Best Western Executive Hotel of New Haven-West Haven

Shower head spraying water from the side causing the wall and floors to get wet tub would not drain properly causing water to fill as I showered overall odor in the room dirty towel left by the couch from previous guests a ridiculous amount of garbage in the hallway from the time of my arrival until after I departed (from other guests obviously) but very distasteful

From the outside the hotel could use some brightening but inside it was actually nicely done. Rooms were nice sized and spacious tub bathroom. It seemed like a lot of people staying there but rooms quiet. The included Breakfast had a lot of variety and was very well maintained by staff. I'd stay here again for the money value definitely! It's walking distance to Walmart , 7-11, DD and even some nice resteraunts a longer walk away which is great if you need anything. Pool was out of service.

We only stayed overnight because of an early flight. Staff was great, check in/out was a breeze. Clean room, comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Good location, right off I-95, good food & shopping options in immediate area. Quick 10-15 minute drive to Tweed airport

The room was nice, staff was pleasant, breakfast food was great !! Walmart right across the street ; restaurants in walking distance!! They had a nice pool and exercise room !! Everything was amazing !! No complaints!! Great stay !!

This is exactly what you expect a Best Western to be - cheap and okay. There was no one on reception when we arrived and we had to wait a good five minutes before someone appeared. When we'd checked into our room we were chilling on the bed for a while and then another customer let themselves into our room. This was a bit worrying. They went downstairs to sort out the confusion but this really shouldn't have happened. The room was big and comfortable with a good bathroom and shower. The room was too cold though and there was no kitchenette which was disappointing. I though all Best Western's came with kettles and microwaves. The breakfast was included and this was typical buffet style breakfast food, which did us fine and then we moved on.

have been using BW for nearly 15 years or more - sad to say, this was sub standard and not expected . The few staff that were present were good . Breakfast staff and menu - good . However, maintenance is very poor - the room had musty odours , carpets need deep cleaning . Elevators dirty and lobby - sticky floors- needed thorough cleaning, bed covers dated and old , towels - minimum in the room .All fixtures need upgrading - the safe, the door hinges old and rusty . The ownership needs to pay serious attention to cleanliness , upgrade and upkeep of the property . More staff probably needed. Would not recommend- sorry

Hotel is dirty, rooms needs to be cleaned throughly and carpet changed. elevators and hallways has a pungent smell of sewer, room had smell of stale cigarette and washrooms were not decent. They have the infrastructure but poor management.

Had a great stay. The room was roomy and comfortable. The manager was awesome. I had an emergency and last minute had to find somewhere else to go and she was very accommodating and had everything ready by the time I arrived. The rest of the staff was great also. Breakfast was great too. Many options. Definitely will book there again.

Great value for the amount of money charged. Our room was clean. The entire staff was efficient and friendly. The hotel is in a central location and we would definitely stay again. The breakfast consisted of varied items and in was clean, well maintained environment

4 stars - our room was spacious and comfortable with a good bed. Location was easy, just off the highway but also only about 10 mins drive from town. Elevators were showing their age, but did the job. Pool looked good although we didn't personally have the time to try it. Only a couple of minus points. There weren't any luggage carts available, which was frustrating (not sure if the hotel has any, but if they do, it wasn't enough as we never saw any). It was a big disappointment to find there was no bacon at breakfast (especially at $172 for a single night).

I personally feel that the location is poor, with it being basically on the highway, who can get proper rest with the noise. There should be a better air filtration system in place like air conditioning in the corridors so as not to breed a potential viral outbreak. And there should be a checks and balances system in place for cleanliness within the rooms that you are asking people to pay for in advance to actually seeing the room.

The Front desk staff was knowledgeable, polite and helpful. We rent 3 rooms. All room was great. Great location. The breakfast was excellent. There were many choices with breakfast . Overall it's a very pleasant experience. Will comeback again.

A super pleasant experience is the first time we stayed in a hotel of the BW chain. The employees are very nice and attentive. The room cleaning service of excellence. Of course, when I get back to Connecticut I will stay at this hotel

The staff in general were simply great, from check in to check out. Professional, courteous and friendly. Complimentary breakfast was pretty good, rooms were comfortable, the mattress and pillows were very comfortable and maintained well. My family and i had a great stay. Thank you to all the staff.

Pillows were just right the mattress was on point and the hot breakfast was nice it was peaceful and quiet and the cleanliness of the room was super,overall the best I've been to in quite some years. Looking forward to going back soon

Not sure how to begin but even before arrival manager Christine went above and beyond to help me out, the customer service was great especially Nev and also can't forget MS Betty who is simply amazing the crew here is awesome

We stayed here for one night to attend a program at Yale University. It was the least expensive hotel nearby, and you get what you pay for. Beds were comfortable and quiet, and there was a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker in the room, which was nice. Also, you could control the heat better than in many hotel rooms. Breakfast had a wide variety of choices, and the women working the breakfast were friendly and on top of things. The parking lot was very small for a 7 story hotel not near any public transit, especially since several of the spots were unavailable due to construction work. We got one of the last spots. I felt bad for someone with a van who came in when we did. i am not sure how/if they were able to find a spot big enough for the van. I had made a reservation for 3 adults, but the front desk told us that they are only allowed to give 2 keys per party. I have never run into that before, and thought it was weird. Luckily, we were only there for one night, but if we had been there for several nights, it would have been annoying to hand the key back and forth and/or wait for the person with the key to get into the room. There also were only 2 towels in the room even though I had made a reservation for 3 and it was a room with two double beds. The shower dripped and the sink faucet was difficult to completely shut off. There was nothing horrible about this hotel, but there were a few annoyances. It is a good choice if cash is more important to you than a seamless visit, but maybe pick another hotel if your priorities are opposite.

We enjoyed our stay like always everything was clean staff was friendly, the bed felt so good & comfortable more parking is needed, 1 of cart was wobbly so we had to struggle with that My husband didn't like the eggs.

Excellent stay due to the exceptional service from Sales Team- Kristen Tortal & Front Desk Staff Genesis. (I imagine Genesis is a Lead of some kind) If any little thing was off - as things can be in life it would have been easily overlooked due to the exceptional, prompt, efficient 1st impression provided by Kristen Tortal's accommodating and amazing service. Kristen Tortal went above & beyond when she did not have to. She obviously provided excellent communication to Genesis who followed up completely, efficiently with amazing customer service while multi tasking under pressure . The front desk staff the evening of 11/11 provided expectational phone service as well, with extra attention and amazing follow up while Genesis lead the checkin, room block & other task. The breakfast was great. Especially appreciated the turkey sausage. The well put together, professional, pretty girl with the stylish top on 11/12 -11/14 made the breakfast exceed expectations due to the excellent customer service she provided while serving. (It's great to see professional well put together staff) There was also one gentleman constantly cleaning the common areas during my entire stay. I saw him everywhere cleaning, cleaning, cleaning to ensure the lobby, halls, elevator where spotless. So that was a great touch. I appreciate that fact that every time I saw him he was cleaning but still took the time to say hello in a nice way. That lifted my spirits. It was great to see such a service oriented staff all working in harmony together. I cannot thank Kristen Tortal enough for her professionalism, extra hard work late in the evening and going above & beyond with kindness efficiency!! As well as Genisis. Your company is lucky to have them both! I stayed on the 3rd floor and it was comfortable and nice. The hotel appears to have just had a recent soft upgrade. Things were new & that was nice!! The staff made it absolutely perfect. THANK YOU KRISTEN TORTAL FOR BEING GOOD AT WHAT YOU DO!!!!! GREAT JOB GENESIS! THANK YOU BOTH!!!! If your staying in west haven I advised you never ever and I mean never stay at this location. I had my catalytic converter cut out of my car and my car was parked right in front of the doorway . Manager acted like she couldn't pull the cameras up and wasn't helpful at . Not only that when the police arrived they basically said the peace who work there had something to do with it . Because I wasnt the only person who stayed here that it happened too . Being cheap staying here for just a few hours over night cost me more then it would've cost to just stay at a better hotel . If your thinking about staying here run and dont look back . Worst stay ever besides the rooms being outdated and reakiing of cigarettes

We found a bedbug. I was not refunded my money even though I was discreet about it. This site wants a two hundred word minimum for a review. What more can I say?! Bedbug, bedbug, bedbug, bedbug, BEDBUG WAS FOUND!

The amenities of the hotel, such as a hot complimentary breakfast, that was served was excellent! The fitness center and lovely indoor pool were fantastic! The front desk check in service was excellent as well.

Booked here because the Hilton next door was sold out. Small parking lot was mostly filled, only spots available had overgrown limbs hanging onto our car when we parked. The lot obviously hasn't been maintained in quite some time. Walked up to the front doors that looked like they had been pried open at one point because the doors didn't close correctly. Girl working the desk was very nice. That's about the only nice thing I can say about this place. As soon as we got in the room I noticed an empty water bottle and some other piece of trash (possibly a candy wrapper) under the bed. Walked into the bathroom and felt like i was transported to 1950. The faucet in the tub was nothing I had ever seen before. Disgusting "emergency string" hanging next to the sink. There was also an ancient yellowing hair dryer on the wall. The toilet randomly starting running through the night. I paid a modern price for an ancient room! I can't comment on the included breakfast because we were too grossed out to even think about eating there. Couldn't get out of there fast enough. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

I had previously booked a room at a Choice Hotel in West Haven CT. My reservation specified Non Smoking room. When I walked into the room it smelled like an ash tray and there was a lot off damage in the room. When I returned to the front desk they refused to change my room and made it clear to me that customer satisfaction and safety was not their concern. They promised me a refund and I left. Fortunately I was was able to find a nearby Best Western and booked a room with them. I was thankful for Best Western providing me with a great on such short notice. PS: I'm still waiting for my refund from Choice Hotels?

The room strongly smelled of the cleaner, was hard to breathe and caused headaches. Although the smell was strong, the room felt dingy. Shower was stained, felt the grubbiness on the carpet, needs updated, the noise from the roadway was noisy. Left there feeling sorry and exhausted.

Stay at the Hilton next door. This place was horrible. Empty pool, smelled horrible, cold breakfast. The room was large enough for our family of six and the efficiency kitchen was a nice amenity but it was gross. The refrigerator smelled horrible. No one was allowed to open it.

Definitely needs an update. Ongoing maintenance but far from good. Breakfast is simple, not very high quality. No healthy options. Too bad the pool is advertised as amenity but it's not open at the moment.

