"Very good hotel"
Carolinaaaaa, 01 Octobre 2018

Stayed couple of days while visiting family. Friendly attentive staff, clean, good quality rooms, very comfortable beds, quiet surrounding and excellent food I must say especially the bfast buffet. Highly recommended especially for the price you pay in comparison to other hotels.

"Fantastic staff....."
AdairMacfaralane, 28 Septembre 2018

The staff were so friendly and helpful, I was genuinely impressed, the level of service was well beyond my expectations of a hotel in the UK. I went to the front desk several times for a series of queries and each time greeted with friendly smile, nothing was too much trouble, the customer service made me feel that I should commend the hotel staff on TripAdvisor in particular Dorota. In my opinion a shining example of how customer service 'should' be, Impressed VERY.

"Nice hotel with funky carpets"
yorkiejames, 18 Septembre 2018

Stayed overnight on business trip. On arrival I couldn't keep my eyes off the crazy carpets. Was like stepping back in time (although I wasn't alive in the 70's I imagine those carpets would have fit in nicely back then). The rooms were large and weirdly had a double and a single bed in them. Couldn't fault the beds as really comfy and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was very good with a decent choice available. Would be 5 out of 5 but the room was red hot. I know the recent warm weather is probably a one off but the lack of air con did make the room very stuffy (although a fan was provided which was good). Will be visiting the area regularly with work and would stay in this hotel again in the future.

"A fabulous wedding"
Sophie B, 31 Août 2018

Me (sophie) & Michael had our fabulous wedding here. The staff had done a fabulous job at making it pretty and making the day run like clock work. But the biggest thank you should go to kaska the entertainment manager that was also a big part of our special day. We couldn't of done it without her. Lovely lady and we will miss her little meetings that much that we have decided to come back and book a room on our anniversary. We would recommend this lovely place for anything to anyone.

"Great value for money. Comfortable accomodation "
mlanaka, 22 Août 2018

Nice clean room. Late check in. Nice grounds. Love the on tap soaps no running out of them little bottles. All in all great value for money on a last minute stay. Very clean bathroom. It is hidden away but easy enough to find. Loved the water at reception and the coffee and tea tray was brimming with beverages plus some biscuits. I stay in many hotels and although not 4 star decor it is by far one of the best value for money I've had recently.

"wow England 1966 world cup"
lorraine d, 20 Août 2018

what a fab hotel my sons wedding was near by so booked in for the weekend we booked a studio with kitchen and a adapted room for my mum and mother in law both in 80s both with cancer unfortunately my mum was taken in to hospital so my mothering law had room to herself with shower seat a extra heater and finch doors that lead to a patio area with seating , she has trouble with swallowing and the dining room staff went out of their way to find yougurts flavours she likes , mean while our room the charlton suite was lovely my husband was made up his foot ball hero , the hotel was full of stuff from the 1966 world cup as the squad stayed there , my grandson was so excited by it all , the staff were wonderful always smiling and going the extra mile , even understanding our party needs and making sure rooms were ready on our arrival at midday when check in was 2pm , the breakfast was amazing good quality ingredients , cooked well , and so much choice will be returning again and again would not think of staying anywhere else when visiting my son and family who have moved to the area , LOVE this HOTEL

"Why English hotels can't have air conditioning?"
MadridUK, 20 Août 2018

The hotel is nice and has history (1966 world cup) but the stay gets tarnished by the lack of air conditioning on one of the very hot days this summer. A fan is provided, but my afternoon sun faced room couldn't get any cool. Next morning, when I came back from breakfast to the room, I could still sense several degrees more than in the corridor. Otherwise a nice place, with a big car park and a very nice bar, just don't come during heatwaves...

"Mrs KT"
kirst0710, 16 Août 2018

Very nice, clean hotel with a lovely garden area to enjoy what was a very hot couple of days. All the staff were very friendly & attentive. Rooms were spacious & spotlessly clean. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend. Food was also delicious.

"It was OK - but nothing special"
Bubbles73uk, 15 Août 2018

The hotel is about as well hidden as you can make it - it's quite literally in the middle of a residential housing estate. First impressions weren't good as it looks like some kind of institution like a hospital or a nurses home. There was also no parking as the car park was full with 14 BT Openreach vans. When I made the booking it was in the middle of the hot weather so I wanted to have air-conditioning in the room - however I was told if I wanted air con I would have to upgrade to an Executive room. If what I had was an Executive room I dread to think what an ordinary room was like. I was right up in the attic on the 4th floor - the lift only goes to the 3rd floor so all the "Executives" then have to carry their cases up a flight of stairs. The room had a sloping roof which I absolutely hate as it gives the impression the ceiling is closing in on you. Other than that the room was quite light but not particularly modern in design -overall I would describe it as small but OK. Lots of lovely hot water with the shower. Food- I ordered room service & breakfast and dinner were both OK (though when I ordered dinner - chicken wrapped with parma ham - I asked if it came with vegetables - meaning greens - & was told yes - it arrived with nothing other than mashed potato). All the staff - especially the guy who brought my room service - were lovely. Overall I'll give this hotel a 5 out of 10.

"Good room for price "
ct1080, 09 Août 2018

Had a one night stay and was welcome with nice customer service . The room is nice and just right for the price . I would say that some of the furniture could do with an upgrade but overall a nice stay .

"Absolutely the BEST. By Suzanne Mead"
Sue M, 01 Août 2018

I arrived here on Saturday afternoon 28th July. Had booked through Priceline. The hotel rate was much cheaper. A lesson learnt, check with the hotel directly as very often they will either match or have special offers. From the moment I arrived I was treated with absolute courtesy and the staff especially Daniel did everything to make my stay outstanding. I had booked a double, but the mattress was a little hard. I was immediately offered an alternative. Daniel then offered me the Lake Room for a small extra charge per day. The room is absolutely gorgeous. 5*. Beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, and I have a beautiful curved floor to ceiling window with access to the gardens. The staff here are all so polite and helpful, they go the extra mile to provide the guests with any requests. I have booked another week as I cannot praise this hotel enough. Only issue and it's mine is I don't have a car. So travelling is difficult as the hotel is in the suburbs. That's not the hotels fault as it's so peaceful. I would definitely stay here forever. It's a beautiful room, and have exceptional staff who have made me feel welcome from the day I arrived. Thank you Best Western and thank you Daniel. Wonderful place to stay.

"Great stay"
jujitman100, 26 Juillet 2018

I have stayed at this hotel through choice on a number of occasions due to business. I have always felt welcome as the service and polite professionalism is at a high level here. The rooms are of a good standard and at last a hotel with working / quiet air con. A particular bonus right now. Attentive appropriate staff in the bar and restaurant make it a relaxing stay so thanks again. Would recommend for business or leisure.

"Our Wedding (7th July)"
PaulaRob2018, 16 Juillet 2018

We would like to thank Kaska and all the staff that contributed to making our wedding the best day ever! Everything went perfectly (even the football between the ceremony and wedding breakfast!) all of our guests had nothing but favourable comments, and we would not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone! Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for the excellent staff! A lovely setting on a lovely day. Thank you so much Kaska and team x

"Our Wedding Venue"
Trudi E, 01 Juillet 2018

The hotel was the venue for our wedding and if could give this hotel a 10 star rating I would! Absolutely everything was perfect. Simply stunning setting, amazing food, staff attentive, friendly and warm. Bedrooms immaculate. Our every request catered for by our Events Manager. We can't thank you enough Homestead. You ensured our wedding day was memorable for all the right reasons and these comments are echoed by our 100 guests! Well done, your team are a credit to you Best Western.

"Very good value hotel"
Alan R, 30 Juin 2018

It seemed a good price for a room so close to London so I was unsure what the hotel would be like. I was very pleasantly surprised. There was a nice friendly welcome. My room was up-graded so I cannot comment on the room I should have received. The room I had was immaculate with everything I needed for an overnight stay. I chose to eat my evening meal in the bar. It was typical bar food but presented well and the portion size was good. Breakfast was very good. The hotel is located in a quiet part of the town with a park next door. There is a well kept garden at the back of the property. My experience was good and I would recommend this hotel as being of good value.

"Nice and friendly staff"
RPK1990, 24 Juin 2018

Stayed here for two nights, friendly and helpful staff. The elevator is pretty cramped and only goes up to the third floor. I had to walk up a flight of steps with my heavy suitcase. Not easy. I was offered help but did not realize how difficult it was going to be. I walked up and down the stairs rather than take the elevator rest of my stay. My room was newly renovated with modern bathroom and nice and clean. It was a hot day and I was happy they had air conditioning. Wish they had kept the room cooler before guest arrival. I liked my room and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant served a good selection of food and wine. My server was very friendly and I had so much fun talking to her. The gardens were beautiful and a nice place to sit out and relax. The staff helped me with my suitcase when I checked out. Nice and friendly place to stay.

"party time"
florinelsolomon, 21 Juin 2018

"First time"
carolinecJ1527LH, 13 Juin 2018

This austere looking building in a quiet area was a pleasant surprise. The garden is beautiful and well tended. The room had all we needed, was comfortable and you could open the window which I always think is a bonus in a hotel. Feather pillows were provided when I asked and the staff were friendly and efficient. We ate in the bar and the food was excellent, well presented and the portions were generous.

"Helpful staff and great room"
greyseal70, 09 Juin 2018

We stayed for one night while attending a family event nearby so cannot comment on the food. However the reception staff member was efficient and helpful. We were able to arrange to book in early and were upgraded. A taxi was booked for us for our trip out. All of this took some of the usual stress out of organising our day. Our room was a good size and spotlessly clean with patio doors out onto the gardens. All the usual provisions including iron and hairdryer. It was a great stay and next time we are in the area we will certainly go again.

"Super hotel, excellent staff"
sandra d, 06 Juin 2018

Fourth or fifth time we have stayed here when visiting family and enjoying the area. Excellent staff, efficient and friendly. Excellent rooms, air-conditioned, great breakfast. Didn't have time to use the restaurant on this occasion, due to family lunches and dinners. Will be back!

"Comfortable and Clean"
Susan P, 05 Juin 2018

The location was ideal for visiting our family. We were very surprised and delighted with reception area as I taking my mother who is always fussy where she stays. Very quick check in. At a 5* hotel I have been kept waiting a long time. The lift was useful for the bags to the 2nd floor. The rooms were very clean spacious with a 3/4 bed and a single so had a choice. There was a freestanding fan for our comfort and we needed it on all night as it was very hot both nights. Loved the shower nice fittings with separate toilet and wash basin area. Thick white fluffy towels.Slip mat for the shower.Dressing gown. Two easy chairs desk because table set of drawers and built-in wardrobe Inside which was an ironing board iron. The lighting was very good. Clean carpets plenty of tea and coffee.Large kettle. The beds and pillows were really comfortable. For us it was quiet and comfortable good TV and a reasonable price. Cannot comment on the good as we had room only for 2 night's over a weekend. The reception staff were helpful when we asked for 2 extra pillows. The only negative for me was the combined hair and body wash fixed on the wall made our skin itch. Shall take our own next time. We will return again as we could not fault the accomadation. We only had a standard room and have had poor experience in 4* hotels.

"Low quality, shabby hotel"
eclarke33, 03 Juin 2018

Thankfully we only stayed one night. The room was apparently a suite but was tiny with the smallest ensuite I've ever seen. Bed was small and only had 2 old squashed pillows, windows were broken, thankfully there was air-con. The towels were frayed and looked grey and old. Breakfast was below average I love sausages but was not prepared to try one of theirs, scrambled eggs were watery, the beans were ok thankfully. Staff were pleasant and this hotel could be lovely but it really needs an overhaul it is desperately old and dated and rather tatty.

"JS"
weejill, 25 Mai 2018

The hotel is dated with little sign of the upgrade/ refurbishments the hotel has been advising of. For a hotel with trade driven by business customers the very ltd room service offering is disappointing. The staff are friendly / helpful & the rooms are clean. It's main benefit is its proximity to Tesco Head Office.

"Not comfortable and expensive for what it is."
Kalyan1975, 21 Mai 2018

Stayed here on business but the hotel is a little old and seems too expensive for what it is. My friends and colleagues had the same reaction who traveled with me. The rooms and furniture are a little older but rooms are cleanly maintained. Service is not perfect either. Reception is good but the staff at the breakfast is a bit arrogant and dont seem to take care of the guests that well. Bread gets on fire when you try to toast it and it happened to multiple guests there in front of me. If you don't care about all the issues, it's an ok hotel.

"Extremely Poor"
nedulouis, 18 Mai 2018

The hotel facilities are in a very poor condition. With water leaking from shower tub and bed not properly fitted hence moves at every opportunity. Typically when you request steak and you want it properly done it should not have any sight of blood.

"The Best!!"
Ant H, 09 Mai 2018

Where do I start?!?! Staff are absolutely fabulous and obviously well trained to deal with the public. Having been in Italy and France it was a great change to have perfection as required. My kids were happy and the food was awesome. Rooms spacious and cleanliness above par. I'm a fault finder generally and I couldn't find one here. Very much recommended.

