hot bar that included eggs, sausage, bacon, French toast and biscuits and gravy.

"Rated as a class 2.5 star hotel "
Denver_Dizzy_01, 06 Mai 2016

This is one of the best class 2.5 star hotels I've stayed in. Quiet, clean and the breakfast was filling. Breakfast bar is setup as a buffet style bar. Good all around hotel. Reason for the 4 star rating is that our AC would make loud noises, but after prying and a little pushing some parts, we got it to quiet enough to sleep.

"Yellowstone Road Trip"
Amy B, 29 Avril 2016

We took a spontaneous road trip to Yellow Stone. Didn't plan ahead, just took to the road! Found the Best Western Desert Inn. It was perfect in all aspects. Will definitely make sure it is a planned part of our trip next time! Thanks Best Western!

"Very nice Hotel "
Mckenzie R, 21 Mars 2016

We got an excellent deal on this hotel!!! I was worried about cleanliness and comfort because of the low price we paid. The rooms were clean and spacious, the heater and air conditioner worked well. Pool area was clean The staff was excellent, quick check in, gave good suggestions where to eat and best places to entertain because it was to early to go into the park. All of the staff was helpful and happy.

"One Problem"
Mike W, 20 Mars 2016

Parking was a problem. All of the snowmobile trailers parked in the parking lot which limited the amount of parking spaces for other vehicles. Hotel needs to come up with a plan before next year for alternative parking for snowmobile trailers. Staff was very good and friendly.

"A fine place to lay your head."
Matt W, 18 Mars 2016

A last minute decision found me in West Yellowstone for the evening, without accommodation. So I jumped on TripAdvisor and found this place. The rate was acceptable, the staff was friendly, the room was clean (do take the advice of booking an upper-level room, if possible) the shower was hot and the pillows were soft.

"Cold Pool"
William G, 14 Mars 2016

Hotel was overall the same as all Best westerns. Decent and clean but the cold swimming pool was a major disappointment. We had 4 children that were very excited to swim after spending all day outside in the cold and snow and anyone with kids knows how it is to see your young children disappointed.

"Good motel choice for our Yellowstone snowmobile trip"
Dave's_reviews, 13 Mars 2016

We had a permit to independently snowmobile in Yellowstone and, with the in-Park accommodations closed in early March, we needed a place to stay. This Best Western fit the bill perfectly, because it's only a few blocks from the Park entrance and you are allowed to snowmobile directly to the property. Winter rates were quite reasonable, the rooms are large and modern, and the staff friendly. Since the location is also in "downtown" West Yellowstone, there were plenty of restaurants within a couple blocks of the motel (I recommend Wild West Pizza). The free breakfast features the not-great-quality items often found in American motels, but was much better than average because they provided lots of choices. Like each morning featured eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy and plenty of bread products and (limited) fruit. I'd return.

"Capable lodging"
IIP2, 07 Mars 2016

We stayed at the Desert Inn for 3 nights in February 2016. The hotel is modern and well kept. The reception was prompt and efficient. Our King bed room was much larger than expected. It has a refrigerator and microwave, nice size flat screen TV, desk, couch, coffee table and generous closet and drawer space. The room was at least 50% larger than a standard hotel room. Plenty of hot water in the shower. The only complaint with the room is that we easily heard noise from the guests above us (we were on the 2nd floor of this three story hotel) walking around. The motel has wooden floors and you can hear them creak and squeak when you walk - or worse the people above you walk around. We didn't hear any other noise, so it was tolerable, but it could annoy some guests. The free breakfast buffet was somewhat better than expected. Hot eggs, sausage, bacon and biscuits were served. Also available was cereal, bread, bagels, juice, yogurt and coffee. The parking lot needed plowed when we arrived but it wasn't too bad for our rental car. We did get stuck once in a hole on the second morning there, but some friendly guests help us push our car free. I'm sure the facility has a challenge between keeping the parking lot clear and accommodating the many snowmobiles that drive in. They did plow the lot after a snow on the second night. Location is very convenient to restaurants and pubs in very easy walking distance. Even on a cold night! Overall this was a nice stay, and we would not hesitate to stay here again when we return to West Yellowstone.