Really nice and comfortable very quiet and clean not a bother at all pool was very nice I looveeeeee how it was 8ft in the pool we had a nice get away time nd would def recommend coming back prices were reasonable we ended up adding another day

This hotel has it everything, this is my third time staying and I'm never dissatisfied, it has outstanding cleanliness, the staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is diverse and rooms are cozy, clean with all equipment working perfectly; mattresses are so comfortable that it's hard to wake up. I stayed at their suite with my family and will definitely come back!

We spent four nights in this mid-rise hotel while visiting New Haven as tourists. Lots of amenities nearby, including groceries, restaurants and Walmart. It's close to a freeway ramp, with easy access to downtown New Haven. Nice room with comfortable beds plus a fridge and microwave. Great wi-fi but a so-so breakfast.. We'd stay again.

good place for family - clean. has pool. breakfast included. not elaborate but good. great value for the money with one except. Beds have metal prongs sticking out that are dangerous and hidden under fitted bed sheet on the mattress. This must be addressed. 2 of them. Both my daughter and I tripped on them and fell to floor. Someone could get seriously hurt. Desk agent was appropriate and sorry but I need to be sure this will be taken care of before we can stay again . Safety issue.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean. The breakfast was typical of hotel breakfast. I had an issue with my initial rooms AC. I called the front desk and was immediately moved to another room. I would recommend staying here.

Everyone here is friendly. The rooms are clean. Once you request, they always respond on time. The cookies are provided all day long. If you ask them to clean the room, they will do for you. They explained before entering room at first time. Location is convenient too.

Rude front desk person when making my reservation. Also place under construction and they never told our large basketball team. No signs tell us about the construction. Bathtub completely crack am they tried to cover it up with this bath mat not good. Not a good experience.

Clean room, amenities that work, decent bed, hot water, friendly staff. Price is right. Plenty of decent restaurants in both New Haven and Orange. The pizza in the city is some of the best in the country.

Stayed here for two nights while attending an event in the area. We arrived right at check in. Despite being Best Western Diamond Select members, the receptionist did not mention or recognize this. We were also not given the free gift that is usually give to members at check in. We were told that we had been upgrade to a “deluxe room”. When we arrived at the room, it was fine. However, I am not sure what made it “deluxe” as it appeared to be a standard room. The bed was comfortable and the room was of decent size. There was some sort of issue with the door to the room as we had to close it hard in order to get it lock properly. At least the room was clean as was the bathroom even though it was a bit small. We arrived back at the hotel on our first night (a Friday) to find no parking available. After inquiring at reception, I was told to find the night security guard for assistance. He directed us to park in the fire lane in front of the hotel. I did that (no other choice) but only after receiving assurances from security and the front desk that my car would not be towed. After all, I was illegally parked. Since there is no daily housekeeping due to COVID, room requests are made directly to the front desk who then asks housekeeping to send up what is needed. I did that after our first night and the request for fresh towels and toiletries was filled quickly. There were renovation in progress to the pool and the breakfast area which left a strong scent of paint in those areas. As a result, we passed on breakfast there and just took coffee to go. Thankfully, the smell was noticeable on our floor. The location of the hotel is good. It is right off Route 95 and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Our room faced 95 and, unfortunately, we heard plenty of noise from there even very late at night which made sleeping soundly difficult. So, try to get a room facing the other side of the hotel. No option for express checkout was given to us so I can only assume it is not offered here. I find this a handy option when traveling but it didn't work here. We are in the area every April for an event that we always attend. Since we have Diamond Select membership, it makes sense for us to choose Best Western hotels but I think next year, we will go elsewhere. We have stayed here previously and had much better stays than this one. I found the hotel to now be average and I am sure we can find better accommodations for the same money and also closer to the even venue.

Not clean, not well maintained, avoid if at all possible. We had a two night stay, arrived late and could not go elsewhere or would have. Left mid reservation for another hotel that was 100% better and very little more money. Avoid.

The place was nice. Check-in was easy. We got upgraded room to kings size bed. It was comfortable. Location is convenient - very close to food place and stores. Staff was friendly. WiFi was fast. Breakfast was good.

The people who work here seem extremely competent. The wide variety of clients make it a challenging place to work, Covid made this so much worse, and I was impressed that there was a Covid ward, with little crossover.

I stayed there for purposes of going to my Uncle's funeral. Not only did I walk into my hotel room which door was open. I found cocaine in the room on the table. It was the dirtiest and unsafe motel I've ever stayed in.

After I was refreshed by 3 cold showers on 3 days due to the hot water not working, a microscopic bowl of stale Cheerios was less than enjoyable. After making the staff aware of the hot water situation, I was informed, "The hot water is tricky." I guess I don't know the voodoo required to conjure up the demons in that shower to do my bidding. Enjoy the dingy sheets, as you crawl into bed from a long workday. That feeling of sleeping in worn-out sheets really helps you settle in for some rest. Wake up early, because you're going to need to pray to the hot water gods as you rinse your offensive body parts off with a wash cloth full of hope and lukewarm water.

Location was best for my wife and I and my two sons' families. Wished we had more time to spend with them. Restaurants were close. Everyone really enjoyed the pool and breakfast. The weather could have been better but still everyone had a great time.

Quick summary: neat, clean. Excellent breakfast. Friendly, professional staff. Near !-95. We stayed two nights over the Thanksgiving holiday to attend a family event nearby. Room #514 has two comfy beds and good pillows. The room has a good-size desk, chair, luggage bench, two big drawers to store stuff, and a closet. Many of the amenities you expect at BW: microwave, fridge, hair dryer, coffee set up (no tea - bring your own.) Glory be - an in-room safe, which seem to be disappearing in many hotels. Clean bathroom but low water pressure. It took a while to fill the tub (but thank you -- I love a bathtub at the end of a long day, not just a shower.) Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. Really good breakfast of hot and cold items, especially considering COVID times. (Loved the hot biscuits, corn muffins, sausages, fruit..!) When we stayed, servers put things on a plate for you at the buffet that you asked for. Good COVID practices. Indoor pool requires reservations to ensure good COVID spacing. A very clean, comfortable room, but due diligence: Complimentary wifi works well, but it felt a bit slow. The next renovation could use a few more convenient electrical outlets for your tech gizmos, i.e. could use a few on the nightstand and/or desk. An especial thank you to the staff: we had Thanksgiving dinner at an inn at midday. Rather than try to figure out dinner later on Thanksgiving Day, we asked the restaurant to box up some excellent leftovers that we heated in microwave in the room. The staff at the BW gave us proper utensils and plates to finish our feast that evening. So -- this is a very comfortable place to stay, with some minor issues that will likely be addressed in the next renovation. We'd be happy to stay again.

We stay in the area because of funeral. It was not the most elaborate hotel to stay in. But it clean, service was great and the price was right. We had a family group of six. Everything worked out perfect and a free breakfast. Thanks

My family and I enjoyed our selves at the hotel. The rooms are clean and the breakfast food was excellent, they have mace a variety for you to pick. The kids enjoyed the pool. Overall an enjoyable stay, definitely will be visiting again.

stayed at this property for a trip to the Yale university art museums. had a $20 coupon from Best Western. Property and lodging were disappointing. From saw mill rd. one has to go through some construction ditch to reach the hotel. Check in was ultra slow, room had a broken and busted desk lamp bulb which was reported to the front desk and no action taken. Fitness center was under repair and not available. Bathroom fan made a horrible noise prior to settling down and the price offered no value for this experience. Bypass this one when in the New Haven area.

This is disappointing for a Best Western. The staff did not care with the exception of one young man who tried to make amends. I was suppose to stay there for a month. I would have thought they would have treated us better and put us in a room with electical receptical that worked. AND with COVID, at least have the room clean

To start with the good. The breakfast was the best I have had since before Covid19. The employees were very nice. Location was good, easy access from the highway. Now the bad. The entire place needs remodeling. Peeling wallpaper in the lobby, bathroom tub was black and came complete with body hairs from a previous guest. Lights in the room were hanging crooked with tons of dust hanging from the shades. Tons of dust all around the room The parking lot was full of trash and the maintenance man seamed to just move around the hotel playing on the phone. If I were staying in the area again I would go to the hotel next door.

I have stay in many Bestwestern hotels across the country and expected this "executive " hotel to be at the top of the chain - it was NOT!! The lobby was extremely small, the room/hall smelled like skunk as someone was smoking pot the bathroom was dirty and the faucet was broken. I wouldn't even step into the shower!

I'm writing this review based off my stay on 9-16-21. I want to start off by saying, for a 3-star hotel, the authorization deposit should not be a $200 hold. When I got to room 312, I immediately noticed that the wall outlet was hanging outside of the wall, the safe was completely destroyed and the bottom of the bedspring was hanging from out the sides of the bed. I contacted the front desk to ask for a room change, the lady at the front desk told me that there weren't any rooms available. The lady stated that she would send someone to fix the room up but no one ever showed (although the next morning, the front desk stated that they sent someone and they have proof on camera which the lady agreed to email me the time the maintenance guy knocked on the door). I was in room for two hours after notifying front desk rep about my observations. So, I was forced to stay in the room with my child that had many safety hazards. I was able to manage by sleeping in the same bed with my child due to the malfunction of the other bed near window a/c section of the room. During breakfast, the breakfast meats were not cooked thoroughly, and juice machines were spitting out water, so my son and I settled for waffle maker and yogurt offered. In conclusion, this hotel needs to thoroughly inspect rooms before requesting so much from guest during check in. FYI, signed disclosures should not state that guest is responsible for any lost or stolen items if the safes are not working in the rooms. A lot has to change before I'll consider staying here again

We needed rooms next to each other because we traveled with kids which was specified to them twice prior to arrival and when we arrived the rooms were on separate floors and when they finally got us all together we were asked to clean a dirty room ourselves so we could have it since one of the rooms they gave us smelled like an ashtray. NEVER been asked to clean a dirty room as a PAYING guest at a hotel. One of our 4 rooms we actually had to vacuum ourselves because the floor was full of cracker crumbs. Covid or not this is unacceptable. We tried to book next door at the Hampton Inn but they didn't have enough rooms for both nights. Lobby is pristine, bright and smells fresh. The front desk staff is lovely and their rooms (I asked to see one before attempting to book) was immaculate. Don't waste your time or money with BW. Complete dump.