"Pleasant stay "
DaveHodges, 06 Mai 2018

Booked for a wedding in the area and the Hotel looked splendid in the sunshine. Receptionist informed us of everything we needed to know, we had the Welwyn room which was pleasant enough, but a disabled shower room. Might be worth knowing in advance for some. Breakfast was normal fare. I particularly enjoyed the ‘stein' offer with the beer and as a football fan was pleasantly surprised by the memorabilia displayed, I didn't know!... I can't say I didn't enjoy this hotel, it's lovely. If I had a complaint be hard to find. Ah. Maybe some more towels, 2 relatively small ones for two people. At the time I thought it was slightly overpriced but on reflection the tranquility and pleasant disposition more than made up for it. A mini bar would be a welcome addition too.

"Very Nice stay"
lauremelvilledavid, 04 Mai 2018

Tucked away in a very quiet area of Welwyn Garden City it has a calm peaceful feeling. The reception staff was excellent and I would like to give a big thanks to Javier who did help me with my room and had a very professional attitude to my issue....I had the room 401 (under the roof), it was so quiet (very much appreciated), very clean, very confy bed and pillows. I had the morning sun to wake me up which was really nice. No outside noise or door banging. Dinner was very good (I am a very fussy vegetarian), the services staff was very nice and helpull. Really nothing to say but just to ensure the room are not cold when you get enter. I regularly come to welwyn for business and I would definitely come back at some point.

"Nice hotel, but due to our disturbed night I'll avoid in future"
42BorlacePG42, 02 Mai 2018

Our room was a nice size. The reception areas attractive and the staff friendly and helpful. Nice bar. Building kept in good decorative order. But the Hotel also has conference facilities and during our stay there was a party with their guests staying overnight . These guests (unsurprisingly) were very noisy having a good time. Unfortunately this noise, plus slamming doors continued right through to 4 a.m. This defeated our objective of getting a good night sleep. Attempts to contact staff late at night were met by a messaging service - i.e. no staff on site overnight. So its a good hotel so long as it isn't hosting an all-night event during your stay. Worth phoning ahead before booking - unless you're invited to the party!

"Very impressed"
Stuart J, 29 Avril 2018

The staff are wonderful. The girl on check in helpful and the gentleman serving in the lounge in the evening very efficient and served quickly. Meal very tasty and good value for money. Hotel is comfortable and in a good position. I was upgraded to a lovely room. Thank you. I am a Diamond select member of the loyalty scheme and I was treated as if I was valued customer. I was grateful for this. Not all best western hotels make an effort.....but this one does!! It was a very cold night and the bedroom cosy and warm. The bed very comfortable and the room clean. A huge TV too. I would come back for a longer stay

"Friendly and good value"
Hanna1112, 25 Avril 2018

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend. We had a family room. It was clean and tidy and had a good bathroom. Only fault, it was very warm. The breakfast was good, it was filling and kept us going all day. The garden was lovely to sit and relax in, we were lucky with the weather. We were at an event at the hotel on the Saturday night, it was well organised and enjoyed by all. The staff throughout out our stay were friendly and helpful.

"Feels like home"
Amanda Jane C, 23 Avril 2018

When you travel a lot with business and finally stumble upon an hotel that feels as comfortable as home, you know you've discovered THE right place! Tucked away in a very quiet area of Welwyn Garden City it has a calm peaceful feel... from the moment you drive in to when you leave. The staff at reception are welcoming and friendly and yes do all the usual introductions, but go beyond and made me feel like an individual, not just a guest! My room was on the top floor, the suite, and was wonderful. A very natural feel to the decoration and furnishings, which suit my taste and style. Very spacious area to work in, with more than sufficient power sockets, including free WiFi. Lots of natural light from two windows with gentle window dressings. A seating area to relax with a TV (which I don't use so am unable to comment on the channels offered). A lovely area of carpeted floor for me to place my yoga mat and practise, without the distraction of restricted space for movement. Very comfortable king size bed (I slept all night and woke with my alarm!). The bathroom is wonderful... a large room, again with natural lighting from a window, a great seated area with light and mirror. In my opinion this was like home from home of me, which is just what I need when I am away. I had the full English breakfast which is self service, again my preference, which was hot, had a large variety and was very tasty. Staff in the breakfast room again were friendly and welcoming. A great experience and this is now my hotel of choice so I shall definitely be back.

"Overnight stay"
Val W, 20 Avril 2018

Very pleasant stay. Room was very comfortable and clean. I had booked an executive suite, and was pleasantly surprised with the amenities provided. The location was lovely, overlooking a park and was very quiet. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast provided was lovely. It was only a short stay, but would recommend, and will definitely book again in the future when visiting Welwyn Garden City.

"Visited from Australia - daughter's wedding"
Donna F, 14 Avril 2018

Our daughter's wedding was held here and we travelled from Australia for a 9 night stay. Check in was quick and easy and the staff member assisted us with luggage and greeted us by name. Plenty of room to park our hired car. Room (104) was comfortable, clean, warm and well appointed for an older style English hotel and overlooked the back garden and playing fields. Local village shops were close (2 mins) and city centre was an 8 min drive away as was the free use of Goslings Sports Park gym. Internet connectivity was very good. Good selection of buffet breakfast foods including cereals, fruit, juices, hot selection and cold meats and cheeses. The bridal suite was fabulous and the hairdressers, makeup artists, photographer and videographers were able to tend to the large bridal party on the wedding day. Several guests from parts of UK also stayed at the property. The Event Co-ordinator Kaska was available to us in the days preceding for last minute arrangements. The gardener ensured the garden area was freshly mowed and even planted some extra flowers. Nothing was a problem and staff were responsive to all our requests/needs. On the day the wedding was amazing and the crew and catering staff swung into action like a well oiled machine. We had 120 guests, a PicMe photo booth, a DJ, a sweets table and plenty of happy guests. Best Western Homestead Court and Welwyn Garden City folk made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this venue for conference, events and wedding. Thank you to Kaska and Managing Director Nabil for a great stay and a memorable family event. Donna and Stewy

"My Son's Wedding Celebrations 6th April 2018"
2008dave1503, 09 Avril 2018

We held my son's wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast at the Homestead Court Hotel. We could not have asked for a better day. Everything ran like clockwork. The function rooms looked stunning, the food was amazing. All the staff worked tirelessly. the bedrooms were nice too. If you are looking for a wedding or party venue, I would definitely recommend it here.

"Nice and Cosy"
VOYAGE2015, 01 Avril 2018

Wonderful stay as always. Although new staff this time around yet i was welcomed with the signature Homestead Court smile. Clean, comfortable and well appointed room. Splendid view of the gardens and great internet connectivity.

"Lovely Hotel With Very Kind Staff"
Tom S, 20 Mars 2018

Stayed here on business Sunday to Thursday for 8 weeks and got to know these guys really well. Managed to negotiate a cheaper rate for the long term business and they were very accommodating of me and all of my colleagues. The hotel is lovely, very comfortable beds and warm rooms. Would highly recommend this hotel for both short and long stays. It's nice and close to town and you get use of a nearby local gym too (Goslings Sports Park) which we all found very useful! Thanks guys! Love #SP60

Such a beautiful hotel. Staff were so welcoming .rooms were so comfortable and beautifully decorated . Food excellent . The breakfast and dinner were superb . "Lovely stay, again! "

"Comfortable but dated"
Hector7777, 11 Janvier 2018

Firstly it's not the easiest to find without a sat nav. While there may have been a BW logo revamp the hotel rooms are dated but clean. Beds are just acceptable and not that comfortable, and nowhere near the standard in other well known budget hotels, one plus is the quiet location. Evening meals are a strange arrangement and are only served at low tables in the bar. We were told by different staff this was because the restaurant was set up for breakfast and we couldn't eat there though we did spot a couple eating in the restaurant, staff were adamant, no restaurant. Personally I find it difficult to eat dinner at a low table and for this reason I won't ever return. While it wasn't a comfortable meal the quality of food was quite good but what a way to treat guests as they still charge full restaurant prices not reduced bar prices. We had a couple of glasses of wine, this is very cheap plonk, horrible and not worth the money, best to avoid wine here. Breakfast is basic and apart from some fresh fruit there were few healthy options, for example only high sugar cereals plus usual fried offerings.

"Very good "
Emma D, 11 Janvier 2018

Spacious room, clean, nice bar menu. Very comfortable, was working away in nearby Hatfield and travelling solo. Staff were professional. Breakfast was good but having hot drinks served would have been good to fit in keeping with environment and save leaving my bag at my seat to reserve my table as was not given table either just told to sit anywhere. Would recommend. Thank you

"Convenient lovely hotel"
hass52, 11 Janvier 2018

We found this hotel to be very nice, clean and friendly. The food was nice and the price is very reasonable for the service you are getting. The Bar at the lobby are efficient and try there best to please.

"Enjoyable Stay"

Always a pleasure to stay during my business trips to the area. A home away from home with friendly and professional staff who always look to go out of their way to assist with my requirements. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is always very good.

I have stayed here several times and never regretted. It is affordable, comfortable, clean and breakfast is generous. Well done to the management and staff. "Great stop on our travels (room only)"
Lisorlin, 01 Janvier 2018

We stopped here for just one night and asked for interconnecting rooms. The rooms that we had were in the annex and were interconnecting - one had a small double and a single bed and the other had a king. This was fine for our family of 5 and allowed the two youngest to share a bed (We asked for an additional single duvet so they didn't have to fight for covers and this was provided quickly). These two rooms were disabled access rooms and the shower rooms were large and appeared well equipped for this purpose to the untrained eye. The staff we met were very courteous and the value for money was good for these rooms. We did not have breakfast here.

"Clean and comfortable."
paulce2016, 27 Décembre 2017

Nice hotel, a bit basic but with some good quality fixtures. Didn't get to try the food or drink because both the bar and restaurant were closed when I stayed at Christmas. The room it self was fine, would have been nice to have had a complimentary drink in the room, after all it was Christmas!!

"Homely, welcoming Venue"
sandrabest2017, 11 Décembre 2017

I stay here often on business, and the staff are so friendly, welcoming and very courteous. The rooms are cosy and the food is home made and of good standard. Although not a modern venue, the bathrooms are all updated and rooms really clean, with a big fluffy dressing gown in each room.

"comfortable and great staff"
anoushkascotland, 10 Décembre 2017

Great hotel and the food was really good in the bar, the hotel is quiet and the rooms are clean and comfortable, it is close to the shopping centre which is really good, the staff are really friendly and make you really feel at home.

"Another pleasant stay here "
David M, 08 Décembre 2017

We really enjoyed our stay at the Homestead Court again. We were visiting family in Welwyn, but I travelled into London easily from the station, and went to the Emirates stadium. Our room was very spacious, clean and well decorated and appointed. Large television, handy kettle, plenty of shower gel in a dispenser, as well as separate quality shampoo and conditioner in a really nice bathroom. Friendly and competent staff, nice bar and restaurant. Good hotel and reasonable prices.

"such helpful staff"
RobinShohet, 26 Novembre 2017

I was on a four day course at this hotel. The food was excellent but most of all nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were courteous and friendly and they helped to make the stay a very worthwhile one. Thank you to them

"Best loo roll around"
stonecoldtraveller, 16 Novembre 2017

Stayed here a few days unfortunately not everything was to my taste! The food wasn't great, a couple of undercooked meals and just not much seasoning on anything. Rooms are not very soundproof so the could hear everything going wrong in the bathroom next to my room which was not pleasant to say the least the person did not sound like they were having a good time at all! But onto the plus's the service was brilliant especially from trainee he is the jewel of the hotel and of all my years of travelling the toilet roll was best I've ever wiped with I left with a very happy bottom thanks to everyone at best western I can now sit comfortably!

"Excuse me , so sorry !"
adblueisjustpigspiss, 16 Novembre 2017

I really enjoyed my stay here and it is all because of a young man named trainee, from the moment I arrived he took me under his wing and taught me many lessons in life, I now owe my life to trainee and will fight for his honour till the day I am now longer of this earth, thank you trainee !

"‘Sorry.. excuse me'"
dave_lister101, 16 Novembre 2017

Firstly let me say ‘excuse me' ‘sorry' The hotel itself was fine, however the staff were absolutely superb especially a young man who went by the name of Trainee. The level of service provided by Trainee was second to none and he could not have been more helpful and accommodating, I would recommend this member of staff to anyone and personally promote them if it was within my power. Thanks again Trainee, you have been truly amazing and made my stay a memorable one ??

"Family visit"

"Party - Saturday 21st October 2017"
klyall2015, 25 Octobre 2017

We had our son's 13th birthday party at the HCH for 99 guests. The function room looks fantastic... this was the email I sent to the General Manager .. ***** I just wanted to write to let you know that the hotel was fantastic Saturday night. You should be very proud of your team and I have had the most lovely feedback regarding the hotel/staff/food/rooms. Just to clarify - your team were helpful, smiley and nothing was too much when asked. The food - canapes and buffet: delicious, nicely presented and plenty of it! (I did speak to a chef Sunday morning who I believe was also working Saturday night to thank her), but please can you pass my thanks on to the Chef again as he suggested different canapes (i has only chosen cold and he suggested some hot too). Function Room - laid out and looked beautiful. Kaska - an absolute pleasure to deal with. Overall ... you have one happy customer and thanks again! I'm going to have to think of another excuse now for another party!!! ;) *******

"Would not recommend this hotel to anyone."
Sarah Elizabeth R, 23 Octobre 2017

Had a number of complaints of the hotel which included my room situated above function room with a wedding disco below. 3/4 bed apparently is star dare And after paying £15 for breakfast half of it was missing in the morning or I had to wait for it. Breakfast session only lasted 2 hours so waiting 1/2 for pastries is not great. Only one pillow each , no milk in room for tea and coffee. What frustrated me about the hotel was when I gave feedback at asked to be contacted me I had an email from the general manager correcting me on all my issues. I gave them an opportunity to put things right they decline to do so I felt I was spoken to like a child and then hoped I was stay again .