"Not cleaned to my expectations"
Robert B, 26 Février 2016

I have stayed here before with no problems. This time was different. When I first came into the room, there was a white rag on the floor. I tossed it off to the side as "it probably just fell off the maid's cart". Later that night, I noticed some girl's clothes on the floor next to the bench. I also noticed something black hanging down from the ceiling. (large black moth or small bat). The refrigerator was also open when I came into the room, with a slight sour smell to it (I didn't mention this part to the front desk). The cleaning staff should be required to take more pride in their work.

"Great Location for XC Skiers"
josephhB5046YR, 18 Février 2016

This property location is excellent for XC skier,: Nordic and Skate skiers, at it is within 2 blocks of the Riverside Ski Trails of Yellowstone National Park. There was also quite a few snowmobile customers staying at this property, so they alspo must believe it is a good location.

"good value and service"
JTinSLC, 17 Février 2016

Not sure and it was winter, but this looked like maybe the best option in town. It was a normal best western with typical conveniences . Very nice staff, large breakfast (could use more healthy choices) only down side was the heater unit runs constantly and a little loudly. Good location

"Vacation"
Joyce G, 11 Février 2016

Very good motel, very helpful staff. Breakfast was very good. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We were there to enjoy the winter in Yellowstone National Park via Snow coach. I enjoyed being able to come into the lobby (breakfast area ) and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate after a day ion the park. Or anytime other time we wanted some.

"Great XC skiing weekend"
Patti S, 08 Février 2016

Spent 3 night at the BW it was comfortable and quite for as busy as it was with the snowmobiles. We had brought our Doodles with us and had requested bottom floor close to a door. But nothing available when we got there so we're up stair, turned out not to be a problem. Hot breakfast (no Waffles) but lots to choose from. Convenient right down town.

"Great new nenovation"
Suan C, 06 Février 2016

Love the new design of the contemporary and comfortable look & feel of the rooms. Half of the hotel was still under renovation - but love the direction. It was my most comfortable hotel stay of three different hotels on my business trip - had my best sleep! Great value for the price - My choice for stay in Idaho Falls.

"Convenient, Comfortable Hotel"
Sarah A, 31 Janvier 2016

We stayed here for 5 nights while touring Yellowstone and snowmobiling. The hotel was clean, quiet, and in a very convenient location. We ate breakfast here 2 mornings and it was fine--typical free breakfast fare. Cereal, toast, eggs, yogurt, and beverages. If you are not headed out early, wait a bit for the crowd to dissipate. The breakfast area gets very full at times. Would stay here again.

"Close to the park entrance in downtown"
western u, 28 Janvier 2016

From the outside, I wasn't impressed. This looks like what a hotel/motel looks like in Alaska (and that isn't a compliment.) There was enough parking for the vehicles (lots of snowmobiles.) The staff was friendly and check-in was quick. They have a public computer down by the breakfast area. The breakfast area has hot chocolate, cider and teas 24 hours a day. This is nice in the cold winter. I didn't find a work out room. The have a pool and small indoor hot tub. Due to the cold winters, I would think another hot tub or two would be a bonus as at times the hot tub was maxed out in capacity. The room was clean. There was a large flat screen TV with blurry reception atop the microwave and fridge. The room needed more lights. It was too dark. The bed was comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean. The sink area had a quartz like counter. They had good towels, shampoo and soap. The room was quiet from hallway, next door rooms. I could hear people walking above us. Breakfast is 0600 to 0900. This is good considering all the tour groups leaving early in the morning. They have biscuits and sausage gravy. The sausage gravy is a little better than average over a normal hotel/motel breakfast. The bacon was pretty limp one day. Another day it was nice and crispy, but in small pieces. They have greasy sausage patties and links. There were four cold cereals, typical looking motel apples, and oatmeal. They had good French Toast. The eggs varied from powdery like scrambled eggs to cheesy omelets to western omelets (depending on the day.) There are some cheap pastries and other items such as toast and bagels. Overall a decent variety of inexpensive breakfast options. This is better than a motel continental breakfast, but not up to a breakfast restaurant standards. I was satisfied with the breakfast choices. The postcards seemed expensive at 2 for $1. I don't know why, but I felt like this place was just average. On an objective basis, I felt it warranted a very good, so thus the rating. You can walk to any restaurant in town, most just within a few block radius to the southwest and south.