I loved staying at the Best Western Executive. Fabulous, friendly, and helpful staff. They served a wonderful breakfast that started my day on a perfect note every day. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I was not looking for a fancy hotel and this was perfect. The location, close to rte 95, was convenient for my purposes. I was on the 5th floor and it was quiet up there.

stayed at hotel 4 nights. There was a full hot breakfast included every morning.. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The indoor pool and fitness center was very enjoyable. TV had a lot of premium cable channels. Public transportation bus stops were right out side the building and easily accessed .They only complaint is that we were not told that the rooms would not be cleaned during our stay there and that trash bags and fresh towels would be available upon request.

Good and easy it was fast good service and the staff are always friendly the rooms were nice and clean as well as the hallways the pool was good could of been a little warmer but overall I would suggest this to someone who was looking for hotel room

This property, right next to the busy I-95 en route to New York City, is not in an attractive location, especially because at the moment it is surrounded by construction. There were signs of wear and tear on the premises, especially in public areas such as the elevators. My single room was clean and quiet, the service was friendly, and on the whole I enjoyed my stay despite the lack of housekeeping services (a pandemic precaution). Although the included breakfast is a nice touch it was not very good, bland and cold.

We came here for our daughter's college graduation and stayed for 4 nights. The hotel is situated in an excellent location, not far from I95 so it was perfect for quick travel to the stores, restaurants and Yale University. The front desk staff were very courteous and accomodating & all staff members kept their mask on our entire stay. We used used the gym: it clean and perfect for a quick workout each day. The breakfast is excellent with a large choice of hot and cold items: criossants, omelettes, scrambled eggs, sausages, pancakes, waffles with variety of fruits, cereals, yoghurts and excellent coffee. The breakfast staff were very safety conscious with regards to covid and were very accomodating if you chose to eat breakfast in the dining area or wanted it to go in a box. The elevator was clean and the hallways were bright and appealing. We were pleased with our room. It was clean, comfotrable and spacious and had excellent lighting. The room was also aesthetically pleasing. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. The shower was nice with plenty of hot water. Towels and bathroom amenities were excellent. We would definitely stay again.

Pool was too cold for this time of year.Breakfast didn't show up when it was supposed to, and couch was dirty. Hallways are very dark until the lights turn on. Breakfast was cold, soggy and small portioned.

(Rm 408) The Hotel staff was friendly, helpful and professional, no improvement needed. $100 a night left much to be desired. Advertised safe in room has not been serviceable for years. The internet service gave 1 to 2.5 MBps constantly disconnecting (2.7 highest speed tested, 780KBps the lowest). Wall sockets old and loose, anything plugged in falls to the floor. Comfortable bed but I had to lift up the mattress and place back on frame, in that state for a while because cover fabric was torn and hanging loose from vacuum. Shower fixtures hard to turn. Steep tub and nothing to grasp while stepping onto a slippery floor. Exhaust fan with no draw, bathroom stays wet and steamy. 4 packs of coffee, no sugar, creamer or stirring sticks. Freezer frosted shut. Would not recommend to anyone. I've stayed at better hotels in Thailand for a fraction of the price.

Nasty hotel breakfast under cooked no towels room had very bad cigarette and weed smell aa well as the hallways i will NEVER EVER stay at Best Western Executive hotel in west haven ct again tv remote didn't work they kept saying I'll send batteries to your room just lies not professional at all.

Upon my arrival i asked for the BEST SUIT for my daughtersslumber party . I asked for a non smoking room and askedif the pool would be open for the children . Before heading to my room we checked the pool area and it wasFREEZING . Nobody changed the temperature at all for us. Kids under 8 just ruined the experience. We settled into the roomi had the kids go i. The bedroom so i can decorate & while playing under the bed she found loads of trash . We tried to talk to front desk and nobody was there. I just took a photo and remove them myself since im a experience housekeeper for the omni i know whats ok and not . I purchased a room for my mom and the same indicent happen ; creme cheese and bagel box under the bed & my mom was in 101 ; when we left nobody was at front desk still . In the morning befoe we left we TOOK IT UPON ourselves to clean up a little and my phone fell off the dresser ; when my daughter retrieved it there was wrappers of which you smoke drugs out pf where present in the room . Completely unsanitary; nobody wanted to help they where moreso : this happens alllll the time & i was in diabelief . I asked for a NON SMOKERS room . I had 4 children with me i would never ! They then went about it and called the police on me in front of my children because “mike made an inappropriate remark that truly. Hurt my ententions of being a loyal customer

The first room had curly small hair all over ALL the towels. Asked for a replacement room and got less hair but still there. Also on the blankets. If you care about cleanliness at all, do NOT choose this place! Ordered an omelette for breakfast and I do not eat pork and did not pick that as an option but got ham in my omelette. When I asked for a replacement, only got the omelette without the sides. The front desk staff are alright but not very welcoming and they could definitely be friendlier. Hire some people person please and good cleaners.

I booked the BW in North Haven CT. The lady at the desk and the manager took care of me and and the same price. Breakfast was delivered to us promptly at 7:00 am. Then onto the next BW in Staunton VA.

The hotel room was clean and spacious. Close to the highway but the noise won't hinder. Very friendly personel who give a very fast check-in/out. I wasn't able to get hot water in the bathroom. The bed scheets are statically charged. A 15 minute drive from New Haven centre.

This is a nice hotel, and is in a convenient locatoin. The only issue we encountered was that the hot water took forever to be usable. The breakfast was sufficient and there was an employee present refilling any empty areas.

This place is a dump. Nothing is maintained or cleaned or repaired in the past decade. Shower, bath tub, room amenities, breakfast, towels and sheets, faucets, the reception area and receptionist computer were all broken. I was moved between two rooms, both had bathroom and hot water issues, due to broken faucets, showers, and tubs. Towels in the first room were used and wet when I arrived. The rooms were frozen cold in January, since the hearing were turned off. I had to turn it on, and go stay under hot shower for 20 minutes for the room to warm up. I'm not going to roam about how miserable and under whelming the breakfast was.

We booked a room at this Best Western and we loved it!!! My main purpose was to spend New Years Eve in NY, drove to the hotel and everything was so clean nice and accommodating. The staff was on point to all the information we needed. Rooms were so clean and spacious. We went to NY, received the new year and took the train back to New Heaven. we arrived and went straight to bed. The next day we woke up early and went down to have our continental breakfast... OMG!!! the variety of delicious food they had, from waffles to croissants, juices, coffee, yogurts, cereals, eggs, sausages and fruits. So clean and delicious. We also used the gym and the pool area until was time to go. This is an amazing price if you want to get away with your family, we were 3 adults and 2 kiddos. 5 stars for a great hotel. I will definitely recommend it.

A friend and I stayed here for the weekend as a weekend getaway, and the hotel served its purpose: a place to stay. The beds were pretty comfortable, there was sufficient space in the room, the bathroom was decently-sized without being fully comfortable, there was plenty of light in the room, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The furnishings were OK but could have been updated. Free breakfast is included in the hotel with the standard fare (eggs, toast, etc.).

Our shower was plumbed backwards so hot was off and cold was on. Not ok. And although there are signs everywhere about being environmentally friendly everything used at breakfast ends up in the trash.

I was told the rate was $99/night when booking as part of a group package for a wedding, when I arrived they increased it to $109/night. I never received a welcome email and didn't remember who I spoke to, was forced to pay higher rate last minute

We checked in on 11/16/19. The hotel associate was pleasant and welcoming. He mentioned some of the hotel amenities and wished us a pleasant stay. The elevator was clean and the hallways were bright and appealing. Our room was nice, good lighting and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. The bathroom was clean and basic amenities. Plenty of towels. One concern was the corner behind the door need extra cleaning. The desk chair was a little wobbly; thought I would fall over if I leaned back. The corner chair was basic but the chair rail molding looked cheap and unfinished. TV was great! The morning breakfast room was good; nothing fancy but had many choices for everyone. Food was fresh except for the scrambled eggs- they were dry. But all in all, it was clean, well supplied and satisfying. To sum up, the BW was a nice property and enjoyed our stay.

I have been a traveling salesman since 2008 and one of the first places I ever stayed at was the Executive in West Haven. I have not stopped going since! For over 11 years, the staff has always gone out of their way to ensure I have a PERFECT STAY! Everything about this place is great: relaxing and modern lobby, phenomenal rooms that are large and well-furnished, always impeccably clean, and super comfortable bed. Breakfast, fitness room and superior wi-fi completes this awesome hotel. I can't recommend it enough when staying in the New Haven area! Ask for Jocelyn, she is simply THE BEST

This hotel is nice, clean and affordable. It is located within a 5 min drive to the train station (Metro North). There is a subway and dunkin donuts (and walmart) within walking distance. The staff was friendly. They use direct tv so be aware of possible signal interruptions. The Wifi worked well. There is a pool, but no hot tub.

Exterior of building matches the empty buildings around it. Sad hotel. No eye contact made upon check in. Pool was small but clean. Towels were brought down upon request. Did I mention the tiny beds yet?

Great hotel for the price! Comfy beds, clean rooms and bathrooms. Staff very friendly and willing to sort out any problems at any time. Close to a highway however we did not hear anything all night. Decent breakfast with many choices!

This hotel had us mixed up with another guest who booked through expedia and the clerk kept telling me I had booked through them as if I was lying. Had us mixed up with another guest with the same name???? Really?!!? Took 45 min to get checked in, then our room was wrong, switched us, then upon checkout, still has us as booking through expedia!!!!!! Took another 45 min. just to check out !!! Ended up refunding our stay, but it was a horrible experience!!

This is the 4th time our group has stayed here over the past 9 years. They always go out of their way to accommodate our requests. Check in is easy as is check out. They keep us away from other groups and guests as much as they can. The hotel is a tad dated but clean and room amenities work well. LOVE that the AC works to 60 and you can keep constant fan!!! Fairly quiet as well. We will keep staying here over the years as we come up that way. VERY, VERY wonderful friendly staff!!!!

AC didnt keep room cool (mid 80s when I was there), reserved room was not what i reserved (downgraded). Rooms were very clean and presentable. Omelettes were great. Staff is friendly and front lobby clean.

We had a clean room with a comfortable king size bed. Bathroom is small but it was clean. Breakfast was tasty and the staff were very nice and helpful. It is in a weird location but it's a nice place to stay. We will definitely be back again.

Walked into room with crackers on floor and first thing we see at midnight entry is tables smeared with attempts to wipe dust. Dust being ignored was overwhelming all over the room. Last room available at midnight Expedia booking we checked bed for bugs and crashed only in bed. Suitcases remained zipped and on chair as we touched the minimal. Obvious they don't care as sweeping and dusting ignored for months. Took photos of thickness of dust at night and again in early am light. Air conditioner runs at 61 degrees to keep room at 72. Kept adjusting all night. Bathroom toilet seat had earlier persons urine remnants still there in a spot. Rest of towels were clean so we lived on towels and sheets. At least laundry looked to be washed. Nothing else was clean. Filthy.