"Room for improvement"
CleethorpesGtfcfan, 21 Octobre 2017

Pluses pleasant staff clean room very good breakfast minuses had to go to reception because kettle was broken and could not get through on phone had to wait ages to engage receptionist and witnessed him ignoring the phone.also the shower head was broken and kept going in to the wall.we only had two towels and the glass screen edges are sharp.also only had one pillow each and room was very warm.also noise from wedding was distracting even on third floor and deafening in the 66 bar where we had our evening meal, the restaurant being closed.two pounds for a packet of crisps is also excessive.all these issues mean only three stars but could easily be addressed

"Major renovation needed"
Michelle Y, 11 Octobre 2017

This is ok for a place to rest for the night. The price for what it is is shocking. £129 for a one night stay in a room that looked like it was decorated in the 1800's. Beds very uncomfortable.. I would say it was spotless in there. The restaurant also wasn't too bad. I wouldn't stay here again though. The price was ridiculous. You could stay at the premier inn down the road for half the price and a modern look.

"Amazingly comfy bed, good value"
elizabethwR2613HT, 18 Septembre 2017

Thank you to the hotel's bed purchasing policy and the lovely staff for an excellent overnight - we had to drive down 300 miles one day, attend a family event, and drive back the next. The great night's sleep really helped. The staff were very nice. I would definitely come back here.

"Great Hotel"
Tom S, 16 Septembre 2017

Great value hotel and great service from all the staff. Very pleasant surroundings and the staff were always friendly and willing to help. The little things were important such as the ability to ring for a taxi at reception who are available 24/7.

"Family Diamond wedding celebration"
Doug M, 11 Septembre 2017

Saturday 9th sept, 2017 We celerbrated a family Diamond Wedding Anniversary & 80th Birthday for my Sister & Brother in law. The evening was perfect, from the table layout, the delicious food and the service from staff lead by Anca.We look forward to a return visit in the future

"Great for business stop over"
D-J-Griffith, 02 Septembre 2017

This hotel is an ideal place to stop on your way to London or in my case the airport. I found it clean, efficient and with a good quality of service. I wouldn't make it the main focus of my trip but quite good. Well done to the staff as they are very professional and work very hard.

"Peaceful and nice stay"
rottenapple2017, 30 Août 2017

Stayed in suite with kitchenette since it was a long stay. Had a peaceful and relaxed stay. I could cook my own food and it was like a mini home. The suites have garden view which was pleasing. The house keeping staff was very polite. One weekend buffet breakfast was included in our stay. The breakfast had a good spread. Clean rooms. Overall I was highly satisfied with the property

"just what we were looking for"
lanlawrie2017, 28 Août 2017

what a lovely Hotel very quite and peacefull despite the unusual Location.spotlessly clean.everything you wanted was in the room.Exellent Breakfast Selection, so much variety it was hard to decide what to eat.would stay here again and Thoroughly Recomend to anyone.

"Wonderful Apartment"
DaveBrando28, 20 Août 2017

My partner and I have stayed at other Best Westerns and this one is as excellent as the rest. We stayed here for one night after being at a friends party. We were able to book one of the apartments that they have. It was lovely. A double room with kitchenette and on suite shower. The bed was very comfortable and the local area was extremely quiet. The room had all That was needed, TV, kettle, fridge, tea/coffee, iron etc. The apartments are away from the main hotel with parking right outside. Overall a fantastic experience and would recommend this to anyone!

"Rooms shabby for the price we paid"
Boxmoorbabe, 20 Août 2017

Stayed here for a friends wedding, very disappointed in room, shabby, dated, 2 beds? in a double room, restaurant closed due to wedding so offered no charge room service, food was rubbish, ordered chips which didn't come so these were taken off the final bill but then room service charge was added (I didn't notice at the time). Breakfast was OK with good selection of everything, just a shame the rooms didn't meet expectations, we stayed on the 2nd floor, lift was very old along with the rooms, one member of staff stood out to be particularly moody, unhelpful and unfriendly (behind the bar in the evening and on reception the next morning so difficult to say what position he was)

"Friends Wedding"
Russell B, 13 Août 2017

We had a wedding to attend at Tewin so chose this hotel. The surrounding area is misleading as there's a lot of housing but don't be put off, it's nice to be away from busy roads. Plenty of parking, the reception is very welcoming and clean, the dining area is nicely furnished and the rear garden is nice too. The rooms are a bit back dated but suitable for 3*, the bathrooms are nice and modern and it was great that the bed was very comfy. The bedroom furniture shows it's age but has all amenities. We weren't keen in using the lift as is as old as the building so stairs advised depending on preference. The only little negatives was just that the coffee table was a glass TV stand which made us smile and the bathroom door just slides across not properly shut so not 100% privacy felt when using toilet

"OUR VISIT ON 13.08.17"
alan c, 13 Août 2017

We were attending a 70th birthday party held in the Mannicotts golf club and this hotel was idealy located near to the club. The double room on the 2nd floor was fine and offered a nice view of the gardens. Our only complaints was that the room was very warm even with the window open all night and the mattress was far to soft for our liking. The online booking was very simple and on arrival, the booking in at the reception desk was very quick with the polite and friendly receptionist guiding us through the paperwork. Should we be passing this way again, then we would certainly stay here again.

"A great romantic getaway"
jamesportet002, 08 Août 2017

When me and my girlfriend were looking for a place to share our 6 month aniversery we stumbled upon this amazing place. The breakfast was delicous, the veiw was outstanding and the room was increadible. we most certianly would return

"A very, very pleasant stay!"
Starr63, 26 Juillet 2017

Reception staff went above and beyond to accommodate me, the room was lovely, room service meal was delicious and promptly actioned. Staff at breakfast were attentive and friendly and the breakfast was very good - especially the scrambled eggs! The hotel is also in a quiet road with plenty of parking - ideal for anybody not wanting a built up, traffic noisy venue.

"Great hotel and charming staff"
BubbleKent, 17 Juillet 2017

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as we were attending a folk music festival at nearby Hatfield House. We have stayed at this hotel for the last 3 or 4 years as part of our Hatfield House routine. I felt I had to write a review this year due to the great service we experienced from all the staff during our stay -- from check in to check out the staff were charming, helpful and efficient - well done! The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and with a pleasing decor. The garden is gorgeous and has tables/chairs and parasols for al fresco eating or having a drink from the bar. Yes, the bar prices are slightly more than you would pay in your average WGC pub but I was happy to pay due to the lovely surroundings and helpful staff. Our 'deal' included breakfast on both days and we were very pleasantly surprised with the 'full English' on offer -- really nice and hot even though it was a self serve buffet. The TV was modern, the shower was hot and with good pressure and although our room did not have air conditioning, there was a very effective fan that cooled the room down during the night. There is plenty of parking at the hotel, wifi is free and quick.......and there is a great Indian restaurant within 5 minutes walk (Bipash)! Highly recommended and we will return again next year.

"A pleasant stay"
Julie B, 13 Juillet 2017

My husband and I stayed here for one night when we drove to London for an event. It was not far at all to drive to London to finish off our journey after spending the night here. The room was nice, we booked last minute without any problems, there were good parking facilities and a lovely meal. It was a hot night and we were pleased to see a fan in our room without even asking for one. We would definitely stay here again!

"Not value for money"
NarrowBoat-London, 03 Juillet 2017

My wife and I have stayed in many different hotel organisations in various locations, this we feel was possibly one of the worse. Dated hotel with dated attitude and approach, expensive overall if any addition services or items were bought. The location is good along with the grounds. I would recommend finding an alternative local hotel if possible as there are quite a few. I know WGC well as I grew up there and this hotel used to be the jewel in the crown. Best Western need to re think the whole strategy of this hotel and give more staff training. Our room was dated, old TV with poor picture quality, pipes were noisey if someone used a tap in another room, bed was uncomfortable, bathroom was very large with bath but shower door allowed water leakage all over the floor. I like to praise hotels and there staff and have done so many times yet I do not think in this case it is deserving, receptionist messaging on her phone at front desk, best move away from front desk if the need arises to text.

"Sound choice for easy access stay to London"
carlbE1140CJ, 02 Juillet 2017

Used this hotel as a base for a 2 day break enjoying as gig at Ali Pally and fun and games in London. 15 min walk to the train station and then a 25 min journey to Kings Cross Great value for money compared to staying in London even with travel costs. £5 to £8 and 5 min journey in a taxi if you don't want to walk. Staff are excellent and the hotel is spot on.

"Welwyn garden city, uk"
Brinda G, 30 Juin 2017

London suburbs can be pretty and charming but not if you are staying at the Best Western Homestead Court hotel. Overrated and overpriced in an old building with little amenities. The rooms are dingy, breakfast starts at 8 on weekends and no dinner service on weekends. The restaurant also doubles up as an event area so you might find yourself sitting amidst tables and stacked chairs. Thank god there is a pub within walking distance but really nothing else. Good place to go for a morning walk though since it is in a residential area. The hotel got a boost in business when Tesco shifted the head office to Welwyn. Not recommended.

"Excellent"
andrewjW8171XR, 28 Juin 2017

This hotel was excellent from start to finish. we especially enjoyed a free upgrade to the execuitve rooms that had air conditiiong. food was good and nice views of the park. looks like a good hotel for business

"Handy for our needs"
Brendan1958, 21 Juin 2017

This was one of three choices given by the bride for those attending her wedding. Several of us stayed here. It would not be easy to find without a satnav. On the whole it wasn't too bad a place to stay, but there were one or two odd things. The bar wasn't open when we got there, but you could get someone from reception to get you a drink. Some alarm went off in the night. No apology or explanation was given the next day. However .... The garden is a great place to have a drink on a nice evening. The serve yourself breakfast was very good.

"Perfect for my one night business trip"
roger b, 23 Mai 2017

Nice clean room, good shower etc perfect for my stay over, location perfect for tesco hq price very fair would use again if travelling through on business did not get to use facilities but the bar and restraunt areas looked clean and well staffed, and good car parking areas

"Visiting relative living in Hitchin"
djonmar, 23 Mai 2017

spent three days at this hotel Clean and pleasant ,comfortable room. The staff were truly excellent from reception onward. the food and service were second to none which made this a truly excellent experience.

"Average visit"
Claire R, 18 Mai 2017

I stayed at the best western in welwyn for a one night stay.....in general Best Western have great hotels. I have had a pleasant stay, however my only disappointment was the smell to the room!!! The smell has lingered all evening of deep fried food despite being on floor 3. Despite opening the window, this hasn't changed. Looking forward to hearing from you . Kind regards

"Pleasant enough for this type of hotel"
DaveBaird, 17 Mai 2017

OK, let's be honest, this type of hotel is very much geared towards business and "events". Nevertheless, needed family to stay-overnight in Welwyn whilst visiting sister en-route to Channel Tunnel. So the hotel itself is very generic, having very little charm. That being said, the rooms were comfortable enough and all our booked requirements were met. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially when we had to complain that one of our booked rooms reeked of cigarettes (despite the hotel being non-smoking). There was no fuss, we just received the key to another room and that was sorted. The bar is a bit sterile and the food a bit variable - my steak being a bit ugh, but the wife's roast lamb very good. There wasn't a lot of choice in the beer department, but the Guinness I settled on was very good indeed. The buffet breakfast was quite OK, not a patch on something like a Van Der Valk here in Benelux, but certainly decent enough - several plates of bacon, eggs, sausages and beans set me up for the day. So overall a pleasant experience, if you accept this type of hotel will rarely be "cosy".

"comfortable and quiet"
Andy G, 15 Mai 2017

nice hotel but like everywhere in welwyn garden city it's tricky to find, but that's the city not the hotel it's all round abouts and one way roads. Only problem I had was that I booked on their web site and it wouldn't confirm told me to phone the hotel, when I did the tariff quoted on the web site didn't exist, so instead of £76.10 for bed and breakfast they took £89 for room only.

"Nothing Special"
Martyn D, 02 Mai 2017

Pretty average hotel compared to many I've stayed in. Being set in a residential area was a bit of a surprise, but it was convenient for the office. Beware if you have a room on the top floor, the lifts do not go that far! You have to walk up the last flight of stairs, so if you have limited mobility that could be a bit of a challenge. Not an issue for me, but an observation for others. Also the light on the stairs only comes on when you reach the bend in the stairs. Generally comfortable, but the wardrobe door in my room fouled against the closing mechanism for the room door which made opening it fully was not possible. The decor is a little dated and the place gives the impression of needing a general refresh.