"Center of West Yellowstone"
photogranny, 23 Janvier 2016

Stayed two nights in January for a photography getaway. Check-in was easy, room was standard, comfortable bed, good TV. Breakfast was hot, good. Rowdy hunting group was a bit distracting while eating breakfast, but clear they were having a great time. Could walk to restaurants for dinner. Parking lot was a little difficult to leave as the exit sign led to a giant snow bank and one had to back up all the way out to the road. Location is great.

"An Excellent Best Western"
PhiloBeddoe53, 19 Janvier 2016

The quality of Best Westerns can really differ from property to property, but this Best Western is an excellent one. The rooms were very comfortable and well-kept. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the limited local dining and shopping in this winter season. Breakfast was above average for such a property. No problems to report, so travelers can book accommodations here with confidence.

"West Yellowstone Trip"
Mackenzie K, 11 Janvier 2016

We stayed at Best Western Desert Inn in West for a snowmobiling trip. I have to bring my own food, so a room with microwave and fridge is absolutely necessary. We usually stay at a little more high end hotel, but not a lot of options in West. Overall for the money it was a great hotel that met all of our requirements (comfortable bed, fridge/microwave, hot tub, pet friendly) The only complaint I had was it was a little on the noisy side as we were on the first floor. Winter sports require heavy boots etc and so people above could be heard, but for the most part was fairly quiet. Great stay, will stay there again if we decide to take another trip to West.

"clean comfortable"
Brad J, 04 Janvier 2016

Excellent service , comfort staff is very friendly and helpful I've stayed at this hotel at least once a year for the past 6years and the only complaint would be they need rubber pads or weathers tripping on the room doors because they bang when closed .

"Great value, nice stay!"
Dana & Dennis D, 01 Janvier 2016

This room was surprisingly affordable for peak winter season in a destination town. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. Room was "oversized" as advertised and clean and comfortable with fridge and microwave. Didn't notice any noise from neighbors or hall. Only complaint about the room was that pillows were a little "overstuffed" for my liking and made it difficult to get good sleep. Oh, and despite turning heat off completely before going to bed, we had to turn on the air conditioner during the night to cool it down (even though it was below zero outside!). Free breakfast was fine, but very congested with full hotel and difficult to navigate to all the different areas with tables crowded together. Still a great value and would recommend it to others!

"Good location, spacious room"
swissmiss001, 29 Décembre 2015

We stayed here to attend a nordic ski festival during Thanksgiving week. The price was good, the location was convenient, and we were walking distance to restaurants. Our room was vary spacious and comfortable and we really appreciated having the microwave and refrigerator. That was a real plus for us. Wifi was generally good and easy to use on multiple devices, but spotty coverage. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although there was quite a few items offered for breakfast, I didn't find the quality of the items to be very appealing, something I find quite often with hotels in a similar price category. That is why I often just pack my own breakfast items. I preferred my own homemade granola and better yogurt which I was able to keep in the small fridge. We brought a coffee press and ground coffee, so we could make our own, using hot water from the coffee maker. I heated milk in the microwave and frothed it with a battery powered device I brought along, so I was able to have my coffee and breakfast the way I like it, thanks to having the microwave and fridge in the room. We didn't use the pool area, so I have not commented on that. Overall, this was a nice stay for us.