Stayed here as we headed to Maine. One night stay. Easy to get to. Be aware this property is right next to I-95 so highway noise comes with this location. We were originally given a room adjacent to the elevator shaft and immediately went down to the front desk to ask for another so as not to hear that all night. The front desk was very happy to give us a queen deluxe room to address our needs. Great room except the TV did not function the night of our stay or the following morning. We were told it was Direct TV issue. Fortunately we used our laptop. We were told we would be given BW points to compensate. Haven't checked to see if that happened yet. The lobby area has beverages and snacks available for free to guests at all hours. Breakfast buffet was well stocked. Staff very friendly and professional.

We had a pleasant stay, and a wonderful breakfast at the Best Western in West Haven. The TV was initially not working, and they offered to give us half off if they couldn't get it fixed. But they fixed it!

I recently stayed at this Best Western for a one night stay on my way from RI to PA. The hotel is right off 95, very easy to get to, but when I arrived, the hotel sign was not on/lit by the road, and is low to ground, so had I not looked on Mapquest before arriving, I definitely would have driven past the entrance as it was so dark! I checked in late, around 1am, but check in was pretty quick. The front desk agent (a younger Asian male) however seemed sick, was constantly sniffling, sounded congested, and I wasn't eager to take my cards back after he handled them. The property looks to be older but is renovated and seemed clean. The parking lot was pretty full as I arrived late, and it was a Saturday evening, so I ended up parking by the abandoned building next door, along the entrance driveway from main road to hotel. I got a pretty good rate, by booking a few weeks ahead of time, and it was cheaper on the mobile app on my booking site I use. I had requested a room not facing the highway on a higher floor, which was granted, as I was on the 5th of 7 floor, and I didn't hear a peep of road noise which was great! I did however hear noise from a neighbor, sounded like a couple who were loud, talking, and laughing, but luckily settled down around 2am when I went to bed. If I had been going to bed earlier however I would have been irked. Also, the hallway smelled really weird, an overpowering food type smell, something overly seasoned it was strong! I was in room 506. It was close to elevator, easy to find, and was clean! The bathroom was clean, but was a bit tight, as the toilet is right in front of you when you step out of shower, and you must close the door to bathroom. A bit cramped. The room was nice, roomy, comfortable bed, 5 PILLOWS which I appreciated, a closet, big flat screen, and fridge/microwave. I really liked my stay and room. Breakfast in the morning was until 10am, on Saturday, and they had an omelette station, but I did not try as wait was long. Breakfast was a bit crowded but I found a table. I must say, there was a great variety of items, everything was delicious, and for the first time I saw a yogurt machine/dispenser (it tasted good and had fixings to add to it like granola, almonds, etc). I usually hate hotel eggs but these scrambled eggs were good! I left satisfied and full! Stayed at the Quality Suites nearby last year and breakfast was terrible in comparison. Check out was fast. I almost stayed here in June, during a similar trip, but had cancelled as I decided to drive further. I am glad I got to stay here this time, enjoyed my first visit, and would definitely stay here again and recommend to others! Few minor issues but overall very good stay! There is even a Dunkin in a small plaza next door to the hotel!

I love the new look. I've never strayed at this BW before. But it was really good. Breakfast buffet was great. Customer service was fantastic. Room was just what we needed to visit our family. Beds were comfortable. Did notice a little Stain near bottom of box spring on one of the beds. But room was very clean otherwise.

Communication with hotel was easy and smooth, our two daughters adored the stay over the week end. The staff was caring, the service was great, we definitely recommend for students, families and couples ...

I give this place 4.5 stars. My husband and I stayed at this place July 13-15. We stayed on the 6th floor. The staff were very professional and courteous.The pool was very nice and clean. It was on the smaller side, but it worked. The breakfast buffet was free and amazing. They had build your own breakfast sandwich, oatmeal, yogurt. They also had grits, a waffle maker, a cereal bar, eggs of different varieties, and build your own omelette on the weekend. The room was very clean, the bed was on the firmer side. However, it was labeled as a queen bed, and I'm not sure that it really was a queen bed as my bed at home is larger and that is a queen as well. The sheets were clean. The mini fridge worked and the tv worked as well. Also the one thing I found interesting was the remote in a clean bag showing it had been cleaned between occupants. A few critiques that I had since we were on the 6th floor, the water did take longer to warm and the internet didn't work some of the time or it was slow. Also since the highway was right there, there was some noise that could be heard in the room. We didn't use the gym so I can't comment on that. We would stay stay here again if given the chance though.

My husband and I stayed at the best Western in Connecticut. It was the first time we stayed at a best Western in years and this one was a wonderful one the staff was so kind and friendly rooms were great the pool is great the beds were great we highly recommend it.

Pretty good as far as BW hotels are concerned. Service was excellent. Rooms are clean but well used. Carpets were stained but didn't seem dirty...just well used. We had several rooms at the hotel for a family reunion. Large breakfast area was nice and lots of choices for food. Room air was louder than I would have preferred but at least cooled the room well.

We were in the area to visit Yale and attend an event at Yale. The hotel was close to campus, very clean and had a great breakfast for all the picky eaters in the family. Only complaint was the A/C was a bit loud.

First impressions of hotel surroundings not favourable with an abandoned building on one side and a lot of lorries parked up for the night close to the hotel. Despite that and an initial problem finding my booking which was eventually sorted out, the hotel was clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful and breakfast much better than standard fare. Would use again.

We visited New Haven as part of a school entourage participating in a conference at Yale. Caught in the sudden snowstorm last November, we were really grateful for the dynamic response and great care demonstrated by Eileen and her team, who ordered dinner for our kids and sorted our transportation to Yale in the subsequent days. I am highly impressed with their staff for their warm hospitality and attention (as well as patience) with a group of kids visiting Eastern US for the first time. Not to mention, their rates are one of the most competitive in the area and their location - top notch with a Walmart just across the road. Kudos to the team and if the opportunity arises again, will stay at Best Western in a heartbeat!

As part of a Dallas Cowboys club, we were in the area for celebrating another Cowboys club anniversary!! We traveled from south New Jersey! We were greeted by two very helpful employees! The first room had a strong smoke smell! The staff acted very quickly in finding us another room! The breakfast was absolutely delicious! Ricky and Sean were extremely professional and courteous! They even gave us roses for Mothers day! If ever I am in the area again, I will definitely look forward to seeing Ricky and Sean at this Best Western!

This was a great location. Close to I-95 and various restaurants. We were visiting for a college graduation in Hamden and the ease of getting to the college was wonderful. Breakfast each day was great with a good variety and make your own omelets. The indoor pool was relaxing and a great addition to the travel day. The staff was friendly and very accomodating and responded to our needs. I was worried about the close proximity to the highway and sleeping, but overall it wasn't an issue. Overall a very good experience and we would definitely visit again.

I stayed here for 2 nights. My check in process was smooth. It was not until the night time when we were sleeping when things became uncomfortable. 3 times while we were sleeping, someone tried to walk into our room. I reported this to the front desk staff, but the staff was very dismissive. I was also overcharged by $100. I tried to explain to the staff that outside of the incidental fee, I was charged an extra $100.

The front desk staff was super friendly, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The gym equipment is new as well. Very conveniently located to University of New Haven and Boston Post Rd. Will stay again!

Exterior of hotel needs help. Appears like an industrial area outside. But once in, just fine. Check in was fast & friendly. Electronic door keys were ready & waiting. Receptionist explained where stuff was. Room was very clean. Needs a newer couch that can face Tv so as to not strain neck.

I can't base my whole experience on just the one person who made me uncomfortable. Everyone else was very hospitable, respectful and accommodating and we had a much better time than we expected. The pool was perfect for us! Breakfast was good and the WiFi works great. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it. I went for a spontaneous getaway with my kids and it worked out for us. The room was clean and no weird odors, all the temperatures in the areas were appropriate and everything was in working condition.

The rates were fine, staff was friendly, the free breakfast was good. My only complaint was that we were there for three days but on day number two, housekeeping never cleaned our room. I had to call down for towels and to have the trash removed. They offered to move our room as housekeeping had left for the day but as we were leaving the next morning, that seemed a pain....I did ask about compensation the next morning and they did say a manager would call me but I never received a call. We did not use the pool as it didn't seem all that clean. Also, if you book with them you may want to ask for a room NOT facing the highway...it is rather loud. It is in a good location to downtown, and there is a WalMart, McDonalds and a Dunkinn Donuts right across the street.

We are a music production company and we stay at this location several times each year with our crew and artists. Location convenient to our venue as well as train station and airport. A great hotel at a great price.

Best Western Hotel In West Haven is one of the Best Hotel I stayed. The staff specially Jocelyn a nd Kristine made my stay a comfortable one. they made me feel a VIP. Excellent service. This staff will give a great impact to this hotel. Breakfast is great.

First night. There was a broken elevator stuck between floors that kept going up and doen making sleep difficult The rooms hallways and elevator were freezing. The pool was cold as well as the pool area. Had extremely loud guests at 4 am. The food was stale. Greens. No ham. Hard buscuits no gravy. Nothing appeared fresh. Looked like thecold food was muxed with the new The room had a broken bed. And the diverter knob was missing off the shower. The staff was nice. But too many complaints to give them a better rating

This hotel was just eh to me. It wasn't dirty exactly... but it wasn't very clean either. The water pressure of the shower was terrible. The WiFi hardly worked. Our toilet clogged more than once. I'd reserved a non smoking room, the first room we were given had cigarette holes in the curtains and smelled of smoke. The “heated” pool was also very cold. The stay wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Longtime traveling salesman and this has been my Connecticut "home" since 2008. Excellent staff that is always incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are gorgeous and immaculately clean, and most importantly, the beds are very comfortable! The breakfast has become fantastic with many options and fresh. A great gym is located downstairs, and the wi-fi never fails.

My wife and I were travelling back from a night at Mohegan Sun Resorts and casino and since we had to be in Norwalk CT Sunday morning decided we would stay overnight in New Haven / Milford area. We decided on the Best Western of New Haven-West Haven and were very happy with the choice. Although all we were looking for was a place to crash for the night the room was large, clean and extremely comfortable.