"Great hotel with nice gardens "
Cheeky_leon, 28 Avril 2017

A great service received here and hospitality, customer service and amenities levels were all above my expectations. Slightly dated decor but I found it endearing along with the well kept garden which I suspect would suit anyone looking for a wedding reception. Parking was plentiful outside the front and the reception rooms spacious. If your looking for a countryside manor location situated in commuting distance from the capital then this is an ideal venue.

"homestead court revisited"
fuzz50, 23 Avril 2017

we arrived on good Friday for 3 nights we usually book the Wilson @ peters suites which are disable friendly large rooms, they are quiet the rooms are setback to the side of the main hotel in there own building which is quiet @ tranquil the rooms have an interconnecting door which is ideal as my mum @ daughter share the twin room @ we have the Wilson suite the beds are very comfy in both rooms both have flat screen tv, free wifi, hairdryers, spacious walk in showers ,we have also stayed in main hotel too all rooms are Bright ad airy some rooms in main hotel have showers only!! which is good, there are plenty of leaflets at reception for things to do and see we stay at this hotel at least twice a year to visit family who live a few minutes away. Nothing is to much trouble for the management or staff of this hotel where even on first name terms with the staff as we have been visiting homestead court hotel for a few years now . we would Definitely recommend this hotel whatever the occasion is.

"Quiet hotel"
alan p, 15 Avril 2017

Tucked away in a quiet residential area nice and tranquil, friendly helpful staff nice food reasonably priced restaurant and bar.Rooms very comfortable and man alive one of the most powerful showers i have ever encountered.Free parking and WiFi who could ask for more.PS the breakfast was lovely my only slight gripe was that i would like a teapot at the breakfast bar and not to put the teabag in the cup.

"Looking for a wedding venue"
Ceomf, 07 Avril 2017

We arrived on time for our meeting at 10am with Anca we were told to wait and the young man behind the desk would get her for us! After 5 minutes of waiting I returned to the desk to be told the meeting was with another lady , much to my surprise as it was booked with Anca. I had a feeling when we walked in that she was not there as the receptionist seemed surprised we had a meeting with her. My feeling turned out to be correct. A very nice duty manager came to the table and said that Anca was not in until 12 that day so didn't know why she had booked an appointment for this time and day!? She was very flustered and apologetic . I thanked her for her apology but explain no matter how much she apologised it would not change the situation so we will look round, as that is what we came for, and then leave. As i said the DM was flustered and under prepared.. we rushed around the building trying to explain what would happen on the day but unfortunately she did not sell it in the best way possible! Needless to say we are not booking this venue! The next day I spoke to the GM and he explain some of the personal reasons why she was not in work this day but didn't really explain what happened with the mix up or why no-one had contacted to explain in more detail the mistake. I got the feeling from the GM that he really didn't care .. I don't know if it is just his tone of voice but he seemed disinterested and just wanted me off the phone. He said they have a staff briefing every morning and would talk to the team then!!!! Still feel frustrated.. weddings are stressful and this just added to it! I believe they are able to offer a lower priced package for a reason! The building The hotel itself is very tired and is not very attractive it has fake Christmas tree branches stapled to some walls which gives it a very odd look. The reception area smells like toilets! The carpet is old and tried. The windows are filthy. Generally this hotel has a dirty feel too it. I'm not sure I would want to see the rooms if the reception and public areas are as bad as they are!

"No frills pleasant hotel"
sooz16, 05 Avril 2017

Stayed here for two nights in the ground floor accessible room. Lovely, well appointed room. Comfortable bed, flat screen TV, large window overlooking a local park. Overall, the hotel was tidy, average decor and met the needs of the group I was with. Breakfast was pleasant enough although finished at 10am even though it was the weekend and staff promptly cleared away any surplus food at 10am on the dot. Only downside was the lack of staff. Despite out party being 14-strong, there were no more than 3 staff visible on the Friday evening and trying to get service was tricky although the single waitress worked so hard to serve us with food and drink. So - don't expect too much but like all Best Western Hotels - it does what it says on the tin!

"Good hotel for cosy stay"
FabsHolidays, 05 Avril 2017

Stayed her for a night with my girlfriend. Good value for money for what we paid. Pros: - breakfast was good and had everything that was needed as we love our breakfast (French toast, pastries, sausage, bacon, cereal, fruit, yogurt, egg, hams etc) the pastry did run out quite quickly which wasn't topped up but everything else was great. - there's a local park (Scarborough j think it's called) which we went to as it was a sunny day which has quite a few things to see which is good. - the staff were very kind at reception and helped with everything - you can get a free gym pass to the 'better gym' which is about a 5minute drive away which i think is good from the hotel to do. Cons: - the room could be a little bit more updated - could of done with toiletries, iron, hairdryer. - not much around at all. No local shops or anything else within walking distance but high street is about a 5-10minute drive away. Overall a nice stay and for price we paid it was worth it for the cosy bed and great breakfast. Good value for money if you're looking for somewhere to stay when local and want to enjoy a good breakfast!

"Comfortable nights stay but hotel needs updating"
The_Sids_9, 03 Avril 2017

Stayed for only one night. Room was large, it was cold outside but heating kept room nice and warm. Room was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable, Wi-Fi had good reception and was fast. Breakfast in the morning, large selection of both hot and cold options. Bedroom and bathroom were very tired and need updating, in fact hotel need a refresh but it is a very large hotel. In fact I'm sure was a note in room about upgrading chairs so something is being done. Reception staff were not overly friendly

"Masonic ladies festival "
Dawn S, 29 Mars 2017

Great hotel for masonic ladies night - hotel room upgrades are good value for money - food was delicious at Saturday function- breakfast was extremely tasty - really recommend this hotel - also very close to town

"Hotel a little tired and niggling faults but great staff"
MikeW642, 28 Novembre 2016

Enjoyed my stay there but lots of small faults that result in only an average marking. The room I had was large but had an unidentified odour that was a little like stale smoke but after several days airing was still there. Room large if a bit dated nut very small desk and square pouffe rather than chair. Bathroom nice and clean but the shower screen wouldn't stay in place so floor was soaked every time it was used. Plumbing also very noisy and could hear running water in pipes every time someone flushed on other floors. Location was OK quiet as in middle of houses but a good 25 minute walk from town and ten minutes to local shop. On plus side staff are fantastic and evening meals large and good quality. Could easily get 4/5 if the little issues were ironed out

"Got what I paid for"
ziv l, 27 Novembre 2016

Great location in a beautiful scenary of Welwyn Garden City, quite close to Luton airport - only half hour driving. Rooms were very clean, and matress of high quality (the reason we chose Best Western again and again). We did not have breakfast, so can not comment on that. We got a good sale price, but the hotel is unjustly high-prices. It is a quiet hotel in a good location

"Good"
Anita2309, 27 Novembre 2016

This hotel is good, bit tired but very clean. The staff are friendly and efficient. Breakfast is very good but a little expensive at £13+ We stayed here because it was very close to where we needed to be.

"Quite good, but !!!"
Unclefatbelly, 26 Novembre 2016

Quite a good experience, good room, good welcome, spoiled by one tiny thing. I was with my daughter, son in law and their 4 year old boy, we were due at a party close by at 7 o'clock so as bar dinners were advertised from 6 o'clock we decided to eat. We asked for menus and a high chair, we needed the high chair for our special needs boy, which was also the reason for making sure he had a meal. After a few minutes looking at the menu we went to order at the bar, only to be told Chef doesn't start till 6.30. This is misleading for customers. The staff pointed out a pub close by where we ate. Also disappointing not to see a child's menu.

"Lovely little stay"
welshdragonsfd, 11 Novembre 2016

Very friendly check in, lovely comfortable room with a pretty view over the local park, good quality bed and other furniture plus a smart clean and functional bathroom. We were quite late down for breakfast but there was still a great selection of fruit, pastries and cereals as well as a piping hot cooked selection, including eggy bread! Bonus points for that... I would happily recommend this hotel to others visiting the area.

"Peace"
Susan R, 01 Novembre 2016

This is a beautiful hotel. Close for the business park I was attending. The food was delightful and value for money. The staff were very helpful and there was always someone around to assist with anything I needed. The surrounding gardens are beautiful and quite unexpected for the location. It was very peaceful with lovely rooms and comfortable beds. Highly recommend.

"Pleasant short break"
James D, 30 Octobre 2016

Good room fantastic breakfast A little tired in places but adequate There was a function taking place when we arrived but that wasn't a problem and we were dealt with speedily and efficiently The 1966 world cup squad stayed here prior during the tournament; its a shame they don't ma more of this

"Short stay"
rich19532016, 29 Octobre 2016

After a problem with the room, management upgraded us. Room very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with good service. Will stay there again. Reasonably close to main town and rail service to London.

"Value for money place"
Ransvoice, 23 Octobre 2016

I stayed here for 6 days during a Business visit. The staffs were really courteous and helpful. Its a real value for money place with good breakfast. I would like to see little more varieties in the restaurant menu.

"AVOID! Worst hotel experience ever!"
Kaykay131313, 23 Octobre 2016

Turned up to the hotel and found they had made an error in the booking. Receptionist Yasin Zemrour didn't care and basically kicked me out. I complained to the manager Nabil Lababedi who basically said it was a fault with the system so not his problem. Shocking levels of customer service which left me without a room for the night after a 25mile drive!

"Average & Dated"
Ted H, 16 Octobre 2016

Stayed overnight following a dinner. Rooms were in need of a little TLC with old furniture, poor lighting and dodgy decor. Staff were friendly but I did need to teach the barmaid how to make a G&T as she was trying to stuff the lemon (no limes available) into the tonic bottle. The food at the dinner was very good serving 80+ people efficiently. Bar prices were expensive (£6 for a single G&T) but the accomadation reasonably priced for the quality of the room. Breakfast was basic but good and plenty of it. Car parking was free but tight, free WiFi when it worked. The last Best Western I stayed in was in Bojniceand this was superior to that.

"Average hotel for business travel at best"

This strictly average hotel is located within 2 miles of my office in Welwyn Garden City, which makes it one of the 2 available options that are convenient. The rooms are average but clean. The hotel needs to upgrade as the rooms and the lobby look dated. The breakfast is standard and okay. There are only a couple of vegetarian options in the overpriced restaurant. On the plus side, there is a strip mall with a few restaurants within 10-15 mins walking distance. The only reason one would choose to stay in this hotel is the proximity to office/commute while on business. Otherwise, completely avoidable.

"Conveniently located hotel"
Anna S, 08 Octobre 2016

Some aspects of the hotel were really nice, some refurbishment had been done and staff on reception and in re staurant were really friendly and helpful. Bedroom was a nice size and clean and tidy, bathroom very clean and room nice and warm,, breakfast was good and plenty to choose from, my dinner was OK but restaurant lacked atmosphere and felt a little like a canteen, not many guests were using it which didn't help. There were some areas which need a little attention, my bathroom screen didn't stay over the bath and shower flooded the bathroom floor. I had to wrestle the iron board out of a cupboard and from behind a small table which wasn't easy and the toilet seat was loose and seemed too small for the toilet. The king size bed had a double duvet only and the mattresses were 2 singles that were at slightly different heights. I did complete the form in the room on some of the key points. I stay in a lot of hotels at all budget levels, hopefully if the refurbishments continue it will improve the guest experience. It is fairly priced for London area. It's been quite a while since I stayed at a best Western and think the standard is now very different, this was more like a privately owned hotel, it seems to attract some business guests and contractors.

"Room 201"
andy6464, 04 Octobre 2016

Good hotel located in a housing estate just outside of town. Plenty of car parking spaces. Good sized room and bathroom which was very clean. Room is a bit dated and needs redecorating. Bit pricy for the age. Very pleasant staff on check in and check out.

"Worst experience ever! Staff are incompetent and management are even worse!!!"
Kaykay131313, 27 Septembre 2016

I booked a room via bookings.com, turned up at 3am and was told they were fully booked! The staff member Yasin Zemrour didn't seem like he even cared or even attempted to help. No offer of another hotel or anything. Ended up sleeping in my car! Made a complaint and the manager Nabil Lababedi basically said the booking had an error therefore we don't need to help, go and speak to booking.com WORST LEVELS OF CUSTOMER CARE I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS!!!

"My wife and I held a luncheon party to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. This was a sit down meal."
michaeldcole, 26 Septembre 2016

The party of 60 people gathered for pre-linch drinks at 12.15 and we sat down for our meal at about 1.15. The staff were very friendly and effciient, in fact the service could not be better. The food was as good as it gets for this sort of function.

"Nothing to remember"
69Carefree69, 22 Septembre 2016

A slightly odd combination of outdated and modern decor in this hotel oddly nestled in a residential area. That aside it was perfectly reasonable and the staff were friendly and the rooms reasonably equipped and adequate.

"Clean and Comfortable "
Michael F, 21 Septembre 2016

Arrived today on a second visit on business. Supprised with an upgrade to a suite. Rooms are large and modern with a shower, no bath!. You can even park outside your room if you are staying in a suite. Expensive stay compared to my last visit, however it was a late booking which may explain the visted, still cheaper than advertised prices at reception.