"Basic small town hotel"
Snillow, 26 Décembre 2015

Basic hotel with everything one would need if they are spending the majority of the day out of the hotel. I find it ridiculous that reviewers would say the breakfast is good and a bonus at this hotel. The breakfast was absolutely disgusting. Microwaved eggs, French toast , bacon and Otis spunkmeyer abd Sarah lee Danishes and muffins. Coffee was gross.

"Over priced room"
00noodles, 08 Décembre 2015

We had room 20 with a kitchenette. The bathroom was very small and the sink was across from the kitchen area. There were no paper towels in the kitchen. The silverware was dirty and there wasn't even a sponge or towel for dishes. The bedroom area was large and the beds were nice. Pillows were comfortable. No view from the window! Convenient spot for eating, shopping, Yellowstone Park, etc. But very overpriced for the room and service. Breakfast was okay, but very crowded place to eat.

"Great winter getaway - good location"
RMhiker, 23 Novembre 2015

We spent a couple of nights recently on a cross country ski trip. What really makes a place special to me is the staff. Accomodations were nice with a very good breakfast but the staff stands out as friendly and helpful. Will stay again!

"Great breakfast"
Geographtraveller, 17 Novembre 2015

We visited off season just before Yellowstone NP closed, and payed a more or less reasonable price for our queen room. The room was large, had two queen beds. It was clean, with a clean bathroom. So overall much more than a basic comfort, and we slept great. A good reason to chose this hotel is however the great breakfast, which is included in the room price. Each morning breakfast was different, but the choice was always great.

"Good comfortable hotel"
excel12, 15 Novembre 2015

Could only stay one night, at the end of the season. Warm welcome and good room. Breafast area was crowded at 8.00am. Otherwise very happy with our short stay. A number of good attractions around, but unable to see them due to short stay.

"Good location in the center of town and close to Yellowstone Park"
Pixxidix, 14 Novembre 2015

Good rooms, indoor swimming pool, decent breakfast (albeit without the waffle bar some Best Westerns have). Close to Park and convenient location close to shops, supermarkets and eateries. Reasonable price for Yellwostone.

"Great Location Close to the Park"
myjourney101, 05 Novembre 2015

Very close to the park entrance. Price is very reasonable. Easy walk to the town restaurants and a grocery store. Breakfast was basic, but sufficient and saved time in the morning. Did not use the pool, had not time for that. Staff was pleasant. It was fully booked when we were there, so book early if you can. Will stay there again when back to Yellowstone.

"Great Stay"
Scott K, 03 Novembre 2015

The Best Western Desert Inn is a perfect location in West Yellowstone. It is close to restaurants, shopping, outfitting stores, and the Yellowstone National Park entrance. The room was very large with 2 queen beds a table & chair, lots of extra room. The room was clean, modern, the Internet worked well. They have an indoor pool and jacuzzi. Elevator and luggage dolly. Breakfast in the morning and coffee & juice 24/7. We stayed 5 days, and this room was excellent. The beds are great and staff is wonderful.

"Nice hotel and very convient to Yellowstone NP"
Bob C, 03 Novembre 2015

We stayed here two nights during our visit to Yellowstone and it was great. It's just a few blocks from the edge of the national park, so we didn't have to do any extra driving or searching. The service was great, breakfast was included, wifi worked very well, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

"An good choice near Yellowstone National Park"
Cheryl M, 30 Octobre 2015

We chose this hotel due to its closeness to Yellowstone National Park and the Best Western family of hotels that never disappoint. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was a great start to each day with ample selections of hot and cold choices, eggs, bacon, sausage, French Toast, biscuits and sweet rolls. Cereals, fruits and yogurt. The room was cozy and well appointed, the wireless internet was great and the bed very comfortable and we will stay there again if we are in town. There are three floors and we should have asked for a third floor room as we could hear every footstep from the room above us.

"Went there after days in The Nationalpark, nice relaxing in the pool"
Tigram1, 28 Octobre 2015

Went there together with my teenager son after days in the National park. We enjoyed the relaxing in the pool and the rooms. We find it in a good condition compare to the price. It was easy to park the car just outside. I can stay there again if I come around

We loved staying there..Good service and friendly staff. Beds were great and room was very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again. Good rates. too. Location was very handy for Yellowstone and a beautiful drive.