This place is a sad excuse for a highrise motel a little mold smell cable didnt work had to switch rooms i guess you get what you pay for i would not stay in this hotel the front desk is rude at best and the manager is worse

This is a nice hotel, but finding the hotel, getting into the parking area and out of the parking area can be a real hassle. It is located very close to the highway. If you get a room facing the highway you could be in for a noisy night. They do provide ear plugs in the room, so let that suffice about noise levels. Otherwise it is a nice place to stay.

We have stayed at this hotel twice in the recent months. The price was great, the hotel & rooms were clean and the staff was VERY attentive to any thing we needed.The hotel is very close to where we needed to be and was the best price of any others we looked at!

Great location, easy to get to all attractions in New Haven and vicinity. Rooms are alright, clean and meticously tended to. The service on breakfast is exceptional. The only problem I'd encountered was a billing mistake no one noticed, but they promised to fix it.

The place is older and it is right off the Interstate. If you get put in a room that has a view of the internestate you will hear a whole load of road noise. The rooms were clean and the hotel provides ear plugs on the night stand. The place needs a remodel. The juice machine wasn't working. They have a yogurt machine but the yogurt sucks. I would rather individual branded yogurts. They do have eggs, bacon, sausage and toast ect. The coffee is horrible. They must use the same supplier as Wyndam and Choice brand hotels. The lady in the evening for check in acts like any discounts you ask for are coming out of her paycheck. I would of used the app on my phone for checking in but I had lost my password. Overall the hotel is about the same as staying at a Quality Inn or an older Comfort Inn. The guy in the morning that checked me out was very professional and tool care of all the issues. I would stay at the hotel again but would be using the App on my phone for reserving a room. The place is better than the Econolodge and there is a Texas Roadhouse in the neighboring hotels parking lot.

To start off the stay, the room had a moldy smell from when we walked in. Then there were several bugs as well and the phone didn't work. What topped it off to be a horrible stay is that housekeeping stole my chain which I left in the room. Then management kept trying to convince me I was crazy and did not leave it. Make sure you don't accidentally leave anything in the room because they will steal it and not return it!!! Worst stay ever. Horrible hotel. Never staying here again, rather pay more and stay at the hotel next door!

Not only is the staff friendly and welcoming but also smart. They can provide you with essential tip's about the area. Such as how far is the beach or Yale.It is truly a great place to stay.I highly recommend this place.

Love this hotel great place to stay because of location. Its close to everything. Breakfast was good and the yogurt bar was nice touch. Room was well appointed. Room was quiet and not much noise from other guests. Overall I would stay here again when in the area.

Stayed 6 nights. Very comfortable room and mattress. Wonderful staff, everyone willing to "go the extra mile" to make sure you have what you need. Marcella in the breakfast area was a delight. Breakfast area spotless and well maintained. Extensive collection of food to choose from. The only negative is the location. The entrance is not well marked and is situated next to a fenced off lot and empty building.A number of restaurants close by for lunch and dinner. Would definitely stay here again

This hotel is always perfect when I stay in the area. As a long-time business traveler, I expect a great hotel that is clean, has many amenities and a great staff. This hotel has all three! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The rooms are always very clean with immaculate bathrooms and very soft comfortable beds with lots of pillows. The hotel has great wifi, a gorgeous pool, a nice gym and a great breakfast. I've been staying here since 2008 and they continually work to make everything better than before.

Friendly Staff. Check in went smoothly and he even caught himself putting us into a King size room when he noticed our children. Showed him our online confirmation and he moved us right into a 2 Queen room. Clean Room, but shower was a bit funky. Great price. Stayed here instead of the recommended Hotel, just about in The SAME Parking lot for 1/2 the price!!! Would stay again for sure!

Last minute needed a place to stay for my daughters orientation for college. The other hotel we booked Econo Lodge was a hell hole horrible. This is a few blocks away, clean, friendly, professional. Breakfast was good and fresh. It could use a little updating. But I would stay in this hotel again. They are fixing the grounds near it, but is was close to everything.

The staff is awesome. The rooms are adequate, but a little dated. It had a bit of a smell,not bad, just enough to remind you that you aren't at home. I literally stayed there for 5 hours, checked in at 3AM.

The people at the front desk were helpful checking us in. The room was good but the beds sheets were too large for the bed and uncomfortable to sleep on as they bunched up when you laid on them. After the second night of our stay I was ready to leave. The breakfast they served was not what I expected.

Room was clean and stayed only one night for a funereal.Had a restaurant that was good place to hang out after we arrived. Would stay their again if needed to. Close to where we needed to go and near stores if needed.

Certainly not the standard I'm used to and I'm a diamond member. Very dated and the neighborhood isn't desirable which we didn't know about ahead of time. Breakfast was horrible and many things didn't work like pancake and yogurt machine. The pool is 8 ft deep if you can believe it. Clearly something they don't do anymore. I wouldn't recommend and I'm disappointed in Best Western for not keeping their standard required at all their facilities. The beds were horrible and really need to be replaced. Two nights and our backs are killing us.

This hotel was conveniently located, but is dated. The common areas are quite nice, but the rooms were dated...especially the bathrooms. The hotel does not have a restaurant or a bar but does offer a continental breakfast.

We ended up at this hotel after a terrible storm passed through, we were unable to find accommodations in Danbury and found this place on-line, called ahead and were given help to find them as it was a terrible stormy night and we did not know where we were going, gal on the front desk was very helpful, we were so happy to get out of the car, the hotel was comfortable and we had a well deserved good night's sleep.

Visiting New Haven we choice to stay at Best Western. It was great value and convenient to visit Yale. The staff were very friendly, helpful and offered a level of personal service that was beyond expectations.

This hotel is a great choice if you are visiting the area and is conveniently located right of Interstate 95. My wife and I stayed here two nights on a weekend visit to the area. We arrived around lunchtime and earlier than we thought we would get there. We inquired at the hotel and were pleased to find that our room was ready and had already been assigned. We were very quickly checked-in by a very courteous and polite receptionist. We were assigned a room on the fourth floor. We arrived to find a very clean and well maintained room. The king bed was spacious and comfortable. The room featured a large television with plenty of channels available. The bathroom was clean but a bit cramped but we managed with that. The room seemed larger than most hotel rooms so we were able to stretch out a bit. The hotel features a full hot breakfast and was outstanding. It had a lot more than is usually found at this chain. There were eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes and pancakes as hot options. There were also the usual cereals, breads and baked goods as well. There was plenty of room in the breakfast area to sit and eat. The hotel also features a gym and an in-door pool. The gym was well equipped but the pool was a bit small. That's probably best for kids but the pool area was nice and had plenty of room to sit. We had no problems parking and I mention that as we got back to the hotel late at night. There are places to eat close to the hotel or a short drive if you decide to look into that further. We actually got back to the hotel very late on our last night. As a result, we overslept and woke up at 10:30 which is half an hour prior to checkout time. A quick call to reception gave us until noon or even later if we needed it. Kudos to the front desk for that. So, an enjoyable stay and highly recommended if you are staying in the area.

Room was average. Breakfast, fitness center machines and plumbing were below average. Internet and parking were provided and were easy to access. The hotel is about 15 min from the Yale campus. There are other restaurants, a Starbuck's and a Walmart across the street. So, the location and overall amenities are OK, but I have stayed at much better Best Western facilities. Skip the breakfast.

You will never find a more hospitable group of people who strive to meet your every need and request and always showing the utmost respect for the patrons! The hotel location is excellent just off the freeway and visible from the freeway making it easy to spot and get in and out of. Your only about four exits from the New Haven exits from downtown New Haven.

Hotel is in a good location with a few dining options and things to do nearby.We didnt go swimming because the indoor pool was too cold.Room was quiet and comfortable.We have been here two times and would come back again.

The room was VERY clean (the TV remote was sanitized!), which means a lot to me. The hotel location was great, convenient to I-95 (right off the exit). Free breakfast was included in the room rate, so that made our visit even better.

I stayed in this hotel with 3 other friend in January for around 15 days the Hotel was an average hotel for me , the services was perfect from all the employee start from the Housekeeping team to the front disk team specially the night shift team, I have some comment related to the furniture in my opinion the hotel is needed to be upgraded. However, its ne of the few good stay in west haven.

I will never stay here again. There was a crack in the wall letting the cold air in and hot air out. I have asthma and the vent filled an entire trash can full of lent absolutely ridiculous need wrote again.

I was visiting a friend in New Heaven on the last 3 days of 2017. Because my friend lives in a small studio, I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The room was clean, and everything was in order. Because I didn't run into any problems, I didn't have a lot of contact with the staffs. But the staffs who helped check-in and -out were both friendly and polite. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of options, and there were a lot of warm foods - great comfort on winter mornings. Although the hotel is next to a busy highway, it was very quiet at night (my room was not facing the highway). There was heavy snow during my stay, but the hotel cleaned out the parking lot very quickly and I had no problem driving in and out.

The rooms are nice, the staff is phenominal and at a good price. I usually travel for weeks at a time. The Best Western Executive Hotel is the place that i go to. Right off the highway so it's very convenient location.

Stayed there two nights while on a business trip, decent hotel, clean room we stayed in, staff was nice, worked for us while we were there, we stayed on the 4th floor on the back side so we did not hear any traffic noise as interstate right there.

Clean and Surprisingly Quiet given location next to I-95. Looks a little rundown but that is from closed and abandoned buildings nearby. Great access to New Haven and Yale. Would stay here again rather than pay over-priced options downtown.

Very poor quality rooms, beds, shower, cleanliness. Noisy, limited breakfast and amenities. Will never stay here again, nor would I recommend this hotel. Linens and pillows poor, stained quality. Shower floor gritty and shower stream weak. Bathroom very small. Room smelled. Did not feel safe. Noisy. Given room right across from elevator.

They charged me more than i was quoted when I booked the room. Everything is very outdated, breakfast was bland. I noticed a musty smell when I walked into the room. If there was any other options nearby I would have left.

Very noisy hotel. reluctant to give you another room. heating stayed on all night even if you set thermostat low. overall cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired and that's coming from a bachelor. For what you pay this place is a rip off.

My husband and I are heading down to 3hrs to CT tomorrow morning and leaving Wednesday. I booked the wrong day by mistake on my phone last night with a new app. When I saw in my email this morning that I booked for last night by mistake I called the hotel right away to explain the mishap. The girl wouldn't give the phone to the manager like I kindly requested. She said she wasn't responsible and to call hotels.com. I spoke with them and explained the situation. They tried to resolve it so I can stay there tomorrow( like we are going to be doing anyways) without having to pay an extra $130 dollars. And the people at the hotel refused to have some compassion and agree to letting us stay tomorrow without having to pay for another day. My spouse has a disability and we aren't working, so that money is a lot to us. They could have had some compassion and understanding, but instead decided to be inconsiderate to a potential customer who made an honest mistake. Don't stay here if you want to feel welcomed or cared about. Go down the street and stay somewhere else! I wouldn't stay here if you paid me!! We will be booking for somewhere else tomorrow and will just have to consider that 100 plus dollars to be a loss. Very disappointed!!