"Great Experience"
DubeFamily, 19 Septembre 2016

l stayed at a Best Western Hotel for the first time a month ago with a friend to attend a friend's daughter's wedding reception and l loved the place. So when l was looking for a place for my business trip, l search for the nearby BWH even though it was 5 miles away from my Business Venue l chose to stay here. l had a lovely time. The rooms are nice, spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is high quality, FREE UNLIMITED WiFi a Bonus. l have already booked my next business meeting at another BWH. l am falling in love with this hotel Group. RD

"Good stopover hotel"
Sunman239, 19 Septembre 2016

Set in a quiet residential area, the hotel offers a pleasant overnight stay at prices (when we booked) considerably lower than the nearby Premier Inn. A good full English breakfast is available, with comprehensive selections. We were upgraded to an executive suite, containing a double and a single bed, in an annexe building. The room was not really a suite, and actually quite small but with a large bathroom, and small entrance hall. The walls are very thin, and we could hear voices and movement in the next room. A cumbersome floor standing aircon unit made a terrific noise when switched on, and we were unable to use it. Unfortunately, the only window was a fully opening glazed door onto the garden, which could not be left open overnight. In summary, I would stay again, but ask for a room in the main house.

"Great place and very good value"
Mike B, 14 Septembre 2016

Booked room for one night (Saturday). The hotel was easy to find and there was plenty of parking spaces. The check in was excellent and very friendly. We stayed on the top floor in room 407. The view was very pleasant over the park lands behind the hotel. The room was spacious and VERY clean as was the bathroom. It is a lovely quiet location and we slept very well without any other noise from the hotel. The room rate is very reasonable for what you get and the hotel facilities at your disposal. Breakfast was a relaxed and easy experience with plenty of choice and everything was cooked nicely. The staff here are extremely helpful and I was surprised when I asked if I could book the same room a year in advance for 2017, thinking this might be a problem, to be told "everything is possible". I have now booked the same room for our return trip in Sept 2017 and by doing so got a superb price! I am impressed...

"Good Hotel"
John P, 13 Septembre 2016

The hotel was clean, staff were very polite, the food was good. Nothing was too much trouble. any request was attended to. The only downside was the room was extremely hot even though there was a fan provided.

"Great value for money"
Rob F, 09 Septembre 2016

We stayed for 1 night when visiting the area this week. Check in was nice and easy. We had upgraded to an executive room on the top floor (room 405). The room was spotlessly clean and had a view over the park. The room was perfect for light sleepers as it was unbelievably quiet (even the lift only goes up to the 3rd floor so no noise at all.) We had a very good meal in the restaurant in the evening which was both delicious and reasonably priced. The full English breakfast was one of the best I've had in a chain hotel and once again was good value for money. Highly recommended !!

"What a party"
whothefox, 09 Septembre 2016

Came for a friend's 50th and cannot fault the place. Reasonably priced room was excellent and the staff couldn't be more obliging. Hotel arranged a superb spread for the party, and the bar staff were most efficient. Even when the sun was coming up, and there were just a few of us left, the staff carried on smiling. This is hospitality. It really is a superb venue for a function, with staff and management in tune to make everything go like clockwork. Well done to one and all: I shall be returning.

"Great for business"
Alan D, 07 Septembre 2016

I've stayed at this hotel about half a dozen times now whilst in business meetings locally. Always good clean tidy rooms. Free wifi is also quite good in the rooms I've stayed in. A comfortable lounge for those who like a beer in the evening. Food has always been good. Self service breakfast is a good start to the day. Highly recommended.

"great base for visiting our relatives in hatfield"
fuzz50, 27 Août 2016

we stayed here in august for three nights on a room only basis the room was on the third floor and we found it to be a very quiet and comfortable, the room was also cleaned to a very good standard each day. The staff are a very friendly lot especially the reception who are always happy to help

"Best western holmstead court hotel"
M1tchamp, 23 Août 2016

We went to a Christmas dinner tribute night (rod Stuart) It was a great night and we had plenty of food which was really tasty. We did not stay overnight as we don't live far from the hotel, but family stayed and had a comfortable night. We returned the next morning for breakfast which was very nice. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

"Awful"
Gareth-jayson, 20 Août 2016

We have just returned from an awful stay at the best Western Homestead Court. I can honestly say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We arrived at 9:20 after a very long journey from north Staffordshire to be told that the restaurant stopped taking food orders at 9:15 so ended up driving to the premier inn a few minutes down the road that was happy to serve us food. On returning back the hotel we went to our room which was room 318, which was awful, the room was like a sauna and very dated, the mattress must have been 20 years old, there was 2 very lumpy pillows, as we had to sleep with the windows open all night we was woken up at 5:30am by the bins being emptied directly outside our bedroom window, we ended up getting and leaving the hotel by 7am as I couldn't stay in the room any longer. Before returning home we had an amazing breakfast, all you can eat £8.99 at the premier inn around the corner. I can safely say I will not be returning.

"Fantastic venue for our wedding"
Michowlett01, 18 Août 2016

Everyone wants the best for their wedding day. Well you won't go far wrong holding your wedding and reception at this hotel. The staff here go the extra mile, Nabil, one of the managers was extremely helpful when we were looking for a venue. You'd think that was standard but that wasn't our experience! Once we booked we were left in the very capable hands of Anca, the events coordinator. All our guests commented on the food and how fantastic it was. We went for the hot and cold buffet, highly recommended! We went for this option as we wanted a less formal occasion. The best day of my life was spent at the best possible location. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel. And in case you were wondering, the rooms were brilliant. I can't thank everyone enough.

"Excellent would recommend"
Tony P, 17 Août 2016

Short stay last week with family, although rooms are cramped (too much bulky furniture) hotel was extremely clean; staff were professional and accommodating especially restaurant staff and receptionist. Slightly off the beaten track as we are not local but easily round with sat nav.

"Grim"
Richard H, 09 Août 2016

Stayed here 1 night when our boiler was down and needed a hot shower - wish we hadn't bothered. The whole hotel is grim, it's a sad old 80's hotel that needs a make over. Paid £89 for a grubby double. Deco sad and tired. Bathroom basic. Room was clean just old. The pillows were very small and thin - just 2 off them. We had to use the cushions to get a decent night sleep. At least the shower was hot.

"Below standard expected"
margaret148, 09 Août 2016

We had a long tiring journey and were looking forward to a pleasant, relaxing dinner. The restaurant was closed. We had a bar meal - at hotel prices in the lounge/bar. There were two TVs both showing a football match, though the sound was turned down. Once we were ready for bed we discovered that we only had one pillow each. There was a "pillow menu", but it was very late at might. Breakfast - very good service but we had to ask for teapot and use mugs. "Smoked kippers" (what other kind are there?) were £2.00 extra. I ampartially disabled and had requested a room with a walk in shower, I did not get one. I hurt my foot getting out of the bath - no grab rail. I reported this to the gentleman on Reception. It was dismissed with a muttered apology. Four days later it still caused pain

"The fibre of Welwyn Garden City"
irishboy4, 01 Août 2016

I stay at Homestead Court every time I return to Welwyn Garden. I was born nearby and my Mother worked there in the 1960s. In 1966 I watched the German world cup football team leave after their defeat to England, one of them even gave me a tin of sauerkraut! I used to deliver the newspapers to the reception when I was a paper boy. So I know the place better than most. Homestead Court is an incon of Welwyn Garden City, it embodies the architecture and manifests itself in the same way that Welwyn Department Stores does. If it was a person it would be an army major, for that read "all correct, orderly and well organised." The staff change, the service remains as good as it should be and the ambience of the place is homely, which will never change. I guess the Guinness could be a little cheaper, but overall this is the best place to stay in WGC and always has been. QED

"Awful"
CassieDale, 29 Juillet 2016

We stayed here whilst attending a nearby friends' wedding. The room was clean, light and a reasonable size. However, rowdy guests woke us at 7am playing rugby on the lawns and drinking. The breakfast area was dirty and littered with bottles, cups, plates. Breakfast, which you pay extra for is on par with a greasy spoon, not worth the money and the management sat behind closed doors whilst a young waitress attempted to keep order in the dining room. After complaining, the manager informed me it is policy not to intervene when there is a rowdy group in. Would not recommend.

"Very nice stay at the Homestead Court Hotel"
007Worldtraveller, 28 Juillet 2016

I had a lovely stay at the Homestead Court Hotel. The staff were really helpful, this includes reception and dining room. Accommodation was very good and the breakfast was really good quality in nice surroundings as can be seen from the photographs.

"Don't stay in room 318"
nickf990, 28 Juillet 2016

Room 318 on a hot summers night this room is an oven with no ventilation and a standalone fan to move the hot air about! It is also very small for a double room, the bathroom is nearly as big as the bedroom.

"Pretty good"
R D, 26 Juillet 2016

Stayed here on numerous times in the past. Facilities are good & staff extremely accommodation and pleasant. Check out the tarragon chicken on the menu if you fancy a real treat, it's to die for! Rooms are also spacious & quiet, with the odd Infrequent clinking of the lift which is more than bearable. Would recommend!

"Clean, friendly and central"
caro1NorfolkEngland, 24 Juillet 2016

Very nice hotel and staff could not do enough for us. Hotel room very clean and comfortable. On arrival which was lunch time we were told sandwiches only so be prepared! We ordered two lots of sandwiches olives and crisps which came with the sandwiches large glass of wine and a beer. This lot came to £27 and some pennies!!! Phew!! The sandwiches were nothing special the olives arrived 30 mins after the sandwich and I had to ask for the crisps! So be prepared to eat before you arrive! Lovely garden to sit out in. Breakfast was excellent could not fault it or the service! Would I stay again? Yes I would but have lunch before I arrive.

"Great staff and service provision"
melanimorgan, 24 Juillet 2016

We stayed overnight whilst attending Battle Proms and found our upgraded room fabulous. In the morning we after at 1000hrs for Sunday morning breakfast but the restaurant stopped serving at 1000hrs. However the staff were amazing. They bought us toast, jams, fruit, hams and cheeses ( not easy as I am coeliac ) even though it was our fault we were late. We will def visit again

"Pleasant stay"
CovKid2, 24 Juillet 2016

We were attending the Battle prom at Hatfield House so booked this hotel for a one night stay as it is only a 10 minute drive to the venue. I have read a lot of mixed reviews of this hotel but our experience was a very positive one. We had booked an executive studio in the annexe- this was a clean and very comfortable room complete with a kitchenette area, full bathroom and best of all air conditioning. The decor and bed was tasteful, clean and comfortable and extra pillows, dressing gowns, ironing board and iron were all provided. In terms of hospitality there were plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate sachets, bottled water, biscuits and fruit. The staff at reception were very courteous as were the staff at the bar when we ordered a light lunch and drinks. The garden and terrace of the hotel is very pretty with good outdoor terrace furniture and parasols- the rear of the hotel overlooks a large park- very pleasant. We had a very comfortable night and the breakfast in the morning was well organised, staff very helpful showing guests to their table, and taking orders for poached eggs etc. The breakfast provision was plentiful, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, full cooked English, boiled eggs and continental options all available and replenished constantly. Everything was kept clean and tidy with tables cleared constantly but discreetly. Check out was well ordered and I would have no hesitation using this hotel again

"A fantastic stay"
Tony B, 20 Juillet 2016

We really enjoyed our stay at this great hotel, a lovely relaxing venue with great rooms and very friendly staff. The bar is a 1966 World Cup theme as the Russian team stayed there during the cup. I would recommend the suites as they are large with their own kitchen facilities and each room is named after an England player!

"Comfortable room"
Montbelle, 17 Juillet 2016

Appears to be in the middle of a large housing estate - which could describe much of Welwyn Garden City. That said, we were not bothered by noise. Very welcoming on arrival. Room not huge - but very comfortable large bed, plenty of hanging space for clothes, and a powerful shower. We spent little time in the room, or in the rest of hotel, as in WGC to attend a wedding. Only negative was that the room was hot, and the window difficult to open. Apparently several of the participating teams - including West Germany before the final - stayed at the hotel during the 1966 World Cup.

"Peaceful"
Susan R, 09 Juillet 2016

Lovely hotel. Comfortable. Friendly. Food was very nice and service was faultless. Beautiful surroundings.was only there for one night on business but was all in all a really pleasant stay. Would recommend it to anyone business or pleasure.

"hotel with football history"
philip m, 05 Juillet 2016

We stayed for just one night to visit our son. Turns out the hotel was the base for the West German Team in 1966 and England before the famous 1973 Poland match. I guarantee that teams today would not stay here. This is not to knock the hotel, but the modern multi millionaires would be elsewhere. The hotel is well situated, a bit dated but the rooms are comfortable and the service was friendly and efficient. We did think the breakfasts were expensive so did not eat there. Our major issue was it was difficult to sleep. It was not a hot night but even with the window open it was very warm in the room. No air conditioning and the fan did not make much difference. Not helped by noisy people outside the room at around 3am and a helicopter hovering nearby soon after. Clearly the helicopter was not the fault of the hotel, but if it had not been so warm in the room... We would stay here again as the hotel was reasonably priced and well situated for our purposes.