"A Good Choice"
CozyGirl, 25 Octobre 2015

We chose this hotel for its' convenience to Yellowstone. We were not disappointed. The room was comfortable and large. The breakfast was outstanding. Good selection and very tasty. The staff was kind and helpful too. My only complaint is that we could hear every step the people in the room above us made. It was not terrible just not pleasant sometimes. But, overall, it was a very pleasant place.

"Good Breakfast, Friendly Staff, Great Location"
Rick L, 25 Octobre 2015

We stayed here four nights. The location is very close to the west gate of Yellowstone. The breakfast was excellent, with more than ample choices. It kept us full until we ate dinner in West Yellowstone at night. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They always had a smile. The check in and out process were very easy and worked without a hitch. The room was very nice and my wife and I had more than enough room. We had our grandchildren across the hall and it seemed one was with every night and the room did not seem cramped, even with all three in there. We will be staying here again.

"Best Hotel in Town"
oregonwildlife, 23 Octobre 2015

This hotel surpasses all others for value. We wanted a fitness room which they did not have. Otherwise it is by far the best hotel in the area. If you can't stay in the park it is a great place to stay and we would recommend it highly. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated. The products are first rate as well.

"Remodled"
Sherry T, 21 Octobre 2015

Our room was roomy, clean, had a nice TV, WiFi, and new bedding (white comforter and coverlet, which looks extra clean) The bathroom was very clean (not a hair in sight) and had a good shower with enough water pressure. The room smelled clean and looked freshly painted. It was a non-smoking facility. The breakfast had not only a variety of hot items, but also yogurt and top of the line brands in their pastries and muffins. It had an indoor pool and hot tub which we didn't have time to use, that looked fairly large. The people at the front desk were very friendly. The only con for me was that the bed was too firm to be comfortable to old arthritic joints.

"Nice hotel, great location!"
RoadTripfromIL, 21 Octobre 2015

We stayed here for 2 nights during our vacation to Yellowstone. The room was clean and the breakfast area was large and had many choices. The location of the hotel was perfect......walking distance to many restaurants and souvenir type shops. We were only 4-5 blocks away from the entrance to Yellowstone too! We would stay here again if in the area.

"Nice place.Good size rooms"
Menotknow, 19 Octobre 2015

Was a nice place. The rooms we had on first floor was big and very clean. The bed we had were comfortable and the morning breakfast was set up nice. The staff all seamed friendly and kept the place in great shape. The parking I though was going to be a problem but we came in late and there was plenty for all the vehicles. The only thing that could be upgraded is the carpet.I could feel the carpet pad bunched up and felt like something under it.Kept clean and had a great quiet night.Shower had great hot water.Older but everything you would need is here.

"Okay hotel for short stay"
Air747, 16 Octobre 2015

I found two Best Western hotels in West Yellowstone. Both hotels are close to the West entrance of Yellowstone national park. This (Desert Inn) Best Western has nicer lobby than the other one. Since I did not stay at the other Best Western, so I can't compare the room condition. We had double queen room and room is very spacious. Free parking (though at night the parking lot gets full). Free Wi-Fi Internet and free breakfast with good selections (hot and cold). One of the queen bed, probably gets more use, the mattress does not firm and sag a little. The bathroom room configuration is a bit odd as the bathroom face sink is opposite side of bathroom. Our room is located right next to the laundry room, so we can hear the washer and dryer's noise. The washer and dryer (not free) opens 24 hours, so if you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, I do not recommend the room next to the laundry room.