I'll start with the pros: 1. Staff was nice. I checked in early and there was a room open. 2. Breakfast was decent - decent spread. 3. Internet was good. 4. DirectTV with free HBO/Cinemax Here are the cons: 1. While breakfast was decent, the eggs were definitely fake. But what can you do? 2. The complementary coffee in the room was only decaf and they never replaced it when Housekeeping came through. So for a day, I had no room coffee. 3. My tub floor was dirty and/or moldy. Not sure if it was ever cleaned? 4. Pillows on the bed were too small for the bed size (Queen), irregularly-shaped, and too firm. Overall, not a terrible experience. I mean, I knew what I was getting into when I went for a hotel in West Haven. It was cheap and it was near what I needed it to be near.

We needed two nights in a clean hotel convenient to the campus at Yale. The location in West Haven was less than 5 miles from campus so just 10 minutes away, yet significantly cheaper than hotels closer in. The trade off was perfect for us. Like many hotels at this price point the walls are not super thick and insulated, which could potentially pose a problem (and if we had been next to the room across the hall it would have been awkward, given what was easily heard in the hallway), but that's consistent with my expectations at this level. The breakfast was good and wide ranging, and staff was wonderfully nice and attentive. All in all, just what we needed it to be.

Stayed here one night. The entrance through the back was an abandoned parking lot, but the hotel was your basic chain hotel. Free breakfast, parking, wifi included made this a good value. Room was clean and included a microwave and mini fridge. The breakfast was pretty good and included eggs and pancakes. Hotel has a pool and fitness center. It was a short drive to Univ. of New Haven.

We came to CT from the west and needed a place to stay for the week. We picked this BW since it was closest to the city. The stay was quiet. Sleep was good. Room was clean and comfy. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The place was not perfect; but pretty good for the whole period of our stay (We ended up extending the stay for more than a week). The extension of stay as well as the checkout were quick and hassle free. On the whole, a good stay.

While the clerk at check in was not very friendly and did not acknowledge our membership rewards. The room was very comfortable and clean with the exception of bathroom floor which was a little sticky. The clerk at check out was very polite and friendly and they had one of the best breakfast buffets including whole milk, skim milk, half and half, two kinds of coffee and eggs, both bacon and sausage, pancakes, bagels, english muffins, toast, coffee cakes it was like having a Grand Slam at Denny's.

Stayed at the Best Western after following reviews on Trip Advisor. Found this to be one of the best reviewed hotels in the area for the price. I would rate this a average to above average hotel, especially in this price range. The breakfast, fitness center, pool, and overall service were on the plus side. The cleanliness of the rooms is what needs to be worked on. It is right next to highway, which was not in other reviews, so when I arrived, I requested room facing away from highway, which the staff changed my room location upon my request. A lot of pluses for this hotel, just work on the cleanliness in the rooms.

The hotel is conveniently located right off I-95, downside is that it is so close, there's a lot of road noise on the highway side of the building. Rates were reasonable and the facility appeared clean and cared for. The parking area is limited in front and there's a funky parking lot to navigate through to get to the hotel. Bed was comfortable and the room was spacious with a mini fridge, microwave, closet and separate counter area outside the bathroom.

This hotel is easy to get to and very close to the University of New Haven. A great value and rooms were very clean and includes a hot. breakfast. The staff was courteous and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

I've been at this hotel 5 times since daughter entered University of New Haven. This is best time so far. Can't wait till next stay. Stayed here several years ago. Rooms were tired. Breakfast mediocre at best. Whole place looked run down. Been upgraded. I was also upgraded to a very nice room on 7th floor. Good room, excellent bedding, very good WiFi. Very good breakfast. Coffee could have been a little stonger. Nice small indoor pool. Small exercise room.

I booked this hotel for a business trip since it is close to downtown New Haven yet affordable. The hotel is old and has only had cosmetic updates. It is (extremely) close to the highway but not close to any restaurants or shopping so you have to drive to get anywhere. The area is not walkable at all.

I was visiting Yale for a few days and this property was a great choice given it's price, location, amenities, and overall comfort. It's right off the highway but you don't hear a sound when inside so it makes for easy access to Downtown New Haven (only about 5-10 mins away). The free breakfast was great - more than enough choices and very clean and well stocked. You can tell the rooms have been recently updated - very clean, comfortable, and well appointed. When I come back to the area, I'll definitely stay here again.

My stay at the Best Western was excellent. The room was extremely clean. Breakfast was really enjoyable. The staff was also very helpful. My family also used the pool area. Although it stated heated the water was a little cold. The pool area was also clean and tidy. The outside of the hotel may lack a little curb appeal but the inside of the hotel was everything that I expected. I would recommend this to other friends and family.

We stayed while traveling from Maryland to Boston for a conference. We were not offered the member bonus points or the welcome gift at check-in, so be sure to ask for that! The room was clean. The interior of the hotel was clean. We had a comfortable night's sleep. It is a good value for the price. The breakfast was okay, not what we have had at Best Western in the past, but acceptable.

Staff and accommodations were very friendly, clean, comfortable. Would definitely stay at a Best Western in the future. Only suggestion would be a pool that had a depth lower than four feet for youngsters and non- swimmers.

To my astonishment this hotel is horrible. Situated in a dilapidated parking lot between Uncle's Willy Subway McD and a motorway. Potholed tarmac should have warned. The entrance covered with a carpet of cancerous cigarette ends welcomes you. The sight of big rigs parking next to the abandoned building is not inspiring. The rooms are outdated you soon realize the deposit is to ensure your stay otherwise it is essential to flee this appalling excuse. Best it is certainly not. Executive is only apposite in declaring it's demolition by an executive order I think. How Best Western has the affront to have this in its portfolio defies any reason. A small room overlooking the motorway was so noisy that the prehistoric air con could not drown out the cacophony of cars trucks and bikes continuously parading 24/7 but tried valiantly. The management graciously upgrade us next to a lift that moaned and groaned 24/7 competing with the a/c and traffic. The traffic still could be heard and any form of sound deadening was ineffective. The bed overly soft the bathroom worked with the aid of mastic and the fridge whistled when all else was quiet. The bed sheets fitted inside out did not fit. Coffee came with paper cups and breakfast was served with plastic disposable plate and forks. Like the food plastic and sweet of no value. Except in promoting McD and diabetes. Keep away. Stay away. Do not stay here ever. I have travelled all over the USA and the world and this rates as disgusting. The only result would be to pull this place down. The staff are nice and helpful. Room service struggles to lift dirt or replenish shampoo.

Our stay at this Best Western was not very pleasant. The room had a sad worn out look to it. The air conditioner was noisy. The tub was scratched and stained and the faucet was hard to turn and adjust. The maids were pleasant but the fellow at the front desk seemed to be just doing a job that he didn't much care for. We didn't feel especially welcomed. There was a strong lemongrass scent coming from the lobby air conditioner. I do like the scent of lemongrass but I couldn't help but wonder if they were trying to cover up some other odor. The free breakfast was okay as free hotel breakfasts go and there was a helpful fellow working in that area. I would not stay here again.

Overall all the Best Westerns are great! We always stay at a Best Western and have been saying at these hotels for years in a lot of States. The Best Western in Pennsylvania is one of the Best and has a great restaurant

We always stay with Jocelyn and her staff on our trips to CT they cannot do enough to make sure your stay is comfortable and easy. The hotel is very clean and close to everything in the area great restaurants, Yale and Medical institutions.

We had a great room, it was clean and comfortable.The breakfast was really good!! There was a guy there that helped us figure out the waffle maker (never used one before, haha) The sitting area for breakfast was great too. We did not use the fitness room or pool. For a one night stay, it was worth the extra few dollars it cost.

Top to bottom, a bad experience. Fitness room was sub-par with lights that would not stay on during a run. Pool was maybe 60 degrees. Wifi was iffy. Staff was unhelpful and snappy. I would recommend staying next door at the Hampton Inn.

Whenever we are visiting the University of New Haven we stay here. The rooms are very large, clean and the location is easy to find. Centrally located and not far from the University. Free breakfast is not bad. Comfy beds.

Great place to stay. Staff are very friendly & helpful & go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Good location just off I-95 & very close to shops & many restaurants. Have stayed here many times over the last 25 years & have never been disappointed with the service. It's not the Ritz but is terrific value for money & very comfortable.

We arrived early and the room was not ready, but they suggested other activities and a place to eat. Their suggestions were excellent and we had a great time. The facility was outstanding and quiet. The breakfast was good and was part of the deal. We used the washer and dryer to have clean clothes. They went out of their way to make us happy.

A big hotel, not new but good maintained. Very quiet hotel in a quiet town. Very comfortable clean rooms and a big breakfast. Close to everything,restaurants etc. Good desk service. you will enjoy this hotel -for sure

The hotel is right off Rt 95, and there are a few restaurants and Walmart next to it, so it's quite convenient. Free breakfast is decent. The first night I was there I could hardly sleep for half of the night as I could hear the traffic on Rt 95 all the time, so I asked the front desk to switch me to a room away from the highway on the 2nd night, which I felt much better. Wifi is on and off, not very stable though. Overall it's not a bad choice.

The hotel was clean but very worn. Bathroom had dripping facet. Hotel close to Rt. 95 and you could hear the traffic all night long. Hotel needs 'facelift" to attract more people, Fitness center needs work. Also needs to have a water cooler and towels If the Hampton Inn next door has rooms available, stay at the Hampton INN

my stay here is always pleasant very comfortable I call this my home away from home just very relaxing every time I stay here I love how quit and peaceful it is here. the staff is very professional. they always there for your needs to be met I respect how they treat me

We have stayed here with our competitive college team twice and Jocelyn and her staff have given us a tremendous experience both times. They are friendly, efficient, accommodating...just an all around wonderful group. It has been a very easy trip to work with them and we definitely will continue to stay with them when in New Haven. I can't recommend them enough!!! The place is well taken care of with a super breakfast and wonderful, working amenities!! Thank you all again for a fantastic experience!!!

Both rooms next to ours rented hourly, walls are not thick enough to hide that fact. No chance to sleep. Dirty towels. I'll guess I'll skip breakfast under these circumstances. Broken vending machines.