"Lunch"
shorthaul2015, 04 Juillet 2016

I enjoyed my three course meal, the service was good and the food hot, I do like my wine poured out just before I receive my main course not three quarters of the way through eating. The restaurant was well presented and clean looking and also was the cloakroom

"Excellent service."
Margaret C, 04 Juillet 2016

13 of our family stayed here whilst attending a wedding at another hotel. We were very impressed that our rooms were ready by 12 enabling us to get ready in time! Our room was basic but very comfortable and the reception staff very welcoming. Breakfast was lovely with loads of choice and we were able to relax outside with our coffees and enjoy the beautiful garden before checking out.

"Simply Faultless"
Michael D, 29 Juin 2016

From the very warm reception, we knew immediately that we would enjoy our stay here. Nothing was too much trouble. We had requested, if possible, early access to our room, and this was available at 12.15. Brilliant. Our room was spotlessly clean and overlooked the park, as promised. Will certainly stay here again when travelling to Hertfordshire.

"Great stay at good friendly hotel"
paul m, 28 Juin 2016

Stayed 24th June two nights I had stay here in 2015 and found the room to be adequate but this visit my room was on the 4th floor and it was newly refurbished and excellent new bathroom, air conditioning fantastic big comfy bed very impressed. Had breakfast both mornings and the food was good quality and staff very helpful and friendly on checking out I spoke with the manager who I found to be very nice and he was interested in my opinion on my room as the whole 4th floor had been fully refurbished. Good to see improvements ongoing on a very good friendly hotel will be back

"Friendly but needs care"
Lauren O, 28 Juin 2016

I was very impressed with the kindness and capability of the staff The room wasn't very big and there was only one window which cannot be opened easily The brilliant add on was a great air conditioning unit which I was grateful to have as due to the room being on the 4th floor and the lack of air it got too warm. I was on the 4th floor which was peaceful but please note there is no lift to this floor. So if you are elderly or disabled you have to climb stairs. This is ridiculous considering the price which should have included breakfast I got a free breakfast because the blinds in my room where broken and I couidnt get any light in there . So my verdict Lovely atmosphere with staff who care Great comfortable bed But the management shouid make sure that there is adequate light and air in the room and that nothing is broken. Shame

"Superb"
NottinghamOggi, 27 Juin 2016

We were at a wedding at another hotel complex but unfortunately our room was flooded, and we were re-located to Homestead Court which was a few miles away. We arrived after 11:00p.m. on a Saturday night and the chap on reception was superb, so friendly and helpful. Due to our circumstances he upgraded us to the Hurst Suite at no extra cost and the room was fantastic. We went back to the bar for a nightcap and the same chap served us at the bar, again extremely friendly and efficient. The next morning the breakfast room was great with views out onto the garden and the buffet offered everything you could wish for. I certainly have no hesitation in recommending this hotel very highly, and would like to thank all the staff who made our stay extremely pleasant, thank you.

"Needs updating"
anthony b, 26 Juin 2016

In general hotel was okay but needs updating the rooms are very noisy people slamming doors till late( need Softouch doors ) also water system is a very hot or very cold hard to adjust, parking is very tight, not for van drivers more for cars,

"Comfortable Stay "
Michael F, 21 Juin 2016

Stayed 1 night on business, hotel is clean and comfortable. Room was large although a little warm, no air conditioning but a room fan is provided plenty of choice for breakfast. The restaurant is open on an evening and there is ample parking space.

"Travelled with Newmarket travel to see a show in London"
Fudge9, 20 Juin 2016

Nice hotel but reception staff not very welcoming. No eye contact just name and given keys to our room. Rather like a production line. There was no smile, enjoy your stay or an offer of help with our luggage. Rooms quite basic although clean and presentable. Bedroom furniture was very dated and no air conditioning although there were fans to use. Food was lovely, fab breakfast! I would prefer a hotel with some ambience.

"Homestead Court"
Ian S, 18 Juin 2016

From its outside appearance some people would not want to make a booking, I had similar views but once I had arrived and settled in the hotel is very well attributed and laid out. A few downsides the lift is very slow but you get there in the end. All the staff that I spoke to were very helpful and all did their best to give everyone a positive experience. I had my reservations about the hotel but now I have turned them into positive reservations by booking one night per month through the rest of the year.

"A lovely hotel with the best breakfast I've ever had!"
Babystoat1973, 14 Juin 2016

We stayed as a family (2 adults 2 kids) as a base whilst attending a wedding elsewhere. The booking team made sure that we had rooms next to each other (didn't have any family rooms or adjoining rooms available). The rooms were a great size with everything you need, including a bathrobe and full size ironing board and iron (very rare to have these in each room in my experience). The beds were really comfy. The bathrooms were clean and tidy, maybe a little dated, but wasn't a problem.Another good point of this hotel is that there were plenty of plug sockets! As a family who have more devices that people, this was great. The only downside to the hotel was there was no air conditioning, which normally isn't a problem in the UK, but it was very warm and muggy that day. The hotel did provide fans in each room though. The gardens of the hotel were lovely and well maintained. The breakfast was amazing. Such a variety! Even had French Toast. Never seen that on offer before. Everything was fresh and nothing ran out. Will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

"Great stay"
Brendan K, 07 Juin 2016

The hotel is situated in a lovely area of WGC, the staff are very helpful and friendly, rooms are very clean and comfortable. Beds are comfortable, with a good nights sleep. We would recommend a stay at this hotel.

"Good location near to Welwyn Garden City"
JHughesLiverpool, 05 Juin 2016

Was bit worried about staying in this hotel due to some negative reviews. But we had a lovely time staying over from the Fri - Mon for a friend's surprise 49th Wedding Anniversary. It does seem in middle of an estate as some of the reviews say but to be fair was only few minutes walk to a nice pub which served good meals and a few shops. We were put in some executive rooms away from reception and overlooking a park which was lovely and although a little bit jaded was really good value for money, clean and well serviced. We only ate in one night and food was lovely. Only problem we had was that there was a really noisy party/wedding on the Sat night and couldn't even have a drink and got bit rowdy with some arguments beneath our room and too busy to have breakfast on the Sunday as so full so we decided to eat out. We also decided not to stay the Sunday night and left early. But all staff we came across were really helpful, apologised for the noise and we would stay here again if ever come back to area as reasonably priced, friendly and convenient.

"nice stay in Welwyn Garden City"
Criny, 02 Juin 2016

If you pass through this lovely city, stop by the Best Western Homestead Court hotel. I have just spent a weekend there and I was pleased with my stay. I booked one of the suites with a small kitchen because I needed to prepare my own meals. The room was nice, small but with everything we needed. Very clean, a hairdryer was provided. The kitchen was equipped with a cooking stove, small fridge, and a microwave. Plates, glasses, pots and utensils were provided. Staff was very polite, courteous. Breakfast in the hotel was good. Personally I only eat cereals, and bread, with juice, but for those who like warm plates there was an assorted choice of eggs, ham, cheese and sausages.

"A call to inform us of the left property would have been perfect, as everything else was pretty good and its very diffi"
Mrs M H, 31 Mai 2016

Not enough time with only one nights stay, hence 'Very Good' It will be excellent if you manage to post me my perfume. WE arrived later than we needed to, due to traffic delays. If we had the benefit of a call from the hotel to say that the perfume had been found, I would have given the hotel 'excellent'.

"Slightly better than a Premier Inn"
David H, 22 Mai 2016

Stayed for 2 nights. Friday night the restaurant was 'closed' as they had a wedding the next day and the chef had a night off. The girl on the bar was very helpful and organised a meal that wasn't on the bar menu. The bar menu itself was a scrawled white board with not a great selection of food. We were upgraded to the 'Moore Suite' (The whole hotel seems to be 'thezed' to football) in the adjacent block which overlooked the park. Unfortunately the plastic windows had warped and no longer kept out the sounds of the kids shouting in the park, at night or the early morning dog walkers.

"Outdated but Nice"
Ármánd N, 21 Mai 2016

This place is nice and the staff is excellent but very outdated. The food in the hotel is not the best but it is ok. The room is clean and with a big bathroom. There is tv and free wifi but I had problems with the wifi. If I wated to watch a movie online or use my online accounts I could not since it redirected me to the hotels website prompting me to register. The bed was comfortable.

"Amazing staff"
Alina R, 19 Mai 2016

Another amazing stay with family n kids.very nice staff at the front desk, helped us throughout by offering all we need lower floor, extra beds etc. kids were extremely happy playing in the back garden and the extra care and attention of the bar n restaurant staff.very pleasant stay overall :)

"Still nice !"
PauleGallie, 17 Mai 2016

Good stay, worked there back in the early 90's. Hotel has modern looking bar, within walking distance of shops , bank etc. Five minute drive to the town centre. Nice restaurant and room of good standard.

"Great Weekend"
Melin200969, 16 Mai 2016

Upon arrival was greeted by very friendly, professional staff who told us we have received a free upgrade. Hotel & room looked stunning, very clean and wonderfully appointed. Staff couldn't do enough for us, especially arriving back from an evening out @ 2am ;) Wonderful weekend, would book again!

"Strange looking hotel from another era"
greyhoundcollar, 15 Mai 2016

Read many reviews of this hotel and was dubious about fulfilling my booking. In truth it is a very pleasant place to stay, good room and bathroom and the BEST breakfast I've ever had in any UK hotel. I can recommend the Homestead Court Hotel to everyone.

"Overnight stay"
Nicholas W, 15 Mai 2016

A reasonable hotel. The entrance way is nice and looks reasonably recently refurbished. The room 101 was clean and tidy but was tired and really could be a lovely room if refurbished. The Bar is ok, service quick... But expensive.... £5 a pint and 75p for a small bag of walkers crisps...

"Exellent"
Priscilla F, 15 Mai 2016

Fantastic hotel. Amazing staff. We will be moving a trip to welling garden city again just to stay here, the food & room service was brilliant. It was truly a wonderful experience My husband and I highly recommend this hotel

"Business overnight stay"
shawej, 14 Mai 2016

I found the staff very friendly and efficient, the food was good value and the bedroom clean and spacious. The breakfast choice was fantastic and the cooked English breakfast hot and tasty. The outside area with patio and well kept gardens was a pleasure to sit in.

"Somehow OK"
Tomas V, 13 Mai 2016

I stayed there for 1 night because of the business trip and this hotel was somehow OK. There were several things that they should work on: 1. the front desk guy (probably from Pakistan or somewhere) was not really professional and nice guy at all 2. the breakfast was not included 3. room was quite small and with some hairs there

"Staff are amazing"
fontanar, 11 Mai 2016

We had a three nights stay. The first two nights were excellent and really enjoyed the Breakfast. Very quiet and tranquil. Unfortunately on the last evening there was a lot of disturbance due to a communion. This was out of the hotels control and we were very satisfied how the situation was resolved on check out. We would definitely stay again.

"Overnight stay for a wedding"
ix_Romanul, 04 Mai 2016

I feel slightly generous giving 4 stars, I would have preferred it to be 3.5, but my overall stay I would say was ok. I paid via Central Reservations/Bookings and my experience with the people there was pleasant. Upon arrival to the hotel, which, just seemed to spring out of nowhere in the middle of an estate, was that it was welcoming, but slightly dated (I know as a manager there is not a lot you can do to make the exterior of the building look much better than it does already). When I spoke to the receptionist, she was fine with me. I found I had been upgraded to a Deluxe room which was a pleasant surprise. The room was spacious, bed comfortable, bathroom nicely furnished, and modern. I got the room on a good deal and to be upgraded was a nice touch. The hotel didn't seem particularly busy and it was relatively quiet inside, the doors did make a noise when leaving and entering the room, they go with quite a bang, which late at night wasn't a problem for us as there was nobody around. The night porter was very helpful and friendly, and went out of our way to sort us out with drinks upon our return to the hotel after the wedding. The breakfast was a nice selection and the woman who served us was lovely and extremely helpful. When I came to checkout, the receptionist was on the phone and tried to check me out whilst on the phone, which I felt was rude, I would rather have waited for the conversation to finish and then be served but she didn't seem thankful that we had stayed in the hotel. I would describe my overall experience as ok. 3.5/5.

"Not what we were expecting"
Steve A, 03 Mai 2016

Built in the middle of what looked like a council estate finding this place is not easy even with a sat nav, getting out without one could have been a nightmare. Hotel OK, bed was comfortable and the bar staff were fabulous. Shame about the food. Had the house burger with chips. Burger tasted so odd I left half of it and half the chips were raw in the centre. Overpriced Breakfast was OK but I have had much better and for far less. Won't be going back.

"Attending wedding"
bozenad2016, 03 Mai 2016

Convenient location if you need to stay in this part of county, very quiet , surrounded by a lot of trees even it is in the middle of estate. Nice garden.Rooms very comfortable, good bathroom with no problems with water pressure. Very good breakfast with lot of fresh fruits, very tasteful fresh bread, good cold meat selection and cheese. Disappointed by the staff at the reception. First the hotel lost my reservation, thankfully the Central Best Western Reservation found it. Than when checking-out they try to charge me again (the room and the breakfast has been paid in advance).