"A pretty nice place"
therealsherlock, 14 Octobre 2015

This is a pretty nice hotel - not to be confused with the not very nice Best Western down the road. Make sure you book the Desert Inn and not the other. There was always multiple staff members at the front desk ready to help - no waiting. The room was spacious, two queens and in nice shape. The whole complex is in nice shape. The breakfast was really good with lots of choices and even lots of protein choices which are missing at some hotels. I did not use the pool or hot tub but it looked really nice. Here is my only complaint and it is probably more about hotels.com than anything. We booked this hotel about 3 days before our arrival. We did not need two queens for just the two of us but that is what appeared to be available. I do not recall the hotels.com listing saying that it was an ADA room - no bathtub. Well, the was no bathtub just the large ADA shower area. My wife was pretty disappointed as she loves to have her nightly soak in the tub. In the future I may use hotels.com to search what hotels are in the area but then call the hotel directly to get better information and book it directly. The staff at the front desk admitted they often get complaints about this same thing from those who book third party instead of calling direct. I just may dump booking through hotels.com as this has happened several other times to us at other hotels. Yes, I would definitely stay at this hotel again if we get a bathtub room.

"Great hotel, even better staff!"
JeanineFromUtah, 14 Octobre 2015

After a long car ride it's so nice to be greeted by a smiling face at check in. Freddie couldn't have been nicer and went above and beyond. He's a gem. Once we got to our room I was totally impressed by how clean it was. The shower surround looks like it's just been redone. I'd definitely stay here again.

"Comfort at it's Best"
Lynn S, 13 Octobre 2015

Just stayed here 2 nights and this was a awesome place to stay while visiting Yellowstone National Park. Everyone was very kind, the room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a great selection. If you're looking for a great place to stay, stay here, and don't waste your time looking elsewhere.

"Central location"
phil52_10, 13 Octobre 2015

The hotel is well located for shops, restaurants and a five minute drive from the west entrance to Yellowstone. The room which we eventually got was spacious, very clean and well decorated with the usual amenities. The breakfast area was large and the food hot, plentiful and well set out. The staff throughout the hotel with the exception of the two men on reception were friendly and helpful. However all the good points are negated by the attitude of our receptionists. On arrival we were told we had a pet friendly room on the ground floor although we had requested a top floor room, when we enquired if this could be changed, the response was, " if you don't take this room you don't have a room ". Not really the type of service we expect in Best Westerns, especially as my wife is a Diamond member. We then explained that my wife suffers from asthma and is allergic to pet hairs, a sudden flurry of activity and a top floor room was found for us, if it was available then, surely it was available when we asked for it. This episode did take the gloss off our stay in what essentially is a very good hotel. We would seriously consider our options if we were to stay in West Yellowstone again.

"Nice stay"
WITravler, 05 Octobre 2015

We spent two nights at this hotel during our trip to Yellowstone in August. While a bit worn, it was clean and the staff was friendly. The indoor pool was pretty small, but our kids still had a fun time playing in it at the end of a day of hiking. The breakfast was a nice way to start the day.

"Pure Comfort!"
Mary P, 03 Octobre 2015

We have visited West Yellowstone for the past 8-10 years and have stayed in the Desert Inn every year. It is walking distance to all shopping and dining and only a very short distance to the park entrance gate. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and the complimentary hot breakfast is just perfect!

"very nice hotel"
sistermac, 01 Octobre 2015

Great people at the front desk. Wonderful bed & bathroom. A lot of choices for breakfast, fresh fruit for hiking, Central location for walking the shops & restaurants, I would recommend this hotel. We stayed 2 nights & it was great;

"One of the best in their chain!"
DrRobertaS, 30 Septembre 2015

This hotel seems to be newer or at the very least we'll taken care. Very clean and presents as a higher category hotel. Front desk folks were very pleasant and knowledge about the area. Great location to restaurants, IMAX, Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, and of course the entrance to Yellowstone. Nice selection of breakfast items.

"Clean comfortable and quiet! "
Hope B, 28 Septembre 2015

This was a nice, centrally located hotel. The bed was heaven and I liked the fact that the sink area was separated from the bathroom . We didn't eat the free hit breakfast but they did have great parking too everything was clean and comfortable