Decent for 1 night. Overall clean establishment. Front desk staff was not overly friendly, but they were not rude. Sleeping room was adequate. Morning breakfast was late to start. Restaurant hostess for breakfast was not accommodating, and really had an I don't care attitude. Parking lot was questionable. Not clear how to correctly turn into hotel and turn out of hotel.

Seeing a concert at Mohegan Sun and wanted a reasonable priced hotel for the night between Sacred Heart University and Mohegan Sun. All hotels around Mohegan Sun were sooo expensive. Found this hotel and it was wonderful and an affordable price. Service and room were well worth the price. Beds were comfortable. No complaints.

The neighborhood wasn't the best but the hotel is a nice place, friendly staff, clean room and a comfortable bed. The price was a bit high but most of the places around there were sold out so I assume the prices went up.

First experience since a long time in the US with Best western, and the experience was good. Rooms ok, swimming pool, close to a Texas restaurant and a wall mart, friendly and very correct staff. ONly minus part is the poor breakfast, but otherwise to recommend

Hotel definitely clean and staff was friendly. But noisy A/C and cramped layout of bathroom made my stay uncomfortable. Price was fair for the accommodation. Location was easy on and easy off highway. But the hotel is next to a large business that has been closed and the parking area was a route of potholes to be avoided. Not the best of areas but I did not feel unsafe.

8 nights in this hotel and everything was excellent. food was great rooms were clean and comfortable and hotel staff was excellent. We had 8 rooms and the rate was fair even with 16 players no complaints about anything.. not even noise

Staff was very attentive to any needs. Rooms were neat & clean. Breakfast was very good, alot of choices. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. We would stay here again. It was also a convenient location to where we were going.

We decided to spend the night in Connecticut to get away from the rain. Chose a best Western as they were giving very good rates. The place was extremely clean, the rooms were spacious, they have free WiFi and they give you free breakfast. My only complaints - the eggs tasted not like eggs, they had no Splenda and the yogurt was never refilled, nor was the skim milk and the halls did not have AC! Walking in hall to elevator you can start to sweat!

This hotel was easy to get to from the highway. The check in staff were friendly and efficient. The accommodations were very clean. We had stayed at 3 other BW's on our trip and this one was, by far, the best. It was updated and in good repair. We couldn't complain about anything! Breakfast was the usual BW breakfast. Checkout was quick and easy. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

This hotel was easy to find, right off the highway. Our room faced away from the highway so I don't remember hearing any traffic noise. Restaurants are close. Breakfast is included. The room included a refrigerator & microwave. The room was clean and comfortable. We had no complaints!

I came for another relaxing and fun weekend in Connecticut. I stayed at my favourite hotel and had a wonderful time. I am so glad that I can stay at a place that I know exactly what I will get out of it. I always have fun here, a great workout and get great sleep. All of the things I look for when I am travelling. The customer service is always amazing and the staff are very reliable. Love it!

This property has declined rapidly. Everything is old and doesn't work properly. Management shrugs when told of things that don't work. Locked out of room twice due to malfunctioning card reader. Left a day early since it was just a horrible experience.

When I booked 3 rooms, I was promised one room with a roll in shower. Upon check in, I was advised that no room with a roll in shower was available I agreed to a standard handicapped accessible room. The shower did not work, which we found out the following morning. I was given 10% off. When I checked into the second room, the key didn't work after the initial use. We had to switch rooms. I was given 10% off this room. The breakfast was under stocked and the pancake maker was broken. The guests were all complaining that there was no food left. The attendant finally started to replenish the food after the guests went to the front desk to complain. There were not enough pool towels. And on the morning of checkout, I went to get a clean towel from my room and out fell a condom. The towels obviously weren't replenished. I've stayed at the Hampton Inn next door and feel that it is 100 times better and worth the extra money even got someone on a budget.

Best Western New Haven was a last minute book. After searching for multiple hotels in the area this was one of few with availability. Upon checking in I had to contact front desk to provide me with a vacuum cleaner....located near the Ac/heater unit there was quite a mess. The front desk was kind enough to provide me with a vacuum so I could take care of the issue alone....NO he didn't volunteer to do it! I kindly left the vacuum at the door upon completion. Located in the pics below you will see multiple pics of some sort of insect which my significant other complained about all night....complaints of itching and being bitten didn't allow him to sleep. I departed the facility not long after checking in being I was totally uncomfortable and had an assignment (work) that morning. I clocked in to work early!!!!! My significant other stayed later with slim to no other option available. Upon checking out he informed the front desk of his findings in which they didn't believe ??. I called and kindly spoke to whomever was working the front desk at that time. I asked for management to return my call. I'm a nurse and hygiene and cleanliness is a total must. I'm totally disappointed in their facility and currently awaiting for a response back regarding this issue. I will NEVER book here again!

We arrived way past check in, and the Front Desk was incredibly nice and helpful. Check in was smooth, and efficient. Our room was awesome. We had a double, very large yet cozy, business like yet personal. Bedding was very comfortable. The hotel was clean, and all staff was friendly. We did not use the pool or weight room however, we knew people that did and they were pleased as well. Continental breakfast in the morning was plentiful, tasty, and well maintained. The wi-fi was SUPER fast. Plenty of places within walking distance. I would return again without a doubt, and would highly recommend this hotel.

The bed was really dirty, with hair, black stuff and trash....when I asked to change the room they gave me a new one. Was little bit better but not perfect. Under the mattress was full of black crumbs, hair and trash.

We attended the Yale Graduation and stay;ed at the Best WEstern Hotel in West Haven. They offered the option of staying the number of nights we wanted and did not have a minimum stay which was very good. The room was clean, the service good and the drive to Yale was an easy drive.

The hotel was clean, staff was professional. In February when I booked the hotel my credit card was charged $193.48. The day we checked out I was presented a receipt for my stay, stating the charge was $128.79. That a difference of $64.69. I'm requesting a credit for $64.69. Please respond.

Windows on the top floor are floor to ceiling, so try and request a room on that floor! The room itself was fine, nothing fancy. Yes, you either have a view of the highway, or back onto the parking lot. The air was noisy, and cycled on and off, I remember waking up in the middle of the night because of it.

When we first checked in we could not get in bathroom, it was locked from the inside. They took door off hinges to fix but we couldn't close it because handle was loose and door stuck when closed. The A/c didn't work the first 2 days. There was old pizza in the refrigerator when we checked in. They didn't clean bathroom left all the dirty towels and didn't sweep it. 2 days they didn't change linens because the same makeup mark was still on the pillow cases. For a handicapped room it was small and hard to move around in the wheelchair. The TV would go and on everytime the microwave door was opened. I will not stay here again.

My daughter and I stayed here while vising the University of New Haven. The room was very large, clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and also very large. The water in the shower was a little tricky to maneuver before we figured out the controls. The hot was VERY HOT so just beware. Checking in was a bit unusual. The gentleman who checked us in was not very welcoming. In fact he didn't say anything to us except to ask for ID. However, the next morning at check out the woman was lovely - friendly and accommodating when we asked for directions. The breakfast was adequate. The hotel is very easy to find from the highway and there are a lot of restaurants/coffee shops around. I would definitely stay here again. Well worth the rate we paid.

Needs better breakfast items;Noisy at times. In town for a funeral and the desk staff stated they offered no funeral discounts.Most hotels do.Have stayed at better Best Westerns.Decor was nice and most of the staff was helpful.

This hotel was OK if you didn't want anything accept a place to stay. When the room was turned over for us nothing was refilled and I had to go ask and wait for supplies every single day. And I had to trip through the hotel every night for an ice machine or vending machine that was actually in order. As long as you don't have high expectations or expect anyone to speak English..or not very well at least...then it is a place you can sleep decent. And my advice is to skip breakfast and go to Denny's across the street.

This is a great hotel run by very friendly staff who really make us feel at home. It is clean & very convenient for shops & restaurants. We stay here whenever we can when touring the US. We have been coming here since 1991, coincidentally the year that the present owner took over. We have never been disappointed with the quality or the helpfulness of everyone.

The hotel is clean and appealing overall. It is a noisy location next to the interstate I95 and our room was right next to the elevator also yet the hotel was not nearly booked full. The room was clean and comfortable but the pillows were crazy thick like logs. Our room's ventilation/heater was vibrating and noisy when it kicked on. I probably should have left the fan running to block out some of the outside noise. Breakfast was adequate. Fluffy egg patties,sausages, bacon plus breads,muffins,oatmeal,cereal,yogurt etc. The automatic pancake maker was neat, and tasty enough.

For the room, if replacing bed sheets and blankets with new ones, the room will be much appealing. My wife and daughter don't want to stay here for our next trip because the bed sheets seemed not clean. For the breakfast items, they have been the same for all my previous stays. The sausage patties and egg cakes tasted awful. The chef did make bacon and scrambled eggs in one morning. That was because either the owner or the manger was eating there on that day. Staffs in the front desk are extremely nice! I know many of them. They were the reason I stayed here if I was in the trips myself.

I am always happy when I stay here. It does not matter how busy it is, or what time of the year it is, I can always count on great customer service and a wonderful visit. It is such a great place to relax because of how cozy, clean and comfortable it is which is my favourite part about this place. I also have great options to stay in shape while I am here. It is great to see that good things don't change.

As a longtime business traveler, I look for the best places to stay and work from. The Best Western Executive in West Haven is just that. The Owner, Manager, and Front Desk staff all work to provide business travelers everything they need. A great work station in the comfortable lobby, rooms with a desk, super-fast wifi, USB hookups, extra plugs for laptops, phones and media, along with ample space to work, is all designed with us in mind. Smart breakfast choices, a well-equipped gym and relaxing indoor pool all help to unwind. Coffee is available all day and night, and plenty of machines offer all the snacks and soda choices you want. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is crystal clean. Each room has a flat screen TV and most have a huge plush leather chair with ottoman. The hotel is located right off of I-95 and minutes from New Haven, Bridgeport, and the Brandford area. I use this location to work from Stamford to Groton, the coastline up to Middletown. Priced right for business travelers, it is seconds from the Texas Roadhouse and minutes from Wooster Street in New Haven. Orange offers tons of great eats minutes away on Rte. 1. I really can't recommend this place enough. It will not let you down.

Will stay at Best Western Hotels & Resorts when I travel in the future. The room was nice size, we had 2 queen size beds that was very conformable. the breakfast we had pancakes that was printed out by a machine, they were light and fluffy. The location of the hotel was accessible from interstate 95. The hotel was also located near shopping center and places to eat in walking distant.