"Awful."
GeorgiaLister, 02 Mai 2016

I booked a standard double room to stay at this hotel, then I needed to amend my booking. The staff on reception were rude and had poor customer service skills to which I was even hung up on. The general manager of the hotel offered me a free upgrade which I was happy to accept but then he took it upon himself to cancel my booking without consulting me because I imposed a threat due to telling him I wasn't looking forward to my stay after being spoken to so badly by his staff. He didn't want bad reviews leaving however there are plenty of them. My partner then had to book the hotel in his name as the rest of my family were staying there due to a family wedding being held round the corner. After arriving at the hotel, the lady on reception was great and was extremely helpful, booked us taxi's to get to the wedding venue etc. The rooms were extremely dated, the shower was cold and the air-conditioning didn't work. The lady at breakfast couldn't have been anymore helpful with times of eating and what we could have, however the 'hot food buffet' was cold and the food was rubbery. Didn't enjoy my stay here and neither did the rest of my family. We certainly won't be returning.

"Could do better"
JuNDunc, 21 Avril 2016

For some reason we were given an easy access room which whilst nice and big, was away from the main hotel. Room was clean but a double room with coffee / tea facilities for one! Towels were small and scratchy and there was no hot water in the shower. Because we werent in the main hotel we made do and complained at reception when we went over for dinner and were given a drink on the house to make up for it!

"Worst room in 40 years of travel"
Len K, 10 Avril 2016

In no specific order: * I have not slept all night * a twin room should have two equal width beds. This had one narrow double bed and one very very narrow bed. Both not long enough. * the bathroom sink tap dripped loudly all night * the power light on the TV started to blink in the middle of the night Also * elevator very slow * no air-conditioning Enough said. It's 6am and I'm exhausted

"Anniversary celebrations"
eshaw7, 05 Avril 2016

My wife and I recently celebrated our 60th Wedding anniversary with a few friends at the Best Western Homestead Court Hotel in Welwyn Garden City. The event organizer, Anca Onciul, was very helpful in the planning of the overnight stay and dinner arrangements. The meal was very good and the waitress service was impeccable, they were friendly, helpful and attentative throughout the evening. The Hotel room was clean and tidy and had everything we required. However there were two paperwork problems we encountered. 1. On check-in, the receptionist couldn't find our reservation, but Anca was on hand to sort this out. 2. At breakfast next morning two of our party were not one the breakfast list, but again this was easily sorted. It was a pity that these things happened as the Hotel got so much right.

"Lovely weekend"
TimaruTim, 04 Avril 2016

Have just spent two nights at this hotel and I have to say what a pleasure. Room was well decorated and very clean with a lovely view over the garden. I did have my reservations about this hotel as it sits in a residential area but being honest, it was great. Don't be put off. The restaurant was very good and catered for our group of 16 including my fussy grandchildren with ease. Don't miss breakfast. Hot and well cooked, just what you need for a busy day. Next time we need a hotel in the area, we will be back. A great job from both Lucien and Anca, thank you.

"Great breakfast"
Dean W, 03 Avril 2016

Two days stay in this hotel. Rooms where nice enough. Had evening meal on the first night and food and service was good. A mention for George the chef . I can honestly say that the breakfast was really nice , if a bit expensive. Only negative was that we tried to order some sandwiches for lunch but after waiting at the bar and reception for a while thought it may be quicker to use room service . We called room service from our room 4 times with no answer. So no lunch for us. This is the only reason I have scored you short of 5

"Weekend Break"
G S, 24 Mars 2016

Well located for a weekend break. Very quiet hotel located in a residential area and has a good location to Knebworth House. The only downside was that the restaurant was closed for the weekend but the pub served a good selection of food and the service was excellent. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The only comment I have is that this is an old hotel and even though it is very well maintained and the rooms are comfortable and well furnished with some excellent touches (bottled water supplied in the room) I found that the main areas are a little dated. My first choice when staying away either on business or leisure is always if possible Best Western and The Homestead Court impressed us with its homely feel and service.

"What a shower!"
John B, 22 Mars 2016

This hotel is very deceptive from the outside and could be in a better area but a good weekend was had by us and our dinner guests. Staff and food excellent, although main restaurant not open at the weekend, but excellent bar meals available. Rooms very clean, beds extremely comfortable. Shower poor to terrible. Would stay there again. Location was superb for our family gathering.

"poor"
Steven G, 22 Mars 2016

not a good trip this time especially when the staff asked me to pay again and my room was outside the hotel area. I did not ask for a studio flat I wanted inside the hotel as I had before on my trips. and the staff tried to charge me again when I paid in advance

"One night stay visiting a friend in Welwyn."
Shaun P, 15 Mars 2016

Good size room overlooking the garden. Plenty of free parking spaces. Peaceful location, about twenty five minute walk into town centre, but shops and restaurants close by including a good pub less than five minutes walk away.

"Great hotel, friendly staff"
User, 15 Mars 2016

I stayed here with my wife, and we had an executive room. The room was spacious, bathrooms were modern and very clean. Bed was very comfortable with extra pillows easy to locate. All in all, a good find and very welcoming. Would recommend for business or pleasure!

"Old hotel and terrible food "
AHJenkins, 15 Mars 2016

First time at this hotel on an overnight business stop. Tired looking hotel. Room very tired. TV remote broken. Bed comfortable though. I would describe room as adequate but also very noisy. But when I went for food it all went downhill. The starter of calamari was appalling, the food presentation was best described as childish and it was tasteless. The main of lamb shank was grim, supposedly laid On a bed of mash. It tasted like powdered mash and the sauce tasted like cheap gravy sauce. The lamb was unusual colour and tasteless. All in all one of the worst culinary experiences I have in the last five years.

"Another good week"
Carl B, 15 Mars 2016

stay here most weeks for 3 nights. Practical, comfortable....staff are hard working, care about you and do a good job. Food is perfectly fine and menu regularly changes.....specials board is always a winner....

"Nothing too much trouble"
John M, 11 Mars 2016

My wife and I booked a room for 3 weeks to be near our son and his wife following the birth of their first child. On learning of the reason for and length of our stay, we were offered an upgrade to a larger, more comfortable room. The reception staff asked if the room was to our liking on several occasions, and were very keen to address the slightest criticism, no matter how minor. All staff, from top management down, were courteous, welcoming and friendly and the general atmosphere was of an establishment which prides itself on high standards and aims to maintain them. The room, which was in an annexe overlooking local playing fields, was well appointed with comfortable bed, hot drinks-making facilities, good clothes storage and spacious bathroom, kept clean, tidy, and serviced each day throughout our stay. Some rooms have quiet air-conditioning. We ate at the hotel each day for breakfast, but only once in the evening, since we were providing food for our family in their home. Both quality of food and service in the restaurant were consistently of a very high standard. Free car parking is available on-site. The hotel is in a quiet area, and there was no noise disturbance of any kind whilst we were there. Overall a pleasurable experience, which we shall be repeating on future family visits.

"Perfect for work event"
cressy4eva, 09 Mars 2016

Found online as local to work event nearby and didn't know the area. Rooms clean and good standard & staff very friendly. Ate in the restaurant and food was very nice. Good selection at breakfast at the buffet. Perfect for what was needed...no complaints.

"Good business hotel."
Tom G, 07 Mars 2016

This hotel is not the most modern but everything was good a perfectly good stay in comfortable clean room. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Sat in the lounge bar for a meal - The only thing was the draft from the door, otherwise food and drink very good. Breakfast was poorly presented but fine though for £12.95 I would expect a better choice.

"dissapointing"
sibby50, 07 Mars 2016

we stayed at the Homestead Court hotel for one night to visit family who had travelled a long way so we made the effort to travel down from Staffordshire. we arrived mid afternoon and was able to check in straight away which was good. we were told our room was on the 3rd floor which again was fine, so we went to our room which overlooked the front of the hotel and the room was fine with a decent sized bathroom. we went out for the evening with our family and had a good evening and we got back to the hotel at about 11pm, and then that is when it wendownhill. there was a party going on which no one had told us about when we checked in that afternoon. went to our room and watched some tv till about 12 which must of been when the party ended and then all we could hear for about an hour was the sound of people leaving andf waiting for taxis, plenty of shouting and screaming with the occasional sound of breaking glass, which we found out the next morning was glass bottles and glasses. after this the staff must of clearing up as then all you could hear was the glass bottles being thrown into the bins which were beneath our window, although we were on the 3rd floor it was very loud. finally got to sleep at about 2am. mentioned this to the receptionist when we were checking out and all she said was' that is why we put you on the 3rd floor'!!! still no one had bothered to tell us that there was a party that evening. i also mentioned that we did not have enough pillows on our bed and she said there are some 'in the wardrobe', to which i said no all that was in there was an iorn and a spare blanket. was dissapointed in our stay there and will possibly look at somewhere else in the future when we next need somewhere to stay in WGC.

"Business trip"
Petbar285, 05 Mars 2016

Stayed for three nights. Receptionist very helpful on arrival. Room on 2nd floor had good standard of facilities including a bath with shower, also iron and ironing board, Room had 2 beds. Food excellent quality in the restaurant and service very good. All staff polite and helpful.

"great hotel"
neil p, 01 Mars 2016

stayed for a visit to friends in the area of Welwyn and Hatfield I found that this is the only hotel that has a full 24 hour service and a free gym to go to near by I had breakfast in bed which was unbeatable the rooms have been newly furbished and the Bar meals were very well cooked and at a reasonable price, the staff could not do enough for me being a lone lady will come back again

"Good Value - Clean Room and Courteous Staff"
Rupert B, 29 Février 2016

This hotel offers a god value stay for business travellers, clean comfortable room. The hotel is slightly showing its age in some of the Décor but I overlooked this for the friendly courteous service at check in and out.

"Overnight Stay"
Bridget P, 28 Février 2016

This was our first visit to the hotel. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was exceptionally good. The only improvement would be a pet friendly policy for at least some of the rooms. The hotel is ideally situated next to a park and it was rather ironic to listen to dogs having fun when we had to leave our dogs with a friend.

"Old-fashioned but tidy, quiet and pleasant"
olha123, 28 Février 2016

I stayed here for work for one week. The hotel has fairly old-fashioned decor, but this is the only thing I would change about it. It is clean and quiet, located in a leafy secluded location. The staff are lovely, they are very helpful whenever you need a hand and seem genuinely interested in giving you a hand. The hotel has access to a gym (Gosling Sports Centre) - you need to ask at reception to get access card. It is a modern gym/ leisure club and I would highly recommend giving it a go. The rooms are good-sized with an ensuite shower. There is plenty of space and you receive a selection of tea/coffee/decaf/hot choc and a biscuit. The wifi is free. As to food I only had breakfast at the hotel; and this was tasty and wholesome (you can choose between continental for £9.95 or full English for £13.95). There is a good choice of foods; and they all seem to be locally sourced. There is a pub nearby called Chieftain, offering a range of "pub grub" at very reasonable prices. There is a car park at the front, but this seemed to fill in quite quickly. There is also off-street parking nearby so leaving your car should not be a problem.

"Needs a bit of an update!"
penrosemoons, 26 Février 2016

We were in the Charlton Suite which was a grand name for a hotel room with a small kitchen area just outside thee bathroom! Old fashioned wall paper, generally a very dated room. The bathroom was clean enough but limescale evidence made it feel a bit unfinished The kitchen area was ok but there was a disgusting looking brush for the washing up - I hope it wasn't used for the items in the cupboards! Breakfast was plentiful and generous

"Customer service with a smile "
cosycouple87, 21 Février 2016

My friend and I stayed here in a twin room (308) after a wedding reception at a nearby venue. Best Western were very helpful when I called to book the room. I initially intended to stay with my husband and I called to check the size of the beds in the standard double room. As they were only standard doubles (and not kingsized - my husband is very tall and we both don't fit in a regular double bed) I elected to book a twin room. The lady on the phone helpfully booked me a twin room that had both a standard double bed for my husband and a single bed for me. The room was an adequate size, had a nice bathroom and was clean. The decor is very dated but we didn't get disturbed by any noise from neighbouring rooms and there were blackout curtains. Amy at reception was very obliging and provided cutlery & an ice bucket for us to take up to our room (for a takeaway of sorts), she also booked us a taxi and called up to the room when it arrived and most importantly she found 2 safety pins to resolve an underwear emergency. There was a good selection for breakfast including full English buffet, dried fruit selection, pastries and some cured meats as well as the usual cereal. Breakfast was served from 8 - 10am and beware it gets removed at 10am prompt. Although I wouldn't chose to stay here for more than one night, it was perfect for what we needed and all the staff were really friendly. For £80 including breakfast, I thought this was good value. Suggested improvement: plug sockets by both beds/in the middle of the beds rather than all at one end of the room. The hotel accepts no liability for cars parked in their car park (which is probably a standard thing). I mention this only because I returned to my car in the morning to find a crack in my windscreen. I presume this was some sort of random accident, and I am lucky it is covered by my car insurance so it isn't a problem but for this reason I wouldn't recommend parking in the closest diagonal parking bay opposite the hotel doors.