This was a great hotel for our needs - quiet, very comfortable bed, above average continental breakfast (included eggs, sausage, pancakes, etc.). Our only disappointment was the temperature of the pool -- the night we stayed was freezing outside, and we picked the Best Western specifically because it had a heated indoor pool for us to use. We couldn't stay in the pool very long though, as the pool itself was lukewarm and the air temperature of the room with the pool in it was freezing. Other than that, great value for our stay.

Very helpful staff. My room was always in order and very clean. When I called for reservations directly to the hotel, they couldn't make it easier. I stayed there for 8 months. I stayed in Singles, doubles and King singles, every room style was great.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a good night sleep. It's right next to I-95 and all you hear is the traffic all night. I couldn't sleep at all! I went there because it was close to my son's college and we went to visit him. But I was tired all day from lack of sleep!Never again!!

I was up for a track meet for my teenager. The rooms were small, but very well set up so it didn't feel cramped. I stayed in a room with a single queen, but it had a couch and desk, so I was able to relax during our down time. The hotel was very quiet. I was there with a lot of high school students and families, and I never heard any noise.

For where it is and what you get the price is right. This hotel sits less than 25 yards from I 95 and you can hear the traffic Ask for a room on the non traffic side It is very clean with 100s of tv channels to watch if your stuck there all day as I was. Front desk staff was very kind and let me check out late without charging extra. When I'm back in West Haven this will be "my" hotel Liam & Colleen New York

Typical low budget hotel. So-so rooms. Small room, small bathrooms, could use updating. Not quiet. Housekeeping walked in without knocking. Off the highway location. There are better, nicer hotels in the area around the same price.

excelent hotel i recomend...nice pool nice people and places in and outside the place the room and hall way is quite plesent. i have injoyed my stay and the breakfast. thye outside sitting area is a cool place to be. the hotel in general was fantastic i injoyed every second of it

This review is in two parts: the hotel itself and its surroundings. The hotel was nice enough. The front desk was polite and the price was reasonable given the proximity to New Haven. We only stayed one night before heading to Rhode Island so we didn't make use of the pool or fitness room. I didn't eat breakfast at the hotel because I wasn't feeling well but my wife said she liked what was offered. As far as directly outside the hotel, color me worried. First, the front of the hotel faces I-95 and you can hear the highway regardless of what side of the hotel you're on. Second, to get to the hotel, you have to drive through a broken parking lot and between an abandoned building and a modestly run-down plaza. Compared to everything else around here, this was a big unsettling. I assume the hotel right next door has the same problems, but they have direct access to the main road...just saying.

Because you're near the highway you hear traffic noise, you hear that even at the 'pricy' hotel next door. Housekeeping needs to upgrade a little as there was evidence that the room hadn't been 'thoroughly' cleaned. Also there was a stale odor and the bedframe wasn't put together properly. But, it was a place to sleep and the breakfast was great!

I would recommend BEST WESTERN EXECUTIVE HOTEL for being so nice and clean hotel. The staff were awesome and Jocelyn was helpful .I had a great time and will surely comeback. Breakfast was good too, . Thank you

There was hair on three of the pillows and what looked like make up. It was nice that when I called to the front desk, they almost immediately sent up clean pillowcases. The vending machines were almost all empty in the stairwells. The front desk clerks were very nice.

This is my favorite hotel to visit when I am in Connecticut because of how clean, comfortable and convenient it is for me. The staff are always wonderful and make my stay enjoyable. Great customer service, lovely hotel, great location, what more can you ask for.

This hotel is very ugly from the outside (reminds me of an old Armory) but surprisingly it was quite nice inside. Very well maintained and comfortable inside. Rooms were large, well appointed and clean. It was very quiet and we got a good nice rest. Had min refrigerator, coffee maker, wifi, hairdryer, flat screen tv, etc. Staff was very pleasant and efficient. We did enjoy our stay here would probably stay here again if we were in the area.

I had to go to this area for my son, as he had surgery at the VA. His stay was covered by the VA and I had booked a room for the duration of his stay. The front desk was very friendly and accommodating. This hotel was a short drive from the hospital, and made the stay easier. It had a frig and microwave and that I found useful too.

Called down to front desk during the night, spoke with Nor. Complained about restless sleep caused by very loud and constant noise now coming from outside my window (room 405) coming from I-95 caused by mostly heavy tractor trailer traffic occurring (4 a.m.). Asked if there were any rooms in hotel on the other side that did not face the interstate that I can get into, crawl into bed and try to get 4-5 hours of sleep before checking out in the morning to drive down to Washington DC area, my destination layer today. I was told yes there were rooms on my floor that were much quieter, however I would be charged for both rooms, mine is less then $200 a night. This is TERRIBLE customer service during the middle of the night with no manager to speak too, just awful! I pleaded with Nor to please let me quickly get into another room so I can crawl right into bed without having to pack up everything first and move my personal belongings that would require me to go down to the lobby to acquire a luggage cart to accomplish this. Her answer was very firm yet polite, either move all my belongings now or be charged for two rooms for remaining hours I have left here. I just want to get some sleep for 4-5 hours is all. I came too this hotel in the evening without an advanced reservation. While driving west on I-95 with bad weather (very dark, heavy rain and wind) and construction on the highway in which vehicles were not staying in their lanes) I felt it very unsafe to continue driving and check into a hotel immediately. I enjoyed a late dinner at Texas Roadhouse around the corner from this 100 room hotel and when I arrived back, there's was not any noticable highway traffic noise as there is now. Under the circumstances, this hotel could have easily accommodated me, but refused too assist. I would not stay here every again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I will in the very near future post this same review on all the other travel related websites, including Expedia's Hotels.Com from which I booked this hotel from inside the lobby with since the rate I was quoted at the front desk even with AAA and AARP membership discounts wad higher. FYI from looking at the number of cars parked outside, this hotel has plenty of vacant rooms I could have been switched into. I will talk to management later this morning.

Pros: Proximity to 95 so getting into New Haven was great, cost, clean (when they cleaned), basic breakfast (so for not a big breakfast eater like me it was fine), had micro/fridge in the room which was nice, quiet. Cons: They didn't clean my room. I was gone for 5 hrs, came back for 1 hr to shower, then left for 7 hrs and they never touched it. When I went to the front desk that evening they said did you take your do not disturb off I said yes and I said I had it turned to please clean my room. Because I was the very last room in the hall my guess was they didn't bother to see what the tag said, just saw that there was a tag on the door, and didn't bother to clean it. The next day i took the tag completely off. The sheets were SUPER scratchy, and I had a broken ironing board in my room that apparently upon check in at 4pm no one could replace until 9am the next day. The TV flicked on and off randomly, the hallways smell of smoke and the phone in the room doesn't work to call down to the front desk.

This Establishment is well run and has everything I need to make me relax and feel at home. Friendly and professional staff ,great breakfast, close to shopping and freeway access. The rooms are very comfortable the workout room is excellent as is the swimming pool. The owner Andy is very pleasant and is really caring about your stay there. I enjoy each stay at this Hotel

I stayed here overnight as part of a tour group. The rooms were clean, but this place is right along the interstate so unless you like the sound of trucks going by look elsewhere. Also there were no working vending machines on any floor of the hotel. Breakfast was average.

This was our last night of a 21 day tour of New England. We stayed over as a base before moving on to fly home. The hotel was very clean and quiet. Good room with everything we needed. Adequate breakfast although not a vast choice.

After traveling 500 miles and enduring bumper to bumper traffic from New York to Connecticut, my husband and I decided we needed a break. I started looking for a place to spend the night and decided to try the Best Western just off the Interstate at West Haven. Our stay at the Best Western was pleasant and restful. Our room was clean and comfortable. However, the breakfast items were not very appealing. It was obvious that other travelers felt the same as the oatmeal was the only item that seemed to have been eaten. Close by the hotel was a Texas Roadhouse for dinner, and a Walmart to pick up a few supplies. To get to the Best Western was a bit odd. You have to drive through what seems to a large parking lot for other businesses.

Complimentary breakfast. Fresh, hot pancakes are very good! The rooms are neat and clean. I was happy to see that they do not have full bedspreads (for cleanliness reasons). It is very close to I-95. The staff is very friendly. Free wi-fi!! Great for an overnight stop!

Pulling up to this hotel, you go through a lot of an abandoned building and it is not a great introduction to the hotel. The lobby is small but inviting. The front desk staff was always smiling, friendly and very helpful. The right elevator was out of order the three days we stayed there. There was a handwritten sign on the door stating it was out of order when we arrived, but it was removed later. However, the elevator remained out of operation the entire time we were there, That being said, our wait for the elevator, with only one working, was acceptable. We stayed on the 7th floor and the hallway had a musty, stale odor. The door handle would stick on our door, making difficult to enter/exit. The room was clean with no odors. The air conditioning was set for 60 and on full blast when we arrived, making the room frigid. The air conditioner was loud and turned on and off frequently during the night (set at 71), which could be disruptive to good night sleep for a light sleeper. The room was updated and modern. Desk, chair, bench/luggage holder, leather chair and ottoman - typical of a hotel room. There were no outlets on my side of the bed and the two on the other side were used by the lights and clock. Bed was comfortable, pillows were perfect for me - not too flat or fluffy. I am allergic to down and the room was down free. Bathroom was small but clean. Toilet required several flushes to empty. The room was quiet (besides the A/C). I did not hear other guests. Breakfast was included. Great assortment of teas and coffee. Breakfast included pancakes you make yourself, round eggs and sausage patties that appeared to be microwaved (perfect to make a bagel sandwich), bagels and breads, yogurt (high sugar content), pre-made oatmeal (with Craisins, raisins and brown sugar available), oatmeal packets, juices, danishes, apples and bananas. Options were very limited for a diabetic. Checkout was quick and there is express checkout available. There is a Dunkin Donuts and a Subway right in front of the hotel and a Walmart across the street. We visited the University of New Haven Campus, as well as Yale - both only a few minutes away. I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a clean, reasonable place to stay and are not fussy about breakfast.

Our son attends the University of New Haven and this is our second overnight stay in the area - both times at this hotel. I agree with some that the curb appeal definitely needs some improvement. However, the front desk staff was pleasant both times and the breakfast was pretty decent. Our room was clean, air conditioning worked perfectly, and floor was quiet. For an overnight stay hotel/room was fine. Although this might sound like an average review (3) I gave it a (4) for the cleanliness of the room, hot breakfast and free Wifi.