"Secluded Hotel near to commercial area in Welwyn Garden City"
Mike_ahoy, 18 Février 2016

Staff very helpful, in particular Lucian who offered me an upgrade!! Location is probably key for me, near work and there is an amazing Indian Restaurant nearby "The Don". I didn't eat there so can't comment on food but it's a quiet Hotel and just make sure you get your Sat Nav to help the first time you go there as it's nestled beside a park/houses.

"Joint 50th & 18th Birthday Party"
Jimson888, 14 Février 2016

I recently had a joint party for my 50th and my daughters 18th birthdays and we held the party at Homestead Court Hotel. From the start I cannot fault the help and organisation help I received. I would particularly like to mention Anca who was always at the end of a phone or in person if we needed to add things or ask questions she was brilliant!! The staff in the afternoon while we were setting up were very helpful and let us have the room how we wanted it. Anca and the staff were there in the evening too. I cannot fault them in any way. If you are organising a party call Anca and use Homestead Court Hotel.

"A little dated in an odd location"
David B, 08 Février 2016

I used this hotel during a recent business trip to my office. The Homestead Court is an old building located in the middle of a residential area with very few amenities within walking distance. This makes you reliant on the hotel itself for food and drink. The hotel is quite adequate with good facilities for dining either in the bar or dining room. The room I had was a little squashed - typical of a hotel this age - with only a shower and no bath. The shower was good although you need to be aware that the control is easily knocked when showering, changing the temperature of the water very quickly to one extreme or the other!!!

"Weekly stay"
Carl B, 07 Février 2016

I stay here most weeks for business. Practical for my work. Enjoy the food. Staff try their best. A good young team. Rooms are clean and practical. A perfectly decent hotel if in the area or indeed want a good value hotel with good transport links to London. Walking distance to train station and easy access into King's cross.

"A Great stay"
Tony B, 02 Février 2016

Another very good stay at this great hotel, very handy for London (20 minutes by train) and great staff really made the whole visit excellent. The service was very good and the staff very friendly. We stayed in one of the suites which are very nice and have their own kitchen facilities as well.

"Comfortable, welcoming and always on hand to help. "
dudemonkey, 29 Janvier 2016

Have stayed here before and as previously the rooms are comfortable and you are always greeted with a warm welcome and friendly smile. Initially put in a room that we not happy with due to being directly opposite the lift and a few other niggles. Went to reception, not to complain but to enquire as to the possibilities... The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Relocated us to a quieter room immediately. Great customer service that far outweighs the 3 star rating it has ! I know there is another hotel chain in the area but by far this is the most reasonably priced... More bang for your buck as they say ! If you receive the same service we got you wont be disappointed !

"Great venue for a special party or occasion"
Tina20156, 25 Janvier 2016

We used this hotel in 2007 when my daughter and son in law had their wedding reception here. It was so good I decided to use the venue again for my big birthday party. From the first meeting to discuss details I felt personally looked after. The hotel staff couldn't be more helpful and Anca who co ordinated everything was excellent. The room was set up exactly as requested, the food was excellent and the staff were on hand all evening to assist. We stayed overnight, as did many of my guests, and the staff put out large round tables for breakfast just for us so we could sit together. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definitely use this hotel again and also highly recommend it for a social function.

"Good business hotel "
Bob H, 21 Janvier 2016

Straight forward. Good food and bar. Free wifi is always handy. Rooms are not too big, but bathroom is newly renovated. Very quiet environment. I will come back on other occasions. Good connection to the city.

"A very nice stay"
Pochan213, 15 Janvier 2016

I had a very nice stay here for business. The bed was clean and very comfortable, the room was warm and the breakfast was very good. The staff were very helpful and polite. All in all I enjoyed my stay and would go back. The only thing that I would like to see an improvement in is the quality of the Guinness in the bar.

"It was the best of times and it was the worst of times........"
bash99, 06 Janvier 2016

I have stayed here before and really hoped the plumbing problems had been sorted. They have not. I was lucky.....my friend in another room wasn't. The water had become muddy brown and contaminated with some residue. Unaware, he jumped into the shower after a long journey without running the water for a while. He went in white scottish and came out as a fellow Asian! The water had given him what looked like a heavy fake bake tan. The last thing you expect a hotel to do is change your racial appearance without your permission. Fortunately, running the water eventually cleaned out the system and all was well after that. The food was pretty good and the staff are wonderful. Great service from Anya and of course the ever helpful Charlotte. They really make your stay feel special and it more than made up for the bad points. I would stay again and I only hope they sort out the plumbling issues soon.

"Relaxing stay"
Bawo, 04 Janvier 2016

On arrival, I was told I had been upgraded. The room was spotless. Very comfortable bed. And the shower was really good. There was tea/ coffee and biscuits. Nice if you don't want to leave your room in the morning. Downside is that there are just enough parking spaces. So if you come back to the hotel late, you're likely to have the parking just by the road.

"Amazing stay"
VOYAGE2015, 25 Décembre 2015

My recent stay at the Homestead Court was simply amazing. The best thing I like about the hotel is the personalized service I always get from here. This time I stayed after a gap of almost two months and the waiter at breakfast knew exactly which table I used to have my breakfast on during my last stay. Wi-fi signals are always strong here. Reception staff is courteous and helpful.

"Amazing experience"
Alina R, 22 Décembre 2015

Had an opportunity to stay in this hotel for a couple of days, we had a wonderful experience. The hotel is clean, has excellent breakfast and really helpful staff. Our room was tidy and comfortable. My children are really fussy about their food, they were happy after their stay here as they were provided with their favourite options.. I would happily recommend this hotel to everyone..

"An interesting detail for this hotel is a 3AM fire alarm activation due to "a system issue"
breffo, 12 Décembre 2015

Drab, dated hotel. TV was OK and to be fair the bed was good. I had difficulty turning off the radiator in my room and heat was a bit uncomfortable. Breakfast was bad. Bad hot food, coffee machine served something that I would hardly describe as coffee. Staff varied from mildly helpful to a bit sullen. As I have mentioned there was a 3 AM fire alarm activation that was apparently due to a 'system issue'. Not sure I believed the guy!

"Rod stewart"
M1tchamp, 06 Décembre 2015

We had a very fun night last night, the food was great and the staff were very helpful. They catered for glutton free and fussy eaters. The food was hot, when you think there were 150+ people I will be booking again for sure. The rooms were very good. The breakfast was very tasty :) Rod Stewart tribute was very entertaining and value for money.

"Pleasant stay."
Yuksel U, 05 Décembre 2015

I've stayed at this hotel before and I must say that it is always clean and tidy. Staff always friendly and helpful. Food including breakfast is great with many options you'll find what you are looking for. The hotel and the area is always quiet and beds are comfortable so you will get a good nights sleep. Plenty parking spaces which is free and Wifi is also complimentary. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and we will be visiting again very soon.

"pool restrictions and small bed"
Gasha65, 16 Novembre 2015

Beds are very small pool facilities are at a local leisure centre, whilst quite nice only two spaces are available at any one time. So prepare to be disappointed by non availability. beds are comfortable but quite small

"Average at best but generally not great across the board"
bob_the_moo, 13 Novembre 2015

From the appearance through to the service, this is a functional hotel which is okay but nothing better. The rooms are reasonable but soft beds, so-so cleaning, and nothing too comfortable. Internet was included but was so terrible that in the end I used my phone to create a local network – theirs just kept dropping every 5 minutes. Service is reasonably friendly but inefficient; to be fair there was a notice on the front desk that some new IT system would cause delays – but 15 minutes to check out was crazy (not including the time queuing to do so). It is average at best, but to the point where I'd rather take a risk with some other chains in the area than return to this one in particular.

"Worst nights sleep"
Dufc1, 11 Novembre 2015

Worst nights sleep! Avoid room 222, right beside the stairs and subsequent fire doors. You knew ,ever time someone opened the doors, and it was even worse when residents who were arriving or leaving showed little respect for others in the hotel, talking loudly. Outside through the night you could hear trolleys or similar being moved through the car park, and the flagpoles outside were simply noisy and irritating on what was a windy night. All contributing to little or no sleep! Room had a double bed in a corner with a large bathroom. A side cabinet beside the bed, unfortunately it protruded into the walking area! Result ,walking in a dark room (you do need to go to the toilet sometime) easily kicked, sore, and simply shouldn't be there. An ok hotel, but would recommend a rear room, just to start with........

"Clean, well appointed, decent food."
WolvesPete81, 08 Novembre 2015

Stayed here while attending a wedding in Welwyn. It's perfectly good for a weekend away, Slight issues are that while the hotel has four floors, the lift only goes to the third, also it's in a residential area so there's not much within walking distance if you;re looking for some local colour. The breakfast was good and filling - extra points for having french toast.

"Pleasant surprise"
ShropshirePrimrose, 02 Novembre 2015

We stayed here for one night to attend a family do last weekend. We booked on their website and got a really good deal. I joined their reward scheme and so got an upgrade to one of the executive suites. They are named for the 1966 world cup winning team who stayed there and trained in the local park for the tournament. There are some interesting memorabilia on the wall in the lounge. The outside of the building is not very inviting being very 1930s but the inside is lovely. Modern, warm and clean. Our room faced the park and had a bird feeder outside the window which was used continuously. A lovely touch. Everything worked as it should and we slept well. The breakfast was great and served by friendly staff. Would definitely return.

"Fabulous stay"
Keldolly, 29 Octobre 2015

We stayed over night on the 27th of Oct, I booked last minute on there website. We had an absolutely lovely stay. Our room was perfect it was the executive suite on the 4th floor, as soon as we entered our room we were presently surprised, it was such a gorgeous room for the price we paid, we had a huge room with a flat-screen tv and seating area. The bathroom was as big as a normal sized room with a huge corner bath and waterfall shower, the bathroom was to a very high standard just like the rest of the suite. In the morning after a very comfortable nights sleep we went down for breakfast. For such a cheap price there was a very large selection including all day fried and Continental breakfast with fresh fruit and yogurts. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and we will be visiting again very soon, I hope.

"Cliff Richard Tour Hotel"
Graeme R, 24 Octobre 2015

It was only a 1 night stay to accomodate us for the night while me and my wie went to see Cliff Richard at the Royal Albert Hall with Newmarket Holidays. The check in ran smoothly but it took ages to get to the room as the hotel has only 2 extremely slow lifts that accomodate 3 people at a time. We were supposed to be booked in to a twin bedded room, but the double bed only had roodm for 1 person so a single bed was also in the room. Both beds moved when you sat on them. Room size I would say very tiny and not much wardrobe space. Looking at the menus it is a very expensive hotel for meals, room service and calls. At breakfast we were allowed to upgrade to a full english breakfast for £4 per person and my only positive comment about this hotel is there excellent range of breakfast produce.

"Nice for a short stay"
Ross T, 13 Octobre 2015

I stopped at this hotel in September whilst traveling for work. As mentioned by some there seems like there may be an issue parking if it's busy however I had no problems. The room was very clean and bed reasonably comfy. The shower was very powerful and the bathroom modern and clean. The dinner was OK - had a bit of a wait - the breakfast was fine. I would certainly stop there again on business maybe not for pleasure.

"Freindly Hotel"
hass52, 07 Octobre 2015

My wife and I stayed at this hotel, for a few days, and we where both very satisfied with the overall service and the restaurant served us wonderful meals. We would definitely stay there again. The rooms where clean, and the beds where comfortable The Bar at the lobby served us promptly and the lobby had a good atmosphere.. The garden at the back is nice to walk and also had a seating area with service.

I stopped here on business, not my choice of hotel The hotel itself is nice enough, beds are comfy and room was fairly spacious. It is located in a housing estate so there is not much around. I did ask with a member of staff about any local takeaways. He said there was nothing within walking distance. But speaking to another guest in the morning he said there is a few takeaways just up the road... To late. There was a wedding on when we arrived and the loud music carried on until after midnight, which is not what you want after a 15 hour work day, Hence the average rating Free wifi was good

Booked via Rooms.com via credit card, short notice cheap and cheerful £64 room only, The hotel is run down dump, dirty and in serious need of renovation. No spa facilties as described, rooms noisy and stained, can hear either side of you using the toilet!!. Worst of all on checking out i noticed i had been charged £100 just in case i had charged anything to my room on explaining i had not they said it was hotel policy and would not refund, i was laughed at by the over baring reception manager and when asked to see the manager a unkempt horrible man said it ws company policy turned his back and walked off, i am still awaiting return of money to my card. DONOT BOOK THIS AWFUL HOTEL

We go to this hotel a few times a year to visit family it is always clean and tidy and the food including breakfast is always good and well cooked. The hotel is always quiet and the beds are comfortable and always get a good nights sleep. The gardens are nice with a few squirrels running around also the hotel has plenty of parking.

I've stayed at a fair few BW's my company having a business account with them, so chose this one as it was convenient to where we were working. I've just read a few of the comments in the 'terrible' section, and can only assume some people only go on the internet to complain! I can only say that the room was spot on, no issues whatsover, the food was good and I even managed to watch Netflix on my Kindle....not always possible in some hotels. If I absolutely had to complain about something, its that the only cider you had was Magners or that flavoured rubbish, but after a few pints of Carlsberg it didn't seem to matter anymore ?? Keep up the good work!
